:00:35. > :00:43.Good afternoon, Davis Cup ties are lard to win away -- hard to win away

:00:44. > :00:51.from home. But Britain are on the verge of that. They're one win away

:00:52. > :01:01.from a place in the systemy final after a convict -- semi-final in a

:01:02. > :01:07.tense victory. Here is the teting, in Belgrade. Now the doubles

:01:08. > :01:18.contest. That is a very fine set of tennis. A superb start. That drops

:01:19. > :01:24.in, it is one set all. It is a massive body blow to the British

:01:25. > :01:29.team. What a way to finish. 2-1. And that's it. Britain are in the

:01:30. > :01:42.driving seat. Wonderful win. Brilliant. Britain 2-1 up. One

:01:43. > :01:52.victory would put them through. All eyes on Kyle Edmund, just 21, he is

:01:53. > :01:56.Britain's No 1, because Murs is -- Andy Murray is not playing. We will

:01:57. > :02:11.find out more about this young man today. As he tries to put Britain

:02:12. > :02:16.through. Edmund against Dusan Lajovic and then Janko Tipsarevic.

:02:17. > :02:31.Argentina are doing well and win if they win will play the winner of

:02:32. > :02:40.Italy against Argentina. France are 2-1 up against the Czech Republic.

:02:41. > :02:50.And in America the Bryans lost the doubles match and the United States

:02:51. > :02:56.need Isner to beat Cilic. That is what is happening else where. All

:02:57. > :03:05.eyes on Belgrade. John and Jamie are here. It is a big day for Kyle. We

:03:06. > :03:08.thought it would come down to this and Kyle would get his chance to

:03:09. > :03:13.shine. What a performance against Janko Tipsarevic on Friday. We

:03:14. > :03:18.weren't sure how good Janko Tipsarevic would be, but Kyle Edmund

:03:19. > :03:22.was fantastic and took control of his own performance. Massive

:03:23. > :03:26.hitting, lots of winners and today the doubles team have done a great

:03:27. > :03:32.job in putting the team 2-1 up and he has a chance to win the tie.

:03:33. > :03:40.Talking of doubles match, it was a tense win, four sets look OK, but it

:03:41. > :03:43.had its moments? Yes they were such heavy favourites, especially when

:03:44. > :03:48.Janko Tipsarevic didn't play in the doubles. That creates its own

:03:49. > :03:52.pressure. The boys should have won the second and lost that and it got

:03:53. > :03:58.tight in the third and the Serbia team started to believe they could

:03:59. > :04:02.win the match. But I think Jamie Murray held it together, Dom

:04:03. > :04:08.Inglot's return of serve went off for a bit. But they got it together.

:04:09. > :04:15.They can play a lot better, but they played well enough to win and got

:04:16. > :04:20.the job done. It was a scratch pairing, we were expecting Janko

:04:21. > :04:26.Tipsarevic and Nenad Zimonjic is a decent doubles player. Sometimes

:04:27. > :04:30.that first set was so comfortable, because Filip Krajinovic was the

:04:31. > :04:35.weak link. But the British pair would have known this guy is a good

:04:36. > :04:38.player and he would have come back into the match. That is what

:04:39. > :04:43.happened. It is so difficult when you have so many chances, eleven

:04:44. > :04:49.break points and only taking one. It was so important they got the third

:04:50. > :04:52.set. If they had all those chances and didn't get that, it would have

:04:53. > :05:02.been difficult. The doubles is always crucial. They knew this was

:05:03. > :05:09.going to be the decide Serce. -- decider. We weren't sure who would

:05:10. > :05:11.play well and whether Kyle would settle and Janko Tipsarevic we

:05:12. > :05:16.didn't know how he was going to play. The doubles we thought would

:05:17. > :05:22.be our win and then we lose the second set and we are thinking a

:05:23. > :05:28.banker win would have put the tie in jeopardy. It was nice for Dom to

:05:29. > :05:34.serve it out. He must have been tense! And of course he has been in

:05:35. > :05:39.so many Davis Cup squads and the two doubles matches he has played he has

:05:40. > :05:44.played one of best teams of all time in the Bryans. Yesterday he had a

:05:45. > :05:50.couple of nervy moments. But two massive serves in the end to win it

:05:51. > :05:58.when he was very pleased at the end. He is not known as Dom The Bomb for

:05:59. > :06:02.nothing. So happy for him, 9-7 in the fifth, losing to the Bryans, you

:06:03. > :06:10.feel you have won a rubber for the team. Exactly, he has been a good

:06:11. > :06:18.team member, but he hasn't won a match. Now I really belong. He's

:06:19. > :06:25.lovely fella, to play the Bryan brothers twice, so he has finally

:06:26. > :06:29.won one and we are blessed with good doubles players and Andy Murray when

:06:30. > :06:32.he plays, that is almost a guaranteed two victories and now

:06:33. > :06:37.doubles players even if Andy doesn't play, we have a decent chance. We

:06:38. > :06:44.are in good shape. Let's hear how delighted Dom was after the match.

:06:45. > :06:50.You're the man who had to serve it out and a first Davis Cup win for

:06:51. > :06:55.you. That must be a special feeling. You'd better believe it! I was

:06:56. > :07:00.saying to the guys, it is great to feel you finally have come out here

:07:01. > :07:05.and put a rubber in for the team and serving it out was a bit

:07:06. > :07:09.nerve-wracking, but with the likes of Jamie there, you know when you

:07:10. > :07:15.might miss the serve he will help you. And he did. He deserves a lot

:07:16. > :07:19.of dedit. We were talking there needed to be a captain on the team

:07:20. > :07:29.and Dom did rely on Jamie's experience. Definitely. In Smith The

:07:30. > :07:34.An experienced -- they have an experienced captain. That point

:07:35. > :07:39.about Inglot having been part of team and it is one thing for

:07:40. > :07:43.somebody to say he's good team member, but the difference from now

:07:44. > :07:48.winning a match is massive. He sounded quite happy. You had better

:07:49. > :07:53.believe it! Also for Jamie, so pleased for him, so often he relies

:07:54. > :07:57.on Andy, here he had to take the lead role on court. Probably proved

:07:58. > :08:01.a lot to himself. He did well, he has been No 1 in the world and there

:08:02. > :08:06.is a difference swagger about him now. He always had a lot of

:08:07. > :08:10.confidence, but to be No 1 in the world and win a Grand Slam, he looks

:08:11. > :08:15.like he is the authority. And even when he plays with Andy, you would

:08:16. > :08:19.think Andy would be the boss, but Jamie gives as good as he gets and

:08:20. > :08:24.feels on the doubles court that is his world and he is the boss. That

:08:25. > :08:30.victory means just one win from going through to the semi-finals.

:08:31. > :08:37.Let's hear what Lyon Smith thinks about that. It is always good to go

:08:38. > :08:43.2-1 up. Rather than if you're 2-1 down you know how much pressure it

:08:44. > :08:49.is to win that first match. It is still in the balance. We have been

:08:50. > :08:56.2-1 up and we have had Andy Murray to go out. We have our up and coming

:08:57. > :09:01.player in Kyle, who is terrific, he was terrific against Janko

:09:02. > :09:05.Tipsarevic. He will have a different challenge with Dusan Lajovic.

:09:06. > :09:10.Similar rankings. Both I think favouring clay-court and both

:09:11. > :09:17.looking in good shape. So I'm sure, I can't say for sure, but I think

:09:18. > :09:22.Dusan Lajovic not a lot of Davis Cup experience. How do you think Kyle

:09:23. > :09:27.has settled into his role as Britain's No 1 here and do you feel

:09:28. > :09:32.that he believes that he can win the tie for Great Britain from the

:09:33. > :09:39.front? He has been really good. In the way he has gone about not just

:09:40. > :09:44.this week, but Davis Cup how he is approaching life, to being a tour

:09:45. > :09:48.player and moving in the rankings. He works hard, every practice

:09:49. > :09:51.session he is giving it high intensity and always wanting a bit

:09:52. > :09:59.more. We have seen that more and more. He is looking for things. To

:10:00. > :10:04.improve his game. And you know it is a big moment for tomorrow to be able

:10:05. > :10:12.potentially go out and seal victory for us. Where he is good, he doesn't

:10:13. > :10:17.get too far ahead of himself. He is methodical in his approach. The same

:10:18. > :10:21.thing, routines. He is pretty straight down the line that way. It

:10:22. > :10:25.is brilliant. It is what you want. And he should be confident, because

:10:26. > :10:29.he is playing well. He has a tough opponent tomorrow, who I thought was

:10:30. > :10:34.impressive today and he has been impressive when I have watched him.

:10:35. > :10:39.And if that doesn't plan out, we have another crack at it. Yes, the

:10:40. > :10:43.captain's role is not easy, you have done it, John, away ties

:10:44. > :10:49.particularly. No they're not easy and for Leon this is a big test. We

:10:50. > :10:54.had that great convict against Russia -- victory against Russia

:10:55. > :10:58.without Andy. If we can get through this match it shows how our other

:10:59. > :11:02.players are improving. If Kyle can come through this or James Ward if

:11:03. > :11:07.necessary, that is a big boost to the team to know even if Andy

:11:08. > :11:13.doesn't play we have a world group team and deservedly so. Away matches

:11:14. > :11:17.are tough. This will be a very good victory if we can pull it out.

:11:18. > :11:23.Looking at Leon's record from eight years ago when we were bottom of

:11:24. > :11:28.Euro/African zone, he has achieved a lot. Yes, you go back to the start

:11:29. > :11:34.where you would give him the most credit. He was clear as to what he

:11:35. > :11:37.wanted to kind of set out his philosophy, his strategy of the team

:11:38. > :11:40.and he spent a lot of time making sure everybody involved whether

:11:41. > :11:43.players or staff that they were going to buy into that. It is

:11:44. > :11:47.interesting looking at the whole team and not just Leon this year,

:11:48. > :11:53.this is the third year in a row they have been in the world group, last

:11:54. > :11:57.year winning it, when you saw the way the draw was shaping up, it

:11:58. > :11:59.looked like we have a chance of winning this, Andy Murray is

:12:00. > :12:04.committed. This year, because it is a bit like if you think back to when

:12:05. > :12:10.Andy Murray was first in a Grand Slam time, it is all new and takes

:12:11. > :12:14.up a lot of energy. Now he is so experienced at it and there is a bit

:12:15. > :12:19.of feeling within the team that this is a quarter-finals of Davis Cup and

:12:20. > :12:25.it is a big tie, but I think they're used to dealing with it. Yes and

:12:26. > :12:29.coping well. Let's hope that the weather holds, that has been key for

:12:30. > :12:39.us over the past two days. I seem to think there is a few umbrellas

:12:40. > :12:46.around. What is the weather like, Russell. It is Mizel, as Jamie would

:12:47. > :12:51.say. It is misty rain being blown around by the wind into your face,

:12:52. > :12:56.rather than on to the court. So at the moment there will be no

:12:57. > :13:02.hesitation in starting on time. The court has been prepared. Jake

:13:03. > :13:05.Garner, the umpire, has been inspecting the court and we are

:13:06. > :13:11.waiting for the players. I think there is a good chance we will get

:13:12. > :13:16.some interruptions, but not like Friday where we knew there was a

:13:17. > :13:20.belt of heavy rain. We will be rucky, considering -- lucky,

:13:21. > :13:25.considering you can keep playing in light rain, if we don't get any

:13:26. > :13:28.interruptions. There has been criticism about the court, people

:13:29. > :13:35.saying it is a heavy court. It has not xom out of it well. No, I think

:13:36. > :13:41.even though the team were happy with the before the first match, its was

:13:42. > :13:45.difficult for James Ward to play on on Saturday after that rain, the

:13:46. > :13:50.covers were on, but it was a pudding of a court and it didn't help him.

:13:51. > :13:53.When the sun came out yesterday, then it was playing better again for

:13:54. > :14:02.the doubles. Although they did have to do a few running repairing at one

:14:03. > :14:07.point break off mid game. It is one area Naseems -- that seems

:14:08. > :14:12.particularly affected. I still think generally given it is a drop in

:14:13. > :14:17.court and we remember the court in the Naples two years ago, that

:14:18. > :14:20.wasn't up to scratch, I think generally given the circumstances,

:14:21. > :14:25.the British team have some positive things to say about the surface. I

:14:26. > :14:32.don't know if you heard from Jamie, but he said he couldn't see the ball

:14:33. > :14:37.toss. Has there been talk of that? No, I didn't hear him say that. The

:14:38. > :14:43.viewing in this ground if you're throwing up a ball, there are some

:14:44. > :14:48.red executive boxing either end and that might blend in perhaps with the

:14:49. > :14:52.colour of the clay. I'm not sure, I can't think of any reason why that

:14:53. > :14:57.should be an issue after you have seen it is a concrete bowl with

:14:58. > :15:02.spectators around. The noise is being made by the British fans. Not

:15:03. > :15:08.a great turn out from Serbia. We reckon there are about 300 British

:15:09. > :15:14.fans and they're 25% of crowd, but making 50% of the noise! Thank you.

:15:15. > :15:18.You spoke, you have been hearing from Jamie Murray, he was

:15:19. > :15:23.distracted. We saw him pointing at them. We weren't sure what it was.

