:00:34. > :00:40.Hello, a good afternoon to you and welcome back to the 20 17th Dafabet
:00:41. > :00:44.masters. The crowd here at Ally Pally have been treated to some top
:00:45. > :00:48.snooker. On Sunday, Ronnie O'Sullivan was
:00:49. > :00:49.through to the quarterfinals. But yesterday, two former world
:00:50. > :01:07.champions were knocked out. What can he do here? And easy
:01:08. > :01:23.safety. The pot wins you the frame. The pot brings you
:01:24. > :01:45.begins doing his impression of Mark Allen.
:01:46. > :01:56.He didn't want to risk it. It is there anyway. It's in. What a great
:01:57. > :01:59.match. John Higgins gives him a warm congratulations.
:02:00. > :02:14.Mark Allen wins 6-5. Look at that shot as well. I will
:02:15. > :02:19.tell you what, you will not see many better centuries than this, that's
:02:20. > :02:24.for sure. Well played, Joe Perry. He will attempt the double into the
:02:25. > :02:31.pocket. He has played the doubles.
:02:32. > :02:58.132 from Stuart Bingham. Highest break of the tournament so far.
:02:59. > :03:03.Fabulous stuff from Gentleman Joe. The Black For A Place In The
:03:04. > :03:09.Quarterfinals. It's There. Joe Perry Has Caused A Big Upset In The
:03:10. > :03:13.Dafabet Masters. He beats the world champion 6-1.
:03:14. > :03:19.An excellent performance from Joe Perry. Two of champions in the
:03:20. > :03:24.studio as we look forward to Judd Trump against Marco Fu. Good
:03:25. > :03:29.afternoon. The reason we are at the table here is we are going to look
:03:30. > :03:32.back at rather an unusual scenario yesterday, where we have two we
:03:33. > :03:41.spotted blacks, and two contrasting styles. Let's look at how Stuart
:03:42. > :03:45.Bingham played his shot. This is the modern way of playing
:03:46. > :03:53.it. He is trying to play it on to the side cushion, that is the modern
:03:54. > :04:02.way to do it. That is new school. Old School is John Higgins. He plays
:04:03. > :04:08.the double is tight to the top cushion as possible. If he misses
:04:09. > :04:15.the yellow pocket, he doesn't believe it over the middle pocket
:04:16. > :04:17.with a pot on. It was shot. We are going to play a couple of shots for
:04:18. > :04:20.you. You will play the first that we saw.
:04:21. > :04:29.What are the advantages? The advantage is, in the old way,
:04:30. > :04:36.they would go up and down the spots. But the cushions are softener, you
:04:37. > :04:46.might leave a shot on. The more modern way, you get a black tight to
:04:47. > :04:48.the right-hand cushion. It is a really difficult shot come
:04:49. > :04:51.back. The only problem is, as long as you
:04:52. > :04:55.don't leave the double to the middle pocket of corner, that is the chance
:04:56. > :05:00.you take. But if you get it right, it puts the
:05:01. > :05:06.onus on your opponent. It is quite a clever shot. Something like that.
:05:07. > :05:12.It never leaves you. No doubt, the nerves jangling as
:05:13. > :05:19.well is that a difficult shot. I will try to play it the other way.
:05:20. > :05:24.I will play the double that John Higgins play. He didn't bash it and
:05:25. > :05:28.go up and down, it was a controlled chance. A chance to knock it in, but
:05:29. > :05:34.if you miss, you can leave it safe. We will see if we can do that. Not
:05:35. > :05:38.there. Not in the pocket, but I would be
:05:39. > :05:42.happy with that. The flat here, you have left that
:05:43. > :05:52.on. OK, off you go! LAUGHTER
:05:53. > :05:57.Does your decision-making dependent on waking or in the match? At that
:05:58. > :06:00.point, with John Higgins, it was 4-4.
:06:01. > :06:05.I would be in the opinion that if I was in the lead, and somebody had
:06:06. > :06:11.come back to me. If the opponent have come back, I would have played
:06:12. > :06:18.the John Higgins doubles. John Higgins at Mark Allen under more
:06:19. > :06:31.pressure. Put the onus back on your opponent. He will view them.
:06:32. > :06:41.It could have a big bearing on the game. You could play for an hour, it
:06:42. > :06:43.can make a massive change. Our match for you is Judd Trump against Marco
:06:44. > :06:50.Fu. Let's look ahead to the character heads.
:06:51. > :07:02.This afternoon is in Judd Trump's favour, because Marco Fu, he has a
:07:03. > :07:06.poor record against Trump, two wins am, that went down to the final
:07:07. > :07:12.frame. We would like more of that today, please.
:07:13. > :07:16.Every time we turn up at major tournaments, we talk about Judd
:07:17. > :07:24.Trump, and we ask if it is his year. That he make the final this year.
:07:25. > :07:27.You would expect so. Any of the top players he is capable of beating,
:07:28. > :07:35.but he hasn't performed here, for some reason. The next might might be
:07:36. > :07:39.a different player. It will be an interesting match because Marco Fu
:07:40. > :07:47.is in form after winning before at Christmas. It will be very close. In
:07:48. > :07:53.October, Judd won the Masters. It can give you huge confidence.
:07:54. > :07:58.It absolutely does. He played one of the best matches I have ever seen at
:07:59. > :08:01.this venue to beat Neil Robertson, 6-5 will stop you played the
:08:02. > :08:18.semifinal the next day and he was flat. When he is at his
:08:19. > :08:24.He has gone through peaks and troughs, but scoring - wise, one of
:08:25. > :08:39.the best in the world. A bit of doubt eradicate it. If
:08:40. > :08:44.Marco makes the quarterfinal does he need to get on the front foot early?
:08:45. > :08:49.I think he needs do what he has been doing. There has been very few
:08:50. > :08:53.players on the circuit who have been as consistent as he is. The players
:08:54. > :08:57.know how good he is, the British public might not look a him as a
:08:58. > :09:01.Ronnie O'Sullivan or Neil Robertson, this boy is a proper player. You
:09:02. > :09:04.underestimate him at your peril. It is moments like this where
:09:05. > :09:12.presenters put you on the spot. Who are you going to go for? 6-5 Marco.
:09:13. > :09:25.I will go 6-5 Judd to make it even. We are the BBC in terms of balance.
:09:26. > :09:31.Good afternoon it has been one of the highest quality starts to any
:09:32. > :09:35.Dafabet masters in history. Every player has produced at least one
:09:36. > :09:36.century and we are set for another rocking afternoon here at Ally
:09:37. > :10:00.Pally. Please welcome, a player making his
:10:01. > :10:03.11th appearance at the Masters. Runner-up six years ago,
:10:04. > :10:08.semifinalist at the UK Championships last month. He went to Glasgow and
:10:09. > :10:12.in spectacular fashion from 4-1 beat John Higgins for the Scottish Open.
:10:13. > :10:20.He is in form, he is here and he is ready, from Hong Kong. Marco Fu.
:10:21. > :10:50.And his opponent, arguably the most exciting player of his sqrenration,
:10:51. > :10:53.winner of six ranking titles including the China open and this
:10:54. > :11:00.season's European Masters, twice a semifinalist here at the Masters,
:11:01. > :11:10.here it comes with his own brand of naughty snooker, the Ace in the
:11:11. > :11:12.Pack, Judd Trump. Generation, winner of six ranking
:11:13. > :11:12.titles including the China open and this season's
:11:13. > :11:26.APPLAUSE APPLAUSE
:11:27. > :11:32.It is another wonderful atmosphere here. We are ready for this, live on
:11:33. > :11:37.BBC Two. It is Judd Trump versus Marco Fu. Let us enjoy this one in
:11:38. > :11:42.the company of Denis Taylor and Steve Davis.
:11:43. > :11:49.COMMENTATOR: Thank you very much, Jason. And as you said, a terrific
:11:50. > :11:56.atmosphere again at the Alexandra Palace. Judd won the toss, and a
:11:57. > :12:19.pretty good break of shot. The white tight on the baulk cushion.
:12:20. > :12:28.Well, he could see enough of it, but it's all safe, though. It will take
:12:29. > :12:34.the players a while to get used to the table. It is very fast. But it
:12:35. > :12:40.looks to be playing beautifully. Very responsive. You don't have to
:12:41. > :12:51.hit the ball is too hard to get them where you want -- balls.
:12:52. > :13:01.Straightaway, we might have an awkward frame with that red up the
:13:02. > :13:02.other end of the table. It would be an early stalemate, it would have to
:13:03. > :14:02.be said. It really. Marco is in form, so that
:14:03. > :14:13.counts for a lot. This is a tough shot he is taking on here. Almost.
:14:14. > :14:18.Where is the red button to? Is the ribbon and brown going to come to
:14:19. > :14:26.his rescue? I think he has covered both the reds. A bit of a result
:14:27. > :14:29.there. A rest with the Mac. He almost got it up. He covered both
:14:30. > :14:49.the bid. APPLAUSE
:14:50. > :14:53.Had been given for playing some kind of containment. There, but did play
:14:54. > :15:15.an aggressive shot. This isn't so. Red at the bottom of the pack goes
:15:16. > :15:42.now, so... Thought he was hampered by it as well.
:15:43. > :15:52.Well that was an unexpected miss, he had to put quite a bit of power in
:15:53. > :15:58.that. He didn't deliver the cue as smoothly as he would have liked. The
:15:59. > :16:09.cue coming off his hand there. Not the greatest part of his game.
:16:10. > :16:13.No problem for Judd Trump with the power game. He does get some action
:16:14. > :16:24.on the cue ball. That is for sure, and that was quite a difficult shot.
:16:25. > :16:30.He just pulled off there. The pot wasn't all that difficult
:16:31. > :16:31.but it is not the pocket, and, you know, cue action there to draw that
:16:32. > :16:52.cue ball back. APPLAUSE
:16:53. > :17:04.What a fantastic shot that was. A chance, if he wants, to go into the
:17:05. > :17:12.pack of the side cushion. APPLAUSE He has got everything he deserved
:17:13. > :17:22.here. Fantastic shots he pulled out. Oh, just about. I thought for a
:17:23. > :17:28.minute it would stay there. Just with that one shot potting the
:17:29. > :17:36.brown, he has opened up the whole of the game here. A chance for Judd to
:17:37. > :18:02.knock in a sizeable contribution here.
:18:03. > :18:10.A little bit of body movement on the last shot as he struck the ball.
:18:11. > :18:28.Trying to keep his head as still as possible.
:18:29. > :18:38.Yes, quite a difficult thing to do, especially on a power shot, to keep
:18:39. > :18:42.everything perfectly still. I think Marco moves a little bit on
:18:43. > :18:47.the shot when he delivers a cue as well. It's just a mannerism. Judd
:18:48. > :18:51.moves to the side a bit as he strikes the ball.
:18:52. > :19:00.We know that his cue doesn't go through in a dead straight line.
:19:01. > :19:06.It is just a pure, natural player, Judd Trump, just a natural snookered
:19:07. > :19:11.talent. He is making very light work of this, though.
:19:12. > :19:14.Very nice to watch. And he seems to have the pace of the table very
:19:15. > :19:35.quickly. -- snooker talents. The frame is virtually over. Marco
:19:36. > :19:41.with that one mistake, and you can't afford to miss blacks off the spot.
:19:42. > :19:44.He was playing traverse side, Judd is switching hands, he is very good
:19:45. > :19:49.with his opposite hand as well. Not quite in the league of Ronnie
:19:50. > :20:03.O'Sullivan, but he is very good with his opposite hand.
:20:04. > :20:14.Every chance now of making a century. It is going to be very,
:20:15. > :20:28.very difficult. But that is what he can just concentrate now. He's made
:20:29. > :20:32.a few centuries in his career, 422. I wonder if he will switch hands
:20:33. > :20:40.again here. Yeah. He's hampered also with the
:20:41. > :20:44.blue. And might be able to develop the last red, and could possibly
:20:45. > :21:22.make a century if this works out. Well, it opponent 's deck -- for a
:21:23. > :21:26.basic mistake. Yeah, the highest break in this year's Dafabet Masters
:21:27. > :21:37.was made last evening by Stuart Bingham, but he lost to Joe Perry
:21:38. > :21:41.6-1. But what a start for the Juggernaut as they call him.
:21:42. > :21:45.You are playing the table, not just your opponent. It seems like against
:21:46. > :21:52.certain opponents you have a good record, and some you don't. Perhaps
:21:53. > :21:54.Judd fancies the job today. Century number ten in this year's
:21:55. > :22:09.Masters. APPLAUSE It doesn't matter about the blue. He
:22:10. > :22:14.got one chance and that was all he needed. A magnificent century break
:22:15. > :23:22.gives Judd Trump the opening frame. It's 1-0.
:23:23. > :23:30.Very asking people to take seats. If you plate, was there. -- the
:23:31. > :23:52.referee. This looks like a pretty good break
:23:53. > :23:56.of shot from Marco Fu. There might be a gap between blue and pink to
:23:57. > :24:04.flick the reds and get back down the table.
:24:05. > :24:19.Now, I think he may have been lucky. He could have left something a lot
:24:20. > :24:26.easier than this. A horrible situation for Marco Fu. I
:24:27. > :24:34.am not too sure what he can do, really. Very low value trying to cut
:24:35. > :24:38.this red in. As long as he can get his cube download enough, perhaps he
:24:39. > :24:47.has a chance. I thought he would have two Jack up in the air.
:24:48. > :24:52.He is just about holding it. APPLAUSE
:24:53. > :24:53.That would have been very difficult had he been up in the air on that
:24:54. > :26:09.shot. Yeah, as the boys mentioned just
:26:10. > :26:16.before the match started, about his win in the Scottish Masters against
:26:17. > :26:23.John Higgins. 4-1 down, but beating John 9-4. John one of the form
:26:24. > :26:40.players of the season. He really is a superb player, Marco.
:26:41. > :26:47.Still a couple of potential banana skin is going about this break, so
:26:48. > :26:54.he has had to play for these reds on the top cushion. Not so much of a
:26:55. > :27:00.pocket to aim for a long a cushion, obviously. He would like to be high
:27:01. > :27:16.on this black. Doesn't really want to be straight.
:27:17. > :27:27.That's his fourth black. It's a bit early yet, but he has
:27:28. > :27:36.made four maximum breaks in his career, Marco.
:27:37. > :27:45.He made a maximum two years ago in the Masters, but I will never forget
:27:46. > :27:54.his first in Scotland. He won a motorcar for the Masters. I think it
:27:55. > :27:57.was the Scottish open, I think it was, and he won a motorcar, and he
:27:58. > :28:04.didn't even have a licence. Once again, he isn't really
:28:05. > :28:11.correctly on this black. It would have helped him out now in. Now he
:28:12. > :28:18.will possibly play a slightly riskier shot. He got a flick on that
:28:19. > :28:22.red. It was difficult to get high on that thread from that position. As
:28:23. > :28:29.you can see, very difficult to get too much speed on the cue ball from
:28:30. > :28:30.there. He will go straight into the yellow pocket. This would now be a
:28:31. > :28:51.147 chance if this goes in. APPLAUSE And now the crowd acknowledge that
:28:52. > :28:58.this is a potential chance for a maximum. The round of applause he
:28:59. > :29:04.had for the red. He doesn't have to go into the pack
:29:05. > :29:15.that quickly here. There's a few reds, when potted,
:29:16. > :29:17.will open up paths for other reds. He has left himself to straight on
:29:18. > :29:39.the black on a few occasions. Putting this red, he will leave
:29:40. > :29:45.himself a bit of an angle on the black. It might be time to go into
:29:46. > :29:52.the pack off this next black. Oh Filip
:29:53. > :30:01.I think he knew immediately. Watch his head. He was straight up. He
:30:02. > :30:02.knew he didn't hit that one correctly. Every chance of a counter
:30:03. > :30:29.attack now. You can see what that miss meant to
:30:30. > :30:34.Marco there. But he has left himself awkward here. It looks to be pretty
:30:35. > :30:38.straight, but with his cue power, this is the sort of shot that Marco
:30:39. > :30:42.missed in the opening frame, screwing back to reverse side.
