:00:18. > :00:33.The Davis Cup, the ultimate prize in men's team tennis. To win it, they

:00:34. > :00:44.must display unity, team spirit. No individual can win it alone but an

:00:45. > :00:46.outstanding individual can underpin his team's journey. Playing that

:00:47. > :00:54.role has been Andy Murray. Andy Murray has put them in the driving

:00:55. > :01:02.seat. Seven victories out of seven in singles, three wins out of three

:01:03. > :01:05.in doubles. He has been part of ten of the 11 points Great Britain has

:01:06. > :01:09.one so far. In 2012 he became Britain's first Olympic gold

:01:10. > :01:24.medallist in tennis since 1908. He became Britain's first Grand Slam

:01:25. > :01:27.champion since Fred Perry. Now, in 2015, can the history man write

:01:28. > :01:39.another chapter and secure the World Cup of tennis for himself, his

:01:40. > :01:43.country and his team? It has been his goal all year to win the Davis

:01:44. > :01:50.Cup. This is what both teams are playing for. Last one by Great

:01:51. > :01:56.Britain in 1936 and never by Belgium. One of the iconic

:01:57. > :01:58.trophies. The excitement is building and the countdown is on for the

:01:59. > :02:20.final day of competition. What a cheer from the fans. They

:02:21. > :02:24.know how important this is. One more victory from Andy Murray would see

:02:25. > :02:41.Great Britain as Davis Cup champions. We are all set for what

:02:42. > :02:45.could be a memorable day for British tennis. Belgium also have a chance

:02:46. > :02:50.to win the cup. They need to win both singles matches. The British

:02:51. > :02:57.team know what they need to do. We are ready. Belgium, as you can see,

:02:58. > :03:06.are trailing by one point. They need to win both matches. If Andy Murray

:03:07. > :03:12.can beat David Goffin then Britain will be champions. How good does

:03:13. > :03:17.that sound? It has been such a journey. It has been an amazing

:03:18. > :03:24.occasion. To come from where we've come from. Only a few years back we

:03:25. > :03:30.were not in good shape. We could win this Davis Cup and what a great

:03:31. > :03:37.boost for British tennis. Andy Murray, we spoke about that, winning

:03:38. > :03:41.ten of the 11 matches. It is an exceptional performance in a busy

:03:42. > :03:45.tennis year. It is. He has made room for it. Who knows how many more

:03:46. > :03:50.years he will make room for it. There is no way he can make a

:03:51. > :03:58.tournament after the Davis Cup and give his best. He has made the

:03:59. > :04:02.sacrifice. Worth making a point, David Goffin has also not lost a

:04:03. > :04:07.singles either. This is not a foregone conclusion. We are not

:04:08. > :04:19.taking it for granted but we are so close to a massive triumph. He

:04:20. > :04:26.certainly has got world-class opposition against him, David Goffin

:04:27. > :04:34.has never taken a set of Andy Murray. Could be a tense finish to

:04:35. > :04:40.the afternoon. What an afternoon it was with the Murray brothers. They

:04:41. > :04:48.were a breakdown in the third set. It was not easy. It was not easy at

:04:49. > :04:54.all. On clay court, that is not Jamie Murray's best surface by any

:04:55. > :04:56.means. There were times when he wobbled. Andy Murray, I don't think

:04:57. > :05:02.he missed the return in the last three sets. It was a great effort.

:05:03. > :05:12.Andy Murray warming up. Let's get a Andy Murray warming up. Let's get a

:05:13. > :05:15.feel for what it is like. The atmosphere is nothing like I've

:05:16. > :05:21.heard that a tennis match before. The fans have been singing all

:05:22. > :05:35.weekend long. They have not stopped. I just want to say, everybody has

:05:36. > :05:42.played their part but despite all the pandemonium, Andy Murray has a

:05:43. > :05:50.job to do. This is what he's been so good at. Whilst we can all go crazy,

:05:51. > :05:56.he's got a job to do. He will be taking nothing for granted. They

:05:57. > :06:02.will do everything they can to get him through this, the crowd.

:06:03. > :06:08.The crowd do play their part and Andy Murray is a player who loves

:06:09. > :06:16.getting them involved. I don't think even minds it when the crowd are

:06:17. > :06:21.against him. It is an interesting matchup, David Goffin is a hell of a

:06:22. > :06:25.player. But you look at the matchup, and as long as Andy Murray is

:06:26. > :06:29.patient, which I think he will be, I cannot see where Goffin has the

:06:30. > :06:34.weapons to hurt Andy Murray whereas Andy Murray can hurt Goffin,

:06:35. > :06:38.especially with the serve. I think Andy Murray will get through. Andy

:06:39. > :06:44.Murray has been in some big matches but never in the Davis Cup final

:06:45. > :06:50.before. He was doing a lot of second serves, Andy Murray. I think he will

:06:51. > :06:54.attack Goffin's second serve. I think he will and I think Goffin

:06:55. > :07:01.will do the same with Andy Murray, but it is so tough. How do you break

:07:02. > :07:06.Andy Murray's defences? As long as Andy keeps his focus, which he will,

:07:07. > :07:07.I cannot see any way he will lose this match. We

:07:08. > :07:12.I cannot see any way he will lose this match. We are ready, it is time

:07:13. > :07:26.to find out if Andy Murray and Great Britain can create history. On

:07:27. > :07:27.behalf of the British Davis Cup team, we have turned up in large

:07:28. > :07:43.numbers. GB are in the Davis Cup final! A

:07:44. > :07:48.monumental effort. It has been an incredible journey. The last five

:07:49. > :07:53.years under Leon Smith. Here they are, one away from winning the Davis

:07:54. > :07:57.Cup. Everybody knows how important this match is for British tennis,

:07:58. > :08:00.nobody more so than Andy Murray. This has been his target all year.

:08:01. > :08:12.We are ready. This is an enormous atmosphere in

:08:13. > :08:23.here. 15,000 people. Plenty of Brits. Tickets were not easy to get.

:08:24. > :09:35.Everybody is here has had phenomenal entertainment.

:09:36. > :09:58.Captain Leon Smith has handled his team well. James Ward was heroic

:09:59. > :11:26.against the United States earlier. He may play later if required.

:11:27. > :11:30.Nobody who follows the game would think for a moment that this takes

:11:31. > :11:35.anything other than absolute concentration and composer. The only

:11:36. > :11:39.man who can talk to Andy Murray directly is Leon Smith, his captain

:11:40. > :11:44.at the site. These are testing moments.

:11:45. > :12:05.The opening stages of a vital Davis Cup match. Testing.

:12:06. > :12:40.There is the response. That is what marks him out as a competitor.

:12:41. > :12:50.It is between the number one players. It is the World Cup of

:12:51. > :12:53.tennis. At the end of any player's career they will look back on the

:12:54. > :12:59.Grand Slam championships and the Davis Cup and perhaps the Olympics

:13:00. > :13:03.and they say, how did I do? Andy Murray would like a full set of

:13:04. > :13:10.those things. This year, a semifinalist at the French. He is

:13:11. > :13:16.yet to win it but he thinks he can. The Davis Cup would be an enormous

:13:17. > :13:35.feather in his cap. He has been in the scaly and open final in times --

:13:36. > :13:45.the Australian open. It is up to Goffin to get close, which he has

:13:46. > :13:55.not done in matches they have played before. Has not managed to get a

:13:56. > :16:15.set. No Hawk-Eye, the old-fashioned clay-court method of inspection.

:16:16. > :16:25.The support and the encouragement is there and he has an excellent

:16:26. > :16:29.captain on the side but what in his game, over five sets on clay, has he

:16:30. > :16:35.got against a man who has pummelled him in the last two times. It'll be

:16:36. > :16:44.interesting to see what tactics employs.

:16:45. > :17:01.That has fired up the captain. He had a decent Avis cup record

:17:02. > :17:51.himself. Beat a lot of top players. -- Davis Cup.

:17:52. > :17:57.Second serve absolutely got the treatment there. Goffin went over

:17:58. > :18:06.pushing off but such was the pace of this return he did have to spin his

:18:07. > :18:10.wheels. Nothing happened for him. It is a break point. If you are tuning

:18:11. > :18:15.in for Formula One, that is on BBC Two. Flip over if that is your

:18:16. > :18:19.thing. Otherwise, Davis Cup final action on

:18:20. > :19:29.BBC One. Got -- ten two needed to make some

:19:30. > :19:34.big chances to get ahead in the point. Does not get any free points

:19:35. > :19:40.on his serve. Andy Murray is returning that no problem. He gets

:19:41. > :19:50.cheap points every game. It is a big difference. It takes its toll over

:19:51. > :19:50.five sets. Interesting timing between points. They definitely went

:19:51. > :20:28.over the time. He has experienced this atmosphere

:20:29. > :20:50.on a number of occasions, Henri Leconte.

:20:51. > :21:07.The Belgian number one, a good game from break point. He knows that

:21:08. > :21:11.Murray is stepping in on the second serve and he adjusted. Risky tactic.

:21:12. > :21:15.He might need to keep going for that serve and he adjusted. Risky tactic.

:21:16. > :21:18.kind of thing because otherwise Andy Murray will go ahead in the rally

:21:19. > :21:23.and put him under pressure for the first strike. Tactics come into

:21:24. > :23:01.play. Things could change so much during a match.

:23:02. > :23:13.So good there from Murray, deeper and deeper, playing out wide, then

:23:14. > :23:20.he opens up, gets in on the back foot and a drop shot comes in. Great

:23:21. > :23:21.tactics. It is awaited tie your opponent, and your opponent, where

:23:22. > :23:44.him down. This is the big advantage of this

:23:45. > :24:04.matchup, Andy Murray can do that on his serve. Almost unreturnable.

