:00:12. > :00:16.60 minutes of football taken right from the start. This is ridiculous!

:00:17. > :00:23.Touchdown! Unbelievable!

:00:24. > :00:31.The New England Patriots are the NFL champions.

:00:32. > :00:39.Happy new year. It's NFL Week 17, the end of the regular season. No

:00:40. > :00:43.next week, unless your team has a play-off place in the race to Super

:00:44. > :00:43.Bowl 50. Entering the final week's games,

:00:44. > :00:44.play-off place in the race to Super Bowl 50. Entering the final week's

:00:45. > :00:50.games, the play-off picture looks like this. In the NFC, we know all

:00:51. > :00:55.six play-off teams but not their seedings. Carolina and Arizona,

:00:56. > :00:58.champions of the South and West, will have a bye week in the first

:00:59. > :01:02.round of the play-offs, but both want the number one seed in the

:01:03. > :01:07.all-important home field advantage. Washington won the East and are

:01:08. > :01:10.guaranteed the number four slot. Green Bay and Minnesota go head to

:01:11. > :01:14.head for the North. The winner will be the number three seed. The loser

:01:15. > :01:19.will join Seattle as the two wildcards. In the AFC, eight teams

:01:20. > :01:23.are still chasing six places. New England are champions of the East

:01:24. > :01:27.and favourites for the number one seeding. Cincinnati have won the

:01:28. > :01:30.North. Denver and Kansas City are battling to win the West, although

:01:31. > :01:34.both are guaranteed a play-off place. Houston are favourites to win

:01:35. > :01:40.the South and with it the number four seeding. But they could be

:01:41. > :01:44.caught by Indianapolis with a raft of game-winning scenarios. The New

:01:45. > :01:49.York Jets have their destiny in their own hands for the final wild

:01:50. > :01:51.card spot, but should they slip up, Pittsburgh are waiting in the wings.

:01:52. > :01:54.Well, the final games of the regular Pittsburgh are waiting in the wings.

:01:55. > :02:00.Well, the final games of the regular season are all division match-ups.

:02:01. > :02:07.Overseeing the end of the nail-biting season is Osi Umenyiora.

:02:08. > :02:11.And keeping us all up to date with the coaching changes, Jason Bell.

:02:12. > :02:14.Now, our first action comes from the AFC wild card race, where the New

:02:15. > :02:14.York Jets had their destiny in their own

:02:15. > :02:17.AFC wild card race, where the New York Jets had their destiny in their

:02:18. > :02:21.own hands. When you're battling for the one

:02:22. > :02:25.remaining AFC wild card berth, there are two things you don't need. First

:02:26. > :02:29.is a trip to upstate New York, where Buffalo fans have been shovelling

:02:30. > :02:37.snow all week, and where the opposing head coach is Rex Ryan, the

:02:38. > :02:40.man the Jets fired a year ago. Secondly, is your nearest rivals,

:02:41. > :02:47.the Pittsburgh Steelers, cruising to a straightforward victory over the

:02:48. > :02:51.Cleveland Browns. It left the Jets with one simple

:02:52. > :03:00.fact - nothing but a win will be good enough.

:03:01. > :03:08.Third and three. Goes in motion. Seen some interesting sets here.

:03:09. > :03:14.Taylor. Taylor is still going! Taylor diving

:03:15. > :03:22.for the pylon! Tyron Taylor, touchdown, Buffalo.

:03:23. > :03:26.Wow. He's the fastest quarterback in the NFL. Right about there. That

:03:27. > :03:35.gives him the idea that, "Maybe I can make it to the pylon." And he

:03:36. > :03:38.does, as he beats Davis. Buffalo lead this one, seven to

:03:39. > :03:44.nothing. Fourth and one.

:03:45. > :03:55.Taylor. It's a blast up the middle. Williams. He's in! Touchdown,

:03:56. > :04:00.Buffalo. The touchdown stands for Carlos Williams.

:04:01. > :04:14.You know, he was playing to win. Oh. That's a direct hit on the snoz

:04:15. > :04:19.there. A bad couple of seconds there.

:04:20. > :04:24.Second and eight for the Jets. They trail 13 to nothing. Ten minutes to

:04:25. > :04:30.go into the second quarter. Again.

:04:31. > :04:36.He's there for the touchdown! Jets are on the board.

:04:37. > :04:44.A great read by Fitzpatrick. It was coming. He knew he had single

:04:45. > :04:47.coverage. And Mario Butler, a second-year player under veteran

:04:48. > :04:52.Marshall. Buffalo would go on a 15-play drive on the ensuing

:04:53. > :04:54.possession, ending in a 20-yard field goal from Dan Carpenter to

:04:55. > :05:13.close out the half and make it 16-7. Loses the football! The Jets are

:05:14. > :05:25.there! And they've got it. Huge turnover to open up this second

:05:26. > :05:29.half. That's his fourth recovery of the

:05:30. > :05:33.season. Looks like the right arm of Damon Harrison hit him on the right

:05:34. > :05:42.bicep and the ball comes out. Watch the long reach there.

:05:43. > :05:49.The New York Jets would go three and out after the turnover, but Randy

:05:50. > :05:56.Bullock kicked a 39-yard field goal to cut the lead to six points.

:05:57. > :05:59.Buffalo responded with a 14-play drive, culminating in a Carpenter

:06:00. > :06:02.field goal to restore the Bills' 9-point lead.

:06:03. > :06:24.Fitzpatrick, steps up, pulls the trigger. The Jets close the gap! And

:06:25. > :06:29.the Bills don't get to Fitzpatrick, because he can step up behind the

:06:30. > :06:36.blocking of Williams and Carpenter. Look at the hold for him. As Decker

:06:37. > :06:40.fakes out Graham at the 5-yard line. And Fitzpatrick with his eyes down

:06:41. > :06:43.the line, floats it off for the score. One-10, the play in the

:06:44. > :07:09.third. Buffalo, 19. Ryan Fitzpatrick's first trip back

:07:10. > :07:14.to Buffalo with a play-off start on the line. And the fourth quarter

:07:15. > :07:19.interception. Buffalo takes over a lead.

