:00:15. > :00:22.Coming up tonight, the Bees are going up - what next for

:00:23. > :00:26.Championship-bound Brentford? A big step was taken last week, now we

:00:27. > :00:30.have to cement our place and keep building, keep developing.

:00:31. > :00:35.And who's staying up? It's in their hands, but can Charlton hold their

:00:36. > :00:37.nerve? Two Lions head to their former

:00:38. > :00:42.hunting ground on the prowl for Millwall points. And a day of

:00:43. > :00:45.destiny at Adams Park, as Wycombe's Football League future hangs in the

:00:46. > :00:49.balance. Hello, everybody, welcome to Late

:00:50. > :00:52.Kick Off. In case you haven't quite worked it out for yourself, I'm Mark

:00:53. > :00:56.Clemmit and not Jacqui Oatley, who is on maternity leave for the final

:00:57. > :00:59.couple of weeks of the season. Our congratulations to her and the

:01:00. > :01:02.family on the birth of baby boy Max. And talking of new arrivals,

:01:03. > :01:04.Brentford are now a Championship team, so joining Brighty and myself,

:01:05. > :01:07.midfielder Sam Saunders, who just over a week ago, with his

:01:08. > :01:10.team-mates, was finally able to celebrate promotion on what was a

:01:11. > :01:18.very good Good Friday at Griffin Park.

:01:19. > :01:29.There was Jamie and Sam, and we knew a goal went in. It just erupted, and

:01:30. > :01:33.I think that's the moment that will live with me for a long time. We are

:01:34. > :01:36.going up, say we are going up! The level of excitement was fantastic,

:01:37. > :01:42.the players could feel it, and that for me was a real hair on the back

:01:43. > :01:50.of the neck moment. Yeah, I don't remember that much, it was all about

:01:51. > :01:54.everyone going crazy, to be fair. There's some real genuine supporters

:01:55. > :02:01.at this club, and to see them get that reward is fantastic. We've come

:02:02. > :02:07.so close, we've had play-offs, we've had final days scenarios where we

:02:08. > :02:12.could possibly go up. Oh, it was amazing. I mean, that was probably

:02:13. > :02:14.the best feeling I ever had. Everyone knows what happened, what

:02:15. > :02:17.possibly should have happened, and we can look back and actually smile

:02:18. > :02:22.about it now, because we've achieved what we were looking to do to. You

:02:23. > :02:25.know, I came back and tried to do my best, and at the end that definitely

:02:26. > :02:29.makes it more special. The owners spoke to me 18 months ago and set a

:02:30. > :02:32.five-year plan. He spoke about the Championship, he spoke about the new

:02:33. > :02:35.stadium. And he also spoke about the Premier League. We've got a good

:02:36. > :02:39.squad here, we'll add some quality to it as and when we need to, we'll

:02:40. > :02:42.be in good shape next year. Well, Sam, it must have been a bit

:02:43. > :02:46.bittersweet for you, because you were in the firm of your career, you

:02:47. > :02:49.know, player of the month in January, and then obviously you get

:02:50. > :02:53.injured and miss getting over the line. How was your promotion day? It

:02:54. > :02:56.was brilliant. I was supposed to be in the squad but then had to pull

:02:57. > :02:59.out through a little strain. So at the start of it I was devastated,

:03:00. > :03:03.obviously, having the operation, thinking I wanted to be involved.

:03:04. > :03:07.But then at the end of it I was on the bins, running around, forgot all

:03:08. > :03:09.about it, so it was a fantastic day and something I'll never forget. The

:03:10. > :03:12.boys working so hard, particularly after what happened last year,

:03:13. > :03:16.everyone is just delighted. Well, I wanted to ask you about that. Did

:03:17. > :03:19.the high of getting over the line this time in any way compensate for

:03:20. > :03:22.the low of what happened to you without penalty miss and then

:03:23. > :03:25.missing out at Wembley last year? I was looking round the changing room

:03:26. > :03:32.come February, I was looking round, and everyone hurt so much from last

:03:33. > :03:35.season. I just thought, we're not going to let this one go, and

:03:36. > :03:38.particularly that result at Orient, turning them over 1-0 with ten men.

