:01:09. > :01:15.When I was in the race I got a great start. Hamilton may have the chance

:01:16. > :01:18.to go on the inside. Hamilton certainly worked that to his

:01:19. > :01:24.advantage of actual forward and backwards, forwards and backwards,

:01:25. > :01:27.for a moment it looked unlikely. Then I was behind him after the

:01:28. > :01:33.safety car and I was like, I know I've got this. Then you see things

:01:34. > :01:37.like what happened when I was behind. I was looking forward to

:01:38. > :01:47.it, excited, and it made it a lot easier for me when I came past. He

:01:48. > :01:51.has made a mistake. He was driving pretty well, people think I am not

:01:52. > :01:56.being pushed, he is driving really well. I look at his laps and think,

:01:57. > :02:01.he has come a long way because it go karting he had no chance. Hamilton

:02:02. > :02:06.is where he needs to be to win the championship. It is like a

:02:07. > :02:12.countdown, eight laps, seven laps, six laps. I was thinking, you are

:02:13. > :02:17.almost there. Lewis Hamilton has won is third World Championship, the

:02:18. > :02:22.2015 world champion. With all the things that have gone, all the

:02:23. > :02:26.years, the ups and downs, moving team and everyone's negative

:02:27. > :02:30.comments on that and see how it has evolved... I guess just a bundle of

:02:31. > :02:35.things come together. It made it the best day.

:02:36. > :02:39.It is the greatest moment of my life. Thank you guys so much. I am

:02:40. > :02:44.so grateful. To win like that, it was not a pole

:02:45. > :02:49.to the end or I had to finish this, I just happened to finish fifth

:02:50. > :02:53.because I passed him at the last corner. It felt strong, it felt

:02:54. > :03:00.amazing. There has been no doubt this year that Lewis Hamilton has

:03:01. > :03:05.dominated 2015. This has been a pretty amazing year for me, it has

:03:06. > :03:09.been the busiest, I don't think I have been as consistent before as I

:03:10. > :03:15.have this year. But now, as you can see, I can do all these other things

:03:16. > :03:19.and drive well. We said he was relaxed throughout this championship

:03:20. > :03:25.campaign, but you can just see now that real release of emotion. If it

:03:26. > :03:30.does happen, so be it, but I'm going to be around for awhile. If I put in

:03:31. > :03:35.the work and we do as a team, put in work, hopefully there will be more

:03:36. > :03:39.successful years. The man who seemingly has it all, triple world

:03:40. > :03:43.champion Lewis Hamilton. It is race day. Hello and welcome to the

:03:44. > :03:46.Mexican Grand Prix and from one world champion to another, just

:03:47. > :03:50.linking those classes of his head. Nigel Mansell, lovely to see you.

:03:51. > :03:58.Good morning, wonderful here in Mexico. Beautiful at the moment.

:03:59. > :04:03.Lewis Hamilton, how long can this purple patch continued EU think West

:04:04. > :04:07.at as long as the team support is there and Lewis keeps his focus. He

:04:08. > :04:10.is driving brilliantly at the moment. To defend a World

:04:11. > :04:14.Championship better than the manner he won get the first time and the

:04:15. > :04:19.third time world champion, is on a high like there is no tomorrow. Nico

:04:20. > :04:23.did a great job yesterday, pole position. We have a great race here.

:04:24. > :04:29.Where do you stand on how good Lewis is? It is impossible to compare

:04:30. > :04:34.eras. It is impossible to compare, but at this point in time he is

:04:35. > :04:41.right up there. And for me he is a legend already. You would have liked

:04:42. > :04:44.to have race him? Absolutely, I keep saying I want to be his team-mate

:04:45. > :04:51.next year and be on the podium. Let's look at the domination Lewis

:04:52. > :04:57.has commanded. 76 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel, who currently

:04:58. > :05:01.holds second place. Ultimate control for Mercedes in the Constructors'

:05:02. > :05:07.Championship who got the title in Russia. 200 points ahead of Ferrari.

:05:08. > :05:13.Nigel, we are in Mexico you were the last man to win around here in 1992.

:05:14. > :05:18.Great atmosphere this weekend, was it the same back then? Fantastic. I

:05:19. > :05:22.think David agrees, what they have done with the circuit, the

:05:23. > :05:27.improvements... The fans and all the marshals, it is electrifying. For me

:05:28. > :05:33.personally being back here 23 years later, winning the last race here,

:05:34. > :05:36.the overtake with Gerhardt. It doesn't get much better. And winning

:05:37. > :05:43.the championship in 92. They have renamed that corner Mansour corner.

:05:44. > :05:48.We have the images when you found your way round the outside. It is

:05:49. > :05:54.amazing. I will share this as well. I'm thinking about and I thought, oh

:05:55. > :06:02.well, let's give it a go! In for a penny, in for a pound. But the great

:06:03. > :06:06.thing is, the first car round the last Templar curb will win the race.

:06:07. > :06:10.Let's look at the track, that was back in the 90s and this is how it

:06:11. > :06:16.looks now. Set in this sprawling metropolis. There have been a few

:06:17. > :06:20.changes, do you think for the better? They had to change because

:06:21. > :06:24.of modern safety standards. This is what we have, a fantastic facility.

:06:25. > :06:27.As Nigel said it was a great atmosphere when he raced, it is a

:06:28. > :06:35.great atmosphere to have Formula 1 in Mexico City. They really know how

:06:36. > :06:39.to party here. Gridlocked in the traffic for two hours and they are

:06:40. > :06:42.partying out there. We had some oncoming down the motorway last

:06:43. > :06:49.night on a 3 wheeler selling things at 40 mph down the hill. A bit like

:06:50. > :06:51.being back in Birmingham! Nigel has already given away who is in pole

:06:52. > :06:56.position but let's check on the rest of qualifying.

:06:57. > :07:00.Even before arriving in Mexico McLaren knew they would be starting

:07:01. > :07:03.from the back of the grid after accumulating a raft of penalties.

:07:04. > :07:07.Jenson Button didn't even make it out for the first session of

:07:08. > :07:12.qualifying, while Fernando Alonso could not progress past it. After an

:07:13. > :07:16.impressively quick engine and gear change by Ferrari, Kimi Raikkonen

:07:17. > :07:21.got out on track but was suffering from brake issues and had a spin so

:07:22. > :07:24.he parked it. Red Bull's optimism was cautious heading to the circuit

:07:25. > :07:28.with its long straights but they have been stronger this weekend.

:07:29. > :07:33.They got both cars in front of the Williams. Kvyat author and Riccardo

:07:34. > :07:37.one place behind. Lewis Hamilton kept putting down early markers for

:07:38. > :07:42.pole position but every time Nico Rosberg was able to go even quicker.

:07:43. > :07:50.He out-qualified Lewis by almost two tenths. Mercedes set an all-time

:07:51. > :07:56.record for the front row starts, getting their 13th of 2015. Vettel

:07:57. > :08:04.was third and just two tenths of Hamilton. Daniel Kvyat with his best

:08:05. > :08:07.start. Match rushed up and had another strong performance and

:08:08. > :08:13.starts in eighth. Both Force Indias reached qualifying three for the

:08:14. > :08:21.third race running, Perez out-qualifying Hulkenberg. Sainz

:08:22. > :08:28.11th. Pastor Maldonado in car 13 is 13th on the grid. Rossi

:08:29. > :08:35.out-qualified Stevens. Fernando Alonso is 18th after his 15 place

:08:36. > :08:39.grid penalty. Kimi Raikkonen takes a 30 Five Place penalty for a gearbox

:08:40. > :08:46.and engine change, but nothing in comparison to Jenson Button, who

:08:47. > :08:53.takes a record 70 place grid penalty but starts at the back.

:08:54. > :08:58.We are at the incredible stadium section, 27,000 people will be here

:08:59. > :09:01.when the race starts just in this part alone. The cars will come here

:09:02. > :09:06.for the podium, it will be incredible? A break from tradition,

:09:07. > :09:10.normally the podium is above the pit lane. An inspired choice. We believe

:09:11. > :09:14.Nigel Mansell will be there to present the winners. It will be an

:09:15. > :09:19.amazing atmosphere. It really is, goose bumps already. Back to

:09:20. > :09:23.qualifying, Nico Rosberg, his 20th pole position and an enviable

:09:24. > :09:28.record, more pole positions than any other driver who has not won the

:09:29. > :09:32.title. Can he convert it today? He can convert it to winning but the

:09:33. > :09:36.championship will have to wait until next year. I have a feeling he is

:09:37. > :09:40.going to break the trend. The trend has been Lewis qualifying second and

:09:41. > :09:45.going on to win but I think the nature of this racetrack, if we can

:09:46. > :09:50.get a clean start into Turn 1, he will have the all-important choice

:09:51. > :09:55.of when to stop. And any has a clean run at the front. If he can't do it

:09:56. > :10:00.here, then I think the poor boy is going to cry all the way to Brazil.

:10:01. > :10:04.The key point here for the race, getting into Turn 1 first, a good

:10:05. > :10:15.start, but what else will be the factors? Getting to Turn 1 and being

:10:16. > :10:21.on the clean side of the track. That is a Kieran Low. Tyres, we know they

:10:22. > :10:26.can do one stop but two stops can be fast. You can gain enough lap time

:10:27. > :10:29.to push on a fresh set of tyres. Because the grid is quite close on

:10:30. > :10:35.this track you do not find the clean areas to drop into, so I expect most

:10:36. > :10:39.people to go for one-stop. Varies the weather. Glorious sunshine right

:10:40. > :10:42.now but it can change at the flick of a coin and there are

:10:43. > :10:45.thunderstorms in the area 's. A brilliant point, I completely

:10:46. > :10:50.forgot. At one o'clock we are forecast to have some storms. We saw

:10:51. > :10:54.some rain in qualifying, not enough to affect lap times. Will it play a

:10:55. > :11:00.part? I hope not. We don't want to see these fans getting wet. I don't

:11:01. > :11:04.know. More on tyres now. The difference in lap time between the

:11:05. > :11:07.tyre compounds this weekend is 1.5 seconds per lap and that will

:11:08. > :11:10.encourage the drivers to stick with the soft tyre for as long as

:11:11. > :11:15.possible because it is so much faster. But there is one big unknown

:11:16. > :11:19.and it is this, the asphalt. It was only laid two weeks ago I normally

:11:20. > :11:23.need three months to stabilise and lose its oily texture. Without the

:11:24. > :11:26.opportunity to do that we know it will be slippery and grip levels

:11:27. > :11:30.will ramp up dramatically during the course of the race. By how much that

:11:31. > :11:36.happens will affect tyre degradation. Thank you. Everybody

:11:37. > :11:41.getting ready here on the grid and much anticipation about this race.

