:00:28. > :00:38.Excellent footwork. Olympic champion! A Rebecca Adlington is

:00:38. > :00:51.

:00:51. > :01:01.Kelly Holmes for Great Britain! A wonderful performance. Absolutely

:01:01. > :01:05.

:01:05. > :01:09.brilliant. It is bold! It is bold! Welcome back to Tokyo, hosting the

:01:09. > :01:12.World Gymnastics Championships. It is proving to be one of the best

:01:12. > :01:16.ever. Last night it was the men's team final and it was a competition

:01:16. > :01:20.that went right down to the wire. There was a Cold War for medals

:01:20. > :01:25.between America and Russia. And would it be a Japanese or Chinese

:01:25. > :01:34.takeaway? Whatever it was, it was the ultimate game of winner stays

:01:34. > :01:44.Japan needs 0.6 from somewhere. wonderful performance. The crowd

:01:44. > :01:56.

:01:56. > :02:03.are on their feet. The tension the Olympic champion has enabled

:02:03. > :02:13.China to retain their title. All eyes on him and he has a massive

:02:13. > :02:31.

:02:31. > :02:35.America. Kohei Uchimura has done could not clinch it in front of the

:02:35. > :02:40.home crowd but it was thoroughly entertaining. Today it is the turn

:02:40. > :02:43.of the women in the all-arounder competition, individuals competing

:02:44. > :02:48.on four pieces of apparatus. This is the hotel where the gymnasts are

:02:48. > :02:52.staying. I have come here for coffee with Beth Tweddle to get her

:02:52. > :02:59.take on the top 24. To set our minds at rest, you are not

:02:59. > :03:04.competing in the all-arounder. cannot compete in that. You do look

:03:04. > :03:10.very relaxed! What are your thoughts? It will be interesting. I

:03:10. > :03:18.think that we will go in as favourite, because we qualified

:03:18. > :03:24.first. They will be battling at the top. But the American is looking

:03:24. > :03:34.very strong as well. Coming into this, of Russia will have been

:03:34. > :03:40.sorry to have lost at the Europeans. Their top performer is out of the

:03:40. > :03:43.all rounder, so everybody will be thinking they could do it, but the

:03:43. > :03:49.Americans would have liked the showdown. They are looking

:03:49. > :03:53.incredibly confident. That team final was just phenomenal. Yes,

:03:53. > :03:57.ourselves and America were the only teams going 12 for 12 and that is

:03:57. > :04:00.really hard. They had even more pressure on them because they were

:04:00. > :04:04.going for the world title. When we have been training with them, they

:04:05. > :04:14.are exactly the same. They banged the routines out, thank you, move

:04:15. > :04:16.

:04:17. > :04:22.on to the next piece. They are there to win. So good we be riding

:04:22. > :04:26.of the confidence? Victoria Kmova had some disappointment when she

:04:27. > :04:30.fell on the beam and messed up on the floor but she is a first-year

:04:30. > :04:34.senior and it takes time to get used to the pressure. I think she

:04:34. > :04:42.will have been thinking that everybody is watching us. She has

:04:42. > :04:47.had a tough year. She has only just made it back for the championships.

:04:47. > :04:52.And Hannah Whelan, she is 13th, I think. That is right. Can she get

:04:52. > :04:56.into the top 12? She has been training really hard. She has been

:04:56. > :05:00.consistent throughout the year. Hopefully she can go out there

:05:00. > :05:06.tonight. She made a couple of areas in the team final and was still up

:05:07. > :05:11.there. We hope that tonight will be her night to break into the top 12.

:05:11. > :05:15.We can see the line-up for the women's all-around final. This will

:05:16. > :05:23.be individual gymnasts competing Through four pieces of apparatus.

:05:23. > :05:28.That is the top group, the top qualifiers. Victoria Kmova was the

:05:28. > :05:33.highest qualifier for this competition. There will be a

:05:33. > :05:38.tightly fought battle between her and Jordyn Wieber. Yes, very

:05:38. > :05:43.tightly fought. They are the two gymnasts with the big star of

:05:43. > :05:51.values. If they do not make mistakes, people cannot catch them.

:05:51. > :05:56.Further down the field, we have the Brazilian, 24 gymnasts in all. This

:05:56. > :06:02.is not necessarily the top 24 gymnasts in the world. You are only

:06:02. > :06:08.allowed two their country and you have got China, Japan and America,

:06:08. > :06:11.who have qualified four gymnasts in that top number. Taking that into

:06:11. > :06:15.account and removing those gymnasts from the top 24 that are not

:06:15. > :06:19.allowed to be here, we have Hannah Whelan in 13th place, as far as

:06:19. > :06:25.Great Britain is concerned. So a wonderful performance from her and

:06:25. > :06:29.she will be looking to get into the golden top 12. Very much so. Hannah

:06:29. > :06:33.Whelan would have qualified whatever the ruling. You are right,

:06:33. > :06:37.the very powerful nations, all of their gymnasts are strong, and they

:06:38. > :06:44.are only allowed the top two to qualify. They are in effect

:06:44. > :06:47.fighting within their team to be getting the right to be in the

:06:47. > :06:51.individual final. The top qualifiers will go through in the

:06:51. > :06:55.same group, which shows us how things are lying, gymnast a gymnast.

:06:55. > :07:00.It is very rare for people from a lower group to jump up, but it does

:07:00. > :07:05.happen. Usually the winner will come from the top group. It is

:07:05. > :07:14.unusual for somebody in the second group to get into the rankings. But

:07:14. > :07:18.it has happened. These are the top six gymnasts and this is group one.

:07:18. > :07:22.Victoria Kmova from Russia. Interesting to see what happens to

:07:22. > :07:27.her. She had a nightmare in the team final. She did incredibly well

:07:27. > :07:35.in qualification but she kind of lost it for Russia. She did, really.

:07:35. > :07:40.Hannah Whelan as well. Victoria Kmova had surgery on her ankle in

:07:40. > :07:44.May, so she is relatively on the way back to full fitness. I think

:07:44. > :07:49.that day one took quite a lot out of her. She was not quite able to

:07:49. > :07:54.fire at the same level on day two. She had a bit of a rest and she

:07:54. > :08:03.will no doubt be keen to put that behind her and prove herself today.

:08:04. > :08:12.All eyes on the stock group again. -- this top group. Her first World

:08:12. > :08:16.Championships as well, which is a big deal. Especially because third

:08:16. > :08:20.-- her team-mate is not in this competition. Perhaps she will not

:08:20. > :08:24.have that weight on her shoulders tonight and we will see more of

:08:24. > :08:34.what she is capable of. To replace that team-mate is a real challenge.

:08:34. > :08:47.

:08:47. > :08:54.Hannah Whelan is in the third group and they will be competing on beam.

:08:54. > :08:58.This gymnast, Ana Porgras of Romania, she could look into the

:08:58. > :09:04.top group. She had some areas in qualification, but she has got

:09:04. > :09:13.those qualities. Indeed, she was World Champion on beam at the last

:09:13. > :09:17.World Championships. She will get off to a great start. It would be

:09:17. > :09:27.good if she could leapfrog, it would add some spice to the

:09:27. > :09:36.

:09:36. > :09:40.this top group. Huang Quishuang and Yao Jinnan. Lots of gymnasts are

:09:40. > :09:45.going for the wrist support. That power that they are all putting in

:09:45. > :09:50.to convert the speed from the run up into the height, that really

:09:50. > :09:54.takes its toll on your wrists. and they find it mostly when they

:09:54. > :09:58.planned their hands in the round- off before the platform.

:09:58. > :10:01.Particularly their second hand down takes a lot of weight and pressure.

:10:01. > :10:10.They have that match at the front of the springboard to help to

:10:10. > :10:20.absorb the pressure. And we call them panda pause. They are not

:10:20. > :10:20.

