:00:03. > :00:09.end of the game, there's one thing about Sir Alex Ferguson - when he

:00:09. > :00:15.does lose a game, he went over and shook hands. That's allowed. It is

:00:15. > :00:21.part and parcel of the game. That was the best part of the game!

:00:22. > :00:28.Without any punches. What a turnaround. You wrote them off.

:00:28. > :00:31.turnaround. You wrote them off. Almost? When do you ever see form

:00:31. > :00:36.like this from Manchester United? They were eight points clear. They

:00:36. > :00:43.were 40-1 on to win the title and they go to Wigan and were as bad as

:00:43. > :00:47.you would ever believe. Who wins it now? City will win it now. A tough

:00:47. > :00:52.game at Newcastle? Yes, you can go there and win the league. Hey, you

:00:52. > :00:59.go and do it. With the players they have got, they are used to big

:00:59. > :01:03.games. I haven't got a clue! I have backed the two of them all season-

:01:03. > :01:08.long. I am sure I will get one of them right! There's been so many

:01:08. > :01:11.twists and turns. You wouldn't be surprised if you got another one.

:01:11. > :01:13.Thank you very much. There's plenty more football to

:01:13. > :01:16.look forward to on the BBC this week.

:01:16. > :01:19.Late Kick Off follows us here on BBC One with all the stories from

:01:19. > :01:22.your region after a dramatic weekend in the Football League.

:01:22. > :01:25.On Saturday, Dan Walker and David James will be looking ahead to the

:01:25. > :01:35.FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool on Football Focus at

:01:35. > :01:52.

:01:52. > :02:02.We have a title race on our hands as United have company at the top.

:02:02. > :02:02.

:02:02. > :03:31.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 89 seconds

:03:32. > :03:37.crunch time for West Ham... We've delivered not the ultimate prides,

:03:37. > :03:41.but we've been very close. And for Wycombe. With teams like Sheffield

:03:41. > :03:42.Wednesday, Sheffield United and Charlton in this league. There's a

:03:42. > :03:46.Charlton in this league. There's a big difference. Crawley and Barnet

:03:46. > :03:50.will have to wait until the final day of the season. Whether we're

:03:50. > :03:52.staying up or going down, it didn't matter. We were going full guns

:03:52. > :03:57.blazing. And as we approach the anniversary of Justin Fashanu's

:03:57. > :04:04.death, can football do more to tackle homophobia? The best thing

:04:04. > :04:07.we can do is create an environment where A, home -- homosexual man

:04:07. > :04:11.would feel comfortable coming out. Hello, welcome to the penultimate

:04:11. > :04:14.Late Kick Off of the season - we're almost there! Tonight we're joined

:04:14. > :04:17.by a man who's played in the Premier League with Watford. He was

:04:17. > :04:22.even once on Dragons Den! The Brentford goalkeeper Richard Lee is

:04:22. > :04:25.alongside a man who is always reinventing himself, Mark Bright.

:04:25. > :04:31.First though Wycombe, where life is anything but dull. In 2009 they

:04:31. > :04:35.went up. In 2010 they went straight back down. In 2011 they went up.

:04:35. > :04:45.Anyone see a pattern? Richard Adams spent Saturday seeing if the boys

:04:45. > :04:45.

:04:45. > :04:50.from Buckinghamshire would once again be trading places. Volatile

:04:50. > :04:53.markets, unpredictable trends and a life lived by the virtue of what

:04:53. > :04:57.goes up must come back down. I'm not talking about the state of the

:04:57. > :05:07.stock market, but rather, the trials and tribulations of Wycombe

:05:07. > :05:22.

:05:22. > :05:28.It's like being a yo-yo. This is the third time we're staring

:05:28. > :05:32.relegation in the face in ten years. It's like a long, slow illness. You

:05:32. > :05:36.start getting a heavy cold around Christmas. You're trying to stave

:05:36. > :05:40.off pneumonia. Now we're teetering on the edge. To achieve League One

:05:40. > :05:45.status at the end of this season would be as good as promotion last

:05:45. > :05:49.year. This division is a big step from League Two. We have Sheffield

:05:49. > :05:54.Wednesday, Sheffield United, Charlton in this league, players on

:05:54. > :05:58.thousands of pounds a week. There's a big difference. The next 90

:05:58. > :06:01.minutes are the most crucial in the season. Defeat will mean almost

:06:01. > :06:11.certain relegation, but a win will see them take their fate to the

:06:11. > :06:11.

