:00:11. > :00:52.This is it. This reminds me of the BBC music you get.

:00:53. > :01:09.What a way to finish. There it is! Can you believe it?

:01:10. > :01:24.A victory for the ages. In your life have you ever seen anything like

:01:25. > :01:29.that? At long last! Bubba Watson is wearing the green jacket. A life

:01:30. > :01:33.changer. One of the epic performances. Danny Willett is the

:01:34. > :01:49.Masters champion. Joy unbounded. Good evening from Augusta National

:01:50. > :01:52.in Georgia, we waited 20 years for another British winner of the green

:01:53. > :01:55.jacket at the Masters tournament, and last year Danny Willett at

:01:56. > :02:00.Bligh, he slipped on the coveted jacket. The trend and taste for the

:02:01. > :02:04.spokes tailoring continues amongst his fellow countrymen, because

:02:05. > :02:09.Justin Rose 's co-leader into this final round, he shares the lead with

:02:10. > :02:16.the much loved Spaniard Sergio Garcia. For so long golf's nearly

:02:17. > :02:21.man. There are no guarantees on Masters Sunday, anything can happen,

:02:22. > :03:37.and it usually does. Who is in it to win it tonight?

:03:38. > :03:44.This was the picture heading into the final 18 holes. Justin Rose

:03:45. > :03:49.aiming to add to his major collection, Sergio Garcia aiming to

:03:50. > :03:57.start his. Rickie Fowler has performed better than anyone here

:03:58. > :04:02.this week on the greens. Looking at 4-under, Jordan Spieth, the Masters

:04:03. > :04:05.machine. He has either finished first or second every time he has

:04:06. > :04:12.come here, this is the first time he has had to chase the lead on the

:04:13. > :04:14.final day. 16 players are within six shots, including Adam Scott and

:04:15. > :04:22.Charl Schwartzel, both former winners.

:04:23. > :04:31.The players on even with half to have the round of their lives today.

:04:32. > :04:35.We are five hours behind you. If you would like to head straight out to

:04:36. > :04:43.the course, there are options to see action around on the red button or

:04:44. > :04:49.via the website. Full coverage from our American host begins in half an

:04:50. > :04:55.hour, just after 7pm. But this is shaping up as a classic Masters

:04:56. > :05:02.Sunday. On the scale of one to ten, how excited are you? It has got to

:05:03. > :05:06.be a temp, it has been set up, the conditions are perfect, a bit of a

:05:07. > :05:13.breeze, it is all there of a Sunday. How do you like the leaderboard? It

:05:14. > :05:15.looks like a Ryder Cup. I imagine Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose

:05:16. > :05:20.against Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth. It is about who wanted the

:05:21. > :05:25.most. Controlling the controllable is. There is nobody that is afraid

:05:26. > :05:31.of anybody else, everybody knows everybody quite well. It is like a

:05:32. > :05:38.pack of lions almost. They all get along until the food shows up, then

:05:39. > :05:44.it is a fight. Somebody will end up feeling it at some point, their body

:05:45. > :05:47.will relax and they will feel it. Nerves will not be a big factor

:05:48. > :05:58.until the end of the day, because they are so comfortable with each

:05:59. > :06:02.other. They will be playing against themselves to begin with, then they

:06:03. > :06:06.play against the course. The holes are cut in places on the second

:06:07. > :06:12.nine, you can see balls feeding in, and it should be exciting. Let the

:06:13. > :06:18.fireworks begin. It is a fantastic second shot day. The course is set

:06:19. > :06:22.up with the usual Sunday pin positions, but set up to receive

:06:23. > :06:30.something like a 66. Somebody can Go Local today. The early holes are

:06:31. > :06:35.still quite tricky. The back nine is really set up, because it's perfect.

:06:36. > :06:41.Still a bit of yield from the rain, they will be altogether the ball

:06:42. > :06:47.just right. There will be bogeys -- birdies and eagles. They will be

:06:48. > :06:57.making lifeline -- life changing decisions. You have set it up to

:06:58. > :07:01.deflate! -- beautifully! Was they get going, the nerves will go away,

:07:02. > :07:05.and we will see some great golf. This is the first time at Augusta

:07:06. > :07:11.that to Europeans have made up the final pairing. Justin Rose and

:07:12. > :07:23.Sergio Garcia will be going out at 7:45pm your time.

:07:24. > :07:30.Rory McIlroy paired again with Matt Kuchar. Paul Casey hopes to fly

:07:31. > :07:32.under the radar en route to at least a third top-10 finish in a row at

:07:33. > :07:46.Augusta. Two former champions, Adam Scott and

:07:47. > :07:55.Charl Schwartzel, they have quietly crept into contention. Ryan Moore

:07:56. > :08:02.and Charley Hoffman made all the running in the first two days. Great

:08:03. > :08:08.friends, Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth. If they get on a roll, watch

:08:09. > :08:17.out. The first all European final pairing in Masters history. The

:08:18. > :08:23.Ryder Cup team-mate. We have got a spectacular Sunday for weather.

:08:24. > :08:27.Hardly a puff of wind, the war Mr Bridges of the week, touching 80

:08:28. > :08:34.degrees, it could be a breathtaking day, in so many respects. Our

:08:35. > :08:39.colleague James pointed out that green and gold are usually the

:08:40. > :08:42.colour combinations reserved for Australian sportsmen, but it could

:08:43. > :08:48.be that for Justin Rose today, a green jacket to go with his

:08:49. > :08:52.gold-medal from the Olympics? Some talents burned so brightly,

:08:53. > :08:59.there is no way to hide them. Raking 70 at 11, a handicap of plus three

:09:00. > :09:00.at 14. Stepping into the fears spotlight on the biggest stage of

:09:01. > :09:06.all, Birkdale, the open. Get in, they cry. And they were

:09:07. > :09:19.right! Every inch a teenager, but the

:09:20. > :09:26.smiling one next door. The name made for headlines. Great things were not

:09:27. > :09:33.too far away. No journeys are smooth, nobody that perfect. Real

:09:34. > :09:39.life arrived like jolting awake, 21 missed cuts in a row, all done in

:09:40. > :09:43.that very public glare. The cries about overhyped, the questions and

:09:44. > :09:47.the sense of turning pro so quickly. But the work continued and

:09:48. > :09:53.improvements followed, small steps, then victories and titles. There was

:09:54. > :09:57.still upset and unhappiness, these were victories for an ailing father,

:09:58. > :10:06.a man who had been a friend and early code and guide, and who was

:10:07. > :10:09.gone too soon. So to Augusta. Love from early sightings, though not

:10:10. > :10:15.immediately requested. He led after the opening two rounds in 2004

:10:16. > :10:19.before faltering. It was still all part of the growing, more experience

:10:20. > :10:23.had been filed away. The passing years brought a family of his own,

:10:24. > :10:28.life changing off because, on it he continued to improve. But the time

:10:29. > :10:37.of the US Open in 2013 he was different, a better player. He took

:10:38. > :10:43.his first major. Justin Rose has won the US Open, the first English

:10:44. > :10:47.winner in 43 years. South African born, now living in America, but

:10:48. > :10:51.there has never been doubt about where Frome is and for whom he

:10:52. > :10:58.plays. Justin Rose has got it! That was something special. Four times at

:10:59. > :11:04.the heart of Europe's Ryder Cup team, a key role in the miracle of a

:11:05. > :11:10.diner. What a finish. He takes out Phil Mickelson. Incredible. Nobody

:11:11. > :11:16.seemed to enjoy the Olympic experience more than him. On the

:11:17. > :11:26.cause, unbeatable, a golfing gold medallist. It is gold. Justin Rose

:11:27. > :11:32.of Great Britain takes Olympic gold. But there remains something

:11:33. > :11:35.unfinished at Augusta. He has been runner-up, one of those left

:11:36. > :11:41.trailing by Jordan Spieth two years ago. He is the dream of headline

:11:42. > :11:46.writers, a rose among the azaleas and Dogwood. He stands so close,

:11:47. > :11:50.playing golf with the precision he always has, showing the talent we

:11:51. > :12:04.could always see, and the early hype seems a lifetime ago. Oh, yes. Just

:12:05. > :12:11.like that. But as everybody knows, it can take a long time to become a

:12:12. > :12:14.master. Justin walks onto the practice

:12:15. > :12:18.ground ahead of his tee time at a few moments ago. He understands the

:12:19. > :12:23.significance of cementing his legacy as a multiple major winner, and this

:12:24. > :12:28.is the first time he has led or co-lead going into the last round of

:12:29. > :12:38.any major. He is a great strategist, you admire his thinking? At this

:12:39. > :12:44.point, feel transport. I can remember what I felt at every

:12:45. > :12:49.tournament, sorry, what I thought at every tournament, but I cannot

:12:50. > :12:54.remember what I felt. You have to manage your nerves, you have to

:12:55. > :13:00.manage your yardage book and your strategy and philosophy. But in the

:13:01. > :13:07.end, it is about who has the best touch on the greens. And who is the

:13:08. > :13:10.most in control of their nerve. You can help yourself along by

:13:11. > :13:15.controlling your breathing, being conscious of your walking pace.

:13:16. > :13:18.Concentration is a beautiful thing to watch, but it is a learned

:13:19. > :13:23.behaviour. One of the guys on the top of learned it the best. It is on

:13:24. > :13:29.the greens that there have been some interesting notes where Justin is

:13:30. > :13:33.concerned. He has been planning since the start of the year.

:13:34. > :13:39.He has been working on his grip, he has used the claw grip, which is

:13:40. > :13:45.where the right-hander sits at an odd angle. Notably done by Chris

:13:46. > :13:51.DiMarco. He has brought a heavier putter. They plan for coming here in

:13:52. > :13:57.April, a work on their game to get it just right, and this is the key

:13:58. > :14:03.to their success. Also the fact that Danny Willett won last year, another

:14:04. > :14:09.Englishman, in your mind you say, I am better than Danny Willett. But

:14:10. > :14:13.this is the key. He has a beautiful iron and driving game, he needs to

:14:14. > :14:17.make some putts. He has won a major Championship, it would not surprise

:14:18. > :14:25.me if he wins are. If yesterday was a dress rehearsal for the back nine,

:14:26. > :14:30.what they rehearsal it was. He was 5-under for the last seven holes, if

:14:31. > :14:33.he does that again, he will be the champion, and it will be interesting

:14:34. > :14:38.to see if he can win and join this list. Sandy Lyle kick-started a

:14:39. > :14:58.bread run. Will the floodgates open again, as

:14:59. > :15:06.they did in the late 80s? On this date, in 1989, Nick Faldo won the

:15:07. > :15:11.first of his three green jacket. It could be a sign. There are so many

:15:12. > :15:21.possibilities. Ken has been looking at the leaderboard.

:15:22. > :15:27.A sunny day on Masters Sunday does not get much better than this. I am

:15:28. > :15:33.by the pond on the 11th, which guards the left edge of the green.

:15:34. > :15:42.It is where the big leaderboard is. It is not easy to open up. At the

:15:43. > :15:45.top of the leaderboard at the moment is Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia,

:15:46. > :15:53.but who will be there later when they march through? We saw say. A

:15:54. > :15:56.great view. We needed a cherry picker to get him

:15:57. > :16:03.back down again! A lovely view. We will discuss Sergio Garcia. Unlike

:16:04. > :16:07.Justin Rose, he knows exactly what the feeling is like to lead going

:16:08. > :16:12.into the last day, he did so at the Open Championship in 2007, and he

:16:13. > :16:18.lost in a play-off to Padraig Harrington. Many of you will

:16:19. > :16:19.remember. He has had four runners-up spots in Majors, this could finally

:16:20. > :16:38.be his turn. It was not easy, but I played hard,

:16:39. > :16:45.I thought as much as I could with what I had. I stayed patient. I

:16:46. > :16:49.waited for my time to make a couple of good things. I got a great break

:16:50. > :17:08.on 13. When things are going well,

:17:09. > :17:16.everything seems to line up easier. There is nothing wrong with that. It

:17:17. > :17:22.does not mean it will be easy. I have to believe in myself again and

:17:23. > :17:27.be patient. Do not freak out even if things go wrong. Seve Ballesteros's

:17:28. > :17:34.50th birthday, how much inspiration are you drawing from him? Hopefully

:17:35. > :17:41.it'll help me. Help is always wanted and welcome. It will be nice if he

:17:42. > :17:47.helps from up there. Hopefully we can get it done and celebrate.

:17:48. > :17:55.It would have been his 60th birthday today, he passed away in 2011. There

:17:56. > :18:03.is Sergio Garcia, walking onto the practice ground ahead of his

:18:04. > :18:11.tea-time. Yesterday there was a shot which I described as his Freddie

:18:12. > :18:15.couples moment. 25 years ago, he left the ball at the 12th, hanging

:18:16. > :18:20.on the bank, and one hole later, he did the same thing.

:18:21. > :18:28.It was a beauty. I went to the 13th, the bank on the left, the grass is

:18:29. > :18:35.long. It looked as if it went into the water. But it smacked on the

:18:36. > :18:42.bank, which was a huge break. Your momentum would go if it goes in the

:18:43. > :18:51.water. Then this delightful chip. He made it look so easy. It was hard,

:18:52. > :18:58.because of the amount of upslope. A key moment. You are good

:18:59. > :19:04.strategists, great psychologists. I wonder how USS Sergio Garcia's

:19:05. > :19:10.approach on these key days and key moment. He has got to wanted the

:19:11. > :19:15.most. He has got to wanted the most, be the most determined. When Charley

:19:16. > :19:19.Hoffman headed in the water yesterday on 16, he could go either

:19:20. > :19:25.way. He could lose his confidence or he could be more determined. When

:19:26. > :19:31.Jack missed it, it made him more determined. Sergio Garcia must be

:19:32. > :19:34.the most determined. He has the most demons and the biggest cross to

:19:35. > :19:39.bear. I feel like it is a mental battle for him. For him, it is the

:19:40. > :19:46.mental side. 2012 he had a bad round. He said, I can't get around

:19:47. > :19:51.Augusta. He has had a few close finishes. It is going out there and

:19:52. > :19:57.being in control of his mental game. He looks a lot calmer. He looks to

:19:58. > :20:04.be within himself. 37 years old, perhaps the maturity is kicking in.

:20:05. > :20:09.Many would love to see him win. He has already won here at Augusta, in

:20:10. > :20:15.the year that Jose-Maria Olazabal won the second of his jackets, 1999.

:20:16. > :20:20.Rossi claimed the silver cup, as the leading amateur. Jose-Maria sent him

:20:21. > :20:27.a note of inspiration on the eve of this year's masters. Hoping he could

:20:28. > :20:34.do it. Very nice. There would be no more appropriate winner on what

:20:35. > :20:38.would have been Seve Ballesteros's 60th birthday than Sergio Garcia. It

:20:39. > :20:42.was here in 1980 that he had a massive breakthrough for European

:20:43. > :20:47.golf, becoming the first European to win the green jacket. He did it

:20:48. > :20:49.again three years ago, -- three years later, but a whole generation

:20:50. > :20:56.grew up wanting to play like him. To become the first European to win

:20:57. > :21:36.the Masters for special. Today his son tweeted, he said,

:21:37. > :21:46.happy birthday, dad, happy 60th birthday. I am sure you go wishing

:21:47. > :21:48.for Sergio today. It can not be easy, being Sergio and having to

:21:49. > :21:57.follow in the wake of these wonderful champions. A large weight

:21:58. > :22:03.to carry around. It is. When Sergio came through in 1999, he nearly won

:22:04. > :22:06.his second or third major Championship, we thought it would be

:22:07. > :22:10.inevitable that he would win four or five, says he has had the pressure

:22:11. > :22:15.all of that time. He has a chance today to put a tick in a box.

:22:16. > :22:19.Anniversaries aplenty today. It was 20 years ago that Tiger Woods won a

:22:20. > :22:28.landmark treachery for himself and for golf, running rings, 12 shots,

:22:29. > :22:31.around everyone else to win here. But 20 years on, in terms of the

:22:32. > :22:37.American influence, I wonder whether the red shirted influence of Tiger

:22:38. > :22:47.Woods will transfer into the orange shirted influence of Rickie Fowler.

:22:48. > :22:57.I cannot go out and make two mini mistakes, I need a solid round of

:22:58. > :23:02.golf. When it comes to the back nine, there are opportunities, where

:23:03. > :23:06.if we are behind, there are some great possibilities on 13 and 15.

:23:07. > :23:11.And some areas where you can make up some ground. It will be fun, but the

:23:12. > :23:16.biggest thing will be to get out of the great -- out of the gate good.

:23:17. > :23:20.Will you allow your mind to wander off and think what it might be like

:23:21. > :23:24.to win this event? I have thought about it before! There is no denying

:23:25. > :23:29.that. There have already been thought. As a kid you are thinking

:23:30. > :23:33.about walking up a team with a five shot lead. If anybody tells you they

:23:34. > :23:40.have a thought about winning the Masters... It will be a special day,

:23:41. > :23:44.I am looking forward to hanging with family and friends tonight, getting

:23:45. > :23:48.some rest. It is a tough week, a good walk, a little up and down. I

:23:49. > :23:54.am looking forward to it. Google Play well tomorrow.

:23:55. > :24:00.He has gone with the orange pants, not the orange shirt! It would look

:24:01. > :24:03.good with the green jacket! He has been superb with his touch on the

:24:04. > :24:10.greens this week, superb putting stats. He has had 79 putts so far,

:24:11. > :24:21.30 out of 30 from five feet. He is the best putter on the board

:24:22. > :24:27.now. Charley Hoffman is putting well as well, Sergio might be the worst.

:24:28. > :24:31.It always comes down to a putt. Unless Sergio can lap the field with

:24:32. > :24:36.his ball striking, it will be a harder challenge for him. Rickie

:24:37. > :24:42.Fowler is the best brand builder since Greg Norman off the course. He

:24:43. > :24:50.has had a top five in all Majors, he does not back off. He's putts go in

:24:51. > :24:54.with authority and conviction. Bubba Watson has inspired him, he has won

:24:55. > :25:01.two Greenjackets, and Rickie Fowler wants to follow him. You like his

:25:02. > :25:11.stroke. You can see a natural feel and flair. Putting is at least 50%

:25:12. > :25:18.touch and feel. He has a beautiful way of running them into the front

:25:19. > :25:24.edge, a loose group. If you can hole from that range consistently, you

:25:25. > :25:28.have got to be in the hunt, and he has put a delightfully. This was 15

:25:29. > :25:34.yesterday. It just flops in, magnificent. Good putting breeds

:25:35. > :25:45.confidence. You think Tom if I make an error, you can catch up. His

:25:46. > :25:52.average, he is picking up three strokes a round on the field. This

:25:53. > :25:55.is his 29th major start, at his plane partner is Jordan Spieth, the

:25:56. > :25:58.most ominous presence on that leaderboard. This man is a master 's

:25:59. > :26:07.machine. You have led going into the final

:26:08. > :26:12.round in every masters you have played so far, will it be a

:26:13. > :26:16.different strategy? To win this tournament, you have to play to win.

:26:17. > :26:23.Other places, you can back off a bit. You can cruise. Here, if you

:26:24. > :26:29.have a chance to go for it, you have a decent number, you have to pull

:26:30. > :26:33.off the shot. In 2015, I have that situation on 13, I chose to go for

:26:34. > :26:41.it, and pulled off the shot and it led to a birdie that kept the lead

:26:42. > :26:45.strong. Those are the moments that people who win this tournament have

:26:46. > :26:50.on Sunday. Tomorrow, it is about when those moments present

:26:51. > :26:55.themselves, being patient, pulling off the shot and recognising that I

:26:56. > :27:00.would know better than anybody that anything can happen on a Sunday.

:27:01. > :27:04.Patients is key. There he is, warming up. For the

:27:05. > :27:08.first time ever he will not be in the final pairing. The last three

:27:09. > :27:13.years he has been a co-leader at least after 54 holes. An astonishing

:27:14. > :27:20.record. He has told himself to seize the moment, Arnold Palmer style.

:27:21. > :27:37.There was a moment yesterday at the 13th.

:27:38. > :27:44.Astonishingly, he went for it, Arnold Palmer style, Phil Mickelson

:27:45. > :27:48.style, and he would have a success at the 13th. Incredible to think

:27:49. > :27:56.about that mindset, to talk yourself into that. It was an interesting

:27:57. > :28:00.thing. The caddies will play a major part today. Saying the right thing

:28:01. > :28:04.at the right time, encouraging your mind to have a go for one. They will

:28:05. > :28:11.have a major influence on the tactics. The leaders have got very

:28:12. > :28:15.experienced caddies. How much do you sense the bones to right the wrong

:28:16. > :28:22.from last year? In his mind he has passed that. He has won twice since

:28:23. > :28:26.then, he has gone past the 12th hole a few times. What a key has the lead

:28:27. > :28:30.on the 12th today? What will run through his mind? There is a lot to

:28:31. > :28:34.look forward to, I forgot about him on the board when I said that Rickie

:28:35. > :28:41.Fowler was the best putter. Everybody on the board is a terrific

:28:42. > :28:45.ball striker, they all have a great game. This should be one heck of a

:28:46. > :28:49.shoot out. The fireworks on the second nine, it could be

:28:50. > :28:55.magnificent. It is the greatest second shot cause, today will be the

:28:56. > :29:00.greatest second shot day in golf. Another interesting fact, we have

:29:01. > :29:03.Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia, then the Americans. The crowd noise could

:29:04. > :29:11.make a difference. If you could get the crowd moving with your group,

:29:12. > :29:15.like the Ryder Cup. It feels like 100% of the fans will be pulling for

:29:16. > :29:21.Rickie Fowler, and for Jordan Spieth as well. It is hard to say that, but

:29:22. > :29:24.the truth be told, they do not favour 1-over the other, but they

:29:25. > :29:30.favour both of them over the Europeans. This is a good three or

:29:31. > :29:36.four times we have mentioned the Ryder Cup, it has that feel, these

:29:37. > :29:44.last two pairings. You might hear some dumb USA, USA chants! I did not

:29:45. > :29:46.want to say it, because once it sticks in my head, I cannot get it

:29:47. > :29:58.out. I always remember that 16th come it

:29:59. > :30:03.is a cauldron of pressure, the noise ricochets around. There is a bit of

:30:04. > :30:05.movement out on the course. We can show you some of the birdies that

:30:06. > :30:18.have been achieved. This is Marc Leishman at the 7th. And this is

:30:19. > :30:26.going to give us an idea. This is what we love about the Sunday at the

:30:27. > :30:32.Masters. Really starting at about Ram Slam, that's when it's going to

:30:33. > :30:35.start to open up for the players. The players will have to be really

:30:36. > :30:42.sensible for the first few holes, not to be too aggressive too early

:30:43. > :30:46.and shoot themselves out of it. They will have all studied the hole

:30:47. > :30:51.locations today, they will know where they're going to attack.

:30:52. > :31:01.Russell Henley, who of course last week won in Houston, to make it to

:31:02. > :31:07.the Masters. And look at that! That is a very, very rare birdie. Paul,

:31:08. > :31:15.what do you make of this man Freddie Couples, 57 years young? It's

:31:16. > :31:23.Freddie Couples, it's really amazing, all the while with a quote

:31:24. > :31:28.bad back! He has so much shoulder turn still for a guy that age,

:31:29. > :31:34.strong chest and strong legs, he still bombs it. Well, this is the

:31:35. > :31:46.leaderboard, Freddie Couples making his move, he's -2, five shots off

:31:47. > :31:53.the pace. We have seen Jimmy Walker, US PGA champion, -1 for today. And

:31:54. > :31:59.Jon Rahm, we like the look of Jon Rahm. He's got fantastic presence.

:32:00. > :32:06.This has been a great learning experience for him. But right on the

:32:07. > :32:11.front page of that, we've been looking at Charley Hoffman and Ryan

:32:12. > :32:18.Moore, both of these fellows in the hunt for their first major.

:32:19. > :32:26.Gentleman, Charley Hoffman, that could double bogey yesterday at the

:32:27. > :32:32.16th but he showed so much nerve in those first couple of days? There

:32:33. > :32:37.has been a lot of pressure on him, he's going to be the most determined

:32:38. > :32:42.guy in the field I think. We'll see what happens. But at this point, it

:32:43. > :32:49.really boils down to, you have to want to win more than you're afraid

:32:50. > :32:53.to fail, it comes down to that. His compatriot Ryan Moore, the two of

:32:54. > :32:57.them are playing together, how much confidence do you think Ryan Moore

:32:58. > :33:05.has been gaining not just from his season last year but also from his

:33:06. > :33:12.Ryder Cup experiences? A could Ryder Cup, you're right at the front. Then

:33:13. > :33:18.you think, I can play golf at the very sharp end. In some ways, the

:33:19. > :33:22.Ryder Cup is even more pressurised. In other tournaments, you can only

:33:23. > :33:27.let yourself down. Anyone who does that in your first Ryder Cup, you've

:33:28. > :33:36.got to say well done. Paul Casey, a man who was in the top four last

:33:37. > :33:43.year. He was a trying to post a good score. I think these early pins,

:33:44. > :33:50.although they're tough, they are much easier than they can be. You

:33:51. > :33:56.can get off to a fast start on that back nine. There's some dangerous

:33:57. > :34:02.hole locations on the front, that one is not one of them. You've just

:34:03. > :34:10.got to be smart and patient and wait, take advantage when you can.

:34:11. > :34:15.To me, it is always about who feels the best at the right moment.

:34:16. > :34:18.Controlling your heart rate. If you can feel your pulse in your

:34:19. > :34:25.fingertips, you've probably what a problem! Who is going to win today?

:34:26. > :34:35.My heart says Sergio, my gut says Justin Rose and Ken? I am a good

:34:36. > :34:40.buddy with Rose, but also Sergio is a firm favourite of mine. It could

:34:41. > :34:43.be any of those four, or someone could come from behind, like Fred

:34:44. > :34:50.Couples. There are two gentlemen waiting on the first tee. Lee

:34:51. > :34:54.Westwood is due off very, very shortly, in the company of Thomas

:34:55. > :35:01.Pieters. And we can join Andrew Cotter and Peter Ellis.

:35:02. > :35:12.PETER ALLISS: Thank you, Hazel. Here he goes, Lee Westwood, in very good

:35:13. > :35:23.shape, played some beautiful golf over the last three days. Needs

:35:24. > :35:25.something in the mid-60s, that could well do it. It's hard work from the

:35:26. > :35:47.very first shot. Sailing away, and... Up the left

:35:48. > :35:55.side, will it hold the fairway? Just off it, should be OK.

