:00:17. > :00:32.that? Red Bull are back. This is Formula one. Race eight, Austria.

:00:33. > :00:39.Breeders Leon Formula one. What was that? Red Bull are back. This is

:00:40. > :01:23.Hello and welcome to this glorious setting for the Austrian Grand Prix.

:01:24. > :01:26.Back on the calendar after an 11 year absence. Over the years, this

:01:27. > :01:31.track has undergone various face-lifts and it's now known as the

:01:32. > :01:34.bell -- the Red Bull Ring. A different name but the same

:01:35. > :01:39.picturesque mountains surrounding this amphitheatre style arena.

:01:40. > :01:44.Today, it is the home of almost 100,000 fans. The sun is beating

:01:45. > :01:45.down and already this place has provided a complete shock.

:01:46. > :01:59.Qualifying yesterday, wow! Following a break of 11 years,

:02:00. > :02:06.Formula one is back in Austria. They have shown themselves that they are

:02:07. > :02:10.in the first few places on the grid. Williams are strong, who will

:02:11. > :02:15.conquer the demanding Red Bull Ring? He is off! Just getting back on. Oh,

:02:16. > :02:20.my goodness. Exceeded the track limits that turn eight. He is

:02:21. > :02:25.proving to be quite tough out there for Red Bull. Is this enough for top

:02:26. > :02:31.ten? No, it is not, but fails as well. Sebastian Vettel has failed to

:02:32. > :02:35.get through into the top ten. The final part of qualifying here in

:02:36. > :02:39.Austria. It is going to be a duel for pole position once more between

:02:40. > :02:44.Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg and we'll keep an eye on the Williams

:02:45. > :02:48.cars of both Bottas and Martha. For them to beat Mercedes is a tall

:02:49. > :02:54.order today. A great first lap by Valtteri Bottas. A long time since

:02:55. > :03:00.Felipe Massa has had a pole position. He goes second-fastest. On

:03:01. > :03:04.track to beat Bottas' time. He has gone wide, that is it, the end of

:03:05. > :03:11.that lap. We'll have to give that time up. The pressure is on. He has

:03:12. > :03:16.to try to get the pole position. Rosberg, a great lap, a quick lap,

:03:17. > :03:20.not quick enough to beat Bottas. Hamilton has to get a lap in now

:03:21. > :03:26.because at the moment he is ninth. Oh, Hamilton has lost it! He has not

:03:27. > :03:30.set a lap time and this is crucial in terms of his World Championship

:03:31. > :03:35.hopes of course as well. He's gone fastest, fastest of all, Felipe

:03:36. > :03:42.Massa. Felipe Massa did an amazing lap, one of the best I've seen him

:03:43. > :03:48.do. He is in the middle sector. He is off the front row entirely.

:03:49. > :03:53.Really an emotional day is, for me, for Williams. And Williams have not

:03:54. > :03:58.only got a pole position, they've got the entire front row! This is

:03:59. > :04:05.unbelievable! Everyone is in a bit of shock still but it is so amazing.

:04:06. > :04:10.A great lap, a great lap. This is where we want to be, doing this

:04:11. > :04:17.every race. Very happy, I was missing this place. Oh, David, what

:04:18. > :04:20.a day it was yesterday. Everyone was popping and fizzing, so excited. It

:04:21. > :04:24.was incredible to see and people have such a lot of love for

:04:25. > :04:29.Williams, haven't they? Absolutely, they have had a rough time of late.

:04:30. > :04:32.They got a winner couple of years ago but it seemed a flash in the

:04:33. > :04:36.pan. They have been looking good this season. They have

:04:37. > :04:40.underdelivered somewhat with the results but they are set up for a

:04:41. > :04:46.chance of winning this Grand Prix. We will get some more Internet now.

:04:47. > :04:49.Let's talk to Rob Smedley, who has a personal history with Felipe Massa.

:04:50. > :04:55.Yesterday, you must have been really proud. He seemed to put it together,

:04:56. > :04:59.didn't he? He did, he did a great lap, especially his middle sector

:05:00. > :05:03.which was stunning. It was like the old days watching that. The first

:05:04. > :05:06.sector was a bit iffy, we talked about it afterwards. The second

:05:07. > :05:13.sector, when you saw that come through, I thought, that is a fairly

:05:14. > :05:16.good sector. I knew he would be on for pole with that. This team has a

:05:17. > :05:21.winning history, you have a quick car, a quick car and a driver that

:05:22. > :05:26.can win. What can trip you up today, if anything? We have to bear in mind

:05:27. > :05:29.that the Mercedes did not exploit fully their car yesterday. I think

:05:30. > :05:35.they will have a very quick car today, even with Lewis back where he

:05:36. > :05:39.is. I think he will cut through the field and causes some problems. Nico

:05:40. > :05:43.Rosberg is starting just behind with a cook the car. We have to be

:05:44. > :05:48.mindful of that. What else can trip us up? Lots of things, the list is

:05:49. > :05:53.endless. You guys were fast through the speed trap yesterday. Will the

:05:54. > :05:56.boys be going out and driving defensively? Or will this be an

:05:57. > :06:02.attacking race to get out there and stay at the front? If you look at

:06:03. > :06:08.the key points of the race strategy, it has got to be to try to pull a

:06:09. > :06:12.gap in the first sting. If we can pull a gap in that, to the people

:06:13. > :06:15.behind us, or at least the people we are fighting within the

:06:16. > :06:19.championship, it will make our lives easier. They have got to go for it

:06:20. > :06:24.but they have to look after the tyres. It is never easy. What is the

:06:25. > :06:31.difference between a privateer team and work team, like Ferrari? We are

:06:32. > :06:36.smaller. We have to spend money much more efficiently. There is no doubt

:06:37. > :06:40.about that. We have less people. But the way that the team is organised,

:06:41. > :06:48.or is being organised, is very efficient. It is not with 20% less

:06:49. > :06:52.people we are doing 20% less of the work. In fact, we are probably doing

:06:53. > :06:57.a similar amount of work. There is less money to spend.

:06:58. > :07:02.a similar amount of work. There is obvious, really. You are certainly

:07:03. > :07:06.at the front today, going at the right place. Have you got a pair of

:07:07. > :07:11.lederhosen? I haven't, Amanda won't put a pair on! We wish you all the

:07:12. > :07:16.best, it would be great to see you up there at the end. Williams

:07:17. > :07:19.lock-out front row of the grid for the first time in Germany -- for the

:07:20. > :07:25.first time since Germany, in 2003. Let's look at how they line up.

:07:26. > :07:29.Behind the Williams, Nico Rosberg heads the second row alongside

:07:30. > :07:33.Fernando Alonso comer who equalled his best qualifying performance this

:07:34. > :07:36.year. Daniel Ricciardo has outqualified Sebastian Vettel for

:07:37. > :07:44.the sixth time. Kevin Magnussen looks to be back in six. Daniil

:07:45. > :07:48.Kvyat putted Toro Rosso in seventh spot with Kimi Raikkonen alongside.

:07:49. > :07:53.Lewis Hamilton is in ninth after not registering a viable lap yesterday.

:07:54. > :07:56.The Force India of Nico Hulkenberg rounds out the top ten. Jenson

:07:57. > :08:02.Button's troubled McLaren will start 11, Sebastian Vettel 12, from the

:08:03. > :08:06.dirty side of the grid. Pasta and Albert outqualified Romain Grosjean

:08:07. > :08:11.for the first time, going from 13th. Perez starts in 15th after a grid

:08:12. > :08:16.penalty for causing a collision in Canada. He is ahead of the Sauber

:08:17. > :08:20.is, the Caterhams and Max Chilton has a penalty and Romain Grosjean

:08:21. > :08:24.drops five places from 15th, a penalty for changing a gearbox

:08:25. > :08:29.overnight. He has elected to start from the pit lane. So a few drivers

:08:30. > :08:33.out of position, which always makes for fascinating viewing. This is a

:08:34. > :08:38.cheeky little track that can bite back. It is. It is the same distance

:08:39. > :08:43.as Canada but about 15 seconds quicker because there are eight

:08:44. > :08:48.usable corners. Elevation change, blind corners, it leads to drivers

:08:49. > :08:51.having difficulty and expect a few mistakes. There were drivers caught

:08:52. > :08:57.out in qualifying, especially around turn eight. It is a blind entry in

:08:58. > :09:02.fast corner. Lewis Hamilton running wide with to us. Pretty much every

:09:03. > :09:05.team and driver had a little excursion. It is because they have

:09:06. > :09:12.to commit to the corner with such speed. There is a rare mistake but

:09:13. > :09:16.not as bad as Alonso there. How do you stop that happening? They need

:09:17. > :09:19.to make sure they don't gain an advantage from it but because it is

:09:20. > :09:26.a high-speed corner they haven't put down a curb, like you see on the

:09:27. > :09:29.exit of turn one. They have to tell the drivers they will be punished if

:09:30. > :09:34.they gain an advantage. Lewis has qualified in ninth position. He did

:09:35. > :09:38.not get a viable lap in. We saw him on turn eight and this happened.

:09:39. > :09:42.This is turn two, the highest point. He said there was nothing

:09:43. > :09:47.amiss with the car but what I find difficult to understand, straight

:09:48. > :09:51.line breaking, uphill, breaking from 200 miles an hour which gets you

:09:52. > :09:56.attention but it gets you -- it is unusual to see a driver lose in a

:09:57. > :10:00.straight line. Right on the limit of his Wright balance and recovery

:10:01. > :10:05.system as he hit the brakes. That leads him with so much to do,

:10:06. > :10:09.knowing he has that deficit in the championship. A lot of pressure on

:10:10. > :10:14.his shoulders. The pressure was there when he went into qualifying.

:10:15. > :10:20.He made a mistake on his first run, we had one run to get the pole

:10:21. > :10:24.auntie locked up. Visibly he is looking quite calm and collected but

:10:25. > :10:29.he is making mistakes. If he doesn't do well here, it will have a

:10:30. > :10:34.long-term cause. He is slipping behind his team-mate. We will not

:10:35. > :10:37.see them win all the races, that has been neutralised with what happened

:10:38. > :10:42.with Daniel Ricciardo Canada. Williams are in a good position.

