:00:00. > :00:00.2013, Stewart was in the form of his life. Although playing at an

:00:00. > :00:00.incredibly high level still, the killer touch seemed to have deserted

:00:07. > :00:10.him this last couple of years - until this week! He played with such

:00:11. > :00:18.a degree of ruthlessness against Nicky Brett, defending champion,

:00:19. > :00:22.that he could do nothing about it. I am really looking forward to it now,

:00:23. > :00:27.so yeah, it has been 2010, I think, the last time I got to the

:00:28. > :00:33.semifinals. Really looking forward to it, a class player, but he is Mr

:00:34. > :00:37.Unpredictable. As I say, I will play my own game and let that take out of

:00:38. > :00:43.itself. I will always turn up, always play to my best hopefully.

:00:44. > :00:45.Hopefully I will play well. He really has been playing well all

:00:46. > :00:51.week, and today he is going to have to play well because he is up

:00:52. > :00:54.against Jason Greenslade. Jason has been flying under the radar on his

:00:55. > :00:58.way to the semifinal, his progression through the rounds has

:00:59. > :01:03.been quiet but deadly. Such a tough opponent on the rink with one of the

:01:04. > :01:07.smoothest deliveries, he has looked on great form all week in Perth, and

:01:08. > :01:12.another title in Scotland is well within his grasp. He has had a tough

:01:13. > :01:28.time recently and did not expect to get so far, so we had booked a

:01:29. > :01:34.flight to Australia. ? I turned up on Thursday not really expecting a

:01:35. > :01:43.lot. My father had a heart operation on the Monday, so I be Lee turned up

:01:44. > :01:47.feeling not great, really. -- so I really. I played on the Saturday, I

:01:48. > :01:51.drove straight home, and then I spent the next day virtually in bed

:01:52. > :01:58.and slept for about 14 hours. And then I spoke to my dad and my mum.

:01:59. > :02:03.He was OK. He was feeling fairly good. And then I drove back up the

:02:04. > :02:07.following day, so hopefully he's going to recover. But he has got

:02:08. > :02:11.cancer problems as well, so it is one thing after another. I have come

:02:12. > :02:15.here, I have only bowled for the last few weeks, so I did not expect

:02:16. > :02:20.to do very well, hence I booked a flight for Thursday. It has just

:02:21. > :02:24.transpired, when you do not mind losing, you tend to relax and you

:02:25. > :02:30.win. APPLAUSE

:02:31. > :02:40.I would consider that my mind is nice and relaxed, and it is focused

:02:41. > :02:45.on the job. Because I was under a lot of stress with my dad, I had

:02:46. > :02:51.been getting quite stressed out and depressed, I think. So I went to a

:02:52. > :03:01.counsellor, and so I have been going three times a week, running up to

:03:02. > :03:11.eight miles. I can really shift. I was running about 1.12, couldn't

:03:12. > :03:17.break 1.10, and then my wife gave me Men's Health Magazine, And There Was

:03:18. > :03:22.A Powder, And I Knocked Eight Minutes Off. I cannot explain to you

:03:23. > :03:28.how much they worked. So I started using it for the bowls games, I use

:03:29. > :03:35.this tablet. It just helps me to focus and bring all my thoughts in,

:03:36. > :03:39.because I am quite lady, or I tend to look and think about everybody,

:03:40. > :03:44.and I Kenya the crowd and the commentators and everything. -- I

:03:45. > :03:55.can hear. It helps me to bring all my thought in, the word is centred.

:03:56. > :03:59.When I am closing my eyes, I do use a little bit of tricks, and I think

:04:00. > :04:05.about Buddha and all those things, so it really draws you win, you want

:04:06. > :04:11.your heart rate to be nice and still.

:04:12. > :04:18.Ladies and gentlemen, please give a very warm welcome for our first two

:04:19. > :04:23.semifinalists here at the Dewar's Centre today, former winner of the

:04:24. > :04:31.Scottish International open, the Welsh wizard, Jason Greenslade!

:04:32. > :05:01.And up against Jason this afternoon, 2013 world champion Stuart --

:05:02. > :05:07.Stewart Anderson! APPLAUSE

:05:08. > :05:14.Well, that is a pretty big noise for both competitors here this morning,

:05:15. > :05:17.this should be an absolutely fantastic match between two very

:05:18. > :05:22.fine players in date. David Corkill and Paul Mitchell will take you

:05:23. > :05:27.through this one. Stewart Anderson getting a great ovation, he will be

:05:28. > :05:31.the home favourite, but Jason Greenslade very popular to, and two

:05:32. > :05:38.players who have not dropped a set, something has to give. I think Jason

:05:39. > :05:42.has done the right thing, his wife has been a major influence on his

:05:43. > :05:52.life, and many years ago he was struggling a little bit with his

:05:53. > :05:57.game, and he just met her, she got him better, and his game started

:05:58. > :06:01.pushing up. He has gone back a little bit, and now he is coming

:06:02. > :06:05.forward again. I think it is a good idea with regards to Australia, but

:06:06. > :06:12.he doesn't really need to be there, it is not that important in the big

:06:13. > :06:15.scheme of world bowls. It is one of those things you like to enjoy, but

:06:16. > :06:17.he is up against world-class players, that what he wants to test

:06:18. > :06:26.themselves against. So Jason Greenslade and Stewart

:06:27. > :06:42.Anderson get us under way. Good opening bowl from the Scot.

:06:43. > :06:52.I think this will be Jason's biggest test with regards to the first two

:06:53. > :07:19.bowls from Stewart Anderson, a fantastic draw player.

:07:20. > :07:23.He is also looking very chilled, very relaxed this week. I have had a

:07:24. > :07:26.few chats with him, he is really feeling good. That is certainly the

:07:27. > :07:33.way to open the game. He will try to close this down as well as he can,

:07:34. > :07:34.get a really close bowl in there, restrict the possibility of a big

:07:35. > :07:56.count. Two red. That is a relatively easy

:07:57. > :08:05.third shot for Stewart Anderson. You can see Jason chatting away to

:08:06. > :08:10.himself. It is not easy. Thinking about an event as well as other

:08:11. > :08:15.things in life, it applies to a lot of the players in the circumstances

:08:16. > :08:23.they are in. But having that event hanging over his head, well, that

:08:24. > :08:28.has brought the jack out now. That is an unfortunate result, he did not

:08:29. > :08:32.need to be right in there. By going into the head, he has opened it up,

:08:33. > :08:36.and this could change things dramatically. It will take a good

:08:37. > :08:45.bowl to do it. There was no chance before.

:08:46. > :08:54.He cannot afford to drop short this time.

:08:55. > :09:02.Oh, he is all over this one, he is all over it! Stewart Anderson gave

:09:03. > :09:07.him that opportunity, he will be absolutely kicking himself. He can

:09:08. > :09:17.still get it back, the green bowl will go out. Well, the opportunity

:09:18. > :09:22.taken by Jason Greenslade. Just looking, there is a gap between the

:09:23. > :09:27.red and green, so it is not locked in. He will go looking for it,

:09:28. > :09:33.inside line, the bowl is perfect. This will go deeper very quickly.

