:00:46. > :00:53.Welcome to Birmingham for the Muller Grand Prix. We will see so many

:00:54. > :00:57.stars of the London World Championships. 50 medallists here.

:00:58. > :01:02.Half of them gold, on the track. One of them, a man who has been the star

:01:03. > :01:07.of British Athletics for nearly a decade. One of the greatest we have

:01:08. > :01:12.seen is saying his farewells. It will be fast and furious, just like

:01:13. > :01:17.it was in London. Here we go then... London's calling! Britain's

:01:18. > :01:25.watching. This is phenomenal!

:01:26. > :01:47.He's a one man world superpower! MUSIC

:01:48. > :02:09.Oh, look at that! Diamond brings them home to silver!

:02:10. > :02:22.Going to get it... Great Britain, the bronze.

:02:23. > :02:27.Ahead... Silver medal... It will be tough... What a fantastic ten days

:02:28. > :02:34.we had. What a World Championships. Here we are in Birmingham, on this

:02:35. > :02:37.glorious sunny Sunday afternoon. And The Stadium is pretty full to watch

:02:38. > :02:42.many of those stars of London. 50 medallists. 25 of them gold

:02:43. > :02:46.competing here. And of course Mo Farah is one of those competing in

:02:47. > :02:52.the 3,000 metres. The last event on the track today. He'll be on a

:02:53. > :02:56.British track competing for the last time in his career. So many of these

:02:57. > :02:59.fans want to say goodbye and thank you for the memories of the golds

:03:00. > :03:06.and the likes of Sophie Hitchon competing in the hammer event here.

:03:07. > :03:10.Elaine Thompson as well and so many Diamond League points to pick up

:03:11. > :03:16.along the way as well. You will see those events shortly.

:03:17. > :03:20.Dafne Schippers there. And Mo Farah arriving in style.

:03:21. > :03:25.In a Bentley - a little bit earlier on today, to say, well, hello, first

:03:26. > :03:29.of all, but eventually, goodbye. I think the emotion will be very, very

:03:30. > :03:32.charged and very high in this stadium in about two hours' time

:03:33. > :03:39.when he comes out on the track for the last time. Alongside me to watch

:03:40. > :03:43.all of this Colin Jackson and Denise Lewis.

:03:44. > :03:48.We have seen some of them up for it after London. Others have to dig

:03:49. > :03:52.deep for the reserves? There'll be tired legs and tired arms out there.

:03:53. > :03:55.It is about getting points today. It is about enjoying what is great

:03:56. > :03:59.athletics. It will be fast and furious, as you said. For some it is

:04:00. > :04:03.about trying to redeem a little bit of pride and work out why things

:04:04. > :04:07.didn't work out in London when they felt they were in great shape.

:04:08. > :04:10.Sometimes it is really frustrating when you don't deliver the

:04:11. > :04:15.performance you want to do. You can turn around your mind set and work

:04:16. > :04:21.on it again and believe in yourself. They have a chance today. Wherever

:04:22. > :04:25.they decide to finish the season they have a long, hard winter,

:04:26. > :04:29.getting ready for next year. Those are the months that nobody sees the

:04:30. > :04:33.hard work. All that hard work will pay off eventually. We know that.

:04:34. > :04:39.You have to keep telling theth Lees that. -- the athletes that. It is

:04:40. > :04:43.when you think, wow, what happened? Where did it go wrong? Is it worth

:04:44. > :04:54.it? I am sure, at the end of the day, it is. This venue will hold the

:04:55. > :04:57.events next February. It is a great city and the athletes have

:04:58. > :04:59.experienced that, many times competing in Birmingham for our

:05:00. > :05:05.international indoors. I think it will be a great chasm Ionships. --

:05:06. > :05:09.championships. There's no respite and they will have to get themselves

:05:10. > :05:14.up again. It is one of their targets, I am sure, for a lot of

:05:15. > :05:20.them from the indoors back into the Commonwealth Games. Common wealths,

:05:21. > :05:24.Europeans. Greg Rutherford said he was not competing in the

:05:25. > :05:27.championships because he's had a stop-start season with injury. He

:05:28. > :05:32.wants to be fit enough to do an indoor season. He wants to compete

:05:33. > :05:37.in Birmingham. I retired in Birmingham. My final competition was

:05:38. > :05:41.at the indoor championships there. I have a love affair with the city.

:05:42. > :05:45.They said goodbye in a wonderful way for me. I understand why Greg says

:05:46. > :05:48.he wants to be here, wants to compete. Ultimately, you want to

:05:49. > :05:54.compete well. When you have won the titles that Greg has done, you want

:05:55. > :05:57.to do it right. Perhaps stepping back from this outdoors season and

:05:58. > :06:00.getting himself focussed for that is the right decision. That is a way

:06:01. > :06:02.off. We have plenty to come this afternoon for you, though. This is

:06:03. > :06:15.what you can expect. Rio gold-medallist Dalliah Muhammad

:06:16. > :06:22.and Eilidh Doyle will be in the 400 metres hurdles.

:06:23. > :06:34.??TAKE Kyle Langford will be in the 800 metres.

:06:35. > :06:40.And Abdi Jama and Chijindu Ujah will be in the men's 100 metres.

:06:41. > :06:51.A 3,000 meet irfield, which includes Hasan. Andrew Pozzi features in a

:06:52. > :07:03.high-class sprints hurdle field. So the first event will be the

:07:04. > :07:11.women's 400 metres hurdles, featuring Eilidh Doyle. Kyle

:07:12. > :07:17.Langford followed by a 100-metre battle, featuring two of that

:07:18. > :07:24.quarter who won that gold in London. It is the men's 110 murderles with

:07:25. > :07:31.Andrew Pozzi. The women's 100 metres time follows.

:07:32. > :07:38.Isaac Makwala will be back. There is a women's 400-metre field n which

:07:39. > :07:46.all three of the medallists will be on the track, including Allyson

:07:47. > :07:50.Felix. And the last a 3,000 lap of honour for Mo Farah, the Olympic

:07:51. > :07:53.champion. It will be coming bang, bang, bang, bang throughout the

:07:54. > :07:58.afternoon. So much top-class athletics to come. I mentioned

:07:59. > :08:03.Andrew Pozzi there. He must have watched that final and thought, why,

:08:04. > :08:08.why, what happened? How did it come that I was not on the start line?

:08:09. > :08:11.The times he's produced this season would have seen him pushing through

:08:12. > :08:14.that line, in some shape that could have got a medal.

:08:15. > :08:23.You are spot on. It is the most frustrating thing when you know you

:08:24. > :08:27.can deliver. He won the indoors championships. Coming to a home

:08:28. > :08:31.games we had a lot of hope he can raise his game a little bit. It only

:08:32. > :08:35.takes a minor error in hurdles for you to be completely out of the

:08:36. > :08:39.equation. Unfortunately that is what happened to Andrew. It will be his

:08:40. > :08:43.time again. He's still pretty young. It is a technical event. It means

:08:44. > :08:48.he'll get into the grove of it. Once he does, he'll be dangerous. And the

:08:49. > :08:54.800 metres featuring Kyle Langford w that glorious fourth. There were a

:08:55. > :08:58.few in London. Here is one of those from a young athlete you feel has

:08:59. > :09:03.come on so much - ranked 4th in the world.

:09:04. > :09:09.He learnt so much in those championships. It will bode him well

:09:10. > :09:14.in the future. We spoke to him in the studio. He was a breath of fresh

:09:15. > :09:18.air. I love his attitude. He needs to race well and enjoy the moments

:09:19. > :09:22.where he's up against top class fields. He's so young, coming out of

:09:23. > :09:28.the junior ranks, to compete at this level for him, it is great. Talking

:09:29. > :09:31.about how high he aims, he said I will replace Mo. So his timing

:09:32. > :09:35.couldn't be better. Mo Farah competing here for the last time on

:09:36. > :09:39.a British track today. You are right. That refreshing attitude,

:09:40. > :09:44.nothing wrong with that. You never know where you're going to go. Let's

:09:45. > :09:47.relive an event from earlier on because the women's 100 metres

:09:48. > :09:52.finals are coming newspaper an hour or so. Earlier on we had two very

:09:53. > :10:26.heats. Schippers is out closely, only three

:10:27. > :10:31.to go through automatically. Schippers has ground to make up.

:10:32. > :10:40.Schippers having to work hard. She's run out of the automatic places.

:10:41. > :10:48.Talot with 10.95. Your finalists will go off at about

:10:49. > :11:00.4.05pm. Dina Asher-Smith running herself

:11:01. > :11:10.into great shape throughout that championship and looking good today.

:11:11. > :11:18.It is a great final we have in prospect. Now on the track it is the

:11:19. > :11:22.women's 400-metre hurdles. There is the British captain, Eilidh Doyle.

:11:23. > :11:24.Out there in a very strong field as well.

:11:25. > :11:38.It is a loaded field. I think she had a disapointeding championships

:11:39. > :11:42.from her point of view. She has to keep racing. Keep her head up and

:11:43. > :11:46.she'll be roared on by this crowd. Mr Thompson will be on the sofa

:11:47. > :11:57.thinking you are thinking about him. You know that, don't you?

:11:58. > :12:33.Shamier Little a disappointment from the contingent. And Eilidh Doyle is

:12:34. > :12:37.on the inside here. Finalist in Rio and London, at the

:12:38. > :12:41.Olympics and the World Championships and she stepped into the relay and

:12:42. > :12:44.scored address well for medals. The Olympics and the World

:12:45. > :12:56.Championships. There's the line up. It is Doyle and Little, Muhammad,

:12:57. > :13:05.Russell - there would have been five of the World Championship finalists

:13:06. > :13:25.in this one. Adelle Tracey had to drop out. So Doyle on the inside.

:13:26. > :13:32.Eilidh Doyle will feel the love from this crowd. A finalist at the World

:13:33. > :13:38.Championships, where she finished eighth. Little alongside her, who

:13:39. > :13:47.was so disappointing in the World Championships.

:13:48. > :13:58.Just outside the medals at the World Championships and Russell looking

:13:59. > :14:07.powerful. Alongside Petersen. Doyle in a good position here.

:14:08. > :14:20.Shamier Little struggling. Through comes Russell, the Jamaican. Doyle

:14:21. > :14:23.labouring over a little bit. Russell in third. Doyle in fourth.

:14:24. > :14:40.54. 20 Hejnova, victory here in the

:14:41. > :14:50.Diamond League. She's qualified for the Diamond League final in Zurich.

:14:51. > :14:54.Best heat here by Hejnova, who takes the victory. She tends to finish

:14:55. > :15:00.pretty strongly. Didn't quite in the final in London. Had enough here to

:15:01. > :15:06.just overhold. London was run about a second faster

:15:07. > :15:12.than this victory time. But Hejnova, as you mentioned is not the fastest.

:15:13. > :15:17.She doesn't run the fastest first 200 metres. She has a good solid

:15:18. > :15:21.technique. Once she can get to that high pace and maintain it, with the

:15:22. > :15:24.good strike pattern, it will put you into a good position. That is what

:15:25. > :15:29.Hejnova always tends to find herself in. She's been a little bit sharper

:15:30. > :15:31.this year. Earlier I think she would have been more of a contender in

:15:32. > :16:02.this race in London. Hejnova came through when it

:16:03. > :16:15.mattered. Good finish between Hejnova and Delilah Muhammad.

:16:16. > :16:18.Hejnova has that strength. She is not blisteringly quick, but power in

:16:19. > :16:27.the latter stages of the 400 hurdles is so important. Hejnova has that

:16:28. > :16:37.strength. She took the victory. We will have a chat with her. Eilidh

:16:38. > :16:41.Doyle is in fourth place. Thanks, Andrew. As you came into the

:16:42. > :16:45.home straight, you looked like it would be challenging for a victory.

:16:46. > :16:50.How would you assess the race? It was similar to the final at the

:16:51. > :16:58.World Championships. I got off well and then had to fight back. It

:16:59. > :17:02.didn't feel that quick. I was surprised that the speed. After the

:17:03. > :17:06.champs, business is not done to you guys. The Diamond League circuit

:17:07. > :17:10.continues. There are points to be chased and performances to be

:17:11. > :17:15.delivered. What is it like for you to do that? The hardest part is to

:17:16. > :17:20.try to keep training. The racing is the fun part. Actually motivating

:17:21. > :17:25.yourself is tough going. But is nice to have the races afterwards. You

:17:26. > :17:31.pick the World Championships, so you may as well keep going. The blood

:17:32. > :17:40.going forward and well done on your team captaincy. You did us proud.