:11:42. > :11:46.More than 100,000 fans here to watch this spectacle. When Sergio Perez

:11:47. > :11:51.took to the track for the drivers parade, this place erupted! The

:11:52. > :11:58.stadium section reached fever pitch as he lifted the flag to greet his

:11:59. > :12:05.fans. These two on the front of the grid, the longest of the season, 800

:12:06. > :12:11.metres. They will be standing on the brakes at 200 mph. David and Ben in

:12:12. > :12:34.the commentary box. Formula 1 is back in Mexico. Take a deep breath!

:12:35. > :12:40.COMMENTATOR: The formation lap about to get underway and Formula 1 is to

:12:41. > :12:46.get one of its loudest receptions anywhere in the world from the

:12:47. > :12:50.packed grandstands in Mexico. Nico Rosberg leads away, Lewis Hamilton

:12:51. > :12:55.joining them on the front row for the 13th time this year. They are

:12:56. > :13:00.setting down to that long run to Turn 1 to get a feel of the cars.

:13:01. > :13:03.The first area of packed grandstands, and it is just a

:13:04. > :13:08.brilliant atmosphere that we have got. What kind of race is this track

:13:09. > :13:11.going to deliver? That is a question. Hamilton already has

:13:12. > :13:15.wrapped up the championship. Vettel still only just ahead of Rosberg in

:13:16. > :13:19.the point. Watch out for the Ferrari, it has been looking good in

:13:20. > :13:25.terms of race pace. Looking at the grid I wonder if all the cars got

:13:26. > :13:31.away cleanly or not. Just on the exit of the final corner. They do

:13:32. > :13:35.appear to be registered. This will be interesting. The track

:13:36. > :13:39.temperature more than 20 degrees warmer than in free practice stop

:13:40. > :13:43.not the same pressure to warm the tyres. They have a good handle of

:13:44. > :13:47.understanding what the relatively low degradation on the tyres is

:13:48. > :13:51.like. We will a fairly slow rotten to the grid, I would suspect. Again,

:13:52. > :13:56.Rosberg will not be wanting to sit there for too long. Monitoring and

:13:57. > :14:01.maintaining engine temperatures will be key this afternoon. Tom, what is

:14:02. > :14:05.it like in the pits at the moment? Chaos down here, people running

:14:06. > :14:11.everywhere. The richest man in the world is just walking past me.

:14:12. > :14:16.Opposite me in the grandstands they are chanting the name of Checo

:14:17. > :14:21.Perez. It is unlike anything I have experienced in Formula 1. Into the

:14:22. > :14:24.final stadium which has been used for music concerts and baseball and

:14:25. > :14:28.also being used for motor racing. That is where the podium will be for

:14:29. > :14:32.whoever comes out on top in this race later on. What a reception they

:14:33. > :14:36.are getting now and what a reception they will get, the top three, when

:14:37. > :14:43.they emerge. A long way to go, 71 laps. What was summed up in that TV

:14:44. > :14:46.image there, presumably a Mexican fan waving a Mexican flag but

:14:47. > :14:51.wearing a Vettel Ferrari T-shirt. That is what I love about fans of

:14:52. > :14:56.motorsport, they are not just nationalistic but support all the

:14:57. > :15:02.teams. It adds to the welcome we are getting in Mexico. Rosberg starting

:15:03. > :15:11.on pole, Hamilton alongside. Massa and Verstappen. Perez starting mind.

:15:12. > :15:16.Hulkenberg 10th. Watch out from the back the likes of Raikkonen, Alonso

:15:17. > :15:20.and Jenson Button. Three world champions in the last three places

:15:21. > :15:25.of the grid. Contrary to what I, Rosberg got to his grid position

:15:26. > :15:29.very early. Jenson Button won't keep him waiting too long. Last few cars

:15:30. > :15:33.moving into position. Jenson Button is the final car. He has been there

:15:34. > :15:36.several times this year already. Nico Rosberg has been on pole

:15:37. > :15:41.position for the last three events and has failed to win a single one.

:15:42. > :16:49.Can he beat the new three-time champion?

:16:50. > :16:58.Nico Rosberg ahead of Hamilton, chased by Kvyat and in the distance,

:16:59. > :17:01.Ricciardo. This is crucial for Rosberg, he has clean air and can

:17:02. > :17:05.control the race. He will no Hamilton will be under pressure to

:17:06. > :17:11.managers and bridges. He will have to drop back. Maldonado and Grosjean

:17:12. > :17:15.side-by-side. They were like that into the corner. Very close between

:17:16. > :17:23.the two Lotus drivers, just outside the top ten at the moment.

:17:24. > :17:35.OK, retire the car, retire the car. Loss of power for Alonso, no change

:17:36. > :17:38.of front at the moment. Perez has survived the opening lap and is in

:17:39. > :17:46.eighth position. Hulkenberg is in ninth. Vettel has just made it into

:17:47. > :17:50.the pits, losing his braking performance. We have heard Alonso is

:17:51. > :17:54.retiring the car, the first retirement this afternoon. Vettel

:17:55. > :17:59.not getting away, I think he was being blocked by a Alonso.

:18:00. > :18:04.Compounding the difficulty he will have this afternoon. We hope to stay

:18:05. > :18:08.with this into the road to Turn 1. I think it was before the term that

:18:09. > :18:13.contact was made with Daniel Ricciardo, the proposition man got

:18:14. > :18:19.away more cleanly but not as big a threat to the others. Vettel lost

:18:20. > :18:23.out initially into the first corner. Let us watch the action as they

:18:24. > :18:29.bunched up. I expected some contact. Vettel just closing the door. The

:18:30. > :18:33.contact was made, to me that looks like a racing incident, it will be

:18:34. > :18:38.interesting to see what the stewards say, there was enough of Daniel's

:18:39. > :18:42.car alongside to suggest that Sebastian would know he was there

:18:43. > :18:47.but Lewis gets himself into the slipstream, no DRS but you can see

:18:48. > :18:52.the effect of running in the slipstream. Not enough momentum to

:18:53. > :18:58.carry him round. Nicely judged by Rosberg. Let us see how it was for

:18:59. > :19:02.Ricciardo. He will lose out to Daniel and already there was almost

:19:03. > :19:06.contact. Sebastian gets into the slipstream and close to the outside.

:19:07. > :19:09.Daniel is thinking he will follow the inside line and he does, you see

:19:10. > :19:14.the door close and he comes from quite a long way back. I do not

:19:15. > :19:19.think there was any malice in that but the stewards have to go one way,

:19:20. > :19:23.you will always favour the car in front of course, as on the road, if

:19:24. > :19:27.you pile into someone from behind on unless they rammed the brakes on

:19:28. > :19:32.randomly then you are responsible. We will wait and see. Wheel-to-wheel

:19:33. > :19:36.action and it continued and I think Massa runs a bit wide, pushing out

:19:37. > :19:42.onto the kerb and that allows bot asked to come back to him. This is

:19:43. > :19:46.where Vettel gets into some difficulty in four, five, six,

:19:47. > :19:51.everyone bunching up behind him. That was on board with Perez, trying

:19:52. > :19:57.to stay out of trouble. Great driving from both drivers, giving

:19:58. > :20:03.each other enough space. It is pretty early, you would think this

:20:04. > :20:08.might push Bottas into a two-stop race. They have got the opportunity

:20:09. > :20:16.to keep an eye on Vettel and see what he is doing on the medium tyre

:20:17. > :20:21.but that might make it two stops. I think they looked at the lap time

:20:22. > :20:29.for Vettel, only two tenths slower and has the benefit of running in

:20:30. > :20:33.fresh air. That is the risk I think for Williams in making such an early

:20:34. > :20:39.stop. You could find yourself running another ten to 15 laps

:20:40. > :20:43.behind other cars who are doing a later one-stop and you could lose

:20:44. > :20:49.time in that traffic. This is interesting, the Saubers together,

:20:50. > :21:04.and they tangled in the race, which is the nightmare for any team. Pace

:21:05. > :21:07.is good, how is the tyre? All on the undercut. Perez notably good at

:21:08. > :21:13.looking after his tyres but he is struggling with them a little bit.

:21:14. > :21:19.This was Bottas's pit stop. Comes off a rip-off, which looked to hang

:21:20. > :21:24.on his finger for a moment. A little bit slow but otherwise that looked a

:21:25. > :21:29.reasonable stop. With the higher temperatures here, because of the

:21:30. > :21:36.less dense air, could wheels going on and off the more of a problem

:21:37. > :21:41.here? That is a great shot, taking a bit longer with the wheel gun for

:21:42. > :21:46.that one. We saw him drop away from Carlos Sainz, will we see this

:21:47. > :21:51.converted into a two-stop race for a number of cars, these high track

:21:52. > :21:55.temperatures, 54 degrees, working the tyre is harder than they

:21:56. > :21:59.expected. The pit stop delta is showing 21 seconds right now,

:22:00. > :22:03.quicker than what the teams were predicting. The benefit of that is

:22:04. > :22:10.it makes it less of a penalty to do an extra stop, when you have a long

:22:11. > :22:17.pit lane time, that forces you to take less stops. We saw a retirement

:22:18. > :22:22.almost before the race got underway and unfortunately it was Alonso. Won

:22:23. > :22:27.what was the problem? Yesterday night we had a problem. This

:22:28. > :22:33.morning, we looked at it, we had possibilities, retire the car or

:22:34. > :22:37.start the race and try our maximum and know that one that was the

:22:38. > :22:42.maximum we could achieve, we did one lap for respect of the fans because

:22:43. > :22:46.they have been amazing all weekend and we will try to improve next

:22:47. > :22:51.time. I cannot think of a season where you have done so few laps,

:22:52. > :22:57.getting frustrating? It has been a frustrating season obviously. Even

:22:58. > :23:02.to be able to participate in this race with this amazing crowd, even

:23:03. > :23:07.if you are last, at least you are on the track. It is very hard but at

:23:08. > :23:12.the moment we are not doing a good job. He said earlier it was the most

:23:13. > :23:16.enjoyable drivers parade lap he had ever experienced. This was the move

:23:17. > :23:19.made by Sebastian Vettel a moment ago and that was all very

:23:20. > :23:26.straightforward. A bit of fighting back going on but in the end he made

:23:27. > :23:29.the move stick. Carlos Sainz in the Toro Rosso on fresh tyres but the

:23:30. > :23:36.momentum with Vettel who is well on his way to getting points. He is

:23:37. > :23:41.only four seconds behind 10th place Hulkenberg and at this rate he will

:23:42. > :23:46.eat into that quickly. Hamilton has just set the fastest lap now, not by

:23:47. > :23:52.a big margin but still, nonetheless a quick lap on that occasion. Quite

:23:53. > :23:56.a crucial manoeuvre where they get past Carlos Sainz at this point.

