:00:25. > :00:31.celebrate what is best about mankind. There is a truth to sport,

:00:31. > :00:37.a purity, and drama, and intensity, a spirit that makes it irresistible

:00:37. > :00:42.to take part in an irresistible to watch. What we are seeing right now

:00:42. > :00:46.is that dreams do come true. mince stretched to the limit of

:00:46. > :00:56.their abilities. -- humans. Living for the moment but making an

:00:56. > :00:58.

:00:58. > :01:03.indelible mark upon history. champion becomes a legend.

:01:03. > :01:12.those of us who came to what witnessed moments of heroism and

:01:12. > :01:20.heartbreak. We know more now as individuals and as a nation just

:01:20. > :01:30.what we are capable of. And that knowledge will drive us on. We lit

:01:30. > :01:34.

:01:34. > :01:40.There are some famous words, words that when you read them, you know

:01:40. > :01:47.mean high quality, mean a skill, mean creativity. We have stamped

:01:47. > :01:57.those words on the Olympic and Paralympic Games of London 2012.

:01:57. > :02:06.

:02:06. > :02:10.There stirring words of Lord Sebastian Coe after the success of

:02:10. > :02:15.last summer's and a big and Paralympic Games. And here we are,

:02:15. > :02:18.a year on already in the Olympic Park, getting ready for the 11th

:02:18. > :02:22.Diamond League meeting of the season which also happens to be the

:02:22. > :02:25.Sainsbury's Anniversary Games. A chance to relive some of those

:02:25. > :02:30.fantastic moment on the liver -- Olympic Games, and a world-class

:02:30. > :02:32.line-up here on the track and field. These athletes are not just

:02:32. > :02:37.competing for Diamond league points, they have got World Championships

:02:37. > :02:41.in Moscow in two weeks' time. Usain Bolt will be running the really

:02:41. > :02:45.later, we have Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis-Hill competing. We have a

:02:45. > :02:55.star-studded line-up. Along the way we will meet some of those who make

:02:55. > :02:55.

:02:55. > :03:36.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 41 seconds

:03:36. > :03:40.us smile last summer and who invoke We have got some great names coming

:03:40. > :03:44.up for you, some top-class action. Paula Radcliffe and Colin Jackson

:03:44. > :03:48.are enjoying this weather. This was not supposed to be like this we had

:03:48. > :03:53.been warned of rain, but it turns out the summer love the Olympic

:03:53. > :03:57.stadium and cannot stay away! Looking at that opening ceremony,

:03:57. > :04:00.we had a great time last night, what was it like for the athletes

:04:01. > :04:06.coming back and competing here, especially in Loat -- those like

:04:06. > :04:10.Usain Bolt who took away gold medals? They adore any Olympic

:04:10. > :04:14.track or stadium, it brings history, that unique feeling back to you.

:04:14. > :04:19.And when the crowd arrive, they tried to recreate that excellent

:04:19. > :04:24.Olympic atmosphere. I think it was delivered last night. It really

:04:25. > :04:29.felt close, the cameras were going off for Usain Bolt. We had flames,

:04:29. > :04:34.fireworks, the whole fire -- the atmosphere he was magic last night.

:04:34. > :04:40.Did we created the feeling of watching good athletics and the

:04:40. > :04:45.pride that we had been written in the job that we had last year.

:04:45. > :04:49.Valerie Adams, the gold medallist, she is women's shot but, we will be

:04:49. > :04:53.across everything. Jessica Ennis- Hill, it was touch and go whether

:04:53. > :04:58.she was going to make it due to injury. She is here, she is doing

:04:58. > :05:01.the hurdles and the long jump. This is here earlier on on the warm-up

:05:01. > :05:06.track, 100 yards away from where we are now. She is looking quite

:05:06. > :05:13.comfortable. Yes, when you're doing drills like this, and warm up, you

:05:14. > :05:21.are still not quite knowing where you are at. I can make you look

:05:21. > :05:28.good and doing drills! strapping says it all. Yes, it does.

:05:28. > :05:35.That is just take, that is just not so via strapping. -- that is just

:05:35. > :05:42.paper. It is not severe strapping. It might be waking up muscles that

:05:42. > :05:47.have not been injured. For her today, is it about time or when she

:05:47. > :05:52.finishes? Howl she know where she is? For her, it is crucial that she

:05:52. > :05:59.runs relatively fast. Do not think about her winning the race, it is

:05:59. > :06:06.about the time, told 0.85 is what she is looking for to give her the

:06:06. > :06:16.best jobs in Moscow -- 12.85. how she recovers to do the long DUP.

:06:16. > :06:16.

:06:16. > :07:19.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 41 seconds

:07:19. > :07:23.If you missed last night, shame on It was a great evening. Some

:07:23. > :07:27.personal bests and season's bests, world-leading time, what did you

:07:27. > :07:32.make of Usain Bolt? It was an interesting performance. He did not

:07:32. > :07:35.have the best of starts, he said could sell. He needs to just race.

:07:35. > :07:39.People need to say -- people say, what does he need to do a Moscow?

:07:39. > :07:47.It is just about racing, the practice of getting out of the box

:07:47. > :07:55.and competitive. Getting out of the blocks has always been his thing,

:07:55. > :07:57.it is always is weak tests -- it is always his weakest part.

:07:57. > :08:04.training on his injured. He needs to go and practise his start, his

:08:05. > :08:09.major training partner -- Palmer is absent. He does not get the real

:08:09. > :08:15.impetus that he needs. He will run a 10th faster in the world

:08:15. > :08:18.championships and I think that'll be enough for the Gold. A chance

:08:18. > :08:23.for Perri Shakes-Drayton to Brit has other goods the better the

:08:23. > :08:27.world, how did she come through? She came through well, she said she

:08:28. > :08:36.did not attack the race and he lost form in the Lot 100 metres. She is

:08:36. > :08:39.tired, she will train and work. was a personal best. It was, the

:08:39. > :08:43.more stamina she develops and the more technique she gets, it will

:08:43. > :08:50.hold together. That was the difference between her and the

:08:50. > :08:52.winner. She came out of it really well. If that was the world

:08:52. > :09:00.championship final, she would take that. Yes, second place Gomersall

:09:00. > :09:05.the muddle -- second place, silver medal, who wouldn't? The winner is

:09:05. > :09:08.flawless and fluid over the barriers. What will be interesting

:09:08. > :09:11.for Perri Shakes-Drayton, overwinter, she will look at the

:09:11. > :09:16.season and think, I will run faster than these women on the flat so I

:09:16. > :09:20.need to hold my technique. Then I can be competitive and take them on.

:09:20. > :09:24.I am thinking, this is a good thing for her to have as an quickening.

:09:24. > :09:30.Let's not get this wrong, she has run a personal best, faster than

:09:30. > :09:34.she has won before, it is a good sign. The women's four by 400

:09:34. > :09:37.metres was a revelation, the fastest in four years, they have

:09:37. > :09:42.been training really hard, it is athlete to do not see it global

:09:42. > :09:46.events. Yes, that was good. It was a young squad. Colin knows more

:09:46. > :09:54.about this but it is the young squad who practised and got the

:09:54. > :09:58.changeovers slick and right. That has let us down and write. -- that

:09:58. > :10:07.has let us down the four. The men are going later on, sprinting is in

:10:07. > :10:12.good shape. Yes, but yesterday, we decided that this was the British

:10:12. > :10:15.performance of the evening. They haven't run this fast for 12 years.

:10:15. > :10:21.I think this team will gel together, work harder and they should be able

:10:21. > :10:31.to approach the British record. Would it be unfair of me to say...

:10:31. > :10:35.Yes! Jamaica, USA and arouse his going for the muddle. -- everyone

:10:35. > :10:44.else is going for the medal. cannot give the gold medal to

:10:44. > :10:48.anybody in the relay, it depends on so many things. Jamaica and the the

:10:48. > :10:53.US the are still -- the USA are still dominating. Warrener are

:10:53. > :11:03.looked so comfortable yesterday. He is the baby-faced assassin. --

:11:03. > :11:07.Warren Weir. He is on a great run, he is a great runner, he was behind

:11:07. > :11:11.Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake. He is very effortless. He knows this

:11:11. > :11:15.event very well indeed. He has learnt from the experts around him,

:11:15. > :11:18.and he has executed his race phenomenally well for someone who

:11:18. > :11:24.is not used to the studied environment. It is really good to

:11:24. > :11:29.see this. All this top-class athletes look like they were

:11:29. > :11:36.enjoying the arena, and who would not? The Diamond League has many

:11:36. > :11:40.different stadiums, I do not think many of them are quite like this

:11:40. > :11:50.one. Bogged down by it -- bogged down by raincoat wanted to do

:11:50. > :11:56.something special, -- Bohdan Bondarenko. He wanted to double

:11:56. > :12:01.world record. He did not come super players but to give it a good

:12:01. > :12:08.attempt. -- he did not come so close but he gave it a good

:12:08. > :12:12.attempts. He does not enjoy the cloud clapping, he tells the crowd

:12:12. > :12:18.to be quite so he can concentrate. When I watched him do the final

:12:18. > :12:28.attempt at the world record, he did not wait for the focus, he brushed

:12:28. > :12:28.

:12:28. > :12:38.of the jumps so he could get on with it. He only clip to 40. --

:12:38. > :12:38.

:12:38. > :12:47.cleared 2.40. It is all about testing and stretching yourself.

:12:47. > :12:54.Suddenly you get me yet to a world There is a parade going on at the

:12:55. > :13:00.moment around the arena. There is a great crowd here, they are pulling

:13:00. > :13:07.out their G B T shirts, they are seeing here is that they saw last

:13:07. > :13:13.summer. It is hoped that the Times last year would invoke a legacy and

:13:13. > :13:19.we would keep a belief in sport, and so far so good. Absolutely. I

:13:19. > :13:27.think a big part of the legacy was this track and this stadium, it was

:13:27. > :13:32.keen that we kept an athletics track here, so we had a hope of --

:13:32. > :13:40.we had a home that we could stay in. Jessica Judd, she was disappointed

:13:40. > :13:46.not to be here, but she is foreign of the memories of -- she is living

:13:46. > :13:53.off the memories of the Olympics. We want to hear of her in the next

:13:53. > :13:57.Olympics, telling us that this was her inspiration. We are set for

:13:57. > :14:02.another travellers afternoon here. If we think back to a year ago,

:14:02. > :14:12.there are a couple of days that we will never forget. For Mo Farah and

:14:12. > :14:22.

:14:22. > :14:32.Jessica Ennis-Hill, it is super So much expectation on the slender

:14:32. > :14:50.

:14:50. > :15:00.In the 800 it was that really know you have got so far you are

:15:00. > :15:02.

:15:02. > :15:05.practically bare you can almost touch it. Here goes a Jessica. She

:15:05. > :15:10.is going to be the Olympic champion. is going to be the Olympic champion.

:15:10. > :15:20.Everybody is on their feet. The pride of Sheffield and the pride of

:15:20. > :15:45.

:15:45. > :15:52.Great Britain. Oh, I have done it, Can he fee of this atmosphere?

:15:52. > :16:02.Quick! It is big! Can you believe what is happening in this stadium

:16:02. > :16:06.

:16:06. > :16:12.at the moment? 8.31 metres. That is try to forget about it and just be

:16:12. > :16:22.yourself and think about how hard you at work. The 10,000 final is

:16:22. > :16:32.under way. There is only one Afellay now that can deny Greg

:16:32. > :16:42.Rutherford from Olympic gold. That is a foul. Greg Rutherford is the

:16:42. > :16:44.

:16:44. > :16:54.Olympic champion. I do not think he can quite believe it.

:16:54. > :17:02.

:17:02. > :17:08.are lifting him. They are cheering him on. He is into their home

:17:08. > :17:14.straight with just 100 metres to go. Has he got enough? He is going

:17:14. > :17:24.great. It is going to be a glorious, glorious winner. Mo Farah for Great

:17:24. > :17:30.

:17:30. > :17:36.Britain, it is cold! -- gold. that really happen? You ask

:17:36. > :17:46.yourself. Of course it happened. Three gold medals for Great Britain.

:17:46. > :17:55.

:17:55. > :18:02.Well, here he is, Mo Farah is coming out onto the track to the

:18:02. > :18:06.kind of adulation and respect that he has so rightly earned. They just

:18:06. > :18:11.adore him, don't they. They are delighted to see one of their great

:18:12. > :18:15.heroes return, as Siam, because Brendan Foster and Steve Cram are

:18:15. > :18:20.in the studio. You know it is a big day when Brendan Foster comes out

:18:20. > :18:24.to play. Do we fully realise what a great athlete we have in our midst

:18:24. > :18:28.in Mo Farah and how important he will be historically.

:18:28. > :18:34.When he walks out there and he knows how well a years running, he

:18:35. > :18:38.sees the crowd and this year he is even better than he was last year.

:18:38. > :18:41.To feel like he feels intrinsically from his training and to walk out

:18:41. > :18:45.here and see the crowd and know he will be back in a few hours and

:18:45. > :18:48.give everyone something to shout about, it is such a glorious time

:18:48. > :18:54.for him and for everybody. This is the greatest track meet we have

:18:54. > :19:01.ever seen in Great Britain. Two days and more people than ever

:19:01. > :19:05.before. This is a fantastic show here. These are great times for

:19:05. > :19:11.athletics, thanks to the Olympics and what UK Athletics have done it

:19:11. > :19:15.is wonderful. And to have no here, I am really excited. Everybody is

:19:15. > :19:25.doing the mobot behind you. I will not force you to do it but they are

:19:25. > :19:29.lapping it up. We saw him last week take Steve's 1,500 metre record.

:19:29. > :19:34.Could he take David Moorcroft's record to date?

:19:34. > :19:39.If he wants to. Absolutely no question. You cannot have his

:19:39. > :19:44.endurance and not be able to win. The conditions are pretty good. It

:19:44. > :19:49.is really whether he wants to do it or not. He has been in St Moritz

:19:49. > :19:53.since Monaco and he is preparing for the World Championships and we

:19:53. > :19:57.have to remind ourselves of that. As great as it was in Monaco, his

:19:57. > :20:01.quest is to win two gold medals so he is choosing his races carefully

:20:01. > :20:06.to do that. If he wants to run that hard today he can do that he can

:20:06. > :20:09.win the race as he wishes. I would like to see him run a little bit

:20:09. > :20:13.harder than we sometimes see him in these events because this crowd

:20:13. > :20:20.have come here to see him do that. His light changed here last year

:20:20. > :20:26.and he has on -- been on the quest to winner's medals for a while but

:20:26. > :20:32.his life changed here and these people want to see him run hard.

:20:32. > :20:36.Everybody knows he spends a lot of his time training in Oregon and his

:20:36. > :20:41.coach is American and when he comes back antique is on the shores he is

:20:41. > :20:45.so proud to wear his British best. Yes, a lot of his roots are here.

:20:45. > :20:49.He will be watching the football all the time he is away and staying

:20:49. > :20:53.in touch and he is British and so being in the stadium will bring

:20:53. > :20:58.back so many memories from last year. He is in a purple patch now

:20:58. > :21:04.where I don't think he realises how easy it is and sometimes his

:21:04. > :21:13.surprises you how easily it is coming. His main focus is Moscow so

:21:13. > :21:19.he may decide to run a bit more tactically to date. You never know.

:21:19. > :21:24.Let us talk a bit more. You have done your bit with your races

:21:24. > :21:27.around the country and when you are out and about in the last year what

:21:27. > :21:35.have you seem to know that it is 9 million well spent and people are

:21:35. > :21:39.still participating and enjoying You see more people and you see

:21:39. > :21:43.more events. The interesting thing for me of that in the early years -

:21:43. > :21:48.- years there were only a very small percentage of women who took

:21:48. > :21:53.part in running events but almost 50% of women now which goes a

:21:53. > :21:57.little bit unsung but it has been a major change. The thing about it is

:21:57. > :22:01.that it is easy to do. You don't have to join anything to do it and

:22:01. > :22:06.at the end of the day running is what everybody does quite easily.

:22:06. > :22:10.This inspiration is not to be frowned at. Watching people do what

:22:10. > :22:14.we have seen in the last few months and the last few years in Britain

:22:14. > :22:20.has just been fantastic and I think he's a great times. The interesting

:22:20. > :22:25.thing for me is that the government has finally realised that the sport

:22:25. > :22:28.and the participation in sport can be a force for good. Partition --

:22:28. > :22:34.participation in sport can be a force for fitness and health and

:22:34. > :22:38.instead of using sport as a political weapon and in our day we

:22:38. > :22:41.were trying to withdraw from the 1980 Olympics and now governments

:22:41. > :22:45.have realised that sport is important so let us forget about

:22:45. > :22:51.Boycott's and stop using it as a foreign policy and just use it as a

:22:51. > :22:53.benefit for the people in the nation. That has been a fantastic

:22:53. > :23:00.transformation. To answer that I think you have got

:23:00. > :23:08.to take the positive vibe and turn that inspiration into something a

:23:08. > :23:12.bit more solid, in the sense that we have got to support sport. We

:23:12. > :23:15.must continue to support sport because there are young people will

:23:15. > :23:19.want to take part and we need coaches and we need facilities and

:23:19. > :23:24.we need the volunteer factors supported. We have got a great

:23:24. > :23:28.opportunity to build on London. We have got a world championships here

:23:28. > :23:32.in four years. Is it too top-heavy?

:23:32. > :23:36.It is not that it is top heavy but it was targeted at winning medals

:23:36. > :23:42.and bringing major events to the UK and we have now got them and what

:23:42. > :23:46.we now have to do is underpin it with more funding for sport. We are

:23:46. > :23:51.all going to sit here and say that and the government will say it

:23:51. > :23:54.differently because there are other challenges and money is tough for

:23:54. > :23:57.local authorities and central government and we have got to show

:23:57. > :24:01.and I think we have done here, a year on from the Games, that people

:24:01. > :24:06.care about this. They want to see us continue to be good at sports so

:24:06. > :24:12.we have to support those who are helping our youngsters and show

:24:12. > :24:18.them where they can do it and how to become Mo Farah.

:24:18. > :24:22.The glow of positivity is still very much on a year on and 11% of

:24:22. > :24:27.people have increased their participation in short but where

:24:27. > :24:32.will we be in 10 years' time? -- participation in sport.

:24:32. > :24:34.We have had the 12 months of our sport and if you look at the

:24:34. > :24:39.response of the British public, they have always liked running and

:24:39. > :24:43.they have always liked athletics and has been around for a long time.

:24:43. > :24:49.We were brought up in the days of tales about White City and Roger

:24:49. > :24:53.Bannister and over the years all of us here were inspired by previous

:24:53. > :24:56.generations and Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis-Hill are going to be

:24:56. > :25:00.inspiring other generations. Now there is a movement behind it and

:25:00. > :25:06.it is a positive movement and it is for the good and it is a privileged

:25:06. > :25:09.to be in amongst it for me. It is about the health of the country as

:25:09. > :25:13.well. We are not just talking about achieving an winning medals at the

:25:13. > :25:18.top level, we are talking about increasing productivity and helping

:25:18. > :25:24.kids perform at school if they are involved in sport so we must have

:25:24. > :25:33.the infrastructure supported as well. I have just heard that Mo

:25:34. > :25:40.Farah's twin is here -- twins are here so the next generation.

:25:40. > :25:44.Well, it is a bit early. The one thing I will say and Paul will back

:25:44. > :25:52.me up is that having a young family puts added pressure and Mo has done

:25:52. > :25:59.a brilliant job in managing that with his wife. He wants to see his

:25:59. > :26:02.kids as well. I think his coach would have been locked away every

:26:02. > :26:06.single day just concentrating on his training that he gets the

:26:06. > :26:13.balance right and it is great that they are here because Tanya here

:26:13. > :26:22.last year the twins were just to do. It is great to get from family life

:26:22. > :26:25.advice from Steve! We will get yours later, Brendan.

:26:25. > :26:29.Seriously though to handle the adulation and the pressure and the

:26:29. > :26:34.family and then keep performing, not even the same, but that on the

:26:34. > :26:37.track, how does he do that? Sometimes it helps and sometimes

:26:37. > :26:41.kids are the absolute best level and they will come home and they

:26:41. > :26:44.will put everything in perspective and they are what is important. At

:26:44. > :26:48.the same time he wants to keep the normality there through them but he

:26:48. > :26:52.also wants to perform up there to support them as well as possible.

:26:52. > :26:58.Well, something at the moment of Jessica Ennis-Hill does not have to

:26:58. > :27:01.worry about, she is newly married, but the things she is concerned and

:27:01. > :27:04.the last few months is the injury to wear ankle and she is out there

:27:04. > :27:07.now ready to compete in the hurdles and this is going to be a huge test

:27:07. > :27:10.for her. Whether she comes through this or not will determine whether

:27:10. > :27:19.we see her in Moscow in a few weeks' time.