:03:39. > :03:42.After that, I thought, yeah, we're going to go up. Yeah, I mean, we

:03:43. > :03:45.heard Mark Warburton talk about the Premier League there, the owner's

:03:46. > :03:51.ambitions for the Premier League. Is that realistic? I think you've got

:03:52. > :03:54.to have a vision, haven't you? I think Fulham had a vision some years

:03:55. > :03:58.ago, and everyone laughed at Mohamed Al Fayed, he wanted to be the Man

:03:59. > :04:02.United of the South. But you have to have a vision, and obviously part of

:04:03. > :04:05.that vision is getting into the Championship. The new stadium is

:04:06. > :04:09.about to come, and then you have to say, can you build on what you have?

:04:10. > :04:12.And you have to say that, I think in football, the neutrals, everybody's

:04:13. > :04:15.happy for Brentford, because of what happened at the end of last season.

:04:16. > :04:19.Yeah, I mean, from your own point of view, Sam, eight, nine years ago,

:04:20. > :04:22.you're working as a sparky on London Underground. Now look, you know,

:04:23. > :04:26.you're at a club... I'm sitting here with Brighty, aren't I?! Totally

:04:27. > :04:29.different, this is what I wanted. Are you pinching yourself a little

:04:30. > :04:34.bit? You could be playing Fulham next year if QPR don't make it. It's

:04:35. > :04:38.unbelievable. When John come in for me and I was in non-league, and if

:04:39. > :04:41.you'd have asked me if I would play championship football, I would have

:04:42. > :04:44.absolutely bit your arm off. So as a personal note, I'm delighted to get

:04:45. > :04:47.that opportunity next season. But it's a collective thing, and the

:04:48. > :04:50.boys have been so good. Obviously, I haven't kicked a ball since January,

:04:51. > :04:53.so I wouldn't be getting this opportunity of it wasn't for them.

:04:54. > :04:56.So they've got to take massive credit. Do you know what I always

:04:57. > :05:00.want to ask players that have just been promoted? Do you in any way

:05:01. > :05:03.fear promotion insomuch as you know some of the squad will not make the

:05:04. > :05:07.next level? Is that an unfair question? It is a tough one, because

:05:08. > :05:10.at a club like Brentford, and how they've been the last few years,

:05:11. > :05:13.it's one of them that if you don't progress with the club and move

:05:14. > :05:16.forwards, you're going to get left behind. And it's a winning mentality

:05:17. > :05:20.they have at the club, and you've just got to know, as an older pro,

:05:21. > :05:23.you got to do your bits, do your extras if you want to keep

:05:24. > :05:26.continuing with this club, because it's a club that's moving forward.

:05:27. > :05:30.And the young lads are pushing, the older pros are helping, and it's

:05:31. > :05:33.just a great mix we've got at the minute. I'm enjoying that pressure

:05:34. > :05:36.of having to perform every week, and every year come back that little bit

:05:37. > :05:38.stronger, because you know that you've got to impress and do well to

:05:39. > :05:41.get your shirt. Enjoy every second, it's been a

:05:42. > :05:45.fantastic season, but I'm afraid, after all that celebrating, the rest

:05:46. > :05:48.of the programme is a slow descent into despair as we concentrate on

:05:49. > :05:51.three teams battling the drop. First up, Millwall - on Saturday, the

:05:52. > :05:59.Lions were on South Africa Road, the natural habitat for two of them.

:06:00. > :06:04.Here at QPR, those who once proudly pulled on the blue and white hoops

:06:05. > :06:12.are now pulling Millwall back from the brink.

:06:13. > :06:18.You good? Yeah, I'm all right, and you? I am! Welcome home-ish! Yeah,

:06:19. > :06:22.sort of! It is weird for you, isn't it, you and Ollie today? 15 years

:06:23. > :06:25.the pair of you put in here. Yeah, I know, I know, it's not been as

:06:26. > :06:30.difficult, because as I said, first time I've ever wanted QPR to lose

:06:31. > :06:33.today. Yeah, it should be good. I'm glad they've got really nothing to

:06:34. > :06:39.play for, cos that made it a little bit difficult. It's nice to be back

:06:40. > :06:43.and come to a place full of memories for me, ten years, five as a player,

:06:44. > :06:45.five as a manager. And it's great to see them growing. Where would

:06:46. > :06:50.keeping Millwall in this division fit into the hierarchy of what

:06:51. > :06:54.you've achieved in the game? As good as any of that, I believe. I think

:06:55. > :06:59.it was really tough, really difficult situation, and a squad

:07:00. > :07:01.that really didn't have any fight. And for Millwall, that's just not

:07:02. > :07:08.acceptable, but now I can honestly say that these lots don't give up.

