:00:41. > :00:48.golf, during -- playing an adjournment or not playing in

:00:48. > :00:55.tournaments, it is exciting. It was gives me a tingle. He has got it.

:00:55. > :01:01.And that settles it. Then he is, the greatest golfer of the game has ever

:01:01. > :01:11.known. To walk the fairways that some of the greatest players in golf

:01:11. > :01:18.

:01:18. > :01:21.have been on, is amazing. This 483. -- for a three. Did you enjoy that?

:01:21. > :01:26.For any golfer who knows anything about golf and the history, this is

:01:26. > :01:30.the place you want to come and play. The champion golfer for the year and

:01:30. > :01:40.the women -- winner of the gold medal with a score of 282, John

:01:40. > :01:46.

:01:46. > :01:52.Daly. Yes. There it is. That is a 74 Tiger Woods. He is a champion, and

:01:52. > :01:56.well-deserved. How fitting that it should be the women's world number

:01:56. > :02:00.one going down in history as the first winner of a women's

:02:00. > :02:07.professional event on this course. If a win this week, it will be so

:02:07. > :02:11.special, especially at St Andrews, this historic golf course. There

:02:11. > :02:15.really is nowhere else like it in golf. St Andrews, the home of the

:02:15. > :02:21.sport, where many of the greats the game and made their mark. The Open

:02:21. > :02:24.Championship has been staged here 28 times, a record 28 times and this is

:02:24. > :02:29.only the second time in history that the best women golfers in the world

:02:29. > :02:33.have tackled this famous course. Indeed, this is the trophy that they

:02:33. > :02:40.are playing for. The elegant lines of the silver trophy which bears

:02:40. > :02:43.more than a passing nod to the old Claret Jug itself. I say testing

:02:43. > :02:48.themselves on The Old Course and that is what has been happening.

:02:48. > :02:51.They were probably with us yesterday because the third round was

:02:51. > :02:55.abandoned at 12:30pm with quite a few players still out on the

:02:55. > :02:59.course. Indeed, our leaders were still to go out. For the second year

:02:59. > :03:04.in a row, this great Championship is heading for a marathon final day

:03:04. > :03:10.with 86 holes to be completed by many of the leading players. We

:03:10. > :03:14.started the week with more than a passing nod to the great Inbee Park

:03:14. > :03:19.of Korea. Could she be the woman to become the first fresh and golfer,

:03:19. > :03:29.male or female, to win four Major titles in the same year? -- first

:03:29. > :03:32.

:03:32. > :03:38.female golfer. Andrew Cotter reflects on the first few days.

:03:38. > :03:41.It all began with all the attention on Inbee Park. To boldly go where no

:03:41. > :03:44.player has gone before and win four professional Majors in the same

:03:44. > :03:49.year. It seemed possible after the opening round, even with two shots

:03:49. > :03:55.going in the 16th a 69 was a good start. It is a fine opening round by

:03:55. > :03:59.Inbee Park. Choosing a fourth consecutive Major. But the American

:03:59. > :04:04.challenge was strong. Who better to do so than the world number two,

:04:04. > :04:08.Stacey Lewis, working her way around in 67. That is the way to do it. And

:04:08. > :04:14.Morgan Pressel went one better, sharing lead with the late finisher

:04:14. > :04:24.from Sweden. And it was a strong close from Catriona Matthew, the

:04:24. > :04:26.

:04:27. > :04:35.2009 champion, with birdies on the 17th and 18th. Well cold.-- cold.

:04:35. > :04:45.Round two, and once more things were benign. A sexy sex was waiting. Two

:04:45. > :04:48.

:04:48. > :04:53.Eagles came in the front nine. -- 66. The slight figure of 19 -- MA

:04:53. > :05:01.Yeon Choi sailed into a one-shot lead with an impressive 5-under par.

