:00:26. > :00:33.Hello and welcome back to Augusta National on what is one of the great

:00:34. > :00:37.days in any sport. Masters Sunday, a day when tailor-made excellence is

:00:38. > :00:43.rewarded with a Green Jacket in this the 80th playing of the tournament.

:00:44. > :00:47.So sit back, relax, we are with you live and with no distractions until

:00:48. > :00:49.midnight and even beyond if that is what it takes as we settle down and

:00:50. > :01:03.enjoy the magic of the Masters. Maybe! Yes, sir!

:01:04. > :01:16.Here it is! A life changer! He has got it! Oh, while! There it

:01:17. > :01:44.is! Yes! Oh, what a shot! Absolutely

:01:45. > :02:13.incredible. An unbelievable shot by Mickelson!

:02:14. > :02:20.Jordan Spieth has been in control of this tournament since day one and

:02:21. > :02:24.his astonishing frontrunning abilities have been evident in the

:02:25. > :02:28.last seven rounds this year and last where he has held the outright lead.

:02:29. > :02:30.But he has led something of a charmed life in the last couple of

:02:31. > :02:36.days. Andrew Cotter looks back. Augusta is

:02:37. > :02:42.a place that has an effect on people and for our still young man from

:02:43. > :02:44.Texas, it transforms him from outstanding to a near untouchables.

:02:45. > :02:50.Defending champion Jordan Spieth began as if he had not been away, a

:02:51. > :02:56.66 was without fault and a sign for those chasing. At this stage, a

:02:57. > :03:01.strong challenge from Britain and from Ireland. Shane Lowry fought the

:03:02. > :03:05.wind so well for a 68. England had three close at hand in Casey,

:03:06. > :03:11.Poulter and Justin Rose. World number one Jason Day was in a stroke

:03:12. > :03:15.of Jordan Spieth big -- before falling back to level par. Rory

:03:16. > :03:21.McIlroy offered a good and bad, in the end, a 2-under 70. It was one of

:03:22. > :03:26.the so-called big three setting the pace. Jordan Spieth, the man to

:03:27. > :03:30.catch once more. A new day and the same conditions, windy and cool,

:03:31. > :03:36.scoring high. McIlroy was making a move, doing as he had to, scoring

:03:37. > :03:42.well on the back nine par fives. A ceremony for a former champion who

:03:43. > :03:50.bought for the last time up the final hole, Tom Watson. Ian Woosnam

:03:51. > :03:53.also took his lead. Dashes life. And amateur Bryson DeChambeau threatened

:03:54. > :03:59.the lead before a closing seven, not part of his equation. But it was be

:04:00. > :04:05.fleeting. Although by a slender margin as he also struggled with the

:04:06. > :04:10.wind -- it was Jordan Spieth leading. He would lead by only one

:04:11. > :04:15.and he would now play with McIlroy. Perhaps the scoring was too low last

:04:16. > :04:19.year and perhaps this was Augusta's revenge. Wind blowing and balls

:04:20. > :04:24.becoming machines of near perpetual motion so time for a steady and, and

:04:25. > :04:31.older head. Magic from Bernhard Langer. At 58, he would finish

:04:32. > :04:35.1-under, one better than his partner Jason Day, still in touch. Then

:04:36. > :04:39.there was tradition to ignore from Smylie Kaufman, new boys do not

:04:40. > :04:44.farewell at Augusta, they say. But this rookie was the only man to

:04:45. > :04:48.break 70. It is becoming Masters custom at McIlroy will have one

:04:49. > :04:54.costly round here but still in touch, as Spieth who had scrambled

:04:55. > :05:00.so well to save his wayward game finally broke on the last. A

:05:01. > :05:04.double-bogey. And those now not far behind could believe again. The

:05:05. > :05:08.chase is on for the final day at the Masters.

:05:09. > :05:12.It is on, all right! Jordan Spieth held a four shot lead when he

:05:13. > :05:17.stepped onto the 17th yesterday but finished one ahead of the field.

:05:18. > :05:21.Alabama's Smylie Kaufman closest in his Masters debut. In a tie for

:05:22. > :05:25.third, the remarkable Bernhard Langer who still believes he can win

:05:26. > :05:31.a third Green Jacket at 58. The superb youngster Hideki Matsuyama

:05:32. > :05:39.who could be Japan's first ever male Masters winner. And it is a day of

:05:40. > :05:49.30 mph winds. Ready to charge, the trio. Former runner-up Lee Westwood

:05:50. > :05:52.only four away. And Rory McIlroy starts at five behind for a tie for

:05:53. > :05:56.11th. Only once in Masters history has the

:05:57. > :06:00.winner not been in the top ten at the beginning of the final round.

:06:01. > :06:04.But the winds have abated considerably in Augusta and it has

:06:05. > :06:09.switched around from north-westerly to north-easterly, light breezes, up

:06:10. > :06:14.to 12 mph, a lot cooler today, 67 degrees. The forecast is 80 degrees

:06:15. > :06:21.tomorrow, looks like we have missed that he! Play began at the 40 five

:06:22. > :06:26.p.m.. We are waiting for full live coverage from our host broadcaster

:06:27. > :06:30.at around about seven o'clock. In the meantime, live golf is available

:06:31. > :06:34.on the BBC's board website and the Red Button and we will chew the fat

:06:35. > :06:38.about what might be to day with two men who have wrestled with this

:06:39. > :06:45.course in Augusta on a Sunday. Ollie Zinger and Ken Browne. Jordan

:06:46. > :06:48.Spieth, he defended against Rory McIlroy, how much hope has that

:06:49. > :06:55.slipped at the finish of that reveals today? A massive amount. He

:06:56. > :06:59.bogeyed the 17th yesterday and double-bogey at the 18th. He is now

:07:00. > :07:04.only one ahead. Psychologically, I am not sure that will affect him, I

:07:05. > :07:07.think he is so strong willed and such a lot of confidence, it will

:07:08. > :07:11.not have knocked much out of him. But he has lost what would be a

:07:12. > :07:18.reasonable read. Let's talk numbers, what should the others be aiming for

:07:19. > :07:24.and should Spieth slip up? I think the guys at one or 2-over feel they

:07:25. > :07:28.have a chance. Augusta National on a Sunday offers somebody a chance to

:07:29. > :07:32.make a charge. The holes, they are in far easier positions. The greens

:07:33. > :07:36.still blazing fast and still terrifying out there. And with

:07:37. > :07:40.Masters pressure, they have to be in tune with how they feel as they have

:07:41. > :07:44.to just meant we swing with certainty, that is key. Can you

:07:45. > :07:48.swing with certainty when the pressure is at its highest? He

:07:49. > :07:52.certainly could, Jordan Spieth, the less two years. In his press

:07:53. > :07:55.conference after the slip-up, he said he was going home to break

:07:56. > :07:59.something quickly! The only thing he is used to breaking here as records.

:08:00. > :08:01.These are his reflections on that close into his third round last

:08:02. > :08:14.night. I thought I had putted the ball

:08:15. > :08:17.unbelievably well today. I mean, a lot of putts from 4-8 feet and I

:08:18. > :08:23.thought that was key. Beautifully done, right in the

:08:24. > :08:26.middle, Spieth for now leading by two.

:08:27. > :08:29.I certainly think down the stretch I am better prepared now than I was at

:08:30. > :08:33.this point is Jeff. He has done it again. It is magical

:08:34. > :08:35.stuff. -- this point last year. I struck my

:08:36. > :08:54.irons fantastic. Magnificent. It was a tough hole 111.

:08:55. > :08:59.-- 111. Putt down the hill for bogey. Quite

:09:00. > :09:04.extraordinary. It was a great bounce back on 12, a great putt.

:09:05. > :09:10.Good opportunity for Borden Dashwood Jordan Spieth. And he has got it!

:09:11. > :09:16.Just at the right moment. This to open up a four shot lead.

:09:17. > :09:22.That was one of the best birdies I have made here, at 15 today.

:09:23. > :09:30.That says it all! I played a solid round. Just two bad shots at the end

:09:31. > :09:34.of the round. I really should not have hit a driver on 17 in the

:09:35. > :09:40.position I was in. He has pushed a couple today. It was a really tough

:09:41. > :09:47.finish. That is right, surely? He has done badly today! After having a

:09:48. > :09:51.four shot lead and being in a Summer position last year to now it is

:09:52. > :09:56.anybody's game. That has just changed everything is

:09:57. > :10:01.going into Sunday. I have to shoot a significant under par round to win

:10:02. > :10:12.this tournament. This is Jordan Spieth this morning.

:10:13. > :10:16.Please putts were some of the greatest we have seen and this has

:10:17. > :10:22.been such a feature of his play here. We will review some of these,

:10:23. > :10:24.this was at the 2nd for a birdie down the hill. Look at the pace in

:10:25. > :10:32.the centre. Time and time again, under pressure.

:10:33. > :10:38.He cracked his face in his driver and seems to be losing some to the

:10:39. > :10:46.right. Let's have a look at the one at the 4th. This was for his par at

:10:47. > :10:50.the 4th, difficult to read it, the wind is blowing, hard to keep your

:10:51. > :10:55.balance, but perfect again. And what really impressed me was at the 6th,

:10:56. > :11:03.over The Edge of the green, leaving himself five feet. Just look at

:11:04. > :11:08.this. Just watch this. It allows 4.5, five inches of break in the

:11:09. > :11:12.centre of the cup. It is amazing, I cannot tell you how difficult that

:11:13. > :11:16.is to do, it was a beauty. He has time and time again rescued

:11:17. > :11:21.his round with the putting. He said last night, I have to strike better

:11:22. > :11:25.than I did yesterday, I cannot rely on my putt every round. And he has

:11:26. > :11:29.led a charmed life, especially of the tee.

:11:30. > :11:36.You have to rely on the putter to play well and that bills him out

:11:37. > :11:38.anti-capitalist is on the greens. It separates him from the rest of the

:11:39. > :11:47.pack. -- bails. Players have a neurotic obsession

:11:48. > :11:51.with golf. He has a safe house here where they do not talk of and I am

:11:52. > :11:55.sure the other they do not talk golf but you can't shut out what is going

:11:56. > :11:59.on in your head. I do not know what was going on in his head last night

:12:00. > :12:03.after what happened but it is difficult to overcome what happened

:12:04. > :12:06.to him and the comp have -- and two compartmentalised that and move

:12:07. > :12:11.forward today, I look forward to seeing how he deals. It is

:12:12. > :12:15.significant his swing coach from Australia Cameron MacCormack has

:12:16. > :12:21.flown in from Dallas. Clearly trying to get the swing issues sorted out.

:12:22. > :12:25.Sometimes you have to bring in your coach, he was losing some to the

:12:26. > :12:29.right and the occasional to the left. Never easy missing on both

:12:30. > :12:33.sides, he did not have a safe shot. And he cracked his driver face on

:12:34. > :12:37.Wednesday night so they can put new heads on but it is never the same as

:12:38. > :12:43.your original and he is playing with that a bit. There was a turnaround

:12:44. > :12:47.yesterday at the 7th that was a turning point for Rory and Jordan

:12:48. > :12:52.Spieth. Can was out there 24 hours later this morning.

:12:53. > :12:56.I put a white disc where the pin was yesterday on number seven and this

:12:57. > :13:01.is where Rory finished. It spun back to here.

:13:02. > :13:08.To read the greens, you look from the side and it is very clear. That

:13:09. > :13:13.is significantly downhill. But it is so quick. I could not believe how

:13:14. > :13:19.quick it was. So let's have another go, down the slope. A little bit of

:13:20. > :13:24.movement. Perhaps from the right. But watch how quick it is and how

:13:25. > :13:28.hard I have to hit this putt. Downhill, I know it is quick and you

:13:29. > :13:33.can't believe it. They will give it the tiniest nudge and it goes and

:13:34. > :13:38.goes and goes. That little bit of misjudgement, Rory misjudged the

:13:39. > :13:43.pace and put himself under pressure but it was so difficult to lay it

:13:44. > :13:45.dead. But that was the point is today when things started to go

:13:46. > :13:52.wrong for Rory. It was the hardest hole on the

:13:53. > :13:56.course and this was what you are talking about.

:13:57. > :14:05.His playing partner had a four a bogey so if Spieth misses, it is a

:14:06. > :14:09.three shot swing and eventually they both take a five, Rory misses this

:14:10. > :14:15.and Spieth nudges it in. He frittered the stroke away and he

:14:16. > :14:17.misjudged it. He pushed himself down and boosted the confidence of Jordan

:14:18. > :14:27.so that was huge. Jordan Spieth said to Bryson

:14:28. > :14:33.DeChambeau he loves putting at Augusta and you two were dead iPod

:14:34. > :14:36.has in your day, did you get that feeling at certain courses that you

:14:37. > :14:44.owned them on the greens? -- dead putters. Their horses for courses

:14:45. > :14:49.and if a course that you, I played well on Bermuda grass. I do not know

:14:50. > :14:52.why but the feel and see the line at Augusta National on greens this

:14:53. > :14:56.facet is a real gift and he has capitalised on it once and has a

:14:57. > :15:02.great opportunity to add to his legacy. Only one shot ahead but is

:15:03. > :15:06.it down to Spieth to lose today? Yes, he is defending champion with a

:15:07. > :15:10.1-shot lead but this is so difficult today and make one mistake and

:15:11. > :15:15.somebody makes an eagle, it switches round so quickly. If he can post

:15:16. > :15:21.5-under par, he has a great chance of winning. 3-under might win it

:15:22. > :15:25.easily. And some players have a chance to shoot something, 66, 65

:15:26. > :15:29.and going well back in the field. If he were to pull it off today, he

:15:30. > :15:33.would be the fourth man in history here at Augusta to win back-to-back

:15:34. > :15:38.and be joining three very famous names. But none of these players did

:15:39. > :16:07.it back-to-back, wire to wire, leading from start to finish.

:16:08. > :16:13.There is a bit of movement on the course this morning, we were waiting

:16:14. > :16:17.to see if anybody could mount a charge. Matthew Fitzpatrick is the

:16:18. > :16:22.youngest professional in the field and he has made the cut at the 2nd

:16:23. > :16:30.attempt here. This was him at the long par-5 2nd. And this is a goner.

:16:31. > :16:37.He has birdied the third, 2-under for the day, the best progress at

:16:38. > :16:43.3-over for the tournament. Let's remind you of how things look at

:16:44. > :16:51.this point. Jordan Spieth still to go out. He will be out in about five

:16:52. > :16:57.minutes or so. 1-shot advantage, only four men under par. Lee

:16:58. > :17:03.Westwood starting four back. He has had several rounds of 67 and if he

:17:04. > :17:09.posts another, he will be in the frame. That is Matthew Fitzpatrick

:17:10. > :17:14.moving up nicely. Jimmy Walker and Paul Casey also under par. Danny Lee

:17:15. > :17:18.did so well in the first couple of rounds here, also under par today.

:17:19. > :17:26.Time to remind you of the significant pairings and tee times.

:17:27. > :17:32.Rory went out at 1:55pm attempting to make up a five shot deficit, in

:17:33. > :17:37.the company of Daniel Berger. He will be out shortly. 7:15 p.m., the

:17:38. > :17:43.all England to well of Danny Willett and Lee Westwood, how productive

:17:44. > :17:48.might that be? -- all England J well. What a double act this is

:17:49. > :17:56.world number one Jason Day and world number number macro Dustin Johnson.

:17:57. > :18:03.And intriguing stories, fetching two time Masters champion Bernhard

:18:04. > :18:08.Langer and Hideki Matsuyama. Some 40 five p.m., the final pairing. For

:18:09. > :18:16.the third year in a row, the leader Jordan Spieth goes out, he did it in

:18:17. > :18:20.his debut in 2014, and Smylie Kaufman in his first ever Masters.

:18:21. > :18:28.What of Rory McIlroy? The challenge against Jordan Spieth let -- left

:18:29. > :18:38.him feeling bruised last night. How will McRoy cope with this? --

:18:39. > :18:41.McIlroy. Just so much on it. He would have the land that is ten

:18:42. > :18:48.yards over the green for that to work. What a difficult shot he has

:18:49. > :18:56.left itself now. Only three shots back and it could be two in a

:18:57. > :19:07.moment. He has got a chance. That is it now, I thought it had enough pace

:19:08. > :19:13.to hold its line. A tight left. That has gone right under the skirt. Here

:19:14. > :19:18.we are, still an enormous tree in front of it. He has seen worse at

:19:19. > :19:22.this hole. He has to do something to find a par here. He has got to be

:19:23. > :19:29.careful to chase the green, he has got to be careful.

:19:30. > :19:40.That was always a risk. Even if he had hit that perfectly, going at the

:19:41. > :19:46.flag. I do not know if I would have played that myself. As soon as he

:19:47. > :19:51.hit it, he said, no, no, no. His round is drifting away.

:19:52. > :19:55.Yes, I could not get anything going really. Another difficult today, the

:19:56. > :20:03.scores reflect that, it feels more like a US Open and a Masters.

:20:04. > :20:08.Disappointed. I felt like I righted the ship on the back nine, I gave

:20:09. > :20:14.myself opportunities that I could not take. But I guess if I can take

:20:15. > :20:18.heart from anything, Jordan has let a lot of people in with his finish.

:20:19. > :20:23.I need to get off to a fast start tomorrow. The wind is not going to

:20:24. > :20:27.be quite as strong, that is the forecast. If I can get off to a fast

:20:28. > :20:30.start, stranger things have happened! I need to play a lot

:20:31. > :20:37.better than it later today. You know how easy it is to let a

:20:38. > :20:41.lead slip here. Yes, of course. It is difficult to play with a lead on

:20:42. > :20:47.this golf course. The condition of this golf course, the way it is, the

:20:48. > :20:52.breeze. It is tough to be in front because you play on a defensive the

:20:53. > :20:58.entire time and there is not, you can't take on many flags and you

:20:59. > :21:02.leave yourself with light putts the entire day, it is a bit of a grind.

:21:03. > :21:06.But hopefully the conditions being a bit better tomorrow, we can attack

:21:07. > :21:12.more and take on more flags. Make some birdies and see what happens.

:21:13. > :21:19.He is about to get under way. His playing partner today is Daniel

:21:20. > :21:23.Berger, the PGA Rookie of the Year on the American Tour last year. Rory

:21:24. > :21:30.knows what it takes to post a low closing round here, he had a 66 here

:21:31. > :21:34.last year. Yesterday, he went the 17th eight shots behind, but feeling

:21:35. > :21:39.a lot better after that slip-up from Jordan Spieth. Still, is of hope

:21:40. > :21:44.from five back. He has to improve when yesterday significantly. --,

:21:45. > :21:49.is. Yes, he has made a couple of mentor errors, the second shot at

:21:50. > :21:52.the 11th was misjudged and he had no luck on the greens. The 1st hole is

:21:53. > :21:57.always problematic for him and he has made a lot of bogeys, it is

:21:58. > :22:01.critical to get to a good start on number one. And he got a first-hand

:22:02. > :22:07.look at children speak yesterday and he knows he is not pushing it, he

:22:08. > :22:13.got a two weight miss -- at Jordan Spieth. He is on top and it is

:22:14. > :22:16.impressive but Rory understands he is not clicking on all cylinders and

:22:17. > :22:22.it is an opportunity for him if he does slip up to make a move but he

:22:23. > :22:26.has to play a great round. Almost a bogey free round the challenge. The

:22:27. > :22:31.key areas he has to improve today would be what? Really? He has to

:22:32. > :22:36.drive the ball great today to get himself in position to play a key

:22:37. > :22:41.second shot and the key at Augusta is always on the greens. That is

:22:42. > :22:46.where I feel like, I felt like putting was the measure of your

:22:47. > :22:52.heart. It was, could I hit these putts with the same confidence each

:22:53. > :22:56.time? Rory showed yesterday he was not that comfortable on the greens,

:22:57. > :23:01.he came up short, but Jordan Spieth felt great, you could tell, he

:23:02. > :23:07.hardly had a 2-putt because he was -- them in. There was a different

:23:08. > :23:13.mindset between the way they felt. Rory and Danny Willett is and Lee

:23:14. > :23:17.Westwood trying to forge a path back to 1996 when we had a winner from

:23:18. > :23:23.our shores and it is 20 years since that final round between Nick Faldo

:23:24. > :23:28.and Greg Norman in which Sir Nick Faldo eventually won a third Green

:23:29. > :23:29.Jacket. Earlier, I reflected with Nick Faldo on those events two

:23:30. > :23:39.decades ago. That round was the best mentor state

:23:40. > :23:44.I was ever in my career. I said to myself, I want to win and stand out

:23:45. > :23:54.and look out over Augusta and all you see is trees.

:23:55. > :24:00.That is the way champions do it! I genuinely felt for him, what can I

:24:01. > :24:05.say? I do not know what to say. We embraced and I wished him well. With

:24:06. > :24:10.the media! I want to win the Masters, I did not

:24:11. > :24:14.win the Masters, Nick Faldo won the Masters. I screwed up, I know I

:24:15. > :24:19.screwed up today but it is not the end of the world for me, it really

:24:20. > :24:23.is not. I was emotion out there and there was emotion between Nick and

:24:24. > :24:28.myself on the 18th Green. I am disappointed and sad about it, I am

:24:29. > :24:33.going to regret it, it would be a day I know I let slip away. I would

:24:34. > :24:36.not like to see a player do what I did either under the circumstances.

:24:37. > :24:41.Not everything is going to be perfect in your life.

:24:42. > :24:48.Amazing to think it is 20 years ago that fateful Sunday. Six shot lead,

:24:49. > :24:51.he had, going into that final round. Did you really give yourself a

:24:52. > :24:57.chance, what chance is, I gave myself a chance because we come back

:24:58. > :25:01.to the Masters every year and we know the history of this great

:25:02. > :25:05.tournament. You have seen men coming from more than three shots back with

:25:06. > :25:09.nine to play, you have seen men crumbling with a three shot lead

:25:10. > :25:12.with three to go. So I knew it was possible and that was my goal, to

:25:13. > :25:19.get within three after nine. That was really the game plan.

:25:20. > :25:24.Unfortunately for me, Greg takes five at the 1st. And then I hit a

:25:25. > :25:29.great shot down the sixth. That was huge, a lovely 6-iron to that back

:25:30. > :25:35.right location, looking at from the top of the hill and I made two. That

:25:36. > :25:40.was a serious boost. I am playing great and hitting my irons great and

:25:41. > :25:44.I kept going, a fortunate putt on the eighth and it unfolded at nine,

:25:45. > :25:50.ten and 11. He makes a mistake and it spins off the green. At the 9th.

:25:51. > :25:56.And it was a two shot gap. Did you sense the wheels coming off and how

:25:57. > :26:00.did it manifest itself? I sensed it on the second tee, we played

:26:01. > :26:05.together on Saturday and he gripped the driver about ten times and I

:26:06. > :26:12.thought, that was different. It was a tie at 12, and we had the Match

:26:13. > :26:17.Play, he was going first. I made a know the 7-iron, 15 feet, that was

:26:18. > :26:22.what I was trying to do, but Greg changed his mind halfway down which

:26:23. > :26:27.is not ideal in your golf swing. He came up short, I walked to the 13th

:26:28. > :26:35.with a two shot lead and I said to myself, it would word! It is mine to

:26:36. > :26:39.lose now! And in the water again. Four shot lead. You imagine the

:26:40. > :26:45.emotion of that, you are watching and paying attention. And I was not

:26:46. > :26:51.as confident as 1991 1992. I came into the week and my swing was not

:26:52. > :26:55.great, tee shots in practice, everybody was talking about how fast

:26:56. > :27:01.my transition was and I had to slow it down. So for me, it was mentally

:27:02. > :27:05.one of the best rounds I played in my life because I stood on top of

:27:06. > :27:10.the hill and I said, the wheels are coming off, what are you going to

:27:11. > :27:15.do? I am going to do this and try this, whatever. You mentioned that

:27:16. > :27:19.2-iron to the 13th and like so many others, we have so many great

:27:20. > :27:26.memories of that, was that the key shot? It was amazing, I had a lovely

:27:27. > :27:30.little five wood and on every practice round, I got funny to tell

:27:31. > :27:35.me, where is the usual 15 to the middle? She would say she would say,

:27:36. > :27:41.here. So I had rehearsed all week and I had not used it all week. And

:27:42. > :27:48.sure enough, we came to the 13th and I got two 15 yards. I took out the

:27:49. > :27:51.five wood and it is difficult to describe the slope, it is a

:27:52. > :27:57.downslope and the ball is above your feet. And with the old play being

:27:58. > :28:04.fat -- flat as a pancake, I put this down and... I had enough of that and

:28:05. > :28:09.I went back to my bag and I would say, I am all right. Just start

:28:10. > :28:19.again. I said, I have just belted a 2-iron and I hit one of the sweetest

:28:20. > :28:25.2-irons in my life. When you got the 18th, it was an amazing walk up the

:28:26. > :28:29.18th. I remember watching and not knowing what to feel. A lot of

:28:30. > :28:33.people were in the same position. You gave him a hug at the end and

:28:34. > :28:38.you exchanged words and you said, good look, mate. There was a lot

:28:39. > :28:43.going on. He said afterwards he truly respected you and he saw you

:28:44. > :28:46.in a different light, was that a curious bond between you? The only

:28:47. > :28:54.way I can describe it was that I have won and lost Majors and I do

:28:55. > :28:57.not carry scars from my losses. I had a four shot lead in Murrayfield

:28:58. > :29:03.and I blew it and I got that back, so that was fine. I have lost the US

:29:04. > :29:07.Open play-off but I do not carry any scars and I know if I had a six shot

:29:08. > :29:14.lead in a Major and I had blown it, it would score me for life. That is

:29:15. > :29:19.all I felt, a genuinely thought, all right, I felt for him. I said, they

:29:20. > :29:23.do not know what to say, mate, I am just going to give you a hug. That

:29:24. > :29:28.was it. It was clear to me and people at home 20 years ago, it does

:29:29. > :29:35.not seem like it, thank you. A pleasure, thank you. And we well

:29:36. > :29:39.remember that. And we recorded that with Sir Nick Faldo early in the

:29:40. > :29:43.week, he is working for our American colleagues this week. And they will

:29:44. > :29:44.be offering a full broadcast of this final round in about five, ten

:29:45. > :29:56.minutes. That was an amazing final day 20

:29:57. > :30:04.years ago. To keep your composure and your concentration to shoot that

:30:05. > :30:07.67 was extraordinary? It was. He was ready when normal stumbled and he

:30:08. > :30:12.grabbed the lead. That is another set of circumstances. The guys

:30:13. > :30:16.trailing today have to realise that if something happens near the top

:30:17. > :30:19.and they have got something going, they have to be ready mentally to

:30:20. > :30:23.deal with the burden of being out in front. I think Nick Faldo was

:30:24. > :30:28.prepared for that as well as anybody could ever be. When Greg Norman

:30:29. > :30:36.stumbled and he got the lead, Nick Faldo went to another place. That

:30:37. > :30:41.shot he hit on 13, remarkable. The way Greg Norman handled it was sold

:30:42. > :30:47.at -- was so special. He took all of the blows from the press. He got

:30:48. > :30:52.6000, 7000 e-mails and letters just to say how well he handled it. He

:30:53. > :30:58.handled it so well. He fronted up all right. That shows us anything is

:30:59. > :31:02.possible on the final day here at Augusta. Rory McIlroy has got to

:31:03. > :31:09.think that because he has teed off. This was the opening blow.

:31:10. > :31:22.This will be a nervous tee shot. He knows he has a chance today. It is

:31:23. > :31:30.right in the bunker. The tree is in his way. A disappointing end to his

:31:31. > :31:33.round last night. Failed to get a birdie at the last and worrying

:31:34. > :31:39.times at the start of this final round. The world number three is off

:31:40. > :31:45.and running. Nobody making an impact on the opening page of that

:31:46. > :31:52.leaderboard. Jordan Spieth and Smylie Kaufman will be off at about

:31:53. > :31:56.quarter to eight your time. I wonder what will happen in the intervening

:31:57. > :32:01.period. It is time we talked contenders because of the name that

:32:02. > :32:06.-- names that are starting to move on that leaderboard. Matthew

:32:07. > :32:12.Fitpatrick for the tournament. Of those in the chasing pack, who would

:32:13. > :32:19.you expect might put a run together today? There is nobody up there that

:32:20. > :32:23.would surprise me if they made a run. Smylie Kaufman will be the one

:32:24. > :32:29.who will experience something new, something he has never experienced

:32:30. > :32:32.before on the first tee. The way he feels is going to be something he

:32:33. > :32:36.has never felt before. He will have to go to the School of hard knocks,

:32:37. > :32:42.or he will have to win all of the mental battles. He will -- he may

:32:43. > :32:46.come out on top. You have Danny Willett, the great English hope,

:32:47. > :32:54.Darren Clarke body was the best new European player... Lee Westwood as

:32:55. > :32:59.an opportunity. He has to be ready. There is a group of guys. Dustin

:33:00. > :33:05.Johnson, how excruciating would the walk beaver Dustin Johnson. Canny

:33:06. > :33:13.compartmentalise what happened to him at the US Open macro? -- can he.

:33:14. > :33:17.It is amazing what you can accomplish when you do not care who

:33:18. > :33:25.gets the credit. That is what Jordan Spieth reminds me of when he says

:33:26. > :33:30.we. There is one young man up there, Hideki Matsuyama. If he were to pull

:33:31. > :33:36.this off for Japan, it would be an absolutely monstrous story. Japan

:33:37. > :33:43.has always been very keen on the Gulf. It is most of the most popular

:33:44. > :33:47.sport there is. It would be so big. He would be a multi-,

:33:48. > :33:52.multi-millionaire. He would be the first male golfer to win a major

:33:53. > :33:58.championship. Brilliant for Asian golf. It would give it a big boost.