:17:41. > :17:48.While we were switching over from BBC Two to BBC One, the third of the

:17:49. > :17:53.Paralympic class races was run, the T44 men, featuring Jonnie Peacock, a

:17:54. > :17:59.crowd favourite. A huge champion of London 2012 and Rio 2016. Just a few

:18:00. > :18:06.weeks ago, he won his second world title here, the 100m T44 in London,

:18:07. > :18:10.streaking away, putting in a wonderful performance. He is a crowd

:18:11. > :18:14.pleaser, loves these occasions. The crowd loved him too. And Richard

:18:15. > :18:18.Brown was supposed to be in the line-up. He pulled out a couple of

:18:19. > :18:20.days ago, so his great rival was not there. What is going to be a

:18:21. > :18:31.walkover for Jonnie Peacock? walkover for Jonnie

:18:32. > :18:39.COMMENTATOR: Jonnie Peacock in lane four. The world champion over the

:18:40. > :18:42.100m, and gets off to a good start. The two good sprinters are going

:18:43. > :18:50.neck and neck. As expected, Jonnie Peacock gets the win. Not by much.

:18:51. > :18:57.11.03, the winning time. But out pretty well. Not much to choose

:18:58. > :19:05.between them, but it is there that he guessed -- guessed that

:19:06. > :19:10.advantage. Peacock had just enough to get the win. Not his quickest

:19:11. > :19:15.time. He ran so quick in those World Championships. The gold medal is of

:19:16. > :19:24.course the most important thing. A great race between the two of them.

:19:25. > :19:28.Jonnie, well done, a great win in front of a home crowd. Richard

:19:29. > :19:32.Whitehead was saying earlier that he has been on chocolate and pizza,

:19:33. > :19:35.enjoying himself posed World Championships. What is it like to

:19:36. > :19:40.bridge that gap once you have done what you set out to do and then have

:19:41. > :19:44.to come back and compete here? Firstly, it is fantastic that they

:19:45. > :19:51.have got the event on here today. It hasn't been here three years, so I

:19:52. > :19:55.wanted to take the opportunity. It sounds like they have some great

:19:56. > :20:00.plans for Paralympic sport, and hopefully this event should be back

:20:01. > :20:04.here for the next four years. Once again, it has captured everybody's

:20:05. > :20:10.imagination. It must be fantastic to be a part of that. You are a big

:20:11. > :20:16.part of why it is growing. It's so good when you come back into this

:20:17. > :20:20.country. The way they soaked up Paralympic sport is fantastic. It's

:20:21. > :20:27.literally unlike anything else. I have been looking at the London 2017

:20:28. > :20:31.world champs. We really hit it hard. This is the first time I have them a

:20:32. > :20:37.warm-up since my final, the first time I put my blade on, apart from

:20:38. > :20:40.yesterday, when I ran a kilometre for the superhero triathlon, which

:20:41. > :20:47.was great fun. So I thought I would be about 11.5, so I am happy. Enjoy

:20:48. > :20:54.your downtime, whenever it comes. Cheers. He is a huge star, Jonnie

:20:55. > :21:01.Peacock. Could that man be one of our next big stars of the track?

:21:02. > :21:04.Kyle Langford? He certainly has the charisma and personality. Coming

:21:05. > :21:09.into the World Championships come he finished fourth in the final with

:21:10. > :21:15.such a great run. Had he timed it a tiny bit better, he would have been

:21:16. > :21:21.amongst the medals. I think he would have been, but it's about learning.

:21:22. > :21:25.These environments give you something. You must always take

:21:26. > :21:29.something away. Question yourself, and he does that. He has a great

:21:30. > :21:34.team around him and bags of personality, which is what you need.

:21:35. > :21:38.Let's hand you over to your commentary team. The eagle eared

:21:39. > :21:41.amongst you will have noticed that that was not Andrew Cotter, it was

:21:42. > :21:46.Steve Cram calling the Jonnie Peacock race. Steve, it is you now

:21:47. > :21:51.with Paula Radcliffe. No, it's Alistair McGowan here, doing a very

:21:52. > :21:56.good impersonation. Which he does do of Brendan. Anyway, let's not get

:21:57. > :22:02.ahead of ourselves with Kyle. This is a young guy who I thought

:22:03. > :22:05.performed web of expectation at the World Championships. He was close to

:22:06. > :22:11.a medal, but by his own admission still has a way to go to be a

:22:12. > :22:13.consistent contender at a major championships in this event, because

:22:14. > :22:20.it's still an incredibly tough event. Bearing in mind the two of

:22:21. > :22:26.three of the real contenders didn't make the competition and they will

:22:27. > :22:29.be back, he might not make the final. He is still developing the

:22:30. > :22:34.confidence that he drew from what he did in London, which will certainly

:22:35. > :22:37.help him going forward. Kyle is joined here by another of our very

:22:38. > :22:59.good athletes, Elliot Giles. Nigel Amos of Botswana is in this as

:23:00. > :23:09.well. Asbel Kiprop has not been in the best shape. Elliot Giles is from

:23:10. > :23:13.the local club, the Birchfield Harriers. Kyle will be delighted to

:23:14. > :23:30.be racing the great man, Kiprop. All of the work he has put in over

:23:31. > :23:46.the last few years is coming to fruition. This man was the prerace

:23:47. > :23:54.favourite. Amos faded in the home straight when others were charging

:23:55. > :24:00.in. McBride led the final outing. He is a frontrunner by nature, but the

:24:01. > :24:05.way he did it in the final wasn't smart and he finished eighth. So the

:24:06. > :24:10.men's 800m here is a really open race. I didn't mention Erik

:24:11. > :24:31.Sowinski. Huge disappointment for Botswana

:24:32. > :24:36.with the whole Isaac Makwala thing and Amos here probably got

:24:37. > :24:43.overlooked. When Korea didn't get the final, you thought that Amos

:24:44. > :24:47.might be the man. And the weather race panned out, it wasn't so. He is

:24:48. > :24:59.trying to make amends for that. The British boys are trying to get

:25:00. > :25:05.personal bests from this. I don't think how did much wrong in his semi

:25:06. > :25:17.and his final. He has just got those next steps to make. Tyler is setting

:25:18. > :25:28.off this pace by a long way. Amos now leading from McBride. And in the

:25:29. > :25:39.quicker finishers. Lewandowski is there. Kyle Langford beginning to

:25:40. > :25:49.move. Elliot Giles will want to go with Adam Truscott. When Amos is

:25:50. > :25:55.running well, Amos will stay strong in the home straight and Amos

:25:56. > :26:00.continues to kick away. Then Kszczot, Lewandowski, McBride. The

:26:01. > :26:10.two Poles come second and third. No doubt about the winner. The two

:26:11. > :26:14.Brits were fifth and sixth. I don't know what went wrong for Amos at the

:26:15. > :26:25.World Championships. If he had just run it like that... He has looked as

:26:26. > :26:28.though he is strong enough. Just couldn't hang together in the World

:26:29. > :26:33.Championship final. That result is not right, I'm not sure why that is

:26:34. > :26:38.coming up. That is your winner, and he won comfortably in the end,

:26:39. > :26:42.Paula. He did, and he looked a different athlete of the athlete ran

:26:43. > :26:48.a week ago in the final of the 800m in London. Maybe he was sick. We

:26:49. > :26:51.know there were things going around, but he certainly looked a much

:26:52. > :26:55.stronger athlete. He attacked quickly and caught the others

:26:56. > :27:04.napping at the back. Certainly Adam Kszczot. Elliot Giles was the one

:27:05. > :27:09.who found the room on the inside. He was in the right place and he had a

:27:10. > :27:16.clearer run through. Kyle Langford had to go very wide, as did Adam

:27:17. > :27:22.Kszczot. But Adam got their to pip Lewandowski on the line. But there

:27:23. > :27:26.was a clear winner, Madeleine Moss, out in front, looking strong and

:27:27. > :27:32.making up for what happened in London -- Nigel Amos.

:27:33. > :27:50.We will tidy up the result. That caption wasn't right. Clear winner

:27:51. > :27:55.here. And I think Phil has Kyle and Elliott with him. Indeed I do,

:27:56. > :28:00.Steve. After your efforts at the World Championships, fourth place,

:28:01. > :28:07.has life changed for you? Are more people noticing you? Yeah, is being

:28:08. > :28:14.crazy. The public reception has been mad. It's been good. It's been a bit

:28:15. > :28:20.of a hard week this week, getting back into the groove. Everything I

:28:21. > :28:24.have done was for the World Championships, so trying to stay

:28:25. > :28:34.motivated this week has been harder. I thought the race went OK. I worked

:28:35. > :28:38.hard. I felt like was putting in more energy than everybody else. But

:28:39. > :28:43.I am just having fun at the end of the season now, just enjoying it. I

:28:44. > :28:46.suppose the same is true for you, Elliott, you are popping up your

:28:47. > :28:51.experience with these races, but you are trying to get the balance right

:28:52. > :28:55.after peaking for the worlds. You have got it, it is trying to find

:28:56. > :28:59.the balance. I am a bit more level-headed at the moment, but is

:29:00. > :29:04.tough. When the champs are gone, it goes into different territory. You

:29:05. > :29:16.are more relaxed. That is probably why the times were slower. It was a

:29:17. > :29:17.good race. Keep the good form going. Well, we can tidy up the results for

:29:18. > :29:37.you. Back to this pole vault. Great

:29:38. > :29:42.Britain's Holly Bradshaw has had two fails at this height of 4.68m. She

:29:43. > :29:51.has to go clear to remain in the competition. Possibly her best of

:29:52. > :29:55.the afternoon, but three fouls for Bradshaw. Struggled with the wind

:29:56. > :30:04.here this afternoon, we are gusting down the Alexander Stadium. She has

:30:05. > :30:07.had a good summer, of sorts. Disappointment with her World

:30:08. > :30:11.Championships. She said she was disappointed mother she has jumped a

:30:12. > :30:16.British record. There is a lot to take from this year. Your thoughts,

:30:17. > :30:21.Tony? That was by the her best attempt. As a pole vaulter, you

:30:22. > :30:25.stand at the end of the runway, waiting. She is just having a chat

:30:26. > :30:28.with Scott. You wait for a consistent wind so that you can set

:30:29. > :30:40.off the poor yourself with that wind to get good speed. Sandy Morris also

:30:41. > :30:47.failed at that height. How about that? The world champion added to

:30:48. > :30:56.her title last year. She is a cut above the rest, Stefanidi. She will

:30:57. > :31:07.have changed her pole. She really gets up above the poll quickly.

:31:08. > :31:15.Meijer, if she goes clear here will knock Holly Bradshaw. Bradshaw is in

:31:16. > :31:20.second place behind Stefanidi. Meijer looks supported on that, her

:31:21. > :31:26.third attempt. So Meijer's best, 4.61. Will have to

:31:27. > :31:31.settle for third. Stefanidi, then, 4. 75 - second

:31:32. > :31:38.attempt. What a clearance that is! Really has

:31:39. > :31:46.been so dominant. Once again here in Birmingham, proving her class.

:31:47. > :31:50.So we move on to the men's 100 metres, as they get ready. Watch one

:31:51. > :31:54.more time the clearance of Stefanidi. Why not? Wasn't too

:31:55. > :32:04.shabby. That is my technical knowledge of the pole vault.

:32:05. > :32:12.Adam Gemili goes in the 100 metres. Not Gemili, who ran so well on the

:32:13. > :32:17.second leg in the 4x100. Chijindu Ujah, the lead man in that quartet.

:32:18. > :32:23.He won in Rome and London, he would have been disappointed to go to the

:32:24. > :32:27.semi-finals of the individual 100s. Alongside him James Dasaolu. Fifth

:32:28. > :32:35.in his semifinal in the 100 in London. Not part of the relay squad.

:32:36. > :32:40.An outstanding domestic line-up here.

:32:41. > :32:46.Ojie Edoburun, won the English title in Bedford in June, 10.12. European

:32:47. > :32:54.under 23 champion. Zharnel Hughes, better known for the 200 is yet to

:32:55. > :32:58.rediscover the form that took him to the World Championships a couple of

:32:59. > :33:03.years ago. Seventh in the semifinal in London over that distance. And on

:33:04. > :33:10.his home track Kyle De Escofet, the youngest in the line-up at 20.

:33:11. > :33:35.10.21 his new PB this season. Harry Aikines-Aryeetey not getting

:33:36. > :33:42.to join in the celebrations. Prescod missing here. Aa part from that it

:33:43. > :33:51.is a full house, loaded with British talent.

