:00:30. > :00:38.Hello and welcome to Wentworth, deep in the heart of Surrey. A beautiful
:00:39. > :00:41.part of the world and the crowds have gathered to see some of the
:00:42. > :00:46.world's best golfers trying to tame this often treacherous golf course,
:00:47. > :00:52.but has undergone somewhat of a makeover since last year.
:00:53. > :00:54.An expensive multi-million pounds renovation programme began
:00:55. > :01:00.immediately after the tournament last year to bring the course back
:01:01. > :01:04.in line with the original design. Pressure from players has seen every
:01:05. > :01:08.bunker being rebuilt, 29 of which have been removed. All of the greens
:01:09. > :01:14.have been completely stripped, we contoured and reseeded. Some of them
:01:15. > :01:17.have been completely rebuilt. Is that their system has been installed
:01:18. > :01:21.to all the greens to make them firmer and faster and irrigation and
:01:22. > :01:25.drainage has been improved. Let's see how the changes has affected
:01:26. > :01:31.play over the first two days of competition. Day one, a New Course
:01:32. > :01:37.to get back to the old. Ernie Els was making headlines as he prepares
:01:38. > :01:42.to the bull by the 12th after identifying it, but he said it came
:01:43. > :01:46.out too well. He got a two shot penalty.
:01:47. > :01:52.Henrik Stenson began quietly and finished strongly, a struggle to
:01:53. > :01:59.find his stellar form so far this year. But coming home on a 68. Scott
:02:00. > :02:05.Jamieson have a card without blemish, no dropped shots leaving
:02:06. > :02:09.him one shot from the lead. That was held by Johan Carlsson, still
:02:10. > :02:18.looking for his first win on the Tour, just a couple of slips but 600
:02:19. > :02:22.at the end. He will be out in front. The second day, Wentworth again hot
:02:23. > :02:26.and sunny but drying out the breeze and difficult. For some effort
:02:27. > :02:31.simply to make the cut. Defending champion Chris Wood found a birdie
:02:32. > :02:35.at the 16th annual round of 74, just making the weekend. Other big names
:02:36. > :02:40.did better, Lee Westwood moving steadily into position in a group of
:02:41. > :02:44.5-under. But three were leading the way, Francesco Molinari from Italy,
:02:45. > :02:49.alongside Scott Jamieson who led the home challenge. Always nice to see
:02:50. > :02:56.your name top of the leaderboard or thereabouts. So long way go but
:02:57. > :02:59.happy to be amongst it. Also there Thomas Pieters who missed the
:03:00. > :03:03.Players Championship in the States blaming fatigue. 69 followed 68, the
:03:04. > :03:08.Belgian well rested will be dangerous at the weekend. It was a
:03:09. > :03:12.3-way tie at the top of the leaderboard overnight between
:03:13. > :03:16.Francesco Molinari of Italy, Scott Jamieson of Scotland and the big
:03:17. > :03:21.hitting Belgian Thomas Pieters. They held a 1-shot lead over Maximilian
:03:22. > :03:23.Kieffer of Germany with Henrik Stenson lurking just a shot further
:03:24. > :03:32.back alongside another couple of danger men, Ben and and Lee
:03:33. > :03:37.Westwood. Andrew Bridge Johnson, Tyrrell Hatton and Ross Fisher all
:03:38. > :03:42.still very much in contention on 3-under. And Luke Donald knows his
:03:43. > :03:46.new way around the course. Danny Willett has joked about dusting off
:03:47. > :03:53.the cobwebs as he made the cut on 1-over. Justin Rose and Chris Wood
:03:54. > :04:00.just sneaked in. It was a short week for three-time major champion
:04:01. > :04:07.Padraig Harrington,. More major champions also fell before the
:04:08. > :04:12.weekend, Martian, and Daryl Clarke and Fleetwood also outside the cut
:04:13. > :04:16.on 5-over par. And a supporting role for Edoardo Molinari over the
:04:17. > :04:20.weekend, and a different couple of days to his brother Francesco
:04:21. > :04:24.Molinari. Still a lot of big names around the top of the leaderboard.
:04:25. > :04:33.And a very exciting couple of days in prospect. Here is who is out with
:04:34. > :04:36.you on the third day. Branden Grace of South Africa caused controversy
:04:37. > :04:40.with a free drop in a bunker on the first-ever competition. He's out
:04:41. > :04:44.with open champion Henrik Stenson who was back at Wentworth for the
:04:45. > :04:49.first time since 2014. Lee Westwood is hoping to to add to his two
:04:50. > :04:56.second-place finishes in his event and he's alongside Byeong-hun An.
:04:57. > :05:00.Maximilian Kieffer is still looking for his maiden European Tour
:05:01. > :05:03.victory, could it come this week? He's out with the much fancied
:05:04. > :05:09.Francesco Molinari in the penultimate group. And in the final
:05:10. > :05:12.pairing Scott Jamieson of Scotland alongside Ryder Cup hero Thomas
:05:13. > :05:19.Pieters from Belgium. Let's see how the early starters got on.
:05:20. > :05:23.Having carded a double bogey six on the fourth this was Andrew Johnson
:05:24. > :05:29.and his third shot past five fourth. It looks good and it was good.
:05:30. > :05:34.Chipping in for an eagle to move him back to 3-under par. Four from the
:05:35. > :05:38.lead. Not the perfect start for joint
:05:39. > :05:45.leader Francesco Molinari, a drop shot on the first, bogey five to
:05:46. > :05:48.start. He would drop to 6-under par. And the last player out on the
:05:49. > :05:54.course was Thomas Pieters, he had this ballpark on first. But this
:05:55. > :06:00.judgment there and he would also drop to 6-under par. Graeme Storm
:06:01. > :06:05.moving in the right direction, this birdie took him to within two of the
:06:06. > :06:10.lead. So Scott Jamieson out on his own on 7-under par. One ahead of
:06:11. > :06:16.Francesco Molinari and playing partner Thomas Pieters. But
:06:17. > :06:21.Clubhouse leader is Hideto Tanihara, moving to 4-under par. Let's get out
:06:22. > :06:25.on the course with your commentary team, Andrew Carter, Ken Brown and
:06:26. > :06:30.Peter Ellis. Thank you, here is Scott Jamieson at the 2nd. The
:06:31. > :06:40.leaders struggling down the opening hole. He missed from about 15 feet.
:06:41. > :06:47.A chance for a birdie. Safely on. This is a day for quiet
:06:48. > :07:03.consideration. Jamieson at the par-5. Masterful. A tricky little
:07:04. > :07:07.left to right. The force is always one of the easier holes. Thomas
:07:08. > :07:14.Pieters just clinging on the top of the bank. Just letting it run out. A
:07:15. > :07:43.mighty good looker. Grace, down the hill at the 4th. The
:07:44. > :07:51.drive. His caddy saying down, down. The greens are firm. Certainly not a
:07:52. > :08:02.pushover to get close to many of the pins today.
:08:03. > :08:17.Scott Jamieson has found the dance floor at the 2nd. This is for
:08:18. > :08:29.birdie. A little bit left on that. -- Matt. What a miserable hole. For
:08:30. > :08:32.the open champion Henrik Stenson. Caused by a wayward drive to the
:08:33. > :08:44.edge of the woods and then it was all chip. A dirty big six.
:08:45. > :08:52.Bangs it into the back. If you can par at the 1st three holes today you
:08:53. > :08:53.are doing nicely. Leader by one. Branden Grace at the 4th. For a
:08:54. > :09:17.birdie. Well done. Third shot, Thomas Pieters, he has
:09:18. > :09:21.done it again. Kept it so low. So the leaders are making heavy weather
:09:22. > :09:32.of this. You cannot really blame the weather. Maximilian Kieffer, he has
:09:33. > :09:37.done that well, one of the best that we have seen, this is a tricky pin
:09:38. > :09:49.and a chance now of an eagle. Here he
:09:50. > :10:15.is. , big boy. He plays a beauty. And it might go. Thomas Pieters,
:10:16. > :10:38.trickling out a little. Looks like a double bogey at the 3rd.
:10:39. > :10:50.Francesco Molinari playing this par-5 as three shots. He is a
:10:51. > :10:59.beautiful wedge player. Nicely done, straight up for a birdie.
:11:00. > :11:04.So Scott Jamieson out on his own at 7-under par. One ahead of Francesco
:11:05. > :11:08.Molinari but it has not been a great start for Thomas Pieters who dropped
:11:09. > :11:12.down to 4-under par. Alongside Hideto Tanihara from Japan, the man
:11:13. > :11:21.who had the round of the day so far. 67 moves him 4-under par.
:11:22. > :11:25.A good view of this part for eagle for Maximilian Kieffer. There is a
:11:26. > :11:31.lot in it, a chance to join the lead. He's taken a lot of time to
:11:32. > :11:51.pick his line which is downhill. A little to the right. That is poor. A
:11:52. > :12:01.better angle to the flag at six four Branden Grace. Bound to take at
:12:02. > :12:16.least one hard bounce on these firm greens. Just a little bit unlucky.
