:00:38. > :00:46.Hello and welcome to the grand Hall at Olympia in West London for the

:00:47. > :00:52.annual extravaganza of show-jumping. A show mixing fun, entertainment and

:00:53. > :00:57.top-level sport. We all about jumping today. Not that kind of

:00:58. > :01:01.jumping, show-jumping. Andy Austin will eat in the commentary box

:01:02. > :01:08.later, this is a big course for the prize. -- will be in. This is five

:01:09. > :01:16.foot three vertical. It is going to be difficult to jump. The atmosphere

:01:17. > :01:21.is building, it will be packed. This is what they have to contend with.

:01:22. > :01:28.The triple bar, and straight into this very severe plank, about five

:01:29. > :01:34.foot four! It is four strides and is very tight. As they comment on the

:01:35. > :01:40.end of the arena, the horses will find this very short -- as they come

:01:41. > :01:47.to. I have two go right up in the air, and this fence is five

:01:48. > :01:53.footfall. -- five foot four. And this is totally flat. So that could

:01:54. > :02:00.come off? And the horses have to be so concentrated because they come

:02:01. > :02:04.running next to the crowd. Everybody gets excited and there is tension,

:02:05. > :02:10.it is so exciting. When they come down here, they are jumping right

:02:11. > :02:16.into the crowd. A lot of distractions. Very difficult. Ten

:02:17. > :02:21.British out of 34, where do we see the title going? I am convinced we

:02:22. > :02:25.will get a British winner tonight, a couple of names, Mike De Schmeichel

:02:26. > :02:33.Whitaker, Scott Brash, but I think this track might suit the veteran,

:02:34. > :02:38.58 years old, John Whitaker. That would be a real story.

:02:39. > :02:42.You go from the noise and the lights and the glamour of the arena to

:02:43. > :02:49.backstage where it is quiet and everybody concentrated. He will be

:02:50. > :02:57.an early Jumper. Back there is Peter chance, she is strange in her

:02:58. > :03:04.behaviour and is not like anybody, and a strange head carriage. -- she

:03:05. > :03:09.does not like anybody. Maikel van der Vleuten is in the black jacket,

:03:10. > :03:17.he won the World Cup chats -- class on Saturday, he is only 24 years

:03:18. > :03:22.old. There is also a British rider, Daniel Neilson, one of the finds. He

:03:23. > :03:28.has had a third-place in the World Cup, he would be another big class

:03:29. > :03:31.rider of the future. -- he will be. Robert Whitaker will be an early

:03:32. > :04:21.starter. Laura Renwick is the leading rider

:04:22. > :04:24.of the week so far. Let's join our commentary team, Andy Austin and

:04:25. > :04:34.Mike Tucker. A good-looking competition for this

:04:35. > :04:39.Olympic Grand Prix, it has produced some great night for international

:04:40. > :04:42.show-jumping over the years. We are looking for a really good jump off

:04:43. > :04:56.tonight. Not the biggest course, and what of big verticals. -- a lot of.

:04:57. > :05:02.We start with the 33-year-old Harrie Smolders, from the Netherlands. He

:05:03. > :05:07.is 22 in the world. He has been a very good rider, all sorts of horses

:05:08. > :05:16.for many years. He can also ride top-class horses. Chosen tonight to

:05:17. > :05:21.ride. He will be riding Emerald, the Horsey has used as his Grand Prix

:05:22. > :05:27.horse in the autumn circuit. -- the horse he has used. Second in the

:05:28. > :05:37.World Cup at Toronto. He also went pretty well in the Grand Prix in

:05:38. > :05:45.Doha, the champions tour final. But around the latter part of this

:05:46. > :05:54.course. Where are the problems? -). -- right around. The triple bar to a

:05:55. > :06:03.tall point. There is another vertical straight out of the corner.

:06:04. > :06:11.It is very tight, the four strides. Another difficult vertical here.

:06:12. > :06:22.Brilliant through -- brilliantly through. What a very good start.

:06:23. > :06:30.Time allowed is 66 seconds. Not in any hurry to get inside that times

:06:31. > :06:38.-- that time, and general thoughts are the time will be slackened off,

:06:39. > :06:45.but a good ride to start with. Well done, were you expecting that?

:06:46. > :06:48.We always expect a first at my horse is nine years old and does not have

:06:49. > :06:54.much experience, but a very promising stallion. Will you be

:06:55. > :07:00.hoping everybody messes it up? That would be good! But I am sure we will

:07:01. > :07:20.get an exciting jump off. Well done. This crowd ready for action. It has

:07:21. > :07:25.been sensational, right from the boat in -- the opening night. We saw

:07:26. > :07:33.the wonderful Andalusian School. And then the world record. Great spirits

:07:34. > :07:40.tonight. Robert Whitaker. He will regard this as his best horse. It

:07:41. > :07:48.won the Grand Prix and probably his better result was more recently,

:07:49. > :08:11.where he finished third in the Grand Prix of Hanover in a very good

:08:12. > :08:12.competition. This horse has unbelievable power, but he just

:08:13. > :08:39.needs to keep his concentration. That is the casual jump, just when

:08:40. > :08:46.he did not need it. Right inside the time. He has had a frustrating week.