:07:20. > :07:24.Following the turnover, Buffalo put together a 13-play drive that would

:07:25. > :07:28.end with a 42-yard field goal to extend their lead. This meant the

:07:29. > :07:32.Jets would need a touchdown to advance to the post-season. Third

:07:33. > :07:38.and nine for the Jets, with two minutes to play. They trail Buffalo

:07:39. > :07:43.22-17. It's four down territory right now for the Jets.

:07:44. > :07:48.Shotgun, Fitzpatrick. He throws a wobbler!

:07:49. > :07:51.Lawson gets under it for the interception!

:07:52. > :07:58.A potential devastating ending for the Jets.

:07:59. > :08:02.Marcel Darrius, tremendous effort to get to the quarterback here.

:08:03. > :08:06.Fitzpatrick wanting to throw the long, high ball to his favourite

:08:07. > :08:11.receiver, Brandon Marshall. But Watson tracked it down for the

:08:12. > :08:16.interception. The Buffalo Bills are on the brink of spoiling the party

:08:17. > :08:18.for the Jets. And putting the Pittsburgh Steelers in the

:08:19. > :08:23.play-offs. The Jets cannot stop the clock.

:08:24. > :08:24.Getting lined up quickly here. Under 30 seconds now.

:08:25. > :08:38.Fitzpatrick. Knocked away!

:08:39. > :08:45.He had a clear path, if he secured it. Now it's Mario Butler again

:08:46. > :08:50.coming over and dislodging the ball from Tomkins. Tomkins can hang on to

:08:51. > :08:58.it or at least catch it on the rebound. He scores! 17 seconds left.

:08:59. > :09:09.The Jets, in desperation mode. Fitzpatrick.

:09:10. > :09:19.It's over! AJ! A painful ending to the Jets'

:09:20. > :09:22.season. It's the hardest, most difficult end to a season I've ever

:09:23. > :09:29.had, just in terms of how I feel right now and how painful of a loss

:09:30. > :09:33.that was. So, um, you know, I don't, at this point, it doesn't feel like

:09:34. > :09:38.a very - a very great season. Any team that's going home right now,

:09:39. > :09:43.it's a failure, because we play for one reason, and that's to win it

:09:44. > :09:47.all. So, you know, there's no more victories. No-one is gonna feel

:09:48. > :09:49.sorry for you. So, we just have to be men and, uh, deal with it. So,

:09:50. > :09:52.they'll deal with it. What did be men and, uh, deal with it. So,

:09:53. > :09:57.they'll deal with it. What did you put it down to - pressure? Pressure

:09:58. > :10:01.and the worst football they could possibly play, when it counted. You

:10:02. > :10:04.know, this offence was really clicking, and to see them play that

:10:05. > :10:10.bad at the stretch was disappointing. Yeah, but how good

:10:11. > :10:15.does Rex Ryan feel? I'm a fan of the Jets. Rex Ryan, they fired him. For

:10:16. > :10:18.him to knock that team out of the play-offs, unbelievable. Which is

:10:19. > :10:22.fair enough. But if you're a Buffalo fan, you're thinking, "Hang on a

:10:23. > :10:25.minute. You shouldn't just be fired up for games against your former

:10:26. > :10:30.team. We want you to be fired up for every game in the regular season."

:10:31. > :10:35.That's why they hired him as a head coach. Rex Ryan is known for making

:10:36. > :10:41.big games out of games he needs to - half win... But you know, like I

:10:42. > :10:44.know, most teams in that particular situation, who had nothing to play

:10:45. > :10:47.for, would have packed up their bags and went home. They would have done

:10:48. > :10:50.that already. But the Buffalo Bills showed a tremendous amount of

:10:51. > :10:55.character for playing the way they did. The Steelers are in the

:10:56. > :10:59.play-offs, of course. And, you know, they will - nobody will want to play

:11:00. > :11:03.them. We know who does play them, with you nobody will want to play

:11:04. > :11:06.them. Yeah, they have a lights-out offence. When you can score that

:11:07. > :11:10.fast and you're that explosive, everybody is scared to play against

:11:11. > :11:13.you, because you can be down and come back real quickly with big

:11:14. > :11:18.plays. And Ben has been there before. Experience will count a lot.

:11:19. > :11:21.Huge. Huge in the play-offs. You need players who have that kind of

:11:22. > :11:32.experience, and he definitely has that. OK. Well, if you want to get

:11:33. > :11:37.involved, then just use the hashtag. We will provide some answers. We've

:11:38. > :11:44.clarified one play-off quote, Pittsburgh now in as the sixth seed.

:11:45. > :11:48.There were still many permtations. For the Houston Texans, the task was

:11:49. > :11:52.simple - win and they were in as division champions. In the end, they

:11:53. > :11:57.held the Jacksonville Jaguars to just two field goals, while Jonathan

:11:58. > :12:02.Grimes had a 12-yard touchdown reception and added a 3-yard score

:12:03. > :12:08.in the second. For the Houston touchdown! Karim

:12:09. > :12:13.Jackson rounded out the victory with a 27-yard interception return, high

:12:14. > :12:18.stepping his way to the end zone, as Houston secured their first division

:12:19. > :12:24.title since 2012. They enter the play-offs as the AFC's number four

:12:25. > :12:28.seed. Cincinnati quarterback AJ overcame a rough start against the

:12:29. > :12:33.Baltimore ravens to throw a pair of touchdown passes, one to Tyler and

:12:34. > :12:40.the other to AJ. The rally in Cincinnati to a win that kept him in

:12:41. > :12:44.the running for a play-off bye. Jeremy Hill ran a 38-yard score on a

:12:45. > :12:51.fourth-and-one play in the third quarter that sealed the victory.

:12:52. > :12:54.Touchdown, Jeremy. This got Cincinnati to 12 wins, the same as

:12:55. > :12:59.the previous seasons when they reached the Super Bowl. New England

:13:00. > :13:05.put their number one season in jeopardy when they were upset by an

:13:06. > :13:12.aggressive Miami Dolphins outfit, who took control with touchdowns

:13:13. > :13:16.from Lavante and Jordan. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had a game to

:13:17. > :13:19.forget as the defending Super Bowl champions ended the regular season

:13:20. > :13:27.with just two wins in their final six games.

