:00:28. > :00:34.The European Tour takes the high road to the Scottish Highlands for

:00:35. > :00:42.the Aberdeen asset Scottish Open. It is a return to Castle Stuart near

:00:43. > :00:47.Inverness, a course that clings to the coastline. It is the fourth

:00:48. > :00:57.visit in the 44 year history of the event and we have come to a course

:00:58. > :01:02.codesigned by the man responsible for Rio's layout this year. With the

:01:03. > :01:07.Open next year, this event is part one of a fabulous fortnight of links

:01:08. > :01:15.golf. Luke Donald, the winner here five years ago, for him it is an

:01:16. > :01:19.ideal tune up. It always creates a strong field a week before the Open

:01:20. > :01:24.and people want to get the feel of a different kind of turf you

:01:25. > :01:32.experience on the coastline in Scotland. It extracts a good field.

:01:33. > :01:43.A lot the guys from the United States come over and may have make

:01:44. > :01:48.it a fun week. Phil Mickelson created a double three years ago and

:01:49. > :01:55.is one of a number of high profile here from the PGA Tour of America. I

:01:56. > :02:01.love it here. This is my, one of my favourite links courses in the UK,

:02:02. > :02:13.but my favourite place to hold a Scottish Open. I love Inverness. The

:02:14. > :02:20.scores we have seen in the past were hard to come by, wild and windy

:02:21. > :02:32.conditions blew away the chances of more, but not that of Alex Noren who

:02:33. > :02:37.led from Lee and Pepperell. He like Matteo Manassero are chasing one of

:02:38. > :02:40.the four Open places on offer. Further back Scotland's Russell Knox

:02:41. > :02:56.and Martin Kaymer six shots adrift. Top In calmer conditions today row

:02:57. > :03:02.man Wattel has the best of the week's. And here is Kim Tom a Phil

:03:03. > :03:10.Yates. COMMENTATOR: It is relatively benign so far. And that means that

:03:11. > :03:15.in the Highlands many are taking the low road around Castle Stuart.

:03:16. > :03:23.Patrick Reed is in line to represent the USA in Rio and celebrated with a

:03:24. > :03:30.golden round. He is 5-under, playing the closing hole. Last week Martin

:03:31. > :03:41.Kaymer challenged at the French Open and he is looking good again. This

:03:42. > :03:46.was for an eagle on the second. The perfect start to the German's round

:03:47. > :03:59.and he followed up on the third by giving himself a birdie chance. That

:04:00. > :04:07.is 3-under today already. 5-under in total. What about Bradley Dredge?

:04:08. > :04:15.Runner up to Rory McIlroy at the Irish Open in May. He is quick out

:04:16. > :04:24.of the blocks with a birdie on the second and an eagle on the third. So

:04:25. > :04:29.with that, dredge climbs to 6-under and the Welshman now shares fourth,

:04:30. > :04:35.only two off the pace set by Alex Noren. The symbol next to a name,

:04:36. > :04:40.denotes they're included for the Open next week with the time places

:04:41. > :04:47.going to the top four finishers here not yet qualified. So plenty to play

:04:48. > :04:54.for and many subplots and only one thing certain - with just four shots

:04:55. > :05:00.covering the top 20 and a low number available, moving day should live up

:05:01. > :05:08.to its day. Kim Thomas, this could be some afternoon? Yes first hole

:05:09. > :05:11.second shot for the 24 from Oxfordshire, Tyrell Hatton. This

:05:12. > :05:17.hole playing easier in the third round. The first two rounds the wind

:05:18. > :05:24.has been straight into the players' faces. Hatton nestling it close.

:05:25. > :05:30.Great start. Four off the pace at the start of the day. Looks like

:05:31. > :05:39.getting a birdie on the first. Andy Sullivan par the first. Second to

:05:40. > :05:46.the par-5 second. Easily reachable with this wind direction. Oh, that

:05:47. > :05:58.is a cracker for the man not just chasing this title, but also Ryder

:05:59. > :06:10.Cup points. It is getting nearer and nearer to that Hazel teen date. A

:06:11. > :06:14.great start. Nowhere else. The forecast for this afternoon isn't so

:06:15. > :06:16.clever. So I think it is a case of making hay while the sun almost

:06:17. > :06:34.shines! No eagle for Sullivan. But pretty

:06:35. > :06:49.much a gimme birdie. Coming to the end of his third round, Patrick Reed

:06:50. > :06:59.A round of 67 for minus 4. Sullivan did tidy up for his birdie on the

:07:00. > :07:05.second. Strides to the third tee and there is a sporty hole, tee board

:07:06. > :07:14.forward, it is playing 286 yards. So reachable. Going down wind off the

:07:15. > :07:20.westerly edge of this course at Castle Stuart. Here for the fourth

:07:21. > :07:28.time in this Aberdeen asset Scottish Open. Eagle chance to come.

:07:29. > :07:43.From one eagle chance to another. Tyrell Hatton loves this Scottish

:07:44. > :07:46.Open. Two years ago he was tied fourth. Then as a rookie pro on the

:07:47. > :08:01.European Tour. The water's pretty still on the

:08:02. > :08:04.Moray Firth and we see Mickelson. The saw grip he is using these days

:08:05. > :08:27.on the putter. Thought he had it. What a presence though in any

:08:28. > :08:31.tournament he plays. A real affinity with links golf, the 2013 Open

:08:32. > :08:40.champion. Loves this part of the world.

:08:41. > :08:52.Sullivan for the eagle on the 3rd. Great tee shot. Gets his just

:08:53. > :08:54.deserts. His caddy, big Sean there, coming in, saying, well done, mate.

:08:55. > :09:14.What a start! Ritchie Ramsey, a couple of weeks

:09:15. > :09:17.ago won a car worth 170,000 euro in Germany. I tell you what, inches

:09:18. > :09:33.away from a hole-in-one on a par-4! Hatton normally very good on these

:09:34. > :09:46.six-footers. For 8-under. Oh he is running hot. Is Tyrell Hatton.

:09:47. > :09:53.A real good look back at this simply striking course. But not a striking

:09:54. > :10:07.tee shot from Eddie Pepperell. The drive not the way you want to

:10:08. > :10:11.start your day, but a really good recovery.

:10:12. > :10:25.Eddie from Oxfordshire. A couple of Oxford lads doing well. Manassero,

:10:26. > :10:31.second to the opening hole. His play has improved so much of late. I

:10:32. > :10:40.can't believe he is 596th on the world rankings. He missed the cut at

:10:41. > :10:45.the Open in Spain. He was 893rd. With his talent that is ludicrous.

:10:46. > :10:54.Sullivan, tester for par. Test not passed. He slips back to minus 6. I

:10:55. > :11:01.have done that before and hit my ankle! Ouch!

:11:02. > :11:11.As it was when he took 7 at the golf National last week in the final

:11:12. > :11:15.round simply burned Ryder Cup points as a result of that triple bogey. He

:11:16. > :11:22.is right in this still. There is plenty of time left. This is the No

:11:23. > :11:29.1 on the challenge Tour from last year. Gouveia, the man from

:11:30. > :11:33.Portugal. 86 on the race to Dubai. One more result from him and he will

:11:34. > :11:38.get his card for next season. He moves to 7-under. At the 7th. Just

:11:39. > :11:56.one off the lead. Overnight leader, Noren, with the

:11:57. > :12:03.big stick on the first. They all say shot. I don't want to be a harbinger

:12:04. > :12:08.of doom, but in terms of half way leaders in this tournament, the last

:12:09. > :12:15.one to lift the trophy was Gregory Havret back in 2007.

:12:16. > :12:23.Self-confessed practice junkie is Alex Noren. There is the

:12:24. > :12:29.leaderboard, an indication of how tight things have become with

:12:30. > :12:33.Hatton, Pepperell, after a birdie on the first, joining Noren at the top.

:12:34. > :12:43.Look at that - only two shots separating the top eleven players.

:12:44. > :12:49.Danny Lee, the 25-year-old, Korean born New Zealander, the ball below

:12:50. > :12:53.his feet. After a good drive. Can he get it close? There is your answer -

:12:54. > :13:18.straight at it. Perfect line, perfect angle of

:13:19. > :13:24.attack for Noren. Always applies lots of spin to the ball. On these

:13:25. > :13:32.receptive greens for a links course, he has been prospering.

:13:33. > :13:42.Hatton, another birdie chance. Oh, just overcooked it. But the right

:13:43. > :13:46.side of the hole. 4-under after three holes today.

:13:47. > :13:56.Here is a man who played one of great links round in Scotland at the

:13:57. > :14:03.2012 Championship, Branden Grace. A round of 60 it was. Has to be

:14:04. > :14:07.regarded as one of the favourites. And now only two back. A big

:14:08. > :14:10.occasion player. He certainly is. I remember talking to him after that

:14:11. > :14:19.round and he said he left a couple of shots out there. Amazing. Lee for

:14:20. > :14:30.the perfect start. No. ? Just a misread. Good pace.

:14:31. > :14:42.Noren has briefly been caught at the top. And doesn't break the tie. Only

:14:43. > :14:54.a par. No doubt a source of frustration. Great opportunity that.

:14:55. > :15:03.Tried to emulate Parnevik, as a Swedish winner of the Scottish Open.

