:01:11. > :01:20.Brazil is my home and it's where I have my soul. One thing I have

:01:21. > :01:23.clear, motor racing is exciting. Motor racing is a sport that brings

:01:24. > :01:32.people to the limit, men and machine. A desire to go faster and

:01:33. > :01:39.faster all the time. I was part of it. Fear is very important,

:01:40. > :01:43.fundamental feeling of self preservation. It determines your

:01:44. > :01:46.limits. We expose ourselves to danger. We are used to being on the

:01:47. > :02:06.edge. If you are ahead most of the time,

:02:07. > :02:08.if you are on pole position, if you lead races more than anybody by far,

:02:09. > :02:21.you are always focused. We have to do what we believe is

:02:22. > :02:25.right, not what other people would like you to do, because they are

:02:26. > :02:35.competition, they are not on your side.

:02:36. > :02:43.You have to aim for what your heart tells you. If you believe in

:02:44. > :02:55.something you go to it right to the end. The reason for it is to

:02:56. > :02:59.succeed, so win. -- to win. The philosophy of a Brazilian legend,

:03:00. > :03:02.but it took him eight attempts to win this Brazilian Grand Prix and

:03:03. > :03:06.today Lewis Hamilton will try to emulate his hero and win here in

:03:07. > :03:11.Interlagos Brazil on his ninth attempt. He may have won the World

:03:12. > :03:16.Championship but he has built. This box to take. Mercedes have owned

:03:17. > :03:18.2015 and Nico still has to bring home the second place. He increased

:03:19. > :03:25.his chances with a win last time in home the second place. He increased

:03:26. > :03:28.Mexico. Now 21 points the gap to Sebastian Vettel. Then the finished

:03:29. > :03:37.battle between Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen rages at third place.

:03:38. > :03:44.-- the Finnish battle for fourth place. Williams are ready to

:03:45. > :03:50.celebrate their victory over Red Bull to third place. Obviously the

:03:51. > :03:55.Formula 1 paddock is deeply saddened by the tragic events in Paris two

:03:56. > :03:57.days ago. You will see all of the drivers and officials wearing black

:03:58. > :04:01.armbands in tribute to those who lost their lives, and many of the

:04:02. > :04:07.teams are displaying messages as a mark of respect. We will have all of

:04:08. > :04:12.the race action for you in just a moment, but first of all here is the

:04:13. > :04:15.story of qualifying, with Lee McKenzie.

:04:16. > :04:21.Fernando Alonso had a second engine failure of the weekend, which gave

:04:22. > :04:25.him some time to work on his tan if not his grid position. Jenson Button

:04:26. > :04:31.also hashed out in Q1 but before they went back to a despondent

:04:32. > :04:35.garage, data at the time to savour the podium, something the two former

:04:36. > :04:46.champions have not done for a while. The two Felipe Massa riddle art

:04:47. > :04:50.friends but that was almost tested when they came together on the

:04:51. > :04:54.track. Felipe Nasr was given a 3 place grid penalty and now starts

:04:55. > :04:57.from 13. Nico Rosberg had looked more comfortable than Lewis Hamilton

:04:58. > :05:02.throughout the three sessions and he put in a great early lap to take

:05:03. > :05:05.provisional pole, which he then battered again. Hamilton is flying

:05:06. > :05:11.but then missed out on pole position by eight hundredths of a second. The

:05:12. > :05:13.lab was really good and to try and better that afterwards, it's such a

:05:14. > :05:24.fine line, difficult to pull something out. I was down a tent and

:05:25. > :05:31.a half or something like that. It makes for an exciting race tomorrow.

:05:32. > :05:34.It was the speed on one lap and beating me in qualifying all the

:05:35. > :05:38.time, that is what made the difference. Nico Rosberg made his

:05:39. > :05:43.with consecutive pole position and Mercedes set a new single-season

:05:44. > :05:48.record for the most front row starts, with 31. The Ferraris line

:05:49. > :05:53.up behind. Hulkenberg is fifth, matching his best position of the

:05:54. > :05:58.year. Daniil Kvyat is alongside. After a grid penalty, Valtteri

:05:59. > :06:03.Bottas emerges in seven. Felipe Nasr is the highest placed Brazilian and

:06:04. > :06:16.behind them are the two Toro Rossos. The Saubers are 13th. Pastor

:06:17. > :06:20.Maldonado gets his highest starting position at Interlagos. Daniel

:06:21. > :06:27.Ricciardo used the new upgraded Renault engine but not only was it

:06:28. > :06:29.slower than the older one, he had to take a templated for the change.

:06:30. > :06:37.Fernando Alonso is alongside. COMMENTATOR: Getting ready for the

:06:38. > :06:45.start, Lewis Hamilton chasing his 44th career win and Mercedes win, at

:06:46. > :06:46.a track he is yet to conquer. Rosberg against Hamilton up towards

:06:47. > :06:54.Turn 1, Vettel gets away Rosberg against Hamilton up towards

:06:55. > :06:58.Hamilton is in front, was Berg going wheel-to-wheel but decides against

:06:59. > :07:03.it and now Rosberg has the advantage, Vettel in third and

:07:04. > :07:10.Raikkonen in fourth place. Lotus running wide. Daniil Kvyat is going

:07:11. > :07:19.to be overtaken. That is Hulkenberg who lost some places who is coming

:07:20. > :07:29.back. Rosberg makes a great start and offline goes one of the

:07:30. > :07:37.McLarens. It was Alonzo, I think. Rosberg, Hamilton, Vettel. Max

:07:38. > :07:40.Verstappen has had a good getaway in ninth. Sergio Perez is 10th. Felipe

:07:41. > :07:45.Massa in the blue and yellow Sauber -- Felipe Nasr. Alonzo is still

:07:46. > :07:49.running and hopefully he will not have lost too much ground. Problems

:07:50. > :07:53.for Carlos Sainz. The rear axle is completely locked. You can see the

:07:54. > :07:58.black lines on the track. Whatever the

:07:59. > :08:04.It's all gone horribly wrong for Carlos Sainz in the opening stages,

:08:05. > :08:15.but Nico Rosberg leads at the end of the first lap. If the rear axle is

:08:16. > :08:18.locked, they may well have to go for the safety car. Sergio Perez

:08:19. > :08:23.battling with Verstappen and he is in front of the Dutchman. Trying to

:08:24. > :08:30.see if Romain Grosjean has made progress, he has. A reasonably good

:08:31. > :08:33.start from Romain Grosjean. Maldonado in 15. Yellows in the

:08:34. > :08:39.second sector of the lap, so no overtaking there. Rosberg leads from

:08:40. > :08:42.Hamilton, they are all passing the stricken car of the Carlos Sainz

:08:43. > :08:46.over on the right hand side. One Toro Rosso out of this Grand Prix

:08:47. > :08:50.already and that doesn't help them close the gap towards Lotus, but the

:08:51. > :08:54.other Toro Rosso currently holding on to 10th place. So in the points,

:08:55. > :08:58.with Grosjean battling not far behind him. That could be very

:08:59. > :09:03.interesting to keep an eye on. Sergio Perez holding onto ninth

:09:04. > :09:08.position. The two Ferraris pulling away from the next group, which is

