:00:00. > :00:00.Your average person gets to take the bank holiday off. Football League

:00:07. > :00:08.fans, though, are far from average. That's why we're all here tonight.

:00:09. > :00:22.Welcome to Late Kick Off. Coming up on the last show of the

:00:23. > :00:26.series: A tale of two teams - charting the ups and the downs of a

:00:27. > :00:29.frantic final day at the bottom of League One.

:00:30. > :00:33.It was always going to be a tough day. We wanted to do it ourselves.

:00:34. > :00:37.We didn't want to rely on other teams to do it for us.

:00:38. > :00:41.The Clarets come to town - we're on the bus for Burnley's big bash.

:00:42. > :00:46.And three games from promotion - we check out the chances for our trio

:00:47. > :00:49.of play-off teams. Yeah, a lot to come. Also tonight,

:00:50. > :00:55.the very best... BUZZERS ..that these fellas brought us. According

:00:56. > :01:03.to staff, which Accrington player dresses the worst? BUZZER. Dean

:01:04. > :01:16.Winnard. LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE.

:01:17. > :01:21.Yeah, he wasn't happy, was he? Joining me in the studio tonight, a

:01:22. > :01:23.man whose season still has hopefully three games to go. It's

:01:24. > :01:27.play-off-bound Preston striker Kevin Davies. And with him a man who has

:01:28. > :01:30.played for Bury and Burnley, coached at Rochdale and North End and

:01:31. > :01:33.actually thought Dean Winnard looked a bit natty there. He's now a pundit

:01:34. > :01:36.on BBC Radios Manchester and Lancashire - welcome to Jamie

:01:37. > :01:38.Hoyland. Guys, thank you very much for coming.

:01:39. > :01:41.At the end of every season, one thing that's always guaranteed is

:01:42. > :01:44.final day drama. For two of our League One sides, that meant the

:01:45. > :01:47.dreaded last-ditch bid for survival. Crewe's fate was in their own hands,

:01:48. > :01:49.but Tranmere needed victory and favours from others, including

:01:50. > :01:52.Oldham, who hosted relegation rivals Notts County. Reporting from Gresty

:01:53. > :02:05.Road and Prenton Park, it's Ian and Alex.

:02:06. > :02:11.The sun is shining at Prenton Park. But Tranmere know that their fate is

:02:12. > :02:14.not in their own hands. They need it least a draw and for results

:02:15. > :02:17.elsewhere to go their way. In training this week, though, the

:02:18. > :02:20.players seemed very relaxed, there was a great team spirit and John

:02:21. > :02:24.McMahon said that they were determined to fight for their

:02:25. > :02:27.survival. They keep working hard, the players,

:02:28. > :02:31.they give it everything they have got. I'm sure, come Saturday, they

:02:32. > :02:34.are going to do exactly the same and hopefully the hard work and

:02:35. > :02:37.perseverance will pay off for us. The views of Tranmere coach John

:02:38. > :02:41.McMahon there but what about the Crewe boss, Steve Davis? Well, we

:02:42. > :02:44.did try to get a word with him but unfortunately he declined all TV

:02:45. > :02:48.interviews, saying it would put more pressure on him and the team ahead

:02:49. > :02:52.of a game they know they have to win to guarantee their status in League

:02:53. > :02:56.One next season. Second-season syndrome, I think it

:02:57. > :02:59.is, as they say in football. It is a tricky game, there is no doubt about

:03:00. > :03:03.that. I think it is very important, if there is any goals, that Crewe

:03:04. > :03:07.get the first goal. If they do, I think they could go on and get the

:03:08. > :03:10.result they want. I am nervous, very nervous. A good run of form at the

:03:11. > :03:15.moment, we just need to see it through to the end. Hopefully, at

:03:16. > :03:21.5pm tonight, we will still be in the division. Nervous. More nervous.

:03:22. > :03:26.Worried! COMMENTARY: Here we go then. A day

:03:27. > :03:29.of destiny for Tranmere. But, really, it's all about what

:03:30. > :03:36.Crewe Alexandra do. Their destiny is in their own hands.

:03:37. > :03:45.Inside the penalty area. Held it. It's gone in!

:03:46. > :03:48.Crewe are now putting pressure on. The crowd has been quieter since

:03:49. > :03:53.news came through of the Tranmere goal. Left-footed. Header! GOAL!

