:00:40. > :00:47.Welcome to the Belgian city of Antwerp for the World Gymnastics

:00:47. > :00:52.Championships. 410 gymnasts have travelled here from 76 Nations to

:00:52. > :00:56.get their hands on just 12 titles often it is set to be a star-studded

:00:56. > :00:58.affair, with no less than seven of the Olympic champions from London

:00:58. > :01:46.2012 chalked up and ready to go. A glittering cast. After

:01:46. > :01:52.qualification, Great Britain are A glittering cast. After

:01:52. > :01:55.hopeful the nine finalists. Quite an achievement when you consider the

:01:55. > :02:01.team doesn't include two of Britain's greatest ever gymnasts.

:02:01. > :02:21.What does this Olympic final have in store for Beth Tweddle?

:02:21. > :02:27.A big setback but she saved it. Louis Smith gets the silver. Beth

:02:27. > :02:36.Tweddle takes the bronze. They may not be competing but I'm

:02:36. > :02:39.delighted to say they are part of our coverage. Hello to Britain's

:02:40. > :02:45.most decorated gymnast, Beth Tweddle, and world and Olympic

:02:45. > :02:49.champion, Lewis Smith. You announced your retirement on the anniversary

:02:49. > :02:53.of winning the bronze medal. Was that planned? It wasn't, it just

:02:53. > :02:57.took me that long to make that decision. It was 20 years of my

:02:57. > :03:04.life. You don't just decide one day that that is it. Everyone around me

:03:04. > :03:09.knew that that was me done. For me, I couldn't let go. Even now I'm

:03:09. > :03:13.still in the gym four times a week. The governing body of world

:03:13. > :03:17.gymnastics have given new role. I've been voted in as athlete

:03:17. > :03:21.representative for the women's. It is being the voice of the gymnast.

:03:21. > :03:25.It keeps my hand in a top-level gymnastics. Bedbug wrote the

:03:25. > :03:29.anniversary of your medal has passed and you didn't announce your

:03:29. > :03:33.retirement. What's happening? Still clinging on. I thought it would be

:03:33. > :03:38.nice to have a laid-back approach but I've come here, I've got itchy

:03:38. > :03:44.feet, I still feel I've got some fuel in the tank. Really? Even when

:03:44. > :03:49.I'm 30 I will still jump on the pommel horse. I could still get down

:03:49. > :03:53.there and mingle with them. Good. This competition is all about the

:03:53. > :03:56.individuals, there is no team competition this year. We are

:03:56. > :03:57.focusing on the men's all-round that happened yesterday. Then this

:03:57. > :04:02.focusing on the men's all-round that evening you can see live coverage of

:04:03. > :04:27.the women's all-round final, with Rebecca Tony and Ruby Harrold.

:04:27. > :04:33.As we said, nine finalists, very successful in qualification. Would

:04:34. > :04:38.you have expected more from the men's side? This World

:04:38. > :04:41.Championships, being an individual, the first year after 2012, it is the

:04:42. > :04:47.hardest World Championships. Every country is invited. It's the hardest

:04:48. > :04:52.to make a final. We've done well so far. We could have had Daniel

:04:52. > :04:56.Keatings on pommel and Kristian Thomas on a high bar. Have you

:04:57. > :05:02.spoken to down-macro since? He had a nightmare in qualification. He's the

:05:02. > :05:09.reigning European champion. He came into this competition wanting to

:05:09. > :05:15.make a world final. He had a very uncharacteristic mistake and was. He

:05:15. > :05:19.normally swings a bit faster. I think he felt comfortable. He

:05:20. > :05:24.started the routine and it was going really well. His shoulders got away

:05:24. > :05:31.from him there. All it takes is that split second and it can all change.

:05:31. > :05:35.How about on the women's side? We've lived up to the expectation. We were

:05:35. > :05:39.hoping for Rebecca and Ruby to be in the all-round. We always knew there

:05:39. > :05:44.was a chance of two bar finals but we would have definitely been happy

:05:44. > :05:47.with one. It is a remarkable achievement. Since the World

:05:47. > :05:51.Championships began, there is only five different gymnasts who have

:05:51. > :05:56.actually meddled. Two of them, you are sat here. To see this many

:05:56. > :05:57.British gymnasts in the final phase and the enormous amount for what is

:05:57. > :06:07.happening. The fact that we can take a

:06:07. > :06:11.back-seat and see the people making our finals. Daniel and Max could

:06:11. > :06:17.have made pommels, we've got two in the uneven bars. We've given the GB

:06:17. > :06:21.guys a chance at the worlds. Ollie Williams caught up with both down

:06:21. > :06:22.and Max just after qualification, to see how they were feeling ahead of

:06:22. > :06:44.the men's all-round final. I had a few silly mistakes and there

:06:44. > :06:49.but overall I was happy with the competition. It was good experience

:06:49. > :06:56.for me. In the end it was really good. Starting on my first piece, it

:06:56. > :06:58.was a bit of a disaster. I put my hands down on the dismount. The rest

:06:58. > :07:04.of my routine was a bit scruffy. But hands down on the dismount. The rest

:07:04. > :07:07.then it seemed to go smoothly. It worked out really well. There are

:07:07. > :07:13.very strong competitors out there, but I just want to go out there and

:07:13. > :07:23.be in the competition. Go out, stay chilled and enjoy it. The team was

:07:23. > :07:27.so hard to get in this year. Sam is a great all-rounder as well. I

:07:27. > :07:32.wanted to come here and justify my own spot. I was very happy with the

:07:32. > :07:36.way it turned out. Even with my high bar down, I can still finish in the

:07:36. > :07:42.top eight. It's a great confidence boost. If I do that, I will be up

:07:42. > :07:47.there. I just want to enjoy it and stay calm under pressure. There's a

:07:47. > :07:54.lot of strong competitors out there. Hopefully I can go out there and

:07:54. > :07:57.show that I am one of the top ones. There's only two years between them

:07:57. > :08:02.and age, but they are at very different stages in their career.

:08:03. > :08:05.Daniel has been through it all, he's had an enormous amount of

:08:05. > :08:12.experience. He can afford to sit back and look at this. For Max, this

:08:12. > :08:17.is his first goal. He's done fantastically well. To deal with

:08:17. > :08:21.that pressure, the expectation of -- the 2012. To stamp his claim as one

:08:21. > :08:26.of the best all-rounders we've got at the minute. He seems to be doing

:08:26. > :08:29.a good job. A quick word on the all-round gymnasts, because you have

:08:29. > :08:33.competed on all pieces and then started to specialise. It is a very

:08:33. > :08:37.different discipline. Totally different. When you are doing one

:08:37. > :09:10.piece you just have to psych yourself up for 30 seconds. But the

:09:10. > :09:14.all-round competition, it can be up to two and a half hours that you

:09:14. > :09:17.have to keep on top. If you make a small mistake you have to build

:09:17. > :09:20.yourself back up and get on with it. In your training you are doing more

:09:20. > :09:22.pieces, you've got to break it up more. It is. You can't spend all the

:09:22. > :09:24.hours on one piece. You have to make sure every apparatus is top-notch.

