:00:11. > :00:18.Previously on F1. Oh wow, this is fabulous stuff. What entertainment

:00:18. > :00:23.we got there. That is tight. That is close. Fantastic stuff and oh so

:00:23. > :00:33.close. That throws this Championship wide-open. Round 16,

:00:33. > :00:33.

:00:33. > :01:22.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 48 seconds

:01:22. > :01:28.What do you think of this place then? Very impressive. Should be a

:01:28. > :01:34.statue there of the great warrior. You're a great F1 warrior. Not many

:01:34. > :01:39.people would admit to that. It does look like Bernie with a helmet on.

:01:39. > :01:49.The view isn't bad, but at the top the view is stunning. But it's a

:01:49. > :01:51.

:01:51. > :01:55.long walk. Are you good for a trek? Yes. Come on EJ. You have been on

:01:56. > :01:59.my back for the last four years. The title is close, four points in

:01:59. > :02:04.it. It is hard to think of the season getting any more exciting.

:02:04. > :02:08.It has been a great season. We have been lucky, five races to go. Who

:02:08. > :02:14.will win? This is when the pressure builds on the teams and drivers.

:02:14. > :02:19.This isn't the top of the hill. Come on, we're going up here. How

:02:19. > :02:27.much did the first ten seconds of that Japanese Grand Prix mean for

:02:27. > :02:36.the title battle? Everything. a Fernando Alonso? Fernando Alonso

:02:36. > :02:45.only two races he has not finished involved two first lap crashes.

:02:45. > :02:49.cease vet as being his only competitor. Lewis Hamilton...

:02:49. > :02:54.you think his announcement that he is moving to Mercedes will affect

:02:54. > :02:59.the next five races? No, I think there will be some lesh pressure

:02:59. > :03:04.lifted, he has -- pressure lifted, he will just jump in the car and

:03:04. > :03:09.drive. Kimy, could he do it? could be a pawn in the mix, but to

:03:09. > :03:17.be the king at the end, I'm not sure he can. Sebastian Vettel has

:03:18. > :03:21.days period. Japan was perfect for Seb and Red Bull. Yes it shows what

:03:21. > :03:26.great form they have had with developments. That must make the

:03:26. > :03:31.other teams nervous. That is your first real look at South Korea,

:03:31. > :03:36.isn't that beautiful? A beautiful view to celebrate the start of a

:03:36. > :03:42.beautiful run in to the 2012 World Championship. That is lovely. This

:03:42. > :03:48.is a country with so much to boast about and for three years they have

:03:48. > :03:53.been able to boast about the Yeongam circuit. This year we have

:03:53. > :03:56.so much to fight for in the Championship. 12 months ago,

:03:56. > :04:01.Sebastian Vettel was already the world champion when he got here.

:04:01. > :04:05.That is not case now. Just four points separating Sebastian Vettel

:04:05. > :04:09.and Fernando Alonso and in the constructors battle, Red Bull have

:04:09. > :04:15.led the way in the last few seasons, but McLaren are pushing them hard.

:04:15. > :04:23.All the action coming your way in a moment with David and Ben. But

:04:23. > :04:33.first here is Lee McKenzie with what happened in qualifying. Q1 got

:04:33. > :04:35.

:04:35. > :04:41.off to a flying start. Jenson Button had a disappointing day.

:04:41. > :04:45.Daniel Ricciardo qualified in 11th. Fernando Alonso said his

:04:45. > :04:49.performance in qualifying was betteren -- better than he expected

:04:49. > :04:53.and this season with Ferrari stronger on race days than

:04:53. > :04:57.Saturdays, he should be happy with fourth. Lewis Hamilton hasn't

:04:58. > :05:02.looked comfortable in Q1 or 2. But he was desperate to get on the

:05:02. > :05:09.front row of the grid and even took over Michael Schumacher on the pit

:05:09. > :05:18.lane. Lewis Hamilton in the end had to settle for third. For the second

:05:18. > :05:21.week in a row, Red Bull locked out the front row. Mark Webber was at

:05:21. > :05:28.the front. Sebastian Vettel tried another lap, but it wasn't enough

:05:28. > :05:33.and for the first time this season, the Aussie was fastest on Saturday.

:05:33. > :05:38.So Mark Webber is on pole with Mark Webber in second. Lewis Hamilton is

:05:38. > :05:43.third and Fernando Alonso is fourth. Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa are

:05:43. > :05:53.on the third row. Romain Grosjean is desperate for a trouble-free

:05:53. > :06:10.

:06:10. > :06:14.start, as are the drivers around position for Red Bull and it is the

:06:14. > :06:18.second time that Red Bull have had pole position in the three years

:06:18. > :06:24.that the Korean Grand Prix has been running. The starter keeping an eye

:06:24. > :06:29.on the line up of all of the cars. Looking out of our commentary box I

:06:29. > :06:33.can see Jenson Button and Sergio Perez coming past, lining up.

:06:33. > :06:37.Christian Horner wondering if this will be a straight forward victory

:06:37. > :06:43.for Red Bull, as it was in Japan, where Sebastian Vettel dominated

:06:43. > :06:49.from the start and never seemed to be under trouble, even under safety

:06:49. > :06:53.car conditions. Or will ther their work cut out this time? 24 cars

:06:53. > :07:00.lined up to start the Korean Grand Prix and the key stage in the

:07:00. > :07:04.Championship. Lights out - away we go. Mark Webber versus Sebastian

:07:04. > :07:07.Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. On the first corner,

:07:07. > :07:11.Sebastian Vettel has the advantage and Fernando Alonso tried to gain

:07:11. > :07:15.ground as he goes side by side through turn two. But it is

:07:15. > :07:18.Sebastian Vettel, here comes Mark Webber. He will try and get him

:07:18. > :07:28.back. Fernando Alonso side by side with Lewis Hamilton. Kimi Raikkonen

:07:28. > :07:31.is in there as well. Who will get the run in to the hairpin? Romain

:07:31. > :07:36.Grosjean is safe and staying out of trouble for the moment. Here is

:07:36. > :07:40.Lewis Hamilton with a chance to still fight with Kimi Raikkonen as

:07:40. > :07:46.Fernando Alonso tries to go around the outside of Mark Webber. David,

:07:46. > :07:53.there is a lot going on Hoo -- here. DAVID COULTHARD: Yes and there has

:07:53. > :08:00.been some Damage further down the field. Felipe Massa is going wheel

:08:00. > :08:06.to wheel with the Lotus car. Look at Sebastian Vettel, opening out

:08:06. > :08:12.the lead, but what an absolute example of wheel to wheel racing.

:08:12. > :08:18.There this a damage we were talking about. Jenson Button. Been hit by

:08:18. > :08:25.Kobayashi. What an idiot. Oh dear, it is Kobayashi that took him out

:08:25. > :08:29.and Jenson Button's race is over. What he said sums up what happened.

:08:29. > :08:37.Jpbz was on the left hand side going into turn three and Kobayashi

:08:38. > :08:42.came out of nowhere and hit the front right of the McLaren.

:08:42. > :08:47.Disappointment for Jenson Button. And remember how they raced so hard

:08:47. > :08:51.in Japan and Kobayashi took third ahead of Jenson Button and Jenson

:08:51. > :09:00.Button congratulated him after the race. I don't think the feeling it

:09:00. > :09:05.quite the same. Sergio Perez has had a good start. He is up to ninth.

:09:05. > :09:10.Some racing going on back down the line. Heikki Kovalinan ahead of

:09:10. > :09:18.Daniel Ricciardo, but Daniel Ricciardo is ahead of Petrov.

:09:18. > :09:23.Daniel Ricciardo had a grid penalty. Two Red Bull up there, both Lotuses

:09:23. > :09:31.still in the top ten. Michael Schumacher is ahead of Rosberg.

:09:31. > :09:38.Rest Berg is 14th. But dropped some time at the start of the race.

:09:38. > :09:45.Button standing beside his car in the run off area. Disappointing.

:09:45. > :09:49.Not only is he out of race, but Rosberg as well. That is two

:09:49. > :09:54.retirements in two race. He had gone through the year without any

:09:54. > :09:58.retirements. Kobayashi in the pits. Delay getting him going, but he

:09:58. > :10:05.does restart. A double disappointment for Jenson Button,

:10:05. > :10:13.not only is he out, but he is the furtherest distance from the pits.

:10:13. > :10:18.Sebastian Vettel from Mark Webber, Fernando Alonso in third. Sergio

:10:18. > :10:23.Perez has got up into ninth place, he is the lead car on the soft tyre,

:10:23. > :10:29.that is the hardest of the two compounds. So Sergio Perez will go

:10:29. > :10:35.deeper into the race before they make their pit stop. Paul di Resta

:10:36. > :10:44.is 11th, Senna has started well and is into 12th and he is ahead of

:10:44. > :10:49.Pastor Maldonado. Senna comes from 17th place up into 12th. He needs

:10:49. > :10:55.some strong results. Bruno is a fast driver, but he has been

:10:55. > :10:58.getting out of position in qualtiing -- qualifying. But a good

:10:58. > :11:04.recovery from a bad position. The Mercedes is on the left and it

:11:04. > :11:11.looks like it is difficult for the marshals to recover the car from

:11:11. > :11:16.that position and Nico Rosberg is still in the car. Does he have a

:11:16. > :11:20.negotiation of whether he limps home. It seems Sebastian Vettel

:11:20. > :11:25.hooked up the start well. Lewis Hamilton was going for the gap and

:11:25. > :11:28.as the Red Bulls came together, he had to back out. There was contact

:11:28. > :11:35.between Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg. I think that is probably

:11:35. > :11:40.what then put Nico Rosberg out of position. And great stuff

:11:40. > :11:44.approaching 200mph. You can see the toe, the Lotus comes up the inside.

:11:44. > :11:52.Here is an example with professional drivers managing to

:11:52. > :11:57.mix it and not run into each other. Now on board with Sebastian Vettel.

:11:57. > :12:02.A shudder from the tyres as they vibrate against the tarmac and he

:12:02. > :12:08.is beside Mark Webber and runs the car out to the artificial grass and

:12:08. > :12:12.then he is in the position to watch his mirrors. Mark came out of slip

:12:12. > :12:18.stream. Here is Fernando Alonso. Again you hear that shudder as the

:12:18. > :12:21.tyres vibrate and he backs out early to watch what is going on.

:12:21. > :12:27.Gets inside of Lewis Hamilton and Lewis Hamilton sensibly leaves the

:12:27. > :12:31.gap open. And tries to ride it out on the long run down the back

:12:32. > :12:38.straight. You can see his front plate came into vision. And with

:12:38. > :12:43.Sergio Perez, where did he gain the places? He is inside of Michael

:12:43. > :12:48.Schumacher and my goodness, oh he did come in contact with the back

:12:48. > :12:53.of the Force India. You can see his nose, he clipped the back of Button.

:12:53. > :12:58.Not only has he had a tap from the Sauber, hopefully we see the

:12:58. > :13:01.contact as they run into turn three from Kobayashi. He has a sauber

:13:01. > :13:08.sandwich. He is the paste in there. And Kobayashi clips him with his

:13:08. > :13:12.front wing and thinks, that is enough -- not enough, I will hit

:13:12. > :13:18.him again. Contrasting stiels between those with experience and

:13:18. > :13:23.those with less experience. -- styles. There is Kobayashi, he

:13:23. > :13:28.bounces off the side of Rosberg and then into the side of Jenson Button.