:09:34. > :09:39.There it goes, yeah. He was not too far away, just an inch or two. But

:09:40. > :09:42.that is a head that he should have scored at least two. He opened up

:09:43. > :09:44.the door and Jason said, thank you very much, I will have a bit of

:09:45. > :09:54.that. Well, everything in that end. That

:09:55. > :09:59.and is in, two excellent opening bowls, and then the third one

:10:00. > :10:03.allowed his opponent back in. -- well, everything in that end for

:10:04. > :10:15.Stewart Anderson. The jack link is 29 metres. --

:10:16. > :10:35.length. Jason said he sometimes hears the

:10:36. > :10:39.crowd, other people, and he will hear the rain coming down at the

:10:40. > :10:46.moment, maybe that will block things out for him. We try very hard when

:10:47. > :10:47.they are at this end not to be too loud, because we are pretty

:10:48. > :10:59.soundproofed in here. We will not give him any bad advice,

:11:00. > :11:08.anyway, he knows what he's doing. Well, if he can hear as, he has not

:11:09. > :11:10.argued too much with us yet! He's a good lad, Jason, nice guy.

:11:11. > :11:39.Priorities are right. That is one of the smoothest

:11:40. > :11:43.deliveries you will ever see, Stewart Anderson. It looks like this

:11:44. > :12:16.one is pulling up a little bit. Well, he did not close the door. I

:12:17. > :12:23.expect Stuart to be in with this one. Stuart Anderson's career has

:12:24. > :12:28.opened up considerably in the last couple of years, brought into the

:12:29. > :12:37.squad by David Gourlay in the outdoor game. It was the retirement

:12:38. > :12:46.of David Peacock from the elite squad, Stewart Anderson has come

:12:47. > :12:52.into play in his place. So life is looking good for the Ayrshire man,

:12:53. > :12:54.just like this bowl is as well! He makes the distance, but it is second

:12:55. > :13:06.shot. Changes hand, danger. He plays the

:13:07. > :13:27.open hand. It almost takes a while to come to

:13:28. > :13:35.grips with that when you change from the backhand, the different pace.

:13:36. > :13:49.One green, last bowl of the end, Stewart Anderson. He too will

:13:50. > :13:55.change. Off beforehand. -- off the forehand. Will he drop short as

:13:56. > :14:08.well? Well, he is nearly there, but just getting onto the green one.

:14:09. > :14:23.So Jason Greenslade, beaded the Australian, and at the quarterfinal

:14:24. > :14:27.against Les Gillett. -- he beat. He is in good form, giving very little

:14:28. > :14:32.to his opponents. He has started off in familiar fashion here. Quite

:14:33. > :14:36.often when you are given an Australian draw, you are not sure

:14:37. > :14:42.what you're going to get - Barry is a top player, playing top level

:14:43. > :14:59.falls in Australia for a long time, he is no mug by any means. --

:15:00. > :15:05.top-level bowls. He is pushing it on, isn't he, David? Yes, it is the

:15:06. > :15:09.same thing, isn't it, not sure if you're going to get there. Graham

:15:10. > :15:15.McDougal, a bit of a chat with him, coming through as a qualifier,

:15:16. > :15:20.enjoyed it immensely, cannot wait to get back into it again, it has given

:15:21. > :15:25.him a real taste for this. They realised where he went wrong on a

:15:26. > :15:34.couple of occasions. -- he realised. Quite impressed by him, I thought he

:15:35. > :15:38.was a very good player. A few good players there or there about who you

:15:39. > :15:44.feel could make the breakthrough quite soon. -- thereabouts. Just

:15:45. > :16:02.trying to sneak around his own bowl, very good.

:16:03. > :16:09.Off the backhand, he will not be too unhappy if he just comes inside the

:16:10. > :16:19.green bowl. Well, actually, that is probably better. Two red. Before

:16:20. > :16:27.that, the jack was really going to scoot through if it was touched,

:16:28. > :16:33.this is a whole lot different. Jason might have a little pop at this.

:16:34. > :16:36.He's going to run out of time, so it will be a time-out call. Jason has

:16:37. > :16:44.four time-outs remaining. Early days. There will be an extra

:16:45. > :16:47.time-out given in the tie-break. An extra ten seconds to go. Not the

:16:48. > :17:02.panache of yesterday's one second. Well, very conservative. Even if he

:17:03. > :17:06.pushes his own bowl through, it is going to be handy. That gives him

:17:07. > :17:10.back position and his own bowl in the head. The next one will be

:17:11. > :17:14.attacking. Stewart has got choices, draw another one in or go deep. He

:17:15. > :17:24.knows what is going to happen, and Jason is pretty accurate.

:17:25. > :17:29.This is the opportunity to put a doubt into the mind of the

:17:30. > :17:47.opposition. Well, he is going to try and get to

:17:48. > :17:52.the back one, and that is a hard shot, I would not be surprised if

:17:53. > :17:58.Jason decided to go quicker at this. The only danger is, it is a touching

:17:59. > :18:00.bowl, if it goes through with the jack, you could lose more than two

:18:01. > :18:20.on the run-through. A controlled weight, try to take one

:18:21. > :18:21.away. Hard to get back down. Difficult shot, very difficult shot

:18:22. > :18:34.to play. Happy that he had a bowl either

:18:35. > :18:49.side, if either had been taken out, he still had a third shot.

:18:50. > :18:58.Very controlled, just looking for the draw. It is not an easy spare.

:18:59. > :19:07.Just trotting it. Two shots, Stewart Anderson.

:19:08. > :19:19.More people coming into the arena. Good crowds the last couple of days,

:19:20. > :19:27.very busy down here today and tomorrow.

:19:28. > :19:46.Just the background noises as people take their seats.

:19:47. > :19:54.Stewart Anderson, in particular, is one of the best at that. Some

:19:55. > :20:00.players, a little noise here and there is enough, and it is

:20:01. > :20:07.understandable. When they are about to deliver, every noise is

:20:08. > :20:08.magnified. With Stewart, you get the impression that it takes something

:20:09. > :20:13.really major to put him off. This looks better.

:20:14. > :21:58.APPLAUSE This is very close, just needs to

:21:59. > :22:01.dip to get to the red. Wrong side, good effort. That is good bowling,

:22:02. > :22:09.very accurate stuff. side of it. Once it started to dip,

:22:10. > :25:39.he wanted to go really quickly. A chance with this one, front edge

:25:40. > :25:47.would be good. Oh, wrong side. Their end mind, these guys can play all

:25:48. > :26:11.the shots. -- bear in mind. This is international league standard.

:26:12. > :26:32.Coming round to a good place as well.

:26:33. > :26:46.Close again... Not the gap, bowl first, oh, he has rocked it, though.

:26:47. > :26:55.It is going to be close. Sandra McLeish having a look. Favour green,

:26:56. > :27:05.Stewart. Favour green. I am inclined to believe Sandra. It is just an

:27:06. > :27:11.opinion, of course. But very experienced, these officials.

:27:12. > :27:23.Stewart, available tap down on the bowl. -- a little tap down on the

:27:24. > :27:25.bowl. Now, have you got the weight? It is all you need, the line is

:27:26. > :27:41.there. Over the years, those masterclasses,

:27:42. > :27:54.I must pop them onto a DVD some time.

