:00:41. > :00:52.Please welcome Andy Murray! What a welcome for Andy Murray.

:00:53. > :01:01.This is tight. So, here we are. After nearly an hour three set

:01:02. > :01:09.points. Just one needed.

:01:10. > :01:39.The ball went wide. He is livid. It's one set all. 2-1 Murray.

:01:40. > :01:48.Three-and-a-half hours of the most enthralling tennis.

:01:49. > :01:55.That's brilliant from Juan Martin del Potro. Four sets. Everything you

:01:56. > :02:00.could want from a Davis Cup tie and more.

:02:01. > :02:07.Made it! Magnificent from Del Potro. It's one of the great Davis Cup

:02:08. > :02:17.matches of all time. It's extraordinary!

:02:18. > :02:28.Revenge for Rio. Misery for Murray. Delight for Del Potro. It was a

:02:29. > :02:32.great match. I won, but I still remember the Olympic finals. But I

:02:33. > :02:35.think this is very important for me, for my team and we are looking

:02:36. > :02:47.forward to reach another finals in the Davis Cup.

:02:48. > :03:01.My goodness, the defending champions needed a pick me up and Kyle Edmund

:03:02. > :03:10.has given it to them. And we are level.

:03:11. > :03:27.Argentina move ahead by two sets to one.

:03:28. > :03:35.The defending champions' grip on the Davis Cup a flimsy one after the

:03:36. > :03:38.opening day of the semifinal. It's Great Britain 0, Argentina 2.

:03:39. > :03:43.Certainly a tough day when you are 2-0 down. We have had a lot of good

:03:44. > :03:50.days in the Davis Cup and this is one of those rougher ones. We have

:03:51. > :03:55.to keep fighting. They certainly do. What a memorable day of tennis

:03:56. > :03:57.yesterday. We witnessed one of the greatest matches in Davis Cup

:03:58. > :04:01.history. Juan Martin del Potro defeated Andy Murray in five

:04:02. > :04:06.outstanding sets. Although the Brits battled hard still as far as results

:04:07. > :04:12.go it was the most disappointing day for the British Davis Cup since

:04:13. > :04:16.2010. They have to win the doubles today to keep the tie alive. 2-0

:04:17. > :04:20.comebacks have been done before. Looking at the form of Juan Martin

:04:21. > :04:23.del Potro chances seem remote. The good news for the British team is

:04:24. > :04:28.that Andy Murray says he is fit enough. He is playing with his

:04:29. > :04:37.brother today in the doubles, Jamie. Also surprisingly, Juan Martin del

:04:38. > :04:41.Potro is also playing in the doubles against Leonardo Meyer. When it was

:04:42. > :04:47.announced to the crowd here that got a huge cheer and I have a feeling

:04:48. > :04:53.the Red Hot Chili Peppers are going to get a huge cheer when they finish

:04:54. > :04:58.their entertainment. It's It's loud here! It gets the crowd going. These

:04:59. > :05:03.occasions are amazing and it's down to the Murray brothers. What about

:05:04. > :05:08.Juan Martin del Potro playing? I am in total shock about that. I can't

:05:09. > :05:12.understand why he is playing. I suppose he must have woken up

:05:13. > :05:16.morning, said he felt great, let's go for a clean sweep. He thinks they

:05:17. > :05:21.can win this match. But I am shocked that the captain has put him in.

:05:22. > :05:24.When you win a match you are on a high, it's almost tougher for Andy

:05:25. > :05:28.to lose in five sets is devastating and to have to come out and play an

:05:29. > :05:34.important match today. It is devastating. Obviously those were

:05:35. > :05:39.the questions, will Murray play and will Del Potro play? Great Britain

:05:40. > :05:42.don't have a choice. I agree, Juan Martin del Potro is really strange,

:05:43. > :05:46.but looking ahead, Andy Murray you have to think he has another two

:05:47. > :05:50.best of five-set matches ahead of him and hopefully he gets the team

:05:51. > :05:54.into a deciding rubber. He is going to be looking to Jamie to be the

:05:55. > :05:58.team leader today. Let's look back to yesterday. We had to rush off air

:05:59. > :06:04.a little bit. The match lasted so long yesterday. It was so good. This

:06:05. > :06:08.is the break point in the fifth set which really did turn the match

:06:09. > :06:12.around. As Andy Murray said afterwards, it's very small margins

:06:13. > :06:16.in a match like that and that point was the decider. What a forehand

:06:17. > :06:22.from Juan Martin del Potro. It was a great match, one of the best I have

:06:23. > :06:25.seen in my life. It was sad that someone had to win. All credit to

:06:26. > :06:29.Juan Martin del Potro. What an effort he put in. He raised the

:06:30. > :06:33.level of his game. You wonder whether he would have the legs to

:06:34. > :06:39.get through five sets. He was so solid and so good. Yeah, when Murray

:06:40. > :06:42.won the second set and the third set you thought OK, Juan Martin del

:06:43. > :06:49.Potro might go away, but you expected Murray to get ahead. In the

:06:50. > :06:52.last 25 minutes of the match the Del Potro forehand, he raised it and

:06:53. > :06:58.dominated the court and that was the difference. Also we knew that Andy

:06:59. > :07:09.was going to fight so hard and he really did. Del Potro came out to

:07:10. > :07:27.serve. We will show you the effort Murray in in this point.

:07:28. > :07:33.APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

:07:34. > :07:36.Let's admire it again. We will isolate Murray and show you how hard

:07:37. > :08:06.he fought in this point. That got a standing ovation but it

:08:07. > :08:11.wasn't enough. Let's hear what andy had to say after that defeat.

:08:12. > :08:14.Andy, a dwruling match at the end of of a long season. -- gruelling. How

:08:15. > :08:20.is it from your speck peck to play? I think it was a good match. --

:08:21. > :08:25.perspective. You know, obviously I felt like there wasn't too many

:08:26. > :08:30.mistakes and important moments, both of us came up with good stuff at key

:08:31. > :08:34.moments. You know, the shot that he came up with to break in the fifth

:08:35. > :08:38.set, you know, was the difference at the end really. My condolences for

:08:39. > :08:43.the loss of your grandfather, was it a difficult decision to play today?

:08:44. > :08:48.No, I planned on playing. But it's hard, obviously. I never experienced

:08:49. > :08:52.that before with anyone in my family, so it's hard. At the moment

:08:53. > :08:56.you can't answer this question, is it going to be tough to try to play

:08:57. > :08:59.doubles tomorrow after the back of today? I would think so. I have

:09:00. > :09:04.never played a match of that length before. I will have to see how I

:09:05. > :09:07.feel when I wake up in the morning. It will be tough, for sure. Thank

:09:08. > :09:12.you for your time. Thanks. It certainly wouldn't have

:09:13. > :09:17.been an easy decision to make - come out and play the doubles. This was

:09:18. > :09:21.this morning coming out practising, looking very low-key. Understandably

:09:22. > :09:24.so. Absolutely. What a year he has had. The physical stuff he has put

:09:25. > :09:29.in and the amount of tournaments he has played. To come in here and the

:09:30. > :09:33.tragedy about his grandfather, as well. The pressure that's been on

:09:34. > :09:38.him and that match was exhausting yesterday. So emotional. I admire

:09:39. > :09:42.him once again for coming out. He knows he has to win this match to

:09:43. > :09:48.keep the tie alive. He is doing his stuff again. All credit to him. You

:09:49. > :09:51.have to admire him. He has always put himself up to say I will play

:09:52. > :09:55.three days in a row and these are best of five sets. You are asking a

:09:56. > :09:58.lot off one player to play all three matches every tie. We knew he was

:09:59. > :10:03.running on empty before he came in here with the summer he had had. The

:10:04. > :10:06.final of the French Open, winning Queens and the Olympics, he is

:10:07. > :10:10.winning so many matches. That match yesterday, to be - of course it had

:10:11. > :10:14.to be the longest match he ever played. Then to come out today, but

:10:15. > :10:18.as you rightly say, with having Evans and Edmund on the court, sorry

:10:19. > :10:23.in the team, he has to be on the court today. Absolutely. We talk

:10:24. > :10:27.about you have to come back from 2-0 down. It has been done before.

:10:28. > :10:32.Croatia did it against the United States. They came back in the

:10:33. > :10:39.quarter-final in July, defeating the Bryan brothers and also beating

:10:40. > :10:45.Isner. It's only been done ten times since 1981. It's a big ask. It

:10:46. > :10:50.certainly is. On paper you look at the team and you look at Del Potro

:10:51. > :10:54.will be playing the fifth rubber if it comes down to that, he will have

:10:55. > :10:58.to be favourite. But it can be done. We are the champions. From this

:10:59. > :11:03.year, and that means a lot. They're not going to give the Cup up without

:11:04. > :11:09.a great fight. Absolutely. The form of Del Potro. If you are looking at

:11:10. > :11:15.form you would think the Murray brothers, depending on if Andy is

:11:16. > :11:21.moving well enough would be favourites. It's down to Juan Martin

:11:22. > :11:24.del Potro, Edmund or Evans? That's why the surprise that he is on the

:11:25. > :11:28.court today having played five hours, to be on the court you think

:11:29. > :11:31.the Argentinians have two rubbers already, they think it's going to

:11:32. > :11:34.go... Well, they think potentially it go will to a fifth match and they

:11:35. > :11:37.would have taken that before it started, to have Juan Martin del

:11:38. > :11:42.Potro in that match, maybe he wants to be fresh. I don't know, maybe

:11:43. > :11:49.they're sensing weakness in the British camp, and they want to win

:11:50. > :11:53.3-0. Also maybe Juan Martin del Potro thought Andy won't play. Maybe

:11:54. > :11:59.he wouldn't play and he can come in and win all three. It's mind games

:12:00. > :12:02.being the captain, isn't it? It was but Juan Martin del Potro would have

:12:03. > :12:07.said I want to play and he must be on such a high after the summer he

:12:08. > :12:09.has had. The comeback. How was his demeanour yesterday, so calm and

:12:10. > :12:13.probably woke up this morning and thought I can win this doubles as

:12:14. > :12:18.well. Why not? He has to say that. When you have had a win like that

:12:19. > :12:22.it's easier to recover from the physical pain. How good a doubles

:12:23. > :12:25.player is Juan Martin del Potro? He was practising today. He looked

:12:26. > :12:29.sharp. It comes down to the theory that the top singles players in the

:12:30. > :12:32.world, I agree with you, John, the top in the world when they're on the

:12:33. > :12:35.doubles court are also the top doubles players in the world,

:12:36. > :12:38.they're that good. You look at Juan Martin del Potro's game and he has

:12:39. > :12:44.the massive serve, that will be a help in any doubles match. He is OK

:12:45. > :12:49.at the net, he has a massive wing span. The question mark is on the

:12:50. > :12:54.backhand side, he has to use the slice a lot. If he gets pinned to

:12:55. > :13:01.the back of the court, we don't know how he is going to cope with that.