:23:57. > :24:03.Shows the Ferrari has good pace and we see that from Raikkonen as well

:24:04. > :24:06.as he closes up to Sergio Perez. He was the first person in the race to

:24:07. > :24:12.start on the harder compound tyre. How long will Jenson Button be able

:24:13. > :24:17.to fend off the Ferrari? Not long I think, sadly, he is running in 11th

:24:18. > :24:21.place. This is fourth position so it is not as if he would have the move

:24:22. > :24:26.out of the way but you would expect the Ferrari to get past promptly.

:24:27. > :24:33.Carlos Sainz will also be looking to do likewise. OK, we can reduce the

:24:34. > :24:38.brakes slightly, two or three tenths of the lap time would help us with

:24:39. > :24:44.Daniil Kvyat, he could be very close to us. Break saving, how does the

:24:45. > :24:49.driver go about that? Just to push the brake pedal as hard for so

:24:50. > :24:52.long, normally you are heavy at the start of a Grand Prix and you have

:24:53. > :24:58.more energy being accelerated and the celebrated around the track but

:24:59. > :25:03.because of the slower time, the breaking pace is less, we are

:25:04. > :25:08.lifting and coasting, we do not expect them to be fuel limited this

:25:09. > :25:15.afternoon so there will not be as much of that as at other Grand Prix

:25:16. > :25:18.but they will lift off the throttle for a predetermined time to wait

:25:19. > :25:28.before they apply the brakes pressure. That takes out some of the

:25:29. > :25:32.heat and energy as we see Vettel performing a straightforward pass,

:25:33. > :25:37.did not really need the DRS against the McLaren but he gets it, science

:25:38. > :25:42.trying to follow through as well. Sebastian Vettel moving up to 11th

:25:43. > :25:47.place. Sainz will now try and do the same thing, riding on board with the

:25:48. > :25:50.Spaniard as he tries to find a way past Jenson Button. Who is obviously

:25:51. > :25:54.struggling for straight line speed at the end of straights but now we

:25:55. > :25:58.are into the tight twiddly sections, the McLaren has been showing a good

:25:59. > :26:03.turn of pace through the complexes and Alonso said yesterday he was

:26:04. > :26:11.proud of the pace in the car in sectors two and three. Credit where

:26:12. > :26:18.it is due, one of the longest phases, Vettel has spun. He has only

:26:19. > :26:23.just got past the McLaren and he has lost places. That is the medium

:26:24. > :26:28.section of the lap just as you go through seven or was it ten? I think

:26:29. > :26:33.that was at turn seven, he had just done the fastest first sector

:26:34. > :26:38.benefiting from the slipstream and DRS, who was next man up, it was

:26:39. > :26:44.Hulkenberg but too much of a gap so just a mistake. He just threw it off

:26:45. > :26:48.the road effectively. Drivers has said it is a low grip surface but

:26:49. > :26:54.that shows it is tricky. Up into seven, turns in, the momentum sees

:26:55. > :26:58.him lose the rear of the car, I suspect he will have flat spotted

:26:59. > :27:03.those tyres as well. Any chance of doing a long one-stop race are now

:27:04. > :27:08.in difficulty. Sainz has got past button now, that was an important

:27:09. > :27:13.manoeuvre for him. Vettel is going again in 15th position but has lost

:27:14. > :27:16.several valuable places. An uncharacteristic mistake from the

:27:17. > :27:20.four-time world champion has dropped him further down the order again

:27:21. > :27:25.after a lot of hard work has been done. Raikkonen going around in

:27:26. > :27:29.seventh place in the other Ferrari. You lie it is wide open, you can see

:27:30. > :27:34.the rear wing open like a letterbox, Jenson Button does not make it much

:27:35. > :27:39.difficult, not much he can do on such a long straight. And again,

:27:40. > :27:44.this is the replay of Vettel, he runs off the circuit as well and is

:27:45. > :27:49.on top of that curve as he comes into the stadium, the problem of

:27:50. > :27:54.going off the track is you get a lot of dirt on your tyres, unusual to

:27:55. > :28:00.see two mistakes and the local hero Perez is making for the pits. From

:28:01. > :28:04.sixth place and they are trying to do this on one stop. They have got

:28:05. > :28:09.to Lap 18, 19 for the leaders and the way he goes. He should be able

:28:10. > :28:15.to get to the end if the tyre wear forecasts are correct on these sets

:28:16. > :28:19.of tyres. Just in front of Sainz and you can see if the camera angle

:28:20. > :28:24.picks it up, a lot of momentum and he has to get the pass into Turn 1.

:28:25. > :28:28.A crucial manoeuvre because they were dicing before the pit stops, it

:28:29. > :28:34.could not have been much closer to that as they had out of the pit lane

:28:35. > :28:38.but Carlos Sainz, crucial he got in front of the Mercedes powered Force

:28:39. > :28:43.India. The Force India slow to react to Carlos Sainz making the stop,

:28:44. > :28:49.delivering his best lap of the Grand Prix, you call it the undercut,

:28:50. > :28:52.making the early stop. Tom, do you think Force India are wary of

:28:53. > :28:58.getting to the end on this set of tyres? I think he lost a crucial one

:28:59. > :29:02.or two seconds there because they change the front wing flap angle

:29:03. > :29:09.after all the tyres had been put on so he's with stationary longer than

:29:10. > :29:13.needed to be. On board with Sergio Perez, still chasing Sainz after

:29:14. > :29:17.that pit stop, they have been close on the track for much of the race so

:29:18. > :29:23.far and he has a little bit of a slipstream here. Goes past the

:29:24. > :29:26.packed grandstand, the brand-new grandstands around this area of the

:29:27. > :29:31.circuit. They will be urging their man on, Sergio Perez, to see if he

:29:32. > :29:39.can take this place but at the moment he is in 11th.

:29:40. > :29:45.Kvyat is in the pits. They put the medium compound tyres on and he will

:29:46. > :29:49.plan to make it all the way to the end of the Grand Prix. A few people

:29:50. > :29:56.we know are likely to be making two stops. Lets see where he comes out,

:29:57. > :29:59.Verstappen goes ahead of him. We are still waiting for Verstappen to make

:30:00. > :30:03.his pit stop. Comes out ahead of Kimi Raikkonen, but Raikkonen has

:30:04. > :30:07.one pit stop to go himself will stop and Raikkonen back in the way with

:30:08. > :30:13.Valtteri Bottas. We remember what happened to them in Russia. A bit of

:30:14. > :30:24.a score to settle here. Bottas felt, fairly I think, that Raikkonen was

:30:25. > :30:29.unrepentant. In the DRS on. Here he comes round the outside, a little

:30:30. > :30:34.lock-up, they almost touch. Bottas as the line. They hit, they hit!

:30:35. > :30:39.Raikkonen of this time. Raikkonen goes out and that is his suspension.

:30:40. > :30:43.That's what you would call payback. Interesting to see if the stewards

:30:44. > :30:48.have anything to say on that. He had positioned himself nicely on the

:30:49. > :31:02.outside. Kimi Raikkonen ran as far wide as he could. Team radio. RADIO:

:31:03. > :31:06.I think the rear right is damaged. Dave Greenwood just informing.

:31:07. > :31:11.Sometimes it is hard to tell how much damage is done to the car, but

:31:12. > :31:15.that is clearly all done. A little bit of a continuation of what

:31:16. > :31:19.happened in Russia, when it was Raikkonen who made the last-gasp

:31:20. > :31:24.attempt to overtake for the podium finish and knocked Bottas out of the

:31:25. > :31:28.race. Bottas did not want to give way this time. Even if Bottas has

:31:29. > :31:31.damaged his car, I will tell you Frank Williams is a racer and he

:31:32. > :31:36.would rather see his guy have a go, get stuck in and not give up.

:31:37. > :31:42.Absolutely at the limit. Got his car fairly alongside, Kimi knows he is

:31:43. > :31:52.there. Tries to shut the door, Bottas... Well, I've got to say that

:31:53. > :31:55.the. Interesting. Kimi got a penalty added in Sochi. If they look at that

:31:56. > :32:00.they may well say what happened there could happen here. I think

:32:01. > :32:04.Bottas was their league alongside. You can't expect, if you have sight

:32:05. > :32:09.of the car alongside you, you cannot expect him to disappear. The

:32:10. > :32:21.incident with Raikkonen in Sochi, he came from a long way back. Bottas

:32:22. > :32:24.spot front wheel was at the apex. Bottas is still running around in

:32:25. > :32:30.sixth place. There is no evidence, looking at his lap times right now,

:32:31. > :32:32.that he has damaged on the car. What I was saying about Frank Williams,

:32:33. > :32:40.he loves that sort of attacking drive. RADIO: OK with the car?

:32:41. > :32:46.Pressures look good. He just cut you up and gave you no space.

:32:47. > :32:53.Copy that, no space inside. Copy that. Busily talking for the benefit

:32:54. > :32:56.of the race director. It is under consideration. We will see what the

:32:57. > :33:02.decision is on this one. We are coming up to one third distance will

:33:03. > :33:08.stop this is Maldonado on Button before we saw Vettel go past. Down

:33:09. > :33:13.into Turn 1. Jenson Button not giving it up at all, tries to run it

:33:14. > :33:19.round the outside, but in the end a nice pass. Maldonado kept it

:33:20. > :33:23.sensible and nailed it down into turn two. Into the pits comes Daniel

:33:24. > :33:28.Ricciardo. We will see where it puts him. Kvyat will go through, I'm

:33:29. > :33:32.sure, still ahead of him. Let's wait and see. Still expecting Mercedes to

:33:33. > :33:37.make their pit stops relatively soon. Kvyat will be flashing past, I

:33:38. > :33:43.think he already has done. Yes, Bottas and then Massa just behind

:33:44. > :33:46.him. Daniil Kvyat will come and find them. Verstappen in fourth is still

:33:47. > :33:52.running but his times are not there, 25.2. The team leaving him out there

:33:53. > :33:57.so long and clearly running more than a second off the pace. RADIO:

:33:58. > :34:05.Nico, not long, start pushing hard now. Rosberg will be in soon.

