:00:12. > :00:18.Just outside Belfast and a stone's throw from the city of Lisburn is

:00:18. > :00:24.the venue for one of the world's most thrilling sporting events -

:00:24. > :00:34.the Ulster Grand Prix, staged on the fastest motorcycle road racing

:00:34. > :00:54.

:00:54. > :01:00.Well that was last year. Sadly the weather not quite as nice for the

:01:00. > :01:06.2011 Ulster Grand Prix. But at least it is starting dry. Even if

:01:06. > :01:11.the circuit is a little damp. Welcome to the first of two hour-

:01:11. > :01:16.long road racing specials. For most of the year the track is seven and

:01:16. > :01:22.a half mile of normal public roads. But each summer they're closed for

:01:22. > :01:32.some of the most exciting bike racing you're ever likely to see.

:01:32. > :01:40.

:01:40. > :01:50.The first lap trying to push through and come out at the front.

:01:50. > :01:51.

:01:51. > :01:57.Down through the fast left/right. Down to Leathemstown. You're

:01:57. > :02:04.heading up to Deer's Leap, a real fast section. Just fifth gear and

:02:04. > :02:10.hope for the best. A got wheelie down here. And then another big

:02:10. > :02:20.wheelie. Now we head into Cochranstown. Third gear right-

:02:20. > :02:22.

:02:22. > :02:28.hander. Head up for Ireland's. Always damp below Ireland's. Then

:02:28. > :02:37.through Joey's and not fast 190mph section. Into a fast right hand

:02:37. > :02:43.bend at the top of the hill. Then to Wheeler's and back to third. A

:02:43. > :02:51.real good ride. The last lap is hard work. Into Lindsay's hairpin,

:02:51. > :02:56.get it in, square it and don't let anybody pass. We head up to the

:02:56. > :03:02.Quarries. A fast left right, real fast through year. You have to

:03:02. > :03:12.watch the bad bump in the middle of it. Head for Dawson's bend. A real

:03:12. > :03:21.

:03:21. > :03:26.fast right-hander. Down into a low left. And that is my winning lap!

:03:26. > :03:30.Well Philip, what way is the weather going to affect the riders'

:03:30. > :03:35.thinking? I won't affect them just as much for this race, the

:03:35. > :03:41.Superstock race, as for the Superbike race. This rides on road

:03:41. > :03:45.tyres. So it is going to make them thing. But there is a bit of trod

:03:45. > :03:51.clear the water. They haveed that lap and seen the damp patches and

:03:51. > :03:55.the like of Michael will have it worked out. Michael Dunlop is in

:03:55. > :03:59.pole position. A nephew of the great Joey Dunlop, the most

:03:59. > :04:03.successful rider around this circuit. 48 times he won. Can you

:04:03. > :04:08.see Michael getting his first win here, or could it be his brother,

:04:08. > :04:14.William, who is also on the first row? William is a smooth rider and

:04:14. > :04:21.the damp conditions won't put him off. We have got a lot of other

:04:21. > :04:24.guys. Bruce Anstey is a specialist rider and Ryan Farquhar. But Ryan

:04:24. > :04:29.starts at the back of the grid. He will be coming through strong.

:04:29. > :04:35.Thank you. Time to join our commentary time. Richard Nicolls

:04:35. > :04:38.and David Moore. COMMENTATOR: The Ulster Grand Prix is about to start.

:04:38. > :04:42.Look at this grid. Philip and Steven have been talking about a

:04:42. > :04:50.couple of people, but there is a wealth of raiders, whose names

:04:50. > :04:55.excite me when it is time to go racing. -- wealth of riders. We

:04:55. > :05:05.have iffy conditions and the promise of the unknown. It is all

:05:05. > :05:05.

:05:05. > :05:10.going to become known now. Sick laps of Dundrod -- six laps of the

:05:11. > :05:15.Dundrod circuit. Look who there, Guy Martin, he is hungry for it.

:05:15. > :05:22.William's here and he has won it before. Bruce Anstey has something

:05:22. > :05:29.to prove. Those at the back, like John McGuinness. Here we go though.

:05:29. > :05:33.The Ulster Grand Prix for 2011 bursts into life and Michael Dunlop

:05:33. > :05:41.burst behind Guy Martin who springs into the lead. Down The Kilo

:05:41. > :05:46.heading to the first corners. And Guy Martin got the best start.

:05:46. > :05:56.William coming up the inside. Perfect from William Dunlop.Less in

:05:56. > :05:59.

:05:59. > :06:07.first place I -- he is in first place ahead of the other rider. The

:06:07. > :06:15.first time time we're on board with Keith Amor. Ryan Farquhar goes

:06:15. > :06:20.through as well. He is supermean on a Superstock. This is super quick.

:06:20. > :06:25.This is one of the most extraordinary corners in motor

:06:25. > :06:29.sport at Deer's Leap. Over the top, the view and down the hill and

:06:29. > :06:34.William Dunlop has got it across him. What about Guy Martin, first

:06:34. > :06:39.off the line and this is what the Ulster Grand Prix is about. He

:06:39. > :06:43.could now be in fifth. We're looking at William Dunlop and

:06:43. > :06:50.Michael Dunlop behind him. William Dunlop leads for the first time and

:06:50. > :06:56.we have seven riders, all at the front. And a move perhaps. Michael

:06:56. > :07:01.Dunlop's second position is under threat. It has gone. Bruce Anstey

:07:01. > :07:07.is through. But as we have seen, anything can happen between now and

:07:07. > :07:14.the end, as Gary Johnston goes through. Where did he arrive from?

:07:14. > :07:22.We're on the way to ierdz corner. We're on board with Ian Lougher.

