:00:42. > :00:47.Welcome to BBC3's coverage of the games.

:00:48. > :00:53.There are 25 gold medals up for grabs and 7 of

:00:54. > :00:57.That's the stats but let?s see the smiles because yesterday was another

:00:58. > :01:13.England have a bronze medal with Jessica Taylor. There is your

:01:14. > :01:27.Commonwealth champion by a country mile. What that must mean, well

:01:28. > :01:36.done, Greg. He has just landed on a gold medal. They are Commonwealth

:01:37. > :01:40.champions. That is exactly what England ordered.

:01:41. > :01:42.Great news for England who now top the table.

:01:43. > :01:45.They have one less medal than Australia but they have three more

:01:46. > :01:51.Canada are still third from Scotland and Wales just sit outside

:01:52. > :02:06.Northern Ireland are guaranteed nine medals in the boxing.

:02:07. > :02:09.And already there are medals in the offing at Kelvingrove Park.

:02:10. > :02:12.Over on BBC1 in they are gearing up for the bronze medal match

:02:13. > :02:18.We'll be at Glasgow Green as England's men look to secure

:02:19. > :02:20.progression to the semi-final stage of the hockey

:02:21. > :02:30.It is day two of diving at the Royal Commonwealth Pool

:02:31. > :02:33.in Edinburgh, we'll be seeing the preliminary round

:02:34. > :02:45.And we'll be keeping an eye on the men's individual time trial.

:02:46. > :02:51.David Millar from Scotland is a favourite for gold.

:02:52. > :02:54.But we start with hockey and a big game for England's men.

:02:55. > :02:57.Despite defeat to New Zealand on Tuesday, it still looks good for

:02:58. > :03:00.England reaching the semifinals as long as they don't lose to Canada.

:03:01. > :03:27.Your commentators are Matt Chilton and Sean Kerly.

:03:28. > :03:36.England have conceded only for Mac goals in the three previous round

:03:37. > :03:50.robin preliminary matches. Canada have been more leaky. -- four goals.

:03:51. > :03:57.England will be attacking the gold to our right waving the white shots.

:03:58. > :04:12.They have changed the bottom half to grey shorts and socks. The umpires

:04:13. > :04:19.are ready to go. Canada are just a couple of seconds off the pace.

:04:20. > :04:20.are ready to go. Canada are just a are underway. England are playing

:04:21. > :04:54.Canada, the possession. This is Ashley Jackson

:04:55. > :05:21.for England, he is the penalty corner specialist.

:05:22. > :06:05.Canada are quickly forward when defending.

:06:06. > :06:13.Penalty corner as it came off a red foot. England's first opportunity to

:06:14. > :06:16.get off the mark. Canada are putting pressure on England high up the

:06:17. > :06:23.pitch but that means there are spaces behind. That was a great ball

:06:24. > :06:25.through to Martin. He took his time and picked out a defender fit for

:06:26. > :06:38.the first penalty corner. and picked out a defender fit for

:06:39. > :06:49.defender's foot. That was Jackson

:06:50. > :07:14.The ball was defended by the That was Jackson

:07:15. > :07:24.Jackson. He has scored five goals so far this tournament.

:07:25. > :07:34.I think the umpires are making it clear that they won't take any

:07:35. > :07:36.nonsense. Canada lost a chance for possession because they took the

:07:37. > :07:52.free hit miles away from where they were supposed to.

:07:53. > :08:37.That was good work from Mark Pearson, the number 19. He got

:08:38. > :08:39.himself out of trouble. The service was not as good. That is behind for

:08:40. > :08:54.an England ball. England, I think, have got too much

:08:55. > :08:55.in the locker. They have more skill and they have got Ashley Jackson

:08:56. > :09:29.whose corners have been so good. This is number 202 for David Jameson

:09:30. > :10:15.of Canada. -- cap number 202. That was good work from Barry

:10:16. > :10:19.Middleton, he lifted it up above the red stick. The England captain, such

:10:20. > :11:12.a threat pushing forward. England's enjoying plenty of

:11:13. > :11:29.possession in the first seven minutes of this match.

:11:30. > :11:38.That is a relief of pressure from England. He is noting something he

:11:39. > :11:43.wants to see to the boys at half-time. England are pressuring

:11:44. > :11:45.Canada at the back and the Canadian defence are holding out at the

:11:46. > :11:54.moment. Bouncing ball, not far away from a

:11:55. > :12:28.Canadian stick in the circle. Canadian possession. Both teams have

:12:29. > :12:33.different positions. Canada have two force something if they have any

:12:34. > :12:36.ambition about making the semifinals. Impossible is not the

:12:37. > :12:43.word but it is unlikely. They need eight goals which is a huge ask.

:12:44. > :12:50.England need to limit the damage because they are already through in

:12:51. > :12:54.effect. Parade and setting up a good game in next performance,

:12:55. > :13:45.confidence, it is very important in this tournament.

:13:46. > :13:53.Good work to Canada on the left but it will be England's ball.

:13:54. > :14:02.That is Paul Bundy, assistant coach for Canada on the bench.

:14:03. > :14:20.England had men forward. Simon Mantell winning 132. -- cap number

:14:21. > :14:33.132. I did not like the hate of it across

:14:34. > :14:38.the suckle. It was a dangerous cross. There are some very

:14:39. > :15:17.encouraging one twos into the area. advances, working on possession deep

:15:18. > :15:31.from round the pitch. Barry Middleton flawed... Floored.

:15:32. > :16:20.really. That is Canada's Ball, a chance to rebuild.

:16:21. > :16:29.An attempt to put some pressure on the England defence, good work from

:16:30. > :16:36.Simon Mantell. Catlin, he returns it to Mantell.

:16:37. > :16:42.A swing and a miss, but Catlin is trying to produce something more.

:16:43. > :16:46.Nice turn. To the edges again and behind.

:16:47. > :16:52.That is England at their best, really. That is when the classically

:16:53. > :16:53.attack and with pace. They have fast forwards and a fast midfield and

:16:54. > :17:03.they manage to find lots David Condon, who lives in an

:17:04. > :17:28.attacking position for England now. England, camped out in the Canadian

:17:29. > :17:32.The ball finding its way all the way through, a little deflection, and

:17:33. > :17:35.Michael Hoare, near post, often best to put it across the goal, at least

:17:36. > :17:42.make the goalkeeper save it. to put it across the goal, at least

:17:43. > :17:49.Ho-Garcia unable to to put it across the goal, at least

:17:50. > :17:51.from. No doubt he will be called to put it across the goal, at least

:17:52. > :17:57.forward for some more, or to put it across the goal, at least

:17:58. > :18:05.With the rolling to put it across the goal, at least

:18:06. > :18:11.per game so far, England have done 55, if anyone out there is

:18:12. > :18:18.interested in those kinds of stats. Good from Fox, Middleton unable to

:18:19. > :18:31.make contact, this Good from Fox, Middleton unable to

:18:32. > :18:36.Yes, it ended up in Mark Gleghorne's stick. The ball just

:18:37. > :18:38.pops off his stake, looked like he could not miss. That is unlucky.

:18:39. > :18:42.I think he got a slap could not miss. That is unlucky.

:18:43. > :18:48.as well, from the goalkeeper's padded glove. Elbow.

:18:49. > :18:53.Yes, he has done some damage there, the elbow or wrist.

:18:54. > :19:16.He has gone off the field of play for the moment.

:19:17. > :19:25.Scoreless here, as Canada go higher. It shows how well England are

:19:26. > :19:29.playing defensively at the moment, they are pressing them, cutting out

:19:30. > :19:33.all the midfield passes. There is nothing on for Canada other than

:19:34. > :19:36.just to chop it up the other end and give it back to England. -- chuck it

:19:37. > :19:51.up. England are happy to just pass it

:19:52. > :20:02.around amongst themselves until there is a forward moving

:20:03. > :20:07.opportunity. Lewers forward, Middleton takes it, short pass. Good

:20:08. > :20:20.movement forward this time from Phil Roper. Penalty corner for England.

:20:21. > :20:25.Lewers -- Willars winning that corner for the deliberate foul. He

:20:26. > :20:29.is playing football, isn't he quit you might he cannot do that, that is

:20:30. > :20:34.a deliberate foul, obviously a penalty corner. Number two for

:20:35. > :20:47.England. So, Iain Lewers striding over.

:20:48. > :20:52.Jackson is on the bench, so we have Roper and Catlin.

:20:53. > :20:58.Jackson will have to watch this one. Catlin, number ten, Roper, number

:20:59. > :20:59.15. It is Roper.

:21:00. > :21:08.Saved. Back in the shooting circle, but

:21:09. > :21:10.cleared by Canada. And they are containing England at

:21:11. > :21:20.the moment. Yes, good save from David Carter. He

:21:21. > :21:29.is going to be key for Canada this morning. He has done well this

:21:30. > :21:31.tournament, not let into many goals. England are mounting pressure and

:21:32. > :21:37.you cannot help feeling that in the end something is going to happen.

:21:38. > :21:51.Lewers to his left. Fox goes forward.

:21:52. > :22:00.Yes, the umpire has blown because there is protective gear on the

:22:01. > :22:05.field of play. That is the penalty corner defence

:22:06. > :22:10.kick. They rip it off and chuck it behind,

:22:11. > :22:15.but sometimes it doesn't find where it needs to go, so they have to

:22:16. > :22:20.start with a bully. Canada giving back possession, rightly so, and the

:22:21. > :22:30.game continues. 0-0 into the second quarter of the

:22:31. > :22:34.match. Panesar has possession for Canada. Surrounded by three blue

:22:35. > :22:42.shirts, trying to get a stick on the ball.

:22:43. > :22:49.Some control for Canada, back to Panesar.

:22:50. > :22:57.That is a nice little flick forward, aimed for Curran. He puts his stick

:22:58. > :23:06.on the ground and gets hit in now. Taylor Curran, the Canadian 29.

:23:07. > :23:09.The Canadians must get the basics right if they are to cause England

:23:10. > :23:14.any trouble here as the rain starts to fall. We knew it would come, we

:23:15. > :23:16.hoped it would not come quite so early or a quite so heavily, but it

:23:17. > :23:33.is chucking it down now. Full. A bit of a Canadian sandwich that,

:23:34. > :23:36.one of the players still down, the Canadian number 26, Matthew Guest,

:23:37. > :23:45.has stayed down and I think he is in a bit of distress.

:23:46. > :23:54.Guest has hurt his ribs, I think. Yes, he got a crunch from both sides

:23:55. > :24:04.there. Well, this rain, it makes the pitch

:24:05. > :24:07.a bit more wet and slows it down, and it would necessarily suit

:24:08. > :24:10.England. They like to visit the ball around.

:24:11. > :24:13.There is Jackson! He has gone over the top.

:24:14. > :24:19.That is the second time Jackson has had an opportunity and years kicking

:24:20. > :24:29.himself at the moment. Good boys, good balance -- good poise, he will

:24:30. > :24:31.be hitting himself. The first clear scoring opportunity

:24:32. > :24:42.for Ashley Jackson. That looks like another wrist, that

:24:43. > :24:43.is to wrist -- two wrists. Guest for Canada receiving

:24:44. > :25:07.treatment. Lewers. He has been injecting the

:25:08. > :25:11.penalty corners so far this game for England. Yes, just being patient

:25:12. > :25:19.with the ball, trying to move Canada across the pitch and then find some

:25:20. > :25:22.spaces down on the top of the D. Long run in, looking for a penalty

:25:23. > :25:24.corner parameters behind, it will be a long corner for England to be

:25:25. > :25:30.taken by Harry Martin. The little attempted turn and go for

:25:31. > :25:52.Adam Dixon, but he was held up. High ball. Well controlled by

:25:53. > :25:58.Pereira. Nice touch from him and a good pass, as well. Canada heading

:25:59. > :26:03.towards the D. Jackson back to recover some poise for England and

:26:04. > :26:12.he has made up quite a few metres, Ashley Jackson. He just loses out.

:26:13. > :26:26.Pereira down the left. Just a little too strong.

:26:27. > :26:56.high. Nice move from Lewers, a decent pass

:26:57. > :27:00.to Harry Martin. Martin all the way to the edge and he goes to the

:27:01. > :27:04.corner, around the outside and back into a solid position. Encouraging

:27:05. > :27:10.signs from England. Michael Hoare, back to Ashley Jackson.

:27:11. > :27:17.Good turn from Harry Martin, still going. He gets a shot on goal, but

:27:18. > :27:24.the defence is solid. Jackson looking for the pass a cross. Solid,

:27:25. > :27:30.robust defence all the way through this first half by the Canadians.

:27:31. > :27:35.England putting huge pressure on Canada, they are still yet to break.

:27:36. > :27:41.Eight shots to nil, but they do not count at the end of the game, they

:27:42. > :27:44.need goals. Canada just about hanging on at the moment.

:27:45. > :27:48.I am happy to report that the man who went off with the wrist injury

:27:49. > :27:52.for England, Mark Gleghorne, is poised to return to the field. He

:27:53. > :27:59.has had some treatment and is happy to resume play.

:28:00. > :28:06.There he is, Gleghorne, on the right standing alongside a bit Condon, who

:28:07. > :28:18.is also about to come on. -- David Condon.

:28:19. > :28:35.Lots of communication between the Canadians, but unfortunately for the

:28:36. > :28:35.red shirts the pass was poor. That

:28:36. > :28:59.red shirts the pass was poor. the game.

:29:00. > :29:14.free it this time. What a goal!

:29:15. > :29:19.That is more What a goal!

:29:20. > :29:21.scored by Ashley Jackson. That has been coming for some time

:29:22. > :29:25.now. That has been coming for some time

:29:26. > :29:29.mounting, lovely little bit of work there, Iqbal income he made the move

:29:30. > :29:36.and smashes the ball across. Jackson diving on that reverse stick. Get a

:29:37. > :29:38.beautiful touch, lifts it over the keeper

:29:39. > :29:44.game and England have broken the deadlock.

:29:45. > :29:47.Cracking score by Ashley Jackson, his sixth goal of the tournament. He

:29:48. > :29:52.is having an excellent Commonwealth Games.

:29:53. > :30:09.England one, Canada nil. The last ten minutes of the half.

:30:10. > :30:14.England are off the mark. That it should settle them down. Canada can

:30:15. > :30:17.see the tiny should settle them down. Canada can

:30:18. > :30:28.further into the distance. Canada needed nine goals now.

:30:29. > :30:34.The Canadians will be hoping to get some scoring opportunities in the

:30:35. > :30:51.last nine minutes of this first half.

:30:52. > :31:00.England is trying to push it towards the goal. Canada ball. I thought

:31:01. > :31:07.they had the birdies in there. Canada managed to scramble it away.

:31:08. > :31:12.-- the birdies. So far, George Pinner has had

:31:13. > :31:59.nothing to do in the England goal. Mark Gleghorne was dispossessed and

:32:00. > :33:45.Mark Jackson will take the free hit deep inside Canadian territory.

:33:46. > :33:57.Canada are quite lively down the right-hand side. Good stick control

:33:58. > :34:00.from Curran. That is the best period that Canada have had. They kept

:34:01. > :34:35.possession and strong some passes together. He will miss the next two

:34:36. > :34:41.minutes. He will be back in time for the conclusion of this first car.

:34:42. > :34:58.England should it go and get a penalty corner. -- England shoot.

:34:59. > :35:04.There was plenty of England shorts in the circle to get the rebound.

:35:05. > :35:14.Ashley Jackson is on the field so they can have a go at this. He is

:35:15. > :35:15.the penalty corner specialist. Jackson has already scored from open

:35:16. > :35:31.play. That was just over the top. Quite a

:35:32. > :35:38.way over the top in fact. Perhaps his soul rest is impeding his play.

:35:39. > :35:43.He stood aside and let click on have a shot. Lots of power but very

:35:44. > :36:05.little direction. Canada have just over four minutes

:36:06. > :36:42.to try to get something from this half. That was good stick work.

:36:43. > :36:51.England will hope for another penalty corner and that is what they

:36:52. > :36:56.have got. Canadian foot on the ball. Green card for Canada. England have

:36:57. > :37:01.forced two penalty corner is when they have had only ten players. Some

:37:02. > :37:12.mistakes creeping in. He just overran the ball, Keegan Pereira

:37:13. > :37:16.just putting his foot on it. Very easy for England. England have

:37:17. > :37:22.experimented at the penalty corner stage so far. I wonder who will get

:37:23. > :37:33.a crack at this one? Only one option this time, to Dixon. Jackson, along

:37:34. > :37:34.the turf and behind. They were looking for the deflection for Lewis

:37:35. > :38:18.to get it. Jackson He is quick, Gabriel Hall Garcia. He

:38:19. > :38:37.is 21 and a great prospect for the Canadian team in the future.

:38:38. > :38:47.is 21 and a great prospect for the the last 90 seconds of the half.

:38:48. > :38:55.Jackson will get the free hit. That was a shoulder charge. Alastair

:38:56. > :39:02.Brogdon bullied off the ball. Penalty corner coming for England.

:39:03. > :39:07.Little triangles being played by England, moving the ball across and

:39:08. > :39:14.getting into the circle the opposite way, causing great problems for the

:39:15. > :39:17.Canadian defence. Pressure is beginning to tell and mistakes are

:39:18. > :39:22.coming more regularly in the Canadian defence. The ball jumped up

:39:23. > :39:33.coming more regularly in the each other's way. No joy so far from

:39:34. > :39:34.the penalty corner set piece. This will be the final attack of the

:39:35. > :39:50.half. Still no luck. Missing the target,

:39:51. > :39:57.very unusual for Ashley Jackson. He is being tested. They are 0-5 which

:39:58. > :40:08.That ends the first period of play is pretty unusual.

:40:09. > :40:16.That ends the first period of play here. One single goal separates the

:40:17. > :40:20.two sides. It came from an excellent goal from Ashley Jackson. England

:40:21. > :40:32.1-0 Canada at half-time. We will be back for the second half

:40:33. > :40:38.of that match. We will be catching up on the men's time trial is on the

:40:39. > :40:42.very wet streets of Glasgow. That is why we are inside. Let us take a

:40:43. > :40:46.look at David Millar from Scotland because he is bound to get one of

:40:47. > :40:55.the biggest cheers on the roads today.

:40:56. > :41:04.When you look at your back story, where you have came from, Time out

:41:05. > :41:06.the sport, coming back, it is interesting the way that Scotland

:41:07. > :41:13.approached you and welcome to give back into the sport. In adversity

:41:14. > :41:18.you find your true friends and that is the case with Scotland. They came

:41:19. > :41:23.through and supported me through everything. During my suspension, I

:41:24. > :41:29.spent time in Edinburgh with friends. I realise that I was coming

:41:30. > :41:34.home. It was one place I felt at home because people were so kind to

:41:35. > :41:43.me. It is my home country, my homeland. I feel very proud to be

:41:44. > :41:49.part of team. David Millar is the Commonwealth Games champion and gold

:41:50. > :41:56.medal winner. The first Scot ever to win a gold medal on the road! You

:41:57. > :42:04.have one big races, big stages, time trials. The victory in India, what

:42:05. > :42:11.did it mean? I had not expected it to be as big. I had done the World

:42:12. > :42:17.Championships and finished second. In India, it felt a lot different.