:13:02. > :13:05.We don't know a lot about Mayer. They've a few doubles players, he

:13:06. > :13:12.has gone for more of the singles players. It was strange the captain

:13:13. > :13:17.didn't pick a doubles specialist. Mayer has a good record. He is

:13:18. > :13:20.pretty solid. He combines well. They figure that with Juan Martin del

:13:21. > :13:23.Potro there will be a good combination. I still think it's a

:13:24. > :13:29.strange decision. I can't understand it myself. I would have kept Del

:13:30. > :13:33.Potro fresh for the fifth match. You have been in the captain's chair.

:13:34. > :13:38.How difficult has it been for Leon Smith to lift the team. This is

:13:39. > :13:41.territory he hasn't been in before. Exactly what you said, when you have

:13:42. > :13:45.Andy Murray in the team he is so good you don't expect him to lose.

:13:46. > :13:49.Psychologically when you are nom - your number one player, the man of

:13:50. > :13:54.steel has lost, it sends that a message to the team. Leon Smith

:13:55. > :13:57.would have had to spend time talking to the rest of the team. Andy will

:13:58. > :14:02.be fine, but the rest of the team, that was a blow to them

:14:03. > :14:06.psychologically, he will have to say listen, we are number one here, we

:14:07. > :14:10.can still come back. We can do this. Also as far as Kyle Edmund is

:14:11. > :14:21.concerned, it wasn't good for him either. Here comes the captain, he

:14:22. > :14:22.would have been a happy captain yesterday, that's for sure. Here

:14:23. > :15:31.come the players. So the Argentinian team are out. Now

:15:32. > :15:33.for Great Britain. They'll give them a big cheer. They're going to need

:15:34. > :15:50.it as well today. APPLAUSE AND

:15:51. > :16:54.CHEERING A huge cheer for the British team.

:16:55. > :16:59.Jamie Murray there at the end, fresh from his US Open win. He is having a

:17:00. > :17:02.fantastic year in doubles. He will need to lift his brother as he can

:17:03. > :17:06.today. This was supposed to be done yesterday at the opening ceremony,

:17:07. > :17:09.the exchange of the little flags they have. But the British team had

:17:10. > :17:14.lost theirs. They went and found them! So the players exchange with

:17:15. > :17:22.their opposite number and off they go. Kyle Edmund the number two up

:17:23. > :17:27.against del Potro. His ranking still isn't what it was. This is so key.

:17:28. > :17:31.This is when they've to try to lift themselves and forget what happened

:17:32. > :17:37.yesterday and take it as the tennis players, one match at a time. Leon

:17:38. > :17:41.Smith and the rest of the team, there was a massive task in between

:17:42. > :17:45.the Andy Murray and del Potro match before Kyle Edmund came out because

:17:46. > :17:49.really you don't have ten or 15 minutes and that was always going to

:17:50. > :17:52.be a tough position to be in and that first match has had a feel of a

:17:53. > :17:57.match on Sunday. Normally you don't come out for another match after

:17:58. > :18:01.that. So very tough. When del Potro came out on the court there, that

:18:02. > :18:04.ovation he got, that represents everything that the Davis Cup is

:18:05. > :18:15.about, just sheer utter respect from the whole stadium. Great to see him

:18:16. > :18:21.back. The barmy Army from Stirling University standing and appreciating

:18:22. > :18:25.the tennis they saw yesterday. It's a reminder of how great a player we

:18:26. > :18:28.have been if he hadn't had the injury. We talk about the fab four.

:18:29. > :18:33.We have been talking about the fab four. If del Potro hadn't been

:18:34. > :18:37.injured that probably would have existed it probably would have been

:18:38. > :18:40.a fab five. Who knows how many Grand Slams he would have won. He is a

:18:41. > :18:45.class player and the crowd loves him. It's all change at the top.

:18:46. > :18:51.It's so tough at the top of the men's game right now. Yeah and with

:18:52. > :18:57.Nadal you hope he comes back to somewhere near his best. Federer no

:18:58. > :19:01.one knows how he will react with his surgery. Rivalry is back in play for

:19:02. > :19:08.next year, no question. They haven't played an easy match. It will be a

:19:09. > :19:13.great riflery. Imagine if del Potro keeps playing the way we think he is

:19:14. > :19:18.-- rivalry. We hope we get something close to what they provided in Rio.

:19:19. > :19:21.That was emotional. It was the outstanding quality of the tennis

:19:22. > :19:24.from start to finish, it's a match that will live in the memory for

:19:25. > :19:28.them and for us for a long time. It was staggering. When you thought

:19:29. > :19:32.both were on the floor tired, they seemed to raise it again. You

:19:33. > :19:36.mentioned the point earlier, John, about the demeanour of both players.

:19:37. > :19:40.Del Potro was calm and not wasting energy between points. On the

:19:41. > :19:45.reverse, Murray a different personality was burning so much

:19:46. > :19:49.energy in between points, that's his way of getting himself geed up.

:19:50. > :19:54.Total contrast. Sometimes different styles make great matches.

:19:55. > :19:58.Absolutely. That really was one of the greatest. Andy Murray, he lost

:19:59. > :20:02.in five sets yesterday, partnering his brother Jamie Murray who has had

:20:03. > :20:05.an outstanding year. Won the Australian Open, recently won the US

:20:06. > :20:15.Open. What a successful year it's been. Let's hear from him. He has

:20:16. > :20:20.been talking to our Jamie. That's it! Third time lucky for

:20:21. > :20:26.Jamie Murray. Last year he was a finalist at Wimbledon and the US

:20:27. > :20:30.Open. Now a winner. Jamie, a year ago we were here against Australia

:20:31. > :20:34.saying how good a year you had, 12 months on, two Grand Slam titles,

:20:35. > :20:43.won the Davis Cup. Why do you think the last 12 months has been so

:20:44. > :20:49.successful? Good question. I guess a good partner in Bruno, been working

:20:50. > :20:56.well for us this year. Felt like we had a good chemistry and energy on

:20:57. > :21:01.the court together. Yeah, we really trust in each other's games. Both

:21:02. > :21:04.our kind of strengths match well with each other. Even when we are

:21:05. > :21:10.maybe not playing our best we still have skills that will work well

:21:11. > :21:14.together as a team that can get us wins on the board. What are these

:21:15. > :21:17.Davis Cup weeks like for you, with Andy in the team the assumption is

:21:18. > :21:22.that you will play with him. Obviously he has a lot of focus on

:21:23. > :21:25.the singles. How does the team McThat with practice sessions and

:21:26. > :21:28.everything -- the team manage that with practice sessions and

:21:29. > :21:34.everything? Andy has been practising doubles each day at the end of his

:21:35. > :21:40.sessions. Working on return, because return in singles is different to

:21:41. > :21:43.doubles, I think. Practising a bit more kind of maybe set plays that

:21:44. > :21:51.maybe we are going to do, things like that. Yesterday we played a

:21:52. > :21:56.practice set that was good, just on the court. Normally for me I kind of

:21:57. > :22:02.do my own stuff, make sure I am ready to play on Saturday, practise

:22:03. > :22:07.with Dom a lot, as well. Just in case, because often if Andy is not

:22:08. > :22:12.ready to play, then me and Dom will play. Normally it goes well. Leon

:22:13. > :22:15.does a great job of preparing the guys and making sure everyone gets

:22:16. > :22:19.what they need so they're ready to play respective matches. A word

:22:20. > :22:22.about being back in Glasgow, the noise and everything on Friday, I

:22:23. > :22:28.imagine you were inching to get out by Saturday? Definitely. An amazing

:22:29. > :22:32.year last year. The matches I remember most was probably the Davis

:22:33. > :22:36.Cup matches I played. That tells you something about how good it is to

:22:37. > :22:40.play here, the atmosphere to expect and fully looking forward to playing

:22:41. > :22:44.on Saturday. It's been interesting over the years, about three or four

:22:45. > :22:47.years ago we wondered what would happen to Jamie, he hadn't found a

:22:48. > :22:52.partner he gelled with. Now look at him, he has ground Bruno and a

:22:53. > :22:56.holder of two Grand Slam titles. Yeah, he had a good partnership with

:22:57. > :22:59.an American player, got up into the top 20. Then fell back down. You are

:23:00. > :23:04.wondering was he going to find that partnership again? Had a great time

:23:05. > :23:07.with John, they were successful. That move, a lot of people were

:23:08. > :23:10.questioning whether it was the right decision last year. That's clearly

:23:11. > :23:16.paid off. Jamie mentioned at the beginning of that interview the

:23:17. > :23:19.partnership with him and Bruno, they're also different characters.

:23:20. > :23:24.Bruno is calm and relaxed. Jamie gets fired up with the energy. It's

:23:25. > :23:29.a good match for them. This is a good match-up with Andy. Jamie, put

:23:30. > :23:35.into context how good his volleys are and how quick he is. Amazing.

