:00:53. > :01:02.The breathtaking causeway coast can rival any of the spectacular views

:01:03. > :01:07.of the world. And in May, as this coastline springs to the roads, live

:01:08. > :01:14.to the sound of motorcycle engines for one of Northern Ireland's guest

:01:15. > :01:19.and fastest sporting events. The international Northwest 200. Here's

:01:20. > :01:28.a reminder what has happened. COMMENTATOR: And they're off. How

:01:29. > :01:37.close is that? What a beautiful sight. Look at that back. How close

:01:38. > :01:50.are they? They are all in line. Four abreast. Oh, Rutter with his wheel

:01:51. > :02:01.in the air. On board with William Dunlop. Sealey has gone wide, he is

:02:02. > :02:12.over the pavement. Dunlop has done enough, in the dirt. And Sealey does

:02:13. > :02:19.it again. Jubilate in for Alistair Seeley. He extends his number of

:02:20. > :02:25.wins in record-breaking fashion. Here is what is coming up onto

:02:26. > :02:31.nights show. With three more thrilling races for you, a super

:02:32. > :02:41.sport battle and then the first Superbike race. But first it is the

:02:42. > :02:46.ultracompetitive super Twins. This unique circuit always produces some

:02:47. > :02:51.memorable racing. Its triangle in shape, almost nine miles long on

:02:52. > :03:02.closed public roads. Here is a quick 60 second guide. Win number 18 for

:03:03. > :03:08.the wizard. It is all about slipstream. The nickname is just

:03:09. > :03:18.very high speed, the bikes are in top gear for a long time. 180 mph.

:03:19. > :03:27.Coming from high speed down to slow speed for the chicane, it is easy to

:03:28. > :03:30.out-brake yourself. It gets quite physical on the big bikes on the

:03:31. > :03:36.coastal roads, you have the church up through the Hill, it can change

:03:37. > :03:41.direction quickly. Hard work there but the satisfaction is you get to

:03:42. > :03:45.Juniper Hill and that is where they say races are won and lost. Some

:03:46. > :03:52.riders are better on the brakes than others. Already we have cracked 200

:03:53. > :03:57.mph this week but if we can get the wind blowing in the right direction,

:03:58. > :04:06.a tailwind, with my stature and size and machinery, I would like to take

:04:07. > :04:10.the speed record. The next race is for the super twin machine. I am

:04:11. > :04:16.joined by British Superbike rider Michael Lafferty, the racing with

:04:17. > :04:20.very competitive, who should we keep an eye on here? It will be a very

:04:21. > :04:27.close race. Number one and two on the grid are Martin Jessup and

:04:28. > :04:30.Michael Rutter. They have shown how fast they are. They will be brimming

:04:31. > :04:38.with confidence. Michael Rutter will be disappointed after the superstock

:04:39. > :04:45.race. Also, the double win around here last year, he has form in the

:04:46. > :04:49.super twin class. He seems to be the master of the super trim machine so

:04:50. > :04:57.rule him out at your peril. A winner of the Ulster Grand Prix as well. We

:04:58. > :05:02.will join our commentary team. COMMENTATOR: Super twin action at

:05:03. > :05:07.the North West 200 and here is the group with Martin Jessup a surprise

:05:08. > :05:11.pole position. It is a fast bike, Michael Rutter going well on the K

:05:12. > :05:20.machine. We know how fast Ben Cooper is. Ivan Linton. Derek Shiels, and

:05:21. > :05:26.the youngster Paul Jordan. They are about 100 brake horsepower and they

:05:27. > :05:33.look for the lights and they drive off the line. Will it be Rutter or

:05:34. > :05:39.Jessup? How to and going past and Derek Sheils going past. They keep

:05:40. > :05:44.it going backwards, four laps, Jessup already in the lead. Perfect

:05:45. > :05:48.weather conditions. I could Dunlop didn't make the grid, they didn't

:05:49. > :05:56.get his bike finished in time. Michael Rutter, I am not sure if he

:05:57. > :06:03.has raced one of these twins before. Way up the hill find Derek Sheils.

:06:04. > :06:10.Lovely evening sun on the final race of the opening day of the 200 2017.

:06:11. > :06:17.Looking back to Ivan Linton. A double winner last year of course.

:06:18. > :06:22.It is not lap 306I can assure you, that is the revs we are getting on

:06:23. > :06:27.the data screen. I think he will be clinging onto this bike and using

:06:28. > :06:32.the slipstream. On board with Dan Cooper, down towards station corner.

:06:33. > :06:38.On one of these 650 cc machines. Absolutely underneath the screen and

:06:39. > :06:45.flat out. Getting back on with the race. James Cowton gets boast of

:06:46. > :06:52.them. This road is not wide at the best of times. Ivan Linton, where

:06:53. > :07:00.will he find space? Kind of getting squeezed out again. Looking back at

:07:01. > :07:07.Calton -- James Cowton, on the run towards university now. He got that

:07:08. > :07:12.horribly wrong. Gone deep but he has managed to get it stopped. All the

:07:13. > :07:22.time that has been going on, Jessup has pulled out some margin. This

:07:23. > :07:27.built at their own workshop. This brand-new machine, modified heavily.

:07:28. > :07:37.This is the view up to the chicane and into the evening sun. Back with

:07:38. > :07:40.Ivan Linton, going past Dan Cooper. Through the tight chicane. They have

:07:41. > :07:45.opened that up a tiny bit this year. A little faster going in. Looked

:07:46. > :07:53.like he was a little faster going out, Martin Jessup fastest. This is

:07:54. > :07:57.a great performance. He has come alive this year. He has or had

:07:58. > :08:01.promised but this year he is delivering. Dan Cooper doing his

:08:02. > :08:10.best to stop him. Lee Johnson is out, he was on the other machine

:08:11. > :08:17.around here, didn't complete a lap. Around the chicane. I think he is

:08:18. > :08:22.pulling away. He has made all the breaking needs and wants, rising his

:08:23. > :08:36.-- racing his own race. Rutter will close up

:08:37. > :08:47.a bit there is Dan Cooper behind us. Look at the former Jessopp is in.

