:00:46. > :00:58.Straight sets a game! Supreme performance at a first-class

:00:59. > :01:04.tournament, Andy Murray. What a match and a victory for Andy

:01:05. > :01:08.Murray. Was it really just five days ago that we were celebrating on

:01:09. > :01:13.Centre Court with Andy Murray? We will be talking all things Andy with

:01:14. > :01:18.Jamie and Andy in the build-up to the match. But Wimbledon has taken

:01:19. > :01:22.its toll and he is not competing in this tie as the British team

:01:23. > :01:27.continue their defence of the Davis Cup. So with no Murray, it is the

:01:28. > :01:29.time for the rest of the British team to step up.

:01:30. > :02:14.Good work at the net from Edmund. Oh, unrealistic smack fabulous move.

:02:15. > :02:20.-- the tie will be played at the Tasmajdan Stadium in Belgrade. Great

:02:21. > :02:26.Britain will be tested on the clay. I don't know what has happened about

:02:27. > :02:30.our sum of tennis. It rained at the French Open, at Queen, and at

:02:31. > :02:34.Wimbledon and it is raining in Belgrade as well. The forecast is

:02:35. > :02:40.for showers. The only good news is that it is playing on the plate so

:02:41. > :02:43.there will be no delays after the shallows have gone. Some British

:02:44. > :02:48.fans have travelled out to Belgrade to support the team and hopefully

:02:49. > :02:53.there will be tennis for them to watch. But not great news as far as

:02:54. > :02:54.tennis is concerned at the moment. But we will move on and tell you

:02:55. > :03:07.about the team. No Andy and no Novak Djokovic. Also

:03:08. > :03:14.Viktor Troicki elected to miss the tie. Tipsarevic is a top player but

:03:15. > :03:17.his ranking tumbled when surgery took him out for a few months. So

:03:18. > :03:30.this is how the weekend looks. The first match is it with James

:03:31. > :03:40.wore too often exceeds his expectations. So what has happened,

:03:41. > :03:44.with the weather, Jamie? It is not easy and the nerves are already

:03:45. > :03:50.jangling for Kyle and James. It's not good but at least it's on a clay

:03:51. > :03:56.court. At least it depends how heavy that brain is. If it is drizzle, you

:03:57. > :04:00.can play on. We saw that at the French Open. It has to rain pretty

:04:01. > :04:06.hard for them to stop. And once you have had a few days, you will play

:04:07. > :04:11.in pouring rain, just get this thing finished! We saw that at Wimbledon,

:04:12. > :04:15.people were happy to play a few points in the rain. Heavy conditions

:04:16. > :04:21.for Kyle Edmund in the absolutely crucial match, the first tennis we

:04:22. > :04:26.will see here. It could be the whole tie on this one. He can hit through

:04:27. > :04:30.no matter what happens. Being a French Open champion yourself, you

:04:31. > :04:34.will know all about clay. But in heavy conditions when the ball is

:04:35. > :04:39.fluffing up with dampness in the air, you need physical strength.

:04:40. > :04:44.Kyle has that. He has turned himself into a physical specimen. He needs

:04:45. > :04:51.to take a leadership role here. He almost be David Goffin in November.

:04:52. > :04:55.Now a real weight on the shoulders. Yes, pressure on him. Andy Murray

:04:56. > :05:01.not playing, but has travelled out here. A big supporter Kyle.

:05:02. > :05:05.Everybody was surprised, not that he was not playing, but that he came

:05:06. > :05:11.out here. It shows he wants to be part of the team. I am excited for

:05:12. > :05:15.Kyle. It is his chance to step up. Normally when Andy is playing, and

:05:16. > :05:23.all the attention is on him. Kyle can step up. Now -- with the

:05:24. > :05:34.enormity of everything that happened after the Wimbledon final, it's not

:05:35. > :05:37.surprising. I can't believe this. This was a magnificent sporting

:05:38. > :05:44.achievement. You don't have to argue with people about it. You can have a

:05:45. > :05:49.discussion about the most eminent British sports person when all is

:05:50. > :05:53.said and done. But at this time, there is nobody better than Andy

:05:54. > :06:02.Murray. And about this tribe, looking back on it, with a few doses

:06:03. > :06:06.sink in for us and for Kim! It was so predictable, and so likely after

:06:07. > :06:11.Novak Djokovic went out. For me, there was one winner of that

:06:12. > :06:16.tournament. Easy to say now. Federer did not quite have the firepower to

:06:17. > :06:21.come through a semifinal. Andy just did not look like losing. He just

:06:22. > :06:27.had winner written all over him. In fact, since round one at Queen 's as

:06:28. > :06:31.well. He has turned himself into a great champion. He will defend

:06:32. > :06:37.Olympic gold. A shame he is not playing but this is a good come -- a

:06:38. > :06:42.big come-down for him and he has to look after his body. Leon Smith did

:06:43. > :06:48.not think he would play and sure enough, he is not. I'm amazed he is

:06:49. > :06:55.there. It means so much to him, the Davis Cup. It's incredible that he

:06:56. > :07:00.would go to the Davis Cup match in survey to support the team when he

:07:01. > :07:08.has a new baby and everything. -- in Serbia. Andy has made his way to

:07:09. > :07:16.Belgrade by private jet and yesterday he was out on the practice

:07:17. > :07:18.court with his British team-mates. Obviously, I enjoy playing tennis, I

:07:19. > :07:27.enjoy practising and training so it was just, Bruce Lee, different, but

:07:28. > :07:32.-- obviously, different but I had done this a few times before. This

:07:33. > :07:37.is not the first time I have done that on a tennis court. Sell your

:07:38. > :07:41.role this week is as a supporter. You are an analyst of the way

:07:42. > :07:47.matches unfold. Will you be looking to throw advice to the players, or

:07:48. > :07:54.truly Leon as well? If anyone wants it, yeah. But I'm not here to start

:07:55. > :08:00.telling anybody what to do. If Leon wants to ask me about any of the

:08:01. > :08:04.players I have played against, or any of the players want to ask me, I

:08:05. > :08:11.will help and try to give advice that we have a great team which has

:08:12. > :08:17.won the Davis Cup before. The guys that you are helping me do a great

:08:18. > :08:22.job. I have had that advice from them over the last few years and

:08:23. > :08:28.they are fantastic. All of the tactics and staff going into matches

:08:29. > :08:33.are really good. Leon knows more about the players and I will but if

:08:34. > :08:36.any body wants to ask, I will try and help.

:08:37. > :08:44.I think they will be asking, don't you, Jamie?! I do. Amazing how

:08:45. > :08:49.humble years. First time he has been there not playing but if he has

:08:50. > :08:52.anything to say during a match, everybody will be like, what is

:08:53. > :08:57.that, can you pass some of your genius onto us, it will help! And

:08:58. > :09:00.all of them have said how his coaching and the way he reads the

:09:01. > :09:06.game has helped them in other matches. Andy dissects people. He

:09:07. > :09:11.will have a mental Rolodex of every single weakness and every strength

:09:12. > :09:16.and every moment of crisis and how every opponent reacts in that

:09:17. > :09:22.moment. Waiters served to them in a clay court or inside or outside.

:09:23. > :09:27.This guy is legitimately one of the greats of the game. And he is that

:09:28. > :09:33.the side. He has left home when rest is a priority, to support the team.

