:00:13. > :00:18.this year's Ulster Grand Prix, the fastest motorcycle road race in the

:00:21. > :00:31.60 minutes of some thrilling high- speed action for you. If you missed
:00:31. > :00:34.
:00:34. > :00:44.part one, here is what's happened so far. The Ulster Grand Prix 2011
:00:44. > :01:22.
:01:22. > :01:26.bursts into life! Michael Dunlop! Last year, a New Zealander rewrote
:01:26. > :01:32.the motor cycling record books here in Northern Ireland. Bruce Anstey
:01:32. > :01:41.became the fastest road racer in the world when he recorded a 7.5
:01:41. > :01:51.mile lap at an average speed of just under 134mph. Who better to
:01:51. > :02:03.
:02:03. > :02:11.catch up with him than Phillip on a tour of the city, you didn't
:02:11. > :02:18.expect this. You were the King of the Island last year. It must have
:02:18. > :02:22.been the race of your life? We were under a lot of pressure. It was all
:02:22. > :02:29.down to that last lap. It was one of those laps - everything happened
:02:29. > :02:34.at the right time. It was a perfect lap. I wanted to win badly. For it
:02:34. > :02:39.to happen like that - I was struggling with Cameron - I wanted
:02:39. > :02:46.to be in front of him. Bruce Anstey is saying enough is enough! He is
:02:46. > :02:56.on the right side of the track. He has gone through! I got past him
:02:56. > :02:56.
:02:56. > :03:06.into The Flying Kilo. And I kept going. Surely, he is... He is... Oh
:03:06. > :03:08.
:03:08. > :03:15.he's through! From the Hairpin down, I rode a defensive line. Who would
:03:15. > :03:25.have predicted this - Bruce Anstey... There he goes! Anstey
:03:25. > :03:28.
:03:28. > :03:33.takes it! What a fabulous move. lost your job after that? I was sat
:03:33. > :03:42.around moping around, does anybody want me? I thought, "Who do I
:03:42. > :03:47.ring?" I thought, well, Hutchy will be staying there, so I thought I'll
:03:47. > :03:52.ring Clive. He said, "Come and see me, we will have a chat." I went
:03:52. > :03:57.and seen him and it went from there. It was the first time on Honda and
:03:57. > :04:01.first time on Dunlop tyres and I was pleased with the bikes. I did
:04:01. > :04:07.two laps. I came straight in, I said, "This is the best handling
:04:07. > :04:12.bike I have been on." We are back at the Ulster this week, but it has
:04:12. > :04:22.not been a good start. Give me a rundown on how it has gone for you?
:04:22. > :04:25.
:04:25. > :04:29.It is all down to the weather. My first practice session was on the...
:04:29. > :04:35.The superbike didn't go too well. We came in and the bike looked like
:04:35. > :04:45.we had done a motorcross instead of a road race. I got 19th or 20th,
:04:45. > :04:46.
:04:46. > :04:52.which isn't the best. Guy Martin is on your last year's machine. You
:04:52. > :05:00.must have some plan? Yeah, to finish in front! Not a great
:05:00. > :05:04.qualifying session for Bruce Anstey. He starts way back in 20th for this
:05:04. > :05:12.the Ulster Grand Prix superbike race. On the front row is Keith
:05:12. > :05:18.Amor and Cameron Donald. In pole position it is Guy Martin. Let's
:05:18. > :05:22.join our commentators. Pick a winner out of this, Dave.
:05:22. > :05:26.is pick a tyre for this! They have not had any dry practice. They are
:05:26. > :05:33.looking for a set-up and tyres, or choice of tyre will be a lottery.
:05:33. > :05:43.This could be a race that goes damp. That is the grid for the first of
:05:43. > :05:48.the three waves leaving the line. You have to look at the second wave
:05:48. > :05:52.where you will find Bruce Anstey on the outside of the row. He was the
:05:52. > :05:56.surprise winner of the last race last year. The one thing that will
:05:56. > :06:02.work in his favour is the fact that he might have some clear road in
:06:02. > :06:06.front of him and there should be no-one holding him back... They
:06:06. > :06:11.have gone... Michael Dunlop is on the back wheel. We are on board
:06:11. > :06:15.with Cameron Donald. That is Johnson. Farquhar can't stay there,
:06:15. > :06:22.surely. He's dropped back to third. He is going to be fourth. It is
:06:22. > :06:27.Keith Amor who leads from Johnson, from Cameron Donald. Huge pack
:06:27. > :06:33.heading down towards the right turn as the second wave gets away. Bruce
:06:33. > :06:41.Anstey, left of the picture... out for Derek Sheils. He may stick
:06:41. > :06:48.with Bruce Anstey. We are back with the leaders into Leathemstown
:06:48. > :06:52.Corner. That was Gary Johnson. We are looking at Michael Dunlop who
:06:52. > :06:57.almost spat Cameron Donald off his bike. Keith Amor trying to make the
:06:57. > :07:01.break. There is a bit of a gap. Martin up the inside of Ryan
:07:01. > :07:07.Farquhar. That was a real suck it in hold your breath and breathe out
:07:07. > :07:13.on the exit. Look at these two. Amor and Johnson making a break for
:07:13. > :07:17.it. This is where Keith Amor was so strong last year, he's not going to
:07:17. > :07:22.do that. Bruce Anstey has broken away from the second pack. He has
:07:22. > :07:30.clear road in front of him. No-one fighting with him. No-one in front
:07:30. > :07:37.of him. Where's Gary Johnson? Keith Amor... There he is. He's had a
:07:37. > :07:42.moment. He's dropped right back. I think he's... Johnson might have a
:07:42. > :07:46.problem. Here we go, back with the race leaders again. So Keith Amor
:07:46. > :07:50.then out from Michael Dunlop with Guy Martin, he's pushed right up as
:07:50. > :07:54.well. There is no-one else behind them. There is a fair amount of
:07:54. > :07:59.space going on here. These three have made a break. Guy Martin, how
:07:59. > :08:04.determined does he look? That was a flyer. Not the greatest of starts
:08:04. > :08:11.for Guy Martin on the Suzuki but he is more than making up for it now.
