:01:07. > :01:27.Arcelor is celebrating 100 years since they became a North London

:01:27. > :01:37.club. -- Arsenal. Here in Cardiff the Welsh capital is buzzing for

:01:37. > :01:47.the arrival of Spurs. Here we go - a new dawn of Manchester derbies.

:01:47. > :01:56.Good evening and welcome to Match Of The Day 2. Four games played

:01:56. > :02:02.today, three pundits in the studio today. We would get to the first of

:02:02. > :02:07.our four games in a moment, but first in the last hour Sunderland

:02:07. > :02:19.have announced they have parted company with Paolo Di Canio after

:02:19. > :02:26.their loss yesterday. But first to be 156 Manchester derby. -- but

:02:27. > :04:42.first to be 156th Manchester derby. Smalling will not be beaten easily,

:04:42. > :04:48.but he will be beaten. Edgware Road! City are in the lead. --

:04:48. > :05:04.Aguero. A lovely ball in and that is a

:05:04. > :05:57.great finish from Aguero. A searing shot from Nasri.

:05:57. > :06:34.Manchester United really need to sort themselves out.

:06:34. > :06:50.There will be one more Manchester City corner before half-time.

:06:50. > :07:17.Toure scoring right at the end of the first half.

:07:17. > :07:23.There has been a lot between these two teams in the first half, but

:07:23. > :08:16.City has been better. That is Aguero and that is at 3-0.

:08:16. > :08:45.Manchester City are running away with the Derby!

:08:46. > :08:59.Manchester City will surely not give anything away from here. What

:08:59. > :09:06.a start to be greatest -- to the greatest rivalry between these two

:09:06. > :09:31.teams. And it is Nasri! It is becoming a

:09:31. > :09:32.battering. Two goals in the first half and two goals in the second

:09:32. > :10:03.half. A Derby Day delight for Manchester

:10:03. > :10:43.City. Sabir letter was in at Wayne

:10:43. > :11:03.Rooney's way, so he had to lift it. -- Zabaleta.

:11:03. > :11:15.You do wonder if it would have been a very different game with a van

:11:15. > :11:51.Persie on the field. -- wave of van Persie on the field.

:11:51. > :12:28.That nearly wriggled through. It has happened before.

:12:28. > :12:47.Rooney to take the United corner. Off the post. He dances his way

:12:47. > :13:31.through. It has been blocked. Desperate city defending.

:13:31. > :13:41.That was a terrific free kick, but it doesn't even get a smile. That

:13:41. > :13:44.is the clean sheet from for a burton. That was a delicious start

:13:44. > :14:16.for Rooney. it did look for a while as though it

:14:16. > :14:25.was going in. I think they gave even thought it was. One manager's

:14:25. > :14:29.Greenstock is another's nightmare. This results ensures that the city

:14:29. > :14:40.will have a blue Monday. That has to have gone as well as you

:14:40. > :14:52.could ever have expected it to. Yes, of course. Nobody believed it before

:14:52. > :14:57.the game, but we have two trust, at least try it. From the first minute

:14:57. > :15:01.we tried to be the team that had to be possession of the ball and tried

:15:01. > :15:06.to score the goals. I think we had a lot of chances. We played really

:15:06. > :15:11.well. We didn't play well enough to win the game, Manchester City played

:15:11. > :15:15.well. They deserved the victory. We could never really stop them. We

:15:15. > :15:20.allowed them to get a good service into the forward players. But we

:15:20. > :15:24.hope to try and stem that tied in the second half when we came out, we

:15:24. > :15:29.didn't. We got better as the game went on but by that time it was too

:15:29. > :15:34.late. It's really special because we say to our rivals that this year

:15:34. > :15:42.they were going to be a force. To win like that, it is special as

:15:42. > :15:44.well. Our fans today, tomorrow, they are going to be happy, but for them

:15:44. > :15:49.well. Our fans today, tomorrow, they at the most important game in the

:15:49. > :15:54.year. To win it like this is always a special moment for them. There's a

:15:54. > :15:57.long way to go in this season, we've just started. The history of

:15:57. > :16:02.Manchester United and the players at this club, they bounce back and

:16:02. > :16:06.continue to do well. You were at the game this afternoon, Michael. David

:16:06. > :16:16.Moyes said Manchester United players were a second behind their

:16:16. > :16:18.counterparts, is that fair? It is certainly fair, they could have been

:16:18. > :16:21.two or three seconds behind them! For the first hour they were

:16:21. > :16:25.dominant, they have the energy, strength, the pace. They beat

:16:25. > :16:30.Manchester United to every ball. 4-0 was a fair result after 50 minutes.

:16:30. > :16:35.Manchester United never got into the game. They brought Nathan Cleverly

:16:35. > :16:43.on, they started getting men into their opponent's half, but it was

:16:43. > :16:47.over by then. We thought it would have been a match decided by the

:16:47. > :16:51.battle between Windows and fullbacks, although bizarrely it

:16:51. > :16:56.happened in reverse. The combination, it didn't work all

:16:56. > :17:01.afternoon. Particularly Valencia, particularly with Kolarov. He caused

:17:01. > :17:05.him so many problems. Not once does Valencia know where Kolarov is. He

:17:05. > :17:10.has to have more awareness about, he got away with it on this occasion.

