:00:42. > :00:46.Welcome to porters, a little later than Scheduled. We're not the semi-

:00:46. > :00:56.finals of the World Indoor Bowls Championships. This afternoon we

:00:56. > :00:58.

:00:58. > :01:02.have a blockbuster in store for all World bowls old guard are rolling

:01:02. > :01:08.back the years. John Price still has a fire and the belly, despite

:01:09. > :01:15.the fact he was world champion two decades ago. It is a long time ago,

:01:15. > :01:20.1990. I was really pleased, I had a few big Mrs in tournaments. I was a

:01:20. > :01:26.nearly man, but I finally needed, and it was a great moment. -- I had

:01:26. > :01:31.a few big Mrs. David Gourlay has had a stellar career, but like him

:01:31. > :01:39.has always struck once at the World Championships, and that is when he

:01:39. > :01:43.was a fresh-faced newcomer. 1996 was the one and only time I won the

:01:43. > :01:47.world title. I entered the competition as a rank outsider. I

:01:47. > :01:53.was a wild card entry, was not expected to do well, but I went on

:01:53. > :01:58.to win the tournament, it was the most amazing experience of my life.

:01:58. > :02:04.Scotland's bowls coach has already claimed one half of the mixed pairs

:02:04. > :02:10.title this week. John prices also enjoying a resurgence. He stopped

:02:10. > :02:13.the clock against Ross Owen in the first round. It seems as if these

:02:13. > :02:17.two have known each other since time began. I have known him,

:02:17. > :02:20.played a couple of big games, and I managed to get over the line

:02:20. > :02:25.against him a couple of years ago in Scotland. I think it will be a

:02:25. > :02:29.good game, I have to play my best game but I have a good chance.

:02:29. > :02:33.Price and I have played a couple of times over the years. He is a tough

:02:33. > :02:39.competitor. He is deaf -- very difficult to beat so I am expecting

:02:39. > :02:42.a tough game. Which of these time travellers can turn back the clock

:02:42. > :02:52.travellers can turn back the clock and journey to the semi-finals?

:02:52. > :02:56.

:02:56. > :03:00.Here is the line-up for the quarter It is John Price and David Gourlay

:03:00. > :03:04.for us this afternoon, and the match is already under way. We are

:03:04. > :03:14.in the 9th of the first set, and David Gourlay has the advantage.

:03:14. > :03:28.

:03:28. > :03:38.Greg Harlow and David Corkill are wide of the target, and John Price

:03:38. > :03:47.

:03:47. > :03:54.sitting down and saying, I have had Price, sitting down on the brink. -

:03:54. > :04:02.- on the rink. To be fair, John has been dead unlucky with his last

:04:02. > :04:07.bowl. David has a reasonable target. Still, a lot of pressure. David

:04:07. > :04:17.Gourlay missed the drive with his third bowl. Most unlike him, he is

:04:17. > :04:22.

:04:22. > :04:32.normally very reliable. A lot of David Gourlay, he will reset

:04:32. > :04:43.

:04:43. > :04:50.That is a marvellous result for David Gourlay, are really good

:04:50. > :05:00.strike on his reliable forehand. He will take a double load of that. --

:05:00. > :05:21.

:05:21. > :05:31.a "of that. -- double out of that. unlucky to have opened ahead. 8-3

:05:31. > :05:36.

:05:36. > :05:43.does not really reflect matt said. after that first set, very

:05:43. > :05:51.interesting bowling, no doubt about it. David Gourlay was edging it all

:05:51. > :06:01.the way through to the last end. John Price played his best end of

:06:01. > :06:39.

:06:39. > :06:47.this match so far. Four actual -- very long time, John Price. David

:06:47. > :06:57.Gourlay not far behind him. 45, again has been at the top level for

:06:57. > :07:11.

:07:11. > :07:21.won his world title in 1990. It was just a matter of time, we knew it

:07:21. > :07:25.

:07:25. > :07:35.would happen. We just do not quite tournaments and that stages one of

:07:35. > :07:52.

:07:52. > :08:02.1 outsider. A very tough first- round match, he came through when

:08:02. > :08:08.

:08:08. > :08:13.think a few people had a couple of shekels on him at 100-1, but no one

:08:13. > :08:16.expected him to win it, Greg. It is very difficult in your first

:08:16. > :08:26.tournament to call the way through and win. It has not been done many

:08:26. > :08:47.

:08:47. > :08:57.relatively easy to draw the short. -- draw the shot. Always easier

:08:57. > :09:20.

