:00:59. > :01:02.So a moment of British sporting history. Silver medal around the

:01:03. > :01:21.neck of Neill Thomas. We have a World Champion. Fantastic.

:01:22. > :01:26.Britain's Louis Smith, for the first time in British Olympic history,

:01:27. > :01:32.medals in an apparatus final. He is World Champion on floor. What an

:01:33. > :01:38.incredible achievement. A silver medal in the all-rounds. My word,

:01:39. > :01:45.Daniel Keatings, absolutely phenomenal. That is a beautiful

:01:46. > :01:50.routine. That was first class. Come on, Daniel. That will do

:01:51. > :01:54.nicely. What a moment, enjoy this boys.

:01:55. > :02:04.Oh, fantastic. He could not have done that better.

:02:05. > :02:11.The culmination of years of building. The foundations have been

:02:12. > :02:16.there. Now they are going to reap the rewards. Make of a your

:02:17. > :02:19.weaknesses your strengths and you will be a champion. Max Whitlock is

:02:20. > :02:32.the pommel horse World Champion. Well, hello and welcome to

:02:33. > :02:40.Liverpool's Echo Arena for coverage, live coverage of the British

:02:41. > :02:43.gymnastics chipts. As you have seen from that piece there, British

:02:44. > :02:48.Gymnastics has never been better, more successful. Winning 44 medals

:02:49. > :02:51.in the last 14 years at world and European level. Goodness me,

:02:52. > :02:55.somebody who has been a very, very big part of that medal haul and of

:02:56. > :03:01.course the catalyst of the success we have here, of British gymnastics

:03:02. > :03:06.is Beth Tweedle. We have not seen you, for a long time because you

:03:07. > :03:09.have been in rehab after a nasty ski jump accident. How is it going?

:03:10. > :03:14.Getting there. It is a slow process but I'm working with the doctors and

:03:15. > :03:19.physios and building me a rehab programme to get back to full

:03:20. > :03:22.fitness. When I'm in a safe and controlled environment I can take my

:03:23. > :03:27.collar off but when I'm out and about and around people and in the

:03:28. > :03:30.car I have to keep it on. You were in here yesterday in the Arena.

:03:31. > :03:33.6,000 people watching the British Championships. Here we are, a home

:03:34. > :03:39.crowd for you, Liverpool. You must be so proud. The lights have gone

:03:40. > :03:44.out. You cannot see much. But it is a packed crowd A far cry from what

:03:45. > :03:50.we used to compete. A small sports hall, maybe 300 people watching. A

:03:51. > :03:54.few mums and dads. So to see people out here yesterday, coming out, into

:03:55. > :03:58.the smoke and all the people watching and the atmosphere was

:03:59. > :04:03.incredible for Max and Claudia. We wish you all the very best with your

:04:04. > :04:08.continued recovery. We know that you were in for the all-round

:04:09. > :04:14.competition for the women and men. Let's bring everybody up-to-date

:04:15. > :04:20.with what happened yesterday. Last year the gold was Amy Tinkler 's.

:04:21. > :04:24.Could she win two in a row? Her vault suburb but shaky on beam she

:04:25. > :04:33.finished out of the medals in fourth. Ellie Downie's 2015 was

:04:34. > :04:38.superb, with world honours. Her vault as good as ever but a shoulder

:04:39. > :04:52.injured hampered her . I thought My coach was like - how

:04:53. > :04:56.have you managed third? Rebecca Tunney was the youngest

:04:57. > :05:01.Olympian at London 2012. But injuries to both elbows meant she

:05:02. > :05:06.hasn't competed at this level for two years. Spurred on by a home

:05:07. > :05:12.crowd she Saud - I'm back and in the mix for the national teem with an

:05:13. > :05:17.all-round silver. . I have been out so long from being injured. So it

:05:18. > :05:22.was nice to come back and get the silver medal. Over the moon. The

:05:23. > :05:27.winner of the gold never looked in doubt. Claudia Fragapane,

:05:28. > :05:33.untouchable from start to finish. Scores of over 14 in three of her

:05:34. > :05:37.four apparatus, a new best total for her of 58.1 and a first national

:05:38. > :05:42.all-around title. I really enjoyed everything. 58.1. A new PB and a new

:05:43. > :05:46.British record. Yes, I can't believe it. I didn't know it was a British

:05:47. > :05:52.record. I'm really, really happy. I wanted to go out there and go clean

:05:53. > :05:56.and do the best I can Can you go higher, do you think? I think I

:05:57. > :06:02.could, yes. You know I had a few wobbles on beam and be didn't some

:06:03. > :06:06.stuff counted and bars, a struggle going through. If I did really clean

:06:07. > :06:10.work, my absolute best, I think I could go higher. Well, you will see

:06:11. > :06:14.all of the top three in action this afternoon with the apparatus finals

:06:15. > :06:17.but Beth before you go and sit down, quickly, your thoughts on what you

:06:18. > :06:21.saw from the women's side of things last night? It was so exciting to

:06:22. > :06:24.watch. So many going for the top spot. For Claudia to take it under

:06:25. > :06:29.the pressure going into the Olympics was a great result for her and a

:06:30. > :06:35.personal best. It puts them all in great stead ahead of Rio. Rebecca

:06:36. > :06:38.Tunney, she used the word "deliver appear formance" so important for

:06:39. > :06:41.her at this stage bearing in mind selection Yes she has been injured

:06:42. > :06:45.for a couple of years, a tough time to get back to full fitness. A

:06:46. > :06:50.competition between the Downie sisters. Isn't it? I wouldn't like

:06:51. > :06:54.to be in their house? There is rivalry, but friendly. I think they

:06:55. > :06:59.help each other to get back on the road to success. OK. List yes, Beth,

:07:00. > :07:04.thank you for your time. You can sit down now, as we, as David brings us

:07:05. > :07:07.up-to-date on what happens in the men's all-around competition. This

:07:08. > :07:12.was hotly-contested. Ten men in this field had either

:07:13. > :07:16.Olympic, World or European medals. Sam Oldham and James Hall among

:07:17. > :07:23.them. Unable it split the difference, joint fourth for them.

:07:24. > :07:27.Nile Wilson also has international honour abouts but never a senior

:07:28. > :07:34.British medal. He has put that right. Rings and parallel bars in

:07:35. > :07:37.particular helping him to all-around rewards. Happy to place in the

:07:38. > :07:41.all-arounds. It is a tough competition. Everybody is battling

:07:42. > :07:45.it out. Personally disappointed with some routines, aid few faults out

:07:46. > :07:49.there tonight but it is exciting tiles I'm loving every minute of it.

:07:50. > :07:54.Showed a good battle and fight out there. Really happen yinchts last

:07:55. > :07:58.year Dan Purvis took his fourth all-around title. This time he was

:07:59. > :08:03.in better shape than ever. Parallel bars his highlight. His floor not

:08:04. > :08:06.far behind but not even a career-best tally for him could

:08:07. > :08:09.retain the title, silver instead. I was nervous going into this

:08:10. > :08:14.competition, starting on vault. It is always a big piece if you hit it.

:08:15. > :08:18.Yes, I'm ready to hit my routines. It has given me confidence going

:08:19. > :08:22.into the rest of the year. The Glasgow World Cup was great and the

:08:23. > :08:26.British has been fantastic, onwards and upwards. It was then to be Max

:08:27. > :08:31.Whitlock's night. What a night. The world's pommel champion began with a

:08:32. > :08:38.huge 16.25 on that and rounded off with another big score on the floor.

:08:39. > :08:43.An average of 15. 45 for his routines, another personal best

:08:44. > :08:50.total of 92.7. Big enough to have won the last World and Olympic

:08:51. > :08:54.titles. I'm very pleased. There was the Glasgow World Cup beforehand

:08:55. > :08:58.which went great. Like every competition my target is to go

:08:59. > :09:04.clean, which is what I did. An average of 15. 45, did you think you

:09:05. > :09:09.could score that much coming in? Sometimes I have hit it in train, it

:09:10. > :09:13.is different hitting it in a competition day on all six pieces.

:09:14. > :09:17.I'm over the moon, I couldn't ask for more, really. Do you know, I

:09:18. > :09:20.have to say, I couldn't quite believe the quality of the

:09:21. > :09:23.gymnastics going off in the arena last night. Everywhere you looked a

:09:24. > :09:26.winning performance. It really was something. Quite emotional really,

:09:27. > :09:31.when you think about the piece we saw at the beginning and how all of

:09:32. > :09:34.these gymnasts have come to fruition and it is beginning to blossom right

:09:35. > :09:40.now. Well listen, talking us through the action this afternoon, we have

:09:41. > :09:45.two wonderful gymnasts, in Craig Heath, double Commonwealth gold

:09:46. > :09:49.medallist, well done, and back in 2009, Dan, we saw you in the piece

:09:50. > :09:53.at the beginning with the all-around silver but yesterday's competition,

:09:54. > :09:57.it didn't go to plan on pommel horse, sorry. I was just doing the

:09:58. > :10:02.pommel horse. I got to the end of my routine. I did a nice routine. I

:10:03. > :10:06.think I relaxed too much thinking I completed and lost concentration and

:10:07. > :10:11.fell off. I was a little bit gutted about it but at the end of the day

:10:12. > :10:14.mistakes happen. We have heard Max Whitlock being introduced. We have

:10:15. > :10:18.the men's floor and women's bar finals first of all but we have to

:10:19. > :10:22.talk about that 92.7. We heard in the piece there, it could have got

:10:23. > :10:25.gold at the Olympics. That really, is one of the highest all-around

:10:26. > :10:30.scores that has ever been posted, Craig. Ye, it is the highest score

:10:31. > :10:37.and I think it really shows a clear message to the rest of the world

:10:38. > :10:40.that Max Whitlock is a serious contender and not just for the

:10:41. > :10:44.pommel title but for the all-around title as well. Exciting stuff. I

:10:45. > :10:48.mean, really, how - you know when you think about the British judging

:10:49. > :10:53.and how that would compare it the international judging, Dan, what

:10:54. > :10:57.were your thoughts on that? I mean, Max hit every routine perfect

:10:58. > :11:00.yesterday. We have seen in international competitions before he

:11:01. > :11:04.can score in the 90s. So even if it was slightly inflated it is going to

:11:05. > :11:08.be there or thereabouts if he puts in a similar performance on an

:11:09. > :11:12.international stage. I mean we were talking to Scott, his coach, and he

:11:13. > :11:17.said he is tired today. I mean not surprisingly. Yes, it is a really

:11:18. > :11:20.tough competition, a couple of days into this and obviously he has the

:11:21. > :11:24.times and the pressure. Don't forget this is going to be like the World

:11:25. > :11:28.Champion pommel final all over again. So he will be a little bit

:11:29. > :11:34.tired but I guess this is the process that the gymnasts need to go

:11:35. > :11:36.through in the build-up to, you know, the long-tiring competitions'

:11:37. > :11:42.schedule which will be in the Olympic Games. We can see the

:11:43. > :11:49.gymnasts lining up for the floor. We have Jack Neill going fist and Lewis

:11:50. > :11:56.and Reiss Beckford who bizarrely is competed for Jamaica. Amazing. He

:11:57. > :12:01.has Jamaican roots and felt passionate about joining jam aica. I

:12:02. > :12:04.hope he can get the Olympic spot. Dominick Cunningham, an incredibly

:12:05. > :12:09.exciting gymnast. We have seen him come up through the junior ranks.

:12:10. > :12:16.The tumbling and lightness of touch he has. He is doing a new enough a

:12:17. > :12:24.two-and-a-half twisting double back and into another move and nobody in

:12:25. > :12:30.the world has done it. And even the World Champion has done it. Yes he

:12:31. > :12:34.pipped Max to the world title, but Max got the silver. It is unwould

:12:35. > :12:39.have many medals he has do the. Here he is talking to David McDaid. How

:12:40. > :12:42.has life changed if at all, for you since winning that historic men's

:12:43. > :12:45.gold? For me, I like to keep it similar. I come back off these

:12:46. > :12:50.results and major Championships, more motivated to get back into the

:12:51. > :12:54.gym. I don't have much time off. So I think that's what keeps me

:12:55. > :12:59.grounded and keeps it the same. That's what it is all about. It

:13:00. > :13:04.needs to be, you prepare for a competition, you do t get back in

:13:05. > :13:08.and prepare for the next. The expectancy has changed. That's what

:13:09. > :13:12.has changed a lot. GB are going into competitions expected to pro-Dawes

:13:13. > :13:15.results. But we have had a lot of experience now. Ever since London

:13:16. > :13:19.2012 it has felt like that for us. But I I have switched that to

:13:20. > :13:24.support and that's what I feed off of and what vibe I get. It is all

:13:25. > :13:26.really good changes to be honest. What does the British Championships

:13:27. > :13:30.mean, especially on Olympic year, does it take on extra significance?