:09:24. > :09:26.hours on one piece. You have to make You do tend to find that every

:09:26. > :10:07.all-rounder will have specialist pieces, they

:10:08. > :10:32.t one piece that is always there at how it breaks is taken.

:10:32. > :11:20.t one piece that is always there three, the all-round titles

:11:20. > :11:23.could he go one better and become the most successful gymnast of all

:11:23. > :11:55.time? 20 years old, 20 years old, he qualified in fifth

:11:55. > :12:06.place. 20 years old, he qualified Did he

:12:06. > :12:11.put his fingers out? The line judge lifted his red flag. He's just been

:12:11. > :12:12.out did he put his fingers out? The line judge lifted his red flag. He's

:12:12. > :12:54.just The handstand moment, and he is

:12:54. > :14:03.through very nicely indeed. Well The handstand moment, and he is

:14:03. > :14:15.done, Max Whitlock. Great start for Max. He will be very happy with

:14:15. > :14:28.that. The Ukrainian had a torrid time. Nice combination. At the

:14:28. > :14:35.judges' meeting, they did insist that these strength parts are held

:14:36. > :14:41.for a good two seconds. He is not in tiptop condition. This is the man

:14:41. > :14:57.who got the bronze all round in the Europeans.

:14:57. > :15:06.Louis, there are signs that he is not completely at his best. Rings is

:15:06. > :15:12.one of those pieces where you are either feeling great on the day, or

:15:12. > :15:22.you end up a bit undercooked. It is a difficult piece to get right. Sam

:15:22. > :15:26.Mikulak is the USA's white hope. Did not make it in qualifying, but let's

:15:26. > :15:42.have a look here. Super opening. One and a half

:15:42. > :15:53.twists, immediate double front. Fabulous landing. He really looks

:15:53. > :16:01.focused, stylish. All fired second, and he is doing himself harm here.

:16:01. > :16:12.Good control on the handstand. And the pirouette.

:16:12. > :16:33.Rolls out smoothly. Now, he has not altered. Triple twist, the nearest

:16:33. > :16:37.top . He did not give much away. He is one of the few gymnasts to get

:16:37. > :16:41.into the 15 is on this apparatus in qualifying. There was no sign here

:16:41. > :16:51.of nerve. If anything, he stepped up again. He really did show how

:16:51. > :16:54.landings are supposed to be controlled. He didn't give much

:16:54. > :17:04.away. It was a great routine. Lovely controlled. He didn't give much

:17:04. > :17:09.smile from Sam Mikulak. They really have great hopes for him. Max

:17:09. > :17:28.Whitlock opens with a beautiful score.

:17:28. > :17:44.A real character. They have got great hopes for him. 21 years old.

:17:44. > :18:01.Qualified in second, and it is hot out there. Look at that start.

:18:01. > :18:06.Work champion, silver in the 2008 Olympics, gold in London, Kohei

:18:06. > :18:34.Uchimura takes to the floor. He makes it look so easy. A little

:18:34. > :18:45.hop back. You don't usually see that from Uchimura. So clean. He makes it

:18:45. > :19:01.look so easy. Everything is anticipated.

:19:01. > :19:11.One thing you will always hear the Japanese coaches shout translates as

:19:11. > :19:29.to point, and that is what it is. He points his toes. Triple twist, thank

:19:29. > :19:40.you very much indeed. Well, his opening piece was just a little bit

:19:40. > :19:42.rushed on the first two tumbles, but once he got those over, the rest was

:19:42. > :19:44.fabulous. He finished his moves once he got those over, the rest was

:19:44. > :19:48.right out of the top. Look at the time he gave himself between those

:19:48. > :19:54.tumbles, not a flicker. That tumble we saw was technically perfect.

:19:54. > :20:13.Great timing, punched into the one and a half twists. Beautiful work. A

:20:13. > :20:20.great tumble around vaulter who has never looked very at home on

:20:20. > :20:26.potholes, but if he can hold firm here and swing with style, as he is

:20:26. > :20:38.at the moment, then he will be a serious contender, not for the top

:20:38. > :20:47.spot, but in the mix. Oh, and just wrestled to the finish. He has

:20:47. > :20:55.always struggled with pommels. It is a difficult apparatus to get right.

:20:55. > :21:04.He has had a good, long career. But he will get heavy deductions on

:21:04. > :21:17.that. Set Ewing is the art of not keeping your hands together. With

:21:17. > :21:35.him, just keeping it clean is an achievement. You have got to stay on

:21:35. > :21:42.with style. Uchimura is on his way. Sergio Sasaki Junior is one of the

:21:42. > :21:49.talented Brazilians. These gymnasts give themselves so much time. You

:21:49. > :21:55.have to land the first tumble so precisely. Ooh, and he just was a

:21:55. > :22:20.little bit short on that double twisting double back. Super control.

:22:20. > :22:33.And again, you saw how he finished the two and a half with such ease.

:22:33. > :22:44.They are allowed on roll-out during the routine. A couple of little

:22:44. > :22:54.errors, but a good start. 21 years old, 10th in the London Olympics.

:22:55. > :23:04.Perfect timing. I felt he rushed the routine a little bit. He could have

:23:04. > :23:18.taken a few more seconds. But it is surprising to see the talent coming

:23:18. > :23:21.through in Brazil right now. This was one of David Belyavskiy's

:23:21. > :23:38.problems in qualifying. But that was a good start. The shoulders are

:23:38. > :23:52.high. But a game, just not in tiptop shape. -- again.

:23:52. > :23:58.Just the inverted cross is the problem so far. Leads to an

:23:58. > :24:10.inconsistent handstand. That is a better performance from

:24:10. > :24:55.him than qualifying. He is showing great control. I think

:24:55. > :24:59.for Daniel, just getting through the rich team, he will be happy --

:24:59. > :25:55.getting through the routine. If Max Whitlock has got a piece he

:25:55. > :26:06.is not spectacular on, it is this. He had problems in qualifying. The

:26:06. > :26:39.static positions have to be held. Needs all his focus and

:26:39. > :26:47.concentration. He looks relieved. It is always nice to finish a mount.

