:00:00. > :00:38.Hello, and welcome to Snooker Extra, extended highlights of the

:00:39. > :00:44.match between Neal Robertson and Judd Trump. Robinson, the

:00:45. > :00:50.Australian, taking on Judd Trump, his first quarter-final since 2013.

:00:51. > :00:53.Robertson is the man to beat here at Alexandra Palace, having won

:00:54. > :00:54.Champion of champions at the UK championship in New York in

:00:55. > :01:16.December. These two players have been regular

:01:17. > :01:22.features on our major tournaments, in the final stages, so you would

:01:23. > :01:27.expect them to be experienced enough to get off to a good start. And not

:01:28. > :01:39.to be overawed by the occasion of the Masters. Yes, the new breed, a

:01:40. > :01:43.packed house, great atmosphere. Great potters, you will see some

:01:44. > :01:58.outstanding shots played today. Just plain to contain, not catching

:01:59. > :02:02.it quite right, though. He may have left a pot for Judd, just sticking

:02:03. > :02:32.out of the main cluster. Sometimes at this level, those half

:02:33. > :02:33.chances will make the difference between winning and losing the

:02:34. > :03:03.frame. Not easy for Neal Robertson to play

:03:04. > :03:08.this loose red at the bottom of the table, and any path back to the top

:03:09. > :03:15.of the table could collide with brown or green. That bread does pot

:03:16. > :03:25.into the middle pocket, even at an acute angle, so... -- red. Where

:03:26. > :03:35.Robertson has left that, he is hoping that if Judd does get it he

:03:36. > :03:38.can't get a colour. Somebody's earpiece is quite loud, can you

:03:39. > :03:47.check them and turned them down, please? It is a decent shot for an

:03:48. > :03:48.opportunity at this red. It would have been better if he had got it

:03:49. > :04:15.tight on the cushion. He played that pretty well, a

:04:16. > :04:31.surprising choice of shot from Neil.

:04:32. > :04:45.Where has the cue ball gone? It is tough to get it in their past the

:04:46. > :04:49.yellow -- there. It just came off the first caution, he would think

:04:50. > :05:13.the yellow would be blocking the path.

:05:14. > :05:30.I don't think you can play it with just the tracer sized to get to the

:05:31. > :05:34.bottom. You can see that trademark alignment of Judd Trump, it looked

:05:35. > :05:42.like he was aiming to miss the red to the top caution, then readjusted

:05:43. > :05:53.and missed it to the side. A tough way to play, but it works for him.

:05:54. > :06:07.Keep your eyes on how straight cueing Neil Robertson's is. That is

:06:08. > :06:12.an easier way to play. I don't think anyone pushes it through quite as

:06:13. > :06:18.straight as Neil. That is why he is one of the best potters in the game.

:06:19. > :06:23.A bit careless from Judd, and I think that might just be the slight

:06:24. > :06:27.difference between the two players. If it comes to a tactical battle,

:06:28. > :06:33.which I don't expect it to, but you slightly favour Neil Robertson. If

:06:34. > :06:39.you are going to look at longevity within the game, I would say that

:06:40. > :06:56.Neil Robertson's straight cueing would hold him in better stead.

:06:57. > :07:03.Judd did come into the studio after his first match, saying he wasn't

:07:04. > :07:12.particularly confident at the moment.

:07:13. > :07:22.Yes, it has been a long time between drinks, in regards to winning

:07:23. > :07:30.events. He has taken a bit of a riskier. Yes, this looks at the

:07:31. > :08:33.gift. I'm not sure what he was playing, surely not that.

:08:34. > :08:43.Just having a look, he has already looked past this red, and probably

:08:44. > :08:47.looking through for the black. That is the sort of angle he needs on the

:08:48. > :08:59.black, but he may be playing for the pink. He decided to go back for the

:09:00. > :09:02.blue, but to avoid that second read, I don't know how he could possibly

:09:03. > :09:06.have got the right side of the blue. No, it was tough but he was

:09:07. > :09:35.loath to tie up the pink. He would have liked the cue ball to

:09:36. > :10:03.come off that second caution a bit wider -- cushion. That wasn't very

:10:04. > :10:09.straight, even that time. That little piece you put on the end of

:10:10. > :10:16.the cue is not massive, it changes to throw off the shot and the

:10:17. > :10:26.dynamic of the cue. Nicely played, perfect on the black.

:10:27. > :10:44.A decent chance, this. You don't want the cue ball to get too close

:10:45. > :11:09.to the cushion. It was an easy black, so he didn't

:11:10. > :11:15.risk too much for the positional side of things. He was out of

:11:16. > :11:26.position enough that it was missable. A few mistakes to start

:11:27. > :11:33.off this all-important match, with a place in the semifinals at stake.

:11:34. > :11:35.That is not the greatest shot, a bit of side spin has it ending up on the

:11:36. > :12:05.top cushion. Well, this is a surprise. I'm not

:12:06. > :12:11.sure that was totally his fault. A puzzled look on his face, that is

:12:12. > :12:17.for certain. It is funny, you expect a match, and I suppose these two

:12:18. > :12:20.came out expecting it to be a bombardment, but you never know what

:12:21. > :12:30.is going to happen on a snooker table. As we say, no two frames

:12:31. > :12:42.alike. Both players a little bit tight in the arm, a big match, the

:12:43. > :12:54.respect for each other's stability. He struck that well. -- ability. He

:12:55. > :13:02.just got a nice angle on the blue. He would have liked more. He hasn't

:13:03. > :13:08.got many opportunities to go into the pack well, and that will be a

:13:09. > :13:27.risk coming in from outside, but he has got a good result. He just got

:13:28. > :13:41.enough pace on the cue ball. Can he drop the blue in? He can do it

:13:42. > :14:10.comfortably. He has already spurned one decent opportunity, can he make

:14:11. > :14:12.the most of this one? He is starting to get the cue through a lot better

:14:13. > :14:20.now. On the right side of the blue this

:14:21. > :14:41.time. . He is deciding whether that was a

:14:42. > :14:46.good idea, but... If he had screwed back he might have left a possibly

:14:47. > :15:01.easier one. As he is left-handed, it makes this shot a lot easier.

:15:02. > :15:15.He was only a fraction away from snickering himself kind the blue. --

:15:16. > :15:19.snookering. He may have settled down into what could be an all-important

:15:20. > :15:37.first frame. Especially as both players looked a bit tense.