:08:11. > :08:16.No, he is going to take Keith Amor! That was very tidy from Michael
:08:16. > :08:22.Dunlop. He is such a clean and confident rider. Watch him now. It
:08:22. > :08:26.is not the same Michael Dunlop that we had here last year. This is the
:08:26. > :08:32.view from Michael Dunlop looking back at second place. There is
:08:32. > :08:38.smoke there. I would say that must be an engine. His tyres can't be
:08:38. > :08:44.smoking. No. Let's hope... Keith Amor is blasting past. He has a
:08:44. > :08:48.problem. Listening to the engine... Yeah, foot out. It's all over for
:08:48. > :08:53.Michael Dunlop. Is he putting anything down on the track? We have
:08:53. > :08:57.had this this year. Remember the North West, Ryan Farquhar won't
:08:57. > :09:03.forget that. The yellow flag has gone out. The marshal was very
:09:03. > :09:11.quick with that. The flag was out there. Oh... We have a red. What's
:09:11. > :09:16.that about? Is it just the rain or is it something else? Here we go,
:09:16. > :09:23.re-starting the superbike. Reduced laps this time. Guy Martin will be
:09:23. > :09:29.hoping for a better start. Guy Martin is away, we are on board
:09:29. > :09:34.with William Dunlop. John McGuinness made a much better start.
:09:34. > :09:38.Let's hope we see him at the Ulster Grand Prix. It's Guy Martin who has
:09:38. > :09:43.the best of the start. He has. That is really interesting. Maybe the
:09:43. > :09:48.re-start may have worked in his favour. He has been waxing lyrical
:09:48. > :09:53.about that superbike. The second wave gets away again. We can expect
:09:53. > :10:02.to see Bruce Anstey break away from them once more. Look at this, going
:10:02. > :10:06.into Leathemstown Corner, there isn't room for this! He is on the
:10:06. > :10:14.superstock bike as well. The rain was lucky for him. Look at Gary
:10:14. > :10:20.Johnson, trying to push... Oh dear! He's done it. Super speed. Fast
:10:20. > :10:25.through here as well, over the top at Deer's Leap. The front almost
:10:25. > :10:29.takes off. It does. Super-showing from Ryan Farquhar. He is up to
:10:29. > :10:35.fifth. This isn't going to last for him or Michael Dunlop. They won't
:10:35. > :10:39.be able to maintain this pace. bit of guile and damp on the
:10:39. > :10:47.circuit. Bruce Anstey is on a flyer and again we will have to wait and
:10:47. > :10:52.see what his time is. His head was nodding! He is agreeing with you!
:10:52. > :10:55.That again is such another fast corner. Another feature of the
:10:55. > :11:00.Dundrod Circuit. What will we see from William Dunlop this time
:11:00. > :11:06.around? So Keith Amor and Gary Johnson and Guy Martin, those are
:11:06. > :11:09.our main three out in front. Cameron Donald, who is yet to win
:11:09. > :11:16.the Ulster Grand Prix - that is William Dunlop who swoops past.
:11:16. > :11:21.That is odd. On the smaller bikes, it was the other way around. Bruce
:11:21. > :11:25.Anstey has clear road. He can take his lines and get really good lap
:11:25. > :11:32.times out of this. You can get lots of drive up the hill and it is a
:11:32. > :11:37.long, long climb. What a corner that is. What a circuit this is!
:11:37. > :11:45.They are coming up to the Hairpin. It is Keith Amor that will lead
:11:45. > :11:49.them. I wonder how many... He squared off. Lovely and smooth from
:11:49. > :11:54.Ryan Farquhar. Kept the power on through the turn. He is a smooth
:11:54. > :12:03.rider. Him and Lougher are the ones to watch. Anyone who gambled on a
:12:04. > :12:08.wet race... They will be disappointed now. Here we go,
:12:08. > :12:12.William Dunlop up past Ryan Farquhar as if he wasn't there.
:12:12. > :12:20.That is the difference between superbike and superstock. Michael
:12:20. > :12:25.Dunlop has dropped back as they come over Deer's Leap yet again. A
:12:26. > :12:32.great location to spectate from. Plenty of spectators here at
:12:32. > :12:36.Dundrod this year. Stevie Thompson was at the back of the field there.
:12:36. > :12:41.We haven't seen much of him. He has been there or thereabouts at the
:12:41. > :12:48.back of the pack. There is a lot of riders... Oh, that is Guy Martin,
:12:48. > :12:51.Guy Martin through into second place. So he is through to second.
:12:51. > :12:57.Gary Johnson won't give up that easily, though, will he? Just
:12:57. > :13:02.staying with him. It is the battle of the superbikes. Gary Johnson
:13:02. > :13:10.perhaps would say it is last year's bike but it's been brought into
:13:10. > :13:15.this year's spec. Bruce Anstey is leading this race. Guy Martin tries
:13:15. > :13:20.to find his way past Keith Amor. On the time trials, Bruce Anstey leads
:13:20. > :13:24.and quite a good lead as well. at Guy Martin, he has Keith Amor.
:13:25. > :13:33.His name is written on the front of his dials there. He is coming for
:13:33. > :13:41.him. Maybe on the run down towards the Leathemstown Corner. He is
:13:41. > :13:44.hunting Keith Amor's scalp. Gary Johnson - John McGuinness is up
:13:45. > :13:54.there as well. We have hardly mentioned him this year. He was not
:13:55. > :14:00.
:14:00. > :14:05.at the Ulster Grand Prix last year, look at the style of Chris Anstey!
:14:05. > :14:13.-- Bruce Anstey! That might have cost 10 but it certainly was
:14:13. > :14:21.spectacular. That was Chris Walker style. And there is Guy Martin. No,
:14:21. > :14:29.he defends the line. That was classic. Very determined. That
:14:29. > :14:36.isn't exactly what Keith Amor wanted. That is where Ryan Farquhar
:14:36. > :14:42.loses out. The straight line speed. Keith Amor, on the inside, outside
:14:43. > :14:49.of Guy Martin, taking the lead back again. It is Bruce Anstey who was
:14:49. > :14:54.the head of that second wave. Is he still the race leader? Yes!
:14:54. > :15:00.will not know anything about this, Guy Martin on the front wheel.
