:00:08. > :00:10.Now it's time for a look ahead to this weekend's rugby union

:00:11. > :00:11.internationals, with Inside Six Nations, live

:00:12. > :00:51.Last week it was Edinburgh, this week we are in Cardiff

:00:52. > :00:57.Scotland will be hoping we're not a jinx as they prepare to face Wales

:00:58. > :01:02.here tomorrow - but before we look ahead, let's just reflect on that

:01:03. > :01:19.85 days have passed since the terrorist outrage in Paris. Rugby

:01:20. > :01:32.returns to the Stade de France. He has opened France's account! He has

:01:33. > :01:41.missed. And he gets over for the try! Laidlaw draws his side on

:01:42. > :02:09.points... And Jack, what I try! That's the end of it. It is a draw!

:02:10. > :02:13.That was last weekend. Let's look ahead this weekend. Starting with

:02:14. > :02:16.the match between Wales and Scotland and Scotland. Scotland have an awful

:02:17. > :02:23.record against the Welsh, having not be condemned for nine years and

:02:24. > :02:34.having not won in Cardiff in four years. Rewind to the world record

:02:35. > :02:40.kicks. I met the man who kicked it, Paul Thorburn, a For Nations. A

:02:41. > :02:45.world record and it still stands today. His enormous penalty kick.

:02:46. > :02:54.That made the great commentator Bill McLaren go woof! Show me what

:02:55. > :02:59.happened, and it has changed. There were not these lights in your day.

:03:00. > :03:03.The stadium has changed 90 degrees but it was at the end of the

:03:04. > :03:09.line-out, the 15 metre line, and about a metre in. 62.4 metres --

:03:10. > :03:14.just over 70 yards, and that, as you can see, is an awful long way. Does

:03:15. > :03:17.it still look along with you? Yes, it is a long way.

:03:18. > :03:21.COMMENTATOR: You will not believe this, but that is the Welsh ten

:03:22. > :03:31.metres line, and Paul Thorburn is going to attempt a score-mac. It is

:03:32. > :03:37.miles to those goalpost! -- attempt a goal. I thought I needed a bit of

:03:38. > :03:45.a run-up so I ran in and gave it a bit of hoof. What a belt he has it!

:03:46. > :03:48.COMMENTATOR: That is amazing! Bill McLaren and generally was a fabulous

:03:49. > :03:52.commentator, he just brought the game alive, and he added something

:03:53. > :03:56.special to that particular the moment, which I obviously have seen

:03:57. > :04:00.on numerous occasions, and I think that was as good as the kick it

:04:01. > :04:06.self, to be honest. COMMENTATOR: I have never seen a

:04:07. > :04:10.cake like this one! Talking about the record, using quite humble about

:04:11. > :04:14.it. It must be a good thing to have a world record your name for your

:04:15. > :04:19.rugby career. I would have preferred more wins for Wales to that kick,

:04:20. > :04:23.but I will have a few beers on it now and again and enjoy the moment,

:04:24. > :04:30.and across modern technology I can see it on YouTube now and again.

:04:31. > :04:40.This would be a monster... Thorburn, then, what a belt he has given it!

:04:41. > :04:45.That is amazing! What a kick that was, and look at that, 62.4 metres.

:04:46. > :04:49.Roughly where we are. I wonder if Dan Biggar will give it a monster

:04:50. > :04:53.smacked tomorrow. He has made the headlines this week. Let's catch up

:04:54. > :05:02.with all our reporters around the home nations. As the Welsh coach

:05:03. > :05:06.Warren Gatland has never lost to Scotland and has turned to the same

:05:07. > :05:12.15 that secured that draw on Dublin on Sunday, Dan Biggar is back from

:05:13. > :05:16.the foot injury, back training, and is preferred to Priestland at ten.