:33:59. > :34:03.It is always doing well. A Japanese player winning the Masters, it does

:34:04. > :34:12.not get any better. No Japanese man has won a major. They did win a

:34:13. > :34:17.senior major. There is so much riding on it for Japan. What about

:34:18. > :34:23.one for the old boys? How about Bernhard Langer? Canny win a third

:34:24. > :34:42.green jacket? -- can he win.

:34:43. > :34:49.He is 58 years old, trying to become the oldest major history -- winner

:34:50. > :34:53.in history by some ten years. The facets of his game, he gave up

:34:54. > :35:01.something like between 40 and 60 yards off the tee to Jason Day every

:35:02. > :35:05.single hole and still outscored him. He was 60 yards short of just --

:35:06. > :35:12.Dustin Johnson's driving distance lead. I do not know how you give

:35:13. > :35:16.that up but still beat a guy. He is a different duck. He is still

:35:17. > :35:23.flexible, he still works out. Monty said the other day he has won 90

:35:24. > :35:30.tying -- 99 times and he prepares as if he has never won once. This was a

:35:31. > :35:37.highlight yesterday. He lives his life, he plays the game of golf. He

:35:38. > :35:40.has a moral authority in the way he thinks and the way he lives his

:35:41. > :35:44.life. There is great peace and comfort in that. He is fully capable

:35:45. > :35:54.of winning today. I know when push comes to shove, he knows deep down

:35:55. > :35:59.inside he knows how to do it. He has said a 50 plus -year-old golfer will

:36:00. > :36:06.win a major. It could be him. As the champions tour extended the

:36:07. > :36:10.longevity of the older players? -- has. There is no doubt about it. I

:36:11. > :36:18.have got a few stories about Bernard. We have played a few times

:36:19. > :36:28.together. He was the first to get a fitness plan on the European tour.

:36:29. > :36:34.-- van. He loves to get his hand in the cookie jar. It drives him on.

:36:35. > :36:41.His determination, his discipline, his control. He has never hit a

:36:42. > :36:46.single shot without trying 100%. He knows exactly what to do. He was the

:36:47. > :36:50.first player to have a 63 wedge in Europe. He has pushed the

:36:51. > :36:59.boundaries. He has still got the long putter. You can tell when the

:37:00. > :37:06.putts, his upper hand, if you watch it, it moves. It moves. It is not

:37:07. > :37:11.stuck there. It is not always what you accomplish that matters,

:37:12. > :37:15.sometimes it is what you overcome. Bernhard Langer has overcome massive

:37:16. > :37:21.yips during his career. It is a mind melt when that happens. By the way,

:37:22. > :37:26.Ernie Els finished 16th in putting after the first couple of rounds,

:37:27. > :37:32.which I found remarkable. You would figure he would finish last! Langer

:37:33. > :37:40.has hobbies, too. He loves to snow ski. He loves to fish. He has got a

:37:41. > :37:44.great family. He still has this fortitude and desire to compete. The

:37:45. > :37:49.longevity is, I think, something that he will be noted in the end.

:37:50. > :37:53.There are a lot of people willing him on today in same way that people

:37:54. > :37:58.were willing Tom Watson on at Turnberry and he came so close to

:37:59. > :38:01.winning the Open. Plenty of golf at there. We can show you some shots

:38:02. > :38:08.that have been happening. This is for illegal for Henrik Larsson. He

:38:09. > :38:16.will not challenge this year. In it goes. There are a few out there. Ian

:38:17. > :38:20.Poulter felt some of the pins were accessible and we could see some

:38:21. > :38:30.good numbers. We will be seeing a lot more of a gentleman here.

:38:31. > :38:35.Bryson has made an amazing first go at the Masters. He went toe to toe

:38:36. > :38:41.with Jordan Spieth the first couple of days. He was went into the

:38:42. > :38:48.weekend in the final group. You really like this fellow? I do. I

:38:49. > :38:53.want to say out loud what I really think. He is on the right

:38:54. > :38:56.trajectory. What I want to say is he might already be the best player in

:38:57. > :39:01.the world. But he has got to prove that. I do not know of anybody who

:39:02. > :39:09.has ever come out more secure in what he is -- what he is trying to

:39:10. > :39:15.do. Here is Matthew Fitzpatrick. We have seen him already. I watched him

:39:16. > :39:23.hit several balls on the driving range today. He has made an

:39:24. > :39:29.absolutely stunning start on the European Tour. Ten top tens. He is

:39:30. > :39:36.for real. There is the real deal. Jordan Spieth going for back-to-back

:39:37. > :39:41.wins at Augusta. Just preparing himself. We have heard about

:39:42. > :39:45.Bernhard Langer. On the 30th anniversary of Augusta's oldest

:39:46. > :39:50.winner, Jack Nicklaus at the age of 46, will we get another veterinary

:39:51. > :39:59.writing the history books? This is how it looks. The right up-to-date

:40:00. > :40:08.leaderboard. Jordan preparing for his 45 tee off time. Langer out with

:40:09. > :40:14.Hideki Matsuyama. Jason Day and Johnson may do a -- will go out

:40:15. > :40:18.together. Will and Westwood is a very good pairing for the two

:40:19. > :40:25.arrangement. -- Danny Willett. Matthew Fitzpatrick continues to go

:40:26. > :40:29.well. The first couple of days he was last in the putting statistics.

:40:30. > :40:38.He obviously found something. Maybe he hasn't! You spoke too soon. He

:40:39. > :40:46.could not have left himself and easier putt. Beyond the flag today

:40:47. > :40:50.is very fast. He is coming to terms with the Greens. They are so fast

:40:51. > :40:56.you can get handcuffed on them. You feel and urgency. You get locked up.

:40:57. > :41:03.There is a feeling that you just want to two putt. Not from that

:41:04. > :41:10.range. It can lock you down if you are not comfortable. Some four

:41:11. > :41:17.footers, you are lagging them in. If you bash them in, you can go six

:41:18. > :41:25.feet past. That is a cracking start. It is indeed. Matthew going well.

:41:26. > :41:31.This is at the second. He decided at the start of the wiki was going to

:41:32. > :41:37.hit three wood here. He has gone for a driver. The wind will be a little

:41:38. > :41:43.bit down for him. I do not know if he can fly the bunker. He is playing

:41:44. > :41:51.a draw from the left hand of the tee. He is going to let it rip.

:41:52. > :41:57.Great golfers swing as hard as they want. Sometimes when you are singing

:41:58. > :42:04.-- swinging great, you want to swing as hard as you can. He missed by a

:42:05. > :42:08.yard of carrying that bunker. Brandt Snedeker. He has challenged here on

:42:09. > :42:17.a couple of occasions. He loves this place. He won at pebble Beach

:42:18. > :42:26.earlier this season. Once again he is challenging. Snedeker can get red

:42:27. > :42:35.hot on the greens, as we know. This was a earlier. This was the other

:42:36. > :42:41.amateur. Yes! Putting together the best round of the day, so far. This

:42:42. > :42:52.is his birdie putt at the 18th, the young man from France. Great to see

:42:53. > :42:58.him here. He is the British amateur champion. It has been good to see

:42:59. > :43:06.this young man give a very positive account of himself. There is the

:43:07. > :43:13.competition between the two of them. It looks as though Bryson to shamble

:43:14. > :43:21.is going to take that one. There is a lot that can happen. Your thoughts

:43:22. > :43:26.on the way the course has played this week? It has been a shock to

:43:27. > :43:31.the system for a lot of the players who have known benign conditions.

:43:32. > :43:37.This has changed some of their perceptions of how this can play?

:43:38. > :43:41.That is right. I got here early and the players were saying it was going

:43:42. > :43:45.to be really hard to shoot at the Greens. They mowed the Greens a

:43:46. > :43:49.couple of years ago when the grass was facing the putting servers. Now

:43:50. > :44:01.the grass is facing the fairway down towards the players. Two's B and

:44:02. > :44:05.three is a crowd. When you start factoring in the elements and the

:44:06. > :44:15.wind, that will krypton -- cripple a good player. Today the holes are

:44:16. > :44:20.causing great spots. I really look for some fantastic golf and some

:44:21. > :44:23.real excitement. 30 years ago, we have already celebrated one

:44:24. > :44:28.anniversary, but 30 years ago there was plenty of excitement. It was

:44:29. > :44:36.when the Golden Bear came out of his golfing hibernation to win a record

:44:37. > :44:41.sixth green jacket in 1986. 86 was a tournament that I did not expect to

:44:42. > :44:42.win. The players were not scared of me any more. They did not expect me

:44:43. > :45:23.to win. Yes, sir! I made the putt, I turned around and

:45:24. > :45:31.I was looking for my son. He had a smile on his face. And I wanted to

:45:32. > :45:37.hug him. Dad turns to me, eye to lie. He is not looking at anybody

:45:38. > :45:42.else. He gave me a great smile and a hub that I will always remember. You

:45:43. > :45:45.then take all of the wins you want, that was more special than any of

:45:46. > :45:49.them. It has been hard to escape this week

:45:50. > :45:52.because US television has been running documentaries on it all

:45:53. > :45:57.week. Your perspective on that and how much of a surprise the victory

:45:58. > :46:03.was? He was still a marvellous player. Seve Ballesteros gave him a

:46:04. > :46:08.little help on the 18th. But when Jack realised he had a chance, he

:46:09. > :46:11.knew how to take it. It was a very special masters. He had then and

:46:12. > :46:22.non-believable player. The greatest golfer that ever lived. -- he had

:46:23. > :46:27.been an unbelievable player. He knew exactly what he needed to do. When

:46:28. > :46:34.to take a chance, went to lay back. He knew what to do. He had done it

:46:35. > :46:38.before and he knew what to do. When the opportunity presented itself,

:46:39. > :46:43.Jack knew how to react. Great players are self-aware. He knows

:46:44. > :46:46.himself. Jordan will have that advantage today. He will no more

:46:47. > :46:52.than the guys that have not won the green jacket that are trailing stop

:46:53. > :46:59.with that thinking, that strategic thinking, do you see echoes of Jack

:47:00. > :47:06.Nicholas in Jordan Spieth? Yes, I think so. Strategically, Jordan

:47:07. > :47:16.Spieth, it is like that wave coming off the water. That is him. The

:47:17. > :47:20.other day I walked in the caddy area, his caddie was on the porch

:47:21. > :47:24.with Ben Crenshaw's caddie, they were going over the book. How they

:47:25. > :47:31.are going to play the course. Jordan is doing all the right things. He is

:47:32. > :47:36.smart. It will be fascinating to see how Smylie Kaufman coaxing his

:47:37. > :47:40.company. This is a massive day for this young man. Here he is warming

:47:41. > :47:50.up on the reins. Tea-time about half an hour away. -- tee time. These two

:47:51. > :47:56.have played against each other quite a lot in junior golf. He says there

:47:57. > :48:03.are about 1000 winds to Jordan, known to him. He is two years older

:48:04. > :48:08.than Jordan. Does he have the making of a champion? Yes, I think he does.

:48:09. > :48:13.He won in Las Vegas this year. If you can win at the highest level,

:48:14. > :48:19.you can win anywhere. There are some things will happen to him today. A

:48:20. > :48:28.good layup angle. The pin tucked behind the right bunker. He needs to

:48:29. > :48:34.make some birdies. If you are just marginally out here, it is a killer.

:48:35. > :48:40.Smile -- Smylie Kaufman is going to have to be conscious of his walking

:48:41. > :48:43.pace. You can control your heartbeat with your breathing. Snedeker has

:48:44. > :48:50.mixed a bunch of small putts this week. -- missed. He is hitting it

:48:51. > :48:56.well enough to stay on the leaderboard. Your heart can beat so

:48:57. > :48:59.hard, you can feel your pulse in your fingertips. How do you control

:49:00. > :49:08.that? That is what Smylie Kaufman will feel today. Emiliano Grillo.

:49:09. > :49:14.That is an interesting card. Level for the day. Pretty eventful. The

:49:15. > :49:18.front nine will be key to start with. You have got to turn in one

:49:19. > :49:25.under if you can. The back nine will offer something. Oosthuizen. What a

:49:26. > :49:35.player he is. He has been on super form recently. The wind is blowing

:49:36. > :49:43.in about ten to 15 mph. It is not insignificant. Shane Lowry going in

:49:44. > :49:49.with his second shot. That shot they make it look easy. It is so

:49:50. > :49:56.difficult. So many champions seem to be able to pull that shot off. Shane

:49:57. > :50:04.Lowry looks like he belongs. This fellow has never looked like he

:50:05. > :50:10.doesn't belong. Davis Love. That has just found the sand. So nice to see

:50:11. > :50:15.Larry Mize and Davis and Bernard Langer flying the flag for the older

:50:16. > :50:20.players. Three champions tour players made the cut this week. Adam

:50:21. > :50:33.Scott. Steve Williams on the bag. He is at the 12th. The

:50:34. > :50:45.par fives on the back nine offer some opportunity. You can play them

:50:46. > :50:55.in six, six, or three, three. That is right the first hole is downwind

:50:56. > :51:00.now. Patrick Reed, at one point he considered himself a top five

:51:01. > :51:04.player. He is certainly cracking the top ten. He is world number ten at

:51:05. > :51:12.the moment. He was such a force in the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. He was

:51:13. > :51:18.brash. He thought I was brash! This guy is brash. I like Patrick Reed's

:51:19. > :51:24.style. He is fearless. What a lovely golf swing he has. The world number

:51:25. > :51:30.one, Jason Day, onto the tee. So much expectation of him. He is

:51:31. > :51:37.trying to become a back-to-back major winner as well. He won the US

:51:38. > :51:40.PGA title last year. He is out with Dustin Johnson. There will be a lot

:51:41. > :51:48.of expectation on this particular pairing. The big hitters. It will be

:51:49. > :51:56.like a home run hitting contest. But in the end it will come down to

:51:57. > :52:03.touch for both. Lee Westwood with his second shot at the first. It is

:52:04. > :52:08.really important for him to get off to a good start. He is another guy,

:52:09. > :52:12.I feel for him. Obviously he is getting towards the end of his

:52:13. > :52:14.career now. It could be an excruciating thing mentally for a

:52:15. > :52:20.morally good embrace it and have this great calm and shoot a great

:52:21. > :52:23.score. Playing with Danny Willett. A nice pairing. They have been

:52:24. > :52:33.neighbours and buddies for a long time. Danny has been very under

:52:34. > :52:38.control this week. He is capable of getting in the mix. He will not be

:52:39. > :52:42.frightened. He is confident in his ability. He has been great on the

:52:43. > :52:47.greens. That is a great sign for his future. OK, we have got Danny with

:52:48. > :52:56.that birdie putt. A quick check on the leaderboard.

:52:57. > :53:02.Our American colleagues are ready and so are we. Good afternoon to

:53:03. > :53:09.Andrew Cotter and Peter Aliss. Thank you, Hazel. Are we in for a

:53:10. > :53:13.brilliant afternoon, or waylaid and a damp squib? The next four hours

:53:14. > :53:23.will give the story. Here is Bubba Watson. We have seen so many putts

:53:24. > :53:28.like that all week. A good round for Bubba Watson today. Not too bad

:53:29. > :53:36.compared to the rest of the tournament. He came in with high

:53:37. > :53:42.hopes. A lot of people thought he might well be the champion. We

:53:43. > :53:47.talked about a blemish free round for McIlroy. Already a bogey at the

:53:48. > :53:57.first. Here he has to get up and down for par. He thought it was

:53:58. > :54:06.going to go back a little bit. It is already untidy for McIlroy. Henrik

:54:07. > :54:15.Stenson was many people's favoured three days ago. Putting nicely,

:54:16. > :54:23.playing nicely today. -- favourite. Look at that. Eagle, birdie, birdie,

:54:24. > :54:32.but a six on 11. On the putting green going through a few final

:54:33. > :54:36.tinkerings. He is not anchoring. Look at that left hand. It is not

:54:37. > :54:46.touching his chest, so technically not anchoring. Not 1 million miles

:54:47. > :54:51.away thou! It is not stuck on his chest. Westwood at the first. Nice

:54:52. > :55:03.drive, good second. Just did not have a bounce forward. Struggling

:55:04. > :55:13.now. These greens are as difficult as I have ever seen them. The

:55:14. > :55:21.seventh, the 11th hour very fast. McIlroy taps one down. He has got

:55:22. > :55:27.it. That is a five, five start. Not what he wanted. He was looking for a

:55:28. > :55:37.burst on the opening few holes. So far it has not happened. Danny

:55:38. > :55:42.Willett. Randall and hop Kirke. -- hop Kirke. Playing alongside Lee

:55:43. > :55:59.Westwood today. A missed putt on the first hole for

:56:00. > :56:09.Danny Willett. Back to the first, Jason Day. He has only had 14 on

:56:10. > :56:13.this opening hole. Just a little moment. Meditation. Do not nod off.

:56:14. > :56:28.That is right. Now then. The bunker has been

:56:29. > :56:37.extended on the right, they have lengthened the tee. This is a

:56:38. > :56:43.formidable hole. It is very important to get off to a good

:56:44. > :56:56.start. That will be OK. A choice of three wood for Jason Day. Dustin

:56:57. > :56:57.Johnson now driving. Dustin Johnson also going with a three wood, I

:56:58. > :57:24.think. So Johnson and Jason Day are off and

:57:25. > :57:33.running. Good opening tee shots. Rory McIlroy at the third. And

:57:34. > :57:39.already cries of anguish. He is all right. I do not know why there was a

:57:40. > :57:47.cry of anguish. He is not far off the green. I think there was a

:57:48. > :57:58.helpful bounce of somebody. That was Westwood for par. Just the start you

:57:59. > :58:01.do not want. TheS are so fast, you almost feel as if there is no

:58:02. > :58:13.friction between the ball and the service. -- the greens. Fitzpatrick

:58:14. > :58:24.is going along nicely. Missed a four footer on the last for a birdie.

:58:25. > :58:32.That was never on line. A safe four. That was a par five. He, Justin Rose

:58:33. > :58:40.and Lee Westwood Warren top of the greens and regulations. -- were on

:58:41. > :58:52.top. Davis Love on the 12th. 152 today. Right-hand pin position. A

:58:53. > :58:56.good tee shot. The greens looked a little bit slower today, I thought

:58:57. > :59:01.but still running fairly briskly. Adam Scott, another favourite before

:59:02. > :59:10.the event began. Here he is on the 13th.

:59:11. > :59:20.He is in the woods. It might kick down. We were talking about the

:59:21. > :59:25.speed of the greens and Ken has been examining such a topic.

:59:26. > :59:30.Out early this morning they put this roll over the greens. They are

:59:31. > :59:35.pretty quick. They look quick. Let's see how quick they are. They are

:59:36. > :59:43.always fast at the Masters. On Sunday, normally quicker than ever.

:59:44. > :59:54.Let's have a go. She is on her way. That is quick. They are so fast this

:59:55. > :59:57.morning. They are rock-hard as well. Still rolling. It just keeps going.

:59:58. > :00:11.My goodness, they are swift. I do not know if that is the realms

:00:12. > :00:18.of common sense! Technically, that is not allowed. Do not try that at

:00:19. > :00:21.home. Bryson DeChambeau, in red, white and blue. He sometimes favours

:00:22. > :00:35.that. Trying to use the contours here. Hasn't he done well? Talking

:00:36. > :00:40.about players coming from behind and people suggest it can happen at the

:00:41. > :00:43.Masters, it does not happen that often at the Masters. Only three in

:00:44. > :00:53.the last 25 years have been outside the top two. The chat goes on

:00:54. > :01:07.between Jason Day... His caddy is also his coach.

:01:08. > :01:39.Well, it is tried its best to stop. Not a bad result. Playing partner,

:01:40. > :01:57.Dustin Johnson. Settle down. Just looking to find

:01:58. > :02:02.the right level of the green, both he and Day failing to do so. There

:02:03. > :02:08.has only been one Masters champion not inside the top ten after three

:02:09. > :02:13.rounds. That was in 1959. Came from tied 13. Dustin Johnson has come

:02:14. > :02:20.close. Leading going into the final round of the US Open in 2010. It

:02:21. > :02:24.went wrong in the final round, 82. Going well in Whistling Straits, he

:02:25. > :02:31.touched the sand and have that penalty. Close last year in the

:02:32. > :02:35.Majors as well. Amateur, Bryson DeChambeau. He thought he was on the

:02:36. > :02:44.move before he hit that but he got it in. Out in 35, one birdie, all

:02:45. > :02:55.pars. And the Frenchman, the British amateur champion, that five round of

:02:56. > :03:03.68. The walk of the leader, a long way, the practice ground, from the

:03:04. > :03:07.first tee. A walk to the body, a skip to the clubhouse and a walk to

:03:08. > :03:13.all that lies before you on the other side of the club house.

:03:14. > :03:21.Youngest two times champions. And Jordan Spieth would win that title,

:03:22. > :03:26.he is still just 22. Jack Nicolas, 25, Tiger Woods, 25, Seve

:03:27. > :03:30.Ballesteros, 26 and Horton Smith 27 when he won his second. Remarkable

:03:31. > :03:36.achievement if it were to happen for Jordan Spieth. Only his third

:03:37. > :03:40.Masters appearance. Second on his debut and he won it last year,

:03:41. > :03:45.leading again. Everybody was talking about his coach being back in town,

:03:46. > :03:48.he never does that, Cameron McCormac is always a way somewhere else at

:03:49. > :03:52.the weekend but he has summoned him back to work on things this morning.

:03:53. > :03:57.You wonder whether there is too much conversation and thought. But if it

:03:58. > :04:10.makes them feel confident and happy, it is fine. McIlroy. After that

:04:11. > :04:15.great drive, is not able... He was, this is his tee shot, I did not

:04:16. > :04:26.think it would reach the green. If this goes in, it will change things.

:04:27. > :04:30.Oh! Well, that is quite remarkable! We saw his tee shot going down the

:04:31. > :04:36.right, I did not think it had come all away round. I knew he had

:04:37. > :04:42.reached. It will be a birdie, Soren Kjeldsen at the 2nd. Good position

:04:43. > :04:58.to be, putting up the slope. A bit wide for the Dane. That is a par,

:04:59. > :05:05.par start for Soren Kjeldsen. The man of the moment, Bernhard.

:05:06. > :05:10.Bernhard Langer, quite a remarkable man. A very fine skier.

:05:11. > :05:46.Bernhard Langer! Well, he can hardly get to the hilt.

:05:47. > :05:55.And he has just found the light rough, that will be all right.

:05:56. > :06:00.Playing alongside Hideki Matsuyama. McIlroy for his birdie on the third.

:06:01. > :06:07.With his driver, he is really going for things today. A very short par

:06:08. > :06:15.four, birdie, he did not have won yesterday but one on the third here.

:06:16. > :06:23.-- one. Back to the first, Hideki Matsuyama. A very good-looking

:06:24. > :06:27.player. He was getting a little bit agitated towards the end of his

:06:28. > :06:31.round yesterday. You will notice when he completes the shot, the

:06:32. > :06:36.balance is not quite right. But watch how he finishes this tee shot.

:06:37. > :06:45.A slow rhythm back and right through.

:06:46. > :06:53.That was good. Posing for photographers. And he does look

:06:54. > :07:00.good, Peter. The wind has dropped. Three word of the first tee and if

:07:01. > :07:04.there is a slip from Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama might be the man to

:07:05. > :07:08.take advantage and the excitement in Japan would be huge at the prospect

:07:09. > :07:18.of Matsuyama winning the Masters. Paul Casey at the 7th.

:07:19. > :07:30.It is another one of the holes they have lengthened over the years. That

:07:31. > :07:36.could be good. This needs a little momentum to take it down and keep it

:07:37. > :07:42.going. And it has got it. Well done. A fine result for Paul Casey.

:07:43. > :07:47.1-under for his round and that would get him back to 2-under for the

:07:48. > :07:56.tournament. Danny Willett, unable to get on the green in two at the

:07:57. > :08:01.par-5. Just beyond the flag is good because it will go round. Go on, say

:08:02. > :08:10.the crowd! It just needs a little bit more. A friendly pin position,

:08:11. > :08:20.not much green but it feeds down if he can get it on the surface, a

:08:21. > :08:26.birdie putt two, four Danny Willett. -- the Danny Willett. Dustin

:08:27. > :08:43.Johnson, for a birdie at the 1st. , back, little sheep! Jason Day was

:08:44. > :08:51.studying fat because he has a similar putt. -- that. That was

:08:52. > :08:53.three or four feet off-line. I would be surprised if this does not start

:08:54. > :09:09.down the left. Look at where he is aiming. Almost

:09:10. > :09:20.halfway between the hole and the edge of the green. Just tickles it

:09:21. > :09:26.down. Is it going to turn? Well, it really did not want to but a better

:09:27. > :09:31.effort than Dustin Johnson's. I think they were both a little bit

:09:32. > :09:37.confused by that, playing alongside Danny Willett, Lee Westwood up ahead

:09:38. > :09:38.on the second. Just a little bit closer than the shot of Danny

:09:39. > :10:02.Willett. Just! Just! Johnson for his par at the 1st hole.

:10:03. > :10:12.Yes, he has got it in! One hole is ticked off.

:10:13. > :10:20.Henrik Stenson on the final hole. In, she goes! Henrik Stenson with

:10:21. > :10:24.that front nine of 34, a couple of birdies. A bogey on the eighth,

:10:25. > :10:28.birdie on the ninth and double-bogey on the 11th, but a good finish for

:10:29. > :10:35.Henrik Stenson, very tidy round. Casey at the 7th. This, to get a

:10:36. > :10:49.birdie. And he has done it, well done! That is a 2-over.

:10:50. > :10:57.At the top, you can see the top four names to get under way, still. Paul

:10:58. > :11:02.Casey sneaking onto the first page of the leaderboard, 2-under for his

:11:03. > :11:07.round. Back to 2-over for the tournament. Lowest round of the day

:11:08. > :11:13.is from the French amateur Romain Langasque. Rory McIlroy with that

:11:14. > :11:18.birdie on the third, back at where he started on two thirds macro

:11:19. > :11:26.alongside Lee Westwood. And here is McIlroy at the 4th. He and Jordan

:11:27. > :11:30.Spieth hit their shot into the left of the grandstand yesterday and he

:11:31. > :11:36.decided to go the other way. That could be out of bounds. 40 yards

:11:37. > :11:48.off-line. He really is in the doldrums. That is rather pathetic

:11:49. > :11:53.and sad. There will have to be a lot of rethinking here, Andrew. The out

:11:54. > :11:57.of bounds is very close to that bike right edge, but he bounded out

:11:58. > :12:08.there. Really going at the flag today. What a start from McIlroy.

:12:09. > :12:12.While, 170. A bit unfortunate. In that very first cut, no control. He

:12:13. > :12:18.does not generate the same clubhead speed as the big hitters, a tricky

:12:19. > :12:24.shot. On the key, and pitched on the downside as well. The best looking

:12:25. > :12:39.for the first also far. The result. He struggles. Spieth making his way

:12:40. > :12:41.to the first. Make way, make way! A little hug from his parents always

:12:42. > :13:20.to see him on his way. Oh, it has gone back down the hill,

:13:21. > :13:30.that has left a horrid shot. Lee Westwood on the second.

:13:31. > :13:36.Just coming around a little bit from the left. Just a little bit. More

:13:37. > :13:53.than that. Dropped a shot at the 1st. No birdie

:13:54. > :14:04.at the 2nd. Just inside the top ten. A gift. Chris Wood. From Bristol.

:14:05. > :14:21.Third shot to the par-5. Eighth hole. The pin on the front. Can it?

:14:22. > :14:25.It might, it is, it is trying. No. White seems to be the favourite

:14:26. > :14:33.colour here. It almost looks like a painter and decorator golf rioting!

:14:34. > :14:43.Ready to go and Jason Day studying this tee shot. -- golf outing. The

:14:44. > :14:46.same shot that Louis Oosthuizen had when he got an albatross. He tried

:14:47. > :14:55.to feed it in between those two bunkers. It was the all around to

:14:56. > :14:59.the hole, that is the plan. -- it will go all around. Trying to go

:15:00. > :15:09.straight at it, to the right, landing in the crowd. That really is

:15:10. > :15:17.30 yards! For class players, that really is a wild shot! I don't know

:15:18. > :15:24.what on Earth he was trained to do. -- trying. We flatter them so much,

:15:25. > :15:28.we expect them to use rifles. They are not using rifles. They brought

:15:29. > :15:33.the starting time forward five and it is. Seeing as they were 40

:15:34. > :15:38.minutes over yesterday. -- five minutes. Here we go.

:15:39. > :16:24.Jordan Spieth! Anxious. Is it a bunker? No, he is

:16:25. > :16:29.all right. And a three wood. A man playing alongside him, who would bet

:16:30. > :16:35.on Smylie Kaufman being in the last group?

:16:36. > :16:39.Smylie Kaufman! Still a youngster, two years older than Jordan Spieth

:16:40. > :16:45.and getting better every round, 73, 72, 69. Winning on his debut in 1979

:16:46. > :16:52.Fuzzy Zoeller. They are getting younger and

:16:53. > :17:05.younger! A good swing, this boy. A good boy. Good left arm.

:17:06. > :17:17.Anxious. Some applause. He has got away with that, between the bunker

:17:18. > :17:24.and the trouble on the right, so not too bad. A big drive. Danny Willett,

:17:25. > :17:47.his birdie attempt on the second. No. No pace at all, no conviction on

:17:48. > :17:56.that from Danny Willett. So, par. Back to the first, Langer.

