:00:08. > :00:18.Kiddies thing. Tonight, can Leicester City begin their rise up

:00:18. > :00:28.

:00:28. > :00:33.Coming up, the best moments from tonight's Championship game as

:00:33. > :00:37.Leicester tried to close the gap on the leading pack. Our protest like

:00:37. > :00:42.this threatening the future of Port Vale? And one Goldie and his dog.

:00:42. > :00:49.We meet a future England goalkeeper and his friend. You can leave him

:00:49. > :00:54.for two minutes or 10 minutes or all-day. And he will act as if he

:00:54. > :00:59.hasn't seen you for three weeks! am joined by two men with a wealth

:00:59. > :01:06.of coaching and man did -- managing experience. Derek Fazackerley

:01:06. > :01:09.started the season as coach at Leicester. Billy Davies is a man

:01:09. > :01:15.steeped in the East Midlands football. He played for Leicester

:01:15. > :01:21.and managed Derby County and Nottingham Forest. Great to see you.

:01:21. > :01:27.Where is my blue jumper?! A blue shirt will have to do! First took

:01:27. > :01:34.some Mary's, where Nigel Pearson's Leicester played Southampton. He

:01:34. > :01:41.named and unchanged team, but Danny Drinkwater and Nathan Delfouneso

:01:41. > :01:51.were on the subs bench. Welcome to St Mary's for the fixture between

:01:51. > :02:22.

:02:22. > :02:30.Germaine back -- Jermaine might just silence the Southampton

:02:30. > :02:40.fans to have been during the X Pompey player all night. -- the

:02:40. > :02:46.

:02:46. > :02:50.Southampton looking to get back to the top of the table, and they will

:02:50. > :03:00.have to come from behind to do so. Nigel Pearson will be impressed at

:03:00. > :03:07.

:03:07. > :03:17.players, and he also -- almost sneaked into the same corner he

:03:17. > :03:27.

:03:27. > :03:31.was the marking? Leicester City go to nail macro up. -- 2-0 up. He

:03:31. > :03:41.adds to the misery on the south coast. It is Southampton Knill,

:03:41. > :04:03.

:04:03. > :04:13.Leicester City two! -- Southampton tonight, and he has specialised in

:04:13. > :04:17.

:04:17. > :04:27.One or two Southampton fans were appealing that it had crossed the

:04:27. > :04:52.

:04:52. > :04:56.introduction that would have been on his weaker right side. They are

:04:56. > :05:02.used to seeing goals by the BAFTA mode, and they are heading for the

:05:02. > :05:07.exit. It is all over. Southampton missed the chance to return to the

:05:07. > :05:13.top of the table. Leicester climbed to 13th, but now they are only five

:05:13. > :05:21.points of the play-offs, and good looking -- looking good for a late

:05:21. > :05:28.surge. That lists them to within five points of sixth-placed

:05:28. > :05:31.Birmingham. That was a combination Birmingham. That was a combination

:05:31. > :05:37.of the players that you and Sven Goran Eriksson brought together.

:05:37. > :05:44.They did well tonight. There were key moments in the game, and

:05:44. > :05:52.Southampton had a chance just before Leicester scored, and there

:05:52. > :05:57.was a good win for them there. They are in the frame for a play-off

:05:57. > :06:02.place. Billy, you saw them play Nottingham Forest last month. Maybe

:06:02. > :06:06.that is a sign that they are clicking finally? Very much so.

:06:06. > :06:10.Their confidence is beginning to grow. They have some very good

:06:10. > :06:17.players, Leicester City. They have a good squad, and you would expect

:06:17. > :06:22.them to be there or thereabouts. think Matt Mills' Leicester City

:06:22. > :06:27.career has not taken off. We saw one of his better performances.