:33:52. > :33:57.And, well, Adam Gemili there springing out. First false start of

:33:58. > :34:00.the day. We hope, he hopes it is not a false start because I think

:34:01. > :34:05.everyone excited to see how he can run. He competed in the trails here

:34:06. > :34:10.and struggled with six in the 200 in June. And we learned afterwards that

:34:11. > :34:16.he had been running under instructions with a niggle. Then we

:34:17. > :34:20.saw Adam Gemili in the relay. I wonder, I fear that he might have

:34:21. > :34:26.false started here. Let's have a look. Your fear could be right,

:34:27. > :34:33.Andrew. They often are, Colin! They often are! Head seems to go before

:34:34. > :34:40.everyone else's. It is tight. Lane three, Adam Gemili will be

:34:41. > :34:45.disqualified here. That is such a shame for everyone who wanted to see

:34:46. > :34:49.him race against everyone else here. A few jeers from the crowd. I

:34:50. > :34:53.thought Gatlin had appeared again. It is a shame because he had been

:34:54. > :34:57.run sog well again in that relay. People really wanted to see what he

:34:58. > :35:01.could do here. I think he wanted to see what he could do after running

:35:02. > :35:05.so well down the back straight, that second leg in the relay. I think

:35:06. > :35:11.he'll be frustrated, irritated. I think when they saw him the reaction

:35:12. > :35:16.times he'll see that clearly. He has been moved from the track for a real

:35:17. > :35:20.reason. I think this race for him most of all it was important today

:35:21. > :35:24.this race because he felt aggrieved he had not got to run individually

:35:25. > :35:28.in the World Championships because he had that niggle and was coming

:35:29. > :35:32.back and could show what he could do. And this was a chance to show

:35:33. > :35:35.against the best of British sprintings that he's just about the

:35:36. > :35:40.best when he's on song. That's painful. Painful to watch. He'll be

:35:41. > :35:51.frustrated. But now going back to business. So Robertson,

:35:52. > :35:57.Aikines-Aryeetey, Ujah, Dasaolu, Edoburun, Hughes, Escofet. Lane

:35:58. > :36:07.three, Adam now watching the rest of the spectators here in The Stadium.

:36:08. > :36:14.Away this time, a good start from Chijindu Ujah. Tries to drive on, it

:36:15. > :36:21.is Ujah clear at the moment. Zharnel Hughes coming through. Ujah

:36:22. > :36:26.gets it on the line, 10.09. A good win for Ujah. It's been a good

:36:27. > :36:30.season for Ujah. We mentioned that dip in not reaching the final of the

:36:31. > :36:35.World Championships individually. That is a stiff competition. He's

:36:36. > :36:40.run around the 10 second flat mark all season. He has a good win here

:36:41. > :36:43.in the Birmingham meeting. Not a Diamond League event, but still

:36:44. > :36:48.stiff competition. You want the local bragging rights as well. Spot

:36:49. > :36:55.on. For him it was important that he's demonstrated he's the number

:36:56. > :37:00.one 100-metre runner our country. Mr Prescod may have something to say

:37:01. > :37:04.about that. CJ has been so consistent this season. He's a

:37:05. > :37:11.lovely runner when he gets going. Drives well - good technique, very

:37:12. > :37:15.effective. You marry that with a good head and you get a fantastic

:37:16. > :37:21.athlete. The future is bright for him. More experienced game time and

:37:22. > :37:29.time again. I want to see when he gets under that 10 second mark more

:37:30. > :37:34.consistently. He's from the 10.2s to the 10.1s. His next step will be to

:37:35. > :37:40.get to the 10 second mark on a consistent basis. He's not that far

:37:41. > :37:44.away. So, a good win from Chijindu Ujah, pressurised, but also by

:37:45. > :37:50.Zharnel Hughes, finishing quickly. Let's confirm the result for you. It

:37:51. > :37:55.is a shame for Adam Gemili. I can see they are both with Phil just

:37:56. > :37:59.now. CJ, I start with you - fine win on

:38:00. > :38:05.the back of, well, the most famous win of your life so far. And that 4

:38:06. > :38:10.by one lives in the memory for all of us. I was optimistic. I wanted to

:38:11. > :38:15.come out here and put on a show for the crowds and have fun. My legs are

:38:16. > :38:18.still a bit jelly. I'm trying to get ready for Zurich and this crowd's

:38:19. > :38:23.amazing. I love it. James, let's bring you in. Seeing what the guys

:38:24. > :38:26.were able to achieve in the relay, but in an individual event we know

:38:27. > :38:32.you guys are hovering around - you are pushing each other all the time

:38:33. > :38:39.to get to that next level. It is amazing I would have loved to have

:38:40. > :38:44.been part of it. Today it is about having fun in front of a British

:38:45. > :38:50.crowd, who are amazing for their support and stuff. It was all about

:38:51. > :38:54.fun, but let's bring in Adam. You were disappointed, you wanted to run

:38:55. > :38:59.so desperately today. Put into words what happened, if you can. Honestly,

:39:00. > :39:03.I don't know. I didn't feel like I false started. That's the first time

:39:04. > :39:06.in my career that's ever happened to me. I thought I was trying to

:39:07. > :39:11.execute... I know I'm in great shape. I know I have not had an

:39:12. > :39:14.individual race to prove it. The track is amazing. And I feel like I

:39:15. > :39:19.have let so many people come out to see this race and I just feel like

:39:20. > :39:26.I've let so many people down. It is gutting. Absolutely gutting. I don't

:39:27. > :39:30.have any words to say, like. I know it is only like the Grand Prix, it

:39:31. > :39:35.is not the world champs, but it feels the same for me. This was a

:39:36. > :39:39.redemption race and to show I am back in good shape and running fast.

:39:40. > :39:44.I want to say sorry if you tuned in. That's all I can say, really. No

:39:45. > :39:59.need to apologise. When will that chance for you? I am racing in Sir

:40:00. > :40:00.ribbing, Berlin -- Zurich and Berlin.

:40:01. > :40:08.Thank you. THE COMMENTATOR: The next field

:40:09. > :40:16.event is the men's high jump. Robert Grabarz and Tom Gale, looking

:40:17. > :40:27.forward to see how he deals with this.

:40:28. > :40:38.Very light work of that. As you would expect, jumped 2. 35 to take

:40:39. > :40:40.gold last week. Barshim very impressive performance

:40:41. > :40:47.across the World Championships. Let's look at this from the side.

:40:48. > :40:53.Just a great clearance. He goes so vertical so well. Again at 2. 20, it

:40:54. > :40:58.is so easy. Too easy for Barshim, but Grabarz has a fall at this

:40:59. > :41:05.height. Already second attempt, 2. 20. Oh! Gave it a rattle. Came out

:41:06. > :41:09.of his arch early. You need to hold it, like a wheel turning you have to

:41:10. > :41:15.go around the wheel and think, oh, it's clear. Nearly went through it.

:41:16. > :41:22.It was a clearance for Grabarz. 2. 24 is the next height. Long strides

:41:23. > :41:28.turn to short as he takes the curb. Didn't time his hips rising there

:41:29. > :41:34.through the clearance. Here is Tom Gale. 2.30, he jumped, the

:41:35. > :41:40.18-year-old. Clearance at 2. 24. Look at that. A young man looking

:41:41. > :41:45.really good. First time I have really seen him jump in this sort of

:41:46. > :41:51.company. Looking good. He's improved 12 acceptsy metres this year. He

:41:52. > :41:55.comes off the floor so well. So, he's one of those prospects for

:41:56. > :41:57.the future that Britain can hopefully really look forward to. A

:41:58. > :42:05.map to join the senior team. Well, next on the track you can see

:42:06. > :42:29.the high jumpers. This is a race which doesn't have

:42:30. > :42:32.any outstanding favourites. Many of them ran in the relay at the World

:42:33. > :42:49.Championships. Yousif playing his part in that.

:42:50. > :42:57.Changed legs from the first round to the second round. Built around this

:42:58. > :43:00.man, Cowan, 32 years of age. Having a brilliant season, coming to all

:43:01. > :43:08.this a little bit late in his career. He started his career late,

:43:09. > :43:14.though, he'd say. Kevin Borlee n the semifinal for Belgium. Three of the

:43:15. > :43:19.Borlee family. He ran a 43 split. Vernon Norwood didn't make the

:43:20. > :43:27.American squad. He's a 44.4 man this year. Closest personal best. And the

:43:28. > :43:35.quickest in the field here. Brian Gregan, from Ireland.

:43:36. > :43:40.Semi-finalist individually. Well, Martyn became a father for the

:43:41. > :43:43.second time this week - a baby girl. Congratulations to him and his wife.

:43:44. > :43:50.Adding to that brilliant Bronze Medal. Seven World Championships for

:43:51. > :43:54.Martyn Rooney. On the inside this young man here, Josephus Lyles, from

:43:55. > :43:58.the United States - he's only 19. Just fresh from the pan American

:43:59. > :44:02.junior championships, where he won a silver medal for his country. A

:44:03. > :44:04.great talent he is. He's in lane one.

:44:05. > :44:10.So, it is not a Diamond League event. It is a bit of a chance again

:44:11. > :44:13.for the British athletes to take on some good opposition and perhaps,

:44:14. > :44:18.certainly for Martyn Rooney, he will look at the very least his season's

:44:19. > :44:21.best, ran great in the relay. It's been Dwayne Cowan who has been the

:44:22. > :44:32.Brit to follow. So Cowan in lane six. Rooney's in

:44:33. > :44:37.two. Rabah Yousif out there in lane seven. Yousif is watching that

:44:38. > :44:43.start. The French man going well. Right in the middle, Vernon Norwood,

:44:44. > :44:50.in the dark strip for the USA. Already chased up on Borlee. Cowan

:44:51. > :44:56.just left through that 200 metres. The American youngster Lyles has won

:44:57. > :45:02.a very good first 250. It is Rabah Yousif. Norwood, in contention here.

:45:03. > :45:09.Norwood with a two-metre lead. Here comes Cowan. Finishing quickly down

:45:10. > :45:19.the home straight. Will Cowan get there? Cowan wins it. 45. 35. Well

:45:20. > :45:23.done to Dwayne Cowan. His season gets better and better. At the

:45:24. > :45:28.beginning of the year he could not have dreamt what was ahead of him in

:45:29. > :45:33.2017. Went to the British Championships, having got the

:45:34. > :45:37.qualifying time and then got selected and then, as I said, in

:45:38. > :45:40.that relay, really raised his game. What about this for a win! In front

:45:41. > :45:55.of the home crowd. That race was a microcosm of his

:45:56. > :46:01.career. There was a point here at 200m where you thought, he has left

:46:02. > :46:05.this too late. But he kept holding. He wasn't losing any more ground.

:46:06. > :46:12.Vernon Millward is a very high-calibre athlete indeed, as you

:46:13. > :46:18.said. You can see that he is getting stronger and stronger. There is only

:46:19. > :46:22.one winner at this point. Beautifully timed race by Dwayne

:46:23. > :46:30.Cowan. That is the beauty of the 400m. Cowan has other wonderful

:46:31. > :46:39.season. He ran beautifully in the relay in the World Championships. It

:46:40. > :46:43.was a good one as well for Rabah Yousif for a while, but difficult to

:46:44. > :46:49.Dwayne Cowan finishing so beautifully. Well, his dad was the

:46:50. > :46:55.most famous man in the family for quite a while, but he is fast

:46:56. > :47:08.writing his own story here. That is a personal best. Not by much, a

:47:09. > :47:17.couple of hundredths. Let's just confirm the results. Another

:47:18. > :47:20.personal best for him, Phil? Yes, Steve. Another personal best for

:47:21. > :47:28.you. Your season keeps getting better. I am so happy I got a PB. I

:47:29. > :47:34.think it is my last 400, so it was my last chance. Tell me about the

:47:35. > :47:38.year overall when you came into it and you are thinking, what are my

:47:39. > :47:51.goals this year? How many have you ticked off the list? My goal was to

:47:52. > :48:00.get into the 44s. I PB'd three times this season. This is the Diamond

:48:01. > :48:07.League and I got the win, so I am happy. I got a bronze medal in the

:48:08. > :48:15.4x4. First Diamond League win. Build on it, blame. Well done. GABBY

:48:16. > :48:20.LOGAN: Congratulations to Dwayne, one of the great success stories of

:48:21. > :48:22.the season, the way he has come through reminiscent of Christine

:48:23. > :48:32.Ohuruogu, the way he finishes the 400m. You may have noticed the

:48:33. > :48:37.coaching similarity between them. One hour and six minutes to Mo Time,

:48:38. > :48:41.the last time we will see him run a track race in this country. The

:48:42. > :48:45.stadium is packed. We are seeing great athletics, but many of them

:48:46. > :48:49.are here to say goodbye and thank you to one of our greatest ever

:48:50. > :48:53.athletes, who has been so dominant in the last four or five global

:48:54. > :48:56.major championships. He was in reflective mood this week when

:48:57. > :49:03.talking to Phil Jones about his gold and silver performances in London.