:13:28. > :13:30.The Kansas City Chiefs raced to an early lead against the spirited

:13:31. > :13:37.Oakland Raiders side as they looked to keep alive their hopes of an AFC

:13:38. > :13:41.Western Division title. Harris caught his only pass of the day for

:13:42. > :13:47.a 15-yard touchdown to round out the victory. What a catch! Touchdown.

:13:48. > :13:53.It's Harris. Along with Cincinnati and New England, Kansas City WOW to

:13:54. > :13:57.see what transpired in -- would have to see what transpired in Denver to

:13:58. > :14:01.see how the final AFC seedings would look. We're going to see the Denver

:14:02. > :14:05.game in just a moment, to see whether they could get home field

:14:06. > :14:08.advantage. I want the two of you to talk about the importance of home

:14:09. > :14:13.field advantage in the play-offs. If you take a look in the regular

:14:14. > :14:18.season, there isn't that much difference between home and away

:14:19. > :14:23.wins. In the last 15 years, in the play-offs and the post-season, 64%

:14:24. > :14:26.home wins, 36% away wins. Why do you think home advantage is so important

:14:27. > :14:29.at knockout football? At that time of the year, weather. Northern

:14:30. > :14:34.anything else? I think more than anything else. Because if you're a

:14:35. > :14:38.team that plays in bad weather and you're used to it, you have the

:14:39. > :14:42.advantage. Say you're a team that's played in domes, you come out in the

:14:43. > :14:46.elements, you can't run your offence the way you have been running it all

:14:47. > :14:48.year. Absolutely. The home teams have the advantage because I think

:14:49. > :14:52.what happens, most of the teams, when it comes to that time of the

:14:53. > :14:55.season, their bodies are beat up, they're injured, they don't feel

:14:56. > :14:59.that good, and then to have to get on the road and travel to an

:15:00. > :15:03.opposing team and play over there, I think that takes away from these

:15:04. > :15:06.teams. Would you put weather and travel ahead of home fans and

:15:07. > :15:09.supporters and the noise they make, for example, when the visiting side

:15:10. > :15:13.are on third down to try and make sure that nobody can hear? That's a

:15:14. > :15:18.minor part compared to weather and travel? Yeah, I think weather

:15:19. > :15:22.determines that. Definitely, man. You really are precious, aren't you?

:15:23. > :15:24.Oh! We don't want the weather to be too bad. Don't want to travel very

:15:25. > :15:28.far! LAUGHS

:15:29. > :15:33.To the final piece of the AFC play-off picture, then, in the west,

:15:34. > :15:39.pressure on Denver following the Kansas City Chiefs win.

:15:40. > :15:47.Also, home field advantage. A loss would see Kansas City win the West,

:15:48. > :15:54.meaning Denver would be a wild card and the number five seed having to

:15:55. > :15:59.travel toll Houston next week. There has been no regular season charge

:16:00. > :16:03.from San Diegoow. The Chargers have stayed rooted at California sea

:16:04. > :16:08.level. Whatever happens in the mountains of Colorado, they will not

:16:09. > :16:13.be making the play-offs. The Denver Broncos are going to the

:16:14. > :16:20.play-offs, but how high will they fly into them, and on whose arm will

:16:21. > :16:21.they be borne? Brock? He starts. Or the masters, Peyton Manning. Both

:16:22. > :16:37.ready to throw. Second and two. And another

:16:38. > :16:43.completion. This one to Thomas. And he got away from the defender and is

:16:44. > :16:51.still going. He hurtles past another Charger and takes it to the end zone

:16:52. > :16:57.for a touchdown. Jason won the best quarters in

:16:58. > :17:02.football. Not in this game today, twobl would have been on Demaryius

:17:03. > :17:08.Thomas in that situation. Such a big key in this offence. To get him

:17:09. > :17:11.started. Do his legs look fresh. San Diego responded with a ten-play

:17:12. > :17:16.drive on their first possession, ending with a 50-yard field goal

:17:17. > :17:25.from Josh Lambo to cut the lead to four points.

:17:26. > :17:27.This week, a 53-man roster on the practice field. First since

:17:28. > :17:32.September 2014. Everybody on the practice field.

:17:33. > :17:35.Third and one. A pass. Intercepted. Should have been caught. That's

:17:36. > :17:38.Steve Williams who had the fumble recovery earlier in the quarter. Now

:17:39. > :17:42.has his second pick-up of the season. Two takaways by Williams.

:17:43. > :17:47.This bounced off the hands of Norwood.

:17:48. > :17:52.A Bronco win here today, Phil, would give them the AFC West and the

:17:53. > :17:55.number one seed. The energy is great, by the crowd, by the football

:17:56. > :18:05.team. Another great situation and they're making big plays.

:18:06. > :18:12.They're gonna rule it on the field as a fumble and recovery by Square.

:18:13. > :18:17.Damian Square. Unblocked off the left edge. Williams has made now

:18:18. > :18:23.three plays in this game. You've gotta expect a blitz.

:18:24. > :18:24.He wasn't ready for it. I'm sure that's what Peyton Manning was

:18:25. > :18:35.telling him on the sideline. That's intercepted. The pass was

:18:36. > :18:47.influenced by the pressure. It's Philips on the run back. And Philips

:18:48. > :18:53.getting the chance to start. San Diego would go three and out

:18:54. > :18:54.following the turnover. But more field goal points from Lambo made it

:18:55. > :19:09.7-6 heading into half-time. Oh, another miscue by the Broncos.

:19:10. > :19:11.It comes out of the hands of Anderson, recovered by Adye and now

:19:12. > :19:19.a fifth turnover committed by Denver. Five turnovers. It's

:19:20. > :19:25.incredible. Third and eight. Rivers. In the

:19:26. > :19:32.packet with heat. To the end zone. It is caught. What an effort.