:09:09. > :09:17.headed up by Bottas. It wasn't a bad start from Hamilton. You will see

:09:18. > :09:22.Hamilton comes in behind Rosberg, picks up the slipstream and then

:09:23. > :09:27.goes to the outside. A fast start from Bottas around the outside as

:09:28. > :09:35.well. Hamilton tries to go around the outside but decides to her on

:09:36. > :09:43.the side of caution. The Renaults going two abreast at Turn 3. That's

:09:44. > :09:48.not something you normally see. Vettel's getaway, he was just out

:09:49. > :09:52.powered by the Mercedes Grand Prix car. A small lock-up as he defends

:09:53. > :09:56.the inside line. Defending fresh air because if Raikkonen was beside him,

:09:57. > :10:02.he would be under strict instructions... Hulkenberg didn't

:10:03. > :10:19.capitalise on his strong qualifying position. This battle between the

:10:20. > :10:26.Finns, not much to separate them. Ricciardo... Into the pits. He was

:10:27. > :10:30.about 13th position before the pit stop. That is very early to be going

:10:31. > :10:33.in. Getting a cheer from the crowd, I'm not sure what that is but I

:10:34. > :10:39.presume it is a Brazilian overtaking someone. Hamilton ahead of Rosberg

:10:40. > :10:47.and he has DRS, so he's going for it. No question of him having to

:10:48. > :10:52.extend the life of the tyres. Rosberg is the prime call on who

:10:53. > :10:56.gets to stop first. It is still was Berg by a narrow margin over his

:10:57. > :11:01.team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Vettel sitting a second and a Harper hide

:11:02. > :11:06.in third. Raikkonen is in fourth. The first of the Red Bulls is in

:11:07. > :11:10.sixth. The other one is at the back. Daniel Ricciardo, Daniil

:11:11. > :11:17.Kvyat, Hulkenberg, Felipe Massa, Sergio Perez and Verstappen. A

:11:18. > :11:25.little gap behind them to Felipe Nasr and Romain Grosjean. It may

:11:26. > :11:28.well be a strategy called to get him clean air. We know that that engine

:11:29. > :11:34.has not performed as well as the other engine. It looks like we're

:11:35. > :11:38.about to see one of the first DRS passes of the afternoon. Here comes

:11:39. > :11:46.Romain Grosjean, he's going to go flying past Felipe Nasr's Sauber.

:11:47. > :11:49.That was just enough for Romain Grosjean to take full advantage and

:11:50. > :11:52.use the DRS and the Mercedes horsepower up the hill. That puts

:11:53. > :11:57.Grosjean on the verge of points, although he still needs to move up

:11:58. > :12:01.one more. He will go chasing after Max Verstappen in that tussle

:12:02. > :12:03.between Toro Rosso and Lotus. Let's watch how this evolved from Felipe

:12:04. > :12:08.Nasr's points of view. He position watch how this evolved from Felipe

:12:09. > :12:14.him in -- himself in his slipstream and was unable to capitalise.

:12:15. > :12:18.RADIO: Well done, keep pushing. Felipe Nasr had been asking how to

:12:19. > :12:25.get more straight-line speed on the radio. The little mistake that he

:12:26. > :12:29.made I don't think helped matters. Daniel Ricciardo being urged to get

:12:30. > :12:33.through and passed the Manor Marussia F1 cars as soon as

:12:34. > :12:35.possible. Not to lose any time behind them, and he is behind Will

:12:36. > :12:39.Stevens. He nearly rammed into behind them, and he is behind Will

:12:40. > :12:46.back of him, I don't think he was prepared for just how slow the Manor

:12:47. > :12:50.Marussia is. It shouldn't be a big surprise. His team-mate locking

:12:51. > :12:54.massively as he rolls the kind to Turn 10. This is really bad news for

:12:55. > :12:59.Daniel Ricciardo, that he has spent the best part of a quarter of a lap

:13:00. > :13:02.behind him. Nico Hulkenberg has come into the pits, quite an early start

:13:03. > :13:06.for the Force India on Lap 10. Should still be able to make it a

:13:07. > :13:11.two-stop race from there but he is one of the earlier stops. He will be

:13:12. > :13:18.aiming to come out in front of Daniel Ricciardo, as Daniel goes for

:13:19. > :13:25.the pass. Even without DRS, I think the straight-line speed is blatantly

:13:26. > :13:30.obvious. He will hope to come out in front of Hulkenberg. He is well out

:13:31. > :13:34.in front. That was probably a strategic move for them. So,

:13:35. > :13:37.Hulkenberg trying to get himself a bit of clean air now as well. A

:13:38. > :13:38.Hulkenberg trying to get himself a number of teams reporting that tyres

:13:39. > :13:46.are OK, and Hulkenberg them.

:13:47. > :13:54.RADIO: Box this lap, box this lab. Felipe Massa being brought in next

:13:55. > :13:58.as well. Hulkenberg dated in Lap 10 and the predicted life of this tyre,

:13:59. > :14:06.that gives him 30 laps for the rest of the race. Bang on predictions so

:14:07. > :14:14.far. Everyone is going with two stop options. Plenty in, Kvyat is in and

:14:15. > :14:20.Felipe Massa as well, and there is -- and Sergio Perez. Felipe Massa,

:14:21. > :14:24.the Williams crew going to work. It looks like a clean start. Romain

:14:25. > :14:28.Grosjean peeling off now and Daniil Kvyat is already on his way back out

:14:29. > :14:32.once again. J Parrott is still going to be in front of Grosjean, but

:14:33. > :14:36.where will they both be relative to Verstappen, who has stayed out?

:14:37. > :14:39.That's going to be an interesting one in the lower reaches of the top

:14:40. > :14:40.ten, but definitely trying to undercut the Toro Rosso of

:14:41. > :14:52.Verstappen. It'll be all about the breaks into

:14:53. > :14:58.four. He manages to fend off Kvyat, they were both on the limit on the

:14:59. > :15:04.brakes into Turn 4. Nico Hulkenberg, a very useful manoeuvre. Keeps him

:15:05. > :15:08.ahead of Daniil Kvyat. Bottas is now being in the other Williams, let's

:15:09. > :15:13.see if he has an equally trouble-free stop. That looked like

:15:14. > :15:15.a superb stop by the Williams team. Not the best of the season but

:15:16. > :15:19.nonetheless effective. This Not the best of the season but

:15:20. > :15:23.interesting, Verstappen, to see where Verstappen comes back out. All

:15:24. > :15:27.having to react because they know the fresh tyre gives them the

:15:28. > :15:35.opportunity to push hard. You can find yourself getting jumped. He is

:15:36. > :15:39.reacted to that. Let's keep an eye. He's going to be close with

:15:40. > :15:47.Grosjean, making his way to the exit Turn 3. Meanwhile, Rosberg

:15:48. > :15:51.continuing... Verstappen just popped out in front of Grosjean. We're not

:15:52. > :15:55.seeing it, but I think Verstappen has held onto that position, thought

:15:56. > :15:59.it would work, fought Lotus to go for the earliest. You can see the

:16:00. > :16:05.disappointment on the faces of Toro Rosso because it hasn't... In fact,

:16:06. > :16:09.they'll be happy, because they stay in front of Lotus. That has worked

:16:10. > :16:14.well. Ferrari coming in by the looks of things, will Mercedes react?