:49:04. > :49:09.Most people dream of becoming world champions once or twice and have an

:49:10. > :49:16.amazing career. It would have been awesome to come away with two gold

:49:17. > :49:24.medals, but I have to settle for silver and gold. The ten was really

:49:25. > :49:28.tough. The guys made it so hard. Just four seconds off my personal

:49:29. > :49:34.best in the champs and then to come back in the 5K, I was pretty tired.

:49:35. > :49:38.My body was beaten up. Going into the last lap, I am normally at the

:49:39. > :49:44.front. I had nothing left. They have been trying for the last six years

:49:45. > :49:51.and finally, they did it. He gave everything. But actually, the colour

:49:52. > :49:55.of the medal might not mean as much as the sendoff. The sendoff was

:49:56. > :49:59.amazing. It was incredible to have so many people loving you and

:50:00. > :50:03.clapping you around the track. That moment will never be forgotten. I

:50:04. > :50:07.told myself that whatever happens, I'm going to finish in London. It

:50:08. > :50:12.would have been a little bit letter, but I got up result and there is

:50:13. > :50:18.nothing I could have done. I tried my best. It was still a special

:50:19. > :50:24.moment on that track. Farah is going to make it two gold medals for Great

:50:25. > :50:29.Britain! When you look back on your career, that was obviously the

:50:30. > :50:36.standout week. That was the one moment when I went to Mo. To come

:50:37. > :50:40.away with two gold medals in your hometown, it can't get better. This

:50:41. > :50:46.week, it's not as demanding or as nerve-wracking. Hopefully, I can

:50:47. > :50:50.take care of the race and come away with a good result and say goodbye.

:50:51. > :50:56.Birmingham has been good to me and the crowds have been amazing. I have

:50:57. > :51:01.seen it reported. Do we have to start calling you something

:51:02. > :51:15.different when you are on the road? No, Mo is my name. I just want to go

:51:16. > :51:19.as the Roadrunner, Mo. New mind, fresh. There will be guys running

:51:20. > :51:24.faster than me. It's about starting slowly. What do I need to learn?

:51:25. > :51:32.What does it take? I am sure you will do it with style. I hope so.

:51:33. > :51:37.GABBY LOGAN: Mo is coming up at 4:45 p:m.. Now is the women's turn. It is

:51:38. > :51:41.a loaded race for Andrew Cotter and Paula Radcliffe. This is a

:51:42. > :51:45.fascinating race, one that a huge number of people are looking forward

:51:46. > :51:52.to. We have specialists from a number of events. There are the

:51:53. > :51:55.steeplechasers, the wild cards. Gold and silver-medallists, the two

:51:56. > :51:59.Americans from the World Championships, Emma Coburn and

:52:00. > :52:11.Courtney Frerichs. We will see how they go. Emma Coburn will certainly

:52:12. > :52:14.run a big personal best. The German is there as well. And the tall,

:52:15. > :52:20.familiar figure at the back of Eilish McColgan. Hellen Obiri starts

:52:21. > :52:28.a strong favourite, Paula Radcliffe. She does. She convincingly won the

:52:29. > :52:37.other event in London. She has been running well all year. On paper,

:52:38. > :52:46.Hellen Obiri is the only one who has run close to the record. It will be

:52:47. > :52:53.interesting to see how quickly the likes of Emma Coburn can go. It is a

:52:54. > :52:57.big ask to step back from that victory and run competitively with

:52:58. > :53:01.the likes of Hellen Obiri. The athlete we didn't have a chance to

:53:02. > :53:07.talk about is on the inside in fourth position, Sifan Hassan. She

:53:08. > :53:14.tried the 1500 and 5,000 Dublin London. -- she tried the double.

:53:15. > :53:22.Eilish McColgan, this is her best distance. She was a steeplechaser,

:53:23. > :53:25.but it was too hard and her body was getting too many injuries. But if

:53:26. > :53:35.she were to pick a distance, it would be 1500. It would probably be

:53:36. > :53:45.the 3000m. She is capable of running very fast over 1500m. She is running

:53:46. > :53:55.very wide at the moment, right on the shoes of Konstanze

:53:56. > :54:00.Klosterhalfen. In training, because of how injury prone Eilish McColgan

:54:01. > :54:04.is, she can't do a lot of training. So she has to do the crosstraining,

:54:05. > :54:08.which means the strength is there, but she is struggling to see it come

:54:09. > :54:18.through over 5000m. They will come with time. She has already beaten

:54:19. > :54:22.her my time over 5000m. At the back, you might have caught a glimpse of

:54:23. > :54:28.Rosie Clarke. There is a good American tussle here because you

:54:29. > :54:38.have Molly Huddle, the US 10,000 metre champion who finished eighth

:54:39. > :54:41.in London, as well as Emma Coburn and Shannon Rowbury. The pace is

:54:42. > :54:52.pretty quick. Eilish McColgan is having to put out a steadying hand.

:54:53. > :55:07.Susan Krumins of the Netherlands will be a factor here. I wonder if

:55:08. > :55:19.Tuei is capable of taking the pace. She is behind now. But she is now

:55:20. > :55:32.starting to pick it up a bit and the field is stringing out behind her. A

:55:33. > :55:42.bit of daylight opening up behind Krumins.

:55:43. > :55:49.In Eilish's case, she moved to flat racing because it was easier on her

:55:50. > :55:54.body, so she very much respects the steeplechase. But there will be some

:55:55. > :55:59.runners who think you can't step over from the 3000m steeplechase and

:56:00. > :56:04.think you can run massive PBs and compete with us on the flat. The

:56:05. > :56:13.steeplechasers are starting to get a bit detached from the 3000m flat

:56:14. > :56:25.runners ahead of them. The Australian, Genevieve Lacaze, is

:56:26. > :56:36.there as well. Emma Coburn is just going through. Eilish McColgan is

:56:37. > :56:44.hanging onto the front group. She has the Scottish record in her

:56:45. > :56:49.sights. That has been held by Yvonne Murray for a long time. She is

:56:50. > :56:59.aiming for that and is definitely capable of running a personal best.

:57:00. > :57:10.1988, Yvonne Murray's Scottish record, 8:29.02. But out in front,

:57:11. > :57:21.Hellen Obiri and Sifan Hassan, two of the best in the world, setting

:57:22. > :57:27.the pace and lifting the pace. There are about nine athletes in the

:57:28. > :57:32.front, Eilish McColgan hanging onto the back of that group. Konstanze

:57:33. > :57:38.Klosterhalfen was disappointed with her World Championships. She will be

:57:39. > :57:42.wanted to make amends for that here. I heard she was sick there as well.

:57:43. > :57:51.Maybe that was why she was not able to run at her best. But she has a

:57:52. > :58:01.big range. I don't think she can compete with the likes of Obiri but

:58:02. > :58:04.she can a strong run. The slight figure of the German athlete, but

:58:05. > :58:08.what a talent she is. Eilish McColgan in seventh place at the

:58:09. > :58:15.moment. The front group is a long way clear of Emma Coburn and

:58:16. > :58:34.Courtney Frerichs. There were extraordinary results at

:58:35. > :58:38.the World Championships. But Obiri will be very tough to beat here.

:58:39. > :58:42.Sifan Hassan, who tried to do that double in the World Championships,

:58:43. > :58:50.is alongside Klosterhalfen. McColgan is in a decent position. She is. The

:58:51. > :58:54.pace has dropped a bit. Obiri leading, but not really wanting to

:58:55. > :58:59.lead at this point. She is making sure she has enough left for the

:59:00. > :59:06.surge she will make at some stage. She ran wisely in the 5000m, letting

:59:07. > :59:10.the frontrunner do all the work. Now it seems that Sifan Hassan is trying

:59:11. > :59:16.to recreate that. She has followed Hellen Obiri all the way. The bell

:59:17. > :59:32.sounds and still seven athlete in here. Sifan Hassan has great speed.

:59:33. > :59:39.A wonderful 800 and 1500m runner. Eilish McColgan is trying to stay

:59:40. > :59:51.with them. Five or six now separate themselves from the rest. Obiri,

:59:52. > :00:00.Klosterhalfen, kid can boy. The Sifan Hassan have something left?

:00:01. > :00:09.Hellen Obiri tries to give more, but Sifan Hassan rounds her. Obiri has

:00:10. > :00:17.gone. Sifan Hassan, stretching away. A big win for Sifan Hassan. McColgan

:00:18. > :00:21.fighting hard. McColgan will be just outside the Scottish record, but

:00:22. > :00:24.comes through in sixth place. A great run from the German,

:00:25. > :00:30.Klosterhalfen. But a very impressive win from Sifan Hassan.

:00:31. > :00:35.A great run from Sifan Hassan there. She was frustrated when she walked

:00:36. > :00:42.off the track, certainly from the 1500 metres and for the 57,000,

:00:43. > :00:45.maybe a little -- 5,000, maybe a little she was gaining in the 5,000

:00:46. > :00:50.metres. She was not able to get there. She walked away with a Bronze

:00:51. > :00:56.Medal and the form she showed in 1500 metres was more accurately

:00:57. > :00:59.reflect in that race today. She just shadowed Obiri, who was running wide

:01:00. > :01:09.and leaving that tantalising gap open and then closed it up at that

:01:10. > :01:14.point. Clos clogs going well. -- Klosterhalfen going well.

:01:15. > :01:18.McColgan got a shuffle and a shove. Here she was really struggling. You

:01:19. > :01:23.could tell she didn't have much left in her legs at this point, even to

:01:24. > :01:32.hold a straight line down that home straight.

:01:33. > :01:38.A great finish from Klosterhalfen to make amends for herself and to come

:01:39. > :01:41.away with a personal best there. A big, big personal best for

:01:42. > :01:45.Klosterhalfen, who has not run this distance as often as others have.

:01:46. > :01:49.Look at Hassan, the power she has - able to have a casual look to her

:01:50. > :01:53.side. Nobody there to threaten her. A very good run from Eilish McColgan

:01:54. > :02:01.as well, back in fifth place. It will be a personal best for Eilish

:02:02. > :02:03.McColgan by a fraction. But Hellen Obiri, perhaps a little

:02:04. > :02:14.disappointing. It is a personal best for Eilish

:02:15. > :02:20.McColgan, down to 8. 31 flat. Sifan Hassan, 8: 28.90. A personal

:02:21. > :02:33.best. A meeting record. A German record for Klosterhalfen.

:02:34. > :02:45.We've had a busy afternoon already. Lynsey Sharp finished second.

:02:46. > :02:53.After winning World Championship silver last week Wilson topped the

:02:54. > :02:59.pile today in the men's long drop. Katerina Stefanidi continued her

:03:00. > :03:09.undefeated, with another pole vault victory.

:03:10. > :03:25.O'Hare of Great Britain second a close second.

:03:26. > :03:33.Sophie Hahn won in the 100 metres. Jake Wightman was disqualified.

:03:34. > :03:40.Jonathan Peacock in the T44, 100 metres, he won at 11.03 seconds.

:03:41. > :03:47.There's some of the day's headlines. Let's get out to the field.

:03:48. > :04:11.Women's discus. Here is a look back.

:04:12. > :04:18.Caballero - the 27-year-old Cuban. In the second round, beyond 65

:04:19. > :04:27.metres there. So 65. 24. Her team-mates may chase

:04:28. > :04:34.in that same round. Yaimi Perez, down that left sector,

:04:35. > :04:41.gave it a good flight. Almost a similar distance. A very similar

:04:42. > :04:48.distance. 65. 11. That was enough for third.

:04:49. > :04:52.Real dominance from Perkovic, as we have seen from the last couple of

:04:53. > :04:56.years. The double Olympic champion. Now the double world champion. She

:04:57. > :05:04.saved her best for last. This was the sixth and final round. She

:05:05. > :05:14.already had a throw a 67. 32. And dropped that in at 6751.

:05:15. > :05:20.-- 67.51. That last-round throw. Held on to it

:05:21. > :05:26.a little longer. So another victory for Sandra

:05:27. > :05:28.Perkovic. So confirmation of their places

:05:29. > :05:52.there. Robert Grabarz in this high jump.

:05:53. > :05:57.Under some pressure here. He is a pressure man. He saw the young Tom

:05:58. > :06:02.Gale, 18-year-old team-mate go clear. Robbie... Too much for him

:06:03. > :06:11.today. He's had a real bumpy ride this year. He had his appendix

:06:12. > :06:23.removed in the winter. He did well in qualifying. Grabarz slightly down

:06:24. > :06:27.today again. But Grabarz equalled sixth at the World Championships

:06:28. > :06:33.last week. We are just about ready for the

:06:34. > :06:38.men's 110 metres hurdle. David King, one of a couple of Britons going

:06:39. > :06:47.here. Shane Brathwaite, sixth at the World

:06:48. > :06:52.Championships. Just doing enough to move through the rounds, get into

:06:53. > :06:57.the final. Andrew Pozzi, missed that final by just 100th of a second. He

:06:58. > :07:03.was leading in the semifinal until he hit the penultimate barrier.