:23:36. > :23:38.Even when he played singles, one of the top in Europe, up to about 13 or

:23:39. > :23:43.14, always coming into the net. There is two things. The speed of

:23:44. > :23:47.his reactions which is just sensational. And you watch him play,

:23:48. > :23:50.you always see his hands in front. So in front, seems like a basic

:23:51. > :23:54.thing but a lot of people are not able to do that. Also you look at

:23:55. > :23:57.how tall he is and his wing span. He reads the game well and it's hard to

:23:58. > :24:01.get the ball past him at the net. Massive reach, as well. An

:24:02. > :24:05.interesting point he mentioned about Andy having to practise the return

:24:06. > :24:09.of serve. It's different singles to doubles. It is different. Obviously

:24:10. > :24:14.in the singles court Andy is one of the best, if not THE best returner

:24:15. > :24:17.in the game. When you are facing a singles player you see the whole

:24:18. > :24:20.court. On the doubles court you see different things. You see an eye

:24:21. > :24:23.formation, somebody at the net, sometimes both players back. It is a

:24:24. > :24:27.different thing. You are looking at a smaller target. It's a question of

:24:28. > :24:32.getting used to that. Andy can probably put a return on a five

:24:33. > :24:38.pence piece if he wanted to. As far as the opponents go, del Potro

:24:39. > :24:42.played in the last Davis Cup tie and won his doubles match. He doesn't

:24:43. > :24:45.look like a doubles player. This is going to be interesting to match

:24:46. > :24:51.him. Yeah, he obviously hasn't played a lot of doubles but showing

:24:52. > :24:55.that he came into the last Davis Cup tie and managed to win that match

:24:56. > :25:00.played with Pella in that one. The weapon of the serve is going to be

:25:01. > :25:05.good on any doubles match, it's going to cause anyone problems. When

:25:06. > :25:09.you have somebody with a big match temperament like del Potro does,

:25:10. > :25:12.whatever match it is and an occasion like this it's hard to imagine not

:25:13. > :25:16.having him on the court. He is going to be a real asset to the team.

:25:17. > :25:20.That's why the captain, he probably put himself up, del Potro, and said

:25:21. > :25:25.I want to carry on because he had a good time out there. When you are on

:25:26. > :25:30.a winning role you want to keep it going. The captain last night would

:25:31. > :25:33.have been waiting to see what del Potro was going to say, if he

:25:34. > :25:37.mentions the idea of playing doubles I am putting him in straightaway and

:25:38. > :25:41.that's what happened. Absolutely. You feel for Leon Smith and how

:25:42. > :25:46.difficult it's going to be. He knows these boys so well. He coached them

:25:47. > :25:49.both when they were much younger. It's a real team spirit out there on

:25:50. > :25:53.the court. There is. I think yesterday and in particular the

:25:54. > :25:56.Murray del Potro match was probably the most difficult match of his

:25:57. > :26:00.captaincy. There was a tactical battle going on. The idea of whether

:26:01. > :26:03.Andy should have come into the net more and I could see there was

:26:04. > :26:07.instructions passed back and forth. Andy has such a good feel for the

:26:08. > :26:11.game of what is required. It's difficult to know when to say

:26:12. > :26:15.anything and not say anything. You are right, as well as having a

:26:16. > :26:19.professional relationship, they know each other so well. Yeah, I think

:26:20. > :26:22.the Murray brothers, you couldn't ask for anybody better to be on the

:26:23. > :26:27.court representing Great Britain. His record has been outstanding

:26:28. > :26:31.since he took over in 2010. They've to win all three remaining matches.

:26:32. > :26:36.It's got to start here with Andy and Jamie playing del Potro and Mayer.

:26:37. > :26:41.That's the doubles match. Before I hand over to the commentators. If

:26:42. > :26:46.you want to get in touch there is many ways you can at BBC Sport is

:26:47. > :26:51.one of the addresses. Or via the website.

:26:52. > :26:55.Or on our Facebook page, as well. So many ways to get in touch with us,

:26:56. > :26:57.anything about the doubles, the team, selections, what do you think

:26:58. > :27:00.should happen? Please do get in touch, we would love to hear from

:27:01. > :27:04.you. We are ready for this really crucial doubles now. Argentina 2-0

:27:05. > :27:08.up in the tie. This is a must-win match for Great Britain. Thank you

:27:09. > :27:14.to Jamie. It's time to hand over to John Lloyd, who has made his way to

:27:15. > :27:19.the commentary box alongside John Inverdale.

:27:20. > :27:29.Well, a quiet Saturday afternoon in Glasgow this will not be! They're

:27:30. > :27:33.going to try to match the decibels down at Ibrox later! Great Britain

:27:34. > :27:39.win and The Great Escape is, if not on, at least it's alive. The dream

:27:40. > :27:42.of retaining the Davis Cup hangs by a thread before a ball is hit today.

:27:43. > :27:46.We obviously have been used to over the years to this being the decisive

:27:47. > :27:50.day in a succession of ties, decisive in a positive way for Great

:27:51. > :27:56.Britain. But with a five out of five record in the Davis Cup for Murray

:27:57. > :28:04.and Murray. This is sink or swim. Simple as that. So, here we go.

:28:05. > :28:08.Perhaps one of the most important matches in Jamie Murray's very

:28:09. > :28:10.distinguished doubles career. He may have to be the dominant figure for

:28:11. > :29:06.Great Britain today. How would you describe your mood,

:29:07. > :29:10.John Lloyd, optimistic, calm, apprehensive? I am optimistic about

:29:11. > :29:15.this match. The rest of the tie or should I say the fifth match which I

:29:16. > :29:49.think it will go to, that's going to be difficult.

:29:50. > :29:57.A couple of mis-hit volleys there from Mayer. Had chances there.

:29:58. > :30:03.That's how loud it is after three points! That one he should have put

:30:04. > :30:04.away. That one he should have put away and that one he is lucky didn't

:30:05. > :30:33.get put away. That right there is the most

:30:34. > :30:37.difficult volley. The one that just skims over the net. You don't think

:30:38. > :30:42.it is going ore, then it does and you are not prepared. That is the

:30:43. > :30:44.one you have to have your eyes down level with the ball.

:30:45. > :31:41.Expect it to happen. There are few certainties in sport.

:31:42. > :31:47.But the Davis Cup doubles on a Saturday by and large you can put

:31:48. > :31:51.your money on. It doesn't get much better. It doesn't. I thought it was

:31:52. > :31:55.an interesting statement that Jamie Murray served first. Because for me,

:31:56. > :31:59.the better combination of the two is when Andy serves because he has a

:32:00. > :32:03.intifrg and when Jamie is up at the net because he has a better volley.

:32:04. > :32:15.This is the new Jamie Murray, feeling he should serve first. The

:32:16. > :32:20.double Grand Slam champion. Exactly. I was talking to a couple of the

:32:21. > :32:24.Barmy Army from Stirling University last night and they could barely

:32:25. > :32:25.speak at 9.00 last night. How they are able to chant today, I have no

:32:26. > :33:35.idea. Well a couple of volleys that

:33:36. > :33:38.haven't been put away by the Argentinian, that has helped Great

:33:39. > :34:05.Britain enormously at the start of this match.

:34:06. > :34:12.Very positive, very authoritative from Jamie Murray. Very much. So,

:34:13. > :34:16.Mayer is going to have to be careful on his serve, where he is directing

:34:17. > :34:21.the serve, going too much into Jamie Murray's Babs hand at the moment and

:34:22. > :34:25.he loves that when you serve to his backhand, especially on the second

:34:26. > :34:27.serve, he can hit it on the rise, the forehand is definitely the

:34:28. > :34:49.weaker wing. Good start from the Brits though.

:34:50. > :34:56.Goodness me. Was he being nice there? He saw that target in front

:34:57. > :35:01.of him. It is like he didn't want to hit him. Then he sort of tried to

:35:02. > :35:06.manoeuvre it to the left side. This is interesting here, because this

:35:07. > :35:11.was, he could have put either one of them in big trouble. It was like he

:35:12. > :35:13.was trying to avoid them. Either way, an early break of serve

:35:14. > :35:26.for Great Britain. Let us not forghaet is what Andy had

:35:27. > :35:35.yesterday. That is right. -- forget.

:35:36. > :35:40.It is a funny old game at the moment. Some strange shots being

:35:41. > :36:12.played all over the place. Huge amount of energy you can see

:36:13. > :36:22.from Jamie Murray. He is the jack-in-the-box, the driving force.

:36:23. > :36:35.Oh, and he he is also the Maestro, what an angle. That is a ridiculous

:36:36. > :36:45.shot. From that height, oh. This is a difficult... Fantastic.

:36:46. > :37:03.That is why he won the Aussie Open and the US Open. I counted three

:37:04. > :37:08.shots already, in the first three games, where on the return of serve,

:37:09. > :37:14.from the Argentina side, as they have gone to hit the ball Jamie has

:37:15. > :37:19.made these subtle moves and three times itself has put them off. They

:37:20. > :37:23.see him move, they don't know if he is going to cross, they hesitate.

:37:24. > :37:27.That is what good net player do, they continue to put a message about

:37:28. > :37:32.whether they are going to move. It puts doubt in the return of serve.

:37:33. > :37:36.At the moment, he, Andy Murray has done his part so far, but Jamie

:37:37. > :37:41.Murray so far, has started off, he wants this match to be over in about

:37:42. > :37:47.an hour so his brother can have plenty of rest tomorrow. It is like

:37:48. > :37:49.he is to move. It puts doubt in the return of serve. At the moment, he,

:37:50. > :37:52.Andy Murray has done his part so far, but Jamie Murray so far, has

:37:53. > :37:55.started off, he wants this match to be over in about an hour so his

:37:56. > :37:58.brother can have plenty of rest tomorrow. It is like he is saying to

:37:59. > :38:01.his kid brother "I will look after you." Andy probably can't express

:38:02. > :38:03.how tired he is, but he does not want, irrespective of today, in the

:38:04. > :38:05.context of the tie as a whole. Andy Murray does not want this to be four

:38:06. > :38:16.hours. No. Well, three minutes a game, and all

:38:17. > :38:23.three have gone the way of Great Britain so far. And he hasn't really

:38:24. > :38:28.hit too many balls so far, but any way, here to serve for the first

:38:29. > :38:32.time in this match is Andy Murray's nemesis from yesterday, what a great

:38:33. > :39:18.player, and what an amazing interview afterwards he gave.