:17:10. > :17:15.This is the goal, so it happened once earlier. Look at the distance

:17:15. > :17:19.between Valencia and Kolarov. Kolarov has to make up 20 or 30

:17:19. > :17:24.yards past Valencia. Not once is he aware of him. He still hasn't got a

:17:25. > :17:30.clue. No one is telling Valencia that Kolarov is on his way. And it

:17:30. > :17:35.happened again. Great ball in, great finish. No marking. The dig is

:17:35. > :17:41.saying, you have to keep an eye on this, it's happening too often. And

:17:41. > :17:47.it did, ten or 15 minutes later. He is too slow to react here. No

:17:47. > :17:48.communication at all. They get away with it. That caused them problems

:17:48. > :18:02.in the first half. I felt it was a lack of

:18:03. > :18:08.communication. He needed to see the runner, speak to Valencia. You've

:18:08. > :18:11.been both a winger and a full-back. Alan was pointing out there are

:18:11. > :18:14.players who are gesturing to Valencia in this, you don't

:18:14. > :18:18.apportion all the blame to the winner. Rune as Valencia TrackBack,

:18:18. > :18:22.he speaks to him. It is just winner. Rune as Valencia TrackBack,

:18:22. > :18:30.literally moving in tandem with each other. Is ironic, because he tracks

:18:30. > :18:42.back, he's trusted, you normally hear the manager screaming onto

:18:42. > :18:46.nanny if he is playing that. He was nonexistent today. Let's go through

:18:46. > :18:53.the other goals. You've all found faults with each one of them.

:18:53. > :19:03.This is pretty basic in terms of Fellaini is marking Toure. He just

:19:03. > :19:07.let him go, as basic as that. They actually do it quite well here. I

:19:07. > :19:14.think David Moyes must have had a work with them at half-time. Verdict

:19:14. > :19:17.is in a decent position. The ditch goes out of position but Rio

:19:17. > :19:22.Ferdinand is out of position. He's got his body shape wrong. He needs

:19:22. > :19:33.to see a Aguero coming in and play and Aguero can see his number, then

:19:33. > :19:40.he's got problems. I'm looking Vidic here. He has to go and close Navas

:19:40. > :19:44.down. He has to go across there. He's got to take the gamble or Navas

:19:44. > :19:52.does what he did and takes it into the box and pick someone up. It's

:19:52. > :19:57.fair to say, for Negredo to take Smalling into the six yard box

:19:57. > :20:02.creates that space. It is players that score goals, not space. Vidic

:20:02. > :20:07.has to go out there closing down, he's allowing Navas the freedom.

:20:07. > :20:12.There were so many things wrong with United today. But there were so many

:20:12. > :20:16.things right with Manchester City. You hope you get the impression just

:20:16. > :20:23.how dominant they were. That was crucial for them. The spine was

:20:23. > :20:25.brilliant, Kompany was brilliant, you could go right through the team.

:20:25. > :20:28.The only guy who could come out with you could go right through the team.

:20:28. > :20:34.any small amount of credit was Wayne Rooney. Kompany wasn't there last

:20:34. > :20:41.week, came back in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzen of,

:20:41. > :20:45.they looked good in that game. They are a much better team with him in

:20:45. > :20:49.it. He leads by example. I thought his performance today was huge. He

:20:49. > :20:55.was in the right place at the right time. Big, strong reading of the

:20:55. > :21:00.game there. Look at him battling with Rooney, he never lost the

:21:00. > :21:05.battle all afternoon. He's got hold of him, Rooney has got hold of him,

:21:06. > :21:10.he's not going to lose that battle. With all city's attacking players,

:21:10. > :21:14.they look a much better team with Kompany in that team. He just seems

:21:14. > :21:19.to let the whole team settled by his presence on the pitch. He was

:21:19. > :21:24.totally dominant today with his pace and power at the back. Other players

:21:24. > :21:30.actually went to him. He wins the ball here, wins it there, great

:21:30. > :21:35.reading of the game. Just watch his reaction here. He wins it, he passes

:21:35. > :21:40.it. Look at the determination to get up there, get into the box, to try

:21:40. > :21:44.and play a part in a goal. Lovely ball back, all right, he doesn't get

:21:44. > :21:51.there, but look at his determination. It's possibly his run

:21:51. > :21:55.that makes Vidic not go out and close Navas down. He seen Kompany

:21:55. > :21:59.running into the box and he's thinking, am I going to have to pick

:22:00. > :22:03.him up? From a Manchester United point of view, there will be a lot

:22:03. > :22:07.of headlines about this performance. Even maybe about this derby under

:22:07. > :22:13.David Moyes. Maybe we should remember 24 years ago tomorrow, Alex

:22:13. > :22:17.Ferguson lost his first Derby 5-1. Does that put the defeat into some

:22:17. > :22:22.kind of context or was that too long ago? It is too long ago, but I don't

:22:22. > :22:26.think it's time but huge panic at Manchester United. They've been

:22:26. > :22:29.outplayed but they've showed in the last half-hour that they can mix it

:22:29. > :22:32.with Manchester City. They played really well in the last half hour

:22:33. > :22:41.period. They will be disappointed, they will need to lick their wounds.