:08:47. > :08:55.When horses do things like that, Robert got in, perfect stride, did

:08:56. > :09:04.everything correct. A lot of frustration on his face, nothing

:09:05. > :09:11.much he could have done. We have seen very little of this

:09:12. > :09:17.horse this week. This is his best horse. Whisper has been used most of

:09:18. > :09:25.this week. But this is a big winner for this talented Frenchman. Simon

:09:26. > :09:40.Delestre. On the legal book power in the tank. Huge strides. -- on the

:09:41. > :09:44.legal power. -- unbelievable. Simon Delestre is a very strong rider. He

:09:45. > :09:53.got tight to that. Definitely an option around that

:09:54. > :10:03.distance to go six or seven. That was lucky. Got very close to the

:10:04. > :10:07.triple bar, that was good tactics. Get the horse in the air, did not

:10:08. > :10:13.want to be making up ground with such a big striding horse.

:10:14. > :10:28.Lovely! He was second in the Maastricht Grand Prix. To Maikel van

:10:29. > :10:42.der Vleuten. Michael on the World Cup round yesterday. -- Maikel this

:10:43. > :10:45.is very efficient. The horse had a little run on that big vertical.

:10:46. > :11:01.Clean everywhere else. Peter injured his hand very badly in

:11:02. > :11:09.October, he has had a lot of time out. But he is back in form. Horse

:11:10. > :11:18.jumped very well here yesterday. A good round. A good World Cup. Peter

:11:19. > :11:28.Charles is the man who one can still see raising his arm when Britain

:11:29. > :11:36.clinched Gold in London. This horse is quite unique. She sticks her nose

:11:37. > :11:43.out and runs around, Peter Hass to let her go her own way -- Peter has

:11:44. > :11:51.to let her go her own way and he has two trust her to jump. She made up a

:11:52. > :11:57.lot of ground. -- has to. A French horse with a lot of blood, it will

:11:58. > :12:02.be difficult here. She will have to be shortened up. He thought he got

:12:03. > :12:05.away with it, he did everything he could. But with that big stride, she

:12:06. > :12:20.is now getting too forward. Rather fell apart towards the end.

:12:21. > :12:27.He won it in 1993. He was riding for Ireland at that stage. But he came

:12:28. > :12:32.back to ride for Britain and was instrumental in that Gold medal. He

:12:33. > :12:38.did everything he could to settle her but he made up so much ground

:12:39. > :12:44.with her. At the end of the track, she started diving. She can do that

:12:45. > :12:47.on the second part. But her head down and she threw herself on to the

:12:48. > :12:55.second. Nothing he could have done about that. Now the man who won the

:12:56. > :13:01.World Cup round, 25-year-old Maikel van der Vleuten. His father has been

:13:02. > :13:10.a world class rider and has won a World Cup right here. Neither of

:13:11. > :13:15.them have ever won the Grand Prix. -- ride here. He won the Grand Prix

:13:16. > :13:23.in Maastricht and yesterday he won the Masters. A very close final

:13:24. > :13:29.jump-off for the Masters. He is in tremendous form, this man. Always

:13:30. > :13:38.fascinating to see younger horses coming up to the top level. This

:13:39. > :13:45.classically bred Dutch horse, a lot of scope. Maikel van der Vleuten is

:13:46. > :13:49.just getting to build a strong team of horses. Right at the top of the

:13:50. > :13:54.sport. She has got so much power, look at

:13:55. > :14:02.the height. This certainly is a proper

:14:03. > :14:23.championship Grand Prix jumper. Two for Holland now, Harrie Smolders

:14:24. > :14:30.with the first comment now this man, Maikel van der Vleuten the next.

:14:31. > :14:37.Joined by Geir Gulliksen and Simon Delestre. This is a lovely round, a

:14:38. > :14:41.younger horse being tested and coming up with the right answers.

:14:42. > :14:47.Staying careful and concentrating on the last fence. -- until the last.

:14:48. > :14:53.This man on the World Cup on Saturday, you must have so much

:14:54. > :15:00.confidence? Yes, it gives you a good feeling. If your horses are in good

:15:01. > :15:05.shape, your riding ability, you believe in yourself and that is what

:15:06. > :15:10.you have to do. You have some periods in the year that the horses

:15:11. > :15:16.are in good shape and I tried to do the best myself. How much reaction

:15:17. > :15:23.have you had at home since winning the World Cup class? After the World

:15:24. > :15:27.Cup, you realise how many people are looking at it with you in Holland. A

:15:28. > :15:32.get a lot of phone calls and messages -- I get. It is a good

:15:33. > :15:41.feeling to have people standing behind you. Good look with this. --

:15:42. > :15:49.good look. -- good luck.

