:01:53. > :01:56.programme from this year's Boxall International Northwest to Hundred.

:01:57. > :02:03.Here is what is coming up tonight. Lots more high-speed action in the

:02:04. > :02:13.Superbike class. And also the Supertwins. We catch up with a

:02:14. > :02:20.former world champion, returning to the scene of his north-west victory.

:02:21. > :02:21.And road racing legend John McGuinness picks up one of

:02:22. > :02:36.motorsport's highest honours. So far we have had some breathtaking

:02:37. > :03:04.racing. Records broken, at the Northwest.

:03:05. > :03:51.This specially designed helmet belonging to Alistair Seeley, in

:03:52. > :03:55.pole position for the Superbikes. Is he the favourite? We have to say his

:03:56. > :03:59.favourite, he's now the biggest winner at the Northwest 200, but

:04:00. > :04:05.this is the daddy, the big race of the day, Superbikes, the ultimate

:04:06. > :04:10.bike that you can ride. The wind is behind them, speeds of at least 205

:04:11. > :04:16.miles an hour wind towards Coleraine. One man who wants this is

:04:17. > :04:20.Michael Dunlop, showing form in the last Superstock race, he will be

:04:21. > :04:29.forced to be reckoned with. We cannot wait.

:07:45. > :07:52.right in the mix, going for the corner. After all we said about this

:07:53. > :07:56.man taking it easy! He was not. Alistair Seeley, you can see from

:07:57. > :08:01.the helicopter, how far back he was. The Honda is singing. Gone through

:08:02. > :08:07.this speed trap at 209 miles an hour. That is the fastest we have

:08:08. > :08:13.ever seen. That was Bruce Anstey. This man at the front, Ian

:08:14. > :08:16.Hutchinson. Making his way to the front. I am not looking, I would

:08:17. > :08:26.prefer to be down here. This is much safer. Those boys are on it at the

:08:27. > :08:30.front. It has been a long time since we had a dry, sunny track to raise

:08:31. > :08:37.Superbikes on the Northwest 200. They are enjoying this outing. Gary

:08:38. > :08:39.Johnson, in second place, done a good job to get up to there. The

:08:40. > :08:49.number seven bike. Still close together as they go down

:08:50. > :08:54.towards the Metropole. Hopping in and out of the slipstream. I cannot

:08:55. > :09:03.imagine how Bruce Anstey got there. He passed about six people. Here he

:09:04. > :09:05.is again, Michael Dunlop. He has gone, no comment he hasn't,

:09:06. > :09:20.stillbirth. Dunlop easing him out. Through church corner, 210 miles an

:09:21. > :09:25.hour. We thought maybe it was a mistake, but there is no mistake

:09:26. > :09:28.today. We saw how far Bruce Anstey was and how fast he was. Some

:09:29. > :09:36.problems in qualifying but buying on it. Ever since he arrived, he has

:09:37. > :09:39.always had a podium. Riding for one now and they are racing over the

:09:40. > :09:45.coast road. This is, shoulder to shoulder. That is really close,

:09:46. > :09:53.Hutchinson leading, he would like to make it more than one win.

:09:54. > :10:02.Clive Paget is not going to believe that. Coming through in second,

:12:37. > :12:45.keep it competitive. They are closed up. Bruce Anstey, you wouldn't

:12:46. > :12:52.believe he is 46. His beard is 46! It is, it is a link him down. If

:12:53. > :13:00.they chop the bottom off, it would be 210. Here he comes, a combination

:13:01. > :13:02.of power. On the outside, surely. But Julie touching. They have

:13:03. > :13:16.touched. I think he came close. He lost a lot of time. He did not

:13:17. > :13:21.get back through those years. Running out of road. He tried to

:13:22. > :13:28.come out of the chicane I think in third gear. Down towards Metropole,

:13:29. > :13:32.three white. Lee Johnston, Michael Dunlop looking to get back in that

:13:33. > :13:38.position but not happening. And through the go, Hutchinson in the

:13:39. > :13:45.lead. Into Church Corner. It could be anyone these seven riders. Wake

:13:46. > :13:53.up the hill, on board with Bruce Anstey as he goes on the bridge. The

:13:54. > :14:00.bikes working so hard. 225 brake horsepower. Not much faster than

:14:01. > :14:07.Superstock at 210 is just ridiculous. That was a nice move

:14:08. > :14:13.from Bruce Anstey. Here they are spreading out. What else helped a

:14:14. > :14:20.great deal, racing Bruce showed up and we have not seen him all week.

