:00:41. > :00:48.We are live at Wembley for the first of this season's FA Cup-semi finals

:00:49. > :00:56.We should tell you there is quite a sombre tone this afternoon here at

:00:57. > :01:03.the National Stadium following the sad news of the death of Ugo Ehiogu

:01:04. > :01:07.yesterday at the age of just 44. The U23 coach at Spurs passed away after

:01:08. > :01:12.suffering cardiac arrest at the club's training ground on Thursday.

:01:13. > :01:16.Luca Toni what a great player he was and what he won but more importantly

:01:17. > :01:23.he was kind, friendly, he was a thoroughly good man. -- we could

:01:24. > :01:29.tell you what a great player. At 44, it puts the tragedy in perspective.

:01:30. > :01:33.He would stand up in the dressing room and say his piece, he was a

:01:34. > :01:37.strong character. Born in the east of London ego Ehiogu began his

:01:38. > :01:41.football career at West Bromwich Albion but a move to Aston Villa

:01:42. > :01:48.under Ron Atkinson at the age of 19 ensured his name in football

:01:49. > :01:53.folklore. He was the big man, an imposing centre-half who helped

:01:54. > :01:57.Villa to two the cup triumphs and wore the England shirt four times.

:01:58. > :02:03.Mateta yellow Ugo Ehiogu scores for England. He liked a full-blooded

:02:04. > :02:09.challenge, he was an old-fashioned player, he would head it, kick it,

:02:10. > :02:15.tackle, Centre forwards didn't like playing against him. Fine tackle by

:02:16. > :02:19.Ehiogu. In training Ron used to get so frustrated we couldn't score but

:02:20. > :02:24.he didn't realise how good Ugo was and we try to explain to him, we are

:02:25. > :02:27.trying, he is just brilliant. It was at Middlesbrough where his

:02:28. > :02:31.partnership with the current England manager helped the club to the

:02:32. > :02:36.League Cup again, Ugo's third. We managed a bit of success and treated

:02:37. > :02:43.Middlesbrough fans to their first major trophy, a Uefa Cup run which

:02:44. > :02:47.got us to the final. He finished his career with spells at Leeds, Rangers

:02:48. > :02:51.and Sheffield United and after retiring moved into coaching with

:02:52. > :02:53.the youth teams at Spurs. He was a very good player and a

:02:54. > :03:05.very, very good human being. Martin Keown is alongside us outside

:03:06. > :03:10.Wembley this afternoon and so is the former Spurs captain Gary Mabbutt.

:03:11. > :03:14.Lovely to see you but terrible circumstances for not only Spurs but

:03:15. > :03:17.for Ugo's friends and family. He had a massive impact at the club and

:03:18. > :03:23.this has affected Tottenham this week. I'm sure as you can imagine

:03:24. > :03:26.there has been a sombre atmosphere around the Spurs camp at the moment.

:03:27. > :03:30.But the whole football world was shocked and saddened by the news

:03:31. > :03:36.over the last 48 Hours stop those who knew who go well, the thing is I

:03:37. > :03:40.was at the training ground with him a couple of weeks ago and we were

:03:41. > :03:44.laughing and joking and I was saying to him he was looking fitter and

:03:45. > :03:47.younger than he was when he was playing. It is difficult to

:03:48. > :03:52.comprehend what has happened. Martin, you played with him at

:03:53. > :03:58.England. What sort of person and player was he? He was a mount

:03:59. > :04:04.another man, strong. He was very assuming away from football. He

:04:05. > :04:08.would rock up alongside you, chat, he had strong views on football, he

:04:09. > :04:12.loved football, he had gone into the game as well and it is such a shame

:04:13. > :04:15.for Tottenham and it will have an effect on the players. They have

:04:16. > :04:19.really got to get on with the show today. Something similar happened at

:04:20. > :04:23.Arsenal when Geordie Armstrong, God rest his soul, it has a huge impact

:04:24. > :04:27.and the medical team will have worked to keep him alive and this

:04:28. > :04:31.tragic moment for the football club and the football family in general.

:04:32. > :04:34.There were lovely stories and memories of Ugo yesterday, Gareth

:04:35. > :04:38.Southgate played with him at Middlesbrough and Aston Villa, paid

:04:39. > :04:42.a lovely tribute and Danny Murphy said he crunched him in a challenge

:04:43. > :04:48.at Anfield and he said he went in to hurt him and leave a bit on him and

:04:49. > :04:52.said, come on, Danny, why are you so angry, it's only a game. That is why

:04:53. > :04:56.it is so important, after he stopped playing he had such an impact with

:04:57. > :05:00.young players at Spurs. Yes, absolutely. Most people remember Ugo

:05:01. > :05:03.for his performances with Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and for England

:05:04. > :05:07.as well but there won't know much about the fact that over the last

:05:08. > :05:10.few years he's been very instrumental in helping to put

:05:11. > :05:14.Tottenham where we are today. We have a fantastic academy at

:05:15. > :05:19.Tottenham and Ugo came in working with John McDermott, the academy

:05:20. > :05:21.director, and has been nurturing, mentoring, all of those youngsters,

:05:22. > :05:28.to get them through to first-team level. He has had a fantastic job

:05:29. > :05:32.which will make him difficult to replace. He has or was being humble,

:05:33. > :05:37.always a smile on his face, and for me he was a friend, he was a lovely

:05:38. > :05:41.family man, a gentleman of the game. Lovely words, Gary, thank you. We

:05:42. > :05:45.will see Gary Waite and Martin will be with us throughout. Our thoughts

:05:46. > :05:52.are very much with Ugo's friends and family at this no doubt difficult

:05:53. > :05:55.time. One of the players will wear black armbands for the semifinal

:05:56. > :05:59.today and they will be a minute's applause before the game. We will be

:06:00. > :06:02.live at Bournemouth later for Football Focus where one of his

:06:03. > :06:07.former sides Middlesbrough take on Eddie Howe's side. As well as that

:06:08. > :06:14.as well as reflections on Ugo egg yolk's life and career we have this

:06:15. > :06:21.on the show for you as well. -- Ugo Ehiogu. Cesc Fabregas is out to make

:06:22. > :06:26.dumb show he is still fabulous. What can I do? Ride? No, you just go out

:06:27. > :06:30.in training and give you all to improve. We have from Mousa Dembele

:06:31. > :06:35.with visions of glory. We're not going to hide it, we believe we can

:06:36. > :06:39.win, we can do something. I am sure everybody is excited and dreaming of

:06:40. > :06:45.winning the cup. The Seagulls are soaring, Glen

:06:46. > :06:50.visits Chris Hughton on cloud nine. And back on the ground, a chance to

:06:51. > :06:56.watch paint dry. Paul will -- all will be explained.

:06:57. > :06:59.All of that look forward to today. As we see some of the fans arriving

:07:00. > :07:05.already, it is nearly five hours before kick-off. Ten years since

:07:06. > :07:09.Wembley reopened and maybe one of those you can see now will be the

:07:10. > :07:10.20,000,000th visitor to come into the new stadium and they have quite

:07:11. > :07:56.a game to look forward to. COMMENTATOR: Harry Kane for

:07:57. > :08:02.Tottenham Hotspur, Son is in here, 2-0 Tottenham. It is Hazard! What a

:08:03. > :08:16.goal by Eden Hazard! Fantastic goal that may break Tottenham hearts.