:30:43. > :30:47.Probably more difficult than that. And this red goes at the back in to
:30:48. > :30:52.the left of the little group of reds. It is a very responsive pot
:30:53. > :31:16.but he made that look easy. Wouldn't put it past him to nick in
:31:17. > :31:22.frame. He is cueing well, walking round the table, looks very
:31:23. > :31:25.focussed, if that red the bottom of the four goes. That opens things up
:31:26. > :31:48.nicely. A bit too far? That is very tight indeed, he has
:31:49. > :31:58.got the other one, which is slightly more difficult. This is thinner than
:31:59. > :32:10.it looks on the TV though. Well played.
:32:11. > :32:15.Tough shot from the jaw, has he got enough angle? He has the slightest
:32:16. > :32:21.of angles and the red that he didn't quite get on, he has to punch it in
:32:22. > :32:30.to get to the correct angle. Which he has done, and he played that
:32:31. > :32:42.perfectly. He is on it this time. How well did he strike that. But as
:32:43. > :32:46.you mentioned a long time ago, the reds were all clearing each other
:32:47. > :32:53.and it is proving the case. He didn't have any cannons to play. As
:32:54. > :33:04.one was potted, it left a path for another. Excellent shot there to get
:33:05. > :33:09.once again high on that red. Doesn't need to collide with any other reds
:33:10. > :33:13.here. This could be an early turning point
:33:14. > :33:18.in this match, because Marco looked to be well on his way to taking the
:33:19. > :33:25.frame, he was concentrating on all blacks. Apart from that one shot he
:33:26. > :33:31.played where he misjudged the pace. Most of the time, he has been very
:33:32. > :33:37.fine in control. Now he can be low on this red to go up the table for
:33:38. > :33:40.one of the baulk colours, he has gone a massive favourite in in frame
:33:41. > :33:59.now, a big steal. -- in this frame. What a frame to pinch this is, he
:34:00. > :34:02.looks so good. Certainly in that opening frame, he is cueing really
:34:03. > :34:40.well. Well, what a cracking frame of
:34:41. > :34:48.snooker, the second frame is turning out to be.
:34:49. > :34:56.Marco Fu on all blacks. Missed one and Judd Trump stepped in and played
:34:57. > :35:00.the remaining balls with that magnificent break of 87. Now he
:35:01. > :35:05.leads two frames to nil. What a start this is from Judd Trump Ken,
:35:06. > :35:11.but Marco will be sitting thinking I was on a break of 56. I miss That
:35:12. > :35:15.red and we talked before this game started, that Marco has to get on
:35:16. > :35:20.the front foot He was chasing the 147. He was up off the shot. Very
:35:21. > :35:24.disappointed, but not only that, like he made a 56 break but Judd
:35:25. > :35:30.Trump took the balls to win the frame from that position. Came out
:35:31. > :35:35.with cracking pots and positional shots, and cueing sublime at the
:35:36. > :35:40.moment. Marco, he will be ruing that missed red because the frame is at
:35:41. > :35:45.his mercy, that is what we say, make sure the frame first, but it was a
:35:46. > :35:50.bad pot. The standard we have got right now, what have we had? Nine of
:35:51. > :35:58.the players have made century breaks so far, look like we are on for ten.
:35:59. > :36:02.It is fantastic quality. The top 16 players in the world, you expect a
:36:03. > :36:06.high quality from round one, and like, you have to realise that every
:36:07. > :36:09.match is almost, would be perfect for a final, you know, because that
:36:10. > :36:13.is the way it is matched up. Players are playing a lot of good form and
:36:14. > :36:17.Marco has come into the tournament with good form but he will be up
:36:18. > :36:23.against it now. Terrific standard Denis. Unbelievable Jason. Marco is
:36:24. > :36:28.just a couple of shots that have cost him. It would have to be, you
:36:29. > :36:33.say a tale of two black, you can't afford to miss these, playing to
:36:34. > :36:40.screw back and in fact the second was a red he missed on that maximum
:36:41. > :36:45.break, but, there were two fairly comfortable pots, OK, he wanted to
:36:46. > :36:49.drop it in to stay on the black, but, that he knew straightaway
:36:50. > :36:54.there, that the form that Judd was showing he could lose the frame.
:36:55. > :36:58.You have a situation where even if you come into a tournament as a
:36:59. > :37:05.inwith e you still stamp your authority on the next match you
:37:06. > :37:10.play, so, not too sure that Marco Fu sitting in his chair is
:37:11. > :37:11.super-confident as he was the moment he potted the final balls up in
:37:12. > :37:27.Scotland. A bit of a weak break off from Judd
:37:28. > :37:31.Trump. Got to be careful though, Marco, he has to pot this, because
:37:32. > :37:36.there is a gap round the back of the black but he could cannon into a
:37:37. > :37:45.red, so he has to pot this, you would feel. Well, he just missed
:37:46. > :37:51.that red on the right. And you would say he is OK, but with Judd Trump at
:37:52. > :37:57.the table, you are never sure, as we show you the red, just wobble in the
:37:58. > :38:01.jaws. This one that he is looking at, is very very difficult. This red
:38:02. > :38:06.is a long way up the cushion, to be powering it in, he had a look at it.
:38:07. > :38:15.I think he is probably choosing the right shot. The movement to our left
:38:16. > :38:23.which makes his cue go across to the left as well. Well. Across the face
:38:24. > :38:27.of the ball. Amazing how it happens. One of the great Welsh player, we
:38:28. > :38:32.will show you the movement to the side. One of the great Welsh players
:38:33. > :38:36.used to move forward a bit. Doug Mountjoy, not too well at the
:38:37. > :38:42.moment, Doug, if you are watching get well soon. I know he likes to go
:38:43. > :38:46.into Mark Williams club and practise every day, not the best at the
:38:47. > :39:43.moment, but I am sure he will bounce straight back. Knowing Doug.
:39:44. > :39:56.Not easy to put your opponent in a lot of trouble here. Unless of
:39:57. > :40:01.course you could somehow find... I don't want to say anything now! Not
:40:02. > :40:05.sure what he was doing there, very aggressive. Obviously going for the
:40:06. > :40:10.pot but misjudged it by some way, thought he could get round the back
:40:11. > :40:13.of the black but he hit it too far thick. Almost a safety shot behind
:40:14. > :41:03.the yellow was the way forward. Nice if the pink doesn't spot for
:41:04. > :41:15.Marco. There is his answer. Mustn't be touching that red. When the balls
:41:16. > :41:20.are set up at the start of the match, with the triangle of balls
:41:21. > :41:29.and the red at the apex of the pin, that mustn't be touching.
:41:30. > :41:34.Interesting, wasn't it. You always are, Steve, very interesting. That
:41:35. > :41:39.was a pretty poor positional shot from Marco, he was trying to get on
:41:40. > :41:42.the blue in such a way he could have cannoned into the pink and reds but
:41:43. > :41:49.he left himself straight on the blue. Can he make a better job of it
:41:50. > :41:56.this time? Well, he decided to roll through for the black. Doesn't want
:41:57. > :42:00.to be straight. If he has an angle he might get out to a red. Look at
:42:01. > :42:06.that, he is really going to have to force that one in. That is the trap.
:42:07. > :42:15.The trap no snooker player likes. He done very well there.
:42:16. > :42:22.We say sometimes Marco lacks a bit of power, he got it all right there
:42:23. > :42:26.on that shot. Giving himself a chance to keep this
:42:27. > :42:48.going. Albeit with a spider.
:42:49. > :43:01.I think the thing that stands Marco in good stead, he has a fabulous
:43:02. > :43:09.temperament. But that is a shocker he has played there.
:43:10. > :43:14.The only possible way keeping the break going now, is, as we show you
:43:15. > :43:17.the poor positional shot, in fact the double is not even on. If he had
:43:18. > :43:21.a chance he could have doubled that red and wouldn't have left anything.
:43:22. > :43:28.What has he spotted, not a plant coming to the rescue, surely? Oh,
:43:29. > :43:41.what a bonus this is. What a bonus, if this goes in. And there it is.
:43:42. > :44:09.A lot lucky, really. Now, looks to be in a nice position. To try and
:44:10. > :44:13.make amends for that last frame. Judd will be sitting in his chair, a
:44:14. > :44:29.bit aggrieved, really. He has to take full advantage of to
:44:30. > :44:32.that good fortune when suddenly the plant appeared.
:44:33. > :44:42.Doesn't want to do what he did in the previous frame.
:44:43. > :44:47.Nice little nudge to get the pink into the action as well.
:44:48. > :44:56.Increasing his positional possibilities.
:44:57. > :45:03.You have to fancy him from this position, Denis.
:45:04. > :45:19.He would have to do something careless or have a kick.
:45:20. > :45:22.Nis. He would have to do something
:45:23. > :45:31.careless or have a kick. They are not hanging about. They are coming
:45:32. > :45:36.up to the half hour mark. Third frame, almost over. 13 seconds?
:45:37. > :45:53.Average shot time? Incredible. You see, 64 ahead, so, one more red
:45:54. > :46:02.and anything above the yellow will be enough to leave Judd needing a
:46:03. > :46:15.snooker, a quick glance at the score board. He had a bash at that. I
:46:16. > :46:24.don't think he needed to... It seemed like he hit that harder than
:46:25. > :46:30.needed to. I couldn't agree more, Steve. He didn't even get enough
:46:31. > :46:34.screw on it, to, no wonder he was shaking his head.
:46:35. > :46:40.Is he going to pay for that mistake? It is not as easy this time, he is
:46:41. > :46:45.still a strong favourite the way the balls are situated, but the frame
:46:46. > :46:52.should have been over. This would a steal. It is not so bad with these
:46:53. > :46:57.reds on the left-hand side cushion, for Judd Trump being a left-hander.
:46:58. > :47:14.Obviously Marco Fu is hoping they will cause a problem.
:47:15. > :47:27.One or two good shots away from making that relatively easy
:47:28. > :47:31.clearance. Play for the open red there and
:47:32. > :47:38.probably going to leave himself an angle to knock that second red away?
:47:39. > :47:52.Well, he has done it with that shot. I, like you, thought he would play
:47:53. > :48:00.on the black and cannon that out but Judd had other ideas.
:48:01. > :48:07.Every ball going in the middle of the pocket at the moment. He is
:48:08. > :48:11.looking very confident. And now, as long as he gets a good
:48:12. > :48:20.angle on this pink, he should be able to swing across nicely for the
:48:21. > :48:22.red in the corner, screw back for the blue. He wasn't on the pink
:48:23. > :48:44.properly. Thought he had an angle. Yes, if he can get nicely anywhere
:48:45. > :48:49.in that circle being a left-hander it would be perfect. He had an angle
:48:50. > :48:56.on the brown to get over to that position.
:48:57. > :49:04.This looks pretty good. Looks very good.
:49:05. > :49:12.I said Marco Fu had a terrific temperament, if he loses this frame,
:49:13. > :49:19.what a test that will be, because he should have won this frame, and he
:49:20. > :49:23.should have won the frame before. He has played this very nicely, that is
:49:24. > :49:28.the only thing that could have gone wrong there, that blue to yellow.
:49:29. > :49:33.I say the only thing, obviously other things can, but the way he has
:49:34. > :49:37.cued so far, he has made very light work of this, and it is is a massive
:49:38. > :49:40.steal, so much more than the last frame.
:49:41. > :49:46.He looks very comfortable on the table
:49:47. > :49:53.There will be one more frame gfr mid-session interval. Marco will
:49:54. > :49:58.need that badly. He hasn't lost this one yet but you
:49:59. > :49:59.can't see Judd making a mistake, the way he is cue, it is just
:50:00. > :50:15.straightforward. Well, knowing the significance of
:50:16. > :50:19.this frame, you could be forgiven for being nervous, but so far not
:50:20. > :50:26.too Mitch never, a bit out of position.
:50:27. > :50:34.-- not too much nerves. Just this black.
:50:35. > :50:41.Well, it's happened again, Marco Fu had a magnificent break of 64.
:50:42. > :50:45.Missed a sitter of a red and he had to sit and watch Judd Trump come to
:50:46. > :50:51.the table, and clear up, and take the third frame. It is 3-0.
:50:52. > :50:56.JASON MOHAMMAD: that feeling for Marco Fu, 35 minutes played and he
:50:57. > :51:01.is 3-0. This is scintillating stuff from Judd Trump. Absolute class.
:51:02. > :51:06.That was sell vanesque, a that is the best thing. He thought this will
:51:07. > :51:10.be a good clear rarns. He still had a lot of work to do, but his cue
:51:11. > :51:15.ball in that break was magnificent. To an inch all the way through and a
:51:16. > :51:17.deserved win in that frame from a brilliant clearance. I don't know
:51:18. > :51:22.whether Judd Trump has somewhere to to go, he is making short work of
:51:23. > :51:26.this. 14 seconds a shot. That is unheard of. Like roller skates on
:51:27. > :51:31.him! Clearance was class, there is no doubt about that. Marco Fu on the
:51:32. > :51:35.other hand, he will be kicking himself, he has missed two easy reds
:51:36. > :51:39.that cost him two frames, look at this. He only needs this red and
:51:40. > :51:44.another colour. He tried to hit it with power. Steve said he didn't
:51:45. > :51:49.enjoyed to do that. Has he hit that too hard. He hit it thick, so it
:51:50. > :51:54.looks worse. I can understand saying he hit it hard, it looks like he hit
:51:55. > :51:58.it hard, at the same time and it has been the case, the priority is knock
:51:59. > :52:03.the ball in, play the next shot. He didn't do that. He came up off the
:52:04. > :52:08.shot on the big, the more or less the frame-winning ball and he has to
:52:09. > :52:11.stay down, normally, so still on the shot, but his head was coming up. He
:52:12. > :52:16.has to cut that out. How much of that is down to the fact he knows he
:52:17. > :52:23.was on a good break of 56, missed that red. It is playing on his mind.
:52:24. > :52:28.Maybe he has not settled. Maybe that is the case, listen, Marco Fu the
:52:29. > :52:34.way he has played in the last 12 months he hasn't missed many of
:52:35. > :52:38.those reds. Judd Trump beat Marco Fu 5-1. He on for another thrashing.
:52:39. > :52:49.-- is he on for another thrashing? DENNIS TAYLOR: Look at this. Average
:52:50. > :52:55.shot time confirming it. 13 seconds. I mean, there is the-of-where rang
:52:56. > :53:09.frame time. -- there is the average frame time. Just over 11 minutes.
:53:10. > :53:14.And Judd's had a century. Marco 64. Five breaks over 50 in three frames.
:53:15. > :53:18.I mean it is not like Marco has not backbench at the table. Look at the
:53:19. > :53:38.pot red success rate. 97%. Een at the table. Look at the pot
:53:39. > :53:44.red success rate. 97%. A bit of a problem here, Judd. Looks
:53:45. > :53:51.like a double-kiss if he plays safe. What a great shot that was.
:53:52. > :53:55.Fantastic effort. In some ways he has to sacrifice possibly running
:53:56. > :54:01.through. But through is a lot of pressure on Marco Fu all of a sudden
:54:02. > :54:04.so this red, everyone though on other occasions would be pretty
:54:05. > :54:14.guaranteed, he has made it. Well done Marco Fu.
