0:00:00 > 0:00:02Let's cross to Roger Johnson from BBC Northwest Tonight obvious at the

0:00:02 > 0:00:06Sports Personality of the Year.

0:00:49 > 0:00:53Hello and welcome to viewers on the BBC News Channel to the Echo Arena

0:00:53 > 0:00:57here in Liverpool, a magnificent view this evening, and this is what

0:00:57 > 0:01:01it's all about. The BBC Sports personality of the year trophy, 12

0:01:01 > 0:01:06contenders who you have just seen, one of them will be crowned the

0:01:06 > 0:01:10winner for 2017 within the space of a couple of hours this evening.

0:01:10 > 0:01:14We are going to be chatting to a lot of the stars from sporting scenes

0:01:14 > 0:01:17and entertainment scenes, as they make their way into the main event.

0:01:17 > 0:01:22First of all, before we get our first guest, let's take a lack at

0:01:22 > 0:01:29some of the amazing sports moments of 2017 -- take a look.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34Some of the amazing memories of 2017 which will be celebrated here

0:02:34 > 0:02:38tonight in Liverpool at the Echo Arena at this year's Sports

0:02:38 > 0:02:40Personality of the Year where, as you can see, the stars have really

0:02:40 > 0:02:45come out. We are here with England football

0:02:45 > 0:02:47manager Gareth Southgate. Welcome. Are you looking forward to a big

0:02:47 > 0:02:52night ahead?Yes, fantastic, always a brilliant event. This year

0:02:52 > 0:02:56obviously we have got a junior international team well represented

0:02:56 > 0:03:00as well so fantastic experience for them to come here. Two of them both

0:03:00 > 0:03:06world champions. I guess the big question is, next year, 01, will the

0:03:06 > 0:03:09sporting highlight be England lifting the World Cup?We were

0:03:09 > 0:03:12saying if we have got lots of no more nations for sports personality

0:03:12 > 0:03:16in the next year, we'll be in a really good place, so that is our

0:03:16 > 0:03:20aim, we are really looking forward to it and yes, it's starting to get

0:03:20 > 0:03:25really real now we have got the draw. Were you happy with the draw?

0:03:25 > 0:03:31Yes. I think because we are one of the second seeds, the way it works,

0:03:31 > 0:03:35you get two teams you are probably going to be favourites against and

0:03:35 > 0:03:39play one team ranked higher, so it's in our hands now.

0:03:39 > 0:03:44Also what I would like to know, obviously footballers up for

0:03:44 > 0:03:47tonight's award, Harry Kane, will you be getting your mobile out and

0:03:47 > 0:03:51voting for him tonight?There are some really good people. I've met a

0:03:51 > 0:03:56couple of the other guys who've had incredible years as well. So a lot

0:03:56 > 0:04:02of world champions. It's a high bar. Great for Harry that he's in there,

0:04:02 > 0:04:06he's had a fantastic season. From your point of view, we were talking

0:04:06 > 0:04:09whilst watching the highlights, you have never seen this before? No, not

0:04:09 > 0:04:15this close. You know, goodness me, I'm looking at some of the names

0:04:15 > 0:04:191960, I wasn't quite around for that, but it's such an iconic

0:04:19 > 0:04:22trophy, great to see nit the flesh. It's amazing. Thank you very much

0:04:22 > 0:04:27for talking to us. We hope you enjoy the evening. One of the names on

0:04:27 > 0:04:30there I'm absolutely certain is Sir Steve Redgrave and if we look down

0:04:30 > 0:04:35the carpet, there he is, the big man standing next to Annabel.

0:04:35 > 0:04:39I'm joined by previous winner Steve Redgrave. What year was it when you

0:04:39 > 0:04:45won?2000 Just after the Sydney Olympics.Does it feel a long time

0:04:45 > 0:04:51ago?A very long time ago. That was my last year of competing of 25, the

0:04:51 > 0:04:54last 17 years have gone reasonably quickly.Obviously you have been

0:04:54 > 0:04:59there, so what will the contenders be feeling tonight and how important

0:04:59 > 0:05:06is it to win?I was nominated a couple of times before, so it's

0:05:06 > 0:05:11excitement, is it going to be me, oh God what am I going to say if I do

0:05:11 > 0:05:19win, and the year that I did win so they tell me, just afterwards, it

0:05:19 > 0:05:23was very one-sided on my side and everyone knew they was going to win

0:05:23 > 0:05:30apart from myself that was sitting there extremely nervous. I spoke

0:05:30 > 0:05:33reasonably well but forgot to mention my wife.Never forget to

0:05:33 > 0:05:36mention your wife. Not such a good thing when she's your team doctor as

0:05:36 > 0:05:40well. But no, it was a great evening and what a thrill to win that

0:05:40 > 0:05:46trophy.For a lot of sportsmen and women, this sort of thing doesn't

0:05:46 > 0:05:49come necessarily naturally to them walking up and down the red carpet.

0:05:49 > 0:05:54I guess you are a bit more used to it now?I've been on two or three,

0:05:54 > 0:06:00but sports people tend to be more introverted, related to the actors

0:06:00 > 0:06:05and performers, they tend to be more extroverted. There is a crossover

0:06:05 > 0:06:08either way but most sports people tend to be more combiet and reserved

0:06:08 > 0:06:15in some ways. Are we allowed to ask you who you might think will win

0:06:15 > 0:06:20tonight?There is two I wouldn't mind winning, AJ being one and Adam

0:06:20 > 0:06:24Peaty being the other. They've both had fantastic years and one thing

0:06:24 > 0:06:29that I always try and say is that sports personality should be about

0:06:29 > 0:06:32what you've actually done in that year, not what you did in a

0:06:32 > 0:06:39lifetime. Maybe my award was more lifetime achievement than in my one

0:06:39 > 0:06:42year.Very well deserved it was anyway. Thank you very much for

0:06:42 > 0:06:46stopping to talk to us. Have a lovely evening.Pleasure. And you.

0:06:46 > 0:06:49One of the great things about standing here is that everybody

0:06:49 > 0:06:53wants to stop and have a photograph taken. That's the first time you

0:06:53 > 0:07:00have seen it?Yes. We were competing in the Invictus Games in Toronto,

0:07:00 > 0:07:04but it's a special night be invited along. It's going to be amazing.