:14:21. > :14:27.My goodness, he got that badly wrong. Rather than go up the slip

:14:28. > :14:33.road, it is easy to do that but you lose more time. A bit of grass

:14:34. > :14:38.tracking. On board with racing Bruce. As we go through the end of

:14:39. > :14:43.this lap and dark out onto the circuit. Hutchinson just in front.

:14:44. > :14:49.Michael Dunlop and Lee Johnston put up for me they were the favourite

:14:50. > :14:54.for this race. They are the main protagonists. At the start of the

:14:55. > :14:58.week I had no idea where to put my money down but Thursday morning I

:14:59. > :15:04.remember saying I would put all my money on Michael Dunlop. I'm still

:15:05. > :15:09.convinced this is his best chance of winning here. I think it is a

:15:10. > :15:19.rehearsal for the second Superbike race later on, the North West 200.

:15:20. > :15:27.Moved up into 14th now, making up the time. But will never catch these

:15:28. > :15:33.guys. You could get up into the top ten, Hutchinson again, he had

:15:34. > :15:38.gearbox problems for the top he said he could not get second year.

:15:39. > :15:44.Luckily no one went into the back of him. If the bike in front of you

:15:45. > :15:52.does not grab appear it is so easy to just ram them. We have seen this

:15:53. > :15:58.before, Michael Dunlop going straight past. The Hawk BMW really

:15:59. > :16:04.has got some horsepower. Here comes Bruce Anstey. Riding with him again,

:16:05. > :16:09.he pulled out the slipstream, it did not quite work. Hutchinson back in

:16:10. > :16:17.front weaving through. And it is Michael Rutter. Just swapping

:16:18. > :16:23.positions as if it is just a little traffic jam. Hickman coming back

:16:24. > :16:29.into contention as well. Over the link road we go, a very popular

:16:30. > :16:37.leader at the front of the pack. Michael Dunlop heads Hutchinson,

:16:38. > :16:53.Bruce Anstey and Michael Rutter. Then a couple of Honda bikes. John

:16:54. > :16:58.McGuinness and Cummins. They're doing it again, they just get on

:16:59. > :17:03.these big bikes and treat them as if they are small toys but they really

:17:04. > :17:09.are not. There is Michael Rutter, whose Anstey making up that time

:17:10. > :17:18.that he lost. He has got himself back together and I think

:17:19. > :17:27.Hutchinson, he may continue to miss those gears. The bike is in a huge

:17:28. > :17:31.knot, keeping the throttle and the whole time. We will see if he can

:17:32. > :17:38.get down through the gears this time. I think he will do. He has got

:17:39. > :17:46.it sorted out this time. There is the number three, Hawk BMW, chased

:17:47. > :17:58.by the Honda. Supposedly long in the tooth. Michael Dunlop, his advantage

:17:59. > :18:03.as they turn in, first and second place, over the white lines and on

:18:04. > :18:07.the gas. The crowd just enjoying this terrific race, loving the fact

:18:08. > :18:11.that Michael Dunlop is in front. They're all cheering and waving as

:18:12. > :18:15.Michael Dunlop pulls into the lead. Not over yet but Michael Dunlop

:18:16. > :18:25.thinks it might be, beginning to pull away. Beginning to ease away.

:18:26. > :18:28.Bruce clinging on to stop of the two I think the Honda is the faster, it

:18:29. > :18:38.sounds ridiculous as it is quite an old motorcycle but Clive Paget keeps

:18:39. > :18:42.working away on it. The Honda can be as fast as anything else out there

:18:43. > :18:45.and it is proving it. Ian Hutchinson in third place at the moment,

:18:46. > :18:54.Michael Rutter has not given up hope either. John McGuinness, right with

:18:55. > :19:01.these guys. It bodes well for him for the TT. Hanging in there quite

:19:02. > :19:04.comfortably. Some teams have different objectives and John

:19:05. > :19:10.McGuinness might be happy to see how easy it is to stay with this bunch