:08:48. > :08:52.Having won a first Northwest 200 new superclass, can he make it a double?

:08:53. > :08:55.You can win one and then you have cracked it somehow, the secret is

:08:56. > :09:02.known to you and you can go on and win the next race more easily than

:09:03. > :09:06.it was to win the first race. Slightly more relaxed. That bike

:09:07. > :09:10.does look good. Like someone has spent some time in a wind tunnel

:09:11. > :09:19.with it working it out. You can choose whatever bodywork you want

:09:20. > :09:26.for these machines. Adam McLean is bind, good riding by him. 21 years

:09:27. > :09:32.old and all of a sudden he is right there with the front runners. In a

:09:33. > :09:35.major international road race. Good riding from him and he will be

:09:36. > :09:39.learning a lot from these experienced riders in front of him.

:09:40. > :09:43.Over the start and finish line he goes, Jessopp goes, he will get a

:09:44. > :09:47.pit board to get an indication of what is going on. I am guessing that

:09:48. > :09:53.is around a three second advantage. The rest of them will be plus

:09:54. > :09:57.nothing because they are all locked in this little scrap. Rutter has a

:09:58. > :10:05.bit of breathing space but with the slipstream working on it is not very

:10:06. > :10:13.much. McLean thinking about fourth place. Ivan Lewis and running his

:10:14. > :10:16.own race. He did have that double win at last year, Linton, the

:10:17. > :10:21.machine colloquy has stepped up a bit. Everyone improving each year.

:10:22. > :10:26.There is still the odd Suzuki in this class but mainly dominated by

:10:27. > :10:33.Kawasaki. Dan Cooper has closed up underbrakes. Linton gets out a

:10:34. > :10:39.little quicker. The camera makes the gap look bigger than it is. It wide

:10:40. > :10:44.look big enough for Martin Jessopp. Whatever he sees behind him. He

:10:45. > :10:49.wrapped himself around the bike. Dan Cooper uses the slipstream and

:10:50. > :10:54.charges by, through station again. Blasting through there and back on

:10:55. > :10:59.board. You can see the revs down at the bottom, 10,000 rpm is about

:11:00. > :11:04.maximum for these bikes. Trying to squeeze out more power. Duelling out

:11:05. > :11:08.in the sunshine. Side-by-side. We have seen the super twin riders more

:11:09. > :11:13.or less talking to each other on the run down to university. But these

:11:14. > :11:22.two are not talking to each other at the moment. Linton in front of

:11:23. > :11:29.Cooper. Turning in nicely. Well in the lead as he goes around the Magic

:11:30. > :11:37.roundabout. He looks so comfortable riding. Rutter is just there. Martin

:11:38. > :11:41.Jessopp will be getting pit boards to see what is going on. He will

:11:42. > :11:50.know he has a reasonable lead but cannot afford to back it down too

:11:51. > :11:56.much. If you can just get within, around 50 metres, that is something

:11:57. > :12:01.like the optimum drafting position. If he can get a good run on the

:12:02. > :12:09.Coast Road, there is no question, Michael Rutter has the magnets on.

:12:10. > :12:17.Linton the fastest? No, he is not. Left turn. Looking for the tight

:12:18. > :12:23.line there. This is where you try and pull out some advantage so you

:12:24. > :12:30.can drop the other guy behind you. Cooper clinging on like a Jack

:12:31. > :12:35.Russell on the back of Linton. Martin Jessopp riding his own race.

:12:36. > :12:42.He is closer again. The gap is coming down the whole time. Wouldn't

:12:43. > :12:49.it be extraordinary if Michael Rutter were to win this mate -- win

:12:50. > :12:55.this race. The hill towards the line. His team manager this year, it

:12:56. > :13:03.would be special for him. Help sponsoring the bike. Rutter steaming

:13:04. > :13:06.into that. The last lap flag is out. Indicating to the riders they have

:13:07. > :13:23.nine miles to see what they can sort out. Does he have a game plan? It is

:13:24. > :13:32.not as easy as that. Rutter going down the inside. He will know that

:13:33. > :13:39.Martin Jessopp's bike is fastest. The best thing is to hang into that

:13:40. > :13:53.slipstream as long as possible. Adam McLean.

:13:54. > :13:58.That has probably given Linton breathing space. This is where

:13:59. > :14:08.Michael Rutter will use the slipstream down towards church

:14:09. > :14:18.corner. Down towards station corner. The Kawasaki is pulling away. He

:14:19. > :14:22.will be good on the brakes and close him down. It is the last run down to

:14:23. > :14:27.Metropole, that is where he wants to try and do something about it. You

:14:28. > :15:27.have to be close enough coming out of the chicane. Last lap remember.

:15:28. > :15:37.These two, old adversary is. They have stoked each other around the

:15:38. > :15:41.streets of Macau many times. Jessopp has been ill, he has had a sciatic

:15:42. > :15:47.nerve problem. That is clearly sorted out. Rutter is closing, using

:15:48. > :15:53.the speed. There are coming down to Juniper Hill. Not close enough this

:15:54. > :16:00.time. Maybe this is his last chance. This is looking very commanding, the

:16:01. > :16:05.lead for Jessopp. Rutter only has one chance. Is it too late? I do not

:16:06. > :16:09.know if he is brave enough. An audacious move to go down the

:16:10. > :16:15.inside. It looks like Jessopp has got it. Rutter has gone in. Jessopp

:16:16. > :16:23.was out of line. Jessopp and smashed it. Michael Rutter was going to have

:16:24. > :16:28.a go. There was not enough room. That is a relief for him in grand

:16:29. > :16:34.style. Martin Jessopp takes victory number two. From zero to two. Dan

:16:35. > :16:41.Cooper in fourth. Adam McLean with the penalty that moved him back to

:16:42. > :16:45.six bank Derek Sheils. The idea was to, and qualify well. Race day last

:16:46. > :16:49.year, I never had a podium, now I have had three. I never had a

:16:50. > :16:55.victory, now I have had two on my first day. It has not sunk in. The

:16:56. > :17:05.same as with Supersport, everything is for a team and no one else.