:24:05. > :24:15.Seven minutes, it took Goffin to win his opening service game. That

:24:16. > :24:30.serves to win the momentum. Just having a little look around the

:24:31. > :24:36.crowd. I have got Jeremy Bates to the left of me broadcasting, I have

:24:37. > :24:48.John Lloyd to the right. Jokers to the left of me! I was thinking about

:24:49. > :24:57.Jeremy Bates picking Andy Murray for the doubles in 2005. He played

:24:58. > :25:03.unbelievably well. Not a bad man to pick as your number one. Look, Andy

:25:04. > :25:08.Murray says this in the press. He says it is not that easy to win this

:25:09. > :25:14.match because you guys, talking about us, expect him to win every

:25:15. > :25:21.time. Yes, we do. That is because you are so good. It is not easy to

:25:22. > :25:26.win three matches in a Davis Cup tie and Murray, I think he will win this

:25:27. > :25:33.match, it is exhausting, mentally and physically. It is draining. He

:25:34. > :25:39.has been brilliant at it. No question about it. Certainly could

:25:40. > :25:49.not afford to lose on the first aid. He did not. -- on the first day.

:25:50. > :27:37.Goffin is not some junior who just rocked up. Number 16 in the world.

:27:38. > :28:48.He has not lost a Davis Cup match, Murray is after that serve and

:28:49. > :29:04.He has not lost a Davis Cup match, is funny, this game. He knew he

:29:05. > :30:20.His captain there. Even though he harder than he was in the first

:30:21. > :30:25.His captain there. Even though he missed this, it is a goodness. That

:30:26. > :30:28.is what he wants to do on Andy Murray's second serve. Throws a

:30:29. > :32:23.message to Andy Murray. Here is a moment, and David Goffin,

:32:24. > :32:30.Belgian number one, taking the ball on, Murray a little passive. And the

:32:31. > :32:35.new president of the International Tennis Federation there. A big part

:32:36. > :32:43.of the slams, and so many other things. Alongside Belgian royalty, I

:32:44. > :32:47.think, and I misidentified Jamie Murray's wife, others yesterday, for

:32:48. > :33:18.which I apologise. They have to do something, about

:33:19. > :33:19.that, chuck them out? But you have to find them first. And it gets

:33:20. > :33:32.under their skin. High was that second serve? Mark

:33:33. > :33:41.that as a moment of importance in this second set. The physical

:33:42. > :34:14.trainer on the right, the physio on the left.

:34:15. > :34:26.See Murray's reaction there. That is two horrible points for Goffin. A

:34:27. > :34:31.second serve return mess, break point up, then our failure to get

:34:32. > :34:40.the footwork right to our short ball.

:34:41. > :34:58.The pride of Yorkshire, Kyle Edmund, looking on.

:34:59. > :35:06.Murray did well there, actually played two sloppy points, which is

:35:07. > :35:12.unusual for him, he tried at the drop shot from a pure position on

:35:13. > :35:18.the court, then a backhand missed to go down break point, did well to get

:35:19. > :35:29.out of that, then a couple of sloppy points, then got right back on top

:35:30. > :35:38.again. Great support, all the way through for Great Britain. Great

:35:39. > :35:44.Britain fleeing the United States, 3-2 over the United States. France

:35:45. > :35:52.beating Germany, then Andy Murray wrapping that up with a great

:35:53. > :35:58.victory, one week after taking that the drubbing from Federer. And the

:35:59. > :36:08.doubles were excellent for Jamie Murray. Semifinals against

:36:09. > :36:12.Australia, and a massive win earlier on this year for James Ward as well

:36:13. > :36:20.against John Isner in that United States tie. But the three Grand Slam

:36:21. > :36:25.nations have been defeated by the fourth, Great Britain, to make this

:36:26. > :36:30.final. Just having a word about how they are going to handle this crowd

:36:31. > :36:39.noise, it is always the single voice, rather than the many.

:36:40. > :37:56.MAN SHOUTS BOOING

:37:57. > :38:09.The moralising point for the Belgian. -- demoralising. Comes in,

:38:10. > :38:47.then gets passed after a tremendous defensive display from Murray there.

:38:48. > :38:57.And that is away! Three break points. Every time Goffin Mrs the

:38:58. > :39:02.first served, big danger for him, Murray taking it early, putting him

:39:03. > :39:37.under such pressure with the early return.

:39:38. > :39:55.We saw our few of these yesterday from that side in the doubles, and

:39:56. > :39:59.look, inside the baseline, and Murray one of those players, once he

:40:00. > :40:05.starts saying he will not stop any time soon, almost as if the break

:40:06. > :40:10.point he faced in his own service game galvanised his effort and he

:40:11. > :40:48.needed to shift it up a gear, and he certainly did. 4-2, with a break.

:40:49. > :40:57.The tennis season coming to a close at the same time the F1 season, if

:40:58. > :41:07.you are into Formula 1, it is on BBC Two at the moment. Lewis Hamilton,

:41:08. > :41:09.etc, on BBC Two, we are staying on BBC One for the conclusion of this

:41:10. > :43:16.Davis Cup final. Ten of the last 11 points, since

:43:17. > :43:22.being break point down, that heavy second serve at 2-1. Murray looking

:43:23. > :43:59.to take this match by the scruff of the neck.

:44:00. > :44:10.Well, that really just sends out a message. This is what happens when

:44:11. > :44:15.you get your best out at me, I give better. Goffin not expecting that,

:44:16. > :44:26.did not set out on time. No thoughts the ball would come at him like

:44:27. > :44:32.that. That sum that up well. And Goffin, on his serve, only at 41% on

:44:33. > :44:38.his first serves, in that situation now where, what does he do? He wants

:44:39. > :44:44.to get ahead in the rally by hitting big serves, but if he misses it, his

:44:45. > :44:49.second serve so vulnerable to Murray, does he get a high

:44:50. > :44:54.percentage of first serves? That does not work either, he just has to

:44:55. > :45:03.get more first serves in. The defending champions, Belgium, Pete

:45:04. > :45:13.Switzerland. Switzerland without Wawrinka. Goffin winning his

:45:14. > :45:19.matches. And he had his victims in the semifinals. Against the

:45:20. > :45:26.Argentine team. Goffin not beaten in singles this year but he beat Kyle

:45:27. > :45:33.Edmund on the first day from two sets down, but I am not sure he can

:45:34. > :45:39.break Murray down to date, we will see. He is not a big headed lad, but

:45:40. > :45:48.these things are enormous! The crowd has been great nature, but spilling

:45:49. > :45:53.over earlier on in this set, with a few people trying to put Murray of

:45:54. > :46:00.particularly. But no harm done. News tennis balls, Goffin serving. --

:46:01. > :47:49.new. That one just catching the roof, 12

:47:50. > :47:57.metres up, the minimum required. Actually, this one is 11 metres and

:47:58. > :48:03.97 centimetres, but the Davis Cup committee allowed it. This agility,

:48:04. > :48:09.especially after the Paris attacks, certainly an issue in Brussels more

:48:10. > :48:11.than Ghent, but Ghent having its problems as well, but everything

:48:12. > :51:46.going smoothly so far. This is a great effort from the

:51:47. > :51:53.Belgian number one, three set points he has saved, had to scrabble and

:51:54. > :51:58.change direction and hang in. He was scampering all over the place. He

:51:59. > :52:05.wants to make Murray serve for this. You never know. He wants to stop the

:52:06. > :52:36.rot as well, three games in a row. That is a split step about one

:52:37. > :52:45.metre, meter and a half, from the baseline, then he has a choice to go

:52:46. > :52:51.across court, then down the line. Murray slaps it down the line.

:52:52. > :53:26.Another sapping service game for Goffin.

:53:27. > :53:38.She has been here for all three days. UMPIRE: Advantage Belgium.

:53:39. > :54:03.UMPIRE: Great Britain leads five games to three. The last ten or 15

:54:04. > :54:08.minutes might have looked unpredictable, all assuming Andy

:54:09. > :54:14.Murray would win the set, but now he has to get the job done. Never easy,

:54:15. > :54:43.Davis Cup final set number one, Murray serving for it.

:54:44. > :54:53.He had the opportunity to play a drop shot earlier in that rally,

:54:54. > :54:59.when he had money back, but chose the wrong time. He had a chance on

:55:00. > :55:07.the forehand, but elected to stay back, probably the fear factor,

:55:08. > :55:09.because of the last time. Not that comfortable at the net, Goffin, not

:55:10. > :55:38.the best part of his game. That is a bad error there. Very good

:55:39. > :55:43.return of serve, set himself up to do damage with the forehand. It is

:55:44. > :56:19.like he's sort of spun out of that shot, didn't stay with it.

:56:20. > :57:17.and this time, on his own serve, he puts Great Britain in the lead, one

:57:18. > :57:24.set to Murray against Goffin, asset closer to a Davis Cup victory. --

:57:25. > :57:30.one set closer. And the news is good, because Murray, when he has

:57:31. > :57:37.won the first set, he has won 61 matches and lost nine. They'd get a

:57:38. > :57:42.view from courtside. This is a Davis Cup final, about

:57:43. > :57:47.courage, hard, dealing with pressure. But two things, the

:57:48. > :57:54.weakness of the second serve from Goffin, his split stepping inside

:57:55. > :57:58.the baseline, and the second thing, perhaps most decisive, the weight of

:57:59. > :58:06.shot from Andy Murray is much heavier than David Goffin. And they

:58:07. > :58:11.does not need to luck to make -- Andy Murray does not need to look to

:58:12. > :58:14.make knockout punches. And as well as being physically stronger than

:58:15. > :58:21.his Belgian opponent, the belief is sapping out of him point by point,

:58:22. > :58:27.so I don't know what the Belgian can do. It is a big ask.

:58:28. > :58:33.You can ban hurt, the captain on the left-hand side, talking to David

:58:34. > :58:38.Goffin. -- Yohan van Herck. If you are number one and your top man

:58:39. > :58:43.wants to play doubles, you let him play for a while. I agree, the

:58:44. > :58:47.better of the two Belgians, and he got confidence, even though he lost

:58:48. > :58:54.that match, he played well, and got much better against Kyle Edmund. His

:58:55. > :58:59.captain will be seeing, listen, do what you are doing, be aggressive,

:59:00. > :59:07.Murray will start missing, throw that belief in your player, it will

:59:08. > :59:11.change. But looking at it, at the moment, there is no way for him to

:59:12. > :59:15.hurt Andy Murray in this game, but things can change, it is by this

:59:16. > :59:25.game is so fascinating. We all know that. A couple of minutes between

:59:26. > :59:33.sets, for a Davis Cup final, in a place like this, make that three,

:59:34. > :59:41.three and a half, quite narrow walkways, please. People just popped

:59:42. > :59:47.out and trying to get back in in the allotted two or three minutes. One

:59:48. > :59:52.thing Goffin has to do is up that first set percentage, at 44% giving

:59:53. > :00:00.Murray too many second serves to have a go at. If he doesn't go for

:00:01. > :00:07.the second serve... I know that, but it needs to be up to 60% at least.