:07:22. > :07:29.And behind him is Ryan Farquhar. Thits battle -- this battle could

:07:29. > :07:39.go all the way. A great start for Ian Lougher. But Gary Johnston,

:07:39. > :07:44.that bike is Steve Plater's bike from last year. And Gary Johnston

:07:44. > :07:50.is pushing it. You can't see much from there. This is a better view,

:07:50. > :07:57.Ian Lougher shaping up for the pass. Out on the draft and alongside. Did

:07:57. > :08:01.he make it stick? Still foggy. Conditions are still suspect.

:08:01. > :08:07.is the highest part of the Dundrod circuit. They're looking behind to

:08:07. > :08:14.see what is going on. Look at the road. Wet patches around the side.

:08:14. > :08:19.William Dunlop getting in side ways. You was saying it was dry down the

:08:19. > :08:26.middle and it turned out not to be. William Dunlop almost play paid the

:08:26. > :08:31.price. Oh no! Michael Dunlop? What was that? That was second place.

:08:31. > :08:37.And Gary Johnston is doing the best thing and braking away. You get

:08:37. > :08:43.entangled in the pack and then you can run away with it. Gary Johnston

:08:43. > :08:46.has yet to win at the Ulster Grand Prix as well. The pack behind,

:08:46. > :08:50.never was there a more apt description. That is a pack and

:08:50. > :08:54.they still changing places. The draft works here. We hear about the

:08:54. > :08:59.slip stream at the north-west. There is slip streaming here at the

:08:59. > :09:06.Ulster a well. If you get a toe, you can make up a couple of places.

:09:06. > :09:12.Gary onstpon has a hoard, not a pack, behind him. -- Gary Johnston.

:09:12. > :09:18.It is like a horse race, they are all swapping positions. See how wet

:09:18. > :09:23.it is too across the start line. We're on board with Keith Amor. He

:09:23. > :09:31.loses the position. He has got to get up the inside into the turn.

:09:31. > :09:36.And Martin hold off Farquhar. Wow! I just got my breath back from that

:09:36. > :09:40.Amaiing -- amazing moment that Michael Dunlop gave us. He has so

:09:40. > :09:46.much confidence on the brakes and I wonder whether he can do that again

:09:46. > :09:51.and if I was Gary Johnston, I would be wondering it do. If I was Gary

:09:51. > :09:58.Johnson I would make sure I don't drop the clutches. He looks to see

:09:58. > :10:05.where they are. The answer is right behind you. Guy Martin getting a

:10:05. > :10:12.toe and Ryan Farquhar. William don lop dropping back. -- Dunlop

:10:12. > :10:18.dropping back. These are the potential race-winners. Farquhar

:10:18. > :10:23.looking to make a move on Martin. Ryan Farquhar was leaning on Guy

:10:23. > :10:27.Martin's should irand has got past him now as they make the --

:10:27. > :10:32.shoulder and has got past him now as they make the turn. That was

:10:32. > :10:38.fine work from Farquhar. He is very much on form. Down to Ireland's we

:10:38. > :10:47.go. William Dunlop is closing and Ian Lougher as well. It is the

:10:47. > :10:54.drive out of the turn this a important. William Dunlop catching

:10:54. > :11:00.up on the man in fours. It is a bit wet. You have to take it steady.

:11:00. > :11:05.The wind will be drying the track. That is Michael Dunlop and Ryan

:11:05. > :11:13.Farquhar. We are back with the bike of Keith Amor. You get this toe and

:11:13. > :11:22.that is it, job done. Bruce Anstey goes past, he goes past Bruce

:11:22. > :11:30.Anstey I should say. This is Wheeler's. And they led down.

:11:30. > :11:34.Johnson has lost it. Where did Dunlop quet -- get him. He got that

:11:34. > :11:42.one wrong last time. Plenty of contact patches between his tyre

:11:42. > :11:48.and the surface. Hoor they go into the Lindsay her pain. -- hairpin.

:11:48. > :11:53.Donald is going straight on. But look where has Cameron Donald come

:11:53. > :12:01.from? He was not with the front pack and now he is on a charge.

:12:01. > :12:05.We're on board with Ian Lougher. Clear road behind him. He is in the

:12:05. > :12:10.battle for the top five places. will be desperate to make that

:12:10. > :12:18.position up to particular tin in fourth. Haar tin looks as if --

:12:18. > :12:25.Martin in pourt. -- place. He is under pressure. Oh Farquhar's got a

:12:25. > :12:33.problem. That was, that happened instantly. He was at race speed.

:12:33. > :12:38.was losing ground and almost as if, well who knows? Here they go. Tr is

:12:38. > :12:44.-- there is William Dunlop. Farquhar into the pits. That is

:12:44. > :12:50.such a disappointment. He was riding well. There is Ryan Farquhar.

:12:50. > :12:55.What are they looking at? The front end? He was looking at the tyre.

:12:55. > :13:02.Here is Michael Dunlop with Gary Johnson and then the big gap back

:13:02. > :13:09.to the new fifth place. We're looking at Michael Dunlop who has

:13:09. > :13:17.not won an unUlster -- an Ulster grand pee. Gary Johnson trying to

:13:17. > :13:21.close in on the race leader and he is. Yes, but you have got to, Gary,

:13:21. > :13:28.everyone talks about Michael Dunlop and when will he win, Gary Johnson,

:13:28. > :13:38.how well is he go? Look at Guy Martin closing in. Ian Lougher

:13:38. > :13:43.

:13:43. > :13:53.incentive because Gary Johnson has lost momentum. By Martin through,

:13:53. > :13:59.and second?. Now, at his target Michael Dunlop whose targeting that

:14:00. > :14:06.first victory. Their egos. He got it right this time, he is solely on

:14:06. > :14:10.the brakes! He is super-smooth carrying speed around the corners.

:14:10. > :14:14.Chucking it in, slamming on the brakes. He is tidier than he has

:14:14. > :14:22.been but there is a monkey on his back that he is trying to get rid

:14:22. > :14:28.of. Not good for Kerry Johnson. That is a monkey on his back. He

:14:28. > :14:33.just swept past him in the hairpin. He has made that mistake. He has

:14:33. > :14:38.dropped back and lost his momentum. You can see what that means.