:27:55. > :27:58.Players always looking for a way to get more information, a little bit

:27:59. > :28:12.of coaching. Gentle, gentle. He was reaching that

:28:13. > :28:17.OK, he certainly wasn't negative to it.

:28:18. > :28:43.Who could disagree with Sandra?! Absolutely right.

:28:44. > :28:53.We always suspected this match would be tied, and that is how it is so

:28:54. > :30:11.far. -- tight. Jacqueline is 28 metres. -- jack length.

:30:12. > :30:20.The problem Jason will have in Australia is that is an outdoor

:30:21. > :30:25.event. It is a qualification event, if you're in your nationals, other

:30:26. > :30:32.countries send their national champion across. Not everyone. Some

:30:33. > :30:38.do, some don't. The arrangements have been made, but there is always

:30:39. > :30:44.a potential clash with this. Jason wants to do well and that's what

:30:45. > :30:51.happened. It is an important event. Especially in regard to the outdoor.

:30:52. > :30:57.But it is a one-off event, whereas this event in terms of ranking etc

:30:58. > :31:06.adds up for the next three years. So it is important in a different way.

:31:07. > :31:08.Stewart may be tempted with this as a runnerment he has a shot down the

:31:09. > :31:27.forehand. -- as a runner. I thought he might go for it. The

:31:28. > :31:34.first running bowl we have seen for him. Three comes, takes the jack.

:31:35. > :31:40.Gets a good kiss off the green bowl. That was the bowl coming off the

:31:41. > :31:45.back bowl. He would have said if I get the jack, chances are I'll get

:31:46. > :31:52.something off the back one at the same time. The jack just moved its

:31:53. > :32:00.trajectory a little bit. It wasn't directly behind. But it's going to

:32:01. > :32:10.be very hard to beat. There is a marker that is placed above the

:32:11. > :32:14.jack. Bowl into the very edge of the ditch here. I think he will be a

:32:15. > :32:19.little bit careful. Pushed it out very wide, but he has to make sure

:32:20. > :32:26.of second shot. Trying to encourage it up. You can see Stewart's short

:32:27. > :32:28.red one that was counting and he couldn't afford to go for the number

:32:29. > :32:46.one. He can draw it. He can dry and take

:32:47. > :32:56.the green bowl off. The choice is his.

:32:57. > :33:18.He is toiling. I feel he missed one there. The conversion shot doing the

:33:19. > :33:19.job. Jason will be quite happy to have lost just a sing until that

:33:20. > :33:56.head. -- just a single in that head. Just to finish on the champions of

:33:57. > :34:04.jamp yons chat. Lee Williamson will be there for England. Kevin Anderson

:34:05. > :34:10.for Scotland. And there will be no Welsh presence. Neil Mulholland is

:34:11. > :34:16.going over. Indeed he is for Ireland. And then coming back and

:34:17. > :34:24.going to Cyprus for the Atlantic Rim. So a busy time. Whatever time

:34:25. > :34:37.people Iraq r Eck niez from the Scottish International Open was

:34:38. > :34:45.Marcus of Israel. Yes, great guy. We love him in Belfast he is a super

:34:46. > :34:55.guy. Some great bowling between Stewart Anderson and Jason

:34:56. > :35:00.Greenslade. You see the white mark there is in the rink. That is due to

:35:01. > :35:14.the chalk on the bowls just rubbing off as they are pushed around.

:35:15. > :35:25.Needs to hurry with this one. Got a chance. Very few loose bowls. Almost

:35:26. > :35:35.every bowl has got a value of some sort or other.

:35:36. > :35:41.High quality stuff. Now, Stewart, you just try and draw this or play

:35:42. > :36:04.with a little bit extra weight. He is out on the draw line. Just had

:36:05. > :36:09.a little bit on it - not much. Jason will know he needs to come around

:36:10. > :36:21.the back here. Seal off the jack. He the turn the jack around the

:36:22. > :36:27.corner. If you miss it on the high side you get on the red bowls, or

:36:28. > :36:33.drop through. Oh no, you don't want to be short. Oh, that's going to

:36:34. > :36:41.frame it. Well, that will force Stewart Anderson into something

:36:42. > :36:50.else. There is options here. He certainly has. Just looking to see

:36:51. > :36:55.the angles. Coming through on to the jack would be the ideal situation.

:36:56. > :36:59.Get it back into this position, dropping all the way through to the

:37:00. > :37:03.ditch. Even the jack beyond where I put it would be good. Another option

:37:04. > :37:10.if he wants to play it of course is to get into his own bowl. That takes

:37:11. > :37:14.the two green bowls away. So there is two or three options on the

:37:15. > :37:33.running bowl in the forehand. What is he is going to get? He is on

:37:34. > :37:49.one? He got one of the greens. He was calling it to hurry, because he

:37:50. > :37:54.wanted the jack. Good effort here. Wanted them both and dropped the

:37:55. > :38:38.other one. Just didn't get enough on it. There is one of them stayed in.

:38:39. > :38:47.Stewart Anderson still bemoaning his luck. Well, he probably thought, to

:38:48. > :38:51.be truthful, the way he hit the bowl it did look perfect to take them

:38:52. > :38:57.out. I was watching the replay and saying to myself, if he gets this

:38:58. > :39:04.absolutely plumb, he had to take the two of them out. The measure. The

:39:05. > :39:20.callipers extended. Very quick on that. It must be the green bowl.

:39:21. > :39:24.Yes. One to Jason Greenslade. Good set of bowls so far. Two ends to

:39:25. > :39:37.play and nothing to choose between them. Four apiece.

:39:38. > :39:48.The jack's very close. Lost it. Jack down. Oh, dear, just by an inch.

:39:49. > :39:53.Now, I just wonder... Yes there is the mat coming back. I wonder will

:39:54. > :39:58.Stewart do something quite dramatic here? Jason really likes the long

:39:59. > :40:03.ends, so Stewart has to go a bit shorter. Time for some inner calm

:40:04. > :40:22.for Jason Greenslade. Well, it is a full length jack. He

:40:23. > :40:28.has got the mat back for an extra metre or two, but this a surprising.

:40:29. > :40:40.Thought he might have taken a risk on that. We know Stewart Anderson is

:40:41. > :40:44.very good at the short jack length. Still, good tactical change by

:40:45. > :40:53.moving the mat back, because it's brought Jason up short.

:40:54. > :41:03.It certainly didn't look short. Which suggests if he didn't like it

:41:04. > :41:09.he's pushed it too much. I tell you what, I wish I could play bad bowls

:41:10. > :41:14.like that. The trouble is at this level you know when ever you expect

:41:15. > :41:16.to be within three or four inches and Stewart wasn't sure there. He

:41:17. > :41:24.thought he was closer. This is struggling as well. Jason,

:41:25. > :41:57.this is not a time to go walk about. Well again I think Stewart would

:41:58. > :42:06.have expected that bowl to have been whizzing in towards the jack. Just

:42:07. > :42:09.held off. That hand goes all the way back. Twists around his body and

:42:10. > :42:21.then comes through. Quite unique. He is struggling for weight again.

:42:22. > :42:32.That is not going to make it, I don't think. Well, it's close. Just

:42:33. > :42:44.made it over the seam of the carpet. Where the stitching in, and that

:42:45. > :42:50.just held the bowl up a bit. Sandra is asked for her opinion. UMPIRE:

:42:51. > :42:57.Slightly favours you, Stewart, but it is very close.