:00:08. > :00:12.People up behind the right-hand shoulder of Goffin, in the eye line

:00:13. > :00:14.of Andy Murray, just sitting down on the stairs, doing their best to get

:00:15. > :00:48.out of the way. The Exactly what Jamie Baker was

:00:49. > :00:50.talking about. Taking the ball on, moving in. He's got so many choices

:00:51. > :01:04.after that. The court has been swept, which is

:01:05. > :01:32.what happens on a clay-court between sets.

:01:33. > :01:39.Goffin needs to start going to the Murray forehand a little bit, open

:01:40. > :01:46.up the court. First serve is not there at the

:01:47. > :02:12.moment. Murray just pushing off and trying

:02:13. > :03:06.to change direction. That is risky but the one he needs

:03:07. > :03:45.to hit. Murray was outside an extension of

:03:46. > :03:58.the far tramline. He reads like a book.

:03:59. > :04:24.Grandparents Shirley and Roy Erskine. Getting some camera time

:04:25. > :04:26.and enjoying every minute. Why wouldn't you enjoy watching a family

:04:27. > :05:16.member, both of them in this team? That is a good hold. He was under

:05:17. > :05:24.the cosh. I did not stay up to watch Tyson Fury last night but that was a

:05:25. > :05:34.tremendous effort. Lewis Hamilton, underway. Who is going to win sports

:05:35. > :05:40.personality of the year if Andy Murray carries his team to the first

:05:41. > :05:46.Davis Cup triumph? Plenty of others in the mix as well but this has

:05:47. > :06:12.certainly been a fabulous effort. Great weekend for British sport.

:06:13. > :06:52.You can just see the mark. Is there a gap?

:06:53. > :07:52.The secret to a good drop shot is the spin you put on and the height.

:07:53. > :08:01.It is just a little bit predictable, these a slain rallies. He's not

:08:02. > :10:15.getting Andy Murray out of position. these a slain rallies. He's not

:10:16. > :10:25.getting Andy Murray out these a slain rallies. He's not

:10:26. > :11:03.That is ridiculous. the

:11:04. > :11:10.Andy Murray has had to put up with several people between first and

:11:11. > :11:13.second serves with air horns going off and all the rest of it, and he

:11:14. > :11:52.has taken three seconds to long? Goffin taking the ball. Hitting it

:11:53. > :12:03.flat down the line, taking risks, going for it. It is a test of

:12:04. > :13:26.concentration for Andy Murray. The it was from this end Andy Murray

:13:27. > :13:28.secured a key break. This game is important as Andy Murray tries to

:13:29. > :14:06.get stuck into this second set. That one is off to get re-strong.

:14:07. > :16:47.Very high-quality... Certainly started serving better

:16:48. > :17:18.since the beginning of this second set. Certainly hitting the corners.

:17:19. > :20:04.That is a pity, set up so well. " as set. Certainly

:20:05. > :20:18.That is a pity, set up so well. " as soon on that forehand. He is on the

:20:19. > :20:19.edge and he really feels he is about to get a potentially match-winning

:20:20. > :21:14.lead. He looks a bit on edge. If he loses

:21:15. > :21:15.this game I have a feeling he might be venting a little bit when he

:21:16. > :22:59.comes to his changeover. That is all the training, all the

:23:00. > :23:07.physical workouts you do throughout the year, this is why it is worth

:23:08. > :23:09.it. Miles back from the baseline. How you get to that and then still

:23:10. > :23:52.poke that ball down the line... Just a little bit passive in that

:23:53. > :23:57.rally, Moray. Pushed back pretty deep -- in that rally, Andy Murray.

:23:58. > :25:07.Not much on those forehands. Soul destroying when that comes back

:25:08. > :27:12.at you. That was a great game of tennis and

:27:13. > :27:18.Goffin, you just feel that he needs to win these at the moment to

:27:19. > :27:29.establish something. Under enormous pressure. He got himself through it.

:27:30. > :27:47.That was pretty funny, when he wanted his brother back on the

:27:48. > :28:05.bench. What Andy Murray wants is to look over and see his brother.

:28:06. > :28:25.Now he breaks the speed record! And he loves to look over and see what

:28:26. > :28:33.he wants to see. He is a bit nervous at the moment. It is all very well,

:28:34. > :28:35.but he knows better than any of us, he is trying to get the job done. It

:28:36. > :28:37.is a Davis Cup final. If he was not nervous he would not be human. He

:28:38. > :28:56.has not put this bloke away. Not by a long way.

:28:57. > :29:10.There is a lot of noise in here. You may not know that. I think having

:29:11. > :29:14.everybody sit down, that is something you need to change with

:29:15. > :29:24.the players. You don't have perfect conditions when you practice. People

:29:25. > :31:05.walk around. It is just a fact of the game. You've just got to play.

:31:06. > :31:18.Improvised well there. The double handed volley from just inside the

:31:19. > :31:26.baseline. I thought it might be going out, then elected to play it.

:31:27. > :31:31.Yeah, great old after that 2-1, the third game, lots of tension, lost

:31:32. > :31:36.when he perhaps should have won, then three big serves, takes charge

:31:37. > :31:41.of the next service game comfortably, putting the pressure

:31:42. > :31:43.back when your opponent. Yeah. Every time Goffin comes around mentally,

:31:44. > :32:16.he realises he is serving again. The premier team event in the world

:32:17. > :32:21.of tennis, Davis Cup 130 nations involved, 16 in the world group,

:32:22. > :32:23.each of the teams, Belgium and GB, won three matches to make this

:32:24. > :32:52.final. The Davis Cup was conceived by four

:32:53. > :33:00.members of the Harvard University tennis team, commissioned that cup

:33:01. > :33:02.you can see behind Andy Murray. $1000 it cost out of their own

:33:03. > :33:35.pockets. Imagine if you had a ticket next to

:33:36. > :34:53.him! UMPIRE: Belgium leads, three games

:34:54. > :34:58.to two. This format was designed by Dwight Davis, soon became known as

:34:59. > :35:01.the Davis Cup, it was the international lawn tennis challenge,

:35:02. > :35:07.comes at the end of the tennis year, the last major event, I don't count

:35:08. > :35:11.the Indian Premier League as a major event in terms of importance, but

:35:12. > :35:23.this is it for the players, just one month or so off, and difficult to

:35:24. > :35:26.get tickets for this. And in March, Great Britain against Japan in

:35:27. > :35:34.Birmingham, if you fancy coming along for that. That will be a

:35:35. > :35:38.tremendous match to see, Nishikori going up against Andy Murray,

:35:39. > :35:48.Nishikori a world-class player, great to watch. Some great second

:35:49. > :35:58.players as well. Mouthwatering last day, to see Murray and Nishikori,

:35:59. > :36:05.that would be spectacular. Andy Murray has committed to that

:36:06. > :36:06.tie against Japan, but his wife is expecting, the plans may have to be

:36:07. > :36:25.a little bit fluid. This clay court was laid three weeks

:36:26. > :36:28.ago, and the sand of off the back of a lorry, a picture was treated, let

:36:29. > :36:56.the preparations begin! One woman above all others was

:36:57. > :37:00.responsible for the staging, after what happened in Paris and in

:37:01. > :37:05.Brussels with the security alerts, Belgium still pursuing those alleged

:37:06. > :37:16.perpetrators through their own country, to put this on, Justin

:37:17. > :37:24.Albert, take about. -- just been -- Justine Albert. Once again, Murray,

:37:25. > :37:28.that advantage you has in this match of getting three points on the

:37:29. > :37:32.serve, it just makes such a difference when you go up there and

:37:33. > :37:39.there is a clay court match, tough physically, but once or twice a game

:37:40. > :37:40.you know you can get three points. Goffin really struggling in that

:37:41. > :38:16.department. Once again, I still think that

:38:17. > :38:21.Goffin is playing way too much to the Murray backhand, too much of

:38:22. > :38:28.these patterns crosscourt, Murray loves that. To his credit, trying to

:38:29. > :38:34.hit the ball flat. Yes, but needs to go more than the forehand, open up

:38:35. > :38:40.the court down the line, risky, but not getting many rallies when coming

:38:41. > :38:46.crosscourt to crosscourt. Very comfortable game there. Love that at

:38:47. > :38:50.this stage in the match. The same again, Goffin looks up and he is

:38:51. > :38:59.serving again. Something has to give! You can't go on like that. It

:39:00. > :39:11.establishes momentum when you hold a quick service game.

:39:12. > :39:18.Goffin knows what is coming up, this game, this will be a mighty effort

:39:19. > :39:19.from Andy Murray to put together, could be a match-winning

:39:20. > :39:27.breakthrough. No. Really, he is building up a head

:39:28. > :41:12.of steam, Murray. One of the toughest shot in the

:41:13. > :41:17.game, Murray just played there. He was actually forced a little back as

:41:18. > :41:20.well as across, so he had to adjust the racket head face, good talent,

:41:21. > :41:59.wasn't it? Big point here. Great to see Mum and dad here.