:42:18. > :42:23.It felt honest and real. It felt more sincere. It is the first time I

:42:24. > :42:31.had ever raced in a Scotland jersey and I did not expect the effect it

:42:32. > :42:36.would have on me. To win, it was something very unexpected. The time

:42:37. > :42:40.trial is very different to the one in India, what do you make of the

:42:41. > :42:45.course and the big challenge coming in from Australia and England, it

:42:46. > :42:51.could be no more different from India. One of the hardest I have

:42:52. > :42:57.ever done. Here, I do not think we have got a straight line and it

:42:58. > :43:01.suits me well. It is quite revealing and you cannot picture head down and

:43:02. > :43:06.look at the numbers on your machine. Follow your heart rate and power

:43:07. > :43:13.out. It will be explosive and diverse. It should make a good race.

:43:14. > :43:19.You are retiring at the end of this year, it brings different emotions,

:43:20. > :43:24.doesn't it? I do not know how much difference it makes. I and

:43:25. > :43:28.performance driven here. I trained hard and am feeling good. I am

:43:29. > :43:34.trying to disengage from everything else that is happening. When I found

:43:35. > :43:38.out I would not be doing the tour in France, it made me feel more focused

:43:39. > :43:47.for the right reasons, to be at my best. What will it be like riding

:43:48. > :43:53.around the roads of Glasgow? At the National Championships I had had

:43:54. > :43:59.never had so much support. My family are here. My final race will be in

:44:00. > :44:01.front of the Glaswegian crowd. I have any memories of Glasgow. It is

:44:02. > :44:14.quite poetic and a full circle. It has been a roller-coaster for

:44:15. > :44:18.David Millar. He will be hoping for an easy ride this afternoon and we

:44:19. > :44:24.wish him well. We have been joined by a bronze medal winning wrestler.

:44:25. > :44:29.The first time Scotland won a wrestling medal for over 20 years.

:44:30. > :44:38.Thank you so much for joining us. Has it sunk in yet? Not quite yet.

:44:39. > :44:42.Too soon. It will take a few days. How did you celebrate? It was a

:44:43. > :44:48.quiet night. I try to get some sleep but it did not happen. I was up at

:44:49. > :44:56.five a.m.. It was a big battle but some incredible celebrations. I did

:44:57. > :45:03.not plan to celebrate as such. It was instantaneous. You looked

:45:04. > :45:10.exhausted, wiped out. At that point, I was happy, full of happiness more

:45:11. > :45:16.than anything else. This is very impressive. We do know that your

:45:17. > :45:21.wife, Laura Davies, is a former Scottish gymnast. Has she been

:45:22. > :45:29.helping? No, she was not happy with me with the somersault. She said it

:45:30. > :45:41.was not a perfect ten and I have to practice. I said, you try and do it

:45:42. > :45:45.after a day wrestling! What are your expectations coming

:45:46. > :45:51.into the Commonwealth Games? My expectations were always high, to

:45:52. > :45:58.raise the bar high. There were so many times I came so close, this was

:45:59. > :46:04.a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Whatever will be will be, but I am

:46:05. > :46:07.not going medal -- going away without a medal.

:46:08. > :46:12.You live in Aberdeen sure but you have not always been in Scotland,

:46:13. > :46:17.you are from Moldova. Tell us about how you arrived in Scotland.

:46:18. > :46:22.It has been a long time, almost 16 years. I have to think about it. It

:46:23. > :46:29.has not been an easy ride, to be honest. I came here as a man, almost

:46:30. > :46:33.19, on my own, so obviously I find it difficult settling in. But it did

:46:34. > :46:38.not take me long. After a year or so I moved to Glasgow and met some

:46:39. > :46:41.friends and it happened I fell in love with the beautiful Scottish

:46:42. > :46:45.girl and the rest is history, really.

:46:46. > :46:49.You missed out on Manchester because you did not have a UK passport?

:46:50. > :46:55.Yes, at the time I was a couple of years into it and I was told I could

:46:56. > :47:01.apply and get the passport in time and hopefully compete at Manchester.

:47:02. > :47:07.It was perfect timing, I was 22, but it didn't happen. Looking back on

:47:08. > :47:12.it, I think certain things happen for the right reason. I don't regret

:47:13. > :47:19.it. I have been waiting for a long time to celebrate this and share my

:47:20. > :47:25.happiness with the rest of the folks in Scottish wrestling.

:47:26. > :47:28.You were in Delhi, but then you came out of retirement to come back to

:47:29. > :47:35.Glasgow, is that right? Yes, that is right, and to be honest

:47:36. > :47:42.I was in two minds. After Delhi I did not want to go near a mat as an

:47:43. > :47:46.athlete, at all. I had done everything I thought I could

:47:47. > :47:54.possibly do. I thought I was past my best. But then I had good people

:47:55. > :48:00.around me, like my family, the likes of Vladimir, who has been a friend

:48:01. > :48:05.and a coach who believed in me and said, you still have a lot to give.

:48:06. > :48:12.To be honest, I have a nine-year-old son who has been my biggest fan and

:48:13. > :48:16.he was trying to say to me, why are you coaching, not competing? I tried

:48:17. > :48:22.to explain to him the difficulties of being a coach and an athlete. I

:48:23. > :48:27.did not do so good, and I said, I think I have to do this one more for

:48:28. > :48:31.him than for anyone else. Tell us about the state of wrestling

:48:32. > :48:36.in Scotland. It is obviously huge in the country you came from, Moldova,

:48:37. > :48:39.less so there. It has been great it has been in the Commonwealth Games

:48:40. > :48:43.and there have been a huge crowd in to watch you, but I popular is

:48:44. > :48:47.wrestling becoming in Scotland, do you think?

:48:48. > :48:52.Hopefully after yesterday's and maybe today's events, wrestling will

:48:53. > :48:59.be somewhat more popular. I think it is just a case of getting people

:49:00. > :49:02.educated about the sport itself. There is just not enough coverage or

:49:03. > :49:10.interest. I think it is something to do with culture, when you have so

:49:11. > :49:15.much choice, football is the number-1 sport. We love football,

:49:16. > :49:20.and it is easy to do it, it is accessible. Wrestling is much the

:49:21. > :49:25.same. Any child who grows up, boy or girl, lost to wrestle their brother

:49:26. > :49:29.or sister, it is a natural thing. It is just having access to join a club

:49:30. > :49:34.or being exposed to the moment. That is what we have to excel at

:49:35. > :49:39.Scottish wrestling. Just briefly, you are going back to

:49:40. > :49:40.coach and now that is your career as a wrestler finished?

:49:41. > :49:44.Yes, I think so, I think so. a wrestler finished?

:49:45. > :49:49.stage I could not think of competing a wrestler finished?

:49:50. > :49:54.again on a front stage. People watching me. I think I have done

:49:55. > :49:57.good to end. That is a perfect way to finish.

:49:58. > :50:01.Thank you very much for joining us this morning, it has been lovely to

:50:02. > :50:01.talk to you. Canada and England

:50:02. > :50:07.talk to you. come it is the second half of the

:50:08. > :50:12.men's hockey, it is 1-0 to England. We can rejoin them, our commentators

:50:13. > :50:18.are mat children -- Matt Chilton and Sean Kerly.

:50:19. > :50:27.COMMENTATOR: Second half under way. England are now waiting for

:50:28. > :50:29.COMMENTATOR: Second half under way. He is listening to the PA

:50:30. > :50:30.COMMENTATOR: Second half under way. It started after the countdown was

:50:31. > :50:36.completed after the on-site It started after the countdown was

:50:37. > :50:47.who controlled the match. -- the on-site announcement.

:50:48. > :51:06.Right, I think we can start properly now.

:51:07. > :51:10.Right, I think we can start properly setback. This is

:51:11. > :51:14.Right, I think we can start properly from England, good shooting

:51:15. > :51:18.opportunity and it has found the back of the net courtesy of the

:51:19. > :51:23.captain, Barry Middleton. England two, Canada nil.

:51:24. > :51:31.Great fast hands here, two, Canada nil.

:51:32. > :51:34.Middleton gets one trap, doesn't quite get it first time but he is

:51:35. > :51:38.quicker than the Canadian defence and second time round and popped it

:51:39. > :51:44.in the goal. Good pressure from England, this time Canada could not

:51:45. > :51:53.Gleghorne holding it up. England, leading 2-0.

:51:54. > :52:01.Gleghorne holding it up. nice play.

:52:02. > :52:06.Gleghorne holding it up. He has made a run down the right

:52:07. > :52:11.hand side. Fox. Middleton.

:52:12. > :52:19.In space on the Right there, England.

:52:20. > :52:31.Gleghorne flicks it in. Inside the circle, Lewers was held up there.

:52:32. > :52:41.Jackson, goes all the way back to Michael Hoare. Dan Fox one Saint on

:52:42. > :52:45.the left -- wants it on the left. Good effort, Middleton might get a

:52:46. > :52:46.chance to swing at this. Canada getting themselves out of trouble

:52:47. > :52:47.temporarily, at least. chance to swing at this. Canada

:52:48. > :52:57.getting themselves out of trouble It is behind, long corner for England.

:52:58. > :52:58.Dixon will take it. Middleton darts inside, pushed

:52:59. > :53:12.behind. Brogdon leaves it for Barry

:53:13. > :53:18.Middleton. He takes it on his own. Still England possession.

:53:19. > :53:30.Brogdon. He keeps the forward momentum going.

:53:31. > :53:44.Middleton asking Jackson to come forward. England switched sides.

:53:45. > :53:47.Fox, high. He is frustrated about that, Dan

:53:48. > :53:51.Fox, because that was a good position to get into. England get

:53:52. > :53:56.stuck on one side under pressure, they move the ball around and find

:53:57. > :53:59.space on the other side. Really manipulating this ball, and this

:54:00. > :54:05.Canadian team really well at the moment.

:54:06. > :54:07.England can build again through Ashley Jackson, the bouncing ball

:54:08. > :54:19.through the centre. Canada with a chance to launch their

:54:20. > :54:20.own attack. Pearson. The helicopter overhead

:54:21. > :54:32.following the time trial. George Pinner lets it go. As George

:54:33. > :54:38.Pinner actually touched the ball yet? I don't think he has.

:54:39. > :54:43.It is a long ball, the chance for England here.

:54:44. > :54:53.Condon's shot, saved. A much brighter start to the second

:54:54. > :55:00.half for England than we saw in the first. Guest weaves his way into

:55:01. > :55:38.England territory. That is when it stops.

:55:39. > :55:49.Good passing, nice and crisp and clean. -- Wharton fires at forward,

:55:50. > :55:59.that was not so crisp and clean. It is up in the centre of the field.

:56:00. > :56:04.David Conlin inside to Catlin. His long ball is too far for Simon

:56:05. > :56:08.Mantell. Lots of rotation is going on and off

:56:09. > :56:13.the pitch at the moment, Canada, particularly, have a high rotation.

:56:14. > :56:25.That is a good tackle. Well played by Scott Tapper, the

:56:26. > :56:31.captain. He has relinquished possession here. This will not

:56:32. > :56:34.matter for England now, they are two goals in front and in an

:56:35. > :56:38.unassailable position as fat as progressing to the semifinals. In

:56:39. > :56:42.the semifinals they will need those passes to count. Yes, they will,

:56:43. > :56:57.they will probably end up playing Australia who have won the other

:56:58. > :57:02.group. Jackson looking for the return ball.

:57:03. > :57:08.Shot on goal but the whistle had gone.

:57:09. > :57:11.Canada are really finding it difficult to keep England at bay at

:57:12. > :57:15.the moment, but they are still hanging on by their fingernails.

:57:16. > :57:20.They are still trying, and the good thing to take out of this is really

:57:21. > :57:22.they are not expecting to win but they have to try and get something

:57:23. > :57:28.out of this. It is great experience for them, they don't get the chance

:57:29. > :57:38.to play at such high-level Games very often. The Commonwealth Games

:57:39. > :57:43.is a good environment for that. Panesar tangling with Harry Martin.

:57:44. > :57:57.Free hit taken again. The Canadians in the England D.

:57:58. > :58:03.Iain Smythe takes the long corner always back. Martin asking for it on

:58:04. > :58:15.the right-hand side for Canada. Only as far as Middleton, who has

:58:16. > :58:21.just watched that drift behind. It was the right ball. Canada left

:58:22. > :58:26.that side free for a runner, but the timing is not quite there for Canada

:58:27. > :58:32.at the moment. They are getting a bit tired, they are having to do a

:58:33. > :58:38.lot of the chasing in this game. Weir loses out to Tupper, but gets

:58:39. > :58:53.possession for England. Weir again, chance to dart inside,

:58:54. > :59:09.nice play, until the pass, which was too short for David Condon.

:59:10. > :59:28.Wright's high well-controlled. -- Tupper's highball.

:59:29. > :59:30.Hildreth takes it for Canada and there is a little

:59:31. > :59:34.Hildreth takes it for bit of niggle in the circle, which is being dealt

:59:35. > :59:40.with by the umpire. Canada, all the way back to the

:59:41. > :59:45.halfway line and behind. Tupper. Roper chasing him all the

:59:46. > :00:25.way. Benjamin Martin for Canada and Harry

:00:26. > :01:07.Martin for England. England 2-0 Canada. One goal in each

:01:08. > :02:20.half. are having a believer but they have

:02:21. > :02:32.intensity. The is are having a believer but they have

:02:33. > :02:39.riding on the game for now. -- a breather. Canada need to take

:02:40. > :02:42.something out of breather. Canada need to take

:02:43. > :03:26.to work to get back into the game to errors. They are getting in the

:03:27. > :03:32.faeces, particularly in midfield. -- faces.

:03:33. > :03:47.faeces, particularly in midfield. -- faces.

:03:48. > :04:13.The England defence has been rock solid. The rain of returns.

:04:14. > :04:25.Everybody rushes for their umbrellas and courts. -- reading courts. And

:04:26. > :04:49.whatever else they can find to keep dry. Keegan Pereira gets a green

:04:50. > :05:05.card for closing down. England have got an extra man for

:05:06. > :05:10.the next couple of minutes. England will be disappointed if they do not

:05:11. > :05:14.get something from this. I've a goal or an opportunity to score

:05:15. > :05:26.get something from this. I've a goal penalty corner. -- either illegal.

:05:27. > :05:33.They do not seem to be as alert as they have been. He is looking very

:05:34. > :05:38.concerned and disappointed with what is coming out of the game and a

:05:39. > :05:42.number of errors that Canada are making. England only have two Mac

:05:43. > :06:13.goals from the 17 opportunities. Canada have yet to do anything.

:06:14. > :06:23.Busy second for Harry Martin. Over the top, penalty corner for England.

:06:24. > :06:27.That last 30 seconds, that was the intensity that England need to play

:06:28. > :06:30.with all of the game. It is the instructions the culture is trying

:06:31. > :06:41.to get to his team. That came off the foot. That is the intensity the

:06:42. > :06:46.court requires his team to play with. England get to school from a

:06:47. > :06:50.penalty corner. They have had a few attempts at various options. Maybe

:06:51. > :07:05.Ashley Jackson will fancy his chances.

:07:06. > :07:16.That was bravely defended and painfully so by Paul Wharton. Still

:07:17. > :07:24.no luck from the penalty corner for England.

:07:25. > :07:45.He took one on the body for his team.

:07:46. > :07:55.He had a bit of a three legged race with one of the Canadians.

:07:56. > :08:09.Penalty corner. That'll do for England. Brilliant individual

:08:10. > :08:14.skills. Nick Catlin was able to get past all the players that were

:08:15. > :08:30.around him. He has worked hard on his kills full -- on his skills. Rpm

:08:31. > :08:35.142 for Nick Catlin today. -- appearance.

:08:36. > :08:49.We have another change of injection duties for England. This time Nick

:08:50. > :08:54.Catlin will inject. It is Jackson who plant sit in the top corner.

:08:55. > :09:05.Beautifully done. England 3-0 Canada. That is the first time that

:09:06. > :09:09.England have managed to get a quick ball out, stopped quickly and

:09:10. > :09:22.Jackson has the time to put the ball in the goalkeeper 's top right-hand

:09:23. > :09:24.corner. Beautiful straight. Ashley Jacksonpos-mac seventh goal of the

:09:25. > :09:47.tournament and his second of the scheme.

:09:48. > :10:09.Just under 16 minutes to play. England will face Australia in the

:10:10. > :10:14.semifinals. It will be tough. Australia have won all of the

:10:15. > :10:23.Commonwealth gold medals in the men's hockey since Malaysia in 1998

:10:24. > :10:27.when it was introduced. Four gold medals for Australia. And they are

:10:28. > :10:41.England's next opponents in the semifinal knockout stages of this

:10:42. > :10:47.Glasgow hockey tournament. The other semifinal likely to see New Zealand

:10:48. > :10:48.taking on either India or save Africa who go into battle later

:10:49. > :11:21.today. -- South Africa. There is Anthony Farley filling

:11:22. > :11:27.instructions down to the pitch. There's not a lot Canada can to --

:11:28. > :12:11.can do, England are just too strong for them all around.

:12:12. > :12:15.Canadian player hitting the ball onto his own foot. The rain has

:12:16. > :12:28.ended and onto his own foot. The rain has

:12:29. > :14:19.Glasgow. -- next level. Harry Martin doing some good work

:14:20. > :14:50.That came off his foot. play that off your backside.

:14:51. > :14:59.Andy yellow card has been shown. A further reduction in numbers for

:15:00. > :15:30.Canada. A five-minute sit down. There is the man who has to sit down

:15:31. > :15:33.for five minutes, Iain Smythe. They are getting tired and England are

:15:34. > :16:01.beginning to dominate them some more.

:16:02. > :16:17.Jackson. England with plenty of options here. Penalty corner. It

:16:18. > :16:21.looked like a penalty corner, the umpire shaped as if to call it then

:16:22. > :16:36.put his hands down. He changed his mind. -- the umpire shook.

:16:37. > :16:44.That was for the yellow card. Iain Smythe barging Harry Martin out of

:16:45. > :16:58.the way. Johnston for Canada, sends it deep

:16:59. > :17:02.into his own half. The Canadian defender, harassed now by Barry

:17:03. > :17:12.Middleton, the England captain. Canada will do well to escape from

:17:13. > :17:18.this, but they have not got very far. Off the foot, Canada ball.

:17:19. > :17:29.England can afford to push up, they have a spare man at the back.

:17:30. > :17:36.Great work from Dixon. He has covered two thirds of the length of

:17:37. > :17:44.the pitch before he just ran out of steam.

:17:45. > :17:53.Good interception from Ashley Jackson. England three, Canada

:17:54. > :17:59.neo-con eight minutes to play. Jackson taking it all the way into

:18:00. > :18:05.Canadian territory. Harry Martin, feeds it back...

:18:06. > :18:10.Canada are there to control. Licking forehead foot on the ball here,

:18:11. > :18:23.outside of the circle now. -- looking for a red foot.