:03:54. > :03:57.Rises like a salmon and gets his first goal of the season!

:03:58. > :04:00.Adam Dugdale with the header. Look at the reaction around us. The fans

:04:01. > :04:07.firmly believe that Crewe are staying up. That is the chance. News

:04:08. > :04:11.is coming through of a goal at Crewe. You can see some fans

:04:12. > :04:12.checking their mobile phones for the score. As it stands, Tranmere remain

:04:13. > :04:24.relegated. Tackles have been flying in from

:04:25. > :04:34.both sides, resulting in some bad May for Tranmere - Junior Brown was

:04:35. > :04:38.given a straight red card. -- some bad news. Tranmere down to ten men.

:04:39. > :04:40.Still 1-0 up, still in the relegation zone.

:04:41. > :04:43.You have got some good Preston pressure in that block by Dugdale

:04:44. > :04:47.just a few moments ago. It might again prove vital. What a hero he is

:04:48. > :04:50.turning out to be this afternoon. Just want other goal, don't we?

:04:51. > :04:53.Another goal will settle it. Another 45 minutes to go and you never know

:04:54. > :04:56.what is going to happen. Crewe Alexandra will have another 45

:04:57. > :05:00.minutes to keep this result as it is and they will be in League One next

:05:01. > :05:03.season. I'm listening to Graham McGarry on Radio Stoke and hoping to

:05:04. > :05:07.hear that we are getting a goal at Tranmere and Tranmere are drawing.

:05:08. > :05:10.But we're not hearing that. What's the deal with Notts County and

:05:11. > :05:14.Oldham? As far as I know, nothing has changed there at all. It's still

:05:15. > :05:23.the same. We need to do something here if we can. What can he do? He

:05:24. > :05:27.is still battling. 2-0! Crewe Alexandra!

:05:28. > :05:31.That reaction just about says it all. Crewe are 2-0 up. Could that be

:05:32. > :05:34.the goal that secures their League One safety? Certainly, the fans

:05:35. > :05:37.think so. And, at Boundary Park, good news for

:05:38. > :05:43.Tranmere. And Adam Lockwood gives the Latics

:05:44. > :05:47.the lead. 22 minutes gone. The Tranmere fans over there have

:05:48. > :05:49.just let out a huge roar as the news is filtering through that Oldham

:05:50. > :05:53.have scored, meaning that Tranmere, as it stands, will stay in League

:05:54. > :05:59.One. But that didn't last long. There was

:06:00. > :06:04.a hand there and a penalty. High to his left.

:06:05. > :06:13.The near side now. Meredith turns it in. He has got it!

:06:14. > :06:17.Bad news from Prenton Park. Bradford have just scored. It is now 1-0

:06:18. > :06:20.here. The fans behind me here are just trying to get behind the

:06:21. > :06:24.Tranmere team now. They need one more goal and we also need something

:06:25. > :06:28.else at Oldham, we believe it is 1-1 there. At the minute, Tranmere will

:06:29. > :06:31.be relegated. News coming through an equaliser at

:06:32. > :06:36.the Tranmere game? Tranmere, one, Bradford, one, that's all I can

:06:37. > :06:39.hear. Obviously, that news is filtering through. I heard it

:06:40. > :06:45.shouted over there. I suppose it is a huge relief. Yes, it is a huge

:06:46. > :06:49.relief! It's not a bad substitution. The edge of the penalty area! Fires

:06:50. > :06:54.in goal! Preston have scored! Nervous times for Crewe. 90 seconds

:06:55. > :07:03.to go. The referee looks at his watch. Crewe Alexandra! They are

:07:04. > :07:07.League One team next season. The final whistle goes and Tranmere

:07:08. > :07:12.will be in League Two next season. The players sink to their knees,

:07:13. > :07:14.heads in hands. One minute, it was elation, the next it was just

:07:15. > :07:20.despair. I mean... Valiant effort but it is

:07:21. > :07:23.not this game we got relegated on, it is the other 45 before it as

:07:24. > :07:27.well. Some of the players were in tears at

:07:28. > :07:30.the end of the game. What can you say to them after that? It's

:07:31. > :07:35.difficult. They are emotional people. They'd given everything they

