1:50:37 > 1:50:39on the move, touchdown.
1:50:41 > 1:50:44In possession, Arizona would march down the field on an eight-play drive
1:50:44 > 1:50:47culminating in a 28 yard Chandler Catanzaro field goal
1:50:47 > 1:50:49and that cut the Packers' lead

1:51:41 > 1:51:44he's got Floyd completely blanketed.
1:51:44 > 1:51:47And you're not going to catch that guy if he had caught that ball.
1:51:47 > 1:51:49Oh, my goodness.
1:51:49 > 1:51:53And Carson Palmer, as hard as it is right now,
1:51:53 > 1:51:55you have got to keep firing.
1:51:55 > 1:51:593-3 on third down on this drive. Ball at the nine.

1:52:21 > 1:52:25The ball is tipped by Damarious Randall.
1:52:25 > 1:52:28Looks like it's going to be intercepted by Casey Hayward.
1:52:28 > 1:52:31Instead, it's a touchdown to Michael Floyd.
1:52:31 > 1:52:33I have never seen anything like this game.
1:52:33 > 1:52:37One time-out plus the clock stops with the two-minute warning.
1:52:37 > 1:52:40Fourth down and five to 42.
1:52:40 > 1:52:43And they do snap it, throw it,
1:52:43 > 1:52:46no good.
1:52:46 > 1:52:49And Green Bay, I agree with you, I thought they would punt it
1:52:49 > 1:52:54because now Arizona's already in field goal range.
1:52:54 > 1:52:56Well, this play can take you down to the two-minute warning,
1:52:56 > 1:52:59assuming they don't pick up the first down.
1:53:00 > 1:53:02Ball at the 22 yard line.
1:53:05 > 1:53:07They're going to the end zone.

1:53:10 > 1:53:14- Wow.- And Sam Shields covers and it's third down and eight.
1:53:14 > 1:53:16I mean, you take it to the two-minute warning
1:53:16 > 1:53:19and then run off another 40 seconds.
1:53:19 > 1:53:20Mm-mm-mm.
1:53:20 > 1:53:24Bruce Arians, a gutsy play-caller but I don't believe that one.
1:53:25 > 1:53:28The clock mismanagement hurt Arizona
1:53:28 > 1:53:32but another Catanzaro kick extended their lead to 20-13.
1:53:32 > 1:53:35Green Bay got the ball back with less than two minutes left with one
1:53:35 > 1:53:40last chance to even the score and force overtime.
1:53:40 > 1:53:43So it's fourth and 20 and it's the whole ballgame for Green Bay
1:53:43 > 1:53:45to stay alive.
1:53:45 > 1:53:47End of the game here if they don't get 20 yards.
1:53:50 > 1:53:53Here goes Rodgers again. All the way down.
1:53:53 > 1:53:56It's going to be caught by Janis at the 35 yard line.
1:53:57 > 1:54:01How in the world, against that defence, do you get a guy free?
1:54:01 > 1:54:0461 yards on a fourth and 20.
1:54:04 > 1:54:08Second down, forget the 15. It's all about five seconds.
1:54:08 > 1:54:10They've got to bring pressure.
1:54:10 > 1:54:14Well, they did the last time too, which I thought was pretty smart.
1:54:14 > 1:54:17They got Rodgers back-peddling.
1:54:17 > 1:54:19They reset Starks.
1:54:19 > 1:54:21They are going to bring pressure again.
1:54:21 > 1:54:23Rogers is going to roll away.
1:54:23 > 1:54:27Throws it up in the air, says a prayer and Janis...!
1:54:27 > 1:54:30- Oh, stop it!- Please.
1:54:30 > 1:54:32- What a catch!- That's insane!
1:54:35 > 1:54:39Oh, my, that may be one of the great throws ever made.
1:54:39 > 1:54:44Moving to his left, falling away and launching a perfect throw.
1:54:44 > 1:54:48That's insane. Go back. Of course we have to watch this again.
1:54:48 > 1:54:50Did he have control?
1:54:50 > 1:54:55I think he had control for a moment and then it was Rashad Johnson.
1:54:55 > 1:54:56Is there control right there?
1:54:56 > 1:55:00And now Rashad Johnson comes in and punches it out.
1:55:00 > 1:55:03- That's the way I would see that. - The verdict.
1:55:03 > 1:55:06After reviewing the play, the ruling on the field stands as called,
1:55:06 > 1:55:08it is a touchdown.
1:55:08 > 1:55:12There aren't a handful of quarterbacks in the history
1:55:12 > 1:55:16of the National Football League that are athletic enough to make
1:55:16 > 1:55:21that turn, that pivot, and strong enough armed to get it into
1:55:21 > 1:55:23the end zone. And they have a chance
1:55:23 > 1:55:26to win two games on plays just like that.
1:55:26 > 1:55:27This is insane.
1:55:29 > 1:55:32The shield is heads, the T side is tails.
1:55:32 > 1:55:34Green Bay, visiting team, it's your choice.
1:55:34 > 1:55:36Tails is the call. Tails is the call.
1:55:38 > 1:55:41THEY ARGUE OVER ONE ANOTHER
1:55:41 > 1:55:43It didn't flip, it didn't flip, it didn't flip.
1:55:43 > 1:55:45I'M going to flip!
1:55:45 > 1:55:48- Oh, please, you can't make any of this up.- It is heads.
1:55:51 > 1:55:53So, wait a second, it didn't flip?
1:55:54 > 1:55:57The coin went up and didn't flip.
1:55:59 > 1:56:02So now Arizona from the 20 yard line.
1:56:03 > 1:56:05Blitz coming, Matthews.
1:56:05 > 1:56:08Palmer stepping away at first, Palmer extending the play.
1:56:08 > 1:56:11- Nobody there.- Crosses the field. Larry Fitzgerald.
1:56:11 > 1:56:15Fitzgerald is going to take it into Green Bay territory.
1:56:15 > 1:56:19- Larry Fitzgerald inside the 30, the 20...- If he scores, it's over.
1:56:19 > 1:56:22Larry Fitzgerald is insane! For the four yard line.
1:56:24 > 1:56:28One of the greatest postseason performers ever.
1:56:28 > 1:56:30His OA postseason was one for the ages.
1:56:30 > 1:56:34As great as it was by Fitzgerald, it may be better by Carson Palmer.
1:56:34 > 1:56:36Watch this.
1:56:36 > 1:56:39Escapes, somehow finds Fitzgerald across the field to set this
1:56:39 > 1:56:42entire thing up.
1:56:42 > 1:56:44And this was a huge tackle at the end because
1:56:44 > 1:56:46if Fitzgerald scores it's over.
1:56:48 > 1:56:52Much tighter formation this time out of the shotgun.
1:56:52 > 1:56:54Brown is the motion man.
1:56:54 > 1:56:56Little flip to Fitzgerald, he scores!
1:56:58 > 1:57:01And the Cardinals win an amazing game.
1:57:08 > 1:57:10You know, it's just the way it goes.
1:57:10 > 1:57:12It comes down to a coin flip sometimes after a long
1:57:12 > 1:57:14and hard-fought game back and forth.
1:57:14 > 1:57:17Plays made...
