:00:49. > :00:58.Welcome to Brussels, the final Diamond League meet of the seasons.

:00:58. > :01:00.There are 59 world championship medallists here. You could say we

:01:00. > :01:57.have saved the best till last. Huge stars here tonight but none

:01:57. > :02:04.bigger than that man. All the athletes, the big names arriving in

:02:04. > :02:14.various vehicles, but they saved the best till last, as in the case of

:02:14. > :02:18.Usain Bolt. That man has so much charisma, as do my guests tonight,

:02:18. > :02:31.of course, Colin Jackson and Denise Lewis. Our first race this evening

:02:31. > :02:41.is loaded with talent. Our commentary team are waiting to call

:02:41. > :02:48.this one for you. Good evening, Gabby, good evening, everybody. For

:02:48. > :02:56.many, it is one of the best. This wonderful stadium with such

:02:56. > :02:59.wonderful heritage and this meeting. First event, the 400 metres

:02:59. > :03:37.hurdles. Tinsley could win this. Double

:03:37. > :03:46.points tonight. Felix Sanchez, the Olympic champion, has had a rib

:03:46. > :03:47.problem. And this man here has a chance to win the Diamond rated

:03:48. > :03:59.tonight. Rhys Williams, what a chance to win the Diamond rated

:03:59. > :04:11.consistent year he has had. In Italy, ye had a good race there. And

:04:11. > :04:18.the world Championships, of course, why one by this man, Gordon. The

:04:18. > :04:36.American was outside him in lane six. Gordon can't win the race

:04:36. > :04:38.tonight. Tinsley, yet again, went in as the world leader, came out with a

:04:38. > :04:56.silver medal. Away cleanly and this crowd of

:04:56. > :05:05.50,000 have created a great atmosphere here tonight. A

:05:05. > :05:16.knowledgeable crowd. And there's Tinsley.

:05:16. > :05:26.Needs to get into the top three yet. Tinsley just starting to get moving

:05:26. > :05:35.now, so is the world champion. But it is Colson that is leading. And

:05:35. > :05:39.Gordon is trying to get there. And then he goes, the world champion,

:05:39. > :05:49.pulling away, and it is a win for Gordon. No surprise, given he is the

:05:49. > :05:56.man who carried the form through. Williams in seventh place in the

:05:56. > :06:00.end. Tough out there in lane nine. Not the best hurdle race of the

:06:00. > :06:09.year, but this is the man who won the world Championships and has

:06:09. > :06:13.finished off on a real high year. Colson always goes out hard like

:06:13. > :06:21.that. He must've thought, I've had this tactic before. This race is

:06:21. > :06:31.like his season, it runs out of steam. Yes, and Gordon was so strong

:06:31. > :06:35.in Moscow when he just how. Tinsley. He went off so strongly, Colson. But

:06:36. > :06:41.in Moscow when he just how. Tinsley. he tends to fade in the latter

:06:41. > :06:46.stages. He really powered his way past Rhys Williams in the early

:06:46. > :06:55.stages. One thing you can say for Gordon as well, his technique is so

:06:55. > :07:03.strong. But Colson was in the hunt for the Diamond League race, and

:07:04. > :07:10.that was what he was looking for. Rhys Williams finished in eighth

:07:10. > :07:19.place or so. So disappointing the world Championships. Again, the

:07:20. > :07:24.quality he's up against here, though. Colson did well because he

:07:24. > :07:32.held up Tinsley. They have been given exactly the same time on the

:07:32. > :07:40.computer, but because Tinsley is in the top two, it means Colson will

:07:41. > :07:47.win the Diamond race. They go. Two points added to his 13. Gordon could

:07:47. > :07:49.never get the win tonight, but he will finish in second place. But he

:07:49. > :08:09.was our winner tonight. Packed stadium as though here. They

:08:09. > :08:18.love their athletics here. And coming up, we have the women's and

:08:18. > :08:27.then the men's 200 metres. Watch out for Usain Bolt. Every run under ten

:08:27. > :08:42.seconds. Christine Hall Ruby was also out as well. We will be

:08:42. > :08:44.covering all of those races for you. Plenty to look forward to this

:08:44. > :08:52.evening. I believe Rhys Williams is just

:08:52. > :09:08.behind me. Have you got your breath back? How are you? OK. Out of

:09:08. > :09:13.breath, but OK. I am disappointed. That end of season time and the

:09:13. > :09:23.feeling that it is the end for you now. Yes, and the same for everyone.

:09:23. > :09:27.It's a long season. You were disappointed the last time I spoke

:09:27. > :09:38.to you. What were your reflections after Moscow? I set myself high

:09:38. > :09:48.standards. I was disappointed in Moscow. Colin, it's always tough. By

:09:48. > :09:53.the way, a busy studio here! Plenty going on. You may say we are sharing

:09:53. > :09:57.it with lots of people. Always disappointing when you set yourself

:09:57. > :10:05.those goals and you have two look forward to a hard winter's training.

:10:05. > :10:10.I know Rhys Williams very well indeed. He never shies away from

:10:10. > :10:13.hard work on competition and set himself very high standards because

:10:13. > :10:21.he knows how hard he is working and what he can achieve. What has been

:10:21. > :10:29.ground-breaking is breaking that barrier. It is an excellent platform

:10:29. > :10:33.for him to work on the next year. Two big championships that he has

:10:33. > :10:42.got to nail. He's also got the Commonwealth Games. No pressure!

:10:42. > :10:48.What's the plan the winter? A few weeks off and then keep pushing.

:10:48. > :10:57.It's just trying to step up to the next level. What do you think you

:10:57. > :11:04.have to do? Is it a case of more flat speed? Next speed, I definitely

:11:04. > :11:10.have to do? Is it a case of more need to work on my flat speed, yeah.

:11:10. > :11:17.Your disappointment just emphasises how much it means to you, of course.

:11:17. > :11:38.Just keep going, keep pushing. Now the women's 100 metres. And there is

:11:38. > :11:43.Fraser Bryce. It's running that sets her apart from anyone else. But it

:11:43. > :11:51.is about setting goals. But this lady, she needs to feel that she is

:11:51. > :11:59.reigning supreme. Alongside Usain Bolt, she is the best out there.

:11:59. > :12:16.Yes, you can challenge her? But there is real quality here. Two very

:12:16. > :12:29.strong Americans there. As we have been talking about, she has reigned

:12:29. > :12:44.supreme. We will talk about the challenges she has had of late.

:12:44. > :12:59.Injuries caused a few problems. Really, she has had a free ride. The

:12:59. > :13:09.biggest ever winning margin in the world championship. But wait -- but

:13:09. > :13:29.here we have Tiffany Townshend of the USA.

:13:29. > :14:04.Away they go. This is a display of power sprinting. A demonstration,

:14:04. > :14:21.just coming through. But Fraser Price utterly dominant. That really

:14:21. > :14:26.was unchallenged. What a race there! That is a new record. Into a slight

:14:26. > :14:34.headwind as well. Very nice condition and said this evening.

:14:34. > :14:42.Familiar, good start. No real pressure once she is first through.

:14:42. > :14:45.Familiar, good start. No real Clear air between the Jamaican and

:14:45. > :14:50.the rest. And that has been the story of this season. It has been

:14:50. > :14:58.all about her. And a brilliant season of consistency, right from

:14:59. > :15:14.the early meetings. And then, that run in Moscow.

:15:14. > :15:20.Since last year, she has been almost completely dominant. I wonder if she

:15:20. > :15:24.gets her start, but she is really a 200 metre runner. She has the long

:15:24. > :15:30.jump as well. But Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, talk about the demise

:15:30. > :15:36.of others, and Kelly Anne Baptiste. Carmelita Jeter was her real rival

:15:36. > :15:39.but she has had injury problems. It was Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce against

:15:39. > :15:45.the clock there. I wondered if he was going to sneak below 10.70, but

:15:45. > :15:49.a fine way to end the season. There is confirmation of the diamond

:15:49. > :15:55.race, this was already her, she has won the 200 metres as well. So that

:15:55. > :16:00.puts the seal on her dominance in the sprints.

:16:00. > :16:06.Taking her lap of honour inside the stadium here. Here are the results.

:16:06. > :16:19.A meeting record. Two other women sneaking under 11 seconds.

:16:19. > :16:25.Earlier on this afternoon, we had the women's discuss.

:16:25. > :16:30.Melna Robert-Michon of France. A silver medallist in the World

:16:30. > :16:38.Championships, throwing very well, early door, 63.45. She hung on for

:16:38. > :16:42.third. The silver medal here in Brussels went to lieu Swiss small

:16:42. > :16:45.wood. Expected to challenge for a medal.

:16:45. > :16:49.In the World Championships but she was very disappointed with her fifth

:16:49. > :16:54.place performance there. Gia Lewis-Smallwood. It was good enough

:16:54. > :16:57.for second but nobody could touch Sandra Perkovic the

:16:57. > :17:06.for second but nobody could touch World Champion, the big Croatian,

:17:06. > :17:11.spun it out to 67.04. She has been very consistent over the last 24

:17:11. > :17:20.months. She has only lost one of her last 15 performances. That was to

:17:20. > :17:23.the American of 67.04, nobody could surpass that, so she won

:17:23. > :17:28.convincingly in the ind and of course the Diamond League.