:09:20. > :09:30.it would have helped their. Criminal. Any touch on the jack was

:09:30. > :09:39.

:09:39. > :09:49.for a touch for three, misses the touch and slips through the gap and

:09:49. > :10:17.

:10:17. > :10:27.it does not even count. The line is All about pace. I tell you, it

:10:27. > :10:32.

:10:32. > :10:42.needed to sit. Then the reaction along with his daughter are season-

:10:42. > :10:48.ticket holders for Swansea City. They are doing very well. Great

:10:48. > :10:58.football fans. His daughter has always enjoyed going to the

:10:58. > :10:58.

:10:58. > :13:24.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:13:24. > :13:34.leaving an inch for John to try and opportunity for David known. -- for

:13:34. > :13:42.

:13:42. > :13:49.John is looking at the angles in case he wants to hit this. It looks

:13:49. > :13:53.to be sitting next, doesn't it? does, if you get it right, it all

:13:53. > :14:01.depends on the ankles. He is coming down for another look. Will he

:14:01. > :14:08.aimed for his own? Yes, I think he will aim for his middle read. --

:14:08. > :14:18.middle red. The Jack will almost certainly spring, when it goes, we

:14:18. > :14:22.

:14:22. > :14:32.two down, will it be risky to plough into his own two, or safer

:14:32. > :14:45.

:14:45. > :14:54.unlucky. Very unlucky, he hit the target area. You will be further

:14:54. > :14:59.away on occasions and get better results than that. I do think it

:14:59. > :15:03.was probably a forehand runner, but I know he prefers the backhand,

:15:03. > :15:13.that is probably why he chose the backhand. He hit the target well

:15:13. > :15:13.

:15:13. > :16:41.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:16:41. > :16:51.shots in this. Four shots to David Gourlay. He has been punished

:16:51. > :16:51.

:16:51. > :18:01.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:18:01. > :18:11.their first bowls. They will hope to make a correction with their

:18:11. > :18:27.

:18:27. > :18:34.well on this event so far. He is a happy boy, the way he has been

:18:34. > :18:44.playing. We will see him later again today against Jason

:18:44. > :18:51.

:18:51. > :18:54.Darren Burnett, another Scot who is going well. He put out to the

:18:54. > :19:01.Scottish champion last night. It was a very strange game, Robert

:19:01. > :19:08.Paxton. Robert Paxton from England, who won the Scottish-English

:19:08. > :19:14.International Open. He lost the second set 13-0, having not scored

:19:14. > :19:19.for 10 consecutive ends, then won the tie-break 2-0. It is a strange

:19:19. > :19:23.game, Greg. I had a chat with Darren, he said that last night. He

:19:24. > :19:29.is still having massive problems with his tooth. He said every time

:19:29. > :19:39.he bent forward massive pains. He just wanted to get rid of the bowl.

:19:39. > :19:39.

:19:39. > :20:23.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:20:23. > :20:33.blue. Brian Porter beside her, the Great attempt. John is puffing his

:20:33. > :21:02.

:21:02. > :21:12.cheeks, and it looks like a strongly biased ball. -- biased

:21:12. > :21:38.

:21:38. > :21:41.bowl. He does not like St bowls. -- be too disappointed. David Gourlay

:21:41. > :21:51.wants to keep things nice and tight all the way through to the latter

:21:51. > :21:57.

:21:57. > :22:07.championship, with draws opening up as a lot of favourites drop by the

:22:07. > :22:07.

:22:07. > :23:00.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:23:00. > :23:10.that hurt the opposition. It is very rare we get to a stage where

:23:10. > :23:10.

:23:10. > :23:54.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:23:54. > :24:01.there are only three players and the jack was good. He has have

:24:01. > :24:06.covered the backhand shot for John Price. -- almost covered. He can

:24:07. > :24:16.still make it back, but not as easily. He may be forced on to the

:24:17. > :24:17.

:24:17. > :25:10.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:25:10. > :25:16.forehand. Price gives a shake of John will be looking at all the

:25:16. > :25:20.angles to see if there is any murdered in attacking this. He has

:25:20. > :25:25.two bowls on the jack, but there does not seen anything set up to

:25:25. > :25:31.get the Jack going in that direction. It is not ideal, but it

:25:31. > :25:41.-- if it is only one shot, he might be tempted to aim for the green

:25:41. > :25:41.