:05:01. > :05:10.Go on. And it did. Wind assisted. That score was found by Jee Young

:05:10. > :05:15.Lee and Suzann Pettersson. But Inbee Park fell foul of the draw. And the

:05:15. > :05:18.dream of four Majors was lifting away. Then the wind blew so hard

:05:18. > :05:22.that it led to the day out of the week. Saturday disappeared and it

:05:22. > :05:28.was all to be done on Sunday instead. A long day, an early start

:05:28. > :05:32.beginning with a sandstorm. Meanwhile, there was a charge from

:05:32. > :05:36.Catriona Matthew. How to better her birdie birdie finish of the first

:05:36. > :05:39.day? She found a way on the 18th. And suddenly there was a thought

:05:39. > :05:43.that the winner would come not from the East or west, from closer to

:05:43. > :05:48.home. But it was the Americans who would lead going into the final

:05:48. > :05:54.round. Stacy Lewis old lead two of the last three are still sneaked

:05:54. > :06:01.under 70. -- bogeyed. And Morgan Pressel, the youngest ever to win a

:06:01. > :06:09.Major six years ago. Now at The Old Course imposition to win again.

:06:09. > :06:13.holed by Morgan Pressel. But in right at the top with 71. -- putting

:06:13. > :06:18.her. It is all change at the top as we head into the final round. Morgan

:06:18. > :06:24.Pressel seeking her second Major title with a one-shot advantage.

:06:24. > :06:29.Then four at 7-under, including MA Yeon Choi and Suzann Pettersson. But

:06:29. > :06:33.the most startling move was made by Catriona Matthew, the last non-Asian

:06:33. > :06:37.winner of this title, beginning the third round eight shots off the pace

:06:37. > :06:42.and finding herself only three behind after that superb round of

:06:42. > :06:45.68. As for Inbee Park, a 74 this morning put level for the

:06:45. > :06:50.Championship and nine shots behind Morgan Pressel. Grand Slam ambitions

:06:50. > :06:54.are hanging by a fins -- thin thread. It could be quite an

:06:54. > :06:57.afternoon but here is how our afternoon but here is how our

:06:57. > :07:03.leaders viewed the situation after afternoon but here is how our

:07:03. > :07:13.leaders viewed Eyeshot 3-over today. I did not hit any bunkers, but it

:07:13. > :07:16.

:07:16. > :07:20.was a nightmare. Every bunker was not a good life. -- good life. It

:07:20. > :07:27.was not easy and there but I'd have to go one more around, so why will

:07:27. > :07:32.do my best this afternoon. I was up at 430, so it was still

:07:32. > :07:39.dark out. And you it was going to be a long day. I did a good job today

:07:39. > :07:46.and they feel good about the round. 69, write in touch. A couple of

:07:46. > :07:54.slips, but how do you view your position? Overall, eyeshot even par

:07:54. > :07:59.on the back nine. 17 is basically par-5 today. Do not feel like those

:07:59. > :08:05.bookies will hurt me. -- I do not feel like those bogeys will hurt me.

:08:05. > :08:11.I've got a couple of hours to rest up. You have to think so much over

:08:12. > :08:16.every shot so by the end of the day, I do not know I will be thinking.

:08:16. > :08:26.Have a team or bowls of some intense focus and they should be OK. Ash I

:08:26. > :08:29.

:08:29. > :08:33.have 18 or more holes. I wonder if the vibes are returning? is -- gave

:08:33. > :08:38.myself a really good chance and it felt good to be back in contention.

:08:38. > :08:42.Especially at such a special place, Saint Andrews. I am playing well. As

:08:42. > :08:47.for conditions, it is going to be very breezy again. Nothing like the

:08:47. > :08:52.wind speed that we experienced yesterday. Gusts of up to 25 mph by

:08:52. > :08:57.mid-afternoon. This is once again going to be a real test of patience

:08:57. > :09:01.and nerve. There has been time to cut new pin positions for the final

:09:01. > :09:05.round. You might remember that Ken was almost blown into the yesterday

:09:05. > :09:07.at the far end of the course full stop they will be out on the course

:09:07. > :09:14.again this afternoon but right now he is surveying the scene from on

:09:14. > :09:20.high will stop --. This must be the best view of the house -- in the

:09:20. > :09:24.house. It looks magnificent from here.