:14:38. > :14:45.Michael Dunlop jocks of another lap. The Ian Lougher in third place,

:14:45. > :14:50.fantastic for him, but Guy Martin closing in on Michael Dunlop.

:14:50. > :14:55.have seen this several times between Michael Dunlop and Guy

:14:55. > :15:00.Martin. It has always gone the way of Michael Dunlop in the races we

:15:00. > :15:04.have watched this year. But I would not like to bet on it at the moment

:15:04. > :15:11.because a guy Martin is close enough to do something about it.

:15:11. > :15:17.did get ahead of Michael Dunlop won that one occasion. He is looking to

:15:17. > :15:21.drop him, a second time. What we have seen before is that Michael

:15:21. > :15:30.Dunlop has tidied up his riding no end and that guy Martin is the one

:15:30. > :15:40.who has been getting scrappy. Cameron Donald there on the back of

:15:40. > :15:41.

:15:41. > :15:44.that group, and Guy Martin on the back. And you can see once again,

:15:44. > :15:48.Guy Martin is riding the front end of that bike as fast as he knows

:15:48. > :15:52.how. It will not go any faster. seems to have a straighter line on

:15:52. > :15:58.the road. Michael using the road from left to right across the road.

:15:58. > :16:03.Guy Martin is trying to keep more straight-line speed. Michael's

:16:03. > :16:09.weakest part of the course and die Martin has spotted that. He has had

:16:09. > :16:13.problems getting that bit right, at speed. Coming out, braking on the

:16:13. > :16:23.open. He is on the wrong side as well. Michael is up in nicely, into

:16:23. > :16:24.

:16:24. > :16:29.the second. -- the hairpin. He it is increasingly Michael Dunlop does

:16:29. > :16:39.as Guy Martin. There is a huge gap behind them in the Ulster Grand

:16:39. > :16:40.

:16:40. > :16:45.Prix at the moment. Just a rear view there, didn't catch it. Trying

:16:45. > :16:49.to catch a glimpse of this. Guy Martin is shaping up to do it again.

:16:49. > :16:56.Ian Lougher is a very distant third, and Gary Johnson is still hanging

:16:57. > :17:02.on. And the front wheel of Michael Dunlop was six feet off the ground!

:17:02. > :17:07.He needs to keep up contact patch with the road. They were looking at

:17:07. > :17:12.the front two yet again. Guy Martin continues to close in. He is going

:17:12. > :17:20.to try to get him this time. New race leader, but can Michael Dunlop

:17:20. > :17:24.get him? So straight away. There is no one else to worry about. It is a

:17:24. > :17:30.big heart that goes through here. This is the wettest part of the

:17:30. > :17:40.course. Plenty of trees are worried. That will help drive the track. --

:17:40. > :17:44.

:17:44. > :17:49.trees or bread. -- overhead. That was a perfect shot - it shows you

:17:49. > :17:55.exactly what the Dunlop's circuit is all about. Michael Dunlop just

:17:55. > :18:01.moving across and closing the door on him. Along this circuit, it

:18:01. > :18:04.carries so much speed. As you said earlier this week this is where you

:18:04. > :18:09.see the big bikes at full stretch. You do not see it anywhere else

:18:10. > :18:16.except on circuits like this. Martin going past, Michael Dunlop,

:18:16. > :18:20.heading into the turn, side by side, and Guy Martin has got him. He

:18:20. > :18:25.seems to have a little bit more power, perhaps. Was he just riding

:18:25. > :18:34.that little bit more smoothly than Michael Dunlop? It is like the

:18:34. > :18:42.Melbourne loop, this. Almost lost the back end. Michael Dunlop surely

:18:42. > :18:51.must be able to get the drive on in now. He left a big, black line

:18:51. > :18:57.behind him, Guy Martin. He is fighting now for that third-place

:18:57. > :19:06.match. It was the hairpin that cost him. Were it at the speed from die

:19:06. > :19:12.Martin on the Suzuki there, going down through quarries bend. Whose

:19:12. > :19:16.are going to be? It is between these two. A last lap flag goes out.

:19:16. > :19:25.They have been going at it like it was the last lapses this race

:19:25. > :19:34.began! -- lapped since this race began. I think we're going to see a

:19:34. > :19:39.few more passes, before this race is through. If Michael Dunlop

:19:39. > :19:43.doesn't get the power right out of the tarmac, he could allow Guy

:19:43. > :19:50.Martin to overtake. But if the get it right it could be game over.

:19:50. > :19:55.Michael Dunlop seems to be on the case, so, too, Guy Martin. I wonder

:19:55. > :20:05.if Guy Martin has made his best ever, and thought, well, that was

:20:05. > :20:10.

:20:10. > :20:16.it. He and that is exactly what we want in this sport. He is close

:20:16. > :20:21.enough at the moment. You can talk about tactics. I'm sure they will

:20:21. > :20:26.be thinking about tactics, but how can you think tactics at 190 miles

:20:26. > :20:32.an hour? But Michael Dunlop knows he has got to get rid of Guy Martin.

:20:32. > :20:37.And Gary Johnson is out of his seat! Through the spectators. They

:20:37. > :20:43.do not need any more waving on, any more applause, but the spectators

:20:43. > :20:46.are close enough to pack their own the back never mind to wave them on.

:20:46. > :20:53.Unless a Michael Doug blow -- Michael Dunlop out-brakes and

:20:53. > :20:58.Sylvia, it is his race. -- out- brakes himself, there, it is his

:20:58. > :21:02.race. And there something dramatic happens between now and the

:21:02. > :21:07.chequered flag. The he has had enough dramatic happenings already.