:15:00. > :15:06.Keith Amor Reid takes the lead. And he has held it over Deer's Leap up
:15:06. > :15:11.to this climb. Half a lap in the lead. Here is a man doing all the
:15:11. > :15:16.action in the lead. Bruce Anstey, the winner last year, of course. He
:15:16. > :15:21.battled his way through in the ultimate race last year. The
:15:21. > :15:29.ultimate Superbike race. This time it is different and he might be on
:15:29. > :15:39.for what would be a his 7th win. will have to wait and see. As well
:15:39. > :15:43.
:15:43. > :15:47.Guy Martin. Keith Amor is second. Watch William Dunlop. No. 6. Watch
:15:47. > :15:57.this... Bruce Anstey is putting in an masterclass. He isn't under any
:15:57. > :15:58.
:15:58. > :16:02.pressure. Everybody is there, in the grandstand, listening... I
:16:02. > :16:08.wonder what the board is telling these boys. Stop this and get on
:16:08. > :16:14.with it! Oh, dear! They need to raise this man and stop scrapping
:16:14. > :16:18.and get some lap times. Bruce Anstey might get on to the slower
:16:18. > :16:27.traffic of the first wave and that might hold him up and it might give
:16:27. > :16:32.the other guy's a proper chance. Deer's Leap. So, Guy Martin, Keith
:16:32. > :16:40.Amor, Gary Johnson, William Dunlop. He has looked so good going into
:16:40. > :16:45.Deer's Leap. Cameron Donald and Michael Dunlop at the back. William
:16:45. > :16:55.Dunlop came to the circuits this year wanting to make his name on
:16:55. > :17:02.the big bike and he has. That is proper racing. Looking good, not
:17:02. > :17:07.just on two-stroke... Well, my word! I think that was Gary Johnson.
:17:07. > :17:14.He was right out in the dirt. And I bet his heart was in his mouth.
:17:14. > :17:20.and that is a big one for Guy Martin! Keith Amor is shaking his
:17:20. > :17:27.head. Disbelief. William Dunlop tries to find a way through. This
:17:27. > :17:32.is by the Ulster Grand Prix is what it is, why they all come here. It
:17:32. > :17:37.keeps attracting new fans. You do not see this on purpose but
:17:37. > :17:45.circuits because these superbikes are going at Superbike speed, you
:17:45. > :17:55.have seen the MotoGP, they are rarely in top gear. They are really
:17:55. > :17:56.
:17:56. > :18:02.giving this hell-for-leather at Dundrod. The superbikes work hard.
:18:02. > :18:07.Putting the power down. Now, Guy Martin, Keith Amor, Gary Johnson
:18:07. > :18:11.and William Dunlop. You could not sort them out. Do they know about
:18:11. > :18:16.Bruce Anstey? They will know what is going on, they will be getting
:18:16. > :18:24.signs. All they can do is raise their own race. Maybe Bruce Anstey
:18:24. > :18:34.will get held up. I wonder how Guy Martin will react at the end of the
:18:34. > :18:37.
:18:37. > :18:42.Swiss if he crosses the line first? -- this race. Maybe they touch?
:18:42. > :18:46.William Dunlop looked like he was almost getting spun off his back.
:18:46. > :18:54.Guy Martin, Keith Amor, who must still be wondering why he isn't
:18:54. > :19:03.leaving this. He cannot get past him. Bruce Anstey, well, he will be
:19:03. > :19:10.enjoying this. More at the front. This debate could roll-on for some
:19:10. > :19:13.time. Close enough to touch the spectators on the final lap. This
:19:13. > :19:21.is Keith Amor on Guy Martin, great shots from the helicopter looking
:19:21. > :19:25.down. Keith Amor, trying to pull the Suzuki... Different terms and
:19:25. > :19:35.different approaches all around the Dundrod circuit. Bruce Anstey still
:19:35. > :19:37.
:19:37. > :19:43.leads this but these two are still battling. Keith Amor is through.
:19:43. > :19:47.This, remember, is the battle for second place. Keith Amor and Guy
:19:47. > :19:54.Martin. Guy Martin on the brakes and he gets the power on, he might
:19:54. > :20:00.just grab this coming out of the hairpin. He almost collected Gary
:20:00. > :20:04.Johnson. Down the line... That is a superb move from Guy Martin, I do
:20:04. > :20:08.not know how much of that was down to Keith Amor letting him through.
:20:08. > :20:16.That was down to carry Martin really getting the power on. -- Guy
:20:16. > :20:21.Martin. Stopwatches out. Michael Dunlop comes over the line. Where
:20:21. > :20:26.is Bruce Anstey? Here he is. He cannot believe this. He is going to
:20:26. > :20:31.win this race from behind. Even though they know that this
:20:31. > :20:34.chequered flag is the one for the winner, Bruce Anstey nose. Will Guy
:20:34. > :20:40.Martin and Keith Amor actually believe what they're seeing when
:20:40. > :20:45.they'd see this leader board? Nearly five seconds behind Bruce
:20:45. > :20:49.Anstey. Did that take more planning? It did. I said to the
:20:49. > :20:56.boys that was the first time they looked at me, I don't normally look
:20:56. > :21:00.at the boards. I needed to see when I was. No, I really enjoyed that, I
:21:00. > :21:05.had a good, clear run and it worked out well. I was just worried about
:21:05. > :21:11.the last couple of laps, catching the back markers. But it was all
:21:12. > :21:21.right and job done. It's not all right, is it? They were battling
:21:21. > :21:31.hammer and tongs. I was racing, that's what we do. It isn't right.
:21:31. > :21:34.
