:00:53. > :00:55.outskirts of how fast is the venue for one of the most exhilarating and

:00:56. > :01:01.exciting motorcycling events on the planet. The Dundrod circuit is loved

:01:02. > :01:06.by the riders and it is a mecca for the fans. This is the Ulster Grand

:01:07. > :01:12.Prix. It is the fastest road race circuit

:01:13. > :01:22.in the world. The fastest road race in the world.

:01:23. > :01:27.What happened there! You have to commit or else you are not going to

:01:28. > :01:38.win. Bruce Anstey!

:01:39. > :01:48.There is just something about it. The speed of the place. Really

:01:49. > :02:05.enjoyed it. There are fast turns, sixth gear.

:02:06. > :02:17.The speed, I love the speed of it. Best road race, it is the scariest.

:02:18. > :02:25.That is the top and bottom of it. Head down, and away. If you do not

:02:26. > :02:34.feel alive around here you will never feel alive.

:02:35. > :02:41.What is going on! The Ulster Grand Prix is the fastest road race in the

:02:42. > :02:47.world. That is why we are here. That is not physically possible! I am

:02:48. > :02:54.Bruce Anstey. I am the fastest road racer in the world. Welcome to one

:02:55. > :02:58.of the oldest and most visited just sporting event in the world. The

:02:59. > :03:02.Ulster Grand Prix. Thousands are here to experience one of the most

:03:03. > :03:06.exciting sporting events you will find anywhere in the world. The

:03:07. > :03:07.rider who holds the record for the number of wind around this unique

:03:08. > :03:11.track is the late world number of wind around this unique

:03:12. > :03:18.Joey Dunlop. And it is his nephew Michael Dunlop who has dominated

:03:19. > :03:26.Rose rating this year. -- road racing.

:03:27. > :03:31.What a win for Michael Dunlop! The year has been good and I am

:03:32. > :03:37.enjoying my racing. After your success this year you would like to

:03:38. > :03:43.finish off the Ulster Grand Prix with another set of good

:03:44. > :03:51.performances? Definitely. I like Dundrod. It is a good spot. How

:03:52. > :03:59.intense is this circuit? It is so quick. The TT, you are doing it on

:04:00. > :04:06.your own. Here there are maybe four or five guys on top of you. And tell

:04:07. > :04:14.us about your experience on four wheels! It was just laid-back. No

:04:15. > :04:23.hassle. I just enjoyed myself. That is the main thing. How much pressure

:04:24. > :04:31.you feel under being the number one road racer in the world at the

:04:32. > :04:38.moment? I do not mind the pressure. I know what I can do. On the day I

:04:39. > :04:43.will be as quick as I want to be. One man who enjoyed watching Michael

:04:44. > :04:53.Dunlop and his sensational season is Philip McCallan. He won five races

:04:54. > :05:02.in a single day. What is the key to this circuit? It is speed,, is need.

:05:03. > :05:07.Just seconds flying down and be reached 200 miles an hour. Then one

:05:08. > :05:26.of the most terrifying corners, the dear sleep. -- Deer's Leap. And then

:05:27. > :05:34.two very important corners. Joey 's Windmill. That is hard on the

:05:35. > :05:41.brakes. Into the hairpin. Then the Quarry bends or you get one last

:05:42. > :05:52.chance before the chequered flag. So apart from Michael Dunlop, who

:05:53. > :06:00.are the main contenders this year? We have Guy Martin who won three

:06:01. > :06:07.races here last year. And he's the fourth most successful writer of the

:06:08. > :06:14.Ulster Grand Prix. He beat veteran Bruce Anstey, the fastest road racer

:06:15. > :06:20.in the world. And we have Lee Johnston who was on the podium

:06:21. > :06:25.earlier in the week. And new kids on the block Dean Harrison, the fastest

:06:26. > :06:33.ever newcomer around the Dundrod circuit. And the Isle of Man rider

:06:34. > :06:40.Dan Neil. Time for the first race of the day. The superstock machine. And

:06:41. > :06:47.Michael Dunlop in pole position. We join our race commentators.

:06:48. > :06:56.Well a lot warmer in here because this is one called great. We thought

:06:57. > :07:04.Michael Dunlop on pole. It is going to get hot on the tracks soon. The

:07:05. > :07:11.fastest newcomer, Peter Hickman. He featured on Sunday. And these guys

:07:12. > :07:17.are going to be worried about their tyres. There is rain in the air and

:07:18. > :07:20.on the track. It is all about the tyres. Waiting for the signal that

:07:21. > :07:31.says go. The flags with the in. tyres. Waiting for the signal that

:07:32. > :07:36.first race of the Ulster Grand Prix gets underway.