:05:17. > :05:19.John Davies could win his 50th cap at centre next to Jamie Roberts who

:05:20. > :05:23.had a storming performance against Ireland. If you go into the game

:05:24. > :05:28.against Scotland and think you are just going to be going in to win the

:05:29. > :05:38.game you will come up short, because they have improved as a side. Under

:05:39. > :05:41.Vern Cotter they have not won a Six Nations game but he can wait for

:05:42. > :05:49.someone else before he wins a Six Nations game, please! In recent

:05:50. > :05:53.years for Scotland the trip to Cardiff has been a bit like visiting

:05:54. > :05:57.a fortress. Only once since the National Stadium was built in time

:05:58. > :06:00.for the millennium has Scotland won there, and how Vern Cotter and his

:06:01. > :06:04.players would like that to change tomorrow, to break this gait-mac

:06:05. > :06:09.game losing streak. But he has given his players a vote of confidence,

:06:10. > :06:13.selecting the same side that lost narrowly to England last weekend.

:06:14. > :06:19.One enforced change. Duncan Taylor coming in at centre for Matt Scott

:06:20. > :06:20.-- eight losing streak. He hopes continuity can at last breed

:06:21. > :06:23.success. Last year we came last

:06:24. > :06:26.in the Six Nations, and were very We were able to move

:06:27. > :06:29.through the World Cup, and the World Cup

:06:30. > :06:31.was positive for us. We qualified for a quarterfinal

:06:32. > :06:33.and got through some critical games. I think the players showed they had

:06:34. > :06:36.maturity and got a tight game Now we are getting

:06:37. > :06:39.ourselves in situations where we can wind, and I think

:06:40. > :06:42.that is exciting for the team, and hopefully we will get ourselves

:06:43. > :06:45.in the same situation this weekend and put things into place

:06:46. > :06:50.to work on during the week. After the draw against Wales,

:06:51. > :06:52.Ireland though this game could well defined their Six Nations

:06:53. > :06:54.championship. Because of the quick turn around the squad has spent very

:06:55. > :06:57.little time together on the training pitch but they are boosted by the

:06:58. > :07:03.return of Rob Kearney and Sean O'Brien from injury. Dave Carney has

:07:04. > :07:06.been introduced on the wing as well. Ultimately it comes down to the

:07:07. > :07:17.rugby and they are a quality side and for us we know we will have to

:07:18. > :07:20.be better than last week. If last week and's game against Scotland was

:07:21. > :07:24.all about getting the result, Eddie Jones will no expect his side to

:07:25. > :07:29.build on that performance, with the England head coach say Dulac saying

:07:30. > :07:34.they are going to Rome to give Italy a good hiding. Courtney Lawes at the

:07:35. > :07:41.back is rewarded -- saying they are going to Rome. Much focus will be on

:07:42. > :07:48.the coming man of English rugby, Maro Itoje, set to make his debut

:07:49. > :07:51.from the bench. For me expectation is people confident we can go out

:07:52. > :07:56.there and do a job and I am confident we can do it, good side,

:07:57. > :07:59.good players, coached very well and we are prepared well so we should go

:08:00. > :08:06.out and play well. Here are your matches.

:08:07. > :08:15.England will see if they can make it tonight out of two. Coverage across

:08:16. > :08:19.the BBC of course. Wales, would you believe, I've only changed 15 from

:08:20. > :08:24.the Six Nations. Warren Gatland like all the other coaches will be hoping

:08:25. > :08:28.for a vast improvement in their performances. I asked the former

:08:29. > :08:32.Scotland captain Andy Nichol what he made of last weekend. He was fairly

:08:33. > :08:37.underwhelmed. It was a wee bit disappointing, I have to say. After

:08:38. > :08:40.the freedom of the World Cup where I think everyone went out to play

:08:41. > :08:43.attacking rugby it was a bit more conservative, which I suppose is

:08:44. > :08:49.inevitable because with the Six Nations, your first game sets you

:08:50. > :08:52.up, so teams are going out to not lose, if you like. Much more

:08:53. > :08:56.conservative impact pics and approach, more pragmatic. Not the

:08:57. > :09:01.exciting free-flowing rugby we saw in the World Cup but that could come

:09:02. > :09:04.possibly. A lot of faith from Vern Cotter and Warren Gatland in how

:09:05. > :09:08.they approach those matches. Just the one change from this match and

