:00:15. > :00:28.Hello and welcome to the show. Still so much to play for in the season.

:00:29. > :00:31.Our Brentford Championship bound? Mark Warburton joins us in the

:00:32. > :00:34.studio. The Watford boss leaves us in no

:00:35. > :00:44.doubt who is calling the shots at Vicarage Road. I am the gaffer.

:00:45. > :00:52.Whitcomb and the Daggers go head`to`head. Somebody could be a

:00:53. > :00:59.hero. It is a wonderful feeling. And the addict whose love for Charlton

:01:00. > :01:04.was rewarded with a job there. Double marking tonight, joining Mark

:01:05. > :01:07.Bright and myself is the Brentford manager, Mark Warburton. Ten years

:01:08. > :01:11.ago, you were working in the city as a trader, if you ever imagine you

:01:12. > :01:18.would be sitting next to the great Mark Bright? Not for a moment. It

:01:19. > :01:27.was always a dream. A distant dream, but thankfully it has only been

:01:28. > :01:30.there. Brentford could be playing QPR in the Championship next season.

:01:31. > :01:33.They went to Bournemouth on Saturday, needing a win to keep

:01:34. > :01:39.alive their fate hopes of automatic promotion to the Premier League. But

:01:40. > :01:50.it was another difficult day. Welcome to the south coast.

:01:51. > :02:02.It is an early chance. And the goal! 20 seconds into the second

:02:03. > :02:06.half, and didn't he take it well? He is watching here because Bournemouth

:02:07. > :02:19.have a chance. They may still have a chance. A real chance for Queens

:02:20. > :02:26.Park Rangers. That could be trouble. Green is in there, heads up. Harry

:02:27. > :02:31.Redknapp on his return to Bournemouth.

:02:32. > :02:34.QPR are now ten points off the automatic promotion places, it looks

:02:35. > :02:38.like it will be the play`offs. Why have they struggled this season?

:02:39. > :02:49.They had a great start. Two losses in 20. And I think you can look and

:02:50. > :02:58.say that they have had a horrific injury list. But the list goes on.

:02:59. > :03:07.Having a look at the squad, the players out on loan, they are the

:03:08. > :03:12.players he has let all alone, the club with the biggest budget are

:03:13. > :03:15.there or thereabouts and it is disappointing for QPR but I think

:03:16. > :03:19.they can do it through the players because of the quality. We saw a

:03:20. > :03:24.really high quality goal there. Mark, you have gone for the young

:03:25. > :03:33.and hungry approach at Brentford. What is the missing ingredient? We

:03:34. > :03:37.have some young players, but is the role of the senior pros. I am sure

:03:38. > :03:43.it is getting the balance right. Harry Redknapp has pointed to the

:03:44. > :03:46.fact that Reading and Wigan came down from the Premier League. No one

:03:47. > :03:53.is talking about them as much. `` Wycombe. We talked about it at the

:03:54. > :04:00.end of the season, they increased the budget by 17 million. They have

:04:01. > :04:07.huge Premier League experience in their squad. You would have to look

:04:08. > :04:12.at that, QPR, nearly 1500 Premier League starts. Double the amount of

:04:13. > :04:17.virtually anyone else. Looking at Leicester, what a fantastic job they

:04:18. > :04:23.have done so far, getting promotion. Everyone expected Harry to do it,

:04:24. > :04:27.and I still expecting to do it. With the budget they have had, QPR fans

:04:28. > :04:32.will expect it as well. Well, they can still do it. Mark Warburton is

:04:33. > :04:36.not the only person who began his first managerial job in December.