:06:11. > :07:08.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 89 seconds

:07:08. > :07:13.With two minutes remaining and leading 3-2, Wycombe had possible

:07:13. > :07:23.survival within their grasp. But two quick goals meant they were

:07:23. > :07:43.

:07:43. > :07:48.It sums the season up today. The performance, we played very well

:07:48. > :07:52.and conceded goals, late on in the game. We've scored at this level,

:07:52. > :07:59.but conceded far too many. That's why we've been relegated.

:07:59. > :08:03.Everyone's gutted, you know, it's a real bad one because obviously we

:08:03. > :08:07.could have kept it alive for next week that. Would have been a heck

:08:07. > :08:12.of a game. Everyone's disappointed and devastated. I'm sure the fans

:08:12. > :08:18.are too. You want to be here next season? I see no reason why, but

:08:18. > :08:28.that up to other individuals. But I don't see you know, I'll be here as

:08:28. > :08:30.

:08:30. > :08:33.A tough day for all connected at Wycombe, and we'll talk about them

:08:33. > :08:36.in a moment. But their defeat was good news for Leyton Orient who

:08:36. > :08:40.went to Hartlepool on Saturday still in danger. They went behind

:08:40. > :08:43.to an Antony Sweeney goal. They did get themselves back into the game

:08:43. > :08:48.though. Kevin Lisbie the driving force down the middle, and he laid

:08:48. > :08:52.it off for Jamal Campbell-Rice for a tidy equaliser. Ryan Noble

:08:52. > :08:58.condemned Russell Slade's men to defeat. Wycombe's difficulties

:08:58. > :09:07.though kept the O's up. Sighs of relief all round. You've played in

:09:07. > :09:11.a Brentford side that has twice beaten Wycombe this year. Why do

:09:11. > :09:15.you think they've struggled so much in this season? It's a tricky one

:09:15. > :09:19.to say why. We played them the first time round and they were

:09:19. > :09:24.fantastic. Though we won, we didn't deserve to. Their manager summed it

:09:25. > :09:28.up, it's the goals they've conceded. They've conceded a lot. They have

:09:28. > :09:33.played very good stuff. On the teams that came up last year, they

:09:33. > :09:37.have the joint best defensive record, they only conceded 50 goals.

:09:37. > :09:41.They've conceded something like 86 goals this season. Scoring,

:09:41. > :09:46.fantastic. 65 they've scored. Stevenage who are in the promotion

:09:46. > :09:49.play-off place, they've scored one more. You're thinking, simple, can

:09:50. > :09:55.you just not concede as many and they'd have a good chance. I back

:09:55. > :09:58.them to bounce straight back up. What about Leyton Orient, we had

:09:58. > :10:03.Russell Slade here in January, and the team going for the play-offs.

:10:03. > :10:07.Their season has really tailed off. Nose dived, one win in ten games.

:10:07. > :10:12.They've benefited from teams below them not winning. It's been a poor

:10:12. > :10:17.season. I think October they kicked in taking 14 points in that month.

:10:17. > :10:26.They haven't showed any consistency. They've stayed up which is a good

:10:26. > :10:29.thing. West Ham fans spent the season planning for automatic

:10:29. > :10:32.promotion and went into the final game with an outside chance. For it

:10:32. > :10:34.to happen, they needed to beat Hull and hope that Southampton slipped

:10:34. > :10:44.up against already-relegated Coventry. Nine months of twists and

:10:44. > :10:46.

:10:46. > :10:50.turns, of highs and lows, it all Southampton have the breakthrough!

:10:50. > :10:58.News from elsewhere is not good. West Ham still have to do what they

:10:58. > :11:08.can and hope. The diving header makes it two.

:11:08. > :11:11.

:11:11. > :11:21.He's found a way through this time. West Ham have got a goal. They're

:11:21. > :11:27.

:11:28. > :11:37.doing their bit. Two for West Ham.

:11:38. > :11:39.

:11:40. > :11:49.Oh, and it's in! Southampton again. Oh, yes, it's four. Southampton are

:11:50. > :11:56.