:39:19. > :39:23.Jamie Murray at the moment is like a panther at the net. He is absolutely

:39:24. > :39:56.everywhere. He has done it again! Again! That is

:39:57. > :40:01.extraordinary. He has the target to go at, nine out of ten he is going

:40:02. > :40:06.to make the winner and he has missed it. There is a Code of Conduct you

:40:07. > :40:12.don't drill it at your opponent at the net, having said that you do

:40:13. > :40:14.sometimes. You have to in that circumstances, we will have to put

:40:15. > :40:32.that down to nerves. They got away with that but it was

:40:33. > :40:42.the difference of crossing Mayer. He crossed about a second too soon and

:40:43. > :40:48.was lucky to get away with it. Jamie Murray'sing has been timed to

:40:49. > :41:06.perfection. -- Jamie Murray'sing has band timed to perfection.

:41:07. > :41:18.Well... Very early days, but the Murray's are in a hurry. And here is

:41:19. > :42:03.is a break point for a 4-0 lead in this first set.

:42:04. > :42:16.Ball was called in. Jamie seemed hugely confidence about this one. He

:42:17. > :42:54.must have very good eyes. This is a shot that is not used much

:42:55. > :43:00.in the doubles these days, the lob. Jamie hits that so well, it is one

:43:01. > :43:10.of his best shots, everyone off the return of serve he hits it well. So

:43:11. > :43:19.a second opportunity for a 4-0 lead in this opening set for Great

:43:20. > :43:25.Britain. Great crosscourt return from Andy.

:43:26. > :44:11.And the Murray's are four to the good.

:44:12. > :44:36.That is the first part of the match that Mayer has taken control of.

:44:37. > :44:44.It true, as well, it is like golf, four balls and four some, if you

:44:45. > :44:48.only play alternate shots it is sometimes hard to get a rhythm. You

:44:49. > :44:51.can sometimes find yourself almost being on the margins in a doubles

:44:52. > :44:56.match by the nature of the game the ball is not going your way, it can

:44:57. > :45:41.take a while to get into the match. Yes.

:45:42. > :46:15.Jamie Murray just targeting the Del Potro backhand return.

:46:16. > :46:23.High FIAs from Leon Smith, five games in 17 minutes. And they have

:46:24. > :46:27.all been won by Great Britain. You said at the start of the

:46:28. > :46:32.programme in the studio with Jamie and Sue about how amazed you were

:46:33. > :46:35.Del Potro was in the Argentine pair, would he have overridden, because

:46:36. > :46:39.you get the impression that Leon Smith is the captain but must will

:46:40. > :46:44.have the final say on whether he plays or doesn't. Do you get the

:46:45. > :46:47.impression that Del Potro has a similar relationship, he would have

:46:48. > :46:51.said I feel so good after yesterday I want to finish the job today. No

:46:52. > :46:56.doubt about it. Absolutely no doubt that Del Potro was the one that said

:46:57. > :47:00.I want to play. There is no question, in that relationship, what

:47:01. > :47:03.would have happened. I don't understand it, because just the

:47:04. > :47:08.match ups alone and you are looking at this. It is a dream start by the

:47:09. > :47:12.British pair, I can't see how they could think that logically they

:47:13. > :47:15.could win the double, why would you tire out? I mean, the match

:47:16. > :47:21.continues like this, this is not even a warm up, so I suppose if they

:47:22. > :47:25.lose and it carries on like this there would have been no harm done.

:47:26. > :47:29.Why would they tire out with a 2-0 lead when they have Del Potro to

:47:30. > :47:34.close out the fifth if it goes that far? A lot of tennis to be played

:47:35. > :47:40.between now and that possible scenario of course, on the sidelines

:47:41. > :47:43.Kyle Edmund and Dan Evans watch on, if the Brits were to win this and

:47:44. > :47:48.Andy Murray was to win the first match tomorrow, it would come down

:47:49. > :47:53.to either Kyle Edmund or Dan Evans, we expect Dan Evans to play perhaps

:47:54. > :48:00.the match of his life against Juan Martin Del Potro tomorrow afternoon.

:48:01. > :48:15.But that is for, well, probably 26 hour's time or thereabouts. So...

:48:16. > :48:19.We ought to say after just 19 minute, here are the Argentinians

:48:20. > :49:01.serving to stay in the first set. Great Men's Doubles. One or two

:49:02. > :49:04.slightly flawed doubles but nonetheless, in terms of

:49:05. > :49:09.entertainment, that keeps the crowds coming back. It is the whole thing,

:49:10. > :49:12.in this crowd probably 75% of the people who play tennis here play

:49:13. > :49:15.only doubles, this is what they play, this is what they are looking

:49:16. > :49:18.alet to see what they are doing differently. A few things! Movement

:49:19. > :49:54.being one of them. At some point in the nexter three,

:49:55. > :49:57.four five minutes, you can tell us about the difference between singles

:49:58. > :49:59.and double, especially for somebody like Del Potro who barely plays this

:50:00. > :51:07.form of the game. And the Argentine fans who were so

:51:08. > :51:11.vocal yesterday and added to the fantastic atmosphere, the first

:51:12. > :51:40.reason for them to get on their feet this afternoon.

:51:41. > :51:47.I I was talking to a much respected Argentine journalist in the media

:51:48. > :51:52.room earlier, and he said he had been to three finals in the last

:51:53. > :51:57.decade or so, he said you watch, Argentine tennis has an unbelievable

:51:58. > :53:03.capacity tos me things up. I said I hope so!

:53:04. > :53:11.Mess things up. I said I hope so! You were talking about Del Potro's

:53:12. > :53:17.demeanour yesterday, he is a very cool guy isn't he? So calm. Just

:53:18. > :53:19.seems to let nothing worry him. He can't tell the different whether he

:53:20. > :53:45.is winning or losing, the same face. Another outrageous angle from Jamie

:53:46. > :53:50.Murray. That shot he hit there, those shots are due to hours and

:53:51. > :53:54.hours of practising with buckets of balls being fired at you, from a

:53:55. > :54:01.foot away from the net. You have to put them away, or you go to hospital

:54:02. > :54:13.if you don't get your racket in the way in time. Have you ever taken one

:54:14. > :54:17.full in the face? One reflex volley hit me in the eye once, you learn to

:54:18. > :54:22.get quick, pretty quickly. That happens.

:54:23. > :54:45.Your back swing becomes shorter all of a sudden.

:54:46. > :55:08.In our vacuum sealed commentary box it seems loud. How loud is it down

:55:09. > :55:15.there in the mosh pit, Jamie. We have been down here court side. One

:55:16. > :55:20.of the things so far is that the goodbye team are rejuvenated. We can

:55:21. > :55:24.see, there is not a space out here, and there is every single member of

:55:25. > :55:28.the team, including the Stringer sat out here, so I think Lyon sit Smith

:55:29. > :55:34.and the rest of team had a talk last night and said come on, let's raise

:55:35. > :55:37.our energy, on the court it has been Jamie Murray leading the team in

:55:38. > :55:41.that first set. We mentioned before the match how good his net play, he

:55:42. > :55:46.has been all over the net, Andy Murray has been doing his thing, he

:55:47. > :55:50.has served welling return well but Jamie Murray, the Argentinians have

:55:51. > :55:53.felt like they can't get the ball away him. All the problems are with

:55:54. > :55:56.the Argentinian, they are spending time at the back of court. I don't

:55:57. > :55:59.think that is going to be the answer to the Murray problem but Glasgow

:56:00. > :56:05.are delighted with that start for GB.

:56:06. > :56:09.Interesting point Jamie made there about playing at the back of the

:56:10. > :56:13.court. Just tell us, from a Del Potro point of view, OK, a

:56:14. > :56:17.phenomenal tennis player with a capital P but he doesn't play

:56:18. > :56:21.doubles much, if a all, so what are the challenges that he faces today,

:56:22. > :56:26.that he wouldn't face if his normal day job, if you like. Well, I mean,

:56:27. > :56:29.the big example for me is his backhand, in singles he can hit that

:56:30. > :56:33.crosscourt and slice, you know because he has the whole court. And

:56:34. > :56:37.it is difficult to guilt at it in double, they are coming at him.

:56:38. > :56:40.They, he knows he has to make a good return of serve and they are

:56:41. > :56:44.volleying it back and he has to hit a passing shot. He has been out of

:56:45. > :56:47.his normal game plan, and that is manager he is not used to. That is

:56:48. > :56:53.what the Brits are targeting right now. He is not used to coming to the

:56:54. > :56:55.net as much, and he is mixing up, staying back, it's a totally

:56:56. > :57:10.different game. He finally made one, but for Diop,

:57:11. > :57:17.serving is and stay back, when you have to got two volleyers like Andy

:57:18. > :57:22.Murray and Jamie Murray, I can't see how you will hold your serve.

:57:23. > :57:28.Occasionally you will, the odds are against you, if they can find Del

:57:29. > :57:31.Potro's backhand. Are you surprised he is playing on the backhand? Well,

:57:32. > :58:02.a... A little bit. If he can keep a high percentage of

:58:03. > :58:09.first serves in, he gives a chance to mix it up and fake, sometimes go,

:58:10. > :58:40.sometimes stay. Serve like that you can stay back where ever you want.

:58:41. > :58:45.Very solid hold from Del Potro, who I am sure most of you watching know

:58:46. > :58:49.more than enough about but you might not know much about his partner,

:58:50. > :58:54.Mayer. All you need to know about him is if you think that was a long

:58:55. > :59:00.match yesterday, between Murray and Del Potro, they barely started

:59:01. > :59:04.because Mayer holds the record jointly with Souza of the longest

:59:05. > :59:09.singles match in the history of the Davis Cup, last year and it took six

:59:10. > :59:13.hours and 43 minutes. And it was after that match they changed the

:59:14. > :59:18.rules of the Davis Cup, so we don't have a tie-break or we do have

:59:19. > :59:21.rather a tie-break in the fifth set. That is the man in the forehand

:59:22. > :59:57.corner here. That was Jamie Murray there, when he

:59:58. > :00:02.hit that half-volley. Went to the wrong place on the court there,

:00:03. > :00:07.right to Del Potro's forehand. This one here, that is the wrong place to

:00:08. > :00:11.hit that one to. He did well to reflex that back. The Brits have

:00:12. > :00:15.changed rotation on the serve. Andy Murray is serving first in this set

:00:16. > :00:19.because they want to keep the same ends, not that there is any

:00:20. > :00:30.difference with the wind or anything!

