:00:22. > :00:50.The Mall in central London has played host to some spectacular

:00:51. > :00:54.events this summer. This weekend, Buckingham Palace is at the heart of

:00:55. > :01:00.what's billed as the world's greatest festival of cycling.

:01:01. > :01:05.Tonight, the main feature is the RaboLiv an elite women's circuit

:01:06. > :01:11.race with a route that takes in some of the capital's most iconic sites.

:01:12. > :01:18.The race in its fourth year is a UCI World Tour event. The prize pot of

:01:19. > :01:21.100,000 euros is the biggest offered for the women's one day race.

:01:22. > :01:29.Alongside me is Rochelle Gilmore former Commonwealth Champion and

:01:30. > :01:35.manager of a successful team. A lovely day. I was out there on the

:01:36. > :01:43.Cycle it has free Been fantastic. It's a 's a WorldTour event. What

:01:44. > :01:47.does that mean for the riders? More pressure and global interest as

:01:48. > :01:51.well. The main thing that impacts the riders is points are on offer

:01:52. > :01:56.for their world rankings. That is important to the value of the rider

:01:57. > :02:02.and team. The WorldTour status adds a lot to this event. Many familiar

:02:03. > :02:05.faces are preparing for Rio. There are big names this race from the

:02:06. > :02:09.British point of view? Absolutely. There are a lot of athletes,

:02:10. > :02:15.international athletes, who are going to Rio tomorrow Ormond. The

:02:16. > :02:26.British athletes with we have Hannah Barnes. She will be one to watch.

:02:27. > :02:30.Sarah storey is using this as preparation. Danny King is on the

:02:31. > :02:36.road with something to prove -- Dani? She had a tough couple of

:02:37. > :02:42.months not making the selection for the radio in Rio. That was a big

:02:43. > :02:47.ambition for her. This race means a lot to her. She wants to do and she

:02:48. > :02:50.will give it her best tonight. She has been a great are are of the

:02:51. > :02:58.track. Another international star of the track in the Velodrome come Rio

:02:59. > :03:02.is a Kirsten? She won in Yorkshire and she loves this race. She is

:03:03. > :03:06.training for Rio. This course is really going to suit her. She will

:03:07. > :03:10.be extremely difficult to beat if it comes down to a bunch sprint. Who is

:03:11. > :03:30.your money on? It will be Chloe Hosking, who is on

:03:31. > :03:35.fine form. We will leave it there. The race is underway. On the start

:03:36. > :03:42.line our reporter Tim caught up with one or two of the British riders.

:03:43. > :03:47.Welcome to The Mall. You must be excited to be racing in London?

:03:48. > :03:52.Epic. Her Majesty's house is at the end. It brings gooses bumps back

:03:53. > :03:57.from four years ago. How does it prepare you for Rio? It's a flat

:03:58. > :04:01.race. Rio will be hilly. The speed will be immense. My last big race on

:04:02. > :04:07.the road iechl' excited to give it a good crack. Est about of luck out

:04:08. > :04:12.there. Let's go. Let us see if we can grab Dan. How are you feeling?

:04:13. > :04:16.Are you excited? Really excited. Amazing to race here in London. It

:04:17. > :04:21.will be a fast, furious race. I can't wait. Best of luck out there.

:04:22. > :04:26.Thank you. Enjoy it. Thank you. We have a quick word here, if we can,

:04:27. > :04:33.Hannah, can we dive in. You must be pretty proud to be rocking the

:04:34. > :04:40.British jersey? It's great. To be wearing the jersey here is really

:04:41. > :04:45.special. Look where we are. To do a show for everyone who is here to

:04:46. > :04:50.support us. Plans for the race? I can't tell. It will be a brunch

:04:51. > :04:56.sprint. It is windy. It will come down to a sprint, like it normally

:04:57. > :05:00.does. Best of They are out luck. There. We will get to the action

:05:01. > :05:04.now. Rochelle is in the commentary box to join Simon Brotherton who can

:05:05. > :05:08.talk us through the new and extended course for 2016. The Classique

:05:09. > :05:12.starts and finishes here on The Mall. The riders head towards

:05:13. > :05:17.Buckingham Palace at the start of the 12 lapse before bearing right

:05:18. > :05:21.and heading up Constitution Hill. The peloton turns before reaching

:05:22. > :05:26.Hide Park Korn corner they race down the op side of the road with the

:05:27. > :05:31.Palace on their right hand side. Then Birdcage Walk, a long, flat

:05:32. > :05:36.wide expanse of road as they head towards Big Ben and Parliament

:05:37. > :05:42.Square. Then left onto Whitehall, past the Cenotaph, Downing Street

:05:43. > :05:46.and Horse Guards Parade and main of central London's iconic sites. Right

:05:47. > :05:51.at Trafalgar Square on to the Strand, a U-turn before Aldwych.

:05:52. > :05:56.There starts the run into the finish via St Martin in the Fields,

:05:57. > :06:01.Trafalgar Square through Admiralty Arch, 500 meters to go to the

:06:02. > :06:05.finishing line right here on The Mall. There is every chance it will

:06:06. > :06:08.be a sprint as well. Lovely evening for a bike race. The weather

:06:09. > :06:20.improving all the time. Here are some of the riders to look out for:

:06:21. > :06:27.among them is Hannah BP arnes. Kirsten Wild. Chloe Hosking won last

:06:28. > :06:34.week. Lotta Lepisto was second in Paris a week ago. Some of the names

:06:35. > :06:41.to look out for from today's field. Let us join live particular tours.

:06:42. > :06:47.Allen made a break on the front from Orica. We are on the finishing line

:06:48. > :06:54.here. Rochelle Gilmore is with me. Someone has made a break away. There

:06:55. > :07:03.is a gap here. The unrelenting pace has made it impossible so far? A

:07:04. > :07:08.great bike ride by Allen. Orica have fast riders, not sprinters. Not as

:07:09. > :07:13.fast as some of the top sprinters. Allen has been in Europe a couple of

:07:14. > :07:20.weeks joining Orica mid season. She comes from the domestic team in

:07:21. > :07:29.Australia and has got a professional contract with Orica and is making

:07:30. > :07:32.her mark at this race. The Dutch rider let the strungout peloton

:07:33. > :07:36.across the line. The nature of this course make it is very difficult for

:07:37. > :07:42.a rider to get away and to stay away. One of the tactics we are

:07:43. > :07:46.seeing today, Rochelle, which we see in women's racing, riders accelerate

:07:47. > :07:51.and try to draw the sting from the others to force them to chase, to

:07:52. > :07:55.keep the pace high? I have to say this race has been on from the

:07:56. > :08:06.start. There have been teams who wanted to attack. One that stands

:08:07. > :08:13.out to me wanting to make a graebg break away. This is the richest ever

:08:14. > :08:16.one-day women's Michael race, 100,000 euros in total the prize

:08:17. > :08:22.fund. Parity with the men. A major break. It's a landmark day for

:08:23. > :08:27.women's cycling, isn't it? Athletes are appreciative of this race, to

:08:28. > :08:33.have that prize money, they want to race. Allen is trying to hold them

:08:34. > :08:39.off. You can see how hard the riders are,ing behind to p it off. It's

:08:40. > :08:49.fast race. It's difficult for the break aways to stay away. The

:08:50. > :08:53.RaboLiv is the squad of Voss, not racing today, her team-mates are.

