:01:19. > :01:22.In the first of two finals in this year's Diamond League,

:01:23. > :01:25.16 Diamond Race titles will be decided tonight in an evening

:01:26. > :01:29.We are back in Switzerland where the city of Zurich

:01:30. > :01:37.Your commentators at the stadium are Tim Hutchings and Steve Cram.

:01:38. > :01:40.We were here of course for the European

:01:41. > :01:47.Championship in 2014, lots of memories from that.

:01:48. > :01:51.We begin tonight with a non-Diamond league race.

:01:52. > :02:00.This is not a Diamond Race but we have Eilidh Doyle

:02:01. > :02:08.The American, Little, looking to make some

:02:09. > :02:30.A great lane draw for Doyle in the pink shoes in lane four.

:02:31. > :02:39.Third from left has got off quite quick.

:02:40. > :02:41.Petersen moving well, looking very strong.

:02:42. > :02:42.She runs her races, perfectly measured

:02:43. > :02:56.The World Championship silver medallist last year,

:02:57. > :03:02.of whom so much was expected in this Olympic year.

:03:03. > :03:04.Maybe Little is getting it right here, albeit

:03:05. > :03:10.Doyle in second place in lane four but has some work to do

:03:11. > :03:17.Petersen comes through very strongly in lane six.

:03:18. > :03:24.It's all too late in this 2016 summer.

:03:25. > :03:34.She has a relatively poor form since the Olympic trial,

:03:35. > :03:36.sixth in Monaco and London, fifth one week ago.

:03:37. > :03:48.A great run, nonetheless and we can confirm the result

:03:49. > :03:51.of the 400 metres hurdles, with Little finding her

:03:52. > :04:03.The women's pole vault was held the night before on the main station

:04:04. > :04:08.A large enthusiastic crowd of fans and commuters were treated

:04:09. > :04:10.to a close-up view of a high-quality competition which included a gold

:04:11. > :04:21.It was Great Britain's Holly Bradshaw who claimed the victory.

:04:22. > :04:30.4.76m at the first attempt, which would prove to be

:04:31. > :04:34.A season's best for Bradshaw and her third best ever.

:04:35. > :04:37.Stefanidi, the Olympic champion, had passed due to earlier failures

:04:38. > :04:44.Sandi Morris also rued an early miss.

:04:45. > :04:49.She cleared 4.76 too but lost out to Bradshaw.

:04:50. > :04:52.This was not a Diamond League event but it was a significant win

:04:53. > :04:54.for Holly against the Olympic medallist.

:04:55. > :04:56.A couple of competitions left, she's not ready yet

:04:57. > :05:04.A great win in an unusual venue, just the ticket for Holly.

:05:05. > :05:07.Still to come, four of the world's most decorated 200 metre runners go

:05:08. > :05:15.British 1500 metre record-holder Laura Muir is still in the race

:05:16. > :05:20.All the protagonists are here for the women's 800 metres

:05:21. > :05:32.And the stacked 100 metres features Kendra Harrison and Ruth Jebet leads

:05:33. > :05:42.the field in the women's steeplechase.

:05:43. > :05:45.Next on the track on the far side, the men's 5000 metres.

:05:46. > :05:50.Look at the list of names going through there.

:05:51. > :05:54.This could well be very close, in terms of winning

:05:55. > :06:21.He has to make up eight points on Edris.

:06:22. > :06:24.With double points, if you win tonight, you get 20

:06:25. > :06:26.and if you come second, their positions would be reversed.

:06:27. > :06:56.They are looking of course, to get under 13 minutes here.

:06:57. > :06:59.When you think back to all of the great 5000 metres over

:07:00. > :07:01.the years, you can remember the world record being broken

:07:02. > :07:16.No Mo Farah of course but a chance for some of the others to get quick

:07:17. > :07:17.times and certainly for Kejelcha to have a big payday.

:07:18. > :07:26.The Olympic silver medallist in the steeplechase.

:07:27. > :07:28.There has been discussion about whether Evan Jager can improve

:07:29. > :07:35.Let's not forget Ryan Hill who had a fantastic run

:07:36. > :07:37.in Paris in 3000 metres last week, last Saturday.