:42:00. > :42:03.Watching their youngest son having a bet of our moorland and wine at the

:42:04. > :42:15.moment, how about just about everything. -- having a moan and a

:42:16. > :42:18.whine. Complaining to the linesman. But we are they supposed to go? He

:42:19. > :42:58.was miles back! Superb from Goffin! Brilliant, from

:42:59. > :43:02.15-30 down, two excellent points. Comeback Player of the Year last

:43:03. > :43:08.year on the regular tour. This year a record-breaking number of

:43:09. > :43:10.matches, high ranking of 14, he is 16 now, the Davis Cup final, doing

:43:11. > :43:48.himself proud. UMPIRE: New balls, please. Belgium

:43:49. > :43:59.leads four games to three. Boss class hunching from the side of

:44:00. > :44:06.the court, Johan van Herck, and not many players to pick from, Belgium,

:44:07. > :44:12.but actually got a lot more players in the top 250 than we have. Of

:44:13. > :44:23.course, the talisman for British tennis, Andy Murray, they've got

:44:24. > :44:27.seven in the top 250, two four from us. Great credit to Captain Leon

:44:28. > :44:32.Smith, who was working with Andy Murray, from the age of 11, when

:44:33. > :44:43.Andy Murray was making his way into the game. Back in July 2010, he got

:44:44. > :44:50.the win, 5-0 over 30. He worked his way up. The match against Belgium,

:44:51. > :44:58.by the way, was David Goffin's first for Belgium. 2-0 down against Russia

:44:59. > :45:05.after the singles. Then back up through victory for Andy Murray and

:45:06. > :45:08.against Croatia. One away last year in the first round against the

:45:09. > :45:12.United States, James Ward winning that. James Ward winning again this

:45:13. > :45:41.year against John Isner. UMPIRE: Thank you. That was

:45:42. > :45:47.unbelievable. The crowd is how important this second set is to put

:45:48. > :45:53.players. That might be worth a look. The umpire of office chair.

:45:54. > :46:01.Goffin, excellent work. Just said, save yourself. Outside edge.

:46:02. > :46:53.UMPIRE: Thank you. After all that noise, 45 seconds

:46:54. > :47:03.ago, spine tingling stuff in here. Murray two first service, one of

:47:04. > :47:13.them an ace. He is up to 70%. What you've got to do, brilliant. Goffin

:47:14. > :47:18.having to work so hard, then Murray at 40-0, three points. He's not

:47:19. > :47:29.having to work anywhere near as hard on his serve. Wonderful! An absolute

:47:30. > :47:34.lesson in composure. When you are getting kids ready as a coach, so

:47:35. > :47:40.many keen and enthusiastic good ones in the country, just look at the

:47:41. > :47:45.basics, it's always the basics! To get the job done at the very highest

:47:46. > :47:51.level. Four first serves there. Yeah, what Leon Smith was talking

:47:52. > :48:00.about. I want you to serve three aces! Whatever he said, it worked.

:48:01. > :48:02.Note the pressure is back on Goffin, temporarily against the Brit, but

:48:03. > :48:20.note this is another huge game. Good point. You have to wonder,

:48:21. > :48:27.Goffin, Murray with the British hopes, but Goffin has done this in

:48:28. > :48:31.this tie, the emotional side of his match, then playing doubles and

:48:32. > :48:34.lost, at some stage he will be tired. Then it can set in quicker

:48:35. > :49:54.than normal when you go down 2-0. That is a very, very late call. And

:49:55. > :49:55.Goffin, of course, at setting -- accepting Andy Murray calling it

:49:56. > :51:09.out. UMPIRE: Belgium leads five games to

:51:10. > :51:28.four. Great effort from David Goffin,

:51:29. > :51:34.credit where it is due, to have held five times to get to 5-4 up in the

:51:35. > :51:43.second set, great effort, Murray frustrated, job to do now for Leon

:51:44. > :51:55.Smith. David Goffin has never taken a set of of Murray. No. -- off

:51:56. > :52:03.Murray. Tremendous set of tennis, both players' percentage gone up,

:52:04. > :52:09.board taking advantage, particularly Goffin, trying to get Murray on the

:52:10. > :52:15.back foot more than in the first set. Some has paid off, some

:52:16. > :52:16.hasn't, but taking chances and got that game ahead, magnificent job

:52:17. > :52:38.holding onto his serve. Doubles coach saw the Murray s' win

:52:39. > :52:48.yesterday, but this is hard to serve after.

:52:49. > :53:27.That was so good. He had no choice, Murray, had to go for the big

:53:28. > :53:34.forehand, he was dying here if you had not made that, he just belted

:53:35. > :53:36.that one. Not any chance for Goffin to direct that down the line, superb

:53:37. > :56:17.shot. Big, big point this was. This crowd is just spectacular. The

:56:18. > :56:45.noise is just every point, it's unbelievable!

:56:46. > :58:13.One hour to get to 5-5, this second set, absolutely all on the line for

:58:14. > :58:19.Goffin. If he doesn't win this set, he has to be a corner! He has to

:58:20. > :58:27.know that. I don't know the physicality, how he can last, almost

:58:28. > :58:37.two hours and not finished two sets yet, unbelievable, every point is an

:58:38. > :58:48.insurance factor. -- in June and is -- endurance. That went a bit close

:58:49. > :58:50.to the line. That first serve wasn't there in the first set, made a big

:58:51. > :59:33.difference to his percentage. Oh! Will he regret that. That could

:59:34. > :59:40.be the turning point. That was so casual. And the right technique,

:59:41. > :59:44.trying to cut the margin is so tight, because he knows hike wake

:59:45. > :59:53.Andy Murray is. He had about five options there. -- he knows how quick

:59:54. > :00:00.Andy Murray is. That could be the turning point, he needs a big serve

:00:01. > :00:32.to read in his composure a little. -- reading his composure.

:00:33. > :00:42.You have to admire the way he's taking the ball on this set. He is

:00:43. > :00:43.taking a lot of Andy Murray's top-spin shots and getting right on

:00:44. > :01:41.the rise. Murray needs to know that he might

:01:42. > :01:56.slow it down. I cannot see him slowing it down.

:01:57. > :02:17.That was a good second serve. Just did not give him the chance to

:02:18. > :02:23.pervert and get away from the ball. Anxious return. Trying to get the

:02:24. > :03:01.job done. Trying to get over the line.

:03:02. > :05:03.It is a heavy hit from Murray, and he's got himself a break point.

:05:04. > :05:17.You look at that point for 30-0. He won the next point. Would have been

:05:18. > :05:31.40-0. Absolutely right. That was a massive mistake. Amazing, the simple

:05:32. > :05:36.margins. This could be the match. Those small things. I would maintain

:05:37. > :05:41.that Andy Murray's court speed was one of the reasons he tried to cut

:05:42. > :05:48.those margins. The iMac that is what the top players do to your

:05:49. > :05:57.opponents. You get out of your car -- comfort zone. He needed to hit

:05:58. > :06:06.that's so fine. A word on the effort of Andy Murray. There was no way he

:06:07. > :06:25.was going anywhere in that rally. He is one of the elite group.

:06:26. > :07:52.Might be a moment to begin this game.

:07:53. > :08:11.That's a surprising shot there. He needs his first serve. He's been

:08:12. > :09:19.getting some three points. What a serve. It looked like that

:09:20. > :10:05.ball toss is a bit short. Three big serves in a row. That's

:10:06. > :11:15.what it's all about. Coming up with the right shot at the right time.

:11:16. > :11:52.Soaking it up a little bit at the the right

:11:53. > :12:00.Soaking it up a little bit at the end. That was a triumph of the

:12:01. > :12:09.termination, that set. Not easy. One more set to go. Jamie Baker is

:12:10. > :12:15.courtside. What is it like just now? It is ridiculous, such a high-level

:12:16. > :12:19.match, both guys playing phenomenally well. Goffin has barely

:12:20. > :12:27.missed a shot and he finds himself 2-0 down. I'm sorry to say that

:12:28. > :12:32.we've lost Jamie Murray courtside and Jamie Baker but he's just

:12:33. > :12:35.talking about the atmosphere and the standard and I'm talking about the

:12:36. > :12:40.history that Andy Murray and his Great Britain team have two be made.

:12:41. > :12:49.They are not the first brothers from Great Britain to be in a Davis Cup

:12:50. > :12:58.final. I am sitting with one of the brothers, David Lloyd and John Lloyd

:12:59. > :13:02.together. Pretty special. Your father was your tennis inspiration,

:13:03. > :13:09.he must have been so proud. That was a good occasion but this is way

:13:10. > :13:19.above. We look like we are going to win this no. Let's pop downstairs.

:13:20. > :13:24.What is it like watching him deal with these situations so

:13:25. > :13:27.impressively? Difficult. He is playing so well, such a good

:13:28. > :13:32.occasion for him. He has made so much effort to get into the team at

:13:33. > :13:37.this point and he has been amazing, such an incredible level of tennis.

:13:38. > :13:41.I don't know how Goffin is going to come back. He has put so much into

:13:42. > :13:47.the set but has nothing to show for it. Hopefully Andy can keep up the

:13:48. > :13:53.level he is at and win one more set and win the tie. He wanted you back

:13:54. > :14:03.on the bench, was that superstition? I stood there for two points, I was

:14:04. > :14:13.getting... I don't know! I did not know he was indicating the, and all

:14:14. > :14:34.of a sudden, and the little -- Andy was taking me back. Did you have any

:14:35. > :14:44.scraps with your brother on court? You'll I had a few! Jamie took it

:14:45. > :16:43.well, though. If helps him get the victory...

:16:44. > :16:48.Big service game for Goffin, he needs to hold this game after the

:16:49. > :16:57.disappointment of losing that second set. Murray's job is to take hold of

:16:58. > :17:48.this match and take him out right away in this third set.

:17:49. > :19:03.What a pint! -- point. That was gutsy stroking the ball, refusing to

:19:04. > :19:59.let go. That really is tremendous effort

:20:00. > :20:09.from the Belgian. Saving break points in the fashion

:20:10. > :21:52.he did. Five set matches have ebbs and

:21:53. > :22:09.flows. Both players are bound to be riding high on the intensity of that

:22:10. > :22:18.second set. This man has reacted well. He has come out of here

:22:19. > :22:23.extremely aggressive. He is taking the ball on right away in these

:22:24. > :23:39.rallies. Any chance he gets, he is going for it.