:16:15. > :16:20.Raikkonen into the pit. Hamilton has just edged the gap at 1.5 seconds,

:16:21. > :16:26.interesting. It would suggest to me that he has the speed but again he

:16:27. > :16:30.has been neutralised like we saw in Mexico. It continues to highlight

:16:31. > :16:34.the importance of qualifying, getting out of the first corner

:16:35. > :16:38.first. Keeping an eye from the commentary box position, expect the

:16:39. > :16:42.Mercedes team to move fairly soon, we expected to be Rosberg. He'll

:16:43. > :16:47.have the advantage of fresh tyres. If he were to pit now, he'd come out

:16:48. > :16:53.just behind Raikkonen. TEAM RADIO: books, books, box, remember

:16:54. > :16:58.left-hand. Raikkonen just rejoined, plenty still to play with alongside

:16:59. > :17:02.Valtteri Bottas. We could have another dice between the two, only

:17:03. > :17:04.three points separating Bottas and Raikkonen in the World

:17:05. > :17:08.Championships, there could be a race between them. At the moment

:17:09. > :17:10.Bottas's troubles are to get past Maldonado, who hasn't been in yet. A

:17:11. > :17:18.genuine race for position. started on the medium compound tyre.

:17:19. > :17:22.In comes the race leader, Nico Rosberg. We need to see an

:17:23. > :17:26.absolutely clean stop from Rosberg's point of view. This is

:17:27. > :17:33.where Hamilton has an opportunity if he can get a quick lap in. It'll be

:17:34. > :17:38.difficult, he'll need to go faster. It was a slow start. He can pull off

:17:39. > :17:43.a 2 second pit stop, so Hamilton's fate could lie in the power of the

:17:44. > :17:48.stop. Vettel was coming in, so they couldn't get him out, that could

:17:49. > :17:55.cost him crucial time. Vettel has been running about two four tenths

:17:56. > :17:59.of a second quicker than Mercedes. The Ferrari starting to show more

:18:00. > :18:03.pace than maybe the practice times would have suggested. Bottas has got

:18:04. > :18:09.past Maldonado, an important manoeuvre. Get that done quickly.

:18:10. > :18:14.Not be held up behind the Lotus that did start on those medium tyres.

:18:15. > :18:19.You'll go deeper into this race before making his pit stop. Hamilton

:18:20. > :18:24.leads this race, will he be in on the next lap? He be in on the next

:18:25. > :18:29.lap? He's coming in the Mercedes team can deliver him a 2 second pit

:18:30. > :18:33.stop, he has a real chance. He was one and a half seconds behind before

:18:34. > :18:38.the stops. Looking at how Bottas cup as Maldonado, relatively

:18:39. > :18:42.straightforward into Turn 1. Hamilton into the pits as Rob Bird

:18:43. > :18:50.sets the fastest time around the circuit. -- as Rosberg set the

:18:51. > :18:56.fastest time. 3.6. He gained a little bit but I'm not sure it'll be

:18:57. > :19:00.enough. Rosberg passing the commentary box now. Side-by-side in

:19:01. > :19:04.Turn 1, unfortunately Lewis as to make his way around the inner pit

:19:05. > :19:09.lane area much slower. The gap is going to be the same, if not

:19:10. > :19:14.slightly more, because Rosberg has aced the middle sector. Rosberg

:19:15. > :19:20.retains his lead, but Hamilton is still close behind him, plenty of

:19:21. > :19:24.time to go in this Grand Prix. Only on Lap 15 of 71 and Hamilton will

:19:25. > :19:29.have to come up with a plan not to be beaten. At backed races by his

:19:30. > :19:36.team-mate Nico Rosberg. Couldn't find a way past in Mexico, what can

:19:37. > :19:40.he do here? Was that stop a problem or was it simply waiting for Vettel

:19:41. > :19:44.to come in that delayed him? Watch the lights, looks like he's waiting

:19:45. > :19:50.for the lights. It was Vettel who got in the way. Hulkenberg catchy

:19:51. > :19:56.Maldonado. Should be very straightforward and it is, Maldonado

:19:57. > :20:00.doesn't fight the position. On tyres that have done more work. Hulkenberg

:20:01. > :20:04.sixth, ahead of him Valtteri Bottas. The first in from Williams

:20:05. > :20:08.was great from Bottas, they had that three pace penalty on the grid and

:20:09. > :20:12.it put him seventh, but there is Bottas running round in fifth

:20:13. > :20:18.place. Getting ahead of Force India. Chasing Raikkonen. We plan to extend

:20:19. > :20:22.this stint slightly, it will be longer than planned on this stint.

:20:23. > :20:32.Rosberg will be looking after his tyres, usually effective at doing

:20:33. > :20:38.that. Not much that could be done. Small attempt at defending, but

:20:39. > :20:43.really you just pick up dirt on your tyres. Verstappen has been told to

:20:44. > :20:48.control the gap to Grosjean behind him because we're into a long stint.

:20:49. > :20:51.Hamilton has suddenly caught Rosberg, the gap down to half a

:20:52. > :20:56.second as they crossed the line. There it is. Whether there was a

:20:57. > :21:00.mistake on that last lap by Nico Rosberg I don't know, but it's got

:21:01. > :21:05.closer. Then it opens likely because of that long Turn 3 and Hamilton

:21:06. > :21:09.hasn't been fed the same clean air as Rosberg in front, Rosberg knows

:21:10. > :21:15.that, that's the benefit of leading the Grand Prix. He'll be working his

:21:16. > :21:19.tyres harder. TEAM RADIO: Lewis is trying quite hard. Which means he

:21:20. > :21:24.may well be playing with engine settings and will have a certain

:21:25. > :21:28.amount of prime engine settings they can use during the Grand Prix. At

:21:29. > :21:34.this stage Lewis may be using all of them. I don't know the exact amounts

:21:35. > :21:39.Mercedes will have, they might have ten available, which runs the engine

:21:40. > :21:43.closer to its maximum qualifying potential. The downside is you use

:21:44. > :21:47.more fuel. Therefore you don't have that available for later in the

:21:48. > :21:52.Grand Prix. Really putting a charge on here, Lewis Hamilton, in his

:21:53. > :21:58.attempts to close the gap up. This was the previous lap. Hamilton got

:21:59. > :22:01.pretty close, didn't he? Yeah, the downside of carrying speed is it

:22:02. > :22:14.compromises your line through, too. Let him see my car, you can pick up

:22:15. > :22:18.things in your peripheral vision. Matter is chasing Maldonado because

:22:19. > :22:31.Kvyat is already gone past. -- Felipe Massa. Kvyat is in seventh

:22:32. > :22:33.place, Massa eighth. Lewis's tire surface temperatures will be going

:22:34. > :22:38.through the roof as he follows his team-mate. One of the things about

:22:39. > :22:43.this racetrack is most of the corners, 4-12, are in a 2 kilometre

:22:44. > :22:50.stretch, so the tire surface temperature goes up and you tend to

:22:51. > :22:55.slide. -- tyre surface temperature. You can't get the tyre to recover,

:22:56. > :23:01.there is no straight to cool things down, that is why it's exacerbating

:23:02. > :23:07.the problem. We can see Nasr going down the side of the McLaren, big

:23:08. > :23:13.lock-up. Jenson Button is fair, leaves the door open. -- leaves.