:17:57. > :18:06.He has left himself an awful lot to do. And it has not stopped yet. No,

:18:07. > :18:13.it has. That is a pity. A good-looking second. Soren Kjeldsen,

:18:14. > :18:21.nobody is really making a move yet on the first and second. This is

:18:22. > :18:34.fast. But it is true as well. Soren Kjeldsen, he moves to level par.

:18:35. > :18:39.Three behind. We have seen some putts on the second green from long

:18:40. > :18:48.range. Now Langer. This would be sweet if he could get this in. Oh,

:18:49. > :18:57.he did not hit it. So an opening five which he really did not

:18:58. > :19:04.deserve. Shot dropped. We saw Matsuyama pacing around as well. A

:19:05. > :19:10.bit of something left for his par. This was his pitch. He is a long way

:19:11. > :19:16.below the green, it does not quite look like it. Langer landing a

:19:17. > :19:27.little bit on the downside. Hoping for it to come back. What? It did

:19:28. > :19:37.not come back! Jason Day, after that wild second to the par-5. Not on the

:19:38. > :19:45.green yet. So Danny Willett pitched to the third.

:19:46. > :20:01.Is that going to feed all the way around? No, pretty much the putt

:20:02. > :20:19.that Soren Kjeldsen just got. Matsuyama.

:20:20. > :20:43.Even with a gentle wind at the 1st, it is still proving to be a very

:20:44. > :20:47.hard hole. Now McIlroy, he hit a provisional, but he found his first

:20:48. > :20:54.ball was knocked out of bounds and he pitched to hear, this four par.

:20:55. > :21:12.-- is for a par. Spieth. Eyeing up his second shot to

:21:13. > :21:15.the 1st hole. You can just see the top of the flag to the right-hand

:21:16. > :21:28.side of the bunker, just in front of that tallest pine. For the ring

:21:29. > :21:35.away. -- fluttering away. Quite a big hump right in front of the hole.

:21:36. > :21:40.Has he hit the green on the right? No he has not. He wanted it to go to

:21:41. > :21:53.the right, trying his best, but it stuck. Lee Westwood, his second to

:21:54. > :21:56.this short par four. Tucked down on the left. The green falls down

:21:57. > :22:25.towards the flag. That is very good. McIlroy. At the 4th. Another shot

:22:26. > :22:31.dropped. One birdie. Two bogeys. Smylie Kaufman, a good, clean

:22:32. > :22:40.stance, despite that wayward tee shot. It is a long way up there. He

:22:41. > :22:49.is able to get this to stop coming in with this club. Wonder. From

:22:50. > :22:53.Smylie Kaufman! Daunted? Not a bit. A little puff of the cheeks. Chris

:22:54. > :23:15.Wood, to the ninth. Spin it. No, he just went forward.

:23:16. > :23:21.That is the look of the draw. Dustin Johnson, for his four on the second.

:23:22. > :23:22.A similar putt to the one of Danny Willett and he also leaves it out to

:23:23. > :23:38.the right. He does saunter around, Dustin

:23:39. > :23:47.Johnson. He just strolls and occasionally pauses to hit a shot.

:23:48. > :23:57.In for a five but disappointing for a man of his distance. Solid start,

:23:58. > :24:05.a couple of pars. Johnson could get to the third. This was Day, just off

:24:06. > :24:13.the green. He ends up with a par-5 also.

:24:14. > :24:20.Now, this was McIlroy, the invisible man. Out of a hedge at the back of

:24:21. > :24:25.the fourth. We thought he had gone out of bounds, it was very close,

:24:26. > :24:33.just in bounds, pitched out. The crowd loved it. But he could not

:24:34. > :24:43.escape with a par. Brief moments of gravity. -- gravity. Paul Casey at

:24:44. > :25:00.the 8th. Two good shots. This is a test. Difficult shot. Very tricky.

:25:01. > :25:06.That is Jordan Spieth out in front, but a very strong working start from

:25:07. > :25:12.Smylie Kaufman with a very short birdie putt. Soren Kjeldsen with his

:25:13. > :25:16.birdie on the first. Level par. Hideki Matsuyama dropping a shot at

:25:17. > :25:19.the 1st. Paul Casey has just birdied the seventh. What now for Spieth?

:25:20. > :25:29.The chance of a tree. -- three. Heading left. Still a bit to do

:25:30. > :26:01.there. Back to Spieth at the 1st. That was a bit tentative. Three feet

:26:02. > :26:21.short. He might soon have company at the

:26:22. > :26:27.top of the leaderboard. Lee Westwood at the 3rd. The ball in behind. Can

:26:28. > :26:37.he find his three? Smylie Kaufman. This for a birdie.

:26:38. > :27:06.Cracking start if this goes in. It was always left, wasn't it? It is

:27:07. > :27:09.left. It just caught the edge. It spins out. Disappointment,

:27:10. > :27:31.disappointment. Again, this is the distance which is

:27:32. > :27:35.right on the edge of his, shall I looked at the hole or not when I am

:27:36. > :27:41.hitting the ball? From about four feet and then three feet. And then

:27:42. > :27:54.he will look at the hole. While he is making his stroke.

:27:55. > :28:09.Not happy. He does tend to back off quite a bit until he is entirely

:28:10. > :28:16.satisfied. This for a par. He did look at the hole and in it went and

:28:17. > :28:23.Jordan Spieth starts with a par-4. Almost like a birdie, Andrew. After

:28:24. > :28:29.the trials and tribulations we have seen at this opening hole. This for

:28:30. > :28:42.a part, I think it is a little bit longer than the first. -- a par.

:28:43. > :29:09.Danny Willett for his par. That is a good-looking stroke. Danny Willett

:29:10. > :29:12.three pars to start and that is making ground, he is in a tie for

:29:13. > :29:38.third. Paul Casey. At the 8th. Three British players in the top ten

:29:39. > :29:45.in the Westwood, Paul Casey and Danny Willett, and here is an

:29:46. > :29:49.Irishman, in Shane Lowry. The 16th, familiar pin position. Get it up to

:29:50. > :29:56.about their hands feed down. They like it, he does! Shane Lowry! A

:29:57. > :30:02.hole-in-one at the 16th! Raise those arms in celebration. Shane Lowry

:30:03. > :30:16.joins the list of people who have hit a hole-in-one at the Masters.

:30:17. > :30:21.What a moment, Peter. Oh! Is a great shot, good fortune, just got the

:30:22. > :30:28.right spin. In in one. That smart and your score up! A nice easy swing

:30:29. > :30:34.off the tee. Familiar looking swing. The middle of the green, this is

:30:35. > :30:38.going. It will hit the ridge and then start to go down. You wonder

:30:39. > :30:44.whether it has enough power to reach. It keeps going and then it's

:30:45. > :30:56.a dead cert. Look at that. A beauty. A real beauty. You get a nice bit of

:30:57. > :31:04.crystal for any eagle here at Augusta. Hideki Matsuyama. Is he

:31:05. > :31:06.going to try and use the contours? That's unfortunate. He wanted that

:31:07. > :31:34.to hop up and feed all the way down. The second tee, Jordan Spieth. Two

:31:35. > :31:35.pars and one birdie. A bit of a blind tee shot. You knock it down

:31:36. > :32:05.over the hill. Good bound down the hill. Good shot.

:32:06. > :32:11.Quite a long way down there with a 3-wood as well. Dustin Johnson is

:32:12. > :32:18.having a cut at the 3rd green. He likes it. It should just kick down

:32:19. > :32:24.from the right-hand side. We saw McIlroy getting there. Going to take

:32:25. > :32:36.out Lee Westwood! Too much club from Dustin. Not a great place to be,

:32:37. > :32:40.though, there. The 4th hole. Kjeldsen comes out of the bunker.

:32:41. > :32:51.What a fantastic shot. Beautiful shot. Smylie Kaufman on the second

:32:52. > :32:53.tee. Watch this T-shirt and then you will hear from Ken Brown and Paul

:32:54. > :33:01.Azinger. COMMENTATOR: Smylie Kaufman got a

:33:02. > :33:05.good taste of reality of what it's like being in the big leagues is an

:33:06. > :33:39.hole number one. Second shot of Jason Day's, at the

:33:40. > :33:43.3rd. Started with two pars. This is as high a tariff shot as you will

:33:44. > :33:48.get. Slender bit of green and it looks like he will be going down to

:33:49. > :33:53.the right side. The flag is on, five yards to the front of the green and

:33:54. > :34:00.six behind it. It's already louder out here, Ken. The holes were cut in

:34:01. > :34:04.a little more generous spots today to add to the excitement of the

:34:05. > :34:12.final round of the Masters. It's one of these shots where you have to

:34:13. > :34:15.decide, are you going to take this Tigerish pin all play it a bit

:34:16. > :34:21.deeper? It's one of the places at Augusta you want to try and avoid at

:34:22. > :34:26.all costs, but now that he's here... Good sound. Yes, that's a pretty

:34:27. > :34:31.good shot. See how far right he had to aim. That's only about eight

:34:32. > :34:37.yards wide on the narrowest part. If you come up short, it rolls 50 yards

:34:38. > :34:44.down the hill. At eight, Bernhard Langer feathering his third into the

:34:45. > :34:48.second, a delightful shot. Always been a marvellous wedge player,

:34:49. > :34:56.judges distances so well. He has that for a birdie. Chris Wood. Look

:34:57. > :35:02.at this one. Look where he is aiming. It looks like he's playing

:35:03. > :35:09.for the bunker. Down the ninth. It's just unbelievable. Very nice. Super

:35:10. > :35:21.touch. McIlroy, just in the pine straw.

:35:22. > :35:27.Watch his feet here, make sure he doesn't slip. Difficult second shot.

:35:28. > :35:34.Well, maybe a little bit of a slip on the right foot. Yeah, and he's...

:35:35. > :35:57.Extremely deep bunker there. The 4th hole is playing 228 yards

:35:58. > :36:02.today to an awfully tricky pin. Beauty, the wind helping. The MH370

:36:03. > :36:05.must be 102 yards. Good shot for Danny

:36:06. > :36:32.Lee Westwood will try to follow will it -- follow Danny Willett's ball to

:36:33. > :36:41.the right. Will it carry? Always got a big smile on his face but he has

:36:42. > :36:47.got something to smile about here. Tremendous ovation as he wanders up

:36:48. > :36:49.the 16th to plug his ball out of the cup.

:36:50. > :37:04.CHUCKLES He's going to put that one in the

:37:05. > :37:14.trophy cabinet. Chris Wood here to clear up on nine. Good two putt.

:37:15. > :37:21.Wonderful touch. Unfortunate, that, at the 3rd, taking seven.

:37:22. > :37:28.Matsuyama for eagle here at two. Two over on his round. Bogeyed the 1st

:37:29. > :37:52.hole. No. After a massive tee shot, Dustin

:37:53. > :37:53.Johnson has played an absolute gem. Keeps trickling on, marvellous,

:37:54. > :38:05.marvellous shot. So delicate. Not an overly difficult shot here

:38:06. > :38:10.for the players at this level. He made that look pretty easy, but look

:38:11. > :38:16.at it go. Just that extra foot or two.

:38:17. > :38:32.Jason Day, from a long way away here. Blazing fast down the hill.

:38:33. > :38:37.Has he done it? APPLAUSE

:38:38. > :38:57.That is a dam good putt. Matsuyama, for his nice and neat

:38:58. > :39:07.tidy birdie at the 2nd. Move back to where he started. Beautiful look at

:39:08. > :39:17.the 2nd hole, the second shot of Jordan Spieth. Going with a long

:39:18. > :39:25.iron. It's going to just roll on. It will feed to the right. Will it

:39:26. > :39:31.reach? Yes! That's going to be right about where Matsuyama parted from a

:39:32. > :39:35.short time ago. There are a good shot. From here it doesn't that like

:39:36. > :39:43.he can get to that. A huge swing from left to right. Well, I don't

:39:44. > :39:51.think he can hole this by the flag but there is a little tee he could

:39:52. > :39:59.run this up and it might come back. Go on, it should do. Go on, run out

:40:00. > :40:04.a little. But outstanding. Very nearly back into the cup.

:40:05. > :40:11.Rory, now. Getting to the point of being critical for him to hole

:40:12. > :40:19.those. You think that's not fast. Whoa! Still going. Well, I get the

:40:20. > :40:23.feeling Rory is going to have to run the tables from here on out.

:40:24. > :40:48.Billy Horschel's third shot at eight. I had a feeling he was going

:40:49. > :40:56.to do something special! There have been some cheers today at Augusta,

:40:57. > :41:00.after three days of almost silenced because of the wind. A lot of action

:41:01. > :41:15.today. That is a really classy bit of play.

:41:16. > :41:22.He could have been goaded into going for the pin. He played to the right

:41:23. > :41:25.and played two sensible putts. It's a bit like playing snooker,

:41:26. > :41:30.sometimes you have to play a defensive shot. Danny Willett hit a

:41:31. > :41:35.marvellous shot to get on this green in regulation. The 4th hole playing

:41:36. > :41:39.228 yards today. Look at all the break he's got to play with, to try

:41:40. > :41:47.to feed this down. That's not a gimme.

:41:48. > :41:55.Rory. He's done it. He made life difficult for himself. Three bogeys

:41:56. > :42:06.on the card and just the one birdie, at the 3rd. Smylie Kaufman drove it

:42:07. > :42:12.into the fairway bunker here at two. There are a lot of place to -- ways

:42:13. > :42:17.to play this. You can go right at it. It's going right. Great shot.

:42:18. > :42:27.That will be right up the hill, almost straight. Good opportunity

:42:28. > :42:33.for Smiley here as in the two. This is what faces the players, the cut

:42:34. > :42:38.over the right-hand bunker. You can just about see it. A four iron. That

:42:39. > :42:58.is a Mile High. We will see if Dustin Johnson can

:42:59. > :43:04.follow up that missed putt with a good shot. Sure he had a lot of

:43:05. > :43:08.conversation with himself between the green and this tee box. Going to

:43:09. > :43:22.be sensible here. He's liking it. Is it going to make

:43:23. > :43:36.the carry? Is a little unlucky, Paul. What a shot.

:43:37. > :43:45.Take a lot of risks there with not much reward. Now look where he is

:43:46. > :43:51.aiming, Paul Casey. Good grief, a 90 degrees angle away from the whole,

:43:52. > :44:06.it looks like. 15 footer parts that travel 40 feet. Surely not! Well, I

:44:07. > :44:09.don't know how you can judge it a whole lot better than that! That is

:44:10. > :44:29.one of those that you only get here. The short sixth. Cracking looking

:44:30. > :44:34.hole. Oh! Rory has missed the shelf. The pin is on this sort of upturned

:44:35. > :44:52.ruck on the back corner of the green, playing 188 yards today.

:44:53. > :45:00.Now, if you look at it from here, you wouldn't think he had any chance

:45:01. > :45:09.to get this close. You see where he is looking, way up to the left on

:45:10. > :45:13.the right-hand side of the screen. Everybody in the field knows that

:45:14. > :45:15.the hole will be cut there at one point during the week and they

:45:16. > :45:42.practised this putt, actually. APPLAUSE

:45:43. > :45:52.That is well done. Yesterday Rory had a hard time lagging is any putts

:45:53. > :46:00.close enough to gimme range. He was grinding everything yesterday. The

:46:01. > :46:02.wind swirling. Matsuyama has one of his wedges in hand and he is giving

:46:03. > :46:18.it the big, high Spinney one. Six on from the front and then five

:46:19. > :46:18.behind. You have got this little hollow, very treacherous, thin bit

:46:19. > :46:46.of parting surface. Oh yes, well done! Smylie Kaufman

:46:47. > :46:52.makes birdie here at the 2nd and is currently tied for the lead with

:46:53. > :46:56.Jordan Spieth, if only for a moment. You can't see the slope that Rory is

:46:57. > :47:01.going to come up very easily here, but this hole is cut probably eight

:47:02. > :47:07.feet higher than where he is putting from. So hard to judge. He has done

:47:08. > :47:31.very well, hasn't he? Nicely judged. Day one, he holed virtually

:47:32. > :47:38.everything you looked at. Day two, he missed a few chances. Day three

:47:39. > :47:43.yesterday, he scrambled his way around. Now he is looking at one

:47:44. > :47:46.from this sort of range. APPLAUSE

:47:47. > :47:56.. Some player, this kid. Only 22 years

:47:57. > :48:06.old. Two major Championships already. I guess all his mistakes

:48:07. > :48:16.seem like learning experiences or something, for Jordan Spieth.

:48:17. > :48:21.Amazing, amazing young man. Birdies coming up short. Once you get on

:48:22. > :48:24.this hole, if you can come back short quickly... Got a hogs back in

:48:25. > :48:36.the centre of it as well. He has got to do the tightrope here

:48:37. > :48:46.and he has fallen off the right side of it. A sweeping putt. Very nicely

:48:47. > :48:49.judged. If you are a little bit out of launch, that could have finished

:48:50. > :48:53.six to eight feet away no trouble at all. Kjeldsen, up the hill at the

:48:54. > :49:29.5th. Goes through his routine. Right

:49:30. > :49:43.edge, just inside right. Excellent. Excellent. Two putt. All pars to

:49:44. > :49:45.start with the Jason Day. Here's a fast one, Matsuyama. This is

:49:46. > :50:06.probably 25 on the Stimpmeter. Bright future here. I love this golf

:50:07. > :50:14.swing of Matsuyama. Always in control.

:50:15. > :50:22.I think this is a good decision for Jordan, hitting an iron here. He has

:50:23. > :50:26.gone with a driver on each of the first three days but with the pin on

:50:27. > :50:30.the left-hand side of the screen, it's virtually impossible to get it

:50:31. > :50:34.close. He has targeted a bit. Oh! It's perfect!

:50:35. > :50:50.-- he has tugged it. A bit easier putt than Jason Day's, Dustin

:50:51. > :50:56.Johnson. Heating up the top of the tee. -- he can go up the top of the

:50:57. > :51:13.tee. I like this decision for Smylie.

:51:14. > :51:19.Even though it's not match he's just going to match Jordan Spieth on the

:51:20. > :51:25.fairway. Into the straw. That just adds to the difficulty. Danny

:51:26. > :51:28.Willett is far enough away from this big, steep bank to just about...

:51:29. > :51:35.It's one of those ones where you have to take a risk. Second to the

:51:36. > :51:41.fifth, do you carry it to the front? Very good shot. This two level

:51:42. > :51:48.green, there is like a sort of tongue that sticks out into the

:51:49. > :51:52.tier. I watched Fitzpatrick warm up this morning and he hit a lot of

:51:53. > :51:57.shots cross handed. I'm not sure I know what that's all about, Ken. I

:51:58. > :52:05.think it's one of Pete Coward's drills. I have seen Danny Willett do

:52:06. > :52:10.that a bit as well. It's the early stages of the final round of the

:52:11. > :52:16.80th masters. This is how it all looks. Jordan Spieth leads by one

:52:17. > :52:21.from Smylie Kaufman. Great start from Soren Kjeldsen. Let's take

:52:22. > :52:33.another look at the 3rd shot of Billy Horschel. And inviting pin

:52:34. > :52:40.placement here. What a shock! It's just so thrilling to see that

:52:41. > :52:45.happen, especially here. Cherished moments, as you plod along through

:52:46. > :52:49.your career there are plenty of moments to cherish, Ken, I suppose,

:52:50. > :52:54.as we look back and reflect. This golf course is steeped in history.

:52:55. > :53:00.It was designed by Bobby Jones, who won the Grand Slam in 1930 and

:53:01. > :53:03.McKenzie, who was born in Leeds. They got together because they liked

:53:04. > :53:09.the same types of courses. The course was built in 1932. Wonderful

:53:10. > :53:13.picture of Bobby Jones, here he is, the great man. Playing up the eighth

:53:14. > :53:17.fairway as it was created in 1932. It was finished in May and it was

:53:18. > :53:22.seeded and they were playing on it in August. This is how it looks

:53:23. > :53:25.today. Not very different really, apart from the trees have got a bit

:53:26. > :53:29.longer. In the early days the bunker was in the middle of the fairway and

:53:30. > :53:34.now it is down the right side. There is how it looks. He was testing to

:53:35. > :53:38.see how far his 3-wood would go up the fairway and where the landing

:53:39. > :53:42.area was. It was an American and an Englishman who designed the course,

:53:43. > :53:49.Jones and McKenzie. This is what it looks like today, not dissimilar.

:53:50. > :54:00.COMMENTATOR: Bernhard Langer for birdie here at the 3rd. That is too

:54:01. > :54:12.bad! Still just goes that extra few inches here to make the next one, a

:54:13. > :54:18.knee knocker as well. Just tiptoed over the back of the third green,

:54:19. > :54:19.Lee Westwood, going with a putter. Through the valley and uphill a

:54:20. > :54:41.little bit. This is a nightmare start for

:54:42. > :54:42.Bernhard, bogey, par, double bogey. That is about as cross as he ever

:54:43. > :54:58.gets. Up the terrace here for Danny

:54:59. > :55:04.Willett. Looking a bit brown in patches, the green. Part of it has

:55:05. > :55:11.dried out a bit. Lovely service. Up the hill and then down the other

:55:12. > :55:21.side. -- lovely surface. He is very still on his putts. Trying its best

:55:22. > :55:26.to run out. Gorgeous touch, so easy to chase that three and a half feet

:55:27. > :55:37.by. Very nice, Danny. Five holes, five pars. American Ryder Cup

:55:38. > :55:44.captain, Davis love. I wonder why we're watching this, I wonder if

:55:45. > :55:50.this is something special. 7-iron. 16 fold today playing 181 yards. Pin

:55:51. > :56:07.placement over here on the left. Watch this! Come on! He's got it!

:56:08. > :56:22.Davis! Ho ho ho! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:56:23. > :56:30.An amazing atmosphere down there. It echoes among the trees when the

:56:31. > :56:36.crowds cheer down there. Jordan Spieth, he's gone right at it! Will

:56:37. > :56:38.it stay? Oh my goodness, that is just two or three inches from going

:56:39. > :56:56.30 or 40 yards down the hill! Man! Matsuyama, who can hit massive,

:56:57. > :57:04.high, towering irons. He is at the 4th, 228 yards. A 5-iron, he will

:57:05. > :57:13.give it a wallop. He may hit it as high as anyone in the game today,

:57:14. > :57:18.Matsuyama. As Ken noted earlier, there is a backstop there and now

:57:19. > :57:29.Smylie Kaufman from the pine straw. He almost had to go right at this,

:57:30. > :57:34.Ken. It is an extremely dangerous shot. Rory McIlroy's second at

:57:35. > :57:40.seven. If he gets it right, this will gather to the hole side. Bound

:57:41. > :57:48.to come back. It's just drifted the wrong way. Every little helps. Two

:57:49. > :57:55.delightful approaches there. This is eight dangerous shot here. Always

:57:56. > :58:01.watch their feet in the straw, see if they can keep their footing. Will

:58:02. > :58:04.it be the right distance? No, down there where Dustin Johnson was

:58:05. > :58:09.earlier. Actually come a worse. Going to have to land it two or

:58:10. > :58:22.three or four hops into the fringe grass before it gets on the green.

:58:23. > :58:25.Horrible place to end up. Soren Kjeldsen, a little chip up the bank

:58:26. > :58:38.on the six'. He usually tells me a little story

:58:39. > :58:41.about dumbing Peter has said and giggles away to himself, Soren

:58:42. > :58:46.Kjeldsen acrobatic space! Let's have another look at Davis's shot here at

:58:47. > :58:57.16. This really could be a sign of

:58:58. > :59:05.things to come for this afternoon, for these players! They know the

:59:06. > :59:09.ball feeds down that hill. The lady in the pink in the background, I

:59:10. > :59:20.think she enjoyed it more than he did! What a moment. He's had plenty

:59:21. > :59:29.of great moments. To add to the list, the

:59:30. > :59:38.-- the one at 16, on Sunday at the Masters.

:59:39. > :59:51.The cheers ringing round the golf course.

:59:52. > :00:06.Just automatic. Very nice, Soren. Perfect start. Diminutive man, but

:00:07. > :00:08.makes absolutely the most of his game. Let's see what Paul Casey can

:00:09. > :00:27.do here on ten. Well, carry on. Not bad. Not his

:00:28. > :00:33.best, but not bad. He has a chance to save par from there. Rory for his

:00:34. > :00:37.birdie at the 7th and he desperately needs one, and he's done it. Bah

:00:38. > :00:46.five to come. Certainly within range for him with a couple of big biffs.

:00:47. > :00:53.He needs a magical spell. The highly touted Danny Willett, at the 6th.

:00:54. > :00:59.Straight down the hill. 188 yards and the hole is positioned on the

:01:00. > :01:04.right flat. Time tiny little landing area. Though that stay there? It

:01:05. > :01:13.has. Great opportunity for Danny Willett. The 10th, Paul Casey. Up

:01:14. > :01:22.the slope, a little from the right. Out in 34, two under. He needs it.

:01:23. > :01:29.That is such a nice little boost going into Amen Corner. Now, Smylie

:01:30. > :01:36.Kaufman. This is a dangerous shot as well, here. That's very likely to be

:01:37. > :01:41.the result, to come up short. Five feet by the hole, it can trickle all

:01:42. > :01:47.the way down the green and 30 yards down the other side.

:01:48. > :01:56.Jason Day has found some problems off the tee. Probably found the

:01:57. > :02:05.bunker off the tee. Horrible bounce. Moved it to feet too far. Just

:02:06. > :02:11.carried the top of it and off it scoots. Matsuyama's position here on

:02:12. > :02:15.four. He surely has to use the mound behind the hole here to have any

:02:16. > :02:26.chance of getting this close. He just loves this lie. OK. That should

:02:27. > :02:30.come all the way back. That might have enough pace to reach, but what?

:02:31. > :02:44.Oh no! This is Lee Westwood, tee-shot on

:02:45. > :03:03.the way at six. Currently six shots behind Jordan

:03:04. > :03:08.Spieth. He will need that birdie. Now, Dustin Johnson, up the slope.

:03:09. > :03:14.He has come up to this little buttress of a green that sticks out

:03:15. > :03:29.towards the front. Up it comes. Or does it? Not enough. Stay there,

:03:30. > :03:40.Dustin. He will be gutted about that, as a player. There is that

:03:41. > :04:00.little over buttressed that sticks up that is a little timid,

:04:01. > :04:12.Paul. We didn't see much of that yesterday. He was wondering that the

:04:13. > :04:17.first time. You can't take a shot off here at Augusta National or pay

:04:18. > :04:29.a heavy price. That sounded heavy. Again! Yes, exactly.

:04:30. > :04:38.You wouldn't think... You wouldn't think a player at this level could

:04:39. > :04:40.miscue that much with a wedge, but it will scare you to death, I tell

:04:41. > :04:52.you. My goodness. Smylie Kaufman. Look how fast this

:04:53. > :04:58.is. Some of that is inexperienced, plain and simple. You just can't

:04:59. > :05:15.know it's that fast until you've been here a couple of times. Shane

:05:16. > :05:21.Lowry looking to finish things off after that special moment he had at

:05:22. > :05:32.the 16th. Shane Lowry, 75. Damage done yesterday.

:05:33. > :05:50.We're finished, let's go home. This is a huge putt for Smylie. Beautiful

:05:51. > :05:57.speed, beautiful effort. Back to 2-under par. Jordan Spieth faced

:05:58. > :06:05.with a little knee knocker here at the 3rd. First, Danny Willett.

:06:06. > :06:11.Lovely tee-shot, just hung on to the edge of that table top and takes

:06:12. > :06:15.advantage. Two, for Danny Willett. Moves to 1-under par, three behind

:06:16. > :06:26.Jordan Spieth. Five pars, one birdie. Great stuff. All pars so far

:06:27. > :06:30.here for Jason Day. Quite the achievement if he could make par

:06:31. > :06:36.now. Looks like the first bogey of the round. Quite a view players are

:06:37. > :06:39.just struggling a bit, treading water, trying to keep pace with this

:06:40. > :06:49.man. Let's see how he manages this one. Superb. Absolutely in the

:06:50. > :06:56.middle of the hole. He did not look at the hole there, either. Can you

:06:57. > :06:59.imagine arguably the best player in the world, ranked number two in the

:07:00. > :07:07.world, can't even look at his ball on those three footers. Still with

:07:08. > :07:14.an opportunity here, Matt Fitzpatrick.

:07:15. > :07:22.Started so brightly with birdies on the second and third, but just

:07:23. > :07:26.falling back a bit. Lee Westwood with a real opportunity here for

:07:27. > :07:36.birdie. He will put this right on top for Danny Willett. Yes! He knew

:07:37. > :07:41.it! Now only 1-over and five shots off Jordan Spieth's lead. Both these

:07:42. > :07:47.players are positioned nicely. Three or four holes ahead of the leaders

:07:48. > :07:51.with the ability to post a score. Jamie Donaldson playing with Matt

:07:52. > :08:00.Fitzpatrick. Birdie, but the Welshman. Well, the Macclesfield

:08:01. > :08:05.Welshman. In it goes. A few more putts going in now and more noise

:08:06. > :08:10.around the course which is good to see, a sign of what might happen

:08:11. > :08:11.later in the round. The greens of course always so difficult we sent

:08:12. > :08:22.Ken out to have a look. Aren't these bunkers are fantastic

:08:23. > :08:28.at this golf course. Huge expanse of sand. This is the one on the right

:08:29. > :08:34.and it covers the area from 275-320. It is the way the sand, the white

:08:35. > :08:40.sand and Deluxe Erie and green grass, they're so impressive, like a

:08:41. > :08:45.big jigsaw piece. I've got my bones out as someone describe them last

:08:46. > :08:49.year. When they built this cause there were only 22 bunkers. Let's

:08:50. > :08:52.have a look, this is number eight. These are the holes all laid out in

:08:53. > :09:00.order and there is that fairway bunker. There is no fairway bunker

:09:01. > :09:05.on nine. 12 is a short hole, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. The next fairway bunkers

:09:06. > :09:09.are on the 18th. Off the tee, Augusta particularly on the back

:09:10. > :09:10.nine has got virtually no fairway bunkers. From number eight to number

:09:11. > :09:23.18, there's none of them. A look at the 8th hole that Jordan

:09:24. > :09:28.Spieth will be coming to. A monster par-3 at the 4th. 228 yards and the

:09:29. > :09:37.pin just over that right-hand bunker.