:07:04. > :07:07.Again an indicator of what can happen in the hurdles. Ortega made a

:07:08. > :07:13.mess of the final in London. Cuban who now runs for Spain. And

:07:14. > :07:19.then Garfield Darien was cleared in bronze until hitting the ninth

:07:20. > :07:23.hurdle in the final. A very impressive athlete, indeed, Garfield

:07:24. > :07:28.Darien. Stepped one the absence of La Garb this season. And a popular

:07:29. > :07:32.man, Aries Merritt. Not quite to be in London. Fifth in the final for

:07:33. > :07:37.the former Olympic champion. The world record holder, who in 2012

:07:38. > :07:43.went below 13 seconds no fewer than ten times. A great title defence

:07:44. > :07:46.from this man, Sergey Shubenkov, running under a neutral flag in

:07:47. > :07:53.London. This is the flip side of the coin,

:07:54. > :07:58.for all the stories of near misses Balazs Baji got it right in London.

:07:59. > :08:09.Perhaps better athletes around him. He cut out the mistakes. Allen Devon

:08:10. > :08:16.missed out in London by 3,000ths of a second.

:08:17. > :08:20.For Andrew Pozzi this is, well, he's running against six of the London

:08:21. > :08:22.finalists here. This is the line he felt he should have been contesting

:08:23. > :08:36.against. It is here in Birmingham instead.

:08:37. > :08:39.One of the highest quality fields of the afternoon - the men's 110 metres

:08:40. > :08:50.hurdles. Well, that is Garfield Darien - I am

:08:51. > :08:55.sure it is Darien. There was a lot of twitching going

:08:56. > :09:00.on. But I think Darien was the man. Is there something about that lane,

:09:01. > :09:09.do you think? Yes, possibly. Possibly. Was he in that one, Adam

:09:10. > :09:14.Gemili? I don't know. Let's look to see if Garfield Darien... You said a

:09:15. > :09:19.little bit of twitching. Well, there was a couple inside him,

:09:20. > :09:25.Shane Brathwaite, actually no, well, we shall see. Why don't we stop

:09:26. > :09:30.speculating and see what the computer says.

:09:31. > :09:36.And nobody at the moment - are they still studying it? There's no real

:09:37. > :09:39.rush. Looking at the starters, they are thinking, what's going on. Just

:09:40. > :09:43.to the left-hand side of the runners. There is a big gathering

:09:44. > :09:54.there. Nobody is making any moves towards the start line as yet.

:09:55. > :10:01.Studying all the papers and notes. Lane five, Garfield Darien, is gone.

:10:02. > :10:07.That's a shame as well. Garfield Darien has been doing so well this

:10:08. > :10:11.season. But there are a couple of athletes gone. I think Shane

:10:12. > :10:20.Brathwaite. Shane Brathwaite has gone as well. Darien is taking all

:10:21. > :10:27.the camera work, but Shane Brathwaite has disappeared as well.

:10:28. > :10:35.In a more muted fashion. A Little Rock from David King at the top. A

:10:36. > :10:41.lot of rocking and rolling. Ready once again. I think Brathwaite

:10:42. > :10:47.might, well he was 0.8 as well. There he is.

:10:48. > :10:50.In false start corner. So King and Pozzi, Ortega, Merritt,

:10:51. > :11:06.Shubenkov, Baji and Allen Devon. This time away and Pozzi and King

:11:07. > :11:09.out quickly. Merritt now getting into his running.

:11:10. > :11:14.Shubenkov coming through now alongside Merritt.

:11:15. > :11:20.Pozzi beginning to... There is Merritt just about gets it from

:11:21. > :11:25.Sergey Shubenkov. It wasn't the cleanest or quickest race but a

:11:26. > :11:30.victory for Aries Merritt, still against a high-quality field.

:11:31. > :11:34.Merritt holding off Shubenkov. Andrew Pozzi unable to get close to

:11:35. > :11:38.them in the end either. A good win for Aries Merritt. A very, very

:11:39. > :11:42.popular figure from, that reduced field. Again a shame to lose

:11:43. > :11:47.Brathwaite and to lose Garfield Darien. I think it would have made

:11:48. > :11:52.it more competitive race, but Aries Merritt, the deserved victor. I

:11:53. > :11:57.spoke to Aries yesterday. He said to me, Colin, I am just tired. Looking

:11:58. > :12:01.at that race it was a tired victory by him. You know what, he's the

:12:02. > :12:05.worlds record-holder for a good reason - fast off the blocks, can

:12:06. > :12:09.get into that rhythm well. Once he gets into that really smooth, at

:12:10. > :12:13.times when he doesn't make any mistakes as well, that is when he

:12:14. > :12:17.will focus well. He takes control of this race early. Shubenkov will

:12:18. > :12:21.always make that charge. We expect him to do that but he clattered

:12:22. > :12:23.hurdles which is not like Shubenkov. I think that could have cost him a

:12:24. > :12:28.little bit. Just watching Shubenkov getting very

:12:29. > :12:34.close here. I was watching Andrew Pozzi as well. He's out of shot

:12:35. > :12:38.here. He clipped barrier number four. Aries Merritt - that has been

:12:39. > :12:43.a theme today for a lot of athletes. How can you be that tired. You do

:12:44. > :12:47.it, it is a cumulative thing and you target the World Championships and

:12:48. > :12:51.coming here a week later, it is very difficult. We may only think of the

:12:52. > :12:53.physical difficulty of it. It a east no t that tough for the athletes

:12:54. > :12:57.physically, because they are prepared very well. They are the

:12:58. > :13:01.best in the world for a good reason. Mentally it is difficult to lift

:13:02. > :13:05.yourself when you've had a very good championships, you've done your time

:13:06. > :13:08.celebrating and when you are frustrated with your performance

:13:09. > :13:16.sometimes you are still not lifted for another race. Time to tidy up

:13:17. > :13:20.the results. Untidy race and disqualifications as well. Merritt,

:13:21. > :13:23.the winner. Andrew Pozzi, down in sixth, ahead of David King and Pozzi

:13:24. > :13:38.is with Phil Jones. Thank you. Talking in comment tli

:13:39. > :13:42.there about -- talking to commentary there about how difficult it is -

:13:43. > :13:48.you have gone out and performed so well. I wouldn't call it well. A lot

:13:49. > :14:01.of us were very tired from the World Championships. It All about doing...

:14:02. > :14:05.Still to come out with a victory today? These gentlemen were all

:14:06. > :14:09.class. It is really good to get the win. Of course you want to run

:14:10. > :14:13.faster. Things happen - conditions are a thing. The weather isn't the

:14:14. > :14:18.best. But everyone has to run in it. And it's the UK. I love to come here

:14:19. > :14:23.and to run. I'm happy. We will let you warm down. We'll have a quick

:14:24. > :14:28.word with Andy. Obviously this is a good event for you to get some

:14:29. > :14:32.disappointment from the World Championships out of your system in

:14:33. > :14:37.That is the plan if you come out of the back of a major champs which

:14:38. > :14:41.didn't go so well. It is good to come back and remote vat yourself.

:14:42. > :14:45.We work all year for that one kind of chance at the major champs. It

:14:46. > :14:48.has been a tough couple of weeks. What does this hold for the rest of

:14:49. > :14:55.the season? I will have to wait and see. I have a few more meets lined

:14:56. > :14:59.up. We have to go back and see if it will be beneficial to do that or

:15:00. > :15:03.whether it is best to rest and get ready for next year. We appreciate

:15:04. > :15:08.you talking to us. Thank you. Thank you.

:15:09. > :15:16.The sprint stars take to the tracks in the women's 100 metres final.

:15:17. > :15:55.A stacked 200-metre contest. And it's Mo time for the final time

:15:56. > :16:03.on a British track as we say farewell to four time Olympic

:16:04. > :16:08.champion Mo Farah. That race is the last time we will see Mo Farah race

:16:09. > :16:12.on a British track. It is about 45 minutes away. You don't want to miss

:16:13. > :16:30.it. Thousands have come to say thank you for so many special days. He's

:16:31. > :16:35.got no room! Mo Farah! The greatest champions, one day it comes to an

:16:36. > :16:40.end. This chapter has closed. I want to say thank you to everyone who

:16:41. > :16:45.supported me. # Thank you for the days.

:16:46. > :16:57.# Those endless days, the sacred days you gave me.

:16:58. > :17:00.What a performance from Mo Farah! # I won't forget a single day,

:17:01. > :17:13.believe me. # Days I'll remember all my life.

:17:14. > :17:38.Beautiful! He's the double Olympic champion. My words cannot do justice

:17:39. > :17:44.to how I feel. # Thank you for those days, those

:17:45. > :17:58.endless days, the sacred days you gave me. This is world domination

:17:59. > :18:09.for Farah! He's sprinting for gold! He's running for greatness! Mo Farah

:18:10. > :18:27.is the world champion again. It's a fantastic 54 Farah. They

:18:28. > :18:46.succumbed to the inevitable, bow to his superiority. The double double!

:18:47. > :18:59.In front of his home crowd, in the city that he knows so well, the city

:19:00. > :19:12.he loves. He is a one man world superpower! It's gold four Farah!

:19:13. > :19:17.Incredible. Mo Farah is coming up in half an hour. Now it's the women's

:19:18. > :19:22.100m final. We are halfway through the line-up. Elaine Thompson in lane

:19:23. > :19:40.four. Levy is from Jamaica, not a familiar

:19:41. > :19:46.name. Five women in this field won a muddle of some sort in the relay,

:19:47. > :20:03.including Morolake Akinosun for the USA.

:20:04. > :20:12.The three we didn't see are four on the far side, Shaunae Miller-Uibo.

:20:13. > :20:30.And of course, Dina Asher-Smith. The 200m specialists are Elaine

:20:31. > :20:33.Thompson, and when I said five women had won a medal, you wouldn't think

:20:34. > :20:49.that one who didn't was Elaine Thompson.

:20:50. > :20:57.Dina Asher-Smith gets out very well. Schippers going with her. Look at

:20:58. > :21:02.the young Jamaican, but it's going to be Elaine Thompson. Thompson wins

:21:03. > :21:09.it from Ta Lou. Levy gets the third spot ahead of some big names. 10.93

:21:10. > :21:12.into a slight headwind. I keep saying this and we are probably

:21:13. > :21:18.going to repeat ourselves for the rest of the season. Elaine

:21:19. > :21:21.Thompson's one blip on a superb year was the final at the World

:21:22. > :21:25.Championships. She is probably going to keep winning. She will probably

:21:26. > :21:30.keep running under 11 seconds, and we will probably never look at that

:21:31. > :21:39.100m final again. Let's forget about that. It was a blip as you said,

:21:40. > :21:46.Steve. We had great expectations for the Diamond League in London. So we

:21:47. > :21:58.were thinking she could go under 10.7, but it didn't happen. Dina

:21:59. > :22:06.Asher-Smith ran a solid first 60m. Thompson is just beautiful to watch.

:22:07. > :22:10.She didn't respond to the gun, but it doesn't matter when you are as

:22:11. > :22:15.talented as she is. She has a great transition, good knee lift. Stays

:22:16. > :22:19.relaxed even though there is a lot of talent around her. She will be

:22:20. > :22:25.scratching her head all season, Steve, but I am sure she will return

:22:26. > :22:29.to the top soon. Well, she keeps winning these other races and she

:22:30. > :22:33.will have to put it behind her and move on. There are no major

:22:34. > :22:47.championships for them next year. Not a good run from Schippers. We

:22:48. > :22:56.will tidy up the results for you. Ta Lou was the only other one under 11.

:22:57. > :23:00.And Elaine Thompson is with Phil. Great to see you back in winning

:23:01. > :23:04.ways, Elaine. I wonder how it has been for you to rebound after the

:23:05. > :23:11.World Championships to deliver these performances? Well, first time

:23:12. > :23:18.competing in Birmingham on this track. I just picked myself up to

:23:19. > :23:26.focus. What has been in your mind post Championships? Honestly, I

:23:27. > :23:34.haven't got to think much. I just focus on the few races I have left.

:23:35. > :23:41.This is the real you, isn't it, winning? Sometimes I am all about

:23:42. > :23:48.winning and sometimes you have a bad day. My bad day was at the World

:23:49. > :23:54.Championships. What is next for you? Zurich. And have you got a busy end

:23:55. > :24:00.of season beyond that? I am taking it step-by-step. Just race these few

:24:01. > :24:04.races and then get some rest. You are a great Olympic champion. We

:24:05. > :24:09.look forward to seeing you more in this country.