:15:38. > :16:01.This red will put him in front. Bless you! Somebody sneezed just on

:16:02. > :16:13.the shot. It didn't put him off, as it shouldn't do. Neil Robertson...

:16:14. > :16:22.It is usually a costly thing to do at this level. He just seems to be

:16:23. > :16:33.getting the cue through nice and smooth now, Judd Trump. Two snookers

:16:34. > :16:45.need it. Neil Robertson will carry on. A relatively nice area between

:16:46. > :16:50.black and pink at some stage, not sure he could get it from this

:16:51. > :17:06.shot, but he would have to be tight behind one of them. My mistake, it

:17:07. > :17:25.is three 4 point snookers required. More likely to need free ball.

:17:26. > :17:41.A great shot. That object ball was so close to the cushion that he

:17:42. > :17:49.realised that it would check with some top spin, and that is what it

:17:50. > :17:55.did. Judd has to be careful he doesn't leave a free ball. Good hit!

:17:56. > :18:05.Very good hit! Neil Robertson won't be putting this

:18:06. > :18:43.red. Has he got the double? He has! That

:18:44. > :18:46.is the end of any thought of Neil Robertson getting the snooker now.

:18:47. > :18:50.He won't be coming back to the table in this first frame. A bit of Judd

:18:51. > :19:00.Trump's naughty snooker. The first couple of shots he played,

:19:01. > :19:07.I was thinking, maybe he is not quite on it today. But Neil

:19:08. > :19:10.Robertson missed the black off the spot and it seems to have

:19:11. > :19:16.reinvigorated him. I think that can happen, you can walk out and play a

:19:17. > :19:21.few rotten shots and feel rubbish, and then your opponent lets you off

:19:22. > :19:22.the hook and you get a few nice starters under your belt, and the

:19:23. > :19:48.next minute you are worldbeater. He is certainly entertaining. Seven

:19:49. > :19:53.cushion positional shot, that one. A great start, but when Neil Robertson

:19:54. > :19:55.missed the black off the spot it seems to have inspired him. And he

:19:56. > :20:27.wins the first frame, 1-0. A decent break off shot from Neil

:20:28. > :20:32.Robertson. It is one of those packs with loose threads on either side of

:20:33. > :21:02.it, it is not straightforward to just come off the side cushion and

:21:03. > :21:07.nestle into them -- reds. A bit of speculative play from Judd Trump. He

:21:08. > :21:10.will be quite happy with that first attempt, it is quite close.

:21:11. > :21:22.Expecting to readjust for the second one. The one thing you are wary of,

:21:23. > :21:32.particularly on the first part, is catching it too thick. He couldn't

:21:33. > :21:51.have played that better. Well played.

:21:52. > :22:40.Much too thick and very fortunate. Very lucky not to leave a red out.

:22:41. > :22:55.A bit short of pace, but the yellow has come in very handy. Again, Judd

:22:56. > :23:14.snookered on all red. Not too much of a problem to come off the side

:23:15. > :23:18.cushion. Touching ball. Neil Robertson could risk trying to get

:23:19. > :23:27.tight behind the yellow, that it will still be hard to force an

:23:28. > :23:37.opening. Arguably, he can play a shot that gets Judd to open a few

:23:38. > :23:41.red. He could swerve around the yellow to catch the side of the

:23:42. > :23:47.pack, but it is a tough judgement shot. You could catch it too thick.

:23:48. > :23:53.He is going up and down. That is risky as well, so well played.

:23:54. > :24:04.That was a terrific shot. To judge it so well coming off a cushion,

:24:05. > :24:20.excellent. This red will be pottable to the

:24:21. > :24:40.left corner. Judd with his hand on the table can manoeuvre the cue

:24:41. > :24:43.ball. Perfect. From such a thin cut to actually get a bit of screw back

:24:44. > :24:53.on there to hold the cue ball was superb. One of the strengths of Judd

:24:54. > :25:29.Trump's game. He gets a lot of action with the cue ball.

:25:30. > :25:36.Coming down for the black. I can only assume that that red is only

:25:37. > :25:46.above the black and will go into this opposite corner here. That is

:25:47. > :25:56.very handy for Judd, of course, now he has the black available to both

:25:57. > :26:11.corners. This is an excellent opportunity. You always need a bit

:26:12. > :26:50.of luck when you go through them, looking at his body language...

:26:51. > :26:54.Is no need to go into the reds again from that shot, there was a bit of

:26:55. > :27:16.danger involved in that. As Steve said, he didn't really need

:27:17. > :27:31.to have to play any more, he is on this red, but he got that one red,

:27:32. > :27:37.which cleared the par-4 another. -- path for another. This is a great

:27:38. > :27:48.opportunity, there is no doubt about that. We know Judd is not frightened

:27:49. > :28:01.of winning. It would be an interesting scenario to have the

:28:02. > :28:15.player in form. Somewhere down the line, the wheels have got to fall

:28:16. > :28:24.off. I suggest he has to get his big game going. Here certainly capable

:28:25. > :28:39.of that. I don't think he will get much opportunity to do anything more

:28:40. > :28:59.in this frame. The red and black, that is all that is needed. It is

:29:00. > :29:29.hard to believe, with someone like Judd Trump, big scorer.

:29:30. > :29:42.We would be amazed if he didn't make the century here. This has been

:29:43. > :29:45.excellent play from Judd. He was in trouble a couple of times, played

:29:46. > :30:11.two excellent escapes. He is now free of that. Here's just

:30:12. > :30:20.having a look at the scoreboard. The highest break at the moment is held

:30:21. > :30:26.by Mark Allen. He can better that. If he gets the blue he can only

:30:27. > :30:32.equalled the highest break. That's why he is playing the black. He is

:30:33. > :30:43.trying to beat the 137, not bothered about the 100. He's got it, you

:30:44. > :30:56.know! He will need another good shot on this red.

:30:57. > :31:23.What a pity. It kept Neil Robertson in his seat of most about frame.

:31:24. > :31:33.There is the trophy that one of these players will be hoping to get

:31:34. > :31:35.their hands on. Neil Robertson has already lifted it once, Judd Trump

:31:36. > :31:54.yet to win a Masters. He caught that much too thick and

:31:55. > :31:58.that is why the cueball has not come back to the other half of the table

:31:59. > :32:10.so a nice easy starter for Neil Robertson, here.