:07:38. > :07:43.There were so many men in great form in Paris,

:07:44. > :07:46.the 3000, who are running here again tonight.

:07:47. > :07:49.I'm optimistic we will see several men go under 13 minutes

:07:50. > :07:56.but they have not got to go with the pace.

:07:57. > :07:58.62 seconds per lap is 12.55 tempo, it's not hanging about.

:07:59. > :08:07.They are in the pack, running around 65 for the first lap

:08:08. > :08:12.and are going even slower now, so only Evan Jager going

:08:13. > :08:15.with the pace so this will be interesting.

:08:16. > :08:17.If they keep running four or five laps, and then

:08:18. > :08:21.he is out there on his own, is he in the sort of shape to keep

:08:22. > :08:23.going if they end up running at this pace?

:08:24. > :08:29.A great field in a women's long jump.

:08:30. > :08:37.Including all three Olympic medallists.

:08:38. > :08:39.Spanovic, of course, despite jumping well

:08:40. > :08:41.in Rio, she had to settle for the bronze.

:08:42. > :08:44.She starts brilliantly in round one, in the sunshine, down

:08:45. > :08:50.Straight off the board, no wind in the stadium.

:08:51. > :09:09.She had so much but the 30 around her in those

:09:10. > :09:14.Didn't perform as well as she would have liked.

:09:15. > :09:19.Very, very tight in the first two or three rounds.

:09:20. > :09:24.She was chopping into the board there, those long legs

:09:25. > :09:36.Brittney Reese trying to respond, as she did in Rio.

:09:37. > :09:45.Now, still searching for seven metres.

:09:46. > :09:51.A great technique from Brittney Reese, so powerful.

:09:52. > :09:59.6.95, takes the lead by just two centimetres.

:10:00. > :10:01.That was the best jump of the competition so she won.

:10:02. > :10:13.In the Diamond Race, it was Spanovic who came out on top.

:10:14. > :10:19.She's pretty much had it wrapped up tonight.

:10:20. > :10:26.That's the case for quite a few of the athletes.

:10:27. > :10:29.There's many events where that is not the case.

:10:30. > :10:31.Interesting thing in the 5000 metres, Evan Jager went

:10:32. > :10:36.That is the sort of pace we are asking for.

:10:37. > :10:41.They are continuing to run at a slow pace, the pack.

:10:42. > :10:54.Settled down a little bit in 62s, but running sub-13 minutes.

:10:55. > :10:56.It's about 11 seconds, actually, now.

:10:57. > :11:02.They are showing no signs of picking it up.

:11:03. > :11:05.I just wonder whether they realise it is Jager up there.

:11:06. > :11:09.Some of the Ethiopians running in 5000 metres,

:11:10. > :11:12.they may not realise that Jager has the ability

:11:13. > :11:22.perhaps to run under 13, so this is hugely interesting.

:11:23. > :11:35.The Olympic and world champion, Perkovic, leads,

:11:36. > :11:49.You can laugh all you want because the big pressure

:11:50. > :12:02.Well, very modest three opening rounds from the French woman.

:12:03. > :12:15.But she is struggling to get anywhere near that.

:12:16. > :12:18.She opened with 57 and then 58 and then 60.

:12:19. > :12:34.63.91, second place but long way down.

:12:35. > :12:36.67.98 in round four, no throw in round five.

:12:37. > :12:50.You can see out there just over the 70-metre line,

:12:51. > :13:02.68.44 for Perkovic , by far the longest throw

:13:03. > :13:09.About as good as it can get from Sandra Perkovic.

:13:10. > :13:11.She's ahead of the French, Melina Robert-Michon.

:13:12. > :13:15.Less than three laps to go for Evan Jager but the chase is on.

:13:16. > :13:28.Evan Jager has cut himself loose of the pacemaker,

:13:29. > :13:36.They have slowed in the fourth kilometer.