:00:31. > :00:37.If Del Potro's backhand in doubles is going to be perhaps the Achilles

:00:38. > :00:40.heel, would it have been more vulnerable on the right-hand side of

:00:41. > :00:54.the court or the left-hand side? Left-hand side. So perhaps

:00:55. > :00:59.surprising that he is playing. Yes. Trouble is against Jamie Murray, it

:01:00. > :01:03.is very difficult for him to hit the forehand, the swerve of the serve is

:01:04. > :01:11.taken out to his backhand side. Even on a second serve it is not easy for

:01:12. > :01:16.him to run round.s. 131mph. That was a statement of

:01:17. > :02:39.intent. That was an excellent second serve.

:02:40. > :02:44.99mph. The first slight opening that the Argentinian team have had. That

:02:45. > :02:49.was big. And that was after he just served a double fault, as well. I

:02:50. > :02:53.must say, a sensational catch by our main floor manager Chris down in the

:02:54. > :03:07.slips. Brilliant! One-handed above his head.

:03:08. > :04:00.A bit of a sloppy game here. Would do well to get out of this game.

:04:01. > :04:04.This is where not surprising to see Jamie Murray crossing on this one.

:04:05. > :04:12.Help his brother out a bit. He has just lost his rhythm on his serve. A

:04:13. > :04:16.couple of doubles. Easy volley. Del Potro may be thinking the same thing

:04:17. > :04:22.here. Whether I should hit this one down the line. These are all

:04:23. > :04:25.thoughts that go through your mind here.

:04:26. > :04:49.He has a second serve to go at. This is dangerous.

:04:50. > :04:56.A loose game, if you were being critical. Yeah, it was. That's the

:04:57. > :05:02.first break of serve in this second set. First set is done and dusted.

:05:03. > :05:08.It's just one one in the bag. You start from scratch again. Here are

:05:09. > :05:12.the Argentinians in control early on in this second set.

:05:13. > :05:20.No need to panic, though. You do feel like there is a lot of breaks

:05:21. > :05:22.on this court with this doubles pairing from the Argentinians. The

:05:23. > :05:26.court is not that fast. The Brits will get a chance to break in this

:05:27. > :06:32.set. It was a very long conversation

:06:33. > :06:38.before that serve was hit but that clearly was, I am going to hit it on

:06:39. > :06:46.the backhand side, you cross, you hit the winner away and that's

:06:47. > :06:51.exactly what happened. If you are wondering, we do have time

:06:52. > :06:54.violations in Davis Cup, as well. You can't just talk, but obviously

:06:55. > :07:55.as the tension mounts the conversations do get longer.

:07:56. > :08:00.UMPIRE: Argentina challenging the call. I am not sure it was Mayer

:08:01. > :08:04.that challenged that, it was del Potro from the other side of the

:08:05. > :08:14.court thought it had gone wide. He was right.

:08:15. > :08:36.That's a long way out. Off a slow ball, as well.

:08:37. > :08:43.The first set everything that the Murrays touched turned to gold, but

:08:44. > :08:48.it's King Midas in reverse at the moment. 3-0 to the Argentinians.

:08:49. > :08:52.There has been a palpable shift in momentum, and a change in the body

:08:53. > :08:59.language as the players, Jamie Murray is not so energised as at the

:09:00. > :09:03.start. And the umpire is having a word with the Argentinians about

:09:04. > :09:07.what, would you suspect? Well, it wouldn't surprise me if it's on

:09:08. > :09:12.time. You mentioned that. Before you said that I was thinking they're

:09:13. > :09:15.taking - getting very close to... I think he is winding his hand up

:09:16. > :09:18.there saying you have to have a shift on when having conversations.

:09:19. > :09:23.If that's true that's good umpiring. It's good to give them a warning and

:09:24. > :09:27.once it happens, rather than this sort of random where they sometimes

:09:28. > :09:33.call it out in the middle of a vital point without a warning. Yeah,

:09:34. > :09:38.ridiculous sometimes. If that's what it was, which I think it was, it's

:09:39. > :09:44.just putting something in their mind to know that next time...

:09:45. > :09:48.One sloppy game from Andy Murray there. Mentally went off a bit. It

:09:49. > :09:53.can happen. It's a five-set match. They've got to now, Jamie Murray has

:09:54. > :09:56.to do the captain's job so to speak on the court here really. Play a

:09:57. > :10:00.good service game here, they can still break back. It's a long way to

:10:01. > :10:34.go. No messing around from Andy Murray.

:10:35. > :10:43.I will happy hit it at you! And not miss. Such a shrewd volley there

:10:44. > :10:46.from Jamie Murray, that short ball knowing that del Potro is not the

:10:47. > :10:49.quickest to get up there. He is going to have to hit the ball up in

:10:50. > :11:04.the air, which he did. I think that was in.

:11:05. > :11:10.Yeah, it was a little revenge! He went up to hit that forehand there

:11:11. > :11:15.was only place that was going, straight at Andy! This was party

:11:16. > :11:17.central at 2.00 and at the end of the first set. But there is real

:11:18. > :11:33.tension now in the Emirates Arena. That almost took Andy Murray's head

:11:34. > :11:42.off although he was getting out of the way of it.

:11:43. > :12:18.Just an absolutely brilliant volley. You heard Andy Murray say well

:12:19. > :12:23.played. Not many players would have the imagination to hit that volley,

:12:24. > :12:29.let alone the technique. Again targeting the speed and the size of

:12:30. > :12:38.del Potro knowing that he can't get to it to hit at it, he can only push

:12:39. > :12:59.the ball up. And that's when the Brits take charge of the rally.

:13:00. > :13:13.Ha! So close to the net. Del Potro's inquirying whether he

:13:14. > :13:22.touched the net or not. They're both smiling about it, I

:13:23. > :13:31.think. One or two boos from the crowd, but I don't think Jamie

:13:32. > :13:47.Murray touched the net. Got a bit agitated there. Yeah. He might have

:13:48. > :13:53.done, you know. Very close. That was serious show-boating by Jamie, mind

:13:54. > :13:59.you. We needed the goal-line technology that they have in

:14:00. > :14:02.football. Super hawk eye. I think he did touch the net, it doesn't matter

:14:03. > :14:21.anyway. Thank heavens no one was watching!

:14:22. > :14:34.That's why he got... Ha! If a player does that to the referee at Ibrox

:14:35. > :15:23.down the road this afternoon, they're off! He is not happy.

:15:24. > :15:39.Well played by Andy. The ball dipping down at del Potro.

:15:40. > :15:45.That's the man yesterday the camera couldn't take their eyes off, he was

:15:46. > :15:48.wearing the Argentine shirt yesterday. Not sure what that one is

:15:49. > :16:04.today. Backhand from Jamie Errant and it's

:16:05. > :16:25.4-1. They didn't know where they were as

:16:26. > :16:29.a team and were all over the place. Unfortunately that one sloppy game

:16:30. > :16:34.from Andy Murray that just let them in and they're up 4-1. I don't think

:16:35. > :16:37.it's all of a sudden they're playing amazingly well, I think it's just

:16:38. > :16:46.that one sloppy game. In men's doubles, you know, one break can be

:16:47. > :16:51.enough to win the set. Ha! He is still... I don't think we have a

:16:52. > :16:56.definitive answer for him either, whether Jamie hit the net or not.

:16:57. > :17:01.But the bottom line is you are 4-1 up, get over it! I would be careful

:17:02. > :17:09.about pulling the umpire's tie from now on, as well! He is a big man,

:17:10. > :17:13.del Potro. The poor old umpire will fall out of the chair. The debate is

:17:14. > :17:27.still going on. Who would be an umpire! I don't

:17:28. > :17:32.know. But the umpires must love Davis Cup ties like this. Compared

:17:33. > :17:35.to the run of the mill, a first round match in some tournament.

:17:36. > :17:40.Whatever it might be, in front of a half empty stadium. This is what

:17:41. > :17:43.it's about. Yeah. There is a man who controls things, the Speaker of the

:17:44. > :18:00.House of Commons. He deals with a real Rabble every Wednesday.

:18:01. > :18:35.Mayer is playing much better now. Yeah.

:18:36. > :18:46.After his last service game, Andy is going to want to get back into a

:18:47. > :18:49.more positive groove here. Oh, that's brilliant from Jamie.

:18:50. > :18:58.Instinctive, but fantastic reactions.

:18:59. > :19:08.I think this was actually going out, but no matter from that high, to hit

:19:09. > :19:09.that angle, that is just - he manoeuvred the racquet head that

:19:10. > :19:23.way. Soft hands, as well. Amazing.

:19:24. > :19:29.Certainly the cameraman on those sides are always in danger when

:19:30. > :19:56.Jamie Murray is around, because the angles go right at them every time.

:19:57. > :20:02.That was almost... Well, it was like a practice drill. How many volleys

:20:03. > :20:04.can we hit here with keeping the ball up in the air? Don't know what

:20:05. > :20:30.was going on there. That volley was too. Very strange.

:20:31. > :20:37.Not sure if he was trying to hit a drop volley on that one. It ended up

:20:38. > :20:43.mid-court, just almost giving the point away. Very strange couple of

:20:44. > :20:52.volleys in a row. This mental lapse coming in here. The fatigue, you

:20:53. > :20:56.know, it's not focussing. Let's see if Jamie can help him out a bit

:20:57. > :21:17.here. Well played again, Jamie!

:21:18. > :21:59.That was a real, he ain't heavy, he's my brother moment.

:22:00. > :22:23.The crowd sense it, as well. They know Andy is struggling a bit.

:22:24. > :22:38.A bit ragged but that was an important hold. Good volleys from

:22:39. > :22:43.Jamie in a row there. All these long conversations, on both sides of the

:22:44. > :22:48.net, who decides? Is it the server who has the final call? It is, but

:22:49. > :23:30.there is a captain on the team. Buono from the Argentine bench,

:23:31. > :23:34.good-good. Thought Andy's lob had got them back into the rally, but

:23:35. > :23:46.then it drifted away. We spoke about that at the last

:23:47. > :23:51.service game. There was a long conversation with the umpire and the

:23:52. > :23:56.Argentine captain. There is the first time violation against the

:23:57. > :23:59.Argentine pair. It was odd, actually, because that

:24:00. > :24:11.was shorter than the conversation they had before. Yeah. Maybe it

:24:12. > :24:41.unnerved del Potro, as well. Or if not unnerved, annoyed.

