:00:23. > :00:34.Welcome back to BBC Three, we have a three sporting spectacular. We will

:00:35. > :00:39.be on the River, quite a few people making their way down there, for the

:00:40. > :00:46.music. We will tell you exactly what will be coming up. Let's get into

:00:47. > :01:06.the live sport straightaway. We have the Hydro, the Armadillo, and we

:01:07. > :01:24.have DS -- the judo. A bronze medal match. Sally Conway, of Scotland.

:01:25. > :01:31.One of the better transition people. Surprisingly, she lost in the

:01:32. > :01:42.semifinal. Credit to Fletcher. She will want to put it to rights. This

:01:43. > :01:48.is a women on a mission. I would not want to be in any position against

:01:49. > :01:57.her right now. Usually a lovely lady, of smiles, and jubilate

:01:58. > :02:06.shouldn't. No way, no how. -- jubilation. She will not be happy,

:02:07. > :02:39.late score to get knocked out. Credit to maiden Fletcher. -- Megan

:02:40. > :02:45.Fletcher. Huidrom wants to keep upright stance, do not get bent

:02:46. > :02:56.over. Do not drop. She does not need to drop. Doesn't need a penalty

:02:57. > :02:58.against her at all. Conway goes in. If she can snap the grip off, she

:02:59. > :03:23.would drop underneath. She is not in a hugging mood. She

:03:24. > :03:32.was looking for two stopping the clock, she wants to show the crowd

:03:33. > :03:41.what she can do. Conway has her grip. Is she going to drop

:03:42. > :03:50.underneath? That is what she's setting up for. Trying to get her

:03:51. > :03:56.way in for the drop shoulder throw. I feel a second penalty for

:03:57. > :04:02.Huidrom, she is not moving at all. Not giving any movement. We are

:04:03. > :04:11.looking for positive intention. She gets a second one, Sally Conway hast

:04:12. > :04:19.to leave the tominagi, the last one did not move Huidrom at all. That is

:04:20. > :04:27.what she was trying to set up. She looks a little bit flat. I don't

:04:28. > :04:34.know whether you think the same, but she does not look unusual form. A

:04:35. > :04:42.lot of pressure on Sally. Home crowd, she is expectation, she doing

:04:43. > :04:48.lot of pressure on Sally. Home tour. It is a big load to take on

:04:49. > :04:54.her shoulders. It is, not to forget that two weeks ago she was competing

:04:55. > :05:01.in a grand slam tournament, the week before that, a Grand Prix. It is

:05:02. > :05:10.heavy. Straight back into training when she gets home. Probably part of

:05:11. > :05:18.the way into a training system rate for the -- ready for the World

:05:19. > :05:25.Championships. That is not the place to be. Here we go, Sally Conway

:05:26. > :05:35.looking to open her opponent up. She will go on to the arms. She will

:05:36. > :05:42.pull that back. Latching on. She needs to let the head come up. She

:05:43. > :05:52.will roll again. She will get a bit more momentum. Needs to get the head

:05:53. > :05:57.down. The referee says Lego. She did very well to stay out of that. That

:05:58. > :06:01.is a very strong manoeuvre for Conway. The pressure on the elbow

:06:02. > :06:17.must have been immense. Conway trying to find the way

:06:18. > :06:26.underneath Huidrom. She will get another penalty, it will be three.

:06:27. > :06:33.She hast to know where she is, take the fight to the middle. One more,

:06:34. > :06:42.it will be all over. Disqualification for Huidrom. I am

:06:43. > :06:44.sure that Sally would like to get a score, not winning by

:06:45. > :06:47.disqualification. sure that Sally would like to get a

:06:48. > :06:54.score, not winning Never a nice way to win. You train to do good judo,

:06:55. > :07:16.pretty judo. Going for the big throws. Nothing like feeling and

:07:17. > :07:25.ippon. -- feeling an ippon. I don't think I have seen the Indian girl

:07:26. > :07:30.attack. There is one. She has been keeping us on the edge of our seats.

:07:31. > :07:46.18 seconds left. Ten seconds, she has to come

:07:47. > :08:02.forwards. Huidrom starting to attack. Conway does it.

:08:03. > :08:05.APPLAUSE. Another medal for Scotland, it will

:08:06. > :08:10.not be what she wants. She needs to go back, carry on with her

:08:11. > :08:16.preparations for the World Championships, that is what she's

:08:17. > :08:24.aiming for. A bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games, on a bad day.

:08:25. > :08:29.Sally Conway, waving to the crowd, the crowd appreciate this lady. This

:08:30. > :08:45.is one very special lady. She is such a hard worker, the

:08:46. > :08:52.hardest trainer I have seen. Will not give an inch, keeps going until

:08:53. > :08:58.the job is done. I watch her on training camps, you are absolutely

:08:59. > :08:59.right, it is nonstop work. Dust twice as much as most of the people

:09:00. > :09:02.on the training camps. right, it is nonstop work. Dust

:09:03. > :09:12.twice as much as most of Blowing the case there. -- kiss.

:09:13. > :09:20.Bronze for Sally Conway, could have been gold or silver, she lost to

:09:21. > :09:23.Fletcher by Golden score. That allowed Fletcher to go on into the

:09:24. > :09:38.gold medal match. We will show you that now. Megan Fletcher could be

:09:39. > :09:51.leading with the gold medal. She takes on de Villiers of New Zealand.

:09:52. > :10:32.She beat the Canadian girl in the first round. Megan Fletcher, of

:10:33. > :10:47.England. Looking so determined. There we have Miss Fletcher. Nothing

:10:48. > :10:59.a little bit of superglue won't fix. Obviously she has a very good

:11:00. > :11:13.Doctor. Six times OCR and champion. De Villiers wearing blue. Megan

:11:14. > :11:23.Fletcher from England wearing white. Her coach was one of the most famous

:11:24. > :11:29.British coaches. That is the Pinewood role, she is trying it

:11:30. > :11:34.there. A lot to learn this at a very early stage, she is trying the

:11:35. > :11:42.second part of it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It is a junior

:11:43. > :11:47.move but it is used by a lot of seniors as well. They win at

:11:48. > :11:56.hundreds, if not thousands of contests with it. One of the reasons

:11:57. > :12:01.is the cars it is drilled. De Villiers with the flop and drop. She

:12:02. > :12:06.will tie up the middle section, control the head and she will go.

:12:07. > :12:14.Once she starts the movement, she will start to climb over. Couldn't

:12:15. > :12:20.quite get the leverage there. De Villiers hast to step up her game.

:12:21. > :12:25.She is letting Fletcher move her all over the matter. It looks like she

:12:26. > :12:31.is going for it but it is desperation. You have got to hunt

:12:32. > :12:37.for it. It is flop and drop from De Villiers at the moment, leaving

:12:38. > :12:44.herself open. Fletcher has to do the moves her cells. -- herself. Just a

:12:45. > :12:51.little bit of the pace at the moment. De Villiers is just tooting

:12:52. > :13:09.her before she wants to attack. Here she goes again. Fletcher now.

:13:10. > :13:14.Narrowly missed a yuko score. She flopped once too often and you

:13:15. > :13:20.cannot do that with Megan Fletcher. Megan Fletcher holding on for gold.

:13:21. > :13:27.Seconds to go. Hast to hold for 20 seconds and it is all over. She did

:13:28. > :13:33.not give up on that. The New Zealander absolutely going until the

:13:34. > :13:41.bell sounded. I love seeing that. All too often, once in a ground

:13:42. > :13:47.hold, forget it, it is all over. Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

:13:48. > :13:53.However, she went right to the last second. Didn't give up but credit to

:13:54. > :14:00.Megan Fletcher. Cheers for the Commonwealth champion. What a day

:14:01. > :14:06.for her. A little cut doesn't mean anything now. What cut! A fourth

:14:07. > :14:18.gold medal for England. This is the turn. Basic turn, the leg goes over

:14:19. > :14:23.and she secures the hold. De Villiers never gave up, she didn't

:14:24. > :14:31.want to give up on that. She has got the silver medal, though. New

:14:32. > :14:40.Zealand must be proud. Two silvers and a bronze medal so far. That gold

:14:41. > :14:50.medal in lewd is them. We have still got five categories to come

:14:51. > :14:57.tomorrow. -- eludes them. She is a geography teacher. She is going to

:14:58. > :15:05.have a lot of kids, I'm sure she had a big following. -- happy kids.

:15:06. > :15:12.Congratulations. You got a massive ovation from the crowd. You are

:15:13. > :15:15.Commonwealth champion. It is fantastic. I managed to beat the

:15:16. > :15:19.British number one and it is the first time I have beaten her. Such

:15:20. > :15:26.an amazing achievement and then to go on and win gold. We saw the tears

:15:27. > :15:30.after the semifinal, this time you are beaming from ear to ear. I was

:15:31. > :15:35.so emotional after the semifinal because it means so much to me. I

:15:36. > :15:42.couldn't hold it in. I am so happy tonight. To be finally done. A

:15:43. > :15:47.number of reasons that you wanted to make sure you were on top of the

:15:48. > :15:52.podium. There is a lot of reasons. It means a lot to my family. Thank

:15:53. > :15:58.you to them for everything they have done. The Pinewood guys are watching

:15:59. > :16:08.at home. Anything you want to say to them? Thank you for everything and

:16:09. > :16:13.love you loads. Thank you goodbye. Congratulations to Megan Fletcher.

