:00:41. > :00:46.Good afternoon. After the FA Cup took centre stage last weekend, we
:00:47. > :00:52.will focus on the final stages of the Premier League season today. He
:00:53. > :01:03.is a man who divides opinion, and his are certainly strong. West
:01:04. > :01:09.Brom's James McClean tells all. People see me as anti-British. We
:01:10. > :01:14.look ahead to a big week end in the title race for both Chelsea and
:01:15. > :01:18.Spurs. It is getting tighter at the bottom as well, the Swansea's Leon
:01:19. > :01:25.Britton knows how to stoke up the fire. You see it every day in
:01:26. > :01:29.training that the players are fighting. We also have a noble
:01:30. > :01:34.captain at West Ham, but who exactly is he talking about here? I'm pretty
:01:35. > :01:40.sure 50% of the male fans loved him more than they did their wives at
:01:41. > :01:47.some point. You will hear James Ward-Prowse from Southampton and
:01:48. > :01:54.find out which manager line of duty's Ted Hastings is based on.
:01:55. > :01:58.Matthew Upson and Leon Osman Arhip, refusing to answer any presenter --
:01:59. > :02:02.any questions from any presenter who is not at least one rank above them.
:02:03. > :02:08.All 20 Premier League clubs in action over the next three days.
:02:09. > :02:11.Today features the teams battling relegation. Hull versus Southampton
:02:12. > :02:16.as they bid to stay out of the relegation zone. Sunderland will be
:02:17. > :02:24.relegated if they fail to win and results go against them. Tomorrow,
:02:25. > :02:28.six of the top seven are all in action. Chelsea facing a tough match
:02:29. > :02:33.at Everton and Tottenham at home in the north London derby. All of that
:02:34. > :02:37.to come but we start with a fascinating interview with West
:02:38. > :02:40.Brom's James McClean. Beginning his career at every city, his decision
:02:41. > :02:45.to play for the Republic of Ireland and refusal to wear a poppy had
:02:46. > :02:47.brought plenty of criticism and even death threats. He has been telling
:02:48. > :03:07.his story. What was it like growing up in Derry
:03:08. > :03:13.and your first experiences of football? It is a small city.
:03:14. > :03:16.Playing football in the streets. You had to be dragged home at bag,
:03:17. > :03:24.kicking and screaming. I got in trouble a lot. My parents will tell
:03:25. > :03:40.you that. A few smacks for getting up to no good. I wouldn't change it
:03:41. > :03:45.for anything. You would like the golden boy back home and you have
:03:46. > :03:52.come over here and things kind of changed. Yes. That's where a lot of
:03:53. > :04:00.the kind of negative press came from. Back in Derry, I could tweet
:04:01. > :04:07.what I want and do what I want and no one cared. All of a sudden, I
:04:08. > :04:11.found out it is in the papers today, I haven't changed, I'm still the
:04:12. > :04:18.same person I am. I wouldn't want to change because that is not me. If I
:04:19. > :04:21.did change, I would be a fraud. When people become footballers, they are
:04:22. > :04:27.all given a script and they seem to go off the script which is boring,
:04:28. > :04:34.it is not them and me. If you like it, you like, if you don't, you
:04:35. > :04:42.don't. You have been pulled off because a baby on social media. Some
:04:43. > :04:50.petty stuff blown out of proportion, I grew up in the Northern Ireland so
:04:51. > :04:58.I wrote on Twitter that I was, and all of a sudden it is in the papers
:04:59. > :05:01.that I am pro-IRA and pro this. The way it goes now, if you see
:05:02. > :05:09.something in the paper, you believe it. I have been quite lucky that the
:05:10. > :05:13.managers have been fight understanding. They have understood
:05:14. > :05:21.my side of the story. They have said we understand and how it is seen as
:05:22. > :05:28.well, so they helped me so myself getting more flak than I needed
:05:29. > :05:33.really. Since you came over here, you have had death threats and
:05:34. > :05:38.people wanting career threatening injuries happen to you. Yes, I have
:05:39. > :05:43.had death threats and people see me as anti-British. I want to go on
:05:44. > :05:46.record here that I have never been anti-British. There are certain
:05:47. > :05:53.things I don't agree with, my beliefs. I have made that clear in
:05:54. > :05:58.the past. But I take people at face value. I treat people how they treat
:05:59. > :06:04.me. Yes, I have had a lot of death threats. It started when I declared
:06:05. > :06:09.for the Republic. I was an Irish boy growing up and I supported Ireland.
:06:10. > :06:14.I played with Northern Ireland in the youth system. I have never hid
:06:15. > :06:22.from the fact that I took advantage of that system. To better myself.
:06:23. > :06:27.But I never had any ambition of playing for Northern Ireland. I said
:06:28. > :06:31.it made me feel uncomfortable, why should I feel uncomfortable playing
:06:32. > :06:35.football? Never any hatred towards Northern Ireland or their fans or
:06:36. > :06:38.the football team. There are lots of Northern Ireland internationals I
:06:39. > :06:44.play with and get on well with. I was getting death threats for
:06:45. > :06:50.declaring for my country. Why should again I turn away after getting
:06:51. > :06:58.abuse and save that they can abuse me but I have to like them now? It
:06:59. > :07:03.is as simple as that. I don't think I should have to change. Have you
:07:04. > :07:11.ever felt uncomfortable playing football then? It is not nice people
:07:12. > :07:17.booing. It was difficult to start with because it was coming from my
:07:18. > :07:22.own fans. Before that, I could do no wrong, started my second season very
:07:23. > :07:28.well. Then came the whole poppy gate. It quickly turned. James
:07:29. > :07:33.McClean, the 23 old midfielder was criticised for his decision not to
:07:34. > :07:36.wear a remember the state poppy. Playing at home you feel you should
:07:37. > :07:43.have the support of your own fans and I didn't. The way the second
:07:44. > :07:48.season went for me, I would have liked to play better and not let
:07:49. > :07:54.things affect me but they did. I make sure pretty quickly going
:07:55. > :08:00.forward that they were never going to affect me in that way again and I
:08:01. > :08:05.am a stronger person now for it. Was the time you thought I don't need
:08:06. > :08:09.this? A funny story, I was coming back from one of the last games of
:08:10. > :08:19.the season. Like I normally do, I take home. Because you never know
:08:20. > :08:23.who needs one. I gave it to a kid outside the stadium and this person
:08:24. > :08:31.took it off him and threw it back at me. On the way home at the traffic
:08:32. > :08:36.lights, I pulled up and there was a car here and a car here, and a guy
:08:37. > :08:40.rolled down the window and spat at the window and drove off with my Mrs
:08:41. > :08:48.in the car, and she was pregnant at the time. I was thinking I don't
:08:49. > :08:54.need all this hassle. So I went in the next day and said I think it is
:08:55. > :09:04.time I move on and explained the situation. You took a step back with
:09:05. > :09:08.Wigan but you are here now, so in a way, that step back out of the
:09:09. > :09:11.limelight has benefited you? I was on a much better contract at
:09:12. > :09:15.Sunderland but I wanted to play football. I wanted to get back in
:09:16. > :09:22.the Premier League. My performances earned it. What did Tony Pulis say
:09:23. > :09:28.to you? What kind of conversation did he have when you came here? I
:09:29. > :09:37.was on the verge of signing for someone else but I could not turn
:09:38. > :09:41.down the chance of playing in the Premier League again. I spoke with
:09:42. > :09:47.Tony and he outlined his plans for me and for the club. And it was a
:09:48. > :09:56.no-brainer. Having a manager that believes in you, there is no better
:09:57. > :09:59.feeling. The you know what you get with Tony, you are going to work
:10:00. > :10:03.hard and he will take a liking to you but the act-macro because he is
:10:04. > :10:07.nothing but hard work. That is what you are paid to do as a footballer.