:17:06. > :17:08.Alastair Seeley may be one of Northern Ireland's most accomplished

:17:09. > :17:13.motorcycle racers, but he only gets to ride his bike on the roads once a

:17:14. > :17:19.year. That is at the North West 200. Why? Because he has not got his

:17:20. > :17:23.motorbike licence. We caught up with him as he went through his test with

:17:24. > :17:35.another of her top bikers, Martin Bauer.

:17:36. > :17:40.It is strange, because you do not have to teach them how to work the

:17:41. > :17:45.clutch or engage gear, where the throttle is, the front and back

:17:46. > :17:50.brakes. They know. There are balances of power. We are working on

:17:51. > :18:01.life-saver checks, emergency checks, the position on the roads.

:18:02. > :18:07.Alastair Seeley, the record holder at the North West 200, he has not

:18:08. > :18:12.got his bike has? That is the thing. I remember Joey Dunlop did his bike

:18:13. > :18:16.has later on. There is lots of pressure on the instructor to fill

:18:17. > :18:19.someone of that calibre. How could he fail? The past is past, fair

:18:20. > :18:34.play. Hopefully I can pass as well. What is easier, closed-door open

:18:35. > :18:43.roads? Closed roads. I can give what I want and leave black lines on the

:18:44. > :18:49.tarmac. Also trying to get his licence, his good friend and top

:18:50. > :18:53.British motocross rider, Martin. I am a keen road racer. I have always

:18:54. > :18:59.wanted to get my case, my dad used to race. He has been at me for ages

:19:00. > :19:07.to get it done. I got speaking to Alastair Seeley. We are doing it

:19:08. > :19:12.now. It is exciting. It is always wanting to go, go, go. Going as fast

:19:13. > :19:16.as we can win we get out onto the roads. It is the other road users,

:19:17. > :19:23.cars and bicycles around us that we have to watch out for and then there

:19:24. > :19:26.is the traffic light. Seeley has already surpassed the North West 200

:19:27. > :19:31.achievements of Joey Dunlop and Robert Dunlop. Now he is targeting

:19:32. > :19:36.Philipp McCallan's podium record. I am with a good team, I am back with

:19:37. > :19:42.duelling Kawasaki. I am riding for them. They will be with me. --

:19:43. > :19:47.Gearlink. It is an honour to be mentioned in the same breath as

:19:48. > :19:51.those guys. I want to step onto the podium and take the record, and if

:19:52. > :19:58.it is on the top step, that is even better. You will be pleased to know

:19:59. > :20:02.that they both passed. Certainly no learner plates for Alastair Seeley,

:20:03. > :20:06.very much the man to beat again. Definitely, in my opinion the

:20:07. > :20:11.favourite for all classes. Every races entered in, the favourite. He

:20:12. > :20:17.is at home or in the Kawasaki in Supersport. In the Superstock

:20:18. > :20:21.racing, he looked like he had extra in the locker. It will be tough for

:20:22. > :20:27.the guys to rise to the challenge to defeat them. I can see extending his

:20:28. > :20:30.win record today. Enjoy, it is time to race.

:20:31. > :20:32.It is time to race, not perfect conditions, but here we go with

:20:33. > :20:43.Alastair Seeley on pole position. Two victories for Martin Jessopp at

:20:44. > :20:45.the North West 200. Ian Hutchinson, a bit lucky, and William Dunlop

:20:46. > :20:57.likewise. We like veterans as we get older.

:20:58. > :21:04.Who will it be? Seeley on pole position, need stick camera. It is

:21:05. > :21:09.going to be close. It looks like it is Alastair Seeley. Dean Harrison

:21:10. > :21:15.got a good start from the second row. What about the mature man, the

:21:16. > :21:21.veteran, Bruce. That was a great start from Brits. Alastair Seeley in

:21:22. > :21:25.the lead. Lee Johnston from Hutchinson. Dunlop at the back of

:21:26. > :21:30.the grave. Then it is James Cowton. Harrison up the inside. The leaders

:21:31. > :21:35.get thrown clear. That was very close. We saw Jamie Coward diving up

:21:36. > :21:42.the inside. Not perfect conditions, but it is drying all the time, they

:21:43. > :21:47.are on dry tyres. Seeley is looking good, as is Ian Hutchinson on the

:21:48. > :21:53.brand-new hour six Yamahas. We can see the odd spot of rain. Look at

:21:54. > :22:01.the revs, 15,000. 16,000 rpm from the Honda. A little red light will

:22:02. > :22:07.be blinking. He is going into the red. That is the spray coming back

:22:08. > :22:10.on the screen. Yes, he will be telling of Brucie PCs the red

:22:11. > :22:16.counter. There are through Station Corner. The sky Link scrape, but at

:22:17. > :22:21.the moment it is not raining. Bruce is being chased by Martin Jessopp.

:22:22. > :22:26.There is Lee Johnston, he is getting smoked. He is on the Triumph. You

:22:27. > :22:30.will get used to that, you can feel them coming and tear them coming.

:22:31. > :22:36.This is what it feels like when you're on the bike. I beg your

:22:37. > :22:43.pardon, Lee Johnston on the Honda. The Kawasaki. Hutchinson is tucked

:22:44. > :22:48.underneath the screen. Already, Alastair Seeley, number 34, has

:22:49. > :22:53.stretched out some margin. I think Philipp McCallan's podium record is

:22:54. > :22:59.in jeopardy. And his win record. That was bad news. What happened,

:23:00. > :23:05.did he miss a day, Peter Hickman? Of the start line we go with James

:23:06. > :23:11.Cowton. Screening through first, second, third gears. They have had

:23:12. > :23:15.the siting lap. Primrose Hill. Around the outside. A brave move by

:23:16. > :23:22.James Cowton. Around the outside of everyone. Their bodies all moving at

:23:23. > :23:26.the same point on the track when they get there. The clear visor is

:23:27. > :23:31.no good with the piercing eyes of Bruce. Hutchinson is on the back of

:23:32. > :23:39.number 34, trying to go round the outside. Surely he is not going to

:23:40. > :23:44.be able to. It is a dry line around here, but these guys look

:23:45. > :23:47.threatening. The podium record is under threat. I think Seeley came