:10:43. > :10:46.Mercedes, it is a tough battle between them but Lewis is slipping

:10:47. > :10:52.behind. Let's have a look at how they line up in the standings. Lewis

:10:53. > :10:59.now has to make up a 22 point deficit on Nico Rosberg to draw

:11:00. > :11:02.level. Daniel Ricciardo leads the Red Bull charging third. His

:11:03. > :11:08.team-mate is 19 points away in fifth, with Fernando Alonso in

:11:09. > :11:13.between. Bottas and Massa are eighth and 11th respectively. Frank

:11:14. > :11:17.Williams' team holds six spot on the constructors table, eight points

:11:18. > :11:22.away from McLaren. At the sharp end, Mercedes is conducting proceedings

:11:23. > :11:27.with a healthy 119 point gap over current champions Red Bull. As ever,

:11:28. > :11:33.strategy will play a huge part. It is a 71 lap battle. One of -- what

:11:34. > :11:37.the team is saying? There are two main concerns, fuel consumption is

:11:38. > :11:42.not going to be as marginal here as it was in Montreal. It is still

:11:43. > :11:47.going to need careful management from the pit and by the drivers. And

:11:48. > :11:52.of course tyres. We have the same tyre compounds as Canada. It will be

:11:53. > :11:54.difficult to make one stop work. Several drivers tried in Montreal

:11:55. > :12:00.but we have faster corners here, particularly in the second half of

:12:01. > :12:07.the lap. I am expecting the front runners to go for two stops, lap 12

:12:08. > :12:11.and around lap 40, but if there is a safety car the battle changes. We

:12:12. > :12:16.have had safety car periods in the last four Grand Prix Final anything

:12:17. > :12:20.can happen. Of course, this is Formula one after all! The cars are

:12:21. > :12:25.in position, the drivers are on the grid and so are David and Lee.

:12:26. > :12:27.A new ground for you, are you feeling chilled ahead of this? Yes,

:12:28. > :12:34.a great day yesterday, feeling chilled ahead of this? Yes,

:12:35. > :12:38.do a good job today. It will be difficult. A strong Mercedes behind

:12:39. > :12:42.but we will do the best we can. Any words of encouragement for your son?

:12:43. > :12:48.Yes, I hope we do have everything ready for the race. Good luck.

:12:49. > :12:53.You are running back to P2, a great feeling, but the battle starts. What

:12:54. > :12:57.are the chances for today? It starts, there is no point for our

:12:58. > :13:02.result yesterday. We have good chances to get on the podium, for

:13:03. > :13:06.the win. I don't know yet, it will be difficult but we will do our best

:13:07. > :13:10.to take the Mercedes cars behind us as long as possible. I hope you are

:13:11. > :13:14.still smiling after the race, thanks.

:13:15. > :13:21.Daniil Kvyat, you are feeling relaxed? Yes, it was good qualifying

:13:22. > :13:26.but the races today. We do our best. We try to beat the guys that start

:13:27. > :13:31.in front of us and then we see where we are. What are you expecting the

:13:32. > :13:35.strategist to be? There is different strategies but I think there is not

:13:36. > :13:36.too many options and I think we have to monitor the situation really

:13:37. > :13:47.well. Lewis Hamilton has it all today.

:13:48. > :13:49.What about the boys in front, team Williams? Can make it the rest of

:13:50. > :14:12.the field behind them, that is the question.

:14:13. > :14:18.The last time Williams started from pole position in Austria it went on

:14:19. > :14:24.to win, in the hands of Jacques Villeneuve, 17 years ago. Today

:14:25. > :14:32.Felipe Massa leads the formation lap for the first time in nearly six

:14:33. > :14:37.years, and the Mercedes cars start down in third place. Hamilton is

:14:38. > :14:41.years, and the Mercedes cars start done in ninth place. A lot of work

:14:42. > :14:47.for him today. Let's get a bit of an update from the pit lane. We have

:14:48. > :14:49.seen most of the frontrunners are starting on the super soft tyre but

:14:50. > :14:54.Jenson Button has chosen to go for the harder tyre.

:14:55. > :15:02.That could be a very smart move. The soft tyre has a higher working

:15:03. > :15:06.temperature. It is more resilient. We are 10 degrees hotter than at any

:15:07. > :15:11.other time during this weekend could Jenson Button sit out there for up

:15:12. > :15:12.to 30 laps, be sitting pretty, then bang on the super soft tyre for a

:15:13. > :15:16.quick middle to 30 laps, be sitting pretty, then

:15:17. > :15:19.bang on the stint and for the final stint, it will be fascinating to

:15:20. > :15:24.watch is progress. Mercedes lead the way in the

:15:25. > :15:28.Constructors' Championship. Force India a bit of threat from Williams.

:15:29. > :15:32.They might be behind McLaren at the moment but they have got two cars at

:15:33. > :15:39.the front. McLaren have got one car in the top ten. Jenson Button

:15:40. > :15:42.outside the top ten. In the Drivers' Championship it is all about Rosberg

:15:43. > :15:48.and Hamilton. Rosberg coming into this race with a 22 point advantage

:15:49. > :15:52.over his Lewis Hamilton, and an opportunity to further extend that

:15:53. > :15:57.need today. It is a tight circuit. The first quarter will be demanding

:15:58. > :16:03.as they climb up the hill. Will they all get round safely? We

:16:04. > :16:10.have also seen problems at ten two, there have been some fairly

:16:11. > :16:15.spectacular accidents. It is very easy for the pole man

:16:16. > :16:24.going into turn to to make a mistake and run into the guy in second.

:16:25. > :16:35.The test and Fulham and driver for Williams, he won the GPT race

:16:36. > :16:40.yesterday. -- GP two race. Claire Williams is the deputy team

:16:41. > :16:45.principal. What an opportunity for the team. They are aware Sadie is

:16:46. > :16:52.potentially still have a faster car. Mercedes didn't really deliver what

:16:53. > :16:58.they could have done yesterday, Lewis Hamilton.

:16:59. > :17:05.Nico is reporting a lot of oversteer and Hamilton confirmed that.

:17:06. > :17:11.It could have been a brake balance issue yesterday. Let's see what

:17:12. > :17:17.happens in the Austrian Grand Prix for top --. Lights out, away we go.

:17:18. > :17:21.Felipe Massa getting away well, and excellent start from Nico Rosberg,

:17:22. > :17:27.up into second place ahead of Bottas. Ricciardo gets squeezed out

:17:28. > :17:35.wide. That might have been with Magnussen. He went over that kerb,

:17:36. > :17:42.he is under pressure from the Toro Rosso. Hamilton has made a great

:17:43. > :17:51.start. A fantastic start, in fifth place already. He is charging his

:17:52. > :17:54.way up from the ninth on the grid. Hamilton now tucking in behind the

:17:55. > :18:00.Ferrari of Fernando Alonso. We ride on board the Toro Rosso of Daniil

:18:01. > :18:09.Kvyat and Hulkenberg has gone ahead of him. Bottas has got the place

:18:10. > :18:14.back from Rosberg. Kvyat took that opportunity, got past the forced

:18:15. > :18:22.India. -- the Force India. What a good getaway. Hamilton is having a

:18:23. > :18:27.go. He goes straight through, doesn't one white on the exit.

:18:28. > :18:31.Fantastic overtake, one of the most difficult corners on this track,

:18:32. > :18:37.going on the inside and cited. Alonso decides not to fight it.

:18:38. > :18:46.Hamilton is one position behind Nico Rosberg, would you believe that?

:18:47. > :18:49.They started third and ninth. Nico must be looking in his mirrors

:18:50. > :18:57.thinking, how did he do that? Sergio Perez on the move, 11th place

:18:58. > :19:03.already. Attacking Daniel Kvyat. Problems for Sebastian Vettel. It is

:19:04. > :19:09.turning into a miserable weekend for him. A couple of non-finishes this

:19:10. > :19:17.year. I lost drive, tell me what to do. Switch off, by the look of it.

:19:18. > :19:22.It looks like it is all over again. He went out of the Monaco Grand Prix

:19:23. > :19:25.before Canada, went at the straining Grand Prix. His miserable season

:19:26. > :19:31.continues, dropping down to the tail of the field. Up front it is Massa

:19:32. > :19:35.who leads for Williams from Bottas in second race, Rosberg in third,

:19:36. > :19:39.Hamilton in fourth. Beginning to close upon his team-mate already for

:19:40. > :19:45.the Alonso is in fifth, Magnussen six, Raikkonen seventh, Hulkenberg

:19:46. > :19:49.in eighth, Sebastian Vettel is coasting, there is nothing they can

:19:50. > :19:58.do to help them. Hands in despair. Doesn't look like he is India. -- in

:19:59. > :20:03.gear. It looks as though his race is run

:20:04. > :20:06.already and we are only just into this race. The two Williams out in

:20:07. > :20:12.front, then to Mercedes. Rosberg and Hamilton, Kevin Magnussen in sixth

:20:13. > :20:19.position. There is Sebastian Vettel abandoning his car. He has got it

:20:20. > :20:25.going it is a reset. He has now got some pace and Sunday. Of course he

:20:26. > :20:31.will have to let everybody through. He has managed to stop the car, put

:20:32. > :20:38.it through a reset. The Toro Rosso going off the circuit. Difficult to

:20:39. > :20:49.see it what was going on for stop --. Ricciardo is busy in the group

:20:50. > :20:53.chasing down Hulkenberg. He is just in front of Paris, ended up losing

:20:54. > :21:00.out. Definitely lost some places, so we will keep an eye on Daniel

:21:01. > :21:08.Ricciardo as we continue round. For some reason I have got drive again.

:21:09. > :21:13.Suddenly is working for Sebastian Vettel. Let's look at Felipe

:21:14. > :21:24.Massa's start. Hamilton as well got fantastic drive up through the

:21:25. > :21:27.middle. He was able to get a good position as Daniel Ricciardo gets

:21:28. > :21:34.pushed out over the yellow kerb, Hamilton just hanging back, getting

:21:35. > :21:40.a great drive up into turn to. Gutierrez at the start of the Grand

:21:41. > :21:43.Prix exploiting that power of the Mercedes. Having a think about

:21:44. > :21:47.Fernando Alonso who gets in space. That is how he was slow on the next

:21:48. > :22:00.run down to turn three. There is Hamilton blasting past Kvyat. He did

:22:01. > :22:03.not get a launched at all well. Fairly even between Williams and

:22:04. > :22:07.Mercedes, all have the same power unit. That is right. Great 's start

:22:08. > :22:20.from Massa, gave him some clean air. Williams exploiting that increased

:22:21. > :22:24.top speed that they have on the car. We saw it in Canada as well. They

:22:25. > :22:29.are somehow managing to get a balance well not running a great

:22:30. > :22:39.deal of drug. Normally downforce equals drag. The DRS now enabled,

:22:40. > :22:42.and the straight and also on the top straight between tens two and

:22:43. > :22:48.three. Locale closer Hamilton is to the back of Nico Rosberg stop this

:22:49. > :22:52.will be at medallist tussle between the two Williams team-mate and

:22:53. > :23:01.Mercedes team-mates. Go racing, Sebastian. He is last. Do not press

:23:02. > :23:10.overtake at all. I haven't. Understood. Do not visit for the

:23:11. > :23:19.rest of the race. That is worrying for them. We think the failure was

:23:20. > :23:24.to do with the use of the overtake Button. That is presumably why they

:23:25. > :23:28.were telling Daniel Ricciardo to steer clear of it at all costs.