:06:27. > :06:31.is a quality player, no doubt about that. He did take a little time to

:06:31. > :06:35.settle down, maybe it was the transfer fee or something. Can that

:06:35. > :06:40.get to that a player? It can affect players in different ways. You

:06:40. > :06:47.would have to ask Matt, but after tonight's performance, he looks

:06:47. > :06:52.back to his best. Let us talk about your time at Leicester. Do you feel

:06:52. > :06:56.slightly harshly treated? We knew that we have to hit the ground

:06:56. > :07:00.running. There is no doubt about that, given the budget that we had,

:07:00. > :07:06.and the players that we had brought in. There was this huge amount of

:07:06. > :07:11.expectation, and obviously, we got away to a good start at Coventry,

:07:11. > :07:17.but then we sit up in two home games. But I thought we had

:07:17. > :07:24.recovered. -- we slipped up in two home games. Unfortunately, we had

:07:24. > :07:28.another couple of poor results, and ultimately, that cost us is in jobs.

:07:28. > :07:33.Many get your views on Leicester this season. Can you see them being

:07:33. > :07:38.in the mix at the end? Certainly, yes. You just have to look at the

:07:38. > :07:44.division over the last two years. You can look at teams like

:07:44. > :07:50.Blackpool, Burnley and Reading. It is certainly within their reach,

:07:50. > :07:54.and particularly after tonight's game, it is a tremendous boost for

:07:54. > :07:59.everyone. It will give them hope going into the next home game that

:07:59. > :08:06.they can get three more points, and that will push them further forward.

:08:06. > :08:11.Still to come, the rest of the weekend's goals, and the season's

:08:11. > :08:21.most bizarre hat-trick so far. Take a bow, Michael Duberry. Thank you

:08:21. > :08:22.

:08:22. > :08:28.for your response to our features last week, and we have invited the

:08:28. > :08:33.owners of Coventry City to speak to us, and we hope that they will be

:08:34. > :08:43.giving their viewpoint at some point during bases its -- series.

:08:44. > :08:48.

:08:48. > :08:58.We are available on Facebook and If you support Port Vale, you will

:08:58. > :09:02.know about the confusion that reigns at Vale Park. Late kick-off

:09:02. > :09:12.but -- Late Kick Off were told that investment was going in, but that

:09:12. > :09:18.

:09:18. > :09:25.It has become a familiar scene at Port Vale. Fans protesting about a

:09:25. > :09:31.lack of investment and broken promises. Do the honourable thing

:09:31. > :09:37.and step down! Vote of no confidence! The club is 4 million

:09:37. > :09:42.in debt, and fans say they are at their wits end. So many homes which

:09:42. > :09:46.are not materialising. It is hard for people to concentrate on the

:09:46. > :09:52.pitch, because of this drama that is going on in the background.

:09:52. > :09:56.is a rudderless club. It has no focus, no funding there, and there

:09:56. > :10:04.is nothing to drive it on. That is so upsetting to see. Last week, we

:10:04. > :10:07.were told that there may be positive news. We were told about

:10:07. > :10:11.possible new investment. But the board say they can't talk to me

:10:11. > :10:16.because of legal reasons. But all but came was a club statement,

:10:16. > :10:21.claiming that the protest by the supporters there was -- was

:10:21. > :10:26.seriously damaging the club's income. It hope to announce

:10:26. > :10:31.positive news in the near future. The promise of investments is

:10:31. > :10:39.nothing new. I spoke to one of the director's last August and he

:10:39. > :10:45.suggested change would happen. Change does not happen overnight. I

:10:45. > :10:53.hope in a short space of time, we can get some investment. Fans''

:10:53. > :10:58.frustration is directed at two men, Perry Deakin and Peter Millar. They

:10:58. > :11:05.were supposed to be behind 8 million of investment that never

:11:05. > :11:15.materialised. This letter suggests that there was a salary of 100,000

:11:15. > :11:20.

:11:20. > :11:25.for an unpaid role. We have never had a paid chairman in the history

:11:25. > :11:31.of the club. We have not had a chief executive pay that kind of

:11:31. > :11:36.money. It is not a bottomless pit. The boardroom saga has been hitting

:11:36. > :11:41.the headlines for just over two seasons now. The editor of the

:11:41. > :11:45.local paper says that any talk of new investment take a lot to

:11:45. > :11:49.convince the new fans. investment that then -- this

:11:49. > :11:53.current board brings in will be laughed at by the supporters,

:11:53. > :11:59.because unless it is 4 million, and they see it in a briefcase,

:11:59. > :12:04.play will not believe a word these guys say, and anything less than 4

:12:04. > :12:11.million will be a sticking plaster to a gaping wound. On the pitch,

:12:11. > :12:15.though, Saturday's win at Rotherham was the boost the club needed. Marc

:12:15. > :12:19.Richards stepped up to take the penalty and get the three points.