:22:41. > :22:46.To Wales next. Spurs won all their games against the newly promoted

:22:46. > :22:47.clubs last season and have already beaten Palace this season, so could

:22:47. > :23:05.they keep up that record at Cardiff? Standing in the way of Tottenham is

:23:05. > :23:08.Stephen Caulker, who meet his old club for the first time since

:23:08. > :23:12.leaving White Hart Lane this summer. The arrival of Christian

:23:12. > :23:16.Eriksen provides Spurs with a midfield playmaker they've missed

:23:16. > :23:29.since the departure of look Drake, as they assemble a genuinely

:23:29. > :23:49.tightening challenging squad. Theophile-Catherine makes his debut.

:23:49. > :23:56.Tottenham, who last won in Cardiff in April 1957, kicking from right to

:23:56. > :24:15.left. That is a terrible backpass. I think

:24:15. > :24:23.he's out of the box! That must have been a close thing. A terrible

:24:23. > :24:28.backpass. All this is because Spurs went to narrow, the full-back got in

:24:28. > :24:37.a pickle. Naughton got himself in trouble. Goodness me! That is so

:24:37. > :24:43.close. The revelry only sees it wants in real time, but that was

:24:43. > :25:04.very close. If the referee had given it then he would have been sent off.

:25:04. > :25:20.A lovely run by Townsend. Soldado had slipped a yard off his marker.

:25:20. > :25:31.Turner comes across and time is the challenge brilliantly. There were a

:25:32. > :25:36.few eyebrows raised about Ben Turner, even amongst Cardiff fans,

:25:36. > :25:39.would he stand up to the rigours of the Premier League? But he's been

:25:39. > :25:54.brilliant for Cardiff so far this season.

:25:54. > :26:04.The keeper has done well again. Marshall off balanced, got a big

:26:04. > :26:09.left hand to block. Watch Soldado's touch here. Takes it away from the

:26:09. > :26:11.defender supremely well. Caulker made an excellent block. That's a

:26:11. > :26:36.fine stop in the end. That is just daft. He has conceded a

:26:36. > :26:41.corner when there was absolutely no need to do that. He has given

:26:41. > :26:50.Cardiff their first corner. What if you go Lloris doing here?

:26:50. > :27:01.They've scored, but it won't count. It was a foul on the keeper. Turner

:27:01. > :27:05.denied. What was Gunnarson doing here? He has pushed into the

:27:05. > :27:16.goalkeeper. That contact alone was enough to set Lloris off balance.

:27:16. > :27:20.Gunnarson is holding on the goalkeeper. It was a good decision

:27:20. > :27:23.by the referee. I don't goalkeeper. It was a good decision

:27:23. > :27:48.saw it. Apart from the self-imposed problems

:27:48. > :27:49.once or twice at the back, this is the first problem Spurs have

:27:49. > :28:20.received from Cardiff. Good reflex save from the rebound by

:28:20. > :28:30.the goalkeeper, well done David Marshall.

:28:30. > :28:34.To reflect effort by Sigurdsson, bending and dipping. Soldado really

:28:34. > :29:01.met it with power as well. He's offside. A brilliant save, mind

:29:01. > :29:08.you. What a game he's having! As the ball came back over, the flag was

:29:08. > :29:09.raised against Soldado. Anyway, he didn't beat a goalkeeper bang in

:29:09. > :29:38.form. Another fantastic stop. David

:29:38. > :30:17.Marshall is having one of the games of his life. Really good goalkeeper.

:30:17. > :30:29.That should have been a famous Cardiff winner. The game was there

:30:29. > :30:34.for the taking. Cardiff have waited for a moment like this and when it

:30:34. > :30:36.came, the chance was squandered. Everything was there, it just

:30:36. > :31:01.needed more composure. Can they win in stoppage time? A

:31:01. > :31:06.good run by Paulinho. Another piece of brilliant goalkeeping. He won't

:31:06. > :31:27.forget this game in a hurry. It is in. Paulinho has won it in

:31:27. > :31:40.stoppage time and Cardiff's brave resistance comes to an end!

:31:40. > :31:51.What a vital goal! His first in the Premier League. How about that for

:31:51. > :32:10.a finish? The result could only be a

:32:10. > :32:24.Tottenham win today and it took time, but they could only be one

:32:24. > :32:36.winner and it was asked. The boys were magnificent today playing

:32:36. > :32:45.against a very good team. However, we should have had a goal. Goodison

:32:46. > :33:01.had a chance in the second half as well. The referee has to be certain

:33:01. > :33:04.regarding hands on the line? Absolutely. I don't have complaints

:33:04. > :33:18.about that, but I do about the Absolutely. I don't have complaints

:33:18. > :33:34.disallowed goal. You are watching from one ends, so you can't see

:33:34. > :33:52.everything. You must be Peak sit? Absolutely. It is a bit sickening.

:33:52. > :34:00.To get another away win his goods. We are quite consistent. -- is good.

:34:00. > :34:30.We are quite consistent. On the Angles that we see, even

:34:30. > :34:39.from this, it is still inconclusive. This is the clear angle for me.

:34:39. > :34:52.Heat traps his arm and does not let him come clear. It is a clear foul.