:23:29. > :23:30.Hulkenberg has comment in the Force India. Pit stops have been improving

:23:31. > :23:31.generally Hulkenberg has comment in the Force

:23:32. > :23:40.India. Pit stops for Force India in the last 12 months. Paolo Bettini.

:23:41. > :23:45.Where does it bring him out? Towards the back of the field. Kobayashi is

:23:46. > :23:48.leading the Marussia Caterham struggle goes on we can, we. He is

:23:49. > :24:02.currently 16th, Yankee 17th. He is holding off the likes of

:24:03. > :24:08.Daniel Ricciardo and Sergio Perez. Perez is on the better time. Those

:24:09. > :24:12.yellow marked soft tyres should be the ones to be on.

:24:13. > :24:26.They have got a much better expected life. In terms of to stop racing

:24:27. > :24:34.this afternoon, Raikkonen was released. Magnussen has comment.

:24:35. > :24:39.Several coming in. Magnussen, Kvyat and Ricciardo all coming in on the

:24:40. > :24:41.same lap. This is to stop territory, a little bit earlier than what would

:24:42. > :24:47.be ideal, but you have just a little bit earlier than what would

:24:48. > :24:49.react to what the tyres are giving you.

:24:50. > :24:57.I love leased by Ricciardo, it will be close as he goes out -- a lovely

:24:58. > :25:05.start. Tight at the top of the pit lane, only room for one car. Kvyat

:25:06. > :25:10.just got out in front, that must have been very close. The Red Bull

:25:11. > :25:19.pit stop was quicker than the Toro Rosso's. Hulkenberg has already made

:25:20. > :25:23.a pit stop. These guys are racing hard, still Sebastian Vettel behind

:25:24. > :25:28.this group. Sebastian Vettel had the problem earlier on. Still right at

:25:29. > :25:34.the back of the field. We have still got all 22 cars running on 12 out of

:25:35. > :25:38.71. We have had forecast already gone

:25:39. > :25:44.wide. Rosberg in, a crucial start for

:25:45. > :25:48.Rosberg. He gets first call, the first stop. 2.6 seconds, his in and

:25:49. > :25:54.out maps will be crucial. first stop. 2.6 seconds, his in and

:25:55. > :26:01.Hamilton has just in a personal best in the third sector. Hamilton knows

:26:02. > :26:05.how important it is that his next lap is one of his very best. Nico

:26:06. > :26:11.will get the advantage of the slipstream from the McLaren. Looking

:26:12. > :26:15.for absolutely everything. Let's see what happened to Ricciardo

:26:16. > :26:19.as Kvyat came out. It was close. Questionable about

:26:20. > :26:22.whether the car was released. There are markers on the big wall which

:26:23. > :26:26.give the team managers and those responsible for releasing a car

:26:27. > :26:31.whether it is safe to do so. That was right on the limit.

:26:32. > :26:36.That was marginal, I wonder if the stewards will take a look at that.

:26:37. > :26:44.Hamilton, middle sector not quite as quick. Presumably he will be coming

:26:45. > :26:48.in. Hamilton stays up there. They have to stay within the white

:26:49. > :26:54.line before entering turn eight. That does affect quite a lot of the

:26:55. > :27:07.speed. Charlie White are feeling it is not a safe area.

:27:08. > :27:12.speed. Charlie White are feeling it to close the gap to Rosberg. He is

:27:13. > :27:16.getting the slipstream from Bottas. He will start to lose time as he

:27:17. > :27:17.gets too much bigger box. This is a very

:27:18. > :27:21.He will start to lose time as he gets too much bigger box. important

:27:22. > :27:26.time, whether Mercedes are doing a slightly different strategy.

:27:27. > :27:27.Difficult to do anything very different this

:27:28. > :27:29.slightly different strategy. Difficult to do anything weekend on

:27:30. > :27:34.board with Lewis Hamilton, as we come into the infield section. Very

:27:35. > :27:36.difficult to overtake here for top this is encouraging news for

:27:37. > :27:46.Williams. We have got a problem for the Sauber

:27:47. > :27:52.of Gutierrez. He was on his way out having changed onto the soft tyre

:27:53. > :27:59.but now being pushed back. Income is Hamilton. Here we go. Crucial in lap

:28:00. > :28:04.for him. Locale hard he is trying. Rosberg has gone purple in the first

:28:05. > :28:07.sector. That is only a tenth quicker than his personal best. Getting the

:28:08. > :28:18.advantage of this pressure tyres. The soft tyre should be as fast.

:28:19. > :28:23.He lost a bit of time, Rosberg is coming up the straight, who will get

:28:24. > :28:29.it? We have got this little group. Alonso, Raikkonen behind that, let's

:28:30. > :28:32.see where Lewis Hamilton comes out. Relative to his team-mate. He has

:28:33. > :28:37.gone through already. Rosberg is still in front, though one second

:28:38. > :28:41.loss in the pit stop plus being out there on the tyres that went at

:28:42. > :28:45.their best hope to him but he is still only behind Rosberg, no cars

:28:46. > :28:47.between them, an opportunity to close at.

:28:48. > :28:52.Magnussen and McLaren having a great race so far.

:28:53. > :28:55.Box at the end of this lap. Felipe Massa will be coming in from

:28:56. > :28:59.the lead of the Grand Prix. They have managed to go reasonably far

:29:00. > :29:07.into the race. Let's see what happened to Rosberg moments ago. He

:29:08. > :29:12.was behind the McLaren. It was Button not having stopped on the

:29:13. > :29:19.softer tyres. The wheel wasn't attached. Right-hand rear wheel. The

:29:20. > :29:22.green light was on. Somebody has given the driver the message it is

:29:23. > :29:26.fine to go. Felipe Massa in, that was Valtteri

:29:27. > :29:38.Bottas into the lead of the Grand Prix. Williams' stops have been a

:29:39. > :29:42.bit erratic. It seemed to go without H. C Wade comes up relative to the

:29:43. > :29:47.Mercedes, he will be passed by Rosberg, will you be that Hamilton?

:29:48. > :29:53.He comes up between 50 Mercedes will stop me has lost position to

:29:54. > :30:02.Rosberg, Crusoe loss. He is still in front of Lewis Hamilton. Knowing

:30:03. > :30:08.that Felipe Massa is trying to get to grips with the new tyres. Massa

:30:09. > :30:12.sensibly saw the Mercedes coming back at him but Hamilton defence.

:30:13. > :30:16.Rosberg locks up, as he's got the traffic ahead of him. He wants to

:30:17. > :30:20.try to get through that as quickly as possible. These guys have not

:30:21. > :30:25.been in the pits yet. They are raising into position. Gets past

:30:26. > :30:30.Raikkonen. The next one to get past is Perez in the Force India. Errors

:30:31. > :30:35.going deep into this race on the tyres he started on, the soft

:30:36. > :30:38.tyres. Here is Hamilton trying to get past Raikkonen. Hamilton could

:30:39. > :30:43.be heading into the pits, he moves over to the right and is coming into

:30:44. > :30:47.the pit lane. Williams got a bit held up. Massa lost time as the

:30:48. > :30:52.Ferrari had to go slow through the apex to make the pit lane. Where is

:30:53. > :30:57.Bottas coming out? A much quicker stop, a fabulous stop. Where is

:30:58. > :31:02.Bottas going to come out in that little group? With his team-mate. He

:31:03. > :31:08.has come out in front of his team-mate, behind Rosberg. Rosberg

:31:09. > :31:13.is the winner. But Lewis Hamilton, he did it on Massa last time, oh,

:31:14. > :31:18.Bottas has gone too deep and might get him on the exit of the corner.

:31:19. > :31:22.Bottas has probably been told by his engineer watch out for Hamilton on

:31:23. > :31:30.the inside and he braked too late. Hamilton hasn't quite got the run on

:31:31. > :31:34.him here. Great stuff. It is indeed. Meanwhile, Perez, the man that seems

:31:35. > :31:39.to make his rubber go further than anyone else, leading this Grand

:31:40. > :31:43.Prix. That is right, he is in front, Sergio Perez, the man who crashed

:31:44. > :31:48.with Felipe Massa at the last Grand Prix. He has Nico Rosberg behind

:31:49. > :31:53.him, Bottas running in third place, Hamilton in fourth position and the

:31:54. > :31:56.incident involving the Sauber of Gutierrez under investigation for

:31:57. > :32:01.unsafe release. We know the stewards are very tough on that. They do

:32:02. > :32:05.stamp their authority were many mistakes like that, for releasing a

:32:06. > :32:08.car. I am sure there will be penalties applied, not just here

:32:09. > :32:14.this weekend but potentially in the next Grand Prix as well. There is

:32:15. > :32:18.going to be a ten second stop-go penalty for Esteban Gutierrez for

:32:19. > :32:24.this unsafe release. It is a strict penalty when it happens. Especially

:32:25. > :32:28.when it comes to not being attached. I remember Mark Webber hit a

:32:29. > :32:33.cameraman and you can see here, he did react to the light. It looks

:32:34. > :32:36.like the gun got dropped. The wheel was not attached properly. The

:32:37. > :32:42.driver looks, it is green, so whoever controls that little

:32:43. > :32:48.Scalextric type switch got a little bit nervous. So, upfront, Perez

:32:49. > :32:54.holding on but Hamilton getting a little closer to the back of

:32:55. > :32:59.Valtteri Bottas. The Finn is driving the Williams and in his second full

:33:00. > :33:03.year of Formula one, up against the man who was the 2008 world champion.

:33:04. > :33:10.Rosberg is getting a look and Hamilton having a think about it at

:33:11. > :33:13.turn two. That is where he passed Massa when Massa made his pit stop.