:13:28. > :13:34.And he has burst the radiator. That is why they have packed the car. If

:13:35. > :13:42.you wondered what the inside of a Pirelli tyre looks like, well it

:13:42. > :13:47.ain't pretty. It is the sort of thing that Romain Grosjean has been

:13:47. > :13:50.penalised for this year. He got away with it, be he did tag the

:13:50. > :13:54.back of the McLaren and the Ferraris. That has been frowned

:13:54. > :13:57.upon at the start of a race. They don't ever practice that off the

:13:58. > :14:02.grid into the first corner. Whel they may practice it this time last

:14:02. > :14:06.year. But one time a year to practice that moment on full tanks.

:14:06. > :14:09.In terms of who has gained what, Sebastian Vettel has gained one

:14:09. > :14:14.position, Mark Webber down one. Felipe Massa has gained one place.

:14:14. > :14:19.There has only been a little change among the top once, except for

:14:19. > :14:24.Sergio Perez, who gained three places. Five places gained by

:14:24. > :14:33.Felipe Massa. We're on board with Verne Verne. He gained two places

:14:33. > :14:38.and his -- Jean-Eric Vergne, he has gained two places. Up front it is

:14:38. > :14:42.the Red Bulls, and the Ferraris. Nico Hulkenberg is in seventh and

:14:42. > :14:46.then Romain Grosjean. You can see that Mercedes parked up on the left

:14:46. > :14:56.hand side of the picture. Is that Paul di Resta getting down the

:14:56. > :14:59.inside of Ayrton Senna? -- Bruno Senna. You can see the cars behind,

:15:00. > :15:04.and Jean-Eric Vergne coming out of slip stream of Pastor Maldonado and

:15:04. > :15:10.he has Daniel Ricciardo behind him. This is into the tight turn four

:15:10. > :15:17.and he has to run wide and allows his team mate, having a snip up the

:15:17. > :15:23.inside. Doesn't work on this lap. The two Toro Rossos running

:15:23. > :15:29.together. Daniel Ricciardo has been in the points a couple of times

:15:29. > :15:33.recently, but lies behind him and Jean-Eric Vergne ran too wide and

:15:33. > :15:40.Daniel Ricciardo couldn't take advantage. Jean-Eric Vergne got up

:15:40. > :15:50.high on the kerb and had a puff of tust as he put his right side tyres

:15:50. > :16:13.

:16:13. > :16:21.on to the grass. -- puff of dust. this race. You are watching the two

:16:21. > :16:24.Toro Rossos as they come back past the pits. Looking at Bruno Vettel,

:16:24. > :16:34.he was out of the first part of qualifying, which means he has

:16:34. > :16:43.

:16:43. > :16:53.plenty of new tyres available. do call that the sausage kerb, we

:16:53. > :16:57.

:16:57. > :17:07.have debated that before. Get in the message across to the team that

:17:07. > :17:36.

:17:36. > :17:44.currently. 5 lap macros have been completed. We are on to lap six now.

:17:44. > :17:49.Vergne fastest in the first sector, Rosberg and Button both walking

:17:49. > :17:52.back to the pits, just discussing what has been going on so far.

:17:52. > :18:02.Neither of them too impressed, they've kept their crash helmets on.

:18:02. > :18:09.

:18:09. > :18:12.I think the danger is over now, moment. It is in that area but you

:18:12. > :18:22.are not allowed to use it because there are yellow flags in the DRS

:18:22. > :18:28.

:18:28. > :18:33.Perez, a pretty good start for him. Just watching Maldonado and berne

:18:33. > :18:37.macro. It could help Perez that he is the lead car on that harder tyre.

:18:37. > :18:46.It could help him. The one thing hurting him is not been able to use

:18:46. > :18:50.that DRS. He is close enough to Grosjean. During this little period,

:18:51. > :19:00.the tyres will be graining a little bit. They won't be as quick as they

:19:01. > :19:06.

:19:06. > :19:12.with that car. He struggled yesterday in qualifying. Vergne

:19:12. > :19:22.pulled off a good move there. was nicely done. Maldonado has

:19:22. > :19:23.

:19:23. > :19:27.another little look at Ricciardo. Up front, we can see it that yellow

:19:28. > :19:32.flags sewn, Mark Webber is keeping Sebastian Vettel honest. You can

:19:32. > :19:42.see some debris from that first lap incident lying on the track in that

:19:42. > :19:59.

:19:59. > :20:04.chased by Philippe Massa. Massa was able to convert good pace into a

:20:04. > :20:09.passing manoeuvre at the start in Japan, in the first pit stop in

:20:09. > :20:19.Japan. We've got news that Kobayashi has got a drive-through

:20:19. > :20:30.

:20:30. > :20:34.penalty. That is what took Jenson Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg.

:20:34. > :20:38.Rosberg has gone out effectively on the first lap after getting through

:20:38. > :20:42.the whole year without any non finishers at talk. Mercedes adding

:20:42. > :20:45.another to their tally. I think they've had more none Finishers,

:20:45. > :20:51.whether it is mechanical or accident related, than any other

:20:51. > :21:00.team now, including HRT. It's not been a great season for Mercedes in

:21:00. > :21:10.terms of finishing races. Raikkonen still holding on to sixth place.

:21:10. > :21:17.

:21:17. > :21:27.told he's in the safety car window. If the safety car came out now, he

:21:27. > :21:43.

:21:43. > :21:48.should be prepared to to home for Constantine work that goes on. It's

:21:48. > :21:51.not just what happens when they come in for the pit stop. I and

:21:51. > :21:55.they are moving that car, so the yellow flags are staying out there.

:21:55. > :22:05.Hopefully once they've got that car moved out of the way, then they

:22:05. > :22:11.

:22:11. > :22:18.should be able to use the DRS in Williams. The Toro Rossos are suing

:22:18. > :22:21.-- are showing good pace here. is a strategic decision, Ricciardo

:22:21. > :22:31.takes another little sniff as well. A very different style at the

:22:31. > :22:42.

:22:42. > :22:49.flag zone. It's about time you move and being able to pass as you come

:22:49. > :22:58.out of the yellow zone. Not only do they have the flags, but on their

:22:58. > :23:08.dashboard they have a lighting system. The DRS is now enabled,

:23:08. > :23:22.

:23:22. > :23:32.which would suggest those yellow Petrova is 17. Timo Glock is an

:23:32. > :23:40.

:23:41. > :23:44.hero to zero, third place in Japan to being penalised for causing an

:23:44. > :23:49.accident in the start of the Korean Grand Prix. It all changes once

:23:49. > :23:54.again. Ricciardo, look at the straight line speed advantage with

:23:54. > :24:01.DRS as well. There was nothing that Senna could do about that. On board

:24:01. > :24:09.with Grosjean, and he's catching Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg Singh he's

:24:09. > :24:13.got a lot of understeer or in that Force India. We know from briefings

:24:13. > :24:20.that we've had from the teams that it is blistering on the outside,

:24:20. > :24:27.sorry, the inside of the front right tyre. Grosjean had an

:24:27. > :24:31.advantage at this stage. Gary, it is not just blistering and where

:24:31. > :24:36.that is a problem, there are other issues they have to think about.

:24:36. > :24:41.The graining of the front tyres. He's got to be a bit careful

:24:41. > :24:46.because it will clear up and won't react too much. Whole Bamberg

:24:46. > :24:56.mustn't panic, he's just got to try and hold his place. Raikkonen going

:24:56. > :25:14.

:25:14. > :25:21.and creates its marble, it comes off like a rubber band. If you

:25:21. > :25:26.imagine a rubber band being split in two, it ends up like that. What

:25:27. > :25:31.it does is goes out into the slot gap in the wings, which takes away

:25:31. > :25:41.the efficiency. They get in all sorts of trouble. All of those

:25:41. > :25:47.

:25:47. > :25:57.Webber has just set the fastest lap. 1.9 seconds behind. Let's hear from

:25:57. > :26:03.

:26:03. > :26:12.Lewis Hamilton's team-mate, Jenson attacked by Perez. A thing you

:26:12. > :26:18.might have missed something out there. I got a really good start

:26:18. > :26:25.and was able to get past both Mercedes. I was on the inside of

:26:25. > :26:29.Rosberg. We were braking for the corner and then Sergio brakes

:26:29. > :26:35.really late. He didn't hit me, he hit the car in front of me and

:26:35. > :26:40.broke something of the back of that car. I had to run wide and Push

:26:40. > :26:45.Nico Rosberg off the circuit so we didn't collide. We went down the

:26:45. > :26:51.back straight, it was quite fun. I don't know what happened then, I

:26:51. > :26:57.braked really late. I saw a car climbing over mind on the right-

:26:57. > :27:01.hand side, it was a Sauber. I don't know what was going on. It's pretty

:27:01. > :27:06.disappointing really. This is a long race here and there's so much

:27:06. > :27:10.opportunity here as well with the way the tyres are working. And with

:27:10. > :27:17.the drugs Don't here, it's a great race circuit for overtaking. That

:27:17. > :27:24.is why it is surprising that people are driving like that. Do you still

:27:24. > :27:28.feel you've got a chance for the championship this season? No oak,

:27:28. > :27:33.definitely not. I will enjoy myself over the next few races but points

:27:33. > :27:43.for the team were very important this weekend. It's out of our hands

:27:43. > :27:45.

:27:45. > :27:51.side by side. Vergne is there as well, he's trying to get past both

:27:52. > :27:58.of them in the Toro Rosso. Di Resta was eased out over the curve a

:27:58. > :28:05.moment ago. Look at Vergne. He almost tries to Squeeze through on

:28:05. > :28:15.one of the faster corners and had to back out of it. He would have

:28:15. > :28:20.

:28:20. > :28:26.strategically used KERS coming out to be careful with that, remember

:28:26. > :28:33.what happened to Sebastian Vettel when he did the same sort of thing

:28:33. > :28:38.on Jenson BOP -- Jenson Button in Hockenheim. Paul di Resta has been

:28:38. > :28:44.right with him. We can expect to see more action from the Force

:28:44. > :28:48.India and the Mercedes. Hulkenberg is still in seven. Perez on the

:28:48. > :28:53.harder tyre. What is interesting is he can maintain the pace of these

:28:53. > :28:56.cars ahead of him that are on the slightly softer tyre. But it's very

:28:56. > :29:00.did little difference in lap time this weekend. Quite often we've

:29:01. > :29:04.seen a big chunk of time difference between the soft of the compounds,

:29:05. > :29:10.Grosjean having a little look there, but we do gather that Hulkenberg is

:29:10. > :29:17.going to be coming in at the end of this lap. He will have completed 13

:29:17. > :29:21.laps. Clearly not happy with the way the balance of the car has

:29:22. > :29:27.unfolded on this first set of tyres. He may be struggling a bit with the

:29:27. > :29:31.debris on the front wing as well. This is frustrating for Grosjean.

:29:31. > :29:38.We see a bit of action down the back of the circuit, that is the

:29:38. > :29:42.Toro Rosso trying to find its way past Paul di Resta. They are

:29:42. > :29:46.ganging up a bit because Sene is at the back of the group now as well.

:29:46. > :29:49.We know that Senna has got this problem of little bits of rubber

:29:49. > :29:54.blocking the front wing, which he is hoping will get sorted at the

:29:54. > :29:58.pit stop, which should be coming up soon. We are expecting to see a bit

:29:59. > :30:04.of pit lane action over the next lap also. Vettel continues to lead

:30:04. > :30:08.this race. The Red Bulls are running, one and two, he's just

:30:08. > :30:14.cross the line again and his advantage is four seconds of a Mark

:30:14. > :30:22.Webber. We are expecting some of these midfield groups to go in.

:30:22. > :30:32.Lewis Hamilton has just went for the pits. Lap 14, in and away again.

:30:32. > :30:42.

:30:42. > :30:47.What a rapid stop. They are getting and Nico Hulkenberg only just

:30:47. > :30:52.getting out in front of him. They have both gone on to the harder of

:30:52. > :30:58.the two compound tyres. Romain Grosjean will be in the DRS zone.