:54:15. > :54:18.Not just potted it, got enough of an angle on the blue, that should he
:54:19. > :54:24.want, he can go into the pack right hand side of the pink, could open
:54:25. > :54:29.them up, or there is the loose red at the bottom of the pack, his
:54:30. > :54:34.choice, he is playing for the loose one. I would have liked to have gone
:54:35. > :54:38.into a bit of the pack there. I am not going to start arguing with
:54:39. > :54:40.Marco, he is a winner. A lot of players would have gone
:54:41. > :54:54.straight into the pink there. As I mentioned earlier he has made
:54:55. > :55:01.435 centuries in his career, he knows how to break. This is tougher
:55:02. > :55:08.going into it from the black. There is another one still
:55:09. > :55:18.available, so... That helps, but after this one, it is going to start
:55:19. > :55:23.getting more difficult. Quite a tight pack, and wile he couldn't
:55:24. > :55:34.have guaranteed a nice split from the blue, it is not a guarantee off
:55:35. > :55:37.the black either. He will be happy to see that red come over the
:55:38. > :55:42.middle. And he will be happy to see a little
:55:43. > :55:48.gap to cue between the reds, he is not hampered. Got plenty of action
:55:49. > :55:50.on this one. White kept spinning. For a while it looked like he was
:55:51. > :56:13.going to be in trouble. So what Marco Fu has to do is win
:56:14. > :56:20.this frame in in visit. Wary of the fact that Judd Trump is chomping at
:56:21. > :56:56.the bit for a counter punch. Nice if this red goes next to the pink.
:56:57. > :57:02.3-1 at the mid-session interval. He wouldn't feel all that bad, because
:57:03. > :57:07.he knows he could quite easily have won the last two frames. I mean he
:57:08. > :57:17.made a break of 56 and lost that and then 64 and lost the previous frame.
:57:18. > :57:21.Just cutting out the little mistakes he has been making, he hasn't made
:57:22. > :57:29.many but they have been so costly the way Judd is playing.
:57:30. > :57:36.He has to be careful with this next one, when he plays the red, he has
:57:37. > :57:41.to play with top-spin to make sure he pushes through the other red and
:57:42. > :57:43.leave pink or black. Top-spin applied, and, he is not hampered. He
:57:44. > :58:15.is OK. This could turn out to be an
:58:16. > :58:20.absolute cracking match. All of that match play temperament that Marco Fu
:58:21. > :58:22.showed in coming back against John Higgins, he is going to need it
:58:23. > :58:42.today. Showing a lot of character here,
:58:43. > :58:48.isn't he, after what has just gone before in the two previous frames.
:58:49. > :58:56.So he has been in first, in, well, all three frames.
:58:57. > :59:10.That is the frame safe, and now he can settle down.
:59:11. > :00:08.It is going to be roughly 45 minutes for four frames. That is going some.
:00:09. > :00:15.He said he made a break of 56, 64 and a possible century here, but I
:00:16. > :00:26.am 3-1 down. Tough game. Yeah, it remains to be
:00:27. > :00:32.seen if those two frames that Judd Trump stole will come into the
:00:33. > :00:38.equation at the end of the match. One thing is for certain, though,
:00:39. > :00:49.Marco Fu amongst the balls. Looking every bit as fluent now.
:00:50. > :00:56.A brilliant response, this, from the man from Hong Kong. It really is. He
:00:57. > :01:03.can't beat the biggest break of the event. They have knocked these four
:01:04. > :01:10.frames off as quick as John and Ken were talking about how to respot the
:01:11. > :01:18.black. Marco playing a bit of an exhibition shot there.
:01:19. > :01:30.APPLAUSE I can't wait for the second half of
:01:31. > :01:37.this match. Absolutely fantastic from Marco Fu.
:01:38. > :01:43.He looks a bit pleased with himself, and so he should be. That brilliant
:01:44. > :01:51.frame takes into the mid-session interval, where he trails 3-1.
:01:52. > :01:56.STUDIO: We have ten centurions. Marvellous stuff.
:01:57. > :02:05.They are not giving any value for money. 44 minutes played, for frames
:02:06. > :02:10.played. -- four frames. What a response from Marco Fu. A wonderful
:02:11. > :02:14.100 break. He went about it a different way. He is more of a
:02:15. > :02:16.cherry picker when he makes a break, but a fantastic response considering
:02:17. > :02:22.what happened. You could see the confidence coming
:02:23. > :02:28.back. A great response from Marco after losing those couple of frames,
:02:29. > :02:31.or when they were at his mercy. They are making the table pockets look
:02:32. > :02:36.like buckets. Believe me, we know they are not buckets, they are tied
:02:37. > :02:39.pockets. They are making it look easy.
:02:40. > :02:43.Do you think there is a difference when you come to the Masters, no
:02:44. > :02:47.disrespect to the other players on the circuit at the UK Championship
:02:48. > :02:52.or the Crucible, but you are playing the top 16 players here. If you find
:02:53. > :02:55.yourself down, there is not long to get back into the match, and you
:02:56. > :03:00.have to get off on the front foot. No place to hide on the table,
:03:01. > :03:04.everything is on you. You are the centre of occasion. You are playing
:03:05. > :03:06.the best, and you had to be at it from Bull one.
:03:07. > :03:12.The players will be back shortly. In the meantime, Marco Fu made the
:03:13. > :03:16.final in 2011 when it was at Wembley Arena. He lost to Ding Junhui.
:03:17. > :03:23.Earlier this week he sat down for a chat with Ken.
:03:24. > :03:28.Marco, welcome. The Masters is a special tournament. It is one of
:03:29. > :03:31.those tournaments that the players like to put on the bucket list to
:03:32. > :03:37.try to get their hands on the wonderful trophy. It is such a
:03:38. > :03:41.prestigious event, because I have been watching this tournament since
:03:42. > :03:46.I was a kid. A lot of classic moments from the Masters.
:03:47. > :03:49.Your early days, though, you played in the conference centre originally.
:03:50. > :03:52.It was first experience of the Masters.
:03:53. > :03:57.I played Jimmy White. I got a wild card and played him the first time I
:03:58. > :04:04.was there. I was speaking to Stephen Hendry before the match. Actually, a
:04:05. > :04:07.week before the match. He was saying, first round, maybe, 1800
:04:08. > :04:13.people, something like that. Be prepared for that...
:04:14. > :04:19.the introduction of Jimmy White already scared me. Before you even
:04:20. > :04:24.walked up the stairs, you could hear the crowd roaring. It was a special
:04:25. > :04:28.place. What about the home now. You got to the final against Ding in
:04:29. > :04:33.the arena, but that was a special moment. It was the first time we had
:04:34. > :04:37.had two Asian players in a major tournament. Special for you guys.
:04:38. > :04:41.Very special. It was a disappointing end to a very good tournament for
:04:42. > :04:49.me. I had beaten 's top players to get to the final but would not play
:04:50. > :04:55.well in the final, losing 10-4. I was very proud to get to the
:04:56. > :04:59.final, both of us Asians, a lot of people tuned in to watch ask over
:05:00. > :05:05.100 million people watching the final. A proud one for me, but
:05:06. > :05:12.disappointed I didn't play better. What a week he has had, Marco Fu!
:05:13. > :05:17.APPLAUSE You are a quiet, unassuming type of
:05:18. > :05:21.character, personality, nothing phases you. You would be a great
:05:22. > :05:26.poker player, but when you are on the table, it is a different story.
:05:27. > :05:28.You are one of those silent assassins.
:05:29. > :05:33.I try to control my emotions. I am not like the players like Stephen
:05:34. > :05:36.Hendry, he has such a killer instinct. He doesn't really want to
:05:37. > :05:41.beat you, he wants to kill you on the table! I haven't got that,
:05:42. > :05:46.honestly. I just want to keep my emotions in control. That is my
:05:47. > :05:50.strength. I want to keep myself calm and play my best snooker. But
:05:51. > :05:56.sometimes I like a bit of motivation and inspiration for which some
:05:57. > :05:59.players can black, but you can't have it both ways.
:06:00. > :06:02.You seem to have got that back. You started off as world amateur
:06:03. > :06:08.champion, coming into the game with a big reputation. You might have had
:06:09. > :06:13.a lull, but now going into your 40s, you are coming into some fantastic
:06:14. > :06:16.form, a great win in December against John Higgins in his own
:06:17. > :06:24.backyard coming from 4-1 down. You are coming into the tournament with
:06:25. > :06:30.confidence. I played very well in Scotland. It is just one of those
:06:31. > :06:36.tournaments that you know straightaway, because the first two
:06:37. > :06:41.matches I played really well, I knew I would be there a week. In the
:06:42. > :06:44.final, it was my worst game of the week.
:06:45. > :06:51.John Higgins will be happy to hear that! Cut!
:06:52. > :06:55.It was just a great feeling to be able to win a tournament
:06:56. > :07:01.convincingly. You really have to play well to win a tournament, and I
:07:02. > :07:10.would love to obviously play Mark Selby, even if he doesn't play well,
:07:11. > :07:13.you can win tournaments. You have become a family man, you
:07:14. > :07:21.are married with two young daughters as well. Has it helped you settle
:07:22. > :07:24.down a little bit more? It is not easy for players to live in another
:07:25. > :07:30.country in a different environment, has it helped you? Having family
:07:31. > :07:33.definitely settles me, because knowing that winning and losing is
:07:34. > :07:36.not the most important thing, the most important thing is happiness
:07:37. > :07:42.and health. Sometimes losing a match, going back home and being
:07:43. > :07:47.able to play with them, you forget the pain of losing straightaway. It
:07:48. > :07:53.is really good in that way, but the tough part is I need to be away from
:07:54. > :07:56.home for a long time of the year. That is very, very difficult. That
:07:57. > :08:03.is probably my biggest weakness, going into matches. But knowing that
:08:04. > :08:09.if I lose, I can go back home and see them, it takes a bit off your
:08:10. > :08:11.killer instinct, and it can be a weakness.
:08:12. > :08:17.What about your opponent, Judd Trump, he comes with a big
:08:18. > :08:20.reputation, a very exciting player, with a big fan base and big fan
:08:21. > :08:26.following, particularly here in London. How will you approach that
:08:27. > :08:31.game? Is it just another game to you? Do you play different players
:08:32. > :08:37.differently? I try to play the same against different players, but it
:08:38. > :08:40.will be a tough game. Playing Jud is like playing Ronnie or Jimmy in
:08:41. > :08:45.London. But I have been here before, so I know what it takes to win. But
:08:46. > :08:51.my record against him is not great, to be honest. But I am playing a
:08:52. > :08:53.little bit better now. I have just went back a tournament, so the
:08:54. > :09:00.feeling for this match is different compared to before. -- just won a
:09:01. > :09:05.tournament. What does it mean for Marco Fu to lift that trophy on a
:09:06. > :09:08.Sunday night? The Masters trophy. I have come close to winning double
:09:09. > :09:17.crown events over the years. I have two semis in the world, and finals,
:09:18. > :09:21.but I have never really won anything over the years. Triple Crown events
:09:22. > :09:27.are the ones you love to win. Hopefully this is my week.
:09:28. > :09:30.OK, very best of luck to you. STUDIO: He just abraded his 39th

:09:37. > :09:41.unassuming character. You would not know he is in the room at all, but a
:09:42. > :09:49.lovely lad. He is playing fantastic. A huge frame before the interval. He
:09:50. > :09:51.will be feeling better. It will be a cracking finale.
:09:52. > :09:55.He lives and breathes it as well, Jason. Many years ago when I was
:09:56. > :10:01.playing the circuits, one of his first matches was against me. He can
:10:02. > :10:05.remember everything, I can't remember last week. He is a real
:10:06. > :10:10.student of the game. He has never changed. He is a lovely lad now and
:10:11. > :10:14.was then. He has been here since Sunday, I

:10:23. > :10:28.a really lovable lad. And a worker. He is 39, fair play to Marco Fu, we
:10:29. > :10:32.were in York in December, looking at the draw for the third round, where
:10:33. > :10:36.six Chinese players were through to the third round. Not many of them
:10:37. > :10:40.then progressed in the tournament. We endlessly talk about when a big
:10:41. > :10:43.explosion is going to happen, when are the Chinese players going to
:10:44. > :10:52.come through and threaten major finals? Let's ask Ken, playing with
:10:53. > :11:04.them. Which ones have you seen? There are a couple of young lads.
:11:05. > :11:10.The two lads that won the World Cup. There are three that stand out for
:11:11. > :11:14.me. They are all around not even 20 yet. They are very young, but they
:11:15. > :11:19.will be the next big thing from China.
:11:20. > :11:30.We know how popular the sport is in China, especially with Ding Junhui.

:12:00. > :12:06.underway tonight at 8pm tonight on the red button. Judd Trump leads
:12:07. > :12:17.Marco Fu 3-1. Mark Allen is through after beating John Higgins. Ding

:12:22. > :12:23.tomorrow night. Two former Masters champion 's clash at 1pm tomorrow,
:12:24. > :12:32.Selby against Williams. We want to know more about our
:12:33. > :12:36.snooker players on the circuit here at the Masters, so we thought we
:12:37. > :12:43.would get a graphologist to look at the handwriting of Neil Robertson.
:12:44. > :12:51.This writing is very large, because from the top of the key to the
:12:52. > :12:55.bottom of the GS 15 millimetres. They could be left-handed.
:12:56. > :13:05.See a stroke that is expanding, it can be worrying, because there is an
:13:06. > :13:11.increased pressure, pushing, and it can have a bullying quality. In this
:13:12. > :13:23.situation, one can see that the writing style started light on the
:13:24. > :13:26.left. It is a marvellous example of somebody in the right job, because
:13:27. > :13:34.look at the fact that you have the cue coming off to the right, and
:13:35. > :13:37.bouncing balls in the middle. He is symbolically saying, "This is the
:13:38. > :13:44.job I want to do". He is optimistic. He has a writing baseline. He is
:13:45. > :13:47.trying to do his best. But there is a tendency for him to try to do too
:13:48. > :13:53.much. Do you see the way that there is a touching of the low zone to the
:13:54. > :14:00.top of the next line. When you have the overlap of lines, it is somebody
:14:01. > :14:04.who is doing too much. There can be too much going on that they're
:14:05. > :14:08.planning ability can suffer. In addition to that, there is a
:14:09. > :14:13.tremendous need to retain. If you look at the pressure under the
:14:14. > :14:19.microscope, it is going from a light down stroke, to a heavy upstroke.
:14:20. > :14:23.Actually, in writing, quite the opposite should be the case. This
:14:24. > :14:28.down stroke should be heavy, and this upstroke should be lighter.
:14:29. > :14:32.When you have this displaced pressure, as it is called, it is
:14:33. > :14:35.somebody that has a tremendously strong need to retain, which is a
:14:36. > :14:40.positive thing if you are a competitive player. There is an
:14:41. > :14:50.extra stroke in some of the places. Look at the way that the O has been
:14:51. > :14:58.finished. This is somebody who is a perfectionist. The issue here is,
:14:59. > :15:03.when you have connected writing, somebody that is a logical thinker,
:15:04. > :15:10.it can set up a slight indecision. I will do that, should I.
:15:11. > :15:16.The actual follow-through is sometimes not complete. But slight
:15:17. > :15:20.indecision about where should I go is showing in the structure of the
:15:21. > :15:24.letters as well. Again, it would be interesting to
:15:25. > :15:28.see this person playing, to see whether they move around the table
:15:29. > :15:29.and consider a lot of shots before actually going forward and taking
:15:30. > :15:39.that shot. STUDIO: I hope Adam never see the

:15:46. > :15:48.indecision a few times. Can we relate that to Neal's west around
:15:49. > :15:54.the table? Absolutely not. If anyone is focused
:15:55. > :15:58.and knows what to do it is Neil. This is a tournament Neal has done
:15:59. > :16:04.well in. He has had three finals in this venue, so he likes the venue.
:16:05. > :16:09.He was beaten last year, the best best of 11 I have seen against Judd
:16:10. > :16:14.Trump. He loves the big events. After a slight hiatus in the season
:16:15. > :16:17.for him by his standards, he will be keyed up for this.
:16:18. > :16:21.I talked to him about his 20 15th championship, and he crashed out in
:16:22. > :16:25.the last 32 of the World Championship.
:16:26. > :16:33.He has not regained his form from 2015. He is a class player. Even
:16:34. > :16:39.class players go through peaks and troughs.