:21:34. > :21:40.But... It is racing! I enjoyed that. So, a controversial Superbike win
:21:40. > :21:43.for Bruce Anstey, what do you make of that, for it? Very interesting,
:21:43. > :21:47.Bruce Anstey rode the race of his life, he was riding against the
:21:47. > :21:50.clock, he won the race fair and square and the other boys were
:21:50. > :21:55.gutted and in shock because deep down, everybody knew that Bruce
:21:55. > :21:59.Anstey would be there but nobody expected him to win. It was shock,
:21:59. > :22:04.Guy Martin had the race of his life, he fought hard. He thought he had
:22:05. > :22:11.won the race and he was declared a second place. Keith Amor tried to
:22:11. > :22:16.keep it calm but he was annoyed, there will be controversy over this
:22:16. > :22:21.but to be honest, everybody played by the rules. Do those rules need
:22:21. > :22:27.to be changed? It is very confusing for the fans on the track. It is
:22:27. > :22:30.very confusing. But the race was run by the rules, the teams went
:22:30. > :22:37.along and they asked the clerk of the course, can we be moved into
:22:37. > :22:40.the first group? He said know. I can understand how they feel. They
:22:40. > :22:44.have ridden a race of their lives and have been beaten by someone
:22:44. > :22:49.from the second group. Supersport his next, another ding-
:22:49. > :22:53.dong between the Dunlop brothers? The Dunlop brothers had a superb
:22:53. > :22:57.first race but I studied the results and Bruce Anstey was almost
:22:57. > :23:01.two seconds faster than anyone out there and he only managed third
:23:01. > :23:06.place so he made up for that with the superbikes. This debt of thing
:23:06. > :23:12.has shaken up the whole field and everyone has fired up to win more.
:23:12. > :23:16.They will be six or eight people out for this lead... All fighting
:23:16. > :23:21.for the lead. Expect this to be fierce on the front row. Look at
:23:21. > :23:25.that line-up. Bruce Anstey has got that a win under his belt, Gary
:23:25. > :23:32.Johnson, Ian Lougher, John McGuinness, Conor Cummins, we have
:23:32. > :23:34.not seen lot of him the slip. the first race we saw a lot of the
:23:34. > :23:40.Dunlop brothers, practically shoulder to shoulder and more of
:23:40. > :23:46.the same coming up. Very dry looking track. Keith Amor, he might
:23:46. > :23:53.get... And Guy Martin, getting into third place. Going past Michael
:23:53. > :24:03.Dunlop. That was a good start, towards Rock Bends. Still shoulder
:24:03. > :24:07.to shoulder. The Dunlop brothers are all over him. He gets away.
:24:07. > :24:12.That is a good start, no problems and back with the leaders.
:24:12. > :24:18.leader is Cameron Donald. William Dunlop, expect to see him near the
:24:18. > :24:26.front at the end of this race, I would imagine. But Cameron Donald
:24:26. > :24:31.has taken them up to Deer's Leap. Flat out, into 6th gear. 170 mph.
:24:31. > :24:36.Over the top. This is the most breathtaking corner in motorcycle
:24:36. > :24:43.racing, for sure. It certainly is, they're doing this practically flat
:24:43. > :24:49.out. William Dunlop, here we go, slipstream. Not on this occasion.
:24:49. > :24:53.Down through the gearbox. We had this long drive, four miles up a
:24:53. > :24:58.whole. And every single corner is vital, you have to get the bike out
:24:58. > :25:08.of it to carry on. John McGuinness, about time we have seen him at
:25:08. > :25:08.
:25:08. > :25:15.Dundrod. He is at the back of this pack. Guy Martin, looking back at
:25:15. > :25:21.William Dunlop. And the driver to get up here, hard you, to the
:25:21. > :25:27.corner really affect the place. It is the previous quarter and how
:25:27. > :25:33.well you can handle it. These are crucial. Absolutely crucial, you
:25:33. > :25:37.cannot afford any mistake because you have so many other contenders,
:25:37. > :25:41.seven or eight other guys. Normally it is two or three of them. Here,
:25:41. > :25:47.they are all bunched together. Look at Gary Johnson on the back of this
:25:47. > :25:54.pack. Yes, he goes through. That is his British Supersport winning
:25:54. > :26:00.machine. Looking for his first Ulster Grand Prix winner. Into the
:26:00. > :26:05.hairpin. Johnson, up into third place. He is having a very good
:26:05. > :26:11.week at the Ulster. He is long overdue for a win. He is riding
:26:11. > :26:18.like a man who knows it is in his future. Maybe today? William Dunlop,
:26:18. > :26:22.one of those confident riders, if he is full of confidence, there is
:26:22. > :26:28.nothing, maybe his brother, that can stop him winning. Across the
:26:28. > :26:32.line. Cam Road Donald, Guy Martin, William Dunlop, Guy Martin
:26:32. > :26:41.threatening to take the place away... The fastest part of the
:26:41. > :26:46.course. Gary Johnson, Cameron Donald! Michael Dunlop, 180 mph.
:26:46. > :26:52.Shoulder to shoulder. Conor Cummins coming through. That was Michael
:26:52. > :26:57.Dunlop at his best. He had a fine drive out of that final corner.
:26:57. > :27:05.That really fires you down this flying kilo and let's you do things
:27:06. > :27:12.like that. Five way scrap at the front. Going into Deer's Leap. This
:27:12. > :27:17.is what it is like, looking back at William Dunlop. There are a couple
:27:17. > :27:20.of places on this course were it really is very scary because you
:27:20. > :27:28.need to keep on the gas, you always need to drive through to the next
:27:28. > :27:31.one. It is so fast, that right hand. Michael Dunlop looking behind him.
:27:31. > :27:35.You can see Gary Johnson has dropped back, he was in 5th place
:27:35. > :27:40.at this part of the course last time and he managed to get third,
:27:40. > :27:46.can he do it again? Michael Dunlop might be able to hit back on the
:27:46. > :27:54.Australian. Looking back from Guy Martin. William Dunlop, into third.
:27:54. > :27:59.So Close! That was a nice pass, good drive. William Dunlop, and his
:27:59. > :28:07.brother, making good use of that already this week. Ian Lougher
:28:07. > :28:13.might have a word to say because it was named after him last year.
:28:13. > :28:20.wonder what he takes because I want some! We keep giving him his senior
:28:20. > :28:23.citizens award but he is always there. Michael Dunlop pulls out
:28:23. > :28:29.from Cameron Donald and William Dunlop might be the winner of this
:28:30. > :28:38.little scrap. That was lovely. Michael Dunlop, we saw this before,
:28:38. > :28:43.remember. Watch the line. William Dunlop leads! From Cameron Donald,
:28:43. > :28:48.can he died of the inside? Cameron Donald has got that one coming and
:28:48. > :28:58.William must have watched the first races. He has squared off the turn
:28:58. > :29:05.