:07:37. > :07:49.first race of the Ulster Grand Prix starting in pole position. Here they

:07:50. > :08:00.go. That was a flying start at the front. Guy Martin in the lead. Going

:08:01. > :08:03.down towards Rock Bends. Dean Harrison now established as one of

:08:04. > :08:12.the stars of road racing alongside Guy Martin and Bruce Anstey. Into

:08:13. > :08:19.the right-hand turn. A little bit of overtaking. A little bit from Lee

:08:20. > :08:27.Johnston. A couple of riders having to slam on the anchors all get on

:08:28. > :08:33.the power. It is all fast around this circuit. We are going back to

:08:34. > :08:39.the start with Bruce Anstey as he tries to find his way through the

:08:40. > :08:44.pack. That was close! Dean Harrison just moved over to the right-hand

:08:45. > :08:51.side and sweeps past Guy Martin. What a great start to the Ulster

:08:52. > :08:57.Grand Prix. Guy Martin got off the line best initially. And here comes

:08:58. > :09:05.Dean Harrison just bowling through. Now passing the race leader. A great

:09:06. > :09:12.start from him. There is no one more confident on a motorbike at the

:09:13. > :09:25.moment than Dean Harrison. Bruce Anstey going off the top. We are on

:09:26. > :09:30.board with Peter Hickman. Down towards the right turn. A really

:09:31. > :09:35.tricky corner. Lovely when you get it right. A bit of a breathtaking

:09:36. > :09:40.but then they all are around here. You run up the hill towards the top

:09:41. > :09:50.of the circuit. You need speed going up there or you will be blasted away

:09:51. > :10:05.in the slipstream. Guy Martin under a bit of pressure. Dan got a good

:10:06. > :10:12.start. Now he has got his breath back again and he is leading. On

:10:13. > :10:17.with Lee Johnston. That is what I mean about the slipstream. It is

:10:18. > :10:25.like having another gear. And Lee Johnston has got a problem. It is a

:10:26. > :10:29.shameful Lee Johnston. He moved up one position. And that is how fast

:10:30. > :10:34.it is. If one position. And that is how fast

:10:35. > :10:37.it you are the side of the road. Going up the hill towards the top of

:10:38. > :10:46.the circuit. On-board with Dan Kneen. Almost up into the clouds. It

:10:47. > :10:57.was very wet earlier on on the circuit. Dean Harrison, just

:10:58. > :11:09.cruising. Has he got a problem as well? It may be the weather. I think

:11:10. > :11:16.that is a sensible call. It is miserable. A chance for everyone to

:11:17. > :11:20.make the choice on the tyres that they were agonising on before. What

:11:21. > :11:27.a shame for Dan Kneen to have to start again. But the weather has got

:11:28. > :11:32.the best of everyone here. Back onto the grid. I imagine we will get the

:11:33. > :11:37.declaration of a wet race and the chance to put on whatever tyres you

:11:38. > :11:44.think the circuit is ready for. It has deteriorated whilst they were on

:11:45. > :11:51.the grid. It can change in five minutes. From tropical to Typhoon.

:11:52. > :11:57.You can expect to get four different climates on the circuit. Few people

:11:58. > :12:05.realise how high up the circuit is. It overlooks Belfast. It is quite

:12:06. > :12:10.high up. About 300, 400 feet of elevation change between the bottom

:12:11. > :12:25.of the circuit going up towards the top of Deer's Leap.. They have taken

:12:26. > :12:30.off the clear visor and put on the tinted visor. This is not a day for

:12:31. > :12:37.that. It is a wet race which is not wet. It is up to them to have wet

:12:38. > :12:43.tyres on. Everyone has except Guy Martin and Dan Kneen. Dan Kneen

:12:44. > :12:51.their game. The Guy Martin gets the start he wanted. Here comes Dean

:12:52. > :12:59.Harrison. It is almost a replay. Dan Kneen, no room through here. That is

:13:00. > :13:08.a fine site. They come along past the The Flying Kilo. Lee Johnston.

:13:09. > :13:14.He had to give them. He was on the left-hand side of the road. We are

:13:15. > :13:20.looking at Peter Hickman. Dean Harrison in the lead. This is faster

:13:21. > :13:26.and more confident. Dean Harrison is on intermediate tyres. Him and Guy

:13:27. > :13:29.Martin are the only ones who made that choice. When they get around

:13:30. > :13:34.the corner and start going up the hill, as we restart with Bruce

:13:35. > :13:40.Anstey, that is the same starters we had first time around. It is the

:13:41. > :13:45.same with Dan Kneen and Dean Harrison, the front bikes again.

:13:46. > :13:55.They managed to keep the front wheel somewhere near the ground. This is

:13:56. > :14:01.where the world drops away. Harrison and Dan Kneen side-by-side. Dan

:14:02. > :14:10.Kneen is really challenging. Lee Johnston is in fourth. Bruce Anstey

:14:11. > :14:15.going down towards the fourth hand, under the trees. It started to get

:14:16. > :14:20.wet there before. This is where they had problems. Lee Johnston seems to

:14:21. > :14:36.have a few problems. It is very bumpy. He has gone high apparatus.

:14:37. > :14:43.Guy Martin, they're all queueing up. Dan Kneen, tucked down behind Dean

:14:44. > :14:48.Harrison. It is wet here. Dean Harrison should be much more

:14:49. > :14:54.confident. It does not look atrociously wet. It looks patchy.

:14:55. > :14:59.The camera can be deceiving. Dean Harrison with Dan Kneen behind him.