0:07:04 > 0:07:09What were the Invictus Games like. It looked amazing? It was. The

0:07:09 > 0:07:13atmosphere was incredible. I competed in the 100 metres, shot

0:07:13 > 0:07:18putt and discus and the atmosphere for every event was invisible. The

0:07:18 > 0:07:23support was second to none.So much work of the Invictus Games is down

0:07:23 > 0:07:26to Prince Harry of course, have you had a wedding invite? That would be

0:07:26 > 0:07:31nice. No, that would be nice but we are obviously all in training

0:07:31 > 0:07:34already for Sydney next year so we have got the trials in April then

0:07:34 > 0:07:38the selection process. We find out in May whether we are going to

0:07:38 > 0:07:42Sydney next year, but I think it will be around the time of the Royal

0:07:42 > 0:07:49Wedding, so you never know! All the best and good luck. Happy customers,

0:07:49 > 0:07:52because you had a photo take within the trophy too.

0:07:52 > 0:07:57Annabel, back to you. Tonight is a celebration of sport

0:07:57 > 0:08:02but, as we mentioned, it's also a celebration about professional

0:08:02 > 0:08:05athletes winning medals but also those that don't always get

0:08:05 > 0:08:09mentioned and recognised. The volunteers at grass roots levels.

0:08:09 > 0:08:14Tonight we celebrate them as well and particularly a very special

0:08:14 > 0:08:25coach in Crosby.

0:08:26 > 0:08:31I'm Pamela and I'm in Liverpool to say thank you to a special lady for

0:08:31 > 0:08:38her contribution to grass roots netball. Let's go and meet her.

0:08:53 > 0:08:57You have been pretty amazing, doing so much for grass roots netball.

0:08:57 > 0:09:02This is so great. Oh, my God.I've come the say thank you so much for

0:09:02 > 0:09:06everything you are doing and all the girls here look like they are having

0:09:06 > 0:09:16a great time.Hello!This is our junior netball club, the under-13

0:09:16 > 0:09:21section. We are in our fourth year, started off with five girls, now

0:09:21 > 0:09:26we've got 95.Amazing. I hear you are coaching Monday, Tuesday,

0:09:26 > 0:09:31witnesses, Thursday?Yes.

0:09:34 > 0:09:38I didn't have the opportunities to get involved with as much netball

0:09:38 > 0:09:43when I was younger until I was sort of 16, 17, so to give these girls

0:09:43 > 0:09:46the opportunity now and to give my two daughters the opportunity to

0:09:46 > 0:09:50play and get involved in netball at a younger age just makes me so happy

0:09:50 > 0:09:55to see them and get the parents' feedback to say how much they love

0:09:55 > 0:09:58netball and how much they love being part of the club and how much

0:09:58 > 0:10:05they've made new friends. It makes it all worthwhile.

0:10:05 > 0:10:10She's got so much passion, enthusiasm and I tell her all the

0:10:10 > 0:10:14time, I wish we could bottle it, we need so much more people like

0:10:14 > 0:10:17Michelle for community sport in this country to really grow and develop

0:10:17 > 0:10:24more.A bit on the angle... That's it.

0:10:24 > 0:10:33It's absolutely amazing to have Pam ham la here tonight with us in

0:10:33 > 0:10:38Crosby -- Pamela. To be recognised, I'm pretty gobsmacked actually,

0:10:38 > 0:10:45pretty speechless about it all, it's absolutely amazing.

0:10:49 > 0:10:53With me now, the Tottenham and England striker, Harry Kane and of

0:10:53 > 0:10:57course one of this evening's contenders for the award for sports

0:10:57 > 0:11:00pers that willty of the year. How chuffed were you to be nominated for

0:11:00 > 0:11:06it?It was amazing. Something I'm extremely proud of. A bit of a

0:11:06 > 0:11:09surprise, I have to say, but really excited to be here and looking

0:11:09 > 0:11:14forward to the event. You know the last footballer to win this award,

0:11:14 > 0:11:19Ryan Giggs?Ryan Giggs, yes.You have got to do that?I know, yes,

0:11:19 > 0:11:25obviously Ryan Giggs was incredible, done so much for the game, so to be

0:11:25 > 0:11:28nominated is amazing, of course I would love to go on and win it and

0:11:28 > 0:11:33hold the trophy.Does it mean a lot to you? You can win things

0:11:33 > 0:11:36professionally in your sports life but what does it mean to win this

0:11:36 > 0:11:40award?It would be fantastic to be appreciated by all of the public for

0:11:40 > 0:11:45all sports as well, it's something I would be very proud of so yes,

0:11:45 > 0:11:48football's obviously my sport, but I've always loved doing every sport

0:11:48 > 0:11:51when I was a kid growing up in school as well. It's amazing to be

0:11:51 > 0:11:56here.You have captained England recently which is a huge honour, I'm

0:11:56 > 0:12:00guessing?It is. Again, as a kid growing up, that's what you dream of

0:12:00 > 0:12:08doing. To have done that and to have scored as well on the debut, it was

0:12:08 > 0:12:13incredible, a moment I'll never forget.We have had the youth teams

0:12:13 > 0:12:16coming through earlier. They've had a fantastic year. Do you think they

0:12:16 > 0:12:21can go forward into 2018 with such success?Yes, hopefully. They've

0:12:21 > 0:12:25been fantastic. I'm incredibly proud to be English and to see what

0:12:25 > 0:12:29they've been doing. Yes, it only drives us players to try to do the

0:12:29 > 0:12:34same. It's great to see them here tonight and hopefully 2018 will be

0:12:34 > 0:12:37even better. We wish you all the luck, have a fantastic night. Thank

0:12:37 > 0:12:41you for speaking to us.Thank you. Roger and I have just bumped into

0:12:41 > 0:12:46one of the 12 and only Scots to be nominated for this year's Sports

0:12:46 > 0:12:51Personality of the Year award. How does it feel? It's amazing. I never

0:12:51 > 0:12:56expected to be nominated. It's such an honour. It feels unreal to be

0:12:56 > 0:13:00here and to get a nomination. It's crazy.You are looking fabulous,

0:13:00 > 0:13:06would you agree tonight? You are known for having your cool purple

0:13:06 > 0:13:10hair, always looking fashionable. Was tonight a hard choice?I have

0:13:10 > 0:13:15five with me. Some were quirky and they all persuaded me to go with the

0:13:15 > 0:13:19elegant one so I'm happy you are saying I look good because I wasn't

0:13:19 > 0:13:24sure.Your train is long on that dress, you need someone to carry it.