:10:20. > :10:30.support but they stop the wrists taking too much pressure. We have

:10:30. > :10:37.just glimpsed the scoreboard. This vault is 5-8 difficulty. It will be

:10:37. > :10:42.marked out of 15.8. We will see a lot of these gymnasts performing

:10:42. > :10:49.this vault. The straight somersault with a double twist. The board is

:10:49. > :10:59.set. Gin and yeah joiner. She competed on all of the apparatus to

:10:59. > :11:00.

:11:00. > :11:04.help China to that bronze medal in the team final. -- Yao Jinnan.

:11:04. > :11:14.was a beautiful performance. It had lived, Hyde, style and wonderful

:11:14. > :11:14.

:11:14. > :11:20.direction. -- height of. wonderful start for the 16 year-old.

:11:20. > :11:24.Her conversion is very effective. Very clean. Write down the middle.

:11:24. > :11:29.A terrific vault and the perfect way to start the competition. She

:11:29. > :11:35.is working hard to keep her legs together. Her shoulders are up on

:11:35. > :11:42.landing. Textbook stuff. We will be looking for a high executions go

:11:43. > :11:52.with that one. It is out of 15.8. - - High executioner score. She

:11:52. > :11:58.scored a high 14 in qualification. She will want more than that.

:11:58. > :12:04.not think the judges will be able to find too many deductions. It was

:12:04. > :12:09.high, perhaps not as long as some. They might find some deductions.

:12:09. > :12:19.Style, landing... We that take down the middle, you could see that it

:12:19. > :12:21.

:12:21. > :12:31.was dead straight. -- with that tape down the middle. She only gets

:12:31. > :12:41.

:12:41. > :12:51.qualifier. I can tell you now that her mother is standing just behind

:12:51. > :12:55.

:12:55. > :13:02.us. She is rocking to and fro with her hands grasped. Two-and-a-half

:13:02. > :13:11.twists, and she almost overcooked it. Just one place forwards.

:13:11. > :13:18.mother shouted out, a good job! left to seek to come and watch.

:13:18. > :13:22.That was out of 6.5. She can afford to have quite a few more deductions

:13:22. > :13:32.and I think there will be some because there was a bit of a step

:13:32. > :13:53.

:13:53. > :14:03.swings effortlessly. A second really strong handstand. Full

:14:03. > :14:18.

:14:18. > :14:23.terrible. That was short as well. You could see that she did not

:14:23. > :14:28.quite hit the handstand. She did not get her legs in properly. Such

:14:28. > :14:35.a disappointed gymnast. Japanese men had a nightmare on the

:14:35. > :14:42.bar yesterday. What a shame for her. She got bronze at the World

:14:42. > :14:45.Championships in London. I think it will be out of her grasp now.

:14:45. > :14:52.think so that you get straight back up. That really is a disappointment

:14:52. > :14:56.for her. The gymnasts have 30 seconds when they fought to put the

:14:56. > :15:06.chalk on their hands, and she should have taken that time. --

:15:06. > :15:26.

:15:27. > :15:31.The score to beat, 14.966. Best one posted by Yao Jinnan. She had

:15:31. > :15:38.deductions for that first vault, Jinnan. The judges are certainly

:15:38. > :15:48.having a long think about this. Well, she's gone ahead of her,

:15:48. > :16:27.

:16:27. > :16:37.It does look that way. A bit of blinking going on.

:16:37. > :16:46.

:16:47. > :16:56.The first three gymnasts were all hit all her angles correctly. Can't

:16:56. > :17:03.power herself through. Considering the scores are in for

:17:03. > :17:12.Wieber I don't know why she is being held so long. A big test for

:17:12. > :17:15.her. Before your first performance in a world final you don't want

:17:15. > :17:19.this. It's a double twist she's rehearsing.

:17:19. > :17:23.Just to let you know we are not in charge of the pictures here, or we

:17:23. > :17:33.would be showing you a lot more gymnastics but we quite enjoy

:17:33. > :17:37.

:17:37. > :17:47.watching her chalking up! Tur tur tur had made the bar final -- Koko

:17:47. > :17:58.

:17:58. > :18:03.Tsurumi had made the bar final. I'm going to start clapping in a

:18:03. > :18:13.minute. It is difficult to know why the delay really. All the scores

:18:13. > :18:13.

:18:13. > :18:17.are in. Hannah Whelan is waiting on the beam, so whether there's a

:18:17. > :18:27.technical hitch perhaps with the scoreboard, because there is no-one

:18:27. > :18:27.

:18:27. > :19:08.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:19:08. > :19:14.performance but it's a good dismount, twisting in the double

:19:14. > :19:23.and just a pace back. Yes, the Romanians lose a bit on style and

:19:23. > :19:28.technique to be -- on the asymmetric bars. I think this went

:19:28. > :19:36.the wrong way. She intended to come forward. That was a bit of an exit

:19:36. > :19:42.she had to get. She managed to make the reverse grip. She managed a

:19:42. > :19:47.high Jaeger, caught with nice arms that time. Slightly legs flickering

:19:48. > :19:52.apart. The judges are eagle eyed with their pens but a super

:19:52. > :19:57.dismount. Really well flighted and landed. Speaking of landing we are

:19:57. > :20:07.about to see Hannah Whelan land. She took a little hop forward on

:20:07. > :20:17.dismount but she got through the routine. Haidu scores 13.366.

:20:17. > :20:21.

:20:21. > :20:26.Haidu is in the second batch of six individual all-around med A

:20:26. > :20:32.really works on this run. Lifts up high. Lovely style on that double

:20:32. > :20:36.twist. Not the most difficult fault but really the most stylish. Super

:20:36. > :20:41.style and great composure considering she had to wait nearly

:20:42. > :20:46.five minutes on the runway. That was the first test she had tonight.

:20:46. > :20:52.She attacked really well. Measured her approach. Good, strong contact.

:20:52. > :20:55.Wraps the twist in just a tiny bit to the side of the line but very

:20:55. > :21:00.disciplined, pushing the shoulder down, wrapping the arms in, keeping

:21:00. > :21:10.the head nice and tight. Shoulders up on landing.

:21:10. > :21:24.

:21:24. > :21:29.Pleased to have got that under her belt. That's the one piece of

:21:29. > :21:36.apparatus she doesn't have better start value than Jordyn Wieber. She

:21:36. > :21:46.knew she was under pressure on this piece from the start.

:21:46. > :22:13.

:22:13. > :22:23.Hannah's score is in. 14.333. go, Huang Quishuang. A 19-year-old.

:22:23. > :22:43.

:22:43. > :22:53.She competed for China in the team she made contact with the platform.

:22:53. > :22:55.

:22:55. > :23:05.Magnifyed from the double twist. Elisabeth Seitz on the bars. Watch

:23:05. > :23:08.

:23:08. > :23:15.that move. Another first, fabulous - not a first but a beginning ga

:23:15. > :23:22.with full twist into a Jaeger. -- ginga with full twist into a

:23:22. > :23:28.Jaeger. The difficulty is enormous but

:23:28. > :23:33.there are deductions. You can see a little bit soggy through the back.

:23:33. > :23:37.A twist double back, but what difficulty packed into that routine.

:23:37. > :23:41.She had a go. She made the bar final at the last Championships,

:23:41. > :23:46.and that is why. Difficulty is the key.

:23:46. > :23:51.You can either go execution or difficulty. Pile it in, that's what

:23:51. > :23:56.I say. Really exciting stuff wasn't it Christine? Really exciting. She

:23:56. > :24:04.hasn't made bar final here, because for every difficult move she lost

:24:04. > :24:14.marks with the legs apart. 14.733. She is in fourth. Another

:24:14. > :24:39.