:21:07. > :21:13.There is no chance of a comeback now. Michael Dunlop was going to

:21:13. > :21:18.win the first race at Dundrod. And his first Ulster Grand Prix victory.

:21:18. > :21:23.Plenty of talk about it before the start of this weekend. Well, it is

:21:23. > :21:27.time for the talking to stop. Michael Dunlop is going to win the

:21:27. > :21:37.Superstock Race. There is going to be a massive cheer when he crosses

:21:37. > :21:37.

:21:37. > :21:45.the line. Michael Dunlop wins! Guy Martin second. What a race!

:21:45. > :21:51.what the result. Gary Johnson excellent in third place. Ian

:21:51. > :21:56.Lougher in 4th. Keith Amor and 5th. Congratulations, you first Ulster

:21:57. > :22:01.Grand Prix win. How did that feel? It was a long time coming. It was

:22:01. > :22:11.the right choice and tyres and the bike was awesome, I can thank the

:22:11. > :22:12.

:22:13. > :22:22.team enough, they did a tremendous job. I have got it now. Michael

:22:22. > :22:28.Dunlop soaks up the applause. A handshake from the mayor of Lisburn.

:22:28. > :22:33.His first ever Ulster Grand Prix His first ever Ulster Grand Prix

:22:33. > :22:36.His first ever Ulster Grand Prix victory. One reader who has been

:22:36. > :22:44.coming to the Ulster Grand Prix for a long theme is Ian Lougher, the

:22:44. > :22:52.rules when. He has 16 Ulster Grand Prix degrees to his name. He -- the

:22:52. > :23:02.Welshman. He and he's done it again. Ian Lougher postop Ian Lougher,

:23:02. > :23:08.

:23:08. > :23:13.into the lead, and he has snatched it. This is where number 16. -- win.

:23:13. > :23:22.Have a look at this CV. He might be a senior citizen of the racing

:23:22. > :23:28.world, and this is why. 99 say it was something of a strange one

:23:28. > :23:33.because the Honda that I was riding, it had been stolen. It was missing

:23:33. > :23:38.for three weeks. And it arrived back five days before I came over

:23:38. > :23:42.here and I won my first Ulster Grand Prix on it. He is first ever

:23:42. > :23:50.Ulster Grand Prix win. And when you have had so many more, it must be

:23:50. > :23:55.hard to pick a winner. 2002. The 600 race, as well. I had a

:23:55. > :24:01.fantastic day. Eyeball never forget it. He will never be allowed to

:24:01. > :24:06.forget it because there is a corner named after him. The that is

:24:07. > :24:14.fantastic. Any time you go through there are now, you think, what a

:24:14. > :24:20.plonker you would be if you fall off on it! He Ian Lougher will be

:24:20. > :24:24.open to roll back the years. He is in pole position for the 250cc race

:24:24. > :24:31.been run alongside the support when machines. Ian Lougher hoping for

:24:31. > :24:35.another, 37th podium at the circuit. He probably gets fed up with people

:24:35. > :24:39.talking about him rolling back the years but he has been at this game

:24:39. > :24:44.a long time and if expedience days for anything, it thence in these

:24:44. > :24:54.conditions. When Hamilton on the support whens has beaten this man,

:24:54. > :25:04.Ryan Farquhar, this week. The 250s and the Super twins. The 250s,

:25:04. > :25:09.

:25:09. > :25:13.number 18. Ian Lougher got an even better start than came flying

:25:14. > :25:20.through. Three abreast. David Morgan as the man with the pink

:25:20. > :25:29.helmet. It is leader a man who has caught the weed. -- it is Lee

:25:29. > :25:33.Vernon. He has got the lead. Look to see how much drier the circuit

:25:33. > :25:41.looks. Wet patches all round, so you have got to keep your wits

:25:41. > :25:48.about you. Be it was very wet on the start line. Have a look at this

:25:48. > :25:55.as the Super twins get away. This is where we're going to see the

:25:55. > :26:03.super speed of that 250. It is the bionic bite. It is made of brass or

:26:03. > :26:07.all different factory machinery. And Baby Morgan, and there place.

:26:07. > :26:16.Not any more, he is a printer De place now. A cracking start by

:26:16. > :26:25.David Morgan. And Ian Lougher as long as it all stays together,

:26:25. > :26:33.should take this. I like 250s as well as 600s. There are the front

:26:33. > :26:38.four. John Borrows and Aidan Archibald scrapping of squabbling

:26:38. > :26:44.well worth of place. They it is looking like a two-horse race at

:26:44. > :26:51.the front. There is Ian Lougher away, number one. Look at this. It

:26:51. > :27:01.is a little bit, it could get very saucy, this one. David Morgan in

:27:01. > :27:02.

:27:02. > :27:09.there, as well. 29, Paul Robinson, is behind leave her alone. -- Lee

:27:09. > :27:19.Vernon. This group are struggling to stay with Ian Lougher, who has

:27:19. > :27:26.

:27:26. > :27:33.vanished. Ryan Farr Clarke is doing exactly that. -- Rhein Fire Choir -

:27:33. > :27:43.- Ryan Farquhar. Someone else has come to jointly run it. It is going

:27:43. > :27:46.

:27:46. > :27:54.to be a five-way fight. - to join leader and an -- Lee Vernon.

:27:54. > :28:04.race leader, into the hairpin. at the Gap, back to second place.

:28:04. > :28:14.

:28:14. > :28:17.disappearing act. I think we have got a race plan for these guys.

:28:17. > :28:23.They're going to be chopping and swapping and changing positions all

:28:23. > :28:27.the way, if they stick together. Look at wet it is. You can see

:28:27. > :28:33.glimpses of a dry line. But they're going from wet to dry and back

:28:33. > :28:37.again. Ian Lougher in charge of this. And rightly so. The bike is

:28:37. > :28:45.head and shoulders above the rest. No disrespect to the others. So

:28:45. > :28:54.difficult to get parts for these 250s now. These are some of the

:28:54. > :29:00.supertwins coming across the line. Three aBrest -- abreast over there.