:07:36. > :07:39.could today. It wasn't through a lack of effort or commitment, or

:07:40. > :07:43.passion or desire. And it wasn't just today's game that's got us

:07:44. > :07:47.relegated, it is numerous things. And it's been from the start of the

:07:48. > :07:52.season. But, again, we need to regroup and take stock and hopefully

:07:53. > :07:56.come back stronger. This time last year, we were on the

:07:57. > :07:59.pitch with you as you fielded the entire home 11. Slightly different

:08:00. > :08:03.circumstances. I know - very different! But a happy day

:08:04. > :08:07.nonetheless. Yeah, I'm glad it finished like that. It was always

:08:08. > :08:11.going to be a tough day. We wanted to do it ourselves, we didn't want

:08:12. > :08:15.to rely on other teams to do it for us. Although, in the end, that has

:08:16. > :08:18.been helpful. But we just wanted to do it for ourselves and we have done

:08:19. > :08:21.today, which is good. To be honest, I'm devastated that Tranmere has

:08:22. > :08:26.gone down. I went there earlier this season on loan. But I have got a job

:08:27. > :08:29.to do. I'm pleased to get the goal and I'm more than pleased to get the

:08:30. > :08:33.three points and to stay in this division, it means a lot for the

:08:34. > :08:37.club and all the fans. We've been at the bottom of the league for the

:08:38. > :08:39.whole season, so it's been a long, hard season. We're just delighted

:08:40. > :08:41.that we're out of it all, we're delighted that we didn't go down..

:08:42. > :08:43.whole season, so it's been a long, Wow, talk about contrasting

:08:44. > :08:47.emotions! You can almost feel the stress through the screen, can't

:08:48. > :08:50.you? Here's how it all ended up, Tranmere now facing up to life in

:08:51. > :08:54.the bottom tier for the first time in 25 years. Kevin, we will talk

:08:55. > :08:57.about Preston in a moment. You were there at the weekend. What was the

:08:58. > :09:00.atmosphere like? It was a cracking atmosphere. There was a lot riding

:09:01. > :09:04.on the game for Crewe. We still wanted to finish the season on a

:09:05. > :09:06.high and take that momentum into the play-offs. But you have to give

:09:07. > :09:10.credit to them, they performed really well from start to finish.

:09:11. > :09:13.The early goal settled them down a bit and they were obviously checking

:09:14. > :09:16.on the other results and things but they wanted to do it themselves.

:09:17. > :09:20.They deserved it on the day but it was a good atmosphere and good luck

:09:21. > :09:23.to them. Yeah, it was a big crowd. There'd be a lot there from Preston,

:09:24. > :09:27.about 7,500. The manager, Steve Davis, says the crowd got them over

:09:28. > :09:30.the line. Yeah, you need that. We'll be looking to our crowd - they've

:09:31. > :09:34.backed us all year. You do need that crowd and it can get you over the

:09:35. > :09:37.line. They were fantastic, they got behind them throughout the game.

:09:38. > :09:40.They got that first goal, then the second and then they were pretty

:09:41. > :09:44.much safe. We were disappointed to lose the game, but they did deserve

:09:45. > :09:46.it on the day. More Preston in a second. Let's talk Tranmere. Real

:09:47. > :09:50.disappointment for them. They have lost four out of the last five. They

:09:51. > :09:53.could have turned it round, couldn't they? They could. Like the fans said

:09:54. > :09:56.there, and John McMahon, it's not that game that sent them down, it's

:09:57. > :10:00.all over the season. They have not produced in the big one on Saturday.

:10:01. > :10:02.Even though they needed a victory, they did not get that and the

:10:03. > :10:04.results went against them unfortunately. The takeover

:10:05. > :10:07.collapsed, they lost their manager... Everything that could go

:10:08. > :10:10.wrong in the season went wrong and then the sending-off on Saturday,

:10:11. > :10:14.the deflected goal, it was written that they were going to go down.

:10:15. > :10:18.Well, let's hope that, next season, we're talking them back up again.

:10:19. > :10:21.The top half of the League One table shows that we have one team with

:10:22. > :10:24.plenty to play for. Preston are heading for the play-offs and that

:10:25. > :10:26.defeat to Crewe, coupled with a win for Leyton Orient, means a

:10:27. > :10:33.fifth-place finish and Rotherham over two legs. Here are the details

:10:34. > :10:36.of those games: North End are at home in the first leg this coming

:10:37. > :10:38.Saturday and make the trip across the Pennines a week on Thursday.

