:00:49. > :00:51.one of those teams involved in the tightest of promotion races to the

:00:52. > :00:55.Premier League, or players from leagues one or two, they've all

:00:56. > :01:01.played their part in yet another dramatic season. We start with the

:01:02. > :01:04.PFA merit award. Since 1974 the PFA has honoured

:01:05. > :01:16.individuals for their exceptional contribution to football. These have

:01:17. > :01:21.included world greats such as Usebio and great managers, even entire

:01:22. > :01:26.teams such as the 1968 European Cup winning Manchester United side. And

:01:27. > :01:29.of course, the 1966 World Cup England side, many of whom, as we

:01:30. > :01:35.know, are with us tonight. To announce this year's winner, the PFA

:01:46. > :01:55.Let's look at this man's remarkable career.

:01:56. > :01:58.Manchester United believe we may be seeing the start of a very special

:02:56. > :03:02.is still Ryan Giggs. And he's scored a sensational goal. What a moment

:03:03. > :03:07.for Ryan Giggs. BBC Sports Personality of the Year is... Ryan

:03:46. > :03:49.contribution to professional football. This lad is probably the

:03:50. > :03:56.most decorated player in football history. This year marks the 25th

:04:41. > :05:02.First of all, how does it feel to be honoured by the PFA in this way?

:05:03. > :05:07.It's special. I would like to thank Gordon and the PFA committee. When

:05:08. > :05:12.you see the people who've been awarded this before, I'm amongst

:05:13. > :05:18.legends. So, it's a brilliant occasion for me. I would just like

:05:19. > :05:21.to say when I previously won young Player of the Year and players'

:05:22. > :05:25.Player of the Year, my granddad was here. He sadly passed away last

:05:26. > :05:30.movement I would like to dedicate this... He's not here tonight... I

:05:31. > :05:36.would like to dedicate this to him tonight. Thank you.

:05:37. > :05:42.Ladies and gentleman, to the Barclays Premier League, where this

:05:43. > :05:51.has been no ordinary season with some extraordinary performances.

:05:52. > :06:00.COMMENTATOR: Coutinho on the turn. And going for goal! What a goal.

:06:01. > :06:09.Mahrez. How about that! That's his first for this campaign. What a

:06:10. > :06:20.fantastic goal by Benteke. A flowing Spurs move. Mason scores for

:06:21. > :06:29.Tottenham Hotspur. Martial, what a brilliant goal. Sanchez through one

:06:30. > :06:32.challenge, devastating finish. Jamie Vardy has scored for the eighth

:06:33. > :06:44.consecutive Premier League game. Kane in on goal... Harry Kane

:06:45. > :06:49.scores. He's Lukaku. Great goal. He finds the goal. Vardy's done it. He

:06:50. > :06:56.needed no second invitation to stride into the Premier League

:06:57. > :07:04.history books. He's gone for the first time. Ozil. It would be

:07:05. > :07:10.brilliant. It is brilliant! He scores again. Mahrez with a

:07:11. > :07:21.fantastic strike. The troubles mount for Jose Mourinho. Alli, what a

:07:22. > :07:27.goal! Brilliant goal. What a goal! On the volley, oh, that is a

:07:28. > :07:33.stunner. What a strike that is. Rooney! What a finish. Scorcher.

:07:34. > :07:43.Payet, oh, he's hit that sweetly. What a goal.

:07:44. > :07:51.Oh, what a screecher! Brilliant. It's Mahrez, oh, wonderful skill.

:07:52. > :07:56.Oh, what a goal. Brilliant. Goal, that's an incredible strike by Harry

:07:57. > :08:05.Kane. Brilliantly done Rashford here. What a goal. He does it again.