:08:54. > :08:58.High class across the board squad they are. Lucinda Brand took the

:08:59. > :09:03.first. Three sprints along the way. 1,000 euros for the first rider over

:09:04. > :09:07.the line, 500 for second, 300 to third. Lucinda Brand was first on

:09:08. > :09:11.sprint number one. She was third on sprint number two as well. It does

:09:12. > :09:17.seem as if the RaboLiv are quite keen on taking as many of the creams

:09:18. > :09:22.they can. Aalong the way? They are aggressive and want to race hard and

:09:23. > :09:28.create the race rather than sit back and wait for it happen. They have

:09:29. > :09:36.been active in the first race. There is a rider there from Wiggle High5.

:09:37. > :09:39.The peloton is getting tired. It's not a planned out chase at the

:09:40. > :09:44.moment. One rider here and there from different teams, getting to the

:09:45. > :09:57.front and having a bit of a go. We are watching a wearing down process

:09:58. > :10:02.here. You see now rider of Hitec Products. The standout favourite for

:10:03. > :10:09.the day. Her team are anxious. They want to close it down. A big threat

:10:10. > :10:14.from Pieters. Up to the front of the peloton when they came down The Mall

:10:15. > :10:18.a few minutes ago. That is Ingrid Drexel. She was involved in a break

:10:19. > :10:23.earlier on in the race. It didn't manage to gain any real traction.

:10:24. > :10:28.Certainly, Pieters strong at this stage. There is confirmation of the

:10:29. > :10:35.three riders at the head of the race. This is a sprint lap year.

:10:36. > :10:40.Allen letting Pieters slip in on the second wheel. She wants a rest. That

:10:41. > :10:44.is common courtesy. If a rider is out there and you catch them you let

:10:45. > :10:49.them miss a turn. I'm sure Allen will want to punch through for a few

:10:50. > :10:54.turns am she is a gutsy rider. Young and raw to the sport in Europe. She

:10:55. > :10:59.will have a go. She's not scared of failure. She will get out there and

:11:00. > :11:04.lay it all on the If they work line. Together will she be glad of the

:11:05. > :11:08.company? She will be pleased the riders came across. That is more of

:11:09. > :11:11.a chance to stay away. A small chance. Kirsten Wild has called a

:11:12. > :11:15.few of her riders to the front to bring this gap closer. They may not

:11:16. > :11:19.want to bring it back immediately. They will want to keep it in reach.

:11:20. > :11:22.Tens of thousands of people have been out riding on closed roads in

:11:23. > :11:27.the centre of London today, including yourself this morning on

:11:28. > :11:30.the Freeride? That is right. That was me. I have done it for a couple

:11:31. > :11:34.of years. It's something I look forward to this morning. Seeing the

:11:35. > :11:36.children loving being on closed roads much they love being

:11:37. > :11:42.surrounded by people. Telling people to move out of the way, I'm coming

:11:43. > :11:47.through. Move over, mum, #3406 over dad. Great experience for me. I love

:11:48. > :11:52.being amongst all the people doing the Freecycle. 60,000 people.

:11:53. > :11:58.Something like that on the streets of London today. Finally, they

:11:59. > :12:07.closed the roads off inn even to those cyclist an hour before this

:12:08. > :12:11.race. The Women's World Tour much Nelson's Collum out of your so the

:12:12. > :12:18.on the left hand side. Past Charing Cross station any moment there. On

:12:19. > :12:22.the right. The thr riders have a small lead. They are hanging on to

:12:23. > :12:25.it at the moment. Small being the operative word. Coming back quickly

:12:26. > :12:29.much they were three strong riders having a go. It proves how difficult

:12:30. > :12:34.it is on this course to stay away. The peloton is packed through of

:12:35. > :12:38.sprinters. Most of the teams have an interest in closing down all of

:12:39. > :12:42.these breaks. Certainly, if that's the case, they is have managed to do

:12:43. > :12:46.so well in this race. There has been a great intensity about the racing

:12:47. > :12:50.here. Little in terms of Yeoing back in forward off the front of the

:12:51. > :12:54.peloton. As Rochelle was saying, many of these attempted break aways

:12:55. > :12:57.have been reeled in. So many have a vested interest in making it a

:12:58. > :13:01.sprint at the end of this race. A good number of riders not here

:13:02. > :13:08.because of the Olympic Games next week. Weekend. The women's road race

:13:09. > :13:13.a week today. In a week's time we will be watching the women's road

:13:14. > :13:20.race in Rio. What a race it promises to be. As an Australian, I'm not

:13:21. > :13:25.sure how interested you would be. Lizzie one of the favourites for the

:13:26. > :13:32.Gold medal? I'm excited about that road raise. Lizzie has been the

:13:33. > :13:36.strongest all round female cyclist. The Olympics is one day. It's

:13:37. > :13:41.dependent on your team. Dependent on luck and being in the right move.

:13:42. > :13:46.It's one day in four years you have to get everything completely right.

:13:47. > :13:49.A very tough course next weekend for the riders in the Olympic Games.

:13:50. > :13:54.Tougher than you would normally expect. Not necessarily perfect for

:13:55. > :13:59.Lizzie. She can do it. Not per folk for her. It's my opinion it's not a

:14:00. > :14:04.course with her name on it. She is capable of winning the bike race.

:14:05. > :14:07.One of the smartest bike riders I have ever seen the way she races.

:14:08. > :14:11.She is capable of the win in Rio. It will be exciting to see one of the

:14:12. > :14:14.best riders win on the day. I'm excited about the race. Sglp we have

:14:15. > :14:18.a sprint on our hands here as they come up towards the line. Rattling

:14:19. > :14:22.down The Mall 300 immediate meters to go. The race strung out. It's a

:14:23. > :14:26.good sign of the pressure and the speed there. The riders hurtle up

:14:27. > :14:32.towards our commentary position here.

:14:33. > :14:41.With money on the line. One of the sprints coming up here, you can see

:14:42. > :14:45.how keenly contested it is as well. And very, very close as they came

:14:46. > :14:50.over the line. It looks as though Sara Roy from Orica AIS put in a

:14:51. > :14:58.late lunch to the front. It was. Certainly seeing a good race from

:14:59. > :15:01.Orica AIS. Sara Roy has been named as their sprinter for today so it's

:15:02. > :15:05.interesting to see there, she is using energy to go for an

:15:06. > :15:10.intermediate sprint. Sometimes athletes will do that to test their

:15:11. > :15:13.legs and see how they are feeling. Orica AIS are here for Sara Roy in

:15:14. > :15:19.the spring. Talking about Lucinda Brand as well, scoring points and

:15:20. > :15:23.money in the first, and she was second in that one as well. Sara Roy

:15:24. > :15:34.first over the line. Lucinda Brand second. Lotta Lepisto was third.