:29:05. > :29:09.really quickly. Absolutely inch- racing weather we have had so far
:29:09. > :29:19.this year. Will this be the best of six? Even though the weather is not
:29:19. > :29:25.as good as last year, Richard, it is noticeable - there are more
:29:25. > :29:30.people here this year than last. Have umbrella will go racing - the
:29:30. > :29:34.spectators have come to see this! Cameron Donald is coming under
:29:34. > :29:38.pressure from William and Michael Dunlop. Cameron Donald has been
:29:38. > :29:44.mugged! I shut my eyes, what happened?! Michael from the left,
:29:44. > :29:48.William from the right and Cameron Donald - wow! Cameron Donald's
:29:48. > :29:53.Honda is super-quick. Even though he is in the same team as William,
:29:53. > :30:01.in a straight line, his bike looks to be the quickest out there.
:30:01. > :30:07.William Dunlop's back wheel - wow! It was almost speedway around the
:30:07. > :30:11.Leathemstown Corner there. William Dunlop tooked down behind the
:30:11. > :30:16.screen coming towards us. His brother is leading. There's been no
:30:16. > :30:22.love between those two of late. Cameron Donald we saw the straight
:30:22. > :30:28.line speed. That is such a corner and Michael Dunlop came round there
:30:28. > :30:34.like a man who was fully committed. Will it pay off on the rundown to
:30:34. > :30:40.Cochranstown? It hasn't. Cameron Donald was fully committed there.
:30:40. > :30:48.We are looking from Guy Martin back to Gary Johnson, fourth to fifth.
:30:48. > :30:51.Here they come. Ireland's. You don't necessarily getting into
:30:51. > :31:00.second or first won't necessarily mean you will win the race.
:31:00. > :31:05.Absolutely. You have to be in the mix at the end. He is coming around
:31:05. > :31:12.Dawson's for the last time. Look, this gap, it goes back to fifth,
:31:12. > :31:15.these five are all in it. Yeah, it will take something from Guy Martin
:31:15. > :31:20.and Gary Johnson - they have to pull some rabbits out if they are
:31:20. > :31:25.going to start closing in. If the front three start tripping each
:31:25. > :31:35.other up, maybe we will Segarry Johnson and Guy Martin. Cameron
:31:35. > :31:38.
:31:38. > :31:48.Donald is in front. Oh, and... says sorry as well! I'm not sure
:31:48. > :31:53.that was sorry or just leave me alone?! That was again - that
:31:53. > :32:02.Hairpin - and the two Dunlop brothers, we have seen so much of
:32:02. > :32:10.that. The two Dunlop brothers carrying on the tradition of the
:32:10. > :32:17.Dunlop brothers at Dundrod. Here we go, chalk off another lap. Again on
:32:17. > :32:22.to The Flying Kilo. They need to carry the speed down here, keep it
:32:22. > :32:29.pinned until the last moment. You get the countdown boards going into
:32:29. > :32:34.the bends. Michael Dunlop almost got close enough there. Rock
:32:34. > :32:38.Bends... We are looking back at Keith Amor and Anstey and John
:32:38. > :32:45.McGuinness. Lots of names in the frame at the start of this race who
:32:45. > :32:55.aren't in it at the moment. Turning right at Leathemstown Corner.
:32:55. > :33:03.Michael Dunlop came round here in motorcross fashion last time.
:33:03. > :33:06.is where Cameron is so strong on that Honda. Maybe he's got it
:33:06. > :33:09.geared higher. With the bigger bikes you have to have a good
:33:09. > :33:13.front-end feel for stability. You need to be stable on a course like
:33:13. > :33:19.this. William is trying to hit back at Cameron. He is on the right part
:33:19. > :33:23.of the track but see there, Cameron Donald seems to have the legs on
:33:23. > :33:27.William. Michael is there in third. There is a bit of a gap back to
:33:27. > :33:33.fourth place which is still Guy Martin. Gary Johnson is there as
:33:34. > :33:37.well. Not close enough. We are looking at a three-way fight. Guy
:33:37. > :33:42.Martin's lap times are not on the same pace as those of the three
:33:42. > :33:49.that we are looking at. This is where William and Michael will, if
:33:49. > :33:54.they are going to beat Cameron Donald, they will beat them at the
:33:54. > :33:59.Hairpin. It will not be about flat- out speed. Cameron Donald's bike is
:33:59. > :34:03.the fastest out there. I have to say, David, there was nothing
:34:03. > :34:08.tactful about Michael Dunlop going through that Hairpin on the
:34:08. > :34:11.previous lap? Cameron Donald was superb around the Hairpin. Michael
:34:11. > :34:18.couldn't get past. Cameron Donald, this is what we saw at the North
:34:18. > :34:22.West 200 on a 600, he is repeating it here again at Dundrod. I think
:34:22. > :34:26.if I had to put my money where my mouth is, I would say Cameron
:34:26. > :34:30.Donald is looking like the race winner here. That is a big call.
:34:30. > :34:35.Let's see what happens. If he is in this position, or at the Hairpin,
:34:35. > :34:39.if he is leading out of the Hairpin on the final lap, it will be
:34:39. > :34:45.Cameron Donald's race. That is where Cameron needs to be. Across
:34:45. > :34:49.the line. There will still be on that final lap, the opportunity as
:34:49. > :34:54.Phillip said for some maniac to stick it up the inside in The
:34:54. > :35:01.Quarries. I know where that conversation is going! Oh he's been
:35:01. > :35:10.done! So good through there, Michael Dunlop. He pushed it a bit
:35:10. > :35:16.more than he was prepared to. it's cleared up... Cameron Donald
:35:16. > :35:22.out of position there, off the seat. Here we go again. Watch Cameron
:35:22. > :35:29.Donald, he will fly past Michael Dunlop. He got a good drive out of
:35:29. > :35:33.the corner. I think Cameron might be prepared to give away something
:35:33. > :35:40.going into the turns, in order to get the drive out of the corner if
:35:40. > :35:44.he can. He wants to get it in as fast as he can. He is super-fast.
