:00:31. > :00:42.The grass, the grace, the poise, the power. The prestige, the passion.

:00:43. > :00:45.The history, the Heritage. The enthusiasts, the expectation. The

:00:46. > :00:55.movement, the magic. The frantic flurry. The freedom of flair. Ed's

:00:56. > :01:00.the final Sunday at the Open. Big weather, big crowds, major

:01:01. > :01:04.history and some sensational golf. This Open Championship has already

:01:05. > :01:08.delivered so much, but on Open Sunday it will deliver the biggest

:01:09. > :01:13.prize of all. What twists will the tale produced in the hunt to become

:01:14. > :01:17.champion golfer of the year? Before we had out on the course, here's

:01:18. > :01:18.Andrew with a quick look back at what has already been a

:01:19. > :01:26.record-breaking Championship. It all began rather strangely, a

:01:27. > :01:31.blast from the past to open the show. A dark Thursday morning. Soon

:01:32. > :01:38.the Stars and Stripes flew far more proudly. The Americans were coming.

:01:39. > :01:43.There was also plenty for those craving home success. Paul Casey and

:01:44. > :01:49.a familiar strut in Ian Poulter's stride. And there was McIlroy,. A

:01:50. > :01:53.pale imitation on the first few holes till he was told to remember

:01:54. > :01:59.simply who he was, and then he reminded us how good he can be.

:02:00. > :02:03.They two, stirred into something evil by the weather. Some would cope

:02:04. > :02:10.and others would not. Phil Mickelson came so close last year but now he

:02:11. > :02:13.left early. McIlroy was in control, mastering the breeze, making up for

:02:14. > :02:22.the last round. He finished before the rain came, which calmed the

:02:23. > :02:27.winds. So to round three, and on moving day, all emotions seemed to

:02:28. > :02:37.be in one direction, the course without offence. Newmark made out in

:02:38. > :02:42.the game by Branden Grace. Birdies, the new holes, eagles, commonplace.

:02:43. > :02:49.Three shots picked up in the first two holes, all perfectly normal. The

:02:50. > :02:54.champion, Henrik Stenson, clinging onto his Claret Jug. Left a long way

:02:55. > :02:59.behind. Spieth continued, relentless. Still young but already

:03:00. > :03:01.familiar with Majors won and lost. But this is the oldest and the prize

:03:02. > :03:07.he has not claimed yet. Will this be the year for Jordan

:03:08. > :03:25.Spieth? He is setting the pace. Austin Connelly is having some debut

:03:26. > :03:31.at the Open. He is six back. The British charge faltered a little

:03:32. > :03:34.on day three. Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter and Richie Ramsay or losing

:03:35. > :03:45.on the leaders. They start the day nine shots back. -- all losing.

:03:46. > :03:49.What is going through his mind as he makes his preparations to go on to

:03:50. > :03:55.the tee for his final-round? He has looked invincible. He's been

:03:56. > :03:59.practising and I've noticed a lot of long parting, so he's in perfect

:04:00. > :04:06.shape. Playing wonderful golf, seems to know the tactics wonderfully

:04:07. > :04:12.well. -- long putting. Not lying in the rough too long. He's a

:04:13. > :04:15.marvellous putter. Getting it absolutely on the final touch before

:04:16. > :04:19.he walks to the first tee. He doesn't look like a man who feels

:04:20. > :04:25.pressure all feels the moment, but will there be a few nerves going on?

:04:26. > :04:30.Absolutely. No question at all. He's won two Majors and has the chance to

:04:31. > :04:35.win a third. Only Jack Nicklaus had done the same by the age of 24, so

:04:36. > :04:39.he'll be making history, but he's up against Matt Cooch are today, who

:04:40. > :04:49.has been playing very steadily all week. -- Matt Kuchar. He always gets

:04:50. > :04:54.the old cry every time he hits the nice shots, so it'll be an

:04:55. > :04:58.interesting battle. But Spieth will be tough to beat. Let's hear from

:04:59. > :05:08.the two at the top. I'm excited to be in the position

:05:09. > :05:14.I'm in. Three shots off the lead, great chance. Many other players in

:05:15. > :05:19.the field with a chance to win the job. I think we see what the

:05:20. > :05:24.conditions are, we see the forecast, same thing we did in round two,

:05:25. > :05:31.knowing 65 is a realistic and par will be a better score. If you step

:05:32. > :05:34.up on the first tee, hit in the fairway, you can be aggressive. If

:05:35. > :05:39.you missed the fairway, you have to figure out, what's my best

:05:40. > :05:46.situation? I'm hoping to find a lot of fairways. I think I'm in a

:05:47. > :05:50.position where I can be very advantageous, everything I've been

:05:51. > :05:52.through. I understand Leeds can be squandered quickly but also

:05:53. > :05:57.understand how you can keep on building. -- I understand how a lead

:05:58. > :06:09.can be squandered. The Claret Jug might be a step too

:06:10. > :06:15.far for Rory McIlroy this year but he's giving it a good go. He's out

:06:16. > :06:21.with Ross Fisher, defending his 66 yesterday.

:06:22. > :06:26.Henrik tees off at 2pm alongside world number one Dustin Johnson.

:06:27. > :06:29.And they will be followed by the world number two looking for his

:06:30. > :06:34.first major. He is alongside Branden Grace.

:06:35. > :06:40.In the penultimate group, on the hunt for back-to-back Majors is

:06:41. > :06:45.Brooks Koepa, playing with Austin Connelly, who is having a serious

:06:46. > :06:50.debut in the Majors. The final group is Matt Kuchar,

:06:51. > :06:54.who's becoming a favourite, and Jordan Spieth, looking to become the

:06:55. > :06:59.youngest winner of the Open since Seve Ballesteros.

:07:00. > :07:02.So none of the early starters threatening the top of the

:07:03. > :07:06.leaderboard but lovely conditions at Royal Birkdale, and there are some

:07:07. > :07:19.lower rounds being posted. The clubhouse leader with a 5-under, 65.

:07:20. > :07:21.Let's get out on the course with your commentary team of Andrew

:07:22. > :07:34.Cotter, Ken Brown and Peter Aliss. Thank you. Come on, fella. Let's see

:07:35. > :07:38.some real sparkle. On another day he could be leading the field with that

:07:39. > :07:40.score instead of people feeling sorry for you, but this afternoon,

:07:41. > :08:12.let's see a bit of that Irish. Took 30, 40 yards off it, but that's

:08:13. > :08:21.OK. Got a nice bump off the back of the bunker. Popped it in here for

:08:22. > :08:27.birdie three. Plenty of birdies out there today.

:08:28. > :08:43.Lee Westwood. Birdie at the final hole. Good second shot. Come on.

:08:44. > :08:45.Grandstand finish! 1-over par. That's a good total when you think

:08:46. > :09:11.the par is 70. 281. Lie... Birdie putt. He got it, he

:09:12. > :09:24.got it. Haotong Li. Birdie two. And moving nicely.

:09:25. > :09:25.Rory for his par. Just enough pace. Says his four after missing the

:09:26. > :09:56.green. -- saves his four. He burst on the scene here in 1998

:09:57. > :09:59.as the 17-year-old. No such dramatics here this year. Another

:10:00. > :10:05.disappointing Open Championship for Justin Rose. The history man of

:10:06. > :10:12.yesterday, Branden Grace, onto the first tee.

:10:13. > :10:17.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE This is horrible for Dustin Johnson,

:10:18. > :10:28.has to come out sideways. Almost backwards! The worst possible start

:10:29. > :10:34.for Dustin Johnson. McIlroy again having to fight hard for his part. I

:10:35. > :10:41.think he fancied that one but it's all just a bit of a struggle. He was

:10:42. > :10:49.doing good stuff to save par. That's all. He'll need more than that.

:10:50. > :10:55.Johnson for a bogey. That was out of the greenside trap. This first hole

:10:56. > :11:07.suddenly causing real problems for the players.

:11:08. > :11:18.Rickie Fowler underway at the fifth. Players laying up today. Tee back,

:11:19. > :11:28.skin tight right. A nasty little slope. What a shot from Fowler! Four

:11:29. > :11:34.pars and a birdie at the fifth to move to minus two. Jordan Spieth

:11:35. > :11:46.being taken back from the practice ground. Just getting ready for his

:11:47. > :11:57.tee time at 2:30pm. A birdie attempt at the first from Grace. Found a

:11:58. > :12:09.fair few birdies yesterday. Not one here on the first. Garcia at ten.

:12:10. > :12:26.Yeah, lovely birdie. He moves to plus one. Out of bounds with the

:12:27. > :12:33.tee. Missed the Green Chip to hit this for a double bogey. This to

:12:34. > :12:39.drop from four to two. That is just typical of his day so far. Triple

:12:40. > :12:48.bogey, back to minus one. Onto the first tee comes the final group.

:12:49. > :12:52.Cheering for Spieth and the familiar boos for Matt Kuchar. Playing for

:12:53. > :13:22.this greatest of prizes. Has been in consistent form this

:13:23. > :13:26.year. Can he get anywhere near the prolific Jordan Spieth? It's a

:13:27. > :13:39.decent start. On the tee from the USA, Jordan

:13:40. > :13:46.Spieth! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:13:47. > :13:49.He's so far made it look rather easy but we know and he certainly knows

:13:50. > :14:05.what can happen in the final round of a major.