:24:39. > :24:49.team who was a member of the team in Beijing. Sites sites, 13.933 --

:24:49. > :24:53.Elisabeth Seitz, 13.933. A double twist but it was a bit

:24:53. > :24:57.loose legged and deep on the landing. These double twists,

:24:57. > :25:04.you've got make them clean, high, and stick to the carpet on the

:25:04. > :25:11.landing. She did a 14.8 in the team final.

:25:11. > :25:16.The thing is the start value goes up so well. Coachs are tempted to

:25:16. > :25:21.go for it even if there are some deductions, and you can see

:25:21. > :25:24.deductions here. The knees are a little bit bent.

:25:24. > :25:32.She just buckled a little on landing.

:25:32. > :25:42.You can see how low the niece were over the feet.

:25:42. > :25:43.

:25:43. > :25:48.15.716 is the highest score we've seen so far on vault, Jordyn Wieber.

:25:48. > :25:55.That is her big advantage, Jordyn Wieber, over the rest of the field.

:25:55. > :26:05.She has a vault that's worth so much more, 0.7 more. It is like she

:26:05. > :26:12.

:26:12. > :26:18.has that as a start. Bars will be International Gymnast about her

:26:18. > :26:23.being the only one of the Russian team not to be using hand guards.

:26:23. > :26:27.At the same time when there wasn't a lot of money in Russia the

:26:28. > :26:33.leather was impossible to get hold of. Many of the girls use these

:26:33. > :26:37.little bits of tape around the hands. It's a nightmare if you are

:26:37. > :26:47.a gymnast sharing apparatus with them, because they like the bars

:26:47. > :27:24.

:27:24. > :27:34.scraped flat. It is fifth for her her waiting and don't want to show

:27:34. > :27:34.

:27:34. > :27:38.us anything nels the meantime! -- else in the meantime!

:27:38. > :27:43.Fabulous height. Wonderful direction as well. She made sure

:27:43. > :27:51.everybody saw that was a dead landing. If she wants second she

:27:51. > :27:56.needs over 14.966. Well, out of 15.8, if they can keep the

:27:56. > :28:00.deductions down... The landing might have been dead, Christine,

:28:00. > :28:07.but her hopes are very much alive. Getting close to the top with this

:28:07. > :28:12.vault, a caerk. Nice and high, really -- a cracker. Nice and high,

:28:12. > :28:22.really tight. The landing, couldn't have wished for better. Plenty of

:28:22. > :28:49.

:28:49. > :28:52.top on the vault. A great start for It's Ana Porgras for Romania.

:28:52. > :29:02.She was beam world champion last year.

:29:02. > :29:13.

:29:13. > :29:23.It was her best piece in flips into a really well held vait

:29:23. > :30:02.

:30:02. > :30:09.somer Wall Street -- straight Gymnasts have to show the split

:30:09. > :30:18.position in leaps. She does that with ease.

:30:18. > :30:24.Two flips and a double pike. That was class beam work.

:30:24. > :30:34.She looks a lot different than she did in qualifying. Got her head

:30:34. > :30:34.

:30:34. > :31:29.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:31:29. > :31:39.together and is back to the Ana second! Just behind her team-mate,

:31:39. > :31:39.

:31:40. > :31:48.Jordyn Wieber, winning the field at the moment. Ana Porgras has just

:31:48. > :31:57.come in. It is challenging for a medal. Ana Porgras, 15.1, takes her

:31:57. > :32:05.into third. Yao Jinnan is down into 4th. Look at No. 8! Hannah Whelan.

:32:05. > :32:15.A solid start from her. Especially as that is the beam score and the

:32:15. > :32:15.

:32:15. > :32:24.vault usually carries a higher score. Venessa Ferrari will be

:32:24. > :32:34.looking for a top 10 spot if she can. Lauren Mitchell is

:32:34. > :32:35.

:32:35. > :33:21.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:33:21. > :33:25.uncharacteristically at 23rd. She seconds for each gymnast, and you

:33:25. > :33:29.get a three minute warm-up as you move around the apparatus. Just a

:33:29. > :33:38.quick time to get a quick feel of it before your performance. Hannah

:33:38. > :33:41.Whelan moves over to floor. 14.1 in a team final. She did incredibly

:33:42. > :33:45.well for the team, as did all of the members, to get the fifth-place

:33:45. > :33:50.finish. I was talking to Beth Tweddle earlier, and you could

:33:50. > :33:55.never have predicted it. The Japanese did not have a great

:33:55. > :34:00.competition, to be fair. That kind of helped them into 5th place.

:34:00. > :34:05.think the Japanese have peaked for the first day of competition. They

:34:05. > :34:10.found it difficult to get going since then. The British girls

:34:10. > :34:20.prepared very well. They have been together for six weeks and they

:34:20. > :34:22.

:34:22. > :34:27.lots of routines. They were very focused on doing the job. They have

:34:27. > :34:30.the friendly with Romania two weeks before this. On finals day, the

:34:30. > :34:34.British coaches decided to use it as a practice for the team final.

:34:34. > :34:37.They put the three gymnasts on each apparatus that they thought they

:34:37. > :34:45.would use for the team final and they were did exactly as they did

:34:45. > :34:55.here. They have really taken it seriously. -- they used it exactly

:34:55. > :35:21.

:35:21. > :35:26.about confidence because she was time. Her head was not really far

:35:26. > :35:30.enough back on that and I doubt the judges will credit that moved. That

:35:30. > :35:40.was a little bit short on the splits. All these leaps are

:35:40. > :35:41.

:35:41. > :35:51.supposed to show 180 degrees splits. Good control on the free card will.

:35:51. > :36:02.

:36:02. > :36:09.coming through from Romania. The acrobatics are great but there is

:36:09. > :36:19.still some work to do. Especially on the dance work. The acrobatics

:36:19. > :36:21.

:36:21. > :36:25.were really well done. Two Phillips and a double pike dismount. They

:36:25. > :36:29.get a bit of extra time on the bars warm-up because they can alter the

:36:29. > :36:33.distance between them. Each gymnast has given 50 seconds from the

:36:33. > :36:38.moment that they start. That is partly because they like them to be

:36:38. > :36:42.slightly different. The chalk Rob Tobin, rub off, whatever. The

:36:42. > :36:52.timing does not start until they get on to the bars. They do not

:36:52. > :36:52.

:36:52. > :37:51.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:37:51. > :38:01.take time off for the coach Robin body shape. She has to hit every

:38:01. > :38:11.

:38:11. > :38:21.difficulty but there was a serious error in the middle. Signs that she

:38:21. > :38:30.

:38:30. > :38:33.is human amongst that difficulty! top carries five. Talking about

:38:33. > :38:39.that bar routine, it really was quite sub-standard from what we

:38:39. > :38:49.have seen from there. She struggled on a two forward elements. She had

:38:49. > :39:10.

:39:10. > :39:17.to use some power to get them over. we are still waiting for Jordyn

:39:17. > :39:21.Wieber's score. I love this sport because you gain on the swings and

:39:21. > :39:25.you lose on the roundabouts. can tell from her face that she is

:39:25. > :39:30.not pleased. She is not made for bars. She is made for the power

:39:30. > :39:35.events. I expect she has had to learn very hard to swing. She let

:39:35. > :39:42.the swing overtake her. She did not kill it enough to hit the handstand.

:39:42. > :39:52.She recovered well. A gymnast with less strength would have clattered

:39:52. > :40:10.

:40:10. > :40:19.ahead. But for how long? That is the question. We have just seen

:40:20. > :40:29.Hannah Whelan complete a very good score -- floor routine. We have not

:40:29. > :40:39.got the score yet. Victoria Komova is second and looking to make a

:40:39. > :41:16.

:41:16. > :41:23.some lovely leg work. Will that be worth more than 13.6? Definitely.