:13:31. > :13:34.Yes, the British Championships is always a big one in the diary,

:13:35. > :13:37.especially this year, it is the trial for the Olympic Games. All the

:13:38. > :13:40.boys will be doing their best to make the team for the Europeans

:13:41. > :13:44.leading into Rio. But always a big Championships. For you to be crowned

:13:45. > :13:50.the champion in Britain is a great achievement to hold. The team in Rio

:13:51. > :13:54.is fierce among the guys. Yes, a tough team to make. To be honest, I

:13:55. > :13:57.wouldn't want to be the selector. The guys are getting better and

:13:58. > :14:01.better. The younger ones are coming through, pushing the seniors. So,

:14:02. > :14:06.you know, it is very, very tough but it is a great thing for British

:14:07. > :14:09.gymnastics at this point and we are in a very good place and hopefully

:14:10. > :14:17.we can keep going with that strength. The arena awaits for the

:14:18. > :14:22.men's floor time. You can see the women are warming up for the bars.

:14:23. > :14:27.This competition will run kind of simultaneously. We will have a male

:14:28. > :14:31.gymnast then female there. Is Max with his chalkbag. He goes nowhere

:14:32. > :14:37.without it. This is chauk from his own gym, Chris. Yes, he is very,

:14:38. > :14:41.very meticulous, Max, he likes everything planned exactly right and

:14:42. > :14:45.carries his own chalk. Doesn't leave anything to chance. That's the

:14:46. > :14:50.marker of a good gymnast. You don't leave it to chance. Max will be the

:14:51. > :14:54.last gymnast to go in this men's floor final. There is eight here.

:14:55. > :14:56.This really is a Masters competition, Craig. It is quite

:14:57. > :15:00.interesting that the style of Masters compo takes how it works.

:15:01. > :15:04.Yes, it is really examining -- competition and how it works. Yes,

:15:05. > :15:08.it is. We have three days of competitions. In the juniors we have

:15:09. > :15:13.under 16, under 18 and seniors and it is the top eight overall. So it

:15:14. > :15:17.is a real interesting mix for the youngsters to push up and experience

:15:18. > :15:19.what it is like. If you are good enough to post a score then you get

:15:20. > :15:30.an entry into these Masters' finals. First of all, 18-year-old Jack

:15:31. > :15:38.Neill, from Tolworth Gymnastics Club. So, the first gymnast to go in

:15:39. > :15:41.this British floor final. You can see the chalk square that he is

:15:42. > :15:51.standing in just to keep plenty of grip on the feet. 20 metres by 20

:15:52. > :15:55.metres, the floor area. CHRISTINE STILL: These gymnasts

:15:56. > :16:01.competed Friday if they are juniors, or yesterday's if they are seniors.

:16:02. > :16:07.And as we said, the Masters is a mix of juniors and seniors. So, a lot of

:16:08. > :16:09.pressure on the seniors here. BORIS BECKER: So, Jack Neill kicks

:16:10. > :16:26.off this men's floor final. Let's see what he has got. Nice,

:16:27. > :16:30.double twist. People are able working backwards, 2.5, punch front

:16:31. > :16:41.half. Like adjustment on the landing. -- slight adjustment. No

:16:42. > :16:56.execution there. Favoured by the gymnasts. Arabian. Settling in. That

:16:57. > :17:04.is the Russian swing, often seen on the pommel horse. Gymnasts show a

:17:05. > :17:12.bit of originality on the floor. Nice double twist. Plenty of time,

:17:13. > :17:18.head out, spots the floor. This will be the final tumble. And there is

:17:19. > :17:26.the buzzer. Into the triple twist, slight step back on lending. Good

:17:27. > :17:33.routine. Very good routine. Strong work from the 19-year-old. Very nice

:17:34. > :17:37.and very clean. You get two scores, one for the difficulty and one for

:17:38. > :17:42.the execution. He will have had a good execution score. Did not give

:17:43. > :17:48.many marks away. Nice, clean landing. Completely bent the legs

:17:49. > :17:55.and the white minute, not giving anything to the judges there.

:17:56. > :18:01.Blogroll lovely triple. The step back will cost him about .3, but he

:18:02. > :18:04.kept it to a minimum. And just a word, Chris, on the amount of spring

:18:05. > :18:10.that is in the floor, and how it helps the gymnasts? This is on the

:18:11. > :18:20.podium, which is already built up, with its own spring. So, Amy

:18:21. > :18:28.Tinkler, the first gymnast to go in the women's bars final. 24 years

:18:29. > :18:33.old. This, not Jamie Cording favourite piece. She has worked

:18:34. > :18:40.really hard and progressed well. Lovely pirouette, and that is a

:18:41. > :18:45.shame. She performed that really well last night in qualification but

:18:46. > :18:51.just did not quite stretchy enough to catch the bar. They were three

:18:52. > :18:56.very difficult combinations of moves linked together. That is of course

:18:57. > :19:04.how you get the difficulty but also it is risky if you do not do the

:19:05. > :19:11.first move, it is a bit like an equation, if you do not get the

:19:12. > :19:19.first bit right, it can ricochet on. Two chances to get her hands on a

:19:20. > :19:24.medal here. This is a difficult move, the half-turn, and she did it

:19:25. > :19:29.beautifully. Last night, she performed for the first time the

:19:30. > :19:36.very difficult double twisting double. Are we going to see it

:19:37. > :19:39.today? Yes, we do! A great dismount from Amy Tinkler. Shame there was a

:19:40. > :19:44.break in the middle, but some really positive stuff there. Chris, you

:19:45. > :19:48.were saying that she managed to land that dismount. Sitting alongside you

:19:49. > :19:52.last night while she was going through that, you were pre-empting

:19:53. > :19:57.the dismount. Great success on that? Yes, because last year, Amy was

:19:58. > :20:01.British champion. That was the Tkatchev which she missed. She was

:20:02. > :20:06.British champion last year, and all of these gymnasts are working so

:20:07. > :20:09.hard to up their difficulty ready for Rio. They know they have got to

:20:10. > :20:15.make their mark. CRAIG HEAP: And what a finish there.

:20:16. > :20:19.New move, performed really well. Knees and toes locked together. It

:20:20. > :20:24.takes something to get back onto the bar after a fall and pull the

:20:25. > :20:33.routine together. Even though it did not go as well today as she

:20:34. > :20:37.expected, she is definitely going in the right direction. Jack Neill

:20:38. > :20:47.awaits his floor score. And he got 14.1. So, as the score is in, we can

:20:48. > :20:52.move on to the second gymnast, who is Jamie Lewis. Now, we were talking

:20:53. > :20:58.about the Masters... Now, this athlete is 15 years old, competes in

:20:59. > :21:04.the under-sixteens and yet he is mixing it with the seniors, Chris.

:21:05. > :21:08.That's right. He won the U16s on Friday. Actually he has had a virus

:21:09. > :21:14.and been poorly for a couple of weeks. So they were absolutely

:21:15. > :21:29.thrilled with his performance. Here is Jamie Lewis, from Woking

:21:30. > :21:39.Gymnastics Club. Nice start. Double Arabian, much better on the landing

:21:40. > :21:42.there. Into the flour work. Like we see on the pommel horse. Nicely up

:21:43. > :21:52.into the hands stand. Transitions back down into the flare. Nice work.

:21:53. > :21:57.Come on, young man. Wide arm lift to handstand. Must hold for two

:21:58. > :22:17.Full twist. Slight adjustment. A little bit deep on the landing.

:22:18. > :22:24.There is the 2.5. Punch front half. There is the buzzer for the final

:22:25. > :22:31.tumble. Glued to the floor! What a performance! I will tell you what,

:22:32. > :22:39.Chris, can I just remind everybody, this lad is 15 years old! What an

:22:40. > :22:44.incredible floor routine. Absolutely great. He is likely to be part of

:22:45. > :22:48.the British team which competes for the junior European Championships.

:22:49. > :22:54.They have been unbeaten in the last two years, and if this is the next

:22:55. > :22:57.generation, they have got every reason to be confident of doing well

:22:58. > :23:01.again. Jamie Lewis is generally thought of as a bit of a pommel

:23:02. > :23:09.specialist. His floor routine is full of the flour of the pommel

:23:10. > :23:14.horse as well. What an exciting prospect. Huge congratulations from

:23:15. > :23:30.Dan Purvis there. We continue that Amy Tinkler scored 12.975. The next

:23:31. > :23:34.gymnast to go, in the women's bars final, Georgina may Fenton. From

:23:35. > :23:40.115-year-old to another, Chris. One of the youngest gymnasts in the

:23:41. > :23:46.women's competition. She is and she is in the national squad, just moved

:23:47. > :23:50.up. First-year senior, from East London Gymnastics Club. You can see

:23:51. > :23:56.her with her coach, Lorraine Atkinson. She has got some very

:23:57. > :24:00.exciting work. This is her piece. She is a bar specialist. Yesterday's

:24:01. > :24:05.she tried a very ambitious routine and had a fall but still made the

:24:06. > :24:09.final. Will she go for this routine, is that the plan? I don't know, we

:24:10. > :24:17.will see. She has got a brave coach, it probably will be! At 15, why not

:24:18. > :24:21.try it? Because this is what it is all about, the exposure. We talked

:24:22. > :24:26.about 6000 people being here. The experience is vital for gymnasts of

:24:27. > :24:36.this age. It is, and this is the Olympic trial. There is no place for

:24:37. > :24:40.being safe. Tkatchev, mixed grip, and that was the element which came

:24:41. > :24:46.to grief yesterday's. But you can see two huge elements combined. The

:24:47. > :24:50.Tkatchev, mixed grip, down to the low bar, the same combination which

:24:51. > :24:56.Beth Tweddle used. Think you could quite believe that, Craig? Cannot

:24:57. > :25:03.believe something so spectacular for somebody so young. So, she has got

:25:04. > :25:14.to continue with confidence. Up to the high bar. And last night this

:25:15. > :25:16.was a success. But, that is a she shame. She performed that

:25:17. > :25:22.beautifully. Very difficult combination. She is a little bit

:25:23. > :25:33.rattled now. It is very ambitious work. I am sure her coach will be

:25:34. > :25:40.definitely thinking about World Championships after Rio. But she

:25:41. > :25:46.mistimed... The timing of coming to the bar is so precise. She just came

:25:47. > :25:50.in a bit too late then. She will want to just finish off now

:25:51. > :25:55.securely, make a decent dismount. She does. Full twisting double back.

:25:56. > :26:01.I am sure you can see the potential. Well, absolutely. It is always going

:26:02. > :26:13.to be that difficult conundrum between difficulty and execution.

:26:14. > :26:18.How risky do you go? Well, this was very risky. The half-turn, and then

:26:19. > :26:24.she releases, trying to re-catch the lower bar. But she held onto long

:26:25. > :26:27.and pull herself back towards the high bar. But the rest of the

:26:28. > :26:31.routine, the catches and the potential of the routine, as you can

:26:32. > :26:41.see, if she can hit this routine, she will get a big score. Very

:26:42. > :26:50.confident dismount. These difficult dismounts, they make them look so

:26:51. > :26:56.easy. Jamie Lewis's score is in. 14.1 75. He is in the lead at the

:26:57. > :27:04.moment. With six more gymnasts to go. The next one being Reiss

:27:05. > :27:14.Beckford. 24 years old. Looking for a place at the Olympics, competing

:27:15. > :27:24.for Jamaica. Trains with South Essex Gymnastics Club. Unfortunately down

:27:25. > :27:35.on the first tumble. That is a lot better. Straight front, into the

:27:36. > :27:46.double twist. Nice in the roll-out down to the floor. That is the

:27:47. > :27:50.Russian circle. Just needs to relax into the routine, slow it down. That

:27:51. > :27:56.is much better. Two seconds in the handstand. Takes a breath. Composing

:27:57. > :28:10.himself. Nice with the two-and-a-half. This

:28:11. > :28:16.will be the final pass. Needs to keep his head up. Nice double

:28:17. > :28:22.Arabian to finished! Solid finish. A little bit shaky at the start there,

:28:23. > :28:25.Reiss Beckford. Such a shame for him at the beginning, Chris, but it is

:28:26. > :28:30.an interesting time in the year, because you want to be peaking for

:28:31. > :28:37.the Olympics. For him, selection is not a big deal here. No, that is a

:28:38. > :28:40.very ambitious tumble. Reiss Beckford is a beautiful gymnast,

:28:41. > :28:47.always classy, but quite often makes little errors. Often gymnasts who

:28:48. > :28:52.are so precise, it is just a tiny bit wrong, and they can write that

:28:53. > :28:56.was the finish. If he is not fighting for selection here, then he

:28:57. > :29:06.is really looking to peak in August for the Olympics. -- and that was a

:29:07. > :29:21.super finish. Next, Kelly Simm, 20 years old. She

:29:22. > :29:26.was helping us out with the coverage at Glasgow. Nice to see her back

:29:27. > :29:30.competing. And part of the team which took the medal at the World

:29:31. > :29:39.Championships. Lovely pirouette. Straight down to the low bar again.

:29:40. > :29:43.And again, a lovely transfer, very nicely into the half-turn. Big

:29:44. > :29:50.Tkatchev. Really packing the difficulty in. Considering she is

:29:51. > :29:58.only just back to full training, this is excellent work. Very clean

:29:59. > :30:02.on the turn. Just a simple, quiet dismount. Only just back to full

:30:03. > :30:10.fitness, and was a good start to her year. Well, she is yet to medal on

:30:11. > :30:21.bars, so maybe this could be her year.

:30:22. > :30:33.With her coach Debbie Richardson, from Dymano School Of Gymnastics.