:18:24. > :18:33.Dixon finds Jackson. And Jackson finds his own foot. But

:18:34. > :18:38.England are still battling against this packed defence. Not a lot of

:18:39. > :18:45.space in the back there when it is tight, everyone is back in their own

:18:46. > :18:46.D. It is the skills of Jackson and Barry Middleton that have unlocked

:18:47. > :19:11.it so far. Martin on the right.

:19:12. > :19:23.Highball coming downfield from Michael Hoare.

:19:24. > :19:33.Canada still a man down, Smythe still on the bench in the sin bin,

:19:34. > :19:40.as Curran takes control for Canada on the right-hand side.

:19:41. > :19:41.Jameson spread it around. The Canadian defenders are immediately

:19:42. > :20:12.under pressure. Smythe is by Colin now, his five

:20:13. > :20:18.minutes detention is over. -- is back on now. Backhand shot kicked

:20:19. > :20:24.away. George Pinner taking no chances. He had to kick that, didn't

:20:25. > :20:28.he quit you might he has not touched the ball for such a long time, could

:20:29. > :20:32.have left it, decided to take the ball.

:20:33. > :20:42.Another backhand shot in, high this time. Iain Lewers listed over the

:20:43. > :20:48.top -- lifts it over the top. Gleghorne chasing him all the way

:20:49. > :20:50.upfield. Gleghorne makes this steel, well

:20:51. > :21:06.played, Mark Gleghorne. Martin.

:21:07. > :21:12.Hoare on the right-hand side. Dixon. Lewers. Too strong for Jackson.

:21:13. > :21:21.Frustrating little errors for England. It is breaking up their

:21:22. > :21:25.pattern of play a little bit. They are having a lot of possession

:21:26. > :21:32.and they are still finding it hard to get many returns. They have

:21:33. > :21:39.scored three goals, but they have had a lot of chances.

:21:40. > :21:44.That is good pick-up. Froese for Canada into the D, draws

:21:45. > :21:48.it back, swing and a miss. Penalty corner. Canada have been happy to

:21:49. > :21:52.let that go and score the goal when they get the penalty corner.

:21:53. > :21:58.Less than four minutes of the match to play.

:21:59. > :22:02.Good work by Canada, space in behind and made England pay. Just could not

:22:03. > :22:10.get this tap should there which is what they were looking for, but the

:22:11. > :22:19.penalty corner was awarded, the ball off Dixon's foot there. He could

:22:20. > :22:23.have played advantage there. Yes, Richard Hildreth with the final

:22:24. > :22:31.touch before it hits the back of the net but it won't count.

:22:32. > :22:40.It is Froese. Tupper waiting. It is Tapper!

:22:41. > :22:49.-- Tupper! Well, something for Pinner to do.

:22:50. > :22:52.The danger not entirely averted here for England. There is another one

:22:53. > :22:59.coming for Canada here, second penalty corner. George Pinner gets

:23:00. > :23:04.something else to do now, but not that you will mind. Canada are doing

:23:05. > :23:21.well, good skill on the foot. George Pinner saved the first

:23:22. > :23:32.penalty corner attempt. Canada have another one now.

:23:33. > :23:36.Maybe a change of personnel here for Canada.

:23:37. > :23:42.It is Tupper again and that is an excellent goal. Terrific drag flick

:23:43. > :23:49.from the Canadian captain, Scott Tupper. And with two minutes to go

:23:50. > :23:52.they pulled one back. Pinner thinks that is going to the

:23:53. > :23:57.right where there is no man on the line, just makes a tiny adjustment

:23:58. > :24:10.but Tupper flies that in with real pace. Pinner is not

:24:11. > :24:27.widen the gap again. Into the

:24:28. > :24:40.Canada unable to keep it in. Weir asking for it on

:24:41. > :24:47.Canada unable to keep it in. Weir Catlin, Middleton,

:24:48. > :24:50.Canada unable to keep it in. Weir England will

:24:51. > :24:56.Canada unable to keep it in. Weir they have just lost, the 3-goal

:24:57. > :25:01.advantage, as Weir gets to the edge of the circle and is held up. It is

:25:02. > :25:06.a penalty corner, well played. Well, good reply to that earlier

:25:07. > :25:11.lapse by England. Henry Weir doing some good work, showing his skill at

:25:12. > :25:18.the top of the circle there, again just looking for that foot. Pereira

:25:19. > :25:21.just committing forward with the planted foot, it is a big target.

:25:22. > :25:27.Yes, well played, Henry Weir. planted foot, it is a big target.

:25:28. > :25:36.the foot, and is the penalty corner for England. It will be the last

:25:37. > :25:42.play of the match. Catlin is up. Condon is there, Jackson as well.

:25:43. > :25:42.Michael Hoare, the number 12. You'll recall, England's penalty

:25:43. > :26:03.corner. It is Jackson!

:26:04. > :26:07.Another penalty corner for England. Wharton ran down the line again and

:26:08. > :26:11.got hit again. Every time he has run out to Jackson he has got hit.

:26:12. > :26:14.He is the tallest player on the field.

:26:15. > :26:18.Six foot four. He gets in the face of Jackson, he gets in the face of

:26:19. > :26:23.Jackson, he's is doing a good job but I reckon he is going to be

:26:24. > :26:31.picking up brews after brewers. Iain Lewers to inject for England.

:26:32. > :26:38.Catlin, Roper, Gleghorne and Jackson lined up.

:26:39. > :26:54.-- brews after brews. -- bruise. Ashley Jackson rattled the upright

:26:55. > :27:00.and behind and that concludes the final match with the scoreline in

:27:01. > :27:14.favour of England, they have beaten Canada 3-0.

:27:15. > :27:24.Dominant performance by England, really, but a bit disappointing in

:27:25. > :27:28.many ways. Giving the ball away a bit too much and just chipping that

:27:29. > :27:32.one goal, but the real problem for them was not getting the return they

:27:33. > :27:35.should really get from the opportunities they created. They

:27:36. > :27:39.moved the ball around well, worked well, but Canada fought hard and

:27:40. > :27:45.made it very difficult for England. They defended really well in their

:27:46. > :27:48.own D, digging the ball out many times, but England were too strong

:27:49. > :27:53.for them. Although this was a bit of a dead game, really, not a lot on it

:27:54. > :28:00.from England's point of view, they just had to get a draw or not lose

:28:01. > :28:06.by less than eight, it was a victory that they needed.

:28:07. > :28:13.Two goals for Ashley Jackson, one for Barry Middleton. Canada replied

:28:14. > :28:18.late in the second half with the penalty corner scored by their

:28:19. > :28:24.captain, Scott Tupper. Look at that, 23 shots, only three

:28:25. > :28:28.goals. That is not a great return. England are through to the

:28:29. > :28:30.semifinals. They will then face the mighty Australia. The defending

:28:31. > :28:41.champions. STUDIO: Congratulations to England

:29:38. > :29:41.can to Glasgow with someone else, Katherine Grainger learned to roll

:29:42. > :29:44.here. She went to university year and when she won Olympic gold, the

:29:45. > :30:02.corn on top of the statue was even painted in her honour. Let's look at

:30:03. > :30:11.Glasgow with Catherine. Behind the wise Glasgow 's game. -- behind me

:30:12. > :30:16.is Glasgow Green. It will form part of the marathon route and recycling

:30:17. > :30:21.bodies. The River Clyde runs down the side of Glasgow Green and is

:30:22. > :30:26.home to the rowing club. This is a stretch of water where I first got

:30:27. > :30:39.into a boat. I have not looked back since. Just across the street in the

:30:40. > :30:44.East End of Glasgow is the Barras. In the 1960s, it was a popular

:30:45. > :30:51.ballroom. It was transformed into one of the most popular concert

:30:52. > :31:05.venues in the world. Local acts from Dell Nietzsche, Deacon blue and even

:31:06. > :31:09.Lulu began there -- Del Amitri. It is tradition in Glasgow to put a

:31:10. > :31:17.traffic cone on the head of the Duke of Wellington statue. The cone was

:31:18. > :31:24.painted gold when I won the gold medal. Glasgow University is the

:31:25. > :31:30.fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. It played a

:31:31. > :31:37.crucial role in the 18th century Scottish Enlightenment. It dominates

:31:38. > :31:57.the skyline. Adam Smith, John Lordy Bayard and James Watt all studied

:31:58. > :32:09.there. Two prime ministers. -- John Logie Baird. I am now in the West

:32:10. > :32:14.End. Growing up in Glasgow, no school year was complete without a

:32:15. > :32:20.trip to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Ancient Egypt -- even

:32:21. > :32:31.shipped Egypt, dinosaurs, Medieval Britain, it all began here. This is

:32:32. > :32:36.even a full-size Spitfire. The summer it is the summer it is

:32:37. > :32:37.famous. The Commonwealth Games has came here and it has brought the

:32:38. > :32:52.lawn bowls with it. It certainly is a beautiful city. It

:32:53. > :33:00.is time to see what you have been up to in Glasgow 2014. It is the famous

:33:01. > :33:06.Commonwelfies. This is a picture of her husband who has found Tom Daley.

:33:07. > :33:18.Both look happy. This was at the Badminton last night. This is from a

:33:19. > :33:24.volunteer at the long balls. Well done to the Feste -- 15,000

:33:25. > :33:35.volunteers who are here. And I do not like to miss out. It is me with

:33:36. > :33:38.Viorel Etko. I am delighted to say that the interview with Craig was so

:33:39. > :33:47.good, he has came back for more today. Last night on BBC One, you

:33:48. > :33:52.did some dancing. I always wanted the opportunity to moonwalk on a red

:33:53. > :33:56.carpet. To do it live on television... You have never done it

:33:57. > :34:04.before? Never. I have practised it in my front room. I want thank the

:34:05. > :34:09.BBC. There is plenty of fantastic gymnastics especially over the last

:34:10. > :34:17.24 hours, it has been incredible. Let us take a look at how the

:34:18. > :34:28.here is the men's individual all-around final.

:34:29. > :34:40.Superb. Starting is all-around competition in the way that he

:34:41. > :34:46.wanted. Pommel horse is a great leveller but to him it is just

:34:47. > :34:54.another piece of apparatus. That is world class from Daniel Keatings.

:34:55. > :34:58.Look at his smile. He is looking unaffected by everything that is

:34:59. > :35:06.going on around him. The leaders so far, Max Whitlock. How important is

:35:07. > :35:13.this bolt for Scotland? Daniel Keatings, it is good enough for him.

:35:14. > :35:25.this bolt for Scotland? Daniel Very good. Medal could well be

:35:26. > :35:45.within reach. He really is focused. He is looking so classy. It couldn't

:35:46. > :35:48.have been any better. Yes, he says. He has absolutely nailed all six

:35:49. > :35:56.pieces of apparatus and Max Whitlock has landed on a gold medal.

:35:57. > :36:02.What an incredible day it was. We have got an umbrella.

:36:03. > :36:05.What an incredible day it was. We was indecisive but there was nothing

:36:06. > :36:12.indecisive about Max Whitlock. He was so consistent. He is such a

:36:13. > :36:13.great all-rounder. It is not like he has one piece of apparatus that lets

:36:14. > :36:18.him down. He is amazing has one piece of apparatus that lets

:36:19. > :36:23.them. This is where he started off so well. It was almost faultless

:36:24. > :36:26.across everything. The so well. It was almost faultless

:36:27. > :36:32.strong for him. He then went on to the pommel horse. He led all the way

:36:33. > :36:35.around the competition. That was so impressive. I think he was top

:36:36. > :36:43.scorer on four of the apparatus. impressive. I think he was top

:36:44. > :36:47.crowd were going crazy every time he came out. It did not matter where

:36:48. > :36:48.they came from even though it came out. It did not matter where

:36:49. > :36:54.Scottish crowd, came out. It did not matter where

:36:55. > :36:57.against Daniel Keatings, they were appreciating something special. What

:36:58. > :37:00.is really nice about the Commonwealth Games, I was talking to

:37:01. > :37:07.my coaches with the team in Manchester, it seems so friendly but

:37:08. > :37:14.back in Manchester it was the same. The Home Nations support is

:37:15. > :37:19.fantastic. Was he to points ahead? He could have afforded to false on

:37:20. > :37:22.that piece of apparatus. It can be quite difficult knowing

:37:23. > :37:27.that piece of apparatus. It can be have got that gap. He must have got

:37:28. > :37:31.that gap. He must've in the bag. He did not hang back. It was not a

:37:32. > :37:37.comfortable ride, he still went out there to do everything he wanted do.

:37:38. > :37:47.That is what makes him such a good coach. In the qualification for the

:37:48. > :37:51.pommel horse, he was up against Lewis Smith. Louis Smith did an easy

:37:52. > :37:57.routine to get into the final. Max went for broke and nearly fell off.

:37:58. > :38:04.He is such a fighter. It makes an exciting to watch and why he is so

:38:05. > :38:08.popular with the fans. Great entertainment and great for

:38:09. > :38:12.gymnastics. Great for Scotland getting the silver medal. That is

:38:13. > :38:16.Scotland's first individual all-around medal with Daniel

:38:17. > :38:21.Keatings. He has had a rocky road over the years. He missed out on

:38:22. > :38:25.London 2012. Some people felt that he should've been in the team in

:38:26. > :38:30.London. It was special for him to come back and perform on home soil.

:38:31. > :38:40.What was the reason he was not? It was injury. People felt it was too

:38:41. > :38:45.early the London games. Maybe some Holden just edged him out. What a

:38:46. > :38:50.comeback. He performed fantastically yesterday. I am so proud for him and

:38:51. > :38:55.his coach. They have done such a great job and great for Scottish

:38:56. > :38:59.gymnastics. You would not guess that he was feeling pressure in front of

:39:00. > :39:04.the home crowd. He performed quite shakily on the first day but that is

:39:05. > :39:08.the merits of stepping out. It is expectation. I remember when I came

:39:09. > :39:13.out in Manchester, just a stones throw from where I born, from the

:39:14. > :39:19.nails and adrenaline I could barely feel my legs. I think he performed

:39:20. > :39:26.so much better in the all-around competition. He has to go

:39:27. > :39:34.head-to-head with Macs and Louis Smith in that pommel horse final

:39:35. > :39:39.today. First senior competition, 18 years old. What I like about him is

:39:40. > :39:47.he is a great all-rounder. It is not as much, -- expectation and pressure

:39:48. > :39:51.on him. People were wondering who is Nile Hudson. He is the most

:39:52. > :39:57.successful European junior gymnast that we have ever had. He is the

:39:58. > :40:03.junior European champion in the team and in the individuals, he won three

:40:04. > :40:09.apparatus. He is somebody for the future and in Brazil in 2016, he is

:40:10. > :40:13.going to be on the money. At yesterday, after competition, Max

:40:14. > :40:25.Whitlock was so complimentary about Nigel Hudson. It is nice to get that

:40:26. > :40:29.recognition. I think that is what makes Macs so likeable as a

:40:30. > :40:42.character. He does some amazing stuff but he is modest. What do you

:40:43. > :40:46.think about that, absolutely amazing. He felt it would not be

:40:47. > :40:55.long before the other guys are doing the troubled West. That is why he is

:40:56. > :41:00.such a favourite. He is very humble. What does that mean for the depth of

:41:01. > :41:06.men's gymnastics in the UK? It just goes to prove that what happened in

:41:07. > :41:12.London was not a fluke. We seem to be building on result after result,

:41:13. > :41:16.after result. It is taking a while to come. A sport like gymnastics is

:41:17. > :41:20.not something you can practice in the back garden. We have had lottery

:41:21. > :41:26.funding for about ten years and it is starting to pay off. What I hope

:41:27. > :41:33.is that the lottery funding goes to all sports. Gymnastics has proven

:41:34. > :41:37.what you can do with that support. Gymnastics has probably been the

:41:38. > :41:41.best -- more successful sport in Great Britain over the past few

:41:42. > :41:42.years. It was not just the men that were going for gold yesterday, the

:41:43. > :42:06.women were at it too. Going for the big double twist. Not

:42:07. > :42:18.a problem. Real mature performance. Cracking the team from her. Very

:42:19. > :42:25.nice work. The crowd here are lovingly performance. Absolutely

:42:26. > :42:39.first class. The women's competition was really

:42:40. > :42:44.interesting because while we were saying that the men were almost

:42:45. > :42:47.faultless, the women were not. It created some interesting

:42:48. > :42:51.mathematics. Once that was out the way, it was just fascinating and

:42:52. > :42:56.almost never lacking to be sitting at home watching it. You should try

:42:57. > :43:02.being in the hydro trying to commentate on it. It was

:43:03. > :43:07.nail-biting. We had enquiries from the English coach, the Canadian

:43:08. > :43:12.coach, the enquiries were rejected. The leaderboard swapped a couple of

:43:13. > :43:19.times. It was so impressive. I said at the start that we could have the

:43:20. > :43:26.first ever England one, two, three. It did shift but it ended up that

:43:27. > :43:35.way. We can to -- take a look at the bronze medal winner. When they were

:43:36. > :43:40.good, they were very good. The beam is always the tricky apparatus.

:43:41. > :43:56.Hannah is very good on the bars. It is one of our strongest PCs. The

:43:57. > :44:05.others are coming in. -- nerves. Knowing that you are in first place

:44:06. > :44:11.has an effect on your performance. That meant that it was Ruby Harrold

:44:12. > :44:19.that took silver. It was tight. Points were changing all the time.

:44:20. > :44:34.She had a very powerful portal stop double twist. Very difficult. --

:44:35. > :44:39.powerful vault. She had the front somersault on the beam. Very

:44:40. > :44:43.difficult. It is really difficult to compose yourself at that moment in

:44:44. > :44:47.time. Going through her mind would be that the medal had gone out of

:44:48. > :44:51.the window. That is the first thing that hits you. You have to get back

:44:52. > :44:58.up there and perform a floor routine. The floor routine is all

:44:59. > :45:03.about smiling and having a happy face but the Dome, I do not feel

:45:04. > :45:07.happy right now. To go out and deliver is a credit, not only to

:45:08. > :45:17.her, but at the coaches who have supported her. That left the baby of

:45:18. > :45:22.the team, Claudia. She is an incredible story anyway. Afterwards,

:45:23. > :45:26.when she had done the routines, she had a bit of a fall, as well, but

:45:27. > :45:31.the emotion came out of all three girls, didn't it? Yes, that is the

:45:32. > :45:35.first time I have seen the other gymnasts in competition jumping up

:45:36. > :45:43.and down in support. I don't know whether I have nicked

:45:44. > :45:45.named her, but she is definitely the pocket rocket. -- nicknamed. She is

:45:46. > :45:53.so suited to the pocket rocket. -- nicknamed. She is

:45:54. > :45:58.is so compact and powerful. You could see on the beam, she wanted to

:45:59. > :46:02.stay on. They fight like mad, obviously hit the floor and back

:46:03. > :46:06.on. She was holding her side and I was praying

:46:07. > :46:08.on. She was holding her side and I That was the difference between her

:46:09. > :46:11.and Ruby, because Ruby came off clean and she looked like she caught

:46:12. > :46:15.herself. To go on and do this, if you are

:46:16. > :46:19.carrying even a slight bruise, you are going to feel it.