:11:56. > :12:01.Hull have got a goal back, so West Ham cue the play-offs. In the end

:12:01. > :12:06.this was academic in what happened at St Mary's.

:12:06. > :12:10.We're in great form because we've only lost one in 18. Unfortunate

:12:10. > :12:15.factor in that is between that has cost us the second spot or even the

:12:15. > :12:20.title by just drawing too many on the trot at home here. But, yeah

:12:20. > :12:23.it's a great record to go with, only one defeat in 18. So Sam

:12:23. > :12:26.confident they're going into the play-offs in good form. And in the

:12:26. > :12:29.play-offs West Ham will be playing Cardiff, who beat your boys Palace

:12:29. > :12:32.on Saturday. Wilfred Zaha with a fine opener for the Eagles. But

:12:32. > :12:35.Peter Whittingham and Don Cowie with the goals that ensured the

:12:35. > :12:41.Bluebirds took the final play-off place. Brighty, how do you rate

:12:41. > :12:47.West Ham's chances against them? They've been in the play-offs the

:12:47. > :12:52.last three seasons. Sam's right, the form of the teams, the last six

:12:52. > :12:56.games West Ham are the form team, with the exception of Millwall. And

:12:56. > :13:00.going into the play-offs I would fancy their chances. I looked at

:13:00. > :13:04.the last 19 games and they've got the best record, better than

:13:04. > :13:09.Cardiff, Birmingham or Blackpool. Cardiff lost five, Birmingham lost

:13:09. > :13:14.four, Blackpool lost four. West Ham have only lost two. It's

:13:14. > :13:18.disappointing, but Reading came with a great charge. They deserve

:13:18. > :13:21.to go up though Southampton. They have to go again. Everyone says the

:13:22. > :13:24.third place team it's unlucky. They're the rules. I've finished

:13:24. > :13:29.there. You have to forget what's happened now, look forward and go

:13:29. > :13:32.again. I think, I really do think they'll get promotion from the

:13:32. > :13:37.play-offs. You played in play-offs with Watford in 2008, albeit as the

:13:37. > :13:46.team that snuck in, in sixth. What do you think West Ham's mindset

:13:46. > :13:50.will be going into these games? Yeah, I think he's spot on. There's

:13:50. > :13:53.something to it... For once! Yeah. There's something to it in that

:13:53. > :13:57.West Ham looking for points, ten points ahead of the next place.

:13:57. > :14:01.There's a mental aspect to it in that a lot of them two, three

:14:01. > :14:04.months ago would expect to be on their holidays now. Then Blackpool

:14:04. > :14:07.who have come from nowhere and done what they've done. It will be

:14:07. > :14:10.interesting. Blackpool with the momentum, I'm probably going

:14:10. > :14:15.against what you're saying here, the likes the Blackpool could come

:14:15. > :14:19.through and surprise a few people. The pressure will be on West Ham.

:14:19. > :14:22.Fans expect them to do it. Ail' be at the game. It should be good.

:14:22. > :14:25.could make all the difference. Tension plays a big part as well,

:14:25. > :14:29.handling the pressure. confirmation of the play-offs line-

:14:29. > :14:34.up. Commentary of both legs on BBC London 94.9 and highlights of the

:14:34. > :14:38.second leg at Upton Park on Late Kick Off next Monday. Birmingham or

:14:38. > :14:41.Blackpool await the winners at Wembley. Our other three

:14:41. > :14:51.Championship teams were playing for little more than pride at the

:14:51. > :14:56.

:14:56. > :15:00.weekend, here's Nick Godwin to tell Watford have proved so many people

:15:00. > :15:06.wrong this season. It was fitting they should finish off in style.

:15:06. > :15:11.Deany did all the hard work before setting up Ewelumo to get the

:15:11. > :15:15.scoring started. Middlesbrough needed a win to keep

:15:15. > :15:24.them in contention for a play-off place and drew level with five

:15:24. > :15:28.minutes to go. Watford are quite used to wrecking carefully made

:15:28. > :15:30.plans. A late strike from Deany sealing the points. They finish

:15:30. > :15:40.sealing the points. They finish 11th in the table, another strong

:15:40. > :15:41.