:19:11. > :19:13.as the go round. But Michael Dunlop, he only has one objective and that

:19:14. > :19:18.is the chequered flag at the end of the race. Of course the tyres will

:19:19. > :19:25.come into it. Hutchinson has a bit of a moment there, they will not be

:19:26. > :19:31.as good at the end of seven laps. These have a much harder compound in

:19:32. > :19:37.the middle of the tire. They have got to be quite a hard compound and

:19:38. > :19:44.stiffness in the centre to cope with that power. 225 brake horsepower

:19:45. > :19:51.reinforced through the air, it puts so much heat into the tyres. Bruce

:19:52. > :19:54.Anstey and Michael Dunlop easing away as they go around the

:19:55. > :20:02.roundabout. And the gap opens up again as they go on the throttle.

:20:33. > :20:38.clearing off. It looks that way. Nice and steady into the Mather's

:20:51. > :20:54.split from the other group. It is not a breakaway group any more. A

:20:55. > :21:01.breakaway leader. I think the rest just beginning to really in third

:21:02. > :21:07.place. It looks like Michael Rutter. It is Michael Rutter, number eight

:21:08. > :21:13.going in there. There are close behind him. Still so close. And the

:21:14. > :21:24.race has been going on for a while. They have not opened up. Here is

:21:25. > :21:34.Bruce. Doing everything, really animated. That was animated!

:21:35. > :21:37.Hutchinson and Michael Rutter. And here is the number three, Dunlop,

:21:38. > :21:45.just slams that down into the corner. Bruce Anstey has gone down.

:21:46. > :21:52.He was on wide line. That is Church Corner. The Paget Honda is down.

:21:53. > :21:58.Bruce having a word with himself I think upfront. I suspect he is, I

:21:59. > :22:03.think that he missed the apex. He should've taken the road. That

:22:04. > :22:08.really will open things up. Change things enormously for Michael

:22:09. > :22:13.Dunlop, on the road by himself. Hutchinson in second and then

:22:14. > :22:19.Michael Rutter and Peter Hickman. Bruce Anstey hopefully we'll be fine

:22:20. > :22:25.after that. He went into those big foam cushions that absorb the

:22:26. > :22:31.impact. But he just missed the apex. We will ride on board with him on

:22:32. > :22:42.the replay. Squeezing those breaks, he goes in pretty hard. That would

:22:43. > :22:45.be a second gear corner. He tried to get it around and it is not happen.

:22:46. > :22:51.This is a battle between Michael Rutter and Peter Hickman. I wonder

:22:52. > :22:55.if they will carry on, there could be some debris on the track. We will

:23:52. > :23:58.a lot of changes to make up the boys worked all day after 30 practice.

:23:59. > :24:03.Just nice to win the big bike race. That is the way it goes. To win the

:24:04. > :24:08.Superbike is class. What does it mean to you here flying the flag for

:24:09. > :24:12.the Dunlop family, we know Alistair Seeley has already taken the record

:24:13. > :24:20.from your dad but for you important to put your name up in lights again?

:25:25. > :25:28.year is the former world Superbike star Carl Fogarty. Well-known to

:25:29. > :25:31.many of course for his exploits in the television series I'm a

:25:32. > :25:36.celebrity get me out of here. The king of the jungle is fondly

:25:37. > :25:40.remembered in Northern Ireland for his North West 200 win back in 1993.

:25:41. > :25:50.Gavin Andrews spent the day with him.

:25:51. > :25:56.I have sunshine wherever I go! Ids the moment when you miss the

:25:57. > :26:00.bus? On a day like today, a circuit like this, I used to love racing

:26:01. > :26:06.here especially in this kind of weather. I feel nervous for these

:26:07. > :26:10.guys. How will they be feeling now? Like anything else, you just want

:26:11. > :26:16.the flag to drop and get on with it. It is just the hanging round, that

:26:17. > :26:20.is the worst bit. You just want to get going and do the best you can.

:26:21. > :26:26.How would you fancy going round on some of this new machinery? I would

:26:27. > :26:33.love it. Not sure about 600, but I would love it. Tell us about 1993,

:26:34. > :26:38.when it all came together? Just relief more than anything. Try to

:26:39. > :26:47.win the race a few years before that, on the Honda in 1991 and 1992.