:15:35. > :15:37.There is the third. We should keep an eye on Lotta Lepisto as well if

:15:38. > :15:44.it comes down to a sprint in the end. Absolutely, she's had fantastic

:15:45. > :15:48.results recently, she hasn't pulled off the big win but we have seen her

:15:49. > :15:53.before, in Paris last weekend she finished second which was fantastic.

:15:54. > :16:03.Chloe Hosking, the winner, is in this race. One of the most powerful

:16:04. > :16:08.sprinters in the women's peloton. Some have been very focused on the

:16:09. > :16:14.track for the Olympics. Interesting that she can derive London. We see

:16:15. > :16:18.that she means business. -- came to write. She is staying in a good

:16:19. > :16:24.position and looks super comfortable. Some people who follow

:16:25. > :16:29.women's cycling or watch the women's Tour from the roadside earlier this

:16:30. > :16:33.summer may remember Lotta Lepisto, if they think the name sounds

:16:34. > :16:39.familiar, she won one of the stages into catering. She certainly did,

:16:40. > :16:44.the last stage, in very good form. And that was one of the hardest

:16:45. > :16:48.races. Athletes described it as one of the hardest they have done this

:16:49. > :16:57.year. The breakaway on the last day means you must be pretty fit and in

:16:58. > :17:01.good condition. The women's Tour last over several days seems to have

:17:02. > :17:05.firmly established itself very quickly in terms of status within

:17:06. > :17:10.the calendar when you look at this year as a whole. It is incredible to

:17:11. > :17:14.see this race and how it is run and how many spectators and fans get

:17:15. > :17:17.behind it and follow it. It has only been in the list and is for three

:17:18. > :17:22.years but it is one of the most efficiently run teams. Great prize

:17:23. > :17:26.money, great organisation, and the athletes really respect the efforts

:17:27. > :17:31.to put a race on the calendar that is as professional as the men's.

:17:32. > :17:35.Still a pretty big peloton we've got out there, and they've been out on

:17:36. > :17:40.the road now for over an hour. Like I was mentioned to you before, on a

:17:41. > :17:45.course like this, even as an unfit sprinter like myself, if I was to

:17:46. > :17:48.jump in there, I would not say it is easy because you would be hurting

:17:49. > :17:53.like crazy, but you would be able to hang on. That's why we see the

:17:54. > :17:56.peloton is still very large. There's a massive difference between being

:17:57. > :18:01.at the front and hanging the back. Being on the front, doing turns,

:18:02. > :18:05.taking team-mates from the back to the front. There is a big difference

:18:06. > :18:09.between being active and just hanging on. Is this race a major

:18:10. > :18:14.step forward from the first three years when it was a circuit race

:18:15. > :18:18.around St James's Park? Absolutely, now it is globally recognised.

:18:19. > :18:21.Especially within the cycling world it is a respected race. Everybody

:18:22. > :18:25.talks about it the whole season because of the prize money. Very

:18:26. > :18:28.significant for these athletes who might not have as big salaries as

:18:29. > :18:33.the men, obviously. This kind of prize money makes a big difference

:18:34. > :18:38.to their season. It's the biggest race by a mile, financially? Yes,

:18:39. > :18:41.Yorkshire was quite big but London came up with a lot more money, so

:18:42. > :18:48.this is the richest women's one-day race in the world for cycling.

:18:49. > :18:51.Peloton with three laps to go over the line, still very much together

:18:52. > :18:56.if a little strung out. Do you think this will be the pattern from here

:18:57. > :19:00.to the end? Do you feel there will be riders desperate to chance their

:19:01. > :19:04.arm and catch somebody asleep? I think there will be some. There will

:19:05. > :19:09.be some late attacks from some riders but it will be difficult for

:19:10. > :19:15.them to stay away. Most riders will have tired legs. These sprint teams

:19:16. > :19:19.have very strongly doubt trains as well. Coming into the last two or

:19:20. > :19:21.three laps, a lot of things will be closed down by the sprinters teams

:19:22. > :19:27.which is the majority of the peloton. It will be difficult for a

:19:28. > :19:30.strong rider to get away. We've seen strong riders like Lucinda Brand

:19:31. > :19:40.been very active, not sitting back and waiting for the one last move.

:19:41. > :19:45.The team of Kersten wheeled sending some up to the front, who won

:19:46. > :19:52.detoured Yorkshire earlier this year, ending in a big sprint. And

:19:53. > :19:54.she would probably be the standout favourite, certainly one of the top

:19:55. > :20:00.two or three if it comes down to a sprint in most people's eyes. She

:20:01. > :20:06.has certainly won a lot of bike races and this year she has focused

:20:07. > :20:10.on the track. She's a sprinter that when she targets a race like this

:20:11. > :20:13.one, it's very important to her. She does not line up unless she's really

:20:14. > :20:18.switched on, and she knows she's got the form to take the win. Like we

:20:19. > :20:22.said, in a sprint, there's a lot of sprinters in this peloton. We have

:20:23. > :20:29.not seen Chloe Hosking at this level before in her year. She has really

:20:30. > :20:32.lifted her level best year. What is the big difference for somebody like

:20:33. > :20:38.Chloe Hosking who won the big race, in Paris, and to have some big wins

:20:39. > :20:43.actor back in recent years. She not a new rider, she's been around a

:20:44. > :20:47.long time. Is it confidence? Is it just mental development? Or is it

:20:48. > :20:56.opportunity? Chloe Hosking is only 25. She's been around for a very

:20:57. > :21:01.long time but she's done her time on proteins as a domestique. When she

:21:02. > :21:06.first came into the Wiggle High5 team she spent a year in the lead

:21:07. > :21:10.out train. Now this year with those athletes having other focuses she's

:21:11. > :21:14.had more opportunities. And she's not only taken those opportunities,

:21:15. > :21:17.she's taken in fine style. She's showing that she's super fast,

:21:18. > :21:26.powerful and a lot of people are talking about her for the victory in

:21:27. > :21:33.at the World Championships. -- the victory in Qatar. The peloton are

:21:34. > :21:37.all still together in this, the 13th event of the women's World Tour of

:21:38. > :21:42.the season, as they come through Admiralty Arch, and they will see

:21:43. > :21:49.the finishing line in front of them. We have not seen too much about

:21:50. > :21:54.Cromwell from Canyon SDRAM racing, she could be one to watch for the

:21:55. > :21:57.finish. Team-mate of Hannah Barnes. So her job will probably be leading

:21:58. > :22:01.out Hannah Barnes, that's what normally happens when you are racing

:22:02. > :22:06.on home ground with two riders of the same level. Tiffany Cromwell we

:22:07. > :22:13.can see her just on the left of the screen. Looks like a black and pink

:22:14. > :22:17.jersey, black jersey with the pink stripes across it almost by midweek,

:22:18. > :22:20.middle your picture now. Hannah Barnes, the British National Road

:22:21. > :22:25.race champion, to let you know, she is in a white jersey with a single

:22:26. > :22:30.red and blue band around the chest, the national champion Sio jersey.

:22:31. > :22:42.She will be there or thereabouts, one assumes, should it come down to

:22:43. > :22:47.a sprint. Big wide boulevards for these riders, plenty of room for the

:22:48. > :22:50.peloton to get through, not too tight and technical for them.