:17:28. > :17:32.-- in the end. She was untouchable at the Diamond race winner. It

:17:32. > :17:35.remains to see whether anybody can beat her over the next couple of

:17:35. > :17:40.years. Here are the top three and the rest,

:17:40. > :17:45.but Sandra Perkovic the dominant force in world discuss throwing at

:17:45. > :17:50.the moment. We have a few moments to recap on

:17:50. > :17:53.that performance, she really is head and shoulders above the rest at the

:17:53. > :17:58.moment, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. You could argue this is the last race of

:17:58. > :17:59.the season, she is enjoying her status at the supreme sprinter in

:17:59. > :18:03.the world at the moment, but she status at the supreme sprinter in

:18:03. > :18:07.never eases up. The thing is the most difficult thing for the

:18:07. > :18:10.athletes at this time of year is the meantle battle they have, in picking

:18:10. > :18:16.themselves up again, especially after the season she has had, so

:18:16. > :18:21.successful this year, so consistent, but also having said that, there is

:18:21. > :18:25.an element of relaxation that comes in your running, she shows she is in

:18:25. > :18:31.form. She knows she has to let her arms and legs do the job. Ever since

:18:31. > :18:36.he said it it reminds me of Michael Johnson saying somebody presses a

:18:36. > :18:41.button and she goes, for one so smiley she had an incredible focus,

:18:41. > :18:46.and then she the back to being herself. She is a supreme racer. She

:18:46. > :18:51.is a racer. I think that is the most important thing. She knows what it

:18:51. > :18:56.is about. She has been winning since 20086789 so when you say becoming

:18:56. > :18:57.the Meg star, so was Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. She was the one

:18:57. > :19:01.developing as well. So it is not a Fraser-Pryce. She was the one

:19:01. > :19:05.surprise that what she is doing, I think she is getting the true

:19:05. > :19:10.recognition because she is so dominant. Not only just the one

:19:10. > :19:16.hundred, the 200, she is finding good form in, I think that she is

:19:16. > :19:20.coming into that realm of supremacy. Three years out from Rio, is that

:19:20. > :19:24.too long to maintain that status? I don't think so. I think she makes it

:19:24. > :19:28.look effortless, the big challenge is the injury free. Hopefully we

:19:28. > :19:35.will catch up with her in a moment. It is the men's 200 metre, we were

:19:35. > :19:40.hoping to see Adam Gemili. We are represented with Chris Clarke and

:19:40. > :19:50.James Ellington. There is the full line up there.

:19:50. > :19:58.We are a few seconds away from the start. Worth mentioning that Chris

:19:58. > :19:59.Clarke ran 20.22 in Bedford and all of a sudden has

:19:59. > :20:02.Clarke ran 20.22 in Bedford and all this company.

:20:02. > :20:09.Walter Dix in the middle in lane five. I can't see him. He is 234

:20:09. > :20:15.camouflage. What he wearing? ! Walter Dix is inside Warren Weir, of

:20:15. > :20:18.course the Olympic bronze medallist and world silver medallist behind

:20:18. > :20:25.Bolt. So what can Chris Clarke do here? His first opportunity, in lane

:20:25. > :20:32.three, Ellington is in lane one. Watch out for Ashmeade in four as

:20:32. > :20:37.well. Dix gets a good start in lane five.

:20:37. > :20:41.Chris Clarke trying to chase Ashmeade. Ellington has a good

:20:41. > :20:45.start. In lane one as well, but it is Ashmeade leading them. Then

:20:45. > :20:50.Dixon, weir, starting to pull away, that lovely style of his, Warren

:20:50. > :20:54.Weir going well, finishing quickly, it will be weir from Ashmeade and

:20:54. > :20:58.Dix, Clarke just got the best of the Brits there.

:20:58. > :21:05.-- Wear. Dix got an incredible start Wear not

:21:05. > :21:11.to good. Ashmeade looks add though it might

:21:11. > :21:18.be his night. Warren Weir with 19.87. We have had some great races

:21:18. > :21:23.here, you go back to 2011 and Blake and Dix was second. A great start

:21:23. > :21:28.from the American but Warren Weir seems to get better. I was looking

:21:28. > :21:33.at Chris Clarke in lane three, a big step up from Bedford to Brussels,

:21:33. > :21:38.but Warren Weir is just, there is not much too him but he flows over

:21:38. > :21:43.the final 50 metres, Chris Clarke coming round the bend looked

:21:43. > :21:47.uncomfortable but it is a beautiful finish from Warren Weir, he rightly

:21:47. > :21:52.is the champion of the Diamond League race. If it weren't for Usain

:21:52. > :22:01.Bolt he would be the preeminnocent 200 metre man -- preeminnocent man.

:22:01. > :22:06.He has talked about trying out the 100 more, he is just outsued 10

:22:06. > :22:15.seconds for that, this is where his strength lies and what strength.

:22:15. > :22:20.-- outside. . Weir, he is only going to get

:22:20. > :22:24.better, quicker, whether he will be able to challenge Blake when he

:22:24. > :22:29.comes back and Bolt will be round for at least another three year, he

:22:29. > :22:33.has won the diamond race for the 200 metre, Bolt could have had a go but

:22:33. > :22:40.decided not to, he left the way clear for his team-mate to earn some

:22:40. > :22:45.welcome dollar, 40,000 $. Ashmeade with a season's best and Walter Dix

:22:45. > :22:53.who had a hang string injury and missed most of the season coming

:22:53. > :23:03.back strongly. Chris Clarke 24.45 -- 20.45.

:23:03. > :23:08.Thank you. I can introduce James and Chris into the studio. How do you

:23:08. > :23:12.feel? It was all right. Bit disappointed to have lane one, that

:23:12. > :23:17.is the way can cookie crumble, sometimes, and, it was a good race.

:23:17. > :23:27.I can't complain. I am sure it is Chris Clarke but you have an extra

:23:27. > :23:34.C, I think. I would have liked to have gone quicker. You had that

:23:34. > :23:41.fantastic time earlier in the year. About a month ago I was running

:23:41. > :23:45.20.9. Who knows. . Just wanted to go quick e but I don't know, I felt a

:23:45. > :23:49.bit flat. Compared to the time you posted the other night. What do you

:23:49. > :24:00.put that down to? The time last week? No, tonight.I am not sure. I

:24:00. > :24:05.felt like I was OK, but it wasn't as strong as I was maybe in Bedford two

:24:05. > :24:11.weeks ago. And what happens now? End of the

:24:11. > :24:19.season for you, how do you get on? Not too sure. It is my birthday

:24:19. > :24:24.today. Many happy returns. I didn't mean exactly now? I want to see how

:24:24. > :24:28.I feel later on. I won't party too hard. See how big the celebrations

:24:28. > :24:33.are. I don't normally celebrate but tonight I might have a little dance

:24:33. > :24:37.and that. It has been a World Champion season. It has been good. I

:24:37. > :24:41.can't be disappointed. I am looking forward to next year so I can build

:24:41. > :24:45.on it and running serious times. That is the plan. Good luck with

:24:45. > :24:51.that. Thank you. Thank you Chris. Chris Clarke without a C. Normally.

:24:51. > :24:56.Let us move on then. The women's 3,000 metres steeplechase. A really

:24:56. > :25:00.strong field including Eilish McColgan who came 10th in Moscow.

:25:00. > :25:09.The one and two from Moscow there as well.

:25:09. > :25:20.It has been an injury blighted season for Eilish McColgan. There is

:25:20. > :25:24.the World Champion, Milcah Chemos. The Russians seem to have slipped

:25:24. > :25:28.away and the east Africans are rising. Assefa there, she fell in

:25:28. > :25:32.away and the east Africans are the final of the World Championships

:25:32. > :25:36.but still managed to come through, still managed to come through to

:25:36. > :25:43.take the bronze medal, so she might feel she has a point to prove. The

:25:43. > :25:50.other medallist was Dan Lydiate -- Lidya Chepkurui.

:25:50. > :26:04.The Kenyans and the Ethopians very strong.

:26:05. > :26:11.Eilish McColgan, the problem with her left shin which arose before

:26:11. > :26:16.Rome. She hasn't had the track time. The impact time running, but she is

:26:16. > :26:21.dealing with it well. Person Personal best in the World

:26:21. > :26:26.Championships. She finished tenth. What can she do here? This will be a

:26:26. > :26:31.quick race. We have pacemakers to take it out. So we will see what,

:26:31. > :26:35.what the fancied runners can do and what Eilish McColgan can run.

:26:35. > :26:39.The I think good opportunity for Eilidh as you say, at the front we

:26:39. > :26:48.will see something quick. Schmidt has been asked to do through for the

:26:48. > :26:56.first 1,000. That is because crepe crew who was second to -- Chepkurui

:26:56. > :27:02.says I can't beat chairman. I want to win this race here in Brussels,

:27:02. > :27:06.the only way can I do it is if I have a fast pace. She asked the

:27:06. > :27:11.organisers to get it out there, you can't have a gap like that, you have

:27:11. > :27:16.to go through it. You can't ask for fast pace and not go through. It is

:27:16. > :27:20.up to Chepkurui to get out there hard and try and make it a hard

:27:20. > :27:26.race. Unfortunately it doesn't look as if she is prepared to do that.

:27:26. > :27:31.There is a big screen but it doesn't show the race. She can only find out

:27:31. > :27:40.by looking round. The rest of the race not going with that pace, as we

:27:41. > :27:47.head quickly to the high jump. It is early days.

:27:47. > :27:53.This is Kuchina. She sails over it, the second attempt.

:27:53. > :27:59.It is a terrible attempt first time round. That is better. Form Former

:27:59. > :28:08.world youth champion. She is only 20. One of the stars of the future.

:28:08. > :28:21.She goes clear at 1.93. The pace is beaten out and most refusing to go

:28:21. > :28:26.with Schmidt. Milcah Chemos is hanging bat at the

:28:26. > :28:32.moment. We talked about the Russians, the world record still

:28:32. > :28:38.held by them, the former Olympic champion. She is the only woman who

:28:38. > :28:43.has gone under nine minutes. A six second gap back to the next one.

:28:43. > :28:53.Interesting to see what Chemos can run. I think some of these improve

:28:53. > :28:56.they could go quicker. If you watch Chepkurui, she is the one in the

:28:56. > :29:05.white, what do you call that, hair, help me out. Hair band or whatever,

:29:05. > :29:10.for tying her hair back. She, I thought here is an athlete who

:29:10. > :29:15.Kenyan athlete who will get to grips but this but her hurdle technique,

:29:15. > :29:20.she is taller than the rest, she should make room for the hurdle. She

:29:20. > :29:25.jumps too much. She has got a, a good few inches taller than Chemos.

:29:25. > :29:29.She often stutters going into hurdles as the pacemaker steps off.