:25:42. > :25:45.bowl. Yes, he might be able to hit the bowl away. Also, if he is a

:25:45. > :25:52.little wide he might be on his own bowl, he might get off the screen

:25:52. > :25:57.one, and come across. It is not ideal, it is not perfect. The ankle

:25:57. > :26:03.is still bringing him on to the jack. He has to be tempted. I think

:26:03. > :26:12.so. It -- even if he gets the green bowl solid, he will not be much

:26:12. > :26:22.worse. It is a tough call. Parents know clear cut shot available.

:26:22. > :26:40.

:26:40. > :26:50.think he has been pretty good with in the corner, unfortunately for

:26:50. > :26:51.

:26:51. > :26:58.him about three metres away. Not a toucher, both of those ended up in

:26:58. > :27:06.the ditch and were taken away. The jack is just in front of David

:27:07. > :27:11.Gourlay, as he stepped away. It is just inside the peg on the back.

:27:11. > :27:21.David is asking how many second bowls he has. He is thinking of

:27:21. > :27:29.driving the shot out. At 4-2 up, I thought you would just go down and

:27:29. > :27:37.draw the shot. I am very surprised at that. If he has three a seconds,

:27:37. > :27:47.he could take the bowl out. Really, that is a draw for one for me. I

:27:47. > :27:57.think he is shaping up for it. He is psyching himself up for it. I

:27:57. > :27:59.

:27:59. > :28:09.think his team manager would suggest his player draws the shot.

:28:09. > :28:21.

:28:21. > :28:31.It is such an easy draw. Don't look comes. That's the right play.

:28:31. > :28:33.

:28:33. > :28:38.Straight forward single. And that's the right shot. He's so attacked

:28:38. > :28:48.minded and he did fancy taking it out for three, but he knew if he

:28:48. > :29:26.

:29:26. > :29:36.missed he was gifting John a one think he can let this set drift any

:29:36. > :30:00.

:30:01. > :30:10.fantastic! A wonderful reply. Just remaineding David four lay that he

:30:11. > :30:20.

:30:20. > :30:30.is capable of causing him trouble. as his first and he will win the

:30:30. > :30:44.

:30:44. > :30:48.an edge? Just under. Just a few inches away, but a good bowl.

:30:48. > :30:57.had a smile on his face there, he knew he was just a couple of inches

:30:57. > :31:07.short. But he knows he's got great position. Any ideas John? He has no

:31:07. > :31:07.

:31:07. > :31:15.position at all. Possibly forehand and try and drop the foot past and

:31:16. > :31:25.get a position in. Very difficult for John this. Swapped to the

:31:26. > :31:38.

:31:38. > :31:43.is decent. That's not too bad. good. Perhaps gone a bit too much.

:31:43. > :31:50.I'm a bit surprised he was looking at this in the forehand, but it

:31:50. > :31:57.will work either side. If he wants to be tidy it is a backhand draw

:31:57. > :32:07.just to Nurdle it through. He was looking at the forehand drive.

:32:07. > :32:19.

:32:19. > :32:27.Looks like he is shaping up the red bowl away. Well he's still

:32:27. > :32:32.watching. A bit tentative for weight. I'm surprised at that.

:32:32. > :32:38.Thought he would have had another yard or two or that. John lays the

:32:38. > :32:48.shot, but it has nowhere to go. Can't afford to draw in himself,

:32:48. > :33:02.

:33:02. > :33:07.because any touch would give it time. John, what are you doing? Yes,

:33:07. > :33:16.he wanted a bit less than his second delivery and it is a bit of

:33:16. > :33:26.a wasted bowl for David Gourlay, he is good at these turn over shots.

:33:26. > :33:27.

:33:27. > :33:32.He has so many options, he is struggling to pick which one. He is

:33:32. > :33:42.going for the forehand again. Probably the same line as the last

:33:42. > :33:52.

:33:52. > :33:57.interested in this. Too solid a connection. Not sure if John will

:33:57. > :34:05.even bother with his last bowl. There is probably just room on the

:34:05. > :34:11.forehand. David said, do you want your bowl? He said yes. That is why,

:34:11. > :34:15.sometimes you have to walk away and say that is fair enough. I will

:34:15. > :34:22.take the single. There is Robert Weale watching. Before the match we

:34:22. > :34:28.had three players putting their stickers on, Jason Greenslade,

:34:28. > :34:35.Robert Weale and John Price. Those three have dominated Welsh bowls

:34:35. > :34:45.for 25 years. Young players coming through of course, but it has been

:34:45. > :34:52.the three of them. Slightly before that, well about that time as well

:34:52. > :34:58.was Steve Rees, who is John Price's old partner in the pairs. But

:34:58. > :35:07.Wealey will be happy. He is doing well. Another warm looking jacket.