:30:34. > :30:37.Very precise, we have seen a few gymnasts struggling to get to grips

:30:38. > :30:43.with the bar. And you can see a very controlled dismount. Obviously not

:30:44. > :30:53.fully recovered from that injury. But very precise.

:30:54. > :31:02.Reiss has scored 13.2 for his floor exercise.

:31:03. > :31:09.Hamish Carter now. A late replacement for Kristian Thomas. He

:31:10. > :31:18.hurt his ankle in the vault final earlier on. So Hamish here. 17

:31:19. > :31:22.years' old. Nice to see another one of the young ones in the final. A

:31:23. > :31:28.real opportunity now. A nice strong two-and-a-half. First tumble. A big

:31:29. > :31:35.skill for a 17-year-old. Working backward. Two-and-a-half, tuck,

:31:36. > :31:42.front full. Very precise. Very precise with the landings. The odd

:31:43. > :31:48.one here and there, that will make a big difference. An interesting side

:31:49. > :31:56.somersault. Settles in. There is the wide arm handstand. Must fix. Arms

:31:57. > :32:14.maybe a little wider. Going well so far. Whip double twist. Much better.

:32:15. > :32:19.Attacks the floor. Double twist between. Tuck front half. Trying to

:32:20. > :32:28.build the difficulty, combining the somersaults. The final pass. Stands

:32:29. > :32:31.up for the triple twist. A great effort there for our reserve. I tell

:32:32. > :32:37.you what, considering he wasn't expecting to be in the final and he

:32:38. > :32:41.had to warm-up quite quickly, very, very good and very polished

:32:42. > :32:45.performance from Hamish Carter. 17. He did get himself a silver at the

:32:46. > :32:51.European Youth Olympics. You can understand why, Christ. Yes, floor

:32:52. > :32:57.-- Chris. Yes, floor, silver, he was part of

:32:58. > :33:01.the youth team that won at the European Olympics. From the City of

:33:02. > :33:08.Birmingham. A polished performer, Hamish Carter. Kelly Simm waiting

:33:09. > :33:25.for her score, there it is, 13.2. Ruby Harrold from the Academy next

:33:26. > :33:34.to go. Commonwealth bronze medallist. Three times world bars

:33:35. > :33:43.finalist. She has a 6-5 difficulty. A brand new routine. Very ambitious.

:33:44. > :33:46.Watch carefully. The Tkachev, catch and turn down to the low Ruby

:33:47. > :33:50.Harrold low bar. That was all new. Now even more difficult with the old

:33:51. > :33:54.stuff on the front. Nice shoot down to hand stand. Needs a good strong

:33:55. > :33:59.pirouette here. Does it. Straight back up to the high bar. Still got

:34:00. > :34:05.her release, her forward element to come. Toe on the half turn, very

:34:06. > :34:11.good, into the Jaegar somersault. This is a big, strong challenge

:34:12. > :34:18.here. Needs a good dismount. Fault. Oh, she saved it. What is great

:34:19. > :34:22.heart. Ruby will fight to the end. A great save on the dismount. I have

:34:23. > :34:25.to comment on the form through the routine, Craig, I thought it was

:34:26. > :34:29.wonderful. A brilliant routine. To come out after a few people have

:34:30. > :34:32.made a few mistakes, a few nerves out there and the pressure of

:34:33. > :34:35.knowing this is potentially a spot on the Olympic team but such

:34:36. > :34:42.interesting work there. The full twist down on to the bottom bar.

:34:43. > :34:45.That is a really difficult move there and then to transition up into

:34:46. > :34:51.the old routine, adds that together, holds on. Maybe a little bit too

:34:52. > :34:54.soon on the double front. Underro tated but on another day she would

:34:55. > :35:00.have sat down. Great fight right to the end Yes, a long routine now. She

:35:01. > :35:05.has put the add on, on the front and tired by the dismount. Hamish Carter

:35:06. > :35:08.scores 14.6 for his floor exercise. Very difficult dismounts to land

:35:09. > :35:11.because they are blind, you can't spot the ground as they are coming

:35:12. > :35:15.forward Absolutely. Very difficult indeed. All these gymnasts are

:35:16. > :35:19.fighting for this Olympic spot. Now Ruby yesterday fell on that routine.

:35:20. > :35:23.She would have been desperate to prove to the national coaches that

:35:24. > :35:27.she can do the job for the team, that she's the girl to produce the

:35:28. > :35:33.big bar routine. And she certainly give them a lot to think about

:35:34. > :35:38.there. Well, no doubt she will go into the lead with that performance

:35:39. > :35:44.and Hamish Carter is currently leading the men's floor final but

:35:45. > :35:48.for how long? We have a bit of a warm-up session going on, as we have

:35:49. > :35:53.half way through the finals. It means the gymnasts don't get too

:35:54. > :35:59.cold. Becky Downie as well, just warming up. The former European

:36:00. > :36:03.champion on this piece looking relaxed She performed well

:36:04. > :36:13.yesterday. Like everybody else, she's under pressure to win her

:36:14. > :36:17.place. There is the current leader, 14.175 confirms T Ruby Harrold from

:36:18. > :36:29.The Academy. Beats Kelly Simm. Well that was a mark up on her

:36:30. > :36:32.qualification, so she will definitely be happy with that

:36:33. > :36:36.improvement. It is all about consistency. The coaches and the

:36:37. > :36:40.selectors are look for the gymnast that can plan out routine after

:36:41. > :36:44.routine, under pressure. You can't be heading off to an Olympic Games

:36:45. > :36:48.thinking - is this person going to get through the routine? It has to

:36:49. > :36:54.be consistent performance, Christine. It most certainly has but

:36:55. > :36:59.we are still a bit of a way off to the Olympics, so it is a bit of a

:37:00. > :37:04.juggle. You don't - you know you have to put your new work out there

:37:05. > :37:08.to give yourself a chance and it is bound not to be quite as perfect as

:37:09. > :37:12.if you just went for tried and tested routines but there are only

:37:13. > :37:17.five spots you know in the Olympics. One less than last year, so it is a

:37:18. > :37:21.big fight. It is, I mean listen when you look at the women's and men's

:37:22. > :37:25.side, the pressure is on all around. This guy, Max Whitlock he is a

:37:26. > :37:27.shoe-in for a place, no doubt about that. Potentially three medals in

:37:28. > :37:32.his sights. Looking notch lant because he is still in the warm-up

:37:33. > :37:36.stage. He will be last to go in the floor final. Three, I have come up

:37:37. > :37:41.with four, individual, team, pommel and floor, four. Or am I getting

:37:42. > :37:47.carried away with myself with the excitement of the atmosphere in

:37:48. > :37:50.here? No, you are right. Well we have Dominick Cunningham now in the

:37:51. > :37:54.men's floor. Don't worry about the warm-up, this is actually happening,

:37:55. > :37:59.this is a true competition now and this lad has an enormous amount of

:38:00. > :38:04.spring in his step. He is a joy to watch. If he hits, he could well

:38:05. > :38:08.medal here. Well, this is something special. A two-and-a-half twist. It

:38:09. > :38:13.should be into a tuck front full twist. Recovered well. That move

:38:14. > :38:17.would be his move. It has never been done before. That's how difficult it

:38:18. > :38:23.is. But a good twister. Struggling a little bit today. He just needs to

:38:24. > :38:31.calm himself into the routine. One-and-a-half double twist. Another

:38:32. > :38:37.adjustment on the landing. The problem with the difficult routines

:38:38. > :38:47.is, there is more margin and room for error, so you have to be really

:38:48. > :38:57.switched on. Double Arabian, half out. What I like about this routine,

:38:58. > :38:59.it has a bit of everything. Single somersaults with twists double

:39:00. > :39:03.somersaults with twists. It is a very balanced routine. There is the

:39:04. > :39:08.roll-out. Really exciting to watch. I think a huge talent for the

:39:09. > :39:17.future. And the triple twist to finish. There were errors today.

:39:18. > :39:22.Yes, but goodness me, 20, talk about moves and skills in his locker,

:39:23. > :39:26.Chris. Absolutely. He did a different second tumble today to

:39:27. > :39:29.what he did last night. He did a two-and-a-half immediate double

:39:30. > :39:33.front somersault. That was the opening tumble. The double back with

:39:34. > :39:37.one-and-a-half twists, immediate punch front. I think we might be

:39:38. > :39:42.seeing here - well, this is the triple at the finish. He is very,

:39:43. > :39:47.very skilful. Very skilful. He's almost got the problem of so much in

:39:48. > :39:50.his repertoire that it is a difficult choice and he's very

:39:51. > :39:56.tempted, often, to switch things around. He needs to gain a bit of

:39:57. > :40:00.consistency. Well all at the City of Birmingham Gymnastics Club will be

:40:01. > :40:06.cheering him on. So now we are over to the women's bars. Ruby Harrold

:40:07. > :40:12.leads the way with a score of 14.175 but here we go with Becky Downie,

:40:13. > :40:18.former European Champion, current European silver medallist. This such

:40:19. > :40:23.an important routine for her, with her bid for a place in Rio.

:40:24. > :40:30.Only competes on two apparatus. Beam and bars. So they have to be

:40:31. > :40:36.exceptional. Lovely, smooth start. Just watch all this. Swings so

:40:37. > :40:40.cleanly, into the pike. Tkachev, very, very difficult. She is really

:40:41. > :40:49.going for a big routine today. Full pirouette. Immediate straddle pike

:40:50. > :40:53.Tkachev down to the low bar. Up. She's going for another one, another

:40:54. > :41:01.big release. She really went for broke today. Right - that is very

:41:02. > :41:05.difficult in the middle, let alone do it after eight moves. It is such

:41:06. > :41:10.a power move. She went for it and it... What went wrong? She didn't

:41:11. > :41:14.quite have enough swing. You are generating your swing from the catch

:41:15. > :41:18.and swinging back to give yourself the power to goefrt the high power.

:41:19. > :41:24.She didn't quite have enough power there. It takes such a lot of

:41:25. > :41:30.strength and fantastic timing. Needs to just calmly finish now. Try and

:41:31. > :41:36.swing, full twisting double back She really went for broke today. She did

:41:37. > :41:41.the same routine for 15.1 yesterday. Today she decided to go for T -- the

:41:42. > :41:45.safe routine. Well when you have the selectors working closely and says -

:41:46. > :41:50.give me more time in the gym and I will get that. Enough, Craig, do you

:41:51. > :41:53.think? I think so. Before the fall I was just thinking how improved the

:41:54. > :41:57.routine looks. She's obviously worked a bit on her form. Look at

:41:58. > :42:02.the execution. Really pointing and extending her toes, as you can see.

:42:03. > :42:05.Up, over and I think, like Christine said shee, didn't have enough

:42:06. > :42:09.momentum back, all the weight is down on your hands. You are only

:42:10. > :42:12.going to go one way to the floor but actually, early in the season I

:42:13. > :42:16.think it was a really impressive routine. It is, a very impressive

:42:17. > :42:22.routine. If she wants to be selected, she has got to go with the

:42:23. > :42:25.ambition of an Olympic medal. Certainly an Olympic final you don't

:42:26. > :42:31.take specialists unless they are going for that. She knows she has to

:42:32. > :42:37.say to the selectors, give me one of those five place, I might only work

:42:38. > :42:45.two pieces but I will get you a medal. Dominick Cunningham is in

:42:46. > :42:49.fourth. We were awed by the difficulty but the execution wasn't

:42:50. > :42:53.enough. So Jack Neill, some of the young gymnasts leading at the

:42:54. > :42:59.moment. Here we go now with Sam Oldham. A

:43:00. > :43:03.very talented gymnast. Lots of experience. A really confident roll

:43:04. > :43:08.out for the first tumble. Settles in nicely. There you go,

:43:09. > :43:14.two-and-a-half, one na. . -- one-and-a-half. You can see the

:43:15. > :43:17.difference in the experience between the older gymnasts and younger ones.

:43:18. > :43:21.Double front. Difficult to land because it is a blind opening for

:43:22. > :43:24.the landing. You need to try to spot something within the arena.

:43:25. > :43:38.Two-and-a-half, tuck front, full. Sam Oldham a very stylish gymnast

:43:39. > :43:43.there. Is the flair work up into hand stand. Transitions back down.

:43:44. > :43:50.Originalality there with break dancing. Needs to control for the

:43:51. > :43:57.lift to handstand. A little bit to the head to signify I'm in control.

:43:58. > :44:01.Here is the final tumble. Can he stand this up and stick it? Whip

:44:02. > :44:05.half, double twist. A light adjustment on landing. Very solid

:44:06. > :44:13.routine. I think we might have a new leader on the floor exercise. Well,

:44:14. > :44:17.yes, the score to beat, 14.6, Sam scored 15.15 in qualification with a

:44:18. > :44:23.6-2 difficulty. Great to see him back to this form. He was out for a

:44:24. > :44:26.while with injury. Yes, we saw him can he Commonwealth Games damage an

:44:27. > :44:30.ankle badly. It has taken a long time. You can still see when you

:44:31. > :44:33.landed there, he took more weight through one foot than the other.

:44:34. > :44:41.It's take been a long time to come back from but he looked very

:44:42. > :44:46.confident there. Rebecca Downie goes into the lead with 14.425. So she is

:44:47. > :44:51.renow ahead of Ruby Harrold and Kelly Simm hangs on for bronze.

:44:52. > :44:57.Could this be the first bronze for Kelly Simm?