:15:00. > :15:09.Bruce Anstey trying to join in the fun. This looks wet. You can see a

:15:10. > :15:13.little bit of a rooster's tale. This is very fast, you need to carry this

:15:14. > :15:25.speed. It looks miserable. Fantastic. Right turn. The weather

:15:26. > :15:32.is not much better than it was. We are at Wheeler's Corner. Bruce

:15:33. > :15:37.Anstey is looking forward. He was quick, Bruce Anstey in practice. He

:15:38. > :15:45.was almost a winner in the Dundrod 150 on Thursday. Every time we

:15:46. > :15:50.always sound surprised, but 150 on Thursday. Every time we

:15:51. > :15:58.always seems to manage to pull it off. I think it is because of his

:15:59. > :16:06.can. That was lovely. He slid it can. That was lovely. He slid it

:16:07. > :16:09.through Lindsay Hairpin. I can. That was lovely. He slid it

:16:10. > :16:13.like to say that was planned. Hopefully it was. They are all

:16:14. > :16:19.taking it easy, especially on this Hopefully it was. They are all

:16:20. > :16:27.first lap. Harrison is not taking it easy and neither is Dan Nemo.

:16:28. > :16:37.Harrison is a man on a roll -- Dan on. -- Dan Kneen. He is

:16:38. > :16:42.Harrison is a man on a roll -- Dan to get past Dean Harrison. He has

:16:43. > :16:47.Harrison is a man on a roll -- Dan the inside lane -- line, Dan Kneen

:16:48. > :16:50.should be in the lead. It is all brave around here. We have a

:16:51. > :16:57.breakaway trio, three groups of brave around here. We have a

:16:58. > :17:02.Plenty to keep everyone entertained. This is the three at the front,

:17:03. > :17:12.Plenty to keep everyone entertained. Bruce Anstey, Dean Harrison and Dan

:17:13. > :17:18.Kneen. Dan Kneen has had a remarkable year. He kicked off well

:17:19. > :17:25.at Cookstown. That slipstream helped him so much going up the hill. Lee

:17:26. > :17:31.Johnston is further back, going backwards. He won a race on

:17:32. > :17:39.Thursday. Dan Kneen is not messing about. And again! When he has got

:17:40. > :17:45.the right bike, he is a difficult man to catch. That is the truth

:17:46. > :17:50.right now. Oh my goodness. That was a big moment there on the left-hand

:17:51. > :17:57.side for Dan Kneen. This is the first one. This was the easy one.

:17:58. > :18:05.The front goes light, that is what racers say. Four feet off the

:18:06. > :18:14.ground. Weaving from side to side. Bruce Anstey is well out of that.

:18:15. > :18:17.Dan Kneen goes back. Harrison is back up into first position. Dean

:18:18. > :18:23.Harrison we have been touting as the next big thing and as I said

:18:24. > :18:27.earlier, he has cemented his position. Dan Kneen has come along

:18:28. > :18:32.as the next big thing and ears proving he could be a big thing.

:18:33. > :18:38.Absolutely, Peter Hickman is looking good. I have not seen it like this

:18:39. > :18:44.before. He qualified well, he had the speed and was racing well. He

:18:45. > :18:50.has turned it up another gear. Peter Hickman had a spell on Thursday on

:18:51. > :19:01.this bike and he was OK. The bike was in a bad way. It was in boxes! A

:19:02. > :19:05.remarkable effort to get the bike back out there. Michael Dunlop has

:19:06. > :19:11.been helping out, I believe, with some parts. He does not need any

:19:12. > :19:16.help now. He has the power of the BMW to come in and retake the place.

:19:17. > :19:23.It is still wet out there but try line are appearing. We have got two

:19:24. > :19:28.machines on wet tyres, one on the middle that but in the middle on

:19:29. > :19:35.intermediates. Guy Martin has dropped out of this battle. He has.

:19:36. > :19:48.Dan Kneen has lost the place again. Peter Hickman. He has the straight

:19:49. > :19:54.line speed. 131 mph in the drive. They will not be far off those

:19:55. > :19:58.speeds. Bruce Anstey did 186 mph in practice through the speed trap.

:19:59. > :20:03.speeds. Bruce Anstey did 186 mph in This is a fast race track however

:20:04. > :20:09.you measure it. Here comes Dan Kneen alongside Dean Harrison. Is he close

:20:10. > :20:13.enough? I do not think so. Bruce Anstey still content to hang onto

:20:14. > :20:23.coat-tails of the leading pair. You have to factor the wind. It is not a

:20:24. > :20:24.nice day to go racing. Dan Kneen needs to tap Ken behind Dean

:20:25. > :20:36.Harrison. Bruce Anstey is close needs to tap Ken behind Dean

:20:37. > :20:45.enough now. Two 41. Dan Kneen sucks embark. He was going for both of

:20:46. > :20:58.them -- sucks back. Here we go again. Through Rock Bends. Dean

:20:59. > :21:03.Harrison has risen to the occasion. He can race with anyone and he knows

:21:04. > :21:11.it. Peter Hickman is having a good day. He has a way to go. He passes

:21:12. > :21:22.Lee Johnston on the run out of Leathemstown. These two are bursting

:21:23. > :21:29.with it. Bruce Anstey may have something in the locker. Dan Kneen,

:21:30. > :21:39.that was like the previous lap. It was, back with Peter Hickman. This

:21:40. > :21:42.is coming down Deer's Leap. Fast as Newcomer at the Isle of Man this

:21:43. > :21:50.year, I think it will be the fastest newcomer here as well -- fastest. He

:21:51. > :21:55.is learning his way around Dundrod today. We are back with Dan Kneen.