:09:34. > :09:39.Do you think they will want to hear what he has to say? Absolutely! This

:09:40. > :09:44.is why, at this point, he is such a major hazard to British tennis. And

:09:45. > :09:48.afterwards, he will be as well because he clearly loves being

:09:49. > :09:52.involved. I think it's fantastic. Imagine how the opposition feel,

:09:53. > :09:57.looking at it from the other point of view. He is a pain, he is a

:09:58. > :10:02.presence at the other side of the court. He will have to be big here

:10:03. > :10:06.because playing in Belgrade against Serbia, on clay, away from home,

:10:07. > :10:12.they go in as favourites. This is a big deal and Andy could be a few

:10:13. > :10:17.percentage difference and that could be all it could take. We don't know

:10:18. > :10:22.if Djokovic will make an appearance, but when he went out of Wimbledon,

:10:23. > :10:29.it was not a surprise that he did not play here. It's a massive

:10:30. > :10:34.statement from Andy. A big boost to the team. For Kyle and James on the

:10:35. > :10:39.court, to have him there, to give up his own time to be there, amazing.

:10:40. > :10:44.Also on the match front, there are two sides to it. He is one of the

:10:45. > :10:47.cleverest player on court. He figures out things and he is

:10:48. > :10:52.massively into watching lots of tennis and his match analysis, he

:10:53. > :10:56.goes through every single serve, where somebody is going to head. All

:10:57. > :11:01.of that information at the right time will come out during the

:11:02. > :11:09.singles matches. Whether or not the Brits can react to it is another

:11:10. > :11:16.thing, you don't want to disappoint Andy. Andy, I did have a backgammon

:11:17. > :11:21.-- backhand like yours, I can't hit it different ways. But it's

:11:22. > :11:25.wonderful that he is there. Not only does he train with them, but he

:11:26. > :11:33.follows them and they are playing in challenges, and he is always

:11:34. > :11:38.watching them. He is good news. We are hearing that the start has been

:11:39. > :11:43.delayed. We are not surprised. You can see that the brollies are up in

:11:44. > :11:49.Belgrade. It looks like even the Serbian Summa is not what it really

:11:50. > :11:58.should be. So a delay. They are assessing the court. They will wait

:11:59. > :12:06.until it stops. It will not paddle. We have all been out there with a

:12:07. > :12:13.mop... Remember those days? Yes, we all remember. Yes, just wait a few

:12:14. > :12:18.minutes. Nobody opening the time until there is a window opportunity.

:12:19. > :12:23.That man has taken his brolly down so there is some hope. How dab of

:12:24. > :12:28.the conditions? We talking about how heavy it will be. Does that help

:12:29. > :12:33.Kyle or not? The interesting thing is that earlier in the week it was

:12:34. > :12:37.45 degrees out there. We were talking about Kyle Edmund hoot

:12:38. > :12:45.cramped in the final, probably out of tension. The temperature is way

:12:46. > :12:49.cooler now. So it will be heavier. I don't think it will be the deciding

:12:50. > :12:58.factor. His match against Tipsarevic will be whether Kyle plays to his

:12:59. > :13:06.level. We don't know what Tipsarevic will do. He has not played much

:13:07. > :13:09.tennis, two years out. So we don't really know. It's a fascinating

:13:10. > :13:16.first match but there is a lot riding on it. He beat Dmitri Payet

:13:17. > :13:28.at Queen's Club. Although Griego's -- he beat David Troll -- he beat

:13:29. > :13:37.Grigor Dimitrov although his assent as man is not what it should be.

:13:38. > :13:41.He's a world-class player, injured. But you put these guys from the

:13:42. > :13:48.Balkans in their own backyard, and this crap 20% harder. Do you fancy a

:13:49. > :13:52.cup of tea and a sticky bun? I think we will be talking for a little

:13:53. > :13:57.while here this afternoon while we await the showers moving away from

:13:58. > :14:02.Belgrade. So no Andy Murray on court but the British captain is certainly

:14:03. > :14:07.happy about the team he has chosen. I'm not concerned at all. This is

:14:08. > :14:12.what it's all about. They have got to go out and give it everything.

:14:13. > :14:16.And the biggest thing that you say to them is that if they can go out

:14:17. > :14:20.and give 100% of their best effort from the first ball to the last is

:14:21. > :14:26.struck, you can walk of court with pride. Regardless of the outcome.

:14:27. > :14:31.That is what they have to focus on. To do their best with good focus and

:14:32. > :14:35.passion. They have support from the chair to talk about how the game is

:14:36. > :14:40.going. There will be ebbs and flows and ways to change the matches.

:14:41. > :14:46.Looking at Kyle, he lacks experience but he is very good on a clay court.

:14:47. > :14:51.His first experience of Davis Cup was the final against David Goffin.

:14:52. > :14:55.We know the level that he has got. Even the players we are playing now,

:14:56. > :15:01.we respect the opposition and four two said he was outstanding. Kyle is

:15:02. > :15:07.another six months on from there. -- and four two sets, he was

:15:08. > :15:13.outstanding. And the James Ward, what could you ask for. If you slip

:15:14. > :15:17.down the rankings and you have an opportunity to come into Davis Cup

:15:18. > :15:21.which he loves, put on your Great Britain shirt and get out there and

:15:22. > :15:26.give your best effort and have an upset. That would give him a big

:15:27. > :15:32.boost moving into the summer. He is very happy with his team but no Dan

:15:33. > :15:36.Evans who has a shoulder injury. With everything we saw from

:15:37. > :15:42.Wimbledon, and the fact that he plays well on clay, that would be

:15:43. > :15:47.more of a bonus if he was fit? Yes, Dan plays great on clay and he had a

:15:48. > :15:53.great run at Wimbledon. He is the obvious players you have played at

:15:54. > :15:56.number two behind Kyle. So disappointing, but don't forget that

:15:57. > :16:00.Dan played a lot of tennis in Asia before the French Open which led him

:16:01. > :16:04.to miss the clay-court season so he hasn't played on any clay this year.

:16:05. > :16:08.So maybe that has something to do with him not being in the right

:16:09. > :16:14.frame of mind to play on clay after the grass, we don't know? But we

:16:15. > :16:20.have to salute Leon Smith, what a record he has. He has the support of

:16:21. > :16:25.all the team, they really back him. He has had to make a few tough calls

:16:26. > :16:30.now and again. James Ward was one of the first guys that we saw up in

:16:31. > :16:34.Glasgow and he had not been selected for the semifinal and Dan had come

:16:35. > :16:41.in and James Dyke -- looked like he had seen a ghost. Now view selected

:16:42. > :16:48.again, James, and he must play under his captain. That is the captain's

:16:49. > :16:51.job, to make those decisions. When you have Andy Murray in the team and

:16:52. > :16:56.motivated and wants to be part of the setup, you are in with a chance.

:16:57. > :17:00.Without that, we are back to what we had in the past, trying to win the

:17:01. > :17:06.doubles and trying to sneak the singles. It is not easy. Away from

:17:07. > :17:10.home on clay, it was as rare as hen 's teeth to get a victory. It was

:17:11. > :17:18.difficult to go to these places and win. With Andy in the team, you know

:17:19. > :17:22.you will be two up. So big-time motivation required from Leon Smith,

:17:23. > :17:26.he has got to get the players playing for him. He has done a

:17:27. > :17:30.fantastic job. Some of it a great timing, some of it is great

:17:31. > :17:34.leadership, and some of its having a great player like Andy Murray to

:17:35. > :17:40.back you up. They showed great team spirit in the final last year in

:17:41. > :17:45.Belgium. Andy wanted to be a part of it. This is the ceremony which they

:17:46. > :17:50.did which was pretty special. Andy Murray!