0:13:24 > 0:13:30He's not having any of it is he?I'm a bit too tall. You came close to

0:13:30 > 0:13:35giving up in 2014 didn't yourself I bet you are relieved you didn't?Oh,

0:13:35 > 0:13:41it's amazing. I became word champion and thought, this is giving back to

0:13:41 > 0:13:44everyone that supported med through the bad time. To come out the other

0:13:44 > 0:13:47end and now be nominated for this award, if you would have said that

0:13:47 > 0:13:51four years ago, I would have told you you were making it up.How tough

0:13:51 > 0:13:56is that. Sam you will probably appreciate this with your hockey

0:13:56 > 0:13:59background, you must have times when you feel very alone and down. Is it

0:13:59 > 0:14:07very difficult to drag yourself back up?Yes, of course, everyone has bad

0:14:07 > 0:14:11times, where it's hard to get up in the morning, especially after Sochi,

0:14:11 > 0:14:16but you have got to focus on everyone supporting you, sending you

0:14:16 > 0:14:20the love. You have little goals to reach every day, that is what keeps

0:14:20 > 0:14:26me going.Sochi for you, you train, you compete, get up at 6am for that

0:14:26 > 0:14:31Olympic moment. What things have you got in store coming up for the next

0:14:31 > 0:14:34politician, you have just had selection, things like that?Yes,

0:14:34 > 0:14:38I'm so excited, only got told this week. They were never going to not

0:14:38 > 0:14:45pick you?You never know! I'm just so excited. I want to go out and

0:14:45 > 0:14:50enjoy the Olympics. Sochi was horrible, I didn't enjoy it, I got

0:14:50 > 0:14:53myself in should have good shape and I know I can win but mainly I want

0:14:53 > 0:14:57to enjoy it band happy in front of the home crowd and not have a

0:14:57 > 0:15:00miserable face on the whole time so I'm looking forward to getting out

0:15:00 > 0:15:07there.We wish you well. Thank you very much indeed. Elise, one to have

0:15:07 > 0:15:1412 nominees. Thank you. We have heard from Harry Kane and Elise, now

0:15:14 > 0:15:20it's Johnny Peacock. Fresh from last night which was a

0:15:20 > 0:15:23big night on celebrity Come Dancing. How was that, the whole experience,

0:15:23 > 0:15:28what was it like for you in Strictly? It was a roller coaster,

0:15:28 > 0:15:32absolutely incredible. There are many ups, a few downs, the training

0:15:32 > 0:15:35can be tricky, but it was so much fun. I think the only bad thing is

0:15:35 > 0:15:39that I didn't get to enjoy the party as much as I wanted to because I had

0:15:39 > 0:15:43to be up to come here.You had to save yourself?To a point, yes.We

0:15:43 > 0:15:47are grateful for that. It's very different though isn't it that kind

0:15:47 > 0:15:50of challenge because you are used to a sporting challenge but you are

0:15:50 > 0:15:53doing it for yourself then really aren't you, you've got a partner

0:15:53 > 0:15:58this time?Yes, exactly, that's it. Oti was there helping me. It's

0:15:58 > 0:16:01weird, you don't want to let them down. When you are on the track it's

0:16:01 > 0:16:05just you and obviously you can let down your country but really the

0:16:05 > 0:16:10pressure is just on you. Whereas going out there, I don't want to let

0:16:10 > 0:16:14Oti down. There is a lot of nerves. So far out of my comfort zone. Are

0:16:14 > 0:16:17you surprised how well you did then because you did well and lasted

0:16:17 > 0:16:23well?That's down to Oti and her amazing choreography and he pushed

0:16:23 > 0:16:27me. She did amazingly well. She was meant to be here today, where is

0:16:27 > 0:16:34she? She enjoyed the party a little bit. Ssh she might be lying in bed

0:16:34 > 0:16:37somewhere! We should talk a bit about sport as well and you have

0:16:37 > 0:16:45been nominated for this. How do you feel? Absolutely incredible. The

0:16:45 > 0:16:52biggest award for a sportsman. It's such an honour. The names that go on

0:16:52 > 0:16:56the list is insane so be in the mix is incredible.Do you get time to

0:16:56 > 0:16:59rest because you have had a full-on year. What is Christmas going to

0:16:59 > 0:17:03mean?I'm going to have a couple of weeks to chill out. Christmas at

0:17:03 > 0:17:07mums, New Years at my girlfriend Sally's parent, so that will be

0:17:07 > 0:17:12nice, but lots of sleep, a bit of alcohol, so yes, I need to stop

0:17:12 > 0:17:15eating so much though because I've already put on weight.Really, doing

0:17:15 > 0:17:21Strictly you have put on weight? Definitely. It's not as intense,

0:17:21 > 0:17:27it's much more mentally exhausting, I had to put down a few cakes!Thank

0:17:27 > 0:17:30you so much, we are glad you made it here tonight and good luck. Thank

0:17:30 > 0:17:36you.Thank you. From one athlete at one end of the

0:17:36 > 0:17:42carpet rapidly three of it have made it to the other end, Steve Cram

0:17:42 > 0:17:46Paula Radcliffe and Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson are here. We were

0:17:46 > 0:17:51talking to Johnny Peacock, he's been one of the great role models for the

0:17:51 > 0:17:55para-athletics team?Yes. He delivers when it counts. Winning

0:17:55 > 0:18:00gold in London was phenomenal. To do it later in Rio with all the

0:18:00 > 0:18:03pressure, men's amputee's sprinting is one of the deepest classes out

0:18:03 > 0:18:12there and to come back after year of injury and to win was amazing, he so

0:18:12 > 0:18:16deserves to be on the list. When you are sitting in the commentary box

0:18:16 > 0:18:21and Paula as well, you must take great pride in the way Paralympics

0:18:21 > 0:18:28has come on in recent years, it's very much on a level with the

0:18:28 > 0:18:35able-bodied teams? As Tanni was saying, in all sports, regular or

0:18:35 > 0:18:39Paralympicsneeds its heroes, Johnny is one of our, Tanni was for a long

0:18:39 > 0:18:44time. We have been able to integrate the Paralympic events, particularly

0:18:44 > 0:18:51in athletics. We had the IPC champs held in this stadium just before and

0:18:51 > 0:18:56you saw full stadia for both Championships which is testimony to,

0:18:56 > 0:19:01I guess, what the public appreciate. They're watching top level sport. It

0:19:01 > 0:19:06doesn't matter whether it's a paralympian or able-bodied athlete,

0:19:06 > 0:19:10they understand they're watching people at top of their game which is