:32:11. > :32:26.LUX got a bit tied up during that shot. -- black.

:32:27. > :32:38.Read to be right of the black. -- read. He could get the blackout

:32:39. > :32:46.straightaway if he gets right on the read.

:32:47. > :33:30.Great shot to get the correct side of the blue.

:33:31. > :33:41.Nicely on this red. Available spot in both corners. We ask what the

:33:42. > :33:45.response from Neil Robertson is going to be. It looks like a

:33:46. > :33:51.positive one. Didn't waste much time in getting

:33:52. > :34:25.that black back into open play. Didn't like to contact there. -- the

:34:26. > :34:28.contact. He could play to leave himself low on that. Depends whether

:34:29. > :34:43.he can hold for it. I think he feels that there is a lot

:34:44. > :34:52.of chance of losing the cueball on the shot.

:34:53. > :34:57.That's why he didn't hit it with too much pace. Easy on the read. That is

:34:58. > :35:08.what he has played for. -- red. Have to play with a trace of

:35:09. > :35:20.right-hand side, just turn it right over.

:35:21. > :35:30.I'm not sure he's happy with it. He's going for it.

:35:31. > :35:46.He made that with side spin. See where the cueball hit the read it

:35:47. > :35:49.wasn't going to the pocket at the right-hand side has been flicked,

:35:50. > :36:14.the red left. Great judgement there. Not a good shot there. Absolutely

:36:15. > :36:17.perfect on the read. -- red. Lining up the pink as the ball took try to

:36:18. > :36:37.line up the reds here. If he is going to play this with any

:36:38. > :36:45.pace, which is got to, he's got to be pretty accurate with the pink.

:36:46. > :36:56.And he was full of top absolutely perfect. He's finished on a red to

:36:57. > :37:00.the left corner. He could not have played it any better. Even the pink

:37:01. > :37:14.doesn't have brilliant queuing. I would be amazed now if we're not

:37:15. > :37:21.going into that midsession interval 2-2.

:37:22. > :38:23.This is so impressive from 2-0 down. And back against the third frame.

:38:24. > :38:33.59 point the lead. There's something about the availability of those to

:38:34. > :38:42.read that are very close together. -- reds. If it doesn't go to the

:38:43. > :38:47.right corner than he may have to be thinking, well, I don't get does. So

:38:48. > :38:51.he's got to be thinking of potting this red and getting a nice angle on

:38:52. > :38:57.the colour to get the red's into play. He needs another red, one into

:38:58. > :39:09.the middle. Maybe. Looks to have a decent angle on the

:39:10. > :39:11.blacks to get relatively close to the read into the left middle,

:39:12. > :39:25.should that be the choice. That is what he has played. Having a

:39:26. > :39:30.look at his body language I think he is happy with the results. This red

:39:31. > :39:48.will put in 68 points in front which is just 67 remaining.

:39:49. > :40:00.Definitely puts those all square. Jed Trump off to a flyer. Race 282-0

:40:01. > :40:04.lead. He knew, and I suppose we all knew that Neil Robertson, the way he

:40:05. > :40:08.has been playing this season, was going

:40:09. > :40:10.knew that Neil Robertson, the way he has been playing this season, was to

:40:11. > :40:18.start firing on all cylinders sooner or later. So, both players will go

:40:19. > :40:22.into the fixed interval with good zero to take from these frames. --

:40:23. > :40:39.thoughts. I suppose that Judd would be the

:40:40. > :40:48.more disappointed having held the lead. And perhaps Neil Robertson

:40:49. > :40:55.feeling like he's Superman, like he's never going to be taken apart,

:40:56. > :40:58.that he has the ability in all departments of the game from any

:40:59. > :41:06.position. It is always a nice feeling. Well, we keep saying he has

:41:07. > :41:10.been the man of the season so far, the champion of the champions, the

:41:11. > :41:21.UK championship. He is such a beautiful cueist. A good all round

:41:22. > :41:31.game, as he has proved, to claw his way back into this match.

:41:32. > :41:41.Still a chance of a century. We have already seen one in the second frame

:41:42. > :41:50.from Judd Trump. And a chance of a big break here. If he pops the blue

:41:51. > :41:58.there is a possible 140 on. As I said earlier, the highest break at

:41:59. > :42:08.the moment is held by Mark Allen. 137.

:42:09. > :42:22.Not often these days the high break is, by the end of the tournament,

:42:23. > :42:26.less than 140. But, obviously less matches and a Masters than most. --

:42:27. > :42:45.in the Masters. That was the 15 of the tournament.

:42:46. > :43:20.The black and the six remaining colours for a 139.

:43:21. > :43:27.Stephen Hendry in the studio just before this frame set meal at the

:43:28. > :43:31.moment, as it stands, he is strutting around the table. He is

:43:32. > :43:38.strutting around it now. This has been a marvellous break. He has not

:43:39. > :43:54.put a foot wrong. This black and the high break prize is ?10,000. And

:43:55. > :44:02.Neil Robertson absolutely splendid. Neil Robertson, nothing scrappy

:44:03. > :44:08.about that one. Highest break of the tournament.

:44:09. > :44:17.Judd Trump gets the fifth frame under way. No more intervals. Play

:44:18. > :44:28.to a finish now. Best of 11, first to six frames.

:44:29. > :44:43.It looks like it will stop short of the ball line.

:44:44. > :44:52.So, an early chance as Judd Trump decides to Phil Hughes glassful of

:44:53. > :44:54.water. He might have a chance to drink quite a bit of it. -- Phil

:44:55. > :45:39.Hughes glass full of No one would find that a surprising

:45:40. > :45:44.choice of shot. Obviously didn't want to come off the main bunch of

:45:45. > :45:55.red and not bring breadth into play. -- reds. All that considered,

:45:56. > :46:01.that is not the best shot from Judd Trump. OK, maybe he couldn't have

:46:02. > :46:02.got behind the yellow but he could have had his cueball tight to the

:46:03. > :46:17.cushion. Well, that shot was interesting

:46:18. > :46:22.inasmuch as he decided once again to not opened the pack and risk leaving

:46:23. > :46:44.Judd and easy starter. Terrific. As it was he called it bar

:46:45. > :46:53.too thin. You think it's the gameplan? Keep the balls tight

:46:54. > :47:04.against Judd? As you say he was just intent on playing a thin safety so

:47:05. > :47:12.he didn't bring red anys into play. He is playing absolutely perfect. He

:47:13. > :47:25.just needs to rely on the cueball control. They are their parade

:47:26. > :47:44.match-winning contribution. -- there for. Nicely on the blue.