:13:37. > :13:44.There are not going to be any fast times here tonight,

:13:45. > :13:47.but what needs to be sorted out is who is going to win this

:13:48. > :13:55.Kejelcha hopes by winning tonight, he hopes to guarantee he gets

:13:56. > :13:58.the big pot but Evan Jager has messed up the party a little

:13:59. > :14:04.Kejelcha could still be second if he does not catch Evan Jager.

:14:05. > :14:07.So Evan Jager with two laps to go, can he hang on?

:14:08. > :14:18.That fourth kilometer was his slowest.

:14:19. > :14:20.He leads the pack though, but the gap is 50 metres.

:14:21. > :14:23.I just think he has got the strength and experience

:14:24. > :14:36.He is inexperienced but frankly, this is just pure

:14:37. > :15:00.As I speak, every metre, it closes and it closes,

:15:01. > :15:10.Wouldn't you like to have a head start of a good 35 metres,

:15:11. > :15:12.maybe even more, going into the bell?

:15:13. > :15:30.The two big kickers at the back of the pack could catch him.

:15:31. > :15:36.He's just starting to look a little tired down the back straight.

:15:37. > :15:38.He was 12.15 at the bell, went 5.5 seconds down.

:15:39. > :15:49.Gebhriwet lets loose, and he is chasing him down.

:15:50. > :15:51.If he won this, and other positions depended on it,

:15:52. > :16:00.He has been out there for so long, a brave effort from him,

:16:01. > :16:12.Gebhriwet coming through to take the win.

:16:13. > :16:15.Chelimo will be second, a very tired Jager will hang on for third.

:16:16. > :16:25.They all looked at each other, and for a long time it looked

:16:26. > :16:35.He picked up a little bit in the last 600 metres,

:16:36. > :16:44.I am surprised the pack let Jager go in the first place.

:16:45. > :16:53.Disappointing, really, because they have to run tactically

:16:54. > :16:56.over the 12 and a half laps, but the conditions are as good

:16:57. > :17:03.I don't think he realises, because he was just winning

:17:04. > :17:08.the race, but because he won and others were not inside the top

:17:09. > :17:21.Confirmation of the Diamond Race standings at the end.

:17:22. > :17:24.Gebhriwet, jumping from 15 points to 35, gets ahead of a disconsolate

:17:25. > :17:35.The winners of the past four Olympic titles take

:17:36. > :17:47.Double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson faces Dafne

:17:48. > :17:53.She cannot be caught in the Diamond Race and is keen

:17:54. > :17:59.for revenge after losing out to Thompson in Rio.

:18:00. > :18:14.Kambundji will get a roar from the crowd, very popular.

:18:15. > :18:21.Inside Elaine Thompson, the double Olympic champion from Rio.

:18:22. > :18:33.Ahye from Trinidad and Tobago was sixth in Rio.

:18:34. > :18:38.She was fifth last year in Beijing over 100 metres.

:18:39. > :18:47.Allyson Felix, a six-time Olympic champion.

:18:48. > :18:53.She ran in the Olympic trials at 400.

:18:54. > :18:56.This young lady, the Jamaican, Elaine Thompson, at 24,

:18:57. > :18:58.double Olympic champion, then she won in Paris last

:18:59. > :19:11.Dafne Schippers, the third fastest athlete in history.

:19:12. > :19:28.Dafne Schippers, Elaine Thompson, Allyson Felix, in five, six, seven.

:19:29. > :19:37.Veronica Campbell-Brown, only sixth in Lausanne, certainly not the force

:19:38. > :19:40.she was. Dina Asher-Smith, the young British runner in fabulous form. She

:19:41. > :19:42.should go well. Kambundji, seventh in Lausanne

:19:43. > :19:45.exactly a week ago tonight, a semifinalist in Rio in 100

:19:46. > :19:53.metres and 200 metres. I got the impression that Schippers

:19:54. > :20:23.dipped a little early. We will have to wait and see

:20:24. > :20:35.what the computer says. I thought Allyson Felix would come

:20:36. > :20:38.through more strongly in the second half.

:20:39. > :20:41.21.85, a Diamond League record by a Elaine Thompson.

:20:42. > :20:47.Dafne Schippers, she burnt the bend this time, and Elaine Thompson

:20:48. > :20:53.That is what Schippers is normally so good at.