:34:52. > :35:08.As far as the other one is concerned, to be fair, he did not

:35:08. > :35:17.have any complaints. We couldn't help quickly. Campbell should have

:35:17. > :35:25.been more decisive. Look how close that is to be box. There's no way

:35:25. > :35:36.you can be 100 % certain. A week or changed our minds about three times

:35:36. > :35:38.in the office. -- we all changed our minds about three times in the

:35:38. > :35:59.office. Cardiff defended well. They are

:35:59. > :36:06.very well organised. I think a lot of those shots you mentioned were

:36:07. > :36:13.from a distance. On occasion, they had so many men behind the ball.

:36:13. > :36:20.Even when they did strike from a distance, David Marshall made it

:36:20. > :36:32.hard for them. They are really disciplined with their banks of

:36:32. > :36:43.four. They are. They defend deep which -- they defend the wit well.

:36:43. > :36:48.I have been a really impressed with Tottenham and Cardiff this season.

:36:48. > :36:54.That is why it is a great result for Spurs. They created chances,

:36:54. > :37:04.more chances I think in today's game than they have in any league

:37:05. > :37:12.game this season. When they did get behind, Marshall was outstanding.

:37:12. > :37:24.This was probably the pick of the bunch from Paulinho. It felt as if

:37:24. > :37:41.the game was running out for Tottenham. This, for me just shows

:37:41. > :37:49.Tottenham's championship chasing credentials. They just kept going.

:37:49. > :37:56.They kept believing that the big chance of that goal would come.

:37:56. > :38:03.Palace versus Swansea and all of Saturday's calls and incidents and

:38:03. > :38:07.talk of Paolo Di Canio's sacking to come. Next though we will go to the

:38:07. > :38:28.Emirates. This has become a new and fierce

:38:28. > :38:46.rivalry. John Moxon kept a very close eye on this one.

:38:46. > :39:36.Mesut Ozil is making his debut appearance.

:39:37. > :39:51.Arsenal have a free kick. It is fairly central.

:39:51. > :40:23.What a start to the season. Arsene Wenger has had some disappointment

:40:23. > :40:29.with Theo Walcott dropping out today, but the arrival of Mesut

:40:29. > :41:06.Ozil will make up for that. Cameron has got the bounds of the

:41:06. > :41:18.ball and he could take advantage. - - bounce. The rebound is in.

:41:18. > :43:10.Cameron a following up and the Stoke are level. -- Stoke.

:43:10. > :43:21.No question about the free kick there.

:43:21. > :43:36.There is some pushing and shoving going on in the box. Up goes

:43:36. > :43:47.Mertesacker again. It has gone in any way! He certainly has the

:43:47. > :43:58.important touch. I don't know whether it got another touch or not.

:43:58. > :44:02.I suspect it probably didn't. It is Mertesacker. 2-1 Arsenal, 36

:44:02. > :44:19.minutes. He has put Ozil in a good position

:44:20. > :44:36.here. Gnabry set the play up for Ozil, but

:44:36. > :44:43.he was there on hand to take the return pass. Just a pity about the

:44:43. > :44:49.shot. Arsenal have only lost to of their last 20 Premier League games.

:44:49. > :44:50.15 wins and three draws. The Gnabry showing some nice touches on that

:44:50. > :45:07.side of the field. Dear me. Adams played a loose ball

:45:07. > :45:12.across the field. It was a foul but the referee has given the advantage.

:45:12. > :45:17.Gnabry was pulled down halfway inside the half. The referee chose

:45:17. > :45:24.to let play go on because, to be honest, Joe Root was in a striking

:45:24. > :45:44.position. Look at Joe Root. It is not the referee's fault. -- Giroud.

:45:44. > :46:09.That warmed the palms of Szczesny. Marcuse' team have had plenty of the

:46:09. > :46:20.ball since half-time but no end product. -- Mark Hughes.

:46:20. > :46:33.Too long for him but the header did come in... It's dropped in. It is

:46:33. > :46:48.Sagna. Where did he come from? It's another floating free from

:46:48. > :46:50.Ozil. Bacary Sagna doesn't get very many but that is really well

:46:50. > :46:53.directed header into the corner. many but that is really well

:46:53. > :47:21.Nothing that Begovic do about that. Shawcross will come forward for the

:47:21. > :47:26.corner. A little dummy there. The ball is out, is it? No. Goal kick

:47:26. > :47:44.now. The flag didn't go up. Given away,

:47:44. > :47:47.and here is Giroud with a chance, unselfish, played it to Ramsey. A

:47:47. > :47:57.good save by Begovic. Giroud sets Ramsay appear. This

:47:57. > :48:04.looked very much like number four... To win is always very

:48:04. > :48:13.important. They did it today. It was two different parts, the second was

:48:13. > :48:19.a bit more down to desire. In the end we got a very important win. I

:48:19. > :48:24.don't think there have been many end we got a very important win. I

:48:24. > :48:33.able to score three goals from the free kicks. We showed good courage

:48:33. > :48:38.and determination to get back on level terms. I thought we were

:48:38. > :48:39.valued for that. The second goal was disappointing. In the second half I

:48:39. > :48:43.thought we were very much in the disappointing. In the second half I