:17:51. > :17:55.CHEERING. And these were wonderful scenes,

:17:56. > :18:04.where they? It's been a journey for the team. We came in over a few

:18:05. > :18:09.years. It was everybody coming in as one big team, whether you are the

:18:10. > :18:14.physio or whatever. Obviously you can't see any of that without the

:18:15. > :18:19.importance of candy -- Andy Murray coming into the team. A huge asset

:18:20. > :18:25.to any team. There is no doubt, you speak to any member of the team,

:18:26. > :18:28.they say that thing. It is not just like one person saying it or that

:18:29. > :18:31.the captain is towing the party line, I really think that it does

:18:32. > :18:37.filter down to the old team. And James Ward, lifting the trophy, the

:18:38. > :18:45.Winnie had against John Isner, that was key. And he was the only one who

:18:46. > :18:50.apart from Andy Murray Jamie Murray too big of a point then. That was

:18:51. > :19:01.crucial, in the first round. Without that victory, the Bryan brothers

:19:02. > :19:04.beat our doubles players. The doubles are still crucial. Without

:19:05. > :19:14.that victory from him, we wouldn't have won the day become. -- the

:19:15. > :19:17.Davis Cup. Looking back again in the whole atmosphere, the whole vibe in

:19:18. > :19:26.that area at that time was all about what had in Paris. So recently.

:19:27. > :19:30.There was a lot of jeopardy there, there was a sense of jeopardy.

:19:31. > :19:38.Everybody who was at the Arena had to make a decision based on facts

:19:39. > :19:45.and advice, including obviously the players' families and the players.

:19:46. > :19:49.There was a real sense of defiance being there. A lot of people decided

:19:50. > :19:53.not to go, that was to be respected as well. When I see the pictures,

:19:54. > :19:57.the intensity of emotion, not just the tennis, it was the whole thing

:19:58. > :20:02.around Belgium and the attacks in Paris as well. Fabulous memories

:20:03. > :20:07.that everybody came through and everybody celebrated. And there will

:20:08. > :20:13.be a minute's silence to remember those who lost their lives in Nice

:20:14. > :20:30.yesterday evening. We have been talking about James Ward -- we have

:20:31. > :20:38.been talking about James Murray... Janey Murray? James Ward! Now we can

:20:39. > :20:44.talk to James Ward. How did you feel about losing that

:20:45. > :20:48.lasts set to David Goffin? Is that under you can take from there? Yes,

:20:49. > :20:53.there's definitely something I can learn from that. You take that

:20:54. > :20:59.experience and put it into play next time around. I will have in mind,

:21:00. > :21:03.the noises, the experience, the feeling of playing for the team in

:21:04. > :21:10.the Davis Cup. It is different so that experience will do me good. You

:21:11. > :21:15.just move forward and now I have more experience and a lot more

:21:16. > :21:19.tournament matches and I am at a higher level. So all those things

:21:20. > :21:23.will really help me and put me in good stead. What difference will it

:21:24. > :21:27.mean to you and the team if you have Andy Murray sitting at the side of

:21:28. > :21:32.the court screaming and banging those advertising hoardings? I think

:21:33. > :21:36.as much support as we can get will be great, but the fact that Andy is

:21:37. > :21:41.such a big part of the team has put so much effort and pride into the

:21:42. > :21:45.team, we really know how much it means to him. The fact that he is

:21:46. > :21:53.not playing but still coming out to watch shows how much he loves it. So

:21:54. > :21:58.when you get support, having him and is present around will be a good

:21:59. > :22:05.thing, definitely. Kyle will be on court shortly because this was a few

:22:06. > :22:09.moments ago. The British fans giving a huge ovation to Andy Murray who

:22:10. > :22:15.took his place on the side of the court to be chief cheerleader. He is

:22:16. > :22:21.looking very relaxed. He loves this competition, doesn't he? It was the

:22:22. > :22:25.Serbians cheering that he was not playing, at least some of that! I

:22:26. > :22:30.think it is interesting that one of the umpires here has come over and

:22:31. > :22:34.shaken his hand and said welcome. So this is our sport at its finest

:22:35. > :22:39.represented by Andy Murray at the moment. Great to have him there. But

:22:40. > :22:43.once the ball start getting it, it would be him doing it. So this tie

:22:44. > :22:51.will get very tough very quickly. And the the fans will play their

:22:52. > :22:55.part. Those from Stirling University. They have helped the

:22:56. > :23:01.team so much. They have, and they made me almost laugh going back to

:23:02. > :23:06.the final. I couldn't believe how the ticket allocations have been

:23:07. > :23:11.done and have the Belgians had allowed the British fans to be right

:23:12. > :23:15.at the front. Whenever Belgian players looked up all they saw was

:23:16. > :23:20.British players blue and red. -- British fans, blue and red. They are

:23:21. > :23:25.afraid of getting a website in getting the tickets that they want.

:23:26. > :23:30.They will be denied. But it has been such a wonderful journey for British

:23:31. > :23:35.tennis. Here we see them walking on to court. I'm afraid my Serbian is

:23:36. > :23:45.not good so I didn't hear how they announced them. But here is Leon,

:23:46. > :23:50.Kyle, Dominic James and Jamie. But these matches are 50-50, they are

:23:51. > :23:55.tough. Yes, we think back to the last big win for Britain, the

:23:56. > :24:01.Russian match. Amazing windfall James Ward and Dan Evans. This is

:24:02. > :24:06.now time for Kyle and James to step up without Andy in the team. But

:24:07. > :24:10.Kyle has been on an amazing journey. He is developing well, improving at

:24:11. > :24:15.a great rate. He is a great kid and goes about everything in the right

:24:16. > :24:19.way. He is comfortable on the clay so I'm genuinely interested to see

:24:20. > :24:24.how this first match goes. Looking at the Serbian team, who will play

:24:25. > :24:34.the doubles? Obviously Zimonjic, but do you will play? It depends on the

:24:35. > :24:43.game today. He is 32, getting on a bit. Presumably Tipsarevic and

:24:44. > :24:47.Zimonjic, could you fancy against Inglot and his partner. Now we will

:24:48. > :24:49.pause for the minute's silence to remember those who lost their lives

:24:50. > :25:12.in the Nice attack yesterday. May they rest in peace. Everyone in

:25:13. > :25:17.Belgrave bring all of those who lost their lives. France's third terror

:25:18. > :25:25.attack in 18 months, during the Bastille Day celebrations. And now

:25:26. > :25:31.the introduction of the players. We perhaps missed Kyle. Here is James

:25:32. > :25:34.Ward. He will be second on court. And Kyle Edman, leading the British

:25:35. > :25:40.team. What an amazing experience it has been, to make your debut in the

:25:41. > :25:45.final and the very next time, you are British number one, way. And

:25:46. > :25:53.that is the inadvertent advantage of what Andy Murray has been able to

:25:54. > :25:57.do. For Carson -- Kyle, somebody of his age making their debut in the

:25:58. > :26:03.Davis Cup final, think what that can do. And the Davis Cup is not a small

:26:04. > :26:07.match. He is leading the team, it's big. Fantastic. And he will take

:26:08. > :26:12.that on tour with him. That Serbian line-up is good news, that Viktor

:26:13. > :26:20.Troicki is not being saluted. While we talk about Novak Djokovic and his

:26:21. > :26:27.presence, Viktor Troicki, 32 in the world, big-time experience. There is

:26:28. > :26:30.another one who we will have to get rid of, Dusan Lajovic. He is great

:26:31. > :26:36.on clay. Most of his points have come from clay court tournament. And

:26:37. > :26:44.Tipsarevic, who will be handing over the pennant, it looks as though...