:15:41. > :15:51.Millwall have spent most of the season looking over their shoulder,

:15:51. > :15:54.

:15:54. > :16:02.but their strong finish to the campaign augers well. An early lead.

:16:02. > :16:07.Then it was 1-1. Dicko slid in to put the sea siders in front. Before

:16:07. > :16:17.Spurs loanee Harry Kane struck an equaliser with seven minutes to go.

:16:17. > :16:19.

:16:19. > :16:22.Millwall have ended the season unbeaten in seven matches.

:16:22. > :16:26.Brighton's best league season for 20 years ended with a whimper.

:16:26. > :16:32.Their first campaign back in the championship has been something to

:16:32. > :16:36.remember, though, but no-one will be recalling Barn's attempt to

:16:36. > :16:41.break the deadlock any time soon. Barnsley weren't much better in

:16:41. > :16:43.front of goal. A drab end to a colourful season for the Seagulls.

:16:43. > :16:47.Now, this Wednesday marks the anniversary of Justin Fashanu's

:16:47. > :16:51.death. 14 years after he committed suicide at the age of 37, he

:16:51. > :17:01.remains Britain's only openly gay professional footballer. So is the

:17:01. > :17:05.sport doing enough to tackle COMMENTATOR: Oh, what a goal!

:17:05. > :17:10.That's a magnificent goal. Former footballer Justin Fashanu has been

:17:10. > :17:16.found dead in a garage in East London. It's a terrible thing when

:17:16. > :17:20.you consider the only person he could talk to was me. Whoever makes

:17:20. > :17:26.that first step, it's a massive step because no-one's done it.

:17:26. > :17:30.Every time I have done an interview about anti-homophobia, without

:17:30. > :17:33.exception, a comment that I'll get on Twitter or on something is oh,

:17:33. > :17:36.why don't you just come out then. More than a decade since his death,

:17:36. > :17:39.the hope for those who knew him is that Justin Fashanu's legacy will

:17:39. > :17:48.be to inspire change in a sport, which, many believe, has failed to

:17:49. > :17:54.keep up with changes in society. Justin was a friend of mine. He

:17:54. > :17:58.just wanted someone to talk to. That's what has to be provided,

:17:58. > :18:02.more and more where people can go and talk to someone and have the

:18:02. > :18:06.support of their clubs. If you don't have the support of the clubs,

:18:06. > :18:08.then the battle's lost. Every professional football club has

:18:08. > :18:11.signed the Government's sports charter to tackle homophobia but

:18:11. > :18:21.only 16 agreed to actively support this year's football versus

:18:21. > :18:23.

:18:23. > :18:26.homophobia campaign. It's all well and good people signing a piece of

:18:26. > :18:29.paper and saying they want to be a part of something, but how much are

:18:29. > :18:33.they going to stand on the soapbox and shout about it? How much are

:18:33. > :18:37.they willing to do and put their club's name to initiatives and

:18:37. > :18:40.direct action campaigns? One club that has played a key role is

:18:40. > :18:44.Wycombe. The team wore anti- homphobia T-shirts before a match

:18:44. > :18:47.this season. But even here, it's felt football does not yet provide

:18:47. > :18:53.an environment where a footballer would feel confident to be openly

:18:53. > :18:57.gay. It must be a problem, if not there would be openly gay

:18:57. > :19:02.footballers. There isn't. You would think that amongst the thousands of

:19:02. > :19:05.professional footballers that, the stats say there would be

:19:05. > :19:09.professional footballers that are professional footballers that are

:19:09. > :19:14.gay. There's a real reluctance for heterosexual men to stand up and

:19:14. > :19:17.fight the cause for homosexual men for a fear of what? For the fear of

:19:17. > :19:25.the exact thing we're trying to break down. We are all one and the

:19:25. > :19:29.same. I will get as much satisfaction and delight from

:19:29. > :19:33.watching a Middlesex Cup Final as I would going to see Brentford play

:19:33. > :19:39.or whether I go and watch Chelsea. What you do have, which connects

:19:39. > :19:43.all the clubs together, is they carry the name of a place. It is

:19:43. > :19:49.the reputation and the honour of that community whose name they bear

:19:49. > :19:55.that is at stake in every match. Surely, it's the responsibility of