:10:39. > :10:43.Build-up, commentary and reaction from both games on BBC Radio

:10:44. > :10:47.Lancashire. The queues have been there already today, Kevin. The fans

:10:48. > :10:49.have been served tea and copy while they waited for these precious

:10:50. > :10:53.tickets. Let's talk about this defeat to Crewe because that has

:10:54. > :10:57.cost you home advantage. How much of a blow is that? I'm not too sure

:10:58. > :11:01.about it. I think it can work either way. We wanted to finish on a high

:11:02. > :11:05.and finish third, just to finish as high as we can. We didn't target one

:11:06. > :11:08.of those teams to play. They are all really good teams in there, so for

:11:09. > :11:12.us to be promoted, we are going to have to beat two of them. That is

:11:13. > :11:16.going to be difficult. But we fancy our chances. There is no doubt about

:11:17. > :11:20.it, it will be a big crowd for us on Saturday and they will get right

:11:21. > :11:24.behind us. If we can take a good lead over to Rotherham, we will be

:11:25. > :11:27.in with a good shout. What do you make of Rotherham? You have drawn

:11:28. > :11:30.twice with them this season - 0-0 at their place and that incredible 3-3

:11:31. > :11:33.draw at your place, when they equalised in the last minute.

:11:34. > :11:37.There's a bit of a needle, isn't there? Yeah, there is a little bit.

:11:38. > :11:40.I think, if you look at the table, we're two teams that are really well

:11:41. > :11:44.matched and the results have proved that over the season. The two draws.

:11:45. > :11:47.They scored a late equaliser in that 3-3, as you mentioned there. We've

:11:48. > :11:51.already proven we can go there early in the season and get a result. We

:11:52. > :11:54.know what to expect. It will be difficult. They have only lost two

:11:55. > :11:57.or three games since the turn of the year. But we fancy our chances. We

:11:58. > :12:02.have worked incredibly hard to get where we are and I think we have got

:12:03. > :12:05.a manager who has proven that he can get you over the line. So we're

:12:06. > :12:08.looking forward to it. And your manager, Simon Grayson, said after

:12:09. > :12:11.the game at the weekend that it would sharpen you up mentally, that

:12:12. > :12:15.defeat. Is that what you were saying to each other in the dressing room

:12:16. > :12:18.after the game? Yeah. I think one of the important things is that we have

:12:19. > :12:22.always followed and backed that up with a good result. We've lost seven

:12:23. > :12:25.games all year. Every time we have lost a game, we have come back with

:12:26. > :12:29.a good performance. At home, I think we've scored 14 goals in the last

:12:30. > :12:32.three games. I think it will be a tough game for Rotherham as well.

:12:33. > :12:36.We've been in training today, there has been a good response. We've had

:12:37. > :12:39.a good week this week. We'll go into it on Saturday and... We can't wait.

:12:40. > :12:42.And the manager will have in mind that they are a tough, physical

:12:43. > :12:46.side, aren't they? Yeah, they revel at the top there and they have

:12:47. > :12:49.players who will look to support that. They are scoring a lot of

:12:50. > :12:53.goals. We know what to expect. We have to roll our sleeves up. It will

:12:54. > :12:56.be a real battle. They won't give up until the 95th minute. You know,

:12:57. > :13:00.whatever it takes, we have to match that. We have the quality player

:13:01. > :13:03.that we can bring in to win us the game. A lot of play-off history on

:13:04. > :13:07.this bench. Here, you're a winner. Jamie, you're a loser. Obviously,

:13:08. > :13:09.I'm a loser! What do you make of this record? Eight play-off attempts

:13:10. > :13:12.for Preston, and eight failures. Does that matter? Does it mean

:13:13. > :13:16.anything? Like Kevin says, they have got the man who could end that.