1:57:17 > 1:57:21Bizarre plays made by both teams and unfortunately it comes down to that.
1:57:21 > 1:57:24Yeah, we've been working on the shovel for I don't know how long.
1:57:24 > 1:57:26I can't tell you how many times I've run that shovel in practice
1:57:26 > 1:57:30just waiting for my opportunity and, lo and behold, the second
1:57:30 > 1:57:34round of the play-offs you get your number called for a shovel.
1:57:34 > 1:57:35My eyes lit up in the huddle.
1:57:38 > 1:57:39The Arizona Cardinals
1:57:39 > 1:57:44and the Green Bay Packers played one of the best games in recent memory.
1:57:44 > 1:57:47Two players who stood out - Larry Fitzgerald
1:57:47 > 1:57:50and, from the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers.
1:57:50 > 1:57:52Now here you're going to see Aaron Rodgers.
1:57:52 > 1:57:54First of all, he's a quarterback
1:57:54 > 1:57:56and most people know I don't really like quarterbacks.
1:57:56 > 1:57:58As a matter of fact, I hate them.
1:57:58 > 1:58:00But you've got to give credit where credit is due,
1:58:00 > 1:58:03Aaron Rodgers played a magnificent football game.
1:58:03 > 1:58:07Right here you're going to see the pressure come from Dwight Freeney

1:58:09 > 1:58:11And watch this play right here.
1:58:11 > 1:58:14Watch this guy right here as he rolls out of the pocket,
1:58:14 > 1:58:17he doesn't even get his feet set.
1:58:17 > 1:58:18Watch his feet.
1:58:18 > 1:58:22Now, you're told as a quarterback to always plant that foot and throw.
1:58:22 > 1:58:24Watch Aaron Rodgers make this throw right here.
1:58:24 > 1:58:27Doesn't even get his feet to set and throws the ball
1:58:27 > 1:58:2940, 50 yards down the football field.
1:58:29 > 1:58:33That is an incredible play by Aaron Rodgers.
1:58:33 > 1:58:37Unbelievable play, to say the least. And he's not done yet.
1:58:37 > 1:58:40Whatever church Aaron Rodgers is going to, I'm going
1:58:40 > 1:58:43there next week and I'm going to tell you why.
1:58:43 > 1:58:46This guy has completed two Hail Marys in the same season.
1:58:46 > 1:58:49Most quarterbacks don't complete one Hail Mary in their life.
1:58:49 > 1:58:53Watch Aaron Rodgers here as the pressure is going to come
1:58:53 > 1:58:54from him again.
1:58:55 > 1:58:59And he's going to do the exact same thing, roll out this way
1:58:59 > 1:59:01and watch this play right here.
1:59:03 > 1:59:06Pressure comes, he rolls out, throws the ball,
1:59:06 > 1:59:09saying his prayers as he throws the ball and the receiver is going
1:59:09 > 1:59:11to high-point the ball and make an incredible...
1:59:11 > 1:59:13Look at him close his eyes. He was just like,
1:59:13 > 1:59:17"Hail Mary, full of grace, help me out here."
1:59:17 > 1:59:20And the receiver made a great play for him, bailing him out.
1:59:20 > 1:59:22Unbelievable.
1:59:22 > 1:59:26But, not to be outdone, here comes Larry Legend,

1:59:54 > 1:59:57to run a drag route across the field.
1:59:57 > 2:00:00Now, he's going to see his quarterback get in trouble
2:00:00 > 2:00:02and what is he going to do?
2:00:02 > 2:00:04All receivers are taught, come back to the ball
2:00:04 > 2:00:06when your quarterback's in trouble and that's what he does.
2:00:06 > 2:00:09Houdini over here is making people miss, throws the ball to
2:00:09 > 2:00:13Larry Fitzgerald and watch Larry run it like a bull in a china shop.
2:00:13 > 2:00:14"Get off me, get off me!"
2:00:14 > 2:00:19"What did the five fingers say to the face? Slap!"
2:00:19 > 2:00:22As he goes all the way to the five yard line,
2:00:22 > 2:00:25Larry Fitzgerald making incredible plays and Bruce Arians,
2:00:25 > 2:00:28his head coach, isn't going to forget about him.
2:00:28 > 2:00:30He's going to bring him into motion right here,
2:00:30 > 2:00:33lined up in the back field where a running back usually would be
2:00:33 > 2:00:35and he's going to give him the shovel pass.
2:00:35 > 2:00:38This is an incredible play by the Arizona Cardinals.
2:00:38 > 2:00:40Larry Fitzgerald getting it in.
2:00:40 > 2:00:44What a great game we had between Arizona and Green Bay.
2:00:46 > 2:00:47Thanks very much, Osi.
2:00:47 > 2:00:51So, Arizona through to the NFC Championship Game where
2:00:51 > 2:00:55they would either host the Seattle Seahawks or travel to Carolina.
2:00:59 > 2:01:00The Seattle Seahawks,
2:01:00 > 2:01:05the reigning back-to-back champions of their conference, the NFC.
2:01:05 > 2:01:07Even when you're the number one seeds,
2:01:07 > 2:01:10which the Carolina Panthers most certainly are,
2:01:10 > 2:01:14you have to be wary when these Seahawks come to Charlotte.
2:01:14 > 2:01:17The Seahawks are wild cards but with pedigree.
2:01:17 > 2:01:21They have met already this season in Seattle when, with the seconds
2:01:21 > 2:01:25ticking away, the Panthers showed some pedigree of their own -
2:01:25 > 2:01:27a Cam Newton to Greg Olsen special.
2:01:27 > 2:01:30That was then, this is now.
2:01:38 > 2:01:41And offence to Jonathan Stewart and a good start to his day.
2:01:44 > 2:01:49Inside the 40. Sherman gets to him and brings him down inside the 20.
2:01:49 > 2:01:51What a start and welcome back.
2:01:51 > 2:01:53You see right guard Trai Turner and
2:01:53 > 2:01:55then Mike Tolbert also is going to get the linebacker
2:01:55 > 2:01:59in the hole and it opens up a nice lane to start this game.
2:01:59 > 2:02:02For Jonathan Stewart, who has missed the last three games,
2:02:02 > 2:02:04what a heck of a way to start.
2:02:07 > 2:02:08It's Stewart.
2:02:08 > 2:02:09Touchdown.
2:02:12 > 2:02:16Wilson. Just got it away. There's Kuechly.
2:02:16 > 2:02:18Touchdown Carolina.
2:02:21 > 2:02:23This time, Kawann Short, he swims.
2:02:23 > 2:02:26Justin Britt, left guard, forces the pressure
2:02:26 > 2:02:30and an errant throw by Russell Wilson and Luke Kuechly makes
2:02:30 > 2:02:33a habit of returning these interceptions for touchdown.
2:02:33 > 2:02:36That's his fifth of the season. It's his second touchdown.
2:02:38 > 2:02:40Frustration for the Seattle defence
2:02:40 > 2:02:43and a lot of conversations going on on the far side line.
2:02:43 > 2:02:46A lot of conversation, more than we typically see.