0:19:10 > 0:19:15why they come here and watch it on TV as well.Paula, one of the

0:19:15 > 0:19:19contenders this evening who isn't here, Mo Farah, how amazing has he

0:19:19 > 0:19:24been now that he's brought his track to an end? He's closing one chapter

0:19:24 > 0:19:29and closing one very successful chapter, so successful that we

0:19:29 > 0:19:32actually find ourselves looking back this year and thinking, he didn't

0:19:32 > 0:19:35quite match what he did in the years before that because that was

0:19:35 > 0:19:39outstanding to be able to put those doubles back-to-back year after

0:19:39 > 0:19:44year. I think he's now probably relishing the challenge of the going

0:19:44 > 0:19:50into something new that he needs to learn, find his feet a bit and give

0:19:50 > 0:19:53himself something else to attack that motivates him that bit more

0:19:53 > 0:19:57now.It was amazing having the worlds back in London. How amazing

0:19:57 > 0:20:01was that to see everyone back in the spirit of the Paralympics? It was

0:20:01 > 0:20:05really special on so many levels. Athletics had been through a rough

0:20:05 > 0:20:09time so to bring it back to a country that really supports and

0:20:09 > 0:20:13understands athletics and fills the stadiums, that gave it a real boost

0:20:13 > 0:20:17in. Britain it was brilliant to see performances like the relay boys

0:20:17 > 0:20:21just come through and grab that and just really kind of reignite all of

0:20:21 > 0:20:26that passion that we saw in 2012 and give people a chance to live it

0:20:26 > 0:20:28again. Thank you all very much inteed for

0:20:28 > 0:20:33talking to us. We are grateful to all of you. Enjoy the evening. There

0:20:33 > 0:20:40is no doubt who is the fastest contender for Sports Personality of

0:20:40 > 0:20:43the Year award, 2017. It is of course Lewis Hamilton. He won his

0:20:43 > 0:20:48fourth world title this year and he also won the admiration of another

0:20:48 > 0:20:53motor sport giant, Sir Jackie Stuart.

0:20:53 > 0:20:57I think 2017 has been the best year for Lewis Hamilton with regards to

0:20:57 > 0:21:02winning in the manner in which he's done it and so forth. For me, the

0:21:02 > 0:21:06most enjoyable race I ever saw Lewis Hamilton running was one that he

0:21:06 > 0:21:12didn't win, in fact it was the Grand Prix in Barcelona where he came

0:21:12 > 0:21:16through the very back, started in the pit lane in fact, came through

0:21:16 > 0:21:21and didn't get on the podium but nearly did. That made the race

0:21:21 > 0:21:27because he was just chopping everybody off, as he went along. He

0:21:27 > 0:21:31has a huge gift of natural talent. What you have got to do is match

0:21:31 > 0:21:36that natural talent with what is up here in the brain cells and that

0:21:36 > 0:21:40he's developed as he's gone along. This year is the best example of

0:21:40 > 0:21:46that. I think these are the two big assets you need.

0:21:49 > 0:21:53A magnificent sight from the air. The Echo Arena here in Liverpool

0:21:53 > 0:21:57ahead of this year's Sports Personality of the Year. Here on the

0:21:57 > 0:22:03red carpet the famous faces keep coming. Rebecca Adlington is with

0:22:03 > 0:22:08us, Adam Peaty is amongst the contenders tonight.Best of luck.

0:22:08 > 0:22:13Phenomenal isn't he?Unbelievable. His Olympic success is one thing but

0:22:13 > 0:22:17to back that up and this is his fourth year nominated, he keeps

0:22:17 > 0:22:20climbing the ladder and doing better every year so hopefully tonight he

0:22:20 > 0:22:25can be there on the stage.Given how amazing he is, do you find it

0:22:25 > 0:22:32frustrating that so many people do swim, why doesn't it punch through

0:22:32 > 0:22:38and have a swimmer as the sport s pers nal Sports Personality of the

0:22:38 > 0:22:43Year?Anthony Joshua is such a big name, for example, because he's a

0:22:43 > 0:22:47huge sport, we are still a minority sport that is a bit like your mum

0:22:47 > 0:22:52and dad in the stands and that's pretty much it. It's bound to happen

0:22:52 > 0:22:57when you have a small sport but Adam's had a fantastic year. For him

0:22:57 > 0:23:02it would be an honour to be the winner but he's honoured to be

0:23:02 > 0:23:08nominated.You look stunning tonight. Where is it from and why

0:23:08 > 0:23:13did you choose the jumpsuit? Good choice?Look at these. Two goal

0:23:13 > 0:23:19medals and jumpsuits as well, I feel left out.Where is this one from?

0:23:19 > 0:23:25Tall girls can wear jumpsuits so why not.We have the awkward thing

0:23:25 > 0:23:29whether we went for one or two kisses but we went for a fist bump.

0:23:29 > 0:23:34Joining and Yang.The new girl band. I can't sing, can you?No. There we

0:23:34 > 0:23:38go! That makes three of us. At least we have something in common. Thank

0:23:38 > 0:23:43you very much for stopping to talk to us, we are really grateful.

0:23:43 > 0:23:49The world of cycling is always very well represented at this awards

0:23:49 > 0:23:53event and this year's contender is Chris Froome who won his fourth Tour

0:23:53 > 0:23:57de France this year, as well as the tour de-Spain. One man who

0:23:57 > 0:24:00particularly thinks he should get this award is a previous award

0:24:00 > 0:24:07winner himself, Sir Chris Hoy.

0:24:07 > 0:24:13I think Chris Froome, you'd be hard pushed to say he's not the greatest

0:24:13 > 0:24:18of his generation. Four times Tour de France champion, welter champion.