:46:20. > :46:23.And let's not underestimate how difficult her floor routine is. It

:46:24. > :46:26.is a routine that could match the tunnelling of the guys. Full

:46:27. > :46:30.twisting double back straight, they are the things I was training but

:46:31. > :46:35.never good enough to go into a routine. She is so busy. You can see

:46:36. > :46:38.it at the end, the emotion of that routine. She is so busy. You can see

:46:39. > :46:41.it at the end, I think that is what is so great about sport, not just in

:46:42. > :46:46.our sticks. We have seen that emotion throughout the Games. These

:46:47. > :46:50.athletes train for years and years to get to that moment and it all

:46:51. > :46:57.comes out. We saw Lewis am -- Louis Smith crying in the Olympics in the

:46:58. > :47:01.qualification and I don't think people realise what was into that

:47:02. > :47:05.performance. It would be really nice to see them there on the screen,

:47:06. > :47:09.being on the rostrum with their team-mates and going, yes, we have

:47:10. > :47:12.being on the rostrum with their done it, and making history.

:47:13. > :47:16.Young stars gaming experience as everyday goes past. You should be in

:47:17. > :47:18.great form when it comes to real. We will be. I think Claudia Bell

:47:19. > :47:23.will rock the world. She has We will be. I think Claudia Bell

:47:24. > :47:26.will rock the world. She done at the European Championships, she amazed

:47:27. > :47:30.everyone. When we go to the world stage now, people are going,

:47:31. > :47:33.everyone. When we go to the world Britain getting these gymnasts from?

:47:34. > :47:37.everyone. When we go to the world We used to pray for a final, now we

:47:38. > :47:42.are winning medals. It is amazing to be on the other side, to see this

:47:43. > :47:46.transformation and Rio is going to be really exciting.

:47:47. > :47:49.It certainly is. Thank you for joining us, we do not have a live

:47:50. > :47:52.band or the red carpet but you have taken the time to talk to us again,

:47:53. > :47:54.we appreciate it. We have some table taken the time to talk to us again,

:47:55. > :47:57.tennis coming up for you, and if taken the time to talk to us again,

:47:58. > :48:04.don't know there is to know about the sport, take a a

:48:05. > :49:08.men and women. We are all a

:49:09. > :49:15.at the moment and England's Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho, the

:49:16. > :49:21.15-year-old, are taking on New Zealand's pairing of Ten-Ten Liu and

:49:22. > :49:28.Karen Li. Here is how it went, commentary from Trevor Harris.

:49:29. > :49:35.COMMENTATOR: Good start from the English pair.

:49:36. > :49:45.Well, that is why he is so highly ranked in the world.

:49:46. > :49:52.An absolute peach of the backhand from the English number one.

:49:53. > :49:52.Someone has a flashlight in the crowd.

:49:53. > :50:29.A brief respite. They have to serve to the opposite

:50:30. > :50:38.quarter, of course, in doubles. Players must hit alternately.

:50:39. > :50:52.Another of those backhands perfect from Pitchford.

:50:53. > :50:57.Born in Chesterfield, Liam Pitchford. He plays now

:50:58. > :51:18.professionally in Germany. Great play from Karen Li. He spotted

:51:19. > :52:01.it, Pitchford going one way and the ball the other.

:52:02. > :52:06.Pitchford! It is only 9:35am local time but that was the Kiwi 's'

:52:07. > :52:09.wake-up call. They have had a few of them so far. -- the Kiwis' wake-up

:52:10. > :52:35.call. He goes long and the English pair in

:52:36. > :52:37.control here. There is Alan Cooke, the English coach in charge of this

:52:38. > :52:57.team. Just makes that I can flick look so

:52:58. > :53:04.effortless. It is causing the Kiwis no end of trouble. Two points away

:53:05. > :53:10.from securing a one-game lead. Tin-Tin Ho serving.

:53:11. > :53:16.They do not have too much experience as a pairing, Pitchford and Ho. This

:53:17. > :53:27.is invaluable experience for both. So, five-game points. Karen Li to

:53:28. > :53:42.serve. Well, you do not have to hit it hard

:53:43. > :54:12.when you can place it as well as that.

:54:13. > :54:24.Yes! It was not the worst return in the world from Ten-Ten Liu, but this

:54:25. > :54:32.was a bullet. In fact, he has been firing rubber bullets all morning.

:54:33. > :54:55.That is a good riposte from Ten-Ten Liu.

:54:56. > :54:56.Serving to no man's land. Put away with that backhand flick

:54:57. > :55:09.again by Pitchford, so dangerous. Just caught the top of the net. The

:55:10. > :55:49.players are entitled to towel down every six points.

:55:50. > :55:59.Justice Leitch -- just the slight edge here for Pitchford and Ho.

:56:00. > :56:29.Both of the New Zealanders are very highly ranked. Liu Ten-Ten 245,

:56:30. > :56:32.Karen Li 283 in the world. This was their going to be a cakewalk. --

:56:33. > :56:37.this was never going to be. She has got in with that serve a

:56:38. > :56:55.couple of times, Tin-Tin Ho. She has a brother called Ping.

:56:56. > :57:12.is called Tin-Tin because of table tennis, her dad is table tennis mad.

:57:13. > :57:19.Well, really good teamwork that from the English pair. A critical

:57:20. > :57:23.in this game. They certainly have the New Zealanders moving around.

:57:24. > :57:27.The footwork is the New Zealanders moving around.

:57:28. > :57:29.doubles, get out the way of your partner.

:57:30. > :57:56.There is another point for Pitchford and Ho.

:57:57. > :58:05.I hint of recovery here from the Kiwis. Back on level terms at it-8.

:58:06. > :58:28.-- 8-8. That was a shot. There was a space

:58:29. > :58:31.to play it, she picked it wide. The recovery shows every sign of growing

:58:32. > :58:37.your for New Zealand. Just edging in front in this second game.

:58:38. > :58:45.You can see it was a big gap to land that backhand. 9-8.

:58:46. > :59:21.Massive points at 9-9 in this second game.

:59:22. > :59:22.Tyrone even give himself a chance of returning it.

:59:23. > :59:41.Game .4 for a 2-0 lead. -- game returning it.

:59:42. > :00:18.lead before Tin-Tin Ho and Liam Pitchford.

:00:19. > :00:30.range. Need to stay in the game, otherwise it will be curtains. She

:00:31. > :00:38.is into the third round of the women's singles, she beat the

:00:39. > :00:43.Malaysian yesterday. What a great start to this third game for the

:00:44. > :00:49.English pair. New Zealand have taken a time out. It is not surprising.

:00:50. > :01:40.There is no real understanding between the two New Zealanders, is

:01:41. > :01:46.there? One of the rules is that the ball comes back from where it games

:01:47. > :02:05.to allow the players to get across. He hasn't missed too many so far

:02:06. > :02:11.this morning. We mentioned his backhand but his forehand is pretty

:02:12. > :02:17.useful as well. Look at this. There is no chance for Liu Tengteng to get

:02:18. > :02:24.across. That was well gambled. He saw the dummy that Liam Pitchford

:02:25. > :02:25.was going to sell him. He gambled and made it. They have to gamble

:02:26. > :03:19.now. Some distance between them again.

:03:20. > :03:25.7-4. I think some observers expected New Zealand to give the English pair

:03:26. > :03:30.a real work out today. Possibly even beat them. It has not turned out

:03:31. > :03:40.that way so far. They are just a few points away from the match here. You

:03:41. > :04:03.cannot play it short to the backhand of Pitchford and expect to get away

:04:04. > :04:14.with it. Karen Li, you feel, as to hold both of these Serbs. So, five

:04:15. > :04:35.match points for Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho. -- both of these

:04:36. > :04:52.services. Four match points left. The next two are on the Pitchford

:04:53. > :05:01.server. Sometimes getting over the line is the hardest part. Three

:05:02. > :05:08.saved by the Kiwis. I think Alan Cooke may well take a time out here.

:05:09. > :05:15.Didn't like that run of three successive points by New Zealand.

:05:16. > :05:36.Decides to have a chat with Liam and Tin-Tin Ho. It is a good return from

:05:37. > :05:47.Liu Tengteng. Straight away, the time-out signalled by the English

:05:48. > :05:53.coach. That was interesting. Don't expect them to give you the point,

:05:54. > :06:07.he said. I could hear him quite quickly. Service Pack with New

:06:08. > :06:13.Zealand. Liu Tengteng to Tin-Tin Ho. That is a great performance! In

:06:14. > :06:17.straight games Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho are through to the

:06:18. > :06:23.quarterfinals of the Mixed Doubles. They have beaten Liu Tengteng and

:06:24. > :06:29.Karen Li quite comprehensively. Just a bit of a stumble in the last game.

:06:30. > :06:42.The smile from the 15-year-old tells you the story.

:06:43. > :06:50.Great scenes at the table tennis. We have braved the outdoor weather but

:06:51. > :06:57.it is not being so kind to us. Let's hand you over to the news.

:06:58. > :07:09.And it's about time that I did something about that.

:07:10. > :07:30.Back to Glasgow after a quick update on Three.

:07:31. > :07:33.A new way to deal with people convicted of drink-related crimes.

:07:34. > :07:35.Offenders will wear compulsory ankle tags to measure

:07:36. > :07:41.Premier League footballer Ravel Morrison has been charged

:07:42. > :07:46.It's alleged they happened in the early hours of Sunday.

:07:47. > :07:48.The West Ham star's due in court today.

:07:49. > :07:51.Israel is continuing to bombard Gaza.

:07:52. > :07:54.It's called up 16,000 more reserve troops to join the offensive.

:07:55. > :07:56.That's despite condemnation after a UN school was hit yesterday.

:07:57. > :07:59.Scientists are calling it remarkable.

:08:00. > :08:00.A deep-sea octopus has smashed the record

:08:01. > :08:07.The devoted mum watched over them for almost four and half years.

:08:08. > :08:09.Do you fancy owning a giant teacake from the Commonwealth

:08:10. > :08:12.The props, costumes and souvenirs from Glasgow

:08:13. > :08:19.I think Lee would look great in a teacake!

:08:20. > :08:28.Back to her now for more live action.

:08:29. > :08:30.Yeah, I am looking for a Prince Charming.

:08:31. > :08:34.I don't think I'm ugly, but I don't think I'm, like, really pretty.

:08:35. > :08:39.I say, "You've got something on your bum." "Really?" And I say,

:08:40. > :09:18.result for Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho. Tin-Tin Ho was named by

:09:19. > :09:24.her father because he was keen to get the initials of table tennis

:09:25. > :09:29.into her name. In the women's doubles, the Northern Ireland parent

:09:30. > :09:45.of Hannah Lynch Dawson and Emma Ludlow have been taking on Pakistan.

:09:46. > :09:57.Let's take a look. The Pakistan pairing serving first. It is

:09:58. > :10:33.normally one of Emma Ludlow's favourite shorts. This is the second

:10:34. > :10:37.normally one of Emma Ludlow's different competitions. Ah, yes.

:10:38. > :10:39.normally one of Emma Ludlow's Very straightforward. It was a good

:10:40. > :11:11.served by Lynch-Dawson. The three points that the Pakistan

:11:12. > :11:25.pairing have one so far have all been errors from the Northern Irish

:11:26. > :11:45.duo. They will take them. This time it was Lynch-Dawson landing a

:11:46. > :12:24.forehand killer blow. A shake of the head from the 16-year-old. She

:12:25. > :12:29.hasn't quite settled yet. Emma Ludlow did very well to react to the

:12:30. > :12:41.net cord. Enough time to rock back and make the forehand a winning one.

:12:42. > :13:11.Tighter than many expected. 6-6. Sheikh Abeera to serve.

:13:12. > :13:36.So the Pakistan pair have sneaked in front here. The applause coming from

:13:37. > :13:49.the other table. Best rally of the match. Sheikh Abeera just missed.

:13:50. > :14:05.You can see the frustration. Twirling her but in the air. Now,

:14:06. > :14:11.Lynch-Dawson makes the error. That was an open invitation that was

:14:12. > :14:19.never going to be refused. The smash from Emma Ludlow gives the Northern

:14:20. > :14:26.Irish pair game point. A slightly fortunate way to win it but they do

:14:27. > :14:32.by 11-9. They had a few scares along the way. Plenty of errors from both

:14:33. > :15:18.teams. In the end, Lynch-Dawson and Ludlow are one game to the good. A

:15:19. > :15:19.good start for the Pakistan pair. In the second game, three points to the

:15:20. > :15:35.good. That was a giveaway off the serve.

:15:36. > :15:38.Will that give the Irish girls lift? Point goes to Pakistan because the

:15:39. > :15:46.serve was not in the opposite quarter. Well, that will make

:15:47. > :15:51.Lynch-Dawson feel a lot better. The first really positive blow that she

:15:52. > :15:59.has landed. Just to remind you, you have to serve to the opposite

:16:00. > :16:02.quarter. Otherwise your opponent will get a point. You also have to

:16:03. > :16:05.hit the ball alternately. Just did not quite get that topspin forehand

:16:06. > :16:53.right. Oh, they have done really well

:16:54. > :17:26.there, the Pakistan pair. The comeback could be on here.

:17:27. > :18:00.Ludlow serving. Much better forehand from Lynch-Dawson.

:18:01. > :18:08.Well, that was almost too easy, wasn't it?! Rossi hitting the

:18:09. > :18:25.forehand. Well, it is close again now. Ludlow

:18:26. > :18:37.forcing the error. And they are on terms, fixed to another beauty from

:18:38. > :20:48.Ludlow. And from a mile behind, they You

:20:49. > :21:23.would get four runs for that in cricket usually. It is tight again

:21:24. > :21:34.in Game three. Just occasionally she has shown a glimpse of great

:21:35. > :21:40.technique. A very nervy start. A whipped forehand straight back from

:21:41. > :22:09.where it came. That was pretty useful from Ludlow as well.

:22:10. > :22:24.where it came. That was pretty meant that. Absolutely drilled it.

:22:25. > :22:28.Write down the middle. Very hard. That is a total giveaway. They just

:22:29. > :23:00.seem to be losing a little bit of heart here. That was a much better

:23:01. > :23:07.return. Too many errors from Babar Farwa and Sheikh Abeera. Those for

:23:08. > :23:19.the glory shot and cannot land it. Still a bit of work to do. Babar

:23:20. > :23:31.Farwa serving to Lynch-Dawson. Knocked off her feet, Babar Farwa.

:23:32. > :23:40.Three match points before the pair from Northern Ireland. Did really

:23:41. > :23:57.well to stay in that. Keeping their hopes alive of what would be a

:23:58. > :24:07.dramatic comeback. Still two match points. And that is indeed the end

:24:08. > :24:19.of it. 11-8 in the third game. In less than 20 minutes, Hammer Lynch

:24:20. > :24:24.Dawson and Emma Ludlow have defeated Babar Farwa and Sheikh Abeera in

:24:25. > :24:35.straight games. -- Hannah Lynch Dawson. A good win for the

:24:36. > :24:39.16-year-old and the 18-year-old. Valuable experience and they will

:24:40. > :24:44.get at least one more round. They are through.

:24:45. > :24:55.Well done to the girls from Northern Ireland. Earlier on, there was a big

:24:56. > :25:04.bronze medal match in the balls. We can see Kelvingrove there through a

:25:05. > :25:10.haze of rain. We join it in the final end with the score 12-12. He

:25:11. > :25:33.has tried to reach up through the middle for the Jack. And he has done

:25:34. > :25:37.it! He got to edges, to be fair. Without the edge, he had the jack

:25:38. > :25:51.and that would have been a whole lot different. Really good sportsmanship

:25:52. > :25:57.out there. But to be fair, missing that bowl, the jack was in the

:25:58. > :26:11.ditch. At least the game is still alive for England. Another one up

:26:12. > :26:37.there in behind would be a very good position. Very handy indeed. That is

:26:38. > :26:50.a good effort. Anything back there is useful. We all know that Paul is

:26:51. > :26:58.a very good player. Kevin Wallace might think it is time to protect

:26:59. > :27:22.this. Anything up to the jack or just short of it would be good.

:27:23. > :27:36.It will be a little short. Really not in the line. It won't affect the

:27:37. > :27:44.next short. Weight would have been the issue for him. He really wanted

:27:45. > :28:00.to leave it in line. It is very much an open jack for Paul Brown. Looking

:28:01. > :28:13.for the jack in the ditch. More than competent at this shot. We have seen

:28:14. > :28:27.it before. So, they are looking at it. He is close. Has he got the

:28:28. > :28:37.jack? He has. There is another bowl lurking around. We will have to find

:28:38. > :28:44.out. Played perfectly. Getting that jack back into the ditch. More

:28:45. > :28:47.importantly, he pushed the red fish through. Without pushing that

:28:48. > :29:12.through, it could have been against him. So, one bowl to save the match.

:29:13. > :29:26.Just dropped in. Scotland just fail with their last delivery. What a

:29:27. > :29:33.fantastic game. Time for some more live sport. We are going to head to

:29:34. > :29:40.Scotstoun for some squash. The men's doubles, Scotland taking on India.

:29:41. > :30:01.Your commentary comes from Sue Rose and Martin Heath. COMMENTATOR:

:30:02. > :30:06.Crawford and Lobban won all their heats through to this round. It was

:30:07. > :30:46.the attacking player of Lobban who got them through. Harinder Pal

:30:47. > :30:52.Sandhu from Chandigarh in India. It is doubles, there are differences.

:30:53. > :30:57.We see Saurav Ghosal on the right-hand side of your screen. He

:30:58. > :31:08.had an incredibly good singles event reaching the semifinals. Just

:31:09. > :31:15.missing out losing to Peter Barber in the bronze medal match. There we

:31:16. > :31:25.can see their route through to this stage. They finished second in their

:31:26. > :31:31.group. That is the way that the pool matches are decided. First in one of

:31:32. > :31:49.the pools plays the second in their neighbouring pool. This is one of

:31:50. > :31:53.the toughest matches. The Indian team are seeded seven, the Indian

:31:54. > :31:56.team seeded eighth. The Scottish team certainly had an easier route

:31:57. > :32:53.through. Really nothing to choose team certainly had an easier route

:32:54. > :33:00.between these two teams. We team certainly had an easier route

:33:01. > :33:04.different game from singles which is much more measured,

:33:05. > :33:07.different game from singles which is your length at the back of the

:33:08. > :33:13.court. In doubles, the players push forward trying to attack the ball as

:33:14. > :33:19.much as possible. Most of the players like to use pace, a lot of

:33:20. > :33:27.cross courts. Not much straight up and down the wall. Lots of fun to

:33:28. > :33:50.watch and play. Reactions quashed. -- reaction squash. A nice crowd for

:33:51. > :34:13.the knockout stages today. 16 in the men's event. Also 16 left in the

:34:14. > :34:28.mixed doubles event. The Indians coming in. Glasgow Commonwealth

:34:29. > :34:32.Games 2014. Men's doubles. India to serve. Stuart Crawford to receive.