:26:47. > :26:53.When you are as small as Max and can't do all the strength holds, it

:26:53. > :26:59.is important that when you do the swing elements, they are nice. Great

:26:59. > :27:18.control. I think he will be happy with that. Ryohei Kato is one of the

:27:18. > :27:21.youngsters who trains in a relaxed way, but they are focused when it

:27:21. > :28:14.comes to competition. He has got such a good line. He is

:28:14. > :28:20.starting to tire a little bit. And he gets the dismount done. Swing

:28:20. > :28:33.very efficiently. Not the most extended routine. But it is about

:28:33. > :28:35.consistency. He started off so well, and then you could really see

:28:35. > :29:18.him start to tire. He is relieved. That is medal winning stuff, if he

:29:18. > :29:22.can keep it up. This is not easy stuff. It is very hard get yourself

:29:22. > :29:35.from one end of the pommel to the other. This was where he had

:29:35. > :29:52.problems in qualifying. How is it going? He is doing great. He is

:29:52. > :29:58.swinging well. Great routine. The Americans might say, he is cooking!

:29:59. > :30:08.Great to have pommels out of the way.

:30:08. > :30:17.I think we just heard him say, I'm glad we got that out of the way!

:30:17. > :30:22.However advanced the swinging gets an pommels, everyone is glad to get

:30:22. > :30:40.it behind them. It's such a stressful piece.

:30:40. > :30:43.Those three steps back will be costly. Not as costly as sitting

:30:43. > :31:01.down, however. He's like the cat with the cream.

:31:01. > :31:05.Uchimura, he's got a peculiar style, it is so laid back. This is a

:31:05. > :31:07.big routine for him. The pommel horse is one of those hit or miss

:31:07. > :31:39.pieces. Great form, great style. Again,

:31:39. > :32:01.travelling, great difficulty. No form breaks. Handstand dismount.

:32:01. > :32:06.There you go, job done. That is superb. Talking about his style,

:32:06. > :32:09.it's so measured, not hurried, not slow, it's such a balanced style.

:32:09. > :32:18.And he never seems to tire. Hambuechen, having survived as

:32:18. > :32:24.pommel horse routine, approaches Hambuechen, having survived as

:32:24. > :32:39.this, he's very, very strong. When we first saw him in the Athens

:32:39. > :32:44.Olympics, he was just a young teenager and this was a PC struggled

:32:44. > :32:46.with. But he's become stronger and stronger. Now he really enjoys the

:32:46. > :32:57.rings. A really straight position but his

:32:57. > :33:08.shoulders could be a fraction lower.

:33:08. > :33:22.Really nice work from Hambuechen. We heard Louis saying come wow! You can

:33:22. > :33:28.tell he's a professional. We talked about him competing in Athens, two

:33:28. > :33:30.Olympic cycles ago. He showed his professionalism on the rings. Great

:33:30. > :33:41.control. And he's such a lovely guy. His shoulders were way Haider, he

:33:41. > :33:47.will get a big deduction, three tenths at least, possibly five. But

:33:47. > :33:50.that is a cracking dismount. Is feels so good to stick a dismount at

:33:50. > :34:01.the end of a routine, I can't explain it.

:34:01. > :34:20.Likhovitskiy, 27 years old now. 16th, he was, in the Tokyo World

:34:20. > :34:28.Championships. Again, a little bit high in the

:34:28. > :34:45.inverted cross. He didn't hold it. It will be

:34:45. > :35:05.expensive. He settles nicely into straddle lever.

:35:05. > :35:25.Double pike. A little bit iffy there.

:35:25. > :35:33.20 years old. Being tested in the world arena in preparation for the

:35:33. > :36:07.next cycle. Oh, he lost a little bit of form

:36:07. > :36:11.there. And again on the spindle. Big deduction is there for bending of

:36:11. > :36:16.the legs. Really starting to look a bit scrappy.

:36:16. > :36:35.Oh! We could see it, he was struggling. At this level it can

:36:35. > :36:54.happen. When you see it hit is a surprise, but it can happen.

:36:54. > :37:17.And he finishes. We have to make sure you miss mount -- dismount.

:37:17. > :37:20.Verniaiev on vault. This is one he made earlier. It was very

:37:20. > :37:54.impressive. The situation after two, Uchimura is

:37:54. > :38:22.where he likes to be, in front of his team-mate, Kato.

:38:22. > :38:35.He is in second place coming into this, behind the great Uchimura.

:38:35. > :38:45.His team believe in developing strength, weight ratio, not the bulk

:38:45. > :38:51.you would expect to see. But he will strength, weight ratio, not the bulk

:38:51. > :38:57.be accurate and he will be strong. That his own move.

:38:57. > :39:21.Not for the faint-hearted! He settles well in the L position.

:39:21. > :39:24.A double backwards twice, double forward twice. That's a really good

:39:24. > :39:40.cross. Double double with a big pace back,

:39:40. > :39:51.but that will do him no harm at all. Hambuechen will begin the climb back

:39:51. > :40:19.now. A lovely lift. Not quite perfect. A

:40:19. > :40:29.hop for words, but very good and very flighty. Well done.

:40:29. > :40:41.Plenty of attack. Wraps in nice and tight but still energy left, fuel in

:40:41. > :40:49.the tank means an extra pace at the end. You've got to use it all up in

:40:49. > :40:51.flight. Just a tiny bit off-line. You can see he is just to the side

:40:51. > :40:53.of the white lines. The judges will You can see he is just to the side

:40:53. > :41:22.deduct a bit for that. Kato's score on rings, very good

:41:22. > :41:28.indeed. For a man who is not the strongest in the world. Mikulak, in

:41:28. > :41:43.third place he was. Louis, you've done a bit of rings in

:41:43. > :41:59.your time. Talk us through this. It's important to keep it level.

:41:59. > :42:12.That is a very difficult skill. I actually did that.

:42:12. > :42:20.Straight arms are very important. Tuck Yamawaki, into the straddle

:42:20. > :42:29.lever. A little bit wobbly in the

:42:29. > :42:31.handstand, he will get some deductions there. Big double double

:42:31. > :42:36.dismount, great landing. Consistency is unusual for Mikulak.

:42:36. > :42:54.It was impressive. Mikulak, they said if he could

:42:54. > :43:02.consistency is a real threat. He's a young talent, he's 20 years old.

:43:02. > :43:09.Sorry, I don't think he is 20 years old, but he shows great talent.

:43:10. > :43:17.Belyavskiy on parallel bars. Beautiful technician. I hope we can

:43:17. > :43:24.see him in a good light, because every young gymnast and every coach

:43:25. > :43:32.can learn so much from his style. He hasn't had the best of outings so

:43:32. > :43:39.far. These little rehearsals are very important at this stage.

:43:39. > :43:46.Yes, some of the gymnast at this stage, while they are waiting,

:43:46. > :43:51.visualise themselves performing. Is that something you did, Louis? It

:43:51. > :43:57.is. I tend to think about normal stuff like, what is my mum cooking?