:23:40. > :24:49.At first break for the Belgian number one! Could be a long way to

:24:50. > :25:14.go. You have to give them a lot of credit. Came back, played a fabulous

:25:15. > :25:29.game, then breaks into the first time. Even if he is tired, the crowd

:25:30. > :25:34.is not letting him be tired. Confirming that is just a first

:25:35. > :25:37.warning to the captain. That conversation has carried on whilst

:25:38. > :25:59.Goffin is serving. This is one of the shortest second

:26:00. > :27:19.serves he has hit. Has not been used today, the drop

:27:20. > :27:24.shot, March. Expected it a lot more from both players. It is risky, both

:27:25. > :27:54.players are quick. That is just outstanding. So far

:27:55. > :27:58.back was he when he hit that? Way back and way out of court. You would

:27:59. > :28:49.expect to win the point. The captain made difficult calls, he

:28:50. > :28:53.brought Dan Evans in instead of Kyle Edmonds, he has brought Andy Murray

:28:54. > :29:04.in and made him want to be a part of this team and commit like no other

:29:05. > :29:07.player. He said he was an average player so he thought he would take

:29:08. > :29:35.up coaching. He has done a great job. You're never going to stick at

:29:36. > :29:48.the back of the court against Andy Murray and get any real return.

:29:49. > :30:21.Andy and Jamie Murray played a really magnificent doubles.

:30:22. > :30:31.UMPIRE: Take your seat quickly, please. Two hours and 21 minutes of

:30:32. > :30:34.playing. Add a few minutes for the warm up and peripherals, a long day

:30:35. > :34:14.for everybody. It is a long way away from the

:34:15. > :34:21.umpire there. Don't step on the mark. He wants to point out the mark

:34:22. > :34:29.that he thinks it is. He thinks that Pascal Maria has identified the

:34:30. > :34:39.wrong mark. Let's have a look. It looks long on the long line. Think

:34:40. > :34:50.he had the trademark? -- right Mark? So what has he said?

:34:51. > :35:09.SOME BOOING well, whatever he decides, he is getting booed. It is

:35:10. > :35:29.a tough atmosphere to play and coach them. A tennis ball in the pocket

:35:30. > :35:44.there. I assume this is just a let. First serve.

:35:45. > :35:54.Well, that was as serve with work in it, pushed the ball through the

:35:55. > :35:58.court there, muscular delivery, three or four times on second

:35:59. > :36:05.serves, after disputes, that is when you want to win a point, after there

:36:06. > :36:29.is then a scrap -- there has been a scrap.

:36:30. > :36:47.Big hold. Big hold with the old tennis balls.

:36:48. > :36:53.UMPIRE: New bowls, please. -- balls. Low point for Andy Murray after

:36:54. > :37:09.responding in such dramatic fashion, but back on level terms. At two

:37:10. > :37:12.games all. Andy Murray is beginning to have that expression of

:37:13. > :37:18.exhaustion and effort that we saw when he played at Queen's just one

:37:19. > :37:29.week after Wimbledon when he had to dig as much as I can ever remember

:37:30. > :37:34.him ever having to dig. When he had to play Gilles Simon. 2.5 hours and

:37:35. > :39:27.only two sets in! Even for Andy there, the spring in

:39:28. > :39:28.the legs was just a lot of of, not getting the energy to get that one

:39:29. > :39:57.back. -- a little off. Set up by a very good serve. In the

:39:58. > :40:00.corner. Once again getting that ball, hitting it on the rise, really

:40:01. > :40:30.being aggressive. UMPIRE: Game Belgium. Belgium leads

:40:31. > :40:37.three games to two. CHEERING Great effort from David Goffin, not to go

:40:38. > :40:42.away here, looking lost when he won that second set, his father is a

:40:43. > :40:50.tennis coach, involved in physical education, great athlete showing his

:40:51. > :40:54.spirit. He trains in Mons with the Federation, came up the ranks,

:40:55. > :41:04.adding a bit of beef to his game and muscle to his body. This year he

:41:05. > :41:08.finishes at number 16, which is a career-high year end for him. This

:41:09. > :41:12.will surely be one of the greatest experiences of his life, taking his

:41:13. > :41:17.team to the Davis Cup final, unbeaten this year and still thinks

:41:18. > :41:22.he can win this match. Absolutely, putting in a tremendous effort, the

:41:23. > :41:29.quality of tennis has been superb, so close in that second set, but did

:41:30. > :41:33.not let that bother him, and thought maybe there could be a wobble but

:41:34. > :41:43.then played a superb game to hold his serve. Look at that poor promo

:41:44. > :41:50.girl, told to smile when ever she is on camera. Wonderful staging here,

:41:51. > :41:53.just a celebration of the sport, the tennis world will reconvene in

:41:54. > :42:04.Australia in January for the first Grand Slams, not far away! With the

:42:05. > :42:10.World Tour Finals staying in London until 2018, closing just last Sunday

:42:11. > :42:13.with another victory, fourth in a row for Novak Djokovic, what a

:42:14. > :42:35.wonderful month November has become for tennis, that's for sure.

:42:36. > :42:44.That was a point he didn't look like winning. Always defending there, but

:42:45. > :42:51.interesting change of pace with the slice backhand, don't see that very

:42:52. > :42:53.often from Goffin, it made Murray lose his rhythm on the backhand,

:42:54. > :44:30.created an error. CHEERING Tremendous racket head work

:44:31. > :44:36.they are from Goffin, looked like he was handcuffed, Murray tries to

:44:37. > :44:41.finish it, does not get the angle, but good reflex volley, maybe

:44:42. > :44:57.because of all the doubles practice you got yesterday. -- he got.

:44:58. > :45:08.That is so good, though. The reliable serve on big points when he

:45:09. > :45:13.is down, time and time again. First and second. Benefited from heavy

:45:14. > :45:19.work on the second serve as well. I do not have the statistics in front

:45:20. > :45:32.of me for 30-30 points, but he has won his fair share.

:45:33. > :46:27.Just so aggressive. Just taking chances. Power tennis. The first

:46:28. > :46:39.one, the depth, just right for that one across court, the angle superb.

:46:40. > :46:40.Well under 6-foot, no lightweight, 11.5 stone, his timing is

:46:41. > :47:08.unbelievable. He has gone there a lot on big

:47:09. > :47:13.serves, Murray, on the middle down the outside. His normal percentage

:47:14. > :47:17.is out wide to the backhand but this was obviously tactical. The backhand

:47:18. > :47:27.return from Goffin is way better, the liable. -- reliable. There it is

:47:28. > :47:45.again. UMPIRE: Advantage Great Britain. 200K on a clay court after

:47:46. > :47:46.2.40 hours, that is impressive. Up to 126-130 miles an hour

:47:47. > :48:04.consistently when he wants it. Game Great Britain.

:48:05. > :48:15.It has been a great year on clay for Andy Murray, seminal if --

:48:16. > :48:22.semifinalist at the French Open. He won his first two clay court titles

:48:23. > :48:34.in Munich and Madrid. He beat Nadal in front of his own adoring fans.

:48:35. > :48:36.World number two. None of which matters at all at this point. He

:48:37. > :49:31.just wants to beat Goffin. Great return. That second serve,

:49:32. > :49:38.Murray pushing himself forward, forcing his legs to move, get to

:49:39. > :50:10.that quickly. Getting that ball on the rise.

:50:11. > :51:11.UMPIRE: Game Great Britain. Andy Murray ahead, in the third set of

:51:12. > :51:19.this Davis Cup final. Two games from bringing the trophy to Great Britain

:51:20. > :51:24.for the first time. First time since before the Second World War, such as

:51:25. > :51:28.the sporting history he is trying to make. He has done this sort of

:51:29. > :51:36.things before, honestly, winning the US Open, Wimbledon, Olympic gold.

:51:37. > :51:41.And she deserves a huge amount of credit, and so does the man to her

:51:42. > :51:52.right. Honestly, two fabulous young men and such high performers, the

:51:53. > :51:57.Murrays, I don't know how you rank it in terms of team effort.

:51:58. > :52:00.Liverpool in the Champions League, the Ryder Cup teams for Europe over

:52:01. > :52:10.time, it is right up there to win the Davis Cup in our sport. Yeah, it

:52:11. > :52:18.is our team event. We would love to be champions of the world. And I

:52:19. > :52:25.think, of all the people over the years, all the volunteers, coaches,

:52:26. > :52:32.people back in GB, wanting to say hello to Martyn Hall the, my

:52:33. > :52:37.organiser, -- Margaret, she is getting well in hospital. So many

:52:38. > :52:42.lovely clubs up and down the place. They deserve credit. Because the

:52:43. > :53:36.boss here is closing in. In the last two games, it looked

:53:37. > :53:42.like Goffin got to get late, then pushing it out wide, not on top of

:53:43. > :53:46.the ball. That one, totally in the right position, got on top of that

:53:47. > :55:04.one, crushed it away. He's not done yet!

:55:05. > :55:13.Just a little late there, Murray. Understandably so.

:55:14. > :55:35.UMPIRE: Merci. Goes to that forehand, almost every

:55:36. > :56:40.big serve, did it again. That is just too good. That one was

:56:41. > :56:45.totally unexpected, a bit of disbelief from Murray when this went

:56:46. > :56:50.past him, good length, in the point no problem, goes behind him and

:56:51. > :56:54.Murray couldn't believe that shot. Outstanding! He is running on fumes,

:56:55. > :57:36.isn't he? He is getting nervous!

:57:37. > :58:03.UMPIRE: Advantage Great Britain. The media getting into position, the

:58:04. > :58:11.moral that Murray had the big serve. Yes! Closing in, taking another

:58:12. > :58:21.step. Another step to claiming the Davis Cup for Great Britain! --

:58:22. > :58:27.murmur. In the fourth match of the tie against Australia in 1936, they

:58:28. > :58:35.had a chance, but couldn't get the job done. Fred Perry, Jack Crawford,

:58:36. > :58:40.these are the names we are talking about, and Andy Murray, alongside

:58:41. > :58:45.his team-mates, right on the brink of their own piece of sporting

:58:46. > :58:49.history. So much of Andy Murray's wiki dedicated to putting himself

:58:50. > :59:01.into position, to close it out, and here we are, one game away.