:29:29. > :29:35.You see her checking her stride. When we get into the latter part of

:29:35. > :29:46.the race. That Hurd le technique becomes more important. One of the

:29:46. > :29:48.guys who has got a chance of winning the Diamond

:29:48. > :29:59.guys who has got a chance of winning the League for Greece. He is the

:29:59. > :30:07.Diamond League leader at the moment and all he has got to do is finish

:30:07. > :30:22.in the top two. Here goes one of the world's best. In brilliant form this

:30:22. > :30:25.season. He lost the world title. But he still considers himself to be the

:30:25. > :30:27.best in the world at the moment. Early doors yet, but well on the way

:30:27. > :30:53.to winning the Diamond League. She was right on British record pace

:30:53. > :30:59.and if she could just keep in She was right on British record pace

:30:59. > :31:06.with a couple of them coming at the back of the race because it is a

:31:06. > :31:11.hard race. She is strong on the last lap but it is these middle laps

:31:11. > :31:18.where she has two remain in contact. The only European here in this

:31:18. > :31:32.leading contingent. Doing incredibly well. Barbara's record is one in

:31:32. > :31:41.which she is capable of. She has talked about her hurdling technique

:31:41. > :31:52.improving. She does hurdle straight over the water barrier now. She

:31:52. > :31:58.prefers that. And again, just moving past the others. And we had to the

:31:58. > :32:07.high jump. Absolutely sales over there. She has been in brilliant

:32:07. > :32:17.form this year. Russia on top of the medal rostrum. McColgan there, as

:32:18. > :32:23.form this year. Russia on top of the the race continues apace and the

:32:23. > :32:36.sideways hurdling technique of the leaders. McColgan hanging on. She

:32:36. > :32:46.has been working in Nepal and cross trainer. -- in the Paul. These all

:32:46. > :32:58.adds up to seconds, and second that up a little bit further. A real

:32:58. > :33:01.stumble there in the water. Given the job of trying to keep the pace

:33:01. > :33:37.going. Unfortunately, McColgan is dropping

:33:37. > :33:48.well off that British record. She has got to attack it. Try and put a

:33:48. > :34:10.bit of the Burstyn. -- of a burst in. These will begin to separate

:34:10. > :34:14.themselves now. At this stage of the race, you really can lose or gain

:34:14. > :34:26.significant amounts by your hurdling technique. The three medallists from

:34:26. > :34:52.Moscow are out in front. These three, as they come to the Bell...

:34:52. > :35:06.The pace picks up between these four here. But the world champion ahead

:35:06. > :35:11.now. She looks to see where she is and she is right on the shoulder.

:35:11. > :35:18.She felt she could have taken the title had she not fallen in Moscow.

:35:18. > :35:32.She is finishing far stronger. She may have something still to give.

:35:32. > :35:35.But it is between these two. But the world champion coming through to

:35:35. > :35:46.take on the line. She has the stronger finish. She add this title

:35:46. > :35:48.to her world title. She really does endorse that she is the best in the

:35:48. > :36:27.world at the moment. You cannot take this away from the

:36:27. > :36:32.winner. She has just got more pace than everyone else. Even though she

:36:32. > :36:35.doesn't take the hurdles that well, she has enough when she comes off

:36:35. > :36:41.the last hurdle to be able to pick up again and go again, which none of

:36:41. > :36:41.the others are able to do. The Ethiopians are definitely getting

:36:42. > :37:03.better. It's just that changing gear there,

:37:03. > :37:09.coming off the last barrier. She had that extra bit of acceleration and

:37:09. > :37:17.there is no substitute for that. The world champion wins the title here.

:37:17. > :37:22.And McColgan goes to New York for the fifth Ave mile. -- fifth Ave

:37:22. > :37:55.race. And just fails. Big disappointment

:37:55. > :38:06.for Luke. He has made great strides this year. Almost got selected for

:38:06. > :38:12.the world champions ships. His season comes to an end. His best

:38:12. > :38:36.jump today, 5.50. McColgan just inside 9.40, but I

:38:36. > :38:42.know she was hoping for a little bit more than that.

:38:42. > :38:49.The word was in Moscow that you had prepared most of your work of the

:38:49. > :38:55.track and perhaps that would be the last race of the season. However

:38:55. > :39:01.been since then? Exactly the same. I have been doing the cross trainer

:39:01. > :39:09.every day and doing everything I can to maintain my fitness. I feel I am

:39:09. > :39:13.starting to dip a little bit now. I think it is still my third quickest

:39:13. > :39:23.time ever so I can't really complain. I had worked so hard to

:39:23. > :39:31.get myself to Moscow, I felt it would have been a bit of a waste

:39:31. > :39:40.today. I have got this today is my last steeplechase. I have got the

:39:40. > :39:59.New York fifth Avenue Road Marl as well. After New York, what will

:39:59. > :40:02.happen? I will reassess everything and see how the legless, get a scan,

:40:02. > :40:05.see if it is any better, and take a big rest, really. I am going to do

:40:06. > :40:07.4-6 weeks of just nothing, to it heal. Well done, and I know it has

:40:07. > :40:10.been a great effort to get heal. Well done, and I know it has

:40:10. > :40:17.up to the World Championships and beyond. We are building up towards

:40:17. > :40:22.the men's 100 metres. All eyes will be on Usain Bolt, but that man as

:40:22. > :40:28.maids a great breakthrough this season, running under ten seconds,

:40:28. > :40:36.to become the fastest -- the second fastest Brit of all time. Around the

:40:36. > :40:47.hotel, they have been talking about, is he a bit tired? I am not tired at

:40:48. > :40:52.all. I have been rested and had a solid block of training so I am

:40:52. > :41:00.really confident about this race. It is not just Usain Bolt, there is

:41:00. > :41:07.Gatlin, a fresh -- a French guy, a number of Americans. Everyone is

:41:07. > :41:13.running underneath ten seconds so I expected to be very close.

:41:13. > :41:18.Yesterday, he was talking about people coming through and throwing

:41:18. > :41:24.names around, and yours was one of the names that came up. Me and Adam

:41:24. > :41:27.have both made the World Championship final, semi and Adam

:41:27. > :41:36.are out there is one of the better Championship final, semi and Adam

:41:36. > :41:42.British and European sprinters. Me and Adam will always be the names

:41:42. > :41:43.coming up. We will try our best to represent our country in Europe as

:41:43. > :41:57.well. A very level-headed young man.

:41:57. > :42:08.Reported to have had 20 injuries in five years. It was his birthday

:42:08. > :42:14.yesterday. The hero of the world of athletics, doesn't matter where you

:42:14. > :42:19.go, he is the man, of course. And he loves it here in Brussels. At his

:42:19. > :42:25.press conference, he was talking about when he will stop, after Rio,

:42:25. > :42:29.but he was talking about how much he is enjoying himself at the moment.

:42:29. > :42:40.He will be have to be on his game, though, because Justin Gatlin and

:42:41. > :42:51.beat him in Rome, of course. Nesta Carter ran that very quick time in

:42:51. > :43:00.Madrid. Lane eight, Michael Rodgers, the American who came into the World

:43:00. > :43:07.Championships. And bled men, from Trinidad and Tobago, in lane nine.

:43:07. > :43:20.Two we didn't see their, Collins and the French man. He hasn't raced

:43:20. > :43:30.since the World Championships. Usain Bolt was in Zurich last week. In

:43:30. > :43:36.Belgium, everybody loves him. Of course, you can understand the

:43:36. > :43:42.camera is concentrating on Usain Bolt. He seemed very relaxed

:43:42. > :43:59.yesterday and really looking forward to is opportunity here. Usain Bolt

:43:59. > :44:04.needs to be on his best. A pretty good start. Gatlin is going well.

:44:04. > :44:25.And Usain Bolt just starting to come through now. 9.80. And Usain Bolt

:44:25. > :44:33.does what he always does, please is the crowd, pleases himself, wins,

:44:33. > :44:39.almost at ease there. Rodgers came in at a season's best there. What

:44:39. > :44:45.will you do when he finally says goodbye? He has already set the

:44:45. > :44:55.clock ticking on that. While he is here, let's enjoy him. A long year

:44:55. > :45:00.and a year which hasn't always gone the way he would like. But for the

:45:00. > :45:06.second half of the season in particular, he got himself right and

:45:06. > :45:12.has continued through to the end of the year. Who knows what he would do

:45:12. > :45:28.next year? But for now, this is Usain Bolt not exactly flying at his

:45:28. > :45:31.best, but it was pretty good. Again, he knows he has not been at his

:45:31. > :45:34.vintage best this season, that must he knows he has not been at his

:45:34. > :45:39.have been worrying but there is better to come. You wonder if he has

:45:39. > :45:44.peaked in seasons is past, perhaps, that Beijing and Berlin were his

:45:44. > :45:47.greatest moments but he is comfortably better than the rest.

:45:47. > :45:52.You see him alongside Gatlin, who has won the Diamond League. This

:45:52. > :46:00.wasn't a Diamond League race. He has taken the overall. Bolt doesn't gore

:46:00. > :46:05.for that, he wants the big titles and, easily victorious here, once he

:46:05. > :46:10.got into his running, Dasaolu, after that start, I watched him, he was

:46:10. > :46:14.running almost along the line there. You know what I like about him,

:46:14. > :46:20.apart from everything else? He just wants to win. It hasn't diminished.

:46:20. > :46:25.A desire to win is still there in abundance, yes, he has a bit to

:46:25. > :46:30.spare over everybody else but you have to come and do the business as

:46:30. > :46:32.it were. Well there isn't a diamond race, so

:46:32. > :46:44.this is the result. Rogers had a seasons is best. --

:46:44. > :46:48.seasons. Dasaolu was eighth.

:46:48. > :46:56.He is with me now. Hi James, talk us through the race. For me it is about

:46:57. > :47:01.trying to execute, I don't feel like I executed the start as best as I

:47:01. > :47:04.could. So I was lacking a bit. It looked a bit like it wasn't your

:47:04. > :47:10.best start, what, what happened when the gun went? I gave it my best.