:23:14. > :23:21.TEAM RADIO: impossible to follow this track. Hamilton says it's

:23:22. > :23:25.impossible to follow at this track. It's the nature in Formula 1 and

:23:26. > :23:29.that it's terribly difficult with a loss of downforce, just like Mexico

:23:30. > :23:34.last time when Rosberg has lead position, proving very difficult for

:23:35. > :23:38.Hamilton. Grosjean moving out of the slipstream of Verstappen, not a

:23:39. > :23:41.proper attempt to overtake. Like we saw Hamilton moving around behind

:23:42. > :23:45.Rosberg, doing the same thing, poking the nose into the mirrors of

:23:46. > :23:51.Max Verstappen. Verstappen has been showing a very good turn of pace.

:23:52. > :23:56.Ricciardo in the pits. He went on to a set of mediums, now a second set.

:23:57. > :24:00.I wonder if he can get to the end, might just be able to do it.

:24:01. > :24:05.Raikkonen tip 35 laps on a set of mediums last year. He would have to

:24:06. > :24:10.do 40 laps this year. Perhaps achievable for Raikkonen to do so.

:24:11. > :24:13.This was Marcus Ericsson making a move on the McLaren of Fernando

:24:14. > :24:19.Alonso. Very little Alonsoa could do about it. Back on board with

:24:20. > :24:23.Verstappen. The Toro Rosso deems a part of what Verstappen has been so

:24:24. > :24:28.impressive with is his consistency during the raids and his ability to

:24:29. > :24:33.look after the tyres despite it being his first year. You saw Perez

:24:34. > :24:37.ahead, oversteer through Turn 12, didn't get great early drive, which

:24:38. > :24:42.is allowing Verstappen to really get into slipstream. An opportunity and

:24:43. > :24:47.Perez knows it. Here comes Verstappen round the outside into

:24:48. > :24:52.Turn 1, almost wheel-to-wheel. He is true, he's done it again! Another

:24:53. > :24:57.mighty pass. -- he is through. It has allowed the other car of

:24:58. > :25:02.Grosjean to come through because Perez lost so much momentum.

:25:03. > :25:06.Grosjean going to have another go. Too far back but that pass is the

:25:07. > :25:09.mark of a champion. Only his first season in Formula 1, but nobody does

:25:10. > :25:13.that, doesn't give the position. It would be easy to think this would be

:25:14. > :25:18.marginal but he is prepared to take the risk. And stay on the road which

:25:19. > :25:23.is the great thing. That'll come into bit, we've seen Jenson Button

:25:24. > :25:29.stop and go back out. He's had a pit stop. Vettel looking... He's going

:25:30. > :25:30.onto the soft tyre, different strategy from Ferrari. Slightly

:25:31. > :25:34.different look at this. strategy from Ferrari. Slightly

:25:35. > :25:39.soft tyre longer than most other teams. Made me wonder if they might

:25:40. > :25:46.do something different. He will come out in front of Bottas, his only

:25:47. > :25:54.real challenger this afternoon. Raikkonen, I suspect, will be

:25:55. > :25:56.neutralised by the team. Vettel is clearly faster, you will see Bottas

:25:57. > :25:58.arriving in the background. Still a healthy margin, fantastic pass.

:25:59. > :26:02.Round the outside, can't describe how difficult it is, gets himself

:26:03. > :26:09.into position. He's not ahead, he's been squeezed. How does he do that

:26:10. > :26:12.without losing his front wing? That was amazing, Perez must have

:26:13. > :26:19.thought, I've got this corner, know I haven't. He got squeezed out as a

:26:20. > :26:23.result. Brilliant, first-class driving, can you imagine seeing him

:26:24. > :26:28.in a car running front? The race leader comes in for a second pit

:26:29. > :26:32.stop on Lap 33, relatively early, you'd have thought, but on his way

:26:33. > :26:37.once again and they've done it quickly from Rosberg. Hamilton comes

:26:38. > :26:41.in straightaway we can assume he ran the tyres out, if he stays out he

:26:42. > :26:47.may rue the fact he allowed the gap to grow to almost three seconds.

:26:48. > :26:50.Basically on the Rosberg side of the garage they know they've got a

:26:51. > :26:55.bigger safety margin at that top than the first, the gap was one and

:26:56. > :27:01.a half seconds. TEAM RADIO: OK, Lewis, it's Hammer time. Because

:27:02. > :27:05.Rosberg has made his stop. That's very interesting, he'll have to do a

:27:06. > :27:11.long stint here, but it is achievable, Rosberg did a similar

:27:12. > :27:17.stint last year around this track. Stevens and Rossi ahead of Hamilton.

:27:18. > :27:21.He'll be in a situation where if he runs another lap you'll get into a

:27:22. > :27:25.situation of losing lap time even if he's got what would normally be

:27:26. > :27:32.clean-air ahead of him. Hamilton leading, Rosberg second. TEAM RADIO:

:27:33. > :27:37.box, box, box, box. Going to respond straightaway. With the traffic, no

:27:38. > :27:40.choice, perfect strategy for Rosberg because Hamilton didn't have any

:27:41. > :27:44.opportunity. Here comes Lewis Hamilton from what was briefly the

:27:45. > :27:48.lead, but it'll be back into second place and want again he'll be

:27:49. > :27:52.chasing after his team-mate. Is he to be frustrated once again here in

:27:53. > :27:58.Brazil? He has the pace, can't get quite close enough to put the attack

:27:59. > :28:02.on Rosberg. Let's see where Rosberg did as he comes through the first

:28:03. > :28:06.corner, very similar to how it was at the first pit stop. Look out for

:28:07. > :28:09.the Ferrari that's going to come out. Hamilton will be behind

:28:10. > :28:17.Raikkonen, not what he wanted to see. And the traffic of... Fernando

:28:18. > :28:24.Alonso. In the McLaren. Not able to use the tyres. It never rains but it

:28:25. > :28:28.pours. Further chink in the armour for Hamilton to try and get on the

:28:29. > :28:33.back of Rosberg. Alonso gets out of the way, still comprises Hamilton in

:28:34. > :28:37.his approach to Turn 6. Alonso has been lapped, so he has to get out of

:28:38. > :28:42.the way, Raikkonen doesn't at all because he stayed out there on this

:28:43. > :28:45.set of tyres, he's fighting for position. Raikkonen currently third,

:28:46. > :28:53.Vettel fastest on track. Looking at Maldonado. On the Sauber Erickson.

:28:54. > :28:58.There was contact. That's how it can go wrong. Between Verstappen and

:28:59. > :29:02.Perez. That's what's so impressive about Verstappen, other than the

:29:03. > :29:06.coming together with Grosjean in Monaco, clearly an error of

:29:07. > :29:11.coming together with Grosjean in deliberate judgment on his part...