:27:19. > :27:24.Yes, she will be very nervous. She walked out on that first morning

:27:24. > :27:28.and it was full and she was the first person there who ran a

:27:28. > :27:32.British record and is set her off on the way to that gold medal. It

:27:32. > :27:37.is a very different scenario here today. She wants to come through

:27:37. > :27:41.this safely and talk -- and I talked to her coach yesterday and

:27:41. > :27:47.he said she had run in under 13 seconds. The injury has been

:27:47. > :27:52.niggling away. I don't think she genuinely thought she was going to

:27:52. > :27:55.be here but that is positive, she is here and there she is on the

:27:55. > :27:58.upward slope towards Moscow so if she comes through this well and she

:27:58. > :28:02.have the long jump later Ron Sommer to the big day, but don't expect

:28:02. > :28:06.too much from her in the hurdles but knowing her she will produce

:28:06. > :28:12.just that little bit more. She looks up to it.

:28:12. > :28:18.Yes of course she is up for it. I saw her earlier in the week in

:28:18. > :28:24.Sheffield getting some treatment and she is never anything other

:28:24. > :28:27.than positive. She put pressure... All good athletes put pressure on

:28:27. > :28:30.the doctor and the physio and the coach and asked when they can get

:28:30. > :28:36.back out and train and how art can they push it because that is what

:28:36. > :28:41.she wants to do. She wants to be in Moscow winning the gold medal.

:28:41. > :28:45.Head coach is sitting over there and he looks as nervous as we are.

:28:45. > :28:49.The only reason she is here is that the British public drew her here.

:28:49. > :28:52.She could not resist. This is her stage but this theatre will not be

:28:52. > :29:01.open again for a couple of years so she could not resist coming here.

:29:01. > :29:06.It is fantastic. You will see his - - you will see her coach in the

:29:06. > :29:12.background heckling after! There he is, give us a wave.

:29:12. > :29:16.He is going to come and join me and watch Jessica from here. Is that a

:29:16. > :29:20.good thing? Is he nervous watch a? He can be.

:29:20. > :29:23.I had got a favourite picture from the Olympic Games which I showed

:29:23. > :29:28.him in December which was him, he is a bit of a soft touch at times,

:29:28. > :29:34.and bit of a tear in his eye, looking at hour monitor when

:29:34. > :29:38.Jessica Ennis-Hill was getting her a medal. The crowd were oblivious

:29:38. > :29:43.that he was the man who spotted her and discovered a. He is looking at

:29:43. > :29:46.me now that he does not know what I am saying so do not tell him!

:29:46. > :29:56.You will be commentating on this untested afternoon so let us remind

:29:56. > :29:56.

:29:56. > :30:44.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 41 seconds

:30:44. > :30:54.ourselves of some of the other A fantastic afternoon in store for

:30:54. > :31:03.

:31:03. > :31:08.metres hurdles, Aries Merritt in the second rate. And a couple of

:31:08. > :31:18.great 100 metres women's for you. The Emsley Carr Mile is coming up

:31:18. > :31:24.later. 400 metres at 3:55pm, Christine Ohuruogu going in that.

:31:24. > :31:30.We can look forward to Mo Farah on the track at 4:30pm. Then it is the

:31:30. > :31:40.relay featuring a Usain Bolt at 4:50pm. You can follow all the

:31:40. > :31:43.

:31:43. > :31:47.action on BBC Sport, our Twitter, Facebook and other pages. It is

:31:47. > :31:52.worth following us even if it is the next few weeks, we are going to

:31:52. > :31:56.be reporting everything one year on exactly from the Olympics. It has

:31:56. > :32:02.been an incredible year for Jessica Ennis-Hill, she got married for one,

:32:02. > :32:12.and she even cannot believe that it is 12 months since those glorious

:32:12. > :32:22.

:32:22. > :32:29.days. The biggest cheer of all will I cannot believe, firstly, that it

:32:29. > :32:32.is in here on it still feels very surreal that it was that huge run

:32:33. > :32:37.it in my career, it all came together and I was able to achieve

:32:38. > :32:41.my dreams. I still see that image of the crossing the line, whether

:32:41. > :32:46.it is on an advert or something that I have come across, and it

:32:46. > :32:50.gives me goose bumps. I cannot believe that I was able to achieve

:32:50. > :32:54.that. It is going to be so strange been back in that environment again.

:32:54. > :32:59.One or was there for the Olympics hurdling, I was thinking, I will

:32:59. > :33:03.never have this opportunity again. At the same time I am in a very

:33:04. > :33:08.different situations. Last year, I was 100% ready to compete. This

:33:08. > :33:13.year, I am not quite as prepared as I would have liked to have been. I

:33:13. > :33:17.am so glad I have finally started my season. Are to go to

:33:17. > :33:22.Loughborough and through a personal best in the javelin was great, that

:33:22. > :33:27.has given me confidence. One event down, I have got cess the rest.

:33:28. > :33:32.This will be a good opportunity to hurdle in a world class field and

:33:32. > :33:35.long jump, Sea haddock comes together. I just -- see how it

:33:35. > :33:39.comes together. I keep thinking, thank God it is not last year and

:33:39. > :33:43.for it to have happened this year is frustrating but if it was this

:33:44. > :33:47.time around the London Olympics last year, it would have been

:33:47. > :33:51.absolutely devastating. Where does this fit in in terms of the

:33:51. > :33:56.ultimate test of form, whether you can compete in the world

:33:56. > :34:02.championships? Unless you were in world championship contention, you

:34:02. > :34:08.do not want to go in as an also ran. I only want to go in if I know I am

:34:08. > :34:12.pretty much ready to contend for the gold medal. It is going to be a

:34:12. > :34:17.good indication, this weekend, to see how the hurdles and long jump

:34:17. > :34:21.goes, where I am physically. How my Achilles holds up for those two

:34:21. > :34:26.events. A couple of days after that as well. It is going to be a good

:34:26. > :34:32.test. I hope to make a decision shortly after that. There she is,

:34:32. > :34:38.just a few moments away from the 100 metre hurdles. Toni Miniechello,

:34:38. > :34:43.or weak have been talking about him, we can now talk to him. Good

:34:43. > :34:47.afternoon. Steve was saying you were very emotional last year, but

:34:47. > :34:53.the gold medal moment, it said it was one of his favourite photos of

:34:53. > :34:57.the Olympics, senior watching Jessica get her muddle. He says I

:34:58. > :35:01.was emotional, I will never admit that! It is good to be back, it is

:35:02. > :35:09.different this time round. When did you make the decision to go the

:35:09. > :35:12.today? That was made after Thursday this week, we needed to give the

:35:12. > :35:17.injury and 48 hours after Loughborough to make sure it would

:35:17. > :35:22.not react badly, it has not. Protect it yesterday and it seems

:35:22. > :35:26.OK. It has been a mixed year for you and her, a complete contrast

:35:27. > :35:30.for last year. You would not have wanted this going into the Olympic

:35:30. > :35:39.Games. It must be frustrating when you cannot back up a brilliant

:35:39. > :35:44.summer with a world Championship. It is frustrating, but it comes

:35:44. > :35:48.with athletics. Athletes do get injured and things happen. You

:35:48. > :35:53.would not want it in any year. It is never a good year to be injured.

:35:53. > :35:57.A lot of good things have happened to her this year, there was a

:35:57. > :36:02.wedding this year, I am sure it she is happy enough. What have you said

:36:02. > :36:07.to her about how to approach this race? I want to -- I want her to

:36:07. > :36:14.come through it a injury-free. I would like to have started out more

:36:14. > :36:18.low-key than the 100 metres in front of 65,000 people. It is to

:36:18. > :36:22.get through it injury free and then it is the next 48 hours, to make

:36:22. > :36:28.sure there is a reaction to it and then we will assess it began.

:36:28. > :36:35.go down to Cologne who is by the start line. -- Colin Jackson. She

:36:35. > :36:43.can see him there, he is concentrating on her face. There is

:36:43. > :36:48.a lot of tension down here. It is a bit blustery again, they could be

:36:48. > :36:52.struggling at the back end of the race. This field is full of talent.

:36:52. > :36:58.We have got the Olympic champion Sally Pearson, who has struggled

:36:58. > :37:02.yet again. She is walking forward to us. She has been injured again.

:37:02. > :37:06.She is coming back, and these hurdles become more of an obstacle

:37:06. > :37:11.when you return from injury. Then we have Jessica Ennis-Hill. She is

:37:11. > :37:17.telling her back on us. She is just composing herself once again to get

:37:17. > :37:20.ready for the competition. It is full of talent, this competition.

:37:20. > :37:24.Tiffany Porter, Britain's No. 1, she is a real strong contender in

:37:24. > :37:30.the world championships. All of that talent, there is Kellie Wells,

:37:30. > :37:35.she just missed out on the US team. He has a personal best of 12.54,

:37:35. > :37:45.not quite quick enough. This will be a blanket finish. Over to the

:37:45. > :37:46.

:37:46. > :37:51.We will get a commentary in a moment. I just want one more word

:37:51. > :37:55.on whether today is the date you decide where the go to Moscow.

:37:55. > :38:00.it is not as clear cut as that. We will take a few days after this to

:38:00. > :38:03.see how the injury reactors, and then see what training we can get

:38:03. > :38:07.in the next week. She will go out late into the holding camp if we go

:38:07. > :38:12.there, or maybe we will go direct to Moscow. We need to look at and

:38:12. > :38:16.make decisions on those. Relationships with coaches is so

:38:16. > :38:19.vital. These are the Times, it is so good being together in the good

:38:19. > :38:25.times, but they have got a fantastic relationship. These are

:38:25. > :38:30.the days when it counts. Exactly, that is what we talk about, the

:38:30. > :38:33.legacy record in the club coaches. That is where he started out and

:38:33. > :38:36.they are there through the tough times, making the crucial decisions

:38:36. > :38:40.which can make or break would you go to a championships or whether

:38:40. > :38:45.you stay at home and think, I could have one. You do not want to take

:38:45. > :38:50.that risk. Tony is starting to twiddle his fingers, it is nearly

:38:50. > :39:00.race time. We are here for you, it is nearly time. Let's Join the

:39:00. > :39:03.

:39:03. > :39:08.waiting to be introduced to the crowd. Another full house in

:39:08. > :39:14.brilliant sunshine, the forecast was not great. But it is a bit

:39:14. > :39:24.breezy down there. Nia Ali does not start, so we have got to the line

:39:24. > :39:39.

:39:39. > :39:42.competitive event in the world. The 100 metre hurdles for women's.

:39:42. > :39:47.Shermaine Williams made the semi- finals of the Olympics, she has not

:39:47. > :39:52.been quick this year. Watch out for Yvette Lewis in it Labour three.

:39:52. > :39:57.She only made the US semi-final championships, but in the last

:39:57. > :40:01.couple of races, she has run a new personal best. She was second in

:40:01. > :40:07.Monaco last week. Kellie Wells, the Olympic bronze medallist. What a

:40:07. > :40:12.great race it was last here. As Colin it just mentioned, despite

:40:12. > :40:15.running 12.54, she did not make the team, she was 4th in the trials.

:40:15. > :40:19.Talking about coming right from injury, the world and Olympic

:40:19. > :40:23.champion Sally Pearson, still trying to find her best form. Her

:40:23. > :40:27.first race back after her hamstring injury was good, but she has

:40:27. > :40:30.struggled after that. Normally, Tiffany Porter you would say was

:40:31. > :40:39.Britain's No. 1 had levelled up when the heptathlete of not taking

:40:39. > :40:49.part, that is! She is the UK champion. Let's listen to the roar

:40:49. > :41:00.

:41:00. > :41:04.Hildebrand, the German champions. I was saying a few minutes ago, that

:41:04. > :41:07.first morning, the first event which set the tone for the whole

:41:07. > :41:16.athletics programme and said Jessica or on her way to the gold

:41:16. > :41:20.medal, that 12.54 clocking, it is the British record. Tiffany Porter

:41:20. > :41:24.is the second fastest. No records are expected today. It will be a

:41:24. > :41:30.safe, good performance from Jess Ennis-Hill, one which she can carry

:41:30. > :41:37.forward, the long jumper to run. It will hopefully give her the

:41:37. > :41:41.confidence to give the decision about going to Moscow. Watch in the

:41:41. > :41:51.middle lanes, Yvette Lewis, Kellie Wells, Sally Pearson and Tiffany

:41:51. > :41:59.

:41:59. > :42:03.Wells. Alongside her, Jessica Ennis-Hill. Sally Pearson, she won

:42:03. > :42:07.the World Weddle last year. It is going to be Sally Pearson who wins

:42:07. > :42:16.it from Tiffany Porter. Jessica Ennis-Hill could have got 4th or

:42:16. > :42:19.5th. That team is -- that run is much better from Sally Pearson. She

:42:19. > :42:23.finished really well that time. A solid performance from Jess, she

:42:23. > :42:29.will be happy to come through that. She looks like she has a smile on

:42:29. > :42:34.her face. Look how much it means to Sally Pearson. A season's best for

:42:34. > :42:38.her. She won up well in her -- she ran well in her first race, she had

:42:38. > :42:40.not been able to move on from that and will today. She may well be

:42:40. > :42:47.able to go with some confidence towards the championships and

:42:47. > :42:50.defend her world title. nation's favourite coming back from

:42:50. > :42:55.injury, Sally Pearson, Australia will be happy with this because she

:42:55. > :43:01.has had problems. A very impressive season's best for her. Four Jessica

:43:01. > :43:06.Ennis-Hill Hill, as she is now known, it is about getting in there.

:43:06. > :43:11.She finished strongly, it is about not feeling any tweaks or twinges.

:43:11. > :43:16.Coming over the hurdles if you have an injury, that is where it will be

:43:16. > :43:25.felt more. Impressive from Sally Pearson. She took it out from the

:43:25. > :43:28.start and through the Lanka all the way, she looked very strong. Sally

:43:28. > :43:35.Tippett -- Sally Pearson is a great technician, she has not finished so

:43:35. > :43:42.well in the last few races. Jess, nice safely out of the blocks, a

:43:42. > :43:48.decent reaction, you can understand how she was not so fast. You can

:43:48. > :43:54.see their she will be pleased with the way she finished a the race.

:43:54. > :43:59.She finished ahead of Yvette Lewis, just outside of 13 seconds. It will

:44:00. > :44:08.be interesting to get her coach's view. We look forward to seeing her

:44:08. > :44:13.Alongside me, the winner Sally Pearson, and Jess. I thought your

:44:14. > :44:21.face on the start gave it all away. You were more relaxed its at the

:44:21. > :44:26.start of the heptathlete event in the Olympics. This, this was my

:44:26. > :44:32.first event since the Olympics, having this injury, I could not

:44:32. > :44:39.have prepared as well. It was great to be here but I was disappointed

:44:39. > :44:43.with my time. You finished strongly, you must be pleased with that.

:44:43. > :44:48.I am lacking the speed though. By any guests started on the had us

:44:48. > :44:53.this week, it is expected. -- I only just started on the hurdles

:44:53. > :44:58.this week. You have time to get this changed the thought Moscow?

:44:58. > :45:03.And will have a chat with my coach and see if we can change things

:45:03. > :45:08.before Moscow. Good luck with the long jump. Congratulations, Sally,

:45:08. > :45:16.a contrast of remissions, shedding light on your face. It is all

:45:16. > :45:21.coming together after two a hamstring tears. That is not easy

:45:21. > :45:26.to come back from. I was so nervous. I was ready, I knew I could do this.

:45:26. > :45:33.It still wasn't perfect, but there are parts that I was going to be

:45:33. > :45:36.cautious on. I just want to stay here! It was just a matter of

:45:36. > :45:42.putting the race together and getting over the finish line. I did

:45:42. > :45:47.that, I am happy with that, it is not a fast race. I am happy that I

:45:48. > :45:54.came out on top of these goals today. Just come up I was nervous

:45:54. > :46:00.of her in the warm-up, I was never sure what she was going to do, she

:46:00. > :46:10.is a freak! We were she well in Moscow. -- We wish you well in

:46:10. > :46:21.

:46:21. > :46:28.delighted to get that victory. delighted to get that victory.

:46:28. > :46:34.Jessica Ennis-Hill came in 4th. We will get at the reaction from

:46:34. > :46:37.her coach now. What you make of it all? I think even listening to

:46:37. > :46:41.Jessica there she will be a little bit disappointed with at the time

:46:41. > :46:45.but if you try and balance that with finishing 4th, there is nobody

:46:45. > :46:49.on her left hand side which means that she lost contact -- lost

:46:49. > :46:54.contact with the other athletes so there are positive and negative to

:46:54. > :46:58.draw from it. We will sit down and have the discussion. It is probably

:46:58. > :47:04.where you would expect her to start the season, not being an out and

:47:04. > :47:08.out hurdler. She is playing catch- up now, if she just ring rusty?

:47:08. > :47:12.hope so but there is certainly possibly the need for another race

:47:13. > :47:17.before she goes off to Moscow to be certain she is back in shape

:47:17. > :47:22.because this event she is strong in so you must put that stamp on the

:47:22. > :47:28.heptathlon when you start. In the Olympic she started so

:47:28. > :47:33.fantastically and she wants to make sure she has down there or

:47:33. > :47:38.thereabouts before she commits. You want a time that opens up at

:47:38. > :47:43.around 12.8. That is doable and it gives you a good start and puts you

:47:43. > :47:47.in line for a nice score that will be very competitive. So, reasons to

:47:47. > :47:53.be cheerful, Colin. You are watching it Britannica lies. What

:47:53. > :47:58.do you say? Technically there is nothing wrong with it. People tend

:47:59. > :48:04.to forget that in hurdles you get very rusty and you have to practise

:48:04. > :48:08.running at pace in an offer every single barrier -- barrier. Sally

:48:08. > :48:13.Pearson has lost four metres on her best form purely because of injury

:48:13. > :48:17.and not being able to get back into the groove. Jessica is exactly the

:48:17. > :48:22.same. Sometimes we expect too much from our superstar athletes. She

:48:22. > :48:32.needs to get back into racing mode yet again and run off every single

:48:32. > :48:36.barrier aggressively and properly. She, Sally, has run quite a lot of

:48:36. > :48:41.races. She performed really well here and she is also benefiting

:48:41. > :48:49.from those memories last year. When Jessica Ken Knight you saw her

:48:49. > :48:54.close her eyes and remember and she has to call herself into getting

:48:54. > :49:00.back into that shape. She just needs a little bit of a myth --

:49:00. > :49:05.little bit of a lift. She has the long jump now, are you going to go

:49:05. > :49:08.and spend a bit of time with her? Yes, we will go would have a bit of

:49:08. > :49:12.a chat and a bit of a post-mortem after that event and then we will

:49:12. > :49:22.move on and start dealing with the long jump. What sort of friend of

:49:22. > :49:22.

:49:22. > :50:16.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 41 seconds

:50:16. > :50:23.mine was she being? I do not know! magical times on this track last

:50:23. > :50:33.year. It was astonishing. There has been a trail of injuries and

:50:33. > :50:35.

:50:35. > :50:45.hamstring problems which hampered his progress. Watch out for the men

:50:45. > :50:48.

:50:48. > :50:56.in the middle. A youngster from Warrington goes on the outside.

:50:56. > :51:00.That is an Martin Mazac who is twice the Czech champion. Alongside

:51:00. > :51:10.him is the elder of the Martyn Oates leg guards brothers. They are

:51:10. > :51:14.both going very well this season. - - Thomas Martinot-Lagarde. That is

:51:14. > :51:24.Orlando Ortega. He is Cuban and make the final last year. He has

:51:24. > :51:34.lowered his personal best this year and he is going very well. David

:51:34. > :51:39.Oliver. He is the fastest in the world this year. He has been

:51:39. > :51:44.unbeatable. Ryan Wilson is the recently crowned US champion. He

:51:44. > :51:53.has been taking advantage of and the still recovering Aires Merritt.

:51:53. > :52:03.The Dutch champion is just 20 years old. He has had a personal best

:52:03. > :52:06.this season. Lawrence Clarke, he really was incredible, finishing

:52:06. > :52:11.4th in the Olympic final last August and this season have been

:52:12. > :52:17.blighted by injury. What can experience for James Gladman. He is

:52:17. > :52:23.from Warrington and studying at the University of Bath. 13.71 this

:52:23. > :52:26.season. It is all about the experience. So, it is the first

:52:26. > :52:36.three, plus the two fastest that will go through to the final just

:52:36. > :52:36.

:52:36. > :53:18.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 41 seconds

:53:18. > :53:28.after 4pm. In lane to a Martin them up but then he stumbled and he

:53:28. > :53:30.

:53:30. > :53:40.is down. It is going to be David Oliver bringing them home. Orlando

:53:40. > :53:40.

:53:40. > :53:47.Ortega is out. The windows to David Oliver. Orlando Ortega seems to be

:53:47. > :53:51.OK but not for him here in London over these two days.

:53:51. > :53:56.It is good to see because there was a horrible accident in laws than a

:53:56. > :54:00.couple of weeks ago with an athletes stumbling over and

:54:00. > :54:05.breaking his leg horribly. David Oliver, the fastest man in the

:54:05. > :54:11.world, safely through. Ryan Wilson had a messy race but he also made

:54:11. > :54:18.it through in third place. Yes, that for did look nasty but a

:54:18. > :54:23.few rolls and he was up and at them. It left David Oliver out and clear

:54:23. > :54:29.but it is disappointing for Ryan Wilson.