:34:33. > :35:22.The best of three games. You do not have to stay on your own

:35:23. > :35:26.site, you will see a lot of crossing over. We saw a lot of that in the

:35:27. > :36:28.mixed doubles, and I am sure you will see it in this match as well.

:36:29. > :36:37.Nice crosscourt from Greg Lobban. And there we see the communication,

:36:38. > :36:39.which is incredibly important. You cannot rely on your opponent, you

:36:40. > :37:11.have to communicate. Sandhu just calling his ball down.

:37:12. > :38:02.Scotland are off to a flyer. A fairly conventional play to start

:38:03. > :38:06.off with, playing it a little bit like a large game of singles, trying

:38:07. > :38:09.to find out line and length at the back of the court, not giving your

:38:10. > :38:28.opponent is any opportunities at the front. I am sure that will not

:38:29. > :38:36.continue for too long. That is nice play from Ghosal. The drop shot,

:38:37. > :38:48.followed by the volley drop. First point on the board for them.

:38:49. > :38:55.That is a key shot in doubles, just finding that space, especially if

:38:56. > :39:00.your partner can block out your opponent on the other side, and you

:39:01. > :39:03.can play that short angled just and again, the obstruction.

:39:04. > :39:10.UMPIRE: No let. UMPIRE: No let. Sandhu, managing to

:39:11. > :39:51.find his spaces and then execute. And we have seen this quite a lot in

:39:52. > :39:56.the doubles. Maybe ordinarily in singles, that would be a let, but

:39:57. > :39:57.there is a great emphasis for the retrieving player to go and get the

:39:58. > :40:20.ball in doubles. As I was saying, around the middle,

:40:21. > :40:26.if there are refereeing decisions, ordinarily, if you hit the ball back

:40:27. > :40:31.to yourself, it would be a stroke in singles, but in doubles, they tend

:40:32. > :40:34.to want to try to keep the ball going, on the understanding that

:40:35. > :40:39.there are going to be a lot of traffic Robbins, and they want to

:40:40. > :40:53.give the players every opportunity to be creative, to play down the

:40:54. > :41:41.middle. REFEREE: Yes, let.

:41:42. > :41:52.A nice reaction folly from Lobban. A very dangerous player when he gets

:41:53. > :42:03.an open ball like that on the crosscourt. Saurav was trying to

:42:04. > :42:09.keep it tight to the wall. He has been an incredibly dangerous player

:42:10. > :42:17.in the last couple of days. We have seen him playing in the doubles. And

:42:18. > :42:55.if the ball is tight like that, there is not a lot Lobban can do.

:42:56. > :43:02.Again, the Indian team calling their ball down. Very honest. That was a

:43:03. > :43:05.Again, the Indian team calling their nice rally. That was a little

:43:06. > :43:06.Again, the Indian team calling their more like the normal doubles rallies

:43:07. > :43:11.we have seen, a lot of play around the front court, picking on one

:43:12. > :43:15.corner sometimes, picking on one player. And it is the Scots who come

:43:16. > :44:11.through. middle. Creating some confusion.

:44:12. > :44:15.That is definitely part of this game. We saw both Scots boys running

:44:16. > :44:22.into the middle at the front, at the start of that rally.

:44:23. > :45:24.REFEREE: Yes, let. There again, we see Ghosal trying to

:45:25. > :45:27.keep Lobban nice and tight to the wall, really limiting his

:45:28. > :45:49.opportunities. More like singles play.

:45:50. > :46:00.Oh, a nice angle from Sandhu. He realised both Scottish players were

:46:01. > :46:06.covering the back corner. He saw the space and hit into it. Great vision

:46:07. > :46:34.for the game. Beautiful shot. But still three points in arrears.

:46:35. > :46:46.REFEREE: Yes, let. You do see this in doubles play. It is not so much

:46:47. > :46:51.about playing the court, playing the dimensions, it is more about playing

:46:52. > :46:56.your opponents, hitting into the space, trying to confuse them,

:46:57. > :46:57.hitting into their feet if possible. It is really quite a different skill

:46:58. > :47:35.set. Interesting play. Lobban did a 360!

:47:36. > :47:43.Is that not dangerous play? Mr Lobban, please be careful. No, the

:47:44. > :47:50.next time I will just hit him. COMMENTATOR: Well, Ghosal appealing

:47:51. > :47:54.to the referee, saying, hang on, that was dangerous, you are meant to

:47:55. > :48:05.stop and play the let in that situation. These guys are wearing

:48:06. > :48:13.those guards. On their eyes. Lobban finds a spot, and the ball dies.

:48:14. > :48:19.Again, if you can create some confusion, you can quite often run

:48:20. > :48:23.away with the points. So, Lobban would argue that that was not

:48:24. > :48:27.dangerous play, he knew exactly where everyone was.

:48:28. > :48:45.REFEREE: Yes, let. Maybe a product the previous rally,

:48:46. > :48:59.but the Scottish boys move to game ball.

:49:00. > :49:04.And there we see an ace. And the Scottish team take the first game.

:49:05. > :49:09.It seemed a bit closer than the scoreline suggests. The Scottish

:49:10. > :49:14.team were not favourites to go through here, seeded eighth, whereas

:49:15. > :49:33.the Indian team are seeded seventh. So they certainly cannot relax.

:49:34. > :49:42.You have just got to be careful, when he is edging across, you have

:49:43. > :49:51.got to make sure Harinder Pal Sandhu has not got the angle.

:49:52. > :49:54.Well, it is difficult to hear everything that the Scottish

:49:55. > :50:01.national coach was saying. But one thing I did pick up was, do not give

:50:02. > :50:04.Harinder Pal Sandhu the angle, on the forehand side, to hit that kind

:50:05. > :50:13.of shot across the court, dying into the side wall.

:50:14. > :50:21.Nice play from the Scottish team. As we can see, Crawford tends to be the

:50:22. > :50:27.steady player. He can hit winners, obviously, Greg Lobban, in gradually

:50:28. > :50:32.dangerous, can hit winners from anywhere. And there we see the

:50:33. > :50:36.confusion, Sandhu again finding that spot. The Scottish team have to

:50:37. > :51:06.watch out not to give Sandhu any shots in that area.

:51:07. > :51:12.So, the Scottish team, gearing up, with their rackets and there goes

:51:13. > :51:56.guards. again, and it is the Scottish team

:51:57. > :52:34.serving. Again, we

:52:35. > :53:10.playing the court, but playing the space.

:53:11. > :53:18.Nice rally for the Indians, really standing very far up the court,

:53:19. > :53:43.especially Sandhu, that is obviously his role, to cover the front court.

:53:44. > :54:05.REFEREE: Yes, let. There was enough interference there, he was going to

:54:06. > :54:10.get that ball. Who? Sandhu. Greg Lobban just querying that one. Well,

:54:11. > :54:13.it was a nice shot, but Sandhu was blocked by Crawford, certainly could

:54:14. > :55:25.not play that shot. Have to play a let, play it again.

:55:26. > :55:34.Not much to choose between these two teams. But it is the Indians that

:55:35. > :55:55.have got a 5-1 lead in this second game.

:55:56. > :56:03.Well, interesting decision from the Scottish team to change roles. Greg

:56:04. > :56:10.Lobban on that last rally was on the forehand side, Crawford on the

:56:11. > :56:14.left-hand side. This was not just a recovery position, they obviously

:56:15. > :56:25.just decided to change it up. Just to keep their opponents guessing.

:56:26. > :56:29.And you can see that they are keeping that formation for now. It

:56:30. > :56:33.seems as though Ghosal on the left side was doing a great job of

:56:34. > :56:38.keeping it nice and tight to the wall, with Lobban, who has been an

:56:39. > :56:48.amazing attacking player over the last couple of days, punishing any

:56:49. > :57:34.loose shot. He has been getting a lot of points on the board.

:57:35. > :57:40.Nice recovery! A little bit lucky from Sandhu, but what a great

:57:41. > :57:47.recovery from between his legs! Very important to have fast hands,

:57:48. > :58:53.the reactions. Both Scottish players standing right

:58:54. > :59:48.up in the court. The Indian team did very well to retrieve.

:59:49. > :59:57.Sandhu. Beautiful punched length from Sandhu. It was an important

:59:58. > :00:03.shot from the Indian team to stop the Scots from getting a run of

:00:04. > :00:07.points, gathering momentum. Because the rallies are relatively quicker

:00:08. > :00:25.than singles, momentum does play a part in doubles.

:00:26. > :00:34.Well, we saw that from Stuart Crawford yesterday. He is very

:00:35. > :00:40.consistent in hitting the spot right into his opponent's feet. He got the

:00:41. > :00:45.winner that time. If he doesn't, Sandhu is popping it back and

:00:46. > :00:47.providing an opportunity for his party. The Scottish team go back to

:00:48. > :01:34.5-8. Well, again it is Crawford finding

:01:35. > :01:38.the space. Great hands from Sandhu. Not sure how to describe that shot.

:01:39. > :02:02.Through those legs and then a backwards flip. Nice defence.

:02:03. > :02:10.Again, we see this change in momentum. The Scottish boys, if they

:02:11. > :03:08.can get away with a 2-0 victory, they would be very happy. Anything

:03:09. > :03:14.can happen in the third. Nice rally. Greg Lobban was active there. But it

:03:15. > :03:23.was Harinder Pal Sandhu who found his spot on that drop shot. He takes

:03:24. > :03:27.the position and then hits that before it hits the side wall. The

:03:28. > :03:32.ball shooting through to the back of the point. It takes the Indians

:03:33. > :04:07.to-7. Unfortunate from Crawford. He is so

:04:08. > :04:13.good at finding his space. Just lunged forward looking for the

:04:14. > :04:36.middle spot. Just back into himself. And it is a game ball to the

:04:37. > :04:42.Indians. Lobban may be a little bit frustrated, deciding to take, shot.

:04:43. > :05:31.Still two game balls to the Indian team. Well, it looked good

:05:32. > :05:37.Still two game balls to the Indian Lobban. The Indian team level of the

:05:38. > :05:39.scores. 1-1. Takes it into a deciding game. Doubles are just the

:05:40. > :05:46.best of three. Let's hear what deciding game. Doubles are just the

:05:47. > :05:57.major is going to say to his Indian deciding game. Doubles are just the

:05:58. > :06:18.players. You have to anticipate the middle shot. You must anticipate.

:06:19. > :06:41.COMMENTATOR: A little bit I could pick up was use the middle shot, it

:06:42. > :06:45.is very effective but don't forget about your movement. Whether singles

:06:46. > :06:50.or doubles, very important in squash. When you hit it down the

:06:51. > :07:12.middle, move up and cover the front corners. Especially Greg Lobban is

:07:13. > :07:16.very dangerous in those corners. Just as we expected between the

:07:17. > :07:29.seventh and the eighth seeds. An incredible battle. We need to leave

:07:30. > :07:36.the squash now but if you would like to continue to watch. It is very

:07:37. > :07:44.simple, just press your red button. On BBC Three, it is time for diving.

:07:45. > :07:54.We will be heading over for coverage of the preliminary round of the

:07:55. > :08:01.women's ten metre dive. We are going to show some of the men's. The man

:08:02. > :08:12.to watch out for is Jack Laugher. He is currently through two parts of a

:08:13. > :08:23.Commonwealth Games hat-trick. I wonder what kind of night he had. He

:08:24. > :08:36.probably got a fairly late night with interviews. He doesn't look

:08:37. > :08:40.that tired, even if he is. A consummate professional. Only 19

:08:41. > :08:45.years of age but he has been around. He has major championships

:08:46. > :08:51.under his belt. He is now Commonwealth champion on the one

:08:52. > :08:56.metre. He will smash it today, and stand on the podium later. That is

:08:57. > :09:04.the last time I am going to say that until he does. But he is our man.

:09:05. > :09:10.That is the best that anyone has been by ten points. But it was a

:09:11. > :09:31.high tariff dive. We are going to go to Oliver Denly. -- Dingley. Forward

:09:32. > :09:37.to another half. That is going to get to 7.5. Because of the degree of

:09:38. > :09:42.difficulty he is going to be close to the top of the leaderboard. Not

:09:43. > :09:51.many of the divers are using a very high degree of difficulty to open

:09:52. > :09:59.with. So they will be the top three. Not quite the eights he was hoping

:10:00. > :10:10.for but not too far shy. First-round done. Who is not going to be coming

:10:11. > :10:22.back? James Denny on the front page as well. Those people are well

:10:23. > :10:28.clear. These are those ones who will make it through, as it stands. A

:10:29. > :10:35.long way to go. Jack Laugher is the leader after round one after a huge

:10:36. > :10:43.tariff dive. As this one is, a reversed 3.5 somersault with Tucker.

:10:44. > :10:49.Don't use them up this morning. A huge tariff dive. All of them are.

:10:50. > :10:54.This young man is top three in the world. This is just a sign of what

:10:55. > :11:01.is to come from this superstar in the making. Nearly 90 points in the

:11:02. > :11:07.preliminary. If that was in the final, they would give him nine or

:11:08. > :11:13.9.5. Why would they market differently? They want to give

:11:14. > :11:27.someone a go. They are still half asleep. James Denny going for a

:11:28. > :11:40.reverse 3.5 somersault. Just composing himself. Nice! Nice work

:11:41. > :11:46.from James. Right on the end of the diving board, giving himself a

:11:47. > :11:53.chance. Good take-off. Spotting the water three times. Good tuck as he

:11:54. > :11:59.reaches backing. Over 70 points. Four out of four for James Denny.

:12:00. > :12:10.Sevens across-the-board. He should be happy with that. Two more rounds

:12:11. > :12:23.to go. James Heatly. You will hear that big roar every time he steps

:12:24. > :12:32.up. A big tariff. 3.4. Forwards 2.5 somersault with 2.5 twists. A

:12:33. > :12:36.complicated one for the Scotsman. That is his biggest and most

:12:37. > :12:42.complicated dive and he does not disappoint. He delivers for five out

:12:43. > :12:50.of five. He must be absolutely loving it. So he should be. He is

:12:51. > :13:03.going to cruise into the final. Cruising in! Nice! A big wave, a big

:13:04. > :13:05.smile. Getting ready for the final. All three Englishmen and the

:13:06. > :13:06.smile. Getting ready for the final. All three Englishmen and Scotsman

:13:07. > :13:12.are through to the final later today. Jack Laugher at the top of

:13:13. > :13:35.the shop, leading by almost 50 points.

:13:36. > :13:50.It means we lose two Australians, one New Zealander and both of the

:13:51. > :13:56.Indians have gone. Well, the women's ten metre platform event has just

:13:57. > :14:21.started. Let's join Bob Ballard and Leon Taylor. A total of 72 for

:14:22. > :14:36.Meaghan Benfeito. One of the young Malaysian 's. Hoong with a forward

:14:37. > :14:43.3.5. It was a very good entry but she over rotated. Somehow managed to

:14:44. > :15:31.keep the splashdown. It could be a mixed bag from the judges.

:15:32. > :15:38.LEON TAYLOR: Was under pressure yesterday in the synchro, not quite

:15:39. > :15:46.able to deliver what they were looking for yesterday. But having a

:15:47. > :15:50.chance again here in the individual. Getting through, not

:15:51. > :15:57.doing anything too crazy, and certainly hits the mark in round

:15:58. > :16:15.one, dive one. Yes, not attempting to much in these early stages. The

:16:16. > :16:43.Canadian diver, who sounds like a question, up next.

:16:44. > :16:50.The degree of difficulty takes into account that this was a much more

:16:51. > :16:57.difficult dive to execute. Slightly rolling over, back towards the

:16:58. > :17:01.diving board. So probably, at the bottom of the leaderboard, rather

:17:02. > :17:09.than the top. Exactly right. Carol-Ann Ware, 52.8. Great

:17:10. > :17:20.variation in the marks from the judges. Now, anybody who has watched

:17:21. > :17:22.diving coverage with me on the BBC over the last decade will

:17:23. > :17:28.diving coverage with me on the BBC not like an stance. There is always

:17:29. > :17:32.the concerned that she is going to slip off the board. But they are

:17:33. > :17:32.seasoned slip off the board. But they are

:17:33. > :18:02.like an jake stands. Nice opening dive from Sarah.

:18:03. > :18:05.control. As nervous as you might be, opening up your campaign, when

:18:06. > :18:10.balancing from a handstand on the edge of a ten metre board. And that

:18:11. > :18:14.is just the easy bit. You then need to flick off, one and a half twists,

:18:15. > :18:20.double somersault, entry into the water. And Sarah Barrow goes into

:18:21. > :18:37.third place with that. One of the youngest competitors in

:18:38. > :18:57.the competition, Victoria Vincent. Oh, what a marvellous opening round

:18:58. > :19:04.dive from Victoria Vincent, from Team England, just 13 years of age.

:19:05. > :19:10.Tiny. She dives in Plymouth, under the watchful eye of Andy Banks. What

:19:11. > :19:15.a beautiful dive. You can see why this young girl won the British

:19:16. > :19:29.Championships. Tonya and Sarah were not there, of course.

:19:30. > :19:33.VV, more like a VW there, the way she went into the water. Motoring in

:19:34. > :19:46.for a good score. A little bit off from Melissa Wu

:19:47. > :20:04.there, as she entered the water. Causing a little bit of splash. She

:20:05. > :20:21.is an experienced diver, multiple medallist at the Commonwealth Games.

:20:22. > :20:28.A big roar for the third of the English divers, Tonia Couch. Back to

:20:29. > :20:48.and have some assaults, one and a half twists. She is going for a 3.2

:20:49. > :20:50.as an opener. What a dive! Now, that will put her top of the leaderboard.

:20:51. > :20:52.as an opener. What a dive! Now, that Interesting tactics. Tonia Couch,

:20:53. > :21:06.top of the leaderboard. That camera giving us a great view

:21:07. > :21:32.of the complexity of the dive. The Malaysian diver, Olympic

:21:33. > :21:35.medallist in this event. But that is not particularly sharp. Of course,

:21:36. > :21:41.it is the preliminaries, so the scores do not carry. She has got a

:21:42. > :21:48.strap on her ankle, which is quite usual for her. She was just unable

:21:49. > :21:51.to straighten out completely before she entered the water. The judges

:21:52. > :22:06.marks will reflect that. This is the lowest tariff dive that

:22:07. > :22:43.we have seen so far. Unusual to see a degree of

:22:44. > :22:48.difficulty like that. But this is one of the newest and youngest

:22:49. > :22:54.divers on the Malaysian team. So she, like Victoria Vincent, is

:22:55. > :24:05.building her list. So, knock so complex to start with.

:24:06. > :24:15.On to round two, and the first of the three Australians to go.

:24:16. > :24:21.Bringing the degree of difficulty up to the 3.2 region. And she will try

:24:22. > :24:39.to execute the best of her ability in round two.