:08:17. > :08:25.Wonderful strike by Christian Eriksen! Brilliant goal! Victor

:08:26. > :08:29.Moses. Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham. And in by Dele Alli! Alli with the header,

:08:30. > :08:42.2-0 to Tottenham. What a game to look forward to, a

:08:43. > :08:46.London derby, the two best teams in the country, we will look at it

:08:47. > :08:49.today with Martin and Ruud Gullit, also a cup winner with Chelsea 20

:08:50. > :08:55.years ago, player-manager. What do you remember about that day? It was

:08:56. > :09:01.a fantastic day. Wembley still is holy ground. It is different, of

:09:02. > :09:04.course, and for me as a coach to win something at Wembley was a

:09:05. > :09:09.highlight. Mice early start from Roberto Di Matteo that day, wasn't

:09:10. > :09:12.it? It was very quick. It was a great day for the fans, especially

:09:13. > :09:16.after they had waited a long time and the players played excellent.

:09:17. > :09:20.And also, Martin, the potential for a double for one of these teams and

:09:21. > :09:28.something that you at Arsenal knew a lot about. There is a lot on the

:09:29. > :09:30.line here and it is almost like getting your immediate opponent in

:09:31. > :09:32.the Premier League into the same room out there on Wembley turf to

:09:33. > :09:35.prove who is the best team. That will be one hell of a battle here

:09:36. > :09:39.today. It is difficult to call. Chelsea have been magnificent, they

:09:40. > :09:43.are starting to fade, Tottenham looking irresistible. Can they do

:09:44. > :09:47.it? It will be a cracker. Who will get a step closer to this later

:09:48. > :09:50.today, as we talk about it through the programme, letters have a word

:09:51. > :09:54.with Cesc Fabregas looking for his second FA Cup, 12 years after his

:09:55. > :10:04.first. He's been talking to Caroline De Moraes. COMMENTATOR: He is so

:10:05. > :10:11.aware, he is such a good player. Fabregas strikes it and he strikes

:10:12. > :10:16.it beautifully! He has still got a wonderful eye for a pass. Fabregas.

:10:17. > :10:30.Brilliantly taken. You came to the Premier League as a

:10:31. > :10:34.teenager, which feels like a long time ago now. When you look back how

:10:35. > :10:40.do you feel about everything that has happened? Well, I feel like it

:10:41. > :10:44.was a long time ago, actually. I came as a boy and now everything has

:10:45. > :10:49.changed in my life, in my personal life. But professionally I want to

:10:50. > :10:56.keep growing. I want to keep getting better and I want to keep winning

:10:57. > :11:00.trophies. You have recently become a dad again. Congratulations. Thank

:11:01. > :11:07.you so much. How do you handle the life of a footballer and fatherhood?

:11:08. > :11:11.When I didn't play well or we lost and things didn't go my way I used

:11:12. > :11:14.to go home and not talk to anyone. And now you go home with the same

:11:15. > :11:20.disappointment but then you see their faces and I have a different

:11:21. > :11:25.perspective. It does help me a lot, the love I have for them. You've had

:11:26. > :11:30.many things in your career. But how special is the FA Cup? Iwan it with

:11:31. > :11:38.Arsenal 12 years ago. I remember I was very young and it gave me great

:11:39. > :11:43.satisfaction, I was part of it, I played against Ronaldo, Scholes, Roy

:11:44. > :11:46.Keane, it was a fantastic experience for me, I learned a lot in the FA

:11:47. > :11:49.Cup and played a lot of games for Arsenal and Chelsea now and it's a

:11:50. > :11:54.fantastic competition I would love to win again. What does it take to

:11:55. > :11:57.get past this Spurs side? Spurs have grown a lot in recent years, they

:11:58. > :12:02.are doing things very well in keeping their young players and

:12:03. > :12:06.became in the last few years the battle between Spurs and us and it's

:12:07. > :12:09.been fantastic and I enjoy playing against them because they are a

:12:10. > :12:15.fantastic side, no one can deny that. But it's one game, two hours

:12:16. > :12:20.of football that we have to try and be the best. In Wenger, Guardiola

:12:21. > :12:24.and Mourinho, you have worked with the very best. How is Antonio Conte

:12:25. > :12:26.different? He is completely different, completely different to

:12:27. > :12:31.what I'm used to, to what I experienced in my career, another

:12:32. > :12:35.philosophy, another type of football. I had to adapt like

:12:36. > :12:41.everyone else to what he wants and that's it. I'm just trying to play

:12:42. > :12:46.well when I have the chance and show him I deserve to play. How tough is

:12:47. > :12:49.that? How do you deal with that as a professional? I like to play,

:12:50. > :12:54.football is my life and it is still my life but I dealt with it in a way

:12:55. > :12:59.that I didn't think I was capable of. He has spoken to me, he has been

:13:00. > :13:08.honest, he has told me what he wants from me, the reasons why sometimes I

:13:09. > :13:11.don't play. What can I do? Go home and cry? No, you just go to training

:13:12. > :13:15.and give you all and give your best to improve and I will keep doing it

:13:16. > :13:18.until he has no option but to put me on. In the dressing room do you guys

:13:19. > :13:23.talk about the gap at the top? If you ask this to anyone they will say

:13:24. > :13:26.no but actually we didn't have a good performance against Manchester

:13:27. > :13:29.United and all we think about is to work hard and to be able to bounce

:13:30. > :13:36.back and to have a great game against Spurs and be in the final.

:13:37. > :13:40.That's the nature of what we have for this week. You have a big

:13:41. > :13:44.birthday coming up. Do you plan on doing anything special? Two years

:13:45. > :13:47.ago I won the Premier League two days before my birthday so that

:13:48. > :13:53.could be a fantastic way to celebrate my 30th. My God, I don't

:13:54. > :13:58.even want to say 30th! It is still young. I know but I started a long

:13:59. > :14:07.time ago and it feels weird to say 30, but a long way to go, many years

:14:08. > :14:11.for me to play. As you can see we have moved inside, absolutely

:14:12. > :14:16.perfect conditions today for the FA Cup semifinal between Tottenham and

:14:17. > :14:22.Spurs. It is just over four hours away. We are at pitch side. He could

:14:23. > :14:26.play for another five or six seasons at 29 years old, we can see his

:14:27. > :14:30.statistics now. How do you think he will judge and how do you judge him

:14:31. > :14:34.at Chelsea this season? Look, he is a fantastic player on the ball, he

:14:35. > :14:39.knows exactly the spaces where he has to play, the space where he has

:14:40. > :14:44.to play, but without the ball he is not one of the best players. Is that

:14:45. > :14:48.why he has only made nine starts in the Premier League? The year before

:14:49. > :14:52.and Mourinho, the same thing, and why? He is a player that I say

:14:53. > :14:56.cheats in defensive areas. What he does is he pretends to go for

:14:57. > :15:01.pressing and he's always too late, and the others then have to go. Very

:15:02. > :15:05.harsh! When the others have to go he is in a space on his own and the

:15:06. > :15:09.defenders nicked the ball and he is free. He gets the ball and then he

:15:10. > :15:14.does fabulous things with it. Like I said, on the ball he is fantastic,

:15:15. > :15:19.but he is without the ball, and nowadays you need to have 11 players

:15:20. > :15:22.who do their work overtime. I see already this year that he improved

:15:23. > :15:28.already because in the games that he came in he did, he did try and do