:16:40. > :16:44.I am sure 2017 will be one of the forerunners for him.
:16:45. > :16:47.He has just played in the championship league last week, 13
:16:48. > :16:51.centuries, so he is back. Neal takes on Ali Carter this
:16:52. > :16:56.evening. It is on the red button at 7pm, highlights on BBC Two with
:16:57. > :17:03.Hazel. We have been looking at his game.
:17:04. > :17:08.We have some fluid and heavy school was on the circuit, and Ali Carter
:17:09. > :17:14.comes into that category. Yes, what an incredible match
:17:15. > :17:21.player. Very tough to beat -- scorers.
:17:22. > :17:24.He can get upset with himself sometimes.
:17:25. > :17:28.What about his technique? His technique is one of the best in the
:17:29. > :17:35.game. He has a short bridge, so he is close to the cue ball, keeping
:17:36. > :17:39.very still on the shot. Times the ball really well.
:17:40. > :17:45.The fact that he is centralised in his striking, ie he is not dominant
:17:46. > :17:51.left or right, he can bring the cue back in a straight line, and push
:17:52. > :17:54.back in a straight line. Not many players can do that.
:17:55. > :17:58.He has had well-documented health problems, but to come back and wind
:17:59. > :18:00.won't is amazing. Tremendous what he has done.
:18:01. > :18:06.Tremendous fighting character. He works very hard. Perhaps I have been
:18:07. > :18:12.on at him when I have tried to help Ali in the past. I always feel he
:18:13. > :18:15.could be even better than he is. I feel that he did win more
:18:16. > :18:20.tournaments than he has done. Sometimes I wish he had the
:18:21. > :18:25.dedication of a Stuart Bingham or a Shaun Murphy, or a Mark Selby. But
:18:26. > :18:29.that might just be his character. He likes to prepare for certain
:18:30. > :18:33.tournaments, especially the World Championship, and it works for him.
:18:34. > :18:38.He has arguably been unlucky to run into Ronnie O'Sullivan in two of
:18:39. > :18:42.those finals. Absolutely. The way he was playing during the
:18:43. > :18:45.World Championships, he would have had an outstanding chance against
:18:46. > :18:48.any other player in the world to become world champion. I still
:18:49. > :18:52.believe he can become world champion, because he has so many
:18:53. > :18:57.things in his favour. Technically, he is brilliant. He has got a great
:18:58. > :19:01.fighting mental attitude, he really, really does want to win badly. It
:19:02. > :19:06.means an awful lot to him. It is quite interesting for me to work
:19:07. > :19:09.closely with Ali. We have worked on a few things specifically on the
:19:10. > :19:14.mental side of the game. I see a completely different player from the
:19:15. > :19:17.player that I first started working with 4-5 years ago.
:19:18. > :19:29.You are close to him. Do you honestly think he is ectopic player?
:19:30. > :19:35.Absently. -- a top eight player. Ali has great bottle. Under pressure, he
:19:36. > :19:39.is capable of doing whatever he needs to do.
:19:40. > :19:48.STUDIO: And he is one of the sharpest dresses on the tour as
:19:49. > :19:53.well. You can see how he gets on tonight in highlights on BBC Two
:19:54. > :19:57.with Hazel, live coverage, 7pm, red button and online. You know where to
:19:58. > :20:05.go. Every ball this year 's live on the BBC. Back to this afternoon,
:20:06. > :20:10.Judd Trump leads Marco Fu 3-1. Marvellous entertainment.
:20:11. > :20:16.All we want is more the same. Yes please.
:20:17. > :20:24.A big frame for Marco, this one. Good stuff, back to our commentary
:20:25. > :20:29.team, Dennis Taylor and Steve Davis. COMMENTATOR: Thank you, Jason. Let's
:20:30. > :20:36.hope this match continues. From where it left. Fabulous from both
:20:37. > :20:41.players. Of big breaks. Both players have had a century. Marco's to rivet
:20:42. > :20:46.130 two win his first frame just before the mid-session interval. As
:20:47. > :20:54.Ken Doherty said that, although it is best of 11, this is a key frame
:20:55. > :20:58.coming up, 4-1. Look at the pot success rate, it has jumped up from
:20:59. > :21:06.Marco to 93. Judd is still at 96. Only two points separate them. Just
:21:07. > :21:20.a containing safety there. Only three different in balls
:21:21. > :21:34.potted. I know there are three interested
:21:35. > :21:37.spectators watching, his son Damian and his lovely wife Anneka have just
:21:38. > :21:46.arrived back from hospital with their new baby boy Hunter that was
:21:47. > :21:48.born yesterday. His grandad will soon put him to sleep listening to
:21:49. > :22:43.Steve and me. Now, is he going to get away with
:22:44. > :22:52.this? He has. I say he has Marco might
:22:53. > :22:56.have a go with the red to the left corner, and leave himself on the
:22:57. > :23:04.black. He can't get to that one. Not a good potting angle anyway.
:23:05. > :23:09.Maybe he can see enough of it. Yeah, yeah, he can just see past the
:23:10. > :23:11.brown. So he didn't get away with it there,
:23:12. > :23:36.Judd. APPLAUSE You can see by the amount of time
:23:37. > :23:38.Marco is studying this that it's not a foregone conclusion for position
:23:39. > :23:57.on a red. A marvellous shot. If he's not on a
:23:58. > :24:02.ball there, he can count himself very unlucky.
:24:03. > :24:06.He might have to take a tricky one into the right middle. He is looking
:24:07. > :24:11.to see if the one will go in the left middle pocket. That would be an
:24:12. > :24:20.easier pot. If it does, there is a gap to screw. He can get through to
:24:21. > :24:27.that one, just, I think. Just about. Doesn't really want to pot the pink,
:24:28. > :24:28.I don't think. That could be the only reason why he didn't get
:24:29. > :24:47.straight down on this. Taking a bit of time to work it out,
:24:48. > :24:49.and now goes for the pink, so happy with the situation. I don't exactly
:24:50. > :25:03.know where the pink spots. That's the only reason he didn't
:25:04. > :25:14.want to be playing that. It ties up another red.
:25:15. > :25:23.Oh... that is a bad mistake if he's not on this. He should have been
:25:24. > :25:25.nowhere near that red. Tempting fate really.
:25:26. > :25:29.He had to play it with a trace of side and he didn't get enough side
:25:30. > :25:37.on it. It was so easy. Oh, that is careless. Didn't get the required
:25:38. > :25:44.side on that. Quite a margin for error, played with left-hand side,
:25:45. > :26:22.but not quite enough on it. That's a let off for Judd Trump.
:26:23. > :26:33.So far in this match, nearly all of the unforced errors have come from
:26:34. > :26:41.Marco Fu. But he is still potting nicely. APPLAUSE
:26:42. > :26:47.That brown is nicely over the pocket. It was a poor safety shot
:26:48. > :26:54.from Judd, it has to be said. That's not the best kiss in the
:26:55. > :27:14.world. I suppose he had to play it that
:27:15. > :27:19.way. He didn't have to try and shift everything around. And these are not
:27:20. > :27:43.certainties. APPLAUSE Bit wider on the blue than he
:27:44. > :27:48.wanted, so not trusting to luck this time by going into balls. He's
:27:49. > :27:55.trying to keep it in open play. He's lost the cue ball a bit there.
:27:56. > :28:05.I'm sure he wanted to be on the one to the left of the table.
:28:06. > :28:15.Perhaps he was going for these two on the right-hand side, but he is
:28:16. > :28:22.short of pace on bones. -- combos. So, a missable read now. -- short of
:28:23. > :28:34.pace on those. APPLAUSE Good recovery pot, but the wrong
:28:35. > :28:39.side of the blue. But that red to the left of the bunch is on for him
:28:40. > :28:44.if he screws back a couple of feet. He can be on that, as you can see,
:28:45. > :28:49.on the left side of the blue line there. He has to leave a
:28:50. > :28:55.medium-range pot. Yeah, the only trouble with this is,
:28:56. > :29:02.the cue ball in this break is doing a bit more mileage than he would
:29:03. > :29:06.have wanted. Trying to get the right side of
:29:07. > :29:14.balls from distance is harder than when you are close in. Once again,
:29:15. > :29:24.looks to be a bit short on the blue. The worst scenario is straight.
:29:25. > :29:59.REFEREE: Foul. Talked himself into playing that
:30:00. > :30:10.with a bit of right-hand spin. Trying to twist the black in. Very
:30:11. > :30:14.tight. Yeah, trying to play that with a trace of side is difficult.
:30:15. > :30:18.He could have rolled the blue in and left the red. There is a read
:30:19. > :30:23.between the black spot and the pack. He could have left that. But it was
:30:24. > :30:29.a tricky pot. He was asking a little bit much to just bend it slightly to
:30:30. > :30:34.create a potting angle on the black. Not much Judd Trump could do with
:30:35. > :30:43.that shot other than get it down the table.
:30:44. > :30:49.Got the pace wrong. Marco doesn't pot it, and now Judd Trump, should
:30:50. > :30:55.he wish to, can open the reds up a bit more. You get the feeling that
:30:56. > :31:07.Judd only needs one chance in a frame.
:31:08. > :31:13.I don't know know... Marco can come down the right side of the table.
:31:14. > :31:15.But he has to be careful with this red. Could sneak over the left
:31:16. > :31:31.corner. It almost went right over the corner
:31:32. > :31:35.as you predicted, Steve. But look at the cue ball, the length on that is
:31:36. > :31:40.terrific, and while that is a big pocket, if he can't get through to
:31:41. > :31:45.cut the one end that the near the pocket. Look where the cue ball is,
:31:46. > :31:51.but there is no easy safety, he will have to attempt... He has not come
:31:52. > :31:55.up to look at how the red is lying over the pocket but you feel as if
:31:56. > :32:00.he has a big margin of error on that red that is is a bit further up. But
:32:01. > :32:08.he is playing the safety or possibly the shot to nothing.
:32:09. > :32:20.He has a good cue ball if it keeps running. What a shot this is. That
:32:21. > :32:23.is a face fascinating situation. Perhaps the Judd Trump of old would
:32:24. > :32:28.have got down and played the big pocket shot as we could call it in
:32:29. > :32:33.the game, but Judd showing some maturity and perhaps just, waiting
:32:34. > :32:37.for a better chance, not... Panicking at the first opportunity
:32:38. > :32:44.an he has put the pressure on Marco here. Can Marco lay on the pack?
:32:45. > :32:58.There is not much of a pack. Yes, a pack of three. Yes.
:32:59. > :33:06.And very difficult to get through to the red, that is over the pocket. He
:33:07. > :33:10.is trying to see if he can come off a couple of cushions, but this is so
:33:11. > :33:15.tough here. It is not a bad effort if he hisses
:33:16. > :33:22.the pink. It might be in the pocket though, but it wasn't a bad effort.
:33:23. > :33:32.How has he not hit the red? The ultimate miss that.
:33:33. > :33:36.If anything wasn't a miss it was that but it is a miss. Can he find
:33:37. > :33:42.that angle again, it is going to be difficult. The referee is allowed to
:33:43. > :33:45.not call a miss under those circumstances but the modern day way
:33:46. > :33:55.is you call it. He has it this time and he has got away with it.
:33:56. > :34:01.Well almost got away with it. The red will pot. It is not easy but it
:34:02. > :34:07.will go. Oh. All of a sudden, I said it
:34:08. > :34:12.wasn't easy and all of a sudden, from being in a terrible position,
:34:13. > :34:17.Marco Fu is back at the table with a chance.
:34:18. > :34:21.Yes, I think the reason he did get away with it, is that Judd Trump was
:34:22. > :34:25.expecting an easy opportunity from that and all of a sudden he comes to
:34:26. > :34:32.the table with a bit more pressure than he thought was possible. That
:34:33. > :34:40.is the first relatively easy ball I think Judd has missed.
:34:41. > :34:44.But that escape of Marco, he has to go so close to the pink, to even
:34:45. > :34:49.give himself any chance of hitting that red. I mean that was pinpoint
:34:50. > :35:04.accuracy, you won't see a better escape than that.
:35:05. > :35:12.Watch how close he goes to the pink here, slides past. Amazing.
:35:13. > :35:19.This is his third attempt to win this frame, in open play.
:35:20. > :35:34.You would expect him to convert this chance.
:35:35. > :35:41.Once again he just about gets on the right side of the colour. That
:35:42. > :36:38.looked a bit lazy that cue ball, as it came back.
:36:39. > :36:46.He is carrying on where he left off before the mid-session interval, is
:36:47. > :36:50.Marco. As I say, he showed a lot of
:36:51. > :36:56.character after losing two frames where he made breaks of 56 and 644
:36:57. > :37:01.to bounce back with 130. This is the longest frame of the match so far,
:37:02. > :37:09.but the balls did go a little awkward.
:37:10. > :37:37.That is the frame safe. I think he didn't panic when he was
:37:38. > :37:41.3-0 down because of what he did to John Higgins in the Scottish Open
:37:42. > :37:45.final, he was 4-1 down and won eight frames in a row. You know, that is
:37:46. > :37:52.always going to be in the back of your mind, so you don't tend to
:37:53. > :37:58.panic, and he didn't. And it is two in a row to be one
:37:59. > :38:03.behind. I did mention before the mid-session
:38:04. > :38:07.interval, I thought this could be a cracking match, it could prove to
:38:08. > :38:16.be. Because they are both playing really well. Both 95%, with the pot
:38:17. > :38:19.success rate. Terrific stuff. This crowd is being royally entertained
:38:20. > :38:54.here in the Ally Pally this afternoon.
:38:55. > :39:00.He has currently got the same pot success rate, although it doesn't
:39:01. > :39:11.feel like that for some reason. It feels like Marco has made more
:39:12. > :39:15.mistakes, but that is the way it is. Well, that is another fabulous
:39:16. > :39:23.clearance there from Marco Fu. Breaks of 130 and that break of 88
:39:24. > :39:28.is only one behind now, it is 3-2 to Judd Trump. Long may this last,
:39:29. > :39:31.because this is a cracker, it has the hallmarks of being another
:39:32. > :39:35.blistering match here It had the look of that with Marco coming in in
:39:36. > :39:39.good form. Judd having a good record against him and the two current
:39:40. > :39:42.players in good form. There is a situation which is very strange,
:39:43. > :39:46.where if you look at the table, Marco is in all sorts of trouble
:39:47. > :39:50.here, and he has to get out of a snooker. He looks like he has enough
:39:51. > :39:54.reds, you think he is he going to get out of this? If not lose the
:39:55. > :39:58.frame be pegged back in the frame, and to his in a couple of shots
:39:59. > :40:02.later, he gets in and wins the frame off it. But this was a brilliant
:40:03. > :40:07.attempt. Sneaks past the pink. Hits the red. Doesn't get the double-kiss
:40:08. > :40:12.in the first place, which is great but to get out of that. Judd missed
:40:13. > :40:18.and he was back in. To get out of that is clever. He has showed a lot
:40:19. > :40:23.of character, Marco. He has. He hasn't pressed the panic button.
:40:24. > :40:27.That will come from the confidence of beating John Higgins in Scotland.
:40:28. > :40:30.When you are playing well you don't press the panic Button. He is calm
:40:31. > :40:35.and he has taken his chances as he got them. All 06 a sudden from Judd
:40:36. > :40:42.Trump looking like he was going to runway with this he has been pegged
:40:43. > :40:45.back. The deficits are worse and seem insurmountable when you have no
:40:46. > :40:48.form but that is not the case with Marco. So a break of 88 has got
:40:49. > :41:11.Marco Fu right back in this one. DENNIS TAYLOR: no easy way back down
:41:12. > :41:23.the table so just the containing safety shot.