:47:10. > :47:16.Maybe I got distracted. But I came out of the block, I might have been,

:47:16. > :47:21.talk you through it now. We will have a look back on it I think maybe

:47:21. > :47:25.I was too low, maybe if I had been higher, you can see I am just

:47:25. > :47:30.drifting a bit to the left, that doesn't help. Just in your lane.So

:47:30. > :47:35.I have lost probably one an extra metre or so. Looking at you in

:47:35. > :47:42.Moscow, you do tend to drift to that side. I don't know, in terms of any

:47:42. > :47:46.of the hip flexor injuries has that been affecting you. The left side is

:47:46. > :47:50.hip I hurt. It makes sense for me to drift to that side if the muscle

:47:50. > :47:55.switches off, but I am trying to run in a straight line as you tend to

:47:55. > :47:59.do, but for me, I was a little to the left a bit. I will try and

:47:59. > :48:02.improve that. Things to improve in the closed season, after a

:48:02. > :48:05.successful season like this, it is the positives you have to take out

:48:05. > :48:10.of the season as well. What do you take out? When I am looking at the

:48:10. > :48:14.season I had goals of running sub ten, I have done that. I made the

:48:14. > :48:21.final in Moscow, I hope to improve on that year on year and challenge

:48:21. > :48:25.for medals. Yeah. It has been a great season, to run sub ten, second

:48:26. > :48:31.pastest British man of all time, getting to that final in Moscow, all

:48:31. > :48:35.the things you go into the long hard winter months that you can draw on.

:48:35. > :48:40.I think it is great when the top sprinters are looking at our boys

:48:40. > :48:44.and saying respect. You announced yourself into being true world class

:48:44. > :48:48.athletes and you deliver when it matter, in your mind set to go into

:48:48. > :48:52.the winter knowing people respect your performances it inspires you a

:48:52. > :48:58.bit more, when it is dark and cold, to put that extra work in. As you

:48:58. > :49:01.said in the meeting, it has been a great summer for British sprinting,

:49:01. > :49:06.with Adam Gemili going sub 20 in that final as well, and other strong

:49:06. > :49:12.performances which must help when the pack is going well. Of course,

:49:12. > :49:17.from senior level to the European, junior level we had world youth

:49:17. > :49:22.medals so all event, across the board, you have seen us pick up

:49:22. > :49:27.medals. It bodes well for British sprinting. Inspiring each otherOf

:49:27. > :49:32.course, thank you. Big season next year, European Championship,

:49:32. > :49:36.Commonwealth Game, enjoy the closed season. We are coming up to the

:49:37. > :49:46.women's 400 metres, Christine Ohuruogu with that incredible win in

:49:46. > :49:52.Moscow, her rival was beaten on the line. She is an incredible champion.

:49:52. > :49:57.The only British female to win a second gold medal on the world

:49:57. > :50:02.stage. She spoke to Steve earlier. Will she

:50:02. > :50:08.be quick enough Amantle Montsho, will she get there. Christine is

:50:08. > :50:11.coming, she just made it. Did she get it?

:50:11. > :50:20.We are waiting. She's looking. We're looking.

:50:20. > :50:26.She's got it! Another gold medal, Christine Ohuruogu is the World

:50:26. > :50:30.Champion again. It was great I had won and great I

:50:30. > :50:34.got the British record but it was more the race, people remember the

:50:34. > :50:42.race itself as opposed to the result. You know, a few people have

:50:42. > :50:46.told me they have had heart attacks, and they lost their voice, and I

:50:46. > :50:52.think it is more the excitement of the race, and that is good. It is

:50:52. > :50:56.great to kind of whip up that kind of his #2er contra, it is good to

:50:56. > :51:02.give people something nice to remember. Can you do that in a

:51:02. > :51:05.one-off race. People will look at you, it's the Championships where

:51:05. > :51:10.you are the Christine Ohuruogu at her best comes out. Can you do it in

:51:11. > :51:15.a Diamond League race? Yes, I can. I think once I set my mind to it, I

:51:16. > :51:21.ran well in London, Birmingham, whenever I have to do it, I do it.

:51:21. > :51:26.It seems to be a theme. But it is about, you know, I have learned a

:51:26. > :51:31.lot from the season, so it is about being able to judge the race well

:51:31. > :51:35.enough. It's a big ask, but it is still, I still go for it, regardless

:51:35. > :51:39.whether it can be done or not, I try my hardest. Well she can't win the

:51:39. > :51:42.whether it can be done or not, I try Diamond League race because Amantle

:51:42. > :51:49.Montsho can't be caught but she has raced more than she normally raced.

:51:50. > :51:53.She has increased her racing programme this year. Yes, I think

:51:53. > :51:57.she knew she had to do something different. This is a very important

:51:57. > :52:01.year for her, off the back of the Olympics, she needed to race, she

:52:01. > :52:05.has done that and managed to time, as she does, her best performances

:52:05. > :52:09.for the Championships. I think she can run well here, she is relaxed

:52:09. > :52:11.and she knows she has the work in her legs. First time she has been

:52:11. > :52:16.back on the track against Amantle her legs. First time she has been

:52:16. > :52:20.Montsho since Moscow. Will there have been a doubt about coming out

:52:20. > :52:25.one more time after that dramatic finish to that final. She will enjoy

:52:25. > :52:29.the challenge. She will know that Amantle Montsho wants to do. I think

:52:29. > :52:31.Christine will go I am the World Champion, I got that because I

:52:31. > :52:40.worked so hard. Let us go to the track then.

:52:40. > :52:43.Here we are, nearly a month later. This is the World Championship final

:52:43. > :52:49.Here we are, nearly a month later. again, all eight are here.

:52:49. > :52:56.Libania Grenot the fastest not to qualify from the semifinals. This as

:52:56. > :53:01.good as it gets. Can Christine Ohuruogu transform that big

:53:01. > :53:11.championship form into this year. Can she go below 50 seconds I wonder

:53:11. > :53:16.outwith a major Championship? Kseniya Ryzhova finished in third

:53:16. > :53:19.place in the World Championships. There is Libania Grenot. The Cuban

:53:19. > :53:48.turned Italian. Lane four we have Natasha Hastings.

:53:48. > :53:51.Francena McCorory in lane six. Amantle Montsho has won the

:53:51. > :53:55.indictment league race. She still has nightmares where she

:53:55. > :54:01.is leaning back, and Christine Ohuruogu is sneaking through to the

:54:01. > :54:02.world title. Can she reverse it here or will Christine Ohuruogu triumph

:54:02. > :54:14.again? Away they go. And we know, we know

:54:14. > :54:19.that Christine Ohuruogu will leave it late. She always does, but how

:54:19. > :54:25.can this lift her, this meeting? She is sitting back at the moment.

:54:25. > :54:29.Sitting back, as Amantle Montsho tries to move through and Christine

:54:29. > :54:33.Ohuruogu in lane five. We know she has a lot left in the final one

:54:33. > :54:39.hundred metres but Amantle Montsho looks strong. As we expected.

:54:39. > :54:44.Out wide as well, the two Russians off strongly.

:54:44. > :54:48.In lane three, Amantle Montsho comes round in the lead.

:54:48. > :54:52.Will she yield this time? In fact she is alongside. She has company in

:54:52. > :54:58.Natasha Hastings, Hastings looks stronger. Co-Christine Ohuruogu

:54:58. > :55:02.looks spent. She has nothing at all. Hastings might take this and Natasha

:55:02. > :55:05.Hastings has the victory from Amantle Montsho. Christine Ohuruogu

:55:05. > :55:11.languishes a bit. She has nothing more. But Hastings, she led coming

:55:11. > :55:16.round the bend from Amantle Montsho. A smile from Christine Ohuruogu, she

:55:16. > :55:20.congratulates the winner, but Christine Ohuruogu nowhere there,

:55:20. > :55:26.and Amantle Montsho beaten, a rare defeat, only Christine Ohuruogu

:55:26. > :55:30.McCorory have beaten her. Natasha Hastings outside 50 seconds. Some

:55:30. > :55:35.tired bodies out there in that race, but a good victory from Natasha

:55:35. > :55:38.Hastings. I agree. And that is what happen,

:55:38. > :55:41.the meet director was talking about I agree. And that is what happen,

:55:42. > :55:46.you never know as a meet director what you are going to get. Amantle

:55:46. > :55:50.Montsho does win the diamond race, she has been the most consistent

:55:50. > :55:54.throughout the season. She didn't win the one she wanted to, the World

:55:54. > :55:58.Championships which Christine pipped her on the line, but Christine never

:55:58. > :56:02.got into it. Round the top, where she is normally good. She puts

:56:02. > :56:08.herself in a position, then she looks tired at this point. She is

:56:09. > :56:14.still work working. Hastings takes the win, probably one of the worst

:56:14. > :56:19.400s, we, we have seen. Not a great one to finish on. It has been a long

:56:19. > :56:22.year. Amantle Montsho started early but she has been rewarded with the

:56:22. > :56:47.win in the diamond race. Christine Ohuruogu still has great

:56:47. > :56:51.memories from this year. Look who has turned up Usain Bolt

:56:51. > :56:55.has finished his lap of honour, the first thing you usually ask us is

:56:55. > :57:10.your reaction time. We will tell you live. Not going to let you see it.

:57:10. > :57:15.0. 180. No! ! I need to work on it. That was poor. The time was better.