:19:33. > :19:36.Antonio Gates outbattles Keo for the football. And the Chargers have

:19:37. > :19:40.taken the lead. What a turn of events here in Denver. San Diego has

:19:41. > :19:43.taken the lead. And Peyton Manning has regained the quarterback

:19:44. > :19:49.position. Five turnovers by Denver today. I would say right now, Peyton

:19:50. > :19:53.has played in so many big games over the years. There's gotta be a lot of

:19:54. > :19:57.nerves and excitement, of course, going on for him right now. Having

:19:58. > :19:59.not played since November 15, and listen to this reaction as Peyton

:20:00. > :20:08.takes the field. CHEERING

:20:09. > :20:12.This crowd is thrilled. I didn't think there was anything, any

:20:13. > :20:16.scenario, that was gonna bring him out in this game. You face it in a

:20:17. > :20:21.different way. So much on the line. They've gotta make sure they cover

:20:22. > :20:27.their bases. That's why they put Peyton back in.

:20:28. > :20:30.Green, and he has a first down. Anderson back in now after this

:20:31. > :20:36.play, after fumbling the last time he handled it. Here goes Anderson.

:20:37. > :20:46.Inside the 30. Down to the 23. Watch Garcia, 73. Gets up the field.

:20:47. > :21:00.Makes the block against Teo. That's what does it. A touchdown for

:21:01. > :21:05.Anderson. It's not always about the throwing. Peyton Manning threw two

:21:06. > :21:10.short passes but he checked to the run that got him inside the one.

:21:11. > :21:16.After San Diego failed to convert on a fourth down in Denver territory,

:21:17. > :21:17.Manning led a 6-play drive that ended with a 48-yard McManus field

:21:18. > :21:31.goal. The Broncos led 17-13. It's Williams! Somehow he got free

:21:32. > :21:39.on the secondary and he jogs into the end zone to put the Chargers

:21:40. > :21:45.back in front! 80 yards! Rivers. To Tyrell Williams. A key to lead. Just

:21:46. > :21:46.lets Williams go right by him. Philip Rivers said time. Nobody

:21:47. > :21:59.around him. Tyrell Williams with his first NFL

:22:00. > :22:03.catch. Denver then went on a 7-play 63-yard drive that stalled in the

:22:04. > :22:08.red zone, after which McManus kicked a 35-yard field goal to tie the game

:22:09. > :22:14.at 20-20. Showing blitz. Will they do so? Ward

:22:15. > :22:22.backs off. They rush only three. Is Rivers in trouble. Down the middle.

:22:23. > :22:28.He's intercepted! It's picked up by Keo. Sidesteps and is tackled down

:22:29. > :22:32.at the 23. The ball went right through the

:22:33. > :22:38.hands of Williams. Wolf was getting close to him at the

:22:39. > :22:42.end there. Look at it. There it is. He's in there, goes through the

:22:43. > :22:50.hands. It would have been a tough catch. Peyton is saying, "Get down.

:22:51. > :22:52.We'll handle the rest." With 4.50 to go, and taking over at the San Diego

:22:53. > :22:58.23. To the end zone! Denver is back in

:22:59. > :23:09.front! Peyton Manning has led the Broncos

:23:10. > :23:14.to 20 second-half points, but this one set up by the interception, the

:23:15. > :23:17.first one off the line of scrimmage. Gates here on the right side. Here's

:23:18. > :23:22.the fourth and sixth play. Rivers has the time. Now break down on him

:23:23. > :23:25.and puts it in the middle of the field. Incomplete. Harris almost had

:23:26. > :23:29.the interception, but they're better off on the turnover on downs. And

:23:30. > :23:34.now you can pretty much lock it up for the wild card round on the AFC

:23:35. > :23:42.side. Peyton Manning, healthy, which he looked like he was. The defence,

:23:43. > :23:48.they can be anybody. I understand how Jim and Brock and

:23:49. > :23:53.Kurtis and Brock, the past three years has felt. You don't get many

:23:54. > :23:57.raps, at least when I have been a starter, you haven't. So, I got a

:23:58. > :24:01.good taste of that this week. Sometimes you just feel as though

:24:02. > :24:03.the team is looking around for that guy, or that, you know, that

:24:04. > :24:09.tremendous leadership type of stuff. You know? And that's what I felt.

:24:10. > :24:13.And I know Peyton, the last couple of weeks, they have been real good

:24:14. > :24:17.weeks. And I know he was ready to go. And I don't think Brock did

:24:18. > :24:20.anything wrock. You know, we had some turnovers, but he had nothing

:24:21. > :24:25.to do with. We could have helped him a lot. But just my gut told me to

:24:26. > :24:29.turn it over to him and let him lead the football team. Coach always

:24:30. > :24:35.preaches it takes all 46 guys on game day. And today that was truly

:24:36. > :24:37.the case. We won the AFC West and couldn't be any happier. As long as

:24:38. > :24:41.this football team wins games, that's all I care about. And that

:24:42. > :24:44.really is the truth. You know, football is the ultimate team sport.

:24:45. > :24:49.It takes an entire team to win. And I think we showed that today. So,

:24:50. > :24:53.you know, as long as this football team is winning games, shoot, I

:24:54. > :24:57.don't care who plays quarterback. The Denver Broncos, the number one

:24:58. > :25:00.seed in the AFC, but they got bigger problems than this. Why? Because

:25:01. > :25:05.they have a quarterback controversy. Now, why do they have a quarterback

:25:06. > :25:08.controversy? Because Peyton Manning, the greatest quarterback in the

:25:09. > :25:14.entire NFL's history, was playing terribly. And we're gonna show you a

:25:15. > :25:17.couple of those plays. Here he against the Kansas City Chiefs. He

:25:18. > :25:25.threw four interceptions. Look at this pass. Who is he throwing the

:25:26. > :25:32.ball to? Three Kansas City Chiefs are around him. What dot Broncos

:25:33. > :25:37.decide to do? They're gonna sit down their old guy and bring in the

:25:38. > :25:42.young, sexy, Brock. And he was playing really well for them. But in

:25:43. > :25:46.the play-offs, with everything on the line, those hands start to shake

:25:47. > :25:50.a little bit. His feet start to get jittery. Right here, he doesn't see

:25:51. > :25:53.the blitz. He lets the ball go, recovered by the San Diego Chargers.

:25:54. > :25:56.He was playing a terrible game right here. And so what did the Denver

:25:57. > :26:00.Broncos now decide to do? They here. And so what did the Denver

:26:01. > :26:06.what every single man does in a situation like that. They go back to

:26:07. > :26:09.their wife. And this is exactly - this is exactly why they went back

:26:10. > :26:10.to Peyton Manning. And you can see Peyton Manning right

:26:11. > :26:13.to Peyton Manning. And you can see Peyton Manning right here. The

:26:14. > :26:17.intelligence of this man. You can see the old Peyton Manning comeback.