:15:24. > :15:32.There is some blue windows and because of the light colour of the

:15:33. > :15:36.rock he said when the sun was bright he couldn't, he was losing the ball

:15:37. > :15:41.when the guy was throwing up to serve. A lot of that was in the

:15:42. > :15:47.third set when there was a lot of tension. When things start affecting

:15:48. > :15:53.you more! It has been disappointing as far as the turn out for Serbia,

:15:54. > :15:58.but for all of the fans from Britain they sat through the rain and it

:15:59. > :16:03.felt like a home match. Exactly. For Kyle Edmund on the first day, you

:16:04. > :16:08.think of when you go to Serbia, you're going to go out into this

:16:09. > :16:11.lion's den and have the crowd going crazy, he must have thought, I have

:16:12. > :16:16.woken up on the wrong side of the bed! It sounded like a home tie and

:16:17. > :16:20.it has been tremendous for the British team to have this support

:16:21. > :16:29.away from home and talk about loyal fans. They go every where. They will

:16:30. > :16:33.be singing for this young man today and be singing after every point and

:16:34. > :16:37.supporting the captain Leon Smith. It was interesting what he said

:16:38. > :16:42.about Kyle and how relaxed he is over there. Because it is a big day

:16:43. > :16:49.for him. Representing your country is more than playing for yourself.

:16:50. > :16:52.That was interesting, Kyle, one of Kyle's strong attributes, is he

:16:53. > :16:56.doesn't get too excited one way or the other. We can talk about him

:16:57. > :17:00.leading the team and how big a match it is, he comes into the weekend and

:17:01. > :17:06.he knew he would have to be playing two big singles matches and all he

:17:07. > :17:14.focussed on is how he can win those matches. I'm pleased the players are

:17:15. > :17:18.on, although the brollies are up. We are ready for Edmund against Dusan

:17:19. > :17:23.Lajovic. Two players who have impressed so far in this tie. A

:17:24. > :17:31.great start for Great Britain. That is a piece of physical strength. He

:17:32. > :17:40.has done it. He has done it in style. That is a very brisk first

:17:41. > :17:51.set for Dusan Lajovic. He has played well. Dusan Lajovic is a fine

:17:52. > :17:58.player. He has got the skills, I'm sure you will agree. Let's not

:17:59. > :18:03.underestimate Dusan Lajovic. But Kyle has Leon Smith out there, Andy

:18:04. > :18:09.Murray is behind the captain and Kyle relies on Andy and he has gone

:18:10. > :18:16.to stay with him in Miami and trusts Andy and talks about his preparation

:18:17. > :18:20.and they have become close. If you can do that on the circuit when

:18:21. > :18:24.you're playing, hang around with the winners, it is one of the most

:18:25. > :18:30.important things you can do. Hang around, listen to what they say, see

:18:31. > :18:34.what their mind set is before matches and Kyle is fortunate that

:18:35. > :18:41.they can hang out with Andy, whether at his training base or at Davis Cup

:18:42. > :18:45.matches, take from these matches, learn what the champions do. And to

:18:46. > :18:50.have Andy in this group here right, almost on the court with you and

:18:51. > :18:57.sort of shouting and instructions, how good is that? And Kyle against

:18:58. > :19:02.Janko Tipsarevic, although maybe Janko Tipsarevic was below par, he

:19:03. > :19:09.produced some magnificent tennis. Yes we had a good display of how his

:19:10. > :19:15.weaponry, his first serve and his forehand, we thought it would be a

:19:16. > :19:20.question of how well he could use the forehand in the wet conditions.

:19:21. > :19:24.He was extremely good and probably more impressive in those conditions

:19:25. > :19:29.how easy is to it lose your way a bit and he just didn't at all. I

:19:30. > :19:35.think there was one moment at 3-3 in the second set where Janko

:19:36. > :19:41.Tipsarevic broke back and you thought the match might change. But

:19:42. > :19:47.Kyle broke him straight back. He has got the weapons. We have always seen

:19:48. > :19:55.that and worried about his stamina, because of the nerves against

:19:56. > :20:00.Goffin. He has improved. Yes the backhand, we focus on, we focussed

:20:01. > :20:07.on forehand, but his backhand in the first match was very good and he hit

:20:08. > :20:10.a couple of big ones. But his forehand, his footwork getting into

:20:11. > :20:17.the back corner where he dictates the play. He can go down the line.

:20:18. > :20:23.The fascinating battle will between the forehand to the Dusan Lajovic

:20:24. > :20:27.backhand. But look at the pressure on this man. If he loses, it is

:20:28. > :20:35.over. At least Britain have another chance. This is a big match for him.

:20:36. > :20:38.He hasn't been in this position, because he has had Novak Djokovic

:20:39. > :20:45.and Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic. Yes he said on yesterday

:20:46. > :20:50.morning when he came on to court it was the first time he had come on

:20:51. > :21:01.1-0 down. He had always had that leeway of being one rubber up. He

:21:02. > :21:05.looked very good. It was similar to the Edmund match, Janko Tipsarevic

:21:06. > :21:12.wasn't up to standard. Ward had a poor day. But Dusan Lajovic is very

:21:13. > :21:16.comfortable on the clay. He can hit with different flight and angles and

:21:17. > :21:21.that is one thing that Kyle will have to counter act today, because a

:21:22. > :21:26.lot of his forehand attack would be going into that wing. The beautiful

:21:27. > :21:32.backhand he had James going all over the place. And the thing that was

:21:33. > :21:39.good, his length. That height, that natural height he gets, a good

:21:40. > :21:42.clay-courters do. Janko Tipsarevic was hitting short against Edmund and

:21:43. > :21:47.allowed Kyle to get around to hit the forehand. In this match he won't

:21:48. > :21:52.have as much time. He will have to pick his times, he can't be over

:21:53. > :21:57.aggressive. Because he will take too many chances. It is a sort of a

:21:58. > :22:01.finely balanced tactical plan. When you have gone Leon as the captain

:22:02. > :22:05.and Andy in the background, they will figure it out. They may have to

:22:06. > :22:10.change game plans during the match and may not just be one way of

:22:11. > :22:17.playing. Andy will have a plan. He is a great tactician. He will give

:22:18. > :22:22.Kyle a lot of advice. Yes definitely he will, he has an eagle eye, he

:22:23. > :22:27.will see anything. For Dusan Lajovic, he will be looking to take

:22:28. > :22:32.that backhand up the line early in the point so he can unsettle Kyle's

:22:33. > :22:35.position on the court and get him moving to that forehand side

:22:36. > :22:41.earlier. If he is doing that, where the eye of Andy Murray you will say,

:22:42. > :22:47.have you got one or two solutions to stop him? It is another heavy day,

:22:48. > :22:53.but Kyle proved on Friday he enjoys this and he will be trying to hit

:22:54. > :22:58.Dusan Lajovic off the court. Jamie and John thank you. You're on your

:22:59. > :23:08.way to commentary box. All your's Jonathan. COMMENTATOR: Welcome to

:23:09. > :23:15.day three of this Davis Cup tie. It was quite a thing when Britain won

:23:16. > :23:24.the Davis Cup last year, breaking a 79 year wait in Belgium. Looking

:23:25. > :23:29.back over recent results when Murray hasn't been in the team, there was a

:23:30. > :23:35.terrific win in Coventry against Russia in 2013. James Ward playing

:23:36. > :23:40.his part. Dan Evans too. But that wasn't in the world group. This one

:23:41. > :23:46.a huge win for Great Britain if they can seal the tie here without Andy

:23:47. > :23:55.Murray in the elite world group, the Premier League if you like. Last

:23:56. > :24:06.time Britain won a world group tie without Andy Murray was 1986, Tim

:24:07. > :24:13.Henman and Greg Rusedsk never got a world group win. Win has never won a

:24:14. > :24:19.world group match without its No 1 player. The world group introduced

:24:20. > :24:23.in 1981. In all that time, either we have been in different divisions,

:24:24. > :24:29.been losing in the world group or we have been winning in the world group

:24:30. > :24:39.with our No 1. So this is a historical moment and a big chance

:24:40. > :24:44.for the British No 2, Kyle Edmund. Fantastic for on day one. But this a

:24:45. > :25:11.huge chance for him. The opportunity of his life.

:25:12. > :25:21.Dusan Lajovic to the right, Serbia's No 1 for this tie. Thichs This is

:25:22. > :25:24.the battle of No 1 players. Had Murray and Djokovic been here, that

:25:25. > :25:30.would have been the world No 1 and the world No 2. It was lovely for a

:25:31. > :25:40.few months to think that might have happened. But it is not the case.

:25:41. > :25:47.The Djokovic family represented by his father. No doubt we will get a

:25:48. > :25:52.glimpse of him again. Kyle Edmund's parents are here to cheer on their

:25:53. > :27:22.son and here is Edmund starting rubber 4.

:27:23. > :27:35.If you didn't have a chance to see Edmund play on Friday, look out for

:27:36. > :27:41.his big serve and that big forehand that has helped him up the rankings

:27:42. > :27:43.to 67. And there we go - right on cue, the perfect demonstration of

:27:44. > :28:11.those two major assets. Double fault, but no concerns,

:28:12. > :28:19.Jamie, that was a confident service hold by the British No 1? Yes, it

:28:20. > :28:22.looked very comfortable. Good to see him opening his shoulders on a

:28:23. > :28:32.couple of forehands. Especially on the clay, it is such a nice feeling

:28:33. > :28:40.to have a comfortable hold. An impressive start from Kyle Edmund. I

:28:41. > :28:45.think those British fans have been put through their paces by Matt

:28:46. > :28:51.Little the strength and conditioning coach, I hope so, over Breck fans,

:28:52. > :28:56.if -- breakfast, if they're going to dance all the time it will be an

:28:57. > :29:11.exhausting effort from them, let alone the players!

:29:12. > :29:20.Look out with this man Dusan Lajovic for his single-handed backhand. He

:29:21. > :29:49.created so many opens against James War.

:29:50. > :29:58.Hello John. I like the way how early he is taking the ball on the rise,

:29:59. > :30:02.right on the baseline, not allowing that high bounce that Lajovic uses.

:30:03. > :30:54.Kyle just snuffing that out. Court repairs after eight points

:30:55. > :30:58.never a good sign. Hopefully, this clay-court, which has seen a lot of

:30:59. > :31:27.rain over the last three or four days, will stand up to the test.

:31:28. > :31:35.The forecast is for a few potential showers today, but nothing like the

:31:36. > :31:39.heavy rain of Friday. A huge shame, especially for the spectators

:31:40. > :31:43.because it was 40-degree heat midweek last week and coming up this

:31:44. > :31:53.week it is going to be sweltering as well.

:31:54. > :31:59.As you can see around the court, lots of long sleeves, coats and

:32:00. > :32:09.sweaters, and blankets, and everyone is huddled up, wrapped up. It's not

:32:10. > :32:14.the Mediterranean summer, is it? Well, 1-1. Both players working each

:32:15. > :32:18.other out in the early stages. A little bit of a better crowd than

:32:19. > :32:22.Saturday or Sunday, but still a shame to see empty spaces around

:32:23. > :33:10.this extraordinary Tasmajdan Stadium.

:33:11. > :33:18.That's lovely work from Edmund. Just more of the same. Picking up from

:33:19. > :33:23.where he left on Friday, Jamie. You can see straightaway the power and

:33:24. > :33:29.the damage that that Edmund forehand can do to Lajovic. I don't think in

:33:30. > :33:33.the home match did we see him looking anywhere near that level of

:33:34. > :34:49.discomfort. It is just an extra bit of pace on that ball from Edmund.

:34:50. > :35:15.that is going to do the damage for Edmund and potentially win this for

:35:16. > :35:21.Britain. It is something that James Ward yesterday failed to do, pierce

:35:22. > :35:25.those Lajovic defences. It's a totally different ball flight that

:35:26. > :35:29.he has. Lajovic hit a good forehand on that last point, nice and high,

:35:30. > :35:33.and he would think, I'm back into neutral position on the court, and

:35:34. > :35:38.what does Kyle Edmund do? He takes it on the rise and slaps a winner

:35:39. > :35:41.cross-court. He is sending out a message here that, basically,

:35:42. > :35:45.anything in my hitting area, if it is not deep, this is the sort of

:35:46. > :35:49.pressure I will put on you. That sends a big message - I know it is

:35:50. > :35:53.early days - but right away, I would be surprised if Lajovic was

:35:54. > :35:56.expecting, even though he saw the other match, it is different

:35:57. > :36:00.watching someone than actually playing and feeling the force of the

:36:01. > :36:05.blows coming at you and I think right now he will be thinking, I

:36:06. > :36:11.will have to play well here. Very impressive start. The big question

:36:12. > :36:16.is, can you keep this up for three to four hours? That is what Lajovic

:36:17. > :36:20.will be thinking. Try and do this for three or four hours against me!