:47:45. > :47:50.It's a wonderful shot to split the pack up. It's got so much backspin

:47:51. > :48:04.on the cue ball red that it powered its way back to thes and open up

:48:05. > :48:09.beautifully. -- reds. Didn't really hit them that hard but got so much

:48:10. > :48:17.backspin on them. He'll be a little bit disappointed with that.

:48:18. > :48:25.Red He should have been straight on that and played for the black. You

:48:26. > :48:36.can lose control of it. And in many ways yellow and green up

:48:37. > :48:39.better suited to guaranteeing to get black up the table in the blue

:48:40. > :49:15.sometimes. -- back. As we were saying it was such a good

:49:16. > :49:21.pack greater that he doesn't have to play any more cannons. Just keep

:49:22. > :49:57.close control with the cueball. And frame at his mercy.

:49:58. > :50:04.You wouldn't expect him to miss this. It all depends really weather

:50:05. > :50:12.is just a natural tour drop it in on the back but it looks like he's

:50:13. > :50:26.going back up for the blue again. Just about got the angle require it.

:50:27. > :50:36.Red and a colour require it. 57 ahead, 67 remaining.

:50:37. > :50:44.His heart was in his mouth for a second day. It was on to the jaw.

:50:45. > :50:54.That is why he stayed down. Just enough of the pocket to go in. And

:50:55. > :51:00.that black, 65 ahead now, 59 remaining.

:51:01. > :51:12.But he would love to pot this and keep Neil Robertson in his chair.

:51:13. > :51:22.Neil Robertson a little bit negative with a couple of safety shots early

:51:23. > :51:29.on in this frame. Whether it was a gameplan, just to keep the balls

:51:30. > :51:42.tight. We saw Judd Trump and his cue power. He opened the reds up

:51:43. > :51:48.beautifully. Good standard. A third century of the match. Yes, it is

:51:49. > :51:54.turning into a cracking match. That was after a very nervous opening

:51:55. > :51:59.frame. No chance of the highest break of the tournament with this

:52:00. > :52:07.break, so expect something naughty, John. Especially with that chat with

:52:08. > :52:17.Ken Doherty. Let's see the 101st. Well played. Very well played. A

:52:18. > :52:29.terrific opening red, you know, he was tight under the cushion.

:52:30. > :52:40.I don't think they'd be naughty on the screen, could start with the

:52:41. > :52:43.brown, I feel. -- green. I think if you played it too hard you wouldn't

:52:44. > :52:50.get position on the brown so drop agreeing in and get nicely on the

:52:51. > :52:53.brown. -- the green in. It looks like he is playing for the brown in

:52:54. > :53:07.the middle. This is where the naughtiness begins.

:53:08. > :53:14.He did what was necessary. Neil Robertson, I don't know about his

:53:15. > :53:19.chances, but he didn't ruined that frame and that was an excellent one

:53:20. > :53:37.from Judd Trump. He is in the lead again.

:53:38. > :53:52.That was an excellent safety shot. This time, Judd, who has a chance,

:53:53. > :53:58.perhaps he doesn't... I thought he had a chance of playing eight in one

:53:59. > :54:04.on to the black. He won't want to be disturbing the black from this

:54:05. > :54:11.position. Just a bit wary. There is a gap between the yellow and green

:54:12. > :54:14.to play this red. He will be sending it toward the right corner. If he

:54:15. > :54:18.tries to play safe up the one tied to the top cushion, if

:54:19. > :54:23.tries to play safe up the one tied to the top cushion, you catch these

:54:24. > :55:34.too thick. Tremendous. Well played. He's giving this plenty of ORT. He

:55:35. > :55:49.can get through to this red that is at the top of the cushion. The

:55:50. > :55:56.cueball goes nowhere. There is my old mate.

:55:57. > :56:29.Took a long time to decide on the shot and messed it up completely.

:56:30. > :56:39.That's putting it mildly. Opened the black up again. He obviously wasn't

:56:40. > :56:45.playing to pot. He needed the lot then than he did. -- needed it a lot

:56:46. > :56:54.then. Particularly when you're playing bit

:56:55. > :57:00.delicate little screws you've got to be careful on the superfine cloth

:57:01. > :57:08.that the cueball doesn't just slide away. I think there is a gap, that

:57:09. > :57:15.is what you be playing for. For the blue. Either blue or pink, he won't

:57:16. > :57:19.want to risk trying to play for the black.

:57:20. > :57:45.Pink a better choice than the blue. Could have gone funny on the blue.

:57:46. > :57:53.He has played that well. Obviously that had been straight he could have

:57:54. > :57:59.played for the red that's up and left of the pink. One of the more

:58:00. > :58:05.depth knowledge voter this corner and that will give him a good

:58:06. > :58:12.position on the black. Has he gone far enough? Yes. He is just about OK

:58:13. > :58:28.. For a split-2nd bed Neil Robertson

:58:29. > :58:54.would have been hoping by Judd Trump 's body movement that he got on it.

:58:55. > :58:55.winning line in this play, now. Neil Robertson came back in good fashion

:58:56. > :59:08.in the first few frames. It is Judd Trump who really has been

:59:09. > :59:12.winning their safety exchanges, which has turned this round

:59:13. > :59:14.slightly. It looks like Judd is going to win another two frames in a

:59:15. > :59:25.row. It wasn't so much the phone ring it

:59:26. > :00:11.was just such a bad ring tone. A nice angle on the black now. Play

:00:12. > :00:15.the runthrough. Disturbed these ones on the top cushion. He judged it to

:00:16. > :00:29.perfection. Already had three century breaks in

:00:30. > :00:33.the first five frames. The likelihood is we could see a fourth

:00:34. > :00:48.one here. The standard just gets higher and higher.

:00:49. > :00:56.I'd say it's an absolutely nailed on century.

:00:57. > :01:37.He has played the cannon and missed it. And got.