:35:44. > :35:49.Here is William Dunlop. I had exactly that conversation with
:35:49. > :35:54.Phillip and I said is it better to be slower in and fast out? He gave
:35:54. > :36:01.me that look, he said, "A good rider is fast in and fast out!"
:36:01. > :36:09.Anyway, we are looking at the top three in the Supersport Race, it is
:36:10. > :36:19.William Dunlop behind Michael Dunlop again. Michael Dunlop has no
:36:20. > :36:19.
:36:20. > :36:25.fear going into a turn. This is down to Tornagrough. They need to
:36:25. > :36:29.get past Cameron Donald into the Hairpin. Michael Dunlop has Hairpin
:36:29. > :36:37.shape all over him now. He was squaring up for that on the run
:36:37. > :36:47.down towards the Hairpin. He is not going to do it here. Look at
:36:47. > :36:50.
:36:51. > :36:55.Cameron, hooking it in, perfect again. It's all eyes on these three.
:36:55. > :36:59.They are having their own private scrap. Here we go. Michael's not
:36:59. > :37:03.prepared to get past, it would seem, through here, so too William.
:37:03. > :37:07.are closing in. He needs to be on the back of Cameron Donald as they
:37:07. > :37:14.go over the start-finish line. Nothing to be gained in showing
:37:14. > :37:21.your hand early as well. No. A good rider might save it up for the last
:37:22. > :37:26.lap. This is the last lap, Richard. You can take it defensively through
:37:26. > :37:29.there. If you don't, you might leave the door open. I wonder
:37:29. > :37:34.whether William Dunlop was rehearsing that. He's another
:37:34. > :37:39.problem to deal with. Both of them, no? Cameron moved over to the right
:37:39. > :37:45.and William had to back off then. There goes Gary Johnson across the
:37:46. > :37:49.line. Here comes McGuinness and Amor and Anstey. Gary Johnson has
:37:49. > :37:54.dropped away from that battle at the front. Here it is. There is a
:37:54. > :37:58.bit of space now as Michael Dunlop goes back to second. Again, we have
:37:58. > :38:03.seen this every time out of the Leathemstown Corner, it is Cameron
:38:03. > :38:10.Donald, the fastest 600 out there. William has gained as well. He is
:38:10. > :38:14.certainly in it. Oh yes he is! too Michael Dunlop. Three abreast!
:38:14. > :38:19.Wow! This is... William was thinking about that. This is the
:38:19. > :38:22.Ulster Grand Prix. We have still got a few more turns to go. Amor
:38:22. > :38:28.ahead of McGuinness now. Bruce Anstey still in touch with those
:38:28. > :38:32.two but let's go back to this. This is where the battle was and is.
:38:32. > :38:39.Where is Cameron Donald? There is William Dunlop ahead of Michael
:38:39. > :38:43.Dunlop. Where is Cameron Donald? he ahead? No. There he is. I wonder
:38:43. > :38:47.if he has had a mistake somewhere. He must have made a mistake. We are
:38:47. > :38:54.on board with Guy Martin, remember him? Yeah, Guy Martin, this is the
:38:54. > :39:01.man in fourth place. Gary Johnson fifth. Here we go. It's between
:39:01. > :39:06.William and Michael. Is he going to run wide? Yes, he is! He's done it
:39:06. > :39:10.again. Left just enough space for Michael Dunlop to slip one up there.
:39:10. > :39:14.He didn't need a second invitation. These three could equally do the
:39:14. > :39:18.same thing. It is not going to get the attention of the spectators
:39:18. > :39:24.here at Dundrod as much as that did with Michael Dunlop grabbing the
:39:24. > :39:29.lead again. Is it going to be win number three? In amongst the back
:39:29. > :39:33.markers, here they go, it is going to be Michael Dunlop. Look at that.
:39:33. > :39:41.Chequered flag, third time at the Ulster Grand Prix for Michael
:39:41. > :39:46.Dunlop. Three wins in a day. Let's check out how close it was at the
:39:46. > :39:56.end. Cameron Donald, a valiant third place, just over a second
:39:56. > :39:57.
:39:57. > :40:04.behind William Dunlop. The back time for your brother? I wasn't
:40:04. > :40:08.sure where to judge him. I made a move and done a couple of things -
:40:08. > :40:14.it was good. I read the race. I knew the last lap I'll do it. I
:40:14. > :40:19.done it. I'm happy with that. Certainly did. He certainly does
:40:19. > :40:25.look happy and why not. He came here with no wins at the Ulster and
:40:25. > :40:31.now he's got three. And after a no- holds-barred race like that, it is
:40:31. > :40:36.not surprising to see they are not all patting each other on the back.
:40:36. > :40:43.The Ulster Grand Prix is one of Ireland's oldest sporting events.
:40:43. > :40:53.Two of the most successful riders in the history are from the du'
:40:53. > :40:54.
:40:54. > :41:04.Lisburn, Ray ma du' McCulloch and Brian Reid. I took both men on a
:41:04. > :41:36.
:41:36. > :41:46.interview, that is where it all stemmed from. Ray McCulloch he was
:41:46. > :41:46.
:41:47. > :41:56.named "the destroyer". I started there first. And then Brian come
:41:57. > :41:58.
:41:58. > :42:05.along. Iain McGregor and Trevor Steele. There was always the
:42:05. > :42:12.rivalry between us. So it all sort of - it was a friendly rivalry
:42:12. > :42:22.between us. The fans got more involved than the riders. There was
:42:22. > :42:25.
:42:25. > :42:35.a committee formed, a proposal, for a tribute garden. I think it would
:42:35. > :42:42.
:42:42. > :42:46.be good for the local area. It would be fantastic. I clinched two
:42:46. > :42:53.World Championships up at Dundrod. That one is special to me. I have
:42:53. > :42:57.some great memories up there. eyes are on the favourite Ray
:42:57. > :43:01.McCulloch. It would be one of the best road races that there is and
:43:01. > :43:11.always has been. McCulloch knows nothing but his own machine can
:43:11. > :43:12.
:43:12. > :43:15.stop him from winning a second Ulster Grand Prix. It's planned a
:43:15. > :43:19.special tribute will be built to those riders in the village. Time
:43:19. > :43:25.for the last race of the day. The men at the front of the grid will
:43:25. > :43:29.be worried about the man at the back, Bruce Anstey.