:15:04. > :15:09.Padraig Harrington has had a good start. Here is his tee shot on the

:15:10. > :15:11.4th. Delightful par-4 with Castle Stuart in the background. Oh, great

:15:12. > :15:31.effort. All of world's great course

:15:32. > :15:40.designers agree every great venue should have at least one drivable

:15:41. > :15:46.par-4. The third very much drivable with something less than a driver.

:15:47. > :15:54.Branden Grace there. The wind starting to get up a little now.

:15:55. > :16:07.Some inClement weather forecast for later in the day. There is a great

:16:08. > :16:14.view. It is a splendid venue this. And a splendid approach in Matteo

:16:15. > :16:18.Manassero. In the doldrums it would appear no more. Hard to believe this

:16:19. > :16:29.place is only seven years old, the course that is. Harrington for

:16:30. > :16:32.7-under. Oh, pick it out! He and McDowell and several others very

:16:33. > :16:38.good poor weather players. He won't mind if the wind gets up a bit.

:16:39. > :16:48.Eddie Pepperell birdie on the first from an unlikely location on the

:16:49. > :16:52.tee. And at the ridge there from the fringe, really well judged.

:16:53. > :17:03.First good birdie chance on the course, down wind on the the second.

:17:04. > :17:12.Noren. 554 yards. Second easiest on the course statistically. So far in

:17:13. > :17:22.Round 3. He greens it with the iron. Avoiding sand city on the right.

:17:23. > :17:31.Back on the 3rd green a man who won by the sea across the Atlantic at

:17:32. > :17:38.the Heritage Tour nament on the PGA Tour this year. Branden Grace.

:17:39. > :17:45.Putting the cat among the pigeons with an eagle. He triumphed on the

:17:46. > :17:51.scores in April. What about the shores of the Moray Firth in July?

:17:52. > :18:04.Naren. Pace put this one. Up and over the rise in the middle of the

:18:05. > :18:08.greens. Slow down. Hmm. Misjudgment there from the Swede. Four wins on

:18:09. > :18:25.the European Tour already. We have seen that putt already from

:18:26. > :18:36.Eddie Pepperell. Not just a good job by Danny Lee. Branden Grace on the

:18:37. > :18:46.par-4. Pin-seeking again. Straight at it.

:18:47. > :18:56.Noren, two putt birdie on the par-5. Smooth it in? Yes. He moves smoothly

:18:57. > :19:17.to minus 9. Looking strong. The unconventional, but effective

:19:18. > :19:27.putting stroke of Branden Grace. Only a par.

:19:28. > :19:33.There it is, Pepperell, Noren lead by a single stroke from Hatton,

:19:34. > :19:42.Grace and Manassero. It really is tight. A series of players fancying

:19:43. > :19:47.their chances. Now on the fourth green Noren faces an unlikely putt

:19:48. > :19:52.to regain sole possession of the lead.

:19:53. > :19:59.Par for Noren on the 3rd. So here on the 4th a chance. Oh! He was good

:20:00. > :20:08.for line. If only he had hit it. The tap in should be simple enough

:20:09. > :20:21.for the par. Stays 9-under. Tyrell Hatton tried to keep a bogey

:20:22. > :20:41.off his card. Gets very annoyed with himself. Not

:20:42. > :20:48.so bad as he was a couple of years back, but always sense there a

:20:49. > :20:50.volcano waiting to erupt. But keeping his emotions under wraps

:20:51. > :20:59.more than when he first joined the Tour. Branden Grace, well

:21:00. > :21:09.positioned, on the left-hand side of the sixth fairway. Front pin never

:21:10. > :21:17.easy. Just a bit unlucky to run quite that far past on the sixth.

:21:18. > :21:24.Par-5, 568 yards. What a round from Andy Sullivan. Birdie on the second,

:21:25. > :21:35.eagles on the third and fifth. Two dropped shots as well. He fes robbed

:21:36. > :21:39.there. It could have been a birdie on 9.

:21:40. > :21:45.Unlucky with the run through with the approach for Grace, can he get

:21:46. > :21:53.the eagle? That would be a no then. Mis-read. A couple of feet left.

:21:54. > :21:59.I will putt, I will putt, I will mark! A few spots of rain now

:22:00. > :22:17.appearing in the skies. All the modern day professionals are

:22:18. > :22:30.so proficient from sand. Alex Noren on 5th, not letting me down.

:22:31. > :22:36.Grace for the birdie and 9-under. Very comfortable indeed. Finding

:22:37. > :22:50.that par-5 in 2. We talked about Manassero plummeting

:22:51. > :22:55.down the rankings, one of reasons - he tried to achieve more length off

:22:56. > :23:00.the tee. The technical issue became a confidence problem, but reaching

:23:01. > :23:05.the 6th in a couple of shots is no problem today.

:23:06. > :23:16.So nearly the appearance of an albatross! Fantastic!

:23:17. > :23:29.Canizares on six under playing the 8th. The Spaniard. Beautiful read

:23:30. > :23:40.and execution. With some support in the crowd.

:23:41. > :24:00.That is what they call a bounce back. A birdie on 8 and on 9, out in

:24:01. > :24:08.32. He is a feisty character. I tipped him earlier this season to

:24:09. > :24:12.win soon. It could be this week. Manassero, eagle chance on the 6th

:24:13. > :24:18.as the rain patters down more heavily. He doesn't feel a thing.

:24:19. > :24:24.Eagle 3, 10-under. Look out the rest. And playing like this, hard to

:24:25. > :24:37.comprehend from the Irish Open last year, he missed 16 consecutive cuts.

:24:38. > :24:48.To Branden Grace, claw grip employed by Branden. Par put president is

:24:49. > :24:58.missed. -- Par putt is missed. He lets one slip. Now the most fearsome

:24:59. > :25:05.hole on the course today is the 7th. 464 yards into the wind. Pepperell

:25:06. > :25:12.in the rough off the tee. That's gone straight right. Oh, please.

:25:13. > :25:19.There is some gorse and all sorts of stuff. It can really hurt you. In

:25:20. > :25:25.more ways than one. Good luck, Eddie.

:25:26. > :25:36.Gouveia with that languid takeaway. Second to 13. Very nice indeed. He

:25:37. > :25:38.played some wonderful stuff on the challenge Tour last year. People are

:25:39. > :25:49.expecting big things of him. Eddie Pepperell found his ball and

:25:50. > :25:55.hacked it out to here. Fourth shot on the par-4 seventh. A blind shot

:25:56. > :26:04.too. Never easy. Nice effort. That for a bogey 5.

:26:05. > :26:18.Back to Gouveia out in 33. Birdied 12. Just a slight push on 13. Has to

:26:19. > :26:41.settle for a par. Quite a level-headed sort it seems

:26:42. > :26:48.to me. Yes, he is solid. Manassero will not want to leak one here. Get

:26:49. > :26:51.going! Pulls up on the damp surface. The first bogey on the toughest hole

:26:52. > :27:04.on the course, the 7th. With this wind direction from the

:27:05. > :27:11.east, the entire characteristics of course have changed. Not the brute

:27:12. > :27:19.it was on Thursday when the average score was 75.3 and we saw a host of

:27:20. > :27:23.double-bogeys. And Pepperell is in danger of one here. The second shot

:27:24. > :27:34.was the dreaded shank. He leaves it short as well. Disappointing.

:27:35. > :27:40.Double-bogey 6. A score that hurts even more when he knows that people

:27:41. > :27:46.around him are making birdies and eagles and going forward. So

:27:47. > :27:54.Manassero leads at 9-under. Just about to approach the turn. And five

:27:55. > :28:05.players just one shot adrift. All the guys on 5-under par, including

:28:06. > :28:13.Henrik Stenson and Russell Knox and Ritchie Ramsey are in contention.

:28:14. > :28:19.Quite a leaderboard and a world leader in beauty is Scotland itself.

:28:20. > :28:23.This is the land of castle. One being Castle Stuart, completed in

:28:24. > :28:32.1625 by James Stuart, the third earl of Moray. It is a place for those

:28:33. > :28:34.who revel in history, for those who rejoice in splendour and appreciate

:28:35. > :28:46.the home of golf. COMMENTATOR: Beautiful pictures, the

:28:47. > :28:58.rain getting heavier now is the day progresses. Manassero, par on the

:28:59. > :29:07.eighth, tough par-3. Very good, right over the stick.

:29:08. > :29:19.Playing 222 yards today, the eighth is no bargain as Alex Noren has

:29:20. > :29:28.found out. As they say over the pond, there is chicken on that born.

:29:29. > :29:33.Graeme McDowell, needs to get going. Out in 37, 1-over par, got par on

:29:34. > :29:47.the 10th. He does get going at the 11th. In there for a birdie two.

:29:48. > :29:53.Brought up on links golf at Portrush.

:29:54. > :30:04.Danny Lee. Lovely. Well saved. He was the youngest ever winner on the

:30:05. > :30:12.European Tour when he prevailed in the 2009 Johnnie Walker classic as

:30:13. > :30:22.an amateur. Back to the overnight leader, Alex Noren. Very simple

:30:23. > :30:29.putting action. In four the par-3. Steadies the ship. The last time we

:30:30. > :30:36.saw Andy Sullivan, he missed a birdie putt on nine, reached the

:30:37. > :30:42.turn on 33 and since then, birdie on 11, now dropped shots.