:36:21. > :36:24.Can he stay in the rallies long enough to keep him pinned back

:36:25. > :36:30.there? That is the question. There are those windows you were referring

:36:31. > :36:33.to, Jamie, that Jamie Murray had a problem with yesterday. When you are

:36:34. > :36:37.down at court level, you are looking up at that, when you are following

:36:38. > :36:41.the flight of someone's serve? It was also the rock to the left of

:36:42. > :36:43.that. You had the massive glare off the window and then that

:36:44. > :36:53.light-coloured rock to the left. I don't think we will have any

:36:54. > :36:59.problems with glare off the sun today, though! It's gone back to

:37:00. > :37:04.Friday, very heavy conditions, blustery, as you can see. Damp, not

:37:05. > :37:06.particularly pleasant for the spectators who are sitting on these

:37:07. > :38:10.concrete steps all around. Again, the weight of the shot, this

:38:11. > :38:13.time from very deep in the court, that wasn't the Kyle Edmund stepping

:38:14. > :38:18.inside the baseline, dictating with his forehand. Look here from a

:38:19. > :38:24.defensive position, to get that through the court... Exactly what I

:38:25. > :38:29.was saying. Lajovic would have thought, I'm ahead in this rally and

:38:30. > :38:39.a forehand comes back at him like this. That is a bit scary.

:38:40. > :38:47.That's gone wide as well. It is worrying and scary for Serbia, but

:38:48. > :38:51.quite exciting scary for us. Exactly. He has started this match

:38:52. > :38:57.really well. That attempted drop shot from Lajovic, not only was it

:38:58. > :39:01.wide, it was passed the service line so an indication he hasn't settled

:39:02. > :39:08.into this match but Edmund has bt let him. -- hasn't let him. A bit of

:39:09. > :39:10.rain falling, but this is break-point to Kyle Edmund and Great

:39:11. > :39:30.Britain. That was a brave move, approaching

:39:31. > :39:31.into the Edmund forehand, after what has happened the last couple of

:39:32. > :40:44.points. He is going to want to stay up tight

:40:45. > :40:47.to the baseline as much as possible, Kyle Edmund, in this. It is

:40:48. > :40:52.something that the British coaches have been working on building up to

:40:53. > :40:54.the tie. They want their players to not be pushed back if at all

:40:55. > :41:02.possible. We might see a few of those

:41:03. > :41:17.mis-hits. Very interesting start to this match. 2-2, first set.

:41:18. > :41:25.He's calling for the umpire to get someone out to fix the court up

:41:26. > :41:33.already. Just passed the baseline. That is the problem area. They have

:41:34. > :41:37.these little craters that get involved on the court and if you put

:41:38. > :41:41.your foot in there when you are running, you are going to be in

:41:42. > :41:47.trouble. That is where you can do some serious problem with an ankle.

:41:48. > :41:53.The answer is, don't stand that far back! This can only ever be a

:41:54. > :41:58.temporary fix as well. Of course. What can they do? They stamp it down

:41:59. > :42:02.a bit. As soon as the players... They are so strong, they dig their

:42:03. > :42:05.feet in, if it is unsettled like that, it will just churn up again.

:42:06. > :42:34.It is only a matter of time. A very late call from the baseline

:42:35. > :42:39.judge. He did finally make it and extend his arm. The umpire

:42:40. > :43:45.confirming it. I don't think he wanted to get off his chair again!

:43:46. > :44:01.He did everything right in the rally apart from execute that final shot.

:44:02. > :44:08.I don't think the British captain will mind that. He is showing he can

:44:09. > :44:35.run Lajovic around. Dictating as much as possible.

:44:36. > :44:51.Lovely conditions out there(!) It is windy. There's rain in your face.

:44:52. > :44:57.There may have to be a conversation soon. The Serbian captain looks to

:44:58. > :45:01.be having a word with the umpire now. What is interesting about this.

:45:02. > :45:09.Kyle Edmund played through the rain in his match on day one. Just look

:45:10. > :45:15.at that. That is not much fun. Summer? Hello! Lajovic had his match

:45:16. > :45:18.called off because of the late finish on Friday. Came back and

:45:19. > :45:29.played yesterday in much nicer conditions. So it is Edmund who has

:45:30. > :45:33.the experience of these heavier, wetter, dirtier... You have to get

:45:34. > :45:44.on with it. He's got no choice. It really is so bad out there. It's the

:45:45. > :45:50.speed of the court that he has said has helped him. It gives him a bit

:45:51. > :45:55.more time to get round into this backhand corner. It gives him more

:45:56. > :45:59.time to wind up on that forehand. If somebody takes away the ability for

:46:00. > :46:05.someone to hit flat into his backhand, they can pin him in that

:46:06. > :46:08.corner. This is quarterfinal of the Davis Cup, Britain in defence of the

:46:09. > :46:12.trophy they won last year. The winners of this tie will play either

:46:13. > :46:18.Italy or Argentina in the semifinals. If that is Britain, it

:46:19. > :46:25.will be at home in September. Argentina are 2-1 up in the tie as

:46:26. > :46:38.things stand after winning the doubles yesterday. Fognini has won

:46:39. > :46:48.the third. Two sets to one as things stand.

:46:49. > :47:05.One set all between France and the Czech Republic. Later, it is the USA

:47:06. > :47:08.against Croatia. That semifinal will almost certainly be indoors later in

:47:09. > :47:13.the year. We have played home ties in September at Wimbledon before.

:47:14. > :47:19.Yes, risky, but I would think with the amount of bad weather we have

:47:20. > :47:22.had so far, maybe we can go out on grass. But I would imagine that

:47:23. > :47:28.would be an indoor match if we win this one. Plenty of tennis to be

:47:29. > :47:33.played before then. This is the fourth rubber of the tie, Britain

:47:34. > :47:41.2-1 up, needing one more match win to move into the semifinals. A

:47:42. > :48:04.confident start from Edmund, closer to the camera, 3-2.

:48:05. > :48:14.That is where Kyle Edmund, against Tipsarevic, that type of forehand

:48:15. > :48:15.didn't come back, but that one came back with interest from Lajovic.

:48:16. > :49:12.This man gets a lot of balls back. Well played. Really well played. The

:49:13. > :49:16.angle that he is able to create with that forehand, John, it's creating

:49:17. > :49:19.so many opportunities. He has that ability from a neutral position,

:49:20. > :50:23.opening up the court. It is a ferocious forehand.

:50:24. > :50:37.That is a good example of Lajovic targeting the Edmund forehand. If he

:50:38. > :50:52.can go in early, early in the point, to the Edmund forehand.

:50:53. > :51:03.I think Edmund isn't sure that that... It is out. It looked a bit

:51:04. > :51:26.I think Edmund isn't sure that unsure.

:51:27. > :51:52.Just pushing beyond the baseline that... It

:51:53. > :51:54.Just pushing beyond the baseline there and it gives Edmund another

:51:55. > :52:34.break-point. Second game in a row. Early stages in this best of

:52:35. > :52:40.five-set Davis Cup match. This looks promising. There's Janko Tipsarevic,

:52:41. > :52:55.who lost to Edmund on the first day of this tie.

:52:56. > :53:04.This is a man who only made his Davis Cup debut at the end of last

:53:05. > :53:08.year, in the final, in Belgium, acquitted himself really well, for

:53:09. > :54:17.two sets especially. Stormed into the lead against David Goffin.

:54:18. > :54:28.It's a far more erratic Dusan Lajovic than we saw yesterday. To

:54:29. > :55:19.Kyle Edmund's credit... Game points for a 5-2 lead first set.

:55:20. > :55:34.Nasty to come through in all sorts of

:55:35. > :55:40.Nasty Edmund, this is the future for

:55:41. > :55:41.Nasty Murray stays around for many years

:55:42. > :55:47.leading Murray stays around for many years

:55:48. > :56:07.So far, all you can say is, it is Murray stays around for many years

:56:08. > :56:14.to get to Edmund, to get through Murray stays around for many years

:56:15. > :56:19.Edmund looks so confident out there, even on

:56:20. > :56:19.Edmund looks so confident out there, forehand, but how many errors has he

:56:20. > :56:25.made off forehand, but how many errors has he

:56:26. > :56:33.the line back to Lajovic's forehand, to get

:56:34. > :56:47.Andy Murray, Kyle Edmund, Jamie start by

:56:48. > :57:04.Unless something goes very wrong for Murray, Dom

:57:05. > :58:20.Unless something goes very wrong for Murray over

:58:21. > :58:28.It's taken him a little while to get going. Look at that, front-foot

:58:29. > :58:41.cover drive. Beautiful. Still leading by a break. It gives

:58:42. > :59:29.Kyle Edmund the chance to serve for the first set.

:59:30. > :59:41.That's so impressive. Misses a forehand, snatched at it, and that

:59:42. > :59:44.one was deeper than the one he missed on the first point, then had

:59:45. > :59:46.the courage to go for it. No doubt in his mind he was going to hit a

:59:47. > :00:15.winner from that position. That is going to be the worrying

:00:16. > :00:20.thing for Lajovic, that looked like that change of pace what is worked

:00:21. > :00:23.so well against James Ward, if he doesn't get great length, he is

:00:24. > :00:32.going to get killed by the Edmund forehand. Oh! Twice in a row on

:00:33. > :00:41.clay! Very decent work from Kyle Edmund to close out the first set.

:00:42. > :00:50.And Britain edge one set closer to another Davis Cup semi-final. Really

:00:51. > :00:59.good work from Kyle Edmund who, has not looked overawe at all in his

:01:00. > :01:03.Davis Cup career. He steppeded out against Goffin was beating him

:01:04. > :01:07.thoroughly for two sets and the Goffin come back was inevitable. But

:01:08. > :01:15.this is a young man who just looks right at home in this environment.

:01:16. > :01:22.And he made less errors when he gets his first serve n he is winning 93%

:01:23. > :01:27.of the points. Two aces. The winners are a joke. He is absolutely taking

:01:28. > :01:32.apart a good player in a match that you know he needs to win for us to

:01:33. > :01:35.win this tie, because the fifth match certainly is at best 50/50 at

:01:36. > :01:50.best, being generous there. Here are some of the lie hittings of

:01:51. > :01:57.first - lie heights of first accept. He is so adept at sliding into the

:01:58. > :02:03.balls. Every time the players switch surfaces across the year it is a

:02:04. > :02:11.test in its own right. So if you haven't been with us so far on this

:02:12. > :02:20.Davis Cup you will have missed one of the most entertaining moments,

:02:21. > :02:27.these interset highlights created by the people at Serbian television.

:02:28. > :02:31.You notice the dramatic music. Where is our next point coming from. The

:02:32. > :02:36.rising strings, Jamie Baker, will suggest that Britain are firmly in

:02:37. > :02:46.charge and Edmund just needs to keep this up. Yes. He does just need to

:02:47. > :02:51.keep this up. It has been an amazing start. It look like the British team

:02:52. > :02:56.have done their homework well from the start. He has been right up on

:02:57. > :03:46.the baseline not giving Lajovic the opportunity.

:03:47. > :03:54.We can see with the amount of errors he made in the first set, Lajovic,

:03:55. > :04:01.he is having to go out of his comfort zone Maik the Claymore than

:04:02. > :04:36.he normally does. This is so good. Just the weight of

:04:37. > :04:43.shot again. It is just impressive again. It is not getting that ball,

:04:44. > :04:48.OK in terms of where it was, but this one just sits and he has plenty

:04:49. > :05:03.of time, can go either way and that pace on that forehand.

:05:04. > :05:09.It is lovely when you're in a position at the end of the set for

:05:10. > :05:12.Leon Smith, where you don't have to say anything. Just keep on doing

:05:13. > :06:03.what you're doing. Tactically spot on.

:06:04. > :06:09.That is the other thing, seeing Janko Tipsarevic in the background

:06:10. > :06:14.watching this match. That shows there is a decent chance that if

:06:15. > :06:19.Serbia wins, he may not play the last rubber. Generally if you're

:06:20. > :06:24.playing in the fifth match, you may stick around for a few games and

:06:25. > :06:32.then you rest. That to me indicates there might be a change in the fifth

:06:33. > :06:36.match. Not the best preparations sitting out in the rain and the

:06:37. > :06:50.cold, is it? He had a pint of something yesterday! It was a new

:06:51. > :06:53.training method! No sign of James Ward either at courtside. There is a

:06:54. > :06:59.man who is going to be willing Kyle Edmund on as well. I do not think

:07:00. > :07:03.Ward wants to come out again and play on this court. He didn't enjoy

:07:04. > :07:06.the experience of yesterday. Found it very heavy. Not to his liking at

:07:07. > :08:06.I think all.

:08:07. > :08:37.Again the weight of shot from the forehand down the line

:08:38. > :08:44.Again the weight of shot from the back of the court - do not

:08:45. > :08:48.underestimate how good this is, the timing, the rotation, everything it

:08:49. > :08:49.takes to get that ball to move off this heavy surface and just beat the

:08:50. > :09:13.opponent for pace. What a serve I was thinking back to

:09:14. > :09:18.the French Open where the conditions were sort of similar to this really.

:09:19. > :09:22.Very heavy, a lot of rain. How many people did you see, players that

:09:23. > :09:26.could hit winners from these positions with the heavy balls there

:09:27. > :09:53.- not many that I remember at the French.

:09:54. > :10:00.Such a bonus to have a serve like that, Jamie, that can win you three

:10:01. > :10:04.points, you don't get anywhere near as many free points on this surface

:10:05. > :10:10.as others? Specially in these conditions. That has been the most

:10:11. > :10:16.surprising element of match so far is how many kind of if not just free

:10:17. > :10:20.points Edmunds has got off his first point, but genuinely short balls

:10:21. > :12:12.where he can properly take advantage on the second shot.

:12:13. > :12:21.There is an interesting ensemble on the second shot.