:22:51. > :22:54.Certainly not like those races they are used to in Italy and Belgium on

:22:55. > :23:00.those super narrow roads. They will love this surface and this course

:23:01. > :23:04.being so fast. They race last weekend on novels, a bit steadily

:23:05. > :23:08.for the legs. Something about this kind of surface and this time of

:23:09. > :23:22.evening, it feels superfast. Clearly not as slippery as those cobbles in

:23:23. > :23:30.Paris on the Champs-Elysees. Yes, we saw crash after crash last year. The

:23:31. > :23:34.Ale' Cipollini squad with the yellow jerseys, they've got two or three

:23:35. > :23:38.options, haven't they? Two or three fast finishers among their six.

:23:39. > :23:43.There is Hannah Barnes in the white jersey on the second row at the

:23:44. > :23:46.moment. You also see any kingdom into the front just behind the

:23:47. > :23:51.motorbike, moving to the middle-of-the-road. She really wants

:23:52. > :23:56.to take control for her team-mates -- you also see Danielle King. She

:23:57. > :23:59.will look for an opportunity for a late break but if she does not feel

:24:00. > :24:03.the moment is right she will be their 100% for her sprinter Chloe

:24:04. > :24:06.Hosking. No doubt having missed out on Olympic selection she would be

:24:07. > :24:11.more than delighted to remind everybody off her great ability on

:24:12. > :24:15.two wheels today. Absolutely. I've just been amazed at how she has

:24:16. > :24:19.handled the mental stress that comes with doing everything you possibly

:24:20. > :24:24.can all year, and she ticked a lot of boxes. She actually impressed not

:24:25. > :24:29.only everyone around her but also herself this year. She's really

:24:30. > :24:32.achieved more than we expected. But unfortunately it wasn't enough and

:24:33. > :24:36.that's been quite difficult for her, at she's dealt with it in a positive

:24:37. > :24:39.way. She must be somebody who is very passionate and loves her sport

:24:40. > :24:43.otherwise you would not get out their race after race since the

:24:44. > :24:46.selection was made. She loves to race and she's got a heavy calendar

:24:47. > :24:50.between now and the end of the season. For many viewers who just

:24:51. > :24:54.watch cycling occasionally, they will perhaps remember her as part of

:24:55. > :24:59.the team pursuit squad with Laura Trott winning the gold medal in

:25:00. > :25:01.London four years ago. She is an Olympic gold medallist but

:25:02. > :25:05.concentrating much more on the road these days and she has had

:25:06. > :25:10.considerable success, particularly this season. Well, absolutely. Being

:25:11. > :25:14.on the inside of the team she writes for I'm able to see how hard she

:25:15. > :25:18.works. Others may not see that, but she has really risen to the occasion

:25:19. > :25:21.of a top women's team on the road very quickly, faster than we thought

:25:22. > :25:26.she would make the progression from track to road. She's definitely

:25:27. > :25:30.amongst the top 20 cyclists in the world and she's always there, always

:25:31. > :25:38.in the top ten, always willing to give 100% for her team-mates. On lap

:25:39. > :25:45.ten of 12, here. As the riders had down bird cage Walk. The latest to

:25:46. > :25:50.chance her arm and try to get some freedom off the front has a go,

:25:51. > :25:54.disappearing among the trees. I imagine it's a lead that will not

:25:55. > :25:59.last long, but it opens up a bit as they head down towards Parliament

:26:00. > :26:04.Square. You can see Danielle King making the move we spoke about,

:26:05. > :26:08.wanting to close this town, responding to all the moves. It will

:26:09. > :26:13.be her back closes this one down. Looks like she might be working 100%

:26:14. > :26:16.for her sprinter, she's doing the bulk of the work, riding on the

:26:17. > :26:22.front and taking the wind. Not setting herself up for a fresh

:26:23. > :26:30.attack. It may be that Chloe Hosking is feeling good. It will be

:26:31. > :26:35.interesting to see quite how fast Chloe Hosking is in a straight drag

:26:36. > :26:39.race against some of the others. Last year 's winner is not in the

:26:40. > :26:45.field, and that helps a little. But there are many others. That was a

:26:46. > :26:49.top sprinter that won here last year, she had a heavy fall in Paris

:26:50. > :26:55.last week and has broken her elbow. So unfortunately she is out this

:26:56. > :27:01.year. But the favourites like Chloe Hosking, Leah Kirchmann, we will see

:27:02. > :27:08.Hannah Barnes up there, Orica AIS with Sarah Roy, some really strong

:27:09. > :27:12.riders. You can see the Wiggle High5 rider coming into your screen just

:27:13. > :27:15.now. You can see when an athlete reaches for the radio, that means

:27:16. > :27:20.she wants communication with her athletes, she may want more support

:27:21. > :27:25.at the front. Lucy Garner and Amy Pieters are behind, she may want

:27:26. > :27:28.them in front for some confidence. Cervelo Bigler coming up to the

:27:29. > :27:37.front as well. Lotta Lepisto looking good. You can see the team on the

:27:38. > :27:41.right of your screen, they look like they are setting it up for Leah

:27:42. > :27:46.Kirchmann, and they have got seriously strongly doubt train, one,

:27:47. > :27:52.two, three, four, five. So that the team with it together -- serious

:27:53. > :27:56.lead out train. We've been talking about Chloe Hosking for Wiggle

:27:57. > :28:01.High5, how about Lucy Garner? She's also a fast finisher. Certainly a

:28:02. > :28:04.very fast finisher. Second to custom them feel that the Torah of

:28:05. > :28:07.Yorkshire this year and she's another that's coming to a very

:28:08. > :28:10.strong team with limited opportunities but we do know that

:28:11. > :28:16.she superfast. She's an outside chance for the world as well, riding

:28:17. > :28:20.with Lizzie Armitstead. She may go as a support rider. But when Lucy

:28:21. > :28:23.Garner has her opportunities she's one of the fastest sprinters in the

:28:24. > :28:31.world. We are heading down towards the business end of this Classique,

:28:32. > :28:35.as they are calling it. 20,000 euros to the winning rider, 10,000 euros

:28:36. > :28:39.to the best team, based on getting the first four riders from your team

:28:40. > :28:43.over the line. So there's plenty to race for, for the whole of the

:28:44. > :28:48.peloton, here, between now and the end of the race. That's Lotta

:28:49. > :28:53.Lepisto's team on the front at the moment. She's one of those who will

:28:54. > :28:59.be trying to keep our powder dry up until the final moment, preparing

:29:00. > :29:02.for what promises to be a tough sprint. The riding the bike with the

:29:03. > :29:07.pink on the jersey in third place, there are just keeping an eye on

:29:08. > :29:10.things on the half of Hannah Barnes. Yeah, that's Tiffany Cromwell. Like

:29:11. > :29:15.we said it would be nice to see her do the job for Hannah Barnes today.

:29:16. > :29:19.There she is, she just rode up to the wheel of Tiffany Cromwell. So

:29:20. > :29:23.she's put herself in the right position. She can see her lead out

:29:24. > :29:26.rider is there and it is her responsibility to get to that wheel.

