:00:28. > :00:27.I just hope it is not the sleek and the slick come to the

:00:28. > :00:41.slithering jungle, well as it the sleek and the slick come to the

:00:42. > :00:52.often more confusing than what prompted it. But ask us who will

:00:53. > :01:05.complicate the simple truth. It is like a charmed snake, safely

:01:06. > :01:05.complicate the simple truth. It is enthusiastic mystic will allow the

:01:06. > :02:08.title to be taken. enthusiastic mystic will allow the

:02:09. > :02:11.It is Indian Grand Prix time. Hell Hello and welcome to qualifying from

:02:12. > :02:15.the Buddh International Circuit. We could see a warld champion crowned

:02:16. > :02:18.for the fourth consecutive time. Right, let's look at the maths.

:02:19. > :02:24.These are the standings and Sebastian Vettel needs only to

:02:25. > :02:29.finish in the top five regardless of what Fernando Alonso does to

:02:30. > :02:34.guarantee his fourth world title. Fernando Alonso is the only

:02:35. > :02:41.contender would have to win or come second. Red Bull could wra up the

:02:42. > :02:46.constructors title and they have managed to stretch out a 148 point

:02:47. > :02:50.gap and they need 24 points to guarantee them the win. So a win on

:02:51. > :03:00.track would be more than enough for glory. Well, exciting times. Eddie

:03:01. > :03:06.Jordan, Sebastian Vettel. We were reticent to talk about victory in

:03:07. > :03:10.Japan, but it seems odds on. It is just delaying the process, but I'm

:03:11. > :03:15.sure it will be over here tomorrow. His record here is extraordinary.

:03:16. > :03:18.Tell us about that? Well, his record for the last number of races is

:03:19. > :03:23.extraordinary, but more so here. He has dominated here since we have

:03:24. > :03:26.come to India and I expect that to go ahead. Even the qualifying and

:03:27. > :03:30.free practise, he has dominated that as well. So I think he means to go

:03:31. > :03:33.on. He wants to win this with glory. He would like to win it on the top

:03:34. > :03:36.of the podium. He won the last two races here. He

:03:37. > :03:44.has been in pole position. He led every lap and he won five races on

:03:45. > :03:48.the bounce. He is asking for Michael Schumacher's wins in a season record

:03:49. > :03:54.as well? I think he will do. I'm sure Michael is sitting at home and

:03:55. > :03:58.having a quiet look over his shoulder and saying a sense of

:03:59. > :04:03.statistics that were impossible to beat, seven times world champion at

:04:04. > :04:06.26. I wouldn't bet against it because I think Vettel has the

:04:07. > :04:12.ingredients to make sure he can come out on top. Whether he stays at Red

:04:13. > :04:16.Bull or goes off to Mercedes or indeed, my guess is possibly

:04:17. > :04:22.Ferrari, but if he does that, I still think he can win more and more

:04:23. > :04:25.Grand Prix. Well, he has to qualify first. Let's see how he gets on.

:04:26. > :04:37.Here is your team. Lee and Tom are in the pit lane and Gary, David and

:04:38. > :04:41.Ben are your commentators. The Buddh International Circuit, 25

:04:42. > :04:47.miles from New Delhi. Sebastian Vettel is aiming to maintain a 100%

:04:48. > :04:54.pole position and race victory record here in India. He is planning

:04:55. > :05:04.to keep a clean slate of victories, the winner of Singapore, Korea and

:05:05. > :05:08.Japan. If he wins, ist fourth title is surely a mere formality. The

:05:09. > :05:16.track has some great corners. Sector two is challenging with the last

:05:17. > :05:21.double right-hander testing tyre grip and turn three making for

:05:22. > :05:28.tricky approaches. The start/finish straight is followed by a one

:05:29. > :05:34.kilometre straight with speeds up to 100mph and a massive hit on the

:05:35. > :05:39.brakes to 55mph. We saw Red Bull in commanding form. Vettel master than

:05:40. > :05:43.Mark Webber and then we saw Alonso third and Hulkenberg going well with

:05:44. > :05:49.Grosjean fifth and Felipe Massa sixth. The worrying thing is the

:05:50. > :05:55.amount of gap there was between Vettel and Webber and a further two

:05:56. > :05:59.tenths down to Alonso and Hulkenberg having a good run almost a second

:06:00. > :06:02.behind so it does look like Red Bull are making best use of the tyres. We

:06:03. > :06:08.should not be surprised at this point in the season, but it would be

:06:09. > :06:12.nice to imagine we would see a shoot-out for pole position.

:06:13. > :06:17.Sebastian Vettel needs to finish in the top five and he is guaranteed of

:06:18. > :06:21.his fourth title and he has not finished lower than fourth in any of

:06:22. > :06:24.the races he finished this year throughout the season. So the

:06:25. > :06:29.betting is strong. But, of course, there will be nervousness. Christian

:06:30. > :06:35.Horner always aware of how much can go wrong. They had the KERS problems

:06:36. > :06:41.in Japan. It goes to prove it doesn't always go swimmingly.

:06:42. > :06:45.Ferrari on the 297 scoreline, the same number of points that Sebastian

:06:46. > :06:50.Vettel scored on his own. A focussed, Sebastian Vettel. A bit of

:06:51. > :06:53.music in the head phones and he is getting himself into the position

:06:54. > :06:57.for qualifying now. DAVID COULTHARD: Yes, he is getting

:06:58. > :07:02.his own space and the head phones are telling us it all, don't disturb

:07:03. > :07:07.me. It helps him get in the zone and clearly, he has been the qualifying

:07:08. > :07:11.king. The statistic, Mercedes had more poles is interesting. I'm

:07:12. > :07:16.holding some hope they will take the battle this afternoon. A very, very

:07:17. > :07:22.relaxed looking Fernando Alonso. No music, he is giving us a wave. He

:07:23. > :07:27.thinks he is in the form of his life and unquestionably he is very strong

:07:28. > :07:36.in the races, but there have been a few qal -- qualifyings where Massa

:07:37. > :07:41.kept him honest and kept on top of him. Nobody is rushing to come out

:07:42. > :07:46.on to the circuit. Gary, let's think about how the teams go into this

:07:47. > :07:51.qualifier. It will get more complicated because of the tyres.

:07:52. > :07:58.The yellow walled tyre is very, very soft. It will give you one fast lap,

:07:59. > :08:04.but it won't be a great race tyre It is a bit fragile. You could classify

:08:05. > :08:11.it as more of a qualifying tyre. There is a big difference between

:08:12. > :08:14.both tyres. Do you see some different strategies going on here

:08:15. > :08:20.today? I can see Sebastian Vettel trying to qualify on the harder tyre

:08:21. > :08:25.in Q3, if he can get in there, he could end up third or fourth on the

:08:26. > :08:30.grid. That would be the safest tyre to start on.