:15:29. > :15:31.pressure. Is not a guy who wants to tackle, he doesn't like that. He

:15:32. > :15:39.wants to play. He has a special ability. In the Wenger days. You saw

:15:40. > :15:42.him as a 16-year-old, didn't you? Yes, and when I met his mum and dad

:15:43. > :15:46.and realised I was older than them I realised it was time to retire, he

:15:47. > :15:50.was a great talent and Wenger took me aside to say I must come and

:15:51. > :15:54.watch this kid, his passing and simplicity of his play was

:15:55. > :15:57.outstanding, no doubt. Arsenal changed the way they played,

:15:58. > :16:00.Bergkamp played off the front and they changed it to three up front to

:16:01. > :16:03.accommodate Cesc Fabregas and they are not prepared to do that at

:16:04. > :16:08.Chelsea. They have used him well as an impact player this season. When

:16:09. > :16:12.you have to press the position you have to force something, he knows

:16:13. > :16:15.where to put the ball, he is excellent in that. Here comes the

:16:16. > :16:20.sun, it looks even better in the sunshine. Strange in England with

:16:21. > :16:25.the sun! Don't come here and insult us! We have the same weather in

:16:26. > :16:29.Holland! What do you think about the Chelsea side that use or lose at

:16:30. > :16:35.Manchester United? Are theirs and concerns? You said earlier, what did

:16:36. > :16:39.you say? Chelsea are faltering. I was surprised the manager with

:16:40. > :16:43.Alonso being injured the changes he made caught him on the hop, there

:16:44. > :16:46.was talk that Ahki will play in the wingback position. Cahill is also

:16:47. > :16:52.unavailable. There could also have been an incident. Man United was

:16:53. > :16:55.prepared unbelievably for it and Mourinho especially. He lost the

:16:56. > :17:00.first game already at home against Chelsea and didn't want to lose this

:17:01. > :17:04.game and also lost the FA Cup and also lost. I think he prepared his

:17:05. > :17:09.team mentally. Especially to be physical. Already in the FA Cup they

:17:10. > :17:13.were enormous, physical, especially on Hazard. In this game they are

:17:14. > :17:17.playing at home and it can happen. You can lose against Manchester

:17:18. > :17:22.United. This week the PFA Player of the Year is announced tomorrow, we

:17:23. > :17:27.already have the PFA team of the year, here it is. Four players from

:17:28. > :17:32.Chelsea, four players from Spurs, we will run through the team. It is a

:17:33. > :17:36.fair reflection, only Mane, De Gea and Lukaku in there who are not

:17:37. > :17:40.playing for the top two. Mane did unbelievably well to get in to think

:17:41. > :17:43.he was at the African nations and is injured. Hard to argue and

:17:44. > :17:47.distinguished for the players to be named by their fellow professionals

:17:48. > :17:54.in this line-up. Something I never was able to achieve. We were second

:17:55. > :18:00.placed. That is strange because you are a necessity in a team. Players

:18:01. > :18:04.like him, you need. Without these, Bergkamp can't do the things that he

:18:05. > :18:09.wanted to do. I was never named in it, I didn't take much notice. Not

:18:10. > :18:14.even in consideration. Just go and win your trophies!

:18:15. > :18:16.We see him working in the background regularly, but let's grab

:18:17. > :18:19.a word with Karl Standley, who is head groundsman.

:18:20. > :18:29.Rule show you some live painting. He is in motion. I know you're in full

:18:30. > :18:32.concentration. What time we look this morning and two of you got

:18:33. > :18:39.helping you to make sure the pitch is perfect? We were in for o'clock.

:18:40. > :18:44.The team, an early start for us. We have a long weekend in the game

:18:45. > :18:48.tomorrow as well. A massive amount of team work has gone into it this

:18:49. > :18:53.week. Two corporate game last weekend. The boys have pulled it

:18:54. > :18:57.around, little magicians. I love the way you're describing your team is

:18:58. > :19:03.if you're a manager. We have been with them for 15 years. They're

:19:04. > :19:06.fantastic. A great bunch. Do you feel the pressure on a day like

:19:07. > :19:11.today. Millions of people will be watching. I know we are painting the

:19:12. > :19:16.line. There has been criticism of the pitch here, but now it looks

:19:17. > :19:19.glorious. Yes, everyone got their heads together and realised it was

:19:20. > :19:24.not working with the pitch. We realised what we had to do, from

:19:25. > :19:29.boardroom level down to the pitch itself. Now we have a hybrid page

:19:30. > :19:33.within the system. Everyone has learned and the stadium has

:19:34. > :19:38.developed over time. The FA rang us this week and said, would you like

:19:39. > :19:45.to have a go at painting the line. I said no, mark my boss said yes. Talk

:19:46. > :19:50.us through it. Put your feet mag on that side of the white line. The

:19:51. > :19:56.front transfer roller has to be bang on the edge. There is no pressure.

:19:57. > :20:00.There is millions watching. If I get this wrong, is there a way of

:20:01. > :20:06.getting rid of this, to sort it out for later? No chance. Take your

:20:07. > :20:14.time. No pressure. Stay on the string, Walker. Concentrate,

:20:15. > :20:19.concentrate. I have gone away from the string. If you stop and bring it

:20:20. > :20:25.back on, you will be all right. Otherwise we will have on the line

:20:26. > :20:30.for the millions watching. I have straddled the line. You have said

:20:31. > :20:35.that the pitch has improved. How much of it is authentic and how much

:20:36. > :20:39.of it is synthetic these days? 3% of it is a synthetic strand that is

:20:40. > :20:47.injected into the pitch. The pitch is coming into its eighth year. It

:20:48. > :20:51.is 97% natural rye-grass. I did not really listen to your answer, I am

:20:52. > :21:01.afraid. That is kicked out a little bit. That is fine. Can you give me

:21:02. > :21:06.an assessment? It is pretty shocking. Do I make the team? We

:21:07. > :21:11.will give you a couple of years, and maybe. It is not our bad go for a

:21:12. > :21:17.first time. It is just like school, I am last to be picked. You do what

:21:18. > :21:20.you do best. Sorry, that is all I can say. If you can repair that,

:21:21. > :21:36.that would be lovely. Time to turn our attentions

:21:37. > :21:38.to the Premier League. On Monday, Arsenal kept their slim

:21:39. > :21:45.top four hopes alive with victory We are under way, Arsenal with three

:21:46. > :21:52.at the back. Grant Leadbitter will let one go from long range. It moved

:21:53. > :21:58.in the air. Sanchez, right footed, and Arsenal lead, 1-0. That is

:21:59. > :22:02.absolutely brilliant. Stewart Downing will venture forward. He

:22:03. > :22:10.cuts in on his left foot. Negredo is there. He equalises. Be denied by

:22:11. > :22:18.Petr Cech. It is a real scramble and cleared away by Gabriel. Mesut Ozil

:22:19. > :22:23.making a run through the middle. Brad Guzan was quickly away from his

:22:24. > :22:28.goal line. Into the penalty area, Aaron Ramsey tees it up. Mesut Ozil,

:22:29. > :22:31.and Arsenal are back in front. Three valuable points. It has finished 2-1

:22:32. > :22:34.Arsenal at the Riverside. There are four games today,

:22:35. > :22:37.all at 3 o'clock, including some key Middlesbrough travel to Bournemouth,