:44:58. > :45:05.Two more gymnasts to go, then, Claudia Fragapane, the bronze on

:45:06. > :45:09.bars last year. The all-around champion yesterday. She was

:45:10. > :45:13.sensational in the all-around competition yesterday. She's so

:45:14. > :45:22.tiny, to make that flight from low bar to high bar. Nice control on the

:45:23. > :45:26.half turn and another half. Super height Jaegar somersault. This is

:45:27. > :45:30.the new element. Oh, she didn't give it enough lift off the bar. Tucked

:45:31. > :45:35.the knees up. She made that really well yesterday. It was her first

:45:36. > :45:38.piece and it set her up for a great competition. But, you know, the

:45:39. > :45:48.highs of one day are sometimes the lows of the next.

:45:49. > :45:56.She goes down to the low bar, half-turn... It is a tricky routine,

:45:57. > :46:00.this, a lot of turns in it. But watch this - she goes full

:46:01. > :46:06.pirouette, immediately... Oh, she didn't today. But the giant in, two

:46:07. > :46:15.giants, in fact. Yesterday's she did the full pirouette. To be fair, I

:46:16. > :46:21.think she came here for all-round, anyway. Oh, yes, she certainly did.

:46:22. > :46:25.But she will have wanted to have done this well today. That was

:46:26. > :46:31.similar to what we saw in the World Cup. It was almost like, I have

:46:32. > :46:44.realised I have missed the bar, I'm going to bend my legs to get over.

:46:45. > :46:49.She needs 13 point two for a medal at the moment. Sam Oldham goes into

:46:50. > :46:54.the lead with a score of 15. Hamish Carter drops down into second. Jamie

:46:55. > :47:04.Lewis hangs onto bronze at the moment. Speaking of bronze medals,

:47:05. > :47:07.twice European bronze medallist next up on floor, Dan Purvis, 25 years

:47:08. > :47:14.old. Such a stalwart of the British team. He is looking fit. He sure is,

:47:15. > :47:22.looks in great form. Solid, powerful, double twisting double

:47:23. > :47:28.back for an opener. One-and-a-half double twist. The way that he can

:47:29. > :47:36.control the floor on the landings. Double front - and nailed. This is

:47:37. > :47:44.the Dan Purvis that we remember. Stands up, slight adjustment

:47:45. > :47:51.required there. Lifting up into the wider arm handstand. Gives the

:47:52. > :48:01.gymnast a second to catch their breath. Because they need it. Needs

:48:02. > :48:09.to stay sharp in the roll-out. Are very well controlled. Slight puff of

:48:10. > :48:20.the cheeks. There is the noise. Final tumble. Double Arabian! And to

:48:21. > :48:24.the floor! What a performance! I tell you what, that is going to be

:48:25. > :48:28.tough even for Max to beat. It not give a lot away there, Chris. No-one

:48:29. > :48:34.can land quite as well as Dan Purvis. That is such a hard final

:48:35. > :48:37.tumble, the whip in two double Arabian. He just knows where the

:48:38. > :48:47.floor is exactly. Really showing his experience. Opening with double

:48:48. > :48:52.twisting double back. If only the Europeans were next week, Chris! He

:48:53. > :48:59.will be looking forward to the Europeans. He did so well. He was a

:49:00. > :49:04.bit leaning back. But was outstanding, I cannot wait to see

:49:05. > :49:11.the score on that. So, Fragapane, then, fifth. So Rebecca Downie

:49:12. > :49:25.hands-on. Kelly Simm in third. Amy Tinkler in fourth. -- hangs on.

:49:26. > :49:31.So, Rebecca will be the next gymnast, British champion back in

:49:32. > :49:40.2014. Second in the all-round yesterday's. I was talking to Beth

:49:41. > :49:45.about her yesterday and what a performance it was for her to come

:49:46. > :49:53.back with. She knows she can win this today. Superlight on bars. Big,

:49:54. > :49:58.fast turn. High Jaeger somersault. Good secure catch. This is the

:49:59. > :50:04.difficult combination, the pike to Tkatchev. The full turn. Lovely,

:50:05. > :50:16.legs locked together. Opta The Hive Barragan, and down. -- up to the

:50:17. > :50:20.high bar again. Such a difficult combination - and it just did not

:50:21. > :50:25.pay off. These gymnasts really looking to build the difficulty so

:50:26. > :50:28.that Great Britain can go to the Olympics with a good chance of a

:50:29. > :50:33.team medal. And I think they can. I think the biggest chance for the

:50:34. > :50:38.women is a team metal. That's why they are trying these difficult

:50:39. > :50:42.routines now, so that by the time August comes, they will be

:50:43. > :50:46.perfected. And that is quite a long time in the world of gymnastics. It

:50:47. > :50:52.is indeed. Straight into the full twisting double back. A shame, she

:50:53. > :50:57.could have taken the easy way out. She went for the difficult

:50:58. > :50:59.combination. And wow! Both her and Rebecca Downie have gone for broke

:51:00. > :51:09.today. CRAIG HEAP: I might have just gone,

:51:10. > :51:14.I might just do the easier routine, because she has been out of the game

:51:15. > :51:18.for a couple of years. To take the title would go well with the

:51:19. > :51:22.selectors. So it is quite an interesting dynamic. But does that

:51:23. > :51:26.not say about the mentality of the British team at the moment, and is

:51:27. > :51:33.that what has been missing for a while, I don't know? Well, certainly

:51:34. > :51:39.they do not want to hold safe. Dan Purvis leads the field ahead of Sam

:51:40. > :51:49.Oldham and Hamish Carter. And that is a big score, isn't it? It was

:51:50. > :51:54.indeed. The last gymnast to go in this men's floor final is world

:51:55. > :52:00.silver medallist and Commonwealth champion, former European champion

:52:01. > :52:06.Max Whitlock full. Prepare to be impressed. Strong start, straight

:52:07. > :52:14.into the two-and-a-half. A very businesslike performance now from

:52:15. > :52:22.Max. That is the three-and-a-half. Into the tuck front half. Settling

:52:23. > :52:32.down into the flat work. A little bit of originality there. Can just

:52:33. > :52:45.settle in. That is the best wide arm handstand we have seen so far.

:52:46. > :52:55.Two-and-a-half, nice. Spot the floor, twists, so easily. Good

:52:56. > :53:05.control in the roll-out. Final tumble. It is usually a triple. And

:53:06. > :53:10.it is today! Pinpoint accuracy on the final tumble from our current

:53:11. > :53:13.British champion! Well, he contained the energy by the end of it, but

:53:14. > :53:18.that could be a very, very costly tumble. Did he land completely

:53:19. > :53:22.outside of the area, Chris? Yes, I believe he did. He did not actually

:53:23. > :53:30.step so he will not get any more Marks taken off, but he will lose up

:53:31. > :53:33.to about 0.3 or so for landing out. So it is going to be a very

:53:34. > :53:39.interesting score here. He has probably got enough in hand through

:53:40. > :53:43.the difficulty. Judging by last night, 16.5 he posted in the

:53:44. > :53:47.all-round competition. Still, Dan Purvis, 15 point four to score at

:53:48. > :54:23.the moment. So, the last gymnast in this women's

:54:24. > :54:28.final, from the Sapphire Gymnastics Club in him or her instead. She has

:54:29. > :54:31.suffered from injuries over the last couple of years but has really

:54:32. > :54:47.worked on the bars. Lovely technique and style. Down to the low bar. Nice

:54:48. > :54:53.full pirouette, into the Shaposhnikova. Just needs a big

:54:54. > :55:00.dismount. Feet up high, lovely double straight. That was a fabulous

:55:01. > :55:06.bar routine. It certainly was, under that pressure there. A few falls and

:55:07. > :55:12.a real opportunity to take the title. Dealing with those nerves.

:55:13. > :55:16.Great catch and back down. The judges will look if the gymnast is

:55:17. > :55:27.too close to the barge off they will look at the execution. Nice in the

:55:28. > :55:40.handstand, up to the top barge -- to the top bar. Beautiful landing.

:55:41. > :55:44.Super stuff. Worth more than 14.425, Chris? I think it is going to be

:55:45. > :55:52.very tight. It was beautifully performed. There you go, Max

:55:53. > :56:02.Whitlock, he takes the title, here in the Men's Masters. Ahead of Dan

:56:03. > :56:11.Purvis, who takes silver. Sam Oldham gets the bronze. It was a tight

:56:12. > :56:23.fight, though. Wasn't it just?! This is going to be tight as well. She

:56:24. > :56:26.performed very well, Gabby Jupp. I think she got a combination of

:56:27. > :56:32.little bit tighter. She has done enough! A career with so many

:56:33. > :56:41.injuries and is axed, and here she is, Rajesh bars champion. Well done,

:56:42. > :56:52.Gabby Jupp! -- British. Everybody in gymnastics will be thrilled.

:56:53. > :56:57.So, there is confirmation that Gabrielle Jupp is British champion

:56:58. > :57:21.on the uneven bars. And we will have confirmation of the

:57:22. > :57:26.men's floor final for you very shortly. To more finals to come

:57:27. > :57:30.live. We will have the women's floor and the men's pommel horse as well.

:57:31. > :57:35.And what a hotly contested competition that is a going to be.

:57:36. > :57:39.Before that, Max can enjoy his gold on floor. Will he get a gold on

:57:40. > :57:44.pommel horse as well? We will find out a little bit later one. Dan

:57:45. > :57:57.Purvis gets the silver medal. And Sam Oldham takes bronze, for the

:57:58. > :57:59.Loughborough Gymnastics Club. Now, here is what happens in the junior

:58:00. > :58:04.events. The best of Britain's youngsters

:58:05. > :58:13.were battling it out on Friday here in Liverpool. The women's junior

:58:14. > :58:20.title went to Maisie Methuen. How does it feel? It feels amazing. I

:58:21. > :58:27.never expected it. But when I went out there, it paid off. It was

:58:28. > :58:31.really good. What do you hope to do in the future in gymnastics? I hope

:58:32. > :58:35.to get into the European team this year. And then hopefully the

:58:36. > :58:49.Commonwealths and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

:58:50. > :58:58.The bronze went to Ellesse Oates. The silver went to Taeja James. For

:58:59. > :59:03.the men's, Jamie Lewis won the gold in the U16s. And it all came down to

:59:04. > :59:06.his strongest and final apparatus, the pommel horse. Congratulations,

:59:07. > :59:13.how does it feel to be British champion? It feels very good.

:59:14. > :59:18.Because I was sick two weeks before the competition which set me back a

:59:19. > :59:25.lot. I am very surprised that I came out on top. Donell Osbourne from the

:59:26. > :59:32.city of Birmingham ran Jamie close, finishing just behind, to take the

:59:33. > :59:38.silver medal. Huntingdon's Yaman took the bronze. In the U-18s, it

:59:39. > :59:42.was gold for Joe Fraser. He fell on the high bar, which could have been

:59:43. > :59:48.costly, but with good scores already in the bag, he topped the standings.

:59:49. > :59:52.British champion, how does it feel? It is unreal, to be honest. I have

:59:53. > :59:58.put so much training into this, me and my coach. To come away with

:59:59. > :00:03.three golds and two Silvers, it has made it all worth it. The last

:00:04. > :00:08.apparatus, the high bar, you fell off, so how nervous were waiting to

:00:09. > :00:13.see if you had one gold? I was very nervous, to be honest. I know that

:00:14. > :00:18.having an error on a piece of operators can cost me the gold. Last

:00:19. > :00:26.year's winner had to fight back from a fall on his floor routine to take

:00:27. > :00:32.silver, but Giarnni Regini-Moran was able to do that. And luckily rounded

:00:33. > :00:38.off a good day for the City Of Birmingham Gymnastics Club.

:00:39. > :00:43.It goes to show what strength and depth there is in the British team

:00:44. > :00:47.at the moment. You know, Dan, more than most, you watch the gymnasts

:00:48. > :00:50.coming through and even in the Masters there, the youngest gymnasts

:00:51. > :00:55.mixing it with the best of the seniors. That's one of the best

:00:56. > :01:00.things in the Masters. We can get some of the junior boys to show what

:01:01. > :01:03.they are capable of, coming through the rapgs, against the best guys. --

:01:04. > :01:07.coming through the ranks. When you are in the gym, what is the

:01:08. > :01:11.difference between honing a gymnast like that at that age and putting

:01:12. > :01:16.them up in the world stage and giving them a place in the this

:01:17. > :01:20.men's team? How does it work? What is the trands igs? In the junior

:01:21. > :01:25.code there is eight elements, in the senior code there are ten. A big

:01:26. > :01:29.jump. The guys who are 16 and 17 looking to make the jump in the next

:01:30. > :01:32.couple of years are coming here and trying to do the ten element

:01:33. > :01:35.routines which requires more fitness but you saw it today they have

:01:36. > :01:38.prepared well and are looking good. How impressed were you with the

:01:39. > :01:42.younger gymnasts in the floor final? Unbelievable. They are scoring

:01:43. > :01:47.scores like they were scoring one or two years ago. You know, it

:01:48. > :01:51.defendant nitly looks like we will have a bright future. -- definitely

:01:52. > :01:55.looks. We'll enjoy some more moments from the finals we have just seen

:01:56. > :02:01.with the women's bars and the floor. Let's look at the first we are going

:02:02. > :02:06.to see. There we go, a bit of Sam Oldham first of all. Great to see

:02:07. > :02:10.Sam back. Such a stylish gymnast to watch. I think that's really

:02:11. > :02:15.important. The judges will like that and to be back in here in this sort

:02:16. > :02:19.of arena, competing. He is really pushing for a place for the team.