:21:56. > :22:06.He swaps position with Dean Harrison. Bruce Anstey wants to get

:22:07. > :22:12.past both of them. He must be smiling to himself as he watches

:22:13. > :22:20.this pair and think they are doing the hard work but keeping themselves

:22:21. > :22:25.in range. The slipstream helps. Still a bit damp. Dan Kneen in the

:22:26. > :22:30.lead. Dean Harrison is in second with Bruce Anstey in third. Are they

:22:31. > :22:35.going to trip over each other? Bruce Anstey must be concerned about that.

:22:36. > :22:44.This is the moist part of the circuit. Bruce is not that far

:22:45. > :22:51.away. This is moving quite close for Bruce Anstey going through Wheeler's

:22:52. > :22:57.Corner. That is the scary corner, scarier than Deer's Leap. You never

:22:58. > :23:05.get to take it with the road ahead clear. You can feel the fear. The

:23:06. > :23:10.one thing as well but we are seeing is there are so many overtaking

:23:11. > :23:15.opportunities and right on cue, here it is a there he goes at Lindsay

:23:16. > :23:23.Hairpin. Dean it is a there he goes at Lindsay

:23:24. > :23:27.drive out of there. He really did. Perhaps that is the break he

:23:28. > :23:32.needed. Maybe now he has broken the challenge. Bruce is going to be

:23:33. > :23:37.anxious to get past Dan challenge. Bruce is going to be

:23:38. > :23:41.can. That will bring Dan Kneen back into play. This race is not over.

:23:42. > :23:50.Even though there is three of them, it sometimes seems like there is 30

:23:51. > :23:56.of them. Bruce Anstey seems to be waiting and kill two birds with one

:23:57. > :24:07.stone. Dan Kneen is behind Dean Harrison again. Dan Kneen is

:24:08. > :24:12.fighting. He is all over the racetrack. He is really riding it.

:24:13. > :24:28.For the slipstream to work you have to be tucked in behind on their The

:24:29. > :24:32.Flying Kilo. -- on The Flying Kilo. This is popular with the race fans.

:24:33. > :24:38.This is why they come here every year. Plenty of overtaking. You

:24:39. > :24:43.probably get more overtaking moves in this race than you would in a

:24:44. > :24:49.whole season of Grand Prix racing. Dean Harrison back into the lead.

:24:50. > :24:56.They are racing like 600s, but these are superstar, big motorbikes, they

:24:57. > :25:07.should not be doing this. Dan Kneen keeps doing this -- Superstock.

:25:08. > :25:10.should not be doing this. Dan Kneen has come down to Cochranstown. What

:25:11. > :25:15.a rider Peter Hickman is, what a future star he could be. Coming up,

:25:16. > :25:19.a rider Peter Hickman is, what a inside Guy Martin who has won

:25:20. > :25:22.countless Grand Prix races. Dean Harrison goes up the inside

:25:23. > :25:30.countless Grand Prix races. Dean Kneen. Bruce Anstey sits back.

:25:31. > :25:34.countless Grand Prix races. Dean are onto Ireland's Corner.

:25:35. > :25:41.countless Grand Prix races. Dean to climb up here, it is a steady

:25:42. > :25:46.climb. Talking about steady climbs, it is on to Joey's Windmill. We are

:25:47. > :25:57.way up the hill. it is on to Joey's Windmill. We are

:25:58. > :26:03.Dean Harrison again. Well Dan Kneen be thinking of a plan or is he

:26:04. > :26:15.racing Dean Harrison? -- will Dan Kneen. There are not any plans any

:26:16. > :26:22.more. They have had all those. They have gone through all of them.

:26:23. > :26:30.Whatever that plan was it worked temporarily for Dan Kneen. This is

:26:31. > :26:37.the last chance on the circuit. You need to be close if you want to do

:26:38. > :26:44.something. It is Dan Kneen. Dean Harrison is on the back of him. Is

:26:45. > :26:50.this Bruce Anstey? Will he find a way through? He is not close enough.

:26:51. > :26:54.It is the same as last time around. Dean Harrison up the inside, Dan

:26:55. > :27:00.It is the same as last time around. Kneen has not got far to go. We have

:27:01. > :27:05.seen him do it before. He was close to Dean Harrison coming out of the

:27:06. > :27:17.last corner. He is very close to him now. He tucks in behind Dean

:27:18. > :27:21.Harrison. Dean Harrison in the lead. Dan Kneen close in second place. And

:27:22. > :27:32.on the run towards the chequered flag. Bruce Anstey not close enough

:27:33. > :27:41.to challenge. The flag is waving. Dan Kneen does not even know who was

:27:42. > :27:53.the winner. Have a look at that. Dan Kneen. 1000 of a second.

:27:54. > :28:00.Congratulations. It was a close race. I just got round on the

:28:01. > :28:07.outside. I did not think I was going to win it. There was a lot of

:28:08. > :28:13.passing. The bike worked great. Deer's Leap is one of the scariest

:28:14. > :28:21.corners in road racing. You seem to have mastered. I love that corner. I

:28:22. > :28:32.was sliding a little bit. But it was all under control. Dean, did you

:28:33. > :28:38.think you had it? I did, actually. But that is the way it goes. The

:28:39. > :28:46.pair of you were a hammer and tongs all the way round. It was a good

:28:47. > :28:55.race. 1000 of a second. A great way to start the Ulster Grand Prix. You

:28:56. > :29:03.could not split it! The average age of those two guys is about half of

:29:04. > :29:10.your age. But you stuck it to them. I was just lining up to give it a

:29:11. > :29:15.go. I was happy with that. Superstock is going well. I was in

:29:16. > :29:23.with a chance. We will see in the next race. Good to see a new

:29:24. > :29:30.generation coming through. Yes. Younger and raver! I will give it a

:29:31. > :29:37.good go. -- raver. Dan Kneen on the top step. Along

:29:38. > :29:44.with Dean Harrison and of course Bruce Anstey.