:12:17. > :12:21.He has told a couple of good putts to save par so far, will marry. This
:12:22. > :12:28.to join the lead. -- Francesco Molinari.
:12:29. > :12:45.Broke just a fraction more than he thought. Drifted to the right.
:12:46. > :12:54.Maximilian Kieffer for his birdie. Not the best attempt on the eagle.
:12:55. > :13:00.In it goes and he is within one of Scott Jamieson. Dropped a shot at
:13:01. > :13:06.the 2nd, he gets it back on the fourth. Branden Grace has said to
:13:07. > :13:17.his caddy just a case of getting it on the line and letting it go. Very
:13:18. > :13:30.slippery there. That's to save his par at the 6th.
:13:31. > :13:38.Normally a reliable striker is Molinari. A little bit of draw, one
:13:39. > :13:49.of the few players that have got it within 15 feet. Grace to save par on
:13:50. > :13:53.the sixth. No. Just left his second shot up to the right and fiddly
:13:54. > :13:57.up-and-down from there. So he dropped another shot. Back to
:13:58. > :14:24.4-under par. A baby Beef! A little bit up the
:14:25. > :14:26.slope. Molinari. Oh, my goodness. Played most of his golf on the PGA
:14:27. > :14:36.Tour. Now the remodelled eight screen.
:14:37. > :15:00.Certainly made easier. Andrew. . -- Andrew Dodt. He moves to that
:15:01. > :15:04.group on 4-under par. So level passes to be a good squad today and
:15:05. > :15:08.that is what Scott Jamieson is doing, keeping him out in front on
:15:09. > :15:12.7-under par, one ahead of Francesco Molinari. In the chasing pack we
:15:13. > :15:21.have the winner of two years ago, Byeong-hun An and Maximilian Kieffer
:15:22. > :15:29.of Germany. Grace from the downslope. A testy
:15:30. > :15:36.little shot. It has to run up the bank, cannot picture it all the way.
:15:37. > :15:46.Exceptionally good shot. Deserving of a round of applause.
:15:47. > :15:55.Quite a dangerous tee shot at the 6th. Out of bounds right and some
:15:56. > :16:03.scrubby thick bushes down the left. I hope he avoided the rhododendron
:16:04. > :16:23.bush. Andrew Dodt, the hardest hole in the
:16:24. > :16:32.course is the second. What a beauty. There is the line that our guys have
:16:33. > :16:40.just placed. Branden Grace seems to have it and he has it. He has not
:16:41. > :16:51.seen too many birdies today, that is his second. 5-under. Thomas Pieters,
:16:52. > :17:02.they're finding trouble everywhere. That is more trouble.
:17:03. > :17:08.Now Byeong-hun An, that sticky rough behind the seventh green and this is
:17:09. > :17:21.to save par. Just barely touched it. It goes off on its merry way.
:17:22. > :17:31.The champion of two years ago, still in a decent place. First dropped
:17:32. > :17:44.shot today. Jamieson left it much further away than I thought. What a
:17:45. > :17:49.miserable hole that was. Oh dear. They all play like eccentric
:17:50. > :17:59.millionaires. Byeong-hun An -- Molinari leads on his own.
:18:00. > :18:08.Now Thomas Pieters to save par. Beautifully played shot. Limiting
:18:09. > :18:19.the damage. In our Molinari, leading on his own.
:18:20. > :18:34.The ball lying OK. He still has to get it up sharply.
:18:35. > :18:51.Making sure he got it up the back level but a bit beyond. And here is
:18:52. > :18:58.Beef, now within one of Francesco Molinari to the delight of his
:18:59. > :19:07.followers. Now Maximilian Kieffer for his par.
:19:08. > :19:13.Long putt coming up. A few feet shy. So he slips out of that group in
:19:14. > :19:26.second place. Up amongst the men on 4-under.
:19:27. > :19:41.Thomas Pieters has found the end of the divot. It should not bother a
:19:42. > :19:45.player of his quality too much. That was unfortunate. So many of those
:19:46. > :20:05.debates down there. This trillion Andrew Dodt very much
:20:06. > :20:19.in the chase at 11. A good shot. Yes. -- the Australian. Thomas
:20:20. > :20:25.Pieters has been going along rather untidily, he has a long putt up the
:20:26. > :20:35.hill at the 7th. Not looking too bad. What a wonderful, silly old
:20:36. > :20:46.game it is. Struggling, fluffing, and in she goes. And suddenly
:20:47. > :20:50.5-under within sight of the leaders. So Thomas Pieters back in the mix.
:20:51. > :20:53.Just one shot shy of Francesco Molinari who dropped a shot in the
:20:54. > :20:58.first and has been steady since then. Not a single player has gone
:20:59. > :21:04.without a bogey today showing how difficult it is. Hideto Tanihara,
:21:05. > :21:12.that round will stand in goods that said, at 67. -- stand him in good
:21:13. > :21:17.stead. Andrew Dodt at the 11th. Just a
:21:18. > :21:24.little push down the hill and a beauty. Surprised he has not gone
:21:25. > :21:32.better. He's had his moments but no consistency.
:21:33. > :21:38.Grace through the back of the night. That little drainage ditch just
:21:39. > :21:52.behind and has been cleared. It is going to go by. Look at it though.
:21:53. > :22:02.Beef for his par. Andrew Johnston to give him his proper name. That was a
:22:03. > :22:13.misread. And after that eagle he slips back. Branden Grace for a par
:22:14. > :22:24.at the 9th. Another shot dropped.
:22:25. > :22:32.Every card littered with bogeys. A couple of birdies, the odd eagle.
:22:33. > :22:49.Johnson, bogey on the 13th. A couple of Eagles in there.
:22:50. > :23:09.James a long way behind Thomas Pieters. 168 for the Glaswegian.
:23:10. > :23:30.-- Jamieson. Lots of ripples. That will put the wind up Thomas
:23:31. > :23:42.Pieters, a good deal closer to the green, the Belgian.
:23:43. > :23:49.He said, that is awesome. Another birdie opportunity for Thomas
:23:50. > :23:59.Pieters and he is getting back into things. The Australian Andrew Dodt,
:24:00. > :24:01.third shot to the 12th. Not much landing area and he has done it
:24:02. > :24:18.well. Now Jamieson put his second in the
:24:19. > :24:39.water, came back to here, fourth shot. And it is a good one.
:24:40. > :24:48.Tenth. Branden Grace. 186 yards today. The wind swirling around and
:24:49. > :25:03.that could be good. That is a very good result.
:25:04. > :25:14.Jamieson over the putt for a five. Put his second of the water. Pitched
:25:15. > :25:26.up to here is the only lost one shot, no. Oh dear.
:25:27. > :25:31.This is to tie the lead. And he has done it. He moves to 6-under par.
:25:32. > :25:50.Very nice. Unusual patting action, he always
:25:51. > :26:00.keeps his hands behind the ball address. Absolutely delicious, one
:26:01. > :26:05.behind the leaders. Very consistent this year. So back birdies moved
:26:06. > :26:09.Andrew Dodt into a 3-way tie off the lead on 6-under par alongside
:26:10. > :26:13.Francesco Molinari and Thomas Pieters. Despite two eagles on his
:26:14. > :26:18.card and a bogey at 13, Andrew Johnson was back down to 4-under par
:26:19. > :26:22.and Scott Jamieson is off the top ten, down on 3-under par after a
:26:23. > :26:34.second double bogey from his round on the par 48.
:26:35. > :26:35.Beef Johnson, Andrew Johnston. Played that pretty well from an
:26:36. > :26:53.awkward angle. Maximilian Kieffer, hacked out
:26:54. > :27:04.sideways from an awkward spot. This is for his bogey.
:27:05. > :27:46.Byeong-hun An after that dreadful chip. Drops a shot. Johnson at the
:27:47. > :27:52.14th. Having played a delightful little hitch up from the front of
:27:53. > :27:56.the green he gets his part three. He has had an adventurous round, a
:27:57. > :28:07.couple of bogeys, a double bogey, a couple of Eagles, a birdie. Does not
:28:08. > :28:16.look as if it will be a low one and runner. That is a good result. No,
:28:17. > :28:33.it has gone. It may go off the green.
:28:34. > :28:40.A very difficult tenth with the wind is difficult to judge. That has done
:28:41. > :28:52.very nicely. A little bit of side on it. Nice angle for Maximilian
:28:53. > :29:02.Kieffer. Grace for a birdie at 11. Quick one down the hill. What a
:29:03. > :29:14.beauty. Could be a cavalry charge on Sunday
:29:15. > :29:18.the way that things are shaping up. Jameson hit over the back of the
:29:19. > :29:30.green and pitched up to you at the 9th. He has gone double bogey par,
:29:31. > :29:43.double bogey, bogey. It can be such a cruel game at
:29:44. > :29:47.times. Back to 2-under. Thomas Pieters now, to keep his
:29:48. > :29:52.share of the lead. And he has done it. Oh, he has not done it. I think
:29:53. > :30:05.the referee will need to look at that again. A shot dropped. And look
:30:06. > :30:10.at that, all sorts. That bogey for Thomas Pieters moves
:30:11. > :30:27.into 5-under par one behind a 3-way lead between Andrew -- Andrew Dodt
:30:28. > :30:30.and Molinari. Maximilian Kieffer for a birdie. A
:30:31. > :30:52.bat will cheer him up. -- that will. How do you fancy this one, Ken? Not
:30:53. > :30:56.much. He's in the water. Alex Noren, is he going to get lucky? He was
:30:57. > :31:06.trying to play safe and still skimmed it. Andrew Dodt at the 14th.