:26:18. > :26:21.A check-down right here, moving the chain, getting them down the field.

:26:22. > :26:26.You see him over here with the next play. Watch this. Another check

:26:27. > :26:30.down. He finds his guy in the middle of the football field. Smart

:26:31. > :26:34.football. Look at that beautiful throw to at the time opposite side

:26:35. > :26:40.of the field. That is a great throw. The arm is back. It's live. You see

:26:41. > :26:44.Peyton Manning again, and look at him place the ball where only

:26:45. > :26:48.Sanders is going to be able to catch that. That is an incredible throw by

:26:49. > :26:54.Peyton Manning, as the old faithful guy comes back and he shows exactly

:26:55. > :26:56.why he is the greatest quarterback in the NFL, leading the

:26:57. > :27:00.why he is the greatest quarterback in the NFL, leading the Denver

:27:01. > :27:09.Broncos to at the time play-offs. We would like to say hello to Mrs Osi.

:27:10. > :27:11.Home field advantage for Denver. Given everything we have talked

:27:12. > :27:17.about, weather and altitude will be important? Yeah, I have played there

:27:18. > :27:20.many times. You go up there and start warming up, you realise you

:27:21. > :27:24.can't breathe. It's a hard place to start fast. That's an advantage for

:27:25. > :27:29.Denver. It's weird, because you look at the seeds now, a couple of weeks

:27:30. > :27:30.ago we were talking that Denver might not even make the

:27:31. > :27:33.ago we were talking that Denver might not even make the play-offs

:27:34. > :27:37.because of how things were lined up. Now they're the number one seeds and

:27:38. > :27:41.the Patriots are behind them. That's the NFL for you in a nutshell. You

:27:42. > :27:45.never can tell what's gonna happen from week to week. That's what makes

:27:46. > :27:49.the game incredible. Let's talk about the coaches, because once the

:27:50. > :27:55.regular season is over - sorry, the careers of several head coaches. We

:27:56. > :28:03.can take a look at the ones that are definitely gone so far. Tom Cough

:28:04. > :28:08.Cyclone Yasi lin, gone. A man you know -- Tom Coughlin, gone. A man

:28:09. > :28:08.you know well? Yeah, they let him have

:28:09. > :28:10.know -- Tom Coughlin, gone. A man you know well? Yeah, they let him

:28:11. > :28:14.have the last word and resigned. He did a lot for that organisation. Two

:28:15. > :28:19.Super Bowls. Big time. Right time to move on? Definitely. This is a team

:28:20. > :28:24.that hadn't made the play-offs in the last four seasons. That's

:28:25. > :28:33.unacceptable for the New York Giants. The other three to go - I'm

:28:34. > :28:35.interested in Tom Sueller and Kelly, because Kelly has made it known he

:28:36. > :28:40.would be interested in the 49ers. Would he be the right fit?

:28:41. > :28:45.Absolutely. No question about that. And the reason I say that is because

:28:46. > :28:51.of the presence of Colin Kaepernick. He is the type of quarterback Chip

:28:52. > :28:54.Kelly loves and he can run the offence Chip Kelly loves so much J

:28:55. > :28:58.no. Not a good fit. He's gonna try to do what he did in Philly and try

:28:59. > :29:04.to run everything. Run all departments. You don't think he's

:29:05. > :29:08.gonna learn from his mistakes? Jo I think he needs a year off. They need

:29:09. > :29:12.to go back, get a TV job, sit down, watch the games and figure out who

:29:13. > :29:18.they are, and restart the next year. But coaches can change. I mean,

:29:19. > :29:23.going back to Coughlin, he changed whilst you were at the Giants.

:29:24. > :29:29.Exactly. You know that better than anybody. But he didn't get fired!

:29:30. > :29:32.Listen, Kelly going to the San Francisco 49ers would be a great

:29:33. > :29:35.move for both sides. I would love to see him change literally right in

:29:36. > :29:40.front of your eyes. That would have been amazing! And I want to -

:29:41. > :29:44.there's a question mark over Peyton, and the Saints have made it known

:29:45. > :29:48.that they would accept a second-round draft pick in exchange

:29:49. > :29:51.for Peyton going. Although this a Giant-dominated chat, as there often

:29:52. > :29:55.is on this show with you two, you actually think he would be an ideal

:29:56. > :29:59.fit? I think so. Because the ownership knows him. He has been a

:30:00. > :30:05.Giant before. He can come in there, he can work with Eli and run the

:30:06. > :30:10.offence. I think he would be perfect J Shaun is as good as gone. If the

:30:11. > :30:13.team is letting it be known he can be a second-round pick, that's

:30:14. > :30:17.disrespectful to him as a coach. Secondly, I think that would be the

:30:18. > :30:21.right pick for him. The Giants need a coach to work - is that the most

:30:22. > :30:27.important thing, to work with Manning? That can handle him. He's

:30:28. > :30:33.going well. They have a good office now, in Ben. But Shawn Peyton is the

:30:34. > :30:36.right guy for that job. Seattle had a coach, who's definitely not in

:30:37. > :30:40.trouble, and he was wired for sound as the Sea Hawks took on the

:30:41. > :30:42.Cleveland Browns. They were looking for the victory that would qualify

:30:43. > :30:47.them for a play-off place. CHEERING

:30:48. > :30:51.CHEERS try to have some fun when you can.

:30:52. > :30:55.Absolutely. We lose you in the second half. Right. Are you on the

:30:56. > :30:57.other side? It's been nice knowing you, brother. It's 17-10, the Hawks

:30:58. > :31:17.over the Cleveland Browns. Come on! Russell takes a shotgun

:31:18. > :31:28.snap. Looks. Touchdown! (BLEEP) all day long! Whoo-hoo!

:31:29. > :31:33.I loved that one. I loved that one. Great job, buddy. (BLEEP) he's

:31:34. > :31:39.flipping them like burgers. Like that. Whoo! God, that's so good!