:48:43. > :48:45.game and looking more likely to school. Unfortunately we conceded

:48:45. > :48:46.game and looking more likely to the third and that took the wind out

:48:47. > :48:57.of our sails. What happened with Walcott? An

:48:57. > :49:01.abdominal muscle problem. I don't know how serious it is. It's a bit

:49:01. > :49:10.mysterious because I don't know what it is at the moment. We've talked

:49:10. > :49:14.about Giroud already this season and also the impact of Ozil. You want to

:49:14. > :49:19.talk about the player for whom a game against Stoke is a poignant

:49:19. > :49:21.affair. It's been three and a half years since that horrendous tackle

:49:21. > :49:31.that almost finished his career. For him mentally to comeback was

:49:31. > :49:35.thing. To come back physically from it as well, we all recognised what

:49:35. > :49:40.an achievement that has been. Today we've seen what a good finish this

:49:40. > :49:45.was for his first goal, and Arsenal's first goal. Throughout

:49:45. > :49:49.this season he's been outstanding. He's proved himself physically, he's

:49:49. > :49:52.proved himself to be a complete midfielder and has gone from

:49:52. > :49:57.strength to strength. I think often Wenger recognises that as well. He

:49:57. > :50:02.certainly does. The amount of time he is spending in the gym, the

:50:02. > :50:07.strength of him now. If you look at players over the years, they do

:50:07. > :50:12.change physically. Steven Gerrard is a great example. They come on, they

:50:12. > :50:17.are reasonably weak and skinny to start with but they grow up into

:50:17. > :50:21.real athletes. He's turning into that type of player. He can defend,

:50:21. > :50:27.tackle and pass and this year he is starting to score goals. I'm

:50:27. > :50:31.impressed with how he's been able to certainly lean into players more,

:50:31. > :50:35.looking a lot stronger, taking the ball in tight situations. I think

:50:35. > :50:38.he's been reluctant to do that over the last couple of seasons because I

:50:38. > :50:43.don't think he's been confident enough, just since that injury. We

:50:43. > :50:47.can see his range of passing, wonderfully hit crossfield ball.

:50:47. > :50:52.Even in this later stage of the game, 90th minute, he wins the ball

:50:52. > :50:53.back, gets the ball back from Giroud and create himself another

:50:53. > :51:01.opportunity. Well, we talk about the and create himself another

:51:01. > :51:06.strength and conditioning of Aaron Ramsey, and we've come and stood

:51:06. > :51:09.over here to demonstrate this strength. Mark Hughes said he wasn't

:51:09. > :51:15.happy with how Stoke defended the strength. Mark Hughes said he wasn't

:51:15. > :51:21.set pieces. I can understand why. In the first half they had a warning

:51:21. > :51:26.sign. Nzonzi is the first man in front, Wilson is behind. Mertesacker

:51:26. > :51:30.gets in the middle. I'm going to point out that the positioning of

:51:30. > :51:34.the body, both whether it is from Nzonzi on that first one... This is

:51:34. > :51:38.the second corner they score from. It's Wilson who is in front with

:51:38. > :51:45.Nzonzi behind. They give Mertesacker far too much room in there. This

:51:45. > :51:49.time they obviously get punished. I mentioned body shape. Looking at

:51:49. > :51:54.Wilson at the front, he's got to be face on. He is straight, so he can't

:51:54. > :51:59.see what's happening in behind him, he can just see what's happening in

:51:59. > :52:05.front of him. I've played that position all my career. Defending

:52:05. > :52:09.the near post on corner. You've got to get yourself on a half turn. The

:52:09. > :52:14.corner is coming in from here, so I've got to be able to look at the

:52:14. > :52:19.ball from the corner but also look at my man in behind me. I've got to

:52:19. > :52:23.get touched tight. In this case it was Mertesacker, they gave him too

:52:23. > :52:29.much room. If you try and get across me. I am tempted. It's my job to

:52:29. > :52:33.stop you doing that, so I can look at you and the ball coming in there.

:52:33. > :52:36.On both occasions there they get it totally wrong. He is to square one,

:52:36. > :52:43.he doesn't know where Mertesacker is. He can't look at the man and the

:52:43. > :52:48.ball at the same time. Whereas if he was on the half term, he could look

:52:48. > :52:52.there and there and feel where Mertesacker is. When you are

:52:52. > :52:56.attacking a corner, if you can see the shirt number of the defender you

:52:56. > :53:01.are going to get a run-up? Absolutely. Mertesacker did very

:53:01. > :53:05.well. They had won five minutes previous and scored off this one. I

:53:05. > :53:09.really want to try and have a bit of previous and scored off this one. I

:53:09. > :53:19.a block. Maybe during the final game tonight. It's Crystal Palace against

:53:19. > :53:25.Swansea. This season has already been emotional for Ian Holloway.

:53:25. > :53:29.Some misplaced word means he has to watch from the stands. In contrast,

:53:29. > :53:33.and like a truce one, Michael Laudrup has maintained a cool

:53:33. > :53:37.exterior, despite his team's Brewer start. But a win at West Brom and a

:53:37. > :53:40.draw at Liverpool are signs they are getting back to their old selves. He

:53:40. > :53:45.will be wary, Swansea have lost their last five against opposition.