:30:43. > :30:56.No dropped shots. Very near. He will tap in for par. Birdie chance for

:30:57. > :31:06.Manassero. Ninth holed, playing fifth hardest. On the first half of

:31:07. > :31:13.the Star ground. -- third round. More pace and it would have held its

:31:14. > :31:19.line. Very good four on that hole today. Just an iron off the tee for

:31:20. > :31:26.Branden Grace but then went left and right, over the green into the

:31:27. > :31:32.hazard, that is his fourth shot, has two hole that to avoid a double

:31:33. > :31:39.bogey. Alex Noren, he will get some spin. Gets across the ball, gets

:31:40. > :31:45.lots of zip on it. Can he get the judgment of the distance right? Past

:31:46. > :32:01.the pin and screw it back. How about that? Just what the doctor ordered.

:32:02. > :32:07.Chance to go level with Manassero. If Branden Grace can hole this, it

:32:08. > :32:13.will feel like a birdie. Now it feels like a crushing blow. The

:32:14. > :32:21.worst way to start the back nine. Double bogey. At the 10th, spot of

:32:22. > :32:27.bother for Manassero. Not reaching the green with his second. On the

:32:28. > :32:35.par-4 and she is still struggling for par now. These skies are

:32:36. > :32:42.darkening, looks like we are in for a sustained spell of rain.

:32:43. > :32:59.Good few of the putt of Alex Noren. No bother. Or is it nae bother up

:33:00. > :33:07.here? It was birdies and eagles for fun before, but now it is going

:33:08. > :33:20.quiet. If this doesn't go in... He has left it short again. Two bogeys

:33:21. > :33:25.in the last four holes. Hasn't been a of the leaderboard for quite a

:33:26. > :33:29.while, so nerves might be kicking in, who knows? Grace, very

:33:30. > :33:35.experienced, practically the disappointment of the previous hole

:33:36. > :33:43.in the back of his mind. -- trying to put the disappointment. It is

:33:44. > :33:51.only par on 11. One birdie and eight pars so far for Danny Lee. Staring

:33:52. > :34:10.down his second shot on the 10th four double great view up towards

:34:11. > :34:17.the first Nice touch. Recently Graeme McDowell has made a birdie

:34:18. > :34:22.two here. Shorter two on the course, playing just 141 yards today, the

:34:23. > :34:30.11th. Maybe Manassero will match McDowell's feet.

:34:31. > :34:48.Breeze just on the edge of the coastline. Big divot, holding it up

:34:49. > :34:53.into the breeze, beautiful. And the word beautiful applies to the round

:34:54. > :34:59.today of the South African Justin Walters, needing two putts from here

:35:00. > :35:06.for a birdie to come home in 32 for a bogey free round of 65. Given it a

:35:07. > :35:14.good old-fashioned tonk. Absolutely tremendous. The man who had to

:35:15. > :35:19.return to Q-School in Spain at the end of last season to regain his

:35:20. > :35:25.card. Now vying for a place in the Open.

:35:26. > :35:29.Danny Lee, nice pace on the parting store, looking for a borrow, it

:35:30. > :35:53.wasn't there. Well accustomed to the vagaries of

:35:54. > :36:02.links golf, Manassero, broke through to prominence at Formby in Birkdale

:36:03. > :36:10.in 2009 when he won the Amateur Championship. For back-to-back

:36:11. > :36:13.birdies around the turn, Alex Noren. Exquisite, played the hole

:36:14. > :36:26.perfectly. Particularly in those conditions. Leads by one. Come on,

:36:27. > :36:37.just in. Persuade this one in. -- Justin. 65 around here any time is

:36:38. > :36:45.laudable, 65 today, fantastic. Best round of the week so far. And with

:36:46. > :36:53.that, Walters leads in the clubhouse but on the course, out in front it

:36:54. > :36:59.is Alex Noren. The standard of this man you'd involve striking over the

:37:00. > :37:06.first two Rohan Ince was excellent. Fourth in driving accuracy, fifth in

:37:07. > :37:13.greens in regulation. He is a shotmaker. He is. Time to avoid the

:37:14. > :37:20.bunker on them the right hand side and he does very well indeed. The

:37:21. > :37:32.par-3 is very short, the water looks close to the green on the left-hand

:37:33. > :37:41.side. -- lurks. Two pars so far on this hole for Danny Lee.

:37:42. > :37:51.Just lovely, 3-1 the US Amateur Championship in 2008. He beat the

:37:52. > :37:58.course record that year, beating a certain Tiger Woods's record.

:37:59. > :38:05.The players have to strike the ball a bit harder than they have been so

:38:06. > :38:11.far on these pure greens. Getting damp now. Chance missed there. Grace

:38:12. > :38:29.stays 6-under. Maybe just the slowing of that pace

:38:30. > :38:36.caught Alex Noren out there. Tapping par, stress-free. Kathy is working

:38:37. > :38:41.hard here, protecting their players, they can shelter under the umbrella

:38:42. > :38:47.as they prepare for the putt, but not when they are striking the ball.

:38:48. > :38:53.Lee, it looks very straightforward. The right hand on the putting grip,

:38:54. > :38:59.almost down to the metal. This is for 9-under. Where else? He is

:39:00. > :39:05.donating $500 for every birdie this week to the flood relief fund in

:39:06. > :39:14.West Virginia. $1000 for an eagle. Very generous and a really good

:39:15. > :39:22.cause. The 12 hole, snaky par-5, third shot for Manassero. Very well

:39:23. > :39:27.judged, that is a brave shot, write at least they can, can see the

:39:28. > :39:37.problem left again, he is not afraid.

:39:38. > :39:49.599 yards, the 12th. Today it is a proper par-5 and oh dear, it has

:39:50. > :39:52.left us. It is not out of bounds, it is a hazard, he will be dropping out

:39:53. > :40:00.of play and taking a penalty shot. No need to reload, it is a hazard,

:40:01. > :40:25.not out of bounds. Looks exasperated, Manassero but

:40:26. > :40:32.must be absolutely overjoyed to be back in the limelight because he has

:40:33. > :40:37.been very much in the wilderness. An exemption after winning the BMW

:40:38. > :40:47.Championship three years ago, five-year exemption. Danny Lee on

:40:48. > :41:02.the par-5, 12th, can he judge it? Stop. Fine shot. Four Alex Noren it

:41:03. > :41:04.is about damage limitation. He took his drop and is now playing his

:41:05. > :41:14.fifth shot. Under normal circumstances,

:41:15. > :41:26.professionals hate to make a six on eight par-5, Alex Noren will be

:41:27. > :41:32.overwhelmingly relieved. Has got six pars in a row from the seventh. He

:41:33. > :41:37.is now 2-under for the round and 7-under for the Championship. Kicks

:41:38. > :41:57.the habit. The red figure is very welcomed. Danny Lee to move double

:41:58. > :42:05.digits onto the card. You better believe it. Trying to maintain the

:42:06. > :42:10.great history of New Zealand success in links golf. Simon Owens won the

:42:11. > :42:25.Open jabber chip at Saint Andrews in 1978. -- The Open Championship. This

:42:26. > :42:28.for the bogey for Noren. He goes back to 9-under, double hat on a

:42:29. > :43:08.par-5, a bogey. -- double hurt. The weather closing in rather no.

:43:09. > :43:15.McDowell comments off a birdie at 14, the tough 15th, fourth hardest

:43:16. > :43:25.on the course, can he came it? It is moving, it is in. Fantastic birdie.

:43:26. > :43:40.When the going gets tough, you can often bank on this man. Manassero,

:43:41. > :43:44.386 yard par-4. Keep has avoided the right-hand side. Perfect drive, very

:43:45. > :43:56.good second. Birdie chance. Caught a lot about Open places being

:43:57. > :44:02.up for grabs at this tournament. Tyrell Hatton has qualified for the

:44:03. > :44:11.Open four times since 2010 and I tell you what, he is bang on course

:44:12. > :44:15.to make that five times. 9-under, the really bunching at the top. The

:44:16. > :44:22.bad weather has rather concertino this leaderboard. Manassero, he is a

:44:23. > :44:37.putting machine. Little nudge of a stroke. And nudges it in.

:44:38. > :44:47.Even George Formby could not have said it has timed out nicely today.

:44:48. > :44:55.I know what you mean. Danny Lee for the par. No Danny. That was a bit

:44:56. > :44:59.whiffy, that stroke, didn't really commit to it and you have to do in

:45:00. > :45:09.these conditions. Bogeyed time, back to minus nine.

:45:10. > :45:19.That is the way it stands. 9-under as a common score and it is tied at

:45:20. > :45:26.the top, five of them. Longest hole on the golf course is the last hole,

:45:27. > :45:34.easier prospect on day three then it has been in the first couple of

:45:35. > :45:39.rounds. Hatton, can he find the raised green or is it in the rough

:45:40. > :45:49.stuff? What about that, Green bit in one. A very different animal to what

:45:50. > :45:56.it was on Thursday. He host of double bogeys or worse on Thursday.