:59:02. > :59:32.Down one break in this set, Murray. Three points away.

:59:33. > :02:30.Hold on... He wanted that one so badly. Did not follow through

:02:31. > :03:12.enough. Great Britain have done it! In the

:03:13. > :03:22.most spectacular style! Andy Murray, unbeaten in Davis Cup! More sporting

:03:23. > :03:31.history. Hold on, lads. What a point to finish! Unreal I'm glad he went

:03:32. > :03:36.to find the captain. After everything that has happened in this

:03:37. > :03:44.part of the world in the last few weeks, it is right to remember this

:03:45. > :03:49.is just sport, and absolute appreciation from fellow

:03:50. > :04:00.professionals involved in the game. You know what? He was great this

:04:01. > :04:06.year. I love that he did this before the celebration. Now the real

:04:07. > :04:18.celebration. He might even have a glass of champagne later on! The

:04:19. > :04:21.news from Belgium is that the Davis Cup is on its way back, it has not

:04:22. > :04:53.been in our properties since prewar. Congratulations to Leon Smith. The

:04:54. > :04:59.stringers, the physios, the trainers... No surprise that Kim is

:05:00. > :05:06.overjoyed. I'm glad the excitement is over for her. James Ward, a

:05:07. > :05:17.magnificent victory over John Isner all the way back in the first round.

:05:18. > :05:22.Jamie, layer. Older brother. He played a huge part in this victory.

:05:23. > :05:37.Absolutely staggering. They combined well on the court. Look at the

:05:38. > :05:46.emotions. McEnroe went unbeaten one year. 11 in a row in Davis Cup is

:05:47. > :05:50.pretty staggering, when you think back to the Simon match at Queen's,

:05:51. > :05:58.the match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, all good. The match against

:05:59. > :06:02.Australia. It is one of the hardest things to do in our sport, winning

:06:03. > :06:13.three matches in a Davis Cup tie. He's had to do it three times.

:06:14. > :06:25.I'm glad we are seeing what lies beneath the greatest player we've

:06:26. > :06:50.had. How proud, and what a moment for any parent. He will spread this

:06:51. > :06:55.success, broadcast the message that tennis is great fun, it is a game

:06:56. > :06:59.for life, for boys and girls and every class and income across the

:07:00. > :07:04.country. If you've got the Davis Cup on the back of a truck, take it

:07:05. > :07:12.round and show it off, it was hard-won.

:07:13. > :07:19.What a result that is, as Andy Murray add his name to another

:07:20. > :07:24.chapter of tennis history. Superhuman effort to come through

:07:25. > :07:34.undefeated in both singles and doubles. If you want to know what it

:07:35. > :07:46.means to him, what a last point it was, we were hoping he would finish

:07:47. > :07:59.it in style. Such a huge moment for British tennis.

:08:00. > :08:12.Let's hear from Leon Smith. What does it mean to you? You can say it

:08:13. > :08:20.again! It is amazing. As good feeling as could possibly imagine.

:08:21. > :08:24.Andy has shown himself to be an absolute superstar. He will be the

:08:25. > :08:29.first to say it is a team thing but what he has done has been

:08:30. > :08:34.astonishing. Even though it was straight sets, that was a brutal

:08:35. > :08:39.match and he rose to the occasion. The teamwork has been a massive

:08:40. > :08:43.thing since you came into the team. Put into perspective what everybody

:08:44. > :08:54.else has done behind the scenes. It is so much work. So many people

:08:55. > :08:59.don't get credit, the players are there but there are so many people

:09:00. > :09:04.behind, the Stringer, who has done 350 rackets, the physio, a really

:09:05. > :09:10.work hard. Every player has played a part. I think we've got Andy going

:09:11. > :09:16.to come in now. Andy, Great Britain are Davis Cup champions. How does it

:09:17. > :09:19.feel? It feels amazing. I never thought we would have the

:09:20. > :09:25.opportunity to do this and I cannot believe how good it is. An

:09:26. > :09:33.unbelievably tough year. Some big matches that we won. Everyone who

:09:34. > :09:36.has played has played at an unbelievably high level. We had

:09:37. > :09:41.chances in almost every single match we have played. I can believe we did

:09:42. > :09:46.it. How about being out here with your brother and playing such a big

:09:47. > :09:52.part, all the family are here, are you aware of that? You are aware of

:09:53. > :09:57.it. It is important over a weekend like this to conserve your energy.

:09:58. > :10:03.After the doubles my brother spent a long time with my family, I felt

:10:04. > :10:08.rude but I had to go to sleep, get some rest because I knew today was

:10:09. > :10:13.going to be extremely tough. Very physical match, but I get to see

:10:14. > :10:16.everyone tonight and I cannot wait. At the start of the second set were

:10:17. > :10:22.you trying to get Jamie to come back to the court? He was right in the

:10:23. > :10:31.corner and I could see him out of my eye line. When you know your family

:10:32. > :10:36.is there, I tried to avoid eye contact with Jamie during the

:10:37. > :10:44.matches, because you can see when they are stressed, because you know

:10:45. > :10:48.them better than the other players. You have got some big titles in your

:10:49. > :10:53.time but that match point, could you have thought of a better way to win

:10:54. > :10:58.the Davis Cup? Everybody was saying you could not do it because the roof

:10:59. > :11:01.was too low here. It was great I managed to do it because we played a

:11:02. > :11:10.couple of long points and it was a nice 1-2 finish on! What happens

:11:11. > :11:15.now? Who will be leading the celebrations? I will try to keep

:11:16. > :11:19.Matt Little under control but I imagine everybody will be on fire.

:11:20. > :11:22.We've got to enjoy this because we may never get an opportunity to do

:11:23. > :11:28.this again as a team. We should celebrate tonight. Finally,

:11:29. > :11:35.Wimbledon, Olympic gold, US Open, Davis Cup, where do you go from

:11:36. > :11:41.here? Australian Open is next, that is one I have lost in the final four

:11:42. > :11:44.times. I need to learn a few things from this weekend, and how I handled

:11:45. > :11:50.everything, my attitude towards every single point. It is very

:11:51. > :11:56.difficult, I made it difficult for David, I made him work for every

:11:57. > :11:59.point. I will try to do that in Australia. But I will enjoy this.

:12:00. > :12:04.You've got the small matter of becoming a father. In February. I've

:12:05. > :12:08.got that to look forward to. It's going to be a great few months. Big

:12:09. > :12:16.changes in my life but I'm looking forward to it. Thank you, Andy.

:12:17. > :12:21.Enjoy it. A very emotional Andy Murray putting

:12:22. > :12:25.it into perspective. What an amazing record he has. It started with the

:12:26. > :12:30.Olympic gold medal, then the US Open, then Wimbledon champion and

:12:31. > :12:35.now, as part of a team, winning the Davis Cup. This is what he has

:12:36. > :12:41.wanted this year, to make a little bit more history. All of the team

:12:42. > :12:48.playing Bearpark. Jamie Murray, so many important doubles matches. Very

:12:49. > :12:57.tough one yesterday. That is what it means to Andy Murray. The dream has

:12:58. > :13:03.come true. Wonderful performance from all of the team here. Let's not

:13:04. > :13:09.forget James Ward, who played his part, beating John Isner. Kyle

:13:10. > :13:15.Edmund, who made his impressive debut here. Obviously disappointing

:13:16. > :13:23.on Friday but this surely overshadows everything? Absolutely.

:13:24. > :13:26.Watching that today was so good. Playing Friday and Saturday,

:13:27. > :13:30.obviously that is very tiring, he put in a huge effort today. We just

:13:31. > :13:40.won the Davis Cup, it is pretty unreal. Even for you, pretty strong

:13:41. > :13:45.doubles team, a couple of years ago could we imagine this? Like you

:13:46. > :13:52.said, that is the thing. Thinking about where we were five years ago,

:13:53. > :13:55.the journey started there and it is almost like we have won the

:13:56. > :14:02.competition, it has taken a lot of hard work. I played one match in the

:14:03. > :14:07.final but lots of other players have played their part and they deserve

:14:08. > :14:12.recognition. How can you use this experience to push on? You've had a

:14:13. > :14:17.great year this year. It has been pretty good for me. It has been the

:14:18. > :14:23.best year of my career. The atmosphere, the whole experience, it

:14:24. > :14:25.is nothing like I've ever imagined. I will use it and learn from the

:14:26. > :14:36.match and build on it. Thank you. That is the trophy, that is what it

:14:37. > :14:44.is all about. So much history involved, so many of the big names

:14:45. > :14:48.have added their names. Rafael Nadal has won it, Novak Djokovic, Roger

:14:49. > :14:53.Federer, and Andy Murray wanted to add a Great Britain's name. And it

:14:54. > :15:01.will go on that magnificent trophy once again after 79 years. John

:15:02. > :15:05.Lloyd is with me. You cannot underestimate the enormity of what

:15:06. > :15:08.these players have done. It is the most amazing achievement, and when

:15:09. > :15:15.you think about where we were and where we are now, champions of the

:15:16. > :15:19.world, and Andy Murray, the performance was staggering, this

:15:20. > :15:22.atmosphere, going up against this crowd, winning three sets against

:15:23. > :15:26.the player who was absolutely brilliant today, David Goffin,

:15:27. > :15:29.hopefully we will use this. We are the cup holder. We need to inspire

:15:30. > :15:39.more players. The important thing is to make it

:15:40. > :15:44.happen, go forward, get the kids involved in schools, in clubs, get

:15:45. > :15:52.Park tennis back again, really get them inspired by the likes of Andy

:15:53. > :15:56.Murray and Leon Smith has a good team, James Ward, Kyle Edmund,

:15:57. > :16:01.impressive debut here, so there is a future for the team. Absolutely, our

:16:02. > :16:07.world-class doubles team, even if Andy doesn't play, we have several

:16:08. > :16:13.other players, the basis of a good team. Great team if Andy plays, but

:16:14. > :16:17.still at solid team if he doesn't. Kyle Edmund will have seen what and

:16:18. > :16:24.the dead. He is thinking, I got tired in my first match, Andy Murray