:19:56. > :19:59.the clubs involved to really get behind anything that divides a

:19:59. > :20:02.community. There's no reason why people shouldn't be able to be

:20:02. > :20:06.themselves and still be able to support football clubs, play

:20:07. > :20:11.football and participate in any way they see fit. The best thing we can

:20:11. > :20:19.do is create an environment where we believe a homosexual man would

:20:19. > :20:21.feel comfortable coming out. You played in the same era as

:20:21. > :20:29.Justin Fashanu, what was the response in dressing rooms and on

:20:29. > :20:33.the pitch when he came out? I was playing, yeah. I was at Crystal

:20:33. > :20:36.Palace at the time. That weekend, we played against Wimbledon. His

:20:36. > :20:41.brother John was playing for Wimbledon. Obviously, he was sort

:20:41. > :20:45.of like taubted by the crowd. At the at the end of the day of the

:20:45. > :20:49.game, we used to share the ground, he came into the Palace dressing

:20:50. > :20:55.room because he didn't want to go into the players' lounge, he sat in

:20:55. > :20:58.the dressing room talking to us. It really hurt him, but yeah, it was

:20:58. > :21:01.quite shocking news at the time because obviously, nobody had come

:21:01. > :21:04.out before. 14 years on, do you believe

:21:04. > :21:14.nowadays players would have any problem accepting a team-mate if

:21:14. > :21:16.

:21:16. > :21:19.they were gay? Yeah, I think time - - times have changed. I don't think

:21:19. > :21:23.it would be a problem. I don't remember the last time lads were

:21:23. > :21:26.nice to each other in the changing room. There would be some banter,

:21:26. > :21:30.that's the life of a footballer. I think more so the terraces. I

:21:30. > :21:32.suppose it would be like anything, a player gets a celebrity

:21:32. > :21:35.girlfriend, does something different, they are going to get

:21:35. > :21:39.stick regardless. That's the way it is. But then it would be similar to

:21:39. > :21:43.a lot of things in football, it's a great medium for things to change.

:21:43. > :21:46.When it does happen, I'm sure it will bring more change and positive

:21:46. > :21:49.steps. It's a subject we shall continue to chat about. On Saturday,

:21:49. > :21:52.Barnet faced the - for them - unusual prospect of staying up

:21:52. > :21:54.before the final day of the season. They needed to beat Wimbledon and

:21:55. > :21:57.hope for favours from elsewhere, including Crawley, who could have

:21:57. > :22:04.sealed their second straight promotion at home to Hereford.

:22:04. > :22:10.Chris Slegg spent the afternoon at Underhill. Who neds a Premier

:22:10. > :22:14.League title decider? League Two is where the drama is really at. A win

:22:14. > :22:18.for Barnet at Wimbledon and they could stay in the Football League

:22:18. > :22:22.today and those 40 miles directly south of here at the broad fields

:22:22. > :22:27.stadium, Crawley are stepping out against Hereford. If they win, not

:22:27. > :22:29.only will that do Barnet a favour, it could see Crawley promoted to

:22:29. > :22:32.League One. Scott Davies had Crawley's first chance against

:22:32. > :22:36.second to bottom Hereford, who weren't expected to put up much

:22:36. > :22:39.resistance. Back at Underhill, Barnet were up against a Wimbledon

:22:39. > :22:44.side determined not to let their solid first season in the Football

:22:44. > :22:51.League fizzle out. Just after the half hour mark, came the Bees

:22:51. > :22:56.breakthrough. COMMENTATOR: Barnet take the lead!

:22:56. > :22:58.In West Sussex, Crawley still In West Sussex, Crawley still

:22:58. > :23:02.couldn't force the opener. Then ten minutes into the second half, a

:23:02. > :23:12.Hereford goal out of nowhere. Crawley were now out of the top

:23:12. > :23:13.

:23:13. > :23:18.three. Back at Underhill the nerves were on edge. The mood has changed

:23:19. > :23:22.here, that goal for haifrt at Crawley, mean if Wimbledon get one,

:23:22. > :23:29.Barnet will be in the relegation zone on goal difference.