:08:06. > :08:16.What a finish that is. Brilliant goal from Ramsey. Perfect. Townsend

:08:17. > :08:24.to finish it. It's a brilliant goal. What an incredible climax to this

:08:25. > :08:29.game. That is brilliant. Whatever next in this remarkable Barclays

:08:30. > :08:34.Premier League season? Ladies and gentleman, so to the 11 players who

:08:35. > :08:38.not only excelled in the top flight but polled the most votes as cast by

:08:39. > :08:41.their fellow professionals. You might have seen it by now. This is

:08:42. > :09:54.the Barclays Premier League Team Of The Year.

:09:55. > :10:00.It really has been an incredible campaign in England's top flight so

:10:01. > :10:03.far, but you get the feeling that the drama is only just beginning.

:10:04. > :10:08.Yet one of the great achievements of this season was the new record of

:10:09. > :10:15.consecutive goals scored by Leicester City's Jamie Vardy. Vardy

:10:16. > :10:22.is in behind. Vardy's done it! He has done it. 11 consecutive games.

:10:23. > :10:26.Scored in every single one of them. Many congratulations. How big, first

:10:27. > :10:32.of all, before we get to your Premier League record, how big was

:10:33. > :10:36.the win against Swansea? No, it was massive. Obviously, a lot of the

:10:37. > :10:40.press were saying for some reason that Leicester are a one-man team.

:10:41. > :10:44.It just shows that they're the opposite end of the scale. We're a

:10:45. > :10:48.fully knit team and we fight for each other all the way. Reflecting

:10:49. > :10:53.on the Premier League record, the 11 goals, any one goal stick out for

:10:54. > :10:58.new particular? Would it be the winning one at the end to break the

:10:59. > :11:02.record? Well there's two. I had to score against Bournemouth which

:11:03. > :11:07.thanks to Riyad, who didn't have the best 45 and so I was on penalties.

:11:08. > :11:10.And then the Man U game to finish it off. This season, all the lads will

:11:11. > :11:14.tell you the same, it's like we're on a fair ground ride and we're just

:11:15. > :11:18.enjoying ourselves. We'll carry on doing that. You guys are nerveless

:11:19. > :11:22.at this stage of the season? There's no nerves with us. Really? No, none

:11:23. > :11:27.whatsoever. We will keep going as we are and pick up as many points as

:11:28. > :11:31.possible and hopefully it will be enough at the end of the season.

:11:32. > :11:35.Give him a round of applause, record breaking Jamie Vardy. Cheers, thank

:11:36. > :11:44.you. Please welcome Jake Bugg.

:11:45. > :11:51.# I thought about it in a few ways # Who backs off on the pale blaze

:11:52. > :11:54.# Middle road # I focus hard

:11:55. > :12:06.# Try to make it sound like the new # But it's only going to be the same

:12:07. > :12:33.# Those kids talk about the old street

:12:34. > :13:03.Women's football everybody is going in status on the pitch and audience

:13:04. > :13:08.numbers off it. This was helped by the success of the England women's

:13:09. > :13:13.team at the World Cup in can dilast summer. -- Canada last summer. Since

:13:14. > :13:30.then there's been no lack of thrills in the FA women's Super League.

:13:31. > :13:37.We definitely belong in League One. We are a new outfit. A great moment

:13:38. > :13:47.for everyone involved at the club. We can't wait to get started now.

:13:48. > :14:03.COMMENTATOR: Here is Duggan - outstanding.

:14:04. > :14:22.That is good for the work. Beth Mead! Brilliant! -- footwork.

:14:23. > :14:44.It is a superb goal! Spectacular!

:14:45. > :15:17.What a goal that is. Naomi Duggan is on fire. Ellen White! Beautifully

:15:18. > :15:24.worked! What a touch! Fabulous! A real touch of quality from the PFA

:15:25. > :15:31.player of the year. The full-time whistle goes. Bristol

:15:32. > :15:36.are relegated. We want to be in this league for

:15:37. > :15:39.years to come. Chelsea have the champagne on ice.

:15:40. > :15:51.If they hold their nerve, they should clinch their first WSL title.

:15:52. > :16:02.The title is coming to Chelsea! Chelsea have won the WSL.