:29:00. > :29:05.It is definitely drying out now. Lee Vernon on bike 18. Davey Morgan

:29:05. > :29:11.trying to get involved. Ryan Farquhar and Wayne Hamilton are on

:29:11. > :29:17.the back of the 250s. That is Farquhar, who goes up the inside.

:29:17. > :29:22.He goes past Paul Owen. This is going to be tasty. They probably

:29:22. > :29:26.won't be expecting Farquhar and Hamilton. Davey Moore knows he is

:29:26. > :29:31.coming. You have two races in one. He must have felt the ground shake

:29:31. > :29:37.as the supertwins come alongside him. And think that is not a 250.

:29:37. > :29:40.They have got to be carele and pick their moments. Ryan Farquhar

:29:40. > :29:45.getting close. This is good for Farquhar, he is picking them off

:29:45. > :29:50.and Hamilton knows he can't let Farquhar go, if Farquhar makes the

:29:50. > :29:57.break, it could be game over for Wayne Hamilton. Oh he is down.

:29:57. > :30:03.Wayne Hamilton is down. Slides out. Wow. It was wet there. You can see

:30:03. > :30:08.the wet and dry lines. He just tipped away and that was it. Game

:30:08. > :30:16.over. Ryan Farquhar doesn't have opposition. But he still has got

:30:16. > :30:22.250s to play with. Ryan Farquhar has just got Ian Lougher, or maybe

:30:23. > :30:28.not. We don't believe it either. Where is he getting this from?

:30:29. > :30:38.Farquhar's got the power in his lead. I think he just has eep

:30:39. > :30:39.

:30:39. > :30:43.Lougher ahead of him -- Ian Lougher ahead of him. That was one of the

:30:43. > :30:50.mosts -- moments of the Grand Prix. You could see the expression on his

:30:50. > :30:54.face - what? I don't know whether Ian Lougher is expecting Farquhar

:30:54. > :31:00.to be drawing alongside. Lougher doesn't want to do anything stupid.

:31:00. > :31:10.He doesn't want the hit a wet patch at the wrong speed and drop the

:31:10. > :31:12.

:31:12. > :31:19.machine. There is the man in second, Rob. Rob will get a shock as well.

:31:19. > :31:26.Eep Lougher won't want to risk the machine. Here is the moment.

:31:26. > :31:32.just took one in. Slid along. You can see it again from this angle.

:31:32. > :31:37.He just touched the brake and he got too close to the machine in

:31:37. > :31:42.front. Nice big field to land in. He will be slightly upset, but

:31:42. > :31:51.basically all right. Here is someone else who is basically all

:31:51. > :32:01.right. Ian Lougher. John bow rows and Adrian Archy bold fighting it

:32:01. > :32:06.out. This I Ryan Farquhar who is running away with the supertwins.

:32:06. > :32:13.He is running away with Ian Lougher. I wonder if Lougher knows he is

:32:13. > :32:20.there. Yes, he will feel the ground shake. Now he has seen him. What

:32:20. > :32:25.was that? He lets Farquhar through. Unless he fansys a bit of fun

:32:25. > :32:32.around the Dundrod circuit. They're having fun. Look at them - shoulder

:32:33. > :32:40.to shoulder. On board with Ian Lougher. Out on his own in front.

:32:40. > :32:47.This isn't clear. Morgan's going up the inside. Into the Lindsay

:32:47. > :32:54.hairpin. Oh he is down and he is up. That was a quick one. That soobged

:32:54. > :32:59.-- looked so easy. There is Farquhar. That is easy. Ian Lougher

:32:59. > :33:09.should be the next into view. Another win at the Ulster Grand

:33:09. > :33:15.

:33:16. > :33:20.Prix. Two wins in a week for Ian Lougher. You a you made that look

:33:20. > :33:25.easy. I was thinking that, but it wasn't, the conditions were

:33:25. > :33:29.changing all of the time and we started off with full wet tyres. I

:33:29. > :33:37.thought I will be OK and then the sun came out and by the end of the

:33:37. > :33:44.day, it was dry. So Ian Lougher, yet another win at the Ulster Grand

:33:44. > :33:52.Prix. And what a crack 250 race that was. Supertwins, a bit more

:33:52. > :33:57.straight forward, Ryan Farquhar taking the victory. I tried to ride

:33:57. > :34:01.steady and smooth and save my tyres. I opted for wets as everyone did.

:34:01. > :34:05.As the race went on, the tyre got worse and worse. I just had to ride

:34:05. > :34:10.it smooth. I was watching my board and I could see Ian in front and I

:34:10. > :34:18.wanted to get in front. I knew the helicopter was following me, that I

:34:18. > :34:25.was leading. So happy days. Well as far as Ulster Grand Prix goes that

:34:26. > :34:33.is win No 7 for Ryan Farquhar. He and his young daughter on to the

:34:33. > :34:40.podium. Another smooth display from him. The next race of the day is

:34:40. > :34:46.for the Supersport 600CC machines. The fastest man in practice was a

:34:46. > :34:53.Scotman, Keith Amor. Who has an unforgettable Grand Prix last year

:34:53. > :35:01.with his first international win. It is all about the battle for the

:35:01. > :35:11.lead. Keith Amor is to reling wish -- relinquish first place. But Amor

:35:11. > :35:19.

:35:19. > :35:25.almost there so many times, I never finner more than 0.4 off in any of

:35:25. > :35:32.the wins. I was getting a bit desperate. When I won that 600 race,

:35:32. > :35:37.it put a few demons to rest. The racing after that was nothing short

:35:37. > :35:47.of phenomenal. COMMENTATOR: Amor and there is no rainbow. He has got

:35:47. > :35:49.