:23:48. > :23:53.for the most wins in a meeting record. He did on and on Thursday

:23:54. > :23:57.night. If he can win four races today, he can arguably say that he

:23:58. > :24:05.has done more than Philipp McCallan. He is under attack. That is the

:24:06. > :24:11.Yamaha of Ian Hutchinson. Dry at the moment. I can see the lap record

:24:12. > :24:17.going at the moment, held by Alastair Seeley from last year. High

:24:18. > :24:23.speed. There is a spot of rain. A little bit of robbing. That is

:24:24. > :24:27.bracing. Robbing and missing a gear. The fastest top speed we have seen

:24:28. > :24:33.on a Supersport machine, 600, William Dunlop. 184.5 mph. We may

:24:34. > :24:37.not see that today because the wind is on their noise as they head

:24:38. > :24:44.towards University. Look at the wind working. That is Jessopp on the

:24:45. > :24:51.Triumph. Someone laid on the brakes, that was Bruce. There are years,

:24:52. > :24:54.number five. You option sponsors this weekend because Clive had lost

:24:55. > :24:58.one of his sponsors but fortunately he had held this weekend. The

:24:59. > :25:04.slipstream giving everyone an some help. They are together, we have a

:25:05. > :25:08.freight train on the move. On board with Dean Harrison. They got a good

:25:09. > :25:13.start. Everyone is in the pack. The slipstream can work for anyone and

:25:14. > :25:18.it can all change. Nine of them bunched up within 1.5 seconds.

:25:19. > :25:23.You're riding with Bruce. That is Ian Hutchinson in front of us. The

:25:24. > :25:27.lights are run, part of the regulations. If we have rain, you

:25:28. > :25:33.have to switch on the rear lights. We're going to have rain. At the

:25:34. > :25:38.moment, we're running in a window of opportunity for the Supersport race.

:25:39. > :25:43.This is window of opportunity for Bruce. Almost. This is Tom, look at

:25:44. > :25:48.the eyes, licking 250 metres up the road. That is where you will end up

:25:49. > :25:55.in split seconds, it is about focusing a long way in front of you.

:25:56. > :26:03.Oh dear. That was a lack of focus, locking the front up going into a

:26:04. > :26:07.chicane. I am sure he will be walking away from that and kicking

:26:08. > :26:13.himself. It was an easy part of the circuit. Alastair Seeley comedies

:26:14. > :26:19.behind, in the slipstream. His Kawasaki is singing. Back through

:26:20. > :26:22.the gears. There we go. Jessopp, Martin Jessopp. He has already won a

:26:23. > :26:29.couple of races this weekend, on Thursday. Martin Jessopp knows he

:26:30. > :26:35.can do it. Once you know, then you can do it again. That is what Fogler

:26:36. > :26:38.says, we will see if it is true for Martin Jessopp. We will see of

:26:39. > :26:45.Alastair Seeley can start nudging up the victories. Look at them. 15, an

:26:46. > :26:49.real. What a freight train we have. So many of them, the entire first

:26:50. > :26:56.wave is in the train and in the slipstream. Here it goes, working

:26:57. > :27:01.for Alastair Seeley. The little lad, the Wii Wizard. He is tiny, capable

:27:02. > :27:08.of getting himself in behind the screen. He is trying to keep himself

:27:09. > :27:12.on the bike. They all get on the brakes. Chris Lait on the brakes,

:27:13. > :27:25.Hutchinson even later. He jams it down the inside. -- Bruce was late.

:27:26. > :27:29.Alastair Seeley will be liking this better than anyone else. Can he get

:27:30. > :27:36.away, that is his trademark. Break the town. William Dunlop just got

:27:37. > :27:43.past Bruce. He is passing the new model as well. Jessopp in front.

:27:44. > :27:47.Swapping places in the draft. These boys all know it is the last lap

:27:48. > :27:51.that makes a difference. If you're in this together, you have an

:27:52. > :27:56.opportunity when the last lap comes along. That is what they will be

:27:57. > :28:02.thinking about. This is the Triumph were passing. Jessopp on board.

:28:03. > :28:08.Alastair Seeley. William Dunlop is made up so much ground. The bike is

:28:09. > :28:14.fast. He's going for the inside line, slotting into second. Almost a

:28:15. > :28:21.touch. Did you see? I did and Bruce was pushed out wide. The cutback in.

:28:22. > :28:25.William Dunlop, number 16. They are six Yamaha. He is right behind

:28:26. > :28:30.Alastair Seeley as we come onto the coast road. Left under the bridge

:28:31. > :28:34.and up to this sweeping left turn at the Christ. Still bunched up.

:28:35. > :28:39.Hutchinson on the inside, can he slot into third? Not this time

:28:40. > :28:43.around. William Dunlop hits the front. They are slipstreaming along

:28:44. > :28:49.the coast road. It used to be just on the long straights, but they are

:28:50. > :28:52.getting towed along. William Dunlop has the inside line. How brave will

:28:53. > :28:58.Alastair Seeley be around the outside? He owns the chicanes along

:28:59. > :29:03.the coast road, Seeley. He is the man. They are getting squeezed in.

:29:04. > :29:09.Lee Johnston is down. Adam McLean touched him and they got caught out.

:29:10. > :29:17.Lee Johnston has gone down, the number 13 Raider are in the racing

:29:18. > :29:24.Honda. Seeley did extraordinary things. Now everybody is trying it

:29:25. > :29:33.including William Dunlop. Yes, William is back in front. This is

:29:34. > :29:39.the wet patch on the chicane. Superb from the 22-year-old from Ballymena.

:29:40. > :29:47.Straight back in front. Primrose Hill and onto York Corner.