:35:56. > :36:03.Thomas Pieters come now driving! Thomas Pieters of Belgium. He can

:36:04. > :36:10.give it a fair old tonk, I can tell you. Recovered very well yesterday,

:36:11. > :36:14.he looked at one stage as though he was heading for 80 but fought back

:36:15. > :36:20.brilliantly towards the end of his round. And here he is. Fifth troop

:36:21. > :36:50.from the end. Oh, I don't know quite what

:36:51. > :37:00.happened, but he's OK, Andrew? Yes, a 3-wood was the choice for Pieters

:37:01. > :37:08.there. He's OK, anyway. Jimmy Walker, this is the Sunday pin

:37:09. > :37:21.position. Just down on the left corner of this green, it is a very

:37:22. > :37:23.small part of the green. That was for a par four. Now, Mickelson,

:37:24. > :38:02.eagle three at Looking back at the 5th. This is a

:38:03. > :38:09.very underrated hole. It looks fairly benign but the greens are

:38:10. > :38:15.very difficult. The greens are very big here, big, long slopes, not all

:38:16. > :38:17.that many places on the green where you get a good area of flat putting

:38:18. > :38:44.surface. Here's Couples... ANDREW COTTER: Not too shabby. The

:38:45. > :38:58.pin is all the way up at the back today. He's gone for the green

:38:59. > :39:05.shirt, eternal optimism. Rory at the second. Unlucky, one bounce forward

:39:06. > :39:15.and that could have gone right down to the hole. Disappointing. Back to

:39:16. > :39:26.Paul Casey on the first for his birdie. He had a terrible putting

:39:27. > :39:37.stance the first two rounds. There we are, final group - friends!

:39:38. > :39:54.Sergio Garcia and his father there. Fowler, warming up. Wonderful

:39:55. > :39:58.practice facilities here. Your field village, Jack Nicklaus's course,

:39:59. > :40:05.also has a wonderful practice area. But here I think beats them all.

:40:06. > :40:13.Butch is close at hand, Fowler's coach. And that is when he will tee

:40:14. > :40:25.off, UK time. Obviously, otherwise he's out very early! As we go to

:40:26. > :40:35.Ross Fisher. A twirl of the club from Fisher. Oh, what a shot! He is

:40:36. > :40:41.+9 so he can afford to go for it. So little between the pin and the front

:40:42. > :40:46.of the green. I'm not sure many of the leaders will be pulling off

:40:47. > :40:56.shots like that. Back to the first, Thomas Pieters, second shot. He

:40:57. > :41:16.won't see much of the green from here.

:41:17. > :41:48.High hands on the putter, Freddie Couples, always been his way. You

:41:49. > :42:03.can see a bit of damage around the hole there, that was Russell Henley,

:42:04. > :42:10.who went straight in. Now, how about this for a putt? This is McIlroy at

:42:11. > :42:15.the second. Got to aim for the top side of the green. Very difficult to

:42:16. > :42:26.get the speed right, but that looks pretty good. Oh, that's brilliant.

:42:27. > :42:33.Brilliant judgment of pace. Westwood on the first.

:42:34. > :42:42.He, too, with a green shirt. Oh, just hit a little bit of an upslope

:42:43. > :42:56.there. That's OK. Another look at Russell Henley.

:42:57. > :43:03.Let's see if we can see the ball actually pitch. Oh, they're not

:43:04. > :43:14.showing that. This is the next hole. He might do it again...! Willet...?

:43:15. > :43:25.Off it goes. He couldn't do it twice in a row...? That's pretty good.

:43:26. > :43:37.He's not quite sure where that's ended up.

:43:38. > :43:49.Curtis Luck, good round he's putting together today. US amateur champion.

:43:50. > :43:57.Big, big talent. Spieth on the practice ground. I find him a very

:43:58. > :44:03.interesting player to watch. In his early early 20s, and he's not an

:44:04. > :44:09.elegant player. At times he looks a bit clumsy. They talk about his

:44:10. > :44:13.magical putting, he does two or three things which are not the

:44:14. > :44:20.accepted rule for people who putt very well. He doesn't look at the

:44:21. > :44:25.ball, looks at the hole, does certain things his own way. Not very

:44:26. > :44:38.balanced, but by God, he gets the job done. Fisher, for eagle on the

:44:39. > :44:47.15th. These players not in contention, but well worth their

:44:48. > :44:51.while to have a look at the holes to see what will be facing the leaders.

:44:52. > :45:07.I did not think there was much reached today, but there's a bit of

:45:08. > :45:12.life in that water. Who yeah, there is a touch of life about. You see

:45:13. > :45:22.that one, you think it must go right, but no, straight as a die.

:45:23. > :45:33.Nice birdie. So nearly an eagle three. +8.

:45:34. > :45:41.Now, Garcia on the range. As ball strikers go, he has always been

:45:42. > :45:42.right up there with the very, very best. Heading off in that final

:45:43. > :46:00.group with Justin Rose. Question, just a question, around

:46:01. > :46:06.his putting. And also, does he have the mentality - which he has

:46:07. > :46:10.questioned himself in the past? And we shall see today whether he does

:46:11. > :46:15.have it. He says he's changed as a person. Up ahead, Lee Westwood for a

:46:16. > :46:30.three... That's a nice start terms for

:46:31. > :46:41.Westwood. Just a bit short with his second shot, nice long opening putt,

:46:42. > :46:43.just settles you down. You get the feeling there are just too many

:46:44. > :46:59.players ahead of Westwood and McIlroy. But one of them could well

:47:00. > :47:11.challenge, Peter. There we are, the damage done by Henley, painted

:47:12. > :47:18.again. And this was heavily's second shot, this is how it happened. In it

:47:19. > :47:26.went for a two! There we are, you see! I don't know whether they're

:47:27. > :47:36.actually cutting a new hole in close ox, with? Yes, brand new hole. -- in

:47:37. > :47:41.close proximity. That's interesting, they're cutting a brand-new hole, so

:47:42. > :47:48.the players still to come are not playing exactly the same course.

:47:49. > :48:05.Well, that's what it looks like. 18 inches away. These are Masters of

:48:06. > :48:15.their craft. A little bit of this, a touch of paprika... Little bit of

:48:16. > :48:30.that. Stick it in for 20 minutes... It's gone, it was never there! Never

:48:31. > :48:33.happened! In goes the white liner. And you didn't see us, we were never

:48:34. > :48:59.hear! Players just waiting behind. As we

:49:00. > :49:04.leave the gardening and take a look at Pieters at the first. He would

:49:05. > :49:14.have followed the line of Westwood's putt to the hole. It's going left...

:49:15. > :49:29.Oh, it came back. Two beautiful long putts, two tidy fours.

:49:30. > :49:50.This is going right at it, is it? No. But this might come down, Peter.

:49:51. > :49:54.Yes, it's got a bit of movement in it. That's a great result, going

:49:55. > :50:10.straight back up the hill. Fisher at the 16th, familiar Sunday

:50:11. > :50:16.pin position. Let's see how Fisher handles it. As we think of the drama

:50:17. > :50:28.to come here in four or five hours' time. That needs to hop up. That's

:50:29. > :50:35.pretty good. Earned his place here with his performance at the World

:50:36. > :50:45.Matchplay a couple of weeks ago. Broomstick Roy, third hole, second

:50:46. > :50:50.shot. That needs to come back... Hit it a little bit too hard and now,

:50:51. > :51:04.he's left himself a very difficult third shot. Henley, gets a birdie.

:51:05. > :51:13.The hole-damager gets back to level par. Charge Swart saw, former

:51:14. > :51:25.winner, just in an awkward spot here. Careful you don't slip.

:51:26. > :51:38.Has he got it online? Just caught the sound I think.

:51:39. > :51:53.Green is certainly the go to colour today. He had that wonderful finish

:51:54. > :51:58.in 2007, clergy in the last four holes. Of course we sent out Ken

:51:59. > :52:04.Brown earlier today to have a look at the course. You can get some

:52:05. > :52:14.adventurous putts here at Augusta National. Some huge breaks, and just

:52:15. > :52:17.have a look at this one. With a putt like this, you've got to pick the

:52:18. > :52:26.high point, where you're going to aim it. I'm going to start it just

:52:27. > :52:30.about there, that's about 12ft left, so let's have a go and see if we can

:52:31. > :52:38.do it. It's all about reading the greens, the feel, the touch. That's

:52:39. > :52:48.almost 15ft left. So we'll start it on that line and see if it'll break.

:52:49. > :52:52.Look at it, it just keeps running round and round. Let's have another

:52:53. > :52:59.go. This putt could easily get away from you. Look at that, it just

:53:00. > :53:19.keeps going. It's like it's sliding down a sheet of lino. These greens

:53:20. > :53:25.are slick! You talk about master potters, Ken Brown would be in my

:53:26. > :53:34.top ten of all time! This is for another one, and he rattles it in,

:53:35. > :53:52.well done! Well done indeed! Four over par. Back to Adam Scott.

:53:53. > :54:02.Beautiful tee-shot. Just needed to come down. Paul Casey, after that

:54:03. > :54:11.superb second at the second hole. Oh, that just got away. Only a

:54:12. > :54:19.birdie. I fancied him to get that one.

:54:20. > :54:33.He'll have a lot of sentimental support, Couples.

:54:34. > :54:49.Westwood, looking down the hill, right into the heart of the second

:54:50. > :54:58.green. The flag away on the right corner, behind that bunker. If this

:54:59. > :55:06.land is in the gap, it can turn right and wonder all the way down to

:55:07. > :55:11.the hole. That's not hard enough. A whisker short. Interesting, the

:55:12. > :55:37.breeze has just picked up a little bit. I think that foxed Westwood.

:55:38. > :55:46.Broomstick Roy, third hole, huge drive, simple little pitch, hit it

:55:47. > :55:59.too hard, leaving him this treacherous putt. It was a question

:56:00. > :56:03.of trying to get down in two. Justin Rose, the man in Black today. Played

:56:04. > :56:10.in the final group in 2015, when Spieth ran away with it. -14, he

:56:11. > :56:22.finished. He has become a beautiful goal for now. -- beautiful all for.

:56:23. > :56:29.Northants golf club, I will be there in a few weeks' time. Just watch the

:56:30. > :56:37.rhythm here. He's a tall fella. Look at that, isn't that lovely? That's

:56:38. > :56:39.the way you do it. And you compare that with Spieth, who looks jerky

:56:40. > :57:16.and out-of-control. But my word... Daniel Berger at the 12th chef would

:57:17. > :57:34.you believe it?! Hallelujah! Come on! Give me some skin! They do talk

:57:35. > :57:41.funny over here. Playing alongside Hagestad steely amateur champion. He

:57:42. > :57:46.is having a bit of a tussle with Curtis Luck for leading to. -- for

:57:47. > :58:16.leading amateur. This looks like McGirt, on the

:58:17. > :58:22.fourth. 233 yards today. A not unpleasant start for McGirt. 69 in

:58:23. > :58:32.the first-round, but dropping out of things thereafter. Now, Jordan

:58:33. > :58:42.Spieth, just having a few little putts. Just a little bit closer than

:58:43. > :58:49.this, he lines it up and then turns his head to the left and looks at

:58:50. > :58:55.the hole. He's not doing it at the moment. Cross handed, as you can

:58:56. > :59:04.see. Three in a row - like shelling peas!

:59:05. > :59:14.Not too shabby, is it? Only been here three times, this is his fourth

:59:15. > :59:24.appearance. This is Curtis Luck. +1 for his round today. This, for par.

:59:25. > :59:26.This might be good enough, but it's going to be close for leading

:59:27. > :59:47.amateur. That's a bit of a sad finish, but +9

:59:48. > :59:51.might still be good enough. Asia-Pacific amateur champion as

:59:52. > :00:02.well - he qualified twice for the Masters.

:00:03. > :00:12.Hole The mid amateur champion, a few of those do well at the Masters.

:00:13. > :00:27.That could be very good. It stopped, how can that do that? It has left

:00:28. > :00:31.him a treacherous left to right. Paul Casey hitting the ball

:00:32. > :00:37.beautifully so far, and iron off the tee at the 3rd, to leave himself a

:00:38. > :00:45.full wage in, get some control. A shallow green, where the pain is.

:00:46. > :00:59.We have seen one or two stick. You normally think it would ramble down.

:01:00. > :01:04.A good Taioseach for Ryan Moore. The flag is middle right. In a bit of a

:01:05. > :01:11.hollow, at the bottom of the slope. He has left a long putt across the

:01:12. > :01:56.green. To say the least. A vision of balance, until he let

:01:57. > :02:05.the club go. Still balance, mind you. Looks very colourful today,

:02:06. > :02:13.like an ice cream sundae. He looked a bit autumnal the other days. ,

:02:14. > :02:23.speakers has done it. Nicely, nicely.

:02:24. > :02:33.A couple of Fairway woods for Justin Rose. Then he will head across to

:02:34. > :02:37.the fairly new practice ground. And then pass the clubhouse, over to the

:02:38. > :02:42.practice putting green, behind the first tee. Teeing off in the final

:02:43. > :02:56.group. It is hard to believe this facility

:02:57. > :03:02.is only used for this one week, apart from members, of course. The

:03:03. > :03:07.club is open for six months of the year. You will not believe the size

:03:08. > :03:12.of the press room. It looks like a hundred bedroom hotel. There must be

:03:13. > :03:20.plans to do other things with it. But I know not what.

:03:21. > :03:25.Ken Brown and Paul Azinger back with us, and raring to go.

:03:26. > :03:39.Thank you, Peter. Jordan Spieth walks through to hit

:03:40. > :03:45.the first tee shot. It is to be a much longer walk to get from the

:03:46. > :03:55.putting green to the first tee. They have moved the first tee back 70

:03:56. > :04:00.yards in the last ten years or so. A good tee shot from Charley Hoffman.

:04:01. > :04:09.The gathering valley here. A bit more accessible. A nice start.

:04:10. > :04:32.Important times. A deep breath there as he plots down into the car.

:04:33. > :04:46.He misses a lot of those. He has missed a couple on Friday.

:04:47. > :04:57.He has got an adventure here. My goodness.

:04:58. > :05:11.Not bad, really. If you let it go to the right, it would have run to the

:05:12. > :05:15.edge of the bunker. There is a ridge where he is now. If he had missed to

:05:16. > :05:24.be right, it would have fed down to the collar. He erred on the safe

:05:25. > :06:16.side. Look at the patrons gathered to watch this showcase.

:06:17. > :06:28.You cannot see it, but the lip is higher than it looks. You get the

:06:29. > :06:36.feeling this to ball will pull most of the local crowd around with them.

:06:37. > :06:45.The patrons, of course. Going with a 3-wood. To take the bunker out of

:06:46. > :06:53.play. A slight breeze behind the players'

:06:54. > :07:06.back. So much for taking the bunker out of

:07:07. > :07:16.play. I do not believe he thought he could reach, but he did.

:07:17. > :07:26.He is going to make a charge, he cannot afford to miss too many of

:07:27. > :07:33.these. He started at level par, and he is back there, if he pops that

:07:34. > :07:57.in. A slightly crock iron off the tee.

:07:58. > :08:04.He has the flame-throwers on today, the red trousers, and what a putt.

:08:05. > :08:18.Treacherously fast. A good three feet of break. A fairly short par-4

:08:19. > :08:24.on the course. A dandy of a start, he moved to a couple under.

:08:25. > :08:29.All of these guys on one or 2-under feel as though they are in

:08:30. > :08:46.contention at the moment. In the last 27 Masters, the

:08:47. > :08:51.champions have always emerged from inside the top five on the

:08:52. > :08:58.leaderboard going into round four. It means that Adam Scott downwards

:08:59. > :09:06.will have to defy those statistics. History says it will be behind --

:09:07. > :09:14.between the top six. Never ruled Jordan Spieth out. Paul Casey on a

:09:15. > :09:18.roll. Great play from him. And Thomas Pieters. We saw Fred Couples

:09:19. > :09:43.with that early birdie. That is so good, I cannot tell you.

:09:44. > :09:48.That is nerveless. Such a difficult speed to be comfortable with. It is

:09:49. > :09:58.not natural for a ball to roll Buckfast on grass. This grass is so

:09:59. > :10:04.tight. The leading amateur at the moment, a two shot cushion on the

:10:05. > :10:11.other player, who has finished his round. Almost. It looks like he is

:10:12. > :10:25.having a great time and he should be.

:10:26. > :10:39.The breeze by the green. A little left to right, slightly helping.

:10:40. > :10:46.There is a tree that hangs over. It will all depend on the light. You

:10:47. > :10:50.see the grooves in the sand. Sometimes the ball sits heavy in the

:10:51. > :10:54.sand. You have to make a clean strike. If you miss short, it is a

:10:55. > :11:07.treacherous up and down. He have to try to cut it in from the

:11:08. > :11:14.middle of the green. The sand is so white, it is like a mirror

:11:15. > :11:18.sometimes, it reflects back at you. Some players will put sunglasses on

:11:19. > :11:37.to play out of these bunkers. Let's see if he can make good contact.

:11:38. > :11:46.That is what he will face. Into the valley. The hole is in a spot, he

:11:47. > :11:55.may not have enough of a backstop to roll in the past and bring it back.

:11:56. > :12:00.We will see what is in store. The way Rickie Fowler is looking, the

:12:01. > :12:03.flag is under the Masters logo, he was looking to the left, he did not

:12:04. > :12:20.think he could get it over the lip. We first saw him at the Walker cup

:12:21. > :12:29.matches in 2007. He looked a scrap of a lad. He was a small fella with

:12:30. > :12:36.a lot of pop. He has 140 yards here. This is all carried to the hole. The

:12:37. > :12:44.green should hold nicely. It is only 122 the front. It is wedge all day

:12:45. > :12:48.long, but he has to go further than the front. It looks like he is

:12:49. > :12:57.hitting some sort of specialty shot. He will try to cut it. A stronger

:12:58. > :13:03.club. Over the point of the bunker. Never much discussion about the

:13:04. > :13:09.bunkers here. But he did not want to play from any of them if you can

:13:10. > :13:20.help it. You do not see this every day.

:13:21. > :13:27.Has he pulled it off? It was a spectacular effort. Not bad from

:13:28. > :13:32.where he was. A little unlucky. If you get tight to the lip, it is

:13:33. > :13:38.difficult to make progress. He is in a better shot than -- better spot

:13:39. > :13:42.than Jordan Spieth. This is really fast. I do not think he can land it

:13:43. > :14:08.on. I was wrong about that. Look at the pace they are walking

:14:09. > :14:14.at. You have to do everything I'm horrid. -- unhurried. Very conscious

:14:15. > :14:26.of their walking pace already. A good line. It just drift away. A

:14:27. > :14:59.lost opportunity. Not a bad spot. Slightly more up the

:15:00. > :15:09.hill from this angle. It ran out of pace. He misjudged it.

:15:10. > :15:13.Who can forget Charl Schwartzel's four birdie finish to win here in a

:15:14. > :15:29.few years back. All great all strikers at the top of

:15:30. > :15:31.the board. Quality players here. The Queen has risen to the top once

:15:32. > :15:39.again. I love the announcement. Good luck

:15:40. > :16:21.to both of you. A 3-wood. The bunker is 278 yards. A

:16:22. > :16:23.bit down when today. He can probably reach with that club but might not

:16:24. > :16:51.know it. That is pretty steady. You wait 23

:16:52. > :17:03.hours, you hit a pearl. Sergio Garcia now driving.

:17:04. > :17:13.310 yards to carry the bunker. A slightly helping breeze. I am sure

:17:14. > :17:24.he wants to go slightly left of it, play a cut of the pine trees.

:17:25. > :17:30.Looks like a sprinter, ready to step off the blocks. He needs a fast but

:17:31. > :17:58.smooth start. That looks like cracker Jack, a

:17:59. > :17:59.lovely flight on it. He could not have placed it in a better spot,

:18:00. > :18:22.that is a gem. That is about as good as you could

:18:23. > :18:27.hope for. I do not think he intended to use the backstop, and I wondered

:18:28. > :18:31.if they could get it far enough back and if the backstop was close

:18:32. > :18:36.enough. It appears to be. That is a pretty good shot. A lovely tight

:18:37. > :18:42.lie. A good to put the Paul Casey. Par is

:18:43. > :19:28.a marvellous score. If you wanted to leave yourself a

:19:29. > :19:30.more nasty, tricky putt from four and a half feet, there is hardly any

:19:31. > :19:46.more. I think it was a misread, to hit it

:19:47. > :20:15.that firmly. He still has the good two feet left.

:20:16. > :20:20.The first green is always the toughest. Once you get past this

:20:21. > :20:30.hole, the nerves will settle down to everybody. Scary tee shot, scary

:20:31. > :20:37.green. He did not look at the hole on either of the putts. It started

:20:38. > :21:01.with the tee shot into the sand. Onto the reachable second now for

:21:02. > :21:03.these two players. The wafer Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia to play their

:21:04. > :21:18.second shot into the first. I thought that would run out a bit

:21:19. > :21:29.more. It is like going down a funfair

:21:30. > :21:41.slide, it keeps true Klingon. Of the greens fast at Augusta? Is

:21:42. > :22:10.Norfolk flat? Justin Rose is ready. He may have is

:22:11. > :22:22.well go right at it. Just a 9-iron or a wedge. No further left than the

:22:23. > :22:23.pine tree you see. It will feed into the right, he has a backstop behind

:22:24. > :22:46.the pin. Do not be short. The flag looked like it was slightly

:22:47. > :22:53.helping early on, but it was straight across for his second shot.

:22:54. > :22:59.If you had given him a ball... This is the awkwardness of the chip. He

:23:00. > :23:08.will have to use the slope beyond the flag. You see where Justin

:23:09. > :23:20.Rose's ball is, how could he have done that? You only have to miss by

:23:21. > :23:25.a small margin to pay a heavy price. Taking another big deep breath. This

:23:26. > :23:53.is a really green light flag. An amazing start for Sergio.

:23:54. > :24:00.Beautiful pressure packed tee shot. A nice wage.

:24:01. > :24:28.We saw his bump and run run six feet past the hole.

:24:29. > :24:44.Caught a little off-guard by the pace of his bunker shot. What a

:24:45. > :24:50.putt. He has got a lot of pedigree. He won the United States amateur. He

:24:51. > :24:59.has had some injuries. A great Ryder Cup.

:25:00. > :25:16.Going with a driver at the short par-4 3rd. He has driven it, this

:25:17. > :25:21.will feed in. Can you believe it? Have you seen one up there before?

:25:22. > :25:27.Never. I have never seen anybody reach. That is a mile away, 350

:25:28. > :25:44.yards. That was nothing but centre cut. He

:25:45. > :25:53.had the big mishap on 16 yesterday, a horrible shot. It does not seem to

:25:54. > :26:03.have affected his confidence at all. Such a delicate touch required here.

:26:04. > :26:07.Played it nicely, just like Lee Westwood, it keeps turning. But at

:26:08. > :26:14.least you are putting back up the hill. Pretty good. Justin Rose has

:26:15. > :26:20.got a decision to make. It will depend on his line and nerve, how he

:26:21. > :26:22.feels. Will he bump this past and try to bring it back like Rickie

:26:23. > :26:58.Fowler? Slightly lower. It just tipped over. On a run of

:26:59. > :27:12.birdies. He has not got the greatest record here.

:27:13. > :27:28.He is starting to make the amateur Silver Medal look more and more his.

:27:29. > :27:50.The hole is in the back right portion of the green. He has got the

:27:51. > :28:00.firepower to land it in the gap. And let it feed in. It is too far left.

:28:01. > :28:09.That will be a fast one. It is like a green Axminster carpet,

:28:10. > :28:24.it is magnificent, the grass. The cup looks to be slipping from

:28:25. > :28:31.right to left, left to right for him. He is aiming well left. Never

:28:32. > :28:34.easy to pick the line when you are putting between two mounts.

:28:35. > :28:41.Beautifully done. First question answered on the exam

:28:42. > :28:54.paper. Quite a bit downhill. The breeze is

:28:55. > :29:19.slightly against. It is a long way away, but it is not

:29:20. > :29:56.that hard a shot. Sergio for birdie. There we go,

:29:57. > :30:07.Sergio! What a start for Justin and Sergio. Great par Justin Rose and an

:30:08. > :30:15.even better birdie the Sergio. You can see Sergio moving along at a

:30:16. > :30:21.nice steady pace. Ryan Moore, second shot at number three, up the hill.

:30:22. > :30:30.You have to be so precise here, not a lot of room. Anything short will

:30:31. > :30:36.be 30 yards off the green. Oh, and hit up a break into that bunker. At

:30:37. > :31:03.it is doable. Birdie chance for Fred Couples from

:31:04. > :31:08.short range. Moves to -2. Hoffman to the third. Leaning... Lovely.

:31:09. > :31:25.KEN BROWN: Just a sliver of putting surface on the third, only ten yards

:31:26. > :31:35.wide. ANDREW COTTER: That bunker on the

:31:36. > :31:40.right-hand focuses the mind, Ken? Yes, looks like he's setting up to

:31:41. > :31:58.go over it - it's a big hit to do that. And the flight he gets, if he

:31:59. > :32:04.gets it right... And that... Ideal. It's 308 to get past that bunker

:32:05. > :32:19.that you saw. Huge hit from Garcia. If your tee-shot drifts, it goes

:32:20. > :32:48.left into that dried up stream. Sit down... Just caught it out of

:32:49. > :33:00.the heel of the club. There is a big, steep lip on that bunker. Now,

:33:01. > :33:18.Jordan Spieth. Wide stance. He's going to flies this...

:33:19. > :33:23.One he has done there is to leave himself back up the hill. And

:33:24. > :33:30.slightly from the left. Interesting way he played it. Yes, it was the

:33:31. > :33:40.wise option, I think. Rory McIlory to save par on the par three 6th. It

:33:41. > :33:49.HAD to drop. He can't afford any more dropped shots. And he needs a

:33:50. > :33:50.good many more birdies. He's got nothing to lose, he doesn't care

:33:51. > :34:11.whether he's 25th Ray fifth. This will take all of Rickie

:34:12. > :34:13.Fowler's skill. Must have been trying to land it a little bit

:34:14. > :34:38.shorter. Martin Kaymer, going for five in a

:34:39. > :34:49.row. And he has it! He has never finished in the top 30 before at the

:34:50. > :34:51.Masters. He's a fader, which does not really suit Augusta National,

:34:52. > :35:11.for the right-hander. You take your relief, and you have

:35:12. > :35:23.got to drop the ball within one club length. We saw the little bracelet,

:35:24. > :35:35.the wristband that Jordan Spieth is wearing, that says WWAD, What Would

:35:36. > :35:53.Arnie Do?. Arnie, like Seve, used to get after

:35:54. > :35:54.the course, if there was a chance of an attacking shot, he would

:35:55. > :36:27.generally have a go at it. It's a relatively easy hole if you

:36:28. > :36:38.just play for a par. But it's relatively tricky if you play for a

:36:39. > :36:50.birdie. Has he got his eye back in? He has. In 15 rounds here at Augusta

:36:51. > :37:04.National, his average score is 70. Pretty amazing. Not too bad!