:54:29. > :54:32.Colin Jackson is never far away. It is uncomfortable to see a hurdler

:54:32. > :54:35.coming a cropper. This time last year have to

:54:35. > :54:38.remember that the hurdlers struggled along with this surface

:54:39. > :54:42.and they found it bouncy and it pushed them on to the hurdles at a

:54:42. > :54:46.quicker than they are used to but once they got into the groove they

:54:46. > :54:51.ran very quickly indeed. I think these athletes may just have been

:54:51. > :54:55.suffering from that. Orlando Ortega is from Cuba and he gets off the

:54:55. > :55:01.blocks very well and he works hard into it but he has lacked racing

:55:01. > :55:05.this year. He has got this very quick time under his belt but he

:55:05. > :55:10.lacks the race scale compared to David Oliver who is returning from

:55:10. > :55:15.injury and looking very strong indeed. He rolls over these

:55:15. > :55:19.barriers wonderfully well. He has strong at the technique and

:55:19. > :55:25.everybody says to watch him at the World Championships because he is

:55:25. > :55:28.coming right into great shape as he is demonstrating here. Thomas

:55:28. > :55:35.Martinot-Lagarde did very well there as well because he was

:55:36. > :55:40.slightly bothered by Ock Orlando Ortega going over there. The three

:55:40. > :55:47.who go through art David Oliver, Thomas Martinot-Lagarde and Ryan

:55:47. > :55:49.Wilson, automatically through to the final.

:55:49. > :55:54.Chris Tomlinson of Great Britain will have two things on his mind

:55:54. > :56:00.today, to try and maximise his Diamond League points during this

:56:00. > :56:05.series of meetings but he also has one eye on qualification for Moscow.

:56:05. > :56:10.8.25 is what is required. That is his have -- that is his first jump

:56:10. > :56:15.and it is close to eight metres. No one has been over eight metres so

:56:15. > :56:20.far in this round. Included in the line-up we have Alexandr Menkov who

:56:20. > :56:27.we know quite well in this country because he won the Birmingham

:56:27. > :56:35.meeting and the championships at Gateshead. The great Dwight

:56:35. > :56:41.Phillips from the United States, former Olympic and world champion.

:56:41. > :56:51.7.99 for Chris Tomlinson. He is in the lead.

:56:51. > :56:56.This is one of the best athletes on display here today, it is the shot

:56:56. > :57:00.put. She is twice an Olympic champion, world champion as well.

:57:00. > :57:07.What an athlete she is! Looking with great interest as to how far

:57:07. > :57:10.this one is. She has dominated the competition so far.

:57:10. > :57:15.competition so far. What a great shot that is. Never

:57:15. > :57:22.tire of seeing the Olympic Stadium of from overhead. I cannot believe

:57:22. > :57:26.this whether either. We were warned all week of rain but it has stayed

:57:26. > :57:30.dry. We will have the chance this afternoon to revisit some other

:57:30. > :57:40.sports from last year and meet some of the other great Olympians who

:57:40. > :57:48.

:57:48. > :57:53.brought us so much joy. We will Tim Bailie and Etienne Stott, this

:57:53. > :57:57.is looking great for Great Britain. He has such great strength.

:57:57. > :58:01.Powering on. This could be a medal run of four

:58:01. > :58:05.Great Britain. Great Britain are flying here!

:58:05. > :58:11.Oh, my goodness! Tim Bailie and Etienne Stott are through the

:58:11. > :58:18.finish line and the Olympic champions. Absolutely brilliant.

:58:18. > :58:23.It is gold and the crowd let out a roar!

:58:23. > :58:31.I am delighted to say that one half of that gold medal is here. Etienne

:58:31. > :58:35.Stott is with me but no Tim Bailie to date. He is badly injured.

:58:35. > :58:38.Sadly I am injured because I dislocated my shoulder so we are

:58:38. > :58:41.ruled out for the rest of the season and probably the rest of the

:58:42. > :58:46.year but at least I am here. Absolutely, tell us a bit about the

:58:46. > :58:51.last year and how you live changed. It is just incredible. Coming back

:58:51. > :58:57.here has brought back so many memories. We have had an MBA and we

:58:57. > :59:00.have spoken to so many people -- MBE. We have visited so many

:59:00. > :59:05.schools and the buzz is so fantastic. One year on it still

:59:05. > :59:09.seems like a dream. Is amazing. What about your sport and the

:59:09. > :59:16.uptake and the interest? Have there been a buzz within the sport?

:59:16. > :59:21.quite hard to tell but there is the -- canoe slalom is a very small

:59:21. > :59:29.sport and it always has been but a platform like the Olympics has been

:59:29. > :59:33.a huge boost. The clubs I am involved in have had a huge legacy

:59:33. > :59:39.scheme and we hope elite breeding the next generation of champions.

:59:39. > :59:43.You are going to miss the next world championships are you going

:59:43. > :59:46.to Rio? We haven't decided. We decided to go year by year because

:59:46. > :59:51.how can we top last year but we love what we do and we are

:59:51. > :59:54.fortunate to be funded full-time by the National Lottery and we are

:59:54. > :59:58.amazing is supported and it is such a great environment to be and so it

:59:58. > :00:02.is a shame to leave it. We have to do one job at a time and that is my

:00:02. > :00:06.shoulder at the moment. Real life will come back one day but put off

:00:06. > :00:10.for as long as you can! Absolutely, we will be retired for a long time

:00:11. > :00:15.and I love what I do so we want to carry on. Was there a moment in the

:00:15. > :00:19.last year where real life just kind of landed again and you fell either

:00:19. > :00:24.by have had gone a bit and it felt like you were back in the hard days

:00:24. > :00:27.of training? It is hard to say. You get used to it somewhat but once in

:00:27. > :00:32.a while you watch a bit of video or someone added just hits you like a

:00:32. > :00:37.train, I am Olympic champion still and it is amazing. I guess it

:00:37. > :00:47.doesn't settle down really. That is good. Lovely to see you. From one

:00:47. > :00:47.

:00:47. > :02:15.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 41 seconds

:02:15. > :02:21.coming back, William Sharman will figure. He has run very fast. Jeff

:02:21. > :02:31.Porter, the husband of Tiffany Porter who we saw in the 100 metre

:02:31. > :02:34.

:02:34. > :02:43.hurdles. Gianni Frankis, coached by Tony Jarrett. He ran pretty well in

:02:43. > :02:49.the UK championships. He is finding good form this year. I think for

:02:49. > :02:53.Aries Merritt, this is a big test, another test on his way back. Could

:02:53. > :02:58.not do anything wrong last year, and then start of the season

:02:58. > :03:02.reasonably well, and then that race in Shanghai, he tore his hamstring.

:03:02. > :03:07.He has had a lot of problems since then, a lot of treatment. He got

:03:07. > :03:14.through the American trials. He is the defending world champion, he

:03:14. > :03:18.has a wild card. Managed to finish third. So he will be there to

:03:18. > :03:28.defend and try and make it an Arabic and world championship gold-

:03:28. > :03:33.

:03:33. > :03:39.medal in Moscow. -- Olympic and Aries Merritt. He is starting to

:03:39. > :03:46.pull away. This is more like it from Aries Merritt. Aries Merritt

:03:46. > :03:51.wins, 13.14. That was more like it, he looked more relaxed, more

:03:51. > :03:55.comfortable. He got a decent start, he got into his running nicely.

:03:55. > :04:02.That is as good as three seen him this year. You run it quicker in

:04:02. > :04:07.Paris, and will be interesting to it get the comments from Colin. It

:04:07. > :04:13.is this season's best for William Sharman. Was that better for Aries

:04:13. > :04:18.Merritt? You knew I was going to say something! He is pushing for a

:04:18. > :04:24.time. Two wants to the aggressor to the first barrier, he does the

:04:24. > :04:28.seven stride approach, now he is chasing. He is pushing hard. He is

:04:28. > :04:35.no longer shuffling between the barriers. He could sprint easier

:04:35. > :04:40.last year. He works hard and you must remember, the wind was plus

:04:40. > :04:46.1.3. When you have got his leg length, that is a real burden. He

:04:46. > :04:50.drives hard into the first barrier. A seven stride approach. Works hard

:04:50. > :04:55.at the second hurdle. It is important that you generate speed

:04:55. > :05:00.quickly. At this stage you settle down. His shoulders are warriors,

:05:00. > :05:04.wondering after the barriers. He is a bit too stressed. The hurdles are

:05:04. > :05:06.coming through too quickly and he is not used to that yet. As he get

:05:06. > :05:12.into the groove of the championships, he will relax into

:05:12. > :05:22.it, and we will see him get close to 13 seconds again. The wind, plus

:05:22. > :05:23.

:05:23. > :05:29.Colin Jackson is talking about you getting back into a groove, had a

:05:30. > :05:33.bit feel? It felt like a good grace. It is the first round so I am

:05:33. > :05:41.trying to save something for the final. It is a quick turnaround so

:05:41. > :05:45.only to go and get some lunch. One final word, what is it like to be

:05:45. > :05:50.back here? The crowd is amazing, London has always been great for me.

:05:51. > :06:00.I loved the London crowd. I cannot be more excited to be back here and

:06:01. > :06:08.

:06:08. > :06:18.Gianni Frankis and Jeff Porter will go through to the final as quickest

:06:18. > :06:21.

:06:21. > :06:30.continues to dominate this competition, despite the fact that

:06:30. > :06:38.Christina Schwanitz has hit 90 metres. Valerie Adams is getting

:06:38. > :06:41.better and better, she did not like her technique. Her coach is sitting

:06:41. > :06:48.in the stand behind her. People have a very good view of the

:06:48. > :06:55.technique of this great athlete. It is very long, 20 metres and 82, she

:06:55. > :07:03.extends her lead again. It is a new meeting of record. Drives across,

:07:03. > :07:09.hit it hard. There for kilogram shot sailing out to almost 70 ft.

:07:09. > :07:17.It is beyond the length of a cricket pitch. She is the dominant

:07:17. > :07:23.force at the moment. At the moment, Michelle Carter is third. Aleksandr

:07:23. > :07:26.Menkov has a real problem. He had two fouls in succession. Because

:07:26. > :07:35.there are nine Athlete in the competition, only eight will go for

:07:35. > :07:45.it. -- go forward. So he needed to get one of the board. Tomlinson and

:07:45. > :07:45.

:07:46. > :07:51.Great Britain leads. No one has gone over 80 metres. -- eight

:07:52. > :07:59.litres. I suspect that Aleksandr Menkov will still be at the top

:07:59. > :08:05.eight. He needs about seven metres 56 to go forward. He is only just!

:08:05. > :08:15.Beware cover Alexander big cough is still a great long jumper, he could

:08:15. > :08:16.

:08:16. > :08:21.Let's have another look at Aries Merritt. He said in Berlin, wait

:08:21. > :08:27.till London, I will dip under 13 seconds. It is not quite where he

:08:27. > :08:31.wants to be. He is spending a lot of time pressing forward. He is

:08:31. > :08:40.around three metres of tracks lower than he is used to Rabin. You need

:08:40. > :08:43.to get back in to the groove, but 10 barriers. You from doing that.

:08:43. > :08:50.He needs to get a fluid technique over the barrier and believe in

:08:50. > :08:55.himself. The comfortable and cautious in one way cover but also

:08:55. > :09:02.believe in himself. When you can run 12.80 cover you have got a lot

:09:02. > :09:06.of ability but he has got to believe that. It is about being in

:09:06. > :09:13.the zone where everything is easy, very few sports people experience

:09:13. > :09:16.that. He had that last summer. is still in it. It is very hard,

:09:16. > :09:24.because you almost do not realise when you're in it, how well

:09:24. > :09:27.everything is going. When you look back, it you think, I really felt I

:09:27. > :09:33.was unbeatable. Whatever way I chose to run the race. Everything

:09:33. > :09:38.came together. It only, it can rarely lost for a short period of

:09:38. > :09:44.time. The key is to keep your cool, appreciate it and not think too

:09:44. > :09:48.much about it. I imagine it might be easy to get back to its cover

:09:48. > :09:54.that is why Jessica Ennis-Hill can if you missed it, her first hurdles

:09:54. > :09:58.since the Olympics, her first competitive hurdles. I can imagine

:09:58. > :10:05.how frustrated she is. It is one of her favourite events. She will be a

:10:05. > :10:07.little bit disappointed, her coach said. It is the time. Three get the

:10:07. > :10:14.performance in sense of where she finished, it is the time which will

:10:14. > :10:22.be crucial for have. If she is not running around about culprit eight,

:10:22. > :10:29.it makes her susceptible in other events. -- 12.8. Her rivals will

:10:29. > :10:34.enjoy seeing that that she is not running particularly fast. She will

:10:34. > :10:41.-- they will believe that she could be beaten. If she comes through

:10:41. > :10:47.today welcome and feels good, will she still push on to Moscow feeling

:10:47. > :10:52.she is lacking in performance? think a lot will depend on how she

:10:52. > :10:58.recovers physically in the next couple of days. Whether an injury

:10:58. > :11:03.has flared up. Another race could help a lot. We are looking forward

:11:03. > :11:13.to the women's 100 metres, featuring Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce,

:11:13. > :11:25.

:11:25. > :11:35.who did it once more last year in but Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will

:11:35. > :11:37.

:11:37. > :11:47.retain the title. Carmelita Jeter will get silver. After a modest

:11:47. > :11:53.

:11:53. > :12:00.start, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Olympic champion, and alongside her

:12:00. > :12:08.will be the woman who she beat into the silver medal, Coverley to get a.

:12:08. > :12:14.English gardener, a talented sprinter. -- Carmelita Jeter. Let's

:12:14. > :12:21.have a look at the start list. The quality in this field, and then on

:12:21. > :12:29.lane two, the 17 year-old Desiree Henry, what a chance of her life to

:12:29. > :12:33.live up gives these greats of women's sprinting. I think the last

:12:33. > :12:37.time she was in this stadium, she was helping to light the Olympic

:12:37. > :12:47.flame, as one of the young athletes chosen, she was chosen by Daley

:12:47. > :12:52.

:12:52. > :13:00.Thompson. She now sees her applause old today. Third in the Jamaica

:13:00. > :13:04.championships. And Kerron Stewart, the Jamaican champion, silver

:13:04. > :13:12.medallist in Beijing and the World Championships in Berlin a year

:13:12. > :13:16.later. And then Carmelita Jeter. Silver medallists last year in the

:13:16. > :13:20.100 metres, that she anchored the US team to that astonishing world

:13:20. > :13:30.Mackle. She is not been good for this year. She has been hampered by

:13:30. > :13:39.

:13:39. > :13:43.the gold medal. Look out for English Gardner, the US champion,

:13:43. > :13:51.running at 10.85 in the final. This is the first time she has been in

:13:51. > :13:57.the UK. She will be a threat in Moscow as well. And Jeneba Tarmoh

:13:58. > :14:04.won the title in Iowa last year, -- last month, 4th in the 100 metres.

:14:04. > :14:14.On the outside, the former you -- European indoor champion, and less

:14:14. > :14:15.

:14:15. > :14:25.rip-off. She's from youth crime. -- Olesya Povh. She is from the

:14:25. > :14:39.

:14:39. > :14:47.American female sprinters, English Gardner. But how is the form of

:14:47. > :14:50.Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce? She has been winning races in 100 metres

:14:50. > :15:00.and 200 metres this season. This could be an open race come the

:15:00. > :15:14.

:15:14. > :15:18.Pryce, and she takes at Carmelita Jeter. Coming through for a third

:15:18. > :15:24.is Kerron Stewart. Pretty much as expected. Those three go through

:15:24. > :15:28.automatically to the final. 10.78, and it is it legal. It is quick

:15:28. > :15:34.from Shirli-Ann Fraser-Pryce. The fastest in the world this year. She

:15:34. > :15:38.is in very good form of. She could perhaps go even lower in the final.

:15:38. > :15:46.She is safely through. Carmelita Jeter is coming back to some form.

:15:46. > :15:48.But she could not quite stay with Jamaican Olympic champion. It was

:15:48. > :15:54.great to see Shelly-Ann Fraser- Pryce returning to have favoured

:15:54. > :16:02.event, the 100 metres. You can see why. Explosive at the box, drives

:16:02. > :16:07.hard, of how full for the first 30 or 40 metres. She does not have a

:16:07. > :16:12.high it me a lift, she relies on leg speed. She cannot manage that a

:16:12. > :16:22.whole that to the line. Look what whole that to the line. Look what

:16:22. > :16:26.

:16:26. > :16:33.tall woman at all. Carmelita Jeter talked about the injuries she has

:16:33. > :16:40.had this summer. She missed the US championship so that she could still

:16:40. > :16:43.be named for the US squad for Moscow. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is

:16:43. > :16:53.very impressive. English Gardener was a little bit sluggish. I

:16:53. > :17:02.

:17:02. > :17:12.was a fantastic performance. 10.77 at this stage could not be more

:17:12. > :17:13.

:17:13. > :17:19.perfect. It is not perfect yet! I am enjoying this evening, racing

:17:19. > :17:27.competitively. My competitors always give 100%. I am looking forward to

:17:27. > :17:33.the rest of the season. How much is being back here to spur you on?

:17:33. > :17:38.I came in here, I reminisced about the London Olympics. It was

:17:38. > :17:41.wonderful for me, and I think being here is a tremendous opportunity to

:17:41. > :17:49.race again and do well. Congratulations and see you in the

:17:49. > :17:54.final. Thank you very much. We will certainly see her in the final, as

:17:54. > :18:03.will Carmelita Jeter, who has run a season's best. English Gardener may

:18:03. > :18:13.have to wait to see if she is one of the fastest losers to go through.

:18:13. > :18:24.

:18:24. > :18:29.Desiree Henry has shaved a fraction metres so far this afternoon for

:18:29. > :18:36.Valerie Adams. She blasts another one, way beyond the 20-metre mark!

:18:36. > :18:40.She has a lifetime best of over 21 metres a couple of seasons ago, and

:18:40. > :18:46.she looks as though she is returning to that kind of form. A superb

:18:46. > :18:56.display. The only other person who is near her is the German compact

:18:56. > :18:56.

:18:57. > :19:06.at. She proves this her longest throw in the world in 2013 at 20.19.

:19:07. > :19:14.

:19:14. > :19:18.and a tremendous height. That looks as though it will go into the lead

:19:18. > :19:25.in this fourth round. Chris Tomlinson and the rest have

:19:25. > :19:30.literally got to raise their game. The Australian won the Commonwealth

:19:30. > :19:38.Games three years ago. That was the same year that he won't be world

:19:38. > :19:45.indoor championship. My goodness! That was absolutely on the board.

:19:45. > :19:50.8.17, a tremendous lead. The shot put is finished, and what a display

:19:50. > :19:54.by one of the best athletes in the Stadium this afternoon. Valerie

:19:54. > :19:59.Adams dominated the competition, with the longest throw in the world

:19:59. > :20:07.this season, 20.90. She spoke to us afterwards. What a performance

:20:07. > :20:13.today. You grew in increments it I picked. You have a stadium record.

:20:13. > :20:19.Yes, I am happy with today. It is a world leader for me, so everything

:20:19. > :20:25.is looking good going forward to Moscow. What is it like being back

:20:26. > :20:30.here? You got the gold eventually in September. Is there a sense of

:20:30. > :20:35.redemption coming back here and winning here today? Absolutely. It

:20:35. > :20:45.almost feels like the same crowd as last year. It is like a deja vu, but

:20:45. > :20:50.this time we have the real winners. I was happy to be here and give a

:20:50. > :20:54.good performance. I cannot ask for more than that. And what about this,

:20:54. > :20:58.another Super Saturday for us in London? I am falling in love with

:20:58. > :21:02.London! The crowd is awesome and it is great to be a part of a

:21:02. > :21:10.competition like this. I am happy to put on a good show for everyone. It

:21:10. > :21:13.is great to see you. See you in Moscow. Thank you very much.

:21:13. > :21:20.looks as though Valerie Adams will be heading for yet another major

:21:20. > :21:25.championship gold medal. She is dominant here. Christina Schwanitz

:21:25. > :21:30.is in second place, Michelle Carter in third. And our best junior four

:21:30. > :21:40.years is in ninth place, Sophie McKinna. Here is the Diamond League

:21:40. > :21:46.

:21:46. > :21:50.race, close between Christina athlete. Because of the drugs issue,

:21:50. > :21:54.she was denied the moment of getting gold at the limpet Games here. It

:21:54. > :21:58.would have been good if she had been presented with it in front of 16,000

:21:58. > :22:08.people. She will have her daily Moscow. We will be there for the

:22:08. > :22:45.

:22:46. > :22:55.Championships, and there is a champion with some options there,

:22:56. > :22:56.

:22:56. > :23:05.Okagbare A. Cheers taking on one of the best quality fields we have seen

:23:05. > :23:10.here. Asha Philip for Great Britain, the British champion this year.

:23:10. > :23:20.Dafne Schippers is in lane three. Kelly-Ann Baptiste was the fastest

:23:20. > :23:23.