:22:38. > :22:42.Hull are looking to continue their impressive home

:22:43. > :22:43.form against Watford. We'll be live at Swansea

:22:44. > :22:46.shortly, who are desparate There are also two matches

:22:47. > :22:50.on Sunday, Burnley vs Manchester United and Liverpool vs

:22:51. > :22:52.Crystal Palace. Middlesbrough start the day

:22:53. > :22:54.second from bottom and six Simon Brotherton's

:22:55. > :23:05.on the south coast. It is an emotional day for

:23:06. > :23:09.Middlesbrough, a club with so many fond memories of Ugo Ehiogu. He will

:23:10. > :23:13.be fondly remembered on the side. He had said in good years there, and

:23:14. > :23:17.the highlight was winning the League Cup in 2004, where he was in the

:23:18. > :23:21.heart of their defence alongside Gareth Southgate. The players today

:23:22. > :23:25.will wear black armbands and we will have a minute supplies ahead of the

:23:26. > :23:29.match in memory of him. The same procedure will apply for

:23:30. > :23:33.Middlesbrough's next home match, against Sunderland on Wednesday. Not

:23:34. > :23:37.looking great for Boro, hard to make a case of them of getting out of the

:23:38. > :23:40.trouble they are in. They fell into the bottom three early last month,

:23:41. > :23:45.but six months adrift and all the statistics point in the wrong

:23:46. > :23:51.direction. They have only won four matches all season, they are the

:23:52. > :23:54.only team in all divisions without a victory this year. One victory on

:23:55. > :23:56.the road, last August. It will be difficult for them when you look at

:23:57. > :24:01.the fixtures they have got coming up. Some hope, Bournemouth have been

:24:02. > :24:05.patchy at home, and have conceded at least two goals in seven of the last

:24:06. > :24:09.eight home matches. I think Eddie Howe's team will be OK, there are

:24:10. > :24:13.seven points clear of the drops or maybe another victory would do it

:24:14. > :24:18.for them. Bournemouth will be OK, but for Boro, it is starting to look

:24:19. > :24:21.pretty bleak. More from Simon on much of the Day later on.

:24:22. > :24:27.Middlesbrough are running out of games. Is it difficult for you to

:24:28. > :24:31.make the case of them staying in the Premier League this season? They

:24:32. > :24:34.surely will not do it. I believe it is Bournemouth that they play today.

:24:35. > :24:39.Bournemouth are looking over their shoulders so they have to get a

:24:40. > :24:44.result today. It is hotting up. Swansea Lee in trouble. Hull have

:24:45. > :24:48.been remarkable recently. There is still a fight on, but today is

:24:49. > :24:53.significant for Middlesbrough. Jack Wilshere has fractured his leg for

:24:54. > :25:08.Bournemouth. He has gone back to Arsenal for rehabilitation.

:25:09. > :25:12.How will we look back on the time at Bournemouth? Has it been a success

:25:13. > :25:15.rent to play football? It was important for him to play, but he

:25:16. > :25:17.always has these injuries, setbacks. The Premiership is hectic. Maybe he

:25:18. > :25:20.forces himself too much to come back. He gets injured again. It is a

:25:21. > :25:23.pity for him as a player and the club. It will curtail, it it will

:25:24. > :25:27.bent what will potentially be one of our top players, player to take over

:25:28. > :25:31.from Gerrard and Paul Scholes. It will not happen. You have to have a

:25:32. > :25:37.liability from your body. His body is not capable of dealing with all

:25:38. > :25:40.these games. The way he plays these games, lots of these injuries, he is

:25:41. > :25:45.running close to opponents, he gets hit and he gets these injuries. If

:25:46. > :25:47.we swing this camera around, if we come down to the far end, I know we

:25:48. > :25:59.are doing this on the roof, there are

:26:00. > :26:01.two officials from the FA investigating the painting of the

:26:02. > :26:04.line. They're taking photographs. Hopefully there will not be a full

:26:05. > :26:07.stewards enquiry. I do not want to be in too much trouble. It is not

:26:08. > :26:12.very straight. There is a gap. There is an issue. We spoke about the

:26:13. > :26:18.semifinal of the FA Cup, but you two played on this page in 1993, England

:26:19. > :26:24.against Holland. Yes, he played quite well. It was like Ander

:26:25. > :26:29.Herrera against Hazard. He never took me anywhere. I was playing left

:26:30. > :26:34.back and I expected him to take me all over the pitch. He had a bandage

:26:35. > :26:40.on his knee. It was like target practice, aiming for the knee when

:26:41. > :26:44.he got the ball. At that stage, he was a top player. You are enjoying

:26:45. > :26:49.each other's company today. It is nice to see. Yes, because we have

:26:50. > :26:54.been battling, lots of fights, but always fear. That is what sport is

:26:55. > :26:57.about. You had to be this close to him, because otherwise he would

:26:58. > :27:00.destroy you. Your man marking him today. We have spoken about

:27:01. > :27:02.Middlesbrough, what about Swansea? Swansea are in the bottom three

:27:03. > :27:05.after a difficult six weeks where they've taken just one point

:27:06. > :27:07.from a possible 18. Paul Clement has described today's

:27:08. > :27:10.game against Stoke as the biggest Former Swansea striker Lee Trundle's

:27:11. > :27:21.at the Liberty Stadium. The manager sees it as an absolute

:27:22. > :27:26.massive game. Are you looking at this one today? Exactly the same. If

:27:27. > :27:31.you look at the past four five games, we have said it will be must

:27:32. > :27:36.win. Today, it definitely is. You're starting to run out of games. Lots

:27:37. > :27:41.of talk about Fernando Llorente. Swansea are desperate to get in

:27:42. > :27:45.scoring. Last week he was on the pitch for 80 minutes and only

:27:46. > :27:50.sprinted for 20 metres. Is it about workrate for him or easy it is he

:27:51. > :27:55.not that sort of player? Workrate is something you should have from the

:27:56. > :27:59.start, it should come naturally. Ability comes after that. He is a

:28:00. > :28:05.target man, he needs crosses in the box to make him work. Lately we have

:28:06. > :28:09.not been doing that. If we want to get out of this situation, he will

:28:10. > :28:13.be the main threat, but we need him to start scoring goals. You're a

:28:14. > :28:17.legend there. As a fan, is it difficult to watch the team at times

:28:18. > :28:21.like this? Very difficult, especially with the style of play

:28:22. > :28:24.Swansea have been known for. It has been nice to watch, but this season

:28:25. > :28:29.it has been frustrating. Performances have not been the best.

:28:30. > :28:36.We find ourselves in this situation. It is not nice. We have been in

:28:37. > :28:39.worse situations, one game away from being out of Football League. We

:28:40. > :28:42.need to bring back that spirit today and get a home victory. I was going

:28:43. > :28:46.to say enjoy the game, but I'm not sure you will be able to. I will

:28:47. > :28:48.enjoy if we win. You can see if he is right.

:28:49. > :28:51.You can follow all of today's Premier League games on Final Score,

:28:52. > :28:54.which is on BBC Two from 4:30, and the red button from 2:50pm.

:28:55. > :28:58.I'll be back for Match Of The Day at 10:20pm.

:28:59. > :29:00.I will be with Kevin Kilbane Trevor Sinclair.