:26:45. > :26:48.He has got Gray Davis Cup experience. The crowd will respond

:26:49. > :26:53.to him. That is another factor in this match. I think he has had 40

:26:54. > :26:56.Davis Cup wins. He has the experience. And with Djokovic coming

:26:57. > :27:02.in, they had that year when they won it. But still quite a few years ago.

:27:03. > :27:07.To have had the tough times he has had, the year is out, we don't quite

:27:08. > :27:15.know how he will play. But his record in Davis Cup is fantastic. It

:27:16. > :27:20.stretches back to the year 2000. He played for Yugoslavia, then Serbia

:27:21. > :27:23.and Montenegro, then Serbia. Davis Cup is odd, this is a comparative

:27:24. > :27:29.new independent country and they play their sport with a kind of

:27:30. > :27:33.nationalist pride that is a lesson to everybody. It is wonderful. I

:27:34. > :27:38.don't think they lose perspective, I hope there's not too much catcalling

:27:39. > :27:44.and whistling, some people get overexcited. But tennis has become a

:27:45. > :27:48.huge deal in Serbia. With Anna Ivanovic, with Novak. This is the

:27:49. > :27:59.tennis on the mat. And to win the Davis Cup for them, is huge. -- this

:28:00. > :28:05.is tech -- this has put tennis on the map. It is a bearpit to go in

:28:06. > :28:10.and try and win. This would be a sensational victory for Britain. I

:28:11. > :28:19.always notice the betting, and they see it about 50-50. I see it 60-44

:28:20. > :28:24.Serbia. Full survey. It depends a little bit on Yankee Tipsarevic, but

:28:25. > :28:30.a big match. I have to let you go in a minute. Because you will be

:28:31. > :28:39.commentating. I haven't had my tea! We will send it with the barn!

:28:40. > :28:45.Tipsarevic has huge -- Edmund has need weapons, but how will they work

:28:46. > :28:50.on this court? Take your time, when the time is right, go for it. It's

:28:51. > :28:54.great that its remit has come back with everything that he has been

:28:55. > :28:59.through, it would be easy to say goodbye, that he has had enough. I

:29:00. > :29:03.think he will be inspired. He has got a young man at the other end and

:29:04. > :29:10.he will be hoping that he will be no others. Watch out for Tipsarevic's

:29:11. > :29:15.rack hand on clay it is fantastic. Well we will have to let you go,

:29:16. > :29:19.Andrew. We have heard from Kyle, let's hear from Yankee Tipsarevic.

:29:20. > :29:24.We are talking about the injuries, he had a benign tumour in his foot

:29:25. > :29:27.which he had to have operated on. He tried to come back last year but

:29:28. > :29:32.then he injured his knee. He is talking to Russell Fuller. In the

:29:33. > :29:36.beginning, it wasn't that hard because you always have this idea

:29:37. > :29:39.that there will be over in a month, is not that bad, we were blessed

:29:40. > :29:45.with a beautiful daughter at that time so I was any a lot of time at

:29:46. > :29:51.home. But at one point, it stopped being that fun because I couldn't

:29:52. > :29:57.see the light at the end of the tunnel. If someday would have told

:29:58. > :30:02.me six months or a year, but in a year you will start, I would be sad

:30:03. > :30:09.but I would take it. But after a few months of treatment and nothing

:30:10. > :30:13.changing, I was having a lot of psychological problems. Depression.

:30:14. > :30:17.Basically the only guy on tour who could understand me was by Mateen

:30:18. > :30:24.del Potro who had a similar situation like me. But I was busy

:30:25. > :30:30.working on myself, reading a lot of self-help books. Going to the gym,

:30:31. > :30:34.meeting -- trying to stay healthy. It has been up and down

:30:35. > :30:37.psychologically but I have prevailed and here I am, playing all three

:30:38. > :30:45.days in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup! So Is your We don't know

:30:46. > :30:50.what Tipsarevic he will be today. I loved the end of that interview, the

:30:51. > :30:55.way he is almost laughing. He has played a bit on the Graz and he is

:30:56. > :30:59.saying here I am playing the west of five set matches in three days. I

:31:00. > :31:03.will by a maze if he doesn't play the doubles and the younger one will

:31:04. > :31:08.come in and play on the last day. What a terrible time he has had,

:31:09. > :31:11.best part of two years out, having had a few injuries myself, that

:31:12. > :31:17.point he was making about if you could give me an exact time, if I

:31:18. > :31:20.have to sit out, I will take that, any day of the week over not knowing

:31:21. > :31:25.when the end is going to come, and fair play to him for getting back on

:31:26. > :31:29.the court. Maybe this is almost like a second tennis life for him. I

:31:30. > :31:33.agree with Andrew, I think he will be inspired. The match is a big

:31:34. > :31:37.occasion, the level of his play against somebody who has been

:31:38. > :31:43.playing a lot of tennis this day, Kyle, the younger, he has his mark

:31:44. > :31:47.to make. It is such a physical sport now, isn't it, he has to get himself

:31:48. > :31:52.back in that shape. We are going to learn a lot about him, about how he

:31:53. > :31:56.deals with the best of the five set match in the same way we will can

:31:57. > :32:00.Kyle. Kyle I think will be there physically. She working on his

:32:01. > :32:04.fitness all the time. There were a few question marks raised over Kyle

:32:05. > :32:09.in the final, and I think that was down to tension, but obviously on

:32:10. > :32:14.the clay, this is why... This is tense. It is, at least he had the

:32:15. > :32:18.experience before. Tipsarevic had that great win at Queen, but I think

:32:19. > :32:23.on a grass court, if you your fitness is not there, you can do

:32:24. > :32:29.other things to maybe hide that, on the clay court against the physical

:32:30. > :32:34.Kyle Edmund, we will see how he handles it. We talked about the

:32:35. > :32:37.weapons that, the serve and the forehand, we talk ability, but he

:32:38. > :32:42.has improved other aspects of the game in the past year. Yes, his

:32:43. > :32:46.forehand, you are talking to a few of the coaches and players on tour,

:32:47. > :32:52.they talk about Kyle Edmund's forehand as being one of the top

:32:53. > :32:56.four. He has such a fast arm. He can hit winners from anywhere on the

:32:57. > :33:00.court. What I have been impressed with is how he has improved his

:33:01. > :33:04.backhand, sometimes he could be guilty of leaving the ball in the

:33:05. > :33:09.middle of the court. It seems like he is very focussed on his game

:33:10. > :33:13.style. He has been patient, he can go crosscourt with it all day. It is

:33:14. > :33:17.about him setting out, how can he use his forehand as much as

:33:18. > :33:21.possible. It is a massive job. If you are Leon Smith, you are saying

:33:22. > :33:26.move this guy round, he is not match fit. We don't know how fit he is and

:33:27. > :33:31.how much training he has been a able to do. Get the big forehand working

:33:32. > :33:35.and make him run the miles. I know it is a cliche but this is a case of

:33:36. > :33:39.playing the ball and not the man, because you look at the recent

:33:40. > :33:43.history. Kyle has the tennis behind him, he is fit. Fit. Tipsarevic has

:33:44. > :33:47.an amazing reputation and experience, but we don't know what

:33:48. > :33:51.his level is. Lyon will be saying take care of your side the court.