:23:23. > :23:31.in the world until a few year -- running a personal best and booking

:23:31. > :23:35.her seat on the plane to Moscow. It will be interesting to watch how the

:23:35. > :23:39.relay team develops. They ran so well yesterday. Another one to watch

:23:39. > :23:44.out for will be Jodie Williams, he was beaten by Dafne Schippers in the

:23:44. > :23:52.championships in the 100 metres. The Dutch heptathlete is on brilliant

:23:52. > :24:02.form. Kelly-Ann Baptiste, 10.83. The fastest time in the world until

:24:02. > :24:03.

:24:03. > :24:13.Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce ran 10.78. Murielle Ahoure up was third in

:24:13. > :24:17.

:24:17. > :24:21.Paris. She gave a good performance in the 60 metres. Also under ten

:24:21. > :24:31.seconds this year, all of these women in these middle names --

:24:31. > :24:35.

:24:35. > :24:45.lanes. The American Championships she did faster than the semi. Serena

:24:45. > :24:55.

:24:56. > :25:05.Saylor is the top German sprinter. find it tough to get into the top

:25:06. > :25:18.

:25:18. > :25:28.three, which is what is required to with Kelly-Ann Baptiste, Murielle

:25:28. > :25:46.

:25:46. > :25:56.Ahoure and others running under 11 start. Kelly-Ann Baptiste is right

:25:56. > :26:00.

:26:00. > :26:04.up there, coming through. Okagbare wins it. 10.87, and we have?

:26:04. > :26:10.High-quality semifinals. What will the final produced? It was not a

:26:10. > :26:16.good start for Okagbare. But she still runs 10.87. That is another

:26:16. > :26:23.personal best. She is on the form of her life! A national record and an

:26:23. > :26:30.area record as well. She can get out of the blocks as well as some of the

:26:30. > :26:39.others. Really, really superb sprinting. I think we have got four

:26:39. > :26:46.winning under 11 seconds here. -- for women. This is a mouthwatering

:26:46. > :26:51.final coming up. Look how far Okagbare comes back from. She will

:26:51. > :26:55.get herself in position early on in the field. She is dangerous to the

:26:55. > :26:59.likes of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. But she is not a consistent starter,

:26:59. > :27:05.whilst Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is. Once she gets going, good strong

:27:05. > :27:15.high knee lift, hauling herself through the field to clock a

:27:15. > :27:16.

:27:16. > :27:21.brand-new African record, 10.86. Another fantastic performance. What

:27:21. > :27:25.about that from your perspective? is going to be a great final. I want

:27:25. > :27:28.to go out and do my best. That is what I want to do any time, any day.

:27:28. > :27:34.How would you assess your form now heading towards the World

:27:34. > :27:39.Championships? My form is going well. I will see what happens in

:27:39. > :27:45.Moscow. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce ran 10.77. Can you challenge that in the

:27:45. > :27:49.final? That was an amazing rate in she had done it before. I am not

:27:49. > :27:54.surprised that she has done it here. She is a good athlete, very

:27:54. > :28:00.talented, and I just want to go out and do my best for myself.

:28:00. > :28:10.fantastic start EU today. We wish you well. Thank you very much.

:28:10. > :28:11.

:28:11. > :28:21.A superb 100 metres. Barbara Pierre did not have a great start. Okagbare

:28:21. > :28:22.

:28:22. > :28:28.at -- had such a bad start. Surely there is more to come. She really

:28:28. > :28:31.could explode out of the blocks in the final. But that is what

:28:31. > :28:40.Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is good at and maintains. What a mouthwatering

:28:40. > :28:46.final we have at 4:20pm. Murielle Ahoure just got ahead of Kelly-Ann

:28:46. > :28:56.Baptiste. Kelly-Ann Baptiste will go through as the fastest loser and

:28:56. > :29:18.

:29:18. > :29:23.champion of last season. He is having problems negotiating the

:29:23. > :29:30.eight-metre line. The conditions are virtually perfect for long jumping.

:29:30. > :29:38.That is better! Once again, Chris Tomlinson, for his position in

:29:38. > :29:42.accommodation is under pressure. Chris Tomlinson's first-round jump

:29:42. > :29:45.was just under eight metres, and has been followed by three consecutive

:29:45. > :29:51.fouls. Something not consistent today. That was spot on, just a

:29:51. > :29:59.couple of centimetres away from the maximum jump. But eight metres

:29:59. > :30:05.exactly for Da Silva. He moves into second place. Luis Alberto Rivera

:30:05. > :30:07.Morales, he jumped 8.46 earlier this year, the only man in the world this

:30:07. > :30:12.year to have beaten Aleksandr Menkov. The Russian is struggling

:30:12. > :30:19.here. That looks better! That looks round about the same sort of

:30:19. > :30:29.distance that we saw from Da Silva. Chris Tomlinson, again, it looks as

:30:29. > :30:32.

:30:32. > :30:37.though he could be pushed down into fourth place. Luckier still leads.

:30:37. > :30:47.Da Silva came through with eight metres. Has Morales got it? Exactly

:30:47. > :31:00.

:31:00. > :31:05.eight metres. He moves into equal The city of Sheffield's other

:31:05. > :31:10.finest athlete, we know who the other one is! Perfect so far for

:31:10. > :31:14.Luke Cutts. We have seen some top-class athlete

:31:14. > :31:24.over last couple of days so far. There are many more well known

:33:33. > :33:37.that he is not here. He has had an injury. He has been suffering from

:33:37. > :33:44.time. It seems league -- seems like an endless stories with hurdlers,

:33:44. > :33:49.they are trying to regain their fitness. You have still got to go

:33:49. > :33:53.out there and compete. There is a judgment of, do I compete or train?

:33:53. > :33:57.This is very difficult when you talk about the technical event. You

:33:57. > :34:07.cannot let your rivals get too much good the at the competition, but

:35:06. > :35:10.We have all of the medallists here. wonderful line-up. Johnny Dutch is

:35:10. > :35:16.a strong athlete. Bershawn Jackson is coming back to form. Coming

:35:16. > :35:20.through the American trials to take his place in the team. If Sebastian

:35:20. > :35:25.Rodger and Rhys Williams can live with the place, -- pace, they will

:35:25. > :35:30.be doing well. There is a Sebastian Rodger, just turned 22, he is

:35:30. > :35:36.making great progress. Silver medallists in the recent European

:35:36. > :35:44.Under 23 championships. Possibly in the best form of his life, Rhys

:35:48. > :35:53.Alongside him, the first of a very strong band of Americans. 4th at

:35:53. > :36:00.the Olympic trials, 5th at the US trials last month, so he is not

:36:00. > :36:07.going to Moscow. Johnny Dutch was just denied at the US trials as

:36:07. > :36:14.well, a 4th place behind my can -- Michael Tinsley -- Michael Tinsley

:36:14. > :36:24.and Bershawn Jackson. Bronze in the Olympics last year, Javier calls

:36:24. > :36:34.and. -- Javier Coulson. Michael Tinsley has been very impressive

:36:34. > :36:44.

:36:44. > :36:49.this season. Silver medallist in twice world champion and twice

:36:49. > :36:56.Olympic champion. A late start to his season and is not quite finding

:36:56. > :37:00.his form Riyadh. Outside him, a remarkably consistent athlete,

:37:00. > :37:07.Bershawn Jackson has been part of every US championships in the last

:37:07. > :37:17.10 years. He has made it again. And on the outside in lane nine, the

:37:17. > :37:23.

:37:24. > :37:28.Jamaican champion, another Olympic Achilles. It would have been

:37:28. > :37:38.assassinated -- fascinating to see whether he would have been able to

:37:38. > :37:49.

:37:49. > :37:59.live with this pace. Sanchez final for the men's 400 metre

:37:59. > :38:14.

:38:14. > :38:19.Sebastian Rodger and Rhys Williams, a tough draw in the inside two

:38:19. > :38:23.lanes. Fairly even after the first couple of hurdles. The Americans

:38:23. > :38:29.will look to finish strongly. At the moment, Sanchez has been left a

:38:29. > :38:34.little bit. Michael Tinsley rising fast, has he gone out too quickly?

:38:34. > :38:39.Sanchez is trying to stay with them. Leford Green is going strongly.

:38:39. > :38:42.Rhys Williams is creeping up on Justin Gaymon on the inside. It is

:38:42. > :38:48.a Michael Tinsley as the car round the corner, who leads Bershawn

:38:48. > :38:53.Jackson. Michael Tinsley is using his amazing strength to was the

:38:53. > :38:57.final hurdle. Bershawn Jackson tried to get there as well. It is

:38:57. > :39:03.going to be jolly Dutch sticky through for second place. A very

:39:03. > :39:10.impressive victory for Michael Tinsley. He let them out well and

:39:10. > :39:17.was strong to the last cover sticky inside 48 seconds. -- sneaking

:39:17. > :39:21.inside 48 seconds. Felix Sanchez, his season has been a struggle. He

:39:21. > :39:29.will hope to run himself into some form for the World Championships,

:39:29. > :39:34.but he is leaving it very late. Not so for Michael Tinsley. This was an

:39:34. > :39:40.impressive performance from Michael Tinsley. Sometimes we wonder what

:39:40. > :39:45.he will do, or will he be aggressive or fast? Or just take

:39:45. > :39:53.his time? But today, he has really proved that he can be a massive

:39:53. > :40:01.threat to everybody. Javier Coulson inside him, they are both in yellow.

:40:01. > :40:07.He is quite a ginger over the first 100 metres. In Monaco last year,

:40:07. > :40:10.last weekend, he went out too quickly. We are all worried. But

:40:10. > :40:16.Michael Tinsley worked hard of every single barrier. He is not the

:40:16. > :40:21.most graceful of hurdlers but he is good from the hurdles. He hits the

:40:21. > :40:28.floor and drives off the line. Watch him puts his hands up, he

:40:28. > :40:32.knows that he has hammered this field. This is the hurdle where

:40:32. > :40:38.every single one of the athletes are about to change down. They

:40:38. > :40:42.think it, shall I take it on my good or bad leg? Michael Tinsley

:40:42. > :40:48.just runs aggressively. He is literally like a high hurdler.

:40:48. > :40:52.Pushes hard, drives in. He sees the hurdle early, pressures on with his

:40:52. > :41:00.legs, over them, beautifully running of the barrier. Watch him

:41:00. > :41:09.glance up to the screen. He is very impressed and happy with that. He's

:41:09. > :41:14.We are on our haunches because this is hard work. So close to a

:41:14. > :41:17.personal best, this performance. was a good race, the crowd really

:41:17. > :41:20.motivated me to get out hard and do a good race. How much do you want

:41:20. > :41:27.to put a marker down when you're in a world chance -- world-class field

:41:27. > :41:32.like that? I wanted a good race. To go into the world championships.

:41:32. > :41:35.What happens between now and then? Try to stay healthy and focus.

:41:35. > :41:40.for the crowd here today, and this atmosphere in the Olympic Stadium,

:41:40. > :41:46.how much did that inspire you? love it, it gives me the strength

:41:46. > :41:51.to come out and keep hurdling. done. Thank you.The contrast

:41:51. > :41:55.between the man who took silver meat -- Michael Tinsley, and Felix

:41:55. > :41:59.Sanchez, who was in last place. So he goes into the world

:41:59. > :42:09.championships in fine fettle, Michael Tinsley. He is a man to

:42:09. > :42:14.

:42:14. > :42:22.beat this season. Poor old Felix Rhys Williams just below 49 seconds,

:42:22. > :42:30.Rhys Williams just below 49 seconds, Aleksandr Menkov Int 8th place,

:42:30. > :42:34.last attempt and that is big. Never say never. He is shaking his head

:42:34. > :42:43.and saying, Well, why didn't I do that before? That was beautiful

:42:43. > :42:51.jumping. He has only been beaten once this year. That was by a

:42:51. > :42:57.morale as, the Mexican. On the mat, he has been totally dominant. So

:42:57. > :43:01.that means that Kristen as it has gone down one more place. 831, the

:43:01. > :43:07.same distance that Greg Rutherford won the Olympic title in. So Chris

:43:07. > :43:12.Tomlinson, what is he thinking? It is this on nothing for victory and

:43:12. > :43:17.a possibility of a trip to Moscow for the World Championships. Not

:43:17. > :43:26.bad. It could be eight metres or thereabouts. He needs over 80

:43:26. > :43:32.metres 17 to go into second place. -- eight metres 17. Fabrice

:43:32. > :43:41.Lapierre looks like he could have retired injured. He did not take

:43:41. > :43:47.his 6th job. De Silva and Rollo's up eight metres each. Seven metres

:43:47. > :43:53.99, exactly the same as his first round joint, he finishes in 5th. A

:43:53. > :44:03.one-off effort for Aleksandr Menkov but it was enough. He dominated the

:44:03. > :44:08.

:44:08. > :44:12.competition with that one jump. JJ This is a high-quality Diamond

:44:13. > :44:22.League meeting, but it is also an excuse, it is the Sainsbury's

:44:23. > :44:23.

:44:23. > :46:20.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 41 seconds

:46:20. > :46:23.Anniversary Games, to remember the proud, when you look at that and see

:46:23. > :46:30.all those faces, it is one year, can you believe you were part of that

:46:30. > :46:35.magic for two weeks? It is unbelievable, and we are so lucky to

:46:35. > :46:44.be back here and be involved in this. I cannot believe one year has

:46:44. > :46:50.already gone by. What has it done for your sport? It is difficult to

:46:50. > :46:55.tell at the moment. It will be more in the future when we see more

:46:55. > :46:59.school leavers taking it up. There are a lot of kids like there that

:46:59. > :47:05.want to try horse riding and see what fun it is. I have got one of

:47:05. > :47:14.them at home! And tae kwon do, has it had a great surge in interest?

:47:14. > :47:18.don't know, but it has been tremendous for the sport. Sony clubs

:47:18. > :47:24.have increased their membership. Our national championships will be the

:47:24. > :47:29.best -- the biggest one yet this year. It is fantastic to see all the

:47:29. > :47:37.kids joining clubs. What is the best part about being an Olympic

:47:37. > :47:43.medallist? The best part for me is that it had eluded my career for so

:47:43. > :47:50.long and it was the only one I still needed. I would have preferred it

:47:50. > :47:56.was a different colour! Are you going for it again? I had a couple

:47:56. > :48:00.of injuries since the Games, and I am still recovering, but I hope that

:48:00. > :48:05.I can be there again in three years. And I can imagine that come in here

:48:05. > :48:11.today, it reminds you what it was all about. Definitely. It brings

:48:11. > :48:15.back all the emotions that I had last year at the Games. It is

:48:15. > :48:20.amazing that one year has gone by so quickly. It is fantastic to deal

:48:20. > :48:29.with the fans and it really makes me thankful for British Athletics for

:48:29. > :48:34.sorting out the tickets for us! in Rio? I hope so. We have the

:48:34. > :48:39.European Championships in a couple of months. It is the case of getting

:48:39. > :48:42.the right horse at the right time, but Rio would be amazing. It is

:48:42. > :48:49.thanks to the funding that we can get that we can come to venues like

:48:49. > :48:59.this and carry on later in life. bit older than the normal athlete.

:48:59. > :49:11.

:49:11. > :49:14.The athletes at ready to take part Djibouti. Young Matthew Centrowitz

:49:14. > :49:18.surprised everybody a couple of years ago at the World Championships

:49:18. > :49:26.by taking the gold medal. He had a struggle this year, until his last

:49:26. > :49:31.race, to get down into decent times. That is young Jake Wightman. I am

:49:31. > :49:40.sure he will be a bit nervous. Charlie Grice is one of our top

:49:40. > :49:45.young talents. James Brewer and Lee Emanuel. This rate is full of great

:49:45. > :49:51.tradition and history. I have to say I think we are making history here.

:49:51. > :50:00.I have never seen a one-mile race with two start lines. They do it for

:50:00. > :50:04.the other long-distance runs. 20 athletes in this. Six or seven of

:50:04. > :50:12.them have to run on the outside of this bend and then break. I hope

:50:12. > :50:16.they break in the right place! hope they have been briefed, because

:50:16. > :50:20.they won't know the rules. I have never seen this before, with the

:50:20. > :50:24.break. For the 61st run of the Games, 20 winners in this race,

:50:24. > :50:30.there is too many. The only salvation is at the pacemaker can go

:50:30. > :50:34.at such a pace and the rest of the field follow him. Look at it, it

:50:34. > :50:39.looks like a 10,000-metre race, they are spread across the track and had

:50:39. > :50:44.only just done 300 metres. We have got a good feel of this famous

:50:44. > :50:51.running event. This was the race in 1977, this was Seb Coe's

:50:51. > :51:01.breakthrough race. He won the Emsley Carr Mile, the beginning of a career

:51:01. > :51:11.finally ending up doing the organising for the Olympics. And a

:51:11. > :51:16.

:51:16. > :51:26.suitably fast first lap, 54 .7 for the pacemaker. Collins and Cheboi

:51:26. > :51:27.

:51:27. > :51:37.are also quite close. The canyon is further back in the middle of the

:51:37. > :51:37.

:51:37. > :51:42.pack. He ran very well in America. They are attacking, Miller is going

:51:42. > :51:48.to pick it up. They wanted 1.53 or thereabouts and I think they will be

:51:48. > :51:54.boasted that at 800. The field really has followed. When the big

:51:54. > :52:03.athletes go up, you know the rest of the field have got no choice but to

:52:03. > :52:09.follow. Here we are. Bram Som is doing extremely well there. A solid

:52:09. > :52:15.pace is being delivered. We will get some good times here. There is more

:52:15. > :52:18.than one race here. I am just watching Galen Rupp, the training

:52:18. > :52:25.partner of Mo Farah, moving strongly down the back straight into a good

:52:25. > :52:29.position. Some good opportunities for British athletes today. There

:52:29. > :52:34.are a queue of them, Charlie Grice towards the back, Lee Emanuel right

:52:34. > :52:40.up to the front in the back of the lead group of eight or nine. This is

:52:40. > :52:48.the interesting part of the race, because Souleiman and colleagues in

:52:49. > :52:58.their -- and Collins in that. And various Augustine Kiprono Choge, in

:52:58. > :53:02.the front. This is the Commonwealth 5,000-metre champion from 2006.

:53:02. > :53:10.Remember in that race, Mo Farah was ninth. He has come an awful long way

:53:10. > :53:14.since then. Augustine Kiprono Choge has not comes quite so far. These

:53:14. > :53:19.athletes are running extremely strongly down the back straight. It

:53:19. > :53:25.is going to be a competitive race. Souleiman is an athlete with a lot

:53:25. > :53:35.of potential. They both look a bit tired. Coleman still has half a

:53:35. > :53:40.

:53:40. > :53:45.chance. August in Jodie -- Augustine Kiprono Choge is being chased down

:53:45. > :53:53.hard by Souleiman. It is going to be tight and will he get their? Yes, he

:53:53. > :53:57.does! Souleiman takes second place. The winning time is 3.50. A lot of

:53:57. > :54:01.them are quite a few seconds behind. A great race in the end, a fitting

:54:01. > :54:08.race for the Emsley Carr Mile. It is nice to see somebody like Augustine

:54:08. > :54:11.Kiprono Choge, somebody who understands the traditions of the

:54:11. > :54:17.distance running, and he has won it on two occasions, and not many

:54:17. > :54:21.people have done that. A lot of great athletes have won this one in

:54:21. > :54:24.the past. This was the springboard for Sebastian Coe and he will have

:54:24. > :54:28.enjoyed watching this before it comes down to the track for a

:54:28. > :54:32.special presentation in a few minutes. Augustine Kiprono Choge, an

:54:32. > :54:36.athlete who has never been sure of his best distance. I always felt he

:54:36. > :54:41.should have stayed around the 5000 metres, but he won the Commonwealth

:54:41. > :54:45.and beat Mo Farah into ninth place. Here he comes in the 1500 metres,

:54:45. > :54:55.strong in the finishing straight. Souleiman of Djibouti really

:54:55. > :55:00.finishes calmly. He left a little bit too much to do, but Augustine

:55:00. > :55:10.Kiprono Choge wins the Emsley Carr Mile, the 61st winning of the Emsley

:55:10. > :55:15.

:55:15. > :55:18.Carr Mile. Souleiman will see an awful lot from him in a few weeks.

:55:18. > :55:28.His prizes to turn straight round and walk at the home straight to

:55:28. > :55:38.

:55:38. > :55:48.meet Sebastian Coe, who was there to maintained in a race which has stood

:55:48. > :55:50.

:55:50. > :55:53.the test of time over the years. Sebastian Coe won it in 1977.

:55:53. > :56:03.Augustine Kiprono Choge, our winner Augustine Kiprono Choge, our winner

:56:03. > :56:22.

:56:22. > :56:25.came away with Olympic gold last year. He has been dominant this year

:56:25. > :56:32.apart from one competition, and that it is first entry, his first

:56:32. > :56:41.Voltaire. 5.70, and flew over. Luke Cutts of Great Britain, he is still

:56:41. > :56:51.in there. He has had one failure at this height. 5.74 a first attempt,

:56:51. > :56:55.