:30:58. > :31:08.So it is crucial he gets a good launch out of turn two. Nico

:31:08. > :31:08.

:31:08. > :31:16.Hulkenberg has done a better job in the pits. What I would have

:31:16. > :31:21.expected is you go one lap longer and try and run in clean air and

:31:21. > :31:26.get advantage. Let's see how it looked from the pits. Romain

:31:26. > :31:31.Grosjean was slow in releasing, the team have finished and you may lift

:31:31. > :31:35.your hand and wave in a regal fashion, because they're lined up,

:31:35. > :31:40.there is not an issue of unsafe release as far as I'm concerned.

:31:40. > :31:46.Nico Hulkenberg has raced here in the past. There is the release.

:31:46. > :31:51.Force India lopy pop was up before that... That is quite a good move

:31:51. > :31:54.as Red Bull prepare themselves. Mark Webber is coming in. That

:31:54. > :31:59.means that Sebastian Vettel now leads from Fernando Alonso as we go

:31:59. > :32:04.through this first cycle of pit stops. Away goes Mark Webber. That

:32:04. > :32:09.looked clean. Nico Hulkenberg using his experience, Massa in as well,

:32:09. > :32:13.pit lane exit is a bit strange here and Romain Grosjean has never raced

:32:13. > :32:20.here. Nico Hulkenberg seemed to gain an advantage out of pit lane.

:32:20. > :32:26.Yes, in the strange thing you referred to it is unusual for pit

:32:26. > :32:30.lane to feed into the outside of the line. That dotted line is there

:32:30. > :32:37.for reference, rather than to be followed. Felipe Massa did a good

:32:37. > :32:40.job of maximising his pit out. Sergio Perez is behind Webber. A

:32:40. > :32:44.bit of debris around. Perez ahead of Lewis Hamilton and he hasn't

:32:44. > :32:48.been into the pits yet, Sergio Perez. He is on a different

:32:48. > :32:55.strategy. That will make life interesting. We have got Felipe

:32:55. > :32:57.Massa and Kimi Raikkonen here. And not far behind them we have got the

:32:57. > :33:01.Force India of Paul di Resta. Kobayashi is way down, because he

:33:01. > :33:05.had that problem at the start of the Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel

:33:05. > :33:08.still leads here from Fernando Alonso and the two major

:33:08. > :33:15.Championship contender, neither has come into the pits yet. They are

:33:15. > :33:25.all in that two-stop window. If anyone, who can make it last to one

:33:25. > :33:28.

:33:28. > :33:33.stop. Xbox 360 box. Quaul q -- full quant and box. Everything going to

:33:33. > :33:37.plan for Red Bull? Yes it is about covering your team mate here.

:33:37. > :33:43.Sebastian Vettel out of pits after Mark Webber. They're all going on

:33:43. > :33:51.to the harder tyre and they will get nor durability. Fernando Alonso,

:33:51. > :33:56.where will he come out in record to - o' -- regard to Mark Webber?

:33:56. > :33:59.Let's see Webber coming past us already. There is Webber and

:33:59. > :34:04.Fernando Alonso still coming down the pit lane. But Sergio Perez will

:34:04. > :34:07.be in front of him? This is a battle for position, Fernando

:34:07. > :34:12.Alonso versus Sergio Perez as he joins. A crucial battle. Perez

:34:12. > :34:16.hasn't been into the pits, but he wants to get the place. He has got

:34:16. > :34:21.a slip stream and will try and get past Fernando Alonso down this long

:34:21. > :34:25.straight. He looks across at the Ferrari. The Ferrari has the edge

:34:25. > :34:31.and the Ferrari is on the fresh tyres as well. Lewis Hamilton

:34:31. > :34:36.fancys a bit of this action as well. And Fernando Alonso as has used all

:34:36. > :34:39.his DRS in defending that position. But it looks like it has worked for

:34:39. > :34:42.him. That was important from Ferrari's point of view and Perez

:34:42. > :34:46.makes a mistake and Lewis Hamilton has a chance. Lewis Hamilton goes

:34:46. > :34:50.around the outside of Sergio Perez on the better tyres of course.

:34:50. > :34:55.Mixed emotions for McLaren, on one hand they have their man of the

:34:55. > :35:00.moment one step closer to the podium, but they're seeing

:35:00. > :35:06.inexperience from Perez. Sergio Perez is running this different

:35:06. > :35:11.strategy, we won't see him come in for maybe ten laps. And look at

:35:11. > :35:15.this again. You can can see Fernando Alonso made it stick,

:35:15. > :35:20.Lewis Hamilton almost come nothing inn contact with the back of Perez.

:35:20. > :35:24.You can see Lewis Hamilton a long way back, but on the fresher tyres,

:35:24. > :35:28.turns in, almost makes contact with the back of the Sauber. The reason

:35:28. > :35:33.I mention the inexperience from Perez, he got past on the exit of

:35:33. > :35:39.turn four, he had done the difficult thing and then ran wide

:35:39. > :35:48.on the older tyres. But a bit sloppy to lose the position on the

:35:48. > :35:54.exit of the turn. Meanwhile, Kobayashi. Kobayashi moving out of

:35:54. > :35:58.the way. Getting out of way of the blue flags, being very fair. I

:35:58. > :36:04.think he realises he is out of this one. It is a test session, rather

:36:04. > :36:08.than a run for points. Mark Webber leads, Sebastian Vettel is in

:36:08. > :36:15.second. Lewis Hamilton looks good on this second set of tyres and

:36:15. > :36:19.Felipe Massa looks good, he is trying to get pa past -- past Perez.

:36:19. > :36:23.Gary, a thought about Sergio Perez, he has to look after these tyres,

:36:23. > :36:28.he can't afford to engage in too much hard dicing, because the tyres

:36:28. > :36:33.have got to last longer. Yes he can't afford to lock them up. He

:36:33. > :36:39.has got to try and run as best he can and try and pick up positions

:36:39. > :36:44.later in the race. Its all about just driving within the car and

:36:44. > :36:48.doing the best job possible and wait for later. So patience

:36:49. > :36:55.required from Sergio Perez. He has Kimi Raikkonen bearing down on him

:36:55. > :37:02.now. Kimi Raikkonen runs seventh. Pastor Maldonado has not come in to

:37:02. > :37:07.the pits yet, despite being on the soup soft tyre. So Pastor Maldonado

:37:07. > :37:11.is running in eighth place, but has not yet been in to the pits and so

:37:11. > :37:16.far. So we will see in Williams are running a different strategy. We

:37:17. > :37:22.are on board here with Kimi Raikkonen. That is what it looks

:37:22. > :37:26.like when you're up a gear box of a car. He is stealing down force from

:37:26. > :37:32.your front wing. He is quicker at this phase, with a different tyre

:37:32. > :37:38.strategy. He will try and get as close as can he - o' he can at turn

:37:38. > :37:43.17. He will be positioned to make a straight forward DRS pass. He is

:37:43. > :37:47.within the activation zone, he is within a second. He needs to be

:37:47. > :37:52.tight. Turn two is just a turning feature, they don't need to load

:37:52. > :37:56.the car much, DRS open and don't expect too much resistance with the

:37:56. > :38:03.overspeed. It is straight forward for Kimi Raikkonen, who overtakes

:38:03. > :38:09.Sergio Perez and moves into sixth. Perez doing his best to stay with

:38:09. > :38:19.these guys, with a decent tyre on the car. He team mate looks like he

:38:19. > :38:20.

:38:21. > :38:30.may be retiring, Kobayashi's car is being pushed back into the garage.

:38:31. > :38:37.

:38:37. > :38:41.And deRosa's car as well. That is his 1 ununth race. Look at this,

:38:41. > :38:45.this Kimi Raikkonen pass is straight forward. Sergio Perez

:38:45. > :38:51.moved to the right to defend, but he knew the difference in speed and

:38:51. > :39:00.tyres. Very little you can do and here you either, it is the same

:39:00. > :39:08.thing a lap later. It happened late in the break zone, but the fresher

:39:08. > :39:14.tyres. He will lose not one here. Because here comes Massa. That is a

:39:14. > :39:20.replay of the in car shot. What is interesting, this is where the fans

:39:20. > :39:25.are mixed. Some fans, as we see a Sauber pit stop for Perez. He has

:39:25. > :39:31.not made it as long as Gary would have thought from before. So does

:39:31. > :39:36.that mean we're going to see him not being able to make a one stop.

:39:36. > :39:40.Gary? Yes I think he will do it now. In reality he was slower than

:39:40. > :39:42.Michael Schumacher and if he didn't pit now, he would be behind Michael

:39:42. > :39:50.Schumacher so they're doing the right thing and will have to

:39:50. > :39:55.convert to a two-stop. He has got to try and push for these laps.

:39:56. > :40:00.are looking at Pastor Maldonado, he is being passed by Huck for eighth.

:40:00. > :40:05.What do you reckon on his strategy, he is on the soup soft and going a

:40:05. > :40:12.long way on them. Yes, but he is well a uf the pace. The guys him

:40:12. > :40:17.are doing 44s and 45s. So he is losing a lot of time and a pit stop

:40:17. > :40:25.here is 20 seconds. So you don't have to do o' too many lap before

:40:25. > :40:30.it pace back. I think Perez has done the right thing. Tyres are not

:40:30. > :40:34.going to last, says Lewis Hamilton. As we see Pastor Maldonado about to

:40:34. > :40:38.lose this place to Romain Grosjean I think. This is costing Romain

:40:38. > :40:42.Grosjean time and difficult to understand what Williams are

:40:42. > :40:49.thinking, a normal pit stop can take you about 20 seconds of race

:40:49. > :40:53.time and that will put him out behind Bruno Senna who is in 15th.

:40:53. > :40:57.He will be well in front of Heikki Kovalinan, but Williams not sure

:40:57. > :41:02.how they think this strategy is going to play out. Unless some act

:41:02. > :41:07.of safety car incident or accident which can change the face of the

:41:07. > :41:12.race. Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean both feisty racers and

:41:12. > :41:17.Pastor Maldonado doing his utmost, but he is defending fairly. He ran

:41:17. > :41:20.very wide on to the dirty stuff and managed to hold on to it. So he is

:41:20. > :41:27.going for another lap.Less obviously, they have got themselves,

:41:27. > :41:33.we are into a one-stop. But it is costing him time. The last lap time

:41:33. > :41:37.of 49.0 and Nico Hulkenberg just did a 45. So four seconds a lap

:41:37. > :41:40.slower. Surely Romain Grosjean will use the DRS to overtake Pastor

:41:40. > :41:43.Maldonado. Pastor Maldonado holds the middle of the road and Romain

:41:43. > :41:48.Grosjean gets through. But it has cost Romain Grosjean that four

:41:48. > :41:53.seconds or so, because that is what it took him to get past, a whole

:41:53. > :42:00.lap. Now, he can get on wit and go chasing after Nico Hulkenberg again.