:24:40. > :24:46.Well, Lara Tarvit is on fire. A good, solid dive to back up her

:24:47. > :24:57.first-round dive, which opened the competition. Two of the Australian

:24:58. > :25:02.men got eliminated, but Lara is making sure, and definitely throwing

:25:03. > :25:09.her hat into the ring on this one. She has backed up her opening round

:25:10. > :25:11.dive. Nice and consistent. Not too far wrong. And she is at the top of

:25:12. > :25:17.the order now. Next, the Canadian, ranked sixth

:25:18. > :25:27.after the first round. Just going not show up on the degree

:25:28. > :25:40.of difficulty. Oh, that is a big dive. 3.3 degrees

:25:41. > :25:45.of difficulty. The backward three and a half is tricky. You can only

:25:46. > :25:54.see where you have been, you cannot see where you are going. She does a

:25:55. > :25:57.good job, does not go away over. Sevens I think coming her way. A

:25:58. > :26:19.good second round dive. But was the Canadian number one.

:26:20. > :26:43.Now, the Canadian number two, Meaghan Benfeito.

:26:44. > :26:50.Well, she was having a good think about that, and I am not surprised.

:26:51. > :26:57.It is scary up on the 10m diving board. She is balanced backwards on

:26:58. > :27:03.her tip toes. Obviously you need to be a safe distance, but if you move

:27:04. > :27:08.too far away... I love this shot, the drop-down camera, showing you

:27:09. > :27:13.exactly what happens. Imagine trying to do that in real-time.

:27:14. > :27:19.Certainly very much in contention for a latter start in the final, at

:27:20. > :27:35.this stage anyway. 2.9 degrees of difficulty for the

:27:36. > :27:38.Malaysian athlete. Oh, this is a beautiful dive when it goes well.

:27:39. > :27:44.Just allowing the dive to get away from her little bit. Beautiful pike

:27:45. > :27:55.shape. Looks OK until here. Then she just tips over. Many tidal wave.

:27:56. > :28:01.Watching you and been, who was working for the host broadcaster,

:28:02. > :28:09.doing exactly the same thing at the same time. Synchronised indications

:28:10. > :28:17.- very good! Rachel Bugg, the Australian. So, we are not going to

:28:18. > :28:22.lose anybody this morning. All 12 will go through.

:28:23. > :28:38.Rachel Bugg, currently in fifth place. Oh, this is her bogey dive.

:28:39. > :28:42.She made an error on this in the synchro yesterday, which was

:28:43. > :28:47.costly, next to Melissa Wu. It is almost like the trap door opens up

:28:48. > :28:48.and she falls through it, and then tries to

:28:49. > :28:57.and she falls through it, and then to do a could not keep up with her.

:28:58. > :29:07.Well, she is watching it back on the big screen, and she will not be

:29:08. > :29:12.happy with that. 3.5s will not get the job done. But it does not

:29:13. > :29:23.matter. Get the bugs out of the system.

:29:24. > :29:33.Carol-Ann Ware, for Canada. She has got a 2.9, so, coming down in

:29:34. > :29:44.tariff. Again, a similar mistake to the Malaysian. The dive just gets

:29:45. > :29:51.away from her. She gets away a bit too much from the board, meaning it

:29:52. > :30:01.is difficult to control. So the dive does not want to stop and it wants

:30:02. > :30:10.to keep on spinning. A real mixed bag for Carol-Ann Ware. Sarah

:30:11. > :30:18.Barrow, in fourth place after round one.

:30:19. > :30:59.This is a 3.2 difficulty. Sarah, one of three English divers in here.

:31:00. > :31:12.she doesn't come out with confidence from the exit to the dive. Two bites

:31:13. > :31:19.of the cherry. 2.5 from one judge, 5.5 from another. Discuss. Well, I

:31:20. > :31:33.won't. You know how I feel about that. Victoria Vincent. DV to her

:31:34. > :31:45.friends, who include Leon Taylor as her mentor.

:31:46. > :31:59.Same kind of error. Just falling foul playing it safe. A good

:32:00. > :32:06.take-off. Just letting go a little bit too late. Rolling over the

:32:07. > :32:12.vertical, which is a shame but it is the challenge of these particular

:32:13. > :32:20.dives. A long way to go for this young lady in her particular career.

:32:21. > :32:34.Without any comment from me. 4.5 up to 6.5. That is why we have the

:32:35. > :32:48.three average cause. -- scores. It is arms down time. A free position.

:32:49. > :32:59.You do not hold the shape for more than half a somersault. It is a

:33:00. > :33:10.category in its own right. Double somersault is 1.5 twists off your

:33:11. > :33:28.hands. 1.5 seconds to get it done. Didn't quite shake the room but 6.5

:33:29. > :33:35.will do for her. This is our leader. She is the best at the moment.

:33:36. > :33:53.Always looks so focused. Looks pretty concentrated on what she has

:33:54. > :33:59.to do. 3.2 for her. What a dive! Get in! Unlike her team-mate and

:34:00. > :34:04.synchronised dive partner who was confident, she has absolutely

:34:05. > :34:13.smashed it. Look at this entry into the water. Now you see me, now you

:34:14. > :34:16.don't. Eight and 8.5 in coming. Recent fabulous performance of

:34:17. > :34:28.fourth in the World Cup in China is absolutely on fire. A member of the

:34:29. > :34:37.Edinburgh Fire Brigade. She might need to be extinguished, in the

:34:38. > :34:43.nicest possible way! She likes to get on with things. Doesn't hang

:34:44. > :34:55.around for long. She has got it right. She is the only one with a

:34:56. > :35:02.handle on it. A good take-off. She lets go of the shape of very early.

:35:03. > :35:08.She needs to. It will be eights across-the-board, or there about. It

:35:09. > :35:14.needs to be good for the execution. I am glad that you are confident

:35:15. > :35:18.with the judges, because I am not. That takes her up into fifth place

:35:19. > :35:27.at the moment. Three more rounds to go. For latecomers, I hope you have

:35:28. > :35:37.brought a note. Everybody does go through to the final. She has a

:35:38. > :35:49.forward 3.5. Alas Diver of round number two. Very tidy. Started with

:35:50. > :36:00.a very easy dive. This is one her more difficult ones. Good work.

:36:01. > :36:04.Making easy work of that five. Grabbing the hands. Punching and

:36:05. > :36:14.entry into the water. No splash. Well done. The way things are going,

:36:15. > :36:17.she will have a late start in the final tonight. Tonia Couch the best

:36:18. > :36:51.of the bunch. Just a chance to get the cobwebs out

:36:52. > :36:58.of the system as they prepare for the final tonight. Everybody will

:36:59. > :37:11.return. Just about to start round three. The Edinburgh venue is

:37:12. > :37:14.filling up. It will be absolutely packed on Friday and Saturday,

:37:15. > :37:26.definitely for the arrival of Tom Daley. We are watching the ten metre

:37:27. > :37:40.women's competition. She is second at the moment but 2.9 will not help

:37:41. > :37:49.her cause in staying there. Well, that is a blown dive. Bit of an

:37:50. > :37:55.understatement. Two fantastic dives from her and then letting go of her

:37:56. > :38:00.shape to early virtually killing her rotation and causing that tidal

:38:01. > :38:07.wave. Look at this. That hurts, as well. The amount of splash indicates

:38:08. > :38:12.that will have hurt the back and shoulders quite badly. She will have

:38:13. > :38:17.got a slap on her lower back and shoulders. You can see her holding

:38:18. > :38:26.back the tears. I hope she is OK to continue. That is how dangerous it

:38:27. > :38:37.is. Even on a 2.9 which is not the most complicated dive. It doesn't

:38:38. > :38:57.tickle. Forward 3.5 four Roseline Filion on. No mistakes from Roseline

:38:58. > :39:08.Filion. You can see that the pike shape is more like a puck shape, a

:39:09. > :39:17.combination of pike and tuck. We have discussed this before. It would

:39:18. > :39:26.delay the competition but it would be nice if the judges could look at

:39:27. > :39:27.a replay. You don't really care. It would just slow the competition down

:39:28. > :39:37.a lot. But wouldn't it make sure that we got the right marking.

:39:38. > :39:45.Meaghan Benfeito. that we got the right marking.

:39:46. > :39:49.made. It just goes to show. that we got the right marking.

:39:50. > :39:52.complex dive. One of that we got the right marking.

:39:53. > :40:03.difficult in the world, certainly in the female competition. Really

:40:04. > :40:06.feeling the effects. A big day yesterday. Crowned Commonwealth

:40:07. > :40:20.champion alongside her team-mate. That hurts. What I doing? Get after

:40:21. > :40:30.it. Put more effort in. Not what we expect of somebody of her stature. A

:40:31. > :40:42.lot of people are finding this preliminary a tough ask. Lovely. A

:40:43. > :40:48.classy dive. First rate indeed. Making a mistake on her previous

:40:49. > :41:02.dive. Inward 3.5, very classy. Good lines. She could get eights. It

:41:03. > :41:07.would get her 75 point. Eight precisely from all the judges that

:41:08. > :41:18.count. All of the judges apart from one in accord on that one. Waiting

:41:19. > :41:27.for the referee's whistle. She can now prepare herself for the armour

:41:28. > :41:42.stand. Double somersault, 1.5 twist. 3.2, the degree of difficulty. She

:41:43. > :41:53.has got to do some work. After her Miss app -- mishap on the inward

:41:54. > :41:59.2.5. She does over rotate which will cost her. But a much better

:42:00. > :42:09.third-round effort. She will feature higher up the leaderboard after her

:42:10. > :42:19.second round dive. 6.5 and six will be added into the school. We are

:42:20. > :42:25.getting an increment up on the degree of difficulty. This one is a

:42:26. > :42:31.slightly different armour stand. Arm stand, back, triple somersault.

:42:32. > :42:44.Tuck. All of the ingredients to bump it up to 3.3. It is just a case of

:42:45. > :43:01.getting her programme underway. What happened there? Is that OK? It is a

:43:02. > :43:08.restart. Doesn't hold the arm stand. You can see why I don't like that.

:43:09. > :43:22.Obviously the tricep injury affected her, the restart will mean a two

:43:23. > :43:33.point reduction from each judge. Look at the strapping. She is badly

:43:34. > :43:37.injured but still competed. A 2-point deduction on all of the

:43:38. > :43:45.judges which meant the dive was up there in the sevens. She will be

:43:46. > :43:50.glad that the arm stand is done and dusted. Everybody has to do one. You

:43:51. > :44:11.can do them of difference complex cities. -- complex

:44:12. > :44:18.not all females have to do the arm stand. They do five different dyes

:44:19. > :44:25.and there are six groups to choose from. Some girls elect to do the arm

:44:26. > :44:31.stand but not all are brave enough. In the men's competition they do six

:44:32. > :44:37.from six and it means that all men need to do an arm stand. The women

:44:38. > :44:42.have the option to miss out their least favourite group of dives. Lots

:44:43. > :44:52.of the ladies here today are using the arm stand but it is their

:44:53. > :44:59.choice. Yes, I thought there was something wrong with that score.

:45:00. > :45:04.That was not a 9.5 dive, was it? So, that has been altered, the score has

:45:05. > :45:11.been adjusted. Now, Sarah Barrow can continue. This is a forward three

:45:12. > :45:17.and a half some assaults. 3.0 degree of difficulty. Sarah, ninth place at

:45:18. > :45:27.the moment. She will hope to work her way up to a later finish. That

:45:28. > :45:31.is a good comeback from Sarah. A little bit tired out there this

:45:32. > :45:35.morning, not surprisingly, after yesterday's excitement, silver

:45:36. > :45:41.medallist, next to Tonia. Just throwing up a little bit of splash.

:45:42. > :46:03.She will get it, but this is the preliminaries.

:46:04. > :46:15.The 13-year-old on this forward two and a half some assaults, with one

:46:16. > :46:24.twist. The future of English and British diving, right in your

:46:25. > :46:29.picture now. LEON TAYLOR: Nice work, VV. She does

:46:30. > :46:36.a good job. One twist, into the remainder of the two and a half some

:46:37. > :46:40.assaults. Just a fraction over as she enters the water, and that is

:46:41. > :46:46.because of the launch and the take-off. Just waiting for the

:46:47. > :46:57.scoreboard. Taking it all in her stride. 13 years old. Conducting

:46:58. > :47:04.herself in a very professional way. Getting the feedback from Andy. Just

:47:05. > :47:13.saying, little bit soft in your lower back as you went in. Just

:47:14. > :47:18.guessing! It is a caption competition! There is no pressure on

:47:19. > :47:24.any of these girls this morning, because they are all through to this

:47:25. > :47:30.evening's final. This is getting used to the crowd and the

:47:31. > :47:36.atmosphere. That is all right, that is solid enough. Qualification

:47:37. > :47:47.already assured for the final. Melissa Wu, inward three and a half

:47:48. > :47:57.some assaults, with tuck. 3.2 difficulty, for the Australian.

:47:58. > :48:03.When we get to the end of round five, we will know where they are

:48:04. > :48:08.going to start in tonight's final. Oh, nice dive from Melissa. That is

:48:09. > :48:24.what we have come to expect. She has been on the diving seen for ages.

:48:25. > :48:38.Very technically efficient. She will get eight on that, I am sure.

:48:39. > :48:50.Tonia Couch will be hoping to hold onto first place.

:48:51. > :49:05.Three out of three four Tonia. -- for Tonia. Squeezing into that pike

:49:06. > :49:10.shape. Needs to be a little bit tighter in a little bit short of

:49:11. > :49:16.vertical as she goes in, but it is a solid dive. She will still be on top

:49:17. > :49:25.of the leaderboard. Yes, she has given herself a 14 point margin over

:49:26. > :49:35.the next best. Some finer points to be worked on by her and her coach,

:49:36. > :49:58.Andy. Pandelela of Malaysia, and here comes her arm stand.

:49:59. > :50:04.Nice work from the Olympic medallist from Malaysia, Pandelela.

:50:05. > :50:09.All-important control, up into the arm stand. Bending the knees,

:50:10. > :50:18.flicking the lakes to the rotation. Really smooth. She will be up there

:50:19. > :50:43.next to Tonia, or in that half of the leaderboard, for sure.

:50:44. > :51:21.Back three and a half some for Loh Zhiayi, of Malaysia. What is

:51:22. > :51:25.happening here, Leon? She obviously dropped her chamois.

:51:26. > :51:30.happening here, Leon? She obviously quite dry enough. She needs to be

:51:31. > :51:34.able to hold her shins. If her shins are not dry enough, and her hands

:51:35. > :51:46.slip, then the dive will go out of control.

:51:47. > :51:55.Oh, she just landed right on her back. Oh, I goodness! Now, that

:51:56. > :52:05.really, really hurts. Here we go, just let's go to early. Oh I cannot

:52:06. > :52:11.describe to you what that is like. It is like jumping off the roof of a

:52:12. > :52:18.building and landing on the tarmac. She is obviously tougher than I am.

:52:19. > :52:23.Well, she is saying she is all right, but it may take a little

:52:24. > :52:27.while for that to take effect. She had that water with a thud. We are

:52:28. > :52:36.talking about 30 miles an hour, and she went into the water on her back.

:52:37. > :52:46.And these marks will not give any cause for excitement, either.

:52:47. > :52:51.The marks do not matter, it is the long-term damage she might have done

:52:52. > :53:00.for tonight, which is more concerning. Moving on to round

:53:01. > :53:08.three. Lara Tarvit. This is the arm stand that you will have seen a few

:53:09. > :53:14.times already. It is a back double somersault, one and a half twists.

:53:15. > :53:22.3.2, the degree of difficulty. Lara, in seventh.

:53:23. > :53:29.Wow, she did not get much of a lift off the diving board on her take-off

:53:30. > :53:36.there. She seemed to just fall through the diving board. Yes, an

:53:37. > :53:41.unusual technique, this was her fourth round dive. It is better than

:53:42. > :53:45.the last one, although not as good as the opening two, which were

:53:46. > :53:51.really strong. Unusual technique, gets away with it. I was going to

:53:52. > :54:02.ask, was she actually under control there? Not really. But she gets the

:54:03. > :54:06.marks, anyway. She did not get penalised as much as she could have

:54:07. > :54:17.been, for that. Meanwhile, this is Roseline Filion. She is a very

:54:18. > :54:19.experienced, established diver. The arm stand back triple somersault

:54:20. > :54:41.with tuck. Oh, yes, nice dive.

:54:42. > :55:06.team-mate, Carolann, struggling on that the dive. Using the power in

:55:07. > :55:15.that flick kick. But is a good dive. And she has taken the lead. Now, the

:55:16. > :55:18.same dive, to be executed by her Canadian team-mate, Meaghan

:55:19. > :55:40.Benfeito. Sixth place at the moment. Just leaving the dive a fraction

:55:41. > :55:49.short. The take-off was excellent, probably a little bit better than

:55:50. > :55:54.her team-mate's. A strong push off the hands, though. A couple

:55:55. > :55:55.her team-mate's. A strong push off the hands, though. A of 6.5s in the

:55:56. > :56:20.mix. Konta Cheong Jun Hoong of Malaysia.

:56:21. > :56:26.That was a very, very simple reverse dive in the pike position. She is

:56:27. > :56:31.obviously having challenges with this particular movement. She has

:56:32. > :56:35.been having some challenges in training, so she is playing a game

:56:36. > :56:39.of tactics, going for the 1.9 degrees of difficulty, to save

:56:40. > :56:50.herself from wiping out. We have already seen one of those and we do

:56:51. > :56:55.not want to see any more. Hitting the water as hard as you do, from

:56:56. > :56:59.the 10m, things start to ache, and you are in pain. I thought it was a

:57:00. > :57:04.mistake you are in pain. I thought it was a

:57:05. > :57:10.on my screen, when I saw 1.9. Meanwhile, Rachel Bugg, with a 3.3.

:57:11. > :57:19.Back three and a half some assaults, with tuck. Oh, just about getting

:57:20. > :57:23.the dive in. A couple of rounds ago, she really struggled on the inward.

:57:24. > :57:31.This time she does not quite get enough height, and the tuck shape is

:57:32. > :57:38.way too open. Just about scrapes the dive in. There is lit in the tuck

:57:39. > :57:48.position, trying to speed up the spin rotation. And there she is,

:57:49. > :57:57.5.5s. As she looks back at the replay to see what she has done

:57:58. > :58:01.right or wrong. Now, how is Carol-Ann Ware going to recover from

:58:02. > :58:09.the last one, which did not quite go right. She is heavily taped on the

:58:10. > :58:19.wrist, and also on the arm as well. Yes, solid. Good entry into the

:58:20. > :58:25.water. You can see the heavy strapping on the right-hand side,

:58:26. > :58:29.the tricep and the right wrist. It is not uncommon for divers to have

:58:30. > :58:32.taping and strapping on the wrist, because that takes the brunt of the

:58:33. > :58:43.impact, as you punch a hole in the water. Good recovery.

:58:44. > :58:55.Reversed two and a half coming up now for Sarah Barrow. Not quite in

:58:56. > :59:03.the form that we know she is capable of.

:59:04. > :59:14.That is better. Like you say, not on her usual form,

:59:15. > :59:15.That is better. Like you say, not on but it does not really matter, as

:59:16. > :59:39.long as she turns up for the final. arch their, she should get sevens.

:59:40. > :59:44.Yes, she moves to tied to fifth. Victoria Vincent next up on the ten

:59:45. > :59:57.metres board. Amazing the impact hitting the water

:59:58. > :59:59.at 30 mph has on a still quite frail 13-year-old body.