:56:55. > :56:59.that is how good this guy is. A metres. The young lady in Burgundy,

:56:59. > :57:05.Allyson Felix, is the one that everybody is looking at at this

:57:05. > :57:08.moment in time. Allyson Felix has not been running the greatest

:57:08. > :57:12.200-metre races recently, but we know what she is capable of. She

:57:12. > :57:18.became the Olympic champion on this very track last year. There is no

:57:18. > :57:22.wind at this time, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that we see a

:57:22. > :57:32.swift 200 metres. We have already seen how fast the 100 metres women

:57:32. > :57:39.

:57:39. > :57:45.are going, so these women want to good afternoon's athletics, and the

:57:45. > :57:50.standard of some of the events has been better than some of yesterday.

:57:50. > :57:59.We have got a great winning's 100-metre final to come. This

:57:59. > :58:09.200-metre race is packed with talent. An interesting opportunity

:58:09. > :58:11.

:58:11. > :58:21.for the likes of Anyika Onuora. She is on scintillating form. We have

:58:21. > :58:30.

:58:30. > :58:34.got Ana Claudia Lemos Silva on the inside, and various Deedee Trotter

:58:34. > :58:38.on the outside. I am told that she is becoming disillusioned with the

:58:38. > :58:42.400 metres and has decided that she is going to turn her attention to

:58:42. > :58:48.the 200 metres. She is 30 years of age and that is an odd point in your

:58:48. > :58:57.career to do that, but that is what we are told. Anneisha McLaughlin is

:58:57. > :58:59.a former youth champion. She is on reasonable form. This is a great

:58:59. > :59:09.young talent, the double world junior sprint champion last year,

:59:09. > :59:10.

:59:10. > :59:17.just 19 years old, 22.32 already this year. And there is Allyson

:59:17. > :59:22.Felix, and as Colin was saying, at a great start to the season, she has

:59:22. > :59:26.really struggled to find her best form. She is not running the 400

:59:26. > :59:32.metres in the World Championships. She was in the relay at Monaco last

:59:32. > :59:40.week. Shalonda Solomon, former US champion at this event. Also former

:59:40. > :59:47.junior champion. Anyika Onuora is having a brilliant year this year,

:59:47. > :59:51.including the 400 metres. This is the event which she enjoys the most.

:59:51. > :59:56.She has been doing well at the 100 metres as well. She has a good lane

:59:56. > :00:06.at lane four. Lashauntea Moore, another former youth world champion,

:00:06. > :00:14.

:00:14. > :00:24.now 29 years old. Jodie Williams is still just 19 years of age. Another

:00:24. > :00:24.

:00:24. > :00:32.great talent. Ana Claudia Lemos Silva, from Brazil, she is in lane

:00:32. > :00:36.one. Nine athletes in this. The wind has been interesting, and Colin

:00:36. > :00:41.might have a better idea down there. He said the wind was in their faces

:00:41. > :00:49.for the 200 metres. It has been swirling around a little bit. Not

:00:49. > :00:53.just too much wind, just a breeze. The winning's 200 metres here, how

:00:53. > :00:56.good is Allyson Felix? What sort of form is she on? She has not raced

:00:56. > :01:06.this event since the American Championships. She finished second

:01:06. > :01:14.

:01:14. > :01:19.there. Pretty even start, and a good one from Allyson Felix. Shalonda

:01:19. > :01:24.Solomon is going well. But it is Allyson Felix who will lead them

:01:24. > :01:27.into the home straight. Anneisha McLaughlin is there. Allyson Felix

:01:27. > :01:33.is starting to struggle. Shalonda Solomon is coming at her. She will

:01:33. > :01:38.have to fight to hang onto this. 22.42. To me, that looked like too

:01:38. > :01:43.much hard work for Allyson Felix. The old Allyson Felix would have

:01:43. > :01:46.glided through that last 50 metres and pulled away. Just for a moment,

:01:46. > :01:53.about 30 from the line, you just thought that Shalonda Solomon might

:01:53. > :02:00.catch, but she took the win. There was a slight headwind in the home

:02:00. > :02:04.straight. Shalonda Solomon takes second place. Colin, you are a big

:02:04. > :02:11.fan of Allyson Felix. She still doesn't look to be on top form to

:02:11. > :02:17.me. I would really worry for Allyson Felix if we didn't know that her

:02:17. > :02:21.coach is great. It would be interesting to see what Alison

:02:21. > :02:28.thinks of this race. We will be able to talk to her later. She was wide

:02:28. > :02:32.around the bend and did not her get as well as we know she can do.

:02:32. > :02:38.this point, we expected her to ease away from the field, but it was a

:02:38. > :02:45.struggle for her to take this victory today. It was a relatively

:02:45. > :02:49.slow time of 22.41. We don't not -- know what kind of work she is doing

:02:49. > :02:59.at the moment. She may still be relying on her endurance and she has

:02:59. > :03:02.

:03:02. > :03:10.been working on earlier this year. Perhaps we will see her reach that

:03:10. > :03:14.magical 22 second barrier. She looks like she is working harder than we

:03:14. > :03:18.expect of her. But this is an Olympic champion, a world champion,

:03:18. > :03:28.and I am pretty sure, when the time comes, she will get it right and the

:03:28. > :03:35.

:03:35. > :03:40.liver. -- and deliver. Let's hear this stadium last year. It was be a

:03:40. > :03:45.great feeling to come back. It has been so special and I am happy to be

:03:45. > :03:48.back. Tell me about the race and where you feel you are right now.

:03:48. > :03:52.Just final preparations. Last year was a long year, and I am taking it

:03:52. > :03:59.slowly this year. I have some more work to do. What has been the

:03:59. > :04:03.general game plan? I have been training for this year and taking it

:04:03. > :04:11.slowly, making sure my body is OK. This is the last race before

:04:11. > :04:14.Moscow? Yes, the last one.We wish you well in Moscow. Thank you very

:04:14. > :04:24.much. much.

:04:24. > :04:36.

:04:36. > :04:41.for her second competition of the afternoon. She is taking part in the

:04:41. > :04:44.long jump, trying to duplicate the start of the heptathlon where this

:04:44. > :04:54.time last year she was looking forward to make glorious couple of

:04:54. > :04:57.

:04:57. > :05:05.days. 6.29 with a slightly battered left ankle last weekend. We will see

:05:05. > :05:14.her a bit later on in the long jump competition. And we will see Mo

:05:14. > :05:18.Farah later on as well in the 3000 metres. We are counting down to Mo

:05:18. > :05:22.Farah coming back out on the track. He was out here earlier and had a

:05:22. > :05:27.great reception. We have been reliving some of the great moments

:05:27. > :05:31.of London 2012 this afternoon. Eton Dorney was a rich source for hours.

:05:31. > :05:41.We had eight medals in total, and four of them were gold. Let's go

:05:41. > :05:49.

:05:49. > :05:55.room I could pull story -- a remarkable story. This is going to

:05:55. > :06:05.be about the snow for great written! -- about goats now for

:06:05. > :06:21.

:06:21. > :06:30.the line. They are making history here! They have been glorious here

:06:30. > :06:38.this morning. These are Olympic champions. We have done it! We have

:06:38. > :06:46.done it! We have done it in style! What we are seeing right now is a

:06:46. > :06:54.dream come true. And Katherine Grainger is alongside

:06:54. > :06:59.the NAB, the epitome of try, try, and try again. Can you believe it is

:06:59. > :07:05.one year ago? Know, people kept saying, you must do something for

:07:05. > :07:10.the anniversary. It is unbelievable. We have been watching BBC One all

:07:10. > :07:13.day today. You are looking at what to do next, whether you should stay

:07:13. > :07:17.with the programme and go to Rio. You have been talking to other

:07:17. > :07:23.Olympians about retirement and whether or not it is the right thing

:07:23. > :07:27.for you. At you made up your mind? No. I had about two hours ago, but I

:07:27. > :07:34.am not sure now. When you come back and see all the magic here, you

:07:34. > :07:41.speak to anybody, everybody is reeling last year. It was the most

:07:41. > :07:48.incredible summer. This hasn't helped. You get the bus back and the

:07:48. > :07:52.magic. The amazing thing is, everything is that ever since people

:07:52. > :07:56.have been funded, careers are lasting longer. You don't have to

:07:56. > :08:01.stop and cause of money. We are very well looked after physically and

:08:01. > :08:06.mentally. It is an option to go on, not quite for ever, but until you

:08:06. > :08:10.start losing. I have been told by experts that my body is still

:08:10. > :08:15.willing. I think the crunch is the mind, because you need to have the

:08:15. > :08:19.hunger and the drive. This all looks incredible. Everyone would take

:08:19. > :08:26.this, if you were offered it. The reality of the day-to-day brutality

:08:26. > :08:30.of training, testing and trialling, you don't always have thousands of

:08:30. > :08:33.people supporting you. In the middle of winter you on your own trying to

:08:33. > :08:39.get it right. If you can buy into that, you can go in. You are smiling

:08:39. > :08:42.as if it is a thought process you know. Yes, I used to call it the

:08:42. > :08:48.bubble, when you are in the training environment and you are locked down

:08:48. > :08:53.in hard training. Sometimes it gets hard. Sometimes it might be nice to

:08:53. > :08:58.have a normal life. And then injury comes along and you experience

:08:58. > :09:01.normal life for a bit. Then you just want to go back. A lot of the times,

:09:01. > :09:06.the mind is willing for a long time and the body is not willing any

:09:06. > :09:14.more, and that is when it is time. But if the body is willing, I would

:09:14. > :09:17.say stay with it! The 3000 metres steeplechase is just

:09:17. > :09:21.heading off there. We will come back to that in a moment. While we still

:09:21. > :09:27.had you here, we have been talking for the last couple of days about

:09:27. > :09:30.the longer lasting effects of the incredibly stressful -- successful

:09:30. > :09:34.summer. Ireland are hearing that within weeks of the Olympics, rowing

:09:34. > :09:41.clubs were turning people away. They could not cope with demand. Is that

:09:41. > :09:46.still the case? What has been incredible is that every sport felt

:09:46. > :09:50.the impact of 2012. Everyone I have spoken to in various sports have

:09:50. > :09:54.seen a huge effect, people coming in and trying out for the first time.

:09:54. > :09:58.And what is great is that we have experienced the worst winter

:09:58. > :10:03.possible for outdoor sports. People have stuck at it and are still at

:10:03. > :10:09.it. Now we have got to the summer, it is a lovely time to be outside.

:10:09. > :10:19.As far as rowing is concerned, it is booming. And again, Iraq's act -- I

:10:19. > :10:25.

:10:25. > :10:29.expect that increases your MPs yet. -- your enthusiast. When it becomes

:10:29. > :10:34.more mainstream, that must be satisfying. Yes, and we saw with

:10:34. > :10:40.Steve Redgrave, someone he kept the sport in the public eye and has been

:10:40. > :10:44.successful when a lot of the -- a lot of other sports won't. We have

:10:44. > :10:52.always had a certain level of attention because of him. Since

:10:52. > :10:55.then, the sport has blossomed. Everyone has taken part and been

:10:55. > :11:00.successful, and it is special to be part of a sport which has been

:11:00. > :11:04.inspirational to so many people. Thank you for keeping to inspire

:11:04. > :11:10.others. It is great to talk to you. Whichever way you decide to go and I

:11:10. > :11:20.am sure you will have success. At you qualified in forensics science?

:11:20. > :11:28.

:11:28. > :11:31.I have just got my Ph.D. In criminal all. It the leading group there. It

:11:31. > :11:41.is only Matt Hughes, the Canadian, who is trying to break up the East

:11:41. > :11:48.

:11:48. > :11:52.Ackford in agony. -- the East African hegemony. This is what we

:11:52. > :11:55.expected to see, the Kenyans dominating. It is a Kenyan pack

:11:55. > :11:58.year, none of whom are going to the world Championships because of what

:11:58. > :12:03.we talked about, the Kenyan federation has brought their

:12:03. > :12:07.athletes back. Those who are going to the World Championships are not

:12:07. > :12:14.allowed to race here. It is the best of the rest, but in Kenyan terms,

:12:14. > :12:19.that is good. This is the event that, for some reason, there are

:12:19. > :12:24.lots of theories about it, that they have dominated more than any other.

:12:24. > :12:28.The first 1000 metres has been completed in 2.40. That is the

:12:28. > :12:37.fastest we have ever seen people attack this race. Really, when you

:12:37. > :12:42.think it is the best -- the second best Kenyan here we call the best of

:12:42. > :12:48.the race... There are two Mac races here today. The British athletes, we

:12:48. > :12:54.will have to keep a close watch on them. James Wilkinson is amongst the

:12:54. > :13:04.British athletes. He is looking for a good time. They are running an

:13:04. > :13:09.

:13:09. > :13:12.eight minute pace. He is aiming for first kilometre, 2.36 is the world

:13:12. > :13:20.record set by Saif Saaeed Shaheen. He is another Kenyan. The pedigree

:13:20. > :13:30.in here, we talked about the fact that the world champion -- World

:13:30. > :13:31.

:13:31. > :13:41.Championship entrants are not here from Kenya. Haron Lagat has been

:14:03. > :14:07.Mark Draper, those British athletes record, eight minutes and eight

:14:07. > :14:13.seconds. Keep an eye on that will stop at the moment they are heading

:14:13. > :14:17.for a good time. The pacemaker is doing a good job. Because there are

:14:17. > :14:26.three athletes leading the race, there will be a good pace when the

:14:26. > :14:34.pacemaker drops out. Brimin Kiprop Kipruto, world champion in 2008,

:14:34. > :14:37.Olympic champion in 2007, world champion. He was a second in 2011 in

:14:37. > :14:43.the World Championships. He was only fifth in the Olympic Games here last

:14:44. > :14:53.year. He was fully expected to be selected for the World

:14:53. > :14:56.Championships. He has come here on the European circuit. He has taken

:14:56. > :14:59.the opportunity today to try to show us that he should have been in the

:14:59. > :15:04.World Championships. He moves on to the outside in the yellow vests, the

:15:04. > :15:11.tall figure of women Kiprop Kipruto. He is clearly on good form, third

:15:11. > :15:19.place in the trials. They are coming down with two laps to go in an's

:15:19. > :15:27.steeplechase the familiar sight for Kenya, one, two, three. You have to

:15:27. > :15:37.work hard at this event. James Wilkinson is coming up with two laps

:15:37. > :15:56.

:15:56. > :16:03.to go. 6.21 with two laps to go. He Hit at the British title from Luke

:16:03. > :16:09.Gunn. These canyons - might these Kenyans if they were at the World

:16:09. > :16:18.Championships at would be in the running for the medals. They are

:16:18. > :16:27.running for the medals. They are going to set up very fast time.

:16:27. > :16:33.This could be a very fast time here today. There is one lap to go. It

:16:33. > :16:39.is just short of 400 metres so we could be looking at a UK all-comers

:16:39. > :16:43.record. Gilbert Kirui hits the front now. He is running strongly.

:16:43. > :16:47.He moves to the outside. The one thing we are going to get for

:16:47. > :16:52.certain here today to real race down the back straight. The barrier

:16:52. > :16:59.in the back straight often split the men from the boys. Watch them

:16:59. > :17:03.as they approach the water jump will still --. Gilbert Kirui is

:17:03. > :17:12.still leading. There they go straight over the water and under

:17:12. > :17:18.the track -- on to the stack. Gilbert Kirui is the youngest of

:17:18. > :17:22.the Kenyans. He is 19 and holding off the more experienced man.

:17:23. > :17:27.Brimin Kiprop Kipruto is going to get there. He takes it on the line.

:17:27. > :17:31.He takes the victory, some redemption for being hard done by

:17:31. > :17:37.in the final of the Olympics last year. Little can make up for that

:17:37. > :17:42.but that time is a UK all-comers record. Brimin Kiprop Kipruto has

:17:42. > :17:47.the victory. What a race! It was a great race and a competitive race.

:17:47. > :17:50.This is a man who was good enough to be selected for the Kenyan team

:17:50. > :17:54.for the World Championships but for some reason he finished third in

:17:54. > :17:58.the trials and he is on the former world champion and a former Olympic

:17:58. > :18:04.champion and is said he could not go so he said he would come to

:18:04. > :18:10.Europe. Here is James Wilkinson finishing slowly there. That is

:18:10. > :18:12.disappointment over the last couple of laps. We saw a very good race

:18:12. > :18:17.that. Disappointment for James Wilkinson and back to the drawing

:18:17. > :18:22.board with a couple of weeks to go. In Brimin Kiprop Kipruto we saw an

:18:22. > :18:26.athlete who came here to prove a point and he certainly did prove it.

:18:26. > :18:31.It was an all-comers record. We have seen some great steeplechases

:18:31. > :18:35.in Britain that he did out he showed us. Gilbert Kirui came into

:18:35. > :18:40.the water with other former Olympic champion behind him. Do not touch

:18:40. > :18:45.the barrier, on to the straight and he kicked into the straight and he

:18:45. > :18:50.was running powerfully but Brimin Kiprop Kipruto was biding his time.

:18:50. > :18:54.The last hurdle approaching and now we get a real race. Here a comes

:18:54. > :18:58.and he is strong enough and he is good enough of. The Kenyan

:18:58. > :19:04.selectors will hear the message, I should have been in Moscow

:19:04. > :19:08.representing Kenya. I think that is probably right. It was a very good

:19:08. > :19:11.performance from Gilbert Kirui but Brimin Kiprop Kipruto showed the

:19:11. > :19:15.experience, former world champion and a former Olympic champion and a

:19:15. > :19:19.man who has distinguished themselves over many years. He came

:19:19. > :19:23.here to a record crowd for a track meeting Great Britain and he came

:19:23. > :19:29.into the finishing straight with so much power and experience and he

:19:29. > :19:35.just did enough. A UK all-comers record of. Well done.

:19:35. > :19:38.embarrassment of riches in this event for the Kenyans. This man was

:19:38. > :19:46.just one hundredth of a second outside the world record a year ago

:19:46. > :19:52.and now he has got the all-comers UK record. He could have been in

:19:52. > :19:55.the world championships if it were not all of the other Kenyans. They

:19:55. > :19:58.roar all in this event. Disappointing for James Wilkinson

:19:58. > :20:07.who is going to the World Championships by he will struggle

:20:07. > :20:13.to make a final. The long jumpers are just being

:20:13. > :20:17.introduced to the crowd. Listen to the roar for our golden girl from

:20:17. > :20:22.Super Saturday last year. A chance for the crowd to see the Olympic

:20:22. > :20:27.heptathlon champion in action. It looks solid enough. It looks about

:20:27. > :20:33.the same figure she jumped at the Loughborough last week. 6.29 or

:20:33. > :20:41.thereabouts. She has a lifetime best of 6.51. She jumped that

:20:41. > :20:46.during the heptathlon magical today heptathlon last year. She also did

:20:46. > :20:56.in 2010 and 2011 as well. The most important thing for her is to come

:20:56. > :21:00.away from this stadium in one piece. Her coach is animated as always.

:21:00. > :21:05.Jessica Ennis-Hill, 6th 0.13 in the first round. She will be looking

:21:05. > :21:13.for more than that to establish itself as one of the favourites for

:21:13. > :21:23.the World Championship heptathlon title. -- 6.13. Luke Cutts has a

:21:23. > :21:27.chance to move up. He get said. That is brilliant. I just wonder if

:21:27. > :21:33.the British selectors might consider adding his name to the

:21:33. > :21:42.left of the British team which will be going to Moscow. That equals the

:21:42. > :21:45.a standard. He beat Steve Lewis the number one for Britain in the

:21:45. > :21:50.trials. Christina Obergfoll is the class

:21:50. > :22:00.act in the women's javelin in the first round. She has the leading

:22:00. > :22:01.

:22:01. > :22:07.throw so far. The leading throat so far is by Kimberley Mickle of

:22:07. > :22:12.Australia. She jams on the brakes just in time. It was flying. That

:22:12. > :22:22.is the first throw we have seen beyond the 65-metre line. She is

:22:22. > :22:37.

:22:37. > :22:47.very six -- she is very consistent She of second in the world rankings

:22:47. > :22:51.

:22:51. > :22:55.to wry about come over. -- Mariya This is Christine Ohuruogu. The

:22:55. > :23:00.last time we saw her in the diamond lead she had a great victory. The

:23:00. > :23:05.length -- the young lady in fighter in lane three, Natasha Hastings, is

:23:05. > :23:09.the United States champion and will the United States champion and will

:23:10. > :23:16.be going to Moscow as the favourite in that event. This is a tough race

:23:16. > :23:26.for Christine so let us see how she handles it.

:23:26. > :23:36.

:23:36. > :23:46.Thank you very much, Colin. This is Eilidh Child running a flat 400 as

:23:46. > :23:49.

:23:49. > :23:53.well here. That is Margaret a-day Lea who has been added to the squad.

:23:53. > :24:00.She is having an experiment to a deal with the 400 which has gone

:24:00. > :24:04.very well. Jessica Beard was 5th in the American championships. She ran

:24:04. > :24:10.in the last world championships but it will not be the case this time.

:24:10. > :24:13.We think she will be part of the relay squad. Natasha Hastings is

:24:13. > :24:17.the American champion but has only run under 50 seconds once this year.