:57:15. > :57:19.The time was better. Getting to your best time of the season. You said

:57:19. > :57:24.earlier in the week, the one hundred would be the harder world record to

:57:24. > :57:29.break. You feel that, that is as fast as you can run or can you run

:57:29. > :57:34.fast never I can run faster. It is about, I started my season off

:57:34. > :57:37.poorly. Got injured, then the older you get the harder it is to get back

:57:37. > :57:40.poorly. Got injured, then the older from injury. I have to make sure

:57:40. > :57:44.during the season I don't get injured and continue working, then

:57:44. > :57:48.when I get into the season it should be good. Have you enjoyed this

:57:48. > :57:53.season? Yes, kind of. It wasn't the perfect season, or the best season

:57:53. > :57:58.of my career but I think the main thing is I finish on top and I

:57:58. > :58:04.dominated so that is good. Steve Cram said earlier when we were

:58:04. > :58:07.enjoying the #1re7ion you got here -- reception you got here, was what

:58:07. > :58:11.are we are going to do, what will the sport do when this man decides

:58:11. > :58:16.he has had enough? We are looking for signs you might not be enjoying

:58:16. > :58:19.it as much. I still enjoy what I do. I said it in a press conference this

:58:19. > :58:23.is one of best crowds, the guys give me energy no matter what, this

:58:23. > :58:26.season I was coming out here, thinking about wink, after that I

:58:26. > :58:30.was like, you know what I need to run fast and see what I can do. It

:58:30. > :58:37.wasn't the perfect start. If I had got a better start it would be 9.7

:58:37. > :58:42.or below. I am going to say what you could do. Try running a few indoor

:58:42. > :58:46.meets. Could work. You need a sense of

:58:46. > :58:51.urgency when you do the 60 flat. That may be something that will

:58:51. > :58:57.start to get you triggered? Is that something you have thought about. I

:58:57. > :59:03.asked my coach but we haven't really discussed it. Not much need for

:59:03. > :59:08.indoors in Jamaica. When you run 60 metres, it is not 100 metres, I have

:59:08. > :59:14.to try and make sure I get into the race at the start, so it would be a

:59:14. > :59:17.good idea to try. For us with we are excited about the Commonwealth Games

:59:17. > :59:22.and you didn't quite commit to that. I don't know what I am doing. My

:59:22. > :59:27.coach makes the big decision I would love to go. I have said I would love

:59:27. > :59:29.to go and say I have a Commonwealth gold medal but my coach is the one

:59:29. > :59:32.that decides whether it is the best gold medal but my coach is the one

:59:32. > :59:37.thing or not. We will see what happens. You know, it goes without

:59:37. > :59:42.saying we want you in Glasgow next summer. We will do anything to get

:59:42. > :59:47.you there. We have loved you, enjoy your rest. Enjoy the down time.

:59:48. > :59:58.Thank you for chatting to us. Bye guys.

:59:58. > :00:00.He is going nowhere. Let's get out and enjoy some more field for the

:00:00. > :00:19.moment. The only one attempting five metres

:00:19. > :00:29.81. Haley goes. First attempt. And he sails over! That was a lovely

:00:29. > :00:37.vault! Still on course to win the $40,000. Somehow, he has got to try

:00:37. > :00:44.vault! Still on course to win the and make sure he is down in third

:00:44. > :00:52.place. He has been so dominant so far this season. He only won the

:00:53. > :00:56.silver medal in the World Championships, a massive

:00:56. > :01:00.disappointment to him. That's an interesting view. There is one of

:01:00. > :01:06.his supporters, his coach, just watching, and he nailed that one. It

:01:06. > :01:12.wasn't way over, but it was a very good old indeed. -- very good malt

:01:12. > :01:29.indeed. The men's 800 metres next. Solomon,

:01:29. > :01:37.a man who was hoping for better in the World Championships. Outside

:01:37. > :01:52.him, we have Muhammad, and then silly man. -- silly man.

:01:52. > :02:04.I am looking down there. Mohammed is not there, actually. Lane five is

:02:04. > :02:15.empty. The pace they have set is reasonably quick. Simmons says he

:02:15. > :02:24.wants to be the fastest American of the year. The fastest man so far in

:02:24. > :02:29.this season is Solomon himself. He will be following the pace, as we

:02:29. > :02:45.would expect. Getting swallowed up there. Any race with Duane Solomon

:02:45. > :02:56.usually has as the pacemaker. The genuine pacemaker comes through.

:02:56. > :03:13.They come through a little bit too quick. That is very quick. You must

:03:13. > :03:18.be wondering, this is like the Olympics all over again. But they

:03:18. > :03:29.are running at a cracking pace. The 1500 metre man leading it at the

:03:29. > :03:37.moment. Submitted -- 70 5.2, that is incredibly quick! The two Americans

:03:37. > :03:44.looking for scrap said. But it is the world champion coming away.

:03:44. > :03:50.Ethiopia have never won a gold medal in the 800 metres and he has won it

:03:50. > :03:59.there! Brilliant running from the Ethiopian. What a year he has had.

:03:59. > :04:07.Win, win, win! World championship gold medal, and now, the fastest in

:04:07. > :04:16.the world. Goodness me! He can hold as head up high. I quite like this

:04:16. > :04:24.guy. He talks really well about how proud he is. Men and women have

:04:25. > :04:31.never won an 800 metre gold medal in Ethiopian. He was so proud of his

:04:31. > :04:34.achievement in Moscow. When they went through that 600 metres, that

:04:34. > :04:38.achievement in Moscow. When they was super fast. I thought he would

:04:38. > :04:48.fade there, but he kept it going well. I think the pace was too quick

:04:48. > :05:02.for sole -- for Solomon. And this is why he has come away with an

:05:02. > :05:17.Ethiopian record. This was very, very quickly indeed. A national

:05:17. > :05:26.record for him. Brilliant run. A new national record. That puts in the

:05:26. > :05:32.world 's top ten of all time. He, of course, wins the Diamond League

:05:32. > :05:33.race. Solomon and Simmons share the points for second and third place

:05:34. > :05:54.there. A season is best for Simmons. We will talk to Christine about your

:05:54. > :06:05.400. How difficult was it to race again after Moscow? I thought it

:06:05. > :06:11.would be quite nice to try and keep the momentum going. I know I have

:06:11. > :06:19.got good runs in me but it is more mentally tough than it was. It is

:06:19. > :06:29.much harder trying to get yourself back up. It's almost like, well,

:06:29. > :06:33.what am I hoping for? You said in Moscow will not only was winning

:06:33. > :06:37.gold the focus, but getting the British record. When you have done

:06:37. > :06:43.both of those on the same day, mentally, there is very little left?

:06:43. > :06:49.There is, but I was trying to set myself up to come out. After having

:06:49. > :06:55.ten days recovery, I can come out and run a bit better than I did. I

:06:55. > :07:09.would have liked to have had more of a sharper run. There you are,

:07:09. > :07:20.finishing of the race. It wasn't as sharp. But it's cool. It's just

:07:20. > :07:28.wonderful you get the adulation here. Yeah, really great crowd. The

:07:28. > :07:34.Brussels crowd are super. They have cheered us on from the start. Let's

:07:34. > :07:47.go outside for a bit more field now. It is the crowd that are firmly

:07:48. > :07:55.behind this athlete now. Only two athletes left. And she just failed

:07:56. > :08:00.it. She has had a number of failures throughout this competition. She

:08:00. > :08:14.would normally sail over these heights. Her archrival, Svetlana, a

:08:14. > :08:26.fellow Russian, has taken the lead at the moment. Two more attempts

:08:26. > :08:32.left. The battle continues. Not just for this high jump competition, but

:08:32. > :08:40.for the whole Diamond League race. She has seen what she did it to

:08:40. > :08:45.metres. She would love to get the advantage. First-time clearance

:08:45. > :08:51.would be brilliant. Certainly established her as the number one at

:08:51. > :08:58.the moment. And she was a long way over there! Goodness me, she made it

:08:58. > :09:07.look so easy! Just looking a little bit cross. She will go again. If she

:09:07. > :09:12.wins this competition, she wins the Diamond League race. She is behind

:09:12. > :09:13.by a single point at the moment. Eight points on offer for the winner

:09:13. > :09:37.and she has the advantage now. A huge relief for me because in

:09:37. > :09:43.2011, I thought that would be my year to get a medal, and it didn't

:09:43. > :09:50.quite happen. A little frustration. I was over the moon when I was

:09:50. > :09:54.finally able to say, I have a medal in my arsenal! When you come to an

:09:54. > :10:07.event like this at the end of a long year, how do you kind of motivate

:10:07. > :10:12.yourself? I think, for me, just kind of reminding myself at this point,

:10:12. > :10:17.it's just about having fun in being competitive, but at the same time,

:10:17. > :10:20.enjoying it. At this point in the season, the Championships are done,

:10:20. > :10:28.the pressure is off your shoulders a little bit. That just adds a little

:10:28. > :10:32.bit more element of fun. I get a little anxious when I haven't

:10:32. > :10:34.competed in a while. It's been now two weeks since my last race.

:10:34. > :10:42.competed in a while. It's been now Hopefully, I will put on a good

:10:42. > :10:49.show. We will see. We will be heading down to that race in a

:10:49. > :10:54.moment. How do you see your race? A bit of a struggle, and of the

:10:55. > :10:59.season, along one. But a half decent race in the end. Always a

:10:59. > :11:06.season, along one. But a half decent place to race. My first time here

:11:06. > :11:13.and I absolutely love it. This week, no sticking your tongue out

:11:13. > :11:19.behind Colin NI! Let's get down to the women's high hurdles.

:11:19. > :11:31.Tiffany Porter here goes in lane three. The first medal for a British

:11:31. > :11:39.athlete in the World Championships. We don't have the newly crowned

:11:39. > :12:09.world champions herself, but we do have Tiffany Porter there.

:12:09. > :12:45.Plenty of support. Great crowd. Harper-Nelson goes in lane four. And

:12:45. > :12:55.there is Pearson. Kellie Wells, bronze medallist at the Olympics.

:12:55. > :13:03.Missed out in the US trials. The Russian also made the World

:13:03. > :13:13.Championship final. As did Cindy, finished seventh, the French

:13:13. > :13:22.athlete. And finally, Hildebrand of Germany. Just a reminder of the way

:13:22. > :13:52.they do a line-up here. Porter goes in three.

:13:52. > :14:09.The women's 100 metre hurdles. Away they go. And Pearson just first to

:14:09. > :14:13.the hurdle. Beautiful technique they go. And Pearson just first to

:14:13. > :14:16.coming over the hurdles. Harper-Nelson is finishing well and

:14:16. > :14:25.she would come through and take this! Dawn Harper-Nelson, despite

:14:25. > :14:35.that strong start from Sally Pearson, she comes through to take

:14:35. > :14:49.the bigotry. We mentioned she has also beaten Pearson before. Dawn

:14:49. > :14:54.Harper-Nelson, the winner. That is what you do when we finish

:14:54. > :15:00.commentating, isn't it? I'm off to do it now! The old Sally Pearson,

:15:00. > :15:05.and we know she has had the injury problems since the beginning of the

:15:05. > :15:10.year, at this point, they are neck and neck, stally got a good start

:15:10. > :15:16.but Sally isn't able to maintain, she doesn't have the same background

:15:16. > :15:24.and obviously great hurdling skill but can't make the speed.