:12:22. > :12:42.There is an interesting ensemble cushion band. The horns are not

:12:43. > :12:45.There is an interesting ensemble teams get asked what music they want

:12:46. > :12:51.played when they come on. I wonder if the Serbian play verse chosen

:12:52. > :12:59.this -- players have chosen this for the change of ends. There is a hint

:13:00. > :13:03.of Eurovision about it! Well hopefully the weather is nicer

:13:04. > :13:09.wherever you are watching this with us on BBC1 than it is out in

:13:10. > :13:12.Belgrade. If Edmund does get this job done quickly. There might be a

:13:13. > :13:18.chance for you to be inspired and get out there and play a bit of

:13:19. > :13:24.tennis this afternoon. It is the great British tennis weekend where a

:13:25. > :13:38.number of clubs open their doors for free. Check it out online.

:13:39. > :13:46.That to me, you have got to start standing in closer on that service

:13:47. > :13:50.return, particularly on the second serve. That one he is so far back

:13:51. > :13:56.and he hits the ball straight in the middle of the court and right away

:13:57. > :14:20.Edmunds takes Chang of the Ralls -- charge of the rallies.

:14:21. > :14:27.He is a very patient player, Kyle Edmund. Yes, but the way he plays

:14:28. > :14:31.and the way he can hurt opponents, it is very clear what he has to

:14:32. > :14:37.focus on. I think we mentioned about his backhand, that is one of his

:14:38. > :14:50.major areas he has improved. He is so patient on that side. Oh! That

:14:51. > :14:59.was a bit of luck for Lajovic. An example of that, Jaimy, although his

:15:00. > :15:03.backhand is better. Roddick was the same thing, the liability was a

:15:04. > :15:35.backhand if he had to pass, but from the baseline it was consistent.

:15:36. > :15:43.Oh! What a demonstration of the forehand! Five in a row from Kyle

:15:44. > :15:47.Edmund. I was just thinking that as he played them and they were all

:15:48. > :15:51.different. Every single forehand he played was different in that rally.

:15:52. > :15:59.Great variety and look at this final one to finish the job. Wow! The

:16:00. > :16:18.acceleration there, racket head speed is just awesome.

:16:19. > :16:27.That one he forgot to move his feet, Kyle Edmund. You can see, doesn't

:16:28. > :17:05.get out of the way of the ball there and he had plenty of time.

:17:06. > :17:18.This is an indication of state of court, that ball, no bounce at all.

:17:19. > :17:19.Picked up so much clay. He almost needed the pitching wedge for that

:17:20. > :18:09.one. What was Lajovic trying on the

:18:10. > :18:13.return? Was that in my coaching manual you have read? I was looking

:18:14. > :18:19.at that, he shifted to his backhand side and then he took about two

:18:20. > :18:21.steps back. He ended up almost hitting the line judge with his back

:18:22. > :18:41.swing! There is the British support cast.

:18:42. > :18:48.Andy Murray in the middle of your picture seated. The coaches to the

:18:49. > :18:55.left. And Matt Little. The strength and conditioning coach. Cheerleader

:18:56. > :19:08.No 1. One of unsung heroes of Murray's Wimbledon win last Sunday.

:19:09. > :19:22.Was it only a week ago? There is potentially a new British hero here.

:19:23. > :19:31.Great tennis! How well did Edmund do chasing up to the net to put that

:19:32. > :19:36.lob up? It shows how hard it is to put the ball away. The lob could

:19:37. > :19:39.have been better from Lajovic. But what a chase from Edmund. Two bites

:19:40. > :20:11.at the cherry on the smash. That was such a good illustration of

:20:12. > :20:15.the difference between the two, that return, Edmund's return floated and

:20:16. > :20:20.Lajovic, whether he is unwilling or unable to hit the same sort of speed

:20:21. > :20:21.on the forehand. But Edmund had what opportunity and he is hitting

:20:22. > :21:24.winners. Another chance there. I think he

:21:25. > :21:25.thought the ball was going to come to him, because he was there in

:21:26. > :21:57.time. Pity. That is just so good. So good, the

:21:58. > :22:02.one backhand down his line was the one that put him in a good position,

:22:03. > :22:07.where again the difference of speed, even on this backhand side it goes

:22:08. > :22:09.through court so much faster. And that angle he got on that forehand,

:22:10. > :23:14.awesome. A lovely ark on that forehand down

:23:15. > :23:19.the line. He tried that in the previous game, but just missed it.

:23:20. > :23:21.He had a bit of air to kill the ball. His second break point in the

:23:22. > :24:11.game. Lfs a call tr somewhere. -- there

:24:12. > :24:15.was a call from somewhere. That forehand from Edmund was definitely

:24:16. > :24:19.on the line. The line judge said so. There was a call of fault or out

:24:20. > :24:24.from somewhere. We don't know where. But Edmund is clearly going to

:24:25. > :24:32.protest this. You can hear what the crowd think. But that should really,

:24:33. > :24:34.if the umpire heard it, be a let. But it looks like it isn't going to

:24:35. > :24:51.be. The fact he is complaining about it

:24:52. > :24:55.shows how he knows he was put off by hearing that call. I think we all

:24:56. > :25:02.looked around and thought was that called out? I think the umpire will

:25:03. > :25:08.give them a warning if it happens again. I imagine that is what he

:25:09. > :25:09.will do. It is tough to change the point around when it happens the

:25:10. > :25:28.first time. Ladies and gentlemen we can you not

:25:29. > :25:34.to call out during the play in respect to both players. That wasn't

:25:35. > :25:39.strong enough. No. That needs to let them know the next time it happens

:25:40. > :25:45.they might get a point deducted. Exactly. Does that count as an

:25:46. > :25:47.official warning? That was just a public service announcement. It

:25:48. > :27:02.didn't sound like it! He is working hard, Kyle Edmund.

:27:03. > :27:08.Some He is working hard, Kyle Edmund.

:27:09. > :27:16.interesting to see if Leon Smith goes up

:27:17. > :27:23.interesting to see if Leon Smith them a penalty point. That public

:27:24. > :27:36.please don't, it is like saying don't

:27:37. > :27:36.please don't, it is like saying refreshment and merchandise are

:27:37. > :27:43.available by gate B. refreshment and merchandise are

:27:44. > :27:54.think, its was a very clear call and it

:27:55. > :28:00.think, its was a very clear call and the first time it happened, there

:28:01. > :28:08.a let. He may have been forced out of the chair by

:28:09. > :28:18.a let. He may have been forced out Davis Cup matches it is part of

:28:19. > :28:18.a let. He may have been forced out call is unnecessary. Especially as

:28:19. > :28:27.it call is unnecessary. Especially as

:28:28. > :29:34.from behind him. It wasn't anyone There is a cell phone going off

:29:35. > :30:09.isn't it? So good. Taking that ball opt rise

:30:10. > :30:14.again, Edmund, just giving his opponent no time to recover. I would

:30:15. > :30:19.be surprised if Lajovic doesn't start to bring Kyle Edmunds in a bit

:30:20. > :30:22.with that short backhand angle. He has had a bit of success wit. Try

:30:23. > :30:34.and change it up a bit and change the pattern.

:30:35. > :30:43.The winners of this quarterfinal, I can tell you, will play Argentina in

:30:44. > :30:47.the semifinals. I will give you more details at the end of this game.

:30:48. > :30:57.Argentina have beaten Italy away from home. That will be Murray

:30:58. > :31:30.versus Del Potro. Nice. Edmund was waiting for a call which

:31:31. > :32:13.never came. A rally with some twists and turns

:32:14. > :32:17.there. He had recovered quite well after the initial hesitation of not

:32:18. > :32:21.taking the ball out of the air. It is break-point Serbia for the first

:32:22. > :32:24.time in the match. That point had everything. I was about to say what

:32:25. > :32:28.a great move it was from Edmund to come in. Lajovic managed to get

:32:29. > :32:59.enough height on it to provoke that hesitation.

:33:00. > :33:06.UMPIRE: Out. Good call, umpire. It was out. The

:33:07. > :33:09.line judge was unsighted there by Kyle Edmund, who was moving across.

:33:10. > :33:26.You will see it here. What is so impressive is the pace he

:33:27. > :34:33.can generate from no pace. Really good recovery from Kyle

:34:34. > :34:38.Edmund, from break-point down, three points in a row and he played some

:34:39. > :34:43.excellent tennis to level up at 3-3 in the second set. Serbia-Great

:34:44. > :34:46.Britain, Davis Cup quarterfinal, for the right to play Argentina in the

:34:47. > :34:57.semifinals. Fognini the Italian number one did

:34:58. > :35:09.have set-points to take that to a deciding set. But Argentina are

:35:10. > :35:14.through again. Juan Martin Del Potro only played the doubles in that.

:35:15. > :35:18.Some thought he was being saved for a potential fifth rubber. I'm sure

:35:19. > :35:24.he will play everything in the semis. That is the match-up that we

:35:25. > :35:28.want to see in this competition. What is the point in these big

:35:29. > :35:33.nations meeting if we don't get to see the big players? Of course, that

:35:34. > :35:37.is what it is all about. We want to see the number ones. He's definitely

:35:38. > :35:44.not going to play the fifth match if there is a fifth match, if he is

:35:45. > :35:48.still sitting here watching. That would suggest it will be Filip

:35:49. > :35:53.Krajinovic, who came in for the doubles yesterday. Hasn't played a

:35:54. > :37:34.singles match since losing to Edmund in May, in the Challenger in Rome.

:37:35. > :37:49.Look at the short-arm jab of a return there from Edmund. Setting

:37:50. > :38:13.him up for the point. Taking it early. Surprising Lajovic.

:38:14. > :39:35.Good aggression from Kyle Edmund and he is a break up in the second set.

:39:36. > :39:45.Terrific work. Britain aims for that semifinal, which would be at home to

:39:46. > :39:50.Argentina. That is because in 2008 we headed out to South America, we

:39:51. > :39:55.stocked up on large quantities of Argentinian beef, and we watched an

:39:56. > :39:59.entertaining tie that Jamie Baker you were part of. What were your

:40:00. > :40:04.memories of that last British match against Argentina? It was an amazing

:40:05. > :40:10.experience. The only match I have played in the World Group. It was

:40:11. > :40:23.the first live rubber I have played, opening up against a guy who was not

:40:24. > :40:32.bad, David Nalbandian. That was on clay. Then even though the tie was

:40:33. > :40:37.over, you came out on the final day and won? That was probably one of my

:40:38. > :40:43.best wins. That is the only home match he lost on clay. Not sure he

:40:44. > :40:48.would be proud of that one. I can't call myself a clay-court specialist!

:40:49. > :40:55.That was interesting. Andy Murray had stayed at home. He decided not

:40:56. > :41:05.to travel. It was a time when Andy and Jamie were not as good buddies

:41:06. > :41:10.as they are now. Jamie Murray you are talking about? Yes. I don't

:41:11. > :41:12.think Jamie Murray was the greatest fan of Andy's decision to miss that

:41:13. > :41:43.tie. Water under the bridge now. When you watch this, any sort of

:41:44. > :41:49.neutral ball from Lajovic is getting punished. He is not used to playing

:41:50. > :41:53.people like that. He manoeuvres the ball around. If he is not very

:41:54. > :42:05.precise with his first return, the point is almost over.

:42:06. > :42:12.He tried to hit extra spin on that backhand, get it as deep as he

:42:13. > :42:14.could, went to the backhand of Edmund and Edmund still hit a big

:42:15. > :43:29.shot and got him in trouble again. That was right on the line from

:43:30. > :44:35.Lajovic. He still believes. You can see it.

:44:36. > :44:41.Kyle Edmund has faced one break-point and he hasn't lost his

:44:42. > :44:46.serve yet. In these conditions, where return could have more of an

:44:47. > :44:51.upper hand, that is really impressive. Very impressive. I was

:44:52. > :44:56.studying what Lajovic was doing on that return and it was too

:44:57. > :45:00.predictable. Kyle knows he's not... He is going to stay far behind the

:45:01. > :45:02.baseline on the second-serve return and he knows he gets a shot off that

:45:03. > :48:19.first ball. It is a showreel from Kyle Edmund!

:48:20. > :48:23.What a point this was. So patient. This type of shot, where he was in

:48:24. > :48:26.big trouble there, being pushed out that wide, and then that ferocious

:48:27. > :48:49.pace. What a forehand! So close.

:48:50. > :48:54.There's Jamie Murray. Played his part yesterday alongside Dom Inglot.

:48:55. > :48:58.Great for him to get a win on the board in his Davis Cup career. Who

:48:59. > :49:13.is he? Well played again. Stepping up the

:49:14. > :49:19.court, it is good to see. This is what you do when you sense a man is

:49:20. > :49:23.down. It is uninhibited hitting from Edmund on the forehand wing. That is

:49:24. > :49:26.what is so impressive. You can't swing your racket that fast if you

:49:27. > :50:06.are not that relaxed. Lajovic did well there. He was in

:50:07. > :50:11.big trouble. He came up with a couple of fantastic defensive shots.

:50:12. > :50:16.Edmund went for a bit too much on that last ball. I thought he had it

:50:17. > :51:05.won on that forehand, but this was excellent recovery.

:51:06. > :51:11.A very good job from Lajovic to extend this set. Edmund is a break

:51:12. > :51:18.up and has a chance to serve for a two sets to love lead, right now,

:51:19. > :51:22.after this change of ends. Again, we talk about the obvious assets that

:51:23. > :51:27.he possesses, the serve, the forehand, it is a solid backhand.