:24:42. > :24:47.It's had the desired effect because they're certainly get ago shift on

:24:48. > :24:52.now between points. -- get ago shift on now between points.

:24:53. > :24:57.-- getting a shift on now between points. A great return from Andy.

:24:58. > :25:10.The put away from Jamie. Wonder how much court Jamie Murray

:25:11. > :25:16.covered there. He sees it, makes his move and moves diagonally into the

:25:17. > :25:29.net there to get that ball early, rather than wait for it to dip.

:25:30. > :25:36.Takes it at its highest peak. That's a great shot.

:25:37. > :26:02.He saw that like a football. Look at that.

:26:03. > :26:09.Mayer is on fire. He's certainly gone up a level, no doubt about

:26:10. > :26:12.that. But, you know, going back to that break of serve at the early

:26:13. > :26:17.part of the second set, at that stage still the British team were on

:26:18. > :26:21.this sort of high. And they were in total domination. The Argentinian

:26:22. > :26:24.team didn't want to be on the court, they were getting rushed out of the

:26:25. > :26:30.game. That break that Andy, obviously didn't mean to, but the

:26:31. > :26:34.two doubles and easy volley, got them back into a belief factor which

:26:35. > :26:40.they didn't look like earning their way to it. Now their level's gone up

:26:41. > :26:43.now. Mayer now believes they can win this match. And is hitting these

:26:44. > :26:47.type of shots, certainly in the first set they were nowhere to be

:26:48. > :26:52.seen. That can happen. Doubles can change very quickly in momentum.

:26:53. > :26:58.Tennis is one of the great momentum games. Of course. You can be on the

:26:59. > :27:05.cusp of victory but just a lapse of concentration and it can suddenly be

:27:06. > :27:12.as far away as the proverbial pub in the desert. Absolutely. 5-2 always

:27:13. > :27:19.looks worse than it is if you are about to serve. So, as the Saltires

:27:20. > :27:23.are raised in front of us, Jamie Murray can hold here and then the

:27:24. > :27:30.pressure is on del Potro to serve out to make it one-set all.

:27:31. > :27:34.We have been playing just about an hour and as you would expect it's

:27:35. > :29:03.been riveting stuff. Andy Murray not happy about a

:29:04. > :29:04.cameraman in the far terracing, that was what he was complaining about

:29:05. > :29:23.there. And they have moved. Oh! That's the hardest forehand we

:29:24. > :29:29.have seen today, maybe even from yesterday. That was the pick-up to

:29:30. > :29:45.end all pick-ups. But that was hit with venom. Real menace. Goodness

:29:46. > :30:25.me! Del Potro getting an admiring glance there.

:30:26. > :30:29.Andy is always quick to encourage his brother and he was doing that

:30:30. > :31:41.there. Certainly returning better Del

:31:42. > :31:45.Potro. He is not hitting the two handed backhands that hard but he is

:31:46. > :31:51.leaning into it. He is directing it well. There is not that much pace,

:31:52. > :31:55.if you can hit them that low, it is not easy. He is hitting it on the

:31:56. > :31:57.rise an not giving them much chance to get into to hit that first

:31:58. > :33:07.volley. You made the point on the previous

:33:08. > :33:16.serve to that backhand, that he is certainly in the zone now, he is

:33:17. > :33:19.seeing it really really well. Of course the devastation that forehand

:33:20. > :33:44.caused yesterday, the instinct is not to serve there. Of course.

:33:45. > :33:53.This court speed, it is medium sort of slow if anything, and if you can

:33:54. > :34:00.get the first serve, you have a good return, it really sits.

:34:01. > :34:11.The first set was all Great Britain, and the second set going all the way

:34:12. > :34:54.of Argentina. Andy is not giving it up yet.

:34:55. > :35:01.It has been a real curates egg of a set for Andy Murray, the net result

:35:02. > :35:04.of which, is for the second time Jamie Murray now serving to stop

:35:05. > :36:32.this match going one set apiece. That is extraordinary on so many

:36:33. > :36:36.levels in terms of ball away, space awareness. A couple of shots from

:36:37. > :36:41.Jamie Murray but well done Del Potro. He moves well for a big man,

:36:42. > :36:43.you think he is not going to get to it. He sticks out that long arm and

:36:44. > :37:28.gets it back in to play. A rather strangulated desperate

:37:29. > :37:35.shout of come on Jamie. And sure enough he does. So Great Britain

:37:36. > :37:51.survive in this second set. You feel like Andy Murray crisis

:37:52. > :37:58.point, he is not going to miss a return in this game. She going to

:37:59. > :38:07.get every ball back. A fist pinch from -- punch from the two brothers

:38:08. > :38:10.in front of us. Now or never as far as it can second

:38:11. > :39:08.set is concerned. First double fault from the

:39:09. > :39:13.Argentine side. Of course it was the two double faults in the same game

:39:14. > :39:33.from Andy Murray, that precipitated this situation in the second set.

:39:34. > :39:40.First double fault from the Argentine side. Of course it was the

:39:41. > :39:42.two double faults in the same game from Andy Murray, that precipitated

:39:43. > :39:45.this situation in the second set. Get out of the way! And the older

:39:46. > :39:46.brother "I'm having that one." They worked really well at the start of

:39:47. > :40:16.the match. A very good cross, you have to hand

:40:17. > :40:20.it to them, 15-30, he knows that Del Potro is staying back, took the

:40:21. > :40:29.chance, going up against the Murray backhand return. Excellent cross.

:40:30. > :41:10.That return would have been deep into the corner.

:41:11. > :41:17.And so after nearly an hour and a quarter, a point for Argentina, to

:41:18. > :41:49.square things up at one set all. Good enough from Del Potro. A

:41:50. > :42:00.glimmer of hope for Great Britain at 15-30. We are all tied up at one set

:42:01. > :42:05.all. Argentines back in this match and two sets away now from winning

:42:06. > :42:10.the tie, so all to play for ball to play for in Croatia, against France

:42:11. > :42:17.where it was one all overnight. In the doubles Cilic has come into

:42:18. > :42:30.partner Dodig, they are taking on the much fancied Mahut. The

:42:31. > :42:34.Croatians are 8-6. There are the group play off, Svitolina are 2-1 up

:42:35. > :42:39.after winning the doubles in straight sets. Australia have

:42:40. > :42:49.completed their win against Slovakia, 3-0. Belgium are two up

:42:50. > :42:53.against Brazil. Canada two up against Chile. Rush have a busy tie

:42:54. > :42:58.against Kazakhstan, there was no play yesterday because of bad

:42:59. > :43:09.weather, two singles at a doubles match. Russia have won the opening

:43:10. > :43:15.one. Spain are 2-0 up. Nadal has come in for the doubles alongside

:43:16. > :43:19.Mark Lopez. They are a set point down their points so they are

:43:20. > :43:24.serving is at 5-4 to put India back in it. Germany 2-0 up and Japan

:43:25. > :43:29.completed their win Jens against Ukraine. That is what what is

:43:30. > :43:34.happening for those who are stiegting to say in the world group.

:43:35. > :43:45.So the players are back on court, so let us rejoin this one, one set all,

:43:46. > :43:49.all to play for. A quick word, you mention about the

:43:50. > :43:54.majority of people in the stadium at the Emirates and the overwhelming

:43:55. > :43:58.majority of people watching at home, the tennis they play is double, the

:43:59. > :44:03.one of the great things is intercepting at the time net. One of

:44:04. > :44:08.the key moments in that set was Mayer, going across. In the third

:44:09. > :44:13.play from the end there. Now, what point in the build up to that, do

:44:14. > :44:17.you think he had made the call? Well, they would have talked over

:44:18. > :44:21.beforehand, said if you get your first serve in and you go in this

:44:22. > :44:24.position I am going no matter what, the second serve, they would have

:44:25. > :44:30.gone back and talked about it again n the old days we didn't do that, it

:44:31. > :44:33.was on instinct. Now almost every time the points are planned. They

:44:34. > :44:37.talk about it beforehand and each player knows what the other is going

:44:38. > :44:42.to do before they hit it. It is a different way of playing. We are

:44:43. > :44:46.starting all over again in much the same we as we did yesterday when

:44:47. > :44:50.Andy and Del Potro were on opposite sides of the net again. It has gone

:44:51. > :45:42.from the best of five to the best of three.

:45:43. > :45:47.You will have noticed that the British team have decided to change

:45:48. > :45:57.ends when it comes to serving. Or maybe they have decided that

:45:58. > :46:01.Jamie Murray had to serve first, whatever I think that is what it

:46:02. > :46:03.was. He served first in the first set and they won, so Andy served

:46:04. > :46:38.first in the second, they lost it. Or maybe they have decided that

:46:39. > :46:40.Jamie or maybe they have decided that

:46:41. > :46:44.Jamie You heard Andy Murray saying "I'm

:46:45. > :46:49.going, yes I am." Let's see what happened.

:46:50. > :46:52.I think he may have said I am going here, he had the sign at back.

:46:53. > :47:02.Interesting the microphone that picked that up is the umpire's

:47:03. > :47:04.microphone. Exactly. Bluff counter bluff, triple bluff. A game of

:47:05. > :47:34.poker! And finally somebody has been hit.

:47:35. > :47:39.Exciting stuff from the British due you at the -- duo at the start of

:47:40. > :47:57.this first set. -- third set.

:47:58. > :48:07.Long discussion taking place between the Murray brothers down at our end

:48:08. > :48:19.here. Mayer has changed his racket.

:48:20. > :48:27.There is only so much you can say when you are about to receive serve,

:48:28. > :48:31.isn't there? Only if, you know, if I make this return you go. You can

:48:32. > :48:48.cover basically it. Can't afford to miss shots like

:48:49. > :49:10.that. He has been playing so well. Yes.