:29:12. > :29:11.Hamilton going past Raikkonen. Fairly straightforward for

:29:12. > :29:14.Hamilton going past Raikkonen. who moves to the inside as they come

:29:15. > :29:21.across the start finish line. who moves to the inside as they come

:29:22. > :29:25.him back past the Ferrari. The Turn 1 incident under review between

:29:26. > :29:32.Ericsson and Maldonado. We haven't really seen whose fault it was.

:29:33. > :29:38.Maldonado looks like he ran into the side of Erickson, who was slightly

:29:39. > :29:40.ahead. I can't stress enough what a nice guy Pastor Maldonado is in the

:29:41. > :29:53.paddock, one of the driver favourites.

:29:54. > :29:58.RADIO: Nico Kranjcar going plan B. Plan B.

:29:59. > :30:06.Maybe it means a third had stopped coming up because if they were not

:30:07. > :30:11.maintaining that kind of pace, it would imply they would have to make

:30:12. > :30:21.a third pit stop. I think you're right. That was Grosjean making a

:30:22. > :30:26.move, I think, on Perez. That is an important position, that is for 12

:30:27. > :30:29.place. He had lost that position to Grosjean, acrid temp too, so I do

:30:30. > :30:34.know if he had a go at getting it back. A pit stop, that is why they

:30:35. > :30:41.were so close together again. Maldonado had a little look at

:30:42. > :30:47.Felipe Nasr again. Just to finish on the fuel thing, since the hybrid

:30:48. > :30:54.element was brought into Formula 1, they use around 40% less fuel per

:30:55. > :30:58.Grand Prix than we used to, so it's a definite step towards saving the

:30:59. > :31:03.environment. After the pit stop, grows and had to do it again. That

:31:04. > :31:07.is how he did it come a simple and straightforward pass on Sergio

:31:08. > :31:11.Perez. There is Felipe Nasr, in ninth position. Maldonado right with

:31:12. > :31:15.him. There will be an opportunity here with the DRS in operation.

:31:16. > :31:19.Contact between him and the other Sauber, but this time it should be

:31:20. > :31:23.mission accomplished well before he turns in, and that brings Maldonado

:31:24. > :31:31.into ninth position, chasing after Hulkenberg. Sebastian Vettel onto

:31:32. > :31:37.the back of Raikkonen as well. Others overtook him here. This is in

:31:38. > :31:43.to Turn 6 and Raikkonen allows Vettel to go through. Keep an eye on

:31:44. > :31:58.when Raikkonen will do his second stop. You see Daniel Ricciardo being

:31:59. > :32:01.overtaken by Nico Rosberg. Pastor Maldonado, standard operating

:32:02. > :32:06.procedure for the stewards, they probably don't change the name when

:32:07. > :32:09.they type it into the computer to apply the penalties, they are so

:32:10. > :32:15.used to him getting involved in something. A fairly straightforward

:32:16. > :32:18.two-stop strategy, even if Mercedes are looking at three stops today.

:32:19. > :32:24.Daniil Kvyat will be on his way and he will open more of a points gap on

:32:25. > :32:30.his team-mate. If things stay that way. Grosjean side-by-side with

:32:31. > :32:34.Verstappen. Romain Grosjean has got the Lotus passed the Toro Rosso.

:32:35. > :32:38.They have been fighting for a long period and finally the Frenchman has

:32:39. > :32:46.got past the Flying Dutchman. That is crucial for the final point.

:32:47. > :32:51.Rosberg getting past Perez, lapping him of course, and Felipe Massa has

:32:52. > :32:55.just pitted as well. There is Hamilton and the gap is that much

:32:56. > :33:02.bigger, 2.8 seconds between the two leaders. It's the yo-yoing around,

:33:03. > :33:05.going between the traffic. Verstappen goes defensive and

:33:06. > :33:10.Grosjean manages to get the car stopped. Good comeback from

:33:11. > :33:16.Grosjean. Into the pits comes Valtteri Bottas, from fit position.

:33:17. > :33:21.He stays with the harder tyre, the medium compound tyre. Joining us

:33:22. > :33:26.from the pit wall, team principal for Red Bull, Christian Horner. Talk

:33:27. > :33:31.us through the various strategies a bit, Christian. Daniel Ricciardo has

:33:32. > :33:35.been in, looks like a conventional to stop but Mercedes look like going

:33:36. > :33:41.three stops? Yes, you've read it correctly. Daniil Kvyat is running a

:33:42. > :33:45.standard two. He has got warmer tyres and Hulkenberg and that should

:33:46. > :33:52.benefit him by the end of the race. Ricciardo is going for all three.

:33:53. > :33:56.Are you seeing any surprises in the tyre performance today compared to

:33:57. > :34:02.what you saw in practice? Not too much. A little bit higher but not

:34:03. > :34:02.dramatically so. It's not too different.

:34:03. > :34:08.dramatically so. It's not too eyes are on your own team, but have

:34:09. > :34:11.you been surprised by the pace of Vettel in the Ferrari relative to

:34:12. > :34:13.you been surprised by the pace of the Mercedes? Yes, he's been

:34:14. > :34:19.impressive so far. Interesting strategy to go into that softer tyre

:34:20. > :34:24.at this stage as well. It will be interesting if a pace car came out

:34:25. > :34:29.now, that would really bring it alive. That would be quite fun. What

:34:30. > :34:33.do you reckon of Daniel Ricciardo's opportunity to score points here,

:34:34. > :34:41.Christian? There is always a chance. He's fighting with Perez. It is

:34:42. > :34:45.still in the offing. Incomes Kimi Raikkonen right now. We are just

:34:46. > :34:52.watching Daniel Ricciardo but I can tell you in the other Ferrari he is

:34:53. > :34:56.coming into the pit lane and Ferrari looking at getting third and fourth

:34:57. > :35:02.here which would be a solid result for them. Vettel's pace, he is

:35:03. > :35:06.starting to drop away from Mercedes's leading pace, it has to

:35:07. > :35:12.be said. He is on the option tyre, the soft tyre. We know Raikkonen,

:35:13. > :35:15.that was a fairly healthy stint from Raikkonen on those prime tyres.

:35:16. > :35:21.Raikkonen taking a gamble trying to mix it up with the soft tyre. He is

:35:22. > :35:26.now starting to lose time to Hamilton, but Weekes begged them to

:35:27. > :35:30.all do another stop. Ricciardo still trying to find a way past Perez at

:35:31. > :35:34.the moment. The DRS is helping him up the hill but it is not getting

:35:35. > :35:35.him it close enough to the back of the Mercedes powered Force India.

:35:36. > :35:47.Let's listen to Vettel We are expecting that Mercedes will

:35:48. > :35:48.do that as well and in comes Sebastian Vettel right now.

:35:49. > :35:54.do that as well and in comes they finish the race on the medium

:35:55. > :36:02.compound tyre? They are going for the medium tyre. By way he goes.