:24:17. > :24:22.You could argue that is good enough. Christine only runs under 50

:24:22. > :24:32.seconds when she is trying to win medals. What does she have in store

:24:32. > :24:33.

:24:33. > :24:40.for the home crowd here today? So close to defending her title here

:24:40. > :24:43.in a London. A very close race with Sanya Richards-Ross. Francena

:24:43. > :24:51.McCorory is having a very good year and coming into form at the right

:24:51. > :24:54.time. She was third in Monaco. Amantle Montsho is the one who is

:24:54. > :25:01.top of the world this year and the one they all have to meet but she

:25:01. > :25:07.is not here. Rosemarie Whyte also raised in Monaco. Christine Day is

:25:07. > :25:12.part of the Jamaica much team. She was the leader of when they won the

:25:12. > :25:22.bronze medal in the relay. Chana Cox has struggled to find her best

:25:22. > :25:29.

:25:29. > :25:39.form this year. She will be a member of the fall by four squad.

:25:39. > :25:45.Eilidh Child has gone cricket in doors. So far outdoors her best is

:25:45. > :25:49.without the hurdles and she has every chance of going quickly today.

:25:49. > :25:53.Will Christine Ohuruogu bring her a game? She has been running

:25:53. > :25:58.consistently well all year and she has started the season well and she

:25:58. > :26:02.has probably had as many races as I have ever seen her run in any one

:26:02. > :26:12.season. Is she rounding into the right sort of form for the World

:26:12. > :26:23.

:26:23. > :26:28.Championships? This will be a big rise. Natasha Hastings going very

:26:28. > :26:33.fast. She has taken several yards out of Christine Ohuruogu. Eilidh

:26:33. > :26:38.Child also has started quickly as you would want her to. Not too much

:26:38. > :26:43.to choose between them through this first 200 metres. It could be that

:26:43. > :26:46.Natasha Hastings have the advantage. Rosemarie Whyte is going well.

:26:46. > :26:50.Christine Ohorogu was very much in it and the crowd know it and they

:26:50. > :26:55.are giving their a lot of encouragement. She is very strong

:26:55. > :26:59.in the home straight. What is this going to say? She has got a metre.

:26:59. > :27:03.Natasha Hastings tried to get on terms. Christine Ohorogu was

:27:03. > :27:10.straighten it out. This is her part of the race at her home patch. She

:27:10. > :27:16.takes the winner. 50.02. It is not the championship so she will not

:27:16. > :27:19.run under 50 seconds but it was very close. A great win for

:27:19. > :27:24.Christine Ohuruogu. Great encouragement and great timing.

:27:24. > :27:30.That was as good as we have seen all year from her. It has been

:27:30. > :27:34.rounded down to 50 seconds flat. It is of course her fees and best. It

:27:34. > :27:44.is almost at her very best. A well- judged race and a really good

:27:44. > :27:50.finish. Here is Jessica Ennis-Hill. It is her second round. 6.30 in the

:27:50. > :27:58.first round. A little wry smile on the face of the golden goal from 12

:27:58. > :28:01.months ago. Interesting Lee Katarina Johnson-Thompson, hair

:28:01. > :28:07.interesting at -- her British team- mate in this competition who

:28:07. > :28:17.recently won the European junior heptathlon championship started off

:28:17. > :28:18.

:28:18. > :28:28.with at 6.13. I beg your pardon, the European Under 23 championships.

:28:28. > :28:28.

:28:28. > :28:32.That is a slight improvement. that was a really well-judged race

:28:32. > :28:36.for Christine Ohuruogu. She really wanted to do that. Are meant so

:28:36. > :28:40.much to have. You talk about legacy. She really enjoyed the Olympic

:28:41. > :28:46.Games so much and she is worth a lot in this area to make sure that

:28:46. > :28:51.the legacy is being driven through. She can make sure that she is an

:28:51. > :28:55.inspiration again. It is her best race of the year undoubtedly. It

:28:55. > :28:59.augurs so well for the championships coming up and she has

:28:59. > :29:09.beaten some good athletes here who would be contenders as well. She

:29:09. > :29:13.held them off well in the home straight, as we expected her to.

:29:13. > :29:17.Christine is here alongside me and just getting her breast back. Thank

:29:17. > :29:21.you very much for talking to have so quickly after the race. I see

:29:21. > :29:24.your time on the board is 50 flat. Look at the names you have beaten

:29:24. > :29:29.who will be world championship contenders, that must give you a

:29:29. > :29:32.great sense of satisfaction. does. I never want to lose on home

:29:32. > :29:37.ground. It is about putting a race together and coming out and giving

:29:37. > :29:40.a good performance for the home crowd. Obviously you are our very

:29:40. > :29:44.local girl, from just down the road and the reception was spine-

:29:44. > :29:48.tingling. He really was, I thought I cannot lose now after that.

:29:49. > :29:52.you didn't! You like to execute your race and examine what you did

:29:52. > :29:58.them but that was pretty much to perfection, wasn't he? Yes, a win

:29:58. > :30:02.is a win but this is not where returns for us so I will go back

:30:03. > :30:09.and just tinker with it a little bet. That is great, you gave the

:30:09. > :30:19.crowd a wonderful performance and all of us at home watching as well.

:30:19. > :30:23.

:30:23. > :30:26.Thank you. Well, a season's best for Christine and also for Chana

:30:26. > :30:31.Cox. A personal best for Eilidh Child, not as quick as you run

:30:31. > :30:33.indoors but a good run from there. And really good winner from

:30:33. > :30:38.And really good winner from Christine Ohorogu.

:30:38. > :30:41.She is incredible. She times have seasons to perfection. Issue

:30:41. > :30:46.another of those... I don't know, Mo was getting a lot of adulation

:30:46. > :30:50.later but do we appreciate Christina Corrigan a enough because

:30:50. > :30:54.she does not do it for the glamour but she waits for the big

:30:54. > :30:58.championships. -- Christine Ohuruogu. Yes, she definitely rises

:30:58. > :31:03.to the big occasion. Some people when the pressure is on they will

:31:03. > :31:06.rise or they will drop but she always comes up. Here today, she is

:31:06. > :31:12.only five minutes from home and you know that she wants to perform well

:31:12. > :31:17.and do well here in front of her home crowd. She is running a one-

:31:17. > :31:23.woman legacy campaign and she made her desire to go out to every

:31:23. > :31:27.school in Harrow Borough and take an Olympic story to one of those

:31:27. > :31:32.children so she's So wonderful person. The borough of Newham, she

:31:32. > :31:36.is a local girl and this is an aerial shot here. This is the

:31:36. > :31:46.velodrome where we saw so many magical moments 12 months ago in

:31:46. > :31:46.

:31:46. > :32:41.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 41 seconds

:32:41. > :32:49.blisteringly quick move. A stunning Rina -- a stunning ride! Great

:32:49. > :32:57.Britain have won the gold metal -- medal! Victoria Pendleton takes the

:32:57. > :33:01.gold medal! She is on fire! Heroes were made in that velodrome.

:33:01. > :33:11.Sir Chris Hoy became the most decorated Olympian of all time.

:33:11. > :33:12.

:33:12. > :33:20.Sarah's story became when she pulled Tanni Grey-Thompson's record.

:33:20. > :33:30.Congratulations to her. On the 4th of August, there is a great cycling

:33:30. > :34:07.

:34:07. > :34:17.event, ride London which you can gold! He is making it two gold

:34:17. > :34:21.

:34:21. > :34:25.medals for Britain! He is a double Olympic champion.

:34:25. > :34:33.It is almost Mo Farah time. We have less than half an hour until he

:34:33. > :34:36.comes back on the track here. Dave Moorcroft currently holds the

:34:36. > :34:43.3,000-metre record. We'll Mo Farah get another British record to date?

:34:43. > :34:47.Wind is picking up, but it is not as hot as it was earlier on, when it

:34:47. > :34:52.was about 30 degrees down on the track. He might not want to give an

:34:52. > :34:56.all-out effort is close to Moscow. But he is a showman and he is

:34:56. > :35:06.getting adulation here. Yes, but he can be a showman in the last lap,

:35:06. > :35:07.

:35:07. > :35:17.raising the pace. He could get close to 62. It is time for the men's

:35:17. > :35:27.

:35:27. > :35:37.It is no mean feat for Aries Merritt to come back from a hamstring injury

:35:37. > :35:46.and become the favourite, which he is. David Oliver, another American

:35:46. > :35:53.who is strong indeed. Jeff Porter, the husband of Tiffany Porter, he

:35:53. > :36:00.won in the 100 metres hurdles. He sneaks through. Dwight Thomas is

:36:00. > :36:07.getting on a bit now at 32, a good man on the flat. He was Jamaica's

:36:07. > :36:17.number one sprinter. But then, of course, you know who came on the

:36:17. > :36:18.

:36:18. > :36:23.scene. And various William Sharman, a man who has come close in major

:36:23. > :36:33.championships in 2009 and 2011. But here is the main man, Aries

:36:33. > :36:38.

:36:38. > :36:42.Merritt. Coming into form at the right time. Thomas

:36:42. > :36:48.Martinot-Lagarde, the French champion, and his brother Pascal is

:36:48. > :36:53.perhaps a little better at the moment. There is David Oliver, won

:36:53. > :37:03.his heat by a distance after Orlando Ortega fell. He was second in the US

:37:03. > :37:04.

:37:04. > :37:10.Championships. The Polish champion, Artur Noga, third in the Diamond

:37:10. > :37:16.League meeting in Birmingham. And various Ryan Wilson, finally became

:37:16. > :37:21.US champion last month at the age of 32. Disappointing in the heats,

:37:21. > :37:29.which is why he is in lane nine. It is sometimes not a bad thing for a

:37:29. > :37:33.hurdler to be out there with freedom on one side. There will be anxious

:37:33. > :37:42.moments now for Aries Merritt, because he wants to run very

:37:42. > :37:48.quickly. And David Oliver is the fastest in the world. Aries Merritt

:37:48. > :37:55.ran in the US Championships at one week of training and finished third

:37:55. > :37:59.there. That shows his pedigree. The race was won by Ryan Wilson. David

:37:59. > :38:05.Oliver was second. A strong American presence here. Can William Sharman

:38:05. > :38:15.keep pace and get in amongst them? Aries Merritt is right alongside him

:38:15. > :38:19.

:38:19. > :38:24.for William Sharman, who rises first. Here comes Aries Merritt, and

:38:25. > :38:30.there he goes, he is down! Can William Sharman hold on for the

:38:31. > :38:38.victory! Coming through to take it is David Oliver. He celebrates. He

:38:38. > :38:46.has the victory. Aries Merritt is pushing his way rather forlornly to

:38:46. > :38:54.the finish. He is OK. But his pride is hurt more than anything else. He

:38:54. > :39:00.gingerly stepped forward. A good run from William Sharman. David

:39:00. > :39:10.Oliver's class showed at the end. Eight good personal best for William

:39:10. > :39:16.Sharman at 13.26. I was having it its conversation earlier with Andy

:39:16. > :39:19.Turner and said that, because Aries Merritt is chasing a fast time, may

:39:19. > :39:24.stress himself and beat himself by making a mistake. He was running

:39:24. > :39:31.well at this stage, but then clattered with his tail leg and then

:39:32. > :39:38.could not control it. David Oliver, in contrast, powered his way through

:39:38. > :39:44.to take victory from William Sharman. He is very good technically

:39:44. > :39:48.and at the back end of the race he is virtually flawless. You can

:39:48. > :39:52.guarantee he will keep the pressure on the top layers in the world. Even

:39:52. > :40:02.David Oliver was surprised to see how William Sharman pushed into the

:40:02. > :40:04.

:40:05. > :40:09.line. When you sky hurdle, it means that you go a bit higher and it

:40:09. > :40:14.pushes further across, which means the next barrier you can into makes

:40:14. > :40:24.it a lot closer, and that is what happens when you are out of rhythm.

:40:24. > :40:33.

:40:33. > :40:43.Unfortunately for Aries Merritt, he A tremendous performance for William

:40:43. > :40:46.

:40:46. > :40:49.Sharman. And Aries Merritt, not your best. What happened out there?

:40:49. > :40:56.feel like I was too close to the first hurdle. This track is very

:40:56. > :41:00.fast and I could not get my tail leg through enough -- fast enough. But I

:41:00. > :41:08.am happy that I am not injured! Everything is fine. I was able to

:41:09. > :41:12.catch myself. Well done. He did well to deep on his feet and not get

:41:12. > :41:19.injured. You have done well to almost take the victory and a good

:41:19. > :41:26.personal best. Congratulations. feels fantastic. Firstly, we have a

:41:26. > :41:29.full stadium and London is buzzing. The stadium is buzzing. 13.2 has

:41:29. > :41:34.been a long time coming for me. Everyone keeps telling me what I am

:41:34. > :41:37.capable of, but I never seem to fulfil my potential. I am one step

:41:37. > :41:42.closer towards it now. I am disappointed that Aries Merritt fell

:41:42. > :41:47.in that race, because he was my direct competition to push against.

:41:47. > :41:52.I lost concentration when he fell. Later down the track, I heard the

:41:52. > :41:57.crowd screaming, which I should have blocked out, but it put me off, and

:41:57. > :42:01.I lost a bit of concentration and focus because of that. So a bit more

:42:01. > :42:08.to come still. That is great to hear. Congratulations. David Oliver,

:42:08. > :42:13.the winner of the race, great to see you back. We know what you did a few

:42:13. > :42:18.years ago. You are getting back to where you want to be. Yes, I have to

:42:18. > :42:23.improve the start of my race. This is the last race before Moscow and

:42:23. > :42:29.it is great to get a Diamond League victory. And maintaining your focus

:42:29. > :42:33.in a race like that with Aries Merritt almost stumbling... Yes,

:42:33. > :42:38.maybe I should be more focused, but you just have to stay in your lane

:42:38. > :42:42.and you can only control your ten hurdles. I did just enough to get

:42:42. > :42:52.the win today. You did indeed. Good the win today. You did indeed. Good

:42:52. > :42:56.

:42:56. > :43:06.An impressive win for David Oliver, but a strong run from William

:43:06. > :43:09.

:43:09. > :43:16.Sharman as well. The second vault in this competition for the Frenchman.

:43:16. > :43:26.Superb! He gave a victory cheer when he was just over the bar. That is 19

:43:26. > :43:50.

:43:50. > :43:56.habitat on champion and also the world junior long jump champion last

:43:56. > :44:00.year. She has not got great horizontal speed. The fact that she

:44:00. > :44:06.is very tall might be quite deceptive, but she's powerful on

:44:06. > :44:14.take-off. She won the world junior title in the long jump, not the

:44:14. > :44:18.heptathlon. She jumped 6.80 to break the British junior record. Almost

:44:18. > :44:27.spot on. Another couple of centimetres and it would have

:44:27. > :44:37.been... And it is 6.4 for again. It maintains a lead in the long jump.

:44:37. > :44:45.

:44:45. > :44:50.spectator now. The Frenchman is on fire! The last 2 megabits to this

:44:50. > :44:53.stadium for the Olympic champion have been wonderful. The result was

:44:53. > :45:01.a gold medal 12 months ago. What could it be this time? Absolutely

:45:02. > :45:10.superb. Will Lavillenie go higher? That is the question everyone is

:45:10. > :45:18.asking. For Jessica Ennis-Hill, it proved 6.16 in the third round. She

:45:18. > :45:28.is through to the final. What can she do? This is unknown territory

:45:28. > :45:33.

:45:33. > :45:36.for Lavillenie. He goes sky-high! Of the goes on a lap of one. That is

:45:36. > :45:41.the sixth highest height ever achieved by a pole-vault. Not a bad

:45:41. > :45:51.high jumper either! Years of diseases coach. And of course,

:45:51. > :45:52.

:45:52. > :45:56.having clear that, you can elect to go even higher. That was superb. If

:45:56. > :46:06.he wasn't the favourite for the world title before this

:46:06. > :46:18.

:46:18. > :46:22.competition, he certainly is now. We have just heard the Renaud

:46:22. > :46:28.Lavillenie is going to attend the record later on. I have got Boris

:46:28. > :46:33.Johnson sat next to me here. He just said he cannot believe how

:46:33. > :46:37.many people are watching athletics. I think it is absolutely incredible

:46:37. > :46:41.how many people have come. It is a massive stadium and we have

:46:41. > :46:47.completely failed it. Last year we had an incredible amount to improve

:46:47. > :46:52.and we proved it. This year it is more relaxed. We are proving

:46:52. > :46:56.something even more important which is that this place has a massive

:46:56. > :46:59.lifetime ahead of it and it is going to be a successful stadium

:46:59. > :47:03.for a long time to come. results yesterday that were

:47:03. > :47:08.released about a legacy is survey showed an 11% increase in adults

:47:08. > :47:11.taking up sport and one of the things we needed was more

:47:11. > :47:17.participation in sport. You watch share of the legacy committee so

:47:17. > :47:21.how are you going to make sure that there is more investment in grass

:47:21. > :47:29.root sports? We are doing a huge amount in London to get people to

:47:29. > :47:39.take up sports. What are you doing? We have got a grassroots legacies

:47:39. > :47:39.

:47:39. > :47:45.bought training programme, led by Kate Hoey. We have got to 19,000

:47:45. > :47:51.people going to swim. They are not pools in the basement of primary

:47:51. > :47:55.schools any more and we have got these beautiful Paul's we are

:47:55. > :48:01.sending out for them. We have got football training and tennis

:48:01. > :48:07.training and ping-pong. Here is a killer statistic. Fines the game's

:48:07. > :48:17.171,000 extra people have taken some sporting of physical exercise

:48:17. > :48:21.in London. -- since the big Games. I cannot hear what you are saying

:48:21. > :48:25.so I am going to say that this was always the most difficult thing to

:48:25. > :48:29.deliver, the sporting legacy. If you look at the economic results

:48:29. > :48:33.that we are having, they are incredible. The transformation of

:48:33. > :48:37.this site is amazing and London is moving to the east at getting

:48:37. > :48:41.people to take up sport was always going to be the big challenge and

:48:41. > :48:48.actually the Government has done very well with either 9,000 a year

:48:48. > :48:52.extra for primary schools. I make no secret about it at that I am

:48:52. > :48:56.hopeless at sport but I am fanatical. I would like to see two

:48:56. > :49:02.hours a day for every person in an ideal world. But how will that

:49:02. > :49:05.happen? It is great to get results at the top level but we need money

:49:05. > :49:10.in coaching and infrastructure and the grass roots. Where will it come

:49:10. > :49:18.from? They will come through the primary school investment that the

:49:18. > :49:26.Government is putting in. There is a grass roots legacy programme. All

:49:26. > :49:30.these people here in the last few days are absolutely passionate

:49:30. > :49:35.volunteers. One of the ways they can give their time is by helping

:49:35. > :49:36.with sports clubs. Where does the money going sport? It goes into

:49:36. > :49:42.people. Hold your thoughts because people. Hold your thoughts because

:49:42. > :49:47.Jessica Ennis-Hill is live. This is the 4th round of the long jump. It

:49:47. > :49:52.was a little bit left than she would have hoped for. The most

:49:52. > :49:57.important thing, I think, as far as everybody is concerned is that she

:49:57. > :50:02.has still in one piece. You may notice if you have been watching

:50:02. > :50:06.all afternoon that the strapping around her left ankle has been

:50:06. > :50:14.reduced slightly. There is still some strapping them but it is a bit

:50:14. > :50:19.less than there was a. Katarina Johnson-Thompson is leading. That

:50:19. > :50:25.is great consistency but we are looking for something in excess of

:50:25. > :50:33.6.44 jazz. Could this be a little bit of history? Look at that figure.

:50:34. > :50:40.This is for a new world record. Well, he wasn't a million miles

:50:40. > :50:47.away but the good news for us is away but the good news for us is

:50:47. > :50:51.that he has two more attempts. Boris was just admiring the

:50:51. > :50:56.technique from Renaud Lavillenie there. They seem to go so slowly.

:50:56. > :51:01.It is like a rocket taking off. am not sure that would be your

:51:01. > :51:09.event. I was not very good at any of this, except, would you believe,

:51:09. > :51:14.sprinting. I was quicker than you would expect. This is the final for

:51:14. > :51:24.the women in 100 metres so we might get down to more with Boris later

:51:24. > :51:27.

:51:27. > :51:34.but we will get this 100 metres and coming down. The breeze has picked

:51:34. > :51:40.up a little bit about what a race that we have in prospect. There

:51:40. > :51:44.were supposed to be eight lining up here but Carmelita Jeter has

:51:44. > :51:49.withdrawn. She was supposed to be in lane four and she will not start

:51:49. > :51:53.but we do not know exactly why. She ran their fees and's best in the

:51:53. > :51:57.heats. She has been struggling this summer with a court problem but it

:51:57. > :52:07.is still a final factor with very high quality and there could be

:52:07. > :52:07.

:52:07. > :52:13.some very quick times. English Gardener is in lane two. She was

:52:13. > :52:23.very impressive this season but in her first race on the UK soil she

:52:23. > :52:34.