:37:05. > :37:12.Founder, then, to save his par. -- Fowler.

:37:13. > :37:21.I don't know how he gets his feet through those little holes in his

:37:22. > :37:37.trousers! Charley Hoffman, down the slope, left to right.

:37:38. > :37:45.It's a nasty little pin position, that. Great view of what Garcia has

:37:46. > :37:51.left. Remember, Louis Oosthuizen, 2012, hit it right in the front

:37:52. > :37:56.there. And it went all the way round to the pin. That's what I think

:37:57. > :38:04.Garcia will be hoping to do, feed it round the contours of the green.

:38:05. > :38:15.But depending on trajectory, if you hit it a little bit higher, you can

:38:16. > :38:24.do a fraction further right. You can go almost straight at it but you

:38:25. > :38:27.can't really bounce it up there. On a slight downslope as well, it is

:38:28. > :38:35.hard to really get it up in the air and get it to stop.

:38:36. > :38:52.Feet open, he's setting up for something other fade. -- something

:38:53. > :38:56.of a fade... He WAS going right at it! Well, he did, he wasn't

:38:57. > :39:16.intending to! Double bogey for Moore. Two shots

:39:17. > :39:28.gone at the third, like Mickelson an hour or so ago. One of England's's

:39:29. > :39:34.hopes, Paul Casey, at the 6th, this little table top... Please keep

:39:35. > :39:44.going... If that had been a yard short, it would have been back to

:39:45. > :39:55.his feet. Matthew Fitzpatrick second to the second last.

:39:56. > :40:04.Down it goes. -2 for his round today, started +6. Tied for 30th as

:40:05. > :40:21.it stands. This, to save his par at the par

:40:22. > :40:36.three 6th, Casey. Oh, that's so sweet, that is just magnificent.

:40:37. > :40:46.Good putt holed at the 3rd, and a couple of beauties since then.

:40:47. > :40:51.HAZEL IRVINE: There's the situation, and Sergio Garcia has started off

:40:52. > :40:56.beautifully. Justin Rose hanging onto his coat-tails at the moment.

:40:57. > :41:00.Charley Hoffman has made some ground, this is the man who led by

:41:01. > :41:06.four after the first round, the largest first-round lead for more

:41:07. > :41:10.than 60 years, and he's not going away, the man from California. And

:41:11. > :41:15.another Californian right next to him, Rickie Fowler. Jordan Spieth,

:41:16. > :41:26.who dropped that shot at the first. Some very big names in there. Great

:41:27. > :41:35.progress for Fred Couples and Paul Casey. Remember, the top 12 receive

:41:36. > :41:42.an automatic invitation to come back next year. Martin Kaymer, on that

:41:43. > :41:50.run of five birdies in a row. The record is seven, and it has been

:41:51. > :41:57.done twice, Steve Pete in 1999, and, inevitably, Tiger Woods. Thomas

:41:58. > :42:01.Pieters, in his first Masters, the man who was such a strong presence

:42:02. > :42:10.for the European Ryder Cup team last year in Hazeltine. He's -1 for the

:42:11. > :42:15.tournament. And the hopes of these men have all but gone. Brendan

:42:16. > :42:22.Steele him with a very good round today. So much to come.

:42:23. > :42:40.ANDREW COTTER: Fitzpatrick on the 17th. He was going along so well

:42:41. > :42:50.until the 9th in the second round. He's worked hard to keep going since

:42:51. > :42:57.then. As we go to Rose. KEN BROWN: Certainly a good angle to

:42:58. > :42:59.get to the flag. That should gather up a bit more... That's an absolute

:43:00. > :43:13.gemstone! Spieth, looking for... Oh, really?!

:43:14. > :43:40.That is a huge slice of Fortune. Sergio has got to play to the left

:43:41. > :43:52.and hope he gets far enough up the back bank that it will come back. I

:43:53. > :44:09.think it might... It's dot to keep running. A really creative shot.

:44:10. > :44:22.Now, Westwood from the elevated 16th tee.

:44:23. > :44:30.Such a difficult pin position. Westwood, with one of the finest

:44:31. > :44:37.shots of the day so far. It really is a tiny landing area to stay up

:44:38. > :44:41.the maul if you want to go at the flag, you've got to be just right

:44:42. > :44:59.for stop anything short comes back to you. That's the shot, folks! A

:45:00. > :45:08.little bit more margin of error if you hit it to the right of that pin.

:45:09. > :45:19.Kaymer, on a run of five birdies, this is his third, though, on the

:45:20. > :45:27.14th. Wants that to come back... Oh, that's cruelty.

:45:28. > :45:47.Very quick down the slope, this is for THE perfect start...

:45:48. > :45:58.And look where Jordan Spieth finished. Down, he says. Even with

:45:59. > :46:08.all that spin, it has left him of one, half fairway, half green, to

:46:09. > :46:15.come. Rose, for his birdie. Oh, I don't believe it. His was

:46:16. > :46:40.substantially easier than Sergio's. I wonder what those two misses will

:46:41. > :46:53.do, will it start to nibble away at their minds? But they're is to in a

:46:54. > :47:05.good position. Back to Spieth shortly. First, we go ahead to

:47:06. > :47:26.McIlroy. Very awkward spot number made it look easy. He needs one or

:47:27. > :47:35.two red figures. So, Spieth, wide stance. He probably meant to carry

:47:36. > :47:48.it another eight inches. Hoffman, long, long birdie putt.

:47:49. > :48:23.He's done it very well. KEN BROWN: Adam Scott. At the 5th,

:48:24. > :48:37.playing it pretty well. But he's left himself another one of those.

:48:38. > :48:47.Spieth is in a bit of bother here. Well, he's got one of these putts...

:48:48. > :48:51.Sergio is having a go with the driver.

:48:52. > :49:13.Just goes to show how far Adam Scott's tee-shot was. Caddie number

:49:14. > :49:20.89, that was the same number that Danny Willett had last year. So,

:49:21. > :49:26.Spieth now for his par. Moving already, telling it to slow down as

:49:27. > :49:32.well. That's not in yet for bogey. Early days, but he's some distance

:49:33. > :49:39.back at the moment. Justin Rose going with the big stick as well.

:49:40. > :49:50.Yes, that was a huge drive from Adam Scott, because both these players

:49:51. > :50:05.can shift it. We know it's quick, it looks quick,

:50:06. > :50:07.and by golly, it is quick down this slope.

:50:08. > :50:26.Superb, for Rickie Fowler! -6, one stroke behind Garcia. That's a

:50:27. > :50:39.confidence booster, those ones down the hill. Right on the front bottom

:50:40. > :50:41.level here, Schwartzel, up the hill. Two from here would be very pleasant

:50:42. > :50:55.indeed. It's a big putt, this. If he were to

:50:56. > :51:05.miss, double bogey, he would be five behind Garcia, four behind his

:51:06. > :51:17.playing partner. It's not quite a putter length, so, not quite 3ft.

:51:18. > :51:21.Doesn't look comfortable. It's easy to see it is right-to-left and

:51:22. > :51:30.slightly uphill, it's just about pace.

:51:31. > :52:01.What would Arnie do? Well, heed probably do that!

:52:02. > :52:13.Lee Westwood, lovely tee-shot on the sixth.

:52:14. > :52:23.We were talking about it earlier, the back nine is where the real

:52:24. > :52:30.birdie opportunities come. At the moment, the leaders are having a few

:52:31. > :52:40.struggles on the opening holes. As we move to the 12th, and Phil

:52:41. > :52:46.Mickelson. The pin in its usual Sunday position, on the right side.

:52:47. > :52:54.Phil Mickelson getting a rousing reception, as he always does.

:52:55. > :53:04.Three-time winner. Paul Casey, short of the 7th.

:53:05. > :53:19.That has got to come down. He's watching it. It's very steep, that

:53:20. > :53:34.slope. It might even go past the cup. Only at Augusta!

:53:35. > :53:43.Mickelson, among the also-rans. After the first couple of rounds,

:53:44. > :53:45.you felt sure that he was going to push on. But he has looked a bit

:53:46. > :54:14.weary this week. He's going with a five iron. This

:54:15. > :54:28.has copped to be knotted. It was a massive 5-iron. That was a big ask.

:54:29. > :54:39.-- got to be nutted. Now, this is as uninviting as it looks. The only

:54:40. > :54:41.advantage you've got, you're playing slightly up the slope of the green.

:54:42. > :54:59.Got to land this on a frying pan. Yes, it's an interesting choice to

:55:00. > :55:02.go with driver. Unless you have the absolute power to get there, you do

:55:03. > :55:08.leave yourself with an awkward estimates. Spieth going with the

:55:09. > :55:22.4-iron, that makes a little bit more sense. That's a good tee-shot. Just

:55:23. > :55:30.stays. It hasn't stopped yet. Now, Sergio. He has played someone the

:55:31. > :55:38.full little pitches, but this has got to be spot on. And it was nearly

:55:39. > :55:45.brilliant. When you're pitching up those banks, it's like hitting onto

:55:46. > :56:03.some polished lino. You get some crystal when you make

:56:04. > :56:16.an eagle any time during the Masters. If crystal goblets, rather

:56:17. > :56:33.nice. Fitzpatrick finishes with... Oh! Tiptoed tantalisingly over the

:56:34. > :56:40.right edge of the cup. Started the day on +6. What a start he had,

:56:41. > :56:50.birdies on the first three holes. And it was a mixed bag after that.

:56:51. > :57:01.Went round in 70 in the end. +4 for the man from Sheffield - big talent.

:57:02. > :57:15.Not much bounce on his sand wedge, the ball just nestling a little bit.

:57:16. > :57:28.Pretty darn good. Just having to flip it up over that little bank,

:57:29. > :57:38.it's so tricky. Charley Hoffman, the pin all the way up the back of this

:57:39. > :57:47.fifth green. He might drop from there. He'll need a free THROW, I

:57:48. > :58:04.think! That is in Alcatraz! So, Garcia, remains in this slow

:58:05. > :58:09.motion mode here. Your body and your mind will be telling you to have the

:58:10. > :58:20.urgency, everything will be hurried. Telling himself to calm things down.

:58:21. > :58:30.This is across the slope and a little bit down the hill.

:58:31. > :58:47.Has he...? Oh, you beauty! Right in the centre of the cup. Splendid,

:58:48. > :59:03.splendid start for Garcia. You just know that his mind is going Myler

:59:04. > :59:15.minute. He's padding around, but he's boiling inside.

:59:16. > :59:24.Garcia MIGHT stand on that tea with a three-shot lead. Now, Rose. He's

:59:25. > :59:47.two behind his playing partner. I think you're right, Andrew, I

:59:48. > :59:53.think Sergio's mind is just running a mile a minute. But if you look at

:59:54. > :00:00.the body, it looks calm, he's walking at such a leisurely pace.

:00:01. > :00:06.PETER ALLISS: Now, Spieth. Long birdie putt. Just a touch more and

:00:07. > :00:16.it was there. Not the best of starts for the young fella. So much

:00:17. > :00:27.expectation surrounding this Sunday play, but it hasn't happened yet.

:00:28. > :00:42.Plenty of time. He thought he had got this.

:00:43. > :00:54.Adam Scott at the 6th for birdie. A mile a minute been there. Don't

:00:55. > :01:17.count Adam Scott out just yet. Now, Fowler for his par at the 4th.

:01:18. > :01:22.He is putted magnificently from this distance so far. Time after time, he

:01:23. > :01:27.has holed these, mostly it must be said, for par.

:01:28. > :01:51.A shot dropped on this Super Sunday, Seve 's Sunday. Westwood on seven.

:01:52. > :01:58.He's got a backstop, with the bunkers. That will come back. There

:01:59. > :02:08.it goes, does it have the pace to reach? It is on a good line. Oh...

:02:09. > :02:20.He knows how to play here. McIlroy, for a birdie at the 8th. Well done,

:02:21. > :02:42.but he's running out of holes. Sergio at the 4th. 233 yards today.

:02:43. > :02:51.Pretty well the furthest back tee, the back of the back tee. A little

:02:52. > :02:54.help here, Peter. It is a full 222 to the bunker, 233 to the hole. He

:02:55. > :03:16.likes the look of it. Safely on. Sergio playing with Justin Rose, the

:03:17. > :03:18.last pair out. Now to Hoffman, a drop away from the grandstand on the

:03:19. > :03:44.left, third shot to the fifth. It's a big green, but it's a small

:03:45. > :03:48.target. The yardage doesn't fit, it can be a tough spot here. He won't

:03:49. > :04:00.want to take anything off a long iron. It is a 5-iron.

:04:01. > :04:07.Safely on, but you can see it is getting further and further away

:04:08. > :04:08.from the hole. Treacherous for about 20 yards, very difficult to get it

:04:09. > :04:27.stone dead. So easy to drop a shot. Hoffman, par putt on the way. Oh...

:04:28. > :04:32.It looked good! He thought he had it. A dropped shot here at five,

:04:33. > :04:36.moving Hoffman back to for Rhondda now. Four shots off of Sergio's

:04:37. > :04:44.lead. HAZEL IRVINE: You remember the

:04:45. > :04:48.exploits of Matthew Fitzpatrick here last year in his first professional

:04:49. > :04:53.start, he was tied for seventh. What a start it was. He will have two

:04:54. > :05:00.settle for a 4-over total today after a nice round today of 70.

:05:01. > :05:07.Let's hear his thoughts. Two under today, what was it like

:05:08. > :05:10.out there? It was better today. Obviously, the flags are pretty

:05:11. > :05:15.traditional on a Sunday. Everyone knows where they are, I have learned

:05:16. > :05:18.a lot from last year. So you know where to hit it on the fairways and

:05:19. > :05:24.on the greens. That experience helps.

:05:25. > :05:29.This is your third appearance at the Masters, and it is a cliche people

:05:30. > :05:32.use, learning from every experience, so is there anything in particular

:05:33. > :05:38.from these four rounds that you will take away with you? The big thing

:05:39. > :05:42.around here, you have got to chip the ball incredibly well, it is

:05:43. > :05:47.really important that you have fresh groups before you play here, because

:05:48. > :05:51.once the greens dry out, it becomes really tough. I think it is really

:05:52. > :05:54.important to get your pitching numbers really good, and you're

:05:55. > :05:58.chipping in general. A word on what might happen at the

:05:59. > :06:03.top of the leaderboard later today, any idea of how low the guys at the

:06:04. > :06:11.top could go? Definitely low. The pins out there are there to go out.

:06:12. > :06:14.There are some nice ones to make birdies, don't get me wrong, there

:06:15. > :06:18.are tricky once, but if you play smart to them, you take par and push

:06:19. > :06:19.on from there. Thanks for coming in. Well done

:06:20. > :06:31.today. Thank you. COMMENTATOR: Martin Kaymer at the

:06:32. > :06:36.15th, straight up the hill, a great run by and he has done it again. He

:06:37. > :06:39.has been a birdie machine for the last hour, our and a half. But he

:06:40. > :06:45.started too far back. Eagle putt on the way for Phil

:06:46. > :07:11.Mickelson on 13. Not going to happen this year for

:07:12. > :07:22.Phil. He has three jackets in his locker at the moment. Out in 38, he

:07:23. > :07:28.dropped a shot, one birdie on the way home "Not my day..."

:07:29. > :07:37.I tell you what, if Justin Rose gets down in two from here, a chance at

:07:38. > :07:47.the 2nd missed from less than a yard. A monster putt, speed is

:07:48. > :08:02.important. So important. We talk about Seve 's birthday, it

:08:03. > :08:04.is my daughter and her son's birthday, too. I wonder if they will

:08:05. > :08:24.stay up and listen to grampa. Not too hard to four putt from this

:08:25. > :08:32.range if you just get it a bit wrong, get a bit too excited.

:08:33. > :08:39.Turning a bit early. Not high enough, not quite hard enough. 7-8

:08:40. > :08:52.feet away. 5th hole, Rickie Fowler, second

:08:53. > :08:55.shot. Big difference. The first cut on the shorter grass. He's let go of

:08:56. > :09:03.it. Write down there where Charley

:09:04. > :09:08.Hoffman was, he hit his free drop and had at ethical little pitch back

:09:09. > :09:10.up that hill. A pretty high slope, a good five feet above him. Spieth

:09:11. > :09:53.now. Plenty of room past the flag here at

:09:54. > :10:07.seven. That will follow in. Oh... Settle. APPLAUSE

:10:08. > :10:14.Sergio, keep it up, left. A bit high, a bit hard. Tailed away and

:10:15. > :10:24.coming down. That's nicely done. You don't really hold many putts at that

:10:25. > :10:30.length on these greens at Augusta. On the sick, all the way on the far

:10:31. > :10:36.right side, 187 yards. No room for error here. It has to be perfect.

:10:37. > :10:46.Will it stay? Yes, and that's a terrific shot!

:10:47. > :11:00.Charley's not done yet. You never know. Now, this is, you feel this

:11:01. > :11:04.has to go in for Justin. You can't miss these. That's a bit of a daft

:11:05. > :11:08.thing to say, really, because you never know what will happen, someone

:11:09. > :11:12.could do what ever, whatever. But you really don't want to be dropping

:11:13. > :11:14.shots are necessary, a bit of a white tee shot here at a fourth,

:11:15. > :11:26.which is a difficult par-3. A great sigh of relief as that goes

:11:27. > :11:39.in. A good putt, well struck. Four pars for Rose.

:11:40. > :11:56.Paul Casey, third shot at the 8th. Right on the front of the green. It

:11:57. > :12:00.might come back. I'm not sure if he planned that. He'll take it.

:12:01. > :12:10.APPLAUSE You have got to control the

:12:11. > :12:15.controllable is at Augusta National, the bounce of the ball is not always

:12:16. > :12:27.something you can control. Back to McIlroy at nine. Hole sitting on

:12:28. > :12:31.that middle tier. That will be a tough putt. He will probably have to

:12:32. > :12:40.played at eight feet out on the left. Now, Casey after that, well, a

:12:41. > :12:47.good result on that chip, which was wide and came off the slope. Going

:12:48. > :12:55.along nicely, 3-under. You never know.

:12:56. > :13:03.Justin Rose will be the third engagement to win the Masters, we

:13:04. > :13:08.know the other two. Sergio would be the third Spaniard, we certainly

:13:09. > :13:13.remember Seve Ballesteros and Jose-Maria. Jordan Spieth would be

:13:14. > :13:15.the youngest to win two Masters. Rickie Fowler in search of his first

:13:16. > :13:31.major. If my We don't often get to see this hole

:13:32. > :13:36.from behind off the tee. That is Sergio's tee shot going with a

:13:37. > :13:42.3-wood. He has got to avoid the big bunkers on the left. A very

:13:43. > :13:46.difficult second shot to an unforgiving green. Rickie now trying

:13:47. > :13:52.to pick it back up the slope from where Charley Hoffman was a minute

:13:53. > :14:00.ago. Can he do it better than Charley? It looks like he has. He

:14:01. > :14:04.has. Great touch. That's about all he could hope for from down there.

:14:05. > :14:10.Justin Rose, tee shot at the 5th. Swinging dogleg from right-to-left.

:14:11. > :14:37.Very underestimated hole. Casey now. Tapping this in for his

:14:38. > :14:43.birdie at the 8th. In she goes. One, two, three birdies and 3-under par.

:14:44. > :14:53.Spieth up the hill on five. This would be a great birdie. Look at it

:14:54. > :14:59.though. Settle. Those will give you grey hairs at an early age,

:15:00. > :15:03.especially round here. Now, Charley Hoffman, the forgotten man. Nobody

:15:04. > :15:08.has mentioned him on their local TV this morning. They thought he

:15:09. > :15:10.wouldn't figure. So far, nothing happening for Charley. But he is not

:15:11. > :15:22.1 million miles behind. Oh, Adam Scott, he has hit some

:15:23. > :15:27.great putts in the last couple of days that haven't gone in. He has

:15:28. > :15:34.holed plenty. He has hit some beautiful putts just like that.

:15:35. > :15:42.Might have the power to hit this next par 50. Fowler for par at the

:15:43. > :15:51.5th. No, stayed left. Shot dropped. Two

:15:52. > :16:22.bogeys in a row for Rickie. Now then, here's our amateur.

:16:23. > :16:30.Stewart Hagestad is doing very well, this to finish at 5-over.

:16:31. > :16:43.Come on, come on, com on... They don't get much closer than that. A

:16:44. > :16:54.good four days for the amateur. Steady stuff, a couple of 73s, two

:16:55. > :17:03.74s. And he wins the amateur prize, which is always something nice to

:17:04. > :17:09.have on your mantelpiece. "I Was the leading amateur at the Masters".

:17:10. > :17:12.Spieth to clean this up for par at five.

:17:13. > :17:16.Let's see if he looks at the hole. He is looking at the hole. And it

:17:17. > :17:37.just comes around and goes in. Now, Fowler. You all see how

:17:38. > :17:47.carefully, they take a lot of time on these 20 inches. So easy to miss

:17:48. > :18:03.and slip them by. Two bogeys, one birdie, 4-under. Work to do.

:18:04. > :18:11.Rory McIlroy at nine, look how much break he's playing here. This is

:18:12. > :18:15.really, really fast. It will swing almost a 90 degrees angle to his

:18:16. > :18:23.right. Not quite 90 degrees, but always on the fence on a putts like

:18:24. > :18:29.that here, four feet past the hole, it can race 40 yards past the green.

:18:30. > :18:37.He will have two works in real magic on this second nine, Rory will, post

:18:38. > :18:41.a score. He needs to get back in 30, doesn't he. It has been done before

:18:42. > :18:46.a number of times. Bobby Jones, what would he think of speeds of the

:18:47. > :18:52.greens now? I think he'd have something to say. Not all that sure

:18:53. > :18:56.he would be in favour of them being quite so fast and quite so slow.

:18:57. > :19:02.Quite a hard speed to get comfortable on and get used to.

:19:03. > :19:14.Perfect tee shot here at the 5th for Sergio, laying up with 3-wood off

:19:15. > :19:19.the tee. Two shots ahead at the moment.

:19:20. > :19:27.You don't want to miss right here or less, it is one of those ones where

:19:28. > :19:35.you have to go right at it. You have got to fly the right distance.

:19:36. > :19:46.Go! Go! Go! Is it over the ledge? No, it's going

:19:47. > :19:52.to go away, and it's going to roll back 35-40 feet from there. Maybe

:19:53. > :19:57.not. It is going sideways. It could stick. That is a great break, Peter.

:19:58. > :19:59.Another foot and it is down to the front of the green. He will be happy

:20:00. > :20:17.when he sees where that ended up. Justin Rose. Two behind Sergio. 185

:20:18. > :20:21.to go. It doesn't look that far, does it, it looks a little bit

:20:22. > :20:31.further from here Mac. UCB humps and bonds at the front of

:20:32. > :20:34.the green. This is a dangerous hole, it is one where you tell yourself

:20:35. > :20:41.that there is no rule where you have two BP in high. Just get over the

:20:42. > :20:49.ridge that Sergio ran along. He needs a good shot here.

:20:50. > :20:59.A seven? A six? 185. He has 7-iron, but the number he wants is 170 to

:21:00. > :21:05.carry that full is front that Sergio ran along. Just carry that. If used

:21:06. > :21:09.if it, that's a bonus. You just want to get out of here with a good,

:21:10. > :21:14.solid par. A good rhythm. A good-looking swing. Has he got the

:21:15. > :21:21.result it deserved? He hasn't. Bit short. He will go back, then. A

:21:22. > :21:28.devilishly difficult putt from there.

:21:29. > :21:46.Nope. There are all finding it difficult, they're all making

:21:47. > :21:51.mistakes, striking the ball well, Mr had in the distance, taking the

:21:52. > :22:03.wrong club. It is making it very, very difficult. -- misjudging the

:22:04. > :22:08.distance. Hoffman from a long way back. He wants to take the fund

:22:09. > :22:11.bunkers out of play here. -- the front bunkers.

:22:12. > :22:20.That will stick up the top. That leaves him an awkward one from

:22:21. > :22:28.there. Oh, Charley, it's not, my darling. Westwood for par at the

:22:29. > :22:35.8th. Where have you been, Westy? You don't want 15 or 16 for it putts.

:22:36. > :22:43.All is forgiven. Saved the day. Oh, yes. He's still in the fight,

:22:44. > :22:59.you know, the old fella. A big 7-iron for Rickie Fowler here

:23:00. > :23:05.at six. We just saw his playing partner come up short and roll all

:23:06. > :23:10.the way back off the green. If he hits this short, he is begging for

:23:11. > :23:14.it to go, and that has no chance. Another misjudgement. Whatever you

:23:15. > :23:18.want to call it, but they are 25 yards short of the flag. I know it

:23:19. > :23:24.is difficult, but we keep hearing how special they are these days. All

:23:25. > :23:29.the distances, yardages, everything you can think of. Here's Casey, can

:23:30. > :23:33.he do it at the 9th? Second shot, beautiful drive. Nipped it up,

:23:34. > :23:41.hardly touched the grass, skimmed it. It should bite, it does. And

:23:42. > :23:42.sits down. That could have spun back off the green and didn't. Chance for

:23:43. > :23:51.a three. You have got to believe Thomas

:23:52. > :23:57.Pieters is going to get in contention here at Augusta National.

:23:58. > :24:04.Some great experiences. He was under the pressure right out of the gate

:24:05. > :24:12.this week. Terrific golf in windy conditions, a couple of miscues,

:24:13. > :24:17.couple of double bogeys on day one. All the leaders have tricky putts.

:24:18. > :24:22.Ken knows a thing or two about tricky putts.

:24:23. > :24:27.Here he is. Let's look at this putt. Up the slope, pop one up the hill.

:24:28. > :24:35.If you don't quite hit it firm enough, you think, that's not too

:24:36. > :24:41.bad. In, or watch. Slight misjudgement, and you think, someone

:24:42. > :24:49.is taking the Mickey here. My boomerang won't come back... They

:24:50. > :24:58.are so tricky, these greens. And they can make you look a right fool.

:24:59. > :25:04.They certainly can. Justin Rose will be delighted to get down in two from

:25:05. > :25:06.here. We have seen longer ones holed.

:25:07. > :25:19.A bit pacey. Oh, my good God. That is what good, old Henry Cooper used

:25:20. > :25:27.to say. He's knocked it off the green. Perfect position here: Ryan

:25:28. > :25:36.Moore. A couple of stumbles in the last few holes. Six shots off the

:25:37. > :25:43.pace. The ball will follow here. No need to funnel when you land it

:25:44. > :25:50.there. Easy birdie Ryan Moore. Back to Sergio at five, up the hill. He's

:25:51. > :26:01.just watched Justin Rose's Paul Bracewell I. I wouldn't be surprised

:26:02. > :26:09.if this comes up 3-4 foot short. -- watched Justin Rose's ball race by.