:09:24. > :09:29.There is the beach where the kids are playing with their dogs and the

:09:29. > :09:37.beachball. And the RNA clubhouse with a make up the rules of the

:09:37. > :09:40.game. -- where they make up. What a sight on a sunny day. But if you are

:09:40. > :09:47.a golfer, this has got to be the greatest view in golf. Feast your

:09:47. > :09:54.eyes on this. That is just fantastic. The first tee, and the

:09:54. > :09:59.18th coming back. Fantastic. It is going to be a day of, can you make a

:09:59. > :10:04.few birdies on the opening nine holes? The wind is freshening of the

:10:04. > :10:08.day has gone by. It is going to be tough. Anybody breaking par today

:10:08. > :10:14.will be delighted. Of course, trying to win on the old course is nothing

:10:14. > :10:19.like it. Just have a look at that. I cannot wait to get out there. And

:10:19. > :10:22.neither can we. It has been a long day for

:10:22. > :10:28.everybody, as you heard. The players and officials have been up since

:10:28. > :10:31.before dawn. With this 36 hole finish, there has been no time to

:10:31. > :10:35.redraw the field so the pairings will be exactly as they were at the

:10:35. > :10:38.start of the third round. And that means that the winner might emerge

:10:38. > :10:42.from way down the field. We will have to keep a close watch on how

:10:42. > :10:44.things are developing. It promises to be pretty exciting. But it

:10:44. > :10:48.to be pretty exciting. But it reminder of some of the key And in

:10:48. > :10:54.whose company they will be playing. The world number two, Stacy Lewis,

:10:54. > :10:59.the last non-Asian winner of a Major two and a half years ago. She was 15

:10:59. > :11:05.minutes after the lights -- after the likes of Catriona Matthew. In

:11:05. > :11:08.the company of Hee Young Park, who began two shots from the top. Will

:11:08. > :11:12.the winner emerge from this dual? Suzann Pettersson and Morgan

:11:12. > :11:17.Pressel. Both won their only Major is six years ago. It has been a

:11:17. > :11:22.while. And our final pairing sees the charming now union -- MA Yeon

:11:22. > :11:29.Choi and meaty Sankey, trying to become the second Japanese woman in

:11:29. > :11:32.history to land a Major title. -- Miki Saiki. The match got going at

:11:32. > :11:37.high noon and things looked OK for Katrina Matthew. She started three

:11:37. > :11:43.shots off the pace. Unfortunately, there was a bogey on the third and a

:11:43. > :11:50.triple at the fifth. That knocked off centre. There was a birdie four

:11:50. > :11:57.her, on the ninth. 3-under at that point. Five shots off the pace.

:11:57. > :12:02.Let's confirm the situation as it stands. The is a bit of movement,

:12:02. > :12:06.not much of it forward, it has to be said. Morgan Pressel has dropped a

:12:06. > :12:15.shot at the second. She finds herself 1-over after two calls. She

:12:15. > :12:20.still leads by one. Hee Young Park has made a move, steady through two

:12:20. > :12:24.calls. Stacy Lewis, also, 2-over for her round. Further down, Catriona

:12:24. > :12:30.Matthew, still in touch. She has an awful what to do on the last nine

:12:30. > :12:34.holes. So where will the winner come from? We suspect it is probably not

:12:34. > :12:39.going to be any of these players. Cristie Kerr has had the best round

:12:39. > :12:47.of the day, the double Major winner from America. Home with 3-under par.

:12:47. > :12:50.Good playing from her. Also, always a fearsome contender. Part of the

:12:50. > :13:00.Solheim cup team for America. Those teams will be announced at the close

:13:00. > :13:01.

:13:01. > :13:08.of play. Let's get out there, shall we? There is a lot to be decided.