:10:08. > :10:14.I would like to stay him any more years, I have a long-term contract
:10:15. > :10:20.and I want to represent the club in the right way. I want to be the best
:10:21. > :10:32.I can be. I feel that West Brom want to be the same. They feel they can
:10:33. > :10:38.be even better again. You are so soft spoken but so aggressive on the
:10:39. > :10:42.pitch. That is my game, it is what I want. A few people in the past have
:10:43. > :10:49.not done me any favours. We played Bournemouth at home last season and
:10:50. > :10:55.I dived into a tackle. I still don't think it was a red card. He has
:10:56. > :11:00.rolled over five times and screams like he has been shot. I thought it
:11:01. > :11:08.was hard but fair. I'm not going to change that either. It has gotten me
:11:09. > :11:11.this far. Oxford Bulls, a down syndrome team, you got involved in
:11:12. > :11:16.that during the last international break and it has caused a stir
:11:17. > :11:22.since. I had the best day ever to be honest. Seeing how happy they were
:11:23. > :11:28.to see me. It made me feel on top of the world. It was amazing. Football
:11:29. > :11:31.just brings so much joy to so many people come in the matter what
:11:32. > :11:36.religion, race, colour, whatever you are. For that two hours playing
:11:37. > :11:43.football, all your troubles are forgotten about. The kids just made
:11:44. > :11:50.my day, it was amazing. It made me feel great and even better knowing
:11:51. > :11:52.they have a lot to offer and play competitive games. There is no
:11:53. > :11:55.better feeling than seeing someone else happy. Knowing that you made
:11:56. > :12:14.them that happy. Derry City have paid to be to Ryan
:12:15. > :12:22.McBride who has died at the age of 27. You were very close to Ryan and
:12:23. > :12:27.it had an emotional affect, losing a friend in the manner that you did.
:12:28. > :12:36.The news of him passing away was something no one expected. It was a
:12:37. > :12:42.massive shock. It hit hard because he was the same age as me. I played
:12:43. > :12:48.two and a half seasons with him at Derry. I got on well with him. He
:12:49. > :12:53.was the nicest person you could have come across. On the pitch though he
:12:54. > :13:03.was an absolute lunatic. His desire to win. He was just fearless on the
:13:04. > :13:10.pitch. He was Mr Derry City. If there was anyone who loves football,
:13:11. > :13:16.it was him. I went to the wake and it just didn't seem real. I had no
:13:17. > :13:23.emotion, I couldn't cry, I most felt guilty that I couldn't. Then there
:13:24. > :13:27.was the minute's applause and that is when it got to me, everything
:13:28. > :13:34.boiled up and it came out in that moment. Anyway, I just tried to use
:13:35. > :13:39.that emotion and channel it the right way and put it into the
:13:40. > :13:48.performance. Thinking of him and thinking that one is for you.
:13:49. > :13:52.Allsorts covered in that interview, James was speaking after West Brom
:13:53. > :13:57.held a special opening day for fans and towns to meet players and watch
:13:58. > :14:01.an open training session as well. We know he is a divisive character, I
:14:02. > :14:05.am sure people are shouting at the TV now asking why we have him on.
:14:06. > :14:10.Others will be saying look at the strength of his convictions and the
:14:11. > :14:14.charity work he does and you can't accuse him then and say he is not a
:14:15. > :14:20.man of conviction. We need to praise him for that, don't we? Definitely.
:14:21. > :14:26.He is a man who does everything to the best of his ability. Whether on
:14:27. > :14:29.the field or off the field. Look at the tackling in his game that people
:14:30. > :14:35.think is a bit borderline but he attacks everything with the utmost
:14:36. > :14:40.ability that he can. You have to give him credit for that. It would
:14:41. > :14:45.be easy to shy away and take the easy option and go along with
:14:46. > :14:50.everything. Absolutely, you can't make a decision like that to take
:14:51. > :14:55.that stance lightly. Maybe you can say it has affected his career path
:14:56. > :15:00.but he has made it with conviction, they are his beliefs. And to see and
:15:01. > :15:05.hear his side of why he makes that decision is important for people to
:15:06. > :15:12.understand. That drive to get to the top, in whatever sport, he certainly
:15:13. > :15:16.has that and the decision not to go to America but to go to West Brom
:15:17. > :15:17.and play under Tony Pulis and to play in the Premier League even
:15:18. > :15:27.though he gets flak. He does, and he has come up against
:15:28. > :15:31.criticism which might affect less people more back to ie he is such a
:15:32. > :15:37.big character that he is able to handle it. It has affected him about
:15:38. > :15:43.he is able to handle at. How will West Brom look back on their season?
:15:44. > :15:49.Fourth, then sixth and have stayed in eighth since early December. That
:15:50. > :15:53.is success for West Brom, isn't it? It is outstanding. To be sitting in
:15:54. > :15:58.that position in the Premier League with the resources and funds, and
:15:59. > :16:03.some would say the style they have. They have a manager and are a team
:16:04. > :16:16.who know who they are, they set up well to win matches, and it has been
:16:17. > :16:19.a really successful year for West Brom. A bit of identity. Leicester
:16:20. > :16:21.are the visitors to the Hawthorns this afternoon and they still need
:16:22. > :16:22.points to win tour survival after the defeat
:16:23. > :16:28.COMMENTATOR: Arsenal buoyed by their FA Cup semifinal success.
:16:29. > :16:45.Right into the box it goes. Good save! Riyad Mahrez. Lovely flick,
:16:46. > :16:50.good save by Schmeichel. Is there a sting in the first half tail? One
:16:51. > :16:55.minute of added time. The shot comes in from Sanchez and slams against
:16:56. > :16:59.the crossbar. Shot comes in, takes a deflection, clawed away. He is going
:17:00. > :17:13.to the back four now. Sanchez. Little deflection. Olivier
:17:14. > :17:18.Giroud can't get to the ball. Monreal gets it in, the deflection
:17:19. > :17:23.has carried it in! Suddenly the mood has changed that the emirates. What
:17:24. > :17:29.a good three points it would be for Arsenal. This will go right into the
:17:30. > :17:33.penalty area. This is all rather feeble. Sanchez is absolutely fine
:17:34. > :17:38.and get the yellow card. Arsenal prevail, just.