:33:52. > :33:56.There is no need to panic, even if you get off to a bad start, if

:33:57. > :33:59.Tipsarevic comes out flying and playing with massive amounts of

:34:00. > :34:04.flair, that is fine, Kyle can stay in, there is no need to panic, there

:34:05. > :34:09.is lots of things Lyon can do. Andy will help this as well. It will

:34:10. > :34:13.probably be a hostile crowd. They will into it. We have seen Andy as

:34:14. > :34:19.one of the best at dealing with that. Perhaps that is another area

:34:20. > :34:22.he might be able to get messages to the bench, to say maybe this is how

:34:23. > :34:28.I would deal with it. Maybe try this. You mentioned it, when we were

:34:29. > :34:32.in Belgium, it felt like a home tie. It is not easy this hostile

:34:33. > :34:37.atmosphere, you don't experience it in other tournaments. Only this

:34:38. > :34:41.competition, it is not easy to not be affected by it. Different people

:34:42. > :34:46.handle it in different ways. Andy Murray, he would... He loves it. He

:34:47. > :34:50.loves the fact that there is an energy there and he can use it.

:34:51. > :34:54.Other player, you know, they would be OK if it was flat and they can

:34:55. > :35:00.keep their head down and get op with it. Kyle, he looks like he plays

:35:01. > :35:05.more within himself. Everything he say, I think he will be inspired by

:35:06. > :35:10.supporting. We have such a great group of fans that are there. It is

:35:11. > :35:14.not a massive group. It is enough to think we are a tight group, here to

:35:15. > :35:19.take on the world, I think that will help. They pick the clay, they

:35:20. > :35:23.picked Belgrade and Tipsarevic on the other hand is going to try and

:35:24. > :35:26.get the crowd involved, try and intimidate his opponent. I would

:35:27. > :35:31.think so, that is from Tipsarevic's point of view, it is using all his

:35:32. > :35:37.experience, he must be thinking to himself, how am I going to hold up?

:35:38. > :35:42.He doesn't no. He will be thinking I will try and play the best tennis

:35:43. > :35:47.possible. At some point don't be surprised to so him soaking the

:35:48. > :35:50.atmosphere up. He spent two-and-a-half years thinking would

:35:51. > :35:55.he get the chance to do this again. It is amazing he is even on the

:35:56. > :36:00.court. Time for us to sit back and enjoy this in the company of Andrew

:36:01. > :36:10.who is with John Lloyd. Thank you very much indeed. Looking forward to

:36:11. > :36:14.this. The captain of Serbia with an important job to do. Home tie.

:36:15. > :36:51.Pressure on him to deliver in this quarterfinal of the Davis Cup.

:36:52. > :36:59.That was the weapon he is going to have to fire, if he is going to get

:37:00. > :37:00.through Janko Tipsarevic today. Mid court ball, forehand, pull the

:37:01. > :40:03.trigger. Game Great Britain. First game.

:40:04. > :40:07.Just about to say there, before this Kyle Edmund forehand, that the court

:40:08. > :40:12.conditions look very very slow and heavy, then he just carved through

:40:13. > :40:16.that. If you have that sort of pace, it doesn't really matter how slow

:40:17. > :40:22.the court it. It does look heavy condition, obviously the rain, and

:40:23. > :40:26.probably a lot of heaviness in the clay court, with the way they put it

:40:27. > :40:31.out, they want it as slow as possible. He handled that game very

:40:32. > :40:44.well from love 30, and the crowd, the, it feels a bit like a home tie

:40:45. > :42:56.again. We are in Belgrade for this. Tipsarevic representing Serbia.

:42:57. > :43:06.Best of five set tennis in the Davis Cup. The other quarterfinals Italy

:43:07. > :43:12.versus Argentina. The Czech Republic are taking on France, indoors on a

:43:13. > :43:16.hard court and hard outdoors for the United States versus Croatia. That

:43:17. > :43:31.is Portland, Oregon. We will keep you up to speed with all of that.

:43:32. > :43:42.Handed in, didn't it. Here comes Pascal Maria to have a loob look at

:43:43. > :43:51.the line which Tipsarevic pointed out. It's out.

:43:52. > :46:31.Game, Great Britain. This is the first meeting between these two

:46:32. > :46:36.nations since 2006, prior to Serbia becoming an ind nation in 2007. It

:46:37. > :46:41.was Serbia and Montenegro then, in Glasgow. Serbia won that meeting, in

:46:42. > :46:45.the euro Africa zone group one, which is just underneath this world

:46:46. > :46:50.group, of 16 nation, that we are seeing this tie coming from.

:46:51. > :46:53.Remember Novak Djokovic, a young Djokovic, still two years away from

:46:54. > :47:00.winning his first Grand Slam Championship at the Australian Open.

:47:01. > :47:03.Defeating Greg Rusedski. I remember looking at young Novak

:47:04. > :47:10.Djokovic and thinking this guy is a bit special. Not bad. And he

:47:11. > :47:15.couldn't even volley then In those days that is when there was rumours

:47:16. > :47:20.about the Djokovic family possibly coming to Britain, and we would have

:47:21. > :47:24.had number two and -- one and two players in the world, if he had come

:47:25. > :47:34.here and it has had gone through. I think we need an investigation as to

:47:35. > :47:43.why that didn't go through! Exactly. Great Britain bidding for a sixth

:47:44. > :47:47.consecutive Davis Cup tie today. Here comes the rain. It appears that

:47:48. > :47:52.we are going to get some rain, indeed, John. It looks like a heavy

:47:53. > :47:57.one as well. And this was predicted but they are

:47:58. > :48:02.not hanging about. No, the other bit, it was drizzling, but this is

:48:03. > :48:07.substantial rain, and it is just following the tennis circuit round,

:48:08. > :48:15.isn't it. The Italian Open in Rome this year, in May, was awful.

:48:16. > :48:20.Freezing cold. One or two of the clay court events, Monte Carlo had

:48:21. > :48:23.unseasonably cold weather. A difficult first week at Wimbledon.

