:00:29. > :00:36.Hello and welcome to the West Coast at the Wentworth Club committee in

:00:37. > :00:41.the heart of story. It has been a glorious first two days of

:00:42. > :00:46.competition but today, the wind has picked up and it will be a little

:00:47. > :00:49.bit more tricky around this sometimes treacherous course, a golf

:00:50. > :00:56.course that has undergone somewhat of a makeover this last year. An

:00:57. > :00:59.extensive multi-million pound renovation programmes started

:01:00. > :01:02.immediately after last year's tournament to bring the course back

:01:03. > :01:10.into line with the original design. Russia from players has seen every

:01:11. > :01:14.bunker rebuilt, 29 of which have been removed -- pressure. The greens

:01:15. > :01:21.have been restricted and receded. Some have been completely rebuilt.

:01:22. > :01:24.An air system has been installed to make the greens firm and fast and

:01:25. > :01:28.irrigation and drainage has been improved.

:01:29. > :01:33.Ken Browne is here, nice to see you. The changes on the course, why did

:01:34. > :01:36.they have to make them and what difference does it make? Emma

:01:37. > :01:41.Nuttall they had to make them, this was originally a classic heathland

:01:42. > :01:47.course, and it has been tampered with -- I am not sure they had to

:01:48. > :01:50.make them. They tried to go back to the original idea and they have done

:01:51. > :01:55.it well, the bunkers have become softer and the contours have changed

:01:56. > :02:00.and they are really enjoying it. No Rory Mclroy this week, a last-minute

:02:01. > :02:04.disappointment. A real shame, he was planning to play, he did not

:02:05. > :02:08.withdraw until a late point. He has injured his back and he will not

:02:09. > :02:15.play the Memorial. He was getting keys to his new club is anti-over

:02:16. > :02:21.practised, really disappointing. Still a stellar field at Wentworth,

:02:22. > :02:24.nine former winners, four former world number ones, this is how they

:02:25. > :02:28.got on over the first two days of competition.

:02:29. > :02:39.Day one, a new West Coast, Ernie Els, the designer of some, was

:02:40. > :02:43.making headlines. He replaced the ball at the 12th after identifying

:02:44. > :02:48.it and it came out too well. Eagle turning to an honourable par. Henrik

:02:49. > :02:53.Stenson started quietly and finished strongly. A struggle to find a

:02:54. > :03:00.stellar form of last year this season but this birdie at 11 14

:03:01. > :03:04.macro, in 68. Scott Jamieson had a card without blemish, no drop-shot

:03:05. > :03:08.left the Glaswegian one shot away from the lead held by Sweden's Johan

:03:09. > :03:13.Karlsson, still looking for his first Tour win, romping to the

:03:14. > :03:21.finishing 30. 6-under at the end and he will be out in front. They two

:03:22. > :03:26.and when the game its hot and sunny but drying out in the breeze and

:03:27. > :03:29.difficult. For some it was an effort to make the cut but defending

:03:30. > :03:35.champion Chris Wood found a birdie on 16 and a round of 74 90 just made

:03:36. > :03:40.the weekend. Other big names did better, Lee Westwood moving steadily

:03:41. > :03:45.into position in a group at 5-under. But rereading the way, Italy's and

:03:46. > :03:50.chess, when Ari alongside Scott Jamieson who led the home challenge.

:03:51. > :03:58.Nice to see your name top of the leaderboard. A long way to go but

:03:59. > :04:01.happy to be where I am. Also, Thomas Pieters, who missed the Players

:04:02. > :04:07.Championship in the States blamed fatigue. 69 followed 68, the Belgian

:04:08. > :04:11.was well rested and you will be dangerous at the weekend. A 3-way

:04:12. > :04:15.tie at the top of the leaderboard overnight between Italy's Molinari,

:04:16. > :04:21.Scotland's Scott Jamieson and the big hitting Belgian Thomas Pieters,

:04:22. > :04:25.who held the lead of Maximilian Kieffer with Open champion Henrik

:04:26. > :04:31.Stenson a shot further back alongside another couple of danger

:04:32. > :04:35.man, Byeong Hun An and former world number one Lee Westwood. Andrew

:04:36. > :04:41.Bache Johnston, Tyrell Hatton and Ross Fisher, the English trio, still

:04:42. > :04:46.in contention. Luke Donald knows his way around here, winning twice

:04:47. > :04:50.before. Danny Willett jokes about dusting the cobwebs off his weekend

:04:51. > :04:55.outfits as he made the cut, and Justin Rose and last year's Champion