:31:07. > :31:19.Beautiful car waiting for anyone who can hold in one, the first one to do
:31:20. > :31:33.it. -- hole-in-one. It be only one. Alex Noren at the final hole having
:31:34. > :31:46.chipped into the water. Still on the edge of the hunt. Shane Lowry.
:31:47. > :31:53.Played some good golf yesterday, didn't have much luck on the greens
:31:54. > :31:58.but has gathered it together today. Do we believe in the green line.
:31:59. > :32:05.Anywhere within that should have a chance. He might be left. You
:32:06. > :32:16.thought it was left, but in it goes. Andrew Dodt won clear now, 7-under
:32:17. > :32:20.par heel leads the BMW PGA Championship. Down in the deep
:32:21. > :32:31.stuff, Branden Grace. I hope this hasn't plugged, Andrew. It came out
:32:32. > :32:40.very nicely. Near enough holed it, Branden Grace. 20,000 people here
:32:41. > :32:47.for the celebrity Pro-Am, yesterday 25,000 people. Loving the golf and
:32:48. > :33:01.the odd beer or two. There is Stenson. What can he find here? This
:33:02. > :33:06.is for an eagle. Day one he played beautifully, yesterday a little
:33:07. > :33:15.scrappy in places but holed some nice putts. Still not too far away.
:33:16. > :33:21.To Grace, playing with Stenson. He has birdied the tenth, the 11th,
:33:22. > :33:27.this is a chance at the 12... And he joins the lead at 7-under. An Aussie
:33:28. > :33:32.under South African at the top of the leaderboard. So there we are,
:33:33. > :33:40.two at the top, Andrew Dodt and Branden Grace. Andrew Dodt had a
:33:41. > :33:42.couple of good finishes last year at the start of the season. Thomas
:33:43. > :34:05.Pieters hanging in there. The pin in quite a narrow spot. Has
:34:06. > :34:10.he got it right? Where has that gone? Straight back, hasn't it? I
:34:11. > :34:21.think it has gone straight back into the bunker. That's cruel. Shane
:34:22. > :34:36.Lowry, can he close with a birdie four? It will be a par to finish,
:34:37. > :34:42.and a round of 70 for the Irishman. Good back nine, eagle on the 12th,
:34:43. > :34:51.birdie on the 17th. Well-placed to challenge tomorrow.
:34:52. > :35:11.Now Grace, pin back left today. 176. You can see the wind firmly behind
:35:12. > :35:22.today. Molinari will have had a long look at the putt of Kieffer. He too
:35:23. > :35:26.took exactly the same line. That was unlucky, second shot very accurate,
:35:27. > :35:34.too accurate, back off the flag into the bunker and slips back to
:35:35. > :35:51.5-under. Johnson opens up the blade to scoop it high.
:35:52. > :36:05.Going with the putter here, Grace can pop it in the air. It has come
:36:06. > :36:14.out soft. He hasn't, has he? What a little beauty that was. Just rolling
:36:15. > :36:22.off the fringe. Delightful. 8-under for Branden Grace, and look at those
:36:23. > :36:30.figures! It is a birdie putt for Johnson, but it has to almost go off
:36:31. > :36:39.the green. He's making rather heavy weather of this. It was a good
:36:40. > :36:46.position off the tee. So it is Grace who is one shot clear of Andrew Dodt
:36:47. > :36:50.now after that run of birdies. Molinari and Thomas Pieters
:36:51. > :36:54.alongside each other. Shane Lowry has been having a chat.
:36:55. > :36:59.It looks like anything under par is good today, how pleased are you with
:37:00. > :37:03.how you got on? Very pleased, starting on the range today if you
:37:04. > :37:08.had given me level par I would have taken it. It's one of those days,
:37:09. > :37:12.this course is very difficult even on a nice day, but with a 20 mph
:37:13. > :37:14.wind blowing it makes it very difficult. It looks like I'm in a
:37:15. > :37:35.decent position going into tomorrow. Can Andrew Johnson says his par? He
:37:36. > :37:45.can't. Down at the 13th. Another testy chip to keep missing the
:37:46. > :37:57.greens and leaving themselves very difficult approach shots. I don't
:37:58. > :38:05.think he liked that! Tyrrell Hatton to close with a birdie. You know.
:38:06. > :38:09.The best way of describing that, 72 that will be for him. Very
:38:10. > :38:28.frustrating, stuck in that huge group and 3-under par. It is a ball
:38:29. > :38:37.for the water. And now... And he... No he hasn't. I thought he had saved
:38:38. > :38:46.the day. Double bogey. The euro, the pound, the dollar, the yen signs
:38:47. > :38:55.disappearing over the horizon. Kieffer with this par putt. They've
:38:56. > :39:05.given it a lot of attention he and his caddy. I thought he got it.
:39:06. > :39:17.Another one goes flying by. Two under now. Johnson.
:39:18. > :39:30.Is there a four to finish with? Keep moving. That little bit of an finish
:39:31. > :39:31.for Johnston. Andrew Dodt at the 17th, two excellent shots at the
:39:32. > :39:49.edge of the green. Turn, turn, turn. No. Should be OK
:39:50. > :40:03.for a birdie four but he's got to wait. Kieffer, wind hard behind him
:40:04. > :40:14.at the 14th. Beautifully played. Coming in on the contours and
:40:15. > :40:28.Kieffer, that for a two. 65 finish, he will be back again tomorrow. Well
:40:29. > :40:33.done. Andrew Dodt for a two putt birdie, and he now shares the lead
:40:34. > :40:49.with Branden Grace. That's a tidy back nine, no dropped shots. Kieffer
:40:50. > :40:58.playing with Molinari, this for two. He had a two at the 10th and he has
:40:59. > :41:07.a two at the 14th, well done. After that first putt at the 16th, Grace
:41:08. > :41:15.has this for a par. Shot gone. Beautiful tee shot, only an 8-iron
:41:16. > :41:26.from the green, seven or eight, walk off with a five.
:41:27. > :41:42.So Andrew Dodt out in front on his own, the Australian 8-under.
:41:43. > :41:53.Further down Andrew Johnston after his level par 72, 3-under, time to
:41:54. > :41:59.get his thoughts. It was a bit of a roller-coaster, can you sum it up
:42:00. > :42:04.for us? A roller-coaster, happy with how I bounced back a couple of
:42:05. > :42:10.times, then a disappointing finish. Good one at 17 to make birdie, then
:42:11. > :42:15.I made a six which was annoying. When you go back into the clubhouse
:42:16. > :42:21.and put your feet up, do you focus on the good shots or do you look on
:42:22. > :42:25.the negative side and try to work on that? I'm focusing on the FA Cup
:42:26. > :42:31.final! I don't know what you're talking about! No, you have got to
:42:32. > :42:41.focus on the positives. I am still in the mix so it's a positive thing.
:42:42. > :42:52.Well done, right in the heart of the cut, what a neat and tidy round.
:42:53. > :42:54.Very few players breaking par. XD eight, and at 8-under he's in a good
:42:55. > :43:15.spot for tomorrow. That was a good effort but it's
:43:16. > :43:26.going to be a dropped shot. Birdie chance for Lee Westwood. One or two
:43:27. > :43:33.players leave this short. See what he can do. It looks not bad. Can you
:43:34. > :43:40.believe it? I would never have dreamt it when he turned that much,
:43:41. > :43:47.right into the heart of the cut. The first birdie of today, Lee Westwood,
:43:48. > :44:02.3-under. Two par fivess to come, you never know. Stenson for a birdie at
:44:03. > :44:08.the 17th. Well done. Nothing has happened for him today really. Three
:44:09. > :44:12.bogeys, a couple of birdies so far coming home. Branden Grace has
:44:13. > :44:20.missed a couple of opportunities in recent holes. He is one behind
:44:21. > :44:27.Andrew Dodt. Andrew, a solid round of golf today, how are you feeling
:44:28. > :44:32.about how today went? Pretty happy because it was tricky at the end. It
:44:33. > :44:41.was a solid day, very in control of my shots, holed some nice putts when
:44:42. > :44:47.I needed to and it was nice to have a solid 68. When the wind gets up it
:44:48. > :44:52.is strong, what worked particularly well for you today? I think just
:44:53. > :44:58.selecting the shot and 100% committing to that. If you have any
:44:59. > :45:02.doubt out there, the wind magnifies the results so really committing to
:45:03. > :45:07.the shots regardless of where it goes, that was probably Mikey. It's
:45:08. > :45:11.not the most familiar territory for you, an event of this size, what do
:45:12. > :45:18.you do to relax and get yourself ready? I go back, I will probably
:45:19. > :45:27.have a barbecue tonight and play with the dog. Some home comforts.