:09:09. > :09:12.it is in Scotland? To me it is the right call. If they are good enough

:09:13. > :09:15.last week they are good enough this week. They just need to play will

:09:16. > :09:20.better. Historically Scotland have not started the Six Nations well and

:09:21. > :09:23.have only one opening fixture once, incredible and history of the Six

:09:24. > :09:26.Nations. They will get better so that they will do them a lot of

:09:27. > :09:30.good. Although it was quite painful to watch. France were lucky to get

:09:31. > :09:35.away with that fixture because they were pretty awful in places, whether

:09:36. > :09:40.not? Yes, and it is all about winning that first game. He has made

:09:41. > :09:44.six changes for tomorrow which shows he is trying things. I don't think

:09:45. > :09:48.he knows what his best team is but you doing that he has a win on his

:09:49. > :09:53.belt and it will be much tougher for them tomorrow against Ireland, a

:09:54. > :09:56.harder test. Eddie Jones was not happy with the intensity in places

:09:57. > :10:01.of his new side against the Scots but they still got the win. Yes,

:10:02. > :10:04.that is the important thing. They did not try a lot and I don't think

:10:05. > :10:10.they wanted to. They get their job. They went to Murrayfield and it was

:10:11. > :10:15.a bit like the overall Six Nations, pragmatic, very physical. The

:10:16. > :10:17.defence got better as the game went on which strangled Scotland in that

:10:18. > :10:21.second half and I just think they will be looking to take small steps

:10:22. > :10:26.with their development and so we will see a bit more from England on

:10:27. > :10:31.Sunday in Rome, and I think if they can get through these first two

:10:32. > :10:34.games with wins in Edinburgh and Rome that will set them up for the

:10:35. > :10:37.home games against Ireland and Wales and they will be in great shape for

:10:38. > :10:42.the championship. With that draw in Dublin we suddenly only have two

:10:43. > :10:47.teams who can go on to get a possible Grand Slam. Do not think it

:10:48. > :10:50.will be a Grand Slam. I think this, edition was too close to call

:10:51. > :10:53.beforehand so I don't think any team will win all five games. My

:10:54. > :10:59.favourites before the turn and where Wales and they probably still are.

:11:00. > :11:04.With the fixtures. Before the game I think Ireland would have taken that

:11:05. > :11:08.draw and at 30-0 I think Wales would have -- 30 down. Wales are the most

:11:09. > :11:13.settled side on the pitch and off it and I think we will see that come to

:11:14. > :11:16.the fore as a jumping ship develops. Is Gottesman tipping Wales. The

:11:17. > :11:23.women's Six Nations of course is running alongside the men's -- a

:11:24. > :11:31.Scottish man tipping Wales. Here is a round-up of the action. A

:11:32. > :11:34.sensational solo effort from Ireland centre -- Ireland's Centre. The

:11:35. > :11:39.defending champions looked comfortable and confident in their

:11:40. > :11:42.win over Wales. Sophie spends also crossed the whitewash in a

:11:43. > :11:48.dominating display from the forewords, backs, and with the boot,

:11:49. > :11:53.the captain kicking 11 points. World champions England were even more

:11:54. > :11:57.impressive, putting five tries and 32 unanswered points past Scotland.

:11:58. > :12:01.Miller-Mills scored twice as they looked to put last year's fourth

:12:02. > :12:05.placed finish behind them. With France beating Italy 39-0, it is

:12:06. > :12:09.they who top the table after week one. Their match tomorrow against

:12:10. > :12:13.Ireland will go some way to determining the winners of this

:12:14. > :12:20.year's championship. In the other match tomorrow England play Italy

:12:21. > :12:26.just outside of children, and Wales and Scotland will both be hoping for

:12:27. > :12:29.their first win -- just inside of Turin. The roof is off, the

:12:30. > :12:34.Principality Stadium closed tomorrow. A massive match for Wales.

:12:35. > :12:45.What will those matches bring? That's it for Inside Six Nations.

:12:46. > :12:52.COMMENTATOR: He finds the line. Again. What is run by Evans. A

:12:53. > :13:01.magnificent try. What a dry!