:15:24. > :15:27.Harper-Nelson, it has been an incredibly competitive event. She

:15:27. > :15:32.missed out in the world, but you finish on a high, and, Tiffany

:15:32. > :15:37.Porter will be disappointed with a 12, she only dos in at 12.78. Not

:15:37. > :15:41.the best race she would have enjoyed today. You have to hand it to

:15:41. > :15:46.Harper-Nelson, she has been consistent, and hits a season high

:15:46. > :15:58.right when she needs it in Brussels here. Yes, harm Harper-Nelson --

:15:58. > :16:03.Sally there wasn't the speed there. That is how the diamond race

:16:03. > :16:13.finishes. Harper-Nelson wrapped it up and makes it more emphatic.

:16:13. > :16:17.This is how it finished, and Sally Pearson again, next season will be a

:16:17. > :16:19.strong one for he she will look to the Commonwealth Game, as well.

:16:19. > :16:32.Cindy Billaud through as well. The Olympic champion Christian

:16:32. > :16:42.Taylor getting ready for his third round jump. 16.65 his best so far.

:16:42. > :16:49.He is behind his team-mate Will Claye. Teddy Tamgho has had two

:16:49. > :16:56.fouls. This looks better. Getting on to 17 metres unbelievably despite we

:16:56. > :17:02.have the best triple jumpers in the world here, there is nobody over 17

:17:02. > :17:09.metre metres yet. Teddy Tamgho won with the third longest jump in

:17:09. > :17:15.history in Moscow. 18.04. Some bigger no jumps as well.

:17:15. > :17:20.That has brought a smile to Christian Taylor's face. He has won

:17:20. > :17:28.the Diamond League race already, he has 19 points before. 16.89. Goes

:17:28. > :17:33.into the lead. Julian Reid in last place. He is doing better than Teddy

:17:33. > :17:38.Tamgho. The Frenchman has to get a jump on the board here.

:17:38. > :17:44.Off balance but that looks as though... Will it get him in the top

:17:44. > :17:52.eight. Only eight will go through. There is ten all together. Means

:17:52. > :17:57.Julian reed go out. -- Julian Reid goes out. So hopefully the French

:17:57. > :18:01.ace will be able to relax, produce better technique and produce

:18:01. > :18:07.something spectacular in the last three rounds.

:18:07. > :18:11.It is getting quite windy out there, but generally speaking, the wind

:18:11. > :18:16.favours the athletes. There have been one or two slight

:18:16. > :18:20.head winds. That was a similar jump he produced in the World

:18:20. > :18:39.Championships where he produced something good. 16.88.

:18:39. > :18:45.This to get over, he does it easily. Lavillenie. Filippidis has already

:18:45. > :18:50.had one failure. And that means Lavillenie, he has

:18:50. > :18:57.got the advantage. And if the Greek champion wants to

:18:57. > :19:04.win this pole vault, he has to go higher than he has ever been before.

:19:04. > :19:10.5.86 looks very comfortable indeed. I wonder what is in store for Renaud

:19:10. > :19:13.Lavillenie. That sort of form, goodness knows

:19:13. > :19:18.Lavillenie. how high he can go. Eyes on the

:19:18. > :19:21.coach. No emotion really, just a little wry smile that said, yeah, my

:19:21. > :19:36.man has done it well. Lavillenie one of the great

:19:36. > :19:42.disappointments of the World Championship, the gold look looked

:19:42. > :19:45.southern to be his but Championships don't always work out the way you

:19:45. > :20:00.want them to. Hannah England seemed pleased with

:20:00. > :20:04.her performance. She was fourth in Moscow and there was a bit of a

:20:04. > :20:07.debate going on between you guys about whether she should have been

:20:07. > :20:11.pleased with that, and should she have managed her race better? I

:20:12. > :20:16.think so, that was the debate. If she had been in contention earlier,

:20:16. > :20:21.should she or could she have got the medal. I am sure she is scapable of

:20:21. > :20:26.getting them. She needs to race well here, she has finished well and be

:20:26. > :20:28.optimistic with the coming season to come.

:20:28. > :20:43.Steve Cram is your commentator. A great 1500 set up here.

:20:43. > :20:47.Hassan will be a big name coming up. The Dutch, Ethopian, she is running

:20:47. > :20:53.for Ethiopia, she will be running for Holland next year, Sifan Hassan.

:20:53. > :20:58.So others to watch apart from Hannah England. That is good. We have had a

:20:58. > :21:07.false start. Gives me a bit more time.

:21:07. > :21:14.There is Lavillenie in the pole vault. 5.96. He has won now, can he

:21:14. > :21:22.go higher? Yes, he can. A beautiful jump by the Frenchman.

:21:22. > :21:28.His first time clearances every step of the way. The man who will finish

:21:28. > :21:33.as the world number one, despite the fact he hasn't got the gold medal

:21:33. > :21:37.from the World Championships in his pocket.

:21:37. > :21:47.So the pace initially was going to be round 2.8 then Abeba Aregawi,

:21:47. > :21:52.Simpson were asking the organisers for quicker. Abeba Aregawi said can

:21:52. > :22:00.we have 2.5, 2.6. Phoebe Wright will have the job of doing that, then

:22:00. > :22:04.Mary Kuria who is in second, she is going to have some pace making

:22:04. > :22:06.duties. Where is Abeba Aregawi? She has to be up there, she has to be

:22:06. > :22:10.duties. Where is Abeba Aregawi? She latching on to them. At the moment,

:22:10. > :22:13.she is not. Abeba Aregawi must be aware that she didn't win that gold

:22:14. > :22:19.medal with ease, it was a good performance from her, but Jenny

:22:19. > :22:25.Simpson defended well she was close, she is in the all black on the

:22:25. > :22:29.inside. Abeba Aregawi letting the pacemakers go, watching they don't

:22:29. > :22:34.go too fast, but we could be set up for something good here.

:22:34. > :22:42.Very familiar position for Hannah England. She hugs the inside. She

:22:42. > :22:48.doesn't waste an inch over 1500. The pacemakers are taking it out. Abeba

:22:48. > :22:55.Aregawi is in fourth place, a bit of a a gap between the body of the race

:22:55. > :23:00.and the pacemakers. Wright was being asked to take it

:23:00. > :23:06.through in 2.6 or 7. There is that gap opening to the pacemakers. This

:23:06. > :23:14.must be frustrating. The athletes have said, she has been in Ethiopia

:23:14. > :23:19.training since Moscow, she was meant to be aiming for this, and all of a

:23:19. > :23:23.sudden, you are well within your rights to run a tactical race don't

:23:23. > :23:30.ask the organisers to set it out quick. All the others have been

:23:30. > :23:34.waiting for her to go. Simpson is taking it on. And Yekaterina

:23:34. > :23:39.Sharmina. Abeba Aregawi is saying, thank you I will start in behind

:23:39. > :23:41.you. Playing some games the Swedish athlete. This is what happens when

:23:41. > :23:45.you. Playing some games the Swedish it is slow. They are pushing,

:23:45. > :23:49.looking for a position as they approach 800. Phoebe Wright looking

:23:49. > :23:54.round. She is supposed to take them through in 2.06. She will step

:23:54. > :23:58.aside. It was not that quick. Nobody was with them. They were looking

:23:59. > :24:01.round, saying nobody is coming with us, the pacemakers almost redundant.

:24:01. > :24:05.Kuria is next to do that. Hannah us, the pacemakers almost redundant.

:24:05. > :24:10.England is on the inside at the moment. It is very bunched.

:24:10. > :24:15.Hassan is Vice Chancellor a cracking year, she is a thrownian refugee,

:24:15. > :24:18.moved to Holland six years ago, only started running seriously a couple

:24:18. > :24:23.of seasons issing a, she has got better and better. She couldn't go

:24:23. > :24:28.to the World Championships, she has moved to the front. Simpson on the

:24:28. > :24:33.inside. Hannah England a little box on the curve at the moment. Kuria

:24:33. > :24:37.brings them to the bell, but they are all there. Everybody is in with

:24:37. > :24:43.a chance. Not bad for Hannah England but it is not a blistering pace.

:24:43. > :24:55.This was the dangerous. There it is. It is carnage as they hit the bell.

:24:55. > :25:00.All, not all go Buckman looks hurt. Pils went down. So, if that is a

:25:00. > :25:08.result of the pace, it wasn't the pacemaker's fault. It was the fact

:25:08. > :25:11.the other women didn't go with it. Obiri, Yekaterina Sharmina. That

:25:11. > :25:14.race has been decimated. Hannah England managed to negotiate

:25:14. > :25:19.her way through that. Abeba Aregawi in the front now.

:25:19. > :25:24.Simpson completely gone as well. Looking further down the track.

:25:24. > :25:30.Abeba Aregawi, Simpson is walking off. Abeba Aregawi will kick away, I

:25:30. > :25:38.am sure. There is no doubt about her ability to be do that. Mercy

:25:38. > :25:44.Cherono. So a ruined race. Abeba Aregawi is going to win it. It won't

:25:44. > :25:52.be particularly fast. Mercy Cherono, then Obiri, then Rowbury. When you

:25:52. > :25:54.look at, Hannah coming in fifth there. We have seen this time and

:25:54. > :25:57.etime again, you there. We have seen this time and

:25:57. > :26:02.a slow race from the start those things can happen, but she can't go,

:26:02. > :26:06.and I know I can sometimes get criticises for having a go at the

:26:06. > :26:10.pacemaker scenario, you can't ask the organisers to set them out and

:26:10. > :26:13.not follow, and then that is all that happens, Simpson coming in,

:26:13. > :26:18.giving her a smile there. This is where it went down. Simpson caused

:26:18. > :26:26.it all. See if we can see, it is Hassan in front of her. Hannah

:26:26. > :26:31.England was almost in the run. She was hell well there, the race was

:26:31. > :26:35.ruined because so many good athletes were hampered and some went down.

:26:35. > :26:40.Abeba Aregawi we suspected might win it, she did, but not the whole

:26:40. > :26:44.story. Very sad to see. Not unpredictable with the way the race

:26:44. > :26:49.was going. Hard to see what happened there.