:35:07. > :35:14.He has got the glasses on now. Looking very academic there.

:35:14. > :35:19.will not enjoy that. Checking the racing results! The old Silver Fox!

:35:20. > :35:29.Doesn't like to be seen with the glasses on, does he? Another bit of

:35:29. > :35:34.an opportunity to wind him up. The fourth person of the great Webb

:35:34. > :35:44.players over the last two or -- Welsh players over the last two or

:35:44. > :35:44.

:35:44. > :36:55.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:36:55. > :37:05.bowl. That would put the pressure finding dead pace. Any weight on

:37:05. > :37:14.

:37:14. > :37:21.will drift past. Is he going to drop in? David's taking a moment.

:37:21. > :37:28.He will be happy with the answer. One to green. And he knows if he

:37:28. > :37:38.can just drop round his own bowl, certainly he will be in charge of

:37:38. > :37:44.

:37:44. > :37:52.made the gap. Oh! Well when you make a gap like that, you sort of

:37:52. > :38:01.think to yourself, just maybe, maybe this might be my day. A big

:38:01. > :38:06.moment in the match now. 5-3 down on the score board, two down on the

:38:06. > :38:11.end. He's looking at the runner again. There are some good

:38:11. > :38:20.connections this time. I can't glaim blame him. I think he thought

:38:20. > :38:24.he was close with the previous bowl. John's got all the position behind.

:38:24. > :38:34.Looking to run into the two greens and get a touch on to the jack.

:38:34. > :38:54.

:38:54. > :39:00.going to get the result? Oh that was unlucky. He has pushed his own

:39:00. > :39:10.bowls out of the head. That's made it worse. Still two green, but it's

:39:10. > :39:23.

:39:23. > :39:29.left David Gourlay a chance. treble. That is what you do when

:39:29. > :39:37.you put the pressure on - force opponents into making errors. David

:39:37. > :39:47.Gourlay's extremely good at that. Yes, that is No 3. That is the

:39:47. > :40:07.

:40:07. > :40:11.and co-ordinator for Bowls Scotland, following a bit of a disas aer the

:40:11. > :40:16.they had at Delhi in the common wealth games, where their team

:40:16. > :40:23.didn't do well. -- disaster. He has been appointed not only to help

:40:24. > :40:29.with a variety of coaching and mentoring roles, but to bring that

:40:29. > :40:33.element of credibility to the post and to the role. The confidence of

:40:33. > :40:39.knowing the players and their strengths and weaknesses and of

:40:39. > :40:45.course their all know David, which helps. -- they all know David,

:40:45. > :40:48.which helps. I expect them to do well in Glasgow at the next

:40:48. > :40:58.Commonwealth Games. John Price himself has a development role

:40:58. > :41:02.

:41:02. > :41:12.within Wales, a part-time role to qualified people for those

:41:12. > :41:12.

:41:12. > :42:13.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 145 seconds

:42:13. > :42:20.David. The road is fantastic. The weight looks pretty good. That's

:42:21. > :42:28.the winner. Yes that's a good one too. Couldn't have played that any

:42:28. > :42:34.better. Hid the jack, hid his bowl. John price in heaps of problems

:42:34. > :42:39.here now. He's so good at the recovery shot, David Gourlay. Plays

:42:39. > :42:47.the game really well. Good attacking bowler. His forehand in

:42:47. > :42:57.particular. I can only see one shot available for John, that is the

:42:57. > :43:22.

:43:22. > :43:28.forehand draw and try and move the Just over. Can't blame him wanting

:43:28. > :43:38.to reach of course. Fpblt great try. Now David Gourlay can add another

:43:38. > :44:13.

:44:13. > :44:16.on to the bottom red second shot straightened them up and possibly

:44:16. > :44:20.closed down the forehand and once again another bowl is in the way

:44:20. > :44:28.for John Price. He is looking at the forehand strike, which is a

:44:28. > :44:33.single bowl of his into the two green. The thing is now John price,

:44:33. > :44:37.strike the open red bowl, take the two reds away for one. Can I not

:44:38. > :44:47.see how he can get any more than one out of this end. But he must

:44:48. > :44:49.

:44:49. > :44:54.score this end to stand any chance. Got the deepest bowl as well. He

:44:54. > :45:04.needs a good strike and a good bit of fortune. This is a tough one I

:45:04. > :45:11.