:43:29. > :43:32.The bar room arguments are going to go on about this one. Bruce Anstey
:43:32. > :43:37.came to the Ulster last year and took everyone by surprise. He's
:43:37. > :43:43.done it again this year. He has. Look at this grid for the last race
:43:43. > :43:49.of the day. No Ryan Farquhar out there. The five race a day rule.
:43:49. > :43:55.There is no Ian Lougher. It's the man starting from the front of the
:43:55. > :43:59.second wave that all eyes will be on because they won't want to be
:43:59. > :44:05.sneak attacked again by Bruce Anstey. I wonder how much that will
:44:05. > :44:11.be on their minds right now. Probably not because it is eyes on
:44:11. > :44:15.the job ahead! Look at Michael Dunlop. It looks like Keith Amor
:44:15. > :44:25.this time. He sprints to the front as they go The Flying Kilo for the
:44:25. > :44:32.
:44:32. > :44:41.through. Guy Martin goes through as well. The next wave gets away with
:44:41. > :44:46.Bruce Anstey. He is the man alongside. We are riding with Bruce
:44:46. > :44:53.Anstey, not the best start. Gary Johnson had a terrible start in the
:44:53. > :45:00.first race but he recovered quickly and it got very busy after that.
:45:01. > :45:10.That whole grid is still together. Honda try to step -- stamp
:45:10. > :45:15.themselves on this one. Gary Johnson, on Michael Dunlop. On
:45:15. > :45:20.board with William Dunlop again. You can see how wet it is here. As
:45:20. > :45:24.Bruce Anstey is on his way and look at the front, here he comes.
:45:25. > :45:30.will want to make the most of that. Bruce Anstey does not know how he
:45:30. > :45:40.does this, he just turns up and rights as much about faster than it
:45:40. > :45:43.
:45:43. > :45:47.is humanly possible. -- rides that faster. Bruce Anstey might have
:45:47. > :45:54.been the fastest bike at the first race but he won the race as far as
:45:54. > :46:02.he was concerned. On board with Cameron Donald. He loses his place,
:46:02. > :46:07.the back wheel almost sliding out. It is down. Guy Martin, trying to
:46:07. > :46:14.reel in Gary Johnson. He is. That is Keith Amor. You are right, he is
:46:14. > :46:19.in the lead. Guy Martin leads from Keith Amor. William Dunlop back in
:46:19. > :46:25.5th place and Here comes Keith Amor. He will not get round on the
:46:25. > :46:30.outside of the turn. And Guy Martin has got this one sorted for the
:46:30. > :46:36.time being. That is a splendid part of the race track, just a series of
:46:36. > :46:43.corners. This is why everybody likes it so much. William Dunlop at
:46:43. > :46:49.the back end of that little group. There is Conor Cummins. On the
:46:49. > :46:57.Superstock bike. I don't think this is going to be a fairy tale 4th win
:46:57. > :47:02.for Michael Dunlop. William Dunlop will be looking to make his name
:47:02. > :47:08.again at the Ulster. He has been in his brother's shadow today and he
:47:08. > :47:13.now has a chance to come out. And take it to the front. Guy Martin
:47:13. > :47:18.leads Keith Amor, Gary Johnson at his third after a rubbish start.
:47:18. > :47:27.probably wishes he had his old bike back because Gary Johnson is
:47:27. > :47:32.working wonders on that machine. Look at that. He is making his
:47:32. > :47:38.stamp on the leaderboard. He flies past, it is all about confidence
:47:38. > :47:43.now. And he really looks the business. This race is shaping up
:47:44. > :47:48.to be the business. Bruce Anstey, we expected him to be leading at
:47:48. > :47:54.this point but it is actually Guy Martin leading this. It is a time
:47:54. > :48:01.trial of course. It is easier to get that here in Dundrod. Guy
:48:01. > :48:09.Martin, that little burst from the back with the Suzuki. It is only a
:48:09. > :48:15.time trial because Bruce Anstey had such a terrible time in qualifying.
:48:16. > :48:18.The lap record is 3.18. That is why Bruce Anstey was back on that
:48:18. > :48:28.second wave and you don't expect anybody to be winning races from
:48:28. > :48:37.there. Remember Bruce Anstey last year? Oh, yes! We said, he won't
:48:37. > :48:46.win. And that was Keith Amor and Gary Johnson. Where is Guy Martin?
:48:46. > :48:55.He is way ahead. There he is. board with William Dunlop. It is
:48:55. > :49:04.spread out now. I notice that the surface flags are being shown. This
:49:04. > :49:09.is a magnificent corner. The camber helps. You can really throw it in.
:49:09. > :49:14.There isn't a corner sure that you would not love to do. Exactly, it
:49:14. > :49:18.might be hairy but very fantastic. Especially on the super bikes. We
:49:18. > :49:23.have seen the so many times before. So heavy on the brakes at the front
:49:23. > :49:29.but the back end goes. They skip around. Guy Martin, still at the
:49:29. > :49:39.front at present. He isn't getting sucked back. Gary Johnson in second
:49:39. > :49:40.
:49:40. > :49:48.place as they just touch. That was so close. On board with Dunlop. The
:49:48. > :49:56.dive down Quarry bends. It did not quite work but the almost touched.
:49:56. > :50:04.This is the view from Cameron Donald, the man in 5th place. Bruce
:50:04. > :50:10.Anstey is certainly not winning at present. Down in 6th place. What
:50:10. > :50:18.happened this time around? The same road, slightly different weather
:50:18. > :50:22.conditions. The weather might have played its part this time. That was
:50:22. > :50:27.a good challenge but it did not quite work and it just allowed
:50:27. > :50:36.William to reel in a little bit. Gary Johnson knows that he has to
:50:36. > :50:44.bring this group closer to Guy Martin. It is TA's Relentless
:50:44. > :50:54.Suzuki, will I finish on a bank? -- will this finish on a bang? With
:50:54. > :50:59.Cameron Donald. William Dunlop had to back off. He was right on the
:50:59. > :51:05.back wheel of Keith Amor. And there goes Martin. Johnson and second,
:51:05. > :51:12.Keith Amor. Again, he is so good, he really likes this run. He
:51:12. > :51:16.carries so much speed. Even more so than his brother, Michael. Look at
:51:16. > :51:23.Keith Amor coming in behind Gary Johnson. He likes the fast corners
:51:23. > :51:28.as well. He loves them here. He is one of the fast ones. Bruce Anstey
:51:28. > :51:33.still there. Not doing what he did first time out. It is all about the
:51:33. > :51:38.man at the front. Guy Martin has pulled away. Guy Martin, it is his
:51:38. > :51:48.race. He is so far ahead of this little bunch. He doesn't want
:51:48. > :51:52.