:13:17. > :13:19.Simon has got the pedigree in the play-offs to take them up. It will

:13:20. > :13:23.be a cracking game. The managers I don't think like each other. I went

:13:24. > :13:26.to the one where they were 3-3. Steven refused to shake hands with

:13:27. > :13:29.Simon when they were coming off. That'll add to it and that will

:13:30. > :13:32.galvanise as well. Going out there, knowing how much they don't like

:13:33. > :13:36.Rotherham, that they want to beat them. I think being at home for the

:13:37. > :13:39.first one will not matter. It doesn't matter in the play-offs. It

:13:40. > :13:42.is just how the players react. Wow. You need to be giving the team talk!

:13:43. > :13:45.I think Preston have got the big-name players who can get through

:13:46. > :13:48.it, to be honest. I've said all season that they'd go up

:13:49. > :13:51.automatically. I was wrong with that, but play-offs definitely.

:13:52. > :13:54.We'll take the next best thing. Get him in before the game, in a suit of

:13:55. > :13:57.armour, he'll have you fighting! Thanks very much, chaps. More from

:13:58. > :14:00.the boys in a second. One team down from League One but

:14:01. > :14:03.one to take Tranmere's place from League Two. BBC Radio Manchester's

:14:04. > :14:05.Liam Bradford starts his look back at the weekend's League Two action

:14:06. > :14:11.with promoted Rochdale. Pink pants and party mood for

:14:12. > :14:15.Rochdale officials and fans at Newport, as Keith Hill's side kicked

:14:16. > :14:17.off knowing that a win and the right results elsewhere could mean

:14:18. > :14:21.promotion to League One as champions. They got off to the right

:14:22. > :14:24.start, taking the lead through George Donnelly, but the home side

:14:25. > :14:27.were back on terms before the break, thanks to O'Connor's scrambled

:14:28. > :14:31.effort. Dale got a break late on when Ian Henderson was brought down

:14:32. > :14:34.in the box, and culprit Ryan Jackson was red carded. But Matty Lund's

:14:35. > :14:38.spot kick was saved, and it was the ten men who would go on to claim an

:14:39. > :14:41.unlikely three points, Kevin Feeley heading home with just three minutes

:14:42. > :14:46.to go, but it's a result which shouldn't and won't deflect from

:14:47. > :14:48.Dale's superb season. What we have done this season has been a massive

:14:49. > :14:53.achievement. A financial achievement as well. These players deserve all

:14:54. > :14:55.the accolades they are going to get. Fleetwood still hope to join Dale

:14:56. > :14:58.and Saturday's opponents Chesterfield in League One next

:14:59. > :15:01.season, but the play-offs are their only route to promotion. Matty Blair

:15:02. > :15:04.gave them the lead against the eventual champions with a nicely

:15:05. > :15:07.worked goal just thirteen minutes in, but this was Chesterfield's day

:15:08. > :15:10.and they made the most of it. Two goals within four minutes early in

:15:11. > :15:13.the second half turned the game around. First Sam Hird headed home,

:15:14. > :15:17.before former Accrington man Gary Roberts won it with the goal of the

:15:18. > :15:20.game. It's York in the play-offs now for Fleetwood. Stanley finished the

:15:21. > :15:24.season in style, winners over Wimbledon at home. Kayode Odejayi

:15:25. > :15:27.gave the hosts an early lead before a brace from James Gray put the

:15:28. > :15:30.result beyond doubt. He nodded home on 19 minutes and then converted

:15:31. > :15:36.Will Hatfield's corner as his side finished 15th in the final table.

:15:37. > :15:39.It's been contrasting ends to the season for Morecambe and Bury, who

:15:40. > :15:42.rounded the season off with a stalemate. Danny Mayor had the best

:15:43. > :15:45.chance for a Shakers side who lost just one of their last ten, while it

:15:46. > :15:49.was the Shrimps, winners of just one of their last 11, who had the best

:15:50. > :15:52.chance in the dying seconds, but Ryan Edwards fired high. Let's hope

:15:53. > :15:56.for better seasons for both teams next time out.

:15:57. > :16:02.Let's confirm all that. And a look at the final League Two table shows

:16:03. > :16:04.Dale up and Bury with a creditable top-half finish after a season much

:16:05. > :16:10.of which they spent struggling. Watch out for the Shakers next year.

:16:11. > :16:15.Fleetwood in the play-offs. More of them in a moment. A glance at the

:16:16. > :16:18.bottom half reveals Morecambe and Stanley. Safety and another Football

:16:19. > :16:21.League season, the big plusses for them after some worrying moments

:16:22. > :16:24.over the course of their campaigns. Let's focus on Fleetwood, Jamie.