:36:03. > :36:05.compound tyre? They are going for slightly slow start from Raikkonen,

:36:06. > :36:09.I don't know what caused the delay, but a quick Stopforth Sebastian

:36:10. > :36:13.Vettel. Looks to be on target for a safe third position. What he wanted

:36:14. > :36:17.was to outscore Nico Rosberg in order to be able to get himself into

:36:18. > :36:20.second place in the championship, but right now Rosberg is doing

:36:21. > :36:25.enough to secure second place in the championship. If he were to win with

:36:26. > :36:31.Hamilton second and Vettel third, Rosberg will definitely finished

:36:32. > :36:33.runner-up in the 2015 World Championship and Vettel's

:36:34. > :36:36.opportunity to split the two miss Adey 's drivers will be over going

:36:37. > :36:45.into that race. RADIO: So, box, box, box. We have

:36:46. > :36:50.seen Vettel do it and we're going to see both of the Mercedes cars coming

:36:51. > :36:52.in. There will be some anxiety. Let's listen up to this whole pit

:36:53. > :37:07.stop process. Absolutely perfect. And no mistake

:37:08. > :37:12.there. 2.6 seconds stop and here is a lunch from Ricciardo down the

:37:13. > :37:18.inside of Perez, into Turn 1. If he's got the exit, he should be good

:37:19. > :37:23.for the next... Let's see if he comes back at him. He's got an

:37:24. > :37:29.opportunity. He's going to have to go to the outside to do it. Brake

:37:30. > :37:34.dust coming off the outside wheels of Perez's car. Very close, is he

:37:35. > :37:41.going to have another go? RADIO: So, box, box. Box, box.

:37:42. > :37:44.Hamilton is being asked to come into the pits now and we're into the

:37:45. > :37:51.closing stages of this race. Whether Lewis Hamilton can really launch an

:37:52. > :37:56.attack on his team-mate, or is it all done and dusted with a clean

:37:57. > :38:00.stop from Nico Rosberg. We're hearing that Jenson Button has been

:38:01. > :38:04.told to let Alonso passed and he has said OK, but he seems a long way

:38:05. > :38:10.behind, just looking at the times, Alonso 1.7 seconds behind Jenson

:38:11. > :38:15.Button. We also believe that Alonso complained about Jenson Button's

:38:16. > :38:24.stop being before his. In comes Lewis Hamilton. We saw a great stop

:38:25. > :38:30.for Nico Rosberg. Rosberg once again going past our commentary box

:38:31. > :38:33.position. Pretty much where it was last time. Hamilton will be slower

:38:34. > :38:37.as he exits the pit lane. It's d?j? vu, we've seen that twice before

:38:38. > :38:42.where they are absolutely parallel to each other, one coming out of the

:38:43. > :38:46.pits and the other on the circuit. Three drivers at the top of their

:38:47. > :38:50.form driving a fantastic car, and Vettel has just had the fastest lap

:38:51. > :38:58.of the Grand Prix, looking to try and put a bit of pressure onto the

:38:59. > :39:03.back of Hamilton. Vettel has got some traffic to Maldonado. A lot of

:39:04. > :39:07.traffic to get through, we want to keep that gap to Lewis.

:39:08. > :39:15.He's going to bring him out back behind Sergio Perez once again.

:39:16. > :39:28.Meanwhile Maldonado lining up Felipe Nasr. Grosjean... Hamilton will be

:39:29. > :39:32.frustrated by this. Hamilton, sorry to talk about something that our

:39:33. > :39:35.viewers can't see, but unfortunately the really important battle is at

:39:36. > :39:39.the front and we are watching something down at the back. A big

:39:40. > :39:47.lock-up with Hamilton. Really badly treated by Grosjean, holding him up.

:39:48. > :39:51.That has allowed a gap of half a second to Rosberg in that middle

:39:52. > :39:56.sector. Meanwhile a fascinating battle for somewhere in the middle

:39:57. > :40:01.of the pack, treating the audiences around the world! This was Romain

:40:02. > :40:06.Grosjean not making it particularly easy for Hamilton. He locks up and

:40:07. > :40:11.you can see the damage being done to his tyre. Last time around it was

:40:12. > :40:18.15-1 apiece between Rosberg and Hamilton.

:40:19. > :40:26.RADIO: I think I've damaged my floor. Damaged my floor, he is

:40:27. > :40:34.saying! This could be off these high curbs. Look at this, Maldonado and

:40:35. > :40:41.Felipe Nasr side-by-side! He is on a wide line, Maldonado. DRS

:40:42. > :40:47.activation, so Felipe Nasr is going to have to be defensive. Maldonado

:40:48. > :40:51.down the outside. Babylon the brakes, Felipe Nasr will not let him

:40:52. > :40:54.through! Good stuff from the Brazilian, fending off the

:40:55. > :40:57.Venezuelan for the moment. He ran wide there, putting

:40:58. > :41:04.Venezuelan for the moment. He ran kerb. That is great stuff from

:41:05. > :41:09.Felipe Nasr. Almost the uncertainty that go with wheels are real --

:41:10. > :41:12.wheel-to-wheel racing. It's these small opportunities, you have to

:41:13. > :41:17.give every indication to the top teams that you are a racer. That's

:41:18. > :41:22.what we see from Verstappen consistently. Is all about the final

:41:23. > :41:29.point between those two. Meanwhile still watching Grosjean as well.

:41:30. > :41:41.That is Verstappen on Maldonado there. Excuse me, on Grosjean. This

:41:42. > :41:47.is on board with Maldonado. Can he get Felipe Nasr this time into Turn

:41:48. > :41:51.1? Hughes down the inside, and yeah... Actually very

:41:52. > :41:55.straightforward in the end. Felipe Massa has made a pit stop. That will

:41:56. > :41:58.hurt him a bit as he tries to make it to the end of the Grand Prix.

:41:59. > :42:01.Grosjean and Verstappen come through in 11th and 12th places. They are

:42:02. > :42:05.both out of the places for the moment.

:42:06. > :42:11.Rosberg is focused on what he's doing, the gap between Rosberg and

:42:12. > :42:16.Hamilton is 1.4 seconds. They are matching each other for sector. I

:42:17. > :42:22.think the word he forgot there was please! Vettel is still in third

:42:23. > :42:28.place and going quickly. This is how Maldonado got past Felipe Massa. --

:42:29. > :42:32.Felipe Nasr. Pretty straightforward. Felipe Nasr goes defensive. In the

:42:33. > :42:37.end the door is wide open and Maldonado does a good job stopping

:42:38. > :42:41.the car. He's got that five seconds add additional time to be added. No

:42:42. > :42:46.damage to his car from the contact with Eriksen earlier.

:42:47. > :42:56.In theory it should mean that where he is is exactly where he is. The

:42:57. > :42:59.error data looks fine, no problems. Hamilton worried about the possible

:43:00. > :43:08.floor damage but he has just been told everything is OK. Verstappen

:43:09. > :43:17.will find a way past the Sauber, in 12th place. Felipe Nasr has done to

:43:18. > :43:23.pit stops and these guys have all done three. Important results if it

:43:24. > :43:32.can get Grosjean in that points. The Manor Marussia car keeping out of

:43:33. > :43:35.the way. There will be a good boost for Will Stevens because it has been

:43:36. > :43:41.a while since he has beaten neither team-mate, Rossi all Roberto Merhi.