:04:56. > :05:01.Wood sneaked in. A short week for three-time Major champion

:05:02. > :05:07.Harrington. More Major champions also fell before the weekend

:05:08. > :05:10.including Paul Lawrie, Martin Kaymer and Darren Clarke. And the much

:05:11. > :05:17.fancied Tommy Fleetwood outside the cut on 5-over par. A supporting roll

:05:18. > :05:24.for Edoardo Molinari and a different couple of days to his brother. But

:05:25. > :05:28.still some big names at the top of the leaderboard and a very exciting

:05:29. > :05:36.couple of days in prospect. Let's see who is going out with who missed

:05:37. > :05:41.the day at Wentworth, moving day. -- this Thursday. Branden Grace

:05:42. > :05:44.cause controversy on the first day of the competition, he is out with

:05:45. > :05:50.Henrik Stenson who is back at Wentworth for the first times in

:05:51. > :05:56.2014. Lee Westwood is hoping to add to his two second-place finishes,

:05:57. > :06:01.alongside Byeong Hun An, with a record low score of 21-under par.

:06:02. > :06:06.Germany's Maximilian Kieffer still looking for his maiden victory,

:06:07. > :06:12.click on this week in Europe? Is out with the much fancied Molinari. And

:06:13. > :06:16.finally, Scotland's Scott Jamieson has been leading from day one

:06:17. > :06:21.alongside Ryder Cup hero Thomas Pieters, from Belgium. So let's see

:06:22. > :06:27.how the early starters got on. After carding a double-bogey six on the

:06:28. > :06:32.fourth, this was Andrew Johnston's birdshot. It looked good. And it

:06:33. > :06:40.was. Chipping in for an eagle to move him back to 300, four from the

:06:41. > :06:44.lead. Not the perfect start for drink mead Francesco Molinari, a

:06:45. > :06:51.drop-shot on the first, bogey five, to start, dropping to 6-under par.

:06:52. > :06:57.The last player on the course was Belgian's Thomas Pieters, and he had

:06:58. > :07:02.this on the first for a par. But he misjudged it and he dropped to

:07:03. > :07:05.6-under par. England's Graeme Storm living in the right direction, this

:07:06. > :07:12.birdie taking him to within two of the lead. Scott Jamieson out on his

:07:13. > :07:17.own at 7-under par, one ahead of Francesco Molinari and playing

:07:18. > :07:24.partner Thomas Pieters, but the leader is Japan has Mac -- Japan's

:07:25. > :07:33.Tanihara. So let's get out on the course. Without commentary team.

:07:34. > :07:35.COMMENTATOR: Thank you. This is Scott Jamieson, the leader

:07:36. > :07:39.struggling down the opening hole after missing from 15 feet. A chance

:07:40. > :07:51.for a birdie. From the back of the green. It is safe. This is a day for

:07:52. > :08:06.quiet consolidation. Henrik Stenson at the par-5, and it is masterful.

:08:07. > :08:12.Educate left-to-right to save par and the fourth is always one of the

:08:13. > :08:15.easiest. Thomas Pieters clinging on to the bank. His second of the

:08:16. > :08:21.second, he will step forward and he will let it run out. It was looking

:08:22. > :08:32.good and he will save his par at the 2nd after dropping the first. Grace

:08:33. > :08:39.downhill at the 4th, second shot, big drive.

:08:40. > :08:49.The cabin is saying, down, down, down. -- the caddy. It bounds off

:08:50. > :08:53.the top of the bunker. The greens are firm. It is not a pushover to

:08:54. > :09:12.get close to many pins today. Jamieson has found the dance floor

:09:13. > :09:14.at the 2nd. This is for his birdie. A little bit of left on that one as

:09:15. > :09:33.well. What a miserable hole! Four our Open

:09:34. > :09:37.champion Henrik Stenson. It was caused by a wayward drive to the

:09:38. > :09:47.edge of the woods and it was zigzagged across and a six, a dirty

:09:48. > :09:51.Big Six! He gets it in, a par, par start. If you can par the first

:09:52. > :09:56.three holes, you are doing very nicely. He remains at 7-under, the

:09:57. > :10:00.leader by one. Branden Grace the fourth, for a birdie. Yes, well

:10:01. > :10:18.done. Birdshot of Pieters, he tried to

:10:19. > :10:24.drive the ball solo under the branches, it did not get off the

:10:25. > :10:34.ground -- birdshot. You can't really blame the weather. A little rescue,

:10:35. > :10:39.cutting it into the right pane and he has done it well, one of the best

:10:40. > :10:42.we have seen, sneaky from ), tricky, and another chance at an eagle. He

:10:43. > :11:09.is, big boy. He played a beauty and it might go.