:41:24. > :41:36.Well, that is very careless from Marco, there. The red shouldn't have
:41:37. > :41:43.been anywhere near the yellow. He has overcut it. Manufacture He has
:41:44. > :41:48.overcut it so lost a bit of his rhythm at the minute, Judd. He never
:41:49. > :41:52.looked like missing in the three opening frames. Just overcut that,
:41:53. > :42:15.probably with a trace of side on it. Not sure what, I think Marco hit
:42:16. > :42:19.that far too hard. He was playing for the blue. If it hadn't caught
:42:20. > :42:23.the middle pocket it might have finished up on the black. The red
:42:24. > :42:27.close to the pocket, sometimes it is a bit difficult to judge what you
:42:28. > :42:36.are doing with the cue ball. Take some shot to keep this break going.
:42:37. > :42:45.A bit adventurous to play the two ball plant at distance. It is not
:42:46. > :42:51.got the most cue power to be able to swing this round for the top
:42:52. > :42:57.cushion. So trundling through, has he left himself... Enough of a gap
:42:58. > :43:02.to play this outside red? Oh, there was a bit more of an angle, so he
:43:03. > :43:11.couldn't do that. So he can get to this red.
:43:12. > :43:16.Well recovered. And this time he has to go into the
:43:17. > :43:21.pink, there is only one red, so plenty of power, try and hit the
:43:22. > :43:27.pink full ball. Well he is still playing for the
:43:28. > :43:35.loose red, that is amazing. Well I think, has he got there? Has it just
:43:36. > :43:39.got there? Doesn't look like it. Well I, like you, thought that was
:43:40. > :43:45.the time to go in. Ken was, John was saying in the studio it is not his
:43:46. > :43:49.way to go into the pack. It wasn't perfect situation to go in, the pink
:43:50. > :43:56.was away from the apex of the reds there. So many shots on the snooker
:43:57. > :44:02.table you think I wish I could have that one again. Has he got this
:44:03. > :44:08.behind the yellow? He needs to get it there.
:44:09. > :44:09.Can Judd Trump just get past? I don't think so.
:44:10. > :44:27.It is tight. So, a few questions on Judd know. --
:44:28. > :44:33.now. 3-0 up, never nice to sacrifice a
:44:34. > :44:37.3-0 lead, is it? Just lost a bit of rhythm, he needs a chance to get in
:44:38. > :44:46.among the balls again. Meanwhile he has to play a few good
:44:47. > :45:01.safeties to create that chance. And this is pretty good.
:45:02. > :45:14.That nice flick on the brown has snookered Marco. He can't go down
:45:15. > :45:21.the left-hand side. So a bit of danger here. He is not snookered on
:45:22. > :45:29.the reds, so he, he has to go for one. Within three visit. If he
:45:30. > :45:32.didn't like the situation he could go off the side cushion and play
:45:33. > :45:38.into the pack or play a containing shot, but a bit of a problem.
:45:39. > :45:44.Because he has to cover that red, that is near the right corner, and
:45:45. > :45:52.he is looking over there, to see, he can find a path round to that
:45:53. > :45:57.position, but he only has the blue to snooker Judd on. So let us see if
:45:58. > :46:03.he can judge this, he will have to be perfect. He has found the gap.
:46:04. > :46:09.But I think he has hit it a little bit too hard. It was tough that.
:46:10. > :46:25.Yes, he has, but this is a big shot now. It is not a certainty. Choices
:46:26. > :46:34.of reds. Enough distance it is not guaranteed.
:46:35. > :46:42.As I say, he needs an easy starter just to get a bit of rhythm going.
:46:43. > :46:48.It is a similar sort of shot for Marco Fu here.
:46:49. > :47:08.He will be delighted with where the cue ball has ended up.
:47:09. > :47:13.Wow. He had to give it a bash but he kept that cue on the line and this
:47:14. > :47:20.black gives him a great chance if he can get this in and it's in.
:47:21. > :47:46.What a match player, Marco Fu is. He has gone ahead in the pot success
:47:47. > :47:51.department, Marco, he is now at 96. Fabulous stuff.
:47:52. > :48:06.Well, from both players. And as you mentioned at the start,
:48:07. > :48:12.Steve, they have played each other 11 times, and Judd Trump has won
:48:13. > :48:14.nine of those, you wouldn't think it, the way Marco is going about
:48:15. > :48:29.this. That is not marvellous, but he has
:48:30. > :48:35.got pots on, but lost the cue ball a bit. When you think Dennis, how well
:48:36. > :48:38.Judd Trump started this match off. He looked insinceable. Take --
:48:39. > :48:48.invincible. Marco Fu has bags of experience and
:48:49. > :48:55.that bit of confidence. He is making what could have been a very bad day
:48:56. > :49:10.potentially a wonderful one. Ooh! Well, it has just turned into
:49:11. > :49:18.bad day again. The twist and turns.
:49:19. > :49:28.Now, earlier in the day, Judd Trump would have mopped these up. Bit more
:49:29. > :49:35.difficult now He has played a shocker. Now he is forced with a
:49:36. > :49:42.very tricky cut back. He thought he had enough side to swing it out
:49:43. > :49:51.nicely on the black. Good recovery though.
:49:52. > :49:55.That is what he can do, he is a devastating potter. There is a lot
:49:56. > :49:58.more balls to be potted, but arguably that could be the most
:49:59. > :50:04.important shot of the day for Judd Trump.
:50:05. > :50:15.He committed to that black. Knew it was tough.
:50:16. > :50:31.Will that be the Springboard for another counter attack?
:50:32. > :50:51.Not the best opportunity. Opportunity.
:50:52. > :50:59.Of the ones he had. A few reds round the pink that look awkward. Not sure
:51:00. > :51:02.what he played for? Did he play for the one... The one below the pink.
:51:03. > :51:26.That doesn't go, does it? Wonderfully on this black should he
:51:27. > :51:29.want to go into the reds. Didn't get a great split. He is still in
:51:30. > :51:50.position. That is my favourite shot of the
:51:51. > :51:59.game. The stun run through. I really love that shot. Takes a lot of
:52:00. > :52:04.practise to perfect that. That is a lovely shot. You hit it in
:52:05. > :52:09.the centre and punch it, and the white just follows through about 18
:52:10. > :52:14.inches. Cue ball has come a bit further away
:52:15. > :52:16.from the cushion for it to be comfortable here. He has a bit of
:52:17. > :52:34.stretching to do. I think he is just OK, just coming
:52:35. > :52:42.round to check there, if the the red that is two from the pink will go.
:52:43. > :52:54.He needs that red on the right side cushion. That is Marco Fu's current
:52:55. > :52:59.insurance policy. He didn't feel as if the red would go, that is why he
:53:00. > :53:08.played the cannon. It could have worked out a bit better for him.
:53:09. > :53:39.Another good recovery pot. Just a lit check of the score board
:53:40. > :53:46.to work out if he does need this red, he could have argued he should
:53:47. > :53:53.have worked out earlier, but it would be highly critical to say
:53:54. > :54:10.that! Yes, he has to move it, hasn't he, and needs a good angle now.
:54:11. > :54:22.From where he has ended up, it is not easy to get this red out, to
:54:23. > :54:26.guarantee collision with it. He is left handed, so not so easy to drop
:54:27. > :54:33.on to the side cushion, so he is going for this to knock it out. Not
:54:34. > :54:43.just the direction, it is the pace. Great effort. Great effort.
:54:44. > :54:48.APPLAUSE Especially played from Judd Trump.
:54:49. > :54:54.-- especially played from Judd Trump. And he will be feeling a lot
:54:55. > :54:58.better and a lot of his sport earths will be, because Marco Fu was just
:54:59. > :55:10.starting to take control of the match. -- supporters.
:55:11. > :55:19.This has stopped the rot for Judd. Didn't get much of a chance, the two
:55:20. > :55:24.previous frames. Just lost a bit of rhythm. Once he got in among them,
:55:25. > :55:33.he has looked just the way he did at the start of this match.
:55:34. > :55:40.Apparently Judd has been playing magnificent in practise in the build
:55:41. > :55:49.up to this event. And he has answered a few questions here today.
:55:50. > :55:56.4-2. JASON MOHAMMAD: when Marco was in, I
:55:57. > :55:57.thought I wonder whether Judd is thinking to what happened in
:55:58. > :56:02.December when he was 5-1 Apparently Judd has been playing
:56:03. > :56:05.magnificent in practise in the build up to this event. And he has
:56:06. > :56:06.answered a few questions here today. 4-2.
:56:07. > :56:09.JASON MOHAMMAD: when Marco was in, I thought I wonder whether Judd is
:56:10. > :56:11.thinking to what happened in December when he was 5-1 up against
:56:12. > :56:14.John Higgins thinking "Oh no, I am not going here again." It can happen
:56:15. > :56:17.like that. That was a very important frame for him, just to make that
:56:18. > :56:19.break there, ultimately Marco will kick himself. He looked like he was
:56:20. > :56:22.getting level in that and through him a lifeline. All credit to Judd,
:56:23. > :56:26.he was starting to teeter. Under pressure, he missed a couple, you
:56:27. > :56:30.know, but the one, the last shot, the black, knocking out the red, he
:56:31. > :56:34.knew he had to get the red off. This is a great shot. Fantastic. It is
:56:35. > :56:38.about the pace here, he didn't hit it too hard. He has #e6ry confidence
:56:39. > :56:42.to knock it out and any sort of shot. There is is a bit of luck
:56:43. > :56:48.involved in that shot. If you get cushion and you can knock it past.
:56:49. > :56:53.The way he played it was right way to play, giving himself every
:56:54. > :56:57.chance. When you are leading 4-2 does it make a difference? What it
:56:58. > :57:03.makes a difference is when you look at being pegged at 3-3. He has gone,
:57:04. > :57:07.he has gone out, gone to come back, he will get composure back and come
:57:08. > :57:12.back and the 4-the is the difference, when you look like you
:57:13. > :57:18.are being pegged 3-3. It will steady him a bit. During that frame, he was
:57:19. > :57:22.looking a bit edgy because he missed a couple of easy reds and Marco was
:57:23. > :57:25.looking like he was getting on top. Marco's decision making in that
:57:26. > :57:30.particular frame, why didn't he go into the pack off the blue? He tried
:57:31. > :57:34.to get on the loose red, instead of going on the run. Make the frame
:57:35. > :57:38.from that position. You made a good point as we went into that six frame
:57:39. > :57:45.as well, saying Marco hasn't played badly. He is playing well. This
:57:46. > :57:51.there is moments of, lapses of concentration, whether it is never,
:57:52. > :57:57.unlucky. The best players are here here. You might miss a shot like
:57:58. > :58:02.that and get away with it with someone lower down the rankings but
:58:03. > :58:03.you don't here. Let us see what Marco has as Judd Trump closes in on
:58:04. > :58:12.a place in the last eight. DENNIS TAYLOR:. Best of 11, the
:58:13. > :58:16.first player to six, still a lot of snooker to be played here this
:58:17. > :58:28.afternoon, and just the odd mistake, and pretty careless one from Marco
:58:29. > :58:31.in that last frame, cost him. Maybe knocked a bit of the
:58:32. > :58:36.confidence out of him. He was right in and he missed one with the rest.
:58:37. > :58:40.Look at this. It is just a straightforward, just roll it in.
:58:41. > :58:45.And that would have got him back to three each. He was right in among
:58:46. > :58:49.them there. And I think that might be the big
:58:50. > :59:09.turning miss in this match. Did very well to get that cue ball
:59:10. > :59:20.the correct side of the blue. Massive advantage the amount of cue
:59:21. > :59:29.power Judd Trump has. A far greater range of shots than
:59:30. > :59:38.his opponent can play. It is not something you can really learn to
:59:39. > :59:42.do, hitting the ball hard, it is your reflexes, still got to get it
:59:43. > :59:46.accurate. It is like a golf shot. You can't teach someone to spin the
:59:47. > :59:52.ball back on the green. It is like, how can you teach someone to screw a
:59:53. > :59:58.ball back, eight foot? Meanwhile, he... He has messed it up. Unless
:59:59. > :00:02.something goes in the pack we can't see. It is pretty poor shot. Can't
:00:03. > :00:14.work out what he was playing. Miles away from where he needed to
:00:15. > :00:23.be, unless he was trying to get the cue ball in the middle of the table
:00:24. > :00:36.to get it past the pink. He's ended up playing a pretty ropey shot.
:00:37. > :00:42.Didn't get any action on the cue ball, perhaps he was coming down to
:00:43. > :00:49.cannon the pink. Really don't know... Decent safety shot from
:00:50. > :01:02.Marco, flicks the brown or doesn't, either way, pretty good.
:01:03. > :01:15.This is a horrible one, this could go wrong. OK, so, he won't be too
:01:16. > :01:21.disappointed with that. That was his feeler attempt, effectively getting,
:01:22. > :01:26.see how the ball goes down the table, see if there's any roll off.
:01:27. > :01:30.He decided to play it then, because he can't afford to hit this shot at
:01:31. > :01:34.all sick. So you'd expect him to make the adjustment the second time.
:01:35. > :01:48.-- at all thick. Not too far away from where it was.
:01:49. > :01:53.Let's have a look where it was. We can show you, it was there. Where is
:01:54. > :02:06.it now? Just a fraction. That's perfect.
:02:07. > :02:23.Very well executed, even though it was second attempt. Still had to be
:02:24. > :02:30.highly accurate on that shot. Marco has a similar type of shot to play,
:02:31. > :02:34.similar position to put him back in but he's completely butchered it.
:02:35. > :02:42.Hit that so thick, should have been behind the yellow again. What damage
:02:43. > :02:47.has he done here? You've got to say, even though there's a lot of reds
:02:48. > :02:53.clustered at the top of the table, it's a chance for 5-2.
:02:54. > :03:09.Marco's hope is after messing this shot up, I don't think he even hit
:03:10. > :03:16.the right to red. He's just got to that because there is a big traffic
:03:17. > :03:22.jam up the top, that Judd doesn't get a good result of this shot.
:03:23. > :03:27.Always plenty of traffic jams around Ally Pally, not far off the north
:03:28. > :03:32.circular. He's got a red into the left corner and that pink is begging
:03:33. > :03:39.to be potted. He has an escape route for this. Jam.
:03:40. > :04:12.He didn't take any time at all to work that shot out. Looped it around
:04:13. > :04:13.the black and all of a sudden it's opened up into a genuine
:04:14. > :04:45.frame-winning chance. Wasting no time at all. Amongst the
:04:46. > :05:49.balls he seems to be supremely confident.
:05:50. > :06:02.First minor mistake. It's going to be a bit further away from this red,
:06:03. > :06:06.but you can hardly call it a true mistake. This red is far enough away
:06:07. > :06:10.from the cushion that he won't have any problems potting it. Positional
:06:11. > :06:31.play is a bit more difficult. Just lost the cue ball. It's the
:06:32. > :06:34.type of situation reminiscent of a shot Alex Higgins played on that
:06:35. > :06:41.magnificent clearance against Jimmy White in 1982. Pot the blue to the
:06:42. > :06:50.side cushion and then screw back to the top cushion. But he's got a much
:06:51. > :06:54.easier pink. If it goes in, positionally, anyway. It's in. Great
:06:55. > :07:02.shot. He's lost the cue ball, though.
:07:03. > :07:10.I think that shot wasn't available to him, the Alex Higgins special. It
:07:11. > :07:13.was hampered by all the other red sand colours. That's right, he would
:07:14. > :07:18.have had to lean over them. He only just dropped the pink in and it
:07:19. > :07:24.doesn't look like he's gone far enough, looks very tight. I don't
:07:25. > :07:30.think it goes, Dennis. It really doesn't go, I'm telling you, that
:07:31. > :07:34.doesn't go. I believe you, Steve, I believe you. He's never going to
:07:35. > :07:41.play it. The trouble is, I'm not sure what
:07:42. > :07:58.other shots he plays. Going to play a safety shot to
:07:59. > :08:04.there. Whatever he decides he's a strong favourite, because he is 59
:08:05. > :08:09.in front and only needs a red and any colour.
:08:10. > :08:29.Makes it a bit easier for Marco Fu to put in a good safety.