:17:39. > :17:44.A bit of beauty and the beast. Let's go live to the Hawthorns where it
:17:45. > :17:48.John Watson has shed the sheepskin, as you can see. Lovely to see you.
:17:49. > :17:55.Leicester will be desperate for the point they need for the champions to
:17:56. > :17:59.be safe. Absolutely. After all the triumph, trials and tribulations and
:18:00. > :18:03.traumas, if you like, of the last 12 months, you would think Leicester
:18:04. > :18:06.City would be settling down for a quiet summer but far from it for
:18:07. > :18:10.more than one reason. They do need one more win to be mathematically
:18:11. > :18:14.certain of staying in the Premier League, I think they will get that,
:18:15. > :18:18.but the other agenda is the future of Craig Shakespeare. I am still
:18:19. > :18:31.assured, as has already been announced, that the decision will be
:18:32. > :18:34.made at the end of the season, but it could depend quite a lot on
:18:35. > :18:37.Leicester's performances in the last five games, starting with this. They
:18:38. > :18:40.have Tottenham and Man City still to play and I think the owners will be
:18:41. > :18:42.carrying a close watch on Leicester's performances in those
:18:43. > :18:47.games. They may finish mid-table mediocrity, but how they finish may
:18:48. > :18:50.determine whether Shakespeare and his assistant get the job
:18:51. > :18:54.permanently at the start of next season, so the players had better
:18:55. > :18:58.get on their bikes and make sure that if they want them to carry on,
:18:59. > :19:02.that their performances show they merit back. A year ago, you may
:19:03. > :19:08.remember when Leicester won the league, there was speculation about
:19:09. > :19:12.the stellar players, would Vardy go to Arsenal, would Mahrez go
:19:13. > :19:15.elsewhere, would somebody try to get Kasper Schmeichel. I think that
:19:16. > :19:20.could be repeated this summer because the window is so turbulent,
:19:21. > :19:24.big clubs are setting out messages via agents about the players they
:19:25. > :19:27.would like to sign, so I think it will be a very busy time at
:19:28. > :19:32.Leicester whether it is with or without Craig Shakespeare. Two quick
:19:33. > :19:45.things before I go, you already mentioned West Brom, they haven't
:19:46. > :19:47.scored for four games. If it goes to five today it will be the longest
:19:48. > :19:49.scoreless run in West Bromwich Albion's long and distinguished
:19:50. > :19:52.history. They don't want that on the CV. And finally, Mark Clattenburg,
:19:53. > :19:55.one of the most outstanding and high profile referees of our generation
:19:56. > :20:00.is in charge today of his last Premier League game. He has all the
:20:01. > :20:04.big matches and the tattoos to prove what he has done, by the way. One
:20:05. > :20:10.thing is for sure, he is going to Saudi Arabia and he will not need a
:20:11. > :20:14.sheepskin coat there! Thank you very much, Motty! Always gives you
:20:15. > :20:18.insight. After the late winner of the Foxes it is a north London derby
:20:19. > :20:20.tomorrow for Arsenal against Spurs team who left it late themselves
:20:21. > :20:33.midweek away at Palace. COMMENTATOR: Against Spurs
:20:34. > :20:43.absolutely must win. -- a game which Spurs absolutely must win.
:20:44. > :20:48.Benteke... Real chance. Wanyama. That was serious enough to stop play
:20:49. > :20:52.and show the yellow card. That was late from Wanyama, who already has a
:20:53. > :21:01.yellow card, and I think he is on a final warning. Walker's Faurlin,
:21:02. > :21:11.Dele Alli, oh! How to did not going?!
:21:12. > :21:22.It is! Christian Eriksen! Absolutely brilliant goal, out of the blue. It
:21:23. > :21:28.keeps them in the title race. Mauricio Pocchettino seems deep in
:21:29. > :21:32.thought. Important header from Joel Ward because Alderwiereld was
:21:33. > :21:37.waiting. Here he is again, a whisker wide, and Jonathan Moss blows his
:21:38. > :21:38.whistle, a huge three points for Pocchetino, Crystal Palace 0- one
:21:39. > :21:45.Tottenham Hotspur. Let's have a look at the table going
:21:46. > :21:49.into the North London derby tomorrow. Looks like Spurs could
:21:50. > :21:53.finish above Arsenal for the first time in 22 years. On this amazing
:21:54. > :21:58.run as well, eight straight wins, one defeat in 18, from an Arsenal
:21:59. > :22:02.point of view that gives you a great opportunity to derail Tottenham.
:22:03. > :22:06.Absolutely. That will probably be on the mind of the supporters, they
:22:07. > :22:19.will want that, but hats off to Spurs, the run they are on and the
:22:20. > :22:21.places they are going to get those results, that midweek result at
:22:22. > :22:24.Crystal Palace, not many teams can roll up there and win that 1-0.
:22:25. > :22:26.Christian Eriksen crucial again. The stats are incredible, he has been
:22:27. > :22:32.involved in either scoring resisting 16 goals in 12 appearances. The one
:22:33. > :22:36.on Wednesday, so important. It was. When his team need someone to stand
:22:37. > :22:40.up and scored the crucial goal he stepped up and was fantastic. He has
:22:41. > :22:45.been all season and deserves to be linked with top teams coming after
:22:46. > :22:48.him, shall we say. I am sure Spurs fans are concerned about that. You
:22:49. > :22:57.can see how good they have been in so many different departments. They
:22:58. > :22:59.take on an Arsenal side, we talked last week about this change of
:23:00. > :23:02.system, playing three at the back for the first time in a long time,
:23:03. > :23:06.this is the team we will show you they started with against Leicester.
:23:07. > :23:12.What is that tactical change giving us an Wenger that maybe he is
:23:13. > :23:15.looking for? I think at the moment, personally I feel the change is
:23:16. > :23:20.driven by defensive insecurity from him. You cannot pick out a standout
:23:21. > :23:25.centre-half partnership going on there, and also in front of those
:23:26. > :23:32.two centre-backs in the semifinal at the weekend, we had Ramsay and Xhaka
:23:33. > :23:36.who defensively don't give you too much cover. The full-backs like to
:23:37. > :23:41.go forward. That formation for Wenger is the safest formation for
:23:42. > :23:44.Arsenal to win with. I think where they have been struggling recently
:23:45. > :23:48.is through the middle, teams haven't dominated the man scored coming down
:23:49. > :23:53.the wings, they have come through the middle. Getting the extra body
:23:54. > :23:58.in their gives them more security and more cover defensively. We have
:23:59. > :24:03.to talk about the slowed shoulder/ base incident of Alexis Sanchez. We
:24:04. > :24:10.will see it again. What is your take on it, would you be embarrassed with
:24:11. > :24:14.that? More than a bit! I don't know whether it is worth diving here or
:24:15. > :24:19.whether it is worth to show you have cut your lip a little bit. I am not
:24:20. > :24:23.sure that cut came from that incident. Coming together with
:24:24. > :24:26.Robert Huth earlier in the game is probably where he got a knock in the
:24:27. > :24:30.face. If your kids did that on the Sunday morning in a football team
:24:31. > :24:43.you would be embarrassed as a parent and telling them to get on with it.