:13:08. > :13:18.Here is our leader, Morgan Pressel. With a birdie putt. 8-under, just

:13:18. > :13:18.

:13:18. > :13:22.one ahead. By fancy that will be plenty of drama this afternoon. The

:13:22. > :13:32.Windies freshening, as Ken was saying. The course is not easy by

:13:32. > :13:32.

:13:32. > :13:37.any means. Ken Brown will be following this match. It is breezy.

:13:37. > :13:40.There are grey clouds coming over for the first time. It is going to

:13:40. > :13:46.be a real challenge. To win a Major is brilliant but to win a Major on

:13:46. > :13:51.The Old Course, you are a legend. Many things to be looked at today

:13:51. > :14:01.but someone will be the champ. It could be Suzann Pettersson. This

:14:01. > :14:06.4-part on the second. -- for par. The trick is to get the second shot

:14:06. > :14:15.close, as close as possible as you can it sounds daft to say that, but

:14:15. > :14:20.it is easy to have 35 yard par is all the time. -- putts. You do not

:14:20. > :14:24.play badly but you keep dropping shots, which can be frustrating. We

:14:24. > :14:28.have had an e-mail saying, is this the only golf course two the answer

:14:28. > :14:34.is no. The parkland course has a reputation of being wet. They have

:14:34. > :14:44.dried out and it is absolutely splendid now. -- they have dried it

:14:44. > :14:45.

:14:45. > :14:55.out. She needs a few more numbers to offset that triple she had at the

:14:55. > :15:02.

:15:02. > :15:07.fifth. I was just saying, this is a there Matthew by Matthew. Miki Saiki

:15:07. > :15:17.started with a six on the first toll, dumping her second shot into

:15:17. > :15:34.

:15:34. > :15:38.the burn, she did not manage to get sophisticated golf, but it is as

:15:38. > :15:42.golf started out to be - on the links land between the shore and the

:15:42. > :15:46.arable land, and they knocked a few balls around, the old shepherds,

:15:46. > :15:52.probably with a round pebble and a crook, messing about, and it

:15:53. > :16:02.developed into this. Window virtually stayed across on this

:16:03. > :16:03.

:16:03. > :16:52.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 49 seconds

:16:52. > :16:58.fourth hole, 215 yards to carry. -- hitters, so she has got to get a

:16:58. > :17:03.good solid hit year. If the ball pitches in the hump, it will take

:17:03. > :17:11.on, but she needs to strike it well to hit the fairway. I think she's

:17:12. > :17:17.apprised everyone with her tee shot which hit the road, but you was only

:17:17. > :17:23.a handful of yards off the green. -- she's surprised. Na Yeon Choi back

:17:23. > :17:28.on the third. Attempting to take out the under relation with a

:17:28. > :17:36.high-flying shot, and a lovely braking action by the golf ball. --

:17:36. > :17:46.undulation. Stacy Lewis. Just a couple behind, this is for par at

:17:46. > :17:53.

:17:53. > :18:03.fifth and the 18th. Expander, but not the best of starts. -- six

:18:03. > :18:05.

:18:05. > :18:11.very good Japanese coach. They have not always seen eye to eye, but

:18:11. > :18:18.after one of her recent wins, she bought him an expensive bottle of

:18:18. > :18:22.red -- 4000 dollars worth. They are obviously getting on better now. Oh,

:18:22. > :18:32.and dad would have preferred to see that one drop! That will be a par

:18:32. > :18:47.

:18:47. > :18:57.three or four shots behind a chance to claw their way closer, but nobody

:18:57. > :18:59.

:18:59. > :19:09.has nipped in so far. Hee Young Park. She won last month in the

:19:09. > :19:17.

:19:17. > :19:20.United States, had two victories people's pick for this

:19:20. > :19:30.championship. She has been the top American player for the last number

:19:30. > :19:33.

