:00:13. > :00:21.My name is Christian jolly, and my name is -- my favourite thing about

:00:21. > :00:31.trainers is... My trainer. That is my favourite

:00:31. > :00:33.

:00:33. > :00:38.thing about training, and this is Coming upon the shore... Twit or

:00:38. > :00:42.tweet? At this sort -- pros and cons of social networking.

:00:42. > :00:48.The have to be smart, people just to jump on what you say and take it

:00:48. > :00:54.the wrong way. We have highlights of Crawley's

:00:54. > :00:58.trip to Shrewsbury tonight. It has made a massive effect on the

:00:58. > :01:02.keeper straight away and gave everyone a little lift.

:01:02. > :01:07.Welcome all, I am Dan Walker, all that coming up tonight and the

:01:07. > :01:12.goals from the weekend. Joining me is Mark Bright and Matt Bloomfield,

:01:12. > :01:18.very happy and relieved after a 5- seagull when I do the weekend for

:01:18. > :01:22.Wycombe Wanderers. It has been a tough season for us, ups and downs,

:01:22. > :01:26.but there four commands came in and gave us a bit of a boost, and it is

:01:26. > :01:31.nice and -- nice to get our fans something to cheer about.

:01:31. > :01:38.We will kick off with Twitter. Love it or hate it, it is a talking

:01:38. > :01:43.point and -- inside football. Richard Adams went to the east end

:01:43. > :01:47.to canvass opinion on the 21st century footballer's social network

:01:47. > :01:52.of choice. Twitter?

:01:52. > :01:55.You take the Twitter -- last two letters of the end and it spells

:01:55. > :01:59.twit. They are in the public eye, so they

:02:00. > :02:03.should behave themselves, whether on camera or on Twitter.

:02:03. > :02:08.Leave it out, don't keep getting your club and countries in

:02:08. > :02:12.aggravation. The air gone men, if they want to

:02:12. > :02:16.get money, let them do it, but don't cry afterwards.

:02:17. > :02:21.In the week when the 500 million Twitter account was opened and even

:02:21. > :02:26.the Pope opened One, one of its co- founders and a certain Sam

:02:26. > :02:30.Allardyce and warned of its potential troubles. For modern-day

:02:30. > :02:39.footballers, the question is, at two tweet or not to tweet?

:02:39. > :02:43.I have been stung already. I got a 20,000 fine. It depends how you

:02:43. > :02:49.use it. You have to be smart now, because people just jump on what

:02:49. > :02:53.you say, sometimes ticket in the wrong context. If you avoid the

:02:53. > :03:03.confrontational element of it and stay with the positives, the

:03:03. > :03:08.Twitter of media is a very powerful and useful communication tool.

:03:08. > :03:15.Modern-day footballers are also up -- often being criticised for being

:03:15. > :03:18.removed form -- from the fans took analysed -- idolise them. Twitter

:03:18. > :03:23.has been applauded for allowing France to engage.

:03:23. > :03:27.Fans are hungry. If you grace that, the fans embrace you and you can

:03:27. > :03:32.embrace them. He get to see what is happening off the pitch, rather

:03:32. > :03:38.than just on the pitch. Carlton Cole is injured midweek and

:03:38. > :03:43.we find out from him, rather than speculation in the papers.

:03:43. > :03:47.It is good that they communicate with their team, but there are some

:03:47. > :03:53.things they need to keep them -- their mouths shut about.

:03:53. > :03:59.And the potential pitfalls of giving out your innermost thoughts

:03:59. > :04:02.are evident for all. Certainly some of them, but

:04:02. > :04:06.elevates them to ambassadorial statement. They come out with these

:04:06. > :04:12.sublime comments that get them in trouble, create a wave of media

:04:12. > :04:15.hype, and they should just go and play football on the pitch.

:04:15. > :04:20.When you have an expensive car and your children go to private school

:04:20. > :04:25.and you are having a dip in the pool with your beautiful wife,

:04:25. > :04:29.think to yourself, I think I can handle that bit of aggravation.

:04:29. > :04:32.For some, Twitter is more aggravation than it is worth. But

:04:32. > :04:37.in a technological age, it is here to stay.