:24:44. > :24:47.The ball has hit him in the shoulder so to go down and lie on the floor,
:24:48. > :24:49.you start to cringe a little. He tried to cover himself with the
:24:50. > :24:52.picture after the game. This is the cut lip and the ice pack, which
:24:53. > :24:55.brought a beautiful response from Robert Huth later in the week. As
:24:56. > :24:57.many have said if there was a PFA social media team, who should be
:24:58. > :25:00.captain? There he is with a particularly nasty finger injury
:25:01. > :25:03.which he managed to come through. It was the last north London derby at
:25:04. > :25:07.White Hart Lane because Spurs have announced they would play all their
:25:08. > :25:12.home games at Wembley next season. Chelsea still have the 7-point lead
:25:13. > :25:13.on Tottenham thanks to the return to form of Diego Costa. On Tuesday
:25:14. > :25:24.night against Southampton. COMMENTATOR: Victory put Chelsea
:25:25. > :25:29.tonight will reopen the lead over Spurs to seven points. Defeat will
:25:30. > :25:36.be the door for Tottenham. Goes back to Eden Hazard, 1-0 Chelsea. The
:25:37. > :25:57.league leaders are ahead. It's in, it is 1-1. Incomes K Hill. Chelsea's
:25:58. > :26:03.leaders restored right on half-time. Good ball in. Diego Costa's goal
:26:04. > :26:11.down comes in. The biggest cheer of the night is for John Terry. Costa,
:26:12. > :26:16.Pedro, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
:26:17. > :26:28.What a way to seal a superb performance. This was magnificent.
:26:29. > :26:31.Simao! LAUGHTER. Crossing, Bertrand rises, and Southampton have
:26:32. > :26:36.consolation back. Really important night, Chelsea have the victory for-
:26:37. > :26:41.two. As you can see, we have moved over
:26:42. > :26:44.to the touch-screen to talk a little about the strikers we saw,
:26:45. > :26:48.particularly Diego Costa, who is third in the top scorers in the
:26:49. > :26:53.Premier League at the moment. Five behind Lukaku. We saw a dip in form
:26:54. > :26:57.around January with rumours of a possible move to China, but he was
:26:58. > :27:03.back to his almost unplayable best midweek. He was. He did
:27:04. > :27:09.fantastically well. What we see the other night was he played right up
:27:10. > :27:12.against the back four of Southampton, started bringing his
:27:13. > :27:17.teams into play, but the most impressive part was his linkup play
:27:18. > :27:20.with Eden Hazard. You see here, not looking, look -- knows instinctively
:27:21. > :27:27.where he is. That happened all night. Eden Hazard and Diego Costa,
:27:28. > :27:32.great distance apart, Diego Costa goes in, fantastic run, and Eden
:27:33. > :27:37.Hazard's determination to go after him, follows him in, got away from
:27:38. > :27:41.him, realises he needs help, they are always looking for each other
:27:42. > :27:45.and it is instinctive play, a fantastic finish, and you see on
:27:46. > :27:49.this angle, looking for where he is, trying to find his mate and the
:27:50. > :27:54.linkup play was fantastic. And Diego Costa can be a brute when he needs
:27:55. > :27:58.to be. You cannot underestimate how important that asset is in a
:27:59. > :28:02.championship winning team. His play is aggressive and positive which is
:28:03. > :28:07.outlined here. There is that intricacy when required as well.
:28:08. > :28:12.There is. He showed another part to his game, again linking up with Eden
:28:13. > :28:16.Hazard and Pedro on this occasion. When you have Diego Costa playing
:28:17. > :28:20.with such confidence, what a fantastic player to have. The great
:28:21. > :28:24.gold. Not much as a defence you can do about that, or Lukaku either when
:28:25. > :28:29.he is in top form although against West Ham last week James Collins
:28:30. > :28:32.managed to nullify him quite well. One thing Ronald Koeman has asked of
:28:33. > :28:36.Lukaku this season is to work harder, and you can see the stats
:28:37. > :28:41.back that up, he is putting a shift in. He is, he is working harder than
:28:42. > :28:46.last year, 400 metres game is quite a raise in someone's game we will
:28:47. > :28:54.see it in some of these clips, show it right here. His recent goals. He
:28:55. > :28:57.likes to play on the shoulder of defenders and make them runs in
:28:58. > :29:01.behind, and that's where the raising and workrate is coming from, he is
:29:02. > :29:05.making more runs for his team-mates, and when you have quality team-mates
:29:06. > :29:10.alongside you, they know where he will be. When it goes through on
:29:11. > :29:14.goal, like we see, I think he is the best, he doesn't miss a chance.
:29:15. > :29:16.Defending against someone like that, do you need tag team action? When he
:29:17. > :29:31.is like that you cannot deal with him on
:29:32. > :29:33.your own. You almost need to overcompensate because when he is on
:29:34. > :29:36.your shoulder he is that big and powerful that if he gets the half
:29:37. > :29:38.you're the wrong side you can't really back him so you need to
:29:39. > :29:41.overcompensate and be safe with your decision making and positioning to
:29:42. > :29:43.stop him. We spoke about Everton at home, you mentioned a lot this
:29:44. > :29:46.season how well they play, but they take on Chelsea this weekend at
:29:47. > :29:49.Goodison, and you could argue if you look at their remaining fixtures,
:29:50. > :29:51.the team in best position to win the title this season, this weekend will
:29:52. > :29:55.be crucial because this is by far the hardest game left. It is, it is
:29:56. > :30:00.Chelsea's biggest test to go to Goodison where Edison -- Everton
:30:01. > :30:04.have won eight in a row on their home turf, playing great football
:30:05. > :30:09.and arguably could certainly win the game. Look at the rest of Chelsea's
:30:10. > :30:12.games, and I don't see many other points being taken off them in that
:30:13. > :30:17.run, so it is what you would say is a final big test for Chelsea. It
:30:18. > :30:22.will be fascinating. Whistle Southampton lose that Chelsea in the
:30:23. > :30:23.week. Let's hear from the England midfielder who joins us in the
:30:24. > :30:38.studio. I am James Ward-Prowse and I played
:30:39. > :30:46.centre midfield. Short-term is to get a scholarship here. Long-term is
:30:47. > :30:49.to reach the England squad. Germany against England, James Ward-Prowse
:30:50. > :30:55.making his international debut. He will remember this for the rest of
:30:56. > :30:59.his life. It is unbelievable, something every young player wants
:31:00. > :31:02.to achieve. To get that feeling was great. But I left the trip feeling
:31:03. > :31:07.frustrated that it didn't last longer. To come on and make England
:31:08. > :31:13.debut is great but I wanted to play more and have the game last longer,
:31:14. > :31:20.hopefully I can be back on the state soon. Do you feel Gareth Southgate
:31:21. > :31:24.being manager has a better impact on you? Gray I think so. But I'm not
:31:25. > :31:31.going to get into the England squad just for that reason. I need to
:31:32. > :31:33.perform on a weekly basis for the club and warrant my call-up and that
:31:34. > :31:39.is what I have been working on ever since I can remember. Another name
:31:40. > :31:46.to watch, 17-year-old James Ward-Prowse in his first league
:31:47. > :31:49.appearance. What brings out the best in the players? They have an example
:31:50. > :31:53.of a player in the first team who has been good enough to give them
:31:54. > :31:57.their chance. Growing up, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was a big one for
:31:58. > :32:03.me, I shed a train journey into training with him. Listening to what
:32:04. > :32:06.he said about the first team, he was an example, Luke Shaw and Calum
:32:07. > :32:11.Chambers as well. If you were good enough, you would get the
:32:12. > :32:13.opportunity. For them to put their faith in youngsters is a great
:32:14. > :32:21.incentive for young players coming through. A chance and a goal and put
:32:22. > :32:26.away by James Ward-Prowse. Things have gone pretty well this season?