:16:03. > :16:09.Those were the teams in action. Let's look at those who have been

:16:10. > :16:43.voted as part of the WSL team of the year.

:16:44. > :16:53.Ladies, 50 years ago this year since England won that epic World Cup

:16:54. > :17:04.final. -- it is 50 years ago. Let's remind ourselves of that day.

:17:05. > :17:17.Whatever happens, this is bound to be the noisiest World Cup final in

:17:18. > :17:27.history. The excitement is intense. It is an equaliser! Geoff Hurst.

:17:28. > :17:53.Peters! They have done! Geoff Hurst! No! It

:17:54. > :18:02.is a goal! It is all over, I think. No. Here,

:18:03. > :18:06.Sir Geoff Hurst. Some people are on the pitch. They think it is all

:18:07. > :18:15.over. It is now. England are the world champions.

:18:16. > :18:21.There is the trophy. What a day this is.

:18:22. > :18:29.Some great scenes. We are joined by no less than eight of the England

:18:30. > :18:34.squad who took part in that incredible tournament half a century

:18:35. > :18:44.ago this July. Please welcome Ian Callaghan MBE, George: MBE, Norman

:18:45. > :18:46.Hunter, Jimmy Armfield CBE, Ron Flowers, Gordon Banks OBE, Jack

:18:47. > :19:22.Charlton OBE and Roger Hunt OBE. It must be mentioned that one man

:19:23. > :19:24.who played a hugely significant role in the history of the Professional

:19:25. > :19:32.Footballers' Association was Jimmy Hill OBE. Jimmy Hill was a player, a

:19:33. > :19:37.manager, a chairman, even an owner of a football club. He was head of

:19:38. > :19:41.the PFA when the maximum wage was abolished, which as a result saw

:19:42. > :19:54.Johnny Haynes become the first player to earn ?100 per week. Jimmy

:19:55. > :19:58.Hill left quite the legacy. He was a chimney sweep, he was a

:19:59. > :20:03.footballer. He became a trade union leader. He became a very successful

:20:04. > :20:09.manager at Coventry. He went into broadcasting. Then he became front

:20:10. > :20:14.of camera. Then he did Match of the Day. It is amazing.

:20:15. > :20:20.It is a remarkable career. The players, led by Jimmy Hill, demand a

:20:21. > :20:27.bigger wage. They should be no maximum. If a club

:20:28. > :20:29.were doing particularly well, through their players's efforts,

:20:30. > :20:37.there should be no regulation stopping them from playing a player

:20:38. > :20:44.some money. After the Second World War the attendances were 50,000

:20:45. > :20:48.plus. He was only interested in the good of the game. There are not many

:20:49. > :20:57.people like that. Be quiet, will you? You will not get it better than

:20:58. > :20:59.that. He did so many different things. Did he change football?

:21:00. > :21:17.The answer is yes. APPLAUSE. We are going to move away

:21:18. > :21:25.from domestic matters for the time being. While the political world

:21:26. > :21:28.discuss a possible exit, for four national manager is the challenge

:21:29. > :21:31.this summer is about staying in Europe for as long as possible. We

:21:32. > :22:11.are talking about euro 2016. So for the first time ever three

:22:12. > :22:15.home nations and the Republic of Ireland have qualified for a major

:22:16. > :22:21.international tournament. With that in mind, who better to preview euro

:22:22. > :22:28.2016 than the manager of Wales, Chris Coleman. Roy Hodgson from

:22:29. > :22:32.England. Martin O'Neill, manager of the Republic of Ireland. And from

:22:33. > :22:35.Northern Ireland, Michael O'Neill. Give them a round of applause,

:22:36. > :22:45.please. APPLAUSE.