:08:31. > :08:35.Joining us is Christian Horner. Thank you for joining us. A nervy

:08:36. > :08:39.time, I'm sure. Just quickly explain to us what the contrasting

:08:40. > :08:44.strategies might be between different teams? What is influencing

:08:45. > :08:48.the thinking? Well, the influence in thinking is we have got one tyre

:08:49. > :08:52.that will probably do about ten miles and the other one will do

:08:53. > :08:58.about 150 miles. So you know, you have got two extremes and that poses

:08:59. > :09:04.some interesting questions. We have seen at other races at China and

:09:05. > :09:06.Montreal in the past, but you know, grid position is still hugely

:09:07. > :09:11.important. Right, well, best of luck in this

:09:12. > :09:14.session. Hopefully we will hear more from you later on.

:09:15. > :09:19.DAVID COULTHARD: I see Rosberg clattering the kerbs here and going

:09:20. > :09:22.beyond the white line which Charlie discussed with the drivers and he is

:09:23. > :09:26.of the mind that if you go on to the artificial grass then you might have

:09:27. > :09:30.all four wheels off the track, but you are not gaining an advantage. So

:09:31. > :09:35.don't expect to see any penalties for that. Coming back to the radio

:09:36. > :09:43.message Ben, as well, Lewis was told that he has got the magic Button

:09:44. > :09:50.available. I imagine that is either a full lock or a full release. So if

:09:51. > :09:57.he has a lot of understeer you can push the Button and take the

:09:58. > :10:02.understeer out of the car. The cut off the teams and Gary

:10:03. > :10:07.thinking it is about 1.26.5. So that may not be enough for Rosberg. He is

:10:08. > :10:12.about a tenth away from what we are thinking. Track does change as we go

:10:13. > :10:16.through qualifying. It tends to get more grippy. Kimi Raikkonen on a

:10:17. > :10:21.lap. He is faster than anybody in the first sector so far. All of them

:10:22. > :10:28.at this stage using the harder tyre with the white writing on the sited

:10:29. > :10:31.wall -- side wall. He is looking really tidy as he rolls out of the

:10:32. > :10:36.secretary last corner. There is a bit of traffic ahead, but it won't

:10:37. > :10:40.affect him. He locks up and goes wide. That will cost him half a

:10:41. > :10:43.tenth or so as he runs across the line.

:10:44. > :10:49.It puts him second. Again, it is perhaps not enough. 1.26.8. That was

:10:50. > :10:56.Hulkenberg going very wide. Just about hanging on to it. It is a good

:10:57. > :11:02.lap from Hulkenberg. He is putting a good lap together. He is, indeed. It

:11:03. > :11:05.looks like a bit of oversteer on that Sauber. It does make it

:11:06. > :11:09.difficult for the driver to position. We went on board with

:11:10. > :11:16.Perez, but here is Hulkenberg at the end of the lap.

:11:17. > :11:19.And he goes third fastest. Looking after those tyres and having them

:11:20. > :11:25.still good for you here in the final two corners is what it could be

:11:26. > :11:30.about. A bit hesitant at full power as he went through 15. He will have

:11:31. > :11:34.late down shift then as he runs to the apex. That's him energising the

:11:35. > :11:40.exhausts and the aerodynamics of the car.

:11:41. > :11:45.He has done a 1.26.5. That was a good lap by Sergio Perez. He had a

:11:46. > :11:50.difficult season. I'm just watching Valtteri Bottas. A little lock-up.

:11:51. > :11:54.More than a little lock-up. He missed the apex and that won't be

:11:55. > :11:58.his only effort in this session. He is down in 18th.

:11:59. > :12:01.Only a tenth slower than his team-mate. Rosberg is back out. So

:12:02. > :12:05.they stayed out. They feel it wasn't enough what he did. Does he go

:12:06. > :12:11.quicker? Yes, he does. Now that might be enough for him. So he has

:12:12. > :12:17.done another run on those medium compound tyres. It goes to show what

:12:18. > :12:20.a good race tyre that is. Yes, through free practise we have seen

:12:21. > :12:28.the tyres hanging in there and lap times are improving as the fuel

:12:29. > :12:33.burns off. Every lap, you will burn off two kilos of fuel.

:12:34. > :12:39.Felipe Massa, we're watching now for Ferrari. He scored one front row

:12:40. > :12:43.start this either. The only front row start that either of the

:12:44. > :12:47.Ferraris enjoyed. He did that in Malaysia and that seems a long, long

:12:48. > :12:51.time ago. He is very wide there. Really over the kerb. Too much. It

:12:52. > :12:55.is not going to gain him time. Maybe running more speed through the apex.

:12:56. > :13:00.He is picking up some lap time, but when you get that wide over those

:13:01. > :13:05.sort of rumble strip kerbs that we have then you just lose traction.

:13:06. > :13:09.He goes sixth fastest currently. We have not seen any lap times from

:13:10. > :13:12.Romain Grosjean, and Vettel and Webber and Alonso. They are all in

:13:13. > :13:18.the pits at the moment. I'm just looking back at Felipe Massa. This

:13:19. > :13:22.is turn 15. Early on the power and runs wide and out on to the

:13:23. > :13:26.artificial grass and they are all getting a free pass on that from

:13:27. > :13:36.Charlie Whiting this weekend. If they are not considered to gain

:13:37. > :13:56.advantage, there is no need to hand the penalties.

:13:57. > :13:59.It is marginal. We are back with Esteban Gutierrez. Sauber switching

:14:00. > :14:05.him on to the soft tyre early in this session and if that 1.26.5

:14:06. > :14:09.target is on the cards, he will have to find himself over a second. A

:14:10. > :14:13.good lap from Lewis Hamilton. Well, a reasonable lap from Lewis

:14:14. > :14:17.Hamilton. That's on the harder compound. But let's just see whether

:14:18. > :14:20.Gutierrez keeps it between the white lines this time because he failed to

:14:21. > :14:26.do that on a couple of occasions. Out of the pits I think he is going,

:14:27. > :14:30.Fernando Alonso. We are about to see the others that haven't set a lap

:14:31. > :14:38.yet including Vettel and Webber coming on to the track. This is the

:14:39. > :14:42.long turn 10 and 11. Medium compound tyre for the Red Bull, but Alonso

:14:43. > :14:54.has gone out on the soft compound tyre. That's an interesting strategy

:14:55. > :15:01.from Ferrari. Clearly they feel the offset in performance is too big a

:15:02. > :15:04.gap for them. You wonder, are Ferrari going to take a gamble this

:15:05. > :15:08.weekend and really try to do something to upset Red Bull?