:23:29. > :23:36.Hereford were to add to Crawley's pain. Barnet were determined to

:23:36. > :23:39.stay in control of their own destiny. Crawley's collapse was

:23:39. > :23:46.soon complete - a 3-0 defeat meaning no promotion party for them

:23:47. > :23:50.today. Events elsewhere at least keeping them in the top three.

:23:50. > :23:54.Everybody expected maybe that we believed that we were going up

:23:54. > :23:57.today. But, we didn't perform as we should have done. Hereford's shock

:23:57. > :24:03.three points meant even the two late goals, which saw Barnet run

:24:03. > :24:11.out 4-0 winners, wouldn't settle relegation issues today. For the

:24:11. > :24:14.third year in a row for Barnet, it will go to the final game. You

:24:14. > :24:20.didn't get any favours from Crawley? We thought that would be a

:24:20. > :24:23.banker. They had Torquay and Crawley, we thought we'd be safe.

:24:23. > :24:26.can't wait to get them on the pitch next Saturday, there's enough

:24:26. > :24:29.characters in there, from what I can see, we can get a victory away

:24:29. > :24:32.from home. So what it all means is from home. So what it all means is

:24:32. > :24:35.this Saturday, Barnet have to win at Burton to be sure of staying up.

:24:35. > :24:39.At the other end, Crawley have to win at Accrington to be sure of

:24:39. > :24:45.going up. Good luck to both in their respective missions. No such

:24:45. > :24:50.last day drama for Brentford in League One. Saturday's 2-1 defeat

:24:50. > :24:58.to Sheffield Wednesday ending any lingering play-off hopes. You

:24:58. > :25:05.didn't play because of the injury, but talk us through it if you will.

:25:05. > :25:09.They're a good side. They are. I suppose, all top three deserve to

:25:09. > :25:13.go up. We're amongst that. It's a shame, though we lost, on the

:25:13. > :25:19.balance of play, we certainly deserved more than we got. There

:25:19. > :25:24.was a Big Debate about that penalty. Yes, there was a small debate. I

:25:24. > :25:28.have to say their keeper was fantastic. On the balance of play

:25:28. > :25:32.we deserved better. Again, maybe that sums up our extent, in that

:25:32. > :25:35.we've been very close all season, on the fringes, and we haven't

:25:35. > :25:40.broken in. Whatever happens this Saturday at Chesterfield, Brentford

:25:40. > :25:43.will finish 9th. How would you sum up the campaign? We had the boss in

:25:44. > :25:48.earlier, he was hoping for better things. Does ninth summarise where

:25:48. > :25:52.you think you deserve to be? think so. We've been close. We've

:25:52. > :25:58.been close all season. We had this great run of late. Last weekend was

:25:58. > :26:03.a big game. Had we beat Stevenage it could have been very different.

:26:03. > :26:09.We haven't quite been good enough. We've shown glimpses. It bodes well

:26:09. > :26:12.for this season. Question for Brentford fans, but Ok, here's

:26:12. > :26:22.Caroline Barker to tell us how what happened with our other clubs in

:26:22. > :26:30.

:26:30. > :26:33.were continuing the title party in the early stages at Deepdale.

:26:33. > :26:38.Haynes into the area before steering his shot through two sets

:26:38. > :26:43.of Preston legs. They were hoping to take their season tally to 100

:26:43. > :26:50.points and when the home side entered in the party spirit, Grey

:26:50. > :26:55.gifting the ball, they looked on course to do. So the hangover would

:26:55. > :27:01.soon kick in however. Hunt with a shot through a crowd of bodies and

:27:01. > :27:11.into the bottom corner before Alexander, playing his 1023 and

:27:11. > :27:21.

:27:21. > :27:25.final game of his career, signed ended at Northampton. Wilson fired

:27:25. > :27:30.the home side in front. Their destiny remained in their hands at

:27:30. > :27:39.halftime. They profited from slack defending in the Northampton ranks

:27:39. > :27:44.to draw level. It wasn't to be quite enough.

:27:44. > :27:50.With survival secured, there was little to suggest that the Daggers

:27:50. > :27:55.could extend their eight game unbeaten run away to a Shrewsbury

:27:55. > :28:00.side needing three points for promotion. The greater need that

:28:00. > :28:05.won out ahead of top scorer Collins the difference. The shrews clinched

:28:05. > :28:11.promotion. promotion.