2:02:46 > 2:02:49A lot of guys during those breaks trying to figure out exactly
2:02:49 > 2:02:50what's going on.
2:02:50 > 2:02:53It has been a long time since we've seen Seattle get handled the way
2:02:53 > 2:02:56they've been handled here through the first quarter.
2:02:56 > 2:02:57Second and goal.
2:02:59 > 2:03:01Stuart again leaps,
2:03:01 > 2:03:03got it, touchdown.
2:03:04 > 2:03:07I don't know if at any point in the second quarter with 14 minutes
2:03:07 > 2:03:10to play you'd say, "Wow, this is really an important possession,"
2:03:10 > 2:03:13but that's what that is right now for the Seattle offence.
2:03:13 > 2:03:15They've got to establish something quick.
2:03:15 > 2:03:19Yeah, and as he threw it he's picked off again.
2:03:19 > 2:03:20Intercepted by Finnegan.
2:03:21 > 2:03:25Mario Addison comes off the edge, he's right around Russell Okung.
2:03:25 > 2:03:27He's the one who applies the pressure
2:03:27 > 2:03:29and forces another errant throw
2:03:29 > 2:03:31that results in an interception.
2:03:31 > 2:03:34Carolina converted the turnover into points,
2:03:34 > 2:03:37with a Graham Gano field goal making it 24-0.
2:03:37 > 2:03:39After Seattle went three and out,
2:03:39 > 2:03:43Carolina got the ball back with less than eight minutes left in the half.
2:03:45 > 2:03:48Carolina four for five on third down, third and 14.
2:03:52 > 2:03:54End zone. Olsen!
2:03:54 > 2:03:57Leaping catch for the touchdown!
2:03:59 > 2:04:01You think Cam Newton hasn't changed his game?
2:04:01 > 2:04:04How about that throw to Greg Olsen?
2:04:04 > 2:04:07The ball is just put in a perfect place.
2:04:07 > 2:04:10Greg Olsen's been making plays like that ever since he arrived.
2:04:10 > 2:04:12Nothing went right for Pete Carroll
2:04:12 > 2:04:15and the Seahawks here in the first half.
2:04:15 > 2:04:18Everything seemed to go right for Carolina.
2:04:22 > 2:04:23Trying to get on the board.
2:04:23 > 2:04:25End zone, Kearse.
2:04:25 > 2:04:27Touchdown.
2:04:27 > 2:04:30And in less than a minute and a half off the clock here
2:04:30 > 2:04:34in the second half, the Seahawks are in the end zone and on the board.
2:04:38 > 2:04:39On third down, Newton.
2:04:41 > 2:04:43In trouble and...
2:04:43 > 2:04:46Cleaning up was the rookie Frank Clark.
2:04:46 > 2:04:48They were able to make a key stop,
2:04:48 > 2:04:51give the ball back to their offence and those are the things
2:04:51 > 2:04:53that are going to have to continue for the Seattle team.
2:04:53 > 2:04:55They don't get it here on third and 11,
2:04:55 > 2:04:57another decision for Pete Carroll.
2:04:58 > 2:05:00Blitz off the edge.
2:05:00 > 2:05:02Seahawks pick it up.
2:05:02 > 2:05:03Lockett in the end zone.
2:05:03 > 2:05:05He's got it! Touchdown!
2:05:05 > 2:05:08What a catch by the rookie, working on Kurt Coleman.
2:05:11 > 2:05:13Seattle climbs right back in it here.
2:05:13 > 2:05:16Trying to make it now a ten-point game with a touchdown.
2:05:16 > 2:05:18On third down and goal, out to his right.
2:05:18 > 2:05:21Now spinning around, in a ton of trouble.
2:05:21 > 2:05:24This one is caught for the touchdown!
2:05:25 > 2:05:27Kearse!
2:05:27 > 2:05:29And Russell Wilson, he's able to buy some time,
2:05:29 > 2:05:33and you see the job he does of scrambling
2:05:33 > 2:05:36and then allowing his guy to go up and make a play on this ball.
2:05:36 > 2:05:39Just a terrific job by Russell Wilson.
2:05:39 > 2:05:41Josh Norman trying to stay with him,
2:05:41 > 2:05:44but what a finish on that drive to come away with the touchdown.
2:05:44 > 2:05:45Third and seven.
2:05:45 > 2:05:47Olsen not out there.
2:05:47 > 2:05:50Handoff to Tolbert, won't get it.
2:05:50 > 2:05:52And it's fourth down.
2:05:52 > 2:05:55The clock continues to run, with under 3.5 left.
2:05:55 > 2:05:57Seattle about to get it back.
2:05:57 > 2:05:59The second half has been fantastic.
2:05:59 > 2:06:03But the hole was deep, 31 points at the half.
2:06:06 > 2:06:07Wilson, end zone,
2:06:07 > 2:06:09Kearse, incomplete.
2:06:10 > 2:06:11No flag.
2:06:12 > 2:06:15Hauschka will attempt a 36-yarder, he's missed from 55.
2:06:16 > 2:06:20Prior to that he was 14-14 in his postseason career.
2:06:22 > 2:06:24This to make it a one-score game.
2:06:27 > 2:06:30And hope is kept alive.
2:06:30 > 2:06:34Down 31-0 on the road against this good Carolina team,
2:06:34 > 2:06:36the number one seed.
2:06:36 > 2:06:40Russell Wilson, who has not been in a position like that
2:06:40 > 2:06:43in his young NFL career, he didn't quit.
2:06:43 > 2:06:46Pete Carroll didn't quit, and here they are, in a seven-point game,
2:06:46 > 2:06:48but now they need to recover an onside kick.
2:06:51 > 2:06:53Good hop.
2:06:53 > 2:06:55And it's recovered by Carolina!
2:07:02 > 2:07:05It looked like Davis, and it is. Thomas Davis...
2:07:06 > 2:07:09..is there behind that initial front.
2:07:11 > 2:07:13And the 11-year vet,
2:07:13 > 2:07:15who's had some journey, is there to
2:07:15 > 2:07:18receive the onside kick drive from Hauschka.
2:07:18 > 2:07:22And that was not an easy play for him to make, he had to go get it.
2:07:23 > 2:07:26Get the ball and know that Derek Coleman, number 40 for Seattle,
2:07:26 > 2:07:28was right there.
2:07:28 > 2:07:31And the Carolina Panthers
2:07:31 > 2:07:34are headed to their fourth NFC Championship Game
2:07:34 > 2:07:37with a seven-point win here at home, over Seattle.
2:07:39 > 2:07:42We didn't play as well as I thought we needed to in the second half.
2:07:42 > 2:07:46We did things that we were supposed to do and won the football game.
2:07:46 > 2:07:47That's the bottom line.
2:07:47 > 2:07:51I just think they came out faster than we did. We came out flat.
2:07:51 > 2:07:55They was being opportunistic, with Luke Kuechly interception,
2:07:55 > 2:07:57then Cortland Finnegan interception.
2:07:57 > 2:08:01They just made the plays when they was presented to them.
2:08:01 > 2:08:04So hats off to them. Unfortunately, they was the better team today.
2:08:04 > 2:08:08You can look at this game as kind of like a microcosm of the season.