:51:28. > :51:31.There is also the variety. We saw a couple of times in that game, he is

:51:32. > :51:36.not afraid to go with the slice as an aggressive weapon as well as a

:51:37. > :51:40.defensive tool. This is why he plays better and enjoys playing on the

:51:41. > :51:44.clay more because the clay gives him more time to use that variety. We

:51:45. > :51:48.have seen he's defended his forehand corner so well in this match. It is

:51:49. > :51:52.because he can hit different paces, different spins, his slice in the

:51:53. > :51:57.last couple of games particularly, that is as well as I have seen him

:51:58. > :52:03.hit. So very impressive. On the point of a quicker court, he doesn't

:52:04. > :52:08.get the time to use that variety and that is where his movement, which on

:52:09. > :52:15.faster courts is not as good as the rest of his game, can get exposed.

:52:16. > :52:19.Not every young British player over the years has enjoyed the clay-court

:52:20. > :52:22.experience? No. It's not been a surface that we have been

:52:23. > :52:30.particularly good at. Does that bode well? It bodes extremely well. Andy

:52:31. > :52:34.Murray loves it now as well. This is such an impressive... These are the

:52:35. > :52:36.games I look forward to watching, a pressure game like this. How is he

:52:37. > :53:05.going to react here? That's tremendous play. He was put

:53:06. > :53:10.under a lot of pressure in that rally. He looks so solid from the

:53:11. > :53:16.back of the court. The thing now is, when you watch him, you expect him

:53:17. > :53:21.to hit a winner, or an almost unreturnable. He has that look about

:53:22. > :53:25.him. Lajovic, at the moment, he can't find a way to get through to

:53:26. > :53:38.the British player. He's been pegged back all the time.

:53:39. > :53:47.He is making those short balls look easy. In these conditions, they are

:53:48. > :53:51.anything but easy. Lajovic has given that, which is good sportsmanship.

:53:52. > :53:56.The umpire didn't need to make the journey over. Leon Smith thanking

:53:57. > :55:11.him for that. Two points away from the set.

:55:12. > :55:18.That mis-hit backhand return brings up two set-points for Kyle Edmund,

:55:19. > :55:18.from Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

:55:19. > :55:54.UMPIRE: Let, first serve. All the time you look for clues in a

:55:55. > :56:00.young player's development and again there on set-point, not disturbed at

:56:01. > :56:06.all by that let call, firing down the serve that wins it. 1 hour 28

:56:07. > :56:10.minutes and that scoreboard makes very good reading from a British

:56:11. > :56:18.point of view. It means Britain are just one set away now from a place

:56:19. > :56:25.in the semifinals of the Davis Cup. It's a fantastic performance so far.

:56:26. > :56:30.It's outstanding. He's taken the game to the Serbian number three.

:56:31. > :56:33.And looking at those first two sets, the only thing really that can

:56:34. > :56:38.happen here is if the physicality comes into it, if somehow Lajovic

:56:39. > :56:43.manages to get back in this match. I don't think that will be a problem.

:56:44. > :56:47.He doesn't have, at the moment, the game to hurt Kyle Edmund. I can't

:56:48. > :57:05.see where the points are going to come from. We hope this latest

:57:06. > :57:08.edition of the highlights reel features more Kyle Edmund than Dusan

:57:09. > :57:15.Lajovic. That open-stance forehand... Don't worry about the

:57:16. > :57:19.prowess of the drumming, but that forehand shot from Edmund is the

:57:20. > :57:25.outstanding shot of the weekend so far. I hope no-one suffers from

:57:26. > :57:28.motion sickness watching this! The British supporters have played their

:57:29. > :57:34.part. 300 of them have made the trip to Belgrade, many of them on a

:57:35. > :57:38.hugely entertaining road trip across Europe and the weather hasn't been

:57:39. > :57:48.great. They have enjoyed their weekend and Leon Smith here hoping

:57:49. > :57:53.for his 14th win out of 16 ties as captain. It's been an incredible

:57:54. > :57:56.record since he's took over. They are the reigning champions and who

:57:57. > :58:02.is to say they can't win back-to-back Davis Cups. This man

:58:03. > :58:08.will be back for the semifinals. Argentina will be visiting British

:58:09. > :58:13.shores. Will that be indoors, perhaps back in Glasgow, perhaps at

:58:14. > :58:18.the O2 Arena, maybe at Wimbledon? We shall have to wait and see.

:58:19. > :58:22.Argentina have beaten Italy 3-1. France have beaten the Czech

:58:23. > :58:37.Republic 3-1. France are through to the semis. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

:58:38. > :58:42.winning through today. It is shaping up really nicely, Jamie. What a

:58:43. > :58:47.final that would be, France against Great Britain... In France! That

:58:48. > :58:51.would be in France, of course. As would a match against the USA. Hang

:58:52. > :58:57.on, we are talking about potential finals here. Something has gone

:58:58. > :59:07.wrong! We would be away to the USA, but Britain would be at home to

:59:08. > :59:15.Croatia. That is something to think about potentially for November. Kyle

:59:16. > :59:21.Edmund, we should put this note of caution out there, was leading two

:59:22. > :59:28.sets to love in the final last year. He couldn't hold on to the lead on

:59:29. > :59:33.that occasion. That was David Goffin, a top 20 player. He had

:59:34. > :59:36.underperformed for two sets, by his standards. This time, will it be

:59:37. > :00:57.different? This is such a course that Dusan

:00:58. > :01:01.Lajovic has to win not just to keep himself in this match, but his

:01:02. > :01:08.nation in the tie over all the a whole competition. Just a little bit

:01:09. > :01:14.of pressure on his shoulders. He is the Serbian No 3. It is not only

:01:15. > :01:20.Novak Djokovic who is not here. Viktor Troicki has missed the tie.

:01:21. > :01:26.They both played against Kazakhstan in the last match. That was an

:01:27. > :01:32.interesting tie, they had to come from 2-1 down to beat the Ca Zaks.

:01:33. > :01:34.Djokovic was 2-1 down in sets in the fourth rubber. But they sealed the

:01:35. > :01:54.tie in the end. It was the same weekend as Britain

:01:55. > :02:00.beat Japan in Birmingham with that classic Murray/Nishikori match. That

:02:01. > :03:41.will probably go down as one of the matches of the year.

:03:42. > :03:50.That is another big point and Kyle Edmund not hesitating again with

:03:51. > :04:08.that forehand. Short return and it is the same result every time.

:04:09. > :04:19.Again gets it down from 0-30. He is so on a level, no ups and downs, if

:04:20. > :04:24.he does have a bad couple of minutes, it is only lasting one,

:04:25. > :04:30.maybe two points. It is not lasting a game or a string of games. He is

:04:31. > :04:35.very composed. I was saying at the start, he is very focussed on the

:04:36. > :04:39.process and that is where the Great Britain Davis Cup team, everyone

:04:40. > :04:57.there, they're so good at preparing the players.

:04:58. > :05:02.But don't forget this is not something that just happens during

:05:03. > :05:07.the Davis Cup. It is the product of a player who is very profession and

:05:08. > :05:09.and goes about his business every day and established himself in the

:05:10. > :05:41.top 100. We haven't seen enough of that

:05:42. > :05:45.backhand so far today, have we? And credit for that, Jamie, has to

:05:46. > :05:48.shared by the player and the coaches he has worked with. Many will be

:05:49. > :05:59.watching. Greg Rusedsk, Colin Beacher. They

:06:00. > :07:07.have all played their part in developing this young talent.

:07:08. > :07:12.Time for a few more court repairs after just three games of set.

:07:13. > :07:20.Hopefully from a British point of view, not too many games left and

:07:21. > :07:24.then it will be onwards and upwards. Amazing, John, they have managed to

:07:25. > :07:29.play without interruption. It looks like the worst of rain may have

:07:30. > :07:33.headed further afield for now. Yes, it basically, it has not stopped for

:07:34. > :07:37.the first two sets. On any other surface and they would be in

:07:38. > :07:45.trouble. But on the clay you can get away wit. Kyle Edmund has played

:07:46. > :07:50.five sets of tennis in the rain, where four days ago it was 35

:07:51. > :07:53.degrees. Changing racket tension and these things have changed within 48

:07:54. > :07:58.hours. Remarkable. But he has loved it. I think he would like to play

:07:59. > :08:06.more rainy conditions. If he keeps playing like this. I'm sure a lot of

:08:07. > :08:12.that blue you see on the left of the picture, is the GB fans, I'm sure a

:08:13. > :08:18.lot are Scottish. You will have to give us some heavier rain to upset

:08:19. > :08:23.them I tell you. A good point about the string tension. John Dalton

:08:24. > :08:27.would have been busy, he is the string hear the travels with the

:08:28. > :08:41.British team. They have every base covered in the support staff.

:08:42. > :08:49.Physios out with the team. A nutritionist. Video analyst. A

:08:50. > :09:20.Wimbledon champion! He put some good stuff op Twitter,

:09:21. > :09:26.because the full team hadn't arrived, because of the Wimbledon

:09:27. > :09:31.final and Andy Murray being involved with the strap line, how many

:09:32. > :10:59.support staff does it take to organise a doubles players practice?

:11:00. > :11:12.It is just supersolid. But Lajovic so predictable. Why he has not tried

:11:13. > :11:17.to take it earlier. He has been looping the ball and unless he hits

:11:18. > :11:21.it perfectly, Edmunds steps around the forehand and he is right away

:11:22. > :11:26.defending. It has happened so many times, it is difficult if you're --

:11:27. > :11:28.your player doesn't have those shots in your game, you have to change it

:11:29. > :11:54.and do something different. We haven't seen much of the coach

:11:55. > :11:59.over the weekend. He seems to be sitting there quite relaxed. When it

:12:00. > :12:37.is almost now or never time for Serbia.

:12:38. > :12:48.It is just so good. When was the last time he made what you describe

:12:49. > :13:00.as a really bad miss. It is hard to remember. It is just almost nothing.

:13:01. > :13:11.He has been stingy. There we go! We had to say that!

:13:12. > :13:18.Can first serve returns be described as misses? I suppose. We'll let him

:13:19. > :13:36.off! That shot is the shot, the backhand

:13:37. > :13:45.of Lajovic that we thought would be a big weapon after the James Ward

:13:46. > :13:49.match. This one here, it just hasn't materialised, he hasn't gone wide or

:13:50. > :14:23.deep enough and he gets punished. It's happened so many times now.

:14:24. > :14:34.Oh! How did he make that volley, Lajovic? Break point down! That to

:14:35. > :14:40.me, it is a wonderful point from both players, but the difference is

:14:41. > :14:44.Lajovic was in command, that whole rally, on the baseline, but really

:14:45. > :14:50.couldn't put the ball away. Eventually he won the point. Kyle

:14:51. > :14:57.Edmund has been keeping the rallies shorter. When he gets the strike

:14:58. > :15:00.area around the baseline he does serious damage on the first punch

:15:01. > :15:18.and Lajovic doesn't have that in his game.

:15:19. > :15:32.It stayed in. Stayed in off the net caught. Not sure it was even off the

:15:33. > :15:38.net caught. Oh, an agonising change of direction. Edmund can't believe

:15:39. > :15:42.it. But look at him. Look how solid mentally he is. Huge frustration,

:15:43. > :16:22.but it is already in the past. You love that if you're captain if

:16:23. > :16:27.you're two sets down and he shows that sort of reaction holding on to

:16:28. > :16:32.his serve and you love to see that fight and that transmits around the

:16:33. > :16:36.court and sends a message out to Kyle Edmund that I'm still in this

:16:37. > :16:47.match. You have got to put me away. You love to see that. In terms of

:16:48. > :16:51.tactical changes, what would you do, Jamie, if you were in Lajovic's

:16:52. > :16:59.situation and had to resort to a plan B. I'm always looking to see

:17:00. > :17:04.which player, what do players have where they can win multiple points

:17:05. > :17:09.over and again. The best of five-set matcheses is long. We have seen from

:17:10. > :17:18.Kyle Edmund, the forehand, how can he get into positions where he wins.

:17:19. > :17:22.He has won 20, 30 points. Most have been free winners. But with Lajovic,

:17:23. > :17:29.I'm struggling to see where he is going to win multiple points from. I

:17:30. > :17:34.agree, you feel it is in Kyle Edmund's hands, the only way is if

:17:35. > :17:36.there is a let down a concentration, a physical side, something like

:17:37. > :17:42.that. That is the only way it looks like. Buzz it doesn't look --

:17:43. > :17:44.because it doesn't look like he has anything in his game to trouble Kyle

:17:45. > :17:56.Edmund. That is just a fantastic forehand.

:17:57. > :18:05.He did nothing wrong in that point. This was a good backhand and how do

:18:06. > :18:06.you get that Ang snl O -- angle? He has done that so often today.

:18:07. > :18:27.Brilliant. Two in a row! Impossible to defend

:18:28. > :18:32.against. Because there is no way you can cover across to that corner,

:18:33. > :18:37.because he can just as easily go down the line on the other hand. It

:18:38. > :18:44.just so happens it is working so well cross-court, that why change?

:18:45. > :18:49.But why not stand two or three feet closer to the serve, especially on

:18:50. > :18:54.the kicker and take it earlier and give Edmunds less time to get ready

:18:55. > :19:01.for that forehand. He has been redictable where he -- predictable

:19:02. > :19:04.where he stands, he has not broken Edmunds once. He is moving up a bit.