:15:09. > :15:12.Gutierrez goes fastest, that is a good lap, on the soft tyre. He has

:15:13. > :15:20.gained about 1.5 seconds on that lap, with the soft tyre, so it shows

:15:21. > :15:24.you how different these tyres are. And making full use of the Orange

:15:25. > :15:27.sausage kerb there. He actually went rattling over it in free practice

:15:28. > :15:32.this morning. That would have hurt his lower back when he landed. But

:15:33. > :15:39.judging it to perfection on this occasion. Jenson Button is currently

:15:40. > :15:44.seventh fastest. He is still on the harder compound tyre. We saw Vettel

:15:45. > :15:48.going out on the medium compound, but Mark Webber has gone straight

:15:49. > :15:51.out on the soft. It looks like a difference in strategy between the

:15:52. > :15:57.two Red Bull team-mates. I wonder if that will lead to an interesting

:15:58. > :16:02.situation there. It looked like it had some oversteer into the last

:16:03. > :16:06.corner there. That is probably not quite enough to be comfortable for

:16:07. > :16:12.Button there. Still time to get back and put some soft tyres on at this

:16:13. > :16:16.stage. Quite a few cars in the pits will be waiting to decide what to

:16:17. > :16:17.do. Here we go with Fernando Alonso, on the soft tyre,

:16:18. > :16:23.do. Here we go with Fernando Alonso, with a bit of traffic ahead. It is

:16:24. > :16:34.his own team-mate. Who dutifully gets out of the way! This is in the

:16:35. > :16:47.second of the DRS zones. A long straight, dropping down. Did they

:16:48. > :16:51.say three times laps? That would be optimistic with these tyres, I would

:16:52. > :16:56.think. He seemed to get a bit of understated and through turn four.

:16:57. > :17:02.Coming up to the medium speed corners now... Very late on the down

:17:03. > :17:11.shift there at the first chicane. This is up into turns 10 and 11,

:17:12. > :17:15.followed by 12. Massive cartel through here. Massive understeer as

:17:16. > :17:28.well by the looks of it. -- massive cartel. -- massive G. This is 15,

:17:29. > :17:37.dropping away on the exit. That was where we saw his team-mate going

:17:38. > :17:41.very wide. Alonso does go fastest, but not by very much from Gutierrez.

:17:42. > :17:47.That will see him safely through to the second part of qualifying. He

:17:48. > :17:51.has backed out, so he is doing a preserving lap, before having

:17:52. > :17:57.another go. Does he need another go, that should be plenty, shouldn't it?

:17:58. > :18:00.You would think so, and that can allow him to run on that tyre again

:18:01. > :18:07.at the beginning of the next session. Mark Webber is also on the

:18:08. > :18:12.soft tyre. And Vettel has just gone second fastest on the medium

:18:13. > :18:16.compound tyre! Can you believe it? Alonso has just laid it down as hard

:18:17. > :18:22.as he could on a soft tyre, which is at least half a second faster, and

:18:23. > :18:27.Vettel almost matches him. I think that is the definition of soul

:18:28. > :18:32.destroying. It is just unbelievable, he is just on a different planet to

:18:33. > :18:40.everybody else but let's keep NI on Mark Webber. I wonder if what they

:18:41. > :18:43.are doing what they have done before, keeping a pair of soft tyres

:18:44. > :18:56.for later. He goes third, so he is safe. I

:18:57. > :19:00.think that was probably quite a measured drive from Mark Webber,

:19:01. > :19:05.trying not to take too much out of these tyres, and they will hope to

:19:06. > :19:12.get through Q2 on that same set. We have seen Red Bull do that a couple

:19:13. > :19:15.of times. There is his engineer, giving they have got data beamed

:19:16. > :19:19.down to the pit wall, the driver knows his lap time, but there will

:19:20. > :19:25.be other bits of information they will be trading as they come in

:19:26. > :19:34.towards the pits. At the moment, in the drop zone, we have Vergne,

:19:35. > :19:38.Maldonado, Bianchi and Chilton. Hulkenberg is going quickly out on

:19:39. > :19:45.the circuit at the moment. Adrian Sutil about to cross the line in the

:19:46. > :19:50.Force India, and he does so - fifth fastest. That should be enough for

:19:51. > :19:55.him to go through. Romain Grosjean, that should be OK for him as well.

:19:56. > :20:00.He is seventh at the moment. What's of cars now coming across the line.

:20:01. > :20:06.Vergne and Maldonado currently in the drop zone. Grosjean currently

:20:07. > :20:10.10th fastest, and that should be enough for him.

:20:11. > :20:15.RADIO: We are a little bit on the edge so we will do one more lap.

:20:16. > :20:18.That is interesting, so maybe the drop zone is changing. Maybe the

:20:19. > :20:25.track is getting quicker and quicker, which would be suggested by

:20:26. > :20:32.the fact that Webber is being warned. This is Grosjean. Yes,

:20:33. > :20:35.oversteer there, great reactions, gets away with it. Eventually, ran

:20:36. > :20:41.out of the circuit, coming out of ten. Look at the front tyre, you can

:20:42. > :20:45.see the minimum pressure that they can get away with, it is just

:20:46. > :20:52.loading and creating that grip as they push through this high-speed

:20:53. > :20:59.chicane. Let's see what Kimi Raikkonen does. He goes fastest of

:21:00. > :21:03.all. Vettel still fourth fastest, should be safely through. We are

:21:04. > :21:08.waiting for the likes of Vergne and Maldonado. Everybody using the soft

:21:09. > :21:16.tyres, except for Sebastian Vettel and Roman Grosjean. A bit of traffic

:21:17. > :21:22.to content with as we come to the end of the lap. Vergne has just

:21:23. > :21:28.started his quick lap. Rosberg goes up to second all of a sudden, on the

:21:29. > :21:34.soft tyre. But still only a 10th quicker than Vettel managed on the

:21:35. > :21:35.harder compound tyre. That was a really mammoth lap from Sebastian

:21:36. > :21:56.Vettel. If you remember previous races here,

:21:57. > :22:01.we saw Massa's front suspension break a couple of times, hitting

:22:02. > :22:05.that orange kerb. Meanwhile, Hamilton has just gone slightly

:22:06. > :22:09.quicker than Raikkonen. But that is beaten by Mark Webber, who had to

:22:10. > :22:14.use those tyres again to get another lap in, but he has done so. Now,

:22:15. > :22:17.down at the bottom, let's see who is going to be in the drop zone.

:22:18. > :22:22.Ricciardo has gone through, second fastest. That was a very quick lap.