:42:58. > :43:09.Now forehand and the change, quite often it drops short. Here we go.

:43:10. > :43:13.That's happened so often in this event. Been playing the backhand,

:43:14. > :43:18.backhand and you move to the forehand and you drop short with the

:43:19. > :43:25.first one. He will make the correction with the next one. A

:43:26. > :43:44.chance for Jason Greenslade to make life harder for Stewart Anderson.

:43:45. > :43:56.That looks better. He touched the jack back. So he might have made a

:43:57. > :44:01.double. He has indeed. That was a real bonus. The bowl was moved away

:44:02. > :44:06.that meant the red bowl was lying now. And then moves the jack back a

:44:07. > :44:14.couple of inches and gathers up a double.

:44:15. > :44:25.Stewart will be hoping to draw this very close. At least second shot.

:44:26. > :44:30.Well, he is certainly arriving. Will it stop? Its not stopping, it is

:44:31. > :44:43.slightly better. It will fall second shot. I think it's second, yes. Good

:44:44. > :45:28.bowl. Really good bowl. It is a tight old set.

:45:29. > :45:39.Well what a last end this could be. That one will delight the Welsh

:45:40. > :45:46.fans. Yes, we have one or two still around the place. Some very close.

:45:47. > :45:52.We can hear their support coming through clear as a bell on

:45:53. > :46:01.occasions. The principality's doing well.

:46:02. > :46:16.This a worth applause. It's in a good place.

:46:17. > :46:23.Stewart will be thinking get at least one here. Do not lose this

:46:24. > :46:27.set. Both players have played well. A drawn set would probably be a fair

:46:28. > :46:38.result I would say on the balance of play. This is good. Well he will be

:46:39. > :46:44.tempted now to run this, if he gets it right opt backhand, if he wants

:46:45. > :46:48.to play it on the backhand, it will squeeze the jack through and

:46:49. > :46:52.possibly follow after it into the ditch. Forehand's available. The

:46:53. > :47:03.only danger is he could take his own bowl away.

:47:04. > :47:16.Yes, on the fore. Looks under. You could hear the thump there. It was

:47:17. > :47:21.played with a fair bit of weight. On reflection I don't think Stewart's

:47:22. > :47:23.vep worried about taking his own bowl out. It won't make any

:47:24. > :48:00.difference. More weight this time. Again just on

:48:01. > :48:07.the inside of it. Needs the jack. Gets the jack. That green bowl is

:48:08. > :48:13.lifted out. That is a massive bonus on the way through. He did not

:48:14. > :50:09.predict that. So the red bowl stays live. The

:50:10. > :50:20.predict that. So the red bowl stays way and then the other. The pendulum

:50:21. > :50:43.settles in favour of the Scot. Stewart Anderson 6-5 winner.

:50:44. > :50:50.Sometimes great bowls aren't enough. Your opponent with right of reply.

:50:51. > :51:09.Two great final deliveries from both these players.

:51:10. > :51:30.Good way to start the second set for Jason Greenslade.

:51:31. > :51:44.Stewart Anderson's not bad either. How about that? We knew it was going

:51:45. > :51:52.to be good. UMPIRE: The gap with yours is one and a half inches.

:51:53. > :51:57.Jason's game is very good on the fast carpet as well.

:51:58. > :52:05.Although he has been successful on slow greens outdoors as well. A very

:52:06. > :52:11.good player in door and outdoor. He will see if this one is going to get

:52:12. > :52:19.back in time. Oh, look at this. That is fantastic. That really is. He is

:52:20. > :52:24.the sort of player you can't afford to ignore when events come up on

:52:25. > :52:30.fast greens and some big events coming up over the next couple of

:52:31. > :52:36.years. Australia and New Zealand where his style of play is perfect.

:52:37. > :52:43.The draw, drive game that he is so good at.

:52:44. > :52:52.Stewart looking to arrive with this. A bit of extra weight on it to pull

:52:53. > :53:02.the jack back. Oh, surely not? Unlucky. Caught the jack first.

:53:03. > :53:10.Wanted the bowl. There is nothing safe at the moment. UMPIRE:

:53:11. > :53:18.Stewart's bowl is five inches gap and your bowl is just over five and

:53:19. > :53:22.a half inches. As much information as any one person can take in.

:53:23. > :53:32.Gives Jason what he needs to know and saves him walking up and using a

:53:33. > :53:42.time out. But it didn't compute. He has dropped short. Good game so far.

:53:43. > :54:08.Certainly worth getting up early for.

:54:09. > :54:12.Just going to make it past, but it is coming into a lovely position.

:54:13. > :54:34.That gives him an option. Our marker Sandra McLeish picking up

:54:35. > :54:38.a little drink of water which you may of caught on the microphone! The

:54:39. > :54:53.squeeze of the plastic bottle! Not a sound in Perth that doesn't go

:54:54. > :55:01.undetected by our sound crew, I'll tell you! Just looking on the

:55:02. > :55:04.forehand, if he gets a tap on to his own bowl, the jack will come back

:55:05. > :55:09.into this position and will turn to it to draw it. But if you have

:55:10. > :55:16.enough weight he will be happy to tap that bowl.

:55:17. > :55:26.Couldn't afford to attack it too much. Well he had the right idea.

:55:27. > :55:34.Bowl on the jack. Just hard to judge where it's going to come back. Right

:55:35. > :55:44.shot, Stewart. Just a hard hand to play it on. The first semi-final for

:55:45. > :55:53.the Scottish International Open in front of a full house. Stewart

:55:54. > :55:58.Anderson taking the first set. Stewart Anderson playing in his

:55:59. > :56:03.third semi-final. He made the semi-final in his first year. The

:56:04. > :56:20.final the next when he was runner up against Mervyn King.

:56:21. > :56:27.Jason's got a great depth of concentration. It takes a bit to

:56:28. > :56:30.annoy him in terms of movement or crowd. So the end result is good

:56:31. > :57:07.over that distance. Very handy. Good to see both these guys playing

:57:08. > :57:12.so well. If one goes off their game, it will be a very quick set. But

:57:13. > :57:26.they're both playing exceptional stuff at the moment.

:57:27. > :58:05.Close again. Well that's got to be tempting this, the little runner.

:58:06. > :58:10.UMPIRE: The last bowl is almost one full bowl short of jack high. More

:58:11. > :58:14.than likely will punch that out. But he needs the angle to come back on

:58:15. > :58:18.to the jack to bounce the jack out into the open. His own bowls into

:58:19. > :58:23.the head would be good as well. He has got to be tempted with this.

:58:24. > :58:30.Yes, a little runner. A little forehand runner. The shot clock was

:58:31. > :58:34.counting down. It goes away very quickly. Needs an edge. Got the

:58:35. > :58:43.edge. It decided to go with it as well. Wasn't far away from the

:58:44. > :58:46.target. But... A little hand of acknowledgement. It wasn't what he

:58:47. > :58:55.was playing for, but that was the result he got. Professional

:58:56. > :59:14.sportsmen. A little apology. Both players have had a bit of that.