:02:20. > :02:22.Remember he was part of the team that won that first-ever bronze

:02:23. > :02:26.medal. Here is a kid, he is struggling. He is fighting for his

:02:27. > :02:33.place. Absolutely. So, difficult for him but also good for us as a nation

:02:34. > :02:35.of gymnastics and like Dan was saying, there are youngsters taking

:02:36. > :02:40.the opportunity to really just get stuck in and think about the

:02:41. > :02:45.motivation, as a gymnast. You spend a lot of time in the gym. What

:02:46. > :02:49.affect of going into that floor final, knowing you have been rubbing

:02:50. > :02:53.shoulders with the likes of Dan Purvis and Max Whitlock, you go back

:02:54. > :02:56.it the gym thinking - I can have some of this. I think the experience

:02:57. > :03:00.you cannot underestimate for these young gymnasts. We have to have a

:03:01. > :03:03.word on Dan Purvis. He did the all-around competition yesterday. He

:03:04. > :03:07.is looking sharp. Looking so fit at the moment. And his landings. He is

:03:08. > :03:12.looking on top form at the moment. He has been building. He is fit.

:03:13. > :03:17.Obviously he scored 89 yesterday and today he has been going clean. What

:03:18. > :03:22.a floor routine he put N I'm happy for him. He was one of my closest

:03:23. > :03:28.mates. -- he put in. I'm happy to see him performing at the highest

:03:29. > :03:30.level. And Max Whitlock, uncharacteristicically landing

:03:31. > :03:36.outside the area, everyone was - hang on a minute, what is that? He

:03:37. > :03:40.just lent a little bit too far back. Also, we have to imagine when you

:03:41. > :03:43.are starting a routine and that adrenaline has kicked in, we are

:03:44. > :03:47.human beings at the end of the day, we are not robots and with all that

:03:48. > :03:52.adrenaline in the first tumble, he has just overcooked it a bit but the

:03:53. > :03:56.really smart thing is, he spotted the floor, so he took no landing

:03:57. > :04:01.faults. The fact he was outside the floor when you have such a difficult

:04:02. > :04:05.routine and you can still score 15.5. It is good to have in the

:04:06. > :04:09.locker, knowing you can make a mistake. And lean looking at the

:04:10. > :04:14.bars, as far as the women are concerned, gymnasts coming out and

:04:15. > :04:20.really pushing it. Really trying. There is an interesting atmosphere.

:04:21. > :04:25.Normally there is an air of tent tentativeness when you go to the --

:04:26. > :04:30.an air of tentativeness when you look to the European station but

:04:31. > :04:34.here we have Gabby Jupp just proving that. A really nice routine. Great

:04:35. > :04:37.to see her back. There is a big amount of pressure here. Everyone

:04:38. > :04:41.fighting for their spot to get on to the team. It is amazing at a British

:04:42. > :04:44.Championships we have managed to pull in this amount of people in the

:04:45. > :04:49.crowd T feels like a World Championship, which is amazing. --

:04:50. > :04:53.it feels like. It is so good it see what the gymnasts are doing. And

:04:54. > :04:58.look at that. What a way to finish. There you have the British champion.

:04:59. > :05:02.Such success at junior level. Injury through knees and here she is

:05:03. > :05:07.deserved of a place. This is the thing, as far as the selectors are

:05:08. > :05:10.concerned, where do you go? Well, somebody who hopes that they are

:05:11. > :05:15.very much on the radar is Louis Smith, we have to call him MBE now.

:05:16. > :05:22.He will be out shortly to compete against Max Whitlock. So that is one

:05:23. > :05:25.and two from the World final and we have Prashanth Sellathurai here,

:05:26. > :05:29.because we are inviting guests. He is a gymnast that competes for

:05:30. > :05:33.Australia. He is a long way from home but he is a gymnast as well,

:05:34. > :05:39.you know him very well. He has medaled three or four times at world

:05:40. > :05:44.level. Yes, I mean it is a world standard final here today in the

:05:45. > :05:49.pommel. Lewis and Max with the world medals last year. And Prashanth

:05:50. > :05:54.Sellathurai has a world medal and a few youngsters who can serve and

:05:55. > :05:59.it'll be interesting how they hold their nerve against their idols like

:06:00. > :06:03.Lewis and Max. A lot of people watching would think that Louis

:06:04. > :06:10.Smith is a shoe-in. Well, is he, it is tentative times here he is

:06:11. > :06:13.talking to David. At the World Championships watching you and Max

:06:14. > :06:17.pick up medals but also seeing you compete against each other, how much

:06:18. > :06:22.does that drive you on to be a better gymnast. The dynamics on what

:06:23. > :06:27.motivates me is different to perhaps what I was when I was 19 or 20. It

:06:28. > :06:32.is probably different to what Max is now, he is in his prime. I'm at the

:06:33. > :06:36.back end of my career. Hopefully this will be my third Olympics. I

:06:37. > :06:40.know what I need to do. It is nice to bounce off Max. Hopefully I push

:06:41. > :06:44.him harder than he pushes me. He can deal with it. He is young, put more

:06:45. > :06:48.effort n he is training harder, he is hungry. It is a different

:06:49. > :06:51.dynamic. I'm a very relaxed person now. I haven't come to the British

:06:52. > :06:55.Championships thinking I can win. I have come here with the goal of

:06:56. > :06:58.showing the selectors I'm on my way and we'll see what happens. The

:06:59. > :07:02.Masters you will be competing against younger guys, it is a bit

:07:03. > :07:08.different, especially for the public to see. It is good for the younger

:07:09. > :07:12.ones. It might spur them on to be greater than me and Max five or ten

:07:13. > :07:17.years' down the future. I enjoy mixing with the younger ones. It is

:07:18. > :07:23.an amazing talent in the kids, I'm not going to lie. I have to try and

:07:24. > :07:29.hold my own. I can't be beaten by these younger kids any more.

:07:30. > :07:34.You know Louis very well. Don't you. I mean he seems like he is in a

:07:35. > :07:38.goods place. He has been through a lot, all you gymnasts have, to be

:07:39. > :07:41.fair. Obviously Lewis has been around the longest, competing on an

:07:42. > :07:45.international stage at senior level. He knows how well he has prepared.

:07:46. > :07:51.He will be in great shape. He will be calm. He wants to go out and put

:07:52. > :07:55.in a good performance and try and score in the high 15s and, you know,

:07:56. > :07:59.he knows how best to do that. It is by keeping calm and doing what he

:08:00. > :08:04.does best. How difficult to you think he will go? We have always had

:08:05. > :08:09.this conversations about him with difficulty verses execution. He put

:08:10. > :08:16.up a 6-9 yesterday but rumour has it that Max is going to put up a 7-4. !

:08:17. > :08:20.Haes a a 7-4 in his locker. He has been training it through and going

:08:21. > :08:25.through it pretty much 100% of the time. Do you think he will do it? I

:08:26. > :08:29.think Max will and if Louis it going to challenge that, he will have to

:08:30. > :08:32.up his routine. It'll be interesting to see what he does today. On the

:08:33. > :08:49.note of selection. But Louis, he is a tough gymnast, he

:08:50. > :08:52.only does one piece. I know he only does one piece but touch wood if

:08:53. > :08:55.everything goes right he is a guaranteed medal. Most of the time

:08:56. > :09:00.if everything goes through he picks up a medal on world stage. It is

:09:01. > :09:05.that choice, if you want it take a gymnast to get as many medals as you

:09:06. > :09:09.can in the Olympic Games. The amount of depth we have in the squad, it is

:09:10. > :09:13.a tough selection but that's what is making us so good as a nation. Have

:09:14. > :09:17.you noticed a difference from Max since the won the world title on

:09:18. > :09:22.pommel. He has a real air when he walks into the gym. We have known

:09:23. > :09:27.for years how good Max was on pople. It was - when was he going to do it?

:09:28. > :09:31.Now he has done it, it has almost given him more confidence. When he

:09:32. > :09:35.goes into training now, it seems like he is never, ever going to fall

:09:36. > :09:39.off, an amazing thing to see, and obviously it is really good for the

:09:40. > :09:43.team. And we have Brinn Bevan in this final as well. He had a really

:09:44. > :09:45.bad injury. He was part of the silver-medal-winning team at the

:09:46. > :09:48.worlds. He had a real injury. We thought it was career-changing

:09:49. > :09:53.really. Yet he will have spent a lot of time on this piece no doubt while

:09:54. > :09:59.he was rehabbing that leg. What is it about pommel horse that Great

:10:00. > :10:02.Britain are so good at? I think it's obviously starting with Louis, from

:10:03. > :10:07.when we were younger picking up medals and myself, we were training

:10:08. > :10:12.in the same gym and Max has followed in our foot Steves. I think it is

:10:13. > :10:15.belief. You look at the Germans, they are good at high bar. The

:10:16. > :10:20.Americans are strong on rings. I think once a nation has a good piece

:10:21. > :10:25.everyone follow in those footsteps and you believe you are one of the

:10:26. > :10:30.best nation on pommel horse. I think that's just what it is. Well the

:10:31. > :10:33.pommel horse will be taking place at the same time as the women's floor.

:10:34. > :10:38.So we'll hand over to commentary now, to Christine Still and to Craig

:10:39. > :10:44.Heap and I'll come and join you very shortly.

:10:45. > :10:50.CHRISTINE STILL: The women's floor looks ready. Gymnasts have 30

:10:51. > :10:53.seconds each to warm up and we can see the first competitor, Claudia

:10:54. > :11:00.Fragapane, winner of the overall British title last night. So she has

:11:01. > :11:08.a lot to go for today. Kelly Simm next, and Rebecca Tunney, Amy

:11:09. > :11:14.Tinkler then three gymnasts, two from The Academy, Abigail Solari and

:11:15. > :11:28.Phoebe Turner and Georgia-Mae Fenton from East London and Ellie Downie

:11:29. > :11:30.from Notts. CRAIG HE AP: Here we have the start-list for the men's

:11:31. > :11:45.pommel horse: Well, these certainly are two finals

:11:46. > :11:57.that are tote little world class. -- totally world class. Each country is

:11:58. > :12:03.only allowed two gymnasts in a an apparatus final.

:12:04. > :12:22.Here we go, watch this opening tumble. Double straight with full

:12:23. > :12:38.twist and she lands it perfectly. Nothing big tumble on the way back.

:12:39. > :12:43.It's new. She does it so well. Double Arabian pike.

:12:44. > :12:52.Of course the floor routine has to have great leaps and spins as well.

:12:53. > :13:10.This is Claudia's series. And a bit of originalality.

:13:11. > :13:17.Builds up to this next big tumble. Super triple twist. A big step back

:13:18. > :13:31.but very clean. So she is' done three tumbles of the

:13:32. > :13:37.most difficult variety. And she's going to attempt to finish with a

:13:38. > :13:45.double straight and she does. What a performance! What ability and

:13:46. > :13:49.stamina. Well, that certainly is her piece. Goodness me, she can't half

:13:50. > :13:55.entertain on floor. What a wonderful performance.

:13:56. > :14:02.She certainly put everything into that routine there. Hugs all around

:14:03. > :14:10.from coaches. I'm not surprised. It was a great performance. Claudia

:14:11. > :14:14.from Bristol Hawkes Gymnastics Club, a very famous club of many

:14:15. > :14:19.successful gymnasts over the years. Look at that double Arabian pike.

:14:20. > :14:24.That's the new tumble. If you just watch, maybe before the landing,

:14:25. > :14:29.bends her legs a little bit. Whether the judges will pick up on that but

:14:30. > :14:33.to have the power to finish on a double straight somersault for the

:14:34. > :14:38.final tumble, I don't think there are many men in the world who finish

:14:39. > :14:42.on a double layout. She has the power and also the originalality, I

:14:43. > :14:50.think that's what makes her so exciting to watch. MATT: SHE GOERED

:14:51. > :14:54.SCORED 15.7 IN YESTERDAY'S ALL-AROUND COMPETITION AND SHE GOT

:14:55. > :15:05.THE TITLE. We will get her score very shortly. -- she scored.

:15:06. > :15:16.This is Brinn Bevan from South Essex. He got a bronze last year on

:15:17. > :15:24.this piece of apparatus at the Europeans. Good to see you back. It

:15:25. > :15:29.sure is. Got a lot to prove, but he has certainly got the credentials.

:15:30. > :15:37.Composing himself before the start. Straight into the handstand. Picks

:15:38. > :15:44.up, into the double leg circles. Slight loss of form there on the one

:15:45. > :15:53.handle. Come on, keep this going. Keep the momentum, into the

:15:54. > :15:58.handstand. Back down. Good work, difficult, the reverse turn, we will

:15:59. > :16:11.see a few of those in this final. Linked into the Magyar. Straight

:16:12. > :16:16.back down. Full pirouette. He is through, and that is the main thing.

:16:17. > :16:24.Just keep the swing going, on the pommel horse, Chris. That's right.