:32:27. > :32:30.Yes. I think so, if we look back at the start of the season, the targets
:32:31. > :32:35.I had was to get in and around the England squad. Add a few goals and
:32:36. > :32:41.assists to my name and I have done that. There is a bit more of the
:32:42. > :32:46.season left to try and improve on those stats. Always change at
:32:47. > :32:52.Southampton. Claude Puel came in this season, what impact has he had?
:32:53. > :32:56.A positive one. It was a big challenge for him to take on with
:32:57. > :33:02.the Europa League campaign but he came in and stated his ethos early
:33:03. > :33:05.on. The lads bought into that. We have been playing every three days
:33:06. > :33:13.this season which has been difficult mentally and physically but everyone
:33:14. > :33:19.has been at a good stage. It was recently said that you are the ideal
:33:20. > :33:25.son-in-law, tell us what he means by that? I am not actually sure. I was
:33:26. > :33:32.a bit confused myself. I want to be the ideal player, not the son-in-law
:33:33. > :33:37.but whatever he says goes I suppose. Wise words. Rachel Stringer asking
:33:38. > :33:41.the question there. This is the Southampton under 13 side that won
:33:42. > :33:49.the Dallas cup in 2008. Here is James with the trophy, any ideas?
:33:50. > :33:52.I'm guessing Luke Shaw. A wonderful haircut. Calum Chambers at the back
:33:53. > :33:59.and Harrison Reed who has recently come through as well. It is amazing,
:34:00. > :34:04.you see this picture and here is a young man, only 22 years old and has
:34:05. > :34:09.had five good seasons in the Premier League. So much experience at a
:34:10. > :34:13.young age. It is an example of what Southampton have done extreme you
:34:14. > :34:17.well in recent seasons. He has been brought into the team so gradually
:34:18. > :34:22.and introduced in a healthy manner for a young player. Not huge
:34:23. > :34:27.responsibility but enough games and much time to develop into a top
:34:28. > :34:31.player. Interesting what he said about having a player to look up to,
:34:32. > :34:35.he got the train with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain which had a big
:34:36. > :34:39.influence. I am sure you have your own stories of players who you
:34:40. > :34:44.wanted to be like and to learn from? Many players in and around the first
:34:45. > :34:52.team that do that. The person who helped me was David Unsworth. Just
:34:53. > :34:56.as I was getting around the team, he had been there before and he took it
:34:57. > :35:02.upon himself to help me make that transition. I am thankful for that.
:35:03. > :35:08.He took a decent penalty. I was blessed with a lot of really good
:35:09. > :35:12.senior players at Arsenal, Tony Adams, Martin Keown, Lee Dickson.
:35:13. > :35:16.Players like that who give you an insight, not just to the
:35:17. > :35:22.technicality but coping with it and having a career in football and
:35:23. > :35:27.giving that guidance. Under the wing of Martin Keown, can't imagine
:35:28. > :35:31.anything better. Hull are just above the bottom three with a 2-point
:35:32. > :35:39.cushion on Swansea at the moment. Importantly, they have a player back
:35:40. > :35:44.after a rescinded red card. It is safe to say that he was surprised by
:35:45. > :35:50.it at that time. You will see his reaction in a moment. Surprise that
:35:51. > :35:57.he might get a yellow card and absolute disbelief that he gets the
:35:58. > :36:00.red card. It wasn't a red card and could really have affected Hull on
:36:01. > :36:06.the day but they didn't let it. And he will be available for this next
:36:07. > :36:11.game. They came back to win impressively. 1-ball, if you talk
:36:12. > :36:13.about recruitment, Marco Silva has brought in a lot of players, and
:36:14. > :36:19.they scored a wonderful counterattacking goal, a style
:36:20. > :36:25.thing, how they want to play. A definite feature of their play at
:36:26. > :36:29.the moment. As you can see, the free kick on the edge of the 18-yard box
:36:30. > :36:35.and the energy and the decisiveness to run forward with the ball, it is
:36:36. > :36:40.a great run into the box. And the ball is fabulous. I can't explain
:36:41. > :36:45.how difficult that is with the bouncing ball to guide that header.
:36:46. > :36:53.Very difficult, a great decision to head the ball, many would have
:36:54. > :36:58.tested it. -- chested. They know they are up against it and they had
:36:59. > :37:02.five players around the box and that is fantastic. That win over Watford
:37:03. > :37:06.was more important after Swansea had dramatically beaten Stoke. Club
:37:07. > :37:15.captain Leon Britton was back in the side for the first time this year,
:37:16. > :37:19.he has been talking to Ivan Gaskell. From the outside looking in, it
:37:20. > :37:24.looked like you are Mr Swansea. I felt so much at home and the people
:37:25. > :37:29.in the city were so friendly. Coming from London it is very busy and
:37:30. > :37:32.people are in a rush but here you stand in a queue getting petrol and
:37:33. > :37:36.people take time to talk to you whether they knew football or not.
:37:37. > :37:39.The style changed under Roberto Martinez and we started to play a
:37:40. > :37:49.bit of all that started a lot better. -- played a bit of football.