:42:00. > :42:04.You're watching Lewis Hamilton. Down force. What was that a loss of

:42:04. > :42:10.down force? Do you think he has the same problem with bits of rubber

:42:10. > :42:14.getting stuck in a wing. I couldn't hear. I did hear down force. But no

:42:14. > :42:19.point asking for more down force he ain't going to get it. It look like

:42:19. > :42:26.he is looking down in his cockpit and making adjustment. Burr he is

:42:26. > :42:31.under pressure now from Felipe Massa and mes dropping back. -- he

:42:31. > :42:34.is dropping back. Does he have an issue? Clearly he has an issue. He

:42:34. > :42:39.is not going as quickly as the cars around him. There is something

:42:39. > :42:43.going on here for Lewis Hamilton. No doubt about it. But is he going

:42:43. > :42:48.to be able to resolve it in some way or another? Stays in front of

:42:48. > :42:53.Felipe Massa for the moment as they come across the line. Vet have the

:42:53. > :43:02.still leads from Mark Webber. -- Sebastian Vettel. Felipe Massa is

:43:02. > :43:06.having a better end to if season -- end to the season. You will see his

:43:06. > :43:12.DRS pop 07, Lewis Hamilton isn't doing much to defend. What can you

:43:12. > :43:16.do when somebody is faster. Lewis Hamilton losing performance from

:43:16. > :43:22.the McLaren for whatever reason. He is saying he has lost front down

:43:22. > :43:29.force and he is struggling. Gary what are you Psy seeing? There is

:43:29. > :43:36.talk of rubber going into the wing. The slot between each of the flap

:43:36. > :43:42.sections on the wing, the high speed there is high, any bits of

:43:42. > :43:46.rubber around get sucked in and that gets blocked and then the

:43:46. > :43:49.airflow can't stay attached and it separates. The wing loses

:43:49. > :43:53.performance. So it is a critical situation to get rub spwor that

:43:53. > :43:58.slot gap. That is what they have to clear out during the pit stop.

:43:58. > :44:02.that is the problem, it is having a big effect. Felipe Massa was able

:44:02. > :44:06.to blast past him and we have two Ferraris in the top four, two Red

:44:06. > :44:09.Bulls and two Ferraris. Red Bull one and two, Ferrari three and four

:44:09. > :44:16.and there was the reaction as Felipe Massa got past Lewis

:44:16. > :44:20.Hamilton. The smile on Rob Smedley's face, things are getting

:44:20. > :44:23.better for that half of the Ferrari garage. If we believe the rumours

:44:23. > :44:27.there will be an announcement confirming that he is continuing at

:44:27. > :44:35.Ferrari. You wonder whether having had the conversations earlier in

:44:35. > :44:41.the season, would it release some performance. Good lap, that is a

:44:41. > :44:44.good pass. Pull away from him down. I'm sure it is his grading.

:44:44. > :44:47.Smedley saying I'm sure it just graining. He thinks that Lewis

:44:47. > :44:52.Hamilton's loss of performance is not necessary lay problem with the

:44:52. > :44:56.car, but his front tyres are graining and losing performance.

:44:56. > :44:59.But they will come back. Interestingly I would have thought

:44:59. > :45:03.Lewis Hamilton would know the difference in feel between a

:45:03. > :45:09.graining tyre when you feel the front washing across the surface

:45:09. > :45:13.and a loss of down force. My experience is you would know the

:45:13. > :45:18.difference between the to. You can see the grange. It does look like

:45:18. > :45:28.his front right in the middle of the tyre. You can see the

:45:28. > :45:48.

:45:48. > :45:58.on the last lap, but Alonso is place. Running this new exhaust

:45:58. > :46:12.

:46:12. > :46:18.system on the card to create more at his tyres, they are fairly clean

:46:18. > :46:22.at this stage. Looking a lot cleaner than what we saw from

:46:22. > :46:32.Hamilton's tyre. I'm interested in seeing the difference in

:46:32. > :46:32.

:46:33. > :46:39.performance between Raikkonen... Mechanical balance changed, that

:46:39. > :46:49.was from the team radio. These cars are none adjustable mechanically.

:46:49. > :46:55.

:46:55. > :47:01.the outside. He wasn't able to do it. Hamilton will fight where he

:47:01. > :47:11.can, and he certainly did keep fighting there. He is a racer and

:47:11. > :47:16.

:47:16. > :47:22.car mechanically, it will be interesting to know from Gary what

:47:22. > :47:32.that might be. Off the top of my head, they would no if there was an

:47:32. > :47:32.

:47:33. > :47:41.issue with the death, -- it meant effectively the role balance went

:47:41. > :47:45.out and it was tricky to drive. Eventually the engine blew up.

:47:45. > :47:55.I probably think you can think of a million ways a car can go wrong.

:47:55. > :48:07.

:48:07. > :48:11.off of Kimi Raikkonen. Raikkonen had the DRS and higher top speed,

:48:11. > :48:16.but when it came to the braking zone the car seemed to be all right.

:48:16. > :48:20.Raikkonen chose to go to the outside, which was always going to

:48:20. > :48:25.be the more difficult place to overtake. We saw that in Bahrain,

:48:25. > :48:28.when he had the opportunity to pass Vettel. Kimi Raikkonen has been

:48:28. > :48:33.impressive on his return, he's lying third in the championship,

:48:33. > :48:39.but he doesn't take any chances. Going to the outside again, does he

:48:39. > :48:44.have the momentum? He does. Raikkonen had the edge into the

:48:44. > :48:48.corner. He is now up into fifth position, although he's now got the

:48:48. > :48:53.slipstream coming up to the next corner. Hamilton Reid takes the

:48:53. > :48:57.place, or does he? Raikkonen is trying to go around the outside.

:48:57. > :49:02.That was maybe a little bit naughty. That was definitely off the normal

:49:02. > :49:06.racing line. Aggressive stuff from Lewis Hamilton. He did this with

:49:06. > :49:11.Mark Webber last year. He managed to fend off Mark Webber for second

:49:11. > :49:14.place. At the moment he is dancing for fifth. They are both racers,

:49:14. > :49:18.they will both always go for whatever they can get out of the

:49:19. > :49:27.situation, and that is what Hamilton is doing. You can see

:49:27. > :49:35.Hamilton not -- locking up again. They are running two seconds a lap

:49:35. > :49:43.slower than Massa in front. It looks almost inevitable, as you see

:49:43. > :49:47.a replay... He gets the inside and then just runs the car wide,

:49:47. > :49:51.forcing Raikkonen to lift out. Raikkonen goes defensive but not

:49:51. > :49:55.really enough to stop Lewis Hamilton carrying that momentum.

:49:55. > :49:59.Raikkonen has been very cautious in wheel-to-wheel combat. He has

:50:00. > :50:05.played into his hands, he is lying third into the championship at this

:50:05. > :50:08.stage, but you wonder if he would just unleash a little bit of a in a

:50:08. > :50:18.Lewis Hamilton, would he have taken the Victory in Bahrain and would he

:50:18. > :50:25.

:50:25. > :50:29.slightly up front. That gap back to Alonso, 1.3 seconds. Raikkonen that

:50:29. > :50:39.time wasn't able to close the gap at as much, or is he trying to time

:50:39. > :50:48.

:50:48. > :50:51.it to overtake at the end of this track on which to overtake here.

:50:51. > :50:56.Raikkonen is likely to be stuck there for another lap. He will

:50:56. > :51:02.eventually get past, I would suggest. There's plenty of time

:51:02. > :51:10.behind Hulkenberg. But all the time the gap to Massa, it's now up to

:51:10. > :51:14.seven seconds between Hamilton and Massa. Right front, that is that

:51:14. > :51:19.tyre that takes the worst of the pounding. Mark Webber has lost a

:51:19. > :51:25.little bit of performance. Webber has put in a good middle sector,

:51:25. > :51:29.despite that little problem. Vettel is definitely the fastest. He's got

:51:29. > :51:34.an eight. Three-second advantage. He looks at taking another victory

:51:34. > :51:39.to add to his little run of wins, to take the championship lead if we

:51:39. > :51:45.can stay where he is now. Vergne attacking Schumacher. It looks like

:51:45. > :51:55.he completed the move. That was for tenth place. Used the DRS zone very

:51:55. > :51:59.

:51:59. > :52:05.effectively. The Frenchman is back wing at the next pit stop. He's

:52:05. > :52:08.suffering a bit of an dustier. Raikkonen is again forced to the

:52:08. > :52:14.outside. He will try and do the cutback, which means he will get

:52:14. > :52:19.the car up straighter, release a bit of the curbs. It doesn't look

:52:19. > :52:23.like the McLaren is struggling for traction. He is using his strength

:52:24. > :52:29.very well to defend that position. Another lock-up again in to turn

:52:29. > :52:39.for. Raikkonen on the better line out of four into five. There isn't

:52:39. > :52:47.

:52:47. > :52:53.Jenson Button in the early part of Jenson Button said, what an idiot,

:52:53. > :52:57.when you hit him. Tell us about it from your seat? I had a foreground

:52:57. > :53:05.straight. We were fighting for positioning. That was pretty

:53:05. > :53:11.difficult not to hit the brake. I was waiting for someone to brake

:53:12. > :53:20.but I had to brake really hard. My car some when touched. I hit

:53:20. > :53:25.everybody. Unfortunately, it was a bit too tight on the straight. For

:53:25. > :53:29.me, it was very difficult at Bad point. I don't crash, of course,

:53:29. > :53:39.but we were fighting for foreground straight to get position. That was

:53:39. > :53:42.

:53:42. > :53:48.lane, so Raikkonen is released at last. He had a problem on the right

:53:48. > :53:51.front. He has stayed on the heart of the two compounds of tyres. A

:53:51. > :54:01.straightforward two-stop strategy by McLaren starting on the super

:54:01. > :54:03.

:54:04. > :54:08.soft and then going on the soft but are now coming together for him.

:54:08. > :54:15.But Sebastian Vettel has just set the fastest lap of this race. It's

:54:15. > :54:19.an early stage to make that second stop, Bury. It is. I'm not sure the

:54:19. > :54:23.tyres will last that amount of time. The where rate is very high on the

:54:23. > :54:28.right front. I didn't see the pit stop so why not sure if they found

:54:28. > :54:38.any rubber. It's a long way to go to the end of this race so he might

:54:38. > :54:42.been through a heat cycle may improve their fortunes. As Gary

:54:42. > :54:49.mentioned, I didn't see any one clearing out any slot back so

:54:49. > :54:59.making any front wing adjustment. little front wing adjustment but

:54:59. > :55:09.

:55:09. > :55:13.is going on now. If they were to finish where they are now, Vettel

:55:13. > :55:20.would indeed take the lead in that Drivers' Championship. It would be

:55:20. > :55:24.the first time since Valencia, where Fernando Alonso retook the

:55:24. > :55:30.championship lead. We will see what happens, there still a bit of a way

:55:30. > :55:40.to go here. Alonso is in third place. He's just 1.8 seconds behind

:55:40. > :55:41.

:55:41. > :55:44.Mark Webber. Massa is in fourth place, Raikkonen in fifth. Lewis

:55:44. > :55:49.Hamilton isn't having a good day. Whatever they are doing, it's not

:55:49. > :55:53.quite working. He said he is getting very nervous. Hulkenberg is

:55:53. > :56:03.in 6th, Grosjean is in 7th. Hamilton has now won eighth, having

:56:03. > :56:20.

:56:20. > :56:28.made his second stop, but it's an Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg on

:56:28. > :56:38.lap 1. Since then, we've lost Kobayashi and DLA Rosa with

:56:38. > :56:41.

:56:41. > :56:51.right, he's managed to address that. He could have done it with great

:56:51. > :56:55.

:56:55. > :57:00.balance adjustment. There is the fastest lap bow macro. Vettel has

:57:00. > :57:03.an 8.5 second advantage over his team-mate. The two Ferraris running

:57:03. > :57:09.close behind. It's no doubt that the Red Bull team have found

:57:09. > :57:14.something to give these cars some extra performance. That complicated

:57:14. > :57:19.front wing arrangement. You can see how it flexors a bit as it goes

:57:19. > :57:23.over the kerb. You can also see the daylight and at the front right. At

:57:23. > :57:28.certain points these cars are effectively three-wheelers. But did

:57:28. > :57:38.you see the debris on the front wing. It was carrying some shards

:57:38. > :57:46.