:16:25. > :16:32.in his third match still running down balls like a greyhound! -- seen

:16:33. > :16:38.what they did. And I wondered how the clay court would have been for

:16:39. > :16:42.the final, but it has made the match is spectacular! Absolutely, the

:16:43. > :16:50.doubles were outstanding, and with Andy Murray and David Goffin, the

:16:51. > :16:56.cat and mouse to make winners and the physicality was just awesome! I

:16:57. > :17:00.was shocked at the standard. The Davis Cup final, played out there

:17:01. > :17:07.with no nervousness, just that dredging tennis, -- gut wrenching

:17:08. > :17:13.tenants, great pleasure to watch a match like that. Wonderful seeing

:17:14. > :17:19.the fans, and Andy Murray has given them so much to cheer about, really

:17:20. > :17:24.difficult opponent in David Goffin, giving his all, we should salute

:17:25. > :17:32.him. Absolutely, never went away after losing that second set,

:17:33. > :17:37.refused to give this up, but that was one of the best points we have

:17:38. > :17:43.seen, and they knew he had the match, staggering performance from

:17:44. > :17:49.both players, outstanding tennis. He makes you work so hard, the angles,

:17:50. > :17:56.he toys with you, the drop shot, overhead, you have to work so hard

:17:57. > :18:02.with Andy Murray. You do not get any freebies. Goffin thinking, I should

:18:03. > :18:08.have won that point, but didn't. How to beat him? It takes someone like

:18:09. > :18:13.Novak Djokovic, the only one who seems to these days. I could watch

:18:14. > :18:20.this point again and again and again, absolutely amazing.

:18:21. > :18:27.ANDREW CASTLE: This is a historic point for British tennis. Murray is

:18:28. > :18:33.out of shot, virtually, then when it went there, I thought he was going

:18:34. > :18:40.to do it. What a driving force for the game. Please, let's absolutely

:18:41. > :18:47.nail this! This guy has taken us to the World Championship, let's learn

:18:48. > :18:52.from this, take the game out and be proud. So many difficulties over the

:18:53. > :18:57.years, we talk about the problems, but that wonderful moment.

:18:58. > :19:04.It is official, we have won the Davis Cup. What are we to finish it,

:19:05. > :19:08.looking at the year, what James Ward did against John Isner. Andy Murray

:19:09. > :19:12.the leader but everyone has played their part, and he would see that.

:19:13. > :19:17.Without the right team you will not get the best out of everybody, so

:19:18. > :19:24.well done to Leon Smith, the glue is Andy Murray, you know you will get

:19:25. > :19:31.two or three match wins, but James Ward did well. Everybody has played

:19:32. > :19:36.their part. That is the real lesson. The next Andy Murray might

:19:37. > :19:41.be some time away, so let's just revel in watching his tennis,

:19:42. > :19:46.showing his character and nice to see the appreciation of the sport at

:19:47. > :19:53.his appreciation to the opposition. Look at this the Dwight Davies

:19:54. > :20:03.Trophy commissioned in 1899, and it is ours! The most beautiful trophy,

:20:04. > :20:07.certainly in tennis. It is lovely, all about the history of it. You

:20:08. > :20:13.have both played the Davis Cup and know what it means to all of the

:20:14. > :20:17.players around the world, the World Cup of fairness. Tennis is by and

:20:18. > :20:23.large are selfish sport, you are on your own, even with the entourage,

:20:24. > :20:29.but playing for yourself. This is team competition. We grew up playing

:20:30. > :20:33.with local clubs, and to play with the guys you are friends with, in

:20:34. > :20:39.front of this sort of crowd, maybe only in Davis Cup or US Open boss

:20:40. > :20:47.Julian cup with this type of atmosphere. And -- Australian cup.

:20:48. > :20:52.And when you hear game Great Britain, it is not just about you.

:20:53. > :20:57.And you can feel like you are letting your team down. Andy Murray

:20:58. > :21:03.in the second set was serving second of all time, coming out the whole

:21:04. > :21:10.time to the most enormous noise. Including the song Sweet Caroline.

:21:11. > :21:15.It is about experience and the finished product and Andy is at has

:21:16. > :21:21.done the work. We will take that trophy out to every club run by good

:21:22. > :21:27.well-meaning people, giving their time freely and willingly, bringing

:21:28. > :21:33.humility is together. -- bringing their communities together. These

:21:34. > :21:39.should go to every club over the next 12 months until we have to give

:21:40. > :21:43.it back. Absolutely, and the crowd playing their part, Andy Murray

:21:44. > :21:49.would like this at this fear for every match, he drives in it.

:21:50. > :21:55.Absolutely, even if the crowd is against him, he loves it. -- Andy

:21:56. > :22:01.Murray would like this atmosphere. It is wonderful, they absolutely

:22:02. > :22:07.love this, supporting the team wherever we have gone. In some

:22:08. > :22:10.places that have not been great to be honest, but following us

:22:11. > :22:15.everywhere, there are support has never wavered. And nice that

:22:16. > :22:22.everyone stayed in their seats. The Belgian fans will cheer the British

:22:23. > :22:27.team collecting the trophy. But how emotional it was for Andy to win it

:22:28. > :22:34.in style, winning the Davis Cup for Great Britain, all about teamwork,

:22:35. > :22:44.about pride and passion. He has it all, doesn't he? . He does, as

:22:45. > :22:48.stubborn and talented competitor. And the organisers, under difficult

:22:49. > :22:53.circumstances, it is a huge success, coming to an end in style, not easy

:22:54. > :23:01.after Paris. It was difficult arriving here. Sport has triumphed

:23:02. > :23:11.once again. Hasn't it? CHEERING This is the closing

:23:12. > :23:14.ceremony, everyone has stayed in their seats, huge ovation for the

:23:15. > :23:24.Belgian team, and even bigger one for Great Britain.

:23:25. > :23:36.In some ways, I hit to ask you this, but you know what get feels like to

:23:37. > :23:44.lose a Davis Cup, John. I wish I knew. But what a performance from

:23:45. > :23:50.the Belgian team. They were not expecting to win or be in the final.

:23:51. > :23:57.All credit to them. And such a wonderful way right the way through

:23:58. > :24:09.to the final. Great Britain! CHEERING

:24:10. > :24:19.Well, this is the Mormon Leon Smith, Andy Murray, Jamie Murray, James

:24:20. > :24:23.Ward, Kyle Edmund have wanted to witness.

:24:24. > :24:26.-- this is the moment. Watching out as Davis Cup champions, a long hard

:24:27. > :24:35.road. ANDREW CASTLE: The have had to give

:24:36. > :24:42.time and effort, and sometimes in sport you reach that the ward --

:24:43. > :24:49.reap the reward, and these are the moments of success you get. The last

:24:50. > :24:56.match of the year for Andy Murray, one E and everyone in British tennis

:24:57. > :25:03.will remember, magnificent effort for him and for the British team. A

:25:04. > :25:11.proud moment for British tennis. Please welcome the President of the

:25:12. > :25:22.International Tennis Federation. And this CEO of BNP Paribas. Please also

:25:23. > :25:29.welcome the President of the Royal Belgian tennis Federation. And the

:25:30. > :25:34.president of the Lawn Tennis Association.

:25:35. > :25:56.Wonderful moment for her. The person that has to build on from here.

:25:57. > :26:06.First of all, the officials awarded, all playing their part in

:26:07. > :26:09.this Davis Cup final. It has been a lovely final, everywhere

:26:10. > :26:13.behind-the-scenes, put on so well and although the crowd got a little

:26:14. > :26:21.bit tetchy to date, it has been played in a really nice manner,

:26:22. > :26:26.Andy. Yes, rather trigger-happy on the old air forums, but settled in

:26:27. > :26:32.nicely. Not easy to umpire and referee these situations, passions

:26:33. > :26:37.run high, everyone wrapped up in their national flag, you can forget

:26:38. > :26:42.yourself quickly. And difficult, John, when you don't want to lose

:26:43. > :26:46.the atmosphere of the Davis Cup final but abide by the rules. You

:26:47. > :27:18.can lose the point or game if you are not careful. Absolutely.

:27:19. > :27:29.Here, for Britain, Dom, played that wonderful doubles match with Jamie

:27:30. > :27:36.Murray, that was memorable in Glasgow, Dan Evans playing against

:27:37. > :27:38.Australia as well. The finalists will now be presented

:27:39. > :27:56.with their medals and trophies. It all gets underway again in

:27:57. > :28:02.March, the first week in March, when Great Britain will take on Japan and

:28:03. > :28:16.China Security, what a wonderful match that will be, -- and

:28:17. > :28:21.Nishikori. Let us salute these Belgian players who have played

:28:22. > :28:28.their part, Steve Darcis, David Goffin, world number 16, came back

:28:29. > :28:34.against Kyle Adnan, after two sets down, giving his old today but just

:28:35. > :28:42.too good for Andy Murray. -- Kyle Edmund. Hell of an effort. Lovely

:28:43. > :28:56.trophies for the runners up. Now to see what Britain have.

:28:57. > :29:04.And Leon Smith, got the job over Greg Rusedski, raised some eyebrows,

:29:05. > :29:08.but what an effort, Andy Murray has been the leader of this team, and

:29:09. > :29:18.Eden in singles and doubles, and hopefully Kyle Edmund learning so

:29:19. > :29:23.much. -- not beaten in singles and doubles. James Ward. About his

:29:24. > :29:27.victory over John Isner, big friend and supporter of Andy Murray. What

:29:28. > :29:34.wonderful doubles from Jamie Murray throughout the year. He has really

:29:35. > :29:42.come into his own. And Dan Evans!

:29:43. > :29:46.The team event, it is so important, and we talk about the players so

:29:47. > :29:54.much, but so many people behind the scenes. But here we go. We will see

:29:55. > :29:59.these shots tomorrow. Take a mental snapshot of this. If it is another

:30:00. > :30:06.79 years, we will not be around. Speak for yourself! But when you

:30:07. > :30:09.look at this man, still wants to play for many years, still driven,

:30:10. > :30:28.wants to make records and more history.