:48:24. > :48:28.It is terrible. This is, well, again as we have been saying, at least it

:48:29. > :48:32.is clay. If this was obviously grass, or in hard court, you know,

:48:33. > :48:39.you would be in trouble, but as long as we can get rid of the heavy stuff

:48:40. > :48:43.you can play on the clay, in, you know, reasonable rain, but, it is

:48:44. > :48:50.not great, but this looks very heavy right now, you know, with the late

:48:51. > :48:54.start as well, the way they have set this event up, the likelihood that

:48:55. > :49:01.you know, the second match will be played under lights. It looks that

:49:02. > :49:06.way already. It is quite spectacular this arena, in Belgrade. Great

:49:07. > :49:11.sporting complex, calved out of the rock here. As you can see, as they

:49:12. > :49:16.cover up the clay court, and sporting complex with so many

:49:17. > :49:19.facilities here, including that swimming pool, towards the top of

:49:20. > :49:24.your screen there, which will probably be overflowing in a few

:49:25. > :49:29.minute, such is the deluge here in Belgrade, Serbia. It is outdoors and

:49:30. > :49:34.on clay, which is absorbent to a point but not so much they don't get

:49:35. > :49:37.the coffers on. We have to wait. It is a tough one for young Kyle

:49:38. > :49:45.Edmund. Leading the British charge, ranked as the world number 67 as he

:49:46. > :49:51.s Andy Murray choosing to absent himself from playing duties in this

:49:52. > :49:57.quarterfinal of the Davis Cup, but nevertheless, making his way in an

:49:58. > :50:02.admirable show of support for his team-mates, to Belgrade, to court

:50:03. > :50:06.side, to support his team-mates, who they won the Davis Cup with last

:50:07. > :50:12.year. So just a question of patience for

:50:13. > :50:17.everybody now. We hope for some more tennis as soon

:50:18. > :50:22.as possible. Plenty of hardy souls there, who will stick around and

:50:23. > :50:26.wait to support their nation, the 2010 champions against last year's

:50:27. > :50:30.Davis Cup champions, Great Britain. Three games played Sue, not a lot of

:50:31. > :50:35.tennis action so far. But we are 2-1 up. Which are in the lead. I darnt

:50:36. > :50:39.tell you I have been look on the website about the rain, and I am

:50:40. > :50:46.afraid it is going to be with us for some time. On and off over the next

:50:47. > :50:49.few hours, it is delayed in Italy as well, so they have, this is

:50:50. > :50:54.frustrating isn't it, so youed isly think why didn't they pick an Indoor

:50:55. > :50:59.Arena and we could have tennis, we have seen it through Wimbledon and

:51:00. > :51:04.the French Open. You will learn a lot about these players. All the

:51:05. > :51:08.players are well practised in rain delays. So disappointing. The good

:51:09. > :51:13.thing seeing they are covering the courts so with the clay, as soon as

:51:14. > :51:17.it stops raining and the covers are off, they will be back on, a decent

:51:18. > :51:23.start from Kiel but not many you can tell from ten minutes play. That

:51:24. > :51:27.tricky, when you are thinking about Tipsarevic, maybe that could be

:51:28. > :51:30.another issue as far as that, getting yourself warm, cold, warm,

:51:31. > :51:34.cold, that is not great. The main thing, is how much energy that takes

:51:35. > :51:40.up, especially when you have a five set match to play. You could have a

:51:41. > :51:45.four, five hour match but warming up, topping, when do you eat? By the

:51:46. > :51:49.time you get on court you can be drained. Andy Murray is in there,

:51:50. > :51:53.good experience, Kyle Edmund, they will be very relaxed and the good

:51:54. > :51:57.thing about this, in a Davis Cup environment, you know when you

:51:58. > :52:01.playing not a regular tour event by yourself, you are spending a lot of

:52:02. > :52:05.time by yourself, unless you are a top player with a big entourage,

:52:06. > :52:10.here a big team out here, so there will be plenty of stuff to do. When

:52:11. > :52:14.you have been at the Davis Cup, on the home match, you have been down

:52:15. > :52:19.court side with the team. What has come across is how close they are,

:52:20. > :52:24.not just the people round on court, but the support staff as well. It

:52:25. > :52:28.makes a big difference you see it with football teams and other team,

:52:29. > :52:33.if you start from a position that is low down, which this Davis Cup team

:52:34. > :52:37.did, when you get to, go through a journey of three, four, five years

:52:38. > :52:41.it is more or less the same people, the back room staff has been tearily

:52:42. > :52:46.on stand, so everybody knows very well. Everybody knows the routine,

:52:47. > :52:49.their role, although there has been a few different player, the main

:52:50. > :52:53.stay of the team has been they have come through this journey together.

:52:54. > :52:57.It is like that, when you are down there court side, everybody is

:52:58. > :53:01.focussed on that one player, playing the match and everyone doing what

:53:02. > :53:06.they can to help that player. A was one thing that Leigh I don't know

:53:07. > :53:11.did say and made clear when he took over as captain, his thing would be

:53:12. > :53:15.he would create a massive team spirit. The strap line at the time

:53:16. > :53:18.was our jurny back to the world group. At that time he couldn't have

:53:19. > :53:23.known that Andy Murray was going to commit so heavily to the Davis Cup.

:53:24. > :53:28.If he had I think it would have been journey to winning the Davis Cup.

:53:29. > :53:33.What an amazing achievement. Leon Smith joins in, at the last Davis

:53:34. > :53:40.Cup tie he said Matt Little who trains with Andy Murray was suddenly

:53:41. > :53:44.setting Leon challenges to do the interval training that is, brutal

:53:45. > :53:49.exercise and Leon went for it. He said he couldn't breathe for a

:53:50. > :53:53.while. You have to. The thing about those types of thing, if you are

:53:54. > :53:57.somebody who doesn't take up a challenge or saying I am not doing

:53:58. > :54:04.that, he is the first person to awhy are you not doing that? You are

:54:05. > :54:09.lazy, you are this. Matt Little, he is a great person to have round, so

:54:10. > :54:13.motivating and he has been the one person in Andy Murray's team, over

:54:14. > :54:17.all these years, he has been the one person who has been there through

:54:18. > :54:22.thick and thin. That is what Andy puts a commitment to, he has looked

:54:23. > :54:27.at what Djokovic has done, he said if I am going to match him I have to

:54:28. > :54:34.do it physically and Matt has done it to new levels. A lot of the stuff

:54:35. > :54:38.is build off a ?location, of there isn't -- a foundation, there is a

:54:39. > :54:43.goal, a task, and we are working towards this, and I remember when

:54:44. > :54:47.Andy first burst on to the scene, and Matt came on full-time with

:54:48. > :54:51.Andy, when he was playing Grand Slam, when he was, I remember one

:54:52. > :54:57.year he beat Roddick in the third round, right from the start he was

:54:58. > :55:02.winnings at the Grand Slams but for the first four or five years they

:55:03. > :55:06.were doing training blocks during the tournament, he had seen what was

:55:07. > :55:10.happening and thinking to have my longevity in the game and be a

:55:11. > :55:14.champion, I need to embark on this physical journey to get to a point

:55:15. > :55:21.where my body is ready to endure the matches over a period of time. That

:55:22. > :55:27.is the level of commitment that was there, but what an achieve. He has

:55:28. > :55:32.got to a place where he is arguably the best AEK Athens heat on the

:55:33. > :55:37.tour. -- athlete on the tour. He spends two hours on the court,

:55:38. > :55:41.because the rest is getting his body from stretching, from pie late, from

:55:42. > :55:45.the training that you are doing it is almost more off court training

:55:46. > :55:50.you need now, which is so different from Moy day. I guess all the

:55:51. > :55:55.research has been done on the sports science side in terms of recovering

:55:56. > :55:59.and how to get your body on a level to perform, the money that is

:56:00. > :56:04.available these days, and endorsements and the RBS of it. If

:56:05. > :56:08.as a player you have identified this is a programme I need to maximise

:56:09. > :56:13.potential, there is almost no him to how many people you can have round

:56:14. > :56:17.how you want to structure every day, but you are right, from even before

:56:18. > :56:21.Andy goes on to the court to warm up, and before his match, he has got

:56:22. > :56:24.there an hour, hour-and-a-half of training he is warming up, doing

:56:25. > :56:30.everything he feels he need to do, so by the time he is son the court