:57:46. > :57:49.of rubber. That might affect his nose clean in the early stages of

:57:49. > :57:59.this race, but he's got a car that is feeling quite competitive at

:57:59. > :58:05.

:58:05. > :58:08.-- he's done his second stop. All of those around him will have to

:58:09. > :58:12.stop a second time. It doesn't sound as though Hamilton is

:58:12. > :58:16.particularly happy with the way things have been going. It sounds a

:58:16. > :58:19.bit like they've got a handful of straws in their hand darned are

:58:19. > :58:24.trying to clutch at something. Telling him he's doing a great job

:58:24. > :58:28.pulling away from Ricciardo is not really what he's tuned in for. He's

:58:28. > :58:33.not really expecting to be battling with the Toro Rosso. Clearly an

:58:33. > :58:37.issue on that car which has meaning there Plan B, they entered this

:58:37. > :58:47.race believing they could win it, and right now he is 46 seconds

:58:47. > :59:00.

:59:00. > :59:10.behind the race leader. A new fast zone at the end of this section.

:59:10. > :59:16.

:59:16. > :59:23.They are into the Detection so much Lotus, but has it got the speed up

:59:23. > :59:28.against the Force India? No chance to get past. He fails to make the

:59:28. > :59:33.move. Grosjean, I would have expected he would have saved some

:59:33. > :59:38.of his KERS for the run-down in to turn four. He felt the need to

:59:38. > :59:48.throw everything in. He didn't leave himself with anything coming

:59:48. > :00:10.

:00:10. > :00:20.leaders to come in for their second against Renault power, no extra 80

:00:20. > :00:48.

:00:48. > :00:53.trying to gap, they're looking at where, when they bring him in for

:00:53. > :00:58.his second stop whether he will be in traffic or he will be in clean

:00:58. > :01:04.air. They want to feigned that window, when he loses around 20

:01:04. > :01:10.seconds on track that, would put him around the shufplt, Sergio

:01:10. > :01:15.Perez battle. -- Michael Schumacher. So when you get the fresher tyres

:01:15. > :01:21.it is important to get some claen air to reap the benefits of the lap

:01:21. > :01:24.time. -- clean air. When the pit stops take place it can change. It

:01:24. > :01:30.is about track position for Nico Hulkenberg at the moment. Lewis

:01:30. > :01:38.Hamilton is in eighth, Daniel Ricciardo is in ninth. Michael

:01:38. > :01:47.Schumacher is 11th and Sergio Perez, Senna and Pastor Maldonado are 13th

:01:47. > :01:51.and 14th. Paul di Resta is down in 15th. I think Paul di Resta is

:01:51. > :01:55.dicing with Pastor Maldonado. We will keep an eye on that. There is

:01:55. > :02:00.a race between Paul di Resta and Pastor Maldonado, but it is way

:02:00. > :02:06.outside the point. Think is Nico Hulkenberg versus Romain Grosjean

:02:06. > :02:11.and Paul di Resta has made his second stop now. Just to show the

:02:11. > :02:17.difficulty the McLaren is having with Lewis Hamilton. He stopped at

:02:17. > :02:21.lap 26 for his second stop. No other man has done two stops, apart

:02:21. > :02:26.from Paul di Resta. If we get to the end of this set, you're

:02:26. > :02:31.fighting for sixth. Look after the fronts. They're going to have to

:02:31. > :02:34.make another stop interestingly enough. So a real fight on Lewis

:02:34. > :02:41.Hamilton's hands here. Romain Grosjean into the pits then. They

:02:41. > :02:45.will hope to make it to the end on these yellow-marked soft tyres as

:02:45. > :02:49.Romain Grosjean rejoins the fray. Michael Schumacher coming down the

:02:49. > :02:54.main straight there. Michael Schumacher still to make his second

:02:54. > :02:58.stop. So this will settle down once everyone has made a second pit stop.

:02:59. > :03:02.This was Paul di Resta versus Pastor Maldonado a moment ago. Paul

:03:02. > :03:07.di Resta had been in for his second stop and tried to go around the

:03:07. > :03:13.outside of the Williams. But they had good speed off the corner.

:03:13. > :03:20.Again didn't make it work on the way in, but probably had some KERS,

:03:20. > :03:24.we're not getting the graphic. Paul takes the apex. So Paul di Resta

:03:24. > :03:29.trying to climb back up once he has had that second pit stop. Sebastian

:03:29. > :03:36.Vettel lead by 8.3 seconds from Mark Webber. Mark Webber acting as

:03:36. > :03:44.a useful buffer, but Mark Webber is coming in. Timo Glock was in ahead

:03:44. > :03:51.of him. Mark Webber stops in his slot and stays on those yellow-

:03:51. > :03:56.marked soft tyres. Away he goes again. So Red Bull bring Webber in

:03:56. > :04:06.first, presumably Vettel win come in within the next lap or so. Glock

:04:06. > :04:14.

:04:14. > :04:23.gets going again. Mark Webber has got some space. He shouldn't lose

:04:23. > :04:27.too much time. What was a good reminder of the constructor's

:04:27. > :04:32.Championship, their at the top of the pit lane and the other teams

:04:32. > :04:38.have to go around the previous team. You see a chunk of oversteer there

:04:38. > :04:42.from Fernando Alonso. A cection mid corner, I don't think it led to any

:04:43. > :04:47.problems, his last lap was 1.44.3. That was a tenth quicker than

:04:47. > :04:52.Sebastian Vettel's time. There is the comparison, Felipe Massa has

:04:52. > :04:57.been quicker than Fernando Alonso. Felipe Massa has closed the gap.

:04:57. > :05:01.Here is Nico Hulkenberg and Romain Grosjean, Romain Grosjean is on the

:05:01. > :05:05.inside and gets the place on this occasion. Well he will be happy,

:05:05. > :05:08.Nico Hulkenberg had just come out of pits. So they have both made

:05:08. > :05:13.their second stop. They were the other way around and were dicing

:05:13. > :05:18.hard before the pit stop. That was a crucial move for Romain Grosjean.

:05:18. > :05:23.Good stuff. Took him a couple of laps, maybe being on the cautious

:05:23. > :05:33.side, but understandably. There has not been an issue with his wheel to

:05:33. > :05:33.

:05:33. > :05:40.whale races when it is one o' on -- one-on-one. It depends on pit stop.

:05:40. > :05:46.Here is another look. He got to the inside and Nico Hulkenberg tried to

:05:46. > :05:50.run it on the outsite -- outside. But Nico Hulkenberg able to pull

:05:50. > :05:57.the pace down into the brake zone, but Romain Grosjean uses the inside

:05:57. > :06:02.line 5 takes it all the way out to the kerb and forces the Force India

:06:02. > :06:07.to lift off. A goose good move from Romain Grosjean and that will give

:06:07. > :06:10.him confidence. He will be looking for a good solid finish. He will be

:06:10. > :06:16.chase down Jean-Eric Vergne. Ferraris running close to each

:06:16. > :06:21.other. Fernando Alonso ahead of Felipe Massa. This resurgence in

:06:21. > :06:25.form from Felipe Massa very welcome for the Ferrari team. This will

:06:25. > :06:30.mean useful constructors' points. They are third in the Championship,

:06:30. > :06:34.ahead of Lotus. Lotus have cars behind them. Kimi Raikkonen is in

:06:34. > :06:39.fourth and Romain Grosjean gaining a place and setting fastest lap.

:06:39. > :06:44.Romain Grosjean has done 1.4.5. The lap pace between Sebastian Vettel

:06:44. > :06:49.and Fernando Alonso sees Fernando Alonso being faster over these last

:06:49. > :06:52.few laps, but there is a ten second gap between Sebastian Vettel and

:06:52. > :06:56.Fernando Alonso. So Sebastian Vettel has this one. He is just

:06:56. > :07:00.controlling the pace and we're still waiting for him to make his

:07:00. > :07:05.second stop. We have a car coming in the pits, I have just seen a car

:07:05. > :07:11.going on the grass. I can't tell who it was. I think it was Heikki

:07:11. > :07:18.Kovalinan. I believe they had recovered the situation. But that

:07:18. > :07:28.is a difficult pit in. We have seen that for Petrov when he is driving

:07:28. > :07:30.

:07:30. > :07:36.for Reno. -- Rennes no. -- Renault. I don't know where he is going to

:07:37. > :07:42.rejoin. With Timo Glock I think. He should be able to get past as they

:07:42. > :07:45.come down the DRS zone. Kimi Raikkonen has stie stayed out there.

:07:45. > :07:51.Mark Webber is behind Kimi Raikkonen, but we will see Reich

:07:51. > :07:56.rake back in the pits soon. -- Kimi Raikkonen back in the pits soon. So

:07:56. > :07:59.things are unchanged up front and we should look at Sebastian Vettel,

:07:59. > :08:04.Mark Webber and then Fernando Alonso. Sebastian Vettel, I wonder

:08:04. > :08:11.what this snis a lock up. A massive lock up on that front right. Going

:08:11. > :08:17.very wide and we have heard. Box, box, box, we're rdy. We heard he

:08:17. > :08:21.had been told to be careful on that lock up on that front right. It is

:08:21. > :08:30.the incident you were calling. is a different one I think. That is

:08:30. > :08:35.Romain Grosjean going across the grass. He goes wide and tries to

:08:35. > :08:41.avoid the orange sausage kerb. Tpwhau will have picked up a lot of

:08:41. > :08:46.debris. In comes Sebastian Vettel. That was the area I saw a car go

:08:46. > :08:51.off was to the left. But it came back in again. So Sebastian Vettel

:08:51. > :08:55.into his pit box. And again it is the soft tyre going on. Gary, again

:08:56. > :09:00.it is blockwork stuff from Red Bull? Yes and that is what you have

:09:00. > :09:05.to do at the top end of this grid. You have to make it happen all of

:09:05. > :09:15.the time. McLaren go for that tenth of a second faster. We get some

:09:15. > :09:19.

:09:19. > :09:23.errors. To be consistent they want Pic on. They were close. 3.6 second

:09:23. > :09:28.stop for Massa. Kimi Raikkonen makes his second stop. That should

:09:28. > :09:36.be comfortable to go to the end of race. Massa did come out behind

:09:36. > :09:39.Fernando Alonso. 3.9 second zop for Lotus. -- stop for Lotus. There is

:09:39. > :09:47.Lewis Hamilton who made his second stop, but he is struggling out

:09:48. > :09:53.there in term of pace. And interestingly his last lap a 1

:09:53. > :10:00.hadn't 44.and Jean-Eric Vergne a 1.44.7. So lapping at the same pace

:10:00. > :10:04.as the Toro Rosso. So Jean-Eric Vergne will have him firmly in his

:10:04. > :10:12.sights. That is unusual pace from the McLaren this afternoon. As we

:10:12. > :10:17.see a replay, this is Perez and getting in the slip stream of the

:10:17. > :10:23.Pastor Maldonado Williams. And huge overspeed and able to effect the

:10:23. > :10:28.pass and pull back into his braking line. He has done his second stop

:10:28. > :10:31.as well. We are watching Sebastian Vettel. Perez has set fastest lap.