:45:57. > :46:03.Tight pin placement, just over a little mound guarding the front of

:46:04. > :46:14.the green. He has found it, Alex Noren.

:46:15. > :46:24.Graeme McDowell for three birdies in succession.

:46:25. > :46:36.He likes a birdie on the 16th, does Graham. A birdie at Celtic Manor in

:46:37. > :46:44.2013 effectively sealed the Ryder Cup. What a great last day that was.

:46:45. > :46:51.Hatton, very good eagle chance, to the upper level. Keep going. That of

:46:52. > :46:56.work left for the birdie. Is that a smile or a wince? It will be a smile

:46:57. > :47:22.if Alex Noren holes this on 14. Standing firm. Up ahead on 15. This

:47:23. > :47:28.is slightly awkward, got to get the pace and the flight right. Looking

:47:29. > :47:37.good. It is looking better than good! Fantastic chip in birdie. He

:47:38. > :47:44.is full of self belief. His short game is right up there with the very

:47:45. > :47:48.best. If you can go on to the European Tour when you are 17 years

:47:49. > :47:55.of age, like he did, you are something special. It started a

:47:56. > :48:02.trend, he has won three times since. Hatton for a good birdie finish.

:48:03. > :48:05.Excellent Thursday. 66 it is for the 24-year-old Englishman. He is right

:48:06. > :48:16.in the mix. Often described as a winner in

:48:17. > :48:25.waiting, the weight might be around 24 hours. Alex Noren was 1-under par

:48:26. > :48:32.for the last four holes for this golf course. That is impressive.

:48:33. > :48:50.That is pretty impressive too, nice control. The long par-4. From the

:48:51. > :49:01.right-hand rough just chopped into it great imagination and execution.

:49:02. > :49:05.McDowell made a hat-trick of birdies on 14, 15 and 16 and Manassero has

:49:06. > :49:09.the opportunity to do exactly the same.

:49:10. > :49:46.McDowell so tough to make the right contact. From that their lie. If he

:49:47. > :49:53.holes that, he is home in 31. Amazing. That grass is really short,

:49:54. > :50:03.like most greens on some golf courses. That par, as important as

:50:04. > :50:14.any birdie. Remains at 9-under, right in the hunt.

:50:15. > :50:25.Well holed. Those kind of putts when you are in contention are

:50:26. > :50:35.bread-and-butter. The wind has dropped now. The rain is not really

:50:36. > :50:44.going away. Manassero for a birdie on 16. Does he like it? He does now.

:50:45. > :50:53.That ball likes the dark, doesn't it? Down it goes. And up Manassero

:50:54. > :50:58.goes into the lead on his own. Upon the 18th, Graeme McDowell has missed

:50:59. > :51:05.his birdie putt. He tidies up with this one. It is in for a 69. Back

:51:06. > :51:15.nine of 32, great golf in the conditions. The way she started

:51:16. > :51:17.suggested it might be a lengthy and not exactly fruitful day. -- the way

:51:18. > :51:39.she brisk swing on 16. Late spin but not

:51:40. > :51:43.a lot of it. Up ahead on the 17th. Excellent par-3 at Castle Stuart,

:51:44. > :51:51.Manassero, Longridge birdie attempt. That is a bit slow. Keep going. It

:51:52. > :52:07.was downhill, but he gave that one too much respect. One hole back.

:52:08. > :52:20.Noren unable to be given a share of the lead. Should have done enough to

:52:21. > :52:25.make a par. Making hard work of this and it is nowhere near. Two bad

:52:26. > :52:29.putts in a row from this man, don't see too often. It has been one of

:52:30. > :52:32.those days, just when you think somebody might take the tournament

:52:33. > :52:40.by the scruff of the neck, they can't pull away. Tyrell Hatton, the

:52:41. > :52:44.Kop as leader with a round of 66 is the jointly do with Manassero and

:52:45. > :53:00.this man, Alex Noren. -- the joint leader. Tackling the 17th. Good bit

:53:01. > :53:04.of flow to that swing. Takes cover and that is why he likes it so much,

:53:05. > :53:11.what an effort that there is, one of the shots of the day for me. He has

:53:12. > :53:14.won the Nordea Masters in his native Sweden a couple of times and

:53:15. > :53:22.conditions, probably not a problem for him, this deluge. Danny Lee's

:53:23. > :53:30.turn, holding the polls, never a bad sign. --

:53:31. > :53:37.didn't wanted to run quite so far past.

:53:38. > :53:42.Who would have thought this? Branden Grace has this putt to avoid coming

:53:43. > :54:01.home in 40. Double bogey at the 10th, bogey at

:54:02. > :54:06.the 14th, 15th. Round of 74, as miserable as the weather. Not good

:54:07. > :54:26.reading for Grace fans. Alex Noren in the foreground as

:54:27. > :54:39.Danny Lee goes for his birdie. Just did not want to fall in. He will

:54:40. > :54:48.remain -9 with a tap in. Like grip on the right hand. Hardly on the

:54:49. > :54:53.club itself. -- like grip. Throughout the round we have seen so

:54:54. > :54:58.many examples of Matthew Manassero's shot game wizardry, can he finish

:54:59. > :55:09.off with one? -- short game wizardry. Phil Mickelson played an

:55:10. > :55:14.exquisite shot when he won year. It won him the play-off against Branden

:55:15. > :55:15.Grace and 2013. Manassero cannot win today but he is in a very good

:55:16. > :55:25.position. Looks easy enough, couple of feet,

:55:26. > :55:29.but as you can see from our camera, fighting against the conditions

:55:30. > :55:40.here, the wind is strengthening, nothing is easy. Alex Noren for

:55:41. > :55:48.birdie. Fantastic wordy two. Bat birdie two.

:55:49. > :56:05.In rugby terms, that was definitely one against the head. Manassero's

:56:06. > :56:11.birdie putt on the last. Dear, that is not a stroke that will send him

:56:12. > :56:17.to bed feeling good. Three putts on 17. Poor attempt to that finish.

:56:18. > :56:27.Amazing stuff. One of the best putters out there. Good school,

:56:28. > :56:36.though, 68, he will be happy with that overall. Danny Lee, 289 yards

:56:37. > :56:42.to the hole, surprisingly taking driver of the tee. What a challenge

:56:43. > :56:53.this is, anything right and it is Z minus. Not sure what he's going to

:56:54. > :56:59.find there. Just short, could be OK. A more positive choice of tee shot

:57:00. > :57:07.for Alex Noren, can reach this green with an iron. One of the benefits.

:57:08. > :57:12.Good clearance of the hips, full release, shouting at it to go and

:57:13. > :57:18.that is why, another five yards and it was near-perfect. And that is

:57:19. > :57:24.going to be quite a tight line down at the Dell. If Alex Noren can get

:57:25. > :57:29.up and down from their, he will lead by two overnight.

:57:30. > :57:43.We's third shot got him here. -- Danny Lee's third shot. Chance of a

:57:44. > :57:56.last gasp birdie. Not that bad try but he will settle for a par on the

:57:57. > :58:08.close. Round of 70, still right in it. As are so many. Tomorrow

:58:09. > :58:09.promises much. All about whether Noren can get that extra cushion

:58:10. > :58:28.now. What a finish! Weather? What

:58:29. > :58:36.weather! He is made of stern stuff this man, he could be very tough to

:58:37. > :58:41.catch. A fighting finish from Alex Noren with back-to-back birdies and

:58:42. > :58:46.the Swede extends his advantage to two shots, but 21 men in seven shots

:58:47. > :58:54.of his lead going into the second round. A day that promises to be

:58:55. > :58:58.full of possibilities. Since 1972 the Scottish Open has been played

:58:59. > :59:07.for at nine different courses across the country and 2011 was the first

:59:08. > :59:11.visit to Castle Stuart. Now we are back for the fourth occasion for

:59:12. > :59:18.these special links on the shores of Moray Firth. Today, the big field's

:59:19. > :59:24.focus was not on the local sights, but a winner's cheque for 550,000

:59:25. > :59:29.and one of possible four places up for grabs in next week's Open at

:59:30. > :59:36.royal Troon. The event has been supported by golf lovers in the

:59:37. > :59:40.Highlands who have come from Inverness, Loch Ness and further

:59:41. > :59:49.north. Some accomplished players have added this. 2008 was Graeme

:59:50. > :59:54.McDowell's year and he has become a Major winner as has Martin Kaymer

:59:55. > :00:04.seven years ago. Both are in the hunt again. Luke Donald is fuelled

:00:05. > :00:07.by memories of 2011 and Phil Mickelson's victory in 2013

:00:08. > :00:12.underscored the value of the event in the build up to the Open. Five of

:00:13. > :00:25.the last six Open winners have played here first. Former US Open

:00:26. > :00:34.champion Justin Rose scored his first win in Scotland at Royal

:00:35. > :00:39.Aberdeen in 2014. And 12 months ago in Gullane Rickie Fowler became the

:00:40. > :00:47.latest member to master his skills ahead of the Open. Many others have

:00:48. > :00:54.followed his lead this year. But going into the final round on Sunday

:00:55. > :01:01.it was a Swede, four-time European Tao winner Alex Noren who was two

:01:02. > :01:07.shots clear. On his tail Hatton and Manassero. But with 21 players

:01:08. > :01:14.within seven shots of Swede's lead, including England's Andy Sullivan

:01:15. > :01:25.and former champion Graeme McDowell, the brollies were up on a day that

:01:26. > :01:31.promised to be dramatic. . So much to play for on so many levels. For

:01:32. > :01:37.so many battling to leave the shores with a feel good factor before the

:01:38. > :01:42.year's third Major. The sun isn't exactly shimmering on the water

:01:43. > :01:46.today. Not like Californian weather, but that didn't stop Phil Mickelson

:01:47. > :02:00.feeling at home. This birdie at the 16th carrying him to 6-under for the

:02:01. > :02:10.day. Big Phil parred the penultimate hole and had 65.