:22:23. > :22:31.What about his team-mate? Jean-Eric Vergne is coming through, as he

:22:32. > :22:34.crossed the line? No, there he is. In the meantime, Bottas has now been

:22:35. > :22:40.pushed into the drop zone, because van der Garde has briefly got out of

:22:41. > :22:47.that bottom group. I do not think he will manage to stay there. Vergne

:22:48. > :22:52.pushes him out, so he is safely into Q2. Bottas and Maldonado, it looks

:22:53. > :22:58.as though it could be both Williams again. But let's just wait, because

:22:59. > :23:02.there is still another lap here. Bottas looks like he could improve,

:23:03. > :23:07.and he does indeed. Maldonado I think has bailed out of this lap.

:23:08. > :23:12.And Roman Grosjean has got to be a bit wary here, because he is 16th,

:23:13. > :23:19.and he has seen Massa is on a lap which could push Roman Grosjean out

:23:20. > :23:25.of Schonfeld! That is a bit of a startling result, but it could

:23:26. > :23:30.happen! Grosjean obviously left his run until the last possible moment.

:23:31. > :23:36.Massa comes across the line, and Grosjean is out! Roman Grosjean, the

:23:37. > :23:41.star of Suzuka, who raced the Red Bulls rights to the flag and

:23:42. > :23:46.finished in third place, enough to podium finishes, and he is out in

:23:47. > :23:56.Schonfeld! Lotus have misled it, surely. He should have been far

:23:57. > :24:02.further up. EDDIE JORDAN: I just do not get it.

:24:03. > :24:08.It is a fundamental error. When you are starting this far back, you put

:24:09. > :24:12.yourself at risk of everything getting held up by slower drivers. I

:24:13. > :24:17.think this was a really major error on behalf of Lotus. Why do you think

:24:18. > :24:21.they did not send him out? Anybody who thinks, with how competitive the

:24:22. > :24:25.cars and the drivers are at this part of the season, that you can go

:24:26. > :24:28.out and put yourself at a huge disadvantage, by going for the

:24:29. > :24:33.harder tyre, when everybody else, except Vettel, who is a separate

:24:34. > :24:38.case... I am sorry, this was a mistake by the team. They should not

:24:39. > :24:41.have done this. All sorts of people getting caught out by this track,

:24:42. > :24:46.because they have almost done too good a job on the grip, Pirelli did

:24:47. > :24:51.not expect it to be so grippy, and so marginal with the soft tyre. Full

:24:52. > :24:54.marks to Pirelli, they came here knowing that if they had gone with

:24:55. > :25:00.the tyres they had planned, it would've been a very boring one-stop

:25:01. > :25:03.race. , what we have now got is a situation where anything can happen,

:25:04. > :25:09.and I do not think it will be a one-stop race. Jenson Button was

:25:10. > :25:19.fastest in that previous session, so let's see what he can do in the next

:25:20. > :25:24.one. It is an gentleman, here is Q2. BEN EDWARDS: Gary, Lotus seemed to

:25:25. > :25:28.be reading that one wrong, were they trying to save the tyres for later

:25:29. > :25:35.on, it looks like a bit of a miscalculation? Yes, it was. They

:25:36. > :25:39.were sitting in that W area, they were going to be vulnerable. They

:25:40. > :25:42.should have run the other tyre, for sure, but I think he also made a

:25:43. > :25:47.mistake on his best lap. But you cannot put yourself in that kind of

:25:48. > :25:53.risk, when you know you are going to be borderline anyway. Let's see what

:25:54. > :25:59.is going to happen in this second part of qualifying, as the cars are

:26:00. > :26:03.already beginning to make their way down the pit lane. Alonso and

:26:04. > :26:07.Raikkonen have gone out already. I have just seen that Cardwell has

:26:08. > :26:20.been off but continued, that was Gutierrez. So, Alonso goes fastest.

:26:21. > :26:23.-- car 12. Ferrari are in a bit of a quandary, they have got to decide

:26:24. > :26:40.whether to go out again. Tom, what have you got? Ben, we know Q3 Q3,

:26:41. > :26:41.and we know that some teams are still doing some homework for the

:26:42. > :26:58.race. DAVID COULTHARD: He was able to open

:26:59. > :27:05.up the throttle very aggressively out of that corner. And he goes

:27:06. > :27:10.across the line in second. So, the two Ferraris very equally matched,

:27:11. > :27:15.as we have come to expect. A bit of brotherly support for Felipe Massa.

:27:16. > :27:28.And Rob Smedley keeping an eye on those lap times. Ricciardo was on a

:27:29. > :27:32.new set of the soft tyre. He has gone straight out and done a

:27:33. > :27:37.reasonably quick lap. Rosberg has just fastest in the first sector.

:27:38. > :27:41.This is the home race for the Indian-owned team, Force India,

:27:42. > :27:45.although it might be British-based. It is an important weekend for them.

:27:46. > :27:52.They have never had a great deal of success here, though. I think Adrian

:27:53. > :27:56.Sutil has done a good job. He is the quiet man of the paddock. Having

:27:57. > :28:01.spent a year away from Formula 1, he has come back and he just quietly

:28:02. > :28:04.gets on with driving quickly. He qualified eighth here a couple of

:28:05. > :28:09.years back. He was not here last year, and he has gone fifth for the

:28:10. > :28:13.moment, which is reasonably good. Rosberg has gone fastest. Now, we

:28:14. > :28:18.are seeing some really Hamilton, a little bit slower. It is fascinating

:28:19. > :28:21.to see the confrontation between Rosberg and Hamilton, and which of

:28:22. > :28:26.them will be the faster in qualifying. Hamilton has it in terms

:28:27. > :28:32.of the season so far, 10-5, I believe it is. But of course, Nico

:28:33. > :28:47.had some pole positions earlier on in the year.

:28:48. > :28:54.RADIO: I will keep talking, not sure if you can hear me, but I do like it

:28:55. > :29:00.if you can hear me. Sounds like radio problems at Ferrari. Now, what

:29:01. > :29:05.about Perez? He has gone out on a used set of the soft tyres, so he

:29:06. > :29:11.will have an initial run on these tyres and then presumably come back

:29:12. > :29:18.in and put on a brand-new set. He raced here last year for the Sauber

:29:19. > :29:24.team, qualifying in eighth place. That was a good performance. But his

:29:25. > :29:34.best finish actually came in 10th position. He did not finish last

:29:35. > :29:41.year. Looking pretty good so far. He does not go to wide out of turn 12.

:29:42. > :29:45.Perez, hopefully on target for getting into Q3. That is really the

:29:46. > :29:51.target for McLaren at the moment, getting into that top ten.