:07:09. > :07:16.They've got rubbish coaches here like Ollie! And rubbish players like

:07:17. > :07:20.Armand. Yeah, so hopefully we've got our game plan, we've been doing well

:07:21. > :07:25.away from home, as you know, and we're trying to carry on.

:07:26. > :07:28.If Millwall win and Blackpool lose, their incredible escape act will be

:07:29. > :07:38.complete. Anything less, and they'll be sweating it out a little longer.

:07:39. > :07:43.Right-hand side of the penalty area, Dixon across... Oh, Ravel Morrison

:07:44. > :07:48.with the header and David Forde with the save.

:07:49. > :07:55.Smith's scored! And a score coming in which is going to send shivers

:07:56. > :08:03.down spines. Wigan zero, Blackpool one.

:08:04. > :08:10.It's a penalty! Simeon Jackson for use of the hand, and the referee

:08:11. > :08:19.points straight at the spot. Here comes Austin and drives it into the

:08:20. > :08:22.back of the net! It's picked up by Malone inside the area, shot from

:08:23. > :08:25.Malone, it's there from Scott Malone! It's Queens Park Rangers 1,

:08:26. > :08:34.Millwall 1, how important could that be?!

:08:35. > :08:46.Gaffer not happy. Yes and no, happy that we got one in the last couple

:08:47. > :08:48.of minutes, but not happy that we didn't win and not happy about the

:08:49. > :08:52.penalty, really. Well, clearly, you've got a lot of happy memories

:08:53. > :08:55.of this place but not necessarily this afternoon. I will have, Clem,

:08:56. > :08:59.to be fair. I think to go behind in the fashion we did, it really hurts,

:09:00. > :09:01.to be honest. I just think that's ridiculously harsh. You know, we

:09:02. > :09:05.showed tremendous character to come back, so I feel everybody connected

:09:06. > :09:07.with the club should be very proud of themselves today.

:09:08. > :09:10.Well, Brighty, I think when he went into Millwall, we all thought, he's

:09:11. > :09:13.taken Palace into the Premier League, why would you? But I tell

:09:14. > :09:25.you what, he's proved his worth, the last six or seven games, hasn't he?

:09:26. > :09:30.They got themselves out of the relegation zone. He will get the

:09:31. > :09:35.team focused, and I would have to refer to Crystal Palace, when he got

:09:36. > :09:39.promotion, three games, Brighton home and away, Watford in the

:09:40. > :09:43.final, the team absolutely focused because of his intensity on the

:09:44. > :09:47.training ground. This last week now, they couldn't have anyone better on

:09:48. > :09:52.the training ground to get them motivated and looking forward to

:09:53. > :09:57.that last game. It is very noticeable, I sat quite near to some

:09:58. > :10:02.of the unused box, at the team spirit and the banter, with the

:10:03. > :10:06.players on the pitching a really serious game. You can't take that

:10:07. > :10:12.dynamic for granted, that comes from the. The team spirit is massive,

:10:13. > :10:21.they are enabling the Asian scrap, so to have that bit of banter, it

:10:22. > :10:25.could be a good thing for them. -- they are in a relegation scrap. He

:10:26. > :10:30.is transmitting something that makes you stay on. Ian Holloway has always

:10:31. > :10:37.had that relationship with his players, it seems to be rubbing

:10:38. > :10:42.off. It has obviously worked. Say to the players, you have beaten

:10:43. > :10:47.Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Wigan, teams going for promotion. It

:10:48. > :10:52.is everything or nothing now, and he has got them in a position where

:10:53. > :10:56.they will get out of it. A really exceptional manager can get that

:10:57. > :10:59.kind of team spirit. He is so different in the changing room and

:11:00. > :11:04.on the training ground, doing the dancing elephant with the players.