:09:38. > :09:45.Oh my goodness. He missed a few shots dangerously to the right

:09:46. > :09:51.yesterday. Here yesterday he missed it to the left. His coach flew in

:09:52. > :09:56.this morning to have a look at Jordan Spieth this afternoon, it is

:09:57. > :10:01.first real miscue of the day. Dustin Johnson trying to salvage something

:10:02. > :10:15.at the 5th, to drop just one. That's not finished.

:10:16. > :10:32.An opportunity for Smiley Kaufmann now. -- Smylie Kaufman. He has

:10:33. > :10:34.hoisted that way up in the air. That's going to be difficult, that's

:10:35. > :10:56.all you can say about it. McIlroy on the par-5 8th. Managed to

:10:57. > :11:03.stay at the bunker off the tee this time. Lovely shot. We'll come around

:11:04. > :11:16.a little bit closer as well. McIlroy with an eagle chants. Paul Casey

:11:17. > :11:25.after a fantastic birdie on ten. This is a dangerous pin placement on

:11:26. > :11:34.the left side of the green. Super shot. Shane Lowry has given us

:11:35. > :11:39.plenty of smiles over the last few days, the opening round of 68 and

:11:40. > :11:42.hole-in-one at 16. I'm sure he's got a big grin on that face.

:11:43. > :11:51.Wonderful moment for you 116, talk us through it. It was one of those

:11:52. > :11:56.where there are about 180 yards downwind, nothing gone right for me

:11:57. > :12:00.all day. It was perfect. I haven't seen it back yet. It was one of

:12:01. > :12:07.those things I'll remember for the rest of my life. I had a look at it

:12:08. > :12:13.coming down the sixth. It's perfect for a hole-in-one. It seriously is.

:12:14. > :12:20.Good reaction as well. I look very happy there. The 16th player to have

:12:21. > :12:24.a hole-in-one on 16. That's good, I'll have that picture. I'll get it

:12:25. > :12:28.framed and have it in my house. There's the girl who try to give me

:12:29. > :12:36.a high five and I missed her. It was good fun. Fit of an up-and-down week

:12:37. > :12:40.for me, I put myself right in there with two rounds to go and nothing

:12:41. > :12:43.went right for me at the weekend, a few bad decisions and breaks here

:12:44. > :12:49.and there. But you know, couple of weeks off now. A good moment, enjoy

:12:50. > :12:59.it at least, well done. With his short game he'll be back

:13:00. > :13:00.and doing well at Augusta again. Paul Casey for his three on the

:13:01. > :13:23.11th. Look at it go. Soren Kjeldsen at seven. Trying to

:13:24. > :13:33.play it off the backstop. It stop for a moment. Go on! Every little

:13:34. > :13:42.bit helps. Good shot. He's happy with it. He should be.

:13:43. > :13:50.For the hole, Jordan Spieth, horrible hole today, not one single

:13:51. > :13:55.birdie on this par-3. A parachute shot, lovely shot, it's going to run

:13:56. > :13:59.on. But it was beautifully played. He's given himself a chance with his

:14:00. > :14:01.putting. You wouldn't bet against him. Just about as well as he could

:14:02. > :14:16.do. Casey now, back up the hill. Yeah,

:14:17. > :14:25.confidently holed by Paul Casey. That's the good four there at 11. A

:14:26. > :14:26.good round he's got going, two birdies, no dropped shots, Lee

:14:27. > :14:41.Westwood. Of the back of that birdie on the

:14:42. > :14:56.sixth. Will this go back? Don't pause there. There's life in it yet.

:14:57. > :15:03.Keep going. Gathering pace. There we are, got there in the end. Thank you

:15:04. > :15:14.for your efforts. Good birdie chance to come for Westwood. Danny Willett,

:15:15. > :15:28.shorter shot than Westwood. Lofted club. He'll go right at this flag.

:15:29. > :15:32.Oh no, that's not what you want. Stopped in the sprinkler head. That

:15:33. > :15:37.was cruel. Yes, Davis. His last two holes are

:15:38. > :15:56.not unpleasant. He looks pleased. The greens seem to

:15:57. > :16:07.be getting faster and faster as the day goes on. This is one of those

:16:08. > :16:17.putts that you really have to get the speed right. He'll lay this out

:16:18. > :16:19.way to the left of the hole and try to have the ball literally stop and

:16:20. > :16:33.then feed sideways down the hill towards the hole.

:16:34. > :16:43.A good 50 feet away. He's not going to get there. That ball funnelled

:16:44. > :17:05.towards Jordan Spieth little bit. McIlroy. Chants for eagle. -- a

:17:06. > :17:11.chance for eagle. That was just about the last chance for McIlroy.

:17:12. > :17:16.You need something to really get him going and attack the back nine. Time

:17:17. > :17:24.running out. Could have been a free shot swing if that had gone in and

:17:25. > :17:32.Jordan missed this. Four shots back now, Spieth for par. Wouldn't this

:17:33. > :17:43.be something? What a putt. He continues to amaze. What a player.

:17:44. > :17:49.So good on the greens. Maybe the most difficult greens in the world

:17:50. > :17:54.to putt well on. But scrambling stats, 17 out of 24 times he's got

:17:55. > :17:59.up and down of the green in various situations. That's remarkable.

:18:00. > :18:10.Around here it's astonishing. He is relentless. McIlroy to tap in for

:18:11. > :18:15.his birdie. It is four. Birdie. He moves two over. Four holes apart, it

:18:16. > :18:18.could been a much bigger swing to McIlroy, but I think he's probably

:18:19. > :18:28.just going to come up a little bit short. Smylie Kaufman. In that

:18:29. > :18:35.moment, on a couple of holes, you saw Spieth holing his par putt,

:18:36. > :18:39.Smylie Kaufman missing his McIlroy failing to make eagle. That is

:18:40. > :18:49.white. He leads by three from Kjeldsen, Willett and Kaufman.

:18:50. > :18:54.Dustin Johnson down the hill after a superb shot here at six. Look at how

:18:55. > :18:59.fast these greens are getting. Walked that in. After four putting

:19:00. > :19:04.the double bogey at five, Dustin Johnson comes back with a beautiful

:19:05. > :19:16.birdie here. Difficult sixth. Paul Casey down the hill at X. -- six.

:19:17. > :19:26.Sorry, 12. 152 yards today. This is the pin position everybody knows...

:19:27. > :19:35.That's OK. Struck it really well, really well. Better than short.

:19:36. > :19:43.Something other than the driver here for Jordan. He's tugged it. That

:19:44. > :19:53.bunker is no good. It might be short of it. McIlroy, driver, on the

:19:54. > :19:59.ninth. Into the trees on the left yesterday, but heading the other way

:20:00. > :20:07.today. It's fine, didn't get much of a bounce down there.

:20:08. > :20:16.He's playing with McIlroy, Daniel Berger. Last year's US Rookie of the

:20:17. > :20:26.Year. What a good kick that was. He's got fairway. 3-wood for

:20:27. > :20:34.Kaufman. The camber of the fairway feeds down to the huge bunkers.

:20:35. > :20:43.Being able to stay short, choosing the right club. A two weightless,

:20:44. > :20:48.Wainwright on four, left on five. He'll have to figure that out. We go

:20:49. > :20:50.to Danny Willett at seven, almost no chance here. We already know how

:20:51. > :21:03.fast this is. Doesn't look too shabby. Look at it

:21:04. > :21:09.go on, though, wonderful effort from Danny Willett. So close to three,

:21:10. > :21:17.now scrapping for his par. Need a little drop from the sprinkler head.

:21:18. > :21:25.Jordan Spieth still in control, even more so, three shots clear of three

:21:26. > :21:30.players. Kjeldsen, Kaufman and Willett. Once again, his putter

:21:31. > :21:38.doing the business on the 4th hole, as it has all week. Treacherous

:21:39. > :21:45.birdie putt down the hill for Westwood. These are huge for Lee,

:21:46. > :21:53.you have to hole fees if you want to win this golf tournament. Dead

:21:54. > :22:00.centre, perfect speed. And all of a sudden Westwood is just four back.

:22:01. > :22:06.Bogey for par, par, par, birdie, birdie back row.

:22:07. > :22:16.A shorter version of the Tiger Woods chips. Davis Love chipped in from

:22:17. > :22:23.back there as well. In it goes. But a few spectacular shots on the 16th

:22:24. > :22:28.today. It's always back there, the Sunday pin position, but it seems to

:22:29. > :22:34.be quite hungry today, the hole on the 16th. A good run for

:22:35. > :22:45.Aphibarnrat, back to over. -- two over. Right back up the hill from

:22:46. > :22:50.Danny Willett. And he's got it. Quite a two putt there. And a nice

:22:51. > :23:00.clean card so far. Absolutely, neat and tidy from Danny

:23:01. > :23:05.Willett. It's taken him into a tie for second place, three shots off

:23:06. > :23:08.the lead held by defending champion Jordan Spieth. Soren Kjeldsen making

:23:09. > :23:11.a fantastic run at this, six years since his last appearance at the

:23:12. > :23:16.Masters. Trying to become the highest placed Dane ever. That was

:23:17. > :23:20.Thorbjorn Olesen three years back, who was tied sixth. Excellent effort

:23:21. > :23:27.from the 40-year-old. Smylie Kaufman just a little ragged the last couple

:23:28. > :23:30.of holes, but in a steamed company. As you seen the last couple of

:23:31. > :23:35.holes, using all of his local knowledge forged over 16 years to

:23:36. > :23:43.good effect, especially the last couple of holes. Matsuyama 1-over

:23:44. > :23:52.today. Watson has had his troubles. Jason Day hasn't yet got going.

:23:53. > :23:59.Justin Rose, 1-under today, two over for the tournament. Bernhard Langer,

:24:00. > :24:01.3-over today. Still hasn't come through, but there is still time for

:24:02. > :24:13.the 58-year-old. Adam Scott, looking to see him

:24:14. > :24:26.finish out on the 18th. That was not good.

:24:27. > :24:34.In it goes Adam Scott, 76, 72, 75, his first three rounds. He started

:24:35. > :24:40.well today. Couple of bogeys on the last three holes. That in 39,

:24:41. > :24:52.11-over total. Big putt for Matsuyama to remain even par. Let's

:24:53. > :24:59.have another look at Danny Willett's putt, this

:25:00. > :25:03.is him on the slope on the seventh. We've seen a lot of players bunched

:25:04. > :25:11.up closely. Take Jordan Spieth out of the equation. He's still in

:25:12. > :25:17.control of the tournament now. Quizzical looking Kaufman. Stunning

:25:18. > :25:23.shot from Smylie Kaufman write down the flag. Little bit unfortunate

:25:24. > :25:34.again, just toppled on a bit further. Good signs for Smylie

:25:35. > :25:40.Jordan Spieth ended up short of those massive bunkers. Now he's got

:25:41. > :25:49.to play a big sweeping draw. He hasn't hooked it enough. It doesn't

:25:50. > :25:56.appear. All kinds of options as to how you want to play that shot. It's

:25:57. > :26:00.one of the most difficult around the hole, the fifth, we saw what

:26:01. > :26:07.happened to Dustin Johnson. It's a devilish imposition. The hole almost

:26:08. > :26:11.has a little nose, like a peninsula. Where it all on one level, then

:26:12. > :26:18.drops off all around it. Here's the aforementioned Johnson. He'll keep

:26:19. > :26:28.it low there, but you need to be high into the screen. -- into this

:26:29. > :26:36.green. He will send it beyond the flag and hope it comes back.

:26:37. > :26:42.Kjeldsen at eight hitting a little trick shot. About all he could do

:26:43. > :26:58.from there. Jason Day, we'll see if he can get

:26:59. > :27:08.some height on this. Coming in from 140. Behind the pin, spin it back.

:27:09. > :27:16.It will go. It will go. It must go. Don't stay there. That is... When we

:27:17. > :27:30.saw Westwood's ball go all the way down, how can that stay? Kilts on.

:27:31. > :27:34.To get within two. -- Kjeldsen to get within two. Almost identical to

:27:35. > :27:42.Rory McIlroy's Miss here are a few moments ago in his bid for eagle.

:27:43. > :27:50.That'll be par. For Soren Kjeldsen, who is now tied for second with

:27:51. > :27:54.Danny Willett and Smylie Kaufman. One shot back is Lee Westwood.

:27:55. > :28:02.Beyond the flag Dustin Johnson goes. He's gone further up the slope than

:28:03. > :28:10.Kjeldsen. Comes back with a bit more momentum. This could be remarkable

:28:11. > :28:14.from Dustin Johnson. There we are, understands the contours and battle

:28:15. > :28:23.be a tap in par. Strange and beautiful place, Augusta. Matthew

:28:24. > :28:28.Fitzpatrick, second shot to the par 515. This is on the extreme left

:28:29. > :28:42.side of the green, very narrow back there. No bailouts here. Good shot.

:28:43. > :29:01.Justin Rose. He's got it back to two over par. A good tee shot. Stay

:29:02. > :29:09.there. That's going to go, is it? Is it? It hangs on for dear life.

:29:10. > :29:21.Oh boy. It's never a good sign. Where is that going to end up.

:29:22. > :29:29.Looking at Justin Rose, his scorecard, three birdies in the last

:29:30. > :29:46.four. A great run as we go to McIlroy with this Casey like putt.

:29:47. > :29:53.Never stop striving but there will come a time in his mind when he

:29:54. > :30:02.knows realistically, deep down, it's not going to be. You can see Justin

:30:03. > :30:08.Rose coming up alongside McIlroy now, two over. Critical shot here

:30:09. > :30:19.for Casey if he wants any chance to win this golf tournament he'll have

:30:20. > :30:26.to play a spectacular shot here. And that is one spectacular shot for

:30:27. > :30:30.Paul Casey. An eagle opportunity. Jordan Spieth, let's see what he

:30:31. > :30:32.makes of this, well below the level of the green to the right of the

:30:33. > :30:49.fifth. Slow down. Slow down. He's going to

:30:50. > :30:56.be tested again from 15 feet or so. Perhaps more.

:30:57. > :31:13.Jason Day. Unlucky his ball didn't go down... A little imperfection

:31:14. > :31:22.four feet short of the hole. Matsuyama. And welcome back, Peter

:31:23. > :31:29.Alice. Thank you, the excitement rolls on. It wasn't a very good tee

:31:30. > :31:39.shot for the Oriental wizard. And that may not be over yet. I'm not

:31:40. > :31:46.sure I like seeing things like that, but that's the way it is, it's been

:31:47. > :31:54.like that for three and a half days. Brandt Snedeker. A chance to get

:31:55. > :32:00.1-over. Birdie four... People are beginning to make a move. All this

:32:01. > :32:10.noise... Jordan Spieth will hear the applause and a few rules. -- and a

:32:11. > :32:18.few roars. McIlroy at nine. Well done. You'll breathe a sigh of

:32:19. > :32:25.relief it is nine holes out of the way. What a jump it was. This cues,

:32:26. > :32:32.Mrs, holed out, good shots. Something for everyone. Danny

:32:33. > :32:40.Willett, second to the par-5. Can he get home? Be good! And it is. Hopped

:32:41. > :32:56.up a little bit more. Great shot from Danny Willett. Eagle putt to

:32:57. > :33:05.follow. Justin Rose. At the 10th. Only two over par. He's had a very

:33:06. > :33:17.adventurous three days. Beautiful putt. Players today showing what

:33:18. > :33:29.they can do when conditions are more benign. Matthew Fitzpatrick eagle

:33:30. > :33:34.putt on the 15th. Hit it, hit it. Birdie to come for Fitzpatrick. He

:33:35. > :33:37.birdied 14 as well. He will get back to two over with this. Into the top

:33:38. > :33:52.ten. Jordan Spieth. Not 1 million miles

:33:53. > :34:15.away, but that is a dropped shot. Danny Willett is going to have a

:34:16. > :34:16.putt to tie the lead shortly. Unpleasant miss at the 6th. Double

:34:17. > :34:25.bogey for Matsuyama. Kaufman. So near. That was for

:34:26. > :34:47.three, but wasn't to be. Just a little whisker untidy.

:34:48. > :35:06.Thought he'd got that one, but no. He's hanging in there, 1-under par,

:35:07. > :35:16.outside Pavin and Kjeldsen. -- outside Willett.

:35:17. > :35:30.What a record he's had in the Majors. What a year he had last

:35:31. > :35:43.year. Back to 3-under. Kjeldsen, Willett and Kaufman two shots behind

:35:44. > :35:52.Westwood, three behind... Kjeldsen. 1-under par. Gave that a good clip.

:35:53. > :35:59.And it's going to stop... No, it's not, unlucky. Something he had no

:36:00. > :36:06.control over. Couldn't make it way all the way back, could it? It might

:36:07. > :36:08.do, it's gathering a bit of speed. I fancy it will slow down. Yes,

:36:09. > :36:30.hopeless putt from there. Playing alongside Danny Willett

:36:31. > :36:45.here. He's had a bit of trouble on this hole. This, for his birdie. He

:36:46. > :36:58.is giving this a go. OK, nice putt. Only three behind the lead. Looking

:36:59. > :37:04.back up the ninth, Snedeker. Lots of shuffling and twitching of the

:37:05. > :37:13.shoulders, then a quick swing. Steady. So many shots become almost

:37:14. > :37:21.frightening when they go towards the green and you are praying for them

:37:22. > :37:30.to stop in some cases. Because if it takes one revolution, you know it's

:37:31. > :37:44.gone. Kaufman on six. Back right pin. He likes it. No, no, no. It's

:37:45. > :37:53.difficult, isn't it? The actual landing area, the flat area, is only

:37:54. > :37:57.3-4 yd.2. Not much at all. That is where someone like Faldo is so good

:37:58. > :38:02.around this course, the precision of his iron play. Danny Willett, putt

:38:03. > :38:21.on 18 to tie the lead. Not 1 million miles away and Willett

:38:22. > :38:25.moves within one of Jordan Spieth. The eighth is playing fairly gently

:38:26. > :38:31.today. Willett, what a tidy card that is. Birdies on six and eight,

:38:32. > :38:46.moving along so well. Our leader at the 6th.

:38:47. > :39:05.He fancies it. Whoa... Is not a short hitter himself, Spieth. No,

:39:06. > :39:13.it's a struggle. These past three days, three and a half days, it's

:39:14. > :39:20.been desperately hard work. There hasn't been a lot to enjoy this week

:39:21. > :39:24.when it comes down to the golf. He does wear his heart on his sleeve,

:39:25. > :39:35.Spieth, you know exactly what he's thinking. Casey for an eagle. Again,

:39:36. > :39:43.very tidy round by Casey. Third birdie. No dropped shots. He is

:39:44. > :39:48.1-over. Britain is very well represented in the top ten. Let's

:39:49. > :39:53.look at the leaderboard. Jordan Spieth's lead is just one ahead of

:39:54. > :39:57.Danny Willett. Soren Kjeldsen and two 1-under. Paul Casey as well.

:39:58. > :40:00.Matt Fitzpatrick just inside the top ten. We've seen a bit of action on

:40:01. > :40:06.the eighth green recently and earlier on today Ken was down there.

:40:07. > :40:16.Well, I wonder where the pin is at eight today, the par-5. Ten on, five

:40:17. > :40:20.from the right. I've not seen it there on the final day before. The

:40:21. > :40:23.front portion of the green, the narrowest part. The front portion of

:40:24. > :40:30.the green is a little upslope. It doesn't entice you to landing the

:40:31. > :40:34.ball in. But this is an eagle chance. If you pitch it on this

:40:35. > :40:40.chance here there is every chance it will kick round into the flag. The

:40:41. > :40:46.same thing on the other side, it gathers up. If you miss on the other

:40:47. > :40:50.side you are in the reasonableness, and pitch it on the other bank and

:40:51. > :40:56.you have the same thing. They have put this spot where there might be

:40:57. > :40:59.one or two eagles. If you are pitching in... If you are slightly

:41:00. > :41:04.out, and this breeze is interesting, we are about ten left of the flag

:41:05. > :41:09.and if you pitch it here, well I never. It is so difficult to get the

:41:10. > :41:12.ball down in two from there. If you get it right on the eight you have

:41:13. > :41:20.got two good blows and you have an eagle chance. If you get it wrong,

:41:21. > :41:26.difficult to get it done in two. COMMENTATOR: A wonderful description

:41:27. > :41:32.of the difficulties. So precise when it is playing the way it is, firm,

:41:33. > :41:34.windy. But somebody will be happy in a few hours' time. They will be

:41:35. > :41:54.jubilant. Smylie Kaufman. Played this well. Very well indeed.

:41:55. > :42:03.Lovely touch from Smylie Kaufman. He has not seemed over phased by the

:42:04. > :42:11.task today. Now, Snedeker and the ninth, Cross Green, long putt.

:42:12. > :42:26.Stay up. This tails off. Pretty much every putt is stressful. Patrick.

:42:27. > :42:32.Birdie, par, bogey in the first three rounds. Heading in the wrong

:42:33. > :42:38.direction. He's gone straight at it! Sitcom he says. Lovely tee shot from

:42:39. > :42:42.Fitzpatrick. Just birdied the last two holes as well, two over for the

:42:43. > :42:49.tournament. The ninth, Celts in for a birdie. He has butted sideways.

:42:50. > :42:56.The flag is bottom left of your screen and here it comes. It might

:42:57. > :43:02.go in! No, just left. But that is a very good touch.

:43:03. > :43:13.Big drive from Dustin Johnson on the eighth. Nudging and iron up there,

:43:14. > :43:18.that is a massive drive! Look at this! Oh! Well, he was unlucky

:43:19. > :43:25.there. If it had subcommittee would have been within two inches or even

:43:26. > :43:33.in the hole. Beautiful shot. He won't have any idea how far away

:43:34. > :43:46.that is or how near, but that is a wonderful result. Now, Jordan

:43:47. > :43:48.Spieth. A bit of noise. Four birdies on the 6th hole in 11 rounds, Jordan

:43:49. > :44:08.Spieth. It's coming, in she comes! It is!

:44:09. > :44:20.There is another one! He has holed some crucial putts! Is amazing.

:44:21. > :44:33.Five in 12 at this hole now. Another two at the 6th, for Jordan Spieth.

:44:34. > :44:45.After the Lord Mayor 's show, Kaufman taps in for par. A great

:44:46. > :44:52.par. A two shot lead now from Danny Willett. It was a short one and now

:44:53. > :44:55.they go all the way back. This one stretched all the way back. A

:44:56. > :45:03.totally different hole now, the seventh. This must be close to 100

:45:04. > :45:09.yards over the years. Let's see if Fitzpatrick can make his two. Yes he

:45:10. > :45:19.can. Three birdies in a row from Matt Fitzpatrick. 1-over. Tied for

:45:20. > :45:35.sixth with Paul Casey. McIlroy once more off line, in trouble.

:45:36. > :45:56.Jason Day. As Ken was explaining, the trouble is was down on the wrong

:45:57. > :46:00.side of the Mount. He's played a very good shot. 1-over at the

:46:01. > :46:13.moment, no birdies on his card today. Back for his first. -- the

:46:14. > :46:22.mound. Justin Rose, at the 11th. Good second shot he has played in

:46:23. > :46:28.here. Sneaky putt, this one. Sneaky, sneaky, tailing off.

:46:29. > :46:40.He keep leaving yourself those three, four footers on these

:46:41. > :46:46.lightning fast greens. Is this the first drive of the day from Spieth?

:46:47. > :46:50.If it is, it has worked well. A little coaching session this morning

:46:51. > :46:58.and it appears to have worked. Nicely done.

:46:59. > :47:13.Let's have a look at Casey, his second to the 14th. The pin today is

:47:14. > :47:18.back right. Just about there. Felt good, he said. Looks good. A chance

:47:19. > :47:27.the KC to get back to level par. -- a chance for Paul Casey to get back

:47:28. > :47:30.to level par. Burstyn Hoffman. Dustin Johnson, in fact! Who is

:47:31. > :47:35.Dustin Hoffman, I've heard that name before.

:47:36. > :47:44.Oh! This is the most frustrating game! Frustrating game...

:47:45. > :47:54.APPLAUSE But that is a magnificent birdie. An

:47:55. > :48:01.outstanding bit of method acting. McIlroy come out of the bunker.

:48:02. > :48:17.GROANS FROM CROWD He races it. At least one more go.

:48:18. > :48:29.Kaufman can send it out there, looking a bit anxiously left. Tight,

:48:30. > :48:34.but should be OK. The pin today is gettable. You lose a bit of control

:48:35. > :48:43.coming out of that first cut. Danny Willett, at the 9th. He has hit it

:48:44. > :48:50.way by the trees. Hoping for the best. It scuttles into the crowd.

:48:51. > :49:02.Where did it go? Where's it gone? It rolled towards his feet. Jason

:49:03. > :49:21.Day, for his first birdie of this final round.

:49:22. > :49:29.Yes indeed! Jason Day back to level par, the world number one within

:49:30. > :49:36.four of Spieth. Not too much happening on the card, but back

:49:37. > :49:41.where he started, now level. He only took that putter back about half an

:49:42. > :49:50.inch. Lee Westwood, going along very nicely. Playing uphill to the ninth.

:49:51. > :49:58.And he has played a beauty. It's going to stick. He's not far away,

:49:59. > :50:03.but that's not a putt you can have a go at.

:50:04. > :50:14.Paul Casey. Glorious second shot to the 14th.

:50:15. > :50:23.He could do a bit of damage if he pops this in.

:50:24. > :50:40.But he doesn't. Pop it in and then a Svarsvald finish. Remember that? A

:50:41. > :50:45.couple of birdies from nowhere and he won the tournament. Playing

:50:46. > :50:55.nicely, Casey. Good to see. The 15th to come. He will take it

:50:56. > :51:11.out on the drive. Deep in the crowd. There he is, on

:51:12. > :51:15.the little top left. Chipping through the deck chairs. Before

:51:16. > :51:27.that, Kjeldsen. That's a good shot from Kjeldsen.

:51:28. > :51:53.Uphill putt. Danny Willett. Third shot, ninth

:51:54. > :52:00.hole. Using the slope. This could be canny, or it could... It's going to

:52:01. > :52:12.work. Don't stop. Don't even think about stopping. Don't even think of

:52:13. > :52:19.it. It is. Ooh, left him down the side of the precipice. There is

:52:20. > :52:25.Danny. He's up to 12 in the world now. He's had a view injury problems

:52:26. > :52:28.with his back, but he's becoming a really world-class player and almost

:52:29. > :52:33.nailed on for a Ryder Cup place later this year. We look at Jason

:52:34. > :52:41.Day. Tee shot on the ninth. Not good. Get lucky.

:52:42. > :52:55.Well, that was a fierce "All right", but that means they've found the

:52:56. > :52:59.ball. How that was all right... You never know, he might be able to

:53:00. > :53:10.squirt it through. Kaufman's second to this elevated seventh green. Will

:53:11. > :53:19.that go back? Almost high enough up. That just stopped on the collar.

:53:20. > :53:38.Gone straight at it, I fancy. And he... Yes. Is that going to move

:53:39. > :53:57.down? It is but it's moving left. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:53:58. > :54:02.I'm not sure I enjoyed this sort of golf under these conditions... This

:54:03. > :54:08.is a very severe. Lee Westwood, great second shot in, plenty of

:54:09. > :54:13.right-to-left on this. He's got it! Lee Westwood gets to 1-under par.

:54:14. > :54:20.Three birdies in the last four holes, out in 34 and he is within

:54:21. > :54:28.three. The old fire is burning. That's great. Now, Fitzpatrick. He's

:54:29. > :54:33.on a great run at the moment. Good tee shot here. And he's played a

:54:34. > :54:46.beautiful second. Now, Justin Rose has made his way to

:54:47. > :54:47.the 12th tee. 152 today. Not quite as much wind to play havoc with

:54:48. > :55:07.Mainz. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:55:08. > :55:15.Ooh, that will give you palpitations. Danny Willett, at the

:55:16. > :55:24.9th for his par. This would be a great putt to hole. And he has. Wow.

:55:25. > :55:30.The man Ian White, the white suit. -- the man in white. When was it

:55:31. > :55:40.that White became so popular to play golf in? Five years ago? Now, can it

:55:41. > :55:49.be four in a row for Fitzpatrick? Given himself every opportunity. He

:55:50. > :56:00.knew he had left it low. It scuttles on. Kaufman. Oh! He barely touched

:56:01. > :56:06.it. It's not going to turn right, it's going to whistle past.

:56:07. > :56:14.That was cruel, wasn't it, Peter? That is how close his second shot

:56:15. > :56:20.was. Another three or four inches. Remember the shot Ken showed us this

:56:21. > :56:26.morning when he blew the ball on the green and it went whizzing past the

:56:27. > :56:35.hole. Cheltenham. It's not going to go quite. A good four. The European

:56:36. > :56:40.contingent are showing up very well this week, with holes running out.