0:24:18 > 0:24:25His consistency. The way that he deals with everything that is thrown

0:24:25 > 0:24:29at him, I can't think of anybody would rate above him. He's the best

0:24:29 > 0:24:36of the best. There are so many variables in the Tour de France, so

0:24:36 > 0:24:41many things can go wrong. It's an incredibly difficult thing to

0:24:41 > 0:24:45control. Therefore consistency at that level in that type of event is

0:24:45 > 0:24:49super impressive. It's a huge achievement what he has managed to

0:24:49 > 0:24:55do over the last four or five years. To win the Vuelta as well as the

0:24:55 > 0:25:00Tour de France this year, incredible achievement. I think he would

0:25:00 > 0:25:02probably win sports personality in any number of different nations

0:25:02 > 0:25:10around the world this year.We have just bumped into this gentleman who

0:25:10 > 0:25:16has probably got by far the most glamorous or revealing outfit of the

0:25:16 > 0:25:26night. It is Speedo Mick. Tell everybody what you do.After

0:25:26 > 0:25:32swimming the channel a few years ago, I've been fundraising, going to

0:25:32 > 0:25:37football games, walking to France, walking to Wembley. I've just been

0:25:37 > 0:25:41fundraising basically for three years.And you've done a fantastic

0:25:41 > 0:25:48job. I was at the Liverpool Everton derby on Sunday and it was snowing,

0:25:48 > 0:25:54and he was still there in his Speedos! How do you get through

0:25:54 > 0:25:59those cold days?It's a challenge, and I love a challenge. Lots of

0:25:59 > 0:26:06coffee. Like you say it's part of the fun racing stuff. If I'm shaking

0:26:06 > 0:26:12a bucket with my clothes on, you don't get as much money. We've just

0:26:12 > 0:26:16been talking to Rebecca Adlington, famous gold medal winning Olympic

0:26:16 > 0:26:21swimmer. Whereabouts are talked to a world champion swimmer. None of them

0:26:21 > 0:26:25are dressed quite like you tonight. Fantastic. Annabel is talking to

0:26:25 > 0:26:34Adam Peaty. I don't think he's wearing his Speedos! That gentleman

0:26:34 > 0:26:39down there is in his Speedos, you look a bit overdressed!Maybe if I

0:26:39 > 0:26:44get nominated next year that's my next outfit.You've had a fantastic

0:26:44 > 0:26:48year so you must feel overwhelmed to be up for this award.Absolutely.

0:26:48 > 0:26:56World Championships and the Europeans last night. You quickly

0:26:56 > 0:27:01gave your gold medal away to somebody in the crowd.I saw a

0:27:01 > 0:27:05British flag and you don't see many British flags when you go abroad. I

0:27:05 > 0:27:09thought, I want to do something for them to say thank you for

0:27:09 > 0:27:16supporting. This girl I gave my gold two, she was starstruck -- I gave my

0:27:16 > 0:27:22gold-medal to her. You've won the gold medal, but hopefully far her it

0:27:22 > 0:27:27will change her world and inspire her for many years. That is a really

0:27:27 > 0:27:32lovely moment. You are with your girlfriend Millie. Where you out

0:27:32 > 0:27:38there watching?I wasn't, I was at work!You try and support as much as

0:27:38 > 0:27:44you can but you're not involved in the world of sport yourself?Sadly

0:27:44 > 0:27:49not.It's a very good balance. I can do what I need to do in the pool and

0:27:49 > 0:27:53come home and relax and completely chill out.Are you going to relax

0:27:53 > 0:27:59now?Yes, we go on holiday after Christmas. This is my only time of

0:27:59 > 0:28:04year where I can chill out and start to restart the engine next year.

0:28:04 > 0:28:08It's a big year, Commonwealth Games, European long course championship,

0:28:08 > 0:28:11then it's the worlds and then the Olympics against upright when you

0:28:11 > 0:28:16stop in the middle of training.

0:28:16 > 0:28:20When you stop in the middle of training, do you have to stop eating

0:28:20 > 0:28:29the amount you are eating?Yes. It is 15,000 calories a day, and it

0:28:29 > 0:28:33goes down to a leaf.Thank you very much, good luck tonight and have a

0:28:33 > 0:28:40great evening. Adam Peaty talking to Annabel. We wish him luck to night,

0:28:40 > 0:28:46he's one of the 12 contenders. 6:45pm the programme is live on BBC

0:28:46 > 0:28:50One. You can vote for your favourite. Last year tennis one with

0:28:50 > 0:28:54Andy Murray taking home his third award. This year the sport has

0:28:54 > 0:29:02Johanna Konta representing the female game. She got to the

0:29:02 > 0:29:05semifinals of Wimbledon which was the first time in a long time.

0:29:05 > 0:29:10Amongst the legions of her fans is... The last person to do it,

0:29:10 > 0:29:18Virginia Wade.Johanna Konta had a tremendous year. Maybe better even

0:29:18 > 0:29:22than she anticipated, although you never know. Obviously everyone is

0:29:22 > 0:29:27dreaming of coming into the top handful in the world and she got

0:29:27 > 0:29:33herself to number four. So I think she achieved every one of the goals

0:29:33 > 0:29:39she could have set for the year. To win a big tournament like Miami, to

0:29:39 > 0:29:43get to the semifinals of Wimbledon, and to do as well as she did in

0:29:43 > 0:29:47Australia. That was a year to remember. I know she had some

0:29:47 > 0:29:54injuries as the year progressed but as long as she can stay fit, listen,

0:29:54 > 0:30:00she's got as much chance as anybody else. Women's tennis is there

0:30:00 > 0:30:09waiting for somebody to take the reins and climb on up.Virginia Wade

0:30:09 > 0:30:13singing the praises of Johanna Konta. A couple of minutes ago we

0:30:13 > 0:30:22had two ladies in catsuits, both with Olympic gold medals. Now we

0:30:22 > 0:30:32have two by Jungle by files. King of the jungle!Yes indeed. We gave each

0:30:32 > 0:30:35other that look and said, we know what you went through. When you meet

0:30:35 > 0:30:40someone who's been in the jungle we can look at each other and say, we

0:30:40 > 0:30:45know. There's a gang of us who know how tough it is and how much fun it

0:30:45 > 0:30:51is.Do you ever eat rice and beans? I hate rice and beans. He has

0:30:51 > 0:30:56kangaroo instead. Tell us about Jonathan Rea. He is closing on your

0:30:56 > 0:31:01all-time career number of wins.Next year I'm sure he will smash the

0:31:01 > 0:31:07record. I'm a big fan of Jonathan, I'm here to support him. Hopefully

0:31:07 > 0:31:13everyone will vote for him. He's a good lad and a great rider.What

0:31:13 > 0:31:20makes him so good? He's got the aggression, the consistency, the

0:31:20 > 0:31:24will to win. He's good in wet weather, dry weather, all sorts.

0:31:24 > 0:31:28He's very professional about the way he goes about his business. He ticks

0:31:28 > 0:31:36all the boxes.You mentioned you think he's a great talent. Do you

0:31:36 > 0:31:40think he is going to break your world record for the amount of

0:31:40 > 0:31:46career wins?He'll break them. I'm not bitter one bit! He's a good

0:31:46 > 0:31:52guys. Thank you for talking to us. He's pretty quick on two wheels.