:11:10. > :11:14.Hamburgers on me, lads! Thomas Pieters half scuffing this out.

:11:15. > :11:20.Trickling out a little, his fifth and he should be in for a six. He

:11:21. > :11:25.dropped one of the first, par at the 2nd and double-bogey at the bird. --

:11:26. > :11:52.the bird. Molinari playing this par-5 in three

:11:53. > :12:02.shots. Beautiful wedge player. And nicely done, although the hole,

:12:03. > :12:07.straight up for a birdie. Scotland's Scott Jamieson on his own

:12:08. > :12:11.at 7-under, one ahead of Francesco Molinari, and not a great start for

:12:12. > :12:17.Thomas Pieters who has dropped to four under. Alongside Tanihara, with

:12:18. > :12:25.a round of the day so far, 67, moving to four under par.

:12:26. > :12:31.This is a good view for eagle, Kieffer. A chance to join the lead

:12:32. > :12:35.again. Quite quick and he takes a lot of time to pick his line

:12:36. > :12:51.downhill, a lot of movement for his right. That was poor.

:12:52. > :13:10.Better angle to the flag at the 6th, Grace. The second, he is bound to

:13:11. > :13:21.take one hard bounds on firm greens. Just a little unlucky. He has got a

:13:22. > :13:32.couple of good putts so far to save par, this is to join the lead. It

:13:33. > :13:33.broke just a fraction more, he thought it looked straight and it

:13:34. > :13:55.drifted to the right. Kieffer, for his birdie. Not the

:13:56. > :14:01.best attempt. On the Eagle. In it goes and Kieffer to within one of

:14:02. > :14:08.Scott Jamieson, he dropped a shot at the 2nd and he gets it back on the

:14:09. > :14:13.fourth. Grace said his caddy it is a case of getting it onto the green

:14:14. > :14:20.and letting it go. This is like parking -- this is like putting on

:14:21. > :14:22.the seven at Augusta. Sit down. Very slippery, that is to save his par at

:14:23. > :14:39.the six. Normally a very reliable striker of

:14:40. > :14:45.the iron, Molinari, that is a crackerjack. A little bit of draw,

:14:46. > :14:52.one of the few players getting it within is -- within 15 feet. Grace

:14:53. > :14:56.to save par, no. He just left his second shot to the right and it was

:14:57. > :15:08.fiddly from now, so Branden Grace dropped another shot. Bogey at the

:15:09. > :15:20.1st and now back to four under par. It is a baby Beef. A little up the

:15:21. > :15:28.slope here. For a red two at the 5th for the later starters, Molinari. My

:15:29. > :15:39.goodness! Playing most of his golf on the PGA Tour.

:15:40. > :15:54.Now the remodelled eighth green. It has certainly been made easier and

:15:55. > :16:01.fairer. Dodt. He judges it well, can he get again? The Australian, in

:16:02. > :16:08.that group on four under, that moves him of the board today. Level par is

:16:09. > :16:13.a good score today and Scott Jamieson is out in front on 7-under

:16:14. > :16:18.par, one ahead of Francesco Molinari in the chasing pack. Byeong Hun An

:16:19. > :16:27.was the winner here two years ago and Jimmy's Kieffer.

:16:28. > :16:33.Grace from the downslope, the pin is on the back. A tasty little shot. He

:16:34. > :16:40.has to run it out of the bank, you can't pitch it all the way.

:16:41. > :16:48.Exceptionally good shot. Deserving a round of applause.

:16:49. > :16:59.Quite a dangerous teeshot, this sixth. Out of bounce right, and some

:17:00. > :17:00.scrubby thick bushes down the left, I hope he has avoided the

:17:01. > :17:07.rhododendron Bush. Dodt at the 9th, the hardest hole on

:17:08. > :17:26.the course, his second. Well, you could probably give him

:17:27. > :17:32.another 30 and he would not get one inside that, a beauty! That is the

:17:33. > :17:36.line, they have just moved it, they have just changed their mind.

:17:37. > :17:43.Branden Grace seems to have it. Yes, he does! Decrypting the side door,

:17:44. > :17:49.Branden Grace has not seen many birdies today, that is his second

:17:50. > :17:55.and a couple of drop shots, 5-under. Pieters driving into trouble. They

:17:56. > :18:02.are finding trouble everywhere. Now he is in more trouble.

:18:03. > :18:11.Byeong Hun An, just a bit of fluff behind the seventh green so this is

:18:12. > :18:20.to save par. Barely touching it. And away it goes on its merry way and it

:18:21. > :18:29.is a shotgun. For the South Korean. -- and it is a shot that has gone.