:29:48. > :29:52.Hutchinson is not done with either. Adam McLean is not done. Hutchinson

:29:53. > :29:56.thinks about William Dunlop. Adam McLean is having a go at Martin

:29:57. > :30:07.Jessopp, I think. White, gets passed. That is Michael. Yes, very

:30:08. > :30:10.much so. This was the pass, William Dunlop snicking underneath Alastair

:30:11. > :30:15.Seeley. Coming out with some road but he did not get the drive from

:30:16. > :30:18.the corner. If you going fast, you come out slow and Alastair Seeley to

:30:19. > :30:29.the advantage back. It is reaction time. Adam McLean land on top of Lee

:30:30. > :30:33.Johnston. There is definitely rain on the screen. This is the move from

:30:34. > :30:38.the outside, the replay. Really, he had nowhere to go. He was only an

:30:39. > :30:45.side. I am sure he will be having words. Adam McLean needs a

:30:46. > :30:49.sensible... There you can see, diminished grip levels with the

:30:50. > :30:53.flag. Spots of rain at Station Corner, the worst place in the world

:30:54. > :30:58.you would want it. In the meantime, Alastair Seeley is in front. Bruce

:30:59. > :31:14.is not enjoying these conditions. We can see the rev counter. It can

:31:15. > :31:21.go another 3000 on top of that. Alastair Seeley at the front. They

:31:22. > :31:25.are not stopping. Dunlop goes shooting through. Late braking-mac

:31:26. > :31:31.Alastair Seeley. Into University. Hutchinson on the inside. It is

:31:32. > :31:36.getting greasy. A few spots of rain still falling. Difficult on a nine

:31:37. > :31:41.mile course. It can be raining in one place, dry in another. William

:31:42. > :31:48.Dunlop looking to add to his tally of wins. Michael Dunlop looking to.

:31:49. > :31:54.Quite low down on the list of North West 200 winners. Right there at the

:31:55. > :32:00.top, especially after Thursday, and he is looking to tackle the podium,

:32:01. > :32:04.and win tally records of Philipp McCallan and Hutchinson is looking

:32:05. > :32:10.to tackle the slipstream. That work frame. It did. You can start seeing

:32:11. > :32:14.wetness on the rear tyres. Hutchinson late on the brakes. Down

:32:15. > :32:26.the inside. Adam McLean in third place. We're looking at Michael

:32:27. > :32:27.Dunlop in fourth. Straight back in the slipstream and on the throttle.

:32:28. > :32:41.Here we go, Hutchinson in front. Still all to play for for these

:32:42. > :32:52.writers. Anyone in front will always get a

:32:53. > :32:59.tricky situation because you don't really know how much rain there has

:33:00. > :33:14.been. It looks worse as we ride with Seeley.

:33:15. > :33:26.These short circuit races, they can go either way. That is not normally

:33:27. > :33:47.a place you would pass but it is Dunlop out in front.

:33:48. > :33:57.Who will break the latest? Seeley managed to get over and take his

:33:58. > :34:09.piece of track but William is going to lead over the line again. Will

:34:10. > :34:15.they stop this race? It looks drizzly. I don't like the look of

:34:16. > :34:19.this. Getting spots of rain on your visor, it is extremely difficult to

:34:20. > :34:28.know how wet it is on the track. When you see tracks from the tyres.

:34:29. > :34:36.A big blob of water on the camera. Oh, he's having a big slide issues.

:34:37. > :34:46.Arms are coming out. Hutch has put his arm out. Will they stop it?

:34:47. > :34:53.Bruce is retiring. Whether he has a problem or probably the weather.

:34:54. > :35:00.Over that patch, you see, he gets on the power. Alistair Seeley take the

:35:01. > :35:11.advantage, people putting their hands up wanting it stopped. Very

:35:12. > :35:15.gingerly. You don't know where it is dry, that is the problem. When you

:35:16. > :35:19.are in second or third place, you can see tracks coming up from the

:35:20. > :35:23.tyres in front of you. When the tyres are quite hot, they will grip

:35:24. > :35:29.on the damp but it won't stay hot for long. You need to be working the

:35:30. > :35:37.tyre to get it hot but if it is the brief dumber he decides that is it.

:35:38. > :35:49.It was all over the place. Way too old to do that. This is Michael

:35:50. > :35:58.Dunlop. Adam McLean. We have seen this before a couple of times. We

:35:59. > :36:08.have at that. Three local lads, Peter Hickman, we look back at him.

:36:09. > :36:19.Seeley has made the break. Look at Adam McLean. He just missed a gear,

:36:20. > :36:25.Adam McLean. Didn't quite get that right. They come through the

:36:26. > :36:31.Ballysally Roundabout. Reasonably dry here. The weather all seems to

:36:32. > :36:40.be at the top of the circuit near the coast. Clearly there are no red

:36:41. > :36:51.flags coming out, the rain must have abated, one assumes. The battle

:36:52. > :36:56.hasn't abated. He is so clever with conditions, Alistair Seeley. He can

:36:57. > :37:04.ride in poor conditions, driving away from this group. Adam McLean

:37:05. > :37:08.with his Kawasaki bouncing into the corner. Alistair Seeley leads this

:37:09. > :37:17.race. Not far to go to the finishing line. Flat out all the way. The

:37:18. > :37:25.Dunlop Brothers, William 32 and Michael 28. William gets through.

:37:26. > :37:31.His bike is faster, no question. He is probably slightly more narrow

:37:32. > :37:38.built as well. I would say William has that Yamaha engine that seems to

:37:39. > :37:45.be pulling him away. Michael is the younger brother but bigger. There is

:37:46. > :37:51.nothing stocky about this man at the front, Alistair Seeley. Absolutely

:37:52. > :38:00.superb around this course. Going for his 19th win here. It is going

:38:01. > :38:07.exactly according to his plan. He needed to be out in front of this

:38:08. > :38:14.race and that is what he has done. The Dunlop brothers still slugging

:38:15. > :38:26.it out behind him. Listen to the sound of the three cylinder machine.

:38:27. > :38:33.Seeley is cruising, a 3.5 second advantage. No lap records going, but

:38:34. > :38:39.the podium record may go, that of Philip McCallum. He worry has 18

:38:40. > :38:46.wins, it could be his 19th. Phenomenal stuff. What he is looking

:38:47. > :38:54.for after that is number 20 summit as the four in a day, or five in a

:38:55. > :38:59.day. Can he do it? Can he take all the records that are up for grabs

:39:00. > :39:11.this week? There it is, Alistair Seeley takes that win and he has 19

:39:12. > :39:16.now. Made that look easy. He is very happy. A nice way to start your day

:39:17. > :39:18.in tricky conditions. A four second advantage he has over William

:39:19. > :39:35.Dunlop. Win number 19, impressive stuff. I

:39:36. > :39:40.just used my head, riding smart, managed to work it out where the

:39:41. > :39:46.grip was and I put my head down on the last lap. I saw there was a bit

:39:47. > :39:54.of a gap. Brought it home for another win.