:29:01. > :29:03.And Match Of The Day 2 on Sunday night has highlights of both

:29:04. > :29:05.Liverpool vs Crystal Palace and Burnley vs Manchester United,

:29:06. > :29:09.as well as the PFA Player Of The Year announcement.

:29:10. > :29:12.Let's turn our attention back to this evening's FA Cup

:29:13. > :29:17.Coverage on BBC One from 4:50 with Gary Lineker and the team.

:29:18. > :29:19.Mousa Dembele has been crucial for Spurs this season.

:29:20. > :29:44.The FA Cup trophy is very attractive. It has a rich history

:29:45. > :29:48.between the trophy and this football club. Have you dared to dream about

:29:49. > :29:54.winning this trophy? Of course. We're not going to hide it. We

:29:55. > :29:58.believe we can win. We believe we can do something. I am sure

:29:59. > :30:02.everybody is dreaming of winning the cup. Pochettino said he wished he

:30:03. > :30:08.had had you as a younger player. What is your relationship like with

:30:09. > :30:13.the manager? Very good. He speaks a lot with me. Overall, the way he

:30:14. > :30:18.trains, the way he motivates people, it is something special. Everybody

:30:19. > :30:24.recognises that is the biggest thing why we have so much success. He says

:30:25. > :30:28.if you had me before, obviously, when I was younger. I know what he

:30:29. > :30:32.means. He helped to show me my Leonard, that I can do more than I

:30:33. > :30:39.did before, so it is something big for me. Have you taken time to get

:30:40. > :30:44.to your true potential? For me, I do not think so. I think I am playing

:30:45. > :30:49.better, but overall, it is easier to play the way we play now. We know

:30:50. > :30:54.what to do. You are in a title race again for the second consecutive

:30:55. > :30:59.year. How does this season compared to last season, what has changed?

:31:00. > :31:04.Last year, the last few games, it is difficult to say what happened. This

:31:05. > :31:09.year we are more focused. We believe in it as well. Even if everyone said

:31:10. > :31:14.before, so many points, personally I do not try to think too much, how

:31:15. > :31:18.many points, we just try to win a game. What is the situation with

:31:19. > :31:24.Spurs playing at Wembley. They have not played their best there. Why is

:31:25. > :31:29.that? I do not believe it is bad luck or it is not irrelevant. The

:31:30. > :31:34.squads were not always the best, -- the scores were not always the best,

:31:35. > :31:40.but we have enough quality to play on any pitch. I am not scared. You

:31:41. > :31:44.go into the semifinal of the FA Cup. Joe C or league leaders and your

:31:45. > :31:49.second. Do Chelsea have a psychological advantage? -- Chelsea

:31:50. > :31:55.or league leaders. I do not believe this. They respect us. It will not

:31:56. > :31:57.be easy for them. It is a game on its own. For me, personally, it has

:31:58. > :32:04.nothing to do with that. Spurs have played Chelsea before and

:32:05. > :32:12.it's an intense atmosphere and intense game. But it's important

:32:13. > :32:19.that players remain disciplined, do you not agree? Of course, I think we

:32:20. > :32:24.all learned personally as well from the game before as well. We were

:32:25. > :32:27.very excited and wanted to win so badly. It's not going to be

:32:28. > :32:31.different this time but now I think we are going to think much more, try

:32:32. > :32:36.and concentrate much more on the game itself than what is around even

:32:37. > :32:43.if people try and provoke you. We are experienced enough to know what

:32:44. > :32:47.we have to do, the only thing is it's football and that's on the

:32:48. > :32:53.pitch. This is Wembley Stadium, if you are just joining us this is

:32:54. > :32:56.Football Focus, live on FA Cup semifinal day, we are in the belly

:32:57. > :32:59.of the stadium where Mousa Dembele and the rest of the Spurs and

:33:00. > :33:05.Chelsea players make their way onto the pitch. We like to show you

:33:06. > :33:09.around, we change the livery and the pictures. We will have a look inside

:33:10. > :33:12.there. Those Spurs fans watching will know this is not a favourite

:33:13. > :33:18.stadium for Spurs, they've played in the new Wembley nine times and only

:33:19. > :33:22.won twice. You can see our Football Focus paraphernalia, good morning,

:33:23. > :33:27.lovely to see you. Hopefully you can see come on you Spurs has been

:33:28. > :33:31.painted on the floor, lovely mood lighting, Ruud Gullit and Martin are

:33:32. > :33:35.in position. Mauricio Pochettino described Mousa Dembele as a genius.

:33:36. > :33:42.Do we underrate him in this country, do you think? It also depends on the

:33:43. > :33:48.personality, he is a very quiet boy. When he was in Holland he could have

:33:49. > :33:57.gone to Ajax and he didn't do it and he took step by Estec but now he is

:33:58. > :34:02.on a highlight. Is a crucial part of the Tottenham team, we mentioned

:34:03. > :34:06.their poor record here and in FA Cup semifinals. You've spoken a lot

:34:07. > :34:09.about their mentality. Do you think they've got what it takes to turn

:34:10. > :34:15.the record around and beat Chelsea? Without doubt a modest Tottenham

:34:16. > :34:21.team is purring, north London rival as I was, we look with envy at what

:34:22. > :34:25.Tottenham are about and may be going to accomplish. Dembele and Wanyama

:34:26. > :34:29.in midfield, everyone wants to talk about Kante and the fact they almost

:34:30. > :34:33.have 12 players, Chelsea but those two deserve a mention, they form the

:34:34. > :34:37.platform and field, Dele Alli gets the credit and rightly so but they

:34:38. > :34:41.have a very strong and powerful midfield. You mentioned Dele Alli, I

:34:42. > :34:47.wonder what your thoughts are on him as we see a bit more of Dembele

:34:48. > :34:51.inaction. Dembele, -- Dele Alli, he's a great footballer and he is

:34:52. > :34:55.scoring goals, this is a good test of his maturity, isn't it? This is a

:34:56. > :35:02.game by itself, of course. You only have one opportunity to do it. I

:35:03. > :35:06.think he has it in him. He also has an naughtiness sometimes, even bad

:35:07. > :35:16.boy. That is the good thing about him because he's do everything to

:35:17. > :35:19.win the game and he's getting better. These Tottenham players need

:35:20. > :35:24.to win a trophy, because that's the next step, and keep this group

:35:25. > :35:28.together, there is a core of really strong English players, that's what

:35:29. > :35:33.I like Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Walker, Rose, they have outstanding talents

:35:34. > :35:37.in the team and a good mix and Dembele is important, talking about

:35:38. > :35:40.his maturity now. This game last year in the Premier League against

:35:41. > :35:44.Chelsea the fireworks went off and Tottenham players will remember that

:35:45. > :35:48.but they go into the game in an intelligent fashion listening to the

:35:49. > :35:50.interview. They do need a trophy, as you say.

:35:51. > :35:51.Plenty more to come about the semifinals and also this still to

:35:52. > :36:00.come on Football Focus. We hear from Manchester City's

:36:01. > :36:03.American superstar Carli Lloyd. Chris Hughton reflects

:36:04. > :36:06.on an historic week for Brighton. We'll discuss what the future

:36:07. > :36:15.holds for John Terry. Spurs- Chelsea today, tomorrow

:36:16. > :36:19.Arsenal against Manchester City and this competition this season, the FA

:36:20. > :36:22.Cup, does constitute the last opportunity for Pep Guardiola and

:36:23. > :36:29.Arsene Wenger to finish the season with something shiny. The FA Cup is

:36:30. > :36:33.a very important game for me because it's the next game and because it's

:36:34. > :36:38.an opportunity, as I just told you, to win a trophy this season. So, of

:36:39. > :36:49.course, we are all fully focused on that. My future is Sunday. In the FA

:36:50. > :36:53.Cup I want to show my players in their head how good they are, I said

:36:54. > :36:58.many times they still do believe how good they are. They are fantastic

:36:59. > :37:04.players and a fantastic team. Winning titles helps you a lot.