:11:05. > :11:11.When he's focused, the team will be focused, and the team will be

:11:12. > :11:16.focused at the end of the week. Millwall do not have a monopoly on

:11:17. > :11:21.south-east London relegation worries. Charlton have been in or

:11:22. > :11:23.around the drop zone for most of the season. On Saturday they hosted

:11:24. > :11:27.play-off seeking Blackburn, we sent Chris Slegg on a scenic route to the

:11:28. > :11:29.Valley to take a view of proceedings.

:11:30. > :11:32.Now, it would be easy to use a cable car ride looking out towards the

:11:33. > :11:35.Valley as a metaphor for Charlton's current plight. Championship status

:11:36. > :11:38.hanging by a Fred et cetera. But we wouldn't do that. This season,

:11:39. > :11:41.though, has been an interesting journey. Well, it hasn't been great,

:11:42. > :11:44.has it? Painful, in one word painful. Obviously the new manager

:11:45. > :11:48.has come in and changed things around, and we've got the points on

:11:49. > :11:52.the board to prove it. What will you say to your players before they go

:11:53. > :11:55.out onto the pitch? I think that we have learned a lot during the

:11:56. > :11:59.previous game. The last one is a good example of what we don't have

:12:00. > :12:04.to do during the first 20 minutes and what we have to do is take from

:12:05. > :12:07.this experience. The Championship is so tight - lose to Blackburn, and

:12:08. > :12:13.Charlton could be in the bottom three can take time. Win and they

:12:14. > :12:17.will be safe if results go their way elsewhere.

:12:18. > :12:21.King with the ball into the area, and it is in from the head of Rudy

:12:22. > :12:30.Gestede! Cousins to Sordell inside the

:12:31. > :12:32.penalty area. Marvin Sordell with this spot kick. Sordell comes up and

:12:33. > :12:39.the save is made by Paul Robinson! Key got the touch to take it past

:12:40. > :12:58.Ben Hamer. A goal back for Charlton. Sordell

:12:59. > :13:03.goes for the shot. There could be another opportunity for Blackburn. A

:13:04. > :13:20.final clearance. Cairney comes in. Should jackson have taken that

:13:21. > :13:25.penalty? It's normally him. That's what I say to the staff. At this

:13:26. > :13:29.moment we can not stop a player when he ask to take his responsibilities,

:13:30. > :13:32.it's part of the game. Have you said to the players after that Johnny

:13:33. > :13:37.should have taken that penalty? You know, it's something Marvin knows

:13:38. > :13:41.well what he missed. It's some lesson for the future. But we need

:13:42. > :13:47.to be efficient in the present, that's the main thing. If that

:13:48. > :13:50.penalty had gone in it would have been 1-1. Who knows Charlton might

:13:51. > :13:55.have gone on to win and be safe. Why don't you obey a manager's orders

:13:56. > :14:03.out there? On the pitch players don't think like that. He scored a

:14:04. > :14:06.hat trick bank holiday Monday. He is on a high. Sometimes players don't

:14:07. > :14:13.want to fight for the ball on the pitch. Let the goal-scorer take it,

:14:14. > :14:16.he misses. We saw with Brentford what happened. He says I want to

:14:17. > :14:20.take it, give it to me. Players don't always follow manager's

:14:21. > :14:25.instructions. They didn't defend well enough Charlton on that day. It

:14:26. > :14:31.didn't have the same sort of consequences but you did experience

:14:32. > :14:35.this last season with that penalty, that Trotter penalty and the

:14:36. > :14:44.consequences out of there. Take us through that. You are a - you could

:14:45. > :14:52.have taken it that day. He wasn't happy with myself. He was on form. I

:14:53. > :15:00.thought he would score. You were happy for him and Kevin was? He was

:15:01. > :15:04.the man decided he thought he should take it, it was a bad move.

:15:05. > :15:07.Hopefully for Charlton they don't get the same problems we have had by

:15:08. > :15:11.not going up last season. Hopefully they get the result on Tuesday,

:15:12. > :15:15.they'll be safe. It's one of them that happens. From now on it will

:15:16. > :15:18.never happen at our club, we have about five list of players who are

:15:19. > :15:22.down to take the penalty if he is not on, someone else is taking them.

:15:23. > :15:26.There will never than mistake again. It's one of them things we have

:15:27. > :15:31.learned from. It's gone now. Thank God that we got promoted and turned

:15:32. > :15:34.it around. And probably benefitted from the experience. Let's look at

:15:35. > :15:40.the bottom of the Championship table.