:29:27. > :29:30.Tiffany Cromwell will look round at where she is, but they do have

:29:31. > :29:32.radiocommunication. And now they are giving hand signals, so there's some

:29:33. > :29:43.communication going on there. That was not Hannah Barnes. Those

:29:44. > :29:47.two riders will be looking for the jersey. Up towards the front there,

:29:48. > :29:54.Barnes. She go over the line. They take the bell.

:29:55. > :30:07.One lap to go. The riders have the bell ringing in their ear as they

:30:08. > :30:11.cross the line. They are massing at the front on behalf of low pressure

:30:12. > :30:16.len at the moment. She is has warranted the support of her

:30:17. > :30:23.team-mate like this with the great results coming second. They are

:30:24. > :30:28.getting swamped in there now. Liv-Plantur, they have their stuff

:30:29. > :30:39.together at the front. They are looking comfortable. You can see

:30:40. > :30:43.Wiggle High5, Amy Pieters there. The fact we haven't see much of Kirsten

:30:44. > :30:52.Wild. She has been hiding among the wheels so far. She hasn't looked

:30:53. > :30:56.comfort. Middle of the peloton she had one team-mate with her in case

:30:57. > :31:00.she gets into trouble. We will see if we can pick her out from the

:31:01. > :31:07.back. She is closer to the front. We can see her there. She's the rider a

:31:08. > :31:12.little bit taller than everybody else. Riders fanned across the

:31:13. > :31:17.Danielle King in the middle of your picture, in the black and orange.

:31:18. > :31:22.Turning there. Short of Hyde Park Corner. You need to be in a good

:31:23. > :31:26.spot and when they turn at the end of the Strand before the final

:31:27. > :31:31.kilometer. If you are caught out there you have a lot of chasing

:31:32. > :31:36.there to get back to the front. After so many lapse, on the final

:31:37. > :31:42.lap they need to be positioned at the front to save energy. RaboLiv

:31:43. > :31:46.don't want it to come down to the a bunch sprint. It will be hard to

:31:47. > :31:56.make a move off the front this close to the finish.

:31:57. > :32:05.Stringing it out a little bit. Another Australian there riding for

:32:06. > :32:09.RaboLiv. A specialist in time trialing. If anyone can do this,

:32:10. > :32:13.it's going to be a time trial specialist. It looks like it will be

:32:14. > :32:20.nearly impossible for any of these riders to clip off the front. Look

:32:21. > :32:27.that is way. Former road champion there. Former winner in the Giro.

:32:28. > :32:32.Racing at the highest level for a number of seasons now. She wasn't

:32:33. > :32:35.able to open up a little gap on the front of the peloton. The pace

:32:36. > :32:40.getting higher and higher all the time. Liv-Plantur have control of

:32:41. > :32:44.this race. Their riders are comfortable. They have put a lot of

:32:45. > :32:48.training into their leadouts. They know each other very well. The

:32:49. > :32:52.French team, we have not spoken much about them, they have two fast

:32:53. > :32:53.sprinters. Lucy Garner moving to the front, trying to bring her sprinters

:32:54. > :33:11.into position. Two French righters who could get

:33:12. > :33:14.into the mix here. We are trying to spot that race favourite today,

:33:15. > :33:18.Kirsten Wild. She is in there. She is looking comfortable. She is a

:33:19. > :33:26.further back. A very confident sprinter. She is about 15th. Middle

:33:27. > :33:32.of the picture. She is. In a blue jersey with black-and-white on it.

:33:33. > :33:36.Physically, bigger and stronger. She looks it than many of the other

:33:37. > :33:41.riders in the peloton. A strong looking sprinter as opposed to a

:33:42. > :33:47.small, slight one with a very low aerodynamic position. She.

:33:48. > :33:56.She is known as the Queen of Qatar. She has chosen to follow Chloe

:33:57. > :34:00.Hosking. She is on the wheel of Chloe Hosking. Hosking certainly of

:34:01. > :34:04.this field has been the form rider in recent weeks, hasn't she, the

:34:05. > :34:09.Australian, Chloe Hosking, the Wiggle High5 rider. Plenty of team

:34:10. > :34:12.Liv-Plantur riders on the front. The green and white helmets much the

:34:13. > :34:21.black outfits with the green and white on. Their main rider is Leah.

:34:22. > :34:26.Trafalgar square and on to the Strand now. You can see that the

:34:27. > :34:33.pace of the peloton is quite high. There are a few riders at the back

:34:34. > :34:37.struggling there. Rochelle, they will be fighting for a good position

:34:38. > :34:41.before the U-turn in the road. This will string the peloton out? It's an

:34:42. > :34:46.important and significant part of this course, the corner, roundabout

:34:47. > :34:49.to get around that U-turn. It's not really about the position is about

:34:50. > :34:54.saving the legs. It's not about how hard it is. How much do you have to

:34:55. > :34:57.work and how much effort you have to put in, damage the legs before that

:34:58. > :35:03.final sprint. They will want to save themselves. Be in a good position,

:35:04. > :35:08.glide around the corner and save their legs for the final sprint.

:35:09. > :35:12.That important corner coming up on the Strand before Aldwych. They

:35:13. > :35:16.start the run into the finish now. Tiffany Cromwell there. The rider we

:35:17. > :35:19.said would be supporting Hannah Barnes much she put the ma'am hammer

:35:20. > :35:24.down out of that corner. She wants to hurt people and catch a few

:35:25. > :35:29.people out not in the best position. Tiffany Cromwell doing a mountain of

:35:30. > :35:33.work on the front there for her team. They have a couple of riders

:35:34. > :35:37.up towards the front. Hannah Barnes in a good position. Fourth in line

:35:38. > :35:43.at the moment. She is in a good spot. Kirsten Wild is further back.

:35:44. > :35:48.She is about 12, 15th at the moment. You can see that Chloe Hosking is

:35:49. > :35:51.back there next to Kirsten Wild much they are far back right now. Think

:35:52. > :35:58.know the course better than anyone. They have done it a few times.

:35:59. > :36:05.Hannah Barnes is in a good position. Through Trafalgar Square. Towards

:36:06. > :36:13.Admiralty Arch. Tiffany Cromwell has one of the riders from Liv-Plantur.

:36:14. > :36:17.The main two with 500 meters to go in the Classique. Riding on the

:36:18. > :36:21.front and #408ding the front at the moment is Tiffany Cromwell. Still

:36:22. > :36:26.nobody has come past her yet. One or two of them biding their time in the

:36:27. > :36:31.sprint here. This is interesting. Tiffany - A crash in the middle of

:36:32. > :36:36.the road. Most riders have avoided it. The sprint is on now. Kirsten

:36:37. > :36:40.Wild has made her move to come through the middle of the road. A

:36:41. > :36:44.long way to go. It's Kirsten Wild on the front. Here she is, the Dutch

:36:45. > :36:49.woman. She is the one to beat. She is the one they haven't to beat.

:36:50. > :36:53.Only showed her face at the front in the final few seconds of the race.