:43:57. > :44:02.Try and get away from the environment of things. Then when it

:44:02. > :44:07.comes down to it you just get yourself in the zone. That was an

:44:07. > :44:07.comes down to it you just get inside there. Top pressure and you

:44:07. > :44:27.think of your mum! 51 kilos, Uchimura. It's about

:44:27. > :44:32.strength weight ratio. Many good ring workers are very, very broad,

:44:32. > :44:38.full of muscles. Uchimura is a very slight gymnast. But his timing is

:44:39. > :44:43.immaculate, as you can see. The lighter you are, the less bulky you

:44:43. > :44:46.need to be. Look at that shoulder line. Absolutely level with the

:44:46. > :45:03.hands. So measured, so controlled in all

:45:03. > :45:12.the swing phases. Doesn't give anything away. Kills the swing,

:45:13. > :45:21.lifts the head. Every muscle fires together for the next move. Such a

:45:21. > :45:30.lifts the head. Every muscle fires stylish gymnast, so full of control.

:45:30. > :45:34.Fabulous. He is amazing, and he is the scruffiest guide training in the

:45:34. > :45:44.gym you could wish to see. He looks like he comes in in pyjamas. His

:45:44. > :45:48.hair is like he has just woken up. But you don't have to be an expert

:45:48. > :46:10.gymnast to see he is world class level. He makes it look easy.

:46:10. > :46:15.The double double. The give him that little skip to the side. -- forgive

:46:15. > :46:28.him. Look at that string of 15s. That

:46:28. > :47:08.translates to a score of over 91. You need to time it right. That is

:47:08. > :48:16.nice. What a future this young man has

:48:16. > :48:29.got. 21 years old, part of the Brazilian surge. Well, they are

:48:29. > :48:33.building for Rio. And if they keep improving at this rate, they are

:48:33. > :48:37.going to be a force in men's gymnastics. I have really been

:48:37. > :48:39.impressed with the increasing difficulty of the dismount is often

:48:39. > :48:58.rings in these championships. An important piece here for Max.

:48:58. > :49:38.That was well controlled. Oleg Verney IAF, third all round at

:49:38. > :49:50.the European Championships. -- Oleg Verney IAF.

:49:51. > :50:02.This is nice work. Ooh, and he has asked the bars. That will be

:50:02. > :50:28.expensive. Verney IAF it won't him up a bit

:50:28. > :50:30.when he kicked the bars. He is going to be saw in the morning. He has got

:50:30. > :50:38.when he kicked the bars. He is going a very nice rhythm and style. He is

:50:38. > :50:42.one of those gymnasts that make everything look very easy. He goes

:50:42. > :50:49.from element to element. That was really good. Beautiful basic work,

:50:49. > :51:20.but that was the expensive and painful are. Ouch.

:51:20. > :51:43.And he fought to hold that landing. A rare 15, hard to come by in this

:51:43. > :52:19.competition. Well done. Brilliant stuff from Verniaiev.

:52:19. > :52:32.Sam Mikulak was in fourth place coming into this rotation. A little

:52:32. > :52:40.bit untidy in the legs, but no problemo with the landing order

:52:40. > :52:45.direction. As the coach says, right down the line! The great thing about

:52:45. > :52:49.the American gymnasts is that they're in choosy as grows through

:52:50. > :52:57.the competition. So they will be getting hyper and more excited as he

:52:57. > :53:01.goes on. He actually hopped back in the line. He did not land on it. He

:53:01. > :53:14.very cleverly hopped back to the line.

:53:14. > :53:24.Never make a prediction about high bar. It is a tough one to go

:53:24. > :53:29.through. Ooh, and there you go. As I speak, he finds himself with a very

:53:29. > :53:33.through. Ooh, and there you go. As I early dismount. Problems for David

:53:33. > :53:51.Belyavskiy. Kohei Uchimura, almost a point ahead

:53:51. > :54:05.after three. Here he is, with number four. He is so relaxed, so measured.

:54:05. > :54:15.Ooh, two and a half twists of the handspring. Beautiful flight,

:54:15. > :54:26.beautiful style, quite a deep landing by his standards. Yeah, he

:54:26. > :54:29.had to pike down quite a lot to get the landing. Huge push, but the arms

:54:29. > :54:37.want quite straight, so he wouldn't have got the heights he wanted. This

:54:37. > :54:43.is probably the piece of apparatus where his slight physique shows the

:54:43. > :54:45.most. The volt is the same height for everybody. If you are small, it

:54:45. > :55:30.is a long way up. He was not going to miss it. He is

:55:30. > :55:40.having a good competition. Another vault with a high tariff. Good

:55:40. > :55:41.style. And he could get even higher if you didn't bend his legs so

:55:41. > :56:48.early. He has great potential. Yes, he says. Good to see him

:56:48. > :56:52.getting back into the swing. That was aimed really neatly packed

:56:52. > :56:58.routine. One difficulty after the other. And as you said, you could

:56:58. > :57:12.see his confidence gaining once the tricky bits were over. Very

:57:12. > :57:23.controlled. Lovely height and lift off the parallel bars.

:57:23. > :58:08.Look at that string of scores for Uchimura.

:58:08. > :58:17.Quietly impressive. That was a great routine. Started very promising, and

:58:17. > :58:23.he will be happy with that. Very stylish gymnast, typical of all the

:58:23. > :58:37.Belarussian gymnasts from over the years. Beautiful technique.

:58:37. > :58:44.Ryohei Kato found himself pushed into third at the halfway stage, but

:58:44. > :58:52.he has lots still to offer. Very young man, very promising. That is

:58:52. > :58:59.one of the best double twists we have seen. 20 years old, a future

:59:00. > :59:05.mapped out as part of the Japanese have seen. 20 years old, a future

:59:05. > :59:09.super machine. It was a great landing. Didn't look for the floor,

:59:09. > :00:04.so his momentum did not carry him forward too much.

:00:04. > :00:08.Max has had a good, steady competition. Gone were the nerves

:00:08. > :00:25.that were fluttering around in qualifying.

:00:25. > :00:36.Swings to handstand. Here comes the brick does not big front. He is

:00:36. > :02:05.working smoothly. Oh, and he has broken again! The

:02:05. > :02:13.nightmare has revisited. He has lost focus completely. What can you do?

:02:13. > :02:18.Now, that is a prime example of a gymnast not thinking quickly on his

:02:18. > :02:23.feet, but rather giving up and hopping off. Like you said, he

:02:23. > :02:27.should have tried to think as quickly as possible and planned for

:02:27. > :02:38.something going wrong, and he hasn't. It was a simple mistake.