:51:52. > :52:00.anything to do with this! So close. There is this enormous four-way
:52:00. > :52:10.battle behind him. Just one international road race, he is
:52:10. > :52:15.
:52:15. > :52:21.powering in. That was class. can make see how it Michael just
:52:21. > :52:24.does not have the legs to match these superbikes. And William in
:52:24. > :52:31.second place, doing what you would expect Michael too many have been
:52:31. > :52:36.doing had Kawasaki been there. will finish second at it this that?
:52:36. > :52:46.William? Because he looks so powerful and super-confident. But
:52:46. > :52:47.
:52:47. > :52:50.we're not there yet. Oh! Into the pit in. He left the door open.
:52:50. > :52:56.Keith Amor did not think that Gary Johnson was going to come through
:52:56. > :53:04.there. And Gary Johnson, he would not have thought that. Gary Johnson
:53:04. > :53:14.saw the opportunity. Cameron Donald is now third. Guy Martin is leading.
:53:14. > :53:19.Who is 4th?! It is certainly Honda. But Guy Martin is leading. He isn't
:53:19. > :53:28.taking any chances, he looks so tidy. We don't see much of Guy
:53:28. > :53:35.Martin this time around. Maybe it is deserved. Well! Cameron Donald
:53:35. > :53:40.was there but not any more. certainly had a welcome there.
:53:40. > :53:44.Reminding us of what the Ulster Grand Prix is all about. A lot of
:53:44. > :53:54.people will be pleased if it does go with Guy Martin. Just as many
:53:54. > :53:58.has been served. He takes the victory. That will go on and on in
:53:58. > :54:02.the pubs this evening. Bruce Anstey, just not making the speeds and the
:54:02. > :54:06.Times, the lap times, that he did in the first one. The only
:54:06. > :54:13.difference I can think of is the weather. The surface isn't as quick
:54:13. > :54:20.as it was. And the slipstream in and getting pulled back would have
:54:20. > :54:24.played a part. The other thing is that Guy Martin is in the clear and
:54:24. > :54:30.he is writing a very nice, tidy lap. They might have made some
:54:30. > :54:35.adjustments. But certainly, Guy Martin has not been involved in
:54:35. > :54:44.this scrap for the best part of this race. And I were to, today.
:54:44. > :54:51.Everyone will think that is a proper fairy-tale ending. Dunlop
:54:51. > :54:59.slips back to third place. Here comes Bruce Anstey at the hairpin.
:54:59. > :55:05.A matter what, he will walk away with a win to his name this weekend.
:55:05. > :55:11.Hywel these bikes have behaved in general. We have not seen many go
:55:11. > :55:21.pop. We have seen that in the past. Michael Dunlop had a problem but
:55:21. > :55:25.that's about it. If there is a problem night... Keith Amor.
:55:25. > :55:31.Driving up through Jordan's Cross. You need to leave the corners
:55:31. > :55:39.behind. Keith Amor and Cameron Donald, he wants to stay with his
:55:39. > :55:44.team-mate. Oh! Guy Martin is mixing it with the back markers. He does
:55:44. > :55:48.not need to. Look at the response from the crowd. He is a popular
:55:48. > :55:54.character and also riding for a local team. William Dunlop in
:55:54. > :56:00.second, Keith Amor and third. Cameron Donald in 4th. Your money
:56:00. > :56:04.was on William for a second? Still opportunities. Behind the same man.
:56:04. > :56:14.Keith Amor makes the most of that. William Dunlop is a loser as they
:56:14. > :56:18.
:56:18. > :56:22.go through the Linsey her in. -- hairpin. His team-mate will have
:56:22. > :56:32.his hands over his eyes watching this one. And on his wallet as
:56:32. > :56:33.
:56:33. > :56:38.well! Here comes Guy Martin. He is going to win. Fittingly, the
:56:38. > :56:48.evening sun is shining on the finish line as Guy Martin... At he
:56:48. > :56:48.
:56:48. > :56:52.celebrates. He knows. This, that was a big sigh of relief. I have
:56:52. > :56:59.finally done it! And his name on top of the final leader board of
:56:59. > :57:06.the day. Last race of the day, you saved the best until the end?
:57:06. > :57:10.easy! The conditions were tricky. I was just saying to the boys, that
:57:10. > :57:17.is what suits that bike. In the dry, I thought I was battling for the
:57:17. > :57:20.lead. In the wet, there or that any gizmos on it and I just have to
:57:20. > :57:27.press the brakes and turn the handle bar, my granny could have
:57:27. > :57:33.done that, it is so easy to ride. What about the first international
:57:33. > :57:38.when? Over the moon. Yes! Keeping the boys happy. I hope they will
:57:38. > :57:46.give me a job next year. Would you like to stay? I would, if they
:57:46. > :57:52.would have me! A big smile at the end of the day. We are all happy.
:57:52. > :57:56.Champagne soaking. Guy Martin's victory brings an end to some
:57:56. > :58:00.fabulous racing and the highlight was Michael Dunlop's man of the
:58:00. > :58:03.meeting performance? Without a doubt, for someone who has never
:58:03. > :58:08.won here before, to pick up the triple and one day was outstanding,
:58:08. > :58:11.his brother pushed him hard on two of the stresses and a few English
:58:11. > :58:16.guys pushed him hard but Michael, coming away with man of the meeting
:58:16. > :58:20.and three wins, that was a super day. It is special to see the name
:58:20. > :58:24.Dunlop back on the winner's podium at Dundrod? It has been a few years
:58:24. > :58:29.since there has been a Dunlop winning here and the crowds did