:26:10. > :26:17.It is faster than you think. A good teacher from Justin Rose. What a

:26:18. > :26:23.good effort from Sergio. Perfect. Two really good long putts in a row.

:26:24. > :26:32.Sergio's touch on the greens will maybe be the difference maker today

:26:33. > :26:37.for him. Every hole that ticks by, Sergio's just going along nicely.

:26:38. > :26:43.He's had those two birdies. Justin Rose misses a little putt. He's

:26:44. > :26:49.struggling here. Spieth, second shot at six. A skid, but that's got away

:26:50. > :27:01.from him. Spieth's struggling. He'll have to make that to remain

:27:02. > :27:09.3-under par, five back. Charley Hoffman now. Look at this. Putting

:27:10. > :27:15.along the edge of the green. No, no, no, no... So stupid. Ken said

:27:16. > :27:18.moments ago and you can have shot around the greens that make you look

:27:19. > :27:25.silly. Well, that's the sort of thing he meant. This would be a

:27:26. > :27:32.magnificent par save from Justin Rose. He's holed some beautiful

:27:33. > :27:37.putts already today. A fantastic putt at one for par.

:27:38. > :27:48.Not this one. All really set up by the miscued second shot, the mist

:27:49. > :27:53.club with the 7-iron, or slightly mis-hit it, but that was a tough

:27:54. > :28:00.2-putt for Justin. Rickie Fowler from the front of the sixth. Spieth

:28:01. > :28:08.has almost gone to the back of the green. Still leaving an awkward one.

:28:09. > :28:20.Rose finishing off. In she goes a shot dropped.

:28:21. > :28:46.He meant business on that. No doubt. What a beautiful outward half, very

:28:47. > :28:50.clean. Four birdies, no bogeys. Paul Casey now just four back, a position

:28:51. > :28:52.to post. A look at Jordan Spieth for his par

:28:53. > :29:11.on the sixth. Not even close. Surprised by Spieth

:29:12. > :29:15.so far. Adam Scott at eight. Lots of choices here, takes the high route.

:29:16. > :29:25.Not great. But a birdie chance, nonetheless. Adam Scott sitting

:29:26. > :29:33.nicely at 3-under par. He would be entirely unhappy beating Paul Casey

:29:34. > :29:41.at the moment. Fowler rolls it in. He's hanging on at the moment. A

:29:42. > :29:47.couple of shots gone in the last three holes, though. Well,

:29:48. > :29:51.inexcusable for Charley Hoffman not to get his ball to that position in

:29:52. > :29:57.three. That's going to be a double bogey. Really, it may just end

:29:58. > :30:04.Charley's chances now as he drops back to 2-under par, six shots off

:30:05. > :30:08.the pace. Still a long way to go, but the American challenge has not

:30:09. > :30:21.started well on this final day. Spieth to drop just one.

:30:22. > :30:31.Spieth back to two, alongside Hoffman.

:30:32. > :30:39.Not even close. He has hit some great putts that have not gone in

:30:40. > :30:51.and the occasional poor one. You get the feeling Phil Mickelson

:30:52. > :30:55.came out with both barrels blazing, got aggressive on the first nine and

:30:56. > :31:03.made some bogeys. The first six holes here pretty punishing today.

:31:04. > :31:05.What a shot. That might be a sign of what is to come, certainly possible

:31:06. > :31:19.here at 15. See how the leaders handle that in

:31:20. > :31:27.an hour. Westwood's second, up to the ninth. 139 and the pin today, it

:31:28. > :31:37.is front right. What a shot from Westwood. Above the hole but if he

:31:38. > :31:44.rolls that in he will get to 2-under. There is no hiding at

:31:45. > :31:47.Augusta National. Sergio knows he is three shots here. Massive scoreboard

:31:48. > :32:09.is all over the golf course. A really difficult shot to get

:32:10. > :32:18.close. Some access of all -- accessible hole locations. Will it

:32:19. > :32:23.stay? You can watch with us or with the featured groups on the red

:32:24. > :32:27.button. You can watch the 15th, 16th, you can watch Amen Corner. A

:32:28. > :32:58.lot of ways to watch the final round.

:32:59. > :33:07.I remember when he won in 2004, Paul Casey on his debut tied six and

:33:08. > :33:15.waited for Phil Mickelson to congratulate Tim. Rose on the sixth.

:33:16. > :33:21.Can he find a corner? He certainly can. What a shot from Justin Rose.

:33:22. > :33:37.He has been a bit loose, a bit wayward so far.

:33:38. > :33:48.Rickie, 3-wood. The tightest hole on the course. Almost impossible to get

:33:49. > :34:00.it on the green from there. Down into the shadows. Stops behind

:34:01. > :34:27.JP. Three bogeys already today on his

:34:28. > :34:31.card, Jordan Spieth. Must be a strange feeling. Every hole has a

:34:32. > :34:35.bit of movement. This is the only dead straight one.

:34:36. > :34:54.He gets that away well as we go to Schwartzel.

:34:55. > :35:14.This is from the side of the hill. A long way back, as well.

:35:15. > :35:25.That is pretty well done. Vacated the green for the group behind him.

:35:26. > :35:38.He can certainly post a target. Well, are there enough holes? They

:35:39. > :36:01.still have a chance. Come up a bit further. That will be

:36:02. > :36:11.good, but a little bit shy. I say good, it is better than that.

:36:12. > :36:17.Some of the notable names a bit further down the leaderboard. We

:36:18. > :36:25.have seen McIlroy. Matsuyama. Jason Day.

:36:26. > :36:40.We can look at the tee shot on the 11th.

:36:41. > :36:52.Pretty straight. Just blasted. Carries the 300 yard mark no

:36:53. > :36:59.problem, down towards the 350 mark. Rickie Fowler, virtually in jail.

:37:00. > :37:10.Looking as if to hoist it over the pine trees. He certainly got it up

:37:11. > :37:14.sharply. Oh, that was a wonderful shot from Rickie Fowler and it will

:37:15. > :37:21.come back. It really is a miracle to get a shot from over there to go

:37:22. > :37:27.through the gap and over. It is just fabulous. Look how far back he was

:37:28. > :37:37.compared to where Jordan Spieth drove it. Now, Sergio. This will

:37:38. > :37:44.require great touch. He has hit two terrific long putts in a row and

:37:45. > :37:51.that is pretty good. Good leave, straight up the hill. Spieth, dead

:37:52. > :37:59.centre. Ideally go beyond the flag and comeback. Or, do that. Jordan

:38:00. > :38:09.clearly not feeling it today. That is a mis-hit. I don't believe he

:38:10. > :38:13.makes bad decisions, but we do not always hit the sweet spot. You've

:38:14. > :38:20.got to believe that was a little thin. Jordan now in big trouble. We

:38:21. > :38:29.saw the schools, the final pairings. Rose to get one back. He creeps

:38:30. > :38:40.closer to Sergio Garcia. Garcia with a four foot to come.

:38:41. > :38:45.For yet another birdie. That is a terrific par at the 10th, a scary

:38:46. > :39:02.hole, the tenth. You think with his distance and the

:39:03. > :39:06.par-5s, as well... Well, most of the players have the distance, that he

:39:07. > :39:20.will be going in with shortish irons. Garcia, not quite into Match

:39:21. > :39:26.Play situation yet, but this final pairing could get very interesting.

:39:27. > :39:32.I think Justin Rose is just the guys Sergio does not want to have to to

:39:33. > :39:37.stare down. If this were Match Play, you know Sergio Woodberry this putt.

:39:38. > :40:05.-- he would That is pretty impressive. Garcia

:40:06. > :40:11.trying to follow these greats of the game. Seve, the first European to

:40:12. > :40:37.win it in 1980. McIlroy to the heart of the 11th

:40:38. > :40:42.green. Quick screens and quick fairways, as Ken Browne has been

:40:43. > :40:47.discovering. A quirk at Augusta is how they cut

:40:48. > :40:52.the fairway. They cut back to the tee because it makes the course play

:40:53. > :40:58.longer. The grasses combed. This way it looks a little dark and this way

:40:59. > :41:03.with a bit of luck it looks shiny. It makes the course play longer, the

:41:04. > :41:10.ball does not run out so much. I have invented this to measure the

:41:11. > :41:17.speed of the fairways. First of all you have to find a flattish bit of

:41:18. > :41:21.fairway, which is not easy here. I will roll a couple of balls to make

:41:22. > :41:29.sure it is in consistent position. It is going down, so it should be

:41:30. > :41:35.quicker this way. I will mark where we started this from. That is going

:41:36. > :41:45.down the shiny cut. Let's try this way. Consistently start the ball is

:41:46. > :41:53.at the top. See what I mean? That way, the fairways are not as quick.

:41:54. > :41:57.It is a sneaky thing they do. Very few players drive over 300 yards

:41:58. > :42:04.average for the week because of the way they cut the fairways. A little

:42:05. > :42:09.bit of masters magic. I remember when they changed the cut of the

:42:10. > :42:26.fairways. What a shot. What a shot. Justin Rose off the back of that

:42:27. > :42:37.birdie. Par on this every day so far. Beauty, they say, and he

:42:38. > :42:42.agrees. It is not Match Play yet but I feel the advantage for Justin Rose

:42:43. > :42:50.to tee off first now and continue to apply pressure on Sergio. Jordan

:42:51. > :42:56.Spieth, an unforced error at seven. No excuse to come up short with the

:42:57. > :43:01.backstop behind the flag. Struggling for par again. Definitely a birdie

:43:02. > :43:05.hole from where he drove it. He will be kicking himself. That was a few

:43:06. > :43:12.moments ago and this from Rickie Fowler. He just has too sent it out

:43:13. > :43:15.and hope he finds the breaking point. He came up a little bit shy.

:43:16. > :43:35.I'm not shy. -- a lot shy. Shaping up into a

:43:36. > :43:48.two-man battle now, not to minimise the guys back, you know if you draw

:43:49. > :43:51.it back, and missed the fairway wide, you are likely not going to

:43:52. > :43:58.get it on the green. It is not coming back. He needs a break and he

:43:59. > :44:06.does not get one. It goes the opposite direction. He will struggle

:44:07. > :44:10.for par at seven. Just little momentum shifts in this

:44:11. > :44:18.final round. Slipping for the moment away from Sergio Garcia. Garcia

:44:19. > :44:34.closing in on Monte and Westwood, most major starts without a win. --

:44:35. > :44:45.Monty. Spieth now, to save par. He has it. He stays to -- two under.

:44:46. > :44:54.Six behind Garcia, but so much can happen.

:44:55. > :45:09.Rickie, this is just... He is the one guy who hits those putts with

:45:10. > :45:14.such an aggressive attitude. Not that he is hitting too hard, but the

:45:15. > :45:18.confidence with which he strikes the putt is something to behold. He is

:45:19. > :45:24.leading the American challenge. Martin Kaymer to finish.

:45:25. > :45:32.That is a shame. He has never, until this year, fared well at the

:45:33. > :45:39.Masters. But a decent final round will give him his first top 20,

:45:40. > :45:51.probably top 15. Look at the run that ended on the 14th.

:45:52. > :46:05.See if Schwartzel campaign it off at nine. -- can pay.

:46:06. > :46:13.McIlroy, a long birdie attempt on the 11th.

:46:14. > :46:39.HAZEL IRVINE: Fascinating, isn't it, this last night of the Masters?

:46:40. > :46:43.Rose, with a birdie on the sixth, putting the squeeze on Garcia. Paul

:46:44. > :46:51.Casey has leapt up the leaderboard into a tie for third with Rickie

:46:52. > :46:56.Fowler. The vaunted all-American pairing of Fowler and Spieth has

:46:57. > :47:02.made a stuttering start with Jordan Spieth dropping out of the picture

:47:03. > :47:07.here. Meanwhile, Adam Scott, steady, level. Charl Schwartzel also on the

:47:08. > :47:13.boot. Russell Henley on the move, the man who won in Houston last week

:47:14. > :47:20.to guarantee himself a spot in the fields.

:47:21. > :47:28.Lee Westwood, 1-under for his round, but he made five birdies on the

:47:29. > :47:33.bounce on day one. Anything can still happen.

:47:34. > :47:46.A nice bounce back for Hoffman at eight. Tough front nine today. A lot

:47:47. > :47:52.of players are struggling. Nobody really putting the pressure on

:47:53. > :48:00.Garcia. Fowler strikes one on the eighth. I think he was anxious.

:48:01. > :48:08.Getting close to the bunkers, but that is a big hit. That is enormous.

:48:09. > :48:18.Sergio jailed here at seven. You have to decide if the front bunker

:48:19. > :48:23.is the place to be. Maybe the right is better than the front. The same

:48:24. > :48:29.shot yesterday and he came up short of the bunkers, hoping for an

:48:30. > :48:31.upslope, in a similar position. Hoping to get it chasing up to the

:48:32. > :48:43.bunkers. Sergio is a great bunker player.

:48:44. > :48:51.Needs to get the ball that least passed the Shadow in the distance.

:48:52. > :48:56.That was good contact. Yes. I think he has done that on purpose. That is

:48:57. > :49:08.the right decision. Those bunkers are difficult. He is a fabulous sand

:49:09. > :49:10.player. Westwood to save his par on the

:49:11. > :49:33.tenth. Back to even par today. Lee Westwood

:49:34. > :49:40.misses left and right. Justin Rose could not have put it in a better

:49:41. > :49:50.spot. Just hoist it up, at least passed the hole.

:49:51. > :50:03.That is just what you want to do. This has a really good chance.

:50:04. > :50:09.Steady now. OK. The pressure continues to build on Garcia, coming

:50:10. > :50:17.from his player partner. Casey, standing in the pine needles. Over

:50:18. > :50:21.the water. You cannot turn it around too much from right to left because

:50:22. > :50:29.it will take the contours and head to the water, but that is a very

:50:30. > :50:33.good shot from Paul Casey. That is not too bad. Heading towards the

:50:34. > :50:35.water, which will test your nerve, but that could have been worse. He

:50:36. > :50:44.had a narrow channel. Something special must happen here.

:50:45. > :51:07.That is pretty clever. McIlroy, 155 yards to this famous

:51:08. > :51:18.pin position. An easy nine for McIlroy.

:51:19. > :51:26.A bit of an upslope. Options. He does have options. You can try to

:51:27. > :51:31.fit it between the hole and the flag all run it up to the back of the

:51:32. > :51:40.greens. Experience pays dividends here. Going long right, it looks

:51:41. > :51:47.like. Not too far because it could come back well past the hole. That's

:51:48. > :52:02.about right. Gather speed now, go on. Not there. No. Oh, that is a

:52:03. > :52:06.devilishly fast putt. Wanted it to go further up the slope to gather

:52:07. > :52:14.momentum back down. Garcia yesterday. This was a par on

:52:15. > :52:23.the ninth. He had a few putting problems. A good one on six today,

:52:24. > :52:28.which should give him confidence. This is more difficult. He cannot

:52:29. > :52:36.hit it hard. It goes down with such little pace, it wanders around.

:52:37. > :52:51.Charley Hoffman, Wayne left on nine. -- way left. Managed to miss the

:52:52. > :53:07.tree. Oh, my goodness, right on nine. That will run back.

:53:08. > :53:20.Garcia studying this putt. Six feet. Two shots clear. Rose two clear of

:53:21. > :53:25.Fowler. The final group just separating themselves a little bit.

:53:26. > :53:30.Rose in so close. McIlroy needs to find a couple of birdies on the back

:53:31. > :53:35.nine, and then a couple more, and a couple more after that.

:53:36. > :53:50.You know it is not going to be for McIlroy.

:53:51. > :54:00.Charley Hoffman's playing partner Ryan Moore. Some great shots into

:54:01. > :54:04.the ninth green already today. That will go all the way off the green,

:54:05. > :54:22.I'm afraid. Garcia, just a light touch and he

:54:23. > :54:29.has it. So Garcia, a clenched of the fist, catches the right edge. Keeps

:54:30. > :54:38.a bogey off the card and keeps himself two clear. Rose with the

:54:39. > :54:46.short birdie putt to come. He was trying to avoid the two shot swing.

:54:47. > :54:50.That putt was huge. He was at the mercy of all the footprints. Look at

:54:51. > :55:02.it, just wiggling around. My goodness. Huge that went in.

:55:03. > :55:08.Justin Rose breathing down Sergio's neck and the chance to get within

:55:09. > :55:21.one. He has played this hole perfectly.

:55:22. > :55:29.Has it. Rose closing in again on his playing partner. To within one.

:55:30. > :55:37.Europeans first and second and three clear of the rest, now. They are

:55:38. > :55:52.friends, they are, today, though, fierce rivals. It is becoming like

:55:53. > :55:58.the Ryder Cup, like Match Play. You see how determined Sergio is. The

:55:59. > :56:00.walks between tees and greens. Excruciating. Casey has to play this

:56:01. > :56:18.just right. You know they aren't going to be out

:56:19. > :56:26.here for and a half hours or so, but a minute and a half of emotion.

:56:27. > :56:33.These guys have been talking to each other? Are they in a world of their

:56:34. > :56:39.own? They are such good friends, it is hard to know but I personally

:56:40. > :56:55.would not be talking much. Casey for par.

:56:56. > :56:59.Such a good position going into the back nine, but the shot goes on the

:57:00. > :57:18.11th. Back to 3-under. That is pure magic by Rickie Fowler.

:57:19. > :57:24.You can't teach that. You learn that one on your own.

:57:25. > :57:33.Side-by-side, but... Going through their own things, their own emotions

:57:34. > :57:43.in their head. Both can beach here if they hit good tee shots. Anything

:57:44. > :57:54.in the sand will eliminate your chances of getting there in two.

:57:55. > :58:04.We will go to Adam Scott, trying to save par on the tenth. Not a

:58:05. > :58:12.convincing putt. He will slip back to two.

:58:13. > :58:31.Three par-5s left and the tee shots are critical. There is pine straw

:58:32. > :58:37.over there. That is OK. He will be able to reach but I doubt he will

:58:38. > :58:41.get on the green from there. Spieth, who is fast running out of

:58:42. > :58:48.contention, but can he find birdie here? Again, that was not close on

:58:49. > :59:08.the eighth. There was a loud roar from

:59:09. > :59:39.somewhere. Oh, absolutely bombed it. Look at it

:59:40. > :59:43.run away. Sort of uphill for the second half of that drive. He will

:59:44. > :59:49.have no trouble in getting home in two from there. Peter Alliss is

:59:50. > :59:54.back. Exciting stuff, even though it is untidy at times. Nine holes

:59:55. > :59:57.coming up and it all starts on the tenth tee on Sunday afternoon, they

:59:58. > :00:23.said. What about this one,? These little

:00:24. > :00:27.hollows were cut out by Jack Nicholas, who had a hand in

:00:28. > :00:33.designing this part of the golf course. Jon Rahm, it just to give

:00:34. > :00:39.you an idea of how slick it is, it will accelerate as it comes off the

:00:40. > :00:47.bottom of the slope. Has he? Oh, my goodness! Give him another 50 balls

:00:48. > :00:52.and he wouldn't do that! One minute, players are in the heights of gloom,

:00:53. > :01:01.the next minute, total ecstasy. That's like having Christmas on

:01:02. > :01:04.fourth July. You don't expect, you hope to get down in two, please

:01:05. > :01:19.don't take four, and it goes in. Going through 84 different emotions,

:01:20. > :01:26.there. Look at him. Oh! 22-year-old young Spaniard. We go to the ninth,

:01:27. > :01:31.Charley Hoffman. He will be delighted to have made a

:01:32. > :01:52.par. Casey at the 12th. Looks like a

:01:53. > :02:03.9-iron. He does strike the ball beautifully when he is in full flow.

:02:04. > :02:08.Good one. Dropped a shot at the last hole, but a couple of par fives

:02:09. > :02:16.coming up. Setting up for a little drawer shot down the ninth, Rickie.

:02:17. > :02:23.A lot of hang time, and also gives the ball a run out a little bit.

:02:24. > :02:24.Landing on the little plateau, not scooping down as far as it often

:02:25. > :02:36.does, but OK. McGirt playing with Rahm. This was

:02:37. > :02:40.his fourth shot. That is not far away.

:02:41. > :02:48.What did I tell you?! They're making a mockery of the game, deciding not

:02:49. > :03:06.to putt at the 13th, and why not?! HAZEL IRVINE: Martin Kaymer gloves

:03:07. > :03:11.the Masters today after a round of 68, and he is heading for his best

:03:12. > :03:17.finish ever here, never cracking the top 30, currently in a tie the 16.

:03:18. > :03:19.Look at his run from nine to 13. That is how you face down Amen

:03:20. > :03:29.Corner, let's here from him. The tenth appearance at Augusta, and

:03:30. > :03:34.the first time you have broken 70, any particular reason why you have

:03:35. > :03:38.got the hang of it now? The second round, I played really, really well.

:03:39. > :03:43.And today was one of those things, the front nine didn't go my way. I

:03:44. > :03:47.needed to stay patient. Some shots were a tiny bit of, and it was

:03:48. > :03:51.difficult to make up and downs on the back nine. It went my way and,

:03:52. > :03:56.all of a sudden, you collect birdies. The back nine is the golf

:03:57. > :03:58.course where you can get it and score.

:03:59. > :04:02.Give us an idea of what you think might happen with the guys at the

:04:03. > :04:05.top of the leaderboard on the back nine today, and how aggressive they

:04:06. > :04:09.can be. The pins are very approachable. They are in decent

:04:10. > :04:16.positions. The only tough one is 14. Even their Mac, you can use the back

:04:17. > :04:20.stock, everything funnels down. You can shoot 4-under or 5-under par, it

:04:21. > :04:26.is just a matter of how brave you are mentally. If you are leading, or

:04:27. > :04:31.if you are a few shots behind in a major Championship, it's always the

:04:32. > :04:35.nerves that play a big role. If you want to win it, you have to be brave

:04:36. > :04:38.enough to go for it. A European winner, perhaps? We hope

:04:39. > :04:44.so, yes. Thank you for your time.

:04:45. > :04:56.COMMENTATOR: Two time major winner, Martin Kaymer. This could finish

:04:57. > :05:03.close. You are unsupported. Banks left and right. A little unlucky,

:05:04. > :05:05.but not a bad leave. Wanted to chase, really. He took anion.

:05:06. > :05:17.Landing soft. Chipping up the slope of the green,

:05:18. > :05:21.it is an inviting little chip. Casey has hardly missed a shot, holing

:05:22. > :05:32.some delicious putts on the front nine. Element you saw what happened

:05:33. > :05:38.with Kaymer, he had 4-5 birdies in a row, a round of 68. This is a fairly

:05:39. > :05:46.straight putt. So much depends on the speed of the putt. Casey's going

:05:47. > :05:48.to pop this in, and with a birdie at the next, he could frighten them a

:05:49. > :05:56.bit. Never running at it, always a little

:05:57. > :06:11.tentative, but that's a three. He's got to squeeze an eagle from

:06:12. > :06:20.somewhere. Fowler, you can see what faces Rickie Fowler, pinned on the

:06:21. > :06:21.front, a 3-step green. Come up short and the ball comes back to you.

:06:22. > :06:31.Oh... The margins are small, but that was

:06:32. > :06:44.6-7 yards shorter than it ought to have been. Big Augusta wind. The

:06:45. > :06:56.Augusta wind, oh! No one said it would be easy.

:06:57. > :07:07.I'm waiting for it to Hubble and bubble and start really boiling like

:07:08. > :07:14.a golfing cauldron. Do you think it is going to happen? I hope so.

:07:15. > :07:18.Perfect angle to get to the flag today for Ryan Moore, 162 yards

:07:19. > :07:24.left. You have got to feed it in from the

:07:25. > :07:30.right. Justin Rose, a little pitch up at

:07:31. > :08:02.the 8th. The flag is ten paces on and five

:08:03. > :08:06.from the right. Not an awful lot of room. Just float it up. A hard

:08:07. > :08:23.bounce and no check. Funny bounce there. A little high

:08:24. > :08:32.point there. You have two flip it up and get it to stop quickly. Howells

:08:33. > :08:39.Rickie going to play this? Let it chase up the little slope, you must

:08:40. > :08:50.not leave it short again. Just far enough. Just like Charley Hoffman. A

:08:51. > :09:00.straight putt for his par. Westwood at the 11th. This for a three.

:09:01. > :09:16.Looking good. Oh... So near, so near. This is

:09:17. > :09:18.interesting. I thought he would chip this. A 3-wood runner, aiming down

:09:19. > :09:29.the right. Maybe didn't have a very good lie.

:09:30. > :09:33.Sometimes it can settle down, otherwise he would definitely have

:09:34. > :09:42.chipped it. By his standards, that was very clumsy, very heavy-handed.

:09:43. > :09:53.Can't afford mistakes. But a good putt. Look at Spieth, I think he hit

:09:54. > :09:57.it with the shadow of the putter. It is getting closer, getting closer,

:09:58. > :10:01.getting closer... Would you believe it? Great putt there. Great judgment

:10:02. > :10:04.down the hill. Remember, Tiger opened up here, 40.

:10:05. > :10:27.So much can happen. Schwartzel, second to the 11th. If

:10:28. > :10:31.his tee shot was down there, it was a massive tee shot. A good angle,

:10:32. > :10:36.this, if you drive down the left side, because you hit across the

:10:37. > :10:42.water, parallel with it. Fowler up and in. A battling four at the 9th,

:10:43. > :10:47.out in 36. Now, Justin Rose after that heavy

:10:48. > :11:25.sanded pitch up. This four. Yes. Now, have at Westy, Sergio. Birdies

:11:26. > :11:29.at six, seven and eight four Rose. Only just made it. It looked like it

:11:30. > :11:37.would tail off to the right and just fell in. As long as it reaches the

:11:38. > :11:45.bottom. That was a very, very good four. Sergio putting along a similar

:11:46. > :11:50.line. He had a sneak preview. A little more across the slope than

:11:51. > :11:57.down it. The left edge with a bit of authority, or just outside the left

:11:58. > :12:05.edge if you are going to go for the tickler.

:12:06. > :12:21.We will have two weight until the end of the row to see what he played

:12:22. > :12:44.the 3-wood shot from there. What the gallery, tiptoeing, in she

:12:45. > :12:52.goes. Is that the shot that wins the day, Ken? We will have to wait a

:12:53. > :13:04.couple of hours to see. Rose and Garcia now three ahead of the pack.

:13:05. > :13:17.Rory McIlroy pitches it onto the plateau, his third at the 13th.