:34:06. > :34:08.Although Ricciardo has come out behind the two Williams, they

:34:09. > :34:14.stopped early and are likely, not definite, to have to make a second

:34:15. > :34:18.stop. It depends on the tyre life of these tyres. Vettel has done more

:34:19. > :34:24.than anybody yet he tries to close up once again Maldonado. Vettel

:34:25. > :34:29.already has done some 23 laps on these tyres and trying to go to the

:34:30. > :34:39.end. I doubt it will be possible. RADIO: Box, box, box. Push hard,

:34:40. > :34:44.brakes are in reasonable condition. We will see Rosberg first in. As

:34:45. > :34:48.ever the leader of the two Mercedes gets first call on the pit stop.

:34:49. > :34:52.That is one of the great shames of Formula 1. When you have two guys

:34:53. > :34:56.battling wheel-to-wheel, it maintains the advantage was that

:34:57. > :35:01.Verstappen heads for the pits. They are in danger of losing to Perez, a

:35:02. > :35:04.late stop for them. Rosberg and Hamilton will have to push one more

:35:05. > :35:09.lap. Rosberg with fresh tyres will be able to get maximum attack on the

:35:10. > :35:14.engine and keep that gap. Watch out for Sainz and Perez as they go down

:35:15. > :35:20.the straight. I didn't Verstappen will come out just ahead of them.

:35:21. > :35:31.Yes, Verstappen has got out in head -- ahead of Sainz and Perez. The

:35:32. > :35:35.brakes... You see it all the time but Verstappen has lost out slightly

:35:36. > :35:38.to Hulkenberg. He was fighting fresh air and losing lap time. All it has

:35:39. > :35:45.done is allowed Sainz to get a little closer. The race leader

:35:46. > :35:48.Rosberg is in. Another beautiful stop from the Mercedes crew, who

:35:49. > :35:52.consistently deliver in the pits as well as they do in terms of a car

:35:53. > :35:58.that is faster than anybody else's. Rosberg heading on his way. Hamilton

:35:59. > :36:01.now will be trying his utmost to set his fastest lap of the race so far,

:36:02. > :36:06.but I don't think he has the tyres to be able to do that. Mercedes very

:36:07. > :36:22.much on a one-stop strategy. Rosberg on to do that. Mercedes very much on

:36:23. > :36:24.a one-stop strategy. Rosberg onto the are preheated but he has to

:36:25. > :36:26.bring them in. Interestingly no further action in the Raikkonen and

:36:27. > :36:29.Bottas incident, seen as a racing incident. I would concur with that.

:36:30. > :36:32.I think there was enough of Bottas' car alongside Raikkonen, could not

:36:33. > :36:35.claim he did not know he was there. The overhead cameras, they will

:36:36. > :36:42.analyse. The rear axle locked up. The man doesn't have to move. Prime

:36:43. > :36:48.tyres till the end. New prime tyres to the end. The medium tyre. You can

:36:49. > :36:51.see the ten centimetre markers, they analyse all the data afterwards and

:36:52. > :36:57.they can see whether the driver was long and it caused an issue or if

:36:58. > :37:04.there were any individual issues. Hamilton stayed out a bit longer.

:37:05. > :37:08.Vettel down the side of Maldonado. Maldonado may be able to get him

:37:09. > :37:12.back, I think he has. Vettel slithering slightly out of control

:37:13. > :37:16.and losing out as a result. I'm surprised Hamilton stayed out

:37:17. > :37:21.because Hamilton just popped in the fastest Middlesex. This may be a

:37:22. > :37:24.strategic play where he wants with his engineer to have fresher tyres

:37:25. > :37:30.than Rosberg at the end of the Grand Prix. -- fastest middle sector. I

:37:31. > :37:35.think he has no choice but to come in this lap, cannot afford to start

:37:36. > :37:41.losing time. And crucially the temperatures will be affected

:37:42. > :37:48.running in traffic. Box, box, box. Nico faster on the prime. Slightly

:37:49. > :37:52.fresher tyres by two laps, it might help at the end. How cool are these

:37:53. > :37:58.guys question what they know they have to deliver a 2 second pit stop

:37:59. > :38:02.but it shows their professionalism and confidence. Hamilton through the

:38:03. > :38:08.S'. Traffic just ahead. They are reacting to bringing in this lap.

:38:09. > :38:16.This fantastic stadium. Just missed the apex slightly. It is quite a

:38:17. > :38:21.tricky entry to the pit lane as they pass under the grandstand. The fans

:38:22. > :38:28.shouting for Checo. Have to take a tight line. No big heroics from

:38:29. > :38:35.Hamilton. You can tell he is playing for longer game here. Tidy and

:38:36. > :38:40.controlled stop, that is what you call tidy customer service as they

:38:41. > :38:45.sent out in 2.4 seconds. Remarkable. Lewis Hamilton has made his stop

:38:46. > :38:49.from second place but he will be behind Nico Rosberg when he emerges

:38:50. > :38:54.from the pits. A very similar pit stop, maybe a 10th faster for

:38:55. > :38:59.Hamilton. There is Rosberg, still in control of this race at this point.

:39:00. > :39:04.Carlos Sainz still fends off Sergio Perez for the moment. Verstappen

:39:05. > :39:08.just ahead of them. You would think the Force India might have the edge

:39:09. > :39:14.in terms of straight-line speed. A mistake from Sainz. He rejoins but

:39:15. > :39:19.surely he will have to give the place up. No question. Not a great

:39:20. > :39:23.moment for him to make a mistake. Never a great time to stop we have

:39:24. > :39:28.seen Vettel, the four time champion, do it. He is under the spotlight as

:39:29. > :39:31.to his performance. He is doing a great job at Toro Rosso but

:39:32. > :39:35.Verstappen has taken the main headlines. I think it is inevitable

:39:36. > :39:40.he will have to give that place back from gaining an advantage. Meanwhile

:39:41. > :39:50.Rosberg upfront as responded, four tenths quicker than Hamilton. We saw

:39:51. > :39:57.him cut the track. What a lovely place to let him through in front of

:39:58. > :40:03.all of the fans. A bit of a stage show from Perez. If he gets a good

:40:04. > :40:07.drive off here, let's just watches rear wing. Did he get his timing

:40:08. > :40:12.right? He might be able to come back. Good spatial awareness from

:40:13. > :40:17.the young Spaniard. He is going to have a go but not quite close

:40:18. > :40:20.enough. Perez in front of Sainz. That is what it was about, less

:40:21. > :40:24.about the showmanship and more about being in the right place to pick up

:40:25. > :40:32.the DRS. It was clever but unfortunately it came after a

:40:33. > :40:37.mistake. He has the DRS again. Perez could imply a bit more battery

:40:38. > :40:40.energy in those areas. Good straight-line speed from the

:40:41. > :40:44.Mercedes. He hasn't got so much energy now in the battery to use

:40:45. > :40:49.around the remainder of the lap forced up the rear lights flashing

:40:50. > :40:54.on the car, showing they are no longer deploying a electrical

:40:55. > :40:59.energy. Carlos' light flashed. That element of the recoverable energy is

:41:00. > :41:05.used to defend and attack. Justine Marie Black, runs it wide and

:41:06. > :41:16.crucially crosses the DRS activation line. -- just seeing the replay. The

:41:17. > :41:20.fans loved it. That was the response as he overtook in the key section.

:41:21. > :41:25.He has managed to hold onto that place. That puts him into ninth

:41:26. > :41:32.place now, going after Verstappen. In comes Vettel. Yeah, no choice but

:41:33. > :41:37.to take that second stop. He complained earlier of a slight flat

:41:38. > :41:40.spot from that spin at turn seven. He will be more than capable of

:41:41. > :41:46.going to the end of the Grand Prix. Another set of primes. Yes, should

:41:47. > :41:50.be able to get to the end of the race and be an good tyres for the

:41:51. > :42:00.remainder but a long way down the field. Yes, not often you see a

:42:01. > :42:09.Ferrari getting lapped. He will pop out behind Rosberg and in front of

:42:10. > :42:12.Hamilton. Some of those drivers took an early pit stop are having to

:42:13. > :42:16.think about making another one around this time which is pretty

:42:17. > :42:19.much what you would expect at this point in the race. Hulkenberg has

:42:20. > :42:23.been on the radio with the team. They have been discussing if he

:42:24. > :42:31.should becoming in. He was one to make an early pit stop, as did the

:42:32. > :42:35.two Williams'. He did 30 laps on his medium tyre. But we will see if that

:42:36. > :42:38.makes any difference to the guys who are looking at making a second pit

:42:39. > :42:46.stop. We can listen to Vettel's radio. I am quicker than him. Let

:42:47. > :42:50.him buy otherwise we get a penalty. That was awake going to be a bit

:42:51. > :42:54.tricky, Vettel ahead of Hamilton. Already had a couple of blue flags

:42:55. > :42:59.and has to move out of the way if you are given the blue flag. Vettel

:43:00. > :43:01.does so cleanly and he will no doubt try to stay pretty much within the

:43:02. > :43:08.slipstream of Lewis Hamilton as they continue. Carlos Sainz coming into

:43:09. > :43:12.the pits. This going for a second pit stop for Carlos Sainz, not going

:43:13. > :43:16.to the end of the Grand Prix. Putting on the option, the soft

:43:17. > :43:22.tyre. Let's see where this brings him back out. Justine the leader go

:43:23. > :43:28.through, so lapped by the two Mercedes, the Toro Rosso, a little

:43:29. > :43:32.bit of a downer. He comes out behind Sebastian Vettel. They were fighting

:43:33. > :43:36.earlier on a little bit. Carlos Sainz now well have to make the most

:43:37. > :43:41.of these tyres, which should be much quicker than most of the cars around

:43:42. > :43:44.him. Interesting to see how he delivers a lap time in direct

:43:45. > :43:51.comparison with Verstappen on the older tyre. Rosberg has responded to

:43:52. > :43:56.Hamilton's fastest lap by setting one of his own. Hamilton lights up

:43:57. > :44:00.the first sector. It is a question of both Mercedes drivers pushing

:44:01. > :44:07.hard. We are hoping that something is going to happen. Right now it has

:44:08. > :44:15.been a fairly uneventful Grand Prix. Gap to Lewis... Don't tell me any

:44:16. > :44:21.more, don't me any more! Used to Nico saying I don't want to hear any

:44:22. > :44:25.more. He stays out of his ears and Rosberg is absolutely focused on

:44:26. > :44:33.maintaining this gap. We often hear that. I know the voice of the driver

:44:34. > :44:39.can tell us a little bit of what is going on in their head. Leave me

:44:40. > :44:45.alone, let me get on with it. You can see visibly where Hamilton is.