:56:41. > :56:46.Which is nice to see. They haven't really been in that position for a

:56:47. > :56:51.long time. There we are come immediately behind Spieth, Danny

:56:52. > :56:55.Willett, Soren Kjeldsen, Lee Westwood. Then you find Fitzpatrick

:56:56. > :56:58.and Paul Casey, all inside the top ten.

:56:59. > :57:17.Bryson DeChambeau. Putt fought a three at the last. And he's done it!

:57:18. > :57:20.Well done. Well, I wonder what the future holds for this young man.

:57:21. > :57:29.Turning pro immediately, or tomorrow, I guess. We shall see.

:57:30. > :57:32.Many have had an amateur career, a sparkling amateur career and gone on

:57:33. > :57:33.to become first-class players of the game at the highest level. Others

:57:34. > :57:46.have faded away. He will be in the Butler Cabin later

:57:47. > :57:50.on as leading amateur. Romain Langasque saved his best for the

:57:51. > :57:58.final day, a 68 to move up to ten is over. Bryson DeChambeau will play a

:57:59. > :58:00.tournament next week as a professional. Justin Rose, birdie

:58:01. > :58:23.putt. So, Jordan Spieth. He backs off

:58:24. > :58:34.again. A little bit Keegan Bradley ish. He settles over it, back he

:58:35. > :58:35.goes. Jim Furyk as well. Spieth. He knocks it in. Another hole

:58:36. > :58:48.completed. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:58:49. > :58:55.At is a good run. Three shots clear, eight clear of McIlroy. A better tee

:58:56. > :59:00.shot today from McIlroy on the 11th. The twirl of the club. He's just

:59:01. > :59:06.going after pins now and it's cost him. Into the water again a very

:59:07. > :59:10.different way of getting there, but swimming once more. It's one of

:59:11. > :59:19.those weeks. It's one of those weeks. Nothing. So full of hope four

:59:20. > :59:23.days ago and now back to the drawing board. Just not your week.

:59:24. > :59:30.He still can't quite believe it happened. You heard him say, are you

:59:31. > :59:34.kidding me? Twirl, twirl. All over the flag. "I Like this"...

:59:35. > :59:45.Just a couple of yards short in carry and that was enough.

:59:46. > :59:53.He misses. Kaufman. Peter, isn't that like the 70 yesterday when

:59:54. > :59:59.Spieth was playing with McIlroy, because he has just rolled in his

:00:00. > :00:03.birdie putt and Kaufman has three putted. Dustin Johnson, second shot

:00:04. > :00:26.to the ninth, level par. Not too much. Steady. Good shot.

:00:27. > :00:31.Spieth. 3-wood again. Lost a couple of these out to the right short of

:00:32. > :00:39.that bunker. Right of that bunker. He has birdied it everyday. And

:00:40. > :00:44.think it's remarkable considering he's not the biggest of hitters by a

:00:45. > :00:46.long way but he's managed to get it up there and a pitch and up at three

:00:47. > :01:01.times. It's a good tee shot. This is the result of his tee shot

:01:02. > :01:02.on nine. He's got a little gap, going to try and chase it on up the

:01:03. > :01:22.hill. It'll just go off the green and

:01:23. > :01:28.stick, I fancy. Yes. Again, a few inches left. It could have rolled

:01:29. > :01:35.back, but no, still get four. Problems with the drop of Rory

:01:36. > :01:40.McIlroy. Welcome back, Ken Brown. Ken commits one of those days when

:01:41. > :01:43.you are a thing of puffing, wiping sweat of your brow, thinking what

:01:44. > :01:48.might have been. He should have done this, I could have done that.

:01:49. > :01:53.We'll leave Rory to his deliberations as we see the Ryder

:01:54. > :01:58.Cup captain for American. We'll see a lot of him in the next few months

:01:59. > :02:02.and we saw a lot of him today, especially at the 16th with the

:02:03. > :02:07.hole-in-one. He turns 52 on Wednesday and an early present for

:02:08. > :02:13.him today, let's hear from him. A moment of magic on 16, do you mind

:02:14. > :02:19.talking us through? Webb Simpson was wanting to hit 8-iron. And Paul's

:02:20. > :02:25.caddy was trying to talk him out of it. He came up short. I said, I can

:02:26. > :02:28.get this as hard as I want. I hit the backstop. We heard the roar

:02:29. > :02:32.earlier, I knew there was a chance. When I hit it, the green, a lady

:02:33. > :02:37.behind the Green said, it's going to break right in. We all started

:02:38. > :02:42.watching. I can't believe it, I was happy for Webb Simpson to make eagle

:02:43. > :02:46.and get crisp on 13, disappointed I haven't got any. At the last minute

:02:47. > :02:51.I got a piece. A wonderful moment for us to watch, thank you for

:02:52. > :02:55.coming in to explain it all to us. I'm sure Davies is going to be

:02:56. > :02:59.seeing quite a lot of the Englishman currently in the top ten. There

:03:00. > :03:06.four. Danny Willett within three of Jordan Spieth. Lee Westwood also

:03:07. > :03:11.under par. That Fitzpatrick going beautifully and Paul Casey also in a

:03:12. > :03:15.tie for eighth. Seven out of the eight English men in the field made

:03:16. > :03:20.the cut, a record, they are certainly putting in quite a

:03:21. > :03:26.performance. Here's one of them. The... On 15. A very receptive and

:03:27. > :03:39.easy position to get at with a short iron. Third shot for Casey par-5.

:03:40. > :03:52.Nicely done. McIlroy picked out of the water. Fourth shot at the 11th.

:03:53. > :04:01.Sweet little pitch. The best he could do is five.

:04:02. > :04:13.My goodness. This is a bit of a funfair ride, this one. Over there

:04:14. > :04:23.on the middle tier. It's not bad. He's got his left-hand wing:.

:04:24. > :04:26.Settle. Settle. Very nice. So, so tricky.

:04:27. > :04:51.What about. Beautiful shot. -- what a Altur. They're not really stopping

:04:52. > :04:57.very quickly. It's all a bit of a lottery.

:04:58. > :05:04.Johnson. Nicely done. It's easy to over boiled down the right inside

:05:05. > :05:16.the cut. Very civilised crowds, aren't they?

:05:17. > :05:21.All golf crowds are, I think they're amazing. All kept in control by a

:05:22. > :05:26.bit of string down the side of the fairway. When you think some games

:05:27. > :05:31.they have machine guns and barbed wire and God knows what. Police

:05:32. > :05:34.dogs. Very civilised. They might be a bit grumpy some people who play

:05:35. > :05:40.golf, but they are all right. Fitzpatrick plays according shot. I

:05:41. > :05:44.think he our big star of the future. We've got three, four, five of them

:05:45. > :05:51.at the moment. This very usable young man looks as though he might

:05:52. > :05:58.be the best. -- youthful young man. That was very high tariff.

:05:59. > :06:09.36. Into the back nine on Sunday. At the Masters. Westward at ten. --

:06:10. > :06:27.Westwood at ten. That was not what we wanted. Bad

:06:28. > :06:42.shot. Overclocked and hooked. It flew. Jordan Spieth up over the

:06:43. > :06:46.hill. At the 8th. His driving iron has a low flight, it runs like a

:06:47. > :06:51.good. Can he feed it through the gap? He has, its perfection. The

:06:52. > :06:56.little upslope killed it. If you're going to miss the green, that is a

:06:57. > :07:01.nice spot. It shows you the changing conditions, he's not the longest of

:07:02. > :07:04.hitters. A yard or two short of the green. The first time I saw this I

:07:05. > :07:09.didn't think anyone had ever reached it in two. The bunker on the right

:07:10. > :07:13.has been increased over the years, sneakily made bigger and bigger. The

:07:14. > :07:18.contour of the hill has remained the same. They tucked the green round

:07:19. > :07:23.the corner at the end of a couple of banks either side. No bunkers. So

:07:24. > :07:31.it's one of those holes that's just there. It causes bother.

:07:32. > :07:39.Down the hill. A shot to play with caution. That is slightly

:07:40. > :07:51.overcautious. Better there than on the other side. That won't be easy.

:07:52. > :07:58.It will test your nerve. 13th hole. Justin Rose. Is he having a cut at

:07:59. > :08:04.it? Risky. It sounded fluffy and heavy. Perhaps he's just playing up.

:08:05. > :08:11.Short of the green. No, he's not. He had a go at it. I didn't see it in

:08:12. > :08:21.the shadow. Maybe in the brook, the little stream. It did hang on. Well,

:08:22. > :08:25.it's a bit of good fortune. Got to bump this up the bank on it so

:08:26. > :08:31.tricky. You've got to keep it low and chasing. It's a magic shocked. A

:08:32. > :08:35.little unlucky but he'll take it. Wouldn't want it again. Easy to snag

:08:36. > :08:43.it on the bank and scooped it off the front of the green. He's done it

:08:44. > :08:49.again. This remarkable young man. I bet they ask him for an identity if

:08:50. > :08:54.he goes and buys a bottle of beer at the local. He'll be certainly here

:08:55. > :09:02.next year. And for a few more years to come. Well done, well played,

:09:03. > :09:11.we're proud of you. 3-wood off the 10th tee. So strong. Clubface under

:09:12. > :09:19.control. Smart it every time, drawing it down the hill, pins the

:09:20. > :09:31.downslope in the ideal spot. -- it pains to equippings. He's got no

:09:32. > :09:38.weaknesses, Jason Day. -- --it pings.

:09:39. > :09:54.No. Suddenly slowed up. Look as if he had plenty of run at it, but no,

:09:55. > :10:02.wasn't to be. An uncharacteristic loose iron for him, he's hit a lot

:10:03. > :10:09.of wonderful irons. Johnson. Down the hill at the 10th.

:10:10. > :10:29.He has long arms, hasn't he? He has. That didn't run at all. Didn't run a

:10:30. > :10:37.yard. Or more than a yard. Casey at the 15th. Drops into the cup. Very

:10:38. > :10:47.nice, back to even par. Into six spot. Dustin Johnson and Matt that

:10:48. > :10:56.Patrick. Danny Willett with a similar putt to Westwood.

:10:57. > :11:07.Left-to-right. Pace and line. That looks better. It was right... You

:11:08. > :11:16.can't complain about that. So treacherous. Four is a very good

:11:17. > :11:29.score. Four and three round here, you'll take home a big cheque. A

:11:30. > :11:33.good break for Justin Rose. Took a gamble with his second. This is a

:11:34. > :11:39.nice third. Looks like a birdie, Ken. He's such a thorough

:11:40. > :11:45.professional these days. Beautiful looking player. Rory McIlroy, tee

:11:46. > :12:00.shot at 12. Steady. Lots of support for Rory.

:12:01. > :12:01.But it hasn't been his week. Top sporting people get that, they don't

:12:02. > :12:14.know why, it just doesn't happen. Nice birdie, got a deserved lead

:12:15. > :12:18.break. He's had a visit down the bank into that little stream earlier

:12:19. > :12:26.in the week. 1-over, tiptoeing up the leaderboard. Soren Kjeldsen.

:12:27. > :12:31.Here's a he wouldn't fancy. -- here is a shot you wouldn't fancy.

:12:32. > :12:37.Magnificent. Steady. Has he? He's done very well. That was a

:12:38. > :12:52.frighteningly difficult shot. Big old footballers watching this

:12:53. > :12:56.week, Alan Shearer is here, Alex Ferguson. I think you should

:12:57. > :13:01.organise a competition on haircuts, the haircut of the top pros against

:13:02. > :13:05.the haircut of the Premier division. Premier division haircuts are a

:13:06. > :13:11.joke, aren't they? Probably cost hundreds of pounds. My local

:13:12. > :13:18.headrest could do about 50 of those and hour. Up the sides, short back

:13:19. > :13:28.and sides. Let's see a bit of magic. No. Not this week, Josephine. Been

:13:29. > :13:32.different each day, some days he hasn't got the pace and he's not

:13:33. > :13:35.quite seeing the lines. It's been a frustrating week on the greens for

:13:36. > :13:39.Rory. It came with such high expectations, so many people are

:13:40. > :13:44.writing about the hype, winning this. Sport isn't like that, really.

:13:45. > :13:55.Jason Day at ten after a nice T-shirt. -- tee shot. He has work to

:13:56. > :14:10.do if to catch Spieth. He doesn't like it. Left. Down there, yes.

:14:11. > :14:20.That's not fair. It seemed to move up the hill.

:14:21. > :14:34.Irish Open champion last year. Casey. At the 16th. We seen a couple

:14:35. > :14:35.of ones here today. He likes this one, too, by the look of it. He

:14:36. > :14:52.doesn't now. Straight in the sand. 180 yards. A nudge of the seven or

:14:53. > :15:05.even eight for him. He is so powerful. Coming in from the right.

:15:06. > :15:11.Golden shot. He could dump a basketball. It takes a bit of doing.

:15:12. > :15:18.It does, with both your feet on the floor. We can dunk a biscuit. That's

:15:19. > :15:26.about the best we can do. Where is this one? He's whistled this one

:15:27. > :15:32.through the back, old Smylie He's played some good chip and run

:15:33. > :15:43.today. It's galloping on. I thought it would be within 3-4 feet. Spieth

:15:44. > :15:57.in such a good spot, such a good chip. Willett at the 11th. Very well

:15:58. > :16:11.indeed. Quick rhythm. And that's a perfect drive. Lovely position.

:16:12. > :16:25.Casey is going to have to use the slope beyond the pin. A little bit

:16:26. > :16:29.of Lady luck... Is he far enough up? He couldn't, could he? Tell you

:16:30. > :16:36.what, it's got a chance. High quality. There's something about the

:16:37. > :16:42.back nine on Sunday here, things happen. A lot of it is to do with

:16:43. > :16:47.where they put the flags. You've got to fancy this one, Peter. I think he

:16:48. > :16:57.might nip this in. It's so inviting up the hill, nice lie. A little stab

:16:58. > :17:02.there. Interesting to look at all the stats, they've got statistics

:17:03. > :17:11.here for everything. After day one he was, overall, 71st. Dave two he

:17:12. > :17:15.was back to 34. Yesterday, 53. He's leading all the way through the

:17:16. > :17:16.tournament, never been near the top of the lead on anything except

:17:17. > :17:34.putting. Drifting right, Lee Westwood, at 11.

:17:35. > :17:42.He needs a bit of luck. I'm not sure he's got it. Hard to tell from that

:17:43. > :17:46.angle. Currently Spieth by three from Danny Willett and Dustin

:17:47. > :17:49.Johnson, the only three players under par. Spieth has an excellent

:17:50. > :17:57.chance of making birdie at number eight. This is where Jason Day's

:17:58. > :18:02.ball finished, down the hill. He's got plenty of room to miss the tree.

:18:03. > :18:06.If he gets this within seven or eight feet, he'll have done

:18:07. > :18:13.brilliantly. He pitches on the green, does he flop it up short? He

:18:14. > :18:18.goes for the high one. It's a way, look at it, scuffles by.

:18:19. > :18:41.Very chilly first thing this morning but it's warmed up as the day has

:18:42. > :18:51.gone by, it's quite pleasant. This, to extend his lead. He looks at the

:18:52. > :18:55.hole as he putts, it's amazing. Well done, beautifully played, good

:18:56. > :18:58.drive, nice iron to the front of the green giving himself the Saint list

:18:59. > :19:04.of chips. That is how you steady the ship. -- the simplest of chips. It's

:19:05. > :19:10.impressive, but it's not impressive to watch, know what I mean? It's not

:19:11. > :19:13.thundering drives. He makes fluffy little minor clock ups here there

:19:14. > :19:19.and everywhere. Every time he plays a good shot, holes putt, it's not

:19:20. > :19:23.magical to watch, it's like listening to Willie Nelson thing, he

:19:24. > :19:39.can't sing at all and he still makes records. -- Willie Nelson sing.

:19:40. > :19:49.A couple over on his round today, back to even par. Three bogeys, been

:19:50. > :19:58.a bit unlucky. After that great result from the bunker. Casey for

:19:59. > :20:07.history at 16. -- for his free. Yes, well done, good escape.

:20:08. > :20:17.Looks like he's got a swing. It must be touch and go. Water to the left

:20:18. > :20:23.of the green, he'll have to aim it a little left and cut it off. Doesn't

:20:24. > :20:29.want to be too ambitious. He's been fortunate... It about 6-iron. Second

:20:30. > :20:47.to the 11. Miles in the air. Wonderful shot,

:20:48. > :20:52.not taking any risks, he absolutely picked it off. Those pine needles,

:20:53. > :20:57.so easy to slip, to miss it. The knife hole, the leader. Plotting his

:20:58. > :21:22.way around. -- the ninth hole. No great danger down there. He's all

:21:23. > :21:28.right. Thought he was a bit tight down the left. The trees may be in

:21:29. > :21:40.his view but they won't interfere with the shot. A huge drive up the

:21:41. > :21:51.13th. Had a bit of luck... Probably seven 8-iron. No. Rory has had no

:21:52. > :21:56.brakes at all. Jason Day for par at ten.

:21:57. > :22:10.Here she comes. Dear me. Couldn't get it any closer. Without it's

:22:11. > :22:18.dropping. It's a shot gone. Off a perfect tee shot.

:22:19. > :22:37.12. Kjeldsen. Playing 152 yards today. 9-iron, a big 9-iron. Right

:22:38. > :22:42.over the flag. Bit of helping him. -- bit of breeze helping him. His

:22:43. > :22:53.family with him, all smiling. Willett. Has he got the courage, the

:22:54. > :23:01.skill, the nerve? He has. Steady now, steady. That's a great shot,

:23:02. > :23:08.great result. Very good chance for a birdie. Haven't been many of those

:23:09. > :23:19.here at the 11th today. Dustin Johnson. The closest we've seen for

:23:20. > :23:21.a birdie at the 10th. Been three birdies at ten, one at 11 and two at

:23:22. > :23:33.12. Only two at the 18th yesterday, it's

:23:34. > :23:41.hard work. Johnson taps in. It was a good four, beautiful drive. Tipped

:23:42. > :23:51.around the hole. Same school as a scruffy four. -- it's the same score

:23:52. > :23:55.as a scruffy four. Kjeldsen, nothing in this, virtually dead straight and

:23:56. > :24:08.he booms it in as you'd expect. Well done, Soren.

:24:09. > :24:15.Matt Kuchar trying at Tiger. It looks rather good. It's looking very

:24:16. > :24:32.good. "Every Macro" They are crying.

:24:33. > :24:39.STUDIO: Plenty to celebrate. Gretchen macro "?Kuch.

:24:40. > :24:47.Superb from this young man, he began the day in a tie for 23 and

:24:48. > :24:50.currently tied fourth. Looks like he's in himself an invitation back

:24:51. > :24:57.here next year. Let's hear from Matthew. 67 on the final day of the

:24:58. > :25:04.Masters, what was the key? Just flushed it, absolutely flushed it

:25:05. > :25:07.tee to green. Hit some great irons. Obviously you have to hole the

:25:08. > :25:12.putts, but gave myself a lot of chances. It sounds terrible but it

:25:13. > :25:15.really could have been better. When you think about how the week

:25:16. > :25:20.progressed, what have you gathered from this week that you could help

:25:21. > :25:25.put into practice in future? I think just my performance, we picked up

:25:26. > :25:30.something on 17 that we would pick up next time we come. Maybe little

:25:31. > :25:35.things like that, breaks you don't quite see this time. It all goes

:25:36. > :25:42.down in the book. When you first came here you made lots of notes,

:25:43. > :25:46.Nick Faldo noted you made an note on 18. Look forward to seeing you back

:25:47. > :25:51.in 12 months' time. Perfect, thank you.

:25:52. > :26:02.I wonder if Matty Fitzpatrick has ever had to buy a razor blade. To be

:26:03. > :26:03.so good at that tender age. That was a brilliant par. Found the trees off

:26:04. > :26:20.the tee. Our leader is 6-under. Danny Willett

:26:21. > :26:22.has this to get within three. It's makeable. Up the hill. Not that

:26:23. > :26:33.quick. This is what you hope for when you

:26:34. > :26:35.come to the Masters. Do at least have a chance. This'll be almost

:26:36. > :26:58.impossible to leave short. A couple of miscues. Two balls in

:26:59. > :27:01.the water at 11. You will always look back on what might have been.

:27:02. > :27:19.In his quest to secure his legacy. 13th, trying to work a little free

:27:20. > :27:22.wood around the corner. -- 3-wood. Marvellous shot. A flat drawer,

:27:23. > :27:32.tight line down the left side, shortens the hole. He's a cut of the

:27:33. > :27:36.ball generally, easy to turn it around the dogleg. In a macro

:27:37. > :27:40.beautiful shot. A really good look at the 9th green. Let's have a

:27:41. > :28:03.listen to Spieth. Write down the middle, but it's a

:28:04. > :28:09.very risky angle. -- right down the middle.

:28:10. > :28:27.Very risky angle to go directly at the flag.

:28:28. > :28:45.You cannot come up short here. I think the caddy was trying to her on

:28:46. > :28:59.the long side. Jordan has just squished this. -- he has two err.

:29:00. > :29:03.Nailed it. And he's right. Player knows best. Come on down the hill. A

:29:04. > :29:13.traffic shot. -- it is a terrific shot. Pretty

:29:14. > :29:19.brave to get it pin hi, not safety long. He said it was a good call.

:29:20. > :29:29.Sometimes the caddy gets all the wrap and never any of the love.

:29:30. > :29:38.Can you remember creamy Caroline who used to caddy for Arnie in the early

:29:39. > :29:52.days customer I certainly do. Par at ten and 11. At the 12th. No, no...

:29:53. > :29:54.Right on the edge there. That would have ended his chances. Now still

:29:55. > :30:07.very much alive. What a marvellous par-3, playing 152

:30:08. > :30:19.yards. Over ways Creek. Shallow green. -- Rae's Creek. 89 iron or so

:30:20. > :30:21.today. It teases you with club selection because the wind tends to

:30:22. > :30:46.swirl. That's a good shot from Lee. Setting

:30:47. > :30:54.an even par, six shots behind Jordan Spieth. Dustin Johnson. This will be

:30:55. > :30:56.a bonds away. Go right. Go way right!

:30:57. > :31:02.Is trying to skirt the pine trees. That is... Just got to get lucky in

:31:03. > :31:18.there. 505 yards. The fairway used to be

:31:19. > :31:25.much wider on the right and then these pines were planted. Water on

:31:26. > :31:30.the left and bailing out to the right. That is the way to do it if

:31:31. > :31:33.you're going to do it. A treacherous par-4. Only one birdie on that hole

:31:34. > :31:49.today. Jason Day, at 11. Second shot. Yes.

:31:50. > :31:55.That's really all you can do from back there.

:31:56. > :32:08.This is well worth seeing again. We might see a view more interesting

:32:09. > :32:14.shots. -- a few more. From this point... They cheered just rings

:32:15. > :32:22.round Augusta whenever something special has happened. Three birdies

:32:23. > :32:32.in four holes. It sounds like they're booing, doesn't it? But they

:32:33. > :32:37.are going "Kuch!" Remember at the US Open, with his dad announcing?

:32:38. > :32:44.Kjeldsen hit that enormous tee shot there on 13 around the corner, but

:32:45. > :32:51.he hit it so far it hugged the left fairway, he got hooked and he was

:32:52. > :32:57.forced to lay up there. At least he had a swing. Looking to go down the

:32:58. > :33:10.hill. Settle. Settle, OK... All right. Very powerful physique. But

:33:11. > :33:19.he's had a bit of luck, Danny Willett. Sometimes you need it.

:33:20. > :33:34.World ranked number 12, Danny, these days. He's a really highly regarded

:33:35. > :33:43.player. A very makeable chance here for Jordan Spieth. Up the hill,

:33:44. > :33:49.and... Got it! He's got a stranglehold on this golf tournament

:33:50. > :33:55.at the moment. That is a five shot lead! Heading into the back nine at

:33:56. > :34:00.Augusta. Four birdies in a row for Jordan Spieth. Danny Willett is

:34:01. > :34:07.going to have to make some decisions now. How aggressive will Danny

:34:08. > :34:15.Willett be on 13? He has still got a little tickler on 12 for par. Louis

:34:16. > :34:36.Oosthuizen, King of the swingers. Oh! No! Go on, go on! Ridiculous!

:34:37. > :34:45.Have you ever seen anything like that? Never in my life!

:34:46. > :34:56.CHEERING Jamie has replaced his ball but

:34:57. > :34:58.Louis's counts, it is a one! Well, can you Adam and Eve it? It was

:34:59. > :35:20.amazing. A little acknowledgement from the

:35:21. > :35:26.fellow behind. I imagine we will see this for years and years and years.

:35:27. > :35:33.I've never seen anything like this. It's like playing billiards!

:35:34. > :35:36.CHEERING Look at the lady in pink, I think

:35:37. > :35:45.she likes it even more than he does! What a lovely moment. That is what

:35:46. > :35:54.makes the Masters so special. Here is Justin Rose. Going for it here on

:35:55. > :36:05.15. The hole is cut all the way in the back right corner of the green.

:36:06. > :36:13.That is a safe place to be. Not that difficult a bunker shot.

:36:14. > :36:27.Paul Casey. Lovely, lovely putt. He has played some really competent

:36:28. > :36:33.golf this week. He doesn't have to make the Ryder Cup team, of course

:36:34. > :36:41.he can't play, which is very disappointing, as he hasn't taken

:36:42. > :36:52.his card on the European Tour. Lee Westwood, for his birdie at 12. Time

:36:53. > :36:53.running out for Lee. Jordan has got his foot on the gas and doesn't seem

:36:54. > :36:58.to be letting up. Now, the nemesis tee shot for Jordan

:36:59. > :37:19.Spieth, the 10th hole. He's leaning like he's lost it a

:37:20. > :37:25.little right. He went with a 3-wood. Yeah, stay on the fairway. Well,

:37:26. > :37:33.he's a long, long way. When you hit it down the right side, you don't

:37:34. > :37:39.take advantage of that big slope. A critical putt for Danny Willett here

:37:40. > :37:43.at 12. He is a delightful putter. He's worked on it. When he first

:37:44. > :37:47.came on the Tour he was a steady, good, decent butter, but now he is

:37:48. > :37:58.top class. The 13th to come, the par-5. The end of Amen Corner.

:37:59. > :38:07.Hideki has stumbled a bit today. This for birdie. There we go! Four

:38:08. > :38:13.bogeys, three birdies today for Matsuyama.

:38:14. > :38:36.Playing up the slope here, with tilt on the green from right to left.

:38:37. > :38:54.Kjeldsen. He needs a good one. That's not going to come back much.

:38:55. > :39:01.Go on. OK. That's a really good chance.

:39:02. > :39:06.STUDIO Jordan Spieth going for back-to-back

:39:07. > :39:12.titles here. Wire to wire titles as well. He has made a decisive move

:39:13. > :39:15.over the last few holes. A reminder of the nature of that from the

:39:16. > :39:21.defending champion. He made a bogey at the 5th but his response was

:39:22. > :39:28.immediate and decisive. This was at the 6th. His parting touch so

:39:29. > :39:33.commanding on these greens. Curling putt, absolutely no doubt about

:39:34. > :39:41.where that was going. 15 feet, in the birdie. His second, to the

:39:42. > :39:46.seventh, now. Spins back. A little bit of knowledge here, again. That

:39:47. > :39:57.would yield back-to-back birdies to go three clear of the field. Now,

:39:58. > :40:05.with a long par-5 8th. Chipping up here, well within putt no space able

:40:06. > :40:19.range. Such a tricky putt, downhill, four

:40:20. > :40:22.in a row, and a five shot lead for space will stop the others are

:40:23. > :40:27.really going to have to chase it now. Kjeldsen running out of holes.

:40:28. > :40:31.Dustin Johnson will have to make his move very quickly as well. Matthew

:40:32. > :40:45.Fitzpatrick, the leader in the clubhouse. Lovely, Hazel.

:40:46. > :40:52.You often see people over-borrow that one. You think it's going to

:40:53. > :41:00.turn left towards a little stream and it just doesn't earn as much as

:41:01. > :41:07.you think. -- doesn't turn. Justin Rose. Makeable bunker shot, this,

:41:08. > :41:12.for eagle, if he can hole it. Just like a putt. Good effort. Steady

:41:13. > :41:20.now. All of a sudden it is eight feet past.

:41:21. > :41:40.That tall shadow across the 11th green. He has nudged his par in.

:41:41. > :41:48.Interesting week for Justin. He has played some good, tidy golf, after a

:41:49. > :41:56.slightly slow start to the week. He's been up and down, Justin, after

:41:57. > :42:03.a slow start. He has. We will be hearing more of this young man.

:42:04. > :42:06.We're sure to be seeing a lot more of the 22-year-old physics graduate

:42:07. > :42:12.with his scientific approach to the game. That 70 to level par round is

:42:13. > :42:15.his last as an amateur. Bryson, give us your thoughts on being the

:42:16. > :42:21.leading amateur at this year's masters. Couldn't be better. It's an

:42:22. > :42:26.incredible honour and one that I was hopefully looking forward to having

:42:27. > :42:31.and now it's here. What do you do from here now? What are the lessons

:42:32. > :42:35.you've learned here at Augusta? Rest. That is honestly one thing. I

:42:36. > :42:41.was tired out there today. It certainly showed on a few shots. Ten

:42:42. > :42:45.and 11, 13. Second shot in on 13 wasn't very good, because I got a

:42:46. > :42:51.little lazy and ultimately because I was a little tired. If I can plan

:42:52. > :42:56.out my week a little bit better and control that aspect of it, I think I

:42:57. > :42:59.will be well rested and ready to go over the weekend. Unfortunately I

:43:00. > :43:03.didn't play the way I wanted to yesterday. Today was a fine score. I

:43:04. > :43:07.could have done a lot better but that is everybody out there, it's a

:43:08. > :43:11.tough course and that is Augusta National. You have a lock to be

:43:12. > :43:16.proud of, well done. Thank you very much, appreciate it.