:08:30. > :08:48.Just got to be a wee bit careful of he's going to land on these reds,
:08:49. > :08:52.because he could leave a pot bond. He might be better playing a two
:08:53. > :08:56.cushion escape. If he could nestle on one of the reds to the left...
:08:57. > :09:00.There you can see, that is the snookering shadow you can see. If he
:09:01. > :09:05.just nestles on one on the left side of the table, he can leave one along
:09:06. > :09:12.the cushion. Just got to be a wee bit careful here.
:09:13. > :09:21.I think I'd rather play it slowly than putting pace in. He's got the
:09:22. > :09:28.black tied up as it is. So this way he could shift the black out.
:09:29. > :09:41.Well, Margo, I think, can pot this. Yes. -- Mark Owen.
:09:42. > :09:51.Although, he might not be able to control the cue ball... To his
:09:52. > :09:58.liking. That Green's a bit of a problem, perhaps.
:09:59. > :10:37.He could have done with missing the pink and coming up and just nudging
:10:38. > :10:47.the black. He would have been OK. He looked as if he was going to get
:10:48. > :10:51.straight down and try to cut this in but he's had second thoughts.
:10:52. > :10:57.Because this is just a massive frame for him. He has to win this, 5-2,
:10:58. > :11:00.very little chance. If he's going to play the safety shot, he should play
:11:01. > :11:07.the one on the left of the table because that clears and opens the
:11:08. > :11:11.black a bit better. OK, so the black is available into the right corner.
:11:12. > :11:29.I think I preferred the other safety shot.
:11:30. > :11:37.That's a terrific return from Judd Trump there.
:11:38. > :11:46.That's where his game really has improved, Steve. His safety game has
:11:47. > :11:55.certainly improved. That's effectively where Marco could have
:11:56. > :12:03.put Judd, I think. This is tough. Marco this has got to be thin. The
:12:04. > :12:14.danger of the thin one. Has he got the blue coming to his rescue? Yes.
:12:15. > :12:17.Judd is seething at the moment, thinking he's got away with that.
:12:18. > :12:23.Judd is saying that's just lucky. That's a fantastic shot.
:12:24. > :13:03.APPLAUSE That's a pretty good one as well.
:13:04. > :13:08.APPLAUSE Excellent judgment of pace there
:13:09. > :13:12.from Marco Fu. On these very fast tables the cue ball lazily gets back
:13:13. > :13:27.behind the balkline. Just kept itself away from that
:13:28. > :13:32.corner pocket enough. To at least give Marco a problem. He'll be
:13:33. > :13:39.possibly tempted for the double here. It is a thin one. Great shot.
:13:40. > :13:52.What a shot that is! What a brave double, although he's
:13:53. > :14:00.only left the red he's missing, because he played the cue ball in a
:14:01. > :14:14.clever way. We've seen Judd steel frames. This would be another one.
:14:15. > :14:21.This is the key shot. He could bring both reds into play. He'd certainly
:14:22. > :14:31.love to develop one of them into a portable decision. But make sure you
:14:32. > :14:36.don't take your eye off the pot. -- pottable position. This is a tough
:14:37. > :14:40.one, the black is available. He has to fully commit and roll this along
:14:41. > :14:44.with the cushion. This is such a key shot. This is for- three or 5-2,
:14:45. > :15:03.arguably. Great shot. All the hard work done,
:15:04. > :15:12.you'd think. But this is the important mopping up another once
:15:13. > :15:26.you're to get. -- you're expected to get.
:15:27. > :15:33.Earlier in the match, frame a two and three, Marco had to sit in his
:15:34. > :15:42.seat and watch Judd clear up and pinch both frames.
:15:43. > :15:47.Judd Trump will be sitting in his chair, thinking that Marco Fu's got
:15:48. > :15:51.away with this. That one red he left over the pocket, and just got a
:15:52. > :15:56.fortunate snooker behind the blue. Couldn't have accounted for that.
:15:57. > :16:00.And that's the difference. He's got to clear that from his mind, because
:16:01. > :16:09.he still playing great snooker. Tough at the top.
:16:10. > :16:16.The standard continue, just gone a little bit too far. Taking it for
:16:17. > :16:25.granted, potting all these colours. The tricky little one is the brown
:16:26. > :16:29.to blow. -- to blue. Leaving himself distance and not enough angle to go
:16:30. > :16:46.around the table. A lifeline for Judd Trump.
:16:47. > :16:58.He did pretty good with that but this is still quite a thin one.
:16:59. > :17:05.What another cracking frame of snooker. These boys are treating us
:17:06. > :17:10.to some fabulous snooker here this afternoon. What a clearance to keep
:17:11. > :17:16.himself right in this year's Masters. Only one behind now, 4-3 to
:17:17. > :17:20.Judd Trump. If you're just tuning in, the question is, where have you
:17:21. > :17:23.been? It's not often you get members of the audience standing up, but a
:17:24. > :17:29.few people are standing up and giving Marco a massive round of
:17:30. > :17:34.applause. I clapped him, what a frame of snooker that was. I agree,
:17:35. > :17:38.a little bit of luck when he chipped the red. It was only shot he had,
:17:39. > :17:43.playing it thinking he might get behind the yellow, then he played a
:17:44. > :17:47.double as well. He played a wonderful shot here. Could have
:17:48. > :17:51.tried to clip it in, just went for the double. Look at the control of
:17:52. > :17:55.the cue ball. The position on the pink was perfect. Great clearance
:17:56. > :17:59.under pressure. As he's clearing up you think, he hasn't got the angle
:18:00. > :18:03.on this, he's digging himself a bigger hole. But the execution, the
:18:04. > :18:06.pink and black, tremendous. Got on the wrong side of the blue but there
:18:07. > :18:15.was an inevitability about that. You just thought he was going to get the
:18:16. > :18:17.clearance. The two players have played supremely well. This could be
:18:18. > :18:23.any scoreline you like. It's worth reminding our viewers... I put you
:18:24. > :18:30.on the spot in the practice room and you both went for 6-5. There's a
:18:31. > :18:34.reason why we implore you! Is there?! Answers on a postcard. Let's
:18:35. > :18:45.go back to Dennis and Steve. I'm certainly enjoying every minute
:18:46. > :18:55.of this match. The breaks have been fantastic. Judd Trump has had 79, 50
:18:56. > :19:02.three. Marco has had 56, 64 and 30, 88 and 50 eight. Brilliant stuff.
:19:03. > :19:09.He's come up a little bit sure and maybe the red is going to come to
:19:10. > :19:11.his rescue. Don't think he will get through to the one you can clearly
:19:12. > :19:47.see there. He can't. Not too sure what Marco is looking
:19:48. > :19:51.at here. Got to be kept with it, play off the side cushion to keep
:19:52. > :19:58.the white ball in the jaws of the top corner pocket. Just checking
:19:59. > :20:04.whether he fancies, whether Judd is going to go for a pot. He's changed
:20:05. > :20:10.his mind. This doesn't go very good, he's overhit it I think, no, he's
:20:11. > :20:22.OK. He thought he'd overhit it. Perhaps that does go, I don't know.
:20:23. > :20:32.A genuine chance, a bit easier than I thought it was at first glance.
:20:33. > :20:34.Judd will be disappointed he missed that. A great effort to get position
:20:35. > :20:54.on the black, as well. Psychology plays such a big part in
:20:55. > :21:00.the game of snooker. Judd would have been thinking in the last game, I'm
:21:01. > :21:06.going 5-2 in front here. It looked odds-on that he was going to do
:21:07. > :21:10.that, then all of a sudden he's back and he's just one in front. It's
:21:11. > :21:16.just keeping yourself sitting in your chair in the correct, positive
:21:17. > :21:18.frame of mind. It's an awful lot of work, mentally, to be able to do
:21:19. > :22:12.that. The one thing this whole match,
:22:13. > :22:18.Dennis, I don't think we've had, I don't want to bring it up really, I
:22:19. > :22:23.don't think we've had one kick. I can't think of one, can you? The
:22:24. > :22:26.table seems in good condition, balls playing wonderfully, I don't think
:22:27. > :22:32.it's been an issue in the tournament, so far. Once the players
:22:33. > :22:38.start trusting the balls to this level, the standard could go through
:22:39. > :22:43.the roof. Well, I think the standard from all the players has been
:22:44. > :22:50.superb. They are the top 16 players in the world. Playing at one table
:22:51. > :22:55.venue, no distractions. That's why we're seeing such a high standard.
:22:56. > :23:03.And that's why we're seeing some terrific crowds so far. We are only
:23:04. > :23:11.on day three and the place has been packed most days. They love their
:23:12. > :23:15.snooker in this part of the world. Of course, we've met people from all
:23:16. > :23:16.over the country who have attended from different parts of the world,
:23:17. > :23:27.also. Got a heavy contact there, but he's
:23:28. > :23:40.OK. I told you not to mention kicks, Steve!
:23:41. > :23:43.Is the first one, I think. Obviously as the table gets more and more
:23:44. > :23:47.finger marks and roughed up, that may have an effect. Don't know if
:23:48. > :24:00.that had anything to do with it. Table brushed and Ireland, or at
:24:01. > :24:06.least brushed, in the interval. -- and ironed.
:24:07. > :24:15.Definitely a chance here, for the highest break of the tournament. He
:24:16. > :24:35.won't necessarily be thinking about that. He has a frame on his brain.
:24:36. > :24:40.Didn't get that ideally right, that has he got the gap? Perfect.
:24:41. > :25:00.Couldn't have asked for better. Here's a prediction, Dennis. Even
:25:01. > :25:04.without red on the side cushion which looks pretty acute on the side
:25:05. > :25:06.pocket, highest break of the tournament coming up. That's a big
:25:07. > :25:15.prediction, Steve. But the way he's playing, you
:25:16. > :25:20.wouldn't put it past him. The main thing is to secure the frame and get
:25:21. > :25:24.himself back all square. From 3-0 down, that is quite an achievement.
:25:25. > :25:46.This high standard continues. Marco just had a quick glance round
:25:47. > :25:54.and he knows if he pops this red, Judd will need a snooker. 132 is the
:25:55. > :25:57.highest break so far this year. Stuart Bingham made that last night
:25:58. > :26:11.when he finished up losing 6-1 to Joe Perry.
:26:12. > :26:20.I don't suppose losing 6-1 he'll be disappointed, he had a new baby
:26:21. > :26:25.daughter on Saturday, so he would have been glad to get back home and
:26:26. > :26:28.see his wife and daughter, who was born on Saturday. Not great on the
:26:29. > :26:38.black. So, lost ideal position. Can he hold
:26:39. > :26:55.for the blue? Too wide for that. A lower scoring colour, dropping a
:26:56. > :27:24.few points. And while he's mopping this up, it's
:27:25. > :27:26.getting to the stage where he may make the highest break of the event,
:27:27. > :27:34.but it may not end up staying that. A nice little prize for the highest
:27:35. > :28:05.break, ?10,000. Well, there's another magnificent
:28:06. > :28:13.century. It is Marco's second in this year 's Masters. 137 now...
:28:14. > :28:18.That's not great. It's going to be difficult now. 12
:28:19. > :28:49.centuries so far on day three. Not quite. What a shame! A fabulous
:28:50. > :28:53.effort, and that century break has got the man from Hong Kong all
:28:54. > :29:02.square. It's four frames each, what a match. 12 centuries so far in the
:29:03. > :29:06.Masters. We could be an course to see the breaking of the record. If
:29:07. > :29:13.they keep playing like this, it was an believable match, wonderful
:29:14. > :29:16.exhibition of how to keep close, tight cue ball control. Steve was
:29:17. > :29:19.nearly right, I thought he was going to get the highest break as well.
:29:20. > :29:23.Only nine players in the history of the sport have made over 400
:29:24. > :29:28.centuries and Marco Fu is one of them, as is Judd Trump. If we said
:29:29. > :29:31.to most people, tell me the nine people, Marco Fu's name possibly
:29:32. > :29:35.wouldn't be in there. But we know how good he is. How has he got
:29:36. > :29:46.himself back into this? Composure and confidence is a big thing. We
:29:47. > :29:49.spoke numerous times about that when in December against John Higgins and
:29:50. > :29:52.how well he played from 4-1 down to reel off nine frames in a row. He's
:29:53. > :29:55.kept that going here. He looks in total control. Even when he was 3-0
:29:56. > :29:59.down, he didn't panic, didn't push the boat out, just waited for his
:30:00. > :30:03.chance in every chance he's got, he's taken. It's been fantastic up
:30:04. > :30:08.until now. Now we are going to learn so much about this man's composure.
:30:09. > :30:12.Yes, one thing he doesn't want to do is turn up to this event being one
:30:13. > :30:16.of the top three we've got and let it go in the first round. It could
:30:17. > :30:19.happen. To be honest, it's no disgrace whoever loses this match
:30:20. > :30:23.because the standard has been so high. We have a best-of-3. The crowd
:30:24. > :30:30.loving it, a bit noisy and there, Denis?
:30:31. > :30:33.Just one fella got excited and shouted, it's nice to have the
:30:34. > :30:38.atmosphere and a bit of noise between frames but not on the shot.
:30:39. > :30:44.It was tried a few years ago to play the game of snooker with lots of
:30:45. > :31:03.noise during play. It doesn't work at this game.
:31:04. > :31:15.I was very lucky to go to India, where the game of snooker was
:31:16. > :31:17.invented. I was playing on the table where the first frame of snooker was
:31:18. > :32:33.played. A very emotional. And what happened, did he take a
:32:34. > :32:45.slightly? He was only dropping it in and walked away very quickly.
:32:46. > :32:56.He was playing a delicate little cannon. We've seen that a few times.
:32:57. > :33:01.This could really open them up. There are plenty of loose threads
:33:02. > :33:12.but he will probably open even more of them up.
:33:13. > :33:29.He's certainly done that, that's for sure. Knowing full well it is not
:33:30. > :33:36.guaranteed position of the ball. Once again, this short as well,
:33:37. > :33:41.opening more reds up, now look at them. Two shots later he's got the
:33:42. > :34:59.frame at his mercy. Absolutely dead straight, as you can
:35:00. > :35:06.see. He knew he was going to make contact
:35:07. > :35:29.with that red. It was then enough. Judd Trump looks to be in fantastic
:35:30. > :35:40.form. Still have no idea about the outcome of this match. How often do
:35:41. > :35:47.you play so well? Still the potential to come unstuck. I think
:35:48. > :36:08.he's got the edge over Marco Fu. He could already have won the match.
:36:09. > :36:16.That's how well he's played, even though he's made elementary
:36:17. > :36:21.mistakes. They've both put on an unbelievable display for us. There's
:36:22. > :36:48.been a break of over 50 in every single frame.
:36:49. > :37:02.Short of pace but only needs this and the colour. Really doing the
:37:03. > :37:32.damage. Bit of a stretch. He will be delighted with the
:37:33. > :37:44.outcome of that. It was a little bit risky. Could have caught that read a
:37:45. > :38:03.fraction thicker. That is to win the frame. Arguably, this is to win the
:38:04. > :38:15.frame. Absolutely stunning, this snooker we are watching this
:38:16. > :38:21.afternoon. It has been fascinating. Marco Fu has been playing a great
:38:22. > :38:27.rearguard action. Really digging in. Even though it has been fast and
:38:28. > :38:41.furious, it is a clash of styles. Different storylines unfolding.
:38:42. > :39:03.Judd Trump has moved that read and has a chance to make his second
:39:04. > :39:05.century break. You run out of words to describe what we are watching
:39:06. > :39:58.this afternoon. He's not going to bother with the
:39:59. > :40:17.black. What a fabulous response from Judd Trump.