:02:11. > :02:19.Bogey-free it has been quite a round from Mickelson, who now journeys to

:02:20. > :02:24.Troon with his links game sharply honed and confidence boosted. Here

:02:25. > :02:38.Mickelson leads in the club house on 7-under. The same mark as Henrik

:02:39. > :02:46.Sten Sen. Still a Gad from Stenson to Noren. Mikelson is not the only

:02:47. > :03:07.American to impress with Stricker getting 67 and Ritchie Ramsey. With

:03:08. > :03:15.me Kim Thomas and many people look to Graeme McDown as a potential

:03:16. > :03:23.winner. -- Graeme McDowell. Yes, can he get going today? An inviting pin

:03:24. > :03:31.position. Central on the green. That is an excellent approach. Five and

:03:32. > :03:38.half, six feet for birdie. From one Ryder Cup fixture in recent times to

:03:39. > :03:46.another. Henrik Stenson, looking for his third birdie already of the day.

:03:47. > :03:55.He won a couple of weeks ago at the BMW International Open in Germany. I

:03:56. > :04:00.think he is quietly confident about Troon next week. Toughest hole on

:04:01. > :04:04.the course today, the first. Because the wind has switched around again.

:04:05. > :04:07.You wouldn't think so with Graeme McDowell there birdying it for

:04:08. > :04:16.9-under. Three behind Noren. Game on!

:04:17. > :04:33.Is in is Ritchie Ramsay from distance on the fourth. Go on! Just

:04:34. > :04:38.great stuff from Ritchie Ramsay. That is a real bonus birdie. When

:04:39. > :04:43.you're knocking that kind of one in, you think will it be my day? Yes,

:04:44. > :04:48.the sap is rising. The fans loving it. Right, I'm so looking forward to

:04:49. > :04:53.this afternoon's play. Hopefully the weather will play fair as well as

:04:54. > :05:01.Lee knocks his par putt in. Well saved. Stays 9-under. Danny Lee.

:05:02. > :05:09.Big course this Castle Stuart. It is about finding the right part of

:05:10. > :05:14.fairway to go at the pin. McDowell third on the par-5 2nd hole. Looking

:05:15. > :05:22.down the green. Again fairly inviting. The lie is OK. Oh just

:05:23. > :05:29.pulled up a little too soon for his liking from that semi rough. Another

:05:30. > :05:34.birdie chance though. We saw a fantastic round of 65 from Justin

:05:35. > :05:47.Walter yesterday. How he would love to replicate that 24 hours on.

:05:48. > :05:57.Just the kind of nerve-settler he was looking for. The rain easing off

:05:58. > :06:01.slightly now. Now, this hole, Graeme McDowell will feel owes him

:06:02. > :06:10.something. This for the birdie 4. Get in! No! Not often he plays four

:06:11. > :06:22.par-5s in one over, but he has done this week. Stays minus 9.

:06:23. > :06:28.Alex Noren driver of the first. As Kim said, a very different

:06:29. > :06:35.proposition this hole today than to yesterday. 439 yards into the

:06:36. > :06:38.breeze. Only a light breeze today thankfully. He spanked that one down

:06:39. > :07:02.the left-hand side. That is fine. As the rain begins to fall harder,

:07:03. > :07:06.Walters for birdie. The most galling kind of putt you can have.

:07:07. > :07:17.Absolutely in the jaws, but just short.

:07:18. > :07:29.Third green. Martin Kaymer. 6-under par, this to go to 7-under. Try to

:07:30. > :07:33.make a charge early doors and he got it! Former US Open champion.

:07:34. > :07:48.Desperate to get back in the hunt. While Noren has found the fairway,

:07:49. > :07:50.not so for Tyrell Hatton. Fact he he has been fortunate with this lie and

:07:51. > :08:03.not the worst angle of attack. Pleading with the ball to go and I

:08:04. > :08:12.think it partially listened! Under the brolly. And back on the fairway.

:08:13. > :08:23.155 yards left for Noren. The ball will travel left to right. Through

:08:24. > :08:30.the air. Stay down. Hit through. He hung it up and down. Oh, straight at

:08:31. > :08:32.it. Very good shot. Oh, unlucky, he gets so much spin does Alex.

:08:33. > :08:47.Sometimes it costs him. Noren's place in the Open next week

:08:48. > :08:54.is under wraps. Not so Ritchie Ramsay.

:08:55. > :09:03.That is really good. A golden chance to make it a hat trick of birdies.

:09:04. > :09:08.3, 4, how about 5? Hatton on the first. Big swing from left to right.

:09:09. > :09:16.A couple of feet I would say. For the birdie. Crisp putting action,

:09:17. > :09:22.just like his swing really. Not quite enough steam on that one.

:09:23. > :09:31.Should tap in to remain minus 10. Does so.

:09:32. > :09:37.I can tell you Ramsayed by make his birdie putt on 5th. Now he is only

:09:38. > :09:52.three off the pace. Noren. Must be firm with this one.

:09:53. > :10:04.Putting uphill. From the left. Keep going! Oh, please! Suffering on the

:10:05. > :10:11.lip. That is a very comfortable opening par for the Swede.

:10:12. > :10:19.When you're in front, they're the kind of pars you want - eliminating

:10:20. > :10:24.stress. And it is as you were overnight. Noren in front by a

:10:25. > :10:33.couple of shots. From Manassero and Hatton.

:10:34. > :10:43.Distinctive cut on the fairways here at Castle Stuart. Manassero, short

:10:44. > :10:53.game expert to the plateau pin position. On the par-5 second. Very

:10:54. > :10:55.well played. That left for the birdie to move to 11-under and

:10:56. > :11:13.within one of Noren. McDowell on the fourth, 204 yards it

:11:14. > :11:19.is playing today. As a collective these par-3s here are stern. As you

:11:20. > :11:25.can see, so hard to access the hole location. Yes, you have got to be

:11:26. > :11:30.cute with direction into the pin on all of them actually. A lot of

:11:31. > :11:38.slopes, a lot of borrows. Back on the second, a good chance for Matteo

:11:39. > :11:42.Manassero. Oh, again not enough pace. The greens a bit slower and

:11:43. > :11:47.probably slower than the putting green before they started. Last

:11:48. > :11:55.night the pirt let him down -- putter let him down. He missed a

:11:56. > :12:04.tiddler for birdie on 18. Andy Sullivan for 9-under. Well played,

:12:05. > :12:10.looking for a Ryder Cup berth. Days pointing last hole in the French

:12:11. > :12:16.Open last week. He will not want a bad finish today. Big Sunday for

:12:17. > :12:27.him. As it is for McDowell, who lives and breathes the Ryder kuch.

:12:28. > :12:31.-- Ryder rup. It is a common theme this, players leaving the putt

:12:32. > :12:36.short, because the moisture on the greens is slowing them down. Third

:12:37. > :12:48.hole. Short par-4. Good chance for Lee. 10-under. Yes! It is hotting

:12:49. > :12:54.up, Phil, isn't it? I love it! Trying to for his second win on the

:12:55. > :13:00.Tour. He won as an amateur and as a teenager in Australia. Ramsay for

:13:01. > :13:08.four on the trot. Four birdives that it. Oh, my word. 10-under Ritchie

:13:09. > :13:14.Ramsay - go! It has been 17 years since the last Scottish winner of

:13:15. > :13:23.this Scottish Open. Colin Montgomerie in 1995.

:13:24. > :13:36.Now grab. Expertly played. Pretty much guaranteeing a birdie there to

:13:37. > :13:41.move to 13-under if he taps it in. We talked about subplots. Ryder Cup

:13:42. > :13:47.qualification, Open qualifications, capturing the title. As for Justin

:13:48. > :13:53.Walters, the big thing for him - getting enough cash to keep his card

:13:54. > :14:00.for next season. And as such, his approach to 3 will be a delight.

:14:01. > :14:10.Downhill, left to righter for Hatton. This is normally meat and

:14:11. > :14:15.drink to these pros. Another birdie. Lacking in pace. They have to get

:14:16. > :14:19.the speed just right here. Can't leave putts short, or on the lip in

:14:20. > :14:31.the last round. You have got to go for it.