:35:49. > :35:54.to go left. Look at Keith Amor. Where did he come from? What is

:35:54. > :35:58.this race all about when they're short circuits like that. Amor is

:35:58. > :36:04.so good. I love this event and I had a great event last year and the

:36:04. > :36:08.racing was close and I wanted to come here and I was kind of trying

:36:08. > :36:14.to persuade Neil to come over. He said look, we will look into it. If

:36:14. > :36:20.it is possible, we will do it. We didn't know we were going to miss

:36:20. > :36:26.the North West 200. I said can I do the Ulster. He said OK we will do

:36:26. > :36:30.it. I'm glad that Honda's come. I love fast, fast circuits and big

:36:30. > :36:34.sweeping flowing bends. It is what racing a bike is all about. Coming

:36:34. > :36:39.here and getting to do that, when it is dry there is not a better

:36:39. > :36:48.place in the world. This is undoubtedly my favourite circuit to

:36:48. > :36:53.race at. So Keith Amor in pole position. But just have a look who

:36:53. > :37:00.is alongside him on the front row. The man who has just had his debut

:37:00. > :37:04.win at the Ulster. So full of confidence, Michael Dunlop, so full

:37:04. > :37:08.of attitude and now it is almost as if he has is the covered a secret.

:37:08. > :37:15.He knows he can do it and it is just a question of when he does it

:37:15. > :37:22.in the race. What a front row though? Yes and also this is your

:37:22. > :37:28.favourite class. Oh yes. I do love a 600. They're always shoulder to

:37:28. > :37:32.shoulder. I'm sure we will see lots of close racing. We're on board

:37:32. > :37:38.with Michael Dunlop. Watch the lights. I'm sure they know where

:37:38. > :37:43.they R Keith Amor, Michael Dunlop, but a great start from Cameron

:37:43. > :37:49.Donald. Here we go. And Donald's got his nose in front. We're on

:37:49. > :37:54.board with Michael Dunlop. He has got his whole bike in front. A

:37:54. > :38:04.whole bunch of them behind him. Martin has come through and Gary

:38:04. > :38:10.Johnson. This is the one we're interested n Cameron Donald left

:38:10. > :38:16.the line first. What a great start for him. Everyone was talking about

:38:16. > :38:21.Keith Amor and Michael Dunlop. But look at this. Michael Dunlop in

:38:21. > :38:27.second. Gary Johnson up to fourth. And then Dunlop, William and

:38:27. > :38:31.further back. And then Cameron Donald, down Deer's Leap. A

:38:31. > :38:39.rollercoaster ride that is the Dundrod circuit. Bruce Anstey, so

:38:39. > :38:42.many hitters in this race. So many potential winners. Streaming in,

:38:42. > :38:47.nose to tail now and Keith Amor couldn't get off the line as well

:38:47. > :38:54.as he would have liked. He isn't in the position that he would want.

:38:54. > :38:58.How good is this for Cameron don afpltd Michael Dunlop checking, I -

:38:58. > :39:03.- Donald, Michael Dunlop checking. Johnson up to third. The trick is,

:39:03. > :39:07.you have got to be in the group. You can be first, second or third,

:39:07. > :39:12.as long as you're in the group, you're in with a chance. I don't

:39:12. > :39:16.think that Cameron Donald knows how aggressive Michael Dunlop looks. He

:39:16. > :39:26.is so neat and tidy compared to a year ago. He has got this thing off

:39:26. > :39:32.his back and he is now a fully... Oh red flag! That is the reason why.

:39:32. > :39:36.The rider's up and OK. A hairpin there. It will be a slow one.

:39:36. > :39:43.Michael Dunlop very hands on. He is full of confidence. He has got the

:39:43. > :39:50.composure. He knows, he absolutely knows thousand win a race and --

:39:50. > :39:56.how to win a race. Here we go. Its another one from Donald and Amor

:39:56. > :40:04.going backward. Iain Lougher has burst through. He had a terrible

:40:04. > :40:10.start last time. Now Cameron Donald is ahead of Amor. But the

:40:10. > :40:15.Australian will lead them for the first time in this restarted race.

:40:15. > :40:21.Michael Dunlop, that was the thing of old, with his corner speed and

:40:21. > :40:27.the way he looks confident. In the past so many times he was sluggish

:40:27. > :40:33.off the line. He always had to play catch up. But he has made it up

:40:33. > :40:38.behind Ian Lougher. Well Ian Lougher, the senior citizen of this

:40:38. > :40:44.class of racing, but that wasn't a very senior start. It was very

:40:44. > :40:50.aggressive. Cameron Donald has make the break. It is all to play for.

:40:50. > :40:55.If you're there, you're in with a slout and they are all there.

:40:55. > :40:58.Cameron Donald's done the right thing. Have you heard the one about

:40:58. > :41:06.the Australia, the Englishman, the Scotsman, the Irishman, they are

:41:06. > :41:13.all in there. This is serious stuff. Cameron conald -- Donald's doing

:41:13. > :41:21.the right thing. They all start getting in each other's drafts.

:41:21. > :41:25.Donald is trying to break away. Butless not managing it. Look,

:41:25. > :41:29.double figures, that is how many potential race winners there.

:41:29. > :41:36.is a man's corner. Although it doesn't look like it on the TV.

:41:36. > :41:42.There is a lot of those. That is one of the reasons why this circuit

:41:42. > :41:47.sois good. And why so many people watch it. Keith Amor through into

:41:47. > :41:52.second place. The track is much drier than in the earlier races.

:41:52. > :41:58.We're on board with Michael Dunlop again. Looks like William in front

:41:58. > :42:03.of him, is it. Dry roads every where and the weather is so

:42:03. > :42:12.changeable. Keith Amor will dry and go up the inside of Donald. Not on

:42:12. > :42:18.this occasion though. No, no, no! One sixth of them there. A 12 wheel

:42:18. > :42:23.runaway express train. Top of the circuit now. Come ran Donald top of

:42:23. > :42:30.the world. Keith Amor right behind him. Looking for the inside. We

:42:30. > :42:34.have seen passing manoeuvres here. William don lop goes through up to

:42:34. > :42:40.third. There is about four different lines around the hairpin.