:37:50. > :37:55.Going back to 2003, fighting for your life in the Football League. We
:37:56. > :37:59.have come a long way. You mentioned 2003, ironically we were playing
:38:00. > :38:04.Hull in the last game of the season to stay in the Football League. We
:38:05. > :38:09.are now in our sixth season in the Premier League and how won the
:38:10. > :38:12.League Cup. We didn't have the training ground back then, we took
:38:13. > :38:17.our kit home to wash. Now you see the facilities we have got. It
:38:18. > :38:23.really is a fantastic journey and a privilege to be part of. How does it
:38:24. > :38:27.compare, survival in the Premier League to surviving to stay in the
:38:28. > :38:31.whole football league? Back then you were looking at players having to
:38:32. > :38:35.pay their mortgages and worried about that side of things. In the
:38:36. > :38:39.Premier League it is a lot different but whether you are in League 2 or
:38:40. > :38:44.the Premier League, you need the same qualities in a relegation
:38:45. > :38:49.battle. We have seen what you bring on the pitch, what do you bring off
:38:50. > :38:52.the pitch? The macro over the years we have been lucky, a few of us have
:38:53. > :39:00.come through the divisions, like myself. Daria mon, Rangelova, Ashley
:39:01. > :39:06.Williams. We kind of reminded them of the standard we set and how
:39:07. > :39:13.things are done. I heard talk of a DVD being passed around, the story
:39:14. > :39:18.of the club. I gave the DVD out on the Friday before Stoke. Purely for
:39:19. > :39:21.the fact that the players come here and maybe don't understand the
:39:22. > :39:27.history of the club. Just that if you get a spare hour, just have a
:39:28. > :39:33.look and see how much it means to the people of Swansea and how much
:39:34. > :39:36.hard work has gone into getting us where we are. I know from the
:39:37. > :39:41.outside, when teams are not doing well, the accusation is they don't
:39:42. > :39:44.care. I can tell you now, the players do care and you see it every
:39:45. > :39:50.day in training. Everyone is pushing each other and after a defeat,
:39:51. > :39:56.everyone is disappointed and looking to the next game to put it right.
:39:57. > :40:02.The home supporters stand as one to cheer off Leon Britton. You've not
:40:03. > :40:07.been in the team very much since December, how have you taken that? A
:40:08. > :40:12.standing ovation coming back at the weekend? It is frustrating. The
:40:13. > :40:17.manager has a difficult job to pick his 11 from 25 players. Try to be
:40:18. > :40:23.ready when the manager calls upon you whether it be the bench or to
:40:24. > :40:27.start and take your chance. Four games to sort yourselves out, what
:40:28. > :40:33.is your gut feeling? My gut feeling is we can do it. It starts on Sunday
:40:34. > :40:36.with a difficult place, Old Trafford and Manchester United but if we keep
:40:37. > :40:44.the level of performance art, we can get the points we need. He has a
:40:45. > :40:48.stalwart, 15 years at the club, their last four games, they have a
:40:49. > :40:53.decent record, winning two of their last four at Old Trafford. Handing
:40:54. > :40:58.out the DVD making the other players understand, it can make a difference
:40:59. > :41:00.at this stage the season? It can, what a fantastic thing to have
:41:01. > :41:05.someone who knows the history of the club and played in that defining
:41:06. > :41:09.game all those years back to keep them in the league. Now he can
:41:10. > :41:14.remind the players around him how important it is to keep Swansea in
:41:15. > :41:18.the Premier League. If they have a sniff of staying up, they are in a
:41:19. > :41:22.good position after winning last week, we know Middlesbrough are in
:41:23. > :41:26.real trouble on 27 points and Sunderland could be relegated this
:41:27. > :41:30.weekend after losing in the week. It has really been one of those seasons
:41:31. > :41:36.when nothing has clicked for Sunderland at any stage. They have
:41:37. > :41:40.lacked consistency. This type of goal and the simplicity of it and
:41:41. > :41:44.how easy it was with the long straight ball has been a common
:41:45. > :41:48.theme in their season. They have not defended anywhere near well enough.
:41:49. > :41:53.When you look at their goal difference, it is a huge reason they
:41:54. > :41:55.are in the position they are in. Burnley come at the same way we
:41:56. > :42:00.talked about Leicester, probably need a win and a few points to be
:42:01. > :42:03.safe and they will have to do it without Joey Barton who has been
:42:04. > :42:07.given an 18 month ban after the gambling which came to light in
:42:08. > :42:13.recent months and came through this week. Some people are saying it is
:42:14. > :42:16.really hard, he is taking a level of responsibility. -- 18 months. It
:42:17. > :42:22.highlights the problem of gambling in the game. It does, the amount of
:42:23. > :42:26.advertising and of gambling around the league is incredible. For
:42:27. > :42:32.someone who does have a documented problem with gambling, it doesn't
:42:33. > :42:36.help. I felt the gabbling companies, with him being gabbing for ten years
:42:37. > :42:40.could have come out and blocked his account. I gambled once I finished
:42:41. > :42:44.and they phoned me and blocked my account within six weeks because
:42:45. > :42:48.they knew I had been a footballer. I had to show I wasn't playing with a
:42:49. > :42:52.club at the moment and they let me bet on the three o'clock game that
:42:53. > :42:56.they thankfully. No one-stop Joey Barton over a 10-year period, that
:42:57. > :43:02.is something you have to question. That is basically the end of his
:43:03. > :43:06.career. To be realistic, that is a good assumption. I feel sorry he has
:43:07. > :43:10.done himself well to get back into the Premier League club at the
:43:11. > :43:14.moment but it is good that he is taking full ownership of what he has
:43:15. > :43:18.done. He is not shirking from the fact that we know we can't gamble on
:43:19. > :43:25.football matches. It is something he has to take on the chin. It is not
:43:26. > :43:29.defendable as such, the Wolves are in place but surely there should be
:43:30. > :43:33.measures to help him come to terms with that. An increasing problem and
:43:34. > :43:38.something we should talk about a bit more. Leon Britton came through the
:43:39. > :43:42.West Ham academy, he has crossed paths with this man as well, Mark
:43:43. > :43:55.Noble. Britain left without making an appearance for West Ham and Mark
:43:56. > :44:02.Noble has hit 400. COMMENTATOR: Noble, wonderful goal. The
:44:03. > :44:09.19-year-old puts West Ham in front. Mark Noble places for hundredth game
:44:10. > :44:14.for the club. You are a dying breed really. What you have done doesn't
:44:15. > :44:21.really happen any more. It is unlikely. I really think it is going
:44:22. > :44:30.to happen a lot less. Because of the money involved in football. I want a
:44:31. > :44:39.name from you, one player, the outstanding player in all your time
:44:40. > :44:44.at the club. Careful. I'm going to upset a lot of people. May be your
:44:45. > :44:50.hesitation suggest there have been a few. They have. When I was coming
:44:51. > :44:54.through at the age of 16 or 17, I played with Teddy Sheringham and it
:44:55. > :44:59.was an unbelievable learning curve. I really learned a lot from him. The
:45:00. > :45:05.way to be a professional really. I is like Carlos Tevez, that I gelled
:45:06. > :45:11.with well on the pitch. Yossi Benayoun. He was a fantastic player.