:14:06. > :14:13.Seems to be straight and true. Ooh! He can now snip over the corner. He

:14:14. > :14:20.can see a glimpse of the ball there but that is horrible wrath. Might be

:14:21. > :14:30.standing above it... Way above, and that could be very difficult. So not

:14:31. > :14:36.a bad bunker shot for Connelly. This to save par at the first. Lovely

:14:37. > :14:45.stroke. Oh! Couldn't come any closer! They are all having their

:14:46. > :14:49.problem is first, Mark, aren't they? It's amazing. Just a bit more wind

:14:50. > :14:57.and all of a sudden it looks different. Here's some snapshots

:14:58. > :15:00.from the past of Austin Connelly. There he is on the right with Jordan

:15:01. > :15:12.Spieth three years ago at the Ryder Cup. They shared a coach but now he

:15:13. > :15:23.is hunting down Spieth. Should be a formality from three

:15:24. > :15:32.feet, this. Ooh! Hit it too hard. This first hole wreaking havoc!

:15:33. > :15:46.A little press forward, low on his hands. And another one. Yes! Birdies

:15:47. > :15:53.on the fifth and sixth the Noren. -- for Noren. That ball is not sitting

:15:54. > :16:01.nicely on virtual short grass. That's where it is, standing way up.

:16:02. > :16:07.Horrible. Yes, he's got to chop it out and be sensible, which he hasn't

:16:08. > :16:11.managed to do. So... The rough is not too bad there so he could get a

:16:12. > :16:21.drop if he doesn't like the lie. Possible damage. I don't know. The

:16:22. > :16:33.grass just wrapping their head over enough to pull it into the rough.

:16:34. > :16:40.Interesting. Matt Kuchar started three behind Jordan Spieth but...

:16:41. > :16:50.Might be closer to his playing partner here. Just left it out

:16:51. > :17:04.there. Not great from Kuchar but far worse from Spieth. An attacking

:17:05. > :17:12.second from Ian Poulter. Mr Green from the wrong side. -- missed the

:17:13. > :17:32.green. Great putt. Back to minus two. China's top golfer, Haotong Li.

:17:33. > :17:40.Belts it in. Look at that for a reply. 4-under. Only two players

:17:41. > :17:47.ahead of him now. McIlroy at five. Safely down the middle of the tee at

:17:48. > :17:58.five. A little shot with the wedge. Up you go... Ooh, not great. In fact

:17:59. > :18:09.distinctly average. He's got a good lie, Jordan Spieth, and actually has

:18:10. > :18:10.a bit of green to play with there. A wonderful putter but that is from

:18:11. > :18:36.his par. Still no birdies son Roy. Five

:18:37. > :18:46.straight pars. -- still no birdies for McIlroy. From the right of the

:18:47. > :18:51.green out of the Swale, Kuchar putting up the slope, over, down and

:18:52. > :19:02.across this first green, and it's beautifully judged. Two feet from

:19:03. > :19:11.the cut. McIlroy again having to work for his par. Yes, they cry, but

:19:12. > :19:24.he's just treading water so far. All par so far. Not the best start, Ken.

:19:25. > :19:28.No, at he's got this to save his par, and if anyone is likely to hold

:19:29. > :19:38.it this week, it's probably him. Shaky start. Bogey five and he

:19:39. > :19:58.marches after it a bit rapidly. 10-under. A lead of just two now.

:19:59. > :20:11.To make par for Kuchar. Nicely done. Two behind the leader.

:20:12. > :20:16.One hole played and Spieth drops from stroke. They've got a

:20:17. > :20:23.commanding lead over the pack as things stand at the moment.

:20:24. > :20:39.To save par at the third, Henrik Stenson, and, no, it's gone for him.

:20:40. > :20:53.That'll be par, par, bogey. Johnson has reached the green. Coming back

:20:54. > :21:02.beautifully. 4-under. Today. -2 and now in ninth position.

:21:03. > :21:11.Kuchar at the second on the semi-rough. Pin tight right at the

:21:12. > :21:17.front. Awkward to get at this one but he's got to attack at some point

:21:18. > :21:38.in this round. He likes it. You beauty! Over to you, Mr Spieth.

:21:39. > :21:48.That's it. Fantastic. What a week! He'll never forget it! Winner of the

:21:49. > :22:03.silver medal and best amateur in the field. 71, 73, 69, 73 plus six. The

:22:04. > :22:14.silver medal worth its weight in gold. Mr Spieth has the perfect

:22:15. > :22:19.position off the tee. 132 yards, wind off the right. Cutting across,

:22:20. > :22:26.it's going to land very softly if he gets the line right. Ooh, anything

:22:27. > :22:38.you can do... I can't do quite as well, but not bad.

:22:39. > :22:48.Southgate at the 14th. Birdie chance. Down the slope, and, my

:22:49. > :22:55.goodness, he was exhilarating. Massive roar from the gallery. Come

:22:56. > :23:12.on! Zac Johnson. Second at the 18th.

:23:13. > :23:26.Sticks pass the bunkers and a bit of light rough. Kuchar's tapped in for

:23:27. > :23:33.his birdie. Spieth has this to match. And keep the lead at two.

:23:34. > :24:01.Ooh... Signs of weakness from Spieth. The lead shrinks to one.

:24:02. > :24:17.This is a high-tariff, as good as you can have for a massive risk. We

:24:18. > :24:31.can see all the rough around this tee. I await its always better to

:24:32. > :24:36.miss in the right place. Let's have a look at the conditions

:24:37. > :24:41.of the course. The fairways are pretty firm. Let's chuck quondam

:24:42. > :24:49.here. It's quite hard, the ground, so it does bounce. Undulating

:24:50. > :24:59.fairways are reasonably wide but you have to get a good position. This is

:25:00. > :25:04.standard rough but you are going to lose complete control of the ball.

:25:05. > :25:10.Let's have a look at the other side. You ready, Martin? What we've seen

:25:11. > :25:14.this week on a number of the holes on the one side where the rough is

:25:15. > :25:18.deeper than on the other, if we have a look at the rough here... That's

:25:19. > :25:24.much more pleasant. The ball is sitting reasonably well so the

:25:25. > :25:27.players will ascertain that driving distance where the thicker side is

:25:28. > :25:34.Andy the thinner side, and it makes a lot of difference. -- and the

:25:35. > :25:57.thinner side. So they will He favours the right side and we can

:25:58. > :26:08.see the top of the ball. Tricky from that position. Trouble is the Koepa

:26:09. > :26:18.at the third. He's made it good work.

:26:19. > :26:40.This for his par at the 18th. Very neat, tidy 66. Add a couple of those

:26:41. > :26:44.on Friday in the strong winds. Just inside the top ten. The wind in the

:26:45. > :26:49.last hour or so has picked up. Nobody is under-par. Making it look

:26:50. > :26:55.a bit more difficult and that's the reason why.

:26:56. > :27:05.Spieth in trouble again at the third. Not too bad. It's very easy

:27:06. > :27:11.to just miss the green and take three from the edge. Easy, easy, he

:27:12. > :27:26.said. Head down. It is at the back of the green and through. Come on,

:27:27. > :27:32.you must have some idea! Could there be another swing here? Because this

:27:33. > :27:43.is the perfect position to get there from. Can he get it in there? Can he

:27:44. > :27:47.we've let into this flag? He can't! You either get it right or wrong and

:27:48. > :27:58.there's not that much in between. In the cat box! His Noren. He's done

:27:59. > :28:05.some sensational rounds this year. Won a couple of times. This birdie,

:28:06. > :28:16.birdie, birdie -fest... When he gets going... Here's Li at the 17th.

:28:17. > :28:25.4-under par. I tell you what, something silly happened now, he

:28:26. > :28:38.could really stir things up. What a terrific effort!

:28:39. > :28:43.Not a bad spot of the bunker here for Kuchar. Has to land it all the

:28:44. > :29:09.way, on the green. Over to you... Spieth connecting to part from the

:29:10. > :29:20.back of the third. He's all of 20, 20 two yards away. -- 22 yards away.

:29:21. > :29:32.Good line. Tailing off. Fell away at the end more than I thought. Austin

:29:33. > :29:43.Connelly. Birdie chance at the fourth.

:29:44. > :29:56.Li for a birdie at the 17th. Yes, well done. 5-under. Who knows? With

:29:57. > :30:05.three at the last, could bring much gold.

:30:06. > :30:24.Kuchar found the right front bunker, splashed out here to save this par.

:30:25. > :30:36.Really keen slope back. Par, birdie, bogey. 8-under, just as he started.

:30:37. > :30:44.Night hole, Rickie Fowler. -- ninth hole. Cutting for a three. Looks

:30:45. > :30:52.good. We've seen a lot of long putts this week. Chippings, bunker shots.

:30:53. > :31:04.Out of 33. Jordan Spieth to save his par, at

:31:05. > :31:15.the 3rd. He missed it, before he hit it. Well, the plot does beckon. And

:31:16. > :31:24.that four and 5-under suddenly look well, you never know. Alex Noren at

:31:25. > :31:38.the 9th for a birdie. This will be out in 31. Hello. How about that for

:31:39. > :31:42.a tidy nine holes. Four under. They said the wind would get up and look

:31:43. > :31:48.at that changed the leaderboard, Jordan Spieth leads by one but look

:31:49. > :31:53.at the people behind him. One word two of them are going well, Jordan

:31:54. > :32:08.Spieth looks decidedly shaky at this moment. Haotong Li, 5-under. That is

:32:09. > :32:19.absolutely perfect. Almost on your follow-through.

:32:20. > :32:31.13 macro shot from Kuchar, down the hill at the 4th. -- the tee shot.

:32:32. > :32:46.In the sand. Jordan! Now Jordan Spieth, despite his very cool

:32:47. > :32:53.demeanour, must be feeling a little bit shaky at this moment. This is

:32:54. > :33:06.when the true artist... He does not like that. It ended up on the grain.