:16:14. > :16:24.More medals behind us. Introduce yourself please. Family Rooney. I am

:16:25. > :16:28.Keith. There is method to this. I am going to explain where you can watch

:16:29. > :16:38.all of the sport. The weightlifting has been taking place in the

:16:39. > :16:42.Armadillo. It is fantastic the way that the tension builds up. Five

:16:43. > :16:48.world records, sorry, Commonwealth records, so it was fantastic. What

:16:49. > :16:55.did you enjoy about the weightlifting? Seeing the gold

:16:56. > :17:02.medals being one. Watching them lift the weights. It is fun to watch them

:17:03. > :17:10.lift those big heavyweights. What about your brother? Watching the

:17:11. > :17:14.people do the weightlifting. Do you think it has inspired you to be a

:17:15. > :17:22.weightlifter of the future? Don't know. He is not sure. We shall stop

:17:23. > :17:27.bothering you. Thank you very much know. He is not sure. We shall stop

:17:28. > :17:29.to the family Rooney. This know. He is not sure. We shall stop

:17:30. > :17:35.else is on and where you can watch it tonight. The best of the swimming

:17:46. > :17:54.Renwick and Liam Tancock. On the red button, netball and Northern Ireland

:17:55. > :18:02.taking on Jamaica. On interrupted netball on the red button. Lawn

:18:03. > :18:08.bowls, Scotland against South Africa in the men's pairs. Alex Marshall

:18:09. > :18:18.has a chance to win a third gold of his career. Squash, the latest from

:18:19. > :18:25.the arena. The world number one in action in round 16 for her. Also,

:18:26. > :18:32.all of the boxing online. We will bring you the latest and the best of

:18:33. > :18:39.the action from the home nations. In terms of your catchall. Finally, the

:18:40. > :18:49.weightlifting. Get to the BBC sport website. Streams of every single

:18:50. > :18:53.sport there. You can be your own channel controller. Like being sat

:18:54. > :19:03.in a room with 15 televisions. If you are a fan of Doctor Who, are you

:19:04. > :19:09.a fan? Not the best people to sell it to. Lots of people are fans of

:19:10. > :19:15.Doctor Who, if you are one of them, make sure you are watching BBC Three

:19:16. > :19:19.later. We have a surprise coming your way. We would like you to get

:19:20. > :19:32.involved throughout the evening. If you have any comments, questions or

:19:33. > :19:47.moans, use the hashtag. We will be doing some snack news later. Small

:19:48. > :19:53.bites to keep you going. We are going to bring you some netball, it

:19:54. > :19:57.is uninterrupted on the red button. Northern Ireland lost their opening

:19:58. > :20:11.game yesterday. Neil Mann went to meet the Jamaican side who have been

:20:12. > :20:19.a shining light. Welcome to the sunshine village, home of Jamaica's

:20:20. > :20:27.sunshine girls. There is sunshine all over the world. How did you get

:20:28. > :20:32.the nickname sunshine girls? We sat down and thought about it. There is

:20:33. > :20:38.the Calypso girls, the reggae girls and we came upon the name sunshine

:20:39. > :20:44.girls and it has worked. How popular is netball in Jamaica? It is the

:20:45. > :20:48.number-1 sport for women and girls in this country. In 1963, the

:20:49. > :20:55.government made the national sport women. It was brought to the islands

:20:56. > :21:06.and we have adopted it and we have done very well, I think. Wouldn't

:21:07. > :21:19.you say? OK, come around here. This is Nicole. She has the attitude.

:21:20. > :21:27.This is Nicole from the country. This is her video analysis. Doing

:21:28. > :21:33.some work on his computer. This is one of our rooms. I share with my

:21:34. > :21:59.team-mate Nicole and my team-mate Denny 's. We are the sunshine girls,

:22:00. > :22:03.thank you for coming. -- Denise. In Jamaica they don't have a lot of

:22:04. > :22:10.facilities that we take for granted in Australia. I have been to New

:22:11. > :22:15.Zealand and England many times and they don't have the facilities that

:22:16. > :22:20.we have. They are outside on the hard surfaces in the heat. They do

:22:21. > :22:31.it tough here but they do it well. You guys would be appearing to punch

:22:32. > :22:33.above your weight. We are still competing against top teams and

:22:34. > :22:44.showing we have something to offer as well. Tell others about the

:22:45. > :22:51.coach? That the players love her, she has done it in a different way

:22:52. > :22:59.to the way our teams have been coached. We play the boys on a

:23:00. > :23:10.Friday night. When I was coaching the Aussie team, we were working our

:23:11. > :23:17.buts off. If they put their minds to and stay focused, they can do

:23:18. > :23:24.anything. What is your aspiration in the Commonwealth Games? We are going

:23:25. > :23:34.there to make a difference. We are setting the standard for Jamaicans.

:23:35. > :23:40.We are looking for a total team effort to get the ball to our main

:23:41. > :23:48.shooters. We are relying on them to put the work in. Nobody comes here

:23:49. > :23:56.not wanting a gold medal. It is more of a need than a want. What would it

:23:57. > :24:03.mean for your career if you were to do well at the Commonwealth Games?

:24:04. > :24:12.As a senior, I would like to join a team. Is it a dream to go to

:24:13. > :24:16.Australia or New Zealand and play? It is every netball players dream to

:24:17. > :24:21.do that. It is where I would like to go. Some of the girls are from

:24:22. > :24:26.challenging backgrounds and situations. Do you sometimes worry

:24:27. > :24:32.what they would be doing if it was not for netball? I wouldn't want to

:24:33. > :24:40.say what they would be doing on-air! I am very proud of them. We

:24:41. > :24:48.have got girls at high school or University, graduating, they are in

:24:49. > :24:54.careers. If they work hard on court, we have converted ourselves to work

:24:55. > :25:06.as hard off court to facilitate their on court performance. That is

:25:07. > :25:14.a lovely piece about team Jamaica. They are playing right in the middle

:25:15. > :25:22.of your shot in VS ECC. Between the Hydro, the round thing on the left

:25:23. > :25:36.and the Clyde Auditorium, known as the Armadillo for obvious reasons.

:25:37. > :25:43.Netball requires determination in defence, agility in attack, and

:25:44. > :25:48.skilful shooting. Each team comprises seven players, in a

:25:49. > :25:56.rectangle court, with posts with nets at either end. Each player

:25:57. > :26:02.wears a bid indicating their role. It limits their movements to certain

:26:03. > :26:07.areas of the court. If they encroach into other areas, a free pass is

:26:08. > :26:13.awarded to the other team. Defenders have to stand three feet away from

:26:14. > :26:16.the play with the ball, only able to win it back when it has been

:26:17. > :26:26.released. A player can only take one step when holding the ball. Only

:26:27. > :26:31.attacking positions may attempt to score from within the shooting

:26:32. > :26:38.circle. Only the gold defence and keeper may enter the circle to

:26:39. > :26:46.thwart the attacking side. Let's go straight to the live

:26:47. > :26:56.netball in the SECC. Jamaica taking on Northern Ireland. We will bring

:26:57. > :27:02.you the judo finals, the gold medal match coming up soon. Let's get into

:27:03. > :27:42.the netball, the end of the first quarter, Jamaica leading.

:27:43. > :27:48.Even when they double up, there is the height advantage. Just a little

:27:49. > :27:58.bit too much for the Northern Ireland offenders. They had to

:27:59. > :28:03.change it so what is working for them, they are always looking into

:28:04. > :28:26.the circle. They need to put pressure on.

:28:27. > :28:48.There you go, the tactics. Let's listen in. The starting position on

:28:49. > :29:12.101 -- one-on-one is, a bit far away.

:29:13. > :29:37.Hearing about a change for Jamaica, face -- Facey coming on. She was

:29:38. > :29:42.impressive yesterday. They think they may try to compare them. -- I

:29:43. > :30:01.think. A first touch for Facey. A classic

:30:02. > :30:09.example on focusing on the tall shooter, they need to be aware of

:30:10. > :30:16.that. Facey is six foot, two, as well. Incredible. Northern Ireland

:30:17. > :30:22.seem to be going over the top all the time, when the team is so tall,

:30:23. > :30:27.makes it difficult. That should not be their game plan, they need to

:30:28. > :30:41.come forward. Maybe it is a natural part of Somerville's game. Henry.

:30:42. > :30:45.Feeding Beckford. Subsequently Northern Ireland get punished for

:30:46. > :31:06.allowing them to have the ball. Ten is the lead for Jamaica. That is a

:31:07. > :31:12.great take. Facey to Beckford. A collision between Taylor and Henry.

:31:13. > :31:44.Beckford is punishing Northern Ireland here. A good take from

:31:45. > :31:50.Fowler-Reid. What is happening, we are seeing Northern Ireland's game

:31:51. > :31:56.suits Jamaica. They are players who like to work the ground, Jamaica's

:31:57. > :32:05.style of game, very aerial, does not suit Northern Ireland. Northern

:32:06. > :32:17.Ireland yet to get on the scoreboard in the second quarter. The defenders

:32:18. > :32:25.are pretty solid down at the back. Three minutes in, three goals

:32:26. > :32:56.scored, all for Jamaica. That is a nice take. The one thing about

:32:57. > :33:07.netball, you have to be consistent. All that hard work accounting for

:33:08. > :33:30.little. Can they get the scoreboard going? Yes they can. No foreign

:33:31. > :33:39.objects allowed on the court. A good spot, Tracey. Even there, it looked

:33:40. > :33:46.like space. Facey is so athletic, she almost got it. McCulloch. Making

:33:47. > :33:53.tracks into the circle, she did not have her hands up. Jamaica giving

:33:54. > :34:18.away the penalty pass. McCulloch takes on the shot, scores. Evering.

:34:19. > :34:31.A better diagonal, holding Jamaica up. As always, they go along, using

:34:32. > :34:41.Henry. This is Facey. Pinnock. Henry doing well. The call goes against

:34:42. > :34:54.Caroline O'Hanlon. She cannot believe it. Saying, what, me?

:34:55. > :35:00.Thompson ready to feed the ball in. That is where they need to get the

:35:01. > :35:15.timing right, they are doubling up on Evering, but you need to get the

:35:16. > :35:21.timing right. We are leaving the netball, as

:35:22. > :35:26.promised, we will ahead to the same building, the SECC. The judo taking

:35:27. > :35:35.place, this is the gold medal match. You have seen the two men coming

:35:36. > :35:47.towards the mat. Owen Livesey from Saint Helens. Tom Read, a student

:35:48. > :35:56.from Bath, failing to make it to London, he sees Rio as his target.

:35:57. > :35:58.Only one of these two can go home with gold. Two English men going for

:35:59. > :36:21.the gold medal. Owen Livesey in white, Tom Read in

:36:22. > :36:39.blue. You cannot shake hands at the beginning of the contest anymore,

:36:40. > :36:53.you have two bow. -- have to bow. That is where the respect ends! No,

:36:54. > :37:08.not at all. Reid underneath. Obviously not fearing Owen. Hoping

:37:09. > :37:16.for it. Throw in does not mind attacking if he's on top. -- Owen

:37:17. > :37:24.Livesey does not mind attacking. One-handed attacks, right against

:37:25. > :37:33.left. Such a difference from the last fight, completely upright judo.

:37:34. > :37:44.This is cagey, getting in your space, judo. Lowered to the ground.

:37:45. > :37:46.This is cagey, getting in your trained together a lot. Often you

:37:47. > :37:50.get that when the fighters know each other. -- lower.

:37:51. > :37:58.get that when the fighters know each big guns are.