:31:40. > :31:44.Nice job, yeah. Terrific football game. Your boys played great on

:31:45. > :31:49.offence. First thing, you ain't done nothing yet. Well, today we did a

:31:50. > :31:52.little something today. Today, the Sea Hawks will be playing in the

:31:53. > :31:53.play-offs somewhere down the road here. Something

:31:54. > :31:59.play-offs somewhere down the road here. Something tells me he enjoyed

:32:00. > :32:04.that game. News of our the Sea Hawks got on later. But first, the NFC's

:32:05. > :32:08.Northern division champions had to be crowned. There are prizes along

:32:09. > :32:13.the way, titles to be taken on the trail to the big one, the Super

:32:14. > :32:20.Bowl. Here in the old football-mad city of Green Bay, there is the NFC

:32:21. > :32:22.North to be decided. The home town Packers, or the Minnesota Vikings,

:32:23. > :32:26.this is resolution, Northern-style. Both are through to the play-offs,

:32:27. > :32:27.but who might have the home tie there? Who will settle for the wild

:32:28. > :32:49.card? Looks like they've got McKinnon

:32:50. > :32:54.split out. Not the man coverage we might expect.

:32:55. > :32:59.Bridgewater gets chased. Jumping on top of him was Matthews at the

:33:00. > :33:04.14-yard line. Matthews going against his former

:33:05. > :33:09.team-mate at USC. He was a freshman, Matt was, when Clay Matthews was a

:33:10. > :33:13.senior. Clay Matthews had a little smool on his face when I asked him

:33:14. > :33:19.with him. He said, "I think I'll do all right." Minnesota would have to

:33:20. > :33:30.settle for a 39-yard field goal from Blair Walsh to give them a 6-3 lead.

:33:31. > :33:35.Adrian Peterson will have berthed a single touchdown. So, Adrian, it

:33:36. > :33:40.looked like he was stopped at just about the one-yard line. Extra burst

:33:41. > :33:47.and the touchdown. The front, very front edged as he crossed the play -

:33:48. > :33:51.no question. That's a touchdown. We're just seeing Aaron Rodgers make

:33:52. > :33:54.so many great plays. Who is it? Who's gonna make that play for them

:33:55. > :34:02.right now? Third and 12.

:34:03. > :34:08.He gets his arm hit as he throws. Is that a fumble? The Vikings are

:34:09. > :34:16.contending it is. For the moment, you've got Captain Munnerlyn going

:34:17. > :34:21.all the way to the end zone. And we're waiting for one official

:34:22. > :34:27.to say yay or nay here. Rodgers had that arm hit. Is that ball loose? If

:34:28. > :34:32.he pushes that ball forward after its loose, I think that's a fumble.

:34:33. > :34:34.I tell you who else did - Aaron Rodgers.

:34:35. > :34:38.UMPIRE: The ball is loose and pushed forward by an open hand. Touchdown,

:34:39. > :34:41.Minnesota. The arm is coming forward, you can have control of the

:34:42. > :34:48.ball, that's one thing. But this is a ball that's loose and then being

:34:49. > :34:53.pushed forward. And the Minnesota Vikings, with an extra point, will

:34:54. > :34:57.have a 3-possession lead. Second and 11 from the 16-yard line. And

:34:58. > :35:05.Rodgers... Boy, that secondary does its job

:35:06. > :35:08.again. This time he finds Richard Rodgers and he's in for the

:35:09. > :35:14.touchdown. Perfect protection that time. That's really what made that

:35:15. > :35:20.play. After forcing Minnesota to punt, Rodgers led an 8-play drive

:35:21. > :35:22.that ended with a 43-yard Mason Crosby field goal. The Vikings' lead

:35:23. > :35:36.was now seven. Patterson is very dangerous. Very

:35:37. > :35:42.dangerous. Into Green Bay territory.

:35:43. > :35:43.Uh-oh. And he loses the ball! The 30-yard line.

:35:44. > :35:58.And the Packers have it. And Mason Crosby got him.

:35:59. > :36:01.Unbelievable! He gets loose with the kicker chasing him from behind.

:36:02. > :36:07.Watch Crosby swat it out. What a play!

:36:08. > :36:12.I would say the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers find more ways to

:36:13. > :36:16.win games, the hail mary this year, the way they beat Chicago a couple

:36:17. > :36:19.of years, and special teams have been so good all year. I can't

:36:20. > :36:24.remember seeing a Packer make a play like that. He ran them down too. I

:36:25. > :36:30.mean, he chased them down. Probably one of the fastest guys in football.

:36:31. > :36:34.Fourth and goal. Adams out wide.

:36:35. > :36:43.Four rush. Seven cover. Rodgers!

:36:44. > :36:49.And it's intercepted in the end zone by Xavier Rhodes.

:36:50. > :36:53.James Jones the intended receiver, and so Minnesota will get the ball

:36:54. > :36:57.at the 20-yard line. Aaron Rodgers really had a chance on this ball

:36:58. > :37:01.that he threw the interception on. You'll see it all out here. He's

:37:02. > :37:05.gonna scramble around and make a throw all the way across his body.

:37:06. > :37:11.But there was so much room to work on the outside for James Jones. And

:37:12. > :37:18.for some reason, Aaron Rodgers threw it back inside. Green Bay will have

:37:19. > :37:23.one last shot. Boy, oh, boy, oh, boy. Could the Green Bay Packers'

:37:24. > :37:25.streak of division wins come down to yet another hail mary? So, 15

:37:26. > :37:38.seconds and third down. To Rodgers!

:37:39. > :37:43.And that's gonna take us, unless Aaron can spike it here. That's

:37:44. > :37:48.gonna do it. It's also fourth down, so can Rodgers spike it in time?

:37:49. > :37:54.He's gonna get one more play. One more miracle attempt. To the end

:37:55. > :37:59.zone. Can they do this again? No. LAUGHS

:38:00. > :38:04.Oh! Wow. What a game. It took every second, but they finally knocked the

:38:05. > :38:09.champs off in this division. Mike Zimmer took them a long time to get

:38:10. > :38:13.a head coaching job. Gets the Gatorade bath. Division champs.

:38:14. > :38:17.I think we played with a lot of heart tonight. We fought. It wasn't

:38:18. > :38:22.pretty by any stretch of the imagination. We've still got a long

:38:23. > :38:26.way to go. But I think that, uh, this football team has a lot of

:38:27. > :38:31.character. Um, and I'm proud of them today.