:56:31. > :56:34.he is ready to play at his best. It is still raining, the court is

:56:35. > :56:39.covered. No immediate prospect of play so we are going to drag Andy

:56:40. > :56:43.and John down and talk all things tennis here until play gets under

:56:44. > :56:48.way. We have been talking about Andy Murray, what a wonderful Sunday

:56:49. > :56:53.winning his Wimbledon title. He was back in the grounds and spoke to

:56:54. > :56:57.Russell. I feel a responsibility, I really all the guys on the team are

:56:58. > :57:04.great, my brother is part of the team. Last year was, you know Ieuan

:57:05. > :57:09.Wyn Jonesing the Davis Cup was one of the best moments of my career,

:57:10. > :57:14.but the whole team, it was amazing, amazing time, and you know when they

:57:15. > :57:20.have had that moment with all of the guys, because everyone played their

:57:21. > :57:26.part as well, and we are a team, whether I am playing or not, always

:57:27. > :57:30.try to support. Is What is the priority for you, for the rest of

:57:31. > :57:37.this year? Is it Grand Slams your primary motivation? Well the

:57:38. > :57:43.Olympics is important to me, obviously, I have been involved in

:57:44. > :57:48.two Olympics, I loved the experience and winning a gold medal, you

:57:49. > :57:54.realise how special it is, so, you know, I want to try and perform well

:57:55. > :57:58.at the Olympics and the US Open comes a few weeks after that as

:57:59. > :58:04.well. So I need to get a good decent amount of practise on the hard

:58:05. > :58:08.court, because you know, last few tournaments I played on the hard I

:58:09. > :58:14.struggled. Didn't play particularly well, need to get some work done

:58:15. > :58:19.before then. It is becoming world number one is that a big motivating

:58:20. > :58:25.factor, is it realistic. I would love to get to number one, a lot of

:58:26. > :58:32.people are forgetting what Novak has done. If I want to get there I am

:58:33. > :58:36.going to have to try to win more matches against him, but yes, I

:58:37. > :58:42.would love to get to number one obviously. Talking so well there on

:58:43. > :58:47.about an hour-and-a-half's sleep, he had been out celebrating. Flying

:58:48. > :58:52.high after Wimbledon, he has a glass-and-a-half of champagne. He is

:58:53. > :58:56.a well oiled machine, unlike me! There you go, he is feeling good

:58:57. > :59:01.about life and talking about the Olympics and being number one, there

:59:02. > :59:08.is an appetite for further success, perhaps when he won his first women

:59:09. > :59:14.con, perhaps the first time round, not quite so hungry, knows how to

:59:15. > :59:18.handle it better. He is ready to attack all the way for the next

:59:19. > :59:22.three or four year, I would be amazed if he wasn't world number one

:59:23. > :59:27.in the future. Know rack cannot maintain the standards. He is a long

:59:28. > :59:31.way in front. He has won everything. But you can't keep on doing that,

:59:32. > :59:36.other things happen in your life and you go up, there are ups and downs

:59:37. > :59:43.and you have to assume he will have a down at some point. Perhaps it is

:59:44. > :59:47.now and Andy can hit it. While he is winning all the slams Andy, his base

:59:48. > :59:52.of computer points is not a poor one. I am reading he is working out

:59:53. > :59:56.20 weeks for Lendl, he has to have Lendl in his corner. He is a

:59:57. > :00:00.different player with him, there is huge respect there. I think so, it

:00:01. > :00:04.was a wonderful moment when he picked him, that was the missing

:00:05. > :00:10.part of the jigsaw, he just needed him in his corner. As it happened of

:00:11. > :00:13.course, we sort of laugh about it, but in some ways he almost picked

:00:14. > :00:18.Lendl to beat Djokovic and Djokovic lost before he played him, so that

:00:19. > :00:21.is why I think he said about lucky Lendl, because he probably would

:00:22. > :00:26.have won it without him to be honest but there is a different about him.

:00:27. > :00:31.If he is going to attack the number one spot, agree with Andrew, I think

:00:32. > :00:35.he will get that, I think he needs Lendl in there and only a few years

:00:36. > :00:39.back we were wondering whether he was going to win a Grand Slam

:00:40. > :00:45.because of the mental side of it. Now it is how many will he win? He

:00:46. > :00:48.has at least three or four in it. I think he will become number one in

:00:49. > :00:58.in the world at some stage. And this role of the super coach,

:00:59. > :01:04.even Lendl identifies with Murray, because he losses first few Grand

:01:05. > :01:10.Slams. He is a born when NES instilled that in Andy. I have to be

:01:11. > :01:14.honest, Andy has had a lot of coaches and I haven't given that

:01:15. > :01:20.much credit to his coaches because I think you such a gifted player, and

:01:21. > :01:24.he is Reg Stodden, he knows what he wants and how to work his way

:01:25. > :01:31.through matches. And of course he has his mum, who also knows the game

:01:32. > :01:39.very well. But this even Lendl effect is a real thing. I don't know

:01:40. > :01:42.what it is, whether it is Lendl's personality, his achievements within

:01:43. > :01:47.the game, there is something about him where Andy has a different level

:01:48. > :01:51.of respect for him than anybody else and when he is around, it's

:01:52. > :01:55.basically just put him into this optimal state to perform at his

:01:56. > :02:02.absolute best. It's not like it takes all the fire away, it doesn't

:02:03. > :02:06.do that, it keeps the right amount. And there is a really small amount

:02:07. > :02:10.of wasted energy on the court when Lendl is in the court. Is not the

:02:11. > :02:14.same when anybody else's around. Whether that is something they speak

:02:15. > :02:20.about, I don't know. I have a feeling it is just the respect, his

:02:21. > :02:25.behaviour changes. Interesting, that is Lendl's machine-like quality.

:02:26. > :02:29.Lendl in his generation was the man who turned it from almost an art

:02:30. > :02:35.form or whatever it was, shotmaking, Lendl turned it into some sort of a

:02:36. > :02:42.cyborg feeling. He didn't want to talk to anybody in the changing

:02:43. > :02:47.room. If he did, it was for a silly joke which nobody found funny. He

:02:48. > :02:52.was dominant, a physical force. Andy Love that thing about him, how he is

:02:53. > :02:57.the decree, how he takes his trading says seriously. No stone left

:02:58. > :03:02.unturned. Lendl was one of the first to do that on the mend's circuit. He

:03:03. > :03:07.turned people over on the court. He loved hitting them as well. If you

:03:08. > :03:10.had a short ball and you played Lendl, you would get it in the

:03:11. > :03:16.neck... And all that stuff they still do in practice! It's a

:03:17. > :03:22.personality thing, there is no question, Andy plays for Ivan. They

:03:23. > :03:25.talk so much, I was reading somewhere. And it was telling you

:03:26. > :03:29.all the problems and how he deals with Wimbledon and the pressure and

:03:30. > :03:33.expectation that the media and expectations placed on him. And

:03:34. > :03:40.Lendl said, don't read it, you are playing for yourself, and he is

:03:41. > :03:44.taking away all the problems and it will supply and saying it is not a

:03:45. > :03:49.problem. When it gets crucial in a match, embrace it, don't be worried

:03:50. > :03:54.by it. It is telling all of Andy's negatives into a positive and

:03:55. > :04:00.something to embrace. Absolutely, and that is what the super coaches

:04:01. > :04:04.do. Lendl said it is not so much technical stuff, in fact he said,

:04:05. > :04:08.I'm not very good at the technical stuff, it is the mindset. What are

:04:09. > :04:13.you going to be thinking at crucial times? What do you need to bring

:04:14. > :04:17.onto the court mentally the night before a crucial match, when they

:04:18. > :04:22.talk about the plans? Yes, Murray has been there and done it, but not

:04:23. > :04:31.as much as Lendl. These great champions do have little doubt at

:04:32. > :04:34.all times in their careers. Doesn't matter how many titles you have one.