:33:07. > :33:18.-- green. Haotong Li, golf is becoming more

:33:19. > :33:32.popular there and he is the leading light. At the 18th. Oh my goodness!

:33:33. > :33:38.It may have popped into the hole, that is a 63. Matt Kuchar in the

:33:39. > :33:48.bunker, to the right of the fourth. Shut your eyes, you might get

:33:49. > :33:53.splashed in sand. Sepp Blatter, splatter. The lightly played. --

:33:54. > :34:07.splatter. First time in the Open Championship,

:34:08. > :34:16.this for a 63. What a fabulous performance. An amazing 31. He is

:34:17. > :34:27.6-under, currently third on his own and the way things are going, you

:34:28. > :34:34.never know. This is no pushover to get down in two from here.

:34:35. > :34:50.That is a dreadful putt. Spieth has to call on some resolve here.

:34:51. > :35:01.Marc Leishman, plenty of birdies at the 15th. Big moment here for

:35:02. > :35:09.Spieth, he has let it slip a little. He really needs this, desperately.

:35:10. > :35:14.No, he is up and away. He has these moments, I have seen them before,

:35:15. > :35:21.not very often, but we will have to wait and see. A couple of hours to

:35:22. > :35:35.go yet, but very shaky, when the young golfing brain gets a little

:35:36. > :35:47.bit addled. Kuchar,. It is all tied at the top, 8-under par. Out under

:35:48. > :36:01.the covers at 6-under. Southgate at the 16th. Leading home player at

:36:02. > :36:15.this moment. His good work continues. Not too much spin on

:36:16. > :36:24.this, Rory. Second to the ninth. Trying to cut it into this front

:36:25. > :36:28.right. He needs a bit of luck on the greens and it needs to happen

:36:29. > :36:37.quickly. Another birdie chance for Southgate. Scampering through the

:36:38. > :36:42.field. We are already seen a bit of a shift at the top of the

:36:43. > :36:47.leaderboard. Jordan Spieth started with a three shot lead over Matt

:36:48. > :36:55.Kuchar. They are both now tied on 8-under par but the clubhouse

:36:56. > :36:58.leader, had timely in his Open debut becoming the first Asian to shoot 63

:36:59. > :37:03.in the final round of the men's major and he joins Richie. The

:37:04. > :37:06.youngest player from China to appear at the Open, your first Open, what

:37:07. > :37:14.is your performance today mean to you? It is pretty much like a dream

:37:15. > :37:21.come true. Since I started to play golf, I wanted to play a major and

:37:22. > :37:26.try and win a major. Really happy to see now, getting closer and closer,

:37:27. > :37:38.hopefully, in future, I will do something. 134 yards, just running

:37:39. > :37:51.into the light rough which makes it more unpredictable. This is Spieth.

:37:52. > :37:55.Nicely done. Birdie chance at last. Peter, what do you think of the show

:37:56. > :38:03.so far? I think it is quite intriguing. It brings a sparkle to

:38:04. > :38:08.the old man's eyes. I like to see them suffer a little bit, like us.

:38:09. > :38:20.We had built waterproofs and grotty old shoes. It is not over yet.

:38:21. > :38:37.Chris Wood. Started off like on fire. -- like a house on fire. Good

:38:38. > :38:48.bounce up. Here she comes. How about this then? A putt for an eagle

:38:49. > :39:04.three. McIlroy for a birdie. Desperately needed. Well done!

:39:05. > :39:13.Waited a long time for that one. After all those under par scores

:39:14. > :39:18.yesterday and today, only three players at the last 20 had beaten

:39:19. > :39:26.the par going out. Quite extraordinary. The leaders all

:39:27. > :39:40.stumbling. -- the leaders are all stumbling. Kuchar down at the other

:39:41. > :39:48.side. Spieth has a good chance here. The eighth. 3-under.

:39:49. > :40:13.Spieth after all his problems, trying to get one back. There we

:40:14. > :40:22.are. Normal service resumes, Spieth leads by one. One of the early

:40:23. > :40:32.jitters. After that beautiful approach to the eighth. Rafa

:40:33. > :40:41.Cabrera-bello, calmly into the cut. Four under.

:40:42. > :40:55.Kuchar. Safely makes his four. And by virtue of the birdie of Spieth,

:40:56. > :41:07.once again, trailing. Now, Chris Wood for his eagle.

:41:08. > :41:19.An amateur here back in 2008, Hometown hero. Fleetwood.

:41:20. > :41:31.And they have stuck with him all week. Score really irrelevant, still

:41:32. > :41:35.fighting his way until the end. So the long par four and Spieth with

:41:36. > :41:48.the 3-wood. Left again, Spieth, there is a bit

:41:49. > :41:55.of room out there. He was using all of it. Again, trampled down there,

:41:56. > :42:01.should not be too bad, the sixth not as bad as it has been, a bit of a

:42:02. > :42:07.helping wind, but there are some signs. Kuchar going with the driver

:42:08. > :42:10.again this time. Trying to aim it at the last bunker down the left, peel

:42:11. > :42:37.it back against the breeze. Spieth heading off down the sex.

:42:38. > :42:49.Well, what a start to the final round it has been for Jordan Spieth.

:42:50. > :42:53.-- heading of down there sixth. Could only hack it down the

:42:54. > :42:59.left-hand side, lots of players struggling and Spieth is no

:43:00. > :43:11.different. The third, despite all the talking to his ball... He did

:43:12. > :43:16.not know where it was. But it was through the back and another bogey

:43:17. > :43:20.would arrive there. And on the fourth, the par three, then putter

:43:21. > :43:26.letting him down. Moving very quickly, three dropped shots, hope

:43:27. > :43:38.for the rest of the field. It wasn't iron off the tee and a deadly

:43:39. > :43:46.accurate second. He would knock in the putts to give him some relief

:43:47. > :43:50.and Jordan Spieth leading again. But, these are nervous times for the

:43:51. > :43:56.leader in the final round of the Open Championship. He has got away

:43:57. > :44:12.with it, he can get a wood on it, he is a long way back, Spieth. Chaser.

:44:13. > :44:21.Bunker, bunker. No. I'm fortunate to this that bunker with that flag. --

:44:22. > :44:28.unfortunate to miss that bunker. Kuchar, off the tee. Hits a high

:44:29. > :44:38.ball, but that one was sky-high. That bunker shot he has got is a 40

:44:39. > :44:41.yard bunker shot, so difficult. Matthew Southgate is putting

:44:42. > :44:50.together a very fine round, penultimate hole. Go, go, go! Three

:44:51. > :44:58.birdies so far in the back nine, and that to get to four under. Well, it

:44:59. > :45:01.is Jordan Spieth's birthday next week, getting at little present

:45:02. > :45:20.there are, not finding the bunker. All the way up the green, he did

:45:21. > :45:27.that beautifully. Took his lucky break. Took advantage. Should save

:45:28. > :45:35.par here on the sixth. Southgate for birdie on the 17th. Yes! In it goes.

:45:36. > :45:41.He is leading the home challenge and he is up to a tie for fourth place,

:45:42. > :45:45.Matthew Southgate. He has had all sorts of drama off the course of

:45:46. > :45:51.late. This is wonderful from Matthew Southgate. Spieth is close, what can

:45:52. > :46:16.Kuchar do? You can hear the sound. Once again,

:46:17. > :46:19.at a disadvantage. The return putt. After missing the green at the par

:46:20. > :46:35.34 Brooks Koepka. Good enough. That is what is left for Kuchar to

:46:36. > :46:52.save par. He is not going to get there.

:46:53. > :46:58.Another shot gone, bogeyed the third, now a dropped shot on the

:46:59. > :47:00.sixth. Spieth is falling back and his playing partner is as well,

:47:01. > :47:39.Kuchar back to seven. Marc Leishman lost out in the play

:47:40. > :47:52.of a couple of years ago at St Andrews. Eagle putt.

:47:53. > :48:05.Matthew Southgate, second to last hole. Came up a little bit further.

:48:06. > :48:06.That is a grand story for a Southgate, heading for a top five

:48:07. > :48:22.finish. Marc Leishman makes his four. 31.

:48:23. > :48:24.Has picked up two more on this side. Now, a man against himself now.

:48:25. > :48:48.Spieth at seven. Oh come on, stop moving it like

:48:49. > :48:57.that! This time, finds the green. Kuchar to this seventh hole, greens

:48:58. > :49:12.surrounded by the bunkers. 106 seven yards. -- 167 yards. And Kuchar

:49:13. > :49:16.attacks. Brooks Koepka, huge drive on the eighth. And a delicate touch,

:49:17. > :49:38.birdie chance. He has given that a right old race.

:49:39. > :49:43.Great round that Matthew Southgate is putting together but he is

:49:44. > :49:50.testing himself at last. It is all about the little things, Andrew. Two

:49:51. > :49:59.putts, nothing special. Spieth is testing himself, a la little bit

:50:00. > :50:06.loose off the tee. And one of those... Southgate. This is his

:50:07. > :50:16.final putt of the day. A very special round. It is! And he roars

:50:17. > :50:29.in celebration. 65 for Matthew Southgate. Leading home player. And

:50:30. > :50:32.that is how much it means. 65 to close, 12 at Troon last year, he had

:50:33. > :50:38.cancer a couple of years ago and did not know if he would play again. And

:50:39. > :50:41.suddenly here he is, tied for fourth place in the Open Championship.