:49:11. > :49:22.Oh, terrible volley there. Two poor points in a row. Swung too quickly

:49:23. > :49:26.on that volley. An easy volley. This one here just completely

:49:27. > :49:30.mis-hit it. He hit the ball behind him, then he was in big trouble. You

:49:31. > :49:32.could say it was Jamie Murray that won the first set and Mayer that won

:49:33. > :49:47.the second. And Jamie will be disappointed by

:49:48. > :49:50.that, from love 30, that was an opportunity to... His forehand

:49:51. > :49:54.return, because he blocks it, he doesn't have the confidence to come

:49:55. > :49:58.over the ball, he either lobs or he normally hits that early and comes

:49:59. > :50:19.in behind it. That one he got it too late. Then he is in big trouble.

:50:20. > :50:33.Del Potro has been serving a lot of balls to the Andy Murray foreand in

:50:34. > :50:41.this doubles. Mayer will be hugely relieved he saw that one all right.

:50:42. > :50:59.Dan vane, stocking up for tomorrow. -- Dan Evans.

:51:00. > :51:11.This is just what you want, a break opportunity. It is Del Potro against

:51:12. > :51:24.Andy Murray. It is that forehand again.

:51:25. > :51:31.Missing very few. And you would hear that Andy had a few words to say to

:51:32. > :51:56.himself after missing that. Oh, Jamie Murray that is

:51:57. > :51:59.sensational. A lot of these engagements at the net, the

:52:00. > :52:02.Argentine seem to go at Jamie Murray, and particularly the way

:52:03. > :52:06.they have been playing you would think they would focus more on Andy

:52:07. > :52:11.Murray, because Jamie at the net is sensational.

:52:12. > :52:19.You can see how far back Andy is there, not sure why hay are not

:52:20. > :52:24.going at him more. That is the first time Del Potro

:52:25. > :52:34.swerved to Murray's backhand in an eternity.

:52:35. > :52:36.Very very early stages of this third set, this feels like a very

:52:37. > :53:09.important game. Where do you reckon Del Potro goes

:53:10. > :53:23.now? He will go back to the forehand.

:53:24. > :53:35.Into the body. That is always a third option? Exactly!

:53:36. > :53:45.What a cross. What a cross that was. Mayer was shaky at the start of that

:53:46. > :56:06.game, but that was so decisive. I am not sure if Andy left this. I

:56:07. > :56:08.think he did. It wouldn't have been an easy volley

:56:09. > :56:33.but he could have got it. I am sure for one agonising moment

:56:34. > :56:36.Jamie thought that was going to land on the net and it developed like a

:56:37. > :56:42.stone on his side. There is is a good shot as well.

:56:43. > :56:44.Kyle Edmund and Dan Evans in the foreground, looking on as their

:56:45. > :57:19.team-mates battle it out. Important hold. Another great volley

:57:20. > :57:39.from Jamie Murray. You are right, it was a crucial game

:57:40. > :57:44.there, and to me, before, Andy Murray looks to, he just looks jaded

:57:45. > :57:52.out here, it is a fight for him. Del Potro, he looks fresh as a daisy. I

:57:53. > :57:57.am sure he is not after yesterday's marathon, the but the way he... Andy

:57:58. > :58:01.looks like, this is a real fight, just to give that extra bit going,

:58:02. > :58:05.he looks a bit slow on the return of serve, not reacting adds quick as

:58:06. > :58:11.normle. This is a battle for him and this is where Jamie, he has played

:58:12. > :58:15.so well, and has to keep up this level, because this is not an easy

:58:16. > :58:20.easy match, we thought it was going to be the way they started off. Not

:58:21. > :58:25.now, the serves are sitting up. The Argentinians are get a lot of good

:58:26. > :58:28.returns. Del Potro looks more comfortable. Mayer has improved

:58:29. > :58:40.since the begin of the first set where he was nervous and this is a

:58:41. > :58:48.tough match now. Andy Murray walks back, and Jamie Murray bounds back.

:58:49. > :58:50.And we said it at the start but he has to be the captain of this team

:58:51. > :59:28.today. Somebody has brought us a boxes of

:59:29. > :59:47.energy bar, does that mean they think it is going to be a long one?

:59:48. > :59:59.That is the first shout of come on. Exactly. From Andy in this match. It

:00:00. > :00:00.is almost as much to show to his opponent, just as much as to

:00:01. > :00:17.himself. He would have loved that one to have

:00:18. > :01:03.clipped the back of the line. Two top-class returns from Andy

:01:04. > :01:10.Murray. Yeah, that's what we really haven't seen today. Those type of

:01:11. > :01:16.returns. Andy Murray gets in a groove, you feel like he is never

:01:17. > :01:22.going to miss. Two break points and it's a while since Great Britain

:01:23. > :02:02.have seen any of those. So what can they do?

:02:03. > :03:40.That's just excellent serving there from Mayer. Some big serves and then

:03:41. > :03:45.that last one changed the pace, altered the spin. Andy Murray there

:03:46. > :03:50.hit the ball too early, ready for the power serve. Excellent serving.

:03:51. > :03:56.That was a big hold for the Argentinians. An opportunity perhaps

:03:57. > :04:00.missed by Great Britain. But we are still on serve. Early stages of this

:04:01. > :04:08.third set. That's just what you don't want at

:04:09. > :04:20.the net. The noise is coming from the

:04:21. > :04:33.Argentinian fans. They're sensing this is a crucial

:04:34. > :05:01.stage of this match. Had a long time to think about this.

:05:02. > :05:40.That was beautifully executed. Such an improved part of his game,

:05:41. > :05:46.the second serve. That was 102 there. I remember a couple of years

:05:47. > :05:48.ago those second serves would be in the low 80s at times and would sit

:05:49. > :06:11.up. That one had a lot of pace. And that increase in the speed on

:06:12. > :06:15.Murray's serve, is that just the speed of the racquet arm? It's a

:06:16. > :06:20.combination. One of the things he has done is lored the ball toss, so

:06:21. > :06:32.he is hitting it more on the drop. Used to be a much higher ball toss.

:06:33. > :06:35.But he is going for it more now. Emphatic enough from Andy at the

:06:36. > :06:48.net, as well. As long as they keep serving first

:06:49. > :06:53.and keep holding serve, they keep edging ahead. Great theatre. You

:06:54. > :06:57.think about the Davis Cup ties over the last couple of years, as Great

:06:58. > :07:01.Britain have grown, last year champions and this year to defend

:07:02. > :07:05.the title, these Saturday games have been pivotal in determining the ties

:07:06. > :07:09.and invariably Great Britain, more often than not with the Murray

:07:10. > :07:15.brothers playing, have won them which has taken them on to victory

:07:16. > :07:20.in the tie and ultimately last year to winning the trophy. When you look

:07:21. > :07:26.back at that match in Coventry only three years ago, Great Britain 2-0

:07:27. > :07:34.down to Russia and I am sure everybody thinking that's it, game

:07:35. > :07:38.over. They started what was a very unlikely comeback and actually it

:07:39. > :07:43.was in many ways kick-started the three glorious years of Davis Cup

:07:44. > :07:47.campaigns. The key thing 2-0 down and it's only happened - how many

:07:48. > :07:52.times? Ten times in 35 years, which is not a lot. No. Once every

:07:53. > :07:56.three-and-a-half years, and it has happened once this year already with

:07:57. > :08:02.Croatia against the USA. But while you are in it, you are still in it.

:08:03. > :08:40.They have to do it like that. Yeah, absolutely.

:08:41. > :09:23.Not sure why he went for that shot. Jamie Murray was on his way to net

:09:24. > :09:27.there. Andy had hit that solidly, come in against del Potro. You would

:09:28. > :09:30.have thought they would have been the favourite in that rally, it was

:09:31. > :09:54.a strange shot selection there. Communication wasn't good there.

:09:55. > :10:00.Andy moved to cross and then pulled back at the last minute. That one

:10:01. > :10:05.there. And Jamie really was sort of unsighted, really couldn't do much

:10:06. > :11:00.with the ball and ended up losing the rally.

:11:01. > :11:07.That's a case there of making somebody play the extra ball,

:11:08. > :11:13.because you never know what might happen. How quick were his reactions

:11:14. > :11:15.here? First one was a great body shot. Most people would have been

:11:16. > :11:21.heading for the hills on that one and turning their back and running

:11:22. > :11:36.but he stood his ground there. Great reflex volley.

:11:37. > :11:47.Leon Smith just said, come on, Andy, now. Which I suppose is dictated to

:11:48. > :12:00.by what del Potro does with his serve.

:12:01. > :12:06.It was a good enough return but Del Potro not looking like a player who

:12:07. > :12:10.is unfamiliar with doubles now. No, he is playing very well. An example

:12:11. > :12:15.there, he doesn't hit it that hard at the moment, still worried about

:12:16. > :12:21.that wrist, but he is accurate with it. He finds angles and finds lines

:12:22. > :12:26.when he needs to. If you are watching this afternoon and don't

:12:27. > :12:30.know much about del Potro, the US Open champion seven years ago, a

:12:31. > :12:33.succession of wrist injuries and fighting his way back now you

:12:34. > :14:05.suspect to the top of the game. Second serve is getting attacked.

:14:06. > :14:16.91mph, not terrible, but just seemed to sit. Mayer is really getting a

:14:17. > :14:22.good piece of that serve. Today is way more a test of Andy Murray's

:14:23. > :14:32.willpower than his tennis ability. Yeah.

:14:33. > :14:50.Right into the hitting zone of the del Potro forehand, didn't like the

:14:51. > :14:53.look of that when that one came over but del Potro seemed to not move his

:14:54. > :14:57.feet enough there and got caught. Maybe thought he was going to blast

:14:58. > :15:33.it down the line. Needs a first serve now. This is

:15:34. > :15:37.where you have to really pull deep. Has had three first serves in the

:15:38. > :15:43.top of the net. Means he is not reaching up high enough. Has to pull

:15:44. > :15:46.from the stomach and really exert yourself. Reach up on this serve.

:15:47. > :16:00.Keep that left shoulder up. UMPIRE: Let. First service. Great

:16:01. > :16:05.Britain have had a break opportunity in this set and haven't taken them.

:16:06. > :16:10.This is a huge chance for arrange tinnia.