:33:14. > :33:17.What is impressive in that Mercedes is what an early apex he is able to

:33:18. > :33:23.use at turn two, which shows the power of the botanical group that

:33:24. > :33:28.Mercedes has that low speeds. Locks up at the circuit drops into turn

:33:29. > :33:34.three. You can see the advantage the Williams has on acceleration. Less

:33:35. > :33:39.drag on that car, so it accelerates backoff -- it accelerates better of

:33:40. > :33:41.the turns. Have a few stabs that overtake but use it wisely, we are

:33:42. > :33:46.not safe. Uses more fuel. overtake but use it wisely, we are

:33:47. > :33:50.right, they have had no overtake but use it wisely, we are

:33:51. > :33:55.behind a safety car to save fuel. Although the research should be

:33:56. > :33:59.manageable, it depends on how much coasting they have to do through the

:34:00. > :34:05.corners. When Formula one was last here in 2003, the cars were running

:34:06. > :34:10.176 kilograms is of fuel for the same race distance. Now, they are

:34:11. > :34:15.using 100, or maybe less. The development is incredible. It stands

:34:16. > :34:21.Formula one apart from the rear of -- other racing series. Sebastian

:34:22. > :34:25.Vettel, the problem he sorted and reset but he is absolutely last in

:34:26. > :34:28.this Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Hulkenberg Intel's place, trying to

:34:29. > :34:36.get Pastor Maldonado in the load tests. -- in 10th place. Pastor

:34:37. > :34:41.Maldonado in the Lotus. Alonso put in a quick final sector on that

:34:42. > :34:47.lap, still running down in seventh place. Tom, what have you got for

:34:48. > :34:51.us? Sebastian Vettel has 49 laps to do. I think it will be a huge

:34:52. > :34:55.achievement to get to the end of the race with so many laps to go.

:34:56. > :34:58.Hulkenberg in the last race when we had the same tyre compound is

:34:59. > :35:03.managed 41 laps on the soft tyre in Canada and that included a safety

:35:04. > :35:10.car period. It will be a big ask. We have faster corners which works with

:35:11. > :35:16.tyres harder. If you can do it, it will be impressive. Kvyat is off. A

:35:17. > :35:21.puncture, maybe, on the left -- on the left rear. He has shredded right

:35:22. > :35:26.rear. He is trying to limp back. What a shame, he has been driving

:35:27. > :35:30.beautifully this weekend. In both qualifying, and holding his own in

:35:31. > :35:38.the race. That is turn five, I believe. Alonso is quick in the

:35:39. > :35:42.final sector. The whole wheel is coming off, so there may have been

:35:43. > :35:56.contacts. The wheel and suspension is ripped off. Has there been a

:35:57. > :36:02.hit? He over eggs. The right weird -- the right rear disc has imploded.

:36:03. > :36:09.For the Austrian team boss, not a good Austrian Grand Prix. The chief

:36:10. > :36:13.technical man alongside him at Toro Rosso, disappointing. At is the

:36:14. > :36:16.third consecutive race that Daniel Kidd Gatt has not finished. They

:36:17. > :36:24.were feeling encouraged this weekend -- that Daniil Kvyat has not

:36:25. > :36:29.finished. He is really beginning to put Sergio Perez under some

:36:30. > :36:34.pressure. In the background, Bottas and Hamilton. The tyres must be

:36:35. > :36:38.really struggling. This is an opportunity for Rosberg. Rosberg has

:36:39. > :36:42.a look at the inside, straightforward, yes, Perez gives

:36:43. > :36:45.them space but he loses Mantom. That gives the opportunity for Valtteri

:36:46. > :36:50.Bottas to sweep past in the Williams. Perez loses two places in

:36:51. > :36:56.one. The team are encouraging Perez not to lose time in fighting with

:36:57. > :36:57.his opposition. Drive his own race. They want a decent

:36:58. > :37:02.his opposition. Drive his own race. here. Hamilton trying to squeeze

:37:03. > :37:07.past in an area which is more difficult. It is. It was almost like

:37:08. > :37:10.Rosberg was having a look and decided, maybe not, I'll try down

:37:11. > :37:15.the next straight and then Perez left so much space. Rosberg would

:37:16. > :37:20.release the brake and allow the Carter role in there. He has made

:37:21. > :37:27.the move stick. Here comes Hamilton. He waits, he is not in that much of

:37:28. > :37:31.a hurry. He knows Rosberg is only a couple of places further up the

:37:32. > :37:35.road. He is very much in touch with Nico Rosberg, who is the race

:37:36. > :37:39.leader. He has set a new fastest lap, despite the overtaking

:37:40. > :37:43.manoeuvre he had to put off. He has suddenly gone quicker, Rosberg. We

:37:44. > :37:49.are beginning to see the real, raw pace that Mercedes have here. Jenson

:37:50. > :37:53.Button is in the pit. Here comes Lewis Hamilton on Sergio Perez,

:37:54. > :37:57.surely he will out-brake him in to turn two. Perez gives him plenty of

:37:58. > :38:02.space, no moving on the line. The next car coming up behind Sergio

:38:03. > :38:06.Perez is Felipe Massa and last time they got this close on track it all

:38:07. > :38:11.went horribly wrong, in Canada. It did. They agreed to disagree on

:38:12. > :38:16.that. Force India were still arguing the point when they came to this

:38:17. > :38:18.Grand Prix but FIA decided to uphold the decision of Canada.

:38:19. > :38:22.Interestingly, the stewards will take a more lenient view on any

:38:23. > :38:28.incident from now on. They have decided that unless it is at least

:38:29. > :38:30.75% clear in their minds that one driver has caused the collision, and

:38:31. > :38:38.avoidable collision, they will put it down as a racing incident. Also

:38:39. > :38:42.just under turn eight, Grosjean has been off five or six times and

:38:43. > :38:46.because they don't appear to see he has gained any sort of lap time

:38:47. > :38:49.advantage they are letting it go. A slightly more relaxed approach.

:38:50. > :38:54.Felipe Massa was saying earlier this week, he was asked what he would do

:38:55. > :38:57.when he came up behind Perez, will you think twice? You said, I won't

:38:58. > :39:02.think twice about overtaking, I'll think three times before making a

:39:03. > :39:08.move. Hamilton has set a new fastest lap. We take a look at how the move

:39:09. > :39:09.was made by Nico Rosberg, initially. It was very hesitant.

:39:10. > :39:14.was made by Nico Rosberg, initially. on board what his engineers had told

:39:15. > :39:21.him and in doing so that cost him time. This is Kvyat coming out of

:39:22. > :39:25.turn two. I believe that he went off the circuit, into the gravel at turn

:39:26. > :39:28.five. He does not successfully get through three without issue. He has

:39:29. > :39:32.already had the issue before breaking into turn three. So

:39:33. > :39:38.whatever that failure was on the straight, he was not on the brake at

:39:39. > :39:43.that point macro, so he is complaining of no brakes, the main

:39:44. > :39:47.reason is he has got no right rear corner so you lose a braking system

:39:48. > :39:55.across the rear axle. Lets see how Lewis Hamilton executed the path up

:39:56. > :40:02.at turn two. -- executed the path. He waited for Perez to hit the

:40:03. > :40:09.brakes. Very soon thereafter he hits the brakes as Perez has come in.

:40:10. > :40:14.Sergio Perez has managed 13 laps on the harder tyre, the soft tyres, I

:40:15. > :40:18.wonder if he will have another set of those all the super soft, no, he

:40:19. > :40:22.has gone for another set of a harder tyres. He will have

:40:23. > :40:27.has gone for another set of a harder make. That is his first stop. Red

:40:28. > :40:31.Bull are getting ready. See what happens here. Has there been a

:40:32. > :40:36.problem for Vettel? Trying to come up through the field, of course.

:40:37. > :40:40.This is upfront, the battle going on. Rosberg being hounded by

:40:41. > :40:45.Bottas, with Hamilton not far behind. Bottas really attacking for

:40:46. > :40:49.the race lead here. And Williams are not giving up and just handing it

:40:50. > :40:54.all over to Mercedes at all, are they? This is racy stuff from

:40:55. > :40:59.Bottas. Indeed, we have heard Hamilton saying, I need some help to

:41:00. > :41:03.get past the car in front and his engineers saying, we're looking at

:41:04. > :41:07.it. I can only imagine he is looking for feedback on the balance of the

:41:08. > :41:12.car, or pushing them to allow more push to pass. Rosberg seems to have

:41:13. > :41:15.fended off. I wonder if there was a mistake from Rosberg that we did not

:41:16. > :41:20.see on that lap, because certainly Bottas, the first sector was slow

:41:21. > :41:23.from Rosberg. I think you might have made a mistake on the last lap

:41:24. > :41:27.somewhere. It allowed Bottas to close upon him and he has now

:41:28. > :41:32.survived that. It is Hamilton's problem to get past Williams. The

:41:33. > :41:37.Williams is a fast car in a straight line. Massa has dropped back a bit

:41:38. > :41:42.from this battle, 2.7 seconds behind Hamilton. His last lap, around 13.9.

:41:43. > :41:46.That is quicker than the three cars in front. Rosberg is giving away

:41:47. > :41:52.three tends to the guys behind him. I wonder if he has some sort of

:41:53. > :41:56.problem here. It is not running as we would expect. A little bit is DRS

:41:57. > :42:03.but that does not explain the big offset we are seeing. Rosberg ahead

:42:04. > :42:07.looks slow, Rosberg looks slow. He is definitely in trouble, I think.

:42:08. > :42:12.Rosberg is fighting some sort of problem with that car. Look how fast

:42:13. > :42:16.he is in the middle. In that sector you are not using as much of the

:42:17. > :42:22.recoverable energy. In the first sector, which includes up to two and

:42:23. > :42:27.three, that is way to make full use of the recharged energy. Is he

:42:28. > :42:33.having difficulty getting the full recharge on the lap? Look how he is

:42:34. > :42:39.being caught here. The next straight, we really saw it last lap

:42:40. > :42:43.around. 1.14.3, not as quick as he was going a few moments ago. Alonso

:42:44. > :42:50.is the fastest car on track, strangely, in fifth place. Rosberg

:42:51. > :42:55.is snaking a bit there. You see Hamilton cuts over the kerb. Rosberg

:42:56. > :42:58.was missing it. Whether you are right, he is conscious he has an

:42:59. > :43:04.issue in this sector and he is trying to push it on the brakes.

:43:05. > :43:10.Perez has rejoined on his new tyres. In eighth place now. Going quickly,

:43:11. > :43:13.he has set a new fastest lap on the new tyres. He has less weight in the

:43:14. > :43:19.car now than the others when they had new tyres on. Perez is a couple

:43:20. > :43:23.of seconds behind his team-mate. That was the previous lap that we

:43:24. > :43:27.haven't seen. At turn one. He has gone beyond the yellow curb. This is

:43:28. > :43:33.what we saw with Vettel, gone outside turn three, did he get

:43:34. > :43:37.pushed off the circuit? No, there is an issue. You can see the contacts

:43:38. > :43:40.with the win, the Red Line flashing on -- you can see the red light

:43:41. > :43:45.flashing on the back of the Sauber, they are not in a period of

:43:46. > :43:49.releasing of the recoverable energy and that has caught out Sebastian

:43:50. > :43:53.Vettel. He hasn't realised the car will slow when his acceleration

:43:54. > :43:57.between turn three and four. It is not an obligation to run the

:43:58. > :44:04.flashing light. Most teams do do so to give the drivers warning.