:44:46. > :44:49.The gap to .9 seconds. Interesting, because normally the relationship

:44:50. > :44:53.with the engineer is one of the closest relationships that you have

:44:54. > :44:56.within the team. You know, believe and trust he will do everything in

:44:57. > :45:01.his power to make sure you have the best in your car, the best strategy.

:45:02. > :45:05.If they are not fighting for every element of performance within the

:45:06. > :45:11.team, then you wouldn't have them on your car. It is unusual to be short

:45:12. > :45:15.and slightly aggressive, if you like, with that person. In many ways

:45:16. > :45:19.within the relationship that is a person looking after you the most.

:45:20. > :45:23.Another little lock-up for Carlos Sainz, got out of it pretty quickly

:45:24. > :45:27.but does not want to mess up these tyres so early on in his second

:45:28. > :45:32.stint on them. Needs to protect them a little. Hamilton still chasing

:45:33. > :45:35.down Rosberg, but has he got an answer here? We saw Nico Rosberg

:45:36. > :45:39.lead the Grand Prix in Russia but we never really got to find out if he

:45:40. > :45:51.had the pace to stay ahead of Hamilton because he had a broken

:45:52. > :45:54.throttle pedal, which put him out of the Grand Prix. But on this occasion

:45:55. > :45:55.at the moment Rosberg seems to be doing everything necessary.

:45:56. > :46:01.Concentration absolutely total. This was a lock-up a moment ago. That is

:46:02. > :46:05.where he went off the circuit. Nico Rosberg on for another set of tyres.

:46:06. > :46:09.Presumably Mercedes will do this with both cars. They may have felt

:46:10. > :46:12.they wouldn't have got to the end of the Grand Prix without another

:46:13. > :46:13.change of tyres. The gap they have is more than enough to be able to

:46:14. > :46:30.make that stop. We are going to convert to plan B.

:46:31. > :46:34.Let us know if you need a front adjust. Lewis Hamilton is now

:46:35. > :46:39.leading the Grand Prix but he will be coming in at any moment and

:46:40. > :46:43.switching onto another set of tyres. Nico Rosberg has gone back out on

:46:44. > :46:47.the medium compound, any difference in strategies between the cars,

:46:48. > :46:52.would they put him on the yellow option tyres? That is his call and

:46:53. > :46:57.he demands it of his team and they believe it is safe to do so then

:46:58. > :47:00.they will let him do it. But it is a fairly late call for him so I think

:47:01. > :47:04.he will be relying on the information he has been given an

:47:05. > :47:10.trust he will get the best tyres much for the team, it makes sense to

:47:11. > :47:14.have the same set of tyres to avoid any controversy. Carlos Sainz did

:47:15. > :47:19.put on the soft compound a little while ago but it is likely Mercedes

:47:20. > :47:23.will do the same for both, if he does stay out and does not come in

:47:24. > :47:27.at all, he has a chance of winning this race, if he thinks he can go to

:47:28. > :47:32.the end, they are waiting for him and he is not coming in, is it his

:47:33. > :47:37.call? Wouldn't it be fantastic if it was bastion mark the team were out

:47:38. > :47:43.and they now have to go and wrap those tyres, they are still out in

:47:44. > :47:50.the pit lane waiting. But why not, let us listen to the radio. Can I

:47:51. > :47:55.ask why? We are worried about tyre wear, those tyres are down to the

:47:56. > :48:02.canvas. It is for safety reasons, box this lap. And he didn't so Lewis

:48:03. > :48:08.Hamilton has taken strategy under control within the car here. His pit

:48:09. > :48:13.crew are still out on the pit lane, they have wrapped the tyres, if he

:48:14. > :48:16.does get falls to come in, I think that is misinformation they are

:48:17. > :48:21.saying they are down to the canvas, they said earlier, 10%, why would

:48:22. > :48:30.they have more wear than the previous set? You need to check his

:48:31. > :48:35.tyres, my tyres are good. We are down to zero on the first set, we

:48:36. > :48:41.will be down to zero if not worse, box at the end of this lap,

:48:42. > :48:46.instruction. He is coming in, he argued his case but in the end he

:48:47. > :48:51.has responded to the team. Full respect for using the opportunity to

:48:52. > :48:55.say look at his tyres but this will be interesting. We have to trust the

:48:56. > :48:59.engineered to give him the right information, those tyres will be a

:49:00. > :49:08.bit cooler having sat in the pit lane and the team waiting for over a

:49:09. > :49:11.lap. Rosberg will have gone through, just passing the start and finish

:49:12. > :49:15.line. Hamilton will set chase, a fantastic little twist of team

:49:16. > :49:19.conversation and you can be sure that Lewis Hamilton will want to see

:49:20. > :49:25.his tyre wear after the race. Please check those tyres. He wants it now,

:49:26. > :49:31.he is not waiting until after the race, he is saying "tell me where

:49:32. > :49:35.those tyres are because they felt good. " It is up to the driver and

:49:36. > :49:39.the team but if the team felt he would be in danger then it was

:49:40. > :49:44.important to bring him in. We still have a situation where Rosberg leads

:49:45. > :49:49.this race. Hamilton has just come out of the pits and they are both on

:49:50. > :49:54.a new set of tyres, the same type of compound, medium compound so it is a

:49:55. > :50:00.pure race to the flag in the final part of this race. Felipe Massa is

:50:01. > :50:05.in fifth and at the moment, Bottas and Massa are the same set of tyres

:50:06. > :50:09.they had on Lap 8 and nine. One radio broadcast we have not heard

:50:10. > :50:13.but we can read here, Hamilton saying that he thinks it is the

:50:14. > :50:19.wrong call. But the team gave an instruction that he must box on that

:50:20. > :50:25.lap. He said he thought it was the wrong call but would come in. Very

:50:26. > :50:33.interesting situation, Rosberg has just gone fastest of all, a 1:21.3.

:50:34. > :50:36.When a team mentions a safety in any message, you are playing with a

:50:37. > :50:40.driver 's mind so they have to back that up now and that is why I think

:50:41. > :50:44.it will be fascinating if the information comes on the tyres. He

:50:45. > :50:48.clearly feels he had a bit of life there but in the end, you win

:50:49. > :50:54.together, lose together, if you trust your team and see some passing

:50:55. > :51:00.action here. Daniel Ricciardo is catching Felipe Massa on fresh tyres

:51:01. > :51:10.then the Williams. It gives him a chance but Massa is second on the

:51:11. > :51:14.speed trap at 365 K PH, 225 mph. It is tough for Ricciardo even though

:51:15. > :51:19.he has better rubber but there might be other areas he can make the move,

:51:20. > :51:24.down to Turn 4, he makes a look at it but decides against it. He knows

:51:25. > :51:28.they have better place in the tighter and twisty sections. But

:51:29. > :51:32.there is a huge difference between those cars, putting caution to the

:51:33. > :51:36.wind in terms of temperatures, trying to find a way through. Look

:51:37. > :51:40.at the difference in acceleration between the Renault hybrid and the

:51:41. > :51:45.Mercedes. You can see the Williams pulling away as he goes to turn

:51:46. > :51:50.seven. Hamilton purple and purple in the second sector, he has the bit

:51:51. > :51:54.between his teeth. He is fired up now, Ricciardo will need one of

:51:55. > :52:00.these tighter sections to get past the Williams and the Williams has

:52:01. > :52:04.tyres that 15 laps older, same compound but 15 laps of the, he has

:52:05. > :52:11.to be struggling in terms of putting the power down. Watch the last

:52:12. > :52:18.corner here. Taking a tighter line, as close as he has been, he will get

:52:19. > :52:23.DRS but will it be enough? Mercedes power against Renault power unit and

:52:24. > :52:27.he is catching on the DRS zone, he is going through the lunch on the

:52:28. > :52:31.brakes down to Turn 1, side-by-side, Williams against Red Bull, Ricciardo

:52:32. > :52:35.makes the move, a crucial manoeuvre and up into fourth place, where he

:52:36. > :52:42.was earlier in this grand pre-, some way behind Daniil Kvyat but Red Bull

:52:43. > :52:44.ahead of Williams again. Allen a fantastically executed overtake from

:52:45. > :52:50.some distance back, professional driving from both guys but Daniel

:52:51. > :52:55.Ricciardo once more showing his skills. Meanwhile, a pass on Perez

:52:56. > :52:59.getting ahead of Verstappen which has caused a big cheer in the

:53:00. > :53:04.background. Sergio Perez moving into eighth place. Verstappen able to

:53:05. > :53:10.pick up the benefit of DRS, benched over the top of that curb and he

:53:11. > :53:16.leaves the gap but he will have DRS on Perez, was he able to come back

:53:17. > :53:21.at him at all? The fans loving that. Lewis Hamilton has just done another

:53:22. > :53:25.fastest lap, four tenths faster than his team-mate but the gap is still

:53:26. > :53:29.three seconds, a lot of work to do full Lewis Hamilton but a very quick

:53:30. > :53:34.lap indeed and they are really pushing on. You can see the second

:53:35. > :53:38.silver arrow, the three-time world champion once this race win in

:53:39. > :53:43.Mexico but for the moment, Nico Rosberg doing everything he can to

:53:44. > :53:47.soak up that pressure and so far not making any mistakes. Faultless so

:53:48. > :53:54.far, we have not seen a lock-up or any missing of the apex. Vettel in

:53:55. > :53:59.the barrier. He has crashed out of the Ferrari. Turn seven again it

:54:00. > :54:05.looks like. The fast flowing section. Safety car will presumably

:54:06. > :54:10.come out. Hit has not been announced but there we go, it is coming out

:54:11. > :54:14.now. That will bring all the cars together and close them up and that

:54:15. > :54:24.will be fascinating to see what happens on the restart. OK, I

:54:25. > :54:33.crashed. Again, turn seven, yeah. Are you OK? I am OK, sorry. A tough

:54:34. > :54:35.day for Sebastian Vettel. A really low key performance, an

:54:36. > :54:39.uncharacteristic performance from him and too many mistakes. Three

:54:40. > :54:45.mistakes, I do not member the last time I saw him do that. Any issues

:54:46. > :54:49.with the rear stability of the car going into those corners, he has

:54:50. > :54:53.been trying to work and manage it and work his way back to the points

:54:54. > :54:58.but a step too far. Interesting that Carlos Sainz made a pit stop because

:54:59. > :55:03.he was on a relatively fresh set of tyres but they felt they were in a

:55:04. > :55:08.gap and not losing any time by making the stop. With the safety

:55:09. > :55:12.car, a full safety car as opposed to virtual. Daniil Kvyat in the pits,

:55:13. > :55:16.Ericsson as well. Daniil Kvyat making the pit stop, Ricciardo, oath

:55:17. > :55:22.Red Bull cars going for this pit stop to get a fresh set of tyres to

:55:23. > :55:31.have a go at the end. Massa getting a chance to neutralise the loss of

:55:32. > :55:36.tyre life. Bottas has not come in, you will be under a lot of pressure.