:41:23. > :41:33.That was a big, big challenge. Hannah Whelan's floor. This is a

:41:33. > :41:33.

:41:33. > :42:56.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:42:56. > :43:06.spins in your difficulty and five 8, so that was a very strong

:43:06. > :43:06.

:43:06. > :43:11.performance. Victoria Komova takes the lead by one hole mark. That was

:43:11. > :43:21.a really classy asymmetric bars performance by Victoria Komova. She

:43:21. > :43:21.

:43:21. > :44:22.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:44:22. > :44:27.the relief on her face! Celebration at the end! She was number six, but

:44:27. > :44:33.looking to climb the rankings. was one of the gymnasts that fell

:44:33. > :44:39.in the team final so that was a great performance from her. Brace

:44:39. > :44:49.yourselves, everyone, Hannah Whelan his third! It was her phenomenal

:44:49. > :44:54.

:44:55. > :44:58.Hannah Whelan. It reflected the wonderfully clean landings. And

:44:58. > :45:02.expressive floor routine and she has worked very hard on the

:45:02. > :45:07.presentation. Lots of marks are given for artistry and performance.

:45:07. > :45:14.She will have got lots of those bonuses. She's bought 14.1 in the

:45:14. > :45:24.team final. -- sheep sport. She had a little penalty, we don't know why,

:45:24. > :45:31.

:45:31. > :45:40.They will move over to the beam in a moment.

:45:40. > :45:45.Well, a surprise for Whelan. Real disappointment for her looking for

:45:45. > :45:52.this individual gold. The Americans are powering their way to gold.

:45:52. > :45:57.was the apparatus she didn't score so well on.

:45:57. > :46:07.Powerful vaulting, one-and-a-half twists, kicks her legs out and

:46:07. > :46:11.

:46:12. > :46:21.wraps one-and-a-half turns in. That pushes Wieber down into third.

:46:22. > :47:00.

:47:00. > :47:06.transfer with a half-turn. Smooth work here. Very nicely flighted.

:47:06. > :47:11.Caught with straight arms and a big catch. Short on rotation but she

:47:11. > :47:17.takes into it a somersault. Good bonus for linking the moves but she

:47:17. > :47:21.was at a standstill by the time she got there. Hits the handstand,

:47:21. > :47:28.winds up into the dismount, full twisting double back. She got it

:47:28. > :47:34.all in but it looked a bit of a scrabble. She's a bit heavy on if

:47:34. > :47:42.landings. -- on the landings. She packs it

:47:42. > :47:51.all in, really does fill the routine and gives it the Max.

:47:51. > :48:01.Nicely flighting in the Jaeger, plenty of rotation. Keeps the swing

:48:01. > :48:01.

:48:01. > :48:04.going well. This is where she really got busy.

:48:04. > :48:09.The shoulders weren't back enough to guarantee more rotation but you

:48:09. > :48:13.can see the result. That was a really good battling performance.

:48:13. > :48:21.She went for all her links. If you add the moves together they give

:48:21. > :48:26.you the extra marks. Giulia Steingruber 14.866 for a second

:48:26. > :48:33.piece of apparatus vault. Goes into sixth. She's one of the big vaulter

:48:34. > :48:41.in the vault final later in the week.

:48:41. > :48:51.Kseniia Afanaseva has moved up three places. 14.2 for bars, just

:48:51. > :49:02.

:49:02. > :49:07.outside of medal contention. Two old. Fifth on the floor.

:49:07. > :49:17.Traditionally beam and floor very good for Romania. Emfat nick the

:49:17. > :49:51.

:49:51. > :50:01.Nicely under control. Nice touches important to the projection of the

:50:01. > :50:24.

:50:24. > :50:34.exercise. That was a little bounce the double tuck. A double pike and

:50:34. > :50:35.

:50:35. > :50:45.a similar area. That was a pity. beautiful, supple routine.

:50:45. > :50:52.Here's Alexandra Raisman. She was second after vault.

:50:52. > :50:57.Lifts well up to the high bar. Just a tiny bit short of hand-stand.

:50:57. > :51:07.Half turn, a huge Jaeger. Again just a little untidy with the feet.

:51:07. > :51:13.A full pirouette. Into the Katchev. She did handstand hop and just

:51:13. > :51:19.missed the hand. All those swings, and again she's really got herself

:51:19. > :51:26.rattled. She should have stopped, calmed herself down like she is now.

:51:26. > :51:30.It is into the dismount, double front, she lands that but that will

:51:30. > :51:36.probably be three whole marks deducted for that. Two falls.

:51:36. > :51:40.was rat frld the beginning. When you mentioned the -- rattled from

:51:40. > :51:45.the beginning. She is not a class worker on asymmetric bars. It is

:51:45. > :51:53.all power and push, and she just didn't seem to be settled.

:51:53. > :51:58.There were touches, there wasn't even one clean scale, and she

:51:58. > :52:05.didn't get the grip properly underneath. Then she got herself

:52:05. > :52:12.into a tizz. She should have taken her time. There was the double tuck

:52:12. > :52:17.but so much damage done to any medal hope there is. A real

:52:17. > :52:24.surprise. Raisman moves from second to ninth. 12.9. What a different

:52:24. > :52:31.story this is for the Americans. Ana Porgras is just outside medal

:52:31. > :52:41.contention. 13.966 for floor puts her in fourth.

:52:41. > :53:10.

:53:10. > :53:16.Just a few errors for Ana Porgras plenty of flight.

:53:16. > :53:26.She's got hit every handstand and every release.

:53:26. > :53:35.

:53:35. > :53:43.Jaeger. If she stands it up, it will be a huge challenge. That was

:53:43. > :53:51.terrific. What can they take from it? She was in fourth. I'm sure her

:53:51. > :53:56.score will build from there. Komova currently leads with a 15.4 on bars.

:53:56. > :54:02.That was cleaner than Komova's performance. It was a really tight,

:54:02. > :54:11.well-flighted performance. The catches are at arm's length,

:54:11. > :54:17.the handstands are clean. Look how high. Catches are really

:54:17. > :54:22.at full stretch. This is what we mean when we say swings with

:54:22. > :54:32.fluency. A lovely straight body. Nails the landing. That was a

:54:32. > :54:41.

:54:41. > :54:51.Lovely height. The one-and-a-half twists not as difficult as some.

:54:51. > :54:56.

:54:56. > :55:05.Three Olympic Games she's performed Yao Jinnan is now behind Victoria

:55:05. > :55:15.Komova. 14.3 for Daniele Matias Hypolito.

:55:15. > :55:26.

:55:26. > :55:33.Into ninth at this stage. A five World Championships. Great for

:55:33. > :55:43.the sport. And still performing. They have had a bit of a change at

:55:43. > :55:58.

:55:58. > :56:03.the top in Brazil. Victoria Komova the American gymnasts after this

:56:03. > :56:09.second piece of apparatus. Do you think their priority was on the

:56:09. > :56:15.team and they are off the boil a little? Their priority is off the

:56:15. > :56:19.team but I don't think they are off the boil. They are not great on

:56:19. > :56:25.bars and when you are in the same group as kids who are great on bars

:56:25. > :56:31.you have that question in your mind, don't you? Understandable. She's

:56:31. > :56:37.smiling. Do you think she's a bit harshly done by on bars? Whether

:56:37. > :56:47.she got all her difficulty given. Yes, they've given her a D score of

:56:47. > :56:47.