:37:05. > :37:09.Winning helps winning more. I think it could be a very intense game with

:37:10. > :37:14.two teams trying to go forward. It could be a very spectacular game.

:37:15. > :37:18.Once the first goal is scored. So let's hope we score first. We have

:37:19. > :37:21.made a quick dash because we've shown you the players' dressing

:37:22. > :37:25.rooms over the years but I don't think we have showed you the

:37:26. > :37:30.referees' place but this is where the match officials do their

:37:31. > :37:34.business. We will come back to those bells later. You can see what Martin

:37:35. > :37:39.Atkinson and his team will have, the programme, the fourth official's

:37:40. > :37:43.board, supplier of chocolate, ball pressure gauge, safe for the

:37:44. > :37:50.valuables. You will be pleased to hear they only take one bottle into

:37:51. > :37:54.the shower. And have a look at this on the wall, Gary Lineker scoring

:37:55. > :37:59.his first goal for England in 1985. What ever happened to him? The other

:38:00. > :38:03.thing to show you with Martin Keown is this strange bell system. The

:38:04. > :38:07.referee is in charge of calling everyone got changing rooms, players

:38:08. > :38:11.corridor, ball girls and ball boys, and everyone to get them ready to go

:38:12. > :38:16.onto the pitch. Ruud Gullit is in the Tottenham dressing room so if

:38:17. > :38:19.you press ring all, you will hear the noise go off and we can see Ruud

:38:20. > :38:23.Gullit and he will make his way here, we will see you in a moment.

:38:24. > :38:29.Give him one more belt to make sure he turns up. He is on his way and he

:38:30. > :38:32.will be here soon. Let's talk about Arsenal against Manchester City

:38:33. > :38:35.tomorrow. From the Arsenal perspective how important is this

:38:36. > :38:44.game and defensively, Arsenal have gone to a back three which they have

:38:45. > :38:47.not played for a long time since you were there. It could be a defining

:38:48. > :38:49.day because I think Guardiola is a fantastic tactician. If Arsenal play

:38:50. > :38:52.three at the back, and I concede Sana Khan Sterling with their feet

:38:53. > :38:55.planted firmly on the touchline what will Arsenal do with their

:38:56. > :39:00.wingbacks, will Axley Chamberlin comeback? It is fascinating

:39:01. > :39:04.tactically. Is the game starting? Where are your boots? You were

:39:05. > :39:11.talking about Arsenal tactically. Stop getting distracted! He always

:39:12. > :39:14.distracts me! It really is, it is a game where Arsenal could get taken

:39:15. > :39:18.to the cleaners if they are not right tactically. Fascinating to see

:39:19. > :39:21.if Arsene Wenger reverts back to his usual back four but in the middle of

:39:22. > :39:25.the park is where Guardiola wants to get bodies around the ball, De

:39:26. > :39:29.Bruyne and Silva, he almost creates a pitch within it pitch and that is

:39:30. > :39:32.where Arsenal must boss the midfield. What was the back three

:39:33. > :39:36.like when you were playing? Was at Steve Bould, you and Adams was Matt

:39:37. > :39:40.Adams was in the middle and me and Steve Bould were running all over

:39:41. > :39:44.the pitch. It was tricky, we played a four for many years, experienced

:39:45. > :39:47.players, doing the walk through every Monday going through the

:39:48. > :39:51.scenarios and problems and you need to know your stuff tactically from a

:39:52. > :39:56.manager's pointedly and the players. What do you prefer? I prefer the

:39:57. > :40:02.back four when it's done right and well drilled and get the distances

:40:03. > :40:07.right between the lines. You played a lot better when you went back to a

:40:08. > :40:11.back four. That was down to a young Nicolas Anelka. Tony was a

:40:12. > :40:15.magnificent player and played with his heart on his sleeve, as you can

:40:16. > :40:20.see. I am not sure what was thrown at me there. That was Tony going for

:40:21. > :40:25.an early bath. I can't believe you acted like that because I don't

:40:26. > :40:28.believe you have that in new. From a Manchester City perspective, it

:40:29. > :40:32.would be important for Guardiola, I know he hates the question, but to

:40:33. > :40:35.get a trophy in his first season to settle everything down. Of course,

:40:36. > :40:39.he has the spotlight on him all season because of what he's achieved

:40:40. > :40:42.in the past. He doesn't have the team he had in the past, not

:40:43. > :40:46.Barcelona, not the best team in Germany. He has one of the best

:40:47. > :40:51.teams in England and everybody is battling for trophies. That makes it

:40:52. > :40:55.so hard for him. Of course, I like the way he plays. He finishes every

:40:56. > :40:59.season with a trophy, you have to remember, so don't write him off.

:41:00. > :41:03.No, I don't, he still has a chance, of course he doesn't want to hear it

:41:04. > :41:08.all the time. But he is such a fantastic coach and the way he plays

:41:09. > :41:15.is great. But this is England, England is different. You also drive

:41:16. > :41:20.the wrong way and all these things. That's one too many! I wonder how

:41:21. > :41:24.many times you can press this before it becomes annoying. You know what

:41:25. > :41:27.we used to do, we would keep the opposition waiting, we wouldn't go

:41:28. > :41:30.into the tunnel before the opposition would. All of these

:41:31. > :41:38.little insights, you get all of that. Arsenal against Manchester

:41:39. > :41:43.City is live on 5 live. Also highlights on Match of the Day 2.

:41:44. > :41:47.There is also a huge game for Manchester City's women this week

:41:48. > :41:51.who play Lyon in the semifinals of the Champions League and Sue Smith

:41:52. > :41:59.has been speaking to the all all-star American Carli Lloyd.

:42:00. > :42:06.These are all glorious moments and what isn't up here is all of the

:42:07. > :42:09.hard moments that I had to go through, the struggles, the

:42:10. > :42:11.obstacles, and those moments have helped me propel onto the biggest

:42:12. > :42:14.stage. COMMENTATOR: What a goal, Carli

:42:15. > :42:27.Lloyd has a hat-trick! It is crazy to think it was almost

:42:28. > :42:30.two years ago and that was one of the best moments in my career,

:42:31. > :42:35.scoring in the World Cup final was 13 years of training when nobody was

:42:36. > :42:40.watching. When you prepare and prepare over and over again good

:42:41. > :42:45.moments usually follow that. The Man City picture, how did that all come

:42:46. > :42:51.about? It is funny because I was standing here in Manchester, I never

:42:52. > :42:55.thought I would have the opportunity to do this in women's football. It

:42:56. > :43:00.says a lot about the growth of the game, it says a lot about obviously

:43:01. > :43:05.Man City really taking the time and effort to put into the women's team.