:22:46. > :22:52.Now there is a line-up. We have got a couple of microphones. We have two

:22:53. > :22:57.share them amongst you. Roy, we will start with you. It is a third major

:22:58. > :23:07.international tournament. How far can England go? I don't know. I

:23:08. > :23:14.think as a player and as a coach you leave the expectations and the hopes

:23:15. > :23:19.and the dreams to others. Cloudy eyes been talking all season about

:23:20. > :23:23.how important it is to live the moment, to enjoy the moment. --

:23:24. > :23:27.Claudio Ranieri. I believe in that fully as well. At the moment there

:23:28. > :23:32.is a good feeling within the country. The players to go to France

:23:33. > :23:36.will know there is a lot of hope and belief and confidence in what they

:23:37. > :23:42.can do. I really hope that they will not allow that to cow them in their

:23:43. > :23:49.performance. In fact, it will encourage them to do well.

:23:50. > :23:53.Tournaments are notorious for tripping you up. You can play well

:23:54. > :23:59.and lose or you can play badly and when. I just hope we win. I don't

:24:00. > :24:05.care if we play well or badly. Whales in their first international

:24:06. > :24:10.tournament for 58 years. How excited are you at the prospect of leaving

:24:11. > :24:17.out the side in the summer? Of course, it is a very special feeling

:24:18. > :24:23.for us. It has been a long time we have been waiting to perform on the

:24:24. > :24:28.big stage. We are all a little bit nervous but excited. And the three

:24:29. > :24:35.games we have got, Slovakia, England and Russia, every Welsh man, woman,

:24:36. > :24:45.child will look at that second game against England. But we are not

:24:46. > :24:51.really... If we get the points, great. Whether we get the points

:24:52. > :24:54.against England, Slovakia or Russia, it doesn't matter. We just have to

:24:55. > :25:00.get through the group stages. It will be tough. It is exciting. We're

:25:01. > :25:03.looking forward to it. Michael, Northern Ireland is clearly

:25:04. > :25:07.transformed under your guidance. You are looking forward to Northern

:25:08. > :25:11.Ireland's first-ever per dissipation in the European Championships. You

:25:12. > :25:17.will be encouraged by the fact that your team was not overawed by bigger

:25:18. > :25:22.teams in qualifying. It is different for us. We are delighted to be

:25:23. > :25:28.there. Having got there you have the expectation of getting to the

:25:29. > :25:31.finals. It is very similar. We have punched above our weight throughout

:25:32. > :25:39.the campaign. It is a Leicester City like story. Mr Mann Yair E us Mr

:25:40. > :25:42.Ranieri was the manager of Greece when we played them earlier in the

:25:43. > :25:47.campaign. It shows you what can be done if you can build a good spirit

:25:48. > :25:51.and a group of players, you get momentum, you continue that

:25:52. > :25:55.momentum. Whilst there is no expectation, we have our own

:25:56. > :26:00.expectations because we won our group and we want to as we can.

:26:01. > :26:05.Martin, a tough job for your lot, Belgium, Italy Sweden. What you

:26:06. > :26:11.think when you saw that? The first game is very important. We play

:26:12. > :26:15.Sweden. A number of third placed teams can get through. I am not

:26:16. > :26:20.saying that is what we're looking at but the first game becomes

:26:21. > :26:25.important. Martin, tell me about the chemistry between you and Roy Keane.

:26:26. > :26:31.He gets on very well with the players, or most of them. The few he

:26:32. > :26:39.does not get on well with, I quite like. So between us, we managed to

:26:40. > :26:44.get there. He has actually been brilliant for Republic of Ireland.

:26:45. > :26:51.Iconic figure. Obviously divides opinion. That good news for us.

:26:52. > :26:53.We wish you all well. Time for some music. Put your hands together for a

:26:54. > :27:07.tiny temper. # check, check.

:27:08. > :27:17.# OK. Yeah.

:27:18. > :27:29.# check. THEY CHANT all I ever needed was a plan.

:27:30. > :27:43.# go low, go low. # everybody go low.

:27:44. > :27:59.# girls like. # what do girls like. # what do girls like.

:28:00. > :28:09.# I know what boys like. # what our girls like?