:45:28. > :45:33.What will it take tomorrow? Some patients, calmness, and plodding
:45:34. > :45:40.around the course like I have the last couple of days. Good luck.
:45:41. > :45:49.He has done the unthinkable... That was nearly the most ridiculous shot.
:45:50. > :45:58.It was an awkward one, but why risk putting it in the water over the God
:45:59. > :46:07.only knows. He got away with it. Now Lee Westwood is tiptoeing up the
:46:08. > :46:18.leaderboard. A little spring in the step, 4-under. Stenson, right to
:46:19. > :46:20.left in this one. If you can find a birdie here, he would be right back
:46:21. > :46:38.in things. And he doesn't. So close. Grace, for a birdie. His unique
:46:39. > :47:20.sporting -- putting action. Seven wins in the European Tour, he
:47:21. > :47:26.will be back tomorrow. And Stenson is there with 4-under. Westwood,
:47:27. > :47:31.Mullen Ari, Thomas Pieters. Stenson still very much in contention.
:47:32. > :47:38.Struggles on the front nine, got a couple back after that. He has lost
:47:39. > :47:47.a couple of drives left today, Thomas Pieters. He won't want to
:47:48. > :48:07.miss from this one. It is right down the out of bounds line. The green
:48:08. > :48:16.slightly slopes away from you. The green is a bit crusty, it is bound
:48:17. > :48:21.to come out running. It will take a deft touch to get it into flag
:48:22. > :48:26.length. He's done very well indeed, Mullen Ari. He has got himself
:48:27. > :48:41.another chance, a first birdie of the day. Westwood, third to the
:48:42. > :48:47.final hole. The pin in its usual Sunday sport, he will remember it
:48:48. > :48:56.from his game with McDonald. The crowd love it. Very popular, Lee. He
:48:57. > :49:00.has taken a long time to line this one up, Andrew. Fiddling back and
:49:01. > :49:10.forth. I don't think he fancies it much. There it is. First birdie of
:49:11. > :49:19.the day. Birdie machine. Francesco Molinari moves to 5-under. Out of
:49:20. > :49:27.bounced off the tee, this is three off the tee, so playing his fourth.
:49:28. > :49:48.Bounding on. Westwood then. Just a little bit of
:49:49. > :49:55.right-to-left, very holeable. Rolling well, creeping into
:49:56. > :50:08.contention. Into a tie at third place with Molinari. Look at that
:50:09. > :50:13.finish. Pieters, well it could have been worse, just one shot gone after
:50:14. > :50:19.going out of bounds with his first tee shot. Back to 3-under. It is
:50:20. > :50:35.Andrew Dodt out in front, Branden Grace docked -- tucked in behind
:50:36. > :50:43.him. The Westwood third, let's hear from them both. Branden, how pleased
:50:44. > :50:48.are you with the way you played? Yes, big time. Just trying to stay
:50:49. > :50:53.alive out there I suppose but it was fun. I hit the ball tremendously
:50:54. > :50:57.from tee to green. Obviously you are going to have some mishaps on a day
:50:58. > :51:04.like today but it is nice to come out on the better side of the scores
:51:05. > :51:11.and being there with a chance tomorrow. How difficult was the
:51:12. > :51:15.course today? It was brutal. Today was tough, especially with the new
:51:16. > :51:19.greens. It is firm. You have to be on top of your game, you have to
:51:20. > :51:23.pick the right spots and the right shots you want to hit. Fortunately I
:51:24. > :51:27.played well, I kept it going, kept it in the red and have a chance
:51:28. > :51:35.tomorrow. Lee, what a finish! Yes, I birdied
:51:36. > :51:39.the last three holes to get into contention, it's obviously great for
:51:40. > :51:44.tomorrow and gives me a chance. On a day like today when the wind is
:51:45. > :51:52.blowing, how much does it come down to patients? It's a lot down to
:51:53. > :51:57.patients. I hit one green in regulation through 14 so it was very
:51:58. > :52:02.much a grinding day and just trying to make as much of it as I could and
:52:03. > :52:09.to be 3-over going down 15 was quite an achievement, and the patience
:52:10. > :52:13.paid off. When the wind is blowing, can you give a sense of how
:52:14. > :52:19.difficult it was? Ideally you want to be coming out of the fairway, the
:52:20. > :52:23.greens are so firm. Then you try to knock shots in low to the greens,
:52:24. > :52:27.they are not really receptive. You are not going to hit a lot of
:52:28. > :52:32.fairways probably, you will not hit a lot of greens, but when you miss
:52:33. > :52:37.greens, missed them in the right spots so you have a chance to save
:52:38. > :52:42.par. Do you go into tomorrow feeling pretty relaxed about it all? Yes,
:52:43. > :52:48.today has given me a lot of confidence, to get round on level
:52:49. > :52:54.par. Mentally I was very strong out there and just stuck with it. A day
:52:55. > :53:00.of some frustration for Francesco Molinari. He will need to work hard
:53:01. > :53:06.on this final hole was well. Just one birdie on his card which came at
:53:07. > :53:09.the 17th. Slipping back a little today but still within three of the
:53:10. > :53:16.lead. It has been a really difficult day
:53:17. > :53:21.for the overnight leader, Thomas Pieters and it was to get worse on
:53:22. > :53:26.the 18th. He found the water and finished 6-over for the day moving
:53:27. > :53:34.down the leaderboard to 1-under par. But at the top of the leaderboard,
:53:35. > :53:39.Australia's Andrew Dodt 8-under par. Just behind Branden Grace, England's
:53:40. > :53:45.Lee Westwood and Francesco Molinari from Italy. Francesco, a tough day
:53:46. > :53:50.but you are still very much amongst it, how do you assess your first
:53:51. > :53:54.date? I thought it was pretty good. The front line I found it hard to
:53:55. > :53:59.keep the score together and I was a bit unlucky and didn't take my
:54:00. > :54:04.chances on the back nine. So obviously I was hoping for a better
:54:05. > :54:09.round, but two over in these conditions is not too bad. You have
:54:10. > :54:15.good form around this golf course, how much confidence do you go into
:54:16. > :54:21.tomorrow with? Yes, I'm thinking I am in a really good position, after
:54:22. > :54:26.today especially. Hopefully this was my bad round out of the way. I still
:54:27. > :54:31.feel like I'm hitting the ball nicely, chipping and putting nicely
:54:32. > :54:36.so it's all there. It's a matter of going out tomorrow and being focused
:54:37. > :54:38.all the way, and let's see what happens. I wish you all the best,
:54:39. > :55:37.thank you. Thank you. It was an interesting if not
:55:38. > :55:42.sensational Saturday at Wentworth but it has set us up nicely for
:55:43. > :55:46.Sunday. 20 players perhaps, even more, with a chance of lifting the
:55:47. > :55:51.title combo close of play. There's always a lot of pressure on the
:55:52. > :55:57.short game down the final stretch so we sent Ken out to have a close-up
:55:58. > :56:02.look at the VCD surfaces. I'm on the 16th green and all of the greens on
:56:03. > :56:06.the golf course have been redone. Everyone who has watched the Chelsea
:56:07. > :56:10.Flower Show saw miraculous horticulture but here, this is
:56:11. > :56:16.amazing. Six months ago there wasn't a blade of grass on this place. It's
:56:17. > :56:22.fantastic. I'm going to give you an idea of how the greens are
:56:23. > :56:29.constructed. This is a root zone, a mixture of Pete . Then there is a
:56:30. > :56:37.gravel level. The miraculous thing is this the system which allows you
:56:38. > :56:44.to suck air and get the moisture out, almost blow air in. That allows
:56:45. > :56:47.you to get the air in and the grass will grow quicker than it would in
:56:48. > :56:55.the winter. Let's have a look at this grass. Can you believe it? It
:56:56. > :57:04.has been cut down to... They reckon it is three millimetres long. Scuffs
:57:05. > :57:12.and Marks and yet it is still a perfect surface. Amazing. Let's see
:57:13. > :57:20.- it has only been down six months - how the ball rolls on the greens. I
:57:21. > :57:27.have not seen one of bubble this week. Let's watch, it just hugs the
:57:28. > :57:33.ground all the way. Amazing when you think six months ago there wasn't a
:57:34. > :57:36.blade of grass. It is amazing actually just how good this golf
:57:37. > :57:41.course is looking this week, and with all hanging in the balance,
:57:42. > :57:47.here is who we will be concentrating on, on this final day. Bradley
:57:48. > :57:53.Dredge does last European Tour came back in 2006, he had Henrik Stenson
:57:54. > :57:58.for company. The Swede looking for a first win on British soil since
:57:59. > :58:01.lifting the Claret Jug. Shane Lowry from Ireland loves this course and
:58:02. > :58:10.he's out with the man who went lowest yesterday, world number 58,
:58:11. > :58:17.Tanihara. Not many know the place as well as these two. Lee Westwood
:58:18. > :58:22.boasts two runner-up finishes at the event. And there is a southern
:58:23. > :58:31.hemisphere look to the final pairing.