:01:38. > :01:45.May have to find the gap. He has taken his eye off it! It didn't

:01:46. > :02:02.really matter, no century, but another frame for Judd Trump. Once

:02:03. > :02:08.again, two frames in front. A little grimace as he played that, because

:02:09. > :02:10.it seems every time he plays off he leaves this pot for the corner. He

:02:11. > :02:21.has done it again. It is such a dangerous thing to do,

:02:22. > :02:28.with a potter of Neil Robertson's quality. With the black available

:02:29. > :02:36.into both corners, it is a decent chance. If you remember, in the

:02:37. > :02:43.frame after the midsession, he played the yellow, over screwed it,

:02:44. > :02:44.and went out of position. I think the positional side of this shot is

:02:45. > :03:44.a bit easier than it was. Just under screwed that a little

:03:45. > :03:49.bit. He would have liked to have been little bit straighter. The

:03:50. > :03:55.thing is, if he is straighter, he has more control of the cue ball. He

:03:56. > :03:59.has gone into it too much, not a great angle on the blue, it would be

:04:00. > :04:03.easier if he could play the blue. If he was right-handed the green would

:04:04. > :04:09.be the ball to play. He has run out of position. A good shot needed to

:04:10. > :04:36.keep this going. He has struck that beautifully. Now,

:04:37. > :05:15.back in position. Importing this red -- in potting, he

:05:16. > :05:21.should be able to open up some more into play. It looks like he has

:05:22. > :05:30.chosen the black, trusting to luck a bit, but I think he will settle for

:05:31. > :05:38.that. It was a very aggressive way of going about it. Just running

:05:39. > :05:44.through the black into the left corner, it wouldn't have been

:05:45. > :06:13.guaranteed. A fair bit of pressure on this black. Very nice.

:06:14. > :06:43.Is he on this red? Giving it the one eye.

:06:44. > :06:52.I sit at the time, when Judd Trump broke off he grimaced. That could be

:06:53. > :08:52.the only shot that he is going to get, now. In this frame. You have to

:08:53. > :09:03.try to get in behind the colours, and as you saw, the cue ball sort of

:09:04. > :09:24.hit the joint more or less on the volt line, and you don't cover the

:09:25. > :09:26.red that you hit out. It is hard to see Neil missing here. The standard

:09:27. > :09:57.is so high. He can make another 139 if he

:09:58. > :10:43.fancies it, which would give him a share of the prize plate. Still a

:10:44. > :10:55.good chance of another century. The cue dead in line with his right

:10:56. > :11:01.eye. Right-handed players are the left eye -- over the left eye. It is

:11:02. > :11:23.arguable whether that is nature or nurture.

:11:24. > :11:39.This will be Neil Robertson's second century in this match.

:11:40. > :11:48.Top-quality, even the break shot becomes a bit of a poisoned chalice

:11:49. > :11:54.if you don't get it right. No matter how good you are, if you are sat in

:11:55. > :12:01.that seat there is nothing you can do about it. He has already made the

:12:02. > :12:08.highest plate of the tournament, and now, he has won back, and Judd Trump

:12:09. > :12:35.leads 3-4. Trying to get the cue ball in behind

:12:36. > :12:44.the brown, not quite. Good length. Snooker would have been a better

:12:45. > :12:51.result for Neil. He has enough of the side of the pack to flick off,

:12:52. > :13:00.but the red is inviting, should he get it in, he has hit it well... But

:13:01. > :13:02.he hasn't got away with it. Although this is a lot more difficult than it

:13:03. > :13:36.looks on TV. He just has a slight angle, and he

:13:37. > :13:42.just has to leave its crate on the pink, which would be a nice run

:13:43. > :13:58.through for the black. First chance for Neil Robertson.

:13:59. > :14:10.The way these two players have been scoring today... You expect them to

:14:11. > :14:14.get sizeable breaks. He probably didn't want to play for the black,

:14:15. > :14:22.even though it is on a good angle for the blue. He could have done

:14:23. > :14:30.with a bit more angle than this, he just under hit that slightly. If he

:14:31. > :14:37.tries to go into the pink direct to play the canon, he will have to

:14:38. > :14:57.generate the pace. He might hit this hard. He couldn't have hit that any

:14:58. > :15:03.better and should have got more red s open. Count yourself lucky. Can he

:15:04. > :15:22.spot-on through the gap? If it goes, he can screw back for

:15:23. > :15:26.the black. He put his hand up to apologise to Judd after this thread

:15:27. > :15:41.went in, because basically he was lucky to find that plant. A bit of

:15:42. > :15:52.swings and roundabouts really, because he hit the blue so well, he

:15:53. > :15:57.could have opened up more reds. Will this be another frame winning

:15:58. > :16:04.combination? We have had so many here today, power snooker. This is

:16:05. > :16:14.why it is so hard to pick winners in these matches. The last three, Judd

:16:15. > :16:20.just broke off, but now Neill is in. It has gone slightly awkward,

:16:21. > :16:41.because I don't think the blue has gone to the middle, or does it? No,

:16:42. > :16:47.so a straightish green. He tried to get perfect on the red by the blue,

:16:48. > :17:04.and once again he played on the yellow earlier and over screwed up.

:17:05. > :17:11.He over screwed it by some distance. Good pot is needed here.

:17:12. > :17:20.How is the control of the cue ball? Not very good. He thought, pot the

:17:21. > :17:33.red, bound to be on the black, but he has overhit it slightly. Well...

:17:34. > :17:40.It looks like he is lining up the black, surely not. It is a monstrous

:17:41. > :17:51.blue to take on. Easy talking himself into the black? Top players

:17:52. > :17:56.are loath to cut their losses and play safe. Once they get amongst it

:17:57. > :18:00.they want to keep playing, but sometimes it is the right thing to

:18:01. > :18:02.do. It looks like he has a nice half will of the green to get the cue

:18:03. > :18:11.ball in behind the brown. He not only got the snooker, but got

:18:12. > :18:46.the green safe as well. It wasn't far away, but the only

:18:47. > :18:54.problem with that shot, it got almighty close to the pink coming

:18:55. > :19:01.off three cautions. He is frightened of nestling up to those, because he

:19:02. > :19:16.could leave a pot just to the right of the blue. As I say, he has got to

:19:17. > :19:18.get very close to the pink. So, that you would think is the end of this

:19:19. > :20:28.frame. It will be all square again. If he screwed it a little bit

:20:29. > :20:31.further than the line, it wouldn't cause a problem. You think he would

:20:32. > :20:46.be going for yellow here. Veretout macro red is just to the

:20:47. > :21:46.side. He is now in prime position. He signals that he has got to the

:21:47. > :21:52.required stage, and that pink going in means there is no way back to the

:21:53. > :22:02.table for Judd. It has been a topsy-turvy match. Judd Trump on the

:22:03. > :22:12.first two frames,, then Neil Robertson won the next two. It is

:22:13. > :22:14.getting more and more important, the target is six, and it will be four

:22:15. > :22:33.apiece. Still no real signs of who it may

:22:34. > :22:44.be. It doesn't matter about the red, so Judd Trump loses his two

:22:45. > :22:54.frame advantage. It is all to play for.