:43:42. > :43:46.It looked to me like he was trying to get and overspeed at the top of

:43:47. > :43:53.the hill. I think Felipe Nasr was wise to that. Big lock-up ahead of

:43:54. > :43:58.them, going to have a look at the inside! Oh! That was so nearly

:43:59. > :44:02.contact. I think he might have clipped the rear tyre of Felipe

:44:03. > :44:09.Nasr. We know how susceptible these Pirellis are the punctures. Amazing

:44:10. > :44:14.that he got away with it. Felipe Nasr overtook into the final chicane

:44:15. > :44:19.at Spa and they didn't give enough room to each other, but that

:44:20. > :44:20.at Spa and they didn't give enough a chance now because he is

:44:21. > :44:25.at Spa and they didn't give enough the main straight. Going to go up

:44:26. > :44:32.the outside again. He did this to Perez early on. He knows how to make

:44:33. > :44:37.it a stick, and he's through. Give that boy a biscuit! Fantastic, two

:44:38. > :44:40.it a stick, and he's through. Give opportunities taken. Grosjean on the

:44:41. > :44:45.outside of Maldonado and in the end it is fairly straightforward as

:44:46. > :44:48.Romain Grosjean gets past Maldonado. Everyone's got to make their way but

:44:49. > :44:52.it's almost a shame that Verstappen is in a mid-grid car next year,

:44:53. > :44:56.imagine what he could do at the front. Absolutely, it would be

:44:57. > :45:04.fascinating to see him in a frontrunning car, wouldn't it. Is

:45:05. > :45:10.there just the smallest amount of contact? I think he just clipped his

:45:11. > :45:13.rear tyre. This great pass, he knew exactly what he needed to do. Just

:45:14. > :45:22.hits the throttle and accelerates and Felipe Nasr gives him the space.

:45:23. > :45:29.He gets through... Does he? Perez is going to come back at him once

:45:30. > :45:37.again. Does he have enough momentum? DRS wide open. Holding the inside

:45:38. > :45:42.line into Turn 4, Perez forced out wide. Not the traction he needs and

:45:43. > :45:45.Ricciardo has made the move. Here comes Verstappen trying to find a

:45:46. > :45:51.way past the Lotus. Well positioned by Maldonado, making it difficult.

:45:52. > :45:55.We've seen people locked up and run into the car. I wondered whether we

:45:56. > :46:00.would see it again. Maldonado in trouble with the tyres. Getting

:46:01. > :46:07.those options to work for him. They have a shorter life, he's all over

:46:08. > :46:15.the back of Maldonado. Look how slow he is to 11. Looking to be tidy on

:46:16. > :46:19.his drive through 12. They've had a big race together in Austria earlier

:46:20. > :46:23.this year. Maldonado had one of the saves of the year when he caught him

:46:24. > :46:28.at one stage towards the first corner. Now it is Verstappen's turn

:46:29. > :46:32.to return the favour. He has a slipstream here, here comes Max

:46:33. > :46:36.Verstappen, he's going to go for it on the inside into Turn 1. Maldonado

:46:37. > :46:41.will try to fight it, but he's not got the grip and Verstappen moves

:46:42. > :46:45.into 10th place to claim a point for Toro Rosso and take a point away

:46:46. > :46:53.from Lotus. Which is crucial. Six points is the difference between

:46:54. > :46:57.Lotus and Toro Rosso. Grosjean will score two at the moment if it stays

:46:58. > :47:03.where it is, which would even it out. Meanwhile upfront, as we see a

:47:04. > :47:09.replay of this pass, Maldonado defends not -- decides not to

:47:10. > :47:16.defend. Hamilton looks like he has thrown in the towel. The gap is 5.3

:47:17. > :47:19.seconds to Rosberg. It has been qualifying that determined this

:47:20. > :47:23.race, qualifying at the start because Rosberg nails the start from

:47:24. > :47:29.pole position. There he is on his final lap, the gap 6.7 seconds

:47:30. > :47:35.between himself and Lewis Hamilton. He is heading towards victory. The

:47:36. > :47:42.numbers game isn't going to come Hamilton's way, we wondered whether

:47:43. > :47:47.he would take his 44th victory and Mercedes's

:47:48. > :47:47.he would take his 44th victory and It won't happen, Nico Rosberg will

:47:48. > :47:52.prevent that. He is on It won't happen, Nico Rosberg will

:47:53. > :47:57.take his fifth win of this 2015 season and he's just gone the last

:47:58. > :48:09.part of the second lap complete. Gretchen Accra of the lap to

:48:10. > :48:15.complete. -- the lap to complete. He controlled the pace of the race.

:48:16. > :48:17.Nico Rosberg wins in Brazil. Back-to-back victories at the

:48:18. > :48:21.Interlagos circuit. For only the second time in his career,

:48:22. > :48:30.back-to-back victories in a season having won Mexico last time out.

:48:31. > :48:33.Sebastian Vettel into third place and 14 seconds behind the race

:48:34. > :48:40.leader, only six behind Hamilton in the end, strong performance from the

:48:41. > :48:43.Ferrari team. Fourth place will go to the other Ferrari of Kimi

:48:44. > :48:48.Raikkonen. Somewhat further back, fifth place will go to Bottas,

:48:49. > :48:56.Hulkenberg taking six. Creat finishes seventh, Massa in eighth.

:48:57. > :49:03.TEAM RADIO: yeah, guys, or some. Gretchen Accra or some. Williams

:49:04. > :49:15.driving, struck 13 when you can. Or some drive, Nico, well done. --

:49:16. > :49:18.awesome drive. A pretty select group of drivers to have won on two

:49:19. > :49:23.locations here at Interlagos. Nico Rosberg received the trophy for

:49:24. > :49:29.victory once again, this Interlagos circuit proving to be a favourite

:49:30. > :49:35.for him. By such tiny margins. He won it in qualifying, then didn't

:49:36. > :49:36.put a foot wrong in the race itself. Despite everything Hamilton threw at

:49:37. > :49:45.him, he couldn't quite get through. As the stewards still deliberate the

:49:46. > :49:46.Williams situation, this is the provisional result for the race

:49:47. > :50:01.today. At the moment Felipe Massa is in

:50:02. > :50:06.eighth place. So the Drivers' Championship looks like this. The

:50:07. > :50:13.first three places consolidated in the 2015 championship. Bottas and

:50:14. > :50:17.Raikkonen so close, one point between the two fins. The

:50:18. > :50:22.Constructors' Championship top five places have all been consolidated

:50:23. > :50:26.today. Force India is fifth and Williams celebrating their third

:50:27. > :50:28.spot. Not changed by the result from the stewards. Let's hear from the

:50:29. > :50:34.top three. Congratulations, you won,

:50:35. > :50:38.consolidated second in the championship, you must be pleased,

:50:39. > :50:41.another strong weekend for you. For sure, happy, happy to get pole

:50:42. > :50:46.position and win the race in such a manner. The quicker Saturday and

:50:47. > :50:54.Sunday, finishing the race seven seconds in front was awesome. It's

:50:55. > :51:00.going well at the moment a bit late unfortunately, very late, but better

:51:01. > :51:03.late than never I guess. Anyway, the side-effect is that finishing second

:51:04. > :51:07.is good in the championship, better than third, even though my target is

:51:08. > :51:11.not second. It's important to finish the season on a high looking at next

:51:12. > :51:15.year. How easy is it for you to pinpoint what the changes have been?