:29:45. > :29:48.Great to see the new generation of young road racers coming to the

:29:49. > :29:54.fore. A truly international field to this event this year. With riders

:29:55. > :29:56.here from 15 different countries including newcomers trying the

:29:57. > :30:02.Dundrod circuit for the first time. One of those riders is trying to set

:30:03. > :30:06.a record of her own. Patricia Fernandes wants to be the fastest

:30:07. > :30:16.ever female around the fastest circuit in the world.

:30:17. > :30:25.It is a bit overwhelming as a newcomer when you're used to short

:30:26. > :30:31.circuits. You have to learn. I had seven .5 miles. It is really

:30:32. > :30:36.exciting. It is intense. The target is to be the fastest ever female

:30:37. > :30:47.rider around this circuit. Can you achieve that? I think so. I have

:30:48. > :30:53.done my research. I get faster every lap. It would be amazing to brake

:30:54. > :30:59.the record. I do not want to talk too much, let us see what happens.

:31:00. > :31:07.But it would be amazing. The fans here, it is like a big family. It is

:31:08. > :31:20.huge. It is an -- it is in the blood of everyone here in Ireland. I'm

:31:21. > :31:25.here in my first road race. There is always some thrilling action around

:31:26. > :31:29.this circuit. Some rain starting so this will also be a wet race. In

:31:30. > :31:39.pole position is Lee Johnston from Co Fermanagh. He had victory at the

:31:40. > :31:58.North West 200 earlier this year. Well we have just seen a Supersport

:31:59. > :32:04.race. Ian Hutchinson has fallen off again. He has got bruises all over

:32:05. > :32:09.his arms and shoulders. I do not think you will see him in top form.

:32:10. > :32:14.But Lee Johnston is very much in top form. Keith Amor rimming with

:32:15. > :32:23.confidence on his return to racing this year. Getting ready for the

:32:24. > :32:31.sign that says watch the lights. And there it is. Away they go. Who is

:32:32. > :32:37.the man with a good start? That was William Dunlop. We are on board with

:32:38. > :32:46.Lee Johnston looking back at the pack. This is the view from Keith

:32:47. > :33:01.Amor. This is a proper 600 race. All crowded onto the road. The second of

:33:02. > :33:06.three waves leaving the line. Another wave still 30 seconds

:33:07. > :33:12.behind. We go back on board with Keith Amor. And William Dunlop

:33:13. > :33:22.looking very confident. That was very close. Looking back at Guy

:33:23. > :33:35.Martin in third position. Bruce Anstey coming through as well. Tying

:33:36. > :33:39.up to Lee Johnston. Here goes loose out of the slipstream and down the

:33:40. > :33:44.hill. A few other people doing the same thing behind him. Lee Johnston

:33:45. > :33:51.has slipped back to fourth position. Back to fifth.

:33:52. > :33:56.has slipped back to fourth position. Harrison. Dean Harrison on form

:33:57. > :34:01.whatever the size of the motorcycle he is riding. And Bruce has

:34:02. > :34:04.whatever the size of the motorcycle of this before. Dean Harrison is a

:34:05. > :34:18.really versatile rider. of this before. Dean Harrison is a

:34:19. > :34:26.gravel. Bikes everywhere. Must be a red flag. Hard to see who

:34:27. > :34:32.gravel. Bikes everywhere. Must be a gone down. I think it is Keith Amor

:34:33. > :34:41.as well. Three bikes on the ground. Lee Johnston not one of them. There

:34:42. > :34:51.we go, red flag. William Dunlop gets through safely. You can hear it

:34:52. > :34:59.happening. It is Dean Harrison, Keith Amor and Dan Kneen running

:35:00. > :35:11.into each other. This is the on-board fuel with Keith Amor. --

:35:12. > :35:19.view. He saw what was happening and bailed out immediately. Did Dan

:35:20. > :35:26.Kneen run over Keith Amor? I think that might have happened. You can

:35:27. > :35:36.see how wet it is. It was a wet race. Full on the throttle. Lee

:35:37. > :35:45.Johnston looking back at it. Keith Amor definitely jumped off. I think

:35:46. > :35:55.Dean Harrison, his front just tapped. You cannot save the front

:35:56. > :35:59.wheel. He thought the man in front was just going to lose the back end.

:36:00. > :36:10.He tried to get out of it but he could not. Dan Kneen and Keith Amor

:36:11. > :36:20.came together as well. No answer for the front going down. Could not get

:36:21. > :36:29.that turned around. I was so close to hitting him.