:52:34. > :52:42.only ran 11. Ten in the heats and Carmelita Jeter to the gold medal

:52:42. > :52:48.last year. It is Shelly-Ann Fraser- Pryce. She was 10.77 in the heat

:52:48. > :52:52.than she is the quickest in the world this year. Barbara Pierre is

:52:52. > :52:55.a long fight. She is the fastest of all the Americans here but she will

:52:55. > :53:03.not be going to the world championships in the individual 100

:53:03. > :53:08.metres. She was 5th in the US championships. This is Nigeria's

:53:08. > :53:14.Blessing Okagbare. She had an average start but my goodness, how

:53:14. > :53:24.she came through. She beat the African record. Murielle Ahoure of

:53:24. > :53:30.the Ivory Coast. She was third in the second heat. Below 11 seconds.

:53:30. > :53:34.Outside her, Kerron Stewart, the Jamaican champion, silver-medallist

:53:34. > :53:40.in Beijing and the world championships in Berlin a year

:53:40. > :53:46.after that. The umbrella of a up and there is a bit of a breeze

:53:46. > :53:50.flitting about the stadium. No longer ideal conditions for

:53:50. > :54:00.sprinters but what a standard we saw in the heats. English Gardener

:54:00. > :54:25.

:54:25. > :54:33.is in lane two, no Carmelita Jeter. quickly. Barbara Pierre is leading

:54:33. > :54:38.them out. Blessing Okagbare a comes through and take said. Shelly-Ann

:54:38. > :54:43.Fraser-Pryce looked to have third. Again it is legal for Blessing

:54:43. > :54:48.Okagbare and she goes quicker and quicker still. She will be a world-

:54:48. > :54:53.beater and she could even do that with a poor start. It is a

:54:53. > :54:57.wonderful race for have. She will be very dangerous in the long jump

:54:57. > :55:02.as well. She has gone over seven metres this year but her sprinting

:55:03. > :55:08.form has been so sensational this season. The big surprise for us all

:55:08. > :55:12.was the poor showing of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who ran an outstanding

:55:12. > :55:16.heat. But look at Blessing Okagbare. She is enjoying that. It is another

:55:16. > :55:21.African record. She did in the first semi-final when she won that

:55:21. > :55:27.and now she has come back here in the final, against all odds really,

:55:27. > :55:31.to produce another scintillating bit of sprinting. Good high in the

:55:31. > :55:35.left and are confident form. She does not really panic. She knows

:55:35. > :55:40.that she will claw these women back in in the latter part of the race.

:55:40. > :55:46.That is why she keeps her cool. Perhaps it was not as bad buy it

:55:46. > :55:50.Blessing Okagbare as it was in the heat but it is just that Barbara

:55:50. > :55:57.Pierre was so good. 0 that is how it is in the final. You focus and

:55:57. > :56:01.you switch on and the final is what it is all about. She produced 10.79.

:56:01. > :56:09.That is sensational sprinting. talked about her beating the

:56:09. > :56:13.African record which has stood since 1989. Five of these women in

:56:13. > :56:17.the final went below 11 seconds. A great celebration from Blessing

:56:17. > :56:25.great celebration from Blessing Okagbare and now she is talking to

:56:25. > :56:30.The rain started falling but it did not affect you a tour. -- at all.

:56:31. > :56:35.just want is a thank you to God. I understand a lot of people there

:56:35. > :56:40.are starters and I know that I can finish so I just had to put up a

:56:40. > :56:46.good race and I am happy that finally became -- the time came out.

:56:46. > :56:49.finally became -- the time came out. I am so excited. A second attempt

:56:50. > :56:53.at the world record for Renaud Lavillenie but despite the

:56:53. > :56:59.worsening conditions, he came out and he gave it his best shot and he

:56:59. > :57:04.has still got one more attempt to go. The possible new figures for

:57:04. > :57:07.all of us are six metres and 16. all of us are six metres and 16.

:57:07. > :57:11.Blessing you are being patient and waiting alongside us while we saw

:57:11. > :57:17.that world record attempt. Where does this lead you for the World

:57:17. > :57:20.Championships? You will be a big contender. Yes, but you know the

:57:21. > :57:25.defending champion is always the favourite. For me, I just want to

:57:25. > :57:31.go there and put up my best. Whatever happens I hope it comes

:57:31. > :57:35.out good. Vicky in Moscow is to put back-to-back races like that close

:57:35. > :57:39.together. -- the key. I have been training and working hard and

:57:39. > :57:44.staying on top of my recovery and that is what I need, to be ready to

:57:44. > :57:49.go every time you call them out -- they call you out. I just hope

:57:49. > :57:57.everything goes right in Moscow. I am just hoping that when it comes

:57:57. > :57:59.to Moscow I will be ready to put up to Moscow I will be ready to put up

:57:59. > :58:04.a fight. Thank you very much for talking.

:58:04. > :58:10.Well done. That was mightily impressive. As slight concern for

:58:10. > :58:15.Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in dropping off like that. We do not know why

:58:15. > :58:22.Carmelita Jeter had to pull out but we have concerns for her with that

:58:22. > :58:27.world championships just a couple of weeks away. Lorraine Ugen of

:58:27. > :58:32.Great Britain is perhaps not one of the best-known British athletes but

:58:32. > :58:37.she has come through the ranks very well indeed. She has had three

:58:38. > :58:42.fowls of. That is her 4th round effort and it looks long. It is

:58:42. > :58:47.still Katarina Johnson-Thompson who leads at the moment with a season's

:58:47. > :58:57.best of 6.44. Lorraine Ugen is actually at college in the United

:58:57. > :59:03.States in tax if -- in tax if. She won the US collegiate championship

:59:03. > :59:11.this year. 6.44, that equals what Katarina Johnson-Thompson has done

:59:11. > :59:20.that she is still in second place. So, Jessica Ennis-Hill. Will she

:59:20. > :59:27.stay in one piece? I sincerely hope so. Just over the six metres line.

:59:27. > :59:37.Once again the smile is there, so no pain, that is the most important

:59:37. > :59:38.

:59:38. > :59:43.thing. One more jump to go after this one for Jessica Ennis-Hill.

:59:43. > :59:50.Six metres exactly that way behind the border so that actually was a

:59:50. > :59:55.the border so that actually was a 6.23 jump.

:59:55. > :00:00.That is Jessica's coach who we saw earlier Ron. She is watching and

:00:00. > :00:04.giving her some hoping. She is out of practising competition and this

:00:04. > :00:08.is her first big stage this year to test herself so it will be

:00:08. > :00:13.interesting to see how she comes through this. I know Boris is a

:00:13. > :00:23.massive fan. All of my kids are, it is incredible, they have read a

:00:23. > :00:33.

:00:33. > :00:36.Realistically, an hour would be easier to achieve. How can we

:00:36. > :00:41.transferred the enthusiasm that everyone has got here and had last

:00:41. > :00:44.night, the participation in adults, and make sure that government get

:00:44. > :00:49.into grassroots sport? All the elite athletes have said it was the

:00:49. > :00:54.key. There is a billion pounds being spent on grassroots community

:00:55. > :00:59.based sport over the next few years. The 150 million that has been

:00:59. > :01:03.targeted specifically for primary- school kids, nine-12, that is the

:01:03. > :01:09.period in their lives when they read to really expose the

:01:09. > :01:12.excitement of sport and physical activity. It is moving in the right

:01:12. > :01:17.direction. We are not going to be warming our hands over the hot

:01:17. > :01:21.coals of the Olympic Games alone. We have got games and events like

:01:21. > :01:26.this, the World Athletics Championships here in 2017. We are

:01:26. > :01:36.just watching another world record attempt from Ayanleh Souleiman.

:01:36. > :01:43.

:01:43. > :01:51.-- to Lavillenie. He is the favourite for Moscow. Surrey, said!

:01:51. > :01:56.That was it! I think that is your lot, Gabby! Mo Farah is warming up

:01:56. > :01:58.on the track. His three K is coming up in a few moments time.

:01:58. > :02:02.Conditions not quite as good have they have been this afternoon. You

:02:02. > :02:08.have been enjoying this from a hospitality or whether you have

:02:08. > :02:15.come from. I will go back to where I have come from. Sebastian will

:02:15. > :02:18.stay with us. He will be joined by it Paula Radcliffe, to talk all

:02:19. > :02:22.things middle-distance running, and the brilliance of this man who came

:02:22. > :02:32.into London with so much expectation on his shoulders. He

:02:32. > :02:36.

:02:36. > :02:39.was already a household name. He hears, and the nation expects again.

:02:39. > :02:42.He is now at that point in his career where anything other than a

:02:43. > :02:51.world record or a season's best or national worker -- record, as he

:02:51. > :02:56.got in Monaco the other night, is almost seen as a failure! It is a

:02:56. > :03:00.harsh world that he is in but he has set his own expectation. He is

:03:01. > :03:05.the real deal. The performance if he ran over 1500 metres this and so

:03:05. > :03:12.it record -- so many weapons in his arm reform was going a few weeks. I

:03:12. > :03:20.spoke to him earlier and he is incredibly confident. He is cutting

:03:20. > :03:25.a swathe through records Pruneau care. -- through British records. I

:03:25. > :03:32.just hope he does not strike the 800 metres! I put that thought in

:03:32. > :03:36.your head last night! The crowd are loving him, he is a crowd-pleaser.

:03:36. > :03:40.He likes playing to the crowd as well and I think that helps lift

:03:40. > :03:47.him up and raises his performance to another level. He is on cloud

:03:47. > :03:54.nine coming back here, he knows he is in great shape. His big thing is

:03:54. > :04:04.so he does not, as he says, over cricket and go in to -- overcook it

:04:04. > :04:12.

:04:12. > :04:20.the field against him is not one which will undue worry him. One

:04:20. > :04:26.all-too-familiar characters. Andy Vernon, he won a big personal best

:04:26. > :04:36.recently. Cameron Levins, he is a training partner of Mo Farah.

:04:36. > :04:42.Gideon Gathimba is well known to Mo Farah as well, as is Tariku Bekele.

:04:42. > :04:47.His more famous brother will be at the World Championships. I guess

:04:48. > :04:57.the only question is, how fast does Mo want to go? The British record,

:04:58. > :04:58.

:04:58. > :05:02.which has been held by David Moorcroft for over 30 years now.

:05:02. > :05:07.They would love to see him break it. I think they will be happy if he

:05:07. > :05:15.does anything, as long as he wins, which he puppy -- which I am pretty

:05:15. > :05:19.sure he will do. If he wants to go to the record cover it is within

:05:19. > :05:29.his ability to do that. It will be whether the pacemaker can do the

:05:29. > :05:32.

:05:32. > :05:40.was to take it on himself. Some of the other athletes might keep up

:05:40. > :05:48.with him. Here is Hassad Mead. Cameron Levins of Canada. Nathan

:05:48. > :05:53.Brannen of New Zealand. Andy Vernon was in Dublin, Christensen, I think

:05:53. > :06:03.unfortunate not be selected. He missed at the 10 K a standard by a

:06:03. > :06:06.

:06:06. > :06:14.few tents in April. -- a few tenths of a second. Back in 2010, when Mo

:06:14. > :06:23.announced he was moving into world class, then in that race, Daniele

:06:23. > :06:27.Meucci was behind him. Let's have a look, the Mo should get under way.

:06:27. > :06:33.I think there will be a good noise level in the stadium for the

:06:33. > :06:43.duration of the race. The pacemaker moves to the front. It is really

:06:43. > :06:47.down to Mo here. At his best, he can run may be 7.25 for 3000 metres.

:06:47. > :06:50.It is the championships so that will be important in Moscow, and he

:06:50. > :06:55.and his could well have decided what he wants out of this race.

:06:55. > :07:02.has come into the stadium, a Saturday, Olympic stadium in London,

:07:02. > :07:07.so we know what happens, Mo wins. Every Saturday he has won here, he

:07:07. > :07:11.has won a medal. He is looking over his shoulder to see what is going

:07:11. > :07:14.on behind him. It is his decision, does he wants to run quick, does he

:07:14. > :07:23.care about the time? We know how good shape he is in. We were

:07:23. > :07:27.staggered and astonished how well he run the 1500 metres. And 27

:07:27. > :07:32.minutes to 10,000 metres. His range of ability is outstanding. He has

:07:32. > :07:36.never been in better shape. When an athlete get in this shape, they do

:07:36. > :07:40.amazing things. His coach and him will have agreed something. You

:07:40. > :07:44.know that Mo is an honest distance runner, he will go out and give an

:07:45. > :07:50.honest performance. We travel expect him to win. Let's just see

:07:50. > :07:57.how fast he runs. The pace is pretty steady. Six laps to go. Mo

:07:57. > :08:03.Farah, double Olympic champion, I am still not tired of saying that!

:08:03. > :08:09.They started swiftly enough, but they slowed down. It is 64.4

:08:09. > :08:12.through the finish line. Much slower from Ishmael Kombich, that

:08:12. > :08:20.will not be good enough for the record if there are too many laps

:08:20. > :08:30.at that pace. Mo can certainly run 61, 62. And then really attack the

:08:30. > :08:31.

:08:31. > :08:38.last 1000. If they runt 64, he will disappear into the distance. He is

:08:38. > :08:45.good at this distance. He has run at 7.38. If they goat too slowly,

:08:45. > :08:53.he will not even get that. He's capable of so much better. His tiny

:08:53. > :08:59.bit of a laugh with Dathan Ritzenhein. It is a bit slow, I

:08:59. > :09:03.think he might be thinking, he was meant to be quicker than this.

:09:03. > :09:08.not think there is any attack on any serious records here. One day -

:09:09. > :09:12.- one day, we know that he will run an exceptional 3000 metres. British

:09:12. > :09:16.record-holder for 1500 metres, 5000 metres and 10,000 metres. Clearly

:09:16. > :09:21.he will be the record holder for 3000 metres when he chooses to do

:09:21. > :09:24.so. Behind him in the green vest, Christensen. Disappointed that he

:09:24. > :09:29.is not going to the bar championships. -- Chris Thompson.

:09:29. > :09:32.They could have slipped him in, Mo Farah would have had a wild card,

:09:32. > :09:37.so they could have opened eight space for Chris Thomson, even

:09:37. > :09:41.though he has not done the a standard. I am a bit stand, there

:09:41. > :09:47.is no point having just one Distance runner. -- a bit sad.

:09:47. > :09:53.Chris Thomson is probably our next best distance runner. Unita have

:09:53. > :10:01.exposed of the championships. To find out who you really are. Here

:10:01. > :10:07.goes to recoup the Keighley, bronze medal. He has not running as well

:10:07. > :10:14.this season. He has decided it is not quicken up. The races become

:10:14. > :10:20.pedestrian. So to recoup the KLA, who is at -- Tariku Bekele, he is

:10:20. > :10:27.beginning to test them. And Mo Farah has decided to follow him.

:10:27. > :10:37.This looks like it could have been the cricket -- could his lap of the

:10:37. > :10:41.

:10:41. > :10:44.race. He has had enough. Mo Farah is following him. That injection of

:10:44. > :10:50.pace has a stretched them out a little. Coming into the home

:10:50. > :11:00.straight, three laps to go. The crowd is really enjoying this. What

:11:00. > :11:02.

:11:02. > :11:12.will be given here is a Mo last lap or last 6000 metres -- hundred 600

:11:12. > :11:13.

:11:13. > :11:19.metres big sprint. That is the bit that everyone is worried about. It

:11:19. > :11:22.is almost on hold off -- unheard of for a 5000 or 10,000 metre person

:11:22. > :11:32.to do that. That is the net exceptional thing I have seen from

:11:32. > :11:35.

:11:35. > :11:40.mode Farrar. He ran brilliantly to get his record. His confidence is

:11:40. > :11:44.absolutely sky-high. He is here, he has got his equipment, he knows

:11:44. > :11:52.what he has got to be to be in contention, and there has never

:11:52. > :11:55.been a distance runner capable of running 50 seconds in the last lap.

:11:55. > :12:01.Here, he is giving the crowd a lead to cheer as they come down the

:12:01. > :12:06.finishing straight. Two laps to go in the 3000 metres. And Mo Farah is

:12:06. > :12:10.giving them a little to what they came for. They came to watch him

:12:10. > :12:19.when. As I said earlier, it is Saturday, the Olympic Stadium, Mo

:12:19. > :12:26.wins! Dathan Ritzenhein is trying to stretch them out. These three

:12:26. > :12:33.have pulled them out of the way of the rest. This is Mo's territory.

:12:33. > :12:38.This is where Mo wants to take control of races. Leaders was to

:12:38. > :12:44.get out of the way of the legs. Making sure that Tariku Bekele will

:12:44. > :12:49.not attack him on the outside. Have a guess at his last lap? That was

:12:49. > :12:52.60. Here he goes in the finishing straight. One lap to go to the

:12:52. > :13:00.whole crowd will be able to watch him. He is already pulling away

:13:00. > :13:04.from world-class distance runners. It is six minutes 41 seconds. It is

:13:04. > :13:09.going to be pretty quick. He has already done enough exhilarating.

:13:09. > :13:16.He has already opened up and told them, I have not even started

:13:16. > :13:23.sprinting yet. He has got 20 metres on a world class field. Mo Farah in

:13:23. > :13:29.full flow, it is an absolute pleasure, to watch the world

:13:29. > :13:32.champion in all his glory. Mo Farah in majestic style moved away from

:13:32. > :13:36.the rest of the field, takes themselves into the different

:13:36. > :13:40.territory into which he is running now. This crowd are absolutely love

:13:40. > :13:46.in this. All of them are all on their feet. Shades of last year. A

:13:46. > :13:55.much easier race to win. Nowhere near the British record. He might

:13:55. > :14:00.eclipse Brendan Foster's first best! He can sue for another

:14:00. > :14:05.significant victory. A personal best for him. -- he comes through.

:14:05. > :14:09.He can now head of to the world championships with I don't know how

:14:09. > :14:12.much confidence. I do not know how much confidence any athlete can

:14:12. > :14:17.have. You have got to be respectful of your competitors. It will be

:14:17. > :14:22.tough. He has got to run the 10,000 metres, then he has got heat of the

:14:22. > :14:26.5000 metres, 5000 metre final. Let's not kid ourselves, he is

:14:26. > :14:30.there man, the Kenyans he will be putting about him, be reviewed in

:14:30. > :14:33.will be thinking about him. They have not been able to do anything

:14:33. > :14:42.about him. -- the Ethiopians will be thinking about him. Unless

:14:42. > :14:46.something unusual happens. Mo Farah, we hope and we suspect that he will

:14:46. > :14:52.be thinking the same, heading off to Moscow with his two gold medals

:14:52. > :14:58.very much in his sights. All well and good today. I am not sure I

:14:59. > :15:03.have seemed anyone and make that race looks a comfortable and easy.

:15:03. > :15:10.He absolutely loves coming here. He always knows he's going to want --

:15:10. > :15:16.win when he comes there. He has been here three times, band won

:15:16. > :15:19.three times. Let's hope he's still around to when the stadium is

:15:19. > :15:23.rebuilt. The inspiration he is providing to the next generation,

:15:23. > :15:28.that is what it is about with Mo Farah. He is running exceptionally

:15:28. > :15:33.well. There he goes. Dathan Ritzenhein, his training partner,

:15:33. > :15:40.look at Mo just drifting to the front. 500 metres to go. And within

:15:40. > :15:46.10 strides he opens up three or four metres. He goes determined. He

:15:46. > :15:51.runs strongly here. He is running so quickly. The Olympic bronze

:15:51. > :15:55.medallist is trailing in his wake. This last lap here, we are heading

:15:55. > :16:00.into, he is not even trying the that. He's just relaxing, running

:16:00. > :16:04.strongly. He keeps an eye on what is going on. He is enjoying the

:16:04. > :16:08.crowd and so he should. These are great days of his athletic career.

:16:08. > :16:12.These are great times for Mo Farah, great times for British distance

:16:12. > :16:16.running and they are also, the people who could not get to see him

:16:16. > :16:19.at the Olympic Games, have come here today to watch him run. They

:16:19. > :16:24.have watched him every second of his competition in the Olympics. He

:16:24. > :16:29.has moved up another gear. Here he is demonstrating next year. Into

:16:29. > :16:34.the finishing straight. On the way to a personal best but that does

:16:34. > :16:37.not matter. The last lap of 55 seconds does not matter. When you

:16:38. > :16:41.combine fitness and strength, and the speed that he has got with the

:16:41. > :16:46.conference he has got, you are looking at an athlete to almost is

:16:46. > :16:51.unbeatable. Les's record to the world championships in a few weeks'

:16:51. > :17:01.time, we will see him running again and let's hope he can stay

:17:01. > :17:10.

:17:10. > :17:16.unbeatable. He is the top of his You have given great delight in a

:17:16. > :17:22.crowd and that is what you came out to do. Absolutely. I wanted to come

:17:22. > :17:26.and run this map race and I enjoy this track and have great memories.