:39:55. > :40:02.Alistair Seeley's hometown is there. Another rider from there, making his

:40:03. > :40:08.second North West 200 appearance, who could make a big impact. The

:40:09. > :40:09.parish went to meet Glenn Erwin when the weather was a bit more sunny

:40:10. > :40:25.this week. I am sad to add the beach in

:40:26. > :40:28.Northern Ireland and you probably think it is Tenerife looking at the

:40:29. > :40:32.weather. I have Glenn Erwin with me. You live in a beautiful country and

:40:33. > :40:37.when it is like this it is fantastic. Really lucky being in

:40:38. > :40:43.Northern Ireland on a day like this. It is awesome. In perfect time for

:40:44. > :40:52.the north-west as well. You were here two years ago. We came here

:40:53. > :40:55.with the 600 and week it was so new to me then and I had no

:40:56. > :41:06.expectations. Ended up nearly winning the race. They are all going

:41:07. > :41:19.in there. He is almost of it on the gravel. You only get out what you

:41:20. > :41:25.put in. Everyone started training so we have all done it. I want to be

:41:26. > :41:29.one that is doing everything. It is not like you need a sports

:41:30. > :41:37.psychologist, some people seem to think that but I want to win. So I

:41:38. > :41:41.want something to help me. I have a challenge for you. On older than

:41:42. > :41:42.your dad but I want to give you a challenge on the beach to see how

:41:43. > :41:56.fit you are. We are on this beautiful beach which

:41:57. > :42:03.I am sure you have run on before. But you have a tyre strapped to your

:42:04. > :42:08.back. I am going to get it weighs four kilos. I've got one tied onto

:42:09. > :42:15.me and we will have a run down their and see how quick you are. Any money

:42:16. > :42:28.on this? 20 quid. 20, not as rich as you.

:42:29. > :42:42.It pains me but, there is the 20 quid. I will donate it to the air

:42:43. > :42:53.ambulance. Good idea, well done. What a great man and I will put

:42:54. > :42:57.another 20 quid on him for the race. Glenn Erwin on the front row of the

:42:58. > :43:01.grid but it is Michael Rutter in pole position for this Superbike

:43:02. > :43:07.race. In these conditions, he will be very good. Always known as the

:43:08. > :43:13.rain man for a long time in his career. He looked at home in the dry

:43:14. > :43:17.conditions in practice and in qualifying. He looked good in the

:43:18. > :43:23.superstock bike so he will bring the fight to Alistair Seeley who is

:43:24. > :43:29.pretty much the favourite for every class today. On the other side of

:43:30. > :43:33.the grid, you have Irwin, he is the dark horse. He is good in rain

:43:34. > :43:39.conditions but he is out to prove a point. Can Michael Dunlop be

:43:40. > :43:43.competitive on this brand-new Suzuki? I think so. It is still

:43:44. > :43:47.early days for them with the new bike but out of his three bikes,

:43:48. > :43:51.what I have seen in practice, he looks best on the Superbike. The

:43:52. > :43:58.more horsepower you give him, the better off he is. I would not rule

:43:59. > :44:02.him out for this one. Thank you Michael. One team missing from the

:44:03. > :44:06.grid is ponder racing, they have withdrawn after the writer John

:44:07. > :44:14.McGuinness crashed during practice. Here is their manager, Johnny

:44:15. > :44:18.Twelvetrees. John has come out of surgery, they have been working on

:44:19. > :44:24.his leg. It has been more work than they hoped but the surgery has gone

:44:25. > :44:28.really well and as good as can be expected. They are positive with

:44:29. > :44:35.that and Neil and myself will be going to see him this evening. And

:44:36. > :44:40.we wish him a speedy recovery. The Superbikes are ready. Back to Steve

:44:41. > :44:56.and Richard. The bikes are ready but the question over the weather again.

:44:57. > :45:03.Lee Johnston is back on after that crash. What will we make of this,

:45:04. > :45:08.another win for Seeley? They are gone full wet tyres, it has been

:45:09. > :45:13.declared a four lap race. They will be trying to get grip as the lights

:45:14. > :45:19.go green. Not the start Alistair Seeley wanted. He bogged down a bit.

:45:20. > :45:26.To is there. Michael Rutter round the outside and Dean Harrison is

:45:27. > :45:32.there. Hutchinson also there. We are riding with Irwin. There is Seeley.

:45:33. > :45:36.Going round the outside to everyone and getting boxed in. Michael

:45:37. > :45:41.Rutter, strike one for the old guys out in front. Looking very strong.

:45:42. > :45:43.Michael Rutter like some damp road. She was trying to get up the inside

:45:44. > :45:57.and making it work at your corner. The tyre technicians have advised

:45:58. > :46:01.four laps because of the high speeds on the wet tyres. I feel amount of

:46:02. > :46:06.grip. The back wheel of Michael Rutter was up in the air, virtually.

:46:07. > :46:10.The second row gets of the lane and legs just as good. Guy Martin

:46:11. > :46:17.missing from that. We're raiding with Derek Sheils. This is the

:46:18. > :46:23.rundown towards Station Corner. There is Michael Rutter, the bike

:46:24. > :46:28.weaving around and the tyres with the tread make them weave a little

:46:29. > :46:31.bit. But they give grip in the heat. That is commitment through Station

:46:32. > :46:38.Corner in these conditions. It did not take Seeley long to come back

:46:39. > :46:43.from the bad start. There they are, side-by-side, the two tackle BMWs.

:46:44. > :46:48.The spray coming up from the tyres. Michael Rutter is getting blasted.

:46:49. > :46:54.E-mailed him. They went through side-by-side. He took little from

:46:55. > :46:58.Michael Rutter. A little bit of shape from Hutchinson's machine.