:04:37. > :04:39.When Zola resign, Watford town to another Italian. But he is not quite

:04:40. > :04:57.as well as acquainted with Britain. Pepe, welcome to the British

:04:58. > :05:10.institution that is the greasy spoon cafe. Can we interest you in some

:05:11. > :05:18.liver and bacon? Beef, I eat always. He says, if I keep eating, I have to

:05:19. > :05:27.change my suit. We will stick to the copy then! What has been your

:05:28. > :05:37.highlight since arriving? If you are able to take off the last ten

:05:38. > :05:46.minutes of each game we play... We might be on the top three of the

:05:47. > :05:50.league. But this is football. So many players have come and gone over

:05:51. > :05:56.the last couple of seasons, it looks chaotic. Lucas Neill arrives and

:05:57. > :06:00.plays eight minutes, then goes off on loan to Doncaster. Does that make

:06:01. > :06:09.life difficult for you, that level of instability? This is a good

:06:10. > :06:17.reflection, but you have to know what is behind each season. Lucas

:06:18. > :06:23.Neill joined the club, we had some problems with suspension and

:06:24. > :06:27.injury. We would like to underline that at Watford, I am not acting as

:06:28. > :06:35.a manager, my contract is head coach. We decide together how to

:06:36. > :06:43.build the team. But on the pitch, he does the choosing. Would you want to

:06:44. > :06:46.have more of a say this summer, because some of the signings that

:06:47. > :06:55.have arrived here, they have not worked out. I think the window of

:06:56. > :07:02.the market is always very difficult. My career, I always was head coach.

:07:03. > :07:07.Because in Italy, you have always a sport director, that works with you.

:07:08. > :07:14.Can you be your own man here, can you be brought in as a yes man, to

:07:15. > :07:32.do the bidding of the owner? Yes`man? I don't know a yes man. I

:07:33. > :07:35.am gaffer. Always. I think I got that one. We asked some fans to send

:07:36. > :07:38.us some questions. We got a question from Mark saying, which there has

:07:39. > :07:52.impressed you the most since you're right? `` since you're right.

:07:53. > :08:07.Troy is a striker, I think he deserves to be mentioned. When it

:08:08. > :08:13.comes to the songs and the chance from the fans on the terraces, Mike

:08:14. > :08:26.is asking, what is the Italian for Pepe, give us a wave? We would like

:08:27. > :08:31.to underline to the supporters that it is to focus on the pitch and not

:08:32. > :08:35.hearing from up above the pitch. So when he gives a wave, it is because

:08:36. > :08:50.someone from the front of the bench is calling him. This is the

:08:51. > :08:57.translation. Did they use in wish when they are

:08:58. > :09:04.chatting at you? Not too much, unfortunately. Looking at Watford,

:09:05. > :09:11.better things were expected of them this year. What is happening there?

:09:12. > :09:16.Obviously, some of the players are out. Some of the players they

:09:17. > :09:21.brought in this time did not have the effect it had last year. They

:09:22. > :09:26.almost pulled it off. I think the coach looked at last`minute goals or

:09:27. > :09:30.goals in the last period, they would have been a lot happier. They are

:09:31. > :09:35.ten points off the play`offs and I do not think we can do it this year.

:09:36. > :09:41.He mentioned Troy. Scoring 20 goals, he has been excellent. But

:09:42. > :09:46.they have not been effective this year with their loan signings. He

:09:47. > :09:50.has been scoring goals. People might not be aware that you were at

:09:51. > :09:53.Watford for four years or so in various `` and the various

:09:54. > :10:05.interesting characters, tell us about your time there. Brendan

:10:06. > :10:11.Rodgers came in, and Sean Dyche. For me, it was a fantastic time to learn

:10:12. > :10:16.so much. But a bit short of cash at times. You had to put you hand in

:10:17. > :10:22.your pocket. I had to do lots of different jobs. But it is part of

:10:23. > :10:26.the game. It is a rude awakening but it gives you a grounding.

:10:27. > :10:34.To our other three Championship teens. A crucial win for Millwall.

:10:35. > :10:42.It is Emma Jones and Ian Ramsdell. `` here is.

:10:43. > :10:46.Nothing but victory would do for a Millwall team who are in the last

:10:47. > :10:50.chance saloon when it comes to avoiding relegation. They made seven

:10:51. > :10:55.changes to the team, and it paid off. Scott Malone's shot took a

:10:56. > :11:02.deflection to give them the lead. They were 2`0 up before the break.

:11:03. > :11:05.Jimmy Paterson did manage to get one back early in the second half for

:11:06. > :11:09.the home side, but Millwall clung on for the third away win this season.

:11:10. > :11:19.If they can beat Wigan on Tuesday, they could be out of the drop zone.