:55:37. > :55:40.But they have gained a position in the pit lane, Daniel Ricciardo still

:55:41. > :55:45.in front of Massa. Stopping Hulkenberg but Perez has stayed out,

:55:46. > :55:48.different strategy for Force India, depending on where you were on track

:55:49. > :55:53.and whether you could come in without losing a position or two.

:55:54. > :55:59.Hulkenberg has taken advantage, Verstappen has come in and so has

:56:00. > :56:05.Grosjean. Aye no need for that for the Mercedes, it sets up at -- sets

:56:06. > :56:09.us up for a fantastic restart. They handled it well in the last race in

:56:10. > :56:14.Austin so it might be difficult for Hamilton to do anything off the

:56:15. > :56:19.restart with note DRS available but he will be on the back of the

:56:20. > :56:25.gearbox. Williams trying to do a lot of laps on a set of tyres but Bottas

:56:26. > :56:28.will drop back several places down the order, the car of Sebastian

:56:29. > :56:34.Vettel being hoisted out of the way. A replay of what happened. This time

:56:35. > :56:40.he locked up on the way into the turn, it looked to straighten

:56:41. > :56:48.initially and then spun round. Did we lose any places? We would lose to

:56:49. > :56:53.Verstappen and maybe Grosjean. The trouble is they did stop and they

:56:54. > :56:58.will be an fresh tyres so I think this will be a difficult last sector

:56:59. > :57:01.of the race for Perez. We are about to go racing here in Mexico once

:57:02. > :57:08.again. Rico Rosberg takes control of the race as the safety car is about

:57:09. > :57:12.to head into the pit lane and we have a fantastic final sector of

:57:13. > :57:16.this race to come. He has got Hamilton right behind him and has to

:57:17. > :57:19.choose the moment at which to go. In the stadium section, here we go,

:57:20. > :57:24.watching them through the last corner and it could be difficult to

:57:25. > :57:28.get the power down. Rosberg with the advantage, Hamilton looking for a

:57:29. > :57:32.good exit out of the corner, a demanding corner to come out of,

:57:33. > :57:36.Rosberg crosses the line, no DRS on the restart but watch out for the

:57:37. > :57:40.Williams of Bottas in fourth place, he is lining up Daniil Kvyat, I

:57:41. > :57:43.think he will get third. He is already there as Hamilton goes on to

:57:44. > :57:49.the attack, onto the breaks into Turn 1, Rosberg ahead, ten two in

:57:50. > :57:55.third place, Red Bull have lost out there. The Toro Rosso going wide.

:57:56. > :57:59.Deep into the corner, Sainz, and Rosberg is still in front of

:58:00. > :58:02.Hamilton. Bottas taking full advantage at the restart, Red Bull

:58:03. > :58:08.have been pushed back to fourth and fifth with Massa chasing after them

:58:09. > :58:12.and Hulkenberg and Perez could come under threat from those around them

:58:13. > :58:16.with fresh tyres. On the call of the safety car coming in, the effect of

:58:17. > :58:21.that was Rosberg had to budge the field up in the last sector and took

:58:22. > :58:25.advantage fantastically of the cleaning up through turn 16 and

:58:26. > :58:30.Hamilton not able to do anything. He will have the wait for DRS to open

:58:31. > :58:34.up to get the speed advantage in a straight line. Rosberg managing this

:58:35. > :58:40.race every time a question has been asked, he has answered. Rosberg not

:58:41. > :58:44.getting away by a huge amount, Bottas has gained from all of this,

:58:45. > :58:48.he made a later pit stop under the safety car but it has worked well

:58:49. > :58:53.for the Williams team. Massa is also to be watched because he could close

:58:54. > :58:57.up to Ricciardo but right now he is under threat from Force India, which

:58:58. > :59:05.also made a pit stop, that is Nico Hulkenberg. Now it has gone a fully

:59:06. > :59:10.bonanza has gone off in the stadium section. -- Felipe Nasr. Looking for

:59:11. > :59:16.a place to park the car, he is looking to drive it. Rosberg has

:59:17. > :59:21.made a mistake. He has gone off the circuit, questionable as to whether

:59:22. > :59:25.he gains an advantage. How far behind was Hamilton. He went off

:59:26. > :59:32.going into the stadium so that is why he was 1.5 seconds behind. In

:59:33. > :59:36.his quest to stay less than a second behind for DRS, they are pushing but

:59:37. > :59:40.it seems a little bit of an advantage for Rosberg at the moment.

:59:41. > :59:45.There has been a trend, when Rosberg has led grand bree, he has done it

:59:46. > :59:53.well, Monza, Austin last an ad where he made mistakes but... Both Red

:59:54. > :59:57.Bull cars are vulnerable. Massa is right now protecting his position

:59:58. > :00:01.from the Force India, both Red Bull cars are right but the other

:00:02. > :00:05.Williams of Bottas in the twisty section. Daniil Kvyat targeting

:00:06. > :00:09.behind but the Williams has the better straight-line speed so

:00:10. > :00:14.difficult to do anything about it. Maybe Ricciardo can pick up a double

:00:15. > :00:19.toe, the DRS is enabled now but you can see Ricciardo is moving out of

:00:20. > :00:23.line briefly to get some cooling air into those breaks. That will be

:00:24. > :00:28.critical, the cars are now liked on fuel and the track is well Robert

:00:29. > :00:36.in. Hamilton has to get himself into the gap there, he has to get within

:00:37. > :00:41.one second or less to get the benefit of DRS, matched by Rosberg

:00:42. > :00:46.in the first sector. See what he can do in the middle. Verstappen in

:00:47. > :00:53.ninth, an relatively fresh tyres compared to Perez ahead of them.

:00:54. > :00:59.Perez is an period, he is on 41 lap tyres, he is holding everyone up. It

:01:00. > :01:02.will be tough for Perez and you wonder why Force India could not

:01:03. > :01:06.have brought him in, the local hero could end up dropping a massive

:01:07. > :01:10.number of places but let us what he can do. He is good at looking up --

:01:11. > :01:17.after his tyres but it is challenging.

:01:18. > :01:22.A mistake from Maldonado. Good reaction to keep it out of the

:01:23. > :01:28.wall. He has scored points in the last three Grand Prixs. He loves

:01:29. > :01:34.living on the edge, I think he does it for his own entertainment. It was

:01:35. > :01:38.close, how much closer could it have been? Ricciardo still protecting his

:01:39. > :01:43.position from the Williams of Valtteri Bottas. Just a quick note,

:01:44. > :01:46.in the race between Toro Rosso and Lotus, only seven points between the

:01:47. > :01:50.two teams at the moment that they will score similarly here.

:01:51. > :01:58.Verstappen is currently ninth and head of all of them. RADIO: I know

:01:59. > :02:05.it is difficult, we need to drag it, the DRS. I think he is aware of

:02:06. > :02:11.that, as much as anybody. Hamilton the fastest man of all in the middle

:02:12. > :02:17.sector. He has taken a couple of tenths out of Rosberg this time

:02:18. > :02:21.round. So far Rosberg hanging on in there, no sign of any mistakes will

:02:22. > :02:25.stop there are five laps to go. Can Rosberg Coll Donaldson victory? It

:02:26. > :02:30.has been awhile since the Austrian Grand Prix earlier this year when he

:02:31. > :02:34.had a victory. He was on a roll at that time but ever since then things

:02:35. > :02:38.have gone against him. Some of the starts weren't as good and Hamilton

:02:39. > :02:45.has been absolutely mighty in race conditions. A good lap by Hamilton,

:02:46. > :02:48.the gap back down to 1.2 seconds. It must be difficult when you see Paddy

:02:49. > :02:54.Lowe talking to his team. On one hand they just want to manage this,

:02:55. > :02:57.they want a 1-2. Rosberg has deserved to be in the position he is

:02:58. > :03:01.in today after qualifying and what he has done in the race so far. On

:03:02. > :03:08.the other hand, for someone like Paddy, that childhood fan of Formula

:03:09. > :03:11.1, seeing two cars going wheel-to-wheel, it must be hard to

:03:12. > :03:17.detach from the team responsible at Ian let their men race. Perez has

:03:18. > :03:22.done a good job, a lot of laps on these tyres and hanging in there for

:03:23. > :03:26.the moment. He has done 48 laps. The guys behind, who switched onto the

:03:27. > :03:30.soft option tyre are struggling. It makes you wonder if they will kick

:03:31. > :03:34.themselves for that. I think if they had gone for a fresh set of mediums

:03:35. > :03:40.they may have been able to put Perez under pressure. A good drive from

:03:41. > :03:45.Perez. He will not get a podium but hanging on for eighth place. Rosberg

:03:46. > :03:50.response, the fastest lap of the Grand Prix, keeping the gap at 1.4.

:03:51. > :03:55.RADIO: Ricciardo starting to struggle with his rear tyres, let's

:03:56. > :04:00.close up on him. I think he is trying that but so far not happening

:04:01. > :04:06.for him. Hulkenberg only 1.9... Lost a bit Massa on that lap. Hulkenberg

:04:07. > :04:10.in seventh. Force India looking at a decent double points score. Red

:04:11. > :04:14.Bull, who are ahead of them in the World Championship, head on the road

:04:15. > :04:18.as well. What is going on at Mercedes? Are they saying, this is

:04:19. > :04:22.it? They have some lap traffic to deal with. That might mix things up

:04:23. > :04:32.a bit. They are catching Will Stevens. In the middle sector, it is

:04:33. > :04:38.difficult to get a clean pass. Hamilton will be seizing this

:04:39. > :04:41.opportunity. Watching Bottas but Rosberg is about to get past Will

:04:42. > :04:48.Stevens. Rossi has moved out of the way. Not a problem for Rosberg.