:13:18. > :13:29.Beautifully judged. He must be disappointed, Peter. Yeah, another

:13:30. > :13:37.year has gone by and he's not done it. Casey drives, could go straight

:13:38. > :13:44.on into the woods. He's turned the corner, with a nice bounce. Just off

:13:45. > :13:54.the fairway. Tricky one. Westwood, 12th tee.

:13:55. > :14:08.That could be awkward. He might just get away with it.

:14:09. > :14:12.Casey, big tee-shot, coming out of the light cut of rough, they call it

:14:13. > :14:18.here the second cut of rough. You have got to favour the left of

:14:19. > :14:29.the pin. Well done, Paul. For where the flag was yesterday, it

:14:30. > :14:36.wouldn't take much more, no. Rose at the 9th, drifting off to the

:14:37. > :15:16.right a bit. OK. Popular putters at the moment, the

:15:17. > :15:24.spider putter. Into the cup. He has birdied the last few holes.

:15:25. > :15:48.He's picked his tee up pretty quick, like most of his tee shots, Peter.

:15:49. > :15:59.Yeah, good drive, straight down the hill.

:16:00. > :16:12.Perfect angle to get at this tenth pin. Charley, oh...

:16:13. > :16:19.A couple of feet ago, you might have thought that would catch the left

:16:20. > :16:28.edge. To over for his round, minus two. Six behind. Mickelson. APPLAUSE

:16:29. > :16:43.Winding up with a 72, steady but nothing sensational.

:16:44. > :16:49.You can see how far left he is aiming, just over a yard left. Is it

:16:50. > :16:55.enough? I'm sure it is. This to go to 3-under. And he does.

:16:56. > :17:18.Having a very good masters. He can certainly do it on the par

:17:19. > :17:22.fives relatively easily. They do offer chances. Rickie Fowler on the

:17:23. > :17:28.tenth tee. Every draw shot, he has gone with a 3-wood. Little easier to

:17:29. > :17:39.shake the ball from right to left with a 3-wood. And that is perfect.

:17:40. > :17:40.-- shape the ball from right to left.

:17:41. > :17:46.HAZEL IRVINE: The first European pairing to lead the Masters into the

:17:47. > :17:49.final round, Ryder Cup team-mate, Rose and Garcia locked at 6-under

:17:50. > :17:56.par two hours ago. And it was Sergio that struck first and fast. His iron

:17:57. > :17:59.play sharp from the off as it has been so often. This is his second

:18:00. > :18:06.from the first. From there, and opening birdie. 7-under. The

:18:07. > :18:10.37-year-old Spaniard in his 74th career major over the last 21 years

:18:11. > :18:18.put further daylight between himself and the Olympic champion, Rose.

:18:19. > :18:24.Another short picked up. He was three in front when Rose made a

:18:25. > :18:28.bogey. Rose struck back at the 6th, and with Sergio Brock in the trees

:18:29. > :18:35.at the 7th, Rose took his chance. This is his second to the green.

:18:36. > :18:39.Justin came so close to winning the green jacket two years ago applying

:18:40. > :18:43.the pressure on the Spaniard, because that would be back-to-back

:18:44. > :18:52.birdies, to get back within one shot of Sergio at 7-under par. Such a

:18:53. > :18:59.strong mindset. And 36-year-old Rose would make it three in a row, birdie

:19:00. > :19:03.at the long par-5, 8-under. Sergio missed his birdie at ten, again

:19:04. > :19:14.locked together, just as they started two hours ago.

:19:15. > :19:26.COMMENTATOR: Terrific stuff. Ricky with a perfect tee-shot. He has hung

:19:27. > :19:34.it right a idyll. That is a great position, it will gather right up to

:19:35. > :19:39.the hole side. Go on. -- hung it right a little.

:19:40. > :19:46.He's left himself a curly putt, but a decent chance.

:19:47. > :19:56.Justin Rose at the 9th, second shot. Flat lie.

:19:57. > :20:03.Dangerous second shot. Looks easy enough, flag on the front of the

:20:04. > :20:10.ring, but if you are short, they come back down the hill. If you are

:20:11. > :20:15.too file, they stay. A monstrously difficult putt to judge. It has

:20:16. > :20:28.stuck. A huge tee shot from Garcia, nearly

:20:29. > :20:34.down on the flat. Putting the pressure on Justin Rose. You have

:20:35. > :20:38.got to pitch this at least by the flag. Anything short of that and it

:20:39. > :20:43.digs in, you can see the bluff at the front of the green and it will

:20:44. > :20:44.come back to you. Not spinning too much, a slightly lower flight. 118

:20:45. > :20:59.left. That's it. That's magic. So I'm

:21:00. > :21:04.lucky it doesn't come back more than that. A little bit unlucky, Ken.

:21:05. > :21:17.Westwood at the 12th. Remember, he was on the edge of the

:21:18. > :21:24.bunker at the back of the green. Too heavy-handed, but in she goes. Saves

:21:25. > :21:54.the day. The wide fairway, will it hold on?

:21:55. > :21:59.It probably will. Driving down the left is slightly easier than driving

:22:00. > :22:04.down the right to that left pin. Schwartzel's tee shot at the 12th.

:22:05. > :22:30.He is 4-under now. That's good. Casey to get to 5-under. This for

:22:31. > :22:33.illegal. It will tiptoe down the slope. I think he kind of likes

:22:34. > :22:47.this. I don't think he could have hit that

:22:48. > :23:01.any softer, do you? 5-6 yards past, a shake of the head.

:23:02. > :23:06.This takes a bit of pitching. He's got it, you know... How did that

:23:07. > :23:18.stay out? Jeepers! It just seemed to be curling

:23:19. > :23:24.perfectly. Look where it has finished, to the right of the hole

:23:25. > :23:30.way he was putting from. Casey on the fifth. This for a birdie.

:23:31. > :23:41.On the 13th, and he has parted so beautifully from that range. Two

:23:42. > :23:50.shots onto the green, and three more to get down. Only a par. What about

:23:51. > :24:01.this one, Ken? Watch the line. 25 feet long, but putting it to the

:24:02. > :24:12.left. Nicely judged. Just tiptoes along, doesn't make any

:24:13. > :24:23.silly errors, Justin Rose. He gives nothing away. A pro-'s pro. It looks

:24:24. > :24:28.like Matt Kuchar, to wander, second shot to the 14th.

:24:29. > :24:40.He's like a cash machine, old Matt Kuchar. Every week, gets a nice fat

:24:41. > :24:42.cheque with shots like this. This is why he gets a good paycheque every

:24:43. > :24:52.week. Goes to 3-under. Now a chance format or here. Sorry,

:24:53. > :25:04.Garcia. This would make a statement. Too

:25:05. > :25:16.wide. You can have an excuse for missing

:25:17. > :25:30.that, devilishly difficult down there. It really is. Two fours.

:25:31. > :25:36.It looks like they are both going to have the same score on the front

:25:37. > :25:38.nine, but you feel like Rose is slightly more on the up. Sergio and

:25:39. > :25:59.edging to keep on an even keel. He's obviously a little concerned

:26:00. > :26:03.about this putt. It's a bit further than I thought. It's maybe a good

:26:04. > :26:23.yard, may be a bit less. Well done. Interesting grip. You

:26:24. > :26:50.could play the flute with that, put your fingers on, blow and you have

:26:51. > :26:58.got a June. -- a tune. Two fours and on they go. 8-under par. Both out in

:26:59. > :26:59.34, but Sergio got the fast start. Rose got the fast finish on the back

:27:00. > :27:21.nine. Very nice. One or two decent walks,

:27:22. > :27:30.the tenth to the 11th just gives you a bit of thinking time.

:27:31. > :27:38.Bit of a walk to the tenth. It used to be the first. Drive over the top

:27:39. > :27:46.of the hill into the wide, blue yonder. Ken's been out and about,

:27:47. > :27:50.showing us how he leave this course is. You would be surprised.

:27:51. > :27:56.I can't the number of times I have been asked about the slopes at

:27:57. > :28:02.Augusta. Number nine, it is a 100 foot drop to the putting surface. I

:28:03. > :28:08.am in the driving area, and I hope this demonstration will give you an

:28:09. > :28:13.idea how steep the slopes. One, two, three electors will they run down?,

:28:14. > :28:17.on, boys. I hope this gives you an idea of the steepness of the slopes.

:28:18. > :28:23.Some are really deep. Come on, boys. Keep coming. Some really steep

:28:24. > :28:29.gradients, not only on the fairways, but on the greens. Well done. That's

:28:30. > :28:33.absolutely spot on. Some of them are mighty steep, viz slopes. -- these

:28:34. > :28:42.slopes. Ken, Ken, you weave your magic

:28:43. > :28:53.words. Justin Rose, can he weave a magic drive? To the right. Can he

:28:54. > :29:00.get a bit of draw? 3-wood. Has he got it to turn? Anxious, anxious,

:29:01. > :29:08.anxious... Off the fairway, sticking there. Leaving him a long second.

:29:09. > :29:16.Sergio also with a 3-wood. A little bit of twist and turn. Twist and

:29:17. > :29:25.shout, turn it and chase it down that hill.

:29:26. > :29:37.He has pushed it, has he? If you push it, you miss the downslope.

:29:38. > :29:41.This is completely the wrong angle to get to the flag from. On top of

:29:42. > :29:50.the hill, miles away. That is a massive comparison as to

:29:51. > :30:12.how they played this second nine. Welcome back, Paul Azinger. Thank

:30:13. > :30:18.you, Peter. Matt Kuchar. It is a gimme. No other place in the world

:30:19. > :30:29.when that walk can affect you from nine green to Twenty20. I wish we

:30:30. > :30:42.had heart monitors on the player. -- to tee ten. That is in the lap of

:30:43. > :30:51.the gods. Still charging down the hill, through the spectators. I

:30:52. > :31:00.think it has come to rest by the fellow with the red shirt.

:31:01. > :31:08.He can drum up magic with his power, Thomas Pieters. Hundred and 78 yard

:31:09. > :31:20.second shot. It is a real beauty. That to get to 5-under. A big

:31:21. > :31:28.difference in the feeling the chaser has versus the guys out front. They

:31:29. > :31:37.have to control their nerves and mind. You have chances, particularly

:31:38. > :31:43.the two par-5s, but they are not the easiest. They are spectacular holes.

:31:44. > :31:49.They are not without risk. You've got to get by ten, 11 and 12 and

:31:50. > :31:53.then the scoring can begin. He has been enormously lucky, Fowler. He

:31:54. > :31:59.has gone right through the crowd. I don't know how he found this spot.

:32:00. > :32:11.There must be some relatives in the crowd, it is amazing. Look at this.

:32:12. > :32:13.Oh, well, I suppose it would have been asking too much if it had

:32:14. > :32:31.stopped and he putted it. Got to fly through otherwise the

:32:32. > :32:37.ball will come back off the green. Get it to feed. Careful now. That is

:32:38. > :32:48.a big mistake, big mistake by Paul Casey. So nearly a super shot and

:32:49. > :32:55.now you are faced with... So difficult to get down in two from

:32:56. > :32:59.there. That is the view from behind the tenth green. Final per stuck on

:33:00. > :33:04.the top of the hill. They did not get the bounce down the hill Ken

:33:05. > :33:06.Brown were showing earlier. A long way back. It looks a relatively

:33:07. > :33:24.small target from here. A long iron. Certainly taking time. A lot of

:33:25. > :33:27.concentration. Sergio is giving it his maximum effort in all

:33:28. > :33:48.departments. 225 to the front of the green. 251

:33:49. > :33:57.total. It's all right, got your name on your bag, you are allowed to back

:33:58. > :34:01.off. Poor tee shot now makes par more difficult for Sergio useful --

:34:02. > :34:20.Sergio. Rose has the momentum. Got to hit this just right to carry

:34:21. > :34:23.it as far as he needs to. Likely a 4-iron, maybe a five. 251 to the

:34:24. > :34:36.hole. This is two shots in a row he has

:34:37. > :34:41.let go off will stop this is where he hit it the other day. That could

:34:42. > :34:49.be fatal right there. I don't think he is in the bushes. He is stuck in

:34:50. > :34:51.the pine needles, I think. Thomas Pieters after that great shot. This

:34:52. > :34:58.to go to 5-under. Just to hide. -- too high. You think you're green

:34:59. > :35:27.s are fast? Well, it will depend on the lie. I

:35:28. > :35:34.bet he would not trade with Sergio for anything. He has a lot of

:35:35. > :35:38.options. A simple pitch back up the hill. I say simple, but in these

:35:39. > :35:45.situations, really, nothing is simple. Sergio, you are right, in

:35:46. > :35:58.the straw, but isn't that a well-placed tree? Good grief. Almost

:35:59. > :36:04.right behind it. Pieters' ball, it has gone ten feet past. Oh, well

:36:05. > :36:11.holed. That is a very good putt. My word. Old stone face. Or, young

:36:12. > :36:20.stone face. Just over the green at 11, Rickie

:36:21. > :36:39.Fowler's third. It goes and goes. I believe he made

:36:40. > :36:54.the wrong choice for shot selection. He probably needed to one hop that.

:36:55. > :37:05.A little bit too high and hard. I do not think it will come round. No,

:37:06. > :37:08.that has left him a putt and a half. Wonders why it has not moved. Here

:37:09. > :37:41.is Rory. Boy, that was a long way down. Just

:37:42. > :37:46.an 8-iron. Sergio, I say it is a well-placed tree because it will

:37:47. > :37:51.break a great deal to his left. At this point he does not want to make

:37:52. > :38:00.double bogey. If he makes par, it will feel like birdie.

:38:01. > :38:19.I thought he was going to capitalise on the lie. He didn't.

:38:20. > :38:28.He has to make sure he misses the tree, but if he misses it on the low

:38:29. > :38:34.side, the ball can easily run off the front of the green. Second

:38:35. > :38:40.round, remember what he did, he was better placed. The wind was against

:38:41. > :38:44.him and he blasted it with a fair way wood, pushed it right, into the

:38:45. > :38:57.trees, and it suddenly emerged. There is the tree, on the left. That

:38:58. > :39:05.he is behind today. If he gets it as decent as this, he will be

:39:06. > :39:20.delighted, but I don't think he can. I think he will be hard pressed to

:39:21. > :39:22.get it on the green. Will it hold? It is about as good as he could do

:39:23. > :39:43.from there, I feel. Encouragement for Justin Rose.

:39:44. > :39:51.Normally, this is a simple pitch up. He has everything going pretty well

:39:52. > :39:55.in his favour. Could get a bit of check on it, aim it at the

:39:56. > :40:04.right-hand side, get it within five, feet. He says he has struggled

:40:05. > :40:14.around the greens this week. That is not great, but, in an OK spot. You

:40:15. > :40:23.are a hard task master. That was not too bad, surely. You are a hard man.

:40:24. > :40:30.Schwartzel, for eagle, two putts for a birdie, more like. 25 yards away.

:40:31. > :40:32.Get to the top of the hill and you can bet your bottom dollar it goes

:40:33. > :40:49.past. Well judged. He is a beautiful player. He and

:40:50. > :40:53.Oosthuizen. South Africa have some fine players. Beautiful swingers of

:40:54. > :40:57.the club at the moment, compared to some of the ones who are more

:40:58. > :41:04.consistent, Spieth for an example. More elegant looking players.

:41:05. > :41:38.It is not as easy as all that, I can assure you.

:41:39. > :41:47.Peter, I feel like this is a point in time. You can tell Sergio is

:41:48. > :41:51.leaking oil. B has a long putt for par. This is where the player and

:41:52. > :42:10.caddy relationship pays dividends. It is asking a lot to hole this. It

:42:11. > :42:16.is a long putt. Three, four feet of swing from the left. Good effort.

:42:17. > :42:20.Dropped shot. It was a poor second and he has done well really, to drop

:42:21. > :42:41.one shot. A chance for Justin Rose. First

:42:42. > :42:48.bogey in 19 holes. That is saying something around here.

:42:49. > :42:56.Justin Rose has left himself in the perfect spot to clean up and make

:42:57. > :43:08.par. This would be to take the lead, if he can hole this.

:43:09. > :43:18.He has been rock-steady all day on these. He made that look easy.

:43:19. > :43:24.They both struggled, neither hit very good tee shots. Rose gets his

:43:25. > :43:35.four and is now one ahead. Playing 155 yards, 12th hole.

:43:36. > :44:00.Bunker. Spieth started out with high hopes.

:44:01. > :44:07.Now one under. Has he done better than last year? I inky hows, oh,

:44:08. > :44:12.only just... No, he has not. This is his bete noire, whatever that means.

:44:13. > :44:44.Dear, oh dear. Look what he did last year. Sun was

:44:45. > :44:51.shining, everything going beautifully, shots ahead. He hit it

:44:52. > :44:58.a bit heavy. Not a particularly good strike. Almost identical shot. For

:44:59. > :45:03.some reason, he had his caddy march back 50, 60 yards, thinking they

:45:04. > :45:11.were going to play it from a better position and, by golly, he did it

:45:12. > :45:16.again. Worse, he took a huge did it. Hardly reached halfway across the

:45:17. > :45:23.pond. That was the next one. He put one in the water and up here. He

:45:24. > :45:30.made a right Horlicks of it. He did fight back well. It is confusing

:45:31. > :45:37.where we look at yesteryear, yesterday, for no particular reason.

:45:38. > :45:53.That is in. Schwartzel gets four. He is creeping along nicely.

:45:54. > :46:03.As I alluded to on ten green, I feel it is important now for the player

:46:04. > :46:09.and caddy relationship to develop now with Sergio. Let's watched this

:46:10. > :46:17.first, Thomas Pieters. -- watch. Just off the fairway. He

:46:18. > :46:24.has done it absolutely perfectly. That is a great shot. He is some

:46:25. > :46:30.kind of player. He made double bogeys in that heavy wind.

:46:31. > :46:38.Now, Sergio. Justin Rose, he has hit a good tee shot. Sergio has just

:46:39. > :46:47.dropped a shot. Nothing too untoward happening. He needs a good tee shot.

:46:48. > :46:51.Needs to get a four here at worse. I mean great players do not need

:46:52. > :46:55.lessons, often times they just need reminders. That has gone off into

:46:56. > :46:57.the trees and Sergio in trouble again at he level. Needs to settle

:46:58. > :47:31.down. He likes it. That is why. Friendly

:47:32. > :47:36.position, and that can go in. He has got it! LAUGHTER.

:47:37. > :48:15.Well, well. Well, well, well. The first bit of excitement they

:48:16. > :48:21.have had for a while. Watch this. It would not have happened with a flat

:48:22. > :48:26.green. He missed the hole by a few yards on the right, but it was a

:48:27. > :48:30.good strike. He knew the ridge ran through the middle of the green and

:48:31. > :48:35.if he got the right spot he could end up close. It was never nearer

:48:36. > :48:38.than that and suddenly, it looked odds here. It just kept going

:48:39. > :48:53.beautifully and in. Moments like that are few and far

:48:54. > :49:01.between and to be cherished. Matt Kuchar enjoying it immensely. The

:49:02. > :49:05.putter is betraying Rickie, the last couple of holes. Back-to-back bogeys

:49:06. > :49:25.for Rickie. I wonder how many ones he has had. I

:49:26. > :49:40.don't think any has been sweeter than this.

:49:41. > :49:48.He is going to sign the golf ball. He is not going to give it away, is

:49:49. > :50:09.he, Peter? He is going to give it to someone. Yes. That is fabulous.

:50:10. > :50:30.You know before you hit it, if you can get it up on the right side. He

:50:31. > :50:42.got it just right. What a glorious moment. He is only three back.

:50:43. > :50:48.Remember Schwartzel, finished with four birdies. You never know. You

:50:49. > :50:56.never ever really know. HAZEL IRVINE: You don't. Suddenly

:50:57. > :51:04.Matt Kuchar it is in contention. 5-under for bidet, three behind.

:51:05. > :51:08.There he is in a tie with Pieters. Schwartzel is making his move. It is

:51:09. > :51:40.hotting up around Amen Corner, as it always does.

:51:41. > :51:48.Thomas Pieters, also to get to 5-under and a good, aggressive

:51:49. > :51:54.stroke. Dead centre. Still has 15 to play and 16, where the ball funnels

:51:55. > :52:03.and the ball will funnel close to the hole at 18. A lot of chances

:52:04. > :52:09.left for these guys to make a move. Where has he gone? Short, left?

:52:10. > :52:18.Obviously not need the hole. That is not good. I don't know what happened

:52:19. > :52:23.there. Sergio is in trouble at the top of

:52:24. > :52:32.the hill. They are in the trees. What do you do hear? He has room to

:52:33. > :52:41.squirt it around. Has he? Yes, he has. The best he could do, if he

:52:42. > :52:49.pulls off a small miracle, is to get it in the front right corner towards

:52:50. > :52:56.the green. Maybe 20, 30 yards short. Or if lucky to run it close to the

:52:57. > :53:02.front. But not the place to be. This is a big decision he is making. He

:53:03. > :53:06.has to decide whatever he does is worth the risk. There are mounts to

:53:07. > :53:13.the right and short of the green and if he can get the ball to run along

:53:14. > :53:17.the left side of those, but he cannot put it in the water. You

:53:18. > :53:22.cannot miss left. Get it passed the tree. Keep it out of the water and

:53:23. > :53:43.you can still make par. He has to make sure he keeps the

:53:44. > :53:50.face open. If it turns over, he could play at left into the water.

:53:51. > :53:55.The problem with the water, if you put it in, you have to go to the

:53:56. > :53:57.drop area and pitch back over the top of it. He has to get it past the

:53:58. > :54:11.tree to the right of the pond. There are the mounds we were talking

:54:12. > :54:27.about. Yes, very well played. About all he could hope for.

:54:28. > :54:39.Justin has got to stop thinking, you lucky rascal. They met at the

:54:40. > :54:42.bunker. Right-hand edge of the bunker behind the green on the

:54:43. > :54:49.right, if I can hit it straight there... The flag on the 12th is not

:54:50. > :55:10.a bad line. Need good nerves. On line. Beautiful shot. Absolute

:55:11. > :55:14.gem. That is like a stamp right on

:55:15. > :55:55.Sergio's head. I am not going away. Rory for birdie at 16. Oh, two in a

:55:56. > :56:08.row. Not bad. And there is a happy lad.

:56:09. > :56:29.Oh, finishes in style, well done, Fred. Very nice playing.

:56:30. > :56:47.This is blazing fast. Might go down all the way across the green. It is

:56:48. > :56:54.gone. Nothing more than a wedge. It will cost him big time. Expensive.

:56:55. > :57:06.Can he do it again? Once you get the flavour, you know... Softly. Softly.

:57:07. > :57:18.He likes it. The magic's gone. Flash in the pan. How do you fancy that

:57:19. > :57:19.chilli back. You got carried away by the ad you Laois and of the

:57:20. > :57:23.multitude. -- -- you got carried away with the

:57:24. > :57:38.adulation. This is a hard shot. Then make it

:57:39. > :58:18.look so easy but it is a hard shot. Sergio leaving the flag. Two putts

:58:19. > :58:19.from here would be... Would he feel relieved to get down in two from

:58:20. > :58:35.here. Steady, steady. Slowly it is starting to come undone

:58:36. > :58:41.for Sergio and you have to believe a couple of missed short putts on the

:58:42. > :58:50.first line may be shook him up a little bit. -- first nine.

:58:51. > :58:53.Sergio jumped up to a quick lead. Justin caught him with three birdies

:58:54. > :59:25.in a row on the front. ANDREW COTTER: Casey's third shot.

:59:26. > :59:31.Back up the slope. And across. That is pretty well done. A birdie to get

:59:32. > :00:02.to 3-under. The 18th and Kevin Chappell. A nice

:00:03. > :00:04.finishing 68 for 3-under. Just sneaks inside the top ten. Very

:00:05. > :00:31.nice. Just heard a clip ASBO it caught a

:00:32. > :00:38.tree. And into the water it goes. -- as though it caught a tree. Elegant,

:00:39. > :00:46.perfect posture from Thomas Pieters. Massive tee-shot down the 15th.

:00:47. > :00:52.Absolutely huge drive. They are buzzing in the stands. Some grip on

:00:53. > :01:01.that. A middle to short iron, par-5, the breeze helping. His first outing

:01:02. > :01:05.at Augusta. Scott with a beautiful second shot on the 14th.

:01:06. > :01:22.Garcia for his par. There will be a big roar if this goes in. No.

:01:23. > :01:34.To be fair, that wasn't even close. Maybe the shadows catching him out.

:01:35. > :01:39.Just beginning to get away from him. He went so long without a bogey, 19

:01:40. > :01:44.holes, then two in a row. Suddenly, Ken, this for a three shot

:01:45. > :02:12.lead. The brakes are easy to see, but it

:02:13. > :02:13.is tricky on the back of the 11th to see how much they are going to

:02:14. > :02:23.break. A little isolated on this green, the

:02:24. > :02:27.crowds are a long way away, they can't see the hole. They are waiting

:02:28. > :02:42.for the ball to drop. The patrons behind the 12th.

:02:43. > :02:49.You always take a four at the 10th and 11th. Back to Kutcher, needs a

:02:50. > :03:02.miracle shot here on the 17th. Onto the putting surface. Beautiful

:03:03. > :03:11.contact. Had to get there. Trying to set a target.

:03:12. > :03:19.Pieters, this would put the cat amongst the pigeons. It is not going

:03:20. > :03:25.to turn that much, is it? He will try.

:03:26. > :03:33.Pieters has birdied the 12th, 13th, 14th, and this looks like a birdie

:03:34. > :03:35.at the 15th. Let's have a look at Garcia, then, for his bogey on the

:03:36. > :03:44.11th. In it goes. He's down to 6-under,

:03:45. > :03:48.suddenly. Two behind his playing partner. Then of course, there's

:03:49. > :03:58.Thomas Pieters, a new player in the mix.

:03:59. > :04:04.That was a fantastic tee shot again at the 15th. Getting the ball to

:04:05. > :04:17.grip. There it is, the balcony stalls are full. Magnificent.

:04:18. > :04:47.Lifting a little right. Plenty of oomph on it. On the 15th, going over

:04:48. > :04:57.the water, ideally you want to get onto the fairway. 155 yards to that

:04:58. > :05:04.right pin position. We know there is hardly any wind, but you can just

:05:05. > :05:10.see the flag moving a little bit. Trust that there is not too much up

:05:11. > :05:28.there. 9-iron for Rose, the leader of the Masters.