:15:50. > :15:55.This has been a winner, the great French rider Penelope Leprevost.

:15:56. > :16:01.With Flora de Mariposa. This horse pot on a world class performance to

:16:02. > :16:09.win on Thursday night. -- put on. You remember her jumping with that

:16:10. > :16:15.distinctive style, with the head up. This horse is so similar. It is

:16:16. > :16:21.almost a clone. Just running into the fences like that. For pleasure

:16:22. > :16:26.horses, if they have the right temperament, incredible jumpers.

:16:27. > :16:39.They always go a bit their own way. It is a great time of year for

:16:40. > :16:46.horses to be tested at Grand Prix level. They have had plenty of

:16:47. > :16:52.summer experience. A lovely round. The standard of riding, the standard

:16:53. > :17:00.of horses this week in London has been absolutely exceptional. Some

:17:01. > :17:06.friends have got two, Simon Delestre and now Penelope Leprevost. So

:17:07. > :17:15.efficient, the same style of jumping. Not letting the back legs

:17:16. > :17:20.go. Knowing exactly where the poles are located. This 23-year-old for

:17:21. > :17:25.Great Britain is somebody people are certainly talking about today, his

:17:26. > :17:33.first World Cup, his first time in the senior classes here at Olympia.

:17:34. > :17:38.Started his own yard earlier this year and he has come on in leaps and

:17:39. > :17:46.bounds. He finished third in that World Cup round yesterday, riding

:17:47. > :17:51.the same horse. Varo M. Daniel Neilson is the person everybody is

:17:52. > :17:57.talking about in a big way, he was second in the Grand Prix where he

:17:58. > :18:03.rode for Britain in the Nations cup. He has a good technique. I gave him

:18:04. > :18:08.the big hold-up yesterday for the World Cup, he certainly did not

:18:09. > :18:16.disappoint. Setting off in great style so far tonight. Varo M is a

:18:17. > :18:21.careful horse, technically makes a good shape over the fences, and a

:18:22. > :18:23.lovely rhythm. A great feel Daniel Neilson is putting into his horse

:18:24. > :18:34.here. If anybody wants to spend some big

:18:35. > :18:47.money on some Grand Prix horses, there is no better man to back. Yes,

:18:48. > :19:00.he is one of the young riders that have come out this year. That really

:19:01. > :19:08.is the business for the future. He hit the bottom everywhere, very

:19:09. > :19:12.accurate, great rhythm. -- button. And he has jumped another clear

:19:13. > :19:20.round. What a too horrific show he is having! -- terrific.

:19:21. > :19:24.This is the explosion into the big time, up against the older riders

:19:25. > :19:28.comedy finished third in the World Cup and now you are into the

:19:29. > :19:38.jump-off for the Palm pre-. I am over the moon, . -- for the Grand

:19:39. > :19:43.Prix. I am really pleased. You have just set up on your own and to have

:19:44. > :19:51.a good week he could set you up for life. I have a -- I had a good round

:19:52. > :19:55.for five years and now with my new owner Terry Wilson and girlfriend

:19:56. > :20:03.Stacey, we are doing our own thing and it is going well. It is great

:20:04. > :20:07.watching you. Thank you. Now it is Michael Whitaker. And what

:20:08. > :20:14.a blend we have of youth and senior experience. This man has come back

:20:15. > :20:20.with a huge year. He won the Madrid round of the global champions tour

:20:21. > :20:28.on this horse. He has jumped really good rounds. But responsibility --

:20:29. > :20:32.responsibility was on his shoulders and he came up with the goods to

:20:33. > :20:35.help Britain win the Gold medal. He was in that Masters this afternoon

:20:36. > :20:45.against Maikel van der Vleuten and got beaten by 0.8, and he will not

:20:46. > :20:50.want to tackle him again. He seemed to suddenly have to push to get

:20:51. > :20:56.there. Just took the shape out of his cantor. Produced a flat jump and

:20:57. > :21:01.that is a shame. We would like to see him in the jump-off. He was in

:21:02. > :21:06.it for the World Cup yesterday and he was really unlucky not to win it.

:21:07. > :21:11.But not happening tonight. He is retiring.

:21:12. > :21:23.His second in the Masters will be his best performance of Olympia

:21:24. > :21:28.2013. But that Gold medal in Denmark was something that really gave him

:21:29. > :21:33.huge satisfaction. Other people have been critical about his horse but he

:21:34. > :21:36.has really mastered it and it now looks so full of power and

:21:37. > :21:41.potential. A good batch of riders in this next

:21:42. > :21:47.lot, including Ben Maher, number two in the world. This is Tripple X,

:21:48. > :21:52.gorgeous horse, so collected. Ben Maher is very soft in his hands and

:21:53. > :21:58.strong in his buyer macro. John Whitaker next, Andy Austin thinks he

:21:59. > :22:02.could win it. -- in his buyer macro. He is 58 and he suffered from

:22:03. > :22:08.a fire aneurysm a couple of years ago and is lucky to be alive, never

:22:09. > :22:15.mind still computing -- a brain aneurysm. After that, Scott --,

:22:16. > :22:23.riding Ursula. She is very careful when she jumps. -6 macro. And he is

:22:24. > :22:29.number one in the world right now. -- Brash.