:46:59. > :47:03.They come down to University. No one will catch on the brakes, but

:47:04. > :47:07.Michael Rutter might catch Hutchinson on the brakes. He has

:47:08. > :47:14.squeezed back up the inside. Hutchinson goes past Rutter. Glenn

:47:15. > :47:20.Irwin will have a look as they go by Ballysally Roundabout. You can see

:47:21. > :47:24.the piercing eyes looking out in front, trying to focus on what is

:47:25. > :47:28.going on, looking for the dry part of the course. When the rear tyres

:47:29. > :47:32.get hot, you look for a wet part of the track to keep the temperature

:47:33. > :47:36.down. Not many dry parts of the course. We can see that better than

:47:37. > :47:40.the riders. It is an experiment for them. Glenn Irwin using the

:47:41. > :47:51.slipstream. He has not had the track time he likes, but he knows how to

:47:52. > :47:54.make the draft work. Yes, and he is using all the lock as the bike box

:47:55. > :47:58.around. Down the slip road for Glenn Irwin. He has got to stop. He did

:47:59. > :48:04.not put his foot down. He virtually stopped. That was Hutchinson as

:48:05. > :48:12.well. Someone came out of the side of the escape road. Glenn Irwin

:48:13. > :48:15.recovering and back on it. Look at the bike moving around. It is not

:48:16. > :48:22.the most stable. I think Ian Hutchinson went down there as well.

:48:23. > :48:27.Yes, he takes the normal line, and Glenn Irwin takes to the grass. I

:48:28. > :48:30.would not recommend those tyres on the grass. He is back in the

:48:31. > :48:35.running, and there is Hutchinson. We saw Lee Johnston, raiding with a

:48:36. > :48:41.lump on his arm, but the Doctor says he's fine. He says he's fine, so

:48:42. > :48:45.years good to go. He has had a good start is race day at the North West

:48:46. > :48:51.200. He was so full of confidence from Thursday. Speaking of

:48:52. > :48:54.confidence, straight onto the inside, Glenn Irwin, recovering. He

:48:55. > :48:59.is a circuit racer. This is second nature. We saw Peter Hickman in the

:49:00. > :49:07.mix as well. The 30-year-old from Lincolnshire. It will be greasy

:49:08. > :49:11.through year. Seeley has pulled the pin. He is hunting records, Alastair

:49:12. > :49:17.Seeley. He knows this course in a way that other people do not seem

:49:18. > :49:22.too. He understands is race track. He knows where the grip is and he

:49:23. > :49:26.can feel the traction. He can move about on the bike, move it on the

:49:27. > :49:32.road, place it and aim it. He can do anything he wants, it seems. He is

:49:33. > :49:35.untouchable. To be the first guy out there, years when encountering all

:49:36. > :49:38.the problems but it does not seem to bother him. Glenn Irwin going back

:49:39. > :49:44.through the gearbox, going back to second year, maybe even first in

:49:45. > :49:51.these conditions. Yes, it is first, and he grabs second. You sound do

:49:52. > :49:56.that with his left foot. One up and five down, as opposed to a road

:49:57. > :50:04.bike. Bruce Anstey not having the best at the North West 200. Seeley

:50:05. > :50:08.over the line from Michael Rutter. Michael Rutter back on form, the way

:50:09. > :50:12.we like the same. Glenn Irwin was strong at the start. Perhaps we were

:50:13. > :50:16.all expecting a bit too much from Glenn Irwin coming into this race.

:50:17. > :50:21.He really does not plan his way around like some of the others, Lee

:50:22. > :50:26.Johnston included. Glenn Irwin has not had that many laps. Bruce

:50:27. > :50:31.Anstey, another retirement for him. Unfortunately for Clive in the team.

:50:32. > :50:36.That is sad news because Bruce normally has a podium here. Lee

:50:37. > :50:41.Johnston slithering around. The dark visor on, probably so he cannot see

:50:42. > :50:44.the damp patches. Lots of riders going for the clear visor, including

:50:45. > :50:48.Michael Rutter. He is coming through. Lee Johnston's front wheel

:50:49. > :50:56.lives as he comes out of that corner. Derek Sheils, on his

:50:57. > :51:01.machine. You can understand Derek Sheils looking over his shoulder. He

:51:02. > :51:07.is afraid of being pushed off. Look at this. It is slithering and

:51:08. > :51:11.sliding around. 200 horsepower. Just shifting his body weight around a

:51:12. > :51:17.little. He stands another gear to try and tame the 200 horsepower that

:51:18. > :51:20.the bike as, probably 220. If that happened on your road bike he would

:51:21. > :51:26.go home and lie down but Michael Rutter carries on racing. Hickman

:51:27. > :51:31.goes through, pass easily Ducati. Derek Sheils having a late as they

:51:32. > :51:36.come down to this amazingly fast corner, even in wet conditions, they

:51:37. > :51:41.are doing about 165 males per hour. Just backing of the power, trying to

:51:42. > :51:45.find grip, making sure the front wheel is firmly planted on the

:51:46. > :51:49.ground. Lots of spectators along here. There is the real line on the

:51:50. > :51:53.left-hand side. They will go over the top of that at the link road.

:51:54. > :51:58.That is the straight but it has some kinks in it. Straight steel and

:51:59. > :52:05.thereby joined by curves. Shoulder to shoulder, Glenn Irwin will not be

:52:06. > :52:13.outdone, but he might be out-braked. Peter Hickman. Peter Hickman

:52:14. > :52:20.generally rides well in these type of conditions. Lee Johnston, around

:52:21. > :52:26.the Ballysally Roundabout, he is looking lonely in third place. Yes,

:52:27. > :52:33.just a touch. Batman Seeley, already we up the road. We go back with

:52:34. > :52:39.Derek Sheils. The camera giving you a really good idea of how the bike

:52:40. > :52:43.is moving about. He is having a go. Easy going past Irwin, alongside

:52:44. > :52:48.now. He's trying to see where he is going because of the spray. They get

:52:49. > :52:53.rain behind them. He is having to wipe his visor to see where he is

:52:54. > :52:59.going. Just as you accelerate through 160, one 70. And. As you do.