2:08:08 > 2:08:11We struggled so much earlier in the year earlier to get going.
2:08:11 > 2:08:12It took us a long time.
2:08:12 > 2:08:15And when we finally did, we caught fire and we got rolling.
2:08:17 > 2:08:20Everybody in here feels like we just ran out of time.
2:08:20 > 2:08:22There wasn't quite enough time to get this thing done.
2:08:22 > 2:08:25We're not worried about the Super Bowl, that's irrelevant.
2:08:25 > 2:08:29Right now, we're focused on the Arizona Cardinals.
2:08:29 > 2:08:31And, you know...
2:08:31 > 2:08:34Great win today, great team win today.
2:08:34 > 2:08:38We've just got to put it together, to find a way to win
2:08:38 > 2:08:42on Sunday, or Saturday...? I'm not sure when we're playing.
2:08:42 > 2:08:44I'd love to do a whole chat about that hat,
2:08:44 > 2:08:46but we don't have the time.
2:08:46 > 2:08:48And we've done loads on Cam, so let's do something else.
2:08:48 > 2:08:52- First of all, Greg Olsen, who is his number one go-to man.- Absolutely.
2:08:52 > 2:08:55And if you have a great tight end, as a quarterback,
2:08:55 > 2:08:58that's the perfect outlet. Because you always know where he is.
2:08:58 > 2:09:02He pretty much knows the offence as well as you do, and he's versatile.
2:09:02 > 2:09:04And I know you want to praise their defence as well
2:09:04 > 2:09:07- but at the same time, looking at maybe their one weakness?- Yeah.
2:09:07 > 2:09:09They are a great defence.
2:09:09 > 2:09:12They do a great job when they get pressure on the quarterback.
2:09:12 > 2:09:15But whenever the quarterback gets outside of the pocket,
2:09:15 > 2:09:16he does the damage to them.
2:09:16 > 2:09:19It's because they don't do a good job with matching up as
2:09:19 > 2:09:21the quarterback scrambles down the field,
2:09:21 > 2:09:24because they're used to that ball getting out very fast.
2:09:24 > 2:09:27So they're vulnerable to a big play, like we saw against Atlanta,
2:09:27 > 2:09:30which was their only defeat in the regular season.
2:09:30 > 2:09:32Absolutely, that is their problem.
2:09:32 > 2:09:35You cannot give up big plays in the passing game,
2:09:35 > 2:09:37and that's where Carolina is extremely vulnerable,
2:09:37 > 2:09:38like you said earlier.
2:09:38 > 2:09:41Later on in the season - I know we're at the end,
2:09:41 > 2:09:43but later on - this is going to come back to bite them.
2:09:43 > 2:09:47This, at the time, wasn't the same situation where
2:09:47 > 2:09:50they have been vulnerable to a lot of big plays, which is
2:09:50 > 2:09:52when they've had a massive lead.
2:09:52 > 2:09:55And then, I suppose - and that wasn't the case in this game -
2:09:55 > 2:09:58but I suppose then, teams have had to roll out their big plays
2:09:58 > 2:09:59and take greater risks,
2:09:59 > 2:10:02which then makes them seem more vulnerable, do you see what I mean?
2:10:02 > 2:10:05Yeah, yeah. And that's the way you've got to look at it.
2:10:05 > 2:10:07They're getting a lot more deep passes down the field,
2:10:07 > 2:10:09because you have to. People are behind,
2:10:09 > 2:10:12they've to take shots. And some of those work out.
2:10:12 > 2:10:14Let's go back to the Arizona game.
2:10:14 > 2:10:18When we had Bruce Arians on this show two or three weeks ago
2:10:18 > 2:10:21and we asked about the play-offs and Carson Palmer,
2:10:21 > 2:10:24he said that he thought Carson Palmer might be nervous going to these
2:10:24 > 2:10:28play-offs because he's never had a postseason win, up until this game.
2:10:28 > 2:10:29Did he look nervous for you?
2:10:29 > 2:10:31That's a man who knows his quarterback.
2:10:31 > 2:10:34Obviously, he hasn't played well in play-off situations.
2:10:34 > 2:10:37And honestly, he didn't play well in this game.
2:10:37 > 2:10:38His defence bailed him out.
2:10:38 > 2:10:40Larry Fitzgerald playing the way he did bailed him out also.
2:10:40 > 2:10:43A little bit of luck as well, as we can see, again.
2:10:43 > 2:10:47He was very shaky. He cannot afford to play like that next week.
2:10:47 > 2:10:48Yeah, absolutely.
2:10:48 > 2:10:51And when he got that tip pass that went in for the score,
2:10:51 > 2:10:52it kind of clicked for him.
2:10:52 > 2:10:55He kind of went, maybe I can do this, you know?
2:10:55 > 2:10:56But before that he was very shaky,
2:10:56 > 2:10:59and that's why he did start going to Larry Fitzgerald.
2:10:59 > 2:11:01Cos that's the guy he can depend on.
2:11:01 > 2:11:03- He was sensational, wasn't he? - He's a beast!
2:11:03 > 2:11:05LAUGHTER
2:11:05 > 2:11:07- He's got it, man. - Love Larry, love Larry.
2:11:07 > 2:11:08And he's done this before,
2:11:08 > 2:11:11- in his last run to the Super Bowl. - Who'll win?
2:11:11 > 2:11:13Who'll win this NFC Championship?
2:11:13 > 2:11:15Carolina.
2:11:15 > 2:11:18It hurts my heart, but I'm going to go with Carolina this week, man.
2:11:18 > 2:11:20I'm tired of picking against them.
2:11:20 > 2:11:23It's not that I think they're a bad team, it's just that I can't,
2:11:23 > 2:11:26I can't with the dab, man. It just gets to me, man.
2:11:26 > 2:11:29How can Arizona win, if in any way?
2:11:29 > 2:11:32Well, they have to stop the run.
2:11:32 > 2:11:35And then they've got to prevent the deep pass,
2:11:35 > 2:11:37because that's what they do well.
2:11:37 > 2:11:39They're a run team that can get the ball down the field.
2:11:39 > 2:11:41And honestly, what they can't allow
2:11:41 > 2:11:43is for Carolina to jump out to that big lead.
2:11:43 > 2:11:46- The last thing that can happen for the Arizona Cardinals.- OK.
2:11:46 > 2:11:50Thank you. Now, if you want to get involved, just use #RaceToSB50
2:11:50 > 2:11:52or if you're new to the sport, #NFLRookie,
2:11:52 > 2:11:54with any question you may have.
2:11:54 > 2:11:58And last week, Jason was in Cincinnati for the wild card play-off
2:11:58 > 2:12:01as the Pittsburgh Steelers came to town.
2:12:01 > 2:12:02It wasn't his fault,
2:12:02 > 2:12:04but he was on the sidelines when the game got heated.
2:12:04 > 2:12:07Blame it on me.
2:12:07 > 2:12:08Play big! Play big! Let's go!
2:12:14 > 2:12:15Come here! Come here!
2:12:15 > 2:12:17I got you! I got you!
2:12:25 > 2:12:27We need to get everybody out there.
2:12:27 > 2:12:28Like, now.