:18:30. > :18:37.Jumping of two years ago still in a decent place, the first drop-shot

:18:38. > :18:48.today. Jamieson left it much further away than I thought. What a

:18:49. > :18:51.miserable hole that was. Oh, dear. It will play like eccentric

:18:52. > :19:03.millionaires, Molinari leading on his own. Pieters, to save par,

:19:04. > :19:07.dragging it in the bunker, second shot greenside bunker, but beautiful

:19:08. > :19:20.from there. And it limits the damage. Molinari will not know yet

:19:21. > :19:22.he is leading on his own. Ball lying OK, we saw that after the teeshot.

:19:23. > :19:43.He still has to get it up quickly. Making sure he got it up the back

:19:44. > :19:50.level, but a bit beyond, you see how quick it is back down there. Now

:19:51. > :19:58.this is Beef with his second eagle, he also had one of at the 3rd and

:19:59. > :20:05.fourth, now behind Molinari, to the delight of his followers. Kieffer

:20:06. > :20:13.for his par on the seventh. Ilonen putt coming up. Straight right. So

:20:14. > :20:16.he slips out of that group into second place. Back among the men on

:20:17. > :20:38.four under. Thomas Pieters has found the end of

:20:39. > :20:43.a divot. Something like a 9-iron should not bother a player of his

:20:44. > :20:51.quality too much, but there will be pace on this. That was unfortunate.

:20:52. > :21:03.So many divot down there, that is where the balls gather off tee. The

:21:04. > :21:10.Australian Dodt at the 11th, four under, very much in the chase. Nice

:21:11. > :21:21.looking swing. A good shot, right! Yes! How do they do that? Thomas

:21:22. > :21:29.Pieters has been going along rather untidily and he has a long putt up

:21:30. > :21:34.the hill at the 7th. Follow the green line and it does not look too

:21:35. > :21:42.bad. What a wonderful surreal game it is! Struggling and rescuing and

:21:43. > :21:50.chuntering and in she goes! And suddenly 5-under and within sight of

:21:51. > :21:55.the leaders. So Thomas Pieters is back in the mix one shot shy of

:21:56. > :21:59.Francesco Molinari who dropped a shot on the first and steady since.

:22:00. > :22:07.Nocerino player has gone without a bogey today. That round of Tanihara

:22:08. > :22:19.stands him in good stead and he will be high up the leaderboard at the

:22:20. > :22:24.end of the day. Dodt. At the 11th. Just a push down the hill and it is

:22:25. > :22:34.there, a beauty. I am surprised he has not done better and he has had

:22:35. > :22:38.his moments but no consistency. Grace through the back of the ninth,

:22:39. > :22:47.you can see the drainage ditch has been cleared behind him. He is going

:22:48. > :22:58.to go past it. Look at it rolling. 12, 14 feet. Beef, for his par.

:22:59. > :23:07.Andrew Johnston, to call him by his proper name. That was a misread.

:23:08. > :23:18.Enlist stroke and after that eagle, he slips back. Grace. -- it was

:23:19. > :23:25.enlist/. Grace, for par at the 9th. It shot dropped.

:23:26. > :23:36.Every card is littered with bogeys, a couple of birdies and some eagles.

:23:37. > :23:46.Andrew Johnston, a bogey on the 13th. A couple of eagles. Oh, no,

:23:47. > :24:04.that is... Jamieson a long way behind Pieters,

:24:05. > :24:16.168. The Glaswegian. He grew up playing on the South side.

:24:17. > :24:27.Down there, no ripples. Yes, ripples, lots of ripples!

:24:28. > :24:31.It will have put the wind up Pieters, but he is a good deal

:24:32. > :24:48.closer to the green, the Belgian. He likes it! Well, I must have

:24:49. > :24:55.misheard, he said, that is awesome! Another birdie opportunity and

:24:56. > :25:02.Pieters getting back into things. The Australian Andrew Dodt, third

:25:03. > :25:09.shot to the 12th. Not much landing area and he has done it well. Just

:25:10. > :25:18.at the front of the green and he will have that for a birdie.

:25:19. > :25:28.Jenson Button second in the water alongside him, he came back here,

:25:29. > :25:36.fourth shot. -- Jamieson. And that is good.

:25:37. > :25:48.The tenth. Branden Grace, four under. 186 yards today. The wind

:25:49. > :26:08.swirling around, and that could be good. That is a very good results.

:26:09. > :26:14.Jamieson with a putt 45, he put his second in the water, he pitched it

:26:15. > :26:28.up to here. Has he only lost one shot? No. Oh, dear!