:19:05. > :19:17.Then going back. That maybe the first sliced return

:19:18. > :19:24.we have seen in the whole match. It is the first point where haez

:19:25. > :19:28.stepped up. The point about him stand ing so far back. Even if he

:19:29. > :19:33.hits the down the line return from that far back, Kyle can get to that.

:19:34. > :19:34.In his mind can he already camp over in the backhand side waiting for the

:19:35. > :19:53.forehand. That is a bit more aggressive that,

:19:54. > :19:59.sliced backhand, why not use that more in the rallies? The looping

:20:00. > :20:06.backhand that obviously that is his favourite shot, has been almost no

:20:07. > :20:07.use. Why not slice and change it up. Every second shot try a slice and

:20:08. > :20:52.try and change the rhythm of Edmund. Just the single break of serve for

:20:53. > :20:59.Edmund in both sets one and two, it came in the sixth game of first set,

:21:00. > :21:02.the seventh of the second set. And with Lajovic serving first in this

:21:03. > :21:09.set, here we are again at the seventh game. Edmund might just have

:21:10. > :21:11.to retape that right index finger. We have seen that causing him a bit

:21:12. > :21:39.of bother. No surprise at all if Edmund were to

:21:40. > :21:42.choose this seventh game to step it up and get what surely would be a

:21:43. > :22:06.decisive break. Perhaps some of that eagerness to

:22:07. > :22:10.finish the job showing. You mentioned errors a few games ago,

:22:11. > :22:11.that is the first one where he has been inside the court and not taken

:22:12. > :22:31.advantage. That has been the shot of Davis Cup

:22:32. > :22:38.of this tie. That inside out forehand. This is, I don't know how

:22:39. > :22:40.many winners he has hit in that position, but it has been too many

:22:41. > :23:07.to count. It has been brilliant. There was a case of Lajovic forcing

:23:08. > :23:10.to go for shots now that doesn't really want to go for, but he almost

:23:11. > :23:41.has no choice in his mind. He was a bit annoyed for about two

:23:42. > :24:49.seconds and then right away - back to business!

:24:50. > :24:56.The reactions at the net after trying to bluff Lajovic by going

:24:57. > :24:58.down the line with the forehand. He will get a third chance to break in

:24:59. > :25:55.this game. So impressive. So impressive. Two

:25:56. > :26:05.sets and now a break of serve and Britain - this thanks to Kyle

:26:06. > :26:09.Edmund, two games away. He was up 15-40 and had a couple of wobbles.

:26:10. > :26:13.Missed a second serve return and then the feet didn't move on his

:26:14. > :26:19.backhand. You thought he is looking too far ahead to the finishing line

:26:20. > :26:25.and then he readjusted, played a couple of fab lose points --

:26:26. > :26:31.fabulous points. Look how calm Murray is there, to the lefts he

:26:32. > :26:42.left of the screen. He knows his man has got this in the can.

:26:43. > :26:48.Normal think would be a bit of -- normally there would be a bit of

:26:49. > :26:52.stress, coaches and players on their feet, trying to get a few messages

:26:53. > :26:58.around. But he has done everything right. It is the preparation -

:26:59. > :27:02.everybody knows Edmund has been prepared perfectly. The tactics are

:27:03. > :27:08.right, the physical fitness is right and so far the execution is right on

:27:09. > :27:11.the court as well. Yes I know it is a cliche, but you control the things

:27:12. > :27:15.that you can control. That is what it is about. They will be on the

:27:16. > :27:20.bench relaxed and comfortable, because Edmund has shown no sign of

:27:21. > :27:31.deviating from that prepared path if you like. All they need is your

:27:32. > :27:35.brother's baseball cap, John. That is what he used to wear on the

:27:36. > :28:06.bench. Did he ever have a suit like that? No, thank goodness!

:28:07. > :28:22.That drop shot has not been very good. Played a fabulous point to get

:28:23. > :28:27.himself into this position, Lajovic, and then I think Kyle would have got

:28:28. > :28:57.that any way. He made it too obvious.

:28:58. > :29:02.That is the added bonus when you're so efficient with your attacking

:29:03. > :29:07.play, the impact it has on the player down the other end. That is

:29:08. > :29:43.just a direct result of him, Lajovic, trying to do too much.

:29:44. > :29:51.That is impressive, break of serve in the seventh game. Love service

:29:52. > :29:57.game hold in the eighth. Just faced a single break point. He has held

:29:58. > :30:03.his serve throughout. And now just a game away if he can break here.

:30:04. > :31:31.Lajovic serving to stay in the match.

:31:32. > :31:38.I think we can safely predict we can all settle in for many years of

:31:39. > :31:43.watching this young man from Yorkshire playing tennis on our

:31:44. > :31:48.televisions for a considerable time. Let's hope so. He's 67 in the world

:31:49. > :31:55.already. That is a career high. He's very much on the rise. On this

:31:56. > :32:00.evidence, well definitely a top 50 player. Makes you wonder how much

:32:01. > :32:05.higher. Potential to go where, John? I look at the way he is playing

:32:06. > :32:12.here. I look top 20, top 10, possibly. There are other surfaces.

:32:13. > :32:17.Just the weapons he has in his game, the control, mentally, that he's had

:32:18. > :32:22.in a huge match. Just over two hours and he's come out here and he's been

:32:23. > :32:26.dominating against a decent clay-court player and it looked like

:32:27. > :32:30.this was a regulation match for him. It's been a fantastic display so

:32:31. > :32:37.far. He has to close this game out, obviously. Leon will be saying one

:32:38. > :32:54.point at a time, don't rush. Take your time. Five years ago, Kyle

:32:55. > :32:57.Edmund won the Junior Davis Cup. It is an illustration of how well Kyle

:32:58. > :33:28.Edmund has done to push on from that to get to where he is right now.

:33:29. > :33:34.One of Lajovic's best points of the match. Exactly. Edmund did nothing

:33:35. > :33:40.wrong. It was a good approach shot as well. That's too good. Sometimes

:33:41. > :33:41.that happens. He got plenty of whip on that ball, got it up high and

:33:42. > :34:32.deep. That is a fabulous backhand. The transition from the juniors to

:34:33. > :34:37.the professional ranks is never easy. Britain certainly isn't alone

:34:38. > :34:41.as a nation which has always struggled to convert junior talent

:34:42. > :34:45.into the senior game. Here is a man who has shown from the start a

:34:46. > :34:51.willingness to learn, a willingness to knuckle down. And develop his

:34:52. > :35:24.tennis. And now win matches at the highest level.

:35:25. > :35:35.Treating us to the variety of forehands which have taken him to

:35:36. > :35:39.the verge of victory in this match. How good was that? That was a

:35:40. > :35:42.difficult overhead. There is the typical forehand that we have seen

:35:43. > :35:47.so many times now, it is frightening. Two points from the

:35:48. > :36:06.semifinals of the Davis Cup. That really is the first sign of any

:36:07. > :36:13.tension. That shot has been so effective in this match. Just a

:36:14. > :36:37.little bit of tension in the arm there, cutting the tape.

:36:38. > :38:11.That is tension for you! The pressure of serving it out there and

:38:12. > :38:16.you could almost see his arm shaking in expectancy and Murray talked

:38:17. > :38:19.about that, the time he served out Wimbledon for the first time. When

:38:20. > :38:24.that sets in, there is not much you can do about it. It is all part of

:38:25. > :38:28.the learning experience. He still has a healthy lead. But Dusan

:38:29. > :38:30.Lajovic breaks for the first time in the match and we are level at 5-5,

:38:31. > :39:27.third set. This is going to be a very important

:39:28. > :39:33.changeover coming up, if Kyle Edmund was to lose this game. This is where

:39:34. > :40:50.Leon has got to get in his face a little bit here and reassure him.

:40:51. > :40:59.What a couple of games for Dusan Lajovic. The number one player this

:41:00. > :41:03.weekend for Serbia. And he, his friends, his family, all the

:41:04. > :41:07.supporters, barring the travelling Brits, fully intend to still be out

:41:08. > :41:11.here in a couple of hours' time. That is what it is going to take if

:41:12. > :41:17.he wants to turn this match around from here. Pressure now of a

:41:18. > :41:19.different kind on Kyle Edmund. Not serving for the match, serving to

:41:20. > :41:31.stay in the set. How does that conversation go? What

:41:32. > :41:35.does Leon Smith say now? Well, he just has to calm him down here. If

:41:36. > :41:39.he looks back at that game, he is not going to talk too much about

:41:40. > :41:45.that game, but the first point Lajovic played a great point, 30-15

:41:46. > :41:50.it was a tight point. He has to get in his face, which he is doing. And

:41:51. > :41:55.say, look, these things can happen. You are playing great. You have to

:41:56. > :41:58.take this game and you will take it in the tie-breaker, the crowd are

:41:59. > :42:03.starting to get involved a bit more, just block it out. Just keep doing

:42:04. > :42:06.the things you have been doing. There is nothing too complicated to

:42:07. > :42:17.talk about. Quite a lot of credit to Lajovic in

:42:18. > :42:23.that game. We saw the replays of how fired up he was getting. You

:42:24. > :42:29.mentioned it earlier on. To see somebody so fired up, so into it,

:42:30. > :42:35.when it has been one-way traffic, very impressive from him. I agree.

:42:36. > :42:56.Played two of his best points to break there. What a time to do it.

:42:57. > :43:11.The best you can do out of this set now is a tie-break.

:43:12. > :43:16.You can add in the variable of the home crowd as well starting to play

:43:17. > :43:56.its part. In the last game, there was more

:43:57. > :44:00.pace off his shots. There's another big forehand here. We have seen so

:44:01. > :44:06.few of those from Lajovic where he's taking command of the points. It is

:44:07. > :44:09.almost like he was about to lose and open up his shoulders. He is taking

:44:10. > :44:59.a few more chances. Kyle Edmund has to keep his feet

:45:00. > :45:04.moving here. So many pros over the years have talked about it when the

:45:05. > :45:06.pressure is on, when the nerves invade, the footwork is the first

:45:07. > :46:31.thing to go. 30-15. The biggest difference in this game

:46:32. > :46:33.has been... The most points in this game, Lajovic has been on the front

:46:34. > :47:15.foot. That's gone wide. Might have hit the

:47:16. > :47:23.baseline. Pretty sure that is wide of the sideline. Set-point saved.

:47:24. > :47:41.Close but definitely out. Well played Kyle Edmund. He is under

:47:42. > :47:56.intense pressure here. Still so inexperienced in the game.

:47:57. > :48:02.It is an ongoing learning experience, which will benefit him

:48:03. > :48:14.hugely, you feel. He's got to get himself through it. He needs to keep

:48:15. > :48:18.having faith in these type of shots that have served him so well. Keep

:48:19. > :48:33.believing you can hit the first serve and the big forehand.

:48:34. > :49:31.Dusan Lajovic was two points away from defeat. Now he has set-point

:49:32. > :49:51.for a second time. What a forehand! That is

:49:52. > :49:53.unbelievable. Set-point down and he hits that forehand winner from that

:49:54. > :50:55.position. Well done. Well done coming through

:50:56. > :51:00.that game. Two set-points saved. Tie-break time. Does the match go to

:51:01. > :51:05.a fourth set? Or does Kyle Edmund wrap it up right now for Great

:51:06. > :51:08.Britain? How important was that to come through? What a gutsy effort.

:51:09. > :51:15.He is learning by the point out there. He is. Jamie and I were

:51:16. > :51:20.looking at his serve, it looks like he's not pushing up as much on his

:51:21. > :51:24.legs as he was. That is a sign of nerves, the tiredness, but that is

:51:25. > :51:28.coming from the nerves, and he's got to somehow just charge himself up,

:51:29. > :51:53.get this match over with in this tie-breaker.

:51:54. > :52:00.This is where he needs some serves now. He needs to push up on those

:52:01. > :52:58.legs and snap the ball and fight through this.

:52:59. > :53:05.There we go. The forehand is back! And two first serves in a row. That

:53:06. > :53:13.enabled him to get on the front foot. Excellent forehand there. That

:53:14. > :53:17.sets him up and he just plants his feet and there's three in the row in

:53:18. > :53:22.the same place. Important to get one of those trademark forehands in,

:53:23. > :53:27.Jamie? Early in the tie-break? Yes, to re-establish the pattern of what

:53:28. > :53:28.has been for most of this two hours, make Dusan Lajovic think how

:53:29. > :53:54.difficult it has been. The importance of this tie-break

:53:55. > :53:59.can't be overstated. Played for two-and-a-half hours already. Could

:54:00. > :54:01.be a straight-sets match. If this is going five, it will be a five-hour

:54:02. > :54:37.contest. Of course, Serbia will know, they

:54:38. > :54:40.will know that Edmund has lost from two sets to love up, that was in the

:54:41. > :54:45.final last year against David Goffin. They will know he got

:54:46. > :54:55.physically tired in that match quite quickly. They will know if they can

:54:56. > :55:01.win this set, they will have a very good shot in the physical battle.

:55:02. > :55:15.Still on serve in the third-set tie-break.

:55:16. > :55:26.Not anymore. That was a strange first serve from Kyle Edmund. He

:55:27. > :55:32.rolled that one in, a kicker, but not an out wide kicker. To me, it

:55:33. > :55:54.was almost getting the first serve in, rather than doing some damage.