2:12:33 > 2:12:34That's very rude.
2:12:36 > 2:12:37That wasn't nice.
2:12:38 > 2:12:41What a hit by Shazier on Bernard,
2:12:41 > 2:12:43and Gio is not getting up.
2:12:45 > 2:12:47Helmet to helmet, defence's receiver.
2:12:47 > 2:12:49Jeremy Hill going out on the field.
2:12:49 > 2:12:52That's not football, man!
2:12:52 > 2:12:56And this is getting a little bit ugly now.
2:12:56 > 2:12:58They want a wrestling match!
2:12:58 > 2:13:00We're going to give it to them.
2:13:00 > 2:13:04Pocket closes, his pass too high. And incomplete for Heath Miller.
2:13:04 > 2:13:06- Oh, Vontaze!- There's a penalty flag! - Vontaze!
2:13:06 > 2:13:09Antonio Brown, the intended receiver.
2:13:09 > 2:13:12Whoa, whoa, whoa! AB!
2:13:12 > 2:13:14Are you kidding me?
2:13:14 > 2:13:18Vontaze Burfict picks up a ridiculous penalty that is going to
2:13:18 > 2:13:22put the Pittsburgh Steelers well within field goal range.
2:13:22 > 2:13:23And another penalty flag is thrown.
2:13:23 > 2:13:27Personal foul, defence, number 24.
2:13:27 > 2:13:2815-yard penalty.
2:13:28 > 2:13:31He didn't push nobody! He didn't push nobody!
2:13:31 > 2:13:32This is crazy.
2:13:34 > 2:13:35Self-destruction.
2:13:35 > 2:13:36No-oo-oo!
2:13:36 > 2:13:38The Steelers are going to send out Boswell
2:13:38 > 2:13:41and try to win it right here.
2:13:41 > 2:13:42It's on its way!
2:13:42 > 2:13:44It's up! It's good!
2:13:44 > 2:13:50The Pittsburgh Steelers forge ahead by a score of 18-16.
2:13:51 > 2:13:52Pittsburgh progressing then,
2:13:52 > 2:13:55but without their number one receiver, Antonio Brown.
2:13:55 > 2:13:58We'll see how they got on in Denver shortly,
2:13:58 > 2:14:01but we start in Boston. The Kansas City Chiefs went there
2:14:01 > 2:14:04as the number-five seeds and the NFL's hottest team,
2:14:04 > 2:14:06on an 11-game win streak.
2:14:06 > 2:14:08However, in recent Super Bowl campaigns,
2:14:08 > 2:14:11New England have become second-to-none.
2:14:19 > 2:14:21The New England Patriots,
2:14:21 > 2:14:24a name that harks back to the very birth of the nation.
2:14:26 > 2:14:29But only in recent times have the Patriots risen to the top.
2:14:31 > 2:14:33Robert Kraft, owner since 1994,
2:14:33 > 2:14:36has made the Patriots hugely successful.
2:14:36 > 2:14:38It wasn't always like this.
2:14:40 > 2:14:42The Patriots were founded in 1960.
2:14:42 > 2:14:46A gentleman named Billy Sullivan founded the team, and they were
2:14:46 > 2:14:50the eighth and final franchise in the old American Football League.
2:14:50 > 2:14:51They were kind of a clown show,
2:14:51 > 2:14:54they were a little bit of a laughing stock for a lot of years.
2:14:54 > 2:14:57There was talk about them folding up, moving to St Louis.
2:14:57 > 2:14:59There were days when the stands were empty,
2:14:59 > 2:15:02and the team would win one or two games.
2:15:02 > 2:15:05And, again, a lot of mockery hurled their way.
2:15:07 > 2:15:10To end the ridicule, Kraft needed a winning coach.
2:15:10 > 2:15:13In 2000, just one day after being named head coach
2:15:13 > 2:15:16of archrivals the New York Jets,
2:15:16 > 2:15:19the same man announced he was off to coach the Patriots.
2:15:21 > 2:15:25Bill Belichick, he's a historian and he's in his early 60s.
2:15:26 > 2:15:30He grew up near our nation's capital in Annapolis, Maryland.
2:15:30 > 2:15:34His father was a coach, a college coach, a scouter, a recruiter
2:15:34 > 2:15:36and Bill grew up around the game.
2:15:36 > 2:15:38When he was a young man,
2:15:38 > 2:15:43he just started working for 25 a day, driving around, doing anything.
2:15:43 > 2:15:45History's very important to him.
2:15:45 > 2:15:47Belichick needed a leader on the field.
2:15:47 > 2:15:52He chose a quarterback who arrived without fanfare.
2:15:52 > 2:15:55In 2001, they were coming off a 5-11 season,
2:15:55 > 2:15:58Bill Belichick's second year as head coach.
2:15:58 > 2:16:02They started the season 0-2, Drew Bledsoe got hurt in the second game,
2:16:02 > 2:16:04he was the franchise quarterback.
2:16:04 > 2:16:07And this little known sixth-round pick named Tom Brady
2:16:07 > 2:16:09strolled in and never gave up the job.
2:16:09 > 2:16:11Tom was overlooked as a college player -
2:16:11 > 2:16:13he wasn't even a starter on his team half the time.
2:16:13 > 2:16:16And then when it came to the NFL draft,
2:16:16 > 2:16:19there were 199 players picked ahead of him.
2:16:19 > 2:16:22That really hurt his feelings.
2:16:22 > 2:16:25It kind of made him a man on a mission to prove everyone wrong.
2:16:25 > 2:16:28It took a couple of years before he got going here.
2:16:28 > 2:16:3115 years later, the Golden Arm.
2:16:31 > 2:16:33But not back then.
2:16:33 > 2:16:36Only because of an injury did Tom get his opportunity.
2:16:36 > 2:16:38When he got the opportunity, he's been lights out ever since.
2:16:38 > 2:16:44And the rest is history. They won the Super Bowl in 2001, 2003, 2004,
2:16:44 > 2:16:47went to the Super Bowl in 2007, went back in 2011,
2:16:47 > 2:16:50lost both of those to the New York Giants,
2:16:50 > 2:16:51and then went back last year
2:16:51 > 2:16:55and won their fourth against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX.
2:16:58 > 2:17:02Since 1994, no team has won more games, more division titles,
2:17:02 > 2:17:05more conference titles or more Super Bowl titles
2:17:05 > 2:17:07than the New England Patriots.
2:17:07 > 2:17:11Thanks to the bye week, Brady's supporting cast of Gronkowski,
2:17:11 > 2:17:14Edelman and Amendola are all back from injury.
2:17:17 > 2:17:20And these are the Kansas City Chiefs,
2:17:20 > 2:17:22unbeaten in their last 11 games.
2:17:27 > 2:17:30Third and seven for the Pats, trying to get on the board first.
2:17:30 > 2:17:32Four receiver set.
2:17:33 > 2:17:34Brady slings it.
2:17:34 > 2:17:36Touchdown! Gronkowski!
2:17:38 > 2:17:40The Patriots open with a bang.
2:17:41 > 2:17:44Look at the placement of the ball, away from Smith,
2:17:44 > 2:17:47right to the eye line of Gronkowski.