:53:45. > :54:01.-- London opposition. The reality of trying to improve on

:54:01. > :54:04.that mediocre start to the season starts here come against Crystal

:54:04. > :54:08.Palace side who may well have targeted this type of game as one

:54:08. > :54:12.they have to win if they are to avoid being relegated from this

:54:12. > :54:15.level for the fifth time during the Premier League era. Palace were busy

:54:15. > :54:22.right at the end of the transfer window, and three of the newcomers

:54:22. > :54:29.make their full debuts. Guedioura and Bannan will try to bring some

:54:29. > :54:34.extra quality into midfield. Michael Laudrup heavily rotated the team

:54:34. > :54:38.which humbled Valencia. Five changes in total. A return from injury for

:54:38. > :54:43.Ashley Williams. Jonjo Shelvey is back in midfield, after taking all

:54:43. > :54:47.the headlines in last Monday's draw with Liverpool. And there a debut

:54:47. > :54:54.for yet another Spaniard, Vazquez comes in for record signing Wilfried

:54:54. > :54:58.Bony. They were too good for Valencia, but will Crystal Palace be

:54:58. > :55:11.able to bring Swansea City back down to earth with a bump today?

:55:11. > :55:23.It's a lovely ball back into the penalty area. Michu is there. Within

:55:23. > :55:30.90 seconds, Swansea people -- Swansea City pick up where they left

:55:30. > :55:37.off. They've carved a huge hole right down the heart of the Crystal

:55:37. > :55:42.Palace back four. The ricochet favoured Michu, but when he got the

:55:42. > :55:45.opportunity he made no mistake. It has been said Michu has had a slow

:55:45. > :55:51.opportunity he made no mistake. It start to the season, but that his

:55:51. > :55:58.third goal in six days. Ian Holloway has been bowled today, starting with

:55:58. > :56:05.two strikers. Whatever the game plan was, it was torn up by Swansea City

:56:05. > :56:09.within the opening 90 seconds. Palace are rattled already. That's a

:56:09. > :56:13.very cheap concession from Gabbidon, who was a former Cardiff

:56:13. > :56:24.City man. He will be particularly keen to do well here today.

:56:24. > :56:32.At the moment, Crystal Palace are just trying to hang in there.

:56:32. > :56:40.Shelvey with the corner this time. Chico Flores is off the woodwork.

:56:40. > :56:45.Speroni with the punch away. Swansea City inches away from a second goal

:56:45. > :56:51.within the opening three minutes. Chico Flores getting goal side of

:56:51. > :56:55.his man. He was very unlucky. There is Ian Holloway, sitting out the

:56:55. > :56:59.second match of his touchline ban today. He's actually watching the

:56:59. > :57:08.game from behind the goal which Palace are currently defending.

:57:08. > :57:16.That was a good challenge from Delaney. He believed it was, the

:57:16. > :57:29.crowd believed it was but Kevin Friend has given the free kick.

:57:29. > :57:37.That is possibly the worst set piece we've seen so far this season. Jonjo

:57:37. > :57:43.Shelvey has it -- they mixed evening against Liverpool on Monday, scored

:57:43. > :57:47.one, set up one, gave away two, and that's an interesting start here

:57:47. > :57:49.today. Michael Laudrup wanted his team to make a high tempo start here

:57:49. > :57:51.today. Michael Laudrup wanted his after what happened on Thursday, and

:57:51. > :58:05.they've done just that. Inches away from a second goal.

:58:05. > :58:12.Routledge getting the better of Mariappa.

:58:12. > :58:23.Now the free kick will be given. Chico Flores is as demonstrative as

:58:24. > :58:27.ever. It was strong play initially from Cameron to Rome am just the

:58:27. > :58:33.slightest Talkback there Chico Flores. There's a committee in front

:58:33. > :59:06.of the ball. It has been a remarkable

:59:06. > :59:09.transformation for Swansea and it shows no sign of stopping. They do

:59:09. > :59:20.get the corner. A brilliant save! That came out of

:59:20. > :00:03.absolutely nothing. Swansea City strike early in both

:00:03. > :00:24.the first and second half and it might be enough to win the game.

:00:24. > :00:30.Very few people inside Selhurst Park can say that Swansea City do

:00:30. > :01:02.not deserve a 2-0 lead. Moxey is already on a yellow card.

:01:02. > :01:13.There is plenty of posturing on both sides. It is all a bit

:01:13. > :01:42.unnecessary and dramatic. That should have been a Premier

:01:42. > :01:45.League goal. Again, Crystal Palace left in tatters by some slick

:01:45. > :02:32.Swansea playing. The flag is up. It will not count.