:38:32. > :38:34.Talk to me about that, Zimmer, because you've worked with him? I

:38:35. > :38:39.played with him as a rookie in Dallas. And not only was he a great

:38:40. > :38:42.teacher, but you actually felt like he really cared about you. And if

:38:43. > :38:46.you did make a mistake, he would get on you but he would correct it to

:38:47. > :38:50.make you a better player. He just didn't get on you to get on you. I

:38:51. > :38:53.make you a better player. He just didn't get on you to get on you. I

:38:54. > :38:56.really enjoyed playing under him. And the fact he cares about his

:38:57. > :39:00.players goes well as a head coach? Absolutely. That's what you see. He

:39:01. > :39:04.actually cares about them and you see the result. Absolutely. Now, on

:39:05. > :39:08.this programme, over several weeks, you've said that this catch and that

:39:09. > :39:12.catch, anybody can do. But because this catch has been done by a member

:39:13. > :39:15.of the defence, you think this is brilliant. That's a ridiculous

:39:16. > :39:19.catch, man. First of all, he's wearing number 33. You know it!

:39:20. > :39:23.Which is my man's number. You know it! You already know he's special.

:39:24. > :39:28.That was great. Look at the catch. Come on, man. That's one hand behind

:39:29. > :39:34.the back. Bringing it back in. Those 33s are special. They are very,

:39:35. > :39:37.very, very special. Time to round up the rest of the NFC. Only the number

:39:38. > :39:44.one seeding was the rest of the NFC. Only the number

:39:45. > :39:49.one seeding was up for grabs. The formerly undefeated Carolina

:39:50. > :39:56.Panthers spotted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a 3-point lead before

:39:57. > :40:02.bouncing back for touchdowns. Including two this superstar

:40:03. > :40:06.quarterback Newman. A 31-yard reception was added to the score.

:40:07. > :40:11.Carolina got victory, the number one seeding and the player bye for next

:40:12. > :40:15.week. Arizona were already assured a

:40:16. > :40:19.play-off bye when they welcomed Seattle to Glendale on Sunday. But

:40:20. > :40:23.Larry Fitzgerald scored the home team's only points as the Seattle

:40:24. > :40:28.Sea Hawks romped to a 30-point win on the same field where they lost

:40:29. > :40:32.the Super Bowl last February. Quarterback Russell Wilson made

:40:33. > :40:37.three touchdown passes in the second quarter burst to end Arizona's

:40:38. > :40:42.nine-game winning streak. Seattle in as the NFC's number six seed, with a

:40:43. > :40:49.trip to Minnesota next weekend their reward.

:40:50. > :40:55.Well, let's get a view from one of the NFC seeds, the Washington Red

:40:56. > :40:58.skins. Diangelo Hall, part of their defence, joins us. Thanks for

:40:59. > :41:02.talking to us. You have been at the Red skins seven years. What feels

:41:03. > :41:06.different in the locker room compared to previous years? The

:41:07. > :41:09.camaraderie. You know, I feel like the guys all have each other's back,

:41:10. > :41:14.no matter what situation might arise, good or bad. You know, I

:41:15. > :41:16.think we've done a good job of really just rallying around each

:41:17. > :41:20.other and really just trying to be great team-mates. And any time you

:41:21. > :41:26.have that evofling on a football team -- evolving on a football team,

:41:27. > :41:30.you have a chance to win games. Making the play-offs, we feel good

:41:31. > :41:34.about that but there's more to accomplish. Being a veteran guy in a

:41:35. > :41:38.locker room that's well respected, like you are, what are you saying to

:41:39. > :41:43.the younger guys about the play-offs in this experience? Just take full

:41:44. > :41:47.advantage of it. I can remember being a rookie going up to

:41:48. > :41:50.Philadelphia and playing an NFC championship game and not really

:41:51. > :41:53.understanding the magnitude of that game and not realising that it was,

:41:54. > :41:57.you know, that the game before the Super Bowl. But I look back now, 12

:41:58. > :42:01.years in the league, and I'm like, "Gosh, I don't know if I would have

:42:02. > :42:05.played any differently, but just from a mindset of knowing that I was

:42:06. > :42:08.that close and it's taken, you know, I didn't get back into play-offs

:42:09. > :42:12.again until 2010 here in Washington, and to finally get that chance again

:42:13. > :42:15.this year, I just want guys to take full advantage of it." Because you

:42:16. > :42:18.never know when you're gonna get another run at the play-offs. I

:42:19. > :42:23.think we'll all be geared up and ready to roll. We're in the UK, so

:42:24. > :42:27.nobody from Green Bay will see this - so, tell us how are you gonna beat

:42:28. > :42:31.the You know what, man? We're gonna do

:42:32. > :42:35.what everybody else has been doing? Trying to get pressure on Aaron

:42:36. > :42:39.Rodgers. If you let him sit back and throw it around, he can dice you up

:42:40. > :42:43.pretty good. I think teams that have beat them have really exploited that

:42:44. > :42:47.offensive line. They've gotten pressure with their front, made the

:42:48. > :42:51.back end cover up, played a lot of man cover, just to beat up the

:42:52. > :42:54.receivers. We'll take a bit from every team that's had success

:42:55. > :42:58.against them and try to implement it into our game plan. We wish you

:42:59. > :43:04.well. Thank you for talking to us. All right. No problem. We spend a

:43:05. > :43:07.lot of time talking about how anybody who makes wildcards would

:43:08. > :43:11.want Washington. That's who they'd want to go to. Do you think,

:43:12. > :43:16.actually, you're starting to change your view on that? Yeah, we were

:43:17. > :43:20.definitely just talking! I am aware of how the two of you just talk.

:43:21. > :43:24.Kurt cousins is looking very good. I'm very surprised that you can get

:43:25. > :43:28.the defensive game plan out of a player like that. That was pretty

:43:29. > :43:35.good. Thank you. Well, you know. We're taught not to do that. So...