:59:15. > :59:21.Of centre, almost on the restart itself, which the players will

:59:22. > :59:27.practice too. -- off centre. I guarantee you that that bowl moved

:59:28. > :59:33.on a bit further than Stewart Anderson thought it would. I reckon

:59:34. > :59:36.he thought he was within about four or five inches. Still not easy to

:59:37. > :00:04.beat. He is asking it to stop. You may

:00:05. > :00:06.rest on the red bowl. That was going to be shot, a very slight touch, but

:00:07. > :00:23.it didn't need it. There is something different about

:00:24. > :00:36.this one, slightly under the line. Must have good weight. It just bends

:00:37. > :00:44.away. It just looked to be underneath. It was not out as wide

:00:45. > :00:53.as the previous bowl, and although his weight was excellent... So as he

:00:54. > :00:58.started the first set, he starts the second, Jason Greenslade, two

:00:59. > :01:04.singles in a set he has to win to force the tie-break.

:01:05. > :02:30.Good again. That is excellent, it really is. Exactly, one front, one

:02:31. > :02:36.back. Stewart will be tempted to have a go at this, but he knows it

:02:37. > :02:44.is only single bowl, not easy. Yeah, he is having a go. Just shifting to

:02:45. > :02:48.the side, no more. Could have been worse, could have taken his own. For

:02:49. > :03:23.a second, he might. Around the back, well, he has just

:03:24. > :03:27.covered the re-spot. I am not sure if he wanted to come further round

:03:28. > :03:32.the back. He would have been looking to see where the jack was going to

:03:33. > :03:36.go. It is unusual, with the jack sitting there, that it would go all

:03:37. > :03:40.the way through without hitting something. It looks like it is going

:03:41. > :03:42.to squeeze out to the re-spot. He probably would have liked to have

:03:43. > :03:56.been one foot behind it. Oh, he is going again. Very close

:03:57. > :04:09.this time. Oh! Oh! Brilliant shot! Absolutely brilliant shot to take

:04:10. > :04:13.that without the jack going. Magic from Stewart Anderson, we see the

:04:14. > :04:20.French connection, somehow the jack remained unmoved by all the movement

:04:21. > :04:25.around it. -- front connection. You would have expected the jack to move

:04:26. > :04:31.a little bit somewhere, but the half bowl connection, perfect. Jason has

:04:32. > :04:38.got to try and draw the shot again. Never easy.

:04:39. > :04:48.It looks good. It is good. Yeah, well done. I would not be at all

:04:49. > :04:56.surprised to see Stewart playing this off the forehand. He has got

:04:57. > :05:00.that bowl to rest or drive the jack, alternatively he can drive it out,

:05:01. > :05:04.but the back position is against him. He certainly would not want to

:05:05. > :05:17.take his own bowl out. So a little forehand draw.

:05:18. > :05:27.Yes, just trying to play the bowl off if he can, has he got enough of

:05:28. > :05:37.it? Not quite. Two chances, rest the bowl off or turn the jack.

:05:38. > :05:53.Not hanging about, Jason Greenslade, gets the shot, mat goes down. Just

:05:54. > :05:59.keeping a tempo to the game. Moving on at a nice little place, certainly

:06:00. > :06:03.not too many time-outs are being used, but a long way to go, six ends

:06:04. > :06:47.in the second set. He didn't like that, Stewart

:06:48. > :07:03.Anderson. He knew he got the shoulder behind it.

:07:04. > :07:16.So on Friday the 13th, Jason Greenslade looking to make his next

:07:17. > :07:17.semifinal. Never really understood that, I always thought it was a

:07:18. > :07:31.lucky day. Strangely enough, I never really

:07:32. > :07:38.noticed it before, but there is no row 13 in aeroplanes. Some will not

:07:39. > :07:42.have 13 on the roster or their strips, and then some people

:07:43. > :07:46.deliberately do wear number 13 in sport. It all depends on your

:07:47. > :08:09.perspective. Certainly pushed this one out, a lot

:08:10. > :08:15.of work to do to get back from that height. Here it comes. Here it

:08:16. > :08:20.comes... It is doing its best. APPLAUSE

:08:21. > :08:28.Excellent bowl, really good delivery. Half framed it, as I would

:08:29. > :08:29.say, not a total frame when it turns out an the leader's side of the

:08:30. > :08:51.jack. Still trying to draw to it, any

:08:52. > :09:00.extra weight and it will struggle. It has. You can see it at that

:09:01. > :09:08.little bit extra on it. It refused to come in as a result. Jason is

:09:09. > :09:10.looking at this, the head is set up pretty well, it is one of those ones

:09:11. > :09:36.where he can afford to draw another. Well, he is out on the re-spot. I

:09:37. > :09:46.wasn't sure if he had covered already with the deep green one. He

:09:47. > :09:49.is not sure either. No, he is not, if he had come down and had a look,

:09:50. > :09:58.he might have realised it wasn't badly positioned. Does he stay with

:09:59. > :10:04.the draw or cook it a little bit more? He was very close last time,

:10:05. > :10:16.just take a little bit of weight. He has over corrected. Yeah, it has

:10:17. > :10:21.gone. Two shots, Jason Greenslade. The man who needs to get the set to

:10:22. > :10:37.force the tie-break, the Welshman, Jason Greenslade is 5-0. Well, a

:10:38. > :10:43.fifth semifinal in Perth for Jason Greenslade, he has lost in his last

:10:44. > :10:46.three. The latest of those was 2013, a game against Nicky Brett,

:10:47. > :11:06.8-8, 65 in the second. -- 6-5. Jason doesn't give games away

:11:07. > :11:15.lightly, he makes people work for them, as the top players all do. He

:11:16. > :11:27.will have to play well. They have got a very good youth programme as

:11:28. > :11:30.well in Wales, the same as Scotland. Their international team, in

:11:31. > :11:38.particular in Wales, is very young, they are rebuilding that, indoor in

:11:39. > :11:46.particular. Quite sensible about it, they are giving the young lads time

:11:47. > :11:49.to develop. They are not worried about losing matches at the moment,

:11:50. > :11:59.more concerned about making sure they are good for the future, a

:12:00. > :12:05.sensible approach. Did I just say selectors being sensible?! I thought

:12:06. > :12:12.that for a moment, I just assumed it was a blemish on your spotless

:12:13. > :12:15.record! Manager will be saying, really, David? You have done the

:12:16. > :12:19.right thing, giving the guy the chance. Is he going to make it? Not

:12:20. > :12:42.quite. Jason Greenslade, one of those

:12:43. > :12:50.players who has done virtually everything. Trying to encourage this

:12:51. > :15:15.one down. Well, it is in, but it is just a little rest for him, drop in.

:15:16. > :15:21.be the pivotal bowl. Well, that is what he needed, he was 8-0 down, and

:15:22. > :15:51.it was going to be set over. So the competition's number 12 seat,

:15:52. > :15:59.Jason Greenslade, against Stewart Anderson, the number nine. Half a

:16:00. > :16:02.bowl short. Yes, they will be thinking about the ranking points,

:16:03. > :16:08.of course, which will accumulate from this event. The next

:16:09. > :16:14.semifinal, well, that is really tasty as well, isn't it? Looking

:16:15. > :16:23.forward to that one. Greg Harlow taking on Darren Burnett. England

:16:24. > :16:35.and Scotland clash. One green. Two inches past.