:12:19. > :12:27.The squad are confident that they can push for a play-off position.

:12:27. > :12:31.There was a bit of doom and gloom around the club, but a win is a win.

:12:31. > :12:36.Everyone is fighting for contracts, so they want to do as well as they

:12:36. > :12:40.can. We need a massive win to get back on track. They also happen

:12:40. > :12:50.debt -- hoping for a win against Plymouth, but back of the field, in

:12:50. > :12:57.a recent poll of 2,500 Port Vale fans, 97 % of that fans want the

:12:57. > :13:01.directors to leave. That is despite any new investment, there is no

:13:01. > :13:09.transparency. They are waiting for the next chapter of events at Vale

:13:09. > :13:12.There is a Portsmouth supporters' Club meeting tomorrow night at

:13:12. > :13:21.Smallthorne Victory Club and the organisers are asking all

:13:21. > :13:26.supporters to attend. When there is such a divide between board and

:13:26. > :13:30.fans, is it hard to separate yourself from that? It is very

:13:30. > :13:33.important that the manager, staff and players will continue to be as

:13:33. > :13:40.professional as they can. That is all they can do in circumstances

:13:40. > :13:45.like that. You can also use it as a tool to try and motivate, them

:13:45. > :13:49.against us situation. Do you employ that siege mentality? I think you

:13:49. > :13:54.have to in those circumstances. You have to continue to do your job as

:13:54. > :13:59.best as you possibly can. sympathise with the fans? There is

:13:59. > :14:05.no doubt about it. They are the people that by the season-ticket

:14:05. > :14:09.and keep the club going. Season- ticket sales at that level will

:14:09. > :14:14.certainly out strip any television money or corporate hospitality, so

:14:14. > :14:17.they are the lifeblood of the football club and the desire to be

:14:17. > :14:21.treated better than that. You have to feel for Micky Adams, because

:14:21. > :14:26.his hands are clearly tied in the transfer window. They're still

:14:26. > :14:30.doing remarkably well, only four points of the play-offs. The it is

:14:30. > :14:35.tremendous for the players and staff and everybody else. You feel

:14:35. > :14:39.for the fans. They do not know what is going on. I am sure that Micky

:14:39. > :14:43.Adams will be using this to the players and the staff, to continue

:14:43. > :14:47.to do their jobs and to get the success that they can and continue

:14:47. > :14:51.winning football matches. They have Micky Adams, who has a vast amount

:14:51. > :14:57.of experience in football and probably has been through this sort

:14:57. > :15:00.of situation before and knows how to treat it. From League Two to the

:15:00. > :15:07.Championship. It was an encouraging weekend for

:15:07. > :15:10.three other clubs. Birmingham and Coventry 1. There was more

:15:10. > :15:20.disappointment for Nottingham Forest, despite what Steve Coppell

:15:20. > :15:53.

:15:53. > :15:58.described as a much improved It is a goal for Forest. Any goal

:15:58. > :16:00.for Forest is welcome at the moment. Coventry City are now only two

:16:00. > :16:10.points behind Nottingham Forest after a welcome victory over

:16:10. > :16:28.

:16:28. > :16:35.Matthew Bates put through his own goal. Although Middlesbrough have

:16:35. > :16:41.managed a consolation, this was Coventry's day. Birmingham moved

:16:41. > :16:49.into the top six after a convincing 3-0 victory over Watford. Curtis

:16:49. > :16:55.Davies scored twice before Chris Burke completed the scoring. Later

:16:55. > :17:02.on in that programme, we will be a meeting the Derby manager. -- the

:17:02. > :17:11.Derby manager -- the Derby goalkeeper. He kept his third

:17:11. > :17:18.Jean Beausejour is in Wigan tonight for talks after both those clubs

:17:18. > :17:23.agreed a fee. For Nottingham Forest, Billy, it is their 9th defeat in

:17:23. > :17:29.their last 11. When you left the club, they were in the play-offs.