:04:37. > :04:40.It is a great form of communication, but our players have to be sensible

:04:40. > :04:46.enough not to get sucked into anything untoward, because they

:04:46. > :04:52.will be called up for it. The tweet they are going for a

:04:52. > :04:55.shower or a shave. You have to help the young players in terms of what

:04:55. > :04:59.they put out there. They have good roll up, they are going to make

:04:59. > :05:05.mistakes. As for matters on the pitch, West

:05:05. > :05:10.Ham and Crystal Palace played out a 0-0 draw. It could summer break --

:05:10. > :05:14.probably be summarised in four of the 140 characters you can tweet.

:05:14. > :05:20.Doll. The Pope opened a personal account

:05:20. > :05:25.this week. Would that get you one there?

:05:25. > :05:30.Be 150 %, no chance. Footballers love exaggerated

:05:30. > :05:36.percentages. I am not a fan. Mark Bright, you

:05:36. > :05:40.are addicted, Matt, you are not sure.

:05:40. > :05:44.I have been left behind social media. I can see there are a lot of

:05:44. > :05:48.positives, you can interact with fans and raise your profile. It is

:05:48. > :05:51.probably a great way to use it, but you have to be very careful not to

:05:52. > :05:55.use it in the wrong way. There are some issues, Carlton Cole

:05:55. > :05:59.has been in trouble, you can list are so many footballers to have

:05:59. > :06:02.said things they should not have done and landed themselves in a lot

:06:02. > :06:06.of bother. There has been no better time for

:06:06. > :06:14.players to get close to the fans. You can hear exactly what they want

:06:15. > :06:18.to say, after, before games, but you have to be very careful, there

:06:18. > :06:23.are rules and boundaries of what you can do. Players are finding

:06:23. > :06:29.that out as they go along. They get fined, like Carlton Cole. I asked

:06:29. > :06:34.him to come back on Twitter because it is a laugh. He said, no. It is a

:06:34. > :06:38.great tool. We -- you have a lot of players at

:06:38. > :06:43.Wycombe that are honoured. Do you sit in the dressing-room tweeting?

:06:43. > :06:48.The lads know where to draw the line, no phones in the changing

:06:48. > :06:54.room. But you are able to tell exactly what they are feeling

:06:54. > :06:58.through it, and it is a great tool, I have considered it, but I think

:06:59. > :07:03.as long as players use it in the right way and don't abuse it, you

:07:03. > :07:07.have to remember everything you go on -- put on their goes into the

:07:07. > :07:11.big wide world. So managers have asked to players

:07:11. > :07:14.not to go on there at all. You can understand that, because some don't

:07:14. > :07:19.manage it well. Yes, so if you're injured on

:07:19. > :07:23.Thursday, and you say I am not playing on Saturday, I am injured.

:07:23. > :07:27.Obviously the opposition see that and will know and may adjust their

:07:27. > :07:33.team. You have to be careful. A engage the brain.

:07:33. > :07:37.As you saw, not much to talk about from West Ham's game with Crystal

:07:37. > :07:47.Palace, but plenty of other championship action to get stuck

:07:47. > :07:51.

:07:51. > :07:58.into. Watch out for a volley to and beaten with three well-worked

:07:58. > :08:03.goals. Buckley set up Craig Mikkel Smith. This marks his 20th birthday

:08:03. > :08:08.and his first goal since September. The second came from Ashley Barnes,

:08:08. > :08:13.who curled in his tenth of the season. That was followed by his

:08:13. > :08:23.11th as he put the gloss on what the manager, Gus Poyet, labelled

:08:23. > :08:25.

:08:25. > :08:30.away from home it difficult to come by. They signalled their intent

:08:30. > :08:39.early on, when hammer blow that summer hit the woodwork. Andy Teale

:08:39. > :08:42.got this going under way. -- Hamer Bouazza. Stand by for this week his

:08:42. > :08:49.tally this season. Josh Wright had never scored from the line --

:08:49. > :08:59.beyond the line before this so it - - before the Saturday. Even the

:08:59. > :09:19.