2:17:47 > 2:17:50Reaches out with those big mitts and hauls it in.
2:17:50 > 2:17:53On the ensuing possession, Kansas City went on a 17-play drive
2:17:53 > 2:17:56that ended with a Cairo Santos field goal.
2:17:56 > 2:18:00That made it 7-3, heading into the second quarter.
2:18:02 > 2:18:03Second and goal from the 11.
2:18:06 > 2:18:07Brady, steps up.
2:18:09 > 2:18:10Brady on the move.
2:18:10 > 2:18:12Brady looking for the end zone!
2:18:12 > 2:18:15Brady, did he get there?
2:18:15 > 2:18:17Yes, this is a close one.
2:18:17 > 2:18:20In order to score, you have to get the ball over the pylon
2:18:20 > 2:18:23or inside the pylon. If it doesn't...
2:18:23 > 2:18:25New England is challenging the ruling on the field,
2:18:25 > 2:18:28the quarterback out of bounds.
2:18:28 > 2:18:30This is really close too.
2:18:30 > 2:18:33But watch where the ball is, that's what's important here.
2:18:33 > 2:18:35I don't think the ball ever got across the goal line here.
2:18:35 > 2:18:38Good call by the officials here.
2:18:38 > 2:18:41The ruling on the field stands as called.
2:18:41 > 2:18:44It will be third down and goal from the half-yard line.
2:18:44 > 2:18:46Watch the quarterback sneak here.
2:18:46 > 2:18:48- Third and goal.- It is a sneak!
2:18:48 > 2:18:51And Brady's in, touchdown New England!
2:18:51 > 2:18:55You can tell by the way Brady's leaning forward, he's done it
2:18:55 > 2:18:57so many times in his career.
2:18:57 > 2:19:00He's scored 18 rushing touchdowns, four this season.
2:19:00 > 2:19:03And all four have been on the quarterback sneak.
2:19:03 > 2:19:06Following the Brady touchdown, Kansas City would go on
2:19:06 > 2:19:09an 11-play drive, ending with another Santos field goal.
2:19:09 > 2:19:12It was 14-6 heading into half-time.
2:19:14 > 2:19:18Knile Davis is in, on a second and eight now for KC.
2:19:22 > 2:19:24Smith, plenty of time.
2:19:24 > 2:19:27Goes underneath to Knile Davis. First down.
2:19:27 > 2:19:29Davis lost the ball!
2:19:29 > 2:19:31It popped free at the end of the play.
2:19:33 > 2:19:34The Patriots have got it.
2:19:37 > 2:19:391st down at the 16.
2:19:39 > 2:19:40Brady, perfect on the drive.
2:19:42 > 2:19:44Brady, delivers...
2:19:44 > 2:19:47Touchdown! Gronkowski!
2:19:47 > 2:19:50It's not often you can fake an all-pro,
2:19:50 > 2:19:57but Brady just faked Eric Berry with a pump fake, right there,
2:19:57 > 2:19:59and then the soft toss for the touchdown.
2:19:59 > 2:20:01Third and seven now for Kansas City,
2:20:01 > 2:20:03we're down to 7:48 to play in the third quarter.
2:20:03 > 2:20:07To the side of Smith there are four receivers set.
2:20:08 > 2:20:12Smith, had time, Smith, trying to avoid it.
2:20:12 > 2:20:14Smith emerges.
2:20:14 > 2:20:16Looking downfield, Smith throws it up in the air.
2:20:16 > 2:20:18Jason Avant!
2:20:18 > 2:20:21Oh, what a climb by Avant!
2:20:21 > 2:20:22First down, Kansas City.
2:20:22 > 2:20:24Alex Smith, a magician!
2:20:24 > 2:20:27First and goal for Kansas City.
2:20:27 > 2:20:28Chiefs trail 21-6.
2:20:28 > 2:20:31West lines up, off to the side of Smith.
2:20:31 > 2:20:33Rush is coming. Smith gets rid of it.
2:20:33 > 2:20:36To the end zone! Sliding grab, Albert Wilson,
2:20:36 > 2:20:38touchdown, Kansas City!
2:20:39 > 2:20:42Alex Smith, fantastic throw to Wilson,
2:20:42 > 2:20:45and the Chiefs on the comeback trail.
2:20:49 > 2:20:51On the Patriots' next possession, Brady led
2:20:51 > 2:20:54an eight-play drive that was capped off by a 40-yard
2:20:54 > 2:20:58Steven Gostkowski field goal to extend their lead to 11 points.
2:20:58 > 2:21:01After forcing Kansas City to turn the ball over on downs,
2:21:01 > 2:21:07the Patriots got the ball back, enabling Gostkowski to make it 27-13.
2:21:09 > 2:21:11Three minutes to play.
2:21:11 > 2:21:13First down for Kansas City, Smith unloads...
2:21:13 > 2:21:15Wide open, Albert Wilson!
2:21:16 > 2:21:19Trying to get to the goal line, and he's just short,
2:21:19 > 2:21:23hit by Malcolm Butler. A breakdown for New England.
2:21:23 > 2:21:27But he stayed inbounds, the clock continues to run.
2:21:27 > 2:21:29First and goal at the one.
2:21:29 > 2:21:31The running back is West, they give it to him.
2:21:31 > 2:21:37West clobbered behind the line of scrimmage by Jabaal Sheard.
2:21:37 > 2:21:40- And the clock, tick, tick, tick! - We're down to 2:10 and counting.
2:21:40 > 2:21:44They've got to get this off before the two-minute warning.
2:21:44 > 2:21:48And they're not going to. No shot. Wasted so much time on this drive.
2:21:48 > 2:21:51- Second and goal. - Watch for the bubble screen here.
2:21:51 > 2:21:53Smith, on a pitch...
2:21:53 > 2:21:57West! He's got the angle for the touchdown.
2:21:57 > 2:22:00So the Chiefs go 80 yards, it takes 16 plays.
2:22:00 > 2:22:03It also took five minutes and 16 seconds off the clock.
2:22:03 > 2:22:07- It took way too long. - Patriots trying to end it.
2:22:07 > 2:22:091:08 left.
2:22:12 > 2:22:13Brady to throw it.
2:22:13 > 2:22:16Oh, ricochets into the hands of Edelman!
2:22:17 > 2:22:20How do they do it over and over again?
2:22:22 > 2:22:24If that bounces in a different direction, Dan,
2:22:24 > 2:22:27Kansas City could be going the other way, looking for the tie.
2:22:27 > 2:22:30Edelman in the right place at the right time.
2:22:30 > 2:22:31And that first down will do it.
2:22:41 > 2:22:43There are players that have great experience and you
2:22:43 > 2:22:46see them in the play-offs and they do really well,
2:22:46 > 2:22:48and there's players that have great experience
2:22:48 > 2:22:50that you see in the play-offs who don't do so well.
2:22:50 > 2:22:53You've got to take some of that experience and put it to the side
2:22:53 > 2:22:56and just prepare each week like it could potentially be your last.
2:22:56 > 2:22:59It is good to get into the first round of the play-offs.
2:22:59 > 2:23:01And, you know, we'll prepare for whoever
2:23:01 > 2:23:02we're going to play next week.