0:31:52 > 0:31:58Here's a bloke who was pretty quick on two legs, Michael Johnson. I'm

0:31:58 > 0:32:05with Michael Johnson, we've been arguing about how many times he's

0:32:05 > 0:32:18one. -- he's won.I have one trophy. Tonight you can come in and kick

0:32:18 > 0:32:25back and enjoy it.I've got to do a bit of presenting tonight. I'll be

0:32:25 > 0:32:30enjoying it, it's all is a great shows.I think a lot of people,

0:32:30 > 0:32:33sportsmen and women, obviously they want to win in their own sports but

0:32:33 > 0:32:43winning this is important. It's also be history. If you look back over

0:32:43 > 0:32:51winners of previous years, there is some amazing names there.Roger

0:32:51 > 0:32:56Federer has won it this year. His comeback last year was unbelievable.

0:32:56 > 0:33:01I actually have to admit I said about a year or two ago, Roger, it's

0:33:01 > 0:33:10time to let it go. He proved me wrong. That spurred him on! Do you

0:33:10 > 0:33:12have a highlight? The World Championships were amazing this

0:33:12 > 0:33:19year. A lot of sad moments with Usain Bolt. Do you have a highlight?

0:33:19 > 0:33:25I think those championships proved, obviously a sad moment to Usain but

0:33:25 > 0:33:28it proved the sport is bigger than one athlete because it was still an

0:33:28 > 0:33:37amazing championship. The thing about Usain is, if you ask anyone

0:33:37 > 0:33:42who won, they will ask what Usain Bolt there? He won it. It won't have

0:33:42 > 0:33:49any effect on his legacy. His legacy is amazing, great sprinter ever. The

0:33:49 > 0:33:52world of athletics to my being represented by Mo Farah, he's got a

0:33:52 > 0:33:57good chance.History hasn't been kind to him over the years with this

0:33:57 > 0:34:05thing, so I'm not quite sure. He did have an amazing season. He should be

0:34:05 > 0:34:10right there and have a really good chance to win it. His season was

0:34:10 > 0:34:15amazing. He went out with a bang and he would absolutely be deserving of

0:34:15 > 0:34:21its.Thank you. Have a wonderful night. Roger is going to tell us a

0:34:21 > 0:34:32bit about a hero who lives a bit more locally. We were just talking,

0:34:32 > 0:34:39you do 40 metres sprints with the Great Britain hockey team. How many

0:34:39 > 0:34:44seconds is that?It would normally be 20 out, 20 back. I would like to

0:34:44 > 0:34:50say I was the fastest. When Holly scored that last goal, even though

0:34:50 > 0:34:55I'm not the fastest in the squad, but on that picture it looks like I

0:34:55 > 0:34:59am.We've talked a lot about the minority sports this evening. For

0:34:59 > 0:35:05hockey, what did it mean, that Olympic win, the profiler tat. It on

0:35:05 > 0:35:1410pm at night, prime time. What has it done for hockey? It's huge. It

0:35:14 > 0:35:17started off with the gold medals, the acknowledgement in front of

0:35:17 > 0:35:25millions. It made people say hockey is a fast, competitive sport. To be

0:35:25 > 0:35:31here amongst the sporting's best both past and current, it's amazing.

0:35:31 > 0:35:34We had our captain Kate nominated, hopefully we'll catch her. She was

0:35:34 > 0:35:40amazing as well.There's a boxer nominated tonight, his name is

0:35:40 > 0:35:44Anthony Joshua. He's not here. There's another big guy, Tony

0:35:44 > 0:35:53Bellew. Liverpool boxer of course. Is that a tinge of blue for your

0:35:53 > 0:36:00beloved Everton?Yes, if I can sneak it in and get it in, yes! There was

0:36:00 > 0:36:07a possibility you would have been fighting David Haye tonight.Yes, as

0:36:07 > 0:36:11you can see I'm here to help out. But it really but what can you do,

0:36:11 > 0:36:20the show must go on.Anthony Joshua, who I know it is a rival of yours.A

0:36:20 > 0:36:24rival friend.He's got a good chance, hasn't he?I think he

0:36:24 > 0:36:29deserves it. It would be fantastic to see.You described him as a

0:36:29 > 0:36:36friend. If you at some point had to fight him, how tough is that?I

0:36:36 > 0:36:42went.You're not going to give us an exclusive tonight?Have you seen the

0:36:42 > 0:36:51size of him?! Do you want to fight probably not. I wouldn't fight

0:36:51 > 0:36:57Speedo Mick over there. Your fight has been rescheduled for make.O2

0:36:57 > 0:37:02Arena. I've missed being back at work. Ultimately I made

0:37:02 > 0:37:07prizefighter, I enjoy fighting. Time off is no good for nobody.Although

0:37:07 > 0:37:11Eure prizefighter, I've heard you talk before about the fact it's a

0:37:11 > 0:37:16job for you and you want to go to work and get home safe. That is 100%

0:37:16 > 0:37:20correct. It's just a job. As much as I love boxing and it's the only

0:37:20 > 0:37:25thing I truly understand inside and out, you've got to understand it is

0:37:25 > 0:37:30just a job. Once I come away from that I'm just a normal nine to five

0:37:30 > 0:37:36lads.To have this here in Liverpool, this event, it's great

0:37:36 > 0:37:43isn't it?It's massive, it's huge. Our city is a fantastic city. It's

0:37:43 > 0:37:47got a wealth of heritage, it is steeped in glory. We've got a lot of

0:37:47 > 0:37:52history from the football teams, from all different sportsmen and

0:37:52 > 0:37:57women of every different ethnic origin. We are a massive city and I

0:37:57 > 0:38:04think it's fantastic. It should be here, we've had teams win Champions

0:38:04 > 0:38:11League.What team was that?It doesn't matter what team it was!

0:38:11 > 0:38:18We've got a fantastic tradition with sport. There's many more to come as

0:38:18 > 0:38:28well. The youth is coming through also.Tony Bellew, proud Evertonian!

0:38:28 > 0:38:32Annabel teased us earlier about a new local staff, Tony is one and so

0:38:32 > 0:38:39is Sam. Obviously as you've just seen with Tony Bellew, this city has

0:38:39 > 0:38:44no shortage of sporting superstars. In 2017 a new one emerged, golfer

0:38:44 > 0:38:49Tommy Fleetwood has had an astonishing year. He became a

0:38:49 > 0:38:59champion, he became a husband and he became a dad. Two wins, one

0:38:59 > 0:39:11marriage, one baby, and Europe's number one golfer.