:22:30. > :22:36.Britain 's Guy Williams. So competitive. So you -- so near and

:22:37. > :22:46.yet so far this week. This is one of his young stars. He is a horse he

:22:47. > :22:54.thinks a lot of and he has won some good competitions this season.

:22:55. > :22:59.Probably a big competition, the biggest this horse has been in

:23:00. > :23:04.service. Quite a test. A big test, but they have had a summer of

:23:05. > :23:10.experience. This horse always had plenty of scope. The great thing

:23:11. > :23:15.about Guy Williams is that he can write any type of horse and he gives

:23:16. > :23:21.them a lot of confidence, he is a strong rider. -- he can ride. He has

:23:22. > :23:28.taken a stride out, this will be short now. I do not know how he

:23:29. > :23:34.jumped that. That was different! Just this last double!

:23:35. > :23:46.What a positive ride! He meant business. Typical of Guy Williams.

:23:47. > :23:50.And for a nine-year-old, who has not had much mileage yet, a very good

:23:51. > :23:57.round indeed. Owned by Caroline Phillips, a lot of very satisfied

:23:58. > :24:03.supporters here. He took a stride out to the triple bar which is in --

:24:04. > :24:11.and extraordinary desertion. -- decision. That is the last double,

:24:12. > :24:17.we are not going to let this go now! Great to see him in the jump-off.

:24:18. > :24:28.This is the man who is Britain 's first world number one, then Maher.

:24:29. > :24:36.-- then Maher. -- Ben Maher. It was then taken off him by Scott Brash.

:24:37. > :24:42.He has not had a good week by his very high standards. Riding the

:24:43. > :24:45.horse Tripple X that he won the Grand Prix on. The Royal

:24:46. > :24:55.International show. He is looking for a clear round. Ben Maher is

:24:56. > :24:59.Olympic Gold medallist and a European team Gold medallist. This

:25:00. > :25:05.crowd will erupt if he can jump clear, he has not had a good week.

:25:06. > :25:12.Certainly disappointing yesterday, Tripple X not really at the races.

:25:13. > :25:17.We have seen him on so many occasions on Grand Prix night

:25:18. > :25:26.raising his game. This horse is focusing just that bit more.

:25:27. > :25:41.He could just do with them getting into the jump-off. One more to jump!

:25:42. > :25:47.Much better round from him. From the combination that won the British

:25:48. > :25:52.team Gold medal. So it is a clear round number nine now. And Britain

:25:53. > :26:01.R.N. At, they have got Daniel Neilson. -- Britain are in it. They

:26:02. > :26:08.have Guy Williams and now Ben Maher. A brilliant round from Ben Maher and

:26:09. > :26:12.Tripple X, perfect all the way. You could see the focus. Ben Maher has

:26:13. > :26:17.not had the greatest week and he was not going to make mistakes tonight.

:26:18. > :26:28.But this man has been jumping out of his skin, John Whitaker, with

:26:29. > :26:35.Argento. He has won virtually every competition at Olympia. But he has

:26:36. > :26:40.never won this competition. This horse has really jumped some good

:26:41. > :26:49.rounds here, but just had mistakes. But John has been determined and is

:26:50. > :26:58.determined again now. He is normally a good vertical jump. -- jumper.

:26:59. > :27:16.Just got to encourage him to get over those back rails.

:27:17. > :27:26.Just this last double stretch here. He has done it! I do not think I

:27:27. > :27:34.have seen John Whitaker ride in a more determined way for ten years.

:27:35. > :27:40.My word, that was great! This is a very careful horse. He is getting

:27:41. > :27:44.better as time goes on, he is 58 now and he is as confusing as stick as

:27:45. > :27:49.ever and he gave this a brilliant goal, spot on all the way. Really

:27:50. > :27:59.encouraged Argento to stretch. And watched down this distance. A big

:28:00. > :28:05.stride. Argento is so careful. A great round, how did it feel?