:56:47. > :57:32.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:57:32. > :57:38.6.7. Yao Jinnan is in seconds. predicted. The Americans, what's

:57:38. > :57:43.going on with both of them? It just shows what pressure can do. A

:57:43. > :57:49.couple of mistakes on bars and Jordyn missed her hands. Wonderful

:57:49. > :57:54.composure from Komova as well. She was held at the of the runway for

:57:54. > :57:58.ages before she could even start her vault. Went on to bars and is

:57:58. > :58:01.really building. It shows how experienced she is at international

:58:01. > :58:07.competition to be able to stand at the end of the runway for five

:58:07. > :58:13.minutes. She went to bars, one of her favourite pieces, and got the

:58:13. > :58:19.stop score of the competition. Ana Porgras is worth keeping her

:58:20. > :58:23.eye on. Yes, in qualification she missed a beam. She is out of the

:58:23. > :58:29.pressure group. She's up there in the standings. You know Hannah but

:58:29. > :58:34.are you surprised to see her in seventh? Not at all. You see the

:58:34. > :58:39.mistakes that have been happening and Hannah kept it cool and calm.

:58:39. > :58:46.She did the best beam we've seen. Fingers crossed she can keep it

:58:46. > :58:53.going for vault and bars. On to the third bit of apparatus.

:58:53. > :58:58.Seventh at halfway for Hannah. I think that's excellent. Beam and

:58:58. > :59:03.floor are probably her two best pieces, so she will have been

:59:03. > :59:13.delighted to perform both to the best of her ability. Vault is not

:59:13. > :59:26.

:59:26. > :59:31.as difficult as some but she's a come back fighting. They are very

:59:31. > :59:38.good on the beam and I can't see them giving in at all.

:59:39. > :59:48.These young gymnasts who are in the lead still have got to surmount

:59:49. > :00:06.

:00:06. > :00:10.that headache of a good beam on this bit of apparatus. That was

:00:10. > :00:15.different from the 15.4 in qualification. Something in the mid

:00:15. > :00:25.wool be good. The gap between one and two is

:00:25. > :00:44.

:00:44. > :00:53.feet. Look how high that front somersault was.

:00:53. > :01:03.One back flip, a layout and a second. She looked composed.

:01:03. > :01:04.

:01:04. > :01:11.Standing Arabian. She really is deceptive. A lovely split.

:01:11. > :01:17.She's got enormous power as well. This she has to concentrate on, a

:01:17. > :01:27.full spin leg -up. The pre - walkover. The jump, she took the

:01:27. > :01:35.

:01:35. > :01:42.head back, got the difficulty for she stepped behind, but at least

:01:42. > :01:49.she did not fall off. That was a very good performance under

:01:49. > :01:57.pressure. In dude. She lost something on execution but not

:01:58. > :02:01.difficult to, and that is key. -- indeed. There were signs of

:02:01. > :02:11.presence and composer, even after the wobbles. Plenty of a Latakia,

:02:11. > :02:25.

:02:25. > :02:32.which is what gave their problems. say. She will be moving on to floor

:02:32. > :02:42.with some more landing room. really is quite a special gymnast.

:02:42. > :02:54.

:02:54. > :02:59.Classical but powerful. Very often vault. An absolute beauty.

:02:59. > :03:08.surprised you stayed in your seat! Christine is on her feet and so am

:03:08. > :03:18.I! She is greeted by her coach. She trains with Beth Tweddle as well.

:03:18. > :03:23.

:03:23. > :03:33.Textbook. She met the floor think she will go higher up the

:03:33. > :03:54.

:03:54. > :03:59.leaderboard. She is currently in Komova leads by two marks. That was

:03:59. > :04:06.almost one marked down on her stunning 15.4 of qualification. So

:04:06. > :04:10.she has left the door open to a very strong challenge. You get the

:04:10. > :04:20.feeling this will be another tight competition. It is unbelievable out

:04:20. > :04:25.

:04:25. > :04:35.there. Can Huang Quishuang stay put and get through it? She needs to.

:04:35. > :04:52.

:04:53. > :04:58.She cannot afford to make any and one off and that ankle must

:04:58. > :05:08.have script the side of the beam. Very uncomfortable. That was solid

:05:08. > :05:16.

:05:16. > :05:23.compose herself. She got straight back on and now she is going well

:05:23. > :05:33.again. I do not want to put a commentators curse on her, but that

:05:33. > :05:51.

:05:51. > :05:56.one error was very expensive. Now error but it was expensive. That

:05:56. > :06:00.seemed so uncharacteristic for the rest of the routine. Yes. She was a

:06:00. > :06:09.bit slow on the back flip. They have to use the back flip to give

:06:09. > :06:15.themselves some power. She was almost looking forward when she

:06:15. > :06:21.took off, so she did not get her weight on to the second foot. She

:06:21. > :06:25.planted her feet very well at the end for the dismount. She will be

:06:25. > :06:31.deducted for this landing because you can see that when the feet land,

:06:31. > :06:41.the chest is facing the floor. They can take up to 0.5 for that. That

:06:41. > :07:14.

:07:14. > :07:22.from Italy, now 20 years old. We have watched her grow up through

:07:22. > :07:32.the years. She was six on floor at the last World Championships and

:07:32. > :07:39.

:07:39. > :07:43.becoming World Champion. Look at that! Double twisting and double

:07:43. > :07:53.back. That is the first time since then that we have seen a complete

:07:53. > :07:53.

:07:53. > :08:56.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:08:56. > :09:00.to make this final tumble. That was a great double pike and this is

:09:00. > :09:10.fabulous. Vanessa Ferrari was in the top eight, just behind Hannah

:09:10. > :09:15.

:09:15. > :09:19.Whelan. She is chlorine her way up. -- grappling her way up. When

:09:19. > :09:24.things got tough, she stuck in there and she came back and fought

:09:24. > :09:26.to regain some confidence. This double twist and double that was

:09:26. > :09:34.what she competed in her first world champions and we have not

:09:34. > :09:40.seen it again since then until this year. Very impressive. She did

:09:40. > :09:45.Grove. She was tiny when we first saw her. She had to reversion all

:09:45. > :09:50.of her work. Similarly with Hannah Whelan, she has had a growth spurt.

:09:50. > :09:59.Yes, she was the baby of the team in Beijing. She has really grown

:09:59. > :10:09.and reorganise to work. -- reorganised her work. So big

:10:09. > :10:29.

:10:29. > :10:38.Full twist in the straight somersault position. Very clean.

:10:38. > :10:43.Very nice. 5th in the all-around last year. Straight arms, good lift.

:10:43. > :10:52.She gave the judges almost nothing to deduct. If you can keep your

:10:52. > :11:02.deductions low, you do not have to do such difficult work. First-class

:11:02. > :11:09.

:11:09. > :11:18.far and at the moment she is in a bronze medal contention. 14.1. One

:11:18. > :11:28.more piece to go. Ferrari is now in 5th after that floor routine. 14.5

:11:28. > :11:44.

:11:44. > :11:53.in qualifying on this apparatus. Plenty of pedigree. That was a very

:11:53. > :12:03.expensive first moves. The standing Arabian is very difficult. And beam

:12:03. > :12:03.

:12:03. > :12:43.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:12:43. > :12:46.Hours of practice goes into this gymnast ever to perform it. Always

:12:46. > :12:50.difficult to keep your concentration when you make a

:12:50. > :12:56.mistake right at the beginning. She knows that she must do a good

:12:56. > :13:00.dismount. She buckled a bit on the knees as well. She was not used in

:13:00. > :13:10.the team final for Russia on that piece of apparatus. Maybe not

:13:10. > :13:15.consistent enough. He did not look very consistent today! -- it did

:13:15. > :13:20.not. Very hard to marry the twist from a somersault with a standing

:13:20. > :13:27.start. If you pull your shoulders too soon, you will be off-target

:13:27. > :13:34.and she was. There were tiny moments in that routine when she

:13:34. > :13:41.lost her focus. On the finish, that was quite a buckle. Unfortunate.

:13:41. > :13:51.She stays in 6th. 13.4, so not too costly in turns of position but she

:13:51. > :14:08.