:37:59. > :38:12.Owen Livesey has not attacked yet, Tom Reid is the man initiating. You

:38:13. > :38:29.have to be careful of that one. Can he get the leg out? Be careful what

:38:30. > :38:35.you ask for, you may just get it. Tom Reid, every time going down. He

:38:36. > :38:44.has to be careful, could cost him a penalty? In fact, there it is. Owen

:38:45. > :39:00.Livesey going forward. He is a big thriller. -- thrower. Another

:39:01. > :39:11.penalty to Tom Reid. Nearly tipped him. Very close with the counter.

:39:12. > :39:22.Owen Livesey looking strong. Tom Reid can feel the power, that is why

:39:23. > :39:37.he is cagey. To not write Owen Livesey off for the big attack. Good

:39:38. > :39:56.feet from Tom Reid. Very catlike. Almost halfway through this 81 kilos

:39:57. > :40:09.final. Two penalties to one. Reid has the two penalties, he has to try

:40:10. > :40:18.and pull it back. Owen Livesey, needs to attack. They are kind of

:40:19. > :40:24.cancelling each other out. I was just going to say that, seems back

:40:25. > :40:59.and forth, whoever gets there first. Tom Reid backing out. Livesey should

:41:00. > :41:20.smell blood now. Doing everything right. Squashing the big techniques

:41:21. > :41:25.of Tom Reid. Very close. Now Tom Reid has Livesey on his back. Does

:41:26. > :41:39.he have a strangle on? He might have? Trying to get the leverage.

:41:40. > :41:48.Tom Reid just holds off. That is enough of calm, cool and collected.

:41:49. > :41:57.Tom Reid, needs to unleash the beast. Into the last minute. That

:41:58. > :42:06.last minute could be an hour when you are out in the middle. Both in

:42:07. > :42:14.good condition. Going for it. Is that going to be a second penalty

:42:15. > :42:20.for Livesey? Yes, it is. Good tactical play by Tom Reid. Needs to

:42:21. > :42:33.go for it again. A third penalty would really open it up and could

:42:34. > :42:45.take it to golden score. 31 seconds. Has Livesey got the strangle? Might

:42:46. > :42:56.be across the face. Well, 17 seconds now left. Well, I have got Danny

:42:57. > :43:07.Williams just to the right of me going absolutely mental for his

:43:08. > :43:17.training partner. Now Tom Reid goes. Seven seconds. Livesey on top.

:43:18. > :43:27.It is all over. Livesey gets the gold medal. He gets it. Tom Reid

:43:28. > :43:48.couldn't do anything about it. Just lacked that little bit extra. What a

:43:49. > :43:53.comeback. You lost me for a little bit to watching Danny Willett yams

:43:54. > :44:02.and McKenzie doing gymnastics for their team-mates. A sight to behold.

:44:03. > :44:07.We weren't sure which way it was going to go. A great comeback by

:44:08. > :44:13.Owen Livesey. Back after two years. Coming back to training after being

:44:14. > :44:18.a bit solution by judo, I think. Now back to his best and will be

:44:19. > :44:22.representing Great Britain at the World Championships. A great

:44:23. > :44:27.performance by Tom Reid. He just loses out. Didn't quite have enough.

:44:28. > :44:54.We'll have to be content with silver. So, to more medal ceremonies

:44:55. > :45:08.to come. The under 70 kilograms medal ceremony about to happen. We

:45:09. > :45:14.have got the Commonwealth champion with us. You are live on BBC Three.

:45:15. > :45:22.You have had a long wait. Congratulations. Thank you. Very

:45:23. > :45:25.happy to be here, for a start. I want to thank my family for coming

:45:26. > :45:31.here, all the people back home. Really into. Extra bragging rights

:45:32. > :45:38.from being against another team-mate? It is not bragging rights

:45:39. > :45:42.but it is good to beat somebody from your country. It is a tense

:45:43. > :45:50.situation. The pressure builds even more. To get a win in the final is

:45:51. > :46:00.even better. Three medals yesterday, another three today. Did that spur

:46:01. > :46:04.you on? We are on a roll. Ashley McKenzie and Danny Williams are from

:46:05. > :46:08.my club as well. They put a bit of pressure on me to join them as well.

:46:09. > :46:18.What a two years you have had, as well. What about your love and hate

:46:19. > :46:24.relation with judo? It all goes down to hard work. I moved away and moved

:46:25. > :46:29.to Camberley and I am training really hard. You get out what you

:46:30. > :46:36.put in. I have put a lot in the soap the result is what I wanted. Is the

:46:37. > :46:42.next result in Rio? That is what everyone here is aiming for. We have

:46:43. > :46:47.plenty of tournaments to come. Just hoping to keep these good

:46:48. > :46:50.performances going. You are one of a collection of team England

:46:51. > :46:53.Commonwealth champions here. Congratulations and enjoy yourself

:46:54. > :47:04.on the top step. Thank you very much. Owen Livesey, the gold medal

:47:05. > :47:13.winner, giving an insight into what is needed. The netball is on the red

:47:14. > :47:19.button at the moment. Jamaica are leading Northern Ireland 35-17. We

:47:20. > :47:24.will be ebbing into that later on. We are now down outside the BBC

:47:25. > :47:29.Scotland building. Live music coming up later on and a doctor who treat

:47:30. > :47:35.for you. This lot are queueing up for food. I can recommend the pork

:47:36. > :47:41.pie when you get to the front in about two hours. He has got a drink

:47:42. > :47:47.to keep him going. We are keeping you up-to-date with as much sport as

:47:48. > :48:02.we can. Plenty has been going on today. These are the main headlines.

:48:03. > :48:13.Joanna Rowsell added to her medal tally. Jess appointment --

:48:14. > :48:20.disappointment for Jason Kenny, losing out to Sam Webster. Not a

:48:21. > :48:22.great games for Wales so far but they win medals in the individual

:48:23. > :48:31.all-round rhythmic gymnastics final today. And Elena Allen had to settle

:48:32. > :48:43.for silver medal after being beaten by Australia's Laura Coles in the

:48:44. > :48:49.women's's skeet final. This is a reminder of where and exactly what

:48:50. > :48:59.you can watch tonight. The best of the swimming action is on BBC1. Gary

:49:00. > :49:01.and the gang are in the BBC studio. Lawn bowls, Scotland against South

:49:02. > :49:05.and the gang are in the BBC studio. Africa in the men's pairs at

:49:06. > :49:12.Kelvingrove Park, a beautiful setting for the lawn bowls. You can

:49:13. > :49:17.watch that right now. South Africa are the reigning Commonwealth

:49:18. > :49:21.champions. We love a bit of squash on BBC Three and we will bring you

:49:22. > :49:28.more of that throughout the evening. You can see it online now.

:49:29. > :49:35.Go to the BBC website. Nick Matthew, the English number one has got

:49:36. > :49:40.through. Auxin, all of that online from VS ECC. The best of the actions

:49:41. > :49:51.from the home nation a little bit later on this evening. -- boxing

:49:52. > :49:56.from the S ECC. Danny Williams has some of the most remarkable tattoos

:49:57. > :50:00.in the business and he managed to see off the challenge from the New

:50:01. > :50:08.Zealander in the gold-medal match. Here he is picking up his medal.

:50:09. > :50:23.Gold medal for Danny Williams of England. A very happy man. His first

:50:24. > :50:24.major tournament win. At the Commonwealth Games, what a place to

:50:25. > :52:05.do it. # "Jerusalem" Glasgow, let's celebrate our

:52:06. > :52:13.Commonwealth Games medallists. Danny Williams, another gold medal in the

:52:14. > :52:17.judo under 73 kilograms category. Plenty of boxing to come your way.

:52:18. > :52:21.Throughout these games, we bring you a bit of colour from Scotland's

:52:22. > :52:29.finest. The opening ceremony, you will have seen economy and other

:52:30. > :52:36.names and faces. You may well have heard Danny MacAskill on you Tube.

:52:37. > :52:43.His last video of trial by King on the streets was watched by 28

:52:44. > :52:58.million people. This is his guide to Glasgow.

:52:59. > :53:09.I love Glasgow for the character of it. I look at the place as a giant

:53:10. > :53:14.playground. Street trials, for me, is a very individual thing. It is

:53:15. > :53:26.also a good thing to do with friends as a group. I am always looking for

:53:27. > :53:30.some sort of perfection in riding. It is important for me to feel that

:53:31. > :53:37.I have done my very best and make it look as easy as possible. I am not

:53:38. > :53:43.competitive with other people but I feel competitive with myself. I have

:53:44. > :53:54.a pretty good grasp of what is possible for me to do on a bike. I

:53:55. > :54:00.always seem to know what my 100% is. I am in control of my own body. It

:54:01. > :54:27.doesn't matter if it is 15 feet or 200 feet. You want to live in a city

:54:28. > :54:31.that allows you to be creative. When I feel I have landed a trick

:54:32. > :54:35.perfectly it is a feeling of relief because it is something I have been

:54:36. > :54:46.inking about for so long before hand. -- thinking about. That is

:54:47. > :54:48.Danny MacAskill. hand. -- thinking about. That is

:54:49. > :54:53.Danny At some point, he is going hand. -- thinking about. That is

:54:54. > :55:00.Danny At some to be doing his business around here as well. We

:55:01. > :55:05.promised you at some point it would be deemed unite on Friday night.

:55:06. > :55:13.Good, gentlemen. Look how excited they look. We are about to join them

:55:14. > :55:20.on their being gay as we go towards HMS Bangor. It looks absolutely

:55:21. > :55:24.beautiful. If you would like to come down, that ship is open every day

:55:25. > :55:28.between ten and five for the duration of the Commonwealth Games.

:55:29. > :55:35.We have plenty more sport to show you. We are going to rejoin the

:55:36. > :55:41.netball shortly. A reminder, if you go on the website, absolutely every

:55:42. > :55:44.sport that we are covering from all 71 nations and territories is

:55:45. > :55:53.available on there. You can be in charge of what you watch and when.

:55:54. > :55:59.BBC Three has got the netball. At half-time, it was 35-17, Jamaica

:56:00. > :56:08.leading Northern Ireland. We are going to pick it up now.

:56:09. > :56:14.COMMENTATOR: We told you you would be given an update on Khadijah

:56:15. > :56:17.Williams, that is higher in the centre of the free with a wrap

:56:18. > :56:23.around her waist, good to see her back on the bench under her own

:56:24. > :56:24.steam. Yes, I view of us thought she would be off to

:56:25. > :56:26.steam. Yes, I view of us thought she see her sitting up and able to watch

:56:27. > :56:46.her team in action. -- a few of us. Apparently it is a badly bruised

:56:47. > :56:55.back that she has picked up so let's hope that that does not keep her off

:56:56. > :57:05.the court for too long. She may well get the game off against Scotland to

:57:06. > :57:08.allow it to heal. Interesting that Romelda Aiken is still on the bench

:57:09. > :57:15.so they have got a plan in terms of who will run the game and who will

:57:16. > :57:18.not. We'll have it mapped out for the whole tournament, making sure

:57:19. > :57:55.everyone gets their fair share of rest. Maybe there is a full game

:57:56. > :58:00.good start here for Northern Ireland, three goals to one, we have

:58:01. > :58:07.come out a new team with this new line-up. Does well to keep that

:58:08. > :58:31.alive but sadly it comes off Oonagh McCullough.