:22:55. > :23:06.Once again, he may have to dig down a little bit. The pot is difficult,

:23:07. > :23:15.it is around behind the black, and that is what makes the difference.

:23:16. > :23:19.Where is the red ball going? Well! It just shows the difference, that

:23:20. > :23:21.when he couldn't float in, he had to do a bit with the cue ball. First

:23:22. > :24:11.chance, Judd Trump. Beautiful. The perfect weight, hit

:24:12. > :24:19.soap crisply, to win arguably the most important frame of the match so

:24:20. > :24:38.far. Whoever wins this has two bites to get over the line.

:24:39. > :24:47.Early days, of course, but if you are going to place balls all over

:24:48. > :25:00.the table, there is always the possibility of 147. I think winning

:25:01. > :25:03.the frame is a prime concern first. I think Judd is disappointed he

:25:04. > :25:14.didn't get a better angle on this, there are other reds available, but

:25:15. > :25:17.they are missable. The one into the left corner would be the one to play

:25:18. > :25:24.for the black, but he feels like he can get on to the black quite

:25:25. > :25:31.easily. Slightly awkward cueing, there will be along Bridge, but he

:25:32. > :25:39.is happy he will be able to it,, so the screw through the gap between

:25:40. > :25:47.the two, is that what he's planning? Not a great shot. It went a bit

:25:48. > :25:54.awkward, it is hard to get the top spin, so if he sends his cue ball in

:25:55. > :26:01.and out, it will avoid... Possibly the green is the big locker. He

:26:02. > :26:06.decided just to roll it in and leave himself a good distance red. It is

:26:07. > :26:17.or is difficult to get the necessary top spin on that kind of shot. Right

:26:18. > :26:33.in the heart of a pocket. Never any doubt. This isn't a problem for him,

:26:34. > :26:39.I don't think it has judged the pace right. He got away with it a

:26:40. > :26:44.fraction. It looked for a moment that he would have nothing, but I

:26:45. > :26:55.think he has a choice. The one to the left maybe is the better. He is

:26:56. > :26:58.playing the one to the right. Right in the heart of the pocket, perfect

:26:59. > :27:24.position. He didn't get that in the middle of

:27:25. > :27:31.the pocket, a nice little nudge,. Is not resting much time -- wasting. He

:27:32. > :27:38.is letting his ability and natural talent to the work. This is what you

:27:39. > :27:50.practise for, so that when it comes to the match you can follow. Average

:27:51. > :28:07.shot time for Judd Trump is an astonishing 16 seconds per shot. He

:28:08. > :28:14.is just not finding perfect position at the moment, I have to say that.

:28:15. > :28:19.He should have been straighter on the pink. He played a black before

:28:20. > :28:24.that didn't go in the middle, and an unfortunate kiss on the red that

:28:25. > :28:37.left it on. You just feel that he is only a few pots... That is OK, but

:28:38. > :28:43.does the black go? If it doesn't, he will have to play the pink and there

:28:44. > :28:50.is pressure on this. If it goes in, it is a framework. If he misses it,

:28:51. > :28:57.a chance for Robertson to counter-attack. Tremendous shot!

:28:58. > :29:06.Absolutely top-class. We have seen some snooker today, Steve. The shot

:29:07. > :29:25.of the match so far. So easy to have missed that through tension. In goes

:29:26. > :29:36.the black. If you are thinking about it, Neil Robertson made a 139 in

:29:37. > :29:59.frame four, there is a possible 141 here.

:30:00. > :30:13.Going to assume he has done the maths. A marvellous performance here

:30:14. > :30:15.from Judd Trump. This is really going to set the next frame up

:30:16. > :30:32.nicely. If he can convert this into a

:30:33. > :30:41.century break it would be five centuries in nine frames.

:30:42. > :30:51.Superb shot. Could've just on a running past the pink but he be

:30:52. > :31:07.placed the red and the pinky still got 140.

:31:08. > :31:16.top sensational stuff from the juggernaut.

:31:17. > :31:27.For the highest break of the tournament. And he knows, because he

:31:28. > :31:30.sat in his chair and watch Neil Robertson make the 139 in the fourth

:31:31. > :31:45.frame. Right in the middle of the pocket.

:31:46. > :31:51.It was all this practice overt Christmas that Judd was talking

:31:52. > :32:00.about paying off here. Of course a double whammy for Neil

:32:01. > :32:04.Robertson. Not saying that this break will stand by the end of the

:32:05. > :32:10.tournament but he has more or less taken ?10,000. Out of Neil Robertson

:32:11. > :32:27.'s pocket, here. If he can pot the three remaining balls...

:32:28. > :32:38.Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! Judd Trump third surgery of the

:32:39. > :32:43.match and not only is it his third it is the highest break of the

:32:44. > :32:49.tournament. Absolutely tremendous and! Andy now one frame away from a

:32:50. > :33:08.place in the semi-final. Well, this looks like a better

:33:09. > :33:14.length of the break of shot. It made it more difficult with eight good

:33:15. > :33:19.length of cueball. -- a good length of cueball. There is a good length

:33:20. > :33:28.of shot to nothing about just rolling back into the left corner.

:33:29. > :33:34.Only being able to leave up, he spotted one into the opposite corner

:33:35. > :33:41.that was the same equation. Quite a way out there. I think he played the

:33:42. > :33:48.pot. It could have been a safety shot. I think he did play the pot.

:33:49. > :33:52.Probably making certain. The one thing he didn't want to be if he

:33:53. > :33:58.missed it was career into the reds. And there was time, wasn't it Webb

:33:59. > :34:10.to Robert in and get position on the black. -- to roll that in. He is

:34:11. > :34:18.going to win this vital safety battle.