:16:25. > :16:28.He is a great fighter. Like you said earlier, he had a really big injury

:16:29. > :16:32.at the end of the year, but he has come back fighting and strong as

:16:33. > :16:38.ever. Got to keep the body as straight as possible. Keep the hips

:16:39. > :16:53.above the pommel is, above the handles. He is confident and smooth

:16:54. > :16:59.on the dismount. Here we see, adds the pirouette. Flares the arm to

:17:00. > :17:09.show control. Well, that is certainly the benchmark. So, what

:17:10. > :17:21.did Claudia score on the floor? There it is. A little bit down on

:17:22. > :17:26.what she scored yesterday's. There is a few gymnasts who can threaten

:17:27. > :17:34.that score. Kelly Simm is the next gymnast to go. Former English floor

:17:35. > :17:41.champion. Kelly had a hugely busy year last year, winning the world

:17:42. > :17:51.student games, amongst other things. Lovely double straight for quite a

:17:52. > :18:00.deep landing, which the judges will deduct for a little. Simple

:18:01. > :18:13.one-and-a-half, powering into a double back, making it all look

:18:14. > :18:20.easy. Good control on the leaps. The gymnasts have to express their floor

:18:21. > :18:22.routines. Quite a lot of marks given for working with the music and

:18:23. > :18:44.artistry. Spins, leaps, and of course,

:18:45. > :18:45.tumbles. They have to finish with a difficult tumble if they want full

:18:46. > :19:08.marks. And she does. Nice little finish there. Smoothly

:19:09. > :19:14.done by Kelly, not many errors. Yes, unfortunate deep landing on the

:19:15. > :19:16.first layout. And then halfway through, a straight back. So

:19:17. > :19:22.obviously just detecting herself to make sure she does not do any

:19:23. > :19:29.further damage. -- protecting herself. Really powerful arms. Lucky

:19:30. > :19:34.to keep the knees of the floor. The landing will be deducted. It just

:19:35. > :19:38.shows the fight to keep the chest up. Finishing with the double pike.

:19:39. > :19:50.Very clean, nothing wrong with that. Have to get the chest up. Seems to

:19:51. > :19:57.be a great atmosphere with the girls down there. 14.5 four Brinn Bevan.

:19:58. > :19:59.Good lad, great score and what a benchmark to start this men's pommel

:20:00. > :20:19.final. So, the second gymnast to go, Nile

:20:20. > :20:28.Wilson. Qualified in seventh but he was junior European champion on

:20:29. > :20:35.pommel horse back in 2014. Slight hesitation, going up to handstand.

:20:36. > :20:44.That will be deducted. Nice line in the double leg circle. Settling down

:20:45. > :20:52.now. There is the one handle work. The Russian. Down to the end. Come

:20:53. > :20:57.on, keep working! Full spindle. He is having to work at this. Come on,

:20:58. > :21:08.push those hips out. There is the Magyar. Up into the handstand. Full

:21:09. > :21:18.pirouette. Looked a bit of a struggle for me. He fought his way

:21:19. > :21:25.through it. Good job! These lads make it look easy. Craig, you will

:21:26. > :21:32.back me up, it is THE hardest piece. It is certainly very difficult! I

:21:33. > :21:36.would probably say, this to control your adrenaline. But if you think

:21:37. > :21:41.about the hardest piece, I would probably say the high bar. If you

:21:42. > :21:44.have got an action packed routine, doing release and catch after

:21:45. > :21:49.release and catch... This had its own element. As you can see, it

:21:50. > :21:55.takes a lot of stamina. He started to piked his hips in the spindle, so

:21:56. > :21:58.the judges will pick that up. We have got some of the best judges in

:21:59. > :22:05.the world in this country. Nothing will get past them. And Craig, when

:22:06. > :22:09.he is brushing the handle with his legs, those will be deductions as

:22:10. > :22:13.well, won't they? They will indeed. A 10th for every touch. No trouble

:22:14. > :22:20.up into the handstand. Strong finish. But definitely it was a bit

:22:21. > :22:26.of a fight today. Relief, you got through it, Nile! Good job! Big

:22:27. > :22:33.competition for him as well, this. All of these gymnasts looking for a

:22:34. > :22:45.place in that Olympic team. There is the score for Kelly Simm. Rebecca

:22:46. > :22:52.Tunney will be on the floor next. Rebecca was a European floor

:22:53. > :23:02.finalist back in 2012. City of Liverpool, 19 years old. She of

:23:03. > :23:10.course was the youngest GB competitor in the 2012 Olympics. All

:23:11. > :23:24.grown-up now. Looking to fight for a place... Oh, but not like that. She

:23:25. > :23:27.just didn't time the exit correctly. Has to compose herself and make sure

:23:28. > :23:29.this tumble is good. Another difficult tumble, full twisting

:23:30. > :23:58.double back. Working well with the music.

:23:59. > :24:14.One-and-a-half. Difficult work, two difficult tumbles in one series.

:24:15. > :24:21.CHRISTINE STILL: Just a little bobble on the triple spin. The

:24:22. > :24:26.judges probably won't credit that. But they will this nice high double

:24:27. > :24:32.back! Finish from Rebecca Tunney. Just a bit of an error right at the

:24:33. > :24:37.beginning, mistiming that first tumble. Yes, looking little bit

:24:38. > :24:43.shaky there. If you have time out of the competition with injury, cannot

:24:44. > :24:46.replace that competition time. Being on the circuit and banging out the

:24:47. > :24:50.routines under the pressure. It is so different. You can see there. It

:24:51. > :24:56.started in the whip. It was a bit short. As soon as you take off as a

:24:57. > :24:59.gymnast, you know for a fact that you have not made it, but there is

:25:00. > :25:04.nothing you can do. You just hope for the best. But the last tumble,

:25:05. > :25:10.the double pike, a lot better. Chest up, and you know, a way to go but I

:25:11. > :25:15.am sure there is some real positives to take from this weekend. Oh, yes.

:25:16. > :25:27.The silver medal in the all-around competition yesterday's was a huge

:25:28. > :25:33.result. Nile Wilson scores 13.325. Brinn Bevan leading the field at the

:25:34. > :25:39.moment. A lot has been said about British pommel horse work, but not a

:25:40. > :25:44.lot is said about James Hall. He is someone certainly to keep and eye

:25:45. > :25:48.on. It is always good to have somebody like James just in the

:25:49. > :25:53.wings, fighting to get up there and keep the pressure on the top lads.

:25:54. > :25:57.Solid start, very precise. Control on the one handle. This is difficult

:25:58. > :26:07.work to control when the adrenaline is pumping. Did well to stay there,

:26:08. > :26:12.keep his composure. There is the Wu travel, really difficult. And again.

:26:13. > :26:24.Up into the handles. There is the Magyar. Up into the handstand.

:26:25. > :26:30.Slight hesitation on the pirouette, but a good routine from James Hall.

:26:31. > :26:34.It was crisp and sharp! It was indeed, Matt. And James of course

:26:35. > :26:39.was the reserve in Glasgow at the World Championships. He has just

:26:40. > :26:43.gradually been creeping up, and he does offer a couple of pieces of

:26:44. > :26:49.apparatus which we are perhaps not quite so strong on. I think, like

:26:50. > :26:57.you say, he is somebody to watch out for. A mature and steady performer

:26:58. > :27:10.as well. He is 20 years old, so he has got a lot of gymnastics ahead of

:27:11. > :27:16.him as well. Member of the Pegasus Gym Club, same club as Courtney

:27:17. > :27:22.Tulloch. So their coach has really done a great job with these two

:27:23. > :27:33.boys. James scored 14.85 in qualification. So he has got the

:27:34. > :27:43.work as well. Rebecca Tunney's score is in. A costly sit down in the

:27:44. > :27:55.middle there. So, Claudia Fragapane leading. Ahead of Kelly Simm.

:27:56. > :28:07.Rebecca Tunney currently in third. Amy Tinkler, a great floor worker.

:28:08. > :28:12.Had an uncharacteristically poor competition, for her standards,

:28:13. > :28:19.really, last time. Watch this first tumble. Hubble straight with full

:28:20. > :28:28.twist - beautiful. -- double straight. Hits the beats of the

:28:29. > :28:32.music well. And this is another big tumble. Double twisting double tuck.

:28:33. > :28:47.Enormous difficulty. The leap series - gymnasts have to

:28:48. > :29:01.include series of leaps as well as tumbles. Sells the routine through

:29:02. > :29:03.her face. This, a hard tumble. Now into the double tuck. Securely

:29:04. > :29:20.through. Now she still has to perform a

:29:21. > :29:32.final, difficult tumble. Here we go, double pike. Lovely landing. That

:29:33. > :29:34.will be a challenge! That is the question - has the current British

:29:35. > :29:44.champion done enough to retain her title?

:29:45. > :29:48.CRAIG HEAP: I will throw my hat in - I think that will just be good

:29:49. > :29:53.enough. There was some really nice tumbling. Really accurate. And I

:29:54. > :29:59.liked the choreography in the routine. Such a powerful gymnast.

:30:00. > :30:03.Big opening tumble for the look at this second tumble. Slight

:30:04. > :30:10.adjustment there but nothing to speak of. And then right to the end.

:30:11. > :30:13.We have seen gymnasts maybe lose a bit of energy for the double pike,

:30:14. > :30:26.what a way to finish. She will be happy with that.

:30:27. > :30:35.She landed heavily but it was a great performance from South Durham.

:30:36. > :30:45.We will have her score in a moment. James Hall, posts the highest score

:30:46. > :30:47.so far. 14.725 ahead of James - Brinn Bevan - 14.5, Nile Wilson,

:30:48. > :31:05.13.25. Rhys McClone Hoon next. --

:31:06. > :31:17.McClennahan next. 14.5 he posted yesterday. A new face for the pommel

:31:18. > :31:21.horse final which is great to see. He settles into the one-handle work.

:31:22. > :31:32.Oh, good control there on the Russian. A big difficulty work. He

:31:33. > :31:36.works the handles well. Very square with the horse. That's what the

:31:37. > :31:40.judge is looking for. If they are out of line they will get deducted

:31:41. > :31:44.for skewing, but they are looking for the placement of the hands. He

:31:45. > :31:49.is working really well so far. Nice Russian there. Up into the

:31:50. > :31:55.handstand. It is a pirouette. What a routine. Well, listen, 13.325 for a

:31:56. > :31:58.medal at this stage in the competition. We were saying about

:31:59. > :32:03.the Masters. This is a junior gymnast. He was competing in the

:32:04. > :32:07.under-18s. Yes, it is such a wonderful style of final this, where

:32:08. > :32:10.you get the younger gymnasts with the ability to compete against the

:32:11. > :32:15.seniors, the highest eight scores from the last three days of the

:32:16. > :32:19.competition that make it. Well, he certainly has lots of flair and

:32:20. > :32:24.style, hasn't he? He struck me as a real natural on this apparatus. Of

:32:25. > :32:29.course, the six pieces of apparatus the men compete are are all so

:32:30. > :32:33.different that you do get gymnasts who are really suited to one. He

:32:34. > :32:37.looks like he has a very nice rhythm and style. Look at the legs, locked

:32:38. > :32:43.together. He has indeed. His frame really suits the pommel horse

:32:44. > :32:48.because if you can ex-stoned and you get ampitude in the circles. Like

:32:49. > :32:56.you say t looks easy but he has done a difficult routine. He should be

:32:57. > :33:02.really proud of himself. -- it looks easy.

:33:03. > :33:07.Amy has gone ahead of Fragapane. Look at that, 14. 14.35. She will be

:33:08. > :33:12.hugely delighted, after a disappointing day yesterday. Out of

:33:13. > :33:16.the medals all around to come back and win her favourite piece, that

:33:17. > :33:22.will give her a lot of pleasure and confidence. Still four more gymnasts

:33:23. > :33:26.to go in the final but so far the current British champion hangs on to

:33:27. > :33:31.that title. Yes and you are right. We have some huge performances still

:33:32. > :33:43.to could. Ely Downie out there to start with. But, yes, 15. 175, pops

:33:44. > :33:47.him into the lead. We, my friend, will see you again, soon. Well, what

:33:48. > :33:51.a performance for the young man. I think this is what is a really good

:33:52. > :33:56.idea about the Masters' competition. It will give him real experience out

:33:57. > :34:02.there. He is sat there, he can't even believe it. You can You can see

:34:03. > :34:05.it on his face, written all over it - how am I leading this competition?

:34:06. > :34:10.Well, because of all the effort and work you put in, in the gym, my lad.

:34:11. > :34:15.Well that's right. I'm sure he would have come with his aim to just make

:34:16. > :34:21.the final and to now get through and actually take a few scalps will be

:34:22. > :34:25.quite special. I'm trying to look at where he qualified. He qualified in

:34:26. > :34:31.about 7th place and now he is leading at the half way stage and in

:34:32. > :34:37.his mind I wonder if he is thinking - I wonder if Max Orlu Is falls off,

:34:38. > :34:42.I might end up beating the World Champion. I bet he wants to have a

:34:43. > :34:47.word with the person who invited Seles from Australia. -- Prashanth

:34:48. > :34:52.Sellathurai. At the moment he is competing for Milton Keynes. I

:34:53. > :34:58.believe he is over at university. So he is legit. Well, he lives in

:34:59. > :35:02.Britain at the moment. It is also good to have Prashanth Sellathurai

:35:03. > :35:09.in the final for Max and Louis, because he has the experience. This

:35:10. > :35:15.is it. Three medals at world level. There is Louis just warming up. Max

:35:16. > :35:21.just taking it easy, contemplating, shall I, shall I go for the 7-4

:35:22. > :35:24.difficulty? I mean I can't believe we are saying this, Chris. Well,

:35:25. > :35:28.this is the place to do it, really in a way. He has already won the

:35:29. > :35:33.British Championships. He has posted his liest-score, ever. Why not have

:35:34. > :35:38.a go? You know. Really interesting there as well, all the way through

:35:39. > :35:46.Louis' warm-up, Max didn't even look at Louis on the pommel. I think what

:35:47. > :35:49.is really helping Max, he is maturing into a great performer.