:19:33. > :19:37.about the fact that you can go left at St Andrews, but ideally, if you

:19:37. > :19:44.can play every tee shot ten or 12 yards in from the right-hand side

:19:44. > :19:53.the fairway, it makes the cause shots easier. After that delightful

:19:53. > :20:03.page, Na Yeon for a chance of birdie. Oh, well holed, well holed!

:20:03. > :20:15.

:20:15. > :20:25.hole. A very exciting round this morning, two under for the

:20:25. > :20:25.

:20:25. > :21:42.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 49 seconds

:21:42. > :21:45.She with the fluorescent ball, this flag there that the wind is

:21:45. > :21:50.freshening, sweeping across the golf course. It has not changed thus far

:21:50. > :21:56.pretty well over the last two days. It moves around a fraction. She

:21:56. > :22:05.dropped a stroke at the last hole. The fifth is a monster par five.

:22:05. > :22:14.Only two fives year, the fifth and 14th. This is Nicole Castrale for

:22:14. > :22:21.par. The two-time US Solheim Cup. Well done. She has not played so

:22:21. > :22:31.much in recent years. She had shoulder surgery and then, in 2011,

:22:31. > :22:58.

:22:58. > :23:08.Pressel, 169 yards, the wind off the left, going with a 7-iron. The

:23:08. > :23:22.

:23:22. > :23:32.bunker guarding the left of the the left, not a bad result. A good

:23:32. > :23:34.

:23:34. > :23:41.actually went around the chicane edge of the bunker, she could not

:23:41. > :23:48.have played it any better than that. Edison is on the upslope. --

:23:48. > :23:51.Pettersen. She has got the power to get it a bit higher and landed

:23:51. > :24:01.softer, but it is still a very high tariff shot, flirting with the

:24:01. > :24:05.

:24:05. > :24:14.manageable, this, but you have to have a go at that bunker, and it is

:24:14. > :24:24.make something on the front line with easy blocks and hope it does

:24:24. > :24:32.

:24:32. > :24:37.not fall down on the back nine. -- pitching another five or ten yards

:24:37. > :24:47.up the green, but it is not too bad at all. Any time you are forced to

:24:47. > :25:01.

:25:01. > :25:04.fly the ball high, those cross that flat area, a few gorse bushes,

:25:04. > :25:10.no trees. That is the difference between here and the parkland

:25:10. > :25:20.course, a couple or three miles away from here. Well worth a visit now

:25:20. > :25:51.

:25:51. > :25:56.eight under. But you see, these players are still in... Well,

:25:56. > :25:59.probably getting a little bit out of touch, but it is possible to have a

:25:59. > :26:09.golden spell, somebody get into a corner of a bunker which is

:26:09. > :26:11.

:26:11. > :26:17.impossible to get out of. Mamiko Higa. It is rolling well. She has

:26:17. > :26:27.won a couple of times this year on the Japanese LPGA. Here is Catriona

:26:27. > :26:27.

:26:27. > :26:37.at the 11th. The ball did roll down, two or three yards down the Hill. It

:26:37. > :26:41.

:26:41. > :26:51.scruffy, it has been in that area for much of the championship, the

:26:51. > :26:53.

:26:53. > :27:03.the course, so it dries out and it takes a bit of a pounding from the

:27:03. > :27:19.

:27:19. > :27:25.afternoon. That has got to come in a letter from left to right, just too

:27:25. > :27:31.late. -- come in a little. But she is a player who could get in

:27:31. > :27:41.relatively early. In fact, either of the players from this group, Park

:27:41. > :27:45.

:27:45. > :27:49.and Lewis, they could post the score and there you see it. She has got

:27:49. > :27:56.three other top-ten finishes as well this year, so she is quite used to

:27:56. > :28:06.the letters being up there in the latter stages of a tournament.

:28:06. > :28:31.

:28:31. > :28:39.Pettersen now, a birdie putt at the is needed! That is a very timely

:28:39. > :28:49.birdie. That move is said to seven under, one off the lead. -- that

:28:49. > :29:20.