:34:19. > :34:26.Potential for the black to get tied up a bit here. I thought he was

:34:27. > :34:40.going to play the pack. That was a far better shop. -- shot. Still

:34:41. > :34:45.could get a bit messy this frame. Neil Robertson has a big target

:34:46. > :35:02.behind the green and brown. Shifting reds around a bit.

:35:03. > :35:08.The escape down the right-hand side of the table. That gives Judd a

:35:09. > :35:12.slight problem. The obvious one is to come off the side cushion and

:35:13. > :35:20.just nestle into that little cluster of read just below the pink. --

:35:21. > :35:26.three. That's the one, but, it's one of those. You've just got to be

:35:27. > :35:28.careful you don't slide by. You've got to judge it to perfection. Is he

:35:29. > :35:45.going to reach? Does anything go? If it doesn't, he

:35:46. > :35:55.will have it replaced. There is a red just below the pink. There is a

:35:56. > :36:04.gap for it. It's definitely goes. Although he is not convinced. I have

:36:05. > :36:12.never been one for looking behind the pocket. A lot of players do like

:36:13. > :36:24.to check from that angle. So, he's got enough room to manoeuvre here.

:36:25. > :36:35.He just flicked the red but he still got it. He wins the safety exchange.

:36:36. > :37:21.And he gets first chance. Did inflict the red -- didn't flick.

:37:22. > :37:30.Not quite certain. He is obviously thinking about where the pinky is

:37:31. > :37:34.going to go. -- pink. I don't think there is a problem potting the pink

:37:35. > :37:42.and getting on the next red. Where does the pink go?

:37:43. > :37:52.It comfortably goes on its own spot. Is it available to the right corner?

:37:53. > :38:02.No. Not available. So, it is tied up, out of commission.

:38:03. > :38:12.He tried to stun across that the black and I don't think he's done it

:38:13. > :38:20.far enough over. Yes, that's a mistake. He caught that a bit

:38:21. > :38:21.thicker than he wanted. He had a bit more room to play with at the

:38:22. > :38:57.pocket. Big blue to take on now. He's got many balls save on the

:38:58. > :39:02.table. -- safe. Has he got an angle to be able to get on the black of

:39:03. > :39:08.the top cushion? It looks like he has. And of course potting this red

:39:09. > :39:16.Clisby blackspot. It could not have worked out any better. -- clears the

:39:17. > :39:20.blackspot. Don't tell me another century break? What a performance

:39:21. > :39:28.that would be. Blog this is just an incredible

:39:29. > :39:51.standard. -- well, this is. Didn't feel as though he could play

:39:52. > :39:55.for the black, there. Perfect on this blue.

:39:56. > :40:03.One thing he will want to try and avoid if he can is playing cannons

:40:04. > :40:08.because then it will go wrong. And the yellow, which is a straight

:40:09. > :40:13.line, which he could play, he has screwed that shot a couple of times

:40:14. > :40:15.so he is not in an ideal position. He is too wide on the blue to make

:40:16. > :40:29.this comfortable. Potting the blue and spring into the

:40:30. > :40:35.pack is trusting a bit to luck. It's difficult to see it Sackley those

:40:36. > :40:41.two reds above the black, how they are place. -- exactly. He is

:40:42. > :40:57.certainly out of position, that is for certain.

:40:58. > :41:10.I ashamed that this bottom red of the two won't be long. This is path,

:41:11. > :41:22.but I think he will get it. Well played. Such a high standard. You

:41:23. > :41:32.don't X X these players to miss the pressure shots. It has just been

:41:33. > :41:35.superb. -- expect. When you think they are going to wobble slightly

:41:36. > :42:14.they just come up with another tremendous shot.

:42:15. > :42:25.Short of ideal. He is going to have two lead himself further away and

:42:26. > :42:39.for the left-hander, a bit more difficult.

:42:40. > :43:06.World this time a slight angle on the blue. You would then keyword

:43:07. > :43:11.play to the red that is on the left-hand side of the table, here.

:43:12. > :43:29.-- you would think he would. I think he is just about OK to stun

:43:30. > :43:38.this in on the face of the black for the black in the same pocket. He has

:43:39. > :43:48.under hit it. A quick glance at the scoreboard, he still needs the

:43:49. > :43:55.black. And one more red. It's gone wrong.

:43:56. > :43:58.Still a good chance of getting the black but the position makes it

:43:59. > :44:20.harder. You just can't fault them, can you?

:44:21. > :44:29.An exhibition of snooker for the highest standard top and that was

:44:30. > :44:38.the ball that puts him 68 points in front with just 67 remaining. It is

:44:39. > :44:46.one chance snigger all the way. -- snooker. Whoever loses this match

:44:47. > :45:01.has got every right to kick the dressing room door in.

:45:02. > :45:09.A lovely pot. That means that judge will not be coming back to the

:45:10. > :45:11.table. We are definitely into a decider. It would be nice to see

:45:12. > :45:24.another century. Needs a good angle to split three

:45:25. > :46:10.reds up. Well, PT, no century. -- pity. I

:46:11. > :46:15.players are going to leave the arena. It is all square. We have got

:46:16. > :46:40.a deciding frame to look forward to. Who will it be? Hard to say.

:46:41. > :46:48.He may have left this red to the corner but the black is tied up so

:46:49. > :47:00.Neil Robertson won't be knocking one in off the brakes, here. -- break.

:47:01. > :47:12.This is path when you have to say that -- tough. Just to get it off

:47:13. > :47:17.the breeze. It is important. It's delighted to see how it has panned

:47:18. > :47:24.out. Early red into the ball carrier. Judge would really want to

:47:25. > :47:39.clear the black. It's a positive thing to do.

:47:40. > :47:47.-- Judd. It looks like this is going to turn into a bit of a tactical

:47:48. > :47:52.affair at this and of the table. A couple of seasons ago and would have

:47:53. > :48:04.David Neil Robertson in the situation. I think that judges

:48:05. > :48:10.all-round game has improved a lot. -- Judd's.

:48:11. > :48:16.Normally you would want to cover the red but with that other red being in

:48:17. > :48:22.that half of the table it wasn't that important.