:43:06. > :43:09.So, your football to-do list, on for the treble? Is that one of the main

:43:10. > :43:13.reasons you came to Man City? Yes, they had done a great job of getting

:43:14. > :43:17.the team into the quarterfinals of the Champions League and I think if

:43:18. > :43:20.I can make a difference on the pitch that's fantastic, but I think off

:43:21. > :43:24.the pitch I will have a massive difference as well. Looking at the

:43:25. > :43:28.Champions League, you have the holders Lyon, do you think you will

:43:29. > :43:32.take the game to them? It's not about the opponent, it's not about

:43:33. > :43:36.any one particular player. Yes, Alex Morgan is on that team, but at the

:43:37. > :43:39.end of the day I am competing against myself and we have to put

:43:40. > :43:44.our foot to the pedal and take it to them and have the confidence and

:43:45. > :43:49.belief that we can win. You mentioned Alex Morgan. She will be

:43:50. > :43:52.up for a battle with Lucy Bronze down that side. How do you think

:43:53. > :43:55.that will go? Lucy is a tough player, she's done really well and

:43:56. > :43:59.I've been really impressed with her. It will be a tough battle but I

:44:00. > :44:03.think there will be battles all over the pitch. At the end of the data we

:44:04. > :44:07.just have to worry about us and what we do and what we control and we

:44:08. > :44:12.will be OK. Are you still as hungry for success as ever? I am. There are

:44:13. > :44:18.people out there who still look at my age and save two years at the

:44:19. > :44:21.2019 World Cup she will be 36 but bring it on, people have doubted me

:44:22. > :44:25.ever since I started with this team and make them eat their words, and I

:44:26. > :44:27.will continue to do that but I still have a lot in me and I think my best

:44:28. > :44:31.is yet to come. Highlights of that Champions League

:44:32. > :44:34.semifinal, as well as the start of the Spring Series,

:44:35. > :44:36.on The Women's Football Tina Daheley is joined by

:44:37. > :44:48.Rachel Brown-Finnis and Alex Scott. They will no doubt discuss the

:44:49. > :44:49.situation at Notts County ladies which has been developing over the

:44:50. > :44:51.last few days. The Scottish Cup semi-finals take

:44:52. > :45:03.place this weekend at Hampden Park. It is currently Hibernian 0-2

:45:04. > :45:06.Aberdeen. You can follow that on the BBC sport website as well. It is

:45:07. > :45:11.Rangers against Celtic tomorrow in the other one. We talked a bit about

:45:12. > :45:15.Spurs' record in the FA Cup. Yes, they have won it eight times over

:45:16. > :45:19.the years but if they lose today they would be the first team ever to

:45:20. > :45:32.lose seven consecutive FA Cup semifinals. The last one they won

:45:33. > :45:36.was 1991. The free kick is just left of centre. Is Paul Gascoigne going

:45:37. > :45:50.to have a crack? Years. I say, brilliant. -- he is, you know. That

:45:51. > :45:57.is schoolboy's on stuff. It has gone in. Gary Lineker. He got the final

:45:58. > :46:13.touch. Smith. He has scored. The cross from

:46:14. > :46:16.Nixon, Smith's head, and Arsenal have got what they desperately

:46:17. > :46:30.needed, a goal before half-time. Lineker uses Samways by not using

:46:31. > :46:36.him. Good choice. The scorers. David Seaman will be disappointed. It

:46:37. > :46:42.seemed to go through his fingers. Campbell hit the woodwork. Paul

:46:43. > :46:46.Merson. Just a whisker away. An example to any professional player,

:46:47. > :46:53.Gary Mabbutt. He will bring his team back here for the final. That was a

:46:54. > :46:58.truly amazing game. Spurs went on to win the final that year, beating

:46:59. > :47:03.Nottingham Forest. Gary Mabbutt was the captain that season. I want to

:47:04. > :47:07.rerun the Paul Gascoigne free kick again. Without you, it would not

:47:08. > :47:13.have been remembered as one of the great FA Cup semifinal goals. As

:47:14. > :47:17.Paul Gascoigne struck it, I ducked and managed to get out of the way.

:47:18. > :47:23.Paul has got a great picture when he hated and me ducking, and the ball

:47:24. > :47:27.going over my head. You are correct. Does that class as an assist? In

:47:28. > :47:31.this day and age, it was only goals you were credited with. We have

:47:32. > :47:35.spoken about the current Spurs side. That was a great team you play them.

:47:36. > :47:40.This team need to win a trophy but what do you think of this current

:47:41. > :47:44.crop of players? It is a fantastic group of players. The last couple of

:47:45. > :47:48.seasons we have stepped up to the mark. Last year we push Leicester

:47:49. > :47:52.all the way. In the last few games of the season, the lack of

:47:53. > :47:55.experience showed. This year we have come into it and the extra

:47:56. > :48:03.experience and maturity of players, and as the season has moved on, we

:48:04. > :48:06.have got stronger. We are in the fantastic situation where our

:48:07. > :48:09.confidence is high. We have a great run of games going. A straight

:48:10. > :48:15.victories in a row. The momentum can hopefully carry us into the game

:48:16. > :48:19.today. I cannot wait for the game to start, the two best teams in the

:48:20. > :48:23.country. But the psychological effect this game could have for the

:48:24. > :48:27.Premiership title, those last six games, could be massive. When I

:48:28. > :48:30.mentioned that we were going to talk to about 1991, Martin said, make

:48:31. > :48:38.sure you mention the other semifinals. What do you want to talk

:48:39. > :48:42.about, Martin? 2001. What happened? I think Arsenal beat Tottenham. That

:48:43. > :48:47.was at Old Trafford. It is the Wembley effect. We played here in

:48:48. > :48:51.the Champions League and we did not enjoy it. Surely there is an

:48:52. > :48:55.advantage. Eric Dier has played here are ten times for England and his

:48:56. > :49:01.club. He will surely have an advantage over the Chelsea players?

:49:02. > :49:05.For me, Wembley is always a one off, the moment you were looking for. If

:49:06. > :49:09.you play here regularly, it takes the magic away. Spurs do not have a

:49:10. > :49:16.good record at Wembley. We have shared the glory. That semifinal,

:49:17. > :49:20.you went on to our final against Nottingham Forest. Des Walker scored

:49:21. > :49:24.the own goal. You had a crushing moment when you scored the own goal

:49:25. > :49:28.in the final, which is remembered for Coventry's amazing win. What is

:49:29. > :49:33.it like watching this again? I do not want to dwell on this. I have

:49:34. > :49:38.been lucky enough to have the joy and the despair of the FA Cup. It is

:49:39. > :49:43.the only FA Cup final Spurs have lost. It was a great game of

:49:44. > :49:48.football. We went into the lead, the equaliser, I scored per Tottenham,

:49:49. > :49:51.2-1, they equalised again with a great header. The cries came into

:49:52. > :49:56.the box, I tried to block it and it hit me on the need and looped over

:49:57. > :50:01.Ray Clemence. We did everything to get back in the game but we could

:50:02. > :50:05.not. Some nights you go to bed and you can run it in your mind like a

:50:06. > :50:12.video tape, what happened in the past. The detail he has given us, it

:50:13. > :50:17.has not left him. You have them? I had those moments, do not worry. You

:50:18. > :50:19.can mention them if you want. A wise man once spoke about greeting

:50:20. > :50:25.triumph and disaster and dealing with them the same. Thank you for

:50:26. > :50:28.joining us. John Terry has won his fair share of trophies with Chelsea.