:04:49. > :04:56.Rossi ahead of Stevens now. The safety car certainly did swap the

:04:57. > :04:59.two manner Marussia cars around,. Valtteri Bottas holding on to third

:05:00. > :05:03.place for the moment and looking to get his second podium finish of the

:05:04. > :05:07.season, when he surely should have had another one in Russia but for

:05:08. > :05:12.the incident with Kimi Raikkonen. There are the race leaders, the gap

:05:13. > :05:16.is 1.2 seconds as they cross the line. Rosberg doing enough to keep

:05:17. > :05:21.Hamilton out of DRS range. On board with Hamilton, how does this feel

:05:22. > :05:25.right now from Hamilton's point of view? On one hand you get sucked

:05:26. > :05:28.along the straights and have the advantage of the car in straight but

:05:29. > :05:33.in the corners you have a sense of not having the same kind of load.

:05:34. > :05:40.The wings create that extra weight that pushes the car into the

:05:41. > :05:43.tarmac. It is incredibly difficult. Grosjean still in 10th place but

:05:44. > :05:46.Maldonado would quite like a point to continue his point scoring run at

:05:47. > :05:52.the moment, but he is not close enough. Surely the last thing they

:05:53. > :05:56.need is to tangle these two. A couple of points for Toro Rosso from

:05:57. > :06:01.Verstappen but it will not make a huge difference in terms of the gap

:06:02. > :06:04.that exists between the two teams. Grosjean into his final few races

:06:05. > :06:09.with this Lotus team before he drives for the American team, where

:06:10. > :06:16.he will be joined by Esteban Gutierrez. Trading lap times. It

:06:17. > :06:20.seems like Hamilton might be getting that gap back a little bit to

:06:21. > :06:24.Rosberg. 1.2 last time round, he did have to pass Rossi. It looked like

:06:25. > :06:30.Hamilton ran a bit deep into the stadium, losing four tenths of a

:06:31. > :06:36.second. Rosberg has one hand on the cup. He just has to hang on in there

:06:37. > :06:40.for an little longer, Nico Rosberg, to take a victory here in Mexico.

:06:41. > :06:44.Looking down over the fans who will see the top three come to the podium

:06:45. > :06:49.in that section of track at the end of this race. Right now it looks

:06:50. > :06:53.like it will be Rosberg, Hamilton and Bottas who will be coming to

:06:54. > :06:59.waves hello in that part of the track. But let's see what happens,

:07:00. > :07:03.still a couple of laps to go. Kvyat is still in fourth ahead of

:07:04. > :07:06.Ricciardo Folsom Massa in sixth place, Hulkenberg seventh ahead of

:07:07. > :07:11.his team-mate, Sergio Perez Perez staying ahead of Verstappen and

:07:12. > :07:17.Grosjean but they are getting a bit closer. I am wondering if Perez has

:07:18. > :07:23.the tyres available to him. I think he is doing enough. Another heroic

:07:24. > :07:29.effort from him. He has done 51 laps, Sergio Perez, on these medium

:07:30. > :07:32.tyres. Can he finished the last two and still get some useful points out

:07:33. > :07:37.of this Grand Prix at home? That would still be a massive reward for

:07:38. > :07:41.him. He has had so much pressure on him this weekend but dealt with it

:07:42. > :07:46.superbly. I think he is probably going to sleep for 48 hours after

:07:47. > :07:50.this weekend. He has been working so hard on the promotional side.

:07:51. > :07:53.Lapping it up but no question that emotionally and mentally it takes a

:07:54. > :07:58.lot more out of you when it is your home race. He is a superstar here,

:07:59. > :08:04.no question of that. Back with our race leader and is looking good. On

:08:05. > :08:08.the final lap for Nico Rosberg. He started from pole position. He won

:08:09. > :08:11.the drag race down to the first corner. Put himself in front of

:08:12. > :08:16.Lewis Hamilton, and has controlled the race ever since. There was a

:08:17. > :08:20.change of strategy from the team. Hamilton almost decided to stay out

:08:21. > :08:24.there of his own accord, the team firmly made him come into the pits.

:08:25. > :08:28.We then had a safety car which seemed to open an opportunity for

:08:29. > :08:32.Lewis Hamilton but since then Rosberg has driven perfect, just one

:08:33. > :08:48.little error, but on the same lap Hamilton made a mistake as well. It

:08:49. > :08:51.has been difficult but so far Rosberg has responded in the best

:08:52. > :08:53.style he possibly could to having lost his last chance of winning the

:08:54. > :08:55.World Championship last time out in Austin. He is coming through the

:08:56. > :08:58.last little sequence of corners now. Rosberg, a brilliant drive here in

:08:59. > :09:02.Mexico. He is going to come through the last turn, Mansell Corner and

:09:03. > :09:08.Nico Rosberg takes victory in Mexico! His fourth win of when to

:09:09. > :09:11.15, his 12th career victory and beats his team-mate Lewis Hamilton,

:09:12. > :09:17.the new three times world champion by just under two seconds. We wait

:09:18. > :09:22.now, a long gap, it is Bottas who finishes in third place. Superb

:09:23. > :09:28.podium for him, after the incident with Raikkonen earlier on. Kvyat

:09:29. > :09:34.finishes fourth. Ricciardo finishes fifth, Massa six, Hulkenberg seven.

:09:35. > :09:38.Now listen to the cheer for Perez in eighth. He gets the response from

:09:39. > :09:42.the crowd. He might not have ended up on the podium but Perez has

:09:43. > :09:47.delivered a very solid race and are more laps on a set of tyres than

:09:48. > :09:51.anybody else here today. Verstappen and Grosjean picked up the final

:09:52. > :10:00.points in ninth and 10th. But Nico Rosberg has done it. He has taken

:10:01. > :10:05.victory in Mexico. Yeah! Excellent job, Nico, excellent job. It was a

:10:06. > :10:09.great response. He wasn't knocked down by the victory for Hamilton

:10:10. > :10:14.last time out and he has come through to take victory here.

:10:15. > :10:18.Rosberg wins, Hamilton and second, Bottas in third ahead of the two Red

:10:19. > :10:24.Bull cars of the Viet and Ricciardo Vaz Te top then Massa, Hulkenberg on

:10:25. > :10:30.Perez. Verstappen in the points yet again for sub Grosjean was tense,

:10:31. > :10:35.Maldonado just mixed out. Barton had a lonely run and Rossi beat his

:10:36. > :10:38.team-mate Stevens. We lost Nasr in the closing stages and three World

:10:39. > :10:42.Cup champions went out. Vettel crashed out on his own, Raikkonen as

:10:43. > :10:48.a result of an incident with Bottas and Fernando Alonso did not even

:10:49. > :10:52.make a couple of laps. Nico Rosberg has done it. A race of sheer

:10:53. > :10:57.pressure, but he managed to hold on for victory. Therein may be lies in

:10:58. > :11:00.lesson for him. He has carried over some aggressive stance and

:11:01. > :11:03.frustration from the last race in Boston, where he felt his team-mate

:11:04. > :11:07.pushed into hard at the first corner. That seems to have inspired

:11:08. > :11:12.him and every session he has been on the money. A great pole position and

:11:13. > :11:18.resisted the pressure and now presents himself to the fans. A

:11:19. > :11:22.thoroughly deserved victory. It was not easy for him. Hamilton, I am

:11:23. > :11:27.sure, we'll have a few questions for the team in terms of strategy but

:11:28. > :11:30.you have to acknowledge Nico was absolutely the pacesetter this

:11:31. > :11:35.weekend. A German driver in the German car. The Silver Arrows take

:11:36. > :11:40.yet another 1-to finish of the season. It is time to receive the

:11:41. > :11:48.trophy. The Mexican Grand Prix trophy. After a gap of 23 years

:11:49. > :11:56.there it is for Nico Rosberg. His father did race here, in that last

:11:57. > :12:01.Grand Prix. One of his last Grand Prixs, a couple before he finished

:12:02. > :12:04.his career in 1986. He didn't go on to win the race. Lewis Hamilton

:12:05. > :12:12.received the trophy for second place. The constructors trophy to

:12:13. > :12:20.hand over as well. It is a mix up as to who is it in the constructors

:12:21. > :12:23.trophy and second-place trophy. The constructors trophy for Mercedes.

:12:24. > :12:28.Valtteri Bottas picks up the award for third place here after a very

:12:29. > :12:31.solid drive. We were worried about their pit stop and a safety car, it

:12:32. > :12:35.might have been a bit later than some of the others but the team had

:12:36. > :12:43.it all sorted. He goes through to finish in third place.

:12:44. > :12:49.Celebration time here in Mexican city, to the cheers of thousands of

:12:50. > :12:58.fans in the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Stadium. Nico Rosberg

:12:59. > :13:00.soaked up the pressure to finish a commanding victory, beating his

:13:01. > :13:12.three-time champion team-mate by just under two seconds.

:13:13. > :13:19.Absolutely phenomenal scenes in the Mercedes garage. Congratulations to

:13:20. > :13:25.Nico Rosberg, a phenomenal winner today. How important was it that you

:13:26. > :13:30.owned the start, which you certainly did? Of course, the start is

:13:31. > :13:35.crucial. Getting into the first corner first is always one of the

:13:36. > :13:39.most important things. That worked out, everything worked out,

:13:40. > :13:43.qualifying, race pace, happy. It seems to me you had the bit between

:13:44. > :13:50.your teeth, back-to-back races, you were on it all weekend. I saw one

:13:51. > :13:55.mistake. Running wide at turn seven but otherwise flawless? The bit

:13:56. > :14:01.between my teeth? I tried, I have not changed my approach going

:14:02. > :14:08.forward. Just attacking and more comfortable this weekend. CHEERING

:14:09. > :14:15.The safety car restart was a little difficult. CHEERING

:14:16. > :14:18.This is on the podium as well, fantastic scenes.

:14:19. > :14:22.In terms of the restart, you are getting quite used to doing those.

:14:23. > :14:29.When you are in those situations, do you feel any extra pressure because

:14:30. > :14:33.if you mess it up that's it? The restart, no, as long as I'm able to

:14:34. > :14:37.get a good restart it is OK. This time it didn't work out so well, so

:14:38. > :14:43.I wasn't happy with the one today. Talk us through where you were here.

:14:44. > :14:47.I messed up going into the last one, went a bit wide and that cost me

:14:48. > :14:51.quite a lot but then it was OK, no problem. What is the pressure like

:14:52. > :14:55.when you know you are managing that one second window to DRS? Are you

:14:56. > :15:02.mentally backing off in the middle sector and hitting in the last

:15:03. > :15:06.sector? I always had one eye on Lewis the whole race. But any time

:15:07. > :15:09.he tried to get a bit closer I accelerated a bit more. It was all

:15:10. > :15:15.about managing the stints. I am pleased with the way the race went

:15:16. > :15:18.in that sense. And that podium. The best podium ever. Thank you to all

:15:19. > :15:21.the Mexican people, all the support they have given me is awesome, a

:15:22. > :15:25.great feeling and a special experience. Thank you very much.