2:23:02 > 2:23:03It is a one-game season
2:23:03 > 2:23:06and if you don't bring yourself one night you could be eliminated.
2:23:06 > 2:23:09So you've got to always be prepared for the next week.
2:23:11 > 2:23:14So, New England waiting on the AFC Championship game.
2:23:14 > 2:23:17Their opponents are the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Denver Broncos,
2:23:17 > 2:23:21who met in the Mile High City in a repeat of the week 15 game,
2:23:21 > 2:23:24which the Steelers had won 34-27.
2:23:29 > 2:23:32Pittsburgh were in a bad place before the game had even kicked off.
2:23:32 > 2:23:36Their star receiver Antonio Brown was out with concussion
2:23:36 > 2:23:39and there were fitness doubts over quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
2:23:39 > 2:23:41So after Denver took an early lead
2:23:41 > 2:23:43through two Brandon McManus field goals,
2:23:43 > 2:23:47few predicted that Pittsburgh would score the game's first touchdown,
2:23:47 > 2:23:50second running back Fitzgerald Toussaint giving the Steelers
2:23:50 > 2:23:53the narrowest of leads at the end of the first quarter.
2:23:53 > 2:23:55This was a tight defensive battle,
2:23:55 > 2:23:57both teams only troubling the scoreboard
2:23:57 > 2:24:00with a field goal each in the second and third quarters.
2:24:00 > 2:24:02So we join the action in the fourth period.
2:24:02 > 2:24:05Pittsburgh have a 13-12 lead, and the ball.
2:24:13 > 2:24:16Here's a hand-off to Toussaint.
2:24:16 > 2:24:18And it's on the ground and recovered by Ware.
2:24:18 > 2:24:20WHISTLE
2:24:20 > 2:24:22Cody Wallace tried to fight for it.
2:24:22 > 2:24:26Looked like Ware had it. It was Roby who charged it out of his hands.
2:24:27 > 2:24:29And it's a Denver recovery.
2:24:29 > 2:24:31Toussaint was just untouched
2:24:31 > 2:24:34for the first six, seven yards of that run.
2:24:34 > 2:24:36Then Roby came up and knocked it out.
2:24:36 > 2:24:40First turnover of the game from either side.
2:24:40 > 2:24:42Good field position for the Broncos' offence.
2:24:42 > 2:24:45Manning 19 out of 35. 184 yards.
2:24:47 > 2:24:49Here they come blitzing again for the second.
2:24:49 > 2:24:53The pass is caught by Fowler who breaks off the tackle from Allen.
2:24:53 > 2:24:56And he's down at the 35.
2:24:56 > 2:24:59Benny Fowler for 31.
2:24:59 > 2:25:02Beautiful throw on the inside, bends it across.
2:25:02 > 2:25:06Boykin goes for the knock-down, misses it, Allen misses the tackle
2:25:06 > 2:25:10and it was another unique rush.
2:25:10 > 2:25:13Peyton Manning never saw a safety coming free.
2:25:13 > 2:25:16If he had held on to it a second more, it would have been a fumble.
2:25:16 > 2:25:18No huddle here at second and six.
2:25:21 > 2:25:24Now he decides instead of the gun, they'll take it direct from Paradis.
2:25:32 > 2:25:35And Sanders with a stick-on to pick up the first down.
2:25:35 > 2:25:37And look how far they are off.
2:25:37 > 2:25:39Cockrell so far back, Peyton Manning says
2:25:39 > 2:25:43to heck with the run, let's throw the quick screen outside.
2:25:43 > 2:25:45Oh, they're going to hurry up.
2:25:45 > 2:25:47Yeah, they're running right to the line.
2:25:50 > 2:25:51Back at Anderson.
2:25:51 > 2:25:52Anderson fights for it
2:25:52 > 2:25:55and he's across for the touchdown!
2:25:55 > 2:25:57Well, there was contact.
2:25:57 > 2:26:00Looked like it was going to get stopped initially.
2:26:00 > 2:26:02Boykin hit him in the backfield, couldn't stop him.
2:26:02 > 2:26:04Now they'll go for two, no doubt.
2:26:04 > 2:26:06Same formation,
2:26:06 > 2:26:08except this time they've got the back in the backfield.
2:26:08 > 2:26:13Moving into his slot, stacked three to the right.
2:26:13 > 2:26:16Good play. Thomas has the two.
2:26:18 > 2:26:22Here we are at fourth down, fourth and five with
2:26:22 > 2:26:24Tomlin and the Steelers.
2:26:24 > 2:26:26You have the tight end and the running back
2:26:26 > 2:26:29both in there for protection, to get Roethlisberger a little more time.
2:26:36 > 2:26:39They get to him and Roethlisberger tries to shuttle it
2:26:39 > 2:26:42to Gilbert, but it's picked up by Miller
2:26:42 > 2:26:46and the play is ruled down while Miller celebrates.
2:26:46 > 2:26:50It's not going to be a touchdown and Denver takes over on downs.
2:26:52 > 2:26:55A 45-yard Brandon McManus kick enabled Denver
2:26:55 > 2:26:59to extend their lead to 23-13 with less than a minute remaining.
2:26:59 > 2:27:03But Pittsburgh raced down the field, scoring a 47-yard field goal
2:27:03 > 2:27:05to make it a one-score deficit.
2:27:05 > 2:27:08The Steelers would need to recover an onside kick
2:27:08 > 2:27:11to give themselves one last chance.
2:27:16 > 2:27:20The coach is in from the side and here's the kick.
2:27:20 > 2:27:22Touched by a Pittsburgh player
2:27:22 > 2:27:26and the recovery by Anderson back at the 39.
2:27:26 > 2:27:29I thought that Pittsburgh player touched the ball too soon.
2:27:29 > 2:27:33- I did, too. I thought it was about nine yards out.- Yeah.
2:27:33 > 2:27:38Believe it was Sean Smith. CJ Anderson ends up with the football.
2:27:38 > 2:27:41Broncos and Patriots are going to battle for the AFC Championship
2:27:41 > 2:27:43next Sunday here in Denver.
2:27:43 > 2:27:47You're going to be hearing all the talk again about Brady-Manning.
2:27:47 > 2:27:52It's very satisfying to win, to beat the Steelers in a play-off game.
2:27:52 > 2:27:55Those guys over there are battle-tested.
2:27:55 > 2:27:57They've been in a lot of big games.
2:27:57 > 2:28:00But you have to be a good team to win these play-off games
2:28:00 > 2:28:01and you have to win as a team.
2:28:01 > 2:28:03And so defence did a great job holding them
2:28:03 > 2:28:06and offensively, we just did enough to win.
2:28:06 > 2:28:08It's tough. It is emotional for everybody
2:28:08 > 2:28:11because everybody appreciates everybody else's efforts.
2:28:11 > 2:28:14Only one team ends the season the way they want to.
2:28:14 > 2:28:17And like I said, just proud of everybody's efforts.
2:28:17 > 2:28:21We overcame so many things this year to get to this point.
2:28:21 > 2:28:25Just makes you proud and, you know, you just want to keep going.