:42:40. > :42:45.Look at the speed that Cameron Donald's carrying there. Michael

:42:45. > :42:53.Dunlop goes up the inside of Johnson. What happened? I thought

:42:53. > :43:00.he was down. He was kneeling right into Michael done lon. Johnson has

:43:01. > :43:06.lost momentum. We're looking at still Cameron Donald leading them.

:43:06. > :43:16.Wave the checkered flag we have had enough to last is one lap.

:43:16. > :43:19.

:43:19. > :43:27.United only one lap? I thoughts it Dunlop, trying to go through. The

:43:27. > :43:31.weather has gone dark. There are with patches back on the road.

:43:31. > :43:39.would fancy him to apply the slipstream of the Australian year.

:43:39. > :43:49.He used up in a right then. Michael Dunlop out of his seat. And Bruce

:43:49. > :43:59.and stay has tacked onto the back of this group. -- Bruce Anstey.

:43:59. > :44:04.

:44:04. > :44:11.Cameron Donald has got to try and touch insane. This is not sensible!

:44:11. > :44:16.The air goes Cameron Donald. I think that Cameron Donald in a

:44:16. > :44:26.straight line on a 600 is the fastest bike out there. How does

:44:26. > :44:28.

:44:28. > :44:33.that happen? They are getting towed along, I think. This is where they

:44:33. > :44:39.won at all last year. Cameron Donald hands got the speed into the

:44:39. > :44:45.tongue. He is dictating this race at present. He is inch-perfect. He

:44:45. > :44:50.is not making any mistakes and he has caught the most powerful bike.

:44:50. > :44:59.Cameron Donald very much back on form. So quick through here. So

:44:59. > :45:09.easy to get it wrong. And there is. There is not the length of pipe

:45:09. > :45:19.between them. Bus - the length of a bike. They are making a break for

:45:19. > :45:23.

:45:23. > :45:29.it, Gary Johnson. No, he backed off. And he had to. There was no way

:45:29. > :45:35.through. William Dunlop in third- place match. Guy Martin, further

:45:35. > :45:41.back, just on board now with Michael Dunlop. Is he going

:45:41. > :45:46.through? And William Dunlop goes through. That looks as though

:45:46. > :45:56.Michael Dunlop is trying to get through as well. Gary Johnson is in

:45:56. > :45:57.

:45:57. > :46:02.third place mat. And he is going to lose two places. William Dunlop up

:46:02. > :46:09.the outside of Cameron Donald. Super Reading. Cameron Donald did

:46:09. > :46:16.not see that one coming. He saw a black magic in the slipstream. I'm

:46:16. > :46:21.a stake from Johnson. He has gone white. That is turn out of it. He

:46:21. > :46:29.has rolled himself away. How did he do that? He bashed it up on the

:46:29. > :46:33.grass. Yes, the back wheel upon the grass, the top of the dip. The

:46:33. > :46:43.front wheel was on the tarmac, the Weir is on the grass, he spins

:46:43. > :47:00.

:47:00. > :47:04.around. I shake off their head. -- four of place. Keith Amor, Cameron

:47:04. > :47:13.Donald is going to take William Dunlop. And it is Michael Dunlop on

:47:13. > :47:21.William Dunlop - is see-through? Yes he is! What a race! There is

:47:21. > :47:31.Gary Johnson. He said up, but he has lost a lot of time. Talk about

:47:31. > :47:41.naff and tuck. They are friends of the bikes but not on the bikes at

:47:41. > :47:42.

:47:42. > :47:50.the moment. We yon Dunlop using every inch and more. -- William

:47:50. > :47:58.Dunlop. He just shut the door in his face! There is that panoramic

:47:58. > :48:04.view, if you have got time to look at that. Running down the hole now.

:48:04. > :48:09.Michael Dunlop baster just get his breath back after that. Now there

:48:09. > :48:14.is a bit of space between them. Michael Dunlop chasing after his

:48:14. > :48:22.brother. William already has a Ulster Grand Prix victories under

:48:22. > :48:32.his belt. Now, Michael has joined him and completes the set. William

:48:32. > :48:37.

:48:37. > :48:42.Dunlop bleeding. -- leading. Bruce Anstey, the quiet Kiwi, could

:48:42. > :48:48.easily do that, but I think this is shaping up to be a battle. You do

:48:48. > :48:54.not get quieter than William Dunlop off the track. He knows what to do

:48:54. > :49:02.and how to do it on a 600 around Dundrod. He is looking super-smooth,

:49:02. > :49:10.and he is super-smooth. William and Michael are chalk and cheese.

:49:10. > :49:16.Michael certainly, now. He has got everything. And William has come to

:49:16. > :49:21.the front. World and is looking good on a 1,000 cc bike, which she

:49:21. > :49:25.has not done before. Look at Michael Dunlop ride his bike. Look

:49:25. > :49:35.House mood, determined and for all he is. He is going to go on,

:49:35. > :49:42.

:49:42. > :49:48.winning, for years. -- thought Cork -- look house move. -- how smooth.

:49:48. > :49:56.He is through the gap! William does not tend to hook into the up and as

:49:56. > :49:59.much as Michael, and Michael seems to follow the line. William was

:49:59. > :50:09.minding his own business going through the hairpin and his brother

:50:09. > :50:21.

:50:21. > :50:25.stuck the front wheel up. Remember Inch-perfect, from both of them.

:50:25. > :50:35.They trust each other and know each other's riding. But who can predict

:50:35. > :50:41.this? We should see Cameron Donald going through. Side by side,

:50:41. > :50:51.Michael Dunlop and William Dunlop. We are looking back at Ryan

:50:51. > :50:51.