:05:29. > :05:35.It goes. Aiming over the bunker there, aiming away from the flag. If

:05:36. > :05:38.you go short, you are in the sand. Feeling a little bit cagey. Kutcher

:05:39. > :05:51.to save par. A birdie at the last would be

:05:52. > :05:53.interesting -- Kuchar. Not as interesting as the 16th, mind. What

:05:54. > :06:04.a run. The thing about the 12 is, you

:06:05. > :06:05.either find the green, or you are in some sort of trouble. There's not

:06:06. > :06:14.much in between. Is he bowled or does he take the

:06:15. > :06:18.cautionary route over the centre of that bunker? Fabulous, isn't it,

:06:19. > :06:27.absolutely stunning. Right, it is time to take a deep

:06:28. > :06:54.breath, Sergio. Play your best hand. Creeps over the bunker, safe. Not

:06:55. > :07:00.chasing the pins yet. Two behind. A dangerous game to play at Augusta,

:07:01. > :07:11.as we go to Fowler for his four on the 13th.

:07:12. > :07:17.That stops the rot. He will hope for more further down the back nine.

:07:18. > :07:30.Pieters a contender now. He's a little anxious. He's pulled

:07:31. > :07:37.it a little. Oh... 107 to nine yards, and about eight yards right

:07:38. > :07:45.up flag. It just depends how it lies in the bunker. Over the Hogan Bridge

:07:46. > :07:50.they go to this way sis of calm away from all the spectators. The final

:07:51. > :08:02.group on the final day and Garcia two behind Rose. -- this always is.

:08:03. > :08:07.I am not sure if his mum is here or at home watching.

:08:08. > :08:27.He has got to get the right trajectory to get it to land. Oh...

:08:28. > :08:35.And he was gone. Just coming out of rough comedy had to do something

:08:36. > :08:40.special with it he took the risk and it didn't pay off. Kuchar, a flat

:08:41. > :08:52.swing to the last hole. Suddenly the American flag bearer,

:08:53. > :08:54.Kuchar. They applaud, you thought it was good. And by a couple of yards,

:08:55. > :09:01.it is. First to putt, Garcia. A sliver --

:09:02. > :09:24.sliver of green. Particularly well judged. He knew as

:09:25. > :09:31.he struck it that it wasn't quite firm enough. A mystical silence on

:09:32. > :09:44.this green. No patrons around you. Schwartzel, drop shot on the 14th.

:09:45. > :09:52.Beautiful drive here. A bit tight to the trees down the left. You can

:09:53. > :10:03.take aim at the right half of the green. Two puts -- putts for birdie.

:10:04. > :10:16.I thought that was going to hold its line. Not much break on this, the

:10:17. > :10:31.12th. And he thought he had a chance.

:10:32. > :10:40.If you come up short, you trickle down the bank to the water. Pieters

:10:41. > :10:45.is aiming up the slope here. He will want this to finish just about where

:10:46. > :10:52.Tiger Woods chipped up to in 2005. Is it plugged down there?

:10:53. > :11:08.A good leave. Virtually straight from there. You don't want to miss

:11:09. > :11:17.it on the right. Straight up the hill.

:11:18. > :11:22.You can't afford a dropped shot on this marvellous run. Back to the

:11:23. > :11:58.12th and Garcia, just a tap in. Kuchar come off the upside, hung

:11:59. > :12:06.back on his back foot. Didn't quite get through it.

:12:07. > :12:10.HAZEL IRVINE: Justin Rose, a two shot lead. Thomas Pieters is making

:12:11. > :12:14.up good ground, isn't he. Sergio Garcia there. Adam Scott in the

:12:15. > :12:20.drink at the 15th. And Paul Casey, 3-under through 16. But missing from

:12:21. > :12:28.that first page of the leaderboard is Jon Rahm. And this is why.

:12:29. > :12:35.This is for double bogey at the 18th for the debited from Spain, only 22

:12:36. > :12:40.years of age. And he's pretty upset by that.

:12:41. > :12:46.We will see an awful lot more of this fella. He is a brilliant

:12:47. > :12:55.talent. He's actually managed by Phil Mickelson's brother, Tim, he

:12:56. > :13:06.will be back and winning big things in years to come.

:13:07. > :13:09.COMMENTATOR: Tee shot of Justin Rose on the 13th. Look at that, birdie,

:13:10. > :13:22.birdie, birdie. Hung it out. He has, but he has missed the tongue

:13:23. > :13:30.of rough that comes up, which makes a huge difference on the fairway

:13:31. > :13:33.coming off that pin. Rickie Fowler second shot to the 14th. Further it

:13:34. > :13:58.in from the left. Garcia, beautiful driver. Where is

:13:59. > :14:04.he aiming? I think he is going to try to take it over the trees. He is

:14:05. > :14:09.not a high ball hitter, either. Oh, Sergio.

:14:10. > :14:21.He's going to need a lot of luck here. He said, "Get right a little".

:14:22. > :14:27.He could be in the Queen. No one seems to know where it went. That

:14:28. > :14:32.was a risky shot. Oh, Sergio. Down among the route. He's not in the

:14:33. > :14:36.water, but he's in just as bad a place. That was a risky, risky play.

:14:37. > :14:41.He didn't chase the pin abattoir, but he was chasing ideal position

:14:42. > :14:50.from the tee, didn't make the distance and he has paid the price.

:14:51. > :14:59.Schwartzel if this keeps running down the slope, sit down. Just

:15:00. > :15:07.bumped into a piece of chewing gum. Pretty good. Quiet man, but classy.

:15:08. > :15:18.Pieters for his par. No, no, no. So his run comes to a

:15:19. > :15:21.juddering halt. Rose is getting stronger and stronger. Garcia in

:15:22. > :15:31.trouble. Pieters slipping back. His tee shot makes you so cross,

:15:32. > :15:35.because he has such a margin of error down the right. He wanted to

:15:36. > :15:41.turn it into the back left pin on the 16th. Six holes to go, two shots

:15:42. > :15:47.clear and that lead will shortly grow, you fancy.

:15:48. > :15:57.He seems in comptroller at the moment, Rose. There, the ball of

:15:58. > :16:03.Sergio Garcia. Not too many alternatives to drop. Probably with

:16:04. > :16:09.a two club length get out of the bush, but not an inviting place to

:16:10. > :16:11.drop it. There we are. On that line, he can go back as far as he likes.

:16:12. > :16:27.Not too inviting either. Clearly, three options. As Ken says,

:16:28. > :16:30.you can have two club lengths, no nearer the hole. Back, keeping the

:16:31. > :16:39.position in line with the hole, or back to the tee.

:16:40. > :16:52.He thought it might just clunk into the centre of the flag and find the

:16:53. > :16:58.bottom of the cup. A pretty good week for Rory.

:16:59. > :17:06.So Garcia in all sorts of difficulty on the 13th. Rose in a pretty good

:17:07. > :17:11.position from the tee and two shots clear. Kuchar coming to the end of

:17:12. > :17:17.his run. Thomas Pieters dropping that shot on the 16th. And here we

:17:18. > :17:29.are, the deliberations, the options for Garcia.

:17:30. > :17:40.One option has gone, he can't. I think it is the two club lengths.

:17:41. > :17:54.He will look at that first of all. One, too, so he wants to make sure

:17:55. > :17:59.that if he drops it there, he has a backswing. He will drop it within

:18:00. > :18:13.the two club lengths, and it can roll another two club lengths.

:18:14. > :18:26.Oh, this is such an awful spot. All the time he waits, Justin does a

:18:27. > :18:34.couple of sketches. A bold decision made, you might say, from the tee.

:18:35. > :18:41.Pat a little bit foolish, risky. Looking for a decent lie. If it

:18:42. > :18:44.crosses the hazard line, he can have another go. If he does the same

:18:45. > :18:59.again, he will place it. The grid line marks the length of

:19:00. > :19:07.the natural water hazard. He is there in two. Very dangerous now,

:19:08. > :19:12.picking up loose impediments. It is easy to make the ball roll. He could

:19:13. > :19:16.still escape with a five. Schwartzel for a birdie on the 15th.

:19:17. > :19:41.A few people have chipped from there. Calcavecchia on the final

:19:42. > :19:46.hole. Very nicely judged. Always has a ready smile, Kuchar.

:19:47. > :20:07.Rickie Fowler, quick birdie putt. Maybe an understatement.

:20:08. > :20:15.Kuchar finishes out, 67, joint low round of the day, 5-under par for

:20:16. > :20:18.the tournament. The target is set. It probably won't be enough, but you

:20:19. > :20:23.never know. And a hole-in-one. Looks like he is going to sign the

:20:24. > :20:34.golf ball. Plenty of loft on the club. He will

:20:35. > :20:40.have two it about a corner as best he can. See if he can leave himself

:20:41. > :20:49.a nice little yardage. This is his third.

:20:50. > :21:01.That's pretty good. He's had adventurous times on the 13th that

:21:02. > :21:03.this Masters. That second yesterday just coming up short but staying

:21:04. > :21:14.dry. He's fine, good. Well done, Sergio.

:21:15. > :21:20.He's hit a five, a six and a four on it, which isn't particularly good.

:21:21. > :21:29.Justin Rose has birdied it every day so far.

:21:30. > :21:43.Good looking swing. Well, it's safe and dry, but from bus wail of the

:21:44. > :21:47.back, chipping down towards that pin. Slippery fast -- but from the

:21:48. > :22:05.Swale of the back. Rolls it in. It's probably going to

:22:06. > :22:09.be a top ten finish in the end for Rory McIlroy, but a tale of what

:22:10. > :22:17.might have been at Augusta. No Masters, no Grand Slam completed

:22:18. > :22:25.this year. 72, 73, is the one, 60 nine. -- 60 one, 60 nine.

:22:26. > :22:30.You have got to believe he is going to win the grand Slam one of these

:22:31. > :22:35.years. It is the last little piece of the jigsaw, the Masters. Rose

:22:36. > :22:51.just peering through the sinking sun. Garcia will have a little

:22:52. > :22:56.pitch. His fourth shot shortly. HAZEL IRVINE: Here's how it stands.

:22:57. > :23:01.It looks good for Justin Rose, two shots ahead of Sergio Garcia. Matt

:23:02. > :23:04.Kuchar has posted the best round in the clubhouse over. He is the

:23:05. > :23:09.clubhouse lead after that hole-in-one on the 16th. This is his

:23:10. > :23:13.fourth top eight since 2012. In fact, he is getting much closer. He

:23:14. > :23:19.was tied third as well a couple of years ago when Louis and Barbour

:23:20. > :23:25.played the play-off in 2012. Yet to win a major but always there or

:23:26. > :23:33.thereabouts. -- Bubba. Charl Schwartzel the winner here in 2011.

:23:34. > :23:37.Playing 179 yards. He will know where to aim it. Aiming right of the

:23:38. > :23:50.flag. OK. We haven't seen any people hole it

:23:51. > :23:57.from back there for a two. So, Garcia, his fourth shot.

:23:58. > :24:03.You have got to be careful. If you go straight at the flag, you haven't

:24:04. > :24:09.got to be far wrong to find your ball in the creek. You can use the

:24:10. > :24:27.left slope to work the ball in. Right at it with the floater.

:24:28. > :24:38.Nice shot. He's got that for a par. A bit of break on it from the left.

:24:39. > :24:51.You need such mental strength at this time. Pieters's second. The

:24:52. > :25:05.17th. He's flicked it left. Not by too much.

:25:06. > :25:10.Recorded a few months ago, so his birdie attempt here. -- a few

:25:11. > :25:26.moments ago. It looks, when you look at the

:25:27. > :25:31.screen, as visible pin position. It is on a Christian high spot on the

:25:32. > :25:40.green. Awkward from every angle to putt from, virtually.

:25:41. > :26:11.Charles -- Charl, 15 feet left, he's aiming.

:26:12. > :26:20.This is where it is all happening on the 13th, Rose through the back.

:26:21. > :26:31.Putter the option. Has it? It has. And if it has, it's

:26:32. > :26:37.perfect. It's absolutely perfect, I'm telling

:26:38. > :26:53.you, boys and girls. What touch. Coming out of the little

:26:54. > :27:04.hollow is so difficult. Up the little upslope onto an ice rink.

:27:05. > :27:14.There are times when Augusta punishes mental daisy picking.

:27:15. > :27:25.Walking it down, steering it down, deep breaths. It was a beautiful

:27:26. > :27:31.shot. -- staring it down. Again, he will shuffle aside and watch Garcia.

:27:32. > :27:35.The patrons, the pin on the front of the week, they put it there because

:27:36. > :27:42.it gives the best view for the spectators around the parting green.

:27:43. > :27:44.The largest number can see the pin. Soren Kjeldsen struggles up front

:27:45. > :27:55.slope -- around the putting green. For his par on the 16th. OK, not to

:27:56. > :27:59.be the four birdie finish as he found in 2011, but a birdie on the

:28:00. > :28:15.last two. Garcia for his par. He's got it. He's got it. A terrific

:28:16. > :28:22.par. Keeps himself in the race. A Seve par.

:28:23. > :28:41.From this angle, this putt, there isn't much in it. It is easy to over

:28:42. > :29:02.borrow. Left, left... A glass from Rose and

:29:03. > :29:11.the crowd. That was for a three shot lead. So he pars it. Garcia pars it.

:29:12. > :29:21.Still interesting, heading to the 14th. A real opportunity, there,

:29:22. > :29:25.Ken, to stamp on Garcia. It is a tricky one, because he has a big

:29:26. > :29:30.slope of the green. You can see how fast it was from where he played the

:29:31. > :29:42.original one. You sort of feel it has turned up the slope. APPLAUSE

:29:43. > :29:49.Well, that was a turn up. Par from fives. Garcia might kick him too

:29:50. > :30:01.much blame on. Rose still playing very tidy, solid golf, but a two

:30:02. > :30:03.shot lead might have been four. Paul Azinger coming back in, giddy with

:30:04. > :30:27.excitement. I wonder if we can hear from Rory

:30:28. > :30:37.McIlroy. Getting his thoughts in a few moments. We will head back to

:30:38. > :30:48.the 14th tee. A great view, how beautiful this swing years, Justin

:30:49. > :30:52.Rose. Dogleg left, par-4. That is perfect.

:30:53. > :31:11.Thomas Pieters has not enjoyed this hole so far.

:31:12. > :31:20.He will be thinking, only birdie. Try to get to 6-under.

:31:21. > :31:31.We talked about decision-making at the beginning of the day and I feel

:31:32. > :31:38.like Sergio, for whatever reason felt he needed to take a chance on

:31:39. > :31:50.13. To escape with par, giving him momentum, a psychological boost.

:31:51. > :32:01.They seem suitably impressed. Just heading off the fairway.

:32:02. > :32:11.He might be a man reborn. That is the kind of thing that can turn

:32:12. > :32:17.around, getting away with something on the 13th, when your opponent

:32:18. > :32:30.could not find a birdie. Paul Casey made a run. He stalled a bit. And a

:32:31. > :32:42.good finish. 4-under, tied for six. With Rickie Fowler.

:32:43. > :32:53.Hazel: Rory McIlroy, a failed attempt to tie up the career grand

:32:54. > :33:01.slam. Unlucky, I am afraid. Let's hear Rory's thoughts. How good was

:33:02. > :33:06.your round of 69 today? It was pretty good, it was solid, I did not

:33:07. > :33:18.get off to the start I wanted. It was playing tricky. I thought the

:33:19. > :33:24.course was getable. Filed under was a good score. I took advantage of

:33:25. > :33:28.most of the par-5s. I did not put myself in trouble but did not get

:33:29. > :33:34.the momentum I wanted early and it was a battle for 69 and ultimately

:33:35. > :33:38.not give up. On course for your fourth consecutive finish in the top

:33:39. > :33:46.ten. A lot of golfers would be happy with that. It was nice, a good

:33:47. > :33:51.finish. I was proud of how I handled the conditions the first two days.

:33:52. > :33:57.Yesterday I had an opportunity to shoot something in the mid-60s and

:33:58. > :34:07.it left me too far behind when I did not do that. Thanks. Thank you.

:34:08. > :34:22.HAZEL IRVINE: Sergio Garcia has had tree trouble and on the 13th, a wild

:34:23. > :34:30.one. Trying to carve an advantage. It dropped short anti-would have to

:34:31. > :34:45.take a drop out of there. In typical Seve swashbuckling style, unfazed.

:34:46. > :34:51.Wriggle room at the big par-5. Some great short play skills from Sergio.

:34:52. > :34:57.He is renowned for bows. He is fighting hard, the 37-year-old

:34:58. > :35:02.Spaniard, in his 74th major. Running this one down the slope. With Rose

:35:03. > :35:12.threatening a birdie, he knew he had to make this for par. A clutch putt

:35:13. > :35:19.if ever there was one. His chances of a first Masters title and major.

:35:20. > :35:27.He is still fighting and, as Andrew Cotter said, that is a Seve par.

:35:28. > :35:36.ANDREW COTTER: Thomas Pieters needs a birdie.

:35:37. > :36:04.You never know, Andrew. You just never know. A couple of scary holes

:36:05. > :36:06.left for Justin Rose. Rickie Fowler, has got to make some magic happen

:36:07. > :36:13.right now. You can see the slope of the fairway

:36:14. > :36:56.on the 14th. See the trunk of the pine left of

:36:57. > :37:02.the flag, that is the aim. The key here, you have to get the ball deep

:37:03. > :37:10.into this green. There is a false front that runs across almost dead

:37:11. > :37:16.centre of the screen. If you come up short, it comes way back.

:37:17. > :37:29.It is a 9-iron. Anything past the hole is OK. You cannot be short.

:37:30. > :37:37.Cannot get there with that, he said. He felt a little breeze.

:37:38. > :37:42.There is hardly anything out there at all. Five miles per hour at most.

:37:43. > :37:59.But he just felt something. When a good caddy earns his corn,

:38:00. > :38:16.steps in, reassures. Justin Rose ready to go again.

:38:17. > :38:31.Disbelief again from Rose. It was doing it's best for him, though.

:38:32. > :38:41.No real damage done. If that was at the flag it would have been all the

:38:42. > :38:52.way down off the front. Sergio with an opportunity. That is no easy

:38:53. > :38:58.2-putt for Justin Rose. One of the best iron players in the game today.

:38:59. > :39:08.If ever you need a good one, now is the time.

:39:09. > :39:24.It is good. It is very, very good from Sergio Garcia. Getting better

:39:25. > :39:35.and better. Sergio strikes back. Perhaps the escape, on the 13th, was

:39:36. > :39:42.the lift he needed. They must make for Thomas Pieters. No.

:39:43. > :39:50.Misread, too hard. Got nothing right.

:39:51. > :39:57.Nothing going right for Jordan today. He has not hit the ball well.

:39:58. > :40:08.Mis-hits earlier the round really cost him.

:40:09. > :40:25.5-over for the round. And a smile. The smile of a beaten man. Come on,

:40:26. > :40:33.Thomas. There you go. Quite a tournament, quite a first Masters.

:40:34. > :40:35.This guy right here, he will be around a long time. Fantastic swing,

:40:36. > :40:43.great demeanour. Putts nicely. Birdie birdie finish would be huge.

:40:44. > :41:05.It had the line. Rose from 30 feet or more. The

:41:06. > :41:08.left-to-right. The marker of Garcia glinting near the hole. A little bit

:41:09. > :41:32.high. Something left there. Westwood to finish. Playing

:41:33. > :41:40.alongside Thomas Pieters. 74. Still a top 20 finish. As if that would

:41:41. > :41:49.matter to him. He has flitted in and out of contention in this Masters.

:41:50. > :41:57.On the final day needed far, far better. Great consistency, but not

:41:58. > :42:03.to be this year at the Masters for Westwood. We head back to the 14th.

:42:04. > :42:14.There is a chance here for a two shot swing. Oh, it is a big putt for

:42:15. > :42:26.Sergio Garcia. The fist pump. The determination. At an all-time high

:42:27. > :42:32.for Sergio. He has applied the pressure now to Justin Rose.

:42:33. > :42:45.This is a Garcia -esque reaction. If you said he would be a shot better

:42:46. > :42:47.off after the penalty shot he took in the trees, he would have wondered

:42:48. > :42:59.about your sanity. Justin missed a short one on 13 and

:43:00. > :43:05.this is more tricky than the one he had on 13.

:43:06. > :43:17.This grip is fairly new to him. A confident stroke for Justin Rose. US

:43:18. > :43:19.Open champion, Gold Medal winner, taking a one shot lead to the 15th.

:43:20. > :43:25.A reachable par-5. Within the way, Schwartzel at the

:43:26. > :44:01.18th. -- wiggling. It is not going to be Schwartzel and

:44:02. > :44:24.certainly not speed. Let's seem if he can find a birdie on the 16th.

:44:25. > :44:42.Hurray. Five on the 12th. The Glorious 12th for Spieth. Tee shot

:44:43. > :44:47.on the 15th, Garcia. Not too far down on the left, those trees you

:44:48. > :44:50.can see blocking out, they can block out a second shot. Down the right

:44:51. > :45:11.half, get it to trundle down there. That is pretty good and he has put

:45:12. > :45:16.the pressure on Justin Rose, Sergio. He will reach easily here. Mid iron,

:45:17. > :45:28.maybe even a short iron from down there. That is miles down there.

:45:29. > :45:35.Justin Rose got BT box -- the tee box. Now Sergio's turn to put

:45:36. > :45:57.pressure on Justin Rose. Almost a fade. He browses head and

:45:58. > :46:05.looks not pleased. The driver is fine. Felt some discomfort there. A

:46:06. > :46:13.long way behind Garcia. Just did not look happy after the drive. Garcia

:46:14. > :46:18.chatting to him. I think he is fine. Now Garcia wants a chat. Look at

:46:19. > :46:26.this. An interesting reaction. You get the feeling he may be hit it on

:46:27. > :46:35.the heel a little bit. Maybe scored off to the right. When he went down

:46:36. > :46:50.to get his tee he looked a little tender. It might have been reaction

:46:51. > :46:58.to not quite puring it. He seems OK. Deep breath. Pressure is on. The

:46:59. > :47:03.palms are sweating. HAZEL IRVINE: The relief felt by Matt Kuchar. He

:47:04. > :47:12.is in the clubhouse in a tie with Thomas Pieters. The best final-round

:47:13. > :47:19.score in a major of his career. The highlight, the ace at 16. The 19th

:47:20. > :47:23.at that hole in Masters history. You are heading for your best finish

:47:24. > :47:29.since 2012. How much fun did you have today? I love being here, the

:47:30. > :47:34.course brings back great memories, of playing well and being in

:47:35. > :47:39.contention. To put a run on the back nine is so much fun and see my name

:47:40. > :47:46.on the leaderboard. To have a hole-in-one on 16 and get the

:47:47. > :47:50.amazing roar my kids probably heard at daycare down the street, it was a

:47:51. > :47:58.thrill. And you made the day of a young golf fan? One of the parts of

:47:59. > :48:06.the job is to bring a smile to a kid's phase and it is easy to do

:48:07. > :48:15.with a golf ball as we go from green to tee. That ball is not a keepsake

:48:16. > :48:18.for me. I thought this kid, it could brighten up his day and have

:48:19. > :48:22.something to remember and maybe he will fall in love with golf and we

:48:23. > :48:32.see him here in a couple of years. Well played today. Thanks a lot.

:48:33. > :48:36.ANDREW COTTER: And he has, at the moment, the clubhouse lead alongside

:48:37. > :48:44.Thomas Pieters. Justin Rose will be the first to play his second. Garcia

:48:45. > :48:50.is a long way past him. Garcia, the fire has been lit. Another look at

:48:51. > :48:51.the tee shot of Justin Rose. Just a little reaction after he hits

:48:52. > :49:03.it. I am not sure he is hurt, I think he

:49:04. > :49:07.is just thinking about the strike, because he moved off comfortably. He

:49:08. > :49:19.did and from experience, you can dehydrate quickly here. A little

:49:20. > :49:24.calf cramp, something simple. Justin Rose, he has to make a decision

:49:25. > :49:30.here. Sergio miles down there. He has to hit a great shot if he is

:49:31. > :49:39.going to go for this. We will see if we can hear the chat. The likelihood

:49:40. > :49:44.that he would lay up would be slim. You want to get the ball over the

:49:45. > :49:55.water as quickly as you can. Long right is OK. We can hear the bird

:49:56. > :50:02.chat. Schwartzel in the giant bunker on the left-hand side of the 18th.

:50:03. > :50:09.Should not be a problem. Sending it over the pin, Sandy Lyle style, or

:50:10. > :50:18.just right of it, but a good one and a chance to move to 6-under.

:50:19. > :50:28.Some decision to be made. Not going to chip. Looks like a longer iron.

:50:29. > :50:41.He pretty much has to go. Just right of the flag. Catch it clean. Down!

:50:42. > :50:46.Looks more like a middle iron. That is a good shot, a very good shot. He

:50:47. > :50:53.will be putting back up the hill. That is a pressure shot for Justin

:50:54. > :51:05.Rose, and now the pressure is on Sergio. A wonderful scene it is.

:51:06. > :51:10.Seve, when he felt that pressure in 1986 and found the water, but

:51:11. > :51:12.Garcia, now, just one shot behind and in prime position of the tee on

:51:13. > :51:35.the 15th. Be good, he says. Oh, and it's

:51:36. > :51:42.great. The trees of Augusta Sheikh with the noise. It almost went in on

:51:43. > :51:49.the fly. Garcia will have a straight uphill putt for eagle. What a shot.

:51:50. > :52:01.What a noise. Garcia right back in this. One of the great shots of the

:52:02. > :52:08.Masters here on the 15th. That was something very, very special.

:52:09. > :52:16.Arguably the biggest shot of Sergio's career. Before he hit it.

:52:17. > :52:30.And then he executes like that. Good stuff.

:52:31. > :52:47.That pitch Mark is right behind the hole. It glanced off the pin. Well,

:52:48. > :52:53.there we are. Well spotted. That could have gone in the water. It is

:52:54. > :52:58.not often a ball will hit a flagstick and stay within 30 feet of

:52:59. > :53:11.the hole. This is as good as you get here.

:53:12. > :53:27.Look at the pitch mark. It could have been closer than this. They

:53:28. > :53:39.have seen a beautiful shot. He still has to take advantage.

:53:40. > :53:45.Well, we are in a Match Play situation now. Two Ryder Cup heroes.

:53:46. > :54:18.Partners, team-mates. Can he convert it? Rose still has a

:54:19. > :54:28.couple of putts for birdie and he still has the lead.

:54:29. > :54:38.I know the Americans would have loved Fowler or Spieth to feature,

:54:39. > :54:45.but they are seeing a great battle developing. It does not get much

:54:46. > :54:56.better than this. An accomplished player in Justice -- in Justin Rose.