:17:26. > :17:33.I got really emotional coming in here because 2012 was a big year

:17:33. > :17:36.for me and having that home support was great. The reception, where you

:17:36. > :17:42.go around the country you get a loud reception but this was

:17:42. > :17:45.something else. It was incredible. It is close to the noise of the

:17:45. > :17:49.Olympics so it was amazing to have so many people behind you and

:17:49. > :17:53.cheering for you as a nation. I won the race and I want to make my

:17:53. > :17:56.country proud and get on the podium. Steve Cram was just saying that

:17:56. > :17:59.with each race you must grow in confidence but how much more

:17:59. > :18:04.confident can you get because it seems as though you reach new

:18:04. > :18:09.heights every time you run? Absolutely. I am learning every

:18:09. > :18:13.time I run. I have to go out there and give it 110% and respect

:18:13. > :18:18.everyone but at the same time try and win the race. Moscow is just

:18:18. > :18:25.around the corner so what is the next phase? I will be out tomorrow

:18:25. > :18:28.morning and I will go to San Moritz and I will be their training until

:18:28. > :18:31.Moscow. They must be a great feeling to know that all of these

:18:31. > :18:36.people multiplied by many thousands more will be supporting you all of

:18:36. > :18:39.the way in Moscow. Yes, I am honoured to be representing my

:18:40. > :18:43.country and to have the support that I get. I just want to thank

:18:43. > :18:53.everyone to have supported me and my aim is to go out there in Moscow

:18:53. > :19:01.

:19:01. > :19:02.and make the country proud. Thank Mo Farah will head off for some

:19:02. > :19:12.Mo Farah will head off for some high altitude training and the rest

:19:12. > :19:14.

:19:14. > :19:18.of the British team heads of to their camp as well. Personal best

:19:19. > :19:25.today and Mo Farah goes forth on today and Mo Farah goes forth on

:19:25. > :19:28.the all-time list. Stephen was secretly hoping that

:19:28. > :19:33.Brendan's record might have gone today but that was not to be. He

:19:33. > :19:38.made it look so easy. In his environment, he is so comfortable

:19:38. > :19:40.here, it is his stadium and it is where the winds. He goes to Moscow

:19:41. > :19:44.and the Kenyans and Ethiopians are in their training camps and he

:19:44. > :19:54.should take nothing but granted but have you seen anyone look more

:19:54. > :19:58.relaxed? Here then a period in his career where he is actually walking

:19:59. > :20:02.out on to the track knowing that he is probably not going to lose. The

:20:02. > :20:06.worst thing about that, of course, is that the athletes that are

:20:06. > :20:11.lining up with him are looking at him and thinking that they are not

:20:11. > :20:15.going to beat him and that is a crucial asset. The other crucial

:20:15. > :20:20.asset he has is that he have the ability to change the whole nature

:20:20. > :20:27.of a race in a few paces. 55 seconds for the last rats -- lap,

:20:27. > :20:30.impressive, 4th on the all-time British list, impressive, and

:20:30. > :20:35.getting pars some very good athletes but it was the nature of

:20:35. > :20:39.what he did with a lap and 50 metres to go, it was an

:20:39. > :20:45.extraordinary change of pace and to build on it. The people he was

:20:45. > :20:49.leaving behind were not selling places, they may not be in the best

:20:49. > :20:55.form of their career but it was an extraordinary piece of majestic

:20:55. > :20:59.running. Now in a change of pace this man is back out on the track.

:20:59. > :21:02.Before you go, porn a, a quick line on a Mo Farah and the form he is in

:21:02. > :21:08.and we have seen in the last few days.

:21:08. > :21:12.If I think we are very excited about Moscow. He is in that groove

:21:12. > :21:16.now. I would be very scared if I was racing him because you would

:21:16. > :21:20.wonder how to beat him. He can finish like that Hamed he has got

:21:20. > :21:24.the endurance and strength so they have their work cut out trying to

:21:24. > :21:29.beat him. He is arguably way Usain Bolt is as sprinting with the rest

:21:29. > :21:33.of the well tried to work out to beat him. Today Usain Bolt has a

:21:34. > :21:36.few friends with him. It is a few friends with him. It is a

:21:36. > :21:43.chance to practise the relay technique.

:21:43. > :21:48.Usain Bolt will be running on the final leg. They have got a stronger

:21:49. > :21:55.team. Whether or not what the final Jim Aitken team will be, decimated

:21:55. > :22:05.by the problems with Tyson Gay and the others who will not be there. -

:22:05. > :22:12.

:22:12. > :22:17.- the Jamaican team. This is the opportunities to run too many

:22:17. > :22:21.relays. There was one for the Americans in April but this is a

:22:21. > :22:29.big test for a lot of the teams. The Netherlands have been drawn on

:22:29. > :22:34.the inside there. The Canadians were disqualified here last year

:22:34. > :22:39.after thinking they had won a bronze medal. A slight change in

:22:39. > :22:49.their line-up. Harris has been brought in for their lead up like.

:22:49. > :22:51.

:22:51. > :22:56.The All Stars. Mike Rodgers is the first one on their team. This is

:22:56. > :23:06.the British squad without James Dasaolu. Dwain Chambers is going to

:23:06. > :23:07.

:23:08. > :23:17.be the lead-off. Dwain Chambers run pretty well yesterday. There was

:23:18. > :23:21.

:23:21. > :23:29.some great runs in a domestic 100 metres. This is another Great

:23:29. > :23:39.Britain team. Andy Robinson has had a great year. He will lead off the

:23:39. > :23:40.

:23:40. > :23:50.GP to a team. The French team has Jimmy Vicaut. They also have

:23:50. > :23:51.

:23:51. > :23:58.Christian Lemaitre. Germany going eight. -- Germany go in eight. On

:23:58. > :24:02.the outside will be Australia. A few things for me. The biggest

:24:02. > :24:06.thing is the British team. We are told that both of the squads will

:24:06. > :24:10.be stretching things this weekend and they will be looking to really

:24:10. > :24:16.take the risks and they will not be going pulsate changes but they will

:24:16. > :24:20.be going for a quick times and that is a high risk strategy. Of course,

:24:20. > :24:29.will the team miss James Dasaolu. Who is going to try and hold off

:24:29. > :24:39.Usain Bolt? We know it is Harry Aitken's on the last leg. We have

:24:39. > :24:40.

:24:40. > :24:50.the Netherlands and Canada all-star team, GB and G B two. France,

:24:50. > :24:54.

:24:54. > :24:59.really important that Dwain Chambers get the team away and he

:24:59. > :25:04.has had a good start. The first changeover was a good one for

:25:04. > :25:11.Britain. Also for the Jamaican team. James Ellington is trying to hang

:25:11. > :25:21.on. Another very good or change for Great Britain. No, they drop dead.

:25:21. > :25:28.Gone. I just thought they made it. Usain Bolt has got it all to

:25:28. > :25:36.himself. This is a show for the crowd. Usain Bolt texted across the

:25:36. > :25:42.line. -- Usain Bolt takes it across the line. Goodness me! 37.75. That

:25:42. > :25:45.is not even a proper team. That is just a thrown together a team. That

:25:45. > :25:50.quartet will have never run before and that shows you that if you get

:25:50. > :25:54.for really fast men get the baton changes right. It was James

:25:54. > :26:01.Ellington not getting the baton across in the second changeover for

:26:01. > :26:07.Great Britain. They said it was high risk and the British team were

:26:07. > :26:12.going to try and stretch it and with Adam Gemili coming end, they

:26:12. > :26:16.were trying to run at Big Ben but unfortunately the risk did not pay

:26:16. > :26:22.off. I thought he almost had it in his hand, I was looking at my naked

:26:22. > :26:27.eye but he obviously dropped it. What would your verdict be on that?

:26:27. > :26:32.It was always going to be a high- risk strategy to go for at full

:26:32. > :26:35.stretch in this kind of environment. Both British teams will really want

:26:35. > :26:40.to put it out there in this environment and feared they can get

:26:40. > :26:44.a fast time and get into the 30th second figure. The only way to do

:26:44. > :26:48.it under these circumstances is to stretch it but Adam Gemili was that

:26:48. > :26:53.I do not understand why the baton got dropped there. I feel a little

:26:53. > :26:56.bit for him. If you remember last year was his change at the Olympic

:26:57. > :27:02.Stadium Makos stuff and we got disqualified so he is going to feel

:27:02. > :27:07.really awful. This team, led by Usain Bolt, I think they were tried

:27:07. > :27:12.to get the World League but they just missed that. It was won last

:27:12. > :27:16.weekend in Monaco by at USA team. I think they would have wanted to get

:27:16. > :27:26.that world-leading performance but they just missed it. But the

:27:26. > :27:26.

:27:26. > :27:32.Jamaica on, when they blended together, they are unstoppable.

:27:32. > :27:36.can just see Mo Farah in the background just watching it. Usain

:27:36. > :27:42.Bolt was really going for it. He tried to get that time and they

:27:42. > :27:46.have some good changes and although that will not be their strongest

:27:46. > :27:51.quartet, but with Warren Weir and Usain Bolt, they have got a strong

:27:51. > :27:55.quartet and they have just shown it there.

:27:55. > :27:59.What a quartet and what a man to bring them home. As you charged

:27:59. > :28:05.down the finishing straight, --, you said you were looking at the

:28:05. > :28:09.clock and you want to the time. is our first run for the relay team

:28:09. > :28:12.so of form may we wanted to run as fast time to see where we are at so

:28:13. > :28:16.it was good. How have the whole experience been for you this

:28:16. > :28:20.weekend, the crowd has been phenomenal. You have been the star

:28:20. > :28:24.attraction! It is magnificent to be her. It is like being at the

:28:24. > :28:28.Olympics. The energy is incredible. I can't believe it, I seriously

:28:28. > :28:33.can't but it is just wonderful. I was watching when Mo Farah was

:28:33. > :28:36.running and it was so loud it was ridiculous. Why he can do and

:28:36. > :28:40.ignite the crowd is similar to you and we do not usually seen at over

:28:40. > :28:45.long distances. The it was beautiful and wonderful.

:28:45. > :28:49.He is a wonderful athlete and I was happy to see him. What is next for

:28:49. > :28:53.you guys? It is back to training in Moscow so we have got to go and

:28:53. > :28:57.look at the text and figure out what we need to do and get it down.

:28:57. > :29:01.As for this kind of thing, you send a message out to London that you

:29:01. > :29:06.want this every year? Yes, I am happy with the way it is going and

:29:06. > :29:16.my early season was not coming together by now it is and I am just

:29:16. > :29:17.

:29:17. > :29:23.happy to be here in London. What a performance and what a man

:29:23. > :29:28.and what a day we have had here. We have had two brilliant days

:29:28. > :29:34.altogether. The long jump is coming towards its conclusion and Katarina

:29:34. > :29:40.Johnson-Thompson is still in the lead. Bianca Stuart of the Bahamas,

:29:40. > :29:44.what can she do in the last round? That is good. That could challenge

:29:44. > :29:49.Katarina Johnson-Thompson's best jump. She had led since the second

:29:49. > :29:52.round. She duplicated her jump in the third round and she has won

:29:52. > :29:57.the third round and she has won more jump to go but Bianca Stuart

:29:57. > :30:02.has had 6.4 as her best jump up until this point and she is a

:30:02. > :30:07.national record holder for the Bahamas. She is a very useful

:30:07. > :30:17.athlete and spend a lot of time in the United States. 6.4 secs. That

:30:17. > :30:28.

:30:28. > :30:33.means Katarina Johnson-Thompson is jumper. It is one of her strongest

:30:33. > :30:41.event in the heptathlon, that is the sure. That looks as though it

:30:41. > :30:45.is a round about the same distance as Bianca Stuart. If it is the same,

:30:45. > :30:50.she would win because she has had the second-best jump which is

:30:50. > :30:54.better than that of Bianca Stuart. Look at that, she lost 20

:30:54. > :31:01.centimetres. She knows he's in very good shape indeed. The win would be

:31:01. > :31:09.the icing on the cake. She gets it, 6.46, exactly the same as Bianca

:31:09. > :31:15.Stuart. Because of the countback situation, victory is hers. One of

:31:15. > :31:21.the most significant things on this results caption is that of Jessica

:31:21. > :31:25.Ennis-Hill's last place. Some way below her lifetime best of 6.51.

:31:25. > :31:35.She has finished a competition in one piece and will go to Moscow to

:31:35. > :31:37.

:31:37. > :31:40.look for that one championship What a day, back in the Olympic

:31:40. > :31:46.stadium. I remember the look on your face when you first came here

:31:46. > :31:51.a year ago, the cheer you got, it was reminiscent today. The wind

:31:51. > :31:56.blew in my face and it has stuck like this for ever! I could not be

:31:56. > :32:02.happier and longer -- appear to be picked in the long jump. I rest of

:32:02. > :32:05.the occasion again. Well done to your success, you have got a spot

:32:05. > :32:11.in Moscow to be looking for a two. You seem to be building year by

:32:11. > :32:18.year. This year has been a weird one, I have had a bit of injury, I

:32:18. > :32:26.think it is good that great won the championship last week, the

:32:26. > :32:30.European Under 23. I am just hoping to get to Moscow. We wish you well.

:32:30. > :32:35.That is what the crowd think, we have had some fantastic British

:32:35. > :32:40.performances here today. Katarina Johnson-Thomson effect of the

:32:40. > :32:45.Windsor last event of the day. -- effectively a wins. Jessica Ennis-

:32:45. > :32:51.Hill is one of the athletes that everyone was hoping would come

:32:51. > :32:55.through this unscathed. After her event, she talks to Phil Jones.

:32:55. > :32:59.A double dose of action for Jess Ennis-Hill, it is great to see that

:33:00. > :33:05.you were able to put a series of jumps together, put to injury to

:33:05. > :33:08.the test, had a do come through? was great to come here and test it

:33:08. > :33:13.out. Frustrating to not be in the shape it wanted to be coming into

:33:13. > :33:19.this event. It has been amazing to be here and steam the stadium here

:33:19. > :33:21.full again come and having the support. You were a huge part of

:33:21. > :33:27.this come what you're able to achieve last year, bringing these

:33:27. > :33:31.people back. How aware of that are you? It was not just me, it was Mo,

:33:31. > :33:35.the other amazing athlete we had, the country but on an amazing show

:33:35. > :33:39.last year. We are showing it how people are inspired, the crowds are

:33:39. > :33:44.still wanted to come in and watch as compete. It is everyone's part

:33:44. > :33:48.in it all. So see how your injury reacts to what you have put your

:33:48. > :33:51.body through today? Definitely come a see how it reacts tomorrow and

:33:52. > :33:59.the day after, have a sit down with my coach and see where we are,

:33:59. > :34:03.where we need to be two weeks ahead of Moscow. We all wish you the best

:34:03. > :34:13.for Moscow, had you can make it in one piece and challenge for the

:34:13. > :34:26.

:34:26. > :34:36.Anniversary Games. Tomorrow, it is first gold medallists in the

:34:36. > :34:49.

:34:50. > :34:59.Olympic Stadium? Double gold for It is the 10th gold medal for

:35:00. > :35:21.

:35:21. > :35:26.Britain in the athletics Heart of the world championships in

:35:26. > :35:35.Leon, a bit was the hot there, David Weir will be in action as far.

:35:35. > :35:42.Will be another fabulous day here to remember, look back and remember.

:35:42. > :35:51.Coverage starts from 12pm on 5 Live. Right now on BBC2, there is live

:35:52. > :35:55.Challenge Cup Premier League rugby. Then Formula One action, the

:35:55. > :36:01.Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying. And if you want to reminisce, the

:36:01. > :36:08.opening ceremony is on BBC Three at 7pm tonight. So many great

:36:08. > :36:18.performances over the last today's, -- two days, athletes turning up

:36:18. > :36:46.

:36:46. > :36:49.ready for the World Championships Promises to be a fantastic

:36:49. > :36:53.championships. Some of the performances we have seen here are

:36:53. > :36:59.anything to go by. Steve and Colin is here, Lord Coe has stayed with

:36:59. > :37:02.us. Just hearing Usain Bolt they eulogise about the energy he got

:37:02. > :37:08.from this crowd, he is not a man who is going to give away those

:37:08. > :37:12.comments lightly. He doesn't so bad about that many meetings. I think

:37:12. > :37:17.he feels spirit surely this has become home to him. -- he doesn't

:37:17. > :37:21.say that about many meetings. A massive chunk of the crowd that he

:37:22. > :37:25.knows have a sense to become to see him. Such a knowledgeable athletics

:37:25. > :37:30.crowds today, as well as a celebratory atmosphere, they wanted

:37:30. > :37:33.to see their stars. I suspect there were quite a lot of people here who

:37:33. > :37:37.could not get tickets for the Olympics and wanted to make sure

:37:37. > :37:40.they were here. Said is laughing, that is great! There are probably a

:37:41. > :37:46.lot of people who did not get to the Games. This is a great

:37:46. > :37:52.opportunity for them. Which is why, it was a great crowd. Moscow will

:37:52. > :37:57.have a hard act to follow. Not only do we have the Olympics, we have

:37:57. > :38:01.had this as a Diamond League meeting. It will be tough for them

:38:02. > :38:08.to recreate the atmosphere. Those guys there, is in Jamaica, USA and

:38:08. > :38:12.the rest, in the middles, they put out a marked today. A strong

:38:12. > :38:16.performance from the more. They enjoyed the whole feel of it. They

:38:17. > :38:21.had enjoyed being here and participating in this. It will be

:38:21. > :38:27.exciting in Moscow. It is the way to end a major championships. A

:38:27. > :38:31.tight race, Jamaica versus USA in that we live. One of the domestic

:38:31. > :38:37.performances of the whole weekend, Christine Ohuruogu, who times has

:38:37. > :38:40.seasons as always to perfection. The other times have been in major

:38:40. > :38:44.championships. She seems to be on target once again to put in a

:38:44. > :38:48.performance at Moscow that will bring home a medal of some colour.

:38:48. > :38:51.We have talked about the crucial asset of change of pace, getting

:38:51. > :38:56.into the zone and knowing you're not going to lose. The other

:38:56. > :39:01.crucial asset is being a championship performer. It does not

:39:01. > :39:06.really faze her when other races are not particularly spectacular.

:39:06. > :39:13.She does have the knack of getting into great shape and it does matter.

:39:13. > :39:18.I wasn't really -- a little worried that he was -- she was going to run

:39:18. > :39:22.49.99 to break the habit! I think she is a model for other British

:39:22. > :39:26.athletes for the last six years. Even before that, Commonwealth

:39:26. > :39:30.Games 2006, seven years ago. She always does better at championships

:39:30. > :39:35.than the rest of the season. All, if it is a domestic meets, she

:39:35. > :39:39.always does well. That is the type of person she is. When it really

:39:39. > :39:45.means something to her, she can get something of a bit extra. Lloyd is

:39:45. > :39:49.done a great job. There were things in the race that she was working on.

:39:49. > :39:54.It is a big plan that they have each year that they execute

:39:54. > :39:58.incredibly well. Should sit down with her and talk through with some

:39:58. > :40:01.of the other people, chance tell them how to do it. What did we

:40:01. > :40:05.learn about Jessica Ennis-Hill today? We know she's have become a

:40:05. > :40:10.she got through to events. I know she will go back to the drawing

:40:10. > :40:15.wire -- strong board -- she is healthy, she has got through two

:40:15. > :40:23.events. It is not about exactly where she finished today, it is

:40:23. > :40:27.about how far she ran and how fast she ran. I think these things are

:40:27. > :40:30.very unpredictable. I will hold my breath and will she reports over

:40:30. > :40:35.the next couple of days that the performances in Loughborough on

:40:35. > :40:42.Tuesday and here again over the weekend are safely behind her.

:40:42. > :40:47.Because she could easily wake up feeling quite soar again. I did not

:40:47. > :40:54.once to the doom and gloom here. Achilles tendons are a notoriously

:40:54. > :40:59.difficult to fling off. I think the key for Jess in the heptathlon is

:40:59. > :41:03.her speed. She's so good at the hurdles and the 200 metres, that

:41:03. > :41:08.translates into the long jump, key events for have. The high jumper

:41:08. > :41:13.will be a warrior on the Achilles tendon. But if -- will be a worry

:41:13. > :41:22.on the Achilles tendon. But if it responds well, it will be OK. She

:41:22. > :41:27.is strong enough, from the javelin, a speed is well be key. We saw a

:41:27. > :41:34.glimpse of the future, Katarina Johnson-Thomson, or she could beat

:41:34. > :41:38.the next Jessica Ennis-Hill, and she won a Diamond League meeting.

:41:38. > :41:42.All of the eyes on Jess, so far had to come through so strongly and not

:41:42. > :41:47.be intimidated by everyone else's performance, but is a good time and

:41:47. > :41:53.a good sign. I have watched her graduate through the youth and

:41:53. > :41:57.junior ranks and wind titles in each age group. She is it someone

:41:57. > :42:06.last championships. And Mo seems to be loving them as well, a quick

:42:06. > :42:12.word on him? I hate to go to dinks on it... Don't!He is just

:42:12. > :42:16.unbeatable, he has too many weapons in his armoury. We have enjoyed

:42:16. > :42:20.every single minute of him being here today, it added the stardust

:42:20. > :42:26.to the whole Anniversary Games. It has been a fantastic but days.