:15:26. > :15:32.Time to hear from his team-mate, Lewis.

:15:33. > :15:39.Pretty good, I enjoyed it, no stress, unfortunately here, you

:15:40. > :15:44.cannot follow, it is so hard, I gave it everything I had. I think

:15:45. > :15:52.ultimately I had more pace but the closer you get, it is like a

:15:53. > :15:56.negative on a negative. There was nothing I could do. I heard you said

:15:57. > :16:00.yesterday you were fearing being stuck in the wake of a car in front.

:16:01. > :16:09.You said no stress, any stress over the pit stop then you are told to

:16:10. > :16:16.come in? Not real stress, I just did not agree with the decision, that is

:16:17. > :16:23.all. The team make decisions and I abide by them most of the time. When

:16:24. > :16:27.you said you wanted to know the feedback on the tyres, have you had

:16:28. > :16:33.that now, was it the right decision? I have not had the feedback. But

:16:34. > :16:37.then we had the safety car and then the tyres would have got cool and he

:16:38. > :16:42.would have been right on my tail with fresh tyres so it is fine but

:16:43. > :16:48.hopefully we will have a chat when we get back but I have full

:16:49. > :16:51.confidence in the guise. The world champion looking as relaxed as

:16:52. > :16:56.anyone, it was interesting he did not come in, could he have got to

:16:57. > :16:59.the end on those medium tyres? Elima Road the team have information is on

:17:00. > :17:05.tyre wear, they made the call on safety, I also expect an element of

:17:06. > :17:09.doing the safe thing here because they had an advantage over third

:17:10. > :17:14.place, he stayed out lap longer than the team would have liked. He saw an

:17:15. > :17:17.opportunity he knew Nico had pitted and we saw from Perez, he made it to

:17:18. > :17:22.the end of the Grand Prix without losing places, based on a Force

:17:23. > :17:26.India driving on those tyres, he would have been able to drive slower

:17:27. > :17:32.and save somewhere, in theory it could have been a fantastic move if

:17:33. > :17:35.he had stayed out. The safety car would have changed things. Yellow

:17:36. > :17:39.macro we know the safety car came out and it would have been bunched

:17:40. > :17:43.up again, depending on that, he might been able to pop in and change

:17:44. > :17:47.tyres and come back out in the lead. Let us look again at the start,

:17:48. > :17:53.could not get close to Nico and this is where he lost it. It would have

:17:54. > :17:57.taken Nico to make a really big mistake, we knew it would be

:17:58. > :18:02.difficult off the dirty side of the track. I expected some incidents but

:18:03. > :18:06.everyone made it, it was all clean, the only thing we saw with Daniel

:18:07. > :18:10.Ricciardo brushing Sebastian Vettel. Not a big hit but these tyres seem

:18:11. > :18:15.susceptible to punctures, rolling the side wall of the wheel but at

:18:16. > :18:23.this point Lewis knew it would be difficult. A phenomenal weekend for

:18:24. > :18:27.Mercedes, well deserved? No question about it, you had a feeling that all

:18:28. > :18:35.the frustration of Texas came to this race and he delivered. Good to

:18:36. > :18:39.see you are OK, an uncharacteristic race from you, at no point did you

:18:40. > :18:46.look overly comfortable, would you agree? I had a bad start and I do

:18:47. > :18:53.not know where Daniel wanted to go but I had a puncture. In the end,

:18:54. > :18:57.these things happen, it is racing, I wanted the safety car early on but

:18:58. > :19:00.it did not come, I tried to come back but the two mistakes I did did

:19:01. > :19:07.not help, the last one stopped the race. It was my mistake so I am not

:19:08. > :19:12.proud of it. Daniel said you just closed the door, I am sure you have

:19:13. > :19:17.a different opinion but the steward said no action taken. It is Turn 1,

:19:18. > :19:21.start of the race, closing the door, he was never really next to me and

:19:22. > :19:29.then I saw him at the last second and opened but by then it was too

:19:30. > :19:33.late. I think that is known as just one of those days, shall we relive

:19:34. > :19:39.that kiss with Daniel Ricciardo on track. I think that is the right

:19:40. > :19:45.word for the incident, he just tries to get out of it and as he corrects,

:19:46. > :19:49.he just catches the side of the tyre and that is enough for a puncture,

:19:50. > :19:53.he got away with it for awhile, it only really deflated at Turn 4.

:19:54. > :19:58.Massa locking up, Daniel trying to get out of it, do not think I think

:19:59. > :20:03.it was just a racing incident and quit frustration for Vettel. He did

:20:04. > :20:08.come round to saying that, not personal, just one of those things

:20:09. > :20:11.that happen. It set him up for a frustrating race with a multiple

:20:12. > :20:16.amount of incidents where he was going off and we are not used to

:20:17. > :20:20.seeing that. This is turn seven, just a straightforward spin, this is

:20:21. > :20:25.turn 12 at the stadium and on top of the curve, this is passing Maldonado

:20:26. > :20:29.down into Turn 1 and carries too much speed. The was on the radio to

:20:30. > :20:37.the team that he was losing the rear tyres. Finally, again at turn seven,

:20:38. > :20:41.nose first, planting it in the barriers. He was very clear with the

:20:42. > :20:46.team that it was his mistake and even multiple time world champions

:20:47. > :20:50.get it wrong sometimes. It has been slippery and that has been

:20:51. > :20:54.interesting, watching the track evolve. It got so much better as the

:20:55. > :21:00.race went on but in the end, you cant the winners and that was Nico

:21:01. > :21:09.Rosberg. A bad day for the best you and Jimmy and Ferrari in general.

:21:10. > :21:26.Tell us what happened today? I lost the wheel. That is racing, you can

:21:27. > :21:32.ask many people. To be honest, I was not really surprised. Huge

:21:33. > :21:35.congratulations to Valtteri Bottas today, it looked busy at that,

:21:36. > :21:40.plenty of battles and a hard-fought podium but did you feel you've got

:21:41. > :21:46.great support from the team? As a team we did a really good job today,

:21:47. > :21:51.every call was exactly right and the later stop was the most important

:21:52. > :21:56.one, we decided to stop obviously, I was coming in, I had no idea where I

:21:57. > :22:03.would be and the tyre wear but we did not have the right tyres so a

:22:04. > :22:06.big thanks to the team. I know Frank loves a racer and you have shown

:22:07. > :22:13.that racing spirit, you are macro we are getting used to the action with

:22:14. > :22:21.Kimi, was this payback for Russia? It is nothing personal. Anyone would

:22:22. > :22:25.have been on my side, I would have tried the same because I saw an

:22:26. > :22:31.opportunity there and there is no reason it should end up like this.

:22:32. > :22:34.In a corner like this, there is place and for two cars, especially

:22:35. > :22:40.when the car outside knows there is someone inside. It is a shame that

:22:41. > :22:44.it ended like this because it did not have too. Kimi said he was not

:22:45. > :22:51.surprised it happened, have you fallen out with each other?

:22:52. > :22:57.Relationship? Of course, we have had a chat sometimes but like I said

:22:58. > :23:04.before, it is nothing personal. I am here to race hard for every single

:23:05. > :23:08.position and I am in favour of taking completed risks, I was never

:23:09. > :23:15.going to back out in that place otherwise everyone would close the

:23:16. > :23:19.door on me. You must be impressed by the strength of the Williams car. It

:23:20. > :23:27.was quite a hit so we were lucky as well, we escaped it. A strong car

:23:28. > :23:32.and a strong team today. Was it a total fluke that it was reminiscent

:23:33. > :23:38.of Russia? No, it was nothing personal like said, just unlucky

:23:39. > :23:42.that it was me and Kimi again. Would you have an idea because it was

:23:43. > :23:46.under investigation but we could not work out if it was for the attempted

:23:47. > :23:52.pass or for Kimi closing the door, do you have any insight on that? The

:23:53. > :23:56.stewards had it under investigation, do you know if it was for causing a

:23:57. > :24:02.collision because of you being there or Kimi closing the door? That is a

:24:03. > :24:07.good question am I had the right to be there and I am sure he saw me

:24:08. > :24:11.there so as I said before, there should be space for two cars,

:24:12. > :24:16.especially when the other one knows there is one inside. I have raced

:24:17. > :24:21.quite a bit with him and we have had a lot of racing situations so that

:24:22. > :24:27.was not normal and what I was expecting. A great day for you and

:24:28. > :24:30.the team, how does it feel to be back on track? Really good, we have

:24:31. > :24:34.had bad luck lately and it feels like a reward for the hard work

:24:35. > :24:39.after all of the bad luck we have had. Really pleased with myself and

:24:40. > :24:45.for the team, we will enjoy this one. Thank you, let us check on

:24:46. > :24:47.today's results. Speedy Gonzalez Nico Rosberg but his proposition

:24:48. > :25:17.converted to a race win. Two movers in the championship, Nico

:25:18. > :25:19.Rosberg moves up to second place above Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri

:25:20. > :25:26.Bottas moves ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. A poor day for Ferrari.

:25:27. > :25:30.No movers in the Constructors' Championship, Mercedes have already

:25:31. > :25:35.won that but look at Williams in third, 71 points ahead of Red Bull,

:25:36. > :25:40.consolidating third spot. We are with the home hero, Sergio Perez, my

:25:41. > :25:44.goodness me, you made up the place from the start but what battles out

:25:45. > :25:49.there and you had to do it on the one-stop strategy, how tough was

:25:50. > :25:53.that? One of the toughest races of my career, we were unlucky with the

:25:54. > :25:58.safety car, things were looking good up to that point, we were aiming for

:25:59. > :26:04.top five or top six but then we had the safety car. We were thinking we

:26:05. > :26:08.would overtake Felipe Massa and Nico but we ended up being a few seconds

:26:09. > :26:16.away so it is something we had to go back with the team and see how we

:26:17. > :26:20.measure things but in the end, less important is the result, what I have

:26:21. > :26:23.experienced this weekend will stay with me forever. I feel for you

:26:24. > :26:28.because the pressure of expectation was not just you, the team but a

:26:29. > :26:36.whole nation, I'd do not know if you could hear the fans cheering in the

:26:37. > :26:40.stands. I could see they were getting excited but I was focused on

:26:41. > :26:47.the race. It was one of the hardest races in my career but it went so

:26:48. > :26:54.quickly, when I got out of the car, you are exhausted, but today, it was