:09:19. > :09:26.their gifted Southampton their opener. He would have been released

:09:26. > :09:30.not to have deface the fit -- Alex Ferguson hairdryer at half-time.

:09:30. > :09:35.While the award of a penalty for a push by Carl Dickinson was harsh,

:09:35. > :09:40.the scoreline was not, as Lambert competed -- completed a hat-trick

:09:40. > :09:43.to take Saints back to the top leaving Watford in sick at -- 17th

:09:43. > :09:48.leaving Watford in sick at -- 17th place.

:09:48. > :09:52.We have at week talking about Twitter. He says, can you dedicate

:09:53. > :09:54.the whole programme to Josh Wright's wonder goal. This is

:09:54. > :09:58.Wright's wonder goal. This is certainly a goal to remember, is it

:09:58. > :10:01.not? The technique he uses here is

:10:02. > :10:04.unbelievable. We have seen Paul Scholes and people like that do it

:10:04. > :10:07.over the years. That has to be compared with

:10:07. > :10:14.anybody. He keeps his eye on the ball all

:10:14. > :10:18.the way. Sensational for dish. -- the way. Sensational for dish. --

:10:19. > :10:22.sensational finish. We move on to League One. We

:10:22. > :10:26.touched at the top of the programme that your team had four loan

:10:26. > :10:34.players, but how important is that resort for you?

:10:34. > :10:39.I think the last two results, losing at home against Walsall,

:10:39. > :10:43.that was a major blow. There four new lads came in and give us a

:10:43. > :10:48.freshness, they have not been fighting all season. They came in

:10:48. > :10:52.on Saturday, and to win 5-0 on Saturday, we could not have hoped

:10:52. > :10:56.for that result but it gave fans something to cheer about. It gives

:10:56. > :11:00.a little positivity to the group, confidence and makes us look

:11:00. > :11:02.forward to the rest of the season. Some of the new boys were on the

:11:02. > :11:05.Some of the new boys were on the scoresheet. The fourth goal is my

:11:05. > :11:10.favourite, we get to that in a little bit.

:11:10. > :11:20.The first goal was Paul Hayes, who we have played with for a number of

:11:20. > :11:21.

:11:21. > :11:26.years. He is not known for his pace but he took his goal there.

:11:26. > :11:34.Then it is Stuart Bevan, our Talisman all season. He does not

:11:34. > :11:37.give the defence any rest. He takes one on the back, no one

:11:37. > :11:41.reacts! Everyone stopped, no one knew what

:11:41. > :11:50.was happening! By this point I think the lads were enjoying

:11:50. > :11:53.themselves. Again, working their socks off, he has the composure to

:11:53. > :11:56.target a we in the corner and round target a we in the corner and round

:11:56. > :11:59.off a good day for us. We touched on the league table, but

:11:59. > :12:01.in terms of the psychology, the new in terms of the psychology, the new

:12:01. > :12:06.guys came in and made an immediate impact. Look at the table and you

:12:06. > :12:11.can see you have jumped up a couple of places.

:12:11. > :12:15.Losing last week at Walsall was tough and the land where low, but

:12:15. > :12:18.there fourIt came in, they have not spent 32 games fighting relegation,

:12:18. > :12:23.they have been at different clubs and have come in with something to

:12:23. > :12:25.prove. It gave us that added impetus and our lads responded as

:12:25. > :12:28.impetus and our lads responded as well.

:12:29. > :12:36.The does all about consistency, isn't it? Every week we have said

:12:36. > :12:41.Wycombe have had a bad result, and it is about keeping going.

:12:41. > :12:46.Now his teens, Leyton Orient, Chesterfield a way, all middle-

:12:46. > :12:52.level teams. Then you have Charlton, Stevenage, Sheffield Wednesday...

:12:52. > :12:56.We also have Scunthorpe, are we on Saturday. There are a few did --

:12:56. > :12:59.big games coming up. It is important we take the confidence

:12:59. > :13:03.from Saturday and move forward this weekend.

:13:03. > :13:09.So, if you are on Twitter I wish you all the best. Elsewhere, there

:13:09. > :13:10.were not many goals for our clubs, but when they did go when they were

:13:10. > :13:20.but when they did go when they were schooled -- scored in style. He is

:13:20. > :13:23.