:36:30. > :36:37.Well unfortunately that race was brought to a premature halt. The

:36:38. > :36:40.three riders involved have all been taken to hospital to have their

:36:41. > :36:43.injuries assessed. At the moment none of those injuries are thought

:36:44. > :36:52.to be life-threatening. The organisers have postponed the 600

:36:53. > :37:01.race until later on. Next up we have the right weight and ultra light

:37:02. > :37:11.weights. James Cowton is the man of the moment. Northern Ireland is such

:37:12. > :37:21.a hot bed of 2/ racing. It rose through the blood here. James Cowton

:37:22. > :37:30.on number nine, streaking into the lead. Pretty much according to the

:37:31. > :37:46.form book. Ian Morrell there as well. Ian Morrell looks to move up.

:37:47. > :38:03.Christian Elkin on 25. Sam Dunlop on 17. We are looking at the front of

:38:04. > :38:18.the 250 race. James Cowton has made the brake. 250 seizing up is not a

:38:19. > :38:32.surprise. James Cowton over the line with a massive lead. But there is a

:38:33. > :38:41.massive scrap. Daley Mathison, a quality rider as well. Does he have

:38:42. > :38:51.the drop on him? That was a good launch out of the hairpin from

:38:52. > :38:57.Christian Elkin. The almost inevitable chequered

:38:58. > :39:08.flag. Christian Elkin still second. A scrap to the line. It is going to

:39:09. > :39:17.be Daley Mathison. Christian Elkin drawing in.

:39:18. > :39:27.Across the line they go. Daley Mathison takes it from Christian

:39:28. > :39:42.Elkin. Daley Mathison in the ultra light weight race.

:39:43. > :39:50.Unstoppable today and Thursday. Ian Morrell in third place.

:39:51. > :39:56.Congratulations, James. You looked as if you did not even brake a

:39:57. > :40:13.sweat. I just maintained it, really. And it worked. I am happy.

:40:14. > :40:22.The bike brought me home well. Quite a ride and quite a win.

:40:23. > :40:29.It was running fantastic. I could not fault them. He had the upper

:40:30. > :40:35.hand on a couple of the backmarkers. I just had to keep going until the

:40:36. > :40:40.end. And see where we were on the last lap.

:40:41. > :40:47.One man who would have enjoyed those performances thoroughly was Ralph

:40:48. > :40:52.Fiennes. Northern Ireland's a first motorcycling world champion. Aged

:40:53. > :40:55.72, sadly he passed away recently but he is fondly remembered by

:40:56. > :41:03.everyone here. Tributes have been flooding in for our Grand Prix

:41:04. > :41:09.champion from 1965. No one really realises just how good

:41:10. > :41:26.he was. To win the world championship for Honda in 1965, he

:41:27. > :41:28.was just at his best. He was one of the best riders I have ever seen. I

:41:29. > :41:33.was the best riders I have ever seen. I

:41:34. > :41:34.remember him here where he had a lot of success.

:41:35. > :41:42.remember him here where he had a lot in Dundrod. If we win races

:41:43. > :41:45.remember him here where he had a lot dedicate them to him, in my head.

:41:46. > :41:58.Super, and a good friend. I will never forget him. Well, let us see

:41:59. > :42:04.if one of Hector Neal's team can give him something to celebrate in

:42:05. > :42:10.this, the restarted Supersport race. It restarts with a depleted grid

:42:11. > :42:16.because although those names are there, Dean Harrison and keep a

:42:17. > :42:34.mower and Dan Kneen have all been taken to hospital. -- Keith Amor. No

:42:35. > :42:40.one seriously hurt. We all get ready to go again. A second chance for a

:42:41. > :42:49.Lee Johnston. William Dunlop or was so fast, he is again, there is Lee

:42:50. > :42:53.Johnston. He is tucked in behind William Dunlop, Lee Johnston. Write

:42:54. > :42:59.down behind the bubble and it is still that number six bike who

:43:00. > :43:06.leads. Lee Johnston in second place. They are all close together. William

:43:07. > :43:11.Dunlop, absolutely storming away. Lee Johnston behind Guy Martin,

:43:12. > :43:16.there is Michael Dunlop. Where have we seen him today? He had a problem

:43:17. > :43:23.with his visor in the Superstock race. They could not change it.

:43:24. > :43:28.with his visor in the Superstock raced in the dark! Looks like game

:43:29. > :43:31.-- Guy Martin, maybe not, Bruce Anstey is there. Down towards Deer's

:43:32. > :43:40.Leap. We are not used to Anstey is there. Down towards Deer's

:43:41. > :43:46.big gaps in this race. Guy Martin getting a bit of pressure from Bruce

:43:47. > :43:53.Anstey. William Dunlop is leading and leading by some distance.

:43:54. > :43:59.William Dunlop has not really had with Tyco Suzuki that he was hoping

:44:00. > :44:03.for. As the season is trying to a close, this represents a last big

:44:04. > :44:11.chance for him to show what he can do. A chance for him to stand on the

:44:12. > :44:16.podium with Tyco Suzuki. The end team are capable of winning at these

:44:17. > :44:23.races. They do not be able to be seen to put it together. It is

:44:24. > :44:27.circumstances with injuries. Lee Johnston is about to lose second

:44:28. > :44:36.place. There goes Guy Martin. Bruce Anstey will want to get through.