:58:32. > :58:40.Kieffer started the day at 3-under par. He had this birdie putt on the
:58:41. > :58:55.first. Well judged, that would drop. He moved to four under par. The --
:58:56. > :59:03.Burmester with a birdie would go under par. Some good rounds being
:59:04. > :59:07.put together out on the cause. Alex Noren 3-under today, four under for
:59:08. > :59:17.the tournament but look at South Africa's Dean Burmester. Let's get
:59:18. > :59:21.out on the course with your commentary team, Ken Brown and
:59:22. > :59:26.Andrew Cotter. Dean Burmester has been having a
:59:27. > :59:31.great round, scored far better today than yesterday. Rolls it in, he has
:59:32. > :59:36.been doing that throughout his round. The South African keeps a
:59:37. > :59:42.bogey off the card, 6-under for his round today. Alex Noren at the 7th,
:59:43. > :59:47.going along nicely. And much more pleasant day than yesterday, a nice
:59:48. > :00:00.breeze and far more red figures and less blues. 5-under for his opening
:00:01. > :00:11.seven holes. Very nice, Alex. Chris Wood, defending champion playing his
:00:12. > :00:24.71st hole. It runs away. This could be very close. Delightfully judged.
:00:25. > :00:34.The second hole and a very popular group, Tyrrell Hatton and Andrew
:00:35. > :00:40.Johnston. Tyrrell Hatton rolls it in. And you can hear that support.
:00:41. > :01:01.Moving to 4-under. Alexander Noren, the pin back left
:01:02. > :01:11.to the eighth and he has played that nicely. Beautifully done. So close
:01:12. > :01:29.to the water. Dean Burmester has reached the 14th. Playing 166 today.
:01:30. > :01:40.That will roll back a little bit. A chance to get to 7-under for the
:01:41. > :01:49.round. 6-under for the Championship. Alexander Noren at the 8th. Four
:01:50. > :01:55.times a winner last season on the European Tour. And that is a super
:01:56. > :02:16.way to start. He will be thinking, I have a chance now. Joost Luiten from
:02:17. > :02:33.Holland. This looks pretty good. He's going to get a mighty cheer.
:02:34. > :02:40.Very nice. Tyrrell Hatton. No. Gather yourself together, going
:02:41. > :03:01.along very steadily. Back where he started. 3-under.
:03:02. > :03:06.Henrik Stenson opening up this pin. It lands softly, one of the best
:03:07. > :03:15.we've seen from Henrik Stenson. A chance for his first birdie of the
:03:16. > :03:24.day. Dean Burmester. A little left to right, this is to get to 6-under.
:03:25. > :03:32.He has done it. A brilliant putt. Par fives to come and he is a mighty
:03:33. > :03:36.long hitter. Henrik Stenson after that splendid tee shot at the 2nd.
:03:37. > :04:06.He has done it. A cracking start. At the 2nd for a par, he has hit
:04:07. > :04:17.that too hard. Bradley Dredge. Sandy is a day of twitching and what might
:04:18. > :04:36.have been, what could have been. Dean Burmester. At the 15th. Third
:04:37. > :04:45.shot. Maybe driving in the ditch, that to save his par. An interesting
:04:46. > :04:54.stance. Chris Wood just finishing his round. Finished with a 71. He's
:04:55. > :04:59.on plus two. The leaders still to go out, the final pair. But look how
:05:00. > :05:04.Dean Burmester has come up the leaderboard. He has come from
:05:05. > :05:16.nowhere. If he can finish with a run of four is, at about 9-under, he
:05:17. > :05:27.could put the frighteners on them. The big curling putt from right to
:05:28. > :05:33.left. This for a par at the 15th. A tough par-4 and he will drop at
:05:34. > :05:42.least one. Same direction as Roche Fisher
:05:43. > :05:46.Ballyronan, Shane Lowry. He has done it. A couple of fantastic putts to
:05:47. > :06:06.start. 5-under. This is huge for Dean Burmester and
:06:07. > :06:21.he has done it. The momentum broken a little but he could easily reach
:06:22. > :06:27.this. The last pair. And we could have
:06:28. > :06:32.some good stuff going on this afternoon, the weather is good, the
:06:33. > :06:36.course in very good condition and we have some good golfers here. I
:06:37. > :06:45.wonder how they will plot their way around. Taking the driver. Could end
:06:46. > :06:56.up in trouble or down the hill or in a funny lie. Should stand the hill.
:06:57. > :07:06.-- shoots down the hill. The leader Andrew Dodt. He has been around a
:07:07. > :07:13.few years. This would be a big win for him. You do not see too many
:07:14. > :07:17.down the left of this fairway. They're going down the right and
:07:18. > :07:29.down the hill, the rough is pretty thick. A bit of room down the left.
:07:30. > :07:40.Can he find it? No, he goes down the right as well.
:07:41. > :07:50.The open champion Henrik Stenson at the 3rd. Second shot. This newly
:07:51. > :07:55.shaped green. It has been quite controversial over the years. But
:07:56. > :08:03.not when you hit them like that, it makes it look easy. Lovely shot.
:08:04. > :08:07.Beware Henrik Stenson. They've demolished this tee at the 2nd, it
:08:08. > :08:23.was pristine on Tuesday and look at it now. And another one. I think he
:08:24. > :08:29.fancies it. A little beauty. Henrik Stenson for birdie at the
:08:30. > :08:42.3rd. Smoothly back and straight in. Yes. What a delightful start to his
:08:43. > :08:59.round. Lee Westwood, it has got to turn.
:09:00. > :09:08.Oh, my goodness. I cannot believe it did not image just a fraction to the
:09:09. > :09:13.right. That was unlucky. Always tricky to know just how deep and how
:09:14. > :09:19.soft and how receptive this sound is. But this is fairly
:09:20. > :09:26.straightforward, aiming right of the flag, let it come down gently. He
:09:27. > :09:37.did not aim it right enough. Only seven out of ten for that. Graeme
:09:38. > :09:46.Storm, a regular feature on the European Tour for many years. Just
:09:47. > :09:54.tickled one in. Up and down career. When he is playing well it all looks
:09:55. > :09:58.easy. A bit of work to be done here, Kenneth, probably eight feet if it
:09:59. > :10:03.is an inch. Bound to be a little bit nervy. Just up the right-hand side,
:10:04. > :10:11.the pace is important. Not hard enough. It was always going to be
:10:12. > :10:22.left of centre. Ten yards to far right. Niggardly thoughts away to
:10:23. > :10:27.the second. The quality of the grass looks stunning. I cannot believe
:10:28. > :10:34.that it was seeded, to grow like that in 18 months is amazing.
:10:35. > :10:41.Branden Grace gets his four. They are level going to the second tee.
:10:42. > :10:48.17 holes to go. It will be interesting. Tyrrell
:10:49. > :11:02.Hatton. Flips it up. Would you believe it. Will that bring a smile
:11:03. > :11:08.to his face? Come along. Can Branden Grace read this part? Just inside
:11:09. > :11:19.the right edge you would have thought. This is to 8-under. He has
:11:20. > :11:34.read that perfectly. He knows that he can see the winners enclosure.
:11:35. > :11:47.Francesco Molinari to save his par. So reliable this week. Steady on the
:11:48. > :11:54.greens. But a couple of opening misses from very short range. Early
:11:55. > :12:02.on in the last round of Edinburgh have a clear leader in Branden
:12:03. > :12:10.Grace. One ahead of Andrew Dodt. Alexander Bjork and 66. I wonder
:12:11. > :12:14.where he will be at the end of play today. And Nicolas Colsaerts roaring
:12:15. > :12:26.up the leaderboard. Not 1 million miles behind.
:12:27. > :12:43.Henrik Stenson for his birdie at the 4th. Posted down to here, a hushed
:12:44. > :12:55.crowd. A perfect way to start. Birdie, birdie, birdie. The Iceman
:12:56. > :13:03.is on the move. The third shot from Andrew Dodt, 3rd
:13:04. > :13:14.hole. A few levels to combat. What a beauty. What a beauty! They do
:13:15. > :13:20.happen sometimes and you do not know why. There is a classic example of a
:13:21. > :13:29.very difficult shot, desperately hoping to get down in two and he
:13:30. > :13:37.does it in one. Shane Lowry. At the 4th. A bit
:13:38. > :13:43.wayward with his second and flips it up and look at that. How do they do
:13:44. > :13:53.that! I do not think they really know. Alex Noren. The first of three
:13:54. > :14:07.par fives on the back nine. He makes a timely birdie four.
:14:08. > :14:17.Joining the group at 6-under. Shane Lowry. Right into the heart of the
:14:18. > :14:25.cup and he joins Alex Noren currently in fourth position.
:14:26. > :14:39.Nicolas Colsaerts. Second to the 12th. A massive tee shot. The par-5.