:20:54. > :20:57.This time, just tying up in the last 25-30 metres.

:20:58. > :21:05.This is where she's normally good and holds it together,

:21:06. > :21:08.but look at Thompson, still trying to keep it relaxed.

:21:09. > :21:12.Look at the tension in Schippers's face,

:21:13. > :21:28.Consolation as well, Dafne Schippers was already clear

:21:29. > :21:30.in terms of winning the Diamond Race.

:21:31. > :21:35.She had it at five metres out, didn't she?

:21:36. > :21:57.We can go now to the men's shot put competition.

:21:58. > :21:59.Tom Walsh, the bronze medal from Rio.

:22:00. > :22:05.Commonwealth silver medallist two years ago.

:22:06. > :22:06.He has had a fabulous couple of years.

:22:07. > :22:16.He won in Paris by one centimetre last week.

:22:17. > :22:35.A fabulous effort in Paris, where he threw 22 metres exactly.

:22:36. > :22:37.Crouser, the Olympic champion, took everyone by surprise

:22:38. > :22:45.He had the world youth title in 2009.

:22:46. > :22:55.That, for Crouser, at 22 metres exactly.

:22:56. > :23:14.The best of his opening three rounds was only 20.89.

:23:15. > :23:22.Joe Kovacs, there, the Olympic silver medallist and world

:23:23. > :23:29.21.20, the best of his series, in third place.

:23:30. > :23:37.Tom Walsh is indeed the winner with 22.20

:23:38. > :23:49.Tom Walsh on this occasion puts the best of them behind him.

:23:50. > :23:59.Ryan Crouser second, Joe Kovacs third.

:24:00. > :24:01.After her disappointment in the Olympic final,

:24:02. > :24:04.Britain's Laura Muir bounced back at last week's Diamond League

:24:05. > :24:07.meeting in Paris with a new PB and winning time, taking her to 13th

:24:08. > :24:09.on the all-time list for 1500 metres and left Olympic champion

:24:10. > :24:22.Faith Kipyegon behind for the first time this year.

:24:23. > :24:27.Repeat result would see her win the Diamond.

:24:28. > :24:30.She would have to overcome a field packed with many

:24:31. > :24:35.The women's 1500 metres, and what a field we have here.

:24:36. > :24:41.Pretty much the Olympic final here with one or two differences.

:24:42. > :24:44.Jenny Meadows is doing the pacemaking job.

:24:45. > :24:51.Laura Muir has had the season of her life.

:24:52. > :24:59.There is the woman who won gold on the day, Faith Kipyegon.

:25:00. > :25:09.For Laura Muir, Scotland's finest, two British records this year,

:25:10. > :25:10.a world-leading 3.55 in Paris last week,

:25:11. > :25:18.If Laura Muir can win this race, she can catch Faith Kipyegon.

:25:19. > :25:22.Double points tonight, of course, so is Laura Muir going to go for it?

:25:23. > :25:25.It was her frontrunning tactics in Paris that took everybody,

:25:26. > :25:28.not so much by surprise because she has done it before,

:25:29. > :25:34.but the power of her running as the pacemakers dropped out.

:25:35. > :25:40.She wants Jenny Meadows to go off at a steady pace through 800

:25:41. > :25:45.Laura Muir will be ready to pick it up from there.

:25:46. > :25:56.Kipyegon this time, I'm pretty sure, will not let

:25:57. > :26:04.Laura Muir get away as easily as she did in Paris,

:26:05. > :26:07.though I am not sure there was much she could have done about it.

:26:08. > :26:09.It is exciting, because while it is predictable,

:26:10. > :26:12.you know when Laura Muir lines up you will have a tough race.

:26:13. > :26:14.They know they will get tested tonight.

:26:15. > :26:16.The only problem is, from Laura's perspective,

:26:17. > :26:24.You know you're going to get this long charge from home

:26:25. > :26:26.from about 1000 metres out, and they can prepare mentally

:26:27. > :26:28.and physically, but that is a quick opener.