:55:55. > :56:00.Earlier in the match, it was Edmund that was coming out on top in those

:56:01. > :56:04.longer rallies. He was so dominant early in the points. It seems like

:56:05. > :56:08.the balance has slightly shifted and Lajovic is looking way more

:56:09. > :56:10.comfortable being able to at least have a say in how the points are

:56:11. > :56:44.finishing. A big point for Edmund to win. Such

:56:45. > :56:49.a unique scoring system, the first to seven, you have to win by two

:56:50. > :56:54.clear points. At 4-2 down with one serve to come, you know if you lose

:56:55. > :56:57.that point, the other guy has got two serves to win it. It is not

:56:58. > :57:58.quite the case yet, though. What a moment to pull out one of

:57:59. > :58:01.your best serves down the middle. Well, if you are watching this,

:58:02. > :58:07.thinking there was no tension at all in the Andy Murray final, and that

:58:08. > :58:27.was far too easy, here we go. The Davis Cup gets you back.

:58:28. > :58:42.A matter of millimetres. What a shot. He's continued to go for the

:58:43. > :58:55.forehand. That is just massive. Alright, ladies and gentlemen, after

:58:56. > :59:17.this, it will be a set-point or a match-point.

:59:18. > :59:26.It's wide. It's a match-point. That second serve from Kyle Edmund barely

:59:27. > :59:30.went over the net. That was the slowest serve he has ever hit. It

:59:31. > :59:41.doesn't matter, he got the job done in the end.

:59:42. > :59:48.Under an extraordinary amount of pressure. Kyle Edmund, in his second

:59:49. > :00:01.Davis Cup match for Great Britain, has match-point.

:00:02. > :00:13.Kyle Edmund does it for Britain! Two wins across the weekend. Britain

:00:14. > :00:23.into the semi-finals again. They have done it without Andy Murray.

:00:24. > :00:25.And this young man has really stepped up in the Wimbledon

:00:26. > :00:42.champion's absence. Since the formation of world group

:00:43. > :00:47.in 1981 it's the first time Britain have won a world group or a play-off

:00:48. > :00:54.match without their No 1 player, whoever that may have been at the

:00:55. > :00:59.time. And huge credit to Jamie Murray, to Dom Inglot to James Ward,

:01:00. > :01:06.for being part of team at late notice, but especially to Kyle

:01:07. > :01:10.Edmunds. A player we are going to be following for the future - no doubt

:01:11. > :01:19.about that. Hopefully for a decade or more. What a talent and what an

:01:20. > :01:30.education in those final ten, 15 minutes he has found a way to win.

:01:31. > :01:35.Which is what it's all about. Failing to serve out the match when

:01:36. > :01:40.he had the chance at 5-4. He was two points from victory and then the

:01:41. > :01:47.arms started to wobble and the mind started to frazzle. But back he

:01:48. > :01:56.came. 4-2 down in the tie-break, didn't let that bother him!

:01:57. > :02:05.Edmund ended up wing five of the last six points in that third set

:02:06. > :02:10.tie-break. If you're wondering how he managed to do that, I think we

:02:11. > :02:16.are just going to have to shrug our shoulders. The the pressure

:02:17. > :02:22.situations that they find thens in, you only find admiration. I won my

:02:23. > :02:26.first match for my count are and this is my second. The fact I put

:02:27. > :02:34.two good performances together I'm happy. I thought my level was good.

:02:35. > :02:40.I'm happy for the team that I won. Kyle this was a 50/50 match at the

:02:41. > :02:43.start. You pulled away, you played superbly when you went to serve for

:02:44. > :02:47.the match, how much of an issue was nerves at that stage? Yeah, you're

:02:48. > :02:56.just aware of the situation, simple as that. You obviously just say, OK

:02:57. > :03:01.it is another game. But it's just normal sub consciously you're going

:03:02. > :03:07.to know what's at stake. Thought I didn't play too badly. Maybe at

:03:08. > :03:12.30-all and the break point I went a bit passive. It is easy in hind

:03:13. > :03:22.sight, you don't want to give away cheap points. But but I'm happy I

:03:23. > :03:28.regrouped. I was a mini-break down, did well the first two points to

:03:29. > :03:35.bring it back to 4-all and from 5-1 just one point at a time. Even that

:03:36. > :03:43.last point, you're preparing just stay tough, tough as nails and

:03:44. > :03:47.thankfully. You're going to be home for the semi-finals, how good does

:03:48. > :03:54.that feel? Yes, it is always nice to go home. It has been tough to come

:03:55. > :04:02.to Serbia and win is tough. But now we go home. I think we are playing

:04:03. > :04:08.Argentina. That will be stuff, but it is great to have the support.

:04:09. > :04:14.Even though we were in another country, it felt like I had a lot of

:04:15. > :04:21.support. Well done. STUDIO: Well done, he has led his

:04:22. > :04:26.country to a Davis Cup semi-final, but it got very tense at the end?

:04:27. > :04:31.What a performance. We were thinking this is so comfortable. His forehand

:04:32. > :04:36.was massive. The game where he served for the match, there was a

:04:37. > :04:43.bit of tension. He didn't play a bad game. He got a bit tight at 30-15

:04:44. > :04:47.and he missed a forehand. For the rest of the match he had so much

:04:48. > :04:50.clearance over the net. But over all, you think of how well he was

:04:51. > :04:54.playing the first two and a half hours and then to have the mental

:04:55. > :05:00.test with all the tension and to come through. Top marks really. It

:05:01. > :05:04.was a physical test, but that was a mental battle, those last few

:05:05. > :05:09.points. It was and just imagine if he ended up losing that set and he

:05:10. > :05:18.had been that close to it. I thought it was a gutsy performance and being

:05:19. > :05:23.down in the tie-braeshg. But he had -- tie-break. But he had faith in

:05:24. > :05:29.his game. This is match point. And he stood firm. Yes, Lajovic played

:05:30. > :05:33.his best couple of games at the end out of the whole match. He came

:05:34. > :05:38.through and Kyle had to writ stand that pressure and kept having belief

:05:39. > :05:43.in what he was going to do and it came good. That will mean so much to

:05:44. > :05:48.him, that he came through under that pressure. What that could do for his

:05:49. > :05:53.career is amazing. It was... It got to tight towards the end. He wasn't

:05:54. > :05:58.moving that well. If he had lost that set you felt how would he have

:05:59. > :06:04.come back. So it was a credit to him that he found a way to win. He

:06:05. > :06:09.managed to regroup. It was important at the start of tie-break, there was

:06:10. > :06:12.a couple of points where he dominated, a couple of games before,

:06:13. > :06:18.Lajovic was getting on top of the points. I just reinforced in

:06:19. > :06:22.Lajovic's head this will be tough and he will have to play some good

:06:23. > :06:28.tennis, because Kyle is not going to give it away. On the match point he

:06:29. > :06:37.tried to go for the backhands up the line. He stood firm, Kyle had to dig

:06:38. > :06:44.deep to get himself back to 6-6. It was fabulous. The winners that Kyle

:06:45. > :06:50.hit today, the total faith he has in the forehand is amazing. I just kept

:06:51. > :06:55.over and again just taking just chapses. -- chances. Crucial. That

:06:56. > :07:00.showed you that belief he has got in that side of his game. At this

:07:01. > :07:05.point, considering what had happened in the match, having served for it,

:07:06. > :07:12.that is just purely all about guts. You can talk about his game style

:07:13. > :07:17.and what he needs to do, to come back, he did well not to show too

:07:18. > :07:21.much. You could tell by some of his shots that he was feeling tight. But

:07:22. > :07:26.he was just rock solid at the end. Such a big test. Never been in that

:07:27. > :07:30.position before. I think this will do him a lot of good, because you

:07:31. > :07:36.proved to yourself that you can turn things around and win the points

:07:37. > :07:42.that matter. You can't teach that? No if he had won in the regulation,

:07:43. > :07:46.yes it was a great performance, but he won so comfortably, but to lose

:07:47. > :07:50.the serve and come back with the whole tension on it and win the

:07:51. > :07:57.tie-breaking, he will be thinking, you know p boy, I have done it, I

:07:58. > :08:03.can, what can I do from here. At 4-2 down, you're thinking this is

:08:04. > :08:08.getting tight. But he seemed to up thence intense -- up the intensity.

:08:09. > :08:13.Yes Kyle almost went for a shot that was kind of hit-or-miss and made a

:08:14. > :08:19.huge forehand winner. That maybe relaxed him and for Lajovic the

:08:20. > :08:27.difference between 4-3 and 5-2 is massive. He had such variety in his

:08:28. > :08:32.game. Is so similar pressive. -- it is so impressive. He has got a huge

:08:33. > :08:37.forehand, but it was the different ways he hit it. The short angles and

:08:38. > :08:43.he would go down the line and hit the high ball. His backhand was

:08:44. > :08:47.superb. We talk about the forehand, but the backhand was fantastic

:08:48. > :08:50.today. Defended so well with it. Hit some great ones down the line. He

:08:51. > :08:56.showed a lot of variety in all aspects of hiss game. Early on, the

:08:57. > :09:02.way Lajovic was hitting the backhand with the top-spin, it was playing

:09:03. > :09:07.into Kyle's hands. What Kyle was doing, that is tough on a slow

:09:08. > :09:11.court, he was taking the ball almost on the rise and it was almost like

:09:12. > :09:16.he was hitting it before Lajovic could set himself and he was able to

:09:17. > :09:22.hit so many winners. We have been talking about he has improved the

:09:23. > :09:27.backhand, but his movement, he got a bit tight towards the end. But he

:09:28. > :09:30.was moving well. How many times did we see him stretched wide and hit

:09:31. > :09:35.that forehand slide and the backhand. I thought he moved well.

:09:36. > :09:43.When I have seen Kyle in the past, I thought that could be the differen

:09:44. > :09:46.from separating him from the top, his defensive movement. But his

:09:47. > :09:52.movement has been fabulous. It is one more aspect he has improved. Now

:09:53. > :09:59.more reaction and we can hear from Kyle again. Well here is Kyle

:10:00. > :10:03.Edmund, who I think has had one of moments of his tennis life. Perhaps

:10:04. > :10:08.the moment so far. That was really special. What was going through your

:10:09. > :10:15.mind as you sank to the clay, knowing you had won? I don't know.

:10:16. > :10:20.Just... When you're out there, it is just such in the moment emotions.

:10:21. > :10:26.You are just trying to win every point. You don't really think. He

:10:27. > :10:31.missed a backhand down the line and when you see it go wide, you are so

:10:32. > :10:37.happy. In that third set, I was starting to feel it at the end and

:10:38. > :10:41.you put in so much physical eest effort -- physical effort and

:10:42. > :10:47.emotion. You want to win for your country and it is normal. But I'm

:10:48. > :10:52.pleased I won. Coming back having been broken when serving for the

:10:53. > :10:59.match, he is developing momentum, he can't be easy to shift it back your

:11:00. > :11:05.way? That is the thing when you play away, when the player, the home play

:11:06. > :11:09.per, he gains momentum and the crowd bite into that. It is the same when

:11:10. > :11:15.we are at home and the crowd's so loud and it is every point. That was

:11:16. > :11:21.the same here, they started to get louder and louder and every points

:11:22. > :11:27.becomes more important. So it was tough getting broken. I didn't want

:11:28. > :11:31.to. But I'm happy that I regrouped and played some tough tennis. Have

:11:32. > :11:38.you ever hit the ball harder than you did today? I don't know. Yeah,

:11:39. > :11:43.in practice, you have to practice a certain way. You can't practice one

:11:44. > :11:48.way and come out and just turn it on. If you're comfortable playing at

:11:49. > :11:53.that level, you have to practice at that level for long periods. I

:11:54. > :11:58.thought my ball speed dropped a bit. But not a huge amount. Playing on

:11:59. > :12:03.clay is very physical and I was feeling it at the end, but so was

:12:04. > :12:08.he. I was pleased I was able to dominate a lot of points. Here is

:12:09. > :12:14.your captain, you said at the start of the week you could see Kyle as a

:12:15. > :12:20.top 10 player one day. He showed why you think that. Don't tell that in

:12:21. > :12:28.front of him. Was that off-the-record? No I have seen Kyle

:12:29. > :12:36.develop and we went to South America and he was on fire, specially on a

:12:37. > :12:42.clay-court. Davis Cup final we saw what he did to Goffin for a couple

:12:43. > :12:48.of sets. And this year he is getting better and better. Physically he is

:12:49. > :12:52.stronger, that is credit to himself and his backhand is rock solid and

:12:53. > :12:56.he has a great serve and the forehand is an unbelievable shot. We

:12:57. > :13:01.saw what he was doing again with it. He is running around that backhand

:13:02. > :13:07.and you think he is off balance, but he can still pull the trigger. I'm

:13:08. > :13:13.sure, he is ehere, but he will take a lot from being able to win two

:13:14. > :13:18.strait set matches under this intensity. And yet again it is

:13:19. > :13:25.another bout of confidence to move forward. Andy Murray dominated the

:13:26. > :13:34.headlines in the Davis Cup, but you were keen to point United out there

:13:35. > :13:41.was a great team contributing. How much pleasure does it give you to

:13:42. > :13:44.have won without your star man. Yes it is just not the players, it is

:13:45. > :13:50.the staff and everyone works hard and everyone knows we are a close

:13:51. > :13:58.unit. But you know hats off to Kyle. This weekend to get two rubbers,

:13:59. > :14:03.yeah, that, to get your first Davis Cup win is something to get two in

:14:04. > :14:07.the same weekend is special. Is this the moment when you say bring on

:14:08. > :14:20.Argentina. Yes, I guess we are playing them. They beat Italy today.