:26:49. > :26:53.Hassan was in a good position, then for whatever reason she fell down,

:26:53. > :26:58.clipped the heels of who was in front of her. It maybe that Kuria

:26:58. > :27:04.was slowing down. Let us see if we can have another look. There is the

:27:04. > :27:10.pacemaker, Hassan is on the curb there. She trips over her own feet

:27:10. > :27:15.or is he caught from behind. Hannah England does well to side step on

:27:15. > :27:22.the signed. Buckman, Anderson, Yekaterina Sharmina, and of course

:27:22. > :27:29.Simpson in the mid middle. Simpson got up and got move moving because

:27:29. > :27:37.the race was gone. Zoe Buckman ran well in the World Championship, she

:27:37. > :27:40.hobbled off the track there. Well, she takes the cash and the gold

:27:40. > :27:42.medal, but won't take the plaudits for that here tonight, it was a

:27:42. > :27:47.messy race, a shame, it was set up for that here tonight, it was a

:27:47. > :27:51.to be very fast, I am sure Hannah England will be disappointed with

:27:51. > :27:57.the way that turned out. Hannah, hi, how did you see that,

:27:57. > :28:03.because Steve said you would be disappointed I feet good at 500 to

:28:03. > :28:06.go. I felt, just, I had to jump over the girl,ic took a lot of steps on

:28:07. > :28:11.the signed. I don't know if I have been disqualified. I had to jump

:28:11. > :28:16.over. We will show you again. Have a look on the monitor there. Nobody

:28:17. > :28:22.really can get to the bottom of why this happened? I think some of the

:28:22. > :28:25.girls to the outside were trying to get out, because it was at the bell.

:28:25. > :28:30.I have no idea how I didn't fall over. At the end of the day if they

:28:30. > :28:34.want to disqualify me, I didn't have a choice. It was that or go down. I

:28:34. > :28:41.think you did very well to recover from that. I can't see else how else

:28:41. > :28:47.you could have done that That was so hard. I had to jump over the board.

:28:47. > :28:52.I don't know how I stayed up I had so much adrenaline, it was hard that

:28:52. > :28:57.last lap to get in the zone and run, it is a shame that is my last track,

:28:57. > :29:02.1500. You finished in one piece. You happy with your season? Yes, I think

:29:02. > :29:09.I peaked at Championships and I am happy. I feel I still have a fast

:29:09. > :29:18.time to give. We will head off to the men's 5,000. It is the men's

:29:18. > :29:26.5,000 metres. Everyone behind Mo is be out there. One notable absentee,

:29:26. > :29:31.he will normally be getting ready, but me of is missing, but, the other

:29:31. > :29:44.nine from the top ten in Moscow are here. This is the line-up for the

:29:44. > :29:59.men's 5000 metres. Garrett he will be setting the pace

:29:59. > :31:31.in this one. -- guarantee. Away they go and we hope it will be

:31:31. > :31:38.a quick one. I don't know how Mo Farah would cope with this pace. No

:31:38. > :31:48.one has really come up with a really quick race. But Mo Farah is just not

:31:48. > :31:59.interested in winning titles. Who will win this one and how quick will

:31:59. > :32:09.it be? Mo Farah is gritting -- getting ready for the great North

:32:09. > :32:19.run, of course. He has got a busy year next year as well. Anyway, his

:32:19. > :32:27.coach is never too far away. We saw this a little earlier. This is a

:32:27. > :32:30.replay of his attempted 6.04, equalling the highest jump in

:32:30. > :32:37.history. That's how good this guy is. Still one attempt left. The

:32:37. > :32:47.money is in the bank and he really wants to establish himself as one of

:32:47. > :32:56.the best. Chance for Teddy. Got the two Americans ahead of him at the

:32:56. > :33:01.moment, Justin Taylor and will play. A fantastic double act from the

:33:01. > :33:09.United States. That is better. And the first man to go over 70 metres

:33:09. > :33:17.in this triple jump on petition. Not quite sure what that's about! Even

:33:17. > :33:27.in his warm up, they were cheering him. Earlier on this evening, that

:33:27. > :33:31.was so simple. He wasn't extending himself at all there. Just a little

:33:31. > :33:41.bit more speed on the runway. In case you are interested, when he

:33:41. > :33:54.jumped 18.04, it was a six metre 58 jump at the end. There he is, in the

:33:54. > :33:55.lead now by some margin. The field strung out because they are going

:33:55. > :34:24.along at decent pace. Very different of race. A good job.

:34:24. > :34:32.He is reliable. They were wanting to run him exactly at 62. He keeps

:34:32. > :34:49.looking behind because they are not quite going with him. It's what

:34:49. > :34:55.happens after 3000. Last round, last jump for the French man. He hasn't

:34:55. > :35:01.got a chance of winning the Diamond League but he would love to but a

:35:01. > :35:08.big jump out here. And he may have done... Just. Nobody else has

:35:08. > :35:13.managed to get close. Both Taylor and accolade, the two Americans, in

:35:13. > :35:18.second and third place, still have their final jump to come. Even as he

:35:18. > :35:22.second and third place, still have rocked forward there, a little bit

:35:22. > :35:31.of danger. He could've made a mark on the Pleistocene. That may be a

:35:31. > :35:36.little bit further. Slightly off balance on the jump phase but still

:35:36. > :35:44.pretty useful. Have the Americans got to chase something a little bit

:35:44. > :35:52.further than 17.27? Yes, they have. The Frenchman still in the lead. And

:35:52. > :36:05.still, the pacemaker at a decent pace. A little bit more reluctant to

:36:06. > :36:29.come with him. He was hoping to get close to the US record. Still moving

:36:29. > :36:45.along quite a good pace. Those are the guys chasing.

:36:45. > :36:58.But further down, the man leading in the championships has decided to sit

:36:58. > :37:06.right at the back there. Interesting. The other battle taking

:37:06. > :37:25.place there is that battle for the Diamond League race. The sole

:37:25. > :37:33.remaining pacemaker takes them out. The pace was really good the first

:37:33. > :37:36.1000 metres. But just trying to tease the field after them. The

:37:36. > :37:51.second kilometre was a little bit slower. We know they will pick it up

:37:51. > :37:59.the last 1000 metres. Here is Taylor. Last jump in the triple

:37:59. > :38:08.jump. And Christian Taylor has not got it. But he has won the race and

:38:08. > :38:16.the $40,000. There's the winner of the triple jump, Teddy. But

:38:16. > :38:23.Christian Taylor will be very pleased with his efforts over the

:38:23. > :38:30.course of the season. Lost the world title to a much better jump on the

:38:30. > :38:37.day. Teddy was out of sight of everybody. One of the greatest jumps

:38:37. > :38:42.in history! Christian Taylor finished outside the medals. A big

:38:42. > :38:51.surprise in view of the fact the year before, he was unbeatable as

:38:51. > :38:54.Olympic champion. One of the world's great talents. Second

:38:54. > :39:15.place. More Diamond League points and a whole handful of cash. Yes,

:39:15. > :39:19.$40,000. Rona has a look around and sees people are still with them. A

:39:19. > :39:29.$40,000. Rona has a look around and tactical race now. A new,

:39:29. > :39:35.interesting phase. Rop has started to move to the front, almost on cue.

:39:35. > :39:55.They are dropping seconds all the time. The pole vault over there.

:39:55. > :40:01.This was a replay of his second round attempted jump, his best so

:40:01. > :40:09.far. I was mistakenly saying he round attempted jump, his best so

:40:09. > :40:15.missed out that little cross at the beginning. His only failure in the

:40:15. > :40:19.competition, apart from the fact he sailed -- failed 6.04. His coach

:40:19. > :41:01.will be delighted. We have lost our commentators! The

:41:01. > :41:11.way that Rob is approaching this race, he has trained hard with Mo

:41:11. > :41:16.Farah, but also, his personal best in 10,000 metres many years ago. He

:41:16. > :41:26.is more than capable of producing a real upset. They will obviously have

:41:27. > :41:30.to work hard, all the way through. An interesting contrast, the way

:41:30. > :41:37.these guys are approaching this race. They always had to stay

:41:37. > :41:54.focused. The 5000 and 10,000 metres art like a chess game, they always

:41:54. > :42:02.wonder about their opponents. With Mo Farah not being with his race, he

:42:02. > :42:05.can show he is capable distance runner. This is the final Diamond

:42:05. > :42:11.can show he is capable distance League race of the season as well.

:42:12. > :42:22.It is those two we looking out in the stages. What we haven't spoken

:42:22. > :42:31.about yet is how much money these athletes stand to make: $40,000, a

:42:31. > :42:51.lot of money for athletes. Two laps to go now. The pace starts to pick

:42:51. > :42:54.up on the guys are starting to look and want to keep themselves right

:42:54. > :42:57.for the attack. Nobody will want to give up this race. They never, ever

:42:57. > :42:59.want to lose. As Denise said, when there is money at stake as well, you

:42:59. > :43:01.understand why these guys are focused and determined. He was

:43:01. > :43:07.disappointed with how he ran the 5000 metres in Moscow. He is trying

:43:07. > :43:16.not to let anyone come past at this stage in the race. I am watching

:43:16. > :43:30.Bernard find himself there, which is interesting. It's the bell now. We

:43:30. > :43:39.have seen it so many times on the bell. But he hasn't got the strength

:43:39. > :43:49.of Mo Farah and the others taking advantage of that. And they are

:43:49. > :44:01.still jostling for their positions there.

:44:01. > :44:08.Can this make amends for that disappointment in Moscow when he

:44:08. > :44:24.finished six? One of the great kickers. The second fastest in

:44:24. > :44:36.history. A fabulous run there. The rest of them pouring across the

:44:36. > :44:44.line. The winning time. Not the fastest time in the world. But maybe

:44:44. > :44:48.wishful thinking on the part of the organisers and arson the media who

:44:48. > :45:03.love to see great, fast races. But that was pretty quick and it was a

:45:03. > :45:10.great race. Rupp 13.0137 in fifth. A season's

:45:10. > :45:14.best for the American. Thomas Pkemei Longosiwa in sixth.

:45:14. > :45:20.Alamirew getting clipped with over 200 to run.

:45:20. > :45:24.But boy so boy, Alamirew, the head nodding, a glance over his shoulder,

:45:24. > :45:39.working so hard to beat the grand old man Bernard Lagat.

:45:39. > :45:45.Jager, 13.02. . By over 12 seconds, it is a personal best. It helps to

:45:45. > :45:52.get in quick races with solid pace making.