:28:11. > :28:15.Now the questions for you Richard. Goal keepers, wasting time, time

:28:15. > :28:20.wasting in football, you have issues on how to solve it. Yeah,

:28:20. > :28:23.it's something that, I can plug my book, is that all right?, it's

:28:23. > :28:28.something I mentioned in my book, was similar to the American method

:28:28. > :28:32.of doing a stop-watch system. It wouldn't be 90 minutes, but the

:28:32. > :28:38.ball is in play on average 60 minutes, just clarifying it's a 60

:28:38. > :28:41.minute game. The clock is restarted when it come in play. We were

:28:41. > :28:46.taught, I remember years ago, game management is what we were calling

:28:46. > :28:50.it, it was in effect, when you're 1-0 ten minutes ago, using every

:28:50. > :28:57.possible advantage to waste time. I think by doing that it would change

:28:57. > :29:02.that. It would be a revolution in football. Do you like that? A tweet

:29:02. > :29:05.here, what chance have you got of promotion next year? I think play-

:29:05. > :29:09.offs will be there next year. We're fortunate and have an owner backing

:29:10. > :29:14.the club and putting money in. Fantastic manager, great staff and

:29:14. > :29:21.we have some really good players. I think one or two additions and why

:29:21. > :29:26.not. Lee says "What has been your highlight of the season, other than

:29:26. > :29:33.appearing on Late Kick Off?" course! It would have to be the run

:29:33. > :29:36.we've had prior to last week, going seven games, five or six clean

:29:36. > :29:41.sheets, won five of the seven. We did great. To get ourselves back in

:29:41. > :29:46.the picture, a really good feeling around the club. It's unfortunate

:29:46. > :29:50.it's tailed off the last week or two. It bodes well. Is the shoulder

:29:50. > :29:55.injury something so you can have a longer summer holiday? Yeah, yeah.

:29:55. > :29:59.No, I dislocated it last season, so I just felt it again a couple of

:29:59. > :30:02.weeks ago, which was unfortunate to miss a couple of big games. I'll be

:30:02. > :30:05.fine. Great to have you on today. Now, before we go, the team that

:30:05. > :30:09.were formerly Wimbledon and moved to Milton Keynes are MK DONS, the

:30:09. > :30:12.team that started from scratch with the soul of the old club are AFC

:30:12. > :30:19.Wimbledon. As penance for your faux paus last week, we'll force Mr

:30:19. > :30:24.Bright to re-live a day he'd like to forget. The rather one-sided,

:30:24. > :30:30.nine-goal thriller between Palace and Liverpool in 1989. Goodnight.

:30:30. > :30:34.My nightmare. Don't worry, you're not in this one, this is a

:30:34. > :30:37.nightmare result. September 12, 1989, we've gone to Anfield to play

:30:37. > :30:42.Liverpool. Perhaps the best football club in the world at the

:30:42. > :30:51.time and Glenn Hussain. That didn't matter. They may have a team of

:30:52. > :30:56.household names. We have Write and Bright and in goal perery sn

:30:56. > :31:00.sukling who was to remain immovable nine times in the next 90 minutes.

:31:00. > :31:04.They scored early. Then again. Play your way out of this one. Then they

:31:04. > :31:08.scored just for luck. 3-0 at halftime. That's all right. We'll

:31:08. > :31:13.score early, keep it tight, come score early, keep it tight, come

:31:13. > :31:17.back, 3-1, heads held high, no worries. Or the other option,

:31:17. > :31:22.concede again just after halftime, then again. Then give away a

:31:22. > :31:26.penalty and they bring on a local hero to score with his first touch.

:31:26. > :31:30.But then we get a penalty and I hear, what I still think is the

:31:30. > :31:36.most optimistic thing I've ever heard any football fan say "If we

:31:36. > :31:40.get this Kev, you never know." The pressure was too much for Geoff

:31:40. > :31:46.Thomas. He blazed it over the bar. The entertainment bar kept going,

:31:46. > :31:50.they scored again. Then again. The final nail in the coffin in the

:31:50. > :31:55.last minute 9-0, eight separate scorers. That's a record and a new

:31:56. > :32:00.joke, what's the time mate? It's nearly ten past suckling. But