:10:31. > :10:35.On his new tyres, he is obviously going very quickly. Sebastian

:10:35. > :10:40.Vettel now back up to speed. This is Paul di Resta versus Michael

:10:40. > :10:48.Schumacher. Re rest on the outside for what is the next left hander

:10:48. > :10:53.into turn four. It look like he had the momentum, but Michael is very

:10:53. > :10:58.experienced. This is the fifth and fifth of his last Grand Prixs of

:10:58. > :11:04.course. Four more after this. And Paul di Resta will have to wait

:11:04. > :11:08.another lap. One thing we have seen on a separate camera shot is

:11:08. > :11:12.Fernando Alonso getting some traffic through the middle sector

:11:12. > :11:15.and gesticulating and Paul di Resta locking that front right as he

:11:15. > :11:19.tries to get himself in the position so when they get to the

:11:19. > :11:24.end of the lap he will still be within that one second window. This

:11:24. > :11:32.is eleven and they pop up into 12. All off camera through this section

:11:32. > :11:36.and then it gets into what we feel more is a classic street circuit,

:11:36. > :11:39.but the concrete barriers. In the background, Sergio Perez is

:11:39. > :11:43.catching these two. Because he is going well on these tyres. Michael

:11:43. > :11:48.Schumacher holding up Paul di Resta and that is allowing Sergio Perez,

:11:48. > :11:54.there he is, just flashing through in the Sauber, to close them in.

:11:54. > :11:59.Let's remind you what is happening. Sebastian Vettel leads by 5.3

:11:59. > :12:09.seconds from Mark Webber. Red Bull are one and two. Ferrari three and

:12:09. > :12:11.

:12:11. > :12:21.four with Fernando Alonso third and Felipe Massa four. We're expecting

:12:21. > :12:25.

:12:25. > :12:35.verg -- Jean-Eric Vergne to make another stop. This guy, she veenly

:12:35. > :12:40.controlling thing out in front. serenery. Don't worry about Mark.

:12:40. > :12:46.He needs to do longer than you on these tyres. Mark is on older tyres

:12:46. > :12:50.than you. I can't imagine that will be too many worries there. He has

:12:50. > :12:54.had control of the race from the start. The gan between them 6.8

:12:54. > :13:01.seconds. You look in the background and there is the second Red Bull.

:13:01. > :13:08.And the Ferrari not that far behind, but it is now 4.5 seconds the gap

:13:08. > :13:14.between Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber. Felipe Massa had a 42.6 the

:13:14. > :13:19.last lap. So closing the gap. It hasn't been played into the made

:13:19. > :13:23.broadcast. But Fernando Alonso lost time in traffic with Petrov. We

:13:23. > :13:29.don't see this often, Massa hounding the back of Fernando

:13:29. > :13:33.Alonso and I don't expect that Ferrari would allow a pass to

:13:33. > :13:37.happen unless Fernando has a big issue that we may find out. There

:13:37. > :13:43.is still a lot of Grand Prix to go and they have got to make the tyres

:13:43. > :13:48.go to the end. Is something going to have to bail and go on a three-

:13:48. > :13:51.stop strategy. Not doing any harm for Felipe Massa's prospects of

:13:51. > :13:56.staying at Ferrari. We think that will happen. Paul di Resta with a

:13:56. > :14:01.run on Michael Schumacher. And this time Paul di Resta gets past the

:14:01. > :14:04.Mercedes. Both use Mercedes engines. He has turned in. That means he is

:14:04. > :14:09.confidence. Sergio Perez is now behind Michael Schumacher. He was

:14:09. > :14:15.able to catch up over that last lap. I don't think he will be able to do

:14:15. > :14:19.anything. Ferrari power in the back of the Sauber, tpwhou DRS on that

:14:19. > :14:25.section. Another man under pressure is Lewis Hamilton. Jean-Eric Vergne

:14:25. > :14:29.is only 1.7 seconds behind with nine tenths of a second faster. We

:14:29. > :14:34.see Paul di Resta here gets the DRS open and lack at how the speed

:14:34. > :14:37.builds when you take the drag off the car and you get the effect of

:14:37. > :14:47.going into the slip stream of the car in front, which adds more speed

:14:47. > :14:52.and look at the difference as they get into the braking zone. Sergio

:14:52. > :14:58.Perez using DRS himself. Massa still chases Fernando Alonso. This

:14:58. > :15:03.is what Ferrari need. Too close to Fernando. I think you can back off

:15:03. > :15:07.at least another second and just stay two and half, three seconds

:15:07. > :15:14.behind. You can understand them giving those instrubgs, but the

:15:14. > :15:17.Brazilian he has shown what he can do. He said after Japan that podium

:15:17. > :15:20.finish helped him get his head straight. He has delivered another

:15:20. > :15:25.fine drive this weekend and you would think that he is doing enough

:15:25. > :15:35.to hold on to his seat at Ferrari. And Jean-Eric Vergne has just come

:15:35. > :15:46.

:15:46. > :15:51.in 13th place, chasing Michael Schumacher. He has a chance of

:15:51. > :15:57.going down the inside. They just managed to give each other enough

:15:57. > :16:04.space. It looked like there was going to be some front wing flying

:16:04. > :16:09.in the air there. It looked like Perez was too deep into that pass.

:16:09. > :16:19.It looks like the start of an inevitable pass at some point

:16:19. > :16:24.

:16:24. > :16:29.because Michael is struggling at hit by Kobayashi. He is out.

:16:30. > :16:35.Rosberg got involved in an incident as well. That was down in to turn

:16:35. > :16:41.one. Perez, at turn one at the start of the Grand Prix, had a bit

:16:41. > :16:44.of a launch down the inside which Button had to get out of the way of.

:16:44. > :16:50.Lewis Hamilton, he's been struggling with his car this

:16:50. > :16:54.afternoon. Not only is Grosjean chasing him, Hulkenberg in the

:16:54. > :16:58.Force India is in there as well. It's looks to me as though Grosjean

:16:58. > :17:03.has quite a lot of graining on the front right tyre. You might find

:17:03. > :17:11.himself under pressure for Hulkenberg. Is it too late in the

:17:11. > :17:15.braking zone? Out wide goes Grosjean. As you said, we saw

:17:15. > :17:20.Vettel get a place doing that and got penalised. He hasn't gone past

:17:20. > :17:25.but it has allowed Hulkenberg to draw alongside... Hulkenberg goes

:17:25. > :17:30.round the outside. Hamilton squeezes him. Hulkenberg has the

:17:30. > :17:35.outside line for the right hander. He's done it. Fantastic stuff from

:17:35. > :17:45.Hulkenberg. A brave boy going round the outside of Hamilton, who is now

:17:45. > :17:54.

:17:54. > :18:04.TEAM RADIO: We think we are going to have to stop again. Push now,

:18:04. > :18:09.

:18:09. > :18:15.for McLaren? It consists of three straights. It is not too bad on the

:18:15. > :18:20.second section. I'm a bit confused about what he is talking about

:18:20. > :18:25.because it doesn't really show on the section turns. David, this is

:18:25. > :18:29.where it started but it was the next section where it got fun.

:18:29. > :18:34.goes around the outside. At this point you are hoping on you've got

:18:34. > :18:38.a compliant fellow racer. There was close to take his line so that

:18:38. > :18:42.Force's Grosjean wide. As we know from Hockenheim, he can't carry

:18:42. > :18:48.that momentum into way past. While that was going on, Hulkenberg

:18:48. > :18:52.carries on the proper racing line around turn four, uses a bit more

:18:52. > :19:02.of the curve on the way out and Lewis, with a wounded car at this

:19:02. > :19:08.

:19:08. > :19:12.outside the white line. That pass will stick. As Gallas said, it's

:19:12. > :19:16.funny, but car is slow in some areas but on the tide and twisty

:19:16. > :19:20.sections it seems to be OK. Whatever the issue is with Lewis

:19:20. > :19:27.Hamilton's car, it is on different areas of the circuit where he is

:19:27. > :19:33.struggling. But right now he's lost a place. Ricciardo isn't in ninth

:19:33. > :19:37.place. Vergne, despite his second pit stop, is in 10th. Toro Rosso

:19:37. > :19:44.could get both cars in the points here. That would be a major

:19:44. > :19:50.achievement for the small Italian team. Di Resta is currently 11th

:19:50. > :19:58.out side the points, Schumacher is 12. Maldonado is still out there on

:19:58. > :20:03.one stop. By the time he does his stop you will be 20 seconds behind

:20:03. > :20:08.Bruno Senna. It shows that that one stop this afternoon was never on to

:20:08. > :20:18.get any sort of sensible result. We expect to see McLaren coming in for

:20:18. > :20:20.

:20:20. > :20:25.found a bit of fight in these tyres. Grosjean is having another go at

:20:25. > :20:35.lining up Hamilton as they come down the main straight. Vettel

:20:35. > :20:44.

:20:44. > :20:54.still leads this raised from Webber. not giving himself anything to play

:20:54. > :21:02.

:21:02. > :21:12.the graining on those front tyres, so it is an issue for many of the

:21:12. > :21:15.

:21:15. > :21:25.drivers here today. Hamilton a bit come into this lap, Hamilton. Let's

:21:25. > :21:33.

:21:33. > :21:40.see if that is a bluff or if he is fair so far here today. Vettel is

:21:40. > :21:47.than nine seconds ahead of whether up front. Alonso is in third. Massa

:21:47. > :21:54.dutifully following in fourth place. This is a close-up of Vettel macro

:21:54. > :22:04.- man Vettel's car. TEAM RADIO: You were doing a good

:22:04. > :22:13.

:22:14. > :22:20.job, but the right fund is still on him there. Here comes Hamilton

:22:20. > :22:26.now, out of the pit lane. He comes out behind Vergne, which means that

:22:27. > :22:33.di Resta will be next. It means that he is in tenth place. Will the

:22:33. > :22:37.car come alive on this final set of tyres? They are super softs he has

:22:37. > :22:45.put on there. Trying a different tactic now. It isn't working on

:22:45. > :22:49.these softer tyres so they are going with the super softs. We are

:22:49. > :22:54.hearing that Massa is asking about the lap times of Marquet and saying,

:22:54. > :22:59.I can go faster than Fernando. Just sending the message, if you need me

:22:59. > :23:03.to be out there chasing the guy in front... Alonso currently running

:23:03. > :23:08.4.5 seconds behind Webber. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad tactic for

:23:08. > :23:14.Ferrari to release Filipe, let him go and see if he can mix it with

:23:14. > :23:24.Mark. In the end, he could always sought out the running order of the

:23:24. > :23:47.

:23:47. > :23:51.Alonso trying to close it down if Hamilton's progress. If he's on

:23:51. > :24:01.that set of tyres, he may be able to overtake a few cars before the

:24:01. > :24:08.

:24:08. > :24:14.end of this race. But now we are on sunset in this region, then it

:24:14. > :24:24.starts to affect the drivers's vision. Yes, visibility not at its

:24:24. > :24:29.

:24:29. > :24:33.touching the ground on the inside. We are looking for the little bits

:24:33. > :24:43.of rubber that might be stuck in the gaps there. It looks relatively

:24:43. > :24:54.

:24:54. > :24:58.taking that championship lead. There is Alonso, but he's holding

:24:58. > :25:08.in there with his Ferrari team. Back down the order, the two

:25:08. > :25:34.

:25:34. > :25:40.Williams are having a bit of a dice between Hulkenberg and Grosjean,

:25:40. > :25:44.but Grosjean is one of the faster cars on track at the moment. He is.

:25:44. > :25:51.He's got his sights on that the sixth place that Hulkenberg is in

:25:52. > :26:01.with Force India. TEAM RADIO: That front right is

:26:02. > :26:07.

:26:07. > :26:12.nine seconds up the road, it gives you that confidence that you can

:26:12. > :26:15.afford to break in early in certain corners. Where for Mark, if he

:26:15. > :26:21.makes one mistake you can drop two seconds just like that and you are

:26:21. > :26:24.suddenly under real pressure. Make no bones about it, this is a

:26:24. > :26:29.mounting pressure, a constant pressure on Mark Webber trying to

:26:29. > :26:33.maintain that gap whilst not using too much of the tyre. The front

:26:34. > :26:37.tyre wear that they are worried about, if it gets too bad then

:26:37. > :26:42.presumably they get down to the carcass of the tyre question of yes,

:26:42. > :26:48.that would be the problem. It's better to take it a bit easier now.