:50:42. > :50:52.Kuchar at seven. Tee shot deserved more than that,

:50:53. > :51:12.just a three. Brooks Koepka reduced this ape hole

:51:13. > :51:22.to a monstrous drive and a slick. Brooks Koepka moves up to four under

:51:23. > :51:27.par, big grip on that number. -- big group on that number. Spieth, just

:51:28. > :51:56.his third par of the day. McIlroy, beautiful second into the

:51:57. > :52:02.11th. Yes, indeed. He moves to four under, two birdies in three holes,

:52:03. > :52:10.all hope is not let that go all not lost for McIlroy. None of the last

:52:11. > :52:15.four golfers on the course yet going under par through the opening holes.

:52:16. > :52:20.Jordan Spieth still has a two lead over Matt Kuchar but Matthew Cowell

:52:21. > :52:26.-- Michael Matthew Southgate in the clubhouse and he is on course for

:52:27. > :52:30.his best finish. What a weekend it has been for you? I guess as good as

:52:31. > :52:35.you could have hoped? Will be finished on Friday, we were 87. I

:52:36. > :52:39.knew we were going to make the cut, I knew how difficult it was so many

:52:40. > :52:44.people had not teed off but to turn it around with the big weekend like

:52:45. > :52:49.that and look like top ten, it is amazing for me. Some great emotion

:52:50. > :52:57.on 18 from you. Last year I missed out on qualifying, and I missed the

:52:58. > :53:04.Masters by two and I believe there are sports if you're in the top 84

:53:05. > :53:09.the Masters. That putt was all I was thinking was Magnolia Lane. That was

:53:10. > :53:20.very special. You can see that in my reaction. Here comes Tommy, sailing

:53:21. > :53:24.home up the 18th. A first round of 76. A man who used to sneak onto

:53:25. > :53:36.here as a youngster and play a few holes here. And, Austin Connolly,

:53:37. > :53:49.just getting ready for his next shot. Quick snack. Focused.

:53:50. > :54:00.Fleetwood to finish on the 18th. Come on, close with a three. One of

:54:01. > :54:08.the rising stars of European golf, of British golf, so close, he would

:54:09. > :54:16.have loved to have delighted his home crowd with a better challenge.

:54:17. > :54:23.They still love him. Kuchar. Very interesting style, for those of you

:54:24. > :54:27.that study such things, lots of movement, the way he takes the club

:54:28. > :54:31.back, the line of the swing, John Jacob said there are so many ways to

:54:32. > :54:52.play this game well and the old boy is quite right. Super shot. Little

:54:53. > :54:59.further up, Peter,. He is only 24 next week. He has done remarkably

:55:00. > :55:10.well. One or two little cracks. He is only 24. The likes of Tiger Woods

:55:11. > :55:22.only come along every 80 years or so. The gentle facade cracks a

:55:23. > :55:34.little bit. Marc Leishman, currently four under. It is a good finish

:55:35. > :55:43.again. 65 and starting to perform on the big stage on a regular basis.

:55:44. > :55:54.Now, can the Spaniard avoid the hazard? He has done well. On

:55:55. > :55:58.Thursday, it would have banded up before the rain, maybe even made it

:55:59. > :56:02.onto the surface. A lengthy one for McIlroy. Anything other than flat

:56:03. > :56:26.here. Beautiful putt. Kuchar has not had a birdie since

:56:27. > :57:46.the second. Rafa Cabrera-bello at the 11th. This

:57:47. > :58:01.is not easy to get close. Played it well. They can see eight or ten feet

:58:02. > :58:03.past. -- you can save. Spieth has been taking a long time over those

:58:04. > :58:48.little putts. And Grace at the town. Looks good,

:58:49. > :58:58.doesn't it? How about that? They know at thing or two, these whizz

:58:59. > :59:02.kids, you know! So a two shot lead for Jordan Spieth as him and Matt

:59:03. > :59:08.Kuchar head towards the turn. Rory McIlroy heading up the leaderboard,

:59:09. > :59:14.he is four under par through his first 12 holes. Paul Casey, after

:59:15. > :59:46.the second shot into 17, uphill. Good race to the clubhouse, three

:59:47. > :59:52.birdies in a row. It is an eagle -- evil flag. Very nasty. Almost

:59:53. > :00:01.impossible to get it close really. Who said that? What a ridiculous

:00:02. > :00:09.thing to say! He probably does not know how near that is. Flag perched

:00:10. > :00:14.on the right and the breeze also coming in that direction. He will be

:00:15. > :00:35.forced to go a little left off the flag here at nine.

:00:36. > :00:52.I don't know if that is going to jump or not. It does not jump. Not a

:00:53. > :00:58.problem if I hit it nice and solid? Yes.

:00:59. > :01:07.Not a bad lie. We'll try to hit is nice and solid. -- he will try to

:01:08. > :01:38.hit this. Looks good. Very good. Gave the trophy away earlier in the

:01:39. > :01:46.week. Still trying to find his game. A mammoth putt across the green.

:01:47. > :02:04.That is a birdie four Cabrera-Bello. Wonderful tee shot at the short

:02:05. > :02:08.12th. The leaders might not be in bed

:02:09. > :02:12.numbers but there are plenty of players just behind them putting in

:02:13. > :02:17.good scores. Marc Leishman, five birdies on his way to a 65, he is

:02:18. > :02:23.looking for a third top five finish in his last four Opens. Let's talk

:02:24. > :02:27.to him. Currently you are inside the top five, the. Five finish if it

:02:28. > :02:31.stays that way, definitely the fourth top ten finish in a major and

:02:32. > :02:36.three of those have been at the Open, why so good? I grew up on this

:02:37. > :02:43.kind of course, firm and windy. I just enjoy playing it. Like I said

:02:44. > :02:45.the other day, it is a style of golf that I really enjoy playing. I

:02:46. > :02:52.really look forward to coming here every year. It is nice when you can

:02:53. > :02:55.back it up with good play. A few things happening off the course with

:02:56. > :03:00.regards to you so nice to be able to enjoy some good things on and off

:03:01. > :03:04.the course? Yeah, for sure, we have got a baby girl at home, two weeks

:03:05. > :03:09.old. Life is good. Everyone is healthy. Like you said, I'm playing

:03:10. > :03:14.well on the course as well. Very happy in all aspects of my life.

:03:15. > :03:19.Let's hope it keeps going and very well played once again. No worries,

:03:20. > :03:23.thanks a lot. Steadied the ship, Peter. Maybe it is time to pop one

:03:24. > :03:43.in. May be thereon rocky season ahead.

:03:44. > :03:46.-- there are rocky seas. Big putt here, for McIlroy, poor tee shot,

:03:47. > :03:52.did well to get to the front of the green, five or six feet and he has

:03:53. > :03:57.got it. He has slipped a view of those this week, still five behind

:03:58. > :04:04.and needs a miracle finish but we have had miracle finishes on this

:04:05. > :04:05.course before today. Kuchar for a... Could have been a three from where

:04:06. > :04:34.he was off the tee. Yes! He has looked very shaky on those

:04:35. > :04:42.for a long time. Phil Mickelson, the same, beautiful putter, if he's

:04:43. > :04:46.going to miss any little putts of that length, that is the side of a

:04:47. > :04:49.twitch, call it whatever you will come you amateur psychoanalyst can

:04:50. > :04:55.tell us what it is but it is a twitch. Level, now. McIlroy goes to

:04:56. > :04:56.the 14th tee and meanwhile, Ken has been finding out how the players get

:04:57. > :05:07.the exact yardage. As a player, I've just finished the

:05:08. > :05:12.13th and my caddy is wandering onto the 14th tee, the par-3. Let me

:05:13. > :05:19.explain how a player and caddy get their yardage. Here is an enlarged

:05:20. > :05:22.picture of the yardage book, the 14th green, and here is the tee and

:05:23. > :05:30.from the back of the tee today, it is 184. The caddy will measure

:05:31. > :05:36.because this tee is a little bit up, one, two, three, four, five, six,

:05:37. > :05:42.seven, eight, nine, ten, 11, 12, and it is measured from there and so

:05:43. > :05:47.from the back teeth it is 12 yards up, 184-12, back to where we are,

:05:48. > :05:51.get a good picture of the shot, that is 172, that is how far it is from

:05:52. > :05:55.the back of the tree to the front of the green, then you look at your pin

:05:56. > :06:09.sheet, the pain is on 29, seven from the left, so 172, plus 29, is this

:06:10. > :06:13.hole playing 201 yards, slightly downhill. So then you have a look at

:06:14. > :06:18.the green plan and mark it on, that is where the flag yesterday, 29 on,

:06:19. > :06:26.seven from the left. Your perfect shot is to hit into this area, here.

:06:27. > :06:29.201 yards downhill, not much breeze at the moment, probably a crisp

:06:30. > :06:36.6-iron. That is our players and caddy 's work out the yardage on

:06:37. > :06:40.this hole, 201. Well done, Ken, McIlroy with a 7-iron, needs a

:06:41. > :06:45.full-blooded one. He needs an extra good one to get right up to the

:06:46. > :06:51.flag, I fancy. It is right on line, beautiful looking shot. Needs a hop

:06:52. > :06:52.and it has stopped. Maybe a little three quarters six would have done

:06:53. > :07:10.the job but a lovely shot. Stenson. Yes, there we are. Stenson birdied

:07:11. > :07:14.the 11th and the 12th after a horrible front nine, he is coming

:07:15. > :07:22.back. Not sure about his shirt! Now McIlroy. Birdie putt.