:14:32. > :14:41.How about this? Alex northern a four-time winner on the European

:14:42. > :14:46.Tour. On each occasion he has been leading alone after 54 holes in

:14:47. > :14:52.those victories. You mentioned Justin Walters, 98th on the race to

:14:53. > :15:01.Dubai. A big time for him. Big putt. He moves to 10-under. It is bunching

:15:02. > :15:07.so much at the top. It could be even more, because, Kim, Noren's found

:15:08. > :15:12.trouble off the third tee. Normally birdie country. Can't ground the

:15:13. > :15:19.club. Makes it more difficult. Bites down on it once again. Looking to

:15:20. > :15:23.check it up. Oh, very good. A recovery shot really. Keeping his

:15:24. > :15:39.composure under pressure. Walters now. Just a little from the

:15:40. > :15:44.right. Ideally judged. Hard to believe this man has missed seven of

:15:45. > :15:52.his last nine cuts, inspired this week. Andy Sullivan, not much in

:15:53. > :15:57.this putt in terms of line. Straight and firm is what the doctored

:15:58. > :16:03.ordered. This is for double figures under par. Go on Andy! Yes! I feel

:16:04. > :16:12.for him after last week in France. He is responding well. He is such a

:16:13. > :16:20.smiley upbeat character. Hard not to fall for Andy Sullivan. Noren to

:16:21. > :16:27.tidy up for par. Well done. Could easily have dropped a shot there.

:16:28. > :16:32.On the first hole Graeme McDowell opened his birdie account. Four pars

:16:33. > :16:41.since then. A good opportunity here on 6 though.

:16:42. > :16:45.A distinctive sound of ball hitting turf on these links fairways.

:16:46. > :16:55.McDowell excellent. Tyrell Hatton, the par-3 fourth

:16:56. > :17:00.hole. Missed it on the wrong side. Very awkward from there. Oh what, a

:17:01. > :17:08.great try that was though. Word class that you know? To get that

:17:09. > :17:14.speed right and almost perfect line. He knocked it in for a par as well.

:17:15. > :17:24.Well done Tyrell. A lilt right to left. -- a little right to left. But

:17:25. > :17:33.in nevertheless. Graeme McDowell inDer double digits under. Back to

:17:34. > :17:43.the fourth and Noren. Back of the left hand pulling the putter through

:17:44. > :17:56.the stroke. In for the par. Danny Lee's supposed to be at the green

:17:57. > :18:01.briar. But the weather intervened. What a story it would be considering

:18:02. > :18:13.those circumstances if won here. A big story on 18th. The third shot

:18:14. > :18:17.for Callum Shinkwin. He could be getting himself into the top five.

:18:18. > :18:24.Almost the eagle. The birdie's guaranteed, Phil. Fantastic Sunday

:18:25. > :18:28.for Callum. A fantastic seven days, because last Sunday he booked his

:18:29. > :18:36.place in the Open by doing well at the Open Defrance. There it is. Alex

:18:37. > :18:44.Noren two clear over night. He is still two clear. Danny Lee and

:18:45. > :18:49.Justin Walters his closest pursuers. Another man having an excellent

:18:50. > :18:55.final day is the local man really. Born in this area, Russell Knox.

:18:56. > :19:00.Inverness through and through. And Russell back in 32, a 67, a great

:19:01. > :19:04.Sunday for him. Finishing 9-under par. Just about inside the top 10.

:19:05. > :19:17.Very pleased with his work. We saw Ritchie Ramsay feel off the

:19:18. > :19:25.four birdies. He dropped a shot on the 7th. To the turn in 33. Now has

:19:26. > :19:32.that to start the back 9 with a birdie. Noren, four wins on his CV

:19:33. > :19:38.on the European Tour and each occasion he has led after 54 holes.

:19:39. > :19:51.Is that an omen. Third shot to the par-5 sixth. Steady. Nice grab. Most

:19:52. > :19:56.folks are thinking here that it would be nice for Ramsay to grab the

:19:57. > :20:07.trophy. It is makeable for 10-under. Get in! What a day he's having! Life

:20:08. > :20:13.is good for Ramsay. Won a luxury car for a hole-in-one, he is a new dad

:20:14. > :20:20.and loving his golf. And wearing the colours of Saltire in the process.

:20:21. > :20:25.Noren great chance for 14-under. Take a firm grip on this

:20:26. > :20:31.Championship. Oh! Bit the hole. Didn't like the taste!

:20:32. > :20:41.Must be honest, I'm surprised he missed that one. Me too. Normally a

:20:42. > :20:46.very good clinical finisher. A great front runner.

:20:47. > :20:58.Andy Sullivan yet to make a Poguey. -- bogey. Thirdies y birdies --

:20:59. > :21:05.birdies on 3 and 5. Cutting this one in. It is a handy bounce isn't it?

:21:06. > :21:14.The contours helping greatly. He actually overcut that. The pin's on

:21:15. > :21:17.the right of the 8th in a very accessible place in a little hollow.

:21:18. > :21:25.A chance of a hole-in-one there perhaps. Noren. Right to left

:21:26. > :21:37.dog-leg. That familiar cutting action. He gets in lots of spin. He

:21:38. > :21:45.needs it here. Well played. The 7th hole 564 yards, the lengthiest par-4

:21:46. > :21:51.on the course. Short in distance, big in importance for Andy Sullivan.

:21:52. > :22:02.Go on - 11-under. Third birdie today. Sean the caddy saying, well

:22:03. > :22:10.done, mate! Throughout the week Noren responsible for only one front

:22:11. > :22:15.9 bogey - on this hole yesterday. Not the best of putts, but it is a

:22:16. > :22:20.tap in par. Stays one under for the day.

:22:21. > :22:26.All in all, going out in front, I think he has done well. Yes he is

:22:27. > :22:40.bit of stern stuff is Alex Noren. Ahead on the 9th. Two birdies so

:22:41. > :22:47.far. All the rest pars. This not to drop a shot. Well holed.

:22:48. > :22:54.Phil Mickelson popped the ball in the hole for a two here earlier

:22:55. > :23:02.today. Excellent final day for Phil. 66. Now then, Hatton to the 8th. Can

:23:03. > :23:10.he get close to this? To the pin in the hollow. Looks good for line. Oh,

:23:11. > :23:20.big first bounce. Unlucky. Come back down. Come on. You know you want to!

:23:21. > :23:29.Sometimes they listen, Phil. Very rarely though. It is a game of

:23:30. > :23:34.fractions, Danny Lee's stayed on top of that mound. Hatton's came back

:23:35. > :23:45.in. Now a tough birdie putt for Ramsay on 12.

:23:46. > :23:48.This knowledgeable gallery saying, beauty, well done. All comments

:23:49. > :24:01.apply. Alex Noren has played a slack tee

:24:02. > :24:05.shot on the par-3 eighth. Pressure time.

:24:06. > :24:14.No, slides by. Tighter at the top. Back to minus 12. Danny Lee remember

:24:15. > :24:33.is 11-under. On the front 9 here this week Tyrell

:24:34. > :24:40.hat p has made only one -- Hatton as made only one bogey on 8th. This to

:24:41. > :24:47.get his own back. And to move to 11-under par. A win for him seems

:24:48. > :24:51.inevitable sooner rather than later. He has had 13 top tens now on the

:24:52. > :24:56.European Tour without quite breaking through. With that Hatton climbs

:24:57. > :25:02.into a tie for second place. Just one behind our leader, Noren.

:25:03. > :25:11.Who will be king of the castle? Castle Stuart that is. Of course,

:25:12. > :25:16.royalty relish their time in -- royalty relish their time in

:25:17. > :25:20.Scotland and so many tourists are beguiled as well. Especially

:25:21. > :25:27.golfers, this is the home of golf. There is no place quite like it. Yes

:25:28. > :25:35.and Danny Lee's enjoying it now, because he has driven it on to the

:25:36. > :25:43.10th green, 363 par-4, an eagle chance. A difficult one though and

:25:44. > :25:48.he has misjudged the line. Great chance for the birdie though to

:25:49. > :25:53.come. That would take him to 12-under and join Noren. Out in 34,

:25:54. > :26:12.Graeme McDowell. Par on 10. Brilliant. Just needs the putter to

:26:13. > :26:27.work. Although that shouldn't be too much problem. 9th hole down wind.

:26:28. > :26:34.Slightly uphill for Noren. The pin 19 on. How brave is he? He is safe,

:26:35. > :26:36.into the heart of the green. Just thinking about Danny Lee, we

:26:37. > :26:46.shouldn't be surprised he is prominent here. Made almost $4

:26:47. > :26:48.million on the PGA Tour last year. And on the money on the 10th.

:26:49. > :27:03.Another birdie. Third of the day and he has drawn

:27:04. > :27:11.level with Noren. McDowell in 11. Fantastic tee shot. Oh! I don't

:27:12. > :27:17.believe he has spurned that chance. All the hard work done. Walks off

:27:18. > :27:30.just with the par. He may well rue that.

:27:31. > :27:50.Totally bewildered by that read. On the 12th Nicholas Colsaerts, parred

:27:51. > :27:58.10 and 11. He is 6-under. A long range eagle chance here. He has got

:27:59. > :28:05.to turn. Oh, yes! He is something else, isn't he? The Belgian boomer.

:28:06. > :28:13.He can putt and when he's hot, he is really hot. 8-under, looking for a

:28:14. > :28:19.big finish. As is Patrick Reed, this for a 66.