0:39:11 > 0:39:22MUSIC It's not until now, getting home and

0:39:22 > 0:39:28sitting down, I'm like, what have we done?Christmas coming up with a new

0:39:28 > 0:39:33baby and a new wife, and it's very cool at the moment.But a year ago

0:39:33 > 0:39:38it was anything but cool. Tommy was struggling. He got his best mate to

0:39:38 > 0:39:46Kathy and went back to his childhood coach. It worked -- to caddy. You

0:39:46 > 0:39:54won't forget this year.Absolutely not, this has been a heck of a year.

0:39:54 > 0:40:02We get an absolutely brilliant. He's my best mate. He's a good lad. I've

0:40:02 > 0:40:07been found behind Bush is talking to myself, but I love it. You can't get

0:40:07 > 0:40:14any better than this. From the Dubai sunshine to the Cheshire snow,

0:40:14 > 0:40:19Tommy's stepsons have been among his biggest supporters. Are you nervous

0:40:19 > 0:40:25watchers?I am quite good, I think. But when he's doing well I get quite

0:40:25 > 0:40:34nervous.When he wins on Sunday I can come back into school on Monday

0:40:34 > 0:40:41and everyone is talking about it, especially the teachers. To have

0:40:41 > 0:40:44that many people that you're close with around you, I can't thank them

0:40:44 > 0:40:51enough. An amazing year on course and of course. It's been better than

0:40:51 > 0:40:59I could ever have hoped for.

0:41:04 > 0:41:08I'm very, very excited because I've just found all my hockey girls

0:41:08 > 0:41:16looking gorgeous. It's like being on that Team GB flight back home from

0:41:16 > 0:41:24Rio.Singing so much and they let us sleep.I put it was you girls who

0:41:24 > 0:41:35started it!I recorded all of it! I'm a bit under the weather!That's

0:41:35 > 0:41:40before the night has begun! So ladies, you've just come back from

0:41:40 > 0:41:47New Zealand. Pretty new squad after Rio, how's it going?Really good. We

0:41:47 > 0:41:51came forth and we were slightly disappointed but new squad, everyone

0:41:51 > 0:41:54is getting a chance to get international experience that it's

0:41:54 > 0:42:02been a really positive year. Apparently they've all got a Airbnb

0:42:02 > 0:42:06tonight.We've got a lovely apartment in Liverpool. It's my hen

0:42:06 > 0:42:12do this weekend so finishing it off well!We are going to cross over to

0:42:12 > 0:42:17Annabel. I'm with one of the other contenders for the awards night,

0:42:17 > 0:42:23Bianca Walkden. I wish I'd worn big heels tonight! I should have known!

0:42:23 > 0:42:29I had to get my legs out and get the hills and.You look fantastic. This

0:42:29 > 0:42:33is your home city, you must be feeling so at home.I can't wait to

0:42:33 > 0:42:38go out there and hopefully all the Scousers get behind me. Please vote

0:42:38 > 0:42:42for me. Honestly, I'm so overwhelmed and trying to take it all in.When

0:42:42 > 0:42:45they announced your name on the night you were tweeting that you

0:42:45 > 0:42:51were buzzing. It's so good it's here, it's great the celebration of

0:42:51 > 0:42:56sport is seen outside of London and in places like Liverpool because we

0:42:56 > 0:43:02had so many famous sports people. 100%. It to be in my hometown is

0:43:02 > 0:43:07amazing. You've got all the fighters and the boxers, is just inside us to

0:43:07 > 0:43:11go and compete and win. Hopefully Liverpool will get behind me

0:43:11 > 0:43:15tonight. I can't wait to see the reception from everyone.You've had

0:43:15 > 0:43:21such a fantastic year. The last time we met was just after the Olympics

0:43:21 > 0:43:27and bizarrely you were disappointed with a bronze. This year has been

0:43:27 > 0:43:35fabulous.I've done OK. I was the first one to get all four Grand Prix

0:43:35 > 0:43:42series and retain my world title. For me that was just me getting up

0:43:42 > 0:43:47every day. I'm lucky enough to just be here and I'm trying to take it

0:43:47 > 0:43:52all in because it's so overwhelming. What are you going to do now? Are

0:43:52 > 0:43:58you taking a break over Christmas? I've got training tomorrow or the

0:43:58 > 0:44:01day after. I can't have any pigs in blankets over Christmas because I'm

0:44:01 > 0:44:07going to China on the 27th of December. Can you enjoy yourself

0:44:07 > 0:44:14tonight?Of course. I can't let Liverpool down!We wish you all the

0:44:14 > 0:44:20best. We were going to talk to Asha Philip and Adam Gemili but it was

0:44:20 > 0:44:25hijacked by the hockey girls reunion! Beth Tweddle is also with

0:44:25 > 0:44:32us. Looking back on your 2017, how would you sum it up?It was really

0:44:32 > 0:44:37good. I got a European gold medal in the 60 metres and a silver medal in

0:44:37 > 0:44:44London. These boys got gold which I'm happy for. It's been a really

0:44:44 > 0:44:48good year for us this year.Adam, the girls were willing it you over

0:44:48 > 0:44:54that line in the final, how much did it mean to have them there with you?

0:44:54 > 0:44:58It was the best feeling to celebrate together, especially doing it in

0:44:58 > 0:45:02London was brilliant, to become a world champion. Usually the girls

0:45:02 > 0:45:05are successful at the relay and the men hashed it up a bit but we

0:45:05 > 0:45:11managed to get a medal and celebrate altogether.Beth, you are a veteran

0:45:11 > 0:45:15of this event, you must have been many times but how lovely to have it

0:45:15 > 0:45:20in your home city.It is always a nice way to end the year and a great

0:45:20 > 0:45:25way to celebrate what British sport has done. But have it back in

0:45:25 > 0:45:30Liverpool, we last had it back in 2008. I'm really proud to show off

0:45:30 > 0:45:34what our city does. It's to see all these different people from

0:45:34 > 0:45:39different sports who normally would never meet.Yes. For some buzz it's

0:45:39 > 0:45:42a great way to catch up, meet up with old friends. You see all the

0:45:42 > 0:45:47emerging stars coming through. What these guys did in the summer was

0:45:47 > 0:45:52incredible. I was part of that team willing you over the line. It was

0:45:52 > 0:45:57just amazing to watch.Thank you. We're going to continue the

0:45:57 > 0:46:02athletics team at the other end of the carpet. I'm with Dame Jessica

0:46:02 > 0:46:07Ennis-Hill. You look absolutely gorgeous. It's so nice to have a

0:46:07 > 0:46:11chance to dress up.It is, yes. Obviously just having my daughter

0:46:11 > 0:46:17I've been in slob out close for the past few weeks and not been to

0:46:17 > 0:46:20anything special is this so it's really exciting. Is this your first

0:46:20 > 0:46:27big night out?It is actually. I had a mummy and ready day the other day

0:46:27 > 0:46:33but this is the first time I've left her for a few hours. How are you

0:46:33 > 0:46:38feeling about that? She's happy and settled with my mum so I'm OK. I'll

0:46:38 > 0:46:43be checking my phone every two minutes. Is a lovely event to be at.