:50:29. > :50:31.Today could be John Terry's last appearance at Wembley in the

:50:32. > :50:34.It was announced this week that, after over

:50:35. > :50:37.20-years at the club, Terry will leave Chelsea at the end of

:50:38. > :50:53.Will he get some more silverware. A great tackle by John Terry.

:50:54. > :51:18.And John Kerry gets his first senior goal.

:51:19. > :51:24.It was, of course, five years ago that John Kerry was stood roundabout

:51:25. > :51:33.year celebrating the FA Cup final. You can be Frank Lampard. There they

:51:34. > :51:36.are, celebrating the trophy left. Ruud, how do you think John Terry

:51:37. > :51:42.will have judged the timing of this announcement? It seems a little

:51:43. > :51:47.strange? I think he has been a gentleman. He has been very

:51:48. > :51:54.professional. Maybe he also had moments to think about his future as

:51:55. > :51:59.well. It is strange to see, because John Terry is Chelsea. They all lots

:52:00. > :52:03.to him. I am curious to see what is going to do. I hope, at least, in

:52:04. > :52:09.the future that Chelsea will take him into the board, maybe as a

:52:10. > :52:14.coach, or somebody important in the Chelsea organisation. He deserves

:52:15. > :52:17.that. I think there will be a future for him. I will have to get the FA

:52:18. > :52:23.Cup out of the shot. You just want to hold the cup. John Terry has to

:52:24. > :52:30.choose well really goes next. He needs that protection in front of

:52:31. > :52:33.him. For England? -- in England? I think so. Half the Premiership will

:52:34. > :52:38.be interested. They want the leadership qualities in the group.

:52:39. > :52:44.He has got to protect himself and in doing so, he will protect the team.

:52:45. > :52:47.You cannot expose yourself when you're 38, when I went to Leicester

:52:48. > :52:53.I experienced that, you do not want to be the quickest in the back four.

:52:54. > :52:57.The producer is unhappy with me. They were saying, how dare you leave

:52:58. > :53:03.the great Gary Mabbutt with a low point. He started like this, and at

:53:04. > :53:10.the end, he was like this. I said, sorry, this is what they do. Gary,

:53:11. > :53:15.we all love you. He ran away. The rough with the smooth. We will talk

:53:16. > :53:20.about Brighton. Against Norwich City last night, Norwich City won 2-0 but

:53:21. > :53:23.did not have a shot on target. Both goals were on goals from the

:53:24. > :53:28.Brighton goalkeeper, David Stockdale. Mark Clemmit has been

:53:29. > :53:33.speaking to Chris Hughton this week and concentrating on the positives.

:53:34. > :53:38.Seagulls. 20 years ago, the club staring into the abyss, and now with

:53:39. > :53:42.the seagulls can prepare for the big time. Here we are, the dream becomes

:53:43. > :53:49.reality. How does that make you feel? Some of it is a relief, being

:53:50. > :53:55.in the top two in the division very much for the whole of the season.

:53:56. > :54:01.Expectation rises. As a manager, you have to get control of that. If

:54:02. > :54:05.you're not able to control it, you might see a different atmosphere,

:54:06. > :54:10.and the different atmosphere might see different results. Thankfully

:54:11. > :54:15.for me, the players have been key to that as well. This is a great

:54:16. > :54:20.opportunity for you. You have grafted for this, haven't you? Yes,

:54:21. > :54:24.but as a manager and coach, you are no different to when you were a

:54:25. > :54:28.player. You want to apply your trade at the best level possible. The

:54:29. > :54:31.challenges are there. I am very much looking forward to the challenges of

:54:32. > :54:37.playing against some wonderful players and wonderful clubs in the

:54:38. > :54:42.best league. Do you in anyway fear going the Premier League? There has

:54:43. > :54:48.to be a percentage of fear. There has to be. It gives you that bigger

:54:49. > :54:52.desire to make sure you're prepared for it properly. I feel it is very

:54:53. > :54:57.comfortable to have that element of fear going into the Premier League,

:54:58. > :55:00.but that is only a small percentage. The bigger percentage is the

:55:01. > :55:04.excitement of playing against some of the best players in the world.

:55:05. > :55:11.Every single player should look forward to that. Bodnar. Lovely

:55:12. > :55:17.finish. I do not see us making wholesale changes. We need to make

:55:18. > :55:21.sure we give ourselves every opportunity to improve the squad,

:55:22. > :55:24.but we also have to learn from teams that have gone up from the

:55:25. > :55:28.Championship into the Premier League and have done well enough to stay

:55:29. > :55:32.there another season or a couple of seasons. Even looking at Burnley,

:55:33. > :55:37.who, having gone up the first time, came back down again. The land from

:55:38. > :55:41.that and they have a stronger this season. There are really could be

:55:42. > :55:45.something if you could stabilise the club in the top-flight? You will see

:55:46. > :55:49.numerous clubs the drop out of the top flight. Their support base goes

:55:50. > :55:56.down and do find it difficult to that back. This club went from one

:55:57. > :56:02.ground to filling as 30,000 all-seater stadium on a regular

:56:03. > :56:06.basis. The fans in front of us have stayed for a long time at the Amex

:56:07. > :56:10.Stadium. They're chanting, we are in the Premier League. Is returning to

:56:11. > :56:14.the Premier League unfinished business for you? I have not looked

:56:15. > :56:19.at it that way. I am a better manager now than I was two years

:56:20. > :56:23.ago, five years ago. What gives you that experience is different clubs

:56:24. > :56:27.and different situations. I have had good times in management but

:56:28. > :56:30.difficult times as well. You cannot be the manager you want to be

:56:31. > :56:37.without having gone through difficult times. No, nothing to

:56:38. > :56:42.prove, it is just a great opportunity again to manage at the

:56:43. > :56:47.top level. Brighton and Hove Albion have conquered their mountain.

:56:48. > :56:52.It has been an incredible story. You made your debut their? I did, back

:56:53. > :56:57.in the day. Chris Hughton as well, he has been a Premier League manager

:56:58. > :57:01.with Norwich City, Newcastle, he has now got there with Brighton. I hope

:57:02. > :57:05.they trust him and keep him there. The team will flourish in the

:57:06. > :57:12.Premier League. I have no doubt. Hibernian have got a goal back.

:57:13. > :57:16.Aberdeen are leading 2-1. A quick word on Harry Redknapp, back in

:57:17. > :57:20.management at Birmingham. Astonishing. The last time I spoke

:57:21. > :57:25.to me was happy to spend his time in the south coast and now he is back

:57:26. > :57:27.in the big time at Birmingham. The pressure is on to keep them up.

:57:28. > :57:30.Non-league Lincoln, who reached the quarterfinals of the FA Cup

:57:31. > :57:32.this season, will be promoted to League 2 with victory over

:57:33. > :57:39.It is currently 1-1. Ruud, I will put you on the spot. You have

:57:40. > :57:45.entertained us on Football Focus. Who will win today? Chelsea. They

:57:46. > :57:51.have more wins against Spurs so they will win again. They are cheating,

:57:52. > :57:53.Chelsea, because they have 12 players. N'Golo Kante is so good, I

:57:54. > :57:57.think Chelsea will win. Thank you. Gary Lineker will be

:57:58. > :57:59.back here at Wembley We leave you with another

:58:00. > :58:02.tribute to Ugo Ehiogu, who tragically passed away yesterday

:58:03. > :58:06.at the age of 44.