:36:54. > :37:02.But they were the final few seconds that really mattered. She bided her

:37:03. > :37:11.time in among the wheels. She pounced on The Mall to win the

:37:12. > :37:16.Classique and the 25,000 euro first prize. Her focus has been on the

:37:17. > :37:19.track for the Rio Olympics. She was the favourite today. She meant

:37:20. > :37:24.business. That is a super impressive sprint. A powerhouse sprinter. She

:37:25. > :37:29.showed it there. Kirsten Wild takes the win. Lensworld lens came in

:37:30. > :37:50.second. Liv-Plantur third. Hannah Barnes the British national

:37:51. > :37:54.champion in ninth place. Her sister, Alice, one place behind in 10th.

:37:55. > :37:58.Chloe Hosking 11th. An exciting sprint. The sprinters we assumed

:37:59. > :38:03.would be up there, bar Chloe Hosking, who didn't have a great

:38:04. > :38:08.sprint, boxed in and struggling to pick up her speed, these names we

:38:09. > :38:12.expected to be in the front. Wild owns these sprints and races. She

:38:13. > :38:17.powered away from the field there, Kirsten Wild. In sprinting terse she

:38:18. > :38:28.won that by a mile. That was a superb performance. Nina from

:38:29. > :38:33.Lensworld. What a back drop London has provided this evening for this

:38:34. > :38:42.race with the sprint for the line. Within sight of Buckingham Palace.

:38:43. > :38:48.RaboLiv continuing tomorrow with the Ride 100 and the Ride 46, the men's

:38:49. > :38:53.race in the afternoon. That is on BBC One from 3.30pm. Chris froom

:38:54. > :38:56.among that field, the Tour de France winner. What a sprint there at the

:38:57. > :39:01.end of the women's race. Tough to get away on a fast, wide open course

:39:02. > :39:13.like this. There, as you can see, clear daylight for the winner.

:39:14. > :39:26.Kirsten Wild of the Netherlands. Kirsten Wild adds her name to the

:39:27. > :39:28.role of honour. Laura Trott won the first one. Barnes finished second in

:39:29. > :39:45.the first race. It was Kirsten Wild in 2016. It will

:39:46. > :39:49.be interesting to see how she fairs in Rio. Pretty well I should think

:39:50. > :39:54.with the form she has at the moment. The tour de-Yorkshire winner.

:39:55. > :39:58.Winning in Britain once again. A stage of the Tour ofical for this

:39:59. > :40:06.year. Rochelle talked about how good she is. How well she has done in the

:40:07. > :40:14.Tour of Qatar. Four times she is has won the classification in the

:40:15. > :40:19.women's tour of Qatar. Let's confirm the result from the Prudential

:40:20. > :40:28.RideLondon Classique. Wild wide the winner. Nina Kessler in second

:40:29. > :40:32.place. Leah Kirchmann third. Hannah Barnes in ninth place in the sprint

:40:33. > :40:36.for the line. We will hear from the winner in a few moments' time.

:40:37. > :40:40.Rochelle sprinted down from the commentary box to join me now on The

:40:41. > :40:44.Mall. You predicted a Kirsten Wild winch you got it bang on right? She

:40:45. > :40:51.is so difficult to beat in races like this. She owns these type of

:40:52. > :40:55.fast races. Shi came off that track preparation you could see her how

:40:56. > :41:00.focused she was. She came to win the race. She was hard to beat. Super

:41:01. > :41:03.impressive sprint. I have watched her sprint for many years, I

:41:04. > :41:07.sprinted against her, to watch the powered and see her ride awhich and

:41:08. > :41:19.put lengths into the riders was impressive. Four years ago it was

:41:20. > :41:21.another Dutch rider who lit up the Olympics Voss beating Armitstead?

:41:22. > :41:26.She is a different rider to her? Completely different. All the same

:41:27. > :41:34.today, a hard race. You could see the sprint was a sprint among tired

:41:35. > :41:43.race. The riders who went for the minor placings were tired at the

:41:44. > :41:47.finish. The peloton sprint finish they rode hard, no chance of a break

:41:48. > :41:51.away. The majority of the teams had a sprinter shech wanted their

:41:52. > :41:56.chance. Hannah Barnes in ninth could have been second or third. All the

:41:57. > :41:59.teams who had a chance to be on podium dedicated their day to bring

:42:00. > :42:04.everything together for a sprint. Chloe Hosking wasn't in the right

:42:05. > :42:07.place at the right time? This is the wonderful and beautiful thing about

:42:08. > :42:11.cycling. You can never know. She won in Paris last week. This weekend

:42:12. > :42:15.struggled in the finish much she didn't look good the whole race.

:42:16. > :42:19.Sometimes that happens. One of your riders wandered in. We will grab her

:42:20. > :42:26.now. Danielle King join us here. Good to see you. Straight off the

:42:27. > :42:30.bike. Well done you. Straight into a microphone. I didn't see you finish.

:42:31. > :42:34.You did a lot of work in the front for your team? I felt really good

:42:35. > :42:38.today. One of the best I have felt all season, to be honest. I was up

:42:39. > :42:42.there near the front trying to chase everything I could. Made a few

:42:43. > :42:48.attacks myself. It was going to be a hectic finish. I wanted to get my

:42:49. > :42:52.job done before a few laps to go. I just rode my heart out for the the

:42:53. > :42:57.team today. Felt good. How does it feel to be riding in London, four

:42:58. > :43:01.years on from the success on the track, here you are on the road?

:43:02. > :43:06.Amazing. I love it. It brings back memories. I can't believe it was

:43:07. > :43:09.four years ago, it has gone quickly. Wonderful to race in London. Great

:43:10. > :43:17.to ride in front of the crowds again? Amazing. All my family are

:43:18. > :43:22.here and fiancee. Lovely to have so much to support. Kirsten Wild what a

:43:23. > :43:28.fantastic sprinter she is? Amazing. Fresh, going off to Rio tomorrow to

:43:29. > :43:33.race. She was going to be one of the favourites to win. Amazing ride.

:43:34. > :43:37.This was the sprint finish here. She is so powerful. We have seen it time

:43:38. > :43:40.and time again on the track. When she gets in front it's very

:43:41. > :43:45.difficult to come round her, isn't it? Exactly. She gets herself in the

:43:46. > :43:51.right position. There is no coming round her, no way. She will be

:43:52. > :43:55.racing against your pursuit team-mate, Laura Trott. They have

:43:56. > :44:00.different characters. Kirsten Wild powerful cyclist. Laura much

:44:01. > :44:05.smaller, pack as punch from her weight to power ratio she does well?

:44:06. > :44:12.Dpbthly. I had a coffee with her yesterday. I'm hoping she can go out

:44:13. > :44:17.and do the same as she did in London again. You are disappointed not to

:44:18. > :44:22.be involved in the Great Britain team in the road race as well. A

:44:23. > :44:30.tough couple of months? It has. I'm gutted. Ted. In the form I'm in it's

:44:31. > :44:34.a shame. I don't want to be bitter. I wish them the best. I'm gutted I'm

:44:35. > :44:38.not going. You have a wedding to look forward to? Next year. That is

:44:39. > :44:42.keeping me occupied planning that. That is keeping me happy. Thank you

:44:43. > :44:48.very much for saying hello to us much I will let you go. You needed

:44:49. > :44:51.to rehydrate. Danielle King wonderful champion here in London

:44:52. > :44:56.with the track and pursuit team four years ago.