:15:41. > :15:45.Both these two in our region were in real trouble a short space of time

:15:46. > :15:49.ago. Both have surged up. Full credit to both. With Charlton we

:15:50. > :15:53.knew they had the games in hand because of the Cup run they had been

:15:54. > :15:56.on and some games rained off or whatever. We knew they could have

:15:57. > :16:00.pulled themselves out of it. This is what they've done, got themselves to

:16:01. > :16:05.this position here. You would have to say with one game to go, we

:16:06. > :16:09.always say the same thing, destiny in your own hands, that's what they

:16:10. > :16:13.have. Let's look at the fixtures coming up. Charlton have that extra

:16:14. > :16:20.game tomorrow at home to Watford. How are you seeing it, Sam? I think

:16:21. > :16:23.they'll be OK. I think Birmingham against Wigan, Wigan are pressing

:16:24. > :16:33.for the play-offs, as well. Can't see them getting much there. Away to

:16:34. > :16:39.Bolton is not easy. I think they're going to be OK. It's in their hands.

:16:40. > :16:43.If they get the result on Saturday, regardless of what everyone else

:16:44. > :16:46.does, but with the fixtures looking there, I am happy with what I see

:16:47. > :16:48.for the London clubs. I think they'll be all right. Good. I am

:16:49. > :16:57.glad about that. We did warn you that the mood would

:16:58. > :17:00.be darkening throughout the show. It doesn't get much gloomier than at

:17:01. > :17:03.Adams Park right now. Wycombe took on their relegation rivals Bristol

:17:04. > :17:05.Rovers on Saturday, knowing defeat could send them into the bottom two

:17:06. > :17:15.with just one game to play. What's emotional about today is I am

:17:16. > :17:29.thinking this could be the last league game at Adams Park. We know

:17:30. > :17:32.what we have to do. Yeah, we are... Definitely the biggest football

:17:33. > :17:35.league game they've had. It's not just a football thing, it's about

:17:36. > :17:38.the business side, as well. The people who want to buy the club,

:17:39. > :17:42.they'd rather own a football league club if that's going to happen at

:17:43. > :17:44.all. It's a huge game on and off the pitch for Wycombe and the fans are

:17:45. > :18:04.very tense and nervous about this. It's a goal. It's a terrible start

:18:05. > :18:17.for Wycombe. What a goal! What a fantastic goal!

:18:18. > :18:19.There is the half-time whistle. 1-1. Mc Clure. It's across the face of

:18:20. > :18:34.goal! It's a chance here for Rovers!

:18:35. > :18:38.They've taken it. It's Clarkson who scores and how vital a goal is that

:18:39. > :18:45.going to be. Wycombe go 2-1 down. As it stands, they are in a relegation

:18:46. > :18:53.position. Wycombe have been beaten this afternoon. It may well be that

:18:54. > :18:57.it's Rovers who are staying up. There's obviously some disgruntled

:18:58. > :19:01.fans. That's football, that's what happens. They've every right to do

:19:02. > :19:04.that. Hopefully I can still give them something next week to cheer

:19:05. > :19:12.about. They're gutted. Really devastated. I have said look, we

:19:13. > :19:14.have one more mammoth task. Beat Torquay next week and hopefully

:19:15. > :19:22.somebody does us a favour. Desperate times then for Wycombe

:19:23. > :19:25.whose 21-year stay in the Football League is now hanging precariously

:19:26. > :19:28.in the balance. Their pain deepened when they heard how Northampton had

:19:29. > :19:31.got on at Victoria Road. Dagenham Redbridge not doing Wycombe any

:19:32. > :19:35.favours at all. Northampton started the day in the bottom two, but ran

:19:36. > :19:38.out 3-0 winners in East London. As far as the Daggers were concerned,

:19:39. > :19:43.their faint play-off hopes had already evaporated over Easter. They

:19:44. > :19:46.failed to muster any real resistance as Northampton cruised to a

:19:47. > :19:49.comfortable win to move themselves above Gareth Ainsworth's team.