:45:12. > :45:16.Probably gets booed around the East End are saying this but Dimitri was
:45:17. > :45:22.fantastic, he was a top, top player. Lucky to play with so many good
:45:23. > :45:29.players. I could sit all day and tell you loads. Why haven't you been
:45:30. > :45:33.able to take on this season after that success last time out?
:45:34. > :45:41.The stuff that has gone on and off the pitch, the massive move to the
:45:42. > :45:46.new stadium. We put ourselves under pressure last season. Do you think
:45:47. > :45:50.you overachieve? I wouldn't say so because I wouldn't say seventh
:45:51. > :45:55.overachievement. Lester was an overachievement. They created
:45:56. > :46:01.history. But we are competing, really, from seven, in my eyes,
:46:02. > :46:06.7th-10th and we need to be in position as a club. Once you get
:46:07. > :46:12.into those positions and stay there, you have the real backbone to grow
:46:13. > :46:17.as a football club and try your hardest to get into the top four
:46:18. > :46:22.places. How disruptive is the constant speculation about the
:46:23. > :46:28.managers? It is only the second season. Last season he probably
:46:29. > :46:32.couldn't believe what was going on, we all couldn't, it just clicked,
:46:33. > :46:37.but this season has been tough for him. I can assure you it will make
:46:38. > :46:39.you a better manager, though. He hasn't let it get to him. He hasn't
:46:40. > :46:53.shown into the players, and I stronger person for it. And the
:46:54. > :46:58.Dimitri Payet saga, was that painful? I know because I am so
:46:59. > :47:03.close to him how the West Ham players felt about him. I am pretty
:47:04. > :47:08.sure 50% of the male fans loved him more than their wives at some point!
:47:09. > :47:13.LAUGHTER I am sure they would tell you that as well. It's like if your
:47:14. > :47:20.wife walked out on you. You'd be devastated. A lot of people would be
:47:21. > :47:28.devastated and that's I think how they felt. Are you proud of
:47:29. > :47:31.yourself, 400 appearances is an incredible achievement, especially
:47:32. > :47:37.for your club. To be able to play 400 games for this club, sometimes
:47:38. > :47:41.you take it for granted because you are involved every day but for my
:47:42. > :47:47.family it is pretty incredible. Well done, he is to a few more.
:47:48. > :47:51.Hopefully, thank you. Good man. He makes a number of good points
:47:52. > :47:55.there, and I suppose he is right about that sort of player spending
:47:56. > :47:59.an entire career at one club. We will not see much of that going
:48:00. > :48:14.forward. You don't see it very often, to be honest. It is not easy
:48:15. > :48:18.to do. You need a real driving force behind West Ham at the moment
:48:19. > :48:22.driving forward. Interesting comments on Dimitri Payet as well as
:48:23. > :48:26.men in their wives, not sure how true that is! Another thing he said
:48:27. > :48:31.is about where West Ham are realistically aiming at, that spot
:48:32. > :48:36.between eighth and tenth and he is right on that as well. Definitely.
:48:37. > :48:40.It is a spot they could achieve, and the size of the club, it has the
:48:41. > :48:44.stature and capability to maintain that, but at the moment they are
:48:45. > :48:47.probably falling short of that with their performances, I am not sure if
:48:48. > :48:50.they had a great summer transfer window at the start of this season
:48:51. > :48:52.and I think that is something they will be looking to address and get
:48:53. > :49:14.right for the new season. Leicester's success probably hasn't
:49:15. > :49:16.helped the fans expectations everywhere. West Ham were raided by
:49:17. > :49:18.tax inspector this week investigating transfers between the
:49:19. > :49:21.club and France, as were Newcastle United's offices. Clem joins us from
:49:22. > :49:23.the BBC Sport Centre. I am sure that news has taken shine of celebrations
:49:24. > :49:25.in the north-east. I was wondering if the taxman was a Sunderland
:49:26. > :49:28.supporter because 36 hours at a promotion back to the Premier League
:49:29. > :49:30.and Rafa Benitez said, I love working at Newcastle because there
:49:31. > :49:34.are no backroom distractions, business as usual for Newcastle last
:49:35. > :49:40.night, one at Cardiff, new club record, and they only achieve that
:49:41. > :49:43.figure over the last four seasons in comparison. It won't stop writing
:49:44. > :49:47.winning the title later today if they beat Bristol in the 5:30pm
:49:48. > :49:51.kick-off. Looking at everything else that could happen in the
:49:52. > :50:00.Championship, the play-offs could be sewn up, Huddersfield have their
:50:01. > :50:04.play-offs place. Full need to better their position, Leeds at home to
:50:05. > :50:08.Norwich, four points from the last 18, that's why they are out of
:50:09. > :50:13.contention, and at the bottom rather long gone, Wigan will go unless they
:50:14. > :50:18.can win at Reading today, they are six points adrift with only two
:50:19. > :50:23.games left, and Blackburn could go as well, unbelievable 94-95 Premier
:50:24. > :50:27.League winners, but they need to beat Aston Villa because if they
:50:28. > :50:35.don't Birmingham when, they will be in the third tier the first time
:50:36. > :50:40.since 1980. Briefly, where should we be looking at today? League 1
:50:41. > :50:43.switches to tomorrow and finishes a week early, Bolton looking for the
:50:44. > :50:49.last automatic place there, Port Vale sadly the last relegation
:50:50. > :50:53.play-off place. The big news in League 2 could be Hartlepool going
:50:54. > :50:58.out of the Football League for the first time having been in the league
:50:59. > :51:01.for 96 years. They have to win at Cheltenham and hope resurgent
:51:02. > :51:06.Newport slip-up. Lay-off actions as well, Leupolz -- Luton could book
:51:07. > :51:10.their place and a cluster between fifth and 12th, eight teams
:51:11. > :51:13.separated by five points. We will keep you up-to-date with the
:51:14. > :51:16.Football League action on Final Score this afternoon with Jason
:51:17. > :51:21.Mohammad and Jason Roberts, worth tuning in to see what colour Garth
:51:22. > :51:26.Crooks's tank top is, always a favourite pursuit of mine! I might
:51:27. > :51:34.get an early look of that, thank you, busy for Clem as he said. Garth
:51:35. > :51:51.and his tank top in the studio for Final Score. A bumper four game
:51:52. > :51:54.Match of the Day two tomorrow. This week the Manchester clubs met at the
:51:55. > :52:00.Eddie had in a rare Thursday night bonanza. -- at the Etihad Stadium.