:16:25. > :16:27.They are in the play-offs fourth. Will they be happy with that?

:16:28. > :16:31.Probably overall, no. With the results they got, the squad they

:16:32. > :16:35.have, I think they would have been disappointed not to be in the top

:16:36. > :16:38.three. As it is, they've hung on to the play-off spot because at one

:16:39. > :16:42.point it looked like they could miss out on that. They have the advantage

:16:43. > :16:48.of being away at York, so all to play for. You have seen them a bit.

:16:49. > :16:53.Do they have what it takes to get up? Yeah. Talking about big players,

:16:54. > :16:57.there's ones in their squad which should see them through, but they

:16:58. > :17:00.are playing York, who were second bottom are few months ago and have

:17:01. > :17:05.come through. They could be the side who could surprise somebody. Let's

:17:06. > :17:13.look at the fixtures for that game against York. Fleetwood have a tough

:17:14. > :17:16.task because York are in form, unbeaten in their last ten. Yeah,

:17:17. > :17:18.they are. They have some decent players. They have a couple of young

:17:19. > :17:20.players doing really well, Will Hayhurst and Ben Davies, who have

:17:21. > :17:21.done well. players doing really well, Will

:17:22. > :17:25.Hayhurst and Ben Davies, I think it will be a difficult game for

:17:26. > :17:28.Fleetwood. York won at Fleetwood in February 2-1 and then Fleetwood

:17:29. > :17:34.managed to knock over one at York. Can you read anything into previous

:17:35. > :17:38.results when it comes to a play-off? It is in the back of your mind,

:17:39. > :17:42.especially when it is a positive one where you've been there and turned

:17:43. > :17:44.them over 3-0, you know you have the beating of them so it helps

:17:45. > :17:48.psychologically but on the day anything could happen, they could

:17:49. > :17:50.take an early lead or there could be a sending-off, it helps mentally.

:17:51. > :17:54.The manager would use that, we beat these, remember when we came back in

:17:55. > :18:02.the second half, and using it as a positive to get something going in

:18:03. > :18:05.the game. Good luck to Fleetwood. The Championship has kept us busy

:18:06. > :18:08.again this season with north west action and interest at both ends of

:18:09. > :18:10.the table. Suzanne Hailey kicks off her look back at the last weekend

:18:11. > :18:22.with the almost safe Seasiders. A season to forget for the Seasiders

:18:23. > :18:25.and a final game to match. Results everywhere kept them up and it's a

:18:26. > :18:33.good job they did, after a 3-0 home defeat to Charlton. At the end of

:18:34. > :18:37.the day our remit was Tuesday in the league and we have that the hard

:18:38. > :18:43.way, but they can be hard because from day one, then given me

:18:44. > :18:47.everything. Dash-mac they have given me everything. Then tried so hard in

:18:48. > :18:52.their training everyday and its been a joy to watch them. Bolton ended up

:18:53. > :18:54.being a story, but only for the comeback and relegation reprieve

:18:55. > :18:58.they allowed Birmingham. Wanderers led 2-0 late on, thanks to goals

:18:59. > :19:03.from Chung Yung Lee and then Lukas Jutkiewicz, his effort helped on the

:19:04. > :19:07.way by Blues keeper Darren Randolph. Bolton boss Dougie Freedman says his

:19:08. > :19:11.side have dropped too many points at home this season, and to prove it,

:19:12. > :19:14.they allowed Birmingham back in. They scored two late goals to earn a

:19:15. > :19:18.point and a place in the Championship next season. Blackburn

:19:19. > :19:23.kicked off against play-off bound Wigan with a slim chance of joining

:19:24. > :19:27.the visitors in the top six. The action is described by BBC Radio

:19:28. > :19:31.Lancashire's Andy Bayes. And it's Cairney, he has Conway outside of

:19:32. > :19:39.him. On his left foot, beautiful skill from Tom Cairney. That is a

:19:40. > :19:43.magnificent goal. Here comes the delivery. Robinson's gone forward

:19:44. > :19:48.and it's headed into the net, and it is Ramis with the finish. It's back