:07:23. > :07:39.Oh! He is never far away. Just four behind. But again, time and holes

:07:40. > :07:44.disappearing fast. Two par-5s, though, you can reach them both,

:07:45. > :07:48.he's got the power to do it. -- he can reach. Interesting choice of

:07:49. > :07:51.club, must be slightly on the downside, going with the putter,

:07:52. > :07:56.through the valley end up the other side. He's given that a wrap. Not

:07:57. > :08:05.bad at all. That is a tricky one, down the slope, a little bit of

:08:06. > :08:14.movement on it. McIlroy, ready to crush one into the breeze at the

:08:15. > :08:23.15th. Where is this going, left? Oh, my goodness, that is mild left. --

:08:24. > :08:35.miles left. That is what faces Spieth here at the 10th.

:08:36. > :08:38.It was not going to turn that much according to the lines and it

:08:39. > :08:54.didn't. A front nine of 37 to par of 34, not

:08:55. > :09:00.the haemorrhage of the Masters a couple of years ago on the 12th but

:09:01. > :09:04.a steady drip of shots away. That was as while a Pichot as we have

:09:05. > :09:13.seen this week, McIlroy, down among the spectators. But he is down there

:09:14. > :09:21.with the crowd... I don't think they have found it yet. Now, Kuchar on

:09:22. > :09:24.the tenth. In it goes and this group, I think they have been put on

:09:25. > :09:29.the clock, we are hearing, so they are the last group out but they have

:09:30. > :09:34.got to give up. Future, not exactly rushing to the next tee. All tied at

:09:35. > :09:39.the top of the leaderboard, Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar, 8-under par,

:09:40. > :09:44.as they head down the 11th. It could be an interesting white for Lee

:09:45. > :09:48.Howard Tsonga China in the clubhouse at 6-under par. -- an interesting

:09:49. > :09:52.wait for Hao-tong Li. Could he become the first Asian winner of the

:09:53. > :09:59.Open Championship? McIlroy, this is his fourth, he lost

:10:00. > :10:05.his driveway left so his Open Championship, on this fairly dental,

:10:06. > :10:16.the easiest hole this week, this par-5, is Open is heading into the

:10:17. > :10:21.sand and down and out. -- is Open. Kuchar's second to the 11th.

:10:22. > :10:31.OK. First thing this morning, there was hardly a breath of wind,

:10:32. > :10:39.gorgeous and now it is a squally looking sort of day. A lot of debate

:10:40. > :10:44.with his caddy as to what club to hit and how is going to plate,

:10:45. > :10:51.aiming way right, as if he will hit a low, drilling draw shot, using the

:10:52. > :10:58.breeze. Is overcooked it, cries of fore again. It was OK, he was

:10:59. > :11:02.worried if it was short of the gorse and it is, the group in front are

:11:03. > :11:12.now on the 13th tee so they have to get a gallop on. Now to McIlroy on

:11:13. > :11:18.the 15th, his fifth shot, woebegone. Well, he may just drop one but that

:11:19. > :11:27.will be enough to be his undoing. He was seeking an eagle. Well, he has

:11:28. > :11:30.found they lie, ten, but he is well above the green. He's fiddling

:11:31. > :11:37.around, looking a bit agitated, everything is a bit quick. He has to

:11:38. > :11:41.be lucky, got to play a good shot. Pretty good but a nice contact, it

:11:42. > :11:49.has run out a bit further than it looks, perhaps.

:11:50. > :12:00.McIlroy, to drop just one. The first bogey of the day. But it may be

:12:01. > :12:06.enough on this par-5, to rule him out of the running, wild, wild off

:12:07. > :12:16.the tee, a birdie with his second goal. Kuch, slow putt, big turn from

:12:17. > :12:24.right to left, climbing the hill. Gorgeous touch. CROWD: Kuuuch! a lot

:12:25. > :12:28.Gorgeous touch. CROWD: Kuuuch! alot lot of work left for his playing

:12:29. > :12:40.partner. You can see, four feet or for his part. -- for his par.

:12:41. > :12:49.Missed a short one on the ninth, of a similar distance, can he get this

:12:50. > :12:54.one in? He can. Middle of the cup. A good break with his second shot and

:12:55. > :12:59.an excellent up and down, good scramble. So off they head to the

:13:00. > :13:01.12th hole, this isolated par-3 and Ken was out there earlier, having a

:13:02. > :13:11.look at various pin positions. One of the crucial bits of equipment

:13:12. > :13:15.for a professional golfer is the pin position sheet. It is a plan that

:13:16. > :13:21.allows you to see where the flags are cut on the green so let's look

:13:22. > :13:26.at today's, at this second, eight on from the front and four from the

:13:27. > :13:29.right. I've marked all the ones that are four yards or less from the edge

:13:30. > :13:33.of the green and there are nine of them so some pretty tight pins

:13:34. > :13:37.today. The tightest one is on the 12th, seven on, free from the left.

:13:38. > :13:42.Let's have a quick look at it. There's a bit of a bluff at the

:13:43. > :13:49.front and the flag is very tight to the front left, one, two, three,

:13:50. > :13:53.four, five, six, seven. And three, one, two, three. Standing on the

:13:54. > :13:57.tee, you think it has almost missed the green, anything coming up a bit

:13:58. > :14:01.shy, the ball pitches here and it will trickle off but when I say

:14:02. > :14:06.trickle, off she has gone so you can't come up short. If you trickle

:14:07. > :14:10.off to the left, let's drop it off the edge, you think it. But it

:14:11. > :14:15.won't, and look at how the bunker gathers it up. Will it come back

:14:16. > :14:20.into the sound? No, but look what you are faced with. Christopher

:14:21. > :14:23.Columbus, look at that. You may even putt it round the edge because if

:14:24. > :14:27.you try to float it up, it is almost impossible and come and have a look

:14:28. > :14:33.at this, this sneaky little camera, sitting in the bank. Somebody goes

:14:34. > :14:38.there, you will get a close-up of his agony. Don't come up short or

:14:39. > :14:42.left on this hole, you have to go a little to the right otherwise you

:14:43. > :14:46.are in all sorts of trouble. There is the tiles, avoid the bunker on

:14:47. > :14:53.the left of the flag. Kuchar readies his grip. A bit of rain coming down

:14:54. > :14:56.now. It just sits on its own, this 12, away from the rest of the

:14:57. > :15:02.course, a beautiful par-3. Wind on the right and he is setting up to

:15:03. > :15:12.draw it to the flag, has to get it just right. Bite, bite, softly! I

:15:13. > :15:20.would say that was a percentage shot. Spieth, last iron shot into

:15:21. > :15:30.the 11th was a nervy pull to the left. Don't go left on this pin.

:15:31. > :15:38.Soft, soft! Right over the flag. That is a brave shot.

:15:39. > :15:56.Rather fittingly, all in black now, McIlroy. He still has his followers.

:15:57. > :16:00.Chasing it. Matt Kuchar is 39 years old, six foot four, world ranked

:16:01. > :16:01.number 18, was fourth in the Masters, 16th in the US Open. He is

:16:02. > :16:28.no mug. This is for his two. So he has a tester, now. Up and

:16:29. > :16:33.down, to get to 5-under. Going the high route, the pin is in a little

:16:34. > :16:36.valley that gathers up the ball. That really needed to come in a

:16:37. > :16:42.fraction from the right of the pin to get close. Spieth down the slope.

:16:43. > :16:44.He's also left it short. Maybe there's a comb of moisture on the

:16:45. > :16:57.greens. Spitting rain. Kuchar tapping in for par at the

:16:58. > :17:24.12th. Spieth to save par. All tight at the

:17:25. > :17:28.top, both players at 8-under par, there is the leaderboard. How do you

:17:29. > :17:31.think the land lies, Mark? I don't think Hao-tong Li will head how many

:17:32. > :17:34.minute but we need another one to mount the charge to make it more

:17:35. > :17:43.interesting but Spieth and Kuchar tied at eight, four ahead of the

:17:44. > :17:46.pack, Hao-tong Li in at 6-under. The players know if they get a good one,

:17:47. > :17:50.they can take the right handbag is out of play, and the rough on the

:17:51. > :17:57.right-hand side is not very deep. Spieth has put it up there a couple

:17:58. > :18:06.of times. Oh, my. Trying to give it a thump and it has gone to reload.

:18:07. > :18:11.Where has that gone, Mark? That's unbelievable, isn't it? That is 60

:18:12. > :18:18.yards right of the target. Into the elephant grass. You could lose your

:18:19. > :18:22.caddy in there! He's hoping someone is going to waive their arm but he

:18:23. > :18:26.is going to have a provisional. Someone has found it but whether it

:18:27. > :18:29.is the right ball not, we have yet to ascertain. To get this close, you

:18:30. > :18:38.have to take a risk and he's going to take a risk. Four yards of green

:18:39. > :18:43.to land it on. Just magic. As they say in the trade come you can't

:18:44. > :18:46.teach that. How far off line is it Chris DiMarco atrocious, wasn't it?

:18:47. > :18:54.It is definitely 60 yards from the middle of the fairway. How far off

:18:55. > :18:58.line was it? A big sand dune in front of him. That is one of the

:18:59. > :18:59.widest tee shots I've ever seen, it must be 60 yards off the right edge

:19:00. > :19:10.of the fairway. Out of the bunker to hear and it

:19:11. > :19:18.would be a great save and it is, McIlroy stays 3-under.

:19:19. > :19:27.They are still on top of that sand dune. It has just come to a halt.