:45:52. > :46:01.Koech 13.03 in ninth place. The times were fabulous.

:46:01. > :46:09.That was Tim Hutchins from the world feed. Apologies we have had a power

:46:09. > :46:15.failure in the commentary box. It was a great 5,000 metres. 400 metres

:46:15. > :46:29.is the final race on the track. It could be said. I am 26. It could

:46:29. > :46:31.have been like not a make or break, but it would have been a tough thing

:46:31. > :46:36.have been like not a make or break, to swallow, so to go and run in the

:46:36. > :46:46.relay was great. It gave me the hunger. I had three races left. It

:46:46. > :46:52.is exciting. You are racing -- your raying in Zagreb must have given you

:46:52. > :46:59.confidence Yes, I have not been well, to run a season's best at this

:46:59. > :47:04.time of years not 100% best. And to beat Ms Lack who has been

:47:04. > :47:10.competitive. -- Ms Lack. So what do you expect? It is is a

:47:10. > :47:15.big race, for them here in Belgium. It is an exciting one. The Belgians

:47:15. > :47:23.love them. They are big names here and to go in a race against them, it

:47:23. > :47:27.would be nice, I am coming into shape, to give them a good run for

:47:27. > :47:32.their money. I think I have lane seven tomorrow, so, yes, if I can be

:47:32. > :47:38.with them at 50 to go, see what happens.

:47:38. > :47:41.Well, I am pleased to say we are back with you.

:47:41. > :47:49.Back with Rooney, a bit of a power problem in the commentary box. And I

:47:49. > :47:57.am not sure what happened but if Colin and Denise commentated that

:47:57. > :48:05.5,000, well done to them. What a great climax we have to this

:48:05. > :48:09.meeting. I can't understate how big these bros are here, Martyn Rooney

:48:09. > :48:14.taking three of them on here, and they have a younger sister who is

:48:14. > :48:22.not allowed to run in this race. Young Dylan has joined Jonathan and

:48:22. > :48:36.Kevin. They are big stars of Belgian society. We have mans.

:48:36. > :48:44.In is not a Diamond League race, but it has been saved for the crowd, I

:48:44. > :48:50.should say it is half-time in the Belgian Scotland match apparently.

:48:50. > :48:54.And people in Belgium are eagerly awaiting their chance to see their

:48:54. > :48:59.heroes, and Martyn Rooney waiting his chance to run here. When he went

:48:59. > :49:03.to Moscow after his injury problem, he kept saying things are starting

:49:03. > :49:15.to come together. He ran well in the relay, you heard from him, that good

:49:15. > :49:29.race in Zagreb earlier in the week. He beat Mazlak.

:49:29. > :49:37.So Josh Mance, 21-year-old American. He was in that race in Zagreb. Hiss

:49:37. > :49:43.best time goes to the beginning of the year.

:49:43. > :49:53.Masrahi. Sixth at the World Championships. The man coached by

:49:53. > :49:59.John Smith. Steel, won a medal in the 4X4. Of course representing

:49:59. > :50:06.Jamaica. And then Jonathan Borlee, just outside the medals. A huge

:50:06. > :50:21.cheer. Belgian, Belgium doesn't have many

:50:21. > :50:26.star athletes these days. Galvan of Italy. Then Kevin Borlee. The twins

:50:26. > :50:33.that have been switching personal bests over the years and medal, and

:50:33. > :50:37.it was Jonathan who had the better of the World Champions this year.

:50:37. > :50:43.Kevin only made the semifinals. So Martyn Rooney, for so long

:50:43. > :50:49.Britain's number one, he is now with Rider and said things are coming

:50:49. > :50:53.together for him in Loughborough. Then Dylan Borlee, the three

:50:53. > :50:58.brothers ran in the 4X4 relay, they weren't that far off a medal either.

:50:59. > :51:03.Incidentally they have a couple of half brother, the oldest is only 12,

:51:03. > :51:10.a bit of pressure on him to get good quickly. They could make their own

:51:10. > :51:16.4X4 team. Nicholas Maitland, the Jamaican on the outside.

:51:16. > :51:20.So the last event of the evening. We have all the plugs safely in, the

:51:20. > :51:23.fuse boxes have been sorted out. Let us hope we can finish with a good

:51:24. > :51:29.race. The crowd will be really into this, but let us hope that Martyn

:51:29. > :51:35.Rooney can build on that good race earlier in the week. Rooney is in

:51:35. > :51:49.seven, last to go into his blocks there.

:51:49. > :51:51.Men's 400 metre, last vent of the evening.

:51:51. > :52:05.-- event. Clearly away, the crowd immediately

:52:05. > :52:09.into this. If anything perhaps Kevin Borlee

:52:09. > :52:14.started quicker in lane six than Jonathan in lane four. Martyn Rooney

:52:14. > :52:21.going well. Maitland out in lane nine. He needs to start quickly for

:52:21. > :52:26.the first, and he has done. Kerr village Borlee and Jonathan Borlee

:52:26. > :52:30.starting to make inroads and inside Jonathan Borlee Steel going well in

:52:30. > :52:35.the yellow. Steel might just have this, but Rooney is in the scrap

:52:35. > :52:39.with the two Borlees. Maitland is on the outsite it is Jonathan Borlee

:52:39. > :52:44.from Rooney. Rooney is looking strong in the home strait. Marin

:52:44. > :52:52.Rooney is going to get there, or is he? I think he did. 45.04. They are

:52:52. > :52:56.saying Jonathan Borlee, Rooney leaned at the end. It will be very

:52:56. > :53:00.close on the line. Well, the crowd want Borlee to win

:53:00. > :53:05.and maybe he did just do enough in the end. He wakes over to Rooney,

:53:05. > :53:15.and in fact it has gone up on the screen. You would expect it to. No,

:53:15. > :53:21.I was right. Thank you very much. Martyn Rooney did get it.

:53:21. > :53:27.You know they put it on the screen here that Jonathan won, watch this,

:53:27. > :53:32.he doesn't, it is a shame this is all happening at the end of the

:53:32. > :53:35.season for Martyn Rooney, what a gutsy run. The dip of Rooney, even

:53:35. > :53:39.on that slight angle. There is the gutsy run. The dip of Rooney, even

:53:39. > :53:42.photo finish, he did visit. Given the same time but you can see that

:53:42. > :53:48.Martyn Rooney with that finish had it. The noise inside the stadium,

:53:48. > :53:54.just, I think a few of them still think that Borlee won that one, but

:53:54. > :53:56.very very strong from Rooney. He is finishing his season strongly, it is

:53:56. > :54:03.very very strong from Rooney. He is a shame it is too late. It augurs

:54:03. > :54:09.well for Martyn Rooney. I mean the sort of form he is now,

:54:09. > :54:16.he would have had a good chance of making the semi-final at least. We

:54:16. > :54:19.know when he is in shape and fit he is good. Maybe there is time in his

:54:19. > :54:23.career, he is obviously in the latter part of his career now, he

:54:24. > :54:27.has plenty of years ahead where he could run quick time, so 40.50 a

:54:27. > :54:33.good season's best. More importantly could run quick time, so 40.50 a

:54:33. > :54:38.two wins this week. One in Zagreb and here in Brussels. Spoiling the

:54:38. > :54:44.party for the Belgian, I am sure they won't mind too much. Martyn

:54:44. > :54:48.Rooney, getting those bristles ahead. Good job he didn't have a

:54:48. > :54:53.shave before the race. It will go down to the thousands of a second.

:54:53. > :54:58.It will be the same time on the official result.

:54:58. > :55:09.45.05 for the two of them. A personal best for Galvan.

:55:09. > :55:17.That wasn't what the crowd were expecting. Here he is, don't you

:55:17. > :55:23.dare go anywhere else. Spoiling the Borlee party. Yes. I am happy to win

:55:23. > :55:28.here, like I have been ill for the last week-and-a-half, so to finish

:55:28. > :55:32.with a season best, and to, I haven't beaten any of the Borlees

:55:32. > :55:37.for a while. I am happy. Your quickest time of the season, in the

:55:37. > :55:43.last diamond looking of the season. My coach, like I only joined him in

:55:43. > :55:47.February, and I was lucky to train in South Africa with Oscar

:55:47. > :55:52.Pistorius, from January, I started my winter. So it is a bit late but I

:55:52. > :55:54.can build on it for next year. Have a good winter. And Steve is wanting

:55:54. > :55:59.more off the facial hair, but a good winter. And Steve is wanting

:55:59. > :56:05.is between you and him. Well done, thank you. A great way to finish the

:56:05. > :56:08.night. Martyn Rooney was disappointed earlier on in the

:56:08. > :56:12.season, it's a short season, but so much can change and happen, moment

:56:12. > :56:17.of the season from you? Moment of the season, that is a Tuffey. But I

:56:17. > :56:22.guess for me, it has to be Christine. I won't forget that

:56:22. > :56:24.feeling seeing, that nail-biting finish, a great champion, great

:56:24. > :56:30.result and very well deserved. finish, a great champion, great

:56:30. > :56:35.Breakthrough performer? Adam Gemili in the 200 metres. It was a

:56:35. > :56:40.phenomenal young man that produced an incredible season. Breathtaking

:56:40. > :56:47.sprinting. Great Britain breakthrough? That is not easy.

:56:47. > :56:51.Maybe Jessica Judd, the 800. I think A-levels, having to contend with so

:56:51. > :56:56.much and to go under that two minute barrier is fantastic. International

:56:56. > :57:01.performer? I am going to go for Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. It was

:57:01. > :57:09.between her and Bondarenko. To me she has to be the clear world class.

:57:09. > :57:14.The global. We have loads more athletics for you. On Saturday it is

:57:14. > :57:19.the great city games. Christine Ohuruogu, Sally Pearson and David

:57:19. > :57:29.Oliver headlining. And 9.30 the great north run. Mo Farah, is star

:57:29. > :57:34.manager the men's and in the women's you will see Defar Andy baba go

:57:34. > :57:40.head-to-head. It is going to be a fantastic weekend. We have had

:57:40. > :57:46.wonderful moments, in what is supposed to be the year when

:57:46. > :57:48.everything is working self out. We have enjoyings your company