:02:32. > :02:34.It just strayed offside. The Palace fans are still singing and still

:02:34. > :02:54.trying to get behind their team. Swansea City take their second win

:02:54. > :02:59.of the Premier League season with comparative ease. Ian Holloway

:02:59. > :03:07.knows he has a huge job on to keep Crystal Palace in the Premier

:03:07. > :03:15.League. A great week. It started with a difficult game against

:03:15. > :03:21.Liverpool. This is our third game in six days. I can't believe house

:03:21. > :03:27.after that first goal was. We talked all week about how they

:03:27. > :03:38.played and past and about getting tight. I could have scored that, it

:03:38. > :03:45.is just ridiculous. It is very disappointing. We have got a lot of

:03:46. > :03:54.work to do. That was awful. Things are working. This is our second

:03:54. > :04:06.away win in the league. The third one in four games. I think the

:04:06. > :04:10.punishment is ridiculous. I have got to learn the hard way and there

:04:10. > :04:19.was tough today. A good thing they would have dropped as farm with me

:04:19. > :04:23.on this side encouraging them. I after the game I spoke to the

:04:23. > :04:30.Swansea captain. It was a brilliant performance from us. If I were to

:04:30. > :04:33.be critical, we could have scored more goals. It was a big week for

:04:33. > :04:51.the club and we performed very well. What are the challenges for the

:04:51. > :04:55.club when you have several games in a short space of time. We need to

:04:55. > :05:01.recover as quickly as possible and get our bodies right. The plus

:05:01. > :05:07.point is that you play rather than train. Definitely. There are not a

:05:07. > :05:17.lot of footballers who like to train. We preferred games. When the

:05:17. > :05:30.games are coming quick and fast, it is great. What's your opinion on

:05:30. > :05:40.Michu? He is very clinical in front of the golf. -- the goal. He is

:05:40. > :05:46.unhappy because he thought he should have scored more, but his

:05:46. > :05:53.all-round performance was brilliant. Thank you for talking to us. Kevin,

:05:53. > :05:55.what do you make of Ian Holloway's comments? He felt estranged by not

:05:55. > :06:14.been on the touchline. He is trying to take the

:06:14. > :06:21.performance away from the team. For me, when you are out there, you

:06:21. > :06:27.should not be relying on your manager on the touchline. He said

:06:27. > :06:31.he was excited, but that faded away. Swansea had a tough game on

:06:31. > :06:44.Thursday in Spain. They have travelled back. They should have

:06:44. > :06:52.been a few goals down, but they weren't. If you just turn this

:06:52. > :07:00.around, their is no-one within 15 yards. Two centre halves of very

:07:00. > :07:07.deep. He has got time to play a pass. There is no-one with him

:07:07. > :07:13.whatsoever. That is what he said, his middle and back line were not

:07:13. > :07:18.working. It just goes from bad to worse for Palace. Just look what

:07:18. > :07:29.happens here. It is absolutely staggering. This is after four

:07:29. > :07:46.minutes. It is so bad, it is incredible.

:07:46. > :07:54.I spoke to Ashley Williams after the game and he talked about Michu.

:07:54. > :08:06.He is playing in a different position to the one he played last

:08:06. > :08:15.season. I think it is the position he wanted to play. He is everywhere.

:08:15. > :08:19.He is wide, he is central, he touches the ball. He likes floating

:08:19. > :08:26.everywhere and finding these pockets. As we see here, he has

:08:26. > :08:34.picked up the ball and made up a couple of runs. He is always in the

:08:34. > :08:42.box. He was instrumental in virtually everything today. Again,

:08:42. > :08:48.finding that space, a great touch and a great strike. Alan

:08:48. > :08:55.highlighted the fact that Crystal Palace gave him a lot of space, but

:08:56. > :09:00.do we have to give him credit? He was outstanding with his position,

:09:01. > :09:03.but he does know when to pass and went to shoot. That is the key to

:09:03. > :09:26.Michu. It was a joy to watch him. He camps

:09:26. > :09:39.of a wonderful display with a great goal. He does have a physical

:09:39. > :09:43.presence. Let us go back to the story that we brought you at the

:09:43. > :09:48.top of the show this evening and that is that Paolo Di Canio has

:09:48. > :09:54.lost his job as Sunderland's head coach. It follows yesterday's

:09:54. > :10:05.defeat at West Brom. They were beaten 3-0. West Brom fans, you

:10:06. > :10:14.what excuse us if we talk more about Sunderland, but but that is

:10:14. > :10:26.the story. Allen, or you -- are you surprised that he has gone? I am. I

:10:26. > :10:34.am sure the powers that be did their homework before they hired

:10:34. > :10:41.him and they knew what he's man- management techniques were like.

:10:41. > :10:47.But to give him money to spend in the summer and then five games into

:10:47. > :10:52.the season to so, I am sorry, but what we have seen so far is good

:10:52. > :10:57.enough, we are sacking you. I am staggered. He was a gamble to give

:10:57. > :11:04.him the job in the first place. Martin O'Neill did a decent job. I

:11:04. > :11:10.think the gamble was, at seven games to go, let us see if he can

:11:10. > :11:16.keep us up. He hasn't changed, he was like that at Swindon. I think

:11:16. > :11:22.they want an impact. I think it was a short-term appointment. That

:11:22. > :11:26.management style is what we believe has cost him his job. He apparently

:11:26. > :11:32.management style is what we believe had a row with the players at

:11:32. > :11:38.training today. It will be in the newspapers tomorrow. He said the

:11:38. > :11:44.players had to come into training to clear the rubbish in their heads.

:11:44. > :11:53.Who knows what is meant by that. Football is like a village. I have

:11:53. > :11:58.heard players being disgruntled by what he has done. It hardly

:11:58. > :12:04.surprises me is something else cropped up on the training ground.