0:46:43 > 0:46:48You wouldn't want to miss it.It's a fantastic event and to be here

0:46:48 > 0:46:52celebrating sport, I've had a fantastic year. Really happy to be

0:46:52 > 0:46:58here this evening.Obviously we had the World Championships. I was

0:46:58 > 0:47:03speaking to Michael Johnson earlier about his highlight, what was your

0:47:03 > 0:47:07highlight?It was great to be there as a spectator. I love watching the

0:47:07 > 0:47:16heptathlon. To see the Belgian heptathlete win, she was out of this

0:47:16 > 0:47:22world. I enjoyed watching that.Mo Farah is the contender for athletics

0:47:22 > 0:47:26this year, what do you think of his chances? He's missed out before. He

0:47:26 > 0:47:32has. He's had another incredible year and done all he can possibly do

0:47:32 > 0:47:38on the track. Fantastic to watch him when again in London. As well as

0:47:38 > 0:47:41being extraordinarily busy which you will be with two children, what's

0:47:41 > 0:47:47next?Just having some time at home with the kids and doing some other

0:47:47 > 0:47:50projects, getting involved with sport. It's a big part of my life

0:47:50 > 0:47:55and has been for so long so I want to continue.Christmas is going to

0:47:55 > 0:48:01be hectic with little ones.Yes, we've got a busy Christmas. My

0:48:01 > 0:48:04sister has had another baby and my sister in law has had another baby

0:48:04 > 0:48:12as well.Certainly the biggest, tallest man on the carpet so far,

0:48:12 > 0:48:16Anthony Joshua is here. One of the contenders tonight. Thank you for

0:48:16 > 0:48:20talking to us. What a year. It's been an interesting year in terms of

0:48:20 > 0:48:31what's going on in the boxing ring and so on. I feel be -- I feel good.

0:48:31 > 0:48:38It's inspiring as well. What was that night in April likely. 90,000

0:48:38 > 0:48:41people at Wembley, Wladimir Klitschko who had dominated for so

0:48:41 > 0:48:49many years -- that night in April at Wembley. It so soon in my career,

0:48:49 > 0:48:53it's not something I was waiting for, it was brought upon me and I

0:48:53 > 0:48:56thought let's roll the dice and see how we get on. Walking out in front

0:48:56 > 0:49:01of 90,000 people, it was just about delivering. I think we definitely

0:49:01 > 0:49:08delivered. We had to show a bit of grit, bit of skill, a bit of

0:49:08 > 0:49:11character and I think that's what made it a good fight.You've just

0:49:11 > 0:49:16mentioned you're not used all this attention and walking down a red

0:49:16 > 0:49:21carpet. What's it like, are you taking it all in your stride?Yes.

0:49:21 > 0:49:25It's not an everyday thing. Maybe once I'm done with boxing Albee at

0:49:25 > 0:49:32every event, but might coach won't be too happy at the minutes if I am

0:49:32 > 0:49:37-- I'll be at every event. I'm just here to have a good time. This isn't

0:49:37 > 0:49:43something we watched growing up so it's quite new to me.Are you

0:49:43 > 0:49:49nervous or looking forward to being on stage?I'm not nervous but I'm

0:49:49 > 0:49:54sitting here as a spectator. My family were never begin to sports so

0:49:54 > 0:49:58it's not something I know what's going to happen, I'm just going to

0:49:58 > 0:50:02sit down as a spectator and take it in. Then I can pass on the

0:50:02 > 0:50:06information of what it was like to my friends and family. And then

0:50:06 > 0:50:13looking forward to 2018. In a nutshell, are there any big names

0:50:13 > 0:50:21you'll be looking to fight?Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder.The

0:50:21 > 0:50:26heavyweight division is the holy Grail.Yes, it's the holy Grail. If

0:50:26 > 0:50:29a really tough task but I say it's like it's so simple. I think it's

0:50:29 > 0:50:36very possible. I would love to fight end of March, early April against

0:50:36 > 0:50:41Joseph Parker or Deontay Wilder. Once I get that belt God willing, I

0:50:41 > 0:50:48can move forward. And get the last belt.In terms of your training,

0:50:48 > 0:50:57plans for Christmas?I've just come back from Dubai. We did some fitness

0:50:57 > 0:51:02stuff. I came back, straight back into training, to manage my weight

0:51:02 > 0:51:06and stuff. Don't enjoy too much Christmas turkey. Everyone has

0:51:06 > 0:51:10relax. Then get back on the gravy train.Thank you for talking to us.

0:51:10 > 0:51:21All the best. Amir Khan is just back out of the jungle. Amir Khan how are

0:51:21 > 0:51:25you feeling?I feel great, it's great to be back. I've lost so much

0:51:25 > 0:51:31weight, I'm down to fighting weight. It's great to be here.How's your

0:51:31 > 0:51:35fear of those horrible bugs and snakes and spiders?I won't be going

0:51:35 > 0:51:41back there. I'm scared of spiders and snakes. The spiders, I'm not

0:51:41 > 0:51:44scared of them any more. It helped sleeping next to them and being

0:51:44 > 0:51:49around them. But snakes I'm still scared off.And perhaps they fear of

0:51:49 > 0:51:55strawberries now?The strawberries were a bit of fun, they were nice.

0:51:55 > 0:52:02And Q so much and have a lovely evening. -- thank you so much. Wow,

0:52:02 > 0:52:07what a red carpet. It's incredible, and the stars are still coming

0:52:07 > 0:52:17through.It's an air on BBC at quarter to seven, 640 5pm Sports

0:52:17 > 0:52:20Personality of the Year. You can vote for one of 12 contenders to win

0:52:20 > 0:52:26the big awards. We hope you enjoy it. From all of us at the Echo

0:52:26 > 0:52:30Arena, good night.