:04:35. > :04:37.We look at them as if they are going to play in a local tournament, but

:04:38. > :04:40.there are doubts. When you have a coach like Lendl in your corner who

:04:41. > :04:43.tells you what you will feel, it gives you that comfort level, that

:04:44. > :04:48.support system. The feeling that when this comes up, I know how to

:04:49. > :04:57.deal with it. And somebody he can look at that knows what he's feeling

:04:58. > :05:05.. The two tie-breaks with Milos Raonic. Andy just went up a level.

:05:06. > :05:09.And the start of those tie-breaks, the difference in approach. The

:05:10. > :05:13.focus of Andy Murray, you lasers down. You knew he would give nothing

:05:14. > :05:19.away. And on the other side, Raonic, who had all this weaponry, fantastic

:05:20. > :05:23.player, and he just links. A couple of errors at the start of the

:05:24. > :05:34.tie-break and a big Apple is created. Mat macro he just blinked.

:05:35. > :05:39.It was one break, two errors at the start of each tie-break. I think

:05:40. > :05:44.Lendl gives Andy Murray mental permission to go for it. If you go

:05:45. > :05:53.for it, make a mistake doing the right thing then -- is better than

:05:54. > :06:00.getting lucky. Go for it, this is your time. He gives Andy permission

:06:01. > :06:04.to do for it, -- to go for it. I've looked so miserable out there and

:06:05. > :06:10.you can just... He got emotional at the end! He got emotional. I

:06:11. > :06:16.remember 2013, in the changing rooms, you could not have taken that

:06:17. > :06:23.smile off, it was a tin ear. That is achievement. That is why people play

:06:24. > :06:28.sport. It is real reward. And it's lovely, Andy can play the tennis, we

:06:29. > :06:31.know that, but when he points to his head and says, I am not going to

:06:32. > :06:37.lose the match, mental strength. Right up there with Djokovic. That's

:06:38. > :06:42.right. I couldn't quite believe it at first. Then I thought, I believe

:06:43. > :06:47.you. And everybody including his opponents believed him. That is the

:06:48. > :06:51.effect he has on Murray. He is going from strength to strength. I look

:06:52. > :06:55.forward to seeing what he will achieve because Novak Djokovic, had

:06:56. > :06:59.better watch out. Murray is coming after him and he is a different

:07:00. > :07:07.Murray. And what about the next couple of months? That is the next

:07:08. > :07:16.-- reason why he's not playing here, because of the Olympics. And that

:07:17. > :07:21.meant so much to him. Yes, and this was it the start of his quest

:07:22. > :07:26.towards Grand Slams. It started here. He had the Wimbledon final

:07:27. > :07:33.against Roger Federer and he was a setup and then Federer dispatched

:07:34. > :07:38.him. When the roof came over and it became an indoor match. But a

:07:39. > :07:41.comeback on the same court and basically destroy Federer, it almost

:07:42. > :07:47.felt that he had done it in a Grand Slam and it gave him extra belief.

:07:48. > :07:52.How different does Wimbledon look there, as well! With all the

:07:53. > :08:02.Wimbledon branding. -- Olympic branding. It big boost for him. And

:08:03. > :08:07.when he bashed that a stand the middle, there was a difference in

:08:08. > :08:12.the emotion. -- that ace down the middle. He was the same after being

:08:13. > :08:18.interviewed after the Davis Cup match in glass go, the prodigal son

:08:19. > :08:21.returning, this yearning for success. When you pounded that ace

:08:22. > :08:29.down the middle against Federer, it was a floodgates then. He may not

:08:30. > :08:41.win a another Grand Slam match after this, after our talking, but he has

:08:42. > :08:49.this and that is exciting. Still raining! And still no tea! But let's

:08:50. > :08:54.carry on the conversation, because as far as the Olympics is concerned,

:08:55. > :09:06.and Roger Federer, he gave his all in the Olympics and he that is his

:09:07. > :09:14.goal. He has won everything else. We hope not. We hope that will not be

:09:15. > :09:18.the end. Because it's a bonus when we on court. You look at him over

:09:19. > :09:24.the years and when he won easily, people would say he's was willing so

:09:25. > :09:29.easily and it was boring. But I would say no, you see shots in every

:09:30. > :09:35.match that nobody else would hit, would have the imagination or genius

:09:36. > :09:39.to do so. He is a credit. I hope he wins the gold medal because it would

:09:40. > :09:45.be right for him to win the whole lot. In some ways it would be a

:09:46. > :09:50.fitting way to go out. I think he will play for a lot longer. He loved

:09:51. > :09:55.the sport, you love the whole process and keep thinking he can

:09:56. > :10:00.improve. It was a match that he says, he should have one, at

:10:01. > :10:03.Wimbledon. He had all the chances in the fourth set. And you can see how

:10:04. > :10:07.that hurt him afterwards. But I think something has changed a little

:10:08. > :10:12.bit in the last eight or nine months. I think, last year, there

:10:13. > :10:17.was no thought of them stopping. He was still playing great tennis. He

:10:18. > :10:21.had had no big injuries. He had come back with his back troubling him a

:10:22. > :10:27.little bit. He loved playing so much he was not thinking about it. This

:10:28. > :10:31.time when he gave a wave after losing to Raonic, I think he is not

:10:32. > :10:39.quite sure whether he will be here in a year to play. The thought is in

:10:40. > :10:43.his mind. I think, physically, that will be in his mind. We are keeping

:10:44. > :11:41.a watch on Belgrade. But in August, all eyes will be on Rio.

:11:42. > :12:45.That sadly got as silly mood. Here are other sports to look forward to.

:12:46. > :12:52.We have got about a minute here. Still raining, it's depressing,

:12:53. > :12:58.isn't it? I just want to make a point about the Olympic Games. When

:12:59. > :13:02.tennis went back in 1984, the golfers have let themselves down by

:13:03. > :13:06.pulling out and I'm glad the tennis players are going. We talk about

:13:07. > :13:10.Roger Federer and him picking up a singles gold and how wonderful it

:13:11. > :13:15.would be. Ten supports the Olympic Games and golf has not, and it's

:13:16. > :13:19.embarrassing. But you can understand that in some ways, the sports world

:13:20. > :13:23.and Olympic presence, so it is the governing body that is pushing them.

:13:24. > :13:28.Because all the eyes are on Rio de Janeiro. It's difficult when there

:13:29. > :13:36.is a full professional tour going on adjacent to the Olympic and there

:13:37. > :13:41.are so much money there. In the first year, it would have been great

:13:42. > :13:45.to see all of the top players participating. Absolutely. I am

:13:46. > :13:50.going to get the kettle on the just a moment! But these are the scenes

:13:51. > :13:55.here in Belgrade. As you can see, the rain is still falling. The

:13:56. > :13:59.covers are still on so sadly, no tennis. You can watch something else

:14:00. > :14:04.rather than anything else. We will be back later on and we will rejoin