:02:38. > :02:48.Verniaiev is well off his game. Now let's see what he makes of this. He

:02:48. > :02:56.has remounted. Oh, and he has gone again! It is a shame. It is about

:02:56. > :03:12.conditioning, I think. Get through the routine. So, it can go wrong,

:03:12. > :03:19.even if you are one of the best in the world. Here is the wind-up. This

:03:19. > :03:24.-- he will be so relieved for his feet to hit mother Earth. That is

:03:24. > :03:26.really unfortunate, because he was in with a real chance. He was up

:03:26. > :04:12.there with the best. Hambuechen comes to his best

:04:12. > :04:30.apparatus. He's been European champion. Fabulous swing.

:04:30. > :04:42.Lovely, straight Tkatchev over. Into the front somersault with Fulton.

:04:42. > :04:53.-- full term. Legs locked together. Not a flicker.

:04:53. > :05:02.He has shown us all types of somersaults. Now away from the bar.

:05:02. > :05:13.Two twists, two straight somersaults. That was magic!

:05:13. > :05:21.He can still get up there into the top six, certainly. This was

:05:21. > :05:26.amazing. I was on the edge of my seat! Fantastic routine, full of

:05:26. > :05:27.energy, daring somersaults, releasing catchers. It was

:05:27. > :05:42.brilliant. I'm all excited now! He produces what he needed under

:05:42. > :05:46.pressure. He is so full of confidence on the high bar. It's

:05:46. > :05:57.such a daring routine but he never holds back, does he?

:05:57. > :06:55.You saw the legs straight before they made contact. Look at the

:06:55. > :07:06.rhythm in that. Suarez, nicely done. Just the first

:07:06. > :07:08.adjustment he's had in handstand. All the kick outs have been... What

:07:08. > :07:19.a combination! Just a little hop back. That was

:07:19. > :07:25.brilliant. I absolutely love watching him work. The skills that

:07:25. > :07:30.he does our top level stuff. He makes it look easy.

:07:30. > :07:39.And that really is the measure of a fantastic gymnast, when it looks so

:07:39. > :07:52.easy. The sport is called artistic. Look at that score!

:07:52. > :07:58.Likhovitskiy has impressed us with a quiet competition. What about his

:07:58. > :08:09.high bar, Chris? Great technician all round. That was lovely.

:08:09. > :08:22.Super straight arms in all his swinging.

:08:22. > :08:28.He makes the shape changes as he goes. Oh, that was close... Nicely

:08:28. > :08:42.done into the back swings. He is very supple, a beautifully

:08:42. > :08:48.prepared to gymnast. Full twisting double straight. That was very

:08:48. > :08:53.original, enjoyable work. It's nice to see a bit of old school

:08:53. > :09:20.gymnastics in there as well. A bit of variety which is what we like.

:09:20. > :09:53.Sergio Sasaki Junior for Brazil. We've been impressed with his

:09:53. > :10:07.power. That start impressed me, his swing.

:10:07. > :10:33.Funny preparation there but it worked.

:10:33. > :10:44.He is having a very promising round. A good dismount as well. 20

:10:44. > :10:47.years old. Brazil can be proud of him. A busy, little gymnast. He

:10:47. > :10:51.doesn't let time stand still. He him. A busy, little gymnast. He

:10:51. > :10:57.controls the apparatus. Definitely not one to give up. He

:10:57. > :11:08.fights his way through everything. Which is a feature every coachloads.

:11:08. > :11:32.-- which loathes. -- coach loathes. Christine, you will be impressed

:11:32. > :11:40.this. I hope I haven't put a curse Christine, you will be impressed

:11:40. > :11:46.on him, but his high bar in qualifying was super. Well, we've

:11:46. > :12:10.certainly been treated to some fantastic high bars so far.

:12:10. > :12:22.A little bit round the houses on the Perra wet. -- wet. Oh! I laid the

:12:22. > :12:43.commentator's curse upon him. You want to catch at full stretch,

:12:43. > :12:54.but he just went two centimetres too far. Good, exciting stuff. It's what

:12:54. > :12:56.a World Championships is all about. He has to carry on from where he

:12:56. > :13:29.fell. He needs an impressive dismount.

:13:29. > :13:33.That's going to hurt! That is something we don't want to see. Miss

:13:33. > :13:44.timed his release, brought it into close to the bar. He is going to

:13:44. > :14:07.have sore ribs. Max Whitlock. He won't feel like

:14:07. > :14:13.laughing quite yet. It's only because I've spent so much time with

:14:13. > :14:19.him. We all say we can see the little traits he can -- he does when

:14:19. > :14:28.he goes on. You should see him when he tries to lock his door, he checks

:14:28. > :14:29.it six times. OCD is good in gymnastics. If you are obsessed, you

:14:29. > :15:10.get perfection. This is nerve shattering, this. Come

:15:10. > :15:27.on, Max! He was in a top six position going into this rotation.

:15:27. > :16:21.Here we go. Max Whitlock, apparatus number five.

:16:21. > :16:33.Nail it, Max. That will do! Well done. Well done, Max. Great landing,

:16:33. > :16:41.great finish. Talk about being on the edge of my seat. That was a good

:16:41. > :17:15.routine. He will be happy with that. Big dismount.

:17:15. > :17:24.This gymnast has really impressed me during this competition. As with all

:17:24. > :17:28.the Japanese gymnasts, wonderfully prepared. So supple, associate

:17:28. > :17:45.wrong, every skill performed beautifully.

:17:45. > :17:54.All these moves are linked together, and that is how the difficulty

:17:54. > :18:00.builds. Not only is it so difficult, but the execution of it is so good.

:18:00. > :18:12.The judges have got hardly any area to take marks off. Look at that

:18:12. > :18:15.landing, not a flicker. The only thing that moved was the chalk dust.

:18:15. > :18:22.Unbelievable. The top gymnasts are making it look like a high bar

:18:22. > :18:28.routine. It was beautiful. The Japanese really have taken the lead

:18:28. > :18:40.on this. This is their apparatus, parallel bars.

:18:40. > :18:49.I think that is Oliver Hegi, having a bit of a nightmare. I think he

:18:49. > :18:57.snapped his high bar guard. You should always have a spare. And you

:18:57. > :19:03.have to re-mount in 30 seconds, so will he be given extra time? He has

:19:03. > :19:09.got five seconds to get back on. If he can't, that is the end of his

:19:09. > :19:19.routine. They won't let him get back on. They have told him, that's it. I

:19:19. > :19:26.think the head judge will check with the officials. The crowd are

:19:26. > :19:36.clapping to say, give him his chance. They have cut it. That is

:19:36. > :19:49.the end of it. That is not good. I am not happy with that.

:19:49. > :20:20.Sam Mikulak can swing this apparatus.