:48:23. > :48:31.If Neil plays this red, which he is doing, and he doesn't leap the other

:48:32. > :48:38.red or a chance of it in the middle -- leave. That was a brisk. It could

:48:39. > :49:02.have gone in as easy as you like. Looking at the red into the middle

:49:03. > :49:10.pocket? He looked at it. Surely not. I don't think he could risk playing

:49:11. > :49:24.back to the baulk end. He still may be playing to the top cushion. He

:49:25. > :49:28.has tried it -- what a shot in! Opportunism at the very best and can

:49:29. > :49:41.he not this bike in? It is not ideal. -- black. If they are! What

:49:42. > :49:50.an opening red. It is a different kettle of this. -- fish.

:49:51. > :50:18.Reds are really tightly bunched but he's got a fantastic opportunity to

:50:19. > :50:21.get the absolute perfect angle on the blue. Just smash them all over

:50:22. > :50:40.the table. Pink spot available. All in line

:50:41. > :50:49.with the top of the cushion. Just taking those two reds that are close

:50:50. > :50:53.to the pink. Perfect angle on the red to get nicely on the blue. And

:50:54. > :50:58.here is the smash. It doesn't look as though there is a plant to one of

:50:59. > :51:07.the corners so he can go for this, full-blooded.

:51:08. > :51:17.Well a little too much backspin on the keyboard. The keyboard than just

:51:18. > :51:20.went a way. He could have stunned that. He has got a red but it is not

:51:21. > :51:36.straightforward. That was a brilliant shot. He can

:51:37. > :51:40.count himself a little bit lucky. He has lost the cue ball to the side

:51:41. > :51:43.cushion. The pressure pot on the blue, no guarantee of position,

:51:44. > :52:01.either. He needs to commit... How did that drop? ! It came out

:52:02. > :52:06.once and twice. Neil Robertson must've thought he'd missed it. I

:52:07. > :52:16.think Judd thought he'd missed it. The tension. Not in the centre, but

:52:17. > :52:22.it was still a good strike. And Judd Trump must be feeling the heat. This

:52:23. > :52:26.is so exciting. It doesn't look like he is feeling it, though

:52:27. > :52:49.It's a guilt edged chance now. That opens things up nicely. Play to

:52:50. > :52:55.superb throughout the match. Just got to hold himself together now for

:52:56. > :53:02.this last opportunity. What a fantastic exhibition of snooker from

:53:03. > :53:11.both players. Judd Trump now has the chance to so it up here and now. --

:53:12. > :53:20.sew. Judd Trump is trying to keep the

:53:21. > :53:28.nerves under wraps. There is his family.

:53:29. > :53:32.He's just looking like he is not going to miss but you never know.

:53:33. > :53:46.There is a twist in the tale. He has kept his rhythm up so well.

:53:47. > :53:52.Fair point. It is easy sometimes to over think a little bit in moments

:53:53. > :53:59.like this. But, he is obviously not perfect on this pink. Otherwise, he

:54:00. > :54:02.would have played it by now. There is his girlfriend. She is new to

:54:03. > :54:18.this game. A bit short of pace. First mistake.

:54:19. > :54:25.Neil Robertson playing close attention. He has spotted it. He'd

:54:26. > :54:37.be running into another red. Can you get position? If that Rose the

:54:38. > :54:46.middle it will be... -- goes. Neil Robertson fearing the worst. A bit

:54:47. > :54:53.fortunate there. Another mistake! Surely he has not snookered

:54:54. > :54:58.himself? He needs one more red. And a colour. He has got to cut into the

:54:59. > :55:06.left corner or he would be tempted by swerving that. You can't

:55:07. > :55:08.believe, I mean, Judd can believe when he rolled the black in he was

:55:09. > :55:19.going to nudge the blue. That's what he needs now. The blue.

:55:20. > :55:23.He dropped one in like this before but merely stayed out. This is the

:55:24. > :55:30.blue. He dropped one in like this before but merely stayed out. This

:55:31. > :55:36.to no problem this time! What a match this has been! One of the

:55:37. > :55:41.greatest games we have ever seen in Masters history. Or any other

:55:42. > :55:46.tournament I've ever seen. You can see him shaking like a leaf on that.

:55:47. > :55:52.How well do he performed to get over the winning line? There is a

:55:53. > :55:59.reaction. That's what it meant to him. Now he just needs to compose

:56:00. > :56:08.himself enrolled this red Eden. And that will be it! There was no way

:56:09. > :56:12.back for Neil Robertson now. He has been the player of the season by

:56:13. > :56:23.Judd Trump has proven when he is on form he can beat anybody. And it has

:56:24. > :56:27.taken Judd a performance of this magnitude to knock Neil Robertson

:56:28. > :56:33.out of his winning ways. Fair point. Neil Robertson most of the season

:56:34. > :56:40.has been looking unfeasible. But, this boy is so talented. As I say,

:56:41. > :56:44.the world championship last season, he lost in the semi-final to Stuart

:56:45. > :56:52.Ring, I thought his all-round game would just come up a notch or two.

:56:53. > :56:59.He wasn't attacking all the time. Which was probably a bit of a

:57:00. > :57:06.weakness. -- Stuart Bingham. Now just busting the eyes and crossing

:57:07. > :57:11.the Tees. Six centuries in 11 frames, what a strike rate that is.

:57:12. > :57:15.Unbelievable. And for frames for Judd if he can do it. -- format.

:57:16. > :57:43.What a strike! As good a break as you will see to

:57:44. > :57:50.win a match. The opening red was the perp and to hold himself together --

:57:51. > :57:56.superb. What a credit to this player. Yes, if he was suffering

:57:57. > :58:00.from a slight lack of confidence coming into this tournament, he

:58:01. > :58:09.won't any more. He is the real deal. There is no doubt about that. And,

:58:10. > :58:13.as we say, it's taking this type of performance to beat Neil Robertson.

:58:14. > :58:19.His fourth century of the match! It has been absolutely sensational. And

:58:20. > :58:25.a standing ovation to everybody in the powers for one of the greatest

:58:26. > :58:31.matches you have ever seen -- Alexandra Palace. Judd Trump, I take

:58:32. > :58:36.my hat off to you! What a great performance. Neil Robertson was good

:58:37. > :58:44.but Judd Trump was just a little bit better. He is in the semi-final. He

:58:45. > :58:50.wins a classic six frames divide. One of the great matches in Masters

:58:51. > :58:55.history. Congratulations to Judd Trump he will now take on Barry

:58:56. > :58:59.Hawkins in the final. You can watch this at one o'clock on BBC One.