:00:00. > :00:04.She will have the reverse to have somersaults, a lot more established

:00:05. > :00:12.divers than she having problems today. Hello! Blue cat that! That is

:00:13. > :00:17.why she is a force to be reckoned with. -- look at that! There can

:00:18. > :00:20.still be technical improvements on this take-off, she skips forward a

:00:21. > :00:26.little bit far away from the diving board here, but does she know where

:00:27. > :00:30.this dive is. Look at her entering the water. A little bit too far away

:00:31. > :00:37.from the diving board for nines, but she will not be far away. What a

:00:38. > :00:38.dive, even at this tender age able to perform on the biggest stage. 70

:00:39. > :00:50.points for her. Taking it all in her stride. First

:00:51. > :00:56.major international meet for Victoria Vincent. She seems to be

:00:57. > :01:00.backing it up. Melissa Wu has been around a lot longer, far more

:01:01. > :01:04.established. Again, not quite in top gear yet.

:01:05. > :01:11.Back three and have somersaults with the talks.

:01:12. > :01:19.Nowhere near top gear, idling at the side of the road with that one.

:01:20. > :01:23.Moving away with the shoulders, dipping back with the hips. That was

:01:24. > :01:24.all over from the word go. What a shame. It is a big dive.

:01:25. > :01:28.all over from the word go. What a going to be that costly but still

:01:29. > :01:31.not very nice landing on like that.

:01:32. > :02:17.33 total for Melissa Wu. Consistent performance so far,

:02:18. > :02:25.hoping this is just a sign of what will continue and will follow.

:02:26. > :02:29.Since the will continue and will follow.

:02:30. > :02:38.the competition and that will keep just there. Good dive. Yes, right

:02:39. > :02:52.where she wants to become in number one position. Tonia Couch has a lead

:02:53. > :03:00.of just over five points. She needs 79 to take the lead, quite a big

:03:01. > :03:04.ask. It is possible, but she will have to get nines to take the lead.

:03:05. > :03:10.She is not going to be too far away, that will get eights, definitely.

:03:11. > :03:13.Three and a half in the tuck position. Three and a half in the

:03:14. > :03:19.tuck position diving board, same distance from it, squeezed into that

:03:20. > :03:35.tuck shape. Good entry, she will certainly be in the top three.

:03:36. > :03:38.7.5s for Pandelela Rinong Pamg and that Mercer into the top three.

:03:39. > :03:43.Confirmation of that after we have seen the last diver in round of four

:03:44. > :03:49.for the panel to let dive of that round. This is the last one, am

:03:50. > :04:12.stand back double somersault one and a half twists in the free position.

:04:13. > :04:19.It is a good dive, she did not hold that the am stand for very long. It

:04:20. > :04:22.says on the rules you should hold the handstand or the am stand and

:04:23. > :04:28.show a comfortable balance before you go. That was quite brief, so the

:04:29. > :04:32.judges may take some points off there. The drive itself was quite

:04:33. > :04:42.good, so instead of 7.5 she might only get sixes.

:04:43. > :04:47.Mixed opinions from the judges. All three of those will board to

:04:48. > :04:52.water total of 62.40. This is how we look going into the final round. At

:04:53. > :04:56.the risk of repetition, to remind you we will not lose any divers

:04:57. > :05:02.before the final, all 12 will progress. At the moment Tonia Couch

:05:03. > :05:03.will be going last and Carol-Ann Ware will be going first in the

:05:04. > :05:07.final tonight. Into the last round of the ten

:05:08. > :05:43.metres platform for women. Well, that is the first of many we

:05:44. > :05:48.have seen in this final round. Nine out of the 12 divers are choosing to

:05:49. > :05:52.use this on the final round. This is the twist, specifically two and a

:05:53. > :05:57.half somersaults, one and a half twists. That is a good final dive,

:05:58. > :06:04.she has had three good ones. That will certainly see her break 300. It

:06:05. > :06:10.is a good score, she will be in the business end of the field when they

:06:11. > :06:13.reorder for the final later. Tonia Couch will be up around

:06:14. > :06:19.hopefully 350 if she gets things right on her final dive. Lara is

:06:20. > :06:29.probably around 45 points behind her in the end.

:06:30. > :06:35.Roseline Filion, 3.2 for the Canadian.

:06:36. > :06:40.That particular dive won her and her partner, up next, the gold medal

:06:41. > :06:47.yesterday, 24 hours ago. One and a half twists, straight up and down,

:06:48. > :07:06.seven .5. Good effort this morning. A total score this morning. Good.

:07:07. > :07:10.Very good. All of them will be returning

:07:11. > :07:14.tonight, but there is quite a big gap between Roseline Filion and Lara

:07:15. > :07:18.Tarvit. Here is another Canadian, Meaghan

:07:19. > :07:25.Benfeito, back to land have somersaults, one and a half twists.

:07:26. > :07:28.-- two and a half somersaults. Very good dive, just a bit of splash

:07:29. > :07:33.drawn up, other than that it was technically precise. The technique,

:07:34. > :07:37.swinging the arms, lifting them above your head then breaking one

:07:38. > :07:43.arm into the half twists, as you complete a somersault then you move

:07:44. > :07:48.into the remaining one and a half somersaults, making a total of two

:07:49. > :07:54.and a half somersaults, one twists. No time for taking notes in that

:07:55. > :07:56.dive. Back to and a half somersaults, one

:07:57. > :08:15.and a half twists. She is out of range for Roseline

:08:16. > :08:20.Filion points wise, Cheong Jun Hoong.

:08:21. > :08:25.Just marginally short of vertical as she entered the water. Weaker on the

:08:26. > :08:30.take off than some of the athletes we have seen before. Still a

:08:31. > :08:35.beautiful diver, though, great shape, just needed at 10.5 metres

:08:36. > :08:39.platform in order to get that one in, but unfortunately that was not

:08:40. > :08:50.available. She was short of vertical.

:08:51. > :09:01.6.5s across-the-board for Cheong Jun Hoong of Malaysia.

:09:02. > :09:09.The Australians, apart from the main, not having a great start,

:09:10. > :09:10.really, are they? Rachel Bugg, back to and have somersaults, one and a

:09:11. > :09:21.half twists. Yes, in word three and a half and

:09:22. > :09:26.about three and a half further down. This was a good finish. Losing the

:09:27. > :09:30.feet are little bit as she entered the water there. The judges may not

:09:31. > :09:32.see that from the side. They will see the splash because of the degree

:09:33. > :10:15.of difficulty it gets 65.6. I am so pleased she was able to

:10:16. > :10:18.unlock her arms out, because as much of sticky tape Verizon her holding

:10:19. > :10:23.her together I am surprised she has not having to be put back together

:10:24. > :10:29.after every round. Made of tough stuff, and that is a good finish,

:10:30. > :10:36.especially after that shambles on her handstand dive in round three.

:10:37. > :10:42.There we go, good enough, everyone goes through. Not really much at

:10:43. > :10:45.stake other than the order of dive in the final.

:10:46. > :10:51.Well, we will be back for more in the final later on today. Sarah

:10:52. > :10:59.Barrow, again, with that back two and a half. Trying to get some

:11:00. > :11:05.momentum to take into tonight's final if she can.

:11:06. > :11:09.That is much better. Faltering a little bit on this yesterday in the

:11:10. > :11:13.synchronised, she was gritting her teeth talking to me about it,

:11:14. > :11:17.thinking, if only I had hit it. If she had done it like that she would

:11:18. > :11:21.have been pleased. That just shows she has the kind of form she will

:11:22. > :11:30.need to feature in this evening's final. Good entering the water.

:11:31. > :11:39.She would have hoped for 300 plus, but 290 in the morning is OK.

:11:40. > :11:44.Now into the threes from the upper twos goes Victoria Vincent. A

:11:45. > :11:48.variation what we have seen up until now in this round, a foreword three

:11:49. > :12:02.and a half somersaults. Really attacking that take-off, just

:12:03. > :12:06.over rotating slightly as she entered the water, just tipping over

:12:07. > :12:10.from vertical, but, my goodness me, she cranks that start up a little

:12:11. > :12:15.too far away from the diving board, which means the control just drifts,

:12:16. > :12:21.the ankles moving away from vertical there. That is a good effort this

:12:22. > :12:25.morning from VV. Finished sixth after that last round, just watching

:12:26. > :12:31.the replay, we get a big smile and a wave.

:12:32. > :12:34.6.5s for Victoria Vincent and she will finish on 297.3, above Sarah

:12:35. > :12:41.Melissa Wu, back two and a half Barrow by seven points.

:12:42. > :12:51.Melissa Wu, back two and a half again.

:12:52. > :12:56.Better from Melissa Wu to finish, good entry into the water, hardly

:12:57. > :13:02.any splash being thrown up. good entry into the water, hardly

:13:03. > :13:09.with this now, many of the ladies deciding to finish with this one.

:13:10. > :13:17.The drop-down camera there gives you a real impression of

:13:18. > :13:21.the air. 68.80, she goes into the 300 club.

:13:22. > :13:26.It will have five members 68.80, she goes into the 300 club.

:13:27. > :13:28.shortly to join them. 68.80, she goes into the 300 club.

:13:29. > :13:33.from the front all the way 68.80, she goes into the 300 club.

:13:34. > :13:38.Tonia Couch going for something a little bit different.

:13:39. > :13:43.Tonia Couch going for something a and a half somersaults with ten

:13:44. > :13:49.three to finish. She has made a little bit of an

:13:50. > :13:54.error. No mistakes on the start of the dive. It is a game of tactics

:13:55. > :14:02.now. This is her favourite dive, she normally puts it on her head for

:14:03. > :14:05.nines. She sales over with all the adrenaline she has pumping through

:14:06. > :14:10.her veins. She has just overcooked it and that means she will not top

:14:11. > :14:14.the leaderboard, she will be in second, which is fine. She has

:14:15. > :14:19.qualified, 337 is still a good score and we want to see that dive in the

:14:20. > :14:23.final, Tonia, you can smile, you are through.

:14:24. > :14:28.I like the naughty schoolgirl look she has when she has done something

:14:29. > :14:38.wrong or has had a dive that did not go the way she wanted it.

:14:39. > :14:43.Pandelela Rinong Pamg, the back two and a half somersaults.

:14:44. > :14:49.Good work, I think that will put her about some of her competitors, that

:14:50. > :14:53.is a great dive to finish on. 3.2 degrees of difficulty. She has been

:14:54. > :15:02.there or thereabouts all morning. Straight up and down. Such a neat

:15:03. > :15:08.and tidy diver. She will be difficult to beat later. Please tune

:15:09. > :15:13.in later for the final, wherever you are.

:15:14. > :15:22.There is a question for you, we have joint leaders, saw who goes last

:15:23. > :15:29.tonight? Good question. Exactly the same

:15:30. > :15:30.mark, do they have two toss a coin for it?

:15:31. > :15:39.Rock, paper, scissors, maybe? Last one up with the inward three

:15:40. > :15:45.and a half somersaults with ten three.

:15:46. > :15:49.What a shame, coming out of the diver little early there. A little

:15:50. > :15:53.bit scared, I guess, as she swings around. Wants to get the dive done,

:15:54. > :16:00.just older bit too keen to be out. Short of vertical. The splash being

:16:01. > :16:44.thrown up coming back towards us there. That is how it finishes.

:16:45. > :16:46.Joint winners. Both of them on C where the English divers are. They

:16:47. > :17:01.will come back for the final. If you want to see the final, it

:17:02. > :17:03.will be on the BBC later on. Coming up on BBC Three, we have got the

:17:04. > :17:08.men's individual time trial. We've got factory boys and butchers'

:17:09. > :17:11.apprentices and office clerks Don't stop moving!

:17:12. > :17:17.If you go back you'll die! Hi, I'm Chi. Back to Glasgow after a

:17:18. > :17:39.quick update on Three. A new way to deal with people

:17:40. > :17:42.convicted of alcohol-related crimes. They'll be banned from drinking and

:17:43. > :17:45.forced to wear a tag which monitors West Ham's Ravel Morrison, has been

:17:46. > :17:49.charged with assaulting two women. The alleged assaults happened in

:17:50. > :17:52.Salford on Sunday. The Premier There's been a sharp fall in profits

:17:53. > :17:56.at British Gas. The big energy supplier saw them drop by 26% in the

:17:57. > :18:00.first half of the year. It's blaming How big is your waistline? We're all

:18:01. > :18:04.being urged to measure them. It's after figures showed that adults

:18:05. > :18:07.with a large waist were much more Chris Evans is happy. New listening

:18:08. > :18:13.figures show his Radio 2 Breakfast Show has a record audience of 9.91

:18:14. > :18:16.million listeners. That's almost four million more than rival Grimmy

:18:17. > :18:21.on Radio 1. More from us later, right now back

:18:22. > :18:25.to Lee for more live action from I leave the ashram, travel halfway

:18:26. > :18:34.across the world to find my father, Oh, well. As Vashrati says,

:18:35. > :18:42.gotta keep smiling! We don't tend to use the bathroom

:18:43. > :18:44.together here. All right, well,

:18:45. > :18:46.I'll catch you later. This ashram of yours,

:18:47. > :18:50.it might be a cult. I take it back,

:18:51. > :19:25.he's definitely Cuckoo's son. -- is the men's individual time

:19:26. > :19:31.trial. It has already started. At the finish is Jonathan Edwards. What

:19:32. > :19:38.are the conditions like? Not too bad. It is a little bit

:19:39. > :19:44.windy. You can see the flags here. There's no rain at the moment but it

:19:45. > :19:48.was winning five minutes ago. It was mixed conditions for the women, it

:19:49. > :19:55.was wetter. It was a very dramatic race. They hope for the men's race

:19:56. > :20:01.is that there will be some home countries success. The big support

:20:02. > :20:05.will be for David Millar in his final season as a professional.

:20:06. > :20:11.Writing for Scotland, he is the defending championship. -- reigning

:20:12. > :20:18.champion. His best chance will come in the road race. Grant Thomas, he

:20:19. > :20:27.has just done the race in France and his body could be battered. The

:20:28. > :20:32.smart money is on the Australian, will hang Dennis. Watch out for him.

:20:33. > :20:34.Let us hand over to the commentary team. Chris Boardman and Simon

:20:35. > :20:51.Brotherton. 60 riders in total going in

:20:52. > :20:59.ascending order. The first group went out after half past 12. There

:21:00. > :21:07.was a gap until the second group set off. The last rider, David Millar,

:21:08. > :21:18.the defending champion at 28 minutes past two. Michael Hutchinson from

:21:19. > :21:28.Northern Ireland is far from the end.

:21:29. > :21:41.This was the first meant for Chris Froome as he was going up in Kenya.

:21:42. > :21:53.-- mentor. He is well into his ride after being

:21:54. > :21:57.in the saddle for 45 minutes. He has about ten minutes left to keep

:21:58. > :22:02.riding. It could be a little bit less than that. The second part of

:22:03. > :22:07.the course is considerably faster. He is well on his way back into

:22:08. > :22:08.town. The roads are much bigger and dropping as we approach the River

:22:09. > :22:23.Clyde. The rider from the one that is the

:22:24. > :22:29.fastest of the early starters so far. Nobody flew to the finishing

:22:30. > :22:44.line yet. The fathers for what is the rider from Gibraltar. The sun is

:22:45. > :22:48.shining here but as you may have seen from earlier, different parts

:22:49. > :22:57.of the course, a matter of minutes apart, are enjoying very different

:22:58. > :23:03.weather conditions today. One minute to be large puddles at the side of

:23:04. > :23:09.the road, the rain bashing for the camera lens, and then the sun is out

:23:10. > :23:24.a few minutes later. For the first time ever, the road is bone dry. On

:23:25. > :23:30.the latter part of the course they will face a cross headwind back into

:23:31. > :23:37.town. Is the wind a major factor today, Chris? There are some large,

:23:38. > :23:44.exposed search actions in the middle third of this course. We are calling

:23:45. > :23:51.it a descent but it really is a false flat. It is slightly downhill

:23:52. > :23:59.in steps. Nothing too strong at the moment. It is about five miles per

:24:00. > :24:07.hour at the finish line. It is the luck of the draw which bit you

:24:08. > :24:10.happen to get. We can see Francis of Gibraltar. The weather conditions he

:24:11. > :24:18.has experience are completely different today. He will be heading

:24:19. > :24:37.up to the time check at 17.1 kilometres. 24 minutes, 25 seconds

:24:38. > :24:50.as the fastest time. He might slip outside of the top ten. This race

:24:51. > :24:52.goes in ascending order. All of the big favourites are

:24:53. > :25:10.goes in ascending order. All of the on the road. One of the riders from

:25:11. > :25:16.Kenny had and then he had problems with his

:25:17. > :25:20.pedal. After a lengthy stoppage, they try to see if they could make

:25:21. > :25:26.the break roadworthy. He swapped onto a spear and from the looks of

:25:27. > :25:33.things it did not seem like his shoes were compatible with the

:25:34. > :25:39.pedals on the bike. He had to disappear into the back of the

:25:40. > :25:57.Kenyan team car. This is now the rider from Belize. There's a big

:25:58. > :26:02.spread of abilities. Course at the front but there's a lot of people

:26:03. > :26:17.competing for the first time. That is Alexandra Park on the right-hand

:26:18. > :26:20.side if you know Glasgow. This was a section of the course where Linda

:26:21. > :26:40.was able to gain a few seconds on Emma earlier today. None of the 60

:26:41. > :26:44.riders have yet set a time to beat. We will be having the first rider

:26:45. > :26:51.across the finishing line in two or three minutes from now.

:26:52. > :27:17.We get an action replay. I could see that one coming. It is very

:27:18. > :27:23.slippery. You can see the changing conditions. We are straight back

:27:24. > :27:28.onto a sunny road. It is like we are splicing together footage from

:27:29. > :27:31.different days. We can assure you it is all happening alive. He is

:27:32. > :28:14.huddling down the Cumbernauld Road, back towards the East End. -- her

:28:15. > :28:21.billing. We are just a few hundred yards from the Sir Chris Hoy

:28:22. > :28:25.Velodrome. Pressing on into the city centre were big crowds are waiting.

:28:26. > :28:38.The big finish is here at Glasgow Green. Back with Mark Francis. 15th

:28:39. > :28:45.fastest at 17.1 kilometres. He is 1.48 minutes down on the rider from

:28:46. > :28:57.the wind. He had a little slip of the gears there. He is over halfway

:28:58. > :29:02.through his pain trial now. It is added height towards the end of the

:29:03. > :29:16.course, that is why they are getting more rain. I think he is near

:29:17. > :29:32.Moodiesburn at the moment. It is good to see so many people coming

:29:33. > :29:37.out to cheer the cyclists on. I think he is going to set a fast,

:29:38. > :29:47.early time. Nobody yet is over the line at the finish. He is nearly two

:29:48. > :30:04.minutes clear of the next rider. I think whatever marquee sets will

:30:05. > :30:08.stand for some considerable time. The 30-year-old from Gibraltar will

:30:09. > :30:15.be the first person to cross the line. They do a sweeping socket of

:30:16. > :30:33.the finish. This is about 45 seconds of riding to do when we pick them

:30:34. > :30:39.up. That corner can be tricky with some paving slabs, but now he is

:30:40. > :30:43.coming up the finishing straight. Julian Bellido will set the time to

:30:44. > :30:48.beat. 26 in this race four years ago in

:30:49. > :30:52.Delhi, 35th in Melbourne back in 2006. Here he is in Glasgow the

:30:53. > :30:57.first rider the crowds have seen. The crowds come as you can see,

:30:58. > :31:05.absolutely packed in your for this finish in the men's road time

:31:06. > :31:08.trial. The first rider in, and with one rider who we certainly know will

:31:09. > :31:13.not finish, by my reckoning probably 58 to go.