:26:29. > :26:42.Just want out of the lead so this is to tie the lead and he has done it,

:26:43. > :26:49.he missed a 6-under par. Very nice. -- he moves to 6-under par. Grace

:26:50. > :26:58.with unusual putting action, always keeps his hands behind the ball. And

:26:59. > :27:02.he gets it in for a delicious two, so he is one behind the leaders, and

:27:03. > :27:09.he has played consistent golf this year on the PGA Tour in America.

:27:10. > :27:17.Back-to-back birdies move Dodt into a 3-way tie alongside Molinari and

:27:18. > :27:22.Pieters. Despite two eagles, a bogey moves Andrew Johnston back to four

:27:23. > :27:25.under and Jamieson is off the top ten on 3-under par after a second

:27:26. > :27:37.double-bogey of his round on the path four A.

:27:38. > :27:43.And beef Johnstone. He played it pretty well from an awkward angle,

:27:44. > :27:53.delightful little shocked. They will cry Beef! Where is the Beef? Kieffer

:27:54. > :27:57.hit it in the trees down the right and he had to get it out sideways

:27:58. > :28:08.from an awkward spot. He has this forces bogey.

:28:09. > :28:25.38, one birdie and four bogeys. Par 35. Grace at 11th, a good drive.

:28:26. > :28:47.Buy. Bite. Yes. An at that dreadful chip,

:28:48. > :28:53.misses putt and drops the shot. Andrew Johnston at the 14th after

:28:54. > :28:58.playing a delightful pitch play -- gets his par-3. Adventurous round

:28:59. > :29:06.with a couple of bogeys, a double-bogey, a couple of eagles and

:29:07. > :29:13.a birdie. Does not look as though it will be a low runner.

:29:14. > :29:21.That is a good result if it stops. No, it has gone. It may go off the

:29:22. > :29:45.green. A very difficult tent and the wind

:29:46. > :29:57.is difficult to judge. Done very nicely, and nice bit of side on it!

:29:58. > :30:10.Grace for a birdie at 11. Quick one down the hill. What a beauty. Could

:30:11. > :30:11.be a cavalry charge on Sunday, tomorrow, the way things are shaping

:30:12. > :30:23.up. Jamieson hit over the back of the

:30:24. > :30:30.green and pitched to hear at nine and this is another stroke going.

:30:31. > :30:36.He's gone double bogey, par, double bogey, bogey. It will take him out

:30:37. > :30:49.in 40. It can be such a cruel game at times. Actor 2-under. -- back to

:30:50. > :30:55.2-under. Thomas Pieters to keep his share of the lead and he's done

:30:56. > :31:01.it... He hasn't done it. I think the ref will have to look at that again!

:31:02. > :31:11.We need to look at that again. A shot dropped. Look at that. A bag of

:31:12. > :31:17.all sorts. (STUDIO) that bogey moves him to

:31:18. > :31:20.5-under par, one behind a three Whaileyy between Andrew Dodt,

:31:21. > :31:27.Branden Grace and Francesco Molinari. Shane Lowry going on -- in

:31:28. > :31:34.the right direction along with Alex Noren, both moving to 3-under par.

:31:35. > :31:40.Kieffer for a birdie. That wheelchair him up. -- that will

:31:41. > :31:56.cheer him up. How do you fancy this one, Ken? Not

:31:57. > :32:03.much! He's hit it in the water. Is he going to get lucky? No. He was

:32:04. > :32:12.trying to play safe and still skimmed it. Andrew Dodt at the 14th.

:32:13. > :32:17.Beautiful car waiting for a hole-in-one. The first one to do it.

:32:18. > :32:32.The only one. Nice shot. Norum at the final hole having

:32:33. > :32:41.chipped into the water. He finishes miserably. It does not make for a

:32:42. > :32:49.happy evening. 12 for the last two. But still on the edge of the hunt.

:32:50. > :32:54.Shane Lowry, a our first look at him. Played some good golf yesterday

:32:55. > :33:03.without much luck on the green, but he's gathered it together today. Do

:33:04. > :33:10.we believe in the greenline? Anywhere within that and it should

:33:11. > :33:16.have a chance. I thought it was left, but in it goes. Believe the

:33:17. > :33:23.line, the line never lies. One clear now at 7-under par. He leads the PGA

:33:24. > :33:31.Championship. Down in the deep stuff, Branden Grace. Hope this

:33:32. > :33:39.hasn't plugged, Andrew. It came out very nicely. Almost holed it,

:33:40. > :33:46.Branden Grace. An amazing turnout this week, delightful weather.