:50:51. > :50:59.Farquhar. Just a little bit of track position working for William.

:50:59. > :51:07.Breaking away at the front. wouldn't call that a breakaway.

:51:07. > :51:12.Going back to Cameron Donald. There is a gap or third place. Was it

:51:12. > :51:21.just this half-a-dozen riders? of the slipstream of brother

:51:21. > :51:31.Michael, comes William. Look at this speed! William carrying a lot

:51:31. > :51:35.

:51:36. > :51:45.more speed than Michael. It is Honda presses Yamaha. -- versus

:51:46. > :51:49.

:51:49. > :51:57.Yamaha. Cameron closing in, coming down towards Irelands. Speeding

:51:57. > :52:05.through. Some of the corners are hot, and some others, they do not

:52:05. > :52:11.enjoy so much. The circuit is so great because every bit of it

:52:11. > :52:15.counts. There isn't anywhere where you can afford to back off. It is

:52:15. > :52:20.all working. Michael Dunlop will try to slipstream his brother

:52:20. > :52:28.William. Their egos. And he kicks to the right. He takes the lead

:52:28. > :52:35.from William. So, it is not a Yamaha-Honda think, after all, it

:52:35. > :52:41.is a slipstream thing. On the right hand, coming up to the top. There

:52:42. > :52:46.we go, William Dunlop years ahead again. This is what they call a

:52:46. > :52:51.ding-dong. When you are in someone's slipstream, not only do

:52:51. > :52:56.you get a toe, but you suck them back so you are slowing down the

:52:56. > :53:03.bike in front. That is why you get this catapult effect. We have seen

:53:03. > :53:09.between these two, swapping places. It is a case of who gets the best

:53:09. > :53:15.drop for the chequered flag. This is what is unique about road racing,

:53:15. > :53:19.certainly year, and at the North West 200. He's just a little bit

:53:19. > :53:27.wider into the town, every time. Michael knew that William was going

:53:27. > :53:31.to do that. -- into the turn. Michael Bulley hugs the line as he

:53:31. > :53:39.goes around the hairpin, William tends to drift out and that leads

:53:40. > :53:47.the door open. Before the chicane, were that slipstream works and they

:53:47. > :53:52.all get sucked in, yet that is happening all the way around.

:53:52. > :54:02.crossed the line. Bruce and state, still, back to fourth place now

:54:02. > :54:03.

:54:03. > :54:10.have. -- Bruce as they -- Anstey. We have concentrated on the Dunlops

:54:10. > :54:18.so much at the front. About to take third place, the Australian. There

:54:18. > :54:26.are five riders with a three-second spread. Going into the last lap. It

:54:26. > :54:32.is anybody's game. And they are still at it. Look at Bruce Anstey,

:54:32. > :54:40.closing on them. I am going to see if I can get a bet on him because

:54:40. > :54:47.you would not get one, lap ago. Looking to pull into second place

:54:47. > :54:57.magnet. Used as the going through - this is fantastic! -- Bruce as the

:54:57. > :54:58.

:54:58. > :55:07.going through. -- Anstey. Bruce and stay has definitely got his name on

:55:07. > :55:11.the podium. Enter place. Some spots of rain, so that might just come

:55:11. > :55:18.into play. So on chances now for the back markers. Ryan Farquhar

:55:18. > :55:24.moves up one position. We are on board with Michael Dunlop, the man

:55:24. > :55:32.in second place. And Cameron Donald and Guy Martin... It is a three-way

:55:32. > :55:36.fight at the front. He was right on the grass. Half of a lap, 3.5 miles

:55:36. > :55:44.of this Dundrod circuit. One of the Dunlops is going to win this but I

:55:44. > :55:53.don't know which one. That is a big ask, even for Bruce, even for the

:55:53. > :56:03.slipstream. William is still carrying that. It is almost like he

:56:03. > :56:05.

:56:05. > :56:15.got too close. That would be a fast! Will we get a face full of

:56:15. > :56:19.

:56:19. > :56:23.praise and stay? -- Bruce Anstey. And when to take that back about

:56:23. > :56:28.this - they are the is, he has close that gap in the slipstream.

:56:28. > :56:34.And it is a three-way battle! William Dunlop is there, into the

:56:34. > :56:43.hairpin, out of his seat, almost. Watch. He does not hark the white

:56:43. > :56:48.line as much as Michael does. He is trying to defend that line. Dunlop,

:56:48. > :56:55.and William, out of the seat again, half a yard further back going into

:56:55. > :57:01.the hairpin, trying to protect it. I tell you what, it is a brave man

:57:01. > :57:05.who beats Michael Dunlop between here and the chequered flag. It

:57:05. > :57:10.looks as if two rectories are going to come along for Michael Dunlop,

:57:10. > :57:16.back to back. William gave his brother the opening he wanted at

:57:16. > :57:21.the hairpin. He went high and wide, and dive back across. I don't think

:57:21. > :57:30.he will let that happen again. Michael Dunlop, two-time winner of

:57:30. > :57:40.the Ulster Grand Prix. There you go. And the results - 0.3 seconds. It

:57:40. > :57:43.

:57:43. > :57:53.did not look that much between Did you time than to perfection?

:57:53. > :57:56.

:57:56. > :58:02.Yes, I played and played. What a great race. It was a great race,

:58:02. > :58:06.with someone that you can buy ice with. Good, tight racing.

:58:06. > :58:12.Ulster men and a Welshman at dominate the Windsor at the Ulster

:58:12. > :58:16.Grand Prix. It has been a fantastic day's racing. Everyone was worried

:58:16. > :58:20.about the damp patches. But the racers have coped pretty well. And

:58:20. > :58:25.we have got some Irish victories at the Ulster Grand Prix. Thank you