:43:17. > :43:23.COMMENTATOR: He is certainly a star of the future. That is a long ways

:43:24. > :43:28.back. I think right is better than left if you're going to miss the

:43:29. > :43:32.green. Blasted this. Just don't like!

:43:33. > :43:47.-- just don't plug! Well, it's a fast one. It's not plugged, good

:43:48. > :43:49.lie. This is what faces Jason Day, the flag on the right-hand side, not

:43:50. > :43:59.much wind movement on it. APPLAUSE

:44:00. > :44:04.Is taking that line, if you come up short you go in the front bunker. If

:44:05. > :44:08.it hits the bank, it will tiptoe back into the water. This is a

:44:09. > :44:15.critical shot for Danny Willett. You don't have to go at the flag, get it

:44:16. > :44:20.somewhere on the green. The flag is protected by a Rae's Creek here. He

:44:21. > :44:25.is screwing his face up like he has pulled it just a hair, but he is on

:44:26. > :44:31.the green. That's a good shot. Difficult putt but that's OK. That's

:44:32. > :44:33.for eagle. Danny Willett has to be smart here. Over to 16 and Justin

:44:34. > :44:50.Rose. Sweet strike. He's aiming a little

:44:51. > :44:57.bit right of the flag. That is turning but I don't think it has

:44:58. > :44:58.gone that close to the flag. Certainly got their money 's worth

:44:59. > :45:09.today at 16! The folks at the back of the

:45:10. > :45:15.clubhouse, getting their photos taken. There's how it all looks.

:45:16. > :45:20.Jordan Spieth has a commanding lead, if you can have a commanding lead

:45:21. > :45:22.into the back nine at Augusta. Dustin Johnson 1-under and a great

:45:23. > :45:35.swathe of players at even par. Now, Rory. He can see the flag on

:45:36. > :45:38.the right side of the green, just left of the TV tower. He will try

:45:39. > :45:44.and get a high cut in there. 5-iron miles in the air but still

:45:45. > :46:21.managed to skip forward. Now, the challenge is that he's

:46:22. > :46:26.going to have to chase it a little. They all release are and this is a

:46:27. > :46:36.big shot now. Spieth needs to get up and down for par. That's not going

:46:37. > :46:39.to get there. You could 3-putt from there! You can get a little frisky

:46:40. > :46:48.on there. Johnson should have learnt a bit

:46:49. > :46:50.from his playing partner. There's not much break in it. It's the

:46:51. > :47:13.flattest green on the course. Second shot of Paul Casey. Paul is

:47:14. > :47:22.just over that big marker on ten, four in from the left. That's a real

:47:23. > :47:27.beauty. And there is another sign of things to come. The leaders get here

:47:28. > :47:48.in an hour or so. Bernhard Langer. He has played it

:47:49. > :48:01.pretty darn well. That is an excellent, excellent effort. Four

:48:02. > :48:09.birdies, no bogeys for Bernhard. Paul Casey, at the 18th. Wonderful,

:48:10. > :48:17.wonderful effort from Paul Casey. Out in 34. Back in 33. 1-under par

:48:18. > :48:26.and currently in third spot. Terrific. Well, you need to be

:48:27. > :48:30.sensible here, try to get the speed right. Very tough the judge, almost

:48:31. > :48:43.impossible to leave short once it gets the speed going. Downhill. If

:48:44. > :48:45.this goes in... Settle. Well, a little bit left. Not bad, though.

:48:46. > :48:59.Sweaty palmed time. He looks very comfortable to me

:49:00. > :49:04.right now. He is far enough out in front that he can post a score and

:49:05. > :49:12.put it all on Spieth. Spieth looks to be in total control, although

:49:13. > :49:17.this putt for par. He can't, can he? If he takes a dart at it he could

:49:18. > :49:21.knock it a yard by. His parting has been just...

:49:22. > :49:44.Well. That five shot lead could be cut to three here.

:49:45. > :49:55.A bit of movement from his left foot Justin Rose at the 16th. Yes.

:49:56. > :50:08.He's closing out the tournament in fine style, Justin Rose. Westwood

:50:09. > :50:13.for eagle, and this would go a long way towards his chances, with Spieth

:50:14. > :50:26.making bogey. He would get within four shots. Go on, keep turning.

:50:27. > :50:29.Doesn't quite turn as much as you think, coming down the slope. But a

:50:30. > :50:50.nice silky touch. Anywhere but short, here. Kjeldsen's

:50:51. > :51:05.second, at 14. Oh yes. That just doesn't seem right!

:51:06. > :51:16.Danny Willett has to make the most of the two par-5s, the 13th and the

:51:17. > :51:21.15th. This is for his birdie at the 13th. Just aiming a little bit right

:51:22. > :51:23.of centre. Lovely rhythm to his stroke. The arms and the putter

:51:24. > :51:33.shaft work as a unit. Sweetly done. Take a little bit of a chance with

:51:34. > :51:44.his second shot and reaps the benefits.

:51:45. > :51:56.Well, five shots down to three now, assuming he can make this. Ooh! He's

:51:57. > :52:01.got it. He pulled it a little bit. Jordan Spieth, a bogey at ten to

:52:02. > :52:04.start the final nine here at the Masters.

:52:05. > :52:08.STUDIO Not far behind, Paul Casey. He

:52:09. > :52:14.betters his opening round of 69 with a 67, the second round of 67 from an

:52:15. > :52:19.Englishman we have seen today, very encouraging indeed. Paul now with

:52:20. > :52:26.Rishi. Paul, wonderful round of golf today.

:52:27. > :52:30.How much of that was down to the conditions and how much was you? It

:52:31. > :52:36.was all me! CHUCKLES

:52:37. > :52:44.It is all still very difficult out there. The last three days have been

:52:45. > :52:48.absolutely brutal. We've seen quite a view tough pin positions. I was

:52:49. > :52:52.hearing some roars from the crowd, I'm issuing that have been some

:52:53. > :52:59.holes in one. 16 has been popular. You tied sixth last year and your

:53:00. > :53:04.top ten again this year. Was it a case of absence makes the heart grow

:53:05. > :53:08.fonder? It certainly does. It's a place I fell in love with on TV

:53:09. > :53:13.before I even stepped foot on the grounds here. My first Masters in

:53:14. > :53:17.2004, I was paired in the final group with Langer and I had a great

:53:18. > :53:25.view of what the Chris Hill and Ernie were doing behind us. -- what

:53:26. > :53:29.Phil and Ernie were doing behind us. Great place, I absolutely loved it.

:53:30. > :53:33.This was very much a case of, I would love to win a green jacket,

:53:34. > :53:36.and I take this year very seriously. Just an indication of how this

:53:37. > :53:40.tournament might finish, with the way Jordan is playing out in front.

:53:41. > :53:44.How difficult will it be for him coming home? I think we know it,

:53:45. > :53:51.don't we? You looks like he's cruising! He's got the perfect game

:53:52. > :53:55.for this place. The parting stroke -- the putting stroke is incredible.

:53:56. > :54:01.Danny is putting in a rate charge right now. There are certainly some

:54:02. > :54:06.opportunities, as Danny moves to 14, three in a row there, 14, 15, 16.

:54:07. > :54:10.You never know. We saw what Jordan did on the final hole yesterday.

:54:11. > :54:17.Paul Casey summed it up, the first three days were brutal. Although the

:54:18. > :54:19.holes are still a bit more generous today, they are still very

:54:20. > :54:31.difficult. A lot can happen. Oh! He's still fighting that shot to

:54:32. > :54:40.the right. He will still have a swing, though, it appears. He is

:54:41. > :54:44.just struggling with that driver a little, isn't he? Generally they

:54:45. > :54:49.have gone to the right, as we join Danny Willett on the 14th tea. Only

:54:50. > :54:52.the 12 major Championship he has played in but he looks like a

:54:53. > :54:58.veteran, the way he's playing. Very comfortable.

:54:59. > :55:18.McIlroy at 15, a little eagle chip. Just didn't hold. Will it? Ooh.

:55:19. > :55:32.Ken, this putt always brakes hard left than you would think. It has

:55:33. > :55:38.caught him as well. The green is looking rather parched and dry and

:55:39. > :55:52.shiny. McIlroy did make his birdie. He is on the 16th. 181 yards. Three

:55:53. > :55:59.holes in one on it today. Davis Love III commission aimed Larry and Louis

:56:00. > :56:02.Oosthuizen have all made a hole-in-one. Barely a ripple on the

:56:03. > :56:15.pond today. The wind has just died off.

:56:16. > :56:33.Oh! Little too hi trajectory. It just needed a little skid. Glorious

:56:34. > :56:59.strike. A joy to watch. Now Jason Day looks like he's going

:57:00. > :57:07.to take a crack at it. Only 193 yards, after a good tee shot here.

:57:08. > :57:18.Ooh. Where is that going? It's over... That is tough! You said that

:57:19. > :57:31.with meaning, Paul. That is really a hard shot! He's asking it to go. It

:57:32. > :57:34.does and it lands softly as well. This fellow is bound to win a major

:57:35. > :57:42.Championship. Just got too much game. If he can just dig deep and

:57:43. > :57:43.make one of those mid range putts, Dustin Johnson could put a real

:57:44. > :58:02.scare onto the leader. Can just about get the range to the

:58:03. > :58:05.green, but not easy to that' flag. Not the greatest lie for Lee

:58:06. > :58:17.Westwood. Kick right. Kick right! That's it,

:58:18. > :58:28.that's it. Oh my goodness. That is in position ZZ minus.

:58:29. > :58:39.Well now. Jordan. Forced to chip out here at the 11th and all of a

:58:40. > :58:48.sudden, a bogey on ten and in trouble on 11th.

:58:49. > :59:00.Got to hit sort of the left edge of the TV tower, if he can. It is going

:59:01. > :59:05.to skid a little. He's got that look in his eye, Ken!

:59:06. > :59:12.The English are doing well today, no doubt about it. He's got to try and

:59:13. > :59:19.play some kind of a little trick shot here. A little floppy... He's

:59:20. > :59:28.making it look easy. Gathering pace, settle. That's the best you can hope

:59:29. > :59:30.for, I feel. Been working so hard on his short game in the off-season,

:59:31. > :59:47.his chipping and his putting. Dustin Johnson, you're right, Ken.

:59:48. > :59:54.You feel like Dustin will have Majors in his future, but he's got

:59:55. > :00:02.to hole some critical putts. He's got one coming up. Justin Rose,

:00:03. > :00:07.second shot, critical, at 17. A little double-cross, there. You

:00:08. > :00:17.could hear him groaning as soon as he hit it! What a putt that will be.

:00:18. > :00:46.The patrons are going quiet. But they are ready to cheer.

:00:47. > :00:51.There are moments in a golf tournament like this that are

:00:52. > :00:57.critical moments, and once you look back on. He's got to be brave.

:00:58. > :01:06.Whatever you do, don't leave this short, give it a go. Oh my goodness,

:01:07. > :01:29.he has left it short. A good start to his back nine but

:01:30. > :01:30.that was a massive opportunity. He's put Spieth in trouble. He doesn't

:01:31. > :02:10.know that. Middle of the green. I don't think

:02:11. > :02:15.so. Right at it. Wow! He's hanging in there, he's hanging in there.

:02:16. > :02:19.Andrew Cotter back in the box. A good run of English people doing

:02:20. > :02:30.well. Certainly are, five of the top eight at the moment. Lee Westwood.

:02:31. > :02:39.This is so, so difficult. Through the Kolarov there. You can hear the

:02:40. > :02:46.roar coming from the 11. -- through the collar. A glorious touch from

:02:47. > :02:51.Lee Westwood. Just about as good as it gets. McIlroy blasted his birdie

:02:52. > :03:09.effort. A big moment for Danny Willett.

:03:10. > :03:16.Playing alongside Westwood. He'll settle himself again. He doesn't

:03:17. > :03:27.know what else is going on. At the moment, to get within two of Spieth.

:03:28. > :03:34.He's doing all he can, Danny Willett, pushing Spieth hardest of

:03:35. > :03:48.all. The other players in the field move 4-under with back-to-back

:03:49. > :03:53.birdies. Two behind. What an effort. Back to 16, the trials of Rory

:03:54. > :04:02.McIlroy. He started ten feet away for birdie, now he has ten feet for

:04:03. > :04:14.bogey. The disappointing week. Just a few too many miscues.

:04:15. > :04:22.Kjeldsen, his third to the 15th. It's hard when you lay up here, you

:04:23. > :04:28.invariably get a slightly hanging like a bit of a downslope. Should be

:04:29. > :04:30.hard, but Kjeldsen is a wonderful wedge player as well. That is to go

:04:31. > :04:52.2-under. Jason Day for birdie. All the way across the 17th, Justin

:04:53. > :05:10.Rose. He'll get to the edge of the slope.

:05:11. > :05:17.So difficult. Rose in bother at the penultimate hole.

:05:18. > :05:23.If he holes for birdie, a chance to tie with Paul Casey as clubhouse

:05:24. > :05:32.leader. He's got it, finishing 1-under par. Four way tie for fourth

:05:33. > :05:40.at the moment. Once more to the well he goes. With this magical stick.

:05:41. > :06:01.Tendency is to think this putt will move to the right. It's virtually

:06:02. > :06:11.dead straight up the hill. It actually went a little left, even.

:06:12. > :06:17.Goodness. That's the way he saw it. He slightly misread it. And Jordan

:06:18. > :06:20.Spieth has dropped shots on the 10th and 11th. He leads by one from

:06:21. > :06:26.anywhere Willett, who makes this walk to the 12th tee. All sorts of

:06:27. > :06:33.thoughts in his head. Justin Rose on 17. Just moments ago, Jordan Spieth

:06:34. > :06:41.was five ahead, standing on the 10th tee. That's going to be at least a

:06:42. > :06:49.3-putt for Justin Rose. Boy, how things change, Andrew. Five shots

:06:50. > :06:56.clear on ten. Now a 1-shot lead on the dangerous 12. Danny Willett

:06:57. > :07:03.stands on the tee at the reachable par-5 15th. It'll be very

:07:04. > :07:09.interesting to see as we watch this final pairing what's Danny Willett

:07:10. > :07:18.does on 15. He went for it in two. Left, left! The reason he's so

:07:19. > :07:25.exasperated, looks fine, but he's blocked out by the shadow casting

:07:26. > :07:29.trees. Cannot go for it in two. He'll have to pick a different way

:07:30. > :07:33.to skin this cat. Likely to lay up from their own unless he has a gap

:07:34. > :07:34.between those pine trees. This is probably the most dangerous shot in

:07:35. > :08:10.all of golf for a tournament leader. People mistakenly think about making

:08:11. > :08:16.a committed swing as swinging harder. But it is swinging with more

:08:17. > :08:18.certainty. He's aiming over the edge of the bunker here for protection.

:08:19. > :08:32.Just let it release. It's right. And that's water. And

:08:33. > :08:44.just like that five shots gone. Goodness. Total, total mis-hit

:08:45. > :08:51.there. As soon as he hit it, the crowd knew. This is the final round

:08:52. > :08:56.in 2014, his tee shot. Just posted a little bit, get up in the air a

:08:57. > :09:01.little bit. That was better than the shot he just hit, that was closer.

:09:02. > :09:08.He was a little afraid he might have too much club. Just wasn't as

:09:09. > :09:16.certain. Here it is again. He knew it right away. See the big swallow?

:09:17. > :09:21.The Adams Apple are and down. He really has to collect himself. The

:09:22. > :09:24.mental battle now becomes excruciating for Jordan Spieth. And

:09:25. > :09:32.the next shot is extremely difficult. He has a drop zone after

:09:33. > :09:37.the right, closer to the start of the 13th fairway. You can go as

:09:38. > :09:42.close as you want on that line you don't have to go to the drop zone.

:09:43. > :09:48.Warren Kelton on 15. There's a buzz around the course now. -- Soren

:09:49. > :10:04.Kjeldsen on 15. This breaks left, too. Goodness, opportunity lost.

:10:05. > :10:13.It so hard now for Spieth to make a bogey. As we go to Willett. He

:10:14. > :10:16.doesn't know where he sits in the tournament. Very few leaderboards

:10:17. > :10:21.out there. They are huge. There is one behind to the right of this

:10:22. > :10:25.green. He's got a little gap there, but he's surely... Finding the

:10:26. > :10:37.perfect yardage, down to the left so you are coming towards that pin. He

:10:38. > :10:41.gets to watch Westwood play first. And they are not so far away from

:10:42. > :10:48.the 12th tee they wouldn't have heard the murmuring.

:10:49. > :10:57.Suddenly, Westwood is alive in this event. You've been in the situation

:10:58. > :11:02.when you are out there, the big red number will go up on the board and

:11:03. > :11:12.the crowd will gasp. Willett, to be sensible.

:11:13. > :11:21.Down the left side as well. There is a flat spots down there. That is

:11:22. > :11:27.fairly famous to the players, very well-known. That you look for. It's

:11:28. > :11:33.a better angle as well. To the hole cut in the back right portion of the

:11:34. > :11:38.green. There's the murmur you are talking about, the school going up

:11:39. > :11:42.on the board. Going up all around the course, little explosions of

:11:43. > :12:00.noise. And Dustin Johnson has every chance now. 171 to the 14th. Comes

:12:01. > :12:07.round. No. He's painful, he knows it, just a foot or so it lacked.

:12:08. > :12:15.This is McIlroy while ago, for his par 16. Have a look at this. He's

:12:16. > :12:19.gone after the putt and being a fraction over. When you are hitting

:12:20. > :12:25.firmly and trying to hole with good pace and you are a fraction out, it

:12:26. > :12:36.really cost you. Justin Rose second shot at 18.

:12:37. > :12:52.He's hoisted it high in the air. It's gone.

:12:53. > :13:01.I don't know about you, but my palms are starting to sweat. This has got

:13:02. > :13:09.quite tight and this is easily the most difficult shot in golf. After

:13:10. > :13:19.you've dumped it in water with the lead. Finessed wedge. Long is no

:13:20. > :13:24.good, short is no good. Oh my word, he's chunked it and Jordan Spieth is

:13:25. > :13:27.sinking without trace in the Masters, this is extraordinary. From

:13:28. > :13:35.a player who has been so composed, so in control, two in the water and

:13:36. > :13:39.now what is going through his mind? He's tumbling down this leaderboard.

:13:40. > :13:43.It's heartbreaking to watch this, to see anybody going through this.

:13:44. > :14:07.Danny Willett doesn't realise it, but he is in the leading seat.

:14:08. > :14:13.Ball giving more of a forward skip than players have expected before.

:14:14. > :14:19.Another big hop. A good shot, though. How excited they'll be at

:14:20. > :14:24.Rotherham golf cord. Just the other side of the M1, I called it

:14:25. > :14:27.Sheffield. -- golf course. They'll be sitting there watching Danny

:14:28. > :14:36.Willett, who will shortly lead the Masters. Another attempt now for

:14:37. > :14:42.Jordan Spieth. Shot number five. It's gone long. What is happening?

:14:43. > :14:52.What's going on? Where does Jordan Spieth... ? This is an unravelling

:14:53. > :15:08.of the master. This is his key shot. Can't feel great about his setup, to

:15:09. > :15:12.aim that far right and hit that far right when he is trying to go over

:15:13. > :15:25.the bunker with nothing more than an eight or 9-iron. That is a full

:15:26. > :15:37.on... And then from there, here is his heavy one. Goodness me.

:15:38. > :15:46.A couple of holes ago people were writing off this Masters, saying

:15:47. > :15:53.it's a Spieth procession. He was 4-5 shots clear. Bogeys on ten, 11...

:15:54. > :15:57.And he's play five here at the par 312. It's claimed victims over the

:15:58. > :16:15.years, 12, but Jordan Spieth, nobody saw this coming.

:16:16. > :16:26.A good shot there, something at least. For the first time all week,

:16:27. > :16:31.Jordan Spieth has given up the lead. Lee Westwood, this is for evil

:16:32. > :16:39.across the green. What if this went in? And it has gone in! Oh my

:16:40. > :16:46.goodness. Just like that, Westwood one back. One back of his playing

:16:47. > :17:02.partner, Danny Willett, who now leads the Masters. Wow! The magic of

:17:03. > :17:08.the Masters. Who said it was gone? At the 18th. Justin Rose. Fiddly

:17:09. > :17:22.one. I think it's a very good thing Danny

:17:23. > :17:26.Willett doesn't know what's happening on the 12th yet. This, for

:17:27. > :17:51.birdie. And that two shot lead. No, no... Not making any ground on

:17:52. > :17:54.Jordan Spieth. Everyone around this arena, there is a huge leaderboard

:17:55. > :17:56.beside 15, they will shortly see the numbers change once Jordan Spieth

:17:57. > :18:14.has tapped this in. This for seven. Extraordinary, seven on the 12th,

:18:15. > :18:20.far from done yet, but Jordan Spieth back 1-under par and now he is

:18:21. > :18:27.chasing. Danny Willett 's lead the Masters by two.

:18:28. > :18:49.How will Danny Willett react when he sees he is leading by two? How will

:18:50. > :18:56.Dustin Johnson react? What will Westwood do? Westwood only 1-under

:18:57. > :19:09.par. Still 3-under, the board was wrong. Get getting down in two from

:19:10. > :19:13.here is extraordinary. Wow. Danny Willett leads by one from Lee

:19:14. > :19:22.Westwood. On the final day of the Masters. It's on the 16th tee and

:19:23. > :19:25.green spectators gather, there is a big leaderboard, they were all see

:19:26. > :19:27.Jordan Spieth's name tumbling down in a moment. Dustin Johnson, bit of

:19:28. > :20:01.right-to-left. Players, when you think they are

:20:02. > :20:06.having to chase, might give it a little bit more. They don't really

:20:07. > :20:10.need to chase Spieth. He's down with them. Good putt by Dustin Johnson,

:20:11. > :20:34.he's still right there. For par. Two in a row. He'll be

:20:35. > :20:40.kicking himself tonight. Just a few minutes, when he sees what's

:20:41. > :21:04.happened to Jordan. Driver for Spieth.

:21:05. > :21:16.A great drive now. So, he'll be chasing par-5 on the back nine he'll

:21:17. > :21:25.go for it, no doubt about that. A brave tee shot. OK, now we get to

:21:26. > :21:35.hear how Westwood will react. Surely he knows by now. Poorer shot. After

:21:36. > :21:44.his birdie at nine he played temporary, missing way left.

:21:45. > :21:53.Certainly feeling it. Dustin Johnson ready to unleash on the par-5.

:21:54. > :21:59.Goodness me. Don't hold back. That's left as well, he's going to be

:22:00. > :22:03.forced to lay up from there. Boy, things can turn quickly here at

:22:04. > :22:08.Augusta National, at nobody expected to see Jordan Spieth go belly up

:22:09. > :22:17.like that on 12. And it's this group now, in charge. These two in

:22:18. > :22:29.Richmond. Danny Willett. -- these two Englishmen in charge. Let's have

:22:30. > :22:36.a listen. This is all new for him, I'm sure he's never experienced what

:22:37. > :22:57.he is feeling right now. Take a deep breath.

:22:58. > :23:05.Swinging a big 8-iron from right-to-left got 181 yards, a

:23:06. > :23:10.massive shot, fantastic result. All of the sudden, Danny Willett in

:23:11. > :23:16.control of his own fate may be, here. If he knows where he stands in

:23:17. > :23:21.the Masters now, he's handling it superbly.

:23:22. > :23:36.We'll go back to the 18th and Justin Rose. Costly, that bogey for him on

:23:37. > :23:43.17. And now on 18. So he'll slip just outside the top ten.

:23:44. > :23:50.A round of 70. And a good run on both nines, three birdies to the end

:23:51. > :23:55.of the first nine, three in the middle of the second. Couple of

:23:56. > :24:00.fives to finish. That was the undoing of what was shaping up as a

:24:01. > :24:04.beautiful round. 2-under par today for Justin Rose. What over and I'm

:24:05. > :24:09.sure he'll be fascinated. The man who came tied second last year to

:24:10. > :24:12.see how his compatriots are faring. Let's hear from Justin.

:24:13. > :24:18.Funny day, after the fifth you played some wonderful golf. I'm

:24:19. > :24:22.getting the sense you are a bit frustrated by the finish. Of course,

:24:23. > :24:30.I mean, under par for the tournament. Drove it perfectly down

:24:31. > :24:38.17, 18 is a birdie hole, too, with the pin. You could finish 3-under,

:24:39. > :24:40.not 1-over. At that stage there is a big difference, could have posted

:24:41. > :24:46.something in the clubhouse, but I didn't realise Jordan made... I

:24:47. > :24:50.didn't think I was in that on that to win it, at that point you try to

:24:51. > :24:54.have a strong finish. Fought hard to the middle of my round, but it

:24:55. > :24:58.together and really enjoyed it. Sunday at Augusta is a fun day to

:24:59. > :25:01.play golf. Quick question about what's happening with your

:25:02. > :25:06.compatriots, Danny and Lee Westwood at the top of the leaderboard now.

:25:07. > :25:10.It's news to me, just got into the clubhouse and Lee chipped in for

:25:11. > :25:13.eagle and Danny hit a great shot into 16. They are flying the flag

:25:14. > :25:19.unbelievably well and westward looking for that elusive major. --

:25:20. > :25:26.Westwood. Thanks so much for stopping by. COMMENTATOR: 20 years

:25:27. > :25:36.after Nick Faldo won and English flags all over the leaderboard.

:25:37. > :25:47.Matsuyama after this one. He's not out of it. Level par at the moment.

:25:48. > :25:57.Naz he's driven it down the left side into 15. What's he doing here?

:25:58. > :26:05.Is he going for that? No way. Wave! I've never seen anything like that

:26:06. > :26:12.from there. Dustin Johnson's going after it. He's made the decision, he

:26:13. > :26:17.knows where he is, clearly, and he's gone for it. It's one of the shots

:26:18. > :26:21.of the tournament. Outstanding from Dustin Johnson. He can hit the

:26:22. > :26:27.shots, remember on 18 at Chambers Bay, the beautiful drive at second,

:26:28. > :26:33.it all went undone for him on the green. Westwood now to tie the lead.

:26:34. > :26:46.He's hit it... One of those. You can hear the travelling

:26:47. > :27:11.supporters now. OK. Oh no, it's gone. OK... It's not

:27:12. > :27:24.overly difficult, extremely fast, has to be judged perfectly. Deep

:27:25. > :27:32.breath, Jordan. Almost a Norman -esque collapse. Three shots behind

:27:33. > :27:40.walking down the 13th fairway. Unbelievable. I hope he gathers

:27:41. > :27:43.himself from here and managers to pull out something extraordinary.

:27:44. > :27:47.Danny Willett is the lead at the moment. What a tee shot he has hit

:27:48. > :27:56.on 16, a chance to move to 5-under par. One of only two bogey free

:27:57. > :28:02.players today, Paul Casey in his round of 67. You can hear the boys

:28:03. > :28:05.-- hear the noise is bouncing around the pines. This is to extend his

:28:06. > :28:23.lead. And it goes! Another one for

:28:24. > :28:29.Willett, he leads by two, two holes from home. Is the green jacket to be

:28:30. > :28:37.his? What around he's putting together, what a story we have here.

:28:38. > :28:44.Danny Willett so close now. The biggest putt of his young life. Soon

:28:45. > :28:58.the biggest tee shot. And a birdie four McIlroy to close. -- birdie

:28:59. > :29:04.four McIlroy. Many thought it would be Rory's weeks, but could it be

:29:05. > :29:09.Danny Willett's week. 5-under par, what an extraordinary turnaround.

:29:10. > :29:14.From Amen Corner and beyond. Lee Westwood with the chip at 15. Within

:29:15. > :29:19.two shots of his compatriot Dustin Johnson who is making a move at 15.

:29:20. > :29:22.And Paul Casey up there. Extraordinary day for the English 20

:29:23. > :29:25.years after Sir Nick Faldo's third green jacket. Will we bridge the gap

:29:26. > :29:58.at last? Danny Willett has looks so composed

:29:59. > :30:02.and in complete command of himself all day. This was his first birdie

:30:03. > :30:09.at six. To go three behind Jordan Spieth at that point. Another birdie

:30:10. > :30:14.at the 8th. And then we were into the back nine. And he really started

:30:15. > :30:21.to make his move. This was at the 13th. He pops that one in. And he

:30:22. > :30:29.was motoring. What a shot this one is that the 14th.

:30:30. > :30:36.A beautiful iron, this one. And a very big moment. That was to what,

:30:37. > :30:50.three and a half feet? Birdie putt to come.

:30:51. > :30:57.And now the 16th, with the tumultuous events at 12 featuring

:30:58. > :31:02.Jordan Speith. He knew he had the lead and he was very much up to the

:31:03. > :31:10.task here. And absolutely beautifully struck iron. He would

:31:11. > :31:19.slot that one and it is now Danny Willett with a three shot lead over

:31:20. > :31:23.his compatriot, Lee Westwood. Rather golf club and everyone around rather

:31:24. > :31:35.and Sheffield area is getting very excited, I'm sure.