:14:40. > :14:54.That is absolutely stunning. That is a dandy. Eagle chance. Shane Lowry
:14:55. > :15:02.for a two at the 5th. Oh, yes. Went in at a lovely speed. Really getting
:15:03. > :15:09.to grips with the course now. A few days of practice. They are rattling
:15:10. > :15:16.them in. Nicolas Colsaerts for an eagle at the 12th. And he has done
:15:17. > :15:28.it. Well done. He has had a bad run lately. 31 out. Five, six, 7-under
:15:29. > :15:36.fours in old money. Dean Burmester looking to finish with a four. And
:15:37. > :15:46.he has. He has rolled another one in. What around overall. 65. The
:15:47. > :15:54.lowest of the week by a distance. 7-under for the day, 6-under for the
:15:55. > :16:02.tournament. Now Andrew Dodt a bit of green to play with here. He could
:16:03. > :16:19.fly it pretty far if he wanted to. Left to right movement on it. No,
:16:20. > :16:27.come down a little bit. A nice lie here, not the hardest chip in the
:16:28. > :16:43.world. Should run out. That for his birdie. And Francesco Molinari, a
:16:44. > :16:47.little pitch. Hit it again unlucky it did not drop but more fortunate
:16:48. > :16:54.that the pin doctorate in its tracks. That was going a good five
:16:55. > :17:04.feet past. -- the pin stopped it in its tracks. Andrew Dodt for the
:17:05. > :17:06.birdie. And for the outright lead. After dropping a shot of the first
:17:07. > :17:19.he moves to 9-under. On his own again. Grace to follow Andrew Dodt
:17:20. > :17:22.in for his four. And there we are. Andrew Dodt on a zone for just a
:17:23. > :17:33.couple of moments and Branden Grace back alongside him at 9-under par.
:17:34. > :17:38.Alex Noren, his hands are low, a forward press well down the grid.
:17:39. > :17:46.That is where he needs to put it. And he has it. Alex Noren now three
:17:47. > :17:54.birdies in a row, his seventh in total. 7-under for the round, one
:17:55. > :18:09.behind. Henrik Stenson down the left side of the seventh. Not a bad line
:18:10. > :18:21.to attack this pin. Going with the elevation. That is a fantastic shot.
:18:22. > :18:31.Drops softly. This awkward pin. 8.5 out of ten in the rough.
:18:32. > :18:37.It is left to right but how much, it is a subtle one. Most people miss it
:18:38. > :18:45.on the right but not this, right into the centre of the cup. Well
:18:46. > :18:50.done Shane Lowry, three in a row. The Irish are loving it. What a
:18:51. > :18:59.difference in the scoring today compared with yesterday. So many red
:19:00. > :19:06.figures. Plenty of birdies. Alex Noren and Shane Lowry one behind.
:19:07. > :19:13.Henrik Stenson at 7-under par. Matthew Fitzpatrick to move to
:19:14. > :19:23.5-under. Graeme Storm. A chance to lay one up
:19:24. > :19:30.close. That was as close as you can get. Write down the gully.
:19:31. > :19:39.Excellent. So important those little lucky ones, a bit of good fortune
:19:40. > :19:47.keeps the momentum going. All eyes on Henrik Stenson to get within one.
:19:48. > :20:02.The open champion is on a charge. Fantastic stuff.
:20:03. > :20:10.Over that beautiful tree, Shane Lowry. He needed some luck and he
:20:11. > :20:18.some. Will it stay up? Oh, my goodness. That is the luck of the
:20:19. > :20:29.Irish. Justin Rose. Did not have to hit
:20:30. > :20:39.that very hard. Birdie putt. 4-under for the day and for the tournament.
:20:40. > :20:47.One to go. Can Shane Lowry make the most of his
:20:48. > :21:01.luck? He's keeping up that pace. What other three. He joins the
:21:02. > :21:16.leaders. No wonder he's smiling. Alex Noren. 8-under par. Look at the
:21:17. > :21:28.size of his divot. Not one of his best.
:21:29. > :21:36.Nicolas Colsaerts up the slope, this should be makeable. It wriggles in
:21:37. > :21:45.the side door. 7-under for Nicolas Colsaerts. A card of many colours.
:21:46. > :21:50.So for birdies in a row has Shane Lowry in a 3-way tie from the lead
:21:51. > :21:54.of dashed alongside Andrew Dodt and Branden Grace. Alex Noren and Henrik
:21:55. > :22:12.Stenson just a shot further back. Graeme Storm second to the 11th. Has
:22:13. > :22:31.to dig it out of the hay. Come round. A good recovery.
:22:32. > :22:45.Lee Westwood. This for a bogey. Double bogey in the seventh. A sabre
:22:46. > :23:02.to the heart. Alex Noren. He has done it! What apart from Alex Noren.
:23:03. > :23:13.Co-leader at 9-under par. Graeme Storm just down the slope at the
:23:14. > :23:18.11th. Right in the middle. From the thick rough down the left-hand side
:23:19. > :23:27.it is a birdie four Graeme Storm. Fourth of the day. Now at 7-under.
:23:28. > :23:31.Again the lightest of touches for Hideto Tanihara. And he has it. For
:23:32. > :23:41.birdies in five holes. He moves to 8-under. Justin Rose at the final
:23:42. > :23:45.hole, not the best of weeks for him but a nice day today. Beautiful putt
:23:46. > :23:51.on the last green and this is not looking too bad if it keeps coming.
:23:52. > :23:56.It is running out of steam but beautifully done just the same and
:23:57. > :24:03.finished with a nice round. His home club where he learned to play only
:24:04. > :24:09.about five miles from here. I'm sure they're pleased to see him at home
:24:10. > :24:12.this week. A couple of nice final rounds. Francesco Molinari at the
:24:13. > :24:34.8th. That could go down the hill nicely.
:24:35. > :24:46.Henrik Stenson for his part on the ninth. To keep the momentum going.
:24:47. > :24:54.The fairway bunker down the left. That could be costly. Now a couple
:24:55. > :24:59.behind and still a long way to go. Francesco Molinari, beautiful second
:25:00. > :25:05.shot in here. It is quick and he has it. Playing alongside Lee Westwood,
:25:06. > :25:16.both failing to fire at the moment but Francesco Molinari going again.
:25:17. > :25:25.6-under. Alex Noren. Got his second to hear having driven in the rough.
:25:26. > :25:31.A bit of a heavy line. That could be OK if it keeps coming. A tricky putt
:25:32. > :25:42.from there. Big swing from the left immediately in front of the ball.
:25:43. > :25:53.Now Shane Lowry. This is to stay 9-under and he has done it.
:25:54. > :25:59.Look at all those red members. Out in 30. That is for below his
:26:00. > :26:07.handicap. Two putts would be good. Do not be too hasty. That should
:26:08. > :26:25.drift away. It is trying to get back and that was very well judged.
:26:26. > :26:32.Graeme Storm at the 12th. He has judged that very well indeed. That
:26:33. > :26:40.for his birdie. And a chance to get within one of the lead. Alex Noren
:26:41. > :26:55.at 18. Second shot and he is having a crack at it. And he has cleared it
:26:56. > :27:06.magnificently. Oh, my word. If he holds that one...
:27:07. > :27:22.A very nice up and down four Graeme Storm. And he has it. Birdie number
:27:23. > :27:34.five today. And now within one. On the tenth, Hideto Tanihara. His
:27:35. > :27:44.tee shot. Always a danger down to the right of the green. You see how
:27:45. > :27:49.firm these greens are. And we took a look at that firmness earlier. One
:27:50. > :27:51.of the things that has been notable is how hard the ball has been
:27:52. > :27:57.bouncing on the greens and that is because when you first plant grass
:27:58. > :28:03.you have the blades which send out one full route. As time goes by the
:28:04. > :28:08.blades are separate and the separate and it develops a thing that they
:28:09. > :28:12.call Thatch underneath the surface. Let's see how soft this green is.
:28:13. > :28:18.When you stick something in it is not all that hard at all. Let's try
:28:19. > :28:22.it here, we have a spike and let's see how it goes in. I tell you what,
:28:23. > :28:27.after some twiddling through the service you can push it right in and
:28:28. > :28:32.it is like going into putter. So it is just the top that is a bit
:28:33. > :28:37.crusty. And this is how it works. If you have got a bit of batch which
:28:38. > :28:42.develops over six months, you just want the right amount to give it a
:28:43. > :28:47.bit of give. It is a bit like this, this is the putting surface with
:28:48. > :28:52.that bit of soft organic material just beneath the surface. The ball
:28:53. > :28:59.just lands a little softer. Just landing clean on the root zone and
:29:00. > :29:05.tends to ping away. Like one of those old Open University lectures
:29:06. > :29:14.on television! What apart this is for Alex Noren. The course record,
:29:15. > :29:41.he's likely to match it. What a round of golf from Alex
:29:42. > :29:49.Noren. 62 blows, fantastic score. That could well be worthy of
:29:50. > :29:59.victory. He equals the course record. That could bring victory on
:30:00. > :30:09.the PGA Championship. I might have kept that ball for the trophy
:30:10. > :30:19.cabinet! Up to the others now to try to hunt
:30:20. > :30:24.down on the back nine. Henrik Stenson was within five or
:30:25. > :30:34.six feet of the hole at one point, spun it back to here. Needs to get
:30:35. > :30:42.going again. That deserves a three and he has got it. Well done. He
:30:43. > :30:47.deserved that. Beautiful second shot. Do not rule out this fella
:30:48. > :30:53.yet. Three or four of them could do it. Henrik Stenson is one of those
:30:54. > :30:58.chasing down his fellow countrymen Alex Noren who's out in front
:30:59. > :31:00.courtesy of that 62. Aid birdies and an eagle. Looking for this prize.