:58:32. > :58:38.Beckford goes across, Caroline O'Hanlon thought about intercepting

:58:39. > :58:59.but then let it go. Second take from Oonagh McCullough.

:59:00. > :59:12.She has been calling it for a while. Beckford. That is a great take from

:59:13. > :59:25.read that she wants to get close to the net. -- Jhaniele Reid but she

:59:26. > :59:26.wants to get close to the net. Thristina Harwood was shooting

:59:27. > :59:47.really well yesterday. The only player on either bench that

:59:48. > :59:55.has not had any court time is Michelle Drayne of Northern Ireland.

:59:56. > :00:03.Noleen Lennon shot 20 from 21 yesterday. Three out of four today

:00:04. > :00:20.so far. She looks better there doesn't she?

:00:21. > :00:26.Northern Ireland continue to keep the lead in this quarter. What do

:00:27. > :00:31.you think would have been set at half-time in the dressing room? Just

:00:32. > :00:42.to improve on their performance, that the line-up would be changed

:00:43. > :00:48.and there would be a challenge out they are. Two shows and fighting

:00:49. > :00:51.spirit. They would have been focusing on what they did perhaps in

:00:52. > :00:55.the last few minutes of the second quarter and the run that they had

:00:56. > :01:10.during that first quarter. So they can do it. Thinks about it and comes

:01:11. > :01:26.out again. Levels it up at 5-5 in the quarter. Reinstate the 18 goal

:01:27. > :01:32.lead for Jamaica. Jamaica ranked fourth in the world, Northern

:01:33. > :01:35.Ireland 12th, so Northern Ireland giving a good account of themselves

:01:36. > :01:42.so far. Nothing the defenders could do, it was two on one, Thristina

:01:43. > :01:50.Harwood just threw it up because she knew Jhaniele Reid had the advantage

:01:51. > :01:54.in height. The Jamaica captain analysed and Noleen Lennon puts the

:01:55. > :02:18.ball through -- penalised. Now just settling down between an 18

:02:19. > :02:26.and 19 goal difference. They have got to focus on the passes, that

:02:27. > :02:31.pass was never on but it was given anyway, that is pretty basic stuff.

:02:32. > :02:40.Good position there at the top of the circle. Oonagh McCullough was

:02:41. > :02:52.free. She is on the ball now and she has missed. Good work called against

:02:53. > :02:55.Stacian Facey. Something is going on, she has been trying to get her

:02:56. > :03:10.attention for the last minute or two. Nicole Pinnock needs some

:03:11. > :03:16.attention. She has been good for Jamaica, they would not want to lose

:03:17. > :03:24.her during the tournament. The late talented family out there, sister

:03:25. > :03:39.Romelda Aiken sitting on the bench. -- early talented family. -- fairly

:03:40. > :03:44.talented. There is her sister. You did say that we might see her. One

:03:45. > :04:09.sister replaces another. Romelda Aiken is the younger of the

:04:10. > :04:16.two. And your rumours are correct. I would not ask you who told you, you

:04:17. > :04:21.cannot reveal your sources. News travels around the world. That was a

:04:22. > :04:30.quick warm up, she is ready to take to the court. Perhaps not needed.

:04:31. > :04:40.Let's have a look. The way she is walking I would not margin she is

:04:41. > :05:01.going to continue. Romelda Aiken replaces her sister Nicole Pinnock.

:05:02. > :05:18.Jhaniele Reid. Makes it a 20 goal game now for Jamaica. 6:28 remaining

:05:19. > :05:46.in the third quarter. She stands at six foot five, so with

:05:47. > :05:53.her hands up, on tiptoes, what do you think, 8-foot? Look at that, she

:05:54. > :05:58.had no right to get that, Jhaniele Reid. That was a beautiful piece of

:05:59. > :06:14.skill. Let's have another look. She would

:06:15. > :06:26.have thought she had that, Gemma Gibney.

:06:27. > :06:48.Romelda Aiken penalised. The hold against Romelda Aiken now. They do

:06:49. > :07:00.not come more on a plate than mess. And Noleen Lennon does not make a

:07:01. > :07:14.mistake. The best quarter of the game so far, Northern Ireland. 11 -

:07:15. > :07:22.seven, so just down by four. Into McCaffrey. That was almost a

:07:23. > :07:27.perfectly timed jump by Romelda Aiken, but it was a perfectly judged

:07:28. > :07:37.shot by Noleen Lennon. Nice work from Marie Toner, almost ends up in

:07:38. > :07:40.someone's lap. McCaffrey doing some nice things, adding speed and

:07:41. > :08:04.movement around the circle. Likes using the arm at times, Noleen

:08:05. > :08:07.Lennon. She is probably sick and tired of Jhaniele Reid getting the

:08:08. > :08:11.better of her, and now she has come up against another six foot five

:08:12. > :08:21.player. A tough day at the office for Noleen Lennon. She will have

:08:22. > :08:23.nightmares of Giants tonight. They get bigger every year, the net

:08:24. > :08:43.dollars. -- good block there by Noleen Lennon to

:08:44. > :08:53.keep a free line of sight. Oonagh McCullough with the free shot makes

:08:54. > :08:58.it 47-26. Still two minutes 50 seconds remaining in the third

:08:59. > :09:06.quarter. Best quarter in terms of goals scored and goals conceded,

:09:07. > :09:09.12-9 Jamaica week this quarter. There is not as

:09:10. > :09:13.12-9 Jamaica week this quarter. the Jamaicans in this quarter, they

:09:14. > :09:21.seem to be labouring a bit, relying on long, floating passes. Which will

:09:22. > :09:26.be frustrating for the players who have just come on because they are

:09:27. > :09:35.not getting a chance to show what they can do with the whole team

:09:36. > :09:45.playing at a good pace. Williams picked up for contact. Northern

:09:46. > :09:55.Ireland need one more goal in this quarter to make it in this quarter

:09:56. > :09:59.to make it into double a quarter. -- to make it into double figures for

:10:00. > :10:18.the first time in a quarter. Northern Ireland have ten goals in a

:10:19. > :10:23.quarter. The Jamaican bench just going through some warm-ups. Changes

:10:24. > :10:41.afoot. They came into this quarter trailing

:10:42. > :10:51.by 18, the now trail by 19. , 20, excuse me.

:10:52. > :10:59.That is so flat. Just enough energy to get it up to the level of the

:11:00. > :11:20.foot. Nothing more. -- of they need to keep mindful that the

:11:21. > :11:24.goal attacks should practice putting out the shots because they will need

:11:25. > :11:39.to do so if they are going to win some big games.

:11:40. > :11:45.make it 49-29 at three quarters time. She has missed it and that is

:11:46. > :11:52.the end of the third quarter, and much better court for Northern

:11:53. > :12:01.Ireland, losing it but only by three and as a result trailing by 21.

:12:02. > :12:05.Jamaica 49, Northern Ireland 28. And we shall return for the fourth

:12:06. > :12:14.caught up a bit later. But as promised, Friday night is dinghy

:12:15. > :12:20.night. Permission to board? Let's jump on and try not to fall in.

:12:21. > :12:26.Health and safety disaster. Thank you for welcoming us on board. These

:12:27. > :12:33.boys are on the ship just down the river. Give the people watching an

:12:34. > :12:41.idea of what sort of job you do. It is not a minesweeper but a mine

:12:42. > :12:49.hunter. We go around the world on operations claiming unexploded mines

:12:50. > :12:59.from the sea bed. We dived down and control explode them. You have been

:13:00. > :13:04.stationed in the Gulf recently. You get told to go somewhere where there

:13:05. > :13:10.is a mine in the water and you have two control explode? That's right.

:13:11. > :13:17.The ship has sonar and it will find it and we get called in and we go

:13:18. > :13:25.down and have a look and do surveys and control explode it. But your job

:13:26. > :13:30.for the next ten days, there are no minds in the River Clyde, you are

:13:31. > :13:36.showing people around the ship. A big crowd around here everyday. What

:13:37. > :13:41.has it been like? We really enjoyed it, we wanted to give the general

:13:42. > :13:46.public a bit of an insight into what we do. We are here to promote the

:13:47. > :13:49.Royal Navy, we have had a couple of thousand people on everyday and

:13:50. > :13:54.people are interested so it is nice to show the public what we do

:13:55. > :14:00.because we are their Navy. The boat is open every day between 10am and

:14:01. > :14:07.5pm. Have you been able to see any of the action? No, not yet! We are

:14:08. > :14:12.working and showing around the public but hopefully we will have

:14:13. > :14:20.time to get around. Is it possible for us to go off? What is the Navy

:14:21. > :14:28.term for mounting a boat? We will slip now and go up there. Slip away.

:14:29. > :14:34.This might be the first time in television history we will hand from

:14:35. > :14:38.a dinghy back to the netball. See you in a bit! Enjoy the netball! The

:14:39. > :15:10.final quarter! Fionnuala Toner has come off. That

:15:11. > :15:21.how you ball dropping into the hands of Fowler-Reid. -- that high ball.

:15:22. > :15:33.She will be relieved to finally get on the court. It always helps, you

:15:34. > :15:35.feel part of the team. You don't feel apart if everybody else has had

:15:36. > :16:09.a go so this will be great for her. The channel just opened up therefore

:16:10. > :16:15.Fowler-Reid. I like to see that give and go. They need to drive on and

:16:16. > :16:25.receive the next ball and it makes it a bit easier for your shooters.