:19:28. > :19:34.Playing as pincers printed until Tuesday! There's a lot of point in

:19:35. > :19:38.going on. -- play has been suspended. Maybe he's got to take a

:19:39. > :19:42.drop and they are seeing how far he has to go back to find the other

:19:43. > :19:46.fairway. That's possible, Ken. There is nowhere to drop it except further

:19:47. > :19:51.back down the slope. The trucks are in the way on the driving range, or

:19:52. > :19:59.practice ground, as the R like it to be called. Is the practice ground

:20:00. > :20:04.out of bounds? I don't know. It's got to be, surely, there is a fence

:20:05. > :20:08.around it. It must be. I think you are right, I think it is not

:20:09. > :20:14.playable. Well, this is just horrendous or Jordan Spieth. -- for

:20:15. > :20:26.Jordan Spieth. Richie Ramsay, it is glassy down

:20:27. > :20:34.there, is he going to get the mightiest of drawers. Oh, he has!

:20:35. > :20:42.Richie Ramsay. Sounds echo, he scuffed it as hard as he could,

:20:43. > :20:46.little eagle three, wonderful. Golf can be so magical one moment, and

:20:47. > :20:54.the next minute, it keeps you right where it hurts. -- it kicks you.

:20:55. > :20:59.Kuchar is caught a bit of a flyer, wind behind, but that was lucky,

:21:00. > :21:04.just on the upslope, could not have worked at any better for him, and he

:21:05. > :21:10.has that for these three. Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth is still rummaging in

:21:11. > :21:17.the sand dunes. He's going back to that you, is he? No, I think he is

:21:18. > :21:23.going to drop it in the trucks. -- he is going back to the tee? I guess

:21:24. > :21:27.it is not out of bounds. He will drop it behind the trucks and then

:21:28. > :21:39.get a free drop to the side for line of sight. Huge drive from McIlroy.

:21:40. > :21:43.Trying to cut it in out of the light rough, never easy to make the ball

:21:44. > :21:49.turn, it is high but it is deliciously handsome. Oh, what a

:21:50. > :21:58.shot, Rory! He will have that for eagle.

:21:59. > :22:04.Can we move this truck? The end of the drug which is right out here but

:22:05. > :22:10.I need to drop it. I can't take relief from the end of the trucks.

:22:11. > :22:18.This is my hair's point. I am not sure who knows the rules best.

:22:19. > :22:22.Wellcome he is making sure he drops it the right distance back so that

:22:23. > :22:29.is nearest point of relief is the practice ground rather than the

:22:30. > :22:34.thick rough towards the fairway. What a week for Alex Noren, he's

:22:35. > :22:38.played some wonderful golf, he won the BMW PGA Championship at

:22:39. > :22:42.Wentworth and now a good Open Championship, 67, in the clubhouse

:22:43. > :22:49.at 4-under par. Jordan Spieth, episode 24! The rules of visuals are

:22:50. > :22:57.undecided, I'm sure they're not undecided, but... We have to go

:22:58. > :23:00.further back, right? This is going to take an awful lot blogger because

:23:01. > :23:04.he's going to have to walk back up to the sand dunes to try to get a

:23:05. > :23:08.line. He's going to have a go at the green. He's gone up there to have

:23:09. > :23:13.another look but if you look at where the line of sight is from...

:23:14. > :23:16.They are not quite the right angle, are they? Almost impossible to tell,

:23:17. > :23:23.isn't it, Ken, when you are hidden behind a row of sand dunes, 25, 30

:23:24. > :23:33.feet tall. Just getting a yardage. You can send your caddy forward to

:23:34. > :23:36.pace it out. McIlroy, after that miraculous approach, eagle chance at

:23:37. > :23:44.the 17th, up the slope. He's only gone and done it! He's only gone and

:23:45. > :23:49.done it. It might be what might have been but if he can birdie the last,

:23:50. > :23:55.6-under, he will be tied leading in the clubhouse and what a raw. He's

:23:56. > :24:03.got that sort of look on his face. -- what a chair. OK, that is me in

:24:04. > :24:11.line with you as well, right? I'm on the left! Yeah. Get a reference

:24:12. > :24:16.point and try to give me a round number. Just trying to get their

:24:17. > :24:19.alignment for the next shot. I hope he's got the club in his hand

:24:20. > :24:25.otherwise is caddy will have to go all the way back, Michael Greller.

:24:26. > :24:36.Guys, would you mind moving back for your own safety? McIlroy's final tee

:24:37. > :24:39.shot. Can he avoid all the bunkers, cutting it over that one on the

:24:40. > :24:47.right-hand corner and passed the further up? It is almost good but

:24:48. > :24:55.just five yards to far right in that cloudy stuff. -- claggy stuff.

:24:56. > :25:06.Remarkably, Spieth is about to hit a ball.

:25:07. > :25:19.Well, it's not awful, but it is a tricky pitch, but he's back on the

:25:20. > :25:27.course. Lee is there for three at the par-4. Welcome to the world

:25:28. > :25:33.orienteering Championships. Duke of Edinburgh's awards! Brooks Koepka

:25:34. > :25:39.completing his birdie at 15, hopefully. Safely in. Well, in any

:25:40. > :25:45.way. He moves back to that big group of six players on 4-under. This is

:25:46. > :25:56.what Spieth has left, his fourth shot on the par-4. Come on down. For

:25:57. > :25:57.him to escape if he makes that with one shot dropped would be an

:25:58. > :26:17.enormous result for Spieth. McIlroy, trying to get this, well,

:26:18. > :26:21.interesting headgear, it was a really good effort, he got the

:26:22. > :26:27.distance perfectly, just caught in the front left trapped and caught in

:26:28. > :26:32.the face by a large divot. Well, it took Matt Kuchar six attempts at the

:26:33. > :26:36.Open before he made the cut. But he is likely to take the lead, here.

:26:37. > :26:43.Put the pressure right on Jordan Spieth.

:26:44. > :26:48.It is good. No, it stayed left! He thought it was going to move. It

:26:49. > :27:06.looked so good, didn't it? Herb at a par -- but a par from

:27:07. > :27:08.Kuchar, amid all the tales he did well to stick to his own thing and

:27:09. > :27:31.he will shortly lead. Spieth, after everything, drops just

:27:32. > :27:35.one, extraordinary hole from Jordan Spieth, the madness at the 13th is

:27:36. > :27:39.forgotten and he moves on. He is behind but only one behind. What a

:27:40. > :27:48.hole, what a hole for Jordan Spieth, out of jail. McIlroy at 18, third

:27:49. > :27:57.shot, second from out of the right-hand rough into this bunker.

:27:58. > :28:10.It's OK, nothing special. Cabrera-Bello on 17, this is for

:28:11. > :28:14.birdie. Can he join McIlroy at 5-under? He can. Two players at

:28:15. > :28:40.5-under, now. McIlroy's final putt? Yes, it is, a

:28:41. > :28:43.par the McIlroy at the last hole, a 67, around which threatens to ignite

:28:44. > :28:51.his Open challenge but he is going to come up short. He has taken his

:28:52. > :28:57.faithful followers on a ride of highs and lows. Incredibly in the

:28:58. > :29:01.madness of the 13th, Jordan Spieth dropped just one shot but it means

:29:02. > :29:06.Matt Kuchar is now out in front on his own at 8-under par. It has been

:29:07. > :29:09.an up-and-down week for Rory McIlroy at a closing 67 has him in the

:29:10. > :29:15.clubhouse on 5-under but the round of the day belongs to China's

:29:16. > :29:20.Hao-tong Li, just the fourth time a 63 has ever been shot on the final

:29:21. > :29:24.day of the Open. So let's take you through the round

:29:25. > :29:27.of Hao-tong Li, a quiet start on the front nine, birdies on the eighth

:29:28. > :29:33.and ninth and eventually but when he got in trouble on the tenth, he was

:29:34. > :29:36.able to save par, playing in his first Open Championship, the sun was

:29:37. > :29:40.still shining and the wind was not blowing too hard and Hao-tong Li

:29:41. > :29:45.could take advantage. On the 12th, the par-3, after saving par on the

:29:46. > :29:49.tenth, a birdie two. His third birdie of the day. He was moving in

:29:50. > :30:00.the right direction but what a finish. First, on the 15th, a birdie

:30:01. > :30:04.four. At the next, one of the more difficult on the course, and

:30:05. > :30:14.Hao-tong Li rolled it straight in the middle, birdie number five. At

:30:15. > :30:18.the 17th, the par-5, it has brought plenty of birdies and he was just on

:30:19. > :30:23.the front edge in two and overall the undulations, so close to the

:30:24. > :30:28.eagle, near dead to the hole but that would drop for another birdie.

:30:29. > :30:30.This was an outstanding finish, the final hole, and his second to the

:30:31. > :30:46.last. That would match Branden Grace's 62

:30:47. > :30:51.of yesterday but Randall 69, 73, 69 and this closing 63, Stenson shot 63

:30:52. > :30:53.last year to win so don't rule out Hao-tong Li winning with that 63.

:30:54. > :31:05.Astonishing round of golf. And hanging around, playing around

:31:06. > :31:14.with his coach in the background there, there may yell -- may will

:31:15. > :31:18.yet be a play-off for Haotong Li. The leader, the leader of the Open

:31:19. > :31:34.Championship with five holes to go, Matt Butcher. -- Matt Kuchar. That

:31:35. > :31:38.is safe. That is quite heavy swearing for Matt Kuchar. I

:31:39. > :31:49.apologise for the language from Matt Kuchar. Sarah, can he really group.

:31:50. > :31:56.-- Jordan Spieth. Too many bad shots today.

:31:57. > :32:06.He certainly cannot! Absolutely beautiful. This is a crazy round of

:32:07. > :32:22.golf from Jordan Spieth, it is just extraordinary. To save par, Koepka.