:52:01. > :52:03.It is the small matter of the Manchester derby, give us your
:52:04. > :52:08.thoughts. I couldn't bear thinking about losing to United. Playing in
:52:09. > :52:14.the Europa League next season would be fantastic. We have to beat them,
:52:15. > :52:19.end of. It has been a mixed season, a lot of it people expected
:52:20. > :52:23.Guardiola to do better, we can't get away from the fact that city should
:52:24. > :52:25.have been title challengers and haven't been but a lot of
:52:26. > :52:31.foundations have been put in place, you can see where he is trying to
:52:32. > :52:34.take the club. It was supposed to be quite Viola versus Mourinho, five
:52:35. > :52:39.games from the end of the season, should be a title decider but is
:52:40. > :52:44.only a fourth place play-off. Most fans including myself are happy with
:52:45. > :52:48.him, he is toughening players up, demanding high expectations, and I
:52:49. > :52:53.think given time next year especially, we will see a lot from
:52:54. > :52:56.him. This is a derby. To get a foothold in the race for the
:52:57. > :53:00.Champions League Mourinho will try to stifle city's creativity so I
:53:01. > :53:04.think it could be tight whatever happens. We will not think about the
:53:05. > :53:15.impact on the season, it is just 90 minutes of
:53:16. > :53:19.football you want to win, you don't want to lose a derby. When these two
:53:20. > :53:23.meet at this late stage in the season there is more at stake than
:53:24. > :53:25.just a derby. It might be one or the other in next season's Champions
:53:26. > :53:27.League. Zabaleta tries to keep it. Good ball into Aguero. Sumptuous
:53:28. > :53:32.cross from De Bruyne. Looked just rightful Aguero. Hit the outside of
:53:33. > :53:37.the post. Anthony Marshall. Vincent Kompany couldn't stop that run.
:53:38. > :53:46.Bravo, nearly pulled its straight to Herrera. Good save from the Qatari,
:53:47. > :53:55.but mightily lucky. Aguero, good try, really well held by David De
:53:56. > :54:01.Gea. Rashford, coming in is Herrera, what an opportunity for the
:54:02. > :54:02.Spaniard. Fellaini was too much for Aguero and that will be the first
:54:03. > :54:15.yellow card of the night. There is another foul. Fellaini
:54:16. > :54:20.again. Just seconds after being booked, and now Aguero down and it
:54:21. > :54:25.is a red card for Marouane Fellaini. What on earth went on in his head
:54:26. > :54:32.there? That is writing credible. Aguero Kante position from which to
:54:33. > :54:37.shoot but he plays it in! The flag is up. It is the right decision, it
:54:38. > :54:41.is a huge one. Manchester United are happy enough with a point,
:54:42. > :54:46.especially the way things went on. Goalless that the Etihad. I know how
:54:47. > :54:53.difficult it is to play Manchester United. The defences in our hands so
:54:54. > :54:59.it is a big point but every it doesn't matter, West Brom, every
:55:00. > :55:06.game will be difficult. The only thing I know is that we have to play
:55:07. > :55:10.for almost 15 minutes with a tired team, and that was difficult for us,
:55:11. > :55:14.but we got the best out of the character of the players to give
:55:15. > :55:18.everything and keep the point. That can be an important thing in the
:55:19. > :55:23.game. It didn't quite deliver on goals but
:55:24. > :55:26.plenty of talking points. I know you know Fellaini well, so let's get to
:55:27. > :55:33.the bottom of what was going through his head with the red card. I think
:55:34. > :55:37.he has been terrific for the last few games, but he is prone to a
:55:38. > :55:41.moment of madness. He took the booking and it was a good booking to
:55:42. > :55:46.take for the team but you can't make another foul straightaway. Literally
:55:47. > :55:51.leaving that for your team-mates, but he does. Again he saw the red
:55:52. > :55:56.mist. I will say, there is a coming together, but you see, in my
:55:57. > :55:59.opinion, Aguero is just as aggressive as Fellaini. The only
:56:00. > :56:04.problem is Fellaini lowers his head touch. As Aguero comes through, the
:56:05. > :56:08.same aggression, the same determination for heads to meet and
:56:09. > :56:12.he throws himself on the floor. I think is -- that is the key point,
:56:13. > :56:19.if Fellaini goes down similarly who had but it do? I call that squaring
:56:20. > :56:23.up. Aguero has conned everyone in a manner of speaking. Mini Mourinho
:56:24. > :56:27.over there! In terms of the race for Europe let's look at the top the
:56:28. > :56:31.table, I made up rubbish saying Chelsea were seven points clear and
:56:32. > :56:35.probably terrified Spurs fans. They are four clearer Spurs but two sides
:56:36. > :56:39.to join those two in the top four, where do you think it will go?
:56:40. > :56:43.Personally I feel United, with the destruction of Europa League, have a
:56:44. > :56:49.good avenue into the Champions League. They will miss out on the
:56:50. > :56:54.top four and I feel City and Liverpool will see at home. I agree,
:56:55. > :56:58.United have the cup competition to distract them and that would be too
:56:59. > :57:02.much for them. Quick word on Liverpool, Steven Gerrard now
:57:03. > :57:05.involved with the under 18 's, shrewd move, isn't it? It is, to get
:57:06. > :57:10.him back involved in the game is fantastic and you wish all the best.
:57:11. > :57:13.Gentlemen, thank you. That is it from us, we will be back at midday
:57:14. > :57:20.for your next week. At the start of the show we promised we would you
:57:21. > :57:28.which manager, superintendent from elite Max Hastings from Line Of Duty
:57:29. > :57:29.is based on. It is Dunbar. Who is balaclava man? From all of us,
:57:30. > :57:42.thanks for watching. Goodbye. My officers conduct themselves to
:57:43. > :57:47.the letter of the law. So you didn't have a corrupt officer in your
:57:48. > :57:53.department for two years? No one regrets more than me not seeing
:57:54. > :58:01.through the deception. I am an Arsenal supporter and have been
:58:02. > :58:04.since the Dublin 1971. He scores! The Irish connection with Arsenal
:58:05. > :58:12.was strong through that period. Chippy Brady was a big hero of mine.
:58:13. > :58:17.I a lot of managers come out of Gauvin. They have great management
:58:18. > :58:26.skills! Hastings had to have money management skills. I kind of mind
:58:27. > :58:31.him from that as I am from that part of the world myself. The great
:58:32. > :58:36.survivor of the Premier League era. No doubt about it, the club needs a
:58:37. > :58:41.new broom, as it were, but it is up to Wenger to decide when he will go.
:58:42. > :58:49.It will be nice to see... We won the FA Cup, if he would leave after
:58:50. > :58:53.that. Spurs at home to Arsenal, you would expect Spurs to win being the
:58:54. > :58:57.best team in England at the moment probably, at least the one going the
:58:58. > :59:01.best. I would be happy with the draw but you have to fancy Spurs because
:59:02. > :59:04.the home advantage. I will be happy if we come away with a draw. We have
:59:05. > :59:11.Sanchez and I hope it will be 2-2. where my guests will be
:59:12. > :59:15.the fantastic Michael Ball...