:35:50. > :35:55.Totally focussed. I mean we talk about having your own chalk, which

:35:56. > :35:59.is a bit of a given now for the top gymnasts but actually not to be

:36:00. > :36:04.distracted. Head down, he knows with his coach, he works so well

:36:05. > :36:08.together... We have to have a work about Scott, you don't get great

:36:09. > :36:14.gymnasts without great coaches coaches. Interesting Scott and Lee

:36:15. > :36:19.Strood there, Lee is the coach at City of Birmingham who have won

:36:20. > :36:22.virtually everything in the junior ranks, stood behind Scott who has up

:36:23. > :36:28.doubtedly the best team of senior men. Two outstanding young coaches.

:36:29. > :36:37.Well, and maybe, you know one of the best clubs in Britain on the men's

:36:38. > :36:40.side. An interesting quote I saw, he said that he started gymnastics to

:36:41. > :36:44.inspire young peel. There is a lovely picture and he said -

:36:45. > :36:49.actually these guys inspire me. -- inspire young people. That tells you

:36:50. > :37:13.about the passion he has for all his gymnasts.

:37:14. > :37:35.Oh, two-and-a-half twists but she mistimed the rebound and just lost

:37:36. > :37:37.her legs on the front somersault. Abigail is a very powerful gymnast.

:37:38. > :37:55.Just in her first year as a senior. Gymnasts have to start their tumble

:37:56. > :37:59.standing in the corner these days. She has done just the same again,

:38:00. > :38:09.the one-and-a-half and bent the knees at the end and killed the

:38:10. > :38:12.bounce. You were saying about the springiness of the floor. The floor

:38:13. > :38:17.is very springy. It is on the podium. But you do have to really

:38:18. > :38:22.time your tumbles well. Of course these gymnasts have warmed out in

:38:23. > :38:26.the back warm-up imJ just had 30 seconds on the floor to get used to

:38:27. > :38:34.it and obviously for Abigail she didn't quite find the timing. What a

:38:35. > :38:39.shame. But some lovely work in there as well, Chris Yes, a very promising

:38:40. > :38:43.gymnast. Like I say, first year as a senior and she has had a good

:38:44. > :38:48.Championships but really just couldn't quite find the right

:38:49. > :38:55.timing. You can hear her coach saying that. And there we can see

:38:56. > :39:00.one of the tumbles. There is the two-and-a-half. Lost a little bit of

:39:01. > :39:04.the timing. The rebound from the floor, if your legs just aren't

:39:05. > :39:08.locked out, means you don't get the rebound that you like. The same in

:39:09. > :39:12.the second. This is where the experience comes along. In the back

:39:13. > :39:15.gym they don't have the extra bounce of the podium. So having the

:39:16. > :39:20.maturity and experience to realise that when you come out, that is just

:39:21. > :39:25.an error, through experience, Christine, I would say, not because

:39:26. > :39:30.of any major within her training? I would agree. It is a big ask for

:39:31. > :39:34.these gymnasts. They competed last night and here they are again

:39:35. > :39:39.competing in the finals. A tough programme. Amy Tinkler still leads

:39:40. > :39:44.this competition. But we will turn our attentions to the pommel horse.

:39:45. > :39:47.This is Joe Frazier. We saw a little round-up of what had been happening

:39:48. > :39:51.in the junior competition. He was the winner from the under-18

:39:52. > :39:58.all-around competition yesterday. Joe Fraser from the City of

:39:59. > :40:10.Birmingham. Of course a 14.9 in qualification, he posted. A

:40:11. > :40:15.reminder, 15.175 is the score to get from Rhys McClenaghan.

:40:16. > :40:19.Easy up to the hand stand. Judges looking for clearance on the horse

:40:20. > :40:24.on the handles. A straight a line as possible. He is certainly doing

:40:25. > :40:35.that. It is the one-handle work. The spindle on the end. Magyar. Into the

:40:36. > :40:39.Shivado. A little bit skewed on the travels which will be deducted which

:40:40. > :40:47.keep in great form. Feet lockedesing together. Up into the hand stand.

:40:48. > :40:51.Solid. Solid. He needs over 14.5 for a medal this this stage with some

:40:52. > :40:54.very, very strong competition still to could. A reminder that Louis

:40:55. > :41:00.Smith will be up shortly as will Max Whitlock. Well, Joe was the winner

:41:01. > :41:09.of the European Youth Olympics last year. The all-around title. Flts He

:41:10. > :41:13.has really had a great couple of years. Would be expected to lead the

:41:14. > :41:20.British team into the junior Europeans later in the year in May.

:41:21. > :41:31.And looking at all these juniors, you can see we are going to field a

:41:32. > :41:35.very strong team. Yes, and you can see dips there Slight knee bend up

:41:36. > :41:44.into the handstand. No strength required there. So the youngsters

:41:45. > :41:51.very much impressing at the moment. Rhys and Joe. We are waiting for

:41:52. > :41:59.Abigail's score. There it is, it is 11. 15.

:42:00. > :42:09.Her team-mate from the Academy will be up next. It is Phoebe Turner. The

:42:10. > :42:13.sixth gymnast to go in this floor final of eight. A 5-4 difficulty

:42:14. > :42:28.posted yesterday. ! Phoebe another very young senior,

:42:29. > :42:29.only just come to the senior rank. A two-and-a-half and she found the

:42:30. > :42:39.boubs just right. These gymnasts working hard to

:42:40. > :43:17.interpret the music. High leaps. Twisting backwards. Tip

:43:18. > :43:37.forwards. Straight front somersault with double twist.

:43:38. > :43:47.Needs a big double somersault now. Here we get T sky high double pike.

:43:48. > :43:51.Lands with ease. -- here we get it. A much happier outing than her

:43:52. > :43:56.team-mate. A good performance from Phoebe. It was indeed. A real

:43:57. > :44:05.balance there with the choreography and the tumbling. Just a slight line

:44:06. > :44:11.fault. A little hop out but there you can see the timing so much

:44:12. > :44:16.better. Two-and-a-half, chest up. Beautiful straight front and slight

:44:17. > :44:21.adjustment back into the floor. When what a way to finish. Powers across

:44:22. > :44:29.the floor. Accelerate up into the air. Toes pointed. Double pike. And

:44:30. > :44:34.Chris, just, from you know, from a team-mate's perspective, a word on

:44:35. > :44:37.the different centre of excellences there are around Britain at the

:44:38. > :44:41.moment and how they come together to train for the national squad and

:44:42. > :44:45.what have you? Well, we are a club-based country. So we have clubs

:44:46. > :44:52.that definitely produce good juniors and we come together to national

:44:53. > :44:58.squad training. Here we are... 14.3 for Joe Fraser On the men's and

:44:59. > :45:03.women's side we use Lilleshall National Sports Centre and they come

:45:04. > :45:07.together once a month in junior and senior squads and they work together

:45:08. > :45:10.and push each other and coaches work with the national coaches under

:45:11. > :45:16.quite a firm programme and it is really starting to pay off.

:45:17. > :45:34.MATT BAKER: We have spoken about this being a world-class event, and

:45:35. > :45:48.here it is a real technician on this piece of apparatus. Now, watch the

:45:49. > :45:55.clearance over the horse. This is impressive, fast work, almost

:45:56. > :45:59.hovering above the pommel horse. Very difficult spindle in the

:46:00. > :46:08.middle. Loss of form. And he did run out of juice there. There we go,

:46:09. > :46:17.Rhys McClenaghan, it looks like you have got yourself a medal, son.

:46:18. > :46:21.Really difficult on a piece of apparatus like the pommel horse.

:46:22. > :46:31.Once you lose that with, to generate the power. Such a technician,

:46:32. > :46:35.Prashanth Sellathurai. I love to watch this guy on the pommel horse.

:46:36. > :46:46.The Wu travel, into the triple Russian. Travelling down the horse.

:46:47. > :46:51.A little bit of skewing, so there is some room for the judges to take

:46:52. > :46:57.some deductions. Having to use strength on the dismount. But will

:46:58. > :46:59.be heavily deducted. This could be a case, obviously, he can see the

:47:00. > :47:03.lighter side of things in this situation. Obviously, selection is

:47:04. > :47:08.not important for him at this competition. We are very early in

:47:09. > :47:13.the year so this may be a case of him coming out of the stable for the

:47:14. > :47:18.first time. CHRISTINE STILL: Yes, and of course,

:47:19. > :47:23.Australia, the men have not been very strong at all. They have not

:47:24. > :47:28.even qualified to go to the test event, which is in Rio, next

:47:29. > :47:32.weekend, which is the second opportunity for gymnasts to qualify

:47:33. > :47:37.for the Olympics. But the Australian men have not even qualified for

:47:38. > :47:43.that, so they have been struggling. Very difficult routine. That is the

:47:44. > :47:48.first time I have seen a spindle between the handles. Having to use

:47:49. > :47:51.strength to get into the handstand dismount, which is something the

:47:52. > :47:53.judges will penalise. But he is smiling and obviously enjoying his

:47:54. > :48:10.time at university. The score is in for Phoebe Turner.

:48:11. > :48:12.She is into third. Amy Tinkler leading at the moment ahead of

:48:13. > :48:27.Claudia Fragapane. We saw Georgia-Mae Fenton not having

:48:28. > :48:41.much fun on the bars earlier on. What can she do on floor? He is a

:48:42. > :48:48.very elegant gymnast. -- she is are very elegant gymnast. Very stylish.

:48:49. > :48:53.Beautiful pirouette there. She has to work hard to match it with the

:48:54. > :49:11.power. Nice two-and-a-half. Now, has to have at least one double

:49:12. > :49:17.somersault. Here it comes. Doubletalk, lands it well. -- double

:49:18. > :49:47.tuck. Good combination of spins. The double twist, she was just a

:49:48. > :49:48.little bit short of that. A little bit short on power. Beautifully

:49:49. > :50:07.elegant. So, she went for the big double

:50:08. > :50:11.twist, just not quite come off. Did not have enough in the locker. I

:50:12. > :50:15.just hope she takes away the positives from this Championships,

:50:16. > :50:22.and not the negatives, because she is just wonderful to watch, Craig.

:50:23. > :50:25.CRAIG HEAP: I was going to say that she has got real style and class

:50:26. > :50:29.about her. There is nothing which cannot be improved upon with a bit

:50:30. > :50:32.more training. She has got the skills but just needs a bit more

:50:33. > :50:37.stamina and strength. But the style that she has got, you can see in the

:50:38. > :50:50.handspring, she snatched early into the last somersault. Even on bars,

:50:51. > :50:56.she has this air of Nastia Lukin about her. She does have that. I

:50:57. > :51:03.think she will put herself in the top eight gymnasts in the country.

:51:04. > :51:13.She will certainly be part of the British team, I am sure, very

:51:14. > :51:21.shortly. So, Rhys McClenaghan leads the competition. Ahead of James

:51:22. > :51:31.Hall. Brinn Bevan is currently in third. Well, here we go, then, with

:51:32. > :51:34.Lewis Smith, world and Olympic silver medallist, current European

:51:35. > :51:44.and Commonwealth champion. Current British champion. The titles just go

:51:45. > :51:54.on and on. So, here it is Louis with his first major pitch for that place

:51:55. > :51:58.at the Olympics. A a lot of pressure on this routine. But if anybody can

:51:59. > :52:07.handle the pressure, it is this man. Smoothly into the handstand. Nice

:52:08. > :52:13.single legwork. And again. Picks up into the double-leg circles.

:52:14. > :52:25.Fulfilling the difficulty. Such a relaxed style. Full spindle. Now,

:52:26. > :52:31.this is the bit, this is the Busnari for the difficulty. Better

:52:32. > :52:38.transition than we have seen in a while. There is the Wu travel. Must

:52:39. > :52:46.lock those feet together. Throw-in a Magyar and Shivado for good measure.

:52:47. > :52:52.Winds up. Into the handstand. There is the pirouette. Solid routine for

:52:53. > :52:57.Mr Smith! He is a class act, isn't he? I thought that was a classy

:52:58. > :53:05.performance, Matt. Sometimes, Louis can look a bit tatty, for want of a

:53:06. > :53:09.better word! And the routine can look a bit of a struggle sometimes.