:24:10. > :24:21.Great Britain's Tom Gale has jumped superbly well in this high jump. He

:24:22. > :24:31.is behind two world medallists. Too much for him today, but keep an eye

:24:32. > :24:37.on this young man. He is in very classy company. I know you have

:24:38. > :24:44.enjoyed his performance, Tony. He just sack a bit on those last three

:24:45. > :24:54.steps instead of running toll. Want to watch for the future, Tom Gale.

:24:55. > :25:06.Remember that name. The Syrian is popular. The bronze-medallist from

:25:07. > :25:14.the World Championships was really overwhelmed with that medal. Syrian

:25:15. > :25:25.bronze medal in the high jump. He is jumping with loads more confidence.

:25:26. > :25:39.Third attempt for Barshim. Classy jump. So two athletes have cleared

:25:40. > :26:07.2.31, and 2.33 is the next height. We ready ourselves for the men's

:26:08. > :26:14.200m. A very high calibre field here. Five of the finalists from

:26:15. > :26:23.London are here, including the champion. It has got a bit cooler

:26:24. > :26:26.here. You can feel a bit of dampness in the air. There will be heavy

:26:27. > :26:32.stuff this evening, but still mercifully dry. It was a

:26:33. > :26:40.disappointing games for the Frenchman. He is somewhat off his

:26:41. > :26:49.personal best. Isiah Young did make the final in London, but only ate

:26:50. > :27:05.there. Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake was just outside the medals, the anchor

:27:06. > :27:16.leg in the 4 x 100. The 200 was not outstandingly quick. Ameer Webb, the

:27:17. > :27:24.US champion, fifth at the World Championships. A very powerful

:27:25. > :27:31.runner. But there will be a warm welcome here for this man. One of

:27:32. > :27:34.the figures of the World Championships, with his lonely,

:27:35. > :27:40.defined one. Still has the quickest 200m title of the year in Madrid

:27:41. > :27:46.last month. Danny Talbot, a gold medallist in that relay quartet. And

:27:47. > :27:54.again on his home track, the Birchfield Harrier. Semifinalist in

:27:55. > :27:57.the 200 in London. Aaron Brown had a horrible time in the World

:27:58. > :28:09.Championships, disqualified from running fractionally out of his

:28:10. > :28:15.lane. It wasn't a 200m at the World Championships of the highest

:28:16. > :28:19.quality, but it was so competitive. We hope for no hangovers for the

:28:20. > :28:20.athletes here. Temperatures have dropped a bit. Don't expect

:28:21. > :28:51.blistering times. Guliyev finished strongly in the

:28:52. > :28:58.final in London and it is even at the moment. Makwala, the bots one,

:28:59. > :29:06.going strongly. Guliyev will try and hunt him down. Here comes Ramil

:29:07. > :29:11.Guliyev. Guliyev takes it. The Canadian ran well for third place,

:29:12. > :29:18.but Guliyev is the world champion. No hangover for him, no fatigue. The

:29:19. > :29:24.Turkish athlete takes the victory. At one point, Makwala looked as if

:29:25. > :29:27.he might be coming through to win, but Guliyev is the world champion

:29:28. > :29:39.and he wins it in a decent time in these conditions. I was looking at

:29:40. > :29:44.the wind, because that is always telling further 200m. They have do

:29:45. > :29:50.battle with it around the bend. But this was a solid one. He ran the

:29:51. > :29:58.same type of rice he ran when he won the world title itself. Nothing too

:29:59. > :30:04.electric around the bend. Perhaps many of these gentlemen are still

:30:05. > :30:12.very tired. Makwala get in front, but he didn't do the transition very

:30:13. > :30:23.well. That allowed Guliyev to ease himself through. That is what I love

:30:24. > :30:29.about the 200m. You think Guliyev is accelerating, but he is not. He is

:30:30. > :30:37.just decelerating less quickly than the rest as they go around the bend.

:30:38. > :30:41.Strength is his forte, and the ability to relax. If you tense your

:30:42. > :30:42.shoulders, that will restrict your movement. You want to keep a good

:30:43. > :31:01.range of movement. Mitchell-Blake and Talbot in fifth

:31:02. > :31:11.and sixth. What a time they must have had and

:31:12. > :31:16.to come back here today and celebrate it with a home crowd

:31:17. > :31:19.again. It is a shame I couldn't put on a better performance. But the

:31:20. > :31:23.crowd has been amazing. You have learnt that in the past, I

:31:24. > :31:25.know when you have been to championships and you have to pick

:31:26. > :31:30.yourself up again. It is different this time because you had that medal

:31:31. > :31:38.success happened a lot of our forry ya around it as well? It has been a

:31:39. > :31:41.strange week. We are not used to it. We have not been world champions

:31:42. > :31:45.before. Everyone has been so nice, so supportive. It is nice to come

:31:46. > :31:51.out here and see the British crowd again. It makes you hungry for more,

:31:52. > :32:02.I suppose? Definitely. It is a learning experience. I learn from it

:32:03. > :32:06.and get better in the future. I am interrupting here. We believe you

:32:07. > :32:10.are retiring and we want to say a massive thank you on behalf of all

:32:11. > :32:14.the athletes on the team. You are wonderful. We love to chat to you.

:32:15. > :32:20.And you are always so kind. We want to say a big thank you from all of

:32:21. > :32:30.Thank you one and all. A couple of words? I am not one for speeches. It

:32:31. > :32:33.means the world. Thank you. Thank you very much.

:32:34. > :32:40.It is not very often you see our Phil floored. It was a genuine

:32:41. > :32:45.surprise for Phil Jones. Denise is with me. I got goose bumps there.

:32:46. > :32:49.The reality hit there. We have known for a while it would be Phil's last

:32:50. > :32:55.meet with us. We will miss him. You can see the love and affection the

:32:56. > :33:02.athletes have for him. He knows what to say - whatever performance - they

:33:03. > :33:07.all gravitate to Phil. It is the first person they speak to. Win,

:33:08. > :33:12.lose - he's the one they pour their emotions out to. They celebrate with

:33:13. > :33:17.him. And, you know, he's just been a wonderful, wonderful reporter for

:33:18. > :33:21.us. And a real friend and, yeah, to a lot of people, the ath Lees

:33:22. > :33:25.included. So they -- athletes included. They will miss him. We

:33:26. > :33:35.will miss that voice. We wish him well. He's a great guy. Steve

:33:36. > :34:20.Backley. The champion, Rojas, way down the

:34:21. > :34:24.field, with 13.94. So, rallying some form, a week on, behind the lead of

:34:25. > :34:32.Williams. Maybe just a bit inspired more than the energies who spent

:34:33. > :34:38.their energy last week. It is 14. 14.44. That is exactly the

:34:39. > :34:48.same distance as Williams, but still in second place.

:34:49. > :34:57.Back on the track, on the far side, it is the women's 1500 metres. 17

:34:58. > :35:02.athletes, including the pacemaker, who will be Jennifer Meadows. Before

:35:03. > :35:05.these women go off, all of us in the commentary box would like to add our

:35:06. > :35:11.thanks and thoughts to Phil as well. We are getting to the last half an

:35:12. > :35:17.hour or so and even agreeing with all the words said about him. A nice

:35:18. > :35:22.gesture there. All of the international athletes who got to

:35:23. > :35:27.know Phil over the years. Including, I am sure Jenny Simpson. What a run

:35:28. > :35:36.from here at the World Championships.

:35:37. > :35:40.Laura Weightman, six, her best ever performance at a major global games,

:35:41. > :35:45.Commonwealth silver-medallist as well. Laura taking on a good field

:35:46. > :35:49.here. In terms of the Diamond League this is the woman who is leading it.

:35:50. > :35:54.A happy knack of sprinting to good positions and winning when the pace

:35:55. > :35:57.hasn't been so good. Cichocka of Poland, finished just

:35:58. > :36:01.behind Wightman at the World Championships.

:36:02. > :36:11.Arafi high up there in terms of points. That is what it is all about

:36:12. > :36:22.- Sarah McDonald. Quigley, disqualified in the Games. We saw

:36:23. > :36:26.the camera past Bahta. Five are guaranteed for the final. Eight

:36:27. > :36:27.women here could fill those seven places. So somebody is going to lose

:36:28. > :36:43.out. They all want to be in Brussels for

:36:44. > :36:48.the final. Including Jenny Simpson, she is the lowest ranks. Jenny needs

:36:49. > :36:52.to certainly come in the top two or three here to make sure she gets

:36:53. > :36:59.enough points. She's definitely capable of doing that. It is a big

:37:00. > :37:04.field. It is good they have a good pace-maker in Jennifer Meadows, who

:37:05. > :37:15.will take out the pace requested of her, about 2.8, 2.9. That is a good

:37:16. > :37:20.pace. It will string it out. It is only Tsegay who has gone with that.

:37:21. > :37:23.The rest are happy not to follow the quicker pace. A little bit quick

:37:24. > :37:29.through 300 metres. It is too much of a gap. It is OK the group holding

:37:30. > :37:32.off a little bit. This will be a pedestrian race for those behind

:37:33. > :37:38.Jennifer Meadows. A little swift there, really. The group paced

:37:39. > :37:44.around 64.5 seconds. Jenny has gone quick. Tsegay is capable of running

:37:45. > :37:48.a fast time. Others thinking, let's get this race

:37:49. > :37:55.moving and finally a bit of pace for the group there. They start to try

:37:56. > :37:56.to close this gap down. Simpson sitting there, happily as is Laura

:37:57. > :38:21.Weightman. She has a 5 l 3. -- personal best.

:38:22. > :38:30.Now it is Bahta trying to make up a bit of ground. They are starting to

:38:31. > :38:34.make inroads, but not quickly. You saw the other Ethiopian. We didn't

:38:35. > :38:40.see her for the rest of the summer. They approach 800 metres. The lead

:38:41. > :38:45.is 2.9. The group are about 2.11. Jennifer Meadows moves to the side.

:38:46. > :38:52.Tsegay finding herself out there in front. She has a good 20-metre lead.

:38:53. > :38:56.For somebody of the calibre of Tsegay that is a lead she could

:38:57. > :39:04.hold. They still have a lot of ground to make up. Bahta is there.

:39:05. > :39:09.Wightman. Chebet getting clipped by Cichocka behind her. The problem is

:39:10. > :39:13.nobody wants to help Bahta out with that. Jenny Simpson is happy to

:39:14. > :39:19.hover on her shoulder. Laura Weightman, maybe she will come

:39:20. > :39:25.around. She's putting hers into a position to -- herself into a

:39:26. > :39:31.position to challenge. The Ethiopian has gone quick and

:39:32. > :39:38.hard. Bahta chases. Simpson stuck for pace at the moment. Tsegay still

:39:39. > :39:47.out there in front. They are coming fast. The team-mate is making up the

:39:48. > :40:06.pace here. Seyaum has closed the gap. Chebet working from the front.

:40:07. > :40:17.Seyaum, Tsegay being chased be I the rest. -- being chased by the rest.

:40:18. > :40:23.Chased home. Chebet trying to get there. Others are closing the home

:40:24. > :40:27.straight. It will be Seyaum who will come home for the win. An easy win

:40:28. > :40:41.in the end. Others are trying to get there, but they won't. 4. 01, the

:40:42. > :40:47.winning time. Slow for the pack. Seyaum sprung out of the pack.

:40:48. > :40:52.The others who didn't chase hard. And it will be interesting, because

:40:53. > :40:55.I am looking at the finishing places, Jenny Simpson might find

:40:56. > :41:01.herself run out of a place. We will have to see in terms of the Diamond

:41:02. > :41:04.League final. Apart from Seyaum, I don't think many others can hold

:41:05. > :41:10.their heads up too high there. I don't think they can. The likes of

:41:11. > :41:14.Arafi, who finished so fast and grabbed that spot on the line, the

:41:15. > :41:19.third spot on the line, she finished very fast. She left it late.

:41:20. > :41:23.Bahta was rewarded for having done as much work as she had with that

:41:24. > :41:28.chase pack. Cichocka had a bad race there. She was boxed for most of the

:41:29. > :41:39.race. She came out wide at the end. She didn't have the leg to get past

:41:40. > :41:41.Bahta. Arafi, Chebet were qualified. Maybe Jenny Simpson will make it

:41:42. > :42:03.through. Back to the high jump.

:42:04. > :42:11.2. 33, first attempt. 2. 31 is his best this afternoon.

:42:12. > :42:19.And that failure maybe opens the door to Barshim. Let's look at this.

:42:20. > :42:26.He's unlucky. He clipped that with his head. That is why he was

:42:27. > :42:32.scratching his head. Mis-timed his arch. Went into it too early. It

:42:33. > :42:35.gets different every time. So the higher the bar, the longer you have

:42:36. > :42:41.to wait. A big scream from the champion,

:42:42. > :42:45.Barshim. Well, he took three attempts to get

:42:46. > :42:52.over the previous height, he now has a first attempt at 2. 33

:42:53. > :43:01.centimetres. Oh, he's got it! Brilliant stuff from Barshim.