:30:29. > :31:01.BRITISH NATIONAL ANTHEM PLAYS play for many years, still driven,

:31:02. > :32:32.You earn the right to be good and lucky sometimes, something 's

:32:33. > :32:42.happened that weren't perfect, John Isner playing for relief. UN your

:32:43. > :32:48.life. -- new turn your luck. That was away on clay, the end of the

:32:49. > :32:55.hard way. When they headed was going to be on clay courts, Andy Murray's

:32:56. > :33:05.least favourite surface. He seems to be able to play brilliantly on any

:33:06. > :33:11.other. You learn a lot from being around the likes of Andy Murray and

:33:12. > :33:23.how he goes about his business. For Kyle Edmonds to see how intense Andy

:33:24. > :33:32.was, ego on every point. That is the kind of work ethic he has to have,.

:33:33. > :33:47.Not really prepared for this. Cannot believe this is happening.

:33:48. > :33:52.First of all, I want to thank all of the players for an unbelievable

:33:53. > :33:57.effort. Not just this year but ended years that have led to this moment,

:33:58. > :34:08.a massive round of applause for all these guys here.

:34:09. > :34:16.It is obviously... The well done to this Belgian team, phenomenal year

:34:17. > :34:23.for them, very proud of them and they should be too.

:34:24. > :34:32.Next up, I want to thank that whole group that are pretty much dressed

:34:33. > :34:38.in red, who are amazing! They have been rocking the whole time will

:34:39. > :34:46.stop we didn't do this without you guys. You have been amazing. This

:34:47. > :34:50.must be difficult for all the Belgian fans but I want is a big

:34:51. > :34:52.thanks for putting on one of the most incredible atmosphere is we

:34:53. > :34:54.could ever play in front of, you were absolutely incredible, so well

:34:55. > :35:15.done. I will get you locked in a minute! I

:35:16. > :35:22.would like to thank the ITF, our teams sponsors Aegon for looking

:35:23. > :35:32.after us these weeks, thank you for your support, Cathy. We have also

:35:33. > :35:36.one staunch supporter who died hope this still other, your Royal

:35:37. > :35:44.Highness, the Duchess, thank you for your continued support.

:35:45. > :35:52.You are welcome for a drink afterwards.

:35:53. > :36:04.Last, but definitely not least, to all of our British fans. CHEERING

:36:05. > :36:15.APPLAUSE I know it is going to be very tough

:36:16. > :36:19.going into work tomorrow or Tuesday or maybe Friday, whenever you make

:36:20. > :36:24.it, but you have been absolutely fantastic, we didn't do it without

:36:25. > :36:31.you and it felt like a 50-50 home tie for us, that is how good you

:36:32. > :36:33.are, thank you so much, everybody. That is it, I guess we will see you

:36:34. > :36:46.in Birmingham! You later. We all knew that was going to

:36:47. > :36:52.happen, but it was just what, I'm pleased to say. That goes with being

:36:53. > :36:56.a captain for being there. Jamie Baker, you have been watching it,

:36:57. > :37:01.quite an atmosphere and the crowd happily played their part. It has

:37:02. > :37:04.been amazing. For the disappointment, I put my Scottish

:37:05. > :37:08.hat on for a second, the disappointment of the football and

:37:09. > :37:15.rugby, these guys have just one might the World Cup of tennis.

:37:16. > :37:19.Unbelievable scenes. You know how the team building and bonding that

:37:20. > :37:24.goes on, it is a very tight team. That is one of the main reasons that

:37:25. > :37:29.Andy has wanted to commit himself to play. He is an ambitious guy, wanted

:37:30. > :37:35.to win the Davis Cup, 11 wins this year, undefeated in their love the

:37:36. > :37:42.way that finished, his favourite shot. The team will have a few

:37:43. > :38:11.official photographs, but what an ending, what a closing ceremony.

:38:12. > :38:16.It is quite hectic down here, we getting pushed and pulled around! I

:38:17. > :38:23.made the mistake of going on the court and I'm not allowed. Pirating

:38:24. > :38:28.-- pyrotechnics and everything done, we would miss you! You don't get the

:38:29. > :38:34.field in the studio how close the fans are, it has been amazing. It

:38:35. > :38:37.really has, it just goes to show what you have to do and how strong

:38:38. > :38:42.you have to be as a character to come out here and fight an opponent

:38:43. > :38:48.off those world-class and 13,000 other people. Maybe 10,000 because

:38:49. > :38:53.there were a lot of Brits on year. Wonderful show and a fitting end to

:38:54. > :38:57.a grand competition. This year, 130 nations were in it and we won! World

:38:58. > :39:34.champions, how does that sound? Talk about the atmosphere being

:39:35. > :39:40.amazing, it is getting pretty warm down here as well with all the

:39:41. > :39:43.pyrotechnics. They put on such a fabulous show and it is now so

:39:44. > :39:50.important that we build, we talked about the legacy that will come from

:39:51. > :39:53.this victory. We might allow ourselves on our two nights of

:39:54. > :39:57.celebration, the team well but this is an opportunity that cannot be

:39:58. > :40:01.squandered, Andy Murray is 28 views of age, they are all good-looking

:40:02. > :40:05.boys, let's get them out on the road showing the cup of and shall what

:40:06. > :40:12.achievement in sport can mean, we are very proud of them, this sport

:40:13. > :40:16.has changed your life and my life, play some sport, everybody get

:40:17. > :40:22.active, this is just the top end of it, it is great fun whether you win

:40:23. > :40:25.lose. All kids love to see a coffee and you talked about going on some

:40:26. > :40:30.of the clubs, they should go round some of the schools in getting kids

:40:31. > :40:32.involved in Park tennis and all of that. Judy Murray does a great job

:40:33. > :40:42.with that, lots of private initiatives. The Wimbledon juniors

:40:43. > :40:45.tennis initiative. The Stirling University lot are saluting one of

:40:46. > :40:53.our finest broadcasters, Sue Barker. We appreciate that. I appreciate

:40:54. > :40:58.their support. What FA Trophy, that was nice? Absolutely. We are all

:40:59. > :41:04.buzzing and having a laugh, this is a special day. Where are you going

:41:05. > :41:08.tonight? We have an official dinner we have to go through, so attending

:41:09. > :41:12.that in a couple of hours and after that, who knows? What does it feel

:41:13. > :41:18.like to be a member of this team because you seem such a close,

:41:19. > :41:23.strong team. It feels amazing, everybody here, we have all achieved

:41:24. > :41:27.this together, Andy has been a massive driving force that he

:41:28. > :41:36.appreciates every buddy Al Sedin contribution. They need you for a

:41:37. > :41:43.photo! Get in the photo! E as part of it. Let him in! The official

:41:44. > :41:48.photo was going to be done and he wasn't going to be in it! His kids

:41:49. > :41:54.will look at those photographs and wonder for you was! He was talking

:41:55. > :42:04.to us! Singing my song, this is lovely. Bakar Wonderland! There is a

:42:05. > :42:07.theme park idea! When you talk about Andy Murray and we can talk about

:42:08. > :42:12.the brilliance of him all day long but what a great match player he is

:42:13. > :42:17.as well. When we first started broadcasting tennis, we talked about

:42:18. > :42:21.Monica Seles been a great match player and you see people

:42:22. > :42:24.demonstrate that ability, others throughout ten, great match player,

:42:25. > :42:29.Sampras knew when there was a massive fine. Andy Murray has made

:42:30. > :42:32.himself a part of a generation of the best tennis players of all time

:42:33. > :42:39.and this is another huge feather in his cap, he is not always easy to

:42:40. > :42:42.watch. If you are a loved one, he is so competitive that he wants it so

:42:43. > :42:47.badly, this is a driven man and I enjoy his achievements. So much to

:42:48. > :42:50.be proud of and so does his family. We talked about how difficult this

:42:51. > :42:56.year has been and how he has dedicated to his Davis Cup, he

:42:57. > :43:02.finished as number two, didn't win a Grand Slam but great consistency. He

:43:03. > :43:04.only played two of the seven weeks leading up to the World Tour Finals

:43:05. > :43:08.and were prepared to sacrifice that for Davis Cup will stop the

:43:09. > :43:12.prioritised that and to criticism for that unfairly, he prioritised

:43:13. > :43:15.this and got the job done, it was a great decision, his consistency has

:43:16. > :43:19.been amazing, you talking about Australia. The biggest thing

:43:20. > :43:24.happening next year whether he knows it or not is that he is 90 become a

:43:25. > :43:29.dad and we hope everything goes well for Tim. We wish them well, what the

:43:30. > :43:35.moment this is and he has asked all of the team and backroom staff to be

:43:36. > :43:39.part of this photo as well, this is a magical day for British tennis,

:43:40. > :43:43.when you think five years ago they almost sunk into the lowest level of

:43:44. > :43:48.this competition up against Turkey but they came through and they have

:43:49. > :43:53.beaten Australia, beating America, France and Belgium, their Davis Cup

:43:54. > :43:56.captains, this team led by Andy Murray has put a break on Betty's

:43:57. > :43:59.tennis and pride back in British tennis, goodbye. Ladies European

:44:00. > :44:12.Tour in British tennis. The return of Andy Murray has been

:44:13. > :44:19.triumphant! James Ward brings Glasgow to its feet! The Americans

:44:20. > :44:31.beating! First set to France. Unbelievable

:44:32. > :44:41.character. Great Britain are in the Davis Cup semifinal. Absolutely

:44:42. > :44:48.pivotal doubles. We are going five sets here in Glasgow. The Murray

:44:49. > :44:56.brothers win! Great Britain are in the Davis Cup

:44:57. > :45:08.final! A monumental effort. Welcome to this historic occasion. I

:45:09. > :45:19.never thought you'd see this day again! On down, two to go, stepping

:45:20. > :45:22.up again for his country. The Murray brothers have won and they have

:45:23. > :45:30.hinged Great Britain closer. Two number one is squaring up. One set

:45:31. > :45:35.away from more tennis history. Great Britain have done it in the most

:45:36. > :45:37.spectacular style! The Davis Cup is on its way back.