:44:05. > :44:12.Sebastian, we're going to return the car. -- retire the car. Vettel is

:44:13. > :44:17.heading into the pits now and it has been a miserable weekend for the bus

:44:18. > :44:20.to that. It is not going that much better for Daniel Ricciardo, in

:44:21. > :44:24.ninth place, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. And for the team whose

:44:25. > :44:31.owner owns both the team and the track, well, the combination has not

:44:32. > :44:34.gone well here. It is sods law, I suppose, but it has not been a

:44:35. > :44:39.particularly enjoyable season for Sebastian Vettel. The last four

:44:40. > :44:44.years have been a blur of winning and Championships. He has been

:44:45. > :44:47.frustrated with his new formula. He has been very unlucky with the

:44:48. > :44:52.reliability on his side of the car. On his side of the garage, excuse

:44:53. > :44:57.me. It is better to have the bad luck now. Hulkenberg has been told

:44:58. > :45:01.to let Perez go. Let's see if we did. We are looking at the replay,

:45:02. > :45:04.he did indeed get out of the way of Sergio Perez because Perez is on a

:45:05. > :45:08.different strategy. They both will be raising at the end of the Grand

:45:09. > :45:15.Prix but it is not the time to start fighting each other, too early in

:45:16. > :45:20.the race. Start to close the gap down.

:45:21. > :45:23.How much have they all been biding their time, looking after breaks and

:45:24. > :45:27.tyres? That is reassuring. I was getting a

:45:28. > :45:32.bit worried. He is three seconds behind Hamilton. It looked like he

:45:33. > :45:37.was getting into difficulty. Clearly they are managing the, giving him

:45:38. > :45:46.the opportunity to go of it further that might go a bit further.

:45:47. > :45:50.MIB Helton coming in. Lewis Hamilton gets the first stop. They are trying

:45:51. > :45:55.to jump the Williams, of course. They have brought Hamilton in first.

:45:56. > :45:59.They want to get him in front of Valtteri Bottas. He was getting

:46:00. > :46:02.stuck, held up behind the Williams. Away goes Lewis Hamilton, a four

:46:03. > :46:09.second was a bit slow. The reason why Buddhism but Rosberg

:46:10. > :46:15.and any pressure was because it was about second seconds last lap

:46:16. > :46:20.around. He gets out in front of the McLaren.

:46:21. > :46:29.He wouldn't have wanted to get stuck the ad Magnussen and errors.

:46:30. > :46:32.Perez right on the gearbox. Magnussen will be heading for a pit

:46:33. > :46:42.stop relatively soon. Perez has to make the most of this section of the

:46:43. > :46:47.race. Box, box, box. Rosberg now will be coming into the pits. A bit

:46:48. > :46:51.of lock up there from Kevin Magnussen. Definitely one of the

:46:52. > :46:55.best races of the season we have seen, their brilliant podium finish

:46:56. > :47:03.to start the year. A couple of nice place finishes. Income is Nico

:47:04. > :47:13.Rosberg to the pits, will he get back out in front of his team-mate?

:47:14. > :47:17.We are waiting to see what Bottas does. Not a great stop from CDs.

:47:18. > :47:25.They are usually up there with the very fastest. Ericsson in front of

:47:26. > :47:29.Hamilton. He has maintained that gap to his team-mate. It has slightly"

:47:30. > :47:34.that has worked well for Nico Rosberg.

:47:35. > :47:38.Lewis Hamilton has had great pace all we can. They are on the same

:47:39. > :47:41.strategy, the same tyres, it will be erased to the finish. Plenty of time

:47:42. > :47:47.therefore Hamilton. 30 laps to go. The two cars will presumably be

:47:48. > :47:50.racing for victory to the end, unless Mercedes are still nervous

:47:51. > :48:02.about some of the reliability issues they had in Canada. Heat coming at

:48:03. > :48:09.the break ducks. -- ducts. Perez has to go wide, the car was heading to

:48:10. > :48:16.the pits. They have to come inside the white line before they can go

:48:17. > :48:19.through the turn eight corner. Valtteri Bottas, the Williams has

:48:20. > :48:23.been in front of Hamilton, but Hamilton is flying at the moment.

:48:24. > :48:27.Hamilton is lighting up the timing screens, fastest in the first and

:48:28. > :48:30.second sectors. I do think there will be much chance for Bottas to

:48:31. > :48:37.come out in front of Hamilton. You can see from the graphic in the

:48:38. > :48:42.bottom right of the screen. So quick, Lewis Hamilton on the last

:48:43. > :48:50.lap. Hamilton is way in front of Valtteri Bottas as he rejoined. A

:48:51. > :48:53.mega lap from Lewis Hamilton, that has put comfortably ahead of the

:48:54. > :48:58.Williams he been chasing for many laps. Looks as though Felipe Massa

:48:59. > :49:05.will be coming into the pits on this lap for Williams. Alonso has just

:49:06. > :49:12.done 1:13 .4. Encouraging signs for Ferrari. Let's hope this is a nice,

:49:13. > :49:16.tidy start. He does look as though Bottas has

:49:17. > :49:22.ended up with the advantage in the race over his team-mate. Williams

:49:23. > :49:28.for a good haul points. Look out for Perez. He has gone through.

:49:29. > :49:35.Perez on this different strategy, he will have two stop again. A real

:49:36. > :49:40.opportunity for Williams to close and perhaps ask Force India in the

:49:41. > :49:46.Constructors' Championship here today, if they can hold onto a third

:49:47. > :49:51.fourth place finish for Bottas and Massa, still a vital race, even if

:49:52. > :49:56.they cannot match the two Mercedes upfront. Alonso is the race leader.

:49:57. > :50:00.We haven't seen him lead a race for a long time. Mercedes led all the

:50:01. > :50:05.races are to Canada, then we thought Felipe Massa and Daniel Riccardo

:50:06. > :50:09.become new lap leaders. And Fernando Alonso leads a Grand Prix in 2014

:50:10. > :50:16.for top bricks are OK, yes? Breaks are under control. Safe at

:50:17. > :50:18.the moment, keep managing them. Hamilton is 1.6 seconds behind his

:50:19. > :50:23.team-mate. He will be just thinking Hamilton is 1.6 seconds behind his

:50:24. > :50:29.about how he will go on the attack. We could be in for a real humdinger

:50:30. > :50:32.of a race in the closing stages. A couple of seconds quicker than his

:50:33. > :50:36.team-mate last time around will stop at the gap down to 1.5 seconds. Keep

:50:37. > :50:42.chipping away at it as Raikkonen heads to the pits. Ericsson ahead of

:50:43. > :50:49.him indicator. Raikkonen on for some points, but his best result has been

:50:50. > :50:56.a seventh place finish. Disappointing year for the world

:50:57. > :50:59.champion of 2007. Felipe Massa has just gone very quickly in the first

:51:00. > :51:05.sector, those news tyres are working on the Williams. They are

:51:06. > :51:11.consistently the best in the pits, not in terms of always having the

:51:12. > :51:13.fastest but across the season they deliver the best pit stops. Another

:51:14. > :51:21.very efficient stop by the Italian team.

:51:22. > :51:30.Alonso into the pits as the boss watches from the pit wall. Let's see

:51:31. > :51:39.where this brings him out. It will bring him out behind Massa. He will

:51:40. > :51:44.be three the first time. Let's see how close, verities, on the

:51:45. > :51:49.right-hand side you just him. It is quite an appreciable gap between

:51:50. > :51:54.Williams and Ferrari. Alonso rejoins, that brings him out in

:51:55. > :52:00.sixth position, and Perez is the one out there who is slightly out of

:52:01. > :52:04.order, if you like. Effectively Alonso is in fifth place. It is hard

:52:05. > :52:09.to see him going any further than that, further up the order. Unless

:52:10. > :52:15.there are in liability factors will stop out of this race to have

:52:16. > :52:22.retired so far. Daniil Kvyat out, and after a very difficult day

:52:23. > :52:27.Sebastian Vettel. There was a problem at the front

:52:28. > :52:34.wing, you lost drug, what did you retire for?

:52:35. > :52:40.-- lost a drag. Exhausted. We stopped because we wanted to sister

:52:41. > :52:45.mileage. We were hoping for the safety car but it wasn't coming.

:52:46. > :52:50.Pretty pointless to go around a lap down.

:52:51. > :52:53.You might not have expected to win every race but usually expected to

:52:54. > :53:02.seek chequered flags, how difficult is that to deal with?

:53:03. > :53:05.It is part of the game, I guess. It has been a bad first half of the

:53:06. > :53:12.season with lots of retirements. Many more problems. But I guess it

:53:13. > :53:22.is part of the game. Equally able to learn a lot. For the rest of the

:53:23. > :53:30.race, I have my team me gets to move up a little bit more.

:53:31. > :53:34.Upfront Rosberg leads, they pick their way through the battle.

:53:35. > :53:37.Hamilton was asking on the radio whether Nico Rosberg had problems

:53:38. > :53:41.with his brakes. I think they have been told they are both in the same

:53:42. > :53:45.situation. He has indeed. Further rate

:53:46. > :53:52.problems, that is what put him out in Canada. Some little burning

:53:53. > :53:57.flames, Robert in the front brake disc. He has

:53:58. > :54:02.flames, Robert in the front brake slightly. Last time around he was

:54:03. > :54:07.three tenths slower than Rosberg. Trying to manage the gap, keep

:54:08. > :54:08.everything cool. He will want to try and challenge to win this Grand

:54:09. > :54:13.Prix. and challenge

:54:14. > :54:17.We are on board with Felipe Massa. He has been told to look after the

:54:18. > :54:20.rear tyres. We need them at the end to protect from Alonso. They are

:54:21. > :54:23.worried about Fernando Alonso who has been going quite quickly on a

:54:24. > :54:30.new set of tyres. Much pressure tyres for him. They will be in

:54:31. > :54:33.really good show. Massa locked up like that on his qualifying

:54:34. > :54:44.yesterday. Alonso's tyres five laps younger. We

:54:45. > :54:53.have got 20 lap is still to go. A lot of thinking going on. They are

:54:54. > :54:59.trying to look after the equipment, the tyres, the brakes, and we have

:55:00. > :55:03.had no safety car, that means that fuel consumption has been at its

:55:04. > :55:08.maximum and some of them will be having to try and save fuel. Rosberg

:55:09. > :55:13.continues to lead, the 1.5 seconds. A bit of cloud overhead. Still good

:55:14. > :55:19.conditions for this return to Austria on a truck that was last

:55:20. > :55:26.used in 2003, but a venue that has a great history of Formula One going

:55:27. > :55:29.back to 1970 where the original circuit was one of the most testing

:55:30. > :55:39.tracks in Formula One and a real favourite. We are racing, but,

:55:40. > :55:46.winning two tenths Palau. -- Pella.