:53:00. > :53:04.He is hanging on the back of Glenn Irwin, who has not had many laps

:53:05. > :53:07.this week. He only has the one bike and lots of the Superbike sessions

:53:08. > :53:12.were stopped. On Thursday night he only got about four laps. Derek

:53:13. > :53:17.Sheils cannot see where he is going. There is Alastair Seeley with 19

:53:18. > :53:23.wins, and Glenn Irwin, Yazd and about 18 laps around here. He did

:53:24. > :53:27.have a second in the Supersport class in 2015. We look at the vastly

:53:28. > :53:32.experienced Michael Rutter. Seeley is doing the disappearing act. His

:53:33. > :53:37.name is in the record books like no other. He will make it even harder

:53:38. > :53:42.to catch him now, and even easier to catch the likes of Philipp McCallan.

:53:43. > :53:46.There is only one Philipp McCallan, really, there is no one like Philipp

:53:47. > :53:51.McCallan. Michael Rutter splashing through the water, the same for Lee

:53:52. > :53:55.Johnston. It is wet. That is good, the riders say they wanted wet or

:53:56. > :54:01.dry, they do not wanted in between, they are running wet tyres. You

:54:02. > :54:04.often put wax on your visor and it allows the rain to blog. Derek

:54:05. > :54:09.Sheils get to spend coming out of there. They did not want to start

:54:10. > :54:13.when it was very wet. When the spray comes up, it is like fog. Derek

:54:14. > :54:18.Sheils is trying to see what is going on. Can you imagine if it was

:54:19. > :54:23.really wet? It is virtually impossible to see. If you were

:54:24. > :54:26.overtaking lorry in the pouring rain, you have a point where you

:54:27. > :54:32.cannot see. One of these bags doing 185 males prior, with a wet track,

:54:33. > :54:36.it will be throwing up similar spray to an April truck. What no one can

:54:37. > :54:44.see is where Alastair Seeley is going. He has gone. This is his

:54:45. > :54:48.race. He is doing it again. Sheils, using his experience and bravery

:54:49. > :54:54.through Station Corner. Trying to gain on it. Then the Ducati gets

:54:55. > :55:00.those tabs opened up, and massively powerful motorcycle, in a dynamic as

:55:01. > :55:03.well, probably the fastest bike here this weekend. Alastair Seeley is the

:55:04. > :55:08.fastest rider this weekend and in the race at the moment. Another

:55:09. > :55:13.Superbike win coming his way. He knows it, he has seen the pit

:55:14. > :55:16.boards. We know, we have watched him racing, and everyone else has

:55:17. > :55:23.watched him disappear. We're riding with Glenn Irwin, wriggling around.

:55:24. > :55:28.Every straight he gets on, it is moving around. Even Alastair Seeley,

:55:29. > :55:31.and that is the trade on the tyre, shifting around on the dry part of

:55:32. > :55:36.the course, but you have to have it that way to give you the grip on the

:55:37. > :55:42.wet parts. It is drying out. We are lucky to be ending this race on four

:55:43. > :55:49.pits -- laps, because the tyres will dry out. The track will dry out.

:55:50. > :55:55.Sheils, still getting spray from the track and Glenn Irwin in front of

:55:56. > :56:07.him. Yes. Down into metal pole, or in the brakes. -- Metropole Corner.

:56:08. > :56:12.The beautifully clean BMW needs a wash. It does not matter how dirty

:56:13. > :56:17.it is, as long as it runs smoothly. Generally they do. People are waving

:56:18. > :56:20.Alastair Seeley on. Looking for his 20th victory. He does not have to

:56:21. > :56:24.look far because he's about a mile away. If he turns around, he is

:56:25. > :56:30.about a mile away from any challenge. He could almost cruise

:56:31. > :56:34.home. Lee Johnston, the arms stood up well to the pressures of

:56:35. > :56:38.Superbike racing. This is stood up well to Superbike racing as well.

:56:39. > :56:42.What can you say about a man who keeps winning when everyone is to?

:56:43. > :56:46.It is like shelling peas frame. It keeps coming to him in any

:56:47. > :56:51.conditions that are. Alastair Seeley goes over the line to take his 20th

:56:52. > :56:58.victory at the North West 200. That was a formality, the chequered flag.

:56:59. > :57:03.Seeley dominant in these conditions. If you are any of the riders in the

:57:04. > :57:10.finishing roster, you would have to think, what can we do about Alastair

:57:11. > :57:13.Seeley? 21 seconds over Rutter, Lee Johnston and Glenn Irwin.

:57:14. > :57:17.Congratulations, your 20th North West 200 victory, and did I say,

:57:18. > :57:22.that looked like a cruise? It was not a cruise when I was sitting. The

:57:23. > :57:26.bike was moving around quite a bit, because the track was half wet and

:57:27. > :57:30.have dry, drying all the time. It has been a good week so for.

:57:31. > :57:35.Everything we changed in me better, it has been good. It is good to

:57:36. > :57:45.convert of the superstar, and the Superbike. -- the superstar. 20th

:57:46. > :57:51.victory and a 30th podium for Alastair. Incredible. We'll have to

:57:52. > :57:54.pull out of the sorrows. I am running out of superlatives to

:57:55. > :57:59.describe him around the North West 200. Another hat-trick and still two

:58:00. > :58:03.more races on the cards frame. He could make it five and equalled the

:58:04. > :58:07.Philipp McCallan record of five victories and one event. Philipp

:58:08. > :58:12.McCallan could argue the technicality that he did his in one

:58:13. > :58:17.day. But supreme, Alastair Seeley made it look easy, comfortable,

:58:18. > :58:22.composed, measured. It is not easy but he makes it look that way.

:58:23. > :58:26.Thanks indeed. Lots more to come on BBC One tomorrow night, in our final

:58:27. > :58:30.highlights programme at 10:40 p.m.. You can see the first two programmes

:58:31. > :58:36.again on the BBCi player and we have loads of extra content on the BBC

:58:37. > :59:02.website. For now, from all of us, it is by buy. -- it is bye-bye.

:59:03. > :59:05.I have never slept with a man that I just met.