:26:48. > :26:56.He's got a four second lead. Its corners 8, 9 and 11 that eat up the

:26:56. > :27:00.front tyre. He just needs to make sure he doesn't overload the car

:27:00. > :27:07.there. He could probably make that back up again on some other corners

:27:08. > :27:14.when turning to the right. That's a pretty good close-up of that right

:27:14. > :27:17.front tyre. It looks quite clean. A bit less debris on the inside

:27:17. > :27:27.shoulder and we saw from the Ferrari earlier. It looks like he's

:27:27. > :27:43.

:27:43. > :27:53.managing the situation well. On Hamilton on Vergne. Hamilton on the

:27:53. > :27:54.

:27:54. > :27:59.the Toro Rosso. The Toro Rosso has been the fastest car in a straight

:27:59. > :28:04.line or weekend. Strategically, it makes it very difficult for Lewis

:28:04. > :28:10.even with the DRS Open. He was half a second behind at the start-finish

:28:11. > :28:16.line, how much closer can he be and still roam through the apex of turn

:28:16. > :28:21.one? You can see some of the artificial grass that was only late

:28:21. > :28:28.on Thursday night, so very late in the weekend, it hasn't quite had

:28:28. > :28:35.time for that glued to take hold. NBC Ricciardo having a moment. Very

:28:35. > :28:45.unusual there. It was almost like he grab the rear axle and lifted

:28:45. > :29:02.

:29:02. > :29:12.speed around 30 and, as well as 8, as to where he should protect the

:29:12. > :29:19.

:29:19. > :29:24.moving around in a strange way as he braked down into turn one. Lewis

:29:24. > :29:29.has only used half of his KERS. He is in the DRS zone, but that was

:29:29. > :29:32.very strange from the McLaren. Although he is in a difficult place

:29:33. > :29:37.here this afternoon in terms of overall points, you can see the

:29:37. > :29:43.race he is in, he sees an opportunity. On the on-board, there

:29:43. > :29:48.was a lot of steering the action going on. Vergne surely isn't going

:29:48. > :29:53.to be able to protect much longer from Hamilton. Now they are going

:29:53. > :29:58.right. He is on the outside. Vergne does just enough to Squeeze him out

:29:58. > :30:06.of the way. He doesn't go for the lunch up the inside, nothing too

:30:06. > :30:14.silly. No doubting his racing instincts. This is all fighting

:30:14. > :30:20.over the last point. I think that Jean-Eric Vergne macro is going to

:30:20. > :30:24.struggle to hold that over the closing laps. I would feel I needed

:30:24. > :30:34.to have all my guns in action to keep a charge of Lewis Hamilton

:30:34. > :30:40.

:30:40. > :30:50.324 kilometres per hour. Hamilton has got much fresher tyres. Yes,

:30:50. > :31:06.

:31:06. > :31:11.too keep that car in a straight line. We're probably not going to

:31:11. > :31:15.find Ute until after the race what the issue might be. Jean-Eric

:31:15. > :31:20.Vergne's only been in the points twice so far this year. But he has

:31:20. > :31:27.a good opportunity of doing it again. Even if Lewis Hamilton gets

:31:27. > :31:37.past him. Destiny destiny is further back. But rest rest is --

:31:37. > :31:41.

:31:41. > :31:48.His basis fairly similar. Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa continuing

:31:48. > :31:58.in third and fourth places, Felipe Massa has set a new fastest lap.

:31:58. > :31:59.

:31:59. > :32:08.Fernando Alonso trying to close the gap. Looking after the tyres.

:32:08. > :32:14.they're still wearing up. At some point he will be a passenger.

:32:14. > :32:21.when it goes it will have no grip. Gary, they're monitoring the tyres

:32:21. > :32:27.closely, a lot of data coming back to the team. It is difficult to

:32:27. > :32:30.monitor wear. Only the lap time monitors the wear. They don't have

:32:30. > :32:35.to panic. They have a good enough run. It will be difficult if

:32:35. > :32:41.Ferrari want to pick up the pace and close down on Mark Webber that

:32:41. > :32:47.is difficult. Sebastian Vettel is OK, just has to back off on those

:32:47. > :32:54.fast left handers sm We're watching the onboard, what can you see?

:32:54. > :33:04.here the shot shifting that, purts a lot of loading into the front.

:33:04. > :33:06.

:33:06. > :33:13.That takes or the, -- that takes Tork out of engine. What he will be

:33:13. > :33:20.doing is, as Gary mentioned, trying to take load out of the high speed

:33:20. > :33:26.corners. This is Charles Pic. What has been going on here? Oh dear.

:33:26. > :33:36.Then hit by Pastor Maldonado and Senna. They are ahead of Pic in

:33:36. > :33:40.terms of performance. A good interteam battle, Pastor Maldonado

:33:40. > :33:44.hanging on for team honour. He is doing a one-stop, if he manages to

:33:44. > :33:50.get to the end. He may have to make a stop with a lap to go. It did

:33:50. > :33:55.happen last year, sauber tried to get through on less than others. I

:33:55. > :34:04.wondwhrer the safety car might get -- wonder whether the safety car

:34:04. > :34:09.might get called out, because of the debris. The safety car is ready.

:34:09. > :34:14.The sun set here in Cree a look at the right front tyre that the team

:34:14. > :34:18.are concerned about. Because that is the one that takes the wear off

:34:18. > :34:24.on this anti-clockwise track. Most of the tracks in the latter part of

:34:24. > :34:29.the season, these last five or six Grand Prix are anti-clockwise and

:34:30. > :34:33.sues Suzuka arguably is both, because it has a cross over. So

:34:33. > :34:38.we're into a series of anti- clockwise tracks and the right

:34:38. > :34:43.front is taking the pressure. looks like the debris of that

:34:43. > :34:49.artificial grass is off line. The safety car is on stand by, but I

:34:49. > :34:53.don't think we will need it for that. Unless somebody rips it off

:34:53. > :34:58.more. There is where Romain Grosjean ran across the inside of

:34:58. > :35:03.the apex of the turn as we get into the last five laps. A gap to Mark

:35:03. > :35:09.Webber and we will see the gap that keeps him under pressure to Lens

:35:09. > :35:16.lops in the Ferrari. I think -- Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari.

:35:16. > :35:19.Webber is responding. Look at the difference in lap time over the

:35:19. > :35:24.last couple. Webber and Fernando Alonso, it is lard to see sometimes

:35:24. > :35:29.in this situation, you have been talking of the pressure, they're

:35:29. > :35:33.driving flat out with what they have got. They're giving it their

:35:33. > :35:38.haul and we are watching two top drivers, it is sometimes hard to

:35:38. > :35:44.see that. The car tracks beautifully and you can't see the

:35:44. > :35:48.big sliding moment moments. Here is Lewis Hamilton. A huge lock up on

:35:48. > :35:53.that front right as he tries to put pressure on Jean-Eric Vergne. We

:35:53. > :35:58.have seen it all weekend, the McLaren lox up more than any other

:35:58. > :36:04.car. It is a very fast car and over the season it is the fastest car,

:36:04. > :36:10.but having difficulties on this type of circuit. Ricardo is not

:36:10. > :36:17.lapping as quickly so they have reduced a big gap. It did look like

:36:18. > :36:26.he was having an issue overbraking and he chose to get out of the

:36:26. > :36:30.brakes. It looks like vergvrg is soon going to find himself losing

:36:30. > :36:36.eighth place. Did you see? Michael we see the small problem, but

:36:36. > :36:40.nothing to worry about at the moment. Oh dear another problem for

:36:40. > :36:44.Michael Schumacher, a gear box he is worried about. But the team

:36:44. > :36:54.reckon it is going to last the distance, but he is down in 13th.

:36:54. > :36:56.

:36:56. > :37:02.So it is not a good day for Mercedes. Michael Schumacher really

:37:02. > :37:05.hasn't shown a great of race pace. He is down in 13th and has not

:37:06. > :37:11.featured strong Liverpool was we are still watching hafplt as he

:37:11. > :37:18.chases the two Toro Ross sos. Sebastian from now you can be down

:37:18. > :37:23.to the core. Anything might happen under braking, be very careful for

:37:23. > :37:28.braking. A bit nervous aren't they? I think they're trying to cover

:37:28. > :37:34.themselves. They know they have a nine second lead, but it would be

:37:34. > :37:38.silly to give it awe Wau. And Lewis Hamilton locks up again. Two stops

:37:38. > :37:42.have been the order of the day. But with three laps to go it wouldn't

:37:42. > :37:46.be the first time we have seen people having issues right at the

:37:46. > :37:51.end of the Grand Prix. But he has that buffer and the man under

:37:51. > :37:56.pressure is his team mate, Mark Webber, the gap down to 3.7 seconds

:37:56. > :38:01.to Fernando Alonso. It is more than doable from the Ferrari to find

:38:01. > :38:05.themselves on the gear box of that road bull. Is it going to happen,

:38:05. > :38:10.or will Red Bull judge to it perfection? Jean-Eric Vergne on his

:38:10. > :38:14.team mate. He was not fought hard by Daniel Ricciardo. What Toro

:38:14. > :38:18.Rosso have to do is get the best out of this and it is best to get

:38:18. > :38:22.Jean-Eric Vergne ahead and fend Lewis Hamilton off. Oh dear, he

:38:22. > :38:28.didn't deefed fend and Lewis Hamilton saw an opportunity, but

:38:28. > :38:34.just bailed nowt time. It is a problem on that Toro Rosso. He is

:38:34. > :38:39.going defensive to allow Jean-Eric Vergne to get away. Lewis Hamilton

:38:39. > :38:46.is having the benefit of DRS and he would have got a double slip stream

:38:46. > :38:51.from the two Toro Rossos in front of him. So expect him to find his

:38:51. > :38:57.way past Daniel Ricciardo, but will he have enough laughs to get past

:38:57. > :39:01.Jean-Eric Vergne. Well -- laughs to gets past Jean-Eric Vergne. Here is

:39:01. > :39:09.the pass. They left the door open. He has had the instruction, what is

:39:10. > :39:14.the best thing for the team. straight forward move for Jean-Eric

:39:14. > :39:21.Vergne. Frustrating for Daniel Ricciardo. There will be no warning.

:39:21. > :39:27.From what we can tell from our data you're in the same state as when

:39:27. > :39:33.you pitted right now. There is no signs. Lewis Hamilton has an issue

:39:33. > :39:39.under the car. He has picked up some debris. It is the carpet. He

:39:39. > :39:43.has gone wide on the exit of the turn where we saw the debris. You

:39:43. > :39:47.hear about debris in the slot gap. That is more than debris in the

:39:47. > :39:52.slot gap. That is not nice for Lewis Hamilton and that could do

:39:52. > :39:57.damage to the body work. He is behind the two Toro Rossos. It

:39:57. > :40:02.doesn't look like he will be able to attack. You can see, whether he

:40:02. > :40:08.is weaving to try and get rid of it. Gary, this is not a nice situation.

:40:08. > :40:13.No, it is affecting the car. It is flapping around. I would expect it

:40:13. > :40:19.to break up soon. But that stuff has a good structure and so it may

:40:19. > :40:24.hang on this. I seems it is wide enough around these bargeboards. We

:40:24. > :40:29.will see replay. He got in the slip stream of the car in front, lost

:40:29. > :40:36.down force and ran into where we knew there was the debris there. So,

:40:36. > :40:42.well, he was pushing hard to try and make up the difference. There

:40:42. > :40:47.is AstroTurf caught on the right side pod. Be careful. It is there

:40:47. > :40:50.permanently at the moment. Not what you want to see. For Lewis Hamilton,

:40:50. > :40:55.today doesn't get better. After being in a position to challenge

:40:55. > :41:01.and score more points, now he is... That car looks like a real handful.