:54:57. > :55:02.And Sergio Garcia. The prospect of slipping on the green jacket on

:55:03. > :55:04.Seve's birthday. That was well judged. It is no gimme, but that is

:55:05. > :55:17.a good putt. A great crucible of golf. Here and

:55:18. > :55:37.on the 16th. The giant leaderboard. Sergio made a beautiful birdie on

:55:38. > :55:43.14. Hit his putt with a lot of conviction and has to do the same

:55:44. > :55:47.here. You cannot wish these in. You have to be completely committed to

:55:48. > :55:55.your line, get the right speed. It is almost certain the speed will be

:55:56. > :55:56.good. It was a very special second shot on the 15th. Can he finish it

:55:57. > :56:12.out? Hit it, hit it. As it! Eagle for

:56:13. > :56:17.Sergio Garcia! And a roar to be heard around the golfing world. He

:56:18. > :56:30.leaps into the lead at the Masters. He is flying. You have to have guts

:56:31. > :56:39.to eagle that hole in that situation and Sergio proving to himself he has

:56:40. > :56:47.the courage. He leads for now, because Rose still has this birdie

:56:48. > :56:48.putt to draw level at 9-under. Adrenaline coursing through the

:56:49. > :57:01.veins of Garcia. Rose has two remain the steadiest

:57:02. > :57:20.hand of all. If it goes. They are joined at the

:57:21. > :57:31.top. 9-under. Three clear. Three holes to go at the Masters. Nothing

:57:32. > :57:37.between them. Even in the heat of battle, a little pat from Garcia to

:57:38. > :57:46.Rose. What a final three holes we have in store. Here we have another

:57:47. > :58:13.look at this shot on 15 and there is no way you can do it better.

:58:14. > :58:28.Just... Now he somehow has to bring his heart rate down from the high

:58:29. > :58:35.200s, if that is possible. We are seeing it from every angle and it is

:58:36. > :58:42.worth it. A shake of the head from his caddy. Those last three holes

:58:43. > :58:51.from Garcia, from where he was on the 13th, he seemed as if it was

:58:52. > :58:56.dead and buried, it was over. He made such a poor decision on 13

:58:57. > :59:00.trying to go over the trees but what a par and birdie, eagle. Take a deep

:59:01. > :59:11.breath. Do what you always do. One of the

:59:12. > :59:24.best iron players in the game today. Here we go.

:59:25. > :59:31.Peter Alliss: An anxious look, but no need. That is going to be a

:59:32. > :59:58.little cracker. He has come alive. The five o'clock shadow is there.

:59:59. > :00:04.Indeed of cold steel and the badger. Oh, what joy.

:00:05. > :00:45.Followed him in. It looks good. Oh, yes. A hop forward there, a bit

:00:46. > :00:47.fortunate. But what two good cracking shots. Look at that, look

:00:48. > :02:25.at that, look at that... And suddenly, all was still. Never

:02:26. > :02:29.ceases to amaze me. But up to the 18th. Schwartzel for birdie. Can he

:02:30. > :02:43.get to 6-under? He can, he can! It may well not be

:02:44. > :02:49.enough, but a 68 for the 2011 champion. And he now leads in the

:02:50. > :02:55.clubhouse, three behind Rose and Garcia, it surely will not be

:02:56. > :03:01.enough, but a fine, fine finish. Of the two putts remaining, Justin Rose

:03:02. > :03:06.has a far simpler putt, even though it is a little bit longer. This is

:03:07. > :03:10.pretty straight, Peter, and Sergio has two player at least a couple

:03:11. > :03:14.more outside the live. You often hear people say, in this situation,

:03:15. > :03:18.would you like to putt first or second? A lot of people say they

:03:19. > :03:22.would putt first, and that is OK if you hole it. But if you putt and

:03:23. > :03:28.miss, you give the other fella a chance. If he holds this putt, it

:03:29. > :03:33.would be a mighty blow. A mighty blow if he can get this in. There is

:03:34. > :03:39.a little bit of movement there, but speed is so important. If you hit it

:03:40. > :03:40.too hard, it will miss on the right. Not quite enough, it could dribble

:03:41. > :04:34.away to the left. What a putt that was. Nerveless,

:04:35. > :04:36.that was. Read terrific. What about the speed, to? It had to be right.

:04:37. > :04:55.It had to be right, turning there. Sergio struggles a little bit with

:04:56. > :05:05.his left-to-right putts. No doubt what he needs to do here.

:05:06. > :05:15.He dribbled it, dribble it, dribbled it... Not a confident putt.

:05:16. > :05:28.Justin steps into the lead, two to go.

:05:29. > :05:31.Three, three, three, and he'll be disappointed. Justin already on the

:05:32. > :05:54.17th tee. Ready to go. Well, a big spike marks in his line

:05:55. > :06:00.there, it could have anatomy bit. If he made it, he would have to go

:06:01. > :06:16.directly over that. A poor putt for Sergio, by anybody's standard will.

:06:17. > :06:22.It really is a battle now between these two, first on the tee, you

:06:23. > :06:27.need a good drive, get it away, don't get into trouble. All these

:06:28. > :06:35.things play on your mind at key moments like this. "If I'm going

:06:36. > :06:51.first, please let me hit a good one".

:06:52. > :06:57.Dead silence. It's gone right, I fancy. Clipped the tree and came

:06:58. > :07:31.back out. Not too bad. Garcia just picking his target line.

:07:32. > :07:37.This fairway is less than 30 now in places.

:07:38. > :07:46.Setting up for a fake. Everything pointing a little down the left

:07:47. > :07:53.side. -- setting up for a fade. A low slider.

:07:54. > :08:04.4-under for his round, Garcia 300. So a very high standard of play. --

:08:05. > :08:15.Garcia, 3-under. And this was a medical little putt.

:08:16. > :08:21.Died into the heart of the cup. Little fist pump.

:08:22. > :08:27.HAZEL IRVINE: We thought Stinson against because was dry at Troon

:08:28. > :08:32.last year at the Open Championship, this is true sporting theatre on the

:08:33. > :08:37.greatest stage of them all, Augusta National. It's Rose with that 1-shot

:08:38. > :08:42.lead, two to play. Featuring prominently on the leaderboard,

:08:43. > :08:45.Thomas Pieters with his first time here, a closing 68. I wonder how he

:08:46. > :08:49.will reflect on his opening adventure in this wonderful place.

:08:50. > :08:58.Inside top ten on your first effort here, how proud are you of that

:08:59. > :09:02.achievement? It is nice to finish top five, which would be nice. I am

:09:03. > :09:05.disappointed with the way I finished, I could have had one or

:09:06. > :09:09.two better, and put more pressure on the leaders. It looks like Sergio

:09:10. > :09:12.Justin will get it. A lot of people talk about lessons

:09:13. > :09:16.learned at Augusta every time you play, what will be the things that

:09:17. > :09:21.you take away from this first experience? The cars definitely

:09:22. > :09:26.plays a lot different on a Sunday to a Thursday. Of course, we had a lot

:09:27. > :09:31.of rain -- the course. Some putts were lightning quick, and I will

:09:32. > :09:36.remember that for next year. How does this effort compared to the

:09:37. > :09:40.heat of battle in a Ryder Cup? It doesn't compare, but it's still

:09:41. > :09:46.great. It's really nice to feel those juices on a Sunday, hit shots

:09:47. > :09:51.like on 15. It is always a tough shot to hit it on the green. To do

:09:52. > :09:52.that, it's always a nice little accomplishment in the run. Well

:09:53. > :10:02.played this week. Thank you. COMMENTATOR: Still the drama

:10:03. > :10:08.continues. Justin Rose just on the fairway on the right-hand side. We

:10:09. > :10:11.do not know as yet how it's lying or what club you pick. Sergio come on

:10:12. > :10:19.the other hand, hit a magnificent tee shot. Justin's ball looks like

:10:20. > :10:22.it might have nestled down a little bit. Might squirt away on them a

:10:23. > :10:33.shed. He needs to be careful. The pin guarded by the bunker. The

:10:34. > :10:43.ball is a little bit below his feet. Quite a long way back is Justin.

:10:44. > :10:53.He's looking for an official. Is he standing in a sprint ahead? Or is

:10:54. > :10:58.his ball in a sprinkler head? -- is he standing in a sprinkler head?

:10:59. > :11:09.Here comes the cameraman. It might be in his swing path.

:11:10. > :11:13.Quite a generous offering, I would say, that, but hard to tell from

:11:14. > :11:33.just this camera angle. Also, Ken, he is a long way back. He

:11:34. > :11:40.has got 175 yards to the front from that sprinkler.

:11:41. > :12:02.The pin is on 23, the best part of 200 yards.

:12:03. > :12:12.What sort of club do you think he will hit from here? What distance

:12:13. > :12:19.has a good? I think it is 154. Yeah, 154, there you go. Eight? 175 total

:12:20. > :12:23.here. You have got to make a decision here, is this going to jump

:12:24. > :12:27.at all? If it is going to jump, you might want to jump it straight up

:12:28. > :12:31.and not out. You cannot go up and over this green. We saw what

:12:32. > :12:37.happened when Kuchar hit over here. It's spelt disaster. He made par but

:12:38. > :12:41.made a nice putt to get it. Over the green is no good. Left gives him a

:12:42. > :12:57.bit more depth of putting surface. He has got a 1-stroke lead as well.

:12:58. > :13:01.177 yards in total. And coming out the rough, he won't be able to grip

:13:02. > :13:10.it. The ball will come out with a firm bounce and run a little bit.

:13:11. > :13:32.One and a half holes to play. And that is right at... Oh, landed in

:13:33. > :13:38.the bunker, short. Short is vast lead better than long. I agree. I

:13:39. > :13:42.agree, it's not an overly difficult bunker shot, except for the

:13:43. > :13:51.situation. And now Sergio, it's not plugged, sitting OK. Time for Sergio

:13:52. > :13:54.to take dead aim. He's got the little plateau that you have to get

:13:55. > :13:56.up onto to have a good look at birdie. Very difficult to get close

:13:57. > :14:27.here. Sergio cannot go long. I'm lucky it didn't get one hop

:14:28. > :14:35.forward. But that's pretty good. Bit of a sliding putt. A little bit

:14:36. > :14:40.unlucky. Yes, not a bad angle to putt from. A lot worse angles than

:14:41. > :14:44.that. You have got to believe he took into consideration that Justin

:14:45. > :14:47.was in the bunker and took the back edge of the green completely out of

:14:48. > :14:51.play. Even if you do have a perfect number, it is very difficult to get

:14:52. > :15:04.close on that tiny plateau, Ken. Even if you do, it's so difficult to

:15:05. > :15:08.hole a putt. Five birdies today. Most of these bunker shots are

:15:09. > :15:12.pretty straightforward, but in this situation, Justin Rose is going to

:15:13. > :15:21.have to make a decision here. Not again. We don't need another one of

:15:22. > :15:24.these. Questioning whether the ball moved. It didn't move its position.

:15:25. > :15:31.It certainly didn't move. Always dangerous, tangling with the

:15:32. > :15:55.pine straw. I think, with all the pressure of

:15:56. > :15:59.the moment, some kind of little chunk and run here is an order. I

:16:00. > :16:08.don't see any need to try to hit a spinner to this pin.

:16:09. > :16:19.Even if you love your lie, the smart play is to get some kind of runner

:16:20. > :16:24.up the hill here. You need to play up the left-hand side, use the

:16:25. > :16:31.slope. If you are just fooling around, you'd get it up and down in

:16:32. > :16:37.two, seven times out of ten. But the situation is different. But they are

:16:38. > :16:44.magical bunker players now, all of them. So I'm expecting a good shot.

:16:45. > :16:54.It stuck a little bit. Left to right, not the easiest of putts

:16:55. > :17:00.left. Just an update on the ball possibly moving, it has been

:17:01. > :17:04.reviewed, moving a 13th in the pine needles, when he pulled more

:17:05. > :17:08.needles, and they determined no penalty. No penalty as Fowler misses

:17:09. > :17:24.on the 18th. Giving it a bit of a go. Jordan Spieth at the 18th. And

:17:25. > :17:30.he finishes well. He will live to fight another day.

:17:31. > :17:36.38 out, getting off to an untidy stock. Finishing in a blaze of glory

:17:37. > :17:46.in the last four holes. It wasn't his day.

:17:47. > :17:55.In it goes from Fowler, 76. Both he and Spieth tumbling back. We thought

:17:56. > :17:57.that group might be the real challenge to these two, but it

:17:58. > :18:15.simply didn't materialise. Sergio's giving this the fall

:18:16. > :18:21.business, looking at it from every angle. It's a slider, a tester. He

:18:22. > :18:30.dribbled the last one from about five feet horribly.

:18:31. > :19:09.Didn't look the most convincing stroke. We will have another look at

:19:10. > :19:13.it. A little bit of bounce on the ball, but it was never getting them

:19:14. > :19:17.out. The backswing looked all right, and he tried to do it all with the

:19:18. > :19:18.follow-through, and it decent read it and he pushed it on as best he

:19:19. > :19:33.could. -- and it do decelerated. This would be a gutsy one if he

:19:34. > :19:57.could get this one in. No, dribbled away. A chance for

:19:58. > :20:04.Sergio. Just not strong enough. Didn't knock it into the hole,

:20:05. > :20:09.dribbled it. Miss judged second, that began the problems.

:20:10. > :20:17.It only looks dated look, doesn't it, but it is a little bit longer

:20:18. > :20:20.than it looks. Just left of centre. A bit of pace, Sergio. Keep your

:20:21. > :20:30.head still. Try to keep your head still. Slowly back, and well done.

:20:31. > :20:44.And onto the 72nd hole level. One hole to go.

:20:45. > :20:54.Will it be won with a three, a mistake by somebody, or will it be a

:20:55. > :21:17.play-off? The bunkers are in play here at 18.

:21:18. > :21:25.We have seen several players drive it in today. Just under 300 yards to

:21:26. > :21:35.the first one both of these players have the power. Sergio, the bunkers

:21:36. > :21:39.are in play with the driver. He likes to hit that slider. You have

:21:40. > :21:49.to believe this is the biggest tee shot of his long, fairly illustrious

:21:50. > :21:54.career. He's had a terrific career. He needs a major Championship to cap

:21:55. > :22:00.it off. Maybe if you get one, you can get more. You can see him taking

:22:01. > :22:05.a deep breath here. He gets to apply the pressure first. I like the idea

:22:06. > :22:08.that he is going with driver because he forces Justin Rose's hand if he

:22:09. > :22:23.hits a good one. I fancy he is going to aim at the

:22:24. > :22:25.bunker on the left and slide it left to right if he can. I'm sure that's

:22:26. > :22:41.the thought going through his mind. And they love it. He loves it. And

:22:42. > :22:45.that's why, that's a rip-off. -- rip-off.

:22:46. > :22:56.That is probably the hardest he has swung all day. What a clutch shot.

:22:57. > :23:22.Now it's all on Justin Rose. -- that's a ripper.

:23:23. > :23:35.It's good. Two wonderful drives settle down there. That's fine. Two

:23:36. > :23:39.beautiful drives under all that pressure. Yeah, they don't come much

:23:40. > :23:52.better than those two. The excitement, they say it starts

:23:53. > :23:55.on a Sunday afternoon, the final nine. They are right. It was getting

:23:56. > :24:07.dull until that point, then it suddenly came alive. It's become one

:24:08. > :24:16.of the great Masters jewel. This is the spectators watching the

:24:17. > :24:17.leaderboard change. There we are. No doubt that Sergio Garcia's the

:24:18. > :24:30.sentimental favourite at the moment. I fancy there will be a wonderful

:24:31. > :24:37.ovation when they come up onto the green.

:24:38. > :24:41.HAZEL IRVINE: We might have several because we might have a play-off

:24:42. > :24:45.situation. If it is, it is the 18th and tenth recurring until we get a

:24:46. > :24:49.champion. Just as this is coming to a dramatic conclusion, let's reflect

:24:50. > :24:53.on the round played by Charles Warsaw, lying in third at the

:24:54. > :24:57.moment. A 68, a best finish since he left out of the pack since closing

:24:58. > :25:01.birdies to win in 2011. Let's hear from him.

:25:02. > :25:11.Your best effort at Augusta since you won did. Some up your week. It

:25:12. > :25:20.was a great week. I have come back every time, not finding my feet

:25:21. > :25:23.quite after that one. This week has been eighth tough first two days, I

:25:24. > :25:26.battled through that and did well at the weekend.

:25:27. > :25:30.You know what it is like to come down the stretch with a sniff of

:25:31. > :25:33.winning, can you give us any idea of what Justin and Sergio are going

:25:34. > :25:39.through now? All the bodies are standing up on

:25:40. > :25:44.16, I am sure about it. There is no golf course we plate where there's a

:25:45. > :25:52.war on 16, it's loud and it's exciting. They will have a great

:25:53. > :25:57.time. Thank you for your time this week. Thanks.

:25:58. > :26:08.COMMENTATOR: Thanks indeed. South Africa are well off in good players.

:26:09. > :26:16.A whole crop of them coming up. I wonder who is to play first. Could

:26:17. > :26:21.be Justin. I don't know, nip and tuck.

:26:22. > :26:29.The flag is in the favourite position for us. The final day. But

:26:30. > :26:34.you can play one a bit wide here on the 18th and end up very close to

:26:35. > :26:39.the pin. If you go over the top and too far, you can go 6-7 yards or

:26:40. > :26:42.more passed the hole if you get the right sort of pitch, it will come

:26:43. > :26:45.back to the hole. One with a bit of right to left, coming up the greens

:26:46. > :27:02.can turn towards the flag. What do you think they will be

:27:03. > :27:07.hitting from here, Paul? It is going to be a middle iron, I think, for

:27:08. > :27:13.Justin Rose. Maybe a six or seven up the hill, possibly and eight. It is

:27:14. > :27:24.advantage to Sergio Right now. It looks like Sergio is holding a

:27:25. > :27:32.witch, so Justin Rose probably just a couple clubs longer than that, may

:27:33. > :27:37.be an 8-iron. -- holding a wedge. The biggest mistake would be to head

:27:38. > :27:42.left. Especially if you are Rose. He has the advantage of going first and

:27:43. > :27:49.applying pressure to Sergio. But Sergio has a wedge, and no matter

:27:50. > :27:53.what, he is going right at the flag. Justin can put some pressure here on

:27:54. > :28:00.Sergio. He has picked out a round ended club, so they start at eights

:28:01. > :28:07.and nines, so it's a pretty short club he's got here. He can mosey up

:28:08. > :28:11.into the second bunker which is miles off the tee will stop maybe a

:28:12. > :28:29.9-iron or a wedge for Justin as well. He cannot miss left.

:28:30. > :28:39.The crowd will tell us where it is. Softly, softly...

:28:40. > :28:45.That's a fortunate bounce. Exactly as we said. That wasn't a very good

:28:46. > :29:01.shot, but a hell of a good result. The patrons left no doubt that

:29:02. > :29:34.that's close. Takes a steady and walking off it.

:29:35. > :29:43.Garcia again inside Rose! Blow for blow!

:29:44. > :29:55.Now, the same situation they were in on 16. Rose will go first. It has

:29:56. > :30:01.developed into one of the great finishes at the Masters.

:30:02. > :30:10.Rose went first, and in all truth, it didn't hit a great shot. Well

:30:11. > :30:20.wide of the target. Hits the corner of the bunker and ends up 10-12 feet

:30:21. > :30:28.away. And everyone goes bananas. And then along comes Sergio. Kate on the

:30:29. > :30:35.right, wife. Look at that, look at that... He's mine. There we go. And

:30:36. > :31:02.now Sergio thumps one up. And just wait for the raw. CHEERING

:31:03. > :31:32.Won't be too long when somebody will be ecstatically happy... Justin Rose

:31:33. > :31:51.first. This is the same situation as we had

:31:52. > :31:53.on 16. Rose with a little bit easier putt than Sergio. Justin gets to go

:31:54. > :32:32.first. This is it. Justin is reading this one on his

:32:33. > :32:46.own. It is his particular method. His wife looks on. A silent prayer,

:32:47. > :33:04.come on, hubby, you can do it. Here we go.

:33:05. > :33:30.I thought it was in all the way. Bob Blade, Justin.

:33:31. > :33:59.Rather like Carnoustie, he had a putt perhaps a little longer than

:34:00. > :34:03.this to win the Championship at Carnoustie and in the end, victory

:34:04. > :34:15.went to Padraig Harrington. He needs to strike one more good putt. This

:34:16. > :34:23.is wiggly. Pace is important. It can wander off. Here we go.

:34:24. > :34:41.No. No, no. That was always down the right.

:34:42. > :34:56.If this goes in, they will have to do more work.

:34:57. > :35:11.It is a bit of an anti-climax after those two spectacular second shots.

:35:12. > :35:16.So, a play-off. Sudden death. Over the 18th and the tenth, recurring

:35:17. > :35:31.until we have a winner, or until the light runs out. ANDREW COTTER: A

:35:32. > :35:39.shake of the head from Garcia. He will replay that putt in his head in

:35:40. > :35:43.years to come. Rose is. A reminder that we will be slightly delayed at

:35:44. > :35:50.Augusta, but I am sure you are enjoying it. Going up to sign their

:35:51. > :35:54.scores before heading down to the 18th. It is sudden death here, the

:35:55. > :36:05.only major that remains sudden death. His fiancee, encouraging

:36:06. > :36:09.Garcia. You mentioned the putt at Carnoustie that he had to win, that

:36:10. > :36:16.was a more convincing strike them that one, because that was never...

:36:17. > :36:18.He hardly took the putter back. I thought it was in. Absolutely in the

:36:19. > :36:39.middle and somehow he missed. Watch this, he hardly takes it back.

:36:40. > :36:51.Always down the right, never running at the hole. More work to be done.

:36:52. > :36:58.They stayed the play-off format in 2004 and the first time it came into

:36:59. > :37:07.play was 2005, when it was Tiger Woods and Chris DiMarco. Nick Faldo

:37:08. > :37:12.won on the 11th. They kept going from the tenth. I do not know why. I

:37:13. > :37:16.think they wanted to try to finish in front of the galleries on the

:37:17. > :37:19.18th. They used to head off down the tenth and finish, as Fowler did, on

:37:20. > :37:41.the 11th. With Floyd. -- Faldo. A reminder of some of the play-offs

:37:42. > :37:46.in recent Masters memory. Mike Weir, winning on the old tenth. Tiger

:37:47. > :37:57.Woods beat Chris DiMarco in the new format. Cabrera, 2009. That play-off

:37:58. > :38:05.went on longer. Bubba Watson. He beat Louis Oosthuizen on the tenth

:38:06. > :38:10.in 2012. And Scott and Cabrera involved, but Scott the winner, this

:38:11. > :38:17.time. HAZEL IRVINE: We have seen amazing

:38:18. > :38:22.golf today, some of the most sensational and supreme

:38:23. > :38:29.sportsmanship on display and after 72 holes deregulation both of them

:38:30. > :38:33.in effect had a putt for it. And we will have to do this again, the 18th

:38:34. > :38:40.and the tenth recurring until we have a winner. Will it be Rose? Will

:38:41. > :38:49.it be Garcia? And the fiance and Justin's wife, Kate. That is Angela,

:38:50. > :38:54.Sergio's fiance. We understand they are marrying later this year. She

:38:55. > :39:00.has been with him since last year and is something of a talisman

:39:01. > :39:05.winning his first PGA event in four years and first in Europe for three

:39:06. > :39:13.years, as well, with Angela by his side. She is something of a good

:39:14. > :39:17.luck charm. The crowd, all of us, way past midnight now and I am sure

:39:18. > :39:26.you are as enthralled by events here as we are. Ken Brown is with you. We

:39:27. > :39:31.saw last year at Troon, a final day we thought would never be beaten but

:39:32. > :39:34.this is alongside that. It is marvellous in sport when you see two

:39:35. > :39:43.of the best players go head-to-head at the top of their games. It was

:39:44. > :39:48.set up perfectly for exciting golf, the course. Still more to come.

:39:49. > :39:54.Play-offs are not satisfactory because somebody goes away with the

:39:55. > :40:00.glory, and the person tied, can just drift into the byways of golf. A

:40:01. > :40:10.massive moment. Probably less pressure on Justin. We can see the

:40:11. > :40:15.putts at the 18th. Justin had the longer of the two. Just squeezes by.

:40:16. > :40:23.One of those that we have seen many times. He turns from right to left.

:40:24. > :40:29.Everything says it on the green. Like a Sandy Lyle putt. Similar

:40:30. > :40:33.angle. Difficult to read. I do not know if he convinced himself he knew

:40:34. > :40:39.the line. It was tough. I vividly remember the ten footer he had at

:40:40. > :40:49.Carnoustie in 2007, having started the day with a three shot lead.

:40:50. > :40:54.Sergio have the putt at the end and did not make it. Ten years later, he

:40:55. > :41:02.is still waiting. He has been competing in Majors 21 years. This

:41:03. > :41:05.is his 74th. You sense there is a real feeling for Sergio among the

:41:06. > :41:11.crowd. They believe it could be his day and many would love it to be his

:41:12. > :41:18.day. He has certainly done his time. This is his 74th major. I go back to

:41:19. > :41:27.the PGA Championship in 99 when he had a chance to win. He was still in

:41:28. > :41:30.his teens. He was 19. Harrington at Carnoustie, the man raking the

:41:31. > :41:34.bunker took longer and slightly put him off his approach to the 18th and

:41:35. > :41:40.he took three more from where he was. He deserves a major. Golf in

:41:41. > :41:46.sport does not work like that. He has to earn it now and focus. He is

:41:47. > :41:53.hitting the ball slightly better but not making the putts. Justin, he has

:41:54. > :41:58.holed the vital putts. He has had a good day on the greens. Who will

:41:59. > :42:06.come out on top? They both shunted it out to the right on the tenth

:42:07. > :42:11.last time. Not a hole they feel comfortable with. Sergio was three

:42:12. > :42:17.shots ahead and then found himself two behind. Trouble with the trees.

:42:18. > :42:23.Weathering the storm around Amen Corner and this out the 15.

:42:24. > :42:29.Extraordinary from him. He had not made an eagle for more than six

:42:30. > :42:35.years. A huge tee shot. Still a demanding shot. This was unlucky in

:42:36. > :42:40.some ways. The natural thing, it would be closer. Many times people

:42:41. > :42:44.have gone into the flagstick and he could have come back into the water.

:42:45. > :42:52.Up the slope you have the perfect angle. Seve said, getting there. He

:42:53. > :42:58.blew it in from the heavens. Two putts. Justin unlucky with the

:42:59. > :43:06.second. When left. More often than not you scoot over the green. This

:43:07. > :43:11.is a beautiful shot. The tricky thing he had, he left himself the

:43:12. > :43:20.downhill left to right. They are always tricky. Rose, a brilliant

:43:21. > :43:24.reply, but very lucky. The pitch a foot further left, it probably

:43:25. > :43:36.finishes in the water. Watch his reaction. He knows he was lucky.