:20:20. > :20:38.That was so quick. He is loving every minute of this. These top

:20:38. > :20:41.three gymnasts are not writing a foot wrong. When it is a big

:20:41. > :20:52.competition, that is what it comes down to. Not a hesitation. Really

:20:52. > :20:53.dynamic work. Quite a different style to that of the Japanese

:20:53. > :21:12.gymnasts. Very fast. Super, super height on that

:21:12. > :21:16.dismount. And he is smiling before he hits the floor. His smiles are

:21:16. > :21:38.getting better with each apparatus as well!

:21:39. > :22:22.Dan Purvis for Great Britain. Go on, Dan.

:22:22. > :22:36.Another wonderful landing. He landed in a bucket of quick drying cement!

:22:36. > :22:47.What he lacked in difficulty on the high bar, that dismount was perfect.

:22:47. > :22:48.He will be happy with that. It is good at this stage to do yourself

:22:48. > :22:59.justice. What a dismount. As. -- wow. It is

:22:59. > :23:47.getting thrilling now. Sergio Sasaki Junior has really

:23:47. > :24:50.impressed me in this competition. Double double! What a competition I

:24:50. > :24:59.have had, he says, and we agree with you, young man. If you do a good

:24:59. > :25:13.routine, it is cool to jump off the side. You can't ask for any more

:25:13. > :25:17.than six clean routines. Two days in a row. Lost his legs just slightly

:25:17. > :25:26.on the full twisting somersault over the bar. Full of energy. Control to

:25:26. > :25:31.the end. What a cracking way to finish. Six pieces tucked away under

:25:31. > :25:56.his belt. He has come a cropper. 30 seconds to

:25:56. > :26:24.get back on. He is only going to take ten.

:26:24. > :26:50.This is his great piece of apparatus. Let's see what he makes

:26:50. > :27:00.of it. Look at that! Three and a half twists. He is so efficient on

:27:00. > :27:12.this twisting. He knows he needs maximum difficulty, but has to have

:27:12. > :27:22.control as well. This is some of his own unique work. Lovely flair.

:27:22. > :27:51.Brings a bit of virtuosity to the whole thing.

:27:51. > :28:08.Fantastic competition, Max. He has not put a foot wrong. This will do

:28:08. > :28:13.him no harm. Amazing routine. He is a great twister. He has got me on

:28:13. > :28:15.the edge of my seat. I am all nervous. How you guys do this year

:28:15. > :28:21.after year... ! That I know he will nervous. How you guys do this year

:28:22. > :28:28.be happy with that routine. Go on, Scott! The smile is there. What a

:28:28. > :28:59.way to finish. Max is expecting a score. And by

:28:59. > :29:28.Jove, he got it. One hand will do! He did very well

:29:28. > :29:49.to hang on. We have had ups and downs in this

:29:49. > :30:05.routine in this competition. But he is going on, undaunted.

:30:05. > :30:10.He will be glad to hit mother Earth, and he did with some style.

:30:10. > :30:17.He will be glad to hit mother Earth, A few problems on the apparatus.

:30:17. > :30:22.Both the gymnasts from China have had very mixed fortunes during the

:30:22. > :30:26.competition. Hanging on with one hand, that's when you know it comes

:30:26. > :30:35.down to determination. He wasn't coming off at all.

:30:35. > :30:41.Some lovely releases here. He just didn't get the second-hand right

:30:41. > :30:48.over the bar. He did the upright on one arm,

:30:48. > :31:24.that's incredible! I guess they have to credit the

:31:24. > :31:35.move, he hung on. Had he let go and fall of... He will get the move.

:31:35. > :32:04.There'll be a big deduction. Inc. -- for stopping.

:32:04. > :32:10.He did well to get that. Fourth at the moment, but some very big guns

:32:10. > :32:32.still to come. Traditionally, this is the home of

:32:32. > :32:57.the Japanese, the high bar. This really is for a medal. He has

:32:57. > :33:07.to He is going to go through. He is

:33:07. > :33:41.determined. Wind-up, double double and just a

:33:42. > :33:48.little skip forward. He has gone through.

:33:48. > :33:55.What an impressive young man, not a foot wrong tonight. Now you can see

:33:55. > :34:01.the smile. He has been all concentration all evening. Now he

:34:01. > :34:03.has finished, he's done his job. A little bit of an edgy performance

:34:03. > :34:29.here. A couple of bent arm patches. There's the wind-up, change of

:34:29. > :34:34.shape. Lovely technique. And a little skip forwards. Kato will

:34:34. > :34:54.definitely be in the running. Very big performances still to

:34:54. > :34:58.come. Significant medal winning or medal losing performances still in

:34:58. > :35:05.the locker. Three big names still to see. Whitlock has done a very nice

:35:05. > :35:13.89 point zero 31. That will take a little bit

:35:13. > :35:52.Kato, good competition for him. He's gone into the lead with that, head

:35:52. > :35:59.of Max Whitlock. But big performances to come. Here he is.

:35:59. > :36:05.Mikulak from the USA. This, in qualification, was his best

:36:05. > :36:18.apparatus. That was very close! Huge

:36:18. > :36:20.difficulty. The full twist in the tuck as well. Two of the most

:36:20. > :36:33.difficult moves already. Oh, he held that well. Lovely

:36:33. > :36:40.catch-up with the half turns, swings. Just a tiny bit of a loss of

:36:40. > :36:49.form. That was not very good. Oh, oh! This could be a major upset.

:36:49. > :37:02.Who would have thought that? He has shown every ounce of fight.

:37:02. > :37:10.The two twists and makes the finish, but that was not... The smile is

:37:10. > :37:17.still there. We really have now a but that was not... The smile is

:37:17. > :37:22.thriller of a finish. The game is six pieces, he hit five and missed

:37:22. > :37:27.number six. That's the way it goes, he says. That's a great attitude.

:37:27. > :37:29.That was not in the script. The medal surely has gone. Let's see

:37:30. > :37:52.what happens. Hambuechen. He's got some tools in the bag for

:37:52. > :37:57.this routine. Two and a half, punch one and a half. He's always been a

:37:57. > :38:00.great floor worker. One and a half twisting tuck roll-out. Very fast

:38:00. > :38:19.pace, always moving. Into the first spindle. Showing

:38:19. > :38:25.great flair work as well as tumbling skills.

:38:25. > :38:39.A little stutter on the wide on handstand, but he's up there.

:38:39. > :38:51.Pulling back out, land it and you can see he's happy. He's gone into

:38:51. > :38:53.second. Whitlock is hanging on in third. But look who is still to

:38:53. > :39:03.come. Mikulak just faulted on the last

:39:03. > :39:29.apparatus. It always comes down to this, him

:39:29. > :39:35.last on the high bar, everyone watching him. Nerves of steel. He

:39:35. > :40:15.will shut this out. Absolute silence in the crowd. He

:40:15. > :40:19.was the top gymnast in qualification. He shows how and why.