:55:47. > :55:55.Give me more power. Don't expect me to drive quicker. Kimi Raikonnen is

:55:56. > :56:02.in 11th place. That was David Lloyd on the radio who has just joined as

:56:03. > :56:04.an engineer for Kimi Raikonnen, returning

:56:05. > :56:13.an engineer for Kimi Raikonnen, for Ferrari for many years. Fairly

:56:14. > :56:17.straightforward answer. Felipe Massa is still responding to that request

:56:18. > :56:20.from the team to watch out for Alonso because he has done a good

:56:21. > :56:25.first sector. The gap between Massa and Alonso, now he has made his pit

:56:26. > :56:32.stop is 3.7 seconds. Alonso taking a bit of time. He is going quicker

:56:33. > :56:35.than matter. The Ferrari is definitely catching up to the

:56:36. > :56:46.Williams slightly. We know how relentless Fernando Alonso is. It is

:56:47. > :56:54.what he is famous for, really. Matter is they held up by Perez. --

:56:55. > :56:57.Masur is being held up. I don't think Alonso is going to have enough

:56:58. > :57:04.straight-line speed to get past that Williams. It is never nice to see

:57:05. > :57:08.your mirrors filled with any car catching you.

:57:09. > :57:12.Perez has been told after the pit stop if all goes to plan and that

:57:13. > :57:15.this top is clean you will come out in front of his team-mate, Nico

:57:16. > :57:19.Hulkenberg. That will be fun to watch, the two team-mates. Perez

:57:20. > :57:25.will have a better diet for a few laps, and then it will gradually

:57:26. > :57:29.deteriorate. Is he coming in? They have managed to go deep into the

:57:30. > :57:32.race before putting the super-soft tyres on. He could be able to make

:57:33. > :57:36.them last quite a percentage to the end of the race. That will have cost

:57:37. > :57:43.Massa sometime. Look at his lap time.

:57:44. > :57:48.They are aiming to bring about a flood of Hulkenberg and Ricciardo

:57:49. > :57:53.who are on the penultimate corner. It should be relatively

:57:54. > :57:59.straightforward. Three seconds top is enough for Perez. He will emerge

:58:00. > :58:03.in front of Hulkenberg and Ricciardo. He comes out in a place

:58:04. > :58:05.will stop Hulkenberg still in ninth, Ricciardo in the final points

:58:06. > :58:12.position. It was close. There could have been

:58:13. > :58:14.a bit of It was close. There could have been

:58:15. > :58:18.a pressure for Perez. He has had the edge over Hulkenberg

:58:19. > :58:22.in the last two races but Perez ended up crashing out with Massa.

:58:23. > :58:25.They have had different strategies was that maybe the strategy for

:58:26. > :58:30.Perez has been the better one, because they have decided to go. It

:58:31. > :58:34.almost seems to be a disadvantage to go into the top ten because you're

:58:35. > :58:38.forced to start on the super-soft tyres if that is what you used in

:58:39. > :58:44.Q2. Those outside the Doctor have the option to go for the other

:58:45. > :58:51.tyres. The only one stop in the top ten is

:58:52. > :58:54.Jenson Button. Good lap times. That was a big moment, let's have

:58:55. > :58:57.another look. If you're not up with the

:58:58. > :58:59.frontrunners they say do something spectacular to get yourself some TV

:59:00. > :59:05.time. A lot of brake dust coming from

:59:06. > :59:10.Jean-Eric Vergne's car. It seems blown on the left-hand side.

:59:11. > :59:19.Hamilton has been told the brakes: The limit. -- the brakes are on the

:59:20. > :59:23.That is a little worrying for That is a little worrying for

:59:24. > :59:26.Hamilton to be told that. I have just heard a very rough

:59:27. > :59:32.engine going down the pit straight, had a look at the GPS, it was that

:59:33. > :59:37.Massa, Gutierrez, Alonso gaggle. I think it is Gutierrez.

:59:38. > :59:40.We will keep a man that. But here is running fast at the moment. The

:59:41. > :59:48.other Sauber of Sutil running in 14th position. Another team boss

:59:49. > :59:56.with Austrian citizenship, born in India but grew up in Vienna and took

:59:57. > :00:00.Austrian so ship. -- citizenship. Jenson Button is in the pits at the

:00:01. > :00:05.moment. The final pit stop for the British driver in the McLaren. His

:00:06. > :00:17.team-mate running in a pretty solid sixth place. A good stop. We go on

:00:18. > :00:21.board with Felipe Massa and Massa is free of Sergio Perez now. But his

:00:22. > :00:26.gap over Alonso is only two microseconds. Here's three seconds

:00:27. > :00:31.behind his team-mate, Bottas. A tensor two on the last lap. But

:00:32. > :00:36.crucially, Alonso, half a second quicker. Listen to where he is

:00:37. > :00:39.changing gear. He is changing up early on the previous corner.

:00:40. > :00:43.Doesn't sound particularly impressive. Almost sounds like he's

:00:44. > :00:50.having to do some fuel saving. Sounds like a diesel generator! He

:00:51. > :00:54.is using very low revs. It must be a fuel saving thing, but he's changing

:00:55. > :00:58.up really early. They are normally changing around the 11,000 revs mark

:00:59. > :01:03.but it sounded as though he was changing up earlier than that on

:01:04. > :01:08.this occasion. Alonso quicker than him, gained three tenths of a

:01:09. > :01:14.second. Alonso, as ever, is just amazing, watching him when he has

:01:15. > :01:19.any kind of opportunity. It doesn't matter what position he is running

:01:20. > :01:23.in, Alonso is always giving ten out of ten. He is relentless, like a

:01:24. > :01:30.character where everything is hacked off and he says, Vermont on -- it is

:01:31. > :01:33.only a flesh wound! Massa locking up into turn three. You can see

:01:34. > :01:39.only a flesh wound! Massa locking up hard Felipe Massa is pushing. Up

:01:40. > :01:43.front, Bottas still in third in the other Williams. But he has an

:01:44. > :01:48.advantage over these guys of about 3.5 seconds. Bottas just staying out

:01:49. > :01:52.of trouble, not close enough to challenge the Mercedes but a little

:01:53. > :01:56.ahead of these. That is Vergne with the brake dust. I think he is in

:01:57. > :02:02.trouble. Yes, you would not be breaking running along into turn

:02:03. > :02:08.eight. So retiring the car. May have had a poor run of reliability, Toro

:02:09. > :02:17.Rosso. Vergne himself has had a string of non-finishes this season.

:02:18. > :02:20.The brakes are gone. Four non-finishes and now the brakes are

:02:21. > :02:23.gone on the car. I doubt there is anything they can do about that.

:02:24. > :02:28.They are waving him into the pit garage. It is all over for Jean-Eric

:02:29. > :02:37.Vergne and both of the Toro Rossos sadly are out of the Grand Prix. On

:02:38. > :02:41.board with Perez. How hard is it for Kevin Magnussen to hold it on the

:02:42. > :02:48.road at the moment? You can see how the engine is blind. They power down

:02:49. > :02:52.the hill, drop into the short apex at turn nine. Somebody has dipped a

:02:53. > :02:59.wheel on the dust. You can see the dust getting thrown out, in the back

:03:00. > :03:03.of Hulkenberg. This will be his opportunity, Magnussen has made a

:03:04. > :03:09.mistake. An opportunity for Perez, who moves to the outside. Magnussen

:03:10. > :03:14.goes defensive on the inside but a greater speed advantage for Perez.

:03:15. > :03:18.He is on the super soft tyre, giving him excellent grip, and Perez takes

:03:19. > :03:23.full advantage of that. One tiny error from Kevin Magnussen in a car

:03:24. > :03:29.with the tyres now reaching the end of their life, if you like, and

:03:30. > :03:34.Perez is upon it and moves into sixth position. A good drive from

:03:35. > :03:38.Sergio Perez. Let's take another look at that. It locked up, it

:03:39. > :03:43.comprises his ability to get the throttle open, that is why the pass

:03:44. > :03:48.was made so early. Magnussen, very fair, made it clear he was going to

:03:49. > :03:56.defend the inside. Interesting that Perez' line seems to be wide through

:03:57. > :04:03.two. It is out. Pull clear with the DRS and we will bring this home.

:04:04. > :04:06.Points for Force India on a day where Williams is looking to score,

:04:07. > :04:11.it is crucial that Perez is up there in sixth place as they try to defend

:04:12. > :04:14.fourth-place in the Constructors' Championship. The constructors

:04:15. > :04:19.leaders by a huge margin Mercedes. What will happen in this

:04:20. > :04:22.confrontation between Rosberg on Hamilton? Is Hamilton really going

:04:23. > :04:27.to throw everything at it in these last few laps? He has been

:04:28. > :04:31.consistently quicker. They are both managing the brakes. He has got to

:04:32. > :04:35.take a big risk if he wants to make this work. They are matching the lap

:04:36. > :04:38.time of each other in the middle sector. It is one thing getting up

:04:39. > :04:44.on the gearbox of Rosberg, but the heat that will put into the brakes

:04:45. > :04:49.as he loses cooling, he risks a situation like Canada. Is it a case

:04:50. > :04:52.of you lose further ground to Rosberg finishing second? Is it a

:04:53. > :04:58.case of cutting your losses? You started imposition nine. The target

:04:59. > :05:02.would of been to try to win the race, but second is not a bad result

:05:03. > :05:05.considering what about qualifying he had. That is right but the

:05:06. > :05:10.championship lead will be extended by Nico Rosberg if the positions

:05:11. > :05:17.finish as they are now. Rosberg will be on 165 points, Hamilton on 136

:05:18. > :05:21.points. 29 points the advantage. It could change of Hamilton could get

:05:22. > :05:25.into front, then he would start to close the gap again. A lot going

:05:26. > :05:29.through Lewis Hamilton's mind as he runs flat out to chase his

:05:30. > :05:33.team-mate. Bottas, who would also score very well. Fernando Alonso

:05:34. > :05:38.would also having opportunity to close up to Daniel Ricciardo in what

:05:39. > :05:41.is third in the championship. Remember the message of earlier to

:05:42. > :05:46.Lewis Hamilton from his race engineer telling him your tyres were

:05:47. > :05:53.better at the start of Rosberg, so it may be an advantage at the end of

:05:54. > :05:58.the race. Four laps remaining, strap six to the end. Meanwhile Rosberg

:05:59. > :06:04.has been told, remember, slower in for faster exits generally. The old

:06:05. > :06:09.racing driver mantra of slow in, fast out, and it seems to be working

:06:10. > :06:13.with these hybrid cars because just getting the cars into the corner and

:06:14. > :06:16.getting on the power as early as possible as delivering the lap

:06:17. > :06:22.time. Very similar lap times again, that time around. Just less than one

:06:23. > :06:26.tenth between them. So 1.3 seconds the gap, less than three laps to go

:06:27. > :06:33.in the Austrian Grand Prix. Nico Rosberg started third, managed to

:06:34. > :06:38.work his way to the front. Nico, stay in strap six, both cars will

:06:39. > :06:42.stay in strap six to the end. Whether that is a function or

:06:43. > :06:47.whether that means hold station, who knows. But it is what it is.