:28:06. > :28:09.Really good, he due -- he jumped super. He was hectic in the World

:28:10. > :28:12.Cup but I went fast with him on Friday in the jump-off and he was

:28:13. > :28:19.still thinking about that, but today was more relaxed and jumping really

:28:20. > :28:29.good. He does a strange thing in the warm up, he always has his time

:28:30. > :28:34.doubt. It is, -- tongue out. His father used to do the same, so it

:28:35. > :28:40.must be in the family. People laughed at him. You may have the

:28:41. > :28:46.last laugh! The world 's number one, Britain 's

:28:47. > :28:52.Scott Brash, what a year. Following that Gold in London, Gold and the

:28:53. > :28:57.European Championships and an individual bronze, brilliant

:28:58. > :29:05.final-round to go up into bronze. And in the last month, he has won

:29:06. > :29:14.two, one big Grand Prix Indo heart and a big bonus in an Cup Final in

:29:15. > :29:18.Barcelona. -- Indo heart. And two second placings. He has been in

:29:19. > :29:31.tremendous form, riding Ursula. He went very close in the World

:29:32. > :29:38.Cup. He just had a fence down in the jump-off. I mentioned a couple of

:29:39. > :29:45.times that this horse was written by Tina Fletcher before Scott Brash. --

:29:46. > :29:55.ridden. A lot of credit must go to mark tolerable in Scotland. -- Mark

:29:56. > :30:00.Turnbull. I think those early years of education that horses have, it is

:30:01. > :30:08.a lot of work to get them up to that level.

:30:09. > :30:19.He has got such a wonderful temperament. The world number one.

:30:20. > :30:26.It has not in anyway this man. He really is a very cool customer, a

:30:27. > :30:32.great writer. He said yesterday he felt personally would be better

:30:33. > :30:39.today. -- Ursula XII would be better today.

:30:40. > :30:47.She was superb, wasn't cheap? Yes, she is a fantastic course. She

:30:48. > :30:54.jumped great. A lot of clear rounds so far. It should be an entertaining

:30:55. > :31:00.tromp off. -- jump-off. I watched the first couple and see what I need

:31:01. > :31:10.to do. How competitive are you feeling? I was quickly yesterday. I

:31:11. > :31:17.will try to do the same. And now Laura Renwick. Ranked 55 in

:31:18. > :31:21.the world. The higher you come in the rankings, the more you can jump

:31:22. > :31:26.on the big international stage, the more experience you get. That has

:31:27. > :31:38.been a big bonus for Laura. She has had a good win this week on this

:31:39. > :31:46.horse, Oz de Breve. She went well in the World Cup. It would be great if

:31:47. > :31:51.she could find that form again here. Laura has given this horse a bit of

:31:52. > :31:56.a break recently. As she said, both she and the worse were probably a

:31:57. > :32:00.bit rusty going into the World Cup. -- and the horse. He did a job

:32:01. > :32:10.well. He has been such a fabulous winner for Laura. What a career she

:32:11. > :32:20.has carved out for herself. She is so competitive.

:32:21. > :32:34.Just pulling down to those planks. That was a shame. He does get quite

:32:35. > :32:42.strong towards the end of the round. We are going to see more of this

:32:43. > :32:46.lady, I am sure. Britain's leading lady rider. She has been placed a

:32:47. > :32:57.number of times. But not tonight for Laura. Jumped a bit flat. Took hold

:32:58. > :33:02.of the bridle when he landed. What a great week for you? Yes, I

:33:03. > :33:07.have had a superb week. I was pleased with how my horse jumped. It

:33:08. > :33:11.was the slightest touch. I'm a little disappointed but I thought he

:33:12. > :33:16.jumped a great round. Will you end up as leading rider whoever wins? I

:33:17. > :33:21.don't know. I think I could be caught. It would be lovely to crown

:33:22. > :33:24.the week like that. It is always a fantastic show. Such a great

:33:25. > :33:30.atmosphere and it is good to get some good results in front of these

:33:31. > :33:36.crowds. This is an interesting combination.

:33:37. > :33:44.Cian O'Conor from Ireland won this in 2009. Tremendous performance.

:33:45. > :33:52.This is the horse he won the individual bronze medal on. He came

:33:53. > :34:03.from nowhere in the London Olympics. He has already won a Grand Prix in

:34:04. > :34:08.Europe. He is riding this horse because he has not written it many

:34:09. > :34:16.times since it has been back to him. -- ridden. It is a small horse. A

:34:17. > :34:23.lot of fight. You can see what a cheeky little horse he is. Having a

:34:24. > :34:30.skip and a play. I think these to fit each other very well. Cian

:34:31. > :34:36.O'Conor working hard to get the balance around that corner. He has

:34:37. > :34:53.gone fairly slowly. We have not seen anybody with time falls. -- faults.

:34:54. > :34:59.We will keep an eye on his time. He certainly is not hanging about. A

:35:00. > :35:05.wonderful ride. My word, they found a rhythm and they have got that

:35:06. > :35:10.partnership going again. It was a great round. They work really well

:35:11. > :35:20.together. He is a tough little horse. Plenty of power and bounds.