:40:19. > :40:29.Style and difficulty. Straight into the full twisting

:40:29. > :40:47.Kovac. Lovely straight arms on the catch.

:40:47. > :40:51.Full of variety, full of difficulty. One more move... The double double.

:40:51. > :40:59.A great landing. That is a champion's performance. An

:40:59. > :41:06.unprecedented four times he's done That is a champion's performance. An

:41:07. > :41:28.it. Unbelievable! I'm happy for him. I think he was 20

:41:28. > :41:32.after the first rotation. What a fantastic competition. Those top

:41:32. > :41:41.five gymnasts without an error. Really battling it out. I actually

:41:41. > :41:44.don't think I've seen a more competitive, really well contested

:41:44. > :41:50.World Championships for a long time. I'm with you on that one, Chris. And

:41:50. > :41:59.we've seen a few between us! That was an exercise in six apparatus...

:41:59. > :42:04.Mikulak is still smiling. What an experience he's had. These two guys

:42:04. > :42:13.at the top between them have two medals. Solid gold and shiny silver

:42:13. > :42:17.for Japan. Brilliant stuff! And what a competition Max Whitlock has had.

:42:17. > :42:25.Him and Daniel Purvis, great routines, all clean. Amazing.

:42:25. > :42:30.Absolutely fantastic. Really just pushed out of a medal at the last

:42:30. > :42:35.moment by this guy, Hambuechen. He has had the competition of his life.

:42:35. > :42:50.Uchimura, confirmation if you needed it. 15.500 and 33.

:42:50. > :42:59.Such a focused, pleasant young man. True, dedicated professional. Max

:42:59. > :43:06.Whitlock, hats off, just shave away from bronze medal. Hambuechen, what

:43:06. > :43:08.a cracker he is. Everyone seems to be smiling. What a competition it

:43:08. > :43:30.has been. This is a proof of test,

:43:30. > :43:39.determination, ambition and pure, raw talent. Hambuechen emerged from

:43:39. > :43:42.in the doldrums. And here he is, a popular bronze medallist. He takes

:43:42. > :44:00.the bronze. A sign of the future. Japan

:44:00. > :44:12.thermally stamp their mark on this World Championships. Kato takes the

:44:12. > :44:29.silver medal for Japan. Flashes of brilliance. Mixed with consistency.

:44:29. > :44:38.A roar of delight. Incredible. Four times, any has done this. Four

:44:38. > :44:45.times, he has shaken hands with the guys who finished behind him. He

:44:45. > :44:58.will climb the podium with a nice, broad smile. What a popular gold

:44:58. > :45:01.medallist. Kohei Uchimura is in the history books. He is the one they

:45:01. > :45:03.all have to beat. And until he retires, no one is going to do that.

:45:03. > :45:13.Brilliant. Fourth consecutive world championship.

:45:13. > :45:41.Max, what a final to be part of, and you have proved you can hold your

:45:41. > :45:42.own with the best. Thank you, that was an amazing competition. That

:45:42. > :45:44.first experience of a World was an amazing competition. That

:45:44. > :45:45.Championships was amazing. You looked like you had barely any

:45:45. > :46:08.Championships was amazing. You nerves out there for a debut. I just

:46:08. > :46:12.wanted to enjoy it as much as I could. The qualification felt a bit

:46:12. > :46:13.stressful. But I just wanted to go out there and enjoy my first worlds

:46:13. > :46:16.stressful. But I just wanted to go and have fun. And I have. Damn, how

:46:16. > :46:24.happy are you? Over the moon. It was a big aim of mine to try and get in

:46:24. > :46:30.the top eight again, ever since the Olympics last year. So it was a

:46:30. > :46:33.fantastic atmosphere. Max, a world for the world champion. I know you

:46:33. > :46:36.were struck the first time you met him. It is difficult not to be

:46:36. > :46:38.starstruck with what he has achieved tonight. Uchimura is unbelievable.

:46:38. > :46:40.He absolutely nailed his routine. It is a pleasure to compete against

:46:40. > :46:42.him. Damn, two British boys in the top eight alongside two Japanese

:46:42. > :46:55.boys. It shows how strong the British are. It is fantastic.

:46:55. > :46:58.Especially after the Olympics, it is always hard to pick yourself up, but

:46:58. > :47:02.that is fantastic. Max, how does this set you up for the pommel horse

:47:02. > :47:05.final on Saturday afternoon? I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, I

:47:05. > :47:10.can show a good pommel routine. Well done, both of you.

:47:10. > :47:13.What a remarkable performance, to have two British gymnasts in the top

:47:14. > :47:19.eight. There is a feeling of the joy of being here when Uchimura did what

:47:19. > :47:25.he did and made history. You said it in commentary, Louis. Everybody has

:47:25. > :47:30.had such a great time. And with Hambuechen coming back from where he

:47:30. > :47:33.did! To commentate on that competition was brilliant. Even

:47:33. > :47:41.people who made mistakes were smiling at the end. It was a

:47:41. > :47:44.feel-good competition. You have got to feel for Max to finish fourth,

:47:44. > :47:51.the worst place to be. But for his first goal, it was remarkable, the

:47:51. > :47:55.way he kept his composure. It is always the hardest place to finish,

:47:55. > :48:01.fourth place. But Max will be pleased. We can't ask more than for

:48:01. > :48:11.people to go out and do their best routines. Max did everything he

:48:11. > :48:17.could. It was brilliant. Where can he make up that territory? Uchimura

:48:17. > :48:24.is impossible to beat, but can he get an extra Mark? I think he can.

:48:24. > :48:34.Max is 20 years old. If he gets a bit beefier, he can do more on the

:48:34. > :48:37.rings and parallel bars. I was reading about Uchimura saying he

:48:37. > :48:41.wants to try and make it to Tokyo in 2020. You know what it is like

:48:41. > :48:55.competing in front of a home crowd, but he will be over 3010. Do you

:48:55. > :48:58.think he will still be going all around, or will he have to

:48:58. > :49:01.specialise in something? He has got being the best in the world behind

:49:01. > :49:07.him, so maybe they will let him stay in the team for that reason. We will

:49:07. > :49:13.see. So there is hope, better? There is. We all know what it is like to

:49:13. > :49:16.compete in front of a home crowd. But me and Louis were discussing

:49:16. > :49:23.this morning and debating whether he would even make it to 2016. But if

:49:23. > :49:30.he is not doing the all around, maybe he will do some specialist

:49:30. > :49:35.pieces. We will see. But he is the most amazing gymnast we have ever

:49:35. > :49:40.had in the history of gymnastics. Let's bring it back to our lads and

:49:40. > :49:47.look at the pommel horse. We start with Dan's routine.