:11:20. > :11:28.Charlton are hovering above the danger line. Neither the addicts nor

:11:29. > :11:35.Reading had a goal`scoring chance in the first half. The second half

:11:36. > :11:41.improved. Danny Guthrie's free kick forced a fine stop. However, the

:11:42. > :11:56.Charlton keeper could do little to prevent this powerful strike from

:11:57. > :11:59.Danny Williams. Brighton are five points of the

:12:00. > :12:05.play`offs after fifth game without a win. And they could have, we from

:12:06. > :12:10.Barnsley with nothing. Brian McLauchlin was inches away from

:12:11. > :12:14.heading them ahead but was denied by the crossbar. The home side were

:12:15. > :12:18.down to ten men when one of the players worse sent off for two

:12:19. > :12:23.yellow cards in two minutes for two files `` fouls. The first booking

:12:24. > :12:27.for a shoulder charge, the second for pulling back the midfielder.

:12:28. > :12:32.Oscar Garcia felt his team was better on the day but did not take

:12:33. > :12:37.their chances. Well they have more away at Leicester on Tuesday?

:12:38. > :12:44.Mixed fortunes for our chum act clubs. Mark, back to you `` our

:12:45. > :12:52.Championship clubs. We talk about pressure in the game, but can you

:12:53. > :12:56.give your players are some prospective? It is important to give

:12:57. > :13:01.them an idea that it is not just the football world that has the pressure

:13:02. > :13:05.and the words etc. I took the boys to Canary Wharf. They thoroughly

:13:06. > :13:11.enjoyed it, it was a real eye`opener. We almost what happened

:13:12. > :13:16.at the end of last season, crucial penalty, it didn't happen. They see

:13:17. > :13:23.how other young guys deal with pressure. The focus during the

:13:24. > :13:33.course of everyday. For me, it was a worthwhile expense. `` is billions.

:13:34. > :13:44.`` experience. We had three games up north, and three games we did not

:13:45. > :13:48.really fulfil our abilities. A great ball here. A great touch and a good

:13:49. > :13:53.finish. Delighted with that one. After half`time, the second and the

:13:54. > :14:03.third. A good all`round team performance. When Uwe Rosler left,

:14:04. > :14:11.did you have to persuade Matthew ben and that you were the man? We played

:14:12. > :14:16.Carlisle on Saturday and there were talking about potential and it is, I

:14:17. > :14:20.spoke to Matthew on the Sunday morning and his first words were to

:14:21. > :14:26.offer me the job. He has been very supportive at a difficult time. What

:14:27. > :14:31.will you have to change if you get promotion? We want a balance of

:14:32. > :14:39.players that are young and hungry and some senior players in there.

:14:40. > :14:44.But we have to look to instead of being a fire fronts a, looking at

:14:45. > :14:47.the school, I am sure they will support the playing squad and look

:14:48. > :14:52.around, what we need to go up there and make a real impression? We do

:14:53. > :14:55.not want to be one year up in one year back down again. We have to

:14:56. > :15:00.look at all areas and look at where we are. I am sure the support will

:15:01. > :15:04.be there. Will it be a case of getting in a lot of on loan players

:15:05. > :15:11.from Premier clubs? It has worked well in Division 1. You have to make

:15:12. > :15:17.sure your players can develop, that is the key point. They have come to

:15:18. > :15:21.your club for education. In the Championship, it is a different

:15:22. > :15:28.level of player we are looking at, every second or third level for

:15:29. > :15:30.certain players. Another of our clubs, Leyton Orient, has been

:15:31. > :15:33.alongside Brentford all season in the race for automatic promotion.

:15:34. > :15:38.It's with them that we begin our round`up of Saturday's League One

:15:39. > :15:41.action. Russell Slade celebrated four years

:15:42. > :15:46.in charge of Leyton Orient with a point against one of his former

:15:47. > :15:49.clubs. He would have hoped for all three, having seen them take the

:15:50. > :15:52.lead courtesy of a cool finish from Dean Cox but United had their

:15:53. > :15:59.equaliser when Jamie Murphy latched onto a loose ball to dribble around

:16:00. > :16:02.Jamie Jones and tap home. It is now five games without a win for Orient

:16:03. > :16:11.who are seven points off the automatic promotion spots. A late

:16:12. > :16:16.goal for Crewe would mean a fifth straight defeat for Crawley. In the

:16:17. > :16:19.battle to avoid the drop from League One, Crewe went ahead with this

:16:20. > :16:23.close range finish. John Gregory knows his side have not scored

:16:24. > :16:28.enough goals recently. This cracking equaliser would count for nothing.