:16:36. > :16:45.Well, the last time these players met on tour singles duty, back in

:16:46. > :16:52.Wales in 2011, it went to a tie-break. Stewart Anderson just

:16:53. > :17:02.needs a tide set to take him through. Still slightly flavour you,

:17:03. > :17:06.Jason. Yes, even for macro shots behind, there is not that many

:17:07. > :17:13.people would bet against Stewart Anderson to make a real battle of

:17:14. > :17:16.the second set and get into the last end. This needs to run, just a

:17:17. > :17:45.little bit under. Oh, look at this, he wants the edge

:17:46. > :17:55.of the jack. Yeah, loved it, as soon as he got the edge, that turned it

:17:56. > :18:00.into three. Just a little touch across, and Jason Greenslade has got

:18:01. > :18:08.two bowls to play, he might have a run at this. Oh, I think he will! I

:18:09. > :18:16.think he will try to draw this one. He should come down reasonably quick

:18:17. > :18:22.on this one. It is away smoothly, it has got a chance. Oh, that is

:18:23. > :18:26.unlikely, that is unlucky, he was bang on target there, but he got a

:18:27. > :18:32.horrible result, just taking one away. The way the header was

:18:33. > :18:41.angled, it would have been very easy for the jack to move. He would have

:18:42. > :18:43.expected two bowls to go. Yeah, got it half on the inside, not as solid

:18:44. > :19:00.as I thought he did initially. Stewart Anderson knows his opponent

:19:01. > :19:07.has got two bowls at the back. He doesn't look happy with this one,

:19:08. > :19:12.his reaction was to kick it. Now, if that has not beaten the other green

:19:13. > :19:14.bowl, that is important, who is lying fourth in the shot? Jason will

:19:15. > :19:26.go at this. Yeah, an understandable shake of the

:19:27. > :19:37.head from Stewart Anderson. Jason Greenslade is going to take a time

:19:38. > :19:41.out. Time-out called. Jason has two time-outs remaining. Critical bowl

:19:42. > :19:46.for Jason is this one, because if that is beating the short red will,

:19:47. > :19:53.if he takes his own at, it does not matter. You can afford to play right

:19:54. > :19:57.into this, squeeze the jack out. It seems strange that a bowl four or

:19:58. > :19:58.five feet away could be so important, but it does make a

:19:59. > :20:08.massive difference. It gives him that extra little bit

:20:09. > :20:20.of a safety blanket if he takes his own way. -- his own away.

:20:21. > :20:40.He was under from a long way out. Two shots, Stewart Anderson.

:20:41. > :20:54.Stewart Anderson with three ends to play as put himself back into this

:20:55. > :21:02.set. Well, Jason Greenslade, no-one more ends in the first set, but on

:21:03. > :21:10.the wrong end of the scoreline. I get the impression that his bowl was

:21:11. > :21:13.not forced, he played inside the line to protect his own bowl. That

:21:14. > :21:31.is why it was so critical, that one. Stewart Anderson, as he so often

:21:32. > :21:34.does, is just getting on with the business. Both these players have

:21:35. > :21:49.been very good in this match. It has been a loose one Portstewart.

:21:50. > :21:58.-- for Stewart. Jason Greenslade has been in all the finals of the major

:21:59. > :22:04.competitions, such an experienced player. His opponent, Stewart

:22:05. > :22:25.Anderson, three finals in 18 events is his record.

:22:26. > :22:37.I bet he thought that was closer close to the green bowl. I slightly

:22:38. > :22:41.favour green. So this off the forehand. Is own green bowl is

:22:42. > :22:48.vulnerable at the moment, it could drop away very easily. -- his. Back

:22:49. > :22:53.on the wide line to the jack, he will feel a lot happier, here it

:22:54. > :23:02.comes. It needs to stop in time, and it does, good bowl. One green and a

:23:03. > :23:06.measure. Stewart can play either side and misses own bowl, but the

:23:07. > :23:14.forehand would be my preferred option on this, because he has a old

:23:15. > :23:28.to rest for the shot. Yeah, he is going to the forehand.

:23:29. > :23:31.He wants to stay away from the front green one.

:23:32. > :23:43.APPLAUSE Once he got past that, this might

:23:44. > :23:51.put Jason onto the backhand. He can see the red one. Four and a half

:23:52. > :23:59.inches. Watching and all the way up, Stewart Anderson, and it lies one.

:24:00. > :24:03.Jason Quintal a these little runners, but he is staying on the

:24:04. > :24:05.forehand, trying to draw it. I thought he might have been tempted

:24:06. > :24:18.with a little push out shot. Oh, he is giving this a go, he is

:24:19. > :24:23.very close with this, really close. Gently, gently, doesn't want to bowl

:24:24. > :24:28.back. That is a brilliant bowl. That was the second option after the

:24:29. > :24:36.draw. In many respects, the harder shot, but played it to perfection.

:24:37. > :24:37.Well, he read it perfectly, great weight, stayed up, which will

:24:38. > :25:05.delight him. Virtually the same as his last. Just

:25:06. > :25:10.that little bit extra. He wanted to stay up, he doesn't want it to bowl.

:25:11. > :25:14.I think it is solid enough at the moment, but it looks like it is

:25:15. > :25:22.going to drop away, a smile from Jason, he can almost see it moving.

:25:23. > :25:26.Oh! That is right on a knife edge. This is important, because if that

:25:27. > :25:35.bowl drops, it is a big difference in the context of the set. Now,

:25:36. > :25:38.Jason, on the backhand? That is a hard shot. I thought he might play

:25:39. > :25:47.the forehand, tried to drop his own bowl down. Yes, it dropped, you

:25:48. > :25:52.could almost see it moving. Jason's bowl was halfway up the rink at the

:25:53. > :26:00.time. It is going to be one to green. The way it was sitting, it

:26:01. > :26:04.was desperate to bowl away. Well, I think Stewart had resigned himself

:26:05. > :26:12.to the fact that it was going to drop out. One or two in the crowd

:26:13. > :26:16.were slightly surprised, keeping their eye on the bowl that came down

:26:17. > :26:27.therein, they had not spotted it falling. -- came down the rink.

:26:28. > :26:34.Jason uses meditation to take away anything that is negative. All

:26:35. > :26:49.different ways, that is what he uses, some people use, well, just a

:26:50. > :26:52.walk off the rink and have a glass of water or something, just chill

:26:53. > :26:57.that way. It is a mental game, this, as well as physical. In the

:26:58. > :27:02.short matches, the physicality has gone out of it a little bit, from

:27:03. > :27:09.the days that we used to play three or four our matches. The long games,

:27:10. > :27:16.where we used to play nine sets, well, they were quite frightening.

:27:17. > :27:21.You had to be fairly fit to go through those, but it is the mental

:27:22. > :27:36.side of it now. It is very important.