:43:02. > :43:14.Goes out in front at the new height and really takes it to the Syrian,

:43:15. > :43:21.gas gas. S -- Ghazal. Gets better and better. That is excellent.

:43:22. > :43:26.Not the leg he's jumping on, that drives it so well. And the space

:43:27. > :43:37.between him and the bar. Stays away from the bar and a great arch.

:43:38. > :43:43.So then, with two passes at 2. 2.39, a line of the other jumpers in

:43:44. > :43:57.support of a new height of 2. 40. He's got it! Barshim goes clear.

:43:58. > :44:05.2. 40. Look at that! From the other jumpers - the first 2. 40-metre jump

:44:06. > :44:11.in Britain since 2000. So 17 years. A stadium record.

:44:12. > :44:19.It is a meeting record and it is a world lead for Mutaz Essa Barshim of

:44:20. > :44:24.Qatar. He's taking the bar home. Mr Barshim takes the bar home. He likes

:44:25. > :44:27.that one. He's keeping that! Well, what a beautiful jump. He has looked

:44:28. > :44:32.sensational. So composed. So still of body when

:44:33. > :44:42.he runs hard at the kerb. Nothing moves. It will be interesting to see

:44:43. > :44:49.if we get a replay of this. Look at that - 2. 40. A world best of 2017.

:44:50. > :44:56.There's the man who did it. Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar. A classy

:44:57. > :45:03.jumper and a brilliant performance. He's failed at 2. 39 twice. Elected

:45:04. > :45:08.to put the bar up at 2. 40 and look at the space! That could have been

:45:09. > :45:14.2.42 or more. That is why people around the world think this is the

:45:15. > :45:17.man who can break the world record. Two centimetres more - big

:45:18. > :45:19.celebrations for him. He 's got a lot to say. He's now talking to

:45:20. > :45:27.Phil. Congratulations! What a performance

:45:28. > :45:32.you have delivered yet again here in Britain. We don't get tired of

:45:33. > :45:36.seeing it. What is it like to do? I am very happy to be here in

:45:37. > :45:41.Birmingham and the UK less than a week, jumping good. Take a personal

:45:42. > :45:46.record. 2. 40, really happy with this height. I wanted the meeting

:45:47. > :45:53.record. I knew I was in good shape. I need to feel some pushing, some

:45:54. > :45:57.pressure. The crowds helped me out. We are jumping well together. I felt

:45:58. > :46:02.good, so I went for it. You are keeping the bar - you will not let

:46:03. > :46:07.anybody else have it, will you? I am taking that bar home. I will keep it

:46:08. > :46:09.somewhere. Every time I look at it I'll remember that jump. Well done.

:46:10. > :46:21.Thank you very much. Thank you. Our stunning performance by Barshim,

:46:22. > :46:26.and of course looking forward to the World Championships in Qatar and a

:46:27. > :46:30.couple of years' time. We are ready for the penultimate race of the

:46:31. > :46:35.afternoon, the women's 400m. And another strong line-up in this one.

:46:36. > :46:51.The gold, silver and bronze-medallists are all here.

:46:52. > :46:55.Noviene Williams-Mills is 35 now and made her sixth successive world

:46:56. > :47:17.final in London. Allyson Felix, only bronze in the

:47:18. > :47:20.400 in London, we say only! But there were another two golds for her

:47:21. > :47:27.collection in the 4 x 100 4 x 400 relay. But this woman became the

:47:28. > :47:31.champion, Phyllis Francis. She did it in the cool and wet conditions

:47:32. > :47:35.with a personal best in the final. She is from Oregon, which is damp

:47:36. > :47:45.and chilly, so she likes the conditions.

:47:46. > :47:53.Chrisann Gordon, the third Jamaican in this line-up, studying in Texas.

:47:54. > :47:55.Ran a good first leg for Jamaica in the relay but then MacLachlan pulled

:47:56. > :48:12.up in the second leg. Phyllis Francis took advantage as

:48:13. > :48:39.Shaunae Miller-Uibo faltered. Bahrain has a tendency now to import

:48:40. > :48:44.a few athletes, like some Middle Eastern countries. But Sarwar even

:48:45. > :48:50.Nacewa has a Bahraini and father and a Nigerian mother. Francis picked up

:48:51. > :48:57.the right time in the final in dismal conditions. I am sure it will

:48:58. > :49:07.not be long before Salwa Eid Naser does likewise. An announcement of a

:49:08. > :49:11.technical hiccup. So we are just going to have a little wait for the

:49:12. > :49:18.women's 400m while that is wheeled out. Keeping warm in these

:49:19. > :49:30.conditions. The temperature has dropped a bit.

:49:31. > :49:36.So they are willing in the new box. Again, my technical knowledge is

:49:37. > :49:44.being stretched to its limits here, but a new box of equipment is being

:49:45. > :49:50.brought in. Cables are being changed. It is a bit frustrating for

:49:51. > :49:59.the athletes here, staying warm. We will wait a few moments before we

:50:00. > :50:06.get the women's 400m under way. Whilst they fix the timing system,

:50:07. > :50:14.the triple jump is in its final stages. We saw Catherine a bargain

:50:15. > :50:23.in the previous round. But she needs to go beyond 14.44 to snatch victory

:50:24. > :50:29.here. It is a big effort. It's going to be close. Looks as though it may

:50:30. > :50:40.be over the line. It gets the white flag. Ibarguen has been dominant in

:50:41. > :50:49.the past and may have lost another victory here, right in the final

:50:50. > :51:10.stages. Look at this, Tony. That was a good hop. But the second phase is

:51:11. > :51:14.what made the difference. It is 14.51, which does mean victory for

:51:15. > :51:23.Ibarguen. Men's shot put, final field event. This is the Olympic

:51:24. > :51:36.champion. It is over 21 metres. We are in the fifth round. That is 21

:51:37. > :51:50.metres plus for the big American, Ryan Crouser. Waiting for his

:51:51. > :51:55.measurement. Smiles all around. This lot are entertaining the crowd at

:51:56. > :52:00.the moment, but we have a thumbs up from the man who has pressed control

:52:01. > :52:23.of the league and the women's 400m is good to go.

:52:24. > :52:30.And the way they go, Allyson Felix with that long, fluid style, already

:52:31. > :52:40.making up ground and pulling away from Phyllis Francis. Naser inside

:52:41. > :52:46.Francis. Closing in, Zoey Clark inside lane one, trying to keep pace

:52:47. > :52:53.with Gordon on the inside. But Naser has gone off so quickly. Already

:52:54. > :53:00.passing Phyllis Francis. Does Francis have anything left? Courtney

:53:01. > :53:07.Okolo leads them into the home straight, but Naser has great power

:53:08. > :53:15.as well. Okolo still going strongly, but it is Naser holding off Allyson

:53:16. > :53:22.Felix, who can't quite grow their -- get there on the line. It is not as

:53:23. > :53:25.quick as she won in London, but it's another very impressive scalp for

:53:26. > :53:28.Salwa Eid Naser, this 19-year-old from Bahrain will only go from

:53:29. > :53:33.strength to strength. Silver-medallist at the World

:53:34. > :53:39.Championships, and she beat the gold medallist. She is going places,

:53:40. > :53:45.Salwa Eid Naser. Very impressive. Holding off Allyson Felix and

:53:46. > :53:48.Courtney Okolo on the outside. You are going to see a whole lot more

:53:49. > :53:55.Salwa Eid Naser over the coming years. Really impressive run by the

:53:56. > :54:00.19-year-old. She knows the pedigree of Allyson Felix. So in her mind,

:54:01. > :54:05.she's thinking, if I can take her down, go past her and hold my form,

:54:06. > :54:17.everybody she knows is bit jaded. And look how she managed to do that.

:54:18. > :54:23.The 19-year-old just does enough. Takes it by a jiffy. That is a

:54:24. > :54:35.technical term, otherwise known as four hundredths of a second. She is

:54:36. > :54:40.19, but very powerful already. Yeah, she can go out hard, but keeps her

:54:41. > :54:50.form when it matters at the back end of the race. Huge potential. The

:54:51. > :55:03.rain has started to come down, but Naser wins the women's 400m.

:55:04. > :55:08.And the crowd are getting excited here, because on the far side from

:55:09. > :55:12.where we are, Mo Farah has come out with the rest of the 3000m field,

:55:13. > :55:17.the last event on the track today. And they know they are going to see

:55:18. > :55:25.the great Mo Farah for the final time in a British track event.

:55:26. > :55:28.Double double Olympic champion, six world golds, two world silvers and a

:55:29. > :55:33.haul of medals, the likes of which we will have to wait a long time to

:55:34. > :55:39.see again. We have been blessed to have Mo Farah competing in our

:55:40. > :55:44.lifetimes, Denise Lewis. We are. We have been talking about this for

:55:45. > :55:48.weeks, months. I can't believe today it is actually happening. It feels

:55:49. > :55:52.like I have been watching Mo since he was a youngster, the talent

:55:53. > :55:58.everyone was talking about. You just wondered what his destiny would hold

:55:59. > :56:02.in athletics. He has been the most decorated athlete we have ever seen.

:56:03. > :56:09.He has pulled the crowds. We are going to miss him. British athletics

:56:10. > :56:13.will miss him in terms of the medals he has provided in the last three or

:56:14. > :56:17.four major championships. And the crowds will miss him because he

:56:18. > :56:22.always gives such exciting races. We have come to expect him to win the

:56:23. > :56:27.way he does. He has hopefully inspired the generation behind him.

:56:28. > :56:30.How many young athletes have we heard talking about how they want to

:56:31. > :56:37.emulate his achievements? That is a great legacy. Not just in what he

:56:38. > :56:40.does on the track, but everything he does fit, his lifestyle, his

:56:41. > :56:46.attention to detail, looking for that extra second. It is a way of

:56:47. > :56:49.life and if young athletes want to learn anything, it is about how to

:56:50. > :56:56.become a champion, and that is through sheer commitment. So, for

:56:57. > :57:05.the final time on the track, over to you, Steve Cram and Paula Radcliffe

:57:06. > :57:09.for Mo Farah's last race. Yes, a day which has finally come, Mo's last

:57:10. > :57:13.race in Britain. His last race will be in Zurich in the Diamond League

:57:14. > :57:18.final, bar but this is his last race in Britain and a chance for the fans

:57:19. > :57:22.to say thank you. He already had a great reception when he came into

:57:23. > :57:24.the stadium earlier in a very nice car. Let's listen to his reception

:57:25. > :57:39.now. He has been to Birmingham so many

:57:40. > :57:50.times and tracks around the UK. That is upside down! It is a tribute to

:57:51. > :57:55.the people killed in Barcelona. He has written on his arm. I can read

:57:56. > :58:03.it now. That was the Spanish athlete. He is understandably paying

:58:04. > :58:09.tribute to those who were part of that tragedy in Barcelona earlier in

:58:10. > :58:14.the week. For Mo, it is not a great field against him, and why should it

:58:15. > :58:19.be in your last race? You should be allowed to go out in style with a

:58:20. > :58:23.win. There is nothing at stake here other than a chance to reflect on

:58:24. > :58:37.some memories and a chance for the crowd to show their support. And you

:58:38. > :58:45.can hear it now. It is a 3000m race, seven and a half laps of the track,

:58:46. > :58:54.and a race in which Mo is the British record-holder. It took him a

:58:55. > :59:01.while to get that. It used to be held by Dave Moorcroft and like many

:59:02. > :59:07.other records, the 1500, the 10,000, the half marathon, all now belong to

:59:08. > :59:15.Mo Farah, the best British athlete of those distances ever. And in

:59:16. > :59:21.terms of medals, I am not sure he will ever be surpassed. If anyone

:59:22. > :59:26.does, it would be a heck of an achievement. The time being, it is

:59:27. > :59:31.just a chance to reflect on what has been the incredible career, not

:59:32. > :59:35.really of two halves. People ask where Mo Farah was before, and it is

:59:36. > :59:39.worth reminding people of how good an athlete he was as a youngster,

:59:40. > :59:43.winning the mini marathon in London and winning plenty of cross-country

:59:44. > :59:48.races. He was a fixture from a very early part of his career. He was

:59:49. > :59:52.never a case of doubting his talent, it was whether he could harness it

:59:53. > :59:57.properly. Plenty of people had a part to play in that. Alan Storey in

:59:58. > :00:01.the early days, his schoolteacher. Then as he got better and went to

:00:02. > :00:08.the World Championship and Olympic Games, others had a role. Ian

:00:09. > :00:12.Stewart for a while, then Barry Fudge. Then he went to America to

:00:13. > :00:17.work with Alberto Salazar. That was the point at which his career took

:00:18. > :00:22.off, turning him into a winner, Paula. That is the thing we will

:00:23. > :00:23.remember about Mo Farah. He hasn't broken world records, but he has

:00:24. > :00:38.become a winner. He probably got a lot of help from

:00:39. > :00:42.Alberto and him teaching him to keep his body strong and ease down enough

:00:43. > :00:47.before races. That is a big factor in why he didn't perform,

:00:48. > :00:52.particularly in Beijing, 2008. He trained very well going into that.