:19:49. > :19:53.to Rudy Gestede, 2-1. Blackburn back in front straightaway. Cairney with

:19:54. > :20:01.a cross, good header, good goal. Excellent finish. Now McEachran to

:20:02. > :20:05.get the crossing, McClean, 3-2. Dash-mac to get across in. Craig

:20:06. > :20:10.Conway to deliver the free kick for Blackburn. Can they seal the points

:20:11. > :20:14.here? They can. Maynard shoots, what a great goal. Burnley bid farewell

:20:15. > :20:17.to the Championship with a point at Reading, one which cost the home

:20:18. > :20:21.side a play-off place. Scott Arfield and Danny Ings put The Clarets 2-1

:20:22. > :20:24.up after they had gone behind early, but this corker from McAuley meant

:20:25. > :20:28.honours ended even at the end of memorable Burnley campaign. Good

:20:29. > :20:36.effort. Great goal. Burnley's weekend didn't end in

:20:37. > :20:39.Reading. There was the small matter of a promotion party back home, one

:20:40. > :20:45.to which the whole town... Don't laugh, he's the mayor. ..was

:20:46. > :20:52.invited. Absolutely amazing. Brings tears to

:20:53. > :20:57.your eyes. They're all happy. Great for the town as well. Look where we

:20:58. > :21:22.are, Burnley are promoted! CHEERING. For these players, my staff, myself

:21:23. > :21:24.to be manager of a team in the Premier league and walking around

:21:25. > :21:31.fantastic stadiums is a great achievement and one that we all look

:21:32. > :21:37.forward to going into next season. I've been waiting for this moment

:21:38. > :21:44.all my life. Best day of my life. Hopefully I can take it into next

:21:45. > :21:47.season and really enjoy it. It's huge for the town, getting

:21:48. > :21:52.promotion. It's been a great year and it's a lovely way to cap it off.

:21:53. > :21:58.Come on, Burnley! You might be on telly!

:21:59. > :22:02.We're all on telly. A look at the final Championship table shows

:22:03. > :22:10.Burnley bound for the Premier League and Wigan heading for the play-offs.

:22:11. > :22:14.The other end shows a disappointing season for Bolton and survival for

:22:15. > :22:17.the Seasiders. I think we can expect interesting and busy summers for

:22:18. > :22:19.both of those sides. Wigan's fifth-place finish means a play-off

:22:20. > :22:22.against pre-season promotion favourites and big let-downs QPR.

:22:23. > :22:25.BBC Radio Manchester will have the very best coverage of Friday's home

:22:26. > :22:26.leg and then the return at Loftus Road a week tonight.

:22:27. > :22:28.BBC Radio Manchester will have the very I'm told that return leg is

:22:29. > :22:30.already sold out. very I'm told that return leg is

:22:31. > :22:33.Jamie, let's look at Wigan's prospects. A few weeks ago, everyone

:22:34. > :22:39.was talking about them, a real inform team but they've dropped off

:22:40. > :22:43.a cliff. They've lost three out of the last four. What does Uwe Rosler

:22:44. > :22:46.have to do? Exactly. At one stage they were looking at the automatic.

:22:47. > :22:52.They had the semifinal, which they lost to Arsenal and since then

:22:53. > :22:56.they've hit the form. -- they haven't had the form. I saw them at

:22:57. > :22:58.Burnley and Burnley wiped the floor with them, then they struggled

:22:59. > :23:01.against Blackburn and just managed to get over the line against

:23:02. > :23:04.Birmingham, lost against Saturday and then went into play-offs with

:23:05. > :23:08.that form in the back of their mind. He'll have to galvanise them and get

:23:09. > :23:11.them together. It is a tough game against QPR. QPR have been very hit

:23:12. > :23:15.and miss, you do not know which side will turn up, but if they do, they

:23:16. > :23:19.have some big players. They have the players, I think Austin is back now,

:23:20. > :23:23.he's a key player for them, but for them not to get

:23:24. > :23:25.he's a key player for them, but for for them. You expect them to be

:23:26. > :23:28.challenging Leicester for the title, so they found themselves in the

:23:29. > :23:33.play-offs and it will be an interesting game. It's a tough one

:23:34. > :23:37.to call. Uwe Rosler has done a fantastic job since he's been there,

:23:38. > :23:40.he hasn't been there that long, so he's still working on the squad.