:29:52. > :29:58.DAVID COULTHARD: Yes, it is looking like a tidy lap. So, he is showing

:29:59. > :30:04.some confidence in the car. And he goes fifth fastest, but it is a

:30:05. > :30:10.marginal time, in terms of whether it will be enough. Button goes a bit

:30:11. > :30:16.quicker, again on a used set. I think that is good stuff for

:30:17. > :30:26.McLaren, if you look at what Alonso has done, as well as Mercedes. So,

:30:27. > :30:31.McLaren looking more competitive. Yes, McLaren did have a car

:30:32. > :30:35.qualifying second a couple of years ago, although Hamilton had to drop

:30:36. > :30:37.back to do a penalty. Getting both cars in the top ten has got to be

:30:38. > :30:47.their target for this weekend. It does rather make you think that

:30:48. > :30:51.Red Bulls are going for just one quick lap here. Yes, and it is

:30:52. > :30:56.interesting to see how slow everyone is driving. We saw it with Raikkonen

:30:57. > :31:00.earlier when his tyres were blue instead of the familiar orange when

:31:01. > :31:03.they are running at peak temperature and it is like the old days of

:31:04. > :31:07.qualifying when they used to tiptoe around the start of the lap and then

:31:08. > :31:09.let it all loose and expect the tyres to run out before the end of

:31:10. > :31:15.the lap. Yes. Well, both Red Bulls are out on

:31:16. > :31:24.a new set. They have decided to go for one lap. This is the first lap

:31:25. > :31:30.for Vettel on a set of new tyres. Down into turn one, it is a short

:31:31. > :31:36.apex. A little bit of hesitation as he opened the throttles there. It

:31:37. > :31:41.rises up into three. TEAM RADIO: That's a stunning lap,

:31:42. > :31:46.but we want to go for another run on a new set of option tyres.

:31:47. > :31:50.DAVID COULTHARD: McLaren expect the times to topple once everyone starts

:31:51. > :31:58.to get the new tyres on. We will get an indication from the Red Bulls as

:31:59. > :32:03.Mark Webber approaches turn four. They geared it nice and long for DRS

:32:04. > :32:09.in the race. It is interesting his first sector is quicker than Rosberg

:32:10. > :32:14.has done. He didn't do the extra shift down as he was going through

:32:15. > :32:24.was that 6 and 7. Oh, he is very wide there. That was all four

:32:25. > :32:30.wheels. It maybe questionable whether Charlie would consider that

:32:31. > :32:35.as to having gained advantage. He had to go further! That's the old

:32:36. > :32:38.racing driver within you arguing the case.

:32:39. > :32:42.It has gone up on the screen. It has been made aware to the stewards that

:32:43. > :32:48.he went off track. It might be something he has to answer for. He

:32:49. > :32:53.goes fastest of all with that and we are into quick territory. We are

:32:54. > :32:56.under the pole position time of last year for Sebastian Vettel in the

:32:57. > :33:02.year before though, they were quicker than that. 1.24.1 in the

:33:03. > :33:09.days where they had more exhaust effect on these cars. Our timing

:33:10. > :33:13.screen has frozen here so we are not seeing - it has just popped up now.

:33:14. > :33:18.Is this going to be the real indication, he was half a second up

:33:19. > :33:24.on Mark Webber in free practise like for like on tyres. Let's see if he

:33:25. > :33:28.is maintaining the same advantage. He has got the last corner to deal

:33:29. > :33:37.with and the acceleration and he is in the 1.24s. 1.24.568.

:33:38. > :33:41.TEAM RADIO: We will go again. Mark Webber is going again.

:33:42. > :33:49.It is because they think they might lose the lap time so they feel they

:33:50. > :33:53.have got to do it again. If I heard correctly from Jenson Button's team

:33:54. > :33:56.radio, that was a scrub set of options. I don't think they will be

:33:57. > :34:00.too digs appointed with that -- disappointed with that.

:34:01. > :34:04.No, that was a good lap. Raikkonen. Let's see whether we can get himself

:34:05. > :34:10.safe. He is on a brand-new set of the soft tyre. He moves up to third

:34:11. > :34:13.on a 1.25.1. That thud be safely through for Kimi Raikkonen. But in

:34:14. > :34:17.the drop zone at the moment we have Valtteri Bottas, Jean-Eric Vergne,

:34:18. > :34:22.Sutil, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg and Gutierrez who hasn't done a lap at

:34:23. > :34:26.all yet, but he has just come out of the pits on a brand-new set of the

:34:27. > :34:31.soft tyres. So I think they are all out there now to see what they can

:34:32. > :34:34.do. Certainly all of the ones that are challenging to get unthere. We

:34:35. > :34:40.have got a couple maybe who will decide that they have done enough,

:34:41. > :34:46.of course, Vettel comfortable. We are watching Fernando Alonso at the

:34:47. > :34:54.moment. He is a second slower, but he has his new tyres on. No is going

:34:55. > :34:58.to be the one that drops out of this session? It is tight from tenth

:34:59. > :35:04.place with Paul di Resta down over the next few cars to Sutil in 13th.

:35:05. > :35:11.They have got to find lap time on this final run of qualifying. Alonso

:35:12. > :35:17.is into the final part of qualifying. He has a 100% record

:35:18. > :35:25.this season of getting into the final part of qualifying. The track

:35:26. > :35:29.will be evolving with every lap the cars do. Putting more rubber down on

:35:30. > :35:35.the racing line. It is not used outside of Grand Prix weekend.

:35:36. > :35:50.Oversteer for Hulkenberg. He kept it tidy. It was nice to see he had, the

:35:51. > :35:53.reaction. Daniel Ricciardo is up on the timing. Ricciardo had an

:35:54. > :35:59.impressive run in qualifying throughout the seasonle. Just out

:36:00. > :36:06.matching his team-mate, Jean-Eric Vergne consistently. But let's see

:36:07. > :36:14.what he can do on this occasion. Hist best qualifying of the year was

:36:15. > :36:19.in Germany, sixth place. Sauber will be keeping an eye on Gutierrez. It

:36:20. > :36:22.could be interesting to see which of them get into the top ten. Here we

:36:23. > :36:27.go then. Let's see what Ricciardo achieved as the chequered flag is

:36:28. > :36:30.out? That's going to be tight. That's right around the cut off

:36:31. > :36:36.point so will he survive or not? On board now with Nico Hulkenberg. Can

:36:37. > :36:43.he get into Q3 he again? He has been in the points on four occasions.