:53:10. > :53:14.But about it not look a struggle at all. It looked class. Very, very

:53:15. > :53:19.impressive. He makes it look easy. We spoke about how difficult this

:53:20. > :53:24.piece of apparatus is. This is one of the highest difficulty levels in

:53:25. > :53:28.the world, Craig. It is. If you looked at the tempo of the routine

:53:29. > :53:33.between Smith and Prashanth Sellathurai before, it is almost

:53:34. > :53:37.like the other side. You're almost thinking, are you going to wind

:53:38. > :53:41.yourself up a bit? But he has this really relaxed with. He understands

:53:42. > :53:45.the apparatus. It is almost like, Louis is going to do his routine,

:53:46. > :53:52.but how well today? It was pretty good. Yes. The way he completed it,

:53:53. > :53:56.he made the hard moves look just as easy as the rest of its. Sheer

:53:57. > :54:03.quality. And that is what you want to. A name like his on the world

:54:04. > :54:06.stage, he has done himself a world of good to get to Rio. He has. There

:54:07. > :54:11.was a lot of pressure on that routine. If he wants to content

:54:12. > :54:18.against Max, he is going to have to work a bit on his difficulty. 12.35

:54:19. > :54:26.for Georgia-Mae Fenton. Amy Tinkler still leads. So, the final

:54:27. > :54:33.competitor, then, in this women's floor final. It is Ellie Downie.

:54:34. > :54:44.Sixth in the world floor final last year. Beating Fragapane. 14.35, the

:54:45. > :54:52.score to beat. And really has been looking very impressive in training.

:54:53. > :55:07.One-and-a-half, into the high double Arabian, just a little step. Look at

:55:08. > :55:24.the height on that double Arabian. She is so powerful.

:55:25. > :55:33.She has always been a great tumbler as a junior. But she is starting to

:55:34. > :55:40.mature into the dance as well. Oh, and she also mistimed that punch!

:55:41. > :55:47.She rescued it. But definitely mistimed it.

:55:48. > :56:02.One more tumble left. Double pike, very easy.

:56:03. > :56:10.Well, she said she was surprised with a medal in the all-round

:56:11. > :56:16.yesterday. Is it going to be the same case today? Can she sneaked in

:56:17. > :56:20.there? I don't think that will be good enough, just because of that

:56:21. > :56:24.mistake there. This is a problem when you have got such context

:56:25. > :56:30.tumbling, as a performer, do you put loads of effort in and run the risk

:56:31. > :56:33.of balancing out the floor, and then you relax a little bit? In my mind

:56:34. > :56:38.it looked like she had relaxed a little bit for that one. Her legs

:56:39. > :56:42.were not tight enough on take-off. And she did really well actually not

:56:43. > :56:46.to sit down on the floor. I don't know what you think, Christine, but

:56:47. > :56:53.that just shows a type of gymnast with the determination she has got?

:56:54. > :56:58.Yes, she had to fight very hard not to sit down. Ellie is really the

:56:59. > :57:01.gymnast who is really on the rise. She is nowhere near her peak. She is

:57:02. > :57:06.definitely preparing for real, rather than now. Look at that score!

:57:07. > :57:26.16.1 for Louis Smith! Oh! He says! I think Rhys is kicking himself now,

:57:27. > :57:31.thinking, he has just kicked me out of that gold spot. Max Whitlock now,

:57:32. > :57:40.world champion on this piece of apparatus. He is going, we

:57:41. > :57:47.understand, for a 7-8 for difficulty. Straight into the

:57:48. > :57:53.handstand. Slight brush of the pommel there. That is a deduction.

:57:54. > :57:58.He will definitely need to put the difficulty in. Good work on one

:57:59. > :58:05.handle. There is the Busnari. Back down, very fluent there. That is

:58:06. > :58:18.where... Oh, struggling a bit in the full spindle. And in the Magyar.

:58:19. > :58:28.Skewed on the Shivado. Into the handstand. Her wet... -- wet... He

:58:29. > :58:43.put in that extra bit of difficulty on the dismount, but has he done

:58:44. > :58:50.enough? -- pirouette. Could that do it? I would say not. There were two

:58:51. > :58:57.errors, one, contact with the horse, and then he lost his with a bit at

:58:58. > :59:02.the end. 16.25, yet he has the difficulty, but actually, Louis did

:59:03. > :59:05.a pretty sweet routine there. CHRISTINE STILL: Certainly he has

:59:06. > :59:11.given the judges the opportunity to deduct. This is going to be a

:59:12. > :59:19.fascinating score. It has been a great battle. It has indeed. And

:59:20. > :59:28.Max, obviously, was the victor yesterday's. A few little wobbles,

:59:29. > :59:34.but it has been a big competition. I spoke to Scott earlier, he said he

:59:35. > :59:38.was going for the difficulty that he needed, but obviously you get the

:59:39. > :59:43.risk with that. I think it will come down to the difficulty, whether he

:59:44. > :59:48.gets the... Because he gave a few marks away. Whether his difficulty

:59:49. > :59:58.is enough to allow him to be able to do that. And Ellie Downie scores...

:59:59. > :00:03.So, not enough for a medal today. The gymnasts did struggle a bit with

:00:04. > :00:08.the timing on the floor today. But I'm sure we will see Downie right up

:00:09. > :00:16.there when it comes to Olympics time.

:00:17. > :00:25.At anxious wait for the score come in. Oh, he has. 16.325. He has gone

:00:26. > :00:29.into first place that. Goes to show that extra difficulty of five tenths

:00:30. > :00:35.really does help. That was a real surprise. There was an anxious wait

:00:36. > :00:41.with his coach, Scott, there. And Louis had a bit of a smile. I think

:00:42. > :00:47.that's the first time they have looked at each over since they

:00:48. > :00:55.stepped out to the apparatus. Well, that's a massive score there. And

:00:56. > :01:03.for a team, on the team perspective, it really does put Great Britain in

:01:04. > :01:09.the driving seat on pommel horse. I mean with these errors, and a big

:01:10. > :01:16.score like, that 16. A 5, 16 Monye 6 territory and this is' the -- that's

:01:17. > :01:23.16.5, 16.6 territory and I was going to say that's a big return on the

:01:24. > :01:29.start value. So the floor exercise, Amy Tinkler retains her title ahead

:01:30. > :01:37.of Claudia Fragapane, the newly-crowned all-around British

:01:38. > :01:42.Championship. Phoebe Turner from the The Academy takes the bronze. Ely

:01:43. > :01:49.Downie with a couple of mistakes, in fifth. Rebecca Tunney tired today

:01:50. > :01:52.after a great performance yesterday and Abigail Solari in eighth,

:01:53. > :02:06.struggling there with the timing of the floor.

:02:07. > :02:13.And there a confirmation, Max Whitlock Masters' champion, 2016 on

:02:14. > :02:27.the pommel horse with a massive 16. 325. Silver, Louis Smith, 16.1. And

:02:28. > :02:32.young Rhys McClone Hoon. 15.175 -- McClenaghan, scraped into the final

:02:33. > :02:39.to take the bronze. Good performance James Hall and Brinn Bevan, fifth,

:02:40. > :02:46.young Joe Fraser, good outing, in sixth. And Prashanth Sellathurai,

:02:47. > :02:51.13.625 in seventh and Nile Wilson 13.325 for eighth.

:02:52. > :03:02.Well, what a final it was and I'm delighted to say I'm joined by Gabby

:03:03. > :03:06.Jupp and Rhys McClenaghan. Rhys, you are 16. Did you ever imagine you

:03:07. > :03:11.were going to medal in that final. I mean it was world class for goodness

:03:12. > :03:15.sake. I had no idea. Did you seriously not expect it? I really

:03:16. > :03:19.didn't expect T I went to the maft ears final to think - I'm just

:03:20. > :03:23.having fun now, just for the experience and to come out with a

:03:24. > :03:28.medal, wow, I can't believe it. So going in with that mentality. How do

:03:29. > :03:34.you think that set you up because you were having fun and because you

:03:35. > :03:38.wanted to show people what you had been working on? I'm sure it made me

:03:39. > :03:42.more calm and I was a lot more composed, and being nervous, to get

:03:43. > :03:46.a medal. Not only are you on TV but we can show you your routine. Here

:03:47. > :03:51.we go, talk us through how to felt and to be in this arena. I started

:03:52. > :03:54.with the sheer handstand and it went well. I think that was a

:03:55. > :03:59.confidence-booster for the rest of the routine. I completed a G-flop

:04:00. > :04:03.sequence, which is a pretty difficult one-handle work. Then by

:04:04. > :04:11.this stage at the end of the routine it is more about stamina. So I just,

:04:12. > :04:15.from the training that I got, I could just really thrive at this

:04:16. > :04:19.part and this part was just all about the standstand dismount. Well,

:04:20. > :04:23.listen, let me shake you by the hand. I thought that was really,

:04:24. > :04:26.really impressive and huge congratedlations and welcome,

:04:27. > :04:29.welcome to the world stage of pommel horse working, which is lovely.

:04:30. > :04:35.Gabby, let's have a word about you as well. Going into that, you had

:04:36. > :04:40.seen lots of gymnasts falling. What was did it feel like going into your

:04:41. > :04:44.routine? Well, I actually felt more calm today than yesterday. I knew I

:04:45. > :04:48.had done a decent routine yesterday but I didn't hit all my links. I

:04:49. > :04:53.really wanted to go out and hit them all. I knew that it was possible,

:04:54. > :04:56.but it was about me hitting the links and doing the best I could.

:04:57. > :05:00.You have had a lot of injury haven't you through the years. Talk us

:05:01. > :05:03.through what it is like psychologically, carrying on with

:05:04. > :05:07.gymnastics when you are going through such difficult times. Anyone

:05:08. > :05:11.who has had a serious injury knows when you come back you get all the

:05:12. > :05:16.additional smaller injuries coming on, so it is constant ups and downs

:05:17. > :05:20.in training. You so want to get back out there and show everyone what you

:05:21. > :05:22.can do but sometimes your body doesn't let you do that.

:05:23. > :05:28.Congratulations. British champion. Well done. We are going to bring in

:05:29. > :05:32.some more teams here. I think we have Max making his way over, the

:05:33. > :05:36.star of the British team and Dan Purvis. They are just working their

:05:37. > :05:44.Weah. You would think as gymnasts they would be good at hopping over

:05:45. > :05:49.cables. Come on in, don't be shy. We may have to sigh goodbye to you, we

:05:50. > :05:55.only have a few microphones. Congratulations. Give me the

:05:56. > :06:02.microphones, watch where you are walking and don't trip over. In you

:06:03. > :06:08.come lads, come in, super job, Dan, you can share a mic, two Dans, one

:06:09. > :06:11.mic. How are you feeling after the all-around performance yesterday.

:06:12. > :06:16.Over 92 scored, could you believe that in the all-around? I couldn't.

:06:17. > :06:20.To be honest, it is an amazing week to be part of the British

:06:21. > :06:25.Championships has been great. Showed the strength all over the ages. And

:06:26. > :06:29.for it to be finished now is great and to finish that way is brilliant.

:06:30. > :06:33.That pommel time, I mean to see Louis, he was looking good, wasn't

:06:34. > :06:36.he? So clean and crisp. Did you watch that performance? No, I didn't

:06:37. > :06:40.watch. I never watch the routines in front of me. But I heard the

:06:41. > :06:45.applause at the end. I knew he had done a great routine. It was always

:06:46. > :06:49.going to be close. It came out good for me on the day. Because you

:06:50. > :06:53.brushed the horse didn't you at the beginning a few times. What did you

:06:54. > :06:57.think at that stage, did you think you had to pack in the difficulty?

:06:58. > :07:02.Yes, I went all out. I went for 7.4 start score on my highest one. I had

:07:03. > :07:08.to go with it. When I brushed the horse I knew I had to go through it

:07:09. > :07:11.even more to clean up the rest of the routine. Dan, I said yesterday

:07:12. > :07:14.how fit you were looking. It is just incredible how on-form you are. And

:07:15. > :07:18.to nail the landings you did in floor, how did floor go for you

:07:19. > :07:22.today? Thank you. Yes, I was really pleased with my floor. Yesterday I

:07:23. > :07:27.was a bit like B a, mbi jumping over the place. I managed to stay on my

:07:28. > :07:32.feet. I spoke to my coach and we thought go for t I managed to get

:07:33. > :07:35.the landings. It has given me confidence. How important was this

:07:36. > :07:39.competition in terms of selection for you? Massive. So many lads in GB

:07:40. > :07:43.are looking fantastic. A massive European trial. I managed to hit my

:07:44. > :07:47.personal best yesterday in the all-around. I was happy with that.

:07:48. > :07:50.Why great weekend. This is the thing, we have the Europeans

:07:51. > :07:54.obviously coming up at the end of may and the beginning of June for

:07:55. > :07:57.the women. What are your plans? To keep with that consistency of your

:07:58. > :08:01.routines, they are pretty much set I'm guessing as far as the year is

:08:02. > :08:05.concerned? Like Dan said, he hit his personal best, I hit my personal

:08:06. > :08:09.best, all we need to do is get back into the training gym and hopefully

:08:10. > :08:14.make them more consistent. It is about doing the numbers and routines

:08:15. > :08:17.to be ready for the Europeans. And a quick word - what an environment to

:08:18. > :08:21.have been working, as far as the British Championships are concerned.

:08:22. > :08:23.I couldn't believe T I seriously cannot believe the quality of

:08:24. > :08:29.gymnastics I have been watching over the last few days. -- I couldn't

:08:30. > :08:32.believe it. Thank you all. Huge congratulations to all of the