:33:47. > :33:54.20,000 people here on Wednesday for the Pro-am, 25,000 yesterday. Loving

:33:55. > :34:06.their golf and the old BR. Or two! What can Spence and find here. --

:34:07. > :34:10.the odd beer. This is for an eagle. Day one he played beautifully, a

:34:11. > :34:16.little scrappy yesterday but holed some nice putts. Very tricky to make

:34:17. > :34:23.birdies today. Still not too far-away. Grace, playing with

:34:24. > :34:30.Stenson. He's birdied the tenth and 11th and this is a chance at the

:34:31. > :34:35.12th. He joins the leaders at 7-under. An Aussie and a South

:34:36. > :34:42.African at the top of the leaderboard. Two at the top now.

:34:43. > :34:47.Grace a winner on Tour and Andrew Dodt had a couple of good finishes

:34:48. > :34:54.towards the end of last year. Thomas Pieters hanging in. 67 from Tanihara

:34:55. > :35:01.much earlier in the day will stand him in good stead at the end of

:35:02. > :35:09.today. The pin tucked on the edge of the cutting surface on the left. --

:35:10. > :35:14.putting surface. Has he got it right? Where has that gone? Straight

:35:15. > :35:25.back? I think it's gone straight back into the bunker. That's cruel.

:35:26. > :35:35.It hit the flag. Shane Lowry, can he close with a birdie four?

:35:36. > :35:50.It will be a par to finish. A round of 70 for the Irishman. Good back

:35:51. > :36:01.nine, eagle on 12, birdie on 17. 68, 74, 70. Well-placed to challenge

:36:02. > :36:09.tomorrow. Grace. The pin back left today. Finding the right club is so

:36:10. > :36:20.important. 176. The wind firmly behind today. Molinari will have had

:36:21. > :36:28.a long look at the putt of Kieffer. It moved more than he thought. The

:36:29. > :36:33.same line from him. A shot goes for Molinari. Unlucky, the second shot

:36:34. > :36:40.was too accurate, back off the flag and into the bunker. He slips back

:36:41. > :36:53.to 5-under. Johnston opens up the blade to scoop it high.

:36:54. > :37:08.Not good. Going with the putt stick, Grace. The ball can pop in the air.

:37:09. > :37:18.It could come out soft. I think he has. What a little duty that was!

:37:19. > :37:29.Just got it rolling off the fringe. Look at that run of figures.

:37:30. > :37:37.A birdie putt for Johnston, but it is a long one, almost have to go off

:37:38. > :37:46.the green. Making rather heavy weather of this. A good position off

:37:47. > :37:54.the tee. Grace is one shot clear of Andrew Dodt after that run-off

:37:55. > :38:00.birdies. In that group on 4-under is Shane Lowry and we've been having a

:38:01. > :38:06.chat with him. It looks like anything under par is good today.

:38:07. > :38:11.How pleased are you? Very pleased. If you'd given me level par before

:38:12. > :38:17.today I would have taken it. This golf course is very difficult, even

:38:18. > :38:22.on a nice day. 20 mph wind and it makes it difficult. I'm very happy

:38:23. > :38:27.with 2-under and it looks like I'll be in a decent position going into

:38:28. > :38:32.tomorrow. Can Andrew Johnston save his part?

:38:33. > :38:43.He can't. Nearly reached the green in to grow on the par-5 and found an

:38:44. > :38:51.awkward lie. A six. Ben and at 13. Another testy cheap. -- chip. They

:38:52. > :38:52.keep leaving the greens and leaving themselves difficult approach shots.

:38:53. > :39:12.I don't think he liked that. Tyrrell Hatton to close with a

:39:13. > :39:20.birdie. No. No. 72 for Hatton. Frustrating, stuck in that huge

:39:21. > :39:29.group on 3-under par. That's a ball for the water.

:39:30. > :39:48.An now. I thought he'd saved the day. Double bogey. The euro, the

:39:49. > :39:54.pound, the dollar, the yen signs disappearing over the horizon at a

:39:55. > :40:00.great rate of knots. Kieffer with a par putt. They've given it a lot of

:40:01. > :40:08.attention, he and his caddy. Looks good... No. I thought he'd got it.

:40:09. > :40:15.Another one goes flying by. 2-under now.

:40:16. > :40:29.Johnston. Is there a four to finish with? Keep moving. Keep moving.

:40:30. > :40:33.That's a little bit of an untidy finish for Johnston with that bogey

:40:34. > :40:39.on the 17th. He was in good position. Andrew Dodt at 17. Two

:40:40. > :40:55.excellent shots to the edge of the green. Turn, turn, turn. She should

:40:56. > :41:00.be OK for a birdie macro four. -- he should. He's got to wait.