:16:11. > :16:23.-- Argentina. Well, doesn't matter where you hit

:16:24. > :16:27.it, off what part of the racquet, as long as it goes over. Andy Murray

:16:28. > :16:30.shaking his fist with real passion there, saying to the crowd, we

:16:31. > :16:39.actually need your help here. We need the net sometimes like that,

:16:40. > :16:45.but we need you too. The barmy Army have been a bit quiet the last quart

:16:46. > :16:49.-- quarter of an hour or so, outshouted by the Argentines, but

:16:50. > :17:08.pumping up the volume now. That was a poor forehand volley

:17:09. > :17:23.there. Really snatched at that one, didn't stay low.

:17:24. > :17:39.Second break opportunity for del Potro.

:17:40. > :17:52.And he's made it. Down the line. How key is that shot going to be in

:17:53. > :18:00.the context, not just of this match, but of the tie as a whole? Andy just

:18:01. > :18:06.smacked his racquet there. He is very frustrated. Just guided that

:18:07. > :18:12.backhand down the line but he anticipated that Jamie was going to

:18:13. > :18:17.cross. And just did enough. Steely eyes and real concentration on the

:18:18. > :18:23.face of del Potro there. His expression never changes. He is a

:18:24. > :18:25.bit like Bjorg used to be. He had the same expression, you could never

:18:26. > :18:30.tell whether he was winning or losing. It's unnerving really. In

:18:31. > :18:33.pressure situations he gives the same look. It is one of those things

:18:34. > :18:38.that we will never know the answer to. If he hadn't had such a

:18:39. > :18:42.succession of injuries, I wonder how many Grand Slams he would have won

:18:43. > :18:49.by now? Five, six? Definitely he would have won a few. No way he

:18:50. > :18:54.wouldn't have done. When he won the US Open in 2009 he had beaten Nadal

:18:55. > :19:07.and Federer in successive matches when they were absolutely at their

:19:08. > :19:13.peak. He was only 19 too. He is playing like a man with real belief

:19:14. > :19:17.now. You can see that from the performance against Murray in Rio in

:19:18. > :19:21.the final and Andy won in four, yesterday del Potro was a little bit

:19:22. > :19:25.more at home, at ease, self-belief and all that sort of stuff. Look at

:19:26. > :19:35.his demeanour on the court today. He is a man on a mission and he knows

:19:36. > :19:42.what he has to do. Dan Evans exorting the Murrays to great effort

:19:43. > :19:49.here. He may still have a huge role to play in this tie. Great Britain

:19:50. > :20:12.will take a few loose shots like that at the moment.

:20:13. > :21:07.That was not a good time for one of those.

:21:08. > :21:28.Mayer thought that was an ace but they're happy that it was just long.

:21:29. > :22:30.So is Jamie Murray. They were broken a few moments ago.

:22:31. > :22:35.Never a better time than to break back immediately. Not sure del Potro

:22:36. > :22:39.has hit a ball in this game yet. It's been all about Mayer. Hit or

:22:40. > :23:57.miss. What are we going to get here? Two more chances go begging for

:23:58. > :24:00.Great Britain. Jamie Murray throwing his racquet down in disgust at the

:24:01. > :24:42.end of that. Good reflex volley there from Andy

:24:43. > :24:45.Murray. Should have dipped the ball lower than that. This individual

:24:46. > :24:48.game has been all over the place in terms of the quality of the play

:24:49. > :24:51.from both sides of the net. The net result is it's a third break

:24:52. > :25:13.opportunity for Great Britain to get back to all-square.

:25:14. > :25:36.Andy Murray comes alive! Order, order!

:25:37. > :25:48.The sleeping giant awakens. And we're back to all-square. One

:25:49. > :25:57.set all, four games all. Two hours of play. Heaven alone knows what's

:25:58. > :26:14.coming up next! What Great Britain did not want next

:26:15. > :27:02.was a double fault. They held their ground well there. I

:27:03. > :27:08.thought when del Potro wound up with that forehand they were in big

:27:09. > :27:31.trouble, but good reflex there from Andy Murray.

:27:32. > :27:41.Extraordinary you can hear the whole conversation about who's going where

:27:42. > :27:46.when Jamie Murray is serving. Is that a double bluff, do you

:27:47. > :27:50.think? Because the Argentines must be able to hear that, because it's

:27:51. > :28:19.coming out on the umpire's microphone. You would think so.

:28:20. > :28:32.Well played Mayer there but great scrambling by the British pair too.

:28:33. > :28:37.Here we are right in the heart of this match. And potentially the

:28:38. > :30:03.whole tie, as well. 1-1, 4-4, 30-30. Fabulous. For my latest trick...

:30:04. > :30:07.Just a little lucky on that one. I am going to play a drop shot,

:30:08. > :30:11.turning my back on the ball, and allowing it to just nudge off the

:30:12. > :30:15.edge of my racket. Again, when that whined up came on

:30:16. > :30:20.the forehand you knew there was going to be trouble from Del Potro.

:30:21. > :30:28.This is about self preservation for Andy Murray. He turns to the side

:30:29. > :30:37.and he got his racket in the way. Ended up to be a beautiful drop

:30:38. > :30:43.volley. It is tense, you can feel the way

:30:44. > :30:47.that the tension has upped over the last 20 minutes or so. Break points

:30:48. > :30:51.opportunities here and there, the British were broken, then they break

:30:52. > :30:57.back, and the key thing there was to just nudge ahead again, because now,

:30:58. > :31:02.the Argentinians will come out and serve to stay in the set. And that

:31:03. > :31:03.is a very different position to what they were in, barely five minutes

:31:04. > :31:37.ago. Ago. Everyone the ultimate demonstration

:31:38. > :31:42.of calm, by Del Potro, even he might be feeling one or two little butter

:31:43. > :32:37.threes here. New balls though.

:32:38. > :32:50.I don't know what Del Potro was thinking there.

:32:51. > :33:08.He fed this right into the strength, the backhand volley of Jamie Murray.

:33:09. > :33:27.Huge intake of breath by 8,000 people as the ball hovered towards

:33:28. > :33:30.the baseline. Was it in, was it out? It was out. A big back swing on that

:33:31. > :34:08.volley. You can see from Andy jumping up and

:34:09. > :34:54.down there. He thought he was going to have that.

:34:55. > :35:06.What a rally that was, Excellent point. Good communication. Knowing

:35:07. > :35:16.their job, closing the gap at the net.

:35:17. > :35:24.So after a third set of real ebb and flow, it looked like the

:35:25. > :35:30.Argentinians were in control ten minutes ago. Now, a first set point.

:35:31. > :35:45.For Great Britain on the Del Potro serve.

:35:46. > :36:02.Made it! He saw it and he made it. And Great Britain take a two sets to

:36:03. > :36:07.one lead in this enthralling doubles, if Great Britain was to win

:36:08. > :36:16.it, it would keep the tie alive. Let us go down to court side. I am sure

:36:17. > :36:26.the atmosphere is absolutely phenomenal. Jamie Bake e what is it

:36:27. > :36:31.hike down there? It a tough day yesterday, what did we do to lift

:36:32. > :36:35.the team today. Disappointing, as I say, so me motions, and it was one

:36:36. > :36:40.of those tough gay days but today was a new day, we said, you know,

:36:41. > :36:48.zero, zero fresh start, let us take it to them. The end of that set went

:36:49. > :36:52.really well. From a break how did the boys manage to turn it round? I

:36:53. > :36:56.don't know, they obviously during the match there was momentum

:36:57. > :37:00.swimmings and you trying to figure out stuff, try to find patterns that

:37:01. > :37:04.work and they have owned some of that really quick, hopefully we keep

:37:05. > :37:07.it going to the fourth. Given the match yesterday and what could

:37:08. > :37:12.happen tomorrow, are you surprised that Del Potro is playing in this

:37:13. > :37:17.doubles? Yes, a bit. I thought maybe he would have liked to rest but at

:37:18. > :37:21.the same time it is similar to Andy, you know, they are competitors and

:37:22. > :37:25.they want to Maevery match they can, at the same time it is not

:37:26. > :37:30.surprising they want to get out on court and win. Thanks.

:37:31. > :37:44.Thoughts now? Well... When was the last boring Davis Cup doubles match

:37:45. > :37:50.on a Saturday featuring Great Britain? They are always just

:37:51. > :37:54.agonising, normally, exhilarating at the end from a British perspective

:37:55. > :37:57.but there is still a long want I to go here. Del Potro's Prime

:37:58. > :38:03.Minister's Questions has not changed. No. You wouldn't know if he

:38:04. > :38:07.was up two sets to one or down two sets to one. But he is down. Wfrnts

:38:08. > :38:15.We will have to tell him that. So we are stuck with Jamie Murray

:38:16. > :38:51.serving first again, in this set. So we are stuck with Jamie Murray

:38:52. > :38:55.serving first again, in this set. Don't want to tempt fate but Andy is

:38:56. > :39:00.playing better tan he was half an hour ago Yes, he has got that extra

:39:01. > :39:02.bit of life in him now, he looked a bit flat, now he is certainly not.

:39:03. > :41:39.He looks anything but that. Judy watched the whole match

:41:40. > :41:41.yesterday without demonstrating too much emotion but she right into this

:41:42. > :42:42.now. UMPIRE: First game fourth set. It is

:42:43. > :42:46.engrossing stuff, if you have been with us since the word go you won

:42:47. > :42:53.want to miss a single shot. Shot. In the next two or three minutes we

:42:54. > :43:02.will leave BBC One to go over to BBC Two, as Final Score will be on BBC

:43:03. > :43:08.One. You can sneak across to BBC Two with us and see the climax, it might

:43:09. > :43:11.not be the climax, it might be the next instalment, the climax could be

:43:12. > :43:13.hours away. But any way, you can follow the rest of this match on BBC

:43:14. > :44:10.Two for as long as it takes. SUE BARKER: At this point we welcome

:44:11. > :44:14.viewers on BBC as our coverage is on BBC Two. Andy and Jamie Murray have

:44:15. > :44:20.taken the third set to go two sets to one up. So final score is coming

:44:21. > :44:21.up. If you want to continue