:28:20. > :28:29.Reed aggravated. Nevertheless, good day for the Americans. Steve

:28:30. > :28:36.Stricker, 67. Phil Mickelson 66. Reed 67. Sending a message ahead of

:28:37. > :28:47.Troon next week. page is ultra-confident, Patrick

:28:48. > :28:54.Reed. Danny Lee birdied the 10th. Alex

:28:55. > :29:00.Noren didn't go for the big guns of the tee. This is his second. Back

:29:01. > :29:06.Henao Montoya. Must be bold to get close. -- back Henao Montoya.

:29:07. > :29:31.15 feet left. Something about the showpiece tournaments that bring the

:29:32. > :29:36.best diet of Tyrell Hatton. I think he will be very disappointed with

:29:37. > :29:48.the city of the first bounce there. Disappointed. -- the ferocity. Open

:29:49. > :29:53.places on the mind of several players, including Jorge Campillo.

:29:54. > :29:58.Slider of a putt. Making gains late on when it matters, the Spaniard,

:29:59. > :30:08.6-under the start of the day, three birdies on the nine wordy. Putting

:30:09. > :30:18.from the fringe, you can never be quite sure of the reaction. It

:30:19. > :30:24.should be a par for Hatton. The physical sense turned up the heat

:30:25. > :30:35.with an eagle on 12. Can he get birdie on 13? -- Nicolas Colsaerts.

:30:36. > :30:40.Pick it out. He is on the charge. We know when he gets hot, he is

:30:41. > :30:44.exceptional, eight birdies and an eagle fling with Lee Westwood when

:30:45. > :30:52.they beat Woods and is quicker at the Ryder Cup in Medinah. -- eight

:30:53. > :31:00.birdies and an eagle playing with Lee Westwood. Just overcooked it,

:31:01. > :31:05.would have looked so good to him. This is one of the most inaccessible

:31:06. > :31:14.pins on the golf course. Back right. Hard to find. But not for Danny Lee.

:31:15. > :31:25.He has now got that putt to go in front on his own. This is hotting up

:31:26. > :31:31.nicely. And so was the weather. Colsaerts, eagle and birdie the last

:31:32. > :31:42.two holes. Up to the plateau. It is in. He is 10-under. And looking so

:31:43. > :31:50.cool. He is great. And he is the definition of a streak player. Andy

:31:51. > :31:56.Sullivan, he found the left-hand hazard with his second shot on the

:31:57. > :32:05.par-5 12th, took a dreaded air shot with his third. Now played five,

:32:06. > :32:17.staring at the possibility of a seven. How costly could that be?

:32:18. > :32:28.McDowell, those guys up above, fluffy clouds, good to see.

:32:29. > :32:36.10-under. Right at it. Please. That was unlucky. Not quite reaching that

:32:37. > :32:42.top plateau and he knows it. For so many reasons it has just been one of

:32:43. > :32:50.those days formic dowel. Come on handy. This is for a six. -- one of

:32:51. > :32:57.those days for McDowell. Three feet past.

:32:58. > :33:06.Phil Mickelson making the very short hop over to Prestwick airport for

:33:07. > :33:13.the Open intrusion. Danny Lee, we can almost give him this one for the

:33:14. > :33:21.birdie at 12. I say, comprehensively missed. Sullivan did make the double

:33:22. > :33:25.bogey seven on 12. That is why you don't see his name on the

:33:26. > :33:32.leaderboard. We thought Danny Lee was going to go out in front lawn.

:33:33. > :33:42.Not so, tied at the top with Noren. Who is playing the 12th. Long second

:33:43. > :33:58.shot on the par-5. 599 yards. Downwind. Shouting at it. That is

:33:59. > :34:07.OK. Not quite reaching the green but still a very good chance of a birdie

:34:08. > :34:15.from there. Since his birdie on the 10th, the putter of Richie Ramsay

:34:16. > :34:23.has cooled somewhat. Short par-4 16th. Richie Ramsay, that is for

:34:24. > :34:29.11-under par and we must remember he is one of those players yet to nail

:34:30. > :34:36.down a place at the Open next week. Slightly errant second shot from

:34:37. > :34:45.Hatton, 63 yards left, awkward length of bunker shot. Making the

:34:46. > :34:57.birdie hard to get. Getting closer but still hard work.

:34:58. > :35:17.Danny Lee on 13 for a birdie. It will be par.

:35:18. > :35:29.That is going to keep travelling. Has done well, actually. Therefore

:35:30. > :35:34.see on the par-5. Surely Nicolas Colsaerts cannot keep this run

:35:35. > :35:45.going. Eagle on 12, birdie on 13 and 14. You can't, can you? Please.

:35:46. > :35:52.Right in the very centre. Hits the back before it hits the bottom.

:35:53. > :35:56.11-under par. He could win this and we haven't seen much of him all

:35:57. > :36:04.week. He's that kind of player. Inspirational. Hatton for 12-under.

:36:05. > :36:14.They are all going in now. Pressure on Noren. Has got a birdie putt to

:36:15. > :36:22.come. As it stands, Danny Lee and Hatton on 12-under together with

:36:23. > :36:30.Noren, this is to break the tie for the Swede.

:36:31. > :36:42.Get in and says somebody, probably his caddy! Up on 17th is the

:36:43. > :36:45.Spaniard they cull the iron man because he plays in so many

:36:46. > :36:53.tournaments and would love to play another one. The Championship next

:36:54. > :36:59.week. The Open. Campillo needs a birdie on either this or the last.

:37:00. > :37:06.And he delivers! Extraordinary stuff. He could remember that putt

:37:07. > :37:09.for the rest of his life because he is trying to qualify for the Open

:37:10. > :37:16.for the first time and make his major debut. Typical last they

:37:17. > :37:26.stuff. Cut and thrust. Sullivan just for par. Well done Andy Sullivan. --

:37:27. > :37:32.typical last day stuff. Giving his composure after the jewel on the

:37:33. > :37:40.12th, double bogey. Manassero after a dozen straight pars. This is for

:37:41. > :37:50.birdie. His first of the day. Do not write him off. All coming down to

:37:51. > :37:58.the wire. The Scottish Open title, Open Championship places. Ramsey

:37:59. > :38:08.will not want to League 1 here. Well done Richie. Looking good for the

:38:09. > :38:16.Open, two off the lead. This is just how a good Sunday should be. Only a

:38:17. > :38:24.couple of shots separating the top seven players with Noren out in

:38:25. > :38:28.front. Nicolas Colsaerts pad the 16th, so his glory run was halted.

:38:29. > :38:43.Manassero for glory at 12-under. Barring a golfing calamity it is

:38:44. > :38:52.going to be his first top ten since this tournament a couple of years

:38:53. > :39:06.back. Danny Lee at 15. Birdie chance. He has steamed it. Lucky or

:39:07. > :39:16.unlucky? The former, I suggest. On 18, Jorge Campillo putted from the

:39:17. > :39:23.fringe. The first at night was struck too hard. No. That is a bogey

:39:24. > :39:33.six and with it, I think his Open chances have exploded. Shame, brave

:39:34. > :39:36.try from the Spaniard. His body language says it all. Find 68,

:39:37. > :39:57.though. Noren, second shot of the par-4.

:39:58. > :40:03.Awkward to get close. Stay there. It is going to run off? Is it? Not

:40:04. > :40:10.quite, he is OK now. You can breathe again. One negative for Noren in a

:40:11. > :40:17.sea of positives, sometimes too much spin is imparted. Cannot get any

:40:18. > :40:24.negatives for Richie Ramsay today. What a round. It included six

:40:25. > :40:29.birdies, a single bogey, 67 and he is packing his bags for Royal Troon.

:40:30. > :40:35.Great for the home fans as well who have flocked here to see him. Noren

:40:36. > :40:42.for birdie. Could have been chipping if he was slightly more unlucky.

:40:43. > :40:54.Pretty good from that range. Still very tight. As you said before, he

:40:55. > :41:16.is a proven front runner. Waiting to exhale. Graeme McDowell,

:41:17. > :41:26.deflated. Frustrated. Bogey on 15. At least it is going to be a birdie

:41:27. > :41:34.on 16. Clear out not quite the day that he envisaged.

:41:35. > :41:42.Chattering after missing a putt, that is the common theme.

:41:43. > :41:55.Hatton needs a late charge. Will it start here on 14? This is to join

:41:56. > :42:09.Noren. Turn, keep going. Lack of pace, not now. Had the line as well.

:42:10. > :42:19.What a strange all day. Throughout the final round, so money players,

:42:20. > :42:24.Hatton amongst them pressing hard, trying to catch and go past Alex

:42:25. > :42:29.Noren at the top. But the Swede, so far, four calls meant to play just

:42:30. > :42:37.about holding firm. Meanwhile I can tell you that Danny Lee is on the

:42:38. > :42:47.par-4 16th in one. This could really upset the apple cart. To take the

:42:48. > :42:55.lead. My word. Rush of blood there. Six feet left for birdie to draw

:42:56. > :43:03.level with Noren. At its maximum the 18th hole stretches 607 yards.

:43:04. > :43:06.Nicolas Colsaerts not happy with the strike on his second shot. But I

:43:07. > :43:22.don't know why. That is for eagle. 13-under. Andy

:43:23. > :43:28.Sullivan coming off birdie on 15 for two in a row. Recover some of that

:43:29. > :43:36.ground he lost with the double bogey seven on the 12th. He does so,

:43:37. > :43:43.11-under. Is it too late? Two holes left. Moments ago we were thinking

:43:44. > :43:54.Danny Lee for an eagle and now this is for a birdie.