:36:44. > :36:55.Across the line 1.25.3. Yes, that ofs a tidy lap. -- yes, that was a

:36:56. > :37:01.tidy lap. Sutil is out. He hasn't made it. He is 11th and he has ran

:37:02. > :37:06.out of laps. Jean-Eric Vergne is not in the top ten either. Ricciardo is

:37:07. > :37:12.not safe. Felipe Massa is on a lap. Perez moves up to seventh pushing

:37:13. > :37:16.Massa down, but Massa puts himself back into eighth place. Let's see

:37:17. > :37:22.what Paul di Resta is going to do here. Ricciardo has been pushed out.

:37:23. > :37:31.Hamilton only tenth at the moment as through goes di Resta. Di Resta is a

:37:32. > :37:35.fraction faster than his team-mate. Gutierrez completed a lap, but he is

:37:36. > :37:41.out and that means that Hamilton and just improving and Button ending up

:37:42. > :37:45.tenth fastest. Both McLarens made it through, but we have lost both of

:37:46. > :37:51.the Torro Rossos, the two Force Indias and we have lost the Williams

:37:52. > :38:01.of Valtteri Bottas and we have lost Esteban Gutierrez in his Sauber.

:38:02. > :38:07.There is a big gap between Hulkenberg and Gutierrez? Hulkenberg

:38:08. > :38:11.had a good run in the second half of the season, Gutierrez, of course,

:38:12. > :38:14.had a couple of good races, but not really you finding the car to the

:38:15. > :38:19.liking here this afternoon, but that's a good solid job from his

:38:20. > :38:26.team-mate. We were talking about Hulkenberg

:38:27. > :38:32.earlier. He is in a good place right now, isn't he snfrlt -- isn't he? He

:38:33. > :38:36.is thinking about the race. He is thinking about, OK, the qualifying,

:38:37. > :38:47.but he made the top ten. Really, he is in a strong position and the team

:38:48. > :38:49.is relishing it, aren't they? They are happy. It is high fives

:38:50. > :38:54.everywhere. No high fives for Romain Grosjean. A

:38:55. > :39:01.lot of doom and glam for him. We saw him walking through the paddock

:39:02. > :39:06.looking despondent. Let's see if Lee could actually cheer him up. Romain

:39:07. > :39:10.Grosjean we were surprised to see you, I imagine you were too. Did you

:39:11. > :39:15.think he had done enough? Well, I think we just missed the cut off

:39:16. > :39:20.time basically and everyone went quicker than we thought. Yeah, it

:39:21. > :39:26.wasn't the best thing to do today. It paid off in the last few races,

:39:27. > :39:32.but today for some reason, maybe we t weren't quick enough. Whose

:39:33. > :39:36.decision is it to go out on the tyres at that stage? It was a

:39:37. > :39:42.decision we took together. We were can have the dent we could do

:39:43. > :39:47.enough, but we got it wrong. It will be tough for him to get through?

:39:48. > :39:51.Tyres will play an important role and he has a couple of extra sets.

:39:52. > :39:54.If he decides to go flat out from the beginning, he has an extra set

:39:55. > :40:00.of tyres if he needs them. It is time for Q3. Here is your

:40:01. > :40:03.commentators. BEN EDWARDS: So the final part of

:40:04. > :40:12.qualifying and Sebastian Vettel is trying to maintain the 1 00% record.

:40:13. > :40:16.Mark Webber hasn't had his pace this weekend and these circuits,

:40:17. > :40:21.Sebastian Vettel always seems to extract more out of them, doesn't

:40:22. > :40:28.he? I wouldn't be surprised if he spends time at the design facility!

:40:29. > :40:32.He seems to go everywhere just quietly influencing things to his

:40:33. > :40:36.advantage, but I guess that's what great champions do.

:40:37. > :40:42.Now, the question now, of course, is what tyres is everyone going to go

:40:43. > :40:47.out on? Webber has gone on out on a new set of tyres. If you were

:40:48. > :40:50.running a Red Bull and lets say a McLaren?

:40:51. > :40:55.GARY ANDERSON: If I was Red Bull I would be on the medium tyre because

:40:56. > :41:02.I think they can qualify pretty well. Again, if I was in a McLaren,

:41:03. > :41:06.I would do the same. Decision would be who wants to go away with pole

:41:07. > :41:09.and who thinks they can fend-off tomorrow until that critical point

:41:10. > :41:15.comes. Somebody will go for the soft tyre,

:41:16. > :41:22.but I wonder who it would be? Well, McLaren would take glory after the

:41:23. > :41:25.season they had. Jenson was fastest in Q1.

:41:26. > :41:29.GARY ANDERSON: David, we see people using track extremities to the

:41:30. > :41:33.maximum. Do you think it is a bit much? I think the white lines are

:41:34. > :41:37.there to clearly define the racetrack. Charlie met the drivers

:41:38. > :41:41.and told them if you go out on to the artificial grass which is beyond

:41:42. > :41:46.the kerb, doesn't see how you can go any faster, therefore, you are not

:41:47. > :41:49.gaining an advantage. Christian Horner confirmed that from the

:41:50. > :41:54.conversation when we saw him running ride in his lap, he said he lost

:41:55. > :42:00.time. If you are questioning now because you think they should stay

:42:01. > :42:04.within the white lines. Why have the white lines? From our point of view,

:42:05. > :42:08.we know the rules because it is easy, isn't it? It is a good point.

:42:09. > :42:12.It is a good point. Thank you very much, Gary. Well, let's see what's

:42:13. > :42:17.going to be happening here in the final part of qualifying. Sebastian

:42:18. > :42:21.Vettel going for a 100% record, if they go for a different strategy, he

:42:22. > :42:26.might not have that chance, but he has gone out on a soft tyre. Maybe

:42:27. > :42:35.that tells us the story. Webber has gone out on the medium and Vettel on

:42:36. > :42:40.the softer tyre. He doesn't have time to do a lap and change tyres.

:42:41. > :42:44.He might be trying to put some people in the pit lane off the

:42:45. > :42:50.scent. You have got to get on with your own programme and know what is

:42:51. > :42:55.the best way to deliver points. Qualifying has a big impact in what

:42:56. > :42:59.happens in the race. Tom, what can you add? There is indecision as to

:43:00. > :43:04.what is the best tyre to start the race tomorrow. There is a lot of

:43:05. > :43:10.split strategies. McLaren put one out on each tyre and Mercedes have

:43:11. > :43:15.put one out on each tyre. Ditto Red Bull, so it will be fascinating to

:43:16. > :43:20.see how it plays out in the next few weekends z seconds.