:29:21. > :29:29.through our effects microphones out on the course. But it is not a cold

:29:29. > :29:35.wind. Thank goodness! This is Lizette Salas. Solheim cup

:29:35. > :29:40.player, Maureen, do you think? she is on the cusp, there are two or

:29:40. > :29:50.three of them for the last four places. She looks a tidy player to

:29:50. > :30:09.

:30:09. > :30:15.top tens. Just one missed cup this year. She reminds me a great deal of

:30:15. > :30:20.Nancy Lopez in the way she moves around the course. In her demeanour.

:17:05. > :17:12.early and came in with a 69, the best round, one of the best rounds

:17:12. > :17:17.of the last two rounds. Very good playing, but it has been difficult,

:17:17. > :17:20.the conditions have been very trying, with the wind blowing. The

:17:20. > :17:28.first day, particularly, was very benign, and they took advantage of

:17:29. > :17:37.it. And then the wind did blow, the greens speeded up. You can see the

:20:26. > :20:29.this beautiful trophy over to our champion? What a great moment it

:20:29. > :20:34.must be, do you have the words to describe what this moment feels like

:20:34. > :20:38.and what it means to you? It is unbelievable, you know, it all

:20:38. > :20:41.happened so fast at the end, you are fighting for every shot, and then

:20:41. > :20:47.all of a sudden you make a couple of birdies and it is over with. It was

:20:47. > :20:50.an unbelievably hard day, but this is a pretty good result! Your last

:20:50. > :21:00.competition is an amp that was the discovery, you had a fantastic run

:21:00. > :21:01.

:21:01. > :21:06.on the old the Old Course. Your last competition as an amateur was the,

:21:06. > :21:10.you had a fantastic run on the Old Course. I love the history here, we

:21:10. > :21:14.had such a great game plan for how to play with the different winds,

:21:14. > :21:19.and I felt so comfortable here, I almost felt like it was meant to be

:21:19. > :21:23.a little bit. Tell me about the finish, it was extraordinary, the

:21:23. > :21:28.second shot off the 17th, one of the best we have seen all week. One of

:21:28. > :21:34.the best of my career, it was a 5-iron, I do not know how far I had

:21:34. > :21:37.it, but we were trying to hit it about 160 in the air, and it worked

:21:37. > :21:42.out perfectly on the slope. I thought, if I could get to seven, I

:21:42. > :21:46.would make the play-off, but once we made birdie there, we both said, one

:21:46. > :21:51.more. That was your moment, did you think it would be enough at that

:21:51. > :21:55.moment when you hold out at the 18th? I thought eight and would be

:21:55. > :21:59.pretty hard to beat, the last holes were playing so hard, with the

:21:59. > :22:04.pressure, and it was doable, so I tried to stay in a moment and be

:22:04. > :22:08.ready for the play-off if it happened. You were up at 4:30am, how

:22:08. > :22:12.did you manage to keep your focus and concentration? You know, we

:22:12. > :22:17.talked about it. It went by pretty quickly, the pace of play was going,

:22:17. > :22:21.you have to focus on every shot, you couldn't think about anything else.

:22:21. > :22:27.It went by pretty quick! You have already won one major, does this

:22:27. > :22:31.topic? I don't know, that first major was pretty cool, but this one

:22:31. > :22:35.is high up the list. To be a champion at the home of golf, it was

:22:35. > :22:40.the finish of a champion, many congratulations to you. Thank you

:22:40. > :22:46.very much. PETER: Many congratulations from all

:22:46. > :22:53.of us, here they come, how they do it, I don't know! The wind blowing,

:22:53. > :23:03.they landed on target. He is another one coming down. Amazing! Can he do

:23:03. > :23:10.

:23:10. > :23:18.it? Just drifting a little bit, this is more difficult than a three

:23:18. > :23:28.foot putt. Here he comes, look at that, gentle. Don't hurry things.

:23:28. > :23:32.

:23:32. > :23:38.They used to thump into the ground, target, will he do it? Look at that!