:19:50. > :19:57.Which means that Wycombe have to win on the final day and hope for a

:19:58. > :19:59.favour from elsewhere. They need to pick up maximum points at

:20:00. > :20:02.already-relegated Torquay and also hope either Bristol Rovers lose at

:20:03. > :20:08.home to Mansfield or Northampton are beaten at home by Oxford.

:20:09. > :20:13.That is a tall order. Yeah, absolutely. We looked at the run-in

:20:14. > :20:17.for Wycombe and I feared it for a little bit for them. But the saving

:20:18. > :20:20.grace for me was they had two teams below them, Bristol Rovers and

:20:21. > :20:24.Torquay and the team above them Northampton to play. You think there

:20:25. > :20:28.is your mini league, you have to beat those teams. Obviously losing

:20:29. > :20:32.at Bristol was a huge blow for them. They've dropped to the bottom two.

:20:33. > :20:37.And now I really don't see them getting out of it. Are they paying

:20:38. > :20:40.the price for doing what we would like all our football clubs to do,

:20:41. > :20:45.which is living within their means? They haven't spent any money, they

:20:46. > :20:49.don't have because they don't have a rich benefactor. A few weeks ago we

:20:50. > :20:53.covered the club could be taken over, debt-free and the underground,

:20:54. > :20:57.the supporters trust owned the ground and what a great situation

:20:58. > :21:02.for someone to invest and give the manager money to try and improve the

:21:03. > :21:05.squad. Gareth has had a really tough job. We say this all the time. His

:21:06. > :21:09.baunl is one of the smallest -- budget is one of the smallest

:21:10. > :21:12.budgets in the league. Losing 11 games at home, more than anyone else

:21:13. > :21:17.in the league, you know, it's been a huge blow for them and not scoring

:21:18. > :21:19.enough goals easily. You know all about the conference and 14 former

:21:20. > :21:23.football league teams in the conference this year alone. No

:21:24. > :21:31.guarantees you come straight back out of there. It's a tough league.

:21:32. > :21:36.You see with Luton. John's worked wonders to get them up this year.

:21:37. > :21:45.Bigger clubs have gone down. They've been there five years. Alter shot

:21:46. > :21:50.and Hereford went down. It's going to be tough if they go down. Looking

:21:51. > :21:56.at the fixtures and points they're behind it's a tall order.

:21:57. > :22:00.Listen, smile! Right, some good news now, in that two of our teams did

:22:01. > :22:02.actually manage to win at the weekend. Here's Emma Jones and Jamie

:22:03. > :22:05.Reid with the round-up, that includes those victories for

:22:06. > :22:08.Brighton and Orient. Sam you might want to skip this bit and go and get

:22:09. > :22:10.yourself a cuppa. There's also Brentford's heavy defeat at

:22:11. > :22:22.Colchester tucked away in here. The play-offs are still a real

:22:23. > :22:27.possibility for Brighton after this late win. A 77th minute cross

:22:28. > :22:33.bounced in and the victory that would also see Yeovil relegated was

:22:34. > :22:37.confirmed with this from Lingcard in the second minute of stoppage time.

:22:38. > :22:43.Victory at For he is on Saturday and Brighton will be in the top six if

:22:44. > :22:46.Reading fail to beat Burnley. Watford went in to their game at

:22:47. > :22:50.Derby knowing they had to win to stand any chance of joining their

:22:51. > :23:04.opponents in the play-offs. They got off to a good start. The Rams

:23:05. > :23:10.levelled. Despite having a player sent off Father a second I do le

:23:11. > :23:17.Watford made it 2-2 thanks to a header. Chris Martin completed the

:23:18. > :23:26.scoring as Watford suffered their 8th away defeat of the season.

:23:27. > :23:34.This would be Orient's last home game before the play-offs and it was

:23:35. > :23:39.a comfortable victory. They had the lead before half-time. Then there

:23:40. > :23:44.was the most of a poor clearance from the visiting keeper to shoot

:23:45. > :23:47.into an empty net. A win and first clean sheet in nine games. We will

:23:48. > :23:54.have to wait until next week to find out what their play-offs semifinal

:23:55. > :23:57.opponents will be. John Gregory says his team will be

:23:58. > :24:05.working on defending set pieces in the summer after losing to a late

:24:06. > :24:09.goal at valley Parade. Bradford led through McClean before Crawley

:24:10. > :24:14.equalised. Thompson headed home the winner with four minutes to go to

:24:15. > :24:21.condemn Crawley to their 6th away defeat in the last seven.