:43:36. > :43:40.Wow. Good job. Amazing. Do you fancy Washington over the Packers? I think

:43:41. > :43:43.I would. And that's simply because whoever's playing the best football

:43:44. > :43:48.right now is usually who succeeds in the play-offs. And the Washington

:43:49. > :43:51.Red skins over the last month or so have been playing outstanding

:43:52. > :43:53.football. Green Bay, not so much. I definitely like Washington in this

:43:54. > :43:55.game. Let's take a definitely like Washington in this

:43:56. > :44:00.game. Let's take a look at the NFC seeds. Carolina do have the home

:44:01. > :44:03.advantage. Arizona, the number two seeds. Will they be affected at all

:44:04. > :44:08.by that thumping by Seattle? Yes. Yeah, they will. They've realised

:44:09. > :44:13.the power of Seattle and Seattle is rolling. Russell Wilson is playing

:44:14. > :44:16.lights-out. And Arizona blitzes and all he did was keep getting out of

:44:17. > :44:21.the pocket and making big plays down the field. Arizona has played well

:44:22. > :44:25.all year but you definitely don't want to get beat like that. They

:44:26. > :44:29.were looked as the best team outside of Carolina. To get thumped like

:44:30. > :44:33.that by Seattle, it's not gonna bode well for them. Let's look at the

:44:34. > :44:40.wild car schedule for the up-and-coming weekend.

:44:41. > :44:47.Cincinnati wobble as soon as they get into the play-offs? Yeah. Those

:44:48. > :44:50.teams are very similar, but Pittsburgh has their quarterback.

:44:51. > :44:56.And that's gonna be the big issue this game. Big Ben is gonna throw

:44:57. > :44:59.the ball all over the place. And psychologically, even though a

:45:00. > :45:03.roster change, a roster constantly changes, that rift can still affect

:45:04. > :45:08.you when you get into this stage? No doubt about it, Mark. I think the

:45:09. > :45:10.minute something goes wrong for Cincinnati, all those memories of

:45:11. > :45:14.the years past, where they made it to the play-offs and folded in the

:45:15. > :45:15.play-offs, all that is gonna come flooding back and

:45:16. > :45:16.play-offs, all that is gonna come flooding back and something bad is

:45:17. > :45:20.gonna happen to them. LAUGHS

:45:21. > :45:24.A positive way to end that segment! Let's round up the sights and sounds

:45:25. > :45:29.you may have missed over the last week. Bad things, man!

:45:30. > :45:35.This is only the invitation to the big dance. This is the start. And,

:45:36. > :45:43.coach, I think you deserve this. CHEERING

:45:44. > :45:49.That's how you finish the season, man! Something they'll never be able

:45:50. > :45:53.to take away from you, 15 and 1. The number one seed that comes through

:45:54. > :45:56.us. Now we've gotta get back to work, take care of our business.

:45:57. > :46:01.That's a great job being a team. Team, on three. One, two, three...

:46:02. > :46:04.ALL: Team! Hey!

:46:05. > :46:12.CHEERING Look at my hat.

:46:13. > :46:16.Hat! It has taken everybody we got, somehow, some way, but dhaz the way

:46:17. > :46:19.it should be. And that'sd -- but that's the way it should be. And

:46:20. > :46:22.that's the way it's gonna be the rest of the way. Congratulations,

:46:23. > :46:28.everybody. All we do is work. Work, on three. One, two, three!

:46:29. > :46:33.ALL: Work! So, our race to Super Bowl 50 has

:46:34. > :46:34.reached a decisive point. Let's recap the 12

:46:35. > :46:37.reached a decisive point. Let's recap the 12 teams that have

:46:38. > :46:41.qualified for the play-offs. Sfrorks the AFC, the four division -- so,

:46:42. > :46:45.for the AFC, the four division champions are:

:46:46. > :46:49.the two wildcards are Kansas City and Pittsburgh. Over in the NFC,

:46:50. > :46:54.Carolina and Arizona are seeds one and two. Minnesota and Washington

:46:55. > :46:58.are three and four. The wildcards are Green Bay and Seattle. Now, with

:46:59. > :47:03.the top two seeds of each conference getting a bye, wild card weekend

:47:04. > :47:07.shapes up like this. The higher-ranked team hosts the

:47:08. > :47:09.lower-ranked team. So, in the AFC, Cincinnati will hope bad things

:47:10. > :47:16.don't happen when they entertain Pittsburgh. Houston will host Kansas

:47:17. > :47:18.City. If you go into the NFC third-seeded Minnesota hosts

:47:19. > :47:20.Seattle, whilst Green Bay travel to Washington.

:47:21. > :47:22.Just time for Washington.

:47:23. > :47:26.Just time for a little bit of a social media. Robert Rhys has sent

:47:27. > :47:33.the NFL rookie question in this week:

:47:34. > :47:37.They have seven referees, but I only care about the ones that can throw

:47:38. > :47:41.pass interference calls. Those are the only ones I looked at. Seven.

:47:42. > :47:44.But there's one main guy? I don't know. I saw the ball, I saw the

:47:45. > :47:45.quarterback. I sacked the quarterback. That's it. Forget

:47:46. > :47:50.quarterback. I sacked the quarterback. That's it. Forget the

:47:51. > :47:55.officials. Forget them. We're play-off bound. Next up, wild card

:47:56. > :47:56.weekend. We will have commentary of the Green

:47:57. > :48:00.weekend. We will have commentary of the Green Bay Packers and the

:48:01. > :48:02.Washington team. We will see you next week, when

:48:03. > :48:04.there will We will see you next week, when

:48:05. > :48:11.there will be plenty more insight from these two. Goodbye.

:48:12. > :48:25.The cruel bite of the new year. 12 teams are through to the

:48:26. > :48:32.post-season. And of that dozen, the top four can sit back and watch. The

:48:33. > :48:35.Carolina Panthers can stretch out and enjoy the other eight, reducing

:48:36. > :48:41.themselves by half in the wild card range. And the Panthers, like the

:48:42. > :48:44.New England Patriots, the Arizona Cardinals and the Denver Broncos

:48:45. > :48:49.will stir. It is the rule from now on - for those that play in each

:48:50. > :48:54.round, the numbers halve until we have just the one. But tension

:48:55. > :49:02.mounts and the numbers fall in the race to Super Bowl 50.

:49:03. > :49:05.You'd better come in with a brilliant product.