:26:00. > :26:06.next year, and I will be there, but smiling faces, some nice fashion

:26:06. > :26:13.statements, which I think is always nice and this bit of pageantry at

:26:13. > :26:17.the end, in front of the hotel. It really is something a bit special.

:26:17. > :26:23.The resuscitating goes on, and new things come. I am so pleased they

:26:23. > :26:27.resuscitated Hamilton Hall, the building that started out as a hotel

:26:27. > :26:33.in 1880 or something, it has been a treat to be here. I hope you have

:26:33. > :26:36.enjoyed it. Well, Peter, we have certainly enjoyed it, an absolute

:26:36. > :26:41.treat the comeback to the home of golf, and especially when you get

:26:41. > :26:45.the last hour and a half of a major championship that is so intense with

:26:45. > :26:49.so many changes of direction on the leaderboard. Stacy Lewis more than

:26:49. > :26:52.deserves a win, Maureen Madill is with me in the studio, I have

:26:52. > :27:02.managed to hightail it back up the ass the para douches to doing their

:27:02. > :27:02.

:27:02. > :27:07.of eight she was wearing a back brace and had to have an operation,

:27:07. > :27:13.a piece of steel in her back, five screws, she did not know if she

:27:13. > :27:17.would walk, an extraordinary feat. You talk about sports men and women

:27:17. > :27:22.having a spine of steel, but nobody has that's like Stacy Lewis. The

:27:22. > :27:26.thing was, when she was a child, the only time she did not wear the back

:27:26. > :27:30.brace was when she was playing golf, and she herself has said it

:27:30. > :27:34.was one of the escapes, and that is why she kept wanting to play golf,

:27:34. > :27:40.because it got her out of this terribly restrictive brace. But,

:27:40. > :27:44.Hazel, she was five under par for the first 36 holes, three under for

:27:44. > :27:47.the second 36. That's three under is what has one over this

:27:47. > :27:51.championship, because dreadful conditions, testing conditions all

:27:51. > :27:58.the time, she was immense. As we said in the interview, a long day,

:27:58. > :28:03.all of these women, but when we review her last 18 holes here, it is

:28:03. > :28:13.starting to unravel a little bit. This was at the 11th, when the wind

:28:13. > :28:14.

:28:14. > :28:18.was whistling on the most exposed caddies earlier in the week and I

:28:18. > :28:25.said, what is the key to winning here? All of them were of the mind

:28:25. > :28:31.that your Mrs are not bad, and that might sound negative, but she had

:28:31. > :28:36.taken a good club selection. She was well back. This was the Eagle putt

:28:36. > :28:41.at the 14th, just slipping by. But by this point, she was beginning to

:28:41. > :28:47.get back on the wagon. She picked up a shot there, and as we discussed

:28:47. > :28:53.with her at the time, what a strike this was. 5-iron, I mean, you have

:28:53. > :28:57.got to nail it to get that close, absolutely nail it, and she did. And

:28:57. > :29:02.that looks tiny, it is probably three or four feat with a little bit

:29:02. > :29:05.of right-to-left break, but this was gutsy, too. She's not really

:29:05. > :29:12.familiar with putting short of the green as she did, and that one was

:29:12. > :29:16.immense. And then that nervous wait. What was significant, not just for

:29:16. > :29:21.Stacy, she was the last non-Asian winner of a women's major two and a

:29:21. > :29:26.half years ago, which was a maiden victory in the Kraft Nabisco, and

:29:26. > :29:30.she now breaks this run of ten. Housing and a moment is that as the

:29:30. > :29:35.balance of power perhaps begins to change once again? -- how

:29:35. > :29:39.significant. I think, after Lorena Ochoa retired and so on, Cristie

:29:39. > :29:43.Kerr shortly afterwards became world number one, and she was the first

:29:43. > :29:46.American of there for some considerable time. Stacy Lewis has

:29:46. > :29:50.stepped forward and taken on the mantle of the best American player,

:29:50. > :29:59.really leading the battle against the Korean and Asian invasion into

:29:59. > :30:01.America. You know, LPGA Player of the Year, the first American to win

:30:01. > :30:04.that title for 19 years, since Beth Danielle. So you know, she is

:30:04. > :30:08.becoming a little bit of a talisman for them, and she is a good leader.