:31:01. > :31:08.Can he hang on? You must be delighted with how you
:31:09. > :31:18.played and it seemed everything was working for you? Yes, it's one of
:31:19. > :31:24.those days, probably I will never have again. It was just a nice start
:31:25. > :31:30.and a nice finish, and I finished so badly yesterday I was angry all
:31:31. > :31:36.evening. I came out this morning, had a good start, that's forgotten,
:31:37. > :31:42.so it was a very nice day. He set a good clubhouse lead, in just before
:31:43. > :31:48.the rain is scheduled to start, so is it now a nervy wait to see if
:31:49. > :31:52.you've done enough today? Definitely, the last seven holes or
:31:53. > :31:55.nine holes could go either way and there's of birdies out there but you
:31:56. > :31:59.have got to hit the fairways and fairways and greens and it is a
:32:00. > :32:05.little tricky. Especially 17, 18, you can make like I did on the 18th
:32:06. > :32:11.there's a good chance but some of guys do it so if it goes well it
:32:12. > :32:19.goes well, but I am more happy with the round, if somebody beats me
:32:20. > :32:24.that's it, tough luck. Whatever happens at the end of today, how do
:32:25. > :32:30.you reflect on the four days as a whole? Good, I felt all right coming
:32:31. > :32:35.in. This was the best putting week I've had this whole year and I
:32:36. > :32:41.worked harder on that this week than previous weeks because it has kind
:32:42. > :32:48.of been my strength and maybe I have worked too hard on my weaknesses and
:32:49. > :32:50.forgot about the putting this week. There was a lot of luck involved as
:32:51. > :33:00.well so I am very happy. Storm, this is to drop just one.
:33:01. > :33:26.Damage limitation on the 14th for Storm. . Stenson, eagle
:33:27. > :33:35.putt at the 12th. He's usually pretty good at putts of this length.
:33:36. > :33:49.He usually frightens the hole the doesn't get them in. It's a birdie.
:33:50. > :34:07.Nicolas Colsaerts at the 18th for an eagle. Looks good, and by golly it
:34:08. > :34:18.is. What a wonderful way to finish. 65, well played.
:34:19. > :34:27.Tanihara, second. Quite a long way back. Coming round, the green leads
:34:28. > :34:34.to the bunker. That is pretty good. Might run on just off the table top.
:34:35. > :34:59.Good shot from Tanihara. Eagle shot to come. Par putt. Andrew God. --
:35:00. > :35:10.Dodt. No. Slipping away. Tanihara, eagle putt on the 12th. He will join
:35:11. > :35:21.that group of 9-under. Stenson, can he save par on the 13th? It's a big
:35:22. > :35:28.putt. Suddenly he will find himself three behind Alex Noren with five to
:35:29. > :35:31.play. Even on the last few holes of Wentworth, which can give you
:35:32. > :35:58.something back that's a big ask. Molinari's third. An extremely
:35:59. > :36:04.birdieable 12th. Very little swerve on his iron. A touch of
:36:05. > :36:15.left-to-right frayed. The rain continues to fall. Alex Noren is
:36:16. > :36:17.safe and dry after his 62. Canon Grace find the birdies on the final
:36:18. > :36:28.hole to catch the Swede? A bit of moisture on the greens now
:36:29. > :36:31.slows them down a fraction, takes a little break out of the putts, and a
:36:32. > :36:41.lovely birdie there for Molinari? 7-under par. In the ditch, let's see
:36:42. > :37:13.how he is lying. Stenson, from down in the bunker,
:37:14. > :37:19.short of the 14th. Very nearly. Here we go, Ken, he's going to splash
:37:20. > :37:27.out. Virtually sideways. Oh dear, hit the stone. That was the risk out
:37:28. > :37:39.of it. He won't be trying again so he will take the drop, playing four.
:37:40. > :37:46.Alex Noren's score of 11-under forced him to play the shot. There
:37:47. > :37:57.were stones under there, he was expecting water. So
:37:58. > :38:14.now Branden Grace has dropped, he's playing four. This has to be good.
:38:15. > :38:26.Down in the sand, he will be playing up and down for a bogey. His chances
:38:27. > :38:36.are slipping away on the 12th. Lowry, that's an 8-iron. And a good
:38:37. > :38:49.one. Go back, go back. The greens are softening, but still very good
:38:50. > :38:54.from Lowry. That to get to 10-under. Lovely lie in the bunker for Branden
:38:55. > :39:04.Grace. If he wants to hole this, he needs to get it running. Oh, mighty
:39:05. > :39:10.fine effort. Nearly a par. Can he read this putt? Got to be a bit of
:39:11. > :39:17.left-to-right movement on it. Lowry to get within one. Shane... There's
:39:18. > :39:27.a glass ceiling stopping these players at the moment getting any
:39:28. > :39:29.closer to Noren. Grace for his bogey six and you feel if he misses it the
:39:30. > :39:50.opportunity to win is virtually nil. We have had six equals on it. Took a
:39:51. > :40:08.gamble out of the ditch, and it's the wrong sort of double.
:40:09. > :40:23.Where is this one going? It's a quick hook down the left, it's gone
:40:24. > :40:30.awfully quiet. And he's grabbing for another ball in his bag. Stenson,
:40:31. > :40:37.8-under. If he's going to have any chance of catching Noren, it has got
:40:38. > :40:52.to go in. So a stroke going there at the 15th for him. Still a long iron
:40:53. > :40:57.in for Tanihara. A few gasps and groans, and that is way right. I
:40:58. > :41:02.thought the challenge to Noren might come from this group but they were
:41:03. > :41:08.imploding on the 15th, Tanihara and Lowry. The fourth shot having gone
:41:09. > :41:20.out of bounds with his tee shot at the 15th, Shane Lowry. Pretty darn
:41:21. > :41:31.good. He will have that for his bogey.
:41:32. > :41:57.Now Andrew Dodt with a little pitch. That will be par for Dodt. He and
:41:58. > :41:58.his playing partner, Grace, have both stalled badly. And Alex Noren
:41:59. > :42:12.will be watching keenly. That's a beautifully played shot
:42:13. > :42:20.from there. Coming down down down, it should... Just a yard or so more.
:42:21. > :42:27.And after that wonderful round of 62, Alex Noren spending a little
:42:28. > :42:32.time with the Young fans. Nice to see proper autograph books. How
:42:33. > :42:37.lovely. A number of players doing their best to make sure Alex Noren
:42:38. > :42:49.is the champion at Wentworth and here is one of them, Lowry at the
:42:50. > :43:00.15th. A pretty good effort, but I'm afraid costly.
:43:01. > :43:15.A couple of shots blown away, along with a few others.
:43:16. > :43:24.Tanihara also struggling on this 15th hole. That looks good but not
:43:25. > :43:33.good enough, and he too drops back. So what the turnout the books. Alex
:43:34. > :43:36.Noren had a spectacular round of 62, shooting up the table, and he's
:43:37. > :43:44.leading the way and others are making it easier for him to be the
:43:45. > :43:47.winner. Sad to see shots being dropped, but over the closing three
:43:48. > :43:59.holes here at Wentworth, much can happen and has over the years, so
:44:00. > :44:06.hold your breath. Dodt's second shot. It looks like it's absolutely
:44:07. > :44:18.buried. The sand has only recently been put in. That was a smelly lie.