:43:21. > :43:24.With splits between the individual teams. Alonso is on a quick lap

:43:25. > :43:29.here. The traffic is getting out of his way so far. He set a good

:43:30. > :43:36.sector, but he is on the harder of the two tyres. This isn't likely to

:43:37. > :43:39.be a fastest time overall. Oh, look at that. Very wide on the exit of

:43:40. > :43:44.12. He will probably get away with it

:43:45. > :43:51.and a big oversteer. That's total commitment. He gets away with it.

:43:52. > :43:55.Fantastic to watch Alonso on the limit again. As we have heard, he

:43:56. > :44:02.won't be penalised for that. Now he comes out of a last corner the car

:44:03. > :44:07.fidgeting around the lap. It is a 1.25.8 and he is on the harder of

:44:08. > :44:11.the two tyres. It is not a bad lap actually on that tyre because there

:44:12. > :44:15.is a second in the softer. On board now with Sebastian Vettel as he has

:44:16. > :44:19.gone on to his fast lap now and let's watch this one. He has got a

:44:20. > :44:28.decision to make is he going to commit to finishing this lap or he

:44:29. > :44:31.is going for it in the first two sectors and keeping an eye on what

:44:32. > :44:35.the opposition are doing and could bail into the pits and put on a set

:44:36. > :44:40.of primes, but we will find out in a minute's time. Well, he is certainly

:44:41. > :44:48.fast in the first sector. Nearly half a secretary up. He is on the

:44:49. > :44:52.soft tyre. It looks as if he is gunning for glory. He wants pole

:44:53. > :44:55.position. Whichever tyre you set your fastest lap on, is the tyre you

:44:56. > :44:59.have to start the race on. So if you were to go out and do a slower lap

:45:00. > :45:05.on the mediums, he would have to revert to these tyres to start the

:45:06. > :45:09.race. Well, he is in 15. We will find out shortly if he is going to

:45:10. > :45:14.complete the lap. He is looking good at the moment. A quick lap, yes. He

:45:15. > :45:22.is going to complete the lap. How fast is it going to be? It is a

:45:23. > :45:26.1.24.119. It is the fastest lap ever at the Buddh International Circuit.

:45:27. > :45:30.Mark Webber is on the different compound tyre. He is not near as

:45:31. > :45:36.quick, but it will be a crucial lap. 1.25.2. That's the difference then.

:45:37. > :45:40.Over a second, just over a second between the tyres and Vettel has a

:45:41. > :45:45.few tenths in him over Mark Webber around this track. Well, if Mark can

:45:46. > :45:49.keep that position, he will be feeling good going into the race

:45:50. > :45:52.tomorrow. There is zero degradation on the prime tyre.

:45:53. > :45:57.What about Mercedes? What can they do? Hamilton and Rosberg are about

:45:58. > :46:02.tomed could out -- about to come out. Hamilton heading down the pit

:46:03. > :46:06.lane at the moment. No, he is back into the pits. So we will wait to

:46:07. > :46:19.see what he does. He had gone out on a used set of tyres? Tom, what are

:46:20. > :46:24.you seeing? Kimi Raikkonen has just gone out on a new set of soft tyres.

:46:25. > :46:28.Let's not forget, he has struggled in qualifying for the last few

:46:29. > :46:34.races. He sees this as an opportunity, I think, to get higher

:46:35. > :46:40.up the grid. He is certainly going to be out qualifying his team-mate

:46:41. > :46:45.this time. Grosjean has been doing well very well in qualifying

:46:46. > :46:52.recently, but not this time, after not managing to get out of Q1. There

:46:53. > :46:57.is Kimi Raikkonen, as you say, on the soft tyre. He has gone for the

:46:58. > :47:07.Vettel strategy, if you like, a brand-new set of soft tyres. It

:47:08. > :47:13.looks like Mercedes are about to go on the option tyre as well. There is

:47:14. > :47:15.Nico Rosberg. That does not necessarily mean that Lewis Hamilton

:47:16. > :47:22.will do the same thing. We will wait to see. He is, apparently. Vettel is

:47:23. > :47:47.back in. Presumably we will not see him out again. I do not think he

:47:48. > :47:52.will feel threatened. How many laps do you think he will be able to go

:47:53. > :47:56.on the soft tyres tomorrow? Well, he did a run in free practice this

:47:57. > :48:00.morning, and put some fuelling, and I think that is what has given him

:48:01. > :48:03.the confidence to try to make it work. If he could get out close to

:48:04. > :48:11.ten laps or so tomorrow, and that will get him a healthy to the

:48:12. > :48:29.midfield. So, Kimi Raikkonen, already three tenths down on

:48:30. > :48:32.Sebastian Vettel's fastest. Kimi Raikkonen is not going to be such a

:48:33. > :48:41.big threat, but he's should still be able to get himself somewhere near

:48:42. > :48:44.the front. He was saying yesterday, he was struggling with the

:48:45. > :48:48.limitations on tyre pressures and cameras that have been introduced,

:48:49. > :48:53.preventing him get the exact balance that he wants on the car. There he

:48:54. > :48:57.goes, only third. So, he does not manage to beat Webber, which is a

:48:58. > :49:07.huge story, because he is on the soft tyre, and yet Webber is still

:49:08. > :49:13.faster than Raikkonen. You can see McLaren playing the longer game,

:49:14. > :49:17.also going out on the prime tyre. Jenson will be hoping that his silky

:49:18. > :49:28.smooth driving will enable him to stay out longer before the first

:49:29. > :49:37.stop tomorrow. Vettel HAS gone back out, which is interesting. I cannot

:49:38. > :49:42.see why he would be any under under threat, and Mercedes suddenly spring

:49:43. > :49:48.something which we have not seen previously in qualifying. Yes, there

:49:49. > :49:56.a hidden pace? Looking at the first split from Rosberg, not really. He

:49:57. > :50:00.is down on Vettel's time. Raikkonen moving out of his way there. No

:50:01. > :50:07.doubt he would have heard on the radio that there was somebody coming

:50:08. > :50:19.up behind him. Absolutely, the race but he is a gentleman racer. -- the

:50:20. > :50:25.race engineers would have told him. Into the final turn, is this enough

:50:26. > :50:29.to put him on the front row? And he does go second, and here comes

:50:30. > :50:36.Hamilton... Has he gone quicker than his team-mate? Can he bump him off

:50:37. > :50:40.front row? No, he can't, Rosberg quicker than Hamilton in their final

:50:41. > :50:50.run for Mike. Hamilton currently third fastest. -- in their final

:50:51. > :50:56.runs. Massa could be one to watch, he is on the softer tyre, and

:50:57. > :51:03.Hulkenberg as well. This is going to be a very mixed upgrade. This has

:51:04. > :51:22.pushed Webber down. Jenson Button, that is another steady lap from him.