:16:29. > :16:33.Instead, this goal ten minutes from time would give the visitors a vital

:16:34. > :16:44.three points. Crawley visit second place Brentford on Tuesday.

:16:45. > :16:47.There were going to be seven goals in the game at the Priestfield and

:16:48. > :16:50.so they had to start early. Very early in fact with Gillingham

:16:51. > :16:57.conceding just 13 seconds from kick`off. The equaliser was headed

:16:58. > :17:00.in on the half`hour mark before Myles Weston put them in front but

:17:01. > :17:03.the headlines will be made by the substitute Tom Hitchcock, getting

:17:04. > :17:12.the first of his hat`trick after beating the offside trap. With six

:17:13. > :17:15.minutes left, Bradley Dack made it 3`2 with a goal worthy of winning

:17:16. > :17:21.the match but Peter Taylor was left frustrated as his side threw away

:17:22. > :17:25.all three points. Hitchcock grabbing his second to make it 3`3 and then

:17:26. > :17:31.in the last minute, he lifted the ball over Stuart Nelson to claim the

:17:32. > :17:35.win and the match ball. High`scoring Rotherham are now assured of a

:17:36. > :17:41.play`off place. On Tuesday the Gills visit another team hoping for

:17:42. > :17:43.promotion, Peterborough. After that match, Kent police

:17:44. > :17:45.confirmed three Gillingham fans were arrested after allegations they

:17:46. > :17:51.racially abused Rotherham's manager, Steve Evans. They have been bailed

:17:52. > :17:54.until May seven. In the Crawley Crewe match, police ejected a fan

:17:55. > :17:59.from the stadium amid suspicions he was aiding an illegal betting

:18:00. > :18:03.syndicate. An investigation is ongoing. Now to matters on the pitch

:18:04. > :18:08.and this is how the top of League One looks at the moment. Brentford

:18:09. > :18:13.looking good, they have a six`point cushion in second place. We saw

:18:14. > :18:19.Rotherham scoring there, do you see them now realistically as your main

:18:20. > :18:23.rivals for automatic promotion? They've had a fantastic run. But

:18:24. > :18:32.many twists and turns so it is still very tight there. A huge win for you

:18:33. > :18:35.at Orient. We saw what that meant to you, something Russell Slade wasn't

:18:36. > :18:45.too happy about. Tell us what was going through your mind. I went over

:18:46. > :18:50.to shake his hand but it was a big game and much was at stake. A

:18:51. > :18:57.tremendous performance by the boys and we were delighted with the

:18:58. > :19:00.result. You have Crawley next at home and they have somehow managed

:19:01. > :19:06.to lose five games in a row after that victory over Wolves. Is this a

:19:07. > :19:10.good time to play them? No, it is a dangerous time to play them. A very

:19:11. > :19:15.experienced manager and lots of pace about this team. A tough game and we

:19:16. > :19:19.have to be at our best but we're hoping for the right result. A shame

:19:20. > :19:23.you're at home on a night Chelsea are at home in the Champions League

:19:24. > :19:27.but you will be hoping for a decent turnout. If you are joining us even

:19:28. > :19:31.later tonight and you have missed the first part of the show, you can

:19:32. > :19:36.see it all on the BBC iPlayer. We are here all week, as are the other

:19:37. > :19:39.six regional versions of the show. Two of our clubs met each other on

:19:40. > :19:42.Saturday. In the four previous seasons we have been on air, Wycombe

:19:43. > :19:45.have changed divisions three times and Dagenham Redbridge twice. A

:19:46. > :19:48.potential exit from different ends of League Two still a possibility

:19:49. > :19:52.for both of them, we sent our reporter along to see who could move

:19:53. > :19:56.closer to their end of season target.