:24:22. > :24:25.Gillingham boss Peter Taylor had said he only deserved to stay on if

:24:26. > :24:30.he kept the club up. Other results ensured he managed that on Saturday

:24:31. > :24:36.despite defeat at Preston. The hosts took an early lead through John

:24:37. > :24:40.Welsh but the Gills drew level. However, a Preston side preparing

:24:41. > :24:46.for the play-offs weren't going to be denied a win. Paul Gallagher put

:24:47. > :24:51.them ahead again before Kilkenny condemned Gills to a fourth defeat

:24:52. > :24:57.in six. A promotion party hangover saw

:24:58. > :24:59.Brentford thumped 4-1 with a performance manager described as

:25:00. > :25:14.unacceptable. The The impressive Dallas pulled one

:25:15. > :25:20.back in style for Brentford. Seers rounded off the scoring before the

:25:21. > :25:27.visitors misery was compounded when Judge's penalty was saved.

:25:28. > :25:32.Wimbledon signed off their home campaign on a low note. Morecambe

:25:33. > :25:40.were 2-0 up with a couple of goals before half-time. Goal number three

:25:41. > :25:44.came late on from the spot. The home fans hadn't been given much to shout

:25:45. > :25:50.about this campaign. Something he is promising to put right next season.

:25:51. > :26:00.Not a brilliant 48 hours for Wimbledon. Deducted three points for

:26:01. > :26:04.fielding an ineligible player against Cheltenham in March. Is it

:26:05. > :26:09.one rule for the big clubs and the small ones? Sunderland get away with

:26:10. > :26:14.it? With the Sunderland case it was their own player who had been out on

:26:15. > :26:19.loan abroad. And he had come back. Sunderland didn't reregister him. It

:26:20. > :26:22.wasn't like he was someone who shouldn't have been playing for the

:26:23. > :26:26.club. He was their own player. In Sunderland's sort of defence, you

:26:27. > :26:29.know... I know what you are saying. It always seems that way. It seems

:26:30. > :26:36.the big clubs have funds to make legal challenges. From 14th to 18th.

:26:37. > :26:40.Still had an excellent season. The Daggers, as well, praise to them.

:26:41. > :26:44.They've had good seasons this season. Hopefully they can build on

:26:45. > :26:48.that next. Now, young man, what went on with your team at the weekend?

:26:49. > :26:54.What's going on? Is it difficult when you have got over the line not

:26:55. > :26:58.to take that into the next game 2-0 up and doing really well. I watched

:26:59. > :27:02.the game there and we dominated and conceded two late goals. On Saturday

:27:03. > :27:09.I wasn't there. I heard... Is that your own get out of jail? The lads

:27:10. > :27:13.have said they didn't perform. The gaffer wasn't happy and on Saturday

:27:14. > :27:18.they'll be looking to put that right. I guess the gaffer has to

:27:19. > :27:21.issue a straightener like he did. He singled out one or two players and

:27:22. > :27:26.said the rest were rubbish. You have to do that, you have to keep

:27:27. > :27:31.everybody in very much in the place. There was a winning mentality at the

:27:32. > :27:35.club. To go there and lose 4-1, I know coal chest her a lot to play --

:27:36. > :27:40.Colchester had a lot to play for. Credit to them performing. It was

:27:41. > :27:45.sloppy goals, as well, set-plays and penalties and stuff. Stevenage at

:27:46. > :27:51.home Saturday we look to put it right. Are you glad you took the

:27:52. > :27:56.risk years ago, gave up that well-paid job on London Underground?

:27:57. > :27:59.As soon as I got asked do I want to be a footballer, I will take it

:28:00. > :28:04.every day of the week to follow your dream and that. To be doing it now

:28:05. > :28:10.and playing and it's all come true, sitting next to Brighty. Really good

:28:11. > :28:14.to have you in with us. Good to see you too.

:28:15. > :28:18.One week to go. Plenty to play for, good luck to Brighton in their push

:28:19. > :28:21.for the play-offs. And when it comes to the relegation stakes, by the

:28:22. > :28:23.time you join us next week, we'll know the fate of these three teams.

:28:24. > :28:39.Goodnight.