:31:36. > :31:47.Spieth, got to come down the slope. This is good. This will go on. He

:31:48. > :31:54.has that for a birdie. That to get back to 2-under. He is suddenly four

:31:55. > :32:05.shots adrift of Danny Willett now. Extraordinary turnaround. Well,

:32:06. > :32:10.let's just watch this one. Matsuyama for a birdie at the 14th. And

:32:11. > :32:14.he's... No, he's missed it. It's been very difficult and in a way an

:32:15. > :32:17.eventful up until about two and a half hours ago, and now it's been

:32:18. > :32:23.worth the price of admission all the way through. Johnson here at the

:32:24. > :32:34.15th. If this one Rakels in... It will just add a bit more flavour to

:32:35. > :32:39.the pot. Well, I don't know, would you believe it? He might be the main

:32:40. > :32:45.threat to Danny Willett now, Dustin Johnson. There have been some great

:32:46. > :32:49.disasters at that 12th hole. I think Tom Wise craft got a nine or an 11

:32:50. > :32:59.or something ridiculous, when he should have won this. -- Wisecroft.

:33:00. > :33:07.It went through the trees down this 15th. An amazing shot. Now he's two

:33:08. > :33:19.behind Danny Willett. Spieth to set himself on the right course again.

:33:20. > :33:25.It still doesn't fail him. The putter never betrays him. Jordan

:33:26. > :33:29.Spieth back to two under. The 15th still to come.

:33:30. > :33:39.Great test of character and skill and nerve now for the young fellow.

:33:40. > :33:48.Extraordinary. Now here is Willett. Great test for him also, the final

:33:49. > :33:53.two holes. He is smoking it. He is hitting the ball so well. He looks

:33:54. > :34:01.entirely composed. That might be a little bit awkward, just up against

:34:02. > :34:09.the collar of the first cut. He had a very good finish in the WGC HSBC

:34:10. > :34:14.in China. He finished well in Doral. In a way he has been serving his

:34:15. > :34:15.apprenticeship. Rory McIlroy, a view birdies out there today but not to

:34:16. > :34:22.be. If we could ask you to sum up what

:34:23. > :34:30.looks like a tough week for you? Yes, tough weekend at least. I mean,

:34:31. > :34:36.looking back on this week, we had a brief moment to reflect on it and

:34:37. > :34:41.probably yesterday I just didn't get anything going and probably went out

:34:42. > :34:48.there a little bit too tentatively and not playing my game, which in

:34:49. > :34:52.the end cost me. I was a little bit too far back. Today as well, I

:34:53. > :34:56.should have been aggressive and I was hanging onto my shots a bit and

:34:57. > :35:00.not letting it go and I missed a view right early on and made a view

:35:01. > :35:05.birdies. But I battled back well and shot under par in the end. Another

:35:06. > :35:09.disappointing week here and that continues, I guess. Hopefully it

:35:10. > :35:14.won't be long, thank you for stopping by. Thank you.

:35:15. > :35:21.Yes, the Grand Slam is on hold for another 12 months at least for Rory.

:35:22. > :35:25.I'm sure he will be fascinated to see how his friends and colleagues

:35:26. > :35:30.are going to do here. Can Danny Willett hold on? You certainly looks

:35:31. > :35:36.very much in control of himself. Dustin Johnson two shots behind. Lee

:35:37. > :35:40.Westwood, his playing partner, two under. Jordan Spieth, such is the

:35:41. > :35:52.measure of the man, he birdies the very next hole, of course. And now

:35:53. > :35:58.he is within three once again. PETER ALLISS: well, what excitement.

:35:59. > :36:05.Spieth has now got to hold itself together. Can he finish under par

:36:06. > :36:10.from here? He may have lost this ball in the trees. It clatters

:36:11. > :36:22.about. I don't know where it went. I think it went backwards a bit, not

:36:23. > :36:32.sure. It is an awkward one here, right on the edge of the cuts,

:36:33. > :36:38.Andrew. Two fours and he could be the owner of a green jacket.

:36:39. > :36:43.Comfortably. Middle of the Law on. Nothing fancy. If you can do it...

:36:44. > :37:04.Two Brown and it's yours. -- two fours and

:37:05. > :37:08.it's yours. Maybe too far. Just gone over the back. Left him a tricky one

:37:09. > :37:15.across the slope and down the hill. Looks odds-on to be a five from

:37:16. > :37:19.there. ANDREW COTTER: she will surely know where he stands now. He

:37:20. > :37:26.was the last player to arrive. His wife Nicole gave birth to their son.

:37:27. > :37:32.He arrived early and was able to get out here and play. Lee Westwood,

:37:33. > :37:41.after that rather sorry bogey on the last. Can he find one here? Another

:37:42. > :37:47.wide one, where Justin Rose was. That was a sad 3-putt from Westwood.

:37:48. > :37:58.Looks as if he may well be in the frame again but not the winner.

:37:59. > :38:09.Johnson now, at the 16th. Is he going straight at it or right? Hop

:38:10. > :38:22.up, hop up! Not quite. It will fall back. Still makeable.

:38:23. > :38:33.This was McIlroy, how he finished. All the putting troubles he has had

:38:34. > :38:37.all week, rather a cruel irony he knocks in the last. It wasn't just

:38:38. > :38:41.his putting, he was a bit wayward as well from tee to green. Plenty of

:38:42. > :38:49.birdies out there but far too many mistakes as well. Six bogeys, seven

:38:50. > :38:54.birdies and 1-under par. I mean, well, he can do a lot better. We

:38:55. > :38:58.expect a lot better than that. Spieth has been a lot better, he

:38:59. > :39:07.clattered into the trees and it does come out here.

:39:08. > :39:23.That is the television studio behind this green. He will be aiming sort

:39:24. > :39:31.of at that, at worst. You got a line on that flag? Yeah, it's anywhere

:39:32. > :39:35.from... The tower is over. Come on, good tempo.

:39:36. > :39:43.Can he pull himself together and finish with one birdie and the rest

:39:44. > :40:09.pars over these closing holes? Go. Go hard! Go! Urging it on. He

:40:10. > :40:15.needs it to come round now. It just took a little hop left. A bit

:40:16. > :40:20.unlucky there. A bit more pace on that and it could have ended up down

:40:21. > :40:24.by the flag. Now here is Willett. Let's have a look at this one. There

:40:25. > :40:34.you see it looks fairly innocuous but there is a big slope all the

:40:35. > :40:41.way, left to right, down the hill. All those hours of chipping in

:40:42. > :40:49.practice. It looks a good speed. That looks a very good speed. That

:40:50. > :40:55.is a magnificent shot. Great shots are not always the big bashes. That

:40:56. > :41:03.was delicate, nerveless. Control his imagination. Wonderful shot. He just

:41:04. > :41:11.has a little tap in. A bit more than a little tap in, but not far. Kenny

:41:12. > :41:16.Perry was there in 2009, two clear with two to play and made a bit of a

:41:17. > :41:20.hash of it. That is why they always talk about the last nine holes on

:41:21. > :41:25.Sunday, not just here but every tournament, that is where the nerves

:41:26. > :41:31.get jangling and mistakes are made. He looks calm. His caddy has gone a

:41:32. > :41:36.pale shade! But he looks calm. There is $1.8 million on the line and if

:41:37. > :41:42.they work on 10%, that's not too bad is it? 180,000 or whatever it is

:41:43. > :41:45.coming up. Now, Westwood. Playing alongside Willett. Really needs to

:41:46. > :42:28.hole this. Now, Dustin Johnson, a big moment

:42:29. > :42:34.for him, to move within one. Get in! No, not close. Willett fans breathe

:42:35. > :42:55.slightly more easily. We take so much for granted now,

:42:56. > :43:01.don't we? This magnificent setup here and all the prize-money. The

:43:02. > :43:12.early days of Arnold Palmer, he was one of the ones that got it all

:43:13. > :43:25.going really. Lee Westwood now for a par. Well done, Lee. Well done, well

:43:26. > :43:30.done, well done. Thank the good Lord for Arnold Palmer. He was the

:43:31. > :43:40.creator of the modern game, in terms... Well, he was there, he was

:43:41. > :43:43.the exciting figure of the day. Without the sponsors and without

:43:44. > :43:48.players like him, the growth of the game, they wouldn't have been making

:43:49. > :43:52.the money they are now. Danny Willett now, this is a little

:43:53. > :44:05.tester. It looks nothing, does it? Probably 30 odd inches. Ooh. One

:44:06. > :44:21.hole to go. One hole to go. Fewest attempts

:44:22. > :44:28.before a Masters win. Well, of course the men who won it -- the man

:44:29. > :44:33.who won it for the first time the crew victory it for the first time!

:44:34. > :44:40.Chubby Chandler, his manager, his glorious manager, will be waking, --

:44:41. > :44:48.will be waiting, big hanky in hand, is crying tears of joy. Dustin

:44:49. > :44:52.Johnson gets par, can he finished three, three? It's been done. For

:44:53. > :44:56.the first time this week, it's exciting. Nerve wracking. All down

:44:57. > :45:09.to this fellow. Well, it's downhill. And just the

:45:10. > :45:27.slightest touch. Needs something magical now, Spieth.

:45:28. > :45:36.Control alt delete, start again on the 15th, because that is where he

:45:37. > :45:39.needs something. Matsuyama for birdie.

:45:40. > :45:49.That was a poor putt. He is still in there, Matsuyama. Because things can

:45:50. > :45:56.happen. A deep breath for Danny Willett. He takes a deep breath. He

:45:57. > :46:04.hits the ball very hard. All he wants... " all he wants"...

:46:05. > :46:17.Now then, a fume or deep breaths and of we go. -- a few more deep

:46:18. > :46:34.breaths. Going through the whole routine. One

:46:35. > :47:17.good, clean, straight drive. He's done it, Ken, I think. He's...

:47:18. > :47:23.He's done is beautifully! He's taken a 3-wood and taken it down and

:47:24. > :47:27.squeezing it out so he can't reach that bunker.

:47:28. > :47:33.It was Spieth to was running away with this an hour and a half ago. He

:47:34. > :47:49.has this for his par at the 14th. Took seven at the short 12th hole.

:47:50. > :47:58.Twice in the water at the 12th. Seven.

:47:59. > :48:26.Johnson. Dustin Johnson at the 17th. Couple of shots behind. He cracks

:48:27. > :48:30.it. The still be in the centre. -- it looks to be in the centre. When

:48:31. > :48:36.he hits those, they stay hit, don't they? Oh yes!

:48:37. > :48:40.Danny Willett leads by two going up the 18th. He has got his tee shot in

:48:41. > :48:47.play. STUDIO

:48:48. > :48:51.Well, it's hard to take in some of the incredible events of the last

:48:52. > :48:56.couple of hours, because Jordan Spieth looked free and clear, didn't

:48:57. > :49:00.he? After those four birdies in succession, he was five shots ahead

:49:01. > :49:05.of a few of them on the 10th tee. And then three behind walking down

:49:06. > :49:08.the 13th fairway. It really is very difficult to process, I'm sure not

:49:09. > :49:13.least for us but for him. Paul Azinger is with me. Trying to make

:49:14. > :49:20.sense of this. It has been the undoing of many a Masters champion

:49:21. > :49:24.in the past, the Golden Bear at 12. It is scary when you have a 1-shot

:49:25. > :49:28.lead or a two shot lead and it proved to be the case today.

:49:29. > :49:33.Jordan's setup was a bit too weak to the right or something and he wasn't

:49:34. > :49:38.able to square the ball and carry it over the bunker. This one could have

:49:39. > :49:41.been anything a bad lie, his nerves... A whole bunch of things

:49:42. > :49:47.could have happened here and just like that it's all gone away for

:49:48. > :49:50.Jordan Spieth. It's heartbreaking, it's gut wrenching and sadly if he

:49:51. > :49:54.doesn't win, he will have to put the jacket on whoever does win this

:49:55. > :49:59.event. Right now Danny Willett is in the driving seat. On his way to a

:50:00. > :50:06.quadruple bogey seven and three of the lead, as he walked off this

:50:07. > :50:11.particular green. For a man who has had such a spell, such a hold on

:50:12. > :50:15.this course, the spell was finally broken. It's taken almost two years

:50:16. > :50:20.for this to happen! It's not over yet but this is the man firmly in

:50:21. > :50:24.command as he walks up the 18th fairway. Does he have a date with

:50:25. > :50:28.destiny today? Will that green jacket be slipping on those

:50:29. > :50:35.shoulders of 28-year-old Danny Willett? The 28-year-old could

:50:36. > :50:40.become the first Englishman in 20 years, the first British player for

:50:41. > :50:45.20 years and the first European to 17 years. It's been a very long wait

:50:46. > :50:50.for stop there is still some milage, as there always is, in these closing

:50:51. > :51:01.moments of the Masters. COMMENTATOR: A big, deep breath.

:51:02. > :51:09.Well, what a moment for this young man. This would be a tremendous

:51:10. > :51:23.victory. But before that, drive down the 15th. He has pulled it left, I

:51:24. > :51:30.think. His driving has been errant, hasn't it? He has hit pushes over

:51:31. > :51:32.the last few days and hooks. He hasn't

:51:33. > :51:45.He hasn't driven really well. Don't forget this fellow, Dustin Johnson.

:51:46. > :51:50.He doesn't shy away from anything. 157 left. Just four over the bunker!

:51:51. > :51:57.And he hasn't made it. They are making Danny Willett and his job a

:51:58. > :52:05.little bit easier every minute that expires. Remember Arnold Palmer won

:52:06. > :52:09.in a four way tie here. Also is of silly things can happen. Lee

:52:10. > :52:20.Westwood first, out of the trees, going to scuttle one up. -- all

:52:21. > :52:26.sorts of silly things can happen. Got a pretty straight shot between

:52:27. > :52:33.the bunkers, Ken, from here. Obviously can't go directly at the

:52:34. > :52:43.flag. He's really got to get it chasing behind the shaft.

:52:44. > :53:08.He hits them pretty solid from the pine needles, the pine straw. This

:53:09. > :53:27.is getting the distance correct. 75. You can do it. Johnson Smart, his

:53:28. > :53:33.caddy, known as Smartie. Not a bad player himself at all. What a moment

:53:34. > :53:44.for British golf, English golf, if he can do it. Good swing. I think it

:53:45. > :53:54.is straight enough. Yes, it is now! What a nice little bounce! Ooh yes!

:53:55. > :53:57.The golfing gods are smiling. Absolutely. He won't have seen that

:53:58. > :54:04.result. That is terrific, really terrific. Yes, if he had hit that

:54:05. > :54:09.four or five yards to the left it would have pitched on the upslope

:54:10. > :54:12.and probably not made the green. Lovely.

:54:13. > :54:20.What you're concerned about is your club hitting that. Yes, I'm

:54:21. > :54:25.concerned... So this still interferes.

:54:26. > :54:34.What a great fuss this is. As if it makes any difference, really. If you

:54:35. > :54:40.are within a foot. Well, I don't write the rules. Thank God, somebody

:54:41. > :54:46.said... A delicate one here, Peter. A little bit too close to the ball.

:54:47. > :54:49.I think that's probably curtains the Dustin Johnson.

:54:50. > :55:01.I want to make sure that I am taking a legal drop. OK. First off. So I

:55:02. > :55:05.want you to tell me... That is why rounds take five hours. What

:55:06. > :55:13.difference would it make if he dropped it six inches further...

:55:14. > :55:20.Well, in that case... Here he comes! They are all cheering. I wonder what

:55:21. > :55:25.he's thinking at this moment. Ken, the emotions must be racing now.

:55:26. > :55:34.There's nothing like it. Can you imagine a chance to win the green

:55:35. > :55:39.jacket and your dreams come true. It's not there yet but he is looking

:55:40. > :55:42.mighty strong. Sometimes something happens, you have a baby or

:55:43. > :55:46.something happens in your life and it just pulls the best out of you.

:55:47. > :55:55.Sometimes it frightens the life out of you! But it would be wonderful.

:55:56. > :56:01.It if he can do it. Just gently, two putts, and then see. Jordan is

:56:02. > :56:02.trying his luck for another drop here, because that was never in his

:56:03. > :56:23.way. This is a par-5 and he is there for

:56:24. > :56:28.two. Currently on -2, three behind. I'm sure thoughts are racing through

:56:29. > :56:33.his head and his imagination will be technical, 3-D, everything. He will

:56:34. > :56:38.be thinking also some things, as Westwood concentrates now. A little

:56:39. > :56:44.chip and a bit speedy. Not too speedy! Not one of his best. Looks

:56:45. > :57:06.as if he's going to be the bridesmaid once more.

:57:07. > :57:13.Well, the Willett team. Chubby Chandler, who started a business in

:57:14. > :57:18.management and has been very successful now, sold it, bought it

:57:19. > :57:22.back, sold it, bought it back. He has had some good runners over the

:57:23. > :57:30.years. Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy. Lee Westwood another one.

:57:31. > :57:34.This is the moment. He leads by two. If he nudges this one, I don't think

:57:35. > :57:44.anyone can catch him. You can never say never, but... I've seen this

:57:45. > :57:48.putt many times. It looks like it's going to swing quite a lot from

:57:49. > :57:55.right to left and it has a tendency to swing to the right. Is this the

:57:56. > :58:00.one that Mark O'Meara holed? It was a bit nearer to the tee but the same

:58:01. > :58:05.sort of angle, yes. Just a little bit of right-to-left, but I think

:58:06. > :58:11.two putts... Well, he would love to knock it in of course, but this is

:58:12. > :58:14.wonderful stuff. Lovely stuff for European golf, British golf,

:58:15. > :58:26.everybody. But particularly this young man.

:58:27. > :58:35.That looks not bad but he wishes it was six inches nearer!

:58:36. > :58:50.CHUCKLES Just going to walk here and have a

:58:51. > :58:54.talk to my caddy... Back to Spieth. He is a master wedge player. Don't

:58:55. > :59:03.count this fellow out. He's got a hell of a line. This will come

:59:04. > :59:27.seeking that cup out. A little unlucky. Sort of drawing at

:59:28. > :59:32.a straight bounce. Still a lovely shot, high-quality strike.

:59:33. > :59:42.Now, Westwood. For a par-4 at the final hole. Two under par.

:59:43. > :59:49.CHEERING Well done Lee Westwood. Finishing

:59:50. > :59:56.with a four. He finishes the tournament at two under. Not going

:59:57. > :00:02.to win it, but it has done him the power of good.

:00:03. > :00:14.Willett. 18 inches, maybe a bit less. Gently, gently. Well done. Now

:00:15. > :00:21.we just wait and see, we wait and see.

:00:22. > :00:37.A hug from smarty. A brilliant effort. Tingles down his spine.

:00:38. > :00:45.Generous applause from the American crowd. A lot of Europeans. A lot of

:00:46. > :00:50.European spectators here. What a treat they've had the last two or

:00:51. > :00:55.three hours. Before that it was hard work and misery for many, but today

:00:56. > :01:02.number 89 is top of the pile at the moment. Don't go to bed just yet,

:01:03. > :01:13.plenty more to see. Marvellous reception as well.

:01:14. > :01:22.Here is Chubster. He'll be modelling Toby jugs soon. And garden

:01:23. > :01:26.ornaments. Though they are not in fashion now. Great. Take your time,

:01:27. > :01:42.make sure the scorecard is correct. What a turnaround, Ken. You wouldn't

:01:43. > :01:48.have believed it. And hour and a half, two hours ago. All sorts of

:01:49. > :01:57.funny things can happen still. You never know. It's a remarkable

:01:58. > :02:06.achievement from Willett. Dustin Johnson at the 17th for his par. The

:02:07. > :02:09.most unlikely one to hole over the crest of the hill. He's holed

:02:10. > :02:18.absolutely nothing on this back nine. Nicely judged but very tricky,

:02:19. > :02:42.he'll have it for his birdie. He is 1-over par so he can't win.

:02:43. > :02:54.Isn't it amazing how this back nine always has touch brilliant drama.

:02:55. > :03:00.Sixes and sevens. Home in 30, 30 one. If he pops this in it'll get

:03:01. > :03:15.him a birdie. He needs to birdie the last two if he holes two of the last

:03:16. > :03:21.three. Anxious looking local crowd. If he misses this, he'll have to

:03:22. > :03:28.birdie the last three. He did it. Schwarzel. Remember Ed Sneed, he

:03:29. > :03:43.bogeyed the last three to lose by one. Just disturbed.

:03:44. > :03:52.No matter how long you take, you still got to stand over it and not

:03:53. > :04:04.kidding, not like tennis cricket where the ball comes at you and you

:04:05. > :04:15.swish at it. He's done it. Nerveless, that one, nerveless, well

:04:16. > :04:20.done. It can be very intimidating down here, but fortunately for Danny

:04:21. > :04:25.Willett, he's now marking his card. When you start hearing these cheers

:04:26. > :04:29.and you are an overseas player... They are fairly partisan crowd.

:04:30. > :04:35.Willett can do nothing about now, his day is done, unless, as a

:04:36. > :04:44.play-off. -- unless there's a play-off.

:04:45. > :04:49.The thing is not to get totally carried away. You never know, you

:04:50. > :05:19.never ever know. How nice. You still have to mark your card and

:05:20. > :05:28.get it right. Spieth has a chance. It's a big ask, isn't it? Exciting

:05:29. > :05:33.though, isn't it? Two birdies in the last three and it'll be a play-off.

:05:34. > :05:39.Three birdies to win. After seven at the short hole. Hole-in-one.

:05:40. > :05:44.Hole-in-ones, we've had two or three here today. The lady in pink has

:05:45. > :05:47.been jumping up and down like a yo-yo. I think she was there

:05:48. > :05:53.yesterday, she never leaves that seat. From one year to the next. If

:05:54. > :05:57.you been watching everyone knows what you've got to do, you got to

:05:58. > :06:02.get that ball coming in three or four yards right of the flag. About

:06:03. > :06:04.pin height pitching, drifts around, playing 181 yards. The least wind I

:06:05. > :06:49.think we've had all week. It's high, that, Peter. Tremendous

:06:50. > :06:58.shot. Yap at Aberdeen. It's coming back, Ken, getting nearer. --

:06:59. > :07:04.yabba-dabba-do. Fabulous shot, four at the last hole having been at an

:07:05. > :07:18.awkward spot from the tee. He's not given up.

:07:19. > :07:27.You get the impression he's quite enjoying it as well. The cut and

:07:28. > :07:32.thrust. I'm not sure about that. Willett checking over his scorecard

:07:33. > :07:36.in the recorder 's hut. They don't call them huts here, they are

:07:37. > :07:57.chalets. Well, well, well. Striding up there,

:07:58. > :08:04.thinking what might be or what might have been. Remember Roberto? Oh yes.

:08:05. > :08:09.Roberto diverge Enzo signed for the wrong card. He would have got into a

:08:10. > :08:14.play-off, you didn't even have a chance to win, he signed for the

:08:15. > :08:27.wrong school and was disqualified. It happened a couple of times in

:08:28. > :08:28.professional golf, women's golf. -- Roberto De Vicenzo.

:08:29. > :08:36.A beautifully put together round of golf. Nobody has played better than

:08:37. > :08:48.Danny Willett today. A mature man, Lee Westwood. Faithful caddy.

:08:49. > :09:11.All this just moments ago. Five birdies, no bogeys. Three birdies on

:09:12. > :09:22.the last six holes. It's certainly not over.

:09:23. > :09:29.Where ever you are watching at home, I hope you're enjoying. It certainly

:09:30. > :09:33.isn't over, we said that a few times.

:09:34. > :09:39.Strange things can happen, but the favourite has to be this man,

:09:40. > :09:46.Willett, now he's in. Spieth has to get three birdies to win, two

:09:47. > :10:01.birdies to force a play-off. Still anxious moments for the young fella.

:10:02. > :10:08.Smylie Kaufman has found a very awkward spot he is going to have to

:10:09. > :10:16.find the slope behind the flag at 16. Oh dear.

:10:17. > :10:22.Up to the 18th, Dustin Johnson's second shot. He was in with a chance

:10:23. > :10:46.but just fell. This is a crowd pleaser. Yes, it is.

:10:47. > :11:03.How did they do that? Too much spin on it. Almost like a trick shot.

:11:04. > :11:12.It's a bit like the Colosseum down here. The crowds just echo from this

:11:13. > :11:17.area at the 16th, fabulous atmosphere. It's more intimidating.

:11:18. > :11:23.Players are more sophisticated now than in my day but I came here and

:11:24. > :11:27.it totally intimidated me. After completing the 15th it seemed to be

:11:28. > :11:49.above you looking down, you feel like a little ant.

:11:50. > :11:59.Some anxious faces. They've got plenty to be anxious about if they

:12:00. > :12:05.are supporting their man. They've seen him have a golfing disaster at

:12:06. > :12:09.12, now he has a putt... Not all that long but it's one of those

:12:10. > :12:15.wiggly ones. You think it comes a lot from the left, but it's a funny

:12:16. > :12:20.line. It's a lot easier from 4-5 feet short than 4-5 feet past. So

:12:21. > :12:25.much depends on pace, quite a big swing and it'll drop in. He's only

:12:26. > :12:31.about nine feet most. Maybe eight feet. He's been the governor with

:12:32. > :12:35.the blade all week. There'll be a hell of a cheer if this goes in,

:12:36. > :12:40.I'll tell you that. Danny Willett back up at the clubhouse. You're

:12:41. > :12:45.right. This is a tricky one to pick the line, speed is so important down

:12:46. > :12:57.the left-hand side. A whisker too hard and it'll miss on the left.

:12:58. > :13:08.Yeah, that was a bit of a nervy one in all truth. Goodness gracious.

:13:09. > :13:12.Let's hear from the potential winner, Danny Willett. Walking off

:13:13. > :13:18.the 18th what was going through your mind? I honestly can't tell you.

:13:19. > :13:24.Happiness, exhilaration, everything. It was nice, obviously, to seek my

:13:25. > :13:27.father-in-law just off the green. Walking up there with everyone

:13:28. > :13:30.cheering your name, no better feeling. How difficult was it to

:13:31. > :13:34.control the emotions when you realised you were in the lead? Yeah,

:13:35. > :13:39.it's a tricky one, not like we slowly crept into the lead, we got

:13:40. > :13:47.to four, through 14, then parred 15. Then he chucked a number in at 12.

:13:48. > :13:52.Bit of a weird one. Normally you are toing and froing. He dropped four

:13:53. > :13:56.shots on one hole. You can't really understand it. Unless you are in

:13:57. > :14:01.that position. Luckily enough I was able to then keep my head on and

:14:02. > :14:07.keep focused and go ahead and make a great swing at 16. We're watching

:14:08. > :14:12.pictures on 16 as Jordan is about to putt for his par that he's made.

:14:13. > :14:15.What are you thinking right now? Is it possible to even contemplate you

:14:16. > :14:22.might be wearing the green jacket? No, there are still two holes left,

:14:23. > :14:26.the boy can do most things. We're going to have to wait. Hopefully,

:14:27. > :14:29.wait and see, see what we can do. Do you believe in fate considering

:14:30. > :14:34.recently there was talk you might not even be here. Then young

:14:35. > :14:39.Zachariah came at the right time. It's a strange one, my wife was born

:14:40. > :14:43.on this Day 28 years ago, the little man's due date was today. You never

:14:44. > :14:48.know. Keeping our fingers crossed for you. The good news for Danny

:14:49. > :14:52.Willett is there have only been two birdies on the 17th. There's been 14

:14:53. > :14:56.birdies on the 18th. He is unlikely to birdie them both,

:14:57. > :15:24.but you can never tell. Dustin. On the 18th for a birdie. He

:15:25. > :15:37.is... Oh. You have to say, in many ways, a good week. But disappointing

:15:38. > :15:44.for Dustin Johnson. In contrast, in 2015 there were 108 rounds under par

:15:45. > :15:49.for the tournament. This 139. From 108 to 39 under par. It's been a

:15:50. > :15:57.tough old week. We join the world number one Jason Day. The number

:15:58. > :16:02.will have been thinking, it could have been my week. Jason was

:16:03. > :16:05.certainly one of them. The conditions of the Green have been

:16:06. > :16:11.beautiful but they've been lightning fast. And the wind. And where the

:16:12. > :16:19.flags are positioned. If like asking someone to climb Everest in

:16:20. > :16:29.plimsolls with a packet of savages. -- sandwiches. Jason Day, 1-over,

:16:30. > :16:35.currently tied for 10th. Spieth, 17th tee. Not his favourite hole.

:16:36. > :16:51.It's looks a good one. -- it looks a good one. At last he

:16:52. > :16:58.found the fairway off the tee. He's been a bit crooked at times.

:16:59. > :17:03.You wouldn't rule anything past Jordan Spieth but let's just reflect

:17:04. > :17:08.on some of the brilliant Danny Willett has shown today and around

:17:09. > :17:15.67. Flawless, no bogeys at all. It all started with birdie at six, it

:17:16. > :17:18.took him 1-under for the day. Right from the start isn't there was an

:17:19. > :17:23.error of calm and composure about his round. Britton you sensed there

:17:24. > :17:29.was. He was comfortable with his position. He was trying to do the

:17:30. > :17:32.best he could do, really. I don't know if at any point on the first

:17:33. > :17:37.nine holes he thought he was going to win the golf tournament.

:17:38. > :17:42.Certainly, you was in a terrific position starting the second nine,

:17:43. > :17:47.then four birdies in a row created quite a gap there. This was at the

:17:48. > :17:52.14th, his second shot in there. He would putt this one and then,

:17:53. > :17:56.suddenly, all of it started to turn around because by the time he was

:17:57. > :18:02.getting to the 15th Jordan Spieth was at 12. It was going pear shaped

:18:03. > :18:09.for him. Meanwhile, Willett was grasping the metal in fantastic

:18:10. > :18:13.style. Beautiful tee shot. He would birdie this one. This was

:18:14. > :18:17.impressive, at this point he knew where he stood, as Lee Westwood did.