:51:23. > :51:32.Perez has just gone a fraction faster than Jenson. I think that

:51:33. > :51:36.shows that Jenson has, either by strategy or buy a mistake around the

:51:37. > :51:40.lap, given away some performance. Massa has come up to fifth, but has

:51:41. > :51:46.not been able to challenge the Mercedes. Alonso stays eighth, so he

:51:47. > :51:49.has been out qualified once again, by his team-mate, but remember, he

:51:50. > :51:55.is on different tyres, so it does not really count. Alonso on the

:51:56. > :52:02.harder compound, is coming behind the Sauber of Hulkenberg, who was on

:52:03. > :52:06.the softer tyre. That might be worrying for Alonso, bearing in mind

:52:07. > :52:18.that he has spent quite a bit of time behind Hulkenberg in the last

:52:19. > :52:24.two Grand Prix. He has indeed. He has done it, he has got a 100%

:52:25. > :52:28.record in India. Every race we have been here, three now, he has taken

:52:29. > :52:32.pole position. It is the sixth consecutive pole position for Red

:52:33. > :52:41.Bull. And now they have equalled Assaidi 's on eight for the season.

:52:42. > :52:45.-- Mercedes. It just keeps on going for Sebastian Vettel, and surely, it

:52:46. > :52:48.is another major step towards that fourth title. So, let's confirmed

:52:49. > :53:12.that provisional grid for tomorrow. Let's hear from the main players

:53:13. > :53:19.from today. I like this track, we have been phenomenal yesterday and

:53:20. > :53:23.today. We did not have to change the setup too much. I think we worked

:53:24. > :53:26.pretty well on the simulator before coming here, trying to get

:53:27. > :53:31.everything right, and the balance was very strong straightaway. That

:53:32. > :53:35.is only a bonus, if you have a car which does what you want and follows

:53:36. > :53:39.your steering input the way you like. Yes, you are always able to

:53:40. > :53:47.squeeze out probably a little bit more. But for tomorrow, it is a long

:53:48. > :53:52.race, especially if we look at the different strategies. I think it

:53:53. > :53:56.could be an interesting one. The aim this weekend was to be best of the

:53:57. > :54:00.rest, even beating Mark today, because he is on a different

:54:01. > :54:06.strategy, is good. It has been a really demanding weekend, because we

:54:07. > :54:11.just completely went crazy and wild on setup and things, in search of a

:54:12. > :54:16.couple of tenths, which other people seem to have found in recent races.

:54:17. > :54:27.Looking at it, we found it, and it all worked out. And the setup is to

:54:28. > :54:30.my liking, for now. Those guys on the harder tyre will go much further

:54:31. > :54:36.than us, apart from problem is a Bastian. But we will do the best we

:54:37. > :54:44.can. We want to stay ahead of everybody, so as team-mates, we have

:54:45. > :54:47.got to try to build a road block. Fernando, for a driver who wants to

:54:48. > :54:52.be as high up the grid as possible, does it hurt a little bit to put on

:54:53. > :54:57.the harder tyres and try to play the long game for tomorrow? Not really,

:54:58. > :55:02.we are here to help the team. We are not sure which strategy is the best

:55:03. > :55:07.one, the soft or the harder tyre, so we decided at least one of the cars

:55:08. > :55:12.would be in the good strategy tomorrow. The main goal is to score

:55:13. > :55:17.more points than Mercedes, and this was the best possibility for us. You

:55:18. > :55:23.went out on the harder tyre, is that a strategy call for tomorrow? It

:55:24. > :55:27.definitely wasn't the qualifying probably is the right strategy call,

:55:28. > :55:33.but it hurts, because the option run was really good, quickest in Q1, and

:55:34. > :55:37.then Q2 on the old tyre, I think I was second or something, so it was

:55:38. > :55:41.looking quite good. So, it hurts being on the prime tyre, your heart

:55:42. > :55:47.says, you want to see what you can do, but it is maybe not correct. I

:55:48. > :55:51.find it really difficult on the prime tyre, because I could not get

:55:52. > :55:55.any temperature in the tyre. The first sector, I was about half a

:55:56. > :56:03.second off other people on the primes. Sebastian Vettel, his third

:56:04. > :56:08.consecutive pole position in India, that guy is in his own championship,

:56:09. > :56:12.isn't he? He is indeed. We were talking about greatness, and if you

:56:13. > :56:19.need a firm example of greatness, in India, no one has ever been better

:56:20. > :56:23.than him. He is absolutely immaculate his record is

:56:24. > :56:31.sensational, and then he goes out and as a lap record today, it is

:56:32. > :56:35.extraordinary. And he gets the machine out and cools down the rear

:56:36. > :56:39.brakes. I am not even sure that is 100% legal, because he was

:56:40. > :56:44.interfering with the car, although he was not physically touching it.

:56:45. > :56:49.But leaving that aside for one moment, he has demonstrated beyond

:56:50. > :56:52.any doubt that he is the master craftsman here, and he has

:56:53. > :56:57.frightened all of the other drivers and teams into making different

:56:58. > :57:01.strategies and race plans. Clearly, that is what the others have had to

:57:02. > :57:09.do, Mark Webber going out on the harder tyre. Fantastic. Mark could

:57:10. > :57:13.be just the guy. He is going to start the race on hard tyres, and

:57:14. > :57:17.for sure, Vettel will have to stop very quickly, so how will he get

:57:18. > :57:22.back into the pack? That is their only hope, where does Vettel get

:57:23. > :57:25.back in, and will he be stopped in his tracks guess my guess is that he

:57:26. > :57:31.will have pulled out a bit of a gap at the beginning, but Mark could

:57:32. > :57:35.have a really good run for this. What about Mercedes? I they just

:57:36. > :57:40.went for the glory on the Saturday, with the softer tyre. I think Mark

:57:41. > :57:44.is in a stronger position than them. It certainly will not be Roman

:57:45. > :57:51.Grosjean, but what about Fernando Alonso, has he got a chance? No, I

:57:52. > :57:56.do not think so. It is more of the same, lacklustre qualifying, he will

:57:57. > :57:59.be great in the race, but he has to finish first or second, so can you

:58:00. > :58:03.see him doing that? From eighth on the grid, I cannot make up my mind,

:58:04. > :58:09.he is a great racing driver, but I do not think so. We will be live

:58:10. > :58:13.tomorrow on BBC One. Don't forget, the clocks go back so you get an

:58:14. > :58:17.extra hour in bed. We will be here with all of the action, and then we

:58:18. > :58:19.will have it all again for you at two o'clock in the afternoon.

:58:20. > :58:21.with all of the action, and then we will have it all again for you Thank

:58:22. > :58:29.you for watching qualifying. See you for the race tomorrow.