:40:18. > :40:23.This is remarkable stuff. I said we would learn about Judd Trump's
:40:24. > :40:29.composure but also the bravery. He's been in front and look what he's
:40:30. > :40:38.come up with. Fantastic cue ball control. Marco Fu will be
:40:39. > :40:47.disappointed. That is all it takes. You've got to see fair play to Judd
:40:48. > :40:56.Trump. He was up against that. They've been like two boxers, going
:40:57. > :41:01.round and round. It is not over yet. They've got a few frames. Doug Trump
:41:02. > :41:12.has got his nose in front and he needs one more. Every time Marco Fu
:41:13. > :41:19.looks like he might go in front he makes a mistake. This has got one of
:41:20. > :41:27.those 6-5 results written all over it. The speed they are playing at.
:41:28. > :41:34.They've gone through those mainframes, very little time. He's
:41:35. > :41:44.playing at Lake 14 seconds every shot. Even Marco Fu, under 20
:41:45. > :41:48.seconds. Next time you go in your snooker club, plain mainframes of
:41:49. > :41:53.snooker and see how long you have been there. I spoke to a few fans
:41:54. > :41:58.and they said they wanted to come to this match because they knew it
:41:59. > :42:07.would be high quality. It has that sort of recipe about it. He's very
:42:08. > :42:14.consistent. It had the makings of a great match. In a tournament like
:42:15. > :42:19.the Masters, what sort of effect does it have on you when you've only
:42:20. > :42:23.got a few days to recover? I don't think it will have any sort of
:42:24. > :42:28.effect. Whoever comes through this match will be bursting with
:42:29. > :42:38.confidence and cannot wait for this. It will set them up for the rest of
:42:39. > :42:40.the week. In other sports they say, when you're grading yourself through
:42:41. > :42:52.tournaments you become battle hardened. We have seen this before
:42:53. > :42:55.finals, Neil Robinson, with the greatest of respect to Sean, he was
:42:56. > :43:01.out punch to. But not in first round. You have the euphoria of
:43:02. > :43:07.winning, the confidence of it and you will kick on from there. You've
:43:08. > :43:15.been in this position. He looks up at the scoreboard. What goes through
:43:16. > :43:19.his mind? Trying to force your opponent to give you a moment and
:43:20. > :43:28.know that when the opening comes along you are able to take it. They
:43:29. > :43:43.know what they are watching. It has been a treat.
:43:44. > :43:53.I think seven of the name frames have been just one visit. -- nine
:43:54. > :44:06.frames. The crowd has been treated to an absolutely special match here.
:44:07. > :44:18.An important flick on the blue. Has he got a problem with the brown? You
:44:19. > :44:29.expect great snooker but it's not always the case. You get matches
:44:30. > :44:35.that are this quality. Guaranteed in the 80s there was some scrappy
:44:36. > :44:39.stuff. The cloth is lively, the balls are not getting tied up and
:44:40. > :44:43.when you can and into the reds with the very like cloth the game opens
:44:44. > :44:49.up more than it used to. I'm not disagreeing with that. It is a
:44:50. > :45:01.chance to open up and get on the black. I know they are all in
:45:02. > :45:18.clusters but it is a chance for the match. It's an early chance. Watch
:45:19. > :45:21.the pink. They've been winning the frames with one visit. This frame
:45:22. > :45:37.will take them into the next round. Can he produce a match-winning
:45:38. > :45:55.break? Streams of raids. It may cause some problems.
:45:56. > :46:17.What a time to pick out a long part there. Obviously getting closer to
:46:18. > :46:29.the finishing line. The tension rises. He knows he is not far away
:46:30. > :46:33.from a place in the quarterfinals if he can keep this together and
:46:34. > :46:47.controlling the cue ball. It will get more difficult from now on.
:46:48. > :46:53.He just needs one good positional shot to open the side. Perhaps a
:46:54. > :47:11.cannon on one of the five reds. Now what? Can he get through the
:47:12. > :47:26.gap? Yes, he's on it. He went through that gap and he is on this
:47:27. > :47:44.gap. He's already 36 in front. This next shot could pave the way for a
:47:45. > :47:46.match-winning break. He missed that. Luckily for him he did not get the
:47:47. > :48:13.cannon in the way he intended. He's back at the table and he's got
:48:14. > :48:19.a chance to lay a telling safety shot. Does he try and get it tight
:48:20. > :48:33.in behind the yellow or is that risky? Does he just play for the
:48:34. > :48:57.politician? I think the commission is probably a good choice.
:48:58. > :49:05.With the black over the pocket it means everything is going to be safe
:49:06. > :49:14.in that corner so it takes pressure off the safety shot. Is there a
:49:15. > :49:27.chance of potting this off the black? Trying to play in-off the
:49:28. > :49:29.black? He's got the safety in mind. Might even go direct but I don't
:49:30. > :49:39.think he's playing that way. I'm not sure what he played, perhaps
:49:40. > :50:01.he was trying to shift the black? Is the crossed ball-on? It could
:50:02. > :50:08.possibly be on. That is far too risky but the cross double could be
:50:09. > :50:15.on. He is coming round to look at that. I'm not sure that helps but
:50:16. > :50:52.he's trying to telegraph what Judd Trump does.
:50:53. > :51:06.He's possibly getting in behind the brown.
:51:07. > :51:15.A bit short of pace. Perhaps he was hoping he would get the position if
:51:16. > :51:33.he potted it. This is a bit dangerous. Just
:51:34. > :52:18.playing the red below. Not great to play into this corner,
:52:19. > :52:30.it is the red button will part into the right middle. Maybe coming off
:52:31. > :52:34.the top condition, that is an option he's been looking at. He is standing
:52:35. > :52:44.down the line of this. Can have a couple of goes at it. He's got a
:52:45. > :52:57.fair chance of getting this right. With a bit more pace this would be
:52:58. > :53:19.excellent but this is a possibility. Marvellous. He's come to fire. Could
:53:20. > :53:31.not keep that cue ball from trundling down. The white ball is
:53:32. > :53:35.going to do some work. If he does not pop the green it will cannon out
:53:36. > :53:42.to the red so it is a thin one but I think he will take on. He cannot
:53:43. > :54:00.refuse this black. I don't think he can play it's no -- play it slow. He
:54:01. > :54:08.is. Great shot. Very unlucky. That is a difficult shot to play. Could
:54:09. > :54:23.have gone off-line. That has left this shot very missable.
:54:24. > :54:35.One good positional shot and he could be right in amongst them. This
:54:36. > :54:45.looks pretty good, needs to pull up a little bit, he's played it
:54:46. > :54:55.perfectly. Marco Fu has played some fantastic pressure shops and just
:54:56. > :55:02.stroking the ball in. Much easier to power up pressure shot in but he is
:55:03. > :55:05.supremely confident coming off the back of that victory in Scotland.
:55:06. > :55:12.What a match this would be for him to win. Really up against that for
:55:13. > :55:16.most of the day. What a frame this would be for him to win to take it
:55:17. > :55:53.into the decider. You don't know how this will go.
:55:54. > :56:13.I'm not sure he is ideally placed. He could screw it back in. Anyway
:56:14. > :56:25.there and he would have struggled. Great opportunity. Judd Trump, first
:56:26. > :56:35.in this frame. Messed up an ideal position so he cannot complain. It
:56:36. > :56:43.has been punch and counterpunch. I thought Judd Trump was going to go
:56:44. > :56:57.on and clinch the match. He got that all wrong.
:56:58. > :57:03.Any harder and it would have gone up. Look at this going in-off the
:57:04. > :57:52.jaw. Another clear run to the winning
:57:53. > :58:09.post. What angle does he having the black? It looks perfect.
:58:10. > :58:27.I thought that went but perhaps not. He's not ready yet.
:58:28. > :58:33.If it is this tight then it's a big decision to risk playing it because
:58:34. > :58:51.ideally you'd like to play that read by the pink to create.
:58:52. > :58:57.This thread can go in but not from the position he was in. If he does
:58:58. > :59:09.it from up the table he will get it easily. If he plays it shorter, he's
:59:10. > :59:18.got the flick. Got just enough power. You'd expect him to get on
:59:19. > :59:48.the colour. That kick spoiled things. He thought
:59:49. > :00:03.he'd missed that when he got the heavy contact. He put a bit of
:00:04. > :00:10.right-hand spin on it. This is one of the reasons you don't play with
:00:11. > :00:14.the plain bowl. The boys in the studio will have a big smile on
:00:15. > :00:19.their face because they both predicted 5- for either way.
:00:20. > :00:25.One of them is going to be right. One of these players is going to
:00:26. > :00:31.lose this match and which ever one it is is fully justified in going
:00:32. > :00:36.outside and smashing their head against the wall, because it's just
:00:37. > :00:40.been such a fantastic game. An exhibition type shot from Marco Fu.
:00:41. > :00:46.This has been a delight. I've enjoyed every single minute. What a
:00:47. > :00:50.standard they've produced. They both had two century breaks. Judd had a
:00:51. > :00:54.chance to close the match out. It doesn't matter about the pink. The
:00:55. > :01:01.man from Hong Kong is still in it. He takes that frame with a break of
:01:02. > :01:08.80 and we are all square, 5-5. You can't beat a decider.
:01:09. > :01:14.If the BBC World Snooker are listening, I want 50% of this. What
:01:15. > :01:18.a cracking afternoon. We see it from tournaments and think how we can to
:01:19. > :01:22.top this match that much but this has been wonderful stuff. Judd Mr
:01:23. > :01:26.black off the spot. He's in the balls, trying to play a little
:01:27. > :01:35.considered cannon here and just takes his eye of the black. Marco
:01:36. > :01:39.goes on to win the frame. This is a wonderful shot, Marco had to make
:01:40. > :01:45.the Cameron on the pink. Beautifully played nicely on the red. A
:01:46. > :01:50.wonderful from him. I think this does it justice, it's fair it goes
:01:51. > :01:54.to a deciding frame because both players have played absolutely
:01:55. > :01:57.sublime throughout this match. It's been one blow after another, as
:01:58. > :02:01.Steve said in commentary. Great to watch, the crowd have loved it and
:02:02. > :02:04.two players playing at the top of their games. You can look too much
:02:05. > :02:12.into statistics that when you look back at the nine matches Trump has
:02:13. > :02:16.beta Marco Fu in that they've been one-sided, but this has been a point
:02:17. > :02:20.at. Exactly, and it shows you how well Marco Fu has played in the last
:02:21. > :02:24.12 months or so, very consistent. And I say every time, or you want in
:02:25. > :02:29.a final frame decider is a chance, that's all you want. Here we go,
:02:30. > :02:34.final frame decider, back to Denis and Steve.
:02:35. > :02:39.And what a reception both players got, and they had a traditional
:02:40. > :02:42.handshake between the final frame decider. Not the best break off from
:02:43. > :02:56.Judd. Where is the red going? Where is the
:02:57. > :03:05.red going?! Wow, what a fluke that is. Settled down please, thank you.
:03:06. > :03:19.Amazing. That type of shot isn't necessarily Marco Fu's strength. Had
:03:20. > :03:24.to hit that pretty hard. It was fairly straight. What an
:03:25. > :03:29.opportunity. Do you remember the shot like that, Steve, many years
:03:30. > :03:35.ago at the Crucible Theatre? Chris played a similar shot mind on to
:03:36. > :03:43.make the first maximum break at the Crucible Theatre, ever?
:03:44. > :03:50.Well, Judd Trump had first opportunity in the last frame to
:03:51. > :03:57.clinch the match. Now it is Marco's term. I know there's a long way to
:03:58. > :04:09.go. He's only potted a couple of balls, but it's a chance.
:04:10. > :04:25.Cue ball trundled on a little bit more than he would have wanted.
:04:26. > :04:32.Well, they're certainly not going into the centre of the pocket.
:04:33. > :04:37.Looking at his head, his body language, he's definitely not on it.
:04:38. > :04:43.If he'd been a bit more straight, black he could have played it with a
:04:44. > :04:50.bit more force. He chose to play the soft, controlling cannon into the
:04:51. > :04:54.pack, but that cue ball just snuck behind the red.
:04:55. > :04:58.That's the way he likes to do it, but most players would have played
:04:59. > :05:01.it, as he said, with a lot more pace and that wouldn't have happened
:05:02. > :05:06.there. Different styles of break-building.
:05:07. > :05:11.You can't say Marco Fu is a slouch in the break-building department.
:05:12. > :05:16.He reminds me of the great Ray Reardon the way he breaks, Ray used
:05:17. > :05:23.to be like that, six times world champion.
:05:24. > :05:32.Judd comes back to the table a lot earlier than he expected, or would
:05:33. > :05:45.have hoped for. Mind you, I'm just thinking, if
:05:46. > :05:51.Marco had to have gone on to win the match after that fluke... It
:05:52. > :05:53.wouldn't have been very fair, really. But that's the way the game
:05:54. > :06:10.can go at times. Didn't waste any time, picked out a
:06:11. > :06:22.shot to nothing. Deliberately played short of the baulk line, giving
:06:23. > :06:29.himself another opportunity. He's spotted eight out of ten long pots
:06:30. > :06:33.this afternoon, and this red at the back of the bunch, is available. The
:06:34. > :06:38.black is on from the right corner. He missed a similar one by putting
:06:39. > :06:45.more pace into it before. Gone fraction to that left jaw, but
:06:46. > :06:48.always in. Can he get himself on that red next to the black? That
:06:49. > :06:55.would clear the black spot area completely. You see, where the white
:06:56. > :07:00.is at the moment, if he was there he would be on the red. He has an angle
:07:01. > :07:06.to stun in and leave that red on. He's just looking at other options,
:07:07. > :07:11.but he'd like to get that red out of the way, if he could. He's trying to
:07:12. > :07:20.work out a way he can go about this break without playing a cannon into
:07:21. > :07:25.the pack from the black, I think. Sometimes when the reds are all
:07:26. > :07:34.apart from each other, eight cannon into the pack is not as easy to
:07:35. > :07:39.predict. -- a cannon. That's not great, just about got out
:07:40. > :07:46.from that black cushion. So, big shot.
:07:47. > :07:47.I think you can just drop this in and get a cannon and beyond one.
:07:48. > :08:07.Yes. Pretty good. Lost control a little bit, but he's
:08:08. > :08:12.got the option of the red into the middle pocket. This is a great
:08:13. > :08:16.chance, he's certainly gone favourite in the frame.
:08:17. > :08:28.Very nicely done. That's amazing. I'm looking Judd
:08:29. > :08:35.Trump's breaks 102, 87, 67, 59, 112... And there's every chance he's
:08:36. > :08:42.going to lose this unbelievably exciting match. 50 ahead, still
:08:43. > :08:46.plenty of red is available. He's played superbly well. Just that
:08:47. > :08:52.black off the spot in the previous frame.
:08:53. > :09:30.Yes, most times in a match, the loser goes back and analyses where
:09:31. > :09:39.they went wrong. Not too sure that man there has anything to question
:09:40. > :09:45.about his state's play. -- his day's play. What a great match.
:09:46. > :10:00.What a performance, Dennis even that shot he was hampered, it
:10:01. > :10:06.wasn't straightforward. Such a cool customer. Amazing.
:10:07. > :10:18.If his name was Luke, I'd call him cool hand Luke. He's just stolen the
:10:19. > :10:24.match away from Judd Trump, who looked to be... You could argue if
:10:25. > :10:26.he kept that form up, he could have won the tournament.
:10:27. > :10:34.What an incredible performance. APPLAUSE
:10:35. > :10:42.You can teach technique all you like, but you can't teach match
:10:43. > :10:46.temperament like this. And Judd is a very popular player but this crowd
:10:47. > :11:05.here gives Marco a terrific reception when he potted frame ball.
:11:06. > :11:14.Well, it may be a long time before you see a match of this calibre. It
:11:15. > :11:16.happens all the time in The Masters, always something crops up. But this
:11:17. > :11:28.has been exceptional. Could he go out making his third
:11:29. > :11:44.century? He's a very modest young man, is
:11:45. > :11:49.Marco Fu. And his coach will be delighted, Terry Griffiths's son
:11:50. > :11:54.Wayne is here. Wayne living in Hong Kong and works with Marco out there.