:43:37. > :43:43.Justin, of course, would make the putt to go 10-under. We began to see

:43:44. > :43:51.the putting frailty that has been a feature of Sergio's play in Majors.

:43:52. > :43:56.He was one behind. At the 17th, Rose, he had gone into a bunker and

:43:57. > :44:02.dropped a shot. Suddenly, all square, because it was pure Match

:44:03. > :44:10.Play by this point. The bunker shot is easy at 17. Wherever you putt

:44:11. > :44:15.from it is tricky. Cracking drives. Absolutely ideal. Rose had fortune.

:44:16. > :44:22.Danny Willett landed his second there and it kicked across the

:44:23. > :44:28.green. This he hit exactly. He knows it is a pin seeker. That was a

:44:29. > :44:39.beauty. Unlucky it did not stop quicker. Thumbs up from Justin. Here

:44:40. > :44:44.we are again. Justin. Did not go in. As we know, Sergio had a similar

:44:45. > :44:52.putt from the other side. This is tricky to read. He was trying to dab

:44:53. > :45:01.it. Sandy Lyle had that putt and it went dead straight. Unlucky on 16

:45:02. > :45:08.and 17, leaving himself with horrible putts. We are getting set

:45:09. > :45:13.for the first ever Masters play-off between two European players and the

:45:14. > :45:24.11th since we went to sudden death in 1979. We have had some drama. The

:45:25. > :45:31.last one was 2013. Bubba Watson. Louis Oosthuizen. We have had four

:45:32. > :45:35.years to wait for similar drama and it is Match Play situation and we

:45:36. > :45:44.have two of the best Ryder Cup players we have seen in that

:45:45. > :45:49.situation. They are going to a tough par four. Interesting to see their

:45:50. > :45:54.strategy of the tee. The sun is setting but it is brighter. We have

:45:55. > :46:01.probably got 40 minutes of playable right and left. We have seen that

:46:02. > :46:07.the Tempest will follow this programme but there is a tempest

:46:08. > :46:12.here. A competitive storm brewing. I'm sure you will stay with us. I

:46:13. > :46:17.know you have worked in the morning, but, come on, this is history in the

:46:18. > :46:22.making. Will it be Danny Willett who passes the green jacket to a fellow

:46:23. > :46:32.English man? Will it be the first Spanish victory since Olazabal in

:46:33. > :46:41.1999. I know he's sent Sergio a note, an inspirational note, I am

:46:42. > :46:48.told, giving him a fillip. He is one of the most inspirational people I

:46:49. > :46:54.know. And what better fillip what would have been the birthday of

:46:55. > :47:00.Ballesteros? They were inspired by the memory of Seve Ballesteros. I

:47:01. > :47:07.remember him speaking to Justin Rose and pointing to his sleeve with

:47:08. > :47:17.Seve's logo on it, saying we are doing it for him. The standards set

:47:18. > :47:28.by Seve. Everyone's hero, coming through. The Spanish players,

:47:29. > :47:33.European players. Justin is trying to become a multiple major winner.

:47:34. > :47:40.And says if he can become winner of two Majors. He is a US Open champion

:47:41. > :47:44.and gold medallists, it would cement his legacy. Sergio Garcia trying to

:47:45. > :47:47.make a breakthrough after all these years in Majors. Always useful to

:47:48. > :47:55.have the honour of the first. They were just roaring lots. I'm sure

:47:56. > :47:57.they aren't ready for some more action.

:47:58. > :48:10.ANDREW COTTER: Rose first. He played this hole in regulation play so

:48:11. > :48:16.beautifully. The shoe is on the other foot because Justin Rose gets

:48:17. > :48:27.to go first. 45 minutes of light left to decide this. The

:48:28. > :48:45.all-important tee shot. Both bunkers in play.

:48:46. > :48:54.Silence. Fading into the middle of the trees. Drops out and tries to

:48:55. > :48:56.get back. A stroke of good fortune. He has some sort of shot. He has no

:48:57. > :49:19.idea where that is. Looks like a long jumper getting

:49:20. > :49:41.ready to take off. Rather muted. That is a crackerjack.

:49:42. > :50:11.A super drive. Rolls down in the pine needles. He

:50:12. > :50:31.will have to move that a lot from left to right. Up at the green they

:50:32. > :50:58.wait. All the drama of Augusta. Late on a Sunday evening.

:50:59. > :51:06.It all depends on a number of things as far as Rose is concerned. The

:51:07. > :51:10.lie. He will have to cut it around the trees that there is a way of

:51:11. > :51:15.getting the job done if he has a decent slip macro. Down there on the

:51:16. > :51:31.corner where the tree stick out, the smaller pines. There are no phones

:51:32. > :51:33.inside Augusta, you have no access to monitors. We will see Garcia

:51:34. > :52:09.appearing eventually on the fairway. It has nestled. There it is. He has

:52:10. > :52:13.to squirted out with a long chip and run with a two iron. He might take a

:52:14. > :52:23.3-wood and scuttle it along the ground. You do not have to get the

:52:24. > :52:38.ball in the air. Not a bad shot for a chip with a driver.

:52:39. > :52:43.Justin has to decide what to do here and where to put it. No trouble

:52:44. > :52:46.getting it under the tree and reaching the green. It is where do

:52:47. > :53:05.you want to have it end up? He could get it on the green from

:53:06. > :53:16.here. Actually, it looks more blocked out now.

:53:17. > :53:24.Oh, he half shanked it. He would have done better with a wooden club.

:53:25. > :53:29.A fairway club. It is rather old-fashioned to use those shots.

:53:30. > :53:34.They just don't see them these days. Lee Trevino would have taken a

:53:35. > :53:43.driver, down the shaft, and played a slicer. Never got the ball off the

:53:44. > :53:51.ground. Sergio, just alongside you for two. Find the green. One good

:53:52. > :54:15.clean straight iron. It looks good. CHEERING.

:54:16. > :54:42.It is a beautiful shot. Sergio's fiance is eagerly clapping

:54:43. > :54:57.her chap, and why not? He is very much in the driving seat.

:54:58. > :55:12.He needs something special. Garcia among the millions watching.

:55:13. > :55:20.He needs a big bounce off the edge. Not too bad. Not as bad as he

:55:21. > :55:26.thought. He has a chance, still. A similar putt to the one he had a

:55:27. > :55:40.regulation play, just a little bit longer. But he is still alive.

:55:41. > :56:34.The noise will slowly grow for these two.

:56:35. > :57:06.Justin will be the first putt if he misses, Sergio.

:57:07. > :57:15.Justin had a putt on almost the identical line, about 15 minutes

:57:16. > :57:25.ago. He knows now that it does not go left. I would be surprised if he

:57:26. > :57:33.did not hit a great putt. Sergio better be bracing himself that this

:57:34. > :57:38.does not go in. Almost the putt Mark O'Meara had when he won a

:57:39. > :57:42.tournament. He made 20, 20 five foot putt. Justin closer but on the same

:57:43. > :57:56.line. Look at the Galleries. Nobody has

:57:57. > :58:28.gone home yet. Justin's mother and wife. Hoping and

:58:29. > :58:37.praying. That this little white ball is going to disappear.

:58:38. > :58:44.It looks like a knobbly knees competition. Perhaps not. Here we

:58:45. > :59:20.go. Two for it, Sergio. Great effort,

:59:21. > :59:26.Justin. It was not to be. When Sergio hit that while tee shot at

:59:27. > :59:31.the 13th it looked all over. Now he has two putts and what, 18 feet. Two

:59:32. > :59:55.putts. For his first major. Saying don't do anything stupid.

:59:56. > :00:03.When you have two for it, just tickle it down the right-hand side.

:00:04. > :00:18.Well, one will do. Well done, Sergio. You have done it at last.

:00:19. > :00:31.They are great pals. On and off the course. Well done. Great stuff. On

:00:32. > :00:44.Seve's birthday. What a day to do it.

:00:45. > :00:49.He has waited a long, long time. And now it is finally happening. Finest

:00:50. > :01:03.hour. There will be some fun in the old

:01:04. > :01:42.town tonight. Come on! 74 Majors. And, finally, he is the

:01:43. > :01:45.nearly man no more. A smile I have not seen too often in major

:01:46. > :01:50.champions at the end. Commiserations to that man. He has had his moments.

:01:51. > :02:15.The US Open and the Olympic medal. Rafael Cabrera-Bello waiting to

:02:16. > :02:22.offer his congratulations. He will be quickly ushered to the cabin for

:02:23. > :02:26.that famous presentation, which he will have creamed off. -- creamed

:02:27. > :02:43.off. Dreamed of.. It sounds as popular a

:02:44. > :02:48.win we have seen. He has been challenged so hard. He is the PGA

:02:49. > :02:55.champion. The players champion a fuel years ago. He has won big

:02:56. > :03:02.events here. He has had ups and downs and a few crazy things. Today

:03:03. > :03:09.it has come to fruition. He has won one of the four Majors and done it

:03:10. > :03:16.in some style. Justin Rose contributed, playing magnificent

:03:17. > :03:21.golf today. Sergio earned this. It was not handed to him. And he

:03:22. > :03:39.deserved it. A lot of hard work finally pays off. He had two, but to

:03:40. > :03:52.do it in one. He won it. That is how it should be. Up they come and in

:03:53. > :04:04.she goes. Whoopee. Great stuff. Emotion, pure joy.

:04:05. > :04:32.So many others thought this day would not come. Garcia always seem

:04:33. > :04:36.to be... It seemed like he would never win a major. Some many great

:04:37. > :04:42.players have never won a major. All around the world. And other quite

:04:43. > :04:51.modest players who have done it. It is one of those weird and wonderful

:04:52. > :04:58.things. I am not sure we have seen displays of emotion as overt as

:04:59. > :05:12.that. A release of tension over all the years.

:05:13. > :05:20.What a Championship, what a champion we have in Sergio Garcia. He joins

:05:21. > :05:28.our famous trio of Spanish champions here.

:05:29. > :05:45.COMMENTATOR: And there it is. Seve Ballesteros.

:05:46. > :06:19.CHEERING. Yes, well done. HAZEL IRVINE: Seve, Jose Maria and Sergio.

:06:20. > :06:27.74th time lucky. At last. Finally, joyously, the stars have aligned. I

:06:28. > :06:32.think one of the most popular wins we have ever seen here. So many

:06:33. > :06:42.people willing him on. Even Rory McIlroy on Twitter said, let him

:06:43. > :06:47.have one. Vamos! Well said. You have to feel for Justin Rose. Runner-up a

:06:48. > :06:53.second time as he greets his wife Kate. It was a sterling effort. He

:06:54. > :06:59.will be back. He has never missed a cut here. Runner-up twice in 12

:07:00. > :07:04.appearances. He loves this place. I am sure not even Justin would

:07:05. > :07:09.begrudge Sergio his victory today. The two of them great friends. A

:07:10. > :07:15.wonderful evening will stop I am sure you are with us at 1:40am. I'd

:07:16. > :07:21.known it is a weekday but I am sure you have enjoyed it. How would you

:07:22. > :07:24.describe the last hours here? It has been electrifying. It was a

:07:25. > :07:29.ding-dong battle. Justin Rose getting a couple ahead and then it

:07:30. > :07:34.got close around the turn and Sergio, a couple of loose tea shots.

:07:35. > :07:40.You thought perhaps his day is not going to be there. A brilliant tee

:07:41. > :07:46.shot at the 15th. It has been a duel of the highest quality. Top

:07:47. > :07:51.sportsmanship. I think the golfing world thinks that Justin already has

:07:52. > :07:57.a major and it is nice for Sergio to have one. He deserves it. He has

:07:58. > :08:06.been in the top 20 in the world virtually 20 years. At last, at

:08:07. > :08:14.last, look. It wriggles in. He had two for it. Get in there, baby. 12

:08:15. > :08:26.top fives, four runners up in Majors. At the time of his first

:08:27. > :08:30.major victory, 22 top tens. He alternates caddies but that will

:08:31. > :08:40.have been a marvellous moment. Seve, looking down today. Happy birthday.

:08:41. > :08:45.And Oli, one of the great champions. Congratulations to him. He has been

:08:46. > :08:49.a beautiful striker of the ball and sometimes vulnerable on the greens,

:08:50. > :08:55.but at last. And the expectation of Spain, having to follow these

:08:56. > :09:00.amazing champions from Spain. From a very young age he was going to be

:09:01. > :09:06.the next Seve, the next Oli and, at last, he has got what he deserves.

:09:07. > :09:09.What will Justin Rose take? It will be it a disappointment but the

:09:10. > :09:15.quality of his play will stay longer in the memory. He will be thinking,

:09:16. > :09:20.what more can I have done? I have played a lovely round of golf. He is

:09:21. > :09:28.a champion professional golfer, the way he handles himself, the way he

:09:29. > :09:32.plays. Exquisite. Today he came up against a slightly better man. If

:09:33. > :09:36.you give your best shot and get beaten, you put your hand out and

:09:37. > :09:41.say well done. This is truly one of the greatest stages in sport. It

:09:42. > :09:47.does this every time. Today they set the course up, particularly the back

:09:48. > :09:52.nine, to give the fellows a chance. Most of them took their chances. It

:09:53. > :09:57.can give and take away just as brutally if you miss a shot

:09:58. > :10:01.marginally. From the European standpoint we had Danny Willett last

:10:02. > :10:06.year and Sergio this time. You look back to the period from 1980, when

:10:07. > :10:12.Seve was the first European to win here. The 11 wins in a 20 year

:10:13. > :10:17.period. A golden age. Are we returning to that status, European

:10:18. > :10:25.golf? Thomas Pieters is a fantastic player. Matt Fitzpatrick has a good

:10:26. > :10:30.game. We have a lot of good youngsters, as America have. A

:10:31. > :10:33.slight changing of the guard. Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth. There will be

:10:34. > :10:43.a battle between the young guns who have fought in the Ryder Cup

:10:44. > :10:47.matches. Sergio has been a Ryder Cup stalwart. We have talked about the

:10:48. > :10:55.spirit and those qualities brought to bear. When you are playing

:10:56. > :10:59.against... If you play in a European Ryder Cup team you have 12 friends

:11:00. > :11:04.for life. It would have been quite difficult to take. Ultimately you

:11:05. > :11:10.have to get out there and do what is best for you. Sergio was absolutely

:11:11. > :11:15.amazing today. There were plenty of Craxi could have fallen through. His

:11:16. > :11:20.window of opportunity may have been broken but he's stuck in and credit

:11:21. > :11:24.to him. Danny Willett knew he would present the green jacket to one have

:11:25. > :11:30.his Ryder Cup colleagues, he just did not know which one. Amazing that

:11:31. > :11:36.five years after Sergio Garcia said in this very place, I cannot win a

:11:37. > :11:44.major, I will always only be playing for second and third. I wonder what

:11:45. > :11:48.has turned his mindset around. I would say his relationship with his

:11:49. > :11:52.girlfriend has been enormous. He has had different girlfriends and never

:11:53. > :12:00.really got settled but this time he is at peace with himself. OK, time

:12:01. > :12:07.to present the green jacket at last. Jim, another exciting job. It was a

:12:08. > :12:12.great tournament. Jim and I will soon repeat the tradition of the

:12:13. > :12:17.award of the Masters green jacket. I would like to take this opportunity

:12:18. > :12:21.to thank TV viewers across America and in over 200 countries around the

:12:22. > :12:27.world for your long-term and loyal support of the Masters. And now

:12:28. > :12:34.welcomed three special gentleman. This year's amateur, Stewart

:12:35. > :12:41.Hagestad. Last year's champion, Danny Willett. Danny,

:12:42. > :12:51.congratulations, I am very proud of you. And our 2017 champion, Sergio

:12:52. > :12:58.Garcia. Sergio, very very proud. Thank you very much. Please have a

:12:59. > :13:05.seat. Jim has a few questions. The amateur participation here is a part

:13:06. > :13:09.of their heritage. To be below amateur, I saw you before the

:13:10. > :13:13.tournament and we had a discussion that you would be here on Sunday. I

:13:14. > :13:19.got the feeling you were going to be. As we discussed, we will talk

:13:20. > :13:22.about that on Sunday, but it is a blessing to represent amateurs

:13:23. > :13:27.around the country and be sitting here with a worthy champion and last

:13:28. > :13:33.year's champion and yourselves is a dream come true. How did you play

:13:34. > :13:39.such good golf? I played within myself, I made committed golf

:13:40. > :13:44.swings. I didn't make a double all week. That was critical to keeping

:13:45. > :13:49.me in it. Bogeys will not kill you, but doubles will. I stuck to my game

:13:50. > :13:56.plan and played great. You made a lot of folks at USC proud. Now you

:13:57. > :14:00.are a financial analyst in New York will stop will this change the

:14:01. > :14:06.course of your life? I will have to think about a lot of things but I

:14:07. > :14:11.have no plans to turn pro. And to test my game against the world's

:14:12. > :14:16.best, that was the goal this week. I know where I stand and these guys

:14:17. > :14:22.are awfully good. I think I will continue doing what I am doing but

:14:23. > :14:30.it was a dream come true this week. Congratulations. Sergio, this is the

:14:31. > :14:37.moment you have waited for. I'm sorry, I don't know how... It has

:14:38. > :14:43.been such a long time coming. I thought I had it on 18. I hit the

:14:44. > :14:47.putt where I wanted and had practised that putt. It breaks left

:14:48. > :14:55.and for some reason it didn't. I knew I was playing well. I felt

:14:56. > :15:03.today the calmest I have never felt on a major Sunday. Even after making

:15:04. > :15:09.a couple of bogeys, I was still very positive. I still believed that

:15:10. > :15:18.there were a lot of holes I could get to. I hit really good shots

:15:19. > :15:24.coming in. I am sorry. And you've got reminded of it so many times,

:15:25. > :15:31.for this moment of a lifetime to happen on Seve's birthday. It is

:15:32. > :15:36.amazing. To do it on his 60th birthday and to join him and

:15:37. > :15:46.Olazabal, my idols in golf, my whole life. It is something amazing. Jose

:15:47. > :15:53.sent me a text on Wednesday telling me how much he believed in me and

:15:54. > :15:59.what I needed to do. I pretty much believed in myself. Being calm, not

:16:00. > :16:07.letting things get to me I have done in the past. Everybody has been

:16:08. > :16:11.great. The whole family, my fiancee, my parents, her parents, all the

:16:12. > :16:19.friends here, such great support. You had a couple of moments. The par

:16:20. > :16:24.at 13. The par of a lifetime because at that point you are in danger of

:16:25. > :16:30.falling perhaps four behind Justin and somehow you faced the adversity

:16:31. > :16:36.and made par. I did not feel I hit a bad drive. Unfortunately I did not

:16:37. > :16:41.cut it enough and hit the tree. It went on playable. Hit a good third

:16:42. > :16:46.and fourth shot. I knew I needed to make the putt to stay with it. I

:16:47. > :16:57.knew I could do what I did on 14 and 15. I knew I was playing well enough

:16:58. > :17:05.to make something happen. That part turned the clock a little bit for me

:17:06. > :17:11.-- that putt. It got me more confident. I was able to make two

:17:12. > :17:18.great holes. The last player to eagle the 15th in the final round on

:17:19. > :17:26.his way to winning was Jose. I probably hit one of the best eight

:17:27. > :17:32.irons I have ever hit. From the fairway we did not know if it hit

:17:33. > :17:38.the hole all the flag. I think it bounced and ricocheted off the flag

:17:39. > :17:45.and went to probably about 12 feet. I hit probably one of the best putts

:17:46. > :17:52.I have hit all week. I will comment about the back and forth with you

:17:53. > :17:56.and Justin. Showing sportsmanship out there when it was so intense. At

:17:57. > :18:04.the end of the day, we are all trying to win. But we are all

:18:05. > :18:13.people. We have to represent our game and raise the way we should. We

:18:14. > :18:20.are good friends, so we were very respectful to one another. We were

:18:21. > :18:26.cheering each other on. We wanted to beat the other guy, not the guy to

:18:27. > :18:33.lose it. How long has this moment played in your head? This time to be

:18:34. > :18:40.a major champion? It is funny, I have seen it several times. When I

:18:41. > :18:47.came here in 99 as an amateur. I felt like this course was probably

:18:48. > :18:52.going to give be at one Major. I am not going to live, that thought

:18:53. > :19:00.changed over the years because I started feeling uncomfortable on the

:19:01. > :19:07.course. I only came at peace with it. I accepted what Augusta gives

:19:08. > :19:15.and takes. Because of that I am able to be here today. Like Seve and Jose

:19:16. > :19:25.Maria, you have a green jacket. Are you ready to put it on? Danny,

:19:26. > :19:32.please do the honour. Wonderful. Congratulations, Sergio. Thanks so

:19:33. > :19:37.much. It is a pleasure. APPLAUSE

:19:38. > :19:42.. HAZEL IRVINE: He has been

:19:43. > :19:49.made-to-measure for that jacket such a long time. Watched by his fiancee

:19:50. > :19:59.Angela at the back of the green. The reaction the same. Syncing to their

:20:00. > :20:05.knees. Sergio a major winner. Rory tweeted two unbelievable players and

:20:06. > :20:20.two great friends. He says to Sergio, you deserve it, amigo. A

:20:21. > :20:25.wonderful victory. And, Ken Brown, summing up, where does Sergio go

:20:26. > :20:30.from here? Is this the start for him, or will he be happy to settle

:20:31. > :20:35.as a Masters champion here the rest of his life? He will be happy to

:20:36. > :20:40.have a green jacket and will return for the champions dinner every year.

:20:41. > :20:46.When you look at his play from the 15th to the 18th, he did not miss a

:20:47. > :20:52.shot. He missed a couple of putts but the tee to green game was

:20:53. > :20:58.imperious. That is what got him to victory. Justin Rose found himself

:20:59. > :21:03.three shots behind. And then two in front. Showed composure and mental

:21:04. > :21:09.strength. Touch and control all day. That could have won it for him and

:21:10. > :21:14.it didn't. He came back in the play-off. Again at the 18th. The

:21:15. > :21:21.mistake of the tee. He was under pressure. Eadie did this and it slip

:21:22. > :21:25.by. We can get Justin's thoughts. An amazing day of golf. What is going

:21:26. > :21:32.through your mind right now? You know, disappointed. I do not know

:21:33. > :21:36.how I feel about it at the moment. It happens fast when you lose the

:21:37. > :21:45.play-off. Sudden death. You are in it and suddenly it is over. It was a

:21:46. > :21:50.great day, it really was. Sergio and I separated ourselves from the field

:21:51. > :21:56.and he had a great comeback. From the 13th. That was the turning point

:21:57. > :22:01.for him. At that point I felt in control and continue to be in

:22:02. > :22:07.control till the end. Sometimes it is the rub of the green for you and

:22:08. > :22:13.sometimes not. I hit a good putt on 18 of regulation. I think I under

:22:14. > :22:18.read my second one in the play-off and because of that it goes low. You

:22:19. > :22:24.cannot second-guess yourself. I felt in control all day. I am happy for

:22:25. > :22:30.Sergio. I would love to be wearing the green jacket, but it was not me,

:22:31. > :22:36.then for him. Did you stay calm? Did the butterflies kicking? I am

:22:37. > :22:43.surprised how cool I was. I did feel in control till the end. I think

:22:44. > :22:48.that is a sign of me maturing as a player. I feel it is a tournament I

:22:49. > :22:53.will do well in in the future. As Fred Couples and many have proved if

:22:54. > :22:57.it is of course you get to know you can be relevant and competitive here

:22:58. > :23:02.a long time. I see many more chances to come. You talked about the merit

:23:03. > :23:07.of Sergio's win, what about the, Raja read between you in the intense

:23:08. > :23:13.heat of battle? We have been friends a long time and being playing golf

:23:14. > :23:19.against each other since we were 14. Our careers will go on. He will be

:23:20. > :23:24.happy for a month and then golf will take over. I will be disappointed a

:23:25. > :23:33.month and then golf will take over and we will carry on. There are more

:23:34. > :23:38.goals and objectives. I look forward to the US Open and Birkdale. I was

:23:39. > :23:42.disappointed to come so close that the year is only getting going now.

:23:43. > :23:48.I have enjoyed watching you play all week. Great effort. Tank you very

:23:49. > :23:53.much. He is such an impressive man and golfer, Justin Rose. He will be

:23:54. > :23:59.back, he will have other chances. But Sergio Garcia has taken his, as

:24:00. > :24:07.indeed he took his chance winning as amateur. Seve, the first ever

:24:08. > :24:13.European champion. He played a practice round here the first time

:24:14. > :24:18.with Seve. In his first major in 1976 at Royal Lytham. He has been in

:24:19. > :24:26.the shadow of these great men such a long time. Seve and Jose Maria, but

:24:27. > :24:33.no longer. It goes to prove that good things come to those who wait

:24:34. > :24:39.and wait and wait. He has bridged an 18 year gap back to the last Spanish

:24:40. > :24:54.success. That was the putt that did it. Ah!. And what a pleasure to be

:24:55. > :25:00.part of it. Such a delight to see him. So happy and all the history of

:25:01. > :25:05.Sergio Garcia, a young prodigy and he has come through and won his

:25:06. > :25:10.masters. A terrific week of golf. I am hoping everybody enjoyed it at

:25:11. > :25:15.home as we enjoyed it bringing to you. On Wednesday it is the world

:25:16. > :25:20.track cycling Championships on the BBC. Starts on Wednesday at midday.

:25:21. > :25:26.And more heart thumping, slow burning drama to come over the next

:25:27. > :25:30.17 days at the Crucible when the World Snooker Championship gets

:25:31. > :25:34.under way next Saturday. I am looking forward to being there. It

:25:35. > :25:40.has been another amazing night at the Masters. One of the very best I

:25:41. > :25:44.think we have ever seen. Thank you for sharing it with us and thank you

:25:45. > :25:49.for allowing me to share this with you. Over the last 25 years we have

:25:50. > :25:54.seen fantastic golf together. Wonderful to be with you and thank

:25:55. > :26:00.you to the team for putting up with me the last 25 years. It has been a

:26:01. > :26:05.joy. On behalf of the team I would like to say thank you very much and

:26:06. > :26:10.on behalf of the viewers, I am sure everybody has enjoyed Hazel the

:26:11. > :26:16.golf. Have memories and friends to last a lifetime. The last word is

:26:17. > :26:19.with Sergio Garcia. He is no longer Spain's nearly man. He is the master

:26:20. > :26:25.at last. Goodbye.

:26:26. > :26:41.# I keep losing sight of you. # One day I will dress you in a

:26:42. > :27:03.green jacket. You are the cream

:27:04. > :27:08.of the French aristocracy. I built these walls