2:28:25 > 2:28:29Goodness me, there have been some outfits around this weekend!
2:28:29 > 2:28:32We heard there, the talk will all be Brady-Manning.
2:28:32 > 2:28:35And yet, listen to some podcasts, read some articles,
2:28:35 > 2:28:38there's a debate about whether it should be Manning or Osweiler
2:28:38 > 2:28:39to start for the Broncos.
2:28:39 > 2:28:42That's just ridiculous, man. There's no debate about that.
2:28:42 > 2:28:45He wasn't imperious, Peyton Manning, in that game, by any means.
2:28:45 > 2:28:47No, he wasn't, but he won the game.
2:28:47 > 2:28:49And like my good friend Herm Edwards always says,
2:28:49 > 2:28:54you play to win the game and that's exactly what the Broncos did.
2:28:54 > 2:28:57And yet when the Broncos beat the Patriots earlier on in the season
2:28:57 > 2:29:00in week 12, Osweiler was the starter.
2:29:00 > 2:29:03There we can have a look at CJ Anderson's touchdown.
2:29:03 > 2:29:06Will that play any part in Gary Kubiak's mind, the head coach?
2:29:06 > 2:29:08I mean, they obviously have to run the ball, cos that's what they do,
2:29:08 > 2:29:11but we're talking about a different New England team
2:29:11 > 2:29:13that did not have their weapons offensively
2:29:13 > 2:29:15so this is going to be a completely different game.
2:29:15 > 2:29:17Explain to people watching how the Patriots have made
2:29:17 > 2:29:23five AFC Championships on the trot in a sport that is meant to be
2:29:23 > 2:29:25about parity, and structured in such a way
2:29:25 > 2:29:28that one team cannot dominate. It's remarkable!
2:29:28 > 2:29:30It is, but they have all the tools in place.
2:29:30 > 2:29:34They've got a genius head coach, they've got a great quarterback
2:29:34 > 2:29:36and they've always played consistent defence.
2:29:36 > 2:29:38Exactly, man. The one thing that they don't do
2:29:38 > 2:29:40is they will never beat themselves.
2:29:40 > 2:29:42You are going to have to beat the New England Patriots.
2:29:42 > 2:29:44They don't have turnovers,
2:29:44 > 2:29:46the quarterback doesn't make stupid mistakes,
2:29:46 > 2:29:49they don't fumble the football, very well coached football team,
2:29:49 > 2:29:52and that is why they have been so consistent the entire time.
2:29:52 > 2:29:54Kansas City will be kicking themselves
2:29:54 > 2:29:57- that they didn't manage the clock better, won't they?- Yeah.
2:29:57 > 2:29:59KC, they had a chance
2:29:59 > 2:30:02but you've got to play an excellent game to beat those guys.
2:30:02 > 2:30:05They had their run. They had a nice 11-game winning streak.
2:30:05 > 2:30:07They weren't going to beat the Patriots.
2:30:07 > 2:30:10They had a nice winning streak but they were more than a winning streak!
2:30:10 > 2:30:12No, they were not going to beat the New England Patriots
2:30:12 > 2:30:15and we all knew that, sitting up here.
2:30:15 > 2:30:17Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
2:30:17 > 2:30:20We do know that because we have seen the games.
2:30:20 > 2:30:23Will this boil down, then, looking ahead to the actual game,
2:30:23 > 2:30:28will this boil down to Broncos' defence against Brady?
2:30:28 > 2:30:31- Or is there more to it than that? - Yes.
2:30:31 > 2:30:32Yes, it'll boil down to that?
2:30:32 > 2:30:34It will, because that's where they are the best.
2:30:34 > 2:30:36They are the best defence in the league,
2:30:36 > 2:30:39and they can get after Tom Brady, which they're going to have to do,
2:30:39 > 2:30:42but they just find a way to mix things up on offence
2:30:42 > 2:30:45that confuse other defences - that's what they do.
2:30:45 > 2:30:47Yup, New England does, but the way to beat them,
2:30:47 > 2:30:50- pressure on the quarterback. - Broncos or Patriots?- Broncos.
2:30:50 > 2:30:52- Yeah, but... - Oh, they're in agreement! Yes?
2:30:52 > 2:30:55Pressure on the quarterback, but what they do to beat that...
2:30:55 > 2:30:58He just asked you Broncos or Patriots. That's all he asked you.
2:30:58 > 2:30:59- And I'm Patriots! - Oh, no way. No way.
2:30:59 > 2:31:02They are not in agreement! Got there in the end.
2:31:02 > 2:31:04As the AFC Championship Game will be the 17th time
2:31:04 > 2:31:07Brady has gone head-to-head with Manning,
2:31:07 > 2:31:09here's the lowdown on the two of them.
2:31:19 > 2:31:20On my high...
2:31:35 > 2:31:39Ladies and gentlemen, you have just witnessed NFL history.
2:31:40 > 2:31:44So the race to Super Bowl 50 has reached the Conference Championship
2:31:44 > 2:31:47so we are effectively at the semifinal stage.
2:31:47 > 2:31:49In the AFC, the top two seeds face each other -
2:31:49 > 2:31:51Denver entertaining New England.
2:31:51 > 2:31:53Over in the NFC again, the top two seeds,
2:31:53 > 2:31:57Carolina as number one hosting the Arizona Cardinals,
2:31:57 > 2:32:02their last meeting the 2014 wild card playoff which the Panthers won 27-16.
2:32:02 > 2:32:06Let's take a little bit of a look at social media.
2:32:06 > 2:32:08The NFL rookie question from Shane,
2:32:08 > 2:32:11"Are there anything similar to red cards to control discipline?"
2:32:11 > 2:32:13Yes, that would be getting ejected from the game,
2:32:13 > 2:32:15and if you get ejected in the second half
2:32:15 > 2:32:18you can lose a part of the first game.
2:32:18 > 2:32:21- OK. Ever been ejected? - I never got caught!- Ha-ha!
2:32:21 > 2:32:24There's a great relationship between Leicester City
2:32:24 > 2:32:26and the Carolina Panthers developing.
2:32:26 > 2:32:30Graham Gano wearing a Leicester shirt in the locker room before the game.
2:32:30 > 2:32:35Right, we are just two games from Super Bowl 50.

2:32:56 > 2:32:59Or, alternatively, goodbye. See you next week.
2:32:59 > 2:33:00What a nice guy!
2:33:00 > 2:33:03Margins of victory, seven points here,
2:33:03 > 2:33:06seven points here,
2:33:06 > 2:33:07seven points here.
2:33:08 > 2:33:10Somebody then got the maths wrong.
2:33:10 > 2:33:11Six points here.
2:33:12 > 2:33:16It was close all the way, but victories for the teams that
2:33:16 > 2:33:21had rested, the teams that had home field advantage, advantages
2:33:21 > 2:33:26earned in the course of the regular season, privileges won the hard way.
2:33:27 > 2:33:31There is home advantage to come for the Denver Broncos
2:33:31 > 2:33:33and the Carolina Panthers.
2:33:33 > 2:33:35Does it matter?
2:33:35 > 2:33:40What will count, as those that remain all hit the home stretch?
2:33:40 > 2:33:41Make way.