:49:47. > :49:58.He has always had a bit of trouble with that manoeuvre. He tends to

:49:58. > :50:05.rush. He just catches himself of God, but he picks up nicely. He is

:50:05. > :50:12.so strong, and he has been there before. So it has stood him in good

:50:12. > :50:16.stead. Yes, he went through from start to finish. He did not fall.

:50:16. > :50:23.But he tends to fall back into his old ways when it comes to that one

:50:23. > :50:33.section. What are you feeling about Max's routine, as our resident more

:50:33. > :50:39.horse expert? Hello! He tried a 7.2 here. He has got every chance.

:50:39. > :50:55.He had a bit of a skewed spindle. He is in with a real chance. There is

:50:55. > :51:04.him, the Chinese guy, the Australian. It will be a very close

:51:04. > :51:10.final. I have got my leotard underneath here! I can rip my top

:51:10. > :51:14.off will stop let's talk about the Olympics, because you did get the

:51:14. > :51:23.same score as Christian body, but he beat you an execution. Let's have a

:51:23. > :51:28.quick look at his qualifications routine. This is where it all went

:51:28. > :51:36.wrong. I think he tried a new routine. He does not usually do

:51:36. > :51:45.this. Is that an easier option for him? I don't know. I think he had a

:51:45. > :51:53.bit of an error going into that. And then that spindle. And as we have

:51:53. > :51:58.seen, it just takes that one moment, and it can all go wrong. That is the

:51:58. > :52:02.interesting thing within this Olympic cycle, because some gymnasts

:52:02. > :52:07.try and hang on a bit longer to reap the benefits of the other gymnasts

:52:07. > :52:12.that may have retired. So has Christian Berki hung onto long, or

:52:12. > :52:17.is he still in his prime? I think he has still got a lot to offer. There

:52:17. > :52:25.are not many Hungarians challenging his place on the pommel horse. He

:52:25. > :52:30.can carry on going. Unfortunately, you are not in the pommel horse

:52:30. > :52:58.final, but let's have a list of the finals that are still to come.

:52:58. > :53:05.So, let's turn our attention is to the women's competition. Becky

:53:05. > :53:15.Downie has made it into the bars final. She has always been a strong

:53:15. > :53:16.contender. She has. The past couple of years have been difficult. She

:53:16. > :53:19.contender. She has. The past couple did not quite make London last year

:53:19. > :53:26.and snapped her Achilles a couple of years earlier, so it was nice to see

:53:26. > :53:28.her back to her usual self. The routine she died in qualification

:53:28. > :53:38.was the best we could have asked for. She had once more are on the

:53:38. > :53:43.lower bar. And qualifying in fourth, she will go in with an enormous

:53:43. > :53:47.amount of confidence. Speaking to her after qualification, she was so

:53:47. > :53:52.pleased. Her aim is to get her name back out there. She has been around

:53:52. > :53:57.for a while and has always been there or thereabouts and not quite

:53:57. > :54:02.made it. So she is pleased just to be in the final. She will go in, all

:54:02. > :54:12.guns blazing. She has nothing to lose. We have two British gymnasts

:54:12. > :54:21.in that final. Ruby has got the all-round final tonight. She is

:54:21. > :54:25.young, but she has so much mental strength. As soon as you put her in

:54:25. > :54:33.front of a crowd, she seems to love it. It was difficult for her growing

:54:33. > :54:38.up, she lost her mum to cancer. She has spoken openly about it over the

:54:38. > :54:41.last few weeks. But I think she has learnt to deal with it and her dad

:54:41. > :54:49.and sisters are out here, watching her. I hope she does well. Another

:54:49. > :55:00.gymnast competing tonight will be Rebecca Tunney. She was the youngest

:55:00. > :55:06.member of Team GB in the Olympics. She qualified 13th. She had an

:55:06. > :55:12.injury earlier in the year, so she has had to fight back to fitness,

:55:12. > :55:17.but she is back now. She is strong on the floor. And again, she loves

:55:17. > :55:21.it as soon as she is in front of the crowd. She came 13th at the

:55:21. > :55:31.Olympics. The qualification was not my best. I

:55:31. > :55:38.got through the bars, which was my main aim. I had the mistake on the

:55:39. > :55:47.beam, but I showed that I can still make it. I just want to go out in

:55:47. > :55:50.the final and hopefully hit all my routines and show what I can do.

:55:50. > :55:54.the final and hopefully hit all my Qualifying is the most stressful

:55:54. > :56:01.thing to do, so now I just want to enjoy it. I know I have done it

:56:01. > :56:05.once, so I can do it again. Does it help to have Ruby alongside you?

:56:05. > :56:11.Definitely. We are always cheering each other along anyway. To have her

:56:11. > :56:18.there will be great. When they are in the crowd, you can't hear them.

:56:18. > :56:23.But when they are closer, they get us through our routines. You can see

:56:23. > :56:31.coverage of the women's all-around competition tonight on BBC Three.

:56:31. > :56:44.What will the girls be doing, with just over four ousted go? They will

:56:44. > :56:49.be back at the hotel, getting ready. They will be chilling out and trying

:56:49. > :56:51.not to think about it. There is no Gabby Douglas in this all-around

:56:51. > :56:58.competition, so the Olympic champion is not here. What are your

:56:58. > :57:11.predictions, with a new kid on the block? Simone from America is

:57:11. > :57:14.unbelievable. She has got the most amazing routines, clean and tidy.

:57:14. > :57:20.She is a powerhouse. Her floor routine is insane. Everyone stopped

:57:20. > :57:23.to watch her as soon as she walks onto the floor. She is looking for

:57:23. > :57:26.medals. She has qualified for the final, so she will be hoping to get

:57:26. > :57:30.a medal on nearly all of them. At the thing with the Americans, you

:57:30. > :57:37.don't tend to see them for more than one cycle, whereas on the British

:57:37. > :57:41.team, we try to keep them longer. She is the one to beat at this

:57:41. > :57:53.competition tonight. It is hers to lose. The Uchimura of women's

:57:53. > :57:55.gymnastics, Louis. Just a word on the arena behind us. You can see

:57:56. > :58:01.that some gymnasts have come in and are warming up for various

:58:01. > :58:07.presentations. White, good or bad? The gymnasts down there probably

:58:07. > :58:12.can't notice it. I find white Craig Dawson disorientating -- I find

:58:12. > :58:16.white disorientating. It is spreading light around the arena. I

:58:16. > :58:24.think it is good. As long as you can do your job. Beth, give us a top

:58:24. > :58:33.three for tonight? I think the Americans will be hoping for the top

:58:33. > :58:39.two. Michaela qualified, but you are only allowed two per nation. We will

:58:39. > :58:44.find out in four hours' time. Hope you can join us. Bye for now.