:44:57. > :45:03.But what a team member to have on your team? It's been amazing. It's

:45:04. > :45:07.been difficult to see the hurt and pain she's been through trying to

:45:08. > :45:10.manage the emotions involved with not being selected for something

:45:11. > :45:14.you've worked so hard and long for. But she's a true professional, the

:45:15. > :45:19.way she handled it, the way she just gets out there. She loves racing so

:45:20. > :45:23.much. Like tonight, giving her heart and soul to her team-mates. Really

:45:24. > :45:27.nice to see her racing and getting her head clear. It was indeed. We

:45:28. > :45:35.said we'd hear from the winner, now we can cross back there. Yes indeed.

:45:36. > :45:40.Congratulations, you made it look easy. It might have looked easy but

:45:41. > :45:44.it wasn't! It was set up perfectly for a sprint finish at the end, was

:45:45. > :45:50.that the plan the whole time? Yes, to go for a sprint. It was really

:45:51. > :45:53.hard work to keep it all together, sometimes there were breakaways, but

:45:54. > :45:58.I think it would really good and the team was strong. And I was happy to

:45:59. > :46:03.make it up. Well, you made it look very easy, as I said earlier. This

:46:04. > :46:07.whole event, coming to London to do this, that must mean a lot to you?

:46:08. > :46:11.Yeah, it was a really good race, I looked forward to it for a few

:46:12. > :46:18.weeks. I thought it was my finish line. Amazing. Well, massive con

:46:19. > :46:23.regulations to you. Well done. Thank you. Brilliant. Kirsten Wild

:46:24. > :46:28.delighted to win the race, a powerful finish, wasn't it, and she

:46:29. > :46:34.looked in great form? Boyek I wish I could have seen her. Absolutely

:46:35. > :46:37.incredible rider. The Tour of Yorkshire as well, phenomenal form.

:46:38. > :46:41.Great to have been Sarah Storey with us. We saw you out there today,

:46:42. > :46:47.almost a training ride ahead of the Paralympics which is very much focus

:46:48. > :46:52.a successful Paralympic World Championships. Definitely, I'm in

:46:53. > :46:56.the middle of a huge training, but I don't have much speed and my legs.

:46:57. > :47:01.Good training ride, stayed out of trouble. Just in the altitude

:47:02. > :47:05.chamber at the moment. Heavy legs but good to get round. Just how

:47:06. > :47:09.important was it to get this into your legs, this event today, how did

:47:10. > :47:12.that fit in with the training block? I'm back on the track for the first

:47:13. > :47:16.time in about six months on Monday to start with some speed and high

:47:17. > :47:22.power. They are almost like standing starts. And I will build back into

:47:23. > :47:29.the track were quick. And that comes with Lake speed as well. Some speedy

:47:30. > :47:35.areas, especially the mile, here. Let's look at the closing stages of

:47:36. > :47:37.this race. A bit further down the road, couldn't quite see the

:47:38. > :47:44.village, but we can see this dreadful hairpin on the Strand. The

:47:45. > :47:48.riders or bunch up, a real dead turn and if you are to the bank you

:47:49. > :47:52.almost come to a standstill. Part of my computer rendered up spotting,

:47:53. > :47:56.but the speed at the front is being driven, and you really feel it at

:47:57. > :48:00.the back. How important is it to be on the right position on the

:48:01. > :48:03.hairpin? For the sprinters it was so important to be in a good position

:48:04. > :48:07.because they have to repeat that sprint. If they are in the wrong

:48:08. > :48:11.position they will have to spend twice, once to get into position and

:48:12. > :48:15.then for the finish. It was important to be in a good position,

:48:16. > :48:20.saving the lakes coming out of the hairpin, float under the wheels and

:48:21. > :48:24.safety legs for the final sprint. We don't see the big trains we

:48:25. > :48:29.sometimes see in the men's stage racing, much smaller teams here as

:48:30. > :48:33.well. Smaller teams and the riders need to cover all the moves and do

:48:34. > :48:37.the work early on. So most of the sprinters in women's cycling, they

:48:38. > :48:41.like a lead out but they know sometimes they will be isolated and

:48:42. > :48:46.sometimes it's just the best of the best to fight it out head-to-head.

:48:47. > :48:49.You can tell how fast they are going, difficult to keep on the

:48:50. > :48:53.wheels. Definitely and that has an impact on the lead out train. One

:48:54. > :48:58.rider from each team almost on each other's wheel. Especially with the

:48:59. > :49:01.turns towards the finish, although it is a long finish straight, when

:49:02. > :49:05.you come to the bit before there are some terms so you do not see the

:49:06. > :49:13.leader of trains, everybody is fighting for position. Probably

:49:14. > :49:19.fighting for the wheel of Kirsten Wild. Difficult wheel to grab hold

:49:20. > :49:22.of, she is so powerful. We are very fortunate it is a dry track and of

:49:23. > :49:30.course we do not have the cobbles like a champ to lycee in Paris. We

:49:31. > :49:40.are very fortunate that anyone rider came down, there. There we are, that

:49:41. > :49:45.was the finish of the Classique, the new UCI World Tour event, here.

:49:46. > :49:49.100,000 euros prize pot, significant prize pot. And I think it was

:49:50. > :49:55.appreciated by the riders that it has been given this added status.

:49:56. > :49:58.Without a doubt, everybody was delighted to hear of pedal parity as

:49:59. > :50:03.it has been referred to an social media. Which of about 44 kilometres

:50:04. > :50:07.per hour today, that was the average speed. You could see everybody was

:50:08. > :50:12.coming to get some of that prize money. Great job by the organisers.

:50:13. > :50:16.Of course the Tour of Yorkshire also recognising that, Great Britain very

:50:17. > :50:21.much leading the way in terms of parity for women racers. They

:50:22. > :50:23.certainly are and also in the organisation and professionalism and

:50:24. > :50:28.the support they give to women's cycling. We have seen it from the

:50:29. > :50:31.British organisers of women's cycling races, it has been

:50:32. > :50:38.phenomenal. They are leading the way. The prize money was so big. It

:50:39. > :50:47.was full on from the start. Riders attacking everywhere. Good to see.