:41:01. > :41:05.It hasn't looked great through the race and now it lax worse.

:41:05. > :41:12.Sebastian Vettel has done a personal best in the first sector.

:41:12. > :41:18.He is take it steadily. The first sector does not involve much load

:41:18. > :41:24.on the front tyre. It is froopbt line. Listen to it. Nice and steady

:41:24. > :41:30.there. He is cruising it home. gentle. Sorry to be on your case,

:41:31. > :41:34.but we are worried here, you will not know when it's too late. He has

:41:34. > :41:39.allowed the gap to come down a bit between himself and Mark Webber.

:41:39. > :41:43.But there are some very anxious and nervous faces on the Red Bull pit

:41:43. > :41:49.wall. But he is still out there, it is still looking good for him. He

:41:49. > :41:54.is on to the final lap. Senna on Pastor Maldonado. For honour among

:41:54. > :41:59.the two Williams drivers. That was off track, but I think he may have

:41:59. > :42:04.dropped back. He ran in the braking area, a huge difference in speed.

:42:04. > :42:08.Goes way too wide, his right hand wheels are overthe line and he had

:42:08. > :42:13.to release Pastor Maldonado back into the position. So Sebastian

:42:13. > :42:20.Vettel, will the tyres last? They are concerned, but Mark Webber has

:42:20. > :42:26.set fastest lap. Mark Webber feel happy with his car. He has done

:42:26. > :42:30.1.42.0. And Sebastian Vettel continues on his way. It has just

:42:30. > :42:34.got to hold together for another couple of kilometres to take

:42:34. > :42:40.victory here in Korea. What a sequence he is into at the moment.

:42:40. > :42:46.He won in Singapore and in Japan a week ago. And it looks likely he

:42:46. > :42:50.will win here. But let's not count on anything yet. We have heard the

:43:28. > :43:33.It is hi fourth win of 2012 and a hat trick of victories as he has

:46:42. > :46:46.Sebastian Vettel to make the most of the moment. Victory in Korea.

:46:46. > :46:56.What a great run it has been in Asia for Sebastian Vettel. A series

:46:56. > :47:01.

:47:01. > :47:06.of victories have put into the top often before but it means a lot. He

:47:06. > :47:10.is ahead of Alonso in the points. But Alonso and Ferrari, they are

:47:11. > :47:17.not out of this. Looking at the pace that Alonso had and in

:47:17. > :47:20.particular Massa, we cannot discount them. No. Ferrari were in

:47:20. > :47:30.front of McLaren in the Constructors' Championship. It is

:47:30. > :47:32.

:47:32. > :47:38.very important as well. Sebastian Vettel there. I think they were

:47:38. > :47:44.nervous, weren't they, but Adrian, what a perfect result for him and

:47:44. > :47:54.the team. It is the 6th Red Bull win of the season, but it's their

:47:54. > :48:30.

:48:30. > :48:35.podium for Red Bull Racing since they began and since they started

:48:35. > :48:40.racking up the victories. Vettel celebrates the moment, a victory

:48:40. > :48:44.here in Korea for the second year in succession, having nearly won it

:48:45. > :48:51.in the first year as well. 75 podiums since you took your first

:48:51. > :49:01.podium for Red Bull. Monaco, 2006. They've done pretty well since then.

:49:01. > :49:05.

:49:05. > :49:10.They've done a remarkable job in first time he's finished second

:49:10. > :49:15.this year. It will boost his championship hopes a bit more. But

:49:15. > :49:20.it is Vettel verses Alonso going into the final few races. Fernando

:49:20. > :49:24.Alonso, he is always there or thereabouts. He's been quoted this

:49:24. > :49:28.weekend as saying, Red Bull might have the best car but I've got the

:49:28. > :49:34.best team, and we are going to keep fighting this all the way to the

:49:34. > :49:39.end. Time for celebrations. Sebastian Vettel, the smiling

:49:39. > :49:47.assassin, he has struck again, having slashed the points gap in

:49:47. > :49:51.Japan. What a good bit of preparation from Adrian! Prepare

:49:51. > :49:55.for the champagne spray! Metal closed the gap in Japan and now

:49:55. > :50:00.he's put himself at the top of the standings once more. Surely that

:50:00. > :50:04.third title in a role is an ever more realistic possibility. He's on

:50:04. > :50:11.the march and he's going to four more tracks in his attempt to try

:50:11. > :50:16.and do that. Three wins on the trot. Adrian taking a very well earned a

:50:16. > :50:20.swig of that champagne. Alonso showing his team there is still

:50:20. > :50:30.half a bottle of champagne left for them. That's nice, he is such a

:50:30. > :50:41.

:50:41. > :50:47.team player. Time for the to be done by another Grand Prix

:50:47. > :50:57.star. It's going to be by Johnny Herbert, a veteran of 160 Grand

:50:57. > :51:03.

:51:03. > :51:13.Prix and three wins during that well. A very popular member of the

:51:13. > :51:23.

:51:23. > :51:30.hands! Here we are, Sebastien, bats and nice smile on your face. You've

:51:30. > :51:37.got to be happy the way it's gone. Don't you dare! Oh, OK. Thank you

:51:37. > :51:42.very much. Perfect start, perfect race, third straight win - you've

:51:42. > :51:51.got to be so happy with how things are going. She wants my hat.

:51:51. > :51:55.think she wants your number! can take yours! I'm very pleased.

:51:55. > :52:00.Leave the jokes apart. Fantastic, I'm very happy. It was a fantastic

:52:00. > :52:03.race. The foundation was to have a good start, which I wasn't sure

:52:03. > :52:08.because I was starting on the dirty side but I had reasonable grip and

:52:08. > :52:12.a very good launch. I think Mark had a bit of wheel slip, so I was

:52:12. > :52:17.able to get side-by-side. It wasn't over because it is a long way. When

:52:17. > :52:23.I was up shifting to second gear, I could hear Mark coming. I then

:52:23. > :52:28.tried to use my KERS to defend and fortunately had a good exit after

:52:28. > :52:32.the third corner. After that I tried to push. It was quite close,

:52:32. > :52:36.Mark was always on my toes. But towards the end I felt I had a bit

:52:36. > :52:40.more left in the tyres and could go a little bit longer. We had two

:52:40. > :52:45.brilliant pit stops. The only mistake was once I looked up to the

:52:45. > :52:48.front right quite badly in to turn three. Quite a mistake from my side

:52:48. > :52:52.but fortunately by the end we had quite a cushion to the cars behind

:52:52. > :52:56.and were able to control the gaps. We were a bit worried about the

:52:56. > :53:02.front tyres because we've seen a lot of people locking up wheels.

:53:02. > :53:05.Overshooting the apex. Really happy. I have to thank the boys on this

:53:05. > :53:11.one. The mechanics in the garage, they have been flat out, arriving

:53:11. > :53:14.here, there's not much break from Japan to here, but flat out every

:53:14. > :53:18.night and working very hard on the car. I think we have them another

:53:18. > :53:24.step, that's exactly what we need. Hopefully we can carry that

:53:24. > :53:29.momentum through to the next races. Mark, second place. Pole position

:53:29. > :53:34.was obviously a good start for you. Fortunately, on that stop yourself

:53:34. > :53:39.you didn't quite get off the line. -- unfortunately. What difficulties

:53:39. > :53:46.did you have defending? The start was and sensational, I have to look

:53:46. > :53:53.into it. But the initial Getaway wasn't too great. After that,

:53:53. > :53:57.everyone wants... It's not the best corner to lead off. It was just

:53:57. > :54:02.neck-and-neck for us along the back straight. Then I tried to hang in

:54:02. > :54:06.as best I could. Then it was just about tyres, looking after the

:54:06. > :54:10.front right. At the end of each stint it was difficult to keep the

:54:10. > :54:13.front right alive. The first two stints were quite tricky but in the

:54:13. > :54:17.last one I was happy with the balance. It was too late for me

:54:17. > :54:21.then. The guys did a great job. Of course I'm disappointed but I'm

:54:21. > :54:27.happy to get a good result in the other side as well. Thanks to all

:54:27. > :54:33.the fans for coming out today. Fernando, the championship Vettel

:54:33. > :54:38.is on now. You've led for so long with this championship. I think you

:54:38. > :54:44.should be happy with today because the car was quite competitive. Do

:54:44. > :54:47.you feel there's more to come from you and Ferrari? Definitely. We

:54:47. > :54:51.have to be happy with the performance to date. Third and

:54:51. > :54:56.fourth macro, just behind Red Bull, who at the moment are difficult to

:54:57. > :55:00.beat. It was a good day for the team. For Filipe, for me. We

:55:00. > :55:04.overtook McLaren in the Constructors' Championship, which

:55:04. > :55:09.is something that we didn't expect two or three races ago. We are

:55:09. > :55:13.moving in the right direction. We just need the last step to be as

:55:13. > :55:18.competitive as Red Bull and I think we will be beautiful four races to

:55:18. > :55:22.the end. Well done. The last thing from you. You are leading the

:55:22. > :55:30.championship finally. How are these guys, especially Fernando, going to

:55:30. > :55:35.be able to beat you? It is tough. That is what it is about. I'm

:55:35. > :55:39.looking forward to the next couple of races. We have had a good last

:55:39. > :55:45.couple of races but we've seen the championship is apt and down. What

:55:45. > :55:50.do we do? We have to focus on ourselves. We need to have our best

:55:50. > :55:53.possible result and then go from there. At the end of the year, if

:55:53. > :55:57.we have enough points there's a lot of people telling us, so we don't

:55:57. > :56:01.have to do the mathematics ourselves. You've done a fantastic

:56:01. > :56:11.job, we've got a cracking championship coming - I think it's

:56:11. > :56:32.

:56:32. > :56:38.tough day for Lewis. Afterwards, he They said it was safe for me to

:56:38. > :56:43.drive. Would you rather know that information during the race? I did

:56:43. > :56:46.ask but I guess you don't want... I wasn't expecting them to tell me.

:56:46. > :56:51.They said they knew what the problem was. I was just fighting

:56:52. > :56:56.the whole way with the car. Sometimes it is really sad that we

:56:56. > :57:00.are pretty much out of the championship today that sometimes

:57:00. > :57:04.these races show the true spirit within. I feel quite comfortable

:57:04. > :57:09.with myself that I pushed and gave it everything. Lewis Hamilton not

:57:09. > :57:13.at all happy, when it falls apart it really falls apart. Especially

:57:13. > :57:17.off the back of Japan where he had another issue with the car there.

:57:17. > :57:20.Jenson, taken out there are no fault of his own. There was some

:57:20. > :57:24.real head-scratching going on at McLaren because mechanical gremlins

:57:24. > :57:27.have been setting in in the second half of the season. You could say

:57:27. > :57:32.this is the pattern for Red Bull for the rest of the season, but in

:57:32. > :57:35.terms of race pace, Ferrari will know they can match Red Bull for

:57:35. > :57:38.the final races. They were very strong in qualifying. They haven't

:57:39. > :57:43.seen the same amount of upgrades that Red Bull have been able to

:57:43. > :57:47.bring. Alonso not saying he is disappointed that this result, he

:57:47. > :57:52.is happy with it because it keeps him within shouting distance.

:57:52. > :57:56.is the favourite? Fernando, we spoke for so long that it was going

:57:56. > :58:01.to happen for him, but now everyone is saying it is Sebastian Vettel.

:58:01. > :58:06.You never know. Fernando is clever enough to maximise the

:58:06. > :58:10.opportunities that are there but it is the car. He needs to qualify in

:58:10. > :58:14.the front row to win the Grand Prix. Thank you for watching. We are back