:44:37. > :44:43.That was it, he is past. Can they catch William Dunlop? Was Lee

:44:44. > :44:53.Johnston a bit too slow? It is a quick circuit. The fastest in the

:44:54. > :45:00.world. Speed, speed and speed. Still looking a little bit patchy on the

:45:01. > :45:04.higher part of the circuit. You can see them drawing up in the

:45:05. > :45:12.slipstream and that was Bruce on the brakes. He is good on the brakes,

:45:13. > :45:18.some very uncertain surface. It changed big-time, went from wet to

:45:19. > :45:24.dry. Lee Johnston back in fourth place. He will try and close up on

:45:25. > :45:31.the slower part of the track. It is still rapid as they go in towards

:45:32. > :45:36.the Lindsay Hairpin. That is more like it, four bikes together.

:45:37. > :45:42.William Dunlop must be thinking he has this made. He is about five

:45:43. > :45:49.seconds in front. Seen at so many times, the guy leading on the front

:45:50. > :45:53.does not necessarily go on to win at the Ulster Grand Prix no matter how

:45:54. > :46:01.big a gap. They often seem to get drawn black -- back. This could be

:46:02. > :46:08.one of them were the slipstream is at work. Bruce is on fire! He is in

:46:09. > :46:14.behind Guy Martin. Not taking an opportunity. Here they go across the

:46:15. > :46:20.line, it is William Dunlop. It must be three seconds from Guy Martin.

:46:21. > :46:28.Here comes Bruce. Bruce is tucked in behind Guy Martin. It is whether he

:46:29. > :46:33.can hit back going into Rock Bends. Dunlop has a lovely lady. Bruce

:46:34. > :46:42.Anstey has got away from Guy Martin -- lead. It looks like he could make

:46:43. > :46:47.a break for it. Bruce Anstey is leaving them. There is Dunlop in

:46:48. > :46:56.front. They are going into Leathemstown. Bruce is so quick. He

:46:57. > :47:00.finds a little ounce or two of speed in the bike carries him forward.

:47:01. > :47:06.When you look over your shoulder and you see it is Bruce, it is never

:47:07. > :47:17.only Bruce it is Bruce, look out. They are all stretched out. William

:47:18. > :47:24.Dunlop is sublime. He is quick. Nobody is slow here. As you come out

:47:25. > :47:30.of that turn, you flick to the right and come down Deer's Leap, it is

:47:31. > :47:35.blind going in there. It is commitment, you are on your side,

:47:36. > :47:40.doing up to 180 mph and you have to commit to it before you get there.

:47:41. > :47:51.You have to know what you are doing. William Dunlop, Bruce Anstey trying

:47:52. > :47:55.to break from the pack. I wonder if Bruce Anstey is not being fought

:47:56. > :48:01.again. This is where Lee Johnston lost positions before. This is where

:48:02. > :48:11.he lost possession. Michael Dunlop might fancy his chances. Just see

:48:12. > :48:16.the reflection of the bike in the visor. Fascinating. A little bit of

:48:17. > :48:23.slipstream at work for everyone. There is quite a gap. Big gaps at

:48:24. > :48:25.the moment. The slipstream will not work quite well as they go through

:48:26. > :48:45.at 38. -- Jordan's Cross. Looking like getting the locals on

:48:46. > :48:55.your side, they name it after the locals. So then, coming down towards

:48:56. > :49:03.Lindsay Hairpin. He is not getting away. Guy Martin might be a little

:49:04. > :49:08.bit closer. On the brakes for Lindsay Hairpin. We have lost

:49:09. > :49:17.Michael Dunlop. He has disappeared. Oh, there he is. He has looked back

:49:18. > :49:22.and saw he was not being caught. Lee Johnston there. Save where he is for

:49:23. > :49:31.the moment. Is Bruce Anstey safe from Guy Martin? -- safe. He so

:49:32. > :49:47.wants to win something that is not a super twin. -- Supertwin. Guy Martin

:49:48. > :49:53.knows what it takes to win at the Ulster Grand Prix. Lee Johnston is

:49:54. > :50:00.in third place. He is in behind Guy Martin. They are going down towards

:50:01. > :50:05.The Flying Kilo. Here we go up the inside. Lee Johnston and he should

:50:06. > :50:11.get him. He does not. There was not enough of a toll. It looks to me as

:50:12. > :50:18.though that bike is a little bit down on power. Certainly compared to

:50:19. > :50:21.Guy Martin. That is all it takes. Just a little tiny difference and

:50:22. > :50:27.the slipstream brings you there but does not get you past. Guy Martin

:50:28. > :50:42.made it difficult for him. Guy Martin with Lee Johnston. Will he be

:50:43. > :50:47.fast enough? If they go right at the top, Lee Johnston will have track

:50:48. > :50:54.position. Down Deer's Leap, they will go. Lee Johnston in third

:50:55. > :51:01.place. Guy Martin can hit back. Tyco Suzuki, lots of power, the 600 is a

:51:02. > :51:06.good bike. Do not forget that William Dunlop is leading also on

:51:07. > :51:13.Tyco Suzuki. Two of the riders at the top three. Lee Johnston is

:51:14. > :51:18.trying to change that. No one has seen William Dunlop for a while. He

:51:19. > :51:25.had cleared off at the front. A perfect start. A perfect race for

:51:26. > :51:28.him. Bruce Anstey is not catching him and these two behind him have

:51:29. > :51:45.occupied themselves and failed to come up on Bruce Anstey. They are

:51:46. > :51:48.wasting time with each other. Lee Johnston was thinking about that and

:51:49. > :51:56.he has bullied his way through the hairpin. A classic move. He was

:51:57. > :52:01.gaining on Guy Martin. That was a really good move. He will be

:52:02. > :52:12.smiling. I do not think Guy Martin will be! He could not get the drive

:52:13. > :52:19.out of it. Bruce Anstey, where has he come from? He is behind William

:52:20. > :52:21.Dunlop. Unbelievable! Bruce Anstey is in second place and closing in.