:14:08. > :14:13.and going for an execution score. She performed very well in the all-

:14:13. > :14:21.around. The team did not make that top group. She was an outstanding

:14:21. > :14:29.performer for them. You can see this vault has a good flight on but

:14:29. > :14:39.it dies a bit off. You can see that with some of the vaults with more

:14:39. > :14:49.flight. Her best finish his 19th in the all-around, last year. She is

:14:49. > :15:20.

:15:21. > :15:28.hangs in there because I want Hannah Whelan to move up! She has

:15:28. > :15:34.done fantastically. Apologies if you are listening in Romania.

:15:34. > :15:44.we have Hannah Whelan's mother behind us. This must be the lucky

:15:44. > :16:05.

:16:58. > :17:17.

:17:17. > :17:22.stiff and static here. You can see the nerves in the performance.

:17:32. > :17:34.

:17:34. > :17:44.something the judges deduct for. A wobble at the end. But that was

:17:44. > :17:53.

:17:53. > :17:58.good. Took the head back. Completed a very good dismount. What a shame

:17:58. > :18:05.with the bit in the middle. I think she was a bit offline in the first

:18:15. > :18:35.

:18:35. > :18:45.Nice full-in and a down. This is more like the Lauren

:18:45. > :19:05.

:19:05. > :19:10.Mitchell we've come to expect. And is being used. A heel on the corner.

:19:10. > :19:17.A little leap with changed leg at the end of it shows she's in

:19:17. > :19:27.control. Head well back on the ring slip.

:19:27. > :19:37.

:19:37. > :19:41.Back to where she enjoys, back on double pike with a leap at the end.

:19:41. > :19:51.Well done, Lauren Mitchell. Back on song, Lauren. The first Australian

:19:51. > :19:55.

:19:55. > :20:00.woman to win a gold at the World Championships.

:20:00. > :20:04.It's been a bit of an indifferent Championships for her. She's done

:20:04. > :20:08.the important thing - led her team to the qualification of the

:20:08. > :20:14.Olympics. She's so good at these landings, rebounds out of it into a

:20:14. > :20:18.jump. That means the judges can't deduct for steps on landing, and

:20:18. > :20:28.give her a bonus for jumping out from the landing. She was very

:20:28. > :20:29.

:20:29. > :20:39.pleased with herself there. 15.033. That puts Lauren Mitchell

:20:39. > :20:42.

:20:42. > :20:52.into 8th. A costly fall, 13.933. -- 14.933.

:20:52. > :20:53.

:20:53. > :20:58.She is still clinging on to second. What can Jordyn Wieber do here?

:20:58. > :21:02.She is in fourth. I think she will feel much more

:21:02. > :21:09.encouraged after seeing the errors from the other gymnasts. The door

:21:09. > :21:15.is open to fight back. The one-handed flip into the layout

:21:16. > :21:25.somersault. Good height on the leap, good commitment to join the leap to

:21:26. > :21:29.

:21:29. > :21:39.the pike-backed somer sau. -- somersault. She is so powerful.

:21:39. > :21:46.

:21:46. > :21:53.Great precision. Leg well held. Another good leap.

:21:53. > :21:58.The quarter turn. The free cartwheel, but she does an

:21:58. > :22:07.enormously difficult skill right at the end here.

:22:07. > :22:15.The full twisting tuck-back into the back flip. She is really

:22:15. > :22:19.concentrating, giving it every bit of fight.

:22:19. > :22:25.Plants her feet on the beam. Two- and-a-half twists, just a little

:22:25. > :22:32.pace back. But that was a gritty fight-back. Totally focused on her

:22:32. > :22:35.medal. One more piece to. It's floor.

:22:36. > :22:41.She's brought the spark back into this competition with that

:22:41. > :22:48.performance. It is a thriller. She needs a 15.7 to take the lead.

:22:48. > :22:54.Currently the highest score is Komova with 15.4.

:22:54. > :23:01.So much determination, and that came towards the end of the routine.

:23:01. > :23:06.She really is in focus. She's given herself a fighting chance with this

:23:06. > :23:12.exercise. Building powerfully through the flicks. Two-and-a-half

:23:12. > :23:17.twists. She is centre with the beam. Beautiful work from her.

:23:17. > :23:27.A piece of apparatus she's much more comfortable on and she showed

:23:27. > :23:41.

:23:41. > :23:51.that. She went there with That was a performance from the

:23:51. > :24:09.

:24:09. > :24:14.routine has given her a real chance. Very disappointing that both the

:24:14. > :24:21.gymnasts from China fell away and didn't manage to complete them well.

:24:22. > :24:31.15.266. Now we have a competition. She's gone into second.

:24:32. > :25:10.

:25:10. > :25:16.0.4 behind. If Komova can stay on mum. How are you feeling? Very

:25:16. > :25:20.nervous. Bars are her least favourite piece, and that's the

:25:21. > :25:26.last one to go. Are you sitting down or standing for this

:25:26. > :25:30.competition? Sitting down clinging to my other daughter's hand. So you

:25:30. > :25:36.can actually watch then? We are gymnastics fans but we are not

:25:36. > :25:42.really enjoying it, it is so nerve- racking. She's doing OK. Can she

:25:42. > :25:47.get over a 14 on bars? It is going to be tricky. A couple of scores

:25:47. > :25:52.have been slightly lower than 13, but on the first day she didn't get

:25:52. > :25:59.something counted. She's been working on that in the gym.

:25:59. > :26:04.Hopefully they'll be 13s or 14. word on the beam. For the leading

:26:04. > :26:10.group, quite a story and a few falls. It just shows that the

:26:10. > :26:15.pressure is getting to them. They all want that world title, you put

:26:15. > :26:20.yourself under so much pressure, sometimes it backfires on you.

:26:20. > :26:26.Jordyn Wieber grab that goal? isn't far behind. Her floor is

:26:26. > :26:32.strong. We all know that Komova has ankle injury. 1234 it is now the

:26:32. > :26:42.last piece. Where are you going to watch this? Back down there I think.

:26:42. > :26:53.

:26:54. > :26:59.We wish you very best for the whole at the moment. This is the

:26:59. > :27:04.competition of her life. We've seen Hannah compete like this in Britain

:27:04. > :27:10.often. She's British champion, has been for the last two years, and

:27:10. > :27:14.she's a clean performer. Each time she comes to the world stage she's

:27:14. > :27:19.lost confidence in the all-around competition. If she can get through

:27:19. > :27:29.the bars cleanly, she will be showing us truly what she's capable

:27:29. > :27:33.

:27:33. > :27:39.What a thriller in store. The final rotation.

:27:39. > :27:42.The Chinese are so skillful on bee. I know over the years they've

:27:42. > :27:52.faltered a bit and been inconsistent but you really did

:27:52. > :27:52.

:27:52. > :28:37.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:28:37. > :28:47.think they would hold it together. One-and-a-half twists into another

:28:47. > :29:20.

:29:20. > :29:21.Moves fluently and easily. Big back flip, two-and-a-half twists. Lovely,

:29:21. > :29:26.elegant work, but not with massive difficulty. Not the sort of

:29:26. > :29:30.difficulty we are going to see from the Americans and the Russians.

:29:30. > :29:36.maybe not quite enough for a medal. She was in fourth of the third

:29:36. > :29:40.piece. She stayed on her feet, which the others still have to do.

:29:40. > :29:44.Her qualifying score was only 5.4 in difficulty. If you think the top

:29:44. > :29:51.ones are going to be in the sixes. Could well be under threat from for

:29:51. > :29:56.for. And the buefty of this last round is the -- beauty of this last

:29:56. > :30:06.round is is the difficulty is the same. This is going to be very

:30:06. > :30:06.

:30:06. > :30:09.interesting. And hopefully Hannah Whelan as well.