:11:55. > :12:00.He will be absolutely delighted to see his player performing like this.
:12:01. > :12:02.It was just a great win for Marco Fu, that keeps his momentum going
:12:03. > :12:13.after doing so well in Scotland. The crowd has absolutely loved this.
:12:14. > :12:15.A pleasure to commentate on it and it's just been a monumental
:12:16. > :12:26.standard. I think both players deserve a
:12:27. > :12:29.standing ovation for this performance, and I'm sure they'll
:12:30. > :12:37.get it. It just doesn't get any better than
:12:38. > :12:49.this. Brown and blue for his third century
:12:50. > :13:09.in the match. And it will be the 14th in this
:13:10. > :13:18.year's Masters. APPLAUSE Absolutely brilliant from Marco Fu!
:13:19. > :13:24.Doesn't matter about the pink. What a match these two players have
:13:25. > :13:29.treated us to hear this afternoon. Both players at the top of their
:13:30. > :13:33.form, one has made two century breaks on the other has made three.
:13:34. > :13:39.They are getting a standing ovation, and don't they deserve it? In the
:13:40. > :13:45.end, the gentleman Marco Fu wins the match in the deciding frame, 6-5.
:13:46. > :13:48.Amazing, what a match. I'm looking out at the crowd, looking at them
:13:49. > :13:55.clambering to get a signature for Marco Fu. I saw people standing on
:13:56. > :13:58.their feet, applauding, with our hands over their heads, just
:13:59. > :14:03.applauding this man's performance today. Just incredible. Both
:14:04. > :14:06.players, because to be honest that's what made the match. I feel sorry
:14:07. > :14:10.for Judd a bit, he never got a single chance in the last frame but
:14:11. > :14:15.boy did Marco Fu take them well. It might have started with a fluke but
:14:16. > :14:19.it didn't get him over the line does a great long pot and going on to win
:14:20. > :14:24.the match. It was a wonderful spectacle afternoon. Two and half
:14:25. > :14:27.days of Masters snooker and 14th century breaks. Incredible,
:14:28. > :14:32.incredible standard. And as you said, and a half days into the
:14:33. > :14:38.tournament. We've still got another four or five days to go. On for a
:14:39. > :14:41.vintage Masters. What's going on? He's 39 years old and playing the
:14:42. > :14:46.best snooker of his career. That's as good as he can play. I asked you
:14:47. > :14:51.before we came on air, having won the Scottish open in the manner he
:14:52. > :14:55.did, if you walk into a competition like this thinking, come on, I can
:14:56. > :14:59.beat the rest of you? That's what it does. When you win tournaments like
:15:00. > :15:03.that... It gives you great confidence. Well done.
:15:04. > :15:07.Congratulations, take a seat. You never led the match until you
:15:08. > :15:12.actually won it. An incredible performance. What is that down too?
:15:13. > :15:17.I think I did it the hard way, I missed three balls and 3-0 down,
:15:18. > :15:22.maybe not the first frame but I could have won the second and third
:15:23. > :15:28.frame. At the end of it I felt OK. I just tried to concentrate on the
:15:29. > :15:36.good things I'd been doing. Maybe 94% pot success rate. It was not so
:15:37. > :15:39.bad. Maybe if I could capitalise on some of the chances amongst the
:15:40. > :15:42.balls, score heavily, then I could get back into the match. You made a
:15:43. > :15:47.good point halfway through the match. He said, you find yourself
:15:48. > :15:50.down and you've been playing really well. Word their lapses in
:15:51. > :15:56.concentration, a few nerves early on? Yes, maybe a few nerves, because
:15:57. > :16:00.no matter how many tournaments you've won before, this is
:16:01. > :16:04.different, coming to the Crucible or coming to the Masters, they give you
:16:05. > :16:08.an extra buzz. Sometimes it can work against you, if you're not feeling
:16:09. > :16:13.that great. At the beginning I was feeling the nerves, definitely. The
:16:14. > :16:16.good thing is, I said earlier, even though you are behind in the match,
:16:17. > :16:20.the fact you are playing so well, it's not quite the same thing. If
:16:21. > :16:23.you are behind in the match and don't have any form it's different,
:16:24. > :16:27.but when you are playing as well as you are currently, you always feel
:16:28. > :16:33.you are still in the game? Yes, when I'm in good form I think I handled
:16:34. > :16:37.the mistakes, a lot better. If I've missed one shot it's over and I feel
:16:38. > :16:40.vulnerable but now I feel a bit stronger. Miss two or three, it
:16:41. > :16:44.doesn't matter, just keep going and wait for the next chance. Judd
:16:45. > :16:47.played really well today. When you won that match in Scotland against
:16:48. > :16:53.John Higgins, you came from behind there, why do thinking about that
:16:54. > :16:57.match during this match? Thinking, I did it against John Higgins in his
:16:58. > :17:03.own backyard, I can do out there? Differently, when I was 3-0 down I
:17:04. > :17:05.was thinking of the match I played against John Higgins in Scotland.
:17:06. > :17:10.Not quite similar because John made three centuries. But today I should
:17:11. > :17:15.have won two or three. That's the difference. I know in the back and
:17:16. > :17:20.-- of my mind I can do it. Sometimes I play better when I'm behind. You
:17:21. > :17:23.go through spells in your career. Mark Allan next and that will be
:17:24. > :17:28.another cracking match, I should think, what is your record like with
:17:29. > :17:31.him? I'm not too sure, pretty even, I think. I'm happy to still be in
:17:32. > :17:35.the tournament, I could have gone home. The way Judd was playing, the
:17:36. > :17:42.way it went in the beginning, I could have gone home 6-2, 6-3, but
:17:43. > :17:45.I'm still in it. We were talking in the mid-session interval, 39 years
:17:46. > :17:49.old now. I hope you don't mind that going out onto a vision, it's gone
:17:50. > :17:54.out twice. 39 and still playing as well as you are, what's the secret
:17:55. > :18:01.of your success? Just looking at the players, the likes of Mark Davis,
:18:02. > :18:07.Joe Perry, Stuart Bingham and Ronnie and John Higgins, still playing very
:18:08. > :18:11.well, if not the best... John Higgins probably playing the best
:18:12. > :18:15.snooker of his career. We can still do it. You certainly can! A number
:18:16. > :18:20.of our viewers, they like your watch. They say they haven't seen a
:18:21. > :18:25.watch that size since a grandfather in the household. It is a beautiful
:18:26. > :18:33.watch. I designed this watch for a Hong Kong watch company. You can see
:18:34. > :18:39.the mechanics inside. Sorry, this is the BBC, no advertising! A few of
:18:40. > :18:44.the viewers say they like you watch. You brought it up! If you would like
:18:45. > :18:51.to send us one, we will make sure it goes to the right person. LAUGHTER
:18:52. > :18:56.I've not got one. Well played today, you have thrilled this crowd and as
:18:57. > :18:59.in the studio and Dennis and Steve loved as well. Fantastic
:19:00. > :19:02.performance, good luck against Mark Allen.
:19:03. > :19:05.Tonight is all about Neil Robertson taking on Ali Carter and earlier
:19:06. > :19:10.today John sat down with meal for a quick chat. -- with Neil Robertson.
:19:11. > :19:16.quick chat. -- with Neil How is the form? If you asked me in
:19:17. > :19:23.October or November, not too great. But since then... I've worked very
:19:24. > :19:28.hard over Christmas and just before Christmas, lost in the last 16 to
:19:29. > :19:32.Marco Fu 4-3 in Scotland and he went on to win the tournament. It was a
:19:33. > :19:36.fantastic match and I could have quite easily got to the finals
:19:37. > :19:39.there. The form is back, played very well in the championship league, a
:19:40. > :19:44.couple of groups heading into the Masters now. Yeah, Phil really good
:19:45. > :19:50.about my game. You made a lot of centuries in that as well? I did.
:19:51. > :19:53.Defence of 100 centuries this season... But the way I started the
:19:54. > :20:00.season, it's probably not achievable. I racked up few. 11 or
:20:01. > :20:03.12 last week. The scoring is back and I feel really good, I've never
:20:04. > :20:08.practised as hard over Christmas as I did. The season started well, a
:20:09. > :20:12.winner early on and a couple of semifinals, but not like you, you've
:20:13. > :20:16.been very inconsistent. Is there any reason it hasn't been happening for
:20:17. > :20:21.you? When I went back home to Australia, I was back home for four
:20:22. > :20:25.weeks, at a period of time when other players were sort of getting
:20:26. > :20:30.back into things. I'm taking that time. When I came back, I was still
:20:31. > :20:34.kind of not ready to get back into competing at the highest level. I
:20:35. > :20:39.went out to China. Had a bit of a nightmare out there. Didn't really
:20:40. > :20:42.want to play the game. I had some bad results and that sort of form
:20:43. > :20:48.continued for another couple of events, wait you couldn't practised
:20:49. > :20:51.properly. Got back from China, two or days and you're up to Preston for
:20:52. > :20:55.qualifying, back home for a few games days, here and there. Hard to
:20:56. > :21:00.get momentum. Nice I had a period of where I practice focus on practising
:21:01. > :21:04.on the practice table. Playing as well as ever now. Some players,
:21:05. > :21:09.things aren't going quite well and may ease off the gas and take it
:21:10. > :21:14.easy. You're not one of those, you graft harder? Especially over the
:21:15. > :21:17.last couple of months. I've been practising so hard. I was in Norway
:21:18. > :21:22.over Christmas, I've never done that before. I feel as though my game is
:21:23. > :21:26.in really good shape and hopefully it's not going to be too long before
:21:27. > :21:30.I pick up another big one. This tournament, this venue has been good
:21:31. > :21:34.for you. Three finals for you in the Masters. What you like about it so
:21:35. > :21:38.much? I think this tournament in general, the top players love
:21:39. > :21:41.playing here. This venue is absolutely amazing. Ever since we've
:21:42. > :21:46.moved here I think it's been a real positive for the players. Great
:21:47. > :21:51.crowds every game, one-table set-up, that's what the top players really
:21:52. > :21:54.want to play in. It's a visit ornament with such fantastic
:21:55. > :21:58.history, as well. What is your expectation for this tournament this
:21:59. > :22:04.week? To play as well as I can. I've prepared as well as I possibly can.
:22:05. > :22:07.So whatever happens on the table, I can't be disappointed, because I
:22:08. > :22:11.have put in the work. Looking for a really good performance, like I have
:22:12. > :22:15.done here in previous years. Good chat and Neil Robertson against Ali
:22:16. > :22:23.Carter is live on the red button, highlights at 12.15 on BBC Two. If
:22:24. > :22:26.you want to plan your afternoon tomorrow, two former Masters
:22:27. > :22:30.champion is go head-to-head at one o'clock tomorrow. Mark Selby taking
:22:31. > :22:37.on Mark Williams and Mark has been for a drive with Steve Davis.
:22:38. > :23:05.How are you doing? Put your seat belt on. Click! Can't see a thing.
:23:06. > :23:12.Hold on. I need some headlights. Oh my God! I don't even know how to put
:23:13. > :23:21.the headlights on. Come on now, well done. Yes! Well done. That's not
:23:22. > :23:28.headlights, is it? Is it too cold for you? It's all right. Apart from
:23:29. > :23:33.that... Keep your eyes on the road! You wouldn't have a hobby you take
:23:34. > :23:41.on the road, something you could occupy your time with? No, not
:23:42. > :23:45.really. I've been known to go up the road and play bingo in the evenings
:23:46. > :23:49.or the afternoons. Is that true question do you have your own pens?
:23:50. > :23:56.Yes, my own pens in a case with my name on it. They are not just pens,
:23:57. > :24:02.they are called dabbers. What is the biggest prize you've ever won at
:24:03. > :24:04.bingo? Not much, about 380 quid. How much do you think you've spent at
:24:05. > :24:19.bingo? Thousands! Break, Steve. Reactions of gone. What's that? I
:24:20. > :24:31.don't know. What's that noise? Parking sensors. Parking sensors?
:24:32. > :24:39.Green. LAUGHTER What was that?! The bus has
:24:40. > :24:46.overtaken me, look! You just got overtaken by a boss and he's pulling
:24:47. > :24:51.away from it. It's the 600 B. It's late. Where are the parking sensors?
:24:52. > :24:53.Surely you should know that before you get in. Now you've put the air
:24:54. > :25:06.conditioning on. Read red, red! Get me out of this car.
:25:07. > :25:12.You just run a red light. It wasn't red, it was amber. That's the first
:25:13. > :25:16.time I'd seen you... Is just getting bored, just trying to stop the noise
:25:17. > :25:20.stopped I prefer you driving me than Stephen Hendry driving me. If you
:25:21. > :25:25.ever get in a car with him, with gears, you will never, never
:25:26. > :25:27.experienced anything like it in your life. Oh no, there's a police car.
:25:28. > :25:45.There you go. Don't take it out and gear...
:25:46. > :25:51.Terrible. You want to get that sorted for the next player. Second
:25:52. > :25:57.is here somewhere. Somewhere. You are one of the seniors now, aren't
:25:58. > :26:00.you? That's amazing. I remember playing you when you were an
:26:01. > :26:06.ignorant potter and all of a sudden you turned into a player. I don't
:26:07. > :26:09.remember him saying when I won the Welsh Open and dumped him 5-1 along
:26:10. > :26:18.the way that I'll never win another tournament. It turns out he was spot
:26:19. > :26:22.on. Fair play. But he denies ever saying that. But he definitely said
:26:23. > :26:31.it. So what upsets you? Do you get upset
:26:32. > :26:35.about anything? Not that much. You don't get upset on Twitter, you are
:26:36. > :26:41.a wind-up merchant. I don't think I've ever been wound up in my life.
:26:42. > :26:44.Loads of people have tried. They can say absolutely anything to me, to my
:26:45. > :26:48.face, on Twitter, it makes no difference to me, I don't give a
:26:49. > :26:56.monkey. Not much gets me going, snooker certainly don't. If I'm
:26:57. > :27:00.watching snooker in the house, and this is yourself included in this.
:27:01. > :27:05.Oh dear, don't tell me. Commentators, and the stuff you say,
:27:06. > :27:09.not just you but near enough everyone, I just feel like pulling
:27:10. > :27:14.my hair out. Sometimes I have to switch it off or turn it down.
:27:15. > :27:20.Including Stephen Hendry? Including Stephen Hendry. You could do a
:27:21. > :27:27.better job? Absolutely not! LAUGHTER I'm just happy to be alive. You
:27:28. > :27:32.could have murdered about four people. LAUGHTER
:27:33. > :27:40.Jesus. It's not easy doing everything. Knocked two cyclists
:27:41. > :27:41.off, two old people walking across the road... That's why I haven't got
:27:42. > :27:52.a licence! I think the less said about Steve
:27:53. > :27:57.Davis' driving... Terrible driver. And Mark Williams' language.
:27:58. > :28:01.Delighted to get out safe and sound if Steve is driving. Mark Selby for
:28:02. > :28:06.Mark Williams tomorrow. Looking at the roll of honour, five Masters
:28:07. > :28:11.titles between them. Two class acts, one who is in his pomp. Mark
:28:12. > :28:15.Williams around the 2000 era, former world number one against the current
:28:16. > :28:21.number one who is incredibly difficult to beat. Mark Williams,
:28:22. > :28:25.1998 his first Masters title. Against Stephen Hendry on that black
:28:26. > :28:29.ball finish. A tough match for him and a tough match for Mark Selby.
:28:30. > :28:34.Mark Williams, you never know what will happen but he's fantastic. Hard
:28:35. > :28:38.to beat what we've seen today? You never know. This tournament has a
:28:39. > :28:42.habit of throwing up great matches. Fantastic. Thank you for your
:28:43. > :28:46.company today. Every ball of the Masters live on the BBC from seven
:28:47. > :28:49.o'clock. Highlights with Hazel from midnight. From all of us, goodbye.