:44:19. > :44:23.Storm. At the 18th. This to go to 7-under and get a nice prize. Well
:44:24. > :44:39.done, very nice prize indeed and a good round. 68, two bogeys. The
:44:40. > :44:43.great year last year, won three times on the European Tour. When he
:44:44. > :44:53.gets going his very hot indeed. Looking perhaps at victory number
:44:54. > :44:58.nine. Par-3, the third shot... He has got that one a little bit crisp
:44:59. > :45:07.too. I thought we were going to see a firework display but it has gone
:45:08. > :45:32.out. Tanihara's second shot to the 16th. But you -- Up you come. Not
:45:33. > :45:40.bad. Dodt... Chipped up, my goodness. The double bogey five,
:45:41. > :45:42.that was cruel. With a join almost prize fund, you are just throwing
:45:43. > :46:01.money away. Johnson at the 18th. That looks well done. Exceedingly
:46:02. > :46:17.well done. Always leave them wanting more, Beef. Keep off the chips and
:46:18. > :46:25.we will be all right. Tanihara for a birdie at the 16th, this to take him
:46:26. > :46:31.to 9-under. If he had hit it, it was there. Maybe it's the thought of the
:46:32. > :46:45.950,000 quid first prize that has upset a few. Now here is Stenson's
:46:46. > :46:53.third shot at the 17th. Drove into the rough on the right. And that is
:46:54. > :46:59.short. No it's not, I tell a lie. Not bad. Unusual looking putting
:47:00. > :47:17.action for Grace, different grip. His 15th has caused some problems in
:47:18. > :47:22.the last couple of hours, Ken. Yes, there's been plenty of bogeys, by
:47:23. > :47:28.far the hardest hole on the course. A few in the last hour or so looks
:47:29. > :47:38.like they would find the bottom of the cup. Another chance at the 16th
:47:39. > :47:44.for Henrik Stenson. Just seemed to lose the pace of the greens when the
:47:45. > :47:48.rain came down a fraction. Alex Noren sitting in the players lounge
:47:49. > :47:53.watching the TV screens, wondering how it's going to work out, but
:47:54. > :48:04.every minute that six by it is looking better. They are looking for
:48:05. > :48:12.another bit of magic here. You can see why he was trying to land it in
:48:13. > :48:25.the fringe. The gain, Shane, there's a lot of money at stake. Here is
:48:26. > :48:34.Tyrrell half -- Hatton. He's got this putt for an eagle at the last.
:48:35. > :48:39.That's finishing with a birdie, so we might see this ball dispatched
:48:40. > :49:01.into the water or somewhere. Just be ready, get ready to duck. Oh! How
:49:02. > :49:13.gentle. 74 with an eight. Just to drop the 1-stroke... He has pushed
:49:14. > :49:17.it. Seven. A little unlucky with his tee shot, which just hit the persons
:49:18. > :49:24.like as it was kicking onto the fairway and stayed behind the trees.
:49:25. > :49:34.It's a double bogey, par, double bogey, and drops back to 5-under. On
:49:35. > :49:46.the fourth, and Alex Noren summing up his round. Down the little tier.
:49:47. > :49:51.Started with a birdie at the 1st and second, another birdie at the 4th.
:49:52. > :50:15.Boom, right in the back of the cut. Pars at the eighth and ninth.
:50:16. > :50:35.Another birdie... Even brought the sunshine out.
:50:36. > :50:53.At 16, this was a little Bruce the -- Brucie bonus, another birdie on
:50:54. > :51:02.the card. After cracking tee-shot... This is what you call Watson
:51:03. > :51:07.special. Do you remember, Peter? I certainly do, smashing shot. Earlier
:51:08. > :51:13.he would not have been thinking about possible victory, then things
:51:14. > :51:20.happen, others fade away. Finishes with an eagle three. The crowd go
:51:21. > :51:35.potty and at this moment you think I've got a good prize here. Lo and
:51:36. > :51:40.behold. 31, 31, 62, it equals the course record. Superb. Wonderful
:51:41. > :51:45.round of golf. It truly was a quite remarkable
:51:46. > :51:50.round of golf from Alex Noren. Fellow Swede Henrik Stenson had this
:51:51. > :52:00.putt to finish with a birdie on the 18th and it would go, and he would
:52:01. > :52:10.finish on 8-under par. Shane Lowry with his second shot to the par-5
:52:11. > :52:18.18th. It looked good, and it was good. That would leave him a putt to
:52:19. > :52:23.finish with an eagle. And after a double bogey on the 17th, this putt
:52:24. > :52:28.would go to make amends a little bit. Finish with an eagle, and he
:52:29. > :52:40.would finish the tournament on 7-under par. Japan's Tanihara had an
:52:41. > :52:45.excellent day around the west Coast yesterday. It wasn't quite going as
:52:46. > :52:49.well for him today, that putt summing up his round but he would
:52:50. > :53:01.knock that in for a par and a respectable finish of 8-under. The
:53:02. > :53:07.birdie from Francesco Molinari on the 17th meant he needed this birdie
:53:08. > :53:12.putt for alt-right second place, and in it would go. 9-under par for
:53:13. > :53:19.Francesco Molinari, he would finish two behind Noren. He was sixth in
:53:20. > :53:24.2008 but confirmation this year Alex Noren has become the first Swede to
:53:25. > :53:29.win the BMW PGA Championship, and he did it in some style. A course
:53:30. > :53:35.record equalling 62, also equalling the largest come back in this event,
:53:36. > :53:40.starting the final day seven shots behind. Francesco Molinari with that
:53:41. > :53:45.birdie on the 18th took out right second on 9-under, just ahead of a
:53:46. > :53:53.group that included open champion Henrik Stenson. I'm joined now by
:53:54. > :53:57.the European Tour chief executive, and Alex Noren. Before we hand over
:53:58. > :54:01.the trophy, Ian you must be delighted with another great week
:54:02. > :54:05.here, although it is a little bit wet now. I thought we were going to
:54:06. > :54:12.get away with the weather, British weather always comes in, but to hand
:54:13. > :54:17.the trophy to such a valiant winner. The number on the day, great crowds
:54:18. > :54:21.of 109,000 over the tournament, we are delighted. I will let you hand
:54:22. > :54:29.over the trophy. Congratulations, Alex Noren. Congratulations. It's a
:54:30. > :54:35.heavy one, there's some big winners on there! Alex, how delighted are
:54:36. > :54:40.you to be holding this? Your fifth in the space of the year but how
:54:41. > :54:44.much does this one mean? I feel extremely happy. I have had trouble
:54:45. > :54:49.on this course, I have made the tournament too big in my mind to
:54:50. > :54:56.come close to win and to pull it off is amazing. It is weird to wait when
:54:57. > :55:02.the guys are having nine holes to go, very weird. Seven shots back at
:55:03. > :55:08.the start today, what were your expectations coming in? Was 62 in
:55:09. > :55:12.your mind? Not at all I just wanted to play a good round of golf,
:55:13. > :55:17.because I played pretty well the first three days and a bad finish
:55:18. > :55:21.yesterday. I was very angry coming off the golf course. Just try to get
:55:22. > :55:28.a good round and get some momentum going. It is a big event. Every
:55:29. > :55:33.point counts and that was my thought in the beginning. Then I holed a lot
:55:34. > :55:38.of good putts. I thought I could post a good round and see what
:55:39. > :55:42.happens. But you still had to wait to find out if you would get your
:55:43. > :55:46.hands on the trophy. What is it like sitting in the players' lounge
:55:47. > :55:53.watching the golfers come through? Very weird, especially when some of
:55:54. > :55:56.your players say it is done, but it was a very weird one. I remember
:55:57. > :56:01.sitting in the players' lounge in the past, you know when the other
:56:02. > :56:06.guys haven't teed off and I'm finished with my last round. I said
:56:07. > :56:10.I don't want to be in this position, I would rather tee off now and this
:56:11. > :56:21.time it was opposite. Congratulations on your 62. Your
:56:22. > :56:27.2017 BMW PGA champion, Alex Noren. It really was a sensational round of
:56:28. > :56:30.golf from Alex Noren. Ken Brown with me just now. It was impressive on
:56:31. > :56:38.many levels but what impressed you most about what you saw today? To go
:56:39. > :56:45.out in 31, he just kept going and going, a lovely birdie at the 14th.
:56:46. > :56:51.The 15th, he holed a really good clutch putt, a massive one at 16,
:56:52. > :56:56.and a brilliant second to 18. At 11-under par you thought maybe some
:56:57. > :57:02.challenges. I thought perhaps someone could equal him. The little
:57:03. > :57:05.bit disappointed that challenge didn't equalise? Stenson came out of
:57:06. > :57:09.the traps flying and you thought perhaps it would be his week, but
:57:10. > :57:15.once that score posted the others seemed to back off a little bit.
:57:16. > :57:18.Branden Grace round the ditch at the 13th, they all slightly stumbled and
:57:19. > :57:23.the closing holes proved pretty tough ones that score was posted at
:57:24. > :57:28.11-under. There was a lot said about the changes made to this course, how
:57:29. > :57:33.did you feel it held up over the week? I think it has been
:57:34. > :57:36.outstanding. The course has been presented well. We have the Kaiser
:57:37. > :57:42.Chiefs in the background entertaining the crowds! We have had
:57:43. > :57:47.some wonderful golf, and Alex Noren was a really deserving champion.
:57:48. > :57:51.It's been a tiptop week. It has indeed and there's plenty more sport
:57:52. > :57:56.to come on the BBC. International cricket returns to the BBC this
:57:57. > :58:02.Thursday as England take on Bangladesh at the start of the ICC
:58:03. > :58:08.Trophy. Our next golf is highlights of the Scottish Open in July, the
:58:09. > :58:13.week before the Open Championship. It has been another special week on
:58:14. > :58:17.the West Course. We've had a little bit of everything but there has been
:58:18. > :58:22.one light that shone brightest, a sensational bogey free final round
:58:23. > :58:28.of 62 from Alex Noren. He came from seven shots back to surprise the
:58:29. > :58:33.field and claim his ninth European Tour victory.