:30:09. > :30:14.Hannah's performance so far has been amazing. She's moved up a

:30:14. > :30:20.place so far in every round. If she can perform the bar routine of her

:30:20. > :30:30.life, who knows what? Vanessa Ferrari is standing at the

:30:30. > :30:50.

:30:50. > :30:55.Almost collided with the platform. But she's got so much power.

:30:55. > :31:01.Feeling the strain through the ankles. She went for broke, went

:31:01. > :31:05.for the double twist. Wasn't quite around. Rather than absorb the

:31:05. > :31:15.floor, she decided to allow herself to bounce off it. Hopefully not

:31:15. > :31:27.

:31:28. > :31:34.done any serious damage but you can World Championships. -- Huang

:31:34. > :31:44.Quishuang. She has got a total of 57. We normally expect more than 60

:31:44. > :31:44.

:31:44. > :33:06.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:33:06. > :33:16.straight position that the gymnast head. Selling the routine. We know

:33:16. > :33:26.

:33:26. > :33:30.that she is great at tumbling. You spotted a few errors in the

:33:30. > :33:39.choreography and the dance elements in this bins. Yes, I think she fell

:33:39. > :33:46.out of both of the spins. It is a long way round. It is the longest

:33:46. > :33:50.axis and you really need power to go through it. She uses her head,

:33:50. > :33:53.but this routine really needs her face as well. An expression. It is

:33:53. > :34:03.very well choreographed but she needs to finish it off with the

:34:03. > :34:22.

:34:22. > :34:26.be weighed down with that vault score. There are four chapters to

:34:26. > :34:34.this story, and each one has to be successful to really emerge

:34:34. > :34:40.victorious. Who has been the most consistent so far? Victoria Komova.

:34:40. > :34:50.Hastie be. If she can stand up on the floor proper late... Time to

:34:50. > :34:52.

:34:52. > :34:58.phone home and say it was not to be this year. Maybe next year. The

:34:58. > :35:08.current leader after the last round. What lies in store for her? Kseniia

:35:08. > :35:30.

:35:30. > :35:40.highest qualifier last year. needs fireworks. That is the one

:35:40. > :36:03.

:36:03. > :36:09.that she left out of the team tumbling how she finds time to get

:36:09. > :36:19.the expression in. So far it is going well. Even on the dance

:36:19. > :36:53.

:36:53. > :37:00.but she has left her best until last. It was good, no doubt about

:37:00. > :37:09.it, but coming from eight? Too much of a mountain to climb, I think. Or

:37:09. > :37:19.even jump for that matter. Ana Porgras is in 5th. This is not her

:37:19. > :37:33.

:37:33. > :37:41.favourite apparatus. But can she was a full pirouette. Nearly

:37:41. > :37:49.demolishing her coach! Up to handstands smoothly. That was as

:37:49. > :37:59.well as she could do! It is not easy to get the big scores in bars.

:37:59. > :37:59.

:37:59. > :38:09.She got one very big error. She did that one 1/2 pirouette. That is a

:38:09. > :38:22.

:38:22. > :38:26.massive deduction. Five tenths? almost under rotated there. She has

:38:26. > :38:35.a reasonable start value for it. It is just whether they really hammer

:38:35. > :38:40.those turns. She has gone ahead of the rest of the field so far. But

:38:40. > :38:47.some big guns still to come. That is a big fight back for her. Very

:38:47. > :38:57.impressive tumbling. Three more gymnasts to go. Two more on bars to

:38:57. > :38:57.

:38:57. > :39:38.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:39:38. > :39:48.light of foot and she needs to sell there. She kept control through the

:39:48. > :39:58.spins. Superb. So much grace and elegance. She is tiny. She looks

:39:58. > :40:36.

:40:36. > :40:40.Do you know what? I thought that was delightful. I totally agree. A

:40:40. > :40:45.charming routine with some excellent tumbling. Dancing to a

:40:45. > :40:54.medley from West Side story. What the story this would be if she

:40:54. > :41:01.could medal here! Floor is historically not great for Chinese

:41:01. > :41:08.gymnasts but that was a really special performance. Look at the

:41:08. > :41:13.height. She spots the landing. Plenty of time. She was very

:41:13. > :41:22.precise with those landings. When she could have taken a little step,

:41:22. > :41:26.she disciplined herself not to. The only small step was on that double

:41:26. > :41:36.pike. But she smiled and sold the routine, making it a pleasure to

:41:36. > :41:51.

:41:51. > :42:01.watch. It is a delight to see work gymnasts to go on floor. Including

:42:01. > :42:26.

:42:26. > :42:36.edge of town. -- to beat from medal. She will be out to beat that

:42:36. > :42:36.

:42:36. > :43:45.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:43:45. > :43:54.gave away just that 0.14 Stepping Out, but all in all, she has fought

:43:54. > :44:04.back very well. The score that she needs to get the medal is 14.016.

:44:04. > :44:13.

:44:13. > :44:21.will be surprised if she does not double double. Not fazed at all by

:44:21. > :44:27.the pressure on her. She might grab the gold medal at the last minute.

:44:27. > :44:35.The Stepping Out might be expensive. She is still in with a very good

:44:35. > :44:45.chance. How much damage has she done? Her qualifying score was 14.5.

:44:45. > :44:50.

:44:50. > :45:00.from what we have seen for the Americans. They have looked

:45:00. > :45:04.

:45:04. > :45:14.vulnerable. Indeed. What is it going to be? Well, she is leading

:45:14. > :45:37.

:45:37. > :45:47.years old. Can she score 14.367? If she can, she's world champion.

:45:47. > :46:23.

:46:23. > :46:32.A great start. One-and-a-half That tumble pretty much under

:46:32. > :46:37.control for the twist. A superb effort so far.

:46:37. > :46:47.She dipped out past the vertical line at the end of the spins. The

:46:47. > :47:00.

:47:00. > :47:09.Well, that's her bid. Is it good enough? I think she's landed that

:47:09. > :47:17.final tumble. I knew she had done enough. She's the gymnast that's

:47:17. > :47:26.worked without errors. Consistent, with touches of brilliance too.

:47:26. > :47:30.She's got the work. The bars were beautiful. And that floor routine

:47:30. > :47:36.was beautiful. Lovely tumbling. Her mother was part of the Soviet them

:47:36. > :47:43.that won the world gold medal in 1985. She's been destined to be a

:47:43. > :47:48.gymnast, and does have similarities to her mother in the real classical

:47:48. > :47:58.elegant style. A beautiful gymnast and will be a great chufpblt

:47:58. > :48:02.

:48:02. > :48:09.-- a great champion. Faith toful the Swan Lake

:48:09. > :48:19.choreography as well -- faithful to the Swan Lake choreography as well.

:48:19. > :48:22.

:48:22. > :48:30.Beautifully done. She's looking anxiously. Well! 14.333. She's gone

:48:30. > :48:34.into second. Just 0.033 behind Wieber. And you know, it will have

:48:34. > :48:41.been that fall out of the double spin. They will have counted that

:48:41. > :48:51.as a fall I think, why else that score? Well, Wieber can't believe

:48:51. > :48:52.

:48:52. > :48:59.it. Komova can't believe it. She's decimated. I honestly thought she

:48:59. > :49:06.had nailed it. So did everyone here in this Arena. But you've made the

:49:06. > :49:13.point so many times, it is not only about the tumbles. What can you say

:49:13. > :49:18.to her now? The atmosphere here is one of disbelief. The only other

:49:18. > :49:24.place they would have had deductions that final tumble, where

:49:24. > :49:28.she landed and her chest was down. But hey! Wieber put her foot out of

:49:28. > :49:38.the floor. They've been scoring floor quite reasonably. Two sets of

:49:38. > :49:44.tears for different reasons. Hannah Whelan I can till scored

:49:44. > :49:50.13.258 and she finished nineth. Which is a fantastic performance,

:49:50. > :50:00.inside the top ten. A superb result for Hannah and for Great Britain.