:50:48. > :50:50.Now we will take a look at some of the thousands of cyclists who have

:50:51. > :50:56.been on the roads and streets of London over the course of today. It

:50:57. > :51:00.was amazing, wasn't it? You were out this morning taking part. They

:51:01. > :51:03.closed the centre of London and it was a wonderful opportunity to see

:51:04. > :51:07.the sights of London on your bike with the safety of knowing there was

:51:08. > :51:11.no traffic. Absolutely. To see London from that perspective with so

:51:12. > :51:16.many cyclists cruising the main streets of London, the views we saw,

:51:17. > :51:20.it was a wonderful experience. Lots of happy, smiling faces. Lots of

:51:21. > :51:25.children out there today which was great to see. All sorts of types of

:51:26. > :51:29.cycling represented here in this wonderful festival of cycling,

:51:30. > :51:33.all-round Green Park, all sorts of things going on, a lovely family day

:51:34. > :51:38.out. And beautiful weather, which makes a huge difference. The

:51:39. > :51:41.children were absolutely loving it. They are all having big smiles and

:51:42. > :51:45.owning the roads out there and just loving the opportunity to be riding

:51:46. > :51:48.around London and closed roads with family and friends and to summon the

:51:49. > :51:52.smiles and a great atmosphere out there. Yeah, people have come all

:51:53. > :51:56.over the country to enjoy London this weekend. This three-day

:51:57. > :52:03.festival of cycling, musical entertainment to get them on their

:52:04. > :52:07.way. I saw somebody cycling down The Mall with a great beatbox on his

:52:08. > :52:11.bike just entertaining the crowd, extraordinary scenes. Absolutely,

:52:12. > :52:14.and so may different bikes. You see a Penny Farthing, you see so many

:52:15. > :52:18.interesting bikes out there. I think that's the beauty about the free

:52:19. > :52:24.cycle. Just behind us now we can see a lot of the Brompton bikes warming

:52:25. > :52:27.up because we will have the Brompton World Championship, the 11th

:52:28. > :52:31.anniversary of this wonderful race. All of the riders are just warming

:52:32. > :52:36.up before taking part in this race. I should tell you, if you take part

:52:37. > :52:39.in the Brompton World Championship you are not allowed to wear any

:52:40. > :52:44.lycra, that's one of the most important rules. Certainly some

:52:45. > :52:47.interesting costumes and outfits out there. You see all the decorations

:52:48. > :52:51.on the bikes and helmets and it's a fantastic event to come and watch.

:52:52. > :52:57.Vary much looking forward to seeing how David Miller has improved his

:52:58. > :53:01.technique after last year. It took him about five minutes to get his

:53:02. > :53:04.bike put together. It's a bit like Le Mans, the bikers have to run

:53:05. > :53:09.across the road, assemble their bikes, and then head off. Not just a

:53:10. > :53:13.case of peddling. There's a lot more to it. And the challenges of racing

:53:14. > :53:16.in these types of outfits. If they are used to riding in microbe that

:53:17. > :53:21.is a challenge in itself, especially with this weather. As they get ready

:53:22. > :53:34.to race we can see the podium presentations from the Classique.

:53:35. > :53:38.COMMENTATOR: And the applause rings out for Kirsten Wild from the

:53:39. > :53:45.Netherlands. The riders just getting the sash over her shoulder. Leah

:53:46. > :53:51.Kirchmann, the Canadian, who finished fifth in the women's Tour

:53:52. > :53:57.earlier this summer. 12th last weekend in Paris. And now third in

:53:58. > :54:01.London. It's been a pretty solid season against the Leah Kirchmann.

:54:02. > :54:05.Eighth overall in the women's Giroud Italia as well recently.

:54:06. > :54:18.Second on the day in this sprint to the line on The Mall, Nina Kessler.

:54:19. > :54:22.The Dutch rider. Won estate in a race at little earlier this month,

:54:23. > :54:34.so clearly coming into London in good form, and continuing with that.

:54:35. > :54:37.-- won a stage race. Kessler probably not the name we were

:54:38. > :54:45.inspecting to see in the top three. In the end no surprise with the

:54:46. > :54:50.winner. The favourite going into the race, a very impressive sprinter.

:54:51. > :54:56.And we look forward to seeing Kirsten Wild in Rio in the next week

:54:57. > :55:02.or so in the women's on the up against Laura Trott at owl. And

:55:03. > :55:06.Kirsten Wild was unstoppable on The Mall, as soon as she hit the front

:55:07. > :55:10.you just knew she was going to carry all the way over the line in first

:55:11. > :55:18.place. And the celebrations start now. Kirsten Wild, winner of the

:55:19. > :55:22.ride London Classique. STUDIO: Wonderful to see her. Wonder if she

:55:23. > :55:26.will repeat that in the Omni in the Olympics. Not if Laura Trott has

:55:27. > :55:31.anything to say about it. Back at London tomorrow for the London

:55:32. > :55:35.Marathon on two wheels, thousands of cyclists out enjoying a right

:55:36. > :55:40.through the Surrey countryside ending right here on The Mall. All

:55:41. > :55:44.the stories from 10am on BBC Two. Then our attention switches to the

:55:45. > :55:46.elite men's race, a stellar line-up with the biggest name in British

:55:47. > :55:55.cycling the star of the show. With one of the most beautiful wins

:55:56. > :56:01.in his career, head over the bars, leans her every second of advantage,

:56:02. > :56:06.Chris Froome punches the air. Well, this Tour de France is turning into

:56:07. > :56:12.a mighty battle already. Banging on the board for Chris Froome. Ooh,

:56:13. > :56:17.Chris Froome is off his bike! He is running. This is an unprecedented

:56:18. > :56:21.situation. He could be losing serious time. I have never, ever

:56:22. > :56:26.seen anything like this in my life. Chris Froome attacks. Nairo Quintana

:56:27. > :56:31.is again losing time on Chris Froome. He already has one stage

:56:32. > :56:36.win, now he has two. And Chris Froome wins the time trial. Chris

:56:37. > :56:45.Froome becomes the first Briton to return the Tour de France title.

:56:46. > :56:48.Froome wins his third Tour, sky win it for a fourth time, and what a

:56:49. > :56:53.Tour de France this has been for Great Britain. The yellow jersey

:56:54. > :56:57.among a host of top names lining up for the ride London Surrey classic.

:56:58. > :57:02.You can follow the race online and on the red button from 1pm. We'll

:57:03. > :57:08.have the last three hours of the race live from 3:30pm here on BBC

:57:09. > :57:11.One. You will be alongside me for that race but not in the morning

:57:12. > :57:15.because of course you be on your bike in the 100, looking forward to

:57:16. > :57:19.that? Absolutely, really looking forward to the challenge of trying

:57:20. > :57:23.to beat the time I did with a group of guys last year, trying to beat

:57:24. > :57:28.that time this year. What about that Surrey classic? Great to see the

:57:29. > :57:33.yellow jersey in the line-up. Absolutely, a very strong field.

:57:34. > :57:36.Looking forward to seeing how things play out tomorrow, team tactics and

:57:37. > :57:40.just analysing what might happen when they get to box Hill and how

:57:41. > :57:44.the race will pan out. Sprint finish like we saw today? Being a former

:57:45. > :57:49.sprinter I would love to see a sprint. Watching the women's

:57:50. > :57:52.classic, absolutely fantastic. Good luck tomorrow and thanks to

:57:53. > :58:05.everybody. Celia tomorrow morning at 10am, goodbye for now.

:58:06. > :58:15.# You know you've got to turn up # To keep them begging for more

:58:16. > :58:28.# More more more #.

:58:29. > :58:29.You're coming across as, frankly, ridiculous.

:58:30. > :58:34.You're coming across as, frankly, ridiculous.

:58:35. > :58:37.I'm flabbergasted by that. Will they get burnt...

:58:38. > :58:41.You have done an appalling job of selling them online. Erm...