:32:23. > :32:31.You fancy that that is that for Brooks Koepka, the US Open champion,

:32:32. > :32:46.3-under par. There they are, Kuchar and Spieth. This is

:32:47. > :32:56.different, it is no less enthralling for all of that. Kuchar, long putt

:32:57. > :33:05.for a two. You're absolutely right. That is exactly it. Can he is bring

:33:06. > :33:17.a surprise? A good putt from distance for Matt Kuchar.

:33:18. > :33:37.Then it goes and that is good enough at the moment, but Spieth with a

:33:38. > :33:44.very short birdie putt to come. Down in the amphitheatre, the 14th,

:33:45. > :33:51.Spieth,... Do think he will hole it? He is good from this distance. He is

:33:52. > :33:59.good from every distance. And there it is. A two on the 14th to follow

:34:00. > :34:04.that remarkable 13 and the adrenaline is coursing through his

:34:05. > :34:11.veins, he has covered those two holes, that is all he has to think

:34:12. > :34:17.about, four holes remaining. Well, Rafa Cabrera-bello's second shot

:34:18. > :34:25.seems incredible, but we will go with that. He has got a good strike

:34:26. > :34:37.on that. Sailing towards the green, what a good shot.

:34:38. > :34:45.The defending champion, the defence nearly over. A birdie on the 17th.

:34:46. > :34:53.Henrik Stenson moves into the top ten, 3-under for his back nine.

:34:54. > :35:03.Second shot to 15 for Matt Kuchar. Wind off the right, slightly into 11

:35:04. > :35:08.mph on the graphic, cut it up into the wind, has he got the power to

:35:09. > :35:16.get there? He has, but he has dragged it into the bunker on the

:35:17. > :35:21.left of the green. When it gets to the stage of the last round of the

:35:22. > :35:26.Open you are playing on instinct, there it is Jordan Spieth, will his

:35:27. > :35:36.instinct they as good as that tee shot on the last? Another one that

:35:37. > :35:42.looks a little bit loose. Scratch the edge of the bunker, finds the

:35:43. > :35:46.green, good position now, he has eagled this hole and he has two

:35:47. > :35:58.putts for another birdie and Spieth is back on track. Birdie putt for

:35:59. > :36:05.Carbrea-Bello, this is to move... It does not happen. Of 68 for

:36:06. > :36:12.Carbrera-Bello, tied for fourth place with Rory McIlroy and a great

:36:13. > :36:21.week of golf. 275. Wonderful play. Superb golf course. It is a long way

:36:22. > :36:34.back to the pen-macro for Kuchar and it is lying well on the sand.

:36:35. > :36:41.-- pin. Good contact, and knife should forward as well, that helped

:36:42. > :36:56.and that is for his birdie, over to you, Jordan. Just sign it Open

:36:57. > :37:03.champion, perhaps. The pin is on 25 so this putt must be a good 60 plus

:37:04. > :37:13.feet for Jordan Spieth for a goal. This looks good. He has holed it.

:37:14. > :37:19.Eagle three. Look at that! What a comeback! If it is to be an Open

:37:20. > :37:24.Championship winning round, it is one of the most remarkable to do so.

:37:25. > :37:30.Extraordinary, at the 13th he was down and out, birdie on the 14th,

:37:31. > :37:42.eagle on the 15th... And now Kuchar, how can he respond? Via resistible

:37:43. > :37:51.force of Jordan Spieth. Look at this one,. Measure perfectly. Started

:37:52. > :37:55.with three bogeys today. The 13th he was down and out over on the

:37:56. > :38:04.practice ground and look at him now. Kuchar, in it goes. Some intense

:38:05. > :38:08.contact. Suddenly it is a great showdown, Spieth and Kuchar, heading

:38:09. > :38:14.to the 16, three holes to go, one between them and it is surely now

:38:15. > :38:19.down to these two. What defends it has been from Henrik Stenson. It is

:38:20. > :38:24.not going to be quite enough to hold on the Claret Jug but the man who

:38:25. > :38:28.thrilled everyone except for Phil Mickelson at Troon last year has put

:38:29. > :38:38.up a very stout defence of his Claret Jug. Koepka, from below the

:38:39. > :38:46.green at the 17th. This is a wiggly one, up and over, long, round, up

:38:47. > :38:52.and down, that is very well judge. Birdie for Koepka and he is four

:38:53. > :39:04.under. The 16th fairway and Kuchar is one behind. Pinned type II that

:39:05. > :39:14.right-hand side. Stay there, gone back down, not too far, but that is

:39:15. > :39:20.an awkward one. Now, from the rough, the leader.

:39:21. > :39:28.He has got that John Tina is back again. He was looking almost a

:39:29. > :39:39.callow youth a couple of hours ago, now he is back into his stride, for

:39:40. > :39:46.the moment. One year ago, it was the winning putt in the final green for

:39:47. > :39:54.Henrik Stenson. And it has been a good defence. Three bogeys in the

:39:55. > :39:58.front nine, three bogeys on the back, finished just outside the top

:39:59. > :40:06.ten and the Claret Jug will go to someone else. With the trust of

:40:07. > :40:11.putter, this has done well for him this week. Uphill. All the way, it

:40:12. > :40:30.flattens out of bit. Good pace. There is Wayne Rooney, look at him

:40:31. > :40:42.on the left. He has warned Everton pyjamas ever since he left. Spieth

:40:43. > :40:50.for a three. Running well. Well, what an amazing run! Birdie, eagle,

:40:51. > :40:55.birdie. The magic returns to the fingers of the young man. I have

:40:56. > :41:01.never seen it quite like that before. In moments of despair,

:41:02. > :41:06.suddenly he has risen like Lazarus. He was on the ropes three holes ago,

:41:07. > :41:09.but he has laptop, killer blows now for Kuchar. You have got to get this

:41:10. > :41:24.in! Well done. Well done, I don't know

:41:25. > :41:28.what you can say about that, two holes to go, much can happen. You

:41:29. > :41:35.talk about body blows, my goodness me! What a run of holes it has been

:41:36. > :41:41.for Jordan Spieth, he now has a two shot lead over Matt Kuchar, had

:41:42. > :41:46.suddenly with 12 shots back, his 63 means he will finish third at worst

:41:47. > :41:50.and Rory McIlroy, and up-and-down Championship but EN said on 5-under

:41:51. > :41:57.par but for Jordan Spieth, what a last four holes it has been. Perhaps

:41:58. > :42:02.the most extraordinary hour of golf from any player in contention in the

:42:03. > :42:10.final round of a major, this was the 13th, simply a mad hole. I tee shot,

:42:11. > :42:15.miles to the right. Head in hands. Already asking for another ball. So

:42:16. > :42:21.far right, it was not found for a long time. He was asking, is it out

:42:22. > :42:26.of bounds over there, down towards the practice ground. Found the ball

:42:27. > :42:29.eventually and then found an age climbing up and down the mountain,

:42:30. > :42:33.to get a line and a ruling and eventually went all the way back

:42:34. > :42:41.onto the practice ground, dropped the team that trucks and then with a

:42:42. > :42:48.long iron escaped. Close to the green and went up and down to drop

:42:49. > :42:52.just one shot. Kuchar then lead at that point. Was he shaken by that,

:42:53. > :43:04.Jordan Spieth? Look at the tee shot on the 14th. The powdered three.

:43:05. > :43:09.Very nearly a hole-in-one. Recovered in two blows by Jordan Spieth. One

:43:10. > :43:20.of those shots back and then the 15th. Eagle putt. Go and get that,

:43:21. > :43:28.he said to his caddy. The eagle lifted him clear again. Go and get

:43:29. > :43:31.that ball. That magical ball. Onto the 16, powdered four. This time

:43:32. > :43:42.Kuchar must have been really pin high. And another birdie. An escaped

:43:43. > :43:46.bogey on the 13th, eagle on the 15, birdie on the 16th and the Claret

:43:47. > :43:55.Jug is very nearly his, but it is not over yet. Kuchar into the very

:43:56. > :44:08.thick rough on the left-hand side with his tee shot, got it up to

:44:09. > :44:18.here. Needs to attack. Two behind at the moment, that is for a birdie.

:44:19. > :44:26.Spieth's third shot, rough on the right, has to get it up the ridge,

:44:27. > :44:34.one bounce and up she goes. What a play! He has come alive after all

:44:35. > :44:41.that larking about at the 13th. It caused a lot of controversy, of that

:44:42. > :44:45.I am certain. Well, well. I think now it is time to leave. I think he

:44:46. > :44:52.knows, but he will still be around for the presentation ceremony.

:44:53. > :44:57.Coming down to crunch time for Kuchar, can he hole this down the

:44:58. > :45:03.slope? Dives at the end. And it has dived into the hole! It has dived

:45:04. > :45:14.into the hole and he gets within one. Well done, Kuchar! Brilliant

:45:15. > :45:21.stuff. Downhill, Peter, Little bit from left to right. Feet are

:45:22. > :45:37.important as well. If he putts it straight, it will go right and miss.

:45:38. > :45:42.Firm and true, confident. A massive difference. Rory McIlroy scored 67

:45:43. > :45:47.and he is with Richie. Did you sense at all that you are going to get

:45:48. > :45:52.close? I did. It is tough out there, I a lot tougher today than

:45:53. > :45:56.yesterday. The back nine is playing tough and I knew if I could just

:45:57. > :46:02.beat the scorer of Haotong Li and if I could get to seven, I thought I

:46:03. > :46:07.would have a chance. I have lost the ball on 15th and that stop me in my

:46:08. > :46:13.tracks. Yes, good day, played well. A step in the right direction

:46:14. > :46:19.compare to the last few weeks. I am getting there. Spieth at the 18,

:46:20. > :46:29.leader by two. He has found very few fairways today. He is all right, but

:46:30. > :46:35.he missed another fairway. Kuchar must feel hard done by, because he

:46:36. > :46:40.has played better than Spieth. When Spieth went off the fairway, he has

:46:41. > :46:53.been very lucky. Now, Kuchar. Two behind.