:17:29. > :17:35.They are now in the bottom three. What you make about what has gone

:17:35. > :17:39.on? I am sad, and I say that sincerely. I have tremendous

:17:39. > :17:42.respect for the players. The fans will always be in my heart, because

:17:42. > :17:48.they were first class to me when I was there. I am sad to see what is

:17:48. > :17:51.taking place. You are not shy in telling people about the lack of

:17:51. > :17:58.transfer activity. We surprise that Steve McLaren was given so much

:17:58. > :18:04.leeway to spend? It was very difficult. We all have a different

:18:04. > :18:10.remit. My remit was Clear, and that was, or over the three years, to

:18:10. > :18:14.get my club -- to get the club promoted. If you're working to that

:18:14. > :18:20.remit, you can only advise, as I have said before, on how to get

:18:20. > :18:24.over the line, when, at important times of the season, to add to the

:18:24. > :18:29.squad and change things around and do what you are instructed to do,

:18:29. > :18:39.which is to get promoted. I do not what Steve's remit was, or what

:18:39. > :18:40.

:18:40. > :18:50.Steve Cotterell's remit is, it is difficult to common. This is what

:18:50. > :18:56.

:18:56. > :19:05.Nottingham Forest fans think about # We want our Billy back, we want

:19:05. > :19:10.our Billy back... # I have great thoughts and feelings

:19:10. > :19:14.for the club. I really do. I wanted to get into the Premier League. The

:19:14. > :19:18.job is unfinished. Quite simply, I would love to finish that job, for

:19:18. > :19:26.the fans and the players that are there and for many good feed people

:19:27. > :19:31.at Nottingham Forest. There is any part of you feel vindicated? I do

:19:32. > :19:36.not think there is any doubt about that. It is all about remit. If you

:19:36. > :19:42.remit is to get promotion, and at times during the season, when

:19:42. > :19:46.things are needing a left, it is important to you as a manager at to

:19:46. > :19:50.direct that and to advise on what it takes to get there. You sound as

:19:50. > :19:56.if there is unfinished business for you? There is. The club deserves to

:19:56. > :20:00.be in the Premier League and the fans deserve it. The players

:20:01. > :20:04.deserve it. I am sad to see what has happened. I wish them well and

:20:04. > :20:08.I have no doubt they will get out of the Troubles. As I said, I wish

:20:08. > :20:14.them well. Five players out of contract in the summer. That needs

:20:15. > :20:21.to be sorted out quickly, surely? It is important to sort out long

:20:21. > :20:29.before and Major the ship stays steady. To make sure the players

:20:29. > :20:33.minds stay focused. -- make sure they should stay steady.

:20:33. > :20:37.Which of our teams have not conceded a goal in 2012, and has

:20:37. > :20:43.only let in four goals since the end of November? The answer is

:20:43. > :20:48.Derby County, whose goalkeeper Frank Fielding is emerging as a

:20:48. > :20:55.candidate for England's 2012 squad. He talked about meeting Wayne

:20:55. > :21:05.Rooney, his friendship with Taylor and why Derby is no home. -- is no

:21:05. > :21:10.

:21:10. > :21:16.warm. -- is now home. Nice to see you, this is it, your

:21:16. > :21:24.house! He was a Blackburn fan but he has made his way to Derby.

:21:24. > :21:30.feel this is my phone -- my home now. I have never been able to set

:21:30. > :21:39.up home anywhere. Football is his passion but his love saw his

:21:39. > :21:42.girlfriend, Horley, and his little Jack Russell, Taylor. Loads of

:21:42. > :21:49.people have different things, people play on the PlayStation,

:21:49. > :21:59.watch television. I have Taylor. He is part of my family. This is the

:21:59. > :22:01.

:22:01. > :22:05.kitchen. Who's the chef? Not me, my girlfriend. I like to think of

:22:05. > :22:11.myself as a bit mad. I had two older brothers when I was growing

:22:11. > :22:17.up. I got pushed in goals were I was younger. I ended up loving it.