:13:23. > :13:25.the best of the rest from League Valley for several reasons. 26,005

:13:25. > :13:34.further than 46 people took advantage of a special ticket offer

:13:34. > :13:41.and was treated to a thumping out effort from Michael Morrison. --

:13:41. > :13:48.26,000 people. This shot was deflected off Henley in the second

:13:48. > :13:58.half. Charlton are now 10 points clear at in second place.

:13:58. > :14:06.

:14:06. > :14:10.Leyton Orient thought they were on Brom had been on the -- of the

:14:10. > :14:20.bench for just four minute when he struck at the goal that denied them

:14:20. > :14:23.

:14:23. > :14:33.Brentford manager groover rustler was content of a point due to the

:14:33. > :14:35.

:14:35. > :14:39.pitch and the direct style of Scunthorpe, smacking his header

:14:39. > :14:47.against the crossbar. Brentford find themselves five points adrift

:14:47. > :14:53.Matt, you started your career at Ipswich, you have been at Wigan

:14:53. > :14:57.nine years, in your time have you seen football in League One and the

:14:57. > :15:01.two changed a lot in that time? would say when I first joined

:15:01. > :15:05.Wycombe, they were in league One as it is now, the standard has

:15:05. > :15:09.improved, the physicality, the way people lead their lives. The influx

:15:09. > :15:13.of top players at the top, it has drifted down through the leagues.

:15:13. > :15:16.The standard has improved, the game is quicker and physically stronger,

:15:16. > :15:21.there has definitely been an improvement. Some really big boys

:15:21. > :15:25.at the top, which is the best team you have played? I think I have to

:15:25. > :15:29.say Huddersfield after the lesson they gave us! In Jordan rose, they

:15:29. > :15:33.have a striker who was far and away the best finisher in the league.

:15:33. > :15:38.His goals speak for themselves. But Charlton as Iraq, Bradley Wright-

:15:38. > :15:48.Phillips, his movement and awareness was pretty good as well.

:15:48. > :15:48.

:15:48. > :15:53.-- as well. This is Charlton vows to throw away, this division.

:15:53. > :15:58.crowds they have been having, it is all going the right way. Bringing

:15:58. > :16:02.the good days back to the Valley, confident there! You have got a

:16:02. > :16:10.dodgy hip, but no-one also has an excuse for not getting involved in

:16:10. > :16:18.this. Would you like to do the Sport Relief Mile with me? I am

:16:18. > :16:27.doing it with somebody already. only you had called yesterday!

:16:27. > :16:31.That is all coming up at the end of the march. Now the race for

:16:31. > :16:41.automatic promotion in the two, 4th against fit the night, Shrewsbury

:16:41. > :16:44.

:16:44. > :16:48.against Crawley. Phil Parry is your took a deflection on the way

:16:48. > :16:58.through, gathered by Chris Niel at the second attempt. It took a flick

:16:58. > :17:04.

:17:04. > :17:09.of this? He can, and he scores! The man who has been at the thick of it

:17:09. > :17:13.for so much of that first half put it through midfield. Billy Clarke

:17:13. > :17:19.has been lively as well. A lovely ball and a great finish from John

:17:19. > :17:29.Akinde A, his first goal in Crawley colours since signing last summer.

:17:29. > :17:31.

:17:31. > :17:37.It is a good little flick to of fortune about the way the ball

:17:37. > :17:42.ended up at his feet. Taylor with the ball infield. It was a drag

:17:43. > :17:52.death it, wasn't it? It ended up at his feet. -- dragged effort. One

:17:53. > :18:13.

:18:13. > :18:21.with it. Morgan towards the edge of the area, and he has scored, shrews

:18:21. > :18:27.retake the lead! The two half-time substitutes combining. --

:18:27. > :18:30.Shrewsbury take the lead. Steve Evans is absolutely furious. He

:18:30. > :18:34.believes that in the build-up to that goal, Crawley should have been

:18:34. > :18:44.given a free kick. This is what he is complaining about. Is the elbow

:18:44. > :18:57.