:35:21. > :35:25.-- bounce. A little fighter. He jumps every fence. The Netherlands

:35:26. > :35:57.still a big force. Jur Vrieling has been a winner this

:35:58. > :36:10.week and has looked sharp. Harrie Smolders with a clear round and then

:36:11. > :36:18.Maikel van der Vleuten. Jur Vrieling is a great technician. He sits very

:36:19. > :36:20.correctly. Effective, stylish jockey. He has been around for a

:36:21. > :36:45.good while. The Dutch are definitely looking for

:36:46. > :36:55.revenge she. Three clear rounds for them. Jur Vrieling, Zirocco Blue Vdl

:36:56. > :37:02.yell. They look in very good form. Great piece of writing will stop --

:37:03. > :37:10.great piece of writing. He is clearly delighted. And so he should

:37:11. > :37:33.be. So we have 13 riders going forward to the jump-off.

:37:34. > :37:41.So we are off in what could be a really great finish to show-jumping

:37:42. > :37:47.in 2013, not only for Britain but also in Britain. The development of

:37:48. > :37:53.the global champions tour in London, a huge development for the sport in

:37:54. > :37:59.this country. At the moment the sport is riding high. This is not

:38:00. > :38:04.going to be a pushover for a British rider. There is a strong challenger.

:38:05. > :38:10.It is the first of the three Dodge challengers, a very good man against

:38:11. > :38:17.the clock. But he has not got a great draw. Harrie Smolders with

:38:18. > :38:29.Emerald. They will all come macro back inside

:38:30. > :38:41.here -- come. This line here, the two doubles... He had a big wobble

:38:42. > :38:50.down there. Got the six strides. He is having a real go. I think the

:38:51. > :38:54.Dutch have really set out tonight to avenge that gold medal Britain won

:38:55. > :39:01.in London. That was a great run. Great run. Clear. And he has not

:39:02. > :39:13.left a lot. Just have a look at this. Use saw the wobble. For a

:39:14. > :39:23.second, Emerald did not have a clue where he was going. Great start.

:39:24. > :39:33.Geir Gulliksen will not sit back. He would love to win here at Olympia.

:39:34. > :39:43.He has never won this grand pre-. It is a big ask. But he will give it a

:39:44. > :39:49.go. -- Grand Prix. Just slowed down a little bit. So disappointing to

:39:50. > :39:55.have an early fence down. You get revved up to have a blitz around and

:39:56. > :40:05.go for it. He has just got to try to get home without having another

:40:06. > :40:20.fence them. A bit slower. Coming home in 36.83. Turning back to that

:40:21. > :40:26.wall, maybe got a fraction close. A bit unlucky. Down to the last fence.

:40:27. > :40:39.It is all over for Geir Gulliksen tonight. Simon Delestre is a very

:40:40. > :40:47.well-known man against the clock in France. He has won a lot of

:40:48. > :40:55.competitions. This man will be another to give it his full, full

:40:56. > :40:58.effort. Remember, he was second to Maikel van der Vleuten in

:40:59. > :41:07.Maastricht. He has got some good Grand Prix form. This horse is great

:41:08. > :41:19.going forward. Very difficult to turn. The patter and very often in

:41:20. > :41:22.these big jump-off 's is that the first two or three try to go

:41:23. > :41:26.quickly, make mistakes and suddenly, as you get towards the end

:41:27. > :41:34.of the course, the end of the round, it is all about jumping clear.

:41:35. > :41:44.Quicker time. We know the time can be beaten. One fence down. And

:41:45. > :41:55.incredibly fast horse. A lot of blood. This man is on for an

:41:56. > :42:00.interesting double here in London. He won the World Cup here

:42:01. > :42:05.yesterday. He won the Masters this afternoon. And the big travel would

:42:06. > :42:12.be the Grand Prix tonight. -- treble. 25 years old, a man with a

:42:13. > :42:23.real pedigree following in the footsteps of his very good father,

:42:24. > :42:29.Eric. This is an eight-year-old, only just reached Grand Prix level.

:42:30. > :42:36.What do you do? Jump a steady clear or do you go for it?

:42:37. > :42:53.He is not really motoring. Nice and smooth.

:42:54. > :43:05.Now he is going to have two open the strike up. Now he is going to have

:43:06. > :43:16.two open the stride up. A lovely smooth round, just over a second

:43:17. > :43:29.behind. It is a Dutch one two at the moment. We have jump-off or of the

:43:30. > :43:33.13. -- row four of the 13. Nursed the horse around. He is obviously

:43:34. > :43:38.pleased with that. He won the World Cup yesterday. He has had a very

:43:39. > :43:46.good show. Now the classic style of the French leading lady, Penelope

:43:47. > :43:54.Leprevost, Flora de Mariposa. She won this Grand Prix in 2010. She

:43:55. > :44:02.knows the satisfaction of winning it. She will try to catch Harrie

:44:03. > :44:16.Smolders. She is a naturally quick rider. She is certainly going for

:44:17. > :44:23.it. This is already quick. This mayor is a real fighter. Lucky. She