:43:55. > :44:06.Horrible, I'm afraid. Crestfallen. A par. Great drive on the par-4.

:44:07. > :44:14.Finding the green. You have to say, what a waste. Colsaerts is on the

:44:15. > :44:19.green as we know. How about this? This is for 13-under. Got to give it

:44:20. > :44:43.a chance. Big swing. That is wide. Two feet left to finish on 12-under

:44:44. > :44:49.par. 15. 458 yards, the longest par-4 on the back nine. Obvious

:44:50. > :44:56.birdie opportunity. Eight hardest hole in the final round but Noren is

:44:57. > :45:00.equal to the task, a superb shot in the circumstances at this time and

:45:01. > :45:08.he knows it. The back right pin perfect for his ball shape but that

:45:09. > :45:13.is a candidate for shot of the day. Colsaerts, what a last day for him,

:45:14. > :45:22.come on, finish it off. He does, 6-under par 66, fantastic at nine of

:45:23. > :45:27.just 30 against a par of 36. Well done says Martin Kaymer, his playing

:45:28. > :45:35.partner. Well-deserved. Now he can go to Troon and prove his driving

:45:36. > :45:42.stats on the postage stamp. Noren, big putt for 14-under. Going to be a

:45:43. > :45:50.nail in the coffin of the others. Holding firm and then some. Yes, the

:45:51. > :45:56.quality of the second shot just tremendous and with any lead not

:45:57. > :46:04.birdie on 16 and only managing par on 17 it means that Noren is two

:46:05. > :46:17.clear with three to play. Hatton from the right-hand hay on the 16th.

:46:18. > :46:24.Needs all of his touch here. Great shot said somebody in the crowd.

:46:25. > :46:31.Going on. Fantastic effort. All happening now. If Hatton can finish

:46:32. > :46:42.second on his own that would be his biggest ever check, Noren wins,

:46:43. > :46:45.ditto. The second of Noren. Close to the green, par-4, remember. That is

:46:46. > :46:59.a little bit shy. Tension telling. Looking at this, you have to believe

:47:00. > :47:07.facing that horrible lie on 18, birdies year, minimum requirement.

:47:08. > :47:16.Then when, final hole, over 600 yards in two blows, can he make it?

:47:17. > :47:22.Not quite. In the gully. At this stage, no lead is big enough. For

:47:23. > :47:30.extra breathing space for Noren. This should do it, surely. Give it a

:47:31. > :47:37.chance, come on. That would have looked so good for him.

:47:38. > :47:50.Another hole out the way. Stays 14-under and stays in charge.

:47:51. > :47:59.Trying to looked impassive but not doing a good job.

:48:00. > :48:09.The 23-year-old back on form, 111 in the Race to Dubai, hard to believe

:48:10. > :48:11.that. Not for long. This is for par. Short game skills on display once

:48:12. > :48:29.again. And nerve to boot. Blemish free card. Hence the smile.

:48:30. > :48:40.This took up the gap to one. Don't look for much borrow. Acceleration.

:48:41. > :48:50.Just got away at the end, he went straight at it.

:48:51. > :49:10.There is the school board and the man on top is the man on top. All

:49:11. > :49:17.day. Since halfway. Sullivan. On the last. Can't even squeeze a birdie

:49:18. > :49:26.out of the 18th. What might have been. Seven on the 12th and seven on

:49:27. > :49:32.the last hole at the Open de France, Ryder Cup at stake, I wonder. Every

:49:33. > :49:37.point counts there with the qualifying period drawing to a close

:49:38. > :49:43.and a couple of months' time, let's hope he makes Minnesota. Chance to

:49:44. > :49:53.put our last bit of pressure on Noren. Leave. For 13-under. Three

:49:54. > :50:02.putting 16 after driving the green and missing that little tiddler.

:50:03. > :50:08.Providing this one goes in, a good week for the man who wasn't going to

:50:09. > :50:15.be here at the start of the week. He was going to defend the Greenbrier

:50:16. > :50:16.Classic in America. Fantastic addition to the Scottish Open, Danny

:50:17. > :50:29.Lee, 12-under. Huge putt in the life of Alex Noren.

:50:30. > :50:38.He has holed so many of those this week under pressure. Remaining

:50:39. > :50:51.14-under, par on 17, gold dust. Very good, similar for Hatton. This is

:50:52. > :51:02.for a par. Well holed. So much money at stake. Race to Dubai points, etc.

:51:03. > :51:07.Keeping his nerve and feeling it. Although two shot lead is useful, it

:51:08. > :51:13.is by no means decisive, especially on a swing hole like the 18th, where

:51:14. > :51:18.scores can range from an eagle to a seven. Anywhere on the fairway on

:51:19. > :51:28.the job is almost done. He is two clear. Familiar left to right shape.

:51:29. > :51:31.Finds the fairway, the big question will be with people for it? First

:51:32. > :51:44.half of the job is done. Up on the putting surface, let's

:51:45. > :51:50.hope that Manassero holes this to remain bogey free for the day.

:51:51. > :52:02.Never in doubt. Cool head, old head on young shoulders. He can expect

:52:03. > :52:13.that big leap in the world rankings. 596 coming here, he will zoom up.

:52:14. > :52:20.The answer to my question, gone with an iron, looking down the left-hand

:52:21. > :52:29.side, Alex Noren. Big rocklike from left to right. Imploring it to stay

:52:30. > :52:40.left. He is all right, on the second corner of this snaking par-5, he is

:52:41. > :52:48.all right. We know that a par will probably do. All of us getting the

:52:49. > :52:56.distance right for this third. He has managed it just about. Hang on.

:52:57. > :53:02.Yes. 20 13th Phil Mickelson three parted from lengthy range to go into

:53:03. > :53:07.a play-off with Branden Grace -- three putted. Hatton is two shots

:53:08. > :53:21.behind, here he is for if this goes in we will have some

:53:22. > :53:30.fun and games. Nice try. Very nice try. The question is no simple to

:53:31. > :53:34.get this to them to extra holes, Hatton must hole that and Noren must

:53:35. > :53:45.feed putt. -- 3-putt. Gathering pace. Cosied it

:53:46. > :54:05.down. Necessary. His biggest cheque to date came at

:54:06. > :54:11.the Wales Open at Celtic Manor, is he going to enjoy another Celtic

:54:12. > :54:15.success? Another big moment in the life of Tyrell Hatton, this will

:54:16. > :54:23.guarantee second on his own, providing that Noren tap seven. Well

:54:24. > :54:31.done, not dropped shot insight, three birdies, solid as you like,

:54:32. > :54:34.13-under. He will win soon. Noren's putt should be a formality, but in

:54:35. > :54:39.these circumstances it most certainly isn't. Just to win by a

:54:40. > :54:54.single shot. In it goes. His first European Tour

:54:55. > :55:01.title. Unlike all the rest, he led going into the last round and keeps

:55:02. > :55:05.up record, fantastic. Padraig Harrington captured this title in

:55:06. > :55:11.Gleneagles in 1993, Johan Edfors in Loch Lomond 2006 and the Alex Noren

:55:12. > :55:16.and you have two wonder with Henrik Stenson being in good form, how

:55:17. > :55:21.about a first Swede to win a major at Royal Troon next week? Right now,

:55:22. > :55:29.Noren in the mood for celebration. What a performance.

:55:30. > :55:36.Such a strong composed finish from Alex Noren, who has held top spot

:55:37. > :55:45.says the halfway mark and then record equalling -- career-best

:55:46. > :55:51.second place for Tyrell Hatton. Matteo Manassero's first top ten

:55:52. > :55:55.finish for two news. Good to see Graeme McDowell, Phil Mickelson and

:55:56. > :56:00.Henriksen as in the top 15 and that could bode well for true but King of

:56:01. > :56:03.the castle, Castle Stuart, Alex Noren receives the trophy that

:56:04. > :56:07.signals his first victory for over a year and a first in Scotland, the

:56:08. > :56:15.home of golf. He surges into the top ten in ninth place on 61st in the

:56:16. > :56:21.season-long race to Race to Dubai. Much to celebrate after a first

:56:22. > :56:24.European Tour win for the Swede. So relieved right now, even more than

:56:25. > :56:27.happy, I would say. Having those guys behind me and still pulling

:56:28. > :56:40.through, it is big for me. We are very admiring of the course,

:56:41. > :56:45.very happy it rained last night and it is still dry and I will sing to

:56:46. > :56:50.my caddy, it got even firmer than before and it is amazing, I want to

:56:51. > :56:56.thank Chris and his team for an amazing course. Lauren continues his

:56:57. > :57:01.tremendous comeback from injury. Two years ago he missed a whole season

:57:02. > :57:03.with tendinitis in his wrists and we will see him very soon once again on

:57:04. > :57:13.the Ayrshire coast. Zach Johnson defends the title he

:57:14. > :57:32.won in such style at Saint Andrews. Today, it is the Scottish links that

:57:33. > :57:37.belong to Alex Noren. He is the Scottish Open champion.