:19:57. > :19:59.A split loyalty today with two of our teams going head`to`head. One

:20:00. > :20:11.struggling for survival, the other can have a more relaxed meal as they

:20:12. > :20:14.try to sneak into the play`offs. It's all about momentum and we are

:20:15. > :20:19.unbeaten in eight games. We have great momentum going into the game.

:20:20. > :20:28.We were in Wycombe's position last year and it is not nice. It is an

:20:29. > :20:32.emotional roller`coaster. We know we are only five points off with six

:20:33. > :20:35.games to go and we want to get in there. We were hot favourites to go

:20:36. > :20:40.down at the start of the season. We are in a position now where I think

:20:41. > :20:44.we are safe so we are looking up and it's a wonderful feeling. We have to

:20:45. > :20:48.win the game and that means we have to work hard but we have no pressure

:20:49. > :20:53.whatsoever. We go out there, express ourselves and we want to win the

:20:54. > :20:59.game. We are on a wave at the moment and hopefully that will continue. A

:21:00. > :21:01.happy Daggers camp but what of Wycombe, just three points above

:21:02. > :21:07.relegation with six games to secure their football league status. It's a

:21:08. > :21:11.worrying time for us on and off the pitch here so we have to trust the

:21:12. > :21:14.players and the desire and the want to be a football league player next

:21:15. > :21:19.year and the battle we are in, you've got to relish it. These

:21:20. > :21:24.things are designed to test you and it's hard work at the minute. We are

:21:25. > :21:28.not where we want to be in the league but we will approach it

:21:29. > :21:33.head`on. Our defensive record is good, it's just the goal`scoring we

:21:34. > :21:36.need to address. It is in our hands, we have to not worry about whatever

:21:37. > :21:43.the other team's doing. If we get the points, we will be safe. We can

:21:44. > :21:48.be a hero and we can keep this club in the football league. We have to

:21:49. > :21:54.make sure we go out there and do it. Hopefully today we will see some

:21:55. > :22:11.free`flowing goal`scoring. COMMENTATOR: Saunders goes for a

:22:12. > :22:16.dodgy header. It's all going off here now. Scott Doe is being

:22:17. > :22:23.wrestled by his own team. Scott Doe is being sent off. Going forward,

:22:24. > :22:33.looks for a penalty and he gets the penalty! Craig steps forward and

:22:34. > :22:39.they have the lead! Wood, to the edge of the area. The shot is in!

:22:40. > :22:44.Wycombe double the lead and it looks like Wycombe are going to get all

:22:45. > :22:47.three points. A major talking point, the sending

:22:48. > :22:53.off, five or six minutes before half`time, of Scott Doe. Our keeper

:22:54. > :22:58.got the ball and their striker is not even near the ball and left his

:22:59. > :23:02.boot in on the keeper. I was just protecting him, saying, you can't do

:23:03. > :23:06.it. I walked over to him, he headbutted me. You raise your hands,

:23:07. > :23:11.your arms, put it around someone's neck, you get a sending off, I have

:23:12. > :23:14.no problem with that. With the sending off, think we gave them a

:23:15. > :23:19.good game. Our midfield dominated their midfield. Going down to ten

:23:20. > :23:22.men may have helped us a little but I believe we would have got the

:23:23. > :23:26.result. I apologised but I have never reacted like that in my life.

:23:27. > :23:30.It is just the passion and I want to win games but you want to protect

:23:31. > :23:34.your own as well. It's a big three points for us. If we had not won

:23:35. > :23:38.today, it would have been difficult. We are six points off. We have five

:23:39. > :23:44.games to go. There's still a chance, isn't there? We have done well

:23:45. > :23:47.today. What he has achieved at Dagenham is really good. Today

:23:48. > :23:53.belonged to us and I am really proud of the boys.