:16:26. > 1:09:33Another rebound. You can see the benefit of Romelda Aiken playing in

1:09:34 > 1:09:34the trans-Tasman championship. She has a lot of strength in her body

1:09:35 > 1:09:34now which has certainly helped her gain.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34It looked like she used the post but the umpire was right there so

1:09:35 > 1:09:34obviously not. She heard the call and let it go,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34that would have been to refit. Beckford again, she has a good

1:09:35 > 1:09:34understanding with Fowler-Reid. I was thinking what they're starting

1:09:35 > 1:09:34seven would be in a big game, Jamaica. I like Henry at wing attack

1:09:35 > 1:09:34and Beckford at goal attack. And then Facey at goal difference? I

1:09:35 > 1:09:34think I like Kelly, she has a bit more speed off the mark and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34elevation. And aching Punic -- Nicole Aiken-Pinnock. And Williams

1:09:35 > 1:09:34or Thompson in the centre? Probably Williams would fit in well. But I

1:09:35 > 1:09:34would throw in Aiken at goal attack. They did that in the World

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Championships with those the tall players. Aiken was not in the circle

1:09:35 > 1:09:34so it defeated the purpose of having a tall player so I would just plant

1:09:35 > 1:09:34them. If they can work on their screens, it is worth a go. Jamaica

1:09:35 > 1:09:34are going through the gears here. They might have had a sluggish start

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to the third quarter as Fowler-Reid scores goals 40 and 41 in Quicken

1:09:35 > 1:09:34session but they are now leading 6-1 in this final quarter. They are

1:09:35 > 1:09:34ticking over the scoreboard regularly.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34A little step to the right and a goal for Lennon.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34It is a big year, 13 months for netball at the Commonwealth Games

1:09:35 > 1:09:34and the World Championships. That was a big collision. This is big for

1:09:35 > 1:09:34netball because it is inclusion in a multisport event and then the World

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Championships. They are very different event is, you love to be

1:09:35 > 1:09:34part of it, so many highlights from the Commonwealth Games and at the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34World Championships it is all netball in its purest form so that

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is good too. She almost jumped up and got that! She was smiling when

1:09:35 > 1:09:34she came down. What has come into play is that

1:09:35 > 1:09:34chair lift. You imagine Aiken, she could live Facey -- give Facey a bit

1:09:35 > 1:09:34of a lift. It was invented in New Zealand? It started with Anna

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Harrison and it was called the Harrison hoist. It's funny, because

1:09:35 > 1:09:34it has been not -- not been used here.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34It is going to be another victory for Jamaica. The second quarter

1:09:35 > 1:09:34would have caused a bit of concern against Saint Lucia but it was

1:09:35 > 1:09:34caught three here against Northern Ireland. But as they did against

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Saint Lucia, they have responded well. That was unlucky, she landed

1:09:35 > 1:09:34on her foot and was called for contact.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34You said earlier it was the first female team at a Commonwealth Games

1:09:35 > 1:09:34or Olympic Games, for them to be part of it is pretty special. And

1:09:35 > 1:09:34they have been enjoying every moment I am sure. She has just been cracked

1:09:35 > 1:09:34in the eye, she has got a pearler now. Nothing a patch will not fix

1:09:35 > 1:09:34but it must have hurt. You laugh or your cry -- or you cry.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34You look at the reaction of Aiken... A forearm to the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34cheekbone. That will... Dampen her dating

1:09:35 > 1:09:34prospects? Julie McVeigh, the primary carer for Northern Ireland.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34She will be fine and they will have a bit of a joke about it on the bus,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34I'm sure. It was a fair hit. That is some lack I. -- black eye. They have

1:09:35 > 1:09:34a day off tomorrow because if that comes up and closes it, it would

1:09:35 > 1:09:34make shooting very difficult. It has been a game of stoppages. There was

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the injury to Khadijah Williams who, fortunately, is sat on the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34bench right now for Jamaica. She is OK, or OK to sit on the bench. 27 is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the lead now. They have to keep their vision up, they focus on

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Fowler-Reid but sometimes they don't look in. Just pulling away here,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Jamaica. 9-3 as we go past the halfway point in this final quarter.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34It seems to be that part of the court. It is, isn't it?

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Lennon is pointing at that same spot on the court. Tracy Smith is going

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to stop time. Here comes the ball girl. Hard to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34see exactly what it is. Michelle Drayne into McCulloch but

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the ball into the circle was off target. Both teams are a bit sloppy

1:09:35 > 1:09:34now, they need to keep it together for another six minutes. Harwood

1:09:35 > 1:09:34goes high and long. The last touch was off Gemma Gibney. It was well

1:09:35 > 1:09:34done, she cut into the right position. The last touch and the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34sideline ball. It is a 30 goal game now.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Northern Ireland having a similar quarter as they did in the second

1:09:35 > 1:09:34although Jamaica took their foot off the gas in the end.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34of education get over your opponent, so Jamaica will be thinking they are

1:09:35 > 1:09:34better than Mullally because of that. That was a great game, all

1:09:35 > 1:09:34shooters firing on all cylinders. 18-14 it was at quarter time. That

1:09:35 > 1:09:34was a little look at the black eye for Noleen Lennon.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Noleen Lennon has a reminder of her game against Jamaica at the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Commonwealth Games. Running out of space is Beckford.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34No, no. Out of space. For McCaffrey. I think one thing Northern Ireland

1:09:35 > 1:09:34should work on is the give and go, get the ball and lease it, cut in

1:09:35 > 1:09:34front of your player and give it back, generates so much speed and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34movement and makes life difficult for defenders. They do not seem to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34be using it much at all, but when they do it works.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34The Jamaican bench looking on as Jhaniele Reid puts through for the

1:09:35 > 1:09:3463rd goal. She is now 46 from 52. She has more goals than Ireland.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34That is not bad. Oonagh McCullough. Struggling again

1:09:35 > 1:09:34with her shooting radar. Good work from Michelle Drayne, just the sort

1:09:35 > 1:09:34of competitive spirit that you want to see at this stage in the game.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34It has gone against Thristina Harwood. Gemma Gibney. Caroline

1:09:35 > 1:09:34O'Hanlon. McCaffrey cannot take the pass and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Jamaica take possession once again. This is Stacian Facey. Goes up and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34over, good take from Thristina Harwood. Good into Jhaniele Reid.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Slipped passing from Jamaica. 31 know the difference. We saw the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Jamaicans looking on in the game between New Zealand and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34good sides come back from poor performances so they will be a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34different team the next time they hit the court, that is for sure. 70

1:09:35 > 1:09:34seconds remaining. 70 seconds for Jhaniele Reid to bring up a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34half-century of goals. She has done it, she has been threatening to do

1:09:35 > 1:09:34it all game and she finally does it. Magnificent, what a player. You can

1:09:35 > 1:09:34tell she is enjoying it at goalkeeper today.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34That is what happens when you play against someone so tall. You do

1:09:35 > 1:09:34whatever you can to help your team. Jhaniele Reid is not going to get

1:09:35 > 1:09:34her 50th goal by the looks of things. All smiles down in the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34circle, she has almost done it again. LAUGHTER

1:09:35 > 1:09:34She is loving it. The 50th goal will not count, sadly for Jhaniele Reid,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34but it is a good victory for Jamaica. Pity consistent throughout.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34-- pretty consistent. The final score is a resounding victory.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Here we are moving down the River Clyde just a couple of hundred yards

1:09:35 > 1:09:34towards HMS Bangor which is mirrored on Plantation Quay just outside the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34science Museum in Glasgow. A roundabout 38 members of the Navy

1:09:35 > 1:09:34stationed on here throughout the Commonwealth Games. Hold on, just

1:09:35 > 1:09:34coming. Hello everyone. Here we are, look at that. The magic of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34television. One final reminder, because the Navy have been very nice

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to us, you can come on here any day during the Commonwealth Games

1:09:35 > 1:09:34between 10am and 5pm and have a good look around. They have been very

1:09:35 > 1:09:34nice to us tonight here. We went from the dinghy to the netball and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34now we will bring you another sport, we have had judo and we have

1:09:35 > 1:09:34got boxing later on, I know I am getting in trouble for teasing the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Doctor Who fans but there will be something I think you will enjoy a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34lot coming up after nine o'clock tonight. Now we will go to the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34squash at the Scotstoun arena. Last night we showed you James Willstrop

1:09:35 > 1:09:34in the men's squash, now we have the world number one but the number two

1:09:35 > 1:09:34seed here at the Commonwealth Games. She is Laura Massaro, she is 2-1 up

1:09:35 > 1:09:34and we will join it in the fourth game.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Lovely weighted drive just dying in the back corner. It was a great

1:09:35 > 1:09:34retrieve and a great shot. Quite a lot of space for Lauder to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34hit the ball but the -- the referee deemed that she didn't. -- for Laura

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Massaro to hit the ball. This is the crucial time for her opponent, she

1:09:35 > 1:09:34cannot allow Laura Massaro to get too much of a lead otherwise she

1:09:35 > 1:09:34will run away with it. This point is very important.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34There we can see Fernando is using the forehand drop which has been

1:09:35 > 1:09:34very good to her in this match -- Fernandez. Punching it in there and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34keeping it tight to the wall. Well played. Bringing herself level

1:09:35 > 1:09:34at 3-3. The crowd showing some appreciation.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Trying to encourage herself a long and pick herself up. A little bit in

1:09:35 > 1:09:34frustration I think. It was a good length by Laura Massaro to set up

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the shot. Lovely, lovely shot. She is deadly around the middle of the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34court and the front of the court, Fernandez.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Impressive stuff. And again in the same position, throwing herself at

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the ball. Remarkable, incredible. The movement and athleticism from

1:09:35 > 1:09:34her, just incredible. Took about four perfect shots for Laura Massaro

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to win that rally. 100% for effort. Very important to pick up all the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34sweat, you do not want it to be slippy, these players lunging all

1:09:35 > 1:09:34over the court, one drop of sweat catches the outside of your shoe and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34useful Mac and you can injure yourself -- and you slip and you

1:09:35 > 1:09:34injure yourself. given, Laura Massaro clearly not

1:09:35 > 1:09:34happy with the decision -- a let given. Did push her into it a little

1:09:35 > 1:09:34bit in her attempt to get they it. A little bit frustrating for Laura

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Massaro, not just the decision but the fact that she played a great

1:09:35 > 1:09:34rally and Nicolette just picked up everything.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34That could turn out to be a crucial mistake for Nicolette Fernandes. She

1:09:35 > 1:09:34created a loose shot but could not quite take the opportunity.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34At the moment, Laura is really taking control of this fourth game.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Nicolette not quite sure where she was going on that occasion. Quite

1:09:35 > 1:09:34often that is the separation between the top players and may be those

1:09:35 > 1:09:34ranked slightly below them, just the ability to recognise the big moments

1:09:35 > 1:09:34and to be decisive in them. Laura has certainly done that in the last

1:09:35 > 1:09:34few years of her career. There is James Willstrop from the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34England team, seeded number two in the men's singles event.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Lovely finish, lovely finish. It doesn't get any better than that. A

1:09:35 > 1:09:34little bit loose from Laura Massaro, just calves around the side of the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34ball to bring it back in. As you mentioned earlier, you are

1:09:35 > 1:09:34allowed to take as much space as you want when it is your shot and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Nicolette really did take all the space required. And internal,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34receiving a stroke and it is now 7-7. And what a way to respond.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Straightaway, Laura Massaro is back in the lead. I think I would call

1:09:35 > 1:09:34that decisive. Neither player letting the other get

1:09:35 > 1:09:34away. Another dive. Wow! Quite incredible!