:27:37. > :27:49.Stewart Anderson, if he scores here, will know he has got a chance. Oh,

:27:50. > :27:54.and that is loose. Oh dear! The end before the last. You and I were

:27:55. > :27:58.talking about this earlier in the week, he felt he was fading in the

:27:59. > :28:04.last two ends, and he sorted that out after the second game. But it

:28:05. > :28:09.will play an him if he drops the next one short. He really needed to

:28:10. > :28:17.tighten up in the last two ends of the set. Keep his opponent under

:28:18. > :28:22.pressure, he had been in very good positions. He needs this one to

:28:23. > :28:36.arrive. Certainly better, but he has over

:28:37. > :28:40.corrected. Well, I cannot blame him for that. Better to adjust back than

:28:41. > :29:06.just forward. Just needs to hurry to make the

:29:07. > :29:12.double. It looked short all the way. I was watching Stewart and he was

:29:13. > :29:22.trying to encourage it forward. It is a missed opportunity for Stewart

:29:23. > :29:36.Anderson. Forcing Jason into a shot. Instead it is just the draw.

:29:37. > :29:51.Now, Jason, no, he has dropped it. I tell you what Stewart Anderson's got

:29:52. > :29:55.a shot on here. Stewart Anderson, this is interesting, because he has

:29:56. > :29:59.got the draw in. No problem there. He can get another shot. But if he

:30:00. > :30:05.decides to play something different and that is to come through on the

:30:06. > :30:09.backhand for the green bowl, now that is worth four shots. He is

:30:10. > :30:15.already starting to look at it. I can see him. He is starting to look

:30:16. > :30:21.at that. This is occasionally where you don't get two jack-focussed.

:30:22. > :30:25.Because the best he can do on the forehand is to get a double and a

:30:26. > :30:29.double will be good, don't get me wrong, he is only one shot behind.

:30:30. > :30:36.But if he plays the backhand and rests that bowl out for four, he

:30:37. > :30:40.gives himself a nice little buffer where, Jason has to score two shots

:30:41. > :30:45.in the last end. That is why it was so critical that Jason got in with

:30:46. > :30:50.the last delivery. He is going for the backhand.

:30:51. > :30:58.Two options with this. He can still draw a second shot. But if he gets

:30:59. > :31:08.the green bowl with enough weight he will get the four. He is very close

:31:09. > :31:20.to getting. Yes. Has he turn it over enough? That is the question.

:31:21. > :31:37.Jason Greenslade confirming and the marker Sandra McLeish - four shots.

:31:38. > :31:43.Jason Greenslade's final bowl put no pressure on and it allowed Stewart

:31:44. > :31:54.Anderson the opportunity for the shot and boy did he take it.

:31:55. > :32:02.Controlled weight. Lovely turn over. He spotted it. It was always this.

:32:03. > :32:04.It was a two option shot. Just dropping the bowl down was good

:32:05. > :32:09.enough for a double. But pushing it over twice was four. It was one of

:32:10. > :32:15.those where there was no danger and it just goes back again to what I

:32:16. > :32:24.was saying about Jason tightening up that little bit on the last couple

:32:25. > :32:31.of ends and it was a bad mistake. Jason Greenslade needs to win the

:32:32. > :32:37.end. It is the bit about the game I enjoy work, working on the

:32:38. > :32:38.psychological side with some of the players and those I'm working with

:32:39. > :32:54.at the moment. Major events player, working o''en

:32:55. > :33:02.that side of it, the psychological side and the strength and that will

:33:03. > :33:04.to win that you need. Almost all the players have got it. But they can't

:33:05. > :33:20.always apply it at the right time. Always fascinating sports

:33:21. > :33:25.psychology. I think it's a relatively new, nowhere new, I was

:33:26. > :33:31.doing it 30 years ago. The guy working with me in Australia. Close

:33:32. > :33:44.with this. But it is a much bigger part of the game now than it ever

:33:45. > :33:48.was. It is rife across many sports. Here is Jason Greenslade looking to

:33:49. > :33:59.reach his sixth World Bowls tour men's final. This will work it back.

:34:00. > :34:03.Yes, big drawing bowl. Tagger bowl. Here is comes. Good bowl. Well done

:34:04. > :34:06.he has kept his head. He has kept his strength, put away the

:34:07. > :34:17.disappointment of the four the previous end. A little chat with

:34:18. > :34:26.himself. Closed his eyes, had a think about it and said, this isn't

:34:27. > :34:35.over yet. Stewart Anderson will use the time-out here. Just a couple of

:34:36. > :34:42.options. I think it is more the weight than the shot. He has got a

:34:43. > :34:47.shot in there, that's a given. But what he also has available to him is

:34:48. > :34:54.to push the red bowl into position. If he can get that just on the high

:34:55. > :35:04.side and drop it in, that would be good. He can drive it. The options

:35:05. > :35:16.to play weight to it. He has gone for the weight shot. He has taken

:35:17. > :35:27.one away. Good bowl. A good way to reduce it. Match lie.

:35:28. > :35:35.Jason Greenslade just looking to repeat the last bowl. Bring it in.

:35:36. > :35:41.He is on a good line. Will it make it back in time? A bit of work do,

:35:42. > :35:49.but they're big bowls in terms of bias. Yes, drops in. That is good

:35:50. > :35:56.for the double. The difficulty for Stewart here is that, he is going to

:35:57. > :36:00.take his time over this, but he is sitting there with two agains him.

:36:01. > :36:10.He knows Jason has the last bowl. Does he take a risk with bowl on to

:36:11. > :36:13.the bowl? Well that that is what he is looking at. Wes looking on the

:36:14. > :36:17.bowl into bowl. He wants to get that target area. If he takes that he

:36:18. > :36:21.takes the two bowls away. That will be hard for Jace on the force a

:36:22. > :36:29.tie-break. Alternative is he can draw it on the forehand.

:36:30. > :36:39.Going for the runner. What's he got here? Well now. It depends if this

:36:40. > :36:45.green bowl stays on and the jack is in the ditch and not on the respot.

:36:46. > :36:50.Even if it is on the re-spot it is one to green. Yes and he has a

:36:51. > :36:58.mountain of room for the double. Well not the best result on what he

:36:59. > :37:03.was after. Sometime-out will be called. Yes. He has got plenty of

:37:04. > :37:10.time in this one. Imagine making a mistake on the bell in this

:37:11. > :37:22.situation. Unthinkable. He nearly did it before. He has got to control

:37:23. > :37:25.himself. He knows there is a big space to draw in. Sometimes that

:37:26. > :37:37.makes you relax a bit too much. He has got five foot around the

:37:38. > :37:41.jack. Stewart Anderson is not even looking. No, he knows. He would have

:37:42. > :37:52.to fall over on the mat to miss that one. Credit to Jason Greenslade.

:37:53. > :38:42.Stewart Anderson one. Credit to Jason Greenslade.

:38:43. > :38:43.reasonable percentage. You look to see, people think

:38:44. > :40:23.that is not good, because that gives stew Saturday an Ang -- Stewart an

:40:24. > :40:25.angle to lock into the jack or the green bowl. That is not where he

:40:26. > :40:38.wanted it. That given Stewart a massive margin

:40:39. > :40:46.of error. He is on the inside. That is not the angle he wanted. He

:40:47. > :40:51.wanted to be wide of it and get that split. I was watching him and he

:40:52. > :40:52.thought he was close. I think that pulled across quicker than he

:40:53. > :41:27.expected. Unfortunately Jason left him himself

:41:28. > :41:35.with the second bowl in a bit of Bo her. He just has to make something

:41:36. > :41:41.hard for Stewart. There is the re-spot. He is in a good place. The

:41:42. > :41:58.split on the forehand is still good for him.