:26:29. > :26:40.Jenny is obviously a great 800 metres runner and is good at judging

:26:41. > :26:44.pace, and she will keep this going nicely.

:26:45. > :26:55.That clicked Laura Muir into another gear and she kept

:26:56. > :27:02.Laura Muir with Kipyegon on her shoulder.

:27:03. > :27:15.Right at the back is the Polish runner.

:27:16. > :27:21.It has been a nice break since Paris last Saturday.

:27:22. > :27:26.Laura Muir has had five days of rest.

:27:27. > :27:29.Enough time to go down the track, a light session.

:27:30. > :27:52.After Paris, where she took them to hell and back,

:27:53. > :27:56.Jenny Meadows drops out after doing a good pacemaking job.

:27:57. > :28:07.Faith Kipyegon is thinking, this is not Paris and you're not

:28:08. > :28:53.Laura Muir is sitting there, trying to come back at Faith Kipyegon.

:28:54. > :28:58.Jenny Simpson looks dangerous, so does Shannon Rowbury.

:28:59. > :29:01.As they come into the home straight, it is not about the times

:29:02. > :29:03.necessarily, it is about the win tonight.

:29:04. > :29:07.Laura Muir is going to try to kick this one.

:29:08. > :29:10.Kipyegon looks spent, and Laura Muir is pulling away.

:29:11. > :29:16.Is Shannon Rowbury going to get there?

:29:17. > :29:27.How many dives across the line have we seen?

:29:28. > :29:31.Shannon Rowbury, I was just about to say that Laura Muir

:29:32. > :29:43.was going to hang on, but Shannon Rowbury,

:29:44. > :29:46.with that lunge, may well have robbed her of the victory

:29:47. > :29:49.overall as well, because she had to get the win, given that

:29:50. > :29:57.A very different race to Paris, but a quick time nonetheless.

:29:58. > :30:07.Reversing the positions of Paris, when Simpson finished ahead of her.

:30:08. > :30:21.Laura Muir did everything she could here.

:30:22. > :30:24.The Olympic champion is truly not the force of a couple of weeks back.

:30:25. > :30:27.Kipyegon nearly shut the door down on Laura Muir.

:30:28. > :30:29.In lane two, if she had stuck to the curve,

:30:30. > :30:31.Rowberry could've found it tough with some traffic to get

:30:32. > :30:34.Than her legs give way under her.

:30:35. > :30:37.That is what you call giving your all.

:30:38. > :30:39.Well, Kipyegon ended up actually seventh,

:30:40. > :30:40.and who would have predicted that before tonight?

:30:41. > :30:45.She only had to finish fourth or fifth and that

:30:46. > :30:54.Not only lost, a poor race by her standards.

:30:55. > :31:08.I did not know if I had her or not, but I'm over the moon.

:31:09. > :31:13.I wanted to do the same as Paris, and I knew if I ran a good

:31:14. > :31:27.I could not hold off at the end, but was very close.

:31:28. > :31:28.Braz, one of the biggest shocks in Rio.

:31:29. > :31:31.In front of his home crowd in the pole vault.

:31:32. > :31:40.There he goes clear, no trouble at all.

:31:41. > :31:47.Took three attempts at 5.62, a little while ago.

:31:48. > :31:51.But the world junior champion back in 2012, he has been

:31:52. > :31:56.there or thereabouts, fourth in the World Indoors in 2014

:31:57. > :32:10.He is passing at the next height, 5.78.

:32:11. > :32:13.A little hiccup earlier on, first attempt.

:32:14. > :32:15.5.78 for the Olympic champion from London.

:32:16. > :32:16.A silver medallist, of course, in Rio.

:32:17. > :32:29.Can you believe he was on the podium in Rio in tears?

:32:30. > :32:30.Desperately bad behaviour by a small section

:32:31. > :32:45.How he would love to round off his season here with a fine performance,

:32:46. > :33:07.5.78, he cleared, and there, at 5.84.

:33:08. > :33:11.Throws the gauntlet down to the others.

:33:12. > :33:20.Thiago Braz da Silva is there, having passed at 5.78.

:33:21. > :33:28.Many thought he would take the Olympic title,