:52:22. > :52:26.One more lap to go. Bruce Anstey was is in second place and closing in.

:52:27. > :52:30.using that time wisely. I could not believe how close he was in the last

:52:31. > :52:35.third of that lap. Now, he believe how close he was in the last

:52:36. > :52:40.challenging for the lead and going through. Bruce Anstey! New race

:52:41. > :52:46.leader on the final lap of the Supersport race. He is ahead of

:52:47. > :52:48.William Dunlop. William Dunlop will not be happy. He will not believe

:52:49. > :52:51.what has happened. not be happy. He will not believe

:52:52. > :52:57.his race all the way and Bruce Anstey has come from nowhere. They

:52:58. > :53:05.come around Leathemstown. Bruce Anstey is leading. The crowd will be

:53:06. > :53:10.wondering what has happened. How did that happen? Perhaps something has

:53:11. > :53:16.happened to William, perhaps he missed a gear or had a little wobble

:53:17. > :53:36.on a corner. That allowed Bruce to read him in. That is Patricia

:53:37. > :53:43.Fernando 's. -- Fernandez. When you have back corner nails, it is

:53:44. > :53:52.breathtaking. -- that corner are nailed. William Dunlop has had a

:53:53. > :53:57.scare from Bruce Anstey and he will be going all out to make sure it

:53:58. > :54:01.does not happen again. He has made the break again, I am sure that

:54:02. > :54:07.William Dunlop has had an issue and got over it and whenever it was, he

:54:08. > :54:12.has put it behind him. He has got back! William Dunlop's machine has

:54:13. > :54:20.exploded underneath them. As they come up to Wheeler's Corner he

:54:21. > :54:27.retires from the lead. What a stunning development! Lee Johnston

:54:28. > :54:31.saw that. I cannot believe the amount of misfortune William Dunlop

:54:32. > :54:37.has suffered with the Tyco Suzuki outfit this year. They do not seem

:54:38. > :54:41.to get any luck. Two or three miles from a chequered flag and pop! Now

:54:42. > :54:46.we know why Bruce was able to read him in, he obviously had an issue.

:54:47. > :54:51.He tried to ride through it and could not. Bruce Anstey is in the

:54:52. > :54:56.clear and on his way to another international race victory. He never

:54:57. > :55:00.misses a podium at international road racing events and very seldom

:55:01. > :55:04.misses at least one chequered flag and here it comes, Bruce Anstey over

:55:05. > :55:07.the line, cannot believe that happened. He obviously considered

:55:08. > :55:15.that raise over and done with, but no. This is how it looks, great

:55:16. > :55:24.fourth place for a Ivan Lintin. Guy Martin and third, Lee Johnston

:55:25. > :55:31.second, Bruce Anstey is the winner. I went past. I could not see a

:55:32. > :55:42.thing. Congratulations, that was a dramatic race. It was. I got past

:55:43. > :55:48.him. I got a bit of a break. I worked and caught him. Past him a

:55:49. > :55:56.few times. At the last lap, I was going to give him a good go, but I

:55:57. > :56:02.knew I had him on the hairpin. What did you think when you saw his bike

:56:03. > :56:07.go up in smoke? Could you see? I could not. I went past him and

:56:08. > :56:11.decided to wipe my visor. I could not see anything and I had to slow

:56:12. > :56:16.down to see where I was going. It was going to be a battle all the way

:56:17. > :56:21.to the end, but it was a pity about his engine. Congratulations, did you

:56:22. > :56:31.see William Dunlop's bike blow-up? Yes. There was a big cloud of smoke.

:56:32. > :56:41.Once Bruce got past Guy Martin I got held up. He was flying. Maybe the

:56:42. > :56:47.next one. Guy Martin, podium for you, but you are here for wins? I

:56:48. > :56:53.enjoyed the race. Tricky conditions. Bruce got past me and I thought I

:56:54. > :57:04.would stick with him. Then Lee Johnston got past and I lost my

:57:05. > :57:10.momentum. There we go, Guy Martin, Lee Johnston and Bruce Anstey on the

:57:11. > :57:15.top step of the podium at Dundrod. The Ulster Grand Prix certainly

:57:16. > :57:19.living up to its top billing so far and what a sensational performance

:57:20. > :57:26.by Bruce Anstey. He came alive even more, he is only a few years younger

:57:27. > :57:31.than me. He had stiff opposition in the Supersport race. Bruce won it.

:57:32. > :57:37.He is the veteran, but what about the young guns? Great to see new

:57:38. > :57:43.faces. Dan Kneen picks up his first into national when and James Cowton

:57:44. > :57:47.picks up another win in the Lightweight, it is amazing and great

:57:48. > :57:50.to see new faces. It has been fantastic so far and we have another

:57:51. > :57:56.are long highlights programme tomorrow night at the same time on

:57:57. > :59:00.BBC1. We will see you then. For now, goodbye.