:22:17. > :22:23.I would not have it any other way. Last August, Frank was called up

:22:23. > :22:27.for England. I was in the same would tell us Wayne Rooney. There

:22:27. > :22:33.were people there I watch weekend, week out on Match of the day. He

:22:33. > :22:43.came over to me and said, I, I am wane. I looked at him and said, I

:22:43. > :22:49.

:22:49. > :22:55.know you are. -- I'm Wayne. The wallpaper shows I am English and

:22:55. > :22:59.proud to be English. There is no better feeling than Britain that

:22:59. > :23:06.England kit on. It is something to tell my children when I get older.

:23:06. > :23:15.Just now, he is concentrating on playing for Derby. Playing for

:23:15. > :23:22.Derby are something of that I want to do as well as I can at. He is

:23:22. > :23:25.bubbly and funny. Most of all, he takes his football seriously.

:23:25. > :23:33.maybe Number One, and that was a massive thing for the start of the

:23:33. > :23:43.season. -- he made me Number One. decade with Derby would be just

:23:43. > :23:44.

:23:44. > :23:50.perfect for frying. He lost his father when he was 19. -- for Frank.

:23:50. > :23:54.Money cannot buy happiness. I am really happy right now. The people

:23:54. > :24:04.around me a really good and may have been very friendly up until

:24:04. > :24:04.

:24:04. > :24:12.now. Thank you, Frank. No problem. Come back any time soon.

:24:12. > :24:17.I know Frank heels from Derek's hometown, is he good enough to be

:24:17. > :24:25.England's goalkeeper? You never know. He has a hard job at the

:24:25. > :24:30.moment. Jo Hart has been in fantastic form. He has been

:24:30. > :24:34.outstanding this season. For Frank, it is going to be difficult. He is

:24:34. > :24:39.a young goalkeeper and he did well in the Under 21 tournament. If you

:24:39. > :24:44.get an opportunity in the squad, he has got the chance to show the

:24:44. > :24:51.staff around him what he's capable of. To get that backing from Nigel

:24:51. > :24:54.Clough is great, isn't it? It is fantastic for the kid. There are

:24:54. > :24:59.not too many young English goalkeepers going around. One or

:24:59. > :25:04.two of the senior ones have elected not to represent their country. It

:25:04. > :25:10.is a big opportunity for him. He has got to maintain the form he has

:25:10. > :25:14.shown over the last few months and see what it takes him. Sure.

:25:14. > :25:17.The Notts County manager Martin Allen despite his players as

:25:17. > :25:27.magnificent after a late penalty earned them an equaliser against MK

:25:27. > :26:01.

:26:01. > :26:11.Walsall rescued an equaliser as well, despite falling behind in the

:26:11. > :26:18.

:26:18. > :26:28.A 0.4 Walsall. Shrews bury underline their promotion push. The

:26:28. > :26:29.

:26:29. > :26:39.less than half-an-hour. But James Collins was bowled by Peter Brent

:26:39. > :27:01.

:27:01. > :27:11.and that allowed the home side to was the verdict of Mark Yates. They

:27:11. > :27:20.

:27:20. > :27:26.Bradford City goal from Andrew Davis. Five minutes from the end,

:27:26. > :27:30.substitute Chris Palmer or ensured a point. Welcome to the Michael

:27:30. > :27:36.judicial at Oxford. After the home side had taken the lead, the Oxford

:27:36. > :27:42.defender Michael Duberry equalised for Hereford. He neatly turned in

:27:42. > :27:47.Joe Colbeck's cross. He scored his second own goal later on. It was a

:27:47. > :27:57.precise header. Sadly for Hereford, he managed to score at the right

:27:57. > :28:00.

:28:00. > :28:07.end, to to to the final score. Two That is it for this evening. Don't

:28:08. > :28:17.forget, all seven of the late kick- off showers -- all seven of the

:28:18. > :28:31.

:28:31. > :28:33.late -- all seven of the Late Kick- David Nugent. That might silence