:44:24. > :44:33.has got to be faster. Change of mind. She has done it! She has done

:44:34. > :44:41.it! 32.73, she has chipped away at it. How much faster can they go? She

:44:42. > :44:47.did not leave a lot of space. That was a great round. An eight-year-old

:44:48. > :44:58.mare. Just watch the effort this horse puts in. Really powers off the

:44:59. > :45:04.floor, uses her body. She had a little change of mind at the last

:45:05. > :45:14.and produced the job. If fabulous round. -- the jump. Daniel Neilson

:45:15. > :45:21.from Great Britain. Varo M. He took the policy in the World Cup when he

:45:22. > :45:25.jumped into third place yesterday of an economical clear round. I don't

:45:26. > :45:35.think you can do that tonight if he wants to win money. Yaz got nothing

:45:36. > :45:41.to lose. It is already quick. Spin back and go for it. He needs to open

:45:42. > :45:48.the stride up. Just a little bit steady on the corner. That is gone.

:45:49. > :45:55.Daniel Neilson has had a great show. This is not going to be his class.

:45:56. > :46:02.He has certainly impressed me this week. He can get up in some place

:46:03. > :46:09.money. Good time. It would not have been quick enough but still a decent

:46:10. > :46:12.time. This man has impressed not only Andy Austin, but he has

:46:13. > :46:21.impressed a lot of the major experts here in London this weekend. Well

:46:22. > :46:25.done, Daniel Neilson. Unlucky jumping the vertical. He did not get

:46:26. > :46:31.into the big helping stride he needed. A rueful smile. He knows he

:46:32. > :46:39.has had a great week. Now the British challenge steps up to the

:46:40. > :46:43.plate. Daniel Neilson in fifth. This man just loves a challenge against

:46:44. > :46:50.the clock. But it is a youngster who has not had the experience at this

:46:51. > :46:53.level. Guy Williams is not a youngster and he has had plenty of

:46:54. > :47:09.experience! That will not stop him. He is already flying.

:47:10. > :47:30.It is gone! Slightly ragged. What a shame. Great effort. When he won the

:47:31. > :47:36.talent seekers, he thought this horse was useful. Always tremendous

:47:37. > :47:50.value for money. He flew around the course. Gave it everything he had.

:47:51. > :47:58.This has been an extraordinary week by Ben Maher's standards. His

:47:59. > :48:03.Olympic gold medal winning team-mate, Peter Charles, is giving

:48:04. > :48:10.him advice. Go as fast as you can, he says. That will win it! Now Peder

:48:11. > :48:20.Fredricson. This man has been in great form. Four wins in Stockholm

:48:21. > :48:28.recently. H Cash In. He will definitely be trying to catch

:48:29. > :48:35.Penelope Leprevost. Difficult course to manoeuvre. That was one fence he

:48:36. > :48:46.wanted to see the back of. Scuttling across the ground. You don't want to

:48:47. > :48:52.add a stride there. Every stride cost you a lot of time. He has got

:48:53. > :49:08.to gamble. He is still quick. He is in touch. Exactly the same time as

:49:09. > :49:12.Harrie Smolders. What a terrible decision. It is easy to sit here and

:49:13. > :49:18.criticised, but coming down this line, he started fighting with his

:49:19. > :49:22.words. When that happens, it is so easy to take an extra stride. He

:49:23. > :49:33.knows what he has done. It has cost them the lead. Three British riders

:49:34. > :49:36.on the trot. Ben Maher, ranked number two in the world, John

:49:37. > :49:45.Whitaker and then Scott Brash. Fasten your safety belts.

:49:46. > :49:52.Interestingly enough, Andy, when then won the Grand Prix at Hickstead

:49:53. > :49:56.on this very horse, it came off a disappointing performance in the

:49:57. > :50:06.Nations cup. The horse but in a brilliant performance to win it.

:50:07. > :50:17.Could he do it again? Has it stayed? Jost. -- only just. Is that the luck

:50:18. > :50:23.that he needed? He is tapping and rolling the fences. They are all

:50:24. > :50:29.still there. The gamble is to take the stride out to the last fence. He

:50:30. > :50:38.has done the gamble! Look at the time! He has done it! 31.83 is the

:50:39. > :50:46.time on the clock. Ben Maher has taken up the challenge. History is

:50:47. > :50:53.repeating itself. If there is a God, he is there down on Ben Maher. He

:50:54. > :50:58.was so lucky. That was the first bit of luck. I don't know how the walls

:50:59. > :51:03.stayed. Look at this one. I think he hit that with his belly and he

:51:04. > :51:11.pushed the poll back on. If he wins tonight, it is lucky Ben Maher. John

:51:12. > :51:22.Whitaker. He has won to Grand Prix is in recent weeks. He won in

:51:23. > :51:39.Munich. Can he come on this British bred horse, Argento, go quicker than