:30:08. > :30:12.In the last time we see her, she will be leading the Americans

:30:12. > :30:16.against the Europeans at the Sol I'm cup. That is coming up very soon. We

:30:16. > :30:18.thought there might have been a Korean winner today, because Na Yeon

:30:19. > :30:25.Choi had excellent chances and a three shot lead at the 13th. Let's

:30:25. > :30:28.just review some of the important moments from around, because she set

:30:28. > :30:36.of very well. This was her birdie chance at the third. Yes, such

:30:36. > :30:41.wonderful balance and focus, I mean, I have been a long time at the mire

:30:41. > :30:47.of Na Yeon Choi. He does not really have any weaknesses in her game. I

:30:47. > :30:50.am sure she has never swung a putter that far back in her life! They have

:30:50. > :30:57.really just had a glance at these greens, they are extreme the

:30:57. > :31:00.difficult. That is why I think that putter will never win anything major

:31:00. > :31:05.around you, because you need leverage. But that was a great one,

:31:05. > :31:08.just keeping her in the mix, and she suddenly, without having done

:31:08. > :31:18.anything too much, had a three shot lead, and then it all started to

:31:18. > :31:20.

:31:20. > :31:24.slip away. This one went way right on her. Things were beginning to

:31:24. > :31:32.unravel and suddenly she was one shot behind as she came to the 17th.

:31:32. > :31:36.An impossible task, really, without the goal at the last. -- with an

:31:36. > :31:40.eagle at the last. I felt that the winner might come from somebody who

:31:40. > :31:44.finished 40 minutes ahead of the last groups. I must admit I was

:31:44. > :31:49.hoping it would have been Catriona Matthew, a little bit of bias

:31:49. > :31:58.there! But when the score is. , it is too difficult to chase in these

:31:58. > :32:05.conditions on this golf course. And when you push it here, you run up

:32:05. > :32:08.big numbers. A two shot win was certainly not comfortable. We must

:32:08. > :32:12.mention the endeavours of Inbee Park, try to become the first

:32:12. > :32:16.professional golfer, male or female, to win four consecutive Majors. It

:32:16. > :32:21.has not happened but my goodness, she has had an amazing year. And

:32:21. > :32:25.still the chance of winning the last Major of the year. I think she will

:32:25. > :32:29.enjoy this now that it is over. That is how I feel about it. It was an

:32:29. > :32:34.extraordinary week. She had a lot to content with. It was not a good

:32:34. > :32:39.performance by her standards but it was solid. It was indeed. And Lydia

:32:39. > :32:44.Ko, the amateur, the leading amateur in five of the six Majors she has

:32:44. > :32:50.entered. She is only 16 and is ranked at number 70 in the world.

:32:50. > :32:54.feel sorry for Georgia hole. I think it is a shame that they do not share

:32:54. > :32:57.it in some way, that it is done on a spurious count back. But that is

:32:57. > :33:02.just the way it is. We were disappointed yesterday when the high

:33:02. > :33:06.wind blew away the chance of seeing good golf yesterday. But overall,

:33:06. > :33:12.how do you feel that women's golf has been portrayed this weekend?

:33:12. > :33:17.positive do you feel about that? -- how positive. I feel positive and I

:33:17. > :33:19.know the girls adore, near. This is so special to them all. Sometimes we

:33:20. > :33:25.think the youngsters have no sense of history that is patiently not

:33:25. > :33:29.true. It has been a great week and I have enjoyed spending it with you.

:33:29. > :33:34.Let me remind you that the world swimming champion chips will be

:33:34. > :33:40.coming up very shortly. -- Championships. Plenty to enjoy the

:33:40. > :33:43.in Spain. We started the week talking about Inbee Park but it is