:26:48. > :26:52.But we had reliability bottoms with the Honda. So it was more belief

:26:53. > :26:57.than anything to finally crossed the line and win the first race. I had

:26:58. > :27:03.been trying for so many years, it was a relief to finally win. Still a

:27:04. > :27:09.welcome return to the Northwest for Carl Fogarty one of the most

:27:10. > :27:15.decorated riders in motorcycling. Another one is John McGuinness, who

:27:16. > :27:21.recently was presented with one of the most prestigious awards in

:27:22. > :27:26.motorsport. It feels really cool, really special. It is hard to put

:27:27. > :27:35.into words. I have been racing a long time, 26 seasons. Never thought

:27:36. > :27:43.I would be sat in that group. With Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, Stirling

:27:44. > :28:01.Moss. All behind us on the wall. We are in good company! We are here.

:28:02. > :28:08.I'm really touched by it. Really pleased that they recognised what I

:28:09. > :28:14.have achieved. I have put my heart and soul into it for years and nice

:28:15. > :28:18.to get the reward back. A gigantic tribute to extremely nice person. As

:28:19. > :28:25.a genuine person, very friendly person. Above all, a brilliantly

:28:26. > :28:26.talented rider. He rides not just with his body and reflexes but most

:28:27. > :28:42.importantly with his head. Everybody is a road race fan, I

:28:43. > :28:50.think. I think they just don't know it yet.

:28:51. > :28:59.The next race is for the Supertwins. The first race in this class was of

:29:00. > :29:05.course red flagged because of an accident involving Darren Cooper and

:29:06. > :29:09.Ryan Farquhar. Both were taken to hospital, Cooper released, Ryan

:29:10. > :29:15.Farquhar was airlifted to Belfast and underwent surgery. Cause the

:29:16. > :29:25.news from the hospital is more positive his team decided to race on

:29:26. > :29:28.today. We are doing this for Ryan, I hope he was racing, but it's what he

:29:29. > :29:35.would have wanted, we took a decision, in light of his recovery

:29:36. > :29:40.is coming along... Philip Jeromy is a former winner of this race, he

:29:41. > :29:45.must we one of the favourites. He is but he has three good guys in front

:29:46. > :29:50.of him. Ivan Lewis ten, previous winner, Martin Jessop who wants his

:29:51. > :29:54.first win. Peter Hickman who has been on the roster already and

:29:55. > :30:02.behind Tim Newcomer, malachite Mitchell Thomas who wants a rostrum

:30:03. > :30:10.at the Northwest 200. Let's join the commentary team. -- Malachi

:46:27. > :46:33.brightest prospect of the sport. His father Kevin paid this moving

:46:34. > :46:41.tribute. I have lost my best friend, my son. But he died doing what he

:46:42. > :46:47.wanted to do. He lived for riding, he has raced since he was six years

:46:48. > :46:52.old. The crowds have taken to him, he was a fantastic personality. No

:46:53. > :46:58.one has a bad word to say about him. I want to thank the paramedics for

:46:59. > :47:02.trying to save him at the roadside and thank the organisers for putting

:47:03. > :47:06.on a fantastic event. The information that came out, the way

:47:07. > :47:17.they helped me, when things went wrong. It was a great event.

:47:18. > :47:22.Saddened by his loss. He was destined for great things. He was

:47:23. > :47:28.quite a talent. He had done great things prior to losing his life. His

:47:29. > :47:36.CV throughout the years has been one of fast tracking. Changing the rules

:47:37. > :47:40.to let him right in super Moto when he was too young for the European

:47:41. > :47:46.Championships. Every time someone said you could not do that we

:47:47. > :47:51.changed the grain and did it. It got us to where we are. We did not come

:47:52. > :47:56.as a big bank account, but through hard work and grit and determination

:47:57. > :48:01.and his desire to win races. I have never seen desire Mike had. How

:48:05. > :48:13.Northern Ireland in this short space of time. A fantastic young man and a

:48:14. > :48:19.fantastic bike racer. The Northwest 200 abandoned then. A tragic way to

:48:25. > :48:27.crowds, records being broken and then things went wrong. Malachi

:48:28. > :48:32.Mitchell-Thomas was a great lad, he had a super future in the sport, he