:06:48. > :06:51.Hamilton has recovered from a poor qualifying. He was ninth on the

:06:52. > :06:55.grid. A great first lap, good strategy in the race. He has driven

:06:56. > :07:00.cleverly sensibly, making moves when it counted. Maybe he is going to

:07:01. > :07:06.happen to a second -- to settle for second place. The British Grand Prix

:07:07. > :07:11.in a couple of weeks' time, a track he adores. He should have won last

:07:12. > :07:15.year but had a tyre failure. How much he would like to take revenge

:07:16. > :07:19.on a couple of weeks and be able to come out on top of his team-mate.

:07:20. > :07:24.Two laps to go and it does not look as though we will see a Bahrain type

:07:25. > :07:28.climax, going wheel-to-wheel. Hamilton doesn't have enough. A very

:07:29. > :07:35.clever message that has been overlaid on the picture. Somebody

:07:36. > :07:45.didn't paint it between laps then? Clever technology! Smart stuff, a

:07:46. > :07:52.bit of a moment for Lewis Hamilton. Can I use overtake? Nico, you can

:07:53. > :07:56.use overtake. They are being very careful as to what they can and

:07:57. > :08:00.can't use. There has been some discussion about that in previous

:08:01. > :08:04.Grand Prix is, one driver using a certain mode and another doesn't

:08:05. > :08:08.know about it, or has been told not to use. But on this occasion it

:08:09. > :08:12.looks as though it has been run very straight. It has been a race between

:08:13. > :08:16.them. But they have both been trying to look after the cars. Hamilton, on

:08:17. > :08:20.the back of the Canadian sorrow, if you like, the fact he wasn't able to

:08:21. > :08:24.finish the race, whereas Rosberg was, very aware of that. You can use

:08:25. > :08:31.overtake to the end was, very aware of that. You can use

:08:32. > :08:35.1.1, with the DRS. 1.2 seconds, we are on the last lap. Nico Rosberg

:08:36. > :08:40.does seem to be in control. Unless Lewis Hamilton can find something

:08:41. > :08:46.truly exceptional on this last lap, it seems to be heading the way of

:08:47. > :08:49.Nico Rosberg. But let's not count anything until we get to the

:08:50. > :08:56.chequered flag just yet. Hamilton closes up as we get to turn two. He

:08:57. > :09:07.will be in DRS, a bad drive off turn two. In 1982, KK Rosberg came within

:09:08. > :09:13..05 within winning this race, an estate from Rosberg, Hamilton tried

:09:14. > :09:16.to take advantage. He gave himself oversteer. It shows how hard they

:09:17. > :09:23.are both trying on this final lap. Rosberg still in front. Three

:09:24. > :09:29.corners to go. The left hand, kink right, then the final section around

:09:30. > :09:31.on to the start finish straight. It is looking good for

:09:32. > :09:35.on to the start finish straight. It These two have driven their hearts

:09:36. > :09:39.out. They haven't gone wheel-to-wheel as they did in

:09:40. > :09:42.Bahrain but it is going to big victory for Nico Rosberg here in

:09:43. > :09:48.Austria! Rosberg wins the Austrian Grand Prix by 1.9 seconds in the end

:09:49. > :09:52.that from Lewis Hamilton, who backs off across the line. Third place

:09:53. > :09:58.goes to Valtteri Bottas, his first-ever podium in Formula One and

:09:59. > :10:02.the battle between Hulkenberg and Ricciardo going on. Ricciardo has

:10:03. > :10:05.got it, managed to go round the outside of the Force India,

:10:06. > :10:08.following him for lap after lap after lap and just as we saw in

:10:09. > :10:13.Canada when he made that amazing move down at turn one, Ricciardo

:10:14. > :10:17.finds an opportunity that no one else has seen and Ricciardo might

:10:18. > :10:22.not be for the victory but it just shows you how hungry he is. He's

:10:23. > :10:28.going to finish this race in eight. Massa has finished in fourth. Alonso

:10:29. > :10:30.fifth, Perez six, Magnussen seventh, Raikkonen who takes the final points

:10:31. > :10:41.10th position. Great job, Nico, great job, strap

:10:42. > :10:53.one, a pick-up rubber, good job, good job, Nico. Yeah, come on! Great

:10:54. > :11:01.stuff, Lewis, an excellent recovery, really well driven, well-managed. It

:11:02. > :11:06.was a tough one. Nico did exactly what he had to do, had the patience

:11:07. > :11:11.at the beginning. The gap in the championship opens up a little bit

:11:12. > :11:14.more. 29 points now between Rosberg and Hamilton. Yes, but if you were

:11:15. > :11:20.doing the old primary school, this is a pass from Ricciardo's. This is

:11:21. > :11:24.downhill into three. The battle continues as they come out of three.

:11:25. > :11:29.They almost touch, they do touch ever so slightly and as they go

:11:30. > :11:32.through the kink at four and get on the brakes, Ricciardo very brave

:11:33. > :11:38.round the outside and make the stick. Great, clean racing. Nico

:11:39. > :11:42.Rosberg takes his third victory of 2014, the sixth of his career, and

:11:43. > :11:49.makes up for the disappointment of his father winning out of -- missing

:11:50. > :11:53.out on a win. It is the 20th Mercedes win ever since 1954, when

:11:54. > :11:58.they came into the Formula One World Champion ship. The first win for

:11:59. > :12:04.Mercedes as a constructor in Austria. The full rundown, Rosberg

:12:05. > :12:09.ahead of Hamilton, Bottas and Massa, Alonso fifth, Perez six, Magnussen

:12:10. > :12:14.seventh, a good run from him. Ricciardo AIDS, snatching the place

:12:15. > :12:16.from Hulkenberg on the last lap and Raikkonen taking a final point

:12:17. > :12:24.intense. Jenson Button outside the points, Maldonado 12, Sutil 13th and

:12:25. > :12:31.Bianchi did get past Kobayashi soap won the tussle. The three

:12:32. > :12:42.non-finishers, Vergne, Vettel and Kvyat. Look at the trophy. Created

:12:43. > :12:45.by local craftsmen in this region. A very different trophy to many of the

:12:46. > :12:53.others that will be handed out over the course of the year. Picking up

:12:54. > :12:59.the constructors trophy, the guy who does the strategy for the team. They

:13:00. > :13:06.have worked pretty well today. Lewis picks up the trophy for second

:13:07. > :13:16.place. And here we are, Valtteri Bottas, joining a great line of

:13:17. > :13:25.Finnish drivers that have graced that podium. Nico Rosberg right now

:13:26. > :13:28.is looking good for the World Championship in 2014. But you can

:13:29. > :13:31.bet, with sawdust and around the corner, Lewis Hamilton will not be

:13:32. > :13:43.giving up. -- with Silverstone around the corner.

:13:44. > :13:50.Congratulations, Nico, what a strong performance today. That was some

:13:51. > :13:54.trophy they gave you, wasn't it? It was very, very heavy actually. I

:13:55. > :13:59.have never had such a heavy trophy in my life. It has been great all

:14:00. > :14:04.weekend. It has been a cool race, so many fans who came, at full house. A

:14:05. > :14:09.great atmosphere. The track is fun to drive. The team gave me the best

:14:10. > :14:13.car. It was a difficult race. A lot going on. But with the best car we

:14:14. > :14:19.can concentrate on strategy and it worked out. Fantastic. My goal

:14:20. > :14:22.coming here, sorry, I am taking all your questions, my goal was to

:14:23. > :14:26.extend the championship lead and I managed to do that so it was a

:14:27. > :14:30.perfect weekend. It started with a good start. Talk us through getting

:14:31. > :14:37.off the line. Initially got a better drive than Bottas. It was a great

:14:38. > :14:43.start. Bottas, they are very quick down the straight, so he got me back

:14:44. > :14:48.down out of turn one. He came flying right by me again in to turn two. No

:14:49. > :14:51.chance against him. It seems like you have an answer for everything

:14:52. > :14:56.that Lewis can bring towards you and he is making more mistakes than you.

:14:57. > :15:05.If this part of what you are working on behind the as on track? I am not

:15:06. > :15:09.looking too much at what he is doing and trying to do the best for

:15:10. > :15:14.myself. Trying to make the most of it and it is working out at the

:15:15. > :15:15.moment. This pass you did here, it seemed as if you weren't

:15:16. > :15:17.moment. This pass you did here, it seemed as going to go for it, you

:15:18. > :15:22.left the door then you snuck through at the apex. Was that was part of

:15:23. > :15:27.your plan? Yes it was part of the plan. It is a

:15:28. > :15:32.difficult braking area, the most difficult one of the whole track. It

:15:33. > :15:35.is easy to look up. I tried to take it as carefully as possible, and he

:15:36. > :15:36.knew I was there. As long as I roll on in the

:15:37. > :15:38.it as carefully as possible, and he knew I was there. As long as I very

:15:39. > :15:42.end I knew he would leave the gap. We could see you are having to push

:15:43. > :15:45.a lot in the braking zone, there was one issue at turn one, was Atlanta

:15:46. > :15:49.breaking too late? Just breaking too late, once.

:15:50. > :15:57.Decided to go straight on for stop it is fine to do it as long as I

:15:58. > :16:00.don't get an advantage. Brakes was an issue for us the whole day but it

:16:01. > :16:04.wasn't unexpected. I knew it was going to be like that. We chose to

:16:05. > :16:08.take that set up we knew the brakes would be on the edge. We will

:16:09. > :16:14.probably going to do a bit of management.