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Nicolette trying to get the crowd going, literally throwing herself

1:09:35 > 1:09:34all over the court. What a great atmosphere. All the crowd

1:09:35 > 1:09:34appreciating the doggedness and retrieving ability of Nicolette. And

1:09:35 > 1:09:34a nice smile looking back at Laura Massaro. When somebody keeps

1:09:35 > 1:09:34retrieving and retrieving time and time again, you sometimes feel you

1:09:35 > 1:09:34have got to put the ball in so tight and so short and in turn, you end up

1:09:35 > 1:09:34making a mistake. Laura created a perfect opportunity and just jammed

1:09:35 > 1:09:34up her technique a little bit and did not follow through. Nicolette

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Fernandes gets the reward, 9-8 up. that Nicolette did not quite make it

1:09:35 > 1:09:34on the first bounce and that brings Laura Massaro level.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Now it is the turn of Laura Massaro to have to make the pick-up and a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34great finish and a clench of the fist takes her to match point. That

1:09:35 > 1:09:34was an incredible rally, Laura picked up three balls that just

1:09:35 > 1:09:34looked dead but she now has match point.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Quite remarkable how Nicolette just responds every time to anything that

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Laura throws at her. So, here we go. One player needs to win by two clear

1:09:35 > 1:09:34points. Well, I think Nicolette... Thinking

1:09:35 > 1:09:34that was not they let -- not at let.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34It should be fairly simple. It's definitely bounced up a little bit.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Laura showed in the previous rally that she is certainly capable of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34picking up shots like that. I think possibly a little bit of influence

1:09:35 > 1:09:34there from Nicolette. Nicolette is so quick away from the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34ball, so quick into the middle. There we go! No let given. The

1:09:35 > 1:09:34decision upheld. This gives Nicolette Fernandes game point. This

1:09:35 > 1:09:34would take us into a fifth and final game if she manages to secure this.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Oh! If ever you wanted a great advert for women's squash, I think

1:09:35 > 1:09:34these two ladies are doing it justice. Every rally is an epic

1:09:35 > 1:09:34right now. And again! Really encouraging

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Nicolette Fernandes to try to grab the final point. We see her

1:09:35 > 1:09:34clenching her fist. She wants this badly.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34The referees have decided that the ball did go out of court.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Wow. You cannot get much closer than that. And match point to Laura

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Massaro. I think Laura, after a couple of the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34previous decisions, trying to prove that she can get to the ball. Every

1:09:35 > 1:09:34effort, as they say. What a shot but actually Laura

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Massaro asking for a let but no let given. Nicolette is so quick to the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34front of the court and holds her position so well, even comes back a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34little bit. So low as well when she plays that shot. We are all square

1:09:35 > 1:09:34again. Well, that was a very contained,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34disciplined rally from Laura Massaro, working her feet well and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34playing that straight, deep shot, cutting down the angle for Nicolette

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to attack the ball. Match point once again. To Laura Massaro. Can she put

1:09:35 > 1:09:34a point away? Nice congratulations therefrom Nicolette. Great applause

1:09:35 > 1:09:34from the crowd. Laura Massaro really hanging on in there. Such a tough

1:09:35 > 1:09:34match. Really stuck in. There we are. Congratulations from her

1:09:35 > 1:09:34husband. Laura Massaro takes the match, she wins 3-1. Laura Massaro

1:09:35 > 1:09:34into the quarterfinals of the squash. After nine o'clock, we have

1:09:35 > 1:09:34got some boxing, we will show you our netball journey and we have some

1:09:35 > 1:09:34music and that Doctor Who stuff. We thought that we would leave you with

1:09:35 > 1:09:34that Scottish Sun said. The news follows shortly. See you in a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34moment. And it's about time

1:09:35 > 1:09:34that I did something about that. Right back to Glasgow

1:09:35 > 1:09:34after a quick update. An Edinburgh mother has

1:09:35 > 1:09:34admitted killing her son. Three-year-old Mikaeel Kular's body

1:09:35 > 1:09:34was found in a suitcase Rosdeep Adekoya will be

1:09:35 > 1:09:34sentenced next month. Tulisa's been found guilty

1:09:35 > 1:09:34has failed a drugs test. The hurdler says he's never

1:09:35 > 1:09:34knowingly taken a banned substance. Tulisa's been found guilty

1:09:35 > 1:09:34of hitting a celebrity blogger. It happened at last year's

1:09:35 > 1:09:34of fans. Time to head back to Dan now,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34in Glasgow. Welcome back, everybody. We will be

1:09:35 > 1:09:34here until ten Welcome back, everybody. We will be

1:09:35 > 1:09:34here until o'clock. Round about an hour left. We have a bit of boxing,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34a bit of live music, as well. We have been reliably informed, this is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34radiophonic sound cloud. You may well have heard about this. This lot

1:09:35 > 1:09:34worked for the BBC. A group of engineers came up with one of the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34most famous pieces of music that you will hear on a television screen.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Doctor Who fans know that the series is returning with a Scottish doctor

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Peter Capaldi. It was this group who originally composter and performed

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the theme tune. Everybody is very much enjoying it this evening. The

1:09:35 > 1:09:34BBC radiophonic workshop are going to finish with their classic. This

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the man back in the studio in the 1960s. We were left the manuscript

1:09:35 > 1:09:34by Ron grain, he went away for a fortnight, he asked if he wrote

1:09:35 > 1:09:34that, Delia said, very nearly. There were no electronic instruments at

1:09:35 > 1:09:34all. There were no sense sizes -- no synthesisers. We did it all with a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34tape, oscillators and lots of sticky tape. We mixed them all together and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34there was a mistake. In Maida Vale studios, a very long corridors, we

1:09:35 > 1:09:34went along the corridor on winding the tape and where there was extra

1:09:35 > 1:09:34sticky tape, that was the wrong note. There you go, an extra story.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34From the boys who came up with the original music for Doctor Who, this

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is what we call cross promotion. Life returns. I don't think I know

1:09:35 > 1:09:34who the doctor is any more. I am the doctor, I have lived for over 2000

1:09:35 > 1:09:34years, I have made many mistakes. It is about time I did something about

1:09:35 > 1:09:34that. Where are we going? Into darkness. Tell me, am I a good man?

1:09:35 > 1:09:34I don't know. There you go, all that to look

1:09:35 > 1:09:34forward to. Andrew Selby was next into the ring, he told his story.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34I was fed up of losing, my mother said to keep at it. Mums always know

1:09:35 > 1:09:34best. Yes! In 2010, when you lost you were that low. How were you?

1:09:35 > 1:09:34If it stays like this, the top and bottom scores are discarded. Selby

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is going to have to wait for the decision. A great last round. Khan

1:09:35 > 1:09:34has 18! He has defeated the double European bronze medallist -- he has

1:09:35 > 1:09:34won it. Everybody who watched it knew that I won that. It is up to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the judges to decide. I just took my vest off. I thought I had to win

1:09:35 > 1:09:34clear to get a decision. It was a close fight but I thought I did

1:09:35 > 1:09:34enough. When it comes to the common wealth games, I am assuming that is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34not how you want to finish your Commonwealth Games career. No, I

1:09:35 > 1:09:34have improved a lot since then and I am going for gold. I can see it on

1:09:35 > 1:09:34your face, you are focused. It is a bit thing for me, there is a lot of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34pressure. I have got to prove it to everyone. -- big thing. Here is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Andrew taking on Reece McFadden. Commentary from Richie Woodhall and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Ronald McIntosh. The young man wearing blue operating

1:09:35 > 1:09:34out of the orthodox stance, he is prone to switch that stance, Andrew

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Selby from Wales, the world number one, taking on the Southport wearing

1:09:35 > 1:09:34red and representing Scotland, Reece McFadden, just 19 years of age. He

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is not overawed by the reputation or the occasion as he starts with a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34fast combination. A couple got through. Selby is adept at switching

1:09:35 > 1:09:34from orthodox to southpaw in the blink of an eye. Hugely talented,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34two-time reigning European Championship gold medallist.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden encouraged and inspired by this crowd. He is making a competent

1:09:35 > 1:09:34start, getting to work with that southpaw jab. He is coming in,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34didn't come young McFadden, I watched him in his corner and he

1:09:35 > 1:09:34looked very confident. He has nothing to lose and everything to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34gain. He is doing well. Just approaching the halfway stage

1:09:35 > 1:09:34of this opening round. Selby onto the front foot, the slightly taller

1:09:35 > 1:09:34of the two. A good right hand from McFadden brings a huge round of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34applause. Selby retaining his poise and continuing to switch his feet. A

1:09:35 > 1:09:34good left hand to the body. That will be the hub for McFadden against

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Selby, Selby can box equally as good as an orthodox or southpaw. He is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34very skilful and talented. McFadden just falling short as Selby

1:09:35 > 1:09:34backed off and remained out of punching distance. McFadden does not

1:09:35 > 1:09:34want to be in the corner but he comes out with a beautiful counter

1:09:35 > 1:09:34right hand. McFadden is boxing very well indeed

1:09:35 > 1:09:34on the back foot. This is a great display up to now, 19 years old,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34very inexperienced but he is axing a very clever, patient game on the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34back foot. It is how long he can keep it going for but up to now he

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is doing really well. We will have to watch whether Selby

1:09:35 > 1:09:34does switch his feet as he has done. McFadden continuing to take it

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to the world number one. At the end of the round, he has acquitted

1:09:35 > 1:09:34himself very well indeed. The coach telling him to keep a lid on it,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34plenty more boxing still to come. Colin Jones in the red and green

1:09:35 > 1:09:34T-shirt. This is how his man was put under pressure by the little

1:09:35 > 1:09:34marauding figure in red. McFadden axing well on the back foot and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34coming forward with those raiding attacks but he has been patient. He

1:09:35 > 1:09:34should have got that first round. Indeed he has and in unanimous

1:09:35 > 1:09:34fashion against the world number one. A brilliant start by the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Scottish teenager. Plenty to think about for the man in blue

1:09:35 > 1:09:34representing Wales. Andrew Selby wearing blue, the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34reigning two-time European Championship gold medallist. He

1:09:35 > 1:09:34retained that title in Minsk, Belarus last year. Undisputed world