:51:16. > :51:19.Do you understand what the difference is at this stage of the

:51:20. > :51:24.season from earlier? I worked very hard at it because it annoyed me,

:51:25. > :51:30.like anything, to finish second to Lewis. I'm driving faster now as a

:51:31. > :51:35.result, the hard work seems to have paid off. What is the hard work you

:51:36. > :51:39.do? Working at it, trying to understand because last year I was

:51:40. > :51:41.quicker in qualifying, then this year I'm slow in qualifying, there

:51:42. > :51:47.has to be a reason. It's digging into it, trying to improve all the

:51:48. > :51:53.bits and pieces possible and putting it all together. It's not just about

:51:54. > :51:56.racing, strategy comes into it. It stops everything. Nico drove a

:51:57. > :51:59.fantastic race at the end of the day, no doubt about it, he did a

:52:00. > :52:04.fantastic job. He's been doing a fantastic job in qualifying. Of

:52:05. > :52:11.course, I have to make sure I think in my mind about the progress of the

:52:12. > :52:13.season, how things have changed. As I said in the press conference,

:52:14. > :52:22.Singapore, there have been changes to the car. Which seems to have

:52:23. > :52:27.shifted the direction. I need to find out why that is. And how I can

:52:28. > :52:31.get back on it. Otherwise I felt really good today, I was racing,

:52:32. > :52:38.pushing like crazy, I had nothing left. Unfortunately these tyres

:52:39. > :52:46.don't allow you to erase all the way to the end. People watching the

:52:47. > :52:50.racing, you can't see the air around us, if only you could you would see

:52:51. > :52:54.the dirty air I'm getting, the closer I get to Nico. He would have

:52:55. > :53:02.clear air. I lose downforce and damage my tyres more. I was looking

:53:03. > :53:06.for any kind of options, if it was three stop, four stop, I would have

:53:07. > :53:11.taken a risk of some sort, but the priority of the team is to get 1-2

:53:12. > :53:13.and do the same thing. For us we were trying to put them under

:53:14. > :53:18.pressure, trying something different with strategy, I don't think it was

:53:19. > :53:22.a bad call, I think it was the right thing to do, we had nothing to lose

:53:23. > :53:26.and in the end the placement was strong, lots of laps we were the

:53:27. > :53:28.same pace, even quicker. Unfortunately the level too many

:53:29. > :53:35.laps where we were slower, which is why they were able to pull away. The

:53:36. > :53:38.gap was still there but it was a lot smaller than previous races. In

:53:39. > :53:41.terms of what you thought heading into the Grand Prix, what the

:53:42. > :53:48.progress as strong as you thought? You always say you are stronger on

:53:49. > :53:52.Sunday. I think we were, six tenths, around half a second yesterday. It

:53:53. > :53:57.wasn't half as I can do in the race, easy to do the maths. You end up 30

:53:58. > :54:06.seconds behind, we were only 12 behind, so it's more like one or two

:54:07. > :54:12.tenths per lap. Overall, the pace of the race was strong and I think the

:54:13. > :54:15.main comparison you should make is where we were at the beginning of

:54:16. > :54:19.the year on average and where we are now. Already in Mexico things are

:54:20. > :54:25.looking good. We didn't manage to see the chequered flag. The place we

:54:26. > :54:29.probably should have. The pace was there, so here we are able to

:54:30. > :54:33.confirm and it's a good feeling to be a lot closer. Still, if you are

:54:34. > :54:41.behind, it's never the place you want to be. First of all, top marks

:54:42. > :54:44.to Nico Rosberg today, a confident and consider drive under what must

:54:45. > :54:48.have been a lot of pressure from Lewis. He's been building himself

:54:49. > :54:51.stuck to this. We were in amazement, what was happening to him as the

:54:52. > :54:54.beginning of the season and for the last couple of races, certainly in

:54:55. > :55:04.qualifying recently, he's been sensational. Interesting he can't

:55:05. > :55:06.put his finger on it, Lewis said the car changing direction in Singapore,

:55:07. > :55:13.the weights going a different way, fascinating. All kinds of

:55:14. > :55:17.permutations. People talking about tyre temperatures and pressures

:55:18. > :55:21.sitting Nico better than Lewis. I'm not sure if that, I think it's

:55:22. > :55:26.psychological, Nico is in a better space at the moment, recently become

:55:27. > :55:29.a father, much more relaxed, he now believes, he's got his Mojo back. He

:55:30. > :55:35.thinks he can take Lewis on. We heard what she said about next year,

:55:36. > :55:38.he's very hopeful and optimistic. It's very exciting and thrilling

:55:39. > :55:44.when you see overtakes like Max Verstappen today. He belies logic.

:55:45. > :55:48.No one in their right mind would take on those moves, but he has such

:55:49. > :55:54.an air of confidence. What I love about him, it's not frantic, he has

:55:55. > :55:57.it planned in his head, maybe three laps before because he's been

:55:58. > :56:03.watching the car before him, when he said it moved away from him, he

:56:04. > :56:10.planned his move absolutely. Magic. It really was, magic for Force

:56:11. > :56:15.India, Williams, they are happy, consolidating their third and fifth

:56:16. > :56:19.in the constructors. It's a very important and macro expensive sport,

:56:20. > :56:21.if you don't have the right resources, income, technical

:56:22. > :56:28.brilliance inside the team, associated people, you are lost.

:56:29. > :56:32.This helps them plan the future. We heard what Claire said, money comes

:56:33. > :56:36.into a pot, nothing gets spent unless it makes the car go quicker.

:56:37. > :56:41.Then the other things are taken into consideration. The future looks

:56:42. > :56:46.bright if the money is spent in the right direction. One more race to

:56:47. > :56:47.go, we'll be live for every session bringing you qualifying and race

:56:48. > :56:57.action. Don't forget, it's a twilight race,

:56:58. > :57:02.which makes it so exciting. Today it was Nico Rosberg who was conducting

:57:03. > :57:09.the Formula 1 orchestra. We have to say, what a Suite two he made. One

:57:10. > :57:13.race to go, this was the Brazilian Grand Prix. Next stop, Abu Dhabi. --

:57:14. > :57:27.what a sweet June. A webby go, Rosberg versus Hamilton,

:57:28. > :57:32.Hamilton moves to the outside, going wheel-to-wheel, then decides against

:57:33. > :57:38.it. Tasty little battle. Hamilton suddenly caught Rosberg. Here comes

:57:39. > :57:42.Verstappen trying to go around the outside into Turn 1. Just enough

:57:43. > :57:47.space and he's through, he's done it again. Verstappen has the mark of a

:57:48. > :57:51.champion. Contact, Maldonado and Ericsson. Verstappen moves into 10th

:57:52. > :58:02.place. Nico Rosberg wins in Brazil. Ericsson. Verstappen moves into 10th

:58:03. > :58:07.Yeah, guys, awesome! Next time on Formula 1, Abu Dhabi.

:58:08. > :58:10.and she was actually knocking seven bells out of him,

:58:11. > :58:13.MAN: Why would I be scared of people seeing me like this?

:58:14. > :58:17.People can see me laugh, they should be able to see me cry.