:18:57. > :19:04.all over the place, and it has been We missed three or four good

:19:04. > :19:09.chances to go 2-0 up at to equalise with the last kick. Not to be, but

:19:09. > :19:12.we will take it on the chin and go again at the weekend. Here is

:19:12. > :19:22.Caroline and Nick to run you through the other four League Two

:19:22. > :19:30.

:19:30. > :19:33.for Wimbledon. The bit in between went horribly wrong. The Dons took

:19:33. > :19:42.the lead after just seven minutes. This is where it started to come

:19:42. > :19:46.apart. Less than one minute later, Crewe were in front, Powell

:19:46. > :19:52.finishing coolly. Just after the half-hour, Greg Pearson popped up

:19:52. > :19:56.in the box. He cannot score from here, surely? Afraid so. Crewe

:19:56. > :20:01.should have wrapped things up when Ashley Westwood stepped up to the

:20:01. > :20:06.spot, but Brown kept the game alive. And now the happy ending, San Remo

:20:06. > :20:14.let fly with nine minutes to go to make it 3-24 star substitute

:20:14. > :20:24.Christian jolly sent his injury time header goalwards for an

:20:24. > :20:30.

:20:30. > :20:36.Gillingham when this flick-on was converted by Simon king. Their

:20:36. > :20:40.second came after Tomlin was brought down. Joe Oastler saw the

:20:40. > :20:44.red card seemingly in a case of mistaken identity. No mistake from

:20:44. > :20:54.the spot by cared well as the home side chalked up their first win in

:20:54. > :21:08.

:21:08. > :21:17.Brown made it three when he squeezed his shot past the Barnet

:21:17. > :21:22.defence. Then he profited from some slack defending. That made it 4-0.

:21:22. > :21:32.The consolation came when his drive was kept out only for Charlie

:21:32. > :21:37.

:21:37. > :21:42.Taylor to give the travelling fans to thank for avoiding defeat to

:21:42. > :21:47.relegation rivals Plymouth. First a Luke Daley hit the upright, then 60

:21:47. > :21:52.seconds later, after a save by keeper Jonathan Bond, Robbie

:21:52. > :21:59.Williams struck the same part of the same upright. But a first away

:21:59. > :22:04.point since January 2nd cannot lift You are part of the Wigan side that

:22:04. > :22:11.came out of that division last season. How big a step up visit?

:22:11. > :22:15.Was it difficult right from the off? Yes, obviously the budgets at

:22:16. > :22:20.the top, and the top teams, the top five or six, they take care of

:22:20. > :22:24.themselves, but apart from that is a fairly even kind of league. Some

:22:24. > :22:28.teams are more streetwise and know how to get results more than others,

:22:28. > :22:33.and that is why we have struggled a bit more. It is definitely a step

:22:33. > :22:37.up in standard, but Stevenage and Bury have shown that it can be done.

:22:37. > :22:42.To the players talk about the prospect of relegation, or do you

:22:42. > :22:45.try to ignore it? It is inevitable, when you are at the bottom of the

:22:45. > :22:48.league, you talk about what you have got to do to get out of the

:22:48. > :22:52.situation. No-one talks about the possibility of actually going down,

:22:52. > :23:00.it is about how to get out of the situation and achieve something,

:23:00. > :23:05.because to stay in the league is an achievement for a club of our size.

:23:05. > :23:08.Dagenham and Redbridge, bottom-of- the-table, they will be considering

:23:08. > :23:14.relegation, although an important point against Plymouth. You need to

:23:14. > :23:17.beat the teams around you. They have but two games coming up...

:23:17. > :23:22.have put everything on that sheet! You have got to get points from

:23:22. > :23:28.them, because then they see Swindon, and they are top of the league. It

:23:28. > :23:32.is still double. As we have seen, Gillingham managed a first win in

:23:32. > :23:35.seven league games on Saturday. A man who has played a big part in

:23:35. > :23:38.that is a club legend he was brought back to the Priestfield by

:23:38. > :23:45.Andy Hessenthaler to help steady the ship. We send Mark Bright to