:23:54. > :23:57.A huge win there for Wycombe. A difficult week for them? Stephen

:23:58. > :24:02.Craig voices disapproval of not being paid bonuses, him and some of

:24:03. > :24:07.the team. I think they showed their displeasure to him saying that and

:24:08. > :24:13.giving him boos. When he scored the penalty that secured the three

:24:14. > :24:19.points, those boos turned to cheers. A goalless draw for Wimbledon

:24:20. > :24:23.against Bristol Rovers. Jack Midson in particular had a personal dual

:24:24. > :24:29.with the goalkeeper. He goes around him here and he takes his time. It

:24:30. > :24:32.is one of those where they created a lot of chances and dominated the

:24:33. > :24:41.game but they couldn't get the ball into the back of the net. Six points

:24:42. > :24:53.and six places above the relegation zone, I think they are going to be

:24:54. > :24:57.OK. Going back to Brentford, you've got a very fancy new stadium coming

:24:58. > :25:03.up in the next couple of years which you could really do with some

:25:04. > :25:06.championship football there. Our long`term aim is to have football

:25:07. > :25:15.that brings the fans in to fill that stadium. It is a very real target

:25:16. > :25:18.for the team now. A bit disappointing there's not a pub on

:25:19. > :25:25.each corner! Are there going to be pubs nearby? I am sure they will

:25:26. > :25:30.find a few nearby! What has the owner said to you about what the

:25:31. > :25:34.targets are? Is Premier League football a realistic possibility?

:25:35. > :25:38.He's a very ambitious man, fantastic supporter of the club. He supports

:25:39. > :25:44.us in every way possible so I can't speak highly enough of him. For us,

:25:45. > :25:47.we know how ambitious he is and we have to match that in a structured

:25:48. > :25:55.way. Hopefully we can achieve our target. We have some tweets coming

:25:56. > :25:59.in and Simon says, who are the best team you have played this year? We

:26:00. > :26:03.were beaten 3`0 by Rotherham last week and they were very strong,

:26:04. > :26:12.powerful team. They were impressive. There are some very accomplished

:26:13. > :26:18.teams. You have Frank McParland from the Liverpool Academy, what has he

:26:19. > :26:22.brought? He has come in as Sporting Director. He has a fantastic

:26:23. > :26:26.knowledge of the game and is highly respected. Delighted to get him on

:26:27. > :26:34.board and David Weir as well. Immediate respect for the players.

:26:35. > :26:38.Two great acquisitions for the club. Marcello Trotta has been fantastic

:26:39. > :26:41.for you. We know what happened at the end of last season but is he

:26:42. > :26:45.somebody you can keep hold of bearing in mind that Fulham might

:26:46. > :26:48.well be in the same division as you next year? Who knows, he learned

:26:49. > :26:53.from last year, he came over that disappointment and all credit to

:26:54. > :26:57.him. It's difficult in West London with all the competition with big

:26:58. > :27:07.clubs, how hard is it to get the players and fans in? It is very

:27:08. > :27:09.hard. But it is a great location for the new stadium. Hopefully good

:27:10. > :27:18.access and hopefully football will attract the fans.

:27:19. > :27:23.For many of us, following our football team is an addiction. That

:27:24. > :27:28.is certainly the case of Charlton fan Paul Ellis who went to 800

:27:29. > :27:31.consecutive games in the mid`1990s. When they realised he could not stay

:27:32. > :27:38.away from the valley, they ended up giving him a job. Good night.

:27:39. > :27:42.My name is Paul Ellis and I first came down here in 1961. I used to go

:27:43. > :27:52.to home and away every season for quite some seasons. From about 96 to

:27:53. > :27:57.2008, I must have seen 800 matches. The final ` I'll never forget that.

:27:58. > :28:01.COMMENTATOR: Only a minute of stoppage time to be added on. We

:28:02. > :28:05.were behind them, then back level. Then the penalty shoot out. Mark

:28:06. > :28:15.took the penalty and he just saved it. The whole ground just went mad.

:28:16. > :28:24.We knew we were in the Premiership. COMMENTATOR: He is their hero! My

:28:25. > :28:31.main role here is to do the post. I used to come down here every day to

:28:32. > :28:34.help out. I used to do the programmes, take them to the

:28:35. > :28:41.dressing rooms and get all the stuff ready. I am due to retire shortly

:28:42. > :28:49.but dreading the day I can't come down here. It will be hard not to be

:28:50. > :28:55.here every day. I just love it!