:45:12. > :45:18.It wasn't too far away, but David Gourlay still scores a single. Took

:45:18. > :45:23.one away. It is a difficult challenge now for John Price, 9-3

:45:23. > :45:29.behind with two ends to go. David Gourlay has been very consistent in

:45:29. > :45:33.this second set. He's kept the pressure on John Price. To be

:45:33. > :45:38.honest if you would wave the white flag, John would be waving it.

:45:38. > :45:47.There is a few hits that haven't gone right, but that is inevitable

:45:47. > :45:57.when you're chasing the game. You sort of feel that it is sometimes

:45:57. > :46:33.

:46:33. > :46:38.John won't give up. It is still on Johnny, you have to go out

:46:38. > :46:45.fighting. A little shake of the head. But I have a lot of

:46:45. > :46:55.admiration for David Gourlay for the way he goes about his business.

:46:55. > :47:04.

:47:04. > :47:14.A very tough competitor, a thinker at this and move the jack back. He

:47:14. > :47:21.

:47:21. > :47:27.is not going to score a three where have liked. That was played with a

:47:27. > :47:37.view to keeping the bowl on the rink. Wouldn't afford to risk the

:47:37. > :47:54.

:47:54. > :47:59.bowl in the rink. David will just still available to John Price if he

:47:59. > :48:09.can make the gap between the two green balls. Yes that is all he has

:48:09. > :48:11.

:48:11. > :48:21.position, David would do well to match those two. He will split the

:48:53. > :48:58.

:48:58. > :49:04.get into the others. Well David Gourlay, no doubt deserved that win.

:49:04. > :49:10.He was just too strong on the day for John Price from Wales. The 45-

:49:10. > :49:13.year-old from Glasgow was very consistent. Took the first set 8-3,

:49:13. > :49:17.takes the second set very comfortably and it was one of those

:49:17. > :49:24.things for John Price, he happened to meet David Gourlay when he was

:49:24. > :49:34.playing some of his best stuff. Interesting game. Good to see

:50:03. > :50:11.there's the jack bouncing out and that saves the first set. Gets the

:50:11. > :50:18.double. And David Gourlay's got an opportunity for the big count on

:50:28. > :50:37.

:50:37. > :50:42.David gourlly was too consistent for John on the day. RISHI PERSAD:

:50:42. > :50:47.John, looking at those stats, they told the story, you only won a

:50:47. > :50:51.third of the ends that is because your opponent was on fire? Yes I

:50:51. > :50:56.thought David played better. I couldn't get in at the start and I

:50:56. > :50:59.couldn't get my first bowl. But he always had the edge. You must be

:50:59. > :51:05.pleased with what you have done this week? Yes my form has been

:51:05. > :51:09.good. I'm disappointed, but it is something to work on. Always

:51:09. > :51:14.looking ahead. David, back in the semi final here? How does that feel

:51:14. > :51:19.It is amazing. It has been a long time. I knew it was going to be a

:51:19. > :51:22.tough game. Maybe we didn't play as well as we could. But just happy to

:51:22. > :51:26.get through. I think you have come into this tournament saying you

:51:26. > :51:31.perhaps didn't have the ideal pripration. But your practice here

:51:31. > :51:36.has been getting better. -- preparation. Do you think you're

:51:36. > :51:41.playing better every round. Every game you play helps you. I have

:51:41. > :51:47.been here two weeks and been on almost every day. Having won the

:51:47. > :51:53.tournament now a long time ago, what chances of this long weight

:51:53. > :51:59.for another ending? I'm taking as they say, each game at a time. The

:51:59. > :52:02.guys who are left in, they're top class bowlers. So it will be

:52:02. > :52:06.difficult. Well done. Commiserations to John Price. Hs

:52:06. > :52:13.out, but David is through to the semi final. We have the next

:52:13. > :52:16.quarter final coming up on the red button at 10 past 3 this afternoon

:52:16. > :52:20.between Wayne hog and Jason Greenslade. But we have time for

:52:20. > :52:26.the first quarter final that took place earlier today. That was

:52:26. > :52:31.between the former champion Andy Thomson and the man who beat Greg

:52:31. > :52:40.Harlow and that was nbgy Brett. We pick this up after they shared the

:55:07. > :55:12.on to it? Oh yes, he has indeed. That's the single he needs. That

:55:12. > :55:22.was a good adjustment, that's not easy to do. Weight and line on that