:50:00. > :50:01.

:50:01. > :50:08.Yao Jinnan scores 14.766. I was talking to Beth earlier. The idea

:50:08. > :50:16.was to try to aim for that 12. To finish nine for Hannah is brilliant.

:50:16. > :50:22.Top ten of the world, that's got a real ring to it. Just look at the

:50:22. > :50:29.state of Komova. I feel for her. She finished that floor routine.

:50:29. > :50:33.She looked down, a beaming smile on her face as if that was it.

:50:33. > :50:38.wonder whether the Russian camp will protest that score. They can

:50:38. > :50:42.protest the D score, the difficulty score. We saw a couple of protests

:50:42. > :50:47.being upheld last night, or two days ago, so I do wonder whether

:50:47. > :50:54.they might. Surely they are going to have a go? You would if you were

:50:54. > :50:58.the coach. Absolutely. When you see her like that, she really is 16

:50:58. > :51:02.years old. She gave in to the pressure there and you suddenly

:51:02. > :51:08.realise this is a young girl at the top of her game who really thought

:51:08. > :51:18.she had done it. I don't think for one minute Wieber thought she had

:51:18. > :51:19.

:51:19. > :51:24.done it. No. Komova, not much of an exchange of tkwhranss -- glance

:51:24. > :51:31.there is. So Jordyn Wieber is the women's all-around world chufpblt

:51:31. > :51:41.Victoria Komova has to settle for sill -- champion. Victoria Komova

:51:41. > :52:17.

:52:17. > :52:23.has to settle for silver. Yao delighted with that? I'm delighted

:52:23. > :52:30.to have improved so much. I enjoyed the competition today and I enjoyed

:52:30. > :52:37.my routines. What impressed you the most? The vault. Overall I really

:52:37. > :52:42.enjoyed the competition. I went out there and did four clean routines.

:52:42. > :52:48.The bars, if you can improve that a little, the only way is up? Bars

:52:48. > :52:54.are one of my weak pieces so hopefully I can improve on the bars

:52:54. > :52:59.and up my overall score. How do you think your performances have come

:52:59. > :53:04.on this week from the final? qualifications there was a lot of

:53:04. > :53:09.pressure. Teams, you want to do it for them as well. Today I just came

:53:09. > :53:14.here to enjoy it, without much pressure on me. But feel a top ten

:53:14. > :53:20.finish was in the offing today? was kind of wanting it secretly to

:53:20. > :53:24.myself. And then as I was going along it was seemed more possible.

:53:24. > :53:29.Looking ahead to the Olympics they can year, obviously there's a lot

:53:29. > :53:38.of work to do to get into the top eight in the world, but hate to be

:53:38. > :53:45.a target, -- but it has to be a target? I want to go back and do

:53:45. > :53:52.the best that I can do. Jordyn Wieber takes gold. You could well

:53:52. > :53:57.see those three on the medals podium in London 2012, but what

:53:57. > :54:02.order would they be in? Congratulations. There was gasps

:54:02. > :54:09.when the score came up. How did you file? Ways so surprised. I had a

:54:09. > :54:14.little mistake on bars but I tried my best. I finished the floor

:54:14. > :54:20.review even if the best I could. I was so happy. Were you worried at

:54:20. > :54:26.the time that you had blown your chance of a gold medal then?

:54:26. > :54:30.little bit. It was only halfway through. I knew I would come back

:54:30. > :54:37.strong. How important for your journey to London 2012 was getting

:54:37. > :54:41.on the podium here? It was very important. It was my first World

:54:41. > :54:46.Championships. He high expectations for myself. I wanted to do as well

:54:46. > :54:51.as I could. I'm so happy it turned out this way. There is so much

:54:51. > :54:56.competition to get into the team. Johnson is on the way back. The

:54:56. > :55:01.list is endless of people who could get into the team. Did you feel

:55:01. > :55:06.confident you've got the place not quite booked but you've underlined

:55:06. > :55:10.your name? I can't get too confident, there is a whole year.

:55:10. > :55:19.We've got strong girls in the US. If I keep healthy and work hard,

:55:19. > :55:23.can I reach that goal. And you have two gold med tools your name. Five

:55:23. > :55:27.gold medals? That would be a dream come true. I'm really excited to

:55:27. > :55:32.compete in the individual and then finals. The flags are descending

:55:32. > :55:37.behind us. We didn't expect that order at the finish, did we?

:55:37. > :55:43.probably did at the start of the day but the way the competition

:55:43. > :55:47.panned out, it was a surprise to us all. But when we looked back at the

:55:47. > :55:52.replays Komova gave the judges the opportunity to deduct and they took

:55:53. > :56:00.it. You put your money on Wieber but did you want Komova to win at

:56:00. > :56:03.the end. She is a lovely gymnast... Is that a yes? Yes. Unfortunately

:56:03. > :56:08.she struggled today with her feet. You could tell she wasn't happy on

:56:08. > :56:13.if floor. It was a case of I want to get through these routines and

:56:13. > :56:19.get off the floor. That's the thing with women's gymnastics, there's

:56:19. > :56:27.only four pieces of apparatus, so when something goes wrong it is a

:56:27. > :56:32.challenge to get back. You have more to concentrate on the boys'

:56:32. > :56:35.gymnastics. Ali did well, she came fourth. Lots of twists and turns in

:56:35. > :56:40.the story of this competition. think probably the Chinese gymnasts

:56:40. > :56:46.should be the most disappointed. They did the stuff they are not so

:56:46. > :56:52.good at and cave and beam. They've both got good routines. They could

:56:52. > :56:56.have had one and two had they not caved in on beam. But the top three

:56:56. > :57:00.or all 16. What does that say for the future? We've got to see

:57:00. > :57:04.whether they can survive the storms. It is easy to burst on the scene at

:57:04. > :57:11.16. It is much more difficult to deal with the ups and downs and

:57:11. > :57:16.still be fighting back at 19 or 20. If they can do, that we will see

:57:16. > :57:26.whether Komova has got, as you said, the steel in her heart to fight

:57:26. > :57:27.

:57:27. > :57:33.back and take the gold medal at the Olympics. Hannah took ninth, by far

:57:33. > :57:37.her lowest score. She will have seen there were a lot of falls

:57:37. > :57:42.elsewhere. She will have done the giant pull at the end just for

:57:42. > :57:48.Hannah to come out with a clean, safe spot. Nine sth a massive

:57:48. > :57:52.achievement on what she scored last year. Will you now be involved in

:57:52. > :57:57.her bars coaching? I wouldn't say that. Amanda is one of the best bar

:57:57. > :58:01.coaches in the country. She's got stuff she's working on in every

:58:01. > :58:05.piece, so coming into the Olympics she will make up her grades. There

:58:05. > :58:12.is more sport for you on the Red Button throughout the night. The

:58:12. > :58:20.first practise session of the Korean Grand Prix. Coverage starts

:58:20. > :58:24.at 1.5am. Tomorrow is all about the men. We'll be swapping with Dan

:58:24. > :58:33.Purves. Daniel Purves of Great Britain.

:58:33. > :58:40.Come on, Daniel. Lovely height. Daniel Purves is brilliant in the

:58:40. > :58:43.air. Very well controlled. A really strong performance from

:58:43. > :58:51.Daniel Purves. You can catch highlights of Dan's competition on

:58:52. > :58:58.BBC Two at 1.00pm. Coverage starts on-line and on the Red Button at 10

:58:58. > :59:03.to 11. Dan that two Americans and two Japanese at the moment. He's

:59:03. > :59:08.ranked fifth. Excellent. He is Mr Consistency. He believes he can do

:59:08. > :59:12.better. Will you be back for that will be. He's cool, calm and