:41:59. > :42:06.He is really watching this one. Much closer. Is he getting the split

:42:07. > :42:13.right? He has. Not sure if he has run away from it though. Looks like

:42:14. > :42:21.green from here. I think he would have preferred the other split. That

:42:22. > :42:25.was almost guaranteeing everything. One bowl each to play.

:42:26. > :42:35.Jason needs another bowl in to try and draw this. Interesting choice of

:42:36. > :42:41.shots. Stuck to the forehand. I thought he may have moved to the

:42:42. > :42:46.back. Oh, this is a big difference now for Stewart. Jason thought that

:42:47. > :42:54.was very close. Just moved on a little bit. I think Stewart might

:42:55. > :42:59.just decide to go for the bowl here. He can still draw it. But he has had

:43:00. > :43:07.a runner. In fact he has had two runners. We will be staying with the

:43:08. > :43:19.action here in Perth right through the tie-break. After we will join

:43:20. > :43:24.the practice for the Grand Prix. Well it is only practice at the

:43:25. > :43:40.moment. This is much better at the moment.

:43:41. > :43:47.Stewart Anderson has given this one a stop. Is he going to stop? Not

:43:48. > :43:53.sure, he took a long time over that. But he had two runners. It is always

:43:54. > :43:59.hard to get the weight back down again. So confident on the draw. It

:44:00. > :44:01.was a 50/50 shot. Play for the weight or try and draw it. No

:44:02. > :44:05.guarantees on the weight shot either. Jack could have gone through

:44:06. > :44:12.and that would have been against him. It wasn't far away.

:44:13. > :44:20.That is a double advantage now for Jason Greenslade, because he has won

:44:21. > :44:25.the opening end and he also has the last bowl. He also has that feeling

:44:26. > :44:31.that he can afford to take a risk and knowing that he is not going to

:44:32. > :44:38.lose the game. That is a comforting feeling when you're having to play

:44:39. > :44:43.some important bowls. He is just getting himself ready again. It is

:44:44. > :44:48.not a question of getting himself psyched up. It is more calming his

:44:49. > :44:58.heart down and getting the adrenaline under control.

:44:59. > :45:09.One of the semi-finals last year went to tie-break. Brett beat

:45:10. > :45:13.Thomson. We didn't get a tie-break in 2012 or 2013, but they're

:45:14. > :45:22.fascinating, knowing a place in the final is at stake.

:45:23. > :45:30.A very good start. Over, he has dropped over. That is a bit unlucky.

:45:31. > :45:34.That has exposed the jack. The semi-finals are horrible things in

:45:35. > :45:36.many ways. It is awful to lose in a semi-final. You miss out on

:45:37. > :45:49.everything the final has to offer. Now, has he lost both of them? He

:45:50. > :45:57.has. No, one stays on the edge. It is half over. That is vital. That

:45:58. > :46:04.bowl could easily end up the shot. If that had gone off he was in so

:46:05. > :46:09.much trouble. UMPIRE: One inch short. His own bowl is one inch

:46:10. > :46:17.short and the other red one is one inch short of the jack.

:46:18. > :46:29.Jason Greenslade, does he go close, does he go deep?

:46:30. > :46:39.That is good. A good bowl there. Stewart has to go again. If you get

:46:40. > :46:41.that jack, it will go into the ditch and you will be in a wonderful

:46:42. > :46:57.position. That is hard to draw it. Jason's bowl might come into play

:46:58. > :47:02.here as well. Up he comes looking to lift that out. Oh he has got his own

:47:03. > :47:06.on the way through. That is unlucky. That is a horrible result. He took

:47:07. > :47:14.the one out he wanted and that is good, but he has taken the option of

:47:15. > :47:23.the other bowl and as it approaches on the edge there it goes. Jason got

:47:24. > :47:28.the last bowl. Jason Greenslade, if he puts this one on.

:47:29. > :47:34.Stewart Anderson will have little choice. He will have to draw it no

:47:35. > :47:37.matter what. That is why it is important this one gets within a

:47:38. > :47:44.foot or so. He is trying to encourage it, because he knows it is

:47:45. > :47:48.hard. That is far enough away that Stewart Anderson can draw it. No

:47:49. > :47:59.matter where he puts it, Jason will be after it. A time-out coming. He

:48:00. > :48:06.didn't give him a chance to run the jack through. Fascinating. Well, it

:48:07. > :48:12.is down to choice really. The choice is which hand do you draw it on?

:48:13. > :48:18.Backhand, well, the green bowl is slightly in the way. It is beat fab.

:48:19. > :48:21.Forehand is the open hand and it does hold off a bit and the jack is

:48:22. > :48:40.off centre. You could almost put your mortgage

:48:41. > :48:46.on this being close. All or nothing for Stewart Anderson. He has drawn

:48:47. > :48:51.the shot. He stays in the match. Well there are few players in the

:48:52. > :48:57.world that I would rely upon more than Stewart Anderson in that

:48:58. > :49:05.situation. Jason understandably calls a time-out. Look at this.

:49:06. > :49:17.Calmness under pressure. All the way. It is the only bowl on the

:49:18. > :49:19.green for Stewart Anderson. So Jason Greenslade has a shot here to lift

:49:20. > :49:42.it out. Well, he has to drag this. This for the final. Ove, his body

:49:43. > :49:46.language tells me there is something not right about it. But will it get

:49:47. > :49:55.the edge? Will it go there? It has and there is a green bowl right over

:49:56. > :49:59.there. Brilliant performance by Jason Greenslade. What a week for

:50:00. > :50:05.the Welsh man. Stewart Anderson is defeat and Jason Greenslade on the

:50:06. > :50:12.tie-break, brilliant final bowls from both players. Jason Greenslade

:50:13. > :50:14.takes the tie-break 2-0. And takes his place in the Scottish

:50:15. > :50:51.International Open final of 2015. He is looking, he is keeping his eye

:50:52. > :51:15.on it. Oh that is close. He is very close

:51:16. > :51:47.to getting it. Yes. Big smiles for Jason Greenslade,

:51:48. > :51:54.knocking out Stewart Anderson. What a match that was. It was super game.

:51:55. > :51:58.I was watching Jason last bowl and he wasn't sure about it. But he got

:51:59. > :52:03.enough. Fantastic game. Could have gone either way. Jason in the first

:52:04. > :52:07.set was scratchy, but he got into his game in the second and hung on

:52:08. > :52:13.and a was ruthless in that tie-break. . Yes what you get from

:52:14. > :52:17.Jason is that fight. Stewart Anderson was superb. This is the

:52:18. > :52:22.Stewart Anderson we saw a couple of years ago. He was superb. He will go

:52:23. > :52:31.into the next vent feeling confident after this. We have the semi-final

:52:32. > :52:38.today and Greg Harlow and Darren Burnett. Yes will the home crowd get

:52:39. > :52:46.Darren over the line. Greg felt he was a bit off. If he tighten ups

:52:47. > :52:53.fraction it will go all the way. That match is live at quarter to 2.

:52:54. > :52:55.Join us for that if you can. Jason Greenslade is through. Who will join

:52:56. > :52:58.him. Join us then. Join us on BBC One for a truly epic