:57:14. > :57:19.that is not good enough. It has been a scratchy game. I actually

:57:20. > :57:24.felt Nicky played very well in the first set, he dominated. The second

:57:24. > :57:31.set has been scratchy, as you say. It has brought Andy back into the

:57:31. > :57:39.game. The tie-breaks so far have been scratchy, as well, to be

:57:39. > :57:46.honest. Nicky had full command of the first set up to the sixth end,

:59:29. > :59:35.And it is a toucher. I expected to be close with this one. Running the

:59:35. > :59:43.bowl at the jack. He has got it perfect. The reaction was very

:59:43. > :59:51.positive, as well. That will be the end of that particular game. There

:59:51. > :59:58.is a live bowl on the green, and I think he has forgotten that. He has

:04:22. > :04:26.we cannot see, but it looks second on the screen. He needed a

:04:26. > :04:32.direction on the bowl or the jack to stop them. I think he thought he

:07:15. > :07:16.

:07:16. > :07:21.World No. 7 Robert Weale might be a dark horse for the tournament. He

:07:21. > :07:25.certainly has the pedigree to get past the winning post. So far, he

:07:25. > :07:30.has already made the pairs final with Jason Greenslade, but they

:07:30. > :07:35.were beaten in the final furlong by Scottish thoroughbreds Alex

:07:35. > :07:42.Marshall and Paul Foster. Robert Weale saw off Simon Skelton for the

:07:42. > :07:47.second year running. He is now into the semi-finals. I live in Hereford

:07:47. > :07:55.at the moment, due to work, but I play all my bowls in Wales. I

:07:55. > :07:59.travel back to Wales, that is my home. My passions outside of bowls

:07:59. > :08:04.would be football, I am a massive Wolverhampton supporters. I get up

:08:04. > :08:12.there when I can, when the bowls does not get in the way. I love

:08:12. > :08:17.watching the team. And would like to have a little flutter on the

:08:17. > :08:22.horses, as well. I go to the races when we have local meetings, I

:08:22. > :08:25.travel around a little, I watched other meetings when I can come at

:08:26. > :08:33.Chepstow and the Welsh National. I was lucky enough to pick the winner

:08:33. > :08:38.this year. Bowls is massive to me. I first got into the game because

:08:38. > :08:44.my father started playing. I actually started playing the same

:08:44. > :08:48.night as my father did, and it has rolled on from there. I have had

:08:48. > :08:58.good success. It is a massive part good success. It is a massive part

:08:58. > :09:05.of my life, without it I don't know My main achievements in the game

:09:05. > :09:11.would beat the world indoor singles championship. That was 2,000,

:09:11. > :09:18.definitely the pinnacle. Outdoors, I have probably had more success,

:09:18. > :09:23.at the Commonwealth Games I picked up a couple of gold medals. That is

:09:23. > :09:30.really important to me. It is important my family play bowls, as

:09:30. > :09:37.well. My brother has been fortunate enough to win 7 National fours with

:09:37. > :09:41.the boys in Wales. The man standing in his way is Darren Burnett. Last

:09:41. > :09:46.night he put out the Scottish Open champion, Robert Paxton. Robert

:09:46. > :09:50.Weale is in fine form himself and will be confident he can pick his

:09:50. > :09:55.spot in the semi-finals. ambition would be to go as far as I

:09:55. > :10:00.can. I goal in every year thinking I can go all the way. This year is

:10:00. > :10:10.no different. Touch wood, I can play my best bowls, put people

:10:10. > :10:11.

:10:11. > :10:18.And you can see how Robert Weale get on against Darren Burnett in

:10:18. > :10:20.the quarter-finals in our the quarter-finals in our

:10:38. > :10:43.have more or less wiped out the last decade, that is not a bad

:10:43. > :10:48.thing, it shows there is plenty of talent left. Form on this rink is

:10:48. > :10:51.extremely important when it comes to the pressure moments. Yes,

:10:51. > :10:56.especially when you think of people like Andy Thomson coming through.

:10:56. > :11:03.He was great today, but he was gritty. Robert Weale, a dark horse,

:11:03. > :11:08.maybe. Andy Thomson really got over the line when he maybe shouldn't

:11:08. > :11:13.have. Robert Weale is always a hard competitor. David Gourlay was

:11:13. > :11:16.playing very well and consistently and knocked out John Price and a

:11:16. > :11:20.consistent and did away in terms of the quality of play. David, thank

:11:20. > :11:25.you for your time. Another wonderful day of action here at