:16:15. > :16:17.Officer you have extended your championship lead. Going to

:16:18. > :16:25.Silverstone, you went there last year, it is a track to right-macro

:16:26. > :16:26.you enjoy. It is one of the highlights, home race for my team

:16:27. > :16:35.for last year to win that was great. I

:16:36. > :16:39.hope we can do want to this year, that would be spectacular. The same

:16:40. > :16:45.way round again, sorry to the British fans. Good job today,

:16:46. > :16:52.congratulations, well done. There's here from Lewis.

:16:53. > :16:56.A really strong race other, an incredible start. Had a good start.

:16:57. > :17:04.Worked well with the team to make sure we got the best start possible.

:17:05. > :17:08.And today was damage limitation. This weekend was a bad weekend for

:17:09. > :17:12.me and I got second, I will take it.

:17:13. > :17:13.After 71 laps out there, 1.9 seconds between eco-and yourself, to lose a

:17:14. > :17:19.second in that first pit stop, does between eco-and yourself, to lose a

:17:20. > :17:25.that smart little bit, it was so close towards the end?

:17:26. > :17:29.I didn't know too much about the pit stops, they didn't feel the fastest

:17:30. > :17:34.but the fact is there was no mistakes, and we still got one, too.

:17:35. > :17:38.Tell us about your emotions heading into Silverstone, you are overdue

:17:39. > :17:41.victory and you have got so many fans.

:17:42. > :17:46.We have the best car, we should be making improvements for the next

:17:47. > :17:50.race. I need to make sure I have got my head in the game to bring it home

:17:51. > :17:54.for the fans at home. Smiling when he talked about the

:17:55. > :17:58.start of the race. It was absolutely blistering for him to get so many

:17:59. > :18:03.places in the first lap. Tricky start. Turn one. An amazing

:18:04. > :18:07.launch of the line. Slots in there between the Toro Rosso and the

:18:08. > :18:10.Ferrari for stop then just watching the gaggle of front, slides down the

:18:11. > :18:14.inside, Donal Ricciardo running out wide of the curve. He is perfectly

:18:15. > :18:19.positioned in the slipstream, exploiting the power, no GRS, using

:18:20. > :18:24.that power up the hill, takes that this place as he reaches the

:18:25. > :18:29.breaking into turn to. Overall fantastic way to start the race.

:18:30. > :18:34.Encouraging to hear he is fairly philosophical about the fact he has

:18:35. > :18:39.taken second place completing a pass on Alonso is turn eight. He said

:18:40. > :18:45.there was no mistakes he made on track. What of anything at team

:18:46. > :18:47.could have done to change position? The breaking management was clearly

:18:48. > :18:53.an issue for both drivers. Arguably that could have affected Nico little

:18:54. > :19:00.bit less than most because Lewis is running in the dirty air. Beyond

:19:01. > :19:03.that strategy the conductor more. -- strategy wise they couldn't have

:19:04. > :19:07.done more. Valtteri Bottas, first-ever podium,

:19:08. > :19:11.how was it to walk out there? A really special feeling. Since I

:19:12. > :19:15.was a little kid I have been watching the races and seeing the

:19:16. > :19:20.top three guys coming to the podium. Very special to be in their, of

:19:21. > :19:27.course you always want to be on the top spot. But it was a good start.

:19:28. > :19:31.You made your intentions clear from the start, you lost a place to Nico

:19:32. > :19:35.that you set yourself up perfectly to get the slipstream on the run up

:19:36. > :19:42.to turn to. They getaway was not perfect, just a

:19:43. > :19:47.bit of wheel spin. I knew getting a good exit from here and being in the

:19:48. > :19:56.slipstream I can get him. Luckily we have really quick car in the

:19:57. > :20:02.straight so I got him, I braked really later. Anything you are

:20:03. > :20:07.picked up during the Grand Prix? For us as a team we need to analyse the

:20:08. > :20:14.second pic stop and the timing, we had some problems with the radio

:20:15. > :20:18.communication there. I think ideally we would have wanted to stop on lap

:20:19. > :20:24.earlier but we need to analyse and that cost us anything. Do you feel

:20:25. > :20:29.as though this has shown the rest of the paddock that Williams averaged

:20:30. > :20:36.the benchmark? -- have raised the benchmark? Definitely. It is not the

:20:37. > :20:41.biggest team, but this result shows what we can do once we get

:20:42. > :20:45.everything right and in the future and sure we have more to come.

:20:46. > :20:49.A very popular podium, the biggest cheer of the day went to Williams

:20:50. > :20:53.and factory. Great have a first-hand podium. They

:20:54. > :20:58.look like you are catching Mercedes towards the end.

:20:59. > :21:01.Yes, we were quite surprised, a lot of pace today. Especially in the

:21:02. > :21:07.beginning of the race and at the end we were able to race with them. Very

:21:08. > :21:14.positive to see. We need to have a look if it is only one of, hopefully

:21:15. > :21:18.not. We can learn from this race, try to be stronger next time.

:21:19. > :21:22.Congratulations. Here is Felipe Massa.

:21:23. > :21:28.Such a positive start, it didn't look like you did anything wrong out

:21:29. > :21:30.there. Ultimately you are standing here for Federer your team-mates on

:21:31. > :21:35.the podium. First of all I am happy for him, and

:21:36. > :21:39.he did a great job. I made my pit stop, The Great Gatsby front. The

:21:40. > :21:44.pit stop was not really quick, reasonable. But then I was on the

:21:45. > :21:50.traffic on the out lap, Lewis Hamilton passed me. He was able to

:21:51. > :22:05.pass me. I was also in the traffic with other cars, I lost a lot of

:22:06. > :22:10.time. It was enough to his position. There was a Sopranos, problems at

:22:11. > :22:19.the start. Flying at the end. -- and upside down race.

:22:20. > :22:25.Strange race was pretty disappointed. The first lap we lost

:22:26. > :22:32.too much, we didn't have that much pace to make up. The bit of a

:22:33. > :22:35.confusing weekend. How much did Sebastian's problems

:22:36. > :22:39.impact on your race because we had you had been told he couldn't do

:22:40. > :22:44.certain things. I am not sure that was related to

:22:45. > :22:48.his problems. There were a few overtake things I couldn't use, I

:22:49. > :22:52.was constantly playing around on the steering wheel, getting information

:22:53. > :22:59.from the team, whether that was precautions, I'm still not sure. All

:23:00. > :23:05.in all, we couldn't really give them something they wanted. Silverstone

:23:06. > :23:10.is a track we can hopefully extract a bit more fun.

:23:11. > :23:15.Not a happy bunny today. Yesterday worried about the toast, today they

:23:16. > :23:22.need to be worried about a lot more. -- about the tyres. Sebastian Vettel

:23:23. > :23:27.is not used to watching these races from the pits. The pace was not

:23:28. > :23:30.there, long straights adding to the frustration that this building

:23:31. > :23:32.between their engine partner Renault.

:23:33. > :23:35.Let's have a look at what put him out of the race. No way back from

:23:36. > :23:39.this. Already a lap down. Battling with

:23:40. > :23:42.Gutierrez. If you look at the rear of the Sauber car you will see the

:23:43. > :23:47.red light start afresh, he is no longer using the battery supply to

:23:48. > :23:52.generate some of the power. Here's the rear wing, that means he has to

:23:53. > :23:55.come for another pit stop. It is ironic, at the Red Bull

:23:56. > :23:58.Racing, and sure they would rather be racing last year when I had all

:23:59. > :24:03.that power. Let's check out the results from today's race.

:24:04. > :24:09.Nico Rosberg on the top step today with Lewis Hamilton just behind him

:24:10. > :24:13.for stop Valtteri Bottas's first ever podium and Kimi Raikonnen

:24:14. > :24:17.taking the last point available. In terms of the championship it looks

:24:18. > :24:21.like this. Nico has a 29 point advantage over Lewis going into

:24:22. > :24:25.Silverstone. Daniel Ricciardo will though. There are movers. Look at

:24:26. > :24:28.those Williams boys. Valtteri Bottas jumps up to seventh place and Felipe

:24:29. > :24:33.Massa is up tonight. No change at the top of the Constructors'

:24:34. > :24:37.Championship at Williams are the winners here today. They move ahead

:24:38. > :24:42.of McLaren for fifth place. Just a couple of points behind Force India

:24:43. > :24:46.for stop --. Williams on the move will stop Allan

:24:47. > :24:50.McNish joins us now. To joke about where places were one loss today.

:24:51. > :24:54.We heard from Felipe Massa how we dropped from first to fourth. He

:24:55. > :24:58.said it was traffic on the out lap. He also lost time on the inner and

:24:59. > :25:02.the pit stop. We can see by this video for stop Valtteri Bottas on

:25:03. > :25:09.the left, on the right Felipe Massa. His in that was six tenths of a

:25:10. > :25:12.second slower than Bottas. They stop on the marks perfectly but on the

:25:13. > :25:16.right-hand side you can see Massa is very slightly slower in getaway.

:25:17. > :25:20.That was three quarters of the second difference they crossed the

:25:21. > :25:20.line. That Lewis Hamilton who had already stopped

:25:21. > :25:26.line. That Lewis Hamilton who had earlier was able to attack him up in

:25:27. > :25:28.to turn to for stopping lost time they're defending against Hamilton

:25:29. > :25:30.for stop then he lost time with the Safari late on.

:25:31. > :25:35.for stop then he lost time with the That was the difference between

:25:36. > :25:38.second and fourth. It was also a podium position gone at the end of

:25:39. > :25:40.the race. That made such a monumental

:25:41. > :25:44.difference on track in terms of position.

:25:45. > :25:52.It was a huge difference for stop Valtteri Bottas is on the podium

:25:53. > :25:55.celebrating for Williams this year. They could easily have been Felipe

:25:56. > :25:59.Massa for stop and not 100% sure whether they thought as a team they

:26:00. > :26:03.were in with a chance of this victory. They didn't cover of

:26:04. > :26:07.Mercedes as early as they should have done. What you make of that?

:26:08. > :26:11.Very valid points. Rooms were very much thinking we have had a great

:26:12. > :26:14.qualifying but we cannot possibly be Mercedes sellers concentrate on

:26:15. > :26:19.Trent be best of the rest. In actual fact Mercedes didn't have a pace

:26:20. > :26:22.advantage as we have seen in previous races. They still have that

:26:23. > :26:29.strength in depth but it could have been clockwise.

:26:30. > :26:31.If they look back at all is quite an exciting prospect. We have got a

:26:32. > :26:32.challenger for Mercedes was that they just they just need to believe