:00:53. > :00:56.That's Something he'll have to learn for the marathon, when he moves up.

:00:57. > :01:00.We talk about it being his last race and he'll be emotional out there and

:01:01. > :01:03.he'll want to enjoy it and get some energy from the crowd and remember

:01:04. > :01:07.times on the track. It will not be his last time on a track. He'll

:01:08. > :01:11.train a lot on the track and he'll move to a new challenge in the

:01:12. > :01:18.marathon and have to learn that almost again. Yes, so it will not be

:01:19. > :01:22.the last time you see him racing in Britain. He'll be on the roads in

:01:23. > :01:29.future. It is not as though he'll have to not pounding out reps around

:01:30. > :01:36.the track if he's going to have a good marathon career and 10 K on the

:01:37. > :01:42.road - whatever he chooses to do. A decent pace set by Kibet and Birgen.

:01:43. > :01:47.Birgen, who has run, both of them have raced Mo many times and

:01:48. > :01:54.repaying the favour. Two very good athletes setting a pace. Asked for

:01:55. > :02:05.2.32. 2.33 they went through in. The field is strung out. In front of Mo

:02:06. > :02:10.Farah is Mechaal. He ran well in the Anniversary Games. Behind them is

:02:11. > :02:15.Andrew Butchart, who is learning so much from having the opportunity to

:02:16. > :02:18.train alongside Mo Farah, to spend time in training camps alongside

:02:19. > :02:25.him. He's got a future ahead of him on the track. He's wanting to learn

:02:26. > :02:29.as much as he can from Mo before Mo waves goodbye to the track. It might

:02:30. > :02:40.not have been emphasised enough and you and I have witnessed it

:02:41. > :02:46.first-hand in Kenya, in Ethiopia, in Flag staff, the way Mo operates.

:02:47. > :02:52.Remember when he first moved to the Kenyan house in Teddington and he

:02:53. > :02:55.got a whoa these guys train a different way, saw how they slept

:02:56. > :03:06.and approached their training and Mo's been the same for a lot of our

:03:07. > :03:15.endurance athletes. Paid every attention to detail tail, and the

:03:16. > :03:19.altitude training for the endurance programme. These guys get to see up

:03:20. > :03:25.close and personal that Mo Farah is not an alien. He goes out, trains

:03:26. > :03:28.hard, backs it up with all the preparation around that and they see

:03:29. > :03:33.what they need to learn from that. Andrew Butchart, a case in point,

:03:34. > :03:37.probably learnt from that final in London in the World Championships.

:03:38. > :03:42.He didn't really run his own race. He wants to race. Come out with a

:03:43. > :03:47.personal best. He's run 7. 37 this year. It is a big ask for him. So a

:03:48. > :04:03.good pace being set. Andrew Butchart seems to be up for it today. Mo, as

:04:04. > :04:09.as we said, I am being reminded by our statistician who has given us

:04:10. > :04:14.the stats, he's said Mo's never broken the British record for the

:04:15. > :04:21.mile, mainly because he's hardly ever run it. Butchart is out in

:04:22. > :04:25.front, with Mo Farah and Mechaal, good 1500-metre runner. The young

:04:26. > :04:33.Kenyan there, Kiplangat, as well. These four well clear of the rest,

:04:34. > :04:36.with two laps to go. Two laps to go. Through the rain that Andrew

:04:37. > :04:44.Butchart, being Scottish, is probably used to. Mo behind him,

:04:45. > :04:48.letting him do the work for the time being and waiting. He'll be aware

:04:49. > :04:52.that Mechaal is sitting behind him too. Tiernan is trying to get back

:04:53. > :05:00.to them. I am not sure he'll be able to. He led for a while at the World

:05:01. > :05:04.Championships. Butchart, Farah, Kiplangat, Mechaal,

:05:05. > :05:09.600 metres to go. This is where Mo Farah over these last years has

:05:10. > :05:12.completely dominated events. Only in London, in that very last chance to

:05:13. > :05:18.win another gold medal did he falter. But so many times he's taken

:05:19. > :05:22.the race on from this point and he's pulled fields apart. He's often had

:05:23. > :05:26.to wait until the home straight, until the last few metres to be sure

:05:27. > :05:30.of the win. He might have to do that today. He'll have to dig in a little

:05:31. > :05:37.bit. With 400 metres to go, he's still got company. Mechaal might be

:05:38. > :05:43.the danger here. I am not sure he'll have the speed to take on Farah.

:05:44. > :05:48.Mechaal is working very hard. He's got enough to get past Kiplangat.

:05:49. > :05:54.Has he got enough to challenge Mo Farah on his final lap of honour

:05:55. > :05:57.within this race? The crowd rise down the back straight to cheer on

:05:58. > :06:01.Mo Farah through the last 200 metres. Surely he's going to reward

:06:02. > :06:07.them with a victory on home soil. Mechaal though is going to make sure

:06:08. > :06:10.it is a good, hard, honest race over the last 200 metres. Mo Farah enters

:06:11. > :06:15.the home straight. Takes one look behind. He checks there's no change.

:06:16. > :06:19.He changes through the gears. This is the sight that everyone has come

:06:20. > :06:27.to see. Everybody is on their feet here. The final sprint, the final

:06:28. > :06:38.chapter, the final win for Mo Farah in Britain.

:06:39. > :06:43.The winning time 7. 38.65. No gold medals today, just the

:06:44. > :06:49.satisfaction of a man and an athlete who knows that he has given so much

:06:50. > :06:55.joy to so many people for such a long time. We have been saying a few

:06:56. > :06:59.goodbyes this season. This is yet another one, which is hard to make

:07:00. > :07:05.and hard to accept in terms of what he's going to do on the track.

:07:06. > :07:10.That's it. And Farah, all of those brilliant

:07:11. > :07:16.races and the gold medals he won were all hard fought and hard won.

:07:17. > :07:20.And that's what I think endured him to the British -- endeared him to

:07:21. > :07:28.the British public. It was never as easy as it has been for some. It was

:07:29. > :07:32.always a graft and I think, I said at the World Championships that

:07:33. > :07:36.competitive spirit of his always shone through. There he is, draped

:07:37. > :07:41.in the British flag, as ever. I will hand down there in a second. It is

:07:42. > :07:48.two goodbyes. One to Phil and one to Mo. They have both been brilliant.

:07:49. > :07:51.For the final time Phil Jones interviewing Mo Farah.

:07:52. > :08:00.Thank you for your kind words. What a sendoff you have received here

:08:01. > :08:04.today. How has it been for you? Last week I was a bit tired. A little bit

:08:05. > :08:09.of down time with the family to relax. It's been amazing. It's been

:08:10. > :08:14.amazing. This is it. What are the emotions coming in today? High, not

:08:15. > :08:20.as high as London. One last time at home. Great support from the home

:08:21. > :08:26.crowd. Really enjoyed it. You wanted to win - give them a winning send

:08:27. > :08:30.off. As you are going around are you taking in this is the last time we

:08:31. > :08:36.see you on the track in this country? Not at all. Trying to get

:08:37. > :08:40.it right obviously a strong athlete. The Spanish guy who finished fourth

:08:41. > :08:43.at the Worlds. What about these people - all these people who have

:08:44. > :08:48.cheered you and supported you? It is amazing. This is what it's about.

:08:49. > :08:52.This is what we dream of. It is amazing to have the home crowd and

:08:53. > :08:56.amazing people throughout my career. I just want to thank everyone who

:08:57. > :09:03.supported me and followed my long journey. We will see you in Zurich,

:09:04. > :09:09.then it is marathon running. But give us a word, try and sum up for

:09:10. > :09:15.me, even if you can what being on a track in Britain means to you? It

:09:16. > :09:21.means everything to me. I never dreamt to become four times Olympic

:09:22. > :09:27.champion, multitimes champion. All I would dream of as a youngster is to

:09:28. > :09:31.run for Great Britain. You compete in the world juniors, you go through

:09:32. > :09:36.the rank and you dream of becoming Olympic champion. You do it and to

:09:37. > :09:40.have an amazing career, and I just want to continue and see what I can

:09:41. > :09:50.do on the road with that. You have a target. Under pressure and really

:09:51. > :09:52.enjoy it. Of course I will... As an athlete you become, a hobby,

:09:53. > :09:57.something you enjoy, it becomes a job. I love what I do. It is part of

:09:58. > :10:01.it. Sometimes it can get a little bit hard when you have so much

:10:02. > :10:06.pressure, you cannot go anywhere. Now it will be a completely new

:10:07. > :10:11.game. I am excited. So you should be. You have lived the dream on the

:10:12. > :10:21.track. We hope you continue to do soen. Thank you to everyone. Great

:10:22. > :10:25.support from insta game and twitter. -- instagram and Twitter. I

:10:26. > :10:31.appreciate it. The end of an era. That is for sure.

:10:32. > :10:35.His era will go on. A new era for Mo Farah on the roods. We will not see

:10:36. > :10:40.him -- on the roads. We will not see him again on the tracks in this

:10:41. > :10:45.country. After this season there'll be no more Mo time. It is a great

:10:46. > :10:49.sadness for us. We have loved this period of athletics, having him

:10:50. > :10:53.light up these meets and global meets, always delivering. So very

:10:54. > :10:59.rarely do we say Mo Farah was down to race, for some reason he pulled

:11:00. > :11:03.out. He was incredible at making his body in peak condition, at the right

:11:04. > :11:06.time. Mentally and physically ready. I think it is important to realise

:11:07. > :11:13.that it is He's happy. He's achieved more than

:11:14. > :11:18.most, more than so many athletes set out to. And so this is a new

:11:19. > :11:24.challenge for him. I think, yes, we bid farewell, say thank you. Let's

:11:25. > :11:28.look forward to the next chapter of his life, which will hopefully

:11:29. > :11:31.conjure up that newness for him. Sometimes it has felt like a job and

:11:32. > :11:37.he started off running because he loved it and it with us a hob yip

:11:38. > :11:43.and perhaps that's what -- a hobby and perhaps that's what he's hoping

:11:44. > :11:46.to get back. You then feel like you have the stress because you take

:11:47. > :11:51.response blingt for the role you've had. You didn't set out to be that

:11:52. > :11:56.particular way. For him it is a real fresh beginning. I am really pleased

:11:57. > :12:01.that he's enjoyed it. He said at the end, he'll go back, he'll enjoy

:12:02. > :12:04.running on the roads, being all, starting all again. So, for me it is

:12:05. > :12:07.just fantastic to see him finish with a smile and a victory, of

:12:08. > :12:13.course. Well, he's wandering off the track

:12:14. > :12:18.there. I am sure he'll be back to sign autographs and do selfies. The

:12:19. > :12:32.shot put was wrapping up as that race was going on.

:12:33. > :12:40.That is a big throw down the left sector.

:12:41. > :12:46.Tomas Walsh - a real surprise victory last week a head of the

:12:47. > :12:51.champion, Crouser. Let's look at this - good balance as he spins over

:12:52. > :12:59.that left side. Quick of feet. You cannot see it in that shot. Hip,

:13:00. > :13:06.followed by the shoulder and off the shot put goes. A slight improvement

:13:07. > :13:12.on the last round. That hands it to Crouser, who has the last say in

:13:13. > :13:18.this competition. Very last put of Crouser, the

:13:19. > :13:24.Olympic champion. Sixth in the World Championships amid a bit of

:13:25. > :13:28.controversy. Last effort of this shot put competition. High, but it

:13:29. > :13:33.will fall short of 21 metres. Once again hands the victory to Walsh.

:13:34. > :13:38.So, great performance from Tomas Walsh.

:13:39. > :13:42.To suggest to anyone who didn't believe, or suggested it was a

:13:43. > :13:48.surprise victory, once again for Tomas Walsh of New Zealand. 21. 83,

:13:49. > :13:54.ahead of Ryan Crouser. There's Tomas Walsh.

:13:55. > :13:59.Well, there is plenty more athletics for you to look forward to. Zurich

:14:00. > :14:03.highlights on Saturday. Mo Farah racing there. Brussels highlights on

:14:04. > :14:25.Saturday 2nd, 1. 1.15pm. What a day the Great North Run

:14:26. > :14:34.always is. Let's talk about the performance of the day. Denise, you

:14:35. > :14:39.have been Mullering over! In the men's 400 metres. Fantastic

:14:40. > :14:43.personal best. And his first Diamond League win. Brilliant. Anyone who is