1:09:35 > 1:09:34number one at 52 kilograms. But McFadden, the reigning Scottish

1:09:35 > 1:09:34champion and a European Championship junior bronze medallist from 2011,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34showing no fear of the reputation of the man in front of him and he is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34boxing very well indeed, well enough to take the opening round in

1:09:35 > 1:09:34unanimous fashion. Selby is starting to go through the gears, McFadden

1:09:35 > 1:09:34has to get off the ropes. Selby is starting to work well to the body.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34It is whether McFadden can go with Selby when Selby raises the tempo.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Selby continuing to switch his feet. That was class boxing from Selby,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the way he went back and punched from the back foot. Both of them

1:09:35 > 1:09:34firing furtive glances towards the referee. McFadden continuing to skim

1:09:35 > 1:09:34around the perimeter. There was a shot that got through from Selby.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Both of them swapping smiles as Selby engaged in a bit of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34showboating, much to the derision of the crowd. McFadden switching the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34tables effectively but could not capitalise and land with any

1:09:35 > 1:09:34significant shot in his foreword foray.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden continuing to work away and really acquit himself well. He took

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the senior title earlier this year. Remember, he is only 19 years of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34age. The crowd here are really engaged and infused by what they are

1:09:35 > 1:09:34seeing, McFadden taking it to the world number one -- and is used --

1:09:35 > 1:09:34enthused. What an exchange to end the round.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden strides back to his corner confidently. The world number one

1:09:35 > 1:09:34could find himself two rounds down, we will have to see how the judges

1:09:35 > 1:09:34score it but another hugely competitive round. McFadden took the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34opener in unanimous fashion. Colin Jones reading instructions and quite

1:09:35 > 1:09:34possibly the riot act to Andrew Selby. His guard is very low and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden is always coming back at him at the end of the exchanges.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden himself coming forward. That was the bit of showboating from

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Selby. They have gone with Selby so it is all square. One round apiece.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Everything to box for in this third and final round.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34The boxer in blue out of the orthodox stance is Andrew Selby, the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34reigning two-time European Championship gold medallist. He is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34facing the Scottish teenage sensation Reece McFadden, just 19

1:09:35 > 1:09:34years of age, a Scottish senior champion who is inspired by this

1:09:35 > 1:09:34close to capacity crowd at the SEC seen and is producing a brilliant

1:09:35 > 1:09:34performance. There is everything to box for in this third and final

1:09:35 > 1:09:34round. Selby raising the tempo but a clever display from McFadden,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34waiting for opportunities on the back foot. And springing the odd

1:09:35 > 1:09:34attack here and there and making Selby wait for this.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden changing his feet momentarily. He took a couple from

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Selby while up against the ropes. He was picked off as he came forwards.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34The mouthpiece of Selby almost dislodged for the second time. That

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is a bit surprising. He must be breathing through his mouth as he is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34throwing the shot. That should not be dislodged like that.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34I don't know what the problem is with that mouth guard. Andrew Selby

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is hugely experienced. But he is having considerable and consistent

1:09:35 > 1:09:34problems with his mouth guard and that is a warning! That is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34absolutely calamitous for Andrew Selby. Significant in the context of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34this bout because it surely has two illicit a change in tactics. We were

1:09:35 > 1:09:34tied at one round apiece and at the midway stage, the referee has issued

1:09:35 > 1:09:34a public warning against the world number one Andrew Selby. He will

1:09:35 > 1:09:34have two produce a dominant display just to get back on terms. Reece

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden will be aware of that. And let's not forget that Wales have

1:09:35 > 1:09:34already lost gold medal favourite Fred Evans. This is a terrible

1:09:35 > 1:09:34situation. Selby has got to go Fred Evans. This is a terrible

1:09:35 > 1:09:34stoppage. He will have to find a punch to put his man on the floor

1:09:35 > 1:09:34because he has been issued a public warning with the mouthpiece

1:09:35 > 1:09:34repeatedly coming out. There it is again, four times, he kicks it out

1:09:35 > 1:09:34of the ring in frustration. Colin Jones is in charge of the Welsh

1:09:35 > 1:09:34delegation. He must be as perplexed as Selby himself and as we are at

1:09:35 > 1:09:34ringside. A hugely experienced team and boxer Art experiencing continual

1:09:35 > 1:09:34difficulties through the most rudimentary piece of kit. He now has

1:09:35 > 1:09:34a proverbial mountain to climb. That is it for Selby unless he gets a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34stoppage. He has to produce a punch to put his man on the floor.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden continues to fight back. And we have just witnessed a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34stunning upset here at the SECC because surely that man taking about

1:09:35 > 1:09:34in acknowledgement of the rapturous round of applause he is receiving

1:09:35 > 1:09:34has just in acknowledgement of the rapturous

1:09:35 > 1:09:34round of applause he is eliminated the world 's number one! Andrew

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Selby was issued a warning from the referee for continually having his

1:09:35 > 1:09:34mouthpiece dislodged. It came out four times, two warnings issued

1:09:35 > 1:09:34against him in the third and final round and the world number one

1:09:35 > 1:09:34staring on in disbelief across the ring at the man who is surely his

1:09:35 > 1:09:34conqueror. McFadden has issued a real upset, although we have to wait

1:09:35 > 1:09:34for confirmation. I have never seen anything like that with the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34gumshield problem. Let's take nothing away from McFadden who boxed

1:09:35 > 1:09:34his way through this contest. Ladies and gentlemen, we have our

1:09:35 > 1:09:34scorecards. All three judges, a unanimous decision. In the ring...

1:09:35 > 1:09:34McFadden. We have just witnessed a monumental upset. The teenager

1:09:35 > 1:09:34wearing red. The home boxer Rhys McFadden from Motherwell. Takes

1:09:35 > 1:09:34about an acknowledgement of the applause he is receiving. Exiting

1:09:35 > 1:09:34stage left is Andrew Selby, the world number one has been eliminated

1:09:35 > 1:09:34by a unanimous points decision by this young man who produced an

1:09:35 > 1:09:34inspired display to defeat and dislodge the world number one from

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the Commonwealth boxing tournament at 52 kilograms. Two warnings were

1:09:35 > 1:09:34issued against Selby in the third and final round for the mouthpiece

1:09:35 > 1:09:34being dislodged throughout the contest. It is illegal. It wasn't

1:09:35 > 1:09:34being dislodged by punches, it appeared to be an ill fitting

1:09:35 > 1:09:34device. A huge upset in the boxing. McFadden

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Knox out Andrew Selby, one of the big favourites. We will bring you

1:09:35 > 1:09:34plenty more throughout the course of the next ten days. We have got

1:09:35 > 1:09:34plenty of time, we can take it easy. It is all going very well so far. I

1:09:35 > 1:09:34hope you all enjoyed our presentation on the stage and our

1:09:35 > 1:09:34chat with the boys from the radiophonic workshop. Thank you for

1:09:35 > 1:09:34all the texts and tweets we have been receiving. We will bring you

1:09:35 > 1:09:34some snack news before the end tonight. Letters know what you are

1:09:35 > 1:09:34nibbling. Some very interesting taste sensations going on this

1:09:35 > 1:09:34evening. We have been looking for your Commonwelfies throughout the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34competition. A good moody face there. We have plenty of rugby

1:09:35 > 1:09:34sevens over the weekend for you. This is from the swimming. A lovely

1:09:35 > 1:09:34tartan cap. A significant thumbs up. This is taken with Clyde who is the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34official mascot of the games. We had some netball earlier on. It has been

1:09:35 > 1:09:34one of the star attractions over the course of the first two days. Six

1:09:35 > 1:09:34teams in two pools. The top teams in each pool eventually go through into

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the semifinals and then to the final. Australia are the top seed

1:09:35 > 1:09:34followed by New Zealand and England who think they have a real chance of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34catching the top two and gaining a gold or silver medal in these

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Commonwealth Games. Earlier on, we watched England play Wales in a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34preliminary match to find out what the netball Macek was all about. --

1:09:35 > 1:09:34magic. England taking on Wales, let's do this. This clash gets

1:09:35 > 1:09:34England's campaign underway. Lovely skills and it falls nicely and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34another goal. Caught fairly wide and close. Little mistake from distance

1:09:35 > 1:09:34and England have an eight goal lead already. Good shot. Plenty of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34height. England have dominated Wales. Struggling to find their

1:09:35 > 1:09:34shooting boots. At the end of the first quarter England are showing

1:09:35 > 1:09:34everybody why they are third in the world. They lead Wales by 17-7. We

1:09:35 > 1:09:34know that they are going to come harder. Make sure that everything

1:09:35 > 1:09:34including the Centre pass is all clean through. The second phase of

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the centre pass is costly to England at the moment. Strong communication

1:09:35 > 1:09:34from Prichard. Lewis again. Trying to find her shooting partner. She

1:09:35 > 1:09:34does. A great turn of speed, using the goal-line run. Should score,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34does score. England are firmly in control, they lead 29-10. I have

1:09:35 > 1:09:34been reliably informed that Stacey Francis from England has a famous

1:09:35 > 1:09:34father. We are going to go and find him. Wales need a massive

1:09:35 > 1:09:34improvement. England now lead by 20. Rachel Dunn, on at half-time gets

1:09:35 > 1:09:34her first shot on target. England are putting a lot of pressure on the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34second phase of the Welsh centre pass. Letting that ball go out.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Lovely play from England. Good understanding. Straight into her

1:09:35 > 1:09:34hands. Going through one of those rocky patches in the game. Handling

1:09:35 > 1:09:34errors. That is interesting for Corbin. The lead is now 28.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34England's best quarter so far. 19 half and -- 19 five. Ladies and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34gentlemen, I present to you the one and only super Kevin Francis. You

1:09:35 > 1:09:34must be very proud. I am. The leaps and bounds she has made in the sport

1:09:35 > 1:09:34are phenomenal. I had a go on the BBC website and it said that I am

1:09:35 > 1:09:34perfectly suited for netball. Is that the case? Netball and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34basketball. With my age, it now spits me out at Badminton. If there

1:09:35 > 1:09:34was a male netball side, would you be goal defence or goal attack? I

1:09:35 > 1:09:34don't mind. Apparently, all of the cool cats call netball netters, so

1:09:35 > 1:09:34in the netters England are leading. They will be pleased with that

1:09:35 > 1:09:34passage of play in the mid-court area. Anna Mae is clearly a coach

1:09:35 > 1:09:34who wanted to get the match won before tinkering with her side. That

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is the end of the match. England have put Wales to the sword. They

1:09:35 > 1:09:34have beaten them comfortably, dominating throughout. Final score,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34England 65-25 Wales. England dominant over Wales but the big