:23:41. > :23:44.He's an ex-teammate of mine, and he's working on the fitness. The

:23:45. > :23:48.amount of games they've had to play, maybe that will catch up on them,

:23:49. > :23:52.but he is probably resting a few key players and trying to get them ready

:23:53. > :23:59.for these two huge games. They will know each other well from Premier

:24:00. > :24:05.league games. -- from Premier league days. But QPR, if it goes wrong for

:24:06. > :24:08.them early on, their fans will turn because they have had enough this

:24:09. > :24:12.season. They have. They have to get over the line this year and that is

:24:13. > :24:16.one thing in Wigan's favour, all the pressure is on QPR to go up, so they

:24:17. > :24:19.can be a little more relaxed and get on with the game. They have a bigger

:24:20. > :24:24.wage bills than Borussia Dortmund, so there's pressure there. And

:24:25. > :24:28.that's just Joey Barton! Thanks, guys. There you are, Jamie, that's

:24:29. > :24:32.for you. It's gone off early. That's yours, Kevin. Now then, over the

:24:33. > :24:43.last couple of years, those noises...

:24:44. > :24:51.It took us an artery to reverse that. -- and are to reverse that.

:24:52. > :24:54.These have given us a lot of laughs. A big thank you to all the teams

:24:55. > :24:59.that have played along brilliantly with our little bit of fun, One on

:25:00. > :25:00.One. As a tribute to you all, and to give us all another giggle, here's

:25:01. > :25:12.this season's best bits. Well, I say Best. Finish the title of this

:25:13. > :25:20.famous Beatles song. Strawberry... Cream.

:25:21. > :25:33.Name Han Solo's Wookie companion from Star Wars. I know this one.

:25:34. > :25:42.Chewbacca. Do your impression again. Go on. It's a once in a lifetime.

:25:43. > :25:56.Which cricket team is the Red Rose County? Georgia. What? Can you give

:25:57. > :26:06.us a clue? They play at Old Trafford. Lancashire.

:26:07. > :26:13.Which player complains the most? Jason Shackell. Ross Wallace. He

:26:14. > :26:20.comes in and whinges everyday about breakfast not being right. Get it

:26:21. > :26:31.right. What is the capital city of Canada?

:26:32. > :26:46.You can't write that! Canberra. That's Australia! Get him off. It

:26:47. > :26:51.begins with an O. Ottawa. According to staff, which Accrington

:26:52. > :27:08.player dresses the worst? Dean Winnard.

:27:09. > :27:27.What is superhero Batman's real name? Bruce Willis. Bruce Wayne. You

:27:28. > :27:29.can't take help. How many livers does a human being

:27:30. > :27:48.have? Two or one. Three. I can only imagine it's like an

:27:49. > :27:51.episode of Newsnight before a game in some of these dressing rooms. You

:27:52. > :27:55.were there. Did he get some stick for that? I think they picked him on

:27:56. > :27:59.purpose to embarrass him with his answers but he was good fun. What

:28:00. > :28:02.kind of banter do you guys have prior to a game? Is it the case, if

:28:03. > :28:05.someone's reading the Guardian, they're a swot? Do you have some

:28:06. > :28:09.huge intellects? I've not seen too many over the 21 years I've been

:28:10. > :28:13.playing, but it's a good place to go in and work every day, have a laugh

:28:14. > :28:15.and enjoy working hard. Certainly in no Sheffield United or Burnley

:28:16. > :28:20.dressing room did anyone read the Guardian. Thank you for coming in.

:28:21. > :28:26.It's been brilliant. Oh, it's gone off, I stood on it. Sorry. Not only

:28:27. > :28:30.is that it for tonight, or is it this morning? I've lost track. But

:28:31. > :28:34.also for the series. Thanks to everyone who has helped us and you

:28:35. > :28:38.gain a real insight into the game at Football League level. We'll be on

:28:39. > :28:41.the BBC iPlayer for one more week, but from all the team here, thanks

:28:42. > :28:44.for watching. Have a great close season. Good luck to all our sides

:28:45. > :28:46.in the play-offs. We'll see you next season, with a bit of luck.

:28:47. > :29:20.Goodnight. and the grand final with me,

:29:21. > :29:21.Graham Norton.