:12:04. > :12:10.But he had arguments with his players in his previous job. I go

:12:10. > :12:15.back to the point, surely the guys at Sunderland knew that. He has not

:12:15. > :12:25.changed, he is the same guy and his management style is the same. As we

:12:25. > :12:36.pointed out earlier, he brought in at 14 players. The players who

:12:36. > :12:42.signed new his management staff. He has questioned the players diets,

:12:42. > :12:57.but whether their heart is in it. He has questioned them as people.

:12:57. > :13:04.It is no surprise. They have also appointed a lot of backroom staff

:13:04. > :13:08.that he brought in. I am presuming and the manager might come in and

:13:08. > :13:17.whether the owner says you have to work with the bat Quinn guys he

:13:17. > :13:20.already appointed to, it could cost them a fortune. Dash back be

:13:20. > :13:53.backroom guys. -- back from Guy's. Gus Poor used also on the list,

:13:53. > :14:00.which would mean we would have to fill the seat here on next week if

:14:00. > :14:04.he got the job. Roberto di Matteo, Andre Villas-Boas and now Paolo Di

:14:04. > :14:15.Canio have all lost their jobs after playing against West Brom. Man

:14:15. > :14:22.United next week, incredible, isn't it? Surely not! Let's look at more

:14:22. > :14:24.of Saturday's games. We will. With the two Merseyside clubs who went

:14:24. > :14:45.into yesterday 's matches unbeaten. It's over the wall and it's a

:14:45. > :14:54.brilliant save. Absolutely magnificent. Middle of the goal,

:14:54. > :14:58.yes, but it was travelling quickly. Southampton have got a corner and

:14:58. > :15:08.Liverpool are under pressure. It's in! Southampton have taken the lead!

:15:08. > :15:13.You could just see that happening. Lovren is celebrating his first

:15:13. > :15:15.Southampton goal. It is the first goal that Liverpool have conceded at

:15:15. > :15:24.home in the Premier League this season. It is all their own fault.

:15:24. > :15:35.Jarvis, can he go all the way here? It's a deflection and in. West Ham

:15:35. > :15:37.in front. Just gone half an hour at Upton Park. Morrison gets his first

:15:37. > :15:43.-- second goal of the season. That is fantastic! What a free kick

:15:43. > :16:05.from Leighton Baines. Nolan down in the area. Penalty

:16:05. > :16:11.kick. Mark Noble got four goals last season for West Ham, three of them

:16:11. > :16:12.were penalties. West Ham back in front. Tim Howard goes one way and

:16:12. > :16:27.the ball is sent to the other. This could be trouble for West Ham.

:16:27. > :16:34.Mark Noble has already been booked. It is a second yellow card. Mark

:16:34. > :16:44.Noble is sent off. Can Baines produce a repeat performance? It's

:16:44. > :16:49.in! Astonishing! A wonderful display of how to take a free kick from

:16:49. > :16:55.Leighton Baines. Not once, but twice! Lukaku. Everton looking to

:16:55. > :17:08.preserve their one-man advantage. What a moment for Lukaku. His

:17:08. > :17:13.Everton debut and his put them 3-2 in front. Not quite to show that

:17:13. > :17:20.Lukaku knows too much about it, though. As for the rest of

:17:20. > :17:28.yesterday's games, we saw more goals and a surprise scorer.

:17:28. > :17:33.The T-shirts will already be printed and ready to go on sale to the

:17:33. > :17:42.Chelsea fans saying, I was there when John Obi Mikel scored.

:17:42. > :18:00.It's a real chance here for Darren Bent, denied by Petra check.

:18:00. > :18:10.In from Oscar. That's the break Chelsea needed. The Brazilian's

:18:10. > :18:16.second Premier League goal of the season is a most welcome want to

:18:16. > :18:24.break the deadlock. Hooked in this time by John Obi Mikel. Who, on the

:18:24. > :18:30.185th attempt, scored his first ever Premier League goal.

:18:30. > :18:37.The sun shone at St James' Park and so did Newcastle's Remy. But it was

:18:38. > :18:44.Aluko who provided the spectacular matchwinner.

:18:44. > :18:54.This is so go for Newcastle, Ben Arfa to his right, Cabaye to his

:18:54. > :19:00.left. And a header, into the back of the net for Remy! His first goal for

:19:00. > :19:05.Newcastle. That was all part of the plan, wasn't it? The transfer

:19:05. > :19:10.policy, bring one man in, that might be enough. 1-1. Third goal of the

:19:10. > :19:28.season for Robbie Brady. It's his second! Alan Pardew's team

:19:28. > :19:35.are back in front. Brady's delivery. Elmohamady, of the post

:19:35. > :19:40.and in. Brilliant start to the second half from Hull. Hull City

:19:40. > :19:46.find themselves back on level terms here.

:19:47. > :19:57.That is magnificent! It's a first ever Premier League goal for Aluko.

:19:57. > :20:05.Having twice been behind in this match, Hull City now lead 3-2 at St

:20:05. > :20:13.James' Park. Four black and white jerseys in the penalty area. What

:20:13. > :20:20.about that? ! The performance of the weekend was

:20:20. > :20:27.from a goalkeeper. He was simply brilliant at Carrow Road.