:41:01. > :41:20.Kieffer with the wind hard behind him at 14. Beautifully played. That

:41:21. > :41:35.for a two. Six, five finish. He'll be back again tomorrow. Well done,

:41:36. > :41:39.the Beef. The Beef is done. Andrew Dodt for a 2-putt birdie. He now

:41:40. > :41:47.shares the lead with Branden Grace. A tidy back nine, no dropped shot

:41:48. > :41:55.scum at four birdies. -- no dropped shot is, for birdies.

:41:56. > :42:06.He had a two at the 10th and he's got a two at the 14th. Well done.

:42:07. > :42:18.After that miserable first putt, Grace has this for par. Shot gone.

:42:19. > :42:32.Beautiful tee shot. Only seven or 8-iron, walk off with a five.

:42:33. > :42:42.Andrew Dodt out in front on his own, the Australian. A few adrift now, a

:42:43. > :42:56.few behind the leader. Andrew Johnston, after his level par

:42:57. > :43:02.72. Time to get the thoughts of the Beef. A roller-coaster, can you sum

:43:03. > :43:06.it up? Exactly that, roller coasters. Happy with the way I

:43:07. > :43:10.bounced back a couple of times and disappointed with the way I

:43:11. > :43:16.finished. I was in good position for a birdie on 16, and on 17 I made a

:43:17. > :43:22.six. I should have been a couple of shots better. When you put your feet

:43:23. > :43:27.up for five minutes, do you focus on the Eagles, the good shots, or do

:43:28. > :43:34.you look at the negatives? I'm focusing on the FA Cup final! I have

:43:35. > :43:36.to focus on the positives, it's still a good score and I'm still in

:43:37. > :43:53.the mix. Well done. Right in the heart of the

:43:54. > :43:59.cup, what a neat and tidy round. Very few players breaking par. 68.

:44:00. > :44:06.Four other players have broken 70 today. 8-under, he's in a good spot

:44:07. > :44:14.for tomorrow. Molyneux Ari, par putt. Asking a lot. -- Molinari.

:44:15. > :44:21.Racing it at the hole. A good effort, but it will be a dropped

:44:22. > :44:25.shot. Long-range birdie chance for Lee Westwood. We've seen one or two

:44:26. > :44:39.players leave this short. Let's see what he can do. Looks not

:44:40. > :44:44.bad. Can you believe it? Never would have dreamt it would turn that much,

:44:45. > :44:51.right into the heart of the cup. First birdie of the day for

:44:52. > :45:03.Westwood. 3-under. Two par-5s to come. You never know. Stenson for a

:45:04. > :45:08.birdie at the 17th. Well done. Another four at the last and it will

:45:09. > :45:13.put him in reasonable condition. Nothing has really happened for him

:45:14. > :45:19.today. Three bogeys, a couple of birdies coming home. Branden Grace

:45:20. > :45:25.has missed a couple of opportunities in recent holes. He one but hide

:45:26. > :45:29.Andrew Dodt. A very solid round of golf,

:45:30. > :45:35.particularly the back nine. How delighted are you? Happy to be

:45:36. > :45:42.finished because it was tricky at the end. Just a really solid day,

:45:43. > :45:48.tee to green. Very in control of my shots, holed some nice putts when I

:45:49. > :45:52.needed to. Nice to have a solid 68. When the wind gets up, it is strong.

:45:53. > :46:01.What worked particularly well for you today. Selecting the shot and

:46:02. > :46:06.committing to that. If you have any doubt, the wind magnifies the

:46:07. > :46:12.result. Really committing to the shots regardless of where it goes,

:46:13. > :46:16.that was the key. A little dodgy one. Unlucky with his tee shot to

:46:17. > :46:22.have finished so close to the bunker. Now he's done the

:46:23. > :46:26.unthinkable. He hasn't. That was nearly the most ridiculous shot in

:46:27. > :46:33.the world. Why run the risk of putting it in the water? God only

:46:34. > :46:39.knows. But he got away with it. Lee Westwood is tiptoeing up the

:46:40. > :46:49.leaderboard. Birdied the 16th. Birdies the 17th as well. A spring

:46:50. > :46:56.in the step. 4-under. Stenson, a lot of right-to-left in this one. If he

:46:57. > :47:00.could find a birdie here, he would be right back in things. And he does

:47:01. > :47:12.not. So close. Grace for a birdie. He has a unique

:47:13. > :47:45.putting action. Hit it! It's a par, no birdies on the final

:47:46. > :47:50.two par-5s for Branden Grace, but still a good back nine. Seven wins

:47:51. > :47:57.on the European Tour and he will be in the hunt tomorrow. The big names