:31:14. > :31:18.He will be after his own personal best here, but, as you say, not

:31:19. > :31:29.vying for the podium spot today. This should be Jon Eley Hadi from

:31:30. > :31:34.Rwanda. -- Jean-Louis Hadi. -- Janvier.

:31:35. > :31:38.All of these corners are dry at the moment, could change any second.

:31:39. > :31:43.We can see here the change in the roads around the park, changes in

:31:44. > :31:50.width and surface. While they are dry it is not bad for the riders,

:31:51. > :31:53.but any hint of rain at all and it can become really quite

:31:54. > :32:06.treacherous. This is the one that takes a lot of them by surprise.

:32:07. > :32:14.David Kinjah Njau riding for Kenya. He is such an important figure in

:32:15. > :32:23.Kenyan cycling. For many years now, he has helped so many people.

:32:24. > :32:28.They have gained an appreciation of cycling and improved their lives

:32:29. > :32:33.through cycling. There he is coming into the finishing area. It will be

:32:34. > :32:41.the fastest time when he gets here, but I do not think it will be the

:32:42. > :32:44.fastest for long, because John VA Hadi -- Jean-Louis Hadi of the land

:32:45. > :32:52.that is not far behind him on the finishing circuit.

:32:53. > :33:02.He has lost a bit of in closing stages. -- impetus. Now it is

:33:03. > :33:05.looking a little bit laboured in the saddle.

:33:06. > :33:12.He is coming home in the Commonwealth Games for Kenya.

:33:13. > :33:16.David Kinjah Njau, up towards the line, you will

:33:17. > :33:24.David Kinjah Njau, up towards the a couple of minutes at least. After

:33:25. > :33:29.the best part of an hour in the saddle through the city and around

:33:30. > :33:32.the countryside near Glasgow. Here comes Janvier

:33:33. > :33:35.the countryside near Glasgow. Here the rider who won the first yellow

:33:36. > :33:39.the countryside near Glasgow. Here jersey in the tour of Rwanda

:33:40. > :33:50.the countryside near Glasgow. Here year. He is going to set the time to

:33:51. > :33:55.be there. -- the time to beat. He will not quite a bit of the leading

:33:56. > :33:59.time, nearly two and a half minutes. Janvier Hadi is the new early leader

:34:00. > :34:05.here. That is a very respectable ride, and

:34:06. > :34:09.average of 42 kilometres per hour riding a road bike with some

:34:10. > :34:13.triathlon bar put on. Talking of triathlon bars, there is

:34:14. > :34:17.Christopher Symons from Ghana, the rider who actually did finish the

:34:18. > :34:23.triathlon in 30 First Place at the start of the game. Here he is now

:34:24. > :34:30.just over an hour, nearly six and a half minutes back on the-year-old

:34:31. > :34:38.London's time. -- on the Rwandan's time.

:34:39. > :34:42.Tough, tough course, this. Janvier Hadi, so far of those out on

:34:43. > :34:55.the course at the moment, looks to me to be some considerable distance

:34:56. > :35:07.ahead of everyone else. I think his time will sit there for quite a

:35:08. > :35:12.while. This is Marvin Spencer from Antigua and Barbados. -- Antigua and

:35:13. > :35:21.Barbuda. 40 Antigua and Barbados. -- Antigua and

:35:22. > :35:24.Christopher Symons it has taken him just over an hour to complete the

:35:25. > :35:30.course. A mixture of showers.

:35:31. > :35:36.It gives you an idea of the specialisation required.

:35:37. > :35:39.It gives you an idea of the are not going to get within ten

:35:40. > :35:44.minutes of the guys who win this race.

:35:45. > :35:46.Some of the riders are we still have to see who have yet to leave the

:35:47. > :35:51.starter's gate, the next batch, the to see who have yet to leave the

:35:52. > :35:53.final batch, will not start going out

:35:54. > :35:59.final batch, will not start going One minute

:36:00. > :36:01.final batch, will not start going half an hour after that they will

:36:02. > :36:06.all be setting off. -- one minute past to Michael. David

:36:07. > :36:11.all be setting off. -- one minute Scotland as the defending champion

:36:12. > :36:27.will be the last. Joel Borland from Bailey's comes up towards the line.

:36:28. > :36:32.-- from Belize. Just 12 athletes from 12 -- Belize here in Glasgow.

:36:33. > :36:35.Really pushing hard in the closing stages of this one. Final corner

:36:36. > :36:48.coming up. Well, fair to say I don't think he

:36:49. > :36:55.will have too much more left in the tank when he crosses the line and

:36:56. > :37:01.you cannot ask for more than that. He is looking pretty spent. Totally

:37:02. > :37:06.spent. Will he get here in just under an hour? It will be close, and

:37:07. > :37:14.he will make it. Just under the hour mark. But, as you can see already,

:37:15. > :37:20.Janvier Hadi's time still stands and he is way, way up, over five minutes

:37:21. > :37:22.clear of Joel Borland. This is the first of the riders from

:37:23. > :37:32.Guyana, Marlon Williams. He has been taking his bike racing

:37:33. > :37:44.really seriously this year coming he says he has lost ?21 weight -- 21

:37:45. > :37:49.pounds since the start of the year. That is a lot of money!

:37:50. > :38:01.They start to come into the finishing area thick and fast now.

:38:02. > :38:21.The next one we can see here but Michael Kris Pradel.

:38:22. > :38:25.Kris Pradel, infuse you we received by those lining the finishing

:38:26. > :38:56.straight. 1.03.19. Here is Lee called the run now from

:38:57. > :39:00.Gibraltar. -- Calderon. The 34-year-old gets well inside the

:39:01. > :39:08.hour for this ride, just over four minutes down on Janvier Hadi.

:39:09. > :39:15.So far, nine riders have come in across the line. The rider there,

:39:16. > :39:23.number 45, is Dominique Mayho from Bermuda.

:39:24. > :39:29.You can see the tall it is taking, this course, on the riders. Their

:39:30. > :39:33.body language is completely different towards the end of this

:39:34. > :39:43.race, really fatiguing circuit. The rough surfaces just the muscles. --

:39:44. > :39:49.jarring the muscles. Receiving coaching and guidance from

:39:50. > :39:55.a former Olympic medallist from Canada, Brian Walton. Trying to find

:39:56. > :39:57.you and his talents. Dominik mail is the top cyclist in Bermuda, a young

:39:58. > :40:14.rider. -- Dominique Mayho. This is the Kenyan writer,

:40:15. > :40:24.second-fastest, one minute and a half down on Janvier Hadi. Ten three

:40:25. > :40:32.looks like he will get the closest to the Rwandan.

:40:33. > :40:38.Ten three looks to be riding very steadily, but in fact he just has a

:40:39. > :40:41.very efficient style, stayed in position, I don't not think we have

:40:42. > :40:53.seen him come out opposition for the entire day.

:40:54. > :40:57.He has looked very good so far. Samuel Anim from Ghana, the national

:40:58. > :41:08.road race champion of Ghana five years ago. The Ayr Road cycling team

:41:09. > :41:17.out to cheer them in the last few weeks after having got to know them.

:41:18. > :41:28.They have an acclimatisation camp in Ayr put up by the local council.

:41:29. > :41:33.45 is Dominique Mayho from Bermuda. Here at Glasgow Green. Circling

:41:34. > :41:37.around the technical area around the commentary positions, past the

:41:38. > :41:47.funfair. The wind is really blowing now, it

:41:48. > :41:53.is in their face as they come into the park and it is aiding them up

:41:54. > :41:56.this finishing straight. Unpredictable and billowing, as Anim

:41:57. > :42:00.comes towards the line seventh fastest.

:42:01. > :42:06.The best sprint of the day, though. He just beat his team-mate and

:42:07. > :42:09.compatriot, Christopher Symons. The two riders from Ghana are in as we

:42:10. > :42:15.wait here for Dominique Mayho from Bermuda.

:42:16. > :42:17.This is a very respectable time here.

:42:18. > :42:25.Third quickest at the last time check. One minute and three quarters

:42:26. > :42:30.down on Janvier Hadi, roughly. He will not challenge the leader, but

:42:31. > :42:33.he will be up towards the top of the leaderboard, Janvier Hadi the leader

:42:34. > :42:38.in the clubhouse. He could move into second place

:42:39. > :42:43.here. In fact, I think he will. He looks to be finishing strongly with

:42:44. > :42:46.just over 250 metres to go. Just one straight sprint to the line

:42:47. > :42:53.in blustery conditions here. He lost a little bit of time thereat

:42:54. > :43:09.area. It will take him up He lost a little bit of time thereat

:43:10. > :43:15.the end on Janvier Hadi, but a good ride nonetheless for Dominique Mayho

:43:16. > :43:18.of Bermuda. Rwanda, Bermuda and Kenya in the

:43:19. > :43:28.first three places at the moment. That, of course, will change as the

:43:29. > :43:33.race goes on, but there is Muya of Kenya who has produced a really good

:43:34. > :43:38.ride so far. He has a few minutes of riding to do

:43:39. > :43:44.yet. His style is just completely steal, isn't it? He is doing quite a

:43:45. > :43:49.lot of freewheeling now, as well, as he sets up for this corner, comes

:43:50. > :43:54.off the bars, the first time we have seen that in this race.

:43:55. > :44:05.He is well on his way, that is the right turn into Gallowgate, the wide

:44:06. > :44:09.boulevard into town. This looks like the rider from

:44:10. > :44:25.Antigua and Barbuda in towards the finish here. It is, it is Bridges.

:44:26. > :44:31.Bridges over the line, and again 15 seconds quicker than his team-mate

:44:32. > :44:34.and compatriot, Marlon Spencer. Also the rider from India, he was

:44:35. > :44:43.the rider who fell off a little earlier on,, that was Arvind

:44:44. > :44:47.Panwar, and his time at the finish good enough for fourth at the

:44:48. > :44:51.moment, two minutes 37 down. We are back with ten three from Kenya. --

:44:52. > :45:23.Muya from Kenya. have came in so far. Big names will

:45:24. > :45:33.be out within the next 45 minutes. The next batch of riders going out

:45:34. > :45:43.just after the hour mark. Back with Mark Francis from Gibraltar. The

:45:44. > :45:52.last time we looked he was in 15th position at the earlier time checks.

:45:53. > :45:59.Maybe dropped a little bit further down the board. We will keep an eye

:46:00. > :46:08.on him. I do not think he has gone through at 52 kilometres. He was

:46:09. > :46:15.3.16 minutes down. This is not far from Glasgow Green. Left-hand turn

:46:16. > :46:23.into Glasgow Green for a bigger loop. Into the last couple of

:46:24. > :46:29.minutes of his ride. He will have to work hard to keep hold of his second

:46:30. > :46:37.spot at the moment. It is in his grasp. He is one of those deceptive

:46:38. > :46:43.riders. He does not look like he is grasp. He is one of those deceptive

:46:44. > :46:54.time checks, he is powering along the road. Certainly get

:46:55. > :46:56.time checks, he is powering along consistency, wouldn't he? He is

:46:57. > :47:01.heading in the general direction of the River Clyde, down towards the

:47:02. > :47:07.river. Coming into the park proper now. Now he should go down towards

:47:08. > :47:20.the river. Meanwhile, we await now. Now he should go down towards

:47:21. > :47:52.further arrivals. 14 riders are in at the

:47:53. > :48:09.Just one more time. Here it comes now.

:48:10. > :48:19.Less than 200 metres to go, up towards the finishing line.

:48:20. > :48:44.Strong finish. Finishing in one hour six minutes. Just over 11.5 minutes

:48:45. > :48:51.down. Here comes the rider from Kenya. He looks like he has kept

:48:52. > :48:55.this one going. He could get the second fastest time as he comes

:48:56. > :49:06.towards the finish. He does indeed do that. He is a couple of minutes

:49:07. > :49:11.down on the rider from Rwanda. Bermuda have been moved down into

:49:12. > :49:16.the bronze medal position. He kept it going throughout. He was steady.

:49:17. > :49:42.Now the first of the riders from Malawi. Coming over the line. His

:49:43. > :49:51.top is open. I did not think he would be suffering their from heat

:49:52. > :49:57.in Glasgow. -- suffering from heat in Glasgow. Carefully not something

:49:58. > :50:02.I expected when I wandered down to the finishing area earlier on today.

:50:03. > :50:15.He looked quite fresh as he pedalled away. I hope he realised that the

:50:16. > :50:16.race was finished. The raider from the Seychelles coming up towards the

:50:17. > :50:39.line. -- rider. 21 years of age. They really are

:50:40. > :50:44.spread out around the circuit now. Raiders gaining several minutes on

:50:45. > :51:11.each other. They are coming in at a different order than what they went

:51:12. > :51:22.out at. You can see it is quite windy here at the finishing line.

:51:23. > :51:26.This time trial takes in the countryside of North Lanarkshire. It

:51:27. > :51:41.cuts across East Dunbartonshire before heading back into Glasgow

:51:42. > :51:55.Green. It is Osborne, the 31-year-old. One hour, three

:51:56. > :52:08.minutes, 34 seconds. The Kenyan has been the class of the riders to have

:52:09. > :52:20.gone out on the course so far. Simon is good enough for seventh fastest.

:52:21. > :52:35.Already, the top 20 are separated by 11 and a half minutes. The rider

:52:36. > :52:39.from Belize, Giovanni Lovell. He has done pretty well. He was a late call

:52:40. > :52:45.up. He only knew that he was riding about three weeks ago. He seems to

:52:46. > :52:52.be covered in gaffer tape for reasons we cannot work out. Just

:52:53. > :53:06.making a right tunnel into the Gallowgate coming back into the

:53:07. > :53:14.city. -- right turn. 32 years of age. Down in 17th place. He will not

:53:15. > :53:24.finish near the top of the leaderboard. Geoffrey of Guyana

:53:25. > :53:32.making his way in, the 20-year-old. Another rider who will finish inside

:53:33. > :53:34.one hour. It might be good enough for seventh place. It will be good

:53:35. > :53:52.enough for seventh place. Most of these riders will be back

:53:53. > :54:05.for the road race on Sunday afternoon.

:54:06. > :54:16.Francis, again we go back to him. He has dropped down to 18th at the 32

:54:17. > :54:20.kilometre mark. 22 riders have came in from this early batch. We are

:54:21. > :54:27.just a few minutes away from saying the second batch of riders heading

:54:28. > :54:31.out from the start at Glasgow Green. We are sticking with France's at the

:54:32. > :54:36.moment but he will not appear at the top of the leaderboard. The second

:54:37. > :54:49.rider from Malawi is on his way to the finish. He is writing a new

:54:50. > :55:31.bike, kindly donated by the local bike shop. -- riding. Every rider

:55:32. > :55:45.getting a rousing reception through the streets of Glasgow.

:55:46. > :55:55.That is the corner that will take into finishing straight. One last

:55:56. > :56:04.push for the line. We have seen some good spins through this finishing

:56:05. > :56:08.straight. -- good splints. The crowd seemed to lift them. We should see

:56:09. > :56:16.some good ones at the weekend as well. It is narrower than it looks.

:56:17. > :56:21.We were quite surprised when we came and saw the circuit and the width of

:56:22. > :56:26.this. There's the possibility in the road race that we will see a road

:56:27. > :56:31.race and it is only about three or four metres. I thought it was just

:56:32. > :56:39.for the time trial but it is apparently for the road race as

:56:40. > :56:50.well. We could have a breakaway group or a loan when. We might not

:56:51. > :57:08.necessarily have a bunch finish. -- a lone winner.

:57:09. > :57:13.That lip of the park at the end when you think you have reached the

:57:14. > :57:18.finish but you haven't, you have got a couple of minutes to finish and

:57:19. > :57:21.there is a tricky corner at the end that thankfully is not wet. There

:57:22. > :57:43.are plagued -- The weather was more of an issue for

:57:44. > :57:50.the women's race this morning. The Canadian was the only athlete that

:57:51. > :58:03.we had noticed had taken a chunk out of her side as she had went round.

:58:04. > :58:23.13th place from the 24 who have crossed the line so far.

:58:24. > :58:29.This looks like the rider from Rwanda. He was the last rider from

:58:30. > :58:33.the opening batch. He has been at the world governing body 's training

:58:34. > :58:47.centre in Switzerland this year. I do not know how much this has helped

:58:48. > :58:56.in 2014. Sprinting the finish. 36 point 38. Good enough for second

:58:57. > :59:19.place. The wind-up occupying the first two positions in the

:59:20. > :59:31.clubhouse. -- Rwanda. He is up to 16. Mark France's finishing

:59:32. > :59:37.strongly. 16th place at the moment for the rider from Gibraltar. I

:59:38. > :59:57.think this was the Indian rider who crashed earlier. Just coming into

:59:58. > :00:04.view now. 45 seconds to go. Nearly every event there was, he turned up.

:00:05. > :00:08.He is making the most of his time in Glasgow, getting stuck into all of

:00:09. > :00:14.the events. He looks like he will finish inside the hour mark. It has

:00:15. > :00:27.long finishing straight that we have got here. Hadi has been in the top

:00:28. > :00:32.of the leaderboard for a while now. We have a rider from the Seychelles

:00:33. > :00:43.coming in. I don't think anyone is going to touch Hadi, that is the

:00:44. > :00:47.strongest rate of the morning. Edward Pothin preparing to come in,

:00:48. > :00:57.the national road champion of the Seychelles in 2012.

:00:58. > :01:09.When you look at the times this Open eight -- opening batch of riders

:01:10. > :01:14.separated by up to eight minutes. That is the difference even in this

:01:15. > :01:18.first batch of riders to go out. As Pothin races up towards the line.

:01:19. > :01:21.What a welcome sight that must be, seeing the gantry before you and

:01:22. > :01:42.knowing you have almost made it. The line, eking out a second

:01:43. > :01:51.dorsal, six minutes down on Hadi of Rwanda. We see the class of that

:01:52. > :01:57.first batch, Janvier Hadi and violence and assigned -- failings in

:01:58. > :02:13.deciding -- villains in den IDs now we have at the start of the

:02:14. > :02:19.second batch of riders, in fact we have missed one of the first riders

:02:20. > :02:23.to leave the starter's date. No, it is Smith from the Cayman Islands,

:02:24. > :02:34.who is the flag bearer for the Cayman Islands. It seems a long time

:02:35. > :02:36.ago now, the opening ceremony, but very impressive