:28:10. > :28:16.The 2016 nominees for the women's the PFA Young Player of the Year are

:28:17. > :28:20.Danielle Carter of Arsenal Ladies. Anna Blondel from Chelsea. Beth Mead

:28:21. > :28:34.of Sunderland. And so to the winner, ladies and

:28:35. > :28:46.gentlemen. Of Sunderland and England, put yourselves -- put your

:28:47. > :28:52.hands together for a Beth Mead. How does it feel to be stood here as

:28:53. > :28:57.the winner of this award? I think it is an amazing achievement for me, my

:28:58. > :29:01.family, first Sunderland girls. It is a dream come true for me and is

:29:02. > :29:09.has topped off a great season. And what a season for you, finishing top

:29:10. > :29:13.scorer. 12 and 14. Your first England call-up in October. How do

:29:14. > :29:19.you go about topping that this Time-Out? We have just got to work

:29:20. > :29:24.hard again. We have to try to top it. Develop as a player. To do that

:29:25. > :29:29.I have to try to do better. We're willing to work hard. Hopefully we

:29:30. > :29:30.can do the same. The PFA young Women's Player of the Year. Beth

:29:31. > :29:34.Mead. The 2016 nominees for the men's PFA

:29:35. > :30:01.young Player of the Year: And the winner is... Dele Alli.

:30:02. > :30:07.APPLAUSE Unfortunately Dele Alli can't be with us tonight because I

:30:08. > :30:10.hear he has an important game. I caught up with him at the training

:30:11. > :30:15.ground and this is what he had to say. Thank you Ozzy for receiving

:30:16. > :30:19.this award for me. Sorry I can't be there tonight, but we have a big

:30:20. > :30:24.game tomorrow. Thank you everyone who voted for me. I feel honoured to

:30:25. > :30:27.win such a prestigious award. Thank you to all my friends and family and

:30:28. > :30:30.the staff here at Tottenham. I hope you all have a lovely night.

:30:31. > :30:40.CHEERING We come to the highest possible

:30:41. > :30:43.awards in football these two players of the year award are voted for by

:30:44. > :30:47.the men and women who play professional football in this

:30:48. > :30:55.country. Firstly the women's PFA players' Player of the Year.

:30:56. > :30:57.# I live my day as if it was the last

:30:58. > :31:00.# Doing it all night, all summer # Doing it the way I want to

:31:01. > :31:10.# COMMENTATOR: What a touch! Oh,

:31:11. > :31:31.fabulous. Technically superb. She's always at

:31:32. > :31:38.the heart of whatever Manchester City are doing. This could be the

:31:39. > :31:47.moment. It is! Manchester City lead. Izzy Christiansen with the header.

:31:48. > :31:56.Just fingertips. Not taking any chances.

:31:57. > :32:20.Beth Mead, of course, the main danger. Mead in the middle!

:32:21. > :32:37.In third place... Hedvig Lindahl of Chelsea. In second place... Ji

:32:38. > :32:44.So-Yun of Chelsea. And the winner is... Izzy Christiansen of

:32:45. > :32:53.Manchester City. APPLAUSE

:32:54. > :33:01.How does it feel to be voted by your fellow pros the ultimate accolade?

:33:02. > :33:05.I'm feeling very, very humbled and proud right now. I think every

:33:06. > :33:09.player in this room will probably agree that there's no better feeling

:33:10. > :33:13.than being recognised by fellow professionals. I'm extremely

:33:14. > :33:17.honoured and proud and in amongst such a talented group of nominees,

:33:18. > :33:26.this means the absolute world to me. Thank you.

:33:27. > :33:29.APPLAUSE Could you have wished for a better few months, scoring on your

:33:30. > :33:33.international debut and finishing strongly with a glut of goals really

:33:34. > :33:37.in the division? Yeah, I mean, a lot of our players at Manchester City

:33:38. > :33:42.were away in Canada last year at the World Cup. Unfortunately, I wasn't

:33:43. > :33:46.there. I looked at them every day and they inspired me to work hard