:46:54. > :47:07.Go! Go! It may be clumpy. Great crowds here this week. This has

:47:08. > :47:11.probably been as large an Open Championship as I have been to.

:47:12. > :47:15.Everyone is enormous now, the crowds have turned out and the whole thing

:47:16. > :47:17.has been very spectacular. Look at that. It has got to be taken down as

:47:18. > :47:35.well. 220 yards. Not a bad light, long

:47:36. > :47:39.iron. Needs to be straight on the big window in the middle. Through

:47:40. > :47:50.the gap, between the bunkers. Can he do it? That is the green, right?

:47:51. > :48:00.Dead on, Buddy! Very good shot indeed. Kuchar, two strokes behind.

:48:01. > :48:05.He has to make a birdie, to have any sort of a chance, he has a good

:48:06. > :48:21.angle. Spieth on the front of the green. He had to jump a little. It

:48:22. > :48:31.plummeted in. Could be unlucky, it could be plugged. Great ovation. For

:48:32. > :48:43.the young star from America and also for Kuchar, a great Championship. In

:48:44. > :48:48.many ways, it has been different. Matt Kuchar who has played his part

:48:49. > :48:56.in this and Rickie Fowler looks on. Oh, look at this. It has not been

:48:57. > :49:00.his day. He once some of those telescopic legs. If he gets this

:49:01. > :49:16.out, it will be a small miracle and he really needs to hole it, so he

:49:17. > :49:22.will take a chance. Well done! Oh, to take it down, Bindi legs, flick

:49:23. > :49:28.it out. A huge amount of luck involved. That is about as good as

:49:29. > :49:36.he could do, really. Spieth with the vast luxury of having a few putts to

:49:37. > :49:49.be champion. I think he has wrote it up very close.

:49:50. > :49:53.He has got a masters and a US Open and now he has the Open

:49:54. > :50:11.Championship. Kuchar, can he save his par for an

:50:12. > :50:25.mighty roar? Terrific effort. Getting round in 68.

:50:26. > :50:36.The final shot of the Championship. And in she goes. Spieth, young

:50:37. > :50:43.Master Spieth is the champion at Royal Birkdale. Some great stuff.

:50:44. > :51:02.Interesting, controversial, magical, what a week.

:51:03. > :51:08.Joined the great Jack Nicklaus with three grand slams before the age of

:51:09. > :51:15.24. Well done, fantastic stuff. Great

:51:16. > :51:29.stuff. Lots of hugs along the way and why

:51:30. > :51:42.not? He has played some great stuff. The recoveries have been amazing.

:51:43. > :51:48.There is confirmation. Jordan Spieth is the champion golfer of the year,

:51:49. > :51:54.12-under par, he takes it by three from fellow countrymen Matt Kuchar

:51:55. > :51:58.about what an Open debut for Haotong Li, final day 63 in just behind him,

:51:59. > :52:03.Rory McIlroy, I bit up and down for the Northern Irishman but he

:52:04. > :52:07.finishes 5-under par. It did not quite turn into the head-to-head

:52:08. > :52:14.masterclass of 12 months ago but it was a battle between two friends,

:52:15. > :52:19.two Ryder Cup team-mates, making the presentation now. Ladies and

:52:20. > :52:27.gentlemen, the leading amateur and winner of the Silver Medal, Alfie

:52:28. > :52:31.plot. He had great support around the chorus, grey wig for him as well

:52:32. > :52:38.and I'm sure he will remember this for a very time. -- a great week for

:52:39. > :52:46.him. He finished 6-over par and played some wonderful golf. European

:52:47. > :52:51.amateur champion. I think you will be a hot favourite for the Walker

:52:52. > :53:03.cup. His girlfriend cannot believe it. The runner-up and winner of the

:53:04. > :53:07.Silver Salvo, Matt Kuchar. They have loved him around the links of

:53:08. > :53:10.Birkdale, the crowds here and he said afterwards that it hurts and it

:53:11. > :53:15.must do because it looked for a moment that he could be heading for

:53:16. > :53:19.a first major. He did everything right. He must've thought maybe it

:53:20. > :53:25.was his turn. He has been a wonderful player for many years. The

:53:26. > :53:29.cries of his name around the course have been there always, he can count

:53:30. > :53:31.himself a little unlucky. He gets the Silver salvo but it is not quite

:53:32. > :53:46.like the real thing. And with a score of 268, the winner

:53:47. > :53:53.of the Gold Medal and the champion golfer of the year, Jordan Spieth!

:53:54. > :53:57.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. He led from the start and he showed such

:53:58. > :54:03.incredible resilience over those last five holes today. It was

:54:04. > :54:05.amazing, he was a bit like an heavyweight boxer who had hit the

:54:06. > :54:12.canvas and you think he is out but he came up battling. Those last five

:54:13. > :54:15.holes were something special. I do not know how he turned it around but

:54:16. > :54:20.there was real mental fortitude and he is a classy champion golfer.

:54:21. > :54:30.Brilliant stuff and congratulations to him. A short time ago, I grabbed

:54:31. > :54:35.a few words with the Open champion. Jordan, clutching the Claret Jug,

:54:36. > :54:41.huge congratulations, it was eventful out there, how do you

:54:42. > :54:44.describe it? It was. I told Michael after was, I said 17 pars and a

:54:45. > :54:50.birdie would have worked as well but he said, I enjoyed that path better.

:54:51. > :54:56.What a tremendous five holes. There was one route and you had to put

:54:57. > :55:00.your foot on the gas pedal and 14 got me back into it and I knew I had

:55:01. > :55:03.the momentum and we were tied and I felt I had an advantage at that

:55:04. > :55:07.point and that was all I needed because I did not think that way the

:55:08. > :55:11.whole day. But for those last five holes, there was the 13th, the tee

:55:12. > :55:16.shot, describe what you were thinking as you were walking up to

:55:17. > :55:20.find your ball. Well, they said they had found it or else I would have

:55:21. > :55:23.hit another one but then they found the wrong ball, I was told it hit a

:55:24. > :55:28.guy in the head and went over the other side and once I saw it, I knew

:55:29. > :55:30.I could not hit it back far enough to get it into Blake and I was

:55:31. > :55:36.trying to look at unplayable options. I credit myself for having

:55:37. > :55:42.hit the ball in some pretty unique places in my short career so far to

:55:43. > :55:47.recognise to take my time and sit there and say, I might have an

:55:48. > :55:52.advantage going here instead of re-teeing and I was able to make a

:55:53. > :55:56.five out of it and without that, I make a six or seven and it is very

:55:57. > :56:00.well over. It seemed to be a huge turning point, had you turn that

:56:01. > :56:05.into what you were then able to produce over the last five holes? I

:56:06. > :56:10.stood on the next tee, extremely nervous as I was all day and thought

:56:11. > :56:13.I had a good number or I could hit a nice smooth swing, when you're so

:56:14. > :56:21.nervous you hit the ball so far and I thought I could smooth it and hold

:56:22. > :56:25.it in the wind and it was a laser out there. It almost rolled past.

:56:26. > :56:30.When that one went in, that was huge. When we bought off the 13th

:56:31. > :56:34.green, Michael said we had the momentum, I know it was an odd way

:56:35. > :56:37.to do it but we have the momentum even though we were one down. I know

:56:38. > :56:43.you will want to enjoy this verse, but it is number three on the route

:56:44. > :56:50.to a Grand Slam, how much does intensity build now? A bit. It adds

:56:51. > :56:56.a headline to it. For me, the game plan is a week of rest, my birthday

:56:57. > :57:01.is next week, I have got a trip planned with my dad and brother to

:57:02. > :57:05.go fishing and then I have the PGA. We will go through a similar process

:57:06. > :57:09.that I did before this, I went on vacation and I got ready the week

:57:10. > :57:14.before and came here. Enjoy the win and the birthday, you're the

:57:15. > :57:18.champion golfer of the year, congratulations. A great champion,

:57:19. > :57:21.but it has been a great week. Everything has been marvellous, I

:57:22. > :57:26.don't know how he got that boost of confidence at the 13th when he took

:57:27. > :57:29.a bogey when he could have taken a six or seven. From there, he could

:57:30. > :57:32.not be stopped, it was a brilliant performance. Also this week, the

:57:33. > :57:37.chorus has been perfect and the weather has given variation for the

:57:38. > :57:40.players, the crowds have supported well, it has been a fantastic week

:57:41. > :57:43.of golf and we have had a really deserved champion. We have indeed,

:57:44. > :57:49.it has been a pleasure sharing it with you but there is a lot more

:57:50. > :57:54.sport to camp on the BBC. From tomorrow, the world swimming

:57:55. > :58:00.Championships live from Budapest. Our next golf on the BBC, the

:58:01. > :58:06.British Open, highlights of all four days starting on Thursday, the 3rd

:58:07. > :58:07.of August at five o'clock. But there is more live golf to come on the

:58:08. > :58:45.BBC. It will be very exciting to see if

:58:46. > :58:50.Jordan Spieth can make it a Grand Slam in the Majors and it will be

:58:51. > :58:55.live on the BBC, but tonight, he will enjoy his third major victory,

:58:56. > :59:00.his first at the Open Championship, it was a crazy final day here at

:59:01. > :59:06.Royal Birkdale but the 23-year-old from Texas held the lead and his

:59:07. > :59:08.nerve to be crowned champion golfer of the year. Goodbye.