:18:18. > :18:23.Westwood hit a poor shot and three putted here. Similar to deterrent

:18:24. > :18:27.hole. Danny Willett knew where he stood and holed this putt with all

:18:28. > :18:32.the pressure on him. We discussed before the round started that if

:18:33. > :18:39.Jordan stumbled the players had to be ready. Danny Willett was very

:18:40. > :18:46.much ready. This was extraordinary difficult. Up the hill, backed down

:18:47. > :18:52.the hill. Towards Rae's Creek. Two bit it in there, it was quite an

:18:53. > :18:57.effort. Par there and two shot lead coming down the 18th. This is the

:18:58. > :19:00.second of the 18th. Again, if he was feeling nervous, it really hasn't

:19:01. > :19:06.shown at all. He's been completely in charge of himself. This shotgun

:19:07. > :19:11.he squished that, had a beautiful little draw on it, then got rewarded

:19:12. > :19:16.with a big kick to the left. Not the best putt from their but that's OK.

:19:17. > :19:19.As he tapped this one in and he still looks like he could be the

:19:20. > :19:25.winner. Jordan Spieth would have to have America finish. Who knew he was

:19:26. > :19:30.wearing a different shade of green under the white top, all day long,

:19:31. > :19:33.perhaps he knew something we didn't. I'm not jumping the gun here because

:19:34. > :19:40.Jordan Spieth can still make it difficult for Danny Willett. But

:19:41. > :19:45.it's been a wonderful display from Danny Willett. The world and 12,

:19:46. > :19:50.he's moved into the elite status, won his fourth European Tour event.

:19:51. > :20:00.That was three wins in 26 events. Just in February there. He has begun

:20:01. > :20:05.to creep up the world rankings. 89, he was the 89th and last player to

:20:06. > :20:10.register here this week at Augusta National. He's saving the best for

:20:11. > :20:17.last today. All he can do now is wait. That's the hardest part. The

:20:18. > :20:20.man he was playing with today, Lee Westwood, let's get his thoughts on

:20:21. > :20:25.what could be another near miss. What around he put together, too.

:20:26. > :20:30.Some wonderful moments today, we sort your reaction on 15 when you

:20:31. > :20:34.made eagle, what were you thinking at that moment? I don't often chip

:20:35. > :20:39.in, so it came as a surprise to me. A good place to chip in from. We won

:20:40. > :20:43.a bit of glass for an eagle, it was all positive. Windy day notice what

:20:44. > :20:47.was happening at the top of the leaderboard? I heard noise and

:20:48. > :20:52.figured there was something going on. When Jordan went from five to

:20:53. > :20:55.one. All of a sudden I was one behind Danny. Danny got the bit

:20:56. > :21:00.between his teeth. What was it like playing alongside him today? It was

:21:01. > :21:05.good, we played a lot together, he's a good player. He played really well

:21:06. > :21:10.today, quality shots, kept it under the hole, aggressive when he needed

:21:11. > :21:12.to be, made some nice putts. The sixth time you've finished inside

:21:13. > :21:17.the top ten in the Masters, how proud are you of your record? Very

:21:18. > :21:20.proud, it's a place I've always loved to come, I like being here

:21:21. > :21:25.even when the tournament isn't on. Even when I haven't got my A game, I

:21:26. > :21:28.feel I can get it around. I didn't have anything near my A game this

:21:29. > :21:32.week but there is a way of getting around Augusta and edging your way

:21:33. > :21:36.into the tournament. Conditions were right for me this week, with a bit

:21:37. > :21:40.of wind, it would stop anybody getting a long way away from me. I

:21:41. > :21:44.tried to play sensibly and take my chances when they presented

:21:45. > :21:48.themselves. Well done today. 11 times he's been in the top five of

:21:49. > :21:54.the major Championships and hasn't come up with the goodies so far.

:21:55. > :22:05.Spieth. 162 yards, swirling breeze. Has he got it? Not even close to

:22:06. > :22:08.getting there, bailed on it. He must be in the bunker, coming from that

:22:09. > :22:14.height with the breeze into it, it might plug.

:22:15. > :22:45.Matsuyama. Big tee shot. Watch how the ball takes off, go straight up

:22:46. > :22:46.in the air. It it on the slope behind the pin and it comes running

:22:47. > :23:12.back. Buhl he's played a few of those. He

:23:13. > :23:20.doubted and shoved it out to the right. He's a good player, not very

:23:21. > :23:23.old. Good potential. Yeah, he's a very talented player, strikes the

:23:24. > :23:31.ball beautifully. A little bit quicker today, I thought. Everyone

:23:32. > :23:37.got a bit edgy. Apart from this fella. Paul Casey played well. The

:23:38. > :23:47.whole European contingent played some very good golf. I wonder what

:23:48. > :23:52.sort of lie he has found. Can we see his ball here? We will be in a

:23:53. > :23:57.minute. It went in, it was very high. I don't think it's plugged.

:23:58. > :23:59.Doesn't look like a man with a plugged ball. No, there it is, lying

:24:00. > :24:15.nicely. It's midnight at home, don't wake

:24:16. > :24:22.granny, she'll be in bed now. Get her up! She'll want to know.

:24:23. > :24:42.Hello. Is it working? Danny... We've got a phone here.

:24:43. > :24:49.Smylie Kaufman always... If it gets away from you here, this course

:24:50. > :24:56.could make you look an absolute fool. He nearly played very well the

:24:57. > :25:00.first six holes, he was just a bit unlucky. This was a shot where

:25:01. > :25:07.normally... He's a little bit further back than I thought, but...

:25:08. > :25:15.We've seen these holed. Do you want me to call you not? It's going to

:25:16. > :25:27.come out a bit flat and a bit hot. The only way he will stop his

:25:28. > :25:32.clattering the flag. Tried to play it correctly. If it started way

:25:33. > :25:39.left... It's all right for distance. I think victory's getting closer

:25:40. > :25:45.every shot. There is the bride. Magic Lantern is now, aren't they?

:25:46. > :25:54.They really are. The things you can do with a phone. -- Magic Lanterns

:25:55. > :25:59.now. If he pops this one in, he has to hole his second shot at the last

:26:00. > :26:10.two tie. The odds are hugely in Danny's favour.

:26:11. > :26:15.They set the last pair of five minute earlier and they are still

:26:16. > :26:21.going to run over by a considerable amount. I really don't understand

:26:22. > :26:25.the club's philosophy in running the risk of overrunning or not being

:26:26. > :26:31.able to complete and having to come back tomorrow morning. Nobody wants

:26:32. > :26:33.that. But that's another story. Matsuyama, little chip from the side

:26:34. > :26:46.of the green. Steady. Don't think I've ever seen faster

:26:47. > :26:49.greens, Kent, have you? I was out there this morning, they are so

:26:50. > :26:52.fast, don't think I've ever seen them faster. They were quite firm

:26:53. > :26:57.early on. Normally they are a bit green and parched. We've had no wind

:26:58. > :27:02.so they are manageable, but they are tricky. We've got courses at home

:27:03. > :27:06.where we think the greens are fast, and indeed they are, but these, with

:27:07. > :27:10.the slope, the combination of the slope as well, and the size of the

:27:11. > :27:24.greens, makes them very, very difficult. Spieth. Can he hole this?

:27:25. > :27:28.If he doesn't, really, Danny is the champ. He's not going to make a

:27:29. > :27:34.hole-in-one. This is to keep him with any chance at all.

:27:35. > :27:53.Hi, Nicole! Come on. Spieth. What other nine holes for him. -- what a

:27:54. > :28:03.Knight holes. That's five. Good tee shot.

:28:04. > :28:17.There'll be some carousing tonight. Chubby. Fancy being hugged by

:28:18. > :28:23.Chubby, frightening thought, isn't it? He's a lovely fella, really.

:28:24. > :28:33.He's finally buttoned up the green jacket. $1.8 million and about $50

:28:34. > :28:40.million lurking, to be picked up, over the next 5-10 years. We are all

:28:41. > :28:47.right now, aren't we? Chubby has made a few quid. Caddy has made a

:28:48. > :28:56.lot of quid. Everybody's happy. The green jacket.

:28:57. > :29:09.That's splendid. It's good to see Joy. Joy of unbounded. -- Joy

:29:10. > :29:13.unbounded. If you grow up watching golf on the BBC and thought, one day

:29:14. > :29:17.I'd like to play there, like to be a professional golfer, like to do

:29:18. > :29:20.this... I don't suppose he ever thought in his heart of hearts it

:29:21. > :29:25.was necessarily going to win the green jacket, but he's got one.

:29:26. > :29:36.Here's Spieth. This has got to go in. Tricky shot.

:29:37. > :29:52.Steady, steady, steady. He is OK. What an extraordinary couple of

:29:53. > :30:00.hours. Can't really believe it. Finishing on the 18th with a four.

:30:01. > :30:10.He has had a good tournament, Matsuyama. 34 home. 73. Playing with

:30:11. > :30:23.Bernhard Langer, too big a course for him. 5-over. He has given the

:30:24. > :30:30.crowd, we older fellows, something to cheer about. His legs weren't

:30:31. > :30:40.quite strong enough to carry his heart around.

:30:41. > :30:54.Nice round of applause. This man is the champion, Danny Willett is the

:30:55. > :31:00.Masters champion. He knew as soon as Jordan Spieth missed, the green

:31:01. > :31:17.jacket was his. An Englishman, well done, well done!

:31:18. > :31:26.Here it is. He didn't know it was the winning moment at the time, but

:31:27. > :31:34.it was. The crowd applaud the champion this year. Thoughts from

:31:35. > :31:44.Lee Westwood. Billy Foster, been out a long time, seen play well. That is

:31:45. > :31:47.it. It will stay in the memory for a long while, well done, Danny. Well

:31:48. > :32:02.done, indeed. That was an extraordinary four days.

:32:03. > :32:09.For three days, nobody was particularly happy, the weather was

:32:10. > :32:14.against them. But the last two and a half hours, worth twice the price of

:32:15. > :32:19.the admission. Danny Willett is, the winner. What a thing to have a

:32:20. > :32:22.Yorkshireman putting on the green jacket. Absolutely fabulous.

:32:23. > :32:38.Champion of the world. Will it be Danny's jacket? You bet

:32:39. > :32:47.it will. He becomes the 50th different player to win the Masters.

:32:48. > :32:50.He wins the tournament as a new dad. And his wife celebrates her birthday

:32:51. > :32:56.today. Can you imagine the celebrations for the family. A

:32:57. > :33:01.wonderful winter for Danny Willett. Jordan Spieth is the man who will be

:33:02. > :33:06.presenting the green jacket to Danny. His charmed existence here

:33:07. > :33:15.for the last couple of days is over. But Jordan has to play out this 18th

:33:16. > :33:21.hole. It all turned around for him on the corner, as it has done for so

:33:22. > :33:32.many players. This is his second to the 18th. It is good dredging -- gut

:33:33. > :33:38.wrenching to see a player lose like that. But it will change Danny's

:33:39. > :33:50.life for ever. The final scenes, Jordan Spieth playing the green. He

:33:51. > :33:56.plays a beauty. Ten, 11, 12 will be etched on his memory for evermore.

:33:57. > :34:03.17 strokes for three holes. Killed him. All week he was slightly

:34:04. > :34:17.battling his game. It was fun stuff stick how he was making those saving

:34:18. > :34:24.putts. First nine holes, he was OK, five shots clear. Then it all went

:34:25. > :34:26.pear shaped. What things will you think about? Alone with your

:34:27. > :34:41.thoughts. It is like dominoes. You can get

:34:42. > :34:46.them all standing up at the same time and then want toppled over and

:34:47. > :34:58.knocks another one, then that knocks another one. It can be brutal at

:34:59. > :35:11.times. Coffman, 6-over. -- Kaufman. Nice shot. Generous, but muted

:35:12. > :35:18.sympathy applause. Sympathetic applause for the young man. Only

:35:19. > :35:40.just in his early 20s. This could take a long time,

:35:41. > :35:47.mentally, to recover from. You never know.

:35:48. > :36:25.They are giving him plenty of encouragement.

:36:26. > :36:34.Currently tied for second with Lee Westwood at 2-under par. Big prize

:36:35. > :36:42.money around. Second is just over $1 million. Third will be $80,000. This

:36:43. > :36:53.will be a good putt to put in cash prize. If it takes two, what will he

:36:54. > :37:11.do? If he won putts his second on his own? Remember those, Peter? Cut

:37:12. > :37:16.me to the quick. He never got his driver right. He cracked the face of

:37:17. > :37:20.his driver, which sometimes happens and then you have two search for

:37:21. > :37:25.another head. His driving wasn't on song. Rory McIlroy, had a

:37:26. > :37:41.tremendously mixed bag of tricks this week. Good, bad, indifferent.

:37:42. > :37:56.Extraordinary how it goes. Kaufman for a par. He hasn't got it!

:37:57. > :38:01.Learning curve. We all said that when somebody hasn't done as well as

:38:02. > :38:09.they hoped, and you are young. You learn from your mistakes. He is very

:38:10. > :38:19.promising, round in 39. Four drop shots.

:38:20. > :38:30.Tied for 29th in the end. The thing is with golf, you have time to think

:38:31. > :38:41.and that is a killer. You have got to control your imagination. Danny

:38:42. > :38:56.Willett, the winner. Finished second in his first year, second last year,

:38:57. > :39:01.second again and not bad. Steady! I think he is in his own world now. He

:39:02. > :39:06.has got to pull himself together, face the music, face the green

:39:07. > :39:18.jacket. But the jacket on Danny Willett. Smile and say, well done to

:39:19. > :39:21.you. He is certainly a class act. Everything he has done since he

:39:22. > :39:33.turned professional has been very classy. Quite remarkable. He has got

:39:34. > :39:37.to learn to play a little bit quicker. Otherwise, if they ever do

:39:38. > :39:40.anything about slow play, there is two or three of them who really have

:39:41. > :40:03.to get on with it a bit. That is it. When you come to the end

:40:04. > :40:10.of the not a perfect day, you walk through the crowd, sign the card.

:40:11. > :40:13.Sorry about that, Governor. Yes, me too! Hopefully there will be other

:40:14. > :40:43.days. Came right out of the blue, didn't

:40:44. > :40:47.it? Crushing seven at the par-3 and that was it. Jyoti unbound. Well

:40:48. > :41:07.done. -- joy. Second appearance here, 28 years of

:41:08. > :41:14.age. Made his mark this week in the global game of golf. Quite a better

:41:15. > :41:22.into the 21, 22-year-olds. -- veteran.

:41:23. > :41:52.Get his card right. Into the cabin to give Danny his green jacket.

:41:53. > :41:58.Well, selfie as the Masters champion. Wearing green but there

:41:59. > :42:05.will be another shade to go onto those shoulders. Danny Willett has

:42:06. > :42:08.become the fourth richest player to wear the green jacket, or be

:42:09. > :42:14.presented with the green jacket. There is confirmation of the three

:42:15. > :42:21.shot victory. The 28 are all from Yorkshire. Lee Westwood, another

:42:22. > :42:29.runner-up, finished third in Majors. That he gave it a good go today, Lee

:42:30. > :42:36.Westwood. Jordan Spieth, the spell is broken for Jordan. Paul Casey, 67

:42:37. > :42:43.as well. Matthew Fitzpatrick and Justin Rose, all of these English

:42:44. > :42:46.players in the top ten. Nick, Ian Woosnam and now Danny who are the

:42:47. > :42:54.British Masters champions. He has done it. What a way to

:42:55. > :43:11.finish. Yes, yes! What a man. What a man.

:43:12. > :44:04.Terrific stuff. So Nick's third green jacket.

:44:05. > :44:15.Fittingly, it was a 67 Nick shot all that time ago to beat Greg Norman. A

:44:16. > :44:18.flawless round of 67. You said at the beginning, when Jordan Spieth

:44:19. > :44:24.faltered, somebody had to be ready and this young man was ready? He

:44:25. > :44:29.was, you have to be ready to figure out when you have the lead. The

:44:30. > :44:33.pressure was all on Jordan Spieth. The guys chasing had to know that if

:44:34. > :44:38.he stumbled, they had to be ready mentally. He was. Lee Westwood

:44:39. > :44:45.wasn't quite ready, he let it get away and 16. The Danny Willett

:44:46. > :44:51.didn't. Tremendous birdie. One man's heartache gives way to another man's

:44:52. > :44:58.joy. Golf is a cruel game. Champions willingly putting themselves out

:44:59. > :45:03.there to be exposed for millions to see them fail. I can tell you,

:45:04. > :45:08.first-hand, it is an amazing feeling. Good for him. To win at the

:45:09. > :45:17.Masters you have to be a complete player. That is when he found out he

:45:18. > :45:27.had won. He was on the phone to back home. When Nick won the those green

:45:28. > :45:35.jackets, Danny was 80 years old. -- eight years old. The champagne has

:45:36. > :45:41.been nice from a British point of view for two decades. Has been a

:45:42. > :45:46.very long wait. When you think about the period of dominations, 11

:45:47. > :45:49.European wins in 20 years, Paul, it does seem remarkable we have had

:45:50. > :45:56.such a long time to wait. But there is confirmation. Danny Willett,

:45:57. > :46:03.5-under. At the man who was leading for such a long time, Jordan Spieth,

:46:04. > :46:07.finishes three shots behind. You just wonder from Jordan Spieth's

:46:08. > :46:13.point of view, how he will reflect on that. We haven't seen him falter

:46:14. > :46:19.and show such frailty in a major context in his fledgling career. He

:46:20. > :46:23.is young. It seems like he treats all his experiences, even his

:46:24. > :46:28.negative ones, like learning experiences. He will be all right,

:46:29. > :46:35.he will be playing the Masters for 30 or 40 more years, but it is a gut

:46:36. > :46:40.wrenching thing for Jordan Spieth, he will lose a lot of sleep. It will

:46:41. > :46:44.stay with him all his life. Greg Norman and Arnold Palmer had

:46:45. > :46:50.crushing defeats. But somebody has got to grab the bit. While Jordan

:46:51. > :46:57.spit the bit, it was hard to watch, but Danny Willett 's stepped-up when

:46:58. > :47:04.he had two and he is the man right now. I note Jordan Spieth, clearly

:47:05. > :47:07.upset, as one would be, but I think American television has been

:47:08. > :47:11.chatting to Jordan Spieth. He has had an amazing ability to process

:47:12. > :47:15.the information and some of the events he has gone through and

:47:16. > :47:19.rationalise them. That has always been a facet of his play.

:47:20. > :47:27.Considering his tender years, 22 years of age. He is a great guy,

:47:28. > :47:33.he's very analytical and he is, who you think he is. I am happy for

:47:34. > :47:38.Danny Willett. These are huge moment in a player's career. Any time you

:47:39. > :47:43.play well at Augusta, it carries on for a long time. This guy is the

:47:44. > :47:50.limit now for Danny Willett. Let's hear from Jordan Spieth.

:47:51. > :47:53.Jordan, we can only imagine how disappointed you are. Strong opening

:47:54. > :48:00.nine and then you made the turn and the wheels seemed to come off? Yes,

:48:01. > :48:03.it is tough, really tough. Talk about the 12th and what you are

:48:04. > :48:10.going through mentally when you were trying to play that hole? That ball

:48:11. > :48:15.flight has come up a bit for me on par threes this week. I am not

:48:16. > :48:19.getting around my body and. But a bad swing on it at the wrong time.

:48:20. > :48:25.Should have gone into the drop so where we knew the yardage. It was

:48:26. > :48:31.hard for me to commit over by the 13th hole. Just compound of mistakes

:48:32. > :48:35.and a lack of discipline. Hit it over the bunker coming off two

:48:36. > :48:40.bogeys instead of realising I was still leading the Masters by a

:48:41. > :48:44.couple of shots. If you could have put a couple of birdies together on

:48:45. > :48:50.the second nine? Four birdies in a row to end the front nine, I knew

:48:51. > :48:54.par was good by even a shot. Sometimes it makes it hard. To go

:48:55. > :48:58.away from the game plan I was using on the front nine. You play a bit

:48:59. > :49:05.conservative and I put some weak swings on it and three health in a

:49:06. > :49:12.row, and I'm not leading any more. Your record here, a win and two

:49:13. > :49:18.runner-up finishes, you will be disappointed? Pretty sure I am

:49:19. > :49:23.disappointed. We still have the confidence, we are closing team and

:49:24. > :49:30.we can close. I have no doubt about that ability. I just think it was a

:49:31. > :49:33.very tough 30 minutes for me, that hopefully I will never experience

:49:34. > :49:39.again. Jordan, thank you very much. A real

:49:40. > :49:43.man to come out and face bill like that and rationalise. What do you

:49:44. > :49:49.think will be the greatest lesson he will take away from here this week?

:49:50. > :49:55.He has got to fix whatever was going on, make sure it doesn't happen

:49:56. > :49:59.again. He led the week in putting, brilliant around the greens. His

:50:00. > :50:03.driver caved in and maybe that caused him to change his swing

:50:04. > :50:07.slightly, but it looked like he was aiming a little bit to the right. A

:50:08. > :50:15.couple of the shots he got under got away from him. Balls should never

:50:16. > :50:23.start to the right of the bunker on 12. Great players see the line on

:50:24. > :50:28.full shots and putts. Here it is again. Straight up in the air. He

:50:29. > :50:34.knew right away, the crowd knew right away. It was a disaster on 12.

:50:35. > :50:38.I said before he hit the shot, it would be the most nervous tee shot

:50:39. > :50:44.in the game of golf with a 1-shot lead. Only to be trumped by this one

:50:45. > :50:51.to be more nervy and difficult. What was so shocking, he had the run of

:50:52. > :50:57.four birdies in a row and holding a five shot lead. You thought, this

:50:58. > :51:02.relentless march to a second Masters title in a row, and history seemed

:51:03. > :51:09.almost inevitable? It is a long week, when you are out difference,

:51:10. > :51:16.Augusta is a nervous place. The wind made it more nervous. It takes a lot

:51:17. > :51:20.out of you. I don't know how he eats when he is nervous. I didn't eat

:51:21. > :51:27.well when I am nervous. It is fatigue, it can sink in, lack of

:51:28. > :51:31.discipline. He had his coach fly in this morning to try to fix what was

:51:32. > :51:36.going wrong. I am hard broken for him. Now it is time to focus on

:51:37. > :51:40.Danny Willett and what a huge life changing experience this will be for

:51:41. > :51:49.him. He will never be the same, he will always be a Masters champion.

:51:50. > :51:59.Darren Clarke, the great man who predicted he will be the future of

:52:00. > :52:01.European golf. He is just about to receive his prize, Danny boy, the

:52:02. > :52:17.green jacket is calling. Having to be search a tough quest to

:52:18. > :52:26.finally win, it feels better. Finally made a bunch of putts. It

:52:27. > :52:30.was fun. This was pretty close. It is the most nerve wracking golf

:52:31. > :52:36.course in the world. I can't tell you how fortunate I am to win this

:52:37. > :52:40.tournament. I am probably as happy as I have ever been in my life. To

:52:41. > :52:46.win this tournament is an amazing feeling. I have never got this far

:52:47. > :52:53.in my dreams. It is a dream come true. Final preparations are being

:52:54. > :53:02.made right now in the bottler cabin. It is all yours, Jim.

:53:03. > :53:08.Wonderful job. Thank you. We will soon repeat the long-standing

:53:09. > :53:13.tradition of the award of the Masters green jacket. I would like

:53:14. > :53:15.to take this opportunity to thank our television viewers across

:53:16. > :53:22.America, in over 200 countries around the world, for your long-term

:53:23. > :53:26.and loyal support of the Masters. I now welcome three special gentlemen,

:53:27. > :53:32.this year's amateur, Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson, congratulations.

:53:33. > :53:40.Last year's champion, Mr Jordan Spieth. Jordan, good to see you. And

:53:41. > :53:44.this year's champion, the 2016 champion, Danny Willett.

:53:45. > :53:53.Congratulations. Delighted to see you. Please have a seat, I know Jim

:53:54. > :53:57.has a few questions. I begin with Bryson, your preparation for this

:53:58. > :54:00.tournament, the emphasis you put up playing at Augusta, trying to

:54:01. > :54:07.content all the win as an amateur, how do you put that into words? It

:54:08. > :54:11.is an honour to be able to be the low amateur, never in a million

:54:12. > :54:17.years did I think that what happened. It is quite an honour and

:54:18. > :54:20.I worked hard to get to this point. Congratulations to you, Danny. Fun

:54:21. > :54:27.to watch a play out there. Good job. What is next to you, Bryson. I

:54:28. > :54:34.turned professional. I look forward to making a cheque next week. Good

:54:35. > :54:39.luck, congratulations. Tied for 21st. Danny, you had a while to let

:54:40. > :54:47.it sink in, I am not sure it has. You have been on your phone, with

:54:48. > :54:53.your wife, you are a new dad, a new major minted champion, life is

:54:54. > :54:57.pretty sweet? It has been crazy, you cannot describe your emotions and

:54:58. > :55:02.feelings. We have all got to try and play good golf and somebody has got

:55:03. > :55:07.to win the tournament. Fortunately today, it was my day. What was it

:55:08. > :55:12.like out there today trying to chase Jordan on the second nine? It was

:55:13. > :55:18.tough, every time we made ground, Jordan kept pulling ahead. We try to

:55:19. > :55:22.make birdies, after birdies. I thought we had to get to six or

:55:23. > :55:25.seven, then we would look up the leaderboard and he was already at

:55:26. > :55:31.seven. It was very surreal when you look back at the ebb and flow. We

:55:32. > :55:36.were fortunate the shots we had were correct. Who was your inspiration,

:55:37. > :55:44.only the second Englishman to win the green jacket. It is crazy, my

:55:45. > :55:49.wife was Bjorn, in about ten minutes time, 28 years ago. So it is her

:55:50. > :55:54.birthday. My son was due today, but he came 12 days early to let me come

:55:55. > :55:59.and play. You talk about fate and everything else that goes with it,

:56:00. > :56:03.it has been a crazy week. You did know for months that April ten was

:56:04. > :56:10.the due date, you just didn't know what. Now it is time for the green

:56:11. > :56:17.jacket. Jordan, will you do the honour, presents our new champion

:56:18. > :56:23.with his jacket. Danny, congratulations, we are very proud

:56:24. > :56:32.of you. Welcome to our family. Thank you. It fits like a glove. Brilliant

:56:33. > :56:35.moments for Danny Willett and his family, for British and European

:56:36. > :56:40.golf after a dramatic, fascinating and wonderful final day here in the

:56:41. > :56:48.80th playing up the Masters. Danny Willett is the 50th different winner

:56:49. > :56:53.of the Masters. This was the moment when he realised he had done it.

:56:54. > :57:00.Jordan Spieth had faltered and he realised at the green jacket was all

:57:01. > :57:04.his. And will for ever be his. He will always have a place here at

:57:05. > :57:08.Augusta. That is one of the wonderful traditions. He will always

:57:09. > :57:15.be able to come back and play here well into his old age, if he chooses

:57:16. > :57:20.to. He has many more years and many more major titles to win. Danny

:57:21. > :57:25.Willett, his first major title at the age of 28. He was very much up

:57:26. > :57:30.there at St Andrews at the halfway mark in a tied sixth finish at the

:57:31. > :57:36.Open Championship. He has followed it up here with his first ever

:57:37. > :57:39.Masters win. You are a major champion, how does his life change

:57:40. > :57:45.when you achieve one of the greatest prizes? Everybody will recognise

:57:46. > :57:49.you, that is the first thing and the dollars will start coming in. He

:57:50. > :57:54.will have a lot of the man is on his life, you have to mind his schedule

:57:55. > :57:59.to be able to play well. It is a Ryder Cup year, a lot going on in

:58:00. > :58:06.Danny Willett's life, he is unaware of. The wheels will be spinning for

:58:07. > :58:09.his agents and golf is an unbelievable game. It can rip your

:58:10. > :58:16.heart out, but it can give you great joy. While one man's heart is being

:58:17. > :58:23.ripped out, and the man's heart is full of joy. That is Danny Willett.

:58:24. > :58:30.I feel sorry the Jordan Spieth, but Danny Willett deserves it. You don't

:58:31. > :58:36.win an Augusta National unless you can do it all. There is joy shining

:58:37. > :58:41.out of those eyes, but there was believed shining out of those eyes

:58:42. > :58:46.all day and he was ready to pounce. He pounced on 16. It was obvious the

:58:47. > :58:51.board had shifted and he was two shots clear. He put the 8-iron in.

:58:52. > :59:00.He used his adrenaline to his advantage, blasted the beautiful

:59:01. > :59:05.shots, then made the putt. At the terrific second shot on 18. All the

:59:06. > :59:11.shots coming in from a point, I missed how he got over the green on

:59:12. > :59:17.17, but two shots on 18 were fabulous. He is hoping everyone.

:59:18. > :59:22.Hopefully we will be seeing him soon. But the Nao, thank you very

:59:23. > :59:27.much for being with us. It has been a joy. We have had an awful wait,

:59:28. > :59:31.British golf, European golf and it has been worth it. Danny Willett,

:59:32. > :59:37.after the trials tribulations of Jordan Spieth, it has been a

:59:38. > :59:42.tumultuous final day, both for Jordan and Danny Willett. His life

:59:43. > :59:43.is about to change, but the wait is over. Danny Willett is the master.

:59:44. > :00:10.At night. -- good night. # Signed, sealed,

:00:11. > :00:33.delivered, I'm yours. # Signed, sealed,

:00:34. > :00:42.delivered, I'm yours. # Signed, sealed,

:00:43. > :00:45.delivered, I'm yours.