1:09:35 > 1:09:34winners tomorrow. Australia, the world number one team in netball, or

1:09:35 > 1:09:34netters. How was that for you? It was amazing. The crowd got us

1:09:35 > 1:09:34through. It is a great feeling to get the nerves out and it was great.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34I think we started strong, it was something we wanted to do. We built

1:09:35 > 1:09:34throughout the game. Really happy with how it went. We need to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34apologise. We were talking to your dad and we got a message saying that

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Stacey wants your dad to watch you play netball. It is super emotional,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34I had to keep checking myself. I was aware that he was in the audience

1:09:35 > 1:09:34and when he was not in his original seat, I could not find him and I

1:09:35 > 1:09:34went over and asked him where were you? Which was pathetic! England

1:09:35 > 1:09:34taking Australia tomorrow. I think it is 9:30am. One thing we have had

1:09:35 > 1:09:34running today is our little snack news, you tell others what you have

1:09:35 > 1:09:34been nibbling. People eating various things tonight. Kevlar has gone for

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Bombay mix. Cornflakes with evaporated milk, she knows how to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34party. Mini ice creams all-round. Geraint has cheese and ham some

1:09:35 > 1:09:34witches with salt and vinegar crisps. White chocolate and

1:09:35 > 1:09:34strawberry cake, a couple of lagers. Well done to everyone. A bit of fun.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34There is a lot of sport on as well. Later on, we will be chatting to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Mark Chapman. We are going to show you some boxing now. Flyweight.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Ronald and Richie are by the ring. COMMENTATOR: This 52 kilograms five

1:09:35 > 1:09:34flyweight contest. Northern Ireland against Zambia. Both boxing from the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34orthodox stands. Christopher Katanga is 25 years of age. A four-time

1:09:35 > 1:09:34reigning African champion of his country. Christopher Katanga just

1:09:35 > 1:09:34blocking those two shots from Bolton effectively. Dalton went along with

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the right hand and was tripped by the left leg of Christopher Katanga.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Good right hand from Bolton. Causes Katanga to become a little bit

1:09:35 > 1:09:34dishevelled. I think Dalton has got to land the right hand a little bit

1:09:35 > 1:09:34more often. Especially when Katanga is moving away from him. Katanga has

1:09:35 > 1:09:34two keep his hands nice and high. He does some good stuff but when he

1:09:35 > 1:09:34moves away he seems to be a little bit open. When he breaks away from

1:09:35 > 1:09:34these exchanges, he has got to keep his guard up. The right hand is what

1:09:35 > 1:09:34he has to concentrate on. Dolphin has had repeated success with his

1:09:35 > 1:09:34right cross. -- Good right hand again once more from

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Dalton. That has been a profitable punch throughout the course of this

1:09:35 > 1:09:34round so far. Katanga seems to have success with the right hand of his

1:09:35 > 1:09:34own. round so far. Katanga seems to have

1:09:35 > 1:09:34success with the right It is mainly single shots coming from Katanga,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the Zambian. Are pretty strong end to the opening round for the man

1:09:35 > 1:09:34from the holy Trinity club. I think they will be fairly pleased

1:09:35 > 1:09:34in that corner, there was some good work from Dalton, especially with

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the right hand. That was probably Katanga's best punch of the round,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the right hand. And the judges have all gone for Dalton. The ten point

1:09:35 > 1:09:34must system is ineffective. His name and trade indelibly etched forever

1:09:35 > 1:09:34onto his left arm. The man wearing red, representing

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Northern Ireland, Ruairi Dalton. His opponent Christopher Katanga is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34competing in his second Commonwealth Games, having boxed in Delhi four

1:09:35 > 1:09:34years ago in the 49 kilograms light flyweight class. He was eliminated

1:09:35 > 1:09:34in the first round in that particular tournament so is hoping

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to go one better here but he has just conceded the opening round in

1:09:35 > 1:09:34unanimous fashion. It is three scores used, their rough I've judges

1:09:35 > 1:09:34at ringside, all of them implementing the ten point must

1:09:35 > 1:09:34system. Dalton has exposed a couple of faults here in Katanga, he keeps

1:09:35 > 1:09:34leaning forward, trying to land the right hand and falling short because

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Dalton adjust his feet, moves back and brings him onto a left hook. It

1:09:35 > 1:09:34is good boxing. Dalton has better mobility. He makes Katanga fall

1:09:35 > 1:09:34short with the right hand again. Falling short once more as you

1:09:35 > 1:09:34described. And the mouthpiece of Katanga has become dislodged. It

1:09:35 > 1:09:34will have to be rinsed and reinserted. It is an infringement he

1:09:35 > 1:09:34will not want to see occur too many times because it can cost you an

1:09:35 > 1:09:34infraction. With that system we were referring

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to, five judges all using it but three selected at random the bike

1:09:35 > 1:09:34computer before the opening bell, it is those three scores that are used

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to officiate the contest. -- at random by a computer.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Katanga going downstairs effectively. He has a dangerous

1:09:35 > 1:09:34right hand and he needs to throw it more in that, nation and maybe a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34left hook after it. Dalton should just concentrate on adjusting his

1:09:35 > 1:09:34left hook after it. Dalton should feet and making his opponent miss

1:09:35 > 1:09:34and then come back Competitive exchanges towards the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34conclusion of this second round. Dalton is to keep the movement

1:09:35 > 1:09:34going. When he slows his feet up, Katanga does well. That was an

1:09:35 > 1:09:34example of Katanga missing with the right hand and Dalton coming back

1:09:35 > 1:09:34with a long left. When he holes his feet, it gives Katanga... That was a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34superb shot going downstairs. Clever boxing from Dalton. Katanga is not

1:09:35 > 1:09:34out of this, he is still dangerous. Another unanimous round for Dalton.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34But make no mistake, that second round was competitive and this man

1:09:35 > 1:09:34will know he is two rounds down so don't be surprised if we see an

1:09:35 > 1:09:34altogether faster start to the don't be surprised if we see an

1:09:35 > 1:09:34altogether faster start to final round by the man from Zambia.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Striding straight out to centre ring and firing lefts and rights is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Christopher Katanga from Zambia who is trailing two rounds to nil after

1:09:35 > 1:09:34two completed rounds. Dalton trying to walk and counter. Katanga is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34getting through with shots of his own. His corner will know he is

1:09:35 > 1:09:34behind so they will have said to him to go all out and get after your

1:09:35 > 1:09:34man, walk him down. It may suit Dalton as long as he can keep

1:09:35 > 1:09:34adjusting his feet. Not engaging but staying on the back foot and he

1:09:35 > 1:09:34should find the target a bit easier. If he stands and trades, it

1:09:35 > 1:09:34brings Katanga into it and it makes it interesting. Katanga is a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34four-time national Zambian champion, this year and in 2012 at

1:09:35 > 1:09:3452 kilograms, the weight class in which she is competing now. In 2010

1:09:35 > 1:09:34it was at 49 kilograms and in 2009 at 48 kilograms.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34The man from Northern Ireland team to initiate a clinch to allow his

1:09:35 > 1:09:34head to clear. That was a reminder from Katanga that he is still

1:09:35 > 1:09:34ambitious and he wants to win this. Clever boxing from Dalton on the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34back foot but he has to keep his concentration level very high indeed

1:09:35 > 1:09:34until the bell goes. Someone like Katanga is looking for that single

1:09:35 > 1:09:34shot and it is dangerous. Dalton began this round why

1:09:35 > 1:09:34maintaining his distance and boxing on the back foot. He should not be

1:09:35 > 1:09:34taking the risks here, it is good for Katanga. He is finding the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34target. Dalton is as brave as they come and wants to finish on a high.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34What a shot on the inside, super. Katanga knows that he needs a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34stoppage to force a victory. Dalton has played his part in what has been

1:09:35 > 1:09:34a highly entertaining and competitive third and final round.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Little doubt that Rory Dolton will prevail after leading by two rounds

1:09:35 > 1:09:34to nil -- Ruairi Dalton. That was the best shot of the contest, the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34uppercut on the inside. What a punch that was. Super.

1:09:35 > 1:09:34The winner by unanimous decision and through to the next round, in the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34red corner, representing Northern Ireland, Rory Doll to an -- Rory

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Dolton. -- Ruairi Dalton. Dalton acknowledges the crowd here at the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34SECC after prevailing by a points victory in unanimous fashion over

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the Zambian champion Christopher Katanga. He is through to the next

1:09:35 > 1:09:34round. Dalton of Northern Ireland into the last 16. Mark Chapman,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34everybody. 10:40pm, BBC1, shall we have a walk down your red carpet,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34what is on the show? It was a bumper first show thanks to the judo who

1:09:35 > 1:09:34gave a whole lot of medals and they have done the same so all of the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34judo medallists will be on tonight. We have Ian Thorpe and Victoria

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Pendleton to provide expertise. And it was about siblings last night,

1:09:35 > 1:09:34lots of brothers and sisters so we are going down proud father route

1:09:35 > 1:09:34tonight which will include netball and rhythmic gymnastics. And will

1:09:35 > 1:09:34you be wandering to the bar as well? Yes, the audience were very good

1:09:35 > 1:09:34last night so hopefully the same tonight. I will make use of the

1:09:35 > 1:09:34cocktail barman tonight. Is it meant to be a Commonwealth cocktail? Yes

1:09:35 > 1:09:34but we ran out of time! He will make wanton night. -- he will make a

1:09:35 > 1:09:34cocktail tonight. Gentlemen, are you ready? We are ready if you are

1:09:35 > 1:09:34ready. Let's go! FUNK MUSIC. I am pleased they don't

1:09:35 > 1:09:34hold a grudge for me getting their name wrong! And they are going to

1:09:35 > 1:09:34lend me a belt to night! You are buttoned up.

1:09:35 > 1:09:3410:40pm on BBC1. We will let you get ready. There he goes, watch him down

1:09:35 > 1:09:34the red carpet, a consummate professional! Maybe a slightly

1:09:35 > 1:09:34longer trouser leg. As well as the audience, there one more thing I

1:09:35 > 1:09:34want to show you. We have been a lot on the River Clyde tonight because

1:09:35 > 1:09:34Friday night is dinghy night as you know. Tomorrow we are on air from

1:09:35 > 1:09:349am on BBC Three and on BBC1. A site that has never been seen before, 250

1:09:35 > 1:09:34never see again in your lifetime. And on top of all that tomorrow we

1:09:35 > 1:09:34as well. I hope you have enjoyed it this evening -- rugby sevens. From

1:09:35 > 1:09:35BBC Three, good night.