:47:58. > :48:05.are mustering not far-away. Stenson, Westwood, Molinari, Pieters. Stenson

:48:06. > :48:11.still very much in contention. Struggles on the front nine, a

:48:12. > :48:16.couple back after that. Whisper it quietly but he has lost a couple of

:48:17. > :48:24.drives left today, Thomas Pieters. You don't want to miss left on this

:48:25. > :48:28.one. Write down the out of bounds line. Needs a bit of luck. They are

:48:29. > :48:44.peering into Mr MacGregor's garden! The green slightly slopes away from

:48:45. > :48:54.you, it is crusty, bound to come out running. It will take a deft touch

:48:55. > :49:01.to get it within a flag length. He's done well. Very well indeed. He's

:49:02. > :49:13.given himself another chance for a first birdie of the day. Westwood,

:49:14. > :49:16.third to the final hole. The pin is in its usual Sunday spot, he will

:49:17. > :49:22.remember it from his play-off against Luke Donald. That's a

:49:23. > :49:31.cracker. Absolute honey bunch and the crowd love it. He's very

:49:32. > :49:36.popular. He's taken a long time to line this one up, fiddling around. I

:49:37. > :49:43.don't think he fancies it. One birdie, one birdie. There it is.

:49:44. > :49:52.First birdie of the day. A birdie machine, a machine that makes one

:49:53. > :49:58.birdie. He moves to 5-under. Out of bounds off the tee so this is three

:49:59. > :50:04.of the two, -- off the tee, playing his fourth, Pieters. That goes

:50:05. > :50:22.bounding on. Westwood, a little bit of

:50:23. > :50:29.right-to-left. Very gettable. Rolling well. Westwood has it.

:50:30. > :50:34.Creeping into contention. Up into a tie for third place with Molinari,

:50:35. > :50:44.three behind Andrew Dodt. He will be there tomorrow. Look at that finish.

:50:45. > :50:49.Pieters, it could have been worse, it is just one shot gone after going

:50:50. > :50:58.out of bounds with his first tee shot. Back to 3-under. It is Andrew

:50:59. > :51:05.Dodt out in front. A lot of jostling for position but hide the top two.

:51:06. > :51:12.Only 72 from Westwood in the end, but 5-under par and in a good

:51:13. > :51:17.position to challenge. A very good school today in these

:51:18. > :51:22.conditions. How pleased are you with the way you please -- played? Yeah,

:51:23. > :51:27.big time. Such a grinder, just trying to stay alive. I played some

:51:28. > :51:32.good golf, I hit the ball tremendously from tee to green and

:51:33. > :51:35.managed to make a couple of putts. You will have a couple of mishaps

:51:36. > :51:39.but it's good to come out on the better side of the schools. What a

:51:40. > :51:46.finish, that's changed things nicely. I wasn't playing well and

:51:47. > :51:51.Tour the last four holes. To get into contention is great for

:51:52. > :51:57.tomorrow. A day of some frustration for Francesco Molinari. He's been

:51:58. > :52:05.made to work hard on the final hole, but in it goes for a par. The only

:52:06. > :52:09.birdie came at the 17th. Slipping back a bit today, but still within

:52:10. > :52:13.three of the lead. It had been ready difficult day for

:52:14. > :52:21.Thomas Pieters. Bogey on 17 and it was to get worse on 18. This was his

:52:22. > :52:24.approach to the par-5. He would sign for a seven, finishing sixth over

:52:25. > :52:39.for the day, moving down to 1-under par. Andrew Dodt, 8-under par with a

:52:40. > :52:44.1-shot lead over Branden Grace. A really tough day out there. You're

:52:45. > :52:49.still in amongst it, how do you assess your performance? I thought

:52:50. > :52:53.it was pretty good. The front nine I fought really hard to keep the

:52:54. > :52:59.school together. I was just a bit unlucky and didn't take my chances

:53:00. > :53:07.on the back nine. I was hoping for a better round, but 2-over is not too

:53:08. > :53:15.bad in these conditions. We will be back with the highlights tomorrow. A

:53:16. > :53:26.lot more sport over the bank holiday weekend on the BBC.

:53:27. > :53:34.International cricket is back on the BBC.

:53:35. > :53:41.An interesting if not sensational day around the West Course.

:53:42. > :53:45.Conditions are expected to be calmer tomorrow and with 14 players all

:53:46. > :53:51.within five shots off the lead, is all set up for a big finish. Andrew

:53:52. > :53:56.Dodt is the man to catch. Former world number one Lee Westwood and

:53:57. > :53:59.open macro champion Henrik Stenson among those doing the chasing.

:54:00. > :54:01.Should be a cracker. See you tomorrow.