:14:21. > :14:27.Again it will be a tough match. So Del Potro coming back, a dangerous

:14:28. > :14:31.play per, it will be tough, but we will enjoy this moment first and

:14:32. > :14:37.then look ahead to that. Great we have a home tie that will be a great

:14:38. > :14:42.atmosphere. You deserve a rest. Congratulations. You want to say

:14:43. > :14:46.something about the guys. These guys have been great. You could hear them

:14:47. > :14:51.singing all the time, we were in Serbia and the crowd is loud and it

:14:52. > :14:54.be become very you know loud, but these, when I have been playing I

:14:55. > :15:03.felt so much support from the bench and from the guys in the stands, so

:15:04. > :15:07.that is a credit to them. The Sterling University Barmy Army seem

:15:08. > :15:15.too make most of the noise. Well done. Leon Smith, Davis Cup

:15:16. > :15:27.semi-finalist again. Through to the semi-finals to face Argentina, who

:15:28. > :15:32.defeated if Italy today. So an away win for Argentina and another away

:15:33. > :15:44.win for France. We have three away wins, that is

:15:45. > :15:49.unusual. Yes it is a surprise. Maybe Croatia will beat the United States.

:15:50. > :15:55.But it is lovely, what Kyle was saying, you could sense the relief

:15:56. > :15:59.coming out. Yes especially the way that third set was shaping up. It is

:16:00. > :16:03.hard to describe is tension that would have built up. He is trying to

:16:04. > :16:08.keep that contained to try and perform and then he mentioned it,

:16:09. > :16:15.when you see the flight of the last ball drifting out, the relief is

:16:16. > :16:22.just amazing. Also for Leon, it is such a big moment. Without Andy

:16:23. > :16:26.Murray. We thought that was virtually impossible without Andy.

:16:27. > :16:32.How can you get that experience w Andy, you expect him to win his

:16:33. > :16:36.singles and the doubles. You're going to have situations where he

:16:37. > :16:41.doesn't play. Now Kyle has stepped up and won two matches without

:16:42. > :16:46.dropping a set. How good that is for Leon. He has No 2 back up, who you

:16:47. > :16:49.think can win one of the other matches and not put all the pressure

:16:50. > :16:55.on Andy. It is a wonderful feeling that the team will have and

:16:56. > :16:59.specially Leon. Embarrassing for Leon, that Russell suggested you

:17:00. > :17:02.would be a top ten player when Kyle was standing there, but he does look

:17:03. > :17:07.like he can. His forehands, there is no doubt. Where would you put his

:17:08. > :17:14.forehand in the world? Having spoken to people on the tour, they say in

:17:15. > :17:18.terms of pace it is in the top five. As an isolated shot. There is other

:17:19. > :17:23.areas of his game he can improve. His move pment we talk about --

:17:24. > :17:28.movement is the one we talk about. We will get better. He talked about

:17:29. > :17:31.it earlier, in the week, that the slower surface does give him time to

:17:32. > :17:36.do different thins. But this is the best I have seen him the defend on a

:17:37. > :17:39.court. He was using a sliced backhand, that he doesn't often do

:17:40. > :17:47.and he was able to defend his forehand and he was sliding on his

:17:48. > :17:54.outside leg and getting a strong foundation, different height and the

:17:55. > :17:57.one thing that tricky, is when it is on a quicker court, that is where

:17:58. > :18:03.the movement is a challenge. But he is young. And in terms of developing

:18:04. > :18:08.on the physical side, what better role model than Andy Murray. He

:18:09. > :18:16.wasn't the finished article at 17 or 18, he was a tall skinny guy. As far

:18:17. > :18:23.as the mental side, it is winning matches that gives you such a boost

:18:24. > :18:31.what he will believe now? I think daifbg is up there -- Davis Cup is

:18:32. > :18:36.up there. To win two matches in a Davis Cup singles away from home,

:18:37. > :18:40.might be about the most difficult thing in tennis. He has done it and

:18:41. > :18:44.under these circumstances where he served for the match and lost it. He

:18:45. > :18:50.will come away and think, you know, that is a huge accomplishment that I

:18:51. > :18:55.have done and why not from now on? Anything now, there won't be many

:18:56. > :19:08.more matches like that where he will be under as much tension. Now

:19:09. > :19:12.further reaction in Belgrade. Here is Dom Inglot and Jamie Murray.

:19:13. > :19:20.They're singing your song again. Nice to know the tie is in the bag?

:19:21. > :19:26.Yes Kyle was awesome the whole weekend, especially today. Did well

:19:27. > :19:30.to hold his nerve at the end. Not serving out and then having to fight

:19:31. > :19:36.back and then the tie-break. He did amazing. He is the reason that we

:19:37. > :19:39.are in the semi-finals. You told me before the tie how last Sunday

:19:40. > :19:44.during the Wimbledon final you preferred to be watching at home,

:19:45. > :19:49.because you can't get up and walk around and it is too stressful.

:19:50. > :19:58.Could you escape here? It is difficult,, It is difficult. You can

:19:59. > :20:01.support the guys and pick him up when he is down. I think we did a

:20:02. > :20:07.good job. The support staff are always you know so amazing, cheering

:20:08. > :20:11.the guys on and supporting them through the good and the bad times

:20:12. > :20:21.and it helps us perform well and it is a huge part of our success. I'm

:20:22. > :20:25.sure you would echo that. As somebody who hasn't always had the

:20:26. > :20:32.chance the play. It is a team effort. Yes the support staff are

:20:33. > :20:35.key. Look how much noise their making and that helps when you're in

:20:36. > :20:40.a tight situation like Kyle had. That gets you through. So credit to

:20:41. > :20:46.everyone who is making it as easy as possible for us. So much to look

:20:47. > :20:52.forward to. Not just the semi-final, but you're heading to Rio for the

:20:53. > :20:57.Olympics. We got fully confirmed, all the appeals is done, a day ago,

:20:58. > :21:03.so me and Connor are going and going to join this big guy and Andy and

:21:04. > :21:07.the girls. So it will be, we are pumped to go and in September the

:21:08. > :21:12.next tie as well. A lot of good things to come. Wonderful for the

:21:13. > :21:16.future of the British team you have you and Andy who have been

:21:17. > :21:22.performing at a high level and both of you many years left and Dom on

:21:23. > :21:29.the scoreboard and Kyle at just the age of 21 with such a blight future?

:21:30. > :21:33.-- bright future. This weekend we didn't have Andy and we are going

:21:34. > :21:38.away from home, playing outdoors on clay and the guys stepped it up and

:21:39. > :21:42.you know Dom's won his first points was huge. Especially last year he

:21:43. > :21:47.was always there to play and you know Andy put himself forward for

:21:48. > :21:53.the doubles, must have been frustrating, but he showed why he is

:21:54. > :21:57.such a good player. And Kyle was awesome and I think his ranking

:21:58. > :22:01.lies, I think the more established he becomes on the tour, his ranking

:22:02. > :22:08.will continue to move up and you know a lot of good things ahead for

:22:09. > :22:12.us. Enjoy your evening. Thank you. They're definitely going to enjoy

:22:13. > :22:19.their evening and they played their part. It is a complete team. Yes,

:22:20. > :22:23.last year we had the amazing win from James Ward and the rest of the

:22:24. > :22:27.time it was the Murray show. This year that is a different story.

:22:28. > :22:30.Andy's chosen and also had the confidence in the rest of the

:22:31. > :22:34.players coming in to think, I don't need to play this match, I think we

:22:35. > :22:40.can get through without me playing and Kyle Edmund to get his first win

:22:41. > :22:44.and Dom Inglot, that is amazing. They did well yesterday, they're

:22:45. > :22:49.such strong favourites in that match and got off to a quick start and

:22:50. > :22:54.sometimes that is difficult, because you know the team will respond, but

:22:55. > :22:58.you don't know how well. They came back in and did well to win the

:22:59. > :23:02.third set and get over the line. Although we won today, those last

:23:03. > :23:08.two matches had a lot of tension in them at the end. They certainly

:23:09. > :23:12.have. And we played in this competition, you don't feel part of

:23:13. > :23:18.it until you have won. You could see Dom's reaction. I loved that. You

:23:19. > :23:22.had better believe it! He was so happy. He is a good doubles player

:23:23. > :23:27.and when Andy wants to play, you know Andy would be in the top five

:23:28. > :23:32.in the world in doubles. Is tough to dislodge him. It gives Leon the

:23:33. > :23:39.opportunity if Andy has a five-set match to put Dom in. And you have

:23:40. > :23:44.Jamie who was No 1 in the world, has won a Grand Slam. We are in good

:23:45. > :23:48.shape in doubles. And we have Colin Fleming and others and we are

:23:49. > :23:51.blessed in that area and we have the singles coming up. We could be a

:23:52. > :23:57.factor in Davis Cup for a number of years. Doesn't that sound good? Yes.

:23:58. > :24:01.Listening to Dom and Jamie, talking about the lives, that is not --

:24:02. > :24:18.Olympics, that is not far away. In August all eyes will be on Rio.

:24:19. > :24:23.Jessica Ennis-Hill is back on top of world. Nicola Adams has made

:24:24. > :24:44.history. Gold for Kenya. His 18th Olympic

:24:45. > :24:53.gold medal. They are world champions again. She has iced the cake in

:24:54. > :25:03.style. Bradley Wiggins is the Olympic champion. Laura Trott closes

:25:04. > :25:08.the line as the world champion. Not long to wait. Before that we have

:25:09. > :25:11.got the anniversary games to look forward to from Olympic Park the

:25:12. > :25:31.athletic, on Friday at 8pm. Talking about the Olympics and it

:25:32. > :25:40.meant so much to Andy Murray, we have had a few high profile pull

:25:41. > :25:50.outs with Raonic and Leyton Hewitt. For Andy Murray it means a lot. Yes

:25:51. > :25:54.2012 was a great experience, after having lost Wimbledon. I think this

:25:55. > :25:57.time his, I don't know whether it might be a controversial thing to

:25:58. > :26:00.say, but I think his focus will be on trying to win the doubles with

:26:01. > :26:06.Jamie, that would be unbelievable, if he had the choice this time, if

:26:07. > :26:12.he could win one or the other. Do you? I think the massive would be

:26:13. > :26:16.massive for the brothers. They have won so much with the Davis Cup in

:26:17. > :26:21.the doubles, it would be a special family occasion. You feel with Lendl

:26:22. > :26:25.in his corner after Wimbledon he fancies winning all the big vents.

:26:26. > :26:33.Oh, he is so good, it is frightening. Wimbledon he was

:26:34. > :26:38.amazing. The US Open, he is odds on either him and Djokovic, it will be

:26:39. > :26:41.those two. I see him winning another three or four Grand Slams in

:26:42. > :26:47.singles. That is the Olympics in August and in September and this

:26:48. > :26:53.will be live on the BBC, Argentina against Great Britain. So it is a

:26:54. > :27:00.home tie for us. But Argentina are tough. Del Potro. Yes with them, the

:27:01. > :27:09.surface will be our opportunity to choose that and we can put a court

:27:10. > :27:15.down that suits us better. What another great occasion to be in a

:27:16. > :27:20.Davis Cup semi-final, we made the quarter-final two years ago, won it

:27:21. > :27:24.last year. It is so good there is so much good tennis available and the

:27:25. > :27:30.British public, Andy Murray, we spend so much time giving him

:27:31. > :27:34.praise, because he deserves it, to have the opportunity outside of

:27:35. > :27:40.Wimbledon and at the O2 to see him play and perform at his best is

:27:41. > :27:44.special, because you Nantes know when another -- don't know when

:27:45. > :27:48.another one is coming. It is great to see so many kids getting

:27:49. > :27:54.involved. It inspired Andy and Jamie. Davis Cup is special. When

:27:55. > :27:59.you get Andy playing and the atmosphere and we have seen it in

:28:00. > :28:04.the last few matches at home, our support is a joke. I think it is, we

:28:05. > :28:07.are almost, I think we are getting known for that throughout the tennis

:28:08. > :28:11.community, you come to Britain or even if you go away, you're going to

:28:12. > :28:16.have a loud crowd that will go berserk and it won't be favourable

:28:17. > :28:22.to you. No thank you very much. We have run out of time. Kyle Edmund

:28:23. > :28:25.faced a big test today and he came through in incredible fashion. We

:28:26. > :28:30.know we have an outstanding leader in Andy Murray and a solid doubles

:28:31. > :28:40.team, now we have a singles play Torbach up Murray. Well -- to back

:28:41. > :29:03.up Murray. What a career ahead for Kyle Edmund. Goodbye.

:29:04. > :29:04.Oh, God, we can't stop now. SHE CHUCKLES

:29:05. > :29:07.OK, guys, we're about to go live to the world.

:29:08. > :29:10.The inside story of London's Olympic opening ceremony.

:29:11. > :29:16.Oh, God, we can't stop now. SHE CHUCKLES