:51:40. > :51:41.then Mark? 31.85. -- Ben Maher. John is going to have to take some big

:51:42. > :52:02.gambles here. He is in touch! Just gamble, keep

:52:03. > :52:13.going! He is certainly close. Not quite. How close can you get? 700th

:52:14. > :52:19.of a second. This man is unbelievable. 58 years young, a

:52:20. > :52:26.sensational round. This horse is getting better at 11 years old, in a

:52:27. > :52:32.big way. This was a fantastic piece of riding. The only thing that

:52:33. > :52:36.really caught him out, he just could not quite take the stride out to the

:52:37. > :52:41.last. He has not got the range and his movement. John Whitaker, what a

:52:42. > :52:49.legend. Ben Maher leads, John Whitaker second, France third. Here

:52:50. > :53:01.comes the man ranked number one in the world, Scott Brash, riding this

:53:02. > :53:04.super 12-year-old mare, Ursula XII. This horse is completely different

:53:05. > :53:13.from Argento. He has got a massive stride. And he can cover the ground.

:53:14. > :53:23.But no, he tried to turn very tight to the wall. Just getting a little

:53:24. > :53:32.bit hot-headed now. Just settling her down. So much has gone right for

:53:33. > :53:37.Scott Brash in recent weeks. When things do not go right, you tend to

:53:38. > :53:40.be so disappointed. This mare is just magic. He has not done it a

:53:41. > :53:48.night. He has been in there trying again. That is why Britain is now

:53:49. > :53:58.one of the world 's major courses in show-jumping. It is not done yet for

:53:59. > :54:02.Great Britain. Lookout tight Scott tried to make the turn. He got to

:54:03. > :54:07.where he wanted to be but it was so incredibly close. Our Schiller did

:54:08. > :54:13.not really push up into the air, heated with the front legs. --

:54:14. > :54:26.Ursula XII. Cian O'Conor for Ireland. He won the

:54:27. > :54:34.Grand Prix in Dublin. He has won this Grand Prix before. Little

:54:35. > :54:44.horse. What a try. So need over the wall. -- neat. Tried to turn in the

:54:45. > :55:01.air came down on the rail. Just one rider left. British riders in first

:55:02. > :55:08.and second at the moment. We have certainly had our fair share of

:55:09. > :55:13.excitement tonight. It looks to be really -- building towards a real

:55:14. > :55:22.climax. Cian O'Conor has played his part. 35.25. Watch him try to turn

:55:23. > :55:29.slightly in the air, really unlucky. Then down to the last fence. He

:55:30. > :55:40.coated with his back legs. -- he called it. One man between a British

:55:41. > :55:47.victory in the Olympia Grand Prix. That was last achieved by Robert

:55:48. > :55:58.Smith in 1995. Jur Vrieling is a very good man against the clock.

:55:59. > :56:01.Zirocco Blue Vdl yell. He was in the jump-off where Britain picked

:56:02. > :56:09.Holland for the gold medal at the Olympics. This horse has massive

:56:10. > :56:17.stride. Eating up the ground. Fantastic fluid turn. This cannot be

:56:18. > :56:22.too far away. He does have the power to gamble over the last fence. He

:56:23. > :56:29.stood off that one mile. He has steadied up. He is not going to get

:56:30. > :56:38.there. It is a British winner! Jur Vrieling, 33.31. It is a British

:56:39. > :56:46.one, two. Ben Maher wins with Tripple X III. John Whitaker is

:56:47. > :56:51.second with Argento. And Penelope Leprevost is third for France.

:56:52. > :56:57.Confirmation of a wonderful Olympia Grand Prix. What a night, what a

:56:58. > :57:05.class. Well done. You rattled a couple.

:57:06. > :57:11.Absolutely. We have had no luck this week. Tripple X III felt on form.

:57:12. > :57:17.The jump was quite awkward. It was my lucky night, so I am very happy.

:57:18. > :57:25.Peter Charles said in before you went in to go as fast as you can.

:57:26. > :57:29.Tripple X III is a fast course. It set him up well towards the end. I

:57:30. > :57:33.think the horses are tired towards the end of the week. It has been a

:57:34. > :57:38.rough wait for me. Always good to finish on a good night. This is one

:57:39. > :57:44.of the few big prizes that you had yet to win? There is huge prize

:57:45. > :57:46.money over the world now and great competition but there is never

:57:47. > :57:52.anything like winning in of your home crowd. It is nice to finish

:57:53. > :57:59.before Christmas on a good note. Happy Christmas. Thank you. Ben

:58:00. > :58:03.Maher wins the Libya Grand Prix from John Whitaker, very nearly winning

:58:04. > :58:10.another big prize at the age of 58. More sport to, at Christmas.

:58:11. > :58:30.-- come. We hope you have enjoyed it. Have a

:58:31. > :58:43.very happy Christmas goodbye.
